Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. It's the cost of business.
We'll tell you all about it. And a minute. It's
that time. Wake up, Good morning everybody. It is Fox
Sports Sunday and Fox Sports Radio. Come on, let's get
it going. It is that time. If you're coming in,
you're just getting up. No big whoop. We're here to
please entertain an informer. Now it's my pleasure to introduce

(00:25):
the one and only, my friend, my partner, the brains
of the effort, the guy who carries the heavy load here. Yes,
he makes it so easy for me, he really does.
He's Mr Brian. No, be, what's going on? Be? Look
at you? Did you have your coffee this morning? What happened?
Don't need don't need that crutch, don't need it? Yeah,

(00:45):
I mean naturally high. Are you ready for this down
of the Reds today? What is it that's got you
all worked up? Well? What is this Brian Finley saying?
The blue the ready the red? It was like sixty
three sixty whatever right there. Obliteration, I think that's the
right adjective. Laws. Wow, you know it doesn't make if
it's like twenty five games under five hundred, it's over

(01:07):
seasons over because I look for the next year, see
what happens. I don't know. You're happy now you've got
the league, m v P playing first space for your team.
Everything is one of the oldies yesterday. You know. It's
funny to talk about the Cardinal way, the Patriot way,
you know, and people laugh at the scoff at it. No,
it's true. It is the Cardinal way. They've gone postseason

(01:27):
like the last fifteen seasons, right, I mean, and the Reds,
I mean, if they get the five hundred, it's it's
a miracle, it really is. Well, I know it's it's true.
But you know, I feel like our audience is already
starting to trail off if we're you know, we're hitting
them with cards. Yeah, let's move away, let's go. You know.
I want to share something with you, uh, courtesy of

(01:49):
the New York Post. It's the Moron of the Week.
And you're gonna say, well, what do you want to
talk about that for? I checked that every week to
make sure my name's I nd it all right, That's
why I read that the Moron of the Week, And
this week it's the running back of the Green Bay Packers.
A J. Dillon. As you know, he's a two pound
running back. Basically, he's like a battering ran this guy.
And last week he was the guest attraction at a

(02:10):
minor league baseball game hosted by Wisconsin's Kenosha Kingfish. Okay,
he was supposed to line up against the Kingfish mascot.
This mascot is like a hundred fifty pound, dripping wet
college student. The kid's name is Trey Meyer. Gets paid
like he puts himself into an elvis the mascot suit,
and they can't even see so at the snap, Dylan

(02:30):
was supposed to watch play football with the mascot, have
some kind of gentle phone with him. Instead, Dylan blasted him.
He nailed Meyer with all he had. The mascot's body
flew backward, he went into the ground as his elvis
head flew off. Maya rose shaking and he was bruised,
and Dylan was looking enough to have been charged with

(02:51):
premeditated assault. What's the deal with that? I mean, come on, really,
you get worked up about things. You're you're beautiful, Andy Firman.
Let's just start with that, okay, I mean goodness, Like, okay,
A J. Dillon if you say, play football to a J. Dillon,
you might want to be more specific than that. You know,

(03:11):
you might want to be a little more specific because
he might run you over, even if you have it
to be a mascot who's a hundred and fifty pounds, like,
that's what he might do and that's exactly what he did.
So h yeah, I think you need to be a
little bit more specific with let's take it easy. This
isn't you know, an actual Oklahoma drill. You know, in
essence it is, but it's that really we're not trying

(03:34):
to go at game speed over here. So I I
blame them. I blame the minor league team. Got to
be more specific with a J. Dillon. Yeah, and maybe
they should have taken like some sort of like maybe
a radio personality out there instead of a J. Dillon.
I don't think have many differences as far as you know,
bringing attendants in. Perhaps maybe it would have. I don't know,
but you know, a radio personality like sort of a

(03:57):
whimpish kind of guy like like myself. Maybe really, I
mean I wouldn't have hurt the kids. A matter of fact,
the kid probably would have hurt me. You know. The
funny thing. The kid reached out to his dad when
he got word that this Oklahoma drill against A. J.
Dillon was gonna happen, and his dad was like, you
got this Okay? Didn't work out like that? Yeah, not really.

(04:17):
I tell you what. Someone got. Kyler Murray got it.
He got the big check. He really did. The latest
quarterback in the NFL to get paid agrees to a
contract with the Arizona Carlin is going to be in
the desert for a while. Reported average annual value of
like forty six point one mill as the quarterback contracts
are rolling along right now, and honestly, you know, I
think it's like one upmanship. That's basically what it is,

(04:40):
because you know, Joe Burrow is waiting in the in
the wings, the other quarter of Lamar Jackson's waiting in
the wings, and it's just one of those things. But
you know, as well as I do, be like, you know,
you're nothing without a quarterback. And people gonna say, well,
is he worth that kind of money? Well, once it
was the alternative, what do you have besides him? You
want a franchise quarterback, and fully you put your stock

(05:01):
into this guy until you get to the promised land. Well,
I look at it. Where does extending uh Kyler Murray
and the terms that you just rattled off right there?
Does that take you out of the running to compete
for a super Bowl? And my answer is no, it
doesn't take you out of the running. You're in the running.

(05:22):
I think that we've gotten to a point. I compared
it to Alabama football, Andy is uh. If you think
about what Alabama has done with Nick Saban, and there
have been a lot of head coaches in that conference
that have lost their jobs because their success looks to
be much lesser than it actually is when you compare
it to Alabama, right, Like, follow me on this for

(05:42):
a second. Think about at Orgron won a title, got fired,
Gus Melson had a lot of success at Auburn got fired,
like Jeane Chizik want a title, got fired? Right Like,
you see a lot of this because Nick Saban and
Alabama just have such a stranglehold, so it hears that
achievements from l s U and Auburn and so forth

(06:03):
and so on are even less in comparison. I think
it's the same thing with quarterbacks in the NFL. When
we would look at Tom Brady and what he's been
able to accomplish. He makes other quarterbacks appear lesser than
what they actually are. I really do think there's an
element of that at play, and it's not just the
Brady thing. It's there's a tendency. If you look at

(06:25):
Kyler Murray, you typically look at the quarterbacks that are
better than him, But we don't do it the other
way around, where you don't look at the quarterbacks that
he's better than. And when you have a guy that's
right around a top ten quarterback, this is the going rate.
That's first off, And I don't think this takes you
out of the running to compete for a super Bowl.

(06:46):
I think extending Baker Mayfield with those same terms, I
think that does take you out of the running of
winning a super Bowl. So I could work both ways.
You can't be without a quarterback and you can't be
significantly over paying a quarterback that will never reach that
that top half of the league level. And I don't

(07:06):
think that's what the Arizona Cardinals have done. So I
don't have a problem with it at all. He's improved
every year. And if this doesn't take you out of
the running to compete for a super Bowl. You gotta
extend the guy. Well, I agree with everything you said,
but I think the one key right here is the
fact that you have to have a good quarterback to
lead you, no doubt about it. You can't when you
look at the teams that don't go to the playoffs,

(07:27):
they don't have a quarterback. But you have to have
that surrounding cast. You have to have the personnel. I
look at this Arizona team. Number one, the division there
is going to be murdered. It's like a suicide division
Number one. Number two, Well, it's it's it's you can
manage that thing, right. You got the Rams. Rams gonna
be tough, but the Niners, that's got a good roster.
But what is Trey Lance gonna do this first year

(07:50):
as the starting quarterbacks? Seattle is gonna stink like. So
there's a lot more manageable than it's been for a
while if you look at it from Arizona's perspective. Well,
and the questions on the Arizona started a bill is
the fact that can Kyla Maury stay healthy? You know
we know that that he's been injury prone. Number two,
the running back situation, are you gonna rely on James Conner.
Is he your guy? I don't know. Then you got
the DeAndre Hopkins suspension. So I think there's a lot

(08:12):
of things going against them as far as them being
real competitive. Well, I hear you. It's funny because if
you look at Vegas, their win total is uh eight
and a half and people are running to the betting
window to bet the under, and I'm like, man, do
you see Arizona being a sub five hundred team? I mean,
crazier things have happened. It wouldn't be shocking. But I

(08:34):
just think that a lot of people are more down.
I don't know it's the property English, but more down
on the Cardinals than they should be. I think it
has a lot to do with what they last saw.
They faded down the stretch last season. They got worked
in their playoff game, the wild card game against the
rams Kyler Merlin only only had a hundred and thirty

(08:55):
seven yards passing, no touchdowns, two picks. It was a disaster,
and I think that a lot of people that's what's
freshest in their memory and they're thinking, oh gosh, they're
they're not gonna get to nine wins. Did that get
to nine and eight. That might not even get you
in the playoffs even in the NFC. I just don't
see it being that bad for Arizona. But hey, time

(09:17):
will tell, man, we'll see what happens. I'm with you
right there. Unless let's circle in here and zero win
on Kyler Murray, I would predict right now prior to
the season, this guy's gonna passed the four thousand yards
or more and I think he's gonna throw at least
thirty eight to forty touchdowns this year. That's a that's
a little high from me. Man Um. Yeah, I don't
have over and I haven't checked over and under. They

(09:39):
do that too for quarterbacks passing and touch it. I
haven't seen that. Oh, they do it in a big
time way. I think the absolutely the only through twenty
four touchdown passes last year and the only four and ten.
Like when you're talking about okay, he was hurt for
a couple of games, but if you just look at
the high end, you only have let's see three quarterbacks

(10:02):
in the NFL that got to thirty eight plus that's
Tom Brady, Matthew Stafford, Justin Herbert. Even the thirty seven club,
you had three quarterback get to thirty seven, I don't know,
the high thirties. With DeAndre Hopkins gone for the first
six games, I don't see that from Kyler Murray. Yeah,
and remember this, this is Kyler Murray who had a contract,
who scrubbed his Twitter account and was going ballistic publicly,

(10:26):
and now they ripped it up and they kind of
said okay. And I think the reason being perhaps remember one,
he's needed number two. I think Cliff Kingsbury, that's his guy.
And now they're on there in sync. Their contracts basically
a side by side, so at least they'll beat together,
working together. I think it's going to help Kyler Murray.
But let's go back to Lamar Jackson for a second,
because she don't hear much out of his camp because

(10:47):
I guess Felicia Jones mom is the one that's doing
the negotiations for him, and she's not talking to the media.
But I will tell you this much. With Lamar Jackson's
NFL m v P and two playoffs appearances, I know
you want Go one winning the playoffs. I think that
he's on par to get a match at least what
he's got at least. Yeah, I think he'll he'll get

(11:07):
at least what Kyler Murray just got. Um. But yeah,
he's stunk it up in the playoffs and he had
a down year. This is not the greatest time for
Lamar to be trying to negotiate a huge deal because
he had a down year. Right, you want to come
off a stud year and a good playoff run, and
that didn't happen last season. So they've made it to

(11:28):
the playoffs three separate years with Lamar and he's underperformed
right there. One in three in the playoffs. One of
the most disappointing was when they were fourteen and two.
They were the one seed and they got worked by
the Tennessee Titans at home. So, yeah, he's left a
lot to be desired. But look, he's still a former
league MVP, got a lot of talent. They're gonna lock

(11:50):
him up. I mean, that's just the way it goes. Man.
We gotta get out of this mindset of well, why
why would you pay this quarterback? He hasn't looked perfect.
It's like, well, he gives you a chance to win,
and even though it hasn't happened in the playoffs, doesn't
mean it can't happen going forward, right, It's not like
everybody has a pristine playoff record. Justin Herbert, We love

(12:13):
that guy. He hasn't even gotten to the playoffs yet.
So it doesn't have to be a perfect resume in
the playoffs to pay a quarterback who has been productive individually.
And I always say, what's the alternative? I mean, really,
are you gonna go in Arizona with Colt McCoy. I
mean you can't. I mean, now you would just you'd
tear it down, you go back in the draft and
search for a guy that way, and that's a crap shoot. Ye,

(12:34):
at least you know what you have with Colin Murray.
And you look at that contract five years, two mill
uh first big quarterback deal really sister Shaun Watson who
got two into thirty mills, but his deal was fully
guaranteed and Murray's is not fully guaranteed, which means he's
still not gonna miss any meals going down the road,
but still not a fully guaranteed contract, which I'm sure

(12:54):
ownership around the NFL it's pretty happy about that. They
don't want to see these fully guaranteed d was going around. Well, yeah, absolutely,
and it's funny because Kyler Murray's deal was two hundred
thirty point five million dollars point five more than Deshaun Watson's.
But like you said, Watson's to thirty was fully guaranteed,

(13:15):
and Kyler Murray has won sixty. That's guaranteed. So you
can put you know, to thirty point five all you one.
If it's not fully guaranteed. The Cardinals are like, okay,
if that makes you feel good, Like I guess we
can do that. It's it technically one ups DeShawn Watson's deal,
but not really because it's all about the guaranteed money.

(13:36):
But you're right, it does help to reset the market.
And we know that Kyler Murray is not on that
same level that we've seen so far of Joe Burrow
justin Herbert. So we're gonna see those deals next year.
Be interesting to see what Burrow and Herbert get. But
I still I maintain that the Deshaun Watson deal that

(13:57):
was the outlier, that is not the norm. Even Burrow
and Herbert, who are outstanding, I don't think they get
to thirty plus guaranteed. I just don't see that happening.
They're not gonna have a fully guaranteed contract. There's a
bidding war with DeShawn Watson. There are multiple teams in
on the sweepstakes of Deshaun Watson. It's just Lamar negotiating

(14:19):
with the Ravens, Burrow with the Bengals, Herbert with the Chargers.
It's not Herbert and five other teams that are trying
to get his services. So it changes the math on
that right. And the funny thing is that the Cinnati
Bengals for so long have had no naming rights for
their stadiums, always pul Brown Stadium, and now this week
they made an announcement this shopping around for naming rights

(14:39):
which would give you them additional funds. And maybe they
looked at Pittsburgh and so what happened in Pittsburgh, But
really you look at the Soldier Field and Cincinnati unnamed,
and then since maybe even Green Bay Lambo. But the
point doesn't matter. There's no naming rights and that's gonna
be additional moneys. And maybe they're looking forward to those
moneys to to help defray the cost of Joe Burrows
contract the year when he's up for negotiation. Yeah, it'll help.

(15:03):
They'll get a few sheckles that way. How about Skyline Chili?
How many? How much money do they have? I look sponsor,
I don't think they have that kind of money. But uh,
I would say a bank. I'm looking perhaps a bank,
but we'll see what happens. I'm not certain. It's not
my business that you go to how I love that pocket?
Oh yeah? And every time this score touched down, light

(15:25):
one up and have a puff of smoke coming out there?

you what we got big news today. We better being
our best behavior because our to produce a Tab by strip.
Tab's mom and Tab's brother are listening in Nebraska in
some smart villa in Nebraska right now, which I had
no idea they even had radio in Nebraska? What they do?

(17:13):
Are we talking all black shirts over here? Are they Huskers? Fans. Nice, Okay,
what are we expecting wins wise this year? Tab? What
are we thinking here for the Huskers? Well, I will
tell you right now. Scott Frost, he's gone, he's done,
d O and E done. At most. We're gonna have
four wins too, oh gosh. Now, but yeah, four wins

(17:34):
at most for the Nebraska Cornhuskers this year full of
the shame that once proud program. I mean really, it's
I used to love when they played Oklahoma and the
Thanksgiving and that weekend. It was great when they were
in the same conference. Now Nebraska is in a college
football Isn't it true? It's awful, it's sad, it's terra's terrible.
It's by gone era of a Stonehenge team. That's how

(17:56):
I think of it. Don't belong in the Big Ten,
go away? Yeah, you're right. He should be in the
American Athletic Conference. That's real. They should be. It's terrible
true right now, but uh yeah it was. Man, I
think of that, think of the outstanding seasons, how many
they've they've had, And I'm saying I can guarantee you

(18:18):
four wins. I got four wins for you right now.
I can't guarantee much else. They had a bunch of
one possession losses last year, so every now and then
it swings back the other way. But no, I'm not
expecting huge things from the Huskers. They're not wins. They're
not wins. We can lose by three every game and
that doesn't mean we win. You know, quick question the downfall?

(18:39):
What was? What was the problem is that kids don't
want to go to Nebraska disticle to recruit there. I
don't understand the problem. Can you, maybe in a nutshell
tell me what the problem has been or just coaching perhaps, Well,
I'll tell you right now. When we got rid of
bow Planey back in two thousand eight, that was the
downfall of Nebraska and he had a good year when Yeah,
he had nine wins, nine freaking wins. I think he

(19:01):
went to Youngstown State after that, he did, I think
he did. Yeah, he did a decent job. That was
surprising when they got rid of him. But we'll see
what I wish you, well, I wish the corners Bill
Callahan years to usher in like the modern offense and
not a smooth transition. Yeah, well I didn't work. I'll
tell you what's not a smooth transition right now, and

(19:22):
this is going to be a smooth transition, really, Deshaun
Watson the decision right now? I said, what's taking so long?
And obviously Sue L. Robinson, the retired judge who's making
that decision. The longer it takes for her to decide
on this potential Watson suspension, whatever it may be, there's
gonna be more settlement talks between Watson and the NFL,
and that's gonna happen, and who knows what's gonna do.

(19:43):
And honestly, there's gonna be a threat of a lawsuit
perhaps by Watson should he get an unfavorable ruling, and
there are issues with that. And if you remember, Ezekiel
Ellie and Tom Brady both suit the NFL and they lost.
But that was during the old c B, a collective
woggooning deal, and this is gonna be a new one,
the new CBA, So maybe it's gonna be a lot

(20:04):
more difficult for to do that. But I want to
know what's taking so long. And it's not fair for
the Cleveland Browns to kind of swaying the wind as
to who their quarterback is gonna be and when well,
the first reaction I have to that is tough, you know, tough,
deal with it. This is what you signed up for.
They're not on your time. There on their time, and
they're trying to dot their eyes crossed across their teas

(20:27):
on this one. This is the most This isn't the
easiest decision to make in the world. So they're gonna
take their time on this. We're gonna get a ruling
any day now, I would imagine. Um, but they're on
their time. You know, they're not worried about oh the
Browns training camp. It's it's gonna begin. We gotta hustle
this up. Or they're not worried about that at all.
But we'll get something in time. And um. The other

(20:49):
part of this, what you mentioned, the threat of suing.
That was an interesting chess move by Deshaun Watson's representation because,
make no mistake about that was a clear message to
the NFL, do you really want to drag this out
even longer than it's been drug out right, it's do
you want this to go away? And I'm not saying

(21:12):
that the NFL and Sue L. Robinson they're gonna buckle
and be like, okay, fine, Uh six games, Right, they
just don't sue us. They're not gonna think like that,
but it is it's something to put in your mind
of if we make this an entire season, of course
there's gonna be an appeals process. They might try to
sue us. I think that's just talking tough. But it

(21:32):
is an interesting chess move because I'm sure the NFL
is thinking, oh gosh, that's the last thing we want
is for this to be even more public than it
already has been, Right, And don't you think that more
often than not, it's not so much the punishment factor
is the perception shown to the public what they do.
Whatever that punishment is going to be, being a full season,

(21:54):
being a half season, be it's six, eight, ten games,
whatever it may be, there's gonna be some pushback from
the public and the media. So they've got to be
very careful right now because they can't look at it
and they can't let people assume that they're in favor
of what he allegedly did. Right, Yeah, it's but this
is the thing, Andy, This also sets a precedent, so

(22:15):
you have to think of it along those lines as well.
Because let's just say, the NFL they suspend him for
an entire year. Well, the next situation that pops up,
there might not be twenty four lawsuits, might not be
the exact same thing, but it could be some significant allegations.
And if you have set the bar at a year suspension,

(22:35):
we're gonna think, Okay, so you're just giving this player
six games, that's barely a slap on the wrist. Even
eight games is gonna look like a slap on the
wrist in comparison, So I think you have to weigh
that as well. There's a lot to weigh in this thing.
There certainly is. But you know what the good news
in Cleveland right now, if you're a Browns fan, don't worry.
You got Josh Rosen there as a backup. Josh Rosen

(22:58):
gets a second life in Cleveland. Had you like that, well,
he's a camp arm right now, you know, Like I
immediately thought, hey, if Jacoby Brissette, you know, God forbid.
But if he gets hurt and maybe Josh Rosen gets
on the field, you got a lot of talent. It's
gonna be And I'm like, let me stop myself right now,
Like he's he's backing up Joshua Dobbs right now. I

(23:19):
doubt that Josh Rosen sees the field, but he's a
camp arm right now and he's on the roster amongst
amid the chaos of not knowing how long Deshaun Watson's
going to be suspended for. But how strange was it
on Friday watching reporter to the training camp in Baria, Ohio. Uh,
as far as practice is gonna concerned, he was there
with the team's rookies, so he said, the training facility,

(23:41):
How crazy is that he was there? Hey? Man, Like
he's not suspended yet, of course he's gonna be there.
It's nuts. I mean, you know, every everything is like
going as normal, and all of a sudden, maybe the
hammer will come down tomorrow. Who knows what day is
gonna come down. I gotta believe when practice officially starts
with Page I think for Cleveland Wednesday, they'll have a
decision prior to that. Well, we'll see. Again, they're on

(24:05):
their time, they're not on Cleveland's time. I think it's
it's very possible it could be this week. I'm gonna
guess it's this week. So they got to make a
decision at some point. Um, So we'll see, we'll see
if that's true or not. Are we taking wages as
to what we think the punishment's going to be? Have
we done that? I think I would not wager on
this one. That's just me. I just look, man, I

(24:28):
think it's between eight ten and a full season, and
my gut says it's not gonna be a full season.
I could be completely wrong on that, but I just don't.
I'm with you, it's not it's not gonna be a
full season. I don't think it will be on think
so yeah, No, And I said this yesterday. I was
on yesterday after you were. I said, eight games, he's
gonna play that Monday night game in Cincinnati Halloween night.
After eight games, it'll be that Monday night game Cleveland,

(24:51):
Cincinnati on National TV. Who'll play that game? By the way,
On a side note, I'm trying to get Nebraska to
five wins. I'm looking at their schedule. They've got North
to Oda, Georgia's Southern maybe win win. Yeah. I get
at least three big ten wins out of this the
schedule here, and it's not gonna happen. Yeah, you know
I would say this. I wouldn't be surprised if they

(25:12):
fired the coach before the season is over in mid season,
which is unusual in college, but I could see that happening.
M all right, Brian, no Andy from and get us
on Twitter at the no show at Andy from an
episod anybody from the breast. We'd love to hear from you.
Eight seven seven eight seven seven sixty nine. Now is

(25:33):
it too late for this conference? We'll talk about that next.
But first, to a man who is never late, never
late with the sports Brian family, Andy and Brian. First
of all, Andy, I'm surprised. Do you remember my name?
It's been a couple of weeks since I've been with
you guys, and I'm gonna well, I'm going, Daddy. I
am going to be in Kentucky the first week of August.

(25:57):
Speaking of wagering, Brian, we all get together for a
Ponderosa run. Well, this was what happened. This is what
I'm wondering, Brian, What are you wagering that Andy is
actually gonna come and visit me. I'll be in lex
I don't I wouldn't blame him after you blew him
off the last time. Yeah, you did, thank you. Well,
I wouldn't think it was more of a miscommunication. Yeah,

(26:17):
you can communicate. That's what I'm taking the blame. There
no doubt I will to remedy the situation. I will
be gone. I'll be out of town from the ninth
to the eleventh, twelve because I'm going to Iowa to
see the Reds play in the in the Are you
check that out? Yeah, I'm going so. I don't know
what days you'll be in Lexington if you're there prior

(26:39):
to the ninth of August. First, yeah, first to seven.
Email made the information. I'll come and see you. Okay,
let's do it. And I here's one incentive for you
to come. I will buy you lunch. No, I don't
want that because I'll never hear the end of it.
Please really, because you'll tell the world how cheap I was.
I didn't stick my hand in my pocket. I'll pay

(26:59):
my wait. I may even buy you launch, but I
don't want you buying me anything. Okay. You're gonna take
us to a fast food or restaurant just because, yeah,
but of course I will well, okay, or a buffet
or a buffet. Speaking of a buffet. When it comes
to offense, the Braves had that last night, guys, as
they beat the angel seven and two. Showyo Tani went

(27:20):
yard with that home run. Atlanta now has just a
half game out of first place in the NL East
to think about, considering that the Mets are nose diving
right now and they fell yesterday to the Padres two
to one. Man of Machado how to two run homer.
The Dodgers are on the up and up seven straight
wins for them as they take you to the Giants

(27:40):
forward to two. The Royals slay the Rays six to three,
Brady Singer pulling off a career high twelve strikeouts, Justin
Verlander coming in strong with his thirteenth win on the
mound that leads the Bigs this season. As the Astros
pile drive the Mariners three to one, the Orioles whip
up on the Key six to three in comeback fashion,

(28:01):
Garrett Cole blowing a three run lead as he suffers
his third l of the season. The Rockies took an
l to the forehead as the Brewers got past them
nine to four, and Milwaukee owning a half or a
game and a half lead in the NL Central over
Brian Knows Cardinals who absolutely took the reds to the

(28:22):
wood shed. Of that would be Brian or excuse me,
Andy Furman's reds to the wood shed a six to three. Finally, guys,
we do have some golf happening and it is going
into today the final round of the three M Open
PG Tour. Scott Piercy Israelider at minus eighteen owns a
four shadowy. There was some weather that caused a pause

(28:42):
in play on Saturday, but Piercy was able to finish
up his third round annual TUF for his final round
today at or excuse me, twelve thirty five Eastern in
the afternoon as part of the final group. With that,
let's get it back to Brian No and Anie Furman,
who knows as much about sports radio as he knows
about horse stalls, which is nothing. Really. You think your

(29:07):
wedding was at a horse stall, wasn't it. No, it
wasn't the winner's circle actually, but it was at the
race track in a barn. No, it was in the
winner circle of Latonia race Course. But it was like
a horse race track, Yes, it was. It was a track.
Did you did you dress up in a jockey uniform? No?
I wore a tux. It was a regular wedding performance.
It was good. I got a video if you wanted

(29:27):
to see it. Did a horse officiate your wedding? No?
We move on. Okay, I like you know, when I
see you in Lexington, I'll give you the whole story.
You'll you'll take a horse. You'll you'll ride your horse
to Lexington. I will stagecoach. There we go. Thank you.
Seeing an hour. By the way, he's way off based,
I'm not talking about Brian Finley. We'll explain that in
just about a minute. It's about maybe h thirty four

(29:48):
thirty five minutes past the hour. We got Bronx Talk
Radio coming up about six seven minutes, and we want
to talk about college realignment right now, and in particular
the a c C and their commissioner Ji Phillips. Wop
Based Lee was kind of on a podium the other
day talking about that we're not the professional ranks. This
is in the NFL of the NBA, and he talked
about that with too focused on football. Where in the

(30:11):
hell do you think the money is coming from, Jim,
It's coming from football. It's not coming from soccer or
traca field of swimming, I mean, this A c C
is like it's on one ft in the grave. I mean,
when you talk about football, they got three schools basically
two talk about right, Clemson, Miami and Florida State. Other
than that, what do they have in football? They're in
big way trouble. They really are the A C C.

(30:32):
What are they gonna do? How dare you overlook the
pitt Panthers and shout out, um, look man, it's they're
in a rough spot. And these remaining three Power five conferences,
I think you almost have to put it in air
quotes like Power five right where the A c C,

(30:55):
the Big twelve, the Pack twelve? Uh, book, man, it's you.
You gotta combine some of those conferences. We've heard some
discussions about, you know, the A C C the Pack twelve.
Maybe they merge that sort of thing. So it's a
game of musical chairs with these remaining three Power five conferences.
And I'm curious to say how it sorts itself out.

(31:17):
I think the elephant in the room is not your Dame.
And honestly, why would not your Dame join the A
C C. Of course they would, you know, they wouldn't
do that. It's the money isn't there like it is
in the Big Ten. You're gonna follow the money every time. Yeah.
Right by the way, asking you shall receive big head
from Knoxville. It wants to talk Nebraska football or Brian

(31:39):
from a Fox. But treating any how are you? Ed Man? Man?
I'm good at heyst time called Yama paying of you
ever since I got where I can hear you. I
love awesome man. Well that's nice to you. Thank you
very much. Yes, Mann talking about four or five ends

(32:00):
on the Baska. Yeah, they around a little bit here
at time for Scott Frost. They permit his program. Hey,
I'm a diehard Misikan fan. Ive made some blue, but
I'll tell you what I watched playing the basket games,
and they were getting better and better and better. They
are getting better. You know, I did a little bit
of research here ed our guy tab he says no

(32:21):
more than four wins. Do you know there's season win
total is at seven and a half. That's the betting
line seven and a half. Tab's got him at four wins. Yeah,
they open up I think Northwestern in Ireland they're going
to the dog north Worston. North Wastern ain't improgram? Yeah,
they're twelve and a half point favorites against Northwestern. That

(32:41):
surprised me. Yeah, I'll tell you what. Like I said, man,
I'm a doghard Michigan gramp. I love washing the buck.
I'm old school. I love when Nebraska ran gold Whisper
and when they you know, it's just I love the
basket book ball where the East of Corn fed Lineman
and all that. So I'm taking some what. Man, they're
gonna do something this year. I'm telling as far as

(33:02):
they will never go in a big game because they
will get and we out. That's they'll get a big
get it. Whoa whoa we get in week out? Really,
come on, man, it's top heavy. You got some good
teams at the top, but you're selling Notre Dame way

(33:24):
too short weekend weak out it. It doesn't have that
kind of depth. Come on, I will I will say
this as we roll along here. You talk about three wins.
They're gonna beat Northwest in the first game, They're beat
North Dakota their second game, they'll beat Georgia Southern. That's
three wins, and they'll probably beat either Indiana or Rutgiers
on their schedule. So I think there's a good chance
they could get to five Illinois, right, they got some

(33:46):
winnable games. They certainly tab listen. Nothing wrong with being
a fan, and I get it sometimes you're more critical
of your team because they've been down for a long time.
But I think it'd be better than four wins. Slightly.
We'll get him to five, I hope. So all right,
he's probably no. I'm Andy Ferman. This is Fox Sports Sunday,
Fox Sports Radio. Time to Gab. Yes it is, so

(34:07):
let's head north where Bronx Talk Radio. It's freaking next baby,
Bronx Talk Radio right around the corner. About twelve minutes
now before the top of the hour. This is Fox
Sports Sunday. He is Brian No on the Andy Fermin.
But right now let's go to the Bronx. Guys, it's
time to channel your inner New York. Here. We want

(34:30):
to hear all the rationalities you can spew on the
hottest topics of the day. Here's something we like to
call Bronx Talk Radio. Posted by the Great Crisp Fellas.
It's a wonderful freaking day in the Bronx. Whenever you
see the Red Sox get obliterated by a freaking football

(34:52):
score twenty eight to five by the Toronto Blue Jays
right there, touchdown, freaking city over there. I don't knew
what what the free what what happened over there? Like
I was watching that one guy was Jaron Duran. He
gives up the inside the park grandts like I never
seen the inside the park, grand slim, and he just
like looks up and he's like, what do you want
me to do over here? They should be in a

(35:14):
bus after that place. They should put him over his head.
He's like a contractor on my house, being like, what
do you want me to do over here? Dirty shingles
fell off? I don't care. Yeah, he's just sitting there like, hey,
how about you go get the freaking ball? How about
your show? A little bit of hustle you got for
verdugo over there throwing it in and and that stead

(35:34):
a field just sitting there like, wait on from me,
baseball should have been should have been cut that bait baseball.
The bleeding doesn't stop until you get those three outs. Buddy,
you better get hustling. Let me write that down. That's
really interesting. First interesting thing you give us said? What
you didn't know that about baseball and how many outs
are in baseball? Andy, I like the way you're saying it,

(35:54):
though completing doesn't stop. Yeah, you don't. You don't get it.
The beatings will continue until we roll freaking improves of
it here. Speaking of that and something up your alley,
apparently Andy is uh Pete Rose is going to make
his return to baseball. This is a disgrace, if you
ask me, on the field with the Philadelphia Phillies World

(36:16):
Series title team. But a problem with that, Why wouldn't
he Yeah, he's a cheating, he's a Crook's a crook,
Come on, please, CROs a liah and a crook and
a criminal. And he shouldn't even be on the freaking
baseball again. I don't care. How about you like Major
League later and hits? He didn't cheat on that? No,
he doesn't have the Major League leaue it hits they
destroyed that record boom, they didn't. I don't know if

(36:42):
this is a real stance by Chris or he's just
trying to troll you. Andy. I'm not the same thing here.
It's the national sport from me is busting balls and
you're doing a good job. Right. You got his sock
spot over here with Pete Road. He does and I
know exactly where to hit every time, right, Kidneys, he

(37:03):
definitely is a liar. You're right about that. I mean,
there's no doubt about that. Over there's a crook part too.
You gotta separate his baseball skill as everything else. Okay,
he's part. It was part of the nineteen eight championship team.
Put him on the field. Did he lie yes? Did
he say he didn't been on baseball? Yes? Did he
been on baseball yes? Alright, separate the two if you can. Bran,

(37:27):
is there an older radio sports talk radio subject than
Pete Rose anything? It's so, that's yeah, that's definitely the
top of the charts right there. Like maybe I'm thinking
about this, maybe they have Crooked Day. Maybe they have
al Capone out out there with with the effigy of
al Capone, and here comes Pete Rose. There were going

(37:48):
and high let his festival. Pete Rose, there we go.
Anybody who's been released from prison in the last three
years gets in free that day. That's right, that's right.
There's gotta be a minor league promotion over this. And
then with DeShawn Watson place in Cincinnati, on Halloween night
set give away towels that night, that old doubt over
there getting work done last more baseball thing real quick?

(38:10):
Uh No, no news on the Aaron Judge extension. Now
they're saying that probably not gonna get freaking done at
all in season? Are you guys panicking it all for
the Yankees? And though no, I think Aaron Judge, I
mean he's smacking his lips. I mean the longer they wait,
the moment he's gonna get Yeah, that's right, it's gonna
cost him. It's gonna cost him dearly before, it's gonna
cost him a bit more going forward. Yankees apusting with

(38:31):
themselves right now. And they already said, yeah, we're going
up to thirty two million, especially after he wins the
m v PEA Trophy. You're not gonna but you know
what that he won't now he won't, No, he won't
and he might be right on this when the more
I think, I think he deserves it. I mean I've
never seen a guy could do what he could do.

(38:52):
They said that Bruther's a last guy did something like
that pitch and hit, But then individual freaking award over here,
right insane? What Otani's doing. But a lot of people there, sheep.
They think it's like the Eisman Trophy. It's the best
player and the best team. Yankees are winning a bunch
of games. Yeah, they got a better team, too many advantages.
Aaron Judge plays in New York, plays on a team

(39:13):
gonna hit sixty home runs perhaps, and the team is
gonna win over a hundred games. Well, we gotta give
it up before we get out of here. Since we've
been talking about crooks and Pete Rose, we gotta give
it up for these guys here. Apparently two armed guards
let their Brinks big rig open. They just went and
grabbed a bite of something. Gang of thieves got a
twenty seven minute window to make a huge snatch. Total

(39:34):
value as a mystery between ten million and a hundred
freaking million. They bypassed the truck's locking mechanism, use storage
containers to halloway precious gems, gold, and other valuables from
Brinks tractor truck. Where was this head off of I
five in California? Wow, we need no Brinks drivers over here.
You can't just stopped and went into subway to get

(39:55):
a set off for a Blimpie's over here. It was
just set up. They knew the whole set up. Was
Dad in on this. Huh, this was an orchestrated hit.
It's like, hey, we're gonna go and get some eloo loco.
We just left it over here. I don't know what
to tell you. We came back. It's all gone. You know.

(40:16):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Fox Sports
Radio dot com and within the I Heart Radio app
search f s R to listen live. We're gonna tell
you why Nick Saban is so happy. That's right around
the corner. But right now it's time to say hello, Hello, everybody, welcome.
This is Fox Sports Sunday. I'm Andy Ferman. Now I'm

(40:39):
proud to introduce my partner and my friend. Yes, not
exactly in that order. Maybe it's the other way around,
my friend and my partner. His name is Brian. Hello, Hello,
b What's going on everything, Andy Ferman? Everything is going
on over here. We got lots work in NFL quarterbacks,
Nebraska's season win total, lots going on here this morning.

(41:01):
You know, I gotta say something to you, and I'll
make it very public. Right now that I really miss
those little Q and as he used to write for
this Barrett Radio newsletter online. Yeah, I don't haven't seen
you in there in a while. I used to really
enjoy this. I've been looking, I've been doing them. I
did uh to this month. Yeah, back to back weeks,
so a little bit a little back this month. Anybody

(41:22):
in particular, we we know well Stormy. She works over
there at Visa. She does some sideline reporting as well
college football. But uh, I did uh that Q and
A a week or two ago, and that was the
most recent one, so I talked to go back. I'll
go back and check it out. She took over for

(41:43):
Brent Musburger my Guy's in the Desert, that show on
Visa over there in Vegas. So she's doing a good job.
So she was nice to talk to you. Very nice person.
I actually random story. I accidentally texted her mom like
I got a number and I'm like, hey, Stormy, I'd
like to do an interview. And her mom was the
nicest person ever. She's like, oh, this is actually Stormy's

(42:04):
mom that I connected with Stormy and got it done
that way. But yeah, that was the most recent one.
And Howard Eskin over there in Philadelphia. I talked to him.
You know, I think I read that one. I think
I did read How It Eskin. That was a while back, though, no,
it was this month, a few weeks. Was okay, I
think I did. I did read Eskin. I enjoyed how
It Esk? And I really do Hilly for sure. That

(42:27):
was a lot of fun talking to him. Yeah, we go.
He's funny. You talk about sports talk radio. I think
the topics that basically go round and round and round
like a washing machine, player salaries and team attendance, and
I really I createe. I mean we talked about it. Attendance, Yeah,
I mean the team's not doing well. Uncle's only drew

(42:48):
two thousand to a game. That's a passing thought. We
don't dwell on teaming. There are topics, I mean not maybe,
I think in general a lot of sports talkers do
that behind the microphone, but certainly TAM salaries and one
of the big stories I thought, the leaks came out
this week, more than six months if the Kirby Smart
delivered Georgia football to its first national championship in forty

(43:09):
one years. The school finally announced the new long term
contract George is gonna pay Kirby ten point to five
mill in the first year of a new deal that
runs through one The contract makes him the highest paid
college football coach at a public university based on documents,
and these are compiled by USA Today's Sports amazingly. And

(43:31):
you know who's smacking his lips and really excited. Now,
I gotta believe Nick Saban, just like the quarterback Derby,
he's gonna go back to Alabama and he's gonna want
to top Kirby Smart. Well, listen, you got me thinking
about a new column over here, Andy Furman, because I'll
write once a month for that thing, the sports radio thing.
But I didn't think about it like this. When you're

(43:53):
talking about topics that really have legs, I think it's
a bit like Vegas. Follow me on this one. So Vegas,
what they try to do with the betting line. They
try to get even money on both sides, so they're
guaranteed to win because of the the viig right like that,
they're just taxing you. So if you have even money
on both sides, you're guaranteed to win. I think in

(44:14):
sports radio, when you get a topic that really has legs,
you've got even opinions on both sides, and that drives
a conversation. If we see something the same way, that
doesn't drive a conversation at all. So when we have
these conversations linger the reason that Baker Mayfield keeps lingering
is that some people think he's actually better than he

(44:35):
is and they're like, oh, well, look at all the
winds he had with the Browns and by bya Bay,
and it keeps the conversation going, right. So it's really
split opinions on both sides that take live golf right,
Like there are split opinions about that golf league and
some of the golfers leaving p g A. Charles Barkley
will talk about him a little bit later in the

(44:56):
show if he's gonna join that tour as a broadcaster.
So I never really thought about it like that. The
topics that really have legs, you've got opinions that are
strong on both sides. That's the recipe right there. But
isn't that true in general conversation? If you're sitting at
a pub with a couple of your buds and some
guys says, you know, uh, yeah, I think the Yankee

(45:16):
is gonna win x amount against his And you said, yeah,
well that's not a conversation. You know, you have to
have account a point and account the point. That's basically
we have to do. And I think right now there
are certain conversation, certain topics that will give you that.
And uh, I think this situation now with the with
the money salary situation with Kirby Smart, but more than that,
I think Kirby Smart at the SEC media days this week,

(45:39):
he had a bid to do and a grandstanding if
you will, about this, Uh, giving the moneys to the kids,
the name, image and likeness. He says, quote, I'm gonna
quote it for a second. You give a young man
like eight thousand a month or six mouths of the month,
you could say, hey, he deserves that. Well, he might
deserve it if he earns it, if he goes out
there and plays. This is what he said. I'm off

(45:59):
a take and care of the guys that have been
part of the program and start and play. It's just
that it's a reverse system right now, with a bottom
coming in and getting rewarded more than the top going out.
And that makes it really tough. Well, the top going out,
I mean they came in maybe a little too late
for the n I L program. Well, it's just a
timing deal. I understand what you're saying right there, and
I understand what Kirby smartest saying where Um, it's all

(46:23):
about the new recruiting cycle where you're trying to dangle
the carrot and hey, be a bulldog, you'll get X amount.
If you already are a bulldog. Well, you're not guaranteed
to get that same amount. So we understand how it's going.
It's not gonna be perfect. It does create some problems,
not all good for colleges. Um, but you gotta deal

(46:43):
with it. I think it was Um, it was Jimbo
Fisher there at Texas A and M. He had a
comment this week where he was like, you just gotta
adapt or you're gonna get passed up. Right. You can
sit there and wind about the downside of it, or
you can just figure it out and adapt to it.
And I think that's the best way to go about it.
I certainly understand what Kirby is saying. But it's not

(47:04):
all bad either, right, Like George is getting some huge
recruits and some of that has helped through N I
L deals, So it isn't just all bad and create
some awkward moments where some of the veteran players aren't
getting what the recruits coming in or getting and it's
a little bit weird. I understand it's not perfect, but
it's not a disaster, especially at a program like Georgia.

(47:26):
They're the defending chaps for crying out loud. You know,
it really is. You know. I went back and I
kind of did some research with I don't normally to do,
but I did. Georgia get this had a total of
ninety five players who received at least some money for name,
image and likeness, according to their coach, Kirby Smart, and
he didn't want to focus on how much total money
is players earned, but the number of those who did

(47:47):
that's a lot. Ninety Five players had some sort of
chump change for name, image and likeness to play for
the University of Georgia football. That's and that's amazing to me.
It really is. Yeah, well, hey man, it's the new
day and age. There was a report earlier this week
where a booster club at Texas Tech not exactly on
the same level as Georgia, right, but a booster club

(48:10):
at Texas Tech they're gonna pay a hundred players dollars
apiece some walking in what it's community service, and they're
gonna show up and be ambassadors at events. So that's
the trade off right there. But look, man, if you're
getting broke off, you know, twenty five thousand dollars and

(48:31):
you might even be a walk on, you might not
even be a prominent player at all, and you're still
making that. That's just the day and age we're in.
And look, I think it's long overdue, so I don't
have a problem with it. But if you're getting broke
off at Texas Tech, best believe you're getting broken off
and getting some cash over there at Georgia that was
a number one team last season. Look, I've always believed

(48:53):
that the athletes, at least in the major revenue bearing
sports like football and basketball, women is basketball and obviously
football at major institutions, they're the show and basically they
bring the money into the school, they increase enrollment, they
sell merchandise, and basically they get him on TV and
the schools make tons of money, so they should get

(49:14):
and it's one of these deals. Anybody who pushes back
on that, they're not putting themselves in the same shoes.
Are you telling me I'm supposed to believe for a
second your argument is based on what I'm doing. We're
generating all this cash and I don't see a dime
and you would be fine with that. I don't believe
that no one in the right mind would be okay

(49:36):
with that. So I don't want to hear these arguments
of oh, they should be fine with just their scholarship.
That would not be your argument. If you're in the
same shoes and you're on the field and you're the
reason why all this money is being generated, no one
would think like that. Well, we mentioned this early on.
It's the only profession and in the world, basically certainly
in America where the workers don't get compensated for what

(49:58):
they do and they're bringing in all this money. So
is the bare minimum that should be allowed. But when
you bring it back to the SEC, here's what I
want to know, Andy, You've seen a couple of teams.
Auburn has had big success l s. You won a
national championship not that long ago. Are we gonna see
sustained success from the Georgia Bulldogs. That's where we're at now,

(50:21):
right where they closed the deal, and um, are we
gonna see more success going forward? Are we gonna see
them take down Alabama? Are we gonna see them win
the SEC? Being the title? Hunt win a couple of titles,
rattle off, you know, two in four years or three
and five, something like that. Right, Like, I want to

(50:42):
know if we can see sustained success from Georgia because
they answered the first part of this question, can you
end the drought, which is not winning a title for decades?
They answer that question loudly last year. Now, can you
have sustained success? That's the question for him going forward
one years for them to win the title. But they
were knocking on the door for several years. There's no

(51:03):
doubt about that. But I think the same question was asked.
I think when Auburn had a great season and when
Clemson basically tried very hard to kind of do that.
And it's tough, it really is tough. But I will
tell you this much right now, it's gonna be somewhat
maybe easier to get that success. And I'll tell you
y at the n C Double A, at the meetings,
I guess at the media days for the sec the
ANT Double A announced that Division one Council recommended get

(51:27):
this eliminating the restriction against players transferring multiple times. The
NT double A board of directors expected rubbist the recommendation
on the third of August, which is next week. That
means you could transfer two, three, four times. I mean,
it makes it somewhat ridiculous. I mean, it really does.
I'm totally four these guys getting paid. There's no doubt

(51:48):
about that. They're the show. People pay to see them play.
But you're making a force out of the educational system
to transfer three or four times. I mean you talked
about I mean, I don't know. I was in college.
I was thinking to transfer ring after my second semester
because of majors, and I said to myself, well, I'm
gonna lose a lot of credits and do that. I mean,
these kids, how do you? How do you do it?
Unless they're not concerned about getting a degree, they just

(52:10):
want to play football, knowing full well they're gonna leave
maybe as a football player after the third year. Look,
I get the argument that you shouldn't have to sit
out in the entire year. Even if you transfer a
second time a third time. That's just a little goofy
for me. You know, I'm totally for the first time
you do it, you don't have to sit out. But

(52:31):
I don't know, man, if it's just unlimited you could
play for four different schools in your four years, that
that's just odd to me without sitting out at all.
I get the argument, trust me, I do, but I
don't know that. I mean, maybe you get two times,
but unlimited, right like maybe that third time you gotta
sit out of years is that musical chairs. That's a

(52:52):
little bit too much movement for me without having to
sit out at all. That I don't know. I don't
buy that, uh thor only, but I certainly understand the argument.
It's probably gonna happen, Andy, I would imagine that's probably
what they're gonna do. Right. And it's funny because Nick
Saban did say something to the effect on the paraphrasing
this right now, looking for like a balance of power, Nick,

(53:13):
I mean, I don't know what you're drinking, what you're sniffing.
There's no such thing as that balance of power, because,
believe me, schools like Eastern Michigan and Toledo were not
on the same level of your as your school as Alabama.
There's no balance of power. There never was a balance
of power, and there never will be a balance of power.
I'd like to see what the football budget is at
at Miami of Ohio as opposed to Georgia. There's no
balance of power. It's just it's just the way it is. Sorry, Nick,

(53:36):
I mean, don't be telling me stories that you would
love to see a balance of power of football. And
why would you Why would you want to see a
balance of power. You want to dominate, don't you. Yeah,
absolutely he does. That's just that's lip service right there.
You know he wants the rain on top, which is
what he should want. Yeah, I don't know why you
would want a head coach that says, you know what,

(53:57):
all the success we're having, we gotta spread the wealth.
He doesn't think like that for a second. But look, man,
we'll see in this n I L era, Notre Dame
has had a big recruiting class. Ohio State has had
a big recruiting class. And it's not like those guys
were in the sixties or the seventies in terms of
their ranking of recruiting class before n I L. But

(54:19):
in this new day and age of n I L.
You might see some schools that have been down the
list a little more start to get to the top.
And so I want to see over the next five
ten years what the ripple effect exactly looks like. And also,
Nick Saban, you're not gonna coach forever. He might have
another five ish years left to be on the sidelines.

(54:39):
And then where's the ripple effect whence Nick Saban is gone?
And the stranglehold might be lifted in terms of his
success in college football? So lot's gonna change in the
not too distant future. And would you like to see
different faces as far as college football teams? I think
I think the NT double A would double A basically

(54:59):
is is operation we look man. I always compare it
to the NFL, and he is imagined. If I think
about last season where the Bengals came out of freaking nowhere,
you will you haven't had anything remotely close in college
football for decades, Well you did Cincinnati University of Cincinnati basis,
they made it to the playoff and got worked. That's

(55:21):
not nowhere and being a whisker away from winning a championship,
but somewhere from the American Association American Conference, would even
go that far. They basically to me, came out of nowhere.
I mean the Yeah, I don't know. I don't think
it's that. I don't think it's nearly as crazy. The
point is this, it's typically the usual suspects in college football.

(55:42):
It's not the same way in the NFL. Where can
you say, like year in and year out, Oh, it's
it's Alabama, it's Clemson, it's Ohio State, and then it's
the other team. Right, can you say that in the NFL? No, No,
it's used to be Nebraska. Tampa used to be Nebraska's
and I used to be he used to be Tennessee.

(56:03):
Also Tennessee Nebraska are always there no more. I'll tell
you what, seven and a half wind total for Nebraska tab.
The way he's talking, he better be running to the
betting window to take the under on that. You know,
you go, thank you. We'll see what happens, all right,
we roll on right now, Hey comments, I think Eli
from Fresno is still on hold. We'll get to him momentarily,
maybe in the next seven we'll see what we'll do.

(56:24):
But right now we're gonna let you know that you
can get to Brian no on Twitter that's as close
as you'll get to Brian No at the No Show
and o E Show at Andy Ferman f s R.
Or better yet eight seven seven ninety nine Fox, you
can be like Eli from Fresno eight seven seven sixty
three sixty nine. We got bonton Barrow betting in this
hour and Brian No has his picks for you in

(56:47):
our final hour today. But quarterback is a big, big
question mark here. We'll tell you where next. This team
isn't a loone. We'll get to that in just about
a minute. About twenty four minutes past the hour. Fox
Sports Sunday is the show Fox Sports Ready was the place.
He's Brian No on Andy Ferman and we're talking about
quarterbacks in the NFL. But before we do, you always

(57:09):
come first, be our listeners always come first. Cole has
always come first. Eli has been on hold for a
long long time from freds No Eli, you know, with
Brian and Andy Ferman on Fox Post Radio. Hello, E,
what's up? What's going on? Guys? My favorite guys listened
to on the weekend. I appreciate you're having me on. Well,
thank you, that's nice to you. Um So I don't

(57:30):
appreciate you guys leaving out NC State though when it
comes to the a c C football talk, we're one
of the top schools in the a c C. You
talked about the dumpster fire that is Florida State, but
not NC State. That's that's yeah. Yeah, they're more Johnny
Come lately though. You would admit that they had a
good season last year. But it's not like they're a

(57:50):
powerhouse yet. I mean, our next, our next segment, well,
your next segment on the show is about quarterbacks in
the NFL. And two years ago we had five quarterbacks
start NFL game qbu who can't. Yeah, you just gotta
have more success year in and year out, you know.
And then had a good un list they were nine
and three. But I think that the brand when you
think of the s C a c C, you think

(58:12):
of NC State more of a basketball school of basketball
tradition and football tradition. That's all it is, right, he
is a bad basketball conference. By the way, when do you, dude,
know the quarterbacks off the top of your head. I'm
just curious what this list looks like. Ryan Finley, Mike Glennon,
Jacobe Bersett, Russell Wilson, Philip Rivers, come on, man, like

(58:33):
Philip Rivers. You know, Philip Rivers retired and like three
quarters of those dudes are clipboard clipboard home fest. Yeah
that's oh yeah, no, for sure, but I was saying
they started games a couple of years. Are state grad You?
Are you a graduate of NC State? I did? I
graduated from NC State, But I'm I'm in Fresno, California now.

(58:55):
And let pride, let of pride in your school, which
is great. Keep on sending those checks, keeps us in
those checks at the alumni all r Let's move along.
Philip Philip from Alabama on Fox Sports ready with Brian
noan Andy firm. And how you doing, Phil? I'm doing good?
Uh a lot listening to y'all guys. Well good, thanks?

(59:16):
What's up? Well? I was gonna talk in our bals.
I agree with y'all know the players getting plaid, but
I just don't agree with their metamory. I think everybody,
our players should be played the sign. Do you get
your money when you go through? It doesn't work like that.

(59:37):
Do you think all pro players? Do you think all
pro players should be paid the same? No? Then why
would it work? Yeah? Well, i know, i'll the pro players,
I mean, you get packed the opposition. But college balls.
I mean, you don't stick all that money out in

(59:58):
front of the player in college because I might not. No, man,
if you draft enough player in the NFL, he may
not turn out to be the guy you think he's
gonna be. I mean, look a look at the quarterback
of the Giant's Daniel Jones high draft pick. Right, what
has he done? Hasn't done anything. It's it's a gamble.
It certainly is a gamble in n I l If

(01:00:19):
you're a businessman putting money up to have a guy
promote your business or your car dealership, whatever it may be,
it's a gamble. Hey the kid get busted for drugs,
it's a gamble, right, b Right? Well yeah, but look, man,
if if you're a five star, if you're a four
star recruit, you're a big shot player, and you've got
a lot of teams vying for your services, that's gonna

(01:00:40):
drive the price tag up. Now you might get to
college football and be a complete dud. You might not
do anything. But no, this idea that everybody should get
the same that's no, that's it's not the way it works. Right,
especially in sport that you're in. I think that there
are high profile athletes quarterbacks of the probably can get
more money, basketball players to get more money, and perhaps

(01:01:00):
soccer players. I mean, just the way it is. I mean, uh,
that's life. Sorry, that's just the way it is, all right.
And speaking of quarterbacks, Uh, this team we're talking about
is not alone. Let's see the quarterback woes of various
teams Seattle, Gino Smith, Drew Luck. You gotta believe they're
doing a quandary for a quarterback right now, Gino Smith,
I think maybe the guy. He maybe the stunning quarter

(01:01:22):
But you don't think so. If you think it's Drew Luck,
I I don't know. I mean I think it's a
toss up. Really, it's a wolf either way. You know,
it's ugly. Really. Now, what do the Eagles do with
Jalen Hurts flops? There? There's a possibility over right back
to the draft. They got a lot of draft demo.
You know. That's the thing, Andy is we always talked

(01:01:42):
about two a tongue of voloa, and he's got a
good supporting cast. Offensively, got a lot to throw too, right,
and so we're gonna see if he sinks or swims
this season. It's the same thing with Jalen Hurts. Jalen
Hurts has a good supporting cast around him. When you've
got not only DeVante Smith, the former Heisman Trophy winner
had a good rookie season, trade for a J Brown,
Dallas Goddard, Miles Sanders can run the rock. You've got

(01:02:04):
a lot of around, very good offensive line, so he's
got more than enough. If he doesn't get it done
production wise individually this season, you gotta move off him.
There's a huge here for Jalen Hurts. What I'd like
to do with you permission. I want to continue this conversation,
but right now we've got to move along because he
goes viral again. It's not real pretty, and that's next.
But first to a man who really thinks of himself

(01:02:25):
as pretty, really, Brian, well, thank you for calling me pretty,
and as my father, you are handsome, so I guess
the good looks pass. Yeah, but when I think of jeans,
I just think of all of those genes that you
wear that have holes around the kneecaps and you flaunt
those around on your you know, steeple chase and all

(01:02:46):
that stuff. So let's get into some Major League baseball,
will we? How about the bread's they got be bad
by Brian Knows Cardinals six to three, Andy firm and
your red's lost and there's too many, too many games
blow five or to count how far back they are.
But we'll get to some of under. Okay, usually it's

(01:03:08):
six ft under. But the Braves of fend off the
angel seven and two. Shaohotani hits a home run. Atlanta
moves to within a half game of first in the
NL East, as the slumping Mets continuing to two nose
dive here as they lost to the Padres two to one.
Mani ma Chado had a two run home run. The

(01:03:28):
Dodgers at a seventh straight win after closedlining the Giants
for to two. Julio Urius six innings pitched nowhere and
runs five strikeouts for him as he picks up his
ninth one of the season for Los Angeles. A win
for the Royals, says they overcome the race six to three.
Brady Singer amassing a career high twelve strikeouts. Justin Verlander

(01:03:51):
now with a major league leading thirteen wins as he
clamps down on the Mariners batters with an Astro three
to one to win. The Orioles get past the Yankee
six to three, Garrett Cole Blue a three run lead.
We mentioned that the Reds lost, no surprise. The Brewers
also a top all the Rockies nine to four, and

(01:04:13):
Milwaukee still loans at half or a game and half lead.
Indiano Central over the Cardinals, and the Reds are well
well back, Jake All. And finally there is golf happening.
It's not the Live Tour, it's the p G E
two or three. I'm open from Minnesota and we've got
one round to play coming up later today. Scott Piercy

(01:04:35):
is solo first minus eighteen, a four shot lead. E
Carter the sixties six on Saturday, so he will tee
off as part of a three man final pairing today
at twelve thirty five Eastern. With that, let's get it
back to a man who's gonna try to convince me
to have lunch with him and Bob Evans, and he
better not do that. It's Brian Noh and Andy Furman,

(01:04:56):
thank you very much, and Ugly Combo will get to
that just about an end. But got binding barrel Benny
perhaps in about eight minutes from now. But I want
to finish this quote about situation with Brian know my
partner here and the question here is Carson Wentz an
upgrade over Taylor Heinekey. I would tell you right now
I think Ryan Fitzpatrick was better than Carson Wentz. Oh

(01:05:17):
come on now, like I don't understand the Wentz hatred, Like,
come on, man, like even go by last year? Okay, Like,
let's look at Taylor Heinecki versus Carson Wentz. You know,
like Carson Wentz, he faded down the stretch. There's no
doubt everybody remembers that last game against the Jaguars. But

(01:05:38):
Carson Wentz was thirteenth and passer rating last year. That's
not awful. He's right there, right right around. That's not
a horrible spot to be in. Derek Carr was underneath
Carson Wentz. Josh Allen, who we love with the Buffalo Bills,
he was under that mark by Carson Wentz. And you

(01:05:58):
go all scrolling, rolling, scrolling, scroll. Oh, there's Taylor Heineke
eighty five point nine in the NFL under big Ben Roethlisberger,
just barely ahead of Daniel Jones. There's your boy, Taylor Heineke,
like Okay went through for more, like Wentz did more

(01:06:19):
then Taylor Heinek. I just don't understand the like you
could say Carson Wentz left something to be desired last year, fine,
but to make him out to be not even an
upgrade over Heineke is freaking crazy, Like that's just of
course it's an upgrade, maybe not by leaps and bounds,
but it's definitely an upgrade, right. I think they'll do well.
I think they could be. They could surprise some people

(01:06:41):
Washington obviously Heineken uh twenty touchdowns, fifteen picks last year.
I think they'll do well, But I think the big
question not so much about Washing. I think the big
questions in Pittsburgh right now. They got the veteran Mason Rudolph.
They got Mitchell Trabiski or the rookie Kenny Pickett to
replace Big Ben Roethlisberg. And I think that right now
it looks like I think Picket's gonna be under set

(01:07:02):
there on opening day. Wow, who knows, man, Maybe I
won't rule it out. It's uh, it's a possibility, But
if I had to bet, I would bet on Trabinsky
to start off this season and then we'll see Kenny Pickett.
But hey, man, you might be right. It was a
different deal. Big Ben Roethlisberger started from the beginning. But

(01:07:24):
that was an injury thing with what was it, Tommy
Maddox back in the day. But um, it's happened before.
And if Kenny Pickett, I'll tell you what, that's an
organization they're bold. I will see. I can absolutely see
Mike Tomlins say, hey, if this kid's ready to roll,
let's roll, you know, let's get him in there. I
think in this day and age, I think drafting a

(01:07:44):
quarterback it's not like back in the day when a
guy would hold a clipboard for a year or two
like Aaron Rodgers did, be high bread far. That doesn't
happen any longer. I think that you draft a guy
you wanted to get in there if you can. Didn't
happen in San Francisco with Trey Lance, but I think
it's gonna happen in Pittsburgh. But there will be so
so of about I think be given a shot. I
think Picket gets the deal done. Well, we'll see, man,

(01:08:06):
I I don't know. I don't have a crystal ball
on that one. But um, you know, I'll say this,
Mitch Drabinsky hasn't exactly set the bar unreachably high with
what he's done. Um, could there be a bit of
a resurgence some people are expecting this. I think that
Mitch Drabinsky, Uh, he's a lot closer to Sam Donald.
You know. I think that you could look at Sam

(01:08:28):
and the lack of a supporting cast with the Jets.
Certainly it was better for Mitch with the Bears, but
it wasn't like the cupboard was stocked with great talent
all around. But I think that even if you surround
Sam with a better supporting cast and Carolina, he still stinks.
I think that's largely the case with Mitch Robinsky. Sure
he was the second overall pick and all of that is,

(01:08:49):
but he's just not consistent enough. I don't see him
ever being a true difference maker. So maybe he gets
his start to he gets his chance to start again,
and that could help to revel I have his career,
But I don't think that his days are long in Pittsburgh.
I think he's just keeping the seat worm. Even if
he does start week one, he's just keeping it warm
for Kenny Pickett. Do you believe that there are certain

(01:09:11):
quarterbacks born or destined to be backups? I do believe that.
I think that you're good, but you're not good enough,
and they'll get draft and they'll be in the NFL
to have a fine career in the sense that the
Ryan Fitzpatrick a journeyman for like eighteen years, made a
lot of money, but he never was a tough fly
quarterback always. I mean, how many teams did he play for?
Like nine? I mean, come on, I mean the guy

(01:09:33):
was a top fly backup, did the job and he
got in there, but never really made it to the top.
He's always kind of just almost there, almost there. Well, yeah,
there are a lot of quarterbacks like that in the NFL.
There are guys where you know, there are different categories.
Ryan Fitzpatrick, he was more than just a clipboard holder.
He was starting more times than not. When he was
moving from team to team to team, the team, the

(01:09:56):
team to team, the team. I don't know if I
got all of them in there, but look, there are
guys that I think of, Oh man, what Chase Daniel right,
think of Chase Daniel from Missouri where he's had a
backup gig almost the whole time he's been in the NFL,
and he's been around for a long time. So look,

(01:10:16):
there are worse gigs in the world than being a
clipboard holder. You might not be a starting caliber guy,
but you're the in case of emergency brake class guy.
You're making a lot of cash to have that role
as an NFL backups. Not the worst thing ever. I
want to lighten this up a little bit, talk about quarterbacks,
but it's funny because this guy I thought was ingenious

(01:10:37):
what he did, and maybe he really does do this.
Maybe it was just intentional. I don't know. But when
he was asked how they take their call fee, most
people think of cream and sugar. However, most people are
not Will levis from University of Kentucky at quarterback and
during the SEC Media Days at the College Football Hall
of Fame in Atlanta the other day, the Kentucky quarterbacks
shared that he sometimes adds mayonnaise to his coffee and

(01:11:01):
that got tremendous play, tremendous attention. It went viral, and again,
I don't know if he really does this. Perhaps he does,
but it's tremendous. It's it's a tremendous thing. That's horrible.
It's awful, No, tremendous that he did that because the
play that he got out of it. Yeah, so it's
an awful idea. It's horrible idea to even publicize it.

(01:11:23):
It's disgusting. I don't know what this kid's deal is. Man,
we'll have us. He's probably gonna be a first round
pick in next year's NFL draft. But yeah, he also,
you hear about this, he eats a banana with the
peel still on it. He just, you know, no need
to peel the banana and eat the good stuff inside.
He just takes the whole thing down. There are some

(01:11:44):
crazy food combinations out there. Uh. My wife is a
big TikTok person, has a lot of followers, and she
tells me when I read her this story that she
enjoys and she found this on TikTok mustard on watermelon. Oh,
that's just a hideous idea. I can't even look at it.
Is there anything on your resume anything you do hideously
in terms of your food preferences? There? And well, I

(01:12:08):
know a lot of people like ketchup on their hot dogs,
and I think that's disgusting. Like, why, that's exactly what
I do. It's deliciously Yes, that's good. I just don't
think it belongs there. I think it's like mustard. I
don't understand the argument at all. Yeah, it's delicious. First off,
I like catch up on French fries. Yeah, so why

(01:12:28):
would it be obnoxious on a hot dog? I don't know.
I don't think it belongs to I don't think it's
been promoted that way, you know. I think that for years,
companies like uh, the Goulden's mustard or whatever it may be, Frenches,
they always promote on TV the edge of their mustard
on a hot dog. You don't and you never really
had seen Hindes catch up much on hot dogs, always

(01:12:50):
on hamburgers. Is that correct? I think there's the way.
Mustard's terrible. Let's start there. Mustard's awful. Hate it um disgusting,
No thank you, get it away like done anything, nothing,
get it away, But like you throw catch up on
a burger? Right, Yeah, so why would it be just
crazy to put that on a hot time? And when
I got to McDonald's to get a burger, and McDonald's

(01:13:13):
a lot of times some McDonald's put mustard and ketchup
on the burger, put both without even if I yes
for you know whatever, and I get that catchup anything
anything else disgusting on your resume there, Andy, I've seen
people have to make the juice and beer on the
liquid and what about you? Anything disgusting is I'm pretty

(01:13:36):
plain man, pretty plain with my food choices. Some people
might think that's disgusting for it to be so plain,
but I can't think of anything that's completely I'll tell
it was disgusting when Patrick Mahomes put all that ketchup
on his steak. He got a big deal out of it,
but I thought that was disgusting. Remember that I don't
have anything that's close to mayonnaise in my coffee. That's

(01:13:57):
next level. That's putrid. It really is. I think it's
even worse than eating the peel of a banana. That's agree.
Those are both crazy man. Yes, he's Brian, No, I'm
Andy Furman. This is Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio.
The game that keeps on giving heartburn. That's what it gives.

(01:14:18):
It's bottom barrel betting, and it's freaking next. Fox Sports
Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation.
Catch all of our shows at Fox Sports Radio dot
com and within the I Heart Radio app. Search f
s R to listen live by the Barrel. Betting coming
right up about twelve minutes now before the top of
the hour. This is Fox Sports sunthing. He's Briban. No,

(01:14:40):
I'm Andy Ferman. Hey, we got a game to play.
Let's play. Bottom wanted to sleep people, get my money.
I'll put your brand to sleep. Betting. Yeah, we got
a game to play. And here's the Maan TB. And
it's not Tom Brady. Yes, that was not Tom Brady.
So I gotta tell you guys. You guys tied for
in one last week. So do we tie? We disagreed

(01:15:03):
on everything but one pick. No, you guys agreed on
everything but one pick. That's what I'm saying. So how
did we tie? It was form one? Do you guys? Uh?
Hold up here, I got my numbers wrong. What am
I doing? Hold up? Let me let me tell this up.
Give me three seconds. Brian, you're going first today. I'm sorry, Brian. No. Wait,
So the one we disagreed on what happened in that game?

(01:15:26):
That would be the Indian the India England game. Yeah,
so did I get it that right? Yes, you did
boom and that was a lucky guess, admitted No, no, no, no,
I will have no such thing there, and I do
my research. Do you think I just guess randomly? No?
My word, unreal, unreal. Let's move, let me let me

(01:15:50):
try again. Here we go. Next Saturday, United States women's
soccer team is taking on Nigeria and an international friendly
in Kansas City. Will the United States them in soccer
teams score over or under three and a half goals?
Mm hmm, that's a good one. Yeah, it's a seems high,
but they can do it. I'm gonna I'm gonna grip

(01:16:11):
my teeth and take the under on this one. White
Knucklet see, I'm gonna go the other way just because
you said the under that that's that's what I do. Sometimes.
I'm gonna go over four. Alright, Two awful teams are
going at today at one pm Pacific time, though Washington
Nationals are battling the Arizona Diamondbacks. Will the Diamondbacks have
over or under one and a half airs in today's game?

(01:16:33):
And on a side note, the temperature is gonna be
a hundred and two degrees at first pitch, and that's
what they'll have. Over one and a half errors, they'll
get so dizzy. And although I'll tell you the games
in Arizona, right, so they'll have the air conditioner on
and the roof closed. But I still said it'll be over.
I'm giving the under on this one. Two errors in
a Major League baseball game, that's high. I'll take the

(01:16:55):
under here. Alright, We're moving to cricket. Sri Lanka is
taking on a young and promising Pakistani team ready to
show the world that they're back. Will the Pakistani team
bowl over or under one wicket in today's match? Um? Wow? Yeah,
you gotta go over with Pakistan here, you know? Yeah? Really?

(01:17:19):
First of all, don't help him out. He's not helping
me out to you agree? Already put the pick in? Yeah,
you put it in. I'm going on, how do you
like that? Taking the under? It's tough to come by.
I need to ask, is this void if Sri Lanka
can't feel the team because their country is currently in
just complete uprising? Good point? NA say they feel the

(01:17:45):
team though, Okay, I love it. And and if there's
if there's no team, there's no game, and that could
save me, Chris, thank you. Alright. One of the most
anticipated pickaball tournaments is starting and finishing today. Beer Open
is being held at Grand Rapids, Michigan. Well, the men's
doubles team champion team? Will they be from east or

(01:18:08):
west of the Mississippi River? Andy, Your time to shine, buddy, Uh,
it depends upon it. The domestic or imported beer I'd
like to know. Give me some more details and the
Beer Open. I honestly I have no idea. Okay, I'm
gonna go. I'm gonna go with the East as the
guys from the East Coast can chuck it pretty good.

(01:18:29):
I'm going with the East guys. I'm an Eastern guy.
I'm going with the very good microbrew place in uh
in Grand Rapids, not even microbrew Founders I found, Oh yes,
with that green can right, I love Founders. Yeah, I'm
gonna take the East Coast on this as well to
East Coast all right. Annual Sarpee County Fair, Nebraska's team

(01:18:52):
off next Friday for a fun weekend including high school
rodeo Championship, the Lucas Oil Polling Contest, and much more.
But the man An event is a state championship for
mutton busting, which is an event like in rodeo. It's
like writing bowls or broncos, but the children are racing sheep.
Do you have a boy or a girl winning the
state mutton busting championship? Wow? Yeah, I am. Before I

(01:19:17):
answer here, Andy, I am. I'm I'm worried when football
season rolls around if we're gonna be talking about this still,
you know what I mean. I'm worried about the guy
tab right here. But he's right though in this sense
it is bottom barrel that this is the bottom of
the barrel. It is. Yeah, I'm just you know, I
don't want to be talking about this when football is
going on, you know what I mean. I'm just worried
about that. No, you're doing a fine job considering the time.

(01:19:41):
Right here. Give me the boy, the boy taking the
girl because if a girl enters that, she's got to
know that she's pretty darn good. But I know what
the age factor is? What are the ages thee? There
we go, Okay, I got the girl. There we go.
By the way, color this money, color it red. We'll
talk all about it right here on Fox Sports Sunday next.

(01:20:02):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Fox Sports
Radio dot com and within the I Heart Radio app
search f s R to listen live. Everyone does it.
We'll get to that in just about a minute. Good morning, everybody.
Is it's that time? Yeah, it is. If you're coming in,

(01:20:23):
that's great. If you're just waking up, that's even better.
But this is Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio.
Many Ferminan. Now it's my pleasure to introduce a friend,
a friend, a very good friend and partner of this operation.
His name is Brian No Hello, b our three. What's
going on? Everything's going on, Andy Ferman. Lots to do,

(01:20:45):
changing lives in the final hour. You know, if labs
aren't changed, we're not doing our jobs. We entertain and informed.
That's basically what we do here. And I gotta ask
you to speak of entertainment. Normally, on a football Sunday,
you get up, get out and probably seek yourself at
a sports bar with about twelve glasses of diet coke
and watch you a football. Totally untrue. Nothing diet, never

(01:21:09):
drink any regular coke iced tea. I would go mountain
dew normal and water is normally what fools fuels my
football Sundays if I'm out and about, if I'm out
about you know. Yeah, but normally I normally out and
abou don't a football southern basically locked up? Typically not No,
I've done um Sunday ticket for a while. You know what,

(01:21:32):
I've just watched online. You get you at least four
games that I get my my other you know device
is going on, so I'll get six seven games in
the early window. So I have typically I used to
go to a sports bar every single Sunday, Andy, but
it's been a couple of years where I haven't done
that weekend in week out. Okay, well, I guess I
find it difficult watching a game of the sports bar.

(01:21:52):
You either see somebody. Really, I just that the sound
is usually down, there's usually a crowd, there's you a
lot of screaming, and I just like to have the
comfort of my couch and watch the game. And I
don't really take no love going out. I love going
to sports bars for football Sundays. Yeah. Well, I'm not
a people person maybe, But the reason I bring this up,

(01:22:15):
like we only have a couple of more weeks remaining
until like your football operation gets into full gear. What
do you do on a daylight today when there's no football? Oh,
I know what I'm gonna go, but i'll tell you
in a second. I just hang out really. Um you know,
I'll watch them baseball. I've watched more baseball than I
have in the last few years. Um. So I might

(01:22:36):
have a game going on in the background, might work
on a project here or there, you know, general shenanigans
going on, but I can still function. Maybe I'll watch
a movie. Maybe I'll go to a movie. You know.
So there's plenty of you. You know, it's amazing. We've
been doing this now for two plus hours today. Not
once has it been brought up by a caller, by

(01:22:58):
a tweet by us or anyone upon our staff that today.
And I just thought about he said, what are you
gonna do today? I want to watch the Hall of
Fame ceremonies from Cooperstown and the late Gil Hodges from
Brooklyn with the Brooklyn Dodges is going into the Hall
of Fame today, which I think is wonderful. Big poppies

(01:23:24):
going in, very excited to see what what he has
to say. And uh, that's cool. Man. Tim Kirchin went
in yesterday. So it's cool, man, Like, that's the one
thing about baseball. They do a great job the nostalgia, right,
like of the past and all that. I don't think
that ever becomes outdated. I still love all that type

(01:23:44):
of stuff. I do too, you know, and in a sense,
I think it's it's great to follow the thread, the
loneage from the year's past. And you know, it was
more so when they compared I lived in New York City.
You know who's the better center field Maize Mannels Snider.
You know, that's basically what it was. And I mean,
really they did that as big arguments said that's what

(01:24:05):
it was. I mean, now it's like the past is
kind of pushed aside. I don't know what went wrong
with baseball. I'm not here to discuss it, and I'm
not here to fix it. I can't, but I just
I just know that it's been bypassed big time by football.
And basically one time baseball was the national pastime. Now
it's just pastime. That's basically what it is. So yeah,

(01:24:27):
it's just look man, it's uh, it's a slower sport
and some people are fine with that, but you gotta
understand that the masses are not and in this day
and age, it's quick now quick now, social media, it's
now now always being engaged. And look, I still baseball
is still a great game, there's no doubt. But in

(01:24:47):
the way that things have morphed and changed. I can
understand with it being slower, that's what the pitch clock
and trying to speed it up. Speed it up. They understand,
they understand what's going on. That's not working for baseball
in term to the numbers growing, it's working against baseball.
But with David Ortiz going in, how about that we're
undrafted and to be an undrafted guy and to have

(01:25:10):
the career that he had, he's on the shortlist. There
have only been a couple of players in the history
of MLB that have hit at least five hundred homers
and have at least three Championship rings. Poppy is one
of four dudes. You got Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Reggie Jackson,
and David Ortiz. That's it. That's the list. It's great.

(01:25:30):
I think it's one. I like Big Poppy during the
old stock game when he was live in the dugout.
I think it was great. I mean, he's an entertainer
and he it's great. I mean it was crazy. He
didn't learn much out of it, but it was just fun.
You know this basically it is make it fun. And
I think they did a pretty decent joble I will
take this much. The announcement was no, it was nowhere
near uh what we what we had in the past,

(01:25:53):
and our guy jumped from Fox to the ESPN. So
you know, I just I just felt it was a
little slow and boring. Really he was dull. He was
a little dull. Put some action into it, have emotion.
Maybe he was nervous. I I don't know. I like
a guy with a storyteller and uh a little bit.
Joe Davis is that the guy? Yeah, yeah Davis I

(01:26:16):
like as well. Yeah, it does a very good job.
And I never heard him do the dodging games. I
don't know, but I like, got a little more life,
a little more storylines, and honestly, I just and he
didn't make a mistake, which anybody can make a mistake.
He thought the ball was gonna be caught and it
wasn't caught. That hate you hate Joe Davis is what
you didn't say as a commentator, Is that true? The
word the word hates too strong as a commentator, the

(01:26:39):
words not hate strongly? Uh, disapproved. He needs improvement, disimprovement,
he needs he needs to be improved. Mean, uh, you know,
I would say to give him a you unsatisfactory in
my in my book, I just say I want a
guy with a little more a little more personality. I mean,
I don't think it much personality. I really don't so

(01:27:02):
the game that the game was good. I'll say this
though real fast. He used to be teamed up with
Brady Quinn. They used to do college football games together.
And this dude's only thirty four years old. Think about
that doing Dodger games, doing National Fox baseball games, doing
his football stuff as well. That the football's difference. You know,

(01:27:23):
there's not much free dead time to talk in between pitches.
Baseball you talk a lot of dead time, and football
so much action. You can be somewhat staccato like you
know what I mean. You don't have to be you
can be boring, just say, oh, first down, boom boo boom,
give me the information. In baseball there's a lot of
dead time. You need to have some stories. And I
don't think he's got the experience at thirty four. He

(01:27:45):
just doesn't have it. And I think he should have
done a little when the research on the players that
were coming in. You know, we don't see these players.
But I understand what you're saying. I get it, and
there is a point to be made there where. Yeah,
I think personality is much more needed in baseball if
you're doing games, because there is there's so much time

(01:28:05):
in between the actions, so makes sense. So I understand
what you're saying. But down on, Joe Davis didn't know
this would be the case today. Well, speaking of announces,
what about Charles Barkley. Here's a guy I like, he's upbeat,
he's opinionated. Uh and right now he met with Live
in the Golf CEO Greg Norman out of a possible
broadcasting role, and uh he talked about selective outrage towards

(01:28:27):
the Saudi funded series Live. I mean, look, he could
he could get an offer from Greg Norman. They met
last Wednesday, I believe it was in Atlanta, but he
said he needs to be highly paid for him to
walk away from his report to get this eight figure
income as an NBA analyst for t NT and the
spokesperson for a lot of different companies. And look, you know,

(01:28:49):
I don't blame him number one. Number two. I enjoy
watching him. He's popular, he's good, He says what he means,
what he feels, doesn't hold back and doesn't care. And
I love guys like that Freeze to Win Charles Barkley
love him. Oh yeah, he does a tremendous job, no
doubt about that. He's got about three years and thirty
million dollars left on his T n T deal and

(01:29:10):
he has said he was on Serious x M p
G A Tour radio earlier this week and he said
it'd have to be a crazy offer for him to
consider it to go over to Live Golf when he's
making about thirty mill over the next three years. And hey,
we know the pockets are deep for the Live Golf
Tour with the being funded by the Saudi money over there.

(01:29:32):
We'll see, we'll see if he jumps over there. The
one thing I'll say, Andy, is you know, there are
a lot of people that are bent out of shape
about this, and I get it. They don't like what
the Live Tour is associated with, the affiliation, what it's
funded by. I get all of that, I really do.
And if you have a problem with the tour and
you have a problem with Charles Barkley going there, I understand.

(01:29:54):
But I just wish these people that are saying I
lost all respect for Charles Barkley, I wish they were
faced with the same to decision is what I wish
anybody who was like, I can't stay it, Charles Barkley
dead to me, I wish somehow that they would be
offered the same thing on the same scale. Right, You're
not gonna be offered fifty sixty million or whatever Charles
Barkley is gonna be offered. But if you're offered double

(01:30:17):
whatever you make and whatever occupation you have, and you're
working less and you just have to live with it's
being funded by Saudi government. Right. There are a lot
of people that are talking tough, I've lost all respect
for Charles Barkley, who would be taking the deal also,
not everybody. Some would stand on principle and say, no,
I don't care what you dangle in front of me,
I'm not taking it. But there are a lot of people,

(01:30:39):
you know what, Andy, they're talking tough about. It happens
all the time. In life. That happened when when the
a FL finally merged with the NFL, and happened when
the a B A merge with the NBA. Guys are
doing it for money, That's basically what they were doing.
And in the New York Post the other day, Barkley
was talking to Andrew marsh and and uh he said, quote,
I told Greg Norman, listen, they're making up wars like

(01:31:00):
blood money and sports washing. He said. We all have
taken blood money and we all have sports watch something.
So I don't like those words. To be honest with you,
that's what Charles Barkley said, And I'm with you. Be
you know, obviously, as you said early on today, you
have to have a conversation where one person doesn't necessarily
agree with the other person. I do. I agree with
you right now. You know you offer the job the

(01:31:21):
same function lou doing less time, less effort, and more money.
You'll jump at it tomorrow. Believe there would be There'll
be a lot of people that would. I just think
it's very easy if you're sitting on your couch talking
about what somebody else should or shouldn't do when they're
offered it. I'm just saying when the ball is in

(01:31:42):
your court and you're being offered it, sometimes that it
changes the equation for people. Look, some would stay true.
Someone said, no, I've got a big time problem with this.
I don't care if I stand to profit. I'm not
taking the deal. Others that are talking tough would take
the deal. And I can't help but think that every
time I hear someone say, oh, Charles Barkley, I can't

(01:32:02):
believe this. I can't believe and even entertain this. It's like, bro,
you probably were too, you know, you'd at least entertain it.
You know. It's funny because the New York Post article,
how I like a real smack on broccoli? He said,
get this, despite of conviction for a d U I
while conducting a roadside liaison with a suspected hooker, And
they said, well, what would the punishment for that be

(01:32:24):
in Saudi Arabia and being threatened with prosecution for four
hundred thousand dollars in unpaid casino gambling debts. Nevertheless, Charles
Barkley remains a great demand to endorse anything and everything
and to give it a shot there. Well, look, man,
he's great at what he does. We we always say this, Andy,
it's you're saying that talent Trump's trouble. Well, it works

(01:32:48):
in broadcasting. Also, Charles Barkley is excellent at what he does.
He gets attention, he makes people laugh, people discuss his
takes like. He gets the job. He's done a tremendous
job for a long long time. So of course he's
going to be in demand from liv golf. And we'll
see if he takes the deal or not what Maybe

(01:33:09):
we'll find out what he's offered. Of course, if he
takes the deal, will know, um. But even if he doesn't,
we might have an indication there. But I don't think
there's anything wrong with at least listening and entertaining the thought. Um.
But hey man, it's a hot button topic because of
the tie in with what this is funded by. I

(01:33:29):
totally understand that, and I guess really do address the
thing that Barkley said. There's some truth in what he's
talking about with blood money. I think he's too cavalier
with that. It's not like everything's on the same exact level.
But when he's talking about he's indicating look at China
and there if you're talking about human rights violations, good Lord,

(01:33:51):
and all these professional leagues are affiliated with China. Yeah,
so yeah, if you're picking and choosing, I get he's
got somewhat of a point, but it's also it's not
all on the same exact level. And when he makes
it sound like it is, that's where it's like, not
quite I understand what you're saying. Yeah, you're portioning it

(01:34:12):
right there for sure. But he says he doesn't want
to be a hypocrite. Discontinuing the New York Post. He
took a pile of money to appear in TV commercials
for weight Watchers, swearing in his work wealth him as
the public watch his weight increase to what is now
maybe bloodline obesity. So again they took a shot. It's
like some people, man, it's like it's no, it's the

(01:34:33):
gotcha police. It's like it's looking for hypocrisy. That isn't there.
You know that that's just such a waste of time. Oh,
this guy Barkley, he did he did Weight Watchers commercials
and looking weight right, Really, dude, you realize how big
of a reach that is. It's like, you just think
value your position when you bring up bs like that's

(01:34:54):
just stupid. It's a stupid point. You know, we we
got some calls here and we'll get them in the
next segment about Barkley and I think we got Russ
from Tennessee about n I also we'll get those as well.
We've got Brian No on Twitter at the No Show
and Oe Show at Andy Ferman FSR eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. You can be like Russ and
we can be like Jerome Okay eight seven seven sixty nine.

(01:35:19):
We've got Brian No one knows picks at the end
of this album. Right now, it's one coach against the
world and it's next. Fox Sports Radio has the best
sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our
shows at Fox Sports Radio dot Com and within the
I Heart Radio app. Search f s R to listen live.
This could be his last round. Double Will explain that

(01:35:41):
he just about a minute towary three minutes past the hour.
This is Fox Sports Sunday. He's Brian Noham Andy Ferman
without further ado. People are lined up here like LaGuardia.
It really is. We got calls out of the wazoo. Really,
Russ from Tennessee wants to talk to Brian No and
Andy Furman on Fox Bots Radio. Hello, Russell, how are you?
What's up? Guys? How are you doing today? Good? Thanks

(01:36:03):
for holding Hey? Uh just in I O deal UM.
I used to deliver to UH University of Tennessee, and
I watched those players come in and out at cafeteria
over there, and I just don't see that they need
be paid what they're getting paid. They've getting the free education,

(01:36:23):
they've got free room, and they eat from daylight to dark.
Any time do you get paid for your delivery service?
What I'm trying to say about that, Andy, is people
who are working for a living are paying their money
out of their pocket to rent UH food utilities. Those

(01:36:47):
guys aren't doing that. I agree with Andy. I worked.
I worked hard every day. I drove a truck for
living across country. I'll make a hundred k a year
and it takes me ten years to make what some
of these kids are coming in and signing for and

(01:37:09):
haven't done a damn thing to earn it. So they
have done something to earn it. That's where you run.
They have they've excelled in high school, their top recruits,
and that's gonna be the going rate. Man. You either
accept it or you don't watch. That's the bottom line is.
But what I'm saying is people they they're getting all

(01:37:30):
this money, plus they're getting a stipend. I've heard these
people complain about not being able to afford to take
their girlfriend out or whatever, and they're getting fifteen to
two thousand dollars a month to spend on their own.
When they go somewhere, their trust, their their bust to
the places are fluel, to the places, they're eating free

(01:37:50):
while they're there. They get put up in hotels. People
are out here working or having to pay that out
of their pocket. My company doesn't pay for me. It
sounds like Ellis sounds like it said. What I'm saying
is is an eighteen to twenty one year old kid,
they could be out there on the street working paying that.

(01:38:11):
But at the same time, we get a free education,
and they deserve that because they are bringing in revenue.
They are bringing in a mission, admission enrollment increases, there's
selling merchandise, they're getting their schools on TV. It is
the only job in America where they had not gotten paid.
Think about that. They are the talent, they have the
reason you buy a ticket and to be able to

(01:38:33):
go out and do certain things with and they deserve it.
They deserve it, I agree, But they shouldn't be getting
paid millions of dollars to do that because you cannot
tell me that the University of Tennessee, but the Tennessee
the university is not paying them. Individuals are paying them
to promote their business. That's what L I V is
all about. N I L. What's supposed to be about

(01:38:56):
it is That's what it's supposed to be about. What
I think you're just stuck in the past, dude. I
think that's the thing. Is I really, I really don't
think you'd have an issue. Like, listen, dude, I don't
know what you're man like. I don't think you'd have
an issue if like's like take a musician. If a
musician was, you know, performing and all of a sudden,

(01:39:18):
a bunch of people came out and you know he's
making a cut of that, I don't think you'd have
an issue. I think it's just because this wasn't the
way it's been in college athletics, specifically college football. Now
that it's different, people are freaking out about it. I
think it's more so because it's different than anything. I mean, like, listen,
it's it's the same thing we talked about it Andy.

(01:39:38):
When professional sports, there are plenty of draft picks who
get paid huge money and fizzle out completely in the NFL.
They get paid huge before they've done anything in the NFL.
That's the way it goes. Sort you gotta draft a
kid out of college as a picture blows his on out.
That's a big bonus check prior to that. What that's

(01:39:59):
what it is a crapshoot that you can take a chance.
That's what it's all about. Yeah, look at this past
NFL draft. Any of these players from the top pick,
whether it's Trayvon Walker, Aiden Hutchinson, none of these guys
have done anything in the NFL, yet they're making huge money.
That's the same case in college where these kids have

(01:40:21):
excelled in high school football and they're getting money. Now.
It's just I just think people are stuck in the
past on this thing. The people that are are raging
and get oh, I drive a truck and I work hard,
and that's great, that's awesome. But I think you're right, Andy,
there is a little bit of jealousy factor. I bust
my butt and I make this and you haven't done
anything yet, and you make that, It's like yeah, because

(01:40:44):
it generates that much money and there's that much demand.
That's the way it goes. Go out, get a football,
go to the park on Sundays, just not practicing. There
you go? All right? Jerome and Iowa City with Brian
Nolan Andy Ferman on Fox Sports Readier. Hello, Jerome, how
are you? Good morning? Annie? Great? Love the show, guys.

(01:41:06):
I don't want to hijack at the politics, but just
piggybacking on what Brian was saying about the l I V.
And maybe I don't have quite the same angle. But
I hope that everybody that's complaining of and I'm not
a fan of V by any means, I hope that
everybody's complaining about it is also writing there. You'd like this, Annie,

(01:41:26):
writing a letter to their congressman, senator, President. Please don't
be over there kissing the butt of the Saudi saying
we need more of your oil. We need How is
that different? I sympathize with the economically challenged in our country.
The price of gas is horrible for a lot of us.
Come on, it's just a nuisance. Great, you're gonna spend

(01:41:49):
a hundred dollars more for your vacation. Uh, because of
the gas if you're in the lower tier. Yeah, I do,
sincerely feel badly, but for most of it it's not.
It's nothing compared to being bombed like the you know,
and we all know, you know Ukraine, that that tied
into the price of gas right now. But but again,

(01:42:13):
sorry to get back to my point, we're playing, we're
all as a nation playing ball at the Saudis, hoping
to get more gas from them. So how is that
different from the l I V tournament. I'll let you go.
Great show, guys, thank you, thank you very much. You
know it is. It is a dividing light's a line

(01:42:33):
of the sand that I hate to stay with the Saudis,
but it's a line. There's a lot of people have
that feeling. It's uh, it's something that maybe we should
just stay away from. But the money, money talks, that's
what it's all about. And again, as you mentioned, be
you know, if that is put on a platter before
many people, no matter what position they are, what job
they have, they're gonna have a tough time saying no, Well,

(01:42:54):
that's the the all I'm saying, is this andy for
the people that are against live golf and who it's
funded by. I understand, and I'm not trying to talk
to those people off of their position. I'm just saying
it's easy to say what somebody else should do in
terms of their offer. It changes the equation when you're
offered that. And I would love for any of these

(01:43:15):
people that I've lost all respect for Charles Barkley, I
would love I would love for them to be offered
something significant where I don't know that they dismiss it
as easily as no way, I don't care what you
offer me. There are a lot of people that wouldn't
do that. You know it, I know it. It's just
I can't help but think that when I hear those
people say those things about Barkley or Bryson Deshambo, whoever's

(01:43:38):
going over there to take the cash, I just wish
they were offered something on their scale where they could
double their pay. We just talked to a guy who
delivers a truck. Let's say his pay could be bumped
up from a hundred K to two hundred k and
he's working less. You gotta think about that, right A
lot of people would be thinking about it instead of
just dismissing it automatically. Right, He's probably know I made

(01:44:00):
the firm of this is Fox Sports Sunday on Fox
Posts Radio. By the way, what does his future look like? Well,
that's coming right up. But this man's future is now
in your future. For me, Andy is to be my
caddy because I'm going to try to play some pro
golf and i'd love to you. I love that. Yeah,
I look forward to to seeing you in in any

(01:44:21):
restaurant but the one I mentioned last hour. And I
will pay because I know if you pay, you're gonna
complain and say I can't believe I wasted my time.
So I have to throw out a little bone and
incentive for you. But so as far as Major League Baseball,
the Braves top all the angel seven or two yesterday.
Atlanta now is scooching to within a half game of

(01:44:42):
first in the NL East. Now the Mets lead that division,
but their lead is a lot smaller thanks in large
parts of what the Padres are doing. They beat the
Mets yesterday to the one Manda Machado how to two
run homer. The Dodgers etch a seventh straight win as
they defeat the Giants forward to two. ELI start picture
Julio Urius picks up his ninth one of the season.

(01:45:03):
His debt line six innings of orc nowhere and runs,
five strikeouts, and speaking of strikeouts, Brady Singer career high
twelve k's for the Royals as they bust out a
win against the Raise six to three. Justin Verlander loggs
the thirteenth win on the mound this year, which is
best in the BIGS, as his astros suppressed the Mariners

(01:45:24):
three to one. The Orioles fends off the Yankee six
to three, Garrett Cole blowing a three run lead. He
also suffers the third loss of the season, now nine
and three on the year. The Brewers top the Rockies
nine to four, Milwaukee, owning a game and a half
lead for first in the NL Central. Over Brian Knows Cardinals,
who are hanging in there on hot pursuit of Milwaukee

(01:45:48):
after St. Louis just ripped apart. Andy Furman's read six
to three. Obliterate whatever verbs you want to use there
it works six three the final score. And finally, not
live golf, but the PGA Tour has a tournament happening
this week, and we've got one round to go. They
got through some weather issues on Saturday, and the three

(01:46:09):
M Open has Scott Piercy as your leader of minus
fifteen through fifty four minus eighteen, I should say through
fifty four holes. He possesses a four shot lead car
to a sixties six Saturday, and we'll tee off as
part of the final group today at twelve thirty five Eastern.
Let's get back to Brian now and Andy Furman. Furman,
by the way, last time he played nine holes he

(01:46:30):
had a sixty six carded. That was a miniature golf.
That was a a miniature golf, which is even more embarrassing.
But it's Andy Furman. So of course, thank you very much,
have a great day. Could really see you next week
in Kentucky. Can't wait. I can't wait, really, I really can't.
By the way, a tradition has just died. We'll get
to that in about ten minutes. But right now, this
guy's on the hot seat. But i'll tell you what

(01:46:51):
it's on the hot seat. P he's probably nom Andy
Furman this n I L I think anytime you took
money and people talk about money and kids getting money,
and uh, the jealousy factor arrived. It really is. That's
what it's all about. It really jealousy. How come they're
getting it? How come I'm not getting it? Again, the
phone lines have been hotter than a firecracker today, Justins
and Texas wants to talk to us a Fox Buts radio. Hello, Justin,

(01:47:15):
how are you hey? How are you good? What's up? Okay?
I've got two things and I appreciate if you let
me finish real quick. So, first of all, I just
want to call you out on your liberal bias by
saying something about they're jealous because they drive trucks and
they work. I don't know what's liberal bias? What the

(01:47:36):
hell are you talking about? Fish? Let me finish. And
then the second thing, Okay, if they were, how is
that liberal bias? Like through the second thing, how is
that liberal bias? Well, I don't want to say what
other kind of bias it is because I'll be like
liberals now la time. How is it that have anything

(01:47:56):
to do? Listen to me? I said, let me finish.
Answers questions, say something, answers question if they If you
want to pay the kids, that's fine, But how about
we do this, you give the kids a choice. You
either get the n i owed money or you get
no scholarship. If you want to n i owe money,
then you pay for your own school. Like again, like

(01:48:19):
you you have a position, that's fine. I don't know
why you would view that as liberal bias. That's stupid.
You realize it's stupid, right, Why would you? Why would
you say there has nothing to do with conservative or liberal.
That has something to do with common sense. I think
if you're the main reason you're generating all of this money,
you deserve a portion of it that has nothing to

(01:48:41):
do with conservative or liberal at all, nothing zero. How
about we give him a choice by saying you either
get a scholarship or you get an i OW Why
why would we need to do that? Because you're you're
saying you're everybody is obviously thinking that the education is
not worth anything because you said that, So how who's
that you're assuming that? No, you're you're the one thing?

(01:49:05):
When did we say that? He's never said that if
education means nothing, they wouldn't go to college in the
first place to play really, so, but my answer the
question should should they would you be good both or
the scholarship both. Yeah, why is there a choice? Why

(01:49:25):
should there be a choice? And what about the athletes
that may not get in the money? That's right because
the school, the scholarship has nothing to do with the sports.
If a girl gets a scholarship of field hockey is
a good and why not. The scholarship has nothing to
do with the sport. That's why you're on scholarship. My word,
what are you talking about. You gotta make some sense

(01:49:47):
over here, man, I don't know what you're talking about.
You just can't handle getting beat. The scholarship is for
the education. The scholarship is because you're playing sports, dude.
That's why you're on scholarship. Because, like Andy just said
right there, just because you're on scholarship doesn't mean you're

(01:50:07):
getting huge n I L. Money. Let me let me
put you in and let me bring you down to earth.
Scholarships are given for athletics, but they're also given for mathematics,
they're given for chemistry. They given if you're in the band.
If you're in the band of time out. If you're
in the band to get a scholarship, there's a real
good chance you can go out on the weekend and
do some gigs and make some money. So why can't
these athletes also get their scholarship for performing football or

(01:50:28):
whatever the sport they're in, and also get money on
the side like every other scholarship person gets. If I'm
a mathematic scholarship, I could go out and tutor kids
on the weekend and make money. I could get twenty
bucks an hour to tutor a kid. So why can't
these kids get money? Wake up? Come off, I want
to great argument. That was well done. I'm proud of you.

(01:50:49):
That was Yes, absolutely, that was well articulated, well laid out.
About time, right, it's about time right, admitted. I'll tell
you what we were like, uh, you know, a pro
wrestling tag team right there, like the Dudley Boys or something.

(01:51:09):
I don't know, but that was I mean, come on, man,
it is jealousy. It is it is. That's basically what
it is. Why should these kids get money? Deserve it,
That's what's the jealous when it comes to money. More
often than not, it's jealousy. But it's a great it's
a great thought of if you are on an academic scholarship,

(01:51:31):
you can make money on the side. You you brought
up the mathematics major and tutoring on the side. And
it's a similar concept to most peopleball player getting his
scholarship and then getting paid on the side. And it's
an I M now, I don't understand the thinking. And
to call it liberal bias, that's just stupid, man. That
is completely to do with liberal or conservative politics at all. Right,

(01:51:56):
when people hear the term scholarship, just assume with sports
and athletics, it's not. There are scholarships given almost every
situation in college. You can get a scholarship in the
music department, chemistry, mathematist. That's it scholarship. That that's basically
what is for you earn a scholarship in the in
the field that you excel in athletics, mathematics, chemistry, whatever

(01:52:17):
it may be. Well, and the other part is I
mean I think about um, I just think it's because
it's new and it's different that people are struggling with
this thing. But if you look at other examples where
take the Olympics, does anybody have any problem whatsoever? I've seen?
Um is it Sunny Lee that's on a Gatorade commercial,

(01:52:39):
where does anybody have any problem whatsoever with what she's
making or why she's getting paid how much? Like everybody
is all into college football and how many millions of dollars?
How much is this guy getting paid? What's up with that?
Why would he get this much? Are you really bent
out of shape about other aspects that are on a
similar level, right, like as anybody bent out of shape

(01:53:01):
about an Olympic gymnast getting on a Gatorade commercial and
getting paid. That's naming likeness right there. It's the same
freaking thing. I think you hit it on the head.
It's new and a lot of people are stuck in
the past during the quicksand that they don't want to
turn it around. I mean, they don't deserve any money.
They get a free ride, they get a free, free education.
Well fine, but the kids who got a free education

(01:53:22):
busting there. But they're going to class, the practicing three
hours a day, going to film sessions, plus the risk
of injury. You didn't even bring that into the equation.
I mean they and they're bringing extra students into school,
increasing enrollment, increasing of it's a visibility selling merchandise. Come on,
we know what's going on. They don't them, That's what
that's why they listen to us be to find them

(01:53:43):
what the real answer is. I just haven't heard a
great take where I'm like, you know, I disagree, but
there's some meat on that bone. It's like the last
couple of colors that are pushing back on n I
l I did hear one good point, and that's not
just because was a different position. There are positions I
disagree with where they bring a good argument to the table,

(01:54:06):
like liberal bias didn't happen, did not happen? There we go.
Brian No, Ad Ferman, Fox Sports Sunday con Fox Books Radio.
A tradition has just died. We'll tell you all about
it next. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at

(01:54:26):
Radio app. Search f s R to listen live. Baby
Nose Picks coming right up. I can't wait. About twelve
minutes now before the top of the hour. By the way,
he's Brian no on the Andy Ferman and at the
top of the hour that would be nine o'clock on
the East Coast, Mike Harmon and Bucky Brooks. What a
combination Brooks and Harmon, Harman and Brooks take him anyway
you can. You can get him on the I Heart
radio app on Sirius XM maybe three, and of course

(01:54:48):
on many are these same Fox Books radio affiliates. But
right now it's time for my guy, my partner and friend,
Brian No and nose picks. Are you in desperate need
of gambling insight? But Brian No is here and now

(01:55:12):
the time is up? All right? Andy from in a
quick review of last week, got off to a good start.
I took the Yankees over four and a half team runs.
There are a lot of elements that I liked about it.
That's right. They scored eleven runs, very nice. I took
them plus one hundred on the run line against the
Red Sox. Right here. It worked out as well. Now

(01:55:35):
I went to the Open Championship. I had Dustin Johnson
finishing in the top five. Apparently I finished tied for six.
Andy just just missed that one, barely missed. It doesn't
count almost almost, but two in one winning week. Not bad.
Let's ride the momentum here. I'm gonna look to baseball here.

(01:55:58):
The Dodgers have just been red hot, they have been
crushing it. I'm gonna take them over four and a
half team runs today against the San Francisco Giants. They've
been playing very good baseball, so I think they scored
at least five runts to day. You're with me on that. Okay, good,
Now you gotta put on your gambling cap here. A
little bit of math involved, but nothing crazy. I'm gonna

(01:56:20):
take the Yankees in the first five innings against the
Orioles today. Nestor Cortez had a very good season so far,
pitching for the New York Yankees. Just got engaged. He proposed,
who is his bride to be? She said, yes, he's
riding the wave over here. I think the Yankees are
on top. They have to have the lead when the

(01:56:42):
first five innings are completed today. I think they will
give me the Yanks in the first five against the Orioles.
But I think I think you're okay, was playing a
good baseball though. That's just tough, bed, But okay, you're
a little on the fence. But we white knuckle it
on this one and the last one. Look, Houston has
had Seattle's number. I'm gonna take Seattle. They're an underdog today.

(01:57:02):
They're at home. Robbie Ray pitching for them. They're at
plus one oh five. I'll roll with the Mariners. They
had one fourteen straight. I know they've taken a couple
on the chin against Houston. This is the time to
buy them by low. They're underdogs here today. Give me
the Mariners. That's a good game. I wouldn't mind seeing
that game, to be honest, that's a heck of a game,

(01:57:22):
are you yes? Hopefully that's time to go your own
way and here I go. By the way. It's a
site that Miami Hurricane football fans have become accustomed to.
It's the turnover chain. Now since seventeen and since that season,
if to every takeaway the Hurricanes play are responsible for
the play wore a massive ten carrot gold turnover chain. Well,

(01:57:47):
college football fans, you won't see it anymore. New Miami
football coach Mario Crost the Ball has shockingly decided to
retire the turnover chain. You know why. He says, it's
not part of our culture. That's what he says. He
should have a turnover chain, not part of the culture.
There were rumors servicing back in January for Hurricane's offensive
coordinate Alex Mirrabelle that the move would be made. Now

(01:58:09):
it's official, and that chain was introduced by Many Diaz
the defensive coordinated Miami back to seventeen. No more chain, goodbye,
it's out of here, adios. All right. How about this.
So there's a Florida man and he's on the hook
for quite a bit of money. He's had tall grass,
high grass over ten inches tall and so the finest

(01:58:30):
quite steep. Check this out as it stands. Now, how
much are you on the hook for? And I think
it's probably approaching thousand now, right. He was attending to
the house of his late mother. He was selling the house.
He was away from his Someone was supposed to cut
his grass. That person unexpectedly passed away. The grass was tall.

(01:58:55):
This goes all the way back to and he got
fined five hundred dollars a day. The fighting is nearly
thirty thousand dollars now, it's the whole thing. Man, he's
trying to uh, he's trying to clear his name, but
it's all in the appeals process, and this whole thing
keeps getting dragged out there. It's pretty crazy right now.

(01:59:15):
And then also this, I'll take you to Springfield, Missouri.
A Missouri man says that He's filed a class action
lawsuit against bass Pro because this dirt bag is trying
to turn in his socks. There's a lifetime warranty on socks.
He's been doing this for a long time. He exchanges
his Warren socks for new ones. They've changed their warranty.

(01:59:39):
It's now a sixty day warranty. This low life who's
trying to get free socks doesn't like it. He's filed
the class action lawsuit. I hope he loses. If you're
trying to work the system and get free socks, I
mean you've hit a new low. Andy Furman, come on,
get a life unbelievable. By the way, our time is up.
We thank you so very much for yours. We hope

(01:59:59):
to see you right here a Fox Sports Radio next week.
Stay tuned, keep it locked here on Fox Sports Radio.
