Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies, you want experience during your football season, We'll buckle up,
sweet cheeks. All We've got all the experience in the world.
This is I want your flex with Dan Bayer and
Mike Harmon. Mike and Dan break down everything you need
to set your lineups, from position rankings.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
To starts and sits.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
The guys help you make those hard decisions. And now
let's get your flex on. Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
It is I want your flex. Hi, Mike, I'm at Swallendome.
You good find me at Dan Byer on Fox. Our
executive producer is Ian Roddy. What we do like to
do is we do like to touch on Monday Night
a little bit Monday Night, and we three gave us
two games to talk about, and we can talk about
all four teams, Fike, but I'm not sure there's much
to talk about fantasy wise with the Jacksonville Jaguars right now,
(00:56):
except maybe just don't play those guys. A rough Monday
Night for Jacksonville. However, Buffalo, Washington and Cincinnati, even with
the Bengals loss, still were able to produce a bunch
of points for fantasy teams in Week.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Three, Boys it's awful hard to even argue better than
a flex for Travis etn right now for anybody else, No,
it's no fly. I guess maybe once having Ingram is
cleared once again question Mark, that we can get them
back in. But otherwise, you know a bevy of scoring opportunities.
Jayden Daniels was fantastic. We've seen him do it with
(01:29):
his legs. Now you get a what they they called
the thick six man. I'm old and I'm fat. I
still called it the fat guy touchdown and I was
shining on air by Jason Smith. You know it is
what it is. A guy got the score. That's the
first touchdown pass of his career. I mean, it'll be memorable.
And then the second drops it in the bucket to
(01:50):
Terry McLaurin and you smile and go, oh, this is
gonna be fun. So all of a sudden fantasy relevance
creeps in there, and you feel more secure in that game.
On the other two game two teams to look at,
you feel better about where Buffalo is headed. Still beyond Shakir,
(02:10):
gonna be tough to start and Kincaid it's still stuffed,
tough to get any of those receivers in and say, hey,
third wide receiver unless you're dealing with injury and buy
concerns just yet, but positive James Cook once again with
a big game for Cincinnati. They get t Higgins back
on the field and puts up numbers Jamar Chase. Obviously,
(02:34):
I think for most folks they got to breathe easy
after that forty one yard touchdown reception and then you
get the gift of a late Zach Moss touchdown, much
to the chagrin of our own Steve de Seger, who
I watched die a little bit at the news desk
at Fox Sports Radio during my show with Jason Smith
(02:55):
when that he crossed into the goal line and that
well sealed Steve's fate.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
I've in that league. I'm in that league. I didn't realize.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
I wish I recorded the response. I've never seen him
so animated about something that wasn't just a cool stat
pole that he found or something so unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
It broke a lot of people's hearts. I'll tell you
what if games went down to the wire in that
Commander's Bengals game and you had guys left. It reminded
me a little bit of last week with the Eagles
and Falcons just you know, cranked up about two or
three notches that you're like, okay, all right, we could
maybe survive here. Maybe maybe t Higgins get some action,
(03:36):
maybe Jamar Chase that gets in the end zone for
a third time. And in all the differen scenarios that
could have played out, and in the end that Zach
Moss with the one yard touchdown run to seal Steve's fates.
But the other side of that is whoever Steve played,
because I don't actually know the guy in the other league, Hey,
boom for him, boom for anybody that did have. Zach
(03:56):
Moss made it payoff on Monday night.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Well, and that was the one thing I guess encouraging
for Cincinnati is that they were able to run the
football better. And obviously that's a nice little icing on
the cake kind of thing for the touchdown, But they
struggled terribly. You only had the Raiders and the Bears
really worse in terms of rushing efforts, and then the
Cowboys are in a whole other category under themselves at
(04:21):
this point from the run game. But for Zach Moss,
Chase Brown, maybe you see a little side of better
day now that you get t Higgins back in there,
so the offense gets a little more complex.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
You know. It is funny because I think you've brought
this up on one of our podcasts, but it may
be something to look at. Jayden Daniels was great on
Monday Night, and people were raving about Jayden Daniels and
they should, but I think you also have to look
at what the Bengals defense didn't do. Lou Ana Roumo's
(04:53):
defense in Cincinnati is with something I think you pointed
out maybe a week or so ago and just saying,
all right, what's going on here? Jadan Daniels is basically untouched.
There was I think one sack and then even when
they got the sack, they were somehow not bailed out,
but they were able to move the chains because neither
(05:13):
team punted on Monday Night. But the point is is
if the Bengals are going to play that kind of defense,
maybe you want to play guys that are going up
against Cincinnati right now, because they did not put any
pressure on Jayden Daniels.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Tell you what Kingsbury with pitched a masterpiece here. I mean,
the biggest hit they got on Daniels was when he
uncorked the touchdown pass to McLaurin. Sure I took a
hit there, Otherwise twenty one of twenty three clean pocket.
I know the stat that we talked about all night
with Steve was, you know, since nineteen forty no games
(05:44):
with no punts and no turnovers, So clean sheet in
that regard. But for the Cincinnati defense, that was going
to be the hallmark while the offense got back together,
and it's been disastrous through three weeks, and you watched
a rookie absolutely ca them up.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
I do like t Higgins getting back in so if
anybody had any reservations about that, but still it's it's
not the it's not the even work load that maybe
you would see. And I know I'm dating myself, but
it's it's not an Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, or even
a Marvin Harrison Reggie Wayne, where I thought Harrison was
(06:22):
ahead of Wayne when they were together, but still Reggie
Wayne would get his numbers. It's a good one two punch,
but Jamar Chase is clearly the one. The positive is
that t Higgins did see action, did see targets, didn't
seem to have any ramifications from that hamstring that kept
him out for two weeks, So likely you could continue
to play T Higgins moving forward. Just remember your expectations
(06:45):
for when you drafted T Higgins because that's not going
to change.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
See, I thought you were going to dial up a
little o cho versus hoosh.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Oh that would have been Yeah. I felt like Hush
was more of the possession guy.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
No, you're right, I agree. So although if he hears this,
he may come down the hall and find us, you know,
our teammate here at Fox Sports Radio. But you know,
just look, that was a fun game to watch. The
other one was the disaster. If you're a Bills fan,
you enjoyed every minute of it. If you had any
stake in the Jaguars or their success or believe that
(07:19):
Doug Peterson was finally going to right the ship it's sunk.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Yeah, it was not good, and it reminded me of well,
things weren't ending good in Philadelphia anyway when when he
was there. Maybe this is the road that it ends
up taking.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
I tell you it is right now. A disaster. Can't
wait to talk to our guy, Bucky Brooks on Sunday morning.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Well, kudos to you for having Josh Allen as your
top quarterback. I don't think that you thought that he
would do just no, basically most of it. The first thing.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
No, what two passing attempts in the second half.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Yeah, yeah, so unbelievable. And even along those lines of
the of the Bengals losing, Joe Burrow still through for
three twenty four, had the three touchdowns. He was your
third rank quarterback of the week.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Yeah, pretty impressive finish for him. Almost had a two
point conversion as well. But we watched a defender rip
t Higgins's arm away from the football.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Props to Ian Roddy. You had Packers streaming defense our
executive producer.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Yes I did.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Yeah. Yeah, so Ian couldn't find headphones at the start
of the podcast, and now we know why because he
could not wait to Peacock about this Green Bay Packers
streaming defense. Nice game against the Tennessee Titans.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
Yeah, we're looking good there. We're two for three because
we had the hiccup with the Philly defense in week two.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
But well, who's you got facing Will Levis that you're
picking this week?
Speaker 4 (08:39):
Yeah, exactly right. We're just gonna chase that matchup. We're
just chasing it, which corner been winning strategy.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
Honestly, Hey, they go to Miami to face the Dolphins
who have their own issues.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
Oh wow, there you go there, We might have might
have to pivot to a new strategy this time.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
We'll see my joke on the third platform that I'll
tell this on because I said it Sunday and I
said it on on Doug Gottlieb Show. Let's see volunteers
Hurricanes instead of Titans and Dolphins on Monday Night. I
think I think the college matchup of Tennessee against Miami
would be much better than the professional matchup that we
would get.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
Both of them look great this year.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
It'd be interesting, yeah, sure, and the one team in
Florida getting it done be better.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Football, yes, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Fortunately we do have Seattle Detroit that'll spare us for
having to spend too much time on Tennessee Miami.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
It also helps too for me because of the Sunday
show that we do at Fox. When the Seahawks playing
their normal late afternoon window, I'm not able to watch
them as much. And now Monday night I wouldn't even
be focusing on the Dolphins and Titans as much. I'd
be locked in on that Seahawks game, So I'm I'm
(09:45):
happy that the other game is a stinker instead of
a musty match.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
There you go thirty seven and a half the over
under for that one, forty six and a half for
Seattle Detroit Detroit minus four.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
And there's going to be some sail aport by the
way day to day. According to Dan Campbell and the
Monday update, I do have to I do have to
pat myself on the back. I served my one game
suspension for Survivor Pool, and I'm so glad because I
would have gotten it wrong again this week, no matter
who I would have likely picked on this podcast, because
the Raiders, the Bengals, the Buccaneers, Browns, all of those
(10:19):
teams went up in flames.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
Now, Dan, when you don't give a pick, that's when
you need to say you would have been right, no
matter fair enough.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
I had the Giants winning pick.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
I believed in Malik Willis the whole time Packers going
to the Tennessee. I will say I did what I did,
get right. I got our points of pollutes are right
because I said it was Commander's Bengals and that's.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Why they want everything they wanted.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
Yeah, absolutely absolutely.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
I'll take the mini victory on Zach Charboney Juwan Jennings.
But I think, you know, kind of as a last
man standing, which is really all he is in San Francisco.
Now can he quarterback two? If brock Perdy can't go,
I don't even know, throw the all to himself like
bugs Bunny all those years ago. Opportunity doth knock. So yeah, creative,
creative times here in week four for Fantasy owners.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
And I will also say I did tell you in
my oasis pick Caleb Williams. Now, I know it wasn't
how you would have hoped you would have gotten the
game that he had, Mike, But for Fantasy wise, when
you can throw for three sixty three and two touchdowns,
that's gonna pay off for you. No, it's it, and
he ended up paying off.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
I could do a four hour monologue. You guys can
go take a nap on that game and all the
trials and tribulations. I tried to do it with Smith
and he kept looking at me like I'm nuts, Like, hey,
it's my show too, I'm gonna I'm gonna commandeer this
ten minutes to scream about the bread. No, I didn't
do it, so maybe I'll have to do it on
my Instagram or something. But now, hey, first two touchdown passes.
(11:49):
Welcome to that part of the next phase. Now it's
about cleaning everything else up.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
Tell you what Mike told you that CJ. Stroud would
not have the game that you would like in Minnesota.
He was a cold sore for Week three that ended
up paying off. Brandon Iuke ten targets but only five
receptions forty eight yards, didn't get into the end zone.
Juwan Jennings is the one that did the damage. Mike
had Brandon Niyuk as a cold soar, you had Derrick
(12:16):
Henry Saquon Barkley in your top fives for running backs,
and boy, Barkley's just been amazing so far these first
three weeks of the season. So yeah, so there there
have been there have been some some hits that we've
been able to slide in. You haven't had Adam Thielen
as a ninja play and feeling getting into the end
(12:36):
zone for the pan and.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Then he got hurt. It's like, damn it. That would
have been a guy, you know, to lead waiver wires
for this coming week of you know, opportunity with the
veteran quarterback under center, and we talked about the potential
for a little bit of a boost from Andy Dalton
and could not have anticipated what he ended up giving.
So folks in Daily's, you know, Daily Fantasy with the
(12:58):
low ownership saying it's give it a shot, boy, it
paid off in big ways or pick six or whatever
contest you're playing on a Sunday, man, that was one
piece of work from a guy with zero expectations but
still thirty eight thousand passing yards in the NFL came
in like he knew the offense like the back of
(13:19):
his hand.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Mike did tell you also, as I mentioned, Juwan Jennings
kind of ruined the surprise there, but Juwan Jennings was
one of Mike ninjas for the week as well, and
he came through in the clutch with those three touchdowns
and that one hundred yards. There we go, good week
all around fantasy wise for Week three. Let's keep it
going for week four. He is Mike Harmon, that's he
(13:42):
and Roddy. I'm Dan Beyer coming up next. Mike is
going to give us a little bit more information about
his beloved Chicago Bears. And when do we start to
cut bait on some of these guys not only in
Chicago but also around the National Football League. That's next
year and I want your flex. We are three weeks
in to the NFL season. Hit Mic up at Swallendome.
(14:02):
You can find me at Dan Byer on Fox. The
show's executive producer is Ian Roddy. You can find him
at Ian Roddy Underscore Mike. We are three weeks in.
It still feels early, but maybe not that early where
we can now start to make some real decisions about
certain guys. We've got three examples for most players throughout
(14:22):
the National Football League. Who you want to ride with,
who you don't want to ride with? We did touch
on the Bears. Let's start on your Bears because we
were just talking about Caleb Williams great game, But then
there's the pieces around him. Dj Moore, DeAndre Swift, Roma Dunja,
a lot of pieces in Chicago, a lot of name
(14:42):
value fantasy wise. Who do you like who you don't
like in your beloved Chicago Bears?
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Yeah, I mean Dj Moore is still going to see
his sheriff targets and that'll get better. It'll be curious
to see how much different the offense operates once you
get Keenan Allen actually back on a field. Sorry, I'm
sitting here talking to you guys, and there more updates
and highlights from the Bears and Colts, and it started
to make me shiver a little bit. So, you know
that that cold, cold, like midnight you're walking through a
(15:10):
cemetery kind of feel with some of the stupidity that
I saw on Sunday, But it was good that Waldron realized, hey,
cold comet, this guy's pretty good and we maybe not blocking,
but he didn't get any help from Marcedes Lewis on
the play that everybody wants to to iso. But you know,
all of a sudden, he's back in the mix and
(15:30):
at the tight end position. We've talked about how many
injuries there have been in low performances thus far, you know,
a huge week three and suddenly you know you're looking
at a guy who's number four amongst tight ends and
he'd done virtually nothing in the first two weeks. Right, So,
so I mean, that's just how weird it is. Isaiah
(15:51):
likely is still number two. Guess what he did all
of thathingya this week? Right, so you know, you just
go on down the line that you have the these circumstances,
and that's in standard leagues. PPR leagues a little bit
of a different tale. Got it up tot and that
makes comet number three because of his monster week week
(16:11):
three season. But it's just you know, just volatility there.
DeAndre Swift shouldn't a shouldn't see the field again, but
certainly not your fantasy lineup. You can't cut them all
together because he's still gonna see a workload. So it's
either all right except whatever trade offers come through, you know,
like the Panthers say they're getting for Bryce Young and
(16:32):
just let let someone else buy at the absolute low,
or he gets relegated to the bench because maybe he
does have the game where he pops one to the outside,
finds some daylight and has a positive fantasy day and
then you can sell, sell, sell, like you're a used
car salesman or a guy trying to sell your gold
at midnight on insert cable channel here. So all of
(16:53):
that to say, I think I'd be looking at the
waiver wire. Eventually they're gonna realize that Rashaun Johnson since
the guy that should be carrying the ball and he'll
start to get a play. So perhaps you can go
by low with your fab or if you're just going
in your waiver wire priority this week, that.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
Way, I'll give you another name that on the opposite
sidelines for what the Bears had on Sunday. Michael Pittman
Junior just does not seem to be any factor for
the Indianapolis Colts. Correct even if he does have a game, Mic,
I don't think that you can. I don't think you
could count on him consistently being that guy with Anthony
Richardson as your quarterback.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
And that's the difficult part is the Anthony Richardson part
of it is he was awful for the vast majority
of Sunday. And we've talked about it the last couple
of weeks. Guys, it's he's got a couple of big
boom plays. I mean, Jalen Johnson was absolutely incensed at
himself that guy getting open on me when on the
(17:53):
big play to Alec Pierce, Like that guy and the
report is like did I ask the wrong questions? Like No,
he's mad at himself that Alex Pierce got a forty
four yard completion against him. That he lost him in coverage.
So yeah, you're gonna have a couple of big hitters
and he's gonna run for some yards and he's gonna
carry the ball around the goal line. But for all
(18:15):
of the plays, it's gonna be tough. Like Pittman was
a guy I had great hope for thinking you'd see
a step forward from from Richardson and maybe you'd have
some short and intermediate gains. And I know Pittman was
on the the injury list whatever, but he plays, uh
and he's he seems he's gonna be just a guy.
(18:36):
I mean, he's gonna be a WR three at best.
Maybe he pops once in a while, but expecting any
level of consistency, I wouldn't do it in this offense.
Basically Taylor. And if you need a boom bust option
at quarterback because your guy got hurt or it's a
bye week.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Yeah they're They're how Jonathan Taylor played against Chicago's that
think the way that the Colts would love to have
it every single week if they could. Yeah, it's a
one hundred yards two touchdowns, and fantasy owners would want
that as well. I'm going to throw another name out there,
that maybe isn't high on the radar, but I'm going
to equate it to Kevin Durant leaving the Thunder and
joining the Warriors. Somebody had to take a hit at
(19:13):
Golden State. Somebody was not going to get as many shots,
Somebody was not going to score as many points. And
maybe it was felt all around when Kevin Durant, but
somebody was going to take the brunt of it. And
I feel that's the case in Houston. With Stefan Diggs
now there and the relationship and the best buddies of CJ.
Stroud and Tank Dell, I felt that one I had
high hopes for Tank Dell. I have shares in Tank
(19:35):
Dell and dinged up a little bit. Had to drop
in Week two against your bears Mic in that contest,
but ended up picking up some garbage time just to
get his five catches for around sixty nine yards. In
the game against Minnesota, you clearly see Stefan Diggs and
Nico Collins being the one two, especially in their target chair.
(19:57):
So I was high on Tank Dell coming into the season,
even with the addition to Stefon Diggs, and I've been
proven wrong.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Boy, it's tough, right, I mean right now ranked he's
tied for fifty seventh with Ray Ray McLeod wow sez
total of an aggregate of twenty two points. Obviously a
little different scoring league to scoring league whatever, But you're
you're looking at a guy, you know, CJ. Stroud, trying
to feed and obviously with Joe Mixon not available again,
(20:26):
the hip drop tackle, the abomination that he got hurt
on during that game against the Bears, that offense did
move the same way, did not have the same balance,
and for CJ. Stroud, a tough day. I wasn't expecting
a great day against Flores's defense, but I expected more
than I got. Yeah, certainly for Tank Dell, you know,
(20:47):
look how much of a factory was before he got
hurt last year. And I know you bring in Stefan
Diggs and part of the game plan has to be
all right, look at his last two stops. What's the
commonality If you don't feed him early and often, he
gets poudy. So that's gonna change up how you do things,
and it's gonna be to the detriment of the offense.
And certainly Tank Dell's numbers. But for CJ. Stroud. If
(21:10):
that's got to be part of them going into games,
I fear that it takes away some of the feel
good momentum that they had building coming off a great
twenty three.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
The Miami Dolphins are a complete mess right now because
of their quarterback position. Skyler Thompson now is dealing with
a chest injury. So you could see Tim Boyle or
Tyler Huntley playing in that Monday night game against the
Titans that we were making fun of earlier. Not making
fun of the injuries by any means, but there were
a lot of Dolphins players drafted. Tyreek Hills first round
(21:44):
pick Jayalen Waddall was taking on Devon ah chan Is
a guy that was taken high as well. They have
been unable to produce. Would now be a time you
would look to acquire those guys in case two it
does come back, in case they make a move at quarterback,
or you're just gonna have to right this out and
keep them on the bench. How do you handle this
Dolphins situation?
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Yeah, I think we're looking at I mean, look, with
Tyreek Hill, it's still the one play a game, right
We're going the old Barry Sanders route one one zero
zero eighty in a touchdown, So you're still hoping for
the big hit, but you know, expecting some seven catch,
hundred yard day. I wouldn't be banking on that regardless
(22:24):
of at least with the guys currently on the roster
to curious to see what the decision is once the
initial four week period on IR is up. But yeah,
I would not preclude. You know, think for a second
that they're not kicking every can, looking under every rock
to try to find a solution. The fact that other
(22:44):
quarterbacks around the league keep getting hurt is not helping
their case at all to go find an easy trade
partner and a solution there. But I think Waddle becomes
a WR three, maybe out of your line it, depending
on your depth with Hill slide him down to probably
a back end too at this point, still in your lineup.
(23:07):
I agree, still in your lineup, but a lot of
wishing and hoping rather than expectation. And if I'm in
the marketplace, yeah, I'd go softball and offer, hey, how
badly is your how bad is your running back room?
Here's my guy that gets six touches in a game.
Still better than what you're getting from TYREEG yeah, right,
(23:27):
it's a big cell job, but yeah, I'd buy low.
I mean, the opportunity down the line could be there
for a big game.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
There's just a lot of there were a lot of
draft equity put in the Miami Dolphins with Wattle Hill and.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
Eight Chan and Moster gets hurt.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Yeah, yeah, he was a seventh eighth round guy around
in that area. But yeah, you're right, he's been dinged
up and it's just his I I had Ryan Burschinger,
the former executive producer of this podcast, asked me today
should I trade Tyreek Hill from Elak Neighbors? And I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah,
(24:06):
yeah you should, and he goes, I was thinking about
making that offer, and then he goes, I never thought
that the other person would probably not want to do it,
but he's like, yeah, they probably wouldn't. Yeah, you're exactly right,
there's no way, especially with what Neighbors has been doing.
But I just think I'd be surprised at some of
the deals that you could get done for Tyreek Hill.
Right now.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Oh the frustration effect and just you don't want the
headache of hey am I getting seven points out of
this spot? Not hey am I getting fifteen out of
my WR one slot because we always had a hope.
What's the benchmark for a WR three in sleeper win, right,
the Ninja win is we get ten points, right, five
and fifty? Yeah, and then we moved from there. That's
(24:46):
kind of what you're hoping from Tyreek Hill at this point,
and maybe the big pop once in a while from
Elite neighbors. He's on pace to set a new record
for targets and that's with all of the denigration and
downplaying of Daniel Jones in company. And they've got a
very interesting date with the Cowboys coming up.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Yeah, that'll be a Thursday night. I came in New York.
I'll say this. For as bad as it was Week
one with the Giants and then how things fell apart
without their kicking game in week two. They're one and
two right now. But what we saw on full display
in Hard Knocks off season has been such a storyline
(25:27):
this season in a good and a bad way for
the Giants. The bad way is obvious on how good
Saquon Barkley's been for Philadelphia. So that makes Joe Shane
and in the front office, especially Joe Shane look foolish
for not wanting to keep Saquon Barkley around. But boy,
the Molik neighbors and just Joe Shane saying like, we're
gonna pay Daniel Jones forty million, let's give him a
(25:49):
weapon to that point with the targets, so far, he's
paid off. And I love what he said when they
asked if his performance made up for his drop in
Week two that he had on fourth down. He's like, no,
I'm still taking about that. I love that attitude, but
it's just it's giving you such an insight with the
New York.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
Giants, Well, look, with the margins in the NFL, right,
one drop, one play means a win, and especially when
you're playing in a fish bowl like that. I mean
you see the commentary. I mean you and I and
Ian we look at it at social media. I mean,
you can't avoid it. And if you're in New York,
imagine sports talk radio, where you might be great the
(26:28):
rest of the game, you make one mistake, especially in
a game in the margins against a rival like the
Commanders and a winnable game. Yeah, that's worse. Now. I
still have a lot of questions of how they didn't
have at least one guy who was functional enough to
kick a pot. But that's a whole other mess.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
That made me mad, Like I was mad because I
felt like they had an opportunity and it just wasn't
It wasn't well, it wasn't well thought out, to say
the least.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
Because as I get older, I do that even more often,
Like you know, the Bears the whole daya tribe about
the two point conversion versus the pat after the first
touchdown pass when these two dopes are running off the field,
who gets the ball? You get the ball? I get
the ball, and they're yucking it up in the TV
booth and I'm like, damn it, you gotta go for two?
What are we doing here? And there's the kicking team
(27:19):
out there? Like those things infuriate me more as I
get older, I guess game situation and get block management
and whatever else, like what are we doing well? As
opposed to just sitting back and enjoy it going. I
can't wait to see the drama, No.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
I will. I will say this. I benched Devin Singletary,
which I shouldn't have. Not that he's a great play,
but I just thought Cleveland's defense was pretty good, even
if Miles Garrett was was digged up and Singletary probably
one of the plays of the week by taking the
knee at the one or slotting down at the one,
(27:56):
costing costing fantasy players. But I'm just gonna say this, like,
you can't expect that touchdown, you can't can't catch that
in So you can't say all he should have because
he made the right play. Different story if you've broken
free for I don't know, an eighty yard touchdown or
whatever the case is, and there's no one there. But
(28:18):
in that scenario, it's just it would have been gravy
and you can't get mad at Devin Singletary for trying
to secure the wins.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Someone running a social media account for a very widely
known sports entity.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
I should say ESPN bet message.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Yeah, yeah, where they got into the all accusations of
shenanigans as opposed to the proper football move. Yes, jeez,
I liked your specificity, you know, good for you. There
you go, there you go. We got the information on
ESPN bet, the fire the intern.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
Yeah, the over under was thirty seven and a half
and they said Singletary took the need to keep it
on the under or it was to run the clockout
so his team could get win number one on the season.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
Yeah, you know, Tomato, Tomato.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
I am more bullish on the Giants. In the two
week span with neighbors, Daniel Jones has been fine. Singletary
has been exactly what they thought.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
Yeah. I think Joe, Shane and Brian Dave will keep
their jobs, so I think that that's gonna be thegest
I don't know about Ebra Flusen and Shane Waldron. I'm
not sure about that, Mike, but we'll find out for
another day.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Can they go find a random offensive lineman or four?
Speaker 3 (29:34):
What do you mean?
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Or four on a.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
All they need is Lincoln Riley to leave USC and
come to Chicago and save the day. He's Mike Carmen.
I'm Dan Byer. It is I want your Flex Waiver
wire pickups heading in the week four. We've got some
names that you're gonna have to wrap up and maybe
spend some money on some fab or if you're in
(29:57):
your waiver priority, get your hands up first. He's Mike.
I'm dan Ian rodd A is the executive producer Waiver
Wire Pickups next, and I want your Flex all right?
I know you're already looking at the waiver wire for
week four, especially if you took a loss in week three.
You just want to put it in the rearview mirror
and look ahead and try to grab some of the
hot names that could be available. Mike, who are the
(30:19):
names that people need to target and drink waiver wire
in week four?
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Now? Some curious names as we go. It looks like
Sam Donald avoided serious injury. I know folks have been reticent,
still available in about two thirds of leagues as we
enter week four, But Sam Donald of your Minnesota vikings
with an opportunities down the road at Green Bay, So
no easy road here. I'm in pretty good opportunistic defense.
(30:44):
We talked about it a little bit earlier with Ian
in terms of that big spot play in week three,
so they get after it. But right now, if you're
looking to shore up your quarterback position, your guy Gino Smith,
we can add him as well on the road at Detroit. Again,
maybe not a game where you start him, but the
fact that he's still available in again nearly as many
(31:06):
leagues as Donald is just absolutely insane.
Speaker 3 (31:09):
And Mike, they've played some crazy games in Detroit over
the last couple of seasons where you've seen a lot
of points. I actually kind of expect some of the
same coming up on Monday night. So that makes a
lot of.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
Sense over under sitting at forty six and a half.
And how about the revenge game? All right, maybe it's
too many teams ago, but Andy Dalton fresh off his
massive game in a win against the Raiders. He's got
Cincinnati coming to town, Cincinnati reeling after another loss, as
we chronicled to the commanders, and for that defense, they've
not found any answers. They're not generating a lot of pressure,
(31:45):
not getting at the quarterback and Dalton, if nothing else,
we saw that he could distribute. He's down feeling, but
opportunity Knox, we saw more of Lagett and Jonathan Mingo
and company alongside Deontay Johnson. Welcome back to fantasy relevance,
mister Johnson. So we roll with that. Let's go to
the running back position. Bucky Irving. They're saying he's gonna
(32:06):
get more snaps, and that would be expected. Rashad White
banged up and fairly pedestrian at this point. Bucky Irving
available in about sixty percent of leagues right now, brayln Allen.
I thought he would have been picked up after the
two touchdown game. No, he was still available coming out
of Week three in many leagues for the Jets. Good balance,
(32:27):
he breaseeall and that offense is only going to get
better as Rogers gets more comfortable. See I said something
positive about the Jets. He and I said something, No,
cam Akers, because we're not sure how quickly Joe Mixon
gets back. I'm not a believer that he's a beast,
but you know what schedule, Gods give you a gift.
Here comes Jacksonville. Yeah, so you got that opportunity, Alexander Madison.
(32:52):
Go back to the Raiders. We mocked them for a moment.
Now we add a guy because Zamir White. You want
to do a rant on Zamir White, I'll let you.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
That twenty carry promise from Antonio Pierce did not come
to fruition, and Zamir White is going to see z
bench for the foreseeable future with the Las Vegas Raiders
in my fantasy team.
Speaker 2 (33:15):
I'm also designing a couple of T shirts with different
ways to spell out business decisions as we go. We
talked about Juwan Jennings last week, folks did not heed
the call. Still available and will be the number one
waiver target in regardless of position this week. I know
Justin Herbert's banged up and may miss some more time.
(33:35):
The x rays were negative, but tried to give it
the old college try, and they're wounded all over the
place with the Chargers, but Quentin Johnston off to a
nice start, still available at about half of league's and
Romeo Dobbs there for the Green Bay Packers. Another option
go back to really quickly the tight end position. Conklin
with the Jets. I think his target share remains pretty sizable.
(33:59):
A nice dragon cross the middle, big body for Aaron Rodgers,
and red zone potential for him. Zach Ertz of the
Washington Commanders, Hey, while he's upright, let's get a move
in there. Smith made the joke on our Monday night
show going I didn't. I didn't see his career out
lasting his wife's.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
Oh, oh very good.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
You know she's now retired and expecting a baby. How
about that? And then you got Cole Comett we you
know in Chicago. I don't know why his share wasn't
bigger weeks one and two, Waldron will have to answer
for that, but a big, big target count week three.
Expect more of the same going forward. Nice security blanket
for Cole Commet. Maybe he'll lose some of those targets
(34:43):
once Keenan Allen's back. Another guy who may be out
there available at the back end of your lineup and roster,
depending on how many bench slots you're you're carrying, might
be a worthwhile pick up as well.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
You know, there are a couple of names that we
could throw out there. Curious about to two at well,
I know the Rams go to Chicago, but considering they're
gonna have to throw it to someone, and when you
saw the big playability that he had. When you have
Matthew Stafford, trust obviously goes with it. If you're in
a deep leader, if your league, or if you're in
(35:17):
dire help of maybe a spark that could be a
place that you could you could look at. I'm curious
about Jalen Naylor with the Vikings because I think the
numbers are inflated because of the touchdowns once you have
Jordan Addison fully back in the fold, and I don't
think Sam Donald's been great. I think their defense is
more of the story Mike honestly in Minnesota, so he's
(35:37):
not gonna be throwing four touchdowns every single game. I
think I would temper my expectations on someone like Naylor
right now.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
And remember Howkinson's coming back here in a couple of
chash more distribution, maybe better quality chances, just fewer of them,
So it becomes the Boomer Boss Pop proposition.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
Yeah, the waiver wires should be interesting, and you know
we're gonna be dealing with buys coming up in a
couple of weeks, some London games, all stuff that we
will obviously prepare for and hopefully have you prepared for
as the fantasy season rolls on. Speaking of the Vikings Jets,
Vikings Ian's Jets going up against the Vikings in that
(36:18):
London game coming up in a couple of weeks. That'll
be week five with the when the first bye weeks
end up happening, that's pretty dandy one to send overseas.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
So yeah, look it pretty good right now. The following
week it's Bears Jaguars, and.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
Then and then we put it out Panther's Giants to Germany.
But hey, hey, right now, with Dalton and the Giants rolling,
that's getting a little bit better as it is.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
There you go and they can only hope for another
couple of weeks of positivity. Sell Sell, Sell.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
He is Mike Carmen hit him up at Swollendome. You
can find me at Dan Byer on Fox, and our
executive producer you can find at Ian Roddy Underscore. That's
it for this episode. Off, I want your flex. Hopefully
all of your waiver wire hits land and you have
a much stronger team heading into week four. And one
final bit of advice. If you're ever wondering on who
(37:11):
to play, the Grid is telling you. The rankings are
telling you one thing, The Grid's telling you another. Mike
Harmon's telling you one thing. In the end, just play
who you want to play, because otherwise you're gonna kick yourself.
And that's the fun of fantasy football. It's my annual
PSA Mike that I always say, when it comes down
down to the decision, play who you want so then
(37:32):
you have no one else to blame but yourself. The
worst thing to do is listing to someone else and
be like, oh I wish it I would have played
that guy.
Speaker 2 (37:39):
Now I will say this at Swollen Dome, you can
blame me for everything, even if it is your own thing.
I haven't been able to talk you off the mark.
If you need someone to blame, I'll be happy to
put it on my big shoulders. But yeah, you do
this generally quarterly, and I want your fly reminder.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
Folks play because that's the fun of it. It's because
you are putting your you know what's on the line,
and when it hits, it feels so much better than
to be like, oh, thank goodness. I followed Fantasy Pro's advice,
you know, go with what you want to do. If
especially when they're in close situations, you're not going to
be able to when you're splitting hairs, it's tough to pick.
Go with what you want. And just because someone is
(38:20):
ranked thirty fourth instead of thirty fifth, you don't need
to go with number thirty four. You can go with
thirty five if that's who you want to go with.
All right, random done so for Ian Roddy and Mike Harmen,
I'm Dan Meyer. We'll talk to you next time here,
and I want your FLEs
