Speaker 1 (00:00):
I have to have better stop from the.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Beginning, Jonas Knocks, you thought you knew me. You didn't
know a thing about me.
Speaker 3 (00:07):
He's crazier than a else.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Wrapped that guy, Jonas Knocks, you heard me.
Speaker 4 (00:15):
Pray.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Some darkness is lighting up your speakers to establish an
alibi for the day. No Live from the Fox Sports
Radio studios. Here's Jonas Knox.
Speaker 4 (00:27):
YEP, okay, I'll report this.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
You know, sometimes we don't really need to have all
the details and the information sort of presented to us
in the way that it is to know that. Yeah,
we figured that was going to be the conclusion. We
could kind of figure this out on our own, and
that is the story. When it comes to one quarterback
in the NFL. We'll get into that for you coming
up here in just a couple of moments from now,
Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio. You can find us as
(01:10):
always on the iHeartRadio app. You can always find us
on hundreds of affiliates all across the country and wherever
you are making us a part of your Saturday, we
appreciate you doing so. Here on this glorious November Saturday
in which we've got college football.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Left and right.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
We got NFL games in Germany, and we've also got
stories coming out about quarterbacks in the league that while
we're trying to be presented all the information and all
the facts, if we're being honest here, we kind of had.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Them all from the get go.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
So here's the latest on the saga that all of
a sudden has picked up speed and steam over the
past couple of weeks. Kyler Murray sorry, and the Cardinals
organization are going to have discussions in the near future
about his future with Arizona.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Okay, that's that's where we're at now.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
When uh, Jonathan Gannon, the head coach, talked about Kyler
going on IR this week because he's got this mid
foot sprain and this issue that he's been dealing with,
which is a serious issue, especially for a mobile quarterback.
You know, he talked about, yeah, listen, he's going to
go on IR. We field, it's best for this point
at this point, et cetera, et cetera. I mean, he
(02:34):
didn't really need to tell us all the IR stuff
and the fact that they were going to go with
you know, Kyler in that direction when he already told
us earlier this week when he was on the Burns
and Gambo show in Arizona, discussing what the plan was
at quarterback when they named Jacoby Brissett the starter.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Is it safe to say that the way that Jacoby
Brissette has been playing, that even if Kyla was healthy,
that you still would have came to the same conclusion.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
Yeah, I mean, you know, it's a hypothetical than me,
But yeah, I like where we're at right now with
the offense moving forward.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
But don't worry.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
If you listen to their GM and if you listen
to Jonathan Gannon, they'll talk about Kyler's health and whatnot
when they get there. Let's be honest here, you're just
kicking the can down the road. That's all this is.
You're just kicking the can down the road. And if
we're being upfront, chances are and the chances are pretty high.
(03:34):
Kyler Murray's played his last game with the Cardinals, bottom line.
And it's not even so much that you needed all
of these little details that they're trying to give you,
because now, well you know, maybe maybe Kyler could be
the quarterback when he comes back. We're going to put
him on I Jonathan Gannon has told you, as you
just heard, yeah, even.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
If he was healthy.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Jacoby Brissett's our starter, Pete Prisco was on with us
on Fox Sports Radio this and Pete Prisco said, yeah,
you know, it feels like kind of a soft benching,
if you will. And now the story comes out from
Adam Schefter of ESPN earlier today that well, they're gonna
have talks about his future and that there's some people
that look at this and say, well, you know, I mean,
(04:16):
maybe a divorce is imminent.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Maybe this is where this is headed.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
And that's what the prevailing wisdom is when you get
to people talking about this that you know, both head
coach and GM weren't there when Kyler Murray was selected.
And look, man, we knew this. Sometimes you don't need
to be given all of the details to know. Yeah,
I kind of got a vibe. Yeah, I kind of
figure that out, you know, like sometimes you don't need
(04:42):
all the details, Like I don't need video surveillance. I
don't need a simply safe camera to let me know
my wife's fooling around on me if she comes home
smelling like some other guys cologne, you know what I mean.
I don't wear brute who does I don't need the
(05:04):
Cardinals to tell me all the details about the injury
and the health and the ir to know this was
probably going to be where this was headed from the
get go. Whether you want to look at the recent
history or you want to look at the contractual history
of Kyler Murray. Everybody remember the big story after Kyler
(05:25):
Murray signed his contract extension with the Cardinals. Everybody remember
that one. What was the big story that came out
of that contract? He needs to stop playing video games.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
That's what that was.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
There was a detail in the contract about him playing
video games. So even when you gave the guy generational
wealth a long term commitment, you basically clowned him publicly
by letting that detail get out. That was kind of
a hint that, well, you know, maybe this is kind
(06:05):
of heading in a weird direction, and you know, maybe
it was going to head in a weird direction just
based on the organization's history. Anybody remember when Kyler Murray
first got there.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Do you remember how that all played out?
Speaker 4 (06:21):
Yeah? Yeah, dude.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Listen, they had a long time run with the previous
head coach and quarterback, and they had to turn the
page quickly and just move on to somebody else and whatever.
You know, listen to like long Time Run. You're probably thinking,
what Ken wizen Hunt and you know Kurt Warner. Oh no, no, no,
it was that one year run of Steve Wilkes and
Josh Rosen. Anybody remember that one. And then they decided,
(06:48):
you know, one is done, We're moving on. Let's go ahead,
and let's let's pair up Cliff Kingsbury with Kyler Murray
and let's make this thing work. And listen, they had
some success there and then all of a sudden they
got into a playoff game with the Rams. They got blasted.
They had a down year the following year, and Cliff
Kingsbury was out. So let's just we don't need the
(07:09):
details from the Cardinals organization. We don't need all the
other like the stories about well, you know, it's when
he comes back off the IR we'll have those discussions.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Stop.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
You've given us all the answers. Why do you think
Jonathan Gannon himself made the move to go with Jacoby Brissett?
What do you think because the guy's twelve games under
five hundred is coach and he knows I got to
start winning games or I'm going to be fired.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Yeah, but you don't have any proof of that.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Okay, So you tell me what does that send to
the team when you find him one hundred thousand dollars
for yelling at de Marcado, his running back for dropping
the ball before he crossed the goal line. Remember that
he gave him a nice tongue lashing on the sideline.
(07:59):
Looked like he bumped him, got physical with him.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
Bad.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Look, he can't do that to a player. It wasn't
the league who fined him. It was his own organization
who find him one hundred thousand dollars. You clipped his
nuts in front of the team, and afterwards we're supposed
to be like, no, he's the head coach of the
team and everything's fine here.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Stop.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
We all know what this is about. We've known for years.
It's the way the organization operates. It's the way this
regime is operated, and it's the way things have been
handled with Kyler Murray from the get go period at
the Jonas Knox on X at the Jonas Knox on
X and you can hang out with us as always
on the iHeartRadio app. By the way, get us on
Instagram as well too. At Jonas knock Show. We did
(08:43):
have some good news. It's not all bad news when
it comes to the injury stuff with quarterbacks in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
We did have some good news.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Jaden Daniels Apparently the dislocated elbow no surgery required. We're
looking at three to six weeks. The commanders aren't even
putting him on the IR. That's how good the news is.
No surgery, no no IR. And there's a chance Jayden
Daniels is going to be back this year. So now
(09:11):
that we know that, well, the same people that basically
bullied dan Quinn into having to come out the following
day and say, hey, that was on me, you know,
needed to get him out of the game.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Hey that was on me.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Will those same people now like to raise their hand
and stand up and be like, hey, you know, yeah,
maybe we overreacted a little bit, you think, And this
isn't one of these hindsight twenty twenty just because they
got good news on the injury change of take no,
No No from the get go. The very next morning
(09:50):
on this network, I said, why is dan Quinn getting
a hard time because his starting quarterback was in the
game that late and got hurt. It's football what are
we talking about here? He hasn't played that much. The
offense has looked at us sync all year long, and
he's in a game trying to make plays. He fell awkwardly.
Bad breaks happen, tough balls. It's football, Marshaun Latimore towards ACL.
(10:18):
Is that dan Quinn's fault or is it just football's fault?
But no, no, no, no, no, no no no no, because
people have like RG three trauma, so they think, well,
young quarterback, you know, we don't want to get him hurt.
And RG three is out there when he shouldn't, so
people have that trauma and so everybody and dan Quinn
caved the next day day after came ons, Yeah, you know,
(10:43):
that's my fault. I should have, you know, should have
taken him out of the game.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
That's on me.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
And look, I've met dan Quinn before. Great dude, great dude,
totally down to earth. Not surprised that he raised his
hand and said my fault. But he shouldn't have had
to say anything. The problem is people see an injury
like that, everybody freaks out and you got to point fingers.
(11:08):
So you point fingers at dan Quinn, You point fingers
at the commanders at the offense. Who knows, maybe Cliff Kingsbury,
Kyler Murray's former coach. Maybe you point fingers at him
because he's the OC. Somebody's got to be to blame,
when the fact of the matter is nobody's to blame.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
If anything, blame football.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
The second Jaden Daniels went back on the field at
any point during that game, there was a chance that
was going to happen if that play had happened two
quarters earlier. What's the conversation, Well, I mean, maybe they
rushed him back. He wasn't fully healthy from his leg issues,
and stop. Dan Quinn shouldn't have had to come back
(11:47):
afterwards and accept responsibility because there was no responsibility to
accept other than the fact that, hey man, it's football.
Stuff's gonna happen. It's why those guys can play it
and why those guys sign up for it and the
rest of us don't. At the Jonas Knox on X
at Jonas Knox Show on Instagram and you can hang
out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app. All right,

Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. Coming up, we are going
to hand out an award on this show. It's our
TGFG Game of the Week. That'll be yours here again
at bottom of the hour. A little over ten minutes
from now. So, there was an interesting moment that took
(13:58):
place in the world of sports on Friday night. USC
converted on a fake punt. Like you know, listen, I
mean special teams. I mean that's you know, that's important.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
We look at the.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Raiders, they just fired their special teams coach, like you
need good special teams, and USC, you know, converted on
a fake punt. The problem is the person that converted
on the fake punt was a quarterback on the roster.
It was a quarterback and he basically just wore the
(14:32):
same number as the punter and winning as quote unquote
the punter. So there was some deception. He had the
same jersey just you know just I mean, not illegal,
not illegal, Okay, you can do that. In college football,
(14:55):
there's there's a bunch of different guys wearing the same numbers,
and and you know this, you know that the general
wears a different number. And then the past couple of weeks,
according to Lincoln Riley, he's been wearing the same number
as the punter. And they were waiting for this moment
and this opportunity, and they had it happen on Friday.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Night, and so wait, listen.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Not illegal, you know, but still kind of a scumbag move,
if we're being honest. Kind of a scumbag move. The
fact that you put somebody in the same jersey number
as the punter and put them out there to convert
on a fake punt. Scumbag move. Not illegal, but a
(15:34):
scumbag move. Similar to Look if because let me listen,
USC blowhards are gonna say, well, I mean, well, I
mean they didn't break any laws or wasn't break any rules.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
What's the problem.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Okay, Well, look, if I'm walking down a crowded street
and an old lady drops one hundred dollars out of
her purse, I don't.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Have to pick it up and give it back to her.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
I mean, if she's far enough down the road, I
could just pocket that bad boy and go buy booze.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
What's the problem. I don't I don't have.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
To give her the money back. But you know what
I would do. I would give her the money back
because I'm not a scumbag. Like That's the approach I
would take. But USC is looking at this like, well,
I mean, look, this is not a this is not illegal.
I mean, we Lincoln Riley said it, We've been doing
this a couple of weeks. I don't know, you know,
(16:26):
you guys gotta and look, Northwestern said afterwards, hey, you know,
we've got to pay better attention to this and pay
better And look, they took the right approach, no excuses.
It also wasn't the reason why they lost the game.
I would argue that maybe fumbling the ball out of
the back of the end zone, which is the worst
rule in sports, that didn't help matters much. But nonetheless
USC get the win, and it's, you know, a scumbag move,
(16:49):
but not an illegal one.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
You just look at it and go.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Really, is that is that really what you want to do?
You want to walk away with that cash? You want
to go give it back to her. Now, Bowling Green
actually did this in a bowl game that none of
you watched.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
None of you watched that bowl game.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Bowling Green did it last year in a bowl game,
and I know that none of you watched it because
I didn't watch it at all. But credit to USC.
They found a loophole in the system, they executed it,
and it played out. But here's where I take this approach,
all right, And I'm going to take a little bit
different approach. And I think some people have taken to
(17:28):
where they're just lamb basting USC and calling them, you
know what, I'm calling them scumbags, dirt bags, all the
other things.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
To go along with it.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
And I'm looking at this as a sign of growth
for the program, really, and it's not that. Well, look
how prepared they are, and this is like a Belichickian
type move back when he was in New England.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
And he knew the rule book better than anybody else.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
I mean, look, it is a dirt bag move, it's
a scumbag move, but at the same time, it's also
a sign of positive growth for the program. And here's why.
It wasn't that long ago that they had a homeless
person as part of their punt team in practice, you
(18:08):
know what I mean, like a full blown legitimate bumb
in practice fielding punts and nobody knew.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
Nobody knew.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
I mean they had a guy sleeping under an overpass
with two different shoes on a Domino's box as his bed,
a pair of dickies that were pulled out of some
fire somewhere, a flannel that he had taken off a
corpse two blocks away, and he walked into USC's facility,
(18:48):
he put on a jersey and pads and fielded punts.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
So all these years.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Later, we're going to criticize this team because they dressed
up a quarterback who actually on the roster and not
homeless and made him a part of the punt team.
I think that's positive signs for the program. I think
we're headed in the right direction here. We can talk
about how this rule is probably gonna get changed after
(19:17):
the season, like we can get you know, buried in
the weeds there and talk about all that stuff if
you want to. But I'm looking at this going, you
know what, for all the heat Lincoln Riley gets for
where this program is at, for all the discussion we
get about men as he really lived up to the
contract they got. And the answer is no. By the way,
it's no, just so we're clear, it's no. It's definitely not.
(19:41):
He has definitely not done that, and it's not exactly
like this is the USC team that we've seen in
years past, when Pete Carroll was there, even John Robinson. Look,
you know, listen, you got to find the positives here.
You've now transitioned to the next step. All right, So
this is a three step process for USC. Step one
(20:05):
a hobo partaking in practice. I believe he also used
the whirlpool afterwards, if I'm not mistaken. I mean I
think that also took place. But this is the real story.
So there's that. That's step one, right, and it's like,
you know, timeline, you can follow the timeline. So step one,
bum in practice, okay. Step two scumbag move by putting
(20:32):
a quarterback in the same jersey number as the punter
and faking a punt on a Friday night against Northwestern. Right,
So that's step two right. Step three beat a ranked
opponent consistently, all right. So this is the three step process.
So we can sit here and we can bury him alive.
For what happened last night, or we can sit here
(20:55):
and say, but you know what, based on where they were,
this is a positive development for Lincoln Riley.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
And the USC Trojans.
Speaker 1 (21:03):

Is that okay with you?
Speaker 9 (21:57):
I know I need to get your approval over these
things because it is your show.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
I mean, in your words, it's your update.
Speaker 9 (22:04):
Now it's it's it might be my update, but it's
your show. So I just wanted to there is no there.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
It's we, not me. That's my philosophy.
Speaker 10 (22:12):
You'll never make it in this business with that aptitude.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Tell you I'm still here, I know.
Speaker 9 (22:19):
In college football, Number two Indiana holding God. There are
twenty to ten lead over Penn State three minutes in
thirty six seconds left to play in the third quarter.
Number five Georgia now has a thirty eight to fourteen
lead at Mississippi State, four forty nine left in the
third quarter. Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton fifteen of twenty two
for two fifty one three touchdown passes. Number eight Texas
(22:42):
Tech now leading seventh ranc BYU nineteen to nothing, one
twenty two left in the third quarter. Number one Ohio
State on the road at Purdue. Here is Paul Keels
on station WBNS West in.
Speaker 4 (22:57):
The backfield with quarterback Julian saying who's gonna throw? Saying
stops looks fires down the left scene toward the end zone.
Smith with a catch for the touchdown thirty five yards
strike through the air, Julian saying to Jeremiah Smith, gives
the Buckeyes their second TD of the day. At Ohio
State has a thirteen to three lead over Purdue.
Speaker 9 (23:17):
And right now they're up twenty one to three with
forty one seconds left in the second quarter, saying, eleven
of thirteen for one hundred and forty one excuse me,
one hundred and forty seven yards in the game, number six.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
A lot of energy on that call.
Speaker 10 (23:32):
By the way, Well, he what do you mean by that?
Speaker 2 (23:36):
I mean, come on? Played again?
Speaker 4 (23:38):
Fine West in the backfield with quarterback Julian saying who's
gonna throw? Saying stops, looks fires down the left scene
toward the end zone, Smith with a catch for the
touchdown thirty five yards strike through the air, Julian saying
to Jeremiah Smith, So let mean, come.
Speaker 9 (23:54):
On, man, well the guys the Ohio State announcer, do
you realize how much great football he's seen over the years.
And plus you don't need what you see as more
enthusiasm when you have the dulta tones that my man
Paul Keels has.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
I'm just saying, I know but like that's that just
sounds funny.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
Look, I just I think if you're spoiled at this
point by you know, Ohio State football. Look, if I
were him, I just get my licks in because we
know that's probably gonna end up against Michigan.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
So no, I'm just saying like based on recent history.
Speaker 9 (24:26):
Actually, again, in his defense, I'm told that his play
by play of the Ryan Day nipple piercing allegedly was
much more enthusiastic.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
Good.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
No, good for him.
Speaker 9 (24:36):
We broke that story, and I know we broke and
we analyzed it six ways to sunny. That was actually
not the saving the best for last Jonas because finally
we have a Texas high school football playoff tiebreaker gas
station coin flip update. Yeah, now, Amarillo High School, Lubbock
(24:56):
High School, and cap Rock High School all finished for
the final spot in the District two five A playoffs.
Speaker 10 (25:05):
So late last night, a three way tie breaking coin.
Speaker 9 (25:09):
Flip was held between the three head coaches at a
gas station adjacent to a TWOT and Totem convenience store
off Interstate twenty seven in Planeview, Texas. It was an
odd man wins format, so for example, one person flips
of tails, the other two flip heads. The one person
who flipped tails wins. So you've got the three head coaches,
(25:32):
a bunch of other people, you have a swarm of
local media. And here is the audio of the coin
flip at the gas station, courtesy of Lance Lard from
kV WE one O two point nine. The rattler in Amorello.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
Here it's here. Hey, it's here.
Speaker 11 (25:55):
THI guy, what is that? Oh, that's it, that's it.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Till Yeah, that's tails.
Speaker 6 (26:02):
He ambrill Hi.
Speaker 9 (26:05):
My favorite part of that was all the eighteen wheelers
going by in the background on I twenty seven. So
Amarillo High School won the coin toss, and afterwards Lonard
spoke with Amarillo head coach Chad Dunham.
Speaker 12 (26:18):
I'm an emotional wreck, but it's God's plan and there's
also going to be a celebration. We might I might
just break the news and see if they want to
come up tonight. If you want to come to a
good party, come on over to Emerald High.
Speaker 9 (26:33):
The main takeaway for me, I had never heard of
the Toot and Totem convenience store chain. The things you
learn on the Jonas Knox Show back to you.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
I mean, I have a couple of thoughts on this.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
First of all, I do think, you know, it is
worth noting when he mentioned it's God's plan. I go
to church every week with the family, and I don't
recall one time in any Bible verse seeing and if
you daily and give yourself to me, you will win
a coin flip at a toutin totem.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
Like I don't.
Speaker 9 (27:06):
I don't recall seeing that. I do believe that's somewhere
in the back. That is somewhere in the back of
the fine prints.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
So by revelations.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
All right, so when the yeah, so I got you,
and again, like I go to some Spanish masses, maybe
they did say it. I just didn't know what the
hell was going on. It will being clear. Also, look
up this Tutin Totem in plane view.
Speaker 10 (27:23):
Yeah I actually, I actually did.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
Yeah, Okay, this is the best. It's one of the
best gas stations I've ever seen it. It's Tutin Totem
number one seven. I mean, look like if you go inside,
like if you just look at the wall, how it's
I mean.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
It's spotless.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
You look up top, it's got like club lights over
the top out here in southern California. Most of our
gas stations are just kind.
Speaker 10 (27:45):
Of there, very perfunctory.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
They're not experiences, you know, like if you if you
go in and you're like, god, I need a snack.
You walk into a gas station and your selections are like,
you know, fun dip a Werther's original packet and.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Some freedoms that have been there since the eighties.
Speaker 10 (28:01):
That's the number one combo.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
Yeah, and so like here you could literally do your
shopping this place.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
It's fantastic.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
Let's go live to our I have a thought on
gas stations insider Chris Propfeffer, the.
Speaker 5 (28:12):
Latest caller No Jonas, Toot and Totem is pretty high
up there on the rankings, but it's got nothing on
come and go.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
Hey, Isaac, your thoughts on that, don't you? Endo the
Chris just drop.
Speaker 10 (28:22):
I'll take his word for it.
Speaker 9 (28:24):
Yeah, I'm just saying I'm not sure at other competing
outlets you can procure.
Speaker 10 (28:31):
Mitch's Texas style barbecue.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
Go place is great. Can you imagine doing a remote
from there?
Speaker 10 (28:38):
I was just I was just gonna suggest that.
Speaker 5 (28:41):
So we also have in the studio a BUCkies pen holder,
and it has never made me want more to go
to a BUCkies.
Speaker 9 (28:49):
And that's spelled b uc hyphen ee. Okay, yeah, yeah,
and that's the same thing.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
Even the bathroom, like this bathroom's phenomenal. I mean, this
is just fantastic. So the sinks at the right height,
like look, I'm really really right. We just you know,
sometimes you thinks are sometimes you thinks are are lower.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Sometimes best ones. The sinks are are are are.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
Put together well, the bathrooms put together well, Like I
think this is fantastic. Man, So big fan of the
toot and totem where you can change. And so now
what does that mean for the high school game? Not
to bury the lead here? That means that they're they're
in the playoffs?
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Yeah okay, they all got the final seed.
Speaker 9 (29:27):
And and by the way, and by the way, fans
out there can also participate in the twenty twenty five
Tutin Totem Spirit Pump program. Five cents from every gallon
is pumped directly back to local public high schools.
Speaker 10 (29:44):
Good for them, all right.
Speaker 1 (29:46):
You know, remember, I don't know if you ever been
out south, they better down south, Isaac. You ever traveled
down South? Oh?
Speaker 6 (29:51):
I have?
Speaker 2 (29:52):
I have? Are you familiar with the Pigley Wiggly.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
No, okay, the pig Let's go live to our I
am insider, Chris Prophet.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
The lads to shop at the Pigley Wiggily.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
So the Piggy is a was a grocery store chain
in the South I had. I had no idea about
the Pigley Wiggly and I showed up in South Carolina
and I needed to do shopping, and I was like, Hey,
is there Ralphs around here?
Speaker 2 (30:20):
And they're like, what what is the Ralphs?
Speaker 1 (30:22):
It's like, is there an Albertson's or And nobody had
any idea what I was talking about. Oh, you need
a grocery store. Yeah, yeah, the pig Wig. I was like,
the what they Yeah, the Pigley Wiggly. And every time
you went to the Pigley Wiggly if you wanted to
get a discount, the cashier would be like, you got
your pig card, and you out this card and they'd
swipe it and you get discounts on stuff. I don't
(30:43):
know if it's still in existence. Something is that it's
closed down in someplace.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Oh, it might be.
Speaker 5 (30:47):
I when I lived in Savannah, they had a Pigley
wiggily in a Publix, and I learned very quickly that
the cult of publics is a very big thing because
the hot bar apparently has a chicken pub sub. No,
I'm I'm just like, but no, I'm I would go
to the Pig just because it was cheaper. Big Piggy
wiggly guy, Big pig Guy. It is Jonas Knox here
on Fox Sports Radio. Thank you, elo Isaac will be
(31:10):
here for the remainder of this show, here to provide
you updates on gas station coin flips. Throughout the course
of this program.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
We are going to have another edition of Do You
Care coming up here and just we'll call it less
than ten minutes from now.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
But right now it's time to hand out an award
on this show.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
It's time for our TGF CHI Game of the Week,
and the Game of the Week goes too. Browns and Jets,
Oh baby, one o'clock Eastern time.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
Who's in Probably not.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
Any of you, but let's talk about the Browns and
the Jets. The Browns are an awful franchise. Paul de
Pedesto was like, you know what, this place is so bad.
I'm leaving after ten years and I'm gonna go take
over the Rockies, who are the worst team in professional
sports possibly, and they're in a division in which the
team that just won the World Series is in and
(31:59):
don't appeel like they're gonna slow down anytime soon. So
Paul de Vedessa is like, I'm out of here. Kevin
Stefanski's like, I don't even want to call plays anymore.
All right, we're gonna we're gonna give We're gonna give
over play calling duties to Tommy Reese. And then you've
got the New York Jets, who are like, you know what,
we gave guys contracts recently. We want them to be
the foundational pieces of this organization.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
So it makes all the sense in the.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
World that about eight or nine weeks later, we're just
gonna trade them at the deadline for some draft picks.
And everyone looks at this and goes, yeah, but look
at all the draft capital they got back sweet, and
you know, the last time they made good draft picks,
they traded them away at the deadline, just like they
just did. So your TGFG game of the Week is
pretty obvious. For Week ten in the NFL, it's the
(32:44):
Browns and the Jets.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
TGFG.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Thank God for gambling, because if not for gambling, who's
watching this piece? Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio, Get
us on x at the Jonas Knox and on Instagram
at Jonas Knox. Showing up next, it's a nether edition
of Do You Care? Right here on FSR Jonas Knox
Fox Sports Radio coming up top of next hour. We'll
(33:09):
call it a little over fifteen minutes from now. Apparently
things are not all right, and apparently a move and
an approach in the world.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
Of sports didn't work.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
We'll get into the details on that for you, coming
up here again a little over fifteen minutes from now.
Before we get to another edition of Do You Care, though,
I want to let you know about the original Louisiana
Hot Sauce. It's the perfect balance of peppers, vinegar and salt, wings, nachos, burgers.
I mean, listen, it's soup season. Throw it in some
clam chowder, hit any tailgate food with the bold, handcrafted
(33:44):
flavor of the original Louisiana Hot Sauce. That's Louisiana Hot.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
Buy you some.
Speaker 6 (33:51):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
Time DMS reports.
Speaker 6 (33:59):
Let's get kinky. Here's some of the big stories from
the last week. But Jonas, the real question is do
you care?
Speaker 1 (34:07):
And for that we turn it over to our executive producer,
the one and only Bo Benzon, to find out what
the hell people have been talking about all week.
Speaker 11 (34:12):
Bo Jonas, I think I just saw LeVar Arrington doing
cartwheels on the sideline at Penn State as they just
scored a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
Hey, and by the way, everybody, keep an eye out
for number eleven. He's on kickoff for Penn State. That's
LeVar Arrington Junior. All right, He's out there and Penn
State's making a game of this thing against Indiana.
Speaker 11 (34:31):
Speaking of LaVar Arrington, the United States President wants the
new Commander Stadium to be named after him. Jonas, do
you care?
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (34:40):
I do. I love it.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
I love how outrage stuff like this gets people.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
I think it's I think I think President Trump is
one of the greatest trolls of all time. I think
this is a giant troll job. And I cannot wait
to see how people get a hold of this throughout
the course of the week and turn this into a
big story and are outraged by something like this, which
really isn't that big of a deal, not all that
(35:09):
big of a deal whatsoever. Yet because his name is
attached to it, people are gonna.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
Run with it.
Speaker 11 (35:14):
Next, Roma Dunsa downplayed his father's comments on social media
after his over game last week, jonas, do you care?
Speaker 2 (35:21):
Uh not really?
Speaker 1 (35:22):
I guess I don't get it. I don't know what
this hit is. This is like when Caleb Williams dad
went would go publicly and complain about stuff, like they
didn't realize that Roma Dunza has been their number one
receiver all year long, Like all year long, he's been
Caleb Williams' top target, and so one game a team
shuts him down and he's got to go elsewhere to
(35:44):
win it. Just the whole thing's weird. I don't get
the approach. I don't understand the approach. I don't know
why some dads get involved like this. But who knows.
Maybe next year for Little league, go get involved on
social media and start complaining with my kids not batting cleanup.
Speaker 11 (35:58):
Next, his third baseman, Munataka Murakami, was posted by his
MPB team, meaning he's eligible to sign with a Major
League Baseball team this winter. Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 1 (36:10):
Yeah, And let me tell you why I love it.
I went down a deep dive last night looking at
some of his highlights, and he just mashes, all right.
I've got a little Kyle Schwarber to him, if you will,
from the left side. But I think that we all
know how this is gonna end up. All right, He's
probably gonna end up being a Dodger. There's probably gonna
be this big, long, drawn out process and people are
(36:33):
gonna like, ah, where's he going, And you're gonna hear
the usual suspects. It's gonna be all the big market teams,
it's gonna be all and then ultimately he's just gonna
end up signing with the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
So we know how this story ends.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
If we could just speed it up and get to
the conclusion, quicker, I think everybody can move on with
their lives.
Speaker 11 (36:48):
Next, former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown was arrested and
extradited to Miami to face attempted murder charges. Jonas, do
you care, Yeah? I think this is this is unfortunate it.
Speaker 1 (37:01):
You know, it's sad to see something like this happen
and not the fact that he got arrested, Like I
don't care about that at all. And you know, I mean, listen,
the guy pulled out a hand cannon and shot at
somebody and could have killed him. Like listen, if you
do the do the crime, you're gonna do the time.
But here's what the real tragedy and all this is
the only thing I've wanted more than to be a
(37:22):
good father is to be named Cracker of the Day.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
That, Like, that is what I strive for. Like I
don't care about all the compliments on social media or
the insults and all this, and none of that matters
to me. Like I open up my my ex account
every single day and I go, is this the day?
Speaker 2 (37:40):
Is this the day? Hands down the greatest Cracker of
all time?
Speaker 1 (37:43):
I mean, I've tried, and I can't get nominated for
the award. I can't even get a sniff for Cracker
the Day. It's really unfortunate, you know, Like I'm like
that that that geek on Willie Wonk and the Chocolate Factory.
How he goes and runs home to Grandpa Joe, who
all of a sudden, now that the kid won the
Golden ticket, can walk out of bed all of a sudden,
(38:04):
like get your old ass.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
Up and help them something lazy ass, But.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
Like I want to be Charlie in the middle of
the street opening up a candy bar and seeing a
cracker of the day, so I can go run home
to my grandfather who's no longer here and get him
up out of bed, even though he could probably could
have walked out of bed three weeks earlier.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
But he's lazy. And let everybody know about my celebrations.
Speaker 11 (38:25):
Next, Prince Harry apologized to Canadians while at an event
in Toronto because he wore a Dodgers hat while in
attendance at a World Series game.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
Jonas, do you care? No, I don't care. Who gives it?
I don't like. I don't like.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
Well, Prince Harry was like, I don't I'm not one
of these people who goes, God, who's at the game?
Speaker 2 (38:46):
Who's there? I don't get what. Let me tell you
who's there, Sho Heo, Tani Boba, Schett, Blake Snell, Miguel Rojas,
Vladimir Guerrero Junior. That's who's at the game. That's what
I care. I don't ca.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
It's like when the Cubs start to do good and
all of a sudden, John cusacks in the front row, like,
oh my god, look boy, what a diehard Cup fan
he is? Really where were you in June?
Speaker 2 (39:09):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (39:10):
Like, where were you at a Friday one twenty game
in June? Nowhere to be found. That's why I give
Eddie Vedder credit. At least he shows up all the time,
but he's blasted and curses on the air.
Speaker 11 (39:20):
Next, Alexander Ovechkin became the founding member of the National
Hockey League's nine hundred Goalscorers Club Jonas Do you care?
Speaker 1 (39:28):
Yeah, yes, I mean how could he not? I love
it here care about something like this. Nobody's ever done
this in the history of the NHL, and Ovechkin and
his gray Beard has been doing it for so long.
If you just think about it like this and this
is and I remember Marcellus Wiley broke down Bruce smith
sacks and he said, Bruce Smith has got two hundred
(39:49):
career sacks. Instead of looking at it like, hey, he
averaged twenty sacks a year for ten years. Imagine he
averaged ten sacks a year for twenty years. Like think
about what Novechkin has done over twenty years. The guys
averaged forty five goals a year for twenty years. That's
(40:11):
more than a goal every other game. Like if you
just if you put that into perspective, it changed the
way you feel about it.
Speaker 11 (40:18):
Next, sportswriter Roger Sherman did a deep dive on the
origin of the touch push. He discovered that the it
came about in twenty seventeen with Kansas State's clown car formation. Jonas,
do you care about this discovery?
Speaker 1 (40:32):
Yeah, And the only reason I do is because I
got to give you a little bit of crowd there,
all right. Nobody hits the post like the great bow Benson.
So the next time you come for him on social media,
just understand when you give him a paragraph to read,
he's going to get it in no matter what. So
we've got a not so surprising development and what some
would call a surprising development. We'll get into that for
(40:53):
you coming up here in just a couple of moments
from now, Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. You can hang
out with us as all on the iHeartRadio app. You
can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across the
country and wherever you are making us a part of
your Saturday. We appreciate you doing so as we take
you all the way up until the end of this
hour right here on FSR. It's a two hour extravaganzas
(41:16):
it's full of high, it's full of low, it's full
of surprises, some stuff that's not so surprising. As Isaac
Lohencron mentioned in his award winning Sports Update, the big
surprise in the world of college football right now is
that Penn State currently has a twenty four to twenty
lead on Fox over Indiana. Second ranked Indiana, who is
(41:40):
sitting at nine to zero Penn State, who struggled all
year long and at home, Penn State has just taken
a lead off an interception of Fernando Mendoza of Indiana.
And so now with six and a half minutes left
to go, and what's been a really choppy game for Indiana,
they haven't really been able to get a consistent flow going.
They are trailing in State College. And the one thing
(42:03):
I can tell you about this in State College, and
this is not to you know, ball wash the program
or the scene or environment, but there are just realities
to this that if you go to certain parts of
the country that it feels differently than it does in
other places when you go and visit a college football
(42:24):
program or you go and see a team play, it
just does. Being in State College last year, probably about
a year ago at this time, being in State College
and being out there and obviously you know the connection
with Lebar Arrington and all that and sort of you know,
seeing the sites and sounds of how they rally around
(42:44):
the football team. That place lives and breathes Penn State football.
Now you could argue there are other programs, There are
other you know, sports, wrestling, volleyball have all football when
it comes to accomplishments. But if you just factor in that,
(43:05):
that really is what that sounds about. First of all,
it's nearly impossible to get there, Like if you're flying
from LA for example, you've got to connect in one spot.
Then you've got to fly to this airport. And the
airport in State College is tiny. It's small stare, but
I've ever seen it's like a hangar. There's not even
really it. There's a cafe, And we joke about it
(43:25):
on the air all the time on Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe, where we're like, is that cafe
ever open, because it's like this tiny little cafe, and
so your options are that if it's open, or you've got.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
A vending machine.
Speaker 1 (43:39):
So it's this like small part and you go into
the city and all it is is Penn State, Penn State,
Penn State, and football is king. And so to see
what they've gone through this year in which they haven't
been able to win the big games, in which they've
been really close but come up short.
Speaker 2 (43:56):
Whether you want to go to the semi final.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
Game against Notre Dame last year, whether you want to
go against all their matchups, whether it was Ohio State
or Michigate, like all these games that they've not been
able to win, and James Franklin was able to recruit
and was able to get big time players, they just
couldn't get over the hump in games like this. And
so to see what they've gone through, James Franklin fired
(44:20):
the expectations going into the season, and then now to
see where they're at. They're with an interim coach, their
starting quarterback got injured and was lost.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
For the year.
Speaker 1 (44:32):
You're losing to teams like UCLA when nobody even wanted
to go to UCLA games. The program's been embarrassed this year,
and so to see them in this spot against this team,
second in the country, the overwhelming favorite, to go on
the road and continue this and to go to ten
and Ozho in the Big ten or ten and oh
(44:52):
overall seven to zero in the Big ten, and to
see this performance by Penn State absolutely phenomenal, which brings
us to our tire rac play of the day.
Speaker 7 (45:01):
Singleton to the right at Gronkeemeier back he goes you
want Singleton? He throws in the twenty turns up bil
fifteenth the first side ten that's not the ten to
the five to the goal lot touchdown, heapstit, don you
want tech delayed what Sex twenty seven ago and Nicholas
Singleton having the game of the season.
Speaker 1 (45:19):
Penn State Sports Network on the call. That is your
tire Rack play of the day. For over forty years,
Tyraq has been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive. Shift Fast and freeback by
free Road has a protection with convenient installation options like
mobile tire installation, tire rack dot Com.
Speaker 2 (45:36):
The way tire buying should be.
Speaker 1 (45:38):
So we will keep you posting on that, but as
it stands right now, Penn State with a twenty four
to twenty lead over Indiana for twenty two left to
go in the game. Indiana just got a delay of
game penalty. It's now a third and sixteen from deep
inside their own territory as they are trying to get
back in this game. Penn State fans finally have something
(46:00):
to cheer about. And so you've got Indiana with the
football four minutes in counting and a third and sixteen
as they are trying to pick up a first down.
And you got to wonder, at this point in the game,
they've got all three timeouts left, is this four down
territory if they don't get it here Mendoza incomplete And
(46:21):
so now that'll bring up a fourth and sixteen for
the Hoosiers and Penn State is rolling right now, and
it looks like it looks like Indiana.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
Are they going to punt it? I believe they are
going to punt it.
Speaker 1 (46:34):
And so now Penn State's got the football back, and
the way Penn States ran the ball today, maybe they'll
be able to grind this clock down to where Indiana
is not gonna have a whole lot of hope this
would be a massive upset, but it would be nice
to see something going the way of good good for
the Penn State Nitney Lions this year with all the
bad that's been run throughout the program over the past
several months.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
So we'll keep you posting on this.
Speaker 1 (46:55):
We'll let you know how this game plays out as
Indiana is trying to avoid the state but upset but
again trailing Penn State twenty four to twenty under four
minutes left to go in the game there in State College. So,
I mean, you could watch this game on Fox, you know,
it's not not that difficult to watch. It's a little
difficult if this game was on ESPN, if you've got
(47:17):
YouTube TV, which is stunning.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
I mean, like this, this game is stunning. This is
a stunning result.
Speaker 1 (47:25):
The fact that if this game were on ESPN and
you can't watch it if you have YouTube TV, that
also would be a stunning result until you factor in
what we talked about last week, which was.
Speaker 2 (47:35):
Oh gosh, so you mean Stephen A.
Speaker 1 (47:38):
Smith and Scott Van Pelton whoever else was rolling out
there telling you to go click a link and fill
out some proposal to get YouTube TV to cave on
their agreement with ESPN or their dispute. Like you mean
that didn't work. You mean you mean all that effort
didn't work. Like I could have sworn that would have worked.
(48:01):
I could have sworn at some point that would have
ended the dispute. Like dude, I said it last week.
Nobody wants to hear about that crap. I know, like
I said it last week. If I've got a problem,
sometimes I don't have time to hear about why the
problem is what it is. I just got to get
(48:22):
it fixed. And I made the comparison last week. Man,
If I'm trying to get somewhere and I blow a tire,
I don't really have time to hear the tire repair
guy explained to me about how the temperature differential and
you know, the the pebble that I ran over, whether
it was a pothole, and how the city hasn't done
(48:44):
a good enough job cleaning up. I don't really care.
Can you just fix the issue so I can enjoy
my car ride the rest of the way and get
to where I need to go. And the fact that
ESPN thinks they can just roll out some personalities and
say we'll go fill out this link and you know,
demand shap, dude, stop, just stop. Nobody wants to hear
(49:06):
that crap. If I'm an SEC fan and I want
to watch an SEC game, I can't watch it if
I've got YouTube TV, because you guys are bitching about
some money. And this isn't just a ESPN criticism. YouTube
TV's partly to blame.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
But it is kind of funny that, you know.
Speaker 1 (49:25):
YouTube TV had different issues with Fox and some others,
and for some reason those seem to get resolved. I
don't know what it was.
Speaker 2 (49:33):
I don't know what it was.
Speaker 1 (49:33):
Like TV's been down this road before and they've gotten resolved,
and for some reason, this one just hasn't been resolved.
Speaker 2 (49:40):
I can't imagine. Why go What do you think that is?
Like if you want to.
Speaker 1 (49:45):
Call it ego, if you want to call it arrogance,
if you want like like however you want to label this.
You got the people, the consumer, the customer who don't
really want you to send us to go fill out
some form demanding change because some ESPN personality copy and
(50:06):
pasted it to their X account and said go here
if you want stop. Nobody cares about that crap. They
don't want to hear about it. They just want you
to get it fixed. Like I blew a tire, don't
tell me about the pothole and why that pothole shouldn't.
Speaker 2 (50:23):
Have been there.
Speaker 1 (50:24):
But it's the local mayor who refused to hire a
repair teams Like no, no, no, I just want my tire fixed, dude,
I gotta get places. If I'm a college football fan
of the SEC, I just want to watch my SEC games.
Speaker 2 (50:36):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (50:37):
I don't want to fill out a form. I don't
want to have you tell me why one side is wrong.
Speaker 2 (50:43):
Stop.
Speaker 1 (50:44):
Enough's enough. But again, this game's on Fox. You don't
have to worry about it. And as it stands right now,
approaching the two minute warning and Penn State has a
twenty four twenty lead over Indiana. Indiana's called their second
time out of the half, so two minutes, fourteen seconds
left to go, a second and ten for Penn State
(51:04):
up four there as they try and grind this clock
out and pull off a major upset in the world
of college football. Jonas Knox here on FSR. By the way,
a lot of positive feedback here on the show. People
really really fired up, really happy about the performance through
an hour and change. Jason writes in you little Dodgers
(51:28):
de sucking bleep in your back to back championship gear
like the groupie you are and the rest of the
bleeps in LA media are now get back to rubbing
out your man bleep to your boy toys. In Blue,
Brian writes in Judas is in crank Heaven with your
(51:51):
bleep Dodgers going back to back while fantasizing about being
ravaged by showtime Otawi and his little mutt dog. While yeah,
out we did it back to back champs. Nobody believed
in US ball washing boardop flaming hoe just like the
bleep ass Toronto Blue Jays. Well, first of all, ball
(52:17):
washing board up flaming hoe Like, I'm not a boardop
and the correct term is technical producer. Everything else is accurate.
But if we could clean that up, that might actually
go places all right.
Speaker 2 (52:33):
Time out Indiana.
Speaker 1 (52:34):
That's their final time out of the half, two minutes,
nine seconds left to go in State College, third and ten.
We will keep you posted on that. We'll have the
conclusion of that game coming up here next. Also here
on the Jonas Knox Show on Fox Sports Radio, we
are going to tell you about two coaches who are
saying all the right.
Speaker 2 (52:53):
Things and none of them believes them. In the NFL.
We'll get into that for you right here on n FSR.
Speaker 1 (52:59):
Jonas is it Today, Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. We
are going to get into but we're gonna have Knox
locks later on, and I'll be honest with you about
Knox locks this week.
Speaker 2 (53:13):
I don't like any of it.
Speaker 1 (53:15):
There's a lot of really suspect, fishy lines in the
world of the world of the NFL gambling wise coming
up here, and I'm not a big fan of any
of them. So we'll get into that for you later
on in this hour. Giving you a quick update on
the game of the day.
Speaker 2 (53:29):
Right now in.
Speaker 1 (53:29):
College football, Penn State has a twenty four to twenty
lead over Indiana. Second ranked Indiana. There's a minute and
seven left to go in the game there, and Indiana
now has the football inside the red zone of Penn State,
so they are driving Fernanda Mendoza with a couple of
(53:50):
long completions in this drive. Indiana's got no timeouts left,
but with the stoppage of the clock after first downs.
Speaker 2 (53:56):
They've got plenty of time.
Speaker 1 (53:58):
And so right now we are looking at a minute
and change coming up on exactly a minute left to
go in the game there in State College, Penn State
holding onto a twenty four to twenty lead. Indiana's got
a first and ten. They're actually approaching the red zone,
not quite there yet, and Fernando Mendoza with a pass
(54:18):
down the sideline looks like it's complete and if so,
that's going to bring Indiana inside the ten yard line.
So's looking to set up to either be a heartbreak
finish for Penn State and a crazy comeback for Indiana,
or one of the big upsets in college football over
the past few weeks.
Speaker 2 (54:38):
So we will keep you posting on that.
Speaker 1 (54:40):
It looks to be a first and goal situation for
Indiana right now and a really impressive drive from Fernando
Mendoza and the Indiana Hoosiers looking to stay undefeated there.
And we'll give you the final and the details on
that as that game does go final coming up here
on the show, all right, So get me on Instagram
at Jonas Knox Show. You can also follow us on
(55:01):
x at the Jonas Knox. By the way, I thought
this was important to point out. I was mentioning that
I you know, the real tragedy in the Antonio Brown
going to jail was that I'm unfortunately probably not gonna
win Cracker of the Day anytime soon, because I don't
know if that's still in existence, if he's going to
be behind bars. Paulie writes in if you don't ever
(55:23):
earn the coveted Cracker of the Day, you will also
have Gringo of the year from your in laws, which
is true.
Speaker 2 (55:35):
I mean that is true. I mean yeah, so look,
he's I mean, he brings up a great point. You
can't win them all, you know.
Speaker 1 (55:41):
So if I've just got to stick with Gringo of
the Year as opposed to Cracker of the Day, then
that's fine. That's a sweet little consolation prize if you
ask me. So there's that again, find me on x
at the Jonas Knox and you can see all the
unedited versions of all of those on Instagram at Jonas Knox.
Going back to State College right now, where Indiana does
(56:04):
have a first in goal from the Penn State seven
yard line, Penn State with a twenty four to twenty lead,
play clock winding down, under a minute left to go,
incomplete pass, and so there'll be forty five seconds left
on the clock and a second in goal for Indiana.
So I did find this somewhat entertaining. So the Eagles
(56:24):
and the Packers play on Monday Night. Philly's coming off
of bye Green Bay's coming off whatever the hell that
was against Carolina last week still very confusing. And so
you've got two good teams in the NFC, you would
think that are going to meet up. And what's fun
about this game is that they're both kind of being
(56:48):
asked about the whole tush push discussion. They're both kind
of being asked about it, and you've got Matt laflora saying, ah,
you know whatever, and they're both kind of downplaying it.
But people don't forget, you know, people don't forget. And
the reason why the tush push conversation is going to
get real loud as that game approaches on Monday night
is because the only reason that the tush push was
(57:12):
even up for debate in the off season for the
NFL to rid themselves of the tush push was because
it was Matt laflor and the Packers who made the proposal.
They were the ones that went to the league to
get it on the docket to try and vote against
it because they wanted it banned. Now, as we found out,
(57:33):
they kind of had, you know, the NFL and people
within the NFL pushing them to do that.
Speaker 2 (57:38):
No pun intended the end, they were being tush pushed into.
Speaker 1 (57:42):
Ay, would you mind throwing this as a proposal, like
proposing this out? They like, do us a solid here,
like that's why that came about. But nonetheless, you've got
Matt lafleor just kind of downplaying it. Nick Sirianni just oh,
you know, just sort of downplaying it. Here's the one
thing we know about Nick Sirianni. All right, if there's
anything If we know anything about Nick Sirianni, Nick Sirianni
(58:04):
does not miss an opportunity to talk some trash or
to rub it in somebody's face.
Speaker 2 (58:10):
He just doesn't.
Speaker 1 (58:12):
You can say he's the perfect coach for Philly. He's
the perfect coach for the Eagles. We've seen him on
the sidelines multiple times. Whether it was yelling at the
Cowboys and Mike McCarthy at the time that's game fu
quote unquote, whether it was yelling at Eagles fans on
the sideline, whether it was the Super Bowl where he's
(58:33):
yelling and making a scene, and even Jalen Hurts was laughing,
like what do you do?
Speaker 2 (58:37):
Like, just Nick Sirianni doesn't miss an opportunity to do this.
Speaker 1 (58:40):
Do you mean to tell me that at no point
during their preparation for this game with a bye week
attached to it, that at no point Nick Sirianni and
the Philadelphia Eagles haven't had a conversation amongst themselves like, hey,
you know what, this was the team that went to
the league to try and get this play band. Like
(59:02):
they did that. We're not making that up. That happened now,
whether they were forced into it like they were, or
whether they did it on their own, which they didn't,
they still did it. And so the idea that Nick Sirianni,
who remembers and keeps score and keeps track.
Speaker 2 (59:20):
Of all of the wrongs.
Speaker 1 (59:24):
He was, I mean so competitive that he would have players,
you know, like a play games during the draft evaluation.
You'd have guys in the draft evaluation like, hey, let's say,
who can shoot the most paper balls in a bat?
Like just weird stuff like that. You made to tell
me that never came up during the course of this
entire week plus of preparation for this game against the Packers,
(59:46):
like never once. I find that hard to believe. So
I don't know if there's a prop bet out there.
I don't know if you can find this on DraftKings,
But if there's an opportunity for over on the number
of two pushes in this game, that'll absolutely hit because
Nick Sirianni doesn't forget and Matt Lafleur knows exactly what's
(01:00:07):
coming to him on Monday Night at the Jonas Knox
on X at the Jonas Knocks on X and again
on Instagram at Jonas Knox Show. By the way, with

Speaker 2 (01:00:36):
Whether or not something was stolen, whether or not something
was stolen from a much maligned team in the world
of sports. That'll be yours here on FSR.
Speaker 1 (01:00:46):
But for all the latest from around the world of sports,
including what looks to be any goradible play in State.
Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
College, the one and only Sir Isaaclaw.
Speaker 9 (01:00:56):
It's under replay review right now to confirm, but in
the for the moment. As a twenty six to twenty
four lead over Penn State with thirty six seconds left
to play in the fourth quarter. Moments ago, Indiana had
a third down and goal at the Penn State seven.
Fernando Mendoza threw a pass to the back of the
(01:01:16):
end zone, and it's been confirmed Omar Cooper Junior of
Indiana made one of the most amazing catches you will
ever see, especially considering the situation. It was in the
very back of the end zone. He was being forced
out of bounds and he somehow got his left toe
and that's it down in the back of the end zone.
(01:01:38):
And I'm kind of worried. Jonas, here's why, so Indiana
going for the extra point right now? It is up
and good, thirty six seconds left in the fourth quarter,
Indiana a twenty seven to twenty four lead over Penn State.
I'm concerned that that play Jonas might have broken the
(01:01:58):
beloved Gus Johnson. And let's listen to his call moments
ago on Fox. I think that might have broken Gus Johnson.
(01:02:19):
I'm deeply concerned about the state of his larynx. It
just sounded like he just sort of expired on the air.
Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
Holy can you play that one more time? Please?
Speaker 10 (01:02:31):
Of course I could play it again.
Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
Here we go.
Speaker 10 (01:02:33):
You ready.
Speaker 9 (01:02:34):
It sounded like he said unbelievable and then he just
sort of evaporated into the other or something.
Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
Do you know?
Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
Are you are you familiar with like professional wrestling announcers?
Speaker 2 (01:02:58):
Are you kidding?
Speaker 9 (01:03:00):
I think that one of the greatest broadcast teams of
all time, right up there with Madden and Summer Ale,
Vince McMahon and Jesse the Body ventur percent.
Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
And by the way, Guerrilla mon Soon was great.
Speaker 1 (01:03:13):
Uh you know what, Iron Kim Ross and Jerry the
King Lawler were fantastic.
Speaker 9 (01:03:18):
Well was Gerrilla mon Soon with color analyst Bobby the
Brain Heenan.
Speaker 1 (01:03:21):
Yeah, Bobby the Brain Heenan. I'm a big Bobby the
Brain Heenan fan me and gene Oakerland is one.
Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
Of the best, the best great voices of all time.
Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
The reason I bring that up, if you were to
search Joey Styles, Joey Styles, Joey Style, any relations to
Harry he was Hey, No, Joey Styles was a was
a an announcer for e c W and then for
the WWE years later.
Speaker 2 (01:03:47):
But if you just look up Joey.
Speaker 1 (01:03:49):
Styles saying, oh my god, it's it sounds exactly like
Gus Johnson just did in that call.
Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
Oh okay, it's tremendous.
Speaker 9 (01:03:58):
Well, we'll get our We'll get our our crack audio
team on that as well. And speaking of our crack
audio team, here's how it sounded on the Indiana Network
with a venerable Don Fisher on w HCC. Let's let
let's compare it to Gus Listen, DJ.
Speaker 4 (01:04:14):
And Omar both bar side Beckery near side Mendoza in
the backfield back to throw, pressure comes again, throws.
Speaker 9 (01:04:22):
It to the end of head, touches braid because it
a touchdown.
Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
Touchdowns believable. Oh they're too proud. Ptty put his foot down.
It's a store for the era.
Speaker 10 (01:04:36):
Your thoughts.
Speaker 1 (01:04:38):
By the way, I love how Penn State's got that
guy called the game from the from the bathroom around
the court.
Speaker 2 (01:04:43):
You can hear him go in the room.
Speaker 9 (01:04:45):
So yeah, if you're familiar with the stadiums, the booth
is very very very very high up and very very small,
So yes, there is reverberation. So Number two Indiana holding
on to a twenty seven twenty four lead over Penn
State twenty four seconds left in the fourth quarter. Right now,
Penn State, which has one timeout left, has a third
(01:05:07):
down and five from its forty one yard line. And
by the way, that drive led by Mendoza, he took
him seventy three yards in a minute and fifteen seconds
in ten plays. Penn State just got a first down,
so they have a first down and ten at their
forty seven yard line with twenty seconds left to play
(01:05:28):
in the fourth quarter. Elsewhere, number eight Texas Tech leading
seventh rank BYU twenty nine to seven to fifty two
seconds left in the fourth Number one Ohio State of
twenty seven to three at Purdue. They are just over
two minutes into the fourth quarter. Earlier, we had number
five Georgia winning at Mississippi State forty one to twenty one,
(01:05:49):
and again twenty seconds left in the fourth quarter. Number
two Indiana holding a twenty seven to twenty four lead
at Penn State. Penn State right now, with no timeouts left,
has a first down and ten coming up. Do you
want to listen to Gus Johnson's call that Indiana go
ahead touchdown one more time.
Speaker 2 (01:06:08):
Well, I'm trying to figure out why Penn State just
called a timeout before they got the first down.
Speaker 10 (01:06:11):
Yeah, you know you had one time out left too.
Speaker 2 (01:06:14):
You just go down and stop the clock and you'll
run two seconds off. But you've saved your last time out.
Speaker 10 (01:06:19):
Yeah, they only needed a field goal anyway.
Speaker 9 (01:06:20):
So yeah, first down and ten for Penn State at
their forty seven yard line, out of timeouts with twenty
seconds left, let's fire off that, Gus one more time
for you and Penn State just threw an incomplete pass,
(01:06:42):
but there's a flag on the play, pending the penalty
with fifteen seconds left again number two Indiana twenty seven,
Penn State twenty four. The call was off side on Indiana,
so again they're in the final seconds there.
Speaker 1 (01:06:55):
Back to you, Jonas, unbelievable game, unbelievable and this is
kind of the I mean, if you're a Penn State fan,
if they end up losing this game, you're looking around
going what the f man and maybe it's just the
Indiana's a team of destiny where you look back, it's
like the World Series. You look at all the near
misses for the Dodgers and you go, look, they were
just meant to win. That's just a team that was
(01:07:17):
meant to win based on all the things that went
their way. And then to see Indiana take the go
ahead lead in this game based on that play and
that catch in the back of the end zone, which
is going to be I mean we're talking two inches
to like an inch and a half to, you know,
further back, and he's out of the end zone, and
(01:07:38):
who knows what happens. But now we've got nine seconds
left in the game, in a second and five for
Penn State. So I had a guy down the sideline
there for a big first down but missed on the throw.
And so now Penn State's going to try and get
in within field goal range to tie this and hopefully
force overtime there in State College. So we will keep
you posted on that. I do have a good feeling
(01:07:59):
that game will go final while we are on the
air here, and so we will have the details on
the conclusion of that game. As Penn State now has
a second and five, they need to pick up a
first down or get out of bounds. So now there's
gonna be one play left, five seconds left, a third
down what will be the final play of the game there,
(01:08:21):
and it looks like we're gonna get a hail mary
from midfield. So, I mean, at this point, who the
hell knows what's gonna happen. Maybe this is the Maybe
this is the play that Penn State finally pulls off
a big win over a top ranked team. Maybe maybe
this is the one, and it's gonna be a hail mary.
I mean, sneaky good play by Indiana on special teams though,
(01:08:45):
that's going to be looked at and people are going
to wonder if that was the difference maker was when
they forced Penn State to punt. The punt went out
of the end zone and they got the ball to
twenty based on a play made by the punt returner,
And now we will have a hail mary towards the
back of the or the end zone comes up short.
Game is over. Indiana has won it. Twenty seven to
(01:09:05):
twenty four is the final. The Hoosiers ten and oh
seven and oh in the Big Ten and that is
the final from State College. All right, Jonas Knox here
on Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knox on X
and you can get us on Instagram at Jonas Knox Show.
Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
We are going to have another edition of Knox Locks.
Speaker 1 (01:09:26):
As I said earlier, not thrilled with some of the
lines that are out there, but that'll be yours here
coming up in about ten minutes from now. I do
wonder this because there was a lot of conversation about
the fake punt by USC, and my point on the
fake punt because people, you know, are outraged because USC
dressed up a quarterback in the same number as the punter.
(01:09:50):
All right, so Sam hewart Son of brock Heward, he
was dressed up as number eighty, which he doesn't wear,
and he was dressed like the hunter in order to
pull off the fake punt. Now, Sam Johnson is the punter.
Speaker 2 (01:10:05):
He's the original lady. So they basically wore the same number.
Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
They put the quarterback out there, he completed the pass,
the fake was successful, and you know, USC went on
to win the game. It's not like that was you know,
what won them the game. But there's a lot of
people to look at that.
Speaker 2 (01:10:21):
And go, well, that's I mean, that shouldn't be allowed.
I agree with you. It's a scumbag move, but it's not.
Speaker 1 (01:10:25):
Illegal for being fair, all right, And I made the
point earlier, just like it's not illegal if you see
an old lady drop money out of her wallet or
out of her purse and instead of giving it back
to her, you just pick it up when she walks
away and take it on over and buy something at
the liquor store.
Speaker 2 (01:10:40):
I mean, it's not illegal. You just would hope that
you would have the sense to not do that.
Speaker 1 (01:10:45):
Well, I do wonder this, While it is a scumbag move,
I think it is a sign of positive growth. They
had to bomb in their practice a couple of years
ago fielding punts, and now their punt team is filled
with quarterbacks at least, so that's like a side of improvement.
But I do also wanted this was this stolen not
from Bowling Green last year, but was this place stolen
(01:11:10):
from the Los Angeles Angels of Orange County Anaheim. And
the reason I say that is because if anybody knows.
Speaker 2 (01:11:18):
This story, you're familiar. If you don't, I'll fill you in.
Speaker 1 (01:11:25):
A few years back when shoe Heyo Tani ever heard
of him greatest player of all time. He was with
the Angels for a while, like he was doing amazing
things down there, but nobody cares about Jels, and nobody
cares about Angel Stadium unless there's a Monster Jam event there.
Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
I've been to three, I know.
Speaker 1 (01:11:39):
But apparently show Heyo Tani could not attend team picture
day for some reason. There was team picture day and
he was not available for some reason. So what the
Angels did is they dressed up a white guy on
the coaching staff who was similar and framed to shoe
Heyo Tani in Otani gear and put him in the
team photo.
Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
Not making that up. That's a real story.
Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
So I just wonder if Lincoln Riley was kind of
maybe listening to this podcast or something along those lines
and he heard us tell the story about how the
Angels needed to have Showe a Otani in the team
photo because he was the best player on the team,
but he couldn't make the team photo for some reason,
so they just dressed up one of their coaches, a
white guy who was similar in stature and Otani gear.
Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
To put him in the photo.
Speaker 1 (01:12:28):
And then I think they photoshopped Otani's face on him afterwards.
So I just wonder maybe that's where Lincoln Riley got
this from. Maybe it wasn't from the Bowling Green Bowl
game a year ago. Maybe he stole this from the Angels,
which would be the most the Angels have done to
win a game in Southern California in years years.
Speaker 2 (01:12:50):
So there is that.
Speaker 1 (01:12:53):
So this the more you stay take a step back
and look at it, this is like a win for
everybody here in Southern California. So congratulations to all involved.
By the way, the only way to make that even
better is to put some Louisiana Hot Sauce on it.
The original Louisiana Hot Sauce is the perfect balance of peppers,
vinegar and salt. Wings, nachos, burgers, hit any tailgate food

But right now it is time for this.
Speaker 6 (01:15:14):
Locked it. Let's lock it and no Knox loucks.
Speaker 1 (01:15:20):
All right, So let's address last week. Another two in
one week. I mean, this is just the norm at
this point. This is what we do on this show.
We go two and one. The Falcons at the Patriots.
I liked Atlanta getting five and a half points on
the road at New England. Drake May struggled a little
bit in that game, which he hasn't done a lot
of this in this season. But the Atlanta Falcons in
(01:15:42):
a game that I thought was done. They were down
by two touchdowns at one point. I just assumed that's
the way that game was going to go. They end
up getting back into the game, missed pat We don't care.
We had five and a half points that we were
playing with and the Falcons kept it close.
Speaker 2 (01:15:58):
Still lost, but that's a win for US.
Speaker 1 (01:16:00):
So Falcons plus five and a half was a win
the Bills plus two.
Speaker 2 (01:16:05):
I loved that bet.
Speaker 1 (01:16:06):
I'm never concerned with Buffalo playing Kansas City in the
regular season. It's just that whole postseason thing that's a
problem for them. So we won that game, and then
you know, Seahawks Commanders. I had the Commanders getting three
points at some point in time. I'm going to just
accept the fact that Seattle doesn't lose on the road.
They've won ten straight games on the road. Washington is
(01:16:27):
flawed this year. They feel a little snake bit Jade
Daniel's arm almost fell off. But nonetheless, we take the loss,
we take it on the chin. We accept our two
to one performance last week, which puts US at fifteen
and twelve overall for the season. And then we get
to this week, and I'll just be truthful with you.
I don't like any of these all that much, but
(01:16:48):
you gotta make picks, you gotta put it on the
line sometimes, So let's roll.
Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
Patriots, said Buccketeers.
Speaker 1 (01:16:57):
I'm just gonna go against the New and Patriots yet again.
Here I look at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I think
they're one of the better teams in the NFC. Are
they an NFC champion?
Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:17:08):
But the way Baker Mayfield has played Tampa Bay's coming
off a bye week, I think New England showed some
flaws last week New England. By the way, we mentioned
Seattle on the road. New England's undefeated on the road
this year as well too. But in this spot, I'm
gonna take the Tampa Bay Buccaneers minus two and a half.
I like the Bucks here. I think they're the better team.
(01:17:29):
I think being at home would play to their advantage.
I think maybe we saw some stuff from Drake may
that that could be if you're Todd Bowles in that defense,
you could look at and say, we could make this
a problem for him. I'm gonna go with Tampa Bay.
Not crazy about it, but I'll take the Bucks minus
a two.
Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
And a half. Ram said forty nine ers.
Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
Definitely not crazy about this one, but I'll take the
Rams minus four and a half. Look, they've won the
last couple in the Bay Area, okay, But historically speaking,
the Niners have kind of had their way with the
Rams Shanahan's had his way with Sean McVay, especially at home.
But in this spot, I look at Sean McVay and
(01:18:10):
I go, he's gonna have this team ready to play.
I mean, they came off the by they dominated New
Orleans last week. Quietly, Matthew Stafford might be the MVP
of the league with the way that he's playing. He's
got twenty one touchdowns just two picks. The Niners again
are gonna go with Mac Jones. But if you remember
the last time these teams met, it was on a
Thursday night. Mac Jones saw a dead body at the
(01:18:33):
hotel before he came to the stadium, true story, not
making that up. And then he went out there and
had full blown body cramps for like three and a
half hours, and still they won the game. And if
you remember afterwards, it was Sean McVay who was called
into question because of the play call on fourth down,
which ultimately ice the game for the forty nine ers
on the road, a game they shouldn't have won. In
(01:18:54):
this spot, I know historically you would go with Kyle
Shannan here, I'm gonna take Sean McVay and the Rams
minus four and a half on the.
Speaker 3 (01:19:01):
Road, Eagles at Packers.
Speaker 1 (01:19:05):
I don't like this game from the standpoint that Philly's
coming off the buy. The one thing I like about
this is I can't imagine that green Bay comes out
and looks like they did last week against Carolina. They
were awful, absolutely awful. They go from one week they're
beating the Steelers and they're dominant and that looks like
a potential NFC champion to what the f was that
(01:19:26):
against Carolina at home? But here the Packers in primetime
in a bounce back spot. I think it's going to
be a close game. But give me green Bay minus
one at home on Monday night and that is your
Week ten edition of Knockdown.
Speaker 2 (01:19:42):
Knocks. I don't like any of them. I'll be honest
with you.
Speaker 1 (01:19:46):
I don't, but apparently I do. Apparently the NFL does,
and the odds makers do. None of them made sense
this week. For Bo, for Isaac, for Chris, appreciate you
hanging out with us here, Keep it here all day
long on Fox Sports Radio.
