Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're gonna stop. From the beginning, Jonas Knocks, you thought
you knew me. You didn't know a thing about me.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
He's crazier than a else.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
Wrapped that guy, Jonas Knocks, you heard me.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
The brain some darkness is lighting up your speakers to
establish an alibi for the day. No Live from the
Fox Sports Radio studios, here's Jonas Knox.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
YEP, Okay, I'm the part of this world.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
You know, sooner or later, you just got to accept
the reality that it's over and they're gone. We'll get
into that for you coming up here in just a
couple of moments from now, Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
You can listen to this show as.
Speaker 3 (00:56):

hundreds of affiliates all across the country and wherever you
are making us a part of your Saturday, we appreciate
you doing so. We will be taking you all the
way up until four pm Eastern time, one o'clock specific
So there's all sorts of things that are happening, because
right now is the time on the calendar.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
When it comes to the football season where you sort
of have an.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Understanding who is who and what is what right, teams
that are real, teams that are not, teams that are contenders,
teams that are pretenders. Like you're starting to get a
grip on reality. All right, So this is where we are,
all right, at least you would think. But then there's
some teams that pop up that apparently don't see in
(01:42):
front of them a dead body. And I'm not talking
about the one that Mac Jones outside his hotel a
few weeks back when he was in La. I'm not
talking about that. I'm talking about your season is dead.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
It's over, and yet nobody wants to like just raise
their hand and go, can we call hers? Please?
Speaker 3 (02:02):
Like, if somebody get this out of here, somebody wrap
this up, you know, put it in a bag, and
we got to move on. And that's certain. Somebody that
we start with today is the Cincinnati Bengals. So the
Cincinnati Bengals, according to Adam Schefter and a source that
spoke with Adam Schefter earlier today, apparently Joe Burrow's not
(02:25):
going to be activated, right, Apparently that's not gonna happen.
There was some thought that maybe Joe Burrow was going
to be activated for tomorrow's game, but this is more
of a cautious approach. It's a cautious approach because the
Bengals look at it and say, well, you know you
got you got the Ravens coming up on Thanksgiving night
and you got all that so and look, no problem,
(02:48):
I get it all right, you got the Patriots tomorrow
and then you got the Ravens, Like, I totally get it.
And you know, you got to like do some math here,
and you got to like look at things and look,
Joe Burrow said it himself, like a wild card spot
for anybody in the AFC North is probably a long shot.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Like it's that's probably over.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
So this is all about winning your division, right, That's
what this is all about. So let's just let's just
you know, run through this some what ifs, if you will.
Let's do a little bit of math here on the
Cincinnati Bengals and where they stand, since they wanted to
let everybody know, or at least let Adam Scheffer know,
that Joe Burrow will not be activated, never mind the
(03:33):
fact that he like took you know, first team reps
and all that stuff, and Joe Flacco's a little banged up.
Burrow's not going to be ready to go for tomorrow. Right,
So let's just let's just practice this. We'll just run
through this together. So, if the Bengals lose this game
against the Patriots, which they are projected to do based
on the betting odds, I believe they are about a
touchdown underdog, maybe more at this point. If the Patriots
(03:58):
beat the Bengals, Cincinnati is three and eight.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Okay, they're three and eight.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
If the Ravens beat the Jets, which I mean at
this point I think we can all agree on is
probably gonna happen, Baltimore would be six and five. And
then best case scenario, the Pittsburgh Steelers lose to the Bears,
which who knows, Like that's like a two to two
(04:27):
and a half point spread. Chicago's got a bunch, like
all their linebackers are injured on defense, Rogers is banged up,
but who knows. But let's say best case scenario, Pittsburgh
loses to Chicago. So now the Steelers are tied with
the Ravens. Right, So what we're saying here is that Cincinnati,
(04:47):
who still has their eye on the prize, is three
games back with six to go. Yeah, but you got
division games, fair totally get it. So you're three games
back with six to go, with the worst defense in
the league. Does that sound like something that makes a
(05:11):
lot of sense to you? Like, I understand there being hope,
and then I understand there being false hope, and then
I understand there being dead hope. This is dead hope.
You're three games back with six to go, and you've
got by far the worst defense in the league. And
(05:35):
we're really entertaining this that this is a real possibility
of happening like this, Like we're really like this. This
is an actual conversation that people are having, and Bengal
fans are probably looking at this going, oh yeah, like
you like carry the two and then yeah, no, this
could definitely it's over, dude. And I've said this and
(06:00):
I'll say it again. When you gave up leads or
you blew games against the Jets and the Bears, that
was it. That was the toe tag being printed and
we zip you up and put you in the box.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
It's over.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
So like this whole Hey, Joe Flacco, Joe Burrows close
to returning. You know, Joe Flacco's banged up, but he's
taken all the first teams rather than like God, but
you know, we're gonna play it's safe here. We're not
gonna put Burrow out there. We're gonna wait until the division.
And what are you doing that with your defense?
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Too?
Speaker 3 (06:40):
The defense is awful. They're the worst defense in the league.
And it's not really all that close. But you think
down three games with six to.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Go, Yeah, no, we still listen, everything's gonna be fine.
Everything's gonna be fine here. We got right where we
want him.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
At a certain point, if you're a Bengals fan, or
if you're somebody that wants to be honest about this
whole situation, at a certain point, you got to look
at this and go, hey, hey, guys, it's time to
move on. These are like the people that love their
pets so much that they get them taxidermied, Like they
get them stuffed and put in their house, Like.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Hey, what happened to h.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
What happened to Roger? You know, you're pit Bull you
had for all those years? What do you mean, well,
I mean it's been a while, like you pass? Yeah, okay,
So why is he over there staring at me and
not moving?
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Oh? You know he's always with us. No, he's not
he's dead. I had a dog once. You know where
he is. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
I don't know, but he's definitely not on my wall
looking at me. He's definitely I don't have him mounted
on the wall looking at me while I change. You
gotta move on, man, At some point, you gotta move on,
and you gotta just accept what reality is. And yet
(08:18):
here we are and people are really entertaining these discussions
like this is a real thought. Do you realize, just
to put into perspective, if the Bengals lose tomorrow and
the Cleveland Browns win tomorrow, And by the way, what's
(08:39):
more likely to happen? That the Bengals are gonna beat
the Patriots or the Browns are gonna beat the Raiders?
Anybody's seen the Raiders play, speaking of bad teams, So
what's more likely to happen? I would say probably Cleveland
beating Las Vegas. If the Browns beat the Raiders tomorrow
and Cincinnati loses, hide do you hear a Browns fan saying, yeah,
(09:07):
but you know what, we got him right where we
run him. Like, let me tell you something, we got
them right where we want him. We could really make
a run at this thing, man, we got six to go?
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Or no? And do you want to know why?
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Because the Cleveland Browns understand the situation we're in. They
get it like they understand it. Hey, Lloyd, your dog
he's dead.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
You know what the Browns are They're like, yeah, you
know what, that's a shame.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
You want his ashes? Man, it doesn't matter. He's gone anyways.
You guys do what you want with him. We don't
even know what we're gonna get back anyways. It could
have been some guy's cigar that he was dropping off
into a can somewhere.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Like, I mean, listen, what do we know. We don't
know what we're getting back.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
At least the Browns have a realistic understanding of who
they are and what has happened to their season. The Bengals,
on the other hand, are like, yeah, stuff him and
put him up there, that's fine.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Same thing.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Hey, how come there's all those dog treats under that
thing on the wall. Wow, we're thinking he's gonna eat
at some point, No, he's probably not, because he's dead.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
Your season's dead.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
It's over, and at some point you gotta have a
realistic conversation and you gotta move on whatever happens next
year in Cincinnati and Zach Taylor and joke like whatever,
that's all fine.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
We can have that discussion at some.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Point, but as far as right now, it's over. There's
no pulse, there's no saving it. Zip him up, put
him in the back of a hurst, and your season's
over and you move on to next year at the
Jonas Knox on x at Jonas Knox Shaw on Instagram

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Coming up a little over ten minutes from now, we
are going to hand out an award on this show.
It's our TGFG Game of the Week in the NFL.
That'll be yours here on FSR. Quick update from Columbus.
Ohio State has just scored on a third and goal,
Max Clair with the touchdown reception, and the buck guys
have a twenty three lead over Rutgers at home in
(13:06):
the third quarter. Listen, I mean, you know, iow State
doesn't look great, but they're down. Jeremiah Smith, Carnell Tates out.
You know, there's several others that are out. They got
the game coming up next week against Michigan, so you know,
like maybe a little bit of a look ahead situation.
Rutgers was in this game in the first half, couple
(13:28):
of you know, a bad roughing the passer penalty which
would have gotten them, you know, would.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
It basically saved Ohio States.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Drive and led to a touchdown. But nonetheless, the buck
guys are up twenty one to three. They are hopefully
going to be in cruise control, and we can set
up the game next weekend against Michigan as one of
the great rivalries in all of sports. So we've got
that storyline. Then we got another one, speaking of great rivalries,
the Egg Bowl ole Miss Mississippi State. That's also a
(14:00):
great rivalry that you know traditionally takes place next weekend
as well too. And you know, apparently next Saturday is
going to be a big day for ole Miss. You
would assume they're going to beat Mississippi State the day before,
but next Saturday is going to be a big day
because apparently we're going to get some answers here, all right,
(14:22):
We're we're going to get some answers. Keith Carter, ole
Miss Athletic director. He announced that Lane Kiffin's future the
head coach of ole Miss is going to come on
November twenty ninth, following the team's Egg Bowl match against
Mississippi State. So next Saturday, after ole Miss, assuming they
(14:47):
beat Mississippi State. After ole Miss beats Mississippi State, we're
going to get an answer on Lane Kiffin's future. I mean,
at this point, does anybody really think Lane Kiffin's going
back to ole Miss?
Speaker 1 (14:59):
Really? Does anybody believe that that's happening here? Does anybody
think that's happening? Because the reports that are out there.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Ross Dellinger reported this that apparently LSU's got an offer
of ninety million dollars over seven years, but the biggest
factor in the reported offer is that there's the promise
of significant nil roster commitments that could exceed twenty five
million dollars. Dellinger said that the nil portion of it
could be the most important factor for Lane Kiffen. You've
(15:33):
also seen the Florida reports that are out there that
maybe Lane Kiffen would entertain the idea of going to Florida.
So you've got Florida, you've got LSU, and you've got
ole Miss announcing a decision next Saturday, all in the
midst of the fact that ole Miss is going to
the College Football Playoff. But never mind that, Let's talk
(15:55):
about all this stuff and it's just the whole thing's weird.
Lane Kiffin is in a quote unquote committed relationship with
ole Miss. Meanwhile, Ole Miss knows that he's on dating
apps and he's out there and there's a flirtatious And
(16:16):
if you're one of these players at ole Miss, are
you looking around going hey, like we're trying to we're
trying to compete for a national championship, Like we're going
to go to the college football playoff? Why is that
not the story? And whatever report that came out to
where there was this quote unquote ultimatum that was made,
whether it was a report that leaked or whatever the
(16:38):
case may be, Ole Miss got really insecure about the
whole situation and they're looking for answers, and we demand
answers the fact that this is a storyline.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
And I get it. It's a bye week. I get it.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
They're not playing this weekend. So if there's going to
be a week to you know, get to this. But dude,
like ultimatums, offers, reports, leaks, announcements. Uh, Lane Kiffin saying
there was no ultimatum. It's much like we talked about
(17:14):
the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Season already being over. I would be shocked if Lane
kiffen went back to LSU, or it went and went
back to Ole Miss.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
See I'm already announcing it. I would be shocked if
he went back to Ole Miss, whether it's Florida, whether
it's LSU. The way this whole thing has been handled,
it's almost like both people know, hey, listen, we're you
know it, like this has run its course. Appreciate it.
You know it was awesome, Like I think we both
benefited each other here, but like we're out of here.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
It's over. Like I don't think anybody thinks that Lane
Kiffin next Saturday is And by the way, here's what's
awkward about the whole thing. Ole Miss wins.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
Next Saturday, or Miss wins next Friday, and next Saturday
is going to come out and be like, hey, we're
headed to the college football playoff, but I'm going elsewhere.
Like it's just made an awkward situation set up for
a more awkward news conference or awkward announcement next Saturday.
And then the fact that LSU's on the other side
(18:18):
of this, which we talked about it last week. LSU
and their handling of coaches in the past is just bizarre,
Like they're handling of the Brian Kelly stuff like Na Na.
You know, we're trying to say that we didn't fire
him so they don't have to give him the fifty
four million dollars. You've got politicians getting involved. Ed ors
(18:38):
Ron won a national championship and then he was gone
Less Miles. There was a report he was out, and
then he does some coaches show and a kids start show,
and next thing you know, Less Miles is back, but
then he's gone like four or five games five games
later the next season. So Lshu's handling of all this
is weird. But the Ole Miss Lane Kiffin stuff in
(19:00):
the last week two weeks has gotten bizarre, and it
took another turn. So if you're looking for answers and
you want to know whether or not Lane Kiffin is
going to be Ole Missus head coach next year and beyond,
don't worry. You're gonna get your answer next Saturday. And
the answer is gonna be no, because I can't imagine
(19:22):
the way this whole thing has been handled that Lane
Kiffin's gonna stick around there and be the head coach
at All Miss longer than this next egg Bowl game.
And who the hell knows what happens in the college
football playoff at the Jonas Knox on AX. And by

I saw this, and uh.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
Like, there's re and then there's this from Mike Florio.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
According to Mike Florio, the ongoing coverage of Bill Belichick
and Jordan Hudson by the New York Post is one
of many reasons for the giants complete lack of interest
in the possibility of hiring Belichick to coach the team. Yeah,
the New York Post coverage of Belichick's relationship is factoring
(20:31):
into the Giants' decision to not hire him. Does anybody
believe that anywhere? I don't even know if Mike Floria
believes that.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
The New York.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
Post covering Belichick's dating life is the least of the
giants problems. You know what's a bigger problem for the Giants.
They're awful and they've bad for a decade. Like I'm like, no, no,
like real bad. Like the only team worse than the
(21:07):
Giants in the last ten years has been the Jets
by like a half game or something like that. Like
the idea that Belichick's relationship has anything to do with
the Giants not hire. No, the reason the Giants aren't
hiring Belichick is because it hasn't gone well at North Carolina.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
And he's like seventy.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
Three, and the Giants are looking at this going look,
we've turned and burned so many coaches. We'd like to
have somebody that can be a foundational piece as part
of this organization, and we can hire somebody and then
go from there. I would love to see Belichick. I
said it last week. I would love to see Belichick
go back to New York. It's a great story for him.
(21:53):
He spent so many years with the Giants, he loves
the organization. But Belichick releasing a statement saying, I'm committed
in North Carolina. I'm not interested in any other jobs.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
It's like, all right, okay, like you know, not that
you were really gonna get consideration, but okay.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
So he stays at North Carolina. But the Giants weren't
hiring Belichick because the Giants have turned and burned too
many coaches.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
In the last decade.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
None of it has worked, and they're gonna hire somebody
that they can stick with and ride with as they
try and turn the ship because they've been terrible for
a long time. All this conversation about the prestigious Giants organization,
the Giants organization that everybody respects and they're classy and
(22:36):
they're no, they're terrible.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
That's a terrible team, and they've been terrible for a
long time. Them not hiring Belichick has nothing to do
with the New York Post coverage of them. Like what
are we talking about?
Speaker 3 (22:55):
Like the New York Post probably covered Lawrence Taylor doing blow?
Did the Giants trade him?
Speaker 1 (23:06):
You know what I mean? Like, what are we talking
about here? That has nothing to do with it. Do
you think that the New York Post covers all sorts
of stuff? Have the Giants steered clear of controversies before?
Have the Giants been like, oh, no, they've got to No,
this is a bit. No. The Giants are trying.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
To set themselves up for the future. They'd like to
win now, but really they'd like to win for years
to come, and Belichick could be out of here in
three four years. Remember the contract Pete Carroll got from
the Raiders. I think it was a three year deal.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Why do you think that contract was shorter than some
of the other coaches contracts we've seen in the NFL?
Why because he's older, Because he's a bridge The Giants
aren't looking to hire a bridge coach. They're looking to
hire somebody that can develop their young quarterback and that
they can build with for years to come. If Belichick
(24:04):
was twenty years younger, do you think the New York
Posts covering him in his relationship do you think the
Giants would look at that and go, man, this guy's
got a lot of years. Ooh, but never mind. The
New York Post is doing a deep dive on his relationship.
Speaker 7 (24:17):
No nobody cares, but it's irrelevant to the whole story.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
So I know that we're trying to find reasons why.
It's pretty simple. They've been bad for a decade. They've
hired and fired way too many coaches. That's probably the
reason Brian Dayball got another year because they didn't want
to look like that team again, even though they are
they've hired and fired way too many coaches in the
(24:47):
last ten plus years, and they're trying to build with
somebody for the long term, not a bridge head coach,
so they can hire the next guy at the Jonas
Knox on x at Jonas Knox Show on Instagram.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
And you can hang out.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
This is always on the iHeartRadio app. Right it's coming
up next to here. We are going to hand out
an award on this show. We do it every single Saturday.
That'll be yours on Fox Sports Radio. But right now
for all the latest from around the world of sports,
ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for a man who's
definitely not a bridge update anchor. He's the one and only,
the prestigious, the magnificent.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
He's Sir Isaac Loncron And among the reasons why my
endless reservoir of stories and you bringing up Lawrence Taylor
and the New York Coast inspired my memory. So Lawrence Taylor, Hello,
by the way, Hi, Isaac. Lawrence Taylor once showed up
late to a team meeting and his teammate Carl Banks
(25:44):
noticed that when he was walking or moving, he was
making a jangling noise and he says, hey, Lawrence, what's
that noise? Are you wearing bracelets or something? And he
was wearing handcuffs. It turned out that the reason he
was late to the meeting is the prior evening he
(26:06):
was entertaining a female companion who utilized handcuffs as part
of the evening's entertainment, and this presumably delightful young lady
departed in the morning with the key to the handcuffs.
All right. Yeah. Also on a related story, it turned
(26:30):
out that during his career, Lawrence Taylor would attempt to
get a game day energy edge by the night before
a home game, sending how can I put this delicately
Ladies of the Evening to the team hotel of the Giants' opponents,
(26:52):
And when he was asked how he came up with
that idea, he said, well, the Houston Oilers actually successfully
use that tactic on me earlier in my career. So
there you have it. Hold on, I say, I'm a
little confused here. What do you mean by ladies of
the Evening? What do you mean by that? It doesn't
matter if you know what I'm talking about, Jonas, because
(27:14):
I typically assume that you don't. It just matters that
your listeners know what I'm talking about, and your listeners
know what I'm talking about. Oh you mean hookers, I said,
Ladies of the Evening, How care you use such a
deleterious I mean, sure, a less term.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
Well, I mean you listen to your professional broadcaster. I
think I think the term hooker should be your vernacular.
If I'm being honest here A really listen and you
know what, Hey, at least he gives credit where credit
is due.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Well are you? Are you referring to one time Cleveland
Brown's receiver Fair Hooker. No, I wasn't familiar with his work. Yes, well,
he played for the Cleveland Browns from nineteen sixty nine
to nineteen seventy four, and when he was mentioned on
a Monday night football telecast, analyst dandy Don Meredith retorted, quote,
(28:03):
I haven't met one yet.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Which is probably a lie, But I would say, but
did the New York Post cover all those transgressions from
Lawrence Taytors? It probably did, And I don't remember the
Giants trading him. I don't remember the Giants be like,
you know what, this is way too much coverage. You know,
the New York Post is on it, So we got
to steer clear. Like Mike Florio trying to push that
(28:27):
is as a legitimate reason as to why the Giants
would be interested in Belichick.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
Well, the New York Post is covering him. We got
to steer clear. The Giants don't care, but the New
York Post they don't care. Here's my last Lawrence Taylor's story.
Then I'll move on to more present NFL news. But
Lawrence Taylor once failed a drug test when he submitted
the urine of a teammate. So he was like, I'm
(28:52):
not going to pass. He got one of his teammates
to supply, and unfortunately that teammate's urine did not pass
the test. You know, why did they? You know, why
would you try and you know, air a teammate out
like that if you're gonna cheat and give, Like, why
don't just use dog urine? You know what I mean?
Like right before you leave the.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
House, Like, take your dog on a walk, put a
cup under him. That's a let him, let him drain
the train.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
You know, you take it in and get tested. But
what if your dog, what if your dog had some
tainted coke head? I mean, if you're Lawrence Taylor's dog
back in the day. That's that's a fair point.
Speaker 3 (29:29):
If your dog's if your if your dog's a snowblower,
then that wouldn't work a fair point.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
Isaac. Hey, listen, and that's why you're here, Isaac. Yeah.
You know, studying under a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist in
college and it all led to this.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
Isa She loves swimming in the mud with me every Saturday.
Speaker 1 (29:50):
And't this fun? I wouldn't say I swim in the mud.
It's kind of snorkeling in the mud. It's a lot.
It's a lot deeper than I get mixed up in.
All right. I will try to save face by that
of the NFL. The Bengals did not activate Joe Burrow today.
That means Joe Flacco starts at quarterback tomorrow against the Patriots.
Colts activated Charvarius Ward from injured reserve. Rams Land BT
(30:10):
linebacker Nate Landman agreed to a three year, twenty two
million dollar extension. NBA twelve time All Star Chris Paul
will reportedly retire after the season. College football a bunch
of blowouts. Number one Ohio State up twenty eight to
three over Rutgers late in the third quarter. Eighth ranked
Oklahoma up seventeen to six over number twenty two Missouri
with five seventeen left in the third quarter. Thirteenth ranked
(30:33):
Miami up twenty seven to ten at Virginia Tech with
three minutes left to play in the third quarter. Elsewhere,
in a non conference game, number three Texas A and
M leeds Samford forty one to nothing two and a
half minutes into the fourth quarter. And finally we have
an update from the stadium from the Texas A and
M Campus police, who posted a short time ago quote
(30:57):
public Intoxication Section one twenty eight intoxicated subject found staring
at a wall released to sober girlfriend. Ejected a reminder,
it's only one thirty eight local time in college station.
I'm sure the sober girlfriend is very proud back to you.
(31:19):
So he get arrested for staring at a wall. No,
he was just he was he was just ejected from
the stadium.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
No, probably probably uh well ejected. He's probably swaying back
and forth.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Perhaps, but probably it's just that the action on the
field is way more entertaining than the action off the field. Earlier,
the campus police found an intoxicated subject who thought they
were on the first level of the stadium, but was
actually on the fourth level of the stadium. It's only
three levels off back to you. So he was a
(31:52):
sofi basically, I know, I know, Yeah, it's a little
rough there. Yeah. By the way, I do want to
make mention of this, Maybe some concern for the Organ Ducks.
Brady Quinn called me. He was leaving Cincinnati, heading back
(32:12):
home to see his family in Columbus after doing Big
New Kickoff. He called me about a half hour before
the show. You know, maybe some concern for the Organ Ducks.
They got some injuries and the USC Trojans are catching
ten and a half on the road there. So for anybody,
you know, wondering, anybody wondering that there's a there's a
(32:32):
potential upset, you know, that could be one coming up
later on. You know, I'm honestly fascinated, but not actually
by that. No offense. But I really didn't assume that
Brady would reach out and contact you on his own.
I just thought you'd do a show and then he doesn't,
He doesn't initiate contact with you. No, no offense. By
(32:56):
We were talking about this not long ago, Brady one
and I have worked together.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
I think we're coming up on ten years your FOM
Sports Radio, and I don't know how many other duos
have a longer run than us. I swear if you
think about the network, I think Arnie Span, your Chris Plank,
maybe Mike Carmen, Jason Smith.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
But it's close. Like we you know, we.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Put time in together, we put we put a lot
of time in together, and I was given I give
my hard time like I'm I'm your longest tenured teammate
in his entire football career high school, college, NFL.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
Wow, if only you could have been a receiver on
the Cleveland Browns back in the day. I'm just saying
they were fine. They had Josh Cribbs, of course, yeah,
they were good. Well, thank you, Isaac. I appreciate it.
Uh so. Uh you'll hear from Isaac throughout the course
of this shows. He keeps you updated on dogs that
do cocaine For the next hour plus. We are going
(33:57):
to have another edition of Do You Care coming up
here in about to.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
Well less than ten minutes from now. But right now
it is time to hand out an award on this show.
It's time for our.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
TGFG Game of the week, and the game of the
week goes too Falcons at Saints. Oh, I know what
you're thinking. Wait a second, how could he thank God
for gambling game of the week, which routinely goes to
the least interesting game in the NFL every single Sunday.
(34:27):
How could that go to anybody other than the Browns
and the Raiders. Well, it's easy because Shandor Sanders is starting.
It's his first career start. And let's be honest here,
hot take artists everywhere are going to be glued to
that four h five Eastern time kick in Las Vegas
between the awful Browns and maybe even the worst Las
(34:48):
Vegas Raiders. So if you're looking around, it was nearly
the Jags and the Cardinals. But the Jags are a
winning team. At least they've got a winning record. And
even though tickets are like forty five cents to sit
front row at that game in Air Arizona, we're gonna
go Falcon Saints. The Atlanta Falcons have been one of
the most disappointing teams in the NFL by far. They're
(35:09):
not good. I said it a week ago. The highlight
of the Falcons and Panthers game was the fact that
the previously mentioned Brady Quinn was on the call.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
Other than that that team stinks New Orleans awful team they've.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
Been looking to next year three years ago. So, without
further ado, your TGFG Game of the Week, your thank
God for gambling Game of the Week goes to Falcon
Saints and NFC South dual for twenty five Eastern time
on Fox. Because if not for gambling, who the hell's
watching that?
Speaker 3 (35:43):
Piece at the Jonas Knox on x at Jonas Knox
Shaw on Instagram. And by the way, speaking of the Saints,
the original Louisiana Hat sauce is the perfect balance of
Pepper's vinegar and salt wings, nachos burgers had any tailgate
food with the bold, handcrafted flavor of the original Louisian
high Suisiana Hat.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
Buy you some. Up next, it's do You Care right
here on FSR Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (36:08):
Coming up top of next hour a little over ten
minutes from now, We're going to tell you about, well,
a team in the NFL that is admitting a nether
huge mistake from a personnel standpoint, but they've earned the
benefit of the doubt. We'll get into that for you again.
(36:29):
Coming up a little over ten minutes from now. You
can find this show on x at the Jonas Knox Show.
You can also send us out I mean listen, if
you want to send us insulting tweets, that's where those
are going to be discussed here on this show. We're
also going to put those on our Instagram as well too,
at Jonas Knox Shows, where you can find all that
fun stuff. But right now, it is time for a
(36:49):
weekly tradition we do on the show called this.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of time.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
DMS your reports. Let's get kinky.
Speaker 4 (37:01):
Here's some of the big stories from the last week.
But Jonas, the real question is do you care?
Speaker 3 (37:08):
And for that we turn it over to our executive producer,
Bo Benson to find out what the hell people have
been talking about all week.
Speaker 8 (37:13):
Bo Bears head coach Ben Johnson told assembled media that
when he played Madden when he was younger, he loved
to take bad franchises and build them back up again, Jonas,
do you care?
Speaker 2 (37:26):
Not?
Speaker 3 (37:26):
Really, I'll be out Like the last time I played Madden,
I think it was when Dante Colepepper was on the cover.
I want to say that was two thousand and three,
I think was the last time I played Madden.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
I just, I mean, I kind of get it, but
I don't.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
Like I would rather throw an actual football with my
son than play a video game.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
I don't know. And I would rather watch.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
Actual football than partake in a video game. And look,
I've always been horrible at video games.
Speaker 1 (37:59):
It's never been my thing. I've never been good at it.
So I just it doesn't.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
Really rev my engine getting into this stuff. You want
to go to an arcade and you want to, you know,
mess around for a few bucks and something like. But
I just some like, I know people that literally play video.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
Games for hours. I can't do it. I don't have
the patience for it.
Speaker 8 (38:18):
Next, Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy said that he feels like
the quirk is about to come off the bottle in
terms of his play in the NFL. Jonas do you care?
Speaker 1 (38:30):
No, really?
Speaker 3 (38:30):
Man, Like I've heard so much, whether it's his Moniker nine,
whether like I've heard so much about JJ McCarthy and
it's man, you know, he's getting close. He's getting close, dude,
Like did anybody watch that game against the Bear. It's
not like the Bears have a great defense. Did anybody
watch that game against the Bears? Like we can sit
(38:52):
here and say, well, game winning field goal. That game
wasn't close. JJ McCarthy didn't play well, like it's gonna
take some time. But it's almost like everyone's like, well,
then maybe the next game, and maybe the next game.
He started like five games, like it's going to take
some time to see what you actually have in JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 8 (39:10):
Next broadcaster, Al Michaels, hopes to return to the Thursday
Night Football Booth in twenty twenty six. Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 1 (39:17):
Yeah? I do care.
Speaker 3 (39:19):
I just love it here when you listen to Al Michaels,
and I know people like, well, he's not enthusiast. Al
Michaels is the same broadcaster he was thirty years ago.
He hasn't lost a step, So don't go anywhere, like,
let al Michaels continue on for as long as he
wants to continue on.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
I think he's great.
Speaker 3 (39:39):
If he starts to show signs of some slippage, which
is always sad when it comes to a broadcaster.
Speaker 1 (39:44):
I get it. But al Michaels Is much like Vin Scully,
even towards the end, still had their fastball.
Speaker 8 (39:49):
Next, Clipper's point guard Chris Paul formally announced his retirement
today at the conclusion of this NBA season. Jonas, do
you care?
Speaker 1 (39:58):
No, I don't care about this. I don't care.
Speaker 3 (40:00):
I'm sorry, Like, I mean, it's been a great career.
He's going to be a Hall of Famer. I like,
what are we doing?
Speaker 1 (40:08):
Like there's so like, there's so many other things going on.
I get it.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
It's not the greatest play of games in college football today.
I get it, But like, does anybody really I mean, like,
why why is this out now?
Speaker 1 (40:20):
Why are we discussing it now? Like?
Speaker 3 (40:22):
Can we just like make them make the announcement after
the year? I just I don't understand.
Speaker 8 (40:26):
Next, well, speaking of Travis Kelcey is going to decide
on his future at the conclusion of the Chief season
this year. Jonas, do you care about this one?
Speaker 1 (40:35):
See previous statement? Like what do we do? Okay, if
these guys are going to retire, they'll announce it. Whatever.
We don't need the victory laps. Enough's enough.
Speaker 8 (40:44):
Next Stranger Things returns for its fifth and final season
starting this week, Jonas, do you care about these thirty
year old high schoolers?
Speaker 1 (40:51):
I do. I'll be honest. I love it.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
This is the one thing I'm looking forward to, all right,
because I actually like Stranger Things. I think it's a
great series. And the fact that you're going to roll
out guys in their fifties and say they're going to
high school is a feel good story for everybody who
still thinks they're young. You know, somebody in the NFL
has actually earned the benefit of the doubt. Another big mistake,
(41:13):
a swing and a miss, if you will, but they've
earned the right to get their benefit of the doubt.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
We'll get into that for you coming.
Speaker 3 (41:21):
Up here in just a couple of moments from now,
Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (41:25):
You can listen to this show as always.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
On the iHeartRadio app and you can find us on
hundreds of affiliates all across the country no matter where
you are. We appreciate you making us a part of
your Saturday here on this two hour extravaganza all sorts
of NFL college football. We will keep you updated if
there's any upsets or anything of interest that takes place, which,
(41:47):
by the way, Minnesota Northwestern at Wrigley Field, thirty five,
thirty five, thirty five, All was six and a half
left to go at Wrigley Field, and I would I
would say this, you know, I mean, it's good to
see that Wrigley Field is getting some.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
Use this late in the year. I'll just say that,
you know.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
Just you know, I mean, you know, like you won't
see November games baseball wise there unless for whatever reason,
you know, there's an issue elsewhere they've got to play
a game nearby, Like you won't. I mean, you won't
see November baseball games there. But it's good to see
we've gotten back to back college football games and they've
been good games, actual good games. Theret Wrigley Field, so
(42:32):
I mean, the whole.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
Setup's a little wonky and it still looks strange, but
it's good to see that place get a little bit
of love this late in the year because it normally.
Speaker 3 (42:41):
Doesn't during baseball season. I'm just pointing that out, all right.
With that being said, we opened up the show talking
about just the unrealistic thought from a team in the NFL, right,
and the reason that there's an unrealistic thought from this
team in the NFL is because they haven't earned the
benefit of the doubt. You've got to earn that, all right,
(43:03):
we as media, we as fans, like, you've got to
earn some trust.
Speaker 1 (43:09):
The Cincinnati Bengals have not earned any trust at all.
Speaker 3 (43:14):
Because the Bengals announced earlier that Joe Flack or Joe
Burrow's not going to be back in action coming up
tomorrow against the Patriots. That the plan is the Bengals
are going to wait and then they're going to roll
them out there on Thanksgiving and he's going to be
It's like okay, like, oh that's awesome, man, Like Joe
Burrow's going to be back on Thanksgiving, Like that was
a timeline they said when he went down with.
Speaker 1 (43:35):
The injury for starters. And then you know, Joe.
Speaker 3 (43:38):
Flacco's come in. I don't know if anybody's noticed, He's
played pretty well. Like, but my whole issue with this
is Bengals fans and people that cover the NFL like
still try and push this thing as if it's like
a real possibility that the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (43:54):
Are going to make a run at this, like it's
a real possibility. It's like, oh, they got all these
division games It's like, dude, if they lose tomorrow, and
they probably will, they're gonna be three games back with
six to go, with the worst defense on the planet.
Speaker 3 (44:10):
That's the problem. Like Joe Burrow not being in the
lineup hasn't been the issue. That's not a knock on
Joe Burrow. That's more of a credit to Joe Flacco,
a credit to Zach Taylor if you will. But they
really haven't lost that much. If anything going to Joe Flacco,
(44:31):
he's not the problem.
Speaker 1 (44:34):
The offense isn't the issue. Their defense is abysmal. And
so if you were to tell somebody like take the
Bengals out of this, if you were to say, hey,
you're three games back with six to go and you've
got the worst defense in the league, how you feeling.
(44:56):
Anybody withold have a brain would say not great. But
for some reason with the Bengals and Bengals fail, like
people are like, oh no, this could really happen. And
I made the point earlier.
Speaker 3 (45:07):
You realize if the Bengals lose tomorrow and the Browns win,
they're tied.
Speaker 1 (45:15):
Nobody's talking about Cleveland making a run, nobody, nobody's talking
about the brawlby. You don't tell you them the Brown's
got a fighting chance. No, they don't. And their defense
is one of the better defenses in the league. The
Bengals defense is awful. It's going to be the reason
they don't make the playoffs. It has nothing to do
with the offense, got nothing to do with Joe Burrow.
(45:37):
It's got nothing to do with Joe Flacco. That defense
has been a diaper fire for weeks. Trey Hendrickson's gonna
miss some more time. What a shock. They've been a
diaper fire for weeks. I said it the loss of
the Jets, the loss of the Bears. That was it.
(46:00):
Your hopes died. Then it's over.
Speaker 3 (46:06):
And yet for some reason they've got this dead animal
on their wall that they're like, no, he's be like
like it's almost like he's here. No, your dog died.
Got to move on. Their season died, got to move on.
You do not get the benefit of the doubt based
on the way the defense is played all year.
Speaker 1 (46:24):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (46:25):
You know who does get the benefit of the doubt though,
good teams and they don't even have to be good
this year. Just like well run organizations, they get the
benefit of the doubt. You know that team is the
San Francisco forty nine ers. All right, let me tell
you why, because I don't believe that the San Francisco
forty nine ers are a Super Bowl contender at all,
(46:45):
whatsoe like not a chance. But the forty nine ers
get the benefit of the doubt because they can overcome
awful decisions, like awful decisions. So the whole Trey Lance thing,
eh eah, didn't really work.
Speaker 1 (47:08):
They traded away three first round picks, they move up
to take.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
Trey Lance, and he never really got an opportunity. In
fairness to Trey Lance, he got like a couple of starts.
You know, he was banged up. One was in a monsoon,
a literal monsoon in Chicago, and it's like then he
got injured and then but you know, Rock Purty stepped up.
He was the last pick of the draft. You've seen
(47:36):
what's happened there. Jimmy Garoppolo's won. Like the forty nine
ers are such a well run organization that they get
the benefit of the doubt. And we don't even talk
about that, like that's one of the worst moves we've seen,
Like one of the worst moves we've seen, and again
I don't think Trey Lance necessarily got a fair shot.
(47:57):
But the reality is, you gave up all that draft
capital to move up and you took a guy and
look what happened. But the forty nine ers get the
benefit of the doubt because they were able to still find.
Speaker 1 (48:10):
The guy with the last pick of the draft, and
they were able to develop him and win games and
go to a super Bowl. And if we're being honest here,
probably should have won that super Bowl with him, much
like they probably should have won the Super Bowl Jimmy
Garoppolo when they played the Chiefs. They've earned the benefit
of the doubt. They make a bad move, they're so
(48:31):
well run that they've earned the benefit of the doubt. Well,
we're going down that road again. Brandon Ayuk, he has
not played in a long time now. He's been dealing
with the injury to his knee and all that, and
it's you know, but according to Diana Rossini and Michael Silver,
(48:53):
the Niners and Brandon Ayuk are headed for a divorce.
Their reports that Ayuk has likely played his final game
for the franchise. Despite overtures and repeated overtures from team
officials and even players to try and bring Ayuke back
into the fold. So he suffered the knee injury last October.
(49:19):
He was expected to be back, but apparently he's been
absent from numerous meetings and other team activities throughout the season,
leading to the Niners voiding his twenty twenty six guarantees,
which are more.
Speaker 3 (49:33):
Than twenty five million dollars. He just signed the four
year deal a little over a year ago and it's
over gone done. That's an awful move. That's a terrible
signing and a terrible and listen, there were some people
(49:55):
who questioned it at the time. Remember when Brandon Ayuk
was out in practice and like Kyle Shanahan was getting
on him because he wore like a pair of shorts
that he wasn't supposed to wear and he didn't want
to change, and then he had to change on the field.
Like there was weird stuff going on then, and they
still give him a deal, Like, they still gave him
(50:18):
a contract, And he suffered the injury in October, a
few weeks into the season, and as it turns out,
that's the last year're going to see of him. Like
you want to talk about a relationship that has not
gone well. The guy just got twenty five million dollars
in guarantees voided for next year because he just didn't
(50:42):
want to show up to meetings and didn't want to
do this and didn't want to do that. That's a
terrible move, much like giving up all that draft capital
to get Trey Lance and then seeing what happened. That
was a terrible move. But the difference between the Niners
and bad teams in the NFL. They'll be fine, like,
there's no concerns.
Speaker 1 (51:02):
They'll be fine. We're good like there are other teams,
Like other teams around the league could make moves like that,
and he'd be like, oh, boy this whoa oh, I
don't know about the Oh this is gonna be boy,
this is gonna be a real issue. No, they're fine,
all right. It's like the Steelers. They the Steelers got
(51:26):
rid of a really good wide receiver. Man, how are
they gonna how are they gonna battle back? They're fine,
They'll be okay. You have no questions, like, no concerns,
no worries. The Niners have made bad decisions and bad moves,
but they're so well run and you have such trust
(51:48):
in them, and they've earned the benefit of the doubt
that you're like, oh, yeah, you're okay. There's so many
teams around the league. If you were to say, fill
in the blank, team signed a wide receiver to a
four year, one hundred and twenty million dollars deal. He
blows his knee out a few weeks later and never
plays again, and they've got to avoid twenty five million
(52:10):
dollars in contract for the next year because he's probably
played his last game because he's not shown up to
team meetings, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. That would
be if that was in New York, if that was
the Giants, if that was the Jets, there'd be a
feeding frenzy. The Niners, yeah, whatever, they'll be all right.
But that's the difference. You earn the benefit of the doubt.
(52:30):
The Niners have earned that because they've proven that they've
earned it. The Bengals defense has not earned it, and
that's why their season's over. And that's why the Niners,
even despite this, are still in playoff contention.
Speaker 3 (52:44):
At the Jonas Knocks on x at Jonas Knox Shaw
on Instagram is where you can find us. As we
take you all the way up until the end of
this hour four pm Eastern time, one o'clock Pacific. He
can hang out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app,
and you can find us on hundreds of affiliates all
across the country. Now, coming up next, though, we are
going to talk about a mistake that was made, all right,
(53:05):
a mistake that was made in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (53:09):
They don't make a lot of these, but they made
this one. And that's yours right here on FSR. All right.
First off, Jonas Knox can suck it.
Speaker 3 (53:19):
Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio. We're gonna get to this
mistake that was made in the NFL. I mean, look,
I get the idea, I get the thought, but it
was a mistake. I'll explain coming up here. Just a
couple of moments from now, JC tweets into the show,
(53:45):
why the f are you still on FSR? The Jonas
Knox Show needs to be canceled. You are an ass
bleep in the wind. The two pros have carried your
sorry efing excuse for a human. I hear your voice
and it makes me want to take a massive bleep,
you gd bleep tard, Jason writes, in boardop bleep and bleep.
(54:14):
Jonas can't wait to throw out his hacky bleep Thanksgiving
topics like what are you most thankful for in sports?
Which five athletes would you invite over for your Thanksgiving dinner?
And what's your Thanksgiving draft order?
Speaker 1 (54:28):
You unoriginal bleep and f boy, Well, way to.
Speaker 3 (54:35):
Ruin the Thanksgiving show. But it's called a tease for
a reason. Rob writes in Joni wants to really blame.
Speaker 1 (54:50):
Boy. This is gonna be a tough one.
Speaker 3 (54:52):
Joni wants to really blank his blank, his mini blank
to your other beefcake boy toy, Joey Burrow, you bleep
gobbling bleep bleep, have fun bleeping your man bleep like
the power bleep bleep you've always been.
Speaker 1 (55:16):
At the Jonas Knox on X you can see, by
the way, all the bleeps that we couldn't say on
the air at Jonas Knox Show on Instagram. At Jonas
knock Show on Instagram is where.
Speaker 3 (55:29):
You can find all of that fun stuff here, So
take a look for yourself again. At Jonas Knockshow on
Instagram is where.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
You can find that.
Speaker 3 (55:36):

Speaker 1 (55:52):
At the top of your screen.
Speaker 3 (55:54):
So I would like to point out a mistake that
has been made, and I can understand the logic. In
a normal year, I think we can all agree that
the Bills and the previously mentioned Bengals.
Speaker 1 (56:15):
A little bit of a down year for both right now.
Speaker 3 (56:18):
Look, I think the Bills are still going to be
a playoff team, but they're clearly not the team a
lot of people thought they were. And this isn't just
a you know, instant reaction to what we saw on
Thursday night. I think you would agree, and watching the
Bills all season long, it's not exactly the Bills that
they were a year ago. Like they've kind of fallen
(56:41):
down the ranks of teams you look at and go
super Bowl teams, super Bowl They've they've got problems and
the Bengals, as we've talked about, they've got problems the defense.
Joe Burrow has been injured like all that stuff, But
still it's Josh Allen and it's Joe Burrow, Like I mean,
that's still exists. And the reason why I bring up
Joe Burrow, who is going to be back on Thanksgiving.
(57:06):
The league decided to start flexing some games in their schedule,
and so they move the start of the Bears Packers
game in Week fourteen to four to twenty five Eastern Time.
It was originally slated to start at one pm Eastern Time.
So they moved the Bears Packers game to the late window,
(57:30):
and they move the Bills Bengals game up to the
early window. Now, if you look at that in any
normal situation, you would say, oh, yeah, that makes sense.
The Cincinnati is probably not going to the playoffs. Buffalo's
a little down, but they're a playoff team. But you know,
(57:52):
the Bears are leading their division, the Packers are still
in contention.
Speaker 1 (57:56):
It's a great rivalry. I get it. It's still a mistake.
And here's why it's still about stars. As much as
people want to say that it's you know, it's not.
This isn't the NBA. No, like it is, and.
Speaker 3 (58:15):
Two of the biggest stars in the NFL are Joe
Burrow and Joe Flacco, or excuse me, Joe Burrow and
Josh Allen. So if that's the case, and you know
that Burrow's coming back and you're making this announcement and
you're flexing stuff around, to me, you missed an opportunity
in the late window to have two stars featured and
(58:37):
instead went the route of Bears Packers rivalry. And I
love the fact that they're respecting the rivalry and it's
one of the great traditions and great rivalries in all
of sports. And I totally get all that, and all
that is fair, But this is Josh Allen and Joe Burrow,
Like these are stars, Like these are two of the
best quarterbacks in the NFL. And even those Cincinnati's down
(59:01):
and maybe Buffalo's a little down, it's still a star
driven league.
Speaker 1 (59:05):
It's still about the quarterback. Like Caleb Williams, maybe he'll
be one of those guys he's not yet, Jordan Love,
maybe he'll be one of those guys. He's not yet.
Like you're basically choosing rivalry over star in this situation,
(59:25):
and I think it's a mistake, like I don't. I mean, look,
the Bears are leading the division, but I don't know
that anybody looks at the Bears and goes, oh, yeah,
they're gonna make some noise in the playoffs. Maybe they
get a game, Maybe they don't even make the playoffs.
They've got a difficult schedule down the stretch. They might
not even beat Pittsburgh tomorrow. They're down three linebackers. They're
banged up on that side of the ball. Offensively, it's
(59:48):
been inconsistent at times. Then the Packers, who the hell knows.
Speaker 3 (59:54):
Like one week they beat the Steelers on Sunday Night football.
In the next two games they look awful. I mean,
they beat the Giants last week, but even that one
got dicey. So it's almost like they took the same
approach that they would normally do in previous years, where
they say, well, you know which two games are you
(01:00:14):
know what, let's take a look at two games. Well,
one team has got a losing record and they're playing
another team that maybe is a little bit down from
last year.
Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
Let's take the two teams with winning records, and then
we're going to roll with them.
Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
It's like you didn't even factor in who the quarterbacks
were for Buffalo and Cincinnati, Like that's kind of a
big deal.
Speaker 1 (01:00:33):
Like it is about star power in the league. I
know that. Listen, we love football. We'll watch anything.
Speaker 3 (01:00:39):
I've seen some people complain that Carolina and San Francisco
is the Monday night game. It it's like, dude, it's football,
Like it beats anything else. Like the Raiders Broncos game
on Thursday night a couple weeks back was atrocious, Like
that was terrible football, but it beats anything else. Jets Broncos,
(01:01:04):
the game in Germany or London or one of these
overseas games, whichever placed it was at, Like that game
was one of the worst games I've ever seen in
my life, justin fields through for like seven yards.
Speaker 1 (01:01:15):
But still it's football.
Speaker 3 (01:01:18):
So it's not so much a knock on the Bears
and the Packers because either way you're gonna watch it.
But still it's about star power. And you've got Joe
Burrow and you've got Josh Allen and they chose rivalry
over that, and I think it was a mistake. At
the Jonas Knocks on x at Jonas Knock Show on Instagram.
Coming up next here We're going to talk about one
(01:01:40):
player in the NFL who has no chance.
Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
This weekend, literally no chance. It's over. We'll get into
that for you right here on FSR.
Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
But for all the latest from around the world of sports,
ladies and gentlemen, make some noise for the man himself.
He sits high a top, the throne of sports talk radio.
He is a professional broadcaster through and through, and if
you're not careful, he'll accuse your dog of doing cocaine.
Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
He's the one and only Sir Isaac longacross. All that
is literally true, and unfortunately Jonas will begin with a
rather disturbing breaking story out of college football. To University
of Alabama Birmingham players are in stable condition at a
hospital with non life threatening injuries after they were stabbed
(01:02:26):
by a teammate this morning at their football facility prior
to today's home game against South Florida. The suspect was
arrested against Both players are in stable condition at a hospital.
Names of the players involved have not been released. The
university said the team elected to go ahead with today's
game against South Florida, that they have done five point
(01:02:47):
fifteen left in the first quarter and UAB trails South
Florida seven to three. Number one Ohio State defeated Rutgers
forty two to nine. Right now eighth ranked Oklahoma. I'm
holding on to a seventeen to six lead over number
twenty two Missouri with one fifty two left to play
in the fourth quarter. Thirteenth ranked Miami up twenty seven
(01:03:09):
to seventeen at Virginia Tech with two oh six remaining
of the fourth quarter. NFL, the Bengals did not activate
Joe Burrow today. That means Joe Flacca will start a
quarterback tomorrow against the Patriots. The Colts today activated cornerback
Charvarius Ward from injured reserve. Rams linebacker Nate Lambman's agreed
to a three year, twenty two million dollar extension in
(01:03:30):
the NBA. Twelve time All Star point guard Chris Paul
will reportedly retire after the season. Finally, just want to
lighten things up a little bit in light of what
we talked about a few moments ago in Golf Jonas,
we have a nine year old John Daly invents a
cocktail update. It was a kidding, yeah. It was revealed
(01:03:51):
on a podcast this week that when former US Open
champion John Daly was nine years old. His team won
the the Dardanel Arkansas Little League Championship, and Daily invited
his teammates over to his house to celebrate. His parents
were not home, so the then nine year old John
(01:04:12):
Daily took his mom's picture of sun brewed iced tea,
dumped an entire bottle of his dad's favorite vodka into it,
topped it with a splash of lemonade for him and
his nine year old teammates to partake in. And that
is how the John Daily was created. Kids, Please do
(01:04:33):
not try this at home. Wait, okay, hold on, what's
the so what is the recipe there? It's iced tea?
His no, not just iced tea, all right, a picture
of his mom's sun brewed iced tea. Okay, Then he
quote dumped an entire bottle of his dad's favorite vodka
(01:04:55):
into it. And what I was actually most impressed with
for a per cocious youngster, just to tweak the flavor
to his liking, topped it with quote a splash of lemonade. Unquote. Well, okay,
I don't know how you feel about iced tea, but
there's not a whole lot of flavor in it, like
and and it's ice teas one of the Like, I've
(01:05:16):
never been a big fan of ice tea because there's
not a whole lot of flavor. And that's why the
Arnold Palmer was created. Yeah, and so like I get
the lemonade because you want to add a little something
to it. And also, do you like sweet tea? You
ever had sweet tea before? They they they that's a
big thing over what raisin canes.
Speaker 3 (01:05:35):
Not really, it's just like it's way too much show
it just yeahs too much.
Speaker 1 (01:05:39):
Yeah, I'm not into that. It's way too much sugar.
But how about that. Listen nine years old and they're
just sipping and ripping, you know, just hanging out. What
was the first time you drank? Isaac?
Speaker 3 (01:05:49):
Who was the first alcoholic beverage you had?
Speaker 1 (01:05:53):
Don't embarrass me like this. I was a late bloomer
when it came to alcohol consumption and I tried it.
I'm like, that's all there is.
Speaker 3 (01:06:05):
Yeah, you would you do like a beer bong for
your for your twelve thirty something?
Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
Like? You know what? An expert on this subject is
actually my my wife. By the way, listeners might be
familiar with my wife. Lone Crown can't close his effing mouth. Yeah,
so she's she's your go to person for Isaac loh
and kron drinking stories or lack therapy. I think buried
in the lead. It's kind of you know, I don't
want to pry into people's lives, Jonas, but I kind
(01:06:31):
of feel sad that, you know, his team wins the
Dard and Nell Arkansas Little League championship and his parents
aren't there to watch the championship game. I mean, well,
it's none of my business, but nobody cares about that.
When's the first time you had a drink and alcoholic
beverage If you haven't had one, it would like that's
that's fine too. No, it was like in my it
was like in my thirties, and I'm like, it was
it was a glass of a glass, it's a glass
(01:06:53):
of wine, and I'm like, that's all there is. Ironically,
I also did not start drinking coffee until my thirties,
but it was the opposite.
Speaker 3 (01:06:59):
I'm like, to addicted to coffee. Yeah, well, look, I
mean I didn't have you know, it's funny you say that.
I was like, I never I was never into coffee,
and my parents would drink black coffee that was all
they had.
Speaker 1 (01:07:13):
Yeah, there would be nothing in it, you may. I
had a sip of it one time. I was like,
that's disgusting, and that's all I drink now. Yeah, if
you make it the right way, which you can at home,
it actually tastes really good if you make it the
right way, not some of this swill you get externally. Yeah,
because I used to do like I would have a
coffee and I would put like a Splenda or two
(01:07:36):
Splenda packets inside, and then I started looking into a
Splenda and I was like, yeah, probably not great. Yeah,
and then I just decided, you know, let me just
try black coffee. Mom and dad did it for years.
Why didn't I just give it a whirl? And I
didn't drink because my thing would.
Speaker 3 (01:07:47):
I would drink like a diet coke or a diet
PEPSI to wake up when it was like early twenties.
And then all of a sudden, it was cold out
one day and I had a coffee and I thought,
you know what, there is something to that, so yeah,
really good. And then black coffee, you know, it's like
there's none of that sugar and that crap inside of it.
You don't have to worry about like a latte and
(01:08:08):
all that crap.
Speaker 1 (01:08:09):
Just give me a black coffee with a shot of
espresso inside of it. You know, really up the anne here,
But hey, there's nothing wrong with that. You didn't drink.
Speaker 3 (01:08:16):
Hey, I'd rather you tell me you didn't have your
first drink until you were thirty five, then you tell me, Oh, well,
growing up, you know, Pop used to put seagrum in
the scope bottle under the sink.
Speaker 1 (01:08:24):
Maybe I would have if our little league team had
been any good. Yeah, the real drinker in the family
is my wife, although she had retired from that went.
Although she did have a slip up. We were at
a wedding and she drank, and she she like threw
threw a hand sanitizer into my eyes, and then she
threw a coat hanger into some random person's hotel room
in a hallway. I was actually quite turned on by
(01:08:46):
all that. By the way, Wait, wait what you heard me?
Wait so some wait your uh, your wife was bending
the elbow a bit too much and threw purel in
your eyes. Oh there was a coat hanger at somebody.
Oh she had retired by the time we'd met. But
you know, She played in the drinking equivalent of some
old timers games twice, and it's both before we had kids,
(01:09:07):
and once was it a wedding. So yes, she threw
hand sanitizer into my eyes. And then moments later we
were going down a corridor in a hotel and she
threw a close hangar into a random person's room with
the door open. Like I said, I was angry or
being angry or being goofy and having fun. Uh, yeah,
it was. It was. It was more on the being
(01:09:28):
goofy and having fun. Yeah and yeah, and again. I
was surprisingly turned on by the whole deal after my
eyes stopped burning. You know, hey, hang whatever revs your engine? Yeah,
hang on, hang on, she's chiming in again. Long Crawn
can't close his effing mouth. All right. You know, Isaac,
(01:09:50):
we've learned a lot about you today. We have learned
a lot about Isaac Low and Crown today. Yeah. I
can't wait. I can't wait to see my mentions from
your legions of fans. Worry about that. They're fine, Okay, I've survived,
by the way, be Okay. There's a lot of insider
radio knowledge because they keep referring to you as a
board op, which is more industry lingo than widespread.
Speaker 3 (01:10:11):
It's also disrespectful. I don't think it's disrespectful tech producer,
technical producer.
Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
Board Off was a Google engineer, engineer, That's what I said.
It's like calling somebody a well, you're just a janitor.
I know you're a custodian, damn right, and I've been
a custodian before. I know that world multiple times. You're
the custodian of Fox Sports radios. Two pros and a
cup of Joe.
Speaker 3 (01:10:33):
The first job I ever had when I was in school,
I was a custodian at an elementary school. After school,
my mom would drop me off there and I would
be Uh, I would do uh, janitorial work like three
days a.
Speaker 1 (01:10:44):
Week, honest, hard day's work. Baby. Yeah. Respect Yeah, need
of money so I could buy some hockey equipment that
I never used. I didn't know that. I didn't know
you're into hockey. Yeah I was back in the day,
but you know, it is what it is. I decided
for the more lucrative route of radio, so well, uh,
we'll just roll with that. There he is the great
Isaac long Cron And as you've learned, don't piss the
(01:11:07):
misses off, all right, So coming up, we are going
to have another edition of Knox Locks here in about
ten minutes from now. By the way, the original Louisiana
Hot Sauce is the perfect balance of Pepper's vinegar and salt, wings, nachos,
burgers at any tailgate food with the bold, handcrafted flavor
of the original Louisiana Hot Sauce. That's Louisiana Hot. Buy
you some.
Speaker 3 (01:11:25):
So should Or Sanders is getting his first career Starne
And if you heard of shoud Or Sanders, He's taken
in the fifth round of this most recent NFL draft.
He's going to get his first career starting against the Raiders.
I just want to let everybody know he's got no chance,
literally no chance that gets over for should Or Sanders.
It's like this has been like it's been fun, it's
(01:11:45):
been real. Like those waters were polluted with the discussion
surrounding should Or Sanders this offseason.
Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
That's a wrap.
Speaker 3 (01:11:56):
He's got no chance because if should Or Sanders goes
out and plays poorly against the Raiders, he's gonna get
chewed up and spit out like that will be one
of the leads. I promise you, Monday morning, whatever sports
television show you go to turn on, like one of
the leads Monday morning, in one of the first couple
(01:12:16):
of segments is going to be shit. Or Sanders, I
can promise you. He's a fifth round draft pick. He's
a third string quarterback who's having to play because the
starter is injured and the other starter got traded. Nowhere
else in the NFL would that even be a conversation
(01:12:39):
the following day nowhere else? But this is different, and
this was polluted, and this was set in motion this offseason.
He's got no chance. Much like arch Manning had no
chance based on the expectations of him going into this year.
He had no chance either.
Speaker 1 (01:12:59):
He also had no chance.
Speaker 3 (01:13:01):
So you've got should Or Sanders, who's getting his first
career start as a fifth rounder.
Speaker 1 (01:13:07):
In Las Vegas against the Raiders. If he plays well,
it's going to be an overreaction. If he plays poorly
or struggles, it's going to be an overreaction. The reality
is there shouldn't be a reaction at all other than
oh whatever, I mean, one start, fifth round pick against
the Raiders on the road is what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:13:29):
But this is the issue, and you knew that this
was where this was headed this offseason based on the
coverage of it. So, for right or for wrong, should
or Sanders is getting a start against the Raiders, and
whatever coverage he's going to get following that game will
either be too far in one direction or too far
(01:13:50):
in the other. He's got no chance. Tomorrow at the
Jonas Knocks on x at Jonas Knock Show on Instagram
and you can hang out with us as always on
the iHeartRadio app. Coming up next though, we are going
to close up shop with the week twelve edition of
Knox Locks, and it's yours right here on FSR Jonas
Knox Fox Sports Radio. By the way, make sure you
stick around. Coming up top next hour a little over
(01:14:11):
ten minutes from now, it'll be Carmon to Vitally and
Tracy Sandler taking over these airwaves. They will have you
covered all things NFL college football, you name it. Carmen
and Tracy coming up here top of next hour. That's
a one o'clock Pacific time four pm Eastern.
Speaker 1 (01:14:27):
Time start for them.
Speaker 3 (01:14:29):

It's at the Jonas Knox on X. I'm going to
put a link to the podcast on the Instagram page
as well, also at Jonas Knox Show on Instagram. At
Jonas knock Show on Instagram. So you can see not
(01:15:13):
only the link to the podcast if you've missed any
of today's show up there in the IG stories, but
you're also going to be able to see all the
insulting tweets that have been sent into me throughout the
course of the show. Those are already up on the
IG stories. All the stuff I couldn't read on the air,
all of it will present it to you without any
edits all right. The vulgarity will shine through on the
(01:15:36):
ig stories at Jonas Knox Show, So that's where you can.
Speaker 1 (01:15:39):
Find all that fun stuff. But right now it's time
for this lock it. Let's lock it Knox lucks all right.
So let's get into last week, all right. Coming off
a one and two week, we needed a strong performance,
all right. This one was a little bit dicey.
Speaker 3 (01:15:57):
But if you remember the Buccaneers and the Bills, there
was a high scoring affair. It seemed like Tampa Bay
was gonna keep it close and inside the number, but
we had the Bills minus five and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:16:07):
We were able to come out on top of that game.
And then Buffalo a few days later took a crap
against the Houston Texans on Thursday Night.
Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
Football, But who cares about that. We didn't have money
on that game. We were focused on Bucks and Bills,
and Buffalo got it done as a five and a
half point favorite. I loved the Jacksonville Jaguars plus.
Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
Three at home against the LA Chargers. That was a
typical letdown performance by the Chargers. They were awful. Jacksonville
stepped on the gas and never let up. That was
a great performance from the Jags, maybe the best all year.
From Jacksonville. I liked the Jags plus three.
Speaker 3 (01:16:43):
They came out and won that game going away outright,
So we were two to zero and all we needed
was the Kansas City Chiefs as a three and a
half point favorite to go on the road and take
care of the Denver Broncos. I mean, I'm thinking Andy
Reid off of Bye all the blah blah blahah blah blah.
And as it turns out, no, Denver's defense is awesome.
(01:17:03):
Bo Nicks actually did outplay Patrick Mahomes at times in
that game.
Speaker 1 (01:17:07):
And unfortunately we were on the short end of that.
So last week two and one. It puts us at
eighteen and fifteen on the season, which brings us to
now Patriots and Bengals. All this shade that I've been
throwing at the Cincinnati Bengals all show long, based on
(01:17:28):
the announcement that Joe Flacco is going to be starting
and Joe Burrow is not yet ready to go coming
up tomorrow, and I'm still.
Speaker 3 (01:17:37):
Gonna take Cincinnati. They're getting eight points. It's at home.
Speaker 1 (01:17:40):
Look as I said throughout the course of the show,
and listen, I get at Jamar Chase. The guy's got
a spitting problem. He's like a camel. I get it.
Look is what it is, not my problem, not my business.
Here's what is my business. Offensively, I still trust they
can get it done. I know that New England's like
the team of the year, and everybody loves Mike Rabel
and company. And I do think New England's gonna win
(01:18:01):
this game. But I just need Cincinnati. If you're this
Cincinnati team that believes that you actually have a shot
at a playoff spot with the record you have at
as much time as you have left in the year,
you should be able to keep it within the number.
I like Cincinnati at home getting eight points cold sit Chiefs.
(01:18:22):
I'm going to go back to the well here. I'll
take the Kansas City Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
Look, I know Indianapolis has been one of the better
teams in the league, if not one of the best
teams on the planet all year long. But I'm going
to take Kansas City here. I think it's a bounce
back opportunity. The Chiefs realize. Travis Kelcey has said as
much this week. They got to go on a heater.
They've got to go on a heater or else they're
going to miss the playoffs and not for nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:18:47):
While I do believe in Super Bowl hangovers, and it
does look like this one exists, the one team that's
been able to avoid that is a team who's lost
a couple of times in the Super Bowl and been
able to bounce back and come back, and that's been
the Kansas City Chief.
Speaker 3 (01:19:00):
I think this is a statement game. I think they
rebound against the Indianapolis Colts. I like CAC minus three,
Buccaneers and Rams, I'm gonna go Tampa Bay. If you've
watched the Rams, you've seen them at times kind of
play with their food a little bit and you're like,
what's happening here? Like why is this going the way
(01:19:20):
that it's going? Like why was that game against Seattle
that close?
Speaker 1 (01:19:24):
Why?
Speaker 3 (01:19:25):
Because Sean McVay decided, do you know what, we're having
so much success picking up nine yards of carry with
Kyen Williams, we'll just start throwing the ball.
Speaker 1 (01:19:33):
The Rams have shown the ability to play.
Speaker 3 (01:19:36):
With their food and kind of arrogantly, if you will,
And I think because of that in this spot where
Tampa Bay is on a little bit of a skid
and needs to bounce back because they're at risk of
losing that division. I like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers getting
seven points on the road. I don't think they'll win,
