My guy, it's good to see you. Good to hear

(00:22):
from you as I'm sitting here in Las Vegas, Nevada,
as the first season of the first team in the
NFL will be going home soon as the Las Vegas
Raiders are putting a ramp on the season. Doesn't look
like they're gonna cover the eight and a half either.
Jared Stidham out there with Steve Seger just said at
one interception, one fumble, not necessarily looking like he did

(00:44):
last week against the San Francisco forty nine. Is one
of the better defenses in the league. Kens City Chiefs
obviously not one of those better defenses. However, winning this
game and likely about the end the Raider season. Yeah, ready, season,
We're happy to new year. Everybody y'all there and Fox
Sports Readio listening. Have you know your brother? Are you
doing man, I'm doing well. I think we're past the
happy New Year thing. You just say hi. Naw, there

(01:05):
you're go telling me how to talk again. I want
to tell people happy New Year because I haven't talked
to our fans and all our illustrious listeners since the
New Year. So I'm telling everybody listen, man, don't I
gotta say this though. The New Year's got great branding.
It's really got great branding. You imagine if imagine if
we did this on January thirty one, because you're moving
the calendar to February. Are you did it on March
thirty one? You were like, happy April everybody. Well, people

(01:28):
say happy Monday, Happy Friday. People do that all the time.
Happy Monday. Got happy Friday? Anybody who's happy about Mondays? Yeah?
Well no, it's it's just it's trying to pass some
positivity and love to Monday because so many people hate it,
as I try to do. But happy New Year, everybody, man.
And on the radar season, yeah, it's a right man.
New Seasons over. You're out there in Vegas right now.
Chiefs take care of business. As many predicted that they

(01:50):
probably will say wrap up the number one see, which
we'll get into more in the show later, because it
really doesn't matter if they have the number one seed
only for the divisional round, because positively in the first
round by depending upon NFL Shake saw this out there, man.
But as for the Raiders, I would probably throw a
question back to you, where that where that? Where the
hell do they go? Man? I mean, this whole thing
with Derek Carr story comes out that they thought in

(02:10):
week three or four. It is now leaked that in
week three or four they thought, you know, they knew
Derek car is not the guy, so they pretty much
played all year knowing this. I mean, if you're the Raiders,
where do you even begin to go? Being that the
owner David said he's not firing. Josh mcdanie's. Yeah, Josh McDaniels,
I think it's going nowhere too much chagrin of many people,
especially Danny g I know, who's producing the show right

(02:32):
before us, but the Raiders fan over there. But I'd say, man, like,
right now, you just gotta sit with what you got. Right.
If I'll move on from Derek Carr, obviously you probably
get some type of check and the the third round pick
out of there. I hear the rumors talking about they
want to go get Brady and this and that, Like
I mean, well, well, I'm saying that they can't do anything.

(02:54):
Tom Brady calls the game to that tomorrow, you know
what I'm saying. So it's like that's why I said
they're rumors. It's not as act like you know, but
I get what you're saying. But in any event, the reports,
I should say, but um, but yeah, I mean like, okay, cool,
good luck, you know, Like I mean, I just don't see.
Are you looking at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this year
and I would as I'm saying, Tom Brady didn't hold

(03:14):
them back, right, I think, but he's a league average
quarterback at this point who you're terrified of and the
two minute four minute drill, right, So you're gonna have
him come here? And I mean, you're not gonna have
Josh Jacobs, who's led the league in rushing, right, And uh,
I mean I guess you know they pay Josh Jacobs
is a free agent to share to keep them. I don't.
I don't. As as sick as it is, this this
business study the NFL makes me feel like the guy

(03:36):
had seventeen hundred rushing yards this year and they're gonna
be like, so I'm supposed to pay you what now? Right? Like,
I mean that's the market. Yeah, of course, I mean
I know, but I just and the way that this
Raiders team has been moving in terms of sacrificing sacred cows,
I'd say, in terms like a Derek Carr, who's been
the starter since you know, he's one of the longest
tenure starters in the NFL. Right, so I did it
to to take him out? It is clearly you know,

(03:59):
they're like, hey, it's a new a new attitude and
a new energy in this league. But I do think
Josh Jacobs, who, by the way, did you see this, Uh,
Josh Jacob's son saw his dad was not feeling well.
I'm sorry, his grandfather was not feeling well. Call nine one.
His dad had heart failure, ended up having heart surgery
on Wednesday. Josh Jacobs was by his bedside. Uh, you

(04:21):
know all weekend, I mean all week rather and then
really flew back to Vegas to play this game, and
I imagine its headed back to Tulsa after this. Yeah,
crazy story, man, But you know good good looking out
on the kid on the young buck there man to
save grandpa, good luck on the young buckaroo. Somebody's teaching
something and somebody's paying attention. So I always like to
hear stories like that when people of a younger age, kids, teenagers,

(04:42):
even early twenties, like goes into action like freeze. Yeah,
they don't freeze exactly, they don't freeze, but they've been
taught what to do, like they've paid attention somewhere along
the lines. Because we just saw that almost save a
man's life, not almost did save a man's life in
a national football game. Somebody knew how to react right
then and there, and those seconds are precious. So shout

(05:04):
out to the shout out to that young man. In
prayers to the Jacob's family. Uh, Jacob's running football today
for the Raiders and his dad, the grandfather. Miss I'm
assuming Mr Jacob's prayers to you guys, and I'll say recovery, sir.
And you know what, And to that point, you just
made the mention of Damar Hamlin, who earlier today put
an Instagram post out on Twitter quote, when you put
out real love into the world, that comes back to
you three times as much. The love has been overwhelming,

(05:26):
and I'm thankful for every single person to pray for
me and reached out. If you know me, this is
only gonna make me stronger, he says, on a long road,
keep praying for me. Obviously, Monday night was a terrifying
thing to watch live. Um, and the idea that Demark
Hamlin is now on the road to recovery is uh,
one that we weren't sure of. It is gonna happen
on Monday. And now that it is Saturday, and you know,

(05:47):
time has passed, he seems to be doing much better
as he's communicating and and uh, you know, the first
question was did we win the game? So I think
this like I think it was the ultimate Uh, it
was a long time coming, but it was the ultimate
thumbs up. You know that when the guy is hurt
and you know he gives the thumbs up, He's like,
all right, I'm gonna be all right going forward. This

(06:08):
is probably the most ultimate thumbs up that one could get.
And I remember the very first thumbs up. I think
you might have been living in Michigan at the time,
wasn't it a Detroit Lions player that was being willed
off of a field I wasn't maybe in the early nineties,
late eighties, early nineties, and gave the thumbs up, and
that kind of started that trend of guy saying, I
am okay, everybody. Everybody can relax. They're gonna take me

(06:29):
back here, do what they do, do the medical stuff.
Everybody just pray for me. And and speaking of the
Buffalo bills, just entire situation. Prayer works, man. That's why
I preach prayer, and I preach positivity and love. Prayer
and positively love will always went out. There were a
lot of people, as he said, praying for him, all
of us in the radio industry, even fans of other teams.
When I'm a big Dolphin fan and I'm attached to

(06:50):
a lot of Dolphin accounts on Twitter and Instagram and stuff.
We were all, like, you know, prayers out the bills, mafia,
buffalo bills, that young man, his entire family, like we
everybody jumped in important on this woman. And I think
that with the quick reaction of the trainer on the field,
which we'll get into an Uncle Vj's corner, Uh, pretty
much help that man be able to live. And like

(07:11):
you said, he wakes up and his first question is
did we win the game? Like that's man, if you
if you don't get a little TEI E or a
little goose bump y off of that, check your pulse.
I mean, it's it's ultimately the football guy move of
the year right there, the definition of it. I believe
that it might have been Reggie Brown who was carted,
was partially I mean temporarily paralyzed. Yeah, okay playing this game,

(07:32):
and later on that day Barry Sanders rush for two
thousand yards in the season there, So I got it.
So it wasn't lines. That's what I felt like, I said,
I remember living back in Virginia and watching that game
live and and the thole thumbs up, and it's like, oh,
it's okay, like you said it be. It's become the
symbol now of hey, I'm all right, you guys, just
pray for me, and uh, we'll see what the medical
team and what God says from here. Absolutely, but the NFL, obviously,

(07:54):
the business keeps moving as um and this Bill's Bengals
game one of the ones that we were I mean,
I don't know what the numbers were, but I asked
I had to guess over twenty five million people were
tuned in on that thing, and it was going off
to a big start with you know, uh Burrow came
down was just looking, uh like he was just unbothered
with the Bills defense on the first drive. Then you

(08:14):
see Josh Allen and the Bills come out, Stefan Diggs
is running over linebackers and and then you know, obviously
the game was suspended and will not continue. However, there
was a lot on the line in that game, and
it seems as if now the NFL has decided basically
it will be head their tails to determine all the
things that were at play in that game. Yeah, and

(08:35):
if I could just on the Bengals really quick, and
I won't even speak on that game because I don't
think any part of that game should be football talked about.
We we found out out in a few cases this
past week. But the Bengals they look like they're hitting
their stride. If there's a team in the a f
C that I would be afraid to play no matter
where it is, it's the Bengals. And that's because of
Joe Burrow. Yeah, Yeah, it's because of Joe Burrow and
it's because he's got Jamaar Chase back, and and I

(08:57):
wasn't totally sold. I know they went to the Super
Bow all that year and all of that. That's fine,
But I've seen a bunch of teams in my lifetime
have a run, go to the super Bowl, and then
their average mediocre for the next decade. I've seen it
way too many times to jump on one, but I
will say this about Joe Burrow. This kid, Look, he's
got the goods. He's the goods. He's the ten year
quarterback there. He'll probably take him to another super Bowl.

(09:19):
But they're always gonna be viable. Now, Joe Mixing being hurt,
I think really hurt that offense this year, and I
think that's something that needs to be corrected within the
running game. But when you got him throwing the boy
Higgins and Jamaar Chases even that's the top five dude
spread out to the wide you know, white out. And
the thing that's really crazy about the Bengals skill positions, right, yeah,

(09:41):
because you have a guy and Joe Mixing win healthy
is probably a top six seven running back right exactly
like a guy who was pushing I mean up there
with Josh Jacobs in terms of like just output. Yeah,
then you got Tee Higgins, who was a number one
receiver on fifteen teams in the league. You know what.
Then you got Jamar Chase, who's a top five receiver,

(10:03):
and you know, just and just you know, I mean,
I think, first of all, think about the madness that
was an l s U. Jamaar Chase, Justin Jefferson, Oh
my good, Terence Marshall, Terence Marshall. How did that team
not win every single everything that's a receiver position? And
there you gotta remember Clade's Hilaire, Uh, Clade's Edward Hilaire
was coming off at that squad also too, So I
mean the skill positions on that team. And Joe burrow

(10:25):
Man like I'm I'm being pulled in, Like, okay, Joe,
let me see what. But over here, I'm gonna stand
on my I'm gonna staying on my soap. But they
better go into the playoffs. I gotta at least see
them getting to the conference championship game. If they're losing
a wild car to the Division A round, I'll go okay.
So they're a wild carter Division A contending type team,
That's how I'll view them until they go back to

(10:48):
another super Bowl, because now you're regressing. I know it's
only one year, but you are regressing a division in
the Our wild card is not the conference championship game
and it's not the super Bowl, which you win previous too.
So I I just want to say that about the
Baggers as far as the way the NFL is handling
the decision about the coin toss in the game. Look, man,
the NFL always tell people they're the biggest they're the
biggest nice bully on the block. They're gonna do what

(11:10):
they want to do, regardless of the outcry and the
outpour from certain things there. They are a business and
they're going to run as a business into them. They're like,
all right, man, we'll coin flip because we don't really
feel like hearing everybody, you know, pistmon and cry about
who got this and who got that, and we're not
we can't finish this game. There's no reason to go
back and play the game. Fine, everybody agrees with that decision,
but how else do you want us to do this?
It's uneven game, So we're just gonna have to do it.

(11:32):
If you three the Bengals. The Bills are the Chiefs
meeting the playoffs, are meeting conference championship game. We're gonna
coin flip, and then we're gonna have it at a
neutral site. And I don't have a big problem with him. Man,
I know, Indianapolis is the name Martin that keeps getting
thrown up. How much rather you love football indoors? So
it takes it out of the cold, takes out of
the elements, and gives us a conference championship game indoors.
I don't have the biggest problem about it that I've

(11:54):
heard other people have. I don't have a shingle problem
with this. And if I'm the Bengals, shut the hell up.
He was, first of all, Like, first of all, I
understand that this is not right. And you probably are
walking in that game Cincinnati first, Buffalo. You think you're
gonna win it. Okay, I understand it. But guess what.
It didn't happen, All right, it didn't. You didn't play
the day on game. But you know what you did

(12:14):
last year? You waited as a wild card, went on
the road one four one four playoff games, and you
went to the Super Bowl. So I mean you just got.
I mean, you got crowned the a f C North champion, right,
You didn't have to go out and earn that, and
so to speak, right, you just got crowned the ANFC
North championship, And like I understand that you feel that, man,

(12:36):
we got cheated out of this year. That but you
could have went out there and got your head kicked
in Monday night and lost to Buffalo, and then you
could go out there and lose the Baltimore and then
guess what, you're like the sixth seed in the a
f C. Take the two or three seed that you're
going to have, and just be good with it. Because
nobody's like, there's no right way to do this, because
the right way to have done it would have been

(12:57):
to play the game right now. Obviously that was not
on the table, you know what I'm saying. So if
that's not on the table, nobody's going to be satisfied
with the remainder of what is going to happen. This
is all a level of compromise and as far as
I can see it, this field as fair as can be. Yeah,

(13:17):
when you and also to it football and I don't
and I leave it on this man, you you have
to go on the road to win big games. If
you're a continuing team, at some point you have to
go on the road improve it. You've already done it,
so it's nothing to really overly complain about. Zach Taylor,
head coach of the Sincinnati Bengals, who was very open
and adamant about it and uh and criticizing the NFL

(13:38):
about its league a little bush league, a little bush league,
Like I'm sorry, my my attitude is all right, it
don't matter where we play, bro lace them up, buckle
the chinze, traps, trap on the show the pads, and
let's go. Like that's really truly my men telling I
don't care where the game is, all right, cool, coin
flip whatever. If it's indoors, fine, we're not playing the
elements now. Now it's even now whether it's the Bills
or the Cheese, the Bengals going to an indoor AFC

(14:00):
Championship game, Bro, I might take the Bengals like indoors,
no weather with those weapons in borrow. I don't know,
We'll see how it plays out, but that's where I
would you know, I wanted to play the game, what
you know, where I want them to play the game
where man watching Penn State play in that rolls ball
could you imagine and AFC Divisional round as the sun

(14:24):
is coming over the mountains in the granddaddy of them all, Baby,
come on, comes right there. It's right there for I know,
but it's been a monsoon out here for like the
last ten days. It's like the first day and a
half of the rain. And we would just get caught
possibly in having a monsoon. And now you got the
sloppy rolls ball rain game. I mean, loosen, it's a
million dollar stadium. Figure out the field. That's all I said.

(14:47):
I want that view of the sun coming across one
more time before football season is over. I just I can't.
I just I just need it. I need that one.
And you know what, it should be good weather in
l A. Even if it is raining just a little bit.
So be like whether that will impact the game in
that way. But you know it's impacting the game right now.
Chad Henny is in Mr Good Chad Henny, the Ultimate

(15:10):
Insurance Policy. Chad Henny is driving, is driving the Kansas
City Chiefs down the down the field now now, VJ.
Just so you know, I'm a little behind here as
I'm watching this on a computer screen, so I don't
have the TV up. So if something in crazy happens,
like a pick six or something like that, you'll have
to tell me. I will never let you know. But
I don't. I don't anticipate that they have the ball now.
They just gotta turn over from the Raiders. They have

(15:31):
the ball now and they're driving. They just called the time.
It looks like under like four minutes left. They're going
this game. This this, this should be rap the two
fifteen left in the fourth and it should be wrapped up. Yeah,
you gotta love Chad Henny the ultimate insurance policy. Are
you sure it's not Gardner? Mitch? You missed their best
backup in the league. That doesn't change effect. He's best
backup in the league. I mean, I mean, there's thirty
three quarterbacks better than him. Pal, But if you need

Martin and VJ coming to you live from the Direct
dot Com Studios VJ. The players are kneeling in the

(16:59):
middle of the field saying they're good bye prayers. The
fans in Vegas are leaving Allegiance Stadium somberly as the
Raiders season is over and they are the first team
to go on vacation as week A team gets kicked off.
Now we have the Jaguars and the Titans coming up next,
and uh, I'm excited for that one, Buddy, I am

(17:20):
excited for that one and nothing more so. I just
want to see what Josh Dobbs is gonna do. He played. Look,
he played decently well against the Cowboys in a game
where they lost by fourteen. I don't understand what Mike
Rabel was doing at the end of that thing, like,
you know, you could go win, you you don't have
to just sit on the ball. But anyway, I'm excited

(17:41):
to see if this uh, if this plan works, because
I don't think it's going to No, it's not going
to Hi, man, this is all the Jaguars. This is
why I'm so excited, because we're finally seeing what we
thought Trevor Lawrence was gonna be. And Doug Peterson. You
talk about a man that can just flat out coach
that picks. Get imagine. Look not even imagining if to magic,

(18:02):
because it happened. Look where this team was three hundred
and sixty five days ago. Look where this team was,
and look where they're all there on they're on they're
on the cusp of winning the division. Okay, from in
the division where people thought they finished probably third, right
behind the Colts and behind and behind the Titans. They
can win the division and their number one overall pick
who people were kind of questioning. But we're starting to see, man,

(18:24):
it was just it was a cluster. You know what
last year. This year, he's got a coach, they got
a system, he's got weapons. Man, this this could be
the start of something of a nice little run. Remember,
we've seen Jacksonville in the history of the NFL have
these a weird nine and seven years and get a
run going into playoffs and end up in an f
C championship game. We saw Mark Brunelle do it with

(18:45):
Keena Macarto and Jimmy Smith and Fred Taylor. Tony was
selling and the guys like that back in the day.
For this franchise, this that's why I'm excited, because I
think it's a franchise where it's not a big sports town,
but it's a franchise. When they're good, they do get support,
and I think they have that now, especially when you
talk about a franchise quarterback in a franchise head coach. Man,
that's what makes me excited. The flip side the Titans
are going on the down slide, that Raybel's gonna be

(19:06):
out of there in the next year and a half
or so. Maybe maybe, yeah he will. By who's the
Titans fired and the tightest firing because let me tell
you why? Then let me let me let me tell
you why. And this is your boy, and this is
a guy I'm giving a lot of credit to lately
who I was bashed early in the year, coach Sala
from the Jets and this press conference when he referenced,

(19:26):
we do live in a micael wave society, and we
see coaches getting fired after a year or two. Now
it's it's not if the coaches are getting five six
years of their full contract to really prove themselves, get
their system, and get their players and get their their
their philosophies downpack where everybody could do it in their sleep.
It takes a while to do that, Martin, And coaches

(19:47):
are getting fired. How long has ray We've been there
already four or five years, you know what I'm saying,
Like they go, they go nine and eight again next year, Yeah,
he's out the door, especially if some hot college coach
name comes available again and and wants to come back
to the NFL wants to take a leap to the
NFL or something hot young coordinator, you know, Damiko Ryans
is the name that's out there right now. You don't
think he would be a kid for a job like
that after next year if they were to go nine

(20:08):
and eight. It's because the quarterback situation is not satisfied,
it's not solidified there. They have quarterback issues there. When
we have quarterback issues in the NFL, it's gonna cost coaches.
It's gonna cost coaches their job. Yeah, the five years
that Mike Rabel has been the Titans head coach, this
is the first year, well, let's just say the second
year that uh well, first year who finished with a
losing record, but also the second year he may miss

(20:30):
the playoffs. He missed the playoffs, win nine and seven
in his first year, finished third in the a f
C South. What was going on in the a f
C South of that year to finished nine and seven
and go third, especially when you consider, uh, you know what,
you know what that was? That was DeShawn Watch. Wasn't
that the twelve and four d Watch year? Yes, that
was DeShawn There you go, that would have been the

(20:52):
one um but yeah, I mean I saw it. I
mean even in the ANFC championship game. Obviously lost in
the wild card in the divisional round last year to Cincinnati,
But I I would be shocked to see Mike Vrabel,
uh not without without a without a head coaching job
in Tennessee, especially when you think of all these some
of the other moves that they've already made in terms
of firing the general manager throughout the course of the year. Um,

(21:14):
I just I think, man, when you look at some
of the roster and I know that Melik Willis is
your guy, but uh, you know you you you said,
you know, hold on hoping. I'm holding I'm hoping, buddy.
But you know, the idea that Josh Dobbs is even
coming in here and to play right now is kind
of a indicative of the Titans personnel issues more than anything.
I think that when you look at a guy like Vrabel,

(21:36):
he's kind of getting by with what he's got. And
I hear you with the Microwave Society type of deal.
But when you fired the GM mid season, I think that,
uh that that either said says something to me. But
listen that you're saying it right there. They fired the
GM in mid season. So who would be next? If
they go seven intend this year, if they lose the
nights at the seven to night, and if they lose
the night they would go seven intend this year. And

(21:58):
let's just say they go nine and eight next year,
who's next? The head coach? The head coaches next? So
I said, I said it. I said about a year,
year and a half. I think he's fine for next year.
They're not gonna fire him now. But after next season,
going into twenty four, if they don't make the playoffs
and they finished nine and seven or below five, Hunter,
he is gone. He is absolutely gone. Speaking of coaches

(22:20):
that may be gone, did you happened a sheet of
news that came out about two hours ago? No, hit me,
hit me, hit me, hit me. If the Cardinals fire
Cliff Kingsbury, defensive cortinat advanced, Joseph would be a lead
candidate to replace him. I like that movie man black
Man getting another head coaching job. But the thing is,
he's now, if he gets it, he's gotta do better, okay,

(22:41):
because he had the opportunity in Miami, and he had
opportunity and did for like you know, well, we pulled
for the brothers to get the job. But when you
get him, dog like, you gotta help us on this side,
like we're chatting in Pop pop pushing for you. So
when you get the job, you gotta you gotta hold
your end up too, man, so we don't look like
one like fools on this back in man. But yeah
say that though in an aging defense right with the J. J.

(23:02):
Watt to the world, you have Patrick Pieces in there
for a couple of a year a while. Rather he's
not there anymore obviously, but had him there for a while.
Bait shows, especially when you think about, you know, the
complimentary football and the amount of like non sustainable drives
at the Cardinals offense goes on, he's done, he's done
a really good job call on that defense. No, he
has he is, he's done a really good job calling
the defense. And I was gonna look up and see

(23:24):
exactly where they're where they're located, because they're not. It's
the offense that has problems moving the ball and putting
the ball in the ends on and then they always
have to play from behind their middle of the pack. Man,
they're sitting around like eighteen nineteen and defense I believe,
but it's because they're on the field so long. Because
the offense for the Cardinals moved to football, it can't
score it. Eventually, you're just gonna get warned. Un But
they have some young pieces and young players they've drafted.

(23:46):
The kid's name is Kipping my mind, a linebacker from
Tulsa as an animal and um and and Buddha Baker
is one of the best pier safeties cover support the
run and all and and all of football. So they
have some pieces there. If he gets the job there,
then now what are you doing with the offensive coordinator
position for Kyler Murray? See there's the there's the issue
with defensive guys getting the job. And I didn't like

(24:07):
that narrative about two years ago when it really became
popular when people start to really look across the league
and go, yeah, you want these guys to get opportunities.
But these defensive stout head coaches, if they don't have
a guru at the offensive coordinator position to lock in
with the quarterback, their average or they're just not successful,
they're fired within two to three years. So if you
give Vans that job, you have to now sell me on. Okay,

(24:29):
what do you do with the offense coordinate position, because
Vance can't connect with Kyler Murray at all, So you
gotta get a guy in here. I think that would
be a reason why he wouldn't get the job. I
think if you if you fire our Cliff, your boy
Cliff walks away, then you gotta bring offensive guy in
for Kyler. Yeah. The thing about when I look across
the league you're talking and the guy you're talking about
was Davin Collins, by the way, the one Colley. But

(24:51):
when I across when I look across this league and
I see like so many just prolific arms, I just
don't understand the logical of you know, maybe we should
try to have somebody who can defend against everybody else,
because you know what I mean, do you do the
Cardinals have a guy and Kyler Murray, even win fully healthy,
that can win the Super Bowl? Like I'm not sure,

(25:11):
Like and I think a lot of people will probably
say no to that. But you know, and and you know,
I think it's a unique talent obviously, but you're right
in terms of finding somebody that can vibe with him.
But but like, haven't we seen this enough? I would
much rather have an head coach who was going to
be a manager of the offensive coordinator and the defensive
coordinator and the special teams coordinator. A guy who has

(25:33):
his hands in every little in every pot, as opposed
to just like the Cliff Kingsberry Matt Laflour style of
hey man, you guys handle everything else, I'm gonna handle
the offense, because it seems to me that that is
not the best way to go about it. We'll speaking
ahead of coaches. Some breaking news right here. I don't
know if you see it up on ESPN UM. They've
just announced that Sean mcveigh's future is now in limbo

(25:57):
as the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams. So
there's another coach that maybe on his way out. During
you and I talked about that. I think back to
back weeks that he has been hinting away of going
to do some TV and some other things now that
he's got his reign, and that Sean Payton is sitting
right here in Los Angeles working on Fox Sports one, uh,
sitting on Collins couch and sitting at other places and

(26:19):
sometimes up in boots, you know, talking football. Here. There
there's your replacement, a guy that wants warm weather. Guy
that wants to play a lot of golf, wants his
own young quarterback. Maybe he feels like he could do
something with Baker. Maybe he does. Just go get his
own guy. Don't know how you do it because you've
got no draft picks to getting the guy in to college.
It's gotta be somebody that's already in NFL. But also
just to deliver that to you right now, man, So yeah,
types of news with Sean Hayden apparently having interviews with

(26:41):
the Denver, Sean McVeigh apparently maybe hanging him up or
moving around or whatever. But for that news and more,
let's go to Steve de Seger. Steve, what else is
trending in the world of sports? My friend? We got
one more NFL game coming up tonight, eight pm Eastern kickoff.
Jacksonville winners of four straight, hosting a Tennessee, Tennessee team
that's lost six in a row. Tonight's winner takes the

(27:02):
a f C South title. Kansas City has won thirty
one thirteen at Las Vegas, the Raiders finished six and eleven.
The Chiefs at fourteen and three, clinched the number one
seed in the a f C clinched the by for
next weekend. Now, if the Bills win tomorrow, that potential
Casey Buffalo a f C championship would be at a
neutral site, but the Chiefs of the one seed, if

(27:23):
they play anybody else, that game would be in Kansas
City and more domination within the division for the Chiefs.
Their record against the a f C West with Mahomes
twenty seven and three, undefeated on the road. That's all
Casey thirty one thirteen the final. The other NFL news
at Philadelphia, quarterback Jalen Hurts, after a strange shoulder, is

(27:46):
expected to play tomorrow. Hurts was limited in practice this week.
The Giants, the six seed in the NFC, will start
quarterback Davis Webb tomorrow. The Eagles can clinch the one
seed in a first round by with a win against
the Giants. The Saints gave the Broncos per to interview
coach Sean Payton, who is still under contract with New Orleans,
who a team would have to trade for him. TCU

(28:07):
star running back Kendrew Miller sprained mcl says he's questionable
for Monday nights National Championship game, when TCU faces number
one ranked and undefeated Georgia. As for the NBA games
in progress, well one is underway. The Celtics only lead
mid third quarter seventy six seventy two at San Antonio.
In college hoops, Washington State with a huge upset at

(28:28):
number five Arizona seventy four sixty one. Washington State was
one and four in conference until this win. EH rank
Tennessee a winner eighty five forty two at South Carolina,
Illinois at home beat number fourteen Wisconsin seventy nine sixty nine,
sixteenth rank Dukes survived at Boston College sixty five sixty four.

(28:49):
Seventh ranked Alabama, to say the least, pulled away from
Kentucky seventy eight fifty to the final and number four
Yukon wins again sixty nine sixty against Creighton Bay. Here,
thanks Steve Martin and VJ. Coming to your life from
the tirack dot com studios. About what is a thirty
five forty five minutes until we kick off the Jaguars

(29:09):
and the Titans game that we just talked about a
little bit. Let's talk about the Jaguar side of it
a little bit, because VJ you you alluded to it.
The a f C bro, you got my Home, you
got Justin Herbert, you got Josh Allen, you got Joe Burrow.
I'm going in no particular order right and when I'm
going through this list, Trevor Lawrence, I said it before,

(29:32):
He's had his best three games of this of his
career in like back to back to back weeks this season,
and it looks like, at least at minimum, we have
seen the floor of what Trevor Lawrence can be. And
going forward, the the ceiling seems to rise and rise
and rise. There's there's no mistake in why this kid

(29:54):
wasn't touted as uh Andrew Luck or a John Elway
type prospect coming out. All right, Nike Spark had him
at a one point zero, which is a perfect score,
which they gave the guys like Javanny and Clowney. I
think Rashaan Gary was another one. I got a score
like that. Justin Fields was like all the way down.
They just couldn't give him that last decimal point. But there,

(30:17):
it's starting to show why he was that kid. It's
starting to show him when he went to Clips and
he just took over as a freshman and went won
a national championship blowing through the competition and putting up
crazy numbers. And now when you look at what he's
done this year, he's added to his passing yards, he's
cut his interceptions as half, he's doubled his touchdown passes.
He's almost he's kissing four thousand yards, right, He's at
thirty thirty nine something like that. He's kissing four grand.

(30:39):
You think he gets that tonight, right this kid? Man,
I'm telling you, I'm starting to lean in a little bit,
like okay, and I agree with you, man, This a
f C thing is loaded with quarterbacks, and if two
of didn't have the concussions, you could throw to his
name in there like there there's so many in the
a f C right now, But you gotta have one
to have a shot. I don't think Martin, in my
lifetime of watching football, there was ever a time, our

(31:02):
period or error where if you don't have a stud
I did just not a story in court. No a
stud dude. Okay, And we know we talked about we
say a stud quarterback, you have zero shot at winning
the Super Bowl. Zero. I mean you have no chance
at it. Look at the a f C West playoff picture.
I mean, look at the ANC playoff pictures. Just look
at the teams that have won the division, right, Okay, Cincinnati,

(31:24):
Joe Burrow, Buffalo, you know what I'm saying. Josh Allen, Okay,
Kansas City got the m v P. Patrick Mahomes. You
know what it's like. I mean the charge, I mean
have to charges and win their division yet. But you
know what I'm saying, in the playoffs, so you gotta
go against Justin Herbert and then you look. Okay, let
me tell you who sounds more appealing out of this. Okay,
you got some combination of Snoop Huntley or Anthony Brown,

(31:47):
Mac Jones and Bailey's happy Trevor Lawrence, right, like, those
are your remaining you know three kind of you know,
those are the teams that were really looking at in
terms of teams that can probably make noise in this thing,
you know what I'm saying, Like and make noise in
this AFC tournament like and then and then, Hell, if
you're a Steelers fan, you probably feel pretty good about
Kenny Pickett leading a game with last week. Hey, I've

(32:07):
been on them. That's the rookie I liked all year. Man,
I've been preaching all year. You should have been a
starter since day one. You know. So Funny Moore is
is we we don't even want to give kids a
chance to grow anymore. We don't even want to give
quarterbacks a shot. You gotta come in the league and
you gotta do it right away. And I know there's
a Patrick Mahomes, There's a Payton Manning, there's a Damn Marino.

(32:27):
I I get that everybody ain't them, though everybody's not.
We don't. If that was so easy for everybody to do,
we'd have way more better quarterbacks in the league. You
know what I'm saying, Like quarterback is a fragile posiness.
There's a cool stat I found, do you know, Mary,
that there's only been twelve teams this year that have
not had to change their quarterback bro only twelve Dog twelve.

(32:49):
So if you don't have a stud again, you have zero.
You gotta go to your backup guys for three or
four or five games. I swear you better have a
top defense and you better have a running back that
could just told it for you from Sunday to Sunday.
Because the thing you better be is the San Francisco
for Yeah, top rank defense and a running back that
gets hold it. But that that's the that's that's the message, right,

(33:12):
you know what I'm saying. But that's the vision. That
to me, that's the vision. If you like, if you
don't have one of those cyber works at quarterback, then
you gotta have one hell of a football team around
your buddy, because good luck. But it doesn't last of
all season, though, Mark. And that's the thing. You can
maybe get do a stretch, but you can't do that
for a whole year, bro, right, yeah, exactly, you can't
do it through a whole year a football Jeesus, I

(33:34):
saw Michael Lombardi tweets I'm stealing it from. It's like
crossing the Atlantic. It takes a long time. Yeah yeah.
And when you look at it's funny because if you
look at the Atlantic on the map, you're like, okay,
if like now, then go take a flight to Europe.
And when you hear seventeen, well hold up, hold up?
How long is the flight? Fifteen hours? Bro? We're flying
over the Atlantic. It takes a while. This ain't cross

You ready always, my man, Let's go into Uncle BJ's corner,
my friend. Let's see what you got. All right, everybody
gather round. It's that time of the week, all man,
It's that time of the day. I've been telling y'all. Yes,

(34:39):
it's time for everyone's favorite uncle. And you add the
cherry on the top. It's time for Uncle v J's corner,
your sir, Big Vanilla local VJ and the building once again. Man,
here on Martin and VJ, just sitting over here on
the corner, Big Vanilla in handsome. Y'all come sit down
next to me. Man, I want to tell you all

(34:59):
the lou story about the Vanilla Brother of the week
this week. Man, this was a little sentimental because of
some things that just happened recently in sports. But he's
still displayed the three seeds that it takes to win
Vanilla Brother of the Week. I'm saying story about a
gentleman from Midwest City, Oklahoma. This man started out at
UH Oklahoma State University from ninety six to two thousand

(35:23):
b A and Health and Human Performance. He then went
on to Ohio State from Otoo Afford to get a
Masters and Sports and Exercises. Served served as an assistant
UH trainer on the field hockey team and lacross for
the women. He's got experiences stript training, physical therapy, injury treatment,
exercise philosophy, kinesiology, and sports medicine. Wow, that's knowledgeable man.

(35:47):
Man knows the body. He actually started his first taste
in the NFL in eighteen ninety nine with the Denver
Broncos as an off season and heard they don't even
get paid. Was also an assistant athletic trainer in NFL
Europe for amsterdamn Admirals in two thousand two. I once
tried off for that league back in ninetd back in
Woodbridge for j didn't make it, but yeah, I gotta
try out there anyway. Went on the Syracuse Man to

(36:10):
be the assistant athletic trainer from July oh five the
February two thousand eleven. Then became the head trainer of
the football program there for the Ques from February eleven
to March two thousand seventeen, and that's when he took
his current position as the assistant athletic trainer for the
Buffalo Bills. We all saw the game on Monday night

(36:30):
where Damar Hamlin went down, and as I said, the
three season, as we talked about this story earlier with
Josh Jacob's son, somebody knew how to react. Immediately chess
compressions and CPR minister to Damar Hamlin, which doctors from
University of Cincinnati Medical Center being quoted to say that
saved his life and there would definitely have been a

(36:52):
different outcome. And then you added the fibrillator to it.
And this man is a lobby saved his life. Mr
Denny Chilling to my man, sir, you acted. You saved
the man's life because you knew what to do. You
didn't freeze. You stay calm, you stay cool, and you
stay collected, man, And because of you, this man is

(37:14):
alive today. Sir, you, my friend, are not the vanilla
brother of the week. You, my friend, are the Vanilla
Brother of the Year, and there's nothing that anybody can
do to take that award from you. Congratulations to you
for acting, man, and all the prayers out to you
and your family. Things to you, sir for acting as

(37:34):
fast as you did to help save themar Hamlet's life. Sir,
you are the Vanilla Brother of the Year. Year year. Yeah, yeah,
I say that. I hope that the lasting legacy of
Damar Hamlet and when I happened on Monday night is
that we have more people on the sidelines. Not an
NFL game necessarily, but I mean at the high school

(37:55):
games at the college level, because as we see, this
happens primarily to young group people, probably primarily people who
are hitting the chest with a baseball or a basketball
just in the wrong place at the wrong time. But
you know what, Dr Killington, and you you hearing my boys,
you could be in the right place at the right
time for somebody, if you know you're CPRS, of which

(38:17):
I didn't, but I will be learning shortly. That is
what I had taken from this moment. I'm gonna because
I'm out there, man, you know what I'm saying. I'm
out there with these high school kids all the time.
And I am not trying to have damar Hamlin and
you know the worst case scenario. Yeah, and I I
am also CPR certified because as a security officer, uh
doing security work out here in l A, you have

(38:38):
to be CPR certified. Someone I was working for one company.
They paid for us. You had to go there and
spend a saturday, uh and a Sunday and sat the
class and get certified. Man. So if something goes down
and I'm around, I actually know what they do. And
you know what's funny, Man, I kind of had an idea,
but some of the small things I was taught was like,
oh wow, And if you don't do those things, those
precious those precious seconds and those precious minutes, man, could

(39:00):
be the difference and someone losing their life and someone
being saved. Cardiac arrest is nothing to play around with.
Ladies and gentleman five survival rate in urban areas it
drops down to two ladies and gentlemen. And it's it's
the number one thing. It seems to be that as
soon as you make a quick reaction, you can't wait,
you can't pause, like Josh Jacob's son, You picked up

(39:21):
the phone call nine one one. You gotta make that
call and make it happen. But also in the meanwhile,
like you said, urban areas, if maybe you're not able
to get to that ambulance fast enough, maybe not able
to get to that e MT fast enough, but you
know what, you're there. You're there, so you and everybody
else listening to me. V J. We know you said
you were security flight but but yeah, so I've never

(39:43):
had that job, but I'm figuring it out. So I'm
that is one of am I get back to l A.
It is top of the list to figure out learning
CPR because again I was terrifying and do not want
to be a part of it any further going forward,
coming up next Martin and be J, we will get
into more of the NFL as his Texans. I'm sorry

(40:04):
as this Titans and Jaguars game kicks off and the
rest of the week eighteen Slate VJ, your team burst,
the Jets, the Titans of the Jacks, Ravens, and the
Bengal Siahawks in the Rams. We got all types of
stuff going on around here, Martin and v J. Fox
Sports Radio sticking Stay America. Oh yeah, that's right, and
we're broadcasting live from the ti iraq dot com studios

off his Coming Baby and Nashville, we see Susie coolber
r G three wearing a Damar Hamling jersey like his
two thousand and three and Biggar McFarland down there on
the field as they're getting ready to kick, and he's

(40:48):
got it on backwards like criss crossing, saying like two three,
yeah listen, well no, no, cris cross man. I'm telling
you in two thousands, in the early two thousands, we
were wearing in our jerseys backwards. That was Was that Nelly?
And was that the Lunatics? Was that the lud Okay?
That was the st Lunatics that was doing? Okay, they
brought it back, but yeah, man, he had it on

(41:08):
the backwards just quick sidebar I listened to him call
the game the other day, and I listened to him
call a lot of games, being that he got that
position with Mark Davis over there calling to college football.
Hey man, whatever for people have to say about him
off outside the booth, He's a very entertaining listen, he
really is. He gets it. He's an entertainment listen. I
just want to throw that out there. Well, there you go,
congratulations r G three, and he's an entertaining listen man. Anyway,

(41:30):
I'm my back. No, he seems to at least have
leaned into the media personality. Then exactly, yeah, he's all
the way, and he's all the way. All right. So look,
we got some games on the slate today. Ten have
playoff implications, I should say, on the game tomorrow, because
one today obviously the one to day has massive playoff implications.
But from this on, I mean, the Seahawks could play spoiler.

(41:52):
I mean the Rams could play spoiler to the Seahawks.
I should say the Seahawks could then play spoiler to
the Lions, you know, the Patriots, because boil the bells.
There's a whole bunch of things going on here. Let's
start with Sunday Night football, all right, And Aaron Rodgers
four weeks ago said everybody relaxed, everybody calmed down with
y'all shut up with all of this. The sky is falling.

(42:14):
All we gotta do is win out and get a
little help. Well, I don't know what deal he made
with whatever whatever situation he got going on, because I mean, literally,
Aaron Rodgers needs to be out here throwing dice at
the craft table with the type of luck that the
Packers have had in the last four or five games
to be able to be in this position. But you
know what dog one that they are, Yeah, they are man,

(42:36):
And listen, I don't call him a rod We we
we kind of we kind of imaginary best friends. I
call him discount double check. Ya, that's missed the discount
double check right there. And he told everybody to relax.
But did you see K J. Wright his comments as
far as why this game is scheduled where it is,
as far as hopefully the lines will score, we're watching
and not focusing and it helps the Packers get into

(42:58):
the playoffs. But I you know why you and I
both been back and forth orderlines this year. We want
to hold on and we want to hold hope, and
then we give them open. Then they start one and
six and then they win a bunch of a row
and then they dropped some games. They should They shouldn't
even be in this position. They should already be at
nine or ten wins. They've really just let some games
go to defense is atrocious and they're gonna have to
replace Aaron Glenn. And I like Aaron Glenn, but you
can't give up that mini thirty plus point games as

(43:20):
a defense and keep your job as a defensive coordinator.
But the Packers, man, hey, I think they win this game.
It maybe it maybe because you know, close early, but
I think it's they blow them out. I don't know
if this game is even close. And the Packers are
gonna go to the playoffs, and do you really want
to play discount double check in the playoffs? And and
those young receivers, man, who we criticize the lot rightfully,

(43:43):
so you can see they're starting to come around. Man,
they're starting and once again see microwave society. We didn't
want to give these kids a chance. Aaron didn't even
want to give them a chance. But you gotta play
to be better. You just don't get better just by
stepping on the field. You gotta have repps, you gotta reputation,
you gotta go through certain situations, is a certain things
happening games. No game is a like it's like a snowflake,

(44:03):
it's like a fingerprint. Every game is different, you know
what I mean. So nothing is the same, So you
gotta go through and get some experience. Man. But I
tell you this now, I'll be real. I'm not as
afraid of them in the playoffs because I still think
they have some holes on the defense, even though the
defense is playing better. But Aaron Rodgers has been a
hole in the playoffs. Yeah exactly, yeah, exactly. So I

(44:23):
if they would have to, you know, San Franciso, I
don't think they would go to San Francisco and win.
I don't think they would go to Minnesota. And when
a playoff game, Minnesota is a different football team at
home than they are on the road. So I like
the Packers in this game. And hey, Aaron Rodgers wants
to get told everybody to chill, and everybody thought he
was crazy. Took a lot of flak for whatever t
drinking or are smoking or injecting whatever he's doing in

(44:44):
the off season. And here he is. But here he
is again on the cusp of taking this Packer team
that probably has no business in the playoffs, possibly back
to the playoffs. I like the Packers in this. I'm
assuming you're going with the Packers to really I'm going
with the Detroit What shot Detroit City? Damn them well

(45:04):
d c MC don't let me down. Baby. Look, I
thought this team was gonna be one of the worst
in football. I was wrong, okay, And and then then
they came out twenty nine and nothing against Bailey's Zappy.
Remember that they had Beard mac Jones getting benched in
the Month and Night Football after three plays. After the
way that Bailey's Happy played in that game, they had

(45:24):
people anyone talking about a Microwaves society? How many how
many four Patriot jerseys you think got bought in that
six day period? I think it was Okay, they'll never
see the field there again. I mean more, I mean
unless something terrible has happened, right, you know, And that's
that's pretty much the way that he gets back out there.
But the Lions had him looking like he was the future,

(45:46):
all right, And it's not exactly I mean, so I
would say this, I would feel much better about the
Lions had they not given up almost four hundred rushing
hearts to the count and a panther. You're still upset
about that, You're still hurt that I wouldn't. It's because
it's like, bro, like are you a good team or not?
Are you a good team or not? Do you know
what I'm saying? Like are you a good because a

(46:08):
good team does not go to Carolina and give up
all those rush yards. That's not what a good team does.
And it's like I was, as soon as I'm sitting here,
ready to do it. And you know what, I'm gonna
be furious if they come out there and lay an
egg to the Packers, which we have seen as I'm
not a Lions fan by any stretch, but I covered
the team for like ten years. Okay, this is historically

(46:31):
an ass whooping historically there to the point where Matt
Flynn through like a Packer record of touchdowns in the game,
Matt Flinn and then help them get that Seattle deal
to all of that just to get to Seattle and
get bitched. Right. That's why, that is why Matt Flynn

(46:53):
is a trivia question today because the Lions played the
Packers in Week eight. Team that's it, you know, that's
you don't want to be a trivia answer the idea that,
you know, the idea that the package could go up
and we'll see five lambo leaps by halftime, like wouldn't
shock me, right, But if this Lions team they've been

(47:13):
telling me, vij I'm gonna pull you. They've been telling
me all year. This is not the same old Lions.
They said, this isn't the same old lines, the brand
new Lions. BJ now that so well be at LB
and L brand new lines, and you know what, if
this is the brand new lines, you better go be there.
Rodgers just having one of the worst years of his
career so far and then sneaking into the playoffs. They're

(47:35):
only saving graces. Like I said, I think the game
is close early because Dan Campbell won't allow them. I
don't believe to show up and just flop. They'll be
ready to play. But I just think that being on
the road, the history that they have in that in
that stadium, it's just not good. And those things really
do set in mentally and psychologically to guys that make
millions of dollars to play a game like it happens. Man.

(47:58):
But I will tell you this, they do have one
of the better pass rushes and football, the lines have
all year long. So if they can get the Rodgers
early and and and especially Aidan Hutchinson, who's probably, in
my opinion, should be it's either between Hammer Sauce as rookie.
Don't they give out an NFC don't they get out
of don't give out an NFC rookie defensive player here

(48:21):
and then a f C rookie defensive player to here.
Because if that's the case, then those are the two
guys that are gonna win it. If it's just one,
I would like to see Aidan Hutchinson, of course in
my Michigan's eyes. But if it's if it's Sauce, I I,
even though I think he gets really handy, gets away
with it. He's a good corner. I missed on him.
I didn't think he'd be good. And it's only one year.
But I won't go, oh, I gotta wait till next year.
I'll shake my head at that and go all right,
I can't complay like I give him problem kick play.

(48:43):
We'll see as his career goes on, but right now
I'll be a man and be like yo, all right,
money can play. So if they could get the pass
rush on them, they got a shot. But if they
can't get any pass rush, and if they're running the ball,
they're running a grand as well also running the ball. Well,
this man, that defense gives up over thirty bro, Like
it's it's been horrific. Think Aaron Glenn's unit, and you're
telling me they're gonna go into lambo and somehow stifle

(49:06):
discount double check. In Week eight, team for a playoff, Berth,
I just on national TV. Everybody's watching this, this Packers
team that you're talking about. This, this this Packers team
that is going oh so many points. Look, I get it.
In the last three times out though they played the Rams,
horrible team twenty four points, they played the Dolphins. If
two of us about us out on the ground and

(49:27):
get a concussion in the back half of that game,
and even if we just see him getting pulled for
Teddy Bridgewater, maybe we're not seeing three different turnovers in
the second half of that game in which they lost.
And yeah, okay, they handled the Vikings, but you're telling
me that that was an offensive You know, that wasn't
necessarily the big offensive showing, even though they scored forty

(49:48):
one points. Yeah, the Keyshaw Nixon returning either a kickoff
or a permanentory I think was a punt you had
to pick six. And then you had Kirk Cousins just
completely selling it, like, I mean, let's be honest, like
he played horri boy in that game to the point
that you know your MVP candidate on the roster justin
Jefferson has one catch in the game, you know what's
like to the point like they were getting a lot.

(50:10):
I mean I think a lot that that. Now, don't
get me wrong, Alexander. That's what I'm not gonna take
away from the win for the Packers and j Alexander.
He came out and he said this stuff and came
back with a big hat and said, y'all better watch
all you'll talk about me. So he called out names.
My bad, bro, my bad. You were right. You were
right because when when you were hitting the gritty with

(50:31):
seven minutes and thirty seconds left in the first quarter,
I said, this boy's a fool. And you know what
he told me. He said, nope, you theful, because I'm
gonna go ahead lock this fool up, and he did so.
But ultimately, though, if I'm sitting here thinking about the
Packers as an offensive entity. Right, I don't feel great. Yes,
Christian watching has come on in the second half of

(50:52):
the year, but that's really kind of it in terms
of the receiving Now, he came on like a wrecking ball.
You know what I'm saying. Shout out to my CRUs
but I don't see that their best path to win,
to me, is to run the ball with Aaron Jones
and a J. Dillon and quite honestly take the ball
out of Aaron Rodgers hands. I wonder how much that
happens on something on Monday night, because as we've seen

(51:12):
the Lions, they might just give up two d in
fifty seven yards in the first half to the what
is it? Donte Foreman and to Hubbard. There you go. Now,
I'll take the package of this. So I would like
to see the Lions win this game. I just I
just don't. It's it's too if it was in Detroit,
I picked the lines. But going into Lambeau Sunday night,
everybody's watching it isn't gonna get to get that game
is gonna draw twenty plus million viewers tomorrow night. So

(51:36):
you're pushing probably Okay, Well, I mean it's foot football
is king and I'll tell you what if, uh I
was looking at some of these stats. I think of
the hundred most viewed programs on television last year, football
was eighty eight of them. Yeah, and then like if
you look at the top rated things, it was obviously

(51:57):
the Super Bowl, A championship, NFC championship, Then like the
State of the Union was like sixth, and then you
had the divisional rounds, and then you had the January
six hearings, uh, you know, as reasult of the stormy
of the Capitol. They were hearings from those That was
the top ten. So really it ranked out as most
important football game, you know, lesser of important football games

(52:21):
American politics, then games that are even less important, and
then the potential overthrow football football is king and that's
why people need to stop talking about and trying to
get rid of it or whatever people want to do
with it. Man. Like, honestly, I'm the type of guy listen,
it's like this new thing that just came out and
I saw this week hate watching, like hate watching, like
you watch things you hate? Are you watching our business?

(52:41):
White people watch God's de band on? Watch guys talking
or listening to radio shows day and you go, I
hate that guy. That is the weirdest thing of the
strangest strangest things. I'm the type of person I was
raised this way. If I do not like you, and
I do not want to communicate with you, if I
don't like your product or what you're doing, I will
not watch our drink, our listen, or eat or if
i'd like your restaurant. I'm not just gonna come just

(53:03):
so I can complain about not like in your restaurant.
I'm just not gonna good that's stupid. I'm just not
gonna go to your restaurant. I don't drink coke, so
I'm not gonna go. Well, you know what kind of
hate coke. But man, I'm gonna drink a nice, ice
cold one on this hot summer day just so I
can remind myself how much I don't like like. That's
the weirdest damn thing. Miss. If you don't like football,
real t all, just watch something else. It's okay, So

(53:24):
you don't have to watch it. There are plenty of
people that are gonna continue to watch it. One other game.
I I would love to throw your way. Just a
simple question for you, man, you like backups. I don't
you like backups? I don't. There's not a backup in
the league. I like them dead serious. There's not one
backup quarterback in the league. I like. I don't like
backup the concept of I like back. No, Now you
do like back you you like back ups? Okay, do

(53:45):
you have any faith and Skyler Thompson and my Dolphins
against him bum mass chats tomorrow? You know yes you
do because here's how. Because the Jets are starting Joe Flacco.
Joel was my guy man. I was like that, dude,
what is Joe Flacca? When his last ten starts? Like,
I mean, like seriously, like what is? What is? What is?

(54:09):
But I mean it's because it's it's it's not great,
Like it's not great. And the Jets offense, I think
that they have I think that's over. I think ye yeah.
When when they lost Breeze Hall, it was huge. Man.
My my, my, my only, my only saving grace for
tomorrow as simple as this with Skyler Thompson starting a
six or seventh round rookie quarterback. And I watched the
Mcansas State so it's not a guy. I don't know

(54:30):
what I know. I watched them plenty of games. I
watch a ton of college football. I've seen the kid
play quarterback. The NFL is just a different monster. The
Jets defense is a good defense. I've given rob uh
Robert Solo his credit. He's done very well. Coming off
that Shanahan Street from San Francisco. You wonder why that
defense is so good. They're Yeah, he was part of that.
So he knows how to coach defense. And we have

(54:51):
a rookie quarterback that knows the simply mean, he's been there.
It's different Martin to executed. I understand all the quotes
this weekend. I've just I've stayed right about it all
week I haven't even communicated with any dolphin, you know
people just you know, just I want to just watch
the quotes come out, and yeah, I gotta just beat myself.
I don't have to be a hero, not dog. You
kind of gotta be a hero right now. You can't

(55:12):
just be yourself because you're a backup. You're the third dude.
The second dude is is he's white. He's laying. He
don't even want to play like, I got no more love.
Here's here's here is uh, here is Joe Flacco's last
four starts. Okay, they lost twenty nine and nothing to
nine to Baltimore. Okay, so you got that. Remember that

(55:33):
game they beat the Browns thirty to thirty one, which,
mind you, we've seen this comeback three times this season.
One was Baker Mayfield. One was the greatest quarterback of
all time. The other one was Joe Flacco, right in
terms of they were down and needed two scores and
under three minutes to come back in that one. So
it was I mean lucky, okay, all right. And then

(55:54):
so you have the Bengals. He started. Against the Bengals,
they lost twenty seven and twelve, and then against the
Bills they lost twelve, I mean lost twenty to twelve.
I understand that throws are not Those are pretty good teams,
but the Dolphins, are you really gonna lose nine games
in a row or whatever it is? And I can't.
I can't stomach that. I can't. It'd be six in

(56:14):
a row and they gotta get this win tomorrow. Like
I said, I don't like backups. I'm not sure if
I got faith in this kid man to make the
throws that he's gonna need to make, because I'm not
sure we're gonna be able to run the football on
that defense. Once again, I said that defense is very,
very good, and Sauce Gardner gets really handy. If he's
allowed to get handy and grab guys, you know, he's
not as accurate as to it. So you know he's

(56:35):
got to have to make some place to What I
do like about him is he'll tucking go. I do
like that about him. He's a running style guy. When
he tucks it, he can go and he's not looking
to slide. He's looking lower the shoulder. He's a big kid.
He's a big guy. But yeah, I just want there's
a there's a there's a team depending on a backup
for a playoff position. So I just wanted to throw
that game. We'll get into that more coming. We'll get

(56:56):
into that game more coming up next. Uh, the Jaguars
in the Titan. Keep on this team to Titan. They
just kicked off as well. Football fans, be sure to
tune into Fox Sports radios count Down the kickoff presented

(57:39):

was just reminded a friend of mine texting me and
said wow because he saw my Instagram story the room
that I'm in which I literally can reach out and
touch all four walls. He said, they put you in
a closet in Vegas. So Jared said him can embarrass
himself on nationals on national radio, and uh, that's exactly
what happened. You text me that that you in this closet,

(58:01):
so you know, so described this room to our our
fans and listening right now. What what what where were
you at? What are you doing with some stuff? Just
so people who don't know radio rooms are radio studios
will generally have padded walls because you know, radio hosts
are a crazy but be it helps keep down the
sound muffle. Right, So there are I mean a room
of padded walls that is about I don't know. I'm

(58:21):
six feet tall, so this room has got to be
about It can't be any wider than seven feet, right,
and it's about five ft wide. I'm telling you I
could really reach out and touch all four. There's no
TVs in here. I'm watching the Jaguars Titans game streaming
on my on a on a laptop computer which has
happened to be sitting in here, and uh here I am.
It's me and a microphone room staring at the wall. Okay, yeah,

(58:43):
I just I'm always the studio. So but I've seen
videos of guys that have like a home set up
and things of that nature, which is gotta be really comfortable.
You don't have to go in the studio, right, you
can just do your shows and things like that from home.
But you you see these rooms they sit, it's like, oh, man,
but you don't want to build a full bedroom for student.
You did, and you do want it kind of small man,
but but hey, look you're in Vegas though, Baby, So

(59:05):
I mean when someone when the show's over, you got
at that room the strippers right there, scrapper, Yeah, you know,
I'm actually about fifteen minutes off the strip, which is
the furthest I've been anywhere in a car in Las Vegas?
Were you and were you at Henderson? I don't I
couldn't even tell you. Man, Like, when I got into Uber,
the guy was like really, I was like, You're sure

(59:27):
you're going all the way out here? And I was like,
I'm like, yeah, man, I am. And then pulled up
and luckily the building had satellites on the outside, so
I was like, you know, I bet this is the
right place. I'm pretty sure that this is going to
be the right place. But let's get into some of
these games for Week A teams coming up we got tomorrow.

(59:47):
I'll let you pick VJE to the Ravens and the
Bengals or the Seahawks in the Ram. Well, we already
talked about the Bengals a little bit. Man, Let's go
to that Seahawks and Rams game, because, uh, that Seahawks
and Rams games has a lot to do with the Lions.
That game really depends on whether the Lions are gonna
get into whether it's even gonna be worth watching the

(01:00:07):
Packer Lion game, and that if we already know what
that outcome is our excuse me? Or who's not getting
into the playoffs out of that game? But I look
at this game, and there's a lot riding on this
game because of what just you know happened and now
is on ESPN dot. Uh Now, now it's on the internet. Man,
you can click on mcveigh's future. I reported by Adam
chefferds mcvey's future and Limbo as Los Angeles Rams coach.

(01:00:30):
So is this his last game? Uh? Ken Ken Geno
Smith come in and lead this team to a playoff
birth of Compete Carroll at what seventy one years old?
Leader team into the playoffs, man, with all these young
draft picks and young players on the defensive side of
the ball, and then there would be your two teams
right from that division. There would be the Seahawks and

(01:00:50):
it would be the Niners getting into the playoffs from
that division where most people thought only one team was
getting in because a lot of people don't like Trey
Lance and he was gonna be the quarterback for the Niners.
People thought that would be the hang up the Rams
people thought would have a super Bowl hangover, which is
this is of epic proportions and this is a super
whole super Bowl like rehab. Stant Yeah, like we're talking
about a hangover. This is a super Bowl and we

(01:01:11):
need to we need to talk to somebody. Let me
ask you this super Bowl twelve step program. Let me
ask you this. And I don't and I don't want
to like pick or make fun or anything, but as
as serious as I can about the Rams, what does
this kind of just feel like, okay, who we got
the ring? Like McVeigh right, all right? Who all those picks,
all that money we spent went there the first time?

(01:01:31):
Lost got the ring? Matthew Stafford, all those years in Detroit,
all this, all this, you know, Aaron Donald? Right, who
does this kind of feel like a not given year
but almost like uh whatever, we got that ring? And like, right,
if you're McDonald, if you're Aaron Donald mc donald, Aaron Donald,
I could walk. If I'm if I'm Stafford, I could walk.
And now we're looking at it, man, I could walk.

(01:01:53):
I'm not even I'm not even tripping off this year.
Do you get that kind of feeling from the Rams
this year, with the way you've seen this season go
what I see from the Rams this year, I mean partially, yes,
I don't think they walked in thinking we're gonna just
see of course, of course, right, But what I think,
my one of my major takeaways from this RAM season
is it just goes to show you the partnership between

(01:02:16):
Belichick and Brady, the consistency, how they were able to
year in year out be competitive, because I think what
you're seeing right here right now is like the competitive fatigue.
Right they went all in. Everybody, They're always going all
and always going all in. Well after you know, eventually
you're gonna either hit or you're gonna fold. You know
what I'm saying. You're you're gonna run out of of

(01:02:37):
chips to play with, you know what I'm saying. And
I think ultimately, I don't know. It is a fascinating
case study to as you did get this championship. And
they say Super Bowls are all that matters. But I mean,
if I'm a RANS, I don't feel goodbout where my
team is right now. But you don't, you know, I see,
I I disagree. I can I'll tell you right now,
I have never seen the Dolphins win a Super Bowl
in my life. Dolphins went a Super Bowl. I'm talking

(01:02:58):
crap for five years, and I don't care what nobody say,
Like you could come to me any kind of way,
and I'm like, bro, look we got one three years
and all four years. I'm giving it a five year
window because they're so damn hard to get here. You
say that now, my friend, However, what you just said
in Microwaves Society, you've said it a few times a day.
You already know how that thing go go. I mean

(01:03:20):
you already know. Yeah, yeah, So I'm just you know,
I just say, I mean, I'm a States fan. I
saw the Saints winning Super Bowl, and we're competitive for
you know, and for we're competitive for you know, yeah exactly.
That's different though. But but the first what twenties seven
or you know, the first twenty years of my life,

(01:03:42):
I didn't see anything good. I got you know what
I'm saying, Like, I didn't see anything good. My dad said,
whenever they you know, they showed the box on TV
with the score and the score bug and he said
the n OH stood for no team. That was the
saying that I grew up with. You know what, I'm
saying something to Paperback states. So yeah, the paper bag says, yes,
I am a bag head. I had bags over my head.

(01:04:03):
Shut up. I promise you. I promise that because you
guys were the first franchise to like really do that
on a consistent basis, was there the Paperback fans? Yes,
and you know we did first to we said who that? Cincinnati,
get out of here with who day don't even make sense?
All right, first of all, But that's enough about that.
I'll give you that one too. Yeah that who that?
And then people tonight who because no one says who

(01:04:26):
they like? Nobody says that doesn't make any sense? It
makes it makes no sense at all. It's it is
one of the most clear some rip off that I've
ever seen. And you know, Andy Ferman, you're Cincinnati right now.
I hope you spread the message. Everybody, Tell them all,
tell everybody. But let's get to Steve Disger right now.
This Jaguars Titans game has been a punt fest. What
else is going on in the world of sports? My friends?

(01:04:46):
This one's moving right along. Under six minutes to go
in the first quarter, and score. Let's Tennessee Losers have
sixth straight at Jacksonville, which is one four in a
row to get up to eight and eight. The winner
tonight takes the a f C South title. Kansas City
has clinched the one seed in the a f C
and the by next weekend. Chiefs one at Las Vegas
thirty one thirteen. It was thirty one six in the
fourth quarter. Kansas City as a team twenty eight carries

(01:05:09):
a hundred sixty eight yards rushing, and linebacker Nick Bolton
had sixteen tackles in this one. The Saints gave Denver
permission to interview coach Sean Payton, who still under contract
with New Orleans Peyton's he was the Saints coach for
fifteen seasons. A year ago, he went nine and eight.
Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts, after a strange shoulder, is expected
to play tomorrow. Hurts was limited in practice this week.

(01:05:32):
Defensive end Robert Quinn is off injured reserve. The Eagles
can clinch the NFC's number one seed in the first
round by with a win against the Giants Sunday. If
they lose, the forty Niners could get that one seed.
The Giants are the number six seed. They will start
quarterback Davis Webb and rest some starters tomorrow, including quarterback
Daniel Jones and running back sae Quon Barkley, according to

(01:05:53):
the New York Post, and the Browns will not play
defensive end Jadeveon Clowney tomorrow. He was sent home. Clowney
will become a free agent in March. The National Championship
Game in college football is in l A Monday night,
with number one and undefeated Georgia against TCU. TCU star
running back Kendrew Miller, with the sprained mcl says he's
questionable for the game. In the NBA, Boston has one

(01:06:15):
at San Antonio with some late scoring one one to one.
Sixteen Jayson Tatum with thirty four points upset in college
hoops at number five Arizona. Washington State beats the Wildcats
seventy four sixty one. Wazoo was one and four in
conference final seconds of overtime. Kansas State is leading at
number nineteen, Baylor nine five, Arkansas at Auburn just underway.

(01:06:39):
Each ranked in the top twenty five as for earlier
games in college hoops, it was Alabama ranks seventh, destroying
Kentucky seventy eight to fifty two and number sixteen. Duke
got a sixty five sixty four win at Boston College
first quarter scoreless Titans at Jaguars. Back to you, you
know the deserved obviously Martin and VJ coming to your

(01:07:02):
life from the tirerack dot com studios. Steve just made
mention to this, how do you feel about the idea
that we're just sending these NFL players home? Yeah, like
Derek Carr just sent home, Marcus MERI just sent home. Well,
the Derek Carr thing was a mutual agreement. That was mutual.
I I think that was a cold I think that
was honestly a good conversation. It was a cool conversation.

(01:07:24):
There was no what's Derek Carr saw the writing on
the wall, and he probably saw it writing on the
wall a month ago. He knew what was up, and
instead of being around and being a distraction, which I agree,
if he's not there, then you you got maybe a
day to ask after that, Look, he's not here and
we know what's up. Asked about something else or I'll
give you, I'll give you to be smoked media answer,
But the Javannian Clowney thing Javannian Clowney has always been

(01:07:47):
a guy that I just always been out on. I've
never been in on him, even all the way back
to South Carolina when Steve Spurrier questioned his worth ethnic
And this is a man who's one of Heisman coach
in the NFL one National champion him like he knows
when the guy's working hard and when the guy is not. Sometimes, Martin,
I think we're just so some certain guys, not you
and I, but something Earther people are just so godly

(01:08:08):
gifted physically at what sport they can do. They don't
always have to work. And when you're that good, sometimes
and arrogance and an entitlement starts to see bed. It's
just it's just psychological. There's no other way around it.
And when you're openly as a veteran telling people you
ain't coming back and telling the coach's staff you're not

(01:08:28):
coming back, okay, bye, go home, then I'm with that
week seventeen. Yes, if you don't want to be here, bye,
I just I think I just want to. I want
to and I'm not coming to Steve I even doing
a great job because I'm not I want to have
a delineation of terms, because, like Marcus Mariana, I feel
like this sent home is much different than the Devon

(01:08:50):
Clowney sent home. You know, I missed that when I
missed that, because you know me, I'm watching so much
sports that one snuck by me. I did not know
Marcus Mariota was sent home. He was sent home from Atlanto. Yeah,
and that he was after they went. They went and
they moved to Desmond, Ritter. But he also had a
child like a day before, right, so it kind of
made it was it was like, okay, well this makes
a little bit of sense. That makes sense. I'm not

(01:09:10):
gonna be playing. I'm not gonna be back up like
I'm I'm gonna be that. I'm gonna be in a
practice squad. Will call me if you need me, you
know what I mean. Right, I'm about to go be
a daddy. Be I'm about to go lay up and
change diapers and get a very little sleep. I'm going
to be a daddy. I feel that. The other thing
I don't like off the Street they did insigne Josh

(01:09:31):
Stops off the street like John Stops was not sitting
under a stop sign, leaning up against it with a forty,
you know, with a forty in a paperbag, Like damn,
I wonder if I'm gonna get a call this year.
You know what I'm saying that they called him off.
You know, luckily they found somehow found Josh Dobbs. They
held up outreach Fan picked them up, like what are
we doing? Like like like like like trading places when

(01:09:52):
they when uh, when the Dukes picked up Billy Ray Valentine. Baby,
just pull right up and hey, man, you know you
want to get in It's warming here. It's cold out there,
it's war it's warm in here. So I want you though, Bro,
you know me, I hate stupid terms we use, narrative
source I did. Those are things I can't apologize all.
He's such a such apologies Like no, I like the guy.

(01:10:13):
I'm not apologizing for his bad play or it's bad moves,
a bad coaching or whatever. But I like that. I'm
not apologizing for But I'm with you on that that
that off the Street. It's so disrespectful Like I wasn't
I wasn't knowing the damn street bro the street Like
I'm paying my rent, bro, Like I'm not spot I'm
in a decent spot. Okay, I'm not necessarily, you know,

(01:10:33):
out here shaking a coin and taking a start from
cup trying to get quarters out of you know what
I mean. I'm not on the street. Yeah, you know.
And then I feel like the number one on the
street guy over the last maybe ten years with Nick
Foles in the way that he was like he came
off the street. He was gonna retire. And now look
at me. One of Super Bowl. Oh my god, I

(01:10:55):
just saw this Titan splay. Yeah, I'm watching it. I
was waiting for you. I was waiting. I'm watching already
know to play you're talking about. I was waiting for
you because I know you're buying. That was madness. Traylon
Burks comes across and you got it up and down.
Year he's limping off the field now as I see it,
But trail On Burks takes across a pass across the
middle and before he goes down, just emuely flips the

(01:11:15):
ball over the back of his head to the running
back who caught it. Yeah, and picked up enough for
a first down for them to kick a field goal
and they go up yeah, and they go up three
nothing right here, listen as this game is started and
I'm watching it now. I picked Jacksonville. I want Jacksonville
to win because I really loved the story. We're in
this business, we love stories. This would be a great story.
But I don't like how they started. I don't like

(01:11:36):
how they started. They're not getting off to a good start. No, no,
well they got lucky with this Burk's thing that he
threw it backwards and he threw it forwards, but ultimately
they haven't been off to a good stary. Like I said,
it's been a punt fest, which favors Tennessee great because
you got like, again, this is Trevor Lawrence for a
shot stops. It should not be complicated, right, Like you
know what I'm saying, Like all due respected Josh Stops

(01:11:57):
University Tennessee legend, but in Tennessee quarterbacks, what do you
mean what the Tennessee I know, I know, I know.
Also Hendon Hooker, who was your guy? Exactly? Did you
like t Martin too? I mean, bro, that's a little
before my time in terms of in terms of knowing
college football, Like I would you know what I'm saying.

(01:12:18):
I knew that Peyton Manny came out of all, but star,
let's get into this real quick. Jeff Shatura came on Tibodeau.
Oh good one, this uh, this is a bit much.
I'm sorry, it's a bit much. I kind of what
do you think? So do you think that came on Tibodeau.
We all saw that happen. He sacks Nick Foles does

(01:12:38):
the snow angel. First of all, I don't know he
didn't hit Nick Foles doing the snow angel. He was
right next to him, right Nick Foles was down on
the field. You got cracked ribs. He goes, came on, Tiboo,
goes to the sideline, he goes to Steph Curry put
him to sleep. Thing. So after the fact, Jeff Saturday says,
that's Bush league. They don't do that in the league,
that that's not a tasteless trash. How did I came on?

(01:13:00):
Tibodeaux said, bro, I don't even know who you are.
So I kind of trended like I would not be
shocked to know that if came on. Thibodeaux did not
know who Jeff Saturday was. Oh no, I got a
bad I loved when this happened because I I know Cavon.
I called his high school games out here, being from
Dorsey in south central l A. And then transferred up
here for a better situation, man, and a better you know,

(01:13:22):
opportunity to get to the NFL, which he did do.
It was the right moved by his mother to do so.
Put on him at Oaks Christian up here and west Lake, California,
right outside of where I live out in the valley.
And see now, so I I he's a good kid. Man.
He's a good kid. He's very very passionate, he's very animated.
He has spoken openly about I'm a man, I'm a human.
God gave me these emotions, so I'm gonna use them.

(01:13:44):
I'm not gonna just coward to you guys are coward
to the media. And listen when you get and I
help money in college and and and people who don't
like this and have been taking their shots at Cavan,
let me explain something to you. Get ready, this is
the new NFL player. Because by the time they get
there and he's producing, and they like he a rookie,
that's a bum. He's actually producing. He's actually the reason
why they're one of the remain reason why the defensive

(01:14:06):
played so well and they're going to the playoffs, so
he's doing his job. But I don't even know who
that is. I I think he knows exactly who he is.
But that was his young in their era and their generation.
That was their way of saying, bump you, man. And
I want to put another word there, but I can't
say that on Fox Sports Radio, but bump you, dude,
Like basically, that was his way of saying that because

(01:14:28):
if you watch the play again, when you hit a quarterback,
I've sat quarterbacks in my life, you don't look at
the quarterback. You're going you do your dance. You're going
to do your celebration. Are you do your baseball swing man? Like? Uh?
The kids Smith used yeah yeah, bro, like you you
do to Jason Taylor draw draw the dartboard and didn't
punch the bulls like you do your thing. He's laying

(01:14:50):
on the ground doing snow angels. He never once turns
his head to the right to look at Nick folks,
you know, convulsion or whatever was happening to his body.
And then I mean, dude, he gets up because the sidelines.
It's like, so the other thing too uh premeditated. There
was no snow for miles no premeditate was gonna do
his snow. And then it's right around Christmas is the holiday. See,

(01:15:12):
I get what he was doing, but I don't think
he was celebrating him being hurt. But let's get real, Martin.
You and I both been in this business and and
and portions and pieces of this business before. We know
pro athletes on the defensive side of the ball they
want to her Dolphins, and god, it's not like that's
not true. All Right, we get coming up next, we'll
get into the atomic dog. You know what. I'm underdogs

(01:15:33):
that we think got a good shot winning. All right,
this week is a disaster of a board out here
in Las Vegas, but we'll get into that coming up next.
We could talk about how complicated other banks make it
to redeem credit card rewards, or we can talk about
how we Discover you can redeem your rewards for cash
and any amount at anytime. I mean, talk about amazing
learn more about to learn more at discover dot com

(01:15:54):
slash redeem rewards terms do apply. Like you said, I
love backup quarterbacks. I'm taking your team, the Miami Dolphins.
They're gonna beat the New York Jets. It's a disaster
out there. Mike White's not a starting quarterback, neither Skyler Thompson.
But at least the Dolphins know that they're not a dog.
Though the Dolphins a favorite in that game, bro I
thought the Dolphins were at one point dog bad. No,

(01:16:14):
not the Dolphins. I mean that's what I saw in
DraftKings this morning. Last I checked in when I put
my bed in, Man, it was the three and a half.
I think they cover that, but I could think they
cover three and a half to record my bad. I'll
get up there, but I know you'll grab it. I
know you'll grab another one. Give me the GMAIL with
that fifteen and a half with the Eagles. I know
the Eagles are gonna play Jalen Hurt and that's my guy.
I want him to win the m v P. I
think he might have lost it with the games that

(01:16:36):
he had to set out to Patrick Mahomes, So congratulations
to Batroom my Home for being a two time m
VP and the National Football League. But I do like
this spread, even at a plus eight fifty on the board.
When I saw the plus eight fifty on the board,
it was like, WHOA, I might jump on that and
take that, not for you know, them to win the game,
but I do think the fifteen and a half. Give
me that plus fifteen and a half with the Giants.
I'm taking the Carolina Panthers, a team that has had

(01:16:58):
not a lot to play for, even though they were
fighting for the division. It wasn't ever real. It was
never a real thing. But you know what also was
never real the New Orleans Saints from the start of
the year. Whatever happened to Jameis Winston. I don't know,
Andy Dalton's can't seem to throw more interceptions in the
red zone. I'm taking the I'm taking the Panthers here
because you know what, Foreman and Hubbard, they run the
ball well, going to get your hometown Saints. I would

(01:17:20):
have never damn right, I know I would. I'd have
never picked that one, right there. Man. Another one I
really liked to is the Bears with that plus six
at home tomorrow. Nathan Peterman, Yeah, yeah, yeah, Well just
the Vikings, aren't that. This ain't about the Bears. This
is about the Vikings. The Vikings are a different team
away from home. Dog, They're not the same football team.
And even when Nathan Peterman in I mean, people keep

(01:17:42):
saying Justin Phills can't throw the ball. At least Nathan
Peter May could throw the ball, So maybe we might
see more aerial attack and less quarterback running. Them all
could equate some points for the Chicago Bears. So give
me the Bears with the plus six. Oh anything that
scares me. Nathan Peterman as a starter, I'm not trying
to kill your pick one in three lifetime. His three
losses by thirty, thirty two, and forty four. He don't

(01:18:02):
play defense. You don't, don't. He don't play defense. He's
been throwing the balls to the defense a lot. You
know what this is? A okay, here you go and
the vanilla brother of the week showdown. There you go.
It's Pete Carroll in the Seattle Seahawks versus Baker Mayfield
of the Los Angeles Rams. Give me the Seahawks, I'm sorry,

(01:18:23):
Give me the Rams. Give me the Rams, The Rams,
the Ram, the Ram, the Rams. Sean mcbeg wins with
maybe his last game, I guess apparently allegedly whatever you
know saying he did this last year. Who knows? It
may be his last game. Sean mcbegh goes out of
winner and Seahawks missed the playoffs. I've tried to figure
out how the Charges. Maybe they're not playing anybody, or
a plus three on the road at Denver that has
a really good defense, but they can't score move the football.

(01:18:46):
And I think the Charges defense has been playing really
well as of late. Give me the Chargers at Mount
High tomorrow with the plus three it's a plus one
thirty five on the money line. Give me the underdog
on that forty Vegas. Don't think anybody scoring points in
this game tomorrow. You know what my last dog is.
I already know we're down to the Field Alliance team
that will not I mean, come on, Detroit, let's get

(01:19:09):
it together, Detroit, Rock City, Dan the Man Campbell, Let's
get it done. No, they're not winning that game tomorrow,
That's right, Martin Wise. VJ Husky broadcasting live from the
Tirac dot Com Studios. Tirac dot com. We'll help you
get there with an unmasked collection, fast free shipping, free
road as in protection over ten thousand recommended as dollars.

(01:19:31):
Tirac dot Com is the way tired buying should be.
In VJ. It may just sound like Jim Harball maybe
getting some tires and getting out out of an harbor.
Stop it. I wanted him to stop it. I want
him to stop stop it. I want him to stop it.
But let's get to the news of the day first,
all right. Jim Harball hit with five n A violations,
four level two violations, one level one violation, apparently stemming

(01:19:56):
from conversations and hamburgers had at the Brown Jug on
South University and ann Arbor, Michigan. Vja ever been to
the Brown Jug? No, I've never been to the Brown Jug,
but I want to go now. And I tell you this,
if they don't have a burger by football season called
the tampering or the violation Dave Failing. So are you
familiar with the Brown Jugs menu? But absolutely so. As

(01:20:17):
you know then uh it has named for the menu.
Items are named for different Michigan athletes, are coaches, or
you name it like for example, you might have probably
a safe assumption to think that Jim Harball man have
had a Jack Hardball burger at the at the at
the Brown Jug. I went to Michigan, I was there

(01:20:38):
for five years and I can't think of anything I
ever ate from the Brown Jug. Why not because it
was the other restaurants that were better. That's what I was.
I was like, of all that, it doesn't matter if
it was better, was it. It's it's the staple there though.
It's the Brown Jug. We played for the little Brown
Juga gets Minnesota every year, like you you go at
least once. But listen to this, all right, but BTV,
next story. If I high five cent tequila shots every

(01:21:01):
fifth of the month, so so tequila shots. I'm saying, look, look, look, look,
South University is is the strip in which this is on.
And you can go to you can go to good
Time Charlie's, which was my favorite bar. I had five
dollar yet five dollar burgers and you had they had
fish bowls there. That's the big thing at that Charlie's
just fish bowls, not bTB upstairs, bTB Cantina. You're gonna

(01:21:23):
get a casey the b rito and five sequila shots
on the fifth of the month. Right, you can walk
all the way down to the Blue Lap, all the
way down there with a nice little basement where you
can have a good time down there as well. But
the Brown Jug is more of a restaurant in the
pathway of all of these places that you would go to.
But yeah, but anyway, I wouldn't have gone to the
Brown Jug gotten either, you know Abigail O'Connor special jug

(01:21:46):
on or Mary Stewart's French toast. Mary Stewart's a very
nice woman, I've met her. But you could have got
Devin Gardner's chicken tenders or Jake Long's potato skins while
you're while you're there, Number one overall picked on my
Miami Dolphins. Yeah, that is the Brown Jug. So it
is a very Michigan style, Michigan uh pro Michigan restaurant.

(01:22:08):
Everything in there. It's like when you go to your
t G. A. Friday's has got local pictures from all
the like, you know, the local team. Everything is in
there in Michigan. Wall's wall. Yeah. Well, and no wonder
that he took the kids there. But look, to be honest,
what you do. I don't care about the end. It's
not because I like the guy and I'm a hardball guy,
hardball fan. I don't care about these stupid little violations
when you guys are letting other schools temple with players

(01:22:30):
and you know about it, and now it takes the
coach to come out and said that you were contacting
their kid before they actually entered the portal. You know
about this stuff, man, This I I tweeted yesterday and
that this is an honest question. This isn't fanhood talking
or anything. Why don't people in n C double A
in the media like Jim Harball? What did he ever do? No, No,

(01:22:52):
it's it's true. No, they don't know, they don't know,
they don't. I can't stop. I got No, that's not true.
You can't sit there on the Fox Sports Radio. There's
people who may people who will will say his praises,
but there there there are people that like everybody. But
for the most part, Jim Harball just seems to be
a guy that people love to go after and and

(01:23:14):
and okay, I'll say it like that to go after.
And I'm still looking for the incident that may have
turned people so sour on the guy and made people
like go, like this n C double A thing feels
like a witch hunt. It really does. Now, I'm gonna
be a cynic because I love being a cynic and
sports talk because there's always room for it. Even though
people try to say that there's not yes, no, yes,
there is could this be some type employ that this

(01:23:36):
guy leaked so that it can actually open a little
crack even bigger for Hallball to walk out of the door.
Bow and I were texting back and first Fourth earlier
this week and both things he's gone, and I was like,
all right, well, you know it's best and Wings, but
it want to bet Wings. But I'm like, I think
I'll say he stays. And that's the only reason why
I think he stays. If if if the Differ job

(01:23:59):
or the Carolina job, at the two jobs that you're
telling me he could go take, and other coaches are
gonna get fired, and we know this, there's gonna be
more jobs available. But we know right now, what are
the two jobs available. We know that the Broncos job
is open, the Carolina's job is open. I don't think
you leave Michigan, and I don't think it would have
to be fifteen to twenty million dollars a year to
pull him to one of those two franchises. Broncos have
new ownership. You have the Russell Wilson issue there. You

(01:24:21):
have Russell Wilson as your quarterback. He wants to run
the football. No running back there could keep them can
stay healthy or keep the ball off the turf. So
you have a lot to really fix there, even though
people want to try to class make it look good
on paper. Or you can stay yeah, or or you
can stay in Michigan where you have a five star
sophomore quarterback returning. I think Blake Corn comes back because

(01:24:42):
he makes more money. And I and I looked this up.
He makes more money in I yel than what he
would be as a third, fourth, or even a fifth
round draft pick in the NFL draft. So why so
you don't You ain't going for the money. You make
more now, and you'll be able to come back and
put more more plays on tape from the meniscus injury,
and bring back and and go back and try to
right the wrongs of the last two years to recap.

(01:25:02):
We get the rehab too on quote unquote company time
as opposed to trying to sell yourself as you know
exactly exactly. And he's he's not gonna be able to
participate in the combine like that, so all they're gonna
have to do is go on tape. And I like
to take more than the combine anyway, even though I'm
a combine free you have ninety of your talent, of
your main talent coming back, and they have the number
one portal class if if if if the whole storyline

(01:25:23):
of where he's setting it up for the next guy,
all right, cool, I'm not gonna debunk that. But if
I'm the coach, I'm like, no, man, I'm still setting
you up. But I gotta come back all of what
we saw man last week, and we sat here flabbergas
that with our tongues just hanging out of mouth, not
knowing you had, you know, a lot to say. I
didn't know what. Yeah, you had a ton to sap,
but outlast you this Mark real talk just as a competitor.

(01:25:46):
Can you leave on that? Bro? Can you leave on that? Martin? So,
first of all, no, I wouldn't leave, would stay at Michigan.
But second of all, I don't even see the draw,
Like I don't understand what hardball has done in the
last eight years as a Michigan coach that it just
has every single year it seems, uh, you know, interviews

(01:26:08):
for head coaching jobs. I don't, okay, but like to
what end? Because it's been eight years at Michigan and
he has won one Bowl game like that. That's the
thing that like, these are the things that I'm wondering
about because anytime like, yeah, you know you beat up
on the Big ten. Cool, you're two and four again.
So I mean Ryan Day has one more I mean,

(01:26:28):
one less loss in this rivalry and he's only been
there for three games. I know, I think, I don't
know what so I when I see that when he's
talking about the Denver Broncos, I want to want Jim
Harbot to be their head coach, to turn it around.
It's like, you know, okay, cool, if you take Andrew
Luck and Colin Kaepernick out of the NFL, out of football, right,

(01:26:51):
if then just for some reason just got plucked out
by aliens, and the aliens came and zapped them up
into the spaceship and they never he wouldn't have had
this quarterback whisper? Where is the quarterback whisper? I'm sorry?
Was it Jake Ruddock was at Wilton Spate? Was it? Uh?
I mean, come on, bro, Like, it's just I've seen
and J. J. McCarthy and then but then all year J. J.
McCarthy was turning around and handing the ball off and

(01:27:12):
when he threw the ball once a while against I
was staying that threw the ball not so great against TCU. Right,
so it's like, where is where is the tangible? Like
if you told me that Lincoln Riley was a quarterback, guru, Okay,
now we can have a conversation with exactly my guy.
That's what I'm talking about. He's got four starting quarterbacks
in the NFL right now, right now, right now now,

(01:27:33):
kayleb Williams is the team that everybody bow back there
screaming why the Eagles would be taking to go get him.
I'm just kidding. He's not saying that, but people saying
that people should take for Kayle Williams. It's like, so
that's why I'm wondering, Okay, cool, Maybe maybe that he
don't have a maybe Lincoln Riley don't call it a
good defense, but like, yo, if we're talking about the

(01:27:54):
things that Jim Harball is supposed to be known to do,
there are people in college right now doing it significantly better.
I can't disagree, man, and and I think once again,
but I think the lore of he's a football guy,
like you know, you're getting and not to say other
coaches aren't, but you know, there's something different about hardball
and the khakis and putting the gloves on and warming

(01:28:14):
up with his corterback, and he doesn't nervous bird. Yeah,
you know this stuff. He's he's a football like. He's
a football guy. Like in baseball they call him a
dirt bag. He's a dirt bag. That guy right there,
he could just he just he just plays the game
a baseball the right way. At every Acpact. The nickname
turn for that. That kid right there, that's a dirt

(01:28:34):
bag man. You want a guy Jim Harball, He's just
a football coach. Man. He's gonna come in, he's gonna
turn whatever is going on, it's gonna go the opposite way.
Because if you got a new coach, he's been bad, right,
trust me, it's not gonna be bad long that he
has proven. I think. I'm I'm with you. I'm trying
to figure out why the lore so much to go

(01:28:55):
back to the NFL, and all I keep hearing is
the money, the money, the money. Okay, well, then you
gotta tell me somebody's gonna at least pay him fifteen
the twenty million. You're gonna pay a coach that to
come back into the NFL a coach. I I just
don't see these these franchises want even to put that
type of money out maybe for Sean Pay and why

(01:29:15):
because Sean Pays hosted the Lombardi I think Sean Pai
could command fifteen to twenty million when he comes back
to coach the next season. He's gonna be coaches somewhere.
But if I'm horriball, you just have now if he
wants to leave next year, I'll be honest with you.
He wants to leave next year, I get it because
you're losing your quarterback. You know what I'm saying. You
may recruit and help load up, but these aren't really
your guys. You got him here. It's like, all right,
Charonon Moore or whoever you're gonna get the job to.

(01:29:37):
He's your, he's your. He hasn't played it down from
Michigan yet. But my guy, me and j J, the
guy that I got into five Star Ball, I'm gonna
exit with him. I think that would be more feasible
and more respectable. I just don't think that you can
walk away from Michigan with the last the last thing
impression being watching his face in his own dad's standing
up in mouthing Jim, what are you doing when he

(01:29:59):
wouldn't all the damn time outs. Oh but no VJ.
He's got unfinished business in the NFL, like he's finished
the business in college. I mean, this is just a joke.
Bow text me he said he's got something. What you got, buddy.
I just feel like the big elephant in the room
with harbor Um the Colts. They have an insane owner
who will give him whatever he wants. He'll have ultimately
way to do what he wants. Jeff Saturday is not

(01:30:20):
going to be there next year. I'm sorry to say, Uh,
he's played there. Uh. I just think that's why I am.
He was like he was going to be the Vikings
head coach. I feel like we kind of just memory
hold that because it didn't happen. But you had plenty
of people insiders that were convinced he was taking that job.
He was convinced he was taking that job. He was
openly interviewing for that job at critical recruiting times. So

(01:30:42):
I don't I just I think he wants to go
back to the NFL, and he's he I feel like
he's going to get an offer from the Colts. And
that's why I'm pretty adamant that he's going to go
back to the NFL. And and I'll say this, Bow,
I don't even disagree what any of the points that
you've made, But when you're talking about taking that coach job,
the division helps a little it because of course you
have the uh, you have the Coats, and they're not good.

(01:31:04):
He'll be coaching, but you have to Texas and you
basically we're watching the seven and nine and eight and
a a f C South team battle it out in
a week eighteen ten to seven and the second quarter
for the division, right, so the division isn't tough, But
you still got to tell me who's this quarterback gonna be?
Sam Elgar's the backup there right now? Is the young buck?
And and and I know her say is crazy, you know,
given whatever he wants, but is that gonna be enough

(01:31:26):
to come coach the Coats? Now, if you were telling
me somehow Mcveailey's and this ram sjob opens up, are
a lot of people wanted to charges coach Fard and
l A the charges job opened up, then I might
be with you, But I just think there's just no
way in hell. That is not even a good job
to leave Michigan. I mean, but to the point, for
the point I mean, none of these jobs are are

(01:31:48):
are the distellar you know, great job, You're not better
than the job he has now, is the point I'm making.
I mean, he was gonna take the Vikings job, which
like is you're playing in the same division as Aaron
Rodgers and you know, you have what Kirk Cousins and
like real people like you know, people knew how good
Justin Jefferson was, but like, I don't think the entire
country knew how good he was until this year. So

(01:32:09):
I just I don't know. I just think he I
think he wants to go back to the NFL. It's
something that he's openly, openly flirted with now for a
couple of years in a row. I don't think it's
all by accident that it all comes out at the
same time. That point, the second part about the thing
about flirting with it all year, every single year, I'm
sick of that mess, I really truly am. Because he
signed a contract every single year. After the fact, he's

(01:32:31):
got a five year deal and has the nerve to go,
you know, uh, I will be enthusiastically coaching Michigan in
two thousand and twenty three, while no one knows what
the future holes you signed a contract for that note
what the next five years of your life should look like,
champ And then you're gonna say he has to say that,
you know. Then you say those who stayed will be champions,
Like but go ahead, then leave leave Then if that's
you know what I'm saying, leave, Then if it's if

(01:32:52):
every if every summer we got to sit here and
be like, oh, Jim Horbo may not be coming big,
or every January is we gonna sit there in Jim
Horbo may not become back good rintance like go I
don't understand what the hold up is. If you want
to go so, don't go on bad, then get the
hell up out of here. I don't think he wants
to go so bad. I think I think the media
brings a lot of that up to and they always
want to stir that pot with hardball. But I agree

(01:33:14):
with both. There is this unfinished business, maybe with with
UH winning the Super Bowl or with the NFL, But
at the end of the day, to you, you were
a fourth down throw in the end zone to crab
Tree from winning that game. So I'm not sure if
you want to go back and put in the four
or five more works years of work of games in
his mid sixties, right, So you you you want to

(01:33:35):
put that work in the next four or five years
to get back even to the point of crab Tree
in the back of the end zone open and Kaepernick
missing him on the throw to win the Super Bowl. Again,
That's why the whole unfinished business thing doesn't really fly
with me really quick to you both. I heard conflicting
stories though about the Minnesota job, where Hardball opened it

(01:33:55):
and wanted it, but they were the ones that decided
to go a different eruction. It isn't like Hardball said, no,
I don't you know, I don't I don't want to
coach never mind, I'm gonna go back to Michigan. I
thought that that was also a dynamic too, where if
he if he, if he so had the Minnesota job,
then why didn't they give him the Minnesota job, Like
there was some there's something there that that isn't being told. Yeah,

(01:34:21):
the owners didn't want to gi him to god the job.
They interview Kevin O'Connor went with him, but Jim Harball
wanted that job. They just didn't give it to him.
Like he just didn't get hired. I wanted to be
a radio host long before I was Yeah like that.
It's just I did the Minnesota things. Everybody way interviewed.
He wanted the job this, Yeah, but when you go
interview for a job, you're always gonna act like you

(01:34:42):
want the job. You don't go interview for a job.
I'm not. I guess I'm just not sold on he
wanted to leave Michigan. I think Hardball likes being wanting
to stay at Michigan at this point because I think
there's there's two things that there's two things that you like.
I need him to be as enthusiastic as he is
about attacking every day, to be as enthusiastic about the
support from Michigan, and especially in a time in which

(01:35:03):
the transport was wide open and guys can just go
wherever they want. But coming up next, we'll get into
the college football playoff championship game, of which Jim Harbaugh
has never been a participant, and we'll talk about that
coming up next. Martin and VJ is brought to you

I mean, what's up with this Jaguar? Same baby, man? Please?
I thought about what when he threw that. He threw
a really nice touchdown past two. Man, it was it

(01:35:46):
was a great, great ball, only one place he could
fit it in. Now, once again, I gets sick of
these professional dbs that make millions of dollars that won't
turn their head when you see the receivers like eyes
light up or focus in on something that may be
an object that may be in flight towards the vicinity
of their area. Turn your damn head. It would have
been interception. But when you threw the touchdown past, I said,

(01:36:07):
there's a there's here's Martin's guy. You were talking about
this guy last week. Man, I look like I said,
I don't have faith really in him. But Derrick Henry
seventeen Carrey seven one yards four point two in the
first half. Already there, that's what you do with this offense. Man.
And you know, I don't know why he wouldn't run
the well from my man Malik the freak Willis, But
you know why because they had eleven players in the box. Yeah,

(01:36:30):
that's the problems. And then about him not wanting to
he want to run, ain't no space. I'm gonna give him,
to give him this off season the next year. I
just I like the kid. I believe in them. But
Josh snals Man playing well and and Jacksonville by the
wake up bro. Like, like I said, it's not been
a great first half. Seven points going in the halftime,

(01:36:51):
now soon coming up here, so we'll see where it
goes from here. Man Steven Segan will have the latest
on all of that just at the bottom of the hour.
It's just something. I mean, hey, dude, this just U
you know this is It's just something that's divisional game
and opponents divisional opponents. It's a right, it's a division game.
It's a robbery. It's for the playoffs. If people thought
Tennessee was just gonna show up and roll over because

(01:37:12):
they've lost six in a row, no, they're figured, Hey,
we lost six in a row, but guess we got
a chance to go do tonight. Guys, go get it
dub and go to the playoffs and win and win
the division. I mean, it just is what it you know,
it is what it is. They would win a division
at eight and nine, So it's all right, so viage.
I made two bets in the last like ten minutes okay,
well not the last ten minutes before the start of
this game. I bet Derrick Henry over a hundred fifty

(01:37:34):
rushing yards and five to one. Okay, so we're on
a good track there. I also bet TC on the
money line against Georgia. Oh dog, I saw that. Yeah
did plus three fifty? Yeah? I took it. I took
like three and a half to one. You know what
I'm saying. I'm I'm in Vegas for a reason. You
feel me. I'm not here for a reason. And I'll
just say this. When I was handicapping the Ohio State

(01:37:57):
Georgia game, I was like, I thought, Ohio State it
had a great shot to win it. And as we
saw as the clock struck midnight on two, Ohio State
kicker hook did all them try to hook it back
to two thousand and five, as far as as far
left as that field goal went. But Ray Finkel, But
I just say, look if if if TCU can't keep

(01:38:19):
Max dugging upright, it's gonna be hard to cover somebody's receivers. Well,
not only that, if if if you look at what
George's secondary look like against Ohio State, it's Harrison. Yeah,
it so Marvin Harrison, the junior gets knocked out of
that game. It does turn that game around. They they
are cooking that secondary and I and I thought the

(01:38:40):
defensive backs for Georgia would play way better than they
did so and that's the only reason why. And they
look at this twelve points spread. I'm not gonna make
the mistake that I made last weekend, look at it
the spread and thinking that, okay, it can cover that.
This twelve points spread. Man to borrow our our colleague here,
Brian knows words is a gift from God, from the
sports cots. Here, this twelve points for t see you.

(01:39:00):
But dog, if you put a g on TCU, that's
forty five hunted back in your pocket. Man, that is
a hell of a moneyline. Now, I think it's gonna
close a little bit and it'll come down a little
bit going in the kickoff. But right now, man, money line,
TCU three plus three fifty, you put a g down, guys.
If you got a g I you got gvest guys,
it's forty un coming right backman. I mean, I mean

(01:39:22):
I think that just in terms of the matchup in
the game, right I watched TCU hold down Michigan running
the ball after the first play. I mean it was
Michigan running the ball effectively. Shure they're getting positive yards, sure,
but like it wasn't what it had not averaging. I
mean the Michigan was you know, the way they were
running the ball beforehand and like you know, three yards

(01:39:44):
prior to contact, you know what I mean. So it's
just like they were just moving the ball on the
way that I saw TCU just shut down with that
three three five, four to five or whatever I know
they is they shot it down with five defensive backs
on the field. That is is concerning if I'm Georgia,
because look, let's be hones, that's in Bennett is going
prom with something other than sports, you know what I'm saying,
Like he's not gonna be he Like I get it,

(01:40:05):
he was still disagree with. I still think he's gonna
be on somebody's NFL roster on kickoff Sunday. But I mean,
but realistically, okay, I'll put it like this. If you
have that's in better starting five games for you in
the NFL, what do you think your record toll be?
You gotta give me a team you can you can
pick pick a teen that needs a quarterback right now,
and I'll get and I'll give your record the Titans.

(01:40:27):
Oh to prove man three and two and four and one.
You got Derrick Henry right well, he's a free agent,
so we'll see. But okay, but if you do have
Derrick Henry, I'd say three and two, four and one,
I would I would go the other way. I don't
don't want four and three and are two and three. Yeah,
I don't see it. I don't see it, um in
terms of him being successful at the next level. Like
I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to

(01:40:47):
come at the kid now, but I just think that, like,
if you are gonna be in a position at TC
you made J. J. McCarthy in Michigan, throw the ball.
If you're gonna be in a position where you gotta
throw the ball. I'd rather have a study quarterback. I'd
rather have Williams the quarterback then Stinton Benny. You know
what I'm saying. If if it's going what it all
is going to come down to. But uh, I liked
through for almost four hundred yards in that get Those

(01:41:09):
Ohio State defensive players are all ENUF. There's NFL guys
over there. Man, there's NFL guys on that defense. And
since had been it when they knew he had to
throw the football through for almost four hundred yards and
let his team in the fourth quarter come back. I
just he did it again in the National Championship game
against Bamma last year, in the fourth quarter coming back.
I just I know the numbers, which is weird that

(01:41:31):
people kept saying that all year long. He threw four
more years in the regular season then C. J. Stroud.
He had more passing yard and had thirty seven touchdowns
to since had been It's like one, I get it.
But they run the ball in Georgia, and also in
Georgia there were some games they called the dogs off.
They called the dogs off when they got some big
leagus and just run, run, run, run, so you can't
really pad the stats. Ohio State was covering forty five

(01:41:51):
and a half, forty three and a half, forty seven,
and I lay they were covering like crazy six straight
weeks in the beginning to the middle of the season.
But I I I look at that Georgia's secondary and
I'm with you, man, if they keep, if they're able
to keep uh Max Duggan upright, look out. But Michigan
didn't really falter on defense. They gave up. They beat them,

(01:42:13):
so they gave up the big two blitzers. That that
that they gave up touchdowns. That gave up touchdowns because
they have two blitzer and one. It's not just the
blitz it's also a quarter taking a bad angle of
miss tackle and nobody else is behind him. If he
makes that tackle, that's a five yard game. He misses
the tackle, it's an eighty two yard touchdown catch and

(01:42:33):
then run um. I don't think Georgia will miss tackles
like that. But also, TCUH doesn't have a Marvin Harrison Jr. Now,
but that Quentin John's kid is pretty good. But we'll
see what that That game kicks off Monday night. I'm
looking forward to it. I'm here in Vegas to watch
the game. Uh man, a watch party, right I am
doing a live watch part. I will do that. I

(01:42:55):
will do a live watch party and do that. But uh,
right now, I'm having a watch party because I'm watching
Joshua Dobbs and Trevor Lawrence go toe to toe head
to head, and I'm not sure what one's playing. Better,
Steve the Savior update me on what's going on in
this game and everything else around the world of sports.
What's going on? Hennesse is leading at halftime thirteen to

(01:43:16):
seven at Jacksonville. Winner tonight takes the a f C
South title. Joshua Dobbs twelve or fifteen passing a hundred
fourteen yards in a touchdown. Jacksonville with only a hundred
fourteen yards total as an offense, Derrick Henry seventeen carries
in the first half, seventy one yards rushing. Jacksonville is
a team seven carries just sixteen yards on the ground.

(01:43:38):
Randy Bullock kicked a thirty nine yard field goal on
the final play of the first half of this thirteen
seven lead for the visitors, who are trying to end
a six game losing streak. Bullock had a fifty one
yard field goal in the first quarter that ended about
a ten minute drive. In fact, the Titans lead was
up to ten nothing in the second, now thirteen seven
at the break. Earlier, Kansas City was a thirty one

(01:43:58):
thirteen winner at loss Vegas. The Chief scored on four
of their five drives in the first half. Kansas City
clinches the number one seed in the a f C
and the bye next weekend. The Saints gave Denver permission
to interview coach Sean Payton, who still under contract with
New Orleans TCU. Star running back Kendrew Miller, with a
spring to MCL says he's questionable for Monday Night's National

(01:44:19):
championship game against number one and undefeated Georgia. To college basketball,
Washington State picked up a victory at number five Arizona
seventy four sixty one. Illinois beat fourteenth ranked Wisconsin Duke
a point better at Boston College sixty five sixty four,
Iowa State with the late three gotta win at TCU
sixty sixty seven, and in overtime, Kansas State won at

(01:44:42):
Baylor nine seven ninety five. Right now at halftime top
twenty five match app at Auburn as the home team
ahead of Arkansas thirty six to five. In the NBA
mull Clay Thompson is not playing at Golden State tonight
out with a sore knee. Warriors trailing late first half
a against Orlando sixty two fifty nine. Anthony Lamb has

(01:45:03):
twenty two points off the bench for Golden State in
the first half. Dallas up big mid third quarter seventy
six fifty eight over the Pelicans. Earlier Boston one at
San Antonio one one sixteen, Jayson Tatum thirty four points.
The Phillies acquired all star lefty reliever Gregory Soto from
the Tigers. He had thirty saves last year. Colin Morrikawa

(01:45:24):
now leads by six strokes at the PGA's Tournament of
Champions in Hawaii and in the NHL New Jersey one
and overtime against the Rangers. Columbus in a shootout defeated
Carolina and among the games in progress final seconds of regulation,
Minnesota's tied five five at Buffalo. Again. In the NFL
game tonight, it is halftime at Jacksonville Titans in the

(01:45:45):
lead thirteen to seven. The winner takes the Division Crown
back to you. Thanks Steve Martin vite coming to you
live on the tire rack dot Com Studios VJ. Right now, Uh,
what does the Saturday Night football? I suppose is in
halftime and we're seeing the Shawn's Mick Vey in Peyton
and apparently the two hottest coaches, the two hottest names
in the coaching circle right now as McVeigh may hang

(01:46:06):
them up and Peyton looked like he may come out
of retirement and come back into the NFL. But I
think one thing I was sitting there looking at Sean
McVeigh and the topic that we're about to do next
to where does Tom Brady go next year? I don't
know if that marriage has been talked about or discussed
at all, but I feel like that would be a
good fit where Tom Brady is aware. If Tom Brady
has show him could tell him how connect if Like

(01:46:28):
if if Brady could come to Los Angeles. I don't
think Baker Mayfield is gonna be a long term answer,
but if Brady could come to l A, I think, Hey,
you're gonna get maybe the same type of vibe you
had early Tampa where you're getting guys who are coming
on shorter deals and you're getting guys who are coming
on you know, quote unquote lesser deals, uh knowing they're
kind of taking less money than they could have in
other places because they want to come play with Tom Brady.

(01:46:50):
A guy like Sean McVay seems like he would be
a good fit there. I don't know, that's that's such
a long shot. I get where you're going, and I
just think it's it's such a long shot here. Also,
if just really quick because they just showed, you know,
the clip up of them talking about, uh, Sean Payton
getting the Bronco excuse me getting permission to interview Sean Payton.

(01:47:13):
I'll so simply ask you, bro, if you're Sean paynon
is that that doesn't mean that don't sound like nothing
of the list that you gave the world that you
wanted to your next job to be. There ain't no
golf out there like that. It's not good weather. It's cold,
it's dreary, it's snow, it's sleety, and you're not getting
your own quarterback. He's got a young defense to work with,
but you don't even have a running back that can

(01:47:35):
stay healthy or who can't put them keep the ball
off the turf. It's if you're if you're Sean Payton,
do you have to take that interview even if you
kind of don't want the job or if it doesn't
fit in what you're looking for? Why Sean pagneon taking
the Denver interview, I mean i'd go if I would
really to take the interview, Hight, why not? Why not?

(01:47:56):
Because it's nothing, It's not close to what you said
you were looking for. I mean, I hear what you're saying,
but you know, and that might be part of the
reason why I'm gonna command X y z more dollars
to you know what I'm saying as opposed to know, Yeah,
this situation is super ugly, guys, I don't know if
you saw last year. But also Wilson looks done this,
you know what I'm saying. So it's like all of
these like different avenues as to why to me, that's

(01:48:18):
raising the price if I'm showing me if I'm showing
ownership though, you know, they have to agree to terms
with the New Orleans Shames to release exactly, and I
don't know what the Denver Broncos could move to get
Payton in the building, because it seems as if they
gave everything up to get Russell Wilson in the building. No,
I agree with you, and then not only that it's

(01:48:38):
got First of all, it's got to be enough. I
do agree, you can drive the price up, But now
you're a rookie ownership right there there there. They just
got this team, This ownership group just got this team.
He's coming from where the Saints have lineage ownership, They
have generational ownership, so they know what they're doing. And
I don't know if this squad knows what they're doing.

(01:48:59):
Just no, he does. I mean, hell, they fired, they fired. Well,
you know, the ownership fires the coach, right fired the GM.
You fired the coach. You give your quarterback a guaranteed
over two hundred million dollar deal. Who's playing is? Anybody
can see it's done? He's not. He's never gonna be
the same quteb again. I just I just don't know

(01:49:19):
why you take the even take the interview. I don't.
I don't like that job for him, And dude, that
job used to go to somebody new. If I'm Hardball,
you don't hate the Bronco job. And if I'm Seanpagne
you don't hate the broncho job. Are you kidding me?
That thing is like that, And you gotta beat patting
my homes twice a year, like honestly, that one right there,
that's all I got. Yeah, you gotta be patting my

(01:49:40):
homes in big red. And when you go in and
look at some of these numbers of Patrick my homes, yeah,
versus the West, I mean, I mean, it's it's like,
it's like you want to try to beat that. I
can't even think of a comparison. You know, it's it's
it's it's like seven eleven comparing yourself to a grocery store,
and you know, you want to trying to get groceries

(01:50:00):
like you know what I'm saying, it's like every single
time you're gonna go to the grocery store, even though
they both got milk. You know what I'm saying. Yea,
then is like nineteen dollars they both got milk. I'm
going to the grocery stores like like this. This is
that far off of a comparison, Like, I mean, it's
crazy when you look at my homes through the A
F C. West, he has dominated that division. You know,
I was thinking of like these plays. Everybody like, oh,

(01:50:22):
he could go to the Raiders and reunite with Josh
McDaniel speaking about Brady, and he could go to San
Francisco and all this, and you know, I would like
to see him go. You're bumass New York Jets, I think.
I mean, look, you gotta it's not gonna happen, but
I feel you. But you have a solid defense, all right,
you got uh, what's not a love the other one?
But Garrett Garrett, Garret Wilson, Elijah Moore, Bruce Hall coming

(01:50:46):
back off to a c L. I mean, you gotta
think but that Jets team was was a Mike White
good game away from locking in the playoffs. Spot right, Like,
I think that that team is a team that you
could walk in because I'm thinking this, if I'm Tom Brady,
they want to go in somewhere like Tampa was when
I walked into there. A team that was seven and nine,

(01:51:07):
is right, but it's like, wait, there's a lot of
talent around here. And if the quarterback hadn't thrown thirty interceptions, right,
maybe thirty interceptions in sixteen games, this team would have
probably won the South. Right now, I think if you
look at obviously Buffalo was there, but if you look
at the Jets and the way that their quarterback room
has been this year, if you had some semblance of

(01:51:30):
stability in that thing, I think the Bills would have
really been in competition for the division. Yeah. I I
also I, like I said, I, he's not going to
New York. He's not gonna go to the matches. That
just situation is just not the other thing there for him.
The other thing I would say, why would he want
I would want to go if I'm him, I want
to New York, l A. I want to go somewhere big, big,
and in the scene. But he's got one kid up there,

(01:51:53):
and he's got two kids that are down in South Florida.
And Albert Breyer was on and I listened to the
whole segment was on with Dan Patrick just yesterday morning,
and he said, and we both mentioned the Raiders already
know he can't talk to them, they can't talk to him.
We get all of that, but there is there is
a and this this was his reporting that no, he's
been told that that's where the Raiders are going after like,

(01:52:14):
there's no secrets there only but they're gonna follow the rules,
and they're gonna wait. But there's an unkind of written
there's on the other there's an unseid like wink wink
like shoulder shrug like, No, that's the dude we're going after.
But we gotta play by the rules as far as
everybody can see. But he also says he feels very
strong about the Dolphins, being that he's already down there
in Tampa. Giselle wanted Miami over Tampa anyway, he was

(01:52:36):
already on Stephen Ross's boat. Great communication with him. There's
also another front office guy there. He is super close, Frislane.
These all through, This is all through Albert Brier on
Dave Prattrick yesterday and and this other point he said
makes a ton of sense. And I think you'll agree
with this going into next year. Do you give to
a because you know that that that other option for
coming up going into next year, do you mark wives

(01:52:57):
give to a big deal you al so, no, okay,
but you would probably still see what his injury history
will look like next season, correct, Okay, something like that
traditional deal. So basically, so basically you're on a one
year deal with him, right, We're just kind of one
year deal. Would you rather be on a one year
deal with too or would you rather be on a

(01:53:18):
one year deal with Tom Brady? And that actually made
me sit up. I was sitting in my car drinking coffee.
I actually sat up and said, Wow, that's that's actually
a pretty damn good point, because you're not gonna give
him a deal. I I picked off a fan wouldn't
give to it a deal either, But we're gonna be
on this one year deal. Well, hell if I'd be
on a one year deal with you, But I could
be on a one year deal with Brady and give

(01:53:40):
him to read and waddle and smithe and we, you know,
add to the line again, figure out the defense. I
think bros Is gone, think but I think Bros fired.
I think he's gone. Uh. There's rumors that if Robert
Salas somehow gets released by the Jets or to Jets
say thank you after year two years ago, he has
connections back to San Francisco with mc daniel, there could
be a defensive coordinator coming down to fit. He already
can fix the deep is. We've just seen that. So

(01:54:01):
that was really I open it to me, And I'm
not sure from with that, and not even as a fan,
but man, it makes a lot of sense where people
will say, oh, he's not gonna go to money. I
kind of thought that part of the reason why they
had made all those moves to get the Hill and
Waddle and all that and initially was to try to
get Brady this year. And with all the tampering stuff
that came out, you know, I might do Yeah, that

(01:54:22):
might be real smoked to that fire. But coming up next,
me and VJ will do our best to pick these
week A team games because this is a it is
a madhouse out here in terms of who's playing, who's not,
who's got a sentives, who's got nothing to play for.
We'll get into that next. Fox Sports Radio under centers
Mahomes like coming to Jeff Sleep to Tony at the
Tan on the Indigo breaks to tackle itsite, the five
mirror front pylon, touchdown Kansas City. It just took one

(01:54:48):
more play on the chase run at ship Sweep. That's
the Progressive Play of the Day, Martin and VJ coming
to your live from the tire rack dot Com studios,
and it's brought to you by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes
bundling easily and affordable, and a multipolicy discount by combining
your motorcycle, RV, boat, a TV, and more all your

(01:55:10):
I'll tell you what could Darius Tony had people looking
at some of those Raiders Defenders, uh, looking like they
were on a dance floor with some of the moves that. Yeah.
But uh, before we get into that, let's get into
the picks this week. Boh, you got first of all,
what's the stone call that five block of a week
of the century. I'm gonna jink said, and I'm gonna

(01:55:30):
go with the Eagles. The Giants are not playing any
starters whatsoever, I believe, So if the Eagles do not
cover that spread tomorrow, they should be ashamed of themselves.
But for you guys, we're gonna kick it off here
with the Patriots at the Bills. Obviously an emotional week.
They're Buffalo favored by seven and a half in that one.
Give me the Patriots to cover this. I think the
Bills end up winning. But I'll tell you what's concerning

(01:55:52):
about the pick that I just made. It feels like
the Bills have been kicking the Patriots asked in the
last few times that they have into contact with one another,
especially in that playoff game. I would love to take
the Bills here to cover this seven and a half,
but something's just telling me that, being that the Chiefs
wrapped up number one today, the Bills might just be

(01:56:14):
the can And there's a lot going on up there.
Man's still a lot of motion going on in Buffalo. Man,
I actually like the Patriots right here to cover this
plus seven and a half. All right. Next up, the
Ravens head to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. Uh.
The Bengals are favored by nine here. Look, this is
a tough one, but I'm still gonna take I'm taking
the Bengals in part because the Ravens offensively. Again. They

(01:56:36):
just waved to Shawan Jackson, so he'll be back watching
high school football games with me. Uh down the line.
I just saw that come across the wire. This offense
is absolutely disgustingly terrible, and now Snoopuntley may not go
give me the Bengals. Yeah. I like the Bengals here too, Man,
not a lot to say, No, Lamar Jackson, That's all
I need to hear and earlier in the show, you
guys heard me praising the Bengals and what they look
like right now. Uh, they covered this, non man, This

(01:56:58):
is easy for the Bengals tomorrow. Alright, Giants at Eagles
Philly again minus sixteen or or favored by sixteen in
this one. Yeah, I'll take the I'm gonna take the
Giants in the fifteen and David's webb and closed my eyes,
plugged my nose and just praying, hope. That's my story
and I'm sticking to it. Give me the g man
right here. So I know they're playing a lot of backus,
but those guys still get paychecks to they still go
to play football, and Philly hasn't looked great in the

(01:57:19):
last two to three weeks. So give me the GM
and to cover the spoints part right here. Alright, the
Rams head to Seattle to take on the Seahawks, where
these Seahawks are favored by six Vanilla Brother of the
Week showdown. Yeah, I'm going with I'm going with Baker
mayfielder Sean McVeigh. On the way out the door, they
hand uh, they hand Pete Carroll loss. I think this

(01:57:39):
is the upset of the week. And now once I
always say in pro sports coaching, our player, once you
start talking about walking away in retirement, you're already there.
I think this is an easy cover for the Seahawks.
The Rams show up and play a little bit, but
it's up there. It's cold, supposed to be raining, and
Wendy and then and then and the McVeigh it seems
like he's out the door. And maybe and maybe Matthew Staffords,
who has been on I R, he's putting put on
I R. So he's done for the year. Give me

(01:58:00):
the Seahawks, all right, I'm gonna give you the last
two here, and you guys just do them. Do them.
At the same time, the Lions head to the Green
Bay to take on the Packers, where the Packers are
favorite by five, and Georgia takes on TCU on Monday
in the National title Game, where Georgia is favored by
twelve and a half. I'm taking all the dogs. Give
me the Detroit Lions at Texas Christian University horn Frogs.
They sent they sent Michigan out of the playoffs. Detroit

(01:58:23):
Lions are getting into the playoffs and TCUs don't end
up winning the national title. I think, oh my god,
that's crazy to say right now. One b J at
the start of the year to win the national title. Yeah,
I know, Lions are horrible and Lambeau. Give me the
Packers here with the five and then TCU man I
I would be so happy if they did win, because
the least, as a Michigan fan, I could say, hey,

(01:58:43):
we lost in a team that eventually beating Georgia and
knocked them out. So in my opinion, name, there's not
a lot of shaming. Now you pitched the laws, but hey,
we lost in the national champion, so give me TCU.
I like that the transitive property of losses. We lost
that team last year, but we lost this team this year,
so it actually turns out to be a win. Warten
and b J pashew its rights. It's been fun.
