Speaker 1 (00:00):
I have to have been a stop from the beginning.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
To Jonas Knocks.
Speaker 3 (00:04):
You thought you knew me, You didn't know a thing
about me.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
He's crazier than a else. Wrecked that guy, Jonas Knocks.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
You heard me.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Praying.
Speaker 4 (00:15):
Some darkness is lighting up your speakers to establish an
alibi for the day. No Live from the Fox Sports
Radio studios. Here's Jonas Knox.
Speaker 5 (00:27):
YEP, okay, I'll be port.
Speaker 6 (00:45):
So we've got ourselves a what do you got to
lose situation in the world of football. We'll get into
that for you coming up here in just a couple
of moments from now, Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio. You
can listen to this show as always on the iHeartRadio app.
You can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across
the country. If you're listening on the podcast, we appreciate
(01:06):
you as well too, And we are going to take
you here live until four o'clock Eastern time one o'clock
Pacific here on this Saturday. As we are looking around
and asking the question and kind of wondering, hmm, how's
(01:26):
this gonna go? Because if you missed the news from earlier,
Philip Rivers at forty four years old, a semi finalist
for the Hall of Fame, which one of the requirements
to even get that far is the fact that you
haven't played football in five years. Has been activated to
the Colts active roster. He's been signed, and he will
(01:48):
start on the road at Seattle against the Seahawks coming
up tomorrow. Oh no, Now I can understand the concerns.
He's forty four, he hasn't played in a long ass time.
I can understand the concerns. It's the Seahawks. Have you
(02:10):
seen that defense? They are a nightmare. Look what they
did in Minnesota a couple of weeks ago. They're one
of the better in the defensive units in the league.
They've been fantastic. It's on the road, the twelve, like
all of that stuff. But then I take a step
back and I go, you know what, why the hell not? Like,
(02:31):
if you're the Indianapolis Colts, what do you got to lose?
Does this guy right here sound like somebody who's concerned,
Sound like somebody who's worried about whether or not you know, hey, listen,
things could go poorly here, things could go back. Does
this sound like somebody who's concerned about what could possibly
go wrong in this situation coming up tomorrow at Seattle.
Speaker 7 (02:53):
As simple as as can be, as a coach that
I love and an organization that I really enjoyed being with.
You know, mister Ursay believing in me in that year
in twenty twenty when it didn't go so good in
twenty nineteen and they wanted.
Speaker 6 (03:07):
Me, what is your playing?
Speaker 7 (03:08):
What are you wait?
Speaker 8 (03:09):
Ran now right this second? I'm not sure Gray, how
about that? That's an honest answer, And I will answer
your question a little better on the plane, await, Greg,
Not not what it was when I walked up and.
Speaker 7 (03:23):
Film in Buffalo, all right, I can tell you that.
But but then I follow that up with I ain't
never ran away from anybody anyway. So so I'm they
you know, people say, well, they're know you're gonna be
right there, and it's like, well they knew that for
sixteen seventeen years.
Speaker 6 (03:38):
So this is an effort moment. Oh man, listen, you
know we've got a now returning to Philip Rivers and
he's forty four and this and that and no fit,
why not? What do you got to lose? You already
kind of went all in this year anyway, she gave
up a boat load to get soft. Gardener gave up
(03:59):
a boat load to improve the defense. He got hurt.
Daniel Jones was in the MVP conversation. The guy was
walking around with a broken fibula or whatever it was
in his leg, then tears his achilles. He got hurt.
What do you got to lose? And by the way,
this is par for the course when it comes to
the organization. They hired Jeff Saturday off a TV desk
(04:25):
to coach the team. This is kind of what they do.
He mentioned Jim Mersy there. I would be willing to
bet Jim Mersey is looking down and going, you know what,
that's exactly right. That's exactly how you handle this situation.
We're in a tough spot. We've gone all in the
season's unraveling. We were in total control of that division.
(04:47):
That's gone. Looks like we might be on the outside
looking into the playoffs. Effitt, why not? This is your
typical standard e fit type move from Jim irsay, and
it's exactly how it should be. I mean, look at
the Luck. They've had no pun intended when it comes
to quarterbacks since Andrew Luck decided in the middle of
(05:11):
a preseason game. Yeah, I'm good. Have fun, everybody, I'm
out of here. Enjoy it. Jacoby Brissett, Brian Hoyer, Carson
Wentz was the starter for a season, Matt Ryan, sam Ellinger,
Nick Foles, Gardner, Minshew, Anthony Richardson, Joe Flacco, Daniel Jones.
(05:35):
Anthony Richardson was supposed to be their franchise quarterback. He
hasn't been able to stay healthy. And that's not all
because of Anthony Richardson on the field or maybe opting
out of a play. Anthony Richardson is not available to
play for the Indianapolis Colts because he was using an
exercise band in the locker room before a game. He
(05:59):
was having it attached to his locker to stretch out,
and the thing snapped, hit him in the face and
broke his orbital bone, you know what I mean. Like, so,
if you're the Colts, you're looking around at this run
of quarterbacks, this run of luck. Again, no pun intended
that you've had the situations you've been put in now
(06:22):
because of injury. And if you're the Cults, you're looking
around going ef itt. Why not, because honestly, what do
you got to lose? But what do you have to lose?
I mean, do you really think that you're in a
better situation with Riley Leonard? Now that's on a knock
(06:42):
on Riley Leonard at quarterback, but he hasn't played much
and he also got banged up last week?
Speaker 3 (06:47):
So what are you gonna do?
Speaker 6 (06:51):
Like, so, Shane Sichen's looking around going listen, I got
a guy who I'm close with, who I know knows
the offense. He's been actively involved in the offense because
he was using it. And you can laugh at this
all you want, but at least it's something. He was
(07:12):
using this offense while coaching the high school football team
that he's a part of, and it's like, I mean,
we think he could still play. He still looks the same.
I mean, there's people out there that are saying he's
gained a little bit of weight. So what who has it?
You get older, you gain weight. It's the holidays, for
Christ's sake, What do you want? Maybe he's getting a
(07:32):
little weight. But you hear Philip Rivers talking, he goes,
I don't know, I've never ran away from anybody anyway,
So let's go see what happens. I am fascinated to
see how this goes. And this isn't like you remember
when Alex Smith came back from the terrible injury he
had in which he almost died, And I remember Alex
Smith came back and he actually played and the first
(07:54):
game he played in was against the Rams and Aaron Donald.
I remember watching that and being concerned watching it and
being like, oh, man, I hope he doesn't fall the
wrong way. I hope this doesn't go and then you
see him get sacked the first time, you're like, oh,
he made it through. That was one of those things
where you're like, yeah, you just hope he makes it through.
(08:16):
This is pure fit mode entertaining football that you will
ever see. Tell me that game didn't just get more
compelling because of this. Tell me you aren't really fascinated
to see how this is going to go because you've
got one team in the Indianapolis Colts, who are looking
(08:37):
around going really, what do we have to lose? Like
we just listed off the names of quarterbacks that have
been here since Andrew Luck walked away? What do we
got to lose? This is what the organization does. This
is what they do. They turned to guys like Philip Rivers.
(09:00):
They're looking around for a head coach. You know what
they do. Hey, listen, we're trying to we want somebody
who's gonna steer us back into prominent heres in organization.
All right, what are you guys thinking, Well, you know
there's an assistant. No, we'll just go to the TV desk.
Who's working TV this week? Jeff Saturday? He was here
for a while. Why not? And you know what, for
the record, Jeff Saturday won his first game. Think he
(09:23):
actually won two games as head coach. And then you
look back on it and you go, you know, that
was kind of preposterous, the whole idea that they thought
that that would work, that that would actually work in
the long run. And so you're the Colts. You're looking around.
Jacksonville's on a heater. Houston, all of a sudden, is
the scariest team in the league. The division is slipping
(09:46):
through your hands. Your quarterback just got finished for the year.
He's done. Your other quarterback had his face caved in
by an exercise band. The guy you had in last
week's got a bulky knee. You've been running through quarterbacks
left At this point, Efitt, what do you got to lose?
(10:07):
And the Indianapolis Colts finally decided, you know what, nothing
as a matter of fact, So yes, we are going
to start Philip Rivers. He is forty four years old.
Maybe he'scanned a little bit more weight, but who cares.
We're sending him to Seattle. We're dressing him up and
we're going to see how it goes, and I cannot
wait to watch it. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio

first and then everything go downhill after that, I'll tell
(11:34):
you who they are in the world of football right here.

Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio. Coming up a little over
ten minutes from now we are going to have our
TGFG Game of the Week in the NFL, because if
not for gambling, who the hell would watch. We'll get
into that for you again a little over ten minutes
from now here on FSR. So, the one thing I
really do admire about college football is sort of there
(13:02):
anti proper order routine that they put us through every
single year. All right, So like there's a there's a
proper order when you're sitting down for a meal, right,
and then like this, you get a restaurant whatever, Like
you sit down at a meal and it's all right.
You start with drinks and then appetizers, and then you
get your you know something else, maybe your main course,
(13:25):
and then at the end you get diverted. You get
the dessert, and you get whatever you know, you know,
fancies fancies your sweet tooth at that time. So you
finish up with dessert. And in college football, they look
at that and they go, we're gonna flip that all right.
So like, we're gonna go ahead and flip that right
because the appetizer and I'm a big appetizer guy, but
(13:45):
the appetizer or the vegetables or whatever you bring out
the bread is this kind of yeah whatever, college football
flips it. So they start out the year right out
of the gates on Labor Day weekend with banger at
after banger after banger, and it counts and you'll be
judged for it. I mean, look at what happened in
(14:08):
Notre Dame. They got jobbed and judged for it based
on the start of the season. So college football is like,
f this, man, We're going straight to dessert. What do
you want? You want some chocolate mouse, you want some cheesecake,
you want some buttercake, you name it, whatever your sweet
tooth is, We're gonna go ahead and roll that out first.
(14:31):
Oh yeah, so we don't eat any like the stuff.
We don't like like any of the vegetables, the you know,
the broccoli, the disgusting mushroom entree that we don't have
to eat any of that. Oh, no, you do. It's
just at the very end. So the appetizer or menu
item that's rolled out that you have zero interest in eating.
(14:52):
Can I present to you the Cricket Celebration Bowl currently
going on between Prairie View and South Carolina State. And
this is not a shot at South Carolina. Look, I
lived in the state of South Carolina. I worked in
the state of South Carolina. All right. I loved my
time in South Carolina, love it. But I gotta be
(15:13):
honest with you. The Cricket Celebration Bowl, after what we've
seen all year long in college football, isn't exactly what
I thought we were gonna go home with.
Speaker 3 (15:21):
You know.
Speaker 6 (15:23):
It wasn't exactly the desert item I thought we were
gonna go home with. And the fact of the matter
is that's what college football does. They give you all
the good stuff at first, and listen, we're gonna get
the national championship of the college we won't play with
and all that's fun. But these bowl games are borderline
unwatchable and it could be a close game or whatever,
(15:43):
But are you really watching the bucked Up label? Honest
to god, are you watching that? By the way, that's
later on tonight. I live in LA. I cover sports
in LA. Nobody cares. It's why the bull is disappearing
after this year. They had it for six years. I
(16:05):
think Jimmy Kimmel had it for the first couple of years,
and they're like, we can't have a guy that cries
that much hosting a bowl game. We got to go
somewhere else. And then they gave it to Rob Gronkowski,
and even Gronk was like, yeah no, And now bucked
Up is getting it. Hey sweet. So I do admire
(16:29):
the fact that college football does it differently, you know,
they're they're like their order of the meal is different. Like,
I do admire that. But there's a lot of these
bowl games nobody gives a rip about. The players don't care.
Maybe some of the fans care. I mean, a lot
of these bowl games, we're being honest here, would qualify
for the TGFG Game of the Week. A lot of
(16:51):
them would, because you can gamble on them. But then
you're not really sure what you're gambling on because you
don't know who's gonna play. It's the NFL preseason basically,
Like there are people that bet on the Hall of
Fame game. You want to know how I know that
because I have a mirror. I do it every year
(17:13):
and there will be people that better. But you're just
kind of throwing stuff out.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
You have no idea.
Speaker 6 (17:17):
It's like playing the lotto. I don't know, not sure
we'll see. So at least college football is just openly
telling you, like, hey, man, like you know, we'd rather
just give you the get the crap at the end.
We'll give you the good stuff to start out the
year and.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
Then most of the crap at the end of the season.
Speaker 6 (17:34):
So enjoy your your Cricket Celebration Bowl the Bucked Up
La Bulls later on today. I believe the ninety nine
cent Store Bowl is coming up in about two Like
whatever whatever they roll out to you just understand they
gave you the good stuff to start out the year
and the rest you got to kind of pick through.
You know. It's like it's like the end of the
Halloween bag, you know, like it's whoppers, a Werther's original
(17:59):
and like a three months tears. Why are those left over?
I don't know, why do you think? At the Jonas

Let us know who's takes on the show you like,
even the ones you don't like. But search Fox Sports
(18:21):
Radio on YouTube and subscribe. The Sharon Moore situation with
Michigan is wild because I have no idea what is
actually true and what is just being rumored. Because there's
also I mean, and listen, look the guy, uh you know,
(18:43):
I mean he's horny, like I don't know, I don't
know what else to put it. Like the guy he's
you know, he's coaching football Michigan. He's got you know,
he's got a side piece that he may or may
not have been pregnated and then door dashed a pregnancy
test or a plan B two. Like I have no
like there's all that stuff that's there. I don't know
if that's how much of that is true. You know,
(19:04):
they were seeing a lot together. There's that uh you know,
he threatened. Reportedly, one of the reports was he threatened
somebody with a knife and then threatened to hurt himself.
Like it just like there's just a lot going on.
And then apparently like while he was still in jail
or out of jail, that like he hit up an
only Fans model and you know, tried to give her
(19:25):
free tickets to a Michigan game for a foursome. That's
one of the other reports that are out there, all right,
like you know, I mean, listen, I'm married, I'm just
you know, twosome would be fine. But like it just
so there's a lot there. And now for people that
are like, oh, well, you know this is I mean,
this show, this is Michigan. How could you well, it's like,
if we're being honest, Michigan for a long time before
(19:48):
Jim Harbaugh got there was a bag of crap.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
I mean, they just were.
Speaker 6 (19:52):
I mean, you talk it like you want to judge
Shroan more for giving away tickets for a foursome. What
about the fact that years ago, a true story, they
were given away free tickets to a Michigan Minnesota game
in ann Arbor if you bought like a two liter
bottle of soda. So I would say that at least
there's been signs of development and growth in the program
that they've gotten to this point that they've now like
(20:13):
you know, given up on Hey, here's a two liter
bottle of Shasta, Like, let's go have a four way,
Like that's at least there's that. So there's just a
lock on it. And I have no idea what's true,
Like you're just seeing all these various reports that are
out there and nobody really has any idea what's true.
(20:33):
It's just it's wild, wild that we're even at this point.
And I kind of threw out the question on Two
Pros and a Cup of Joe yesterday where I said, listen,
we were on the air when the game was happening,
Ohio State Michigan. We were on the air for that.
If I would have told you in less than two
weeks Ohio State would have lost to Indiana and Michigan's
(21:02):
head coach would have been arrested, would you have believed it?
Like what would that parlay have paid out? And on
top of that, would you have believed that Ohio State
would have lost to Indiana and Michigan's head coach apparently
was trying to give away tickets to have a foursome.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
With another Like what part of that would you have believed?
Speaker 6 (21:26):
More like which one of those would have made the
most sense to you in your eyes? But it just
goes to show you that while college football does things differently,
doesn't mean it's always the right way. It is entertaining
as hell, and we're going to be sad when it's
finally over coming up here in about a month or
so at the Jonas Knocks on X at Jonas Knock
(21:48):
Show on Instagram, and again you can hang out with
us as always on the iHeartRadio app. All right, so
we are going to hand out an award here on
the show. It's our TGFG game of the Week. That'll
be yours next here on Fox Sports Radio. But for
all the just from around the world of sports ladies
and gentlemen, he's much more than an only fans model.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
He is the one.
Speaker 6 (22:09):
He is the only. He's the majestic Sir, Isaac Longrow.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
Notice how I'm not denying any of that. Why would
you I'm.
Speaker 6 (22:18):
Here, by the way, I'm not. I'm not if you're
an only fans of mode, I'm a jit like, listen,
I've made money doing worse.
Speaker 9 (22:24):
So oh, by the way, they closed the chuck E
Cheese near where we live. I personally find you responsible.
I mean, have you noticed that once that you were
nationally associated with their brand, it all started going downhill?
Speaker 6 (22:41):
Where do you live? If you don't mind me asking?
Speaker 3 (22:43):
I live in southern California just like you.
Speaker 6 (22:46):
Okay, but like which which location you talk of?
Speaker 3 (22:48):
Pasadena area?
Speaker 6 (22:49):
Oh yeah, well maybe there's maybe everybody was uh well,
maybe I'm missing, maybe I'm mistake in c LA games.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
So maybe that was God, hang on, let's let's check
on that. No, No, that wasn't it.
Speaker 6 (23:04):
Talk about the real Cricket Bowl. What is UCLA this year?
Speaker 9 (23:06):
Actually, we do have some fresh I'm actually not making
this up. We do have a fresh like literally within
the last few minutes college football crying.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Story for you, Jonas.
Speaker 9 (23:18):
So that's coming up after we tell you what's going
on in the NFL as NFL media reports that Philip
Rivers will start at quarterback tomorrow for the Indianapolis Colts
at Seattle. The Colts today officially signing Rivers to their
active roster from their practice squad. Here was the forty
four year old Rivers. Earlier this week, after coming out
of retirement stop.
Speaker 3 (23:38):
Getting old, went into a Nankey store. They wouldn't let
me leave you. I'm sorry there, Jonahs. Actually, pressure button.
Speaker 6 (23:47):
That's that is that is extremely rude. That's extremely rud
It's the wrong button mistake. What's your fa Let me
tell you something. Somebody as somebody who does Chargers shows,
come on. The fact that you're going to disgrace the
greatest quarterback in the history of the Chargers is discussed.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
The Chargers are in direct.
Speaker 9 (24:11):
Competition with the Colts for an AFC playoff spot, so all.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Bets are off. Brother.
Speaker 6 (24:16):
By the way, he is the greatest quarterback in the
history of the Chargers.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
Correct for now?
Speaker 9 (24:21):
You know, by the end of tomorrow it very well
could be Justin Herbert.
Speaker 6 (24:24):
I mean, like, who else is in the conversation Dan Fouts?
Speaker 3 (24:28):
But yeah, Pro Football Hall of Famer Justin Herbert. Who's
that other guy?
Speaker 9 (24:32):
Oh yeah, Stan Humphries, Hey got him to a Super Bowl,
Baby Drew Brees remember him? Yeah, that's right, John Hadel.
Speaker 6 (24:41):
Yeah, that's when when Stan Humphries was wheeling and dealing,
I was listening to Lee Hacksaw Hamilton on Extra Sports.
It was Extra Sports six ninety out here.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
In damn right, back in the day, damn right.
Speaker 6 (24:54):
And I still remember I had this vision in my
mind of what Hacksaw looked like for people there weren't
aware that Lee Hakxai Hamilton was legend business. This guy
legend locally and he would do Hacksaw's headlines. Like I
called into his show when I was a kid, No kidding, Yeah,
I called into it because I just wanted to hear
because I it was my favorite thing. I remember my
(25:14):
mom told me.
Speaker 9 (25:15):
Let's go to Jonah, Let's go to Jonas in Thousand Oaks.
Speaker 6 (25:18):
She swore that he said my name on the air,
like she swore that he said they said Jonas. They
said it on the and I remember listening in the
cars like really, He's like, yeah, so here it comes
because it was like part of a commercial and he
was saying join us. But because we were listening on
AM radio, it was kind of staticky, so she couldn't
really hear it clearly in the spot she was at.
(25:40):
But man, Leeaxi Hamilton back in the day, Touchdown San Diegal,
I still remember that. And Stan Humphries was the guy
back then Natron means.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
Matron means business. That's right. So here is actually Philip Rivers.
Speaker 6 (25:56):
What was it, Alfred Papu Alfred remember Houston said, Yeah,
he would open up the coconut and he would drink
out of it.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Man, By the way, he's the answer to a trivia question.
Speaker 6 (26:06):
First, first time looking for a low and cron.
Speaker 9 (26:10):
Well, you found one first two point conversion in Super
Bowl history.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
Alfred Papunu. Really twenty nine?
Speaker 9 (26:16):
Yeah, now, no kidding, no kidding, back, they had two
to two point conversions successfully in that game. The fact
that they lost to the forty nine ers forty nine
to twenty six doesn't matter. Here, for the record is
the actual Philip Rivers.
Speaker 8 (26:27):
I wasn't really hanging on any hope playing again.
Speaker 7 (26:30):
I kind of felt that ship had sailed, but something
about it exciting, and it's kind of one.
Speaker 6 (26:36):
Of those deals.
Speaker 7 (26:37):
The door opens and you neither walk through it and
find out if you.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
Can do it or run from Green Bay.
Speaker 9 (26:43):
Packers added running back Emmanuel Wilson to their injury report
for tomorrow's game Big Game at Denver due to illness.
Running back Josh Jacobs already questionable for that game with
a knee Andrew. So here's your college football crying story, Jonas.
This is just in the last couple of minutes. So
as you know, one of the reported possibilities for the
(27:04):
Michigan job is Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham. Well,
moments ago, he told reporters that he has not had
any conversations with Michigan about its head coaching job. Dillingham
then went on to become visibly emotional when talking about
how much he loves it at Arizona State. So this
audio from just minutes ago courtesy of Jacob Brooks from
(27:25):
Sun Devil source.
Speaker 10 (27:26):
And I still have not had any contact myself or anybody.
Speaker 6 (27:29):
I mean, I love this place.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Like I said, my.
Speaker 7 (27:37):
Is that a long enough pause?
Speaker 6 (27:39):
But this place is just it's a special place to me.
Speaker 9 (27:42):
So there it is your college football Kenny Dillingham crying update.
And if he winds up taking the Michigan job, which
I'm not saying he will, that may not age well
back to you.
Speaker 6 (27:54):
Here, Yeah, that's a rookie move. Like you can only
go bottom of the deck to years, like you can
only go to that car every so often, Like you can't. Yeah,
that's that's that's a real rookie move. Because yeah, you're right.
Because now if he ends up taking a gig somewhere else,
like you know, if he starts with, oh, yeah, you
cried last time about how much it meant blah blah
(28:17):
blah blah, it's like, come on, dude, what what are
we What are we doing here?
Speaker 3 (28:20):
I mean, I'm hoping he's smart enough to realize that.
But we'll just have to wait and see, you won't.
Speaker 6 (28:27):
I mean this, I've been to tempea is not that great?
Speaker 3 (28:29):
What do you mean it's not that great?
Speaker 6 (28:32):
What we talked about?
Speaker 3 (28:33):
You?
Speaker 9 (28:33):
You've tipped off so many towns across the country with Tempe, Arizona.
Speaker 6 (28:40):
Hey here, okay, here's here's what I would say.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
Have you ever eaten a dose ringos?
Speaker 6 (28:46):
You leave my son out of this. No, But here's
here's what I would say.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
Hang on the hang on. I'm sorry. I think they're
permanently closed.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
One.
Speaker 6 (28:55):
I thought.
Speaker 9 (28:56):
I keep plapping back to you about local restaurants and
they all happen to be shut down.
Speaker 6 (29:00):
Yeah, Doe scring goes is what my wife calls my
son and I But like, this is this is what
I would say, I went to Arizona the first time
I was in Arizona. I think I might have been
there once, but like first time, it actually hung out
there and I was going to get an uber to
go to Tempe, and the uber driver there said, hey,
you don't want to go there. You want to go
to the other side of Scottsdale. Like so even the
(29:22):
people there acknowledge, Hey, like tempeece cool and all, but
you want to go here instead.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
Okay, well even they admitted it.
Speaker 9 (29:28):
If you are coaching or even in Arizona, you don't
have to be in Tempe the whole time.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
You can go over to you know.
Speaker 9 (29:35):
Chandler or Scottsdale or by the Wyndale or Phoenix.
Speaker 6 (29:39):
The best Mexican food I had in Arizona was there's
a little stop on the way to the airport. It's
like near the airport. It's kind of outdoor, like almost
like almost like a lunch truck, but it's like this
outdoor taco stand.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
Dan's place have a name, I don't.
Speaker 6 (29:57):
I mean, you could just make something up, okay, I
don't know, Like see who's you know, like like see
who's like find a boxing event somewhere in the world,
Like like that's the one thing about like you find
there's there's a Lopez versus a Garcia fighting somewhere, Like
it's just like you just called that, like it just
I can't even think of the name of it. But
it's near the airport. It's really good food. And look
(30:19):
even the you know, the the in laws are Mexican
and they all spoke highly of it as well too.
So yeah, so there's that, Isaac.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
Yeah, I'm just so so sad.
Speaker 9 (30:29):
I'm just visibly as happy as emotional as Kenny Dillingham was.
I'm as emotional that dose gringos apparently as closed back to.
Speaker 6 (30:36):
You, I'm trying to see, like where's the Mexican Just
look at Mexican restaurant and hear the Phoenix Airport. Okay,
like look that up.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
All right, I'll get back to you next hour.
Speaker 6 (30:47):
With that what we'll have you there you go, But yeah,
get get a Kenny a tissue. He'll be all right,
all right, Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio. I mean,
the only by the way that makes that Mexican food
even better is the original Louisiana has sauce. It's the
perfect balance of Pepper's Vinegar and salt wings, nachos, burgers,
maybe Mexican food, hit any tailgate food with the bold
handcraft of flavor of the original Louisiana Hot sauce.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
That's Louisiana Hot. Buy you some.
Speaker 6 (31:10):
We've got do you care coming up here in about
ten minutes from now. But right now it is time
for our TGFG Game of the Week in the NFL,
and the game of the week this week goes to.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
Commanders and Gigants.
Speaker 6 (31:25):
Oh yeah, baby Washington, New York. All the history, all
the pageantry, everything that comes along with this great rivalry,
and they roll out this in twenty twenty five, in
week fifteen. I mean, I have no idea. The Giants
(31:45):
are just trying to get through the season, all right.
They're trying to have a top draft pick. They've got
all sorts of injuries, They've got an interim coach, They've
got a high draft pick who may or may not
be sleeping in meetings or showing up late to meeting.
They got all this stuff out there. Then you've got
the Washington Commanders. Jaden Daniels got hurt again. Marcus Mariota
(32:09):
is going to be the guy presumably, And so if
you're Washington, based on last year, they were the trendy
everybody loves them on the doorstep of going to a
super Bowl. All these months later, this is what they've
turned into. So this is a pretty obvious one. I
think they've got about five wins between both teams. But nonetheless,
your TGFG game of the Week for Week fifteen are
(32:33):
the Commanders and the Giants, a one Eastern time kickoff
on Fox. And if you're wondering TGFG, yeah, thank god
for gambling, because if not for gambling, who would be
watching this? At the Jonas Knocks on X at Jonas
Knox Show on Instagram and it's do You Care? Next
here on FSR Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. Coming off
(32:56):
top of next hour, We're going to tell you about
somebody in the NFL who, apparently, I don't know, he's
having second thoughts about a long term commitment.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
In the league.
Speaker 6 (33:07):
We'll get into that for you right here on FSR.
By the way, you can follow us along on the
IG page for the show at Jonas Knox Show and
on Instagram at the Jonas Knox. But right now it's
time for this.
Speaker 4 (33:22):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Time DMS reports.
Speaker 6 (33:29):
Let's get kinky.
Speaker 2 (33:30):
Here's some of the big stories from the last week.
But Jonas, the real question is do you care?
Speaker 6 (33:37):
And for that we turn it over to our executive producer,
the one and only Bo Benson Bow What the hell's
going on?
Speaker 3 (33:42):
Jonas?
Speaker 10 (33:42):
Real quick, before we get into do you care? Through
the magic of radio, I actually have audio of Philip
Rivers from tomorrow's game. Would you like to hear it?
Speaker 6 (33:49):
Yeah, let's hear it. It's broke, it's broke, it's broke,
it's broken, It's broke.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
That's Philip Rivers tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (33:57):
You and Isaac are way too negative about this whole thing,
all right, Isaac Scott Philip Rivers like he's been dead
for three years and you've got him like it's it's
a foregone conclusion. He's going to get hurt you release.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
Do you see how fat he looks in practice?
Speaker 6 (34:11):
Okay, but I don't know if people have doctored the images.
I can't trust anything anymore because of aiste lubber.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
That's just like, you know, insulation to take the hits
a little.
Speaker 6 (34:22):
Better and by the way, like it's not like he
was jacked when he was playing. Like so it's you know,
like Philip, Like some people you see him and you go, oh,
that's kind of sad. Philip rivers like, go, well whatever,
he's fine. He's not a partier. It's not like he's
you know, he's been out, you know, doing blow and
hanging out with hookers or anything like that. The guys
he's got eleven hundred kids, he's got a grand kid.
(34:43):
Now he wants to come back and slinging around a
little bit. You know, he's going to talk trash. It's
I I can't wait to see how this works.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
Yeah, we'll see how it goes.
Speaker 6 (34:50):
Uh.
Speaker 10 (34:50):
South Carolina quarterback Lenora Sellers is a finalizing a deal
to return to the team next year. Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 3 (34:56):
Yeah, I do.
Speaker 6 (34:58):
Listens as somebody who loosely roots for the South Carolina
game Cocks, not exactly the year that they thought they
were going to have this year or the season he
thought he was gonna have.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
Because if we ask a.
Speaker 6 (35:09):
Lot of the scouts going into the year, he was
one of those guys that they looked at as potentially
being a number one overall pick because of how talented
he is, so the fact that he's coming back should
be a fun watch.
Speaker 10 (35:19):
Next, the Philadelphia Eagles removed their positivity rabbit from the
locker room following their loss on Monday Night Football to
the Chargers, Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 6 (35:28):
No, it's just so dumb, Like the whole thing's so dumb.
Like if you're an Eagles fan, and I know Eagles fans,
you know they're you know, they're gonna defend their team
and all that stuff.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
But if you're an Eagles fan, aren't you like.
Speaker 6 (35:38):
Looking around at your buddies going, really, we've got a
positivity money in the building to try and turn things round.
You just won the Super Bowl, act accordingly.
Speaker 10 (35:48):
Next, Notre Dames, Marcus Freeman is among the names on
the list for the giants head coaching vacancy. Jonas, do
you care?
Speaker 6 (35:56):
Yeah, only because why would he leave? Like?
Speaker 3 (36:01):
Why would he?
Speaker 6 (36:01):
If you're Marcus Freeman, you are beloved at Notre Dame.
You took over for Brian Kelly. The players are all
fired up that you got the job. You've more than
exceeded their expectations. You're one of the biggest names in
college football. From a coaching standpoint, as far as young
stars in the business, why would you leave that position
(36:22):
to go to an NFL team that's going to be
a disaster. Hence why they're looking for a head coach,
especially when it's the Giants and people can spare me
with the whole Oh, but it's a Giants organization and
the traditions. They just appeared in our TGFG Game of
the Week. That's where the Giants are at. They've been
bad for a decade. People have got to give up
(36:42):
on the past and the glory days. If I'm Marcus Freeman,
I'm staying in South Bend.
Speaker 10 (36:46):
Next, along with the most boring profanity, the latest rant
you've ever heard, Todd Bowles said that the bucks inexcusable
loss on Thursday Night falls on the players shoulders. Jonas,
do you care?
Speaker 6 (36:58):
Yeah, I think it's hilarious. One of the rumblings that's
been out there because I know Albert Breer told us
about this. I asked him, I said, Hey, are there
any you know coaches on the hot seat that might
surprise some people? And one of the names that he
mentioned was Todd Bowles, And I just wonder if because
you don't normally hear a coach put the blame directly
(37:19):
on players and say coaches can only do so much.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
At this point in the season, it's on the players.
Speaker 6 (37:24):
I'm really curious to see how they respond, because if
they start to rebel against that, maybe there is going
to be a coaching change in Tampa Bay after the
season next.
Speaker 10 (37:33):
Edwin Diaz signed with the Dodgers this week. At his
press conference, he confirmed that he will in fact bring
the trumpets and the intro music Narcos with him over
to La Jonas.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Do you care?
Speaker 6 (37:44):
Okay, now, let me just ask you this, Yes, I do,
because I think it's I like it is is that
the same music that Freddie Freeman uses as his walk
up song?
Speaker 10 (37:57):
No, it's different. I don't know the name of Freddie's song,
but there are two different songs, okay.
Speaker 6 (38:02):
And and also because I have another follow up Narcos,
is that like the Narcos, like the TV show, the
Netflix show Narcos. Because at some point somebody's got to
roll that song out like it like like just roll
out with it. It's like, hey, what's that song from
all It's a song about drug dealers, Like just roll
that out if that, if that's what you're gonna go with.
But look, yeah, this is I mean, this is I
(38:31):
mean it's kind of similar to Freddie Freeman's song It's
not that far away. I think they're cousins, not Freddie
Freeman and Edwin Diaz. But but this song related. Yeah, yeah,
you never know. Some family trees have had, uh have
been watered a little more than others. I look at
they be great player. By the way, talk about an
(38:52):
awful off season. How's it going with the Mets song? Jesus?
I mean, boy, that's uh, well, least you at Won Soto,
so you're fine. What else we got?
Speaker 10 (39:00):
Bo last one here, a police officer performed a wellness
check on an Eagles fan over Facebook posts that he
made during Jalen Hurts miserable performance on Money and New Football. Personally,
I would like to say, I think it's low to
put this video of me on the internet. But that's fine.
But Jonas, do you care about this one?
Speaker 3 (39:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (39:20):
I care about it because anytime a fan goes above
and now within reason, like you know, there's been situations
where like a father cheers for one team of son
cheers for the other one team loses. The next thing,
you know, you know, the son walks in with a
sod off and it's like, okay, well, you know who's
going to clean that up? You know. But so like
that's that's unfortunate and you don't want to see that
stuff happen. But like it just goes back to the
(39:45):
if you're an Eagles fan, what's your bitch? Like, what
are you complaining about? You just want a Super Bowl.
You've been maybe the winningest team in the NFL for
the past five six years, or at least in the conversation,
like one of the top teams. And they're having to
do wellness checks on you because your quarterback had a
bad performance. What about the what he had in the
(40:06):
Super Bowl not that long ago? Did you forget that too?
So apparently somebody may be rethinking a long term commitment
in the world of football. We'll get into that for
you right here on FSR. It's Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio.
You can listen to us as always on the iHeartRadio app.
You can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across
the country. If you're listening on the podcast, we appreciate
(40:28):
you making us a part of your Saturday or whenever
you're listening to us here as we take you all
the way live up until four pm Eastern time, one
o'clock Pacific. We've got all sorts of football to talk about.
We've got a couple of bowl games that, you know,
let's be honest, nobody cares about. We've got teams in
the NFL that, let's be honest, aren't very good. Two
(40:51):
of those teams are facing off this weekend, Baltimore and Cincinnati.
I'd like to call that you want to make this
a bowl game the letdown Bowl high aspirations and expectations
for both teams. It's been a total letdown for both organizations,
and so they're scrambling. They're in a tough spot. And
Joe Burrow made some noise this week, and he was
(41:15):
heard talking to the media and sounding really down about
where things are at in his mind when it comes
to his career and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Speaker 11 (41:24):
If you want to keep doing this, I have to
have fun doing it. You know, I've been through a lot,
and if it's not fun, then what am I doing
it for?
Speaker 6 (41:32):
You? See, like there's something on your mind.
Speaker 11 (41:36):
There's just a lot of things going on right now.
A lot of things going on right now, all related
personally and.
Speaker 8 (41:41):
All the booth.
Speaker 6 (41:43):
So now people have looked at that. I saw a
lot of people say, you know, the Bengals should be
concerned Joe Burrow once out of Cincinnati, Maybe the Bengals
should be concerned. Joe Burrow doesn't want to play football anymore,
so on and so forth. Diana Rossini of The Athletic
awarded earlier that Joe Burrow hasn't asked for a trade
(42:05):
or even hinted at stepping away. A lot of people
have close to Joe Burrow of Joe Burrow said that
people are being a little bit over dramatic as far
as their reaction to it. He was just frustrated and
he loves football, wants to keep playing football. It was
nothing like that. He was even quoted as being called
a serial killer. That you know, they kind of laughed
(42:26):
at the idea that that there was any sort of
you know, read inside the mind of Joe Burrow and
the deep dark tone that he had. It was more
of a no listen, He's just frustrated with losing, and
so Diana Rassini also reported that people close to Joe
Burrow have made it clear that certain parts of the
Bengals operation, even though he doesn't want out or want
(42:47):
a trade, that certain parts of the operation with the
smallest coaching and scouting scouting staffs in the league, have
previously frustrated him. And though some might wonder whether those
pass issues were on Burrow's mind, during his Wednesday news conference,
rest assured that's not what it was. It wasn't about
his protection either. The Bengals offensive line has been an
(43:09):
issue before, but it hasn't been a concern lately, only
surrendering one sack and each of his two games since returning. Quote,
he's just tired of.
Speaker 2 (43:17):
Losing, all right.
Speaker 6 (43:19):
So here's where my read on Joe Burrow's comments in
real time were this, it's just a guy who's frustrated
because he's been hurt. They've been close, they got to
a super Bowl. You can argue maybe should have won
that game against the Rams a couple of years ago,
and haven't been back since. They've missed the playoffs, and
they're going to miss the playoffs this year. They've missed
the playoffs three straight years, including this year. Like it's
(43:43):
been and there's always been something Zach Taylor talked about
it before this year. Hey, you know, we've gotten off
to slow starts, because we remember last year they were
the team that quote unquote nobody wanted to see in
the postseason. But the problem is they started off poorly,
and Zach Taylor's record with the Bengals in September has
(44:05):
been so bad that they had to make up so
much ground to try and get into the postseason that
they were just a daylight and a dollar short could
get in. And there was the speculation that maybe the
Chiefs intentionally lost to the Broncos so that the Chiefs
didn't have to It's like, you know, whatever you want
to call it. The Bengals were a scary team down
the stretch last year, but they performed so poorly at
(44:27):
the start of the season like they always did, that
they didn't have enough time to make up the ground.
And so Zach Taylor's approach going into this year was
we're going to play our starters in the preseason and
we're going to open up the regular season strong, because
he felt like there was some rusts they'd never played
in the preseason, and it worked. They won their first
(44:50):
two games. They were off and running and then Joe
Burrow got hurt. Like that's where the frustration is because
there's always something. But this idea when he was talking
about this in real time, that oh man, Joe Burrow
once out of Cincinnati. I don't think that's what it was.
I never thought that's what it was. And Diana Russini's
report corroborates that, I've never thought that's what it was.
(45:12):
He's got his guy, Like the Trey Hendrickson stuff, it
you know, was not you know, maybe handled the right way,
and he's going to be elsewhere and now he's got
his hip issue. He's gonna be like, that's just been
a mess. But his guy was Jamar Chase. They got
it done, t Higgins, is that they got They got
it done. It's not as if the organization hasn't done
(45:35):
things to help Joe Burrow. You can argue, and I
said it at the time. You got a quarterback in
Joe Burrow who's coming off a devastating knee injury. Maybe
the wise decision would have been taking Pinay Sewel instead
of Jamar Chase. Maybe go offensive line. One of the
better offensive linemen in the NFL over Jamar Chase.
Speaker 3 (45:55):
They didn't.
Speaker 6 (45:56):
I would say it's worked out for both organizations. But
this idea that, well, Joe Burrow must be frustrated with
the Bengals. Can I say this, The Bengals are probably
frustrated with Joe Burrow because it's not like the Bengals
are getting him hurt and it's not. And when I
(46:18):
say frustrated, I don't mean that like, oh, well, there's
you know, they're just getting No, they're frustrated with the situation.
It's outside of their control. The Bengals aren't responsible for
the fact that Joe Burrow has suffered injuries during the
course of his career, Like he suffered a ton of
injuries that had nothing to do with the Bengals. You
(46:39):
want to blame the first knee injury on Joe Burrow
when he was a rookie or on the Bengals when
Joe Burrow is a rookie, that's fine, go ahead, But
like what about the other stuff. That's just football. The
Bengals aren't responsible for that. That's just football, Like that's
just bad luck. And so this idea that man, Joe
(47:01):
Burrow's frustrated and he's frustrated with the organization and he's
frustrated with losing. Man, if I'm a Bengals fan, if
I'm the Bengals, I'm frustrated too. Like it feels like
we're on the doorstep of doing something great and something
always goes wrong. It's like the Chargers. Ask a Chargers fan, like,
I'll say it right now, there's a reason why the
(47:24):
Chargers are the underdog that they are against the Chiefs. Yeah,
you know, justin Herbert's banged up and all that stuff.
But if you looked at what happened on Monday Night football,
that was a real gutty performance and win by the Chargers.
And what do the Chargers normally do after something like that?
They normally always have a letdown almost always. Remember that
(47:45):
game where they dominated Pittsburgh on Sunday night and Aaron,
they were impressive. What happened the next week they got
knifed by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Game wasn't close. They were embarrassed.
Like there are certain teams in the NFL where you're like, man,
something always happens, Like the Chargers always have an injury.
There's some all like this year, multiple offensive line injuries,
(48:09):
the Bengals are the same organization. Something always goes wrong,
there's always a problem, And when there wasn't and they
went on a little bit of a roll, guess what happened.
They're in a super Bowl basically a road game because
it was it so far, and they're in control of
that game and probably should have won that game. So
(48:32):
this idea that Joe Burrow is frustrated with the Bengals organization,
He's frustrated with aspects of man. Some of the frustration
here has nothing to do with the Bengals. That's just
his body failing him at inopportune times. Like are the
Bengals cheap? Yes, everybody knows that. Did the Bengals cut
too many corners? Yes, everybody knows that. But that dude
(48:55):
got a big time contract. They paid and extended both
his top receivers. It's not like they haven't done anything
for him. They have. He just hasn't been healthy enough
long enough for them to make runs at this like
him getting hurt this year. Like Zach Taylor, his strategy worked.
(49:17):
Let's play our guys in the preseason, Let's, you know,
knock off any rusts that we might have and let's
be ready and more prepared for the opening of the season,
and they were, and guess what happened something because it
always does with the Bengals, just like it always does
with certain organizations in the NFL, like the Chargers, the Jets,
like the Bengals are just in that spot. So him
(49:40):
being frustrated, I get it, But in this scenario, in
this situation, I don't think you put that frustration on
the Bengals. That's just his body failing him. Cincinnati really
doesn't have anything to do with that.
Speaker 3 (49:51):
That's just bad luck.
Speaker 6 (49:52):
He was injured, you know, in college, Like there was
stuff that happened in college. So this idea that you know,
the Bengals are the culprit here, I know it's an
easy target and I've taken my shots at the Bengals
as well too, But that isn't what this is. And
it's definitely not Joe Burrow once out or wants to
quit football or wants to bail it. No, like the
(50:13):
guy's just yeah, he's frustrated, man, because we thought we
had the right approach this year and here we are
in Week fifteen and we're playing for a slim chance
to get into the postseason. And I got news for
you that slim chance ended last year in Buffalo in
the snow last week in Buffalo, and Joe Burrow thrown
back to back inter stuff like that's that stuff doesn't
happen except to certain organizations than it did last week

us as again is always on the iHeart Radio app. Right,
it's coming up next here. You know, there's something in
the NFL. There's a story out there that just doesn't
quite add up. You know, it just doesn't quite add up.
Something seems a little bit fishy. We'll get into that
(50:56):
for you here on FSR Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio
coming up a little over ten minutes from now. Sometimes
simple is better, you know, just simple. You don't need
things to be so elaborate, even during the holidays. You know,
sometimes simple is better. And there's something that has currently
taking place in the world of football that does that,
(51:18):
maybe more.
Speaker 3 (51:19):
So than anybody else.
Speaker 6 (51:20):
Will get into that for you a little over ten
minutes from now. By the way, a lot of positive
feedback here on the show.

positive Philip Rivers is older than Johnny Unitas in that picture.

Mike Tomlin, after we got reports that TJ. Watt earlier
this week, a couple of days ago, was going to
(53:34):
be going into the hospital, you know, with lung issues,
Mike Tomlin spoke with the media in Pittsburgh following that
and had this to say.
Speaker 5 (53:45):
I'm a little bit, you know, cautious about what I
say because I'm not a medical expert. But to make
a long story short, he was experiencing some discomfort when
he was at the facility yesterday and so we took
him to the doc and you know, they're going through
some procedures. He stayed overnight in the hospital. He has
a lung situation that's being addressed. I think he has
(54:08):
some testing and so forth ahead of him this afternoon,
and that's all I know at this juncture. He and
I communicated last night. He was comfortable, and that's all
I have really at this point, can you tell? His
status for Monday night is really up in the air.
I think what transpires this afternoon is going to provide
more information for us.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
I just don't have a lot as I stand here today.
Speaker 3 (54:27):
All right, So that's Mike Tomlin on Thursday.
Speaker 6 (54:32):
Immediately I thought to myself, something's up, something doesn't make
sense here. And what really tipped me off to go
in that direction was the fact that in the initial
reports it was stated that the NFLPA has been notified
of the issue. The fact that the NFLPA was brought
(54:55):
into this makes me wonder at the time, Okay, what
really happened? What's going on here? Was this sort of
an injury that took place at the facility?
Speaker 2 (55:03):
Was this?
Speaker 6 (55:05):
And of course that's exactly what it was. So TJ.
Watt has surgery Thursday to repair a partially collapsed lung
that he sustained after a dry needling session at the
team practice facility on Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (55:20):
Okay, so now he's you.
Speaker 6 (55:22):
Know, he's gonna expected back this season, but obviously he's
gonna miss Monday night's game. And here's the problem with
this story that even though we come to find out
that you have something was a little suspect about it
from the get go, and my assumptions were correct. It
still doesn't make sense because if you talk to like
(55:43):
doctor David Chow did a deep dive on this on
social media, friend of Fox Sports Radio, doctor David Chow
does a deep dive on this and even and doctor
Chow says, look, man, like that's like, I don't I
don't understand how that's even possible, Like rye needling are
these tiny little needles that you would have to go
(56:04):
so far down through the muscle and the tissue and
everything to injure a lung, Like it doesn't make sense,
Like the initial story doesn't add up, and this one
doesn't add up. It's really odd. And I don't know
if we're ever going to get the true story or
we're ever gonna get the full story. But it's one
(56:24):
of those things, and one of those times where like
you know, somebody's not telling you the truth, and then
when they finally fess up that they're not telling you
the truth, the secondary story doesn't sound realistic either, you
know what I mean, Like it just and so you
know they're you know, like now, well you know he's
in the hospital, and it's like, well, you know, we're glad,
(56:46):
and yeah, listen, you're glad it's nothing more serious, but
you do want to know, like what happened here? Like
how is this possible? You've got medical professionals weighing in
on social media. You have people looking around and like
and look, we remember, and I guess what's I don't
know if ironic is the right term for this, Like
I don't know if. I don't know if if, but
(57:08):
I mean, I guess what, you know, Like we saw
what happened with Tyrod Taylor and Justin Herbert, Like we
saw how that that happened, how that went down, Like
you saw how Justin Herbert became the starter because Tyrod
Taylor had an issue where he got, you know, his
lung punctured by a needle. Like it's like so like
(57:29):
weird things have happened like this before, but this one
seems different than that. This is acupuncture. These are smaller needles,
Like you would have to really go above and beyond
to have something like this occur. So whatever they're telling us,
even after the fact, doesn't make sense. The initial story
(57:49):
didn't make sense, and this one doesn't make sense. And
it's just another one of those odd, weird stories that
had been infused into the AFC. Like the AFC North
has been bananas all year long. Nobody's been able to project.
Like first of all, everybody thought the division was going
to be great. I mean it was going to be
the best division in football. It hasn't been. All right,
(58:13):
A lot of people assumed that the Baltimore Ravens, myself included,
would be the Super Bowl representative from the AFC, like
that that wasn't a far fetched pick. Like that was
you know, there's a lot of people looked at it
and said, hey, I like Baltimore to make a deep
run this year. Lamar Jackson probably should have won MVP
last year, and like that hasn't happened at all. And
(58:33):
now you're watching the Ravens, you go, oh, they're just
not good, Like they're not good. Lamar Jackson's not healthy
and let's be honest, he hasn't looked healthy this entire year.
Same thing with Joe Burrow on the Bengals. I mean
the Bengals and were a popular pick. They were you know,
this is a team that's going to make a run.
Et cetera, et cetera. And the Bengals are sitting here,
They're going to be in the outside looking in again.
(58:55):
The Cleveland Browns, I mean, this is kind of what
you expected. But the shit or Sanders experience to Dylan
Gabriel trading Joe Flacco in the division, Joe Flacco going
to Cincinnati, Kevin Stefanski being puzzled as to why they
would do that, Miles Garrett having the season, he's at
it like the Pittsburgh Steelers with Aaron Red like it's
just been a weird year for the AFC North. And
(59:17):
then this one sort of is the cherry on the Sunday.
It doesn't add up. The initial story seems suspect. This
secondary story also seems suspect. And you can accuse me
of being a conspiracy theorist, and oh you're just looking
for like it's like no, I you know, when something
(59:38):
doesn't sound right. Somebody could be telling you a story
and you're hearing them tell you this story and you're like, yeah,
that doesn't add up. The initial story didn't add up,
and this one did neither. So maybe someday eventually we'll
get the real story and the real answers is to
how you collapse somebody's lung of TJ Watts size with
(01:00:00):
tiny needles, dry needling to relieve pressure. Like maybe someday
we'll hear the real story, but as of yet, I
don't think we've heard it. At the Jonas Knocks on
X at Jonas knock Show on Instagram.
Speaker 9 (01:00:13):
I'm glad to be there for you, Jonas. You you
take a minute. This has happened to me on many occasions.
Uh once, sorry Tano chips. No, I think I just
got dry needled.
Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
Sorry about that. I mean, I just don't think your
eye radio.
Speaker 9 (01:00:30):
I don't think your audience is appreciative of the extra
mile that you go to give them perspective.
Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
You were just dry needled in the lung.
Speaker 9 (01:00:40):
Abort mission in order to accurately speak on the issue,
and yet you get all these tweets.
Speaker 6 (01:00:48):
I mean, look, I'm a I'm a method actor. I
really like to live the role.
Speaker 3 (01:00:52):
So I wanted to get the dry needling done on
the air. Let me take a.
Speaker 6 (01:00:56):
Sip of my copy, please do for that segment.
Speaker 3 (01:00:58):
Please do, And then you know here we are no
that that happened to me.
Speaker 9 (01:01:04):
I will never ever again have potato chips at halftime
of a game ever ever again?
Speaker 3 (01:01:10):
Oh yeah, I love the hard way.
Speaker 6 (01:01:13):
The worst one I had was I was doing updates
years ago and I went during a break to Buffalo
Wild Wings across the street at the Gallery of course
and got mango hobb and arrow wings. I love their
boneless mango hobbin arrow wings and tried to do an
update afterwards. Awful if I could not talk, couldn't talk,
could hardly breathe, like it was a bad spot.
Speaker 3 (01:01:35):
It wasn't, you know.
Speaker 6 (01:01:36):
I mean, it was way worse than what just happened.
But they listen just.
Speaker 9 (01:01:40):
More big curiosity makes me want to ask, what was
the culprit this time? No, I just felt a little
dry throats. But we'll go with dry needling, like just
so just so people know that we're about this life.
We'll go dry need because you would, you would do that.
That is what we call participatory journalism. Elsewhere, a bunch
(01:02:00):
of journalists spoke with Arizona State head coach Kenny Dillingham,
who told them that he has not had any conversations
with Michigan about its head coaching job. Dillingham then went
on to become emotional when talking about how much he
loved it at Arizona State. The following audio here courtesy
of Jacob Brooks of Sun Devil Source.
Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
And I still have not had any contact myself anybody.
I mean, I love this place.
Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
Like I said, my.
Speaker 7 (01:02:30):
Was that a longing?
Speaker 6 (01:02:30):
A pause?
Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
But this place is just it's a special.
Speaker 9 (01:02:34):
Place to get so that audio will either age well
or it will not age well.
Speaker 3 (01:02:39):
There's no in between.
Speaker 6 (01:02:40):
Okay, So didn't he like they're restructuring the deal and
he's going to stick around there and all that stuff,
because there was some people that had him rumored as
being the Michigan the next Michigan coach, that he was
going to be one of the guys that they were targeted. Sure,
and it's like, are we at the point with college
football to where like when a job opens up, it's
(01:03:01):
just like, let's go around and start making betting odds
for like, how do we like if here's the one lead?
If he's not interested in leaving whyd f was his
name even brought up as a potential candidate unless his
agent is the one you know doing this so you
can get a raise, Like it just it feels like
there's a lot of agents that have a lot of
influence in college football, maybe more so now than it.
Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
Heavens yes, heavens yes.
Speaker 9 (01:03:23):
However, I don't know the ins and out of it
with with his particular agent, but just among random fans
out there on social media, I think he would be
an excellent candidate considering the job he did at Arizona State.
But uh, the only industry where the lobbying is more
is more aggressive might be in broadcasting than coaching, as
(01:03:45):
you might know. You think so, yeah, I mean, I mean,
I mean when when someone is lobbying for a job
on the steps of a church after a dead broadcaster's funeral,
and that wasn't me, but I know who it was.
Speaker 6 (01:03:56):
Who I'm gonna tell you later? No nor sorry now, no,
hold on, hold on? What do you mean what happened?
Speaker 2 (01:04:04):
There's a lot of.
Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
NFL injury news that I need to I need to
get to. Sorry, sorry to text you later.
Speaker 6 (01:04:10):
No, no, do not.
Speaker 3 (01:04:11):
We can't do that.
Speaker 6 (01:04:12):
You gotta do it on the air.
Speaker 3 (01:04:14):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (01:04:14):
I just I just nearly passed out on the air
getting dry needles. You've got to be share some of
that story.
Speaker 3 (01:04:20):
Okay.
Speaker 9 (01:04:20):
So there was a broadcaster in this industry who passed away,
and one broadcaster, not me, UH made an overture for
the job while literally the broadcaster their body.
Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
Was not cold. I mean, I'll be honest.
Speaker 9 (01:04:40):
And another one UH lobbied for the job on the
steps of the church at.
Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
That individual's funeral. That's all. That's all.
Speaker 9 (01:04:47):
No, no, no, I will not answer further questions for
what I just said. I will not answer for the
questions the Lakers text you, I'll text you later. Come on, wait,
wait to.
Speaker 6 (01:04:57):
Let the listeners it was it after Chick Curt told
the story.
Speaker 3 (01:05:01):
I have absolutely no comment. I just I just told
the story.
Speaker 9 (01:05:05):
I will not offer any further details of your lucky
I've got to get I'll tell.
Speaker 6 (01:05:10):
You what I heard. I'll tell you what I heard
because I don't care. I'll swim in the mud. I
don't care.
Speaker 3 (01:05:14):
What I had heard was that, and this is from
the late.
Speaker 6 (01:05:17):
Great Frank Frank Pollack Fox Sports radio legend. What I
what I had heard is that, you know, potentially Kevin
Harlan was was very vocal about wanting certain a certain
gig back in the day. That's what I had heard
from from the late great Frank Pollock. Again, I don't
(01:05:37):
know if that's it is not.
Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
It is not.
Speaker 9 (01:05:40):
It is not him. It is not that job. That's
all I'm saying. How daarier?
Speaker 2 (01:05:46):
All right?
Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
How dare you?
Speaker 6 (01:05:48):
I'm just that's but again no, so it was Rob Parker.
Speaker 2 (01:05:53):
I knew it was.
Speaker 3 (01:05:57):
All right. Can I get the train back on the
train here all right?
Speaker 9 (01:06:00):
NFL media reports Philip Rivers will start at quarterback tomorrow
for the Indianapolis Colts at Seatle. Colts today officially signed
Rivers to their active roster from their practice squad. Green
Bay Packers added running back Emmanuel Wilson to their injury
report for tomorrow's game at Denver due to illness. Running
Back Josh Jacobs already questionable due to a knee injury.
The Detroit Lions downgraded safety Thomas Harper to out for
(01:06:22):
Sunday's game against the Rams due to a concussion. They
also ruled out guard Christian Mahogany due to a leg injury.
The Rams, for their part, activated receiver to two at
well off of injured reserve. And finally, in Major League Baseball,
multiple outlets report that infielder Jorge Polonko has agreed to
a two year forty million dollars deal with the New
(01:06:42):
York Mets. Jonas, have you fully recovered? Oh we're good, Okay, good,
We're good. I was worried there for a split second.
And I know that your allegians of fans will not
have any sarcastic tweets about your difficulties a short time ago.
Speaker 6 (01:06:58):
That to listen is what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
Look, you're doing live radio. You're talking.
Speaker 6 (01:07:02):
You know, sometimes you take a sip, goes down the
wrong pipe. You know what happens.
Speaker 9 (01:07:07):
Oh, you've already yeah, you've already got You've already got
a reaction about.
Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
Your little incident. It was not very not very sympathetic
back to you.
Speaker 6 (01:07:17):
Well, they broadcast professional here. That's what goes down. You know,
I don't know what to tell you. All right, Thank you, Isaac.
It is Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio. By
the way, the original Louisiana Hot Sauce is the perfect
balance of Pepper's vinegar, an salt, wings, nachos, burgers, hit
any tailgate food with the bold handcraft and flavor of
the original Louisiana Hot Sauce. That's Louisiana Hot.
Speaker 3 (01:07:36):
Buy you some. We are going to have another edition
of Knox Locks.
Speaker 6 (01:07:39):
It's the week fifteen edition coming up here in about
twelve minutes from now. I did want to mention this
one thing I do love about the Army Navy game,
because we had a guy calling earlier and say, thank
God for Army and Navy for protecting us from having
to listen to this show, which is fair, that's fine.
I don't blame you, that's fine. But the one thing
(01:08:00):
I would say about Army Navy, it's just football. Like,
you know the history of the tradition, you know how
special the game is, you know, like it's just but
the fact that it's just football, Like there's no like
you know, Instagram story that's out there, there's no cheating allegation,
(01:08:21):
there's no like, you know, a security guard working in
the tunnel that like assaults a player for walking through
the Do you just think about all the weird stories
that we've done on this show in real time during
college football games. We opened up the year with Ohio
State Texas and the story that made the rounds in
(01:08:42):
that game was whether or not Ryan Day had his
nipple pierced. We were on the air for that. We
had Isaac Lohenkron googling nipple piercing parlors in Columbus, Like
we've like there's been so many weird, random stories the
ball boy or like ball guy on the sideline that
(01:09:05):
was trying to got in a fight with a player
trying to keep the ball, like just all these with
Army Navy, it's none of that, Like there's some pageantry,
there's respect. It's just football. It doesn't mean any of
these guys are gonna play beyond this level or have
an amazing career or anything like that. Most of them
undersize in comparison to what you see every single Saturday
(01:09:27):
around the world of college football. But it's like there's
no bs, there's no drama. It's just football, like in
its simplest form, And I think that's what makes it
so appealing. Like sometimes they just don't throw the ball,
you know what, Like we're just not gonna throw the ball, okay,
And then when they do, it's like, you know, in
(01:09:49):
a desperate situation on a like a third and eight
feels like a daunting task. Meanwhile, you see, you know,
teams convert like it's just it's at its simplest form,
it's just football. No thrills, no drama, no garbage, no
extra curriculars, nothing you need to worry about off the
field other than just ball and the respect that we
(01:10:11):
have for them and they have for each other. It's
awesome at the Jonas Knox on X at Jonas Knox
Show on Instagrams, where you can find us on IG
and up next, we are going to close up shop
with the week fifteen edition of Knox Locks and it's
yours here on FSR. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio coming
up top of next hour a little over fifteen minutes
(01:10:32):
from now, make sure you stick around. Alex Curry Karma
Vitali will be taking over the airwaves. They'll have you
covered here on FSR. By the way, Tim Kates, the
Great Tim Kats, the voice of AM five to seven
e LA Sports the Blowtorch is listening and Isaac, I mean,
(01:10:52):
he's demanding answers. I don't know if Isaac Longcron is
still with us, but Tim Kates is demanding answers for.
Speaker 3 (01:10:58):
What it's worth.
Speaker 9 (01:11:00):
Ever tell, wasn't that a line by the from Britney
Murphy in that movie?
Speaker 6 (01:11:04):
Huh?
Speaker 3 (01:11:05):
I'll never tell?
Speaker 6 (01:11:06):
Like Isaac Longkrawn talk about a tea. You really are
the stripper of sports talk radio. Wait to not pay
off your teases, like we're all sitting around in bike
shorts at a strip club, you know, at requesting November
rain because it's going to make the laugh dance last longer.
And Isaac departs midway through, like you tell everybody, Oh,
I know a broadcaster that was, you know, campaigning for
(01:11:28):
the guy who just died's job. It wasn't one, it
was two, it was multiple. Can you give us a
hint at least? No, we're talking about here? No, oh man,
you're no fun. All right, Well, listen, I tried Tim
and I tried everybody a right. I did my part,
but some interrogations are a little harder than others, right,
So hit up Isaac if anybody wants to know. I
(01:11:51):
don't know. I don't know what to tell you.
Speaker 3 (01:11:52):
All right.
Speaker 6 (01:11:53):
So we are going to have the week fifteen edition
of Knox Locks coming up here in just a couple
of moments from now. But if you've missed of today's show,
you'll want to catch the podcast search the Fox Sports
Radio wherever you get your podcast. Right after the show,
Today's pot will be posted, so be sure to follow
it rated five stars. You can even provide a review.
Speaker 3 (01:12:10):
Again.
Speaker 6 (01:12:11):
Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcast,
you'll find today's full show and a best version posted
right after we get off the air.
Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
Locked it, Let's lock it, Knox locks all.
Speaker 6 (01:12:24):
Right, So I mentioned this early in the show. We
got to talk about last week, all right, we got
to talk about last week because I feel like, no complaints.
All Right, I'm not gonna sit here and cry about it,
but I feel like, you know, we were really like
we were on the right side of these bets that
we lost. I'll put it that way, right. So we've
started off with Pittsburgh plus six at Baltimore. I love
(01:12:46):
the Steelers in this spot. I didn't understand how bald
nobody in the AFC North should be favored by six
points over anybody else in the division, arguably anybody else
in the league. It's just been an unwhelming year for
the AFC North in a lot of respects, and so
I love the Steelers getting six points on the road.
I think Baltimore is done for the season. I honestly do.
(01:13:08):
And that was my Super Bowl pick. I had them
going to the Super Bowl. I don't like the way
the Ravens look. I don't think Lamar Jackson has been
healthy all year, and I don't want to, you know,
jump to conclusions and just assume that this is going
to be the end of Lamar Jackson in his prime,
because I still think he's a great player and a
great talent. But they haven't looked right. So the Steelers
plus six we got to win. Felt great about that.
(01:13:28):
Then we pushed at lambeau Field. Same thing. I didn't
think the Bears would win that game, but I thought
they would keep it within seven. They were a seven
point underdog at the Packers. Caleb Williams throws a late
interception that was you know, that one hurt a little bit,
but it was a push, all right, So at least
we're sitting with a push, and then all you know,
I really the game I felt best about of all
(01:13:50):
of them was the Eagles minus two and a half
of the Chargers, and then we saw what happened, just
a full blown meltdown. It even seemed like when Philly
had the ball late that they weren't going for a tie.
They were going to try and score the touchdown and
win that game. Like there were so many opportunities to
sit here and go two to zero to one last week,
(01:14:12):
and unfortunately Jalen Hurts that abysmal performancy at a quarterback
cost us that one. So we looked at another one
one and one week. We've done that. I believe two
of the last three weeks one win, one loss, one push.
Speaker 3 (01:14:27):
It puts us at.
Speaker 6 (01:14:27):
Twenty two eighteen and two on the season and brings us.
Speaker 2 (01:14:31):
To this though, Raiders at Eagles.
Speaker 6 (01:14:35):
I'm going back to the well like Philly here, I
will take the Philadelphia Eagles in this spot, and I'll
take the Philadelphia Eagles minus eleven and a half.
Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
I know it's a lot of points.
Speaker 6 (01:14:46):
I get it, And I know when you look at
that Eagles offense, you go, man, I mean, can you
really trust the Eagles alone to score eleven points, let
alone beat somebody by that many. The defense showed up.
The defense was not the problem on Monday Night football.
But I look at this and I go, man, I
really really like Philly to lay it on the Raiders.
(01:15:06):
Like they got rid of the positivity rabbit, they got
rid of that crap that's out the door. They're sitting
here looking at their season and they're thinking to themselves,
we don't like our quarterback. Our fans are complaining and crying.
It's been a messo. I like Philly big time in
this game. Kenny Pickett's getting the start. They know Kenny Pickett,
they know his strengths. He was there last year. I
(01:15:28):
think the Eagles put it on the Raiders. I think
this is a get right game for Philly and they
do it at home. I like Philly minus eleven.
Speaker 2 (01:15:34):
And a half Ravens at Bengals.
Speaker 6 (01:15:38):
I'm going to take the Bengals getting three points at
home again. I just don't think Baltimore has it this year.
We'ren't Week fifteen like this idea that well, no, no,
they can figure it out. No stop. Like there's a
reason why the Ravens are in this spot at this
point in the season because it's not good. And I'm
(01:16:01):
not saying that Cincinnati is great. But with Joe Burrow
out there talking and people jump into conclusions and saying, oh,
he once out of Cincinnati or he doesn't want to
play football anymore, I think Joe Burrow is gonna come
out and be like, all right, enough of this craft,
Like this is ridiculous. People are being way too dramatic
over me just having an honest conversation with some people
in the media in the middle of the week in
(01:16:23):
a lost season here in Cincinnati. Let me go out
and show everybody why they brought me back on Thanksgiving
because it was to do to the Ravens. What I'm
gonna do this Sunday. I like Cincinnati, and I like
Cincinnati getting three points at home.
Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
Panthers at Saints.
Speaker 6 (01:16:38):
I'm going Carolina. This is their opportunity. This is your opportunity.
You're a two and a half point favorite. You're on
the road against the Saints. New Orleans is feeling real
good about things because they beat Tampa Bay last week.
They stunned Tampa Bay, sent Tampa Bay into a little
bit of a tailspin. The Bucks show up on Thursday night,
(01:16:59):
you got top Bulls calling out players, Baker Mayfield blaming himself,
and here are the Carolina Panthers in Week fifteen leading
the NFC South. This is their opportunity. If you like
Dave Canalis like I do, if you root for Bryce
Young like I do, I'm hopeful that the Carolina Panthers
as a slight two and a half point favorite can
(01:17:21):
make a statement in this game over the awful New
Orleans Saints. I will take the Panthers on the road
to New Orleans. And that is your Week fifteen edition.
Speaker 2 (01:17:30):
Of Not.
Speaker 6 (01:17:34):
Knocks.
Speaker 3 (01:17:36):
By the way, I feel awful about all those picks.
Speaker 2 (01:17:38):
Well, I'll tell you what I know.
Speaker 3 (01:17:39):
It's the dumbest I ever heard of.
Speaker 6 (01:17:41):
I'm with you, Mike, I listen, I don't feel great
about any of those picks. We're at the point of
the season, like everybody's got like things that they're striving for.
All right, there's certain teams in the NFL, Like there's
certain coaches out there that're just striving to not get fired.
There's certain players out there that are just trying to
reach you know, the INCC lives in their contract, certain catches,
(01:18:02):
rushing yards, etc. I just want to finish above five hundred.
That's all. That's all. That's all I'm looking for. And
so when there's opportunity to create separation, and you have
Philly going lay an egg at the world's largest gazebo,
Sofi Stadium on Monday Night against Justin Herbert in his
one hand, like Justin Herbert was Jamie Lanister in that
game from Game of Thrones and the Eagles still couldn't cover.
(01:18:24):
Like that's frustrating. So hopefully we bounce back this week
and we've got another winning week. But I feel awful
about all those picks, so do with it what you will.
It's been a fun Saturday show. Thanks to Isaac Lohenkron,
thanks to Chris Purfett, thanks to Bo Benz, and thanks
