Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies and gentlemen, you want experience during your football season,
We'll buckle up, sweet cheeks. We've got all the experience
in the world. This is I want your flex with Dan.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Bayer and Mike Harmon.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Mike and Dan break down everything you need to set
your lineups, from position rankings to starts and sits. The
guys help you make those hard decisions. And now let's
get your flexod Here's Dan Bayer and Mike Harmon.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
A double dose sun Monday Night sent us from week
six into well. If you're Mike Harmon, a happy place,
Bear's gonna last second win against the Commanders. If you're
a Bills fan a not so happy place, or a
Commander's fan for that matter, Welcome in here, Michael bat Swollen.
Don't you can find me at Dan Byer on Fox.
Ian Roddy is the executive producer. I think he is

(00:55):
over his Jets lost in London on Sunday morning. Find
him at Ian Roddy underscore Mike your Bears end week
six with a walk off game winner from Jake Moody.
DeAndre Swift was running well, but maybe it's the w
that is the reason you have the smile on your face.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
I'll take a w It was a good weekend in Harmonville,
all right, Northwestern beats Penn State on the road, gutty win.
You know, I take no comfort in a guy getting fired,
but you know he got a what was it forty
nine million by you know, packages he leaves, so it'll
be okay, and the program is obviously much better than

(01:33):
it was when he found it. But all of that
to say, I got that Andrew Vaughan, former White Sox
guy that kind of got run out of town. Ye, big,
big moments for the Brewers since showing up there sent
the Cubs home. White Sox fan win for me, and
now we get into the NLCS, and then obviously the
Bears finishing things off on Monday night in grand fashion

(01:55):
A little odd, right. You mentioned Moody with the field
goal had one block, So I'm not gonna say I
sat there with my eyes closed.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Waiting to hear good, bad or ugly.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
No.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
I watched it, but I can't say that it wasn't
slightly anxious. And the fact that DeAndre Swift had to
be superhuman with his one hundred and seventy five total
yards including that touchdown, scamper. Look, that's not gonna happen
every week. We know that, but succeed and proceed take
advantage of it. And Jade Daniels putting the ball on
the carpet certainly opened the door. And the defense being

(02:27):
advantageous and really making plays ben do not break. All
good and for fantasy purposes, some of the stars. We
had Jayden Daniels with a big game. He had three
touchdown passes to go with the interception and fumble loss,
but you know he came up big. Caleb Williams had
a solid game, one passing, one rushing. Now you just

(02:50):
need everybody else to show up. But did you have
Chris Moore in your lineup? I don't think I did.
Or Luke McCaffrey's standing by himself. Thirty three yard touchdown, right,
a great example of broken broken plays gone right. A
little disappointing if you flexed out Deebo Samuel once it
was announced. He played four catches fifteen yards, not getting

(03:13):
it done. And Roma Dunesay just two for thirty two,
did have a touchdown called back. So not a lot
of fireworks. But like anytime, we can have a game
that's close late in a thrilling fashion like that we
all win.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
I don't know if it's gonna happen every single week
for the Chicago Bears, but I felt that DeAndre Smith's
run so they didn't have to kick a fifty two yarder. Yeah,
the set up the one for thirty eight was just
as important as the fifty five to get him within
two at that at that juncture. So if you're a

(03:48):
DeAndre Swift owner, hey, good times right now. Because I
felt that he ran really, really really well for the Bears,
and they used him when they needed him the most.
And I know that play the touchdown pass was kind
of fluky, looked like he was about to go out
of bounds then stayed inbounds. But the way that he
did run hard and get those yards when they need

(04:09):
it on my thought crucial.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
What was impressive. And look, we'll wait and see. Right
every week is a referendum on this squad, it seems
because people either like or don't like Ben Johnson. They
like or don't like Caleb Williams. But they shuffled up
their offensive line, so he had a guy at left
tackle who's making just his second start in the NFL,
and that offensive line did such a great job for Swift.

(04:33):
There were a couple of runs that you literally could
have gone to the old Chris Berman, where'd that truck?
You know running a truck through? Or John Madden kind
of excited utterances where I think I'd love us. Still
of Swift, as he got to the hole realized how
much room he had to run, his eyes got wide,
like the old tech Savery cartoon wolves and stuff from

(04:54):
our youth. Look it up, kids, It's just one of
those comical kind of things. He's like, Wow, I'm not
used to having this kind of room to run behind
this o line, so hopefully foreshadowing of things to come
because he is the unquestioned leader in that backfield, so
to get some positive results and not have to think
about well he gets touches, but not much in the

(05:15):
way of results. As a nice little boon for fantasy
owners this week.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
It will be interesting to see what the Bears do
because DJ Moore at the time of this recording was
being held overnight in d C. So Roma Dunze, who
we thought was a revelation the first part of the season.
So you mentioned Mike has a touch on probably shouldn't
have been taken off the board, by the way, I
thought it was a bit of a bit of a
cheap call, but he could be stepping up into some

(05:44):
to some important action for the Bears as they look
ahead two week seven and have the Saints coming to town,
which should make them feel pretty good. But yeah, the
the the injury to DJ Moore, roma Dunza not having
the great night, they still got the yeah, and Kayleb
Williams wasn't great by any means, like the numbers worked
out for him, but there were times here and there

(06:06):
and maybe sometimes his fault and sometimes not his fault.
By the way, the Bears just of when when you
look at them compared to the Commanders like man that Washington,
missus Terry McLaurin, my goodness, and McLaurin, by the way,
not off to a great start when he was shorthy
at the start of the year. But they just, yeah,

(06:27):
they are. They are hurting for explosive plays or just
some sort of resemblance of an offense last year that
really looked like it was coming into his own. I
know it was wet on Monday night, but still Commander's
seemed a little bit in neutral against Chicago.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
Well, it's one of those things we talk about a lot.
And I know you and Carrie Rhoades on your Your
End Zone radio and and I got Greg Cosell on
Sunday Mornings on the network and talk about those boundary
X receivers, right, the guys that can go up and
get it. Bears think they may have that guy in
a Donesday and occasionally DJ Moore, we know that that's

(07:08):
Terry McLaurin, like he can go get it. With him
out off the field, you're trying to scheme up whether
you can get McCaffrey open, which they did, or where
whether zach Ertz find space, which he did. But you
don't have the guy to just say, all right, he's
the one on one, I'm gonna go get it. And

(07:28):
you know that leads us to the other Monday night
game because the Bills sure as hell don't have that guy.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Yeah, my goodness, and let's transition to that contest. I
know that James Cook cut seventeen carries I think was
the final total, and DeAndre Swift ended up having fourteen,
but it felt like the Bears were more committed to
DeAndre Swift than the Bills were. I don't know. I
don't know why they feel this need to do so.

(07:55):
I don't know if and it's I don't know if
it's Joe Brady in what he's got to do. And
there's a lot of good to talk about the Falcons,
but on the bill side of things, James Cook was
cooking for a while and I just felt like they
were trying to rely too much on Josh Allen and
all the different things that they got to do and
play this guy. I gotta play that guy with this
guy here, with that guy there. And they really only

(08:16):
have a couple of playmakers on offense, Josh Allen and
James Cook. And you really, I don't think, committed to
one of them. And James Cook.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
No, but that's it. With James Cook.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
He had a long stretch where he didn't touch the ball,
finished with eighty seven yards. Fine, but you paid him
to be the bellcow.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
And it's not like you were ever out of this
game even at twenty one to seven. Okay, Drake London
gets ruled out out of bounds. Sorry, fantasy owners, you
didn't get that extra touchdown right before halftime.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
I was, by the way, is that right? Yeah? Yeah,
I won a game because of that.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
How about that you just spiked down that guy? Good
for you, But like just that sequence, right, you're thinking,
all right, now it gets away, well, it gets called
back and you go into halftime, it's twenty one seven
and like, okay, you're still in this. Play your game
and they get away from it. And again, it's not

(09:11):
like you got anybody that's world beating that's gonna go
make massive plays for you. Kean Coleman flashes now and
again he's not been consistent. Josh Palmer. We've been waiting
on him to become more than an ancillary part to
things from his time with the Chargers into now, all right,
here's your chance, and he had a big play two
for sixty on the night. Khalil Shakira is a great

(09:35):
move the chains guy. He's not a game breaker. Only
three catches thirty three yards. Good job by the Falcons defense.
I think we can give them a bit of credit
for what they are. But for Buffalo, Josh Allen doesn't
have that guy that he can just go stick the
ball in an area and he's gonna go get it.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
No, and there was no Dalton Kincaid tonight, right, So
why you thought that there on Monday night is the
time we're recording this, the why you thought that Josh
Allen could do it all himself. And again, James Cook
probably doesn't need thirty five carries, but if you watch
the carries that he got and the way that he

(10:13):
ran and how Buffalo didn't commit to him, that it
just it rings hollow. Like if you look on the paper,
you're like, oh, okay, good good night. Five yards of carry,
you know, eighty four yards on the seventeen, But my goodness,
they just put a lot on Josh Allen's plate, ends
up getting picked off at the end for a second
interception when they're just trying to make the score basically closer.

(10:34):
But yeah, you're right, he's fifteen to twenty six for
one hundred and eighty yards and you're trying to make
him do everything and he can't do everything. You're not
gonna win football games that way. And it really showed
on Monday Night.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
But the other thing with James Cook is the last
couple of years he's also been a part of the
passing game. Not a massive run. I think it was
thirty two receptions in twenty twenty four.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Yeah, but he didn't have a single target. Yes, Like,
how are you not trying to get hit?

Speaker 4 (11:01):
You know, again, get the ball in your playmaker's hands,
let them go to work because you got to keep
that defense off the field.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
They're not good, correct, and Mike, they're not good.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Talk about tells, right, Like when you're talking about a tell.
When Ty Johnson's in the game, you're passing the football, right, like,
so at some point I think you got to at
least mix something up.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
Yeah, he and Ray Davis, right, Yeah, between them four targets,
three catches.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Johnson had one carry, Davis had none.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Yes, yeah, combined one carry. So when they're in the game,
they're not running the football. So if I'm a defense,
at least I know, okay, it's pass here, right, you know,
if James Cook's in the game, at least you have
the threat of James Cook there to try to do something. Plus,
this defense is not built to stop the run. Okay,

(11:53):
we saw Bejeon Robinson run all over them. They're not
good against the run, So why not take your offense
and try to churn out more than you can? Yep? Yeah,
it was just I didn't love what Buffalo did Buffalo
had Wartz. We could see them in the first four
weeks of the season and now they've kind of come
to fruition in the last couple of weeks and it's
why they're out four and two. They had an opportunity

(12:14):
to run away with things at the AFC and they
have not taken advantage. While the Falcons, well, I mean,
what more can you say about Drake London and Bjhon Robbinson.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Well, that's the thing though, and that's the concerning part
for me going forward, is that's all you got.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Now.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Eventually, maybe we get a little bit more when Mooney's healthy,
but right now, get it's a two man game and
the occasional appearance from Kyle Pitts, Yeah, you know the
rarity that that was. And what's funny is on that
opening drive, b John Robinson fumbled, but they called them
for off sides because one of the guys flinched at

(12:49):
the line of Schritch and he ends up getting the
ball punched out. They go down and they score, but
Pennix made some big throws. But again it's concerning, Like
Drake London had ten catches on sixteen targets, including a
thirty nine yard one hundred and fifty eight and a
score Jean and Beijeon. I'm trying to make sure I

(13:10):
get his name right so he doesn't come and track
me down six catches sixty eight yards from him, eight
targets and then everybody else combined for four catches for
twenty four yards.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
I'll say this on the name thing. Orlovsky was going
so over the over the top and saying Bejon.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Oh was he?

Speaker 5 (13:29):
Like, I gotta say, he himself doesn't correct anyone. People
who were close to Saquon Barkley and him are friends,
and I've heard Sequon call him Bejon. I think it's
a thing where maybe technically it's his name Bajon, Yeah,
but he goes by Bejeon mostly just because it's so.
I don't think he corrects anyone.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
It stood out like a sore thumb or right.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
It was yeah, definitely yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
I mean I didn't have the benefit of the sound so.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
But it was yeah, it was. It was crazy. It
was Bijeon.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
But but the Falcons broadcasters do it too. They say
Bjon as well, and it's correct, but.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
It's funny, right because to Rod Taylor, Yeah, and he
finally said you know my name is actually perfect example.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
But there's a difference I think between like Tye and
her yeah then and b you know like that yeah,
like you know, yeah whatever, Like Tarrell Owens is completely
different from Terrell. Right, it's Tarrell Owens and that is easier.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
I've everybody's gotten that wrong for thirty years.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
I've seen I've seen the video when when Bjeon says it,
and I still am like, Okay, which one are you saying?

Speaker 4 (14:52):
He just says it's super fascinating, but like, hey, Robinson
had a great game.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
It's it's crazy Terrell Tarad and whatever you want to
say with Jon.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Right, but how good is he?

Speaker 4 (15:06):
Like, I mean, what's I think We've used every superlative,
Like once he gets past the line of scrimmage, you
got guys making business decisions, trying to figure out exactly
how to find an angle.

Speaker 5 (15:19):
Ryan Morris called him the best player in football in
the post game, not just best running back, which he
had said earlier in the year. He called him the
best player in football, which I don't know about that,
but you know, hard to wholeheartedly disagree with him.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
After Yeah, let's I was I was starting to think
I heard that clip as well, and I didn't pay
as much mind to it at first. But I mean,
if you're trying to think around the National Football League
now that Aaron Donald's not there, there's there's an opening.

(15:55):
I'll tell you. I don't know. I probably still take
a quarterback. But that's just me.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
If we get outside the QBS, like I still put
for what he's doing for the squad, McCaffrey with him
when he's healthy. Sure, but but let's let's call mister Robinson. Uh,
he's taken over the neighborhood. There's no question about it.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
And you know.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Who I would say, You know who I would say,
and this is maybe doesn't show up. I would probably
put Miles Garrett.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
Okay, Yeah, I mean that's fair.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
I mean just in terms of like, yeah, that's that's
probably who I would.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
I do like him calling out the offense. He was
like you know what you signed back into, right, like
his postgame comments and you know, same old stuff.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
Whatever.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
It's like, no, you you you took the cash like
you asked for the trade. Then you came back and
you said, hey, we're winning the super Bowl. You can't
now like what do you get? Yeah, it's like, no, man,
you signed back into the Browns.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
And that stupid stadium that they're going to be build.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
Yeah, as long as they use the elf though, I'm okay.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
I'll tell you what we talked a lot about Monday Night.
We got a lot more in week six to get
to I got an issue with something that happened Sunday Night.
Has nothing to do with Brian Branch and Juju Smith Schuster.
He's Mike Harmen, I'm Dan Byer. That's Ian Roddy. Guys
away in on their Week six thoughts as well. It's
all coming up next here and I want your flex

(17:25):
welcome back it is. I want your flex. Find Mike
at Swollen Dome, Find Ian at Ian Roddy Underscore. You
can find me at dan Byer on Fox. Coming up
after this segment, Michael have his waiver wire pickups four
Week seven and there should be some interesting names considering
some of the injuries that happened this past week. Plus.
We'll give our report cards on the advice that we

(17:46):
gave you. I want to start with Sunday Night and
the Lions in Chiefs guys, very frustrating for a fantasy
owner of Jamier Gibbs and David Montgomery. The touchdown pass
that Montgomery through to Jared GoF deemed a legal and
illegal play because Goff did not stop in his motion
when he was trying to be under center. Blah blah blah,

(18:09):
whatever the case may be. You had a scenario, guys
where you gave it to Jamira Gibbs, gave it to
Jamira Gibbs, gave it to Jamior Gibbs, and you bring
in David Montgomery and you have him throw a pass.
I know he was a quarterback at one point, but
the Lions running attack and this may just be after
this week continues to be in flux, and now if
we don't even know what's happening at the goal line

(18:31):
with Gibbs or David Montgomery, frustrating for fantasy owners to
have to deal with with that. I know the Lions
can give you a lot, but I felt like in
Week six they took away from you.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Yeah, you're just in a tough spot because, I mean,
you look at the usage for Montgomery. Now, the other
game where he was highly ineffective was that game against Cleveland.
And we talk about how great their defense is, but Cleveland,
you know, Detroit still put thirty four on him, but
he had nine carries twelve yards, and that one just
four carries to twenty four yards. And this one a
couple of catches out of the backfield. But those red

(19:05):
zone packages, it's it's like the ghost of Ben Johnson
didn't leave the building. Right, They're still going to try
to get all creative and crafty down there, and that
that offensive line isn't getting the job done to the
same level. Like he's been a bit ineffective in spots.
You know, his numbers over all Montgomery this is are

(19:28):
affected and weighed heavily because of how great he was
against Baltimore and they stink.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
So the one week I didn't play him, by the way,
the one week I did not play David Montgomery, Yes
once that weekue against Baltimore.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
That's the way it works though, right I that is
nothing nothing damn you.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
All other Montgomery owners have you to thank then.

Speaker 4 (19:52):
But yeah, so it's it's that idea of you know,
is this offense outside of that, you know, revenge game
again the Bears. I mean, I don't know, like going forward,
you know, how much do you trust him? You know
Montgomery and certainly Gibbs at the goal line. If they
had to go to receiver in that kind of scenario,

(20:13):
I guess it becomes that much worse.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Well, you know. And I would love to use the
excuse that the game doesn't travel, but the game traveled
in Baltimore and the game traveled in Cincinnati. That didn't
seem to be It didn't seem to be much of
an issue. I just I thought that Jamir Gibbs would
benefit from David Montgomery at least getting more carries early

(20:39):
on in the season because we saw what Jamiir Gibbs
did at the end of last year when Montgomery got
hurt and how he just exploded onto the scene and
became I think he finishes the number one back last
year because of how good was at the end of
the year. So if you're the Lions, I don't necessarily
I wouldn't be against giving David Montgomery more carries, But

(21:01):
if you're not going to do that and you're only
going to use them in go on situations to throw
the football on wacky plays with Jared Goff, and if
you're Jamior Gibbs fans, you're like, great, our guy goes
in there for three carries. Then they get down to
the one and they're gonna, you know, do that, and
it's I think it would be frustrating if you're at
least you know, I've damn Montgomery for one of my teams.
It's a bit frustrating to see it. And it's not

(21:22):
like the lines of old where you just felt like,
all right, physical boom, go in and score a little
bit more of more of the Shenanigans, if you will.

Speaker 4 (21:30):
Yeah, different different style, And obviously you know a lot
of conversation flowing out of that Kansas City game about
their defense, about what they were able to do, the
fact that they had no penalties, controversy, we got what
Texas l Passo study that got circulated a bit stuff

(21:51):
we you know that is certainly in the the ether here,
but it's it's the curiosity going forward of how they
work these two guys and Jared Golf and that that
passing attack beyond I'm on Ross Saint Brown. You know,
we saw a little more of Jamison Williams in certainly
a big play threat. Does that open things up for

(22:12):
the run running attack going forward? Is this just you know,
hang a star on KC and just the wrong spot.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
Well, and Laporta has been better for them as of late.
He was a fantasy dud to start the year, but
you would think now if you're getting Laporta into the
action and he's scoring some touchdowns, it would make your
run game even more effective in those situations because he's
back to being a legit weapon. But just wasn't happening
for Detroit. What what stood up for you, Mike in

(22:42):
week six that that caught your eye.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
On Wednesday's episode, we'll go into all the injuries. So
that's certainly up first and foremost is just the mash
unit that this all is. But you know, some of
the youngsters taking taking hold and some wait, what the
hell was that? So you got Drake May and Jackson
Dart where you're number two and number three scores for

(23:06):
week six, Daniel Jones and Patrick Mahomes sandwiched them, and
the Jaden Daniels happy returns with his three scores against
the Bears, and then you got Dak Prescott cool week
to week right. As you surmised before the season, Dan
Defense is going to struggle. He's gonna make plays and
keep winging it. Number six again, Number seven was Jacoby Brissett,

(23:29):
and this began a big conversation. Certainly, it was shown
up in my timeline friendly years ago and did a
bunch of work in Arizona, you know, popping in on
their stations and all, and you know, just the question
of all right, this is something that Kyler Murray hasn't
done since X And as the game progressed, it was
all these random It was like they had their own

(23:52):
Sarah Lang's the great baseball researcher or or someone that
was going and feeding into this giant data bay. All right,
when was the last time Kyler Murray did this? And
it was really eye opening the level of or I guess,
lack of big games and big moments, certainly in the
passing game, because Jacoby Brissett comes in and you're passing

(24:16):
for three hundred yards, the offense is moving with a
little more fluidity, and everybody's eyebrows or Ray is going, well,
what if this foot injury is a bigger deal? He
misses a couple more weeks and Jacoby Brissett, even if
it's in a losing effort, that it looks better.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
I watched a lot of that game. I took the
Colts and Survivor, right, we did set it on the
it'll be a part of the report card coming up.
And they could not stop Arizona Indianapolis. Now, I don't
know if they were just out of gas, they were
overlooking things. But you know, I was texting back and

(24:57):
forth with Jason Stewart, the producer of the Doug Gottlieb Show,
because we're in Survivor pools, and we both had the Colts,
and I send to him, I go, if the Colts
score here, which they did with Jonathan Taylor, the Colts
won't be able to stop them. Like the Cardinals is
just going to go down and score, and they almost did.
They got down to the seven yard line at you
know fourth and goal or you know fourth and seven,

(25:19):
something like that. But they were down there. They just
needed a touchdown to win and didn't get it at
the end. Now, the Colts made some stupid plays here
and there, but even with them, Mike, no Trey Benson
or James Connor, because they're not playing, so you're down
to your third running back, Bam Knight ended up getting
more of the action. Adam Schefter reported that prior to

(25:39):
the game that he was likely to be more than
number one back Marvin Harrison left with the concussion. Do
you even have Marvin Harrison in the second half? And
the Cardinals offense looked better than it has at any
point this season. So yeah, this may be a huge
indictment in what Arizona is. And to your point, maybe
Jacoby Brissett is is more of an option. I thought

(26:01):
that's who the Bengals should have called right by the way, like.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Him or you know, women Jamis.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Yeah, exactly, So, yeah, the curiosity there, But yeah, Jacoby
Prissette comes in three twenty two and one, Zay Jones
ends up being your leading receiver five for seventy nine,
just like we drew it up and Trey McBride found
the end zone, just like we draw it up right,
eight of eleven for seventy two yards, and you just

(26:28):
go on down the line. Carter had a couple of
catches out of the backfield. Harrison had two for thirty
two before he left. Elijah Higgins welcome back, you know,
just going on down. We got a Greg Dortz sighting
for crying out loud dorts.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Ian one time I called him porch on the on
the podcast. It was years back he wasn't the household
name that he is now, but I did call him
Greg Porch.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
And look, even de Mercado got into the game with
one carry and one target. But all of that to say,
it just was one of those as you're watching it
and and certainly Indianapolis doing their thing getting it done,
you know, thirty one points and all, but I mean
giving up four hundred total yards, nine to fourteen on
third down, all of these things and efficiency level that

(27:13):
we wish for, and we've seen it in the past, Right,
We've seen it with Kyler Murray for stretches, and then
it dissipates after week six or week seven, depending on
the year. Right, you find that line in the sand
for what they've been able to do before spirals out
of control. But for one week, here's quarterback number forty
four to start a game this year, and it's like, wow,

(27:34):
how about that.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
I'll say I'll say this other part just on the
other side, just to add on to it, because there's
no reason to doubt the Colts right now. No, I
mean for being there four and oh at home five
to one on the season. Helps this is the year
the AFC gets gets nine home games. But you got
a bunch of bunch of early contests here for the

(27:59):
Colts will be going overseas by the way for one
of their home games, so cashing the ones that you
get now at Lucas Oil. But they've beaten we knew.
They beat the Broncos on that crazy field goal penalty,
which they probably should have lost. But they played the
Rams tough. But their wins have come against Dolphins, Titans, Raiders, Cardinals.

(28:21):
Does that worry you guys at all?

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Well, you can only beat who's on the schedule.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
Yeah, I mean, and in an AFC.

Speaker 4 (28:29):
Where we've talked about it, right, every team's got warts.
They're at least efficient, I think on both sides of
the ball. Like here here the defense gave up, gave
up a lot. But it's the first time you've really
seen them struggle to that level and you were still
able to find a win.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
Yeah, I'm not worried. Like I pose the question you like,
I think they're gonna be fine. Daniel Jones's numbers were fine. Yeah,
they're drop balls. Michael Pittman dropped a couple of footballs
like they were. They were right there. They're creative and
getting Tyler Warren, the football Josh Downs came up and
stepped up for him. So yeah, I'm not worried. I'm

(29:09):
interested to see what they do with the Chargers. Funny
schedule wise talk about that their second trip to LA
in like four weeks. He could have just kept them
money for back to back games and make it good.
I don't know, but again another scheduling issue. But yeah,
I don't think it's gonna matter. I think they got
the Chiefs coming up and in you know, late November ish.

(29:30):
I think they have every chance to go and win
that game in Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (29:33):
Oh how much of an incentive? I gotta figure out
how much I really want to go to this game?
Tickets as low as thirty seven bucks as the original
Daniel Jones Apologist, Then maybe I have to go show
up and watch this thing.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
Go watch Come on, e By Dow, Come.

Speaker 3 (29:48):
On the Return of Ad and I Mitchell. How about
this scene of the crime.

Speaker 4 (29:56):
Do they try to feed him early? Get those bad
memories out? How many times you think it showed on
the jumbo tron? Remember the last time he was here.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
I don't know if you guys have this issue, but
I'm like, didn't they just play the Chargers. But you
know it's the Rams obviously that they played. But I'm like, wait,
what what am I missing here? And I'm like, oh, yeah,
that's right. And then there was the Commanders that came
out of here point being yeah, I think that the
Colts are for real. All right, Ian, what stood up
for you in Week six?

Speaker 5 (30:24):
Well, good transition there. I get one of the things
that it was Tyler Warren might literally be the best
tight end in the league already. I get that. That's
some crazy, you know statement. Maybe it is, maybe it's not,
but he's already he's the tight end two on the
season for Fantasy. There's only been one week where he
hasn't scored double digit Fantasy points. And then you know,
past fantasy just beyond that, just the eye test, he

(30:45):
looks incredible already. I just yeah, So that's that's one
big reason I'm very much buying into the car.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
I think that there are very few tight ends. Trey
mcbridewould maybe get my like, maybe my other vote on.

Speaker 5 (30:59):
It hours has been hurt. So it's just like, yeah,
I take far annoying him for right. Now, here's your
top five scores thus far. You got the massive Week
five game from Jake Ferguson puts him atop. He's got
up a six point lead over Warren Goddard, who missed
a game, Trey McBride, who's actually his biggest output was

(31:20):
here week six, and then number five, good old, steady
and reliable Travis Kelce. I thought you're gonna say Tucker Kraft,
but I guess he's missed the game.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
Well, they had a bye week, they had a bye week,
and he had a four.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 5 (31:36):
We thought he was going to miss a game, but
he didn't.

Speaker 4 (31:38):
But he's got a twenty one and an eleven to
help bolster things and then to eight plus, so he's
number nine right now. Hunter Henry coming in at number
eight and even with missing week six.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
Don'ton Kincaid, We know that.

Speaker 5 (31:54):
But another another guy that stuck out to me Rico Dudele, Like,
my god, I my takeaway is that he's actually good
and that it wasn't a one week fluke. He's had
over two hundred yards from scrimmage each of the past
two weeks. And yes it was against the Dolphins and Cowboys.
But like you guys said it, like you play whoever's
on your schedule. And if it was that easy to

(32:15):
do it against a bad defense, everyone would be doing
it and they're not. So Rico Dubele is legit. That's
my takeaway.

Speaker 3 (32:21):
I feel a little guilty because I punted on the
NFC South and here Carolina is now sitting there at
three and three. Whenever Cuba Hubbard comes back, what's the decision.

Speaker 5 (32:33):
Canalis was noncommittal on uh on Cuba being the RB one,
not that that means that he won't be, but it's
a he's at least doubtle's made in a conversation.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
I give him both twenty carries a game.

Speaker 5 (32:44):
That's what I'm saying. That's run first offense.

Speaker 4 (32:46):
No, it's funny though, because you know, as we're talking
about him, I mean, he was a thousand yard back
last year and Gavanti Williams has been fantastic up until
this week. Right, he'd had a great start to the season,
and he was number three in hing all of that.
So fine, you found a guy, But doesn't mean Dowdell
wasn't solid, right, I mean, a thousand yards means one

(33:10):
of two things. You're really good or you're at least
durable or some combination.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
Right, well, just look at what Cuba did last year. Like,
I think it's much more about the Panthers figuring out
their run game. Then maybe it is about who Rico
dad Oil is or who Cuba Hubbard is.

Speaker 4 (33:30):
Like the Broncos of old, it's Mike Anderson, it's Gary
orlandis I mean, it's Orlando is.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
Gary to everybody? Right? I mean it. But when you
look at what Cuba did last year, and Cuba ran
physical running style, you said to yourself, now there's they
found a guy in Cuba Hubbard looking at the numbers,
two hundred and fifty carries eleven ninety five yards last year,

(34:00):
ten touchdowns, was a receiving threat forty three catches one
hundred and seventy one yards. So he had success. They
had success. Chuba gets hurt. This year, they continue to
have success. Like I almost am thinking that this is
a Carolina Panthers sort of thing. Notch you but didn't
have it the success to the extent that Dowdell's had

(34:23):
the past two weeks. And I think it's fair for
Ian to bring up the opponents, but maybe Carolina just
has figured it out a running.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
Game say this, it's also very exciting to have the
uncertainty of the NFL as it is, right, because the
Saints staying in division have actually been very entertained. Yeah,
they're pesky, right, Spencer Rattler has been far better than
I think anybody would have expected. Now they still need
to figure out some level of efficiency with olave but

(34:51):
it and Rashid Shaheed making his big plays whatever, But
it's it's a far more interesting division than I think
we expected for sure. Yeah, and more Fantasy relevant players.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
Of course, yeah, absolutely, But good call on the Carolina Panthers,
who are now three and three in the thickest things
in the NFC wild card picture. And who knows, remember
they blank the Falcons at home a couple of weeks back. Yeah,
who knows what could be up next for the Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 5 (35:21):
Very winnable game against the Jets this week.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
Yes, Yes, traveling to MetLife to face to face Ian squad.

Speaker 4 (35:28):
Now throw up one last one because and it bleeds
into a lot of the injury talk that we're doing
for the league as a whole and us and the
collective our media hordes as it were. But Tampa Bay
beating San Francisco. You talk about two teams basically last
man standing kind of thing for each of them, the

(35:49):
number of injuries going on. But what Baker Mayfield's done,
and this ties back to Canalis and Carolina, and but
you flow into what Baker's doing now with next man
up mentality. I mean, Abuka leaves that game, no idea
when he's coming back. Evans and Godwin are already out,
Bucky Irving's already out.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
It's it's just an absolute mash unit.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
Yeah, and Todd Todd Bowle said Monday that Bucky Irving
and Chris Godwin won't play Monday night against the Lions,
but he didn't say anything about Evans, So there's at
least hope for him that Mike Evans can come back.
And I know forty nine Er fans feel like they're
snake bitten? Is Mike? You said, look across to the
other sideline. Every team is dealing with injuries. We just

(36:35):
may not know the names to some. The Lions didn't
have a secondary against the Chiefs. Yep, right, I mean,
you know the Seahawks were down, you know, three starters Jacksonville.
You know on defense, it hurts, I get it. Like
Fred Warner. Every every team in the National Football League
would want Fred Warner on their team. So I get it.
But there's yeah, there's injuries everywhere, and I know some

(36:57):
teams feel like they get it more than others. But
look at whatever Zona did again. You know there was
Marvin Harrison end game. Don't have Kyler Murray and are
down to the third and fourth string running backs and
still put a scare into the Colts the way that
they did.

Speaker 4 (37:09):
Fred Warner always that guy that stands out. It's him
and Alvin Kamara. They were the two most important parts
of the Mitchell Trubisky trade all.

Speaker 2 (37:16):
Those years ago.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
Nice good hit. Mike Hants Swollen Dovey can find me
at Dan Byer on Fox and find Ian at Ian
Roddy Underscore. He will be the only one watching the
Jets Panthers coming up in week seven. Mike's been watching
the waiver wire. He's got some recommendations for you. Plus
we'll give us give you our report cards from week six.

(37:38):
That's next year and I want your flex all right
before we get to the waiver wire. Report card time,
Mike Haji fair in week six it.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
Did pretty well overall.

Speaker 4 (37:49):
I mean we had three of our top five quarterbacks
finished as top five guys, Mahomes and May and Prescott
up in there, and then a few of the others
that gave us a nice run. We had Jayden Daniels
was at the back end either five or six. I
try to recall what I actually had to say in
some of that. Jacob's finished as the top running back.

(38:11):
You Bijon up there as well, so we had two
of the top three. Jonathan Taylor finds his way into
the top five. So all of that, I'm feeling pretty good.
Feeling pretty good at those positions. Everything else goes to hell.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
No, just kidding up. Pooka got hurt.

Speaker 4 (38:25):
I'm on Ross Saint Brown was an afterthought. Roma doonsday
was bat so like, we're checking guys off. JSN finished
top five, so we'll take a win there. And then
I had the wrong chief Hollywood Brown with the monster week.
Xavier Worthy didn't appear for us, and then we had
Drake London finishing out our magnificent seven with Abuka. We

(38:47):
get an incomplete for Abuka leaving with the injury from
the hot plays and cold soars. We'll find a couple
of w's mixed there in Teed McMillan giving us our
love along.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
The way from the cold SOS.

Speaker 4 (39:00):
I mean Kyler got hurt but and and didn't play,
but you know, he was a guy that we mentioned
with Justin Field. Sorry buddy, so he takes the l.
I'll take the l that you know. I had Brian
Thomas on there. He had himself a big day as
more of the inactives got announced there for your Seattle
d Sam Darnold. Nobody loves him, I still do. Ric O'Donnell.

(39:23):
We categorized him as a ninja because nobody was buying
him for a second straight week, but it was a
revenge game man. They let him go. He liked living
in Dallas. Maybe you didn't. I don't know, but he
had no state income tax so maybe you liked living
there more. And we had Vidal who had himself a
monster game and will be one of the top waiver

(39:44):
wire pickups of the week. So all in all, I'm
feeling feeling pretty solid. We had a good week and
amored and ready for Week seven.

Speaker 3 (39:52):
Not to pick on Travis Hunter, but Brian Thomas could
have had even more, but an offsidees call offense on
Travis Hunter cost the Jaguars a big touchdown in a
game they ended up losing by by eight to two.
Speaking of Chiefs wide receivers, by the way, and this
may be a part of your waiver wires, I doubt
it because I'm sure this guy's on a roster. But
the six week suspension for she Rice is over, so

(40:14):
he is good to go for Week seven and one
of the returns with a lot of guys out where
she Rice gets back in the fold for Kansas City.
All right, Ian, how'd you do for streaming defenses in
week six?

Speaker 5 (40:26):
So, as always, we'll start with the worst, and now
was the Cowboys. They ended up losing you one fantasy point.
They allowed thirty points on the day to Bryce Young
and co. Did pick him off one time and sack them,
so salvage a little bit wasn't as bad as it
could have been. But yeah, I don't know. Those Panthers
are just unpredictable. I think I'm gonna start staying away

(40:46):
from them with the streaming defenses because it's just like
what they did against the Falcons. They're viable to do
this every once in a while. So tough one there
for the Cowboys. But the rest of the day, the
rest of the streaming defenses were good. Titans got you
six fan points, they allowed twenty points on the day,
got an interception and two sacks. And then the other

(41:06):
side of that, the Raiders, they were by far the
best point of the three, got you seventeen fantasy points
on the day, only allowed ten points to cam Warden
co intercepted him, got to fumble recoveries off of him,
and they sacked him six times. So dominant day for
the Raiders defense.

Speaker 3 (41:24):
Well, you mentioned the Cowboys, Cowboys, Panthers was my points
of palooza for point total, they were right there. Only
the Colts and Cardinals scored more than the fifty seven
that the Panthers and Cowboys put up, so I'm taking
that as a win. Plus, there was a lot of
production all the way around the stat sheet for the
Cowboys and Panthers, so hit on the points of palooza.

(41:46):
The survivor one is tricky, guys, because I told you
when we were making the survivor picks, go with the Packers,
go with the Colts. They're going to be your safer
picks that we have in week six, and you won.
So I feel like, yes, I won. However, the picks
that I really wanted to make, I didn't have the
guts to make them because I just wasn't sure. But

(42:08):
they all came through. Raiders ended up beating the Titans,
something that I questioned, and I also wasn't sure about
the Steelers and the Browns. I actually thought the Browns
would have more of an effort and it was not there.
It was all Pittsburgh on Sunday. So even though guys,
you advanced, I advanced with the survivor picks, we didn't

(42:30):
gain anything on the field because we took some heavy favorites.
So if you were able to cash in on the
Raiders and Steelers, good on yet because they also came home.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
With wins succeed in proceed.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
Yeah, it was all about a funky week where the
Eagles got things started knocking people out of survival pools
with that Thursday night loss. But honestly, I look at
another pool. There were a couple of people that had
the Cowboys, few people had the Bills on Monday night,
which wasn't a great pick. And maybe maybe somebody picked
the Commanders. Yeah, you know, maybe just home and and

(43:05):
Jayden Daniels and for whatever reason. But other than that,
those were the only blemishes that I saw in the
survivor's scorecard for week six. Week seven a couple of
other bigger favorites. Denver's taking on the Giants, the Chiefs
who we mentioned face the Raiders. Those you could see
some some some play on those. But let's look ahead

(43:25):
to week seven, Mike, let's look at the waiver wire
and who we got to pick up.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
Well, first off, let's go to the quarterback position. While
Joe Flacco is gonna keep winging it, we talked about
it in earnest, you know, the the matchup against Pittsburgh,
but for the long haul, he's got two wide receivers
that you just throw it up and let him go
make plays. Uh, So we get him off the wire,
Jackson Dart because of what he does with his legs.

(43:49):
Look in Yahoo leagues right now, he's still available two
thirds of leagues.

Speaker 2 (43:53):
Wow, it's him and the.

Speaker 4 (43:54):
Juggernaut, that's all you got. Make him go play, make plays.
But with the Giants also Wandale Robinson, people have been skeptical.
You can go find him in a good chunk of leagues.
The target count was solid to start the year with
Russell Wilson. It's even better with Jackson. Daniel Jones somehow
is still available in twenty percent of leagues. Not quite
sure why, but you can go find him as well.

(44:16):
And while you're not seeing the massive ceiling, the floor
is still pretty high. For Trevor Lawrence, He's available in
about half of league. So there's just the quick look.
See at the quarterback position wide running backs, you should
say we mentioned Vidal available in about two thirds of
leagues right now.

Speaker 2 (44:35):
He will be the leader.

Speaker 4 (44:37):
Kenneth Gainwell going back again because he's going to catch
the ball out of the backfield a ton. He and Warren.
Warren with his health issues and durability, you know, also
don't want to touch the ball twenty five times, so
I think you get a mix and match between them.
Kendrick Miller there in New Orleans, decent workload, question of

(44:59):
Al Kamara said hey, I want to stay here, and
but what happens at some point is there an opportunity
perhaps where the right team comes calling and they say, hey,
this is the best for everybody, and he says okay.
But either way, Miller with a little bit of a
bigger workload. We talked about Bam Knight as well, so

(45:20):
we work to get him in in the wide receiver position.
Becomes a real pain because we've got so many injuries
that we just don't know. As you're trying to make
your claims whether Poka Nakua is going to be available,
what's going on with Marvin Harrison Junior, Garrett Wilson, how
many weeks are we talking about? Is it going to
be ir eligible? All of those kind of things. Returns
of guys like Mike Evans, et cetera, so and Quintin

(45:44):
Johnston for that matter. So we're going to the wire
and trying to find some value. Well, you've got Kaysehan
Boody has become a go to for Drake May. We've
watched him eighteen for twenty three on the year, three touchdowns,
so looking for a bigger role for him. Josh Down
we talk about the distributions in Indianapolis, so he becomes
a guy he's on your radar, but week to week

(46:06):
you may have to ride the lightning right with the
distribution away. Daniel Jones gets around. We talk about to
two at well again owing to some of the injuries.
When you talk about Nikoua, whether he's available or not,
Darius Slayton going back to the Giants for a second,
and then Cam Johnson becomes the speculative play there in Tampa.
We're not sure how many of those frontline guys are

(46:28):
going to be able to be deployed this next week,
and how Tampa starts to look at things the way
the NFC. You know, do you want to rush guys
back a week earlier or you had a point where
you can say, okay, we saw enough between Baker Mayfield
and these secondary receivers that we can let if Mike
Evans is eighty percent, does an extra week bias a

(46:52):
better run to the finish with him. So we have
a little bit of that. Zay Jones, who is the
leader for the Cardinals, we grab him, and then I guess,
if you want to go a little bit deeper, we
look at our tight end position. Kate Otton had a
good good week for the Bucks and Michael Mayer once
again for the Raiders. I have no idea when Brock

(47:12):
Bauers is coming back, thanks a very nebulous spot right now.

Speaker 3 (47:16):
Yeah, and I could say this, the Raiders have a
buy in week eight. So the chances of seeing him
in Week seven, I think I slimmed to none.

Speaker 4 (47:23):
I would concur. So there you go. There's a couple
of tight ends mixed in as well.

Speaker 3 (47:28):
Perfect way to wrap it up because my final message
was with the Bills and Ravens on buy and week
seven again something we've talked about, there's going to be
a bunch of names that you play, especially just at
least with Josh Allen and obviously if you've had Lamar,
you have had other plans at quarterback. Week eight is
a six team bye week, so if you need to

(47:49):
start planning ahead, now's the time to do so. The
aforementioned Raiders are on buy, as are the Lions, Rams, Cardinals, Seahawks,
and Jaguars, so some significant players from those teams will
be in by We know you have a bunch of Lions,
the Rams have great players at the skill position. Even
if Pukah's dinged up a bit, Jacksonville has got you

(48:12):
there as well, and the same thing with the Seahawks,
And who knows about the Cardinals, maybe they'll just rather
Jacoby Brissette. Yeah, Joyce trade train the whole way.

Speaker 4 (48:22):
Yeah mentioned him as we went through that game before
certainly he's going to be on every waiver wire at
this point.

Speaker 3 (48:29):
Yeah. Without Marvin Harrison Junior's situation, same thing with him.
You look ahead the week seven right if he's got
a concussion, obviously he needs to clear concussion protocol. But
when you have a buy in week eight, there's not
a lot of reason to risk injury. That's why I
also Pukah's situation is, you know, for the Rams who
probably have bigger fish to fry, maybe a sit Puka

(48:51):
because of the London trip, and you're coming back from
that something to watch at least in week seven.

Speaker 4 (48:56):
Then you start looking at who are some of the
weaker defensive units out there going forward right where you
might be able to find some pay dirt.

Speaker 3 (49:04):
Absolutely, so that's going to do it for this episode. Off,
I want your flex. You can always hit Mike up
at Swollen Dome and Ian and Ian Roddy Underscore and
find me at dan Byer on Fox. We're getting closer
and closer to the midway point of the season. Hopefully
you've been having fantasy success so far, and hopefully you'll
join us after after a night of watching baseball or
whatever it is next time here and I want your

(49:25):
flex stop at that
