Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio, living the dream
once again.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Here on a fully loaded NFL Sunday, Week thirteen. We
got seven games kicking off right now, forty nine Ers
at the Browns, Jaguars at the Titans, Texans at the Colts,
Saints at the Dolphins, Falcons at the Jets, Cardinals at
the Buccaneers, and the Rams at the Panthers.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
VJ.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
It is getting serious now, as tomorrow will turn the
page into the month of December. Every game has meaning.
Can I say one thing before we hear the great
voice of VJ. Husky, I do not want to hear
anyone say again about any team in this league. Who
had they beaten? Who has anybody beaten? This league is
(00:48):
so equal right now. There are no upsets. We had
the Lions lose at home. We have the Ravens supposedly
on the roll losing home to Cincinnati. The Chiefs all
they're back, they're sick since six right now. So we've
been seeing all these teams that you're like, Okay, well
they have a good record. Who have they beaten?
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Again?
Speaker 2 (01:07):
My question to you is, who has anybody beaten? I
just looked at me. The Rams officer playing some great
football right now. But BJ we've talked about parody for many,
many years around the National Football League, and if you
don't bring your game, like you don't show up, there
are no walkovers in this league. You get beats by
anybody in this league. So I would like to eliminate that.
(01:29):
You know, well, the Bears, who are they beaten? Who
has anybody beaten? That is my thought as we go
into week thirteen.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Well, you're absolutely right and happy related Thanksgiving man, to
all our listeners out there, all our good fans. Man
here listen to end Zone Radio, Fox Sports Radio. I
hope you guys all had a great, safe, blessed Thanksgiving
and a great safe, uh blessed Black Friday and college
football robery Saturday yesterday.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
So Steve you right, listen man, I'm glad.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
I'm glad you guys are starting to catch up because
I think I might have said this two or three
weeks ago. We just can't do that this year, and
you really can't do that anytime. It's one of the
worst things to actually try to debate with in football.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
But you know what it's for.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
It's for the talking heads, it's for the radio it's
for TV. Do you think these players that we're watching
right now four games up, guys with helmet show the pass,
grown ass men that make millions of dollars to play
a game that we all love to sit and watch,
cheer for, purchase member ballia tickets and all.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
That stuff fantasy football?
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Do you think these guys care about who they beat?
If they beat a bad team. You're supposed to beat
bad teams, because if you don't beat the bad team,
what's the first thing we come out and say, Well,
they couldn't even beat such or such, or they look
like this about such and such. You just mentioned the Ravens.
What a debacle, What a debacle? Thanksgiving night? And I
did I not tell you guys, Dereck Henry's lost? Did
(02:44):
I not tell you guys this?
Speaker 4 (02:46):
And Bow and I?
Speaker 1 (02:47):
But we were right dog. They got on a little
one and streak.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
But you can see Lamar Jackson's not right, No, he's
not a Jackson's not right.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
How about this with Lamar Jackson three straight games now
with no touchdown.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Pass rush touched the first time in his career.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Right, so they let you know that type of a
longevity score and threat that man's been. It's put the
tape on, guys. Get rid of the numbers, get rid
of the pieces of paper. Tape does not lie. It
will always show you exactly who every player is, exactly
whoever coaches, and who exactly whatever team it is. Tape
(03:22):
doesn't lie when you start to put on the tape
about some of these teams. Man, you talked about your Chiefs.
You talk we talked about Dallas. You got people wanting
to write Dallas. I've just seen Dallas for the last
two weeks on a short week, be down twenty one nothing,
come back and be Philly and then listen, thirty one
points that went total toe total toe.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Hold on, hold on. You know when people are always
buying back in the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
You know they beat the.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Colts, right, so right, Chiefs are back, Cheess are back
and their defense I was valid, though they gave up
five hundred yards to Dallas.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Man, but what we talk about that or this last week?
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Bags mane hundred kid out of here. Look but the
Chiefs are no different than any other team right now.
They're all love together. This is all gonna come down.
Who's going to be playing the the best football at
the end. Who's getting healthy. I mean, you know we're
talking about the Joe Burrow situation, right well, should he
come back?
Speaker 1 (04:14):
I mean, they're out of it. The guy wants to play.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
He made it clear he was. The interview before this game,
they're a lot of they were asking, you.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Know, they got a shot though, you know they got
a shot. Look at the schedule, Look at the way
that it's crazy that you got the Steelers got a shot.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Guys.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
The Steelers are six and five. The Ravens are six
and six. Right the Bengals are in at four and eight.
Cleveland's at three and eight. By the way, Miles Garrett,
I mean, this guy is unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Him him against Trick Williams today. I mean him against
Tree Williams today.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
That's that's big. That's big man for that.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
All right there, that's where we're looking at right there,
did Miles Garrett already get I'm looking up at the
screen right now, Look at this two guys. Two guys
are doubling. Okay, So anyway, he's also, by the way,
he is eighteen sacks. Already's gonna shatter the NFL single season.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Record for sack.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
So yeah, I mean I just like I said, let's
you know, from this point on, it's not about it
who beats you.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
It's just winning.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Okay, win a game and you get into the postseason
and whoever gets hot. Any one of these teams, any
one of these teams could get on a roll and
win an NFL team.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
At the Cowboys could.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
I mean, you just beat the two teams that were
in the Super BOWLT in the way back back to
back on a short week, on a short week, five
days apart right now.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Granted it was at home. You can't add that. It
don't matter. It doesn't matter. That don't matter what a
game is. I beat you.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
So you know, when we people tied to downgrade the
Patriots or the Broncos, I mean, how.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
About the Bears? I mean really, I mean the Bears.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Man took care of business, and everyone's well, the Bears
are phonies.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
You know, we g is scheduled in the league. We
point all this out.
Speaker 5 (05:53):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Ben Johnson seems to have done a pretty good job.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Thursday, Chicago Bears Thursday Night, working things given night. I
ad Arnie Spaniard, our great colleague here with him, and
I did the show filling in for Jason Smith and
his best friend Mike Harmon. I said, can we stop
now with the are the Bears?
Speaker 1 (06:10):
All the Bears?
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Last week we had a conversation about who's gonna win
this NFC North and it's Green Bay Yards.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
You know, the Detroit could come back.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
And I sat here and told you guys, I know
bo I know Caleb's's guys, hey man, even though he's
not playing like great and he didn't play it, adn't
play that great, thanksgiven night. But the team is what
they are. They're nine to three. They are what they are.
They're in first place. I don't like, I said, I
just don't know if I trust the offense.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
But how about the defense? Once again?
Speaker 3 (06:36):
In two hundred and eighty one yards on the ground again,
two backs over one hundred yards?
Speaker 1 (06:41):
How do you give up two hundred and eighty one
yards rest and that?
Speaker 2 (06:44):
And the Eagles defense has been like that. Caleb Williams
was having a great game at all. I mean he
was right fifty right, right in a round fifty percent
all right. I just want to do a quick update
right now the playoffs standings as we get into these
games around the NFL seven games right now, all right.
On the NFC side, the Rams are the one seed,
the Bears are the two, Eagles are the three. Buccaneers
are the four Those are the division leaders. Your wild
(07:06):
cards are Seattle, Green Bay, and San Francisco. Lions out,
Dallas out, Carolina out all right. On the AFC side,
you've got doing one Denver two to any three Steelers
for your division leaders. Chargers five, Jaguars six, Bill seven,
Texans out, Chiefs out, Ravens out. That's where we are
(07:30):
right now. The Rams didn't waste any time. They went
right down the field. This is the one team that
is the only team right now, VJ that is top
five in the NFL in both offensive and defensive efficiency.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Okay, they're the only team right now, Bo Wars, Good
luck Jersey today. He's got He's got the Devonte seventeen on.
He gets the touchdown right off the break.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
You know what, But this year with Devonte Adams's the
reminding of was Randy Moss joined Tom Brady.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
Remember you'd sort of disappear with the Raiders for a
couple of years.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
They thought he was done, and then all of a
sudden he twenty three touchdowns right now? How many is
that for demonte thirteen, eleven, thirteen, twelve or thirteen ye are.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
All going into this week? Yes, so they're thirteen.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Yeah, and he doesn't have like a ton of yards
and a ton of catches. No, And I think and
if I'm not mistaken, I think seven or eight of
the touchdowns are within ten yards, like they're like it
doesn't matter though, like this is what they got him for.
And speaking of the Rams, listen, man, I I'm almost
right there with you, But I still believe in Philly
because I've seen reigning Super Bowl teams. Can think about it.
(08:33):
Philly's eighty four. Their four losses are all back to back.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
They're not good. And I'm not giving up on the
Eagles either, but they're they're not playing.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
But they're but their four losses are all back to back, right,
So you could kind of almost see this coming on
the show week.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
I knew the game was.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
At home, but it didn't feel super comfortable, especially when
I saw the spread.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
The didn't feel super comfortable about it.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
But at the end of the day, we still have
weeks to go, we still have over a month left
in football.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Two hundred and twenty yards, I know, does that sound
like a Super Bowl team. No, but yes it does
because sorry, which one of those Bears guys running backs
are gonna be first team.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
On Prime show? That doesn't matter. That doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
It's none, no, unless I'm explain because it's not every week.
That was an anomaly, but it was embarrassing because the
world saw it on Black Friday, Prime Football.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
That's why it's.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
People are gonna go, oh my god, they get go
look up.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
The rest of the rushing years.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
The week after you blew a twenty one to nothing
lead to the cowbit.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
That's what I just explained. Their losses come back to back.
They're eight and four. They lost back to back games
earlier this year. Bo debuted a whole new sound on
here that he was right that the year was gonna
be over. They go on to win the Street. They
dropped back to back games again. I believe still they
will get on track.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
Now back to the Rams.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
The Rams are probably playing the cleanest I don't know best,
but they're playing the cleanest football because that Seattle game,
that kicker misses that kick.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Okay, let's that offense.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
Jumps out on them with fourteen though it's seventeen nothing
and then that defense from Seattle settles in. He locks
him down for the rest of that game. I told
you guys last week, the Rams are a team. They
got to get out on you quick. If they can
get out on you quick, they can survive these games
and get these wins. That's how they've been winning some
of these games. So I can't put them. Just blow
them past Philly.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
How about this.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Matthew Stafford with that touchdown pass to start this game
is twenty eighth consecutive touchdown pass since his last interception.
That has never been done in the history of the
National Football League.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
I've been telling people for about four or five years.
I've argued with everyone at this station. He is a
Hall of Famers.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Not because he's gonna win an MVP Award. He's the
runaway favorite right now. Man, he's a Hall of all right.
He has thirty one touchdowns two picks this year, all right.
Twenty eight consecutive touchdown passes since he threw his last
interception has not happened in the history of the NFL.
By the way, your dolphin's ready to roll at home
against the Saints. Get a touchdown, ah A gets in
(10:56):
the end zone, so we got seven games going on
right now. We have a full schedule this week, no
buys this week. Next week there are the last four
teams that have a buye. We're getting serious as they're
about to turn the page into the month of December.
For all the scores, the stats, the analysis, everything you need,
keep it right here.

Second down from inside the five yard line, they throw
right side, it's.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Low, it's caught at the goal line Hitsdefonte for a.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Touchdown six straight games that Adams.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
Hits paydirts and the Rams strike first in Carolina. That's
the Rams Radio network. Rams off to the early seven
to nothing lead on the road against the Carolina Panthers,
and now the Panthers have tied it. So the Panthers
have come back on a Bryce Young to Hubbard touchdown
pass to thirty five yards, and so seven to seven
(12:33):
Panthers still trying to stay alive for an opportunity to
wiggle their way into the postseason. All right, once again,
this is End Zone Radio, Harbin and Husky with you're

(12:53):
up icon coming away. Let us know who takes you like,
even those you don't like. Just search Fox Sports Radio
on YouTube and subscribe. All right, So we got seven
to seven Rams Panthers right now, Dolphins leading seven nothing,
Titans early three to nothing lead against the Jaguars, and
the forty nine Ers have taken a seven nothing lead
(13:14):
over the Browns.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
The other games no score right now.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
And we also have this big game here Texans taking
the early three nothing lead against the Colts. So you know,
again getting back to the standings right now, VJ. I mean,
let's take a look, for instance, at this AFC South.
You have the Colts at eight and three, you have
the Jaguars at seven and four, and then you have
the Texans with the number one scoring defense, the number
(13:39):
one overall defense at six and five on a three
game winning streak. If the Texans beat the Colts today,
all bets are off. And so you know, this is
I love this time of year. And this is really
where he gets interesting.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
Because we go week to week.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
You've already established the fact there are no you know,
big wins, like who you beat any anyone's a win,
wins a win, everything's equal right now. But this Texan
team intrigues me because if they can somehow sneak into
the postseason with that defense, with that defense, man oh man, yeah,
that defense beat anybody.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
That defense in a running game. I also want to
backtrack to the Panthers use the term wiggle in. They're
not gonna have to wiggle in anything Monday night. If
they'd won, they'd have been in first place. That's not
wiggling in. That's a home playoff game, that's a division.
We say Atlanta's done, right, Saints done, and then aa,
we know we don't know what's up with the Bucks
because Baker, Baker, non, Baker's hurt.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Well, the thing about the Bucks were early in the
year they were pulling games out. Yeah, Baker was in
the conversation for MVP. But they haven't been great at
any really point. They just were able to, thank to
the quarterback, pull some games out late.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Well, now they're not.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
That's part of greatness though I thought they were great
earlier there they go up to didn't remember they go
up to Seattle, who we love that defense and threw
almost a forty burger on them up in Seattle, which
is hard to do flying from the East coast to
the West coast to do so.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
So let's not forget that game. But they've been banged
up too.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
Mike Evans is miss time, Ibuka's missed time, and now
Baker's banged up. I'm not gonna call them done, but
I just wanted to just point out about the Panthers
as far as saying wiggle in or they're not gonna
wiggle nothing. They actually have an opportunity to win this
division and get a whole playoff game, which will be
a great experience, in a great leap for that head
coach and my guy b Y onto this division. Though
(15:21):
you're right, they get this dubbed today. Okay, game on
because we still got the Jags. Now, we don't really
know what to think about the Jags. I think we
know we can think about the Bears. Right that you
said earlier to open the show. Let's put that away.
Speaker 1 (15:32):
The Bears.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
The Bears are nine and three, we can stop. Oh
are they believe?
Speaker 1 (15:36):
Listen?
Speaker 4 (15:36):
Man, you are what your record says you are.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Them and the Patriots I'm backing off of and I'm saying, listen,
those are two teams that are probably gonna win the
division's host a playoff game. Good luck going against Rabel
and his defense. Good luck going against that turnover happy
defense in Chicago and their quarterback and their head coach.
But this division right here, this is huge, and CJ's back.
You know, he wants to prove he's okay. You know,
(15:58):
he hears the noise from guys like you and I, Right,
who's been questioning CJ after that rookie year. This is
a huge game for the coach. They cannot drop this.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
Game, all right, quick detour for a second here. I've
been saying in the last several weeks about the future
of Lane Kiffin that I really believe the best situation
where Lane would be taking the New York Giants job.
But apparently he will be the new coach at LSU.
He's gonna leave his Ole Miss team immediately as they
get ready for their postseason.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Of course, they came ever so close.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
If Auburn had upset Alabama, they would have been in
the SEC Championship game. But Lane Kiffin going to LSU,
I don't get it. I mean, to me, LSU's a
lateral move. Yesterday, I mean, I got Martin all over me. Oh,
LSU's one of the premier programs in the country. I said, Look,
they won three national championships, one with Nick dab and
one with Les Miles, one with.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Ed Ord Run. Outside of that, where else? I mean
they're Auburn.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
Auburn does that every once in a while, they jump
out of nowhere and they get a national championship or
they get an undefeated run. How is this a move
up for Lane Kiffin? I thought he wanted to test
himself at the highest level with his former quarterback Jackson Dart. Okay,
so ninety million dollars then he Isn't he on record
saying it's not about the money.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
He abandoned his team.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
I just I mean, people say, well, now you have
the transfer portal, what's the difference Now? Players abandoned their
team all the time. Okay, and it's been going on
in college football forever. But what are your thoughts?
Speaker 1 (17:20):
I mean, it's I mean, Lane Kiffin, it's a money grab.
I get it.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Uh what does it tell you about Lane Kiffen? What
does it tell you about the future of the LSU program?
Are they gonna rattle off national championships now that Lane
Kiffen is their coach once again?
Speaker 3 (17:34):
I'm glad you guys are finally catching up. I called David. Look, Giants,
fire Davo and bring in Lance and bring in Lane
because you got your quarterback already there with him. So
that's not gonna happen. And listen, I'm not gonna knock
the guy for taking ninety million.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
I'm just not.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
It doesn't tell you know, what it tells me. He
tells me he wants ninety million dollars. That's what he
tells me. This whole idea is, oh, what does it
tell you about the money?
Speaker 1 (17:55):
Dude?
Speaker 3 (17:55):
You don't turn down and have seen amount of money
in your lifetime. You live one lifetime. You got one
shot to create generational wealth for yourself, your lady, your husband,
your kids.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
Your friends, whatever. You don't turn that down.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Now, as far as the job move goes, makes zero
sense to me, And so did Florida's name.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Being out there.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
If you want to take the Penn State job and
battle to big boys like Ohio State and Michigan and
now Oregon and USC and stuff like that, like go
get revenge on them.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
If you wanted to do something like.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
That, all right, cool, But this is a complete lateral move.
Go into the NFL. And I told you Aartie and
I we argued about this for like forty five minutes
the other night, and it got great tread on Twitter.
Speaker 4 (18:38):
People were eating it up.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
I always say, in your profession, you want to compete
with the people that are at the top level. It's
in radios and TV's in law, it's in accounting, it's
in sales, it's everything. You always want to compete. Well,
you failed the first time. That's why you go back.
Because you failed the first time, you rebuilt yourself.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Pete Garrol did it. I did it all right, But
I want to know this.
Speaker 5 (19:02):
Wait, so guys, we have a small NFL breaking news. Oh,
Matt Stafford just throw an interception.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
What happened?
Speaker 2 (19:09):
The streak is over? Oh no, oh no, after what
I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (19:13):
That's why Steve he's just saying that Stafford is never
going to throw.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
Well I never said that, but I did said.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
He said an NFL record twenty eight touchdown passes since
his last interception.
Speaker 9 (19:23):
I thought that.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
I thought this whole day. Yeah, I'm like, by Manzi
real quick before you go. I thought this hole when
Steve said something it goes. I thought this was a
joke when I first started to show to you guys,
I'm all in. Now.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
He needs to stop talking about good stuff to people
that that were trying to cheer for either good or bad.
I can don't have misfortunes. No, she doesn't want to
do it.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Oh God, by the way, just quick note follow up
on this whole link given thing.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
So in the United States.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
The poorest state this is based on medium household income,
poverty rates, and everything else, is the state of Mississippi.
The second poorest state in the United States is the
state of Louisiana that just dished out fifty four million
dollars to get rid of one coach and handed another
coach ninety million dollars in the second poorest.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
I tell you got the United States. Don't tell me
about this money. Don't tell me about this buyouts. Though
I've been so big, Stop telling me about, Oh, they're
not going to fire because they Oh, these people don't care.
They got more money than you think they got.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
Well, if you have that kind of money to spend
on a football coach, either to get rid of and
that's almost one hundred and fifty million dollars to get
rid of one coach and hire another in the second
poorest state in the entire United States, the state of Louisiana.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Make your point. I know where you go go ahead.
I made my point right there. There's no follow up.
Speaker 4 (20:42):
I thought, no, I thought you had. If you and
if you get about that kind of money.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Yeah, I mean, if you have that kind of money,
how about helping out the poor people.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
There, it is, there, it is.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
You know, how about helping the poor people if you
got that kind of money to throw around or get
rid of one coach and hire another coach. How about
helping the stay with the second highest poverty rate in
the United States?
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Huh, how about that? That'll be a good idea, Steve.
It lets you lets you know, though, man, what they
care about? You know what I always say, Steve, always
let people do what they want to do, because you
know it'll show you.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
It'll show you what they rather do.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Man.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
Only let people do what they want to owe you
what they rather do.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
Well, the governor got all bent out of shape.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
They still paid for the outgoing Brian Kelly his first
fifty four filling, but one hundred and fifty.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
Million to get rid of one guy and bring in another.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
Guy in the second poorest state, highest poverty rate in
the entire United States. Wow, maybe that money could be
redirected somewhere else.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Does he win a national championship in the next three years.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
That eliship no will not no no?
Speaker 5 (21:43):
You know, I I look at Ias though. If he
stays no no, does that have a better chance of
winning one of the uls?
Speaker 1 (21:49):
You were all, miss look, they're not Georgia.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
Let me ask you this, fifty to fifty guys, guys
still got to be Bama, still got to be Georgia.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
Who's in the SEC Championship game again, again.
Speaker 5 (22:01):
And again and again Fama and Georgia with the resources
he has at LSU. Well, uh, you nectorically, that's just
how it is.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
And by the way, uh.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
This move in your own conference type of thing. You
don't think that the guys are using that against him.
I mean on the recruiting trail, you're like, Okay, this guy,
look at LSU, they open up the conference. They just
seem to have a bottomless money you know, on this university.
Because that now that you spend ninety million on a coach,
you better spend about the equal amount on your NIL players.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. Also to I
don't think this affects recruiting. I really don't. Guys like
this nil runs recruiting. Now it really does. NIL runs recruiting.
So no kid's gonna go, well, how can I guarantee
you're gonna be? You can't guarantee I'm gonna be. You're
just like I can't guarantee you're gonna be here.
Speaker 10 (22:47):
Now.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Do you want to come and try to start something
with us here and come playing talk winn Astra Championship
or is this gonna be your question for every coach's
liver that sits your liver, it's go It goes both ways.
So that's no one's gonna use anything against him. I
just think it was a move. You're gonna here, stay
if you're gonna be an sec just stay where you are.
If you're not going to Georgia, you're not going out abat.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
It just didn't make sense to me. All right, let's
find out what it is trending right now.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
I don't want him to go to the NFL.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
Well, I mean, it made a lot of sense to
me because obviously he had a an aborted attempt at
NFL coaching years and years ago. Raiders, this is your
second opportunity. You're a better coach now, and you could
go to a team that you can only go off.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
Still young enough, right, Still young enough?
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Like that now? Lane Lane kiffn's about Lane Kiffin? All right,
So how are you Montsi?
Speaker 9 (23:31):
I'm better than Lane Kiffin?
Speaker 1 (23:32):
Yes, indeed, that's for sure.
Speaker 9 (23:34):
Yeah, what he's doing, man.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
He's getting a lot of crap. Are you really Why would.
Speaker 11 (23:41):
You make an announcement that you were going to make
an announcement after this game and then you haven't made
the announcement, right, what are we doing?
Speaker 3 (23:46):
I wanted him to go to the NF I just
thought it was time you've reproven yourself. Go back, man
and prove and if you feel okay, cool, you can
always go back.
Speaker 11 (23:54):
To college again, or I can stay where you're having
success and you are a hero.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
It's that he's getting sa It's not that he's getting
savage to go to LSU.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
It's how he's doing this exactly. But all these all
coaches do it this way. Guy, most of the coaches
do it this Now, he's really watched this. We've had coaches.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
Sitting live right, I'm not leaving.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
I love it here.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Twenty four hours later, they get on a plane in
the middle of the night.
Speaker 9 (24:20):
I think we see it all. Me, Jay's right, because
we see it all. We've seen that, and then we've also.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
Seen this one is getting messy.
Speaker 9 (24:27):
I agree, I agree, and I don't know.
Speaker 11 (24:28):
There's reports that it's because ole Miss is not going
to let him coach the rest of the way if
they do get in the playoff.
Speaker 9 (24:34):
And I don't know if that's true your opinion, Should
they let him?
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Should they let him coach out the.
Speaker 11 (24:38):
Year if it's gonna matter that they can actually get
into the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
You know what they're gonna do.
Speaker 11 (24:43):
Joe Judges is going to be because they're saying, if
he's not going to be there.
Speaker 9 (24:45):
Do they get it to go on into the playoff?
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Old Miss has already made plans for this, right, They
hired Joe Judge as an assistant and you know, former
NFL coach, he'll take over.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
They will be in the play they're in the playoffs.
Speaker 11 (24:57):
Well, they said that there's gonna be consideration if he's
not going to be there, that they're going to take
that into consideration that you're going to analyze that this
just happened, and I don't think it's the same.
Speaker 9 (25:07):
But they're bringing up when floores what I.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
Was about to make quarterbacks hurt? So we're not gonna
put them.
Speaker 1 (25:17):
On our Saturday show.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
This is the twelve school playoff. You cannot not include.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
You trust that you trust.
Speaker 9 (25:26):
I'm just telling you you trust.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Well, there's supposedly a selection committee.
Speaker 11 (25:29):
Okay, okay, and so J if they can go on
without him, go on without him, right, Okay, you don't
have to come. Do you have to be here in
order for us to be in the playoff?
Speaker 9 (25:38):
Fine, come on back. You got what saying?
Speaker 1 (25:40):
That's that's yeah, I'm gonna cut my mic.
Speaker 9 (25:44):
Yeah, all right, let's.
Speaker 11 (25:45):
Go guys, NFL before VJ says something. Christian McAffrey in
the end zone in Cleveland puts the forty nine ers
on the scoreboard first against the Browns seven zero. Late
in the first quarter, Trevor Lawrence connected with Jacobe Myers
for a touchdown, so they are up on the Titan
seven to three, also late in the first All of
these games are late in the first except for one,
and I'll get to that one in a second. The
Texans on the scoreboard first against the Colts three zero. Also,
(26:09):
Colts cornerback Sauce Garner limped to the locker room with
the lower left leg injury.
Speaker 9 (26:13):
No other update.
Speaker 11 (26:14):
Texans running back Witty Marks questionable to return with a
foot injury. Devon a Chan thank you for my fantasy team.
In the end zone, they are up on the Saint
seven zero. Also, Jets, Falcons scoreless, Cardinals and Buccaneers. Is
the only team or in the only game right now
in the second quarter and they are scoreless, while the
Rams quickly hit a touchdown.
Speaker 9 (26:32):
Panthers responded, so right now.
Speaker 11 (26:34):
It is a tie game in Carolina with the Rams
of the Panthers tied at seven a piece.
Speaker 9 (26:38):
A little just NFL news for you.
Speaker 11 (26:40):
The Lakers are gonna be without Lebron James tonight and
without Marcus Smart Lebron James's foot management because it's back
to back apparently they're taking on the Pelicans. And also
Klay Thompson named his boats Stallion after his girlfriend.
Speaker 9 (26:50):
Okay, back to you.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
Guys, all right, monsie, thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Going to be a very busy day around the National
Football League, that is for sure. Once again we're in
the Fox Sports radio studios.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Okay. By the way, Shandor.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
Sanders his second opportunity to start, and again a couple
of big plays against the Raiders. It was the Raiders
forty nine ers obviously a different level, off to a
good start right now, five to seven, forty four yards,
and it seems like the Browns are gonna give him
a chance, like, we're gonna see what Shador Sanders are
gonna do on a three and eight Browns team that
has an outstanding defense, and just see if he can
(27:24):
generate some offense. Obviously, Dylan Gabriel didn't get much offense going,
and so Shador is going to get that opportunity.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
I'm happy for the kid. I want to see what
he can do.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
I always like to see when somebody is in a
position where people are against you for whatever reason.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
That they may have, and you prove them wrong.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
I know Shdor Sanders has plenty of believe in himself
that he can get the job done. He just got
to get everybody on the same page. Because as a quarterback,
you got to be able to inspire those around you.
You got to get those offensive linemen to hold block
a little bit longer. You got to get those receivers
they give a little more effort to make a play
(28:05):
those That's what great quarterbacks do. They can they can
extend players to the match of their abilities. And we'll
see if a young rookie like Shadora Sanders can get
that out of the Browns.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
Well, first of all, you gotta have guys that want
to do that. That all sounds good, and it's all good.
It's all good sports pillowsal but you gotta have guys
want to do that. Yeah, they already know they have
to do that. He makes a great lob throw right
there to complete four first.
Speaker 1 (28:28):
Actually it was better than that because he got hit
right right. Is he through the ball. He's a tough kid.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
He's got He got hit all through college because he
runs backwards a lot, which is something I always knocked.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Everybody knows Chador's my guy.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
Love the kid, love coach Prime, love the family, love
just what they stand for and how and how this
young man's been raised.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
He gets his arm hit. Yeah, he also get honoring.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
But it actually worked out because the ball was underthrown
and the receiver was in front.
Speaker 10 (28:49):
Of the day.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
And that's who needs to be the number one. I'd
get rid of Jared Judy just a quick slide bar.
I'd get rid of Jared Judy this off season. Make
Isaiah Bond my number one guy, because Isaiah Bond, like
you said, you gotta want to you gotta want to
do it. You can't make any body do anything. I've
learned through trialser trip Relation's life with through therapy. You
can only control two things, st Eve, in your life,
how you show up and how you react.
Speaker 10 (29:06):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
You can't control nothing else. You can't do nothing else.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
Did you guys say Matt Stafford's gonna be the MVP
this year?
Speaker 1 (29:12):
I did?
Speaker 10 (29:12):
Did?
Speaker 1 (29:12):
He was watching? He threw a pick six? There it is,
He's a runaway m V He should stop.
Speaker 8 (29:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (29:21):
I think I think Drake may should send this show
like half of his paycheck.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Okay, So once again, and by the way, last night
I had to make my LA TV picks for the
Rams game, would you and the Chargers game? And I said,
do I even have to mention the Rams? I mean
they're gonna absolutely destroy Carolina? And uh, you know the
Chargers have a bye week taken on the Raiders.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
That was my end of my tw Why would you think.
Speaker 3 (29:44):
They were going to destroy Carolina? Carolina hasn't been because
has been?
Speaker 6 (29:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
This was the Rams run a still game winning streak
where they were winning by an average of over twenty
points per game West Coast.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
How many times Rams are a ten point favorite going
across the country?
Speaker 1 (29:57):
Thank you? How many times do we mention this? And
you thought they were going to destroy you.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
On their opening drive before I opened my mouth, they
went right down the field and.
Speaker 4 (30:05):
Scored, and then you started talking. And look what happens since.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
All right, fourteen to seven Panthers after the Big six
have taken the lead over the Rams.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Wow. Wow, wow wow.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Okay, let's see here, your Dolphins are still up seven.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Nothing right now, Colts?
Speaker 2 (30:21):
All right, let's get back to the Colts for second,
right now, first quarter and they got nothing going offensively
in this game against the Texans. This is what we
talked about. You know, how good is the Colts offense.
You have the number one running back in the league.
And by the way, Jonathan Taylor has decent stats. Four
carries for twenty three yards. But you're ready for these stats.
Daniel Jones first quarter against this Texans defense. One of
(30:42):
four for two yards. They have negative four net yards
passing against that Texans offense. By the way, CJ. Stroud
off to a good start six to ten eighty two
yards to start this game. But right now the Texans
have completely shut down the passing attack of the Colts
and Daniel is going to take a beating.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
Today absolutely, just like just like Josh ippaturnover Allen did
a few weeks ago.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
But watch this play right here.
Speaker 4 (31:07):
Will Anderson.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
I remember sitting in this studio when that draft was
coming up, man, and thought he should have went number
one overall. I get it, and then they got their court,
But he should have went number one overall. This guy
is a menace and he went over yeah, and b
Wise my guy, and b Whise my guy. But this
right right, But I just I just thought he was
the best player in the draft. I'm the I'm the
(31:29):
type of GM GM. I know what you need number
one overall, guys, you take the best player in the
draft and you figure the rest out as the draft
goes on.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
You don't take what you think you might need one position.
Speaker 3 (31:41):
You take the best player football player in the draft. Anyway,
Daniel Jones against this defense, they are going to struggle today.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
This defense is what coach, what coach.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
DeMarco has done with this defense, man and with this team.
As they believe, like you talk about body lame, you
know me, I'm a big body language guy.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
They believe that. Listen, man, just give it, just hold
give us seventeen points. Will win today. They can go
to the offense and go and man, look, give us
seventeen twenty points. Game over. You give us seventeen twenty points,
will win the game. Today.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
They're only giving up like fifteen sixteen points a Sunday.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
So if you just give us two touchdowns and a
field goal, we got this, man, because you got we'll get.
Matter of fact, we'll score one for you. We'll win
twenty four to ten. Like that's the type of defense
they have. It there, it is right there, sixteen point
five first, two hundred and sixty four all yards per
game first, and yards per passing yards.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
One seventy two first. So Daniel Jones, good luck today.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Yeah, he's gonna have. Let me ask you this about
the draft. If you could redo the twenty seventeen draft,
would you take Miles Garrett or Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 4 (32:38):
Miles Garrett, right.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
Yeah, Miles get because what with Cleveland had to done
with Patrick Mahomes, he would have got. No way, Let's
not do that because because Andy Reid will okay, matter.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
Of fact, twenty seventeenth draft right there was the first
making the draft. Let me obviously he's on his way
to the Hall of Fame. But you have Patrick.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
Let me reframe my question or my answer, you take
Patrick Mahomes if Cleveland is somehow situated in Kansas City
and Andy Reid is the head coach. But that wasn't
the case. So no, you still take the best player.
And it's showing he is still he might still be
the best player in the league today.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
It's hard to argue. It's hard like he's at least
when the NFL does their one hundred players in.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
The offseason where they talk to the players and they
all vote, I guarantee he's gonna finish like top three.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
We had Adam kaplan on in leading up to the season.
He said he was in Browns camp because I want
to tell you some man. I want to tell you
something because I've seen Miles Garrett a lot. The Miles
Garrett I just saw is literally gone next level, Like
he is literally un blockaball and he nailed it. Like
(33:49):
Miles Garrett has had a Hall of Fame career, four
time first Team All Pro, but this year, I.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
Mean, I remember the update where Montsey announced that he
had got his dual. Yep, it's as soon as she
was done. We both and like Unison on live air
said defensive Player of the year. Oh yeah, and he's
gonna win it.
Speaker 6 (34:07):
Goween.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
I can't wait to see the final votes.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
If there's a journalist out there, we're to vote that
gives it to that gives a first place vote to
somebody else for Defensive Player of the Year.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
Okay, the record is twenty two and a half. Set,
that's eighteen, all right, So I'm gonna give you an
over of counting today's six games left, twenty five over over,
he's gonna have more than twenty five.
Speaker 10 (34:31):
I got.
Speaker 3 (34:34):
Five sacks, twenty six and a half. He's gonna have
more sex.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
But the over under for Miles Garrett at twenty five,
he has eighteen going into the day, including today's six
games lost.
Speaker 5 (34:42):
What's the record twenty three. He's gonna go way over,
way over twenty five. Yeah, he's gonna be like twenty six.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
Wow, okay, because he'll have a game.
Speaker 3 (34:51):
He'll have he's got another like three SAT game in him, right, Okay,
so that's twenty one.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
Then he's probably got another two SAT game in him.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
Okay, Now we're twenty three, and then towards the end
of the year, playing any bad teams or any quarterbacks
that can't mold or a backup quarterback. Matter of fact,
the number now eighteen eighteen backup quarterbacks had to start
in the twenty twenty five season. Guys, that is bananas.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
All right, we continue on here with the seven games
we got going on, rolling into second quarters around the
National Football League.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
This is end Zone Radio.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
Had the running back first of ten, Miami from the
Saints thirty yard line.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
A Champs sweep to the right.
Speaker 6 (35:30):
Side along the quarter and he's down running touchdown Miami.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
That's Fox Sports nine forty Dolphins Radio network. Dolphins with
a ten to nothing lead right now, start of the
second quarter against the New Orleans Saints.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
All right, with this is end Zone Radio. Steve Harbin
and VJ. Husky with you. We're in the Fox Sports
Radio studios.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
Quick rundown of the score bar right now, Brown's lead
or forty nine Ers lead the Brown seven nothing.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
How about this?
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Jags up fifteen to three over the Titans. Texans still
lead the Colts three nothing, but the Colts are in
the red zone right now. As we mentioned, Dolphins over
the Saints ten nothing. Jets have an early seven to
nothing laid over the hapless Falcons. Buccaneers struggling to get
offense going, but lead the Cardinals three nothing and the
Rams Panthers fourteen all. As once again Matthew Stafford has
(36:20):
hooked up with Devonte Adams. That is Devonte adams second
touchdown of the day, his fourteenth of the season. That
is by far the biggest total in the National Football League.
And we were just talking about they're all red zone.
It's all red zone touchdown. But it's beautiful though.
Speaker 3 (36:37):
It's beautiful football because and both said during the commercial
break that he was at Tropical Rainforest Cafe when the
news broken thoughts to himself, Wow, this might be the
best free agent signing of the all season.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
And you're in Bo's right.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
It was easily easily the best, easily what they needed,
exactly what they needed. They started all tough, excuse me,
beat up at the skilled position last year, and now
you got a guy like this man that just truly, truly,
truly wanted to get out of the Raiders. I remember
doing a show bow where I mentioned the receiver right
the Netflix special where when he was on the beach like, man,
(37:13):
I gotta get out of here before I get killed.
I said, right there, dude, there by the trade they're lone,
They're traded him.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
He's gone. He wants out of there.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
It got worse for him though he went to the Jets.
That's right, it really got out. He needed a rec
I said. It reminds me so much when Randy Moss
left Oakland to get to New England and Tom Brady.
Speaker 3 (37:30):
You remember he walked off the field against the Redskins.
Now they come in with the Redskins and everybody said
it's over for Randy Moss.
Speaker 5 (37:36):
I think part of it, too, is I don't think
people really realized how ineffective Cooper Cup was. His last
couple of years in Los Angeles, Cooper.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
Cup look.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
Had one of the five best seasons ever by a
wide receiver in the history and national the rest of
his career he was either hurt harder became to it.
Speaker 6 (37:52):
We had.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
He was a one year wonder and it was one
of the greatest years ever, Triple Ground of receiving Offensive
Player of the Year, Super Bowl MVP, did it all
in one year. I mean, you talk about upgrade, you're
absolutely right. DeVante Adams is the major upgrade over Cooper Cup.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
All right, So a lot of things going on.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
I know, as my man toolcause I got to mention
the bad stuff. We get a turnover to it turns around,
tries to look for Jaylen Waddle down the left sideline,
double coverage interception in the end zone, So the Saints
get the ball right back. Come on, come on, who
she gotta do me better than Hey? Look, you know
the Dolphins are not at the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (38:26):
Yet, right?
Speaker 10 (38:27):
You know that?
Speaker 5 (38:28):
Right?
Speaker 1 (38:28):
Well, no they're not. I mean, if they win their
last seven in a row, okay, okay, seven, but I
feel just say it's not seven in a row, all.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
Right, sorry, six in a row. If they win their
last six in a row and go ten and seven,
could they sneak in?
Speaker 11 (38:40):
See?
Speaker 1 (38:41):
This is the thing about the Chiefs, guys.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
You know the Chiefs are sitting there at six and six,
and Patrick Mahomes says, well, we have to win our
last five games. Well that's a given. But not only
do they have to win their last five games, they
still need help.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
By four teams in front of them that they all lost,
they lost. They not only have to.
Speaker 1 (38:59):
Win all five, they need help.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
They need teams to lose like the history right, yeah,
So I mean the reality is, you know, look at
I had the chief of the guy. I had the
Broncos winning the AFC West. They're well on their way
to doing that. I have the Chiefs sneaking in as
a wild card. But you if you told me before
the season they be sitting at six and six?
Speaker 1 (39:22):
Are you?
Speaker 4 (39:23):
Are you done with the Chiefs one night I need.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
As far as this year is yes, Well you already
don't think Pat Mahos will ever play in another Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (39:31):
I'm on the record of seat alright, So we got
that well. By the way, I said that the day
after the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
Right now, I'm with you.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
It was I said, I mean that beat down by
the Eagles. But I will say this, when I look
at this Chiefs right team. Right now, I'm gonna go.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
To Andy Reid.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
Andy Reid has cementing himself with the old time e
league coaches in the history of the National Football LAFE.
But when he is sitting there, like at halftime after
another down first half and they're interviewing him, he just
looks like a guy that is saying it's about time
to retirement. Oh yeah, I mean you know that Andy
and I are the same age. He's exactly the same
(40:05):
age as me and he's sitting there. Basically he looks
tired because remember this was last year, was that incredible
year where they were winning every single score game, eleven
to zero in one score games. And this year they're
losing close games, games that they would have won in
the past, the games that Mahomes would have pulled out.
Homes are four touchdowns against the Cowboys. He's still playing
(40:27):
good football. But what's missing is whatever that magic was
where somehow they steal a game or they come back
to win a game late.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
It's just not happening this year. So, like I said,
they're gonna have to have a lot of help to
get to the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
Keep it here, This is End Zone Radio, all right,
rolling along here Week thirteen, Sunday around the National Football
l We are at seven games going on right now.
We're in the Fox Sports Radio studios. All right, we're
gonna get back to all the action. But coming up
later we got a huge game is the Vikings are
on the road against the Seatle Seahawks. And the man
(41:01):
that will be part of the call, well, he's simply
the best of the best. Our good friend Greg Olsen
is joining us once again. Greg is always a great
to have you here on Fox Sports Radio. I'm going
to cut to the chase right now, because obviously one
of the big storylines in this game is the fact
that Sam Donald left the Vikings.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
They handed the ball to JJ McCarthy. He ends up
in Seattle.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
They're sitting at eight and three right now, and save
that meltdown performance against the Rams, he has played some
pretty good football.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
So what's the buzz right now.
Speaker 2 (41:30):
Did the Vikings make a mistake in your opinion on
not keeping Sam Donald? And why is it the Vikings
offense has struggled so far with JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 10 (41:43):
Yeah, well, that's a million dollar question. I think that's
what Kevin O'Connell and the Vikings organization and the offensive
staff especially is still trying to kind of work through.
And really the reality is they have not been nearly
as good. It's not just last year's version of the
Minnesota Vikings offense. They haven't been as good as the
offense that's been, you know, since Kevin O'Connell took the
(42:03):
job and became the head coach, you know, years back,
and it's been something they've always been able to hang
their hat on, especially the passing game. They've been, you know,
a top five passing team and pretty much every season
under Kevin O'Connell, and this year, you know, they're at
the bottom of the league. So obviously there's a lot
of you know, storylines and questions are going to dive
into a lot of them.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
Today.
Speaker 10 (42:21):
The departure of not only you know, Sam Darnold, but
also Daniel Jones was in the building, and obviously from
all reports it seemed like they tried to re sign
Daniel at least and he obviously made the determination to
go to the Colton compete for the job there, which
certainly worked out. So the quarterback storyline is obviously at
the center of today and the Max Brosmer, the young
(42:42):
rookie he's now getting his first career start at arguably
one of the best defenses in football and certainly one
of the more difficult places to play in the league
in Seattle.
Speaker 1 (42:52):
Greg. Always a pleasure talking to you. Vija Husky here man.
Speaker 3 (42:54):
I love your work on Fox the what you call
games man, you do a tremendous job, as I call
a commentator. So let's flip to the other side with
the Seattle Seahawks. I mean, I think I don't know
if we saw this coming. I know they got Sam Donald.
Donald gets a big hundred million dollar deal, But this defense,
Greg is just it's just monstrous. Man. These guys they're physical,
they they wrap up, they're fundamentally sound. How how far
(43:16):
can you really see the Seattle team going in the
playoffs and making some noise in the NFC?
Speaker 10 (43:23):
Oh, I could see them, you know, in my mind
right now, it's a two horse race at the top
of the NFC, certainly between the Seahawks and the Rams.
And we called that game two weeks ago where the
Rams pulled that game off despite the four turnovers by Seattle,
and you know, they still, despite all of the struggles
offensively on the road, they still had a sixty yard
field goal at the buzzer to win the game that
(43:46):
you know, obviously they missed. So they were right there
in that game despite the turnovers. So I think the
Rams and Seahawks have really established themselves as the two
top teams certainly in the NFC, if not the league.
And a big reason is obviously, you know, we talk
about samld but this defense Mike McDonald has built here
in Seattle. They're fast, they're young, they're aggressive, they're dominant
at the line of scrimmage. They don't require a lot
(44:08):
of guys at are near the box. They don't require
a lot of guys at or near the line of scrimmage.
It allows them to keep their coverage units intact. It
allows them to almost, you know, play like they have
an extra man and their ability to affect the quarterback.
And then we can go on and on about just
the style of play and the defense that Mike McDonald
has built here in Seattle, and it's certainly a big
part of their success. And you know, in playoff football,
(44:32):
defense carries a lot larger of a responsibility for advancing
to the next round than wins and losses necessarily in
the regular season. And I think that's a big advantage
that Seattle has as the postseason approaches.
Speaker 2 (44:44):
All Right, I want to get back to Kevin O'Connor
for a second, because you know, he's been acknowledged a.
Speaker 1 (44:48):
Great play caller, a real guru to these quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
You know, you got Kirk Cousins to raise his game
obviously last year with Sam Darnold, but it's not worked
so far with JJ McCarty.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
What's missing here?
Speaker 2 (45:01):
I mean I I was a big fan of JJ
McCarthy coming out of Michigan and a lot of people said, well,
he didn't throw the ball that much. I go, yeah,
but when he needed to make plays he did for
the Wolverines and helping him win a national championship. And
he carries himself Greg, you know, he's he seems to
have that you know, strut like he's good, but he's
just not getting results on the field.
Speaker 1 (45:22):
What is missing here? How much is that on O'Connell.
How much is that on on McCarthy.
Speaker 10 (45:29):
Well, certainly anytime a young quarterback struggles, it's a shared responsibility.
I think so often we've seen this now over the
last couple of seasons. You know, quarterbacks that at their
first stop fresh out of collegist does the guys that
were drafted at or near the top of the of
the draft, you know that if they don't work out
in their original stop, they're immediately cast off as being
bust and failures. And then we see guys go to
(45:50):
New you know, go to New Scots and you know
Sam Darnold being a great example, and Baker Mayfield, and
you know, you can go on and on. They get
a second opportunity in the right setting, and all of
a sudden they flirt. So it's certainly fit, it's certainly
individual player. I think it's like anything, it's a shared
responsibility between the team that drafts a young quarterback and
their ability to surround them and develop them with what
(46:10):
they need. And also a lot of it's on the
young player. They've got to continue to get coach. They
got to continue to take that coaching and improve and
work on their shortcomings. As far as McCarthy coming out,
I think he shows tremendous competitive spirit. I think he's tough.
I think he plays hard. I think he's got a
big arm. He could really make a lot of big throws.
It's hard to evaluate his college, you know, as much
as he won, which is certainly the ultimate, you know,
(46:34):
kind of measuring stick. He won a lot of games
at Michigan, but it was low volume passing. Like you said,
it was only throwing. We have to it is ball controls,
you know a lot of things that really has become
a lot of NFL style, you know, football in today's
day and age. But as far as an evaluation process,
you didn't see high value. You didn't see thrown in
a lot of adverse situations. You didn't see a lot
of passing when you're behind two scores, and you know,
(46:56):
third and long and all the really tough spots that
we measurefl quarterbacks by their ability to operate in those situations.
So I think it's a difficult evaluation. I don't think
by any means Minnesota's given up on them, but you know,
I think we're going to find out a lot about
what this offense looks like today. Max Brosmerk, of course,
a young, unproven guy, not even drafted, but you know,
(47:17):
from talking to everyone around Minnesota and talking around the building,
you know they have a lot of confidence in his
ability to operate the system, play with anticipation, make some
of the throws in the passing game that they haven't
been hitting over the last couple of weeks in their struggle.
So you know, we'll get a good look at a
different quarterback operating this here in a couple hours.
Speaker 3 (47:35):
You've mentioned in the rams as them being one two
with Seattle, and I'm kind of there with you. I
want to throw two other teams at you and just
let you pick a team and just do what you
what's your best at breaking down Football for is Eagles Bears.
We watched that game on Friday night. The Bears are
nine and three. The great Bill Parcels once says, you
are what your record says you are. Get all the
(47:57):
sports talk variables out of it. You are what your
record says you are. The Bears Eagles hot. How do
you look at those other two teams as compared to
Seattle what you're calling today in the RAMS, So you
think are right there as the top team in the league.
Speaker 10 (48:10):
Yeah, I mean they're certainly, you know, they're certainly in
the playoff picture. And what we've what we've learned over
the years in the NFL, Right, it's not a best
of five series, it's not a best of seven. You
don't have a you don't have a bad night and
to get to wake up the next day and walk
out there and do it again. So, you know, are
those teams certainly able to win any week, any given time,
especially in playoff football? Absolutely? I think the jobs you know,
(48:32):
certainly in Chicago, the job that Ben Johnson has done
turning that thing around as quickly as he has. The
defense has continued to improve. That was their week link
early in the year. But Dennis Allen's been doing this
at a high level for a long time as both
a defensive coordinator and of course a head coach, and
he has them playing better. And you know, Ben Johnson's
in the small kind of handful of candidates for Coach
(48:53):
of the Year, and talking about Kayleb Williams, there's just
so many things to like about Chicago. And yes, I
mean to say they couldn't beat Seattle or the Rams
on any given playoff day, I mean, that's certainly not
out of the question. You know, I do think that
as of right now, the Rams in Seattle are better
teams overall. I think they're deeper, I think they're more balanced.
(49:14):
I think, you know, from that standpoint. But yeah, I
don't think the gap is so large that you just
couldn't imagine a situation of them losing, you know, I
think the NFC is probably a deeper playoff race right
now than maybe the AFC, especially with some of the
usual suspects and the star quarterbacks kind of on the
outside looking in. I think the AFC is kind of
(49:34):
up for grabs to whoever wants to take it. But
the NFC, and then of course Philadelphia they're having their
struggles offensively, but that's still a wildly talented roster, that right.
You know, we just saw them a year ago go
on a playoff run and ultimately won the Super Bowl,
so you can never discount.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
That, right well, Greg, I tell you my best time
in the year, final third of the NFL regular season.
We'll be watching later today Vikings at the Seahawks, the
great Greg Olsen. Greg, we always appreciate that time. Thank you,
thank you so much. Enjoy the game today.
Speaker 10 (50:02):
I appreciate you guys.
Speaker 1 (50:03):
Thanks thanks Greg. That's Greg Olsen. Join us right there.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
No one does it any bed dr all right now,
by the way, the Rams have got a second and
goal at the Carolina three yard line, Panthers leading this
game seventeen to fourteen, and how about your doors, Sanders go,
how about this? Not only through a touchdown pass to
uh seemingly tie the game, but the Browns said, forget
the time, We're going to go for a two point conversions.
Speaker 1 (50:26):
They had Judkins in the wildcat again.
Speaker 2 (50:29):
I love this wildcat with Judkins, and he just ran
straight ahead and we got into the end zone.
Speaker 1 (50:35):
So the Browns have taken an eight seven lead over
the forty nine ers.
Speaker 4 (50:39):
Let's go, let's going now? Is it just the Raiders
this week? I just listen. I'll be honest. I want them.
Speaker 3 (50:44):
I want your door to in the Browns to win
this game so bad today because I just want to
hear what is it now?
Speaker 2 (50:49):
I do?
Speaker 1 (50:50):
I want to hear what it is? Last week it
was yes, yes, everybody was saying that.
Speaker 3 (50:56):
Okay, everybody, and if we're not gonna be honest about
it and then we're not wants No, no.
Speaker 1 (51:00):
No, well maybe maybe people you were talking saying that.
People everywhere, not people I was talking to, what I
was seeing, what I was reading.
Speaker 2 (51:08):
There was there was a headline you yourself, It's and
one of the major you know, sports things that day
it says Sanders shines in Brown's victory over the Raiders.
That was the headline whatever that it says Sanders shines.
Speaker 4 (51:28):
Yeah, we're not We're not going to act like that.
Speaker 1 (51:31):
People.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
You know, people are negative. You're listening for the negative.
We're all negative.
Speaker 4 (51:38):
After that game, there was plenty of positive because.
Speaker 2 (51:40):
I'm talking about he was the first guy of Brown
quarterback and the years from right to win his first game.
Speaker 4 (51:48):
Yeah, no, no, no, I saw it all, but I
saw plenty of both, is what I'm saying. I'm not
looking for.
Speaker 1 (51:53):
So you want to eliminate all the doubters, you will
never eliminate all the doubts.
Speaker 3 (51:56):
I eliminate him, I said, I just want to hear
what what will be the reason why they You know
what I'm saying that you're not kidding.
Speaker 5 (52:02):
You can't read a positive sugar tweet? That's rolling shirt?
Speaker 10 (52:04):
What time?
Speaker 5 (52:05):
This says? Hell of a read in past twelve? Keep
going clock emoji?
Speaker 1 (52:10):
Yeah, okay, right now, he's eight of eleven. I guess,
I guess I wish you guys lebron.
Speaker 2 (52:18):
Okay, okay, So again his numbers are great, eight of eleven,
ninety six yards in the score. Here's the one stat that,
again the NFL is a concern. He took one sack
for a thirteen yard loss. You cannot take double ditches loss.
I mean, I know, honey, you still got to learn
to get rid of the ball. You can't take thirteen
(52:39):
yard sacks. That's the only knock on shoe or side.
No one's questioning whether he's an accurate passer. No one's
questioning can he you know, can he guide a team.
You just can't take those negative plays. All right, well,
right now, it's all good for the Browns eight seven
over the forty nine.
Speaker 4 (52:53):
Texas, ten to six lead man Texas going to score
taking all.
Speaker 1 (52:56):
Right, well again the Colts. We knew going in this game.
Speaker 2 (52:59):
We're going to strike to score against the number one
defense in the National Football a al right, seven games
were approaching halftimes around the National Football League.
Speaker 1 (53:07):
We got every angle covered. This is end Zone Radio.
Third down and goal for the two play Act with
Trake Topia.
Speaker 2 (53:14):
Til Mayfield thirds.
Speaker 1 (53:15):
With a cockball touchdown to an eligible receiver.
Speaker 12 (53:19):
Still trusted Warps, trusted Warps, a little strict, pavery.
Speaker 1 (53:24):
That's ninety eight Rock Buccaneers Radio Network.
Speaker 2 (53:26):
Buccaneers with a ten to three halftime lead against the
Arizona Cardinals. This is end Zone Radio. We're in the
Fox Sports Radio studios. Steve Harbin VJ Husky with you.
Big game for the Bucks. Obviously they need to start
winning again. Very simple. So far in this game, Mayfield
is eleven to fifteen, one hundred and seventeen yards and score,
(53:46):
so very solid numbers for him. Okay, Jacoby Brissett still
the quarterback at Arizona. Have we seen the last of
Kyler Murray as the quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals?
Speaker 1 (53:56):
And is there a market for Kyler mud is a mark?
Speaker 3 (53:59):
Yes, yes, because you know my comeback question as always,
are there thirty two really good or great starting quarterbacks?
The answers no, So don't tell me Kylin Murray won't
have a market. Guys sit around and look at film
and they go, you know what, I could work with him.
Every coordinator sees one guy that they think they can change.
(54:22):
There's someone out there that looks Atkyler Murray go yeah,
they just weren't using them right, Arizona.
Speaker 4 (54:27):
They just weren't protecting them. They weren't covering them right.
Speaker 1 (54:29):
They weren't.
Speaker 4 (54:29):
They weren't doing them right.
Speaker 10 (54:31):
There.
Speaker 3 (54:31):
I could do something different with them. So, yes, there's
a market. Here's your question. It probably should be. But
I called for this last off season, all season of
twenty twenty four. Going into that year, I thought they
should have moved on. Not because he's not good, it
just it just didn't seem to work. They tried the
Cliff Kingsbury thing. Yeah right, it just didn't seem It
just didn't seem to work.
Speaker 2 (54:49):
He was a legitimate pro bowler. None of that ultimate
two years he was a legitimate pro bowler. Yeah, I
mean understand how this works around the national football Well
always talk about going into the draft.
Speaker 1 (55:01):
Every team has their own draft board.
Speaker 2 (55:03):
They hide it, you know, and everything else, but they
are literally rating every single player, yep.
Speaker 1 (55:08):
And they never throw those boards away ever.
Speaker 2 (55:11):
And so you have a guy that you thought was
like way up there and then all of a sudden
he's available. He's failed somewhere else, but in your mind,
I'm still looking at that draft board, He's still my
number one guy.
Speaker 1 (55:25):
It happens all the time. Does it always work?
Speaker 5 (55:27):
Though?
Speaker 1 (55:27):
Sometimes it does?
Speaker 2 (55:29):
But yeah, I agree with the Kyler Murray will get
an opportunity right where right? Okay, So, Dolphins leading the
Saints by a score of thirteen nothing. One of the
stories of this is Tyler Shuck. As you know, you
got a lot of hype, you know, the Saints young quarterback,
Well not so young. He's like a thirty five year
old rookie. He is struggling against this Miami defense today
(55:53):
seven or twelve, just forty three yards in the air.
He has thrown an interception of this game two is
not much better better six and twelve eighty seven yards
and a score. A chan though, is having a game
twelve garys ninety yards rushing a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (56:09):
Of this game.
Speaker 2 (56:11):
Again, VJ has not given up on his beloved Dolphins
to win their last six in a row and get
right back into.
Speaker 1 (56:17):
Have you seen the schedule of the playoffs? Get well again?
I'm not this works away?
Speaker 2 (56:22):
How did I open the show today? I don't want
to hear like, well, who have they beaten? Who is
anybody beaten?
Speaker 3 (56:28):
Every game is the same, every game, but record wise,
they play a bunch of bad teams down the stretch,
and they're a bad team, and you'd mentioned it not
Actually they're not a bad team.
Speaker 1 (56:37):
They're much better since they fired.
Speaker 2 (56:38):
But other teams are looking at the Dolphins on their
schedule saying, well, there's the game we're gonna win.
Speaker 1 (56:43):
Okay, well show me those clips and now I believe that.
Speaker 3 (56:45):
But they once they got rid of Greer, which I've
been I've been pomp on for five years, they finally
fired him, fired the VP and personnel people, and cleared
up that front office and made the trades and got
some of the cancers out of the locker room. This
team is playing much better. Their defense has moved six
spots as far as the ranking. They have the number
one tackler in the NFL in Brooks and he just
got an interception. So they are playing way way better
(57:08):
in above their heads. Look what they did the Buffalo
a few weeks ago. Let's not forget about the Buffalo
Bills when Josh Allen scored six touchdowns and Buffalo was back.
Like you said, with the Chiefs, right, every time the
Chiefs win the big game, chee's a back. Josh Angos
scored six touchdowns. Oh dude, the Bills are back. Dolphins
kick that ass like candidates. Okay, I love your loyalty.
You know I've said that many times.
Speaker 1 (57:29):
It is loyalty. They're four and seven. You are who
you are.
Speaker 2 (57:32):
You have said that ry they are and be five
and seventeamill be five is outside.
Speaker 3 (57:38):
Look the Jets they will be six if they actually
get into the playoff picture.
Speaker 1 (57:43):
Give me a call. All right.
Speaker 2 (57:45):
So going back to things, by the way, how about
those four games we had the three on things and
the fighter of the game.
Speaker 1 (57:51):
I mean, you're not going to beat those games.
Speaker 2 (57:53):
No, four great games well games, and again the Ravens.
We haven't gotten as much into that Joe Burrow come back.
And it wasn't like Joe was great. He was and
he was barely fifty percent passing in that game, right,
But the Ravens were just completely inept against one of
the worst defenses in the entire National Football League. So
(58:14):
where are we with Lamar Jackson three straight games, no
touchdown passes, no rushing touchdowns, first time in his career.
Speaker 1 (58:21):
Is he hurt? Yes? Is he just not right? All right?
When you watch him take off? Let's get right. When
you watch him take off, does that Lamar Jackson to you?
Speaker 2 (58:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (58:29):
Does that?
Speaker 1 (58:30):
Now?
Speaker 3 (58:30):
He had to one scramble for thirteen yards on third
and twelve to the left side, right, that was about
and then we've seen Lamar Jackson cut back on that
corner our spin off that he gets the first down
and trot's out of bound.
Speaker 1 (58:41):
That is not Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 3 (58:44):
He's been banged up and bow and I was on
we were on record leading into that bye week. Remember,
but when you read the clip from John Harball that
the expectation was for them to return, and I said, well,
hold up, did he say he's coming back.
Speaker 6 (58:57):
Art.
Speaker 3 (58:57):
I always thought that Thursday night game against the Dolphins
was a dangerous game for him, because if they go
out and he looks good, they're gonna keep playing him,
I said, out as sad, But but said, listen, you sat.
Speaker 2 (59:08):
One five, you win five in a row, suddenly you're
tied for the division lead, but obviously not looking great. Right.
It wasn't like the Ravens, no one with Sugarnaut that
we've seen over the last several years, nothing close to that.
Speaker 1 (59:21):
But they were winning, and so what are your alternatives? Well,
now at six and six, you.
Speaker 4 (59:27):
Gotta keep playing him. You got to keep playing him now?
Speaker 1 (59:30):
Or is he going to continue to play him right now?
But all these all.
Speaker 3 (59:33):
Right, but they can still win the division. See that's
the thing. By the ball, they're probably gonna still win
his division. Also quick sidebar, I'm still in it for
Pittsburgh to finish on the fire Hunter, you see that, right, Well,
I'm right there, I'm.
Speaker 1 (59:44):
Right there, Steve. I'm telling you right now, Mike Tomlins's
not losing seasons.
Speaker 2 (59:50):
They will be nine and eight. You can cannot money
in the bank. You're not gonna be able to blame
Aaron Rodgers is.
Speaker 1 (59:57):
Not playing great obviously, but is what it is right now.
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
By the way, speaking of the Steelers, they're going to
be at home leader this afternoon against the Bills. That
is another team that Look, I picked the Bills to
win the Super Bowl this year. That was my team,
that Bills over the Eagles in the Super Bowl. I
am still picking the Bills to be in the Super Bowl.
I am still picking the Bills to be in the
(01:00:22):
Super Bowl. I had the Bills beating the Broncos in
the AFC Championship Game before the season.
Speaker 1 (01:00:28):
I am going to stick with that prediction again. Week
to week.
Speaker 2 (01:00:32):
The Bills have had some good games, they've had some
real stinkers. But they're on the road today as a
favorite against the Steelers. This is a musk game for
the Bills to prove to me, for me to stay
on the Bills bandwagon, that somehow, some way they will
figure this all thing out, because that's going to be
the question, as you know, VJ.
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
Once we get to the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:00:54):
The teams that have been there, whether it's the Bills
or the Ravens or the Chiefs, teams that have been
there going again teams like the Patriots.
Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
I mean, are the Colts?
Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
I mean, how are these teams that have not been
in the playoffs gonna fare going against teams with that experience?
Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
If you got a Bears.
Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
Eagles rematch in a postseason game, how is that gonna fare?
That's the big question mark. So I'm gonna lean to
those that have the experience. Look, Josh Allen's postseason record
minus Kansas City is glowing. He wins postseason games as
long as he doesn't play the Chiefs. I think that
will continue this year.
Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
I taught this is almost like such a great segue
because I just mentioned this two nights ago on Black
Friday Night, when I was asked who is the runaway
favorite video? Who you got in the AFC? And it's
a hard question because ten and two Patriots? Do you
trust Drake May? You have the nine to two Broncos?
Do you trust Bo Nicks? You have the Colts at
(01:01:54):
eight and three? Do you trust Daniel Jones? The top
three teams in the AFC, they all have one question
mark in the postseason, and it's the question mark you
don't want is do you trust that quarterback at that moment? Yes,
the team's played well, but we know in the postseason
it means the regular season means nothing. In quarterbacks, pressure
(01:02:18):
bust pipes and it makes diamonds. They get either bust
of pipe or make a diamond. Which one you gonna be.
You're gonna be a busted pipe, which is okay because
if Drake May goes into a playoff game and spits
upon us, dude, this is first play. It's different. It's
not the same, guys. It's different when you're playing in
the postseason. So even if you go down, who has
the most experienced at the quarterback position? The Stellers quarterback
(01:02:39):
at six and five cent in the four seed right now,
and the Charges with Justin Herbert sitting a seven and four.
Those are the two quarterbacks that have playoff experience of
the teams all in front of them.
Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
Again, if the Chiefs don't make the playoffs, you don't
want to have to play one five man.
Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
If you eliminate the Kansas City Chiefs on the AFC
side in the playoffs, which quarterback has the best track record?
And the answer is Josh Allen. He lost four times
to the Chiefs. You throw those four games out. He
seems to beat everybody else. So that's why I still
lean to the Bills. I'm counting that because we talked
about it. Jeezs are in trouble, folks. They'd have to
(01:03:18):
win five in a row, and they need help because
they have four teams that are in front of them.
Speaker 1 (01:03:22):
They lose a tie break because they lose head to
head to them.
Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
I'll say this if Josh, if you're saying, if he
doesn't have to play Mahomes, he's good.
Speaker 4 (01:03:30):
But we let's make a deal right now.
Speaker 3 (01:03:32):
If Josh Allen gets into playoffs and he doesn't have
to play Mahomes and loses to much and loses, can
we close.
Speaker 4 (01:03:39):
The door Josh because he didn't have to play Mahomes.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
Well, you don't have to close the door.
Speaker 4 (01:03:43):
But they didn't get to the super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (01:03:44):
The door is closing. How about that? All right?
Speaker 2 (01:03:46):
Because that's been the one knock on him, right is that, Well,
he can't beat Mahomes in the postseason, Jalen hurts. Okay,
he's got Tom Brady. Tom Brady beat him bad. All right,
let's find out what is trending right now. Speaking of unbeaten,
Moncey Belanos is in the house. You you've been smiling
a lot this football season. Tells me your fantasy pretty well.
Speaker 9 (01:04:08):
You know, it's so funny.
Speaker 11 (01:04:09):
You just haven't heard me yelling how I'm so glad
everyone is scoring except my fantasy people. So it's the
exact Ope, it's the exact opfice.
Speaker 9 (01:04:17):
I've been screaming this up and down the halls. You
guys are just in the middle of the show.
Speaker 1 (01:04:20):
So we thought the seams doing good. No, no, it's not.
Speaker 2 (01:04:25):
It's that smile, like really really yeah, exactly, like it's
going to be one of those days.
Speaker 1 (01:04:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:04:32):
See, he's gonna get another one.
Speaker 9 (01:04:33):
He's like everybody else. No bueno for me. So it's fine, guys.
Speaker 11 (01:04:39):
We've got seven games going on in the NFL right now,
and most of them are at halftime except the forty
nine Ers and.
Speaker 9 (01:04:45):
The Browns are about to start the third quarter in Cleveland.
Speaker 11 (01:04:48):
Forty nine Ers did get a field goal to take
the lead, but San Francisco is only up.
Speaker 9 (01:04:53):
Ten to eight right now at the half.
Speaker 11 (01:04:55):
The Jaguars, after a couple penalties right before the half,
we're able to extend their lead with a field goal.
Speaker 9 (01:04:59):
Some now they're up on the Titans eighteen to three.
Speaker 11 (01:05:01):
Trevor Lawrence has thrown for one hundred and sixty nine
yards and two touchdowns. The Texans got the lead over
the Colts with the Nick Chubb rushing touchdowns, so they're
up ten six right now.
Speaker 9 (01:05:11):
All Dolphins against the Saints sixteen zero to a.
Speaker 11 (01:05:13):
Togovailoa has thrown an interception. He leads this this season
with fourteen. The Falcons and the Jets are tied at
seven at halftime. Buccaneers and Cardinals just got going in
the third quarter. And did you guys see that Baker
Mayfield through to Tristian Wurf's his first career touchdown.
Speaker 9 (01:05:30):
He had a couple of laterals last year, but this
was like his first everything.
Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
He was over two over.
Speaker 9 (01:05:37):
It was so so great. He was so excited. So
the Buccaneers up on the Cardinals ten to three. They
just got going in the third quarter. Over in Tampa.
Speaker 11 (01:05:45):
Still at the half between the Rams and the Panthers,
where LA is up twenty one to seventeen. Matthew Stafford
has thrown one hundred and sixty seven yards and two touchdowns.
He's also thrown two interceptions, one of them was a
pick six. When it comes to college football guys, there's
still no official word.
Speaker 9 (01:05:59):
On Lane Giffen.
Speaker 11 (01:06:00):
It's what we are expecting that at some point today
LSU is going to announce or he's going to announce
that he is going to l not.
Speaker 3 (01:06:07):
Official yet, it's not I s thought had already been
reported it's official as a done deal.
Speaker 10 (01:06:12):
I still have it.
Speaker 1 (01:06:13):
I still have a theory. I was telling J's theory
that's not official.
Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
My feeling is this The only reason LSU let go
Brian Kelly at the time that they did, is they
already had somebody.
Speaker 1 (01:06:26):
No, no, no, they already had a deal with think
this deal was already.
Speaker 2 (01:06:30):
I think that I think the deal was already. I
think that Lane Kivin's been sitting on this for a
long time.
Speaker 3 (01:06:36):
What I would love to hear is Lane say, you
know what my decision is today to stay. No, I
don't have a decision yet. I told him, I don't
have a decision yet. Lane Kiffin, don't owe nobody nothing
but no.
Speaker 9 (01:06:48):
No, but the school, out of respect for the school,
they need to know what you're doing.
Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
He says, No, there's no respect for the school. It's
all about Lane.
Speaker 4 (01:06:55):
Because no, because the school don't got no respect for him.
Speaker 1 (01:06:58):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 9 (01:06:59):
It's a business, but what are you They don't want
him to leave. This has been him because.
Speaker 1 (01:07:05):
Wants to keep four double digit win seeds. And that's ever.
Speaker 4 (01:07:09):
I know that first team in their team's history.
Speaker 1 (01:07:13):
I just I know how, I know how powerful.
Speaker 3 (01:07:16):
I know that's sometimes powerful college football men their egos
get really, how would you like to.
Speaker 1 (01:07:20):
Lose him to someone in your own conference? Right like that?
Speaker 9 (01:07:23):
That's not what they wanted, but they have to do
what's best for them.
Speaker 11 (01:07:26):
And after rumor circulated that he was entertaining others, well,
I think, yeah, you got to tell.
Speaker 9 (01:07:30):
Us what you want to do.
Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
I feel you.
Speaker 3 (01:07:32):
So I want his decisions today to be I don't
have a decision yet, and that's what I need.
Speaker 1 (01:07:42):
Says, we'll pull the offer at the table.
Speaker 9 (01:07:43):
If you don't announce it to that hilarious, That would
be hilarious.
Speaker 1 (01:07:46):
But then but then go sign who if l l
SU doesn't have any.
Speaker 9 (01:07:50):
Power here they don't, but somebody would love to go
to l S.
Speaker 1 (01:07:54):
I know what I'm saying is okay, yeah, good stuff,
go ahead.
Speaker 4 (01:07:59):
I'm sorry about to go get it.
Speaker 11 (01:08:00):
Florida did find a coach it's Tulane's John summer All
he's gonna be their new.
Speaker 9 (01:08:05):
Head coach for six years.
Speaker 11 (01:08:06):
And Auburn has hired South Florida as Alex Golish to
be their next football coach.
Speaker 9 (01:08:11):
You didn't like that on Readay, That's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (01:08:13):
Florida pulls out and you hire Conference too, by the way,
you know see what I'm saying people.
Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
By the way, you know one still, you will not
be announcing a new coach for for a while as
UCLA nobody wants that job. Do you realize I now
confirm that seven people turn down that job before they
hired here Sean Foster. Seven coaches turned down the UCLA
job before they've turned to their running back coach to
Shan Foster as their head coach.
Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
Even seven people, even Oregon State has already signed the guy,
the assistant defensive coordinator from Alabama. Yeah, LSU's got no
power here, home boy. You gotta sit and wait. Yeah,
you're gonna go get Does anyone know what's going on
with Penn State? Penn State's listen, I'm with him With UCLA,
who wants that job? You to go there to win
(01:09:00):
nine of ten games? To get beat by Michigan, Ohio
State every and now Oregon.
Speaker 1 (01:09:03):
Yeah, yeah, that's.
Speaker 3 (01:09:07):
What's gonna happen.
Speaker 5 (01:09:08):
It's just curious. It's just curious that that job is
still open, and I think it was the first opening
and there's just nothing.
Speaker 4 (01:09:12):
Nothing there. Guys already down in Blacksburg.
Speaker 5 (01:09:15):
By the way, someone that's coaching next weekend, maybe that
might be taken.
Speaker 2 (01:09:18):
By the way, speaking of coaches that probably would take
another job, is Lincoln Riley. You know, Laca Riley after
the game yesterday as NA beat UCLA was going on
and on and on about his undefeated home schedule this year.
Speaker 1 (01:09:32):
They were undefeated home. We rolled the table this year
and you know, we've had a great year and next
year will be better.
Speaker 2 (01:09:38):
And I'm like, it's pretty convenient that you didn't have
either Ohio State or Indiana on your schedule this year.
Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
I mean, you had Michigan at home. You got Michigan,
you had the schedule.
Speaker 11 (01:09:48):
This was it.
Speaker 2 (01:09:48):
Yeah, two of the premier receivers in the league, the
number one wide receiver I think in the country, Lester
and I will come in.
Speaker 1 (01:09:55):
Here, and so no Indiana, no Ohio State, Michigan at home.
This was the year.
Speaker 2 (01:10:01):
How you did not make the playoffs with that schedule?
You lose at Illinois really.
Speaker 3 (01:10:07):
So got beat up in Illinois. They didn't just lose
that game, that was an old Big ten, that was
their interesting.
Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
They beat up by Notre Dame and even Oregon did
a beatdown on him.
Speaker 1 (01:10:18):
So the fact is is that this guy is such
a Fraudut do you think he can do?
Speaker 3 (01:10:22):
You think this is your account? Do you think Lincoln would?
But but where are you going? Well if I it,
because no, he doesn't want to go anywhere. I got
a huge contract. I'm saying, though, he better have a fallback.
You know a lot of people were thinking maybe LSU
or Florida. Well they're out of the question. So what's
what's still out there? Just if somebody finally decides, you
(01:10:43):
know what we're doing done with you?
Speaker 1 (01:10:45):
Lincoln?
Speaker 2 (01:10:45):
You know, four years, zero conference title, zero playoffs, zero anything.
Your four year records almost identical to Clay Helton's after
four years, and at least he won a Rose Bowl State.
Speaker 5 (01:10:57):
Oklahoma's back in the playoff before you.
Speaker 1 (01:10:59):
And almost back in the playoff exactly, very true. Yesterday.
Speaker 5 (01:11:03):
Yeah, I don't want to watch Oklahoma play a playoff game.
But it's good that they're there. It's fine.
Speaker 2 (01:11:09):
And by the way, the people that cover USC the
closest you know, people that are really around that program,
I haven't heard one thing positive about Lincoln Riley. Like
those people that have been around that program for a
long time just don't think anything positive.
Speaker 5 (01:11:24):
He doesn't care about USC and the tradition or all that.
Speaker 1 (01:11:27):
He wants to get rid of Notre Dame off the
schedule because he can't beat him.
Speaker 2 (01:11:30):
At My attitude is about keeping Notre Dame on the
schedule and then find a coach that actually can.
Speaker 1 (01:11:34):
Beat Notre Dame.
Speaker 3 (01:11:35):
Yeah, and actually knows what it's about and knows how
to actually like you said, e golf yourself, it's a
different coach out here.
Speaker 5 (01:11:42):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:11:42):
When I do cover the games, well, there is kind
of like a this is kind of like this vibe
in the press box. You kind of just don't talk
about him. There's not a lot of negative or positive.
It's just like you get a lot of you know,
like I raises, like you get what you know, like
Coach Riley. It's not like some other programs I've been around,
where no, that's our coach. That's our guy, he gets it.
(01:12:02):
We love him, will we will stay for no slander
versus DA guy. You do not get that when you
go cover DAC game.
Speaker 5 (01:12:08):
People that aren't from here also don't understand that like
USC is the pro football team out here.
Speaker 1 (01:12:13):
It is and always has been, always has been.
Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
It blows away the Rams and the Chargers USC easily easily.
Speaker 1 (01:12:20):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:12:21):
By the way, we're in the Fox Sports Radio studios.

(01:12:42):
the air. All right, Coming up on the other side,
we'll get back to these seven games around the National
Football League. Yes, we're getting into the second halves coming
up in the next hour. It's the no Huddle hour.
Speaker 1 (01:12:53):
Keep it right here.
Speaker 2 (01:12:54):
This is end Zone Radio, Steve Harby, VJ. Husky here
and Zone Radio. All right, let's give you a quick
update on the scoreboard right now. The seven games going
on around the National Football League all these games. Now
in the third quarter, forty nine. Ers still lead the
Browns ten to eight, Jaguars over the Titans eighteen to three,
Texans lead the Colts ten to six, Dolphins over the
(01:13:16):
Saints sixteen to nothing. Falcons on the road defeating the
beating the Jets fourteen to seven, Buccaneers ten three over
the Cardinals, And the only game where we're getting some
points today, it's a shootout today between the Panthers and
the Rams, and the Rams are on the short end
of this one. Coming in on that six game winning streak.
I annoyted them as the team to beat, and now
(01:13:37):
they're losing, and I can do that to anybody. Panthers
leave this game by a score of twenty four to
twenty one. Matthew Stafford has played well except.
Speaker 1 (01:13:46):
For two picks picks in this game. He had gone well.
Speaker 2 (01:13:49):
He had twenty consecutive touchdown passes without a pick. That
was a new NFL wreckerd. But the guy that's got
the clean slate, Bryce Young nine to thirteen, one hundred
and twenty nine yards, two touchdowns, no picks. That is
a passer rating of one hundred and forty one. I
love he is doing a great job there. So right now,
Panthers in control and they think they're just forcing upon
(01:14:12):
it's raining now.
Speaker 3 (01:14:13):
I was about to say it is a monsoon out
there now, but to get that, you're getting that weather
back east now.
Speaker 4 (01:14:17):
We saw it in the Midwest yesterday in college football.
Speaker 3 (01:14:20):
Rain, winds, snow, So you know, when you're coming from
l A, you're not Honestly, when you're from out here,
you're not used to that when you go back Keys.
And that's not to say they can't win this game.
I just love the way the Panthers showed up. They're
they're in that game. That defense played well. Perty throws
three interceptions and they got a return. Right now, that
takes them into Rams territory. All right, show what's seven mothers?
Speaker 2 (01:14:42):
Like?
Speaker 3 (01:14:43):
That's Et and that's Travis's younger brother. But I just
I just I do you and I both picked this
team to make the playoffs. I thought they were a
wild card this year. And the live has to do
with Bryce Young. But when you make when you when
you bring a new coach in, it takes a few years.
You draft McMillan, the rookie out of Arizona. You bring
him and you give him a wr one, you run
the ball. But this defense has been playing very well
(01:15:05):
as they should. You got to help your young quarterback out.
Get turnovers, get three and outs, get them the ball
more and more, because the best recipe for young quarterback
is reps.
Speaker 1 (01:15:15):
The only way you get reps is if you have
the damn ball.
Speaker 2 (01:15:18):
Let me ask you about one quarterback right now, because
this guy is really having statistically in terms of his
passer rating, the best day of any quarterback right now.
Passer rating No. One hundred and fifty eight to three
is a perfect scorer. This guy right now is at
one fifty six point five. His name is Trevor Lawrence.
He's eleven to fourteen, one hundred and sixty nine yards,
two touchdowns and no picks. Talk about a new coach
(01:15:41):
of William Cohen getting there in Jacksonville. If they win
today against the Titans, they get to eight and four.
So we were saying again going into the year with
Trevor Lawrence, is he's still on the radar. Like all
the hype of Trevor Lawrence, you know a lot of
people are now comparing that quarterback draft with the worst
quarterback drafts of all time when you think about some
of the bus that.
Speaker 1 (01:16:00):
Came out of that draft.
Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
Is Trevor Lawrence in that company, but it seems like
one he's asking him to do less. I mean again,
only fourteen passes today, being efficient, don't make mistakes, you know,
get comfortable. That's what we talk about a lot, sour
quarterback comfortable. Have we turned the corner? Is Trevor Lawrence
now back in the conversation. If Jacksonville gets into the postseason,
(01:16:23):
he has postseason experience.
Speaker 1 (01:16:25):
He did win a postseason game out of Chargers.
Speaker 2 (01:16:29):
Is that a team that could surprise anybody if they
get into the postseason.
Speaker 1 (01:16:34):
I don't think they were surprised anybody. I think people know.
Speaker 3 (01:16:37):
Well, let me answer the first part of your question.
I'm not haven't been out on Trevor Lawrence because I
believe you got to give guys time.
Speaker 6 (01:16:45):
Man.
Speaker 3 (01:16:45):
I think too often, too fast in this business, we
crown guys and write guys off too fast on both ends.
And he's had three different head coaches in what his
first five years in the NFL. Guys, and one year
was just a cluster, you know what is just a
terrible higher a terrible situation, and he's the quarterback. You
(01:17:06):
have to deal with that, which means you now have
to kind of backtrack because you get set back a
year when you have a bad coach and now you
have all these other things happening. You have the other
injuries happening, you have the ownership questionabilities. Jacksonville's thinking about
being the NFL team to finally be the one that
they place overseas.
Speaker 1 (01:17:23):
You gotta think about it as a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:17:25):
All the stuff plays into your mentality and your mental
and how you can focus. Once again, you can only
control how you show up and and how you react.
But at the end of the day, he's still uber talented,
he still got a big arm. He was still the
number one overall pick. They they're not I'll tell you this,
they're not selling the farm on him, because what are
you who you're.
Speaker 4 (01:17:41):
Gonna go get?
Speaker 1 (01:17:42):
What are you gonna do?
Speaker 3 (01:17:43):
Let's see if we can just be patient put some
talent around a guy. Last year bowing out, We talked
about this last week. So many people were out on
Kayleb Williams. So with five weeks into his career, Oh
he's not the guy. He's gonna be a bus get
a quarterback coach, get a good offense, get some weapons
defense next year nine and three by Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 (01:18:03):
Funny how that works.
Speaker 2 (01:18:04):
It's also funny how one guy, Ben Johnson can affect
two franchises. Does the Lions team look at all like
the Ben Johnson? That team was setting records last year?
Speaker 3 (01:18:13):
Most disappointing team this year by farsl When when I'm
watching Dan Campbell call plays, I'm like, what is going on?
Speaker 1 (01:18:21):
You decided to promote from within and that was going
to work.
Speaker 2 (01:18:26):
No, Ben Johnson was even bigger, a bigger factor in
the Lions than anyone expected. And the way that he
has gotten Caleb Williams, because you remember we were talking
about this, Caleb Williams.
Speaker 1 (01:18:39):
Is a guy that wants to extend plays. He wants
to do a little Ada liby.
Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
You know, all the comparisons at USC to Patrick Mahomes
and how he can throw at different angles and everything else.
Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
Right, why are you doing your arms like that?
Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
Because again, when you think about Ben Johnson and what
he had with Jared Goff, it was a by the
book quarterback. All right, yeah, you know we're gonna we're
gonna get you comfortable. We're going to get We're a
buy the book, do what I tell you to do,
and do your job.
Speaker 1 (01:19:05):
Do your job.
Speaker 2 (01:19:06):
We got talent, get the ball to the playmakers, and
we're going to score a lot of points.
Speaker 1 (01:19:11):
And we're like, okay, so how's that dynamic gonna work?
Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
Because it seems like Caleb Wing is a very different
quarterback than Jared Goff was. Can they get on the
same page? And this is the power again. You know
good coaches, they they know how to gain your trust.
Trust me, I know.
Speaker 1 (01:19:30):
This will work for you. And if it works for you,
it works for this entire team.
Speaker 5 (01:19:35):
What's impressive isn't really what Caleb's done, because he hasn't
been great this year, but he's recreated the run game
he had in Detroit with DeAndre Swift and Kyle and
well I think was going to happen.
Speaker 3 (01:19:44):
Well, people wrote DeAndre Swift off. Let's not forget about that.
People wrote them off. Okay, I don't think guy. I mean,
when did this guy become a superstar?
Speaker 10 (01:19:51):
Right?
Speaker 5 (01:19:51):
I mean it's a mara. He's a seventh round pick
that has better stats than ationality.
Speaker 1 (01:19:55):
But this is you need a bigger paycheck that's why.
Speaker 2 (01:19:57):
But all of a sudden, like I said, they look
like no the two headed duel you had in Detroit?
Speaker 4 (01:20:02):
Right, Oh wow, funny how it happens.
Speaker 2 (01:20:04):
Huh, It's amazing. So that is the power of this,
Ben john I'm very anxious to see where the boards.
Can you imagine if the Bears actually become that team? Hey,
no one ever can becomes that quarterback. No one ever
thought the Chiefs would ever be that team, And go
back a couple of decades, no one ever thought that
the Patriots would be that team.
Speaker 1 (01:20:25):
Could the Bears be the next that team? I mean
Johnson as the coach. I'll tell you what the Browns
just did. When we come up from commercial brows, God.
Speaker 2 (01:20:33):
A lot more coming up. We get into the Yeah
No Huddle Hour on end Zone Radio. All right, rolling
along here Week thirteen and the National Football League seven
games going on right now around the NFL.
Speaker 1 (01:20:45):
We're in the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Speaker 2 (01:20:48):
The forty nine ers have just scored to extend their
lead against the Cleveland Browns. This was after Cleveland. Cleveland
did something that just really even for me. I'm like,
what are you doing? They decided to yankshrador Sanders out,
but instead of running the wildcat, where you have the
direct snap to a running back, they.
Speaker 1 (01:21:09):
Had him line up under center.
Speaker 2 (01:21:12):
He immediately dropped the ball because, oh, I don't know,
he's not used to actually taking a snap from underneath
the center. Drop the ball recovered by the forty nine
ers at the Cleveland thirty one yard line, and they
went right down the field the forty nine ers score.
They now lead seventeen to eightime. Sometimes you wonder about
play calling around the NFL. Right you watch them play
(01:21:32):
and you're like, okay, what exactly was the end result here? Like,
what are you thinking here? It's a ten to eight game.
You've obviously very much in this game right now, and
you're going to do something where you're going to line
up someone in a position they've never been before. People
are like, well, it's a direct snap from the center.
Everything takes practice.
Speaker 1 (01:21:53):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:21:54):
We have seen because we see now more quarterbacks around
the NFL than ever underneath the center, and a lot
of them are still struggling, have taken the ball away
getting out without getting their footstepped on as they back off.
But you gotta put a non quarterback and do that.
You're asking for trouble. The Browns fumbled the ball, and
now the forty nine Ers lead by nine.
Speaker 3 (01:22:13):
Steve I said this to you during commercial break, and
I mean this wholeheartedly. I I everybody knows how I
feel about you doing you talk about my loyalty and
my fan and stuff. Have I once been on the
side of Oh, they're trying to sabotage them, they're trying.
Speaker 1 (01:22:26):
I've totally stayed away from that one.
Speaker 3 (01:22:30):
I get why people would say, I just I just
think let's let's talk, let's go a little deeper.
Speaker 1 (01:22:35):
I think that's too easy.
Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
But when I watch what I just saw, you're in
a game is ten to eight. Your defense is playing well. Shit,
Door's playing good. I don't know if he's playing great.
He's playing good. But on your own thirty one, not
only do you do a direct snap too, it's four
and it's handing Junior the fullback. Tell me when a
fullback is taken a snap from under the center. And
(01:22:59):
if you want to use Judkins, all right, cool, you've.
Speaker 4 (01:23:01):
Been doing that.
Speaker 3 (01:23:02):
But from your own thirty one on fourth and one,
I think the last person you want to pull off
the field is your starting quarterbacks.
Speaker 4 (01:23:10):
So I'm not saying that they're but just explain to me.
Speaker 3 (01:23:16):
Are your own thirty one, six fifty eight left in
the third quarter ten to eight at own? Quarterbacks playing great?
Defense is playing great? We're gonna go for it?
Speaker 4 (01:23:23):
All right, fine, Dan Campbell on your own thirty one,
But why are you lining up?
Speaker 3 (01:23:28):
Not only that, have you seen before the play starts
steep They're confused, They're pointing to each other. They're trying
to line each other up. So the play is dead
right there. At that point, you can use a timeouts
to fans get nope, go ahead and let him run
the play guys, and they fumblely give the ball to
San Francisco. Now I think the game could possibly be
over all.
Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
Wach, we have a whole quarter to go. Maybe shood
door Sanders has Yeah, that's a good setup. I want
to have a shout out just Shane Styke and the
coach of the Colts. So the Colts just tied the game.
Daniel Jones, after a rough start, is suddenly the heat
up right now, He's twelve to twenty, one hundred and
seventy three yards, two touchdowns and no picks against the
(01:24:08):
number one defense of the National Football League.
Speaker 1 (01:24:11):
But they score.
Speaker 2 (01:24:11):
Remember the Colts had the missed extra point to start
the game. Yep, they just kicked the extra point.
Speaker 10 (01:24:18):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (01:24:18):
It's third quarter. Don't go for two to try to
make up for the missed extra point from earlier. So
right now Colts Texans are tied at thirteen.
Speaker 1 (01:24:26):
Just really fast.
Speaker 3 (01:24:27):
During the course with great, we're we're talking about Theefanski
you also said, what that's I said, making a decision
like that discombobbilate your team, because I'm sure there's.
Speaker 4 (01:24:35):
Other men on that they're looking around like what the
hell are you doing?
Speaker 3 (01:24:40):
And right now, in the kick of the receiver for
the kickoff, catches the ball on the sideline instead of
letting the ball go out of bounds and getting it
on the forty yard line.
Speaker 1 (01:24:46):
All right, we have breaking news right now, breaking news
from Fox Sports.
Speaker 11 (01:24:54):
Lane Kiffin has officially made an announcement. He just tweeted
this literally sixty.
Speaker 9 (01:25:00):
Seconds all right, So Marie it to you guys.
Speaker 11 (01:25:03):
After a lot of prayer and time spent with the family,
I made the difficult decision to accept the head coaching
position at LSU. I was hoping to complete a historic
six season run with this year's team by leading Ole
Miss through the playoffs, capitalizing on the team's incredible success
and their commitment to finish strong, and investing everything into
a playoff run with guardrails in place to protect the
(01:25:24):
program in any areas of concern. My request to do
so was denied by Keith Carter, despite the team also
asking him to allow me to coach them so that
they could better maintain their high level of performance. Unfortunately,
that means Friday's Egg Bowl was my last game coaching
the Rebels. While I am looking forward to a new
start with a unique opportunity at LSU, I will forever
(01:25:45):
cherish the incredible six years I spent at Old Miss
and will be rooting hard for the team to complete,
to complete their mission and bring a championship to Oxford.
Speaker 2 (01:25:53):
All right, so again told you what? Well, so again
he's blaming them. Don't blame me. Here's what he's saying.
Don't blame me for accepting the LSU job during our season.
Blame the guy that decided. Even though I've already decided
(01:26:13):
to take the LSU job, I can't coach that. I
can't coach the team, even though the team wanted me
to coach. By the way, I always reminded this the
great Steve Fisher, the basketball coach Michigan. So they have
Bill Frieder, right, Bill Frieder was the coach, and he
accepts the Arizona State job and both Shambecker was the
athletic director, and they're getting ready for the NCAA tournament
(01:26:35):
and Frieda's like, yeah, next year, I'll be at Arizona State.
He goes, no, you're gone now. You're gonna fire me
before the tournament. So he turns to what's your name,
Steve Fisher, like this anonymous assistant. They go six and
zero win the national championship, and Steve Fisher, I'm very
close to, said a week later, I'm sitting with the
President of the United States with my wife.
Speaker 1 (01:26:58):
And he was like, it was surreal.
Speaker 2 (01:27:00):
How did I go from completely anonymous to no name
at the end of the bench as an assistant coach.
We're on the President sitting talking with us right now.
So I don't know, would that be unbelievable if Ole
miss got on a roll. That's a good football team,
really good football team, and what if they got to
roll won a national championship without.
Speaker 3 (01:27:19):
Link that's not gonna happen. I know that's I know
that's a great thing people will want to see in basketball.
I'm gonna tell you right now, Shambless might have played
his last game because Shamblss is going to hit the
portal andd go with his coach.
Speaker 1 (01:27:31):
He's taking him her.
Speaker 4 (01:27:36):
He went, he bought him.
Speaker 5 (01:27:37):
There has there ever been a more LSU quarterback name
than Trinidad Chambliss. Like, that's just.
Speaker 1 (01:27:45):
Hollywood. Couldn't have road hold on, hold on, No, he's
got an n I L deal. He may have a
commitment to that n I L.
Speaker 3 (01:27:51):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:27:52):
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 2 (01:27:53):
The way the way the n I L deals are
structured now because we said this about the n I
L deals, Now that you have this cential four game playoff,
for these players, especially a quarterback, they they have deals
where they are paid extra for the games that they
have in the postseason. Like it's like there's regular season
money and then there's postseason nil money. That's how you
(01:28:15):
keep these quarterbacks on the field. You're like, if I
was a quarterback and I'm going to be projected as
let's say the number one overall pick in the draft,
I'm going to I'm going to put myself at risk
by trying to go through three or four playoff games.
Speaker 5 (01:28:27):
I think LSU would pay whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:28:29):
But thank you, thank you, bo I'll step on your toes,
don't well, you guys be doing ready with me enough
to stop talking about money.
Speaker 1 (01:28:38):
There there's loop holes.
Speaker 2 (01:28:39):
Wait, there are people you as the second poorest state
in the United States, obviously say, the second highest poverty
rate of the entire United States, and they have all
this money to spend on college football.
Speaker 3 (01:28:54):
Going to get a hundred or so, yeah, ninety ninety
plus pleasing plus guarantee, you know, plus the guarantee money
to solve the poverty.
Speaker 2 (01:29:02):
How much would a billion dollar one? How much money
would a let's see, what are you offering?
Speaker 1 (01:29:07):
How much? Ten million dollar? Listen? I think that that
would help out some of the people starving in the state.
Speaker 3 (01:29:12):
It would, But I don't never buy a poor state,
this poor state that you know what that means to me.
That's like the guy that works for cash under the
table and everybody goes, oh, he ain't got no, no,
he doesn't have a job, he doesn't get a paycheck,
but trust me, he got money. That's what these states are.
Like you said, if there's one hundred and fifty mil
to give to one coach and tell another coach to
(01:29:35):
go away, Steve, that's just the money to the coaches.
You don't think we're Let's let's tell he up all
the nil money. Let's tell you up all the other
money from friends of the program, boosters and stuff. This
is why I always stand strong in my opinion. Stop
talking to me about talking about the people that are hungry.
(01:29:56):
One of the best, one of the best words in
this country as far as capitalism concern is loophole. And
just because you pay the kid this, and the contracts this,
and I guarantee somebody goes, Okay, how much you o
the kid? Well, he has the state or he has
to forfeit his one point two millions.
Speaker 1 (01:30:10):
Okay, state university.
Speaker 3 (01:30:11):
Okay, here's three million. Come come over here, Come on, buddy, here,
here's your three million. Hold on, all right, come on,
Shamblet's come on.
Speaker 1 (01:30:17):
Coming out of private universe. That's a state university. Where
are they coming up with all this money?
Speaker 3 (01:30:21):
Hey man, there's a lot of money just swirling around.
Go listen to Byron Allen on The Breakfast Club Byron
All said, here's.
Speaker 1 (01:30:27):
Money just swirling.
Speaker 4 (01:30:28):
Abubba's guys. People just don't know how to go.
Speaker 1 (01:30:30):
Gratch the second highest poverty rate of any state in
the United.
Speaker 4 (01:30:33):
Lane, God, I want him back in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:30:35):
But okay, anyway, so Lane Kiff and try to play
blame other people. That's that's brilliant. I doubt if he
actually drew that thing out that was written by somebody else.
Speaker 1 (01:30:43):
Anyway, Shambla's going, Dolsu go with him, all right, there
you go, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:30:47):
Coming up on the other side though, we'll get back
to because this is the no Huddle Hour.
Speaker 1 (01:30:51):
Yeah, this is where we get to. Alex. Do you
know about the no huddle hour? Steve tell me? Can
you tell us about the no huddle hour? No huddle hour?
Speaker 13 (01:31:00):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (01:31:00):
I have a fancy button to tell us both. Do
you know what time it is? No huddle?
Speaker 2 (01:31:05):
There?
Speaker 1 (01:31:05):
It is like you got it all right?
Speaker 2 (01:31:07):
Coming on together, we will get back to these seven games,
which games will go down to the finish line.
Speaker 1 (01:31:14):
We've got a couple of close games right now. Keep
it here. This is end Zone Radio, and don't forget
Stave no huddle hour balls at the two and a
half heard he's in the shotgun with Diccaffrey to his
lap Jennings right or Jennings lap rather Pierce all right
shot that's not for Purty takes the game.
Speaker 8 (01:31:29):
He runs laft, he's got a nose for the goal line,
and he's in for a forty nine Ers touchdown.
Speaker 2 (01:31:36):
That's CAMBR forty nine Ers Radio network. Forty nine Ers
lead the Brown seventeen to eight, and then after a
muffed punt return, forty nine Ers have the ball back.
They have a first and goal the Cleveland five yard line.
So it looks like unfortunately for Shuder Sanders, because they
put wins and losses only on quarterbacks. I never understood
(01:31:58):
why only quarterbacks have a one lot record outside of coaches,
but that is true. They don't do that with any
other I know, right, yeah, But at some point they
decided it's a win loss record qu quarterbacks only.
Speaker 1 (01:32:12):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:32:13):
It's not like a pitcher where you get a winner
a loss anyway. So should or after they take that
away in your opinion, Well, I mean it's a team situation, right,
I mean, it's all about the team. My problem is
if you're going to do it for quarterbacks, and why
not have wins losses for every position?
Speaker 1 (01:32:30):
Right right guard win los guard.
Speaker 2 (01:32:33):
If you start the game at right guard because it's
junior as a starter, right what is your record as
a starting right guard or any starter? So anyway, they
only do that quarterbacks Right now forty nine ers in
control by a score of seventeen eight other scores right now,
Jaguars lead the Titans twenty five to three. Texans have
taken the lead twenty to thirteen over the Colts twelve
(01:32:55):
and a half minutes to go in.
Speaker 1 (01:32:56):
The fourth quarter there.
Speaker 2 (01:32:57):
Dolphins still lead the Saints, but only sixteen eight thirteen
and a half minutes to go. It's a one score
game there. Falcons have taken the lead seventeen to fourteen
on the road against the Jets. Buccaneers still lead the Cardinals,
but just seventeen to ten with thirteen minutes to go,
and the Rams have retaken the lead.
Speaker 1 (01:33:13):
This has been the game of the day, back and forth,
back and forth. Puka Nakua just.
Speaker 2 (01:33:17):
Made an unbelievable catch, sort of a backhanded twisted that
actually pulled away from the defender, grabbed the ball again,
its raining and that set up what would be a
Rams score.
Speaker 1 (01:33:28):
So Rams lead the Panthers by a score of twenty
eight to twenty. That was more Larry Fitzgerald. That was
more like a Larry Fish.
Speaker 3 (01:33:35):
Because if you go back and watch Larry Fitzgerald highlights,
we forget how great Yeah Larry.
Speaker 2 (01:33:41):
Fitz Jeral or miner this year because he's gonna be
a first ballot Hall of Fame twelve straight years.
Speaker 3 (01:33:47):
Yes, played every game, never said a word, never was
a diva, and bert every quarter that.
Speaker 1 (01:33:53):
Ever tried to cover.
Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
Well, what's amazing is he ended up playing seventeen years
in the NFL, all with the Arizona Cardinals. So when
you're playing with the Arizona the Cardinals, you're not getting
a lot of attention.
Speaker 1 (01:34:03):
But he will be.
Speaker 2 (01:34:04):
He was named to the All Century, you know, one
hundred year team after the first team, and he will
be UH this year along with Drew Brees. You could
you can put that in the books. Drew Brees and
Larry and UH will both be first ballot Hall of Famers.
By the way, quick, no, did you do you hear
that Lombarney story yesterday?
Speaker 3 (01:34:23):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:34:23):
You didn't hear about this?
Speaker 2 (01:34:24):
So I wake up yesterday morning and I always go
through obituaries, see if anybody famous died. First name of
the list, Lombarney, eighty year old, Hall of Fame corner
the Detroit Lions passed away, and I'm like wow. And
then all of a sudden there was a correction on
the story. So the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the
actual Pro Football Hall of Fame, with our condolences to
(01:34:46):
the Barney family. Len was a great player, Hall of Famer,
blah blah blah. Except for one problem. He wasn't dead.
Lem Barney is alive, and well, thank god, what the hell?
So somebody had leaked out that Lem Barney had died
and and no one checked.
Speaker 1 (01:35:01):
They just ran it was on every website. It was
like everyone ram with Barney.
Speaker 2 (01:35:07):
Lyons legend dead at the age of eighty, except the
fact was he wasn't dead.
Speaker 1 (01:35:12):
Shows you the world we're living. So you only have
to be right and prove anything you can just you
can just say it.
Speaker 2 (01:35:17):
But if you're in the Pro Football Hall of Fame
and you're gonna put it on your website a Hall
of Famer has passed away, would you double check just once?
Speaker 1 (01:35:25):
Can you?
Speaker 2 (01:35:25):
Let's make sure you have to so somebody actually have
Members of the Detroit media were calling the Barney family,
sorry to hear about Lemni.
Speaker 1 (01:35:32):
That's wrong with what's wrong with him? Talk to him?
His sons like I just talked to him? Is he
my dad? Okay? Because I just called He's fine? What
are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (01:35:40):
They like what? So?
Speaker 1 (01:35:42):
Yeah, they leaked it out that lem Barney had died.
He's not He's not dead.
Speaker 3 (01:35:45):
He's don't have to be right nowadays, all you have
to do is just say it and Bryce Young be
why a woll tired for.
Speaker 2 (01:35:55):
Bryce Young? To the rookie McMillan, who is really a player?
Speaker 1 (01:35:59):
This guy? Oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:36:01):
They still got work to do here, man Carolina.
Speaker 3 (01:36:03):
Add some more pieces, builds this offense up over the
next like you know, rest of this year.
Speaker 1 (01:36:07):
But like this offseason, defense is fine. This offseason, it
should be all in on.
Speaker 3 (01:36:12):
Let's put as much around our quarterback as we possibly
can because we know we're a playoff team. Now we
can fight with the best. This is the Rams who
people myself, everyone to talk two teams.
Speaker 1 (01:36:23):
In the league.
Speaker 2 (01:36:24):
They've now tell you what they're doing well against the
Rams today. Running the ball, Chuba Hubbard has eighty three
yards on the ground down Will has to go fifty three.
So I mean, you know, you get that two headed
monster at the running back. That seems to be the thing.
By the way, Bryce Young right now fourteen of nineteen,
one hundred ninety six yards, three touchdowns, no picks, he
has outplayed Matthew Stafford today and because of that, right now,
(01:36:46):
the Panthers lead the Rams by score thirty one to
twenty eight, six and a half minutes to go in
the fourth quarter of that game.
Speaker 3 (01:36:53):
I was asked earlier this year, if Bryce Young was
let go, would there be a market for him?
Speaker 1 (01:37:00):
And we don't have to worry about that.
Speaker 2 (01:37:02):
Well, where he's going to be, But he's not everybody's
comping to look at. He's Here's the thing about when
you when you're short in stature. And I go back
to a conversation I have with Doug Flutie when he
spent one year with the Chargers as they were, they
just drafted Drew Brees, so they hed started every game
that year.
Speaker 1 (01:37:19):
And I asked him, because I stood face to face,
I'm in five.
Speaker 2 (01:37:22):
Eleven, all right, that's how tall I am, and he
is I'm like five eight he's five five, and he goes,
this is one thing people have to understand. I've always
been this hype, right. So my perspective, whether it was
high school or college or NFL or Canadian Football League,
the way I see the field has never changed. So
(01:37:44):
when people say, well, how do you see over linemen
that are six foot five, he goes, I don't look
over them. I look through them. I find my lanes.
And that has always been my perspective on the field.
So same thing with a Bryce Young or Drew Brees
or you know, any one of these quarterbacks. It's not
six foot four or six foot five. They're used to it.
(01:38:04):
And so Bryce Young once again showing it's not about
how big you are. Can you play the position you
start getting some talent around you. We got a running game,
we got some balance in our offense, and they can
get it done. So great shootout game today, Panthers leading
the Rams by a score of thirty one to twenty eight.
Speaker 1 (01:38:23):
Remind me again, Bo, they were what ten point dogs
at home?
Speaker 5 (01:38:29):
Is that right?
Speaker 4 (01:38:30):
I saw nine and a half, nine and a half.
Speaker 5 (01:38:32):
Yeah, yeah, ten points, ten point dogs at home?
Speaker 1 (01:38:35):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (01:38:36):
I took Panthers the cover when I saw it nine
and a half. I just thought that team flying West
beck East. We already know that stat. And I thought
the Panthers, I thought they played well Monday night. Man,
they just did They just on the road against Sanrancisco.
Just didn't have enough firepower. McMillan dropped three balls on
Monday night, like Bryce. Bryce was putting it on him.
But as time goes on in the game, you can
only try to put so much band aid on your cuts, man.
(01:38:58):
And I thought that's what happened to the Panthers Monday night.
Speaker 2 (01:39:00):
All right, biggest game honestly, I think in terms of
ramifications for both teams, Colts hosting the Texans, Texans trying
to win this game and get themselves right back into
the mix. Right now in the playoff picture in that
AFC South Colets have the ball right now, third and
one at the Houston thirty nine yard line. There's a
player down on the field right now. Texans lead this
(01:39:22):
game by a score of twenty to thirteen. Early on,
that great Texans defense, number one in the league in
scoring defense and total defense, was doing a number on
Daniel Jones, but he righted the ship. His numbers are
pretty good today thirteen to twenty two hundred and seventy
nine yards, two touchdowns, no pick. C. J. Stroud solid
twenty thirty three to two thirty three. He has to
(01:39:42):
on an interception in this game, but they've been able
that Texans defense to keep Jonathan Taylor in checks today.
His longest run is just twelve yards fifteen carries fifty
seven yards.
Speaker 1 (01:39:52):
That's less than four yards a carry. But this game has.
Speaker 2 (01:39:56):
Huge ramifications because Jacksonville is winning as well they should
against the Titans. They're gonna win that game, so they
will get to eight and four. A Colts win, they
go to nine and three, the Texans would fall to
six and six and all of a sudden, now they
need help.
Speaker 1 (01:40:14):
You know they have a but if they win this game.
Speaker 2 (01:40:17):
All of a sudden, you would have the Colts at
eight and four, you would have the Jags at eight
and four, and you would have the Texans at seven
to five.
Speaker 1 (01:40:24):
So basically a deadline in game on, game on for December.
Speaker 3 (01:40:27):
Today's November thirty exactly, today's November thirtieth. It's the last
day that means starts them off December game on, and
I think they have everything. It says, because once again,
if you can play defense in running games travel, I
don't care if it's snow, hot, cold, range, it doesn't matter.
Weather doesn't affect defenses. Weather doesn't affect running games. That's
(01:40:51):
why you need them in football. Do you your throw
round team? Okay, well, go play in Kansas City on
a Saturday night in January when it's thirteen degrees and
let's see how much you could to football around with
thirteen mile an hour wins.
Speaker 1 (01:41:02):
Let's see how that go.
Speaker 3 (01:41:03):
But if you could turn a hand into your bell
cows man and move the ball and move the sticks,
the Texas got a chance to make this something.
Speaker 1 (01:41:08):
So I'm with you on this.
Speaker 2 (01:41:09):
I think the home field, which isn't always a huge
factor because we see a lot of teams of that
first round by always beware that first round by ask
the Waions last year how that worked for them when
the Commanders went there and blew them out in Detroit. Okay,
a couple of teams just added a field goal. Your
Dolphins did They extend their lead to nineteen eight over
the Saints, and the Buccaneers got a field goal to
extend their lead over the Cardinals to twenty to ten.
(01:41:32):
Falcons and Jets are tied at seventeen forty nine ers
in control. Right now, they lead twenty three to eight
against the Browns in this game. They haven't asked Schador
to do a lot, but he's been okay. Ten to
sixteen hundred and eight yards a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (01:41:49):
No picks in this game for him. On the other side,
Rock Berri, he hasn't done much. What's going on? No huddle,
thank you, the no huddle. Our rages on a way
for us to do no huddle. It is our no huddle,
no huddle out. All right, We're gonna find out which
games are gonna go down the stretch. But first first
from the like doing that because I like watching.
Speaker 2 (01:42:11):
Uh, let's find out what is trying to name with
the great Mancy Belogna.
Speaker 11 (01:42:14):
I've just been laughing this whole time at all of
the little drops that Alex was in.
Speaker 3 (01:42:18):
In the back.
Speaker 1 (01:42:21):
First of all, I knew he would fall in love
with that no huddle, no huddle. There we go.
Speaker 3 (01:42:28):
In case you did you check he used your drop? Also,
did you catch that in the field you didn't cut
down like an hour ago? And the minute he does
say he's got a drop for months.
Speaker 1 (01:42:38):
You know how I get.
Speaker 4 (01:42:39):
I get sensitive.
Speaker 1 (01:42:40):
I want one, but she got I think I know
what you got one, but I mean.
Speaker 11 (01:42:44):
Alex put that drop in like a month into me
starting as an update anchor, like it's been in the system.
Speaker 1 (01:42:50):
For My favorite one is who is Joe? Who is John?
Speaker 11 (01:42:54):
That's my favorite is super funny. And there is kelvin
Washington on how to say my name? Thank you so
much in case you missed it. In his official lane,
Kiffin has announced that he has accepted the head coaching
position at LSU. In his statement, he said that he
wanted to finish the historic season with this year's Rebels
team through the playoffs, but his request was denied by
athletic director Keith Carter. Yes, he name dropped in his statement.
(01:43:18):
Rebels defensive coordinator Pete Golding is expected to be their
new head coach. All right, in the NFL, some good
games going on the Rams and the Panthers. Who would
have thought that this is going to be back and forth.
Panthers lead the Rams thirty one to twenty eight with
about five minutes to go in the game. The Rams
do have the ball at Carolina's like thirty yard thirty
nine yard line. The Buccaneers are up on the Cardinals
(01:43:40):
at home twenty to ten, halfway through the fourth quarter.
It's early in the fourth quarter in New York between
the Falcons and the Jets. That game is tied at seventeen.
Falcons currently have the ball around midfield. The Dolphins are
leading the Saints nineteen to eight, still early in the
fourth quarter. There and the Texans and Colts. Houston is
up twenty to thirteen, but the Colts have the ball.
It is fourth and seven at Houston's twenty four yard
(01:44:01):
line with about nine minutes to go, early in the
fourth quarter. This is really the only game that has
kind of been blown out since the beginning. Jaguars are
up on the Titans twenty five to three, and the Browns.
They were making it close, but the forty nine Ers
are pulling away in the second half with about nine
minutes to go.
Speaker 9 (01:44:15):
San Francisco is up right now, twenty three to eight.
Speaker 2 (01:44:18):
Back to you guys, all right. The Colts had to
settle for a field goal. It's good, so they cut
the Texans lead to twenty to sixteen, eight forty to
go in the fourth quarter. There again, that Texans defense.
They have no weaknesses on their defense none. I mean,
whether it's up front or in their secondary. I have
every inch of offense. You really have to struggle against
(01:44:42):
this Texans defense. But like I said, if the Texans
can't win this game, it is going to be a
tough hill for them to climb to actually get into
the postseason. All right, once again, we're in the Fox
Sports Radio studio Steve Harbin VJ.
Speaker 1 (01:44:54):
Husky.
Speaker 2 (01:44:55):

(01:45:15):
top of your screen.
Speaker 1 (01:45:16):
Do it is what it is? All right? So no
Huddle Hour's see Alex is in love of the no
Huddle Hour.
Speaker 3 (01:45:21):
Yeah, Well, we gotta let the fans know you're doing. Hey, babe,
we gotta let him know what hour it is. This
is this is a favorite app.
Speaker 2 (01:45:28):
Well, here is the thing I'm gonna I'm gonna come
clean on this. So we were trying to think of
a name for this show, which is now end Zone Radio.
So actually I did not come up with this. I
had a co worker at my TV stage. I was
mentioning this and someone said, well, how about the No
Huddle Show? No Huddle And I'm like, actually, that's pretty good,
and so you know, call it the No Huddle Show.
(01:45:49):
And so I threw it out to Scott shap Here,
our boss over there, and he liked it as well,
but it was sort of a poll. And then he
came back and he said, we've we've gone with end
Zone Radio, which I like. But I said, well, can
we use like? But he goes, you can use no
huddle in your show. I said, well, why don't we
create a no Huddle Hour? No Huddle Hour and that
third hour it depends. Like last week, we had so
(01:46:13):
many games go so long last week it was insane.
We had multiple overtime games. We were at the end
of our fourth hour, like we're still talking about morning games.
It was one of those crazy weeks where games were
just going way long.
Speaker 3 (01:46:27):
We didn't even get a chance to touch on any
of the second lateer games because we had three overtime
games going on. That Giants Lions game went deep into overtime,
and so did the so did the Colts and Charge
Chiefs game, which which ticked you and Moncie off because
they were they were drain.
Speaker 2 (01:46:45):
I want to say this though, you guys, but I
will say this guys right now. The team, the game
that's furthest along time wise, is this Rams game. We
are now inside three minutes to go in the fourth
quarter and the Rams are trying to answer back, trailing
the Panthers thirty one to twenty eight. This has been
a terrific game. Third and five right now, and that's
(01:47:05):
gonna be a penalty against the Rams.
Speaker 1 (01:47:07):
Left tackle. Wow, false start, brutal on third and five.
Speaker 3 (01:47:13):
You see a lot of that. You see these tackles
moving early. I got I saw it a lot in
college football yesterday. They got to stop taking Oh well,
we're trying to give them no, no, what the hell
do your seed first? You're trying to give them a chance.
You either you can get off the ball and make
the block or not.
Speaker 2 (01:47:27):
Okay, they're already giving them a cheat because they're actually
lining up a step off the line to start.
Speaker 1 (01:47:32):
What you hate because you're not on the line.
Speaker 4 (01:47:37):
You're not you're not on the line.
Speaker 2 (01:47:38):
You're already allowing these tackles to have really a step
If you watch them, the tackles are literally a step
back from the rest of the app Look at them.
Speaker 1 (01:47:46):
Look at the tackles. They're not lined up.
Speaker 2 (01:47:48):
Look where the center is, where the guards are, and
where the tackles are. They're not actually on the line
of scrimmage. All right, Third and ten for the Rams and.
Speaker 1 (01:47:57):
Oh wow, oh my, and the Panthers in the road.
Speaker 2 (01:48:03):
Have gotten the ball to midfield and the Panthers are
now in control as Matthew Stafford gets stripped of the
ball and the Panthers take over at midfield leading thirty
one to twenty eight with two twenty five.
Speaker 3 (01:48:18):
To go in the fourth. Oh, you got to hold
onto the ball, Matthew. That's on him. That that's that's
on him. Ball security. Once you start to scramble, you
gotta know, defensive guys when.
Speaker 1 (01:48:29):
It's out there, you know it's gonna be slick.
Speaker 4 (01:48:32):
Punching at the ball, trying to strip the ball. Yeah,
that's on him.
Speaker 10 (01:48:36):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:48:36):
So the Rams look like they're in deep trouble right now,
coming in on that six game winning streak. By the way,
I'm trying to figure this out. If the Rams lose
this game, are the Bears the one seed?
Speaker 1 (01:48:49):
Sea Wow? Wow? Think about this.
Speaker 2 (01:48:53):
You go with the Bears and the Patriots as you now,
give me some odds at the end of week thirteen
of the Bear and the Patriots be in the one
seeds in the respective conferences.
Speaker 3 (01:49:03):
I'll go as far right now as to say, if
the Bears end up with the home playoff game, which
they're going, so, I don't care who's going, I don't
care who goes in there.
Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
I'll pick the Bears to win that game. It's gonna
be cold, well, it's gonna be.
Speaker 3 (01:49:13):
Windy, and it's Ben Johnson, it's that turnover happy defense
number one in the NFL. And it's Caleb Williams, who
people said, hey, he's the next generational quarterback.
Speaker 2 (01:49:23):
I remember the last Bears team to get to the
Super Bowl, Rex Grossman, Yeah, exactly, Rex gross Can I
tell you a quick story about Grossman. So I'm down
in Miami for that Super Bowl between the Colts and
the Bears, and I had an opportunity with my partner,
Victor Briock Jacobs to sort of get up and close
with Rex Grosser. I really wanted to get a read
on this guy, remember his days with Spurrier, Florida, everything else.
Speaker 1 (01:49:44):
And I walked away from that like he's gonna win
this game. Like Rex Grossman is the real deal. He
didn't turned the ball over three times. They would have
until the game started, and I'm like, oh, that's right
about time to help. Yeah, nobody kick off touchdown.
Speaker 2 (01:49:58):
It's like, did you really kick the all the Devin
hesseru and then Rick Scressman was so bad, but I
was so convinced.
Speaker 1 (01:50:05):
I was like, I'm looking at the guy in the eyes.
Speaker 6 (01:50:07):
He's got it.
Speaker 4 (01:50:07):
Also to a quick trivia, who's the halftime show that year?
Speaker 1 (01:50:10):
Guys said, I don't remember halftimes?
Speaker 3 (01:50:11):
Prince Prince Wow, that was playing playing Purple Rain in
the rain in the in the people were afraid he
was gonna let you chude.
Speaker 5 (01:50:19):
It is a tough thing about the Bears, though, is
that they still going to play Green Bay twice.
Speaker 1 (01:50:23):
I know they have to play Green Bay trice, But.
Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
Guys, Texans right now are trying to take control of
this game against the Colts. They have a second one
at the Indy seventeen, already leading the Colts twenty to sixteen.
We got six minutes to go. So this is again
a huge game for the Texans as they try to
again they win. With Jaguars beating the Titans today, that
(01:50:48):
would mean the Colts and the Jags would both be
eight and four in the Texans right behind him at
seven and five in red hot.
Speaker 1 (01:50:54):
And I tell you this, this is not a team
you would want to see in the postseason.
Speaker 3 (01:50:58):
Who would have thought by thanks Giving weekend possibly the
two best divisions in football after today would have been
the AFC North and excuse me, AFC South and the
NFC North.
Speaker 4 (01:51:11):
Who would have thought that at this point?
Speaker 3 (01:51:12):
Because when you look, Detroit still formidable, right because the
Detroit they got weapons. But Packers Bears you think about
the coach Steve thinks this is a bigger game for
the Texans. No, I just I disagree because I still
think it's six and six at this point from what
I'm seeing as the totality of the rest of the AFC.
Who do you trust?
Speaker 4 (01:51:31):
You know, like don't.
Speaker 1 (01:51:34):
With the Rams apparently gonna lose today?
Speaker 4 (01:51:37):
Uh them?
Speaker 1 (01:51:39):
So I opened the show with this comment, stop saying, well,
who have they beaten? Who is anybody beaten?
Speaker 2 (01:51:46):
Everybody's the same, they're really you don't bring your a
game as the Rams obviously didn't play anywhere near I
mean Stafford. Stafford had twenty eight consecutive touchdown passes without
an interception. That was a new NFL riker that the
media throws two picks in this game over six.
Speaker 3 (01:52:01):
They gotta pick the guy. They have a time out
left two twenty. If you're Carolina, you're you're right, you
turn and hand the ball.
Speaker 1 (01:52:07):
You do throw it all by the way. You know
what next week is for the Texans at Case. I mean,
we talked about.
Speaker 2 (01:52:14):
The fact that Chiefs have to win out and the
first game that they will have to win will be
at home against the Texts.
Speaker 1 (01:52:21):
That'll be big for the Texas too.
Speaker 3 (01:52:23):
Even when getting a dub today, you can't like think
about it, but you can't get this dubbed the day
on the road and then go to and then go
lose the case next week.
Speaker 2 (01:52:30):
Here's here's the rest of their schedule at the Chiefs,
Cardinals at home, Waiters at home, when at the Chargers, and.
Speaker 1 (01:52:38):
Then Colts at home. That's the last two games for
the Texans this.
Speaker 3 (01:52:44):
Day, this AFC, I think the entire AFC and the
entire the entirely I'll just say this way, the entire
NFL playoff structure is going to come down to the
week eighteen and I'm talking from one seed all the
way to seventies. You know how, it's gonna come down
to the last weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:52:57):
So you always get that last Sunday where they picked
that last Sunday night game because there's no Monday night game. Bears,
and they always say that one game where both teams
have something on the line.
Speaker 1 (01:53:06):
That's what your Bears Packers, Bears, Packers could be Colts,
Titans are Texans.
Speaker 3 (01:53:13):
I think the nation and go go with go with
the two old brands, go with the not move that
that that Colts Texas game. Put that as the four
to twenty, like the four or five or the four
to twenty five.
Speaker 1 (01:53:25):
But that Sunday night.
Speaker 3 (01:53:26):
Game, No, there's so much hundred years of dis Come on, man,
it's gonna be cold.
Speaker 1 (01:53:30):
It's gonna be night.
Speaker 4 (01:53:31):
No matter where the game is played, it's gonna be night.
Speaker 1 (01:53:34):
It's gonna be cold, all.
Speaker 2 (01:53:35):
Right, Like nah, man, that's Bears, Packers, the finishers games
that are still now one score games again. Cardinals just
scored Buccaneers lead twenty seventeen o three and a half
minutes to go. Dolphins Saints just got a field goal
nineteen eleven. One score game for the Dolphins, six minutes
to go. Falcons have taken a twenty four to seventeen
(01:53:55):
lead in their game against the Jets.
Speaker 1 (01:53:58):
Yeah, we got some good games going on.
Speaker 6 (01:54:00):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:54:01):
Yeah, just like last is that Tommy year ste Well,
it's also that hour known as the No Huddle Hour.
That's No Huddle hour where everything gets crazy down the stretch.
Backamore on End Zone Radio, last Meil.
Speaker 12 (01:54:14):
Down, This crowd stands and applauds. I want to win
for the Carolina Panthers, knocking off the number one team
in the NFC and maybe the best team in the.
Speaker 1 (01:54:26):
NFL, Number one.
Speaker 2 (01:54:29):
That is ninety nine to seven the Fox Panthers radio network.
Speaker 1 (01:54:33):
It is a final.
Speaker 2 (01:54:35):
The Carolina Panthers have knocked off the Rams thirty one
to twenty eight. Bryce Young had himself a day to
day fifteen or twenty two hundred and six yards, three touchdowns,
no picks. Matthew Stafford for the first time in a
long time through not one but two picks today, had
a couple of touchdown passes, but in the end, the
(01:54:56):
better team won, and today it was the Carolina Panthers,
and just from a uh standpoint of winning the game
at seven and six, right now, they're keeping their eye
on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers right now hanging
on to a twenty to seventeen lead, but Cardinals have
the ball.
Speaker 1 (01:55:14):
So the Cardinals trying to get a late.
Speaker 2 (01:55:15):
Rally, got a long win, a long way to a
minute to go, but they have one time out remaining.
So but even if the Bucks win that I mean
the Bucks will go to seven and five, Panthers will
be seven and six. Panthers, by the way, are one
of the four teams that have a bye next week,
so that's the last bye week. No boys this week
Thanksgiving week, but next week four teams will have a buy,
(01:55:37):
including the Panthers, so they'll have a week off and
then let's take a look at the rest of the
Panthers schedule right now here.
Speaker 3 (01:55:43):
And that would be great for them there, that's why
I was just pulling that would be great for them.
A dub like this after the Monday Night debacle.
Speaker 2 (01:55:49):
All right, So the bye week and then they haven't well,
they play the Bucks twice, so they're at this They're
at the Saints coming out of the bye you gotta
win that game obviously, and then you have the Bucks
at home, Seahawks at home at the Bucks. So two
of their last three games had to head against the Bucks. Obviously,
that's for the division title.
Speaker 3 (01:56:08):
They remember, they already they already went their pants against
the Saints. Saints beat them earlier.
Speaker 1 (01:56:12):
They did.
Speaker 3 (01:56:13):
Saints beat them earlier after they beat that was just
a few weeks ago at home, after they beat the Falcons,
after they beat the Falcons.
Speaker 1 (01:56:19):
It was after they beat the Packers.
Speaker 3 (01:56:21):
No, but they had also beaten the the Falcons thirty
one nothing, which is another game that shocked us. Remember
they shut the Falcons out, didn't go beat the Packers,
and it's like, okay, wow, what's going on?
Speaker 2 (01:56:29):
I mean, when you look at the Panthers, they beat
the Cowboys this year, they ran the Cowboy and they
won at Green Bay. They won at Atlanta the revenge
that loss they had earlier at home. So they've had
some interesting games, but this win today was big by far.
Their biggest winner of the years. Again, the Rams came
(01:56:49):
in and as I was boasting about them being the
best and saying, come on, I said it on my TV.
Speaker 1 (01:56:55):
No chance, no chance of the Panthers. Uh And all right,
let me actually let me let me ask you this.
So now you're a believer in Mike Karma. How I
can I know?
Speaker 4 (01:57:04):
I am?
Speaker 1 (01:57:05):
I I thought you guys are.
Speaker 4 (01:57:06):
I thought it was just you know, radio fun stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:57:08):
But now I'm really like, okay, I need you to
talk bad about like, oh yeah, I need you to
just talk really really bad about all the players I
like and all the teams I like so they can
be real, real good. And the ones that I don't like,
I need you talk good about them. Question which loss was?
Which loss hurts more? This loss to the Panthers for
the Rams. Are the Eagles lost Black Friday.
Speaker 1 (01:57:29):
To the Bears. Well, the Eagles were at home, so
I would say the Eagles.
Speaker 4 (01:57:33):
Because these are the two teams, n see, these are
the two teams.
Speaker 2 (01:57:36):
That were you know well, and also for both Also,
you're coming off a game where you blow a twenty
one nothing leader the Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (01:57:42):
Now you're at home.
Speaker 2 (01:57:44):
You know it's again the Bears are like, Okay, the
Bears are the Bears, but I mean you're the Eagles,
You're the super Bowl champions, and then to lose that
game as well. I mean, I'm not saying the season
is over by any means for the Eagles. I look
at the Eagles are in the postseason. They got a
quarterback that knows how to get to the super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (01:58:00):
He's done it twice. So I'm Philly. I'm not giving
up on Philly.
Speaker 3 (01:58:06):
I've been I feel like I'm a Philly I feel
like I'm the Philly fan here at the studio.
Speaker 4 (01:58:11):
Wait, because I'm not. I've been waiving on Philly at.
Speaker 1 (01:58:13):
All all year long.
Speaker 2 (01:58:14):
Well, why don't we ask a guy that you two faces?
And now I'm not going to no, no, I'm talking
to face.
Speaker 1 (01:58:21):
Nothing.
Speaker 2 (01:58:21):
He's an Eagles fan until he's not, and then he's
a Rams fan until he's not.
Speaker 5 (01:58:25):
There is nothing to be happy about with the Philadelphia
Eagles right now. See, that's not true. What's good in Philadelphia?
Speaker 1 (01:58:32):
That's not true. Number One, they're eight in four in
their first place.
Speaker 4 (01:58:35):
In their division.
Speaker 5 (01:58:35):
They were they were eighting two to okay, but and.
Speaker 4 (01:58:39):
The teams lose games nobody's going un defeatd Seth.
Speaker 5 (01:58:42):
Don't you pick right now? The Eagles are the Cowboys
to win that division?
Speaker 1 (01:58:46):
Eagles Eagles, all right, so understand this. They split with
the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (01:58:50):
You you are?
Speaker 6 (01:58:52):
You are?
Speaker 5 (01:58:53):
What game are the Eagles gonna win on their schedule
because like the Bears game was the game they were
supposed to win. That Bears have no linebackers.
Speaker 1 (01:58:58):
Bo has not changed it.
Speaker 2 (01:59:00):
Bo is saying going into last year's Super Bowl, we
need an upgraded quarterback, and we need an upgraded coach.
After they won the Super Bowl in dominant fashion. You
know how many times the next day he said, we.
Speaker 1 (01:59:12):
Need an upgraded quarterback, We need an upgrade.
Speaker 5 (01:59:14):
How many times I watch Jalen Hurd's completely missed Dallas
Goddard wide open over the middle of the field.
Speaker 3 (01:59:18):
Every quarterbacks, every quarterback in the NFL mississ.
Speaker 6 (01:59:22):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (01:59:23):
It's a final.
Speaker 2 (01:59:24):
Buccaneers have defeated the Cardinals twenty to seventeen, so they
maintain a half game lead over the Panthers right now
in the NFC South, one game that is going right
down to the finish. Jets and Falcons. Jets actually trying
to win this game. It is tied to twenty four.
We got one forty eight to go right now, and
(01:59:45):
so we keep our eye on that.
Speaker 4 (01:59:47):
What's their quarterback name for the Justice play today?
Speaker 1 (01:59:49):
Who is that today?
Speaker 2 (01:59:50):
Lastly, Hey, his name, I understand this. It's it's not Tyrod,
It's Tarrod. Don't call me Tyrod Taylor. The reason I
say this is when he was in San Diego with
the Chargers briefly, somebody asked him about it and they said,
and he said, my mother, from the day I was born,
I've been to Rod Taylor until I got to the NFL,
(02:00:12):
and they started calling me Tyrod Taylor.
Speaker 1 (02:00:14):
My name is Tarrod.
Speaker 2 (02:00:16):
But and then he said, I don't really care you
want to call me TYROI call me Tyrod with my
answers to Rod. And by the way, guess what the
Saints just scored with a minute thirty eight to go.
They are a two point conversional way of tying this
game against your Miami Dolphin.
Speaker 1 (02:00:31):
It was a pretty push off not call, but I
get it.
Speaker 10 (02:00:32):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (02:00:33):
Let's go over.
Speaker 2 (02:00:33):
Time's all right, Well, we'll get a final of that
game and all the other games coming up much more
here on End Zone Radio. All right, we have a
couple of things going on right now, looks like this
Jets Falcons game is heading to overtime soon. But in
this matchup between the Dolphins and the Saints, so the
Dolphins not only stopped the two point conversion, they intercepted
(02:00:56):
the conversion attempt and ran the other way for two yards.
So the doll leave the Saints twenty one to seventeen.
The Saints attempting an on side field goal. I remember
it's almost impossible these days because both teams have to
be notified ahead of the kick. So there one's the
onside kick. I'm sorry, I got you so and so
the on side kick, and the rule is very simple.
(02:01:18):
You have to wait ten yards before the offensive player
can touch the ball. The question here is is to
review this because the Saints did recover the on side kick,
the player was behind the ten yards, but the point
of the ball might have been right at the ten
yard mark, so they are reviewing that. This is a
long review on this play. Obviously, big play here. There's
(02:01:41):
let's say a minute seventeen to go on the clock.
Speaker 3 (02:01:44):
But oh, I see what they're looking at now, if
it hit a recovery, can recover minutally, and they.
Speaker 2 (02:01:52):
Are saying it is called cal stands and it is
a first down for the Saints.
Speaker 5 (02:01:58):
Yeah, Saints, Paul, Okay, so that was a he de
did the Dolphins player?
Speaker 1 (02:02:05):
Okay, I could not understand what the Dolphin players are doing.
Speaker 2 (02:02:07):
You can grab the but you don't have to wait
ten yards if you're a Dolphin player over the on
side kick at all. And they were like trying to
avoid getting hit by the ball and somebody got it.
So minute seventeen to go, and the Saints now have
an opportunity they need again because of the two points
that the Dolphins got on the interception of the two
point conversion, a field goal is not going to do
(02:02:29):
the Saints any good.
Speaker 1 (02:02:30):
They need a touchdown if they're going to pull out
this game.
Speaker 3 (02:02:32):
And even if this goes against me, it goes against us. Squall, bro,
that's a great job by the officials. Buy the replay that, like,
get the call right. Like I'm cool with get the
call right. I'm not sure what they were looking at
because he touched the ball short, but it was clear
was short that none of the Dolphins seem anxious to
actually grab the ball, and they're trying to avoid it
hitting them, and one of the.
Speaker 1 (02:02:53):
Dolphins actually got nicked and that's all it takes.
Speaker 2 (02:02:56):
So the Saints recover the on side kick, and now
the Saints have the ball minute seventeen to go at
their own forty five yard line. Shuck at quarterback and
he gets the ball into Dolphins territory. So while that's
going on right now, the Falcons now will take over
with forty eight seconds to go here in this game
tied up with the Jets. The other game that is
(02:03:17):
now a final, and this was a big one. The
Texans defeat the Colts in Indianapolis twenty to sixteen, and
that means in that division, Colts are eight and four,
Jaguars are eight and four, and the Texans are seven
and five. Next up for the Texans a road game
against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Speaker 4 (02:03:37):
Now, you ask me who am I taking, But who
are you taking in that game?
Speaker 1 (02:03:41):
Right there? I'm going with a hot team right now.
That's the Texans.
Speaker 2 (02:03:44):
Okay, I think that at four in a row, they
have won. Now, they just won a road game against
the Colts.
Speaker 3 (02:03:48):
And they're gonna take that defense. They're gonna take that
defense in there. First of all who they take off with.
The schedule makers got at the Colts and then at
Kansas City. Well, I guess we didn't know if the
Colts are going to be this team what they're doing this,
but that seems a little harsh to send them on
two back to back Rod games like that. Tough opponent
tough teams. But I don't know, man, I got to
see the spread. I got to see the spread.
Speaker 2 (02:04:09):
I wanted to look over that, man, Jim, what do
you in case you would be about a four point favorite?
Speaker 5 (02:04:13):
I think three and a half.
Speaker 12 (02:04:14):
Four.
Speaker 3 (02:04:14):
Yeah, that is where I would think they would have
k right cause they were four and a half against
the Colts and Denver a few weeks ago, which you
were like completely completely flabbergasted about that they had that
type of the lost the game straight up and they
type of spread.
Speaker 1 (02:04:29):
But we'll see.
Speaker 3 (02:04:29):
As is fourth and one right now in thirty five
seconds left, seventeen to twenty one Dolphins and the Saints
have one play to get one yard to keep this
game going. The Dolphins can wrap this thing up. Wouldn't
surprise me, man if they If we found on a
s a.
Speaker 2 (02:04:43):
Second by the way, with that two point convert. We
were figuring out what was the We were like the
spread was three and a half. If they don't interception,
intercept that two point conversion running back, they don't cover, well,
they're up twenty one seventeen, all right, So we're down
to our fourth and one right now for the Saints,
there's thirty five seconds to play there at the thirty
five yard line.
Speaker 1 (02:05:05):
They have a time out. Stuff them, stuff them doing
stuff is not Yeah, let's see where they're gonna mark
the ball Nowhere?
Speaker 3 (02:05:17):
They ain't go nowhere. They try to touch push. First
of all, stop running the.
Speaker 1 (02:05:20):
Guys officially, Dolphins takeover, game over. Why would you do this?
Speaker 3 (02:05:25):
Stop running guys in motion and then Kellen running them
and then getting behind the quarterback really fast.
Speaker 4 (02:05:31):
It doesn't fool anybody these people.
Speaker 2 (02:05:32):
First of all, the Eagles are not even unstoppable anymore.
Speaker 1 (02:05:36):
No, they get't stopped.
Speaker 8 (02:05:37):
Well.
Speaker 2 (02:05:38):
First of all, you know that huge Bears recovery of
the Jalen Hurts fumble. People have been screaming there have
been fumbles before, but there's such a pile of bodies
you're not even looking for the ball.
Speaker 1 (02:05:50):
I don't mind. How do you feel about the tousch push.
I don't care. I know, I don't think.
Speaker 2 (02:05:54):
Like everything else, it comes to an end. And people
have already figured out the Eagles. Eagles aren't have the
same success rate without Jason Kelcey that they had in
the past.
Speaker 1 (02:06:03):
All right, okay, they aren't.
Speaker 3 (02:06:04):
Actually like you see these teams line up for the touch,
push and run some variation of like a bootleg or
like a fake or.
Speaker 1 (02:06:10):
That's where my offensive mind goes.
Speaker 3 (02:06:11):
As an offensive coordinator, I start to think, okay, fine,
we'll line up and what we're gonna do is when
we snap it to you, everybody push forward, you step back,
tackle on the outside or eligible tackle, brigate, just run
to the flats. It's gonna be wide open every single time.
Man ever, we go fourth winning five.
Speaker 2 (02:06:27):
So here we go, and again you know Vj's on record.
He has the Dolphins in the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (02:06:32):
This yos.
Speaker 2 (02:06:33):
They are now at five and seven. They still need
to win out, but you only need five more wins.
Speaker 5 (02:06:38):
That's the guy.
Speaker 1 (02:06:39):
Listen to ten and seven and take your chances. Jets.
Speaker 2 (02:06:43):
Falcons gained has no bearing on anything really outside of
the fact this game is gonna get extended.
Speaker 1 (02:06:49):
It looks like at all.
Speaker 2 (02:06:50):
The Jets are trying to get themselves into field goal
range for Nick Folk.
Speaker 1 (02:06:55):
How many years has this guy been in the league?
I mean serious, I know, I thought, I don't got
a grands on that kicks in the league.
Speaker 4 (02:07:00):
He'd been for a minute.
Speaker 1 (02:07:01):
Some of these kickers, man, they just go on and
on when you.
Speaker 3 (02:07:04):
Kick forever if you could, though, of course Morten Anderson
and Gary Anderson again, do you know I used to
work for the Raiders?
Speaker 1 (02:07:11):
Did you used to work for the Raiders?
Speaker 10 (02:07:12):
I did.
Speaker 1 (02:07:13):
But the story was it was before my time.
Speaker 2 (02:07:15):
George blanda who cool so the Hall of Famer who
played until he was forty eight years old, still is
the kicker the Ray. The Raiders told him that he
was no longer going to be the kicker. They actually
had all the players lined up. This was during training camp,
and I don't know, coach has said something like, all right,
everyone that thinks they're going to make this football team,
(02:07:37):
take one step forward. And though everybody took a step forward,
and somebody pointed at Bland and saying, what are you doing.
Speaker 10 (02:07:46):
Up? I've done it.
Speaker 1 (02:07:50):
When they decided it was a.
Speaker 3 (02:07:52):
Football is the most cutthrow sport on God's Earth. There's
not a more cut and there's not a more cutthroat lead.
I've been saying for years, if you want to give
a pro athlete a guarantee contract, it needs to be
an NFL player in baseball and basketball getting guarantee two
hundred and twenty five three hundred million dollars, but a
(02:08:12):
football player's life expectancy on averages three and a half years.
Speaker 1 (02:08:17):
Think about it, you guys.
Speaker 3 (02:08:18):
Don't give them one hundred percent guarantee contracts to everybody,
and some straight.
Speaker 1 (02:08:22):
Bs to me. So why I joined the Raiders after
winning a Super Bowl? All right?
Speaker 2 (02:08:26):
They blew out the Redskins in the Super Bowl, and
three years later on because I joined him right after
they won the Super Bowl, half of the starters from
that Super Bowl team are gone. So I'm walking on
a team like all these guys, you know, super Bowl champions,
everything else.
Speaker 1 (02:08:41):
It's such a quick turnaround in the NFL. It's crazy.
Nick Folk looked like the manager from Denny's. Yeah he does.
Speaker 3 (02:08:50):
Man, it looks like the older guy that wants the
part time job. He's the one to highlight your receipt
at Walmart as you're leaving.
Speaker 2 (02:08:54):
All right, right now. We got Raheem Morris on the sidelines.
Not been a good year for Raheem is he gonna
survive in Atlanta?
Speaker 1 (02:09:01):
And you know what it will be here.
Speaker 3 (02:09:02):
Here's the thing that I always agree with what I
hear certain people say. I agree with it too. I
don't mind a defensive coach, I really don't. But in
today's NFL, you need an offensive If your head coach
is not going to be super offensive minded, then you
better have one of the best offensive coordinators I E.
Speaker 2 (02:09:20):
I e.
Speaker 3 (02:09:21):
The Lions last year, Dan Campbell, right, and you have
Ben Johnson. Now, Ben Johnson's gone in a fence if.
Speaker 1 (02:09:27):
You believe what just happened here.
Speaker 2 (02:09:28):
So they were down at the thirty three yard line
of the Falcons, which would make it a fifty yard
field goal with twelve seconds left, and the Jets two
guys jumped.
Speaker 1 (02:09:38):
The whole offensive line jumped.
Speaker 2 (02:09:41):
Oh my, So instead of a fifty yard field goal,
now you're staring at a fifty five yard field goal.
Speaker 3 (02:09:48):
Oh and, just in case anybody was just like, what
the hell Rossmer who's the quarterback for the Vikings today? Yeah,
he's getting tossed a round behind this offensive line. In
this play calling. So if anybody wants to know, he's
two for two for seven yard. I mean, just watch
the play. It's the same stuff that's been happening every week.
And I keep saying, when do we start to blame
other pieces?
Speaker 4 (02:10:06):
And I'm Greg. Greg said what he saying.
Speaker 1 (02:10:08):
Greg, it's one of the best defenses.
Speaker 4 (02:10:10):
I don't know, Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 3 (02:10:11):
He's said Seahawks are not one of the best. No, no,
but they faced all they faced on the great defense.
This isn't the only great defense in the NFL. They face,
they face We're in week thirteen. They faced other good defenses.
But I love what Greg said. There's equal blame to
go around. I just want to know when does he
get to the coach?
Speaker 1 (02:10:27):
Okay, well, when you go from a fourteen and three
season to potentation doesn't matter in eight last year doesn't matter. Well,
obviously it does. If you were a coach, you were
the garret.
Speaker 3 (02:10:35):
So then we got to start to play. Listen, if
you have that big of a swing, it's more than
just a rookie quarterback.
Speaker 2 (02:10:40):
The Jets are throwing the ball all over the place,
so they can't complete a pass. So we're going to
stay right here as Nick Folk, it's going to try
to give the Jets their third win of the season.
This is going to be a fifty five yarder and
it is also wet. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:10:54):
There he missed short earlier to day in the all right,
call it what you got, buddy, fifty six he's gonna
miss uncle Nick, go get this one from me.
Speaker 10 (02:11:02):
Man.
Speaker 4 (02:11:02):
I might I hate the Jets, but officially.
Speaker 1 (02:11:04):
An old six yard field goal atty.
Speaker 2 (02:11:07):
Otherwise, this game is going to go to overtime, and
the kick is money, and the kick is a low
line drive.
Speaker 14 (02:11:20):
That thing was never that on my field goal insane.
That was a literally a live, barely screamage light drive.
A light drive.
Speaker 1 (02:11:32):
It didn't have any arc.
Speaker 2 (02:11:33):
It was drive that's snuck in barely over the crossbar,
and the Jets get the win over the Falcons twenty seven.
Speaker 1 (02:11:42):
High Money on the money calls man, money, there you go.
Speaker 6 (02:11:46):
Kick the ball.
Speaker 1 (02:11:47):
I'm like, oh my god, he squid it. I'm freaking
real man. Wow, that's a five iron right there.
Speaker 3 (02:11:55):
Man.
Speaker 2 (02:11:55):
So the morning games are in the books. We got
one game on the way right now, two more about
to kick off. This is end Zone Radio.
Speaker 1 (02:12:03):
JT.
Speaker 8 (02:12:04):
Jess it's gonna be a fifty six yard field goal
attempt from the right hash in rainy conditions here at
Medlife Stadium to.
Speaker 1 (02:12:12):
Try and win it.
Speaker 8 (02:12:13):
There's the snap, the kick is on the way. It's
a line track towards the upright set.
Speaker 1 (02:12:18):
Ask God. Nick Funk puts it through.
Speaker 8 (02:12:23):
No time on the clock of fifty six yard game
winning field call, and the Jets mop the folk Hero
at midfield.
Speaker 1 (02:12:32):
They've won it, twenty seven to twenty four. That's Q
one zero four point three Jets Radio Network.
Speaker 2 (02:12:38):
Crazy kick, just a line shot, and it was good
enough to give the Jets their third win of the season.
Speaker 1 (02:12:45):
This is End Zone Radio.
Speaker 2 (02:12:47):
Harbin Husky with you in the Fox Sports Radio studios.
We have a programming note coming up here VJ. In
fifteen minutes, we'll be doing our updated Power five. Yeah,
we did not do it earlier, but I'm thinking this
right now for the balance of this year. Now we're
(02:13:07):
down the stretch, final third of the regular season. I'm
thinking in our final half hour after the morning games
have been played in the books up to the date
hour five.
Speaker 4 (02:13:21):
It be our first time doing it that way because
to use the current Sunday we go off.
Speaker 1 (02:13:25):
Now we have that extra games are in the books,
so full sledy games have been in the books.
Speaker 6 (02:13:31):
I like it.
Speaker 2 (02:13:31):
Plus we have you had four eleven games are even
played this week, absolutely all right, So we're gonna do
an up to date that will.
Speaker 1 (02:13:38):
Be coming up at the bottom of the hour power five.
Right currently in.
Speaker 2 (02:13:42):
The NFL, and a lot of things have happened, right,
let me update a couple of things for as far
as the standings are concerned. Jacksonville wins the tie break
with Indianapolis, so Jacksonville is now the three seed behind
the Patriot it's in the Broncos. In the AFC, the
Colts now are the five seed, Chargers six bill seven,
(02:14:06):
so the Texans are still a half game out of
the playoffs. Chiefs and Ravens at six and six are
both a game behind the Texans. That's how far they're back.
Bears are now the number one seed in the West.
They win the tie break over the Rams, Eagles, Buccaneers,
and then your wild cards right now are the Seahawks,
the Packers, and the forty nine ers. And by the way,
(02:14:29):
with the forty nine Ers winning today, they're starting to
put a little distance between themselves.
Speaker 1 (02:14:33):
The Lions need to do something quick because they are.
Speaker 2 (02:14:37):
A game and a half out lines are done, and
all these people talking about the Cowboys, Cowboys need a miracle.
Speaker 1 (02:14:43):
Okay, folks, the bottom line, they need a miracle.
Speaker 2 (02:14:45):
They're back because you've got already in the NFC six
teams that have won at least eight games. The Cowboys
have won six. I mean, the Panthers have won seven.
So yeah, that's the of work to do anyway. So
we'll have our power rankings coming up here shortly. All right,
So the game that is underway right now, by the way,
(02:15:07):
the Vikings defense holding strong.
Speaker 1 (02:15:09):
That's one thing you can't deny the Vikings.
Speaker 2 (02:15:11):
They have a defense, and so Sam Darnold is going
to be challenges like the Vikings offense is going to
be challenged going up against the Seahawks. As you mentioned,
Brosmer is a brosmur or Brosmer, the quarterback for the back.
Speaker 1 (02:15:26):
I haven't bra bros bros bros Brose bros Use he's
a bro dude. Yeah, he's a bro bro bro the Brosmer.
Speaker 2 (02:15:34):
Well, right now, Brosmer has negative three net yards passing,
so he's off to a good start.
Speaker 1 (02:15:39):
What's the status now of JJ McCarthy. If I were them,
I probably sait them for the year. What do you
keep saying, sitting people for the year. They want to playing.
I don't care to get some opportunities to play games.
Speaker 3 (02:15:50):
In the NFL, because number one, you protect yourself. Number one,
you're protect us number one.
Speaker 1 (02:15:57):
Try to get better.
Speaker 4 (02:15:59):
Well, it doesn't look who.
Speaker 3 (02:16:00):
No matter who they put back there, it's just not
working this year. So if he's still going to be
your future guy, go ahead and give bro go and
give Brozmur bro go ahead and give the bro some
rep I mean, hell, you know you broke down carts
and wentz you already sent him off packing. I would
just see what's up. They talk about a concussion, so
you just want to be careful with concussions. This is
your future quarterback. You don't want to throw them out
(02:16:21):
there if they could still be any lingering. Uh, it's healthy, healthy, obviously.
Speaker 1 (02:16:27):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (02:16:28):
I think they'll probably give Brozmur this start that they
he'll probably and it depends on how he plays the day.
And then also let's flip on the other quarterback side,
because we're so fast and I I got tired of
really hearing about well they had Sam.
Speaker 1 (02:16:38):
Donald lot there.
Speaker 3 (02:16:39):
Sam Donald's had one good year in the NFL, and
all of a sudden, we're now now Sam Donald's gonna
save your franchise. And then he goes out and throws
four interceptions right when.
Speaker 1 (02:16:46):
All the talking.
Speaker 3 (02:16:49):
Game and it was a terrible game. Four interceptions. Okay,
so let's see game. Let's see how he continues to
as the season moves on. Like I said, it's like
the movie Guided than Me Man, Sammy de Bull Gravano
snitches at the end. It doesn't you wish you would change,
so it never bought down the Gambino family and put
John Gudy in prison for the rest of the life
(02:17:10):
to dine in prison in two thousand and one.
Speaker 1 (02:17:11):
But the end of the movie doesn't change.
Speaker 3 (02:17:13):
Sam Darnold's gonna give it up like an ig thought
it All Star weekend man giving.
Speaker 2 (02:17:18):
It up, Chargers coming off a bye week after that
ugly blow lost to Jacksonville. I was playing a lot
of tape last night at Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert,
and some of their comments say they made it clear,
well Herbert, especially that you know we needed some time off.
I mean, it's been a long grind. We've been grinding, grinding, grinding,
(02:17:38):
and they so they got a week off and we'll see.
I mean, it's nothing better than having a week off
and then hosting the Raiders.
Speaker 1 (02:17:44):
Yeah, no, we can't do that. Remember, we're not doing that.
We're not doing you. I understand that. I get to that.
I mean the Raiders right now.
Speaker 2 (02:17:51):
How about the stories about Chip Kelly literally sending in
place where Gino Smith would.
Speaker 1 (02:17:57):
Go to the line and not even know what Like
this is all right? I called it, man, what is
going on? He Tojo.
Speaker 3 (02:18:02):
So when I saw him fired, almost text you him
bo my day morning I saw he was fired, I said, yeah,
I told you guys.
Speaker 2 (02:18:08):
Pete Carroll is absolutely denying any of these sorts because obviously,
if you're the head coach and players are coming down
from your offensive coordinator and they are not working, and
you're watching film every week, obviously I would think if
you're a head coach like you maybe checking out, like hell,
what the hell's going on with our offense?
Speaker 1 (02:18:24):
And you don't notice anything. I mean these.
Speaker 2 (02:18:26):
Reports that you know, pel Sero said that it was
about sending him plays that weren't even in the Raider playbooks.
Speaker 3 (02:18:34):
Gino tried to warn us subliminally. He tried to warn
us multiple times, and then he finally just said, blame me.
If your kids backed up his school, blame me. If
you get called traffic on the way to work, Blame
me if something doesn't happen. Just he was trying to
tell you, guys, listen, you guys are just gonna blame
me anyway.
Speaker 1 (02:18:52):
I want to tell you so bad. This guy has
no idea what the hell.
Speaker 2 (02:18:55):
He's But then that's on Pete Carroll. I mean, you
you handed this guy. Understand this, Understand this. Chip Kelly
was the highest paid assistant coach in the history of
the NFL six million a year and got fired six
million of years what they gave him to be the
offensive coordinator of the Vegas Raiders six million a year.
Speaker 1 (02:19:21):
That doesn't reflect though, on the on the head coach.
I mean, you know, he's gone. He's got to be.
Pet's gone, right, he has to be. He has to be.
Speaker 3 (02:19:28):
Do you think Tom Brady's gonna have his name attached
to something like this? And I don't know how much
power Tom got. I remember throwing that question in the
Bowl light back in week two or week three? Like,
how much power does Brady really have? But I tell
you one thing that I know this is Brady too.
Speaker 4 (02:19:42):
He's not good.
Speaker 1 (02:19:42):
But okay, so doesn't he in the room when they
hired Chip Kelly?
Speaker 3 (02:19:45):
And then guess what, you know what they do? They
realize they make a mistake and they fired him, and
it might go to Pete. Now, I don't think it'll
be ugly. I think it'll be a very cordial conversation
with Pece said, look, we want to give you the respect.
Speaker 1 (02:19:56):
We don't want to make it look ugly. But did
he just pass the Hall of Fame by this one
year with the Raiders? No, one year can't call you
the hall of fame.
Speaker 4 (02:20:04):
It just might pay one year. If that's the case,
then what are we doing?
Speaker 3 (02:20:07):
Just like with Sam Donald one year, all of a
sudden he made everybody think Sam Donald's great again?
Speaker 1 (02:20:12):
Awful? One Donald is really good this year except for
one game. All right, let's let it play out.
Speaker 4 (02:20:17):
Let's let it play out.
Speaker 1 (02:20:18):
Well, okay, so how long has he been in the league?
Speaker 4 (02:20:20):
Eight years? Seven or eight years?
Speaker 8 (02:20:21):
Right?
Speaker 1 (02:20:21):
Okay? As long as Baker Mayfield. So two out of
eight years and.
Speaker 3 (02:20:25):
He's good, come on, man, like, once again, what do
we If that's the case, then let's just say that
with everybody.
Speaker 1 (02:20:30):
Then all right, Raiders, Raiders underway right now.
Speaker 2 (02:20:33):
Let's see this new offense toier looks the same as
the Chargers immediately get a sack.
Speaker 1 (02:20:37):
Sacked, oh hey, and a fumble. It looks like here
and it looks like they got there. There's no officials.
I know the Chargers.
Speaker 3 (02:20:43):
They're saying, no, okay, so fourth down coming up, gotta
put gotta put three and out.
Speaker 1 (02:20:47):
Yeah, so no fumble, no fumble, Chargers jumping up and
now this thing is just all right.
Speaker 2 (02:20:52):
So the other game obviously kicking off right now, Bill's
at the Steelers, and this one has huge ramifications right now.
So the Steelers they caught a break with the Ravens losing,
big break, huge break. So if the Steelers can prevail
today at home against the Bills, they would have a
one game lead in their division.
Speaker 3 (02:21:11):
How is this not the five to twenty late game?
How do we get Broncos in command? How did the
NFL give us Broncos and commanders? I don't over air
Rodgers and and and Josh Appleton over allen for.
Speaker 2 (02:21:22):
The whole nation to watch. Whose quarterback game for the
commander is Jaon dials in there?
Speaker 1 (02:21:26):
No, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (02:21:27):
He couldn't be that way. That way, that's help out.
Oh Jaydon Davis could be done for the year.
Speaker 1 (02:21:32):
Are you kidding me? There? You would bring say, is
Jaydon Daniels? What's this?
Speaker 4 (02:21:35):
Mario just starts tonight? Correct if I'm not mistaken?
Speaker 11 (02:21:38):
An He did go to practice this week and participated,
but there is no word on if he's going to
return at all this season, but he was a participant in.
Speaker 1 (02:21:50):
Practicesree in a week third team the last quarter.
Speaker 2 (02:21:53):
I apologize to you about the Marcus Mariota thing. The
reason I'm so because his name is Marcus Mariota, and
you have people call Mariota all the time, and it's like, no,
it's it's not Marcus Mariota, it's Marcus Mariota.
Speaker 1 (02:22:08):
Said, who calls him Maricus?
Speaker 2 (02:22:09):
Well, because you're calling him Mariota, so you'd be Marcus
Marios Marcus Mario. You remember this about Gonzaga, Remember they
they used to call and then they call themselves that
they're the Bulldogs, but they call themselves the zag You know,
why they did that so people would understand it's Gonzaga.
Speaker 1 (02:22:27):
It's not the Zogs, right, it's the zagh Is that
why they did that? Yes, they're the Bulldogs, so people
like me would So how do you say it? It's
go It's not Gonzaga the Dogs.
Speaker 2 (02:22:40):
They saw nickname the SAgs, So people actually know how
to pronounce the name.
Speaker 4 (02:22:45):
Mark, give me a like. Listen man him in the fighting.
Speaker 1 (02:22:48):
By the way, do you see them lose to Michigan
by forty?
Speaker 3 (02:22:50):
What?
Speaker 1 (02:22:52):
Forty?
Speaker 8 (02:22:53):
What?
Speaker 1 (02:22:54):
That Michigan team that makes three straight games where they
won by forty, thirty and forty is getting pretty ugly.
But pronunciations, just listen, man, if it's your name, okay, So.
Speaker 2 (02:23:05):
Then why don't we say if somewhere, if if people
called you Huski over and over again, would you say,
my name is Husky.
Speaker 3 (02:23:14):
But I listen by people say Husky because I've gotten Husky.
Speaker 4 (02:23:19):
I've gotten if you had a.
Speaker 1 (02:23:20):
Bigger and gentlemen here, he is one of the giants
of our industry. VJ. Huski, and you would.
Speaker 3 (02:23:28):
Say, I get more sat when it's misspelled, I get oh, yeah,
when you forget the E, I get more Yeah, I
get I get because when people say, when I get
my name J VJ Vernon Husky spell form v R
A V W J Y h U s k e
y like the dog with the knee. That's how I
tell people. Last name is Husky, like the dog with
a knee. All right, where you put the e?
Speaker 1 (02:23:49):
All right?
Speaker 2 (02:23:50):
We got our power fives coming up, but first let's
find out what is Trenty Monsey seven games in the
books today?
Speaker 1 (02:23:57):
Because if you got to ask where the egoes, you're dumb.
Speaker 9 (02:24:00):
Huski. You're right, you better be lucky.
Speaker 1 (02:24:05):
I love the way you say.
Speaker 2 (02:24:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (02:24:07):
Listen, everyone mispronounces my name my entire life like it
does not though, because my name is not normal.
Speaker 1 (02:24:14):
But if you look at it, you see her first
name is say mons.
Speaker 4 (02:24:19):
No that that mark has taught you to pronounce the E.
Speaker 1 (02:24:24):
But I don't have it.
Speaker 6 (02:24:24):
I don't have it.
Speaker 1 (02:24:25):
I've seen it.
Speaker 2 (02:24:27):
I don't have Maybe I wrote it. Maybe my phone
se NSC. It's like the word house h O U
s C. It's not housey, right, you say mons?
Speaker 4 (02:24:36):
So do you guys say Miami?
Speaker 9 (02:24:38):
Miami?
Speaker 1 (02:24:38):
Thank you?
Speaker 4 (02:24:39):
You know it's Miami. It's not Miami, but it's Miami.
Speaker 1 (02:24:44):
Both by the way.
Speaker 2 (02:24:46):
Do you know Hawaii is actually spelled with an apostrophe I.
The correct spell in Hawaii is not h A W
A I I, it's apostrophe.
Speaker 1 (02:24:55):
Yes, Ever see the apostrophe anybody.
Speaker 4 (02:24:58):
How lazy we are in America, we just change everything.
Speaker 3 (02:25:01):
It's not Argentina's Argentina.
Speaker 13 (02:25:06):
And yes, Mexico Mexico, Mexico, not Mexico, but it's Mexico
and Mexico.
Speaker 9 (02:25:17):
See as somebody. Okay, if you can't say monster in Spanish,
that doesn't bother me, but people can't write.
Speaker 11 (02:25:24):
So I rather you call me Monsey than butcher the
way it's said in suspense.
Speaker 1 (02:25:30):
I like that said.
Speaker 9 (02:25:32):
No, don't call me on my mom calls me that.
Speaker 11 (02:25:33):
But the point, Like the point is like I feel like,
if you're going to butcher it in one way, say
it the other way.
Speaker 9 (02:25:39):
So if you can't say Mexico Mexico, do you.
Speaker 1 (02:25:41):
Get what I'm saying? You got what I'm coming from
on that side?
Speaker 11 (02:25:43):
Yeah, America we just mispronounce stuff, all right, All right, guys,
we'll start with the NFL. There are three games going
on right now. All of these are scoreless, and they're
all early in the first quarter. Except for the Vikings
in the Seahawks. That's late in the first quarter. But
what already happened today, Well, the Panthers had a thirty
one to twenty eight set win over the Rams. Were
bryce Young through for two hundred and six yards and
(02:26:04):
three touchdowns. Matthew Stafford threw for two hundred and forty
three yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions, one was a pick six.
He also lost a fumble late in the fourth quarter
that sealed the win for Carolina.
Speaker 9 (02:26:16):
Before his first.
Speaker 11 (02:26:17):
Pick, Stafford had set a new NFL record twenty eight
straight touchdown passes without an interception. Following this Rams loss,
the Bears are now first in the NFC. The forty
nine Ers Crews passed the Browns twenty six to eight.
Buccaneers held on twenty to seventeen against the Cardinals, The
Texans held on twenty to sixteen against the Colts. Jaguars
(02:26:38):
rolled past the Tits twenty five to three, Dolphins survived
twenty one to seventeen against the Saints, and the Jets
walked it off with the fifty six yard field goal
to defeat the Falcons twenty seven to twenty four. When
it comes to college football, Lane Kiffin announced that he
has accepted the head coaching position.
Speaker 9 (02:26:55):
At LSU and that he's not going to coach the
team through.
Speaker 11 (02:26:58):
The College Football Playoff because his request was denied by
athletic director Keith Carter.
Speaker 9 (02:27:03):
Rebels defensive coordinator Pete Golding is expected to be their
new head coach.
Speaker 11 (02:27:07):
Michigan State reports are that they're hiring former Northwestern coach
Pat Fitzgerald to be their new coach.
Speaker 9 (02:27:14):
Oh yeah, whoa yeah, those are reports.
Speaker 11 (02:27:18):
Florida finalizing a six year to make Tulane's John Summerle
their head coach, and Auburn has hired Florida's Alex Golish
as their next head coach.
Speaker 2 (02:27:26):
Wow, a lot of news, a lot of news. Alem
Barney's still alive apparently okay good.
Speaker 4 (02:27:33):
And Lane Kiffin go to the NFL.
Speaker 1 (02:27:35):
Now he didn't.
Speaker 3 (02:27:37):
All right.
Speaker 2 (02:27:37):
Mon's a great stuffisode always, thank you very much. Once again,
we're h end Zone ready to hear in the Fox

All right, it is that time the Power five. All right,
so this is where we give you a power fire.
We're gonna change it up now.
Speaker 2 (02:28:11):
Now this is gonna be the time we're gonna do
our Power five after the morning games are over. This
is up to eight yeah, all right, so I'm gonna
go first, all right, My current number five. All right,
my current number five are the defending Super Bowl champion
Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 1 (02:28:30):
I still have them in in the top five. I
haven't given up on the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (02:28:34):
Yes, back to back losses to the Cowboys and the Bears,
but I still have to say until somebody knocks them off,
the Eagles are one of the elite at eight and
four right now, still sitting at the three seed in
the NFC East, number one.
Speaker 1 (02:28:48):
So I have Philadelphia at number five.
Speaker 3 (02:28:50):
My number five team they got back in my top
five I dropped them out are the Green Bay Packers.
Speaker 4 (02:28:55):
I really do like this team. I like this office
eight three and one.
Speaker 3 (02:28:58):
That one is gonna help them with that high forty
two forty two to the Dallas Cowboys on the road
four to one and one, three and zero in the
division right now, three game winningdustry and next week plus
an ending week matchup against the Bears is gonna determine
the NFC North. Love the way they looked on Thanksgiving,
going on the road and beating up on the lines,
putting up a bunch of points on them.
Speaker 4 (02:29:18):
Packers are back in my top five at number five.
Speaker 1 (02:29:20):
How are you going? Number four? I go number four for.
Speaker 3 (02:29:23):
The first time, making their first appearance and my top five.
Give me the Chicago Bears right here, man, no biasess
or anything, just putting film on, watching what Ben Johnson
is doing with this team. Caleb Williams is that guy.
He's got improvement guys and things to work on. But
you can see the stuff that was said about him
in college. When you get with a competent NFL coach,
those are when we start to see those things. Come
(02:29:45):
to four is give me the Chicago Bears sitting at
number four in my top five, sitting at nine to three,
first place in the NFC North.
Speaker 2 (02:29:50):
All right, My number four is the current number one
seed in the AFC. That would be the New England Patriots.
All right, So again nothing wrong here, ten and two
winning games, I still don't have them with the top
three teams on my current list, and my current number
three is the team sitting right behind them in the AFC.
That would be the Denver Broncos. Now, this Denver Bronco
(02:30:12):
team outstanding defense. And I'm still into the Sean Payton thing.
A lot of people here hate Sean Payton. No one
hates some more than Bo Benson hate Seawan.
Speaker 1 (02:30:20):
I do you hate him? A lot of people hate him.
I don't. I like him a lot, and I have
a picture with him.
Speaker 2 (02:30:25):
So I still think because of their defense, which I
think is far more elite than what New England has defensively,
I give them the slide edge. So the number two
seed currently and the AFC is my number three team
in my power rankings.
Speaker 3 (02:30:38):
The Denver Broncos, my number three team, took a slip,
and that's the hometown La Rams. After what we did
see today, we're adding at it. So with today, going
across country is hard, and I get that, but this
is a team that they probably should have been Matthew Stafford.
Once we start calling them the MVP throws two picks today,
good running game, ground game today with Kyl Williams and
with my man.
Speaker 4 (02:30:57):
Blake the great Corp Corp. I still believe in this team.
I still love the defense. I still love McVeigh.
Speaker 3 (02:31:02):
But just this week, right now, they were number two
over the last three weeks for me at my power five,
I slipped them down to the number three spot because
that is a loss on the row that we do
have to calculate it till today. But I still love
what they could be in the playoffs. Matthew Stafford's not
gonna play that bad Devontae Adams fourteen touchdown catches so
far as he's gonna know what, sixteen or seventeen, they'll
be fine.
Speaker 4 (02:31:21):
But right now they're sitting at number three in my power.
Speaker 3 (02:31:23):
Number two has fallen for number one for me, and
that is the Philadelphia Eagles. I did drop them down
for number one, down to number two. They do have
back to back losses. It was not pretty on Friday.
Does not mean I don't still believe in them moving forward.
I completely still believe in them moving forward. They'll write
this ship. There's still more football, a whole month to
be played, five more games to go on a four
(02:31:44):
and one run right here and end up at twelve
and five and kind of quite a lot of this noise.
Aj Brown starting to wake up a little bit. Back
to back games, he's catching touchdown passes. Give me Philly
at number door.
Speaker 1 (02:31:55):
All right, My number two team right now is the
Chicago Bears.
Speaker 2 (02:31:58):
Any team that can go up against the defending Super
Bowl champions and run for two hundred and eighty one
yards on the road.
Speaker 1 (02:32:06):
That catches my attention. And what Ben Johnson is doing
there is for real.
Speaker 2 (02:32:11):
This guy has completely changed the mentality of the Chicago
Bears team. They are hot right now and I have
catapulted them to number two. But my number one is
not changed. Because of today's lost Carolina, the Los Angeles
Rams to me were a runaway number one going into
this week. The margin has narrowed, obviously, but a tough
(02:32:33):
road to go on the road against the Panthers team
that played extremely well today does not knock me off
the Rams. I have the Rams still as the number
one team in the National Football.
Speaker 4 (02:32:46):
League and my number one seed.
Speaker 3 (02:32:47):
For everybody out there that knows my fanhood, please do
not fall off your couches or run off the road.
Or anything like that if you're driving your car right now.
But I just gotta go with the numbers man and
just the tape that I've also seen. We may not
trust their quarterback because he's young. Plus ninety two and
point different chal nine wins in a row, three and
on the Division six and on the road, over three
hundred points score so far this year, and sitting at
ten and two with the best record in all of
(02:33:08):
the National Football League.
Speaker 4 (02:33:10):
Bye Thanksgiving, guys, that's not a fluke.
Speaker 3 (02:33:12):
That means something, and that's the New England Patriots. I
think Vrabel is a great coach. He's just tough, nose,
hard mind. He always teaches his team. They're very fundamentally sound.
They don't give game is the thing. They don't give
games away. You have to go beat them. If you
think about the Cincinnati game, and if you think about
the Dolphins game, and if you think about the Jets game,
even when you think about there was another game they
(02:33:34):
had the Browns played them tight early. But then that
one got that had the Titians played them tight early,
that one got that they're not gonna give you the game.
You're gonna have to go beat this team. We'll see
what making doing the playoffs. It'll be new for him.
But as right now, ten and two speaks for itself.
Give me the new England Patriots at number one.
Speaker 2 (02:33:50):
I haven't had number four and I know there are
people screaming at the radio right now. Let's see, dude,
who have they played? And again my answer is who
has a played?
Speaker 1 (02:34:02):
All right? So Patriots? I have no problem with that.
All right, So that's our power five coming up on
the other side.
Speaker 2 (02:34:08):
Will not only tell you what's going on with the
three games right now, we'll get you ready for tonight.
Speaker 1 (02:34:12):
We'll get you ready for tomorrow. This is en Zon
Radio all.
Speaker 2 (02:34:16):
Right once again here end Zone Radio. We're in the
Fox Sports Radio studios. Want to thank our crew today, Masie,
whose name is overs pronounced because she is that worldwide
known these days.
Speaker 1 (02:34:32):
Yeah, blanos A nice try there. Kada is that kadab?
Speaker 2 (02:34:40):
It was?
Speaker 11 (02:34:40):
It was Kevin literally this past week like yesterday, really well,
not like yesterday, but this past week really still.
Speaker 1 (02:34:48):
Can't pronounce it, Bologna.
Speaker 9 (02:34:54):
I didn't know what he was saying.
Speaker 1 (02:34:56):
That's not good.
Speaker 2 (02:34:58):
How excited I've been hanging out all weekend with my
dear friend Alex. Alex is always great to see here,
one of our true legends here at Fox Sports Radio,
the technician man.
Speaker 1 (02:35:09):
And you know I get that.
Speaker 2 (02:35:11):
You know, like legends, that also means you've just been
around a long time, Alex. That's what happens when you
get to that legend. Oh, you're like a legend. It's like, yeah,
you've been around a long time.
Speaker 1 (02:35:20):
That's better for not being That's better than not being
exactly and forgotten that right, receive just don't like sports,
you'll stay around exactly. And that's that's Alex to the tee.
And then there's Bo.
Speaker 2 (02:35:32):
By the way, I got both of you yesterday and today,
and it's great to see both of you.
Speaker 3 (02:35:36):
Bo.
Speaker 1 (02:35:37):
And are you Are you surprised the Rams lost to.
Speaker 5 (02:35:41):
We talked about it earlier. Cross country favorites.
Speaker 1 (02:35:45):
They were ten point favorites.
Speaker 5 (02:35:46):
You're not going to win Carolina, You're not going to
win mini games.
Speaker 2 (02:35:49):
Well, let me ask you this, what is your current now?
I still have the Rams at number one. Who's your
number one currently in the NFL?
Speaker 5 (02:35:58):
Probably the Rams. If I did a top five, I
would say the Rams, Seattle, Chicago, Philly, no WAYFC teams. Yeah,
probably the Broncos sneaking in there all right, over.
Speaker 1 (02:36:12):
The Broncos over Patriots.
Speaker 2 (02:36:14):
Yeah, neither one of us had the Seahawks in the top.
He hates the Seahawks because he thinks they have the
worst overrated quarterback in the league.
Speaker 5 (02:36:20):
And I did have a question for you guys though,
because I don't think we really talked about it today. Uh,
would you argue in favor of Texas being in the
postseason and college football?
Speaker 1 (02:36:30):
Absolutely?
Speaker 2 (02:36:32):
Well, look, if you knock off A and M. I mean,
that was an impressive win and you're playing your best
football at the end of the year, it's going to
be interesting if they pull one on Old Miss.
Speaker 5 (02:36:40):
If Texas is in the playoff, then we should just
cancel the playoff entirely.
Speaker 2 (02:36:44):
Well, I understand what you're saying. But if they put
Texas in and leave Old Miss.
Speaker 3 (02:36:48):
Out, well that's what they want to do because Lane's
not going to be there. Because now listen, sent it's
about the Florida State thing. It's not even you're they're
making us and it's not a real playoff anymore.
Speaker 5 (02:36:58):
No, it's not if to me, the argument for Texas
ends when you say, yeah, they lost to Florida, three losses,
with one of those being to Florida, two overtime games
against Kentucky.
Speaker 1 (02:37:07):
Wins, three wins against tomp ten teams.
Speaker 5 (02:37:09):
Yeah, but they lost.
Speaker 2 (02:37:10):
Alabama lost to Florida State, right right, and they lost
to Florida State. Let me ask you this, if Alabama
loses the SEC championship.
Speaker 1 (02:37:20):
Right, do you kick them out? They kick them out
the playoffs? Are they out there?
Speaker 6 (02:37:23):
Out?
Speaker 5 (02:37:24):
And I think you put Notre Dame in, so.
Speaker 1 (02:37:26):
You think Notre Dame's on the babble.
Speaker 5 (02:37:28):
I think the issue here is that twelve teams is
too many.
Speaker 2 (02:37:30):
Right, Well, first of all, it's either too many or
too few. I know it's the idea of I think
the IR bye is a disaster. There should not be
a bye in a college football playoff. Either have eight
teams or you got sixteen teams.
Speaker 6 (02:37:43):
Six.
Speaker 2 (02:37:43):
There should not be a buy six teams, no eight
sixteens no byes. Bys do not work on the college left.
Speaker 3 (02:37:50):
You want to do buy if you want to do
atus about money, if you want to do realistic in
logic four.
Speaker 1 (02:37:55):
Your sixteens conference champions why not? Why not?
Speaker 4 (02:38:00):
You won your conference championship?
Speaker 10 (02:38:01):
Why not?
Speaker 4 (02:38:02):
Because the seven and five duke team can get in it.
Speaker 1 (02:38:05):
Thank you.
Speaker 5 (02:38:07):
We're gonna have North Texas in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (02:38:08):
And come on, I mean, think about these conference championship
you got BYU against Texas Tech.
Speaker 1 (02:38:16):
I mean, anyone picked that one is like a conference
champions anybody?
Speaker 3 (02:38:20):
Do anybody okay, those four teams you just named in
all honesty, do any of you think that any of
those four teams have a legitimate shot to win a
national championship?
Speaker 4 (02:38:28):
A simple just just or no?
Speaker 5 (02:38:30):
We uh, we have some late news here in the NFL.
Trey Lance has replaced Justin Herbert, who appeared to hurt
his left hand.
Speaker 1 (02:38:36):
Oh I see him right now running off the field
right now. Chargers lead this game seven and nothing. By
the way, answer that question, those four teens were just named,
Steve Senno, Yeah, no, okay.
Speaker 5 (02:38:48):
No, yeah, Harvers Tech maybe, but not a shot.
Speaker 1 (02:38:51):
So you think if Alabama loses the SEC championship game,
they're out?
Speaker 5 (02:38:55):
I think three losses is my So you would.
Speaker 1 (02:38:58):
Have Alabama out, Mississippi out in Texas in.
Speaker 5 (02:39:01):
No, I would have all missing. You know, I don't
care about link I leaving. You don't hurt the players,
And I'm with you one loss with three losses. I
just the argument for Texas is so stupid to me.
You lost to Florida, Like, I'm sorry, what would.
Speaker 1 (02:39:13):
Keep them out?
Speaker 3 (02:39:14):
As if Alabama goes to three losses and they keep
Alabama in, I don't think you can have a three
loss team. But if you're gonna have a three loss
team and a twelve team playoff, it can only be one.
Speaker 2 (02:39:23):
Well, we can't have two lost if lost to Florida,
A lost of Florida State.
Speaker 5 (02:39:29):
A lost of Florida, This Florida Florida bad.
Speaker 1 (02:39:32):
Yeah, well this is barely hang. It doesn't matter the coach.
Speaker 5 (02:39:37):
In retrospect, I don't know if Alabama should be punished
for losing the conference championship game. I don't think the conference.
Speaker 2 (02:39:42):
How do we end up with Virginia and Duke in
the ACC championship?
Speaker 1 (02:39:45):
What the hell?
Speaker 5 (02:39:46):
Very fun?
Speaker 2 (02:39:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:39:48):
What the ACC looks like?
Speaker 11 (02:39:49):
Now?
Speaker 3 (02:39:50):
Isn't Calan that's in you in the a CC cow
Cow knocks out cow one. That's how it happened, cal
Cow one.
Speaker 2 (02:39:58):
They have the first winning season since twenty eighteen. Okay,
it's just craziness in football, all right. Seahawks lead the
Vikings three to nothing as Sam Darnold's lighting it up
six eleven seventy yards.
Speaker 3 (02:40:09):
Did you just see Aaron Rodgers throw too man like?
And yeah, game is receiver get frustrated on that throw.
Speaker 2 (02:40:15):
Josh Allen, the league's MVP, is two of five for
twenty yards, no touchdowns in a pick that is a
passer rating of twelve.
Speaker 1 (02:40:22):
We could be able to change into the guard of
quarterbacks in this league, guys, I think so now. Rodgers
is two of four for ten yards.
Speaker 2 (02:40:28):
Hey, I get ready because Dan Bayer and Carry Rose everybody,
they will carry you the rest of the way.
Speaker 1 (02:40:34):
