Speaker 1 (00:01):
I have to stop. Jonas Knocks. You thought you knew me.
You didn't know a thing about me. He's crazier than
air else wrecked that guy, Jonas Knocks.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
You heard me, Braden, Some darkness is lighting up your
speakers to establish an alibi for the day. No Live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Here's Jonas Knox.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Y Okay, I'll be part of this world.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
So it's a rarity. We've got ourselves a rarity in
the NFL to where there are no wrong answers. No
wrong answers is to a current situation in the league.
Who will get into that for you? Coming up here
in just a couple of moments from now, Jonas Knox,
Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to this show as
always on the iHeartRadio app. You can find us on

(01:09):
hundreds of affiliates all across the country and wherever you
are making us a part of your Saturday morning into
the afternoon. We appreciate you doing so, as we take
you all the way up until four pm Eastern time,
one o'clock Pacific. So here's the great thing about conspiracy theories,
all right, because there's a lot of people who they
go conspiracy theory, and they'll use it to dismiss you know. Yeah,

(01:32):
they'll just yell, you know, you're just a kook. Uh,
You're just that's just crazy talk. But like the good
thing about conspiracy theories is that there's no wrong answer,
all right. Like, when you're trying to figure out something
that's got no answer that nobody can understand, you can
throw out all sorts of guesses and nobody's wrong because

(01:56):
nobody knows. Like the JFK assassination and whether or not
those you know, files did anything for anybody. I think
a lot of people came away from that going maybe, yeah,
but I kind of feel like, you know, but for
decades that kept everybody guessed like maybe what is it?
Who's involved? Is it? They go hear these theories lone Gunman,

(02:18):
all these other things that go like, you could go
to any conspiracy theory you want. And the beauty of
conspiracy theories is that whatever your theory is and whatever
my theory are, they could both be right. One could
be right, they could both be who knows. It's really

(02:40):
a no lose situation for everybody involved. And we have
got ourselves a no lose situation in the NFL and
the no lose situation is why the hell the Dallas
Cowboys have not gotten the contract extension done for Michael Parsons.
Why why Michaeh Parsons goes to social media writes at

(03:08):
a big long statement requesting a trade. Doesn't want to
be a cowboy anymore, doesn't want to do that. I mean,
look on the surface, you look at it, you go, Okay,
Miles Garrett did the same thing. Terry mclaurin's doing the
same thing. Brandon Ayuk did the same thing. Like we've
seen this before, We've been down this road before. Apparently

(03:34):
him and Jerry Jones had a conversation back in March.
They thought they had some sort of an agreement to
a deal. As it turns out they didn't really talk
with Michah Parson's agent about the deal, and then still
haven't talked to Michaeh Parson's agent about the deal. And

(03:55):
Michaeh Parsons is like having to answer questions at training
camp up in Snart and Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones
are telling you everything that's wrong with paying It's like
the whole thing is a little stray, even for the Cowboys.
Even for the Cowboys, the whole thing's a little strange.
No communication. Adam Schefterer had a report earlier this week

(04:17):
talking about, well, you know, I'd say they're really far apart,
in fact, probably further apart than they were months ago.
And Jane Slater, who does a great job covering the
Cowboys on NFL Network, broke down just the timeline of
things that she was hearing and basically, there's been no discussion,
there's been no negotiation. They haven't reached out to his agent.

(04:40):
Jerry Jones and Michael Parsons had one conversation earlier this
off and that was it, and other than that, nothing
going on. Cowboys players are like, what's with you know,
ceedee lamb saying, what's with the extra curriculars? Let's just
get the deal. And so this is one of those
situations where you're like, all right, everybody agrees on one thing.

(05:05):
They need to get this deal done, all right. I
mean they don't have to, Like, technically speaking, he's got
you know, twenty four million dollars in change that he
that he's gonna play for this year. They could just
franchise him the next year and then do it again
in the year after that, they don't actually have to
pay him. But the question is why why is this
taken so long? And since nobody else has come up

(05:29):
with the correct answer to this, because nobody can figure
out why it's taken so long. Because I'm with you
and everybody else listening or anybody else that's you know,
cruising around thinking about the story or talking about the
story on TV, we all are in agreement on this.
They should have gotten it done, and they should have
gotten it done a long ass time ago. This is

(05:51):
a no brainer. If there were no brainers. If you
wanted to push back on Dak Prescott getting the money
he got, I didn't. I knew that where that was
going to go. You could do a lot worse in
the NFL than Dak Prescott, despite what some hot take
artists might tell you. But if you wanted to push
back against Dak Prescott and say, okay, well he's this

(06:14):
as far as quarterback rankings, I would understand. If you
wanted to push back again, ceedee Lamb, I would get it.
Why would you want to invest that much money in
a wide receiver? You can just get him in the draft,
Like I get it. I think they both should have
been paid. But I can understand you pushing back. There
is nobody who tells you, oh, I'm not giving Micah
Parsons that kind of money unless maybe he's just a

(06:40):
giant pain in the ass behind the scenes. Because other
than that, I can't figure it out. And this isn't
something that is just thought up out of nowhere because
we got to talk about it to check a box
because it's the Cowboys. I've listened closely enough to either

(07:03):
Fox Sports Radio or other places over the past couple
of years. You've heard people kind of mention this a
little bit. All right, You've you've heard it come out
a little bit. Albert Breer was the first one to
kind of make mention of this, and he did it
I think a year ago maybe, and Albert Breer was
talking to us on Fox Sports Radio and just saying, yeah,

(07:23):
you know, Mike has kind of rubbed people the wrong
way behind the scenes, like he's just kind of you know, comments,
he's made, things that he's done have not sat well
with some people behind the scenes, whether it be coaches
and other teammates. You remember him and Malie Cooker had
like a back and forth Malie Cooker was saying things
along the lines of, yeah, you know, maybe just you know,

(07:44):
less focus on the podcast, more focus on this. So
kind of had a little dust up, a little back
and forth. I think that was last offseason. Jane Slater
even pointed out that the initial reason for the conversation
between Jerry Jones and Myah Parsons was about a leadership role.
That there have been discussions in the past about Micah

(08:06):
Parsons and how he is in the locker room and
how it's received by people there in Dallas, and that yeah,
he's made progress on that, but there's some people who
maybe feel that this is because he's trying to get
a contract and then he's just going to go back
to his old ways. That's my best guess, because other

(08:27):
than that, none of it makes sense. None of it.
You have got maybe the best at his position in
his prime, and you have an opportunity to get a
deal done, and everybody tells you pay your own reward,

(08:48):
your own you like you're looking to draft guys. He's
produced with flying colors, Then what's the issue? And not
even just why he hasn't been paid, Why has there
been no conversation about it, no discussion whatsoever. And my
best guess, because much like a lot of conspiracy theories,

(09:11):
my guess is as good as yours, is this. I
think Micah Parsons has probably been a little bit of
a pain in the ass behind the scenes. And I
think the wait and see approach is the Dallas Cowboy
saying nope, nope, nope, we got to know that we're
investing this money in the right place, not from an

(09:34):
on the field standpoint, but from an off the field standpoint,
because maybe things behind the scenes have been way worse
than anybody let on and maybe that's part of the
reason for the hesitation from the Dallas Cowboys, because other
than that, none of this makes sense, none of it.

(09:56):
Every single team in the NFL would love this problem. Hey,
we got this guy at a premiere position who wants
to be here, deserves to be paid, has produced. We
would just get it done like there would be no discussion.
We would have done it months ago and saved ourselves

(10:18):
some money. So why the wait. And if it's not
just your as I call it, the fashionably late tax
that the Dallas Cowboys like to pay so they're in
the headlines, it's got to be this because on the field,
there's no doubt. Apparently off the field there's some real doubt.
Otherwise you'd at least have had a conversation with his

(10:39):
agent at some point this offseason at the Jonas Knocks
on X at the Jonas Knox on X and you
can hang out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app.
By the way, you can follow us on Instagram as
well too. At Jonas Knox Show. We like to post
clips from the show, clips from two pros and a
Cup of Joe during the course of the week and

(11:00):
in the IG stories later on. All the insults, all
the rude, inappropriate comments will be posted in the IG
stories coming up later on. That'll be yours here. We
are going to take you all the way up until
four pm Eastern time, one o'clock Pacific. It's a two
hour extravaganza. We've got another edition of Do You Care.
We've also got the scraps, and apparently we've got news

(11:23):
in the world of sports. And the big part of
that news is the person not involved. I'll tell you
who they are. That's next, without a doubt.

Hey, we're Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to seven pm Eastern.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
But here's the thing. We never have enough time to
get to everything we want to get.

Speaker 5 (12:04):
To, and that's why we have a brand new podcast
called over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun
in our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for. Yeah, you blubber list name in me. Well
you know what it's called over promise. You should be
good at it because you've been over promising women for years. Well,
it's a Covino and Rich after show, and we want

(12:26):
you to be a part of it. We're gonna be
talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk life
and relationships, and if Rich and I are arguing about
something or we didn't have enough time, it will continue
on our after show called over Promised.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out over promised and also uncensored by
the way, so maybe we'll go at it even a
little harder. It's gonna be the best after show podcast
of all time.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
There you go, over promising. Remember you could see on YouTube,
but definitely join us. Listen over Promised with Cavino and
Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you
get your podcasts.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio. Coming up in a little
over ten minutes from now. This is proof. This is
proof of the impact that somebody has had on the
world of football. We have got actual proof that'll be

(13:20):
yours here again, coming up a little over ten minutes
from now. So the news came out earlier today that
Luka Doncic signed a three year, one hundred and sixty
five million dollar extension with the Lakers, and so you've
got the breaking news and the this and that's uh,
you know, he's he's committed. The era has started, and

(13:42):
it's all that, you know, just a congratulations. That's a
hell of a lot of money. And the Dallas Mavericks
kind of did him a disservice by you know, trading
him away, thus making him ineligible for the big money
this offseason. But he takes the three year for one
sixty five, there's a player option there, and then a
few years, you know, three four years down the road,

(14:03):
he's in line for potentially like over four hundred million
dollars in a contract. So good for Luca. That's awesome.
And you look at it and you go, well, he's
in shape now, he's lost a ton of weight, and
so now we can go ahead and we can stop,
even though this is going to persist at a certain point,

(14:25):
we can stop focusing on what the Dallas Mavericks are doing. Okay,
don't worry about that reaction. Don't worry about what's happening
in Dallas, because he spent all those years there. We
can stop doing that. All we need to do now
is focus on what is happening on that team, on

(14:45):
that roster, in that locker room, specifically with his teammate
Lebron James, because to me, that's the most fascinating part
of this whole thing. I don't know anybody who thought
that the Laker We're going to make that trade for
Luka Doncic and then not reward him with some sort
of an extension as soon as they possibly could you

(15:10):
don't land somebody of that talent and then just be like,
now we'll let him walk. Remember years ago when the
Dallas Cowboys gave up a first round pick for a
Mariy Cooper, the Raiders were like, look, man, we don't
want to give him a contract after the year. They
give up a first round pick for a mari Cooper
and then they bring him in the second they traded
away a first round pick for a Marii Cooper, they
guaranteed that they were going to sign him to a

(15:30):
long term extension, because why would you have given up
a first round pick for him if you didn't plan
on him being here a while. So the real story
is not the fact that Luca got an extension. Of
course he did. Why wouldn't he, Like, what are we
talking about here? Luca could have showed up next year

(15:53):
looking like lard ass Off, stand by me, and he
would have gotten a contract extension. What are we talking about?
But the story here isn't about him. It's about Lebron again,
because now all the organization has done, all that they've

(16:15):
done is given everything to Luca. Lebron's been here, he's
done all this, he won kind of a championship during COVID.
What if you know, listen, if you want to count it,
that's fine, But he won kind of a championship during
COVID and all that he's been here and the Lakers
this offseason have made it a point and if without

(16:38):
having to say it directly, have said, oh, yeah, your
day's are numbered, buddy, like Lucas the guy recruiting players,
Lucas the guy that's got the long term security. Luca's
been in all the headlines. He's the one at all
the dinners with management, He's the one. And so now

(16:58):
you're going to have somebody, for the first time in
their career have to live in the shoes of everybody
else who he wanted gone throughout the course of his
career because he's always been the focal point, like we
could say whatever we want while you know, when he
got to Miami, Miami was Dwayne Wade's team. Okay, all right,

(17:21):
come on, man, like, let's stop. Everywhere he's gone, he's
been the guy, except now there's somebody younger, there's somebody
the organization wants more. And I gotta be honest with you,
if they got a good enough trade offer, he's got

(17:42):
a no trade clause. We would have to sign off
on it. If they got a good enough trade offer
for Lebron James, I think the Lakers would walk take
the draft capital and whatever came in a return and
be like, sweet, we're all good here. I think the
most interesting part about how this whole thing is going
to play out is Lebron's reaction when he has to

(18:02):
be the other guy and not the guy. So you
hear this sometimes that you know, kids get jealous of
their siblings when they're born, because now, all of a sudden,
they've got to share the attention and share the spotlight.
It's kind of like that. Lebron's never been in this
position before. He's never been in this spot before, and

(18:25):
now he finds himself in this spot because the Lakers
have told him we're good here, Dude, we are good.
You can either come along with us, or you can
choose to wave your no trade clause, or you can
choose to do You picked up your player option, You've
got your money for this year, but this is the

(18:45):
final year. This is the final stop. I would expect
Lebron James comes back pretty motivated and pretty fired up
about the whole thing. But it does make it that
much more interesting of a watch that the guy who's
normally the guy is now the other guy in la
at the Jonas knocks on X at the Jonas knocks
on X. All right, So I do want to give

(19:06):
somebody some credit for at least trying. At least they're trying,
And I think while a lot of people can swim
in the mud with this story and can be really
gross about it, I want to give somebody a little
bit of credit for at least trying, because I don't
know if anybody has noticed this or not. We did
have a Hall of Fame game on Thursday. By the way,

(19:30):
my power rankings are out. I got the Chargers one,
I got Detroit two. So just for anybody that wants
to know power rankings are out, that's where mine are.
But we did have a Hall of Fame game on Thursday.
And this is the last weekend without football for a
long ass time months because you've got preseason games, you've

(19:57):
got the college football season starting in less than a month,
and after that we are clear sailing. We don't have
to worry about anything else. Me you know, baseball playoffs
and stuff, like that coming up, and yeah, we'll pay
attention to that, of course, but you don't have to
worry about anything else other than football for months after

(20:21):
this weekend. But I do have to give the WNBA
credit because they were like, you know what, it's a
going out of business sale. People weren't responding to twenty
five percent off. Why don't we go ahead and make
it seventy five percent off. Let's get people really interested

(20:41):
in walking through the doors. And so in the span
of like four or five days, they've had a wig
fall off on the floor and two dildos be thrown
from the crowd. And I got to tell you, man,
if you want to grab somebody's attention, all right, if
you really want to get somebody looking in the final

(21:03):
weekend before you go out of business until February or
March or whatever the next season starts, this is how
you do it. Now, Not everybody thinks it's so comical
that there was another sex toy thrown on the floor
at a WNBA game, all right, Not everybody thinks it's
the funniest thing in the world. Happened again last night.

(21:25):
Here was Elizabeth Williams of the Chicago Sky discussing the
bright green sex toy that landed on the floor for
a second time in like three days last night. Yeah,
I mean, it's super disrespectful. I don't really get at
the point of it. It's really immature. Whoever's doing it
just needs to grow up, I would agree. Okay, it's

(21:47):
not something I would do, right, but let's have the discussion.
You know, a lot of people are like, hey, we're's
security during all this. I don't know. I mean, instead
of criticizing security, how about you give credit to whoever
brought the thing into the building. I mean, that's some
endurance to hold on to that for all that time

(22:07):
and then launch it like a javelin onto the floor.
I mean, yeah, of course, listen, you could hit somebody
and it could hurt and all that stuff. But at
least they're trying. Most people would just give up. Hey, listen,
we're so far behind in the interest category of this

(22:28):
whole thing. When it comes to people wanting to talk
about her, We're so far behind, Like, let's just give up.
At least somebody's trying. And so they might have gotten
together and they were, you know, kicking the tires on
some ideas and like, hey, what about a promo? No,
I don't know. This is I don't like like what
I don't know. We could you know, like a like
a T shirt cannon and we could do No, it's

(22:50):
already been done. Okay, what about like, uh, I don't know,
like a special bobblehead, like you know, Caitlin's been injured
and all that stuff. We need people to be interested
in this thing, Like what about a bobblehead?

Speaker 6 (23:02):
Nah?

Speaker 1 (23:02):
Just you know, I feel like everybody does that, Like
you get a bobble like you could actually like get
a bobblehead custom made of like the groomsmen in your wedding,
Like it's not really that special anymore. So like they're
kicking around ideas like God, did we paint the court different? Now?
We already tried that. I mean, should we get out
like national coverage and have like you know, ESPN pretend

(23:23):
that they care so much about the league even though
like nobody really does. And then Shane Gillis was on
your network, like and nobody even knew that the person
you referenced wasn't he? Like no, no, God, we tried. Ah,
I got an idea, how about we have somebody's hair
fall off and then have somebody get into the crowd
and throw two dildos of the same color two days apart. Sold,

(23:48):
let's go yeah, oh bits Like, at least they're trying.
At least they're coming up with ideas. You know, a
lot of people in today's climate, they just want to
complain about all right, They just want to complain and
say all the big bad NFL stealing all the headlines.
Oh we can't get any love. It's because of this

(24:08):
or it's because of that. At least at WBA stepped
up with a couple of ideas and said, all right,
you want to zig will zag. Here's a wig and
two dil do's in the span of four or five days.
How about Now? Is it gonna work? Probably not, But
at least they're trying, and you know what, sometimes the

(24:30):
effort is what matters most. At the Jonas Knocks on X.
At the Jonas Knocks On X And by the way,

it's coming up next year. This is a testament to
the job somebody has done in the world of football.
We'll tell you why coming up here on FSR. But

(25:13):
first for all the latest from around the world of sports.
A man who doesn't need to resort to tactics like
wigs and dildos to try and get some attention, way
too sophisticated for that. He's a professional. He's a broadcast professional.
He's your broadcast professional. He's the one and only here, Sir,
Isaac Longborn.

Speaker 7 (25:41):
I mean, how can you talk about stuff like you
were talking about when you have theme music like that?

Speaker 1 (25:45):
Jonas.

Speaker 7 (25:46):
We're actually gonna go live for a second to El Segundo,
where the Lakers are holding a news conference regarding the
three year, one hundred and sixty five million dollar max
contract extension signed earlier today by Luka Dancci on stage
along with Lakers GM Rob Polenka Doncic wearing a blazer

(26:06):
as well as a white shirt underneath. Let's listen into
Polinka for a second.

Speaker 8 (26:11):
A lot of Luca's teammates, Marcus gave Maxi DeAndre that
are here today, just want to let you know how
incredible of a moment this is for us.

Speaker 7 (26:23):
All right, So that's live right now at the Lakers
press conference for Luka Doncic.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
Did he see Lebron? Was Lebron there? Now?

Speaker 7 (26:30):
I was actually wondering about that, and he in the
clip we saw he did not mention Lebron, which I'm
sure a lot of people are going to overly read into,
because hey, why not. Extension kicks in starting with the
season after next. There's a player option for the final
year of the extension in twenty twenty eight, twenty nine,
again a three year, one hundred and sixty five million
dollar max extension. We actually have even more WNBA news

(26:54):
for you, Jonas. Boston Celtics minority owner Steve Pagliuca is
buying the WNB Connecticut Sun and is planning to move
the team to Boston as early as twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
Am. And hey, and the Celtics are green too, so
you're anticipating potential marketing synergy there. I'm just saying, you know, like,
like what's with the neon green. I can understand, like
you want to be able to see that thing in
the dark.

Speaker 7 (27:22):
I can just see the hamster wheel in your brain
turning as we speak.

Speaker 1 (27:26):
Yeah. And by the way, also it should be pointed
out as much as I commend the WNBA for trying
on the last weekend that we don't have football, I
would also say this, when you're throwing that stuff on
the court, wait a minute, Wait a minute.

Speaker 7 (27:39):
So your your conspiracy theory is that that was somehow
an inside job.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
I don't know. I just think I want to give
them credit where credit is due. At least they're trying.
But it's you know, it's the final weekend without football,
so congratulations are getting some headlines. I would just say
to the person and people that are throwing these onto
the court, a waste of a chair, you know what
I mean, Like, I don't know if you ever bought
furniture before, but it's expensive depending on where you go.

(28:07):
And so because if you're not you know, just letting
you know, like I would, I wouldn't just you know,
toss a chair onto the court and just dismiss it
like those are cheap. They're not.

Speaker 7 (28:17):
Ah, Okay, you know what. It took a while, but
I now see where you're going with this. You're talking
about this really authoritatively.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
I'm just saying, man, I've bought furniture before you bought
up a furniture.

Speaker 7 (28:31):
Okay, you're not using air quotes though, Yeah, I just
I just think I.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Think it's important that people really value their belongings, Okay,
And it feels like, you know, those people maybe aren't.
But again, hey, you know, I had not I had
not considered that that.

Speaker 7 (28:48):
It's actually a really astute point and analysis, and I
look forward to checking your subsequent social media mentions. Meanwhile,
right now, the Tampa Bay Rays have a three nothing
lead over the Dodgers, and the top of the sitting
Yandy Diaz is at two home runs bore the Rays,
and the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony in
Canton going on as we speak. Up first was Jared Allen,

(29:10):
followed by Sterling Sharp Eric Allen up there now, and
the last speech will be given by Antonio Gates. But
Jonas the best line of all of the Hall of
Fame speeches so far actually came last night when longtime
reporter Mary K. Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer was
inducted into the Writer's Wing of the Pro Football Hall

(29:30):
of Fame and dropped this little gem one liner.

Speaker 9 (29:34):
Bill Belichick was the first Browns coach I ever covered.
If Bill didn't like something I wrote, he'd call and
yell at me. But now I totally understand why Bill
gave me.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
Such a hard time.

Speaker 9 (29:47):
I was twenty eight at the time, and he just
couldn't relate to a woman that old.

Speaker 7 (29:54):
Mary Kay Cabot Hall of Famer Mary K.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
Cabot from the top rope to you, Oh god, oh
my god. You know what I've never done? Make fun
of somebody who's got a nicer car than me. What's
that supposed to mean? I've never done that, you know
what I mean? Do you make fun of people in
sports all the time? They all of us. But I've

(30:18):
never pulled up to a stop light and seen somebody
in a really nice car and go, oh, here's a
couple of jokes for y'all. Like everybody ripping Belichick, like
like there's something to make fun of him about.

Speaker 7 (30:32):
Well, I will say this, Mary Kay habit in the
Hall of Fame, Bill Belichick, actually not yet in the
Hall of Fame.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
I'll be good friend. You've done a great job, but
has had a great career. But it's not so much
an attack on her. It's all the people that have
made an entire off season about Belichick and his girlfriend
and her age. Like I can understand if they listen,
he's dating somebody younger, and you know she's a four

(31:00):
get it? Like, oh boys and boy, I mean, jeez, Bill,
Like what is and I hope she's got a great personality?
Like it's a rocket? What do we I mean? Come on, Like,
you pull up next to somebody, they've got a five
hundred thousand dollars car. Are you admiring it? Are you

(31:20):
dismissing it? There's a whole other element to this.

Speaker 7 (31:23):
If I'm pulling up to some next to somebody and
they have some gigantic, ginormous truck that probably costs over
one hundred thousand dollars. If the truck is really really
overly big, you wonder why why someone needs a truck
that big? Are they making up for something else? That's
that's just my That's just how I look at things. Mean,

(31:45):
See I always pull up.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
I pull up next to Belichick and the stoplight and
I look over and go, good for you, man. Okay,
well you're you're a decent human being, unlike me, not
as judgmental. Okay, you know what I mean.

Speaker 7 (32:00):
Because we all know nobody in sports, SOCC radio is judgmental.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
No.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
I don't get the infatuation with Belichick and his girlfriend.
I really don't. I can understand if, like, say, Belichick's girlfriend,
you know, like there was video of her assaulting him,
and you're like, God, why is Bill still with her
after all she's done? Why I could I could totally
get they're dating, and so what if he's like four

(32:27):
hundred years older than her, So what? He should be
commended and she should be commended because she's not sitting
there looking at somebody and just using age to dismiss
them automatically, like what happens a lot of times. She's
like no, no, no, I don't care about the number,
or at least not that number. I care about the person,
the human being. And so she wants to get together
with Belichick, and this is you know what it is

(32:48):
too all these people that were proven wrong, that sat
there and made fun of Belichick for his wardrobe and
his fashion on the sidelines. Guy couldn't even put a
challenge flag in his sock without somebody judging him. Oh
nobody else does that? Nice white tube socks Bill, nice
cutoff sleeve shirt Bill. Who dresses this guy? He doesn't
even care about his appearance. And then he shows up

(33:10):
the very next offseason and he has got something from
outer space next to him, and everybody's gonna sit here
in judgment. The guy should be celebrated and they should
wave the sticking around or waiting around for five years
to get into the Hall of Fame. He should be
in the Hall of Fame right now. Greatest coach to
ever do it, greatest rebound of all time, Bill Belichick.

Speaker 7 (33:30):
Wow, that's a very very strong endorsement when you referred
to his lady friend originally as a quote rocket and
secondly as quote something from outer space unquote I praise.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
Out of this world. Out of this world, we should
all be so blessed and lucky. Walk around in sweatpants,
Bill Belichick walked around dressed like a bum that had
passed away three weeks earlier for twenty five years, and
then shows back up in Chapel Hill with that.

Speaker 7 (34:03):
So maybe everybody else therefore is taking the wrong approach
in their pursuit of companionship, is what you're saying.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
Agreed. See, I'm glad we're in agreement. You know what.
You have convinced me. Now you have convinced me. It
took some time, but it worked. It is Jonasknocks here
on Fox Sports Radio at the Jonas Knox at X
at the Jonas Knox at X, and you can hang
out with us as always on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (34:28):
Right.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
So, we are going to get to this story in
the NFL talking about and it's proof that somebody's done
a hell of a job, a hell of a job.
But we need to get to something more important, and
it's something involving something else from out our space and
I'm calling bs from the jump. It's in another edition

(34:50):
of Do You Care? And it's yours right here at FSR.

Speaker 2 (34:52):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio coming off top of next
hour a little over ten minutes from now we are
going to tell you about proof, actual proof that somebody's
done a better job than you even realize in the
world of football. We'll get into that for you again
a little over ten minutes from now. By the way,

(35:27):
you can listen to this show as always on the
iHeartRadio app. We'll also have the mean tweets, the rude
tweets and insults at the Jonas Knox on X and
you can follow along at Jonas Knox Show on IG.
But right now it is time for this.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
There are so many stories in the world of sports,
and most of them are a complete waste of time
DMS reports. Let's get kinky. Here's some of the big
stories from the last week. But Jonas, the real question
is do you care?

Speaker 1 (36:01):
And for that we turn it over to our executive producer,
Patrick Sweeka, who is back in for Bo Benson, who
tested positive for PEDS during the course of the week
and will not be with us here this week. Patrick,
what do we got all right?

Speaker 6 (36:13):
Back in here, guys, Jonas, I got one for you. So,
Drey Hendrickson has ended his holdout and currently is practicing
with the commanders the Bengals right now. I don't know
why I went there, but apparently he's still very unhappy
about new deal negotiations.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
Do you care, Jonas? Yeah, I care. Posses me off
like I sat in support of Trey hendrickson the Cincinnati
Bengals or the Dollar Tree or the ninety nine cent
store of the NFL. They always have been, even though
Bengals fans are sensitive and they don't want to hear that.
And so I'm like, man, this guy's actually going to
hold on to his promise and not show up. He

(36:52):
posted on ig you know, him driving down a road
in Florida, like he's not going to be here, and then,
as it turns out, no, he came back and he's there,
and he's just hoping they did get a deal done.
I'm not gonna It's like he's just promised and told
and said all these things and then ends up just
showing up. Anyways, during training camp, I feel like I
kind of wasted my time supporting the guy. But maybe

(37:15):
they'll get a deal done and it'll all be water.

Speaker 6 (37:17):
Under the bridge next all right, Well, speaking of deal done,
in fact deals done here. MLB trade deadline just passed.
The Minnesota Twins. Jonas had a real deal fire sale.

Speaker 2 (37:28):
Here.

Speaker 6 (37:29):
They built ten of their players that were on the
active roster away.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
Do you care? Yeah? This is uh, I love it.
You don't normally see this, and you don't see it
maybe from the Twins. I mean, look, you got your
usual suspects like the Marlins and the Pirates, who just
basically groom players feel like they have a pretty good
farm system and ultimately just trade them away to continue
with the farm system. But the Twins were like, yeah,

(37:56):
you know what, we're good here. We're not going to compete.
We don't believe that we're actually a World Series team,
so we're just gonna go ahead and get rid of everybody.
I feel bad for Twins fans, but you know what,
tickets will probably be a little cheaper, and you get
the Vikings right around the corner, and they look like
they're gonna be pretty good.

Speaker 6 (38:11):
Next all right, jonas well, we're gonna go to the
NFL for this one. So Christian Wilkins was released by
the Raiders earlier this week. There's a lot of reasons
why he was probably let yo, but apparently a part
of this discourse was that he was apparently trying to
kiss his teammates on the forehead.

Speaker 1 (38:28):
Do you care? Yeah, And I mean, you know, like
if anybody wants to go back and look at some
of his clips from Clemson, he's been known to, uh,
you know, to to grab and go as they say.

Speaker 6 (38:44):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
And you know there's a there's a clip against Ohio
State which is as egregious as it gets. So definitely
some weird behavior exhibited by Christian Wilkins from time to time.
And uh, you know, he was very affectionate with some
guy's forehead in the locker. Kind of strange. Next oh Man,
Well Jonas So.

Speaker 6 (39:04):
Gilbert Arenas earlier this week was also arrested for allegedly
running an underground illegal poker games.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
Do you care? No, I don't care about this specifically
or the Arenas Poker Club. I more care about Kwame
Brown going after him after the story came out, which
is one of the funniest pieces of audio I've heard.
We played it during the course of the week and
maybe the hardest I've ever laughed on the show. It

(39:34):
was wild and now Gilbert Arenas has to wait to
see what the fallout is and hopefully it doesn't turn
into even more trouble.

Speaker 6 (39:39):
Next all right, Well we're gonna go NBA here with
this one, Jones. So the Grizzlies and the Magic they
play each other obviously in the NBA season. Well, here's
a twist. They're playing in Berlin and London there in January.
It's gonna be starting NBA's overseas game tour.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
Now we're going in Europe. Do you care? No, I
couldn't care less. Cares nothing to me. You know, I'm
curious to see what the carry on luggage looks like
for Jahn Morant. I don't know if he's paid attention
over there. You can't exactly bring what you what you
got at home, if you know what I mean. So
hopefully everything works out well for everybody, but I can

(40:17):
assure you those games I will not be watching.

Speaker 6 (40:19):
Next well, hopefully Joe Morantly brings a little squirt guns right, Well.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
I wouldn't do it over there if I were him. Yeah, true?

Speaker 6 (40:30):
All right, Well, next we got so a ring camera
Jonas in Compton apparently caught a strangey humanoid figure on camera.
The owner of said ring camera claims it's an alien Jonas.

Speaker 1 (40:43):
Do you care?

Speaker 8 (40:44):
All right?

Speaker 1 (40:45):
Here's why I care, because I watched the video they're
calling it a strange humanoid and was caught on camera
and Compton like, why didn't you just make it easy
on everybody and call it a white guy? Okay, Like,
what what are we doing here? Right? I'm not a

(41:06):
strange humanoid? Okay, I'm just white, that's it. And you
watch this video and it's just somebody in an alien costume.
It doesn't walk, it doesn't even walk like an alien. Like,
they don't even have like a weird they're not even
like a scared that the ring camera came on, like
they didn't look up at it real quick and then

(41:27):
look back. It's literally somebody dressed as an alien walking
across the yard like they're taking out the aluminum cans
for the bums to grab. I don't get it. We
do have some proof that somebody's done a hell of
a job, a hell of a job at least at
this in the world of football. We'll explain coming up
here in just a couple of moments from now. Jonas

(41:48):
Knox Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to us as
always on the iHeartRadio app. You can find us on
hundreds of affiliates all across the country. Wherever you are
making us a part of your Saturday afternoon, we appreciate
you doing so. We'll be taking you all the way
up until the end of this hour four pm Eastern time,
one o'clock Pacific. And I'll just say this, man, When

(42:14):
people wanted to discuss whether or not what Dion Sanders
has done at Colorado has been a success, like, I
don't know how you argue that it hasn't, Like if
you just want to focus on, well, it has. He
won a national championship, as he won a conference title,
as he done I mean, like if you want to

(42:34):
swim and though, like that's fine and listen, he's going
to be coaching back. But it's not so much necessarily
about him in this regard, because you know Dion's great
as a player. You know what he's done as a coach.
Whether you just want to focus on the wins and
the losses, that's fine. The one thing you can't dispute

(42:55):
is what he's done from a branding standpoint, Like he
had his entire bladder removed, scary situation, talked about it
earlier this week. Like he's now got a depend sponsorship
like blenders depends, he's talked about having a porta potty
on the sidelines. If you're a porta John or porta

(43:18):
potty company in Boulder, if you're not running to try
and sponsor Colorado and put like, figure it out somehow,
some way, figure it out. But the one thing that
he did was he's gotten people to care about things
that you normally wouldn't have cared about. So, for example,

(43:43):
Colorado football. Colorado football was nowhere to be found from
a national discussion anywhere before Dion Sanders got there. If
you would have told Colorado football fans, by the way,
like literally the year before, by the way, in one

(44:03):
year from now, you're going to sell out every game
and there's going to be rap concerts before the games
each Saturday, they'd be like, what are you talking about?
Dion Sanders made that happen. So from a Colorado standpoint,
he made them a national topic and discussion. He's also

(44:29):
made fourth string quarterback health statuses at training camp a
topic of conversation because earlier today it was reported that
Shador Sanders was being held out of today's practice for
the Browns because of right shoulder soreness. You wouldn't have

(44:53):
heard that about any fourth string quarterback anywhere in the
NFL other than should Or Sanders, and Jimmy Haslam earlier
this week tried to distance himself from you know, shad
Or Sanders and taken responsibility for the pick and all
that stuff and whatever comes along with it. But you've

(45:14):
now seen shaud Or Sanders in the fifth round get
more coverage during the draft than the guy that was
taken number one in cam Ward, and probably get more
coverage in training camp than the guy that was taken
number one in cam Ward. All of that is a
testament to Deon Sanders, and look, just because he's four

(45:36):
string now doesn't mean he couldn't win the job potentially.
It doesn't mean he's not going to get his opportunities
at some point during the course of the season. Who knows,
maybe you know, he's potentially going to get traded, Can
he pikets back and all that. But as it stands
right now, should Or Sanders is the four string guy
in Cleveland. It's not a knock on him. He's working

(45:57):
through stuff. We spoke with Albert brearlier this week and
he said, yeah, he was behind everybody else. That's just
a fact. But the fact that his name comes up
as often as it does as a storyline is a
testament to why you look at what Deon Sanders has
done at Colorado as it already being a success already,

(46:19):
whether he coaches one more year, two more years, three
more years, whatever. I've said it for months now, whatever
that was, it was worth it. Whatever they paid for
Dion Sanders, whatever, it was worth it. And it probably
won't result in a national championship or a conference championship
or anything to go along, but he has generated a

(46:41):
level of interest in anything surrounding him and that program
that we just don't see and we don't even see
it at some of the higher rated programs or more
successful programs on the field in college football. So credit
to Dion Sanders. His son having shoulder sore and being
held out of camp earlier today and out of practice

(47:04):
has become a storyline for some people around the NFL
at the Jonas knocks on AX at the Jonas knocks
on acxs. All right, So another storyline in the NFL
is what the hell's going on with Dallas Cowboys and
Michah Parsons. Now I said it earlier. Any speculation is
fair speculation when you have something that everybody agrees on

(47:25):
and can't figure out. Everybody agrees that Michael Parsons should
be paid, nobody can figure out why it hasn't happened yet,
And so I speculated, like, hey, listen, maybe he's just
a giant pain in the ass behind the scenes. Maybe
there's some concerns or questions from the Cowboys about whether

(47:45):
or not they want to invest in Micah Parsons based
on behavior behind the scenes. Again, I don't know, I'm
just speculating. Some people have also thrown this out if
you listen closely, over the past couple of years, that
maybe he hasn't been the greatest guy in the locker room.
There's been complaints, people have gone to the coaches and said, hey,

(48:06):
you got to do something about Mike. He's done, Like
Jane Slater reported on that. Albert Briers also reported on
that as well, like there's been people have speculated about this.
That would be my best guess, because anything else doesn't
make sense. Somebody else who's looking to get a deal
done is Terry McLaurin of the Washington Commanders, his head coach,
Micah Parson's former defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn spoke about the

(48:31):
McLaurin situation earlier today. We love Terry.

Speaker 10 (48:34):
I'm really glad he's here. I'm hopefully he's out practicing soon.
And we also understand there's the business side of the
things that Adam on his side and Terry and his
reps are working it through. So I just kind of,
you know, stay in that space. We recognize both are happening.
But like I said, I'm really glad he's here. I
love coaching them. But the business side, you know, that's
kind of where it's at, and it's not somebody asked

(48:54):
me as a distraction.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
That is not. The players today they're more aware of.

Speaker 10 (49:00):
Contracts and things maybe than they used to be, and
they recognize that business part happens as well. So for
the team, we're just rocking and going and throwing some
great practices for Terry. And you know the trade request, Like, man,
that's that's part of normal business that you know tappening
around the NFL. It's it's normal.

Speaker 1 (49:20):
We understand it. That was Dan Quinn, a Commander's head coach,
talking about the Terry McLaurin trade request. Look, man, not
that either is going to happen. Not that either guy
is going to get a contract done. But doesn't it
one sound a little bit different than the other one
Like that, doesn't it sound like the whole the whole

(49:41):
vibe of one sounds way different than the other. I mean,
you want to throw Trey Hendrickson in there, you can.
Trey Hendrickson just sounds like somebody who's a beaten man.
Like he sounds like somebody who's like, listen, I've tried everything.
I've I've kicked, I've screamed. I'm not getting a deal done.
I promise you I'm leaving. I'm gonna take off, and
then he ends up coming back, and then I'm not
going to play under this current contract. And then if

(50:03):
it push comes to shove, he's probably gonna play under that.
With Terry McLaurin and Michael Parsons, you got Dan Quinn
who saying, hey, listen, man, we love Terry. This is
part of the negotiation. We understand it, we respect it.
You know, we're hopeful we get something done. The Cowboys
have gone out of their way this offseason and especially
since they've gotten to training camp to let you know

(50:23):
all the things that could go wrong with the deal,
to get done for Christ's sake. Jerry Jones called him
Michael Parson a week ago, like, do you know there's
just just two different levels to this whole thing, you
know what I mean? Like it does feel like Terry

(50:45):
McLaurin and the Commanders are gonna get something that I'd
be shocked, Like Terry the They're gonna get something done.
And while I don't think Michaeh. Parsons gets traded by
the Dallas Cowboys, it does feel like that one's taking
a turn for the worse. If we're just being objective
and you're looking at both and you got a grade,
which one are you most concerned about? The Micah Parsons

(51:08):
situation in Dallas doesn't seem great. And I would argue this,
if the Dallas Cowboys were to trade away Micah Parsons
because they didn't want to sign him to a deal,
that would mean in the same offseason the Cowboys lost

(51:29):
their head coach and Mike McCarthy And I don't want
to hear while I dismissed it or moved on and no, no,
like they could have gotten a deal done and Dallas
butchered that one and they didn't get a deal done. Instead,
they hired Brian Schottenheimer, and Brian Schottenheimer was even surprised
to get hired because he thought he was out the door,
only to find out he was going to get the gig.

(51:49):
And they did it way later than anybody else. If
you were to all of a sudden then decide you
wanted to move on from Micah Parsons whatever you got
in return, which would take years, years before we know
who actually got the better of that deal. That is
an awful offseason for the Cowboys. Awful. So we can

(52:14):
sit here and dismiss all of these requests, or we
can judge him each by how they're operating and looking
from the outside, Trey Hendrickson feels like he's gonna play
on whatever the Bengals are gonna give him based on
what he's not already. During the negotiations. Terry McLaurin and
the Commanders, it feels like there's mutual respect. They love

(52:34):
each other. He's there, he's and they're gonna get a
deal done. Micah Parsons feels like anything could happen at
this point. Anything could happen at this point except for
the Cowboys actually negotiating a contract, which reportedly hasn't happened
for months at the Jonas Knocks on X at the
Jonas Knox on X and you can find us on
Instagram at Jonas Knox Show. Coming up next here though,

(52:58):
I mean somebody he's calling it like it is, Like
there's a quarterback in the NFL calling it like it is,
and it's not an indictment on him, it's an indictment
on his organization. We'll tell you who that is right
here on FSRE. We don't need to bring Jonas in.
Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio coming up in a little

(53:19):
over ten minutes from now. We may have proof of
the best fan base in the NFL. They might even
be the best fan base in all of sports based
on what we've seen over the past two to three
days elsewhere. I'll explain why that is coming up here
again a little over ten minutes from now. By the way,

(53:41):
a lot of positive feedback here on the show. Peter
writes in Jony, you can now blast your man bleep
to your fakers, boy toy. The new and improved stud
Lucas Bleepitch have at it now, joining Otani as a

(54:04):
double team. You bleep sewad Dan writes in your favorite
and trustee dildo going viral at your beloved WNBA games.
Now you'll need a new one to pleasure your bleep

(54:26):
while glazing all those bleep and bleep beefcakes you bleep
at the Jonas Knocks on X. That is at the
Jonas Knocks On X. That's where you can find all
the boy Actually, you know what, I don't even know

(54:48):
if I can post those there, I'll post them on Instagram.
Those will go up on Instagram at Jonas Knox show.
Just give a follow there and you will see those
in the ig ig stories rather coming up here before
the end of the show. But oh boy, people are
fired up, all right. So with that being said, we
transition smoothly over this and that this is a quarterback

(55:11):
who basically is letting you know, yeah, this isn't just me,
like this is a Wei problem. It's not just me,
it's we. And that quarterback is none other than Caleb
Williams of the Chicago Bears, who was on with Wattle
and Sylvie in Chicago talking about the potential pressure he

(55:31):
might feel this upcoming season.

Speaker 4 (55:33):
Pressure isn't a pressure is not a thing for me?
I don't you know, think of life that way in
the situation that I'm in, and so, you know, we
keep chugging along, and you know there's gonna be ups
and downs and it's not you know, it's not my
job to care about with the outside you know, noises
and things like that. My job is take care of
everything in here and go out there and play, you know,
And I didn't you know, I I know we didn't

(55:57):
win as many you know games as we wanted to
last year, but you.

Speaker 8 (56:00):
Know I didn't.

Speaker 4 (56:01):
Uh, I didn't go twenty and twenty in interceptions and
things like that. So you know, take it for what
you want, but no pressure is uh previlege. Pressure is
a privilege. But you know, in the situation that I'm mad,
I don't think I have pressure.

Speaker 1 (56:18):
You know what that was. That was him basically saying,
you know, it's not just me, And you could argue
Caleb Williams was like way down low on the list
of issues the Bears had last year, way down low,
and in fact, he wasn't here for all the awful

(56:43):
teams and decisions and seasons that were here previously. So
when he points out, you know, it's not like I
went twenty touchdowns twenty interceptions last year. He wasn't bad
last year. He was a rookie. There were mistakes. It
has to get better, of course, but it's not like

(57:04):
he was terrible. They were terrible. And so that's almost
like him pointing out the fact that you know, this
isn't just about like getting me ready to go. He's
the quarterback, he's the most important player on the team,
but they've got other issues there. That's why I pointed out,

(57:25):
you know, last week when people are talking about, oh
my god, the offense is struggling in training camp and
all that, it's like, well, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a
new coach, it's a new scheme, you still have a
young quarterback, and you've got new pieces there. It's going
to take time. Like did everybody just think it was
a turnkey operation, like Ben Johnson was just taking over
some finished product and everything's going to be fun. Like, No, Like,

(57:49):
it's going to take time, as it would in just
about any situation in the NFL. But this idea that
Caleb Williams feels, is he feeling pressure. I'm sure he's
feeling pressure. Everybody there should feel pressure because they were
awful last year. Ben Johnson's probably feeling pressure, like heay Man,

(58:09):
like I want to be the guy to help turn
this thing around, and I'm the guy that they are
trusting to try and get the most out of Caleb Williams.
So yeah, everybody feels pressure. But this notion and the
way he responded was because I think he senses that
all eyes are on him when the reality is all
I should be on them, Like it's I'll be honest

(58:32):
with you, I'm stunned at how much coverage they have gotten,
they meaning the Chicago Bears and Caleb Williams have gotten
this season. Stunned because I know it was a big
hire in Ben Johnson, and I know that you know
they're looking they're looking to get the most out of

(58:54):
Caleb Williams and all that. Like totally get it understood,
all fair, But couldn't you say the same thing about
the Patriots Drake May second year in new head coach
and it's Mike Vrabel. Yet all the stories you hear
about in New England is about Robert Kraft and you

(59:18):
know Belichick and they still have some beef and Stefan
Diggs and you know he's snorting twocy on a boat
somewhere during the off season and talking about you know,
Cardi B's BBL or whatever the hell. It's just like
you don't really hear, like, man, Drake May's got a
lot of pressure, Drake, are you feeling the pressure this?

(59:39):
Like no, But for some reason, Drake May's in the
same situation as Caleb Williams. Showed a lot of potential,
a lot of promise, but bad team, didn't win a
lot of games, got a new coach, can they compete?

(01:00:00):
And for some reason, you don't hear anything about that,
But you're hearing everything about Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson.
And that was Caleb Williams basically telling people like, hey,
you know, like we were all bad last year. We
it wasn't just me. We were awful, Like I wasn't

(01:00:21):
the only problem or even near the top of the
list of problems for the Bears last year and all
the previous regimes and all that I had nothing to
do with that that wasn't me. And for some reason,
the coverage of the Bears has been non stopped this offseason.

(01:00:42):
If you think I'm making this up, watch any of
your favorite network television shows. Watch during the day and
see how many times when there's not really a giant
story out like Micah Parsons trade request or something like,
watch how many times the discussion is about Caleb Williams

(01:01:04):
and Ben Johnson and the Bears. You don't see any
of that for Drake may or the Patriots. And I
would argue that's a way more interesting storyline because that's
a former Patriot taking over his former team and an
owner who's got everything to prove when it comes to

(01:01:26):
his value and his impact on the organization in comparison
to Tom Brady and Bill. But like I would argue,
the Patriots are a more compelling storyline than the Bears.
They get a fraction of the coverage. So when Caleb
Williams is talking about pressure and saying, well, it's not
like I was twenty and twenty, he's right. They were

(01:01:47):
not good last year, but he wasn't bad, and so
why should he feel any more pressure than anybody else
in that building. Last year's failures were on everybody, not
just him. At the Jonas Knox on X, that is

it's coming up next here we may have further proof

(01:02:28):
that this is the best fan base, not only in
the NFL, but the best fan base in sports. We'll
explain why right here on Fox Sports Radio. But for
all the latest from around the world of sports, ladies
and gentlemen. Speaking of the best, he has been called
the best sports talk radio anchor in the history of

(01:02:52):
the business. The man who called him that was me,
That is correct, the one and only Sir Isaac Longcron.

Speaker 7 (01:03:00):
Yeah, you called the Sager the best anchor in the
history of the business.

Speaker 1 (01:03:05):
Depends on who butters my bread that day. I can
be bought.

Speaker 7 (01:03:10):
You know, I did not know this, That's correct, Okay,
I got I got some homework to do, Like what
is your what is your method of bribery?

Speaker 1 (01:03:21):
Choice food gift certificates, compliments?

Speaker 7 (01:03:27):
Jonas, you are so handsome that I am shocked the
people those trolls on social media compare you to Dracula.
So what did Sager say to you to butter you up?
I'm just just curious.

Speaker 1 (01:03:42):
He mesmerized me because he figured out a way to
talk four minutes in an update a badminton house like
only Steve could do.

Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
That.

Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
Was it at least during the pandemic or was it
a last Steve? Yeah, Steve and I have spent a
lot of a lot of the pandemic together, that is true.

Speaker 7 (01:03:57):
Okay, Well, did he at least have a clever like
hold on to your socks and shuttlecocks?

Speaker 1 (01:04:04):
No, he didn't. But if that's the one you're gonna
go with, you might have just shot up the charts. Okay,
I'm just saying, By the way, shuttlecock is the little
birdie they hit in badminton. I feel that. Don't know,
that's right?

Speaker 7 (01:04:19):
Sorry to assume that most of America was as well
versed in badminton terminology as they are. Say in a
new contract for Luca Doncics, the Los Angeles Lakers start
today signing a three year, one hundred and sixty five
million dollar max extension. He and the Lakers just wrapped
up a news conference about it, where general manager Rob
Polinka was asked about Lebron James.

Speaker 4 (01:04:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:04:42):
So all the interactions we've had with Lebron and his camp,
Rich in particular have been positive and supportive, very professional,
and Rich has been great. The dialogue with him has
been open and constant. The number one thing we have
to do there is respect he and his family's decision
in terms of how long he's going to play. I
think that's first and foremost, and we want to respect

(01:05:03):
his ability to come up with his timetable on that.
If you had a chance to retire a Laker, that
would be great.

Speaker 7 (01:05:08):
Boston Celtics minority owner Steve Pagliuca is buying the WNBA's
Connecticut son for three hundred and twenty five million dollars
and is planning to move the team to Boston as
early as twenty twenty seven. All this pending approval by
the League Baseball Yondi Diaz of the Tampa Bay Rays
hit two home runs today in a four to nothing
win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Right now at Wrigley,

(01:05:30):
the Cubs have a three to nothing lead over Baltimore
in the bottom of the fourth. Finally, in the NFL,
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons, who of course went public
with his trade request yesterday, was present at Cowboys practice
in Oxnarn, California. Today, Parsons was walking on the field
in a windbreaker and shorts, and moments ago he was

(01:05:50):
actually catching footballs from the jugs machine. Meanwhile, one fan
brought a sign to practice today reading and I quote
pay Micah Sell. The team obviously directed that irrepressible Dallas
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, you know this guy.

Speaker 1 (01:06:08):
Michael Parson back to you. I thank you, Jerry, I mean,
you know Cowboys. I mean, at least he's hanging out there.
He's letting everybody know I don't want to be here anymore,
but I'll still hang out with you guys. Good for him. Oh, now,
the latest, the latest video.

Speaker 7 (01:06:27):
He is working out with the quarterbacks and throwing footballs
towards a net that has three targets on it. That's
the very latest from Micah Parsons. So he is, he's participating,
but he's not participating.

Speaker 1 (01:06:41):
All the way up there in Knoxnard. It is interesting
that Ezekiel Elliott bailed and went to Cabo and got paid. Micah,
for whatever reason, thinks this is a better approach. I'll
just make things really uncomfortable for everybody. Boy. You know what,
that's a really good point. I mean, it's just, you know,
there's there's there's a certain way to do it. Like
if you walked in and you saw your wife with

(01:07:04):
somebody else, I'm just gonna go there and drinks. Yeah, Okay,
we're gonna yeah. I was just gonna say, if you
walk in and you find there's a couple of ways
to handle this. If you walk in and you find
your wife having having drinks at happy hour, getting real uh,
real close with somebody that you don't know, there's two
ways that you can handle it. Either you can get
into a fit of rage and just beat the hell
out of the guy, or you can just sit at

(01:07:26):
the table right next to him and order a beer
and just make it real awkward for everybody. And I
like the fact that Michael Parsons just pulled up right
next to the bar top and just ordered a beer.
So I'm gonna make this real awkward on everybody here.

Speaker 7 (01:07:40):
There are two schools of thought on that, because That's
exactly what I was thinking when you brought that up.
I mean, what is the dating slash relationship equivalent of
this situation?

Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
And I think you captured it. Yeah, and that's what
we do here on Sports Stock Radio in August as
we wait for more preseason games. Thank you, Eilo. We
will close up shop here in about twelve minutes from
now with another edition of the Scraps Things in the
world of sports and beyond we have not had a
chance to get to. That'll be yours here. I do

(01:08:12):
want to mention this though, there is this discussion often
about well, who's got the best fan base, who's got
the best fan base? And you can argue for several
around the world of sports, But if the NFL is king,
we'll just keep it to the NFL, right, because you've
got to be able to cross resonate with other teams

(01:08:36):
and other leagues in other places. For example, the Green
Bay Packers, they have the Lambeau Leap. They all get
together and they jump into the crowd after a touchdown.
The Bears tried it after they beat the Packers in
Week eighteen last year, and the Packers fans are like, no,

(01:08:57):
we're not having it no chance. Say whatever you want
about the Dallas Cowboys. They go to ox Nart every
year and they're fans out the door to see the
Cowboys every single year. Love their Dallas Cowboys. Loyal fan base,
great fan base, cag nargue, largest best fan base in
the NFL, maybe of all of professional sports. Then you

(01:09:22):
get the Bills. You think, well, how do they show
their support and their loyalty. They jump through tables, they
squirt mustard and catch up on each other before games.
It's a whole big thing. But I would argue that
that's not why the Bills are the best fan base

(01:09:45):
in all the land, because they have been able to
have an impact across multiple sports because well before the
Neon Greens set toys were thrown onto the court at
WNBA games this week, the Bills fans were doing that

(01:10:06):
like years ago. Remember that, like seven eight years ago.
It might have been in consecutive seasons. Bill's patriots like
people are throwing. I mean they look they didn't have
the creativity to go Neon green, but they just went,
you know, I guess, depending on who you are, flesh
colored and just threw like launched, launched. These sex toys

(01:10:30):
onto the field, and it was appropriate because people just
started calling them Billdos. I don't know if they were engraved.
I don't know if there was like any sort of
Bill's logo on them, but they were doing that years ago,
and to see the idea taken and morphed into this
this week in the WNBA, I think gives Bill's Mafia

(01:10:53):
a legitimate argument for being the best and most impactful
fan base in all of sports. Like, you could point
to all the charitable things that they've done. You could
point to them jumping through tables. You could point to
them supporting the team after all those Super Bowl losses.
You could point to them supporting their team after all
the playoff heartbreak. You could point to a lot of

(01:11:15):
different examples of why the Bills have a legitimate argument
as having the best fan base in all of sports.
But right up there at the top of the list,
right up there, way above everything else, above their loyalty
and their charitable donations and what they've done to rally
their community, you point to the fact that all these
years later, a sport and a league like the WNBA,

(01:11:40):
looking for any sort of headlines they could get, had
one night of a wig falling off on the court
and realize we got to up our game. And they
reached into the past and said, you know what, tip
of the caf to those Buffalo Bills. No pun intended
with the word tip, but tip of the caf to
those Buffalo Bills and their fans. We like the idea

(01:12:01):
so much we're going to do it twice in a
three day span, sex toys on the court. So congratulations
and a round of applause to Bill's Mafia and the
Buffalo Bills fan base. You have done it. You have
now been voted the best and most impactful fan base

(01:12:22):
in all of sports for twenty twenty five at the

Right now though it is time for.

Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
This, Jonas Moro, how could you not get to these stories,
you Moro?

Speaker 1 (01:13:54):
These are there scraps all right? Patrick Sweeka, who again
is in for Boa Benz and who tested positive for
peds earlier this week, and it's not with us here today, Patty.
What do we got? All right?

Speaker 6 (01:14:06):
Well, so Jonas, we got one with the baseball So
we all know Bryce Harper, Phillies all Star, the big guy,
the big name from Philly. Well, it seems he got
in a bit of an altercation with MLB Commissioner Rob
Manfred who wanted to talk to him about, you know,
the potential for any MLB salary cap type stuff. So well,

(01:14:30):
Bryce Harper told him he could, you know, bleep off right,
and you know, so that was a.

Speaker 1 (01:14:37):
Yeah, that was nice, not very nice.

Speaker 10 (01:14:40):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:14:40):
And I think Rob manfer it spoke about it yesterday
as well too, and just kind of said, well, you know,
he dismissed the whole thing and it's, you know, not
that big of a deal and whatnot. I just how
does something like that get out, Like, like, let's listen
to Rob man for a discuss just sort of the altercation.
In his own words yesterday, I don't talk about those

(01:15:02):
player meetings.

Speaker 8 (01:15:02):
Let me say this, I think more has been made
out of this than needs to be made out of it.

Speaker 1 (01:15:07):
You know, Bryce expresses views.

Speaker 8 (01:15:10):
At the end of the meeting, we shook hands and
went our separate ways.

Speaker 1 (01:15:13):
Just not all that significant. It was an individual picking
a particular way to express himself and I don't think
you need to make more out of that than that.
How did it get out? Like that's like if that's
a behind a closed door meeting, Like all the details
came out and nobody's denying unless they wanted it out,

(01:15:34):
unless you know this is part of their Hey, this
is how we bring up the topic. And kind of
Roger Goodell does this sometimes when he wants to make changes.
He doesn't just come out and say it. He'll beat
around the bush and hint at things and then go
on to media toy. We're thinking about expanding the eighteen games.
We're thinking like this just comes out and they've got
full details, and they've got Nick Cassianos and his involvement

(01:15:56):
of it. It's the whole thing is weird. And for
it to come out this ahead of time and neither
one of them is denying it. But you got Rob
mannfor defending him, but they shook hands. It just I
don't know, man, It just it feels like if it's
that detailed, then somebody wanted it out for a reason.
What else we got Patty. All right, so we're gonna
kind of go back to California for this one. Jonah.

Speaker 6 (01:16:17):
So there's a lady in Cali locally out here, I guess.
So she filled her hair with what jonahs, seven hundred
count them, seven hundred and eleven golf teas into her hair.
Apparently she's so passionate about golf and wanted to break
a of course, a Guinness World record. She puts seven

(01:16:37):
hundred of these golf teas into her hair and there's
actually an ig pic of it too. Why just to
break a record, and just to break a record, and
she just loves golf that much.

Speaker 1 (01:16:51):
She's like, I thought it'd be a great idea. But oh,
I mean, oh okay, I don't listen, man. People want
to be in the record book so bad they're willing
to do anything, and I just I don't get the
infatuation with it. It like when you talk about like
these Guinness Book of World records and people doing certain

(01:17:13):
things like the woman's going to shove a bunch of
golf teas in her hair and be like, look, I
set the record for that, Like how do you, first all,
how do you even think to do that? A b
How do you even know you can do that? And
see get a life, Like I'm not trying. Like this
is worse than we talked about this earlier. Somebody claims

(01:17:33):
on their ring camera they spot in an alien walk
by their front porch and Compton, I said it was
a white person. It's got to be a white guy
like it literally, like that's that's what the alien was.
Like this, you know, humanoid whatever they called it in
the article. If that is what you're doing with your time,
you're faking an alien walking by your front porch on

(01:17:58):
your ring camera. The only thing worse than that is
shoving eight hundred golf teas in your hair and then
bragging about it, like, oh, look what I can do.
Look at this trick I've got, Like what I don't
I don't get it for what I can understand. Look,
Rob Parker does this from time to time. He doesn't
want to have to pay to check a bag when

(01:18:19):
he goes on. Wow, it's true, Rob, and you know it.
So what he does is he wears layers of outfits
onto the plane. So like if he's got to if
he's got to go for several days in a row,
he'll wear layers of outfits on the plane, and then
that way he just packs whatever his carry on bag
is and then he doesn't have to check a bag.

(01:18:40):
So if his carry on is tighter pants, pants, and
the way the way to get him tight is to
wear seven at the same time, Like he'll do that.
That I can understand. Like that's serving a purpose. You're
saving money. This woman shoving golf equipment in her hair
and bragging about it. You got a tissue for me? No, no,
get my emphasize the d all right, what else we got?

Speaker 6 (01:19:05):
Jonas on the woman?

Speaker 1 (01:19:08):
Oh stop, stop.

Speaker 6 (01:19:13):
Next, Joe. So we got another kind of Guinness World
record thing. So a giant baseball. And I'm when I
mean giant, I mean actually like ten or twenty times
the size of literally us giant sized golf ball.

Speaker 1 (01:19:28):
It broke the world record. Call ball or baseball? Did
I say golf? I meant baseball. That's a right that
weirdo's got you all hot and botto dude, apparently, So
he got a This guy got a baseball signed with
six thousand, seven and fifty signatures.

Speaker 6 (01:19:46):
It broke a world record. And I'm literally looking at
a picture. That thing is huge, Like.

Speaker 1 (01:19:51):
Who who signed it.

Speaker 6 (01:19:53):
Apparently they took it on a minor league baseball tour
and it's just a bunch of just minor league guys.

Speaker 1 (01:19:59):
Okay, how big is the baseball? Do we have an
actual size? Because how how are you carrying that from
one place to the next.

Speaker 6 (01:20:06):
It says the eight foot diameter is a is a
replica baseball, So it's and it's eight feet eight feet
and he's taking bigger than me. Yep, man, people, people
got so much time on their hands, it's shocking, shocked.

Speaker 1 (01:20:22):
I could look. I did it one time. My buddy
and I came back from kankun and we got just
blistered in the airport and thought it would be a
good idea to buy the buy these giant sized like sombreros.
And the second I got on the plane, I was like,
this is the dumbest idea I've ever had. You can't
travel with this stuff, and you can't travel with a
giant baseball. Figure it out. There's better things to do

(01:20:43):
with your time. Guys, Come on, Jonas, son of a bitch,
