Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies, and you want experience during your football season, We'll
buckle up, sweet cheeks. We've got all the experience in
the world. This is I want your flex with Dan.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Bayer and Mike Harmon.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
Mike and Dan break down everything you need to set
your lineups, from position rankings.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
To starts and sits.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
The guys help you make those hard decisions. And now
let's get your flexod. Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Week six is here, and it's a week in the
National Football League where we have an upstar Giants team
and a sluggish Eagles team.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
As they started off Week six.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Mike in some sort of impressive fashion by the New
York Giants on Thursday.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Night running the juggernaut once again. Camp Scantibo has become
a folk hero. They'll start writing songs about him. Before long.
Ninety eight yards three scores go Li. I mean that's
as effective as the tush push is, just setting him
in motion and running them up. Conversely, I'm putting Saquon
(01:09):
Barkley on the side of the mill carton. Yeah, he's
not even given us anything in the passing game, so
he's absolutely invisible. After two huge runs, right, we start
the game after the Giants botch kickoff with two huge
Barkley runs and who would have thought that was going
to be it for the night?
Speaker 4 (01:28):
No kidding.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
I don't know if it's the desire to pass, or
what's going on with the Philadelphia Eagles and trying to
prove something, or if they're just not good upfront, which
has started to be a conversation over these last couple
of weeks. It does make you wonder. I don't think
that Saquon's on a cliff, but if his team is
going to give him the football, yeah, maybe the downward
descent begins.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Six carries a week ago, twelve carries on Thursday night. Again,
two huge runs early on. He had that eighteen yard er.
It's like, all right, here we go. Oh, we're gonna
rush right past that eighty five and a half total
that was put out there, which seemed a little bit
daunting given the recent struggles, and we didn't even come
close to that was that was fool's gold on a
(02:12):
whole other level. But you know, the story of the
day is scatterbo and looking at Jackson Dart. Now from
the NFL perspective, a lot of going into that concussion
protocol and Brian Dabele looking like a lost puppy dog
for the two plays that Russell Wilson had to go
on to the field. That really actually was a sad
indictment of where where you're at in terms of your
(02:32):
trust level there but fifty eight yards and a score
on the ground for Dart on thirteen carries. He's going
to be broken in half, but he's fun for fantasy purposes.
In the interim.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yeah, the boo birds that came out. I don't know
if you were on the air when that ended up
happening or if you heard the sound, but the boo
birds were pretty crazy. Just in the one bad pass
that Russell Wilson ended up throwing.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
I have no doubt, absolutely insane, but just just we
had the visual of a Dable running up and down
and try to get into the tent and just looking
like he was doing anything he could possibly do to
stall heavy action throw it into the fifteenth row.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
It It was crazy. Giants gonna win.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
We'll get to some Survivor picks later on, but I'm
just gonna say this, that game last night is again
a reason I don't like Division games to be picked
for survivor because these teams know each other. Short week
was tricky for the Eagles, even though they were a
little more than a touchdown favorite. I had a pool
where nine percent of the entries dropped out, another one
(03:37):
with six. Jason Stewart sent me one. Sixteen percent of
his pool picked the Eagles last night. Yes, and they
will are regretting it right now. But let's get into
the games that haven't been played. There are fourteen more
Texans and Vikings on PIE in Week six. Mike, Let's
start with the quarterbacks, or your top five quarterbacks for
the upcoming week.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Now, we'll go with some of the usual suspects up
the top, even in a what seems to be a
difficult matchup. Josh Allen going up against Atlanta. He's given
US twenty or more Fantasy points four of his five starts.
Atlanta fourth best on paper coming out of the bye week.
We'll see. We'll see what the when the rubber meets
the road, and what the the legs of Josh Allen
(04:18):
add to the mix. Curious also that passing game. Still
trying to figure out who that number one A List
guy is when it's all said and done, but spreading
the ball around effectively. Thus far my homes against Detroit.
Why because the number is fifty three?
Speaker 4 (04:34):
Yes, can't be points of balza.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Yes, And that went up three points from earlier in
the week. I saw it at fifty or fifty and
a half, and then the last I looked it was
at fifty three. So a lot of juice coming in.
He's got twenty three or more fantasy points in four
of his games, the one that he didn't well, the
one where he didn't run for anything. But you're looking
(04:59):
at a middle the back Detroit defense. Opportunity here once
again for homes as they start getting healthier. Whether that
translates to wins and losses, I'll leave that to the
survivor picks if you want to go bowl there. Dan
Drake May going up against New Orleans ninth worst fan
against fantasy quarterbacks season low twelve points from May last week.
(05:21):
But he'd gone for twenty or more three straight weeks
before that. We got Dak Prescott, We get him in
three huge efforts twenty one, I'm sorry, twenty three, thirty one,
twenty eight. Couple of smallish ones mixed there in Carolina,
tenth best against quarterbacks to date. But you know, this
is an offense that we had a lot of faith
(05:42):
coming into you, in particular Dan, and I've jumped on
board that bandwagon that Dak's going to keep firing because
Javonte Williams has actually really been such a surprise for them,
giving them great balance. So I think that continues this week.
And then number five. I wanted to do a coin
flip for that final game on Monday, and even with
(06:04):
Terry McLaurin still sidelined, Jad Daniels gets then against the
Bears seven of most fantasy points allowed per game at
over twenty one. When you look at Daniels the three
games he's played, twenty nineteen point seven seventeen point one.
Very high floor for him against this Bears secondary. They're
(06:25):
coming off of bye, so to'll be curious to see
if they've been able to fix anything if Dennis Allen
has anything cooking. But he got the number five slot
just ahead of Caleb Williams.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
No offense to the Jets and Dolphins and Bengals and Broncos.
I'm about to offend them. This double header, the stagger
double header that we have a little bit more interesting
than the one that we had just a couple of
weeks ago. You don't see Bill's Falcons obviously play every year.
In fact, I don't even remember a Bill's Falcons matchup
in history, so it's going to be new to me.
But the Bears commanders, just coming off of last year.
(06:56):
I know you're going to have the vesting interest in Chicago,
but as a fan, it's a good double header in
week six.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
No, that's it, right, is that we get two games,
forty nine and a half and fifty of the totals
for those games respectively. A lot of questions for Atlanta
still to be to be sorted out right as to
what that offense becomes, whether we can find some juice
in the passing game beyond Vijon Robinson. Right, we know
what he set it and forget it and move on.
But still a lot of intrigue. And look, I'll take
(07:25):
the early games. I'll take the stagger doubleheaders. Football is
good and with baseball starting to wind down a little bit,
it's awful hard. I mean, we got a guy sitting
out with sciatica for crying out loud. I mean, that's
where we're at in this world.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Dan Byer, I think anybody who sits in traffic in
LA should have sciatica on the right side.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
That's just my opinion.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
All right, that's your top five quarterbacks in Week six
for the NFL. Let's get to the guys who carry
the football. Their top five running backs.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Number one Josh Jacobs going up against the Cincinnati Bengals.
He's tied for six at about seventeen Fantasy points per
game PPR league Cincinnati worst against opposing running back, so
light them up once again. Jonathan Taylor one of the
great stories of this early year. I love Daniel Jones
and we've talked about him and my belief and what
(08:14):
but for Jonathan Taylor, everybody keeps waiting for him to
fall off a cliff. Hasn't done it yet. This is
one of the one of the greatest matchups coming off
of that Arizona collapse. How much heart do they have
or do they come out and get run over once again?
Thirteenth most Fantasy points per games allowed. You look at
three monster games for Taylor, and remember he doesn't catch
(08:34):
the ball, folks, so you know it's all on the ground,
all just bulldozing, folks. Twenty eight point five thirty one
point three and thirty point efforts for a guy that
doesn't give you the cheap PPR points. Crazy, absolutely insane
Jamier games. Going against Kansas City, he's tied for six
to again about seventeen fantasy points per game Casey Strong,
(08:57):
but again we're looking to that over under and his
aptitude as a receiver. He'll be active in this one,
so he gets the number three spot. Number four Beijon
Robinson going up against Buffalo. Talked about it a little
bit before. He's the one lynch Bin do it all.
Third in fantasy scoring at about twenty fantasy points per
game and half PPR leagues. And then we look for
(09:19):
number five, Which one? Which one will it be? Yeah,
we'll take the chalk at Christian McCaffrey because he is
right now the model of consistency. Second at about twenty
one fantasy points per game. The range of his scoring
dan eighteen point seven to twenty three point nine.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
Wow, that is beautiful.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
To just be able to say, all right, I'm walking
away with about twenty a week, and let's figure out
the rest of the line up. Tampa Bay middling against
opposing running backs.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
With everything around Christian McCaffrey being in flux. He's been
the steady Eddie for sure in that matchup. Something interesting
as well, just do your top running backs there. The Bills,
I mean, they played the Jets in Week two in
New Jersey, but essentially they hadn't had to leave the
state of New York for the entire start of the season.
They've had four home games so far. Week one home
(10:10):
against the Ravens, they were at the Jets, and then
they had the three straight with the Dolphins, Saints, and Patriots,
so they travel there. And then I look at the Colts, Mike,
they had the road game in Nashville, but the Rams
game was an indoor game. They get another indoor game.
They've played a bunch of them at Lucas Oil already
this season. So some of these teams getting familiar settings
(10:32):
around them and maybe a reason.
Speaker 4 (10:33):
Why some of their early success is happening.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Well, we look it for continuity, right and certainly we
know there are some players that have their issues outdoors,
so we always hang a star when that has to
happen right where we're looking at. You know, for guys
like Jared Goff in particular, he's been one Matthew Stafford
has been one that we've kind of tracked through the years,
(10:58):
not that he doesn't put up numbers on the whole,
but you know what that difference will be when you're
not in the friendly confines of a dome.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
Well, i'll tell you what the way the NFL is going,
we're going to be there in ten years, everybody's going
to have that sort of facility.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
My goodness. Maybe not everybody, but it's suir they we're
talking about it.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
In Pittsburgh Steelers need a new facility or need to
do something with their stadium. Oh yes, I can't do domes, Dan,
I knows.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
You just keep softening.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
All of this, yese right, I mean, I agree.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Baffalow the new stadium. Hey, there's going to be no
wind wall. Well, what the hell's the point?
Speaker 4 (11:33):
None? I think they were laying in grass.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
I always assumed it's going to be artificial turf, but
it looked like they were putting some grass in this
week at the new Highmark Stadium.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Well, Lisa, a little bit of victory there. I mean,
tell me, tell me every time Scattaboo did his little backflip,
she didn't cringe. Wondering if he was going to plant
just wrong. Yeah, absolutely, although that Spider Man backflip was
pretty sweet.
Speaker 4 (11:55):
Yeah he could, he can fly.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Let's get to the to the guy who really could
fly wide receivers in Week six that you got to
get in your line up, your top five for the week.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Yeah, it's it's Puka Nikua. He's almost an ink at
this point at the number one slot. Just what he's
doing this floor this year Dan seventeen high, twenty nine
and a half, Baltimore third, most generous, Still a lot
of injuries, Still trying to creep towards I'm putting all
the imploring the football gods to give me some semblance
of a full squad when I head out there at
(12:27):
the end of the month. But we'll see what happens.
That's where and where I am. I like football too
much to where it's over my own fandom. What the
hell's wrong with men? Ros Saint Brown going against Kansas
City again, a guy that we're talking about. He's had
a couple of middling efforts, but overall, you know, he's
steady as they go. Kansas City eighth best against wide receivers,
(12:50):
but they get the ball in his hands it's electric
again owing to the huge over under expecting fireworks. How
about number three a little bit of a surprise with
Rome Adunza. He's fourth on average at seventeen point three
points per game in PP half PPR leagues. I should
say the twenty eight point three that he scored an outlier,
(13:11):
more in the low teens. But here's an opportunity against
Washington middling defense against opposing passers, and what we need
to cheer for something on Monday night football. You're a
guy Jackson Smith and Jigma going up against Jacksonville. He's
fourth at sixteen point three fantasy points per game. He
doesn't have that big monster game right, there's no thirty
(13:32):
point games sitting out there, but steady as they go.
Jacksonville middling, very opportunistic, but that doesn't affect him. Just
get the ball in his hands and make them play.
And again, like the back end of the quarterbacks, that's
say which one will it be? Let's go with Abuka
because he's the last man standing once again. Bucky Irving,
(13:54):
Mike Evans, Chris Godwin now ruled out for this week's
game against San Francisco. He's averaging eighteen fantasy points per game.
That's good for third in the NFL, even with a
couple of smallest efforts weeks two and three, showing how
vital he is and how much that connection with Baker
Mayfield grows week to week. So let's roll him out
against San Francisco expecting another big workloads.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Well, as a Seahawks fan, I hope he becomes Jacksonville
Smith and Jigma this week.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
Get a big game against those Jaguars.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
They are your top five wide receivers four week six,
who are going to take a time out? Come back,
Mike Harmon hit him up at Swollen Dome. You can
find me at dan Byer on Fox. Ian Roddy, our
executive producer, is going to join us later on in
the podcast to give us his streaming defenses for Week six.
But next top plays, Cold Soares and Ninja just here
on I want your flex wasting no time, Mike, Let's
(14:45):
get into it. The hot plays the guys outside of
your top five rankings that you need to get in
your lineup again. Reminder Texans and Vikings on buy this week?
Who do you got for your hot plays?
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Mention Matthew Stafford before let's roll him up ninth at
nineteen point nine fantasy points per game twenty seven and
twenty five his last two. As you see more and
more work with Nakua and DeVante Adams going to work
against this Baltimore secondary. They don't have much of a
pass rush at all. He should be able to mix
(15:15):
and match the run game, as much maligned as it
is with their ball security issues, doesn't matter. Get the
ball in the hands of your playmakers and work down.
They're giving up almost twenty five fantasy points per game
to quarterbacks. Talk about Jared Goff before. He's a guy
that's in a little counterintuitive match up here. Then I'm
pushing towards the forefront. Kansas City's only giving up multiple
(15:36):
touchdown passes in one game this year. They're one of
the best going. But we're looking at golf operational efficiency. Again,
he hasn't been world beating because of that run game.
It does mute some of his efforts. Time and again.
You can move the ball down the field and if
it's Montgomery or Gibbs scampering in for a rushing touchdown,
(15:57):
well that does you nothing unless backing the Lions. So
all that to say, we're looking for fireworks here, So
we're gonna push in as a back end one. Bo
Nick's going up against the Jets strong three of his
last four Jets, tenth most. Where's that identity? Where's that
defense that was supposed to be there? Where was the culture? Dan?
Speaker 4 (16:17):
It's coming.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
It takes time and mean dance on the sideline.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
I believe in Aaron Glenn. Remember it to go a
while for the Lions to turn it around.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
As long as long as they give him that rope. Right.
I'm always fearful of the knee jerk reactions these days,
that guys don't get that second year to get things going,
and they need to make sure that the draft process
is their friend going forward. Justin Herbert going against Miami
third most in scoring at almost twenty four per game.
(16:48):
Herbert had that twenty eight point game in Week one.
The injuries to the offensive line lead me moderately concerned.
But you got enough weapons and the next man up,
I don't know that you're trusting the game. So it's
going to be on his arm to come up with
some fireworks. In this one running back position, Let's go
with the Rashad White. He is the man once again.
(17:09):
Twenty one fantasy points last week. Not the greatest of
matchups against San Francisco, but all we can ask for
his opportunity here, which means he is a high end
number two in an explosive offense JK. Dobbins. The fact
that we get to keep recommending him week after week
just still shocks me.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
Dan.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
He's fourteenth in fantasy scoring right now at about fourteen
points per game and half PPR leagues, and again the
Jets ninth worst. I got to take the chalk where
it's there. Our guy Bill, Bill Crossky Merritt, Let's go.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
Let's do it.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Jacorey as he may be on the graphic on the screen,
but affectionately known as Bill.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
Yeah, we don't have a lot of guys named Bill.
Twenty six point five exactly. Bill has been phased out.
But the opportunity knocks here against the Bears defense again,
the overall under for this game sitting at fifty. Well,
let's go to the wide receiving core, real quick tech
McMillan going up against Dallas tied for twenty seventh. Is
(18:12):
McMillan thus far two double digit games, but Dallas the
worst secondary going, so let's push him in opportunity. Just
keep throwing the ball to the guy, let him make
some plays. Stefan digs on a little bit of a
run here his last two weeks two hundred and forty
seven receiving yard sixteen catches New Orleans tenth best. But again,
that growing connection he's got with Drake may moderately intriguing.
(18:36):
And then a former New England Patriot, let's go back
Kendrick Bourne ten for eleven, for he's the number one
guy still standing outside of McCaffrey. So let's do it
for a second week in a row.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
All right, So those are the hot plays. Talk to
little Broncos Jets. That's the London game this week. So again,
if you have anybody in your lineup, maybe borderline, you're
gonna have to get up early and make sure that
they are active four Week six, let's do the flip
side of the coin. Mike Carmen cold source. The guys
you don't want to touch or just may not have
their day be happening on Sunday or Monday, who are
(19:07):
they for week six?
Speaker 2 (19:08):
Well, because we always want to get It's like those
bonus questions that they would give the extra credit that
are really easy, Like what color is the sky at
the back end of a chemistry test, you know that
you're going to get a zero on as Hey, I
got those right, Derek Henry and Chase bron Can we
just put them there?
Speaker 4 (19:24):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (19:24):
They're like permanent additions to this list until proven otherwise.
Aaron Rodgers going up against Cleveland. We know what their
defense can do, and you're looking at him after that
twenty five point seven point week one, twelve point four,
twelve point seven, twelve point eight, nice meaty part of
the curve. Oh eight, No, that's in the bottom five
(19:45):
for quarterbacks. So no. Kyler Murray going up against Indianapolis. Now,
he did clear the injury report and practiced on Friday,
but something to watch. But are we trusting that offense
right now? No, I'm not. Indianapolis eight tied for eighth
best against quarterbacks thus far, he's got two meager efforts
where he topped eighteen fantasy points. And if we're not
(20:07):
going to get huge rushing efforts week to week and
wishing and hoping, I'm out Field's going up against Denver
second best against quarterbacks. Look, he's fourth best on average,
So because of the rushing exploits of justin fields. He
may find his way into your lineup. Just proceed with
caution as you do. Also with Garrett Wilson. All right,
someone's got to catch the ball.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
Well.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Not against Patrick Sartan, yes, right. So as much as
I love him, I gotta hope you got two wide
receivers that you like on your roster a little bit
better this week so he can sit down. Alvin Kamara
going up against New England. Kendre Miller starting to show
up a little bit more. Kamara hasn't scored four straight
weeks and he's been single digits in three straight. Not good.
(20:51):
You're not even getting the cheap point per reception there.
Ramandre Stevenson made the takeover with Henderson. May take come
up here at some point. But you had the two
touchdowns last week. I can see people chasing it. I
could see him. Don't do it, don't fall into it.
He resides in a flex spot at best. And then
we got three wide receivers really quick. Jacoby Myers against
(21:13):
Tennessee had that eight for ninety seven in week one.
He's got fourteen points total the last two weeks. Oh
and still zero touchdowns. So no Tennessee is a solid
pass defense. Brian Thomas Junior. We just haven't seen the explosion.
Last week against Kansas City. Four for eighty was his
best against that Seattle defense. I'll take a pass and
(21:35):
then Courtland Sutton. He's got a higher floor than most,
so he finds his way as a number two. But
if you're expecting fireworks here against the Jets, I'm not.
I'm not. He's number wide receiver, number eleven thus far
averaging fewer than fourteen fantasy points per game.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
That Saints Patriots game is an interesting one because you'd
think that the Patriots would have momentum, But then you're
saying yourself, well, maybe the Saints have momentum, meaning up
New England only that three and a half point favorite.
But to your point of the fantasy success that we
could see, a couple of guys could be digging into
Kamara and Stevenson's work. And if the Patriots are going
(22:12):
to turn the football over, they're not going to win
football games. And at some point Mike Vrabel is going
to have enough of Romandro Stevenson if he can't hold
onto the football.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Yeah, excited for that one. I mean, Drake May and
Rattler is played better. I mean, nobody's paying attention to
them at all. Dan. I guess they did last week
a little bit because of the upset went over the
Giants because everybody was on board the bandwagon and then
the bandwagon broke down for a week. But Ratler's playing
some pretty decent football there. So curious to see how
(22:44):
long he gets to run with that job and try.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
To build Of the fifteen games in Week six, that's
in the bottom fifth of the games that I have
a read on, I just don't necessarily necessarily have a
feel for.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
I have no idea. Yeah, no, exactly, That's one. It's like,
I'm just curious to see that first quarter, right, how
are you trying to attack Drake May? You know talking
with Greg cosell as they get to do blessed with
that every every Sunday morning and just kind of throw
it up of all right, I see this, tell me
I'm wrong, and he will, which is great. But here's
(23:19):
what the tape shows. And he's been very high on
May since week one. So curious to see, you know,
that continued development and what he's seeing from Rattler, because
to this point, I haven't talked a lot of Saints,
so maybe there's an excuse this week.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
All right, let's get to the Ninja's four week six.
Some of the sneaky plays you've got?
Speaker 2 (23:39):
How about Michael Pennix Jr. Referenced it a little bit
earlier that over under sitting at forty nine and a
half Atlanta coming out of a bye week. Maybe they
fixed some of those issues here Dan. Maybe I don't know,
but you're looking at a He's thirtieth right now for
fantasy's scoring amongst quarterbacks. Still trying to find his way.
(23:59):
We know we've got Vijon Robinson, but hoping for more
for Drake London, hoping for more for some of these
wide receivers to step up. Maybe a little bit of
a reconditioning of what they've got going on there. About
Dylan Gabriel, he was terrible on passes beyond ten yards
a week ago, but all in sixteen point fantasy performance
(24:19):
might be good enough to get you into your QB
two or depending on where your injuries are, maybe you
feel a little bit plucky against Pittsburgh. I think that
might be a little bit of a push, But they
are the fourth worst against opposing quarterbacks, so curious to
see what he brings to bear. Sam Darnold going up
against Jacksonville. I know it's tough to say, hey, sleeper
(24:41):
ninja pick after that shootout last week, but people aren't
really buying in to Sam still. And here we are
in week six and he's given you about seventeen points
per week, and you're looking at Jacksonville, you know, in
that nice meaty part of the curve against opposing passers.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Yeah, Seahawks defense, so it was beat up. They lost
a bunch of guys within that game to Tampa Bay.
So it'll be curious to see on how healthy they
are defensively, which could really help jacksonvillein make that game
more higher scoring affair than people realize.
Speaker 2 (25:12):
Forty seven is what I see on the board right now.
We'll see what that is by time we reconvene on Sunday.
Ric o'dowdell, Hey, the revenge game, right, isn't that it? Now?
In two hundred yards a week? Who the hell saw
that coming? I had a guy, right, he goes, I'm
not overthinking this, Like, no, just go with it. I
don't love Kamara, but he still has his workload. And
(25:34):
then we saw Kendre Miller and then the first couple
of runs from Dowdell.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
I'm like, I give up, Yes, I know, Oh my goodness.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Thirty point nine fantasy points a week ago, and now
he gets to go against Dallas eighth worst against the run.
I thought they were supposed to stop the run. Isn't
that why they made it? Oh whatever? Michael Carter going
up against Indianapolis. Is it a good matchup?
Speaker 4 (25:57):
No?
Speaker 2 (25:57):
But we're looking for opportunity because I don't think de
Mercado's seeing a bunch of workload unless Gannon just decides
I got to try to make it up for him
that they apology and whatever else doesn't work. But last
week almost sixteen points against Tennessee, the former jet and
bounced around a bunch. Has his opportunity. How about vadal
oh yes, going up against Miami two point four points
(26:21):
last week, next man up? Kind of mentality. Miami six
months fantasy points allowed against opposing rushers, And we know
Harbaugh is gonna want to do something. I have no
doubt that at some point before the trade deadline, we'll
hear some names, We'll hear some whispers floating on the
Windsdaan but for now, next man up and then three
quick wide receivers z A. Flowers going up against the Rams.
(26:43):
We know their cornerbacks are having issues, like Flowers hasn't
been world beating, and certainly with Cooper Rush under center,
we're not expecting fireworks, but we do know he gets
a consistent workload and that floor is into the load
double digits, and then you just hope for a little
bit bit of a break there. Khalil Shakir again, another
guy who you can argue is their number one, but
(27:05):
for fantasy purposes, who's getting really excited about him? Atlanta
six best against wide receivers, but double digit points in
four of five games, a couple of touchdowns in there. Look,
the yardage isn't going to go over the top. He's
not running and doing a jail break kind of situation.
But he is a steady, reliable target. And when you're
looking at your WR three or your second flex or
(27:28):
however your leagues are configured to have a guy that's
pretty much the ronco set it and forget it. Ten
to eleven points, we're feeling good, and then we'll go
back to our guy. Romeo Dobbs going up against Cincinnati.
Are we expecting another six fifty eight and three. Hell no,
But coming off of bye week, fourteenth worst against opposing
wide receivers, and he has the chance to become that
(27:49):
number one.
Speaker 4 (27:50):
I'll tell you what.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
The list of Ninja is full of great names, Rico, Kamani, Zay,
all guys that if they play well in off, they
could just be one name guys right, like pop stars, right,
like Zay Flowers. Another there's Zay Jones, right, but if
Jay Flowers plays enough, he could just be Ze if
you wanted to.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
I dig that. I like the way you're thinking that.
There there's a list we can make that. I don't
think anybody's made yet. Here's here's your all pop stars.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
I've always said that's the great thing about Giannis. He
made he made people not have to say in Tetokumpo
because he just became Yannis and it just worked a
lot easier that way.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
He's a brilliant man. I liked what he was doing there.
They had a time out and this one of these
preseason games, and he asked someone for his phone so
he could take a picture of the coupon that was
up on the scoreboard. It was the deal for some
wings or something like that.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
Great stuff there there are the Ninja's cult soars and
hot plays. Four Week six, Ian Roddy Are Executive producer,
will check in with his streaming defenses. Plus, I got
a points of Palos and a Survivor pick for you.
That's next, and I want your flex all right, Ian's
got some streaming defenses for you, and I'll follow up
with the points of p Lozer and Survivor pick.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
What do you got Ian? On the defensive side of
the things.
Speaker 5 (29:08):
Okay, guys, Yeah, First up, it's the Raiders defense. They're
twenty six point eight percent rostered, so should be out
there in most leagues. They are playing against the Titans
and cam Ward this week. This is less about the
Raiders than it is about who they're facing. No defense
has scored less than seven Fantasy points against the Titans
this year, and three out of their five opponents have
(29:30):
gotten double digit Fantasy points. So look for the Raiders
as a good start, even though their defense itself isn't
that good. Again, it's just about who they're facing. The
Titans have been one of the best opposing offenses to
face for defenses streaming. So next up the Titans. Yeah,
so the other side is also a viable streaming defense
as well. Gino Smith for the Raiders has thrown a
(29:52):
league leading nine interceptions compared to just six touchdowns this season.
The Raiders have allowed the third most fantasy points per
game to opposing defenses as well. And I'm not sure
if I mentioned they're seven point four percent rostered for
the Titans. So both both sides, they're Raiders and Titans.
Both defenses should be pretty viable in this one as
(30:14):
both offenses are terrible. And then the last one is
actually the Cowboys six point seven percent rostered because they
have not been a very good defense overall this year.
But again, as per the other two, it's about who
they're facing. They're playing against Bryce Young and the Panthers,
who've allowed eleven or more fantasy points to three out
of the five defenses they face this year. The Cowboys
(30:36):
also sacked justin fields five times last week, so that's
just another five points tacked onto their score, and expect
them to get a lot against Bryce Young as well,
and that Panthers offensive line.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
All right, two from one game, Raiders and Titans, and
maybe a conversation in Survivor Pool as well, but you
also have the Cowboys in that trio. Mike, what do
you think about Ian's streaming defenses for the week?
Speaker 2 (30:59):
I like that Tennessee versus the Raiders. I mean, he
stuteley points out just how terrible Gino Smith's been. Wonder
how much Pete Carroll still loves him there, And you
know all those swirling rumors of what happened in the
offseason about making that choice, Well that's in hindsight's twenty
twenty and here we are. He's a turnover machine and
(31:20):
Tennessee can get after it. Conversely, trying to stop Max
Crosby's going to be a tough tall also for the Raiders.
No Colton Miller, right, So that offensive line is in shambles.
It's one of those things. Remember when Travis Frederick got
sick with the Cowboys, they disintegrated. That offensive line was
(31:42):
not the same obviously center versus you know, a big
man on the outside, but all the same that we
see a change. So yeah, I like both of those.
And the Cowboys ballsy ballsy, But you know what we
love when when you go bold that they will make
a play and I gotta think they do get a
couple of opportunities. So it all just comes down to
(32:04):
can you can you nab a couple of turnovers? Can
you could you have the big score on the on
the comeback?
Speaker 3 (32:09):
And Ian's point about the Cowboys as they're coming off
of a week where they sacked Justin Fields five times,
I don't know if they're going to get to Bryce Young,
but it does lead me to this is I think
you're gonna see Bryce Young pass a little bit more.
I don't know if it's going to be the complete
Rico Dowdles show as it was a week ago. You
had Ted McMillan as a hot play, but this is
my points of Palooza of the week. Yes, with the
(32:30):
Chiefs and the Lions being as high as they are,
there are a lot of good options. Both games on
Monday Night could be options, but I'm going for the
the fast Track in Charlotte with the Cowboys continuing their
their fast ways and for the Panthers, who did come
back and put up twenty seven last week against the
Dolphins as being the points of Palooza four week six.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
So off of.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
Ian's streaming defenses, I can find some some value with
the Cowboys, and they may give up a lot of points,
but they'll get after Bryce Young well.
Speaker 2 (33:01):
And that's the thing, right, Bryce Young, trying to extend players,
may walk himself into a strip sack at a big
opportunity in short fields and such. I really kind of
hoped you were going to go against the grain with
the Browns and the Steelers game.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
It was a that's a perfect segue to my Survivor
because I here's the deal. Mike Tomlin is fourteen and
four coming off of a bye, but I don't know
if this Steelers team is any good. And I don't
want to say really that good, like I mean any good.
I am not sure. And Cleveland is very good against
(33:36):
the run. Pittsburgh cannot run the football, so then you
make Aaron Rodgers one dimensional, and I don't think that's
great for the Pittsburgh Steelers. So I'm staying away from
Steelers Browns, which could be a possibility. In fact, with
Ian's streaming Defense's Mike for Survivor pick, the Raiders on
the surface would be the pick, just like last week
the Saints with a pick against the Giants coming into
(33:57):
town home game. But there's something with the Titans getting
the win last week and not playing well all game
and then putting it together for that comeback. I wonder
if there's momentum. I would pick the Raiders if they
showed any life last week against the Indianapolis Colts. They didn't,
so that leads me to this. There are two easy
(34:17):
matchups this week. You don't have to think hard about
this one. Green Bay the double digit touchdown favorite over Cincinnati,
even with Joe Flacco in, I think green Bay is
to pick. And then you mentioned Kyler Murray with that
foot injury that has been hampering him. This week, we
expect him to go, but how limited is he going
to be? Colts at home, get that running game going.
(34:40):
I think the Packers or Colts are your place for
survivor this week. There are some close games, but I
would stay away from Raiders and I would stay away
from Steelers just because I think the Browns are Titans
could have something for both of those teams.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
I like those picks a lot. Absolutely, the Colts right now,
everything running well. I think this is one of those
where you just grind it out and get out, take
your victory and move on.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
Yes, and there's not gonna be tons of opportunities. I
think when you look down the road of what Green
Bay is, where you're going to be able to pick
the Packers every single week, especially with that division and
who they're playing, So they're going to have some top
top matchups as well, So this could be the opportunity
to really take advantage. I mean, it's a fourteen point spread.
(35:24):
Whether you want to pick against the spread, completely different story.
But just to get a win and survive Green Bay's
the obvious answer. And Mike, honestly, with a carnage that's
already happened this week with the Eagles losing, Yeah, may
you can if you can get your free pass, and
there is no such thing in the NFL, sure, but
if you could take it, maybe this might be the
week to do it and live to see another day.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
In Week seven, yeah, I mean, we rarely see those
big upsets, right this seven seven and a half were bigger,
and we already got that resounding crash. I thought it
was funny that they also trolled the Eagles on the scoreboard,
putting up the Dodgers Philly score for everybody left. So
nice little things for you there. But but I think
(36:07):
to your point right today, succeed and proceed because you
already know so many people have dived off after that
big loss that you have an opportunity here.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
Yeah, tikes ay, and look, you look at the schedule,
what home team do you feel comfortable?
Speaker 4 (36:20):
And that's where I look at it.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
A lot of times I don't love to take road
teams in these scenarios. I'd rather just take a home team.
And a lot of the home teams are sitting there
as underdogs. I mean even Jacksonville right now as I look,
the Seahawks are a slight favorite in that game. The
Steelers rather touchdown, but division matchup, the Dolphins aren't underdog,
Saints aren't underdog Ravens, and underdog Panthers an underdog. There's
(36:44):
just not not great spots for the home teams this week, but.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
A full and entertaining slate. Again, Minnesota and Houston are
teams on the buy. But yeah, it's it's it's a
fun one, a wide range of good, bad, and ugly.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
Absolutely it allows us to say goodbye for now. We'll
join you after week six. We'll find out if Mike
Krmen's in a good mood or not. After that Bear's
Commanders came on Monday Night.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
No bad Hail Mary's where a guy throws a twenty
five yard short.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
Hopefully, hopefully that's not the case for you.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
So for Ian Roddy who will be back with us
on our next episode, and Mike Carmon, I'm Dan Byer.
Speaker 4 (37:25):
Good luck in week six. This is I want your
