Speaker 1 (00:00):
Lads, you want experience during your football season, Well, buckle up,
sweet cheeks. What we've got all the experience in the world.
This is I want your flex with Dan Byer and
Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break down everything you need
to set your lineups, from position rankings to starts and sins.

(00:24):
The guys help you make those hard decisions. And now
let's get your flex on. Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
All right, the NFL season is almost here. Hit Mike
up on Twitter dot com at Swollen Dome. You can
find me at Dan Byer on Fox. And our executive
producer is Ryan Berschinger. You can find at Ryan Berschinger.
We're all hanging out today, can't wait to talk about
the upcoming NFL season, and we know it is right
on the horizon.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
It's Week one in the NFL, but we did.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Want to take a step back in take a look
at the National Football League, give you our thoughts on
who's going to play in Super Bowl fifty eight and fellas.
And let's start with the American Football Conference only because
it comes first alphabetically. You have a Kansas City Chiefs
team that is playing on Thursday, night against the Lions.

(01:13):
We know that there's injury issues, you know that there's
holdout issues, But Mike, they still are the defending champs.
And if you want to be the champs, you're likely
going to have to beat the champs. Oh that's not
a bad rig, Flair. I think we blew out our
speakers with that one. But hey, Ric Flair has done
worse than his lifetime.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
Yeah. Actually, infomercials and all of the documentaries. I know
the changing as well.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
I didn't even realize it, but I was holding up
four fingers as I was talking to you. But the
Chiefs the defending champs, Mike, Let's start with Kansas City.
I mean, is this a team prime to repeat? Every
time you want to count them out, they'll end up
blowing a team out by twenty four points. And then
when you think they're gonna be on cruise control, maybe
it's a little bit closer. But they still are the

(01:59):
defending Super Bowl champions. Let's start with Kansas City and
the AFC.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Yeah, I mean when you look at KC, you know,
last year everybody wrote them off, right, they got rid
of Tyreek Hill, It's all going to go to hell. Well,
you distribute the ball amongst multiple players, and then you
have Kelsey healthy, put a big star and astisk next
to him for a moment, and defensively they made plays
as necessary tested Ben don't break and you've always got

(02:25):
Mahomes to get you over the top. This year, whole
new wide receiver. It's almost like they want to have
everybody that plays have an opportunity to get a ring.
So it's like, you guys all got a ring last year.
Get out. So we're bringing in a whole new crew
of characters across the board. And Valde Scantling is going
to be interesting from a target perspective, and obviously wondering

(02:47):
Isaiah Pacheco how much he is going to be a
workhorse versus will you still see a bunch of the
backups along the way right? Does it become a two
or three man committee? But the two biggest questions entering
the season is Jones gonna get paid? Is he gonna
be happy? And the hyper extension of the knee from

(03:07):
Travis Kelce What does that mean? What does that mean?
Is that one week to two weeks? Is that four weeks?
I don't know because really we've seen what it means
to go through arrowhead as with the home field advantage.
And while it may not matter in Game one against Detroit,
right because hey it's the opener, folks are gonna do

(03:29):
overreaction one way or another. Anyway, is Kelsey available for
the stretch run? Right now? I anxiously moved to the
front of my chair, going all right, now, this just
got interesting.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
Yeah, I mean it completely did.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
As if the AFC was an already interesting person. Because
we know how good that the Cincinnati Bengals were took
them to the limit again in the AFC Championship game.
The AFC East got a heck of a lot more
interesting in this offseason. And then you have the upstart
Jacksonville Jaguars. We'll get to them in a second. AFC South.
But you know, I didn't even talk about the contenders
in their own division, but there seems to be plenty

(04:05):
of firepower around the AFC obviously.

Speaker 5 (04:08):
Oh absolutely, I think when we're looking at the top contenders,
because and you and I have had this conversation, Dan,
when I'm trying to figure out who I'm going to
pick to come out of the AFC, there's a good
like six or seven teams where if I said them,
people would respect my pick. You know, like you have
the Chiefs, the Bengals, you can go with, the Chargers,

(04:28):
you can go obviously, Bills, Dolphins, even the Jets. Quite frankly, like,
there are so many strong teams at the top of
the AFC, and all of them with loaded offenses, loaded
skill positions, loaded fantasy value.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
I find it interesting on how down I am about.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
The Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
I just guys, I have Josh Allen in my leagues
and as a team. I still think that things play
out as they did at the end of last year
and then of the offseason. I don't think that this
team is tight bonded. You don't have Von Miller, which
I think it could be good fantasy wise for the
Buffalo Bills because may be in some shootouts. But I'm
having a tough time believing in anything right now in

(05:10):
the Buffalo Bills, still in their running games questions, I
am not a believer in Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Well.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
I think it still comes down to the how much
is real versus imagined? Of Stefan Diggs, right, because you
know there's some very loud mouths in our business who
had Digs and well other folks, I mean, let's call
it what it is. It was one lineup of guys
just saying you don't know what you're talking about. Shut
up when making bold proclamations about how disgruntled and salty

(05:38):
they are about their situations. But might there be an
element of truth there? Sure, whenever there's a change at coordinator.
And that's the other thing that's league wide that we
have to watch sixteen new offensive coordinators fellas across this NFL,
so we have no idea, you know how quickly stuff
gets to churn. But do you believe in James Cook

(05:58):
just because he's got the same sir as a you know,
multi thousand yard rusher Damian Harris? All Right, he's been
good at times between the tackles and certainly at the
goal line. But is he is he still got that
push to him and Josh Allen. The turnovers were high.
How much is attributed to injury versus forcing it, et cetera.

(06:19):
You know, I took some flyers in fantasy leagues on
Gabe Davis hoping that we cash out. And to your point,
Dan if von Miller is not able to get back
for a while, Yeah, let's get those shootouts, Get the
popcorn ready, because it's gonna get crazy.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
I'm inspect deav in the middle of a draft right now.
Not that I'm not paying attention to this podcast because
I am. Gave Davis went a lot higher than I
expected interesting in this draft, and I was high on
Gabe Davis. I think I think we had like two
episodes last year. I was like all about Gabe Davis,
and my whole point was, if you're playing the number
two wide receivers on other teams, then you should be

(06:56):
playing Gabe Davis because he was w R two in
Buffalo for a team that could throw for four hundred
yards in any given a week. But he is going
higher than I thought. And maybe it's not because I'm
because I was so high on Gabe Davis and the
Bills last year that now, because I'm backtracking on it,
I think that I'm not as high in him this
time around. Easy for me to say, I don't know,

(07:17):
I'm not a big Gabe Davis lover this time around.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
There you go, You've dived off the bandwagon. Him and
Clyde Edwards Hilaria two guys that are on your do
not draft list.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Division wise.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
In the AFC, it's fun picking divisions because you always
want to find that team that's maybe the sleeper that
can move up. I just can't not Kansas City out
of the AFC West. This is what my decka you know,
my hand of cards looks like. In the AFC deck,
Kansas City I have winning the AFC West. I don't
think that's much of a surprise. I have Jacksonville winning

(07:50):
the AFC South, not much of a surprise. I am
picking Pittsburgh to win the AFC North, and I did
go with the Jets to win the AFC East. That's
how my four look. Across the top of the divisions
of the AFC.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
I go pretty chalk. In terms of division winners, I
still think I still think I'll have the Chiefs winning
the West, even though I think the Chargers will grab
a wild card and probably should win that division. Jaguars
out of the South. I still think that the Bengals
will take the North, even with Joe Burrow's health concerns.

(08:24):
But I do like the Ravens a lot. I'm very
much buying into this idea of Todd Munket's offense there especially,
and I think we can really dive into the Ravens
receiving corps. Is very interesting for fantasy because you don't
know which one is going to be the one that
really breaks out of it, but you kind of feel
like someone is absolutely going to.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
It's just Mark Andrews. Everything else is gonna fluctuate. At
least that's how I see it. Everybody's gonna get fed.
It's just a matter of win.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
Yes, absolutely, And in the East, I'm still going to
stick with the Bills timidly, but I'm also going to
say that the Jets are going to make it as
a wild card, which kind of hurts for me on
a personal level, but feelings aside, I'm gonna let that.
Let that go. In my main league, I assumed Garrett

(09:12):
Wilson was going to be kept because he had ridiculous
keeper value, Like ninth round. This guy was able to
keep Garrett Wilson in the ninth round, and I think
he just didn't notice it because he at the start
of the draft set, I'm keeping George Pickens in the
eighth round, and I turned to my friends, I'm like,
what in the hell is he doing?

Speaker 4 (09:31):
But okay, I mean I love these some George Pickens.
But I mean, so you watch all those training camp videos,
I guess so I.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
Think that's all he watched for the last like five months.
So so then I got to jump at Garrett Wilson
in the second round, which I absolutely loved. So yeah,
I'm definitely buying into that Jets offense, so that those
are my picks.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
Then you're like that Dan going, hey, look at this
roube Aha, I took him Chiefs up top the West, No,
no anxiety there. Chargers will be charging at some point.
It's just inevitable. You look at the and I don't
trust Russell Wilson to save anything. The Raiders are what
they are. The South. I mean, I've been talking about

(10:16):
the Jacksonville Jaguars, but you know, now, everybody, it's like overloading.
So do I go back to Tannehill and Hopkins and
decide King Henry's got enough on his shoulders to carry
them through. Yeah, why don't I do that? Why don't
I take the Titans to win some slop because I
think the Texans and Colts are gonna be good enough
to just mess things up a little bit, and so

(10:38):
I'll take the Titans to come out. I think the
Jaguars still make the playoffs in the North. I'm so
heavily invested on Lamar Jackson, but the entire time I'm
sitting there going, you're gonna get over twelve games this year,
aren't you? Aren't you? Aren't you? Please? And obviously they
had all their stuff with the wide receivers to what

(10:59):
burst saying before. Now it's who stays healthy? Is Odell
Beckham Junior any resemblance of the guy we knew once
upon a time. We do know. If Mark Andrews is healthy,
he's a beast. And then the backfield, Dobbins and company
should give them ample opportunity to make some plays. And
Jackson's still with his legs. Steelers are interesting as well,
but they're starting to become everybody's late darling here as well.

(11:24):
And then I can't turn my back on the Buffalo
Bills because I can't have the Jets in for personal reasons, Burush,
I can't. It's got to be a disaster, you know, this, Buyer,
You know this as well as anybody. If they play well,
I'm in hell for six months. And maybe I deserve that,
Maybe I deserve that, maybe karma, you know, to go

(11:45):
into all the Taylor Swift songs. Maybe that's what I deserve.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
I will say I do think the Dolphins are the
wild card at all of this. Yeah, you know, and
if you really want to, like take a step back,
like if Vic Fangio can turn around that defense, that offense,
if they get moving, they may be more well rounded

(12:10):
of the entire bunch. Like, I don't think it's I
don't think it's far fetched to say that if Tua
stays healthy, that offense is going to produce more than
the Jets offense. But I agree, I mean, yeah, yeah,
people will say that Aaron Rodgers is a better quarterback
than Tua, But if you look at it as a whole,

(12:32):
in what they have, I would actually rather take what
Miami has, at least the year of what they have,
than what the Jets have. And then now, if Miami's
defense could just get better, it may not match to
the Jets level. But they're a little bit more even
than you would think. It's just a matter of where
do you think they are against stacking up against Buffalo.
You guys are higher on the bills than I am.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
Now the Jets are talking like they're going to go
after the eighty five Bears. Come on, come with that
nonsense over there.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
It was difficult picking a wildcard team as well in
the AFC because you have your division winners and then
you're like, okay, well, if you picked the Chiefs, obviously
the Chargers are there. Depending on who you guys picked
in the you know, AFC North, I had Pittsburgh. So
I'm sitting there picking on Buffalo or Cincinnati and or
excuse me, Baltimore and Cincinnati and trying and trying to
sort it out. But yeah, there's gonna there's gonna be

(13:19):
a couple of good teams that are left out of
the AFC playoff pixture in the end. Who plays in
Super Bowl fifty eight?

Speaker 4 (13:24):
In your mind from the AFC, Well, first off, can
we trade any of them and relegate them to the
NFC for a year, so we achieved balance. Since we
love parody so much, you know, I had him in
as a wildcard coming in off of the South with Tennessee.
I stated it on the Sunday Morning Show with Furman

(13:45):
and Bucky Brooks. I repeated here, and it wasn't just
a Curry favor with Bucky who works for the Jaguars,
but I got the Jaguars representing in Lawsow.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Wow, Doug Peterson back into the promised land bursting. Are
you sticking your neck out as far as Harmon.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
Is in the a f C.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
I mean maybe because I don't have a neck though, Dan,
yes you do.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Yes, I.

Speaker 5 (14:14):
I guess I would be picking a team that I
also have as a wild card team. And and no,
I'm not picking the Jets to go to the super
Bowl because I can't.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
I well, you'd be afraid of what I do to
you exactly.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
Exactly if there there are plenty of reasons why. That
just terrifies me. I feel like the Chargers have so
much talent that it's got to work for them at
some point. And so, uh my pick, timid timidly would
be the Chargers to to make it out of the AFC,
because I, quite frankly, I believe that the difference that

(14:48):
Kellen Moore can hopefully provide to that offense and hopefully
they get healthier as a as a team. Exactly there
we go. So yeah, I will I will pick the
Chargers to come out of the AFC.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
All right, so we've got Jaguars Chargers. None of us
are picking the Chiefs. None of us are going with
the repeat. I just believe in Cincinnati. I think that
this is their window. I don't know how far the
window is going to be open, but just them losing
and how they lost in the AFC Championship Game just
does not make me ever want to bet against them.

(15:24):
I think the Bengals go back to the Super Bowl
for the second time in three years.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
Let's get it on. Maybe they'll appreciate it more. The
fans were a little too happy leaving the leaving Sofi
Stadium a couple of years ago after a loss.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
That's Mike's way of telling you burst that he had
a front row seat to this bad boy, the Super
Bowl fifty six.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
One of the super paid for it. Nobody gave me
any tickets out.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Yeah, break all you want, talk about it all.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
You want, just saying I paid for and I can talk.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
About Oh well, hey, they'll then be happy to be
there for the second time in three years. There you go,
if my predictions are correct. All right, there's a look
at the AFC. We're gonna come back with a look
at the NFC, and then we can match up our
Super Bowl matchups. It's all here and I want your flex.
I'm also this league, by the way, is IDP.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
Oh boy.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
So we are now in the point where like Josie
Jewel just went above Odell Beckham Junior and Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
How much are tackles worth in this league?

Speaker 3 (16:27):
Yeah? Like I hate this league.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
Well, I remember drafting in one when IDP really wasn't
a thing and someone decided to get cute and then
they It was so weighted that if you drafted two
linebackers in the first four rounds, you won because tackles
were worth essentially a touchdown. It's like, I gotta get
score to a thousand points a middle linebacker? Look at

(16:52):
what is that? Home games? He scores even more?

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Who went first to your draft?

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Say?

Speaker 4 (16:57):
Ou just a big Chargers fan?

Speaker 3 (17:01):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Scoring? But it's the old adage of hey, make sure
you read the rules before you d to the draft
from and your commissioner may have done something.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Dumb showing up at work and you're all pissed off,
like what's wrong? He's like I played against Patrick Willis
this week, didn't you see?

Speaker 1 (17:19):
No?

Speaker 3 (17:19):
I didn't.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
He had fourteen tackles.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
Had forced bumble at the was worth ten boys man this.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Is a good story. We should have been rolling on it.
Unfortunately I'm recorded. Oh all right, guess what you're getting here.
We can figure out a way to put that in
the podcast. Yeah, all right, Now we'll come back with
our NFC predictions. Yeah, we thought we ended the AFC
and then we just started shooting the bull and it
was kind of funny, so we just left it in.
Why not, You know, we can do that. It's our podcast.

(17:52):
Who cares. It's not like the podcast officials are going to,
you know, throw a fifteen yard penalty on us.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
Let's talk about the NFC very top heavy in terms
of when we look at prediction wise, people feel that
the Eagles and the Niners are the class of the
National Football Conference.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Is there something we're missing, Mike in the NFC?

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Well, I think you've got a little bit of cannibalization
that comes into play, right, everybody throws the South away.
There's a little bit of excitement about jacked up Derek
Carr and the Saints, but otherwise it's just gonna push
it off, right. Young quarterbacks, retread quarterbacks? What is Baker
Mayfield in this iteration? Does he hold off Kyle Trask forever,

(18:33):
So you know, a little bit of love just saying,
all right, they're gonna win the division, which gives them
a puncher's chance going forward the North. Everybody's on board
Campbell and the Lions. Right, it's suddenly become the overweighted.
But I don't hear a lot of it of Hey,
they're going to make a deep run. It's like, all right,
they'll beat the best of these also rans in the division,

(18:56):
and then it gets thrown off. And you mentioned the Eagles.
I don't know that it's going to be necessarily as easy.
New coordinator shuffle up a little bit division wise, Commanders
is going to be good enough just to screw with folks. Right,
we look at it from a fantasy perspective. You got
multiple viable guys in there. Whether the quarterback is I

(19:16):
don't know, but those numbers are coming from somewhere. Right,
when we look at the wide receivers, tight end, running
back position and the Giants, they might screw around and
be a little better in that passing game too. Right,
A bunch of fortification and if Barkley stays healthy, Daniel
Jones got paid. Now it's sound to go produce, So

(19:38):
you know, I would hold off on the old you know,
you want to crown them, crown them. I won't. I
won't because I think there's a bit of a letdown
in the City of Brotherly Love. And it's not because
of James Harden or any of those guys that normally
fail come basketball season.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Yeah, I'm right there with you and versus you can
hop in. And I don't feel the Eagles either. I
feel like we overhype them. We forget their head coach
had to have their quarterback Tom to shut up during
the Super Bowl because he was mouthing off to the
other team. Like the adult in the room is Jalen Hurts. Yeah,
and as you said, coordinator's gone got changes there. And

(20:16):
again everybody's praising them for drafting Jalen Carter. There's a
reason he felled the ninth right, you know, like like
like it's it's not that Howie Roseman is Harry Potter.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
You know.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
So I just yeah, I'm with you. I'm not drinking
the Eagles kool aid. And you'll see why a little
bit later on.

Speaker 5 (20:33):
Yeah, I think what's super interesting and what people forget
about the NFC East is and maybe this is also
a testament to just how good the Eagles were last season.
The Commanders were fourth in the NFC East and finished
eight eight and one. No team finished below five hundred
in that division.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
And there's no back to back winners of the division
and whatever as long as Bursch has been alive.

Speaker 5 (20:54):
Yeah, exactly, that's right. So I think that looking at
the Eagles, I think it does feel like there will
be that sort of step back, just offensively because of
the new changes to the system. Also, like Mike you
mentioned the Commanders, I am praying because of the amount

(21:14):
of shares I have in this guy, Eric B. Enemy,
what you did with Jack McKinnon over the last like
two months of the season last year, and Antonio Gibson
is better than that guy. Just do that with him
for the entire season, Like please. I'm seriously excited because
I think that the Commanders have very intriguing offensive pieces.
With Eric V Enemy now in town, these guys could

(21:37):
put up legit numbers. But looking at that division as
a whole, I don't want to jump a little too
far ahead, but I'm rather high on the Cowboys, and
I think the only thing that feels weird about that
is just saying the sentence, I'm rather high on the
Dallas Cowboys. But quite frankly, if we take emotion out
of it and look at things logically, that defense is

(21:58):
incredibly stacked. The offense, yes, you don't have Kellen Moore
there anymore, but you have these pieces that have been
in place for a couple of years. Brandon Cooks, who
we've mentioned many times on this podcast. Yeah, he took
a step back last season in terms of his consistency,
but now you're putting him on a better offense, like
he could very well produce in that offense. And Tony Pollard,

(22:21):
I feel like, is the most kind of overlooked stud
line stud running back in fantasy. Just the numbers he
put up last season, and now with Zeke not taking
away those goal line carries, I'm not scared of Malik
Davis or Deuce Vaughan taking those from him. He's going
to have so much work his numbers are going to
be phenomenal. I Yeah, I'm rather high on the Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
I'm just worried if his body holds up.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
Dan.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
When it comes to Tony Pollard, that's my only reservation
is is he a guy that should top out at
fifteen touches or can you really run him for twenty
five a game, run and catch and get him through
a season.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
I know this isn't fair. I just don't know if
I trust Mike McCarthy fair.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
I mean, you know, like definitely fair. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
That's been a long time since he won a title,
the right and he is under the thumb of the Joneses.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
Yeah, so that's that would be my you know, my trepidation,
if you will. I like the Giants. I love the
Giants like there is something about the nature of that team,
and I know this is there's not data being right
now the second team in that city for a team
that sure feels like they, you know, have a chip

(23:39):
on their shoulder and something to prove. Getting their butts
kicked by the Eagles and divisional playoff game I think
could be the best thing for them. Even though Saquon
kind of got his boost, Daniel Jones got his contract,
I'm picking the Giants to win the NFC East this year.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Yeah, I don't know, you.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
I think there's a vibe about them and with with Dable,
So yeah, I'm loading up on the Giants, maybe even
more than you'd.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
Expect you know, Dan, it kind of plays out and
you know, we do these things, these narratives year to year.
It's kind of like Miami under Flores. Now that that
ended oddly, I think when it all comes down to it,
but you had a team that wanted to play for him,
right and at times it looked like, you know, they're

(24:25):
overmatched if you went you know, roster to roster and overachieved,
but they actually wanted to play. And that's the thing
you have with the Giants that I don't think should
be taken for granted, that you Dable gets the best
out of these guys, and that there's and now with
Aaron Rodgers and all of that attention. Yeah, you want
to talk about being salty, and you're being you know,

(24:47):
everybody's mocking what you did with your quarterback room or
the fact that you were able to shake a few
nickels out for Sakuon Barkley. You know, all of those things.
It's kind of dismissed. And the Cowboys and the Eagles
are the ones getting all the ink in division, you know,
right rightly wrongly for some of it. So sure, yeah,
I'm on board with you.

Speaker 5 (25:07):
And from a fantasy perspective, I am biting hard at
the Darren Waller hype. I'm I'm fully on board because
Daniel Jones doesn't hasn't had a target as good as
Darren Wahler sure in his time there, and if anybody's
going to know how to use him in this offense
as Brian Dable, there are you know, beat reporters making

(25:29):
jokes about the fact that they would take Darren Waller
off the field just to force Daniel Jones to throw
to other people in practice, like he's getting that level
of work and it's the hype is very real. So
uh yeah, I've been I've been trying to get shares
of Darren Waller, but I think other people are also
catching onto that hype, so I haven't enabled to as much.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
So you're trying to tell me that my late ron
pick of Isaiah Hodgens may not be as well or
as well received.

Speaker 4 (25:53):
I think it goes back to what we're saying with
the with the Ravens. Someone has to emerge. Yeah, a
hero comes all. I'll just keep running through song titles.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
As much as I love my Seahawks, the only thing
that helps them is that I don't think the Rams
and Cardinals are competing to win this Seasoniams.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
May Sanders, whoever becomes.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
They're in there. Yeah, they're in their own things.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
So I think it's a two team race in the NFC,
and I think it's gonna be tough to overtake San Francisco.
But when you look at the NFC West, I think
it's a two team race. It's the other two divisions
that also then make heavy scratching your head, you know,
is the Detroit love affair too much? And in the
NFC South, I have seen every single team pick to

(26:40):
win that division by at least somebody else in the media.
So there's nothing that's going to be original from that division.
But it just means you're not gonna have as many
people on your side because it's all over the map.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
In the NFC South, Yeah, no overweighting. Certainly in the South. Well,
let's go to the North. I'm gonna take the Packers
to still win the division and gives me a thumbs
up like I was doing it to Curry favor with him. Look,
the Lions are the Lions until proven otherwise. I may
like it on paper, but in the end, I still

(27:11):
got to get through seventeen weeks. The Bears, they've got
no choice but to be better. But what does that
mean from a wins loss perspective? I'm excited to see,
you know, be in the South Side Chicago and that
I am. What goes on with Dj Moore, a guy
we've talked about on these podcasts for so much, saying hey,
get him a quarterback? Well, we Justin Field used to

(27:33):
be able to throw the ball a lot. So people
that have decided to kick him to the curb saying
he can't. It's like, how about you get him someone
that can catch it? You know, just one guy, one
one and there he is. And Captain Kirk and company
in Minnesota. Man, we like Alexander Madison because we can
go to the Lin Manuel Miranda thing and do some
punny songs. And we love Justin Jefferson. Are they good enough?

(27:56):
Are they back somewhere in between the one score losses
under zimmer to all the one score wins last year?
Does that settle out in the middle. I'll take the
Packers the run game, a defense that'll be better, and
Jordan Love doesn't have to be spectacular.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
Are you with that? Mister Green Bay Packer fan?

Speaker 5 (28:14):
Ryan Berschinger, I actually am and this is how I
Harmon summed it up perfectly. If Jordan Love is just good,
like he doesn't need to be great like if he's
if he's pretty good, this team can easily win ten
eleven games, like like, I fully believe that, So I'm
I'm buying in well.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
I would say this burst last year the best thing
that could happen to the Packers. And the national media
knows what they think they know. The even local media
knows what they think they know. Aaron Rodgers being on
is ayahuasca retrieves darkness rooms, whatever else the best thing
he wasn't around. Yeah, so Jordan Love got all the work. Yeah,
so those young receivers while it took time to get

(28:55):
used to Rogers and you saw what they were able
to do in the second half, Jordan Love got some
of that last year to help build towards this starting job.

Speaker 5 (29:04):
I love it and I've taken a lot of shares
of Romeo Dobbs because I'm able to get him pretty late.
And if he's the second wide receiver in an offense
that is able to move the ball pretty effectively, there's
tremendous value. If you're taking Romeo Dobbs at like the
twelve thirteenth round. That's that's great. In terms of the West, yeah,
I would take the Niners to win the West. I
think the Saints are going to be better than people think.

(29:26):
I'm actually I'll ride their defense in that d Yeah,
and I do feel like Derek Carr as a quarterback
in that offense is going to work pretty well. They
don't have quite the skill players that they once did,
but I'm still buying that that team well enough because
I think that the rest of the division, like, there's

(29:48):
a lot of very intriguing pieces around the rest of
the division. I also can kind of see. I feel
like the Buccaneers are going to be terrible. I think
that they might be.

Speaker 4 (29:59):
Is Mike I was traded before Week six, Probably there's
your extra bonus question.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
Yes, let's let's do it. Let's let's ship him off,
Let's let's see what happens there. But yeah, so I
think that those are my and I would have I
would still have the Eagles winning the East, but I
would have the Cowboys winning the wild Card and one
of them.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
Yeah, Giants, Packers, Saints, and I love me some Gino
Smith in that receiving corps in the run game, I
can't go away from it. Rock Purty slash Sam Darnold
and you know George Kittle, Will he be healthy? Will
McCaffrey stand hid? I got too much history of injuries
and this is a guy that took McCaffrey first overall.

(30:42):
And as soon as I hit send, it was the like,
I hope everybody else has their iPhone updated so I
can under send a message. Unfortunately, in a draft room, guys,
I can't. So that's where I sit here in that
particular league. So that's the thing that worries most about
forty nine ers. I think you'll get better returns from
Deebo than you did a year ago. And Ayuk has

(31:04):
shown to be a star. But help for Kittle and McCaffrey.
And at some point the quarterback luck has to run out,
doesn't it.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
Well, it depends.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
It depends on how much you think their quarterbacks are valued,
you know what I mean? Like, yeah, if you think
that party is the jackpot winner, yes, but if you
think Purty is average, I would say no.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Or if he just fits that.

Speaker 4 (31:33):
Scheme, well, and that's just it, right? Does he have
to be just good enough.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Yes, and I think he does. I actually think there's
value in brock Purty in fantasy.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
No would agree with that, you know, yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Like I I actually where he's going in certain spots.
I'm like, hmm, you know that's that's interesting. I just
I just think that they're the Seahawks may beat them
in a game that they play, they played them.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
For a half.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
It's just I think that the Seahawks just have more
overall question marks where they're not going to win a
game that they should have won, and that usually doesn't
happen with San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
That's why I give him the edge. I told you
picking the Giants.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
In the NFC East, I'll make it a three way deal,
a hat trick with the Packers, I agree.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
And in the NFC South, I'm going with the Falcons.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
Nice you know, either they acquired Jeff Acuda, who didn't
work out in Detroit, Galles Campbell's there, but Dupriest in Atlanta,
like there's you try to do different things, and in
what is a crapshoot of a division, why not I.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
Feel take the crappiest of the crap.

Speaker 4 (32:39):
Shoots, run the ball, play defense, Ritters not. I mean,
he's got a couple of great weapons there. Yeah, right,
like it if pitts his healthy. Bjohn Robinson comes in
and we've all talked about him and and the argument
of where he is in that top five, that upper
rechalant of running backs, right, so why not.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
Derek Carr's the best courts are back in that division
right now, right now, right now. But yeah, you know
it could change at the end of the year. But
that also then tells you what the ceiling is. It's
not that high.

Speaker 4 (33:07):
So Brian Kelly got his ass kicked this week? Does
that mean Derek Carr gets to adopt the Louisiana accent?
You're Florida state. Florida State just kicked that right out
of Brian Kelly.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
Man, that was a rough one for them, I'll tell
you that much him.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Dabo, Yeah, Harmon's been loving the dabble loss for hours.

Speaker 4 (33:35):
Well, all right, when you say, hey, as soon as
the money starts flowing, I'm gonna quit. Yeah, you're still
cashing your checks. I mean come on now.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
All right, super Bowl NFC picks. Who do you guys
got coming out of the NFC?

Speaker 5 (33:48):
Well, I kind of alluded to it. I am taking
the Cowboys to come out of the NFC, which would
then put I guess apparently I have my picks as
two wild card teams going to the Super Bowl, So
why not let's truly get wild. I will take the
Cowboys to go to the end to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
I am all for that. I like that. I like
the boldness of it, because, like the national media will,
it's hair on fire if the Cowboys are there and
we roll into January. Likewise, I'm going to take the Giants,
all right. We'll get a healthy dose of Eli Manning
smiling from ear to ear and being a smart alec.

(34:28):
But I'm a big Brian Dable believer, and I think
he's got enough for this team to get over the top.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
I like the Giants making it to the NFC Championship game,
but I just can't go against the forty nine ers.
So for the third time, we're going to see eight
Niners Bengals super Bowl. In my mind, there you go,
super Bowl fifty eight, all right, So then who wins
it all? Will wrap it up that way? Burst in
your Super Bowl? Who's winning it?

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Jerry?

Speaker 5 (34:55):
You get one?

Speaker 4 (34:56):
Here you go, there you go.

Speaker 5 (34:58):
You celebrate the Dallas Cowboys to win the Super Bowl.
I'm saying that on a podcast. That's all right, cool,
that's there. It is there.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
It is.

Speaker 5 (35:06):
Put that out there.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
And I'll take a deep breath and I'll say, all right,
the Giants win it.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
Wow, So you got so you got the Cowboys over
the Chargers first, Yes, harmony of the Giants over the
jaguarsars yep. And I'll take the Bengals over the Niners. Yeah,
let's go that way. I don't want to pick the
forty nine ers to win. It's good Joe Burrow ring
number one. There it is our predictions for the twenty
