Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
You ever have one of those days where like you
got it all planned out, you know exactly where you're going,
you know what you're doing. I mean, you might have
even written it down, and then right before you get started,
something happens that changes everything, the unforeseen in a way.

(00:26):
That's what just happened with us, Ephrom. I don't know
if you're affected by this. I don't know if you
knew about this. I don't know where your situation lies
right now, but I can tell you that as we
get started tonight, there are no doubt, I don't know, millions,
probably millions of Americans sitting down getting ready for LSU

(00:51):
and USC only to find oh no, no, no, no,
you will you will not be watching that football game tonight.
I don't know if I've hit my head in the
sand or what. Did you know that ESPN and Direct
TV we're having this little tiff? Did you know about this?

Speaker 3 (01:12):
I didn't at all? You didn't?

Speaker 4 (01:15):
Do you know about this? Like literally right now?

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:17):
I do.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
But I'm watching a game.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Okay, well you're watching the game.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
I stay ready. You don't have it.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
I don't have a game. Oh man, I don't know
the game.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
I don't know the game, and I didn't even know,
Like all I ask of the people above us, if
you're fighting and it's going to affect me, let me know,
let me.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Just let me know.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
I don't like I don't want to get into your
stupid fight, you know what I mean. It's kind of
like if I'm at a game. Now all these things
end up on social media. If I'm at a game
and you're sitting three rows behind me and you feel
like getting in a fight, let me know so.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
I can lead to I don't want to be near you.
You're an idiot. I'm not that drunk.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
I'll go find somewhere else where I can peacefully watch
the game. If you're gonna fight, let me know so
that I can make other plans.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Well, look, so I travel.

Speaker 5 (02:12):
Although we have this beautiful studio and we have all
these TVs and they all Direct TV and.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
U Verse or whatever it is.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
Obviously there's a beef between Disney and DirecTV, Disney being
the parent company that owns ESPN, and so they waited
till about I don't want to twenty minutes before the
game came on, and decided to drop a hammer and
be like. Our contract with Disney, the owner of this channel,

(02:42):
has expired. We appreciate your patients while we negotiate to
offer you greater flexibility, choice and value. Visit Tvpromise dot
com for more information. Our scan the QR code on
your screen. Uh huh, Well that's awful, sure is. But

(03:10):
I stayed above the fray because I'm a psychopath and
I have an iPad which has ESPN Plus on it
and Disney Plus and all of those other things.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
Hulu.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
I don't even you may be able to get it
up through Hulu. I don't know, but I'm locked into
ESPN Plus and I'm just sitting here watching the game.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Okay, you just feel free to break in at any point.
Let us know what's going I will.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
I can't see it. I can't see a damn thing.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
Doesn't You probably got some snacks or something too, You
probably I got.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Oh this is gonna be great. Oh you hear that
right there? Oh that sounds ah man.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
A big old bag of tortilla chips just sitting here,
sitting here.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Look at the sauce. Sauce. I went and got some
ice coffee. Second one of the day.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
I got multiple drinks sitting here in front of me,
all of the non alcoholic variety will say the rest
of later and yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Here I am staring at.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
A refreshed Internet as I follow along as little cartoons
tell me who's got the ball and wear?

Speaker 5 (04:21):
Okay, well on my laptop. Right now, we're coming back
from commercial. Okay, good play by playle coming. We're now
panning down the drone shot into Allegiant Stadium in Vegas,
and we have the MODELO guy from the commercials with
the cowboy hat on and the glasses. I guess this
is their promotion. Kickoff Weekend was brought to you by Modello.

(04:44):
It's funny how beer sponsor.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
For beer sponsor for the college kid in Vegas, don't
gamble kids in Vegas live from the Medello Championship here
there you go.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
College won't be able to drink till they graduate. But
seemed like a good idea. LSU has the ball and
it's first and ten from the fifteen seventeen yard line,
which fifteen their own, fifteen their own?

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Okay, all right, great, so there's no score. You know,
Steve will keep us up to date. You can keep
us up to date. But the bigger thing is and
I immediately my mind immediately when I saw this didn't
go to woe is me. I can't see the game.
I got a show to do. We'll get over it.
It's not that I kind of chuckled, to be honest

(05:37):
with you, because it's actually the exact same subject you
and I've been sitting here talking about for the last
four weeks. It's the exact same thing the wide receivers
are doing to their football teams, and we're going right
up to the buzzer in many cases. Now, your offensive
lineman brethren, Trent Williams has become the lead story with

(05:58):
the forty nine Ers because the and Ayuke thing is over,
the CD Lamb thing is over, the Jamar Chase thing.
I can't tell if it's over or hasn't started yet.
Let me know if you can figure that out.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
I don't know. He's kind of practicing, but he's not.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
He doesn't have a new contract, and who knows what's
gonna happen next weekend. Oh, by the way, if you're
excited for some of those primetime games that are going
to be coming at you, specifically that forty nine Er
Jets Monday nighter.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
Gee, if you don't have Direct TV or else, you
won't see that either.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
They knew exactly how to uh time it just right
for uh football season.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Well how did Direct TV get surprised by this? Though?
Is what I want?

Speaker 3 (06:52):
They've been negotiating. Man, they weren't surprised.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
But I remember the LA situation and then the and
then the of course you know, so it's look, man,
this is when you lose Sunday ticket and people just
start dumping your service. You gotta do something right, like
you got got to try to whatever it is is

(07:17):
going on at DirecTV operations, they're trying to hold on.
They're holding on to the rope. I can tell you
what's happening right now. The phone's ringing. Yes, they're not
holding on to a rope. They're holding on to their
phone lines because they are ringing off the hook. I
love that you brought that up.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
You're absolutely right, and just the quickest history lesson for
those who wouldn't have known anything about what's going on
when when both the Lakers and the Dodgers did this,
it is a game of leverage. The Lakers did this
and said we've got our own network, and if DirecTV
doesn't want to carry that network, then those customers won't

(07:55):
see Laker games. And everybody thought about it for an
entire summer, and the game started, and and Bob and
Cindy sat down on their couch and went, uh, hun,
where where's the Laker game? Where's the Laker game? That
sucker got figured out in four days. So then the

(08:19):
Los Angeles Dodgers were like, hmmm, I like what you're
doing here. I like what you've done here, Lakers. We're
gonna do the same thing. And we got to this
is a year or two later. Two years later, two
years later, we get we get the opening day of
the Dodgers, and all the direct TV customers sat down
and went, uh, honey, where's the Dodger game. Four hundred

(08:44):
and thirteen years later, it still hasn't been figured out,
which tells you about leverage. Lakers, Yes, NBA in LA, Yes, Baseball. Now,
so what about this? I mean, it's one thing to
drop it in front of a USC LSU game, that's big.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
You drop that sucker on the Jets Niners game in
eight days.

Speaker 5 (09:09):
Oh it'd be mayhem, Oh boy, it'll be mayhem. Yeah, seriously,
it'll be mayhem. Yep, ESPN doesn't care because it'll be
people in droves going out and getting that bundle or
getting ESPN plus. I mean you just put it on
Apple TV and streaming right to your television anyway. Yep,

(09:31):
that's literally what it is. And so s he comes
up with a big stop fourth down seven seconds eight
six five four three to one. End of the first quarter,
score zero zero. When we come back from break, LSU
will be punting, punting. They were stop right at midfield,

(09:55):
about six yards shy of the first time.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
Okay, So I wonder if the Direct TV, those poor
those poor folks that are answering phones they're at DirecTV.
I wonder if that's the way they're holding the phone.
Thank you, thank you for calling Direct TV. It is
scoreless and you've missed nothing. People don't worry about people anymore.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Well they do. You just have to yell into the
phone represented it.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Yeah, but it's just one person. So you'll either be
on hold or waiting for Charlotte, or.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
You just start hitting all the buttons. You hit all
the buttons every time.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
It's like press one, press all the buttons, press all
the buttons and freeze the whole thing, and then it's
just like.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
Fine, we'll give you a person. Just relax. That's what
I do.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
This is crazy. I can't.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Millions and millions of people are just freaking out right now.
You can't watch then at the think about the bars,
think about the bar owners. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's the
crazy part. You at home, you could try to you know,
at the bar. The bar is not about to buy

(11:08):
ESPN plus. Like it's just it's a wow, you got
to go home. You're leaving the bar.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
How many bars right now? Is the owner over there
with one of those remotes actually trying to buy ESPN plus? Yes,
because there are hundreds upon hundreds of people who have
entered the place to drink.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
And watch and they're leaving. They're getting ready to leave.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Yeah, they're calling other bars in the neighborhood going do
you have direct TV or or do you have some
other man? All right, So leverage is the name of
the game. Let's let's talk about it. Let's talk about it,
and not not necessarily with regard to broadcast rights, because
that's not that exciting. However, I do have kind of

(11:59):
a broadcast rights question to ask that I do think
is interesting which is where is all of this going?
Because coming up this week, once we get through the
holiday weekend and once Direct TV and ESPN cave and
figure each other out, we pretty much have football like
every night of the week for a five day stretch,
and you might be interested to know how the NFL

(12:20):
worked its way through some rules. But I'd also love
to ask you, especially a former player, where is this going?
How often can you play? How many games? Where is
this going? We're broadcasting live from the Tirac dot com studios.
Tyrack dot com will help you get there on matt Selection,
fast free shipping, free road azer protection, and over ten

(12:41):
thousand recommended installers. Tyrack dot com the way tire buying
should be. Glad you're with us everyone tonight. That's e

Speaker 3 (13:16):
Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
You don't interrupting our promo. Yeah, you wasn't talking about you.
You took those clips totally of context.

Speaker 6 (13:26):
Oh yeah, well after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Let me put this into context.

Speaker 4 (13:32):
Shut up.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (13:33):
Anyway, just listening to the Folly and Tony Fosco Show

Speaker 4 (13:42):
All right.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Theserethetirag dot com studios alongside e from Salam.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
I'm Mark Willard. So nice three day weekend.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
I don't know how it is where everybody is where
where you're listening, but where we live out here, other
is absolutely beautiful. And so people are out and about
and they're doing things, and families are together and people
are smiling and having a great time. And then tomorrow night,
at some point we'll roll around and families will look

(14:14):
one another in the eye and they'll say goodbye, and
that's it. No one will see each other for the
next four or five months, unless, of course, you like
to gather around the television set and do the same
thing together, which is watch football. Because it is now
on almost every single night of the week. I did

(14:35):
a little bit of digging. I had some my producers,
our team. During the week, we did a little reading
about the Friday night rules and this is like some
sports broadcasting law of nineteen sixty one or something. When
this it's hysterical, but the whole and I thought we
brought it up last week.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
The whole day we talked about it.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
Yeah, you're not allowed to have a Friday night game
in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
And the concept was you're interfering with high schools and
so the NFL, because I like the date window kind
of covers from like mid August to December, and I
was like, so, how did they play that Black Friday
Thanksgiving game last year? Well, there's two things the NFL did.

(15:25):
Number One, did you remember that that game was on
early in the day. It was on at three o'clock Eastern,
which was an odd time. That had something to do
with it. Games got to be earlier. What's the second
thing they can do? Well, I bet you know this
off the top of your head, or maybe you don't.
Next Friday's game which will not be played on American

(15:49):
soil between the Eagles and the Packers.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
Do you know where it's broadcast?

Speaker 3 (15:56):
Brazil?

Speaker 4 (15:58):
But you know how we could there go? So what
do we do? We leave the country yep, and we
don't broadcast it. We stream it.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Dun dun dun dum. All right, So you.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
Tell me, my man, how long till there's twenty games?

Speaker 2 (16:19):
How long till there's Friday night lights with the NFL
every single damn week?

Speaker 3 (16:32):
Four years?

Speaker 4 (16:34):
Wow? That's it?

Speaker 5 (16:36):
Yeah, four years, twenty games it's coming. And no preseason fast,
no preseason. It'll be like one preseason game, one preseason.
It'll be like one preseason game. How do you feel
about that?

Speaker 3 (16:52):
I'm not. First, let me just give you an update.

Speaker 5 (16:55):
A tremendous uh double covered pass caught by USC receiver
got them all the way down to the eighteen yard line.
I mean it was literally one hand between two defenders.
When you see it, you'll see the highlights. It's unbelievable.

(17:16):
Just through a pass into the end zone. Sc did
it's pass interference in the end zone so the ball
will be placed at the two yard line or whatever
that is.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
So just to give you an update. But back to
football taking over.

Speaker 5 (17:32):
It's too lucrative and nobody's watching anything else live on television.
We're at a point now where streaming has reduced live
television watching so much so the DVR so much so
that the only thing people have an appetite to watch
live is nightly news and sporting events. What's the biggest

(17:53):
sporting event in this country Football on all levels, but
mainly the NFL. And so if that's the case, these
networks are willing to pay whatever they can to get
a piece of and streamers to get a piece of
that pie. How else are you going to sell to
advertisers when advertisers understand, well, nobody's watching these advertising that

(18:16):
we're these these commercials that we're paying for. But what
you can do with the streaming game is you can
wrap that into anything. So I can go to Apple
and say, hey, are you know Samsung and say you
can sponsor the Friday night kickoff game on Peacock for

(18:36):
however much that is right, and people will be inundated
s see touchdown six nothing depending extra point what he
marks to your TV run. So it's it's become business,
more business than ever before because the amount of money.
These streamers like Amazon, Apple, Peacock like people are throwing

(18:57):
their money behind streaming because traditional television outside.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Of you know, nightly news and.

Speaker 5 (19:04):
A few showed like television, like traditional television is kewing older. Right,
The demographic they like is eight between eighteen and twenty
five or eighteen and thirty five, whatever that is. They
want to capture that audience that was in the heyday
when twenty five thirty people were watching Survivor, Our Seinfeld,

(19:28):
our Friends.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Just think about that. On Wednesday night, thirty million people.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
Were watching Friends my CTV.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
Right, So you can build your network and your studio
on those advertising dollars. That's why the cast can get
paid a million dollars apiece for twenty four episodes.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
You do the math, right.

Speaker 5 (19:49):
But now that that's gone and we live in a
society now where everything is instant. You walking around, you
can watch it on your phone, you can watch it
on your watch, you can watch it anywhere. But in
the house, the only thing people will go home to
watch is for sports, namely football. So I can see
it happening, to answer your question, seven days a week,

(20:12):
I can see it football in some form, right, college pro,
I could see it happening seven days a week. So
you just think about it. If you have a Tuesday game,
what's the difference between Tuesday game and a Monday game
that just that next that Tuesday, Whoever plays on that
Tuesday game either to have a bye or they play

(20:32):
on Monday night the next week. Like it's it's simple.

Speaker 4 (20:36):
It's simple. It actually though it makes my brain hurt.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
But I'm sure if you sat down, you can figure
it out and pay me absolutely expecially because you know
what you have on your side that I don't know
how many people have really thought about.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
You have time, you have the calendar.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
You can completely change the way August is played in
the NFL. And if that's a little hot, little early
for you people are still on their summer vacation. Then
you've got February. Hell, you've got March. The super Bowl
used to be in mid January. Now it's in mid February.
Why can't we go to Why can't we go to
in January? Exactly exactly? And so now why why can't

(21:16):
we go to March? They've got all kinds of wiggle
room to create more buys because and like that would
sort of be my next question. This is what the
NFL will act like it's caring about, which is the
your NFL bodies.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
Oh, that's what nobody cares.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Well, So I do have this question and we can
kick it to the other side of because the man's
about stop.

Speaker 5 (21:40):
I know you know that now man is he's pacing
in front of his window looking as he knows.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
How important he is tonight because all of America or
parts of America can't even see this game. But like
when you say, oh, the body, the body can't do
eighteen games, but you can do seventeen, right, Like I
already look at it and go, well, the body can't
do what you're doing.

Speaker 4 (22:04):
Now.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
They're just going to expand the number of players on a.

Speaker 4 (22:07):
Team, right and ex and and and get more bye weeks.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
And the salary cap is going to increase, so you'll
have twenty games with two by weeks and bright, uh,
you'll just have to stand up and play.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
It'll be more money or salary. It is what is going.
It's gonna be what it's gonna be.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
I mean, and the fans are gonna go, look if
the eighth best wide receiver in the game is gonna
get thirty million dollars per year. Yeah, play, you're fine. Yeah, Like,
I you know what I'm just I'm just being a
puppet here. Like that's what people are gonna say. What's
Steve gonna say?

Speaker 3 (22:46):
I would love to know that.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
There's only one way to find out, man, There's only
one way to find out, Steve to Seager, everybody.

Speaker 7 (22:52):
Hello, We will get to the details of USC leading
seven nothing over LSU in Vegas. But you're talking about
the NFL schedule. The most obvious thing for me for
years has been we're gonna get the super Bowl in
mid February. And that way, President's Day comes on the
day after the super Bowl. You automatically get a holiday

(23:13):
the day after the super Bowl. And if that means
you throw in an extra bye week during the season
and start this weekend Labor Day weekend, so be it.
But the most obvious to me is the mid February
super Bowl. As for the college yes in Las Vegas
college football tonight, eleven minutes to go second quarter, USC

(23:34):
is out to the seven to nothing lead over LSU.
Each team ranked top twenty five preseason. For what that's worth,
this is worth something. The Trojans had a scoreless first
quarter tonight. This is actually, according to our Bruce Feldman,
first time in nine games where USC held its opponent
scoreless in the first quarter. So yeah, we've seen some

(23:55):
actual defense here. Remember it's a new defensive coordinator over
from UCLA, Dan Lynn, running the D four USC. And yes,
that catch for the Trojans on the last drive was
Odell Beckham esque to get him down in the red
zone from Kyron Hudson, his one catch so far in
the first half twenty four yards worth. As for how
the game started, LSU had the ball over seven minutes

(24:18):
a thirteen play drive they drove down to a fourth
in goal at the SC three and through incomplete after
the team's exchange punts. Then the Trojans engineered their TD
drive of eighty seven yards and it took him less
than four minutes to do it and get this seven
to nothing lead over the LSU Tigers Tomorrow Boston College
at Florida State. We mentioned this forty nine ers wide

(24:41):
receiver on the show last Sunday night, and unfortunately he
was in the news yesterday. We do have the update
on first round wide receiver Ricky Pearsall. He is out
of the hospital after being shot yesterday and a robbery
attempt in San Francisco. It was called an attempted theft
of a watch, and the teenager who shot him was arrested.
Piersoll played at the University of Florida and at Arizona State.

(25:02):
He's from Phoenix. His mom says the bullet entered his
chest and exited.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
Out his back.

Speaker 7 (25:08):
It is astounding that he was able to walk to
the ambulance and get out of the hospital the next day.
We do have the NFL Thursday season opener Kansas City
against Baltimore. Marquise Brown, Chiefs wide receiver. Due to the
bad shoulder, we'll not be playing. He did not practice today.
Ravens tight end Mark Andrews just returned to practice on Friday.

(25:29):
He'd missed over two weeks after a car accident. Packer's
running back Marshawn Lloyd returned to limited practice today after
the bad hamstring. Green Bay opens its season this Friday
in Brazil against Philadelphia. By the way, the first Fox
TV game with Tom Brady in the booth is next Sunday,
Dallas at Cleveland. And Yes, Disney has removed all of
its channels from DirectTV in a carriage dispute. ESPN statement

(25:53):
tonight says, we will not enter into an agreement that
undervalues our portfolio of television channel and programs in Major
League Baseball. Tonight, the Braves have a two to nothing
lead at Philadelphia against pitcher Aaron Nola and the Phills
in the bottom of the fifth inning. Already, the Mets
have won two nothing at the White Sox. Guys, we've
talked a little bit this season about exactly how bad

(26:16):
the White Sox are. They've lost ten games in a row.
Now the record is thirty one and one oh seven.
They trail Cleveland in their division standings by forty seven
and a half games. Already. We just started September today.
I looked it up. Baltimore in twenty eighteen finished sixty
one games out in its division. That was apparently the

(26:38):
record for the Divisional era, which goes back fifty plus years.
That was one hundred and fifteen loss team. The record
number of losses in a Major League Baseball season is
one twenty, but that was by an expansion team, the
nineteen sixty two Mets. They finished sixty and a half
games out National League And by the way, this will
put it all in perspective. I know we were in

(26:59):
the final month of the baseball season, but let's humor me.
What if the White Socks were playing games until about
Thanksgiving from now till November, and they went seventy five
and zero, they would still be under five hundred. Oh yeah, God,
that's how bad they are with a record of thirty

(27:19):
one and one oh seven.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Back to you.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
They're gonna get it, aren't they. They're gonna get that record.

Speaker 7 (27:25):
They need thirteen losses to tie.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
They're chasing it thirteen and how many games do we
have left each whole month?

Speaker 7 (27:31):
Four weeks?

Speaker 4 (27:32):
Right, so it's like twenty Like they're at one hundred
and thirty eight, now, so good? What quick math? What
is that?

Speaker 2 (27:37):
Twenty four games? Twenty four games and they only need
to lose thirteen of them. Oh pc k, they're probably.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
Gonna lose twenty of those suckers. I mean they've lost
ten in a row.

Speaker 7 (27:49):
And yet another shutdown?

Speaker 4 (27:51):
Did you we did this a few weeks ago? What's
the record?

Speaker 2 (27:55):
And you can save it for next hour if you want,
but the all time record for run differential like negative
run differential, let's do that. Coming up I'd love to
know that because they're they're at negative two two hundred
ninety one.

Speaker 7 (28:10):
Do you mean are we going back to the eighteen
hundreds in baseball?

Speaker 4 (28:13):
How many? It goes? As far as you want, Like,
what is the worst run all time?

Speaker 7 (28:19):
Yeah, okay, we'll definitely have that next Yeah. Once again,
it's probably not going seventy five and oh even if
they played Thanksgiving. But even that, even that wouldn't get
them to five hundred.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
Man, that's wild. Okay, thanks Steve. They could go to.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
Seventy five.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
Oh well, there's twenty four games left. They could win
them all. They could win them all and they still
would go fifty five and one oh seven. That's if
they finished the year on a twenty four game win streak.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Wow, gotta sc scoring.

Speaker 4 (29:04):
Oh what do we got? Go ahead?

Speaker 5 (29:06):
Kyron Lacy nineteen yard TD reception for LSU beautiful past
corner of the end zone.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
Toe tap on the sideline.

Speaker 5 (29:16):
On a let's go h you know, an out route
not out route excuse me, uh a fade boom.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
And by the way, it was my man Kyron Hudson
right who made that one hand.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
Okay, everybody listening to us, especially if you're a direct
TV subscriber and you're in the dark, go find a
computer or a phone and go watch that cat.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Got to see it.

Speaker 4 (29:39):
Oh my god, I.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
Gotta see it.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
That might be one that's list I know we write hyperbole.
That might be one of the best catches I've ever
seen in my life.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
Ever will When I was thinking, oh, I was like, oh,
that's an Sby.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
For sure.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
Listen that the first weekend, first first weekend of college football.
That's anesby, My god.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
All right, live tyreck dot com studios. We can continue
with leverage and wide receivers and broadcast rights and all
that and where this is all going. But can I
take maybe, and I know you're going to be in
lockstep with me. You've said some beautiful stuff the last
few weeks. That's right along these lines. And Steve was
just talking about Niners first round draft pick Ricky Piersoll

(30:25):
be being shot right in Union Square in San Francisco yesterday.
If you don't know San Francisco, Union Square is kind
of like that's the center of it all, and in
theory not a bad area. It's you know, I mean,
there's a lot going on there. It's the center of downtown,
but it's also the center of shopping and whatnot. Right

(30:48):
since COVID, they've lost a lot of stores. But anyway,
you get the idea. I expected this. It didn't surprise
me one bit, but that didn't stop it from turning
me off at the highest of highest of levels. I
cannot believe that this is what not just our politicians,

(31:12):
but seemingly a healthy portion of just us public citizens
want to do within minutes of finding out about something
so scary like this. I don't want to act like
we know Ricky Pearson personally, I don't. I've never met
the kid, so I'm not going to act like you
know I'm emotionally in tears over something like this. But

(31:36):
that's the team I root for. It's a scary thing.
I don't like hearing about anybody gets shot. The fact
that this, within I mean four seconds, turned into the
most predictable social media politicization. It's like just absolute argument
over liberals and conservatives and guns. And this is what

(32:03):
happens when you let cities get run by this out
or the other. The fact that that's where people took it.
Somebody running for mayor sent out a tweet seven minutes
after it happened.

Speaker 4 (32:16):
Well, this is how I can fix it.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
It is the ugliest, stupidest, most wrong thing in an
area that's filled with.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
Wrong, which is social media.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
I just cannot believe how many people could not stop themselves.
If you need to say something, just say that I
hope he's okay. Why can't like maybe tomorrow could tomorrow
you can get into politics?

Speaker 4 (32:50):
Can you find out if the kid's gonna be okay? First?

Speaker 2 (32:54):
Before we start screaming about Democrats and Republicans. Sorry, had
to get it off the chest.

Speaker 5 (33:01):
Well said absolutely, don't apologize for that. This is our
platform and we get to say what we want to
say on our platform. Is this is our show, and
you're what you're saying is you're absolutely right. I talk
about it all the time, the fact that the human

(33:22):
aspect and human nature has been lost. It's what can
I gain, And it doesn't matter who you're stepping on
or what you're using to gain it. That's why we're
just at each other's throat. It's just not it's not

(33:49):
it's just not enough to wonder if someone's okay. It's
not enough, and normally it'd be like, God, I hope
is him, his family's okay, tragedy, Oh, prayers up. Now
it's well, so and so it's happening on their watch

(34:11):
and they don't care. And I can do it better
and this and that and look with this and Donald
this and camel of this and hey man, sit down,
just sit down. Worst thing about social media gave everybody
a voice because everybody don't need a voice. And I

(34:31):
don't care what you say. Everyone doesn't need a voice.
Now everyone can speak, but the world doesn't need access
to everybody. Everybody's not educated at a level two. Give
out sound advice.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
Just to leave it at that.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
I missed the days of the inappropriate fantasy football reactions, right,
Remember like Ricky got shot? Oh damn, I drafted him
in the twelfth round of my fantasy league. That was inappropriate, right,
I now miss those days. Let's go back to that
where morons went to fantasy football as opposed to this

(35:21):
is what happens when you vote for XYZ because apparently
this is the first person who's ever been shot in
a major city.

Speaker 4 (35:30):
Anyway, we're live in the Tireck.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
Dot com studios with me from salam Mark Willard, speaking
of wide receivers, my gosh, and it's not done yet,
so we'll get to that coming up next on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Okay, we're sitting in the tire right dot com studios
and many of you are sitting in the dark. We'll
keep you up to date. If you are one of
those locked out of the usc LSU football game, it
remains seven to seven in the second quarter, and no

(36:18):
doubt you're scrambling, but we got you covered. Hey man,
I don't even know what I'm rooting for anymore. I
really don't. The Ceedee Lamb thing got figured out. I
think we knew that it would. The Brandon Aiyuk thing
got figured out. I don't know if we knew that
it would. I don't even know if the Jamar Chase

(36:41):
thing is a thing. But what I know is one
of these teams somewhere along the road, and I thought
maybe it was going to be the forty nine ers,
but it's not. One of these teams somewhere along the
road is going to be like Nope, that doesn't make

(37:01):
any sense. And I go back and forth because it's
there's a thousand different angles from which to view this.

Speaker 4 (37:11):
You can say, Okay, Brandon Ayuk is.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
A top whatever receiver, top ten receiver, top fifteen receiver.

Speaker 4 (37:20):
It's his turn. Here's where the market has gone.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
Should he slot right in underneath I'm on Ross Saint Brown,
or quite frankly over I'm on Ross Saint Brown because
he's got a little bit more in terms of guarantees.
I guess you could make that case. Sure, what if
I said it to you this way, that star studded
roster that the forty nine ers have, right, Brandon Ayuk

(37:46):
is the second highest paid player, That makes sense to you?

Speaker 1 (37:52):
No?

Speaker 4 (37:53):
Okay, So.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
That's I guess what I'm wondering. Because Niner fans immediately
had two emotions, One thank god it's over and two
sweet one of our really good players is back and
we got a game in a week, So off we go.
And I keep wondering to myself, when is the bubble
gonna burst? Because Nick Bosa makes more than Brandon Ayuk,

(38:22):
But Fred Warner and Christian McCaffrey and Trent Williams and Deebo,
Samuel and oh my god, the quarterback. Right, all of
these people, George Kittle, they all make less than Brandon Ayuk.
And so when you see teammates go to social media,

(38:42):
be like, sweet, my dude got paid. Are aren't they
gonna go knock on the door next Why wouldn't they?

Speaker 3 (38:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (38:55):
Right, what if Debo out gains Brandon this year and
Debo's going into a non guaranteed year next.

Speaker 5 (39:07):
Year, Hey me my money scoring alert s. He added
a phil goal. They had first in goal from about
the five yard line on the long pass this moss
kid quarterback is unbelievable, but they had an illegal block

(39:30):
penalty took him back fifteen yards, so it was literally
first and goal from about the twenty or so. They
got back down to the I believe three yard line
and threw a corner. Fade caught the ball, but the
dB hit him and he bobbled the ball out of bounds,
so they settled for the three points.

Speaker 4 (39:52):
Just toddate there, there is no appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
Ten to seven for twenty one left to go, and
we can keep rolling in this out after Steve's got
an update coming up.

Speaker 5 (40:01):
In a little bit we'll keep going. But yeah, when
when does the bubble bursting? It is coming? You know
when it's gonna burst.

Speaker 3 (40:10):
If if.

Speaker 5 (40:14):
The if the Kansas City Chiefs win the Super Bowl
again without a high price receiver like everyone else has.
Bubble burst, bubble burst, that's it. Now you're going to realize, Oh,

(40:34):
we don't we don't need that.

Speaker 2 (40:40):
I mean, yeah, let's dive into this a little bit further.
Coming up next on Fox.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
Sports Radio, Let's Ride.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
We're broadcasting live from the tire rack dot Com studios.
Tire rack dot com will help you get there an
unmad selection, fast free shipping, free road acid protection head

tire buying should be. I can't believe it's taken me
an entire hour to say this. If we've got this hour,
we've got next hour, and that is it. That will

(41:10):
be the end.

Speaker 4 (41:12):
For a while of us doing this show.

Speaker 2 (41:17):
Without an unbelievable array of NFL action coming right before
we start.

Speaker 4 (41:25):
Got the last one.

Speaker 2 (41:27):
Yeah, they're gonna say hi to somebody today gotta love Yeah, seriously,
I don't care who your people are, go say him.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
It's gonna be good.

Speaker 4 (41:40):
What are you most excited about?

Speaker 2 (41:43):
You know what?

Speaker 3 (41:43):
Look, I'm I'm.

Speaker 5 (41:46):
I love when young players come into the league, right,
I love when young players a lot of hype. I'm
excited for Caleb Williams. I want to see not only him,
but whole Bears roster, the retooling of it, the new
direction of it. I just want to see, uh, you know,
what teams have done to get better and if they

(42:07):
can implement that. I'm excited for Houston. They took a
huge step in the right direction last year. This year,
expectations are extremely high. And I was able to speak
to Cale McNair, his wife and you know, ownership group
and and and they were like, it's the nerves are there,
right because people expect you to be good. And it's

(42:28):
different entering into a season or uh, you know, stepping
up to the plate when people expect you to be good.

Speaker 8 (42:36):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (42:37):
And so it's it's really like, it's it's it's it's
an interesting time. And I said, look, that's the best
place you want to be.

Speaker 3 (42:47):
You want to be.

Speaker 5 (42:51):
Looked at as, you know, one of the top teams,
because that's how you change your narrative, that's how you
change the culture around your program. Look at what the
Detroit Lions are finally done right the expectation. They were
expected to win the division and they were two serious
mistakes away from the super Bowl last year.

Speaker 3 (43:14):
And so that's what you do. Expectation rises, you meet.

Speaker 5 (43:20):
At the level of expectations, and you become a good team,
and you set the foundation to do that for the
next decade or so.

Speaker 3 (43:27):
So you know, it's it's a myriad of things.

Speaker 5 (43:30):
I want to see if Joe Burrow is gonna be healthy,
and what the Bengals, that whole NFC excuse me, AFC
North having no teams under five hundred, what's that going
to look like? Russell Wilson and the Stealers. It's so
many tremendous stories. I'm excited about it. My guy, brock Purty,
can he continue his winning ways? I'm just as you

(43:54):
can see him overflowing with excitement when it comes to
the upcoming season.

Speaker 2 (44:02):
Indeed, indeed, oh my god, A long answer, long, long,
long answer, for sure. And that's coming from someone who
just about four hours ago completed my fourth and final

(44:23):
fantasy football draft of the season. Four teams all drafted,
and so now I can sit back and root for
every player in the NFL because I have them all
somewhere and and and and so that's great. But yeah,
that's what what am I looking forward to like as
a as just a person.

Speaker 4 (44:44):
We love this. I love sitting around with my with
with my family and my people and uh.

Speaker 2 (44:49):
And making food and and sitting around on Sunday and
turning on Red Zone and hoping that direct TV still works.

Speaker 4 (44:57):
And that's that. That's that, that's it, that's it, so
all of it, all of it.

Speaker 2 (45:05):
But yeah, there are certain teams where I've got curiosity peaked.
I'm a forty nine er fan. I just want to
know if they can get everybody in and stay healthy.
The Bengals I find incredibly intriguing. I've heard wonky stuff
coming out of their camp, and I don't quite really
understand the Jim ar Chase situation in the way that

(45:28):
I understand maybe some of the other holdouts. I'm interested
to see Jim Harbaugh coach the Chargers, and Justin Herbert,
I'm really interested to see that. Sure, the Texans incredibly
interesting team. The Bills have turned over their entire receiving corps.
What's that look like? Are the Packers as good as

(45:48):
everyone thinks they are. Can the Lions do a reboot?
Does the NFC South actually have football teams this year?
Like now that the Falcons have a quarterback, right, are
going to be good?

Speaker 4 (46:02):
Yeah? Thank you.

Speaker 2 (46:03):
And you said something last week that stuck with me
in thinking that the Washington Commanders are going to win
the NFC East. And I'm intrigued about almost everything in
that division.

Speaker 4 (46:16):
Not the Giants. They don't intrigue me, Malik Neighbors does.

Speaker 2 (46:21):
Outside of that, I find that to be one of
the most drab football teams in the NFL this year.
But that division I think is going to bring some surprises.
So all of it, man, Yeah, it's all of it.
The great thing about the beginning of of the season
is everything is on the table. Everybody expectations are through

(46:45):
the roof. Everybody is excited, It all counts in, it
all matters. Right as we trudge along through these you
know there'll be some matchups like that is what it is.
But right now, every matchup matters, every matchup counts. Every
fan is Remember that the NFL commercial they used to do,

(47:07):
It's gonna come out tomorrow, right like right after the
super Bowl. The commercial comes on. Everybody is zero and
zero right, and it's just like it would show different
teams going the sun will come out tomorrow, like in
the Coaches. I had the pleasure of being when I
played for the Jacksonville being in that uh that commercial

(47:28):
with Byron Left which was our quarterback, and uh, it's
it's the truth. Once the Super Bowl is over, we're
all zero zero and we all have an opportunity to
compete for being the best team on the planet. And
the optimism going into a season pre injuries and and

(47:49):
things like that.

Speaker 3 (47:50):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (47:50):
It's amazing. It's gonna be good, man. It's it's all
set up. And then you know, as we all know there,
there's all the things that we think we know. And
I would venture to guess that two to three weeks
from now, there'll be at least two of those things
that we thought we knew that are that are absolutely
not true. The good teams that aren't actually that good,

(48:12):
the bad teams that aren't actually that bad. But we've
both mentioned the Bengals. Let's go there for a second,
and I would love to know what your take. Let's
just use Jamar Chase as the example, there's a social
media rumor running around right now that he would like
he would like Justin Jefferson's deal plus one dollar, which

(48:39):
you know, maybe he'll get it. I don't know, Like
to me, Justin's the guy, but but we always do
whose turn is it? And the odd thing here is
it's not Jamar's turn yet. But he decided to get
in line anyway.

Speaker 5 (48:57):
He definitely got in line right. Hey, what you're doing
lined up over here? Exactly what they handed out? Oh okay, cool,
let me just slide right on in here.

Speaker 2 (49:07):
Jamar kind of like the guy that got in line
for seconds before. There's some people that got first. Yeah,
And but I watched it and I go, well, no, no, no,
you don't. You hold out after a year three, you
hold out after a year four. But if somebody looked
at me and said, well, why why can't I do
it now, I don't have a good answer.

Speaker 4 (49:28):
I guess you can. But then he showed up to
practice and then he didn't.

Speaker 3 (49:34):
I don't know, man, what Yeah, it's given?

Speaker 4 (49:37):
What's your Yeah, what's your read on the way he's
handling this?

Speaker 3 (49:41):
It's like I don't have leverage.

Speaker 5 (49:45):
I mean, I don't want to alienate people, but I
do want more money because I'm really good, and I've
been really good since I've been here, and I could,
you know, tremendously outplayed this contract. My whole thing is, look, man,

(50:11):
you play the season, right, he got two years left? Correct, Yes,
you play the season. Your money is going to be higher.

Speaker 3 (50:20):
Right.

Speaker 5 (50:21):
You got to get paid next off season because it's
about to turn off for receivers. And look, I understand
the urgency he's having because he knows, and I'm sure
people are talking. Eventually this foster is about to turn
off and these salaries are going to come back down
to earth.

Speaker 3 (50:40):
So you got to try to get it now.

Speaker 5 (50:43):
You hold out, you hold in whatever it is, no
matter if he has a contract extension or not. He
has to be in the lineup next week. And he
and Joe Burrow have a tremendous relationship, obviously, and he
will make that.

Speaker 3 (51:01):
Abundantly clear to him.

Speaker 5 (51:04):
Right Like they have a history of starting awful the Bengals,
even since Joe Burrow has been there, they have been
the worst team in September out of any playoff bound
team historically, and so much so that people just look
off the first month and a half of the season, like, oh,
it's just them, they're they're just doing their you know,

(51:26):
they'll they'll bounce back, but it just happens. You know,
Joe Borrow got hurt last year and they didn't. But
the previous two seasons, yeah, they were atrocious.

Speaker 4 (51:37):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (51:37):
And so now it's a situation where you can't afford
and I did that division to start like that. You
cannot afford to start like that. And so you don't
want to go out there opening week without Jamar Chase.

Speaker 3 (51:53):
You just don't.

Speaker 5 (51:55):
And I think these are the type of conversations that
are happening. So we'll see how this thing shakes out.

Speaker 3 (52:02):
I mean, we got seven days. We'll see it's coming
six days.

Speaker 4 (52:08):
Seven days.

Speaker 2 (52:09):
Yeah, well, hell, we got what four days till there's
a game, a game in four days?

Speaker 3 (52:15):
Four days?

Speaker 5 (52:16):
How about the I missed the field goal as he
drove down the field scores ten ten, drove down the
field to the about I guess the twenty yard line
and two seconds left on the clock. The kicker missed
the field goal and going to have time tied up
ten ten. It's a good game.

Speaker 2 (52:35):
Ten ten, Okay, perfect love that by the way, speaking
of the Bengals, you said they can't have a poor start.
They are by far and away the biggest favorite of
the week for Week one of all the NFL games.
Let's have this conversation coming up next. If you're in

(52:56):
a survivor pool, you need to be listening. Coming up
next with the I from Salama, Mark Willard, this is
Fox Sports Radio. Okay, Tyreck dot Com Studios.

Speaker 4 (53:10):
Rock with me. Are you in a survivor pool this year? No?
I'm not. No, I know you don't do that stuff.
You ain't got time for that.

Speaker 2 (53:22):
I'm in a couple and I used to swear these
off because I had like a run of like three
or four years in a row where I lost Week
one every time. And Week one is the hardest of
the hard because we think we know these teams, but
we don't know these teams. You just talked about how
the Bengals are notorious slow starters. I have heard that

(53:45):
at minimum the feel the vibes are off in camp.
There are questions about Burrow's health and Jamar Chase's contract,
and we don't even really know exactly who they're running
back is Zach Mass Chase Brown?

Speaker 4 (54:01):
Who are the Bengals this year.

Speaker 2 (54:02):
Well, they're nine point favorites at home Week one against
the New England Patriots, And everyone's decided that the Patriots
are awful as well. And while they may be, they
feel like a team that's going to start a rookie quarterback,
but they're not. They're not starting a rookie quarterback. They're

(54:23):
starting Jacoby Brissett. And Jacoby Brissette has won games in
the NFL, and he's won some for the New England Patriots. Actually,
that one feels like such a trap to me. But
I look around the rest of the schedule. Man if
I don't know if there's any survivor picks this whole week,

(54:45):
I don't know what to do. Would you go with
the Cincinnati Bengals or would you look for something else.
The next highest favorite is Buffalo, favored by six at
home against the Arizona Cardinals.

Speaker 3 (55:07):
I would take the Buffalo.

Speaker 4 (55:09):
More so than Cincy.

Speaker 3 (55:11):
Yeah, it's too many unknowns for Cincinnati.

Speaker 5 (55:17):
And we just talked about a historically slow start for
the last three years for them, no matter how much
how they no matter how good they ended, historically they've
had abysmal start for the three years, four years now
one in four years. But what we do know is
Josh Allen is there. They're going to run the ball, right,

(55:43):
So I would I would I feel more comfortable with
them Buffalo being at home, opposed to we don't know
what New England is and we don't know what Cincinnati is.

Speaker 4 (55:57):
What if I said to you that we don't know
who Buffalo, Yeah, but we do know.

Speaker 9 (56:01):
We do know who they have, and then they have
Josh Allen and he's healthy, so almost an entirely new
wide receiver corps.

Speaker 5 (56:12):
I get it, but you actually have someone to throw
them the ball. Yes, I would be concerned if we
were bringing in a young quarterback or an unproven quarterback
with unproven talent. Look, all talent is unproven until the
quarterbacks start throwing the ball to him.

Speaker 3 (56:30):
Correct. Yes, So it's it's one of those situations where.

Speaker 5 (56:37):
When you look at Buffalo the last portion of the
season and they started to do more ball control, and
you know a reason Stefan Diggs was ready to get
out of there because he wasn't targeted very much because
they had a different philosophy and how they were going
to attack opponents.

Speaker 3 (56:55):
And now what's through the run.

Speaker 5 (56:58):
And not have Josh Allen trying to every single throw,
every single down and put the ball in Horm's way.
So just building off of that, it wasn't like they
used Stefan Diggs the second half of the season like
he wanted. That obviously is why he's gone. So I

(57:18):
would I would feel more comfortable picking Buffalo and Josh
Allen over Cincinnati, and not just because he's my fantasy
football quarterback.

Speaker 2 (57:30):
Oh congratulations, congratulations got that one, Yep, couldn't. I also
make the case though, that last year the Buffalo Bills
were the NFL's biggest underachiever.

Speaker 3 (57:46):
Last year. Yeah, let me see.

Speaker 4 (57:49):
I mean they ended up making it all right, Yeah,
but we also.

Speaker 3 (57:56):
Got to keep in mind the gauntlet, which is the AFC.

Speaker 2 (58:00):
I mean, they people are going to be like underachiever.
They went eleven and six, they won five in a row.
They were sitting at six and six. Josh Allen was
second in the entire NFL in interceptions. He was a
turnover machine at times. I just felt like Buffalo ended
up being a pretty good football team that should have

(58:22):
been still better.

Speaker 5 (58:24):
Yeah, you can say that, but they still gave themselves
an opportunity to get to the playoffs and have an
opportunity to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (58:37):
So under cheap, biggest underachiever. I don't know if I'll
go that far.

Speaker 4 (58:45):
Who was if this wasn't them? Man, now you see
my memory, I know, And it depends on how you
look at it, right.

Speaker 2 (58:55):
I mean, Cowboys got blown off the field on their
their only playoff game at home.

Speaker 5 (59:00):
But I say underachieving me meaning not getting to the
playoffs to me, team, yes, perfect example, high hopes. You know,
coming off playoffs. You got the guy Trevor Lawrence. It's funny,
he's just healthy. And you can put the Chargers in

(59:22):
there as well.

Speaker 4 (59:23):
I was gonna say Chargers, yeah.

Speaker 5 (59:25):
But even then we didn't believe in the coach anyway,
So Brandon Staley never like even going into it. We
were like, man, they got all the pieces, but this
dude gonna ruin it somehow, and and he did again.
So even with that, yes, we had higher expectations for
the Chargers, but we understood what was going on there.

(59:49):
But Jacksonville absolutely and a division that was up for
up for grabs, literally up for grabs.

Speaker 2 (59:57):
Can I throw one more game at you? You into
the Survivor hopper. Yes, and this is from me to
you America, because I also you want to know why
I don't want to pick Cincinnati. It's not because I
think New England could go in there and beat them,
although of course they could. It's because when I see

(01:00:18):
a week and a game where I'm like, that's who
everyone's going to pick, I automatically, It's just the way
my brain works.

Speaker 4 (01:00:25):
I'm like, I want to pick that.

Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
I don't want to be a sheep number one and
number two, Like that's kind of how you win the
survivor pool.

Speaker 4 (01:00:35):
Is like, don't be on the big sinking ship. Be
on a different ship.

Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
Now you can outthink yourself and then that game wins
and you tried to get smart and you picked the
wrong Like, I get it, But what do you think
about this one? The third biggest favorite of the weekend
go with me now. I like this for two reasons.
The third biggest favorite of the weekend is the Seattle

(01:01:05):
Seahawks now number one. I think that the Seahawks could
be a sneaky sleeper this year. I don't think they're
going to be great, but I do think that they're
going to give people problems this year to a degree.
But secondarily, I bet you'd agree one of the better
home field advantages in the NFL. Oh combined with the

(01:01:29):
team that is visiting them, happens to be a team
that is starting a rookie quarterback week one. And while
he looked good in the preseason, I don't think Denver
is going to terrify anyone this year. He could be good.
I'm high on some of the rookie quarterbacks. I've become

(01:01:51):
more high on them after what I saw in some
of their preseason games, but those are still preseason games.
First ever NFL game for oh Nicks and it's against
the twelfth man in Seattle. That's what I'm thinking. That's tough,
That's what I'm thinking. What do you think about that
spread five and a half? I haven't half a good

(01:02:14):
quarterback on that. By the way, you don't have to
come the spread. They just got to win. But I'm
just telling you they're the theater.

Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
Well, the spread just gives me information.

Speaker 4 (01:02:23):
Yes, their biggest favorite of the weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
Yep, you see what you want. Vegas, they don't.

Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
They don't up a lot da dumb a lot like
they don't know what's gonna happen. They just know where
you're dumb, right, That's what I've noticed about Vegas.

Speaker 4 (01:02:40):
They don't know exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
What's gonna happen, but they know what you're thinking and
they know how to exploit that.

Speaker 5 (01:02:46):
And you know what I'm thinking, What are you thinking?
I'm thinking it's time for us to exploit someone to
give us this update. And that's one Steven He said, Wow, I.

Speaker 7 (01:03:02):
Think I need to contact HR for us to exploit
Steve Desager there he is just look at yim use
his voice. The sort of labor violation going out here, guys.
We will be talking about Scotty Scheffler and the finish
to the PGA Tour season next hour. Let's just say
he won and it wasn't a huge surprise and he's

(01:03:22):
still good. But this stat came across our desk here,
and that is that this is how good the season was.
Nearly ten percent of all the purses in all the
tournaments he played were won by him.

Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
Oh my gosh, oh god. In fact, oh my god.

Speaker 7 (01:03:39):
Tiger Woods during the two thousand season, one eleven point
six percent of the total prize money offered and all
the tournaments he played that season. This was nine point
two percent of all the money offered was won by
this one guy, Scottie Scheffler, who finished obviously one of
the great golf seasons of the last twe of years. Today,

(01:04:01):
so we will be getting to that. We do have
halftime in Las Vegas of tonight's college football game. Two
teams that are in the preseason top twenty five are
battling and it is tied USC ten LSU ten at
the break. And for a USC's offense, they're averaging eight
yards per play so far. Miller Moss at quarterback thirteen

(01:04:22):
to fifteen, one hundred and seventy six yards passing. Sc
did miss a twenty nine yard field goal attempt at
the end of this first half. LSU, on its first
drive of the game, a long one, eventually got to
a fourth and goal at the three, went forward and
threw incomplete still Garrett Nosemeiyer twenty of twenty four, one
hundred and ninety one yards passing and a touchdown for

(01:04:44):
LSU in the first half. Tomorrow, Boston College will play
at Florida State in Major League Baseball tonight top of
the ninth. The Braves are tied two to two at Philadelphia.
Phil starter Aaron Nola had nine strikeouts in his six
innings of work. The Phillies are the first place team
in the NLS, six games over the Breves. The Mets
won again two nothing at the White Sox, who've lost

(01:05:04):
ten in a row. In fact, we were talking about
the White Sox before. Believe me, we'll have more in
a moment. But I did see that this was a
homestand they not only lost ten in a row, they
just went oh to ten on the homestand oh my god,
the first oh to ten homestand in the long history
of the Chicago White Sox down but not their first

(01:05:26):
ten game losing streak. This is actually their third ten
game losing streak already this year. We just started September,
so since the All Star break, and yes they have
change managers, in case you're asking. Since the All Star break,
the White Sox record is a four and thirty six
and they keep playing. Arizona beat the Dodgers fourteen to three,

(01:05:48):
LA first place in the NS now five games over
the Diamondbacks, and Padre San Diego won four to three
at Tampa Bay. Baltimore a six to one winner at Colorado.
Orioles now just a half game behind the Yankees for
first in the Al East. Yankees lost at home fourteen
to seven to Saint Louis in eleven innings. Cincinnati edge
Milwaukee for three, and the Cubs are going for the

(01:06:09):
wild Card. They've won six straight. They won fourteen to
one at Washington. Remember the famous video of the Giants
Angels World Series when the little bat boy, manager Dusty
Baker's son was out to get the bat when whoops,
the play was still going and he was crossing home
plate as one of the Giants JT. Snow was scoring.

(01:06:30):
That little kid was Darren Baker. Today for the Washington Nationals.
He got his first major league hit. Oh wow, the
son of former manager Dusty Baker. And by the way,
Dusty was in the audience.

Speaker 2 (01:06:44):
Also, by the way, on the first pitch he ever
saw in the big league. One pitch, one hit.

Speaker 7 (01:06:50):
Speaking of one pitch, one hit. The Dodgers last night,
I believe, for the first time in their long history,
started a game with three consecutive home runs. Otani hit
one out to dead center, and then Mookie Betts hit
went out, and then Freddie Freeman hit went out. Those
three homers came on three consecutive pitches off the starting pitcher. Well,

(01:07:11):
you asked about the run differential of the Chicago White
Sox this year, It's not good. The Oakland A's just
by comparison, not a great team this year. The Oakland
A's have been outscored by seventy three runs so far
this year. The White Sox had been outscored by almost
three hundred runs. This year, run differential is a minus

(01:07:32):
two to ninety one with still four four weeks left
in the season. The A's were wretched last year. They
got outscored by three thirty nine, so that is still
in play for the White Sox to pass yet another
Can we use the word ignominious? Mark, You would have
to go back to the eighteen hundreds to find teams
that are doing worse than what the A's did last

(01:07:55):
year or what we appear to see what the White
Sox are going to do this year, because in the
twentieth century, it's the nineteen thirty two Red Sox would be.
I was going to say tops on the list, bottom
on the list of getting outscored by three hundred and
forty five runs in a season the White Sox anyway
you slice it, just flatbaed back to you.

Speaker 2 (01:08:17):
I was sitting here looking at this and just feeling
for anybody who bought tickets to go see them.

Speaker 4 (01:08:22):
This year.

Speaker 10 (01:08:24):
They've won eighteen games at home eighteen years in September. Wow,
eighteen out of seventy two. They played seventy two games.

Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
In that stadium, and people paid to go in every
time they won eighteen of them.

Speaker 4 (01:08:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:08:42):
In other words, that's twenty five games less than Cleveland
in their own division.

Speaker 4 (01:08:47):
Correct, Wow? Correct?

Speaker 2 (01:08:50):
Next worst home record in the entire BIGS or the
next lowest number after the eighteen scanning scanning, it's the
Marlins with twenty five.

Speaker 7 (01:09:01):
They're starting to get Marlin's type of crowd size, by
the way, in Chicago.

Speaker 4 (01:09:05):
Yeah, well deserved, well deserved.

Speaker 2 (01:09:10):
All right, Stee, thank you, thank you very much, as always,
talk to you again, next hour. Markability from salam tyraq
dot com Studios. Okay, just to put a ball on
this thing, because now there's a lot of steak here
for for people.

Speaker 4 (01:09:22):
Do you like you?

Speaker 8 (01:09:24):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
No, no, for everybody. These survivor pools has got a
lot of you know, there's a lot of uh units
that are shared on on on this especially at the
beginning of the year. There's a lot of Fredo's that
people put on this. So I want to get it right.

(01:09:49):
You like my Seattle idea.

Speaker 5 (01:09:51):
Seattle is good. That is a good idea. I do
like bow knicks, But that's a that's a tough task.
That's a tough task to go up there and and
and and be huh, yeah, that's a good pick. That's

(01:10:11):
a good pick.

Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
I'm just looking at this whole NFC, and I know
that people think that the sex appeal is all, not all,
but mostly in the AFC this year.

Speaker 4 (01:10:22):
That's where largely a lot of the quote unquote top
teams reside.

Speaker 2 (01:10:28):
If you if you look at the big time Super
Bowl favorites in the top five, the forty nine ers
are usually the only NFC team that really penetrate that
You're gonna get a lot of Chiefs, You're gonna get
a lot of Ravens, You're gonna get a lot of Bills.
You're gonna even get some some Bengals and some Dolphins
and Texans and and you know, somewhere in there you

(01:10:51):
start to mix in the other NFC favorites.

Speaker 4 (01:10:54):
The Lions, the Eagles, the Packers. I'm looking in the.

Speaker 2 (01:11:01):
And honestly from outside of Carolina, the New York Giants,
and then to like varying degrees, I guess Vikings and Cardinals.

Speaker 4 (01:11:19):
There's very few teams that.

Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
I can sit here and go, I know that they're
gonna be bad. Like you could convince me if you
told me right now. Watch out for the Rams, watch
out for the Seahawks, watch out for the Bucks, watch
out for the Falcons, watch out for the Bears, watch
out for the Commanders.

Speaker 4 (01:11:40):
I don't think that those are crazy statements, any of them.

Speaker 5 (01:11:47):
No, yeah, that's that's true. I look, when you get
new energy, new talent, you never know how people are, teams,
our organizations are going to respond. I we all literally
thought Dan Campbell was out of his mind when he

(01:12:07):
was talking about Biiten kneecaps, and.

Speaker 3 (01:12:11):
Three years removed from that, look where we are.

Speaker 4 (01:12:15):
He calls out of his mind. Yeah, he is out
of his mind, but for totally different reasons.

Speaker 5 (01:12:19):
Totally different reasons. And who knew you had to be
out of your mind to change that organization? Yep, right, like,
which makes sense now in hindsight, you can't go in
there with the same level of optimism and and bravado
as you as anyone else has because it's never worked.
So he went and with a whole nother level, and

(01:12:39):
coming from a former player who played there. He knew
he played there, so he knew what that felt like there,
Like he knew, this isn't what it is. I mentioned
it all the time when I played there my twelfth
year in the league. I was, ah, it is not
even like the NFL. I was like, yes, it is

(01:13:01):
not even this isn't even NFL worthy.

Speaker 4 (01:13:09):
Yeah, I get it.

Speaker 3 (01:13:11):
I was, this feels awkward.

Speaker 2 (01:13:13):
You watch what those fans went through in that NFC
championship game, and I just wanted to grab all the
other fans, even forty nine er fans after the Super Bowl,
and go, whatever your heartbreak is. It doesn't compare to
that the Lions thing. Watching what happened to the faces.

Speaker 4 (01:13:33):
Of their fans, of their players.

Speaker 2 (01:13:35):
Oh my gosh, when like the cruelty of never being
there getting doubled by you're going, haha, just kidding, You're
not knowing, No, you're not.

Speaker 4 (01:13:51):
I was like, oh my god, I'm rooting for the
other team, and I still feel bad.

Speaker 3 (01:13:56):
Like it would have. It would have been such a
great moment of great story, right right, and Ego gotten
a way of it. How about that? Man, that's how
we got here. Hey man, it's not the same game.

Speaker 4 (01:14:11):
Yeah yeah, that's not how you're gonna leave here.

Speaker 2 (01:14:16):
Okay, we're gonna get back to football stuff because there's
a few conversations still dangling at the top of the hour.
But coming up next. I got two things in the
hoops world that I gotta throw by you. Look who
has a winning record poof that fast. We'll tell you
about that in a moment with me from Salama, Mark Willard,

(01:14:38):
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (01:14:47):
All right, Tyreck dot Com Studios.

Speaker 2 (01:14:50):
It's interesting that we're listening to more money, more problems.
I would argue that the w NBA right now has
more money and less problems. Things have gotten a little
bit better up in the world of the WNBA, not
just because Caitlyn Clark and Angel Rees became household names

(01:15:12):
and because the fans all came to the yard.

Speaker 4 (01:15:16):
But they're gonna keep them there too. They're gonna keep them.

Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
It's one thing to build hype, it's a completely different
thing in sports to connect on that hype.

Speaker 4 (01:15:28):
To live up to the hype.

Speaker 2 (01:15:30):
Caitlin Clark has gone from the biggest name in college
to the number one overall pick, to the social controversies
to now just winner. I mean, the stats are great,
but since they all came back from the Olympic break

(01:15:52):
six and one, the Fever now have e from a
winning record.

Speaker 4 (01:15:58):
They were they were a joke at the beginning of
the year.

Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
They couldn't function as a team, and now that quickly
this backcourt duo of Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.

Speaker 4 (01:16:14):
If you've never watched her.

Speaker 2 (01:16:15):
Play, he's too combined for like sixty five points today
I think it was.

Speaker 4 (01:16:24):
And.

Speaker 2 (01:16:26):
They've got a winning record. They're gonna go to the playoffs.
This is all sustainable, That's what it says to me.

Speaker 5 (01:16:35):
Yeah, it is sustainable. It's a tough part of the
season for them. They're gonna lose viewers rapidly, sure, but
that's anything. Yeah outside of football. Baseball's losing viewers, So
it'll be less commentary on what's going on in the WNBA.

Speaker 3 (01:17:01):
From here until the end of the season. The best
thing that could happen.

Speaker 8 (01:17:07):
Is for.

Speaker 5 (01:17:11):
Kaylin Kark and the Fever to make it to the No,
this is a lot to ask, I mean, you know,
but the best thing for the league would be to
have her play in the finals. Absolutely, I mean that
would be perfect. Actually that would be scripted if they

(01:17:31):
only knew a Hollywood writer who could possibly.

Speaker 4 (01:17:39):
Pin that.

Speaker 5 (01:17:39):
And not only that, but have them play against the
Las Vegas Aces of course, right, that's what you want.
But look, I'm excited. I'm excited for the WNBA. I'm
excited for Kailn I'm excited for Angel Reese as well.
I'm excited for all the rookie classes showed out and

(01:18:02):
they have. I mean they all have come into the
league and showed out and drees. You know, there is
a double double machine at college level and at the
pro level.

Speaker 3 (01:18:13):
I believe she had nineteen and like twenty or nineteen
and fifteen or something like that. Today she has the.

Speaker 5 (01:18:19):
Rookie record for double doubles in a season. Like all
of these things bowled well for the rest of their
run in the WNBA, And I love it because the
talent that's coming behind them, Some of the talent like
Juju at SC still in college, they too are dynamic players.

(01:18:44):
They too are going to shatter records in the NT DOUBLEA.
So all of that energy is just it's brewing. People
are paying attention now, and I'm happy for them because
they deserve it. No, going back to commercial flights, you guys,
I think you did it, and.

Speaker 2 (01:19:00):
Then I promised one other basketball thing, and I just
I gotta get.

Speaker 4 (01:19:05):
A one minute reaction from you on this one year extension.

Speaker 11 (01:19:11):
Sixty two point six million, guy dollars, one year sixty
two point six.

Speaker 5 (01:19:24):
Yeah, because million dollars his final year of that deal
prior to this year. Who there what sixty sixty million, sixty.

Speaker 2 (01:19:31):
One fifty nine fifty nine. Yeah, it's only it's only
a small raise. It's only small rays. We're all screaming
and yelling about the quarterbacks. Steph Curry's making seven million more.

Speaker 3 (01:19:45):
Yeah, it's it's you know, you know so much for
those rumors of him teaming up with Lebron.

Speaker 4 (01:19:53):
Oh no, don't worry about that. It could just be
with the Warriors.

Speaker 3 (01:19:56):
No, No, we're not doing that. I mean, I did
not do it. Anybody going up to it, you know, No,
you ain't nobody going.

Speaker 4 (01:20:03):
Up there, going up there.

Speaker 5 (01:20:09):
I mean maybe there is some people might come up
there and nobody's coming up there. Man, why not his
son play in? LA is gonna be they? He gon
he going, They're going together. I don't know, right, Pagage.

Speaker 4 (01:20:23):
Deal, I didn't. I mean you said nobody was going
up there. I didn't. I mean, maybe that doesn't have
to be Lebron somebody else.

Speaker 3 (01:20:31):
And nobody going up there.

Speaker 4 (01:20:35):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (01:20:37):
We're gonna get back uh to the NFL and the
receiver situation and much more coming up next. Take a moment, brother,
take a moment, Take a moment, and bring this in.
I want you to bring this in now, bringing it,
bringing in, bringing in, bringing in everybody.

Speaker 4 (01:20:51):
Huddle up, huddle up.

Speaker 2 (01:20:53):
This is the start of the last hour of this show,
but for the NFL season begins.

Speaker 4 (01:21:06):
Ready break.

Speaker 3 (01:21:12):
Just looking.

Speaker 5 (01:21:13):
I don't know if you've been able to, you know,
peculiar device or something like that. To watch this game
is amazing. I got nothing, brother, I got you, I
got you. I got the internet. I got the Internet.
I can see that sc is up thirteen to ten.
I can see that LSU's driving. I can see that
it's getting late in the third quarter.

Speaker 3 (01:21:34):
Man's good.

Speaker 4 (01:21:35):
That's what I can see.

Speaker 2 (01:21:36):
But if you're asking me if I can see, like
quarterbacks dropping back, running backs looking for the A gap,
defensive backs trying to stay with I can't see any
of that.

Speaker 4 (01:21:47):
Can't see it, can't do.

Speaker 3 (01:21:48):
It, man, jayde and Daniels. They're interviewing him right now
on the sideline.

Speaker 4 (01:21:53):
Oh, I like him this year.

Speaker 3 (01:21:55):
He's gonna be good. I told you, I told you.

Speaker 2 (01:21:57):
Well, don't say told you yet because we be wrong.
But I feel like a big old flip flopper on
this one. I feel like it was about four weeks ago.
I was like, man, there's too much hype around this
quarterback class. And then I watched some of them play
at length in the preseason minute when I know that
it's just preseason and I've been down this road before

(01:22:19):
and we've all been duped before.

Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
But I was like, oh gosh. And then you start
thinking about history because that's like a known thing.

Speaker 2 (01:22:31):
Don't be stupid, don't get wooed again by what happens
in preseason. But then you go, wait a minute, more
recent history with new rules and the relaxing of stuff
around the quarterback, the way this league operates now, and
thinking about what CJ. Stroud did just a year ago,
Like man, if you're that talented and you find a

(01:22:53):
good situation or anything's possible, you could play right away.
You could boogy Man. And these guys look good. They
look good, so we'll see you're high on all of them.
Bow Nick's Jaydon Daniels, Caleb Williams, Pennix is not playing,
McCarthy's out for the year. Are you high on the

(01:23:15):
three that are going to be playing? May's not playing
right out of the gate? I am, I am, because
they've they've shown me, you know, the ability to to
to to come in and be.

Speaker 5 (01:23:30):
Be at ease right and in terms of not letting
it be too big, right, just being under control, under
pressure so on, and so you know, it's just you
don't want to be frantic, and it's like it's a
new breed man. These kids are coming in and and
they're ready to hand the bull. The shout out to
the teams for putting place pieces in place to give

(01:23:52):
them the best opportunity, right, Like the teams are no
longer just drafting that guy and then going to work
on some other stuff and like he's going to be
the one to come in and save us. They're actually
doing the work and building out rosters and giving you
an opportunity to to you know, give them.

Speaker 3 (01:24:10):
LSU scores touchdown, LSU touchdown. LSU boy.

Speaker 4 (01:24:16):
This game they take the lead, sixteen to thirteen, extra
point on the way.

Speaker 3 (01:24:20):
Yep. But look, it's it's.

Speaker 5 (01:24:24):
It's a new day in an age where just as
recently as you know what four years ago, when the
Bears took justin fields, they didn't really do anything for
justin fields. Right, it was this notion that this quarterback
has come even Arizona and Kyler Murray, this quarterback is

(01:24:45):
coming in to save us, and they're talent enough. They're
talented enough to save us. So let's go get some defenses,
you know, some safeties. It's like no, man, no, yeah, no, bro,
go spend the money in the in the in the preseason,
get some offensive linemen. We'll get some veteran receivers, all

(01:25:09):
of those things, right, Like, you gotta build it around
these young quarterbacks. And and and I think that's you know,
we've been able to see that, and that's exciting.

Speaker 2 (01:25:23):
If I was justin fields and I I've not heard
this or or whatever, but yeah, would you would would
you look at the Bears right now and throw your
hands up.

Speaker 3 (01:25:34):
And be like, really, guys, yo, I would be upset.

Speaker 4 (01:25:39):
Really.

Speaker 2 (01:25:39):
You let me sit there and run around, and I'm
looking for Dante Pettison, Equanminius, Saint Brown. You give me
Dj Moore at the end, but I don't really get
a full runway of a full season.

Speaker 4 (01:25:54):
I suffer some injuries as well. Then you dump me
so that you can bring in a new QB.

Speaker 2 (01:26:02):
But while you get a new QB, you rework your
offensive line a little bit. You signed Keenan Allen, You
give Dj Moore a massive extension and use another top
ten pick on another.

Speaker 4 (01:26:14):
Receiver, and you signed DeAndre Swift to be in the backfield.

Speaker 3 (01:26:22):
Really, guys, doesn't seem fair.

Speaker 2 (01:26:28):
I mean I remember, like I was a nothing high
school basketball player. But like my claim to fame was,
I had a different coach all four years.

Speaker 3 (01:26:38):
All four years, so you were getting closes fired every year.

Speaker 4 (01:26:41):
Well, brother, they getting themselves fired.

Speaker 2 (01:26:45):
But anyway, that's right, that's right if only they had
But anyway, no, cause it's like I get it. It's
kind of like Alex Smith when he was with the Niners.
He had a different offensive court. It are like four
or five years in a row, like you get no continuity,
You just you can't get anything going. Yeah, And I

(01:27:08):
do like somehow, after all these years, I'm still justin
Field's curious. We still don't know right a little bit
like I think we know some, but I don't feel
like we've got the full answer yet.

Speaker 3 (01:27:26):
I agree with that.

Speaker 2 (01:27:28):
If I if I were to ask you to set
the over under on how many games justin Field starts
this year, what would you put it out for?

Speaker 4 (01:27:38):
On purpose or because of injury?

Speaker 3 (01:27:41):
On purpose?

Speaker 2 (01:27:42):
All of them on purpose? Yeah, Okay, Like, what do
you think you're going to see from Russell this year?

Speaker 5 (01:27:51):
I think Russell's we'll see what we've always seen. I
think we'll see what we've always seen.

Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
I would argue that we've seen different things from Russell
Wilson at different times.

Speaker 5 (01:28:03):
Well, if you look at his numbers year by year,
you've pretty much seen the same thing. The difference is
he's been helped immensely by the defensive side of the ball.
It's a good point, but he's been him. You look

(01:28:24):
at his numbers last year, even in his down year
so to speak, in Denver. You look at these numbers
and they're very close to what he's shown us time
in and time out like this is these are this
is Russell.

Speaker 2 (01:28:50):
I mean he barely Look he missed a couple starts
last year, but he barely got over three thousand yards.

Speaker 4 (01:28:58):
He does not run the same way that he used to.
Nobody does. Yeah, I get you.

Speaker 2 (01:29:04):
Like a quarterback rating of ninety eight with twenty six
touchdowns and eight interceptions. That's not horrible at all by
any stretch. In fact, you could argue that's really really good.
But you watch the games.

Speaker 3 (01:29:18):
They don't look right. It doesn't feel like.

Speaker 4 (01:29:21):
Yeah, there's weird decisions being made.

Speaker 5 (01:29:24):
Yeah, it just it didn't feel like it worked right
those two years in Denver. It didn't feel like at
any point they were on the same page, both coaching staffs,
and so the common denominator in that is Russell. So
immediately it's like, oh, okay, well this this isn't it's

(01:29:48):
it's a Russell thing. And well, Russell is going to
be able to come in. He's going to, you know,
win some games. He's got a tremendous defense and it'll fit.
He has a nasee. They have a great running game,

(01:30:12):
so it'll be more of a comfort to him. Uh,
similar to what he's he's dealt with before, you know
what I mean, Like he's been in that situation where
you have a dynamic defense and you don't have to

(01:30:33):
to play you know, catch up defense, gonna give him
the ball back, they gonna put pressure on the quarterback,
They're gonna have short feels, they gonna have all of
those things. And that's what he came into the to
the league with and that's where he feels more the
most comfort him every game coming from behind. That's very

(01:31:01):
few quarterbacks that you can't handle that sure.

Speaker 4 (01:31:04):
Sure, no, no, no, I get that. I get that,
and you're right like he is.

Speaker 2 (01:31:10):
You know, I can hear someone at the same time
be like Mike Tomlin has like squeezed the orange better
than anyone. He's gotten that Super Bowl victory from so
long ago, and now he makes the playoffs most of
the time, but it's like barely over five hundred and
and you know, you kind of meekly go out of
the out of the playoffs. But at the same time,

(01:31:32):
I can hear the other side of that story, which
is even with no quarterback, you have a coach that
can get nine wins, Like they've got a structure there. Yeah,
with a defense and pieces and it's smart and and
all of that. That's a smart organization. And now you
surround Russ with that, I get that. Yeah, I don't

(01:31:52):
think it's gonna look terrible. So then if you if
that's your prediction, why do you think Justin's gonna play
for a game?

Speaker 5 (01:31:58):
I just think they'll find places to give him some options, right, Like,
no one is locked in as the start, Like obviously
it took all of training camp at plus to name
the starter. I think they're going to be under the

(01:32:19):
notion that And don't be a look, I wouldn't be
surprised if there were packages put in for Justin Fields. Okay, seriously,
I wouldn't be surprised if he's playing in week one.

(01:32:39):
He's just just watching him. He brings a different element,
brings a completely different element to the game, complete change
of pace, and I think they're going to utilize that.

Speaker 2 (01:32:55):
You very well could be right. I'm so fascinated to
check that one out. Has definitely been the most talked
about backup quarterback of the preseason for sure. We're broadcasting
live from the Tyraq dot Com studios. Tyrack dot Com
will help you get there on that selection, fast free shipping,
free road ASID protection in over ten thousand recommended installers,

(01:33:17):
tyrock dot com The way tire buying should be. It's
Mark Willardy from Salam coming up next. Earlier in the show,
you said that the wide receiver financial bubble is going
to burst. Let's get back to that because I'd love
to know when and how that's coming up on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 12 (01:33:37):
I don't want to be a player no more. I
really don't, Mark, I'm telling you, I don't want to
be a player no more.

Speaker 4 (01:33:56):
I believe you. I believe you. I know not to
get in your way now, but I believe you.

Speaker 2 (01:34:07):
Livinthetire rag dot com Studios, Mark Willity from Salam And
by the way, shortly after the show, podcast goes up.
If you missed any of the show today, got to
check it out on the podcast got into it all
over the league. Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you
get your podcasts. Be sure to also follow, rate and

(01:34:28):
review the podcast.

Speaker 4 (01:34:29):
Again.

Speaker 2 (01:34:29):
Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts,
and you will see this show posted right after we
get off of the air. Now there's a Steve di
Seger soire coming here in just about eight or nine minutes,
and he'll give you the latest on LSU and USC,

(01:34:52):
especially for those of you who can't see it because
you are Direct TV customers, Direct TV versus ESPN and ABC.
Disney is on UH and the TV station is off,
and so LSU's up by four fourth quarter SC with
the ball.

Speaker 4 (01:35:11):
He will keep you up to date. We will keep
you up to date.

Speaker 2 (01:35:14):
Now, you said something earlier that I want to circle
back to because Jamar Chase is still the only one
that we don't really know exactly what's going to happen.
Ceedee Lamb is in a yuk is in the off
season of contractual boom for wide receivers from Justin Jefferson

(01:35:34):
to DJ Moore to Arman Ross Saint Brown to Jalen
Waddle to Devonte Smith, AJ Brown and Moore is largely complete.
But you said the bubble's going to burst, and I
want to know how and when I agree with you
that it should. But how how does the NFL put

(01:35:55):
the toothpaste back in the tube?

Speaker 4 (01:35:57):
Here?

Speaker 5 (01:35:57):
Well, when when teams realize the more teams win and
go deep in the playoffs without one of those high
priced receivers, the less value teams will place on them.
The reason there's a boom there and not at the
running back position is because, for the most part, outside

(01:36:23):
of the Niners, who have the best running back, which
is an all purpose back, in the league, no teams
that specialize in running the ball represent their conference in
the playoffs. I mean, in the Super Bowl or win
the Super Bowl. Case in point, excuse me, the Kansas

(01:36:47):
City Chiefs. It's a Patrick Mahomes thing. And I'm telling you,
if the Chiefs win again, right, gotta remember.

Speaker 3 (01:37:01):
When uh, when.

Speaker 5 (01:37:04):
Terreek Hill decided to go yep, people were freaking out,
Oh my god, what are they gonna do?

Speaker 3 (01:37:12):
What are they gonna do without Terreek hu? Oh, win
the super Bowl. That's it. We're gonna win the Super
Bowl again.

Speaker 2 (01:37:21):
And so now no, no, no, no, no, they're gonna
win twice super Bowls, twice two super Bowls.

Speaker 5 (01:37:28):
And so now people are like, oh, guys, just Patrick
mahomettack my own patic Mahomes. So everybody's rushing to pay
these receivers. What's going to happen is let them go again.
Let another team who didn't have one of these issues, right,
or let God forbid something happened to one of say,

(01:37:49):
you know, I don't want to even say any name,
but say a team who did pay a receiver something
happens in terms of injury wise, and they still make
it to the super Bowl without the serve says of that.
That's when everybody starts like wait a minute, hold on
woo time.

Speaker 2 (01:38:04):
Well it gosta and it feels so kind of circumstantial.
And I'm really looking at it this year, like I
want to know, how are you performing if you're paying
no receivers Packers, Bills, Ravens, Chiefs, yep. Or if you're

(01:38:26):
paying one receiver Cowboys sort of Cowboys, Lions, Rams, Seahawks,
or what happens if you're paying two Dolphins, forty nine Ers, Eagles, Texans.

Speaker 3 (01:38:56):
Yeah, it's it's like to meet the road.

Speaker 2 (01:38:59):
Yeah, the doubt is going to be there based on that,
And I really don't know, you know, like my take
because I was on the air when this broke about
Ayuk the other day and I didn't really strike the
cord that I think a lot of our listeners wanted
me to strike because the forty nine er fans are like, wee,
like he's in and I'm like good, like great player.

(01:39:26):
But if this just wrote down in ink that debo
is gone after the year. Sorry if I'm like not
thrilled with this, like I don't, I don't think that's
good for the forty nine.

Speaker 3 (01:39:40):
It is not good for the forty nine ers. It's not.
You don't have to think it. It's not. They have
a specialist that no one else has. No one in
the league has a.

Speaker 5 (01:39:54):
D ball nobody and the value of that in itself
it's almost priceless because you can do things that no
one else can do with that talent.

Speaker 1 (01:40:11):
And so.

Speaker 5 (01:40:14):
It's one of those situations where if you do lose
debo next year and Brandon and I youk is there
and the offense just doesn't quite look like it you
know it did because it's gonna be hard to pay
debo and.

Speaker 3 (01:40:33):
Uh brock party and Brandon and Brandon.

Speaker 4 (01:40:39):
And Trent and George and Fred a lot.

Speaker 5 (01:40:45):
So you chose you picked the receiver. This will inform
us on when that bubble was about to bring.

Speaker 2 (01:40:54):
Well, you know the other thing, and you'll love this
as an old lineman and a former left tackle.

Speaker 4 (01:40:59):
Like the other.

Speaker 2 (01:41:00):
The other thing that that really hit me was everybody
watching the Niners was just stressing all off season. Oh gosh,
the vibes are bad and it's too much drama and everybody.
Then the holdouts, the holdouts, the holdouts, and this is
not okay. And then Brandon signs and everyone's.

Speaker 4 (01:41:21):
Like, Okay, what a relief. And I'm like, wait a minute.

Speaker 2 (01:41:25):
The one that you said you can't win without is
still unsigned. And by the way, I should say it differently,
he is signed. He's holding out, like that's the one
you gotta play with, that's the one that has to
be there. And there's a game a week from tomorrow
and Trent is still not there, and stories are starting

(01:41:48):
to hit the internet that he is getting mad, he's
starting to get frustrated.

Speaker 4 (01:41:56):
So as he's good, I just, you know, to me
the and I agree with you on that, by the way.

Speaker 2 (01:42:04):
You know, you know how it is when players hold
out you start getting to the end here and the
fans start.

Speaker 4 (01:42:09):
Getting real mad. I'm totally in full support of Trent
on this one.

Speaker 3 (01:42:15):
The man has no guaranteed money on his contract.

Speaker 4 (01:42:17):
None, and he's thirty six and.

Speaker 2 (01:42:20):
Left the game and and and football hurts like hell
and I and and I and plus he's handling it quietly.

Speaker 4 (01:42:28):
I don't know what he's asking for. I think I
can take a good guess.

Speaker 2 (01:42:33):
You know. I got real frustrated with with Ayuk because
he took the deal that essentially was well above what
he originally asked for two months ago. He got that
offer at the beginning, at the beginning of camp, and
he opted to sit camp out.

Speaker 3 (01:42:48):
Wasted time. Waste of time. Man, it's this soft tissue
uh yept hand string.

Speaker 2 (01:42:56):
Yep, yep, yep. So I'm I'm you know, I'm one
of these people. I didn't show up to the party
when when it happened on Thursday, you know, everybody wanted
to throw a party. I was like, ah, this doesn't
feel good. Trent's still not there, and I'm you know,

(01:43:20):
I think it might mean that that debo is out soon.
I got concerns, that's all. But anyway, I have no
concerns over the next few minutes of our lives. No, none, Zeroun,
Because we handed over to the most capable person in
the face of planet Earth, and he goes by the

(01:43:40):
name of Steve de Sager.

Speaker 4 (01:43:42):
We are now done exploiting him. We are now just
listening to him. Good evening.

Speaker 7 (01:43:47):
Once again, gentlemen, we have eight forty five to go.
LSU leads USC seventeen thirteen in Las Vegas. So that's
a four point deficit for coach Lincoln Riley. How about
this stat about the coach from True Media Sports Analytics
at USC. When Lincoln Riley is trailing a ranked team

(01:44:08):
by four points or more at any point in the
fourth quarter, he is winless zero and five. Stay tuned because.

Speaker 3 (01:44:16):
It's fourth and nine right now.

Speaker 7 (01:44:17):
Keep in mind this would be closer if s he
had just made a twenty nine yard field goal attempt
at the end of the first Oh my, oh.

Speaker 3 (01:44:25):
Get it as a fumble? Uh oh first downing.

Speaker 7 (01:44:28):
Oh, it's a fourth and nine. He's talking about it's
too far.

Speaker 4 (01:44:33):
I'm knowing fourth and nine. Fourth and nine if you're
a USC fan.

Speaker 2 (01:44:37):
Fourth and nine has a whole different meaning in the
history of USC football, but this one's a little bit different.

Speaker 7 (01:44:43):
So incomplete and that would be a turnover on downs
unless something I don't see a flag, So turnover on downs.
With about eight and a half minutes to go in
this one, LSU with the ball and the lead against
the Trojans in the season opener, for each. Garrett Nosemayer
twenty five of thirty one passing two hundred and thirty
four yards and two touchdowns. Tomorrow Boston College at Florida

(01:45:06):
State Friday night on FS one, Duke at Northwestern Saturday
night on FS one, Kansas at Illinois. The LA Rams
are hiring former Nebraska coach Scott Frost as an analyst.
Forty nine ers first round wide receiver Ricky Piersoll is
out of the hospital after being shot yesterday in a
robbery attempt in San Francisco. And yes, Disney has removed

(01:45:27):
all of its channels from DirecTV in a carriage dispute.
Just if you're wondering, I was going to watch free
form tonight and it ain't there. That's the problem. Scottie
Scheffler won the PGA's Tour Championship. We might have more
on that in just a minute. Coco Golf lost her
fourth round match at the US Open in three sets
to fellow American Emma Navarro. In the WNBA, Las Vegas

(01:45:49):
was a winner at Phoenix, ninety seven to seventy nine
Asia Wilson forty one points, seventeen rebounds and no turnovers.
Indiana won its game at Dallas one hundred to tie three.
Caitlin Clark twenty eight points. She had twelve assists, seven turnovers.
You mentioned the fever over the five hundred mark for
the first time this year. It's for the first time

(01:46:10):
in five years, a league record. They're seventeen and sixteen
and Minnesota Beach Chicago seventy nine to seventy four. Angel
reached nineteen rebounds in defeat. She breaks the WNBA rebounding
record for a single season. NASCAR's regular season has ended
tonight with the Southern five hundred. The winner this evening
is Chase Briscoe. He earns the final playoff spot. Kyle

(01:46:31):
Busch finished second and missed the playoffs to Major League
Baseball Philadelphia and eleven inning winner over Atlanta three to two.
The Mets won again two nothing at the White Sox.
White Sox have dropped ten in a row. All of
these ten were at home Arizona fourteen to three over
the Dodgers, who, let's just say, their bullpen is a
tad overworked by this point of the season, so whoever

(01:46:53):
was starting today was just going to stay.

Speaker 3 (01:46:56):
In the game.

Speaker 7 (01:46:56):
Sorry, take one for the team. They didn't burn the
ball and they lost fourteen to three instead of something lesser.
The Dodgers are first in the NLS, now five games
over the Diamondbacks, and Padres San Diego won its game
with a run top of the ninth four to three
at Tampa Bay. Baltimore and Saint Louis with win Cincinnati
and eleven innings beat Milwaukee for to three, And guys,

(01:47:17):
we talk often in golf that Live Golf for any
tournament gives four million dollars. That is a whopping amount
to the winner. Scotti Scheffler was the Tour Championship winner
on the PGA Tour by four strokes over Colin Morikawa, who,
by the way, was twenty two under par this weekend,
which would win most normal tournaments.

Speaker 3 (01:47:37):
All of them.

Speaker 7 (01:47:38):
Scheffler gets the first prize of twenty five million dollars. Apparently,
when the Live Golf Season Championship comes up in Chicago
in a couple weeks, that'll be eighteen mil for that winner.
And then, by the way, the week after that is
the Live Golf Team Championship in Dallas, and I know
everyone in the greater Dallas area will have their eyes

(01:48:00):
glued on that. While the Cowboys are playing a home
game against Baltimore on Fox TV. Anyway, we had Scheffler
winning this big bonus money. He had already won almost
thirty million dollars in official money in the regular season,
and then there's the bonus for the regular season title,
and then he wins this in Atlanta today. So this
season he earns over sixty two million dollars. Whoa in

(01:48:24):
one year. That's not endorsements, that's on the course.

Speaker 4 (01:48:28):
That's on the course.

Speaker 7 (01:48:29):
Sixty two million dollars. The guy won eight times this year,
including the Olympic gold. It was the best season since
Tiger Woods in two thousand and six. To put in
another way, Scheffler finished out of the top ten this
year only three times. In nineteen starts. Only the top
thirty players were still alive this week in Atlanta. Scheffler

(01:48:51):
has been the top seed at this season finale three
straight years. He took it today. This season finale had
a staggered start, so the number one guy started the
week at the top the leader board. He gets the
bonus money, the twenty five mil. He's crowned FedEx Cup champ.
He gets also a five year PGA tour exemption, which
I'm sure he was sweating. He gets number one prize money.

(01:49:12):
Colin Morikawa was second to Hit. Tagala was third guys yesterday.
Tagala is a golfer who called a two shot penalty
on himself oh no, yep, for possibly brushing a small
amount of sand on a bunker shot. He closed with
a sixty four. Today, he finished two shots behind Colin Morikawa,

(01:49:34):
which is a difference of five million dollars. As the
AP story from yesterday said, the video replay of that
maybe illegal shot from a bunker on the third hole
yesterday did not make it clear he had done anything.
But as he put it, pretty sure, I breached the rules.
So I'm paying the price for it, and I feel

(01:49:55):
good about it.

Speaker 4 (01:49:56):
We don't, I said, I feel terrible.

Speaker 7 (01:50:00):
Second place got twelve and a half million dollars today,
third place seven and a half MILLI back to you.

Speaker 2 (01:50:07):
I mean, what's but yeah, but that's always one of
those things where you look at it like the goll
of how much did.

Speaker 4 (01:50:13):
He Stevee's still there? How much did he win?

Speaker 3 (01:50:15):
Seven?

Speaker 4 (01:50:16):
How much did he did he win today? Seven?

Speaker 7 (01:50:17):
Seven and a half?

Speaker 3 (01:50:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:50:18):
Seven? Okay? So how like I love this stuff with
human beings.

Speaker 2 (01:50:25):
Do you focus on, man, that guy lost five million
dollars today, yes, Or are you like, man, that dude
made seven million dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:50:36):
No.

Speaker 7 (01:50:36):
People who don't have five million say, my goodness that
that costs him five million dollars.

Speaker 3 (01:50:42):
Because I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:50:43):
Man, sure though, yeah, that's the whole problem. There's a
process for reason. But right, and he'll what he feel sure?
He was like, I'm pretty sure.

Speaker 3 (01:50:56):
I think so.

Speaker 4 (01:50:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:50:57):
So now he sleeps at night and he's still seven
million dollars sit.

Speaker 3 (01:51:02):
On a bed of sleep, on the bed of money.

Speaker 4 (01:51:04):
No he can't.

Speaker 5 (01:51:07):
The rule they get paid for a reason, the infraction
police or whatever they're called.

Speaker 7 (01:51:13):
What it makes this different with golf because you have
had viewers in the past literally call in and say, oh,
that guy used to towel when he put his knees
down on the tough shot. You know this wasn't that.

Speaker 3 (01:51:22):
Nobody was calling, no one. He just was like, I
think I did not sure.

Speaker 7 (01:51:28):
Exact quote, I'm not one hundred percent sure. I'd say
I'm ninety eight ninety nine percent sure that.

Speaker 3 (01:51:35):
That's not sure. It's not my jobs yours.

Speaker 2 (01:51:40):
But if I'm telling you I'm ninety nine percent sure
something happened. It happened. It happens, especially if he did it,
it happened. And if you care about that stuff, like
I listen, I'm not being high and mighty here. It
sounds like it, but I'm not gonna know because I'm
not going to tell you that. When I get to
the grocery. You know the car, and you're right, you

(01:52:02):
find something in your cart where you're like, oops, I
forgot to beat that.

Speaker 4 (01:52:06):
Do I run back in?

Speaker 3 (01:52:07):
I have the I'll do that.

Speaker 4 (01:52:10):
Yeah, okay, Well then then you're arguing on both sides.

Speaker 5 (01:52:13):
No, I'm not.

Speaker 8 (01:52:14):
I'm not what he wants to feel good about what
he did? What I seven million dollars? What did he
what did he report himself doing?

Speaker 4 (01:52:25):
Steve, he touched the sand with his club, which is illegal.

Speaker 7 (01:52:29):
He thought some sand moved.

Speaker 4 (01:52:31):
Yeah, he moved the sand with his club. You can't
do that.

Speaker 3 (01:52:34):
Yeah, he thought some sand move. Ninety nine percent sure.
And when they went and looked at the video, what
they say are good.

Speaker 4 (01:52:43):
They couldn't tell you, but they weren't. But they're not
holding the club.

Speaker 3 (01:52:46):
Bank he is.

Speaker 7 (01:52:48):
No, the play stands after video review.

Speaker 4 (01:52:53):
There you have it. There, ye have it.

Speaker 3 (01:52:56):
Thank you, Steve. Appreciate you man, Thank you, Steve.

Speaker 4 (01:53:00):
I might have told you and we'll do it coming
up next.

Speaker 2 (01:53:03):
Like I actually had a conversation with someone and you'll
I might have talked to you about this before, but
it's all a matter of perspective and there.

Speaker 4 (01:53:12):
This happened at the NFL Draft not too long ago.

Speaker 2 (01:53:16):
We can get into that coming up next with h
with a from Salam I'm Mark Wheeler ty Rack dot
Com Studios of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (01:53:27):
You're gonna rapper, You're gonna update the people.

Speaker 5 (01:53:30):
Oh my god, this game is unbelievable. You got to
update the people. This game is unbelievable. As he gets
the UH drives down the field a beautiful, beautiful pass
UH for a touchdown. S he's up twenty to seventeen
right now with five minutes, twenty three seconds left, it's

(01:53:52):
second and seven UH and lsu is driving.

Speaker 2 (01:53:56):
Okay, that's so good. If you've got DirecTV yeah, by
coming up on the five minute mark, sc now in
front twenty to seventeen. I also want to call attention
to a Twitter poll that I just put up. I
was very inspired by the conversation we just had aphram

(01:54:17):
very inspired and by the way, we're in the tyreck
dot Com studios, I wrote, and I tagged Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (01:54:24):
So if you'll want to retweet.

Speaker 2 (01:54:25):
This and get it, get it going, we'll have some
fun because I put it up for twenty hours, so
till tomorrow at like whatever, you know, three or four
in the afternoon Pacific time. I said, help us settle
a conversation. What kind of person are you? When it
comes to money? Thagala called a penalty on himself, even
though the tour couldn't verify it. The penalty ended up

(01:54:47):
costing him five million, but he's still made seven million.

Speaker 4 (01:54:51):
So what do you focus on?

Speaker 2 (01:54:54):
Thagala lost five million or Thagala made seven million.

Speaker 4 (01:54:59):
We're only ten votes in and and and we got
five votes on each side.

Speaker 3 (01:55:04):
That's great.

Speaker 5 (01:55:05):
Split down the middle, speaking down down the middle, you
in stride receiver running a shallow cross, catches it in stride,
takes it all the way down into sc territory.

Speaker 3 (01:55:21):
Nope, not yet. Right outside the red zone.

Speaker 4 (01:55:24):
Well, I said, high red zone, high red zone. Yeah, yeah,
inside the thirty right.

Speaker 5 (01:55:27):
Inside the thirty yup thirty eight yard line. All right,
excuse me twenty eight yard line.

Speaker 4 (01:55:33):
Yep, okay, oh you got.

Speaker 3 (01:55:35):
You got your little figurines going.

Speaker 2 (01:55:37):
I mean, I see, yeah, I can see my little drawing.
That's telling me that. I'm like, you're like watching the
game and I'm in here with like little figurines moving
them around the table, like pretending that I'm playing football.

Speaker 5 (01:55:52):
You know what I was thinking just watching this game
and hearing the story of these two quarterbacks. Both of
these teams had high draft pick quarterbacks right first round,
so they weren't in the national championship race. So both
of the quarterbacks opted out and allowed both of these
starters now to play in the bowl game, so they

(01:56:15):
got exposure, you know, at that at the end of
the season at the highest level in terms of point
in terms of the bowl game. Both of them won
their bowl game for their respective teams, and so it
just got me thinking, I'm like, wow, that's we I
was on the other end of it. I'm like, man,
if you got you know, stick with it and then

(01:56:36):
you finish out the season with your teammates. But it's
almost it's actually a better thing if you're not competing
for a national Now everybody's competing for a national championship.
But if you're not competing for a national championship and
one of your quarterbacks is projected to be a top
five pick and he opts out, it's the best thing

(01:56:57):
that can happen for you and for the point for
the upcoming year. Like I was just like, because both
of these quarterbacks are clicking right now, I mean they're
on fire.

Speaker 2 (01:57:07):
LSU into the red zone right now, actually as they
threatened with a few minutes to go down by three.

Speaker 3 (01:57:12):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:57:12):
That's an interesting point. And I do think it's one
of those things that offends people. Maybe now years from now,
it won't.

Speaker 4 (01:57:20):
It just won't.

Speaker 2 (01:57:22):
I'm trying to remember, was it the tight end for
Michigan Jake and but is he the one who is
a big time prospect and he decided no, I'm gonna
beat that for my team. I'm gonna go play in
my bowl game. And the young man towards a cl Yep, how's.

Speaker 4 (01:57:39):
His NFL career going? Haven't heard from him? So, Like,
I can't stand it.

Speaker 2 (01:57:47):
When people get on the kids for going to play
in a meaningless bowl game in front of twelve people,
you know, in the middle of nowhere, and they got
an NFL career, waiting for way too much on the line,
way too much on the line. I'm with you, by

(01:58:08):
the way, the story I was gonna bring up, I'm
sure I brought it up to you before.

Speaker 4 (01:58:13):
Who's Who's my man?

Speaker 2 (01:58:14):
The left tackle in the draft with the gas mask
video that came out right before he's.

Speaker 4 (01:58:20):
Gonna get.

Speaker 7 (01:58:22):
From Laramie Tonsel, guys.

Speaker 4 (01:58:24):
Larimie Tounzell, Thank you, Larimie Tonsel.

Speaker 2 (01:58:28):
That's the one where I'm sitting there with a friend
and I'm freaking out because Laramie's flying down the draft
board and my friend's like, not a huge football fan,
and he's like, what what, why.

Speaker 4 (01:58:39):
Are what's the big deal.

Speaker 2 (01:58:41):
I'm like, Oh, it's gonna be the second pick of
the draft. And now he's falling out of the top
ten and and and oh my gosh, he ended up
going thirteenth. And he goes, so, what what's he gonna
get for going thirteenth. I'm like, I don't know, like
twenty twenty something million dollars. My friend, it goes He's
gonna be fine, and for God is gonna be fine? Yeah,

(01:59:07):
Forgot's gonna be fine.

Speaker 4 (01:59:08):
He gonna be he gonna be fine.

Speaker 3 (01:59:10):
Yeah, but he told them himself when he.

Speaker 4 (01:59:12):
Didn't have to, so that's a good man.

Speaker 5 (01:59:16):
Yeah, but we still don't know if he did anything wrong. Man,
that's he he doesn't, he does, He's not sure.

Speaker 4 (01:59:23):
He's that's pretty sure, not sure. He's pretty sure.

Speaker 3 (01:59:26):
Five million dollars, you better be sure.

Speaker 2 (01:59:29):
I'm like ninety nine percent sure that I'm gonna be
here for the show next week. Pretty sure, Pretty sure.
Speaking of that, I'm pretty sure.

Speaker 3 (01:59:41):
Yes, it's gonna be us. Of course, it's gonna be us,
gonna be us the whole season.

Speaker 4 (01:59:45):
Did you want to did you want to like announce that.

Speaker 5 (01:59:47):
No, I'm just saying because you know, I have rotate,
I have a bad Saturday sending when football starts.

Speaker 3 (01:59:51):
But it will be us.

Speaker 5 (01:59:52):
We'll be locked into this spot the entire season. And
I'm excited about him, man, I love. I am thrilled
about it, coming in watching Sunday Night football, all downloading
everybody on what happened earlier in the day.

Speaker 3 (02:00:04):
So I'm excited about it, and I look forward to
her brother to my man, I.

Speaker 2 (02:00:09):
Could not be more excited about it for two reasons.
One You're my guy, and two it's the best slot
during the NFL. Like, the only day that it stinks
is when the Niners play on Sunday Night Football, But
other than that, it's the best slot because we're going
to talk about all of it and we cannot wait
to see you next week.
