Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports. Oh yeah, that's right, Martin
Wis VJ. Husky until ten o'clock Eastern Standard time, coming

thousand recommending his dollars Tirac dot com the way tire
buying should be VJA. Football moves fast. Steve the Sager

(00:24):
just told us to score. Well, guess what Kansas City
added the touchdowns in that time period. Patrick Mahomes limping
around like yeah, I was about to make a bad joke.
Patrick Mahomes making around on a on a bad wheel there,
sprained his ankle early in the game, comes back ten play,
seventy five yards. Look at him, he's being helped up
by Travis Kelsey. And by the way, Travis Kelsey helping

(00:45):
the Kansas City Chiefs right here. Seventeen targets, fourteen receptions VJ.
That is an NFL postseason record by Travis Kelsey in
terms of receptions. It was from formerly tied with Kellen
Winslow in Memphis Grizzly aficionado and sharp at thirteen of peace,
Travis Kelsey in there as well. Now Kelsey stands alone

(01:05):
atop the receptions mountain for tight ends in the postseason
with fourteen on, seventeen targets and seventeen Kansas City as always,
the Big Vanilla, Big Vernon Husky VJ and the build
him and what's going on? Everybody? What's up? Martan? What's up? Everybody?
Has everybody doing out there? Listening land Fox Sports Readio,
listen to Martin and VJ. Yes, man, Kelsey is he's

(01:25):
doing work. And here here's the thing. You and I
and and Steve, we're just talking before we came on air.
How how are you not covering a unanimous first team
All Pro tight end who is now being talked about
being probably in the top three. Would you agree with
that of all time? You know, top three tight ends.
Some people are saying he's better than Grounk, like he's

(01:47):
that guy. And twice in the red zone he's not
beating his man. He's completely uncovered like you were. There's
no guy near him, and defenders for Jacksonville are turning
all around and looking at each other, and it's crazy
to sit and watch pro athletes that have been doing
this all their life make those type of mistakes and
leave a great player, a legendary, historical player like Travis

(02:09):
Kelsey open like that. So that's how you get records
and that's how you get those numbers. But aside of
all of that, with this game, man Doug Peterson is
being out coached severely. Andy Reid is taking him to
the house. When Mahomes goes down, there's no way I'm
not press coverage and I'm sitting six or seven guys
for like four or five straight plays, I'm gonna test
the ankle. But you're dropping back. You're letting him actually

(02:31):
still limp around and move and complete passes and get
passes off no way. And then on the offensive side
of the ball, they're running the ball to get whatever
they want on the ground, market whatever they want. Travis E.
T n is looking like that guy that we thought
he was gonna be coming out of Clemson. And you
start running the ball, and when you do drop back
passes straight back, there's no play action. If I'm a
linebacker a corner, I'm not food. I know what passes coming.

(02:53):
So he I mean, just those things that Doug Peterson,
I get Jacksonville a lot of credit, and uh, last
week I was wrong. I was wrong. I sat on
here and I said that game was over, and I
thought about you the men he kicked that field goal.
I'm like, I wonder if I'm gonna hear about this,
and I should because I was adamant about it and
I was wrong. But this game right here, man, and uh,
in my I like to do. Don Draper said it

(03:14):
best when Peggy, I know you don't watch TV, but
everybody was all mad. I watched TV. We just talked about.
Now we'll get into that in a little bit. But
Deandreper said it best because Peggy Olsen, one of his protege's,
his confidants that he brought up in the office especially
to is set in the sixties or seventies, so it's
not a lot of women around there in the first
place I know of. I've just never watched. So Peggy
goes into Don's office. She's like, don you never give

(03:34):
me any credit friendy of my ideas. They're advertising his sex.
He never give me any credit, friend of my ideas.
He turned to her and he says, Peggy, that's what
the money is for So I didn't need to go
in and say you old be that you were wrong.
You know why because I'll put that eleven and one
bet in on the Jaguars seven and seven. You want
it was six points, You're like, give me six points

(03:55):
and and I will put it down. So not so
props man like, but I'm a guy that will come out.
I don't mind coming. I was saying I was wrong,
but I didn't. I didn't think they come back from
twenty seven another neither. There a lot of people you're
smart and betting. You took a bet that would work
out best for you without without at least loss as
possible with gods like you, and I did so smart batman.
But Jacksonville, Uh, you know, they look completely different in

(04:15):
the first half than the team we saw in the
second half. And they're starting to be the pattern with them.
They can't put together three and have three full quarters
of real consistent football. And right now, Patrick, my homes
is still willing around, limping around, and you're letting this
man complete passes and throw the ball all over the field.
So uh. And the thing about this though, my takeaway
from this game a game the Kansas City should win

(04:36):
with seven minutes left in the game. Uh as Jacksonville
last second attend. There have been some things defensively. I
don't love out the Kansas City and they also they've
given up forty three yards on average on kick returns.
I have been talking about the Kansas City defense. You know,
I feel about their offense, and we'll get into that
later this in the in the show, but I've been
telling people, I just I don't like their defense when

(04:58):
they're gonna go against how powered offense. I have a
list of games that they've given up twenty thirty thirty
plus points to bad teams. Denver Bronco, Yeah, were not
just the different Broncos, the Raiders twice they took them.
It took them. The defense couldn't stop the Houston Texans.
Like it's one, guys, I know what numbers look like,
but I'm not a numbers guy. You're not gonna mathematics

(05:19):
me to death. That's not the guy I am. I
watched the film, I watched the games, and I'm watching
the defense like, yeah, you have my holes that cover
a lot of that. But when you're gonnagainst Borrow, are
you gonna against Allen it's gonna be different, and they're
going against Lets get they're gonna gaint Trevor Lawrence props
to them, but you're right six with some change up ten,
they should win this football game. I mean, this is
a game and plus two. If you're the Chiefs, you

(05:40):
know have been I mean it's been the a f
C Championship has been at Arrowhead, you know, it's it's
been Kanda. It's the Kansas City invitation at this point
terms or not in terms of the that's pretty much
city invitation. And if you go in there and you
beat them like Cincinnati the last year, but also some
mean King State kings, right, and that's where kind of
where Kansas City is. And if anybody's got claimed to it,
it would be since and Natty. But ultimately, over the

(06:01):
last half a decade, it's been pretty much the chief
Since it's been Mahomes and Andy Reid. It's been my
homes and Andy Reid. I'm glad you said it like
that too, because I get tired of here my holes
and holes and holes and homes. Y'all stop disrespecting Andy
Reid like that. That man he took the Eagles to
five conference championship games. So if he goes, if he
wins to day, guess what that's ten Like, come on, God,
stop disrespecting Andy Reid. So but the thing, the thing

(06:25):
is about this game, and you know we're gonna get
into Mahomes and this m VP Candida to see later.
I mean, this is one of the things that it
benefits you to have a backup quarterback, and it benefits
you to seriously, he played the whole He played their
backup quarterback, played fifteen minutes in this game, fifteen minutes
in this game and engineer where but and this is

(06:50):
the second time since it's been Mahomes and Andy Reid
that and he came in there in a in a
spot you have to have it, Okay. It wasn't like no,
we need like to figure it out and feel good
about it after team had to have it. Oh yeah, Team,
I thought when when when that graphic came, I was like,
damn fifth wow. But Chad hinting his career's got a
driver's license almost as we Christian Kirk limping to the sidelines.

(07:14):
But I think, honestly, this is your things that if
I'm Kansas City, I'm sitting here I'm watching. I mean,
it's been a great season by Jacksonville, you know what
I'm saying. They had a great second half. You gotta
feel good if you're a Jacks fan. You're kind of
further along than you would have expected just this time
last year. Right, and again, this game is not over.
There's seven minutes left in the game. But I'm looking

(07:34):
at this just holistically, because, like you said, Doug Peterson
getting kicked up and down the field in times of
coaching and and just Kansas City is going to be
the team more than likely that represents an NFC championship.
It's impossible not to see their flaws as opposed to
Jacksonville is doing well right now, which isn't much, and
it's not much because of the play calling. They have,
the weapons. They their offense went from I think dead

(07:57):
last to what like top ten this year, top fifteen somewhere,
and that it took it major I think sixteen. It
took a major leap. So you know, they have weapons,
you have the franchise quarterback. I'm not doubting Trevor Lawrence.
I thought he had a crappy first half and I thought,
and I said, he should have bitched him. That's what
I would have done. I would have been wrong in
that case. So, but you know, he's still your franchise guy,
and you have weapons. You got running back, you got receivers,

(08:19):
and you have a really good offensive line. You have
to make better play calling, like this play right here
where it's a it's a once again open guy coming unblocked.
You have to coach that up man. That can't happen
on the road. Well, that does happen right, either either
the quarterback miss the blitz read right, or your offensive
line whatever's calling out protections misses that read or you

(08:41):
know they've been heating they've been heating you up from
that side of the whole time. Maybe need the chip
guy over there, put a tight end over there, put
a running back over there, so it goes. It's it's
a two way street. It's both coaching and your scheme
and what you're doing, and then also being able to
adjust on the fly and being like, all right, hey,
I got I got this. My nickel corner on the
right side is coming hot. I need you to run
an in cut, not a go ball, because I need

(09:03):
you to be ready on two steps to catch this pass.
And that's what I'm seeing a little bit here of
now there. I mean, Frank Clark is getting off the
ball and crazy. That looks like a come and look
like offsides on Frank Clark. But their idea that the
Kansas City teams are they're getting off the ball really
really fast, and it doesn't seem as if the Jaguars
are making the necessary blocking adjustments. And and let me

(09:24):
let you on the little secret folks. If you can't
block it, you can't call it. If you can't block it,
you can't run it. Yeah. Not only that though, And
and I'm gonna give Trevor Lawrence a big pad on
the back here because as much as I killed him
in the first half last week, he showed that pedigree
in the second half. And I'm watching him now and
he looks like he's got that bounce back again. He's
got that focus like he looks like right now he looked. Yes,

(09:46):
he's competing. And when we watch young quarterbacks were so
we're spoiled and then we don't want to let guys grow.
And in term, I love using now microwave society. It's
gotta be right now, instant. If it's not, we throw
it in the trash. Watching Trevor Lawrence take those lumps
and then come back and then actually take some lumps
and miss some throws today and still competing this hard
in the second half in Arrowhead in the divisional round

(10:08):
in his second year in the league. I love when
we get a chance to watch young quarterbacks grow until
what they're we think they're gonna be on that star level.
That's what I'm seeing out of Trevor Lawrence. So kudos
did that young kid for staying focused, staying locked in
and knowing, hey, I'm still the dude. Don't get it twisted.
I had a hiccup, but here we go. And I
like that from young quarterback. And that was my thing
last week. I know he was playing obviously terribly, and

(10:30):
you were saying the bench and when I say you
can't necessarily do it, I hear you. I hear you.
Like in terms of tough man, well, in terms of
in terms of completing the job of quarterback, he was
doing a very very poor job. But the whole my
whole thing was, look, you have invested in this guy,
the number one overall pick. We're gonna sit here and

(10:51):
see you right here, right now what we got. And
I think that that was I mean, if you're a
Jaguars fan, if you're a Jaguars front office, I mean this.
These aren't like Kings state Kings. Like Omar said and
the wire right there, the Kings stay the king, alright,
So like until Kansas City is dethroned. Right, And I look,
I know what happened last year. Don't get me wrong
with the biggest Bengals fan you could have found last

(11:13):
year a f C playoffs. But they're not quite dethroned yet, alright?
So are they the Kings? Are they just the favorite
because they have what is proceded as the best quarterback?
In football? Are they? Are they truly the Kings? But
I think they won the Super Bowl two eighteen. I
think those two things are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Right,

(11:33):
They are the Kings of the a f C at
this point. And I know that Cincinnati just beat them,
But historically over the last ten five five years, right,
and the Patriots beat them too, that we've lost two
of these five would it be in five five possible
a f C championship games, they've lost three? Everyon're not mistaken?
Have they lost? You're right, They've only been to two
Super Bowls, they lost three of them. You're right, But

(11:54):
what I'm saying is, though, if you want to represent
half of it, it's like the thing with Lebron. Half
of the Eastern Conference was represented by Lebron for like
fifteen years, you know what I'm saying with like half
of the Eastern Conference finals was represented by Lebron. So like,
if you are the mar Derosion, for example in Toronto,
your biggest issue with the Eastern Conference finals is that
you kept running into Lebron, Like you know what I mean,
Like you might have so like that's what I'm talking

(12:16):
about in terms of you're gonna have to beat this
team to win anything in the a f C. Right,
like you're the Patriots. Like Patriots team went on to
win the Super Bowl. You know what I'm saying. If
you want to if you want to get to the place,
you have to beat this team. Right here, The Pats
were true Kings of that era. Even though they were cheating,
they were still the Kings because they were winning. They
weren't just getting there, they were winning. I think we

(12:39):
at this dynasty that we're naming the Chiefs right now,
I just I caution people just be weary about it,
because once again, I'm not saying they're not good. I'm
not saying they're not great. And I'm which I'm not
saying that kings that of the a f C. Okay,
but we are talking about kings of the a f C.
That's why I'm talking about right now, talking about if
I'm coming from the Jacksonville perspective, I won my division.

(13:00):
Feel good about that. I look around my division Tennessee.
You know, they're kind of in a state of flux.
Tootins terrible, Indianapolis terrible. Okay, So I feel good about that.
I had one of the more historic comebacks in NFL
history right in the first round. Feel great about that,
seeing everybody bounce back. And right now I'm down ten

(13:21):
to one of the pre eminent teams in the NFL.
I like say, like in terms of things to build on,
when last year your head coach was kicking the kicker, okay,
like like that was just three d sixty five days ago.
So is it fair? Is it fair to say that
they would be in this position today whether they played
the Chiefs, the Bills, or the Bengals. We don't think

(13:41):
they would want any of those other games, right if
they played the Bills that they with Dave One, probably not.
I don't know the Bengal. So that's why I get
what you're said. Cincinnati in Kansas City or in a
different class in Buffalo and the rest. I think Cincinnati,
Kansas City or in a different class of top to ANFC.
You got Kansas City out of a point, Cincinnati from
the right, Cincinnati from the Scott the weapons. Yeah, I

(14:03):
mean that's what And then defensive coaching is is is
great in that book. But I'm just saying, like if
I'm if, I if I am the Jaguars right now,
plus like Calvin Ridley off the fifth team, like Parlay
suspensioned coming back next year, like and I look at
the way that Trevor Lawrence trusts his guys, right, and
it's it'll be better when this guys are No, it's
no shade, but better than Marvin Jones and Za Jones

(14:25):
and Christian Kirk and also time with each other experience.
This is this is a game that teaches young players experience,
like you gotta go through these lumps. Everybody can't get
there and win it right away. That's why I think,
once again, we're so spoiled that when we see it
and then you have that great player, we think that
that's what everybody is supposed to do. And if Jordan's
and Magic and Bird and Brady and Elway and Montana

(14:49):
and Walsh, if those guys didn't show us, that's just
not how sports goes. You and I were talking last week,
or and like college football people want to talk about
there's no parody. There's ten teams, a twelve team. Excuse me,
one of the last twenty championships. Guys, that's not parody.
And Alabama's got six of them. They've got six of
they have half of what's been one. So you know,
I just, I just I feel where you're going. But

(15:11):
I don't. I don't. I guess it feels moral loss
to me, Like, oh, it's it's a moral victory. Okay.
The rule Jamal agnew fumble as Jacksonville was driving, I
mean inside their own ten yard line, Kansas City recovered.
I'll tell you what. Just listen to this. Travis t
t n tent for sixty two to Michael A four

(15:31):
for thirty six. I mean, Christian Kirk won for eighteen
at six point two yards to carry, nine yards to
carry and then eighteen yard and carry and Jacksonville refuses
to run the ball. More on this game coming up

Lawrence didn't look like he was ready today as much
as we were just singing his praises and we suck
his phrases earlier this year, all through the season, I said,

(16:58):
I said, with four or five times yet his best
four or five games in his career. But right here,
I think this was a three time. Two turnovers for
the Jaguars and last three players Jamorrowack Knew fumble, Trevor
Lawrence interceptions on He's got five interceptions in his last
two playoff games. That's that's you gotta fixed up. Well,
I mean four came in one game. There's five. The

(17:23):
first one was still five year at the end of
the day is still five. And ultimately, you do have
to take you do have to take care of the ball.
And that's you know football one on one I got
from Brandon Marshal a million times on TV. Ball security
is job security. Oh my god, bro, It's almost like
best ability to be The best ability is availability. Your

(17:45):
best ability in sports is can you play? And then
once you're playing, then everything else falls and key But
like you said, ball in football, you turn the ball over.
If you you want to know who wins the game,
just go look at the turnover ratio. To turnover ratio
tells a lot. There's not a lot of teams in
the league that are in the negative that make it
to the playoffs. That's even just getting to the playoffs.
You have to be almost even close to even or
are in the plus and turnover ratio to make it

(18:08):
to the playoffs in the NFL. And that takes a
lot of taking care of the football man, and they
haven't done that. And he just threw an interception. Kudos
to the defensive back with the one hand snag like
like Kobe, you know what I'm saying, catching a one
hand lob. That was beautiful. So you know that's a
rap though, So they cover al was the sprayer had
they covered? Kansas City right now is currently covering nine

(18:29):
and a half, So the backdoor is open, I suppose.
But Kansas City does have the ball. Actually no, it's not.
Kids two minutes left in the game, Kansas City's got
the ball to time outs. Jacksonville, the team that would
need timeouts, has none remaining. So that was Jalen Watson
with that interception. That was I mean, that was a
hell of a catch. Is that Randy Watson's cousin? I don't,
I don't know. Do you know Randy Watson is Right now?

(18:51):
The only person that's sticking in my head is Randy
Watson is the guy who's song you got a friend
with me? But that's Randy Newman. Okay, so then that's
not Randy Watson. You guys don't know who Randy Watson is. Man,
Randy Watson from coming to America with Sexual Chocolate. Y'all
don't know about Randy Watson. Oh wow, y'all these guys
are young. Okay, I didn't know that was Watson. I

(19:12):
know who this shirt? Randy Watson World Tour. Are you
kidding me? Ya don't know. I believe the Children on
the Future, thank you come on coming to America, do
you know? Oh? I can't believe y'all miss that like that.
My feelings just now. I can't believe you'll just missed
the Randy Watt Okay, Well, you know what. To be fair,

(19:34):
I showed you earlier today a very funny meme of
Carmelo soprano and furio. You watch the Sopranos, Chris perfect, Okay,
my family's Italian, of course we okay. So look it's
Carmelo soprano in furio and it's said. The caption was,
look how proud Trevor Lawrence's parents are right? And look
because it's because of the hair. I had no idea,
you know what it was talking about this? This I

(19:56):
find gool. So let me all right, so let me
ask you. Let me ask you this. You think more
people have not seen the Sopranos or more people have
not seen Coming to America? I think, what do you
think it is? I would say more people have seen
the Sopranos and coming to a stop. Man, stop playing
with me, Stop playing with me coming to America. I'm
not as a top like, I'm not saying all time.

(20:18):
I don't think the Suprise just why I haven't seen it?
You guys watch it? Would you rank the top ten
TV show of all time? Top three? Wow? Top three? Yes? No, yes,
it's that good like I'll put it like this, man,
I just recently rewatched Breaking Bad. It does not It's
not in the same category to me as The Wire
and The Sopranos. But it's very, very good. I know.

(20:40):
That's another one that people have in their top four
or five. It starts out rough. The first two season
is a little rough. Now at the end of that thing,
that thing heats up the Sopranos as soon as Tony
pulls into that driveway in New Jersey. From the first
opening moment, that thing is going start to fight. As
I told you, I just I just say that to
my is like a legend, and that that's the guy

(21:01):
who plays the put it like this bro. They talk
about James gandel Feni as an actor like the people
who work with him and co star with him as
Kansas City as give the ball back to Jacksonville. That
back door just opened up a little bit more. But
they talk about James Gandelfini as an actor the way
that people talk about playing with Michael Jordan's. Wow, I'm
not that's not an exaggeration. Like if you google I

(21:23):
bet if you just google Michael Jordan of acting, you
would find people saying it was James gandels Well. As
I said, I just saved it to my que about
a week ago. I was looking for new shows that
I haven't seen, but a show that would be new
to me that I haven't watched from the past, that
I might have missed out on that was really popular.
They just put Sopranos on it, so I was like, Okay,
I like mob movies. I like I like the Italian
mob stuff. I watched all those movies. I've never seen

(21:45):
this show because when I was young, when it was
on in my early twenties with my crib, Basic Cable
didn't have HBO, so I didn't watch the Sopranos because
it was on HBO. But now that it's on, I
will check it out. I will bench watch it and
give me a month and I'll tell you, guys if
it's top ten of all time. Kansas City is now
leading this game by ten. Taxonville has the ball, nice

(22:06):
pump thing by Trevor Lawrence to avoid the rush they're
driving down the field as we see what looks like
to be a first down completion is a Jones. I'll
give the rest of this game and everything else trending
in the world of sports state Steve Let's trend to
my guy, Well, we got another game coming up in
Philadelphia eight fifteen pm Eastern time. Fox TV will have

(22:26):
the Eagles hosting the New York Giants now in Kansas City.
Today we had temperatures in the thirties. We're gonna have
temperatures in the thirties in Philly, and tomorrow temperatures in
the thirties. Buffalo as a home game against Cincinnati. The
Bengals are missing three injured offensive lineman this weekend. The
late game Sunday is on Fox TV six thirty pm
Eastern Time, Dallas at San Francisco. The Niners have won

(22:47):
eleven in a row. Cowboys tackled Jason Peters is out
this weekend with a hip injury. Just under a minute
to go in the divisional playoff game with the Chiefs
going to beat Jacksonville. Chiefs up ten twenties, Sevan seventeen.
Patrick Mahomes, despite the sprained ankle, has gutted through with
two touchdown passes. Chad Henny with to one touchdown pass

(23:09):
off the bench, and I say Pacheco on only twelve
carries ninety five yards rushing for the Chiefs. Travis Kelsey
fourteen receptions, eight yards and two scores about forty seconds left.
It's twenty seven seventeen k C. And keep in mind,
if the a f C Championship game is Buffalo against
Kansas City, it'll be at a neutral site Atlanta, but

(23:31):
Kansas City against anyone else would be in k C.
But for Atlanta, they did announce this past week, fifty
thousand plus tickets were sold in the first twenty four
hours as they contacted the season ticket basis of those
two cities. To college basketball, Number two Kansas was stomped
at home Number fourteen TCU took it to him eighty
three sixty the final, and number eleven Arizona defeated fifth

(23:55):
ranked U c l A fifty eight fifty two, eighth
ranked Xavier with a in number nine Tennessee and number
ten Virginia with wins at Oklahoma State Cowboys edge number
twelve Iowa State sixty one to fifty nine. And in
the NBA, the Boston Celtics won their ninth straight game
one oh six, one oh four a Toronto Jalen Brown
twenty seven points, even though Jayson Tatum was out with

(24:16):
a sore wrist. Marcus Smart Celtics left with his sprained ankle,
center Robert Williams and Boston left with a knee injury,
and former Trailblazers announcer Bill Showenley died today at the
age of ninety three. Back thanks Steve. Right now, thirty
seconds left in this divisional round matchup Riley Peterson lining

(24:37):
up to do nothing but blow the cover everybody who
took Kansas City right now, I mean, this is oh,
it's bad, it's good. It's good. Hold on to those
Jacksonville plus ten tickets are plus nine and a half
because it looks like you might be aheaded to the
window with that bad boy right there. Myself included as
I had a Kansas City by this nine and a

(24:57):
half ticket. I'll tell you what I know, it's the
dumbest that I ever heard of. So now, after conducting,
after after making this field goal, Jacksonville will attempt an
on side kick. I don't know, I'm going ahead, you know,
I j I didn't say it last week, I'll say
it this week. This game is over. Well, I mean,
that's not fair. With twenty five seconds, that's such a
you know what, it wasn't over, It's not It's not

(25:20):
over for the better three or fifty six five AEM
have been recovered by the kicking team. We'll see it's
game over. We'll see if the Jaguars can make it
four seven. Man, are you kidding? Y'all? Listen to this
seconds minutes over. I figured though, Man, I never think

(25:42):
that a altime kicks is gonna be recovered. I'm always
surprised when it happens, because, like you said, it's five percent,
So I'm never like, yeah, they're gonna get this one. No.
And plus they change the rules. You can't overload the
side like you used to be able to. You can't
touch it. Certain players can't move off the line like
it's it's it's way different now, and kickers don't know
how to kick it anymore. You watch these balls just

(26:03):
scrape across the ground. All the guy has to do
on the return team is standing there. You can't hit them,
and you can't get to him. You can't leave the
kicking line at a certain time. So that's why it's
I think that was terrible. Did you see that? I
think the strategy on these now are just kick it
as hard as you can act a defender had somebody

(26:23):
on the receiving tea and bank that they're going to
make a mistake. As ka Darius Tony did not make
a mistake just now. Patrick Mahomes will take to him.
That's because it rolled to him, so he didn't have
he wasn't gonna be. But whether the ball football bounce
is funny, you know what I mean? It could roll up,
bounce up weird. I don't know that. I mean the
last one I can think off the top of my
head that looked like it had some real strategy to
it was the watermelon kick executed by the Atlanta Falcons

(26:45):
on the Dallas Cowboys in whatever happened to driving the
ball down and getting that big pop off the second bounce.
Remember that every kicker used to try it like that
back in the day. Why did that change where they
would trying to drive it into the ground. And you
want one too, and on that third one you with
the big hop skip so it goes high. You get
a chance for your guys to get down there, hit
a guy or everybody go up and you know see

(27:06):
who comes down with it? Do anybody want? I think
the one I think that pops directly to mind is
Brandon Bostick fumbling that for the Packers in this many
moons ago. One of the one of the many things
that Aaron Rodgers and his fans point too is why
he can't win us can't win a playoff game. No,
but that game was not Aaron Rodgers fault, is what

(27:29):
it is. Anyway. I think I ended up being outlawed
in part, or not outlawed, but kind of coached out.
Because if you can't get the running start, I think
you lose the momentum on it. Okay, all right, see,
so they changed the rules which made the kick or
have to change how they kick, and you get five
percent out of that. So also to we're I don't
I don't know if we've given enough credit to Pat Mahomes.

(27:49):
I don't. I know. I'd be a fer. I was
about to talk about, yeah the game to end. Yeah, okay, yeah,
I know. I know we'd be offending you know, the
Pat Mahome lovers out there that'd be hitting us up
with and we and we love it. Man going to
the Twitter, man, my man Alan out there says why
do you hate my homes at Husky and the table
and shake my head you and Mario White's hey, no
on the Chiefs is unbelievable. They're winning this game with

(28:13):
with a one legged Mahomes. You're so focused on tear
down the cheese, you ignored the gusty performance by my
Homes and the overall team step it up. So and
you know why I'm laughing because he's right. I wasn't
about to take no. I was not good about this.
I'll let everybody know what my plan was. I can't
speak for v J, but while the game was while

(28:37):
the game was going on, I had of doing that
kind of Jaguars post mortem. Because now the game is over,
Kansas City has advanced to the NFC Championship Game. Unless
we can talk about the fact that this guy came
back in Okay after what looked like I mean, obviously
the replay angle was terrible. You saw you saw him.

(28:59):
It was his knee looked like it was something that
was gonna keep him out for the game. You saw
him in the moment run to the sideline, stick his
ankle out like he wanted somebody to shine his shoe, right,
And then all of a sudden, he's like, you know,
what's trash that they're going to the playout there. I'll
go out there and then he like, I'm sitting there
watching the game thinking he's got to come out because

(29:21):
he like, first of all, you know the basic level
of are you gonna be able to protect yourself? Right?
If you are, you gonna be able to have the
getaway speed you need to be able to be an
effective player. Secondly, are you gonna be able to play
and throw the ball? Right? So you see all this happening,
and he goes in the halftime and you get some
extra tape comes back. Now maybe they shoot it up
or whatever is about to say, what just extra tape?

(29:43):
Come on? Now? What just extra tape? Well, I don't
I don't know. I don't I know, Okay, we'll find
you don't have I don't know. It was not reported
that it was shot up, so I don't know. They
don't always report that generally. That's the questions you think
they're gonna report when a player gets shot up? Now
in really, I'm seeing generally yes, and I didn't. I
think they do report because that's the conversation for a

(30:05):
different day. If he gets a shot during this week
or something, I think they'll say, yeah, you know, give
the ankle quarters on who give us some type of
shot or something, but I don't think they'll come out
bout Yeah, we wantn't to have time to take it
shot it up for him, you know. I mean in
today's world, man, oh, they don't care about the player
to get to way too much of that. So I
just don't think that wouldever come out. But when I'm
watching that guy, there are reports of people who get
shots in the locker room. Like we hear about it.

(30:27):
It happens. But Adam Kaplan, who was on with Steve
Hartman and he from Salam said it looked like a
low ancle sprain to him. He's been doing it, he said,
for he said, for twenty five years. Low ankle spraining.
I think gives you an opportunity to get some rest
on it, but ultimately you only get eight days off
now between now in the ANFC Championship game, I think

(30:47):
you have to expect that it. Mahomes will not see
the practice field for the rest of the for this,
for this week, tonight and uh and it's gonna be
full on an effort in recovery from now until snap
of the a the first snap of the ANFC Championship game.
The question is we saw him finish. Now, a lot
of that's gotta do with the you know, the uh,

(31:09):
what's the word I'm looking for, nothing, adrenaline. The adrenaline's
coursing through the body, you know, the fight or flight.
He's able to kind of block it out. Maybe got
a shot at halftime, maybe not. We saw him prior
to definitely getting a shot in the first half, running
out there and limping around. There's no question that if
Patrick Mahomes is healthy, he's the guy you want out there.
It's just the question of how healthy will he be

(31:31):
able to be As we sit here looking at him,
talk to Melissa start. We'll we'll find that out, or
maybe we won't. I don't think we'll ever find out
exactly how healthy or how hurt he really is. Like
you said, they're going to the AFC Championship Game. It's
a sportsmanship at this point. I'm not about to tell
you all of that either. We'll we'll get as vague
information as we can. It will probably be day to day.
Right now, you're not ruling them out. It'll just be

(31:52):
day to day. I don't even think they'll put a
questionable for Sunday, and no he if he can play.
He's gonna go. Everybody knows that. So but to refute
the low ankle sprain, I thought, and maybe I misheard,
I thought during the broadcast, I heard them say it
was reported as a high ankle sprain and he was
questionable to return when he came back out of the
locker room. So I didn't I didn't hear low. I

(32:13):
heard high was repeating with Adam Kaplan said, and he
said in the thing that in his hit with Steve
and Eve from that had it been a high ankle sprain,
he likely would not be able to continue playing. Okay, well,
we'll see what it is, and we'll see what its diagnosed,
as you know, officially from UH team and team doctors.
Hopefully we get it tonight, but most likely it'll probably
be tomorrow. But it's gonna balloon up. I've twisted my ankle.

(32:35):
My right ankle looks like it still has half an
orange in it. It never really illed all the way
down with so much car tissue around it. So when
people see my ankles, they're like, dude, what the I'm like, yeah,
I used to twist my ankles and broke one all
the time in football. I have what they call basketball ankles.
If the pavement is uneven, I gotta watch how I'm walking. Man,
My ankles will buckle easily, so I know what it
feels like and it will balloon up tonight. But gutsy

(32:57):
performance man is still come out there and limp around
and get it done. He did show that does show
a lot of heart. And I know I banged on
pat my Homes a little bit, but I always gotta
give him his props also too. He came back in
the game play like a soldier supposed to play for
his squad and all, and they needed it because I
don't know if any would have been able to continue
when he did shout out the Michigan alum ninety eight
yard drive. That's that's just crazy. He comes in the

(33:19):
game cold and drives ninety eight yards. And it's not
just handing the ball. The first play, the first pass
from the end zone is the first plays a pass
like Andy Reid called a pass play for him. Like
it's just brillier stuff, man, and and and gut and
you know that's football and soldiers made up so problems.
Do you Pat My Homes especially happy, especially too, because

(33:39):
you don't I don't want to say you don't get
the opportunity to show toughness in this game obviously, but
I think ultimately, when you have guys who are the
protected class in football, right, the quarterback, they're they're to
protected class, they get mad when they hit him. They
you hit him too hard. That's a fifteen yard penalty, right,
even when you pull them down now, right, So I think,

(34:00):
But I do think though, it's got to be a
little bit galvanizing for a team when they see the
quarterback go down and then come back out and it's like, look,
I'm not exactly playing different games. Well, they know they
know you see you see Brady and them turn around,
look at the referee like, raf, did you not see
him touch me in my face? Mask? Throw the flag please?
So I think it's something when you see them guys

(34:20):
come out there, they turn and as they turned an
ask for the call now man. And so I think
when you on the back side, when you see somebody
come out play through injury and I mean was bawling,
like I mean, was bawling before he got hurt. After
he got hurt, you know, it took him a little
bit to get in back and back and rhythm and flow.
But came out and really, like you said, needed him
in this game. They only won by a touchdown as

(34:42):
Jacksonville was driving the fall. Also real quick, I told
you earlier when we first got it came in the studio,
didn't they look fresh? They they they were doing what
they wanted to do before he got hurt. They were
moving the ball up and down and felt everything they
went to was working. As I'm watching the game, you
know me, I love body language. I love watching players
and energy. The body will tell you. And I'm like,
I'm like, damn, they're flying around. It look fresh. They're

(35:02):
getting awful plots, They're they're penetrating, They're catching every receiver. Question.
They looked like they had a week off. It took
advantage of it, man, And I think we might see
that coming up all so later coming up next Uncle
v J's Corner, we could talk about how complicated other
banks make it to redeem credit card rewards, or we
can talk about how we discover you can redeem rewards
for cash and any amount at any time. I mean

(35:24):
talk about amazing learn more discover dot com slash redeem
awards terms do apply. Martin and b J. Coming to
it now till ten o'clock Eastern Standard time. Coming to
your life from the tirect dot com studios. Jalen Hurts
is out there warming up the troops VJ. He's waving
that left arm. Mind you left arm around, not just
right when waving that left arm around, trying to get

(35:46):
the Philadelphia's Philadelphia Eagles ready for their playoff divisional matchup
against the nf UP colleague against the New York Giants.
But right now it's time for Uncle Vj's corner. It'll
be time and Uncle Vj's corner just a moment. That's
a vanilla brother of the week. Gather around. It's that

(36:07):
time of the week. Oh man, it's that time of
the day. I've been telling y'all. Man. Yes, it's time
for everyone's favorite huncle. And you add the cherry on
the top. It's time for Uncle v J's corner. Yes, sir,
a big vanilla VJ husky a k Uncle VJ. Man,
welcome to Vj's corner. Sit over here chilling on the

(36:30):
bitch where I'll miss him on the corner. Man, y'all
come have a seat, man, because I gotta tell y'all
something real fast about this week's Vanilla Brother of the Week.
I don't have any notes normally I think about this stuff.
It just hit me though, thinking about the cafeteria scuffle
that I saw TV last night, that everybody was going
crazy about today. Off of that, somebody's name started trendy.

(36:51):
He was a person that a lot of people didn't like.
I never had a problem with him. I thought what
he was doing was great for what he needed to
do it for, and that was his three sons, his
last name, and his legacy. He may have been brash.
He may have said he could beat Jordan's one on
one back in the day. He even said that his
son was better than Steph Curry, four time NBA champion,

(37:13):
two time m v P one unanimous and all the
other stuff that he's won, and the greatest pure shooter
God ever created. And sitting down to earth he said
some wild stuff on TV got kicked off of a
certain network started a sneaker brand was charging forty seven
thousand dollars a pair and wanted us to pay. Will
we pay for the Gucci? Will we pay for the Findy?

(37:33):
Will we pay for the Louis Vutton? And a dude
like me felt him on that even though I ain't
buy that. But last night, this man is trending, and
I'm like, what, why are y'all talking about this gentleman.
Y'all are still hanging on this gentleman. And all he
did was raised his three sons in their life every
day and got all three of them to create general

(37:56):
rational wealth for the last name, the DNA and the
lineage and what we all want to do for our families.
And y'all still hating on this man, and y'all still
bringing up this man's name in a negative light. It's
time for y'all to pay that man apology. You need
to stand up an applaud of father like him, especially
a black father like him, because the storyline is there's

(38:19):
no black fathers. There's not a lot of us that
we're not We're not good that that that that talks
really out there, He's not that guy. Mr LaVar Ball, Sir,
for what you have done and created generational wealth for
your family and got all three of your boys. That
jellow ain't that nice. But he did just buy all
the acres in the compound next to where he grew up.
I refused to I refused to push that narrative. You

(38:42):
know what Jello got NBA checks bro Okay, now that's cool.
Now that's cool. You can have that. You can have that.
I ain't ad at that. But we also did it.
Just bought the whole acres in compound next to where
he grew up. That's real estate. That's land, that's there's
that's in their name forever. That's what I'm applauded. And
Mr LaVar Ball, you were in the last night m
appear for all the wrong reasons. I'm getting your flowers, sir.

(39:03):
You to me, fellow vanilla brother, you are the vanilla
brother of the week week week week week. Yeah, and
and real talk, if you're ever sitting there like, oh
you know what, liage a little ball never made it
to the league. So ye know, first of all, two
out of three starting players in the NBA is pretty
damn impressive. Second of all, top the top three picks.

(39:25):
And if and if you're and if the other son
li Angelo, I mean a cup of coffee, You know what?
Depressive Having a cup of coffee in the day, that's
depressive as hell. You know who did me, nor you,
nor anybody within a ten mile ratings where we're hitting
right now? You know what I'm saying, Like, like, no,
it's like Doug, like three people ever playing this league

(39:48):
at one going and he still got a shot. He
got a shot. He'll get more chances. He's still young,
he'll get more chances. We've seen thirty one and thirty
two year old guys come off of a G league
team and come into a game, and he'll still get you,
says to put on an NBA uniform and play in
the NBA. Man, I just think LaVar gets a lot
of crap and I'm like, dog, look what he did though,

(40:08):
and y'all all fell for it. So who's the smart one?
The thing is? The thing is you see all these
other overbearing parents and you see their kids, and their
kids don't look happy. Don't look happy, like you know
what I'm saying. The kids look freaking miserable. They got
a TV show, The Ball Brothers look like they're having
one hell of a time. Martin and VJ will continue
having a hell of a time on Fox Sports Radio.
Eagles Giants coming up next, Martin and VJ, Fox Sports Radio,

(40:31):
Fox Sports Football Saturday. That's right, Martin wis VJA Husky
broadcasting live from the Tirac dot com studios. Tirac dot
com will help you get there with an unmaxed election,
fast free shipping, free road add protection, over ten thousand
recommended installars. Ti rack dot com is the way tired
buying should be VJs the NFC side. Now Saturday, we

(40:53):
have to go to New York Football Giants taking on
the one seed, the filling off the Eagles off a
week arrest, Lane Johnson, Jalen Hurts, both of them on
the injury report. Both of them will be playing today.
And we saw the last time we saw the New
York Giants on the football field, they forced Kirk Cousins
to check down to a three yard route on fourth

(41:14):
toenade on his own thir teen yard line. And what
was I mean the biggest paper tiger out the Minnesota Vikings.
The Giants dispatches them. A lot of bald people on
TV right now, Jay Glazier, Lane Johnson, But one ball
gun I'm thinking of right now, Brian day Ball. He
really might have the Giants in the NSC Championship. Say
what you just say? What you just told me to do?

(41:35):
What that he's what? What is Brian Dable doing right now.
I honestly don't remember to tell me he said. You
said he's getting people paid. Oh oh yeah, well he's
getting people paid. Between the Daniel Jones situation, say Kwon
Barkley situation, Wick and Martin Dale starting to look like
a genius over there in New York, was like, look
at it. Who are these guys making defensive plays? I

(41:57):
don't know, must be Cuban link wake you're calling them.
I'll tell you what. This Giants team very much like
the Jaguars of of of the early game. You feel
good right now. No matter what happens from this game
going forward, you you gotta feel good if you're a
Giants fan based on what happened last season. I mean, dude,
you had Joe Josh calling sneaks on third and nine

(42:18):
from his own two yard line. I tald him my
brother Dennis the other night, who was a Adam. Yeah,
Avid Kindle's dad, he's an avid Giants fan, and he
was he was. He was hyped. I haven't heard him
just hyped about the Giants and about ten years. Because
he is exact words. He goes, v we gotta coach,
like we gotta we got a damn coach, and that's
what you want in football. You need a coach, you

(42:39):
need a GM, and you need a quarterback. And it
goes from there. And a lot of times one can
help offset or two can off help off set, like
an average of the third. Right. So in this situation
you have the Giants. GM was good, you got Brian
Day was good, and then you got Daniel Jones, who
a lot of people were out on. I used to
tell my brother a lot bro, he's gotta get you,
gotta get him a coach and get him some weapons,
just like, just give him some time. Man's a Quanda

(43:00):
came out, had that monster rookie year, they go get
they go get Galla Day, which I was really high on.
Last year that fell through. They draft Tony out of Florida.
I was high on that that fell through. They really
did try to surround him. They just swung and missile
some bad situations. But you get a coach that comes
in here, and this is the importance of what McDaniel
did for to it. You don't if you don't believe

(43:20):
in the guy, you don't let it out the room.
You figure out you don't you don't it always fails.
You don't let it out the room. You figure it
out and you tell the world, I'm gotta get the
best out of this guy. I'm gonna get the best
out of this guy. This guy's might do you guys,
remember Love Smith and Rex Grossman. There was not a
better example of Rex Grossman's our quarterback. Rex Grossman's our quarterback. Rex.

(43:41):
But like, this is what it is, and this is
what I'm doing, and that's what Dable and that's what
Dable has done. This game is gonna go one or
two ways for me to be honest with you. Either
the Giants, when are the Eagles blow them out? I
don't think the Eagles can win a close game. I
think if it's close, that means Jalen is not playing
as well. They may not be running the ball is effective.

(44:02):
A J. Brown's not being a J. Brown. You let
this Giant's team hang around and Cavon timbl though it's
going to have a monster game. In my opinion, that
kid is good. He's the goods. Guys like him, Aidan Hutchinson,
those are your your new young rushers in the NFL. Man,
those guys get after it. So I think this game
goes one or two ways. But Brian Table, what a

(44:22):
job he has done. They got it right last year, Martin,
they got it right hiring that guy. And the thing
about day Ball and Daniel Jones, you said, keep it
in the room. It's very much like if you're dating.
It's very much like if you're dating. All right, you
got a girlfriend, you got a wife, you gotta whatever.
You know what you're not doing. You're not going off
talking about dann You know, man, I got I got
my ring on my finger. But hey man, your joint

(44:43):
is cold. You're not over there talking about like looking
down the street, like damn, that girl walking on the
street was bad as hell. Even if you thought it
in your head, you know what, do you keep that
to you? Not even in the house. You keep that
inside your brain. That's your house, that's what it back out.
That's your house. You don't let that out. Why because
you're do one dog, going well with the one you got, okay,

(45:05):
and then maybe maybe have one point maybe your break up,
maybe you're splitting, maybe you maybe you end up throwing
up down the line. And free agency dating free agency
as well, say I mean that happen It happens. Maybe
you hit a blow up, she hits to blow up,
and then you find a new one. Why you have
it though you work, work, relationships at work, love uh

(45:28):
here right here, if the illustrious Fox Sports Radio, these
are relationships. Martin and I producers, engineers, this stuff works.
You gotta work out it. It just doesn't come together,
but you let it. It's in house. You don't tell
the world or give little subtle hints that you don't
like your quarterback or he may not be the guy.
And yet not just Ron Rivera, Brian Flores. I know

(45:48):
there was some other stuff there, but everybody knew you
weren't in on tour. But you didn't have to tell
the world because that really helped get you fired. And
if they both came in there and said, David Jones
is not the guy, but we're gonna work with it,
I guarantee you to see, it would not have gone
the way that it's gone for the Giants. And even
when a lot of close games earlier, they may not
have played the best thing. So what Hermattar said something
that I love. It's not how you play, it's who

(46:11):
you play. On the day you play him it's who
you play on the day you play him, because we
see some teams go out and they'll blow a team
off the field, and then we'll see him play a
sorry team that got blown up by the other team,
and they go, well, they only beat them by three.
It don't matter. It's another Sunday, bro, It's another day. Dog.
That's why I love football, man, because week the week,
all twenty two got to do their job, homeboy, and

(46:32):
Dabel gets these guys to do their I couldn't believe
they won that game, dude, I'm being on they were
Pro bowlers all over the Giants say this. I didn't
expect Danie Joe to look as good as he did.
Oh my god, I was all over the Giants just like,
here's the thing. Don't tell me this team is bad
all season, talking Minnesota Vikings and then bet on them
in the first round of the playoffs. I watch it differential,

(46:57):
all of that mess, like, no, leave it alone. I
see what's going on in here. You're not fooling me.
Kirk Cousin. And and that's why I have a hard
time swallow last week because I've been a Kirk Cousins fan.
I I've always openly said I don't know why everybody
hates them as much as they do. And the one
thing people can still go points to is go v
he can't win in the playoffs, And all I can

(47:17):
do is going, yeah, I guess other than the Stefon digs,
lucky throw, what has he done in the playoffs? Guys, what'ted? Nothing?
And last week you get a home game off of
a great season and talking about the Minnesota miracle. Yeah
it wasn't. That wasn't. That was case Keenom. But with
that case Keenom, I thought he was talking my bad
with that Casey God, where the hell is he had?
Me's the backup quarterback in Buffalo? Is he Josh Allen's backup? Wow?

(47:42):
Hate backups? Yeah? That was case k That was case Keenom.
When I'm so he doesn't even have that, My memory
serves me correct. I don't remember who was the starter
for minutes I was against your Saints. It was against
my Marcus Williams made a great tackle on the cornerback
on the play Mark was on. He played safety for

(48:04):
the Saints, and a great tackle on the cornerback who
was in coverage. I think it was Robie Coleman. You
have some defensive back like horror stories over the last
four or five years. The Rams, the Rams NFC Championship game,
the non passive affairs call against you for you guys
at home in the NFC champions again gets the Rams.
I'll just say this. I'll say this. Everybody wants to
pointing out Aaron Rodgers had shortcomings that got in the

(48:28):
way of him winning a second Super Bowl. Here we go,
Here we go. I'll just you tell me, okay, you
tell me. Drew Brees, all right, the pastor affairs call
that was never called. Bill Benefit still has a job
in his league today, blew that call. Patriots going to
win the Super Bowl thirteen to three. Then Minnesota miracle.

(48:52):
I don't know you may remember this. Minnesota goes to
Philly and Louis just took Nick freaking folks who has
never been heard from again. Who game goes on and
wins the Super Bowl. But since that moment, that's never
been hurt from again. And let's thinking about that Super Bowl.
I don't remember you remember Bill Belichick benching the best
cornerback on the team for seemingly no apparent reason. That's
gonna that'll that that you want to talk about something

(49:13):
to never get out that we will all die before
that thing is released. At the time capsule in Foxborough
as to why Malcolm Butler was on the bench crying
before the game started. But you know what, maybe maybe,
just maybe the Patriots weren't in the best mind state
to win that game. I think the Saints would have
had a great shot there too. I got a question
for you, man, you think you think Hurts could be
Hurts tonight? I don't. Yeah, yeah, that I think Hurts.

(49:35):
You said the left hand, thinking I wasn't looking up
his great serious it was his left arm. Can't play
with shoulders. Man shoulders are, especially in football, man shoulders
are very fragile. I do not think I think that
Jalen Hurts is going to go out there very much
like we saw Patrick Mahomes earlier today, give it his all,
give it his best shot. I just I've seen that

(49:56):
the tackle that he got hit with against the Bears,
the exact roughing the passer that the NFL has been
trying to eliminate. That's why we get these body weight
calls in the pocket. Had Jalen Hurts been in the
pocket it would have been a fifteen yard penalty on Chicago.
He was running, so it wasn't right he I mean,

(50:16):
that's an a C joint, which I'm sorry. I've watched
a lot of football, and I'm no doctor. I don't
even play one on Twitter like you guy pro football doc, right,
I don't. I don't. I don't even play one on Twitter.
I've just seen enough to know you had a holidays.
Look when a big fellow like that collapses on you
and Jeneral. I was surprised in the moment VJ. I
was surprised he was able to get up like that

(50:37):
quick side. But I look at these two sisters up
here during the sideline man Christina's same. No, no, it's
Pam Oliver and Christina Pick. Okay, but I just looked
up in a minute he did split. It was a split.
Just give a shout out to my sin. Pam Oliver
is what is it? It's like twenty years for her? Right,
hasn't she been doing since it's gonna be about twenty
he might be shortened? Okay, Yeah, I just I just

(50:59):
love when I you that Massy the sisters out there
uh doing anything on the sidelide report, and I love that,
and Christina Pink and Pam all Over obviously do a
great job on the sidelines for the Fox broadcast, which
will be starting momentarily. You know. That's the thing. I
do not think that Nick Siriani has been playing fast
and loose with the injury report for like the last

(51:20):
six were smart and it's been one of my biggest
uh what is it? Uh? Pet peeves, pet peeves, stick
in my crawl, whatever the word is. It pisses me,
stick in my crawl. I'm from the South. It pisses
me off. I think you just made that up. Google it.
I promise you it's there. But no, it really does
piss me off because you know, obviously I'm getting on
all these games, so that's why the injury report exists.

(51:42):
But I'm sorry. I think Jalen Hurts has a shoulder injury.
I think that the fact that Lane Johnson is practicing
with a torn groin is something that, like I don't know,
should be a cause for concern. Right, Like I heard today,
a pull one hurts. I can only imagine what a
torn one feels. I was listening and again Adam Kaplan
again with Hartmann, and then salam earlier, earlier today, he says,

(52:06):
he says to me, and I'm not making fun of
Adam caaplan. I think he's reporting what he heard, all right.
I don't want to make it seem like I am.
But he goes, you know, Lane Johnson has this torn
muscle in his growing and the summation of his point was,
he's learned a new way to move. What but they
all were talking about? But even a new way to move?
How many different techniques? VJ? You coach football? I never

(52:28):
coached it, but I know a lot about it. There's
always so many ways an offensive lineman can move, but
there's no there There's different ways though. You can kick
back when you're past blocking to offset a calf or
anchor injury, you use leverage. What you ultimately end up doing,
though it is causing an injury to another part of
your body because you're circumventing the other the injury. So

(52:52):
it just can't go on. It's a good thing they're
in the playoffs. But and I'm never I'm never one
that says, oh, you gotta play. I'm not those guys.
I don't know what the pain is. I don't know
what it feels there's no meter that we can hook
up to ourselves, like the ones where they have men
put on the little monitors of women giving birth to pain,
like the pain threshold. He watched these guys ball up

(53:13):
and roll off the bed and and create like they
feel that pain. There's not something like that for an
ankle or growing or lower back or we don't know
what it feels like. But I do believe though, if
you're playing, the player thinks, okay, I could play through this.
Everybody's got a pain threshold, you know what I'm saying,
Like the dentist doesn't bother me, but I know some
people who are terrified of the dentist. My thing is,

(53:34):
just give me an overcaine, dude, that big needle, that
big gass needles they put in your mouth. Just I
know it's gonna hurt for a second, but just give
me that because that drilling lasts longer than the needle,
So just give me that. If I'm not gonna feel
the everyone's got different pain threshold. So I'm really interested,
and I'm concerned where it hurts. I understand you gotta play,
But if he's not himself, just watch out for this game.
And the Giants to win this game if he's not hisself. Now,

(53:57):
I do think if he's himself and they can run
the football game. See that's the thing. If you're the
football needs some stuff game over. If I'm within Martin deal,
my whole strategy is I'm fitting every single run gap ever.
I want Jalen to a J. Brown And if I
smith you want, you want, I wanted to look, here's
the deal. Here's the deal. I think it hurt. I'm

(54:20):
but like like you said earlier when Patrick, when Patrick
Mahomes came back in there with with the sprained ankle,
and he's like Peterson, Uh, cover zero after if we're
playing mad and that's the ankle, Sam triangle cover zero,
press covers, let's see. And it's not like the Chiefs
got anybody besides Kelsey that you're really worried about you

(54:40):
beating in the so let's press it. Here's the thing. Now,
obviously Eagles got some guys you're worried about beating you
and man cover That's why I asked you. But the
quarterbacks got to get in the ball. I just know this.
I'm about to test out Jitalen her shoulder as much
as I can't find out if I'm win Martindale and
they have a big football game fil to you, bro
like Eagles Ens, you know back, you know back good.

(55:02):
I grew up on the East because I grew up
and my mother, the Great Glendor Spearman Colonel from the Pentagon.
My mom's man, she's an Aviad Giants fan. Like. She
still got a triple down goose that my grandfather, Lord
Rest his Soul, bought her the year they went to
the Super Bowl against the Bills. So you know how
long she's had that triple fat goose trench coat all
the way down to the floor type day like this,

(55:22):
this feels like old games I used to grow up
watching when both these teams were kicking butt man along
with the Cowboys, and you get the red toge over
now the Commanders mixed in there. But it just has
a good big game feel to me. That's right at
the Eagles and the Giants just kicked off. We'll see
the Eagles offense first. Football fans be sure to tune
in the Fox Sports Radio Countdown the Kickoff, presented by

like Jalen hurts to start this game out. That shoulder
looks all right as he completes to what a twenty
nine yard bomb to DeVante Smith and they can matriculate
down the field. Eagles seven g men nothing giants get

(56:29):
the ball to come out of this commercial break. Yeah,
As I said before, it's a commercial break. If you
want to if you want to test his arm, okay, fine,
but I don't think your tests aren't one on one
with brown Uh, DeVante Smith and got it. As you said,
one on one coverage safety doesn't turn his get out
of his turn fast enough runs the d post runs
right by his face and then got herd. You get
the two linebackers crossing, he fakes the h runs the ops.

(56:52):
You out fakes the linebacker so bad he's falling and
stumble into the ground with a one hand catching in
for a touchdown. And even Jalen Hurts has a a
scramble for like nine ten yards already. So I mean,
like I said, they can run the football. I think
game over. And if you want to test his arm,
you can test his arm, but don't test his arm
one on one, not with this crew. This isn't Minnesota.
You have one guy to worry about Minnesota. Here you

(57:13):
have three. You have three legit weapons on offense that
he can throw too. And I just don't think. Look
like he shakes this kid right here, man, get off
of me. Look at that he's facing the turf like
that's ill right there, Like that's a tight end running
a precise route. And I love route running. I love
route running so much. I get emotional, man, I tear
up sometimes when I watch because people don't understand what
it really takes sometimes with your feet and your hips

(57:36):
and your body and your leverage to run routes. Man,
So great route right there. But and then get the
ball back. We'll see what's up with the Giants offense here,
but this really defense is tough also too. They've been
able to have been run on though people have been
able to run on the Eagles in the second half
of the season. We'll see if they plug some of
those holes up and get that back on point, because
that's a really good run defense until people decided, Okay,

(57:56):
now we're just gonna run right at you, not try
to run away from you. And it was effect that.
So we'll see what Dan what you call him Danny
Dimes that what you call him Dandy Dives. I call
him the Vanilla Vic from Kwon Barkley. Do that because
Quon Barkley said it at the start of the season. Okay, yeah,
don't do that. Though it's strictly Kwon Barkley thing. It's
vanilla Vic. I'm not over here actually equating Daniel Jones.

(58:21):
I don't give it damn if he did have three
hundred past yards and sent rush yards of the postseason game,
like like first time ever. Well no, it was the third.
It was. It was Steve Young and Lamar Jackson the
other two men to have done it prior. But now
that's who I think would be the vanilla. VIC would
be like, you know, Steve Young, Well, I would call
him the vanilla if it was if he had to pick.
If we're sitting here watching the early ninety nine is it,

(58:43):
maybe we would have that conversation. But right now we're
watching Well Man, I dig him. I'm sorry. I'm sorry
that I dig and my mental sports roller decks and
go back, and I'm one who's still not saying you're not.
But I wone who still remembers some past greatness that
we forget about some when we start calling guys certain
things today. And we'll talk about that later. Of a

(59:03):
player that I'm really looking forward to in the forty
niner Cowboy game, being a big effective, big, big effective
player for tomorrow's game. Uh yeah, I just I you know,
people we throw around these terms, and I get it,
But say, Ka Ka sh And said that he should
have said something else, should have called him like the
vanilla Cunningham, Vanilla Dante Culpepper one of those did the

(59:24):
vanilla McNab one of those guys that can run, not
the vanilla VICI vanilla. Uh. Mike Kafka, the offensive coordinator
for the New York Giants right now because Brian day
Ball came into New York and did something interesting, right,
we see these guys as we see especially what I
think it's interesting. You're looking around the league and you
see what the ten offensive coordinator openings and a couple

(59:45):
of head coaches that are just open, like basically everybody
trying to figure out the offensive top of the ball
unless you made the playoffs. Pretty much seems to be
what the scenario is. And hell, if you're about to
say hold on you by your left were still got fired.
So and then your boy to U Joe Lombardi, and
then and say not San Diego almost did it, almost

(01:00:06):
did it Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Charges. But Mike
Kafka was the third string quarterback behind Michael Vick and
Kevin Yeah, Kafka, I remember, I remember was about. I
remember we're big ten guys. So I remember his college days. Man,
Hell yeah, Mike Afka, I'll tell you what I'm about.
Picture him in that purple wildcat helmet. Mike caf I

(01:00:28):
remember vividly Mike Kafkra from when he was in college,
which means I mean I was in college at the
same time, which now I have the same feeling I
had when when Freddie Ado made the national team at
seventeen years old. Man, yeah, I was fifteen at the time.
When he made the national team at seventeen, I think, okay,
but then at some point it somehow made me feel
like less of a success in life. Yeah, soccer wasn't

(01:00:50):
your time. Well that's where I am now here as
I'm hosting the Saturday radio show. Don't get me wrong,
I love my position. However, Mike Kafka right now was
his diagramming plays. He's thirty phase two years old. We're
in college at the same time. He's managing that the
head coaches, though you aren't you to You're not like
you're you're the same age, just some head coaches aren't you.
But I didn't have Sean McVeigh in my like in

(01:01:12):
my knowledge bag, like I remember sitting up shotgunning beers
getting ready for Michigan to play, watching my cap like
I remember watching that. You know what I'm saying you,
Like it would be like a Roy Roundtree was out here.
What happened to me calling a calling a place for
the other team? You know what I'm saying? It would
be like wow, man, I'd just be like, wow, this

(01:01:35):
is this is a wild scenario. This is just craziest.
I do that with my high school class of nineties
six with sports, and in the NBA, that's the Kobe class.
So that's Nashen not not Genopolely, but that's Nash Ray
Allen Alan Iris And you know what I'm saying, it's
it's it's that class. And I'd be like, damn man,
damn all the same age as me. I didn't do
none of this stuff that I hadn't played basketball, but wow, man,

(01:01:59):
it's just speaking of a man, just off topic. Man
coaches ball is the kind of heart thing that he
does when he's sitting when he's sitting ice tup. Did
you see what I saw? Oh yeah, you gotta watch it, bro.
It's that's that's the stuff we want to know and
hear about the so called controversial And I always thought
he was just misunderstood and that was purposely done. But
you know, it's a good thing. You got to go

(01:02:19):
watch it. I'll check it out. And coming up next
we'll get into Payton, Seom Paynton and uh and Mike.
It was a Michael Vick was Michael Vick shop. It's
some interesting comments on Lamar Jackson almost said Marcus Vick
that's his little brother. But we'll get into that coming
up next. But first we'll get Steve the Seger on
the Divisional round game in the NFC and everything else
in the world of sports. Steve, what's trend? Frief delay

(01:02:41):
in Philadelphia? Now? The Eagles are up seven nothing on
the Giants after about five minutes of this playoff game.
They're just now resuming because the delay was the chain
gang needed a replacement. The chain broke on the yard markers,
so they've had to get replacement of quick equipment and
just now resume seven nothing Eagles because the opening drive
of the night, yes he's back at quarterback, Jalen Hurts

(01:03:05):
leads some seventy five yards about a five minute drive
down the field. He was five for five passing sixty
eight yards and a touchdown sixteen yard reception one handed
from tight end Dallas Gardard and by the way, and
a couple of scrambles, one notably from Jalen Hurts with
the bad shoulder. When the tackle was coming, he got
down to the turf quickly and safely. It is currently

(01:03:27):
seven nothing Eagles in the opening minutes of this game.
Giants now with the ball top seed in the a
f C. Kansas City got a home win Chiefs over
the Jaguar quarterback Patrick Mahomes with two touchdown passes, trying
to play through a sprained ankle. He says he'll play
next week. Chiefs have made the a f C title
game and could be hosting it for a fifth straight season. Mahomes,

(01:03:49):
in ten career home playoff games, has thrown twenty eight
touchdown passes with only three interceptions. The Bengals are at
Buffalo tomorrow. Bengals are missing three injured offensive lineman. Late
game Sunday on Fox TV six thirty pm Eastern Time,
it's Dallas at San Francisco. The Diners have won eleven
games in a row. Cowboys tackle Jason Peters is out

(01:04:10):
this weekend with a hippie injury. Now kicker Tristan vis
Kayano was knocked at not activated from the Dallas practice squad,
so according to NFL Network, it looks like Brett Marr
is due to be the starter on the road tomorrow.
Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is interviewed for a couple
of head coaching jobs Colts and Cardinals. Joey Bosa, who

(01:04:30):
blew up with the Chargers last Saturday night, was fined
about fifty five thousand dollars for criticizing the refs and
his unsportsmanlike conducts plural, and Tom Brady was fined about
sixteen thousand dollars for his unnecessary roughness last Weekend to
College Basketball. Number two Kansas got blown out at home
by fourteen rank TCU eighty three to sixty. At number

(01:04:53):
eleven Arizona Wildcats beat number five U c l A
fifty eight fifty two. Number seven Texas has one at Westford, Gina,
sixty nine to sixty one. NBA Boston won its ninth
straight game at two point win at Toronto one oh six,
one oh four. Back to you, thanks Steve. Giants got
the ball second in five, seven minutes left in the game.
Say Kwon Barkley is ready to take this hand off

(01:05:15):
if they're gonna hand it to him right here on
second in five, Excuse me, Sae Kwon does about a
two or three yard game. Looking at third and three
on the Giants first drive at the game. Martin and
b J coming to you live from the Tirac dot
com studios, and we could talk about how complicated other
bags make it to redeem credit card awards, or we
can talk about how we discover you can redeem your
rewards for cash and any amount at any time. I

(01:05:37):
mean talk about amazing learn more about to learn more
at discover dot com slash redeem awards terms apply b
J the the story of the off season. As soon
as we crown a Super Bowl champion, all eyes will
turn to Baltimore and say, what is going on with
Lamar Jackson l jacks Now Sean Payton and Michael Vick

(01:05:58):
has some things to say once't you go ahead and
explain a little bit more? Well, Uh, they in my opinion,
had to nerve I'm gonna saying like that they were
questioning whether he should play or not. And Sean Payton
uh has went as far as to say what he's
heard from inside the franchise, inside the room is that
he is not as hurt as uh. Do we have

(01:06:21):
that we have that sound up, We do have this
go ahead play that I don't like it. And they're
in a playoff game and I get if he's not playing,
but this whole tweet out. Let me explain my whole
medical uh status. Uh. And look, I'm hearing grumblings from
a handful of folks there that their teammates to feel like, uh,
his process has been slower than expected. I just don't

(01:06:45):
like it. The team is more important right now than you,
and we appreciate the information on your injury status or
not playing. I get it. I don't see this player
back in Baltimore next year. And uh, I think he'll
end up with another club. If this team was to
and fit team, I can see him not coming back
and trying to finish out of the season. It just
seems that, you know, we all played this game to

(01:07:05):
try to win the Super Bowl, like that's the main goal.
And if you have a good a team that's good
enough to get to the playoffs like three understand, you know,
but like say, like you just said, it's the playoffs, man,
you three games away. Put a brace on it, get
it going, and look, put a brace on it. Let's go. Yeah.
I have thanks for that, sound man, because that I

(01:07:26):
probably would have missed some of those points trying to
break it down. And it's and also Charles Woodson, who
is my guy. He is my favorite football player of
all time, right there with Dan Marino. Those are my
two guys. But I have to separate that, and I
have to look at this. First of all, it is
an unspoken rule that in pro sports there's two things
that you don't talk about. You don't speculate on, and

(01:07:47):
you don't go after guys about somebody money and somebody
helse and thank you, thank you. We just speak about
it before. He doesn't have a deal in place. Do
you not remember r G three? Do we not remember
that without that deal in place, knowing his knee was
already torn, put a brace on it and go play
slips on the worst turf at FedEx Field and land

(01:08:10):
over Maryland, and its career is never the same again.
And you know what we do now? We clown them.
We talk about him, but he's on TV. He wasn't, yeah,
talking about the game. Yeah, he's getting that, he's getting
that back right now. And I said, I say, I
say that because he's not still playing the game. Yeah, exactly, okay, exactly.

(01:08:30):
Also to quicktop aar that he's very entertaining whenever you
think about him, I said, Wow, him and Mark Jones
together that's a good listen. But anyway, back to these
three gentlemen, Sean pay Sir, you are a coach like
you are a coach. We are just coming off the
biggest season in my lifetime of the narrative of coaches
don't care about the players because of tour and all

(01:08:50):
the other concussions that were happening around in the league
this year, and all the stuff that we've seen over
that We've just come off the biggest season of it
being a talking point on radio and being a talking
point of television about players don't care the coaches are
the teams don't really care about these players. And you
were telling a guy who plays quarterback and a running
system and a due three quarterback who's got a knee
injury without a guaranteed contract, he should suit up and

(01:09:14):
play a playoff game. Are you kidding me? Mike Vick
is from v A. I'm from v A man, I've
been We've been with Mike Vick as fans and supports this.
He was at high school at Hampton. We've been with
Mike Vick. Mike Vick, sir, no way, no way. And
then for Sean Paige, I'm hearing rumblings. So now you're

(01:09:36):
bringing in other guys. I hate anonymous. If you're not
gonna put my dad, my pop. Glenn Thomas used to
tell me, a real man puts his name on something
that he's gonna say about somebody else. If you're not
gonna put your name on it, keep your mouth shut.
This bothered me. Oh my god, I wouldn't How would you.
I wouldn't even hire Sean Payton. There's no way I'd

(01:09:56):
even hire you right now. You're a trouble starter. This
is start in trouble. This is not start in trouble.
Because if I'm Lamar Jackson and I'll get and this
is it and I'll let you have it, Martin, if
I'm Lamar Jackson, I'm like, Okay, who talking about me? Who? Who?
Who running them out for about me? M v P.
The only reason why we're good on offense when I'm
not here to drop. The score dropped down to twelve

(01:10:18):
thirteen points a game without Lamar Jackson, J K. Dobbins,
the running backs, all of that. No Lamar, no offense.
And somebody in this locker room is leaking something to
somebody's cousin. Baby Mama's second uh Darter's father's cousin, brother's
sister and telling Sean Payton, come on, man, stop playing
with me. People, stop playing with me. I've been with L. Jackson.

(01:10:42):
I'm staying with L. Jackson. Like you said, We've been
talking about this for almost two years now about Lamar Jackson.
That contract. Oh they allfer them to fifty, but only
one thirty something guaranteedes. All right. That ain't enough, bro,
That's not what you're paying the other boys. You know
what it is. It goes back to again, like relationships
with Daniel Jones and Brian day Ball right more, one
of the Ravens to propose. He one of the Ravens

(01:11:03):
to propose marry. You want me to be all in.
I'll be all in if you go down on one
knee and give me this fully guaranteed contract. We go,
all right, because here, without talking about any of the
thing off this field, Lamar Jackson, objectively, it is better
than de Shaun watching that quarterback has been for the
entirety of his career, all right, now, eliminate all the

(01:11:26):
baggage from off the field. He's better than Kirk Cousins,
who has no backage off the field, right. You know,
both of those dudes got fully guaranteedull guaranteed, fully guaranteed contracts.
Matthew Stafford got a contracted this off season. Aaron Rodgers
got a contract this off season. Both of those guys
might not even be on the roster September of next year,
and got fifty coming to him next year. Derek Carr

(01:11:47):
a guy they jettisoned out contract extenction at the end
of the year and then not just go back. Anecdotally,
I don't have the lift in front of me. Kyler
Murray contract, Carson Wentz contract extension, uh, Jared Golf contract
attention in Los Angeles. Okay, Philly gave Carson Wins money.
You know what this money already to Yeah, I got

(01:12:07):
this money and and and Patrick Mahomes also obviously I
mean Patricks more accomplished. I mean more accomplishing. Lamar, of course,
you know what I'm saying. But ultimately, at the end
of the day, if I'm Lamar Jackson, I'm sitting around
here like y'all gotta be freaking kidding me. Look around that,
look around the landscape up this league. You tell me
a guy who won my first full season won the

(01:12:29):
m v P that I'm not worth fully guaranteed money,
and everybody always wants to say, oh, you know, the
longevity to this and to that, I get Lamar's ended
his last two seasons with injury. I also think I'm
not a doctor. I think had he had a fully
gaankeye contract right now, he maybe he might have played
in that postseason game. I say that now, I'm not
I'm not about to judge him, nothing to judge him

(01:12:51):
for not where I'm not gonna juge him for not
But I do think if he knew he had four
years to rehab on company time, so to speak, and
maybe he has more of an incentive to go out there,
which we've heard major stars in sports use that term.
I got hurt on company time, I'm gonna heal on
company time, and and and when Shack said it, it
was more of a kind of a disparaging thing like

(01:13:11):
I'm but like but like legitimately, like you know, I
don't think Lamar Jackson is a guy who's delaying surgery
right to to to quote unquote stick it to the organization.
But there comes to a point where you if you
you could love somebody all day and night. You wanted
to get married to them and they don't want to
marry you. Well, you gotta make a decision. Either you're

(01:13:33):
fine being boyfriend and girlfriend or you break up, or
you break up and go see what the data and
you go see what else is that? Yeah, you're go
see what the dating pool look So so go find Ravens.
Go find your quarterback. Find you a quarterback. In the
year he won m v P for that old he
can't throw, he led the league in touchdowns. You people
out there, stop repeating everything you hear on TV, on

(01:13:53):
debate shows and radio show. Stop repeating just what you here.
There's a narrative that's put into place for certain players
and certain types of God. That's what. That's the way
this goes, whether people want to admit it or not.
He it's not that he can't throw, is he Pat
Mahomes accurate? No, we already know that though. But with
the guy at quarterback, you have a shot to win
every single Sunday because he does so much on the field.

(01:14:18):
If you go spend a little money and go get
him a receiver. I did a show with what our
good friend Chris Bruce are on the odd couple like
back in August, his take was, receivers don't want to
play with him. I'm like, no, they don't want to
play in that system. It's the system that's him down.
First of all. That that that that concept drives me
nuts because guess what, the vast majority of this league

(01:14:39):
doesn't get to chools where they play. You like, what
are you talking about? Receivers don't want to play for him?
Guess what if you get like Rashan Bateman got drafted
to Baltimore, so he's gonna be in Baltimore no matter
who the quarterback is until the end of you You
know what I'm saying, No, no, it is. You know
what it is. It's a cop out for an organization
that everybody has deemed to be a quote un good organization,

(01:15:01):
model right, a model franchise, right. And I'm not saying
that they're wrong and that the Ravens are a great
franchise and one that the people look after, but they
also could have missed on wide receivers. They also didn't
prioritize signing wide receivers because I mean, it's just the
reality of the situation that you go out and get
talent in this league. You need to tell me what
they don't. People the Houston Texans field the team every Sunday,

(01:15:25):
right the Indianapolis called field the team every Sunday. You're
telling me that guys are like, oh man, I can't
wait to go play for the Texans. No, you don't
get the pick. You either get drafted or you're a
free agent. And maybe you're maybe you're a guy like
Odell Beckham Jr. Who may have the choice his choice
of suitors, but before he signs with the Ramps. But
Wolfing than not. You got one of two teams knocking

(01:15:46):
on your door and they're becking a decision between this
rock and that hard place. So the idea is just ridiculous.
Coming up next, we're get into something more ridiculous at
read What the Hell is wrong with You? Martin and
v J Fox Sports Radio, Martin and Vija coming to
you Live and the Time Wreck dot Com Studios until
ten pm. It's getting early late at Lincoln Financial Field,
Eagles with a fourteen point lead and the Giants just

(01:16:08):
turned the ball over with a second time. I leave
one turnover on downs and another it was a fumble. Yeah,
I think it's I think it was a fumbo yeah
in the phone or intersept well, it would only be
a fumble, aren't interception? But uh, giants not taking care
of the football. We talked about it earlier, talked about
earlier with the Jacksonville Jaguars taking care of the football
on the road and the playoffs, it is a must.

(01:16:29):
You cannot go not unless you're gonna get you know,
three turners like the Dolphins had last week. Even though
the Bills had two, they had three, so you can
still stay in the game. But if you have three
and they have none, you're you're losing by three touchdowns.
And this game can go to three touchdowns. Philly goes
down and punches this in the end zone. It's twenty
one nothing. And I'm not gonna dare think or say
or mumble that this game is over. I am not

(01:16:49):
doing that this wee Y're not hand down anyway. I'm
gonna go home and restart the game so I can
hear and listen to it anyway. So regardless, we only
get out of here with these late games right before
the half, So no home. I just watched. I watched
on the first half again and then speed through halftime
and commercial stuff and try to catch up live if
I can't. But if it goes twenty one, nothing, man, man,
that takes a kwa. No it doesn't. It's still early enough.

(01:17:11):
I don't think it takes. Here's the game. Here's the thing.
If you're Brian day Ball and you watched the last week,
the last time we were on the radio, but I'm
sure he was listening to us as well as as
he was watching, as he was watching the Chargers and
Jaguars game play. But you know what, what did what
did the Jaguars do? At the look, it's still early
enough in this game. We can run offense and win.

(01:17:31):
This thing didn't force us turn over. I mean, I
didn't force the significant turn over in the second half.
All I was drive, touchdown, drive, touchdown, drive, touchdown, drive, touchdown, boom,
game winning field goal. So far from saying this game's over,
I mean it's a two possession game right now. Started
the second quarter, fifteen minutes, Eagles have the ball on
their own forty four yard line. Just Jalen Hurts takes

(01:17:53):
the snap and looks like it throws the ball away
on second and eight, So you know who knows? I
mean again, this is a I don't think that this
game is gonna be some type blowout just off the
strength that. I don't think that a Brian Day ball
coach team is gonna get blown out. Well, look at it,
look at it. Look at that defense. Look at that
defense got pulled together by the defensive coordinator during that

(01:18:14):
doing that time out. Like okay, guys, let's go like
when you see that right there, and you don't get
that a lot. When you get that, that means okay,
Like I said, it could get serious. Guys, hold the
hold the three or get me the ball back. But
we go down and we let them push this in.
If they march it down and stick it in the
ends on from right here, it's a forty five yard
drive and it's third and eight they're looking at right now.
So if they go down and get twenty one or nothing,

(01:18:34):
I'm just saying that they're gonna have to figure something out.
They just can't let um as the Eagles false started
to make a third and fifteen. To your point, you
gotta get off the field now. You have to get
off the field, especially now now third and fifteen. Now
you gotta get off the field with this false start.
Not only that a third was give me thirty and thirteen,
but also tell you this, Jennal Hurst looks good. He's
run the ball, he lowered his shoulder, he's taking hits,

(01:18:56):
He's fine. Whatever they did or whatever the health is.
Christina Peak report it that he what he said. He admitted,
I'm not I'm not closed on but I'm ready to go.
So we know we know he's banging up and hurt,
but you know he looks like he's gutting it out too.
Why would this be? Man? Seeing two teams that a
lot of people think are gonna end up in the
Super Bowl, half quarterbacks coming both wants he's both come

(01:19:16):
in with with with hurt quarterbacks right or not? Come
in But my homes gets hurt in the game, but
gut it out, get good big Home wins and move
on to the conference championship. As we see Jayla Hurts
scrambling right here, turns and throws the incomplete pass. But
he looks good. Man, he's not moving gingerly or anything
like that, so he's ready to go. I'd like to
see a replay on that throw because if that was
probably his first one that I've seen today, that was

(01:19:39):
kind of off target. I don't know he because he's running,
I don't know if he was throwing it away. I'd
like to see a backside replay to know how if
he was trying to miss. You know what I'm saying. Look,
I mean, there's a thing. It's a real thing. It's
like I'm just gonna throw this ball out of bound.
I don't I'd like to see any defense play that's
already calls in turnovers, defensive, solid plan. More on the

(01:20:01):
Eagles and the Giants coming up next, Martin and VJ,
Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Football Saturday. That's right, Martin
Wise Vida Husky broadcasting live from the Tirac dot Com studios.
Ti rack dot com. We'll help you get there with
an unmatched election. Fast, free ship and free road adds
to protection and over ten thousand recommended this dollers tire

(01:20:22):
rack dot com the way tire buying should be. The
Eagles forced another punt from the New York Giants fourteen
and nothing, twelve twenty one left in the second quarter.
Jalen Hurts and company looking to score their third touchdown
on the first half and first of the second quarter
as Miles Sanders takes a handoff about eight nine yards

(01:20:43):
on first and ten to sit right at midfield with VJ.
Let's take a break from this game as the Eagles
are driving down the field, and let's get in to
what we saw out of Beth Douin, Cookman and Ed
Reid over the over the last few days. Perfect. Let's
play this ship that sound yeah, curse and you ont

(01:21:04):
heard cursed words before? They got parents in here, norder
leaves and like I told you, I want all these recruits,
but they have to corrupt people in this world, some
evil people that can count on kids like I do.
So I want you all to hear the truth from me.
You want to go first, sir? For want me to

(01:21:27):
go for this one right here? You go ahead, and
Mr ed Reid, no, sir, absolutely not. Sir. Have several seats, Sir,
have a whole stadium of seats. Sit your ass down.
I understand if there's things going wrong there. I understand
if some things need to be cleaned up and some

(01:21:48):
things need to be fixed. And I hope I don't
get emotional with this because I'm studying from my degree
right now. I'm HBCU. I have family members that at HBCU.
I hear the stories. I have a have a cousin
that works at Fairville State the admission's office. She tells
me things that go on and was I get it.
We know there's problems, but you don't air that out

(01:22:08):
for the world and make us look even worse. We
are our own worst enemy. You didn't know the conditions
before you took the job. I mean you didn't towards
the campus. You didn't walk around, you didn't check buildings,
you didn't look around. You just took the job. And
when you get there, the first thing you do is
you jump on Live and flip your camera around and
show him where there was trash and you picked it

(01:22:29):
up in the trash. Here it is this thing, and
this is who are you not talking to? Go talk communication.
I talked for a living. I actually get paid for it.
I used to get trouble in school for it all
the time. Wasn't a big fighter, never joined games. I
talked a lot, and that chased the girls. That's what
got VJ and trouble in school. So communication is big
to me. Talk ignoring stuff and not saying it or

(01:22:50):
saying in the air and out to the wrong people
in relationships in life. We just talked about this a
few seconds ago. It will never get you anywhere. And
stop with the trying to everybody trying to get Cloud
off Dion's name and what Dion did. Dion didn't do
it the right way, and neither are you these kids
you say you care about. But this is how you
air it out. Why the hell y'all recorded all of

(01:23:10):
this and then putting it out for the world to see.
Do you think that was gonna change something? Oh? Ed
Reid had a ramp and put it out on I
G and tent time. So let's all get our you
know what together, and let's all change it now. Because
he did that, that was that was the wake up call.
We needed this hurt. Man like this, this hurt. And
if you think that you're gonna get a job at

(01:23:32):
a bigger university, good luck, sir. Last point, whyon't you
air out to use bad trash? Won't you air out
to use laundry? How many suspensions y'all been through down there?
How many times y'all had to vacate wins down there?
Don't get me go ahead, Martin, gonna go ahead, bro,
I don't I would say, ultimately, this is one of
those scenarios that, while I do not believe it to

(01:23:55):
be so right, I'll start with that, if if everything
that Ed Reid was saying was a fact and truthful,
there's a way to address there's a way to address this.
There's a way. And let me tell you this, just
you know what everybody else here I add, somebody like
VJ who get paid to give an opinion, don't do it.

(01:24:15):
If you're not getting paid to do it, do what
you're getting paid to do. Because I'll tell you this,
You'll never get hired off a tweet, You'll never get
hired off Instagram story, You'll never get hired off the TikTok.
You know what it will do. It can only cost
you your job. That's it. There's no nobody is ever
gonna be like, oh my god, you know what, Very

(01:24:36):
had such a great nuance take on HBCU. There's no win,
especially if you're upset as Ed Reid was upset. Now,
the thing I'll say, we spent a lot of time
and energy to Ed Reid, who's not gonna ever coach
a game in Beth and Cookman and Dion Sanders, who
coached three seasons at Jackson State. But for the I

(01:24:58):
think at this point we should highlight Eddie George, who's
been at Tennessee State. Yes, whose teams have not been great,
have not had the success that that Dion Sanders has
had as the coach at Jackson State as he's had
a Tennessee State. But here's the thing. Like Eddie George
is frustrated as well, but the way he goes about

(01:25:19):
it is entirely different. Here's a quote from Eddie George.
You know it's frustrating, and you know he meaning and read,
didn't exactly understand what he was getting himself into. And
when you get under the hood and you see what's
really going on, you see the mold in the apartment,
the mold in dorm rooms. You see the facilities and
the locker room not being the best, it's not clean.
All those things are true. But guess what, that's why

(01:25:39):
you're here. That's why I choose to do it through action.
You know, I choose to do it. I being Eddie George,
I choose to do it through you know, hey, let
me roll up my sleeves and get in front of
these people, corporations, the School president, the politicians and say basically,
what are we doing here? He goes on to say,
this is the same mold that was here in Tennessee
State when I was here at the Tennessee Titan in

(01:26:01):
training camp. Okay, it's not a place that they have
an ability to take great crime. But you know what
he also does, He goes and he says, hold on
a minute. He references a report from the Office of
the Legislative Budget of Analysis that showed the state of
Tennessee has underfunded Tennessee State for decades. He says that
old Tennessee State anywhere from a hundred and fifty one

(01:26:21):
million to five four million land grant funding. If you
know land grant funding Michigan States and land Grand School
Texas A and m is a land Grand school land
grant colleges are. The reason they exist is to our
agriculture basically the backbone of the country. And it's finance
and subsidized by the state that it's in. It's not
a private school with the land Grand School as Tennessee
State is. So you know what Eddie George is doing

(01:26:43):
in this moment calling out all the things that people
want him to call out However, he's not completely absolving
the people who should have been responsible for financing it.
It's one thing entirely. If the money is all on
the up and up, and then you you know what
I'm saying. You see the quote unquote the pastor driving
the may back. Okay, as the water fountain don't work

(01:27:05):
at the church. Okay, it's one thing entirely. Yeah, it's yeah,
build the building funds. Okay, it's one thing entirely. When
you're sitting there, you're putting in you you're putting in
a collection plate every Sunday, and your pastor is taking
a private jet. Meanwhile the roof is leaking. Okay, that's
not what's happening here. The university is was essentially stolen

(01:27:27):
from by the state, Eddie George. If that is sitting
up and say the disease state, then ADMINITIATD. He don't
give me no money, They'll give me no love. Man.
I'm a former NFL players supposed to be all this
and that. In the third, I expect the red carpet. No. No,
Because here's the deal. If you want red carpet, you
gotta be the one to bring it out. You gotta

(01:27:47):
be the one that makes this place a red carpet
type place. And you know, if you don't want to
do that at Reid. If you don't want to do that,
Dion Sanders, then go be an assistant dog on coach
at Miami, at Florida State, at at Florida Atlantic, at
Wyoming and work your way up, because these days, Species,
we're doing just fine without you. It pissed me off, bro,

(01:28:09):
like it really and it hurt me and it pissed
me off at the same time because once again, here
here's a guy who talks so passionately. You cut this video.
Yeah you're mad, You're like, you're grown ass man. Calm down, first, bro,
like you don't know to breathe. Corinthians first. Corinthians often
go read it, Okay, you know what I'm saying. When
you're a grown man as such as a damn grown man,

(01:28:31):
you're not a child. Children yelling, scream and get upset
when they don't get their way. I got a daughter,
my daughter one journey. She runs my house when you
don't give her what she wants. Everybody's got held at bay.
Everybody's guys. She's gonna cry, She's gonna complain. Complain, complai.
The other day, she complained all day long. All I
heard was wait, wait, wait, I way from my door.
Because she's a child. She's a baby. Grown men. We

(01:28:52):
we put on a suit. You're going. You get in
front of the people you need to get into and
you demand that people be held accountable. You don't blame
the people that's there, especially if the state's been stealing
from them. Where you have a major, major, higher, higher
ladder to climb. But also too, I'm gonna take this
approach on it too real quick. For all the black
celebrities out there that give money to other things and

(01:29:14):
give money and brag about all the stuff that you've accumulated,
and I'm not calling nobody's pockets or how many mercendes
or portions of ferraris or houses around the world you have,
and how many vacations you can take it where you
can sell your yard. Good for you, like real talk,
good for you. But when it comes time to give
back and pull other people up, start stop showing up
at these big colleges and flashes smiles for the camera.

(01:29:36):
Go back to where your your nephews and your nieces
and your and your the people that look like you
come from out of school and give you can write
it off as a donation. It's tax stuff. I know
there's some type of business tax thing you guys could do,
like like real talk man, it's it's And this is
the second time we're going through this this year. This
is the second time we're going through this with a

(01:29:58):
former Hall of Fame NFL player that says he's gonna
go and do the right thing and when it doesn't
work out and it's not what he thinks it is,
it's on black it's on front Street. To mek Read,
the woman's basketball coach at Jackson State, says coaching at
an HBCU is not for the week. You're going to
fight battles internally and externally, and if your program experiences
any type of success, it will be harder. I chose

(01:30:20):
to come back for the fight to truly even the
playing fields and do something that's never been done. Right now,
I get where that's coming from, But we're hearing the
same thing out of ed Read type guys. And here's
the here's the real rug. You've got to understand the
culture of the environment that you walk into. Because I

(01:30:40):
went to the University of Michigan. All right, the people
who are I's just the football players the University of Michigan.
There's an expectation, there's an expectation, and yeah, sure, don't
get me. I was in math class with Taylor of
the Wine and Mike Martin. Okay, both of them guys
playing in the league. You know what, we all probably
got about the same grade. I wouldn't have writ in school. However,

(01:31:01):
there was an expectation, okay, that they were gonna attend class,
but be they're gonna be a practice. They're gonna be
at every practice. They're gonna be at every lift, They're
gonna be at every lift, every film study, and and
and and and and and do not get in trouble
mid midweek, because then guess what, it's over. It's over.

(01:31:23):
Not only not gonna, you may not play. Justin Fagan,
I remember you had arrested. He was you may You
may remember him from the high school. He was supposed
to be to Do. He was supposed to be rich
rods Do got kicked out of school over with right,
and people fought against that. People said they were too
harsh on for kicking them out of school. Over with Okay,
you know why, because the expectation is for a guy

(01:31:44):
like Justin Fagan, he's supposed to be out there on
the field, right And you know what, if he was
out in the field, maybe the little west Quaite incident
gets swept under the rock. Quite honestly, especially in a
town like an Arbor a Tallahassee are are are one
of these places that exists, that exists because they are
the university. Right So no, like, if you want to

(01:32:06):
and if you want to be a part of that,
if you want to be a part of the same
college football experience that a Jim Harball and a Kirby
Smart and a Nick Saban, if you want to be
a part of that same college football experience, then go
do it at a p w Y. Because this the
hpc U football while still still high talent, still can
still find guys gonna playing the pros still and and

(01:32:26):
to this they find guys that will play they can
play in professional football. From h b c U s.
The main goal is not the winning and losing of
the football team. It's not building building The program is
building an environment where people can be safe, where people
can where people can reach their highest ability. That's what
the whole point of asp c U s are they

(01:32:46):
were created because you couldn't do that as a black person.
That a p w Y No, not at all. There
was the time we weren't even allowed at those schools.
So now that you have an opportunity to go amongst
your people and uplift your people, That's why I speak
the way I speak, and I speak about love, and
I don't like hate. I don't like haters. I don't
go around Oh Vernon haters or VJ haters. I don't
talk like that. I don't like that. It's stupid to me,

(01:33:07):
it's only self serving. And I've said that on a
personal level, a sports talk level, acting level, and the
stand up comedy level, and I do all of that.
I don't do that. I don't like. I'm much rather
find the optimism of like, where where do we agree?
Where are we cool that? Where can we have some fun?
Where can we smile? Where can we like? Where can
we uplift each other? That's what I'm really about as
a human to the cord me, when you strip all

(01:33:29):
the outside stuff away, VJ Vernon Husky is about uplifting.
So when I see somebody saying they're gonna do it,
and they want to do it. I'll pull for them
on any level in any industry. Anybody that says, you
know why the the guy with that I can't pronounce,
is it SI s I. I know you guys have
been hearing about this, the sneaker label that's gonna sign
Kyrie Black old sneaker label. And then when Kyrie has

(01:33:51):
come out, guess who's getting a pair for him in
his Sun cameraon me? Because it's that's how you uplift
your people, you support it. I know my little change
ain't gonna changed the company, but I could say I
was in on it. He wasn't getting no big baller
brand though I would know well his shoes were by
order only these these these the the guy cut of
video to see Also, yeah he could a video. Now

(01:34:12):
these are gonna be out out like you could get
these the big Brawler brand plug bro those were. They
were like four hundred dollars like I couldn't at that time.
I couldn't pay four fifty four pair of sneak. I
don't have pockets like that. I don't have four fifty years.
Got to be at least I have to be getting
four shoes back. Yeah, anything coming out of footed four

(01:34:34):
pair of sneakers. Man, I'm at that seventy nine and listen,
you can find some fresh seventy nine nine ns on sale. Man,
I don't wear all that crazy stuff kids air Force.
Want some shell told, some Adidas, some Rebok pumps like
I rocked that, some Ai, some Pennies, I'm getting those.
I want some Kobe Grinches. I went online. I got
a little commission checked from a job like two years ago.

(01:34:54):
I went online. I put it in my size, and
I found like somebody that was selling, you know, like
four or five people that was selling with the stock
at twelve hundred dollars. Dude, I closed my laptop, so
damn fast are you getting twelve hundred dollars? And I
went from Kolbe Gridge is so bad, But I'm not
paying twe hundred dollars for him. So I couldn't pay
four fifty the Baller brand bro but I wanted to
pair just to support. Sitting here right now, it looks

(01:35:17):
like the Giants. I'd say, like this, we might see
one of the others. We might see another historic you
might see another historic NFL postseason comeback, right now and
this is gonna have to be something like that. As
the Giants are punting again with just under six minutes
left on fourth and eleven. I don't know how many
times they's crossed midfield this game, but it has not

(01:35:37):
been often that they have crossed into their own into
opponent territory to score bear catch on the punt, the
Eagles will get the ball about the twenty seven yard
line to start out twenty one nothing Philly. That's ugly.
Football fans, be sure to tune into Fox Sports Radios
Countdown the Kickoff presented by Ben MGM on Sunday morning,
three hours before kickoff, that's right, tune in Sunday morning
ten am. We'll take you all the way live to

(01:35:59):
Fox All the Way I have to kick off on
Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart Radio appresented by
Bet mgm. More Giants Eagles coming up next, Martin and
VJ coming to you l ive from the tiraq dot
Com studios. The Eagles driving on the Giants twenty one
to nothing. J I don't know. Maybe this game will
get better as after we leave, like the last one,
but right now, America is just I mean, the New

(01:36:21):
York metropolitan area is just like poking the Giants with
a stick, like wake up, do something, do something. I
told you when we were talking about the game, you know, preview,
and I said, I it's gonna go one or two ways.
In my opinion. If the Giants win, it'll be close.
I said, But if Philly wins, I would not surprise
me if they if they wiped them off the field.
And what was the square game, Earl, I said, like,
you know, like thirty eight sixteen, thirty eight thirteen. I

(01:36:44):
thought that that would if the Eagles were gonna win,
it wasn't gonna be a close game. We're either gonna
see a team that looks rested like the Kansas City game.
We'rely gonna see a team that looks rested and just
has more Jimmy and Joe's than you. The Giants have
had a great year. Brian Dables really really sold this thing,
tight man, and he's got a little more doing a
little more cement mixer for next season to put together.
But you are seeing the difference and just the talent

(01:37:05):
on the field, the difference in the two quarterbasket. That's
where football starts. The two difference in the quarterbacks. You
either have a guy who was Vegas Is picking Week
fourteen to win the m VP, or Danny Dimes, who
a lot of people didn't even want to be there
after his rookie year, like you know, there were people
that wanted him out that fast and then once again arrested, team, arrested, defense,
arrested offense. God's playing with injuries on the offensive line
for Philly being Lane Johnson. But at the end of

(01:37:27):
the day, man, it's sometimes it ain't you know what
you're drawing up. Man, that's who you're putting out there
right now. It just looks like who they're putting out
there is fresher and more prepared, just better football players
right up up to this point still could be a comeback.
So I'll never do that again. Twenty point leader more.
I'll never call the game over again in my life.
But never you were so confident. God, it forced me

(01:37:47):
to bet the Jaguar because, dude, it looked no, no,
not listen to my defense. Let's be real. They did
not look bleak Martin, like dead serious you and not
just love going to get to each other. That's what's
great about the thing I said, The thing that I said,
initially was as this first half when it was twenty seven,
and then the Jaguars are driving down right before the
first Ingram touched. Yeah you did. Yeah, I'm saying, look,

(01:38:07):
I just I sat there and did the math. I said,
the Chargers should be up shod. It should be thirty
five forty to nothing, and they've settled for two field
goals inside the ten yard line. If I'm the Jaguars,
I gotta feel great defensively. Get us, gotta get us
score and get something going right. And I heard, oh goodness,
who was it Maria Taylor was doing. It was interviewing

(01:38:29):
uh Z Jones, uh Jay Jones and Evan Ingram and
another Jaguars rechief. I don't remember exactly which one, but
Za Jones said, once we saw Evan score, was like,
all right, finally we did something right. And then it
was like, okay, now we can build on the momentum.
It was that's what happened. It was. It was a snowball, man.
It was. Trust me. I'm and I'm watching this game
late because when I got home last week, my kids

(01:38:50):
were rowdy, so you know, my dad's home, so I'm eating,
I'm chilling with my kids man cleaning up Moppy and
sweet kitchen, doing the dishes. I'm not dad, So once
the house gets settled, I didn't start the Jaguar game
over again to like midnight, so the game had been over,
so I didn't know what have happened. My brother Dennis
text me. He goes, have you watched the games? Because
you know I'm the DVR king? He goes, if you

(01:39:11):
watched the games today? I said, I just finished the
first one and I just finished cleaning up the kitchen
and everything, getting the kids down. I'm about to start
the Jazz game. He just text me back, Okay. That
kind of told me, Okay, something might have happened. I
didn't see that, though, And as the game was going on,
I swear I kept thinking about you, I said. I
sat there and talked big. I talked big. I talked
like he talked about like he talked about Purdy. I

(01:39:31):
talked that big like he was talking about Brock Purty.
And now I gotta go in here and eat this
on Saturday. Damn it VJ. But that's what I love
about this man. I like stepping out. But it looked bleak.
Can you least can we all just say it looked
it didn't look good. He threw four interceptions in the
first half. No one, No one comes back from that
down twenty seven to nothing, real quick, Sottbaar, in that game,

(01:39:52):
are you more surprised? Are you surprised that the coach
wasn't fired that somebody knowing the front off the ownership,
They don't really make moves like that. Man, did you
did you? Uh? Did you know that? There was like
that's nice, that's nice. That's a nice little pocket right there.
I promise you nice little you spend it already. I mean, yeah,

(01:40:13):
So I just showed I just showed VJ my one
of my betting tickets I got. I put in for
eighty bucks Jacksonville Jaguars plus eleven hundred. As VJ was screaming,
how it's over, It's over, I actually talked back to
the to the producers. At the time, bo is not here,
but I talked back and I said, I'm betting the

(01:40:33):
Jaguars on the money right now, just simply because you
were so confident. I was just like, this game is
not over. It's not over. As confident as I was
that Jim Harbor was about to blow that college football
playoff game. Was as confident as I was after after
seven or seven that the Jaguars are gonna make it
a game. Well, I didn't think they were gonna win,
but I thought it was like, Yo, when you gave

(01:40:55):
me this, yeah, when you gave me the six points,
I was like, that's a layup. And I'm like, okay,
even if they get it within ten, that's as close
as they can get it. They look horrible and trust me.
So I finished the game at like two, like two
o'clock in the morning, and I remember going in the
room and I go to change my daughter in the
middle of night. I tap right now and I go,
do you know the jazz came back? And when she goes, yeah,

(01:41:15):
I saw it on that and I didn't want to
say anything to you. I said, the jazz came back
and one that damn that damn game. You gotta be
kidding me. So I was honest. I was waiting for
a text or not a text or something, and I
was concerned. Man, it had been like seventeen hours since
you tweeting. I was about to call the police, like, hey,
we had a missing person out of here. Somebody find

(01:41:37):
the big Vanilla. I got locked out of my Twitter
man for like three days, and I'm I'm gonna be
honest with you. I'm not a huge, huge social media guy,
but I love Twitter. I had convulsions, I had hoes,
I was set and man, yes, I was sweating. Man.
I was like, and it's because I went on a
follow train. And on the following train, you follow people
to follow you back, and it was a Dolphin Miami Dolphin.

(01:41:59):
Follow changes the game some more listeners and fans for
the show. And if you do it too many times
in a row, they call that suspicious activity, so they
lock your study, hock my Twitter out, and then I
couldn't remember the email that I used it. I've had
his Twitter account for a while now, and I just
was I just stayed off for like through it. You're
not the only person to say that. Somebody texts me
was like, damn dog, you're not gonna say nothing about

(01:42:19):
the playoff games on what I said. I can't And
Instagram doesn't let you really post like that about sports
except for video clips. So yeah, I just took I took.
I took three days off and it was cool. I mean, look,
I'm glad y'aw missed me though. I just was like,
because I don't want to. I don't want to. I
didn't want to ruin it, right. I know, I know
your Mr DVR. You probably drove on listening to freaking

(01:42:39):
Beethoven on the most are on the way, so I
know you weren't listening to the game when the radio
as I was. You know, I'm watching it on my
phone in the back of ouver like, I'm like, I'm like, look,
he's blowing it. But were drivers like, well, who's blowing what?
I'm like, he's blowing it. He's blowing it is a
double agent? Who drops? Who's Brandon Staley? Oh? Like, dude,

(01:43:02):
this is the Los Angeles. He's like, we have a
football day. Oh my god, Oh my god, oh my god.
I've run into a few of those Uber drives when
you try to spark just small. I hate uncomfortable silence,
like so on the Uber I always hey, how's always start?
How's it good going? And everything safe out here? Man?
Oh yeah, you know? And then then hey, so is
this what you do? Uber is just part timeing out?
What are you doing? I tell when we get talking
to sports sometimes people go oh yeah, dude, I don't

(01:43:24):
know anything about it would be a grown man. And
I'm like, you don't watch no, dude, I don't watch
anything man. You know, I don't even are the Raiders
still here? I was like, yeah, alright, just dry bro. Yeah,
I'm I'm gonna get on my phone and play Angry
Birds Too, which is one of my favorite. Oh I
love that game. I oh god, I'd beat all Angry
Birds one and I'd be Angry Birds seasons. So now
I'm on Angry Birds too. I'm a slight nerd Martin.

(01:43:46):
There's some things about me. People. Yes, Angry Birds, man,
you don't play Angry Birds. I mean I did in
like two and see say, you don't have to throw
the year out like you When I was doing that,
you didn't have to do that. I thought we was
having a moment it and you went there, Well this
is back when I was working overnight at the radio station.
I had nothing but time. And did you play Candy Crush? No?

(01:44:06):
Never too many levels, bro, you can't win? I know,
they kept it was just stupid. Y'all are literally moving
the goal pos how much supposed to play this? Give?
If I can't win it? I usually quitted like five
sixty four. Its like, yo, hold up, why is there
four or not? I'm not doing this. I'm not doing this.

(01:44:27):
Hell out of here, Steven Sager. The Philadelphia Eagles are
knocking on the door. I was trying to get him
an opportunity to score a touchdown before I kicked it
to you. But can you tell me what else is
trending in the world of sports? Because this one's over. Yeah,
I got it. It's first and goal. Eagles are already
up twenty one nothing a minute and a half ago
in the first half against the Giants. This is on
Fox TV. This is how lopsided the first half is

(01:44:50):
three touchdowns for Philly Giants with three first downs so far,
it's seventeen first downs to three. The Philly advantage on
all fence it's about two hundred fifty five yards to
fifty five. At this point. The Eagles offenses were on
forty one plays to sixteen, more than double the time
of possession. Again, they're on the doorsteps scoring again. Jalen

(01:45:12):
Hurts with two touchdown passes twelve of seventeen a hundred
eighteen yards and more than once he's gotten down to
the turf quickly when he scrambled protecting the shoulder. Twenty
one nothing for the moment over the Giants again about
a minute ago, now on a second and goal coming up.
This would put the Eagles the top seed in the
NFC at fifteen and three the top seed in the

(01:45:34):
a f C. Kansas City now fifteen and three after
beating Jacksonville twenty seven to twenty. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes with
two touchdown passes, trying to play through a sprained ankle.
He says he'll play next week. Travis Kelsey fourteen receptions
yards and two scores, and Isaiah Pacheco of the Chiefs
on twelve carries had ninety five yards rushing. Clyde Edwards

(01:45:55):
Hilaire is still out. The Chiefs make the a f
C title game and could host it for the fifth
straight season. We'll find out tomorrow when Cincinnati plays at Buffalo.
The Bengals are missing three injured offensive lineman this weekend,
and the Dallas Cowboys at thirteen and five, have to
play at San Francisco tomorrow. The Niners have won eleven
straight games. That will be the late game on Fox

(01:46:16):
TV tomorrow, six thirty pm Eastern time. Jalen Hurts with
a five yard touchdown run Philly now twenty seven nothing
in the lead and going for two in the final
minute before halftime. To the college Basketball Scoreboard, Number four teen,
TCU got its first ever win at Kansas beat the

(01:46:36):
number two rank Jayhawks beat him up eight three to sixty.
TCU had been oh and eleven at Fallallen Field Dales
wins for Alabama and Texas in the top ten wins
for Xavier, Tennessee and Virginia as well. Eleventh ranked Arizona
at home defeated number five U c l A fifty
fifty two. The Bruins had won fourteen straight games. Oklahoma

(01:46:57):
State at home came back to beat number twelve Iowa
States st one fifty nine and Duke Edge number seventeen
Miami sixty sixty six. NBA wins for Washington and Boston.
The Celtics of one nine straight got a victory at
Toronto today one oh six, one oh four, even though
Jayson Tatum was out with a sore risk Jalen Brown
twenty seven points. Former Trailblazers announcer Bill shown Lee died

(01:47:19):
today at the age of ninety three, and former Oakland.
A third baseman, sal Bando passed away of cancer at
the age of seventy eight. It is now twenty eight
and he kicked the extra point twenty eight nothing Eagles
over the Giants late first half. Back to you and
you know, v J. I don't know exactly what was
going on there, Martin and Will coming to you live
from the Hirac dot com studios, but it seemed like

(01:47:43):
some gamesmanship out of Syrianni just now lining up to
go for two with the twenty seven point lead, but
totally unnecessary. I understanding what the thought process was, and
then it was to see if they were gonna jump.
But it's just I mean, maybe you see I did. Look,
we got forty five seconds left and a half two timeouts.
Can't take them with us. It It's just that was weird.
That was a weird move up four touchdowns to go

(01:48:06):
for to line up stuff like that. It's gonna make
him tryt something stupid down the line. You know what
I'm saying. Stupid is a stupid does Okay, the movie
made like a billion dollars, right, it's a great line. Okay, listen,
that's just dumb. That doesn't make sense. But that's almost
like a you know, you know what. It's the same
way they say you you're smart in yourself you you're

(01:48:29):
too smart for your own good. That's one of those
coaching moves. You're just a little too they're not too
much dip on your chip, Yeah, exactly, off the sauce,
and you too much dip on your chip, which is
a bad chip. You never want more dip on your
chip because now you've got a mouth of creamy dip,
which just chips flowing around. And and then that person
looks greedy. Now you look greedy at the Super Bowl
falls off and sweater now you're wearing. Now you're wearing

(01:48:52):
seven layer being dip. Congratulations. You know what. I've never
in my life had seven layer being dip. I've just
always heard about it. I'm more of a ruffles and
sour cream and onion are French onion dip guy, very basic.
Seven layer being dip to a cousin of casserole color
from Yeah, alright. I haven't had a lot of casse roles,
I know, you know, neither of I people we don't

(01:49:15):
don't say it's because a lot of people don't do
cast role like that. Is a cousin of the casserole.
It's kind of you know, so what is it? They
had bunk beds as kids. The casserole and seven layer
being there, you know, they're kind of they're kind of
of the same of the same vibe. Well, he had
too much dip on his chip, so it's just just
a weird call. And he's also an aggressive thing to

(01:49:36):
call dip because what type of dip has seven layers?
I gotta said, well, you know, maybe seven layered, uh,
tortilla casse role. Most most meals have like seven ingredients.
You know, you stuck off and you stuck seven into one.
That's gotta be listened. That's gotta be a strong chip
to go through seven layers of something. There's no way

(01:49:59):
you're dipping in that. You got you must use a
spoon or four car knife or something. Right, there's no
way you can dip a chip into that. There's that
that that's impossible, right, Maybe a Friedo scoop. See I
don't eat Friedo's like that. Bro, You just you know
frieds like, it doesn't seem like it's gonna line up

(01:50:19):
for you to have the too much. I didn't have
I didn't have the chili, the cheet the chili cheese
friedos that are popular out here in l A. I
didn't have those until I moved here. And the only
reason why I tried the bad because I remember a
little fat kid in Friday telling Big Worm that that's
what he wanted, the ice cream truck. That's the only
I was like, oh, hold on, man, let me try
with these chili cheese friedos. And I brought a bag
and I was like, okay, but they're They're the thing

(01:50:41):
out here, like that's a that's a popular snack. Care
I never really I'm basic dude barbecue and playing chip.
I don't do a lot of flavored chips. To go
with your Friday reference. Right now, the Eagles are playing
Deebo and the Giants looked like red oh man, they
are man and listen right before the half here said
they got the ball and they're driving or try to drive,
but Daniel Jones and listen, here's here's here's the difference

(01:51:04):
between last week and this week. And this is not
to take anything away from the Giants. This is giving
props to the Philly That's not Minnesota's defense that's out
there today guys. That's not their defense. Boys and girls,
ladies and gentlemen. That Phillies defense and the completely different
defense than what he saw in Minnesota. And that's the
difference right now. Man, it's twenty eight points that this
defense that the Giants field are putting up, and that's

(01:51:27):
not Philly's. And Philly is not Minnesota's offense. Kirk Cousins
is not Jalen Hurts. And once again, you only have
one real receiver to worry about last week. You have
three and a running back now and he could catch
the ball out of the back. So it's a different team, man.
A big difference in between watching this game and the
divisional rounds of the NFC and the a f C
wild card. The Jaguars were moving the ball. They just

(01:51:50):
weren't scoring touchdown. They were getting first down, they were
turning it over. The Giants. Let me tell you something.
Guys are not moving the ball one bit, and that
right there is it's not good math. I mean Daniel
Jones six for ten for fifty seven yards passing, Okay,
I mean they have twenty total rushing yards in the

(01:52:12):
first half, total yards total. I mean this is not
I put it like this man the recipe for a
comeback right now. They need to go shopping. Yeah, they
need to go shopping. They're gonna need go go get
the toty satiries. We need you forgot the bananas, like whatever,

(01:52:35):
go back to the store and get it right. Because
Nick Sirianni and his team are They are kicking ask
and taking names in the first half. We'll see what
happens at halftime. Peyton Manning just said on Monday night
that halftime adjustments or things of a fire he did.
He said that half. I know that was but that
was ill coming from such a legendary guy like him,
though you would think he would make adjustment well, I think.

(01:52:58):
I think the underlying point is if you're waiting to
half time to adjust, it's too late. It's too late.
You should have found your adjustment period. Sometimes and this
again go back to last the the Jaguars Jaguars Chargers game.
The Jaguars started to make their adjustments, been with through
the quarter before the half. Okay, cool, now we're figuring
it out at half time. There's the adjustment half time.

(01:53:19):
Were gonna do what? Just work? Just and so but
the you know, the giant right now, Yeah, nothing has worked,
so I guess it's out of the game. Four for
seven one point eight to carry, bro nothing has worked,
so I guess the slate is wide open. You know
what makes this that weird? His longest run of US
four as five, so he has to he has so
he has two yards on the other That's kind of

(01:53:41):
the way he is though, that's kind of the He's
always been that way. He's always been eight carries for
thirteen yards and in the ninth when it's a thirty
five yard carrying and boom, there you go. But I mean,
what are you gonna do? Not give him the ball?
Like downy eight nothingnet the slot, big fellow, go get

(01:54:02):
the coming back. I'm going it to you, big fellow.
That's the way it's gonna gets. Martin, It's disgusting. Maybe
coming up next Martin and VJ, Fox Sports Radio, Fox
Sports Football Saturday, Martin and VJ coming to you live
from the tirerac dot Com Studios. Tell you this was
the song of the summer. Come out. Oh my god,

(01:54:23):
this was the best thing. This is the best. This
might be the best interest music since in wo or
The Undertaker, like dead serious. This might be the best
entrix music and entertainment other than n w O and
The Undertaker. This thing was killing it all summer long.
It made me put the song on my phone. I
do cardio to the arcles. Yeah yeah, I get me

(01:54:44):
the b B Bye bye. It's time for the Progressive
Player of the Day, all right. Brought to you by
Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable. Get a

(01:55:04):
Bundle and save at Progressive dot com. A lot of
rookies down the second. Here comes up Blitz and the
right side throw. It's gonna be in a shop gun
on one handed round. Jalen Watson goes up and snatches
it out of the sky with the one handed interception
on an attempted whale round. I'll tell you what b
J Listen seventh round picks making a difference. Al Right,

(01:55:27):
you had brock party last week. Isaiah Pachecko today with
ninety yards for the Chiefs in a game in which
starting quarterback I don't know, he just misses the whole quarter.
And then Jalen, how about it. Call him Jalen watch Jackson.
Jalen who's that second Jalen names the day Jalen Watson,
third seventh round pick, making a game ceiling interception on

(01:55:49):
Trevor Lawrence. Jalen watchs Jackson is the guy who recovered
the snap when Michigan had trouble with it. And you said,
this guy was a seventh round pick that made the
interception today and Jalen Watson shows you. It shows you
how you can mind talent all through the draft. Man,
It's not all first and second round guys. Man. When
they say sixties sevent of your roster is made up
of fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh round and undrafted guys that

(01:56:11):
are on NFL rosters, that's cool to hear. Man, that's dope.
I ain't mad at it, you know it is, uh.
I mean, think about your seventh round pick. You don't
even know if you're making the team. Bro. You gotta
make the team as a seventh round pick, and if
you do, you're most likely a special teamers or practice
squad guy that they decided to keep it put on
the practice squad. You have zero guarantees as a dog.

(01:56:33):
By the seventh round of the draft. If I'm draft eligible,
I'm out shopping like I'm not sitting on the sofa waiting.
I'm out playing golf. I'm out fit something. I'm doing
something to just keep my mind. Trust me, my cell
phone's gonna ring if I get drafted. They're gonna call me.
That's cool. But I'm not sitting on the sofa to
the seventh round. That's day four. The only seventh round

(01:56:53):
draft pick that I know personally, Shannon Sharp's playing basketball
when he got drafted. Was it was open. He was
playing somewhere. If somebody had to come, I was about
to say, no something, I had to come run over
and uh and and tell them hey too. The phone,
bever broncos like talk to somebody on the phone, Remember
those day. Well, I don't know. I don't know if
you were old enough when you're playing outside that you

(01:57:14):
would get a call from inside the house. Hey, you know,
v it was somebody on the phone for you. Te'll
call me back, Tell call me back. I'm not I'm
not old enough where I wasn't taking calls. I'm old enough,
I'm outside. It was up the age of where my
mother called my name. I just ran over there to
see what she wanted. So mom was like one of
my brothers. We wouldn't respect my brothers and I were

(01:57:34):
least respectful with the phone. We might have argued and
fault like brothers do over certain things, but we never
had like phone issues. You're on the phone your girl
for too long? Would to call my girl type dingy?
And if somebody call you, get you? You know, you
call your brother Yo, didnas? You'll tell yo? Somebo on
the phone for you. So if you're out right outside.
We had a basketball hoop in my driveway for most
of my life growing up. So if you're you know, whooping,
hey V Yeah so' on the phone, call me back.
And I'm playing on trees one on one right now.

(01:57:55):
You know what I'm saying, like, yeah, I'm that old
before pages, like before kids said, yeah, I don't have
my first pagets In nineteen four five ninetive, I was
in the eleventh grade Garfield Senior High School. Because when
I was able to buy my first pager from my
part time job at the mall, I've never had a
wow word. You've always just had a cell phone. I

(01:58:15):
got his phone and then have you ever had a cassette. Yeah,
h what you mean? I know what you mean. I
had tape decks in the car, but you never had
a tape when we had tapes as kids, but they
were like you know, so I'd say bye. By nine
ten years old, it was CCDs, pretty n I didn't
have my first CD until I was a sophomore in

(01:58:36):
high school. It's fifteen tell you what short run by CDs?
Very short? Oh I go, well, yeah, welcome in, say
I go back to walk. But I mean the evolution
of that short runs. That's how you can tell us
a twenty eight point game lever watching right now with
the Eagles and the Giants we're talking about. But I
mean CDs only had like twenty years, only had a
twenty year running now, people, I haven't bought I haven't

(01:58:57):
purchased one. Fine real quick before we go. My last
