Speaker 5 (00:27):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Okay, I'm a part of this world. So it's almost
(00:49):
as if the NFL has embraced something that somebody else
has been doing for quite some time. We'll get into
that for you coming up here in just a couple
of mon homuch from now Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio.

So one of the things that I noticed in being
in New Orleans. And there's plenty of tales to tell
and plenty of stories in different aspects of New Orleans,
and we will be discussing on this show. We will
go in depth as to some of the peaks and
(01:55):
valleys of Super Bowl Week in New Orleans. But one
of the things that I did notice is that it
felt like a lot of the discussion and a lot
of the conversation was surrounding debates or controversies. It seemed
like it was the tush push, It was the officials
(02:20):
and the Kansas City chiefs and maybe favoring them. It
was the MVP votes. It was like it felt like
that was a lot of the discussion and a lot
of the conversation about what is leading up to the
biggest game of the year and the biggest game in sports.
And you know, for the record, it's also kind of
(02:42):
like a projected to be a competitive game. It's basically
about even it's not like, you know, Kansas City is
going to walk in there and the expectation is it's
just going to be a foregone conclusion. Maybe we'll get
a blowout, who the hell knows, but we do have
like a competitive, really good matchup at super Bowl fifty
(03:03):
nine coming up on Sunday. But a lot of the
discussion was about like, well, you know, the the chiefs
favoring getting favorable calls and you know, the Tush push,
and there gonna be some change the MBP votes. And
then I started to think about it because now they're
(03:25):
letting everybody know when it comes to the MVP votes
and the AP votes out there, like who's the one
doing the voting. Tom Pellisero basically called out why certain
members of NFL media aren't allowed to be a part
of the votes. You've got other members kind of saying, oh, well, look,
you know what, maybe if we could get it, and
(03:46):
I just it sort of dawned on me. I think
the NFL's at a point now to where they realize,
you know what, some of this controversy, some of these
debates and are arguments and discussions, all this is is
another aspect of what is going to grow our game.
(04:09):
It really is. And you can say whatever you want
about NBA culture and people to cover the NBA. One
of the things that they have done from the get
go is always embraced the debate discussion about their league.
Who's the goat Jordan or Lebron, Who's the best team
(04:30):
of all time? Who's And it's because they've got so
many games to cover and time to fill and kill
stars opting out not playing certain nights. You've got to
create discussion points to try and keep the keep the
(04:52):
product in the ether, keep people discussed having conversations about it,
pushing the league forward, branching. You've got to do that
because you don't have a choice. And it's almost as
if the NFL said, look, the seasons are getting longer.
(05:12):
We know what we've got. It's another super Bowl with
the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. We kind
of have a thought that listen. As Aaron Rodgers said
before the year, there's usually about eight to twelve teams
that could legitimately win a Super Bowl, if not less
than that. Everybody else we're just trying to find our footing,
(05:34):
hope for something positive, or be so bad that we
get the number one pick in the draft. And I
think the NFL, and I think people that cover the
NFL have looked at it and said, why don't we
just go down that road a little bit, Why don't
we start wrapping our arms around these controversies instead of
getting so uptight about it. No, let's have a discussion.
(05:57):
Why not. Let's have that talk. Uck, let's find out
who voted for who. We've never done that before. Why not.
Why don't we have that little kick in the ass,
a little something that change pays from what we normally do,
Because that was a big part of the narrative going
(06:17):
into this game being out there all week was controversies, debates,
And I've said it before, I think the when you
start to factor in some of the rules that need
to be changed that don't make any sense whatsoever. Whether
it's the ball going out of the end zone and
you losing possession and the other team getting it at
(06:39):
the twenty, which makes zero sense at any level whatsoever.
Nobody can explain that correctly. Nobody can make sense of
that at all. Why you aren't able to challenge more
things than you can what I think the NFL has
slowly started to realize, did these controversies are good now?
(07:00):
If it gets so egregious, and if it gets to
the point to where, okay, the fix really is in,
or hey, we got some guys that are, you know,
pulling a Johntay Porter and actually gambling and fixing games, Like,
if that's where we get to, then they step in
and they put a stop to it. The NFC Championship
(07:22):
game egregious Miscall, Okay, all right, let's do something about it.
You can challenge past interference the next day. But if
it's not really to that point and this really is
just about a discussion, or you see it one way,
I see it the other. I think the NFL is
starting to wrap their arms around it. I think they
don't mind the controversies, and I think they like the
(07:45):
fact that there's discussions debates. You've got people publicly that
cover the NFL bitching and moaning they don't have a
vote for the MVP. I cover the NFL. I couldn't
care less if I had a vote. Who cares the
fact that this is becoming public fodder, that people are
talking about this out loud. I think the NFL has
(08:08):
seen that aspect of it, that aspect of the discussion
that a lot of people have taken to try and
milk as much NBA content as you can over a
long season in which majority of the games don't matter.
And this is the latest development being there all week
that the NFL has wrapped their arms around. This is
the next stage and next phase of covering the league.
(08:30):
Jonas Noxi or Fox Sports Radio. Now that being said,
God's speed to the people in New Orleans that are
still out there covering the game. God's speed to the
people in New Orleans that are still out there or
arriving there to go watch the game or just take
in super Bowl Week, because I can tell you there
(08:53):
normally is a slow build when you're at Super Bowl Week,
when it comes to these different venues, like you'll see Monday,
you get there, it's just kind of like the calm
before the storm. Not everything's even all that set up.
Like we were at Radio Row for two pros at
the convention center there. We didn't even have chairs the
first day, Like they're still building this thing as it
(09:15):
goes along, and then Tuesday comes around, it's kind of
your typical We're starting to see a couple of more
people Wednesday comes around there By the time we were
leaving Friday, chaos was about to ensue. You could walk
down the French Quarter, you could walk down all of
those streets that are famous and all that, and I
(09:35):
did it, and there was like some people out and
it was jumping, because it always is, But it wasn't
like this mass of humanity. And I'm telling you this
right now, the one thing that that city I can
attest to is going to do is no matter the result,
if you are a Chiefs fan that arrived in New
(09:55):
Orleans because you want to see history, or you're an
Eagles fan that's arriving in New Orleans because you just
want to be a part of another Super Bowl potentially,
and you thought, hey, this is as good a place
as ever. Let's get out of the cold and let's
go to someplace where it's seventy seven and humid. There
is going to be something for you. That place has
got options everywhere you look. You stand downtown New Orleans
(10:21):
on a street corner and you can either see a bar,
a pub, a place that serves drinks, a place that
will give you drinks to go. It's going to have
you covered. So for anybody that is still out there,
the massive humanity was not there all around you while
you were a part of it. But if you were
(10:43):
looking for that, have fun. And I'll say this, whoever's
trying to catch a flight on Monday morning, good luck
with that because that place is going to be absolute chaos.
So we are here. It is Super Bowl weekend. It's
been a long two weeks since the last time we
saw an NFL game. And no, I'm not counting whatever
the Pro Bowl thought it was. What a disgrace whatever
(11:06):
they've done to that game. Super Bowl fifty nine is
finally here this weekend, and whoever's left over New Orleans,
have fun because it doesn't look anything like it did
just a few days ago. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports
Radio at D Jonas Knox on X at D Jonas
Knox and X. So we are gonna have the usuals
(11:26):
coming up. Later on. We do have another edition of
Do You Care At the end of this hour. We're
also gonna close up shop with Knox Locks. That'll be
the official Super Bowl fifty nine pick, final Knox lock
of the year. That'll be yours as we close up
shop an hour or two. All of it is yours
here from the tire raq dot Com studios. But there
(11:47):
is something that you know is going to happen. You
know this is going to happen in the game. You
know it because you do the exact same thing. I'll
tell you what that is next. Jonas is counted today.

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. Coming up, we'll call it
a little over ten minutes from now here from the
ti Raq dot com studios. There is something, a practice
that is going to be taking place this weekend just
doesn't really make a whole hell of a lot of
sense if we're being honest, and I'll probably be partaking
in it. We love it, we do it every year.
We'll explain what that is again, coming up here a
(12:37):
little over ten minutes from now so, let me ask
you a question. If you were accused of something, if
somebody made a claim against you or an accusation against you,
even if it was not true at all, totally baseless,
(12:57):
wouldn't there be a natural reaction or natural tendency to
want to prove that wrong, Like if you came home
and your wife accused you or your better half accused you,
like have you been drinking? And let's say you had
been drinking, but you shouldn't have been. Wouldn't you like
(13:20):
try really hard to overcorrect, you know, like, wouldn't you
try really hard to like no, no, no, no, I wasn't drinking. No,
of course not. Cop sees you on your phone when
you're not supposed to be on your phone when you're driving, Like,
wouldn't all of a sudden you start driving like you're
driving proper and like, no, let me straighten up. You
(13:40):
know ten and two, you know, write the speed limit
like you're going ten fifteen miles an hour. Over All
of a sudden, you see you know, some lights in
the background. You go, oh, let me So, there's just
that natural tendency to overcorrect, like when you want to
prove that something's not true, there's a natural tendency to overcorrect.
(14:02):
And one of the things that has been talking that
we've been talking about and that's been discussed for quite
some time, that's really started to pick up some momentum.
And we kind of mentioned the controversies that debates all
that stuff, but it is this discussion about officials favoring
Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City. Roger Goodell spoke about it
(14:24):
this week while in New Orleans getting ready for the
Super Bowl and talked about this quote unquote bias for
the Chiefs.
Speaker 6 (14:31):
I think the men and women that officiate in the
NFL are outstanding. They have the highest possible standards. That's
ridiculous theory for anyone who might take it seriously, But
the end of the day, you know, it's something we
always have to continue to work on. How do we
make our officiating better at all times. And if you
(14:51):
look at the Chiefs record, which I think is an
amazing thing. People talk about the competitive's are league. The
Chiefs with their fifteen wins fifteen and two this year,
eleven of those fifteen games were within one score, and
I think that talks about the competitiveness of our game
and the importance of how we officiate it, but also
(15:12):
the competitiveness of how we play it.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
So that was Roger Goodell talking about the favoritism or
the bias that referees or officials showed towards the Kansas
City Chiefs. You're probably thinking, well, he's the commissioner. He's
going to be asked that why wouldn't he talk about it? Okay.
Patrick Mahomes was asked about it. He discussed it. Andy
Reid's talked about it, Travis Kelsey's talked about it. Scott Green,
(15:39):
he's the NFL Referees Association executive director. He called it
insulting and preposterous to say that the officials would favor
the chiefs if it wasn't true at all, or if
it's that ridiculous and preposterous, I even discuss it, Like
(16:02):
we've heard these debates in these conversations before about New England, Right,
I don't remember New England or I don't remember Scott
Green or whoever the Referees Association executive director was at
that time having to speak publicly about whether or not
officials favored Tom Brady and the Patriots over other teams,
(16:25):
Like I don't recall that off the top of my head.
And those discussions were happening, and you could say, well,
you know they're going to defend themselves. They're going to
that's fine, totally understood, but you know what's going to
happen next, right, because we would all do the same
thing because we would all do the same thing if
we were going ten or fifteen miles an hour over
(16:47):
the speed limit, or all of a sudden, maybe we
were driving the speed limit but a cop was right
behind us. You're going to overcorrect. And I think there's
a real possibility in this game on Sunday, biggest stage
on the planet, with this discussion and this conversation happening
(17:08):
and everybody talking about it, from the guy who runs
the referees Association to the commissioner of the league to
the players involved, I think there's going to be a
natural tendency to overcorrect. They're going to want to show
(17:28):
that none of that is true. And I've said this before,
I think officials get kind of a bad rap. I
think if we're being honest here, they probably get ninety
six ninety seven percent of calls right a game, but
it's always those few that they get called out for.
It's just the truth. Like he had all these officials,
(17:52):
you know, retiring and going into TV, whether it's Mike
Pereira or Dean Blandino, like all these guys just wanted
to get out of the business and just go do
something else or take the TV might like whatever it is,
and it's like, you got you gotta understand, like, at best,
fifty percent of the stadium hate your guts every single
game at the end of that game, at best, and
(18:15):
these are the best in the world. And there's been
funny stuff that's happened, whether it's Tim donnahe and we've
seen you know, Scott Foster accusations and all that stuff,
But by and large those are rarities. Majority of the time,
the officials get these calls, right, the fact that they're
having to speak publicly about this now and defend themselves publicly,
(18:40):
I'm telling you there are going to be points in
this game on Sunday where there's going to be a
natural overcorrection based on all the talking points and all
the noise that are out that's out there. Like Mike
Pereira joined us this week and just said, look, they
hear stuff, like how do you not with the coverage
(19:03):
the NFL gets, with everything surrounding it. You mean to
tell me not one time they haven't heard it. It's
everywhere you look. There's social media accounts that have been
set up to only focus on all the calls that
Patrick Mahomes gets. I mean Mahomes has admitted it as much. Yeah,
you know, I probably shouldn't have taken that dive out
(19:24):
of bounds. The blown call. Troy Aikman called him out
for it, Troy Aikman saying, hell, you know, think about
the gamblers, think about it, like during the broadcast, called
him out. Tom Brady probably can't do that because of
his ties with ownership, But even Tom Brady spoke this
week on Fox and Friends and just said, yeah, I mean, look,
(19:46):
you know, I think this is kind of ridiculous that
the officials that there's this thought that they're being fit.
It is a talking point everywhere you look. You mean
to tell me that the officials on the field in
this game aren't impacted by that. If maybe in the
back of their mind when they're going to make a call,
it's like, you know, it could be it could go
(20:07):
one way or the other. Hey, maybe there's a little
a little grabbing there by a Chiefs defender, but it
wasn't enough to really impact the play. And they're like,
but it is the Chiefs. Like if that was the
Eagles they throw the flag or vice versa, all of
a sudden, they don't throw a flag on a Philly
defender because they're like, yeah, that that's like a real
(20:29):
close call, and there's all this. I just think that's
gonna happen, man, I really do. And I don't know
if that means that it benefits Philly in the long
run in that game, or that it's going to have
an impact in that game, or that it's going to
be a deciding factor. But the idea that all of
these conversations are happening from everybody. It's not just one
(20:51):
discussion and Roger Goodell talking about it. No, You've got
players involved, coach is involved, You've got the guy who
runs the referee Association in the league discussing it. You've
got the guy on the call broadcasting the game having
to talk about it. We're all talking about it. You
mean to tell me none of those officials in that
(21:12):
game are going to want to set the record straight. No, no, no, no,
that's not true. I'm not drunk. Look no, no, I
wasn't speeding. Look tenant, Look at it's gonna happen, and
there's gonna be points in that game where it's gonna
be wow for everybody to thought the Chiefs got the
benefit of the call, even on calls they should get.
(21:35):
There's gonna be one or two, if not more, points
in that game where Philly's gonna benefit from those calls
because of that natural overcorrection that we would all do
if we were in the same exact spot. Jonas Knox
here Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knox on X
at the Jonas Knox on X and you can hang
out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app. So
(21:58):
there is something that's done every single year this weekend
that if you actually just stand back and think about it,
it makes zero sense. Whatsoever makes no sense. We're all
guilty of it. I'll explain what that is right here
on FSR. But for all the latest from around the
world of sports ladies and gentlemen, this is a man
(22:18):
who's thrown sits high atop the mountain of sports talk radio.
To say he's arrogant would be insulting. To say he's perfect,
this is my silk would be accurate. I wanted my
cash beer dressing gown. Please. He is a man who
(22:42):
has headphones with a crown gorilla glued on top of them.
Hang on, I gotta talk to the peasants. Now, you
are nothing more than the gum on his shoe, the
one the only lucky they get to hear the prestigious
Isaac Lohmer. Oh, Hey, how you doing, buddy? How you doing? America?
(23:04):
I talk to you again? Hey, what's happening? Speaking? What's happening?
Speaker 7 (23:09):
This is literally as we speak right now, Jonas So
the Dallas Mavericks at the top of the hour going
to be hosting the Houston Rockets at the American Airline Center.
As we speak, there is a protest going on outside
the American Airlines Center. Happened apparently a player got traded
and they weren't happy about it because their general manager
(23:30):
had a cup of coffee with Rob Polink a few
months ago. So here is some of what's going on,
literally in the last few minutes at the American Airline
outside of the American Airlines Center. And there's a lot
of people there, and a lot of them are dressed up,
and a lot of them are holding up signs. One
(23:53):
fan who has quite a bit of tattoos, is wearing
a Luka Doncic jersey holding up a sign that says,
and I quote, Nico, you dirty snake unquote.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Anyway, let's see.
Speaker 7 (24:08):
They also have a hashtag hashtag l A l S,
which stands for quote life after Luca Sucks. A gentleman
holding up a sign, and someone who appears to be
his daughter holding up a sign that says Year of
the Snake. There's another sign, Nico, where do your loyalties
(24:30):
lie the Lakers? And let's put it this way, Jonas,
those are the signs and chants that I can repeat
over the air.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
So, so what is the the Nico You're a snake?
What is that? I mean? Did they just feel like
they're just name calling or did somebody give him the
nickname the Snake? I mean, like like Jake Roberts.
Speaker 7 (24:51):
You know, Jake the Snake raw but he was cool
man Damien the entrance music.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
Yeah, man. So I'm just wondering, like this Nico is
also his name, Like you know, he's got a nickname
named the Snake. Just calling him a snake? My guess, No, no, no,
there's calling the a snake.
Speaker 7 (25:07):
My guess is it has to do with his pre
existing relationship with Rob Polenka, with you know, their relationship
with Nike and Kobe Bryant, et cetera, et cetera. So
we will continue with protest updates throughout the course of
the afternoon.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
I mean, can I just say this, though, why do
you keep doing this? It's your show and you're asking me?
Can I just see this?
Speaker 4 (25:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (25:28):
But I'm a I'm a believer in being polite to people,
all right, So this is we're all that's where you've
gone wrong. So can we at least just wait to
see how this plays out before we jump to conclusions
like I understand that people look at this and go, okay, look,
generational talent. You build around that guy, you don't build
(25:50):
away from him, like this is a terrible move for
the Dallas like that that it appears that that's what
this is. But I'm willing to just wait a little
bit to see what Anthony Davis and what this new
Mavericks team looks like, so that we can, upon further review,
find out exactly how out of shape Luca was that
(26:11):
they wanted to not go ahead and give him three
hundred and fifty million dollars or whatever.
Speaker 7 (26:15):
See, I think that's fair, But the people outside the
American Airlines Center right now, they might beg to differ.
In fact, one person took the time to create a live,
life sized color cardboard cutout of general manager Harrison and
then affixed a clown nose to his nose and is
(26:37):
now parading him outside the center. Actually, my favorite part
of today's protest. Do you know that meme on social
media of the guy who poses at his enemy's funeral
and he basically says, hey, I went to my enemy's
funeral just to make sure he was dead.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
Remember that? Oh yeah, yeah. A Houston Rockets fan named.
Speaker 7 (27:00):
Judson Merritt has recreated that pose. He is at the
protest today wearing a Rockets jersey with the exact same
pose as the guy from the funeral meme's that's that's
very clever.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
Yeah, that's great. I mean well, I mean a hey, Dallas, relax,
you still have the Cowboys. It's a low blow man.
Speaker 7 (27:23):
Speaking of the speaking of the Lakers, they officially ruled
out Lebron James for today's game against Indiana due to
left ankle. Sornis college basketball fourth ranked Tennessee one in
Oklahoma seventy to fifty. Ninth ranked Michigan State came back
to beat Oregon eighty six to seventy four. Oregon led
at Michigan State at halftime fifty to thirty six, but
the Spartans outscored them fifty to twenty four in the
(27:45):
second half. Finally, Jonas, do me a favorite? Jonas, Yeah,
please don't kill the messenger. Okay, please don't kill the messenger.
On to me, why would I thank you? At the
super Bowl on Friday night, Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift
shared a romantic dinner at the New Orleans restaurant Lilllette,
(28:06):
which bills itself as quote the sexiest restaurant in town,
filled with attractive young couples stealing the odds, smooch on creamy.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Bank quettes unquote.
Speaker 7 (28:18):
CMZ obtained the following audio of the couple arriving at
the restaurant. You're gonna hear some fans saying, hey, I
went to your concert. Taylor was great. You'll hear Taylor
thanking them, and then you will hear Taylor walking up
the steps into the restaurant. Listen, thank you so much.
(28:42):
Among those also dining at Lolette on Friday night, Joe
Montana and actress Jennifer Coolidge, known from, among other roles,
portraying Stiffler's mom. Jonas back to you, I mean thank
you for not killing the messenger. I appreciate you having
mercy on my soul.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
I'm trying to see, uh, because I want to make sure.
I want to see how close this restaurant was to
where we were at. Wait a minute, you didn't need
it Lolette. Let's see. Yeah, that was significantly further away
than any place that that I ate at all.
Speaker 8 (29:13):
Right, I'll say this though, but but if you wanted
to get reservations at Lolllette, you could have and they
would have bumped Travis and Taylor for you.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
That's pretty obvious, right, Yeah, they would ask me to
bust tables too. I'll say this, I had a po
Boy while I was out there, because that was one
of those ya you got to get a po Boy sandwich.
I get a po Boy sandwich. Went up to the hype.
It sucked. Well maybe with the place where you got it,
but no, it's not the place where you got it from.
They just kind of said, yeah, that's what it is.
(29:45):
It's basically just meat cheese piled on a bun. Wait
a minute, pop whole boys have shrimp in them. They
don't have that yet. You can get shrimp, but the
original was like a roast beef, like shredded roast beef
that would pile onto a bun. Is that a cheese steak.
It's like, no, a cheese steaks significantly better, significantly better. Now,
I haven't had one with shrimp. You haven't had a
(30:06):
true Poe boy.
Speaker 1 (30:07):
I had.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
I took a bite, I had some of it. It
wasn't that great. I don't know if you want to
tell that, man. People take the food from where they
come from. Pretty serious. You get enough, You got enough
hate on social media as it is. It's it's just
very overrated. I heard all this, all these conversations about it.
Let's go live to our food got brought up, so
I have a thought on it.
Speaker 3 (30:25):
Inside christ the latest Sorry Bushinger isn't here. But as
a lover of New Orleans, Poe Boy, you can't just
have meat on. I think the one I had at
Mother's had something called debris, which is like it was
like ham, but they'd throw on like scrappings of meat.
But yeah, no, if you haven't had one with like
some fish or oysters or shrimp, you're kind of missing out.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
I had it overrated. I'm sorry. It just felt like
it was the ratio of bread to substance inside the
sandwich not exactly all that great.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Well, I think the I don't know how much lubrication
you had beforehand.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
That says, I mean, it has nothing to do with lubrication.
Like taste is taste all that to stemp their game up.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
All that bread goes down very easy ones after a
couple of hurricanes.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
Oh, I just feel like I feel like, you know,
New Orleans was trying to sell. There was other great
items there. We'll get into later on other great items
at New Orleans. But Poe Boy sandwich, I mean, you
know I could go pick that up at an AMPM
like that. There was nothing that I had. Now you
can go too far point, Yeah, I looked at You're
brave man for saying that. Man really living it is
(31:32):
Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas
Knox on X at the Jonas Knox on X. All right,
so I want to make sure we have full time
for this, So we're going to push this discussion. It
is a Super Bowl discussion, something that happens every single
year at this time that makes zero sense whatsoever. We're
going to get to that top of next hour up
next here though, We are going to have some positive
(31:53):
feedback here on the show. Several storylines in the world
of sports and beyond you have been forced fed over
the past several days. It's another edition of Do You
Care And it's yours next here from the ti rack
dot com studios.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Jonas Knox Foxsports Radio coming up top of next hour,
about fifteen minutes from out here from the ti rack
dot com studios. We are going to talk about an
exercise that takes place every single year at this time.
It makes no sense whatsoever, but when you actually think
about it, it might make you sort of take a
step back and maybe not judge some people who partake
(32:40):
in some of these some of this tomfoolery, if you will.
That'll be yours here again coming up, but it's a
super Bowl story for you here a little over fifteen
minutes from now. A reminder, though you can always check
out this show even win this show and other shows
are not on the air, you can also see it.
It's the youto channel so be sure to check out

it's time for this.
Speaker 4 (33:33):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
Time DMZ reports. Let's get kinky.
Speaker 4 (33:42):
Here's some of the big stories from the last week.
But Jonas, the real question is do you care?
Speaker 2 (33:49):
And for that we turn it over to our executive
producer Patrick sweek and to find out what the hell
people have been talking about all week.
Speaker 5 (33:54):
Pat Well, Jonas, We're gonna go with the thing that
everybody's been talking about this week. Do you care that
Luca Don was traded by the Mavericks for fear he
would turn out like Joel Embiid and was I quote
out of shape?
Speaker 4 (34:08):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (34:08):
Yeah, you have to care? This is one of the
This is going to be a move that people are
going to be monitoring and tracking to see what do
they know that we don't because none of it makes
any sense whatsoever, And the more that you think about it,
you can't find it to make sense. There's been conspiracy
theories thrown out that the Mavericks are trying to move
(34:31):
to Las Vegas. There's been all these other storylines and
potentol it's because of this, and there's ulterior motives, and
there's business interests, whatever you want to try and come
up to concoct any sort of rationale behind it. None
of it makes sense, but it is something in real time.
Everybody scratched their head at. It was one of the
biggest stories early in the week at Super Bowl Week,
(34:55):
So yeah, you have to care about it.
Speaker 5 (34:56):
Next all right, Jess Well, speaking of a head scratcher,
do you care that Tiree Kill who at the end
of the season was insinuating he wanted to leave the
Dolphins has now done a whole one point eighty and
apologized and even told the Dolphins he wants to stay.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
Do you care? Yeah, of course, listen, Hell that's called maturity,
all right. I think that's a guy who realizes, you
know what, maybe I shouldn't just panic and decide I
want adda here if you if we're being honest here,
Tyreek Kill has been better in Miami than he was
in Kansas City. You think I'm lying, Look up the stats.
Look up the numbers. His best years have been in Miami.
(35:35):
But specifically, when Tua is healthy, that's the entire lynchpin
to whether or not the Dolphins can have success. Can
Tua stay healthy if he's on the field, Tyree produces next?
Speaker 6 (35:46):
All right?
Speaker 5 (35:47):
Jonas is the last one on the NBA trade deadline stuff.
But do you care that? Kevin Durant during this trade
deadline reportedly told the Warriors who had an interest in him,
said that he had no interest in reuniting with them
the trade, and he actually gave them the cold shoulder.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
Do you care? Good? Yeah, I do. I was sitting
stick to your guns, all right. A lot of people
say you can be too stubborn. Tyreek Hill, on the
other hand, not too stubborn. Realized he made a mistake.
Kevin Durant's got a little petty in him, all right.
He wanted to prove that he could do it without him.
He's yet to prove that as far as winning a
(36:23):
championship goes. But let's not forget that guy. When he
was there, when they went to the finals, he was
the best player on the floor outside of the one
that he was injured in. Good for Kevin Durant.
Speaker 5 (36:34):
Next, all right, jonas Well, do you care that after
all these years, Miles Garrett has now formally sent a
request to be traded away from the Browns?
Speaker 2 (36:43):
Not really, I mean, look, because I get why he's
looking around, going dude, listen. I know I've been guilty
of some stuff. You know, I beat a guy half
to death with it with my helmet in the middle
of a game. But at least I don't have all
the issues that our quarterback, who has given historic guaranteed
(37:04):
money has. So he can want a trade, he can
ask to be traded, he can go public with it
all he wants. I'll believe it when I see it.
I don't blame him.
Speaker 7 (37:14):
Known.
Speaker 5 (37:14):
Next all right, jonas Well? And Idaho man broke a record,
by how you ask? Well, he bounced table tennis balls
with his mouth off a wall forty seven times, in fact,
in thirty seconds.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
Do you care, christ I just I don't care. By
the I'm with you, Doug. How do you how do
you figure out that this is a skill that you've
that you've somehow picked up through the course of your life,
Like I could understand, you know people that could just
play like oh, you know, you give him a ball
and they throw it. It's like, oh my god, the
(37:49):
kid's got an arm like here, like take take that.
But how does this become something that you go, Oh,
that's what I'm going to get known for, Like they're
going to talk about me on sports talk radio herd
nationwide because I can bounce a ball with my mouth
off a wall forty seven times in thirty seconds. By
(38:09):
the way, that's only thirty seconds of your day. What
the hell do you think the rest of his day
looks like that's the highlight? Like what do you think
the lowest, hardest part of his day is? Like what's
he doing like taking a crap into a flower base
and seeing if he can like grow stuff out of it?
Like none of this I have any interest in whatsoever.
(38:30):
Guy sounds like a weirdo, But congratulations on the record.
Speaker 5 (38:34):
Next, all right, well Jones, let's go with something that's
less weird and more kind of silly. Do you care
that a skateboarding dog breaks the record of skating under
and past about forty human beings allah like a human tunnel,
which means skating between their legs, because he's, you know,
a dog on a skateboard.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Do you care?
Speaker 1 (38:54):
Not?
Speaker 2 (38:54):
Really? But I have a follow up question, yes, is
he actually skating himself? Like? Is he taking one paw
and pushing himself forward like an actual skateboarder? Or did
they like duct tape his his paws on the skateboard
and just push him downhill in between people's legs.
Speaker 5 (39:13):
From what I actually saw, he did. He actually did
one little push with his paws. Yeah, no, like he
did it. He wasn't like, you know, scared her.
Speaker 2 (39:21):
Now, Now are the are the other pause at least
velcrode onto the skateboard or is he like holding on
and stabilizing himself and keeping his balance.
Speaker 5 (39:31):
He's stabilizing himself. He's actually it looks like he's been
trained to like go on this and handle it.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
You know what, I got more respect for him, I
got listen, I got more respect for him, like because
if he was just having his pause duct taped to
a skateboard and being pushed downhill. He's an idiot and
you should dismiss him immediately, like go go put him
on the side of the road with a cardboard box
side that says, dog is dumb. Any taker's next?
Speaker 5 (39:57):
All right, Jones, Well, the Memphis Zoo will set videos
of what elephants take taking big dumps to people's exes
on Valentine's Day? Do you care?
Speaker 2 (40:11):
Like some of these people got to get over these breakups, man,
Like you know that old adage, Like you know, there's
plenty of fish in the sea. There's also plenty of
elephants at the zoo, all right, And if you're looking
for one, New Orleans has got several. Just walk down
Bourbon Street. I was there. I mean, if you just
sit and think about it, it's kind of dumb. It
(40:31):
just is. It doesn't make any sense. But we do
it every single year at this time, and it's gonna
happen more and more throughout the course of this weekend.
We'll get into that for you coming up here in
just a couple of moments from now. Jonas Knox Fox
Sports Radio. You can listen to this show as always
on the iHeartRadio app. You can find us on hundreds
(40:52):
of affiliates all across the country and wherever you are

(41:16):
Tire rack dot com the way tire buying should be.
So there's several great traditions for the super Bowl, all
right now. Some people are some of these are individualized.
You may have a certain snack or menu that you
put together for the Super Bowl. You may watch it
at a certain venue. You may have certain traditions. Listen,
(41:38):
it's Sunday, we go to church, we get some brunch,
we come back, we start grilling, we start drinking, like whatever.
It is. Like, everybody's got like certain super Bowl traditions.
The one thing, though, that I think majority of us
have in common is that we do this thing that
doesn't really make a whole hell of a lot of sense.
(41:59):
I'm just going to present to you a scenario. You
tell me if you would do this, if somebody said, like, hey,
give me a couple bucks for what I'm going to
go set it over there, and then in a few
minutes we'll find out whether or not you can win
(42:21):
more money based on events that you have no ability
to pick or make an opinion on or determine. And
also you have no control over whatsoever where your money
is being put into. No thank you, though, that doesn't
(42:45):
make any sense, okay, because that's what Super Bowl squares are,
and yet for some reason we love it, and I'm
with you, I will be partaking tomorrow, and it doesn't
make any sense whatsoever. You basically handso goofball a few
(43:11):
bucks and you say, here, I'm trusting you to give
me two numbers that hopefully will be the last two
numbers of whatever score is happening, and then maybe I'll
(43:32):
win some money, but it might only be a small
portion in the first quarter and a bigger portion as
the game goes Like it's not even the lottery. Like
the lottery, you can at least pick your numbers. Hey,
I've got I got a bunch of lucky numbers. This
is what I like, Hey, I got listened, Like, look
I know that, you know, like I'm kind of superstitious.
(43:55):
Be hear my numbers. Like it'll give you options, Like
you could either pick the numbers you want to gamble
on or or you could do a quick pick. But
at least it gives you the option squares. You get
none of that. Here's an empty grid. Give us your money.
We'll let you know what last two numbers you get.
Sweet And we do it every year. And it dawned
(44:20):
on me because I was thinking this more like, yeah,
you know, I got to hit up a buddy you
don't want to see you know who's got some Super
Bowl squares. I'm like, wow, that's kind of like the
biggest waste of money of all time. And trust me,
I've gambled on some awful events. I've told you about
COVID when everybody's sitting there complaining about, oh my god,
(44:40):
there's no sports on it. What are we gonna do?
And like you got gambling companies that are like what
are you gonna do? You're gonna turn on a horse
race in Japan and tell your wife hold on babe,
we'll start the movie in a minute. I got the
six horse in Tokyo who's running backwards. They run the
opposite direction. Like You've got jockeys with masks on. You
(45:04):
got the people opening the gate wearing a giant and
ninety five that looks like uh Andre the Giant's diaper,
and I got money on that. So I've been down
this road, but at least I got to pick squares,
like get literally just handing your money to some guy
hoping that luck of the draw this is what you
(45:25):
end up with. So it's weird. I don't know who
started it. It's a brilliant concept to where you can
just prove, like there's gotta be the like these aliens
that are flying out of the water. Now they call
them UAPs, Like these UAPs that are flying out of
the water unidentified aerial phenomen I think that's what they're called,
(45:47):
unidentified aero phena. Who cares whatever, But like you get
these UAPs flying out of the water, you got drones
hovering overhead that may or may not be UFOs. You've
got like people speaking publicly about the fact that we've
uncover you have recovered alien bodies before and done testing.
You got like stories from places in Brazil in Zimbabwe
(46:08):
where these things land on the ground and they make
human contact and some guy carries a body of an
alien and then ends up with this crazy rash and
dies forty eight hours later in Brazil. Like you've got
all these stories, I guarantee you they've got a chart
either in the water or in one of those drones
in out of space where they're like top five dumbest
(46:30):
things humans do, and in that top five super Bowl
squares are at it. I guarantee it. And guess what, tomorrow,
we're all coming back for more. An amazing concept which
just guarantees our stupidity as human beings. Jonas Knox here,
(46:52):
Fox Sports Radio. By the way, let me just say this,
speaking of aliens and drones at all this stuff that's happened.
The first time I ever heard a tesla, I thought
it was a UFO. I was in a parking lot
(47:14):
and I heard this noise in the background, and I thought,
what the hell is that. I turned around and it
was a tesla going in reverse, like backing out of
a parking spot. I'd never heard it before. First time
I ever got in a Tesla was somebody driving an
uber and they were getting onto the freeway and they
(47:38):
went from bottom of the ramp to top of the
ramp at top speed, faster than anything I'd ever seen
before in my life. Had never seen a car operate
like that. I drive a two thousand and six Tacoma. Okay,
my truck still has a CD player inside. I'm not
(48:03):
familiar with this technology that I am currently sitting in,
and like I don't know how to open the door
of a Tesla. But the point of all this is
technologies come a long way. At the super Bowl, they
have this thing called the Fan Experience where every year
it's you know, right outside the convention center. They open
(48:24):
up like a big portion of the convention center usually
where Media Center is Radio row is and they've got
this thing to where fans can come in and they
can partake in all these different events. Like you know,
it's great for kids. They've got like, you know, little
little beer carts up he can get food, so the
parents can walk around and you know, get on the
liver loop while their kid pretends to be a quarterback,
(48:45):
but he's you know thrown with his wrong arm and
wrong hand because you know his dad didn't do his
job and teach him how to throw a football correctly
when he was young, like all those things that you
can do. And so, like, you're walking around and then
they've got this NFL shop and you walk into the
NFL shop and you can buy items in there and
take them. So I wanted to get my wife and
(49:05):
my son something. So I walk in there and I
go to check out, and the guy tells me you
don't need to take your items out. It's a self checkout.
You don't need to take your items out and scan them.
You just leave them in the bag and you set
them down inside like a little boxed area where you
put all your items. I was like, but what about
(49:26):
I gotta take them out of the bag. So no, no, no,
keep your bag closed so the bag is not see through.
This is a dark bag that I picked up in
there to put my items in. You cannot see inside
the bag. There's nobody knows what's inside the bag. I
literally set the closed bag that you cannot see through
into this little box area and I look at the
(49:49):
computer screen and it registered and rang up everything that
was in the bag. I've never seen anything like that
in my life, never seen it. I was like, how
does that work? He goes, I don't know. We're just
trying out some new stuff. I mean there's still little glitches,
but yeah, that's everything. Yeah, that is everything. Wait what
(50:10):
never see anything like that in my life. Have no
idea how they were able to do it. So I
say all of that to say this, You mean to
tell me the NFL still hasn't figured out a way
to know whether or not they've got a first down
or not. Still like still Roger Goodell saying, well, you
(50:35):
know it's a listen. You know, we're not quite there yet.
You know, the balls like funny shaped and stuff like that.
There's like this massive humanity there, like there's still Mike
Pereira joined us. I said, hey, how close are we
to having like, you know, some technology here? Well, I'm
not close at all, you know, because you got to
put you know, there's chips and footballs, but you've got
a factor in like a player's elbow in his hand,
(50:57):
and it's like that's so we can do all of that.
We can acknowledge that we've got spaceships flying out of
the water, drones over New Jersey, alien body parts, you
can scan out items without opening your bag that you
can't see through. It knows every single one of them
(51:18):
inside your bag. You've got cameras everywhere. You've got cars
that back up and sound like UFOs and accelerated a
speed that that's not common amongst you know us people
that still drive a car that was made, you know,
back when Devin Hester was a rookie, like you know,
like all you've got all this technology, but the NFL
(51:42):
still somehow can't figure out whether or not some guy's
got a first down or not. It's crazy. And look,
this is you know how I feel about this. Do
not ever get rid of the chain gang. I like
the fact that those guys have a place on the field.
It kind of it's a throwback, if you will, agay,
that's how it was.
Speaker 4 (52:01):
You know.
Speaker 2 (52:02):
Let them be out there, go through the what they're
going through a sea try. But when there's like a
call on the line, a game on the line, and
the NFL's answer to why they may or may not
have gotten the call right because one official had one
spot and another had another spot, and neither one of
them may be right, but one of them may be
more right. But still they got the call wrong based
(52:22):
on like don't come back afterwards and say, yeah, we're
just not quite ready for that technology yet. Yes we are,
Yes we are. My buddy sent me a video sitting
in the back of a car that had no driver
and it was taking him exactly where he wanted to go. Like,
I just find it hard to believe that the NFL,
(52:44):
which is all about cutting edge and being at the
forefront and you know, wanting to grow the game and
expand the game, still hasn't come up with the ability
to figure out where it's like they're going to try
some stuff. I mean, that's you know at the super Bowl.
Now we won't get to see this, but there's something
called Sony Hawkeyes skele A tract system. It's a camera system.
(53:08):
It's going to monitor more than two dozen skeletal points
on a player's body. It'll be tested during the super
like they've got all, you know, the chips in the ball,
Like they're gonna try it this weekend. Listen, we're gonna
at least like, but at this point in the game,
you don't have the ability to do something to make
sure we can get this stuff correct. I'm not saying
(53:29):
that that all of a sudden would have impacted who
would have won the Bills Chiefs game. You still had
a significant amount of time in that game. There was
what close to thirteen minutes in that game. It's not
like there weren't other opportunities. But when the NFL talks
about growing the game, cutting edge technology, how advanced they
are in comparison to other leagues out there, don't come
(53:50):
back afterwards and say we're just not quite ready for
that technology. Yes we are, because we see it in
everyday life. Jonas Noxy or Fox Sports Radio at the
Jonas Knox on X at the Jonas Knox on X
and you can hang out with us as always on
the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (54:07):
Right.
Speaker 2 (54:08):
So coming up next here from Thetiraq dot Com studios,
we could be on the brink. We could be on
the brink of something historic in the NFL this weekend.
I don't know that many people are taking this into account,
but we could be very very close to seeing history
this weekend. And it's not the history everybody's talking about
(54:30):
that's next. We don't need to bring Jonas in Jonas
Knox Fox Sports Radio. So coming up we will call
it a little over ten minutes from now. At least
you know the NFL is serious about one thing. At
least you know they're serious about one thing. If if
you want to implement some change, the NFL is serious
about this. We will get into that for you again
(54:52):
about ten minutes from now here on FSR. We're also
going to talk about some potential history as well too,
on this show or in the super Bowl. That could
be I mean staring us right in the eyes here,
I mean we could be on the brink of something
pretty significant here. So we will get into that for
you again coming up here just a couple of minutes
from now. Some positive feedback here on the show. A
(55:14):
lot of people are very fired up about what we
have done here on this Saturday. When we get set
for the big game coming up tomorrow. Danny writes in
the only debate I heard was who's stuck their bleep
(55:35):
in your bleep? You bleep smoking douche. Tony writes in
Beta Blink, Jonas now gonna be bleeping your bleep to
not only show time, Otani, Now you're fakers, got your
(56:00):
boy toy, Luca, don bleep for you to bleep on. Congrats,
you bleep Jason writes in go choke on a begnet
and Poe Boy like it's one of your hunky beefcakes.
(56:23):
Bleeps and bleep all of it, you bleep. Brian writes
in Luckily Joff Jony can't wait to get your countless
swifty in traveshots wrapped in your friendship bracelets, waiting for
(56:44):
bleep trave to propose postgame like the bleepsucker you have
always been U f wad at the Jonas knocks on X.
That is, at the Jonas knocks On X. I'll be
honest with you, I don't know if I can retweet
any of those. That's a I mean, last NFL game
(57:09):
of the year, they brought the heat. So you can
search those out if you'd like to, and you can
probably find all of those on social media. Now that
being said, we could be potentially on the brink of
seeing something I don't know if it's historic, but seeing
something that we've never seen before when it comes to
(57:31):
Saquon Barkley and this season that he's had with the
Philadelphia Eagles. So what got me thinking about this was
Michael Parsons earlier this week talked about the potential edition
of Derrick Henry to the Cowboys, and he talked about, Hey,
you know, if you guys would have signed Derrick Henry,
you know, how do you think this year would have gone?
(57:53):
Here was the Cowboys star pass rusher. So we do
not have the sound, but Michaeh. Parsons basically said that
Derrick Henry, the addition of him to this Cowboys team,
not really sure would it made that much of a difference.
So he was looking at it saying, it's you know,
as much as as we can, you know, talk about
(58:15):
how great he was with the Baltimore Ravens. He was
talking with Adam Shine and said, we struggled so much
in Dallas even Derrick Henry wouldn't have helped them. And
he's one hundred percent right. And it was my point
last week and we've talked about it before, was Saquon
Barkley that even if Saquon Barkley had stayed with the
New York Giants, he probably doesn't help them enough to
(58:37):
really make an impact. The best thing that happened to
Saquon Barkley was the fact that he did end up
in Philadelphia. Like he can talk all he wants about man,
I really wanted to stay in New York really like
it was a happy accident, Like he ended up being
the benefactor of a team making the wrong decision, but
it ended up being the right decision for him because
(58:58):
of what he's potentially about to alish. Like, think about
this in a league where we've been told for years
it's all about passing, it's all about passing, Like it's
a passing league now, you don't value the running back.
The running back doesn't carry the same weight that it
used to. Saquon Barkley is in the midst of a
season in which he gets to a team, is a
(59:24):
puts together, arguably an MVP type season, nearly breaks the
all time rushing record, doesn't play the final week of
the season, which is a debate because maybe he would have,
you know, chased down Eric Dickerson's record and broke the
all time record, wins Offensive Player of the Year, and
could be the reason why the Philadelphia Eagles stop history
(59:50):
in a three peat with the Kansas City Chiefs. So
we've gone from don't value the running back, don't pay
a running back too. Guy gets paid, gets paid, if
we're being honest, well below what his production was in
about thirteen million dollars a year and could be the
(01:00:12):
difference in whether or not a team three peats for
the first time in the history of the sport or not.
Like that impact that he has had, not only just
in Philadelphia but potentially on the league is wild to
think about when you consider there was debates about, well, yeah,
(01:00:37):
like why would the Giants pay him? Like why would
the Giants give him that? If the Giants didn't give
Daniel Jones the contract they did, there was a large
segment of the NFL population that was saying, well, yeah,
why would you pay any of them long term? Like
Saquon Barkley he couldn't stay healthy or there was concerns
about his injury and it's the running back, you know,
(01:00:59):
why not just go draft a guy? You can get
a guy in the later rounds, Like you know, running
backs are a dime a dozen now, you don't build
your team around them. Like those were real discussions. Let's
not pretend none of those were talking points, and none
of those were discussions that we had, but we were
having those about Saquon Barkley and what he's done this year.
(01:01:21):
He didn't win the MVP. It went to Josh Allen.
He was in the discussion for the MVP but ultimately
didn't win it. And now he's got an opportunity to
put together one of the great running back seasons we've
ever seen in the history of the league. Like one
of the great running back seasons we've ever seen. He's
(01:01:42):
on the brink of potentially doing that, and it might
get done if he goes in tomorrow in New Orleans.
They beat Kansas City, stop a three peat, and that
guy's the MVP of the Super Bowl. Just a wild
one to eighty from the discussions we were having about
running backs and specific Saquon Barkley not that long ago.
Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knock
(01:02:05):
on x at the Jonas Knox on x SO coming
up next here. Look, as much as the NFL is saying, hey,
we're not ready for this type of change, We're not
ready for the tape, at least you know they're open
to this. At least you know they're open to this discussion.
We'll get into that for you here on FSR. But
for all the latest from around the world of sports,
ladies and gentlemen, this man deserves some respect and if
(01:02:27):
he doesn't get it, he will take it from your
cold dead hands. He's the one and only Isaac Lohenkron
done it before, I'll do it again Jonas. As we speak,
Anthony Davis is making his Dallas Mavericks debut against the
Houston Rockets at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, and
it is going.
Speaker 7 (01:02:44):
Really, really, really really well. Here are Chuck Cooperstein and
Brian damers On k Egl.
Speaker 1 (01:02:52):
Drop it down to Davis left of the land day
travel love.
Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
It at Jaffer, Oh, how about that.
Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
To start the game A little night, ain't Dodden lys Ron.
It's turn left, step through and Davis blocked the shot.
Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
They came down to the ball, Davis mid.
Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
Post, right left hand, trouble being poked at, taking.
Speaker 2 (01:03:09):
His tie to the block. He'll hang it all ahead
to the ram hang ain't.
Speaker 1 (01:03:13):
Backing nout stops hold the rebound as everybody comes.
Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
To their feet in the American.
Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
Their Lives Center bounces to Davis shounds the three point
line straight away screen fight Gaffert. Now we'll step back, take.
Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
It three yead bake it. He can stretch two.
Speaker 1 (01:03:27):
I swater in its name, nine straight points for Anthony Davis.
Speaker 7 (01:03:32):
That was all in the first nine and a half
minutes of the game.
Speaker 2 (01:03:35):
They have two twenty nine left to play.
Speaker 7 (01:03:37):
In the first quarter, the Mavericks leading the Rockets thirty
one to seventeen.
Speaker 2 (01:03:41):
Davis has fourteen points.
Speaker 7 (01:03:44):
In ten minutes, six out of seven from the field
with a three pointer. He has seven rebounds, three assists,
and a block shot. Meanwhile, Davis's former team, the Los
Angeles Lakers, hosting the Indiana Pacers at the top of
the hour. The Lakers earlier today officially rule out Lebron
James from the contest due to left ankle soreness.
Speaker 2 (01:04:03):
And col See Isaac and you were ready to call
this the worst trade in the history of the sport.
Speaker 7 (01:04:10):
I was not one of the hundreds outside of the
American Airlines Center. You're you're, you're, you're targeting the wrong
guy again.
Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
I mean, give the guy a chance. It's not like
you know, Anthony Davis can't play. You're you're speaking to
Maverick fans out there. Look, I'm just telling you, man, like,
we got to give this some time. And also, by
the way, I heard that they're like hiring more security
because of potential threats yeah, oh, yes, you're right, that's
absolutely true.
Speaker 7 (01:04:39):
Yeah, exactly, yes, absolutely absolutely true.
Speaker 2 (01:04:43):
I mean, like, hey, guys, like you got options, okay,
just to watch just out of curiosity.
Speaker 7 (01:04:54):
Do you think there's any overlap there between those people
and some of the people who tweet at you on
social media?
Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
Probably?
Speaker 7 (01:05:01):
Yeah, I really can't retweet any of those like they're
they're really uh.
Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
It's a bit it's a bit much.
Speaker 7 (01:05:07):
I will say this for your legions of haters, they
do at least put some thought and sophistication into their hate.
Speaker 2 (01:05:18):
Yeah. Well, a lot of people thought that they were
like what are those accounts that burners like? But yeah,
like bots. Oh a lot of people know they're bots.
Oh they're not. But they are actually listening because they
reference things that were discussed on the show. So I
don't know that that's technically a bot. Who knows. Maybe
(01:05:39):
they work. You know. It's like some you know, it's
like two or three guys that are sitting at a
bar in Indonesia and they're like, f this dude. You know,
he ripped on my favorite you know, NHL team ten
years ago, so let's go ahead and call them out weekly.
It could be that, but I don't believe that they're
bots because they are pretty show specific eatweet, Yeah, I
think those are.
Speaker 7 (01:05:59):
Well, here's here's a little test to see if they
are actually in Indonesia. Make a controversial remark about badminton,
because that's one of that is arguably the most popular
sport in Indonesia. Make a controversial take on badminton and
(01:06:20):
see if they come at you, and then you'll know
for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
Can I can?
Speaker 1 (01:06:23):
I do it?
Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
Right now? Stop asking your shit, Let's try this out.
We got less than a half hour, so I don't
know if we're gonna have enough time to get any
feedback on this. But I'll say this for any anybody
listening in Indonesia right now. I love badminton. Badminton's one
of the great most underrated games of all time. There's
also not a human being walking the face of Indonesia
(01:06:44):
that could beat me in badminton. I'll tell you that
right now.
Speaker 7 (01:06:47):
I will clown everybody in that entire area in Badton.
That's a hot Take hold onto your sea, that's a
hot bad minton. Take hold onto your socks and shuttlecocks.
Speaker 2 (01:06:58):
Yes, yes, that is true. By the way, By the way,
the fact that he that the uh at the little
birdie that's used in bad shuttle shuttlecock. I'm sure many
people will have h have a lot of a lot
of state about that as well too.
Speaker 7 (01:07:12):
By the way, it is three thirty five in the
morning in Indonesia, so keep that in mind. I know
you have a devoted fan base that does not care
about their circadian rhythms. And finally, Jonas, on the subject
of well, you know, since you left town, the city
of New Orleans, I think it's clear has been dealing
with a serious fun shortage. Well today Cleveland Brown's quarterback
(01:07:34):
and Fox Sports guest Super Bowl correspondent Jameis Winston is
attempting to fill the fun void.
Speaker 2 (01:07:42):
Here.
Speaker 7 (01:07:42):
We was just moments ago tossing I kid you not
crab legs from a Bourbon Street balcony to fans down below.
Listen a crab.
Speaker 2 (01:07:52):
Lag ladies and gentlemen. Yes, it is nothing better than this.
Speaker 5 (01:07:58):
Oh my god.
Speaker 7 (01:08:03):
So just to paint the picture, he actually took a
bite of one of the krab legs and then tossed
that one down to the fans down below, and a
fan caught the crab legs and the fan took a
bite out of the same crowd leg on that note
back to.
Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
You, by the way, Jamis Winston one of the last
true gunslingers left in the NFL. Yes, like it used
to be back in the day to where guys like
Brett farv or Eli Manning or whatever. It's like, it
wouldn't surprise you if they threw like four or five
picks in a game. Nowadays, it's so rare that that,
you know, guys in the NFL are throwing like that
degree of interceptions or turning the ball over that much,
(01:08:40):
and at least it's kind of a rare at least
he does it in an entertaining fashion, hence the quote
Lord delivered me from pick sixes or Yes, like there's
something there's something to that, Like it used to be
back in the day to where you know a guy
would you know, throw a bunch of interceptions like Kirk
Cousins led the league tied with Baker Mayfield with six
teen interceptions, like sixteen, like I mean, damn, Like, guys,
(01:09:05):
are the James through thirty one year? Look and I
think that was less games.
Speaker 7 (01:09:11):
You're onto something because remember the legendary the catch Joe
Montana to Dwight Clark in the NFC Championship game. Yeah,
you know the Joe Montana before that had three interceptions
in that one game.
Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
Yeah, he remembers. Nobody remembers. By the way, how about
Isaac Lonkron trying to stain the reputation at Joe Montana
on a Saturday?
Speaker 7 (01:09:30):
Why's Joe Gota came? Well, what do you mean stay
in the reputation. I'm just a guy passing along facts.
Are the people in Indonesia going to come at me
now at three thirty seven in the morning.
Speaker 2 (01:09:39):
Guys out there trying to push zero percent guinness and
you're out there trying to air him out on national radio. Oh,
he's fine.
Speaker 7 (01:09:46):
If he got reservations at the same restaurant as Travis
and Taylor last night, as well as Stiffler's mom, he's fine.
Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
Trust me. All right, Well, Joe, if you're listening, you
can find Isaac gun So social media. It looks smelling
that all out. It does take up some time, but
you can't get isa on social media. He can feel
your wrath. It is a Jonas Knox here on Fox
Sports Radio. By the way, we are going to have
some Knox Locks really one for being honest, But we
(01:10:13):
will recap the season as a whole when it comes
to Knox Locks and the official pick for Super Bowl
fifty nine, that'll be yours coming up next here on FSR.
I did get a kick out of this to where
Nick Sirianni was talking about the Tush push and said
he talked about Philly's success of the Tush push and
he says, well, you know it's We've got the players
(01:10:34):
to do it. And you know, Mike Pereira is saying,
based on what happened in the NFC title game, kind
of an s show, kind of a fiasco, Like you know,
there might be some discussions, further discussions about potentially making
(01:10:55):
that play illegal. And I looked. My thought on it
is this, I'm in different if they decide they want
to continue with the Toush push and keep that as
a play that Philadelphia uses and other teams use, and
even though Philly's success rate is higher than everybody else's,
everybody else does pretty good if you look at the percentages.
If they want to keep the play in they don't
find anything wrong with it, that's fine. Like I'm indifferent
(01:11:18):
on it. Do what you want to do. If we're
being honest, though, it does not look like any other
playing football. It just doesn't. So if that's the case,
it is worth having a discussion. They've tried having the
conversation about it before, But I feel like this one's
going to become significant or at least going to catch
(01:11:40):
more momentum going into the offseason, especially if Philly goes
to roll it out coming up tomorrow and you've got
more of what happened in the NFC title game, where
you've got guys jumping over the line of scrimmage, you've
got an official having to get you know, on the
mic and tell tell everybody and announce that if this
continues and there continues to be off side's penalties here
(01:12:03):
from the one yard line, half yard line, quarter yard line,
we're just gonna go ahead and award Philadelphia touchdown automatically.
If that happens again, I do feel like we could
be seeing the end of the Tush Push era in
the NFL. Jonas Knox here, Fox Sports Radio at the
Jonas Knocks on X at the Jonas Knox on X,
and coming up next here we close up shop with
(01:12:26):
another edition, the final edition of Knox locks right here
on FSR, Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. Coming up a
little over twelve minutes from now here from the tire
rack dot Com studios, we will continue the coverage of
Super Bowl Week and the Big Game coming up tomorrow
here on FSR. Make sure you stick around again a
(01:12:49):
little over twelve minutes from now here, it will be
Alex Curry and Carmen Vitali who will take over the airwaves.
They will have the very latest the story lines that
will be taking place over the next several days. One
of the things that you are going to get a
lot of when it comes to this game, especially after
(01:13:11):
what is going to be taking place between Philly and
Kansas City, there's going to be a discussion about obviously
Patrick Mahomes' legacy. I just hope that if Philly does
end up winning this game, I hope Nick Sirianni could
get a little bit of respect, right, just get a
little bit of respect for once, because I've never seen
(01:13:34):
somebody on the hot seat after the start of his
career that he has had in Philadelphia. It is wild
to think about the conversation and discussion that is happening
when it comes to Nick Sirianni, that would never exist,
literally not exist anywhere else in the NFL except for Philadelphia.
So I'm curious to see if Philly does in fact
win this game, whether or not Sirianni does actually get
(01:13:58):
the respect and credit he deserve for the start and
the run that he's had to open up his Eagles
coaching career. So that'll be a discussion point potentially after
this game on Sunday, and we will have all sorts
of fun during the offseason talking about all of that
and more. By the way, if you've missed any of
this show, you can check out the podcast just search
(01:14:21):
Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts. Be sure
to also follow, rate and review the pod. Again, just
search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcast you
will see this show posted right after we get off
the air. There's been a discussion, by the way, about
the Super Bowl rotation. This always happens like this always
happens every single year a city will put on a
(01:14:43):
Super Bowl and they'll say, well, you know, we should
be more in the rotation, and so New Orleans has
not had a Super Bowl and many Super Bowls for
a while now, so this is their first time back
there getting a Super Bowl, and you look at sort
of where we're at when it comes to that city,
(01:15:04):
other city's in rotation. You know, you've obviously got the
Supernome getting it this year, Santa Clara is going to
be getting it next year, and then you've got so
far and then it goes back to Atlanta. So you've
got New Orleans, the Bay Area, Los Angeles, then back
to Atlanta. I don't know about you. I live on
(01:15:24):
the West Coast. I think we're all good on super
Bowls here outside of Vegas. If you wanted to just
do a consistent rotation of Vegas in Miami and mixing
some other places like in New Orleans. I thought Atlanta
did a phenomenal job when Atlanta had the Super Bowl
a few years back. I think that would work for everybody. Logistically.
(01:15:45):
The one thing I'll say about New Orleans. Everything was
in close proximity so you could get to where you
needed to go. It felt like it was pretty organization organized.
I mean, road closures are a pain in the ass,
but they are everywhere. But it did feel like New
Orleans did a pretty good job. And now we see
how this weekend goes how they kind of take to
(01:16:06):
this many people arriving into the city, especially after they
haven't had it for a while. But there is going
to be that discussion as well too, whether or not
New Orleans has earned the opportunity to be put back
in the rotation at a more consistent rate. They used
to be all the time, but it had been some
time since then. But I can say this, the people
there in and around the media center who cover this,
(01:16:27):
who put this stuff together, could not have been nicer.
Could not have been nicer. Now, some of the people,
the locals you talk to in New Orleans have said
and told me, hey, not exactly what the city normally
looks like. But nonetheless they did a good job cleaning
it up and kind of put on as good a
show as they possibly could. Now we see how it
plays out this weekend, and maybe they become more in
(01:16:49):
the rotation moving forward. All right, So, without further ado,
it is time for the final installment for the year
of a little something we do called this.
Speaker 4 (01:17:00):
Looked it Let's lock it No no Knox locks.
Speaker 2 (01:17:06):
It's been a weird year, I'll be honest with you.
You know, it was also a year of triumph where
you had a bunch of people out there rooting for
the demise of Knox Locks. One of those I consider
a dear friend, somebody I've worked with for several years,
one Brady Quinn, who could not wait for the demise
(01:17:29):
of Knox Locks. Another losing year. He called it. And
what did we do. We just battled back. We stayed
in the fight. We kept proving no, no, no, no, this
is not like other years. We finished four games over
five hundred for the regular season, and then once the
playoffs started, not so much. The conference championship weekend, we
(01:17:55):
had the Eagles minus six, we had the Bills plus two.
Philly outstanding did their part, even despite Washington nearly getting
docked an automatic touchdown because of an offsides rattling of
offsides calls against them again close to the goal line
there on that Tush push. But we had the Bills
(01:18:16):
plus two. That didn't go as planned as apparently the
Bills and their inability to stop a blitz or to
come up with anything better than just a bunch of
excuses for why they couldn't bounce back from a bad spot.
With thirteen minutes left in the game, they had all
the opportunity to win that didn't go as planned, one
(01:18:38):
in one in conference championship weekend for six and two
in the playoffs overall. But right now it's time for.
Speaker 4 (01:18:44):
This Chiefs versus Eagles.
Speaker 2 (01:18:47):
I'm taking Philly. I know I'm spitting in the face
of Patrick Mahomes's legacy and NFL history, but I will
take the Philadelphia Eagles getting a point and a half.
It's probably not a smart pick, but a lot of
these picks this year weren't smart, and during the regular
season we were four games up on the right side
of things. So I will take the Eagles to fly
(01:19:08):
in Super Bowl fifty nine thanks to Patrick, thanks to
Chris and iazagainst Fox Sports Radio more Super Bowl coverage.
Naxt jonas Son of a Bitch,
