(00:21):
Let me tell you Somethingboddy. I was down in Phoenix
all Monday through Friday this week waste management open was
going crazy. But Tuesday night, as Kyle, I mean, Wednesday night,
we heard a ripple in the party that I was
at all of a sudden. It was probably too late
for the East coasters, but on the West Coast we
were up all of a sudden. It's like hey, hey,
(00:42):
a bunch of hey people elbowing each other, passing their
phone around saying wait, wait, wait what. The Phoenix Suns
training for Kevin Durant there was. It's a busy time
down there in the Valley of the Sun as get
ready for the Super Bowl. The Chiefs in the Eagle
Super Bowl fifty seven, which will be played in Glendale,
say what, it was going nuts down there in Sky
(01:05):
Harbor as it should have been. What's going on everybody
out there? Fox Sports? READYO listening to Lamb man v
J on the mike right now, My man, Martin White's batman.
You're in the jobs man, how was the Arizona Man spirit?
To me? Man? How did you do you enjoy yourself?
I saw I used took a picture with Charles Woodson.
Props to you on that. That's my favorite other than
Dan Marino. He's my favorite football player of all times.
So I saw that and I thought that was pretty
dope for you. Man, How was it? It was awesome?
(01:26):
It was awesome. It was a one of those career
affirming moments that I'm sitting there, I got the opportunity
to do. Your career has already been affirmed. You know that. Well,
I'll tell you what. It feels a lot different when
you're sitting there and all that sudden you're sitting there
and you're like, wait a minute, that's Joe Montana. Wait
a minute, that's Dak Prescott. Wait that's Christian McCaffrey. Wait
that's George Kettle. I actually was telling the story behind
(01:48):
I'll tell you this right here. I bumped into J. J.
Watt physically actually bumped into JJ pat as he was
talking to somebody just about just about four stumbles back
before I was able to re anchor my feet and
apologize for bumping into the man. I don't even think
you're trying to start a fight. Man, you're bumping into
you trying to start a fight. No, So the way
it was, I was trying to go back from like
(02:09):
the the main radio row area's kind of like the
offset where if you had a credential you can go
get like a drink or you know, like a bagel
or whatever. There's a curtain there, and I kind of
shorted the curtain right, didn't go open the curtain all
the way. I kind of like pushed through while I
was on my phone and J. J. Watt was about
two feet like you're supposed to walk through like that.
(02:30):
I was. It was on me all the way and
anybody who saw it. I'm probably in the back of
some Pro Football Talk live shot of just me stumbling
as I'm trying to get my get my bearings back.
But J J. Watt confirmed, big guy, Yeah, Yeah, you
just walked through the curt like you supposed like anybody
on the other side of this, you're trouble. I'm I'm
Martin White's I'm walking through this. Curt oh wow, seven
(02:51):
ft eight j J wat Hey, sorry, excuse me, sir,
but yeah, man, good, I'm glad you had a good time. Man.
I followed it everything that was out there going on
this week. And speaking of Joe Martana saw him on
the cup. I thought that was really cool. Rob was
Rob was very thirsty to get off his goat versus
loads uh quote to him and he got a good
chuckle out of Joe Montet after it happened. Rob's like, Martin, Martin,
I know, I know what I do when I saw
(03:12):
that quote, because I know Rob right we're all the
three of us along with Chris, we're all personal friends,
but not just colleague, the four of us. We're intertwining
this business man. So I knew when I saw it goes.
I know Rob right now is on cloud nine that
he got a chance. He had his hand on his
shoulder when he said it, like, hey, hey here, I
got one. I got one for you, Joe. But yeah, man,
but anyway, wow, Kevin Durant, goodness, gracious, But you know what,
(03:35):
though he asked for a trademark and in June, so
you had to think that this was coming. You said
last week that if you were them, when we were
talking about Kyrie demanding the trade before the deadline, you
just blow it all up. You're like, listen at this point,
Oh my god, did they blow it all up? And
I thought they got some good stuff in return, And
we don't know what picks are gonna be and whether
(03:56):
they can move those picks in the future. I'm not
a guy that goes, oh, a free agent will never
want to go there again. I'm not. I'm not that dude.
I think that's I think that's Internet Twitter talk that
people have just adjusted to him. In most sheep just
followed her. It's still thank you, It's still Brooklyn. They
still got depockets of Still New York is still a
big market, the second biggest market behind Los Angeles where
we are, So they'll be fine. I believe in the future,
(04:19):
but I did. I do stand by my words in June.
If I said you trade these two guys, you do
set yourself back from legitimately pushing for a championship for
eight to ten years, because both of those guys are
just that good and the fact that Phoenix didn't have
to give up eight that was the thing I thought
they would definitely have to give up because remember they
were skinnish on giving him the Max dial is a
(04:40):
free agent last year and signing him he was flirting
with Detroit. Detroit made a big move which now might
looks like it might be rebutted. But Man trade deadline,
I tell you this, the trade of deadline. The NBA
is normally very boring in free agency is what we
look to with the NBA right Christmas Day, the Finals,
the playoff, and free agency. Those are the three or
four biggest things for the NBA. But this trade deadline,
(05:01):
man might have been the biggest trade deadline that I've
ever seen. I mean, the Lakers, they brought in five
new guys, and we'll get into them a little later,
whether you know, we think that will work or not,
but five new guys, you just don't see that at
the trade deadline in these types of moves and names
being made. And then you have the buy out market,
so there's still some players out there that can still
(05:23):
be bought out and and still join so continued team.
So I don't think it's done but yeah, like you said, man,
just wow, like wow. I mean, immediately the next possible
thought was, all right, wait a minute, lucab dongeons with
two games away from the Western Conference finals last year
by himself. Now he's got Kyrie, and then, uh, you know,
swap Kyrie for Jalen Brunson, right, if you want to
(05:44):
do it that way, if you want to do the
math on it like that, all right, And then we
have the Phoenix Suns, who have been you know, they've
been one of the better teams in the Western Conference,
had a couple of finals appearances, a final appearance Pip
Paul got hurt obviously, So now it's like, wait a minute,
am I signing up for a Phoenix Dallas Western Conference Final?
Please kad verse Kyrie into the Katie Kyrie signed me.
(06:06):
But the question VJ making this move for Phoenix? Do
you think that this puts them into a I think
it's probably. I think prior to with Phoenix maybe could
have won the title. Does this move to get them
to Phoenix can definitely win a title? Now? I don't
think this year. And the reason why is this, even
though I love this move, and because of the star
power that you now add to Phoenix and Kevin Durant's
(06:28):
name alone, Kevin Durant doesn't get banged on. In my opinion,
he's my guy. People know that I'm from the d
n V. I saw the kids play when he was
fifteen years old in a U and then Montrose Christian
Academy in Maryland. So I've been watching Kevin Durant basically
his basketball career. He didn't get banged on enough for
how many games he does miss. Though he does get
banged up, he does have injuries. He's out now, so
(06:49):
I don't know if they're primed to win it this year.
I thought this was more of a move for the
next two seasons for Phoenix because I do believe at
some point one of those other guys are gonna go,
whether it be a And or whether it be Chris Paul,
And they might try to move one of those guys
probably next year. Some type of traders they feel like,
say they get eliminated early this year, Well, they don't
have the chemistry. I get it. But Durant still on
(07:10):
the contract for three years, so it isn't like it's
a rental, like this is gonna be your new centerpiece.
And we're gonna compete in the Western, compete for championships.
But it does take time. Durant's got to stay on
the floor, which he hasn't been over the last three
or four years. He missed the whole season three years ago.
You know what I'm saying off the Achilles. So I
don't think they win it this year. I think it's
(07:30):
a compelling story. I think he's good enough to bring
the firepower in April and May and possibly in June
to get to the conference finals against maybe a Denver,
maybe a Dallas. But as far as then winning it,
I just don't think you could just put guys on
the team. And it's shown you can't just put guys
on the team and then they go win it. Unless
it was Durant joined in the Warriors, which had already
won the championship. You know what I'm saying. So well,
(07:50):
and even that wasn't a mid season acquisition exactly, training camp,
you went through eighty two games and then you know,
you had the whole summer together. We're looking at it now.
The next record is thirty three and twenty two. That's
fifty five games played. This season is almost over. We
look at the trade deadline is like a halfway point.
It's not. It's not not there's less than there's only
(08:10):
a quarter left of this thing for the Suns to
figure out the chemistry that is likely gonna be needed.
What I find interesting about this match, about this uh,
the the building of the roster for Phoenix right now.
You've seen Chris Paul's teams perennially have had a ceiling
on them, and part because of the way that Chris
(08:31):
Paul plays now hawl of Famer, no doubt about it,
but ultimately demands the ball and to have the ball
and gonna set things up. And we see how in
the postseason sometimes that gets in the way. Now, the
other thing that the Phoenix Suns, that they have one
are the one of the most important things to have
in the postseason, and that's somebody who can get their
own shot. And you've got they got two of them,
and Devin Booker and Kevin Durant too. Especially everybody talks
(08:54):
about threes and layups playoffs. Watch that mid race the
number one mid race team in the league right now. Yeah, absolutely,
And so I look at a team like maybe like
a Denver who would be one of the ones in
competition with them. I don't know how I like Yoke
out there trying to stick in front of Devin Booker
and Kevin Durant off switches, right, That's that's so. But
at the end of the day, everybody's true to say,
(09:16):
as long as they stay healthy. But this one in particular,
because we see Chris Paul, you know, you look at you,
watch you move the calendar. Three just waits about them
for that hamstring, right, you know what I'm saying. So,
and I'm not wishing that on nobody. The hand of thumb,
Chris Paul's had it all to to your Denver point.
On the flip side, I I could debate though, Yeah,
(09:38):
you might not want to see Yokis trying to stay
in front of those guys. But when you look at
what Phoenix did do, and even deeper into the trade,
they gave up two really good wing and two really
good perimeters shooters to Michael Bridges has been a part
of Phoenix's rotation and success over the last since he's
been there. Not only that, he was also runner up
(09:58):
Defensive Player of the Year. So you're losing that, You're
losing that type of player that type of defense, that
type of shooting ability between him in between cam My
fellow Tar Hill brothers. So I just think that now
if your Phoenix, do you want to try to defend
Yokis with yo kids running point forward and the way
he passes and the things that heat so well that
he does so well on a perimeter, giving up defense,
(10:20):
Phoenix doesn't have a lot of death. This reminds me
of what the Nets looked like two years ago, the
year that uh that Durant stepped on the line, his
toe was on the line. The year that the the
year that the Bucks wanted they had a stack like
top three four guys or in the court. But what
people criticize them, and it showed their bitch was so
light and in the n B A, I don't care
(10:43):
who your starters are, you have to have a bitch
in the postseason or you have zero shot or let
you have Lebron who could just score forty and ten
and get you to the finals. But later the bench,
the bench has got to show up. The key is
you gotta have three players that can step in with
your starting five, right if you if one of you,
if you gotta have a problem. Man preferably one at
(11:05):
one of the guard spot, one of the spot in
one big one big right that could step in with
the other four guys that are normally a part of
your starting five. Other three guys would only be a
part of your starting five because nobody's running full stale.
You know, nobody's running ten man rotations in the playoffs
unless your Doc rivers, right. So like most of the
how that's turned out for Doc Rivers, But you know
what I'm saying, they're gonna tighten up that, they'll tighten
(11:25):
up the rotation. So for me, for Phoenix, the key
is he getting through this healthy, this stretch healthy, getting
Kevin Kevin Durant back healthy in general, and then being
able to maintain in the playoffs. And that's really what
it's going to be about for this Phoenix Suns team,
whether or not they know it's about for them, even
even going forward on Katie's contracts, they've gotta be a
top four or five seeds, you know what I'm saying.
(11:47):
But that's that's really what in the regular season, that's
what ends up has to happen. But they're not gonna
be one the seventy two and ten type you know,
whenever these ridiculous seventy three and nine like the Warrior,
they're not. That's not happening here, not with this team.
But I want to make early away, too early prediction
for the Phoenix Suns and the Portland Trailblazers next season
or this offseason. Chris Paul is what thirty eight years old?
(12:09):
Thirty seven, thirty years old, He's missed time. He's not
the same guy. If I'm Phoenix, I'm calling Portland and
I'm saying, if I could package Chris Paul and maybe
whatever else you might want from here and and try
to kick the tires on if Dame, can you now
get out of there? Brother? We know you're loyal, We
know you want to stick with the We know you
come from what you come from, bra We know what
you're saying. But now it's time for you to go
(12:31):
get a ring. And I would not be surprised that
if teams like the Lakers, uh, if Kyrie leaves Dallas,
a team like Dallas, somebody is going to attempt to
go after Dame Little. I think this would be the
perfect spot. And I'm gonna go OU don't know him
and say Phoenix is gonna be one of those teams
we're gonna hear that they're gonna think about trying to
move away from Christmas I just mentioned. I think some
one of those pieces else has gotta go. You got Booker,
(12:52):
and you got Durant, and I think that's solid. But
I think either Paul or and It's gonna have to
be replaced for you to be able to get some
other pieces in on your big and maybe another star
power guard that can just go get you forty or fifty.
And that's a guy like Dame lilyar So to answer
your question, just to use your word. Ultimately, I don't
think they win it this year because I just don't
think they have enough time to jel as a team
(13:15):
and and and get this thing and get this thing
to a championship level. I think the second round Conference championship, sure,
but all it tastes the rant to have another Ancle
or Calf or something. Man. Ever since that Achilles, he
just hasn't been the same player. Devin Booker said it
a few years ago quote, I'd like to build a
super team. I'd like the super team to come to me. Well, well,
(13:35):
Devin Booker, this ain't change address did not change. And
this is about as close as you're gonna get two
said superteam books. So good luck, Champ, wish you the best,
all right. Martin and VJ is brought to you by

Baby Mama's Mama's It took third. It took like eleven
year old Martin a second to understand Baby's Mama's Mama's
man Grandmother's Martin and b They come with the align
from the tirect dot com studios. Lebron James broke the
NBA all time scoring record. I'll tell you what the
NBA did not give a damn that the Super Bowl
was on Sunday at all. They were supposed to do
(14:41):
this all last week. Do it all last week when
we got the Pro Bowl games on Sunday to preview,
so we can give you the commenter of time to
do this. But Lebron breaks the scoring record VJ. To me,
this is one of those moments that everybody will take
Lebron and his career retrospective right, instead of going who's
the goat and all that in the third To me,
(15:03):
when I saw him hit the shot that to to
break the scoring record, I went back to watch the
first time I saw Lebron James play on ESPN two
when he's playing for St Vits of St. Mary's against Okill,
and I thought again, was that, well, that's that's that
is a ticket stuff to hold onto. Well, shout out
to my big brother Denis Marshall for getting me there.
But I'd say I don't think that there has been
(15:25):
an athlete to have more expectations piled onto him by
himself media whoever. The way, he's the one with King
tattoo on his back, right, So like wherever it all
came from to be able to even come close right,
the idea that we talked about Lebron as a top
three player, no doubt, right, top five player, no doubt
(15:48):
after his career. To me, it's just it was an
ultimate validation moment, even if, all right, maybe he didn't
win all the finals that you wanted him to, but ultimately,
at the end of the day, it's very, very hard
to discredit the longevity and the dominance just on an
individual level from Lebron James over the last twenty some years.
(16:08):
And that was what I took away when I saw
that happen. You know what's really cool about being in
this industry, man, and growing in this industry, is their
days that I can displace myself from fan whether I
like a person or not, or I'm a fan of
a team or not a fan of a player or not.
And that was the other night, and watching him hit
the shot. Now, now we all know Lebron's gonna have
(16:28):
the dramatics and stuff. That's just that's just who he is.
And at this point, if that's something that you just
dislike about the guy, just is what it is. Move
on to something else that's old. But to watch him
hit the shot on the fall away fade away jump
and just kind of throw his hands up in the air.
The fan of sport in me, the fan of accomplishment
in me, of anybody in life. Bro, Like, I congratulated
(16:49):
you going to radio road Like that's big dog, that's
a good thing for you in your career. And I
always leave with love first. I always leave with love first. Yeah,
I got something hate in me with sports and stuff too,
like we all do. But I'm always lead with love first.
And I I thought, I like you, man, this has
been a long journey for this guy, this guy who's
had a lot held on him. And like you said,
(17:09):
whether whatever the reason is, whether it's him asking for
it or him calling himself to go or people putting
it on him, or sports illustrator or social media or
the Internet or whatever the case would be. Because I
believe that if we had a social media and the
Internet with Jordan was coming out, it had been exactly,
it had been the same, and it would have been
the same. But we he didn't have that, so we
didn't have the the expectations that everybody same by game,
(17:32):
shot by shot, by dribble by dribble, like in football
is by throw by throw for a quarterback. He can
have twin completions, but someone will post the twin completion
all yeah, look at these bad passes. So but what
I did is, like you man, I went all the
way back in my head. So when I first saw
that guy, and I remember my big brother Dennis looking
at me and going, that's gonna be like the next Kobe,
next Jordan guy. And now was a Kobe got hardcore
(17:54):
man still to this day. And I remember looking at
him going air right. Whatever I did, I was like, yeah, right, whatever,
And then the game start showing up on ESPN, and
then he's dunking between his legs. He's got the baggy
golden green. Remember those old jerseys with the cut off
sleeve version, and they were all big and back. One
of my favorite things about Lebron as a topic, right,
just if you look at Lebron on the timeline, Yeah yeah, yeah,
(18:14):
eighteen year old. Obviously most of us would not get
caught dead and wearing what we were wearing an eighteen now.
But the difference between eighteen and nineteen and old Ron
was wearing first on the basketball courts, It's amazing. It's amazing,
and it shows you how time has passed, and time
has changed, and it faster than it ever has, Like
(18:35):
like styles changed every two years. Now, you can't keep
up with it. Like I'm just getting into joggers. These
things have been out for a decade. I'm just getting
it changes too faster me. But I go back and
I look at all those times, and I look at
the the shortcomings of his career and how he's battled back.
And I'm a guy that always believes in the three seeds,
staying cool, common collective man, and I believe he's done
that and and kept the right people around him, and
(18:57):
he should be applauded for that, because he could have
gotten trouble, he could have went the it way. So
I thought it was a great moment. I thought it
was a great moment for him, for his family, and
just for the sport of basketball, because now we have
something new. Okay, Kareem's not the all time leaders score anymore.
It is now Lebron James. And that's just what it is.
Those are just the facts. So I don't mind seeing
records broken and stuff. So I I kind of just
(19:18):
went back in my head. Man, it just all the years,
even me trash talking him and stuff like yeah tonight,
and I tweeted like several things. Congratulations that your your longevity,
the way you've done it man, and kepting your your
queen with you from high school, the way you present yourself. Bro.
I can I can salute all that stuff, man, And
that's what I take from it. And that's what I did.
That's what I'll take and that's what I'll take away
from it. Yeah, that was that was strongly my take.
(19:40):
Now that we've got the accletes out the way, Hi,
you make Anthony David's not even clapping for your boy, nothing, nothing.
Just something people wanna something people want to add. Okay,
So now that we got all through the pats on
the back, don't ask me about that. What was with
stopping the damn game? Not that long a you've they
saw your friends they were gonna do prior to the
(20:03):
moment occurring, they said they were going to stop the
game unless it was like what there certain sipulations like
under two minutes like that for him to break it
at the time that he did was essentially was almost
at the quarterbreak anyway. It was like eight seconds. It
was almost at the quarter break anyway. I really did
not have a problem with the whole stoppage of the game.
It was went too long, Bro, You could do all
(20:24):
of that. You could stop the game, give him the balls,
have him hold the ball up, circle around, look at everybody,
wave like, go down on the ground. Been there were
like he did, take a bunch of deep breaths like
he just random are thought you could do it. You
could still do all of that, but the stop white kids, friends,
rappers actors like oh, and then a speech and then
(20:46):
the Adam Silver's there like that to me should have
been after the game that you do that. After the game,
you don't stop it. I know it's gonna be the quarterbreak,
but you don't stop the game for twenty five minutes
in the middle of the game, and then you don't
let Caps speak. That was something because it came out there,
so it was the game too long. It was a
break too long or Kareem have also talked both. If
(21:09):
you're gonna stop it that long, do you gotta let
Caps say something? You gotta let you just don't have
him you know how he just handed him the ball.
You gotta have Caps say something if you're gonna stop
the game that long. I thought that was a little weird.
And then also the next game they had a whole
pre game celebration with James Worthy speaking on the court
and all that stuff, and it's like, dog, then y'all
just do this. Y'all just did this two nights ago.
(21:31):
But that that that it was a little weird. The
pre game, the pre game one to me was like,
all right, okay, hold on, he did this last you
did did Yeah, so I get I can see one
side or the other. Everybody. Lets somebody make up their minds.
But ultimately the only reason why people were watching the
game between the twelfth best and the thirteenth best team
in the Western Conference on Tuesday night was to watch
(21:51):
that happen. So giving me all of it, you know,
they give me. I've told you before, and I said this,
we're watching that. We're watching the Laker game in here
last Saturday, and Lebron like went through the lane and
had like a this monster dunk and then he you know,
his classic Lebron you know, posed me mugget the crowd.
What came out of my mouth? I said, I would
like that guy if he just didn't do so much
lane stuff that was unorgan And I said that, and
(22:12):
I've admitted that before. I would actually like him if
he just didn't do so much unorganic lane stuff that
I view was like, come on, bro, like come on
dog passive aggressive that we can't be friends. I don't
like a passive aggressive people. You got something to say, say,
you're gonna gonna do something, do it. Don't don't go
around the bush about it. Just come right at me
and did we cool when you're dancing. I don't know.
I don't know what your your motives are. I don't
(22:33):
know what you're doing. So that that that in a sense,
I don't I don't want to bang on the man.
I thought the suit was fresh. I thought he looked good.
I thought Lebron represents himself well man. But I just
thought that the halftime, I mean, it's sorry to stop
it to the game was half an hour. I think
the I think the pregame thing was probably a bone
to the fans that spent thousands of dollars to get
tickets to that game. That's probably too. That's fine. I
(22:55):
don't have I don't have a beef with that, but
those are still the same fans that saw everything and it.
Once again, I mean to both point, Like I know
Shandon Sharp was there when he broke the record and
said he would have spent the night Lebron. Lebron is
like he's very like tacky at times, right like you
were just saying. DJ. I fully expected him to wait
until Thursday to break the record where he would be
(23:16):
doing it against Kareem's old meat playing for Kareem's other team,
breaking Kareem's record. I totally thought he was going to
plan it out that way. Yeah, and you saw everybody
was at the game on jay Z's in town because
I saw him man when he when he came out
with the headband, I knew for a fat yeah, I
(23:38):
had lost my under thirty two and a half bat
for that night. Instantly, instantly I was like, yo, can
I get a refund please? And call a customers. Remember
he's miked up and he goes to his boy. He
goes to some which I thought it was a cool
I'm a dad of son, Okay, so I get it.
Should I get it to night? Should I break it?
And it's something's like yeah, go get hi, I go
get it, like I thought, like I saw, I was like, yeah,
he's getting it to night anyway, Lebron James All Time

(26:14):
I like to introduce a guest to the program today,
my friend Will Blackman's Super Bowl champion with the Giants
and uh obviously NFL cornerback and return specialist. Will. Thanks
for joining the show, my friend you you forgot to say,
gracious host, gracious host, my gracious co host on my
podcast Limit Pepper, I got you. Oh. I was gonna
(26:38):
get into that in just a minute talking to ask
you about the actual game. But you know what beat
that because I you invited me to a party at VIJA.
Let me tell you something. This thing was that at
Matching four stories high had a close asual open bar
wine I mean wine tasting sections everywhere. Will Blackman's big
into the wine business. Charles Woodson was there, Shannon Sharp
(27:00):
is there, Warren Moon was there and I'm just over there,
like wow, I had no idea what I was walking
myself into. I got on Jay's and if I had
known something, I would have packed some shop. But no,
So tell me, tell me how you got involved with
that with that installation there. Yeah, so it's called it's
called Corner and Kickoff and the personal runs Christie Theile.
(27:21):
She's also the hospitality UH coordinator from my company, the
Wine a VP. So I partnered. I became a partner
for that event every year the Super Bowl. Shaw was
with him. His company is a partner of Malshra Paul
his company is a partner as well. So, yeah, you
know when you said you needed something, I said, I
got you. It took two minutes and boom there you go.
Hey listen, I know, I know way it goes down.
(27:42):
You know it's all good. Look VJ. Look, first, the
uber couldn't even take me all the way to the top. Okay,
I had to get halfway up there. So you didn't
walk in you no, no, no, no, no, you got it.
That's where you got it wrong. They had golf cars
waiting to take us up to the top of alright,
to take us up to the top, and I mean
I was like, Yo, we are rarefied air around here,
(28:02):
but we'll super Bowl fifty seven is about to kick
off tomorrow, Chiefs and the Eagles. What are your first
thoughts on the Super Bowl? My first thoughts are, I'm
super excited just for this matchup alone. We have two
of the best teams from the entire season. Um, two
teams that have been on a speed track to get
to this championship game. UM. I love the fact that
(28:26):
you know, the Chiefs, they don't know anything else besides
the conference championships and Super Bowls in the past like
five years. And that the Eagles put together the most
solid roster um that you can find any NFL. And
plus they have probably the most then school, calm collector
quarterback in the entire NFL jail Hurt. So yeah, I'm
(28:47):
my initial thoughts, I'm just excited for good I like
good football. There's been a lot of bad ball this year.
I like good football. Well, black Man vj Vernon Husky
here man with uh with Martin, just sitting here thinking
about all the great mall backs that I love to
enjoy in my life. I'll get your advice on a
good mall back later later before we let you go.
I want to ask you a question, man, because I
always wondered this as just a former football player myself.
(29:09):
We're we're a little over twenty four hours from the game,
but Saturday, when you were going into that game, tell
me twenty four hours it it hits about six pm
Eastern time, twenty four hours before the game. What is
will black men thing? What is going through your mind?
What are you eating when you are you restled? What
are you doing to prepare for the biggest football game
of your life? Honestly, it's like you you did all
(29:32):
that the two weeks prior even the week of, and
then you just get into your routine. So you know,
my typical routine was, I go down for pregame mill
I get a big fast bowl of pasta. I'm may
get some chicken or steak that came with it. I
get a bottle of line, I review the film, and
I get ready for the game. So for me, I
(29:55):
just it's so it's so hard to make everything normal
because you are in a foreigner ironman. There's a lot
of things going on in terms of your media obligations,
what have you. But you have to try your best
to just keep it simple, and I think number one
coach Kauford did a great job of doing so. And
then he gave one hell of a pregame speech to
(30:15):
night before and yeah, we just we just went to bed.
We were ready to go. So well, I want to
ask you, and you're a defensive guy. Generally, the defenses
in this game are not necessarily talked about as much.
We've got the two m v P favorites right now,
Hurts and My Homes going against each other, and that's
been a lot of the focus of the conversation. Defensively,
on the Kansas City side, you have some very young
(30:38):
defensive backs making big plays. And conversely for the Eagles,
Bradberry and Slay two veterans back there and at the
cornerback posicians. Who has the edge there? Um, you know
what I'm gonna say, just Bradberry and Slay because the good,
the great thing about that secondary in Philadelphia is that
(31:00):
they are extremely disciplined, you know, and you watched film
all year. They're always on the right spot, they're always communicating,
and they have a lot of football under the belts.
You know. The thing that's going for Kansas city is
that the young dudes are super confident. McDuffie waltson um
need all those guys are extremely confident. But I'm gonna
(31:21):
give a lot of credit to the coach bags for
being able to put them in position because he has
a ton of big game experience as a coordinator. Well,
I'll let you go on this one. Man, give me
a good mall back. Baby, I'm a mall back drinking.
You're a wine guy. Charles Woods is one of my
favorite football players all the time. I've been trying to
get my hands on his wine and I can't get something.
Give me a good mall back. Well that I can
relax to tomorrow. You should be able to get some
(31:43):
intercepts everywhere. All right, I'm gonna get me some intercept
and I got you. Yeah, but but you want but
you want container a louder container. She's from Argentina. Argentina.
Mall back is a business grade from Argentina that's the
known for us. Contained a lot of fatana. She's incredible.
She's a Harvard um. She's a Harvard graduate, a doctor
(32:05):
and ymaker. She's like, Wow, that's yeah, I got your brother.
Thank you man. All Right, Well, black Man. First of all,
thank you because that's the first time in my life
I ever walked on to a party and I said,
Martin White's plus four. All right, how I have in
the V I P section. Will you don't even you
(32:25):
don't even need girls for collateral. They just let you
in exactly I said, I said, Will Blackman, the red
she's parted. They let me watch right in there. Will,
Thanks for having Thanks for joining us on Fox Sports Radio.

Martin and VJ. Coming to your lit from the tire
Rack dot com studios. You just mentioned. Look at this
Brooklyn Nets team. Yeah up here lead the seventies eight
right now and the the third quarters, the third quarters
winding down. Uh. Jack Vaughan looks, uh, he's got drawn
something up. He's got to figure it out. Yeah. Well,
(33:10):
you know Doc Rivers with his ten man rotations. It's
not the postseason quite yet, but yeah, you do know,
Philly is gonna run out as many people as they
possibly can. Uh, let's get into the super Bowl here
real quick. So I think that the defensive matchup is
not one that has been discussed quite as much, especially
when you have to I mean, uh, superstars at quarterback too.
(33:35):
I mean again, we're the MVP favorites for most of
the season between Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes
obviously ended up winning it on in the NFL Honors.
We'll get to that in just a moment as well.
But the uh, the defensive matchups, I think you're interesting
here because you have the Eagles, who have the most
sacks of any team, and then the Chiefs with Frank Clark, who,
(33:57):
if he didn't I believe has the post he's a
sacker record if he's not about to get it, like
he's one or two off for the post stack record.
And Chris Jones we saw completely cause hell uh and
in the ANTE championship game. Yeah, like he always does
defense with championships. And I've I've said this so you
know long and people say all the time, offense sales
tickets and sells memorabilia and concessions and hot dogs and
(34:21):
foam fingers and all that stuff. That's what offense does,
sells jerseys and T shirts. Defense put Lombardies in the
franchise lobby. You know what I'm saying. That is the defense,
and I think the Eagles have the better defense from
top to bottom. The Chiefs got some dogs, they got
some players. Chris Jones. I like Trip McDuffie. You know,
young kid, but he was really scrappy. He's a really
good corner, very physical, goes against the ball. He'll get
(34:43):
up in your face. From University of Washington here in
l A watch a lot of Pack twelve football. I've
seen the kid play. The kid is legit. But when
you look at filling and you look at the pressure
that they can put on you with their front fourth,
they can get to you with four And that's gonna
be interesting to see how Pat Mahomes adjusted that, especially
it with the ankle and some of the other players
that are gonna be out and will not be available
(35:04):
at his disposal. And if you want to talk about
the star quarterbacks, the reason why they're being talked about because,
like you said, they're the two front runners other than
preseason where it was Josh Allen pretty much the two
front runners all year long who was gonna win NFL
m v P ended up being Pat Mahomes. And you said,
we'll get into that a little later in the show
whether we agree with that or not. But this defense
that Philly puts out could just go get it, man,
(35:26):
and I think they will. And this could also mirror
what we saw two Super Bowls ago with the Chiefs
and the Bucks, where Patrick Mahomes was running for his
life for about three and a half quarters because the
defense was just the pressure was just getting to him
and he's got to take off and get out. You
got guys on the back and who could cover. You
got lickbackers that can get out in space and cover.
This Philly defense is not a fluke, man. They've been really,
(35:48):
really good, and I think they're the X factor and
probably the difference in this game in my opinion. Well,
I think ultimately it's this. The difference in the game
is going to come down to Hi. I'm kind of
saying the same thing you did, but just in a
slightly different way. If my Homes has the ball for
one to three in trouble, if my Homes has the
ball for one five. That chief's advantage. That that chief's
(36:09):
advantage if they're able to keep him up and keep
him move and and you know, I'm not concerned about
the ankle at this point in time. You know, I'm not.
I saw what he was able to do last week.
I think you know this week, plus you know there
is no there is no next week after that, So
he's gonna get all that game. You'll get every shot
in the world. And then there's I mean he signed
until literally two, so he's the long term injury. I
(36:32):
don't think he's I don't think it's a big turn.
And Patricks being the league, he'll still be on contract
right exactly. Yea, he might be babies mama's mamma. But
but I ultimately, when I think you got my homes
here in a situation where this offensive line for the
Kansas City I think is one of the places that
(36:54):
going back to that Super Bowl where they played Tampa
and he was running for his life, they said, look,
we're making organizational decisions here. We're gonna invest and draft
capital and running backs, offensive lineman and that's it. Off
we could find well, we'll find the ju ju the NBS. Well,
(37:15):
maybe we'll can bring to take this guy more, you
know what I'm saying, and and and try to get
him in the mix. But in general, tight end, offensive
line and quarterback is how we're gonna win football games.
And you see how the way they do it, they
come out in more twelve and thirteen personnel than you
would think for a team that has a guy with
the rifle like Patrick Homes detached to his right shoulder.
(37:37):
So and the move on from Tyreek Hill is something
that I think goes to show. You know, you can't
pay everybody obviously out of that all that conversation, but
it shows I think I think where Kansas City says
this is why they want to do it, and this
is how they want to win football games. Yeah, but
I also think that moving on from the Tyree Hill
they go catch up to him. Sooner or later. They
(37:57):
catch up to him this year. And you know that's
because Andy Reid is such a genius as far as
you know, drawn up plays and just diagram in office.
They're like, Okay, we're gonna go to the deep ball.
We'll just Deacon Duncan will hit short passes and we'll
you know, we'll make some place. Patrick's gonna make some
place and we'll find this Pachenko kid and we'll plug
him and running back and ill run like crazy with
the speed that he has. And he's a powerful kid.
Uh to be as small as he is, he isn't
(38:19):
a big back. He's a small what they would call
a small back, but he's still very powerful. So um,
I do think that the weapons are gonna have to
play above their their natural abilities tomorrow for the Kansas
City Chiefs. If I'm the Eagles, I'm putting two people
on Kelsey. Kelsey is not beating me tomorrow. If you
if I lose to Valdez, Scantling and sky More and
(38:40):
and if I lose to those guys, okay, then you
know they were just better than us. But I am
not losing to Kelsey. Fourteen fifteen catches, a hundred and
eleven hundred twenty yards and two toychesow in the in
the red zone. I'm taking penalties if I have to,
I'm taking hold of I'm taking penalties. I'm just not
letting this guy get off. So, like I said, I
(39:01):
just lean on defense in the game like this, I
think that the Eagles will have I'll have some type
of plan for the weapons, but the weapons not being
out and I think McCole Harman is out if I'm
not mistaken, So he's out. So there's a weapon gone to.
But he's he's been hurt from would say most of
the most of the rap of the season. He was hurt.
He came back, he came back in the Edgy Championship
game and reinjured. The injury that he had prior to
(39:22):
is a pelvish injury. So and I think the ankles fine.
I'm not worried about that. I don't think my homes
is gonna be limping around. I think you'll be fine
in two weeks. A lot of treatment. Like you said,
it's the last game. He's had every pill and shot
that there is available that he can get out there
and be himself. Coming up next, we'll get into more
Super Bowl talk. What exactly the Chiefs need to do

What were you just saying in a commercial break? Uh so,
I was saying a lot. Yeah, that's true. That's not
that I shouldn't have I should not have set you
up like that at the last day. You said it
(40:26):
was something about Jalen Hurts. Oh yeah, my man. I
need I need my man, Jalen. I need my man,
Jalen Hurts to go get this one for me tomorrow. Man.
Did you happen to see get this one? Man? Did
you happen to see When Jalen Hurts was asked by
Dave Damnitschek of the Extra Points podcast network, I should
say told more so, but he said, you know I
have to tell you. Man to man, Yeah, you saw
(40:48):
that that interaction, I just had to tell you, man
to man, I was one of the people who doubted you.
In the Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts said you weren't the
only one. And then Dave said, well, I have to
tell you. I apologize. I apologize, and jalen a response
to me was one of the funniest just regular just
so you can't phase me, joker. I retweeted that. I
retweeted that because I thought I thought it was classy
(41:10):
for the manner to admit that openly, because I just
wish more people would do that and stop doubling down
on just dumb ass opinions and and and and trying
to get clickbait going much rather people just say, look, man,
we were wrong on you, bro, Like we didn't think
you were second round pick. You so called lost your
job at Alabama and you had to transfer. No, he
transfer because he wants He didn't have to do anything.
He transferred because he wanted to. It wasn't really fairly
(41:30):
he lost his job there. In my opinion, I've always
been on this and what my it, what my I
didn't think it was fair he lost his job to injury.
You know what I'm saying, but you know I did
see that. But carries himself with so much class man,
and I just I I need this. I need this
narrative of black running quarterbacks. Can't you can't win with them.
You can't win the super Bowl with him. I need that,
you know, I need that to end tomorrow. So I
(41:50):
need Jalen to go do that for me. Well, the
thing I think it ended when my Homes did it.
I know that he's not He's not a runner in
the way of Jalen Hurts. However, you're not telling me that.
Patrick Mahomes. I mean, think about what in his last
in the Super Bowl that he won. The one of
the biggest prop at losses was because he decided to
take three super long knees was on his rushing yards.
(42:13):
Patrick Mahomes running the ball is a key part of
what the Chiefs do offensively. You're not gonna tell me
that's not gonna be a first down. He picks up
on third and five with his feet this week, but
he's not categorized. Are listed as a running quarterback Jalen Hurts,
Lamar Jackson, Cam Newton, those guys were lit, Mike Vick,
Those guys were listed in categorized as running quarterbacks and
(42:37):
you couldn't win a super Bowl with them. Donovan got
to one. Uh Cam got the one, and now Jalen's
in and you know running quarterback jok. Look look with
the Marko, the knock on Lamar is he can't stay
healthy because he's running. You're not gonna win with because
he's a running quarterback. It's not gonna last. And here's
Jalen Hurts, a running quarterback. They have to account for him.
(42:57):
He's not gonna you know, he's not scrambling. Know he's
he's reading Tomorrow. He's gonna read Chris Jones like you know,
you know you you know you neutralized Chris Jones tomorrow.
You do the same thing they did with the defensive
Player of the Year Bosa. Who want Defensive Player to
the Year. You don't block him, You read him, and
you let him decide what he's gonna do and you
react off that. That's why I say, uh, running quarterback.
(43:19):
I've never heard Mahomes classified as a running court We
should be classified. I mean, I mean because when we
think about to me, when you think when you're talking
about running quarterbacks quote unquote right that these are guys
I don't even feel like that really exists in the
league anymore. Like hear me out, there's plenty of guys
who are great with their legs, but you tell me
(43:40):
the guy who doesn't have a rifle attached as well,
Like you know what I'm like, You tell them so
like it's not like like like like we're running some
type of college offense where your quarterback legitimately is not
accurate past twenty yards. You know what I'm saying. All right,
that's not what we're doing here. But that's not Jalen Hurts,
that's not even Lamar Jackson. Like do think with you
(44:00):
could they be better accurate shore? But like you get
a guy like a j Brown, big body receiver, go up,
make contested catches, DeVante Smith go up, make contested catches.
Guess what you got a quarterback? You know what I'm saying.
If you if you wanted to go out there and
running with the Shawan Jackson and and uh and Devin DuVernay,
you know where you're gonna need to be. Putting it
right in between their numbers, then all everything shure. But
(44:20):
there's on how many guys can do that. How many
guys are doing that a consistent basis in this league?
Even Mike Vic never got the credit for his arm
talent and how accurate he became later in his career.
When he was young, he was really erratic. But you
also had to remember his best receiver was slightly overweight,
out of shape, slow tight end named Algae Crumpler was
(44:40):
his best offensive guy to throw to. It was really
him and work Done with the with the read option,
running play, you know, running style office with Ward done.
Was he went there coming from Tampa, you know, but
he never once he got the Philly. Once Mike got
the Philly, We're like, oh wow, hold up, Like Mike's
got a can, not only a cannon. He's putting this thing.
He's throwing limes to where you know, he's m VP candidate,
(45:03):
So we I just don't think they get enough credit.
I'm with you on that. I think Lamar can clean
up some mechanics. And Lamar Lamar's he's not a perfect throw,
I know, but he where he strikes me a lot
like Vince Young. It's it's it's it's a little off,
and you could clean these mechanics up. Now when quarterbacks
don't clean it up, then there's gonna be validity to
the knock that people put on their arm. But I'm
watching Jalen Hurts stalking ball this year and I'm like,
(45:25):
where are you got? What are you guys talking about?
This man is putting the ball where it needs to be.
And if another quarterback throws contested balls and the receiver
goes up and gets it, what do they say? He
put that ball in the only place that he could,
he knew where he knew his guy could go get
And that's that's the narrative for them. But friends like,
oh man, this guy had to go up and make
(45:45):
that play for him. Trust me, we we don't have
to read verball or that. We know this stuff's out there.
And that's why I I would like to see him
just put it into that. You can't win with the
running black quarterback tomorrow. I would like to see him
play well. I want to see him well. I want
to see my homes play well. Dude. You know what,
I want a good game. They want a good game.
Thank you won a good game, silly, mean football fan.
(46:06):
I'm rooting for a good game. Yeah, listen, I need
a great game. Bro, I need to be sitting there
taking my eighth shot eighteen hundred tequila and like, man, listen,
I can't see straight right now. But for what I
can't see, this is a damn football and this is
a super Bowl right here. This is why over a
hundred million people are tuned in right now watching this
full drunk all that stuff, drinking all that stuff. Baby,
(46:28):
let's go. That's what I want tomorrow. I'm with you, dog.
The University of Michigan basketball is in the middle of
an incredible meltdown. Steve just say, will have all of it,
especially the league that they've blown. But they haven't scored
the point like five minutes and down by one to
Indiana right now. See if Michigan can pull it out.
Disappointing team, a disappointing season in that harbor right now.
I was talking to Brian Finley. We're sitting out in
(46:48):
the cafe talking before I you know, we went on air,
and I told him, Jawan Howard better turn this around
real fast because it's not it's not going well. They're
fourteen and ten. They lose, they're gonna be fourteen eleven.
They don't make a tournament this year. And he's had
some questionable some questionable things happened since he's been there,
you know what I'm saying, Like he's been involved and
some things that have not looked good and a lot
(47:09):
of There was a one incident where people thought he
was gonna get fire. I thought he was gonna get fired,
Like you gotta fire and you can't. You can't push
and throw punches and like you can't as a head coach.
I'm sorry, dude, I like you when I'm supporting you,
but you can't have that. You're a leader of young men.
You can't have that thought he's gonna get fired. He
did in the game a second chance to just suspend it.
But if he doesn't turn this around Martin soon, bro,
this thing could get really ugly. Remember they were just
(47:31):
in final fours and playing for national championships. Dude, you
let there was an argument to have from the and
I would have been the one to make it. But
from like, uh what thousands and ten, Michigan had one
of the better college basketball programs out in terms of
March finishes. There's no doubt who was the best one
(47:53):
in the state of They go back to back final fours.
If I'm not mistaken play in the National Championship. Who's
the coach? I can't remember the guy's name the like,
Did he have been in the National Championship game? He didn't.
They should have won that game. You know what happened?
You know what happened. Kevin Ware breaks his leg in
the right he did. Kevin Ware did break Luke Hancock
(48:14):
goes from playing fifteen minutes to thirty five and goes nuts.
Spike Albreck had the game of his life in the
first half when Trey Burke got called Nash played here.
Trey Burke has called for three first half houls? What
are we doing right? And then the last or fourth
one on the block? It was that block is cleaned
to this day from Peyton Siva. And you know what
I said this at the time, being salty, sitting on
(48:36):
my couch as a Michigan fan, I said, you know
what's gonna really suck when this national title gets revoked
because Patino is cheating. It's just gonna act like nobody
ever did, no one ever played any of it and
show enough, show enough. Sure, But if Kevin Ware, I think,
if Kevin Ware doesn't have one of the most gruesome
sports injuries in like sports history. And I don't I
(48:59):
don't know if they win that game going forward, because
does he play as well as Luke Cancock did down
the stretch. Luke Hancock hadn't played as well a Luke
Plancock did that whole tournament. So I don't know. Yeah,
it was it was just it this program, Like I said,
it's just it's night and day from what it was
for about an eight year run to where they are
now and bringing back, you know, and fun of a
(49:20):
former player. And now it's gone final number eighteen Indiana
survives and and Harbor sixty one in Michigan now falls
to fourteen and eleven. And hey, three programs right now
with with former players coaching them that are in a
little trouble right now winning that Harbor since February sixteen.
(49:41):
I remember that games, the tipping at the buzzard. Yeah,
and also to while we had it, let's go ahead
and get props to UH to Indiana coach Woodson here
man who decided to go back to his alma mater
and take that job there. And I thought he was
gonna take an NBA job, but he decided to go
back home go back to Who's your land and uh
and get some things done there man and Britain program
back to relevancy because because I mean, I'm as like
(50:03):
Thomas Guy. Right. So I grew up my whole life
with Indiana being somebody, going back to guys like Calbert Cheney. Okay,
so I remember Indiana being somebody, and then they just
were dormant for so long, trying different coaches, different styles,
and some of these college programs, you gotta just stick
with what works. It's like in Carolina or Duke. You
hired Carolina guy, you hired Duke guy. You keep it going.
But those are those are the other two schools I
(50:24):
was gonna mention, along with Michigan that have some alumni
right now that there there's some there's some issues there
in Chapel Hill and in Durham. I think both those
teams are better than the eight and nine losses that
each of those teams sport right now. I watched them
both lose games they have not should have lost. Duke
beats Carolina at home and then goes to Miami and
(50:44):
get scraped down in Coral Gables, Uh, to a team
that I thought they were better than. I know Miami's ranked,
but I don't care about rankings. Rankings are to me,
that's for Vegas and a bunch of other stuff. I
don't think that holds any warter in my opinion. But yeah, man,
Michigan's gotta they gotta turn around, but to take the
loss to the against Indiana Hoosiers some postseason success if
they If he makes it, then you generally is not
getting bounced in the first round. The lead eight Sweet
(51:06):
sixteen but again sweet SIS team last year, the nineteen
and fifteen and eleven and nine in conference. But that's
enough college basketball talk because the big game is tomorrow,
the super Bowl, the one we've all been waiting to
say it again, the Big Game. Do the super Bowl?
The super Bowl? The super Bowl? Did you feel that?
(51:27):
You know? I thought super Bowl sounded probably so cool
in nineteen sixties, six sixty seven when they came up
with the name Are you the guy? Are you one
of those guys? Don't like? Because I'm hearing that a
lot lately, people don't like the name super Bowl anymore,
you know, I like, I didn't think about it until
they've changed the name of wild Card Week in a
super wild Card weekend, and now I was like, I
don't now now everything is super. Stop making things super? Okay,
(51:49):
So they give me this then and we'll talk about
the game, But just give me this real quick. If
you don't like super Bowl, what do you call it?
Then I don't have a great White's hole. They call
your cell phone. Go, we're letting you change the name
since we were listening to you on Martin and vij
on Fox Sports Radio on Saturday. You don't like it, fine,
we're gonna throw you a bone. What do you want
us to call it? NFL Championship sounds absolutely terrible? So
(52:12):
I just go with super I mean with the super Bowl.
You know, I'm not saying I dislike it at the moment,
but I do say once they made Super wild Card weekend,
it was like, wait, if everything is super than nothing?
I love I love super Bowl. I love super Bowl,
and I just like the way it's the super Bowl.
Two words. You gotta capitalize the s and to be
(52:32):
super Bowls not one. I hate when I watch people
spell it in one word. It's not one worst two.
How many people do you know? It's just they just
spelled it wrong. Just just grow down, Twitter, I see
super Bowl and one word where the locates be a
bunch of times like, dude, there's two words. But okay,
I'm I'm not the grammar police on Twitter. Yeah. Uh,
(52:53):
I screw up all the time and I don't care
about checking out. Just listen if you if you knew
what I meant, then keep scrawling. What if they don't?
They did? They do? People? People aren't that dumb. I'm
not gonna believe people are that stupid. You know what
I meant? If it's and but it's a m D.
You know it? Men and the end and the end
is right next to each other on the keyboard. Okay,
my fingers slipped. I'm typing fast. I mean, dude, you
(53:15):
know what I meant. You know, person, I'm not guys
you know see you no see the thing is because
you're a journal you are I'm not a journalist. You're
a journal So you guys are really into spell checking
and going back on yourself and and okay, well then
I'm wrong a lot and I'm fine with that. It's okay,
you know what I meant. Sometimes keyboards are tight, man,
(53:35):
You don't say you're trying to type fast and the
keyboard only gives you so much room. Well, I guess
maybe it'speaking. Didn't teach you typing. I was bad in typing.
Have you ever seen um, oh gosh, oh gosh, Elephant
in the room, Elephant in the room, Patrise O'Neil Lord
rest is. So I'm a comedian brother. But you know
the part where he's talking about how he can't type. Yeah,
(53:57):
that's what I can't tie. Yeah, that's a great yet,
because I was about the selling sandwiches, the calling everybody
because there was a typing clay and now I can't type.
Trying to talk to a girl in and she said hello,
I didn't the butt and that's me. I type in
all caps. If you go to my Twitter right now,
because the cat look at my keep on right now,
(54:17):
look at me, keep on my laptime. The cat locks
is on. I'm not yelling, but I do talk loud.
So if I'm talking loud, So what hello? So hello?
How are you doing today? What do you expect me
to do? Write a paragraph? Coming up next? What do
the Eagles need to do to win? Martin and VJ,
Fox Sports Radio. Martin and VJ coming to your live
in the TIRA Dot com Studios you carry, Dude, this
(54:38):
is Mike. Are you kidding me? Holding on? Oh my dude,
let me tell you something. I'm right in a film
right now, an eighties dope film. It's about It picks
up from where Scarface leaves off from Okay, and there's
a scene. I'm right in the club where the two rival, like,
you know, drug guys gotta come and sit and talk
and make a deal. And I have this song playing
(54:59):
in the club. Dude, I loved Hauling Oas I know,
I'm probably the only light skinned black man in America's
oh that we know. Oh my god, man, and listen.
When I was a kid, I thought they were black
before I saw who they were and I was like,
oh wow, they're not. Oh my god. I love hauling Oak. Stood.
(55:21):
They were at the They were at the Hollywood Bowl
for my birthday two years ago. Dude, Oh my god,
I can thank you for playing this. Chris, You know,
my brother, you are right on the music. Dog, Really
I try, Oh my god. Direct dot com will help
you get there with an unmacked selection, fast free shipping,
free road as a protection. Over ten thousand recommended his
(55:42):
dollars tirect dot com the way Tire Bryan should be.
Now you know the number one with a bullet, the
guy who they actually hid the fact that he was
white from his audience. Oh really, see I didn't okay,
what you won't do for love? Oh yeah? Yeah? But
like if you look at just this search won't see
an image of the singer who sings the song in
(56:03):
the album mart or anything like that. You know, if
it's so popular among black people that they were like, yo,
we've we figured this out. We're not gonna go ahead
and tricky. They also did that with Billy Ocean. They
also did that with the Ocean. Uh you know he
he had um Caribbean Queen licensed to drive soundtrack Get
Out of My Dream Get It? Do you know? You
(56:23):
know that? Okay? I just well you to look on
your face, was like yeah, I don't just want How
far are you gonna go? Oh well, I can sing
the whole song, but we don't have time, Okay, I
love I love me some billy some billy. Why I
think I don't think there's rights against a singing. We
can like if you and I wanted to go, I compel.
I don't think we're get in trouble for that, we
can't play it. But why what I said, why tempt faith?
(56:43):
Oh man, I don't come on the dude. I don't
think anybody cares. If Martin and VJ sings Caribbean Queen
by Billy ocean On. I think I think we would
be okay. I could be wrong, but I think we
would be okay. Anyway, go ahead. So the Philadelphia Eagles
this season, I mean this postseason, I should say yes,
have like thrown for off the top of my head
(57:04):
less than three yards and two games and the longest
pass in the last game and championship two weeks ago
to Devonte Smith was not a catch at all, which
I saw a live. I don't know how everybody else
didn't see it live. But again, maybe that's just that's
just my bill. I was like, I saw a live
my girl sitting next to you. I think he called it.
I'm like, no, he didn't catch it. Look out he
runs around after Wow. Wow. I'm not gonna step on
(57:27):
Steve for that. But something big just happened in the
sixers in the Nets game. He'll get to that in
the bottom of the out. But speaking of Philly and
this Eagles team, VJ they're going against who we pretty
much determined to be at this point pretty much undisputed
the best quarterback in football. Patrick Mahomes No, no, yeah,
(57:48):
I know he is man whether yes, yes he is. Yes,
he is the best quarterback in football. And and kind
of the narrative of the conversation is what the Eagles
Chief's got the best quarterback in the game. Eagles have
the better team? Yes, My thing is though, how much
like on degrees of better? Right, So if the Eagles
(58:09):
have the number one defense set, okay, what the Chiefs
have the fifth best defense, sixth best? You know what
I'm saying, Like, I don't know if to me, the
big the big drop off here, it's going to be
slaying Black Slay Bradberry the Eagles defensive secondary if they
because they should win that matchup with the Kansas City
pass catchers. They should win that matchup, right, just when
(58:32):
you look at it on paper, they should win that matchup.
If they don't, I think that's gonna be the biggest
reason why Philly would lose this game. Yeah, I'm with
you on that too, if if they don't match up,
but I think they will though, There's there's the thing
I have a hard time really thinking that the weapons
that the Chiefs are gonna put out on the field
(58:52):
are gonna be able to duplicate with the normal weapons
that they've had. And even during the regular season, we're
talking two weeks to prepare. Just freaky things happen in
these Super Bowls. And we both won a great game,
and I think my homes will play great, and I
think Jalen Hurt will play great. But when you talk
about as far as what skill positions, said, I much
rather have in this game. I will take Phillies defense.
(59:14):
I'll take Philly skill position receivers. To also another stat
another player that no one has mentioned, or I don't
gonna say no one. I haven't heard anybody mentioned Sanders,
the running back from Philly, when he rushes for over
seventy yards, they are nine and oh so if they're
gonna run the football, what you know they're going to
do because that's what Philly does. You're talking about a
(59:37):
team with Philly two man. Everybody talks about their offense
and their defense, and there Philly had the number three
ranked offense in the NFL this year and the number
two ranked defense in the NFL this year. That's why
people say they're the better team because they have both
sides of the ball are both ranked in the top
three of the thirty two teams in the NFL. So
with the Chiefs, the offense has to beat the defense.
(59:58):
The defense doesn't have to beat Phillies. Phillies defense doesn't
have to beat the Chief's office. The office has to
go score. And I think Phillies defense to one of
the prople bets that I took this morning, I think
Philly defense scores a touchdown tomorrow. I'm going out on
a limb with that one. There there's a scooping score
or there's a pick six for Phillies defense. It's coming,
you know. In there's fifty six Super Bowls played and
(01:00:22):
defensive touchdown, which that's not that that doesn't happen, Like,
that's an odd number to your point, And maybe it
has something to do with the nerves something maybe just guys, hey,
the moment of destiny making plays. But I mean it
is something that is not on its face, may sound
like that's a crazy bet, not so much, especially when
you consider the frequency in which defensive touchdowns happened in
(01:00:43):
this game. Also when you consider how Both of these
defensive lines are very very aggressive. Both defensives a very
aggressive and you could see some scenario in which one
of these two quarterbacks could potentially fumble in the pocket
and then what happens that all gets out score And
not only that, though I think that, I don't I
(01:01:04):
don't think that either one of these quarterbacks will be
rattled tomorrow. I think one could be running for his life,
and that's Pat Mahomes. But I don't think it Hurts
gets rattled tomorrow. Mahomes doesn't get rattled. As you say.
He's the best quarterback in football. Like him or not,
he's clearly cut the best guy in football, and I
think he's I think I think him and Hurts, in
my opinion, they're heading shoulders above. I know you love Burrow,
(01:01:26):
and I know it loves a lot of the world,
and of course Vegas loves Josh Allen. But I think
these two guys, man, are as good as you're gonna
get that we have in the Super Bowl right here.
So I don't think either one of them gets rattled.
But I think that if you could get a blind
side hit, they both see too much coming. So it's
not gonna be a guy they see running right at
the make a play, it's gonna be a guy they
don't see coming, or a coverage where they just kind
(01:01:48):
of misread somebody they think this guy drops off in
his own he comes off with this guy cuts underneath
the pass. Something of that fact of that magnitude I
think happens tomorrow. But I'm gonna put it off out.
Like I said, I took the problem back this morning.
Hit my boy back. He's in the DF. He was like, Yo,
go put this one down for me. Man, give me
Philadelphia Eagles defense to score a touchdown tomorrow, and I
think that'll be the difference, probably could be the difference
(01:02:09):
in the game. Uh. One prop that I like. I'll
get to that one up, Brad in about an hour.
I'll have everybody wait for that nine thirty Eastern hour.
I'm gonna drop down today. I got a couple good
that that we might see. On the other side of
this update, will get Mark Mdina, Fox Sports Radio, NBA Insider. Uh,
he's had had the latest on Lebron and everything else.
(01:02:30):
But Steve Sager, can you please update this with this
Philly Nets game and everything else going on in the
NBA well the Nets inherent to tying three pointer came
just after the buzzer. Philly wins one oh one at
Brooklyn and Philadelphia trailed by nine with about six and
a half minutes to go. Joel Embiid, who last night
had thirty five points and a win against New York,
had thirty seven tonight at Brooklyn. Among the games in progress,
(01:02:54):
it's early third quarter, but the Magic are leading the
Miami Heat fifty six to fifty, and it's Washington in
the third leading eight two sixty eight over the Pacers.
Bradley Beal twenty one points, Kyle Kuzma the Wizards out
for a third straight game with his brained ankle. Charlotte
trying to end a six game losing streak, but Denver
has gone ahead at Charlotte in the third sixty sixty four.
(01:03:16):
Nicola Yoki twenty four points, Aaron Gordon, Jamal Murray out
for the Nuggets. San Antonio has lost eleven straight games,
but is only down one late first half at Atlanta
fifty nine fifty eight Hawks. The Lakers game at Golden
State starts in just a few minutes. L A's Lebron
James out again, with a sore ankle, and we're expecting
to see Luca don Sitch on the court for the
(01:03:36):
Mavericks at Sacramento in the late game at ten pm
Eastern time. He's listed as probable after missing the last
four straight games with a bruised heell. Portland's Jeremy Grant
is in concussion protocol. The averages twenty one points per game.
Missouri wins at number six Tennessee on a three pointer
at the buzzer, eighty six to eighty five. Tennessee has
(01:03:57):
now lost three of its last four games. Eight rank
Virginia in overtime beat Duke sixty nine sixty two, easy
wins in the top ten for Kansas for Texas and
number three Alabama got a victory at Auburn seventy seven
sixty nine wins for Marquette and St. Mary's Indiana ranked
eighteenth one at Michigan sixty two sixty one as Michigan
(01:04:18):
went scoreless for the last five minutes over six from
the floor. St. John's beat number twenty Providence Illinois over
number twenty four Rutgers to the NHL. Washington a winner
at Boston two to one. Scottie Scheffler leads to Phoenix
open by two strokes. John rom Is tied for second.
The Dodgers agreed to a one year deal with former
(01:04:38):
Cardinals closer Alex Reyes plus an option year. And the
super Bowl is tomorrow on Fox TV from Arizona, Kansas
City against Philadelphia. Back to you, thanks, Stephen. Coming up now,
we've got Mark Mdina Fox Sports Radio, NBA insider joining
us as we come to you live from the tirerac
dot com studios. We got marked, my guy, How are
(01:05:01):
you doing? Man? Good to good to catch up with you.
I don't know if the NBA knew the Super Bowl
is Sunday? What's good? The hell is going on around here?
They gotta keep things interesting to cut away from all
the attention on the NFL. Right, and at least for
one week, they did a good job. Right. You got
Lebron James breaking cream, Abdul Jabar's all the time scoring record,
(01:05:22):
Kyrie Irving uh making his debut with the Dallas and Mavericks.
The Sun was getting Kevin Durant in a trade, and
you know all the other deals trade deadline. So yeah,
never don't moment this weekend. Yeah, I never don't mom,
what's going on? Mark VJ? Right, Husky here, thanks for
joining us on Martin VJ. Let's get right to Kyrie man.
We spoke last week. My last question to you was
we wake up on Friday morning? Where's Kyrie Irv? A
(01:05:44):
lot of people thought the Lakers that in materialize, But
just your thoughts on him being shipped off to Dallas
and being teamed up with Luca, a guy that basically
took his team to the Western Conference finals by by
himself last year, and now you add the dynamic of
Kyrie and also too, is he listed for tonight? Do
you know? I thought I might have seen he was
listed out tonight with some type of soreness. Well, Luca
(01:06:06):
Dontrich has not played yet with Kyrie Irving, but I
think that there's still a chance that he played tonight
against Sacramento. Okay, alright, awesome, But and over and after that,
just your thoughts on him going to Dallas and how
do you see that working out there? Buddy? Yeah, I
mean to your point we talked last week. I didn't
envision that the Dallas Mavericks would get him. I think
that you know, there's people around the weak that considered
Hey a huge risk roll of the dice um, but
(01:06:27):
I also understand why they did it. Look, they've been
struggling with finding Luca Dotricks enough help. That's not to
say that his his teammates are bad players, but they're
just complimentary role players. There hasn't been that definitive complementary star.
And with Kyrie Irving, I think from an X is
an O standpoint, he is a perfect fit. Offensively, I mean,
(01:06:47):
I read his credit, he's blunted his talents well, Kevin Durant,
Lebron James, and you know, talking to the Dallas Mavericks
when they came into l A this week, you know,
I asked Jason Kidd, okay, what level of sacrifices do
you expect Luke and Kyrie to make? He made two
interesting points here where he said, you know, we understand
that this is Lucas team and this will be Lucas team,
so they clearly view Luca as the number one on
(01:07:10):
this dynamic. But on the other hand, they also mentioned
that they want Luca and Kyrie to be themselves. So
what does that look like. Kyrie is going to be
a playmaker, but he's also going to play off the ball,
he's gonna be a score, but he's gonna be a passer.
Uh And Kyrie has has shown that he can do
those things. As far as Luca goes, I think a
(01:07:30):
lot of the idea is not so much having him
adjust his game, but reducing his workloads, his usage rate
and his minutes aren't so high, and then staggering those minutes,
you know, so each player has time to shine. We'll
have to see how that plays out. To your point,
Luca hasn't played yet, but I think from that standpoint,
you can work. But here are the question marks. Hey,
(01:07:51):
they're not a good team on defense. When I asked
Jason Kidd, how do they mitigate that? You know, he
started talking about how they need to be willing to participate,
But then he started talking about their high powered offense
and translation, it's all about scoring points off. The number
two part is just Kyrie's availability history and just his
unpredictable behavior. That's an unknown. So on one hand, he's
(01:08:12):
talking about, Hey, it's it's nice to be in a
new environment where I feel, you know, respected and celebrate
as opposed to being tolerated. Those were his exact words.
You know, he's really playing the martyr card, because you know,
there's a lot of self inflicted things that made him
not available, whether it was just injuries, uh, you know,
his refusal to get the vaccine man mandate, having a
(01:08:34):
suspension for promoting, you know, an anti semitic film, and
maybe all those three things separately are in the past.
But just knowing how Kyrie has been you can't help.
But wonder is there another piece of dynamite lurking behind
the corner of the next door? Um so, yeah, I
think it is very risky, but I think the maps
justified this. Of Hey, at least we're showing commitment to
(01:08:56):
Luca Dodge of putting better rosh around him. And it
doesn't work out. Uh, you know, they'll part ways of
summer and then they'll have cat flexibility. Now, the other
shoe of the Kyrie irving tray d obviously dropped. I
was in Phoenix, and I tell you there was a
palpable noise that happened at the part that I was at,
with people like elbowing other people and showing him tweets
(01:09:16):
like yo, Katie is coming here now. So what do
you make first of the new owner coming in? I
mean gets his user name and password and then all
of a sudden trades for an all time player within
twelve hours, and then also Phoenix's opportunities going forward. Yeah,
I mean, well, clearly want to make a splash, and
sometimes when you have a new owner, it can cut
both ways. They either decide, hey, I don't want to
(01:09:38):
make abrupt changes because obviously I'm gonna have to take
ownership of it, or they want to go the other
way around. In this case, it's a no brainer to
that Kevin Durant if he's available, um, and I think
the underrated part of this is that while they did
give up a lot to get him, most notably with
mcal Bridges, the fact that they still have Chris Paul
and Devin Booker and DeAndre and on their team. This
(01:09:59):
is the gam that's favored to win I think the
NBA Championship and get out of the West, but it's
not guaranteed. All those four players have committed dominators of
health issues in the last few years, and so there
could very much be a recipe that some of those
guys are dealing with injuries. When you look at Phoenix,
for example, Chris Paul was out at the beginning of
the season. Then Devin Booker was out there. That's why
(01:10:21):
the Sons having fifth in the West. Kevin Durant still
hasn't come back from his recent injury, and so I
think from an x is an no standpoint, it's plug
and play their star players. It's a great locker room,
great dynamic with those guys, but health is going to
be the unknown. So the West it's still wide open
from But from a talent standpoint, I mean, the Sons
(01:10:41):
are night and day compared to the rest of the West,
and Mark I want to stay in the West. Man,
I would go to Lakers, but I think everybody's talked
about that enough. Maybe Marty hit you with that. There's
another deal with that happened. It looks like it could
be resitting it. I'm a lifelong Detroit Pistons fan. I
was a static that we got Weisseman and to to
add to Ivan, to add to Cunneyham. But there is
now um a Rich a monkey rich thrown into plan
(01:11:03):
here with the injury uh in the calf to Gary
Payton the second could you update us on that. I
think I'm seeing something or heard something this morning. They
have like a deadline tomorrow to figure it's how to
get this done or everybody is back to the route
one on that deal. Yeah, it's until Sunday tomorrow. And
if basically if the Lake, if the Warriors find issue
with just how long this timetable is going to be
(01:11:25):
for Gary Paid in the second to be back, maybe
they think, hey, it's better off even with dealing with
the awkwardness of James Wiseman, knowing that they try to
trade them to to go back to the original deal.
But I think the frustrating part with the Warriors, it's
not like you can attach another player or asset because
the trade deadline is already passed. You can't even do
(01:11:46):
a thing where hey, how about throwing us a few
second round picks? You know teams have been throwing five
second round picks it seems like for everything deal. But
in this case that doesn't work. Um So I think
that they're trying to get more clarity on the time
table with his injury there under the impression that it
might not be three months, it's more a few weeks.
But still that's substantial. If I had a guess, Gary
(01:12:09):
pay in the second winds up with the Warriors if
I think they want to, you know, cross teas and
dot eyes, because it's a fair question, ask how on
earth did he fail his physical when he was literally
on the court a few days ago. That brings up
a lot of questions about Portland's medical staff. Joe cronin
the GM was asked about it. He was adamant that
the training staff considered that he was healthy enough to
(01:12:30):
play and there wasn't any foul play involved, and so
when he connect the dots and maybe something happened after
he was playing on the court, but you know, it's
one thing for injuries to happen in the wear and tear,
but so badly that you can't even pass the physical.
Giant red flag in my eyes. But we'll have to
wait in Sion now, Mark, you did a piece on
NBA dot com. Obviously Super Bowls tomorrow. The NBA missed
(01:12:53):
the memo, but we're still gonna watch it, all right.
I want to. I think out of everybody who you
interviewed about a players who could play in the NFL,
I think former Lakers center Thomas Bryant is the only
guy who might be able to be a real scouting
talent because he had Lou Doorton, O g and and
Nobi who that didn't seem to make anybody else's list.
I feel like Zion is the number one guy, like
(01:13:14):
go go rest the pastor big Fellow. You know what
I'm saying. We can see Zion bending the edge. But
I thought that Lou Dorton, O g and Abe out
of everybody else that's on this list, you know, for
people to keep on a rust and Deer and Fox,
they could actually might play and actually play football, and
we look at their size. Yeah, I mean, let's be clear,
I mean, out of respect for the NFL players and
just how physically taxing and violent, uh the sport is.
(01:13:37):
I don't think any of the guys are under the
illusion that, you know, hey, let's pick NBA players that
can plug and play very much the hypothetical exercise that
I was going for here. And yeah, so your point,
everyone is saying Zion and Lebron maybe for obvious reasons. Ay,
they both played football at the youth level and be
you know, they are really physically built, and you know
(01:14:00):
there's a reason why they can go downhill and attack
the room really well. They're physically imposing and there's a
lot of defenders that want to make a business decision
of both not getting on a poster as well as
just wanting to protect their body and not get hurt, right,
And so that that makes sense to your point. Thomas
Bryant really broke it down. I mean he was saying
(01:14:21):
that Lou Dort, he's strong, uh O g n Anobi,
he's strong. Chris Paul he felt like he could be
a quarterback because of just how his instincts are as
a wide receiver, looked at in Anobi as a free safety. Um.
But yeah, I mean he really went down the list.
There are a few guys when I was talking to
them where you know, kind of come up by surprise.
(01:14:41):
It's like before after a game and they're trying to
think of guys. But I really give someone like Thomas
Bryant a lot of credit as well as you know,
when I talked to san Antonio Spurst for Doug McDermott,
I mean he really went in depth, you know, just
going literally positioned by position. Um. So yeah, a lot
of a lot of good names. A lot of it
(01:15:03):
was the familiar guys with not just Zion and Lebron,
but they're bringing up you know, guys like Draymond Green
because of his nature as a defender, but then they're
also looking at the speed. So some other common candidates
where guys like Russell Westbrooke and Darn Fox, John Morant,
Tyrese Maxie. But it was cool to kind of pick
their brain a little bit because a lot of them
(01:15:25):
do follow the NFL and so they a lot of
them had answers readily available on their all NFL team. Well,
the Lakers and the Warriors. Tip Tip just tipped off
the new look Lakers. My lasting memory of Thomas Bryant
will be his incredible post seal as Lebron is going
to get his hands calling for the ball as Lebron
(01:15:46):
is shooting the all time winning shot. But Martin mcdeina,
thanks for joining Fox. Thanks so much. Guys enjoying the
game as well. They're coming up next. This Super Bowl
is gonna be historic no matter what Martin and b
taking into it. Next Martin d VJ coming to you
live from the Tirack dot Com Studios, Hampy this one listen, man,
(01:16:08):
Chris my man bro this is this this song right here,
I see myself in the club right I got a
white suit on. I got a button down shirt where
only like three buttons a button. So I got my
chests out and like two or three gold chains on,
and I'm just doing this two step and I'm just
eyeing this beautiful lady across the room on the dance floor,
and she's kind of, you know, dancing and looking over
(01:16:28):
at me. Did I just not give y'all a movie scene?
Right there? Baby? Right here? It sounds strikingly similar to
what that Bruno Mars song played a few weeks ago.
It felt the game the same vibe. Pretty woman was
definitely involved in both of them. Well how about this then?
That means Bruno Mars is even more lame than I
thought he was before, because he's copying from my man
right here, so he's not even original. So now so
(01:16:48):
now I don't because that's just what happened. That's only
that's just what happened. That's only because you slept outside
for Bruno Mars tickets. I'm sleeping back, so that's why
you had. You had an an all time bad ticket. Said,
you know what, I can make it worse, baby, I
can make it worse. Another one, another one. Patrick Mahomes
(01:17:09):
and Jalen Hurts will be the first. It will be
the first time in Super Bowl history that we have
two black quarterbacks on either side of the of the
starting of excuse me, two black quarterbacks starting on either
side of this game. Uh, you know, it's it's a
it's a moment to me that you know, it's a while,
it's important to me. It feels like thank you by
(01:17:32):
the time you guys caught up. Yeah, it's about the
time you guys going. You know, listen, man, anybody that
knows me that's been following me, whether it was on
podcasts or the internet over there Fox Sports Radio, the
guys know where I stand. As far as the way
black quarterbacks have been treated depicted, I go all the
way back to Warren Moon, as far as he happened
to go to the Canadian League and win five Great Cups,
(01:17:53):
which is their equivalent to our Super Bowl to wards
and before he even got a shot to go to
Hugh stand and then created the running shoot there where
Webster Slaughter, Ernest Gibbons, Heywood, Jeffries, Rose Giars the running
back and just lit the NFL up, you know, on
the on the wrong end of the biggest comeback and
playoff history up at Orchard Park up. I think with
(01:18:15):
thy three or something like that in a half and
losing that game. But this is this is great, man.
And when you think about guys like Doug Williams, who
was the first, uh black quarterback to start a Super Bowl,
the first black quarterback to win a Super Bowl, and
the first black quarterback to be Super Bowl MVP. And
that was way back in Super Bowl twenty two. So
to see it now come full force where we have
(01:18:36):
two starting man and there's guys that can give you.
Guys all Dayly and Marlon Briscol, Eldrin Dickie, a lot
other you know black quarterbacks that that were the first
something as far as NFL history is concerned. But I'm
hyped for this tomorrow, man, and I'm ready. And as
I said, I want the narrative of the running quarterback
that can't win the Super Bowl to go away and
then we'll have it all covered now we don't have
to hear it anymore. Just it's just wild to me
(01:18:57):
because you know, on the flip side of that, Okay,
my homes wins this one. I'm ready to like entertain
conversations with what the next five years would look like
like like even though Brady just hung them up, I'll
be ready to I'll be ready to talk about it
MC championship games, uh, two super Bowl wins. I'd be
ready to talk about it in terms of what does
it look like, what do we have to where do
(01:19:17):
we draw the line in that conversation? In the world
of Charles Barkley, it's time to start a dialogue Martin
and Vjy Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Football Saturday. That's right, VJ.
I want you to give me everything you got, all
of it, everything you got as we come to the
alive for the direct dot com studio sirac dot com.
We'll help you get there with an UNNAC selection, fast
(01:19:37):
free ship and free road addere protection and over ten
thousand recommended installers tire rac dot com. The way tied
buying should be j look and uh, obviously the Super
bowls tomorrow. I'm so excited, are you? It's kind of
a melancholague? Are you kidding me? I'm gonna get up early.
I'm gonna go to the gym, put in my two
hour workout, and then go prepare my grub and my
(01:19:58):
liquor and my train and by three o'clock I want
to be because I like to watch him come out.
I like to watch introductions, National anthem all of that.
So from three pm, so all times your TV turning on. Tomorrow,
Oh god, when I get home from the gym, I'm
going to the gym. My appointment, My training appointment is
at like in the morning. I'll be home by eleven.
So when I get home, when I walk in, Mickey
Mouse Clubhouse goes off. No cartoons, no Adventures in Dougie,
(01:20:20):
no Achille and Me, none of that. My kids love
to watch all the time. I hear that all week long.
My TV is going on the minute I walked back
in from the gym, and then turn the volume all
the way up so as I move around my house,
I can hear it. See what I ended up doing
in my apartment. I feel you. I have this, It's
like this big speaker in my living room. But I
just have like kids twentieth television, thirties televisions like the
(01:20:41):
only hundred bucks now right, of course, so I'll get
a video baby, exactly. It's not like like when I
was in college. It's t be a flat screen TV. Man,
what's you kids? Do kids these days have no idea
what it was like trying to move that big body
TV to do your different college apartments, right, you know
what I'm saying, trying to move that big the bigger
screen TV that they took five people in. The tron
(01:21:04):
had wheels on it, and the big floor model big
screens back in the day that the big box like
I had a big back, like the back stuff back
had a big old back on it. Man, and my
mind had wheels. So you can will it to the door.
But what you got it to the door? Like you said,
you need like three or four homies to help you
carry the hat boy, and you need a homie with
a truck. Yeah, that's the only way it's gonna have it.
And that's a lot of friends. Yeah, that's a lot
(01:21:25):
of friends. That's a lot of friends saying, hey, but
you know now, the flat screens are relatively inexpensive. I
got one in the kitchen, I got the room, I
got one. Like there's pretty much nowhere that I can
sit in my apartment and not be in view of
probably multiple screen flat screen. Baby, Yeah, bucks man, go
(01:21:48):
to go to know you don't even you know, you
go on you know you can go online shopping. I'll
just put it like that, and you can find some
nice three two two saying for the press of ones.
You know. But I do know this. If you have
doing your TV shop in the day, good luck, because
you watch the Big Game. You know, this is the
(01:22:09):
biggest television purchasing weekend, and then next weekend is the
biggest television return. People go by these big screens, flat
screens for these back patio backyard super Bowl parties, and
they turned right around and return the things. I used
to work in a costco as a retailer for another company,
and after super Bowl weekend, dude, you should see the
(01:22:31):
amount of seventy and sixty four inch fifty eight inches
that will back into the return and into the door
to the return death and they turn right around and
return these television I would love to see the number
on that. Yeah. No, well I know that when I
was when I was in Phoenix traveling back and forth
from Radio Row, I had about a twenty five minute
(01:22:51):
uber ride. These are mean, I'll tell you what. I
don't know if it was just look on my face
or what, but I had more conversation and in five
days of ubers and I've had in a year of
uber in l A. So I just just but one
of the people was asking me, like, what's the deal
with all the security, like kind of like like why, man,
it's because I mean it's intense, Like it's intense just
(01:23:13):
going into the Radio Row pre week. There's dogs. There's
there's like five six cops per dog. Like it's like
like like, let me think at least fifteen to twenty
uniformed officers on all four corners of where Radio Row
the entrance the entrance right, and so if you don't,
(01:23:33):
like if you don't have a badge or nothing, I'll
tell you what the intimidation factor. I had everything I
needed to have, and I was just that's exactly where
I was supposed to be. And I walked and I
kind of shivered because I was cold, and the police
officer said to me, yeah, I know. And I was like, wait, what,
I didn't do it. I didn't do it. I didn't
know it was you know what, you know you know
what He's like, No, man, I'm just cold too. I
was like, yeah, man, for whatever, reading the desert is
(01:23:55):
not heating it up right now. But I said to
tell her. I was like, listen, you know, older women,
maybe wasn't hit, but I was like, this is the
biggest television show in American world, Like this is the exactly.
So it's like, yeah, they're gonna have all types of
security walking around and all types of security in there.
And and to that point, roking through radio row, you know,
I was standing next to Jeff Schwartz, Fox Sports radio
(01:24:16):
friend and friend of the show. I'm sitting there talking
to him and he goes, hey, Clark, look over and
he's talking to this short man. Right. I mean I'm
short to Jeff right, but he's this guy's shorted than me.
He comes into my shoulder, gotta cut, graying hair, and
I'm like, man, I know this guy's face from somewhere.
Where do I know it from? And I realized I
(01:24:37):
knew it because that's the guy that's raised the ANFC
Championship trophy several times. That's Clark Hunt, the owner of
the Kansas City Chiefs. Yeah. So it's just like, you know,
a casual billy walking around. You know what I'm saying.
It's just billionaires just just moving and shaking. So I
understood the police president not only to that you also
have to think about it too. This is this is
the event. The biggest celebrities show up to it. This
(01:24:57):
is the super Bowl. There's there's celebrit brettys of celebrity.
A list of a lists are flying in over the
last probably two or three days for somebody, A lot
of the big parties and stuff. You got all these
former Hall of famers that have carried their career onto radio,
onto TV, or some of them have been in movies.
Something like, this is a big deal. You talk about viewership,
I'm thinking a hundred million tomorrow. I mean easily. Ar Okay,
(01:25:21):
see what last year did. But this year because it's
it's Pat Mahomes and he is the darling face of
the NFL, and you Philly is a huge there's a
huge fan presence of Philly. I didn't even know, like
Brian filling him and I a hallway talking before I
came in. I didn't know you have family and Filling
My neighbor upstairs in my complex. We were talking last night.
I was grilling chicken and filet. Man young on the Girl.
He walks by, how you watching the game? You about?
(01:25:43):
Who are you going for a while? I have a
lot of family and film like whoa you got family
and Philly to like, yeah, my dad's born and raise.
They're all big Eagle fans and the Philadelphia Eagles fan
base is huge, so that there will be this might
break records tomorrow. And Tom Brady's played in a bunch
of season a lot of people love to watch him
win or lose. And tomorrow it's just that you have
(01:26:04):
the Chiefs, you know, historical franchise from the a f L.
And then you have the Philadelphia Eagles back into Super
Bowl again five years later from when they pulled it
off before. I just think, tomorrow, man, what was last
years that If you can find that last year's last
year's rating, million people watch. Okay, so it's cracking that
tomorrow the highest rated Uh you may remember, Oh no,
(01:26:26):
tell me, don't tell me, don't tell me. I want
to I want to take us. I want to take
a staff. I will say, man, highest rated, give me
Patriots and Falcons, Packers and Broncos. No, okay, that's it, alright,
No Patriots were there, but it is the Patriots win
over the Seahawks. The interception on the goal line Super
(01:26:49):
Bowl and how many how many of us D fourteen
million viewers over over under to morrow viewers. For you,
I'm going over. I'm going over over, you're going over.
I'm gonna go under one million. I'll go over million
(01:27:14):
over the last year that too. I think when you
add in the the the people who think the NFL
is so rigged, the way the conference championship games played out,
the two black quarterback thing. I when you added all
the Andy Reid going against his former team that he
couldn't win a Super Bowl four as a coach, and
(01:27:34):
one think when you add all this stuff, and I
think it really it really shoots the viewership up up tomorrow.
I I'll call one eighteen D eighteen million people. I
think we'll watch the super Bowl tomorrow. And guys, I
just got news for you. All right, men, just men
out there, as you're watching the game with your significant others,
(01:27:57):
maybe the first time she's seeing Jalen Hurts, she's probably
gonna comment, yes, just all right, just let it go,
just let it go, Just get over and look, let
it go. You know he's an attractive man, alright, But
just just know that she's going to say something and
it could spont an argument. So I'm telling you night
now right now, it's gonna happen right now, right because
(01:28:18):
she sees Hurts on the sideline getting ready shoot when
you saw the pole, right, everybody seeing a pole. They
took a poll, like I think maybe about a month ago,
of all the starting quarterbacks in the NFL, who would
ladies like to you know and uh and and have
enjoy for an evening? And Jayleen Hurts finished number one
and Jalen Hurts finished number one. To his credit, doesn't
(01:28:40):
seem like the type of guy he's out there like
chasing it around or anything like that. So I'm not
making this person. What I'm telling you men listening your
significant other, it's going to make references to how fine
Dalen Hurts. And I'm gonna tell you this right here.
Just let it roll off your back. Just been cooling
(01:29:00):
your masculinity. You got to shoot. It's just super Bowl
coming up. Man, this is the last game of the year.
You don't want to spend it arguing, alright, So just
last she says, just let it go. Everybody. Every man,
whether they meante not, every man has like a celebritor
and athlete they look at and they'd be like, you know,
damn not. You wish you looked like him. But you
(01:29:21):
can look at it, dude and be like, Okay, yeah
I could money. I can see he's probably beating him
off with a battar. He's keeping away with a stick
are I'm pretty sure there are a lot of ladies
that look at that man and go, you know, yeah,
like there's been there like the Rock right there. The
Rock was a guy that a lot of guys looked at.
Denzel Washington Will Smith like, come on, there's guys you
look at you go yeah, I see why the I
see why the ladies are. I see why the ladies
(01:29:43):
are lined up for that guy or love that Jalen hurts,
you know what. The real tough part is too like
the other guy and that was like Patrick mahomes right,
that may see him and be like, oh he's something.
Then they hear him talking like that is that kermit?
It's like I'm out out. So there's no like diversity
here in terms of who they're gonna pick. Jaitlyn. Okay,
(01:30:04):
they're gonna pick Jalen and fall in love. So especially
if he had continues to have a good game down
the stretch and they're showing shots at him coming off
high five and A J. Brownant gonna be lined up.
It's the super Bowl, so you know, brother, he go,
he gonna be lined up, cut, gonna be fresh. In
his media day, admitted, I don't have a haircut right now. Now.
I'm yeah, right now. Now he's getting it tonight. He
(01:30:25):
he strikes me as the type of guy that is
gonna have a game time line up. Of course, wouldn't you.
I mean I would have. Yeah, I'd wait till the morning.
I'd wait till that morning. I'd get up earlier than it,
like say say we gotta be downstairs at eight. I'm
up at my Barbara. I'm on the listen. I need
you here at six am. Already got your pass at
the front desk just because, but I need you here
at six ames so you can take your time. And
I need the freshest cut you've ever given anybody, so
(01:30:46):
as I'm pulling my helmet off and on, it don't
mess up. I needed that fresh that when I take
my helmet off, it don't like scrape up the sides
and kind of ruined the fade. And I needed I
need my cut to be the freshest cut and it's
about to be the biggest pay that you've ever had
in your barbering career. It is gonna be It is
gonna be fun because I do find that guys, like
you've seen guys before shave the Super Bowl numbers in
(01:31:06):
the back of their heads and stuff like that. Those
are more kind of the fun things that I'd like
to see. Now going back, just the media and the
Chiefs were much looser than the Eagles were. In general,
the Chiefs look like they I mean, obviously they've been
there before, right, I'm saying they look like they've been
there before. They actually have been there before. Most of
the key players and at least, you know, minus the
wide receiving corps. Pretty much for the Chiefs. Eagles were
more straight to business. But ultimately at the end of
(01:31:29):
the day, um, I think we'll see some interesting things
out of Kansas City and some of their some of
their like more like Frank Clark. I bet he'll have
something interesting. Michigan and listen, man, this is very simple
for me, and I know the second we're gonna get
into what do they need to do to win? But
it's very simple for me. Man, protect Patrick Mahomes, everything
else will fall into place. I don't think their defense
is gonna play horrible. I think the defensive playing good
(01:31:50):
Christian doesn't make some place like you just mentioned. Frank Clark,
our guy Michigan, Trim McDuffie talked about them earlier in
earlier in the show there they'll be fine. But if
you do not keep Patrick Mahomes up right and keep
this Philly pressure off of him, they're in trouble. Man.
And during the break, I told you I don't I
think this is I think this is an eight to
ten point game either way. I'll put give you guys
(01:32:10):
in the last segment who we're gonna pick. But I
don't think this is everybody's twenty. Everybody wants it to
be closest to be on the safe side. I think
one of these offenses and one of these defenses explode
and and Philly defense scores a touchdown, there's an extra
seven on the board, and I think their offense will
be just fine running the football. So you know, we'll
we'll see. But I think the Chiefs just have to
(01:32:32):
their their number one, number two, number three, four or five, six, seven,
protect Patrick Mahomes, simple as that, because that's how it is.
If you can hold the ball for six seven, was
gonna kill him. He's going to m Yes, he's going
will be surgical, because will be surgical. Unless he's running around. Now,
if he's holding it one five, and that's because he's
got to keep like like pivoting and running around and
(01:32:54):
turning his back and changing the direction, then no, no, no,
then they won't be picking him apart. He'll just be
running from his life. But if he's the and the
Patrick Mahomes running around magician stuff, no look past underhand flip,
you gotta wrapped up around the waist, and as you're
pulling them down, he flicks it out to Travis Kelsey
four yards and Travis Kelsey makes a linebacker missing picks
up another twelve four first down on third and nine.
(01:33:14):
Like he's doing stuff like that, then then Phillis got problems.
I just remember the last two Super Bowl that they
lost where starting Mike Grammers and left, they couldn't block
for anything. And he had two of the more impressive
incompletions I've ever seen in my life, because he was
running around parallel to the ground, winging the ball and
hitting his receivers in the helmet. He hit mccorman in
(01:33:37):
the corner in the helmet with the ball and it
was really hard to fart. The hard to fault the
receivers for the Chiefs at the time, because it's like yo,
nobody has The players don't last as long in this league.
They don't last as long. So like you probably on
the ground, Pat, sorry, but I imagine they'll probably be
coaching them up to be like yo. Until you hear
three whistles, exactly, stay open and keep your hands up
(01:33:59):
if you could quick, what's what's your what's your keys?
The keys to the Chiefs, like, they gotta do what
they have to. They have to a hold Philly to
under four yards to carry Philly's got to throw the ball.
Gotta make Philly throw it. No one you said that
NFC Championship game and I question and didn't It didn't work,
But nobody's made him do it. They didn't have one
(01:34:20):
with those guys though, A J. Brown, Vonte Smith, Dallas Guarden.
You're gonna go one on one with those guys. Look,
I look at the way Philly runs the ball, Look
at the way Phillips pass the ball. This postseason wanted
the look they ain't beat nobody throwing it yet, all right,
so that's not a knock on anybody or whatever. They
just they ever needed to. I'm gonna I'm gonna make
you beat me some other type of way that I see.
You just beat the last two teams you played. That's
(01:34:42):
my thing. And then my homes beat my homes, my
homes homes, and then uh, you know, MVS had a
really good an FC championship game. If he can continue that,
get a little a little window on Kelsey, help him
out some obviously, tell he's gonna be doubled the whole time.
But if you can, MBS can do a little bit it.
I think that's the Chiefs keyboard to show up too.
(01:35:04):
You know, he had the longest special teams play of
the year on the yard point return for the Chiefs.
Do you know what the chief The Eagles have the
thirty second rate special teams East Chiefs at thirty one.
I can't have everything. I didn't know. Oh yeah, wow,
so both these special teams are bad. Damn that could
be the game right there, It could be that could
be the game right and we're throwing, we're we're throwing.
All these other guys around and throwing all these nothing
(01:35:25):
and we haven't said nothing about a kicker a long
snapper returnment. There it is. We're getting into the NFL
Honors and this year's Hall of Fame class coming up next.

Slash for deem rewards terms apply. This reminds me of
(01:36:09):
my mom. This right here just reminded me of my mother.
My mom used to play this at our pool parties.
We had an house. I love I love this, So yo, Chris,
what are you trying to? Are you trying to bribe
me into something? Bro by just giving me this much
music love today and you gave me some MLP earlier. Bro.
I think he's just sliding with the early eighties and
that's just resonating man wrong. I tried to find the
(01:36:33):
music that fits the show. Thank you, brother. Do you
do you remember this one? No? Oh, okay, yeah, this
is this was a part. This is a club jam
back in the eighties. This is a yeah. I was
born in nine. I don't know. I don't have any
memory of that. I don't have I barely remember. Like
my memory kind of starts with like Independence Day in
(01:36:53):
terms of in terms of see there you go m
things that I like my high school when like Jordan
pushing off Byron Russell that was also wasn't true though,
because you have referenced during Christmas season, you referenced, uh
you know Jackson five, Michael Jackson Christmas. That was before
your time. But that doesn't know. I wasn't listening to
it when it came out. I was listening to it
(01:37:15):
in thousands when that's what that's when my parents are
listening to That's why I was listening to it, all right.
That you know, you don't get how many how much
control do your kids? Well? I guess probably a ton now,
but there's gonna be a stage about, you know, two
or three years from now where it's gonna be yo.
I don't care what you want to listen to. Back there,
we listen to what I want to listen to. You
(01:37:35):
know what journey My daughter, my one year daughter, you
know who she likes? Bro like who she really like?
Literally danced and do her stand up and bound to Biggie.
When I play Biggie bro my daughter like, she smiles
at that. Dude, I used to play Biggie in the
wound when Cameron was in the wound. But he really
likes cartoon songs. My daughter actually likes rap and she
watches Sopranos with me too. She thinks it's funny. She
(01:37:57):
laughs at it. How old is your daughter? One? What
are you gonna turn me in? I mean, why are
you asking? She thinks it's funny. My mom said the same,
My mom said. My mom said, probably be the one
that exposed my kids to the Sopranos's on. She's one.
You know what she understands eat cup milk, eat. She
(01:38:19):
doesn't understand. She didn't understand you know, Sopranos. You said that,
now watch what she's yelling at. Yeah, it's all good,
It's okay. So the three members of the Hall of
Fame are here, Yes, Rand Day, Barber, Therrell, reevs. Joe Thomas,
Jack Thomas, De Marcus Ware or the players and Don Koreel,
Chuck Howley, Joe Cleco and Ken Riley. We're all voted
(01:38:44):
in in the senior class or coach contributors. But the
five guys who you know that we generally are kind
of looking at here, Ryan Day, Barbara Derrell, reevs. Joe Thomas,
Jack Thomas, and De Marcus Ware. And this is we're
talking about the Hall of Fame, right, So this is
the best of the best of the best of the
sid the best, which I only have one real hang
up here. I have trouble with Joe Thomas being a
(01:39:08):
first ballot guy when Durrell Reevers, who is I'm sorry,
not Devin Hester is. What I meant to say is
the best corner is the best return specialist in football
history period, Stop, do not pass, go, do not collect
one the dollars. He is the guy. Now, I'm not
saying Joe Thomas wasn't dominant, and he obviously was as
(01:39:32):
tough as nails because he never missed. He barely miss
a snap. Okay, hundred six or seven games, that's over tess,
that's what ten and a half years, hundred six or
seven games. That's a lot back in sixteen games seasons.
But still that's that's incredible. But Devin Hester was the
offense essentially for the Chicago Bears and that Super Bowl
(01:39:54):
run and change the way that that that kick returning
was done in general, and it is the best kick
returner in an era of great kick returners. We talked
to one earlier today, Will Blackman has several return touchdowns.
You know what, He's not Devin Hester to tell you himself.
I my my my thing is the Devin Hester one
(01:40:16):
was a head scratcher to me because, like you said,
he's the greatest return man that we've ever seen. And
I'm probably on the minority on this one. I'm I
had a problem with DeMarcus Ware getting in this soon
because there's just other guys, namely one of my favorite
receivers growing up. I'm still trying to figure out how
Joe Jacobe offense along for the Reskins and Gary Clark
(01:40:39):
receiver for the Reskins are word the Redskins then, but
the commanders now are not in the hall, and you
having guys getting in before them. I do think de
Marcus where is a Hall of Famer and not. I
don't know if he's definitely a Hall of Famer, but
if he gets in, I'm not gonna complain about it,
but I just think that there's some guys that probably
should have got in before him, and he it's and
(01:41:00):
and then Devin Hester once again the greatest return man
that we've ever seen. And that's that's the passes Dion
and Dion was that before. That's the passes. Uh. You
can go to Aaron Metcalf, you can go to Va Kahemma,
you can go to so many return Desmond Howard did.
He's the best return man in the history of football.
He should have definitely been in with this class. Here,
(01:41:22):
Joe Thomas to me, I'm with you. It's a coin
flip man, it's a ten year career, it's a left tackle.
It's for the really bad Browns. I don't really know
how you even judge his career other than oh, how
many sacks did he allow? How many holding penalties? When
you play with a franchise that bad and it retired early,
right ten years, and he's like, all right, I'm done.
You know, I don't I don't have to do this anymore.
(01:41:42):
I put ten years in the franchise isn't going anywhere.
I don't want to go anywhere. I don't want to
go to new team and start. I'm just gonna retire,
so to me, and that's a coin flip kind of guy.
If he doesn't. If it took him another like five
years to get in, I wouldn't be like, oh my god,
there there there's there's Stiff and Joe Thomas. It's like, no,
he'll get in, but I don't know, like you know
this soon. So I'm with you on there, but I
kind of pushed back a little bit also on on
(01:42:03):
the on the Marcus, where yeah, if you have the Marcus,
weare in there. It's I feel if I'm Jared Allen,
I'm like, what do I gotta do? Yeah, there's there's
other guys, but ultimately I think Jared Allen is is
going to get into the Hall of Fame. But each
year goes by and it kind of hurts more and
more and more. Over Dwight Freeney, you see what I'm saying.
(01:42:25):
You see, what I'm saying is there's some of those
that but you know, what are you gonna do. I
do think at the end of the day, though, that
the NFL Hall of Fame is the most exclusive and
that's probably the best. That's that's why it is one
of the best. Like I think still at the end
of the day, that's what really kind of matters NBA
Hall of Fame or Pro Basketball Hall of Fame much
because the NBA didn't even have one. Uh it's baseball.
(01:42:48):
With Scott rolling and getting into people every year complaining
about this, I think, like I don't have a problem
with the markets where being a Hall of Famer or
Joe Thomas being a Hall of Famer. It's if you
look at some of the guys who have to wait,
that's what I'm saying, not right not right now. So
if you had to take so I'm assuming if you
had to switch your guy to like if your vote,
if you're one last vote counted, and I'm assuming you
would take out Joe Thomas and you would put in
(01:43:09):
Jared Allen. Correct, I would have put it, Yeah, I
have Jared. Okay, So let's just say Devin hester Is
already and that's the easy one. So your second one
would be jar Yeah. Mine, Mine would be Dwight Freeney.
But I'd also have I'd also have a conversation about
Reggie Wayne and Tory Holt. I would have a conversation
about those two gentlemen also because at the receiver position.
(01:43:31):
Once again, I think there's you know, I think there's
a little more that's gotta be done as a as
a receiver, um then as a left tackle for a
bad franchise. Now people are gonna say, well, Tory Holle
had a great quarterback, Regie had a great quarterback. Okay, cool,
But once again, Dwight Freeney, You're you're telling me, DeMarcus
where was better than Dwight Freeney. If you ever get
an opportunity, look at Torry Holt's hands, because I tell
(01:43:54):
them up before his fingers, all different types of directions.
It's one of the most wildest things you'll ever see.
To say, Steve, what's trying to get the world of sportsman,
what's going on in the NBA and everywhere else? And
by the way, Basketball Hall of Fame finalists we will
find out next weekend at NBA All Star weekend, and
(01:44:14):
then once we get to the final four, we'll find
out Basketball's class of three on April one, But we
do know the first time eligibles for the Hoops Hall
include Dwyane Wade, Dirk Navinski, Pau Gasol, and Tony Parker.
Chauncey Billups still on the ballot. Dwight Treeney was a
finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his
first year of eligibility. Not voted in. Andre Johnson not
(01:44:36):
voted in this week. Dwight Treeney is in the College
Football Hall of Fame class this year, along with Reggie Bush,
Tim Tebow, Luke Kickley, and others. And there are three
guys that wound up with the Philadelphia Eagles that are
in the College Hall of Fame class this year, Brian Westbrook,
Jeremy Macklin, and Troy Vincent. Yes Philadelphia against Kansas City
and the Super Bowl tomorrow on Fox TV from Arizona.
(01:45:00):
Former defensive coordinator Larry Coyer passed away at the age
of seventy nine. He worked for the Broncos, Colt Steelers
in addition to Iowa and Iowa State, the Dodgers agreed
to a one year deal with former Cardinals closer Alex Reyes,
plus an option year. In the NHL, Washington one at
Boston two to one, and Scottie Scheffler leads the Phoenix
opened by two strokes okay. In the NBA, it looked
(01:45:21):
like it was going overtime at Brooklyn, but the Nets
apparent tying three pointer came just after the buzzer. Philadelphia
wins on the road one oh one Joel Embi thirty
seven points. It's currently going to overtime at Orlando Magic
and the Heat tied at nine seven, and yet it
looks like San Antonio is gonna lose again. This will
be twelve straight losses. The Spurs are losing with under
(01:45:44):
four minutes left at Atlanta one, eighteen to six. Trey
Young twenty four points and sixteen assists. The Knicks are
tied with Utah ninety nine, seven and a half minutes ago.
Jalen Brunson thirty points for New York. Cleveland has won
five in a row, but is losing at home late
third quarter to Chicago sixty seven fifty eight. The Lakers
(01:46:04):
and Warriors are tied at forty nine two minutes left
in the second quarter. Lebron James of l A out
again with a sore ankle, and the late game starts
in about a half an hour. Dallas at Sacramento Kyrie
irving due to team with Luca Don Sitch for the
first time. Don Sitch returning from a bruised heel to
college basketball Missouri on a three pointer at the buzzer
one at number six ranked Tennessee eighty six eighty five,
(01:46:27):
currently number four ranked Arizona is only up sixty five
sixty three at Stanford eight and a half minutes to go.
Number eight Virginia in overtime beat Duke Oklahoma State upset
number eleven Iowa State. Texas Tech has beaten number twelve
Kansas State. Baylor gotta win at TCU eighteen ranked Indiana
one at Michigan St. John's over number twenty Providence, Creighton
(01:46:50):
beat Yukon and Illinois down number twenty four. Rutgers back here,
thanks Steve Martin and VJ. Coming to you live from
the tire rack dot Com Studios. VJ, did you see
this little girl who sat down next to Lebron sat
down next to her and she just had the moment
of like, oh my god, Lebron is sitting next to me.
Lisassualted just interviewed her on the sideline next to Lebron.
(01:47:12):
I wanted to see her ask Lebron a question too.
He ain't doing nothing beside sitting there just like she is. Yeah, listen,
I'm I don't get no comment. Man, I'm gonna leave
that because I'm gonna lead that one alone. She listen Lebron,
I tell you bad. That guy. He makes it so
easy for me. Somebody hit tweeting me the other day
that was like, dude, you're you're you're something something on
(01:47:33):
Lebron is is uh, it's something to marvel at. He
was being sarcastic, and I tweeted back. I said, yeah,
but you gotta love my commitment though, right, like you
gotta love you gotta love my commitment. And I'm not
I'm on. I'm not on the fence. I'm on one time.
But yeah, because he came out and after the game
started and sat down and her face was like, oh
my god, like Lebron ject. So it's it's cool for
a kids to have that kind of moment. Man, But
weren't you already out there? Why do you have to
(01:47:54):
come walk out after the game has already started with treatment. No,
you weren't getting treat man. Come on now, I gotta
walk outs. Everywody can see me type deal. So whatever
you're good, Yeah, get it out. It's all it all done.
It will never be all done man until he retires,
and then we still have to deal with him forcing
(01:48:16):
his sons down our throat. So it's never gonna be
done for me. I got material for years, I have business.
I got some Super Bowl props for you. Yes, just
to do it. Let's do it. I'm thinking here alright. Look,
we've seen the Eagles offense passing wise, not have big games,
and they've still been able to win. We know that
(01:48:36):
offensively filled off it wants to dominate the scrimmage. Run
the ball right, That's how they get off. For that reason,
I think that Jalen Hurts m VP is not a
great bet, especially when you look at where they got
it priced. What I would look at, my friend, you
can get a J Brown m VP it over fifteen
(01:48:56):
to one right now, or DeVante Smith m v P
at almost thirty to one right now. Look if they
keep throwing the ball like they have Let's say Jalen
Hurts has two hundred fifty yards passing, but a hundred
and fifty of it goes to Davante Smith or A J.
Brown with two touchdowns, and the Eagles win the game.
The winners of the m v P is coming from
the winning team. And you're telling me, I could get
(01:49:18):
Jalen Hurts at like close to even or Davante at
thirty to one or a one. That's value. Okay, I
got a really good one for you right here, man,
I I might jump on this right here at plus
nine hundred any play yet any player I like saying
a plus? You like them to one thing? I know,
(01:49:39):
I know, I know. I just like the plus because
to me, it puts into the dollar. I look at
it a dollar value. That's why I do it that way.
Any player that has a past completion, a reception, and
a rushing attempt, and it could happen on both of
these teams. It's the Super Bowl. So you know there's
a trick play, right, you know there's a trick play somewhere.
So a half back ask or a half Philly special
(01:50:02):
type of throw. All you need is one of the
running back or a receiver to be involved in that.
You know they're probably gonna if they haven't pass the
tip then and they complete, Boom, there's there. And if
you want to reverse or even if you throw up
behind the line of scrimmage on the screen, that's a
running play that still counts as like a handoff. I
like that a plus, not especially in the game like
this with two offensive minds that were especially Andy Reid
(01:50:23):
and the way he likes to do crazy, uh you know,
crazy kind of trick play. So that's one of the
problems that I looked at that. I like another way
to play that same kind of prop is over two
and a half players to attempt to pass. Will do it?
One more? One more guy, one more? Yeah, I got you.
Here's a special type. Here's one that uh it's it's
a very long shot, now you know what. I'll say
(01:50:45):
that one for the last. Uh, this one. I like
corn when everybody's got one, like gatorade color, it's not
do you do that? I'm over first of all over
on Rihanna length of show, costume changes a number of songs.
I'm all over. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, over. He's got
to kill it. There you go, there, you go. That's
that's my one. But this one about seventeen to one
(01:51:06):
when I got it earlier in the week, is not
down on like maybe thirteen or twelve, but eat a
player to record an octopus, meaning they score the touchdown
and then the two point conversion immediately following. Now, the
last a few times the Eagles have scored post season touchdowns.
At least one time, Nick Sirianni has gone back out
with his offense and the spot. That didn't make sense
(01:51:27):
to go for two. It's like, why would he do.
He's going back out there, brand the offense out there,
try to get them to jump. If they jump, if
Kansas City jumps, then it's almost gonna be guaranteed. He's
gonna run the Jalen Hurt sneak. You know for a
fact that Jalen Hurt is gonna score a rushing touchdown
in this game. Okay, So if it boom, there you go.
That's that's one side of it. Now the other side,
(01:51:50):
Travis Kelsey. Couldn't you see him catching touchdown on version
ride afterwards? Absolutely? Boom fifteen to one, put it in
the bank. Absolutely, Okay. I like this one because of
the rushing of Philly, and I really do think they're
gonna control the game, control the ground attack, control the
line of scrimmage. And the Super Bowl records two oh
(01:52:10):
four over on that as a plus twenty five hundred?
Could it be? Miuse? Sanders is the the X factor
that no one is mentioning and talking about. And if
this line is just blowing Kansas City off the line
of scrimmage and creating big holes, and you know they're
going to run the football. I don't think Jalen Hurt
(01:52:32):
will get it. But if there's anybody in this game,
I think you have a shot with Pachenko if the
defense is just aw from Philly, And are you gotta
shot with Miles Sanders. If they can just control the
line of scrimmage and really impose their will on Kansas City,
I think you can see a big Russian game here.
But that plus man with a team that leads the
league in Russian and I'm on rushing attacking football. I
(01:52:54):
like it all right. Look, everybody in America is gonna
be building these crazy long fifty leg parlay Oh yeah,
let me tell you I got a two I got
a two leg parlay cash out more than all of
them Jason and Travis Kelsey just score a touchdown. Nick
Sirianni has mentioned it before. He said he had the
bribe Pelty to come back. He said he had. Nick
Sirianni said he had the bribe Kelsey to come back
(01:53:16):
after last season, and he said he owes him something
to pay it off. Kelsey and and the Kelsey brothers
at Radio Rod making all types of jokes about this.
Where there's smoke, there might just be a little bit
of fire. And that is VJ plus un to one
a ten dollar back, it's just seven thousand back. All right,
I'll give you another one man first touchdown type. I've
(01:53:37):
already mentioned that. I think Philadelphia, I'll go. I'll predict.
I won't say a thing. Philadelphia Eagles will score on
defense tomorrow. If that's the first score, the first touchdown
in the game, there's another plus nine hunter for you
right there, and could come early, could come early on
just my homes, just the intensity, the adrenaline. Myhomes just
(01:53:57):
misread something big place Slight has had a big play
the playoffs yet he hasn't had one yet. He's been
kind of you know, we haven't really seen him a
lot in his playoffs. Maybe tomorrow man in the first quarter,
first or second drive, he jumps in front of one
and takes it to the house. You know who once
did that too once, former Michigan corner Mr. Tylaw for
the New England Patriots. That was the first touchdown scored
(01:54:19):
in that game against the high powered you know uh.
Running Tour was the big greatest show on turf. St.
Louis Rams. We'll have more Super Bowl props and our
picks on the game coming up next. Martin and VJ
Fox Sports Radio. At the ball, wasn't in with his
head at the expression of the theory, No bast game over,
game over, Quit you go, Mark Damis the Sexers beat

Martin and b J coming to you live from the
Tirac dot Com Studios VJ. We were doing a little
proper plosa. Yeah, I love it. Finally got it in
as a Super Bowl props get here. We haven't picked
(01:55:22):
our sides yet totally. Um, I think, now, how's the time. Yeah,
let's do it. Man. You want me to go first,
all right? Man? So when I break this game down,
I think if it comes down to the trenches, think
it comes down to the quarterbacks. And I think there's
gonna be a player that no one's talking about that
makes the plays. Are the guy that we look at
and go, man, they better think they're lucky stars they
had that guy. I think it's gonna be Miles Sanders
(01:55:45):
for the Philadelphia Eagles. I think Jalen Hurts has been
on a tear this year and he's been on a mission.
And Patrick Mahomes, sorry, my man, you go to one
and two and super bowls. Get me the Philadelphia Eagles
them all. And I like thirty one to twenty one.
I like a ten point game here. I think Phillies
defense scores a touchdown and just has Patrick Mahomes a
little off, thinks he makes some plays but just not
(01:56:06):
enough plays. And Andy Reid does not defeat his former
team in the Super Bowl. Super Bowl fifty seven winners.
Give me the Philadelphia Eagles and I will take the over.
Give me the over on the fifty one. I think
I'm being I'm not being fair because I have a
final score prediction of twenty four. But we'll go it's
going to go. Maybe everybody's right everything about that according
(01:56:30):
to you, I don't know everybody is you. You are
the one who consumes all the sports media. I'll let
you tell me what everybody's like. Everybody in y'all, yes,
I say everybody, You all a lot. But anyway, I
think this total will end up taking up a little
bit over fifty one, and I think under it's gonna
end right at fifty one total at twenty seven to
twenty four, and I think the Chiefs go ahead, get
(01:56:52):
the win. We've already seen this line shrink a little bit.
Just it was one and a half. It's been one
and a half for ten days, you know, And now
I'm starting to shrink a little bit to where the
Chiefs are now just a one point dog instead of
getting that extra hook. Um. It probably means it's a
lot of money coming in on Kansas City down the stretch,
which kind of makes sense as you consider mahomes ankle
(01:57:12):
only getting better and only getting better getting treatment or however,
you want to say one thing too, man, I think
happens also in this game too. Is I think there's
gonna be an an exposing somewhere. I know this Kansas
City secondary is young, and they've made some really great
plays man, and they've interception has been playing really well.
But I don't think that they face a passing attack
(01:57:32):
as far as the repertoire that the Philadelphia Eagles are
gonna suit up and put out on the field tomorrow,
and I think it starts to show up mid second
quarter going into halftime, and is the third quarter comes on.
If Philly can run to football and they start working
off a play action, game over. I'm selling you guys,
game over. If they can work off play action and
you try to tell me, these guys got to cover
these receivers one on one and you can't do any
(01:57:55):
type of a me but type defense and schemes to
try to confuse Jalen Hurt. Game over. Conversely, I do
think if the Eagles all right fall early, they haven't
really built. They're not built to come back. They're not
built to come back to take on a fourteen point deficit,
twenty one point deficit in the first half and come there.
If they have, it'll be the first time that it
all year. So when you say fall down, give me
(01:58:17):
give me a spread, because a lot of people have
hit me this this week. Way Well, VJ, think about
Philly goes down fourteen. I'm like, Okay, they go down fourteen, Yeah,
they could be in trouble, but they're going down ten.
That's not game. So let's go down and do you
think they could be in trouble. Give me, give me
a point apart. Then they go down three possessions, right,
So if you don't end up going down, well, I
mean we sat here and watched the playoff game in
which I bet on the Jaguards to come back and
beat the Charges. They were down twenty seven points. You
(01:58:39):
know what I'm saying. That's what I'm that's I said
it was over. Yeah, so I would Trevor Lawrence. Yeah,
so I'm saying So I'm not I don't even been
to bring that. I'm just saying, like that gang was
in question, I think that if we see a margin
like that in Instroaper Bowl. We're gonna the Eagles will
be in everything like Kansas seven to twenty four and
I got Philly alright. Either way, I'm hoping for a
(01:59:02):
great game because that's all we could ask for the
last game of the year. It's not fair, Martin the VJ,
Fox Sports Radio
