got seven games kicking off right now, forty nine Ers
at the Browns, Jaguars at the Titans, Texans at the Colts,
Saints at the Dolphins, Falcons at the Jets, Cardinals at
the Buccaneers, and the Rams at the Panthers.

It is getting serious now, as tomorrow will turn the
page into the month of December. Every game has meaning.
Can I say one thing before we hear the great
voice of VJ. Husky, I do not want to hear
anyone say again about any team in this league. Who
had they beaten? Who has anybody beaten? This league is

so equal right now. There are no upsets. We had
the Lions lose at home. We have the Ravens supposedly
on the roll losing home to Cincinnati. The Chiefs all
they're back, they're sick since six right now. So we've
been seeing all these teams that you're like, Okay, well
they have a good record. Who have they beaten?

My question to you is, who has anybody beaten? I
just looked at me. The Rams officer playing some great
football right now. But BJ we've talked about parody for many,
many years around the National Football League, and if you
don't bring your game, like you don't show up, there
are no walkovers in this league. You get beats by
anybody in this league. So I would like to eliminate that.

You know, well, the Bears, who are they beaten? Who
has anybody beaten? That is my thought as we go
into week thirteen.

Do you think these guys care about who they beat?
If they beat a bad team. You're supposed to beat
bad teams, because if you don't beat the bad team,
what's the first thing we come out and say, Well,
they couldn't even beat such or such, or they look
like this about such and such. You just mentioned the Ravens.
What a debacle, What a debacle? Thanksgiving night? And I
did I not tell you guys, Dereck Henry's lost? Did

Right, so they let you know that type of a

whoever coaches, and who exactly whatever team it is. Tape

about some of these teams. Man, you talked about your Chiefs.
You talk we talked about Dallas. You got people wanting
to write Dallas. I've just seen Dallas for the last
two weeks on a short week, be down twenty one nothing,
come back and be Philly and then listen, thirty one
points that went total toe total toe.

buying back in the Chiefs.

Chiefs are no different than any other team right now.
They're all love together. This is all gonna come down.
Who's going to be playing the the best football at

talking about the Joe Burrow situation, right well, should he
come back?

I mean, they're out of it. The guy wants to play.

He made it clear he was. The interview before this game,
they're a lot of they were asking, you.

Know, they got a shot though, you know they got
a shot. Look at the schedule, Look at the way
that it's crazy that you got the Steelers got a shot.

Last week we had a conversation about who's gonna win
this NFC North and it's Green Bay Yards.

You know, the Detroit could come back.

bo I know Caleb's's guys, hey man, even though he's
not playing like great and he didn't play it, adn't
play that great, thanksgiven night. But the team is what
they are. They're nine to three. They are what they are.
They're in first place. I don't like, I said, I
just don't know if I trust the offense.

But how about the defense? Once again?

In two hundred and eighty one yards on the ground again,

On the NFC side, the Rams are the one seed,
the Bears are the two, Eagles are the three. Buccaneers
are the four Those are the division leaders. Your wild

cards are Seattle, Green Bay, and San Francisco. Lions out,
Dallas out, Carolina out all right. On the AFC side,
you've got doing one Denver two to any three Steelers
for your division leaders. Chargers five, Jaguars six, Bill seven,
Texans out, Chiefs out, Ravens out. That's where we are

right now. The Rams didn't waste any time. They went
right down the field. This is the one team that
is the only team right now, VJ that is top
five in the NFL in both offensive and defensive efficiency.

Okay, they're the only team right now, Bo Wars, Good
luck Jersey today. He's got He's got the Devonte seventeen on.
He gets the touchdown right off the break.

You know what, But this year with Devonte Adams's the
reminding of was Randy Moss joined Tom Brady.

right there with you, But I still believe in Philly
because I've seen reigning Super Bowl teams. Can think about it.

They're not good. And I'm not giving up on the
Eagles either, but they're they're not playing.

So you could kind of almost see this coming on

At home, but it didn't feel super comfortable, especially when
I saw the spread.

dropped back to back games again. I believe still they
will get on track.

The Rams are probably playing the cleanest I don't know best,
but they're playing the cleanest football because that Seattle game,
that kicker misses that kick.

Jumps out on them with fourteen though it's seventeen nothing
and then that defense from Seattle settles in. He locks
him down for the rest of that game. I told
you guys last week, the Rams are a team. They
got to get out on you quick. If they can
get out on you quick, they can survive these games
and get these wins. That's how they've been winning some
of these games. So I can't put them. Just blow
them past Philly.

Matthew Stafford with that touchdown pass to start this game
is twenty eighth consecutive touchdown pass since his last interception.
That has never been done in the history of the
National Football League.

I've been telling people for about four or five years.
I've argued with everyone at this station. He is a
Hall of Famers.

Not because he's gonna win an MVP Award. He's the
runaway favorite right now. Man, he's a Hall of all right.

game winning streak. If the Texans beat the Colts today,
all bets are off. And so you know, this is
I love this time of year. And this is really
where he gets interesting.

Because we go week to week.

You've already established the fact there are no you know,
big wins, like who you beat any anyone's a win,
wins a win, everything's equal right now. But this Texan
team intrigues me because if they can somehow sneak into
the postseason with that defense, with that defense, man oh man, yeah,
that defense beat anybody.

That defense in a running game. I also want to
backtrack to the Panthers use the term wiggle in. They're
not gonna have to wiggle in anything Monday night. If
they'd won, they'd have been in first place. That's not
wiggling in. That's a home playoff game, that's a division.
We say Atlanta's done, right, Saints done, and then aa,
we know we don't know what's up with the Bucks
because Baker, Baker, non, Baker's hurt.

Well, the thing about the Bucks were early in the
year they were pulling games out. Yeah, Baker was in
the conversation for MVP. But they haven't been great at
any really point. They just were able to, thank to
the quarterback, pull some games out late.

That's part of greatness though I thought they were great
earlier there they go up to didn't remember they go
up to Seattle, who we love that defense and threw
almost a forty burger on them up in Seattle, which
is hard to do flying from the East coast to

I just wanted to just point out about the Panthers
as far as saying wiggle in or they're not gonna
wiggle nothing. They actually have an opportunity to win this
division and get a whole playoff game, which will be
a great experience, in a great leap for that head
coach and my guy b Y onto this division. Though

because we still got the Jags. Now, we don't really
know what to think about the Jags. I think we
know we can think about the Bears. Right that you

who's been questioning CJ after that rookie year. This is
a huge game for the coach. They cannot drop this.

of Lane Kiffin that I really believe the best situation
where Lane would be taking the New York Giants job.
But apparently he will be the new coach at LSU.
He's gonna leave his Ole Miss team immediately as they
get ready for their postseason.

Of course, they came ever so close.

If Auburn had upset Alabama, they would have been in
the SEC Championship game. But Lane Kiffin going to LSU,
I don't get it. I mean, to me, LSU's a
lateral move. Yesterday, I mean, I got Martin all over me. Oh,
LSU's one of the premier programs in the country. I said, Look,
they won three national championships, one with Nick dab and
one with Les Miles, one with.

Ed Ord Run. Outside of that, where else? I mean
they're Auburn.

Auburn does that every once in a while, they jump
out of nowhere and they get a national championship or
they get an undefeated run. How is this a move
up for Lane Kiffin? I thought he wanted to test
himself at the highest level with his former quarterback Jackson Dart. Okay,
so ninety million dollars then he Isn't he on record
saying it's not about the money.

does it tell you about the future of the LSU program?

Kiffen is their coach once again?

fire Davo and bring in Lance and bring in Lane
because you got your quarterback already there with him. So
that's not gonna happen. And listen, I'm not gonna knock
the guy for taking ninety million.

get revenge on them.

state of Louisiana that just dished out fifty four million
dollars to get rid of one coach and handed another
coach ninety million dollars in the second poorest.

I tell you got the United States. Don't tell me
about this money. Don't tell me about this buyouts. Though
I've been so big, Stop telling me about, Oh, they're
not going to fire because they Oh, these people don't care.
They got more money than you think they got.

Well, if you have that kind of money to spend
on a football coach, either to get rid of and
that's almost one hundred and fifty million dollars to get
rid of one coach and hire another in the second
poorest state in the entire United States, the state of Louisiana.

It's just not happening this year. So, like I said,
they're gonna have to have a lot of help to
get to the playoffs.

They're sitting at eight and three right now, and save
that meltdown performance against the Rams, he has played some
pretty good football.

So what's the buzz right now.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
Did the Vikings make a mistake in your opinion on
not keeping Sam Donald? And why is it the Vikings
offense has struggled so far with JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 10 (41:43):
Yeah, well, that's a million dollar question. I think that's
what Kevin O'Connell and the Vikings organization and the offensive
staff especially is still trying to kind of work through.
And really the reality is they have not been nearly
as good. It's not just last year's version of the
Minnesota Vikings offense. They haven't been as good as the
offense that's been, you know, since Kevin O'Connell took the

(42:03):
job and became the head coach, you know, years back,
and it's been something they've always been able to hang
their hat on, especially the passing game. They've been, you know,
a top five passing team and pretty much every season
under Kevin O'Connell, and this year, you know, they're at
the bottom of the league. So obviously there's a lot
of you know, storylines and questions are going to dive
into a lot of them.

Today.

Speaker 10 (42:21):
The departure of not only you know, Sam Darnold, but
also Daniel Jones was in the building, and obviously from
all reports it seemed like they tried to re sign
Daniel at least and he obviously made the determination to
go to the Colton compete for the job there, which
certainly worked out. So the quarterback storyline is obviously at
the center of today and the Max Brosmer, the young

(42:42):
rookie he's now getting his first career start at arguably
one of the best defenses in football and certainly one
of the more difficult places to play in the league
in Seattle.

I love your work on Fox the what you call
games man, you do a tremendous job, as I call
a commentator. So let's flip to the other side with
the Seattle Seahawks. I mean, I think I don't know
if we saw this coming. I know they got Sam Donald.
Donald gets a big hundred million dollar deal, But this defense,
Greg is just it's just monstrous. Man. These guys they're physical,
they they wrap up, they're fundamentally sound. How how far

(43:16):
can you really see the Seattle team going in the
playoffs and making some noise in the NFC?

Speaker 10 (43:23):
Oh, I could see them, you know, in my mind
right now, it's a two horse race at the top
of the NFC, certainly between the Seahawks and the Rams.
And we called that game two weeks ago where the
Rams pulled that game off despite the four turnovers by Seattle,
and you know, they still, despite all of the struggles
offensively on the road, they still had a sixty yard
field goal at the buzzer to win the game that

(43:46):
you know, obviously they missed. So they were right there
in that game despite the turnovers. So I think the
Rams and Seahawks have really established themselves as the two
top teams certainly in the NFC, if not the league.
And a big reason is obviously, you know, we talk
about samld but this defense Mike McDonald has built here
in Seattle. They're fast, they're young, they're aggressive, they're dominant
at the line of scrimmage. They don't require a lot

(44:08):
of guys at are near the box. They don't require
a lot of guys at or near the line of scrimmage.
It allows them to keep their coverage units intact. It
allows them to almost, you know, play like they have
an extra man and their ability to affect the quarterback.
And then we can go on and on about just
the style of play and the defense that Mike McDonald
has built here in Seattle, and it's certainly a big
part of their success. And you know, in playoff football,

(44:32):
defense carries a lot larger of a responsibility for advancing
to the next round than wins and losses necessarily in
the regular season. And I think that's a big advantage
that Seattle has as the postseason approaches.

Speaker 2 (44:44):
All Right, I want to get back to Kevin O'Connor
for a second, because you know, he's been acknowledged a.

Speaker 1 (44:48):
Great play caller, a real guru to these quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
You know, you got Kirk Cousins to raise his game
obviously last year with Sam Darnold, but it's not worked
so far with JJ McCarty.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
What's missing here?

Speaker 2 (45:01):
I mean I I was a big fan of JJ
McCarthy coming out of Michigan and a lot of people said, well,
he didn't throw the ball that much. I go, yeah,
but when he needed to make plays he did for
the Wolverines and helping him win a national championship. And
he carries himself Greg, you know, he's he seems to
have that you know, strut like he's good, but he's
just not getting results on the field.

Speaker 1 (45:22):
What is missing here? How much is that on O'Connell.
How much is that on on McCarthy.

Speaker 10 (45:29):
Well, certainly anytime a young quarterback struggles, it's a shared responsibility.
I think so often we've seen this now over the
last couple of seasons. You know, quarterbacks that at their
first stop fresh out of collegist does the guys that
were drafted at or near the top of the of
the draft, you know that if they don't work out
in their original stop, they're immediately cast off as being
bust and failures. And then we see guys go to

(45:50):
New you know, go to New Scots and you know
Sam Darnold being a great example, and Baker Mayfield, and
you know, you can go on and on. They get
a second opportunity in the right setting, and all of
a sudden they flirt. So it's certainly fit, it's certainly
individual player. I think it's like anything, it's a shared
responsibility between the team that drafts a young quarterback and
their ability to surround them and develop them with what

(46:10):
they need. And also a lot of it's on the
young player. They've got to continue to get coach. They
got to continue to take that coaching and improve and
work on their shortcomings. As far as McCarthy coming out,
I think he shows tremendous competitive spirit. I think he's tough.
I think he plays hard. I think he's got a
big arm. He could really make a lot of big throws.
It's hard to evaluate his college, you know, as much
as he won, which is certainly the ultimate, you know,

(46:34):
kind of measuring stick. He won a lot of games
at Michigan, but it was low volume passing. Like you said,
it was only throwing. We have to it is ball controls,
you know a lot of things that really has become
a lot of NFL style, you know, football in today's
day and age. But as far as an evaluation process,
you didn't see high value. You didn't see thrown in
a lot of adverse situations. You didn't see a lot
of passing when you're behind two scores, and you know,

(46:56):
third and long and all the really tough spots that
we measurefl quarterbacks by their ability to operate in those situations.
So I think it's a difficult evaluation. I don't think
by any means Minnesota's given up on them, but you know,
I think we're going to find out a lot about
what this offense looks like today. Max Brosmerk, of course,
a young, unproven guy, not even drafted, but you know,

(47:17):
from talking to everyone around Minnesota and talking around the building,
you know they have a lot of confidence in his
ability to operate the system, play with anticipation, make some
of the throws in the passing game that they haven't
been hitting over the last couple of weeks in their struggle.
So you know, we'll get a good look at a
different quarterback operating this here in a couple hours.

Speaker 3 (47:35):
You've mentioned in the rams as them being one two
with Seattle, and I'm kind of there with you. I
want to throw two other teams at you and just
let you pick a team and just do what you
what's your best at breaking down Football for is Eagles Bears.
We watched that game on Friday night. The Bears are
nine and three. The great Bill Parcels once says, you
are what your record says you are. Get all the

(47:57):
sports talk variables out of it. You are what your
record says you are. The Bears Eagles hot. How do
you look at those other two teams as compared to
Seattle what you're calling today in the RAMS, So you
think are right there as the top team in the league.

Speaker 10 (48:10):
Yeah, I mean they're certainly, you know, they're certainly in
the playoff picture. And what we've what we've learned over
the years in the NFL, Right, it's not a best
of five series, it's not a best of seven. You
don't have a you don't have a bad night and
to get to wake up the next day and walk
out there and do it again. So, you know, are
those teams certainly able to win any week, any given time,
especially in playoff football? Absolutely? I think the jobs you know,

(48:32):
certainly in Chicago, the job that Ben Johnson has done
turning that thing around as quickly as he has. The
defense has continued to improve. That was their week link
early in the year. But Dennis Allen's been doing this
at a high level for a long time as both
a defensive coordinator and of course a head coach, and
he has them playing better. And you know, Ben Johnson's
in the small kind of handful of candidates for Coach

(48:53):
of the Year, and talking about Kayleb Williams, there's just
so many things to like about Chicago. And yes, I
mean to say they couldn't beat Seattle or the Rams
on any given playoff day, I mean, that's certainly not
out of the question. You know, I do think that
as of right now, the Rams in Seattle are better
teams overall. I think they're deeper, I think they're more balanced.

(49:14):
I think, you know, from that standpoint. But yeah, I
don't think the gap is so large that you just
couldn't imagine a situation of them losing, you know, I
think the NFC is probably a deeper playoff race right
now than maybe the AFC, especially with some of the
usual suspects and the star quarterbacks kind of on the
outside looking in. I think the AFC is kind of

(49:34):
up for grabs to whoever wants to take it. But
the NFC, and then of course Philadelphia they're having their
struggles offensively, but that's still a wildly talented roster, that right.
You know, we just saw them a year ago go
on a playoff run and ultimately won the Super Bowl,
so you can never discount.

three teams in the AFC, they all have one question
mark in the postseason, and it's the question mark you

the team's played well, but we know in the postseason

bust pipes and it makes diamonds. They get either bust
of pipe or make a diamond. Which one you gonna be.
You're gonna be a busted pipe, which is okay because
if Drake May goes into a playoff game and spits
upon us, dude, this is first play. It's different. It's
not the same, guys. It's different when you're playing in
the postseason. So even if you go down, who has
the most experienced at the quarterback position? The Stellers quarterback

at six and five cent in the four seed right now,
and the Charges with Justin Herbert sitting a seven and four.
Those are the two quarterbacks that have playoff experience of
the teams all in front of them.

Again, if the Chiefs don't make the playoffs, you don't
want to have to play one five man.

If you eliminate the Kansas City Chiefs on the AFC
side in the playoffs, which quarterback has the best track record?
And the answer is Josh Allen. He lost four times
to the Chiefs. You throw those four games out. He
seems to beat everybody else. So that's why I still
lean to the Bills. I'm counting that because we talked

to kind of backtrack because you get set back a
year when you have a bad coach and now you
have all these other things happening. You have the other
injuries happening, you have the ownership questionabilities. Jacksonville's thinking about
being the NFL team to finally be the one that
they place overseas.

You gotta think about it as a quarterback.

All the stuff plays into your mentality and your mental
and how you can focus. Once again, you can only
control how you show up and and how you react.
But at the end of the day, he's still uber talented,

they're not selling the farm on him, because what are

see today, we're adding at it. So with today, going
across country is hard, and I get that, but this
is a team that they probably should have been Matthew Stafford.
Once we start calling them the MVP throws two picks today,
good running game, ground game today with Kyl Williams and
with my man.
