Speaker 1 (00:00):
I have to stop from the beginning.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Jonas Knocks, you thought you knew me, You didn't know
a thing about me. He's crazier than a else. Wrecked.
That guy, Jonas Knocks, you heard me.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Pray in some darkness is lighting up your speakers to
establish an alibi for the day. No Live from the
Fox Sports Radio studios, here's Jonas Knox. Y.
Speaker 4 (00:27):
Okay, I'll report.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Of this world. You know, I think we're all learning
in real time that you can try and project and
(00:52):
predict and forecast how things are gonna go without any
evidence whatsoever, and ultimately you're gonna get disappointed. We'll get
into that because it's playing out in the world of
football right now, and we're gonna have that for you
coming up here in just a couple of moments from now.
It is Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio. You
can find us as always on the iHeartRadio app. You
(01:15):
can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across the country.
If you're listening on the podcast, we appreciate you doing so,
and we are going to take you all the way
up here live until four pm Eastern time, one o'clock
Pacific here on FSR. So normally you would never just
see somebody on site. I mean, you hear these stories
(01:35):
and they're few and far between where somebody says, man,
I saw this somebody on site, and you know, I
knew right then and there that was gonna be the
person I married. I mean, it's a little creepy if
you think about it, Like it's a little creepy, like
you see somebody walk down the street, you see somebody
in a crowded mall or a grocery store, and it's like, man,
I just knew the second I saw them that was
(01:56):
gonna be the person I married. No, you sound like
a psychopath. And the only reason you think that is
because fifteen minutes later they're probably going to be in
the trunk of your car. It's crazy. Normally, you need
a first date, maybe a second date, probably a third,
and you need to build some time together before you
(02:16):
decide you want to build a life together. That's usually
how that goes. But for some reason, in college football,
we do this thing, you know, like it's this really
odd thing where we do preseason rankings. You know, like
they come out with the preseason top twenty five, and
(02:38):
so I'm just kind of you know, looking over the
preseason top twenty five, and I'm seeing like some teams
near the top, like Ohio State, Like okay, Ohish States there,
and I'm just going to go like going through the
top four. I'm looking at like the four teams that
are in the top twenty five. I see Texas is there. Well,
that didn't work out. Then I'm like Penn State and Clemson. Hmmm,
(03:04):
where are they at? Oh, that's right, they got married
to the Pinstripe Bowl, you know what I mean? Like
that was your preseason. Two of the top four teams
in the preseason top twenty five are currently playing a
game at Yankee Stadium. At some point, this whole exercise
(03:32):
of let's forecast what the season should look like, and
who's this without any game being played. At some point,
somebody's got to have a real conversation and be like, yeah,
this doesn't make any sense, Like this really just doesn't
make any sense. Like these two teams were predicted before
(03:53):
the season as two of the top teams in college football,
like we're talking about and it's not even look like
you know, preseason top for top five shortest national championship
bots and that happens sometimes, you know, sometimes like hey,
who do you think is going to win the National
Championship or the Super Bowl or the NBA Finals? Do
you come out with these pre hey, you know, things
pop up and think. But like, let's be honest here,
(04:15):
even before injuries and anything else that went down, these
teams were awful. They were bad. Kid Klubnick was one
of the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy. Hasn't gone well.
We know what went down to Penn State. It took
him two months to find a head coach. They found
a good one, but that was a disaster. It just
(04:37):
at some point, somebody's really got to stay. And you
know what this is, It's because we're so starved for football.
We get so hungry for it that the second anything
football related comes around in the summertime, we just jump
all on it like we're famished, like we've got to
(04:57):
have anything football. So all of a sudden, these top
twenty five rankings go oh oh wait, wait, wait, wait,
hold on, where's your evidence, Like what game have you
seen to indicate to you that these teams are tough?
Like where is this? And ultimately a lot of the
(05:21):
time it ends up like this, and then you start
to look back and you go at some of the
teams that beat them earlier in the year, it's like, oh,
they had to win over this team and they were
a top four to It's like, okay, and what we've
done this show in this timeslot all year long, and
let me tell you what we've talked about all year long.
(05:42):
Hey man, Clemson's getting beat again. Hey, what do you know?
Penn State's getting beat again? Hey, And yet these were
two of the top four teams in the preseason top
twenty five. If you needed any further evidence that you
need further evidence before you determine what's right for you
and what's not. Get a whiff of the Pinstripe Bowl
(06:04):
at Yankee Stadium where two top four preseason teams are
battling it out with a six to three score at
the start of the second half. At the Jonas Knox
on x at Jonas Knox Show on Instagram and you
can hang out with Us is always on the iHeartRadio app.
So I don't know if you had seen this, you know,
but apparently Max Crosby's not a big fan of being
(06:29):
told that they're going to shut him down. For the
remainder of the season. So the Raiders are an awful
football team. I don't know if anybody's got a glimpse
of that, but the Raiders are an awful football team.
And so Max Crosby, according to Jay Glazer yesterday, he
was the first to report this. Max Crosby, on being
told that the Raiders are going to shut him down,
(06:50):
he was not going to be playing in this big,
big time matchup with the New York Giants coming up
later on on Sunday. Max Crosby left the facility happy
about it. So Pete Carroll, the Raiders head coach, he
spoke about the interaction breaking the news to Max Crosby
and how things played out yesterday in the building.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
It just looks too bad and so and he didn't
want to take the news like that, and I didn't
want to take the news like that. And so we
just worked our way through to get to this point
where and he's been packing on Fridays and he wasn't
you know, he'd have gone if we let him, he'd
have been out there and he would not have hesitated.
But he knows that he's banged up, so so you know,
he's talking about you know, I'd like to get out
(07:31):
of here, and I said, yeah, get out of here,
you know, so he took off reaction?
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Was it anger or in terms of him? And he
left the build as to leave the building? Did he
leave pissed off?
Speaker 4 (07:41):
Or or he the competitor that he is the reaction
that he that he We've been talking about for a
couple of days. What's going is spring on? We've been
talking about it, and uh, it was exactly like you
would think he would do and he and he should do.
And I agree with him one thousand percent on how
he responded, and I responded the same way, and I
(08:03):
get it. And so we fought away through it and
just came to the hopefully the right conclusion, you know,
for the you for his long long betterment.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Yet Pete, when he said I got to get out
of here, he didn't mean like just today, like he
meant in general like this. I think I think maybe
Pete misunderstood you know, the like how long of a
like whatever the Raiders thought they were doing this year,
whatever this plan was, This ain't it. And I don't
(08:35):
want to hear anybody sell me on well, you know,
it's just a it takes time, you know, like they're
working through some things. No, no, no, let's not misconstrue
what happened here. It's not as if the Raiders went
out and drafted a developmental quarterback or a used a
second round pick, or a Tyler Shuck type situation, or
(08:57):
even a Shad or Sanders type situation. The Raiders went
out and absolutely one hundred percent expected to be more
competitive than they were this year, one hundred percent. And
any Raider fan, any fanboy, or ball washing Raider supporter
who tries to sell you otherwise and say, no, it's
a rebuilding year. Stop stop. Pete Carroll is in his seventies.
(09:24):
This isn't a we hired a young guy and we're
gonna work through this together because we're building a culture.
Why do you think they went from Ben Johnson who
was thirty nine to Pete Carroll in their seventies, Like,
why do you think that might have happened? Because the
Raiders really, you know what, let's let's go ahead and
let's try and compete to a certain extent now and
(09:46):
at least show some sort of growth, some sort of
something towards the end of the year. Maybe we're not
a playoff team, but you know what, if we could
be like a six to seven win team and be
really competitive, we're good with that. Instead, they're being celebrated
because they kept it close with the Texans. If you
(10:07):
go back through the season, they have gotten worse, not better.
They've gotten worse, and Max Crosby's looking around, going, dude,
what is the plan? What are we doing? We talked
about it a couple of weeks ago. Diana Rassini that
a Raiders player in the building was like, yeah, we
(10:29):
don't really know what's going on here, Like we're not
really sure what is happening. And so Pete Carroll's talking
about you know, listen, Max, you know, wanted to leave,
but just you know, his injury was too bad. It
was to this. He's got a you know, Max Crosby's
looking around going a man, I just want to play football,
and I want to play football for a good team,
and I've been battling it out. One of the only
(10:51):
bright spots of the team, a team who, by the way,
took a running back as high in the draft as
they did, and some people look at that and question it,
like the whole thing has in a mess. A full
blown whiff. So when the discussion becomes, hey, you know,
Pete Carroll could be gone after this year. This could
be a one and done. Well, yeah, Like I don't
root for anybody to lose their job. Ever, I'm never
(11:14):
gonna campaign for anybody to lose their job. It's not
my thing. Maybe it's yours, it's not mine. But if
we're basing this on, what sort of positive growth have
you shown? We don't expect you to win a super Bowl,
we don't expect you to be a playoff team, we
don't but have you shown positive growth? The answers no,
(11:34):
and in fact the answer is f no. This is
as bad as it gets. Max Crosby leaving the facility.
Pete's like, yeah, you know, I agree with his decision. Yeah,
because you're probably looking around and going, yeah, I'd like
to get out of here too, Like you know what
(11:54):
we got to get rid of chip Kelly. It's like
the whole thing is a disaster, that whole chip Kelly
reporting on. Chip Kelly doesn't know, you know, what formations
are out there, Like he doesn't know this, he doesn't know,
Like that's Geno Smith, that's people from Geno Smith's side
reporting on that Gino Smith wasn't brought in to do this.
(12:16):
He was brought in because him and Pete Carroll had
a relationship in Seattle, a good relationship, and Gino Smith
played well under Pete Carroll. And he's gotten there and
they got worse. And yes, brock Bauers was injured, and
there's been injuries to the offensive line, but nobody thought
(12:37):
it was going to look this bad. Like there are
certain teams around the NFL who you go, all right,
they at least have a plan, like there's a plan
in place to try and do, like we understand what
the plan is. There was clearly a plan in Chicago,
There was clearly a plan in Jacksonville. There was clearly
a plan in New England. But it doesn't even have
to be good teams. Doesn't have to be good teams.
(13:03):
There was clearly a plan with the Colts. They had
a plan. Unfortunately, everybody got injured and now they pulled
you know, Philip Rivers at a Gettysburg brought him in
there like all right, can can you try and save
the season. But there's the go around the NFL. There
are plans, like teams that have plans, teams that have
an understanding like, hey, this is what we're trying to do.
(13:26):
It's going to take some time. We're hoping we could
get there Carolina. Look at New Orleans. New Orleans is
playing better football right now because they're like, hey, we
have a plan, we understand, Hey, we acknowledge. This was
no acknowledgment going into the year for the Raiders that like, oh,
we're just going to be a two win team. We're
gonna shut down Max Crossby at the end. No, no, no, no,
you thought you'd be way better than this, and you
(13:48):
have failed. They are awful, and Max Crossby finally got
sick of it. It was like, hold on a second,
So I want to play, and you're not letting me
play so that we can get a high draft pick.
I'll know. His knees too injured. He could barely get dude,
his knees been banged up since what week five, like
for months? But now we're gonna shut him down. Nah, now, listen,
(14:11):
you know, we just for you know, for it's for
his health, long term future. Max Crosby's looking around, going, dude,
I'm twenty eight, I'm gonna be thirty soon. I don't.
I don't have time to worry about whether or not
we can figure it out in this draft or not.
That place is a mess. It's a disaster. And Max
Crosby leaving wasn't him just leaving because he wants out
(14:33):
this week and doesn't want to be around anybody this week.
I think Max Crosby's looking around, going dude, I don't
know if this works. I mean, look at the way
Jay Glazer is as connected as anybody, and look at
the way the tweet read out, according to Jay Glazer
that the Raiders want to shut him down the last
two games. Crosby, who has played with injuries for much
(14:56):
of the year Vehetmaly, disagreed and has left the building.
This could lead to qu questions on his future in Vegas,
you think, And the first guy that should be asking
that question is Max Crosby at the Jonas Knox on
X at Jonas knock Show on Instagram and you can
hang out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app.
All right, so we are going to have the usuals
coming up later on. We've got our TGFG Game of
(15:17):
the week. Probably not that difficult to figure it out.
People were actually sending tweets calling their shot and they
were correct. We'll get into that bottom of this hour.
We've also got another edition of Do You Care. Later
on this hour, we're going to close up shop with
another edition of Knox Locks for Week seventeen in the NFL.
All of it is yours here on this two hour extravaganza.
But there's a story and a rumor about a rift
(15:42):
in the NFL. I have one hundred percent buy it,
and I'll tell you why. That's next. Jonas is count
it Today.

Speaker 5 (16:09):
But instead of us telling you how great we are,
here's how Dan Patrick described us when he came on
our show.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated. What are you doing? Were
interrupting our promo? Yeah, he wasn't talking about you. You
took those clips totally of context.
Speaker 5 (16:25):
Oh yeah, Well, after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Let me put this into context. Shut up.
Speaker 5 (16:32):
Yeah, anyway, just listening to the Paully and Tony Fousco
Show on iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, O wherever you get your podcasts.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Yee Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio. By the way, coming up,
we'll call it, I don't know, about ten minutes from now,
we're going to hand out an award on this show.
It's our TGFG Game of the Week in the NFL.
And look, this time of year, there's a lot to
choose from. There's a lot to choose from because there's
(16:59):
a lot of awful teams, bad games, bad matchups. I mean, look,
only fourteen make the playoffs. That means there's a lot
of other teams that are on the outside looking in,
and there's a lot of other teams that are near
the bottom, and two of which are partaking in action
this weekend. I mean, and again this was pretty obvious,
It's pretty if you just looked at the NFL schedule.
(17:21):
But we are going to pay tribute to those two
awful football teams coming up here again a little over
ten minutes from now, in another edition of our TGFG
Game of the Week in the NFL, or thank god
for gambling Game of the week, because if not for gambling,
why would you even watch those games? So that'll be
yours here ten minutes from now. So one of the
teams that's going to be playing later on today and
(17:44):
later on tonight is the Baltimore Ravens. They will be
in Green Bay taking on the Packers eight pm Eastern time. Now.
As Isaac loh Cron had mentioned in the top of
the hour update, Jordan Love is out, Malik will as
we'll start Lamar Jackson report doubtful. Okay, I mean, you know,
(18:04):
you look at that, you go, what else is new?
But what's interesting is that you're starting to see some
things form outside the building there in Baltimore where the
Ravens play are. There's some things that have been that
have been forming. You can see it's starting to inflate
a little bit. And that little object that you see
(18:25):
right outside the Ravens facility, it's called a life raft, right,
because it appears that maybe there's a couple of holes
inside the boat that is the Baltimore Ravens, and maybe
there's some people that are just trying to get out
of there. Just be listening. Hey, not to this ain't
on me. This ain't on me. Look this not on me.
(18:51):
And with the Ravens looking at slim odds at this
point to make the playoffs and win that division in
the AFC, it appears like there are some teams and
some people representing players around certain teams and factions and
clicks inside the building that are just making it known
(19:13):
that maybe this isn't on them, Maybe it's not my
fault that we've been disappointing, because let's be honest here,
and I'm one of them. A lot of people had
the Baltimore Ravens going to the Super Bowl. They have
been one of the most disappointing teams in the league
by far, by far. And while they've had a lot
of injuries and there's been a lot of stuff going on,
(19:35):
and you could argue there's some guys that have not
played their best football, Derek Henry being one of them,
the fact of the matter is Lamar Jackson's not been
healthy and Lamar Jackson's missed a lot of time. And
so I say all that because earlier this week, Mike
Preston of the Baltimore Sun wrote an article and had
(19:59):
the following to say, quote, the breakdown of an NFL
player's body is natural, but Lamar Jackson could help himself.
He doesn't need to be up late at night playing
video games or falling asleep in team meetings. He needs
to train more around the castle instead of only attending
mandatory mini camps where he disappears after one day. Huh boy,
(20:19):
that sure seems specific. He goes on to say, does
Mike Preston a major problem? A lot of it on
the Ravens is that there are team rules and then
there are rules for Jackson. That's why Baltimore practices in
the heat of the afternoon instead of in the morning.
Once the Ravens become critical of Jackson, he becomes more withdrawn.
(20:41):
It's a shame because Jackson isn't a mean spirited person,
just an overgrown kid and an adult's body. Preston then
says it's clear that coach John Harbaugh has become tired
of Jackson, even though he builds him up after every game.
He has to or Jackson will go into his own
self exit. Now that for Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun,
(21:05):
John Harbaugh was asked about these reports a couple of
days ago and had this to say.
Speaker 6 (21:15):
Don't take too much credence and anonymous type sources. So
I don't know where that's coming from. I've never seen
I've never seen that ever. You know that that's that's
not something that that I've ever witnessed. And I'm in
every meeting, so and to speculate, I know how I
feel about it. I'll tell you how I feel. You know,
I'm I'm pretty transparent. All the guys in the building
will tell you. You know, if I have something of conversation,
(21:37):
something that I want to talk to him about, I'm
right up front. So that that's you know, that would
be wrong to say that that's not true. I had
a great conversation with Lamar this morning about a few
things and football and how he's feeling and things like that.
So our relationship is is a plus. So I love him,
always have, always will and uh, I know he's fighting
(21:58):
like crazy to get back. So I'm not as reports
or things that gets said or written or whatever. I
don't really preat you. I don't need anybody speaking for me.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
So John Harbaugh, as expected, pushed back on the anonymous reports.
All right, Now, I'm not saying that this is one gospel.
I'll just put it this way. I have talked to
people who know a little bit more about the situation,
people that are maybe close to the situation, people who
(22:31):
know the columnist who wrote the article, And what I
have been told is that, eh, he's he's pretty connected.
He's not just making stuff up. So whether that came
from John Harbaugh's camp, whether that came from somebody else
inside the team, inside the building who is getting fed
(22:51):
up with Lamarge, whatever it is that came from somewhere,
that wasn't made up out of thin air. And according
to what I've been told, it's not like it's the
furthest thing from the truth. That there is some validity
to what's being said and what was reported and what
(23:12):
was written. It's really specific, dude, Like, I mean, what
do we like I could understand you know, something generic,
something you know in general, you want to paint it
with a broad brush, whatever you want to label it,
like something like, uh, well you know he's uh difficult
to get along with with his teammates. I mean, do
you have examples? Well, no, it's just that it's like, Okay, well,
(23:33):
what does that mean? Or yeah, you know, you know
he's he's he's late to team meetings. Okay, well, like
like how late? How many times? This is up late
at night playing video games, falling asleep in team meetings?
Like this is pretty specific stuff, and the fact that
(23:55):
that's getting out means that somebody wanted it to get out.
The fact that you were hearing that in detail means
that somebody wants you to hear that. He needs to
be at the facility more. You know, they move, training, came,
and practices, he's there, one day, he's gone. The net
like that is stuff from inside the building that was
(24:16):
meant to get out and meant to get public. I'm
not saying it was from John Harbaugh. I'm not saying
it was from somebody close to John Harbaugh. But clearly
somebody knows something and somebody wanted that out there. And look,
I've said it on this show before. Lamar Jackson's one
of my favorite players in the NFL. I love I
love the guy. I root for him to win a
(24:38):
Super Bowl to shut a lot of the narratives down,
all of that stuff. I think he's been fantastic. I
think he's been great for John Harbrough's career, and I
think he extended John Harbaugh's time in Baltimore. People forget
when Lamar Jackson first got there in twenty eighteen, when
he was first there, that you had Ozzie Newsome, John Harbaugh,
(24:59):
Joe Flacco. Ozzie Newson was retiring Joe Flacco. They had
made the decision they were going to move on from him,
and it had been a great run. They won a
Super Bowl together, and there was conversations they were also
going to split with John Harbaugh. He was going to
go find a job elsewhere. They were going to do
it on the up and up because it's a great
organization and it's well run. And then all of a sudden,
(25:20):
Lamar Jackson got in and they went on a heater
and went to the postseason. John Harbaugh got an extension,
Joe Flacco was gone, but Lamar Jackson was the guy,
and John Harbaugh's career in Baltimore was extended because of it.
All of that happened. So I think Lamar Jackson's been
great for his career. But as much as I'd love
Lamar Jackson, ask yourself this, how many times have you
(25:45):
seen a report or heard a report or seen something
on TV or read something that says Lamar Jackson's got
the flu or Lamar Jackson did not practice, or Lamar
Jackson was at practice and then did not return. I mean, look, man,
there was a Monday night game where he just left
the game and went into the bathroom. Like it's just
(26:09):
so when you hear them say, yeah, he needs to
spend more time in the facility train with us, Like
all of that is specific. It's too specific for it
to be nothing. And so the fact that this got public,
the fact that John Harbaugh was asked about it, of
(26:29):
course he's gonna deny it, and he's gonna say, oh,
I don't need people speaking for me, but somebody speaking
for somebody, and that's coming from somewhere. And the way
I heard it, it wasn't like it was just made
up at of thin air. That there's validity to it,
and whether this causes problems long term, whether this creates
some sort of a split between the two, whatever you
(26:49):
want to call it, the fact of the matter is
that feels like people there are fed up with getting
to a certain point and not getting beyond, and they
think a lot of that has to do with the
fact that they've got a guy who's the face of
the franchise who maybe isn't as committed as they'd like
him to be. That's the way I read it. At

(27:53):
about all of that, coming up here in about fifteen
minutes from now. But right now, it is time for

know what this is? How you know that this segment
is having impact? Are thank god for gambling Game of
(28:16):
the Week where we just pay tribute to teams that
are so bad that if you weren't gambling on them,
you wouldn't watch. And there's always a matchup in the
NFL each week. I was having people tweet me and guessing, Hey,
is it going to be the Giants and the Raiders? Absolutely?
And do you know why they qualify combined record of
(28:36):
four and twenty eight The New York Giants and the
Las Vegas Raiders. I mean the Raiders. The best part
of the team. Max Crosby nowhere to be found. He
just left the facility because they're like, you know what,
even though you could probably give it a go on
the need that you've been playing on for weeks and
weeks and weeks, we're gonna send you home and we're
gonna move on with you for the rest of the
year because we want to make sure you're right for
(28:57):
next year. No, no, no, no, at least come out and
be honest, we're tanking and we'd like to have you
as healthy as possible so we can maybe acquire some
more draft capital. That's what this is all about. And
then the New York Giants are out there looking and
they'll be looking for a new head coach. They're trying
to sell everybody on the fact that, oh, you know what,
we got our quarterback of the future, we got a
(29:18):
running back we really like, we feel good about our
draft class. The problem is, your quarterback has been evaluated
for a concussion like thirty five times in his NFL
career and he started like ten to twelve games. This
is a problem. The Raiders are a problem. When you
put two problems together and you throw it on an
NFL schedule, you get the Giants and you get the Raiders.
(29:39):
Two and fourteen, verse two and fourteen. Congratulations to both
your TGFG Game of the week. Thank god for gambling.
Because of not for gambling. Who's watching this craft? I mean,
just think about how many Giants fans We're like, you
know what, man, what do you guys want to do
for the holidays? I don't know, man, Let's go the team. Yeah,
(30:00):
but it's so cold out here, like let's go somewhere. Oh,
you want to go to Vegas. Yeah, let's go to
Vegas to let's go let's go watch our team play
in Vegas. Like, do you know how many people are
gonna be sitting at Mandalay Bay the game will be
kicking off. And I know this and I'll tell you
how I know this because as somebody who has spent
time outside Wrigley Field with tickets to go into Wrigley
(30:21):
Field to watch an awful Cubs team, sitting at Murphy's
bleachers across the way, and you're debating, Hey, should we
go on now? And it's like, ah, no, first pitch
is not for like, you know, ten to fifteen minutes.
That's fine, let's have another drink. And then like twenty
minutes later, it's the bottom of the first and it's like,
should we go on now?
Speaker 4 (30:39):
Nah?
Speaker 2 (30:39):
Nah? Man, just you know, wait a little bit. We're
having so much fun here. And then eventually you do
make your way over to the stadium and you walk
in and you're sitting in the bleachers and the Cubs
are down by eleven and you're like, oh, it's the
fifth We should have just stayed across the street. The
entire time. Do you know how many Raiders fans have
been staying across the street at Mandalay Bay the entire
time because they're like, it beats going in there. I'd
(31:02):
rather lose more money on a double Dolphin slot machine
or lose more money on a kino table than go
in there and watch this awful team trot out another
bad plan year in and year out and try and
sell us on the fact that don't worry about it.
We know what we're doing. Long term, No, you don't.
(31:22):
And in the short term you're featured on the TGFG
Game of the Week because again, if not for gambling,
who the hell's watching this crab? Jonas Knox Here Fox
Sports Radio, brought to you by the original Louisiana Hot Sauce.
It's the perfect balance of peppers, vinegar and salt, wings, nachos, burgers.
I recommend clam chowder. By the way, hit any tailgate
(31:44):
food with the bold, handcrafted flavor of the original Louisiana
Hot Sauce. That's Louisiana Hot. Buy you some, all right,
it's coming up next here. Speaking of traditions, you are
force fed storylines through the world of sports all week long.
We're gonna tell you how you should really about him.
It's another edition of do You Caren It's yours right
here on FSR Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. Coming up
(32:08):
top of next hour, we'll caught a little over fifteen
minutes from now. Tis the season, and you know what,
it's a glorious one in the world of football, despite
what anybody's trying to tell you otherwise. We'll get into
that for you again coming up here a little over
fifteen minutes from now, as we take in the final
quarter of the Pinstripe Bowl involving two preseason top four
(32:32):
teams in Penn State and Clemson. Always fun stuff to
play these games at a baseball stadium, especially when it's
an exhibition. That's fun, all right. So we will have
more conversation about tis being the season in the world
of football coming up here fifteen minutes from now. But
right now, it is time for a weekly tradition we
have on this show where we tell the brutal truth
(32:53):
about several storylines you've been force fed over the past
several days from many people in the media. It's time
for this.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
There are so many stories in the world of sports
and most of them are a complete waste of time.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
DMZ reports. Let's get kinky.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Here's some of the big stories from the last week.
But Jonas, the real question is do you care?
Speaker 2 (33:17):
And for that we turn it over to our executive
producer Bo Benson to find out what the hell people
have been talking about.
Speaker 7 (33:22):
Boh, Yeah, Brown's defensive end, Miles Garrett. He said that
setting the sack record. I believe twenty three sacks in
a single season would be the record. Uh, that's against
Aaron Rodgers this weekend would be special, Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 2 (33:37):
I mean not really. Look, I mean I'd like to
see him do it, But who cares who you set
the record against? You know what I mean? Like, like,
what does it matter? It also would be kind of
interesting if he did it against Aaron Rodgers and you
know it was Michael Strahan who did it against you know,
Brett farre And then you know it was TJ. Watt
who set the record or tied the record years. It's
(33:58):
just like there's Look, Miles Garrett has been fantastic, He's
been phenomenal as a player. He, like Max Crosby, has
been saddled with playing for a team that's awful, and
an organization that's awful, and yet he's still out there
producing high numbers. I hope he breaks it. I hope
he gets the record. I'd like to see him get
it sooner rather than later. Who doesn't like to see history?
(34:18):
But I couldn't care less who it's again next?
Speaker 7 (34:21):
All right, So this one's a doozy. Bear with me.
The New York Jets rescinded an offer to a Jets
fan to participate in a field goal kicking contest at
halftime of their upcoming game after they discovered that she
was a high school soccer coach and former D one
soccer player. I also believe she mentioned that she was
going to be kicking in honor of her late father,
(34:42):
who was a left long Jets fan. After public outcry,
the team has now decided to allow her to compete
for this prize. Jonas, do you care at all about this?
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Yeah? I think this is your mett. I love it.
It is so on brand for the New York Jets
that I can't even like. You can't even write a
better story. So here's the competition. Who wants to be
a part of it? Somebody gets excited because they're going
to be part of the competition, and then the Jets
take it away and then cave under pressure from the
(35:15):
New York Post or whoever it was that ran the article,
and then ultimately decide, you know what, upon further review,
we're gonna let you kick. Why don't you just do this?
Just give her one hundred thousand dollars, you know what
I mean? Like at this point, give her a hundred
thousand dollars. And also if she does miss the kick,
If she misses the kick, what are you gonna do?
(35:35):
Oh sucks. Guess she's been having to suffer through your
garbage franchise and garbage team for years and years and years,
wanting to pay tribute to a relative who passed away
who was a diehard Jets fan. And then you're gonna
haggle over her eligibility for a kicking contest. How about this,
whatever she does with the kick, cut her a check
(35:55):
for one hundred grand. Feel better about yourself, and stop
wasting people's time on gimmicky stuff just to try and
get him into a stadium when all people want to
do is root for a team that goes to the playoffs.
Speaker 7 (36:06):
Next Joe Burrow gifted his offensive linemen, authentic dinosaur bear
and mammoth fossils for Christmas?
Speaker 2 (36:15):
Do you care?
Speaker 3 (36:18):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Yeah, I love it like you got Like like there's
some quarterbacks that are out there gifting like ATVs and
all that. And I'm not one to criticize anybody's gift, okay,
Like whatever you give somebody is what you give them.
Who cares? Like I'm the type of person where I'll
leave the price tag on because if you give me
a hard time about how much I spent on the gift,
(36:39):
and that shows more about you than them. But like
what are we doing here? Like like what was you
know what I want to know? I'd love to ask
Joe Burrow, Like what else were you considering that didn't
make the list but this one did? Like Like what
other sort of artifact was there? Was it? You know,
the the Abe Lincoln pillow that's on display where you
can go see that was there? You know, something from
(37:01):
Area fifty one where their alien remains that you like?
Like what else was on the like a big foot?
Like was there a mummified bigfoot that was found somewhere
in the in the mountains in Montana? Like what else
was on the list that didn't make the cut that
you thought was secondary to what was it? Bear and
(37:22):
elephant fossils? Like what are we talking about here next?
Speaker 7 (37:26):
A lawyer representing Diego Pavia and other college football players
has cited the NCAA's decision to allow an NBA draft
pick to return to college basketball as a reason that
a federal judge should allow his clients to play in
twenty twenty six and twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
Jonas, do you care? No, I'm so tired of this crap,
Like at this point, I don't care. Why is there
any eligibility? Like what are we doing? Like you know
what I want? I want? I just want to see,
you know, somebody play. I want to open up next
year on Labor Day for college football's opening weekend, and
I want some guy who's like thirty two, Like why not?
Because it used to be back in the day that
(38:02):
like a guy would go on his mission and then
come back and play. Or you had like a Brandon
Weedon or a Chris Wanky who got into the NFL
and they were drafted at twenty seven. Like at this point,
let's just go all the way with this stuff. Anybody
got some eligibility out there. Anybody left who in their
forties and fifties has eligibility left. If you can play
right guard or right tackle, or even throw the football
(38:23):
a little bit, come try out for our.
Speaker 7 (38:25):
Team next Clemson, Ady graham Neth said the Dabo Sweeney
sang a Frank Sinhutra song to Yankees' president Randy Levine
in order to display his interest in the Clemson Tigers
playing in the Penstride Bowl. Jonas, do you care?
Speaker 2 (38:39):
Oh yeah, boy boy, I love this. I love it boy?
How the mighty have fallen? This is I mean, like
we're talking about a national champion here, and you've got
to like serenade somebody to try and get them to
take you as one of the participants in their bowl game.
Like what is this is like the movie The Wrestler
where Mickey Rourke's like putting on his tape in a
(39:02):
school somewhere, some elementary school. And this was a guy
that played big Arenas. It's kind of sad, it's kind
of depressing, but you know what, hey, it beats not
having football, so at least we went in that regard.
Speaker 7 (39:13):
Next, both of last year's number one seeds in the
NFL have been eliminated from playoff contention this year, Jonas,
do you care?
Speaker 2 (39:21):
Yeah, I mean, look, it is a weird it's a
weird year for the NFL. Everything's sort of up in
the air. And look, you know how there's a lot
of surprises because there's so many coaches that are up
for Coach of the Year. Like that's another indication, much
like we talked about opening up the show where you
had preseason top five teams who are playing in the
Pinstripe Bowl, that maybe we don't know what the hell
we're talking about going into seasons, and that's why they
(39:43):
shape up the way they are. The fact that you've
got so many candidates that are up for Coach of
the Year, and you could make a legitimate case for
all of them. You can make a legitimate case for
Kyle Shanahan, you can make a legitimate case for Rabel,
Ben Johnson, Dave Canalis, so many coaches out there, Liam Cohenes,
so many coaches out there, and all that is telling
(40:05):
you is that they are coaches of teams that were
terrible and that we're thought to be not anywhere as
good as what this year has turned out to be.
It also lets you know that they're probably gonna be
two or three of those. They're gonna look like this
year's Washington Commanders. So enjoy why you can enjoy the
ride while you got it, because when the ride ends,
(40:25):
it's gonna look a lot like what Washington looks like
this year. And that's how things are going to play
out for most of those teams coming up in twenty
twenty six. But they is what it is, man, that's
the NFL. They wanted parody and they got it. Jonas
Knox here on Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knocks
on x at Jonas Knox Show on Instagram, and you
can hang out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app.
(40:48):
And coming up next, tis the season in the world
of football, and what a glorious time it is. That's
yours here on FSR. Tis the season in the world
of football. Despite what anybody else else wants to tell you,
we'll get into that for you coming up here in
just a couple of moments from now, Jonas Knox Fox
Sports Radio. You can listen to us as always on
the iHeartRadio app. You can find us on hundreds of
(41:12):
affiliates all across the country, and wherever you are, including
if you're listening on the podcast, we appreciate you doing
so as well, and we appreciate you making making us
a part of your weekend here middle of a holiday week,
lots going on Christmas, New Year's but we will take
you live here until four pm Eastern time, one o'clock Pacific,
(41:34):
and yeah, like in the midst of all of the
changing landscape that is college football. And I'm going to
just speak to college football because that's the timeframe we're in.
I know, college basketball is going on, We've got plenty
of time to get into that. We got March Madness,
NCAA Tournament, all that stuff. But one of the things
that's happened in college football is that there's been so
(41:54):
many new versions of college football that have been brought
in that it's kind of nice to get the reminders,
Like it's kind of nice to get the reminders of
what things were, you know, simpler times. That's a bull
season is simpler times, you know, like the college football
Playoff is, it's great, it's fun.
Speaker 4 (42:17):
You know.
Speaker 2 (42:17):
By the way, we've got details on how you can
potentially win some money predicting the college football Playoff I'm
gonna get to here in a couple of moments. But
although even though college football is fun and it's and
it's you know, the playoff is great and you've got
the best of the best and all of that, and
there's really great storylines. Is going to be some great
games hopefully, and we've got the on site games and
(42:38):
I talked about it last week, the College Football Playoff.
My favorite part of it through one year plus of
the College Football Playoff are the home playoff games. Like
the home atmosphere for the playoff games are awesome. Like
that's a great twist wrinkle change to college football that
I really really enjoy. But like, you know, the NIL,
(43:01):
the transfer portal, Like there's a lot of stuff out
there that's just like what I mean, Look, you know,
Shroonmore tried his best to get us to look the
other way, you know, on some of the NIL stuff,
and you know, like and listen, he did a great job.
Like it kept our attention for like forty eight hours
at least. But like, there's a lot of stuff that's
just not, in my opinion, very fun to cover when
(43:24):
it comes to college football. But one of the things
that is enjoyable. That is kind of nice. Are just
like these random bowl games in the middle of the day,
you know what I mean, like just a generic sponsor
just kind of kind of thrown into just the middle
of your afternoon. You're just walking around going, hey, you know,
the got the week off, got the day off, you know,
(43:46):
trying to pick the kids up, you know, they're home
from school and all this stuff. But hey, what do
you know, it's the Dollar Tree Bowl. That's just fun.
Like that's a just simpler times. And look, you don't
know who these guys are that are playing. I get
all that. I get it. You know, maybe there's you know,
somebody's already in the portal. There's a you know, an
(44:07):
interim coach, or they're they're you know, like half assing it.
You're gonna have somebody, you know, dress up as a
pop tart and jump out of a pop till. Like,
I get all that. And there's a lot of people
who are gonna tell you, well, it's just not like
what it used to be. You know, it's just not
the same. You know, players don't care as much, so
what it's an exhibition? What does it matter? I mean?
(44:31):
And guess what you want to gamble on it, Go
right ahead. What are you gambling on? I have no idea.
You don't even know who some of these guys are.
It's like the NFL preseason. How do I know? I
bet on the NFL preseason Hall of Fame game? Love it?
Oh my god. You know how distraughta was when the
Hall of Fame game was going on that year. I
think I think the Packers were playing and the field
(44:53):
melted and Canton because it was so hot. Oh it
was great. That was great theater. I mean, that's that's
one of the highlights of that game. You had a
game a couple of years ago. They didn't even finish it.
There was a lightning delay. It's like, let's get out
of here. I don't want to deal with they Like,
I'm not gonna get struck by lightning for some nickel
and dime team with a bunch of players that aren't
(45:14):
even going to be in the league in three weeks.
Like what are we talking about? But there's something fun
about it. And so college football, and I've said this before,
they do their preseason football. They just wait until after
the regular season. You know, you gotta do it at
some point. And so college football rolls out these random,
meaningless bowl games just kind of whatever some goofy sponsors
(45:38):
middle of the day gives you some like tis this season.
So this is how you know where you're at while
everybody tries to tell you on it it's changing, it's
never going to be the same. And you know, kids
know their value and they know their worth. That's fine.
I know my value and I know my worth too.
And guess what, nothing makes me feel more valuable than
in the middle of the day putting on the TV
(45:59):
and realizing that it's midway through the third quarter of
the seven to eleven Bowl. It's awesome at the Jonas
Knox on x at Jonas Knox Show on Instagram and
again you can hang out with us as always on
the iHeartRadio app. And by the way, feeding off the
success of our college basketball bracket challenge that we do
each March, we decided to do a bracket challenge for
(46:21):
the college football playoff as well too that I mentioned.
With eight teams left standing in college football, it's bracket
challenge time, so check this out. You can compete against
our Fox Sports radio hosts myself included, and against fellow
listeners to see who has the best college football playoff bracket.
So play for your chance to win one thousand dollars.
(46:43):
Who doesn't want one thousand dollars during the holidays? You know,
you know this is not everybody can win the power Ball,
Not everybody can win just that that that insane prize
that was just handed out. But one thousand dollars. Who
does what? One thousand dollars? Here's how you do it.
You visit Fox Sports Radio dot iHeart dot com to register,
get rules, and to fill out your bracket. Entry will
(47:05):
be open until just before kickoff at seven thirty pm
Eastern time on New Year's Eve. Again, fill out your
bracket at Foxsports Radio dot iHeart dot com for your
chance to win one thousand dollars. All right, so we've
got a couple of NFL games that are taking place
later on. We talked a little bit about just the
situation in Baltimore Ravens Packers. I mean, look, Jordan Love's
(47:31):
going to be out, all right, He's still got the concussion.
That's a problem. Okay, so that's not exactly not exactly ideal.
But Malik willis played well, and if we're being honest
here outplayed Caleb Williams for a lot of that game
last Saturday. But then you've got the situation in Baltimore
in which Lamar Jackson was doubtful. I mean, who the
hell knows if he's going to play. I don't. I mean,
(47:53):
at this point, what are we talking about? But you know,
the Baltimore Ravens have been a little bit of a mess,
and so the discussion surrounding Baltimore is always going to
be about like hey, super Bowl, you know, like, hey, hey,
what about the super Bowl? Like can the Ravens win
a super Bowl? Can they win it? With Lamar Jackson.
There's a report that came out from the Baltimore Sun
that says Lamar Jackson play stays up too late, play
(48:15):
video games and he's fallen asleep in meetings and all
this stuff. And I'm seeing the reports and I go,
there's too much detail there for it to not be
somewhat true. Like that clearly came from somebody in the building.
And if that's getting out outside of the building, what
are we talking about inside the building? Like, so clearly
that's a talking point a discussion, Like I don't think
(48:36):
that that stuff just gets made up out of thin
air when it's got that much detail attached to it.
So when it comes to the Baltimore Ravens and the
Green Bay Packers, green Bay's in the playoffs, Baltimore's got
work to do, it's all. But then you got this
other game. And it's interesting because I can speak on
this from being here in southern California. You've got the
Texans at the Chargers. The Chargers are in the playoffs
(49:02):
and that's awesome, and the Houston Texans have been a
really scary team, especially over the past couple of months.
But if this matchup sounds familiar, it's because these teams
met in the postseason last year, and if you remember,
the La Chargers looked like they were about to take
(49:22):
control early on and then all of a sudden, it
was just a meltdown and they looked awful, awful, And
if that seems somewhat familiar, it's because, well, something kind
of similar happening against the Jaguars. You know, like the
Chargers were playing the Jags in the playoffs, so you know,
a couple of years ago, and next thing you know,
(49:43):
the second half kicked off and all of a sudden,
it was just another meltdown, and then they're awful performance,
and then you start to look around and you go.
While the Baltimore Ravens have conversations and thoughts about, hey,
can we win the super Bowl? Can we go to
a super Bowl? The Chargers are just like, hey, could
we just want a playoff game? Like seriously, like let's
(50:03):
just want a playoff game? Like they've gotten to the postseason,
but they find themselves in this spot similar to the
Buffalo Bills, where it's like, man, if we could just
get past that Patrick Mahomes, guy, we got a chance here.
Because the only guy that's been able to do it,
there's been two or actually three. One of them is
not playing anymore, that's Tom Brady. The other two Joe
(50:25):
Burrow's not in the playoffs and Jalen Hurts is in
the NFC. Other than that, nobody's been able to figure
this thing out in the postseason. And so the Bills
and the Chargers find themselves in this spot to where
it's like, man, so he's out, we get a shot here,
and that's all anybody cares about when it comes to
the Chargers, that's it. Like this whole conversation about like, oh,
(50:49):
they're back to the playoffs and Justin Herbert's playing really well,
Like all of that is fun. This is a great
talking point. Yeah, yeah, etc. Etc. We get it, got it,
Thank you appreciate it. Can you want to play? That's
it and then you go from there. So the discussion
surrounding Lamar, Jackson and Baltimore, like, Lamar's won some playoff games.
(51:12):
I think people can point to the home game they
had in the AFC title game, and a lot of
looks Zay Flowers had a bad game, they fell apart,
They were favored in that game, with an opportunity to
go to the Super Bowl. They at home field. They've
had that happen before. But you've seen Lamar show out
in a playoff game. You've seen him win playoff games.
Justin Herbertson another conversation, and the Chargers are another conversation.
(51:34):
And this isn't just a well you know, Jim Harbaughs
here now man Brandon Staley there was that. You can't
blame Brandon Staley anymore. So I think a lot of
that kind of quietly because it's the Chargers doesn't get
talked about a lot, but it's getting talked about locally
because there's a lot of people looking around going man,
Patrick Malmes is out, Joe Burrow's not in. The Bills
aren't what they have been in recent years. There's a
(51:56):
real chance for a wild card team to make a run.
And the two teams that I look at and say
those are the ones that have the most to prove
in doing so are the Bills and the Chargers. So
the Chargers may come out and they may light up
Houston later on today, none of it's going to matter
if they get to the postseason. And it looks like
the last two times Justin Herbert's been in the postseason.
(52:17):
At the Jonas Knox on X at Jonas Knox Show
on Instagram and again you can hang out with us
as always on the iHeart Radio app. All right, so
up next here, there's somebody in the NFL that's being
praised for simply doing their job. Find out who they
(52:38):
are right here on FSR. We don't need to bring
Jonas in. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio coming up, and
we'll call it a little over ten minutes from now.
There's somebody that wanted to be part of the show,
got on the show and then realized I'm not built
for this in the world of football. We'll get into
(52:59):
that for you right here on FSR. By the way,
the great Tim Kats who is the voice of A
five seven e LA Sports, one of our fine affiliates.
Some would call it the Blowtorchan. He's got just tremendous
ideas on how to make the pop Tart Bowl more entertaining.
You throw a pop tart and the toaster team gets
(53:21):
in the red zone, or if a team scores, you know,
then before the pop tart's done, you get one thousand
dollars for each player. If that's the case. There's just
there's things, and I'm with him, there's things you could
do to really spice some of this stuff up. It
would be a lot of fun for everybody involved. And
I think you just got to get creative. You just
got to get creative, especially nowadays, because they're telling you
(53:45):
these games don't matter. It's the playoff that does. So
if you're telling me these games don't matter and it's
just the playoff, at least give me something that I
can care about here. You know, it's like being the
kid at a at a birthday party that's not yours.
You got to give something to him to or else
he's gonna feel left out. So you know, like make
make these bowl games feel like they're part of the conversation,
right Like, let's let's let's get creative with it. I mean,
(54:08):
let's let's get like the you know, the Duke's Mayo
bow Mao bowl stop, you know, making people drink mayonnaise.
You know, how about you give, like, you know, one
of those players an opportunity to throw a jarvit at
a fan that pisses him off. But' drawing that, like,
there are options here that you can do and can
come up with to try and help out the situation here.
I'm just saying, by the way, quick cupdate. Penn State
(54:30):
and Clemson, two preseason top four teams, battling it out
with just over two minutes left in the fourth quarter
there at Yankee Stadium in the Pinstripe Bowl. Hey, what's
your ap top twenty five preseason pole?
Speaker 8 (54:45):
Look like?
Speaker 2 (54:45):
Mind's this? So yeah, what's your postseason top twenty five pole?
Look like? I don't know. They're playing at Yankee Stadium
with a bunch of drunks looking around, going where's Aaron
judge all right. By the way, with the Heart Radio app,

So Dak Prescott, who's what, middless? He's fine. I mean,
Dak's fine, like he you know, he's gonna ultimately he's
gonna walk away from his NFL career being a fourth
(55:29):
round draft pick, and a lot of people have been criticized.
I've always thought Dak Prescott was way better than a
lot of people wanted to to maybe recognize. I think
part of it is he's a Dallas Cowboy. I think
people look at that and go, well, you know, you're
Dallas cowboy, you should be this, and they don't want
to just take a step back and go, oh, you know,
maybe the Cowboys are just kind of mediocre like what
(55:50):
they are. I'm sorry, it's been thirty years since they've
gotten past the second round of the playoffs. But nonetheless,
Dak Prescott's been a really, really really good quarterback in
the NFL. He's had a really good year, all right,
another really good year, and he's been paid accordingly. He
deserves every cent he gets. I like Dak Prescott. I
think I think a lot of teams in the NFL
would be better with Dak Prescott as their quarterback. But
(56:11):
he's the quarterback of the Cowboys, is what it is.
But Dak Prescott, with the Cowboys being eliminated, will be playing,
all right, So I know there's a lot of people wondering, like, hey, Daki,
are are you gonna play? I mean, like, like, how's
this going to go? Is Dak Prescott going to going
to partake in the final games of a Cowboys season
that results in them not going to the postseason?
Speaker 4 (56:33):
Like?
Speaker 2 (56:33):
Is he going to play the New York Giants? Like
is he going to be a part Like? Is he
going to finish out the season on the field. Let's
listen to Dak.
Speaker 9 (56:43):
I'll have some fight back. Again, it depends on how
it comes. What's the purpose, what's the reason? Obviously I
understand being approached about it, but what I was telling,
you know, Clars and the rest of the group was
the conversations we've already had about or for me to play,
and you know, with the season being where it is,
trying to make sure we finished, say what eight eight
and one, that's important, that's important to me, very proud,
(57:04):
a lot of pride in that, and so I want
to go out there and I want to win most importantly,
and me starting, I feel like it gives us the
best chance obviously, and I want to play.
Speaker 2 (57:14):
Why would he not play? Like I'm trying to like that,
This is the part that I that I really don't understand,
Like what are you saving him for the playoffs? Like
why wouldn't he Well, the game doesn't mean anything, Okay,
not every game is the super Bowl, and yeah, not
every not every game means that the playoffs are on
(57:36):
the line. But why wouldn't he play? And it's why
I've made this point before, like I don't know if
people are just so conditioned to guys not playing, because
maybe NBA and the load management and all that stuff
sort of like you know, through a wrench into everybody's
thought on what you should do. That's part of your job.
But why wouldn't he play? Of course he wants to.
(57:58):
Of course, of course he's gonna play. Why do you
think that's Crosby's pissed off because the Raiders are shutting
him down, they're sending him out, so he's like, I'm
out of here, Like I want to play, Like I
want to play, Like we don't have eighty two of
these a year. We don't have one hundred and sixty
two of these a year. We don't know we've got
eighteen of these a year, or seventeen rather eighteen weeks.
(58:21):
We don't get that many opportunities to do this. I'm healthy,
I want to play, but it's like this like, oh hey,
dat's gonna play in week eighty Cool. That would be
like me coming over to my wife one time being like, hey,
guess what, honey, what's that didn't cheat today? Well? I
(58:41):
would hope not. That's kind of your job, that's kind
of your that's what you're expected to do. Like like,
why wouldn't he play? Like this idea that like like
players should be celebrate. Oh you know they're going out
there and they're playing in week eighteen with nothing to
play for. Philip Rivers said it best he's like, look, man,
(59:02):
any like if there's an opportunity to play, like to
be able to do this, Like I'm so excited to
be able to do this, to be able to get this.
Like he's got the right perspective. He was gone for
five years, whether or not he came back because he
wanted to extend the you know, health insurance to his
family and is eleven hundred kids, whatever it is, that's fine,
whatever his motivation are. But like he said, he's like, man,
this is like, what an opportunity we get to play,
(59:25):
because ultimately there's going to be a time where it's
not there anymore, and you're gonna look around going damn.
I'd give anything to be able to go out there
one last time or to be able to be out
there one last time. So Dak Prescott saying, yeah, I mean, look,
I want to play, like I'm gonna yes, And I
would say, like a lot of players probably do want
to play, a lot of players probably do want to
(59:47):
be out there. A lot of players, even though there's
nothing to quote unquote play for, want to be a
part of the action and want to be out there
and still try and play. And some players are playing
for incentives some play. But then you we got other
players that are playing and auditioning for jobs next year
or jobs with that current team or some other team.
So this idea that we should celebrate, you know, Dak
(01:00:10):
Prescott and like what he said, it's like what are
we I mean, what are we talking about here? Like what?
Speaker 4 (01:00:16):
Like?
Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
What course? Of course he's gonna play? Like why wouldn't
he play? Yes, I get it, they're not going to
the postseason, Like, yeah, what are you gonna do? We
want to see what the backup Scott? No, Like he's
your quarterback. He gave him all that money. You'd like
to get some return on your investment. Of course you
want him to play. Of course he should play. Max
(01:00:38):
Crosby's pissed off man. I want to play like I don't.
I don't like I've already been paid. I get like
I want to be out there and I want to
play like that's that's my job. I want to do
my job, like there is something to just do your job,
Like if you do your job like that should be
that should count towards something. And Dak Prescott wants to
(01:00:59):
be out there. He wants to do his job, same
as Max Crosby. This isn't the NBA where guys are
worried about load management. If there was a playoff game,
I could kind of understand it, because hey, you don't
want to keep moalthy all that. But most of these
guys want to be out there, and it's someone insulting
when you say, Nana, no, we're gonna shut them down. No,
I'm here to play. Even if there's nothing to play
(01:01:19):
for in week eighteen, I still want to go out
that and I want to play because I think a
lot of these guys, especially when they get older, recognized, Man,
I don't have that much time left or that many opportunities.
At least, let me go ahead and be out there

knock Show on Instagram. I will post the unedited versions
of all of those on Instagram on the IG stories.
I'll get to that shortly and I'll let you know
as soon as they're up there, so you can go
see for yourself just some of the vulgar language that
(01:03:30):
is used for no reason whatsoever during a holiday week.
One of those had nothing to do with sports whatsoever.
Nothing to do with sports. But again, you can fire
away if you'd like at the Jonas Knox at Jonas
Knock Show on Instagrams where you can find us. All
right now speaking to somebody who wanted to fire away
and be a part of the story. Let's listen to
(01:03:51):
Ryan Kennedy. Are you familiar with who Ryan Kennedy is?
He was the clown. Yeah, he was the clown in
the blue hair at the Lion Steelers game. Heard who
was yelling some stuff at DK Metcalf. DK Metcalf went over,
grabbed his shirt. Apparently it looked like he tried to
throw a punch. But you know, he missed in close range,
(01:04:12):
which I think is the most egregious offense of all this.
That's part of the reason why I think he should
be suspended two games because he missed that close up.
I mean, if you were to connected, I mean, I
think you know we're good here, you know, just kind of,
you know, wash your hands of the whole thing, and
then we move on with our lives. But nonetheless, Ryan Kennedy,
this is a Detroit Lions fan who wanted to be
involved in the action. He wanted to be part of
(01:04:34):
the story. He wanted to be part of the game.
He got to be part of the game. But apparently
he has not liked some of the accusations being made
about what he did or didn't say. To DK Metcalf,
let's tick.
Speaker 8 (01:04:48):
A listen, it is really hard to get me upset.
But there's two things animal abuse racism. Like I get
hot right away, Like I could feel at my face
it's all warm. So I guess I want to be
crystal clear about one thing. I didn't use any racial slurs,
no hate speech. I mean, none of that stuffed at
(01:05:09):
the game. Never fifteen year season ticket holder for the Lions.
I've never done that at all. So to Kaelin, if
you're watching this, man, if you could just say that, please, Like,
my family's getting threats.
Speaker 2 (01:05:22):
And stuff and it's not cool.
Speaker 8 (01:05:24):
So whether you said that or not, I'm sure you
didn't want that to happen to the family. Even if
you did, Like I forgive you man, that's all I got.
Go lions.
Speaker 2 (01:05:36):
What a tool? Wait a second. So you want to
be a part of the story. You want to be
in on the action. You want to be a part
like you want to be in like you got You
need your fame, you want you want to be on camera.
You want to get a player's attention. All right, you're
you're wearing blue hair, just randomly blue hair, just a
bitny color. You just want to pick like a bright
(01:05:58):
blue wig. You want to be a part of the action,
and you want to celebrate. And then all of a sudden,
some stuff starts to come out that may or may
not impact your family. And now, no, no, no, we
got to slow things down, everybody, we gotta stop. No,
this is what happens. This is part of it. It's
like people who road rage and then get beat up
(01:06:18):
in a stoplight, Like this is what happens. Like you
want to get somewhere fast, you want to cut somebody off,
you want to throw up a finger, you want to
yell out some stuff, and all of a sudden you
get to a stoplight. Next thing you know, you get
slapped up, put to sleep and get embarrassed on social media,
and it's like, well what was that about. Listen. Well know,
maybe you didn't deserve to be hitting the face, Maybe
(01:06:39):
you didn't deserve to be slapped and beat up in
a stop light. Maybe that was a bit much, But
you know what, you kind of led to it. You
kind of led to this. This is part of it.
Like he wanted to be a part of the story.
He wanted to be part like he had that like
all the attention needed, all of that stuff. There was
all these videos and look, do I think he said
(01:07:01):
anything racial to DK Metcalf? Probably not. No, there was
enough people around. There was enough people there, either in
the stands or security guard. If he would have said
something like that, they would have heard it. Somebody would
have made a scene about it, and it would have
become more public. There's been videos released of it, whatnot.
But this is what happens when you put yourself in
(01:07:24):
bad situations. Even if you didn't do something, you're in
this situation. You're to be held accountable. What do they
always tell you? Nothing good happens after two am. It's like,
even if you're not meaning to do anything, or even
if you didn't do anything, you can't you find yourself
in a circumstance that is awful, and you're having to
speak on it. It's like, well, I didn't do anything,
(01:07:45):
Well you kind of did. You put yourself on that spot.
And when you take the control away from you and
put it in somebody else's hands, that's how this goes.
So this idea, they're like, well, you know, I mean,
you know it's affecting my family were getting threats for Okay,
So all of that is known as a possibility if
(01:08:07):
you want to be involved in the story, Like, if
you want to be involved in the story, if you
want to be in the arena, so to speak, this
is the stuff that comes along with it, Like my
family's getting harassed. You were harassing a player. Yeah, but
I wasn't using racial slurs. Okay, So maybe there's people
not using racial slurs against your family, But why did
(01:08:28):
you even involve them? And you involved them because you
involved yourself. You wanted to be a part of the story.
So this whole and it's not to say that DK Metcalf,
you know, handled it the right way. Look, he probably
get handled it better. I think we all acknowledge that
probably didn't need to go over probably didn't need to
go over there and you know, rough up the guy
and do everything that he did. And now he's suspended
(01:08:49):
for two games, and they could avoid forty five million
dollars of his contract if they wanted to, and all like, Listen,
DK Metcalf of anybody knows, I made a mistake, didn't
handle that the right way. It could end up costs
to me over forty million dollars. That sucks, that's bad.
He's also suspended for two games to close out the year,
and he's kind of an important piece of the offense,
(01:09:10):
So we get it. Listen, what he did, totally understood,
got it, made a mistake, did not handle it the
right way. But this goof coming out afterwards getting choked
up talking about how important his family was. Dude, do
you not realize that you're representing your family every step
of the way, including when you wear a blue wig
(01:09:34):
and start yelling at players while sitting from the stands.
I personally don't get it. I can understand, like a teenager,
somebody like that yelling at a player or whatever because
they don't know any better.
Speaker 4 (01:09:44):
I did.
Speaker 2 (01:09:45):
I was a teenager. I did dumb stuff. I remember,
you know, people coming out of a movie theater when
I was like sixteen years old and throwing water balloons
at him from the parking structure. Not great, but I
did it. And then all those years later. You know,
about a year ago, I'm driving down the road and
teenager egged my truck let him see them. They popped
up behind a street sign. By the time I turned around,
they're already gone. But you know what I thought, I
(01:10:06):
can't get upset because I acted like a tool too,
and this guy acted like a tool. So you can't
come back afterwards and then bitch and moan and get
emotional and cry because people are involving your family. Dude,
you involve yourself. You involve your family. It didn't have
to happen. You could have just sat there like everybody
else and watched the game and be entertained by the
people that are actually playing in it or actually on
(01:10:29):
the sidelines. But you wanted to involve yourself, So don't
come back afterwards with the law offices of bitch and
moan and complain about how your family's being treated afterwards. Stop.
You had your chance. You blew it. You made a
fool of yourself. You should probably steer clear of the
stadium and stay out of the spotlight if you don't
like the smoke that comes along with it. At the

(01:12:17):
stories at Jonas Knox Show. I'm also going to post
the insulting tweets, you know, all the all the stuff
that was sent in earlier. There's some really rude ones
even during the holiday week. Those will go up there
so you can't see all of that stuff if you
can go to my Instagram page at Jonas Knox Show
as well too. Right now, though, it is time to
get to the week seventeen edition of a little something
(01:12:40):
we do called this lock It, Let's lotch It Knox
locks all right, So let's get back to last week first.
All right, we got to go back before we can
go forward. Another under underperforming week. I'm not happy about it.
I'm gonna be honest with you. This is back to
back losing weeks. Not what we want when we're trying
(01:13:02):
to get to and stay above five hundred for the season,
which is really the goal. I just I don't want
to finish five hundred. I don't want to finish below
five hundred. I'm looking to finish above five hundred. And
so last week we were fortunate. We had the Bears
minus one against the Packers. One of the great games
and great finishes you will see anywhere in the NFL.
(01:13:23):
It went our way. We were feeling really good about things,
A want to no start, very good, very good. For
some reason, I thought it was wise to take the
New York Jets plus six and a half. I'm not
exactly sure why I thought that was wise, because I
looked at New Orleans and I thought, why would New
Orleans be favored by six and a half over anybody?
New Orleans shouldn't be favored by six and a half
(01:13:45):
over a dead body. And for some reason, the dead
body at this point would probably be favored over the
New York Jets. It is awful. The Jets are a circus.
I bet on that circus and I lost. And then
you know, I picked a bad week to defend and
take the Denver Broncos minus three, a real bad week
because the Jacksonville Jaguars shut me the hell up. They
(01:14:05):
embarrass the Denver Broncos on the road. And so because
of that a one and two week. That makes two
weeks in a row we've gone one in two. That
brings our overall season record to twenty four twenty two
and two. So if it feels like things are unraveling
at the worst possible time this year for Knox Locks,
(01:14:26):
you are one hundred percent correct that is the case.
But we've got two weeks to play within the regular season.
We've got this week and then we've got Week eighteen.
So without further ado, it's time Steelers in Browns. I'm
gonna take Pittsburgh. I will take the Pittsburgh Steelers here. Look,
I know that Miles Garrett's looking to do break the record.
(01:14:46):
I get all that. And it's been hard betting on
the Pittsburgh Steelers this year just because one week they
look the part, the next week they don't. You're not
quite sure what you're gonna get from the offense from
time to time. But if we actually take a step
back and Pittsburgh, following the back to back losses to
the Bears and the Bills, the Steelers have won three straight,
(01:15:07):
including at Baltimore and at Detroit. They're going to Cleveland
the Browns. While the defense has played well, I'm not
really sure what the hell the plan is on offense.
I personally think Kevin Stefanski's looking around, going just get
me out of here, please fire me something like I
gotta go. I gotta go somewhere where I could actually
coach up and be a part of an organization that
(01:15:29):
knows what the hell they're doing. Deshaun Watson's on the
pup list. I think the Steelers, though, keep it rolling.
I think Pittsburgh minus three at Cleveland is the play.
I'm gonna roll with the Steelers, Eagles and Bills. I'm
gonna take Buffalo in this spot. And this is one
of those lines that I look at and I go, well,
that's kind of interesting, like, like what are we saying
(01:15:52):
when we see that the Buffalo Bills are just a
one point favorite hosting the Philadelphia Eagles because I know
that Philadelphia has played better late, but I would also
argue that the Bills have as well too. And again
I say all that, I say all that with full
acknowledgment that while the Bills have one four straight, last
week against Cleveland was not great. It was not great.
(01:16:13):
I felt like a little bit of a letdown spot
coming off the big divisional win against the New England
Patriots the week before. But in this case, I'm gonna
roll with the home team. I think the Bills are
a real sleeper to make a run at this thing.
I think this could be the year no Patrick Mahomes
in the playoffs to worry about. I'm gonna take Buffalo
minus a point at home. I'm not crazy about it,
(01:16:34):
but I'll take the Bills minus want Rams at Falcons. Alright,
I'm gonna take the Rams here. Look, I don't like
the fact that it's seven and a half. I don't
like that point spread. That feels like a lot of points.
It feels like a lot of points to go on
the road. With all that, Like, I'm not crazy about it.
It's less an ideal, but I look at it like this.
(01:16:56):
The one thing the La Rams do is they seeming
always bounced back from an inexplicable loss. Like when there's
a loss that the Rams have, especially just this year,
they come back and they find a way to respond.
They lost to the Eagles earlier this year, game they
should have won. Following week, beat the Indianapolis Colts. They
(01:17:20):
lost to the Niners on a short week at home
in overtime with the Niners completely riddled with injuries. Remember
Mac Jones was out there going through full body cramps,
Guy had Riga mortis in the third quarter, and somehow
won a game at SOFI. And what did the Rams do?
The next week? Won at Baltimore. They lost to Carolina
on the road, inexplicably, came back annihilated Arizona afterwards. I
(01:17:44):
think it plays out just like that. And furthermore, you're
basically getting a week and a half off because they
played on Thursday, and then they come back all the
way eleven days later. This late in the season, it
almost feels like a bye week for the Ram So
they were exposed. They lost a heartbreaker on the road
to Seattle. Now they go on the road again to
(01:18:06):
play the Atlanta Falcons, who have got nothing to play for.
I think this plays into the advantage of the La Rams.
I'm gonna take the Rams. I'm not crazy about the
points on Monday Night. I don't like the fact that
it's seven and a half points on the road. Something
tells you that half points gonna come back to bite
me in the ass. But nonetheless, I like the bounce
back spot for the La Rams. Here give me the
Rams Monday Night at the Falcons minus seven and a
(01:18:27):
half and that is your Week seventeen edition of Knox Knocks.
Now here's what we're hoping for, Okay, because if you're
keeping score, we're sitting at two games above five hundred.
All we need is like a two to one week.
If we could go three and ohero, I mean, I'll
(01:18:47):
basically just mail it in next week because Week eighteen,
who the hell knows who's gonna play. There's gonna be teams,
you know, tanking teams that are you know, saving up
for the playoffs. Like, there's all sorts of stuff that
could happen. This is a critical week Forox Locks. So
we can somehow, some way go three and Ohero or
potentially two and one. It's gonna set ourselves up for

We're gonna be back next year to kick off twenty
twenty six here on The Jonas Knock Show. And for

believe that he would do that during a holiday week,
but maybe he is one of those guys that's running
burner accounts on social media. But nonetheless, it's been a
fun year, we roll on. Next year, it's a Jonas
NOx Show right here on Fox Sports Radio. Shonas son
of a Bitch,
