it's time to introduce my partner, my friend, the hottest
working man and show business today washes his hands thirty
five times a day. Yes he does. Hope everyone's out
there healthy and ready to rock and roll. My guy, Brian, No, hello,
b what's up? Be? What's going on? Andy Ferman, Glad
(00:45):
to be with you here on a Sunday morning, as always,
my man, fresh off of a three day ball a thon.
I guess that's the best way to put it. Man.
The the NFL Draft is just beautiful as always, but
especially this year when we're just aching for some current
live content. So that was a lot of fun. Man.
I'm excited to discuss it with you in great debts.
(01:08):
I admit it. I admitted my hand up to the
sky right now, as you can see, I admitted that
I was wrong because I missed sports terribly. I don't
think I've ever watched the draft as long and as
many hours as I have this year. Now yesterday has
started now in eastern untill about seven ten Eastern. I'd
say I watched of that yesterday, and it's because I
(01:29):
love sports. I missed sports. I was so excited to
get my hands wrapped around something. And I've never watched
the draft for that length of time. For all these years,
I had no idea the names they were picking. In
the last couple of rounds, I really didn't have no
idea whatsoever. But I admit it now that I will
watch sports if there are no fans in the stands.
I admitted I will. Yes, you absolutely will. There's no
(01:53):
way you're gonna be like it just doesn't have the atmosphere.
So the hell with that? It does if I can
watch you get done in his basement. I can watch
an NFL game when no one understands. And hey man,
I will say this for the challenges of this particular draft,
I think that both ESPN and NFL network handle did
(02:14):
very very well. I thought the coverage was spectacular, and
I also thought that it struck the right tone. There
are a lot of times that the NFL has been
accused of being tone deaf, and there are instances where
that's true. I didn't think this was one of those.
I thought it was a very respectful approach, clearly acknowledging
(02:35):
the fact that there is a global pandemic going on
right now. I didn't think it was like, hey, party time,
everybody will and then nothing about the pandemic. I thought
that they weaved in a lot of respectful gestures and words,
so I thought it was just a grand slam. I
thought it went off really really well this year. I'll
go one stuff further. I think it was the best
(02:55):
trip I've seen. You use me because I watched it
for so long, But I will say this, certainly, the
it's a tremendous You can't wait for the picks and
the nail biters and things like that, but the stories
between the picks were tremendous. Now you know Miami Dolphins
on the eighteenth pick when they picked the offensive tackle
Austin Jackson in usc that story was was gut wrenching
with his sister. I mean it was amazing. And some
of the stories that they put together. I was blown away.
(03:18):
And the tremendous stories that they had in between each pick. Yeah,
all right, yeah it's and for the people that didn't
hear that about Austin Jackson, Yes, his sister has this
uh what would you call it? Andy? Is it? Uh
an eternal blood disease? I think yeah, right, and uh,
he was a perfect match with his bone marrow and
(03:39):
it's this they have to go into his hips. They
did it numerous times, this procedure and it's like corkscrewing
a needle into his hips to get the marrow out
of it to help his sister out. And so yeah,
it's this whole thing. But yeah, a lot of those stories.
They did a great job telling those stories. And there
was something about I like in Missy seems a little
(04:01):
bit much, but it was. There was much more of
an intimate draft when you get to see like Bill
Belichick chilling with his dog, get to see their homes
and Cliff Kingsbury living Tony Montana style, and it was unbelievable.
I really liked it. Well, I will say this. The
ratings proved it because it had like a fifteen points
it's million in the first night as opposed to a
(04:22):
record because the last I guess closest number was twelve
point four mill. And honestly, when you see things like
inside the homes, like what about Mike Rabel, the coach
of the Tennessee Titans on the background during round one
on Friday night, then in round two, I guess he
got some criticism on round two on Friday night he
went with the Titans logo behind them. But I enjoyed
it watching his kids running around with you know, various
(04:45):
jerseys on, and it's just it's more home. It makes
it more human. That's basically what it does. I did
read something about that the dude that was wearing it
was really it was because of Mr Freeze, the guy
with the Atlanta Braves. He races fans in the outfield,
so that was the friend of Rabel's son. That's why
(05:08):
he was wearing the spandex. Was because he was going
to be doing that, I believe, during baseball games, and
so he just thought, I'll heck with it, I'll rock
this out during the draft because he wasn't able to
do that due to the pandemic. So that's the story
behind it. At least there was a reason that the
one kid was rocking the Spandex. Look. Yeah, and I'll
(05:31):
tell you what, even Roger Goodell became somewhat of a
normal person because he knows that he always gets booed,
but he decided to kind of do that tradition before
opening up the dread blooding booze From the fans who
were on zoom watching, he was tremendous, it really was.
And that was pretty interesting too, because, um, it just
(05:52):
showed that he doesn't really mind the booze, and it's
it's better to be known for that than not known
at all, right, because they didn't have to include that
if he didn't like it at all, they weren't going
to add the booze. But every time there was a
Patriots pick, they had the montage right behind him and
every good boom boom. I just thought it was interesting
(06:13):
that they set that up to begin with. Yeah, I
tell you what, I was waiting for a glitch. I
was waiting for some sort of lost communication. If there
was any I hadn't heard. I think there was maybe
one at one point in time. What was a Denver thing.
So they complained a little bit that they didn't hear something,
but I'm shot. I mean, I would like to see
a story on how this was put together. That they
(06:34):
had I guess, people in the homes of like at
least the first sixty six potential draft picks, and they
were in their homes, I mean, ready to rock and
roll when the pick was made. Technically, I'd like to
see how that was done. And I think that would
be an interesting story. It really would be. Well, yeah, definitely,
(06:54):
but uh, it went off without a major hitch. You
might have like little itty bitty stuff he in there,
but there was no major hitch. And listen, we all
want the pandemic to be a thing in the past
as quickly as possible. And I won't say that the
NFL is going to make that happen, but but just
for a second, and he considered the good luck of
the NFL where the draft goes off without a major hitch.
(07:18):
Think about the year that they had the Super Bowl
at MetLife Stadium and we're for two weeks, it's like
there could be a blizzard and it's unseasonably warm, right,
and I'm getting to think about the NFL season. It's
based on the good luck of the NFL. If there's
something that makes you optimistic that the football season will happen,
(07:41):
it's just got to be the four leaf clover in
the back pocket of the league, right, you know what.
I just think this is tremendous because now all of
a sudden that three days of sports. You put quotation
walks around it. But it was sports, it really was.
It wasn't action, it wasn't sweating, it wasn't with the time,
wasn't but it was a sports. It was an event.
And to night, I can watch the Last Dance again
(08:02):
for two more episodes, so at least something's going on.
Oh yeah, yeah. I hate to look it at the
other side and think, well now that we're post draft,
like what we're looking forward to now, right, So it's
gonna get really interesting in the weeks and hopefully not
too many months after the draft without live sports. But
(08:24):
we'll figure out a way, Andy, We always do, man,
Yes we do. By the way, we have late breaking
news here which don't usually happens at this time of day,
at this time of the morning. Really. Former Buccaneer quarterback
Jamis Winston and the New Orleans Saints have been discussing
a deal, and this is reput up by Adam Schefter
on Twitter at Charles Robinson as well. He reports is
being finalized right now. Winston and the Saints now look
(08:46):
like it's going to be close to becoming a reality.
So they also drafted Tommy Stevens, the Mississippi State quarterback.
So Tommy packet Bags, you're not going. You might as
well stay home, Tommy steven unless you want to play
special teams. Maybe I don't know, but Tommy Steavens will
not be quarterback in for the New Orleans stage anytime soon.
If in fact they signed Jamis Winston, well, this is
the Teddy Bridgewater role, right, and that might actually work
(09:09):
out really really well for Jamis Winston, because Andy, when
you get into that backup realm, it's tough to find
yourself back in a legitimate starting opportunity. And you look
at Teddy Bridgewater when he had that leg injury that
nearly ended his career and all of a sudden he's
a backup to Breeze. Well, Breeze gets hurt. We all
(09:30):
know what that thumb injury mrs five games, Teddy Bridgewater
steps in their plays. Well, and all of a sudden
he parlays that into a twenty one million dollar per
year deal with the Panthers over three seasons. So that's
pretty good. And for Jamis Winston, I don't know that
he's you know, doing it not a rain dance, but
like an injury dance. That Breeze goes down, so Winston
(09:53):
can go in there. But should that happen, that could
increase his value to maybe start elsewhere, or in crease
his value to take over when Breeze walks away. So
that's not a bad opportunity for Jameis Winston, right, I mean, look,
he's got work. He was out in the cold. At
least he got some work, which is great. It's always
good to see people get work. It really and by
the way, speaking of work, did you hear this news
(10:14):
due to the coronavirus, professional gamblers in Nevada likely will
be able to file for and receive unemployment benefits. How
do you? I mean really, I want to follow up
on that. I want to see how this happen. How
could that happen? I mean, I I don't want to
be insensitive to these people, but how do you get
(10:35):
a form. How to pro gamblers, how do they fill
out a form to qualify for unemployment checks? Really that's interesting.
I mean you could absolutely look at it as that's
your job, that's your source of income, all of those things,
so it does apply. But it's yeah, it's different than
the norm, that's for sure. Yeah, it really is. I'll
(10:55):
tell you what we got so much that it is
in the norm today and we're gonna get a rocking
and rolling. You can get to us on Twitter at
the No Show. N Oe Show will read them, we'll

But believe it or not, one NFL team got not one,
but two first rounders in the draft. We'll explain it
all next here don't listening to Fox Sports Radio. It
(11:44):
wasn't a surprise, but it was the rise pick. We'll
get that in just about a minute. Nin Tea passed, Yeah,
this is Fox Sports Sunday. He's probably no. I'm Andy Firman.

we got sports, we got ball, and I know that
makes you so very happy. Before we get into the
intricacies of this situation, tell me how happy you are
with your Dolphins. Just tell me. When they called to
his name out, you must have went through the roof.
I was so happy, Andy Furman, Yes, I did. Um.
(12:28):
I don't know how I could explain it. It wasn't
quite a Tiger Woods fist pump, you know how it's
really accentuated, but I went double fist pump, just like Yes,
I was so worried they were gonna go with Herbert
Man I was petrified that was gonna happen. No, Diiper
said that mel Kiper had Herbert going before he switched it,
(12:48):
though right before the draft is mel Kiper junior mock
five point Oh he switched it to to Uh. So look, man,
it was a possibility they were gonna go with Herbert.
I'm a much bigger believer into uh. I just think
he's the more instinctive player. He anticipates throws, he doesn't
need to see the guy open before he throws it.
(13:09):
He's more accurate, So I believe into a more I
know the injury concerns, of course, that's part of the
equation here, but I just think that he's got the
higher upside. He's the bigger home run guy, and I'm thrilled.
Whether he pans out or not, we'll find out. But
at least the Dolphins didn't have to trade up to
get him, so a lot of that draft capital, some
(13:31):
of those guys are gonna hit that they might have
had to throw into a deal to move up to three, which,
as it turns out, would have been an unnecessary move.
And I was waiting for the Cincinnati Bengals Will picked
number one to say to uh, I was the only one.
I guess everybody. Look, they knew, they knew seventy two
hours prior to that call that Joe Burrow was gonna
be called and citia a matter of fact, as soon
(13:52):
as he was picked, they had billboards, electric billboards all
over the city of Cincinnati welcoming him. I mean, he's
a native son. And I will tell you is you know,
I can't knock his statistic, you know, sixty touchdowns, seventy
plus percentage of completion passing, things like that. I mean,
really and a good kid, there's no doubt. But I
gotta believe a big portion of the reason why he
(14:12):
was picked number one for the Bengals is the fact
that he's a native son. And more than that, I
think box office appeal had a lot to say and
his picking. I really believe that. Yeah, I think so too.
And I also think this. I think that they fell
in love with the guy and not just his game
because last year he had played tremendous football. We all
(14:33):
know that, but I think that when you listen to
some of these sound bites where he was on Fox
Football Now, Joe Burrow was and he was talking about, Hey,
it came up a lot with these interviews with teams,
why did your stats improve so much from to twenty nineteen?
And he's like, I worked a lot on off platform
(14:54):
throws and that was a big deal. I think throwing
on the run, throwing on the move, and that helped
out a lot. And he just has this calming influence
in an interview setting, because let's be honest, it's like
all these teams have anxiety when it comes to the
what if why did your stats improven? Well, what's going
on here? And could this blow up in our face
(15:16):
and all that, And I think that Joe Burrow handles
those type of settings, those scenarios very well where he's
just no, I mean, I worked on this and I've
got confidence that he just has a calming presence in
those settings. Well. I think he won people over at
the Heisman Trophy speech when he not only thanked his
coach at l s U at oh he thanked his
Ryan Day coach at Ohio State. He thanked everybody, and
(15:38):
he said he wanted to take care of his community
in Athens, Ohio. So that was number one. Number two.
When he was questioned about his hand size during the
Pro situation in Indianapolis. I mean he hitting that with
the plum. He really did. I mean other people would
walk just some kids just would walk out or you
don't know what you're talking about. He just kind of
laughed it off. I mean, he he just knows how
(15:59):
to handle that. And he's gonna be tremendous with the
media and he's great. I just hope he pants out pless.
You don't know. You just don't know. Time was gonna
decide and will decide if it's the right pick, if
he's the right choice of the same with two in Miami.
Time will only tell. But the big questions right now
is what about Andy Dalton. He should be gone. They
(16:20):
should have what You gotta try to trade the guy
if you can, but if not, I would move on
from him. But I think this also, Andy, is you
gotta look at the Bengals. I think their reputation is
way worse than their reality right now because they're talked about.
Is if they don't have a single good player outside
of Joe Burrow, the number one overall pick joining that roster.
(16:44):
And I mean, Andy, you look at this. You get
Jonah Williams back, who was the first round pick, last
year he missed the entire season due to a shoulder injury.
So he basically have two first round picks. That's an
extra first rounder right there. You still have a j
Greene who's one of the best receivers in football, and
you drafted T Higgins like that, just mentioning that alone,
that's something to work with. Joe Mixon is a very
(17:06):
good running back. So I just dislike this. Oh my god,
don't code it since he please don't go there. It
reminds me of the Browns how bad of a reputation
they've had for decades of losing. But if you look
at Baker Mayfield and the talent around that guy, there
are quarterbacks. Aaron Rodgers is one of them. He'd kill
to have that talent around here. So you can't take
(17:29):
the reputation too far as if that's the reality with
the losing ways of the Bengals and the Browns for
a while now. Yeah, the only bad thing about the
Bengals right now is the conference that they playing in.
The division. I mean, it's really tough, maybe one of
the tougher ones in football. Yeah, you get Big Ben
healthy if that's the case, and the Ravens are just stacked. Man,
(17:50):
Like I'm watching the Ravens draft and I was saying
out loud that guy is still available, or I'm like,
hey's he's gonna be a good player for them. It's
just after another after another. They had four picks in
the third round. I'm watching the draft as you were, Andy,
and I'm like, is anybody else picking in the third
round other than the Ravens. They were constantly on the clock.
(18:12):
The tremendous Now you go back to the Banks for
just a second. I mean, they do have a tremendous
offensive front right now. And you mentioned the receiving situation.
I don't know where that t Higgins is gonna be,
but they could certainly line up four white outs at
one point in time. But maybe te Higgins is the
heir apparent to a J. Green Will. No, I don't
know what's gonna happen with that, but I think the
pressure solely right now rests on the coach, Zach Taylor,
(18:35):
who enters his second year. Now, I'll give him. I'll
give him a mulligan for year one. I'll give him
a pass because you know, it wasn't his system, It
wasn't his team. This is his team. He was brought
in here to coach the quarterback of the future. That's
why he was born into Cincinnati. And I want to
see right now how he handles it. Remember, he doesn't
have a hell of a lot of paper space on
(18:57):
his resume. He doesn't have a lot going for him.
He really does it. There's a lot of pressure on
Zach Taylor right now. Yeah, but he does he. I
would say he's got time on his side because if
you compare this to Matt Patricia, let's just go that
direction with the Lions. So his record is really bad
right now, and that's all that's harped on. And never
(19:20):
mind the fact that Stafford missed half the season last year.
Right but if you compare Stafford being a veteran quarterback
versus Burrow daisy fresh rookie, if the Bengals have this
hideous record in and you look and you say two
years in, hey gosh, Zach Taylor's record two years in
(19:41):
is even worse than what Matt Patricia's was two years in.
He's not gonna be under the same heat because there's
gonna be more of a I don't know, a measured
approach with Joe Burrow, you're not expecting him to be
among the league leaders right away, you know. So I
think as long as there are positive of signs of momentum,
(20:03):
if they go four and twelve, five and eleven, I
don't think anybody's gonna sit here and be like, oh
my gosh, he's only won seven games in his first
two years. It's just it's a positive step forward, and
I think that's the way it's gonna be viewed. Well,
more than that, I think that getting a job with
the Sincireti Bengals is almost a situation you can stay
for life. I mean, no one gets fired coaching the Bengals.
(20:23):
I mean Marvin Luis Susan for an eternity before that,
Dave Shula. So basically you get you got a big
rope over there. But well, I don't want to like
Marvin Lewis. He's making it to the playoffs, didn't win
one playoff game, da. I mean, he was there probably
more than he should have been there he any other franchise,
he would have been gone earlier. Oh there's no doubt. Listen,
(20:44):
if you had the heast the head coach of the
Cowboys and just making it to the playoffs and losing,
he would have been fired. You know, halfway into the
time that he lasted. What do he lasted like sixteen years?
He lasted forever since crazy release. Now, I I hate
to be the one that range on the parade. You know, me,
I missed the sunshine. I missed a positive. Really, but
(21:06):
you look at the picks. You mentioned him, Joe Burrow,
quarterback l s u followed by why receive a T.
Higgins from Clemson? Then they got the linebacker from Wyoming,
Logan Wilson. Then they got another lineback from Appalachian State,
Keem Davis Gaither. Okay, we're gonna I'm starting to scratch
my neck here. We're getting a little too in depth
on the Bengals. Okay, let me let me tell you
(21:26):
what I'm why we're I'm going on this. Each of
the players was the first round pick in a round.
And I'm gonna say, right here and now, it's pretty
damn hard to screw up a draft that way. When
you got the first it's pretty difficult to do that.
I mean, it's pretty easy. It's been done. It's happened,
it's been done. It's happened more often that it's been
(21:49):
screwed up than gone off without a hitch. Well see
what happened. Yeah, that's all I'm saying. The draft is
a crapshoot, man, But it doesn't mean that those those
players that they drafted are all gonna pan out. Goodness,
you can just go draft after draft after draft to
see that's not the case. Right. And as far as
getting back to Andy Dalton, here's a guy. I mean,
(22:09):
if they wanted to stay there and Groom Joe Borrow,
which is not gonna happen, He's gonna have to take
a pay cut. I mean, he's gonna make seventeen mill
next year. He's not gonna be paid seventeen mill to
be a backup guy to Groom. And first of all,
who would want to stay in a situation to get
paid less and lose your job to someone else? I mean,
can imagine Andy Dalton come with to since today next
(22:29):
year and seeing these billboards all around town welcome Joe.
I mean, you gotta go, Andrew, Andrew, you gotta go.
There you go. He's Brian noahm Andy Firm. And this
is Fox Football Sunday Today, because it is all football today.
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Foxes our number eight
seven seven sixty three sixty nine, and of course we're
live from the guy go Fox Sports Radio Studios. Now
(22:51):
one NFL team didn't want light and need to strike twice.
That's next. But first page guy Brian Fentley with the Landers,
will be hey, Hey, what's going on? Guys? Hey, it's
going well? Good looking, You're always looking good. Dad and
my godfather Brian as well. Breaking news during the overnight hours,
(23:14):
the Saints are giving Jamis Winston a chance with a
one year deal, with those terms not yet disclosed. The
feeling is will battle out that backup QB job with
Taysom Hill. Now Winston, as you vividly remember last season
as the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, dry
heaving all over the field last season, thirty interceptions in
(23:34):
five lost fumbles. There is a visual for our great
friend Andy Furman. The Patriots head coach Bill Belichick belly
aching for another QB, but mysteriously chose not to draft one,
which he claims was not by design. During Saturday's final
rounds of the draft, the Colts going with Washington quarterback
Jacob Eeson in the fourth round Georgia quarterback Jake from
(23:58):
after bar thing it up at the Combine dip down
to the fifth round to the Bills. The Chargers bring
on running back Joshua Kelly in the fourth round as
he presumptive backup for Ustin Ekeler. The Arizona Cardinals come
away with Arizona State running back you Know Benjamin in
the seventh round. He came into the draft with back
to back seasons with over one thousand yards rushing. Some
(24:21):
undrafted free agents of note Washington State quarterback Anthony Gordon
to the Seahawks, Thaddeus Moss, the son of Randy Moss,
joining forces with the Redskins. In Utah's dual threat quarterback
Tyler Huntley to the Ravens. Also, ESPN is reporting the
NBA will allow team facilities to open up starting this
Friday in parts of the country where the government's stay
(24:43):
at home orders are easing. The players who can get access, though,
will not be able to come together and have a
team oriented practice. As you send it back to a
great team, my father, Andy Furman, who I When I
was watching Andy these coaches and these virtual draft rooms,
I thought about the Suns that were next to them,
(25:04):
and I thought of being right next to you, and
how special that money might be one day, one day,
one day, one day. Back to you, guys, I'm waiting
for that day. Thank you for seeing an hour, all right, baby,
not much of a gamble. That's right around the corner.
He is Brian No, I'm Andy Ferman, And of course
we would welcome everybody back to the Fox Boats radio
studios were brought to you by Geico. It's easy to
(25:25):
say fifty more on car insurance with Geico. Got a
Geico dot Com O call eight four seven A U
T O. The only hard part figuring out which way
is easier. And of course will a Bronx talk radio
with the amazing Crisp unless than ten minutes now, I
know you're still celebrating two at five to the Dolphins,
And you know what, they didn't want to make the
same mistake twice. Lightning did not strike twice because the
(25:47):
Dolphins made a medical mistake years ago by not taking
Drew Brees now despite the medical situation, although he was cleared,
despite all that, and they say he's brittle and whatever
it might be. They take two, and I'm glad they did.
I can't wait to see him play. And they backed
it up with Austin Jackson as an offensive tackle to
protect them at eight teens. And I think it's great.
(26:08):
I love it, I really do. I think that it's
a bigger risk without the guy than it is with him, right, Like,
I can acknowledge the the situation here where yeah, it's
a risk to go with to a guy who's been
as banged up as he has been. But I'm not
a huge believer in Justin Herbert, and I think if
they were to pass on the guy as talented as
(26:31):
TWA is, I think that's the bigger risk is saying yeah, no,
we're just not gonna go down that road, because that
guy can come back to haunt you as talented as
he is. So I think this is the lesser of
two evils, the lesser risk, if you will, would you
agree with that, Andy, I think that he could have
(26:51):
come back to bitting the Dolphins had they passed on
the game. If you're going on talent two, is it
at a quarterback than Justin Herbert or any other quarterback
in the draft. He really and I still think he's
better than Joe Burrow. He was the best quarterback, not
only the best quota but the best athlete at quarterback
in the draft. So you can't pass on this guy.
And if you look, it's gonna happen somewhere, somehow someone's
(27:12):
gonna say, oh, we should have taken X instead of Y.
That's just the nature of the draft. But on draft Day,
looking at the talent out there, tool was the guy
to take. Well. And I also say this, how about
the Dolphins, the smoke screen masters over there, because all
of these reports of right before the draft, we heard
(27:33):
they're trying to move up to three, the number three
overall pick. They're trying to make a move with the Lions,
work out a trade so they can draft an offensive lineman.
And it's just like that doesn't make any sense at all.
But according according to Fox Sports is Jay Glazer, he
was like, the Chargers were ticked off they didn't get
(27:54):
to a they wanted the guy, and Glazer said that
he told Tom Talesco to draft to trade up to
number four and they were convinced the Dolphins weren't gonna
select him. So kudos to the Dolphins for all the smoke.
Right before the draft, much of the media was saying
you can't find a media person that believes they're going
(28:14):
to draft to uh. And I thought it was a
very very smart approach not to reveal their hand and
to on top of it, it's like being at a
poker table and they're representing aces when they didn't have aces.
So I think saved them a lot of draft capital
playing it that way, and more so than the pick
and discussing how good or a bit it maybe it
wasn't the right pick. I love when they went into
(28:35):
to his home with his family. I mean to me,
those are the stories that I take away from the
draft more so than the picks. The picks I'll see
on the fall, hopefully in September. Hopefully they'll play football
in September. That's what I'm looking forward to watching and play,
but to see the interaction with family. This kid is
a good kid, you could just tell. And and the
way he talked in the interview process. You know, after
(28:58):
the draft pick, you know, you tell right there and
then we kind of a kid you're going to get
and he's a good kid. He could just tell, well
he is, and that's great. But it's all about production
and you know that Andy, same thing with Burrow, same
thing with Herbert. I think all these quarterbacks at the
top of the draft represented themselves very very well, but
(29:19):
it's all about, hey, what can you do, what's the
production gonna be like, what's the availability gonna be like?
In terms of the health when it comes to to Uh.
But I also think this Andy, there's only so much
you can control injury wise. But I think to Uh,
the way he's been injured, and Nick Saban's talked about
this quite a bit, most of the time he's gotten
injured is because he's holding onto the football too long.
(29:41):
The hip injury was exactly that, and so I think
that's something that to Ah has. He's gonna be able
to have some control over that because he's got to
have a better internal clock, meaning hey man, I'm about
to get hit, let me throw this ball away. I
can live to fight another down. I think that he's
(30:02):
got to get better in that regard. And it's very
similar to a quarterback like Johnny Manziel who was running
and saying, you know, I've got to be better r
G three, I gotta be more judicious, and they just
didn't do it. I think that just throwing the ball
away is comparable to running the football and sliding and
(30:24):
not taking that punishment. Right, It's the same thought is
get down, throw it away, don't take that unnecessary punishment.
And to quote facts that I learned that like and
have learned that Russell Wilson is doing that and start
doing it even more so, absolutely right. Yeah, It's like
remember when Aaron Rodgers after a preseason game at Midfield,
(30:44):
he said to Lamar, get down like slide, don't take
that punishment. It's the same advice for Tua, but instead
it's just trying to extend plays. But you still have
to get down or throw it away. Has to happen. Okay,
not question is now with no O T. S or
no personal I guess training techniques or no preseason practice
(31:06):
whatever it may be, Well, maybe no preseason whatsoever. How
soon does two will start? Does Ryan Fitzpatrick going to
center for the number one game? What happens now with two?
And maybe with Joe Burrow is well the same situation
with no O T A S. Well, it's look, man,
it's really a guessing game in terms of when the
season starts, assuming it does, right it really hope it
(31:30):
depends on when If it's right when it should happen. Well,
then I don't expect to it to be the week
one starter at all, even if it's delayed, even if
the season is pushed back, I don't expect him to
be the week one starter because why why throw him
into the deep end of the pool when he's coming
off of a major injury if he's not ready. I
(31:51):
think he just makes more sense to ease the guy
in in terms of Joe Burrow, and he's got a
grasp of the playbook and he's the best option. Yeah,
throw him, Well, he may have to go. It don't
may not be there, so he may have to. Yeah,
and Herbert, you're gonna go with Tyrode Taylor. And what
I think is interesting, Andy, is who starts first between
(32:12):
those two, between TWA and Herbert, because it seems like
a slam dunk. Oh, it's gonna be Herbert. But think
about this, if the Chargers with that very talented roster
and Tyrod Taylor, who's not a franchise guy but he's
a good bridge quarterback, if the Chargers get off to
a great start and they're six and two, they're not
switching to Herbert, you know, So it could very well
(32:34):
be to a getting the start before Herbert does. Well,
you know what, we could talk all day long about
who's gonna get this top, But I think it all
depends upon what you initially said. If in fact there's
a long training period, not a virtual training period, but
actually on the field with coaches training period, and if
that's the case, I would say Herbert's gonna be the
face of the franchise and we'll start. That's what he'll
(32:54):
do one. You think he's the guy, I don't think
he's gonna be ready. Man, He's just he's slow going
through progressions. He's slow throwing with anticipation. I just think
that all the moves that the Chargers have made, and
they've gotten some guys in their thirties like Brian Blaga,
you know, Lyn Vaal Joseph, They've gotten some guys that
(33:16):
are older as if they're in win now championship mode,
and I think that lends itself to starting a guy
who has starting experience in Tyrode Taylor, I would be shocked,
who literally shocked if Justin Herbert was the guy come
week one, Well, Justin Nervous could be the face of
the franchise. Well, I guess too will be as well.
(33:36):
But I'm gonna go back a second for h for
Joe Burrow because Adam Schefter wrote several days ago that
he's been studying Joe Burrow has a studying the Bengals
play but with three weeks, tell me how that happens?
I mean, could you get that stuff before he's Look,
he may have signed the contract before he was drafted,
that's a possibility. Maybe, I I don't know, and that
has happened in the past, but we haven't heard that.
(33:57):
But how how could he study the Bengals playbook prior
to being drafted? Well, there's no contract. That's first thing is,
there's a no contract that he has. But if they
just say, man, here, here you go, check this out.
Here's the playbook. I mean, I don't know the rules
regulations behind that. I don't know if he spoke out
(34:17):
of turn and shouldn't have revealed that. I don't know
if the Bengals are like, hey, dude, keep it on
the low over here. I'm not sure. But yeah, according
to Schafter, he has a head start. So yeah, the Bengals,
they were going with Burrow for a while now, no
doubt Tom Brady though, right, Tom Brady going into the
wrong home, trying to work on plays with Byron Leftwitch
(34:42):
and get a sense of the playbook. And that's a
gigantic no no right now. So you're not supposed to
have any contact with coaches at this it hasn't even
been drafted. I would assume that's a giant no. Not
for Joe Burrow as well, having a playbook. We'll see,
we'll see, We'll see what happens with Roger Goodell getting
a it's tough again. Maybe who knows, But he is
(35:02):

You're something we like to call Bronze talk radio posted
by the Great Crispi. Alright, so it's great about it?
(36:07):
Why you know what? You know exactly what it is?
So the Jets and the Giants they both take things
called h What was it a tackle? I don't know
what that is? Is that sports touchdowns? Can I tell
you what a tackle is? A comparison your son, remember
years ago, well Wayne Gretzky was playing hockey, they had
(36:27):
these guys called goons. Goons would protect Wayne Gretzky. Tackles
protect quarterbacks. So basically they're not more than they fight.
I can respect that, Brian. No do tackles fight. They're
not supposed to. They get penalized if they do that.
But they're like goons, aren't they goons? A kind of
a classy goon. I hear what you're saying over there. Yes,
(36:49):
you can't take literally, it's more so between the whistles
or until the echo of the whistle your goon after
the whistle that you cost him you. Speaking of goons,
Philadelphia wasn't happy about their pick at all. They take
a freaking quarterback even though they already got one. I
don't know what's going on with that. They're all mad
about that. They're all mad about everything. But that's Philadelphia
for they should be mad about this one. They got
(37:11):
a right to be mad about this one because the
fifty third overall pick you go with Jalen hurts, and
you're hoping the guy doesn't see the field to replace
Carson Wentz. The only way he does if Wentz is
not upright again and he's banged up, that's the only
way that makes you know what? You know what I
have to say about that, that pick hurts. It's not
(37:31):
the best trap pick. When I will tell you this much.
He may have been the best available player at the time.
The obvious he didn't go for needs, but he could
have been the best play available at the time. That
doesn't make any sense, though there's plenty of times you
don't go with the best available player. If you set
at quarterback, you don't go with another QB. It just
doesn't make sense that chemistry wise is not gonna help
(37:56):
the relationship between Wins and the new quarterback, Covid Jason.
We got to illustrate this in New York WAYE. So
sometimes the best slice available is a pepperoni slice. But
sometimes you don't want pepperoni, you want sauceage. You gotta
get the sauceage slice in you. I have no idea
what you're talking about. I really don't either. You know,
(38:17):
we're just keeping the things he had, the big Apple.
We had halves and halves, nots. All over the freaking drafts.
I gotta say, you see Jerry Jones, you know, hold
the Detroit Lions. There they have an I T guy
out and a freaking winn Abago, and then Jerry Jones
is drafting from a quarter billion super yacht out somewhere
in the freaking Caribbean or whatever's he just drafting out there.
(38:40):
He doesn't care. He's like, yeah, I just take that
guy over there, you know, big. I think it's a
damn shame when you got a guy like the commissioner
of the NFL in his base, you look like a
sleepy Mr. Rogers over his man cave over there, and
you've got Jerry Jones kind of rubbing it in everybody's face, like,
look at me. I'm on, I told you fifty million dollars.
Go screw yourself, Jerry. It was a wrong thing to do.
(39:03):
You set out the wrong message. I really believe that.
I totally disagree. You guys sound like grumpy men over here.
Yes we are. He's got a bunch of cash that's
not a mystery to anybody. And if he wants to
draft from his yacht, God bless you. Jerry Jones. You've
worked hard for your money. You go ahead and you
draft from your yacht. Was gonna get it? Like I
(39:23):
was hoping it was gonna sit alright? What was one
heck of a man cave? Though? You kidding mesh something? Anyway,
we might have some sports back. Before you know it,
you have c they're all flocking down to Florida. There
to forty nine is gonna be on down there. It's
gonna be the first of three cards hoping to be
in Florida. Hey, you know what what happened to Fight Island?
(39:46):
I really like the idea of Fight Island. We're not
gonna happen like that, like that the story if the
main land. If the mainlands like, no, we'll let you
fight over here. You don't need fight Island, Fight island.
The real story behind the fight Island. I understand that
they couldn't get a real to to get the island sold.
They couldn't find a real to. I know some realtives
(40:07):
in New York. I know quite a few goons who
would sell you an island. Here find the Brooklyn Bridge
on the bridge. Yeah, all right, our final story from
the day out here. You know, coronavirus is impact in
all our lives, including those of the fans of the
insane clown posse who's out here. They're being really responsible,
looking out for their own So in that in in
(40:28):
that mood, they have decided to, with a heavy heart,
canceled the gathering of the Juggalos because, quote they we
refused the Juggalos. Do you know what the Juggalos are?
They say, quote, we refuse to risk even one Juggalo
life that is respectable over there. I like, how about that?
(40:51):
But by the way, my college roommate Cheese, shout out big.
I c P fan. I've would wait way too much.
I c P music over there, not a whole lot
of a go being straight on each other. That's but
don't listening to sports. Be careful what you wish for.
(41:11):
We'll tell you why in just about a minute now,
without further ado. My partner, my friend, let's get him
a rousing hand right here. He's the hardest working man
in radio today. I love the death. He's the brains
of the outfit, the one and only Brian No b
hour to take about my friend. Oh wow, that you're
too kind man. You are my flavor flav Andy. You
(41:31):
do a great job hyping me up. So I appreciate that, man.
But always good to be here with you on a
Sunday morning, and mad do we have a lot to
talk about today? Ball time, baby ball, It's ball ball.
It is ball centric today. That's FCC complaint, but that's
how we're rolling here today. That's third three days of
just deliciousness. Andy. I loved it. I loved every minute.
(41:54):
I really did. I I can't believe how many hours
I spent in front of the tube watching the Draft,
not even watching and an actually event, but watching something
that I thought was the closest thing to sports. And
I'm sure I'm not alone because it was like thirteen
some odd million people were watching a record of that,
and you know, look, I understand people a sports starve,
(42:16):
but still in all it is the draft. They normally
have double figures anyway, you know, ten to twelve million
people watching, so you know, now they goosted up a
little bit because people are dying for it, and now
we gotta hope there's a season. But in the first round,
thirteen wide receivers a record. It was like an SEC draft.
That's basically what it was. Alabama and l s U
(42:36):
basically in that order. That's the way it was. Just
so wif players from the SEC in the first round,
that's amazing. Fifteen and thirty two, that's wild, right, Like
the depth of talent in the SEC, that's what drives
me crazy when they're sold short by many as a conference.
It's like, look at L s U. They won the
whole thing. They waxed Oklahoma, they c ushed Clemson, and
(43:02):
then you look at the conference. They have all this
NFL talent and yet there are so many out there.
They're like, oh, the SEC overrated. I don't know why
everybody makes such a big deal, and it's like, well,
then winning a national championship and being that rich in
NFL talent, it kind of matters, kind of certainly. Does
you know? I heard something during the course of the
three days, and I forgot where I heard it from,
(43:22):
but one of the scouts, one of the personnel people, said,
I think it was a personnel guy saying that we
send our number one scout to scout SEC games because
it's the best talent. I never knew that. I mean,
I didn't know this a picking order in scouts. I
never knew that. But I guess the scout that is
the most talented, who has the best I the keen
I the keener I goes to SEC games because there's
(43:43):
the best talent in the SEC. Yeah. And look, we
all know, Andy, that talent can come through and produce
from Nonpower five schools or lesser Power five conferences, right,
we all know that. But there is something to be
said some of these guys from Nonpower five leagues. There
(44:04):
are scouts, There are personnel evaluators that say, listen, you
gotta keep it in your mind that they haven't seen
most likely an NFL caliber player opposite of them, and
so they might look great in the MAC, but you know,
it's gonna what's gonna be like when you're facing the
elite competition and some of those guys pan out and
(44:27):
other guys don't. It's just it's something you keep in
your mind as you're evaluating a dude who looks all
world but you're like, you've got to consider the competition
at the same rate. Ran. Look, this question walks all
over the place, including a question walk in the draft
itself with the green Bay Packers because it was interesting
to see the situation in Green Bay because Aaron Rodgers
(44:48):
prior to the draft, City needed some help on the
offensive side of the ball. So instead of using the
first three picks to kind of build up maybe even
the run defense, or maybe give Aaron Rodgers some help
in the pay game, what did they do? They go
ahead and draft a quarterback out of Utah State Jordan loved.
Then they draft a running back out of Boston College,
(45:08):
a j. Dillon, And then they get a tight end
out of the University of Cincinnati. I mean, really, what
were they doing to Aaron Rodgers only and the chemistry
fact that the fact that Jordan's is coming in here,
you know, and I guess speculation did the air apparent.
It's not a healthy situation all around, and a poor
draft a boot Yeah. Man, it just does not make
(45:29):
sense to me. This is like if you are the Dolphins,
if you're a rebuilding team, and you say, all right,
we're not gonna be a championship contender in if we're
being honest with ourselves, so let's take a guy who
could pay major dividends to three years from now. Okay,
(45:50):
that makes sense. If you're the Packers and you were
jest in the NFC Championship game and you got clobbered
by the way against the forty niners for the second
time that season, and you're not getting help that can
help you immediately. I just don't understand that. And there
are a lot of questions if Jordan Loves gonna pan
(46:10):
out regardless, but when it's way in the future, it
just it doesn't add up to me. There are so
many other ways that they could have gone that impact
not only the future of the Packers, but help them
right here, right now. And you should be maximizing the
years that Aaron Rodgers still has left to play at
a high level. Well, go on stuff further. They drafted
(46:32):
as if they're rebuilding and I'll say right now, this
team is on the cusp of a Super Bowl. They are.
They're They're right in the conversation of potential Super Bowl.
They really are. And the picks that they drafted, I
will tell you right now, And and look if they're insulted,
if they're hearing me, you guys are backups. They drafted
backups in the first three pigs. And that's not a good,
healthy situation for a team that is just knocking on
(46:54):
the door to become a Super Bowl contender, right for
that particular team, their backups like they could start elsewhere,
but not for the Packers right now. And that's what's
strange to me. You just you didn't need a running
back in Aaron Jones is doing a fantastic job, and
yet they go with A J. Dillon out of Boston College.
(47:15):
I just don't get it for your top two picks
to be utter head scratchers. And also, think about this, Andy,
there aren't many quarterbacks as ill equipped to handle this
in classy fashion as Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers doesn't seem
like the guy to be like, all right, you know,
I get it, you're thinking about the future. I'm thirty six. Fine,
(47:40):
no issue. Like he's been petty before, He's been passive
aggressive before, he's been outspoken before. When they got rid
of his quarterbacks coach years ago, he went public and
had a big problem with it. I just I don't
look at Aaron Rodgers as the guy to handle this
graciously and classy, and it's a recipe for disaster. I
(48:02):
just hate it. I hate the move for the here
and now for the Packers, And first of all, it
puts Jordan's love in a real tough situation. You know,
is he gonna learn at the coattails of Aaron Rodgers.
That's number one. So he's in an embarrassing tough situation.
Number one. Number two as far as Aaron Rodgers is concerned,
some morons are even speculating right now, well, they drafted
Jordan's love for a motivational tactic to motivate here. Come on,
(48:25):
give me a break. You motivated guy's gonna be a
he's a future Hall of Famer. You don't have to
motivate Aaron Rodgers. I mean, certainly he's been motivated right
now because he's gonna be really outspoken towards the front
officer of the Green Bay Packers because they did him
no favors in the passing game, which he wanted to
privatly the draft. Yeah, I think that he's gonna be
more motivated if he's got one of the top receivers
(48:48):
to throw too, and they could have had that, They
could have had a guy like Denzel Mims out of Baylor.
I think that's gonna help out Aaron Rodgers a lot
more than the so called motivation of Jordan's love. I
think that's the better way to go. But I just
don't know how much longer Aaron Rodgers is going to
be there in Green Bay. This move, it accelerates the
(49:09):
process of life without Aaron Rodgers. And so could we
see him in Chicago in the not too distant future, right?
Could you see him as a Patriot at some point
pretty soon? I'd be fascinating to see. But I just
I don't know. Man. Look, maybe Jordan's love pans out
(49:30):
and this is a great long term approach for the
Green Bay Packers. I'm not sitting here saying he's destined
to fail. I don't know that. I think the odds
are against him panning out and being a true franchise guy.
But we know this Andy. Short of Aaron Rodgers getting
hurt and Jordan's love going in there playing competent football
(49:51):
and winning games and keeping the season afloat like the
Saints last year with Teddy Bridgewater. Short of Aaron Rodgers
getting hurt and Jordan's love going out, they're playing. Well.
This move does nothing for the Packers right now, nothing
when you wrap your mind around. If they use that
pick on a kicker and anybody that's seeing the field,
it's gonna help the Packers out more than Jordan's love
(50:14):
if he's just holding a clipboard while Aaron Rodgers is
healthy and playing. You know, here's something that I read.
I cut this out. This here with you to the
arrival of Jordan Low on round one could boost Rogers
to continue to play at a high level, providing maybe
the same kind of kick in the rear end that
Jimmy Garoppolo's presence as second round picked it with Tom Brady?
(50:34):
Are you kidding me? You think Tom Brady was was
threatened by Jimmy Garoppolo. I mean, and then the stories
came out there push he went to Garoppolo gone, I mean,
come on already, right right, Well, I I believe those
I think he was threatened. But here's the thing, Andy,
It's not as if without Jimmy G, that Tom Brady
(50:55):
is just going through the motions like training camp. I
don't know, am I fired up to go out there
and win this game? Not really like he's not going
through the motions if there's no Jimmy G there to
begin with, you know what I mean? So this idea
that all he was solely motivated by Jimmy G. That's
(51:16):
just that's not the reality that dude's fired up about anything.
It didn't take Jimmy G to get him going amazing.
I mean, I I just don't understand how a general
manager in the National Football League cannot even pay attention
to his Hall of Fame quarterbacks saying help me please.
You know, we need help on the defensive end of
the ball. There's no doubt, and they're gonna try to
(51:37):
answer that. I get that, But as far as the
passing game and a backup running back from Boston College,
this is a passing league. You got one of the
greatest passes of all time on your team and you
can't help him out. I don't get it, And really
I would not be surprised if if he's out of
there now, who'll play there this year? If there is
a year. But look, I think that his days in
(51:57):
Green Bay and numbered. I really believe that Scott was
to go. He wants to play it to his mid forties,
There's no doubt about that. But obviously before you leave,
you want to maybe have one more ring on your finger.
You want to have it and you want to be
in a situation where you can. That's why Tom Brady left.
I mean, tom Brady has set the stage for Aaron Rodgers.
Think about that. Tom Brady left not for money. He
(52:18):
left of fame and not his own thing, a team fame. Well,
here's the thing, Andy like, if you just look at
this in terms of the Packers, this is another reason
why the move doesn't make a lot of sense. Is
the big luxury to having a quarterback, especially in the
first round, as you get him cheaper right towards when
Jordan's Love was drafted. Overall, you get him on the cheap.
(52:41):
You're cutting in to his cheap years by having him
on the bench and not playing. So the big benefit
right there, if Aaron Rodgers is still the quarterback of
the Packers for two three years. These cheap years of
Jordan's love are being wasted because you're not getting him
out there. You still have this high price tag with
Aaron Rodgers. So from that standpoint, just financially, it doesn't
(53:05):
make a lot of sense. I know it could happen
where history could repeat itself and Aaron Rodgers sits for
three years when he was drafted No. Five. Then you
fast forward to oh seven there in the NFC Championship
game when Tom Coughlin's face was about to fall off
in Green Bay, but they were a game away from
taking on the undefeated Patriots. So it's still it could

It's rolling along because it's ball. Yes it is, and
I know you love every minute of it. I love
every minute of it. And I also love Rusty Cage
from sound Garden. It's a great poll by Chris here
by the way, little piece of information, Andy Furman, you
(54:56):
haven't checked it out before, little recommendation. Check out Johnny
Cash the Man in Black doing a rendition of Rusty
Cage by sound Garden. It is fantastic. That's your homework,
assignment after the show. Here Andy, listen to Rusty Cage
the original from Sound Garden, then listen to Johnny Cash's
(55:18):
rendition of it. You will not be disappointed. It's fantastic. Okay,
I was disappointed to listening to this when they said
the Philadelphia Eagles, with the fifty three pick overall Friday,
take Jalen Hurts in the second round quarterback, I said,
I said, there's something wrong with my TV. I mean,
why are they doing this? I don't understand. I mean,
(55:40):
there's no there's no sense. And unless maybe and I'm
the only thing I was stretching when I said, maybe
they did it because it's the best available talent at
that point in time. But it's not not a good draft.
Not a good draft for a team that is usually
right up there near the top, the Philadelphia Eagle. First
of all, the first pick, what a Regord, the the
wide receiver from TCU. Why did they take him over
(56:02):
Justin Jefferson. That's the first question I have with the Eagles.
So there's a couple of questions I with the Eagles.
I just didn't make any sense. And look, far be
it from me to tell the team who to draft.
I mean, I I know about as much about football
talent then you can put it to a thimble and
put a quart of oil in there as well. So
I'm just saying that reading the reports over the last
several weeks, Justin Jefferson to me, who is probably the
(56:25):
better receive over Regor the kid from TCU, and they
picked him. They picked Jalen over him. I don't understand. Well, hey,
listen man, Time will tell if this works out or not.
But I just think that as far as the wide
receivers go, is it Justin Jefferson, is it reagor from
TCU they ended up with that was a reach. They
reached for the guy. But who knows, Maybe it turns
(56:47):
out to be the right call. But for the here
and now, in terms of Jalen Hurts, that's what I
don't understand. I don't understand why you'd use the fifty
third overall pick for that guy. To back up, Yes,
Carson Wentz has been banged up before, but the guy's
twenty seven years old. He's not on the way out.
This isn't an Aaron Rodgers situation where I don't like
(57:09):
that movie either. Getting Jordan's love, but at least it
makes a little bit more sense. Aaron Rodgers isn't gonna
last forever. You could have literally Carson Wentz there for
the next decade. So it's like, what, why are you
drafting a guy with the fifty third overall pick that's
largely gonna be holding a clipboard Unless Carson Wentz is
(57:31):
banged up, he's a developmental player. Maybe you can use
him like a Swiss army knife here and there, get
him a couple of plays. Maybe it's a goal line package,
you get Jalen Hurts in there with the run pass option.
I don't know. Maybe you have a couple of trick
players here and there that's not worthy of a second
round pick. In my estimation. I'm gonna go one stuff
further because Howie Roseman, the general manager of the Philadelphia Eagles, said,
(57:55):
and I'm quoting now, the decision that Jeff Hurts was
quote independent of Wentz. You know what, Roseman, You're full
of it. You're full of it because it isn't independent.
You're drafting a guy in his position. If the assigned
went to a four year one or the twenty eight
million dollar extension this passed June, then they come back
and say, Philadelphia values having a quote second quarterback unquote.
(58:19):
The organization doesn't like using the term back up, a
philosophy that was validated when they've got Nick Foles coming
in there for the back. Well, he is a backup?
Is he not a threat? He's not independent of Wentz?
I mean, come on, he's a backup quarterback. I'm not
independent of Wentz because I don't play pro quarterback. That
(58:41):
just makes no sense at all. Do you think that
the that the Chiefs would say, hey, listen, drafting Jalen
Hurts was an independent decision over here, like it would
make no sense whatsoever. They would clearly know Mahomes is
unbelievable Why we drafted quarterback and used to pick that high.
I think also to drive this home, Andy, it's interesting
(59:02):
what a team just above the Eagles did overall pick
the Steelers with Big Ben who missed almost all of
last season with elbow injury, who was getting closer and
closer to forty years old. They go with the receiver
out of Notre Dame, Claypool instead of drafting Jalen Hurts.
(59:24):
It would have made way more sense for the Steelers
to draft Jalen Hurts and they're like, no, we're trying
to win now, We're trying to surround Big Ben with
weapons and also another layer they might not believe in
Jalen Hurts. It could have been two pronged right there.
I'll take you Claypool and raise you one. I'll tell
you what, and it's I don't know where they were
on the board at this point in time. The Patriots
never drafted a quarterback at all in the draft. Think
(59:46):
about that. There's a team that everybody was google, who
are you gonna drift? Who are you gonna drift? They
need a quarterback, you know, so I don't know. Well, hey, listen, man,
there are times where it's a random example. But take
a guy like Travis Frederick, who is now standing center
for the Dallas Cowboys, and they got him thirty first overall,
and it was determined at the time it was viewed
(01:00:07):
as a reach pick. I remember mill Keeper Jr. Saying
I mean I had a third round great on the guy.
He might turn out to be good, but I don't
know why you're drafting him this early. And if he
turns out to be as good of a player as
Frederick was before retiring, to this offseason. I mean, it
pays dividends. So the point I'm trying to make is
sometimes picks are met with mass skepticism and they actually
(01:00:30):
pan out. I don't think that's what we're looking at here,
because I just don't see the scenario working out where Okay,
Jalen Hurts gets in there, he's got an opportunity and man,
this dude just crushes it. I don't see both of
those things lining up. You know, there is no logical
reason why he was drafted at that point in time. Now,
(01:00:54):
seventh round, if he's still around, I could I could
look that was way lower, but six five, maybe fourth round.
But when they drafted him in the draft, and you know,
I would like to do I may do this after
the show. I should have done it prior to. I
would have loved to seeing the papers of Philadelphia Press
what they probably did to Howie Roseman with the pick.
They must oh and I I just I thought about that,
(01:01:18):
and they've probably just ripped him to shreds. Really, I mean,
I mean, how do you do I don't understand that.
I mean, and more than that, just the chemistry factor.
I mean, if you're Carson Wentz you gotta be concerned.
I mean, I don't think so. I don't. But it's
just another layer, you know, it's another layer of First
(01:01:38):
it was Nick Foles who was Carson Wentz got hurt.
He was having an m v P caliber season. He
gets hurt, Nick Foles goes in there, they win a
super Bowl. The rest is history. But you talk about
the ghost of Nick Foles until Carson Wentz wins the
super Bowl. That's hanging over him now. Instead of getting
him some help, they get him Alan Hurts, Like, look
(01:02:01):
at last season with some of the play around him.
J j Arthega Whiteside a hundred and sixty nine yards
receiving in sixteen games last season. Greg Ward has twenty
two career catches. Deshan Jackson is thirty three years old.
He'll be that in this season. Right, Like you had
dudes that were basically waiters at the waffle house playing
(01:02:25):
wide receiver last year and now it's a really deep
wide receiver draft, and you bypass that you could have
gotten something that helps Carson Wentz, who's supposed to be
a franchise guy here and now, and that isn't the
case with Jalen Hurts. I hate the move. I don't
like it at all. Well, and another possibility, I don't
(01:02:45):
know know. Nate Sudfeld was signed to a one year
deal as far as a backup quarterback with the Eagles.
I don't know what Nate Sudfeld is gonna do right now,
but here's a possibility. And I'm trying to like be
the positive ray of sunshine once again, as I usually
yea that I go to you. I'm like, man, I'm
feeling down. Who could cheer me up? I know what?
Peterson is a creative offensive coach, right, And if you
(01:03:06):
look at Jalen Hurts, he ran for something like twenty
touchdowns on the ground. Maybe they could use Jalen Hurts
as something that they do in New Orleans with Taysom Hill.
Maybe maybe I'm with you somewhat he's and we all
know this, He's not the same bulldozer that Taysom Hill is,
(01:03:27):
so he wouldn't be used the same exact way. But
I know you're not saying that right. You're talking about, Hey,
do you have a goal line package for Jalen? Do
you have him line up in the slot and you
don't know who's gonna throw the ball. Maybe you have
a little razzle dazzle and you have some of those
type of looks. Yeah you could, but that's not worthy
of a second rounder. But you know, it's not even
(01:03:49):
close to the value of that fifty third overall pick
what you hope to get on the football field. Production wise,
It just it doesn't make any sense to me. I
don't know. I just again, people, you spend so much
money and so much time on travel and looking and
(01:04:10):
looking at this stuff over there as far as talent,
and this is what you do after six seven months
of preparation. It's say and take some hill for the record,
Andy undrafted free agents. You know they didn't draft him
in the second round to be a little bit of
a Hey, let's it's bust out the Swiss Army knife.
(01:04:31):
Pay some hill here. That's not a second rounder. Okay,
that undrafted dude. See here's the thing. Now it comes
back on my shoulders and I can handle it because
there's a tweet from Darren Jenkins, and Darren Jakins says,
I hope Jalen Hurts becomes a star. To shut year
old mouth up. He says, I'm full of it. You
don't understand Darren, God gave you two years to listen. Okay,
(01:04:52):
one mouth to talk, two years to listen, and you're
not listening. I'm not attacking Jalen Hurts whatsoever. I hope
he's a star in this league. I'm attacking how he
rosen for the draft pick at that point in time,
to waste to pick on that second round. So has
nothing to do with Jalen Hurts. So you you, Darren Jenkins,
full of it? You're full of it. There you go,
Brian No, And now that's the ray of sunshine, positivity
(01:05:16):
right there on display. That's why go to you for that?
And you're my guy. And I'll tell you what if
Darren Jenkins goings to call us at eight seven seven
ninety nine Fox, We're here to discuss it as individuals,
as mature adults, yes, or at the no show, and
we show her at Andy Firm an FSL. But the
man behind the mask makes sense, will explain this. But
(01:05:37):
here's another guy who should wear a mask, Brian Finley,
the Latest. Well, here's the thing. If I wore a mask,
that would be reflective on you, because you're my father,
so you must not be good looking either. You've got
some bad jeans at that day. That not the ones
you wear either. No, those ones are the belt chromosomes. Yes, okay, yes,
of course guys. Even after the NFL Draft, the Saints
(01:06:00):
bolstering their quarterback rooms, so they tap back in the
free agency, and Yallow Sports is reporting New Orleans is
putting the finishing touches on a one year deal with
free agent quarterback Jamis Winston. Last season, Winston as a
Tampa Bay buccaneer, puking all over the field thirty five
turnover is including thirty interceptions. Eight quarterbacks coming off the
(01:06:21):
board Saturday in the final rounds of the draft, including
Washington QB Jacob Eason in the fourth round to the Colts,
and Indie general manager Chris Ballard telling Colts fans afterwards
to temper the enthusiasm over Eason. Let's slow our role
a little bit in terms of, you know, tagging, this
guy's the next Messiah walking into town. He was a
(01:06:43):
fourth round pick. We didn't move up to the first
pick of the draft. Jacob's got talent, he's got to work,
and he's gotta earn it. Brian, I hear you chuckling.
Why would GM say that but but here's the who
is saying Jacob Pison is the Messiah who Yeah, he's
just making stuff up at this point, that's ridiculous. The
(01:07:03):
only other fourth round quarterback selected was James Morrigan out
of Florida International. He heads to the Jets. ESPN is
reported the NBA will allow team facilities to open up
starting this Friday, and regions of the country where the
government's stay at home orders are easing, the players who
are granted access will be forbidden from staging team practices
(01:07:25):
at least at this point. Whether you rent or own,
Geico makes it easy to bundle home and auto insurance.
Having a home is hard work, so I gotta quoted
Geico dot com. It is easy, Andy, I got your
gift in the mail, the Bengals speedo. It barely covers anything.
Just like that. Since he defense back to you, guys, well,
you don't have much of a package to cover anyway,
(01:07:45):
So it's okay. Really, you're my father, so you would know. Well,
you were circumcised as a kid, so you understand. We
move along. I was seeing an hour. Okay, no one's
laughing at it. Now. We'll get to that in just
about a minute. He is Brian no Man de firming.
This is Fox Sports Sunday with a heavy emphasis on football.

But now we talk about a general manager, A lot
of people consider a goof they really I don't know
why he was wearing a master in the draft. He's
a Giants general manager, Dave Gentleman. He wore a mask,
but if you listen to him underneath the mass, he
makes a lot of sense. He takes Andrew Thomas, one
of the top rated offensive tackles in the draft. He
(01:08:49):
passed on taking Isaiah Simmons, linebacker on the eighth pick
Coast Arizona, though, but look what Dentleman has has done
his last three drafts quarterback Daniel Jones, who may very
well be a good wanter back in the NFL, but
he stuck with him. Okay, gotta from Duke he he
backs him up, which Shai Kwon Barkley from Penn State,
and now Andrew Thomas. So he's got three pretty good
(01:09:10):
picks and his last three drafts. Let's see what happens
to the Giants this year, y'all. Yeah, I mean listen,
I like Xavian McKinney out of Alabama. That could be
a good pick, and uh yeah, yeah, he's a good player.
Andrew Thomas. I think that's interesting. There was no consensus
top tackle in the draft. The opinions varied very much.
(01:09:34):
Is it Jeddrick Wills? Is it gonna be Tristan Worth's?
Is it Andrew Thomas? So I think there's initially a
reaction of WHOA, we didn't have this in the mock
drafts of Andrew Thomas going that high, So it it
seems like a reach pick. Time will tell whether that's
a good selection or not. But I mean, the jury
(01:09:55):
is still out on these guys. Aside from sa Kwan Barkley,
who is clearly a special player. Other guys that you mentioned.
Daniel Jones could go either way. Could be a dude
that pants out, could be a guy that's a bust.
We don't know. It's just too early to tell, right,
But I'm more here defending Dave Getleman, who basically has
been written off as a goofball really and he didn't
(01:10:15):
help himself with the mask, right. Why why the mask?
I mean he lymphoma and he also had a technician,
as many of these guys had. There was a technician
with less need, the RAMS general manager. I believe it's
a technician, but someone was wearing a mask in the
background where less Need was set up. And you've got
(01:10:37):
Dave Gettlman sixty nine years old, right, he recovered from lymphoma.
He's at risk. So if there happens to be an
I T guy in his place, that's why he's wearing
a mask. I get it. I mean, look, I think
the guy has done a pretty good job with the Giants.
I gotta turn it around one day. They gotta turn
it around. And I think the key to it right
now is Daniel Jones. And you hit a run on
(01:10:58):
the hand. I mean, he showed some brilliant at points
last year. But do you know if he's gonna be
a good NFL quarterback? Hey, sometimes it takes two or
three years to adjust to get it together. Who knows.
I mean, you know, the other New York team is
not much better as far as their quarterback situation is concerned.
So I don't know. I don't know what's gonna happen,
but I'd like to see the Giants turn it around.
(01:11:18):
I mean, he got he got drilled when he drafted
sa Kon Barkley two years ago. He said it was
the wrong pick at that point in time. So you know,
and I think he's developed into a tremendous NFL player.
Well he is. It's just look man, the shelf life
he could be. He could have half the career in
terms of production as Sam Donald. And I know Sam
(01:11:39):
Donald has not been a prize just yet, but I
would also look at the weapons around him. Goodness, look
at the wide receivers that Sam Donald has had to
throw too. He's not a who's who. Robby Anderson was
like the best dude he's had. He's got Quincy and
Noon Wa with Yeah. Like, so I think that it's
(01:12:00):
too early to write off completely Sam Donald, And if
Donald ends up having a career that is twice as
long as say Kwan Barkley. Yeah, Barkley is He's fantastic,
but the shelf life is a lot shorter with running backs.
That's the risk when you take one of those guys
compared to a quarterback that pans out and is there
for ten fifteen years. Well, you know, always say ask
(01:12:20):
can you shall receive Darren Jenkins, who I kind of
like chastise a little bit. He's on the line on
Fox Sports ready it wants to talk to Brian Noah myself. Hello,
Mr Jenkins, how are you good morning people house? Everything good, good, good. No,
My whole thing is I don't see what's wrong with
the second round pick of Galon Hurt. He proved that
(01:12:42):
he's a winner. He handled the situation with Tour better
than most pros or almost college players would. He went,
he transferred to Oklahoma. Lincoln Riley helped mode him into
a much better quarterback than he was at Alabama, and
I feel two or three years under Peterson will make
(01:13:05):
on me the better quarterback. And with cosin One's history
of injury and him being a mobile quarterback, I think
Galen Hurst will fit right in with Philadelphia. Well, you
think it's just too high for a backup though, that's
the whole thing. It's not, it's not. He's got to
your point, Jalen Hurts is gonna handle this role just fine.
He's a mature dude. He handles himself classy. But like,
(01:13:28):
it's too high of a pick for a guy that's
in case of emergency break glass. You know, I just
I don't think that you're gonna get the return on
that investment when you have Wentz who's twenty seven years old.
Who are you are hoping is the future? And unless
he's injured and you've got to go to Plan B,
that's really the only way this pick can work out
(01:13:50):
for Jalen Hurts as a second rounder. Yeah, and honestly,
we're not knocking the quarterback on what he's done, and
he's he had a great career in college. You's no
doubt about that. But if you want to talk about
Techning Carson Wentz, there's no backup on any of the
three starters on the interior offensive line, and they could
have gone in that direction. Ruch, I don't think they
filled their needs or their immediate needs. Right now. Yeah,
(01:14:11):
Jalen Hurts is a heck of a player in college.
He was. We don't know what he do in the pros,
and he's not going to be an immediate I guess
situation for the Philadelphia Eagles down the road. He might
and maybe he'll play if Wentz gets hurt. But I
don't think he was. He was. I think it was
a wasted pick. That's all I'm saying. A wasted pick
at that point in time. I liked the greeting a
(01:14:31):
lot from Darren, and we appreciate the call where he
was like, how's it going? People like that, that was
a good time right after me, and you know, but
that's he's It's very pleasant, right. I was expecting fireworks.
He was very nice. That was Mr Jenkins. Thank you
so very much. You were very well thought out and
you spoke nicely. And and I tell you what, I
sort of take back some of the yelling and screaming
(01:14:52):
I did towards you. Listen to listen to the guilt.
I'm glad he came in nice. So you feel guilty
about I do really feel spirited things you were saying
about our guy, Darren Jenkins. Well, but Basically what he
did is tell us how good Jen Hurts wasn't the
college and that's all you could do because he hasn't
played the pros yet. But still, it's the pick. It's
it's not the layer, it's not the player, it's where
(01:15:14):
he was picked. And also, like, look, we all know
that a lot of college success doesn't translate to the pros.
Look at how successful Tim Tebow was or Colt McCoy
at Texas and the list goes on and on and on.
So that's nice that Jalen Hurts was productive in college,
doesn't mean anything in terms of it being set in
stone that it's going to transfer to the pros. The
(01:15:35):
jury's out. If that guy even gets an opportunity, if
he's gonna flourish, we don't know. And I think with
him just getting a start here a start there for
an injured Carson Wentz, that's gonna hurt his own development.
So I don't think it's a great spot for him either. Look,
they could have gone and I think if you were
to look at the Philadelphia Eagles right now, what the
(01:15:56):
priorities could have been should have been corner it back.
Didn't have something like seven or eight different quarterback starting
last year for them for whatever the reason. Okay, safety
and cornerback past a wide receiver. Uh many areas many
and and quarterback was not on that list. That's all
I'm saying. So you know they did what they did.
(01:16:17):
It's all it's water on their bridge. And you know what,
I don't have to live with it. You don't have
to live with it. Howie Roseman has to live with it. Really,
and really, it may be it may be his demise.
If they come out with a poor season and Wentz
plays all games and doesn't get hurt and hurts, never
sees the daylight, Howie Roseman was gonna be hurting you
get Really, he'll pay the price. I don't know if
(01:16:40):
it's gonna be his demise. They get a Super Bowl, ring,
they're still winning a lot of games. It's just he's
gonna hear about that pick a lot. I don't know
that it's gonna lead to a pink slip or anything
like that. He's far away from that, uh coming to fruation.
But yeah, I don't like to pick. We've made it pretty.
I will tell you that I like Darren Jenkins, but
I don't like to pick. How's that all right, Brian
(01:17:00):

in Brian's friends. This week, Andy, you went two in one,
so I got a winning week this week. So we
(01:19:36):
carry over one week. I'll write the ship here vine, Well,
we're gonna try that. We got Belarusian Soccer a LF
championship instead at Zappa dash three over under a three
and a half goals. Well, um, props to Frank Zappa. Right,
so I'm gonna go that direction. I'm gonna say that
(01:19:57):
there is defense school. Lord give me the under. I'll
go with the over. Let us scoring in that league.
I've been watching it lately. I really have a lot
of scoring, a lot of goals. All right, we move
on to basketball. We have Nicaraguan basketball going on. Yeah,
so big, big, big stuff going down on in Nicaragua
with some basketball bonanza. That's a great team name at
(01:20:21):
Leonie Dave Managua. I think I'm pronouncing that correctly minus
fourteen and a half for Leones. What do you guys
think here? Um? You know what? Go ahead? I'm going
with the dog. I hear dogs barking on this one,
you know, and so I'm gonna take it. I'm gonna
take the the plus one and a half and ride
(01:20:43):
with those dogs to a victory. I'm going with It's
gonna be a Bonanza to Bonanza, all right. And finally,
our our last game of the this week's bottom barrel betting.
We got Coasta Carriba at Boca or book Coast to
Careba is minus thirteen and a half. Wow, big lines
(01:21:07):
this week. I'll take Coast to I'll take it. I'll
take the thirteen. I got Coast to Corrica. How many
disagreements do we have this farn Just one? Just one?
If you were going with you over under from our
last week's game, alright, I'm gonna I'm gonna agree with you, Andy,
I'm going with Coasta. What is it? Yeah? Yeah, I'm
(01:21:30):
gonna agree with you. So it's down to that one
game because I have you on that one. Sounds wonderful,
by the way, maybe their strength and numbers. We'll tell
you all about it on Fox Sports Sunday next. Don't
listen to Fox Sports talk about hoarding. Will you hear
this We'll get to that in just about a minute.
But right now it's time to say, wash your hands
(01:21:52):
and wake up America. Here we go, it's that time.
It's Fox Sports Sunday. Hey one more time, babe, one more,
give me one more son, I got hit by a truck.
He's Brian no I'm Andy Firman. We are coming to
you live from the Fox Sports Radio studios, brought to
you by Geico. Fifteen minutes can save you fifteen percent
(01:22:14):
oh more on car insurance. Visit Geico dot com. Why
for a free rate quote? That's why. Now this is
in fact the Hour of Power, a k a. The
Power Hour. There's none more powerful, I promise you that
in the world of sports talk radio than my partner
and friend, the brains of the outfit, the hardest working
man in radio today, the one and only Brian No.
(01:22:36):
B We're rolling to three. How you doing doing fantastic here,
Andy Ferman. Great to be with you here on a
Sunday morning as we are in ball recap mode, and
I just have a random observation for you, Andy Firman,
because Cliff Kingsbury, the Arizona Cardinals head coach, his place
(01:22:56):
of residence was quite the talking point, right, How beautiful
that look that was sif feet or something like that.
Oh it was with the mountains in the background, just
majestic over there. And my thought was, this guy was
thirty five and forty at Texas Tech as the head coach,
and in the Big twelve he was nineteen and thirty five.
(01:23:19):
But if you are an offensive mind, if you're a progressive,
offensive thinker, that could be your house. That's the way
it is in today's NFL. No God West Cliff Kingsbury
for having that offensive mindset and then having a pad
that looks like that. Goodness, let's go one stuff further
and let's let's be white, and let's lay it on
(01:23:40):
the line. Let's be honest to you. I mean, you
and I do this not so much for the paycheck,
but we do it for the passion and the love
of sports we enjoy. You know, it's great to get
up in the morning and do what you really want
to do in life. And this is what we really
want to do. This is like our calling, all right.
But are there certain times when you say to yourself, man,
I could have really shot the moon if I kind
(01:24:00):
of worked that a little more had a little more ability.
I mean play the game, coached the game, and live
like those guys live. Have there there are thoughts like
that gone through your mind. No, not really, I haven't.
I didn't watch Cliff Kingsbury and be like, you know
what I sold myself short should have been in an
NFL head coach. You know, I understand what you're saying.
(01:24:23):
I get it, But um No, I don't think that
there's been one area where I'm like, gosh, if I
would have applied myself, I would be one of the
best in this area. I don't look at it like that.
I just look at it where hey man his career
path that led him down that road, and just the
way the game has evolved being an offensive mind, like
(01:24:43):
think of it. Can you imagine a defensive minded head
coach that goes thirty five and forty in college football
and then ends up with an NFL head coaching job, Like,
there's no way that would happen. No, you're exactly right,
and I'm glad you said what you said because I
feel of the same way as you do. I mean,
my passion and even my high school year book, I
(01:25:03):
wrote this my goal in life. I wanted to be
the PR director of the New York Knicks. I love basketball,
and I love that kind of work, and I and
I I kind of went my appetite over the years
and in various colleges where I was a sports information
guy and work for a couple of proteins as well.
So I got my fixed there. I never made it
to the Knicks, but that's what I basically wanted to do.
And I love doing what I do right now. So
(01:25:24):
I didn't look at Kingsbury or anybody else saying I
could have done that. First of all, I don't have
the god given ability in sports to play the game
like those guys, and and I wouldn't want to work
the twenty hours a day and sleep on the couch
and do the game preparations and live like that. I
just I'm not I'm not doing that. I don't want
to do that. Well, yeah, and that's a good point,
is there's a lot of sacrifice and work that goes
(01:25:48):
into getting to a position like that. I just think
it's interesting that, man, you can go thirty five and
forty and have a crib that looks like that. That's
pretty amazing, man. But that's the it is in today's NFL. Well,
you wouldn't mind having Jerry Jones's yacht though, and I
wouldn't be bad. It was fantastic, Like I love that
background too. I just thought it was really cool this
(01:26:10):
draft where just to get a glimpse of a little
bit of their lives, their day to day, whether you
see their living room or you see whatever, you see
their man cave or their yacht or whatever, and you
see some of their loved ones around them. I thought
that was really fun. I thought it was a really
good thing. And you know, I do wonder this and
(01:26:32):
it's a little bit of an outside the box idea.
The kids that were around, I thought it was great,
but it was so like I don't know, the ever present, right.
I wonder if the NFL was like more kids, more kids,
if you got kids, get him in the shot, get
the kids in the shot. It's good. It's good for
business over here because every time you saw someone knew
(01:26:53):
there was a kid in the picture. Yeah, yeah, you know,
I'll go so far as to say this, I I
would not mind seeing a dress off like this again
because I don't need the glitz. I mean, they're gonna
have it in Vegas this year with gondolas right the
players coming down. I don't need that. I mean, you do,
the draft by itself is such a great event. You
(01:27:13):
don't need to put the side dressings on. You don't
need the dressing, you don't need the extra things on
the plate. You really don't. I hear you think that
stuff is cool too, I think. But what they're doing
these drafts at locations, and it's gonna be what Cleveland
next year, followed by Vegas and then Kansas City. So there,
(01:27:34):
this is the new way it is. It's not gonna
be in one location like New York for all those years.
And I think you're probably gonna see a healthy mix. Andy.
You're gonna see some of the players go back live
to the draft like they were the previous year at
Nashville and give Roger Goodell the big Bear hug and
be there, be there in the green room. But I
think you're gonna see more kids than before. Stay at home,
(01:27:58):
because I'm sure there are some that saw it and said,
you know, instead of going there and being physically there,
I'd rather just be in my home or be around
loved ones. So I think you're gonna see more of
a mix of people physically at the draft and then
at home based on how this and I'd soon as
see a kid I was it was it Isaiah Simmons
of who drifted by Arizona. Was he were in the robe?
(01:28:19):
Was either one? Wow? That was Henry Ruggs of the ratings.
Oh yeah, yeah, ready the twelfth pick. Yeah, Henry Ruggs.
I'd soon as see that than seeing these guys wearing
these purple tuxedos. Really, I mean to me, it was
great seeing the guy and sweats the regular people. It
was different. It was fun and um, you know, I
was way wrong. I'll just state that because the Draft
(01:28:41):
has been so incredibly popular, I knew the ratings would
be up based on we just don't have life sports
right now. I didn't know they were gonna be it
was gonna be that big of a jump. But goodness,
when you have what a thirty seven percent uptick in
the first round year to year, you got fifteen point
six million watching the first round, those are staggering numbers. Andy,
(01:29:02):
that's wild. Think about the last dance that's really popular
on ESPN Looking at the yeah, and it's set the
record by a lot over the Bow Jackson documentary. But
it's goodness, what like close to a third issue of
what the first round brought in. That's that's pretty crazy,
(01:29:24):
the popularity of the end. So here's the question on
the table. All right, we had three days of quote sports,
and we got the last dance tonight. What is the
next big event we have to look forward to? Think
about that? Which is And I don't need to scare you,
but I mean I'm concerned because when we talk football
and when the Super Bowl is over, remember I mentioned
(01:29:45):
how depressed you and I both wore, like there's no
more football? All right, now, there's no more sports. What
could possibly be in this? Is Major League Baseball ready
to unveil? I don't. I don't think so. I don't think.
I don't play this year. I don't. I don't know Andy,
how it's gonna go. But the NBA is trying to
take baby steps towards the season resuming. I'm sure you
(01:30:06):
saw this where I find it really interesting. They might
they're gonna open some of the facilities of the cities
that don't have stay at home orders, which I think
is fascinating Andy, because goodness, think about the advantage it
is for teams that can go to their practice facility
and get their shots up, get their treatment, get into
(01:30:27):
the well, the weight room, and you know, like that's
such a huge advantage compared to other cities that have
stay at home orders. The NBA said that they're gonna
try to work out secondary arrangements. I don't know if
it's the local Gold's gym where you can go there.
It's not even gonna be close to their normal New
York is screwed in Oklahoma City gets the Okay, Yeah,
(01:30:50):
I think that's that's pretty interesting because if the season
does resume, you look at the teams that could go
to their practice facility compared to the ones that could
that's a clear distinction between the two. And then I
also wonder, you know, if someone has the virus and
then they're going to the facility, and it can be
(01:31:12):
that could be something that halts the progress of trying
to get the season resumed. So a few layers with
that one for sure. Yeah, And honestly, state of facilities
open and it looks like they're going to open because
they're trying to open America bid by bid, which is
a good thing economically for sure. I don't know about
health wise, but that's another story for another day. But
(01:31:32):
when or if or how can the season be completed?
You're gonna playoffs? Now, what what do you do? I mean,
it's gonna take all these two or three weeks to
get in shape. Yeah, it's a guessing game at this point, Andy,
it really is. And yeah, I like you. I don't
want to be Mr doom and Gloom over here. But
I've said for a while, you always hear about testing, like, hey,
(01:31:55):
we need tests, and tests are the key. And it's
it's not treatment. It isn't a vaccine. It's just a test.
If you have a test that says, hey, von Miller,
you have the coronavirus. Like imagine if von Miller is
an NBA player and he's going to the practice facility
or they're getting closer to opening the doors and resuming
the season. If that player in the NBA is positive,
(01:32:19):
like what then? Like, the test isn't anything but a test,
that's all it is. And they took about numbers how
many people have contracted the virus right now more people
who get tested, that number is gonna rise because there
are people right now walking around with the virus. With
no symptoms, but they may have the virus. So if
you get tested without symptoms, that number is gonna balloon.
(01:32:41):
And again it's gonna be fear and dim and dunk
and all that whatever, and people go crazy. And again
let's go on stuff further. Forget about fans, because I
don't think any fan in the right mind is gonna
go to an arena and sit next to somebody not
six ft up? How you do it? So that's not
gonna happened. And we talked about that about a week
or so ago. Wasn't there a survey said that they
(01:33:05):
would not attend this morning event. So I don't know,
it's just it's not not yeah, and it's listen, man,
We're eventually gonna get past it. I just don't know
when that's gonna be. But to answer you're you're very
dim question over here in ferman while we're trying to
have fun being picked with Paul talk, what do we
have to look forward to next? I don't know. I'm
(01:33:25):
not sure. Hopefully it's maybe the NBA season resuming, hopefully
the football season starting close to on time. But we're
eventually get over it. I just don't know when that's
gonna be man UFC and and horse racing. Maybe I
don't know what one thing with that real fast when
Amanda Noonez says now, I'm I'm good, I'm not gonna
(01:33:46):
compete at UFC two forty nine, Like, does that mean
that ESPN is gonna allow this to go on? Right? Like?
What's gonna What has changed with the ESPN saying hey,
Dana White, don't have this event on a roll eighteen?
What has changed for them to say, nah, green light
May nine? So like, right, I don't see what has
(01:34:07):
changed and what's far better? So they might not have
that event go on? Yeah, and quickly before we roll
out of here, quick quick question for you. You live
in the Portland area, do you notice more traffic now?
Put people in their minds think it's almost over, because
I've noticed ways are still light, very light. Oh, very
(01:34:28):
very yeah, all right, I just just double checking. And
of course Vin A, our executive producer and our leader,
our ultimate leader here tells us possibly golf in the
month of May, golf maybe coming back. And I could
see that I could see golf, but I can see
that you can social distance and hit a few golf.
I've seen people on golf courses in Kentucky the other day.
So are playing golf here? They have opened there, you
(01:34:48):
go there you positive leave it to leave it to

this albabum right now, his temper got the best of him.
And guess what we all noticed it? That's next. Don't

are you ready? Oh? I'm always ready to discuss the
kidding me. Now, if you think the Philadelphia Eagles have
(01:35:53):
a questionable draft all right, with Jalen Hurts as their
quarterback pick early on in the draft, what about the
Chicago Bears. The Bears had the NFL's least productive group
of tight ends in on the forty three overall pick,
the Chicago Bears take Notre Dame's tight end Cole Commit.
Right now, they have ten tight ends on their roster.
(01:36:16):
Ten tight ends on their roster. What that's a misleading
stat because most of those dudes are just that dudes,
like their warm bodies. They're not gonna be making the roster.
They're not challenging for playing time. So you go with
Cole Commit. It's a good pick, of course. You know me.
I'm from South Bend, so I watched the Irish very
(01:36:39):
very closely, and he's a good tight end. It's a
long line of great tight ends from Notre Dame. He's
a good one. So I like that pick. I think
that's a solid pickup by the Bears. Maybe they think
their strength in numbers, which they had the least productive group,
I think they're veteran Trey Burton led the Bears with
fourteen catches and he was cut last week. I think
they just got rid of him last week. So I
(01:37:00):
don't know what the Bears are doing, but it's it's questionable,
and I think that you know, when you have a
draft and you have some teams that do certain things,
it's questionable and one of the biggest questions I thought
that I had seen uh in Friday night in the
third round when the cameras got on Texas coach Bill o'briena.
He's the coach. I guess he's the g M, he's
the president, he's the chief bottle of washing. He's everything
(01:37:21):
on that team. He makes the draft picks. He he
walked away from his set up, his computer set up.
But mee crazy. He was made at the Detroit Lions.
I mean, it was really funny to catch down on TV,
which you would never see in a normal draft. That's
why I really enjoyed his virtual draft. Yeah, it was great, man,
there was a lot of fun. There's no doubt. There's
so many layers to it where if you stick with
(01:37:42):
the Bears for a second. This is sort of draft
related and not really, but the conversation occurred during the draft,
but the Bears are talking about whether they pick up
the fifth year option for quarterback Mitch Robinsky. There's no
way they do this, Andy. They have to make up
their mind by May four. Do you realize that would
cost them around twenty four million dollars That's what they
(01:38:05):
would have to pay the guy in There's no way
you can pick that up in your right mind. But
it's just funny. They're waiting till the last minute too.
If they're wise, say no, you can. How can you
justify picking up twenty four million dollars when you have
Nick Foles who you owe a lot of money now,
And that's when I got and that's what I got
(01:38:27):
him because they didn't want to pick up that option
on Tbisky's not gonna can't pick up that option at all.
I'm with you right there. But they've got a couple
of things in and around the draft. Uh, the Raiders
got a deep threat and Henry Ruggs and I got
the rope too and that pick, so I thought that
was a good pick Alabama Henry Ruggs. So you know,
some good picks there, and kind of want to dwell
(01:38:48):
on the questionable picks, but again we don't Here's the
thing about the Raiders thrown my two cents before you
move on over here, and you gotta wrap a fire
on me over here. I got a little weight on
this one. So we got three wide receivers for the
Raiders in their first four picks. And what I think
is interesting is think about it from Derek Carr's perspective.
I don't know if he's watching the first round, but
(01:39:11):
all this talk about maybe they pick up Jordan's Love.
If I were in Derek carr shoes, I would be
paying attention to the first round. And they had two
picks twelve and nineteen overall, and I'm thinking, all right,
Henry Ruggs, aren't cool. You got a lot of speed,
good route runner, not just the speed guy, so that helps.
And then nineteenth overall. If you're Derek Carr, are you thinking,
(01:39:35):
oh my gosh, oh my gosh, is this Jordan's Love?
And it wasn't. It was. It was a quarterback from
Ohio State. They reached for a little bit, but at
least it's not a guy to take your gig. So
Derek Carr, at least, for is in pretty good shape
based on what the Raiders did. Three wide receivers in
the first four picks. You can think that to what
(01:39:55):
what the Eagles did, what the Packers did. It's just
amazing how the the approaches differ so much team to team. Yeah,
and I think that you can answer the question that
basically the Raiders wanted that guy. Could that home run
threat if you will, you know, and Henry Ruggs is
going to produce that well, at least give them the
opportunity to get that uh in the in their offense.
(01:40:16):
And they didn't have that a year ago, so I
think they need that. You know What's funny though, Andy
is I think this draft, especially as most drafts, it's
a speak now or forever, holds your piece because I
guarantee you if you're just comparing wide receiver to wide receiver.
Let's say Jerry Judy turns out to be unbelievable for
(01:40:38):
the Broncos, it's gonna turn into I knew it. I
knew the Raiders should have taken Jerry Judy. I was
always saying that you're gonna have a lot more experts
three years from now than you do right here right now.
So I just think whatever your stance happens to be,
be honest with yourself, how firmly you believe it or
(01:40:58):
are you just turning into all it's just after a game,
like I I knew the Packers were gonna win that game.
It's like, if you knew that, you probably should have
bet heavily on that. You didn't know, you're just acting
as if you did. It's the same thing with the draft,
right and look, and I think that's why people love
the draft. Why you don't walk away as a fan
(01:41:19):
after a loss. When you if you go to with Dolphin,
you love the Dolphins, and you watch him play, either
on TV or in person, and they lose a game,
you walk away disgusted, dejected, depressed. The draft gives you hope,
that this reason to hope, this belief there's the future
and there's no winner loss that day, it's conversation that, hey,
(01:41:41):
I can't wait for the season to stop because we
got this guy. Will he pan out? You don't know,
So there's hope, there's the future. And that's why the
drift is so popular, especially for the bottom feeders of
the league. You know what what Joe Burrow has done
for the city of Cincinnati. He's uplifted this city. You
would think this team won the Super Bowl. I haven't checked,
(01:42:02):
I haven't asked. I guarantee you they had some hits
already at the box office, which he's in ticket renewals.
If effect, you're gonna play. But that's what he's done.
As I said early on today, the electric billboards all
around town welcome Joe and the fact that he's somewhat
of a neighbor, he's an Ohio guy. That that doesn't
hurt either. But that's what the drift does. It's uplifting. Yeah,
(01:42:23):
well it's it's a heavy dose of optimism, that's really
what it is. But I just think down the road,
do you think these picks are being questioned right now?
With the Packers getting Jordan's Love, with the Eagles getting
Jalen Hurts, any of the moves like that. If you
fast forward and those players don't pan out, and it's
(01:42:45):
coupled with who they could have had, it's just gonna
be NonStop, where oh, and the Eagles could have had
this receiver or this cornerback or this guy was taken
a pick after or two picks before whatever. It's just
gonna be on and on and on and on. What
could have happened. So I think for the bad picks,
(01:43:06):
it's gonna stand out even more than most years, especially
comparing wide receiver to wide receiver. That's definitely gonna be
one of the more interesting conversations as the years unfold. Well,
I think fans have to get into the mode like this.
Before the college football season start of this year, nobody
in their right mind would have thought that Joe Burrow
basically not only would lead his team to the championship
and get a Heisman Trophy winner, but the point they
(01:43:29):
never thought he'd beat the number one pick. I think
Mount Copper had him as the sixth rounder really, and
so it's the same thing basically with the draft. I mean,
earlier in the season, Jonathan Taylor was whispered in conversations
for the Heisman. I was shocked, I mean, and your mind,
what was some of the biggest shockers in the draft
to see it? To me, it was Jonathan Taylor and
(01:43:51):
the Colts got him. I think they traded up from
the forty first pick, but still at all that this
is a guy that could do no wrong going into
the season. Week after week he was like woked about
as a Heisman winner, filled on the wayside for some reason,
and Joe Burrow took over. No wonder who Joe Burrow
was at the time, Well, yeah, I mean just Joe
Burrows meteoric rise. He was around a fifth rounder, like
(01:44:16):
after his teen season, and then he's the no doubt
number one overall pick. It was just a crazy rise
from him. It's random, super NFL nerdy, but a guy
like a tackle out of Auburn, Prince Tega Wanaho. He
was before the year he was talked about is maybe
(01:44:37):
a first round pick. He falls all the way to
the sixth round with the Eagles. It's just stuff like
that where I guess the prognosticators are so far off.
Where that stuff is is pretty interesting to me. And
what's also interesting to me is the so called risers
and fallers based on nothing changing. There's no new game,
(01:45:00):
there's no meetings with teams, and it boggles my mind
more this year than any year how you could have
rapid risers or rapid fallers. It's like how Justin Herbert, Well,
I get it. Justin Herbert kind of rose because of
the injury factor of toa. That's why he he didn't
rise because of his skill set. He rose because of
(01:45:22):
to his injury. Prows that that's what happened. I don't
completely buy that, because t Is still went ahead at Herbert.
You know, the eleventh hour, Mel Kuiper had Herbert going
before him. Okay, but Herbert didn't go in the fifth round.
It's not Herbert getting drafted sixth overall just because Yeah, well,
(01:45:42):
we all knew all those quarterbacks we mentioned would be
in the top six or seven. We knew that they're
not gonna fall out of around one. I mean, I
I don't think it's that big of a deal. So
so justin Herbert goes to l a big deal. I mean,
so it's one slot in the draft, one difference to charges.
He may end up being the best in a lot.
He may be better than Borrow, and to who knows.
(01:46:04):
You just don't know what's gonna happen. It's all about
the system. You get too as well. I mean, I
don't talent around him, but he doesn't throw with anticipation
and he's inaccurate far too often. I just I'm not
a believer. I'll be not rooting against the guy. I'm
just saying here in Portland, I watched every Oregon game
not impressed. I think there's a lot of box score
(01:46:26):
analysis and a lot of hey, what tools does he
have and how could they develop? And when you're a
six six guy with a big arm, and if you're
not watching these games closely, you think, hey, man, he
might pan out. It's like I think, if you watch
the games closer, you're probably not gonna be as optimistic.
He's got three things going for him. He's got size
and all strength, and he's got a four point one
(01:46:48):
a great point average. That's what he's got, all right,
Brian know, Andy Furman, Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Sports.
Rated by the way success has its drawbacks. We'll tell
you all about the next, but here's would draw back.
Brian Fedley with the latest and wondering, when was last
time your g p A was over two point? Oh,
Andy Ferman, that's when I when I combined two semesters.
(01:47:09):
I love it, guys. Jamis Winston unemployed no more. According
to Yahoo Sports, Winston is completing a one year deal
with the New Orleans Saints. The deal is for a
modest amount, although the exact figures have yet to come out.
Winston last season as the Bucks starting quarterback, puking all
over the field, thirty five turnovers, thirty interceptions. The Saints
(01:47:31):
did draft a quarterback in the seventh round, Tommy Stevens
from Mississippi State. New England. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick
said the lack of drafting a quarterback was not by design.
Belichick did scoop up a QB as an undrafted free
agent in Jamar Smith out of Louisiana Tech. The Colt
splurge on Washington quarterback Jacob Eeson in the fourth round.
(01:47:52):
Georgia quarterback Jake from after slumping at the Combine, falls
to the Bills in the fifth round. Thirteen quarterbacks were
draft at to four coming in the seventh round on Saturday,
including Iowa's Nate Stanley. The last QB picked in the draft,
he goes to the Vikings. You might recall his Iowa
Hawk guys emasculated usc last year at the Holiday Bowl.
(01:48:14):
The Cowboys get their hands on Utah defensive end Bradley
and i with the last pick in the fifth round.
The final pick in the draft, the two overall selection,
going to Georgia linebacker Take Crowder. He was second on
the Bulldogs and tackles last year. Two punters got selected.
Brandon Man becomes the first off the board, going to
(01:48:36):
the Jets in the sixth round out of Texas A
and M. He was a team captain on the Aggies
and no fan, like any firman who follows the Bengals,
knows what it's like to have a team punk the football.
You truly are a connoisseur of a great punter, Andy
Firm and my father back to you and my godfather,
Brian No, thank you so much having alright, not too smart.
(01:49:00):
We'll get to that in just about a minute. He is,
in fact, Brian No on Andy Furman, and welcome back everybody.
Did a Fox Boats Radio Studios brought to you by Geico.
It's easy to save fifteen of more on car insurance
with Geico. Gotta Geico dot com. Oh call eight nine
four seven auto. The only hard part figuring out which
way is easier, and of course going your way in
about ten minutes or less. But the story right now
(01:49:23):
be if I may talked about it early on the
SEC at fifteen first round picks, and the success is
being used against SEC teams, so says Georgia coach Kirby
Smart SEC as the highest level of college football. NFL
knows it, and now I guess there are coaches in
and around college football using it to recruit against the SEC,
(01:49:45):
which is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of.
Because every kid in the world who knows football plays
football on the high school level, wants to probably play.
I would think at the highest level he possibly can
get exposure if he can on the biggest stage and
go to the next level after that. I just don't see.
I don't hear the sales pitch from other conferences, right like, hey, kid,
(01:50:11):
you're gonna get a chance to play. Is that what
Kirby Smart is saying? Compared to if I'm a kid
and I'm a four or five star recruit and I
see fifteen first round picks of the first thirty two
from the SEC, A lot of these kids are gonna think, well,
I want to make it to the NFL. If I've
got a better shot to get there, then hey, the
(01:50:33):
SEC might be for me. I think this helps the
SEC more than works against it, right. I think if
the kid has the opportunity to go to SEC or
a lower or not a Power of five conference, or
maybe one of the other four conferences in the power
of five, except maybe the Big Ten. You're gonna go
to the SEC. You want to play against the best.
You want to be exposed like that. I I don't know.
(01:50:55):
I just don't understand. First of all, I think it
was foolish for Kirby Smart to even go public with is.
I don't think it was such a great statement on
his part. I think kids know, don't you think kids know?
At this point in time. As a high school player,
you know, a if you're good enough to play at
the SEC and be if you are so you want
to go there? Well yeah, I mean, look, it's it's
(01:51:17):
not a mystery. Why take that and look at Alabama
or Clemson or any one of these teams that have
a lot of talent. It's not like all of a
sudden that talent drops off the face of the earth,
right there. Kids that college basketball, they go to Duke,
they go to Kentucky, like those schools just reload in
terms of talent. So it's the same concept as it
(01:51:38):
relates to the SEC. Like, these kids want to make
it to the NFL most of the time, and they're
gonna ask themselves what's the best path of doing so?
And if you see a ton of kids go from
the SEC to the NFL, I don't see how you're
gonna have more kids say well, I don't want to
go to the SEC. Can't do that. I just I
(01:51:58):
don't understand what Kirby smart is going for here. Well, basically,
here's the bottom line. I think kids want to play
in the biggest games. Kids want to play in the
biggest place places. Kids want to do what they want
to aspire to do. Now, another coach, another conference is
gonna say, hey, you know what, kid, instead of going
to Georgia, instead of going to Alabama, might be an
easier way to come over here, play for me and
(01:52:19):
go this way. And and then Kirby smarting with challenging that.
First of all, I don't think any coach could possibly
talk a kid out of going to Alabama and instead
of Alabama go to Wyoming. And I'm not downgrading Wyoming
or or East Carolina or anybody like that, but it's
a vast difference, and it's a it's a different kind
(01:52:40):
of athlete that goes there. The kid from Wyoming, given
the chance, would love to play for Alabama. I think
maybe I'm wrong, Well maybe it's better to be a
big star and in a little bowl like like Wyoming
and be a possible big time player there than a
smallert star behind someone else in Alabama. I don't know,
(01:53:00):
never been in that position. It's just case by case, man,
That's really all I can say. I find this to
be interesting. I just want to shift gears on you here,
Andy Furman. We've been talking about Jamis Winston and how
he's on the verge of signing a one year deal
with the Saints. Ian Rappaport tweeted out that it's worth
noting that Winston has turned down more lucrative offers elsewhere,
(01:53:22):
or at least one more lucrative lucrative offer elsewhere. I
think what's interesting, Andy, is when you go to the
backup realm, you gotta be really strategic how you go
about that where This is very much the Teddy Bridgewater way.
Teddy Bridgewater last year was offered a starting job by
(01:53:43):
the Miami Dolphins, but they were completely in rebuild mode,
and Teddy Bridgewater said, no, no, I don't think that's
best for me. I'm gonna back up Breeze and stay
with the Saints. And he got his opportunity to start
five games, made the most of it, and that led
to a huge pay day with the Panthers averaging twenty
(01:54:03):
one million dollars per year. So Jamis Winston, I think
he's looking at it over the long term. This lucrative offer.
It might have come from a bottom feeder type team.
And if you go there and you struggle, now all
of a sudden, your opportunities get worse and worse going forward.
So I think you rebuild your image a little bit,
maybe get on the field, maybe Breeze is banged up again,
(01:54:26):
and then you're in line to take over for Breeze,
or if you're able to shine and you get an
opportunity elsewhere, I think that's a better long term play
than playing for a bottom feeding team. Right. Excellent point
because if Bridge would have went to Miami, he would
have been a bridge for this year's draft, and we
saw what happened with to and the same situation right
now for Tyrod Taylor, if you will in l A
because he's a bridge for Justin Herbert. Now he may
(01:54:48):
start the first several games. I don't know what's gonna happen.
It depends upon training camps and and things like that.
But Tyrod Taylor is nothing more than a bridge right
now for Justin Herbert and Tyrod Taylor not a a
quarterback of functional quarterback, but not a frontline starting quarterback
in the NFL. Yeah, I think for Jamis, this makes
a lot of sense to go to New Orleans instead
(01:55:10):
of I don't know what team would have offered him
a deal, but if it's a team that doesn't have
a great situation, great supporting cast, and he struggles even more,
that's really damaging for his future. Now, all of a sudden,
you're you're in clear backup mode or you're in okay,
you're bridge guy, you're starting for a terrible team. That's
(01:55:31):
just you're in that realm going forward. So I think
he's taken a step back in twenty to hopefully take
a step forward going forward. You know one thing that
concerns me, I see Jamis wisten. When you have something
like thirty five turnovers last year, with thirty I n
t s. Where does that leave Andy Dorltan? How could
he not be wanted? That guy was old pro several years.
I mean, I don't get it. How could no one
(01:55:52):
want this guy? He's not a bit quarter. Well, hey man,
the season doesn't start tomorrow. For all we know, the
Patriots could be like, yeah, let's make something work. They'd
have to free up some cash and let's get Dalton
in here, who's got some starting experience. Instead it did
him who knows. All I know is the season doesn't
start tomorrow and deals can be made. Good. Point, there
we go. He's Brian noahm Andy ferman this is Fox
(01:56:13):
Sports Sunday. And of course the NFL drift was missing
one thing. We'll tell you what it was next. Don't
listening to Fox Sports Radio, going your own way, coming
right about twelve minutes before the top of the hour.
By the way, at the top of the hour, that'll
be nine o'clock on the East coast. Mike Harmon and
LaVar Arrington will join you. You get him on I
(01:56:35):
Heart Radio and the i Heeart Radio app on Sirius
XM channel eighty three, and of course on many of
these same Fox Sports Radio A. Phillies, this is Fox
Sports Sunday. He's Brian noahm Andy Fermanan. By the way,
we're probably brought to you by Geico. Do you own
a rent your home? Sure you do. Fortunately, Geico makes
it easy to bundle your home and auto insurance. It's
(01:56:55):
a good thing too, because having a home is hard work.
Got a Geico dot com, get a quote and see
how much you could save. Get go dot com. It's easy.
And now it's easy for this question to be rolling
off my lips because I'm gonna ask you this one,
my friend. What was the only thing missing from this
year's NFL draft? One thing? And there's a couple of things.
(01:57:15):
I know it was virtual, but what was the one
big thing that was missing outside of the obvious with
it being virtual? And you know the draftees on stage
and the bear hugs. You got it, Bingo, you're the best,
you know, the man the bingo was the handshake and
the hug, all right? And now with the coronavirus and
(01:57:40):
the distancing and things like that, we may never see
a handshake or a bear hug again. I mean the
certain things you would never see again, Like we may
never we may never see a salad bar in a
restaurant again. We may never see mind, it's not gonna
be around forever. Andy, We're gonna get hope. Well, I
think people gonna be so much leary of shaking hands again.
(01:58:02):
I'm just saying, so I'm gonna ask you this, what
could possibly replace the handshake or the hug? What do
you I mean, the elbow touched? What Next year in
Cleveland where they go one night is a strange place, Andy, really,
I I can imagine you just bits and pieces during
your day this comes to mind, and then you get busy,
(01:58:23):
you know, you make a sandwach or you've got stuff
to do, and then you circle back to you know,
what do you do? Is it elbow? Is it virtual
high five? I don't know. I don't think that's so
far during the day. But I don't think this is
so far fetched. At this thing as far as touching hands,
shaking hands with one another, I think that we may
not see that anymore. I've even heard the governor of Ohio, Mr.
(01:58:45):
Dwine says similar things, that we may we may not
shake hands any longer. We may not do and I
hope you're right. But next year in Cleveland, should they
disagree with disagree with one another? But should they say
no more handshaking? What do they do when they woke
up to see Roger Goodell? Which I hope happens I
(01:59:06):
hope to have it in Cleveland next year. I do y.
I guess you have to wait and see. Andy. I
don't know what to tell you. I'm not sure. I
don't have the answer where it's gonna be a virtual
high five. All I know is this this pandemic. It's
scary right now. There are people's lives that are being affected.
People are sick, some people have died. That's horrible. Like
(01:59:28):
economically it's had a huge impact. Your job status had
big impact. Yeah, it's terrible, but like we're gonna get
past it. Man like to think that this is the
new normal permanently. I could not disagree with that more.
This is just not the way it's gonna be, say,
in the year seven. It's like that we don't shake hands.
It all started with COVID nineteen. I don't believe that
(01:59:51):
for a second. This is one time I could hope
that I am so wrong, that I'm crazy wrong. Because
as far as Julian Edelman quarterback in who cares. I mean,
maybe it's stupid, maybe it's fetch maybe it'll happen. I
don't care. But this is one thing I hope I
am certainly wrong on. All right, let's do going your
own way, and you could take it first this time.
How's that I've deferred to you, Andy Ferman, because I
(02:00:13):
have lots to get to I want to cut Okay,
your time, so you go ahead, you tell you guys.
I'm gonna do it quickly. Okay. About Camille Kosteck. She
may be going to Tampa Bay with her boyfriend Rob Gronkowski,
but guess what her heart is forever with New England.
She's a former New England Patriot cheerleader and she's embracing
the next chapter of her life. And following the news
that her guy Gronkowski is traded and going to the Bucks,
(02:00:36):
a fan aster on Twitter if his her allegiance were
remade with the Patriots, and she says, quote as a
New England girl and a former Patriots cheerleader, Pat's nation
will always have my heart. How do you like that? Okay? Alright, well,
very nice like that? Okay, So I have a few
for you, Andy Ferman. First off, we got the last
dance prop bets. Okay, we're getting back to this the bulls.
(02:01:00):
I want some help from you, will Michael Jordan's cry
during the docuseriies yes, or no, they're both at minus one,
which yes, he will cry. I go no, like it.
Here's the thing. If it's old footage, that's different. We're
talking about the interview footage. Does something when he was
(02:01:22):
shrinking his own liquor and during the old footage saying
he never used to drink? Right, how's that deal? Okay,
the new footage, he won't cry. The old footage yes,
well yeah, like we all know, after the ninety six
finals they beat the Sonics, he's crying, yes, okay, one
more will gambling be said? Yes? His minus two hundred, No,
(02:01:43):
it's plus one fifty. Where do you better say? No,
it's gotta be man, it was a big part of it, right,
I'm taking the favorite on that it was. It was
a big plenty of it. However, I would say that
maybe he said that prior to the show, Like that's
out of bounds. Yeah, maybe, Okay. I got a couple
of fun facts with the draftees. So you've got Antonio
(02:02:03):
Gandy Golden. He's a wide receiver. Out of Liberty. He
picked up bowling, and after two months he bowled a
perfect game. I call shenanigansany Ferman two months and you
roll a three hundred. That's crazy. How about this one?
Kansas offensive lineman Hakim identity. He was at Kansas for
the last three years. He was going to try to
be in the Air Force. They said he couldn't enlist
(02:02:25):
because of a cash you allergy. So he goes to Kansas.
Now he's in the NFL. How about that? I love
it sounds great. By the way, our time is up,
Thank you for yours. We'll see you next week. Stay safe.
Right here, Fox, you're listening to Fox Sports. Ra
