Speaker 1 (00:00):
I have to have better stop.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Jonas Knocks.
Speaker 3 (00:04):
You thought you knew me. You didn't know a thing
about me.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
He's crazier than air else wrapped that guy, Jonas Knocks,
you heard me. The bread in some darkness is lighting
up your speakers to establish an alibi for the day.
Now live from the Fox Sports Radio studios, here's Jonas Knox. YEP,
(00:27):
So okay, I'll be part of this world.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Starting to get a little desperate. They are starting to
get a little desperate. We've got the proof. We'll get
into that for you coming up here in just a
couple of moments from now, Jonas Knocks, Fox Sports Radio.
You can listen to this show as always on the
iHeartRadio app. You can find us on hundreds of affiliates
all across the country and wherever you are making us
(01:10):
a part of your Saturday morning into the afternoon. We
appreciate you doing so. We are going to take you
all the way up until four pm Eastern time, one
o'clock Pacific. It is the post fourth of July edition
here on FSR. And I'll give people credit. Like I
(01:31):
could admire an active defiance, I could admire somebody telling
you don't do this, don't do that, and still pushing
through because there's gonna be a lot of naysayers in
your life. There's gonna be a lot of people that
are gonna tell you can't accomplish something, you can't reach
your goals, you can't do this, you're not capable of that,
you're not built for this, you're not set up for
(01:51):
There's all sorts of people trying to tell you what
you can't do and what you shouldn't do right, And
we've got some brave individual who have decided, you know what,
despite all that, I'm still going to push through. I'm
gonna persevere. And those brave individuals are the people that
continue to suffer injuries trying to light off their own fireworks.
(02:13):
Congratulations everybody, Hey, congratulations, nice work, Nice work. They keep
telling you, hey, you keep that up. You're gonna walk
around with fingers like a ninja turtle for the rest
of your life. But no, you can't help yourselves. Can't
help it, cannot help it. It never fails. You go
(02:40):
on post fourth of July and TMZ's got footage of
all these fireworks accidents and explosions and all. It's like,
oh my God, what a tragedy. Correct also a bit
of a warning going into it, Like most of these
places fireworks aren't even legal. If people get a hold
(03:01):
of them, and they're like, you know what, why don't
we just go ahead and see what this does. Let's
tie them all together, let's light them all up at
the same time, or if you don't want to do that,
just put some in the general vicinity that might catch
on fire and also explode, and then just go from there.
Like part of me kind of admires it. I look
(03:22):
at it, I go, you know what, like all the
warning signs, everybody telling you you can't do this, you
shouldn't do that, this is a bad idea. I wouldn't
do that if I were you, and still just push
right on through, right on through. It's amazing. It's like
the people at the zoo, like, hey, whatever you do,
don't reach your hand inside the cage. Clear as day
(03:44):
could not be anymore clear. Do not reach your hand
inside the cage. And all of a sudden, everybody goes
into a panic because for some reason, a tiger or
an orangutang or something gets a hold of somebody and
just starts ripping flesh from their body. But still, while
you focus on the tragedy, I look at it and
I go, yeah, but you know what, how about the
(04:06):
fact that that rocket scientist decided, Hey, forget all the warnings.
I'm gonna go ahead and go rogue here. Let me
figure this whole thing out of my own I know
better than you. Yeah, good move. Every year never failed.
It's amazing. Are you thinking not enough? We've had enough
(04:28):
people have learned that. No, absolutely not. Just go Google.
Just do yourself a favor. Go to X or Google
or grock and just type in most recent fireworks accidents.
Oh my god, page upon page upon page. It's brilliant.
So congratulations your active defiance. Hope it was worth it.
(04:49):
I hope it was worth it. I hope it was
worth walking around whatever it is you call that hanging
off the end of your wrist for the rest of
your life. I hope. I hope. Hey, dude, you gotta
do Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio. All right, So
I did see something that came out yesterday while you
guys were busy blowing off limbs, trying to set off
(05:13):
Piccolo Pete's and Roman candles in the driveway of some neighbor,
you don't like I did see this. So Lebron James
a picture of him was posted of him working out
at the Calves training facility, and so some people started
speculating and all that stuff, and Lebron simply responded with
(05:35):
something along the lines of, man, I train here every summer.
Are you guys all really that bored? Go get another
plate of food. Now, Lebron is guilty of wanting attention,
constantly stirring it up, constantly, needing to be the center
of attention. We all know that. We can all agree
(05:55):
on that, even people who love Lebron, you'd have to
agree on that. Here's what else I would say about this.
This right here is NBA coverage at a desperate rate,
at a desperate state, and at a desperate level. Because
the NBA coverage is starting to figure out that the
(06:19):
end is near for Lebron James. And once he's gone,
what are you going to talk about? Really? What are
you going to talk about? Jonas Valentiunis or whatever his
name is, wanting to go play in Finland or somewhere like, ooh,
I'd rather go to what is there?
Speaker 4 (06:42):
This is?
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Like people always say, oh, Lebron, this Lebron, that there's
more of the NBA in Lebron. There's more of the
NBA than Lebron's team. Okay, let's talk about him. You
go first, Hey, Chet Holmgren had a cheeseburger sweet? Anybody else? Mmmm? No? Okay,
(07:08):
there's there is nothing else. And I think people in
the NBA, and you could look, Lebron is guilty of
all sorts of stuff, and you could find fault in
a lot of the way he handles himself and the
way he handles the media and the attention he needs
and all of this stuff and the moving around and
you know, the vague comments and you know, allegedly reading
(07:30):
just the first page of a book just to make
it look like he is reading like all that. Like
whatever you want to say, that's fine, that's fine. But
there is this thing that people have sort of banked
on and leaned on and depended on, and it's him.
(07:50):
And once that's gone, and it's sooner rather than later,
and it could be after this year, who knows, it
could be this summer. Once that happens, what do you got.
You have milked that so dry that nothing else has
(08:11):
been fed or watered. Nothing else has been looked after, nothing, nothing.
And so if you like basketball and you just want
to watch good basketball, this recent NBA Finals was great.
I enjoyed it. Great series, a couple of teams that
(08:32):
don't really have like a marquee star even though they're
trying to push it on you and try and force
it onto other I was. I liked it.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
It was fun.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
In fact, you had some good series, exciting finishes. I
thought it was fun Like this NBA Playoffs. I thought
it was fun. But then you start looking at the
ratings and all that, and you start looking say, oh
my god, the numbers are down. What do we do here?
What do we Well, you handle this like you should
have handled it years ago. How about you like try
and push somebody other than just one guy? How about that?
(09:02):
How about that? But the NBA is so top have
you with its coverage that if it's not Lebron And
if you think I'm crazy, if you think this is
just made up straw man, fake think so do this
put on any daytime sports TV, debate show or whatever
(09:23):
you want to call it. Put it on. And when
an NBA topic comes up on the screen, don't even
listen to the sound is it or is it not?
Ninety percent of the time about Lebron James or something
in relation to Lebron James. That's a fact. Look at
the chirons, which are the little boxes that have the graphics,
(09:46):
and ask how many of those hypothetical questions are about
anybody other than Lebron James in the NBA. Out of
one hundred, what will you say, five? Ten? Maybe the
coverage of the league is entirely about one guy. He's
(10:08):
working out at a place he lives at in the
off season. People start running with it, and he's saying, dude,
I'm here every off season, Go get another plate of food.
In this sense, in this sense, he's right. Is he
part of this? Is he part of the problem? Did
he cause a lot of this? Yes, he's guilty of
that as well too. But I think people in the
(10:31):
NBA who cover the NBA, people who who love to
discuss NBA, who love to discuss, you know, all the
because they think it's a bigger deal than it actually.
I think people are starting to come to the realization that,
hey man, this old thing's winding down pretty quick.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
Here.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
We uh might have a little bit of an issue.
It's like somebody who has a shoe box full of
cash under their bed, and every time they want to
pay for something, they just reach in and grab a
few more, and grab a few more, and they grab
a few more. Hey, ice creamman's down the street. Hey,
buy everybody on the block something. See they grab a
few more, Grab a few Hey making a beer run,
(11:08):
no problem, grab a few more, Grab a few more. Hey,
uber eatsa anybody want anything? Nah, just go to the
drive through. Here's a few more. And then you reach
in there and all of a sudden you realize, oh god,
there's one left.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Oh, probably should have maybe invested in some other things
instead of just grabbing and going. And that's all people
have been doing about the NBA with Lebron just grabbing
whatever headline they could, and soon, very soon, he ain't
gonna be there anymore. So you better get used to
(11:40):
the reality of we gotta start pushing something else, or
maybe looking at somebody else's tweets or workout videos to
try and pull some headlines, because this whole thing is
running dry quick. At the Jonas Knocks on X, at
the Jonas Knocks On X, and you can hang out
with us as always on the iHeartRadio app. So we

over throughout the course of the show at Jonas Knox

team in the NFL definitely isn't going to do. Find
out who it is next.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. Coming up, we'll call it
a little over ten minutes from now. Something during the
Fourth of July festivities occurred to me, something that I've
actually never done, kind of surprising, yet many people in sports,
(13:41):
including yourself, all partake. We will get into that for
you again coming up here a little over ten minutes
from now. So there's been some stuff that's come out
of Pittsburgh over the past several days in regard to
the Steelers who made the big time trade you know
a few days ago where they acquired Jalen Ramsey and
(14:02):
John hus Smith. They traded away micka Fitzpatricks and pick
swaps whatever. Then, so you look at that deal, then
you look at you hear some of the reports about
the TJ. Watt contract. The d D. Kikwalla was on
the fan in Pittsburgh and was talking about how, you know,
maybe there's some resentment that still holds over from the
last negotiations because the Steelers said something along the lines of,
(14:27):
you know, you're lucky to be a Pittsburgh Steeler and
he said, you're lucky to have me and all that like,
and who knows whether or not that's legit adity reported
on it, and you know, you take it for what
it's worth. I have no idea. I don't know who
her sources are. But there's just you know, you're hearing
these different stories that are coming out of Pittsburgh and
all of that, and and the big question, you know,
(14:50):
comes down to, all right, why are they going to
get a t J. Watt deal done? And then they
go out and announce a contract extension for their general
man a couple of days ago. So Omar Kahn gets
a three year contract extension. So let me ask you this,
Why the hell would you give your GM a three
year contract extension if you weren't pretty certain that you
(15:14):
were going to get things worked out with TJ. Watt,
know what I mean? Like everyone's wondering, like, hey man,
what's gonna happen with the TJ. Watt stuff? Do you
think they're going to get that? Right? There? Told me, yeah,
something's gonna get done. I don't I don't care about
these the report about, well, maybe there's some resentment over
(15:35):
the last negotiation, All right, what man, There's resentment during
every negotiation because one side's trying to tell you what
you're worth. You're trying to counter and they're going to
try and come up with evidence to show you why
you don't deserve what you're looking for. Derek Jeter had
resentment his final contract negotiation with the Yankees. I don't
(15:59):
see any body talking about that. I don't see whenever
Derek Jeter goes back to New York, I don't hear
any of that stuff come up. No. It's just he's
an all time great Yankee and we were lucky to
have him. So whatever resentment there was, whatever the Steelers
gave you a tell, the tell was giving omark on
(16:21):
that three year extension meant that we're not going to
lose TJ. Watt. And I say that because if something
were to happen and you were to lose TJ. Watt,
it undoes everything you did this offseason. I don't want
to hear about Aaron Rodgers. I don't want to hear
(16:43):
about dk metcalf. I don't want to hear about Jalen Ramsey.
I don't want to hear about John hus Smith. I
don't want to hear about any of that stuff. If
all of that culminates in you losing TJ Watt, trading
him whatever, like you know, relationship is fractured, he doesn't
want to be there. That erases all of the good
(17:05):
you did this offseason. So why would you give the
guy who's trying to get that done an extension and
further job security if you weren't entirely sure that he
was going to be able to get a deal done
with TJ Watt. It just doesn't make sense. So when
(17:27):
I see that, I'm looking at all these reports and
I'm you know, going through stuff before the show, and
I'm seeing all these various reports and people talking about
trade candidates and trade scenarios and where TJ walking out. Dude,
he's not going anywhere. It was a long shot for
him to be traded to begin with. But people have
(17:48):
looked at it and said, well, you know, his age,
and maybe you know the last negotiation, and you know,
maybe he's you know, not on the same page with
the organization. No TJ. Watt is in the final year
of a deal that he signed, and that was a
deal that was signed years before Miles Garrett decided to
get forty million dollars a year. So he's looking to
(18:08):
get paid and he should get paid. Guy's going to
be a Hall of Famer. He's been everything you wanted
and then some with the organization. And if this really
is a go for broke type year, which is what
it feels like, the Steelers are just trying new stuff,
which I'll give them credit. Man, I don't personally, I
(18:32):
don't think that this is going to work in result
in a Super Bowl. I call me crazy. I still
think that there's some obstacles in the AFC that they
would need to get through. Could they be a playoff team? Okay,
but I don't know that anybody looks at them and says,
all right, this is going to be This is closing
the gap between them and Kansas City, between them and Baltimore,
(18:55):
between them and Buffalo insert other AFC teams who were
playoff teams a year ago. But I'll give them credit.
At least they're trying something. They're trying to do something
because it felt like they'd been doing the same thing
repetitively over the past several years, just the same thing,
and at least they looked at it this year and said,
(19:16):
we got to shake it up, get we got to
try something different. And look. Jared Smith, Fox sports radio host,
betting analyst, he was on with us a few weeks
ago and he laid out, look, man, Pittsburgh's schedule is rough.
It's why when you see the stories come out and
start to trickle out this week because everybody's getting ready
(19:37):
for training camp and all that, and you look and
you go, oh boy, they're only favorite in six games
this upcoming year.
Speaker 7 (19:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Yeah. Jared was pointing that out a couple of weeks
ago when the schedules came out in full, like, yeah,
this is a problem. They're up against it, but at
least they're trying some stuff. But all that stuff that
they're trying is done, is erased and over. If you
(20:04):
can't figure this out with TJ. Watt and I just
don't see how you reward the guy who's trying to
make that happen with an extension unless you think or
pretty certain that you're close to that happening. I just
don't see it. So for anybody that's waiting on news
(20:24):
or looking around and saying, well, there's potential trade possibilities
for TJ. Watt, Man, what about this team and that
team and top five trade destinations for TJ. Watt if
the Steelers decide to move on. For everybody looking around
at all that stuff, it's cute, it'll get you through.
It's a decent fantasy. But the answer was given to
(20:47):
you in part by the guy making the decision getting
an extension. And you don't reward a guy like that
if he's about to make a move that would be
booed by everyone in the fan base that doesn't happen,
and would be booed by everybody on the outside of
the organization. You're not rewarding that guy unless you're pretty
(21:08):
certain he's going to be able to get a deal done.
So when Omar Khan got his extension, that told me, listen, man, TJ.
Watt's going to be a stealer by hook or by crook.
They're going to figure this thing out. He's not going anywhere.

I've never been a part of it. Find out why.
Coming up next here on FSR. But for all the
latest from around the world of sports, we turn it
over to the one, to the only, to the Piccolo
(22:15):
p of Fox Sports Radio, Your majesty, Sir Isaac Longbron.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
Yes, every single report is like a fourth of July
for the years Jonas Happy fourth or July weekend?
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Do you and we start naturally? By the way, what
did you what did you think of my you know,
my pointing out that every year you're warned about fireworks
accidents and every year there are fireworks accidents.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
All I can say is pretty amazing. Backup Terry, backup Terry.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Do you know? Do you know what I'm referring to?
Guy in the wheelchair?
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Backup Terry, backup Terry, and yet Trian and yet Fortunately
for first of all, Terry did not appear to be
interested or have the desire to back up, despite his
friends or associates pleading for him to back up. And also,
unless I'm misremembering that video, Terry emerged from that incident
(23:27):
completely unscathed, which is more than I could say for
most people. Yeah, I mean, you just see these and look.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
I feel bad for the people that are on the
outside that are seeing this, and all of a sudden
something tilt tips over in points in their direction and
fires one off at them, and then there's an accident
to either kids or people that had nothing to do
with lighting these things off. Feel bad for them. The
other people are idiots. I don't feel the least bit
bad for him. Dude, get it together. Understand what the
(23:56):
warning label is, dummy.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
I don't know how it is in your polite neighborhood,
but down the street we have a big legal fireworks alley.
So we toured it last night, and yeah, we always
made sure to make it in a safe distance. But
I'm not that I'd be terrified to try and set
some of those things off. And some of these people
are having their little kids set them off.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
You have a fireworks alley. It's a street, but it's
essentially a fireworks alley.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
People from that we've never seen before, like park up
and down this long narrow road by where we live,
and they just camp out there and they set their
fire It's great. I mean, we just walk up and
down and it's the best free. Oh you're just sore
because we didn't invite you this year.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Where do you live, bag Dad? People just lightened off
explosions that wait what, I'll send you some pictures and videos.
You can reach way to your followers and and they're
allowed to that's legal. It's yeah. I mean I didn't
know whether it was legal in our community.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
But like as this was happening, sheriff's deputy car just
drove slowly down the street seeing all these people setting
off fireworks and didn't stop.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Man, I mean, like I said, I don't know how
it is in your you know, gated community with snipers
maintaining a perimeter around the turrets there. But you know,
as I live among the people, it's it's more exciting there. Anyway,
back to you, it's correct.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Yeah, I know you described my residence to a tea.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
I've seen things on social media, so from the most
American thing ever to the.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
Most box with wind chimes.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
That's oh, come on, that might have been true years ago,
but you're a multi media empire beloved by everyone on
social media.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
Keep it coming.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Yes, we'll refresh your mentions in the meantime and see
how that played with your adoring public.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
So, like I said, for the most.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
American thing ever to the most burnished thing ever, and
that would be round three at Wimbledon, American Ben Shelton
taking on Hungary's Martin Fuvich. The second set after Shelton
took the first set six to three, went to a
tie break, and here's how it ended moments ago on
Radio Wimbledon from Shelton.
Speaker 8 (26:13):
Fjevich gets a racket two that's kind of got white,
huge roll roll bench. Shelton, he's two sets to love
up here on the number one court, one hour twenty
five on the clock. First set six to three and
the second seven games to six.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
Shelton, it's.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Those's to love and anyway. Shelton right now leaves the
third set two games to none. Well, seven time champion
Novak Djokovic taking on fellow Serbian Miyamir Katzmanovich, and right
now Djokovic up two sets to none and leading the
third set four games to one. Earlier, American Emmitavarro divida
defending champion Barbora create Shikova two six six three six four.
(26:55):
Big news just coming down in Major League Baseball is
a short time ago. New York Kee's manager Aaron Boone
gave an update on starting pitcher Clark Schmid, who was
placed on the injured list yesterday due to right four
arm soreness.
Speaker 7 (27:07):
He's gonna have to probably have surgery, likely Tommy John surgery.
He's kind of getting second opinions and things now, but
so we'll see, you know, what goes on here in
the next couple of days.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
What was the terror or is it a UCL terror?
Speaker 2 (27:20):
It looks like the UCL.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
One game going on right now at Wrigley Field the
Cubs and Cardinals. No score in the top of the
first finally, Jonas. Now tonight the Mariners are going to
be hosting the Pirates. And in case you and the
people out there missed it, do you hear what happened
before the Mariners Pirates game at T Mobile Park yesterday?
Speaker 4 (27:41):
No?
Speaker 3 (27:41):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (27:42):
All right, so the stadium's empty. It's the time before
the game and usually empty those teams play. All right,
It's not like it's the White Sox in the Rockies, who,
by the way, drew forty eight thousand yesterday. But anyway,
before yesterday's game started at T Mobile Park, a salmon
fell out of the sky and landed in the stands
(28:04):
behind the first base dugout. It turned out that, according
to multiple witnesses, they saw a falcon drop the salmon
while the falcon was being chased by an eagle on
the fourth of July above a Major League baseball ballpark.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
On that note, back to you, now, I've never I've
never gonna say it it's good. Well, I'm just wanted
did anybody actually did it? Was it caught or did
anybody like did they go scoop it up? Or yeah,
so they have a videotape.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
It landed like in the first row behind the first
base dugout, and they have video of the salmon plummeting
to the earth behind the first base dugout, and it
came within five feet of hitting some random person who
was standing there. And then the guy picked up the salmon,
which was remarkably intact, considering it just fell a couple
of hundred feet after being dropped and presumably mauled by
(28:59):
a foul who's being chased by an eagle.
Speaker 4 (29:01):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
Wow, well look, I mean so even the the falcons
can't even hold onto that.
Speaker 6 (29:12):
Man.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
Well, I'm just saying, because that's that's brilliant. So you're
saying it wasn't Julio Jones back in the day, just
saying like that was that? Was that the part two
of twenty eight to three.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
I'm just I'm just wondering, are you Are you going
to somehow find a way to blame this on Kirk Cousins?
Speaker 3 (29:33):
Perhaps? No, listen, k Kirks, he makes so much money.
Salmon's beneath him. Yeah he's not. He's not eating salmon. Please,
that's way beneath him. Wow, listen, look that's you. Hopefully
we ever picked up the salmon, enjoyed it, take it home.
And do something with it, you know, don't don't let
it go to waste. Somebody almost lost their life in
(29:53):
the sky trying to trying to get that dinner. So
all right, well that's interesting. I had heard that story.
Thank you, Ilo. By the way, I did something did
occur to me yesterday, and we are going to have
another edition of Do You Care coming up here in
about ten minutes from now. Jonas KNOCKX with you on
Fox Sports Radio. Something occurred to me yesterday. I sit
(30:13):
in judgment a lot of Joey Chestnut because I just
you know, it's revolted. The whole thing's disgusting to me.
I don't I just don't get. I don't understand the
shoveling food in your mouth for ten minutes. He did
like seventy and a half hot dogs in ten minutes,
which is just disgusting. I mean, that's not even like,
how do you tell somebody that's what you do for
(30:33):
a living? Like you imagine the first date with that guy, Hey,
what do you do for a living? I shove food
in my mouth? Oh okay, check please? But what just
there's nothing about it. I don't I don't understand.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
I actually, wait, a minute. On that note, do we
know his you know, personal relationship status? I mean, is
he married?
Speaker 3 (30:51):
Does he apparently? Never mind?
Speaker 1 (30:55):
Sorry, there's some negative he was spoken for but it
didn't work out according to Wikipedia.
Speaker 3 (31:01):
Oh what happened? I you know, it's personal. It's personal.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
People break up all the time, you know, but within
the last decade he was in a relationship.
Speaker 4 (31:11):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
Well, I'll just say this, I've actually never watched the
Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, And like, it didn't occur
to me until yesterday because as we were finishing up,
we filled it on the Dan Patrick Show, like Ryan
Burschinger and Iowa Sam and lead to lap like, yeah,
we're about to watch this Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest.
You want to stick around?
Speaker 5 (31:33):
No?
Speaker 3 (31:34):
And then on the drive home, on the drive home,
I realized, oh, I've actually never watched it. So I
sit here in judgment of it and I've never actually
watched it because I don't get it. And Isaac and
I were talking last week about the Savannah banana stuff,
the craze. It is the Savannah bananas, which I think
they're having another game this weekend. I think it's sold.
It might be maybe it's Fenway or somewhere like that.
(31:54):
And it's the same thing with the Nathan's Hot Dog
Eating contest. There are people that watched this thing religiously.
There are people that go to this event.
Speaker 7 (32:03):
For what.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
For what?
Speaker 3 (32:08):
By the way, I'm not making this up.
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Do you know who the the play by play or
the chu by choo commentator was yesterday?
Speaker 3 (32:15):
Who's that?
Speaker 4 (32:15):
It was?
Speaker 1 (32:16):
The noted respected sports journalist Jeremy Shapp.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
I kid thee not all the illustrious career of Jeremy Shapp,
A guy who has interviewed a who's who in sports.
I used to listen to Jeremy Shapps. What was the
radio show he had? It was like the equivalent of this. Yeah,
yea the sporting life I used to Jeremy Shapp is
(32:41):
calling the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest. They should thank
God that somebody like Jeremy Shapp would grace them with
his presence. Agreed. I'll bet if you ask Jeremy Shapp, like, hey,
top ten accomplishments, the Nathan's Hot Hot Dog Eating Test
is like two thousand. It's nowhere even near. I just
(33:07):
would you like to hear we do.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
Have Jeremy Shaff's final call of Chestnuts victory, along with
what I think is trenchant analysis by the analyst.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Do you want to hear it? It's sixteen seconds please?
All right, here we go. We're not going to get
to the record, but seventy Big would be in a
remarkable feat.
Speaker 9 (33:22):
Watch him here in the last seconds. Joey's gonna get
it in such neat eating too. The etiquette is just
exemptly something to aspire to.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
Sounds like Madden in Summer all to me.
Speaker 5 (33:36):
I can't do it.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
I'm sorry, man, but there's feel that love it. Man,
they just love it. I just I don't get the appeal.
I don't like I understand Savannah bananas more than that,
I get that. I just all right, Hey, teach their own,
but not my thing. At the Jonas Knocks On Acts

Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. Coming up top of next
hour a little over ten minutes from now, we are
going to tell you about how somebody in the NFL
is missing the point. They are missing the point when
it comes to the evaluations of their team this upcoming season.
We'll have that for you again a little over ten
(34:47):
minutes from now, Before we get to another edition of
Do You Care, though, I want to let you know
that you can check out the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of time
DMZ reports. Let's get kinky. Here's some of the big
stories from the last week. But Jonas, the real question
is do you Care?
Speaker 3 (35:28):
And for that we turn it over to our executive producer,
Patrick Sweek got to find out what the hell people
have been talking about all week.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
Patty, all right, well, Jonas, do you care that the
Dolphins in one of their trades this week they actually traded.
Speaker 5 (35:43):
For a man known as Darren Waller.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
What was he?
Speaker 5 (35:46):
A tight end?
Speaker 3 (35:47):
Jonas?
Speaker 5 (35:48):
He was retired, he now unretired. Do you care about that?
Speaker 3 (35:52):
I do, because I think it's all I love here.
The Miami Dolphins are in the midst of and Albert
Breer was on with this this week and he said, well,
you know they're rebuilding. I mean, if we're being honest
about it, the rebuilding and the fact that they traded
away John hus Smith, a guy who wanted to be
in Miami, was trying to get a deal done, a
guy who, oh, by the way, just had the best
(36:15):
season of his career, went to a Pro Bowl, produced
at a high level. They had been talking for months
about trying to get something done. Their solution was to
trade him, along with Jalen Ramsey, for Minka Fitzpatrick. But
don't worry, we'll fix the tight end spot. We're gonna
go ahead and sign some guy who's retired. What I
(36:39):
don't get it. I don't know what the plan is.
But if I was a Dolphins van, I would not
be optimistic going into next year.
Speaker 5 (36:45):
Next all right? Jonas?
Speaker 4 (36:47):
Well, speaking of fishy things, we got the Mariners with
this one. Do you care that newly minted MLB All
Star and Seattle Mariner catcher Cal Rawley, he has a nickname, Jonas?
Speaker 5 (37:00):
What's the nickname? Big Dumper?
Speaker 3 (37:04):
Care? All right? So what is first of all? So
is this basically because the guy's got a big ass? Yeah?
Is that what I'm saying? All right? So he's got
a all right, So the guy's got a big ass,
so they call him a big all right. I mean, look,
there's there's worse names out there. I can't think of
anybody any right now, but there's worse nicknames out there.
I will say this. He destroys the ball. He's unbelievable,
(37:29):
and for a guy who just signed a long term deal,
he's probably kicking himself going. Man, if I would have
just waited and then, you know, all of a sudden
come to the table to ask what they're willing to
offer after this year that he's had. He's on pace
for like seventy home runs this year. He's been unbelievable.
But hey, big Dumper on his way to the All
(37:50):
Star Game because he's got a giant ass.
Speaker 4 (37:52):
Next, when he hits a home run called big. Never mind,
she got great, thank you, thank you out what else
we got?
Speaker 5 (38:04):
Next?
Speaker 4 (38:05):
So the NX of penned Mike Brown to be their
new head coach after now firing a Tom Thibodeau.
Speaker 3 (38:11):
Do you care about that? Oh yeah, this is I mean,
the Knicks keep on giving love it. I just I
love that the Knicks are, like, you know what, we
really going to stretch this whole thing out. We are
going to stretch this entire thing out. We want everybody
to know that we are thinking big. We are thinking
huge when it comes to our next head coach. We're
gonna go ahead and hire the guy that we probably
(38:31):
could have hired like a week after the firing. Like
liter it's just like all of all of it was
for headlines. All of it was to try and get
everybody interested in the NIXT job. It's typical clown show
circus activity. It never fails with the next next.
Speaker 4 (38:46):
All right, jonas well, speaking of a clown show or
a catastrophe, hear me out here. So residents of a
Mexican office breakroom were terrorized in their building. From what
you asked, Jonas, Well, it was a spider monkey. It
was on the loose, andreaking havoc. There're the ceilings of
said office building scaring people left and right.
Speaker 3 (39:09):
So yeah, I mean I care about it because I
got like, why would a spider monkey be in in
the break room? Like what happened? Like did he crawl
through a Are they near a zoo? Did somebody have
like a pet spider monkey? Let's go live to where
I have a thought on spider monkeys inside of Chris perpepperlis.
Speaker 5 (39:26):
Chris coffee break that's why.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
Oh the monkey was on a coffee break. Yeah, he
was on a coffee break. Got everyone's down in the business?
Speaker 4 (39:34):
What for?
Speaker 3 (39:34):
That makes sense? By the way, we're not trying to
judge anybody for what they allow in the building because
we've got bats that fly around our studio. Oh yeah,
so there's there's no no judgment being passed along here.
But maybe somebody out of lock the doors there in Mexico.
One was literally flying right over my head one night. Yeah,
it's it's it's bizarre.
Speaker 4 (39:54):
What else we got, all right, Jonas? So a bear
was seen in California a California cabin. What else is
new breaking into said cabin where it right into the
fridge and abruptly left with all the food.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
Do you care? These are great? Look it shows all
that bears are, you know, trying to trying to find
their way. They don't seemingly hurt any human beings. I
don't even see him go after pets or dogs. They're
not like coyotes, who are scumbags. They're not going to
eat your cat or anything. They're just looking for something
to eat. The rummage through the cupboard. They'll grab some
(40:27):
jiff and maybe some berries on the way out and whatever.
You got to clean up a little mess, no big deal.
Speaker 4 (40:32):
Next, all right, there was a freeway big rig crash
on the Pennsylvania Highway.
Speaker 7 (40:40):
What was this?
Speaker 5 (40:41):
There was this big spillage. It was mozzarella cheese. Do
you care?
Speaker 3 (40:45):
Uh? Yeah, look, this is this is unfortunate. Somebody's got
to tighten up a little bit out there. Although I
will say this, truckers, you drive erradically way more than
you should. So there's somebody in the NFL who's missing
the point on the evaluation of their franchise. We'll explain
(41:06):
who that is coming up here in just a couple
of moments from now, Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. You
can listen to this show as always on the iHeartRadio app.
You can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across
the country and wherever you are making us a part
of your Saturday afternoon, we appreciate you doing so. We
are going to take you all the way up until
the end of this hour four pm Eastern time, one
(41:28):
o'clock Pacific. We've been talking a lot about fourth of
July Lebron James sending a tweet out in response to
a picture of him at the Cavs training facility and
telling everybody to basically get a life, and he's right.
We've also talked about how we know what's going to
happen in Pittsburgh, or at least I know the Steelers
(41:50):
are going to figure out how to get something done
long term with TJ. Watt, because you wouldn't reward your
GM Omar Khan with a contract extension unless you are
pretty certain that you were going to get that move done,
because without that move, this off season is a miss.
Like without that move, this off season's a miss. And
you could say, well, you know, they're a stable organization
(42:12):
and they've been able to identify, you know, the defensive
side of the ball. Maybe they can go in a
cheaper direction. No, no, No, they will figure out a
way to keep TJ. Watt in Pittsburgh. He's going to
sign a long term deal. He's going to be there
long term. I'm not worried about that at all. I
think a lot of this stuff is just fluff. Like
a lot of this stuff is just a you know,
(42:33):
there's stories and reports out there that maybe there's some
resentment over the previous negotiation. Dude, there's always resentments. Things
are going to happen in negotiations all the time. This
is just part of that process. This is how this works.
And ultimately I think they're going to get a deal done.
And I also am not sure that Aaron Rodgers would
(42:54):
sign up to want to come back and play for
Pittsburgh if he wasn't also certain that they were going
to get a deal done for J. J. Watt. Like
I would find that hard to believe. Like, you're not
giving you're not signing Aaron Rodgers, You're not making these moves,
You're not giving omar Con a contract extension. And then
turning around and doing this. It's counter to everything that
(43:15):
you've done this offseason. So to me, maybe a little
bit of a spoiler. But to me, I look at
it and I go, it's a rap. All these things
wouldn't have happened just for you to say no and
to move on from TJ. Watt either trade him or
not get a long term deal done. I just find
that hard to believe. It's not gonna happen. Now. Aaron Rodgers'
(43:37):
former team, the New York Jets, they find themselves in
a different spot. You've got Soft Gardner talking about, you know,
the throws by justin fields and practice and how he's
making Aaron Rodgers type throws. You've got all of this
new optimism there, Aaron Glenn's there. It's a whole new Jets,
(43:58):
whole new team. It's a new era of Jets football.
And then you've got Bryce Hall, who was discussing just
sort of where the team is at recently, this courtesy
of the team's website quote. I think people think the
new coaching staff and new GM means a rebuild. But
we have a lot of really good players on the roster,
(44:19):
so we're trying to win now, and I think a
lot of people from the outside are going to take
that for granted or not realize that we actually have
a team. He's totally missing the point, all right, completely
missed the point. Nobody's questioning whether or not the Jets
(44:40):
have talent. That's really not been in question for quite
some time now. Like they've had good players there, they've
had talent there. Nobody's questioning that. Just like having a
(45:00):
bunch of nice furniture in a house with a crummy foundation.
I mean, what are you supposed to do. Eventually things
are gonna fall apart. Get the best stuff you can
fill that room up. Fill that doesn't matter. If the
foundation is cracked, Eventually everything's gonna fall apart. So it's
(45:24):
not a knock on Jets players. If anybody's skeptical, if
anybody's doubting the Jets' future, if anybody's doubting whether or
not the Jets could be a player, or the Jets
could be you know, some sort of a thread or
pose some sort of an issue for anybody in the AFC.
Nobody's like, it's it's not about the players, it's about
(45:45):
all the stuff around them. Breesol even made mention of
that when he was talking to Marshawn Lynch on his podcast.
He was on with Marshawn Lynch and Michael Robinson and
we look played it last week and talked about so him,
you know, wanting to be optimistic and say, man, you
know some people maybe take it for granted, but we
have a team. It's like, dude, like there is talent there.
(46:07):
That's what's so frustrating about this. That's also a reason
why Rogers went there to begin with, is because there
was talent there. You felt like you had an opportunity there.
The problem is all the other stuff around it. Like
Bresol said it a week ago, Yeah, it's hard to
(46:29):
win games and stay focused and come in on you
know Mondays and Tuesdays and Wednesdays and third when like
there's all this other chaos. Yeah, and guess what, the
chaos is still there. It's still happening. So that's why
everybody you know is pausing on wanting to believe in
(46:51):
the Jets because they've got a brand new coach and
they've got dude, they've had a lot of new coaches,
they've had a lot of new executives. There's been a
lot of new players, a lot of new quarterbacks, and
not a lot of new stars. They've they've tried a
lot and it hasn't worked because of everything else around them.
(47:13):
So you're watching Aaron Glenn and all that. It's like
and this is what this is the part that amazes
me about this when it comes to some organizations going
through the hiring process, is the people that want the job.
That's the like, that's the part that it made because
(47:33):
I understand, listen, man, there's only thirty two of these things.
There's only thirty two jobs. You get an opportunity, you
got to take that job. It's like, okay, you know,
like Mike Brown takes the next job. Like Mike Brown
Coach of the Year twice. It's got pretty good pedigree,
pretty good resume. Came from the Warriors staff, won titles there,
(47:58):
came from the Spurs like this, Like he's been around,
but he's been around stable organizations and still signed up
for that. Why I just I don't I why Aaron
Glenn I believe was going to get an opportunity to
(48:20):
be a coach, Like at some point he was going
to get an opportunity. He believes this was going to
be his spot. Okay, Mike Brown wants to get back
in the game, wants to go coach, all right, And
I understand, Look, there's only thirty of these, or there's
only thirty two of these, and you got to take
(48:40):
the opportunity when you get it. But man, the people
that willingly run to that always kind of surprise me
because you've got decades worth of evidence that it's a circus.
Like I hope Dave Canalis is given time in Carolina.
(49:00):
I hope he's given a real opportunity. But good luck, man,
it's David Tepper. He played nice for a year. David
Tepper played nice for a year. He didn't meddle in
anything for a year, but he did it the year
before that. He did it the year before that. Like,
good luck. I hope it works out for Dave Canalis.
(49:21):
I thought they made improvements last year. Bryce Young looked
significantly improved last year. And everything you hear about Dave
Canalis is great, dude, great dude. I hope it works out.
But damn, when you took the gig, you had to
have known, all right, this this could could go sideways quick.
Like I was happy for Demico Ryans when he got
(49:42):
to Houston and they won games and C. J. Stroud
looked the way that he looked. And you know, they've
been to the playoffs a couple of years because they
were one and done on coaches for a while. But
like you know, Breese Hall's talking about yeah, you know,
just you know, we've got a team, dude. Nobody's no.
Nobody's questioning the furniture. They're questioning the foundation. It's not
(50:05):
about that. But yet there's people that sign up for
those gigs all the time. And I made this point
talking earlier this week. It's like the people who have
who received like serial killers who have love letters sent
to them. There's these women who come from all over
the country that wan like I could change them, Like listen,
(50:27):
I know it's been rough, but I can change them.
Like like some of them get married. The night stalk
er I think had a wife in somehow they got
married through the prison bars, Like I could change them.
They can find people like that. I think they can
change them. It's like, no, the ending is going to
be the same as it is for everybody else. Tied
(50:49):
up in the trunk of a car and it ditched somewhere.
That's how this goes. There is no other way. That's
how it always goes. So like you hear Briece a,
you're like a fan basically like, oh well, people are
just too negative about our organizations, Like no, man, We've like,
how much more evidence do you need? We've seen it,
(51:11):
like and yet there's somebody who's always willingly there to
take it, like like wants to sign up for it,
Like oh yeah, well I could turn things around here. Okay,
So man, good luck to Aaron Glenn, good luck to
Mike Brown. Good luck in year two, to Dave Canalis,
good luck. But if people are doubting your team or
(51:33):
skeptical about your team going into a season, or when
they make a move, or when it's got nothing really
to do with the people inside the building, it's the
people on the outside of the building that's the problem.
At the Jonas Knocks on X at the Jonas Knox
on X and you can hang out with us as
always on the iHeartRadio app. You can also get us
(51:53):
on the Instagram page as well too at Jonas knock Show.
Coming up next here though, we are going to tell
you how oh there's people in sports you might even
be one of them who are just finding out about
something that's been here for a long time and it's
got scandal written all over it. Find out what it
(52:15):
is next Jonas Knoxbox Sports Radio. Coming up a little
(52:44):
over ten minutes from now, we are going to tell
you about a literal no win situation in the world
of sports. This is a no win situation for either team,
fan base, franchise, etc. We'll explain why coming up here
a little over ten minutes from now. D writes in
(53:08):
the only fireworks going off at Board Off Jay Off
Joni's house is the freak off condom pile in the corner.
Aaron writes in The Jonas Knox Show. Shouldn't be warning
people about fireworks and blowing digits off. It should be
(53:30):
warning listeners that Jonas inhales more Lebron James and Aaron
Rodgers Glizzies than Joey's chestnut at the Jonas Knox on X.
You can also find us on Instagram at Jonas Knox Show.
Both those are rude. If I do say so myself,
(53:51):
both of those were extremely rude, but part for the
course here on a Saturday afternoon. Now, there is something
it is happening this and I just I kind of
get a kick out of this. So when you see
the stuff popped up that with Louis Ortiz of the
(54:12):
Cleveland Guardians, you see like the gambling allegations that pop
up to where you know, people are trying to figure
out like, well, you know, like what are we talking
about as far as details on the gambling and what
he did. And then you know, according to sources, there
was action on Ortiza's first pitches and select innings to
(54:34):
be a ball or a hit batsman in a couple
of games. So people are betting on individual pitches in
these games a significant amount of money, so much so
that it flagged it. There was a betting integrity site
that spotted it and said, all right, well this is
this is odd. We need to take a look at this.
You guys have got to do something about it. So
(54:55):
you see that, you see the Elik Easily stuff where
there was a prop bet on his rebounds that sort
of flagged some people going hey, maybe maybe we should
investigate this a little further as well too, that we
should look into this. And then you obviously know the
Johntay Porter stuff and all these other scandals and stuff
(55:16):
that have come out when it comes to gambling. All
these things that have happened people have been really, really
surprised by. And those people are the people that have
never been around the gambling world or have been around
this stuff at all. I have not been surprised by
(55:37):
the incidents of players getting popped because I've either known
or been around sports betters for probably twenty plus years.
My first email address I ever got. The only reason
I signed up for an email account back then was
because you needed one if you wanted to keep up
with how betting lines were going, like if you wanted
(55:59):
to look at like different betting lines and whatnot. Like
I needed an email address to have that. That's the
only reason I got an email. I don't even think
I used it to send emails, but I needed one
to set up an account to be able to look
at that stuff. That's why I got it. Like you
stay you know, up to speed onlines, points, spreads, over unders, props,
(56:22):
et cetera. All like bad beats, Oh my god, I've
got that and stories for days about bad beats. I
can remember betting on a Calves Magic game while I
was a busboy at TGI Fridays, and I remember I
had a parlay. I had the Calves plus two and
(56:43):
a half in Orlando, and I had the under of
two to one and a half and Cleveland had a
one hundred to ninety seven lead. I was sitting pretty
until Tracy McGrady threw up a three missed but got fouled,
hit all three free throws and it went into overtime.
(57:05):
So I lost the bet, and you're thinking, what, Well,
because it was a parlay, I needed the under to hit.
I needed Cleveland and the under. So because it went overtime,
it hit the over, it lost the bet. I worked
that entire shift and then the next night for free.
Oh I've got bad beats to all that stuff for you.
So when you've been involved with or known people from
(57:27):
that world, you know the highs, you know the lows,
and you also know to come to find out, there
are some scumbags in that world, and there are also
people who are willing to partake in scumbaggery even if
it cost him everything. That's real. You look at these
(57:50):
athletes that are getting popped for this stuff and you go,
oh my god, why would you risk it all? Dude?
That's that world. You get hooked on it, you lose
a bet, start chasing. Next thing you know, you're a
ton of debt and you're trying to get out of it,
or somebody throws you a few bucks to try and
help you. That's that world, and that world was brought
(58:12):
in to professional sports. So while everybody's out looking at
this going oh my gosh, no, no, this is what
could potentially happen. And if you didn't know that, it's
because you'd never been around it before. So when this
stuff pops up, I don't. I'm not surprised or stunned
by it. It's like, oh, of course, did you think
(58:33):
that there was going to be some other result? Like
did you think everything was going to be squeaky clean?
You were just going to make a bunch of money
from these gambling sites. It was going to infiltrate a
bunch of cat like, put a bunch of cash back
into the system, into the machine, so to speak, and
there were gonna be no issues whatsoever. Is that how
you thought this worked. It doesn't work that way. There
(58:55):
are scumbags in every industry, specifically in that one. There
are things that are going to go sideways. When you
have money and people that do bad things with money
like this, this was always a possibility. Yes, guys were
going to risk at all on a pitch, whether it
(59:17):
was an outside pitch or a hit batsman or a
ball or a straight Yes, they were going to do that. Yes,
they were going to potentially sabotage their career. So they
hit over two and a half rebounds or under two
and a half, Yes, that was going to happen. That's like,
this is the risk. I got news for you. You
(59:38):
put a cup of draino on the kitchen table and
walk away for ten minutes. At that point, it's a
role that dies, whether or not you're rushing your kid
to the er later that day. I'm sorry. That's the
risk that comes along with this stuff. It's like the
fireworks explosions. Oh my god, I can't belie. Like guy's
(01:00:01):
house caught on fire and he lost half an armed
Oh you think, no, no kidding, Like when this stuff
pops up, I'm not surprised at all. Do you think
it's this is gonna stop happening? Do you think we're
never gonna hear another story about a guy sabotaging his
career for gambling. Really you think you think this is it,
(01:00:22):
like we've just we've reached the ceiling. No no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
We've only scratched the surface. This is going to continue
to happen. And I'd also say this for people that say, well,
you shouldn't have just you shouldn't have let it in
the sport at all. No, no, no, that's not. Just
because somebody gets stabbed doesn't mean you stop selling knives.
(01:00:45):
Just because somebody beats their neighbor to death with a
hammer doesn't mean you close down ace hardware. It doesn't
work that way. You You are giving players the ability
if they choose to jeopardize their career. Some are going
to do it, most aren't. But this doesn't mean that
(01:01:07):
you just get rid of it from sort. Well, I mean,
if you're going to take all this money, I mean,
what do you expect. No, you expect that players are
going to look at this and make the right decision.
But some people can have a hammer and use it
to build something, and then some people can have a
hammer and use it to break something. And some of
these players have chosen this. When this stuff pops up
(01:01:29):
and people are looking at the details of it, like
the oh, he's betting on rebounds and pitch. I mean
this whole Wait, how did dobody think this through? No,
you just didn't think it through. This was always a possibility.
It doesn't mean you get rid of them all, you
get rid of every gambling affiliation with every sport or whatever.
Speaker 5 (01:01:48):
No, you don't do that.
Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
You just understand this is what could happen. This is
what could happen. There are some people that are going
to make mistakes and some people are not going to
handle this the right way. This is what could happen.
And if you've been around this stuff for as long
as I have, you've got stories or know of situations
for days. Man, there's been stuff thrown out there for
(01:02:12):
years about athletes betting or potentially being involved in There
was a rumor out years and years and years ago
that Mike Dicka had a prop bet on the fridge
to score a touchdown in the Super Bowl and that's
the reason he gave him the ball and not Walter Payton,
which is what led to Walter Payton being upset. That
(01:02:34):
was a rumor years ago. Who knows if it's true,
It's probably not true, but there's been rumors about this
stuff for years. So if you are appalled or taken
aback by the fact that, oh my god, that people
are behaving this way, well, yeah, that's what happens in
this Like sometimes this happens. Sometimes you leave something on
(01:02:59):
the tape and something goes wrong, So you can either
not leave it on the table or not be so
surprised when something crazy happens. So when something crazy happens
here and you see people getting popped for gambling and
you see, I'm not surprised at all, and I think
it's going to continue to happen, like they're going to
investigate stuff like this, it will pop up again. That's
(01:03:22):
how this works. It's like peds, Oh we're testing now,
we're testing. Now, how come people are still pissing hot?
You're never going to get rid of it all the way.
It's always going to be here. You just can't be
surprised when it happens. At the Jonas Knocks On X
at the Jonas Knocks On X and you can get
us on Instagram as well too, at Jonas Knox show
(01:03:43):
up next. Though, we have a literal no win situation
in the world of sports. That will be yours here
on FSR, but for all the latest from around the
world of sports, Ladies and gentlemen. A man who is
sent over video evidence of the fireworks spectacle of the
(01:04:04):
Lowen Krans, which I would say, what did you just
say the Loan Krowns.
Speaker 1 (01:04:10):
Yeah, you know you said Lowan kransh Mike, you said
Loan Kran Not really.
Speaker 3 (01:04:16):
We've got you in four k Okay, that's fine. What
you called him Jokovic earlier too, so we're even now.
He calls himself djokovin. But then why did you call
him Djokovic afterwards?
Speaker 1 (01:04:27):
Perhaps I mispronounce it, but the accurate, the accurate pronunciation
is Djokovic.
Speaker 3 (01:04:33):
Okay. Can I present you in the way that I
want to present you?
Speaker 2 (01:04:37):
And we do this all?
Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
I keep asking me permission to do stuff? Show you
interrupted lettation. Let me do the presentation. Fine, ladies and gentlemen.
We turn it over to a man who demands your respect,
and if he doesn't get it, he'll bring you out
back behind fireworks alleys and lights you up. The one
(01:05:00):
and only Isaac long Cross. I'm sorry I snapped at you, Jonas,
That's all right, all right, pretty impressive. I say this.
I saw the video. Yeah, isn't that cool? It's also
not legal. I don't know where you're from. I don't know.
(01:05:22):
I don't know how anybody would think that.
Speaker 1 (01:05:24):
I meet a sheriff's vehicle drove at like fifteen miles
an hour down the street taking it all in.
Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
That's all I'm saying. Okay, I mean, did not have
a problem with it, all right, listen. I just hope
everybody was safe. That's all I'm ok.
Speaker 1 (01:05:40):
Everybody was, Thank goodness. There were a couple of close
calls there. So that's an Independence Day weekend tradition, and
what could be better than a day game at Wrigley
Feel between the Cardinals and the Cubs. Right now, the
Cardinals have a three to one lead over the Cubs
as they go to the bottom of the fourth inning,
Saint Louis taking the lead a short time ago, adding
to it on a home run by Nolan Gorman is
(01:06:03):
twenty sixth throughle on out of the season. The Cubs
run coming out a home run by Michael Bush after
he had three home runs in their victory yesterday. Bush
now with eighteen home runs on the season. The Tampa
Bay Rays up to one at Minnesota going to the
bottom of the fourth inning. Angels and Blue Jays tied
one in the bottom of the second inning at Toronto.
Off the field, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone today
(01:06:25):
gave an update on starting pitcher Clark Schmid, who was
placed on the injured list yesterday due to right forearm soreness.
Speaker 7 (01:06:32):
He's gonna have to probably have surgery, likely Tommy John surgery.
He's kind of getting second opinions and things now, but
so we'll see what goes on here in the next.
Speaker 3 (01:06:41):
Couple of days. What was the terror or is it
a UCL terror? It looks like the UCL. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:06:47):
Meanwhile, in round three at Wimbledon today, seven time champion
Novak Djokovic swept fellow Serbian Miyamir Katzmanovich. American Ben Shelton,
in his third round match swept Hungary's Martin Foodshovic. By
the way, Jonas, are you familiar with this guy, Ben Shelton?
His American tennis player, like Atlanta or somewhere like that. Okay,
(01:07:12):
so you might have to google this because I is
it me? Or is Ben Shelton a dead ringer for
Jackson Mahomes.
Speaker 3 (01:07:22):
Oh god, you're right. Yeah, I mean once you see it,
you can't.
Speaker 6 (01:07:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
Man, wow, did he just drop in the rankings? Since
she pointed that out? Literally literally? Yeah, he looks just like.
What's Jackson Maholls been up to?
Speaker 1 (01:07:40):
Thankfully not mutch it appears unless he you know, what
he should do full time, unless he changed his identity
and became a champion tennis player.
Speaker 3 (01:07:49):
You know what Jackson Mahomes should do full time? What's that?
He should be his dad's designated driver. Well, I don't
keep you employeed. Wow, you know I mean?
Speaker 1 (01:08:00):
And no family is perfect. We all have our you know,
all of our issues. We're caught up in an illegal
fireworks neighborhood.
Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
I don't know how you think that's LEAs so bizarre
like you got to see. I wish you would post
the video of this. You'd get arrested if you post
the video of this. I had nothing to do with that.
I'll tell you what I did, literally showing fireworks litten
in an alley near his house that is so illegal
you can't even believe it. I'll tell you what. I'll
tell you what.
Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
I give you permission to post it on your various
social media account I don't, okay, it's just we have
I'm not trying to be rude here, but you and
I have different social media audiences. Mine is, you know, classy,
respectful and appreciative, and yours is kind of difference.
Speaker 3 (01:08:50):
That's what I was gonna say. Anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
Earlier, American Emminavarrow defeated defending champion Barbora kray Chikaba two
six sixty three six y four. However, American Danielle Colin
defeated by eight seed Ega Fiantek. Finally in the NBA,
SNY Television reported a short time ago the incoming New
York Knicks head coach Mike Brown's contract is for four
years and forty million dollars. Jonas, back to you, and
(01:09:15):
again I apologize for snapping at you earlier.
Speaker 3 (01:09:18):
Listen, I've heard worse. You've seen worse than your mentions. Yeah,
it's called marriage. Trust me. I have been through worse. Oh,
thank you, Elo. Yep, it is Jonas Knox here on
Fox Sports Radio. By the way, we're going to close
up shop with the scraps here in about ten minutes
from now. Those are things in the world of sports
and beyond. We have not had a chance to get
(01:09:38):
to that will be yours here. I didn't want to
mention this because this was a no win situation for
anybody involved. So last night, for fourth of July, the
Houston Astros annihilated the Los Angeles Dodgers eighteen to one.
I mean, they destroyed the LA Dodgers. Worst loss by
(01:10:03):
the Dodgers in the history of that stadium, never seen
it before. And what's great about baseball, and especially baseball
involving these two organizations when they play each other, is
that literally nobody won. Nobody won because the Dodgers are fine. Yeah, whatever,
(01:10:28):
we got our ass, What big deal? They're fine. Still
the best team in baseball is still probably gonna win
a World Series. Big deal. The Astros beating the Dodgers
will never count because no matter what they do, they'll
never rid themselves of the stain that goes along with
the sign stealing scandal that they were part of against
the Dodgers. All of it is Nolan void. Like jose
(01:10:54):
L two vaconate his mini home runs at Dodgers Stadium
for the rest of his career. Nobody cares, doesn't matter.
Lance McCullers you can have as many quality starts against
the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium the rest of your career.
Nobody cares. And those are the only two left from
that twenty seventeen team. But anybody else with the Astros
(01:11:16):
like new Astros, Isa Pretty's Cam Smith like new Astro
like No, you're all here too, like you, None of
that counted. None of it counts because nobody's ever gonna
get over that. Nobody's gonna ever gonna And if you're
(01:11:37):
an Astros fan and you're going, well, man, you know
it's been so long and nobody's there anymore, and it's
a brand new team and we won a world to
totally credit deserved a congratulations all as well. The problem is,
we all know what happened. We all saw what happened,
and anytime that team plays in Dodger Stadium, it's a
waste of time if you win, because it'll never count out.
(01:12:01):
It's never gonna count because in the eyes of everybody
there that sees these two teams matched up for the
rest of time, are immediately going to go back to
that series and that scandal and what happened. So congratulations
on an eighteen to one win and congratulations on an
eighteen to one win that didn't count and will never
(01:12:23):
count based on previous actions. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports

Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
This, Jonas Moro, how could you not get to these stories?
Speaker 5 (01:13:58):
You morones?
Speaker 3 (01:14:00):
Are there scraps? All right? Patrick Sweeko? What are we
looking at today? All right?
Speaker 5 (01:14:04):
Jonas? Well, this one was from the Dude Cares, but
I got one for you here. So there's an.
Speaker 4 (01:14:08):
Annual race at a horse track where racing obviously is done.
But here's the thing, Jonas, it's not by horses. It's
my weirdos in inflatable t Rex costumes that are just
running around drunkingly and stupidly.
Speaker 5 (01:14:22):
Just yeah, annual by the way.
Speaker 3 (01:14:25):
Okay, so they dress is it? Like? Uh so, just
inflatable t rex costume.
Speaker 4 (01:14:30):
Like those costumes you'll see with those, like t Rex
is running around looking kind of silly when they run
like those big inflame ones.
Speaker 3 (01:14:36):
Is it? By the way, isn't there like a h
a new Jurassic park that's out or something?
Speaker 4 (01:14:41):
Like that.
Speaker 3 (01:14:42):
Yeah, this has nothing to do with that. This is
just people running around a t Rex costumes just for
the hell of it.
Speaker 4 (01:14:49):
Yeah, apparently they just did it. The last one was
I believe twenty twenty one. They had to stop for
a couple of years and.
Speaker 3 (01:14:55):
That they brought it back and it's at a horse track.
It is.
Speaker 4 (01:14:59):
I literally we saw pictures of it's at a see
you know how it's like the jockeys like in the
door thing they go and they're off.
Speaker 5 (01:15:05):
That is exactly what it was.
Speaker 3 (01:15:08):
Can you bet on it? May seriously, if it's at
a horse For people that don't know, then I'll say
just from personal experience. As we keep with the gambling
theme here, shout out to all my fellow flunky degenerate
gamblers who are losing their careers in sports because they're
betting on their own games. Like if you go to
say Santa need a racetrack, beautiful place out here in
(01:15:30):
southern California in Arcadia. If you go to Santa I
need it. Even when there's not live racing going on,
you can bet on events. But when there's live racing
going on, you can bet on those events. So that's
a live race. Why wouldn't you be able to bet
on it at a horse track. I mean seems to
(01:15:51):
me that would be that would be something to look into.
If that's the case, I think you know. I'm in.
I'm in. If somebody wants to gamble on some t
rex is running around in circles because they're losers, that's fine,
We'll go ahead and bet on them. What else we got, Patty?
All right?
Speaker 5 (01:16:04):
Well, another one we have going on.
Speaker 4 (01:16:06):
Some former Bengals former Dolphins safety Rashad Jones had about
two and a half million stolen from a former financial
advisor that had access to his funds, and it was
pretty much a big money laundering scam going from twenty
nineteen up till about twenty twenty four.
Speaker 3 (01:16:25):
These people are such scumbags, like anybody who gets a
hold of somebody else's account because of trust and like, hey,
this is my job. You can trust me with your money.
I'll take care of you. I'll make sure your fortune
is intact. And you end up just rifling through all
(01:16:46):
their earnings and all their spendings behind their back, like
they put their trust in you and you just ruin
them financially for life because you're a dirt bag. I
just I don't. I can understand doing some underhanded things.
I could understand maybe cutting somebody off in traffic. I
could understand, maybe running a red light. I could understand, Like,
(01:17:07):
there's certain things that I could understand. You know, you
see a hundred bucks lying on the ground and nobody's around,
you pick it up and go sweet Like I can
understand things like that. Willingly and knowingly robbing somebody and
doing it based on the illusion that you should be trusted.
I'll never understand it. That guy's a scumbag. He should
(01:17:28):
go away for a long time.
Speaker 5 (01:17:30):
What else we got?
Speaker 4 (01:17:30):
Well, actually, prior to even that, Jonas, before I jump
into that, it wasn't just oh, stealing it for whatever
it was to continue living a lavish lifestyle, going to
the strip club and even paying for child support. And
it's just like it was all the wrong, wrong reasons.
Speaker 3 (01:17:48):
All right, well listen, But as long as it was
for going to the strip club, everything's fine. Yeah, then
I understand the motives, Like Magic City, I get it.
I understand. Yeah, it's not like he's just taking that
money and keeping it for himself. You know how many
women were able to you know, enjoy their weekend that
weekend because that guy had and so for so it
had to come at the cost of somebody else's earnings.
(01:18:08):
It's fine, cool now that I know that, it kind
of changed the way. If people love faith, I'd hire
him to be honest with you, fair, fair point. Well
what else we got?
Speaker 4 (01:18:17):
So fourth of July obviously was yesterday, So with that
we got one for you here. So Jason Pierre Paul.
We all know Jason Pierpaul, former NFL edge rusher. So
remember the incident he had. He was one of the
back in the day, the dummies that eld A you know,
lud off his hand yep. So he reflects on his
accident and he he recently reflected on the end, made
(01:18:38):
a claim that he wants to jump back into the NFL.
He didn't play last year, he was out, and he's
also thirty six years old, but he wants to make
a return.
Speaker 3 (01:18:46):
He still had a pretty remarkable career post injury. When
that was. If you saw the like the unedited pictures
like the that that came out, I mean that was
and he still had a pretty solid career after that,
even with all that stuff going on. I mean, whether
or not he gets back into the NFL, I mean,
(01:19:09):
who the hell knows, but to do what he did
following that accident and what happened. And by the way,
when was that happened, Like twenty fourteen, twenty third like
something like that, Like yeah, he was like it was
about ten years ago, yeh, yeah, Like he he ended
up having a pretty decent run in the NFL after
all that. I mean, And if I'm not mistakeing, I
(01:19:31):
think he was on that Super Bowl team with the Bucks.
He was, Yeah, he won the Super Bowl the Bucks afterwards,
But yeah, that was just a wild time. And I
remember the coverage of that and Adam Schefter releasing the
hospital photos and Jason pr Paul getting pissed about it.
But I just, I mean, I'll just say this, I
(01:19:54):
heard a story during the break that my mind is
racing right now, and I've seen the evidence, and I'll
just you know, I feel like somebody was holding out
on us because I didn't realize that Martin Weiss went
to grade school with the guy from Vanilla Sky, Like
I had no idea. But apparently apparently Martin grew up
(01:20:19):
in some wild times, man, like he had some wild classmates.
I'll just say that because their fourth July looked a
lot different than mine. My fourth of July was spent
trying to figure out whether or not I was going
to be able to butcher the s'mores recipe, and they
were sitting there, falling asleep on candles.
Speaker 2 (01:20:37):
Jonah's Son of a Bitch
