Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. Buckle up, Buttercup.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Here we go Week seven, and the National Football League
has given us another energy boost.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
And as you know, nowhere near done yet.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
You got three football games still to be played in
each and every one of them have their own set
of intrigue. Not too far down the highway from where
I sit right now, Sunday Night Football.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
We'll kick off in just about twenty minutes.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Our watch party begins as we unload and go through
everything that has already happened to this point, live right
here in these Fox Sports Radio studios. Indeed, it is
Mark WEATHERD and E from salam Ephraim.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
I'm ready to rock tonight. Good evening. How you doing,
my man? I'm good, brother, how you doing?
Speaker 2 (00:48):
We're ready to roll always, Let's go. Let's do this.
I have a question for you.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Answer.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
I bet you do.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
It's a question that's been asked a whole lot before,
or it just happens to be sort of top of
mine right now because one of the specific games that
just came down to an end just a handful of
minutes ago. And I apologize if I'm not even saying
this young man's name, correctly, is it, Jude mccadamny, Is
that how we're doing this? Jude mccadamney, You hadn't heard
(01:22):
of him when we woke up today.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
I hadn't heard of him when we woke up today.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
It turns out he had a major, major effect on
the NFL.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
On this particular Sunday.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
You and I both gave some preseason love to the
Denver Broncos.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Used to play for this football team, and they are
now five and two.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
And they are three and zero at home, and they
are in first place in the AFC West, which is
where you and I predicted them to be. The Chiefs
look like they're on the come. But for right now,
the Denver Broncos are holding down the AFC West. But
let's be real, they shouldn't be. They shouldn't be, at
least at this hour. They got beats six ways to
Sunday in this football game. But then, are you ready?
(02:04):
I've never seen this before. I don't know if it's
ever happened before. Our guys could tell us thirty three
points in the fourth quarter alone, thirty three point The
Denver Broncos were losing this football game nineteen to nothing
to start the fourth quarter and they won thirty three
(02:24):
to thirty two. Explain this to me. I can't explain it.
But the reason I bring up Jude mccadamny, if that's
his name, he's going to have a long day on
New York Sports Radio tomorrow because he missed two extra
points and the second one allowed a thirty should be
(02:45):
thirty three to thirty game be a thirty two to
thirty game, and that allowed bow Knicks and Courtland Sutton
in the Denver Broncos to go down the field and
kick the game winner to end it. And here's my
question to you, especially with everything that you have said
about kickers so far this year, are do we want
them having this much of an effect on the outcome
(03:05):
of football games?
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Do you like.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
That as part of the game.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
It is, it always has been. It's not going to change.
I get it.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
So you that's like saying we should just get rid
of special teams. Well, every time the ball should be
placed at the twenty five yard line. If you they're
an no punts, you got to go for it every
fourth down. We're trending that way anyway.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
See yeah, well right, And I'm not into that, but
The reason I ask is because, like you've literally detailed
for me this year, how y'all don't even look at
these guys as your teammates.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
No, not especially not today, right, and and so we're
not going to change this today.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
I'm not even proposing that we do.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
But it's just a head scratcher that this person who's
a hired gun and not seen as a teammate just
walks out onto the field and either has a profound
positive or profound negative effect on the outcome of the
game when they have nothing to do with the week's
game plan.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Not all.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Now, let me be clear when I say they're not
part of the team. I'm being extremely facetious. Now, obviously
they're part of the team, but we don't see them
like we see other positions. Yep, right, there's not a
bunch of guys getting together and going to hang out
(04:31):
at the kickers house. They're not coming to our offensive
dinners or the defensive defensive dinners that happen every Thursday
by position are by entire squad. They're in their own
little bubble. They don't practice like we do in training camp,
they don't meet like we do. It's just that's what
(04:51):
separates them. So when I'm saying they're not part of
the team, they don't have to go through what we
have to go through. Right. They may have four plays
a game, are none sometimes nan while we have offensively
(05:13):
anywhere between forty five and sixty defensively the same way.
And so when it's just your job to do this
one thing and you struggle doing that, yet don't come
over here like we cool, like, oh, I'm with you, guys. No,
(05:37):
And so that's why I'm always saying, look, they're not
even they not with us like that, right, And anytime
we're at home and my wife's like, is he gonna
make it?
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Is he not?
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Or you ask me is he gonna make it? I'm like, hey,
either you own the team or you not. Either you
with us or you're not.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
And Jude.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Academy is not what it boils down to, is. Yes,
shame on the Giants defense for giving up thirty three points.
Shame on them. Yeah, shame on them. But offensively, you
score thirty two points essentially thirty four without the two
mixed missed extra points, you should win a football game. Now,
(06:20):
defense has a large part to deal with that, But no, bro,
we put you in position we score, give us the point,
all right? They should just make it all two point
conversions and yeah, no more extra points. Is just Phiel
goals and two point conversions.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
I mean, my mind actually also goes to since the
last time we talked, the story that unfolded on Monday
night when Jake Moody, once upon a time jettison from
the San Francisco forty nine Ers, a recent third round
pick from three years ago who could not he could
not kick, He could not kick the ball straight ever since,
(07:02):
basically two seasons ago, and he walked out made the team,
to the chagrin of many forty nine er fans, made
the team and then walked out there on opening weekend
against the Seattle Seahawks and for his first kick of
the year, bong from thirty to thirty three yards out
or whatever it was, and it was like, all.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Right, you don't get to be on the forty nine
ers anymore.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Well, he resurfaces on the Bears practice squad and then
the next thing you know, Cairo Santos is hurt and
here's Jake Moody kicking four field goals, some from almost
fifty yards out with regularity. Through the rain in our
nation's capital for the Bears, and he's like the player.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Of the game.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
And so they're interviewing him after the game and he
keeps his helmet on like he's Ricky Williams or something,
and he keeps his helmet on and he's talking about
how like I really just appreciate being accepted here by
my teammates. And I'm going, your teammates don't know, Like
Caleb Williams was like, I just met the guy, and
(08:05):
it's just funny to me, Like, I don't I don't
know if we meant to be here. I guess this
is my this is what I'm trying to say. We're here,
we can't leave here. But I don't think when we
put football together, I don't think.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
That this is what we meant.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Especially now these dudes are booting the fifty five and
sixty yarders with regularity. This new kickoff rule. Maybe twelve
seconds left in the game, it's a kickoff boop. We're
in field goal rage, and so like the kicker has
become even more important this year.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
I think, Bro, that game was nuts.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
You're talking about the Monday nighter.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
This Giant Giants, crazy, crazy, sixty five points in the game.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Nineteen were scored in the first three quarters. Sixty five points.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
This is that's ridiculous. Nothing is. So I've been a
part of a game like this and it's not a
record because we didn't win. When I was with Houston,
we played against the Tennessee Titans when they had Kyle
(09:15):
Van den Bosch and Albert Haynesworth and that defense. Jim
Schwartz was a defensive coordinator. We scored twenty nine point
I think it was seven. We scored twenty nine points
in the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter to take
a two point lead with fifty six left seconds left
in the game. They came out three passes later kicked
(09:40):
the field goal. We lose by one. Like I know
what that yep. I have literally been pass blocking the
entire game with all against two all Pro defensive players,
and you do all of that and the defense gives
(10:02):
up three completions and a field goal and you lose.
And so I know what that feels like. I know
what the Giants are feeling like, Like that would have
been a record for points in the fourth quarter. Nobody
cares because we lost. Ye shout out to the Broncos
(10:23):
for sticking with it. You know, these two young quarterback
look and shout out to Jackson dart Man. He was
he was he in Scataboo. They were gamers. They were
in there, they were playing. Now that one interception in
the fourth quarter, like that, that is a bad, bad.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Pick, that's a really really bad pick.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
That's you got rookies, but it's it's expected and and
and look you can said, well, that's not going to detract,
in my opinion, from the level of confidence and energy
that this young man.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
Plays with.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
New York found their guy.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
He's definitely there.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Gay found their guy, and they're viable.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Like they're not gonna make the playoffs, they fell at
two and five, but like they're a problem.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
That nobody's gonna want to play them. I don't tell
you that, like yep, yep.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
I mean when when they're on your schedule on Sunday
about three weeks ago, that was like, well that's a win.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Not anymore, not anymore.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
He shout out to the Denver broncos Man. Just the
resilience of we we got it. We gotta keep going,
we gotta keep going.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
We can do this, man, seriously, seriously, it was twenty
six to eight with ten minutes ago.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
It was twenty six to eight with five minutes and
twenty seconds ago.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
The Broncos have lost to the Colts by one and
the Charge by three. They're a good team, absolutely, they're
a good team. They want of the top teams.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
Don't forget that loss in Indianapolis. Don't forget how that
game right exactly, which was a missed field goal and
Denver wins, but a leverage penalty allowed the Colts one
more kick with no time and they booted it through
and won that football game.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
That thing could have gone either way.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
And for the majority of that game, Denver was out
playing them, and and and India is for real them.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
We are going to get to that.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
We'll get to them.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
But yeah, dude, Denver has played some serious fourth quarters lately.
Like to know what the hell they're doing the first
three quarters of these games whatever, Like remember seventeen to
three against Philly. I don't know what the hell they're
doing for three quarters, But my goodness, my goodness, in
the fourth quarter, they wake up.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
This this was serious now, being coming from New York
and going to play in Denver and playing at that
altitude you can third and fourth quarter, you get tired. Defensively,
you get tired, yep. That was our specialty. Would We
(13:25):
would run them until they couldn't run. And so you
get tired, and you can't keep your defense on the
field that long. I mean, they're bound to break. They
it's just hard to breathe. It's hard to breathe, ye,
And so that's why they wear the fifty to eighty
on on the front of their helmets. That's how high
(13:48):
above sea level you are. And it is thin, the
airs thin up there.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Boy, Catch your breath, Catch your breath, and I mean
that lovely, Yes, no doubt about it.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
All right.
Speaker 2 (14:02):

From Salam, I'm Mark Willard. The Niners and the Falcons
are underway. Fred Warner and Nick Bosa are both gone
for the year. Boy, I am curious to see how
and who on this defense for the forty nine ers
is able to stop another NFL team, especially this one.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
Yeah, this team is a running machine. Bjon Rondo, Bjen Rondo.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Always got NBA, I got days, Lakers Warriors.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Today there we get there two days. I cannot wait.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Let's go.
Speaker 3 (16:54):
But look, Atlanta has come out and and just been different.
They got a bunch of young guns with London. Even
Kyle Pitts has showed up right, Even Michael Pennix is
running the show, and no one can stop Bejon. It's
(17:17):
it's that's the best back in the game right now, today,
right now. Yes, because he can do everything. He can
do everything.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
I'm with you.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
The run game is where my mind is today as well,
because the forty nine ers, with Kyle Shanahan as their
coach and Christian McCaffrey healthy, have the worst run game
in the NFL by statistics, and that's unthinkable.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Now. There are many many reasons for that.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
I don't think many of them are Christian McCaffrey, to
be honest with you, What I do think is that
this league still doesn't fully understand or realize how much
much of an all around player George Kittle is and
I think he affects the run game greatly. And so
(18:06):
my hope, slash prediction is that you're going to see
this forty nine er run game break out to a
certain degree and look a little bit more effective tonight
because George kill is back.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
Yeah. Look, not just in the run game, but you
have to realize he's one of the best pass catching
tight ends on the planet Earth and has been. And
I'm not just talking about his blocking. I'm talking about
his abilities to get open similar to what Travis Kelsey
(18:41):
is for Patrick Mahomes. He has an innate ability to
just be there and you're like, well, who everyone knows
where the ball is going, but he can uncover and
he can make himself available. They get Juwan Jennings back,
they got Kendrick Born again catch everything out there. And
(19:05):
mac Jones is putting up three under yard games like
he's putting up three under yard games, and so they
not to mention Christian McCaffrey. So they have a fighting
chance here with a hot Atlanta team and you know,
Kyle Shanahan as they give up a sect the first place. Sorry,
(19:25):
that offensive line is another story. They're gonna have to
protect Mac Jones. They're gonna have to get the ball
off early. I hate starting games with passes. That's just me.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Yeah, that's just me. Yeah, sixes.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
I don't like five steps, seven step drops. And let
me explain this to people, because you put your offensive line,
your offensive lineman and in a position of being passive
and not aggressive. If you want to win the line
of scrimmage, you need to be aggressive. I want to
go forward, I want to attack past. Blocking for us
(20:03):
is retreating and waiting, and so for me as a
left tackle. I want to inflict the pain. I want
to get my hands on your head, but you let
you know it's gonna be a long day. Kind of
knock a little snot bubble out, make you bite your
tongue or something like that, just to set the tone
and set my pads. Opposed to a five seven step drop,
(20:26):
I used to hate looking at the first fifteen, which
is what we go over script the script the night
before the game. The first thing I'm doing is looking
at the first play. If it's a seventh step drop,
I'm like, oh, here we go. Yeah, And offensive coordinators
don't care. They're just looking at Okay, well they are
not good at dB, so we're gonna attack them. Opposed
(20:47):
to let's set the tone and the tempo. That's my
whole thing, Like I want to be the one to
set the tempo and set the tone moving forward. So
they've picked up the first down and moving the change,
but let's just hand the ball up, you can't.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
They ran it on second and thirteen, got eight yards
and then a little past to McCaffrey there on third
down moves the change. So they do what the Falcons
couldn't and uh, and they're able to get a first down.
The Falcons went three and out and then now you
are going to get like early returns. This is stupid
to say, like what kind of a sample size is this?
(21:24):
But the next play was not McCaffrey. It was Brian Robinson.
He ran it for nine yards and just let me
tell you something he from And you know this, but
a lot of our audience may not because you don't
watch every team every week. The Niners have not been
able to get chunk plays first down in the run.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
Game at all.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
I mean like in the most head scratching, frustrating way possible.
Second in short has been basically like found treasure in
the ocean, like you cannot They have none of these
and so the early returns as they they're running the ball.
I'm telling you, George Kittle has an unbelievable effect on
(22:07):
the run game. And you can call it a homer
take all you want. It's why I believe he's the
best tight end of his generation. I believe he's one
of the best to ever do it. Apologies to Travis Kelce,
who is a much better receiver than just about anyone
outside of Tony Gonzales and Antonio Gates. But when it
comes to being both a receiver and having a very,
(22:28):
very profound blocking effect in the run game, George Kittle
is right there with the likes of the Rob Gronkowskis
and the Shannon Sharps. Historically, go ahead, go ahead, talk
to well, Okay, yeah, no, that's fair.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
I mean, and I'm talking about experience. We'll be in
the huddle and we'll have a double team and he'd
be like, hey, I'm only gonna get you a little bit,
and I'm out there and I'm like, hey, man, where
are you going? It's a run?
Speaker 2 (23:00):
See, like this mistake that I just made is this
is this is what I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
We watch football and a lot of us you don't know.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
You don't know because we they're five coachers ninety yards
that's it.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Fantasy team. Did he get in the end zone?
Speaker 2 (23:19):
And you don't know amongst the tight end greats always
who's a great blocker?
Speaker 3 (23:24):
Now block?
Speaker 2 (23:25):
But he was there for right and same with Travis Kelcey,
Same with Travis Kelcey. Antonio Gates never we he didn't
want look, he didn't want to look at anybody. These
are great receivers, but you are not George Kittle and Gronk.
Gronk was a very good blocker. I believe that Witton
was like pretty.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
Good, Yeah, pretty good, but like they would dominate.
Speaker 1 (23:52):
That's separate to me, got separate and they.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Could they could block a d n on on on
a pass play. That yes, single up a defense. It's
a it's a heck of a weapon a half and
to use because there aren't many dbs or uh safeties
are linebackers that can cover them one on one?
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Right, It's so I like, I see the Niner run
game having a better night. We'll see, we will see
as they are now facing a fourth and long just
across midfield.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
So two teams feeling each other out.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
You talk about having a weapon, though I don't know
that any NFL team has a weapon like Martin Wiss.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
I don't know if you feel that some of those
teams do we do?
Speaker 3 (24:35):
We do? We do the voice of the people.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
We got Martin Weiss.
Speaker 8 (24:40):
There he is, you know, but I know it would
have been better on those extra points today, right Lord,
have mercy. It's like missing free throws.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
A long day in New York.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
It's a long day in New York.
Speaker 8 (24:53):
It's been a long second inning in Seattle, right now,
Seattle in the sixth game of the AOC Seattle with
a three to two lead. Here he had Julio Rodriguez
misplay a ball in the outfield that allowed a single
turn to a double for Darton for Dalton bar Show,
and then a Suarez knocked down a ball in the
infield that turned into an error for.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
Him or any Clement now on.
Speaker 8 (25:15):
So Toronto has two on with nobody out in the
bottom of the second ending with Adam Barger up to back.
Gilbert's on his twenty fourth pitch on the other side
of the things, you Savage has been great for Toronto.
He's six up and six down so far into his pitch.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
Mart Yes, sir, these two teams are playing on a
death march.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
Dude, about to run into the firings.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
They're on a death march. You enjoy your champagne to
night if you get it. Yeah, guys, death march go ahead.
Speaker 8 (25:47):
I mean what we've seen from thee if the Dodgers
are just going to not have to use their bullpen,
then yeah.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
It's gonna be rough.
Speaker 8 (25:55):
Like they're going to start the closer Basically, it's gonna
be real rough right now.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Dodgers might want to lose a game or two in
the World Series on purpose or else they're gonna run
themselves right into a salary cap. I'm not even kidding.
I'm not even kidding, But anyway.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
Go ahead.
Speaker 8 (26:10):
Sunday Night Football, eight minutes, thirty four seconds left in
the first quarter, scoreless thus far, Mac Jones with two
completion seventeen yards. Michael Pennix and the Falcons Day want
three and out in their possession. They're getting the ball
back when we get back from commercial.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Break Back to you guys, Okay, Ranks, Martin Yep, great stuff.
Appreciate Martin Wise be with us all night Fox Sports
Radio Studios along with ephrom Salaam.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
I'm Mark Wheellard.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
We can play with that for a little bit, just
for a sec. Like, I mean, listen, I get it.
I know, like I had a Dodger fan pull me aside.
I'm at a My wife and I are out grabbing
a appetizer and a pop on Friday night and shoe
hey o Tani is doing his like I'm gonna strike
everybody out in Homer every time I hit it and
if that's not enough for you, what if one of
(26:56):
them just goes into the parking lot of a stadium
where you don't do that. One of the more epic
individual performances we've ever seen, And there's a cat in
the restaurant with a big Dodger jersey on right in
the middle of San Francisco Baharia, and he and his
dad are chanting and having a fun But what the
kid approaches me and apparently he listens to the show,
(27:17):
so he's like, Hey, how's this feel for Giants fans?
And I'm like, I was straight with him. I'm like,
I'm about a couple drinks. This feels like crap, is
how it feels like it's not fun? But then we
got into the conversation with the bigger picture, with what
the Dodgers are doing, and he was upset because he's like,
I get tired of people talking about buying a championship,
(27:39):
because how is this different than what the Yankees used
to do when they were on a.
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Dynastic Are the Mets have been trying to do anybody else?
Speaker 7 (27:50):
So?
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Is that sour grapes? No question.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
I did have two thoughts though, that I wanted to
run by you one to compare it to the Yankees,
which was largely built the Jeters, the Posadas, the the Petits.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
One thing, I think that that does.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Sort of make people from the outside look at the
Dodgers team and you realize, like almost none of them
were Dodger farm hands.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
You got like Will Smith, but.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Like even with Kershaw being phased out, the whole pitching
staff is free agents from show Hey Yamamoto, Max Munci,
Freddie Freman, Mookie Bets. And I think that that gives
it a certain vibe to other people. And then the
second part of it from is just timing. It's timing
(28:39):
of the fact that there is going there. There is
so much disagreement on the labor front, and the haves
and the have nots is sort of a bigger It's
a bigger deal. I mean, Pittsburgh's over here like, yeah,
we should probably trade Paul Skins and You're like what,
and and so I just I wonder, I wonder about
the timing, especially if they steer rolled through this. And
(29:02):
Jeff Passing did say last week is like, if the
Dodgers win the World Series, it literally might open up
the door to a salary cap I'm curious.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
No, because all of the other examples you've given didn't
lead to that. Look at the Mets, look at their payroll.
They didn't even make the playoffs. Sure, so you still
have to be able to You can go out and
get talent, but you still got to put it together,
(29:36):
no doubt, you still.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
Have to.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Look and even where would you start with the salary cap?
And then you have teams you'd have to put a
ceiling in the floor in because you still have teams
spending the bare minimum.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
That to me, that's how That's the only way you
could even conceivably get it done, would be to offer
the players union a salary floor as well.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
Right, Like, if anybody's mad at the Dodgers, like the
A's are way more offensive than the.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
Dodgers a mile. Yeah, like the Dodgers.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
I mean, let's be real, Yeah, Dodgers have done a
great job of taking advantage of what is in front
of them, and you can argue with what is in
front of them. I don't think the public actually knew
you could defer this much money.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
I don't think we knew that, And.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Now that you do, I'm sort of mad at all
the other teams for not doing it, not mad at
the Dodgers for doing it, But I also have questions
about whether or not that should be allowed. Should that
be the way I you know, I think that's a
fair question.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Guess what the Dodgers have made baseball more watchable beyond exciting? Yeah,
other teams.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
Although you say that, but you say that as a
Dodger fan.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
No, but even if I wasn't a Dodger. But I
would even if I wasn't a Dodger fan, right, Like,
I can watch a game like I'm watching this game now,
game recognized game. I watched the Yankees, I've watched the
Padres like I. You recognize greatness when you see it. Yep,
(31:22):
no matter where it comes from, no matter what team
is exhibiting it. And so on the flip side of
what the Dodgers have put together, you have teams like
the A's, You have teams like the White Sox. You
have teams that just are there. What's the point. Isn't
(31:43):
sports supposed to be exciting? Isn't it supposed, especially when
you have a system in place where the excitement doesn't
come from the draft. Right. What basketball and football have
is the excitement of the draft because we get to
(32:03):
see those players today.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
Right, you can have.
Speaker 3 (32:09):
A first pick in the draft or a first rounder
in baseball and we won't see them for five years exactly.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
But you also, if ever, but when you said what
do baseball what do they not have that football and
basketball have? There's also another answer to that question, and
it is at least some form of a soft cap.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
I get that.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
And in football it's a hard cap.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
And that creates that It creates where Green Bay, Wisconsin
can compete with New York and LA and that like,
that's that is a thing.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
Also, that's a thing.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
So then owners need to be more creative. For sure,
they need to bring in more partners. They need to
be more creative. That's legitimately what needs to happen. Look
what the Lakers just did, right. The Lakers have been
the Lakers forever, They've been in the Bus family forever.
(33:02):
They were just sold for eleven million dollars or ten
million dollars.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
Yeah, yeah, billion.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
So excuse me, ten billion dollars.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
I was like, I'll buy it, right because million.
Speaker 3 (33:12):
And guess what's gonna happen with the Lakers Now? Things
are going to change sure.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
Sure, but that's another team that has every resource in
the world.
Speaker 3 (33:21):
I think what we're looking they really have it now.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
Yeah, we're looking for a balance between the owner that
hides behind.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
I have no resources, even though you do.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
But then the realistic nature of the fact that there
are some teams in cities that do have more resources,
access to free agents, et cetera, great weather, good stability.
There's resources there that not all teams have. I'd love
to find the balance. Yeah, to me, salary cop salary floor,
(33:52):
that's the answer. I don't know that we're going to
get there anytime soon, but anyway, Yeah, we keep talking
that out also, So back to the NFL, we'll keep
you up to date here on Sunday night. Falcons and
Niners remain scoreless here in the first quarter with e
from Salama Mark Willard.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
It's Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (34:12):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live there.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
Falcons getting close to the red zone, got a first
down just outside it. We are in these Fox Sports
Radio studios. That's he from Salam. I'm Mark Willard. The
first quarter is over, scoreless Sunday Night football. We will
keep you up to date. Martin Wise will be along
shortly in about ten minutes give you the update on
everything that's going on out at about. We've also got
(34:51):
three things coming up at the top of the hour,
our top three observations of the day.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
I don't know about you, he from.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
I got a lot of stuff sitting on my cutting
room floor here today.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
I had to whittled down to only get to three out.
Speaker 2 (35:07):
There's so much you can dive into it, right, my goodness,
so much. Let me ask you this one though, is
Drake May the next big thing?
Speaker 3 (35:19):
I think Drake May is outstanding, But I think Drake
May with Mike Vrabel is the next big thing. That's
what I think, because we've seen Drake May without Mike Craig.
But he was a rookie, yes, But what I'm saying
(35:41):
is he looks different. Sure, and that's it. That's a
real thing, right, That's a real thing. Remember Josh Allen
his rookie year.
Speaker 1 (35:52):
Yeah, it was all over the place.
Speaker 3 (35:54):
And then remember he wasn't Yep, Like that's a real
tangible thing. And the reason he wasn't wasn't because of
Brian day Ball. That's what got him a head coaching job.
But what he did for Josh Allen, who had the talent,
had the same arm strength, had the same physicality, is
(36:16):
he created a safe environment for him to grow. Now
he went from like fifty six percent completion to seventy
or seventy one, something crazy, someone had never done before.
And it matters. Coaching matters. That relationship matters.
Speaker 1 (36:36):
Now.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
Brian day Ball wasn't the head coach, but that relationship
he had with him matters. And when I watched Drake
May at New England, which was has been a dumpster fire.
And I see what Mike rabel has done in that
locker room on that team with Drake May, I'm yeah,
(36:57):
them two together, yes, absolutely go to remember this is
the first time Mike Rabels ever had a quarterback of
this caliber.
Speaker 1 (37:04):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
Ever, the Patriots are five and two, they are four
and oh on the road this year, Drake May had
two in completions today.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
Two.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
He set a record, in fact, all time New England
Patriots record for completion percentage in a football game. I
don't know if any of you have heard of any
other quarterbacks who played for the Patriots through the years,
but none of them ever did what Drake may did today.
Twenty one of twenty three, he did not turn the
(37:40):
ball over, goes for two hundred and twenty two yards,
two scores. Drake May also rushes for sixty two yards.
And I think what you're saying, man, I mean, that's
an extension of the point we've been talking.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
About all year long.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
This year, to me, is the poster season for people
to really understand the import It's not just of coaching.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
But the program.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
Look at all the quarterbacks around the league who are
doing well, and you can attribute it to a different program,
whether it be Mac Jones subbing in here in San Francisco,
whether it be what you're seeing Daniel Jones do rebirthed
in in Indianapolis. We've talked so much about Baker Mayfield
(38:24):
being in the the MVP race. So many guys around
the league who have kind of been kicked to the
curb by teams are suddenly looking good this year.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
And it's because of what you're talking about in that program.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
Yeah, it's it's stability, man Like, when when you're not
worried about there's a fire outside, and you could just
focus on you and getting better. It makes a huge difference.
Case in point, I look and see what's going on
with cam Ward in Tennessee. Yeah, there's a fire outside,
(38:59):
so you're just trying to survive the flames now until
someone can come in there and write that ship and
put out that fire so he can begin to get better.
I mean, he's turned the ball over every single game
he's played in the NFL, and in some cases multiple times.
So there's a fire because there's there's a void there
(39:23):
and so until that fire is put out, head coach
is gone, introim coach in there. Coordinators will be going soon.
It's different. Look what happened to mac Jones speaking of
New England. The fire was inside, not outside.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
Well, they gave him a good lord. They gave him
a defensive coordinator. It's one of the funnier things that's
ever happened actually in recent memory of the NFL, especially
considering that he was part of a great program and he.
Speaker 1 (40:02):
Came in as a rookie and made the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (40:04):
All right, Coming up next, I want to get to
the quarterback who now has me worried about him.
Speaker 1 (40:10):
That's coming up.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
Next, Falcons find their way into the red zone.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
It stalls. They put up three.
Speaker 2 (40:19):
The forty nine ers now just about to move into
the red zone until a tip ball gets picked off
and is headed.
Speaker 1 (40:27):
The other way.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
So one team makes good on their red zone trip,
the other has just given it away.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
That was not on Mac Jones.
Speaker 2 (40:36):
That was on Juwan Jennings who bobbled the ball right
to a Falcon.
Speaker 1 (40:40):
We'll keep you up to date on this one throughout
the night.
Speaker 2 (40:44):
Falcons and Niners on Sunday Night Football were broadcasting live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. And a reminder that
during the baseball postseason, Strauss made history as the first
brand ever on the Helmets family owned since nineteen forty eight.
Strauss work where build to perform, smart pocket design, real
comfort and durability you can trust, from grit to Gloria.
(41:05):
Gear up today at Strauss dot com. That's st r
au Ss dot com. We're gonna get to three things
in just a moment, our top three observations that we
want to talk about after a day of watching football.
But I want to start with your reaction just to
what we've seen so far in this one tonight that
(41:27):
run game for the Niners that we talked about, looks
like it is starting.
Speaker 1 (41:32):
It's percolating a little bit. It does look better.
Speaker 2 (41:36):
It took the Niners into scoring position just there, but
ball security didn't work out.
Speaker 3 (41:41):
Yeah, it looks like they're getting back to what made
them who they were. The injuries aside. You gotta put
that pressure on opposing defenses. You gotta win the line
of scrimage. That's why I went on my whole little
soliloquy at the beginning of the show of them starting
with the five to seven step drop passing the ball.
That's not what you want. Don't become something that you're not.
(42:03):
You got to backup quarterback in there, and you got
hurt receivers all over the place. Put the onus on
the guys up front. That's why it looks different.
Speaker 1 (42:12):
Now.
Speaker 3 (42:12):
This tip pass, of course, wasn't Matt Jones' fault. Juwan
Jennings let it bounce off off his hands into the
waiting arms of the linebacker. But what you want to
do is instill confidence in those guys up front and say, hey,
we're going to win this game if it's on you. Now,
Robert Salah has done a yeoman's job without you know,
(42:32):
all world players. He's putting together a great defensive is
now that that second drive for Atlanta was a long drive,
but they only yielded three points. So it's the whole
bend and not break philosophy which works especially when you're
missing two dogs. Are not even too a few dogs
(42:54):
ye on the defensive side of the ball. So look,
it's let us be who you are, don't reinvent the will,
and rely on the guys that you practice with all week.
Speaker 2 (43:09):
Even the guy who is technically filling in for Fred Warner,
a second year player, seventh round pick by the name
of Tatum Bethune. I'm not sure if he's back out
on the field yet, but he already left this football game.
I think I see him back out there, but he
left the football game momentarily because of a neck issue.
So it's a constant flow. But we'll keep an eye
(43:33):
on this one for you.
Speaker 1 (43:33):
For sure. Off to an interesting start.
Speaker 2 (43:36):
Three nothing for the Falcons early in the second quarter.
We do it at this time, six Pacific, nine in
the East, every single Sunday night. Three Things, our top
three observations of the entire football week and Football Day
and we get to put them all out and get
a little reaction from our partner.
Speaker 1 (43:55):
So let's do it.
Speaker 2 (43:56):
Here we go three things, and as always, you're the
big finish, so I'll go first. And here's the first
one I want to talk about. I'm worried about Jayden Daniels.
This is, gosh, one of the more exciting rookie years
that we saw in a while last year for this player,
(44:16):
and we get it. He is a mobile quarterback, and
mobile quarterbacks are always going to be watched in terms
of health and how they go about it, what they're
doing with their body. Now, the injury today didn't necessarily
have anything to do with him running out in open space,
but this is a hamstring injury.
Speaker 1 (44:38):
It doesn't look like a good one.
Speaker 2 (44:40):
He's already missed some time this year, he missed some
time last year and even played hurt at times, and
now it certainly feels like he's going.
Speaker 1 (44:51):
To miss some more time again.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
And there's been so much made about injuries across the
league this year. Lamar Jackson in the midst of me
same time. But at a certain point you start to
get curious about whether or not a player's style works
with everything else he's doing throwing a little luck, good
luck or bad luck, and you wonder about the longevity
(45:16):
of certain players. And I sit here right now worried
about Jadeen Daniel's ability to stay healthy in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (45:25):
Yeah. He he is a mobile of running quarterback, but
he's very frail, and I think that was one of
the big knocks coming out of college was that he's thin,
and he is elusive, and he can move and he
will get out of the way, but when he does
take hits, it's a lot. And coming off the knee
injury now into a hamstring injury, there's something to be
(45:47):
said about overcompensation. Once you hurt something, other things work
a little bit harder to write that something. And it
could be one of those situations where he's on the
shelf again for another two three weeks, depending on how
severe that is, which is awful. It's awful for the Commanders.
(46:13):
This was a game that they could have had today
and it just it's hard to do it when you
come into the game and you have to insert your
backup quarterback during the game. Now, if they have a
week to prepare and so on and so forth, that's
a different situation. But other than that, it's really tough
(46:34):
to do for me. I said this a couple of weeks.
I maybe even talked about it last week, but I'm
going to keep saying it until people realize what's happening.
Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis Colts are a team no
(46:59):
team in the NFL wants to see. If you can't score,
you don't have a shot. They're going it. Justin Herbert
case in point. Justin Herbert through for four hundred and
(47:23):
twenty yards and three touchdowns today and lost by two scores. Yep,
that's how efficient this team is. Daniel Jones, Jonathan Taylor,
they're a His ability to spread the ball around five receptions,
(47:47):
four receptions, seven receptions, three receptions, and a bunch of ones.
His command of the offense, the flow of the offense.
I'm telling you, it reminds me of what we saw.
I mentioned him earlier, Josh Allen his first year, and
then he turned up completely someone else. It just took
Daniel Jones a little bit longer and a new zip code,
(48:10):
a new state for him to really become who he's become.
Now you can say, oh, well it's this and it's
that they don't have a bunch of I mean, Michael
Pittman junior, right, right, is he on anyone's radar for
the all problem? Tyler Warren at the rookie Yeah, I
(48:31):
mean and Alec Pierce, who's that great?
Speaker 1 (48:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (48:34):
Josh Downs was out today, but yeah, like I mean,
that's not a who's who?
Speaker 1 (48:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (48:41):
No, he's not throwing he's not. He's not Joe Flacco
throwing to two of the top five receivers in the league.
Speaker 1 (48:48):
Right.
Speaker 3 (48:50):
So, look, Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis Colts, if you
are not taking them serious, then good luck if they're
on your schedule.
Speaker 2 (48:57):
Two quick questions about them. Do you view the Colts
as a Super Bowl contender?
Speaker 3 (49:03):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (49:05):
And how far away.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
Are we from the Colts deciding that that's their QB.
Speaker 1 (49:12):
That's the QB of the future, not just the now.
Speaker 3 (49:15):
Oh. I they will if they want to see this
thing play out. But after this year, if you have
some designs on moving off Daniel Jones, you will not
have if things hold court, right, we still got a
whole second half of the season to go. But if
things stay pat you're not going to have a high
(49:37):
draft pick for a quarterback, So build the team. This
is a perfect opportunity.
Speaker 1 (49:45):
Build a team.
Speaker 3 (49:46):
Yep, do not let your offensive coordinator go and build
the team around him and ride that train period, all right.
Speaker 2 (49:58):
Number two for me, it appears that the Dolphins players
want Mike McDaniel to be fine. This is not a surprise,
but it's very rare that you see something play out
this way, from a war of words throughout the week
in press conferences to a calling out the leadership, the
(50:22):
quote unquote leadership of the organization, then Mike McDaniel saying
he was misguided with those comments, to a then coming
into apologize, followed by Tua showing up in Cleveland. Yes,
it's a good defense, that's fine, But when you lose
to the Cleveland Browns by twenty five points, one hundred
(50:42):
yards and three picks and a couple of them, I swore,
I'm like, Tua, do you mean to throw that to
the Browns like you're throwing picks when there isn't even
a dolphin.
Speaker 1 (50:54):
In the area.
Speaker 2 (50:55):
That was definitely one of the top five most uninspired
performances I've seen from a football team so far this year.
And uh, it is mildly surprising. That we haven't heard
the announcement already.
Speaker 3 (51:12):
I thought I thought we would have had breaking news today.
I mean during the show today.
Speaker 2 (51:16):
Seriously, like you Florida loses to Stanford, it's like you're gone.
And this from an NFL version felt the same. We'll
see about tomorrow. I'm not I like Mike McDaniel. I'm
not after anything. I'm just telling you what I saw today.
And I saw a team that had no interest in
playing football.
Speaker 1 (51:36):
No, that's what I saw.
Speaker 3 (51:36):
And he's lost the locker room. It's it's a it's
it's literally a poop show over there. Like it's hard
to watch. They're playing uninspired football. Are the Browns that
much better than you are? One in five Browns that
(51:57):
much better than you? Well, they put up thirty one
A rookie quarterback puts up thirty one points, Like I
just I it's over now. I know Mike McDaniels, I know.
I've known him since he was an assistant at Houston.
He's a brilliant mind. He's going to be a tremendous
(52:20):
offensive coordinator for someone next year. But in terms of
a head coach, there needs to be more structure there
and they need another quarterback. I believe the toul experiment
is done. It's done. You need to we need to
revamp this thing. It's not but we've seen teams get
(52:44):
from under not easy contracts Denver Broncos. So there's a
way out if you can stomach taking it.
Speaker 2 (52:56):
Dead cap hit after this season for to what will
be fifty six was rustling for mores more.
Speaker 1 (53:06):
Yeah, it was more than that. Yep, yep, yep, yep.
Speaker 3 (53:09):
Gotta get from under it, man, got to get it
out of there.
Speaker 1 (53:12):
All right, what's your number two?
Speaker 3 (53:13):
Number two? I'd be remisi if I didn't talk about
the Denver Broncos and what they were able to do today.
Speaker 1 (53:17):
Go for it.
Speaker 3 (53:18):
It just you know, as a former Bronco, I'm always
rooting for the teams I played for, yep. And watching
them do absolutely nothing for the majority of the game
and then storm back the way that they did and
score thirty three points, the last three coming in the
(53:40):
last seconds of the game was tremendous. And shout out
to to Sean Payton, who was a coach of Miya
at San Diego State. Shout out to bow Knicks to
just keep your head down and keep going. It's those
are tough games to play in because you feel like
(54:02):
nothing is going right when you can go and look.
New York had all the energy, they had, all the punch,
they had, all the everything you would want, and they
Denver just wouldn't go away. They just wouldn't go away.
And they have bo Nicks sit up there, throw the
ball fifty times fifty times, only be sacked twice, no picks,
(54:27):
and get them in a position to win that game.
You know, shout out to them and what they're building
in Denver because it's something special and it happened really fast.
You got to remember, this kid's in his second year
and they've already been to the playoffs with.
Speaker 2 (54:44):
Them real nice, real real nice. Yeah, and the Giants
they helped them out a little bit. But that's how
it works. And you're not wrong. The Denver Broncos. We
always see a couple of teams each year where you
can see the difference between a really good record and
a really bad record is just like a play here
(55:04):
or there.
Speaker 1 (55:05):
The Broncos look like that team this year.
Speaker 2 (55:07):
They've been facing double digit deficits in the fourth quarter multiple.
Speaker 1 (55:11):
Weeks in a row. They keep finding a way to
win that's.
Speaker 2 (55:13):
Usually how you build a special season, so it's really
really cool to watch. Okay, before I get to number three,
would just like to point out that the forty nine
ers are averaging seven point two yards per carry on
the ground. Seven point two yards per carry on the ground.
I think the team would like to welcome George Kittle
back into the fold. All right, My number three is Aphraim.
(55:39):
I am not sure why the Vikings seem to think
that Carson Wentz is playing well. I keep caring that
JJ McCarthy is closed to ready.
Speaker 1 (55:52):
There's a chefter tweet today it's like he's not ready.
Speaker 2 (55:55):
He's supposed to be six weeks and it has him
in six weeks and it's almost like no, what he asks, like,
why are you explaining.
Speaker 1 (56:02):
This to me?
Speaker 2 (56:03):
The Vikings feel like they're playing a game. They feel
like they want you to believe that JJ McCarthy is
very unhealthy and that's why they're sticking with Carson Wentz.
Speaker 1 (56:14):
But the sort of haha under.
Speaker 2 (56:16):
The covers is we don't really think that JJ's playing
that well or he's not ready, so let's stick with
Carson Wentz because he's got us on a roll. Well,
he had won two of three games, and one of
them was a come from behind job overseas against Cleveland.
And I've watched all of this, and I watched again
today against Philadelphia with two awful interceptions early in the
(56:39):
game that put them in a hole that they almost.
Speaker 1 (56:41):
Crawled out of, but they didn't.
Speaker 2 (56:44):
And so Wentz throws for his three hundred and thirteen yards,
but he does not get any touchdowns. He turns the
ball over twice, he fumbled once, even though he didn't
lose it. That kind of ball security does not work
in the NFL, and it was clearly the difference in
this football game won by the Philadelphia Eagles. So much
(57:04):
for a revenge game for Carson. Someone helped me out
with this. The Vikings are not in the midst of
a Super Bowl window. You're not gonna win it with
JJ McCarthy or Carson Wentz. So why not get your
guy some backing, some support and talk him up a
little bit. It's not like Carson is playing well. Stop
(57:24):
telling us that he is.
Speaker 1 (57:26):
He's not.
Speaker 3 (57:27):
Yeah, I don't think they like JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 1 (57:30):
I agree with you. It's the only thing that this
could mean.
Speaker 3 (57:34):
Yeah, I don't think they're happy with his progression. You
gotta remember he was out all last year. He's hurt again.
This is trending in a bad way right now. This
is trending somewhere they didn't foresee. I know they're kicking
themselves and not signing back Sam Donald. I thought Sam
(57:59):
was t indous form. He's tremendous for Seattle right now.
And they're stuck with Mike McCarthy, whether he's good or not.
And I think they're just trying to buy it as
much time as they possibly can, because what's the alternative
(58:22):
to really get him out there and get him exposed
more or let him get all the way healthy, which
is crazy because if you're struggling that quarterback, as soon
as your quarterback is ready to go a little bit,
you you, you get him out there. And if if
(58:45):
they don't have the confidence in him, we can all
tell they're doing a poor job of hiding it. I'll
leave it at that. Indeed, Uh for my third, I'm
sure anybody who's been watching us and listening to us this,
I'm sure they know where I'm going with this. And
this is the Los Angeles Dodgers. What they've been doing
(59:07):
in the playoffs this year has been unreal. That starting pitcher,
the starting pitching, excuse me for the Dodgers are worth
every penny they are. Can you this lineup that they're
rolling out there is I mean, it's got to have
teams going crazy yep and show Hey o Tani brother.
(59:33):
Let me tell you this, no one has ever seen
anything like this. I'm talking about you had bad. You
have baseball announcers who've been I mean, they've lived this,
they've been in this, they know the history, they've studied.
They're like, this is the greatest baseball player we've ever
seen ever. Now, there are some people who will walk
(59:55):
back at that. My neighbor Jack is like, come on,
Willie May he come on like he's throwing out names,
And what I'm telling him is, I'm like, hey, look
at your sow down man, Babe, Ruth. I'm like, okay, right,
what show is is doing right now? Where you can
(01:00:17):
go and pitch six innings, give up nothing and hit
three home runs? Come on in the middle of you
doing that.
Speaker 1 (01:00:30):
Come on, what.
Speaker 3 (01:00:34):
Is happening?
Speaker 1 (01:00:35):
How old your neighbor He's thirty six?
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
Okay, then Jack, It's a very very easy response here
stop yelling Willie Mays, and for God's sakes, please stop
yelling Babe Ruth, because you didn't see.
Speaker 1 (01:00:51):
Them play ever, so you have no idea what the hell.
Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
That looked like or what that felt like. The back
of the baseball card can tell you something. Maybe your
great grandpa can tell you something.
Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
But what are we doing here?
Speaker 2 (01:01:06):
I don't really love to compare errors for that reason,
I have no idea what to compare this too when
it comes to Willie Mays or Honus Wagner or like.
Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
What are we doing? I'll tell you we on planet
Earth right now have never seen anything.
Speaker 3 (01:01:21):
Like that ever period. If you put in any error.
Speaker 2 (01:01:27):
In any eraror they wouldn't know what to do with it,
what they wouldn't know what to do with him? Yeah,
well man, that's fair, that's real fair. Three things off
the top of the sixth last nine o'clock hour, every
single Sunday throughout the NFL season, two minute warning of
(01:01:48):
the football game Niners are threatening down three to nothing,
Martin Wise would be along with an update shortly with
hem from Salama Mark.
Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
Ward and this is Fox Sports Radio when.
Speaker 2 (01:01:58):
Live in the Fox Sports Radio studios. Christian McCaffrey up
the middle for a one yard touchdown run, and the
forty nine Ers have a seven to three lead and
a sock fumble on Michael Pennix has just given them
the ball back again with just under a minute to
(01:02:19):
half to go in the first half.
Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
And I'll tell you what, man, you brought this up.
Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
I want to bring it up again and talk it
out with you after Martin Weiss gets in here, because
Robert Solomon, Robert sala is doing some things and it's
pretty impressive. But we'll get to all of that and
much more. I got a Cardinals question that's maybe not
(01:02:49):
the sexiest tease I've ever had in my life, But
I got a Cardinals question for you. But the only
question I really want to ask right now is.
Speaker 1 (01:02:58):
Is Martin Weiss ready to go? Yes, sir, I am.
Speaker 8 (01:03:02):
And this is the forty nine ers offenses. They come
back out on the field just under ninety seconds left
in the first half. That Sackphombele was forced by Bryce
Huff four number forty seven for the forty nine ers
getting home on that as mac Jones drops back to
pass on first and ten and completes a pass to
Kendrick Bourne seven to three.
Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
The score here.
Speaker 8 (01:03:22):
Christman McCaffrey had a one yard touchdown run earlier in
the second quarter, Parker Roummel at.
Speaker 3 (01:03:28):
A field goal.
Speaker 8 (01:03:29):
First quarter was scoreless Atlanta right now with less than
one hundred yards of total offense. Michael Pennis was seventy
one yards passing b John Robinson twenty two rushing, Mac
Jones seventy yards passing on eight completions, and he has
turned the ball over once on an interception. Christian McCaffrey
with twelve carries for seventy six yards a long of fifteen.
The forty nine ers you were talking about, they were
(01:03:49):
having trouble running the ball well today so far as
a team, seventeen carries for I'm sorry, say yeah, seventeen
carries for a one hundred yards and a touchdown. In
ALCS Game six, the Blue Jays and the Mariners Seattle
with a three to two lead. But this one's been
all Toronto thus far. Four nothing Blue Jays. In the
top of the fifth inning, the Mariners had the bases
(01:04:11):
loaded back to back innings and rookie pitcher Treya Savage
able to get out of the jam with double plays
in both of them to keep the Mariners scoreless thus far.
Addison Barser with a two run homer in the third inning.
Speaker 3 (01:04:24):
He's got three rbi so far.
Speaker 8 (01:04:27):
So top of the fifth inning, Blue Jays, four Mariners,
nothing manners, leading that series three to two, and looks
like mac Jones just might have fumbled the ball or
tried to throw a pass to an offensive lineman. Mark
Willard and he from salam I'll let you guys figure
that and went out that happened whatever that was on
third down in San Francisco.
Speaker 3 (01:04:44):
Back to you guys, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
Martin, thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
We are live in these Fox Sports radio studios, and yeah,
we'll have to get that figured out. It was caught
by an offensive lineman as the arm was hit coming through.
So in that particular case, I think the Niners hope
it was a fumble, right, yeah, because if it's a pass,
you know, not allowed.
Speaker 3 (01:05:04):
To catch that, which I think is a shame.
Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
That's a good point. Why don't you riff on that
for a second, big Man.
Speaker 3 (01:05:12):
No, I think we should. No, No, no, I can't.
I can't because I know us and a good majority
of us have no business near the ball. I used
to tell my nephews. Used to be like, you know,
uncle E, did you you score a touchdown in the NFL? No, no, no,
I said, if I ever touched the ball, something is
going horribly wrong. And and and that's the fact of
(01:05:35):
the matter.
Speaker 1 (01:05:37):
Even if you recover of fumble, it means one of.
Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
You has gone horribly wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
Well, the players under review, so we'll we'll let you
know what's going on. And now as I mean the ball, Oh,
that is a weird one. That is a weird one.
The ball got hit as he was lifting his arm
to throw, but he's still sort of had control of it.
And then the arm is definitely coming forward, but I
don't know if the ball is already kind of moving
around in his hand and then it pinballs around, it
(01:06:08):
ends up in the hands of an offensive lineman. He
falls down. The Niners are in long field goal range.
I don't know. I don't know. You want to you
want to throw anything at this?
Speaker 3 (01:06:17):
Yeah, I think it's a it's a fumble.
Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
I think it's a fumble. I think it's good for
the Niners.
Speaker 3 (01:06:21):
Great, it's great. Big fellow got him a couple of
car a couple of yards on the fumble recovery. So
you know, but look, I'm I'm the forty nine ers
are playing motivated football right now. Uh, the defense is
playing extremely well for some turnovers. The run game is
(01:06:42):
back to what it was. Thank you Kittle, thank you George,
and so like. Look, if they can continue to win
these games until they get all the way healthy, they're
going to be exactly what they want to be come December.
Speaker 2 (01:07:00):
Well, I would say this about this particular football game
because I'll agree with everything that you just said and
also add that there is a report from Diana Russini
that both Brock Purdy and Ricky Piersoll are expected back
next week as they go visit another one of your
ex teams, the Houston Texans, next Sunday. I can't wait
to talk that one out with you because that's an
(01:07:21):
early game next Sunday, so that one's going to be
real interesting. Houston will be coming off of a short week.
They play tomorrow night in Seattle. But this particular game
for me represents almost everything with regard to whether or
not the forty nine ers should kind of go for
(01:07:43):
something at the trade deadline or not. Because I know
you and I talked about this briefly last week. You
always got to help your team out when they're winning games,
There's no doubt about it. But I also like anything
at the top of the market. First round pick, second
round pick to me. With Fred Warner and Nick.
Speaker 1 (01:08:01):
Posta both gone, you take that off of the table.
Speaker 2 (01:08:04):
I am not leveraging my future to go after a
Super Bowl when your two best players on defense are
not coming back.
Speaker 1 (01:08:14):
I just I wouldn't do that.
Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
But if your team shows on Sunday Night football, you
know that you could win a football game against a
pretty decent team, like a good offense. If you can
win a football game without Fred Warner and Nick Bosa,
knowing that the offense, as you just said, should be
(01:08:37):
getting healthier, then I at least go shopping.
Speaker 1 (01:08:42):
I might not go shopping at Bloomingdale's. I'm a shop.
Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
Well at least maybe even Northstrom, but you know, like
I'm gonna go shopping, I'm gonna try to help my
team out.
Speaker 1 (01:08:58):
I'm not going to go big, but I am going
to go.
Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
All right. Forty nine ers fifty six yard field goal.
Speaker 2 (01:09:09):
Eddie Piniero has not missed a field goal since joining
the forty.
Speaker 3 (01:09:13):
Nine Man Welcome to the team.
Speaker 2 (01:09:14):
But yeah, yeah, he's missed an extra point and he
almost missed an extra point.
Speaker 1 (01:09:18):
Ten minutes ago.
Speaker 3 (01:09:19):
To get it together, but the.
Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
Field goals, they go through the yellow things.
Speaker 3 (01:09:25):
That's large.
Speaker 1 (01:09:27):
Yes, they do, ask ask New York.
Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
Yeah, man, I think that when people look at the
forty nine ers the last couple of years. You know this,
everybody loves to yell about the quarterback the last two
years one way or another. I thought Steve Wilkes was
a great is a great coach, but was not the
right fit. And then last year's defensive coordinator, Nick Sorenson
was just completely in over his head.
Speaker 1 (01:09:52):
They have brought Robert Salad.
Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
Back, and if he can have anybody even look like
this for a half without Fred Warner and Nick bos
call me impressed. And Bryce Huff who just made that play,
was a hand selected trade target for the Niners because
Bryce had been with Robert with the Jets and been
very successful and uh and now here that is paying dividends.
Speaker 3 (01:10:15):
Yeah, and you know it was unfortunate for Nick Sorenson.
I know, Nick, I played with Nick, good guy, great guy,
great teammate, But you know, Robert Salad coming back for
the Niners was huge because even as the Jets coach,
(01:10:37):
he was a good coach. He just ran into a
bunch of circumstances that he couldn't control and it just
wasn't conduced. I don't think it's conducive to anybody.
Speaker 1 (01:10:48):
Yep. And I know who you mean when you say
the word circumstances.
Speaker 3 (01:10:53):
Hey, man, I know what you mean.
Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
Everybody knows his name. He quarterbacks for the Steelers.
Speaker 3 (01:10:57):
Now, it's just one of those situations. Was pretty much
a lose lose. I mean, they've done nothing but regress
since he was fired, especially defensively. And so the one
thing we would say about the Jets or any team
Robert Solid coaches, they're gonna fight. They gonna step up
(01:11:19):
and they're gonna punch you in the mouth and they're
gonna fight. And you just don't have that from them
like I and and I pride myself on every week
saying I watch every single game, and I'm gonna be honest,
I think I maybe watched three plays of the Carolina
(01:11:43):
Jets game.
Speaker 1 (01:11:44):
Yeah, it was hard. It was hard to take in, man.
Speaker 3 (01:11:47):
Like I just didn't have any space for for that
game on my docket today.
Speaker 2 (01:11:55):
So I mean, have the Jets won five football games
since Robert Salad was fired?
Speaker 3 (01:12:07):
No, I doubt that they haven't won any this year.
Speaker 1 (01:12:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:12:12):
I mean, maybe I shouldn't have asked that. I don't
know that they won five all of last year period.
I don't remember what their record was.
Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
No one does. Yeah, not even Jets fans.
Speaker 2 (01:12:21):
But Justin Field's got benched in this football game today.
Speaker 3 (01:12:27):
Yep, that happened. That happened so and I didn't know.
I just turned it. I was like, hey, what happened
to just hmm, it's weird, It's not in there, okay, right,
moving on.
Speaker 1 (01:12:39):
Yeah, yeah, you did not get hurt.
Speaker 2 (01:12:42):
Torod Taylor was just inserted into the football game. And
the Jets got two field goals today and and then that.
Speaker 1 (01:12:49):
Was the end of that.
Speaker 3 (01:12:51):
Yeah. And what happened to Bryce.
Speaker 1 (01:12:55):
Ankle?
Speaker 3 (01:12:56):
Oh yeah, okay. I was watching two backups go against
each other. Yeah, and he's plays and I just went
on switched it right.
Speaker 2 (01:13:03):
On off Andy Dalton and to Rod Taylor is like
an old Bengals Ravens game from the AFC North but
nowhere near is fun anyway? Rolling along here on Week
seven in the National Football League almost halftime Niners and Falcons.
(01:13:24):
Niners up ten to three, Falcons are threatening. We will
keep you up to date on that. We do need
to discuss the Chiefs the Colts. I have that Cardinals
question for you. We'll do that coming up in just
a second. Quick reminder, if you've seen that red Ostris
logo on professional baseball postseason helmets that Strauss family owned
(01:13:46):
since nineteen forty eight and trusted by pros worldwide, pants
built like tools, durable, comfortable engineer to perform from grit
to glory.
Speaker 1 (01:13:54):
Gear up now at Strauss dot com.
Speaker 2 (01:13:57):
That's st r a u SS with E from Salama.
Speaker 1 (01:14:01):
Mark Willard. This is Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
I mean, maybe it's a weird time to ask, but
I don't think so. Like the Arizona Cardinals, they lost
today and they lost last week. Now they've actually lost
five weeks in a row. But that's not the point.
(01:14:27):
I want to focus on the last two weeks where
they went to Indianapolis, a team that you have said
tonight is a Super Bowl contender. They went to Indianapolis
and gave them everything they could handle and a high
scoring final of thirty one to twenty seven. And then
today they took on an NFC high level Green Bay
(01:14:50):
Packer team, and yes, Jordan Love and the Packers did
their thing in the fourth quarter and came away with
a narrow victory, again a high scoring football game, fifty
points in this game, twenty seven to twenty three. This week,
Jacoby Brissett threw for two hundred and seventy nine yards.
He had two touchdown throws. He did not throw a
(01:15:12):
pick in the uh the aforementioned game against the Indianapolis
Colts and the close loss there, Jacoby Brissett threw for
three hundred and twenty yards and he was picked once,
but he also had a couple of touchdown runs nineteen
yards on the ground.
Speaker 1 (01:15:33):
I wonder if you get what I'm getting at.
Speaker 3 (01:15:35):
Oh, I get it, I get what you're poking at.
Speaker 2 (01:15:39):
The whole world wants to scream about Hey, Mac Jones,
guy looks just as good as Brock and I would
argue that. But put it over here for a second.
Only because it's the Arizona Cardinals. Are we not having
the exact same conversation with regard to their football team,
And also only because they went on and too in
(01:16:01):
those games, but you'll notice that the point total is
going up and they are getting as good, if not
better production from Jacoby Brissette as opposed to Kyler Murray,
who I find.
Speaker 1 (01:16:14):
To be one of the more mysterious quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (01:16:17):
In this league. He's been paid. He's not been paid
like the elite, but he's been paid. And I think
he's right on the bubble as to whether or not
you should pay him to be your starting quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:16:34):
Jacoby Brissett, Kyler Murray, Kyl. Look, I've never really been
a Kyler Murray fans. I'm just gonna be honest. Just
from a leadership standpoint, I knew a couple of guys
played didn't quite trust him as a leader. The coaches
(01:16:58):
didn't trust him as a leader. That's why they put
some crazy clause that no one's ever heard of in
a contract. They try to get him to sign less
gaming more watching film, which is crazy to even say
as a quarterback. So I've never really been a big
(01:17:19):
believer in him. I think he's too small, similar to
Brice Young. I just think they're too small. I think
the demand at the quarterback position is too high. And yeah,
he's a good scrambler. He can throw a pretty ball
every now and again, but where does that get you?
Where does that get you? I mean, I take Tua
(01:17:42):
over Kyler Murray and Tua can't run anyone.
Speaker 1 (01:17:47):
That's a hell of a statement.
Speaker 3 (01:17:48):
I'm just saying to me, at least two is trying. Now.
I don't want people to think I hate Kyler Murray.
I don't. I really don't. In terms of quarterbacks, I'm like,
I'm an offensive lineman, and so the utmost trust and
(01:18:09):
respect has to come from the guy I'm putting everything
on the line for, and I just don't see it
in Kyler. And I've talked, like I said, I've had
conversations with other guys who were on that team and
they didn't see it from him either. So I just
let Kobe Bruce let go. I mean, he's a good backup.
(01:18:35):
The offensive flow is a little bit better now. All
this is taking place with them losing the real heart
and soul of that team, just so we be so
we're clear. The true the heart of that team was
James Connor. James Connor, he's the leader. He is they
(01:18:59):
are on the Cardinals, and when they lost him, we
saw them regress and how they even approach the game.
And that's a big loss for that program because he's
a tremendous leader and he brings an edge that everybody
respects in that locker room and in that stadium. That
(01:19:19):
edge is gone. So who are they? No one knows.
Speaker 2 (01:19:26):
It's a fascinating slot that Cardinals find themselves in, and
it's always a slot. There are multiple NFL teams two
and the Dolphins are another where you kind of have
a QB where you're like, they're good enough to make
us relevant ish, so we got to pay him and
keep them, but we also know for sure they're not
good enough to win a Super Bowl? So do you
(01:19:48):
keep them or do you move on's that's kind of
the question. Love to get into that with you a
little bit more coming up next with e from Salama
Mark Willard.
Speaker 1 (01:19:58):
This is Fox Sports Radio, Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:20:03):
Into the night and into the second half of Sunday
Night Football, breaking down everything from Week seven in the
National Football League, broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Still need to look at those Kansas City Chiefs, those
Indianapolis Colts and beyond and continue the conversation we were
(01:20:23):
just having, which was inspired by Kyler Murray. But we
take it to a bigger level to look around the league,
and I'm always fascinated by what should a team do?
Speaker 1 (01:20:34):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
Derek Carr was an example of this when the Raiders
moved on from him. It's kind of like, Okay, I'm
not going to call you a crappy quarterback.
Speaker 1 (01:20:43):
You're not bad.
Speaker 2 (01:20:45):
But if a team doesn't think it can actually get
to the next level with you, and you're just kind
of a you know, mid as they would say quarterback,
like you're solid, you can do some things, but it's
just not quite enough and it's not blending with the
system and all of these things. Should that team pay
you and stay relevant and maybe stay a playoff contender
(01:21:10):
or regenerate the quarterback position every few years knowing that
you're gonna have some misses and some bad players, but
you're also gonna have a whole lot of cop space
to play around with. And I think those two teams
we just brought up, the Dolphins and the Arizona Cardinals
right now, those are probably two of the best examples
(01:21:33):
out there right now. But it's coming, it'll, it'll, you know.
Trevor Lawrence Jackson Trevor is probably right now on a
highway for that conversation. They're three guys, they've all been paid,
and I don't really know exactly what it is that
team is going to achieve next to them.
Speaker 3 (01:21:56):
Yeah, it's at some point you have to move your
organization forward. You have to try to actually get to
the playoffs and compete for a championship. And if the
(01:22:17):
quarterback you have doesn't have those abilities, even after you
you know, you've put resources around them, and you know,
you try to find the right coach and so on
and so forth, then what you'll find is if you're
holding on to set quarterback, you'll burn through personnel and
(01:22:39):
and draft picks trying to put lipstick on a mud dog. Well,
and so we've seen this happen. We've seen teams go
through coordinators and coaches and and other players trying to
(01:23:03):
make a thing work. Trevor Lawrence been in the league
a long time. It's a long time. They just got
the breaks beat off of them in the place that
they've played more than any other team.
Speaker 1 (01:23:17):
No, that's supposed to be their home and yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:23:19):
Right, and so at some point, like we talked about,
you know, after they had beat the Chiefs. Everybody was like, oh,
they won despite Trevor Lawrence. In my opinion, I've had
enough of a simple size. He's not the guy. Can
(01:23:40):
he make some throws? Yeah, of course, so can a
lot of starting quarterbacks in the league. But Jaydon Daniels
came into the league and took his team the first
year to the NFC Championship game.
Speaker 1 (01:23:57):
C J.
Speaker 3 (01:23:57):
Stroud came into the league and took his team to
the playoffs back to back years, the second round of
the playoffs back to back years. So when you look
at the scope of young quarterbacks, look at what bo
Nix is doing. Yep, look at what Drake May is doing.
(01:24:19):
So when you start talking about Kyler Murray and Trevor
Lawrence and in these other names, it's like, oh, well,
there's something wrong, but you can you can try to
fix or work the problem around the actual problem and
just be burning through resourses.
Speaker 1 (01:24:40):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (01:24:41):
Yeah, I mean, I think those are the three examples
that are shining right now in the league where it's
like it's obvious they've got big contracts and it doesn't
feel like it's getting any better, and in some cases
it feels like it's getting worse.
Speaker 1 (01:24:56):
And then there are others where I would.
Speaker 2 (01:25:00):
Say we might get into that conversation sometime soon.
Speaker 1 (01:25:04):
I know how you feel about Bryce Young.
Speaker 2 (01:25:07):
It'll be interesting to see what the Panthers decide to
do there going forward. You know, like I c J.
Stroud is an interesting name. I don't think there's a
whole lot of question there. But what is that number
when when his time comes is going to be interesting
(01:25:27):
and we'll see how the rest of this season goes.
Speaker 1 (01:25:30):
I think he's kind of getting thrown to the wolves
a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:25:33):
I think his offensive line is right, they're not doing
it and he never had ten years and so that's
a big part of it. But I think CJ is
a pretty good player. But how that sort of shakes out?
And then you know, then there's the that, like the
other conversations, some are necessary, some aren't.
Speaker 1 (01:25:51):
I know that.
Speaker 2 (01:25:52):
You know, Rock Party has been a lightning rod on
this with regard to Okay, he's good, but is he
worth that? And then I think you can extend that
in a different way to Doc Prescott in Dallas, who, again,
this is a good quarterback. He shouldn't be the highest
paid player in the game. I know that and how
(01:26:13):
is that gonna feel if Dallas continues to just kind
of fall short even though they're as big of a
brand as the league has.
Speaker 1 (01:26:20):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:26:21):
Those those are the names I think that you play
with when it comes to a conversation like this.
Speaker 3 (01:26:26):
Yeah, I mean you would have to. You look at
the money they're paying these guys. You expect more from them.
You expect more from them, You expect that if you're
making that much money, you're at least worth nine games. Yeah, yeah,
you're gonna give us nine a year at least, and
(01:26:51):
then we can muster up the other two or three
with personnel and you know, defense, edge rusher are some
like that. You got to break it up into those
type of moments, right, I was on the fence with
Jordan Love. I didn't know, if you know which, if
he could separate himself from those guys, and he's trying
(01:27:19):
to pull away from them.
Speaker 1 (01:27:21):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:27:21):
Michael Parsons had a big, a big part of that
win today, huge part of that win today. So it's
one of those situations where all eyes are on on
on on Jordan Love.
Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
This this year, Buck seventy nine one touchdown, did not
turn the ball over, but he did fumble it twice,
got recovered both times by his team.
Speaker 1 (01:27:53):
But yeah, like in the end, this.
Speaker 2 (01:27:57):
Kind of goes away statistically divided that you're winning football games.
And you know, as a conversation we've been having in
the Bay a whole lot right now, Mac Jones has
people thinking, oh, someone's gonna come and give a first
or second round draft.
Speaker 1 (01:28:14):
Pick for him in the offseason. And it's like, well, like, when.
Speaker 2 (01:28:19):
You win a football game sixteen to fifteen, is the
quarterback bawling or did you you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (01:28:25):
But that's how it works.
Speaker 2 (01:28:27):
If you win, then that's how people are going to
feel about you.
Speaker 1 (01:28:31):
And Jordan Love is for one and one right now.
Speaker 3 (01:28:36):
Yeah, you you have to when you're looking at the
quarterback position, number one. Backup quarterbacks have nothing to lose
in everything to gain.
Speaker 1 (01:28:48):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (01:28:48):
So the pressure is not there. The pressure is not
there because the expectation is, I mean, just keep us
even win one, lose one, win one, lose one, you
just keep it five hundred for US. Minnesota went on
(01:29:10):
the heck of a ride with Sam Donald. Sam Donald
turned a corner last year. Can he continue on that path?
We'll see Baker Mayfield turned the corner and he's on
that path. Yep, scorched earth. And so the opportunity for
(01:29:38):
backup quarterback to restart his career in his life, they're
not a lot of high stakes. You could be a
backup quarterback for twelve years, make millions and millions of
dollars and be completely fine, completely fine. Now, if you
(01:30:01):
want to be a starting quarterback again, you gotta do
something special. Mac Jones is doing that. All right, we'll
see how this, you know, he's latin next few games
shakeout and when Brock comes back. But he's playing himself
into an opportunity in the right situation to start again.
Speaker 1 (01:30:22):
No doubt.
Speaker 3 (01:30:23):
And that's all you can That's all you can ask.
Speaker 1 (01:30:25):
Not a free agent at the end of the year.
Oh keep that in mind.
Speaker 3 (01:30:27):
No, no, no, but that's and if Niners love him
to keep winning, yep, love for him to keep winning.
Speaker 2 (01:30:37):
He took his Niners on an opening drive field goal
in the third quarter of the Falcons have immediately response
and responded a Bijon Robinson touchdown, and we've got ourselves
a continued close game about how just passed the halfway
mark of the third quarter and there's thirteen to ten
in favor of the Niners. That Baker Mayfield contract's going
(01:30:59):
to be a fascinating one when it comes up, isn't it.
And because he signed a three year, one hundred million
dollar deal, so he's been like.
Speaker 1 (01:31:06):
Paid, not paid. We've been paid a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:31:12):
But in the world of quarterbacks, three years and one
hundred that's that sort of Sam Darnold Baker Mayfield, like,
we like you. But let's see, Uh, there's not gonna
be any question next time around, and Baker will still
be a young man. He's got one more year on
that deal next year at age thirty one.
Speaker 3 (01:31:33):
Well, I'll tell you what. If Baker continues the way
he's going now and he ends up being the MVP
R second in that, then there he'll sign that extension
next year.
Speaker 1 (01:31:44):
This all next year, absolutely, and it'll be it'll be
it'll be worth it north of fifty. Oh yeah, north
of fifty for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:31:53):
As as it should be.
Speaker 1 (01:31:57):
Yeah. No, I agree with that completely. Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:32:01):
During the baseball postseason, Strauss made history as the first
brand ever on the Helmets family owned since nineteen forty eight.
Strauss makes workwear built to perform smart pocket design, real
comfort and durability you can trust from grit to glory.
Speaker 1 (01:32:19):
Gear up today at strauss dot com.
Speaker 2 (01:32:21):
That's st r au ss dot com. Down the stretch,
we come into the second half of Sunday Night Football.
Also coming up next, I need you and me to
get real on the Kansas City Chiefs who blew out
the Raiders today. We'll do that coming up next on

Speaker 2 (01:33:08):
Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcast
you'll find today's full show posted right after we get
off the air. But we're not done. We're not done.
Thirteen to ten Niners lead the Falcons. Falcons have the ball, decent.
Speaker 1 (01:33:23):
Field position, but in their own territory. We're going to
keep you up to date.
Speaker 2 (01:33:26):
Martin Wise will be here in less than ten minutes.
I'm gonna need your help right now, eat from I'm
gonna need your help.
Speaker 3 (01:33:33):
Do you know about that brown sugar man? Enough, I'll
need your help. I'm here, I'm here to help.
Speaker 2 (01:33:43):
There's still a third place club at this hour. That's
what they are. If you buy Bill Parcells, you are
what's your record says you are?
Speaker 1 (01:33:54):
Well, then they're a third place club. You and I
both decided to boldly go out on a.
Speaker 2 (01:34:03):
Limb before the season and say, yeah, they're not winning
that division this year, and maybe they won't. I've had
others around me even suggest that, you know, maybe maybe
they miss the playoffs entirely. The Chiefs are four and three,
and over the last seven days they have started to
(01:34:27):
look a little bit like the Kansas City Chiefs. They
got healthier again today. Rashi Rice's back. Rushi had two touchdowns.
Talk to me, man, what are at the seven game mark?
What are and who are the Kansas City Chiefs?
Speaker 1 (01:34:44):
Are they back? Did they ever leave in the first place?
Speaker 3 (01:34:47):
I don't think they ever left. I think they are.
We just spent a whole segment talking about quarterback yep
and salaries and the middle of the road and all
kinds of stuff. What the Chiefs don't have that problem,
(01:35:16):
and they have the best quarterback in the game and
have for a couple of years now, more than a
couple of years, several years. And even when he's not
putting up the numbers we're accustomed to, he's still at
(01:35:40):
any time the most dangerous person on any field because
you're always in the game if he's in the game.
And now what we're seeing from the Kansas City Chiefs
is they've shaken a little bit of the rust off,
(01:36:02):
licking their wounds from losing the brutal Super Bowl, and
they've been they've gotten healthy, and I don't know what
happened to Trey Smith that they will see how that
shakes out there, you know, Perennial all world guard, right
right guard. We'll see how that comes into play. But
(01:36:22):
in terms of weapons, they got more weapons than they
can you know, shake a stick.
Speaker 1 (01:36:27):
At now, yeah, more than they know what to do
with probably.
Speaker 3 (01:36:30):
And so they're going to be a problem because the
one thing they don't do and they get a lot
of help and I know people like if you can
go an NFL game and not have a penalty, which
I think is impossible.
Speaker 1 (01:36:46):
But it's completely impossible.
Speaker 3 (01:36:50):
It always seems to me like even when you stop them,
do you stop them.
Speaker 2 (01:36:58):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:36:59):
Even on a third and long and it's an incomplete
You just look at the field long enough and.
Speaker 1 (01:37:07):
Voila.
Speaker 3 (01:37:10):
Either be rough in the passer or illegal contact. What
you can call on every single.
Speaker 1 (01:37:17):
Play by it's always something.
Speaker 3 (01:37:18):
You can call illegal contact on every single pass play play.
Speaker 1 (01:37:22):
Yeah, for sure, for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:37:24):
So let's just get that out the way for well,
he did it. Well, let's just be clear. You can
call holding illegal contact every single time the ball is
snapped in into pass or run. It just seems it
(01:37:48):
does that happen in favor of the Chiefs more than
any other team, just my assessment.
Speaker 1 (01:38:00):
But what do you say, what are you suggesting.
Speaker 3 (01:38:02):
I'm not suggesting anything. Well, what I'm saying, okay, is
every single time, yeah, you think you got them off
the field, there is new life. That's all I'm saying. Hey,
(01:38:28):
if I'm wrong, No, you're not wrong. Okay, so then
you see it too, of course. Okay, but there's a
secondary question to that. Okay, what's the secondary question?
Speaker 2 (01:38:37):
Are they the ones that make that dynamic or do
you think that dynamic is based on.
Speaker 1 (01:38:45):
Other powers that be.
Speaker 3 (01:38:47):
You know what, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:38:52):
I mean, they've got to have a hand in it now.
I mean, it's not like they're not good. They're good.
Speaker 3 (01:38:57):
They are good.
Speaker 1 (01:38:58):
They're clearly good.
Speaker 3 (01:39:00):
But are they that good every time? Right? It can't
be a coincidence. If it happens over and over again, right,
and that, then it's a thing. And it's a thing, right,
it's kind of thing every single time.
Speaker 1 (01:39:23):
I mean, tell me if I'm wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:39:26):
I mean, it would help if you're wearing one of
the other jerseys that when you got two hands on
the Patrick Mahomes football squeeze it.
Speaker 3 (01:39:34):
Tell me if.
Speaker 1 (01:39:36):
You're not wrong, you're not wrong, you're not right.
Speaker 3 (01:39:40):
Then we're on the same page.
Speaker 2 (01:39:42):
Yeah, and and and last week. Last week you talked
about how it's a lot for a football team to
have the energy super Bowl, win the super Bowl, lose
the super Bowl, win the super Bowl, and then come back
the next year a year older and have the energy.
(01:40:06):
That's what impresses me about the Chiefs. I'm waiting for
somebody to start caring a little bit less than all
these other teams who don't have any rings.
Speaker 1 (01:40:17):
But that hasn't happened yet.
Speaker 2 (01:40:20):
Even after a even after an zero to two and
a one or two.
Speaker 1 (01:40:25):
And three start to the season.
Speaker 2 (01:40:30):
Yeah, they dominated Detroit and they made the Raiders look
like they weren't even an NFL team.
Speaker 1 (01:40:39):
I'm not one.
Speaker 3 (01:40:39):
Hundred percent sure that they are still trying to figure
that out.
Speaker 1 (01:40:44):
Check the schedule though.
Speaker 2 (01:40:45):
The next month and a half is pretty damn interesting,
isn't it. So Uh, They're going to host the Commanders
on Monday Night Football next week. It feels like it's
likely that Jade and Daniels would not play in that game.
Then they go to Buffalo, Then they get a week off,
(01:41:07):
Then they go to Denver, then they host the Colts.
No early buy for them, huh No, they get to
get the buy week ten.
Speaker 3 (01:41:17):
Yeah, we get a recharge yep after the midway point.
Speaker 1 (01:41:21):
Huh yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:41:24):
All right, poor guys have to play on Christmas again
from Chucky does Yeah, pay the Broncos on Christmas.
Speaker 1 (01:41:32):
That'll be fun.
Speaker 3 (01:41:33):
It will be fun. Almost as fun as Martin Weiss's update.
Speaker 1 (01:41:37):
Hey man, nice work.
Speaker 8 (01:41:40):
I don't know if it'll be as much fun as
Vlaguerrero Junior is having right now. Top of the eighth innings,
six to two, the score and Toronto in the lead.
Shato leaves the series. Looks like Game seven will be
scheduled for tomorrow if necessary. It would take a comeback
from the Mariners if that was to be the case.
Addison Bardier had a two run homer in the third inning.
(01:42:03):
He's got three RBI. Lad Junior hit a home run
in the fifth attack onto Toronto's lead. He also scored
in the bottom of the seventh inning after a while
pitch and throwing air by cal Raley. Now that one
of the coolest celebrations you'll see walking off the walking
off the field after he crossed on plate. Josh Naylor
has a Mariner home run. He's scored in the top
(01:42:23):
of the sixth, and then Kyle Rally's up right now,
He's zero for three and had an aforementioned Like I said,
throwing era. Mariners had the bases loaded in the third
and fourth innings, but weren't able to score a run
in either one, with rookie pitchers starter Treya Savage getting
double plays in both of those innings to go ahead
and close out Seattle's offensive attempts in those frames. Sunday
(01:42:45):
Night Football, about a minute left in the third quarter.
The San Francisco forty nine ers have a thirteen to
ten lead. Mac Jones is twelve for twenty one hundred
yards passing. It's been the Christian McCaffrey show. Seventeen carries
ninety seven yards and a touchdown. He's got three catches
in twenty six yards.
Speaker 3 (01:43:02):
On through the air as well.
Speaker 8 (01:43:04):
You Mark Willard have been talking about in San Francisco,
I have a trouble rushing the ball.
Speaker 3 (01:43:07):
Shanahan talked about it at the half.
Speaker 8 (01:43:09):
Right now there are twenty four carries for one hundred
and eighteen yards and a touchdown. That's about what they
were looking for. Michael Pennix Junior just threw a touchdown
of Bijon Robinson earlier in the second half, but he's
won seventeen for twenty seven with one point eighty two
through the air. Bijeon twelve carries forty two yards and
he's been doing more of his work through the air
with four carries, four catches thirty yards.
Speaker 3 (01:43:31):
And eight touchdown catches.
Speaker 8 (01:43:33):
There now San Francisco with the ball back starting their
drive with a minute about a minute left in the
third quarter after a Atlanta punt back to you guys.
Speaker 1 (01:43:44):
Martin, great stuff tonight. Appreciate you very very much.
Speaker 2 (01:43:49):
Mark Willard from Salaam Live, Fox Sports Radio Studios, Hey,
let's have some fun with this. I don't know who's
gonna be healthy, who's gonna be unhealthy. It's quite silly, honestly,
how far we look ahead in the NFL, because like
we always get.
Speaker 1 (01:44:05):
To work on Monday morning and it's like, oh, it's.
Speaker 2 (01:44:07):
All different now because he's out, or he's out, or
this quarterback got hurt or what have you. But Jim Harbaugh,
not Jim Harbaugh, sorry John Harbaugh. He says the Ravens
aren't out of this thing. What do you say that?
Speaker 3 (01:44:28):
Say he's right week seventh.
Speaker 2 (01:44:30):
By week seven, by in fiery Lamar returns and.
Speaker 3 (01:44:34):
Then it's a different it's a different ball, gain one
and five. Yeah. Look the look at the division. Anybody
in that division scare you?
Speaker 2 (01:44:43):
Uh no, no, no, I mean they can give you
a game.
Speaker 3 (01:44:47):
Yeah, but does anybody watch out for them? No, that's
why they're not out of it. He knows that Lamar
is coming back, he'll be healthy and dangerous. Look at
the other quarterbacks in the division. Joe Flacco again, Aaron
(01:45:15):
Rodgers and who who's the other guy?
Speaker 1 (01:45:25):
Somebody? His name right now is Dylan Gabriel. But I
mean to ask me again next week.
Speaker 3 (01:45:33):
Hey, so, yeah, I beat Door Sanders. I'd stack my
I stack my money on Lamar Lamar Jackson myself.
Speaker 2 (01:45:42):
I don't know if this would be good enough, just
saying I got a fun prediction we can throw out
right now.
Speaker 1 (01:45:48):
I will say right now that.
Speaker 2 (01:45:52):
By Thanksgiving, if not earlier, by Thanksgiving, the Ravens will
be back to five. Yes, by Thanksgiving, I agree with
that they play on Thanksgiving.
Speaker 1 (01:46:09):
They they will be the night game.
Speaker 2 (01:46:10):
They will be the You are laid out on your couch,
worried about.
Speaker 1 (01:46:15):
Your beltced just fighting sleep.
Speaker 2 (01:46:21):
Wondering how you ended up in this conversation with somebody's uncle,
and trying to both stay awake and hopefully use the
football game as a reason to get out of said
conversation with somebody's uncle. I'm so thankful for the night game.
(01:46:41):
It used to not be there. You live on the
West Coast and football was over by four point thirty
in the afternoon, and then you would eat and there was.
Speaker 1 (01:46:49):
Nowhere to hide after that, nowhere to go.
Speaker 2 (01:46:53):
You're stuffed you're exhausted, and people could when you're a kid,
they start doing that. So how's school? It's school? What
do you want me to say? Math class sucks? Can
we leave?
Speaker 3 (01:47:06):
Mom?
Speaker 2 (01:47:08):
So thankful for the night game And this year it's
Lamar Jackson apparently against Joe Flacco.
Speaker 1 (01:47:18):
And the Cincinnati Bengals.
Speaker 2 (01:47:20):
But listening to the Ravens schedule here for the next
handful of weeks. This coming week, they will host the
Chicago Bears, then they hit the road for the Miami Dolphins.
Then they hit the road for the Minnesota Vikings, Then
they hit the road for the Cleveland Browns, then they
(01:47:43):
come back home for the New York Jets, and then
they stay home for Thanksgiving and host the Cincinnati Bengals
in order to get to five hundred that night.
Speaker 1 (01:47:54):
They can actually lose one of those games.
Speaker 3 (01:47:57):
If they might win them all, they just might win
them all.
Speaker 1 (01:48:00):
They might win them all. They might win If Lamar.
Speaker 3 (01:48:03):
Is back, They'll be favored in every single game.
Speaker 1 (01:48:06):
No question.
Speaker 2 (01:48:07):
And I know they've got many, many more injuries than
just Lamar, but boy, what a well timed by week
for them. And if they get Lamar back and maybe
a couple of their other guys and adding that friendly schedule.
I'm I'm yeah, I'm nowhere near giving up on that team.
Speaker 3 (01:48:26):
You know you can't. And he understands that. They look,
they know what it is, they know what position they're
in that they put themselves in, and they're fully aware
of what they need to do and what's possible. So yeah,
I wouldn't bet. I wouldn't. Yeah, I'd say they're fine.
(01:48:49):
I wouldn't fought hardball for making that statement.
Speaker 2 (01:48:52):
Well, and like again, this is how mak Any excuses
a guy. Obviously, Lamar missed a couple of these games too,
But if you do look at the Fire games they lost,
they're not embarrassing losses. They lost at Buffalo, they lost
at Kansas City, they lost to the Lions, and then they.
Speaker 1 (01:49:09):
Lost to Houston and the Rams without Lamar Jackson. I mean,
you know, you got.
Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
To be good teams to be a good team.
Speaker 1 (01:49:19):
But by the same token, you know that's those are
really good.
Speaker 2 (01:49:26):
Those are tough opponents that they were taking on and
and I, like I said, a couple of them they
did without Lamar, they weren't even able to be competitive.
Speaker 3 (01:49:36):
Yeah, I think they're fine, And he knows they're fine,
and this is you know, this is what the second
half of the season is for. So it'll be interesting
to follow that and track that and see how they're doing.
Speaker 2 (01:49:57):
So that's the team I'm gonna pick that right now,
is well on the outside looking in but still has
a shot. You got a team that's on the inside
looking out, but you think might fall out of this thing.
Speaker 3 (01:50:12):
It's a good question.
Speaker 2 (01:50:13):
Yeah, maybe maybe it's these forty nine ers.
Speaker 3 (01:50:23):
I'll be able to answer that after this game.
Speaker 1 (01:50:27):
But this game, this game's gonna still be going.
Speaker 3 (01:50:30):
When we finish well, then I mean that I have
to answer it next week.
Speaker 2 (01:50:33):
You're going to have to text me. You're gonna have
to text me. Is it the Chargers? By the way,
it could also be the Chargers.
Speaker 3 (01:50:40):
No, I don't think it's the Chargers.
Speaker 1 (01:50:42):
No, they're all banged up.
Speaker 3 (01:50:43):
I know they're all banged.
Speaker 1 (01:50:44):
They're so banged up. You know, you know who else
is sitting in a playoff spot right now?
Speaker 2 (01:50:51):
I'll tell you who the team is that's in it
right now in the AFC technically is in a playoff
spot right now, but I'm not putting them in the
playoffs in the end, it is Jacksonville. Oh, it's Jacksonville,
jackson Jacksonville four and three and uh some of the
Chiefs but the but the Jacks beat them, so they
got the tiebreaker there. But yeah, no, well that that
(01:51:16):
whole thing, that four and one start was built on
a lot of turnovers, and I just don't think it
was very sustainable. And now we're seeing that it's not.
Speaker 3 (01:51:26):
Because it was like Trevor Lawrence is this coming out party?
He'd been in the league forever, Why is he now
coming out?
Speaker 1 (01:51:35):
That's fair?
Speaker 2 (01:51:37):
And uh, Stafford carved them up today with without puka.
Speaker 3 (01:51:43):
And and without any rest right because their travel itinerary
was crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:51:51):
It was wild.
Speaker 3 (01:51:52):
You get to London the day before the game.
Speaker 1 (01:51:56):
Well they were in Baltimore last weekend. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:52:00):
They say they stayed out there for the whole time
in lod London on Friday.
Speaker 2 (01:52:06):
That's a lot, man, I'm like, what, that's a lot.
That's a lot. It's impressive. They played a good football
game today. They really routed the jump yep, yep, yeah
from the word from the whistle go. I keep missing
out on the lesson when we wake up at six
point thirty to watch you probably shouldn't. It's usually not
(01:52:30):
worth our time, but I don't know. I'm always afraid
to miss something great. Anyway, not done yet, stay right
where you are. That's eat from salam. I'm Mark Willard.

and one coming up. They trail by three thirteen, ten,
nine and a half.

In counting to go in this game, so keep you
up to date on that. With the time that we

Speaker 2 (01:53:35):
I'll also say this, though, I think by the time
we go to bed tomorrow there's still will not be
any I just won't be six win teams in the NFC.
Speaker 1 (01:53:47):
I think the Detroit Lions are gonna.
Speaker 2 (01:53:49):
Hand it to the to the Tampa Bay Bucks tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:53:55):
Set out to Mary. We lost a great, great, great
soul and artists, uh this past week in DiAngelo.
Speaker 1 (01:54:07):
Yep, yep, yep, yep.

This was our tribute to him today and our show

some men your soul, and so we want to dedicate
this show to his memory and his his talent.
Speaker 1 (01:54:29):
Mm hmm, yes sir, m yes, sir. All right, it's
got date Night written.
Speaker 3 (01:54:35):
All mess around and gonna make another baby tonight.
Speaker 1 (01:54:40):
Don't do that now, No, I won you gonna be No,
I will not.
Speaker 2 (01:54:45):
You're gonna be driving around the club basketball now, oh man,
fifteen years from now.
Speaker 3 (01:54:51):
No a shot A.
Speaker 1 (01:54:56):
Hey, did you like what the Falcons just did?
Speaker 3 (01:54:59):
No? I think you think you would. I think you
tie the game up.
Speaker 2 (01:55:03):
You're at the thirty five yard line. That's a fifty
two yard field goal, fourth.
Speaker 3 (01:55:06):
To one, and you almost gave up a pig six.
Speaker 1 (01:55:08):
Oh, that was a beautiful play by Chase Lucan.
Speaker 2 (01:55:11):
There he almost he almost let the ball go right
through his ends to Drake London.
Speaker 1 (01:55:15):
But that was a nice break on the ball and it.
Speaker 3 (01:55:17):
Keeps moment the game up.
Speaker 1 (01:55:21):
I don't know if they love their kicker, Oh well,
Parker Romo.
Speaker 3 (01:55:25):
I love I wonder if they love Christian McCaffrey going
for ten on the turnover on downs?
Speaker 1 (01:55:33):
Yeah, just like that, Niners.
Speaker 2 (01:55:35):
Uh, Niners have a first down just short of midfield,
eight minute mark, up thirteen to ten.
Speaker 3 (01:55:42):
Not much work to do to get points on their end.
Speaker 2 (01:55:46):
No, not at all, not at all. So that was
a that was a potential kind of landmark moment at
least in this football game. And again for the third
time tonight, shout out to I don't know where this
game is gonna go, but shout out to Robert Sala
and everybody you know playing defense for the Niners tonight.
(01:56:08):
They're giving up ten points without Fred Warner and Nick Bosa.
You know, there's a few teams out there that, like
we've done a lot of shout out to the Denver
Broncos and.
Speaker 3 (01:56:18):
To your point it it's the high powered Atlanta offense.
Speaker 1 (01:56:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:56:22):
Yeah, there's a few teams where you're just like, man,
I can see when you've got that stick to itiveness.
It's kind of the opposite of what the Miami Dolphins
did today, Like when.
Speaker 1 (01:56:32):
You've got that. Even the New York Giants.
Speaker 2 (01:56:34):
Man, you lost that game, but dude, what a totally
different energy.
Speaker 3 (01:56:40):
You can see it, right, They're just playing football with
a compe right to tell you as a player, you
can feel it.
Speaker 2 (01:56:47):
Right and actually, like, shout out to the Cincinnati Bengals
on Thursday night.
Speaker 1 (01:56:52):
What the hell did y'all have going?
Speaker 2 (01:56:55):
You know, they had lost four games in a row
and no Joe Burrow, Joe go for a week, couple practices, boom,
thirty three points. So niner defense, no Boats, and no Warner.
So far you've given up ten points. Like I there's
just yeah, I love it when you see fight, man,
Just show us some fight.
Speaker 3 (01:57:16):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (01:57:17):
I love that. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:57:19):
George Kittle's back, Dude, I'm gonna take the w on
that prediction. Forty nine ers averaging over five yards of
carry tonight. George Kittle's back.
Speaker 3 (01:57:30):
Formula's not all, man.
Speaker 1 (01:57:32):
It's not Have your good players play.
Speaker 3 (01:57:34):
Formulas not all.
Speaker 1 (01:57:37):
That's that that always that always helps?
Speaker 2 (01:57:42):
All right, Hey, before before we skidado, I wanted to
get a thought on this because I know your Dodgers are.
Speaker 1 (01:57:50):
I know they're gonna win.
Speaker 2 (01:57:52):
You know they're going the World Series, and I'm pretty
sure they're gonna win this thing.
Speaker 1 (01:57:56):
I've got them winning it in four and a half games.
But like.
Speaker 2 (01:58:04):
Kind of run the risk of 's a little bit
of a college football feel to it. I think that's
how a lot of fans around the country kind.
Speaker 1 (01:58:12):
Of look at this stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:58:13):
And that's why I I don't I don't know if
there's any path to uh, to do what you and
I both said, we would love to see salary cap,
salary floor. Let's have everybody, you know what I mean,
Let's have everybody play the sport.
Speaker 3 (01:58:29):
I would, I would. It's no shade on the Dodgers.
We don't put a cap. I floor.
Speaker 2 (01:58:35):
Yes, like I you don't get to own a team
unless you're gonna try to run a team.
Speaker 3 (01:58:40):
Don't need the cap. Don't need the cap. I just
need a floor.
Speaker 1 (01:58:44):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (01:58:44):
That's what I need.
Speaker 1 (01:58:45):
Well, you're not you're you're like.
Speaker 2 (01:58:47):
The players are gonna say no cap, the owners are
gonna say no floor.
Speaker 1 (01:58:51):
The only way you get them is if both offer
the other to the other. You know what, I mean,
it's the only way you're gonna get it. So I would.
Speaker 2 (01:59:00):
Love to see it because that's the statement I'll walk
away with. Anybody who's offended by what the Dodgers are doing, Unfortunately,
you should be offended at what the bottom half of
the league is doing, because those are the owners that
are literally taking money from people, that's the point, and
not putting a product on the field.
Speaker 1 (01:59:20):
That's what that's what really really is.
Speaker 3 (01:59:23):
It's too much of that going on. Yeah, there's too
much of that going on, and so you can't jump
on the bandwagon of a team that's really trying to
do something, win something, to stake their claim in history.
I'm all for that, my man.
Speaker 1 (01:59:37):
I can't wait to talk to you next week.
Speaker 3 (01:59:38):
Absolutely, brother. Okay, i'me same place.
Speaker 2 (01:59:41):
Indeed, y'all stay right where you are for eight from Salam.
I'm Mark Willard, Fox Sports Radio.
