Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
They're both legends at the bank. Will either become legends
of the game.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
Just a second. I'm Martin Weiss joined he with my.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Co host VJ Husky as he cheeses for the iPad
camera as he does at the start up every show.
Do not adjust your radio, Do not adjust your dial. Yes,
this is still Sunday. I understand that generally eight pm
Eastern on Saturday you're subjected to this madness we call
a radio show. Well, guess what double dipping this week?
That's right there, you go, All right, VJ. A lot
(00:34):
a lot on the floor today. A lot of Olympic
stuff happened earlier today. I'm sure you were locked in
and watching them, getting your DVR that to watch it later.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
What are you watching later? What have you not seen yet?
Speaker 3 (00:43):
I have to go back and watch the swimming because
I was all into the basketball. Just to help my
colleagues here out at Fox Sports Radio, I was listening
to a great job on the updates. I was listening
driving in and Know and Schwartz were wondering what was live.
I have the answer for that. What is live is
the stuff that is airing here at three am and
four am, that stuff is live and I'm up at
(01:04):
those hours. Now the prime time stuff, you hit me
to it because we're in here doing the show last
night and I'm like, hold on, they already played this game.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
You said, yeah, this is the this is THEOS. They
redo it, they redo it. This the East Coast prime time.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
So with social media now nowadays, though, you you kind
of gotta get up or you got at least set
your DVR for the stuff you want to watch, because
by the time you get to our our West Coast
and East coast prime times, they're what twelve hours ahead
of us I believe is it our ten hours because
there's seven or six from the.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
East coast if there's six from the East coast, so
none from US.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
So that's a nine hour difference. Is that's you know,
almost a half a day. So yes, there is live Olympics.
You gotta catch it. I was watching the Sudan and
Puerto Rico at about three a m. And that that
game was live. So yes, there is live Olympics. You
just if you're on the West coast, you gotta be
laid out like myself vampire style and catch on. If
(01:56):
you're on excuse me, West coast. If you're on the
East coast, it's cracking down early in the morning.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Also, just look at your TV and see, you know,
is it light outside?
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Look outside your window? Dark outside? Ah? Got it? Or Google?
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Like you know time in Paris.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Did you're gonna.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
See them play the wrong national anthem?
Speaker 1 (02:15):
I heard about I heard about it. I heard about it.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Well, there's gonna be mistakes made, nothing, nothing's nothing's perfect.
There's been a lot of questionable stuff about these Olympics already.
I won't indulgence of that on our show here, but
you know it happens, but I will Martin. You got
one job, bro, that's to play the right.
Speaker 5 (02:31):
So yeah, absolutely, And I think they also messed up
and they switched South Korea and they called them by
the North Korean name.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
What you don't want to do, Yeah, what you don't
want to do.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
But you know what, the clinical side of me, Mary
just makes me feel like, you know, someone's playing a
cruel little jazz Like that's the world we live in now,
where nothing I don't believe anything's by total accident. Also
believe there's something behind everything. But Martin, I will check
in on back into the swimming or on check out Walsh.
(03:02):
I'll check back in on some own biles. She did
not qualify for then even bars, but she will qualify
for everything else.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
She's got that calf.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Injury going right now, so I will go back discomfort, Yeah, yeah, discomfort.
I will go back and check some stuff out tonight,
but then I'll be up late again, so I'll roll
right into all the two am and three am, three
am start stuff, four am starts.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Yeah, I see, I see your game. Yeah, I see
your game. Well, where do you listen to and talk
about TEMs right now? Since we just spent four minutes
talking about the Olympics, what was your takeaway from watching
them beat Serbia earlier today one ten to eighty four
of the final score.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Kevin Durant Man, Kevin Durant. I didn't see that coming.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
You know, he hasn't played, he's had the calf, and
last time Durant had a calf, he tours Achilles like
it's it's It was a worrisome thing. Kerr had to
really come out and put the fire out that listen.
There was no thought of taking them off the team
or sending him home or him not playing, I think
a bigger question as far as not playing goes as
(04:00):
Jason Tatum did not look too happy sitting on the
bench over there.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
He was not a very engaged and.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
He had a very kind of w t F look
on his face sitting there getting.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
I know who would have been super excited, Jalen Brown,
I'm sure, oh my god, zero minutes, zero minutes today.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
But Kevin Durant, man, God just comes in off the bench,
just starts lighting it up.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
You know, they played well today.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
EMBIID though, like you and I have both been on it,
and now it's starting to become from the very first start, yep,
from the very first time his team's put together. Martin
and I sat on our show and said, what are
you doing with EMBIID? And it's showing you gotta start
Anthony Davis, okay, and and and go from there. But
today wasn't very entertaining game. They look good, Steph hit
some shots, so you can feel the energy. It's it's
(04:44):
the Olympics, man, It's Team USA. It's the team we've
been you know, waiting to see all the exhibition stuff
didn't matter to me. Now it's like, Okay, this all
actually actually counts, so you know, but Kevin Durant jumped
off the screen to.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Me, you know, Jason Tatum was man.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
If I was Kevin Durant would have been mad after
going was it five for five? Three of them and
hadn't missed a shot from the floor in the whole
first half? It was a two point game that I
came in and put you guys on in the backpack
and just stretched his lead and said, watch me be unguardable.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Then to come out and not play until like, why
am I not starting the second half? Steve? What's going on?
Point deferential matters?
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Here? I am on a all time heater, man, what
I've been sitting forever? Could I at least get warm?
Speaker 1 (05:32):
I definitely would have had to ran it a lot longer.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
And watching the game, I did kind of say to
myself at one point, like I ain't seen Kad in
a minute?
Speaker 2 (05:39):
It was good the calf again?
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Like the third quarter? Did he strain the calf again?
Speaker 6 (05:45):
Like?
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Did something?
Speaker 3 (05:46):
I started to think that because as we got to
like the seventh min the sixth minute left him third quarter,
I still see.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
No KD on the court.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
I'm like, oh, man, I hope it's not. I hope
it's not the calf, which it turned out not to be.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
But I said nothing. But did Steve Kurt decide what
do we need him for? He had done?
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Is not miss a shot.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
You're gonna bang on Steve Kurt a whole Olympics.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
I can see it.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
I mean, you would have banged on Steve Kurt the
entire limit you owt to Hartman wonted them fire last
week after the Sudan game.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Don't even give Steve Hartman had all types of takes
Steve Kurt today, none of but the ones that I'm
talking about is this these rotations to continue to make
zero sense to me, Like, I you know, I mean,
good on you, Devin Booker.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
You have figured something out because you could just on
the court. I think that's what Jason Tatum was looking.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
He's like, look, hey, I'm three inches taller the Devin Booker.
At least maybe that's what data was looking like, come on, man,
can I get a little.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
A run on defense?
Speaker 3 (06:44):
Maybe something's afoot. There's you can't explain to me how
Jason Tatum, who just won an NBA championship, Okay, and
we were questioning was he the guy? And then the
close out game he put up a thirty plus p
was defending, was rebounding his ass off. He gets to
the Olympics and on the opening game against Serbia, you
(07:08):
sit Jason Tatum and Kevin didn didn't Grant Hill and
and and Jalen Brown have some type of I saw
something on Twitter.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
I didn't pay too much attention to the World War.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Yeah, so it just feels like, I hope that's not
what it is, because that would be bush league if that,
you know, yeah, that's what the Yeah, of course, I
mean that's the way they wanted to look like.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
It's not that.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
Okay, but you know, okay, then just give me a
reason not you just I would ask her, I would
ask the coach Stow, Okay, just give me a reason
why he's not playing though. This is Jason Tatum. This
isn't this isn't Haliburton, right, this isn't Booker. This is
Jason Tatum, and you're not playing him on the world's
largest stage in the Olympics for Team USA and he's
coming off of a championship that you know.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
So Steve Kerr after the game looks weird to me.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
He said, quote, I felt like an idiot not playing him.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Oh see, that'll change. Every game will be different.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
He's an amazing guy, a great player, and he handled
it beautifully. He'll be back out there next game. So
forty minute games so you can't play more than ten players,
and he said, oh wow.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
He said.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
He also spoke with him before the game, letting him
know playing time might be minimal. He said, yeah, it's tough,
but Jason handled to well. Talked to him before the game.
They play out there with Kevin coming back and the lineup,
said he I wanted to get to that'll change. Jason
is going to play. Every game is going to be
different based on matchups. I have a question for you, sir.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
Do you did it look like he took it well?
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Real talk?
Speaker 1 (08:39):
I'll ask arounds round the studio. We all saw.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Did he look like he took it well? He looks
like he was sitting in the middle of math class.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Yeah, that didn't look like he took it well. That
looked like he was probably like, Okay, what's this about.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Why are you telling me this? I'm a vet, I'm
a champion.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
Why you shouldn't be saying this to maybe real talk
booker or or maybe or maybe Holliday, Well, I think
should be saying that to one of those.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
Guys that I don't even know if that that comes
into the context of what he's thinking.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
What I'd be.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Thinking, is this second unit that you had me on
the first five games have been clearly better than the
first unit through the first five games. Like, how is
it that I'm the one that's getting phased out of this?
That's what I would think if I was I don't
even know if the because I mean, you got thinks.
A lot of NBA champions out there, do you know
what I'm saying, a lot of guys who have they're
playing well. I mean just I'm just saying, when you
(09:29):
have the accolades, there's a couple other guys that out
there with the same accolades, and the hell Derek White
and Drew Ole just won the same championship.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Yeah, okay, so who's the better of those three guys?
It's Tatum. If you look at I get what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
I'm just saying, if if you're if we are doing
the armchair psychology of what is going through Jason Tatum's brain,
I think it would be more of what happened in
the last five games, Like why if I'm Jayson said,
I would be just give me in B's eleven minutes
to see what happens there.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Yeah, I think you know what I'm saying like that.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
I think there's a lot of you can point to
in the last five games where jameson Datum say's I
have an argument to play that has nothing to do
with what happened in.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
The NBA, don't.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
I don't think I agree with that.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
I think just human nature for professional pro athlete not
to look at it in such a minute situation. I
think they're looking at it like, hey, you know, okay,
these five games short, But I hell, I'm Jason Tatum.
I just you know, I ball with these guys. I
beat these guys head to head. I ball in this
league with these guys. I'm gonna all start with these guys.
(10:30):
I'm an all pro with these guys. I don't think
it's just these five games.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
I think human.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Nature, that's how I would be thinking. I wouldn't narrow
down to five games. I'm looking at the landscape of
the team and the landscape of what we've all done. Okay,
STEP's got some rings, Bron's got some rings, Ad got
a ring, Duran's got some rings.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
And yeah, White and Holiday got rings.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
But you could pull those two guys off the USA
team and nobody would miss them to No one would
miss White or Holiday off of this USA team. But
you think Jason Tatum, Yeah, he's a USA Olympic player
and he should be on the floor, not a USA
Olympic player and Christian Latner.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
This ain't ninety two. Say nobody will miss hyd or
Height or White or Holiday. Will nobody miss Tatum today
except for the camera cutting to him.
Speaker 7 (11:16):
I think you'd missed Derek White.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
I think so too. On this team.
Speaker 7 (11:19):
White's a perfect international basketball player.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
I think his game to your point bow translated like
duay that Kevin Durant is amazing, but he's perfect for
international basketball, and to David's perfect for international bet Derek
White is another one.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
I just don't think you miss him.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
I'm not disagreeing with him being a good fit for
your international basketball, but I believe if you pull him
off this team, they still win. This score is still
the same today.
Speaker 8 (11:45):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
I get it.
Speaker 7 (11:47):
I think this is all just mind games from Steve Kerry,
he's trying to break up the Celtics.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
I like to see you're see you with me, Bo,
you feel me there's something something, but.
Speaker 7 (11:57):
You're you're trying to drive you drive away. Yeah, you're
trying to do that.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
So trying to freeze them out, Steve Kerry. You know,
I was reading this article earlier today that was like,
is the next face of basketball coming out of the
twenty twenty four Paris Olympics? And it was by Anthony Evers.
But you know, to the point it could be Jason Tatum,
but not if he sits on the bench the whole time,
Fat Carr doing exactly. That's chestnut checkers right there.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Over under thirteen and a half minutes, next game for
Jason Tatum, over for sure.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
After making a big deal about it, way this is
going to go over.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
There's nobody asked, you know, put the number right that
my obviously my mind was too low because you.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Know, I thought it was gonna I'd say, like probably
somewhere between fifteen and twenty.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Okay, so let's thirteen to have one a bad number.
I just think after you do all.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Of this prostrating and public media, you kind of have
to Yeah, you got Now you gotta play them, right,
It's like Halliburton didn't play either.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Nobody's singing these same sad songs.
Speaker 9 (12:52):
You know.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
Yeah, But to me, how, I'm not saying a guy team.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
I'm like, I'm not saying he should have made I'm
not saying he should have been playing. But the point
is there's two people that didn't play, and we're only
talking about one of them. Right, So now you want
to say thirteen and a half for Haliburton going to there?
Coming up next, we'll talk about two legends at the bank,
But will they be legends of the game? What does
(13:17):

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Somebody got mad at me the other day and said,
tell me you know when people say tell me something
something without telling me something something. Somebody too, was like,
tell me you don't pay attention to social media without
telling me you don't pay attention to social media. And
if somebody listens to the shot said, pro is that
the best.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
You got today? Dog?
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Is that I would and I woke up wanting to
be for on Twitter. That's the best you hit me with. Man, Uh,
let's see what we got here, man select Jason, Jason
my man. He's always listening to Hell Yeah a Sunday
to question Mark, what a tree?
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Answer Tree? Fro Us two man whenever we get a
little bit of extra.
Speaker 3 (16:05):
Tom Paul Ross at Fox Sports Radio, at Martin White's
at Big Vanilla Funny says, Slim Reaper, most lethal scoring
all time and the goat of the Olympics. Who I
mean not gonna lie ooh what he did to Tad,
Spicy and Andy and he posted the highlights He got
the highlights under the tweet.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
I mean, because when you watch him, it's just like wow. Yeah,
Like that's part of the reason. Honestly when people were like, oh, Wemby,
he's just like Kevin Durant. No, He's like, I'm like no,
he's not, like you can't tell me that there's more
than one of these on the planet. Look at him, like, no,
our refusal.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
I could not wrap my brain around it. And he's
and these shots. I'm watching the highlights that can post it.
These shots, they're just hitting the bottom of the net.
I think only one touch the rim. And he's just
pulling up. And this looks like Kevin Durant when he
was with Golden State in the finals. He's just launching
shots and they're just all going.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
You just never miss it, like he's good. You look
up and all of a sudden, Wow, he's got thirty five.
When did that happen? On seventeen shots? He didn't miss
one of them?
Speaker 1 (17:10):
All Right.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
At the bottom of the hour, we're talking about who's
the newly signed quarterbacks is in a better situation? But
right now, j I gotta ask you a question. Have
you seen a recent picture of Giants head coach Brian Dable? No?
I have not. Now I'm intrigued. Google Google it right now,
Google it, Google Brian Dable like a Giants training camp.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Yeah, okay, current picture? Okay, what can I guess before
I google it? What do you drop a bunch of
pounds because you know he's a big guy. Uh, but hey,
we've seen coaches do that before. We've seen coaches come
back leaner, and then Ron Rivere do that one year,
came back to camp and was lean and uh, you know, fit,
and talked about his eating and his and his diet.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
So this was Brian Dable when he got the Giants,
got the Bills head head coaching job right off at
the cordon.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
That's just what I'm saying. Year before he.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Got the Giant at coaching job. All right, they look
at Brian dave Ball today. I'm pulling it up right now,
Brian Daboll curve.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Oh okay, all right, it's one of the looking a
little lean in the face there.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
I wonder what he cut out.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
So what he said was because everybody's like, oh, Brian
dabeles On no zipig.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Right they said about everybody lose his weight.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
I mean it might be true for a lot, right,
But he says that his workout plan of the reason
he lost all this weight was because he fell in
love with pilates. Oh yeah, love plates. I've never done
pilates before.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Should plates and yoga.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Yogave familiar with yoga? Yeah, I've never done pilates yep.
But this is what Joe Shane told Kay Adams and said.
The first week and a half he was dying, he
could barely move, But now after sticking with it for
a couple of weeks, he's addicted. Vijay, he sound like
somebody that's Pilate's experience.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
Yes, I like it. I love it a lot right
now is big on it.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
She goes every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday without failing. Whenever
I got the kids, she'll sneak out for Saturday morning
class too.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
Is it possible to lose that much weight from like
a Pilate's addiction.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
It's true, It is true.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
It is.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
It is because what it does is it trains the
body like yoga. For me, right, it was a stretching
tool because I'm a I'm a big guy and the
big legs right, so my legs always my yeah, big
vanilla baby, and my my thighs and quas are always
really tight and I don't care how much I stretch,
they just still stay tight. Yoga holding those poses, meditating,
closing your eyes, zoning in.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
It is a whole thing. Pilates on machines.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
It's all about resistance training and slow movement and holding
which helps build the muscle, and when you build them, Also,
when you stretch the muscle fibers and you build the
muscle fibers stronger, they release more dorferences into the body
that burns body fat. That's why they always tell you
do legs twice a week. What I tell you yesterday, Mary,
I did lake? How many times I was hungry and
walking out of here. I had to get out of here.
I was lightheaded because I did lakes three days last week.
(20:15):
So that means your metabolism shoots high because you're burning
a lot and you got to replace that back into
your body. You eat the right things with that, you'll
drop weight. So I guarantee you his diets changed. I
guarantee you he cuts sugar, fried food, and carbs if
he if anybody ever asked him, I guarantee you through
those three things, he will mention that he cut definitely
(20:38):
sugars to a cut sugar. Two showed up the camp
and cut sugar.
Speaker 4 (20:42):
It just goes so fast, it goes fast, insane, it
goes fast.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
I lost like eight pounds in one week and cut sugar.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
No gummy bears, no skittles, no sugary drinks, no power
drinks like, no gatorading enough that I drank water all
week long, and I got on cucumber and vegetable juice.
I get the cucumbers and vegetabs from the store. Pill him,
put him in the blender. I don't add nothing to it.
If you just post it, it blends it down. He
let us sit for a minute. Turns of your juice.
You drink that. I saw that in health magazine.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
If I start going to pilates three or four days
out of the week starting next week, by how long?
Speaker 1 (21:17):
How long is the NFL offseason? Right? The Giants were
done by what December?
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Yeah? Oh juar war January January and to January? Right, Okay,
so it is now.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
July July twenty eighth, seven months.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
Seven months, man, I guess seven months is a long time.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
You think it is?
Speaker 2 (21:33):
It is?
Speaker 5 (21:33):
And you add pilates and then let's say, I'm assuming
he's also working out do that and yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
But what I'm just saying, I didn't do the math
on that all the way. I'm thinking, like it's like
the NBA off season where these guys are like.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Doing oh like this, dude, did see that's your all
of a sudden sor ready to judge. I was curious.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
I wanted to know our cod our, our our colleague
here and Bo, you might speak to this better than me.
Jason Smith, didn't he lose a bunch of weight just
doing internetic inter intermediate fast thing. Yeah, he lost like
a tonnel and he and he was still talking about
his Big Mac, Big Max. If you listen to Fox
Sports Radio, if you hear Big Mac, it's attached to
ja why you're fasting.
Speaker 5 (22:10):
Your body goes into like some some sort of mode
and you start burning a lot faster. So that's like
even what I did. And bubbles like, are you losing weight?
Like what I'm like, dude, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
And then we got Alex Dvegan.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
He's the perfect example, right He's the perfect example right there.
So you had pilates with a really good diet and
stop eating processed food and drinking sugary stuff. Trust me, man,
you your body, you will drop weight. We have hard
processed food we eat.
Speaker 5 (22:37):
It's a lot harder to plate. Is a lot harder
than what people think. I think people are like, oh,
it's apparently, yeah, Brian looks like a whole.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
New person after the summer of pilates.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
Martin, I took a boxing class after like the first
two class box I was. I thought I was still
kind of in decent shape for forty six no, no botching.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Boxing will show you just how long three minutes is.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
Oh my, what man? We weren't even doing that. We
were doing one forty five sorr. You look up at
the clock.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Back when I was in good shape, pre covid, I
was going to boxing class by four times a week.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
Have you guys done the main That's the one I
was going to.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
I was going to that boxing and my one of
my fat brothers was one of the teachers or whatever.
So I was the one in Cub City. Nah, it
was the one in Hollywood. Okay, there's something all over,
but I was go. I would go three four days
a week, and maybe sometimes if you get into it,
you'd be like, oh, jab cross jah cross c jah
jab cross, and you look up and it's like, wait
a minute, one minute, fifteen seconds, it's been at least
(23:38):
five minutes. Let us with Steve the Sager saying it's
one minute over, it's been at least five minute.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
What'ren't even talking about? Come to me, all right, Steve,
what's going on?
Speaker 2 (23:46):
My friend?
Speaker 11 (23:46):
I heard you talking about not eating on purpose that
I just tuned out. Going God here. US men's basketball

is Tuesday, and guys, we can update the TV ratings
that we mentioned a bit on a show last night,
just by comparison the NBA regular season games be it
(26:19):
TNT this past season or ABC, ESPN. The national TV
games for NBA regular season average one point six million viewers.
Olympic opening ceremonies twenty eight point six million viewers on Friday,
and then last night thirty two million viewers across the
NBC Universal platform. So that would include Peacock last night,
(26:42):
but massive ratings so far.
Speaker 1 (26:43):
Bet, do you.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Just imagine if they only had Caitlin Clark on the
women's team and I mean, yeah, what were they thinking?
Speaker 1 (26:51):
I mean, that's part of what.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
That literally thirty times the amount of people are watching
the Olympics that are watching these games these regular seasons
It's like people the idea of that you d Can'tler
Clark to boost the rating. This is the United States.
Speaker 1 (27:06):
I think people might be youching, thank you where America.
Speaker 11 (27:10):
By the way, this is better for her that she's
got a month thought.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
Yeah, I agree, Yes, even though Tarico bought her name
up with Don Staley, which I just I cringed a little.
And it's like, look, she's not here, she didn't make
the team. Let's talk about who's here. But I get it.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
She was ready to go at All Star weekend.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
Yeah, oh yeah, oh you can oh, you can see it.
She's ready, like yeah, to.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
The three point contest. She's like, oh, hold on again,
hold on a second, guy, I need my PTO.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
You guys want to put me on the world stage
after what I've endured. No, I'll take the break.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
I'll be on. She'll be trust me. She'll be in
LA in twenty eight.
Speaker 11 (27:42):
As I said at the time, and this has been
many weeks since they made out the roster. I think
we're pretty well set at guard. This is somewhat deep
in the sport of basketball. And by the way, say
it out loud. US women's hoops since nineteen eighty four
in the Olympics is sixty nine and one and one.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
There you go. I know only one thing that could
stop that streak. That's if if I place the bet
on them. So I will go ahead, and for the
sake of the country, I will I will not open
the sports book and place a bet that.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
I actually want to believe you, but I don't. I
just I think the better in you.
Speaker 3 (28:15):
At some point, you're gonna be laying on your sofa
one night, on in your phone on your bet and app,
and you're gonna see a line you like, No, that's
gonna go Martin.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
Do you know what I thought about today though?
Speaker 2 (28:25):
Hey Martin, you make some extra money, You've had a
lot of shifts.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
Go ahead, throw twenty five on this one.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
You like it. You know what I thought about today though,
because Jeff Schwartz said he did it, and I heard
there here Steve read the scores, I'm like, well, you
know what Jeff might be on the just bet against
the White Sox every day. Yeah, yeah, it's better against
the White So it's a smart bet.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
And just take the money that you win. Just bet
a little bit more, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 11 (28:48):
Just so that way you just it would be like
betting for Golden State a few years ago.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Right, yeah, right, they're on a seventy three and nine.
Speaker 11 (28:56):
He lines forget the points.
Speaker 7 (28:57):
You know it was free money earlier in the season. Yes, yes,
run first inning with the Rockies in the athletics.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
Oh because yeah, because the other team was going to score.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Yeah, exactly free money.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
If you guys know the name Scott Farrell. One of
the first radio shows I ever worked for.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Ye Scott Farrell.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
Yeah, yeah, back in serious Satellite.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
He always used to brag to me that his beach
house was purchased back in the eighties and nineties on
taking the Canes to cover because he was in Florida
at the time and he had no prom telling people that, hey, buddy,
I brought a beach house on the Canes covering.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (29:30):
Conversely, he lost that house in the mountains on a
different bet.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
That's my god, Scott Farrell, him and Loup Pello Greeno
shout out.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
First time I ever heard Scott Farrell was I was
sitting there as a board up in Detroit doing the overnights,
and I swear for about fifteen minutes, I thought something
was wrong with the boy, it was my first weekend,
and I'm like, I don't even know what's going on here.
All right. That's what as listener to our show is saying,
we don't even know what's going on here. Jordan Love
to a tongue of Io Lowell. Both of them walked
(30:01):
into the bank. The new men today said yeah, I
like it in cash, so now, but who's going to
cash in this season?
Speaker 1 (30:10):
This is what I did, Martin. I broke it down
to running back.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
I broke it down to receiver, tight end, O line,
defense and coaching, and I lined both names up and
I gave what each guy's working with. All right, so
we already know what Love and Tour can do. I
think both franchises did the right thing paying both these guys.
So that's even to me right now, I think those
two guys are even. I'm not gonna say two is better,
loves better. I think they're both even. They both can
get to the promised land. Lot has to happen football
(30:36):
as a team sports. So then I got a running back.
I give the edge to the Dolphins of the running
back position with moster and with a chain because of
their speed and their production on the opposite side, you
have Josh Jacobs's coming with love for the Packers. You
got Dylan Marshawn Lloyd, the rookie out of USC that
transferred from South Carolina. I called one of his high
school games for the Matha when they flew out here
(30:56):
to play John Bosco and dj O Youngalley and that
squad there.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
So I've been seeing this guy. I know, no, I'm
not gonna try that, but I've been seeing this kid
for a while.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
He's from the DMV. You know, Pop Warner, Like Marshawn
Lloyd's name has been around. He could be a big factor.
I just still give the average h chain average eight
yards a touch. Last year, guys like and and he
missed six games on IR because of an injury. So
I give that check mark to the Dolphins. So we
go to the receivers. I think this is easy, right.
You have Wattle, you have Hill. You have two of
(31:25):
the top five or six paid receivers in football, and
two of the top I believe ten to twelve through
it's the sixth. Okay, so two of the top six
paid receivers, but just the production. Wattle had the ankle
for like five weeks and still crack a thousand yards.
Romeo Dobbs, Jaden Reed, and Christian Watson. We're still waiting
to see. Martin likes reading.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
I like Reid too.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
Watson.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
I think people want him to be the guy, but
he didn't play enough big time competition in college. In
my opinion, coming from North Dakota State, that's kind of
starting to show he has trouble getting off press coverage,
and that's something you learn when you play with bigger,
better competition in college.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
So I gave that check mark to the Dolphins at the.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
Tight end position.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
I might lean more to the Packers on this, and
I gave them check mark there because they used their
tight ends more.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
Than the Dolphins do.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
We did bring in John new Smith and then you
have smikee there, but mus Grain and Craft both respectably
forty six and forty catches last year, So you got
eighty six catches between your two tight ends last year.
They used their tight ends purposely. Miami kind of uses
their tight ends as the version. And then when you
got to kind of sneak a play in when you
don't want to throw it to the speeded receivers or
you know, run a screenplay to the backside of the backfield.
(32:33):
Then you might try to work in I think John
new Smith will may get thirty five to forty catches.
I don't see him at clipsing anything harder than that.
So I gave the check mark there to the Packers
offensive line.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
I think it's even.
Speaker 1 (32:45):
I really do.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
I think it's even.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
Twenty nine sacks against to a last year thirty sacks
against love botti Ai was out, but they revamped the
offense line. The Dolphins have done the same, revamped their
offensive line. We can't see just yet today get on
the field. So I gave them even their defense. I
gave the check to the Dolphins ten defense last year,
seventeen defense for the Packers, and the turnover ratio was
the kind of deciding factor for me. The Packers only
(33:06):
had fifteen turnovers last year. The Dolphins had twenty five
of them. So I gave the edge there to the
Dolphins and coaching. I gave it even. I love Lafloor,
I really do. I love Lafloor.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
But they're from the same tree, right, They're from the
same They're from the Shanahan tree. Both guys kind of
have the same kind of mindset.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
Both guys got the same kind of styless too.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Yeah, actually they do it along with McVeigh and along
with Kyle.
Speaker 2 (33:32):
When you said they come from the same tree, my
first thought was, yes, they come from the tree of
coaches who always have their haircut. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (33:39):
The oh Man styled McVeigh too.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
Guys. Man, if you ask people that's sick, then Mike Shanahan,
you go back and look at some old video of
the Broncos back in the day.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
Mike Shannahan ain't never had no hair growing over his ears.
He always had a nice and lined up, had that
product going. So I gave it even there. So I
think Tua is more set up right now to go
further in the playoffs and and kind of get that
narrative off the back of not being to get a
playoff win, because Love doesn't have that. He already has
(34:10):
a playoff win. But now I think the pressure is
high on both of them. See too, and I have
to playoff win. But I don't think there's winning. I
don't think that a one. I don't think that the
Dolphins can get away with. Let's say they get a
wild card game this year at home, and they win
that one and then they go lose the division game,
don't I don't think that's enough for two in my Dolphins.
I think you gotta get to the AMC Championship game.
(34:31):
Reports are right right now, they're gonna rework Tyreek's deal.
This deal for two of freed up twenty six million
dollars in cap space for the Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
They're gonna work on Tyreek.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
They're going all in on the superstar players that make
the needle go and put the points on the board.
The Packers still have a young team, have some young
guys there, so they can work around bringing some other
guys in. You got all the money going to love,
but you're not really paying any big skill position. What's
the highest contract, friend of their skill guys, Josh Jacobs
(34:59):
contract right now. The rest of these guys are still
all on rookie deals at the receiver position.
Speaker 1 (35:03):
So I think the Dolphins have the experience.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
I think that narrative on their on their shoulder is
a little a lot heavier than the Packers because the
Packers got a playoff win last year, So it's not oh,
Ken they win in the playoffs, it's just, hey, how
are they even.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
Going to get out of that division. I think that's
gonna be with the Packers. In the AFC East is
the Dolphins of the Bills. I think it's the Dolphins
this year a twelve and five. I think the Bills
come in probably about ten and seven.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
So I but I think they're set up, the Dolphins
and Tour set up to be success successful faster than
love in the.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Packers coming up next.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
This AFC team has made a big time change in
their off time. Will it make a difference? Martin Wis
VJ Husky, Fox Sports Radio, Martin Wis VJ Huskie coming
to you live at the tirerack dot Com Studios on
a Fox Sports Sunday VJ. For the longest time in
New England, we was here. You know how strict it
(35:55):
was and how how everything was locked down on their
Bill Belichick Patriot way, the Patriot way. You took the
words without in my mouth. But apparently now new head
coach Rod Mayo from the Belichick tree, the only thing
he knows in his UNFL life is the New England
Patriots and Bill Belichick. He's added PlayStations into the locker room. Oh,
(36:19):
I just think, like, why is it like a bad
thing if you don't have PlayStations in your locker room.
I feel you on that. I don't know how I
feel about that, Like why do you need the PlayStations
in the you know what? It kind of reminds me of.
It kind of reminds me of like when you you
do your you at your corporate job or whatever, and
(36:40):
they want to give you like a quote unquote pad
on the backs you have a quarterly pizza party as
opposed to like a raise. Like that's what it feels like,
like PlayStations jacked, Like they're still at work.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
Right, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
It's like, ultimately you're gonna have If you're a gamer,
you're gonna.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
Play at home.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
Maybe you can sit there and play your coworker some downtime, right,
maybe in between practice and games or something like that.
But like, ultimately, this is like like a pizza party.
No I got, I got, I got something on this man.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
You know what this could be?
Speaker 2 (37:14):
What this could be like a this could be Remember
when your teacher would give you an assignment and it
was like a really easy homework assignment. You guys ever
get a really really easy home assignment when you turn
it back in the teacher openly tells you, I gave
this to you just to even see who would do it.
Like I knew it was an easy a sign. I
just wanted to see who would do it. Sure, maybe
(37:35):
this is who's good.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
Because if I'm a pro athlete, Martin, real talk, if
I'm in the NFL, bro, there's not one day I'm
sitting there playing that game. There's not one day no
teammking got me in, no teammate can lure me in.
I'll go watch some film. I'm good, I'll go back
out to the drug machine. I'll go sit in the jacuzzi.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
I'm this this fifty million dollar facility that we get
the kind of lounge in every day. I'm gonna go
use something to get better at what we're here for.
That would be cool if that was his reason for this,
because like you just like we just set it all.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
Up Patriot way right, Bill Belichick kind of Brady was
really the only guy that can have any fun. Like
I heard Wes Welker talk like tell stories on this
podcast about how he would just like point first down
and one time he got a flag and he goes,
Bill comes over.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
To him like uh huh, y got always making about you, huh,
because he got a flag for it, and he was like,
he said, you just there's just something that small. You
couldn't do this.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
I would. I don't think Jawar would veer that much.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
Well, this is interesting because I didn't consider this aspect
of it, he says. Gerard Mayo to Mike Reese of
ESPN said, one thing I've noticed over the past, let's
say the last five years, is a lot of times
when guys get a break, they just go to the
locker and get on their phone. They're scrolling through social media.
There's really no interaction. That's also a time when they
can build camaraderie. I get.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
I buy that. I want to. I want to it.
It sounds good. I want to.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
But you could also band phones or phone usage at
a certain hour or a certain block while you're in
the locker room.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
Yeah, but then you become even more draconian.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
Well, I mean that's what you But like I said,
this is weird. That is coming this far from what
Belichick was doing there, and he's been there from day one.
I believe drafted at the Tennessee. If I'm not mistaken,
I think he's that's the only team he's played for. Yeah,
it's it's it's right, so he's been that's all he knows.
Speaker 1 (39:31):
So to vere this far from it?
Speaker 3 (39:33):
Are you saying there wasn't no caraderie before, Coach Mayo?
Speaker 2 (39:37):
Is that we're where? Is this? Is this?
Speaker 3 (39:40):
Or was there no coaraderie before? Because you should have
corderie in the locker room. It shouldn't take PlayStations.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
And how about let's all get on our iPads or
our surface pros.
Speaker 1 (39:49):
And look at some film. How about that?
Speaker 3 (39:51):
How about let's go out to the jug machine again.
How about let's you know, I'm just I'm sorry, I'm
just I'm in coach guy.
Speaker 1 (39:58):
Who uh you know what?
Speaker 2 (39:59):
Everybody was ready Friday night to go out to the
party on campus video. I was like, I ain't even wait, guys,
the live race to the Laft.
Speaker 7 (40:07):
Isn't the whole thing with like patriots assistance failing elsewhere?
Is trying to replicate Belichick?
Speaker 2 (40:12):
True?
Speaker 7 (40:12):
So like I could see Mayo doing this as a
way to say, like, I'm not Bill Belichick.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
I get it, I get I just think it's so fun.
Speaker 2 (40:19):
I just the idea that it's like, oh you know,
it's gonna change the game for us PlayStation locker room.
There's other ways. I can't play a twenty five at work.
I don't know if I want to come in the
next day. Yeah, and also too, you want to think
that's a funny thought. Ping pong tables, pool tables, ice
hockey tables.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
Oh they did.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
Still you know those are their pool tables at billiards
and ping pong or table tennis as.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
They call it.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
Then you needed PlayStation. I'm with you, not not see now, Okay,
So now further away from it. Now if they if
you have these other okay, so camaraderie. You got pool tables,
you got ping pong, you got ice hide, you got
other things there PlayStations like I just don't feel didn't
we Ripkler Murray for playing too many hours of Call
of Duty?
Speaker 1 (41:04):
But see that's because he wasn't playing it at work.
Speaker 5 (41:07):
I bet you if they put some udo up there,
there will be a lot of camaderies.
Speaker 2 (41:11):
Speaking of the Patriot way, will this NFC contender be
able to replicate it?
Speaker 1 (41:15):
Martin and VJ.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
That's right, an NFC contender is trying to copy the
Brady style. We'll get to that in just a second,
as we come to you live from the ti rack
dot Com studios, tirack dot com. Well, if you get
there with the unmaxed election, fast free shipping, fruitise of
protection and over ten thousand recommend then this dollars tire
i rack dot com the way that tire buying should
(41:37):
be VJ Rock Party is probably going to be. Oh,
We'll see how this all works out for Brock Party
next year. But thus far, if in fact it keeps
on this trajectory of NFC championship game in year one,
super Bowl appearance in year two, on the path to
(42:00):
becoming the best quarterback of all time, if he's able
to continue this track, now I think that's highly unlikely. Eh,
but you know the future has yet to be written. Yea. Now,
this is what Brock Pardy had to say though about
this upcoming season. He said, with a team as good
(42:22):
as we have, I want to get to that point
where it's the third quarter, there's a couple of crucial
drives and I'm on top of my stuff. We convert
third downs, we score touchdowns, and the lead just get
out of hand. It's having that Tom Brady kind of
feeling late in the game. It always felt like Tom
was just gonna take over and not make it close.
(42:42):
I feel like I can get to that. Pardy would
want to say, I want to be dominant, not just
win games and feel like eh, I want to be
dominant and with consistent decisions and feel like we are
the top dogs every day. There were moments last year
in games where I would just say be up and
it be like, all right, be smart with the ball,
(43:02):
or let's make sure we don't mess up. I want
to break through that and get to the point of
just being dominant for four quarters. That's my mindset from
rock to rock. Thardy, I don't hate it. I don't
hate it. Kid wants to be great. Guy wants to
be great.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
Excuse me, man, I say kid because I'm twice as
as possibly it.
Speaker 2 (43:27):
Wants to be great.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
Wants to win a bunch of championships like mister Thomas
Brady did going to ten Super Bowls and cashing in
seven times. Got seven rings on him, fingers Listen, he's
got the weapons.
Speaker 2 (43:40):
You got who wants some of debo?
Speaker 1 (43:41):
All Right?
Speaker 3 (43:42):
You gotta see what's gonna happen with Brandon. You gotta
see him c You got Kiddle. Hell, you got an
all world left tackle, and Trent, you got an All
World defender, and Warner, you got Bosa, you got Shanahan,
They've got people, They've got guys, they got Joe's you
know what I'm saying, they ex' and those don't even matter.
Just throw these guys out there. You'll playing the dirt
and snapped the ball, and you know you productive things
(44:03):
will happen. Tom Brady, See where I don't dive all
the way in with this is just just you know,
just do you just just do you? We don't have
to see when you when you mentioned that. Now see
now Brady's names out there. See you thrown that name
out there. Now, So what you have to do is
now this. Do you know how many times Brady was
(44:24):
in the divisional round in the AMC Championship game, a
whole bunch in a row like it was very rarely
anybody can get them out of the wildcard. They were
never in the wildcard because they won the division straight exactly.
They never lost the division, so they never played in
a wildcard. Very rarely were you going up there? Remember
Tom Brady's quote when somebody I forget the player, but
(44:45):
talked about their crappy field, and he goes, yeah, that's fine,
but in January, you're gonna have to come up here
in the code, in this leate and slush and play
us on our crappy field. Like he had home field advantage.
He knew San Francisco is not a home field advantage.
There's not a weather implemented type stadium. We saw green
Bay going there, have a big lead, Detroit going there,
have a big lead. It's not it to me. It
(45:06):
doesn't feel like you. You had that home field adventage.
Brady had that working for him.
Speaker 2 (45:10):
They The longevity of how great the Patriots and Brady
were span over twenty years. Guys.
Speaker 3 (45:17):
So I would caution party, just brother, just do you.
I'm off to Brady the party hate train. And you
got to the super Bowl, kiddo. I'm gonna leave you
alone this year until you know something happens where I
can go poke back at you again. You got to
the Super Bowl. You have a lot of weapons. I
don't want to hear about that. Somebody still gotta throw
the ball. Somebody still got to make the read. Somebody
(45:38):
still has to run the team. Somebody a quarterback is
still has to be the leader of the football team.
So you can't discredit that. I just the whole It
has a.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
Brady feel to it.
Speaker 3 (45:48):
So what if you don't blow guys out, dums are dubs,
wins or wins, you know what I'm saying. Like Peyton
Manning was in a lot of fistfights in his playoff career,
and a lot of times they just needed him to
make the right throat Marvin Harrison or Reggie Wayne or
or Dallas Clark and hand and Egrin James like it.
Speaker 2 (46:05):
It takes a total Joseph and Died right. It takes
a total effort from everybody.
Speaker 3 (46:11):
You're right, you have a great team, you have all
the weapons, you have one of the best coaches in football,
one of the best offensive minds.
Speaker 1 (46:18):
Just be Brock Perdy. You're gonna get paid next year.
Speaker 3 (46:21):
You're gonna be up around fifty five to sixty million
if you guys go out and win another twelve thirteen
games this year.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
They got no choice put to pay you that.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
Type of money going into that fourth year of your
of your of your rookie deal.
Speaker 1 (46:33):
So I would take the names out of it. Martin.
Speaker 3 (46:36):
I'll just slide sideways if I can to Caleb. What
happened with Caleb is what bruh. People started throwing what
name with his pat mahomes And when you do that, curly,
you play it, I know, but that when he was
in college though, that was like the thing I'm talking
about the comparison part of it, right, just adding other
names to it. No, it don't got a Brady feel
to it because you're not Tom Brady. But guess what,
(46:59):
you don't have to be Tom Brady. You could just
be Brock Party and Martin's favorite line for quarterbacks. Do
what you're asked to do. You're in that situation. You
don't have to go win games. You have enough talent
around you to just do your job and you'll you'll
and you'll be fine. Brady Brady didn't have near the
weapons on offense. He had a Gronkle course, but Nayman
(47:20):
his receivers throughout his career. You didn't have near the
weapons that you have right now, Rock Party. You don't
have to be Tom Brady homie, just be Brock Party.
Speaker 2 (47:27):
The thing that interests me about it is, I think
if you asked Tom Brady and I don't have this
on good authority, besides just watching the man's career.
Speaker 1 (47:35):
Right soon you'll come across from over at FS one.
Speaker 2 (47:39):
That's another story for another day. I bet if you
asked Tom Brady, would you rather win by one or
win by fifty?
Speaker 1 (47:46):
He would say, I don't care, thank you.
Speaker 2 (47:48):
Right, Like I think that Tom Brady would be like, oh,
as long as I get the winds, doesn't matter. I
think Tom Brady, if you ask me, hey, Tom, would
you be all right if you averaged a sixty percent
completion percentage for the season, maybe thirty touchdowns in twenty
one interceptions. I'm just saying just thirty touchdown twenty one interceptions.
But you guys were undefeated, oh, I think and when
(48:12):
the super Bowl won the Super Bowl? Come on right, No,
that's what I'm saying. Come you know the twenty and
oh yeah right? Or nineteen and oh h no, twenty
and seventeens out? Yeah? Right? So you won every single game? Yeah,
I'm taking that. I think Tom Brady would say, sign
me up, who cares? I won the game? Right, I
won the game, and I'll probably be Super Bowl MVP regardless, right,
And I think that while while Brady, So that's the
(48:34):
first thing that was like, oh, you know that Tom
was going to take over and not make it close.
The special what made Tom Brady special are one of
the many things that made Tom Brady special was not
that he was going to take over a close game
and make it a blowout. It's that if you were
leading on the other side of it.
Speaker 1 (48:54):
Is that you never felt comfortable. Ever. That's what made
Tom Brady great.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
When you're out twenty eight to three, you're like, and
then and then you know, New England comes out of
the second half against two first downs in the row,
everybody on the sideline starts clenching up. Uh huh and.
Speaker 1 (49:09):
Said, oh no, they on a roll.
Speaker 2 (49:11):
Why you're still up twenty five?
Speaker 1 (49:12):
Oh you're still up twenty five.
Speaker 2 (49:13):
You're still up. And you watch victory or defeat rather
come from the right after the jaws of victory. Man.
And then not only that, it's the same concept of oh, well,
oh damn, it's a minute and thirteen seconds up on
the clock. Oh that's too much time. That's too much
time for time. They left too much time for time
(49:35):
on the board. Can't you see it now? Sunday Night
Football to Rico and Collins were sitting there. I don't know, Mike,
I think that's too much time for Brady.
Speaker 1 (49:45):
They ain't massed it up this time. Baltimore did it again, right.
So that so that's the first.
Speaker 2 (49:50):
Thing I think of when I think of what brock
Party was saying, Right, okay, cool, I get your energy.
But it's kind of you know, the facts don't make
it so because you know when Tom Brady send on
the bench in fourth quarter, goes will blowout. Nobody was
thinking like, ooh, dang, here it goes. It was just
he did it to us again. Secondly, how much of
this do you think is the idea that Brock knows
(50:15):
that he's about to be up for this big time deal. Right,
We've seen Jordan Love's deal get done to a tune
of a Lows deal get done. I mean with one
playoff win between the two of them, and it's only
nine good starts for Jordan Love. Right, brock Party, if again,
if he continues on this path, right, is gonna have
(50:38):
more accolades than half the quarterbacks in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (50:41):
Hell, just having played in.
Speaker 2 (50:42):
The super Bowl puts them on a short list right now,
just having played in one.
Speaker 1 (50:48):
I wonder if this is a little party saying.
Speaker 2 (50:51):
I gotta go out here and put up some really
good not not efficiency numbers, but counting numbers, yards, touchdowns
thrown those type of things, not police of percentage and
not you know, uh, you know, well look at his
QBR not that, but like real counting numbers to be
able to live up to the negotiating table when it
(51:11):
comes time for him to sit down.
Speaker 1 (51:13):
Monumental mistake if that's his mindset.
Speaker 2 (51:15):
I'm just so I feel you does it kind of
sound as such? Well?
Speaker 3 (51:19):
It not only that it feels like being that you
propositioned it to me that way. Now I'm kind of
feeling like I agree with that part of it. But also,
who is this?
Speaker 2 (51:30):
Who's this for? Is this for you?
Speaker 1 (51:31):
Are you?
Speaker 3 (51:32):
Are you not confident that you can win close games?
You feel like you have to come in and blow
people out? Because if that's the case, that's also a
monumental mistake mentality to have in a mindset as an
NFL quarterback. The fact that he openly is you know,
I don't want to. You know, last year, I didn't
want to make the mistake or I didn't want to.
I'm all for one for keeping certain things just to yourself.
(51:52):
It doesn't matter. You got to the super Bowl, and
if it wasn't for Chris Jones, you might have won
the damn game.
Speaker 2 (51:59):
Because he did.
Speaker 3 (52:00):
He's rupted every big play, the three big plays where
you guys could have scored, especially two where Deebo's running
wide open.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
But Chris Jones is wrecking.
Speaker 3 (52:09):
Shop up front and you don't got time to plant
that back foot and let it rip. And you were
right there and you and you're all and you're still
the current rock party. Now, if you're thinking you now
have to go out and put up all these.
Speaker 1 (52:23):
Numbers and these statistics.
Speaker 3 (52:25):
I would tell you turn off social media, turn off
the TV, and ready to get away from the noise,
whether it's your friends, your family, whatever, because that's what
it sounds like to me, because who cares. You got
to the super Bowl. That's that was the talk about
party is he got him to the super Bowl. I
thought he quiet most of his detractors last year by
getting them to the Super Bowl. They had the three
(52:47):
game loss streak in the middle of the season with
no debo there.
Speaker 2 (52:50):
I already talked about that attration Williams. Yeah, absolutely so.
But once you got those guys back.
Speaker 3 (52:56):
It was right back to roll and they had to
hiccup at home on Christmas night against the Ravens. But
we saw the Ravens couldn't put up more than fourteen
points in the AFC Championship game at home. So I
would once again just caution saying any of this just
go be you. But now I'm starting to feel like,
are you listening to the noise, because there's always gonna
be you know, people on TV and radio that want
(53:19):
to bring up these stats, a QBR and a rating
and this.
Speaker 1 (53:22):
I'm always the guy. Did they win?
Speaker 3 (53:25):
If they won, I don't care about I'm gonna be honest,
I don't care about none of that. Even if a
quarterback goes out and throws three picks, but then throws
three two, let's say two fourth quarter touchdowns and they
win the game, you're always gonna have somebody the next day.
That's all my Yeah, those three picks, you better clean
that up, a dug captain obvious, But did they win
the game. Now, you throw three picks and you lose,
(53:45):
we got a problem. You throw three picks and you
get the dub. Yeah, we see this at the podium.
We got a lot of stuff we gotta clean up.
You know, I played terrible today. I'll take that. It's
on me.
Speaker 1 (53:56):
D da da da da dada.
Speaker 3 (53:56):
Okay, cool, But at the end of the day, you
also walk away from the podium. No, there's an additional
number in the win column after today and not.
Speaker 2 (54:04):
The lost column. Also, I mean winning and losing has
not been brock Perty's problem. No, but what he has
seen in his limited NFL career, he has seen Nick
Bosa have to fight for his money. He's seen Deebo
Samuel have to fight for his money. He's watching Brandon
I you have to fight for his money right now.
(54:25):
I'm just I got you fail you. But he'll be
there next year because they ain't gona trade him. But
he ain't gonna sit out. He's got another He'll be
there this season. But yeah, I think this is last season.
You see the San Francisco forty nine ers are not
afraid to sit at the negotiating table and sit on
their hands. They will they will drag it out.
Speaker 1 (54:44):
I wonder how much I just think that.
Speaker 2 (54:48):
Looks. And in these stories, of all these camp quotes,
it feels like more something than nothing.
Speaker 1 (54:54):
It's all yeah, No, It's not a.
Speaker 2 (54:55):
Big not a super huge big deal, but it's one
of those things that if it, you know, if the
snowball continues to roll, we can see it and maybe
it'll come out in games this year for San Francisco.
Maybe not. Maybe Rock Party will be fantastic. But I
do know this, I think we could look at a
new full time head coach. Has a decision to make,
and it is the decision that nobody wants to make,
(55:16):
but he's gonna have to do it.
Speaker 1 (55:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (55:19):
You want to talk about between a rock and hard place.
That is where we find this NFL head coach. We'll
get to that coming up next right here. Martin and
VJ Fox Sports Radio. They say, if you're trying to
decide between one of these, you don't have one at all.
Coming to your live at the tyrack dot Com Studios,
Martin Weis's VJ Husky. You can hit us up on
Twitter at Martin Wis's VJ at Big Vanilla. Funny Ris
(55:43):
commenter for twenty says Tatum didn't play because Kadi was backing.
Speaker 1 (55:47):
For some reason.
Speaker 2 (55:48):
Kurt Wan's booker out there they need Tatum's size on defense.
Speaker 1 (55:54):
I tend to agree, especially to VJ.
Speaker 2 (55:59):
When you can.
Speaker 1 (56:01):
Okay, if all of these teams.
Speaker 2 (56:03):
Have been playing together for so long and so much chemistry, right,
the team USA probably won't be able to match the
chemistry aspect of these things right on the offensive side
of the ball, But I think that their supreme athleticism
should be able to disrupt things on the defensive side
of the ball. Then you're leaking out fast breaks, you know,
(56:25):
two for the price of one.
Speaker 1 (56:27):
Good to go.
Speaker 3 (56:28):
I want to read this tweet because it's just coming
off of what we're talking about. Pertie, somebody our guy.
The villain you need is when he's pissed with me
at Big Vanilla Funny FML. I'll let you guys figure
out what that means. Can't you just say that's a
great goal to have. Question Mark, He never said he
wanted to be capital b e him.
Speaker 1 (56:49):
He said, have that feel, all right, villain?
Speaker 3 (56:53):
Listen, man, if were you not listening, I didn't say
he said he wanted to bet him.
Speaker 2 (56:58):
He just got to beat him.
Speaker 3 (57:00):
And bringing tom Brady's name and having this tom Brady feel,
how the hell you got a tom Brady feel? He's
not close to Tom Brady see I tried to take
it easy on Brady. Now you're gonna make me flip
on them. You're not Tom Brady. You're not close to
Tom Brady.
Speaker 2 (57:16):
And to be honest with you, these teams aren't even
close to those Patriots, because you know those Patriot teas
were doing. They were winning super Bowls, okay, and they
want a bunch in a row before.
Speaker 3 (57:25):
They finally lost one. He got to one and lost
that one. Just be who you are, work with the
weapons you got. Don't do the comparison thing because now
you got guys like me.
Speaker 2 (57:35):
That's well.
Speaker 3 (57:35):
You said it had a Brady feel, So now you
gotta show me what the Brady result was.
Speaker 1 (57:39):
Cause if they got a Brady peel, the Brady.
Speaker 3 (57:41):
Peel means that they won super Bowls, they put rings
on their finger. I wouldn't say that about toa oh Man,
this offense has a RAMS ninety nine field. But you
know what Kurt Warner and isaaa ra Keem and Isaac
Bruce and those guys. You know what they did, Tory Holt,
you know what they did. They went and won a
Super Bowl. Marshall fall. So I would not go, Hey,
greatest show in the South or you know, fun and
(58:03):
running in the sun like the greatest Shaw. No, these
are the Dolphins. It's different. I just wouldn't just make
that comparison. It's all I meant.
Speaker 2 (58:10):
Villain.
Speaker 3 (58:10):
You know, I love you, Bro. We talk a lot,
but come on, Bro, don't don't make me turn on Party.
I just said I was gonna leave him alone. Guys
like you gonna make me turn on him, and I'm
gonna blame it all on you. It's gonna be your fault,
like Kobe told Spike Lee, MJ fifty five, your fault,
me tonight your fault. VJ talking bad about Party again.
Villain your fault.
Speaker 2 (58:31):
Can we talk about the Raiders quarterback first?
Speaker 1 (58:33):
I mean what I mean, I'll just just there's the controversy.
Speaker 2 (58:37):
Interesting, Antonio, they don't have one. If you wanted to
continue to fight back, Nah, I'm cool. Villain's my guy, man,
he listens to us every week. I love him, but
he's just wrong on this one guy, all right, Antonio peers.
He said this week that his signal callers quarterbacks ain't
No Connor and Gardner Vince Shoot need to do two things.
(58:58):
Stop with the baby steps and grab the bull by
the horns. Now here's the thing, BJ. You know this
better than I do it as a stand up comedian.
Speaker 1 (59:09):
But is it the rule of.
Speaker 2 (59:11):
Three something that we need to try to be practicing,
right if you're standing the community, the rule of three?
Like you don't say I went to the store to
get eggs and baking. I went to get eggs, bacon,
and milk right as you're telling your story. So it
would stop with the baby steps. That's one cliche. Grab
the bull by the horns, that's another cliche. Okay, here
you go.
Speaker 1 (59:31):
Where is the third cliche? He ran out of him?
Speaker 2 (59:36):
You know, I mean, how about this week? His this
his quarterbacks need to you know.
Speaker 1 (59:42):
Oh, do you know what? I didn't really.
Speaker 2 (59:45):
Hand up my bad ap. The full quote is this,
I told him it's time to make that leap. Stop
with the baby step.
Speaker 1 (59:53):
Somebody grabbed a horn, bull by the horns and be
the guy?
Speaker 2 (59:57):
All right? Okay, all right, better? Oh okay, I think
I don't know if be the guy counts all the way? Okay,
do you know what I'm saying? I would kind of
I might throw be the guy in there. Be the guy,
because that is something coaches do say.
Speaker 1 (01:00:09):
Because I think I think it has to be. I
guess b is you know what?
Speaker 2 (01:00:13):
Maybe he went.
Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
Four, he went four, Yeah, he went yeah, he went total.
But he started hisser with that though, So is that
what it is?
Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
No quarterbacks? Too many cliches. Yeah, too many cliches. Still
no quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
He started with cliches though, talking about n W A
raider starter jagged he started his He started his tenure
with that, you know, painting pictures and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (01:00:36):
I feel like picking between Aid and O'Connell and Gardner
Minshew to be your starting quarterback is like picking between
a skateboard and a bicycle for a cross country trip.
Oh my god, Oh hey, hey, garden Aden. I'm sorry
(01:00:56):
you guys are taking just these stray shots from mister
Weiss today. But he's got a point.
Speaker 3 (01:01:02):
That's why I looked at you like, no, I don't
want to keep arguing with villain. But this is on
the rundown find. We'll talk about it. But what's there
to talk about, Like just flip a coin both these guys.
I'd start Mintion, I'd start Minchal. I'd go with the Vet.
Just go with the vet. You're resetting. Aiden is not
your future right, So why why he's not your future?
Speaker 2 (01:01:21):
Let's get real, he's not your future. I got it, Yeah,
he's not your future.
Speaker 3 (01:01:24):
If I'm the Raiders, listen, I think they will be
halfway decent this year. And I don't like tanking. I'm
a competitive dude, man, I don't like tanking. But I
do believe that I would go with the vet and
just have your eyes on the quarterback in the top
ten picks, because you're gonna be in the top ten
picks possibly in the twenty twenty five draft. Just start
scouting the quarterbacks coming out of college. And this is
(01:01:46):
maybe just a build on some other things here. Listen,
Davonte could be gone. You could be resetting a few
things you already lost. Josh Jacobs. You did bring in
some big money guys on the defense end of the ball.
Christian Wilkins put him there with Crosby, which I don't
think is being talked about. A that's gonna be monstrous
up front for them. But I just I'd go with
Gardner Mitchew. You go with the veteran here, Aight, is
(01:02:07):
not the future.
Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
He's not an.
Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
NFL quarterback a starter. He may be a backup, somewhere,
but he's not. He's nobody's starter.
Speaker 1 (01:02:14):
I would do if I was the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
Oh you already told me.
Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
I'm gonna tell you to you again? Yeah, other fans,
I would pick up my phone. Who you calling?
Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
I'll call down there at the Old AT and T Stadium.
I know that got good service, got to right, they
got to who's that? Oh that Jerry got? I would
call Jerry Jones and say, Jerry, oh, you been good
to hear from you. I'm interested in making a trade.
Give me the number. What you'd like for Dak Prescott.
(01:02:45):
The only thing on the board that I don't have
that I won't give up Davante Adams and Max Crosby.
Speaker 1 (01:02:52):
Take Adams off that list. I'm not giving up Crosby.
Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
If I'm if I'm listen, if I'm traded for Dak
Press got if for damn sure, have some by throw
the ball? Well you listen, This will be the initial
call that'll be Those are the two off the board.
You name me what you'd like. Let's negotiate for a bit,
because I will have no problem paying Dak Press Gott
fifty seven to fifty eight million dollars a year, right, now,
(01:03:16):
and I bet he'd be happy to do it. Dallas
fans are gonna cuss me out on Twitter when they
hear me say what I'm.
Speaker 3 (01:03:22):
About to sah boy, how about Dak. Okay, we'll give
you whatever pigs Dak and we'll send you Davonte. But
we also want that receiver that's holding out, So you
get to replace the receiver and that receiver that's holding out.
The guy you're getting, he's already he already got a deal,
(01:03:43):
he's already under contract, he already got a deal. Right now,
go ahead, we'll pay Dak and we'll pay CD just
hypothetically get you gotta receiver holding out right now. Your
quarterback's going and possibly into a free agent.
Speaker 1 (01:03:56):
You guy. There's plenty of people that.
Speaker 3 (01:03:57):
Think, God, I forget, I always forget the guy's name.
Man to back up who came in and played well
for Dallas last year. That's important. That's that's how important
I believe backups. Yeah, there you go, Cooper Rush, take
you Cooper Rush. Nears will talk. Oh look what Cooper
Rush did when Dak was out? They were still winning it. Okay,
that's the part, like Hove said. I heard somebody said
they made hole made Hope said, okay, make another hole,
(01:04:20):
Like if you think this, you think this is the guy.
It's like the dating world, right, I'm not the dating world.
You know you're not either Mary dating world. The other
people to day were, hey, oh what you think this.
Speaker 1 (01:04:29):
Guy or girls beat?
Speaker 3 (01:04:30):
Okay, go ahead, go ahead, you think the grasses greener.
Speaker 1 (01:04:34):
Have at it. That's that.
Speaker 4 (01:04:36):
I am the dating room. But thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
Yeah, yeah, I know. But you're single. You don't have
a you know, husband or boyfriend anything, and you shouldn't
be young. Focused on your career and your life. You'll
be better off in the long run. But I would
throw all your business on blasts.
Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
Huh, I would throw I you know, I don't want
that on me.
Speaker 4 (01:04:49):
You know, some chilling.
Speaker 3 (01:04:51):
I don't want that on me. Who she got you
young kids now? She don't trust from Mary and not talk.
That's my little sister. That's like my little niece right there.
We talked off off the air.
Speaker 1 (01:05:00):
We talk. We still got our red Lops, So lunch
coming up too.
Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
We gotta do that.
Speaker 3 (01:05:03):
We gotta knocked out red Lops. You gotta get to
Steve the Saga's update too, So no problem, we'll go
ahead and jump there. Then all right, let's do it.
Steve the seger z'er up.
Speaker 11 (01:05:10):
What I just heard was we talk off the air?
Oh except for this lunch. We got to do this.
Hold on, you're just arranging this on the air after Okay,
as far as your swear talking foot, By the way,
I have an Olympic question for you in a couple
of minutes.
Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
But while we're.
Speaker 11 (01:05:26):
Talking football, a reminder, Thursday is August first already. So
Thursday we'll get us the Hall of Fame exhibition Texans
versus Bears, which is only a great thing because it
means the real thing is kind of around the corner. Yeah,
it's less too excited for Yeah, it'll less.
Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
Than the pain of the rent or mortgage that day,
as we'll watch at least some humans run.
Speaker 1 (01:05:46):
Into each other.
Speaker 11 (01:05:47):
Yeah, it is August first.
Speaker 2 (01:05:48):
We are you gonna watch? Are you gonna watch the game?
Speaker 11 (01:05:51):
I find it very difficult to watch four quarters of preseason.
Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
Foot Okay, about a quarter, quarter and a half.
Speaker 11 (01:05:56):
And in turn, I really want to see the Bears
play their quarterback. I hope he plays every preseason game.
But aside from that, it's very difficult four quarters of Precisi,
just like it's very difficult to watch Summer league basketball
or nine innings of spring training baseball. And I am
a fan of all of these sports, but that's not
the product. Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson missed a fourth straight
(01:06:20):
practice today with his stray calf. Patriots defensive tackle Christian
Barmore is out indefinitely due to blood claud's. Dallas defensive
ends Sam Williams suffered a torn acl and mcl Cowboys
defensive back garyan Conley says he's retiring. Bengals wide receiver
Jamar Chase did not practice for a fourth straight day.
To Major League Baseball, The Yankees lead is now seven
(01:06:42):
to at Boston in the top of the eighth inning.
San Francisco, when its fourth game in a row five
to four over Colorado. Matt Chapman three hits, two RBIs eraldis.
Chapman got the winning relief for Pittsburgh. They held on
in ten innings six ' five at Arizona, and the
Angels came back from six to nothing down early to
beat Oakland eight to six. The Padres had won seven
games in a row. At Baltimore beat San Diego eight six. Today,
(01:07:05):
Cleveland was a winner at Philadelphia four to three, the
loss to reliever Jose Alvarado, who's one and five. Tampa
Bay with two runs bottom of the eighth edge Cincinnati
two to one, and those two runs for the Rays
came on a wild pitch, on a strikeout, and on
a basis loaded walk. You see, the Rays had just
three hits today and three airs on defense and still
won the game. Atlanta and Minnesota each one on the road.
(01:07:28):
Seattle as well. The Mariners are tied four first with
Houston in the Al West. Houston lost at home to
the Dodgers six to two, and at Saint Louis, Paul
Goldschmid with a solo homer bottom of the ninth, giving
the Cardinals a four to three win over Washington. The
MLB trade deadline is Tuesday. The Cubs, who won today,
acquired third basement Esock Peades from Tampa Bay for third
baseman Christopher Morrell. US men's basketball won its Olympic opener
(01:07:51):
one ten eighty four over Serbia. Kevin Durant, off the
bench in seventeen minutes, had twenty three points. He finally
practiced with Team USA about a week ago after the
strain calf. US women's soccer was very impressive, beating Germany
four to one, Australia six ' five over Zambia. The
US plays Australia on Wednesday. Some owned biles posted the
(01:08:12):
top score today in the all round despite a calf injury.
The team final is Tuesday. In women swimming, the US
took gold and silver in the one hundred butterfly. My
question is every Olympics you hear that there are a
few athletes from US colleges competing in the games. Maybe
for the US, maybe for other countries, but there's always
a few per school competing in the Olympics. My question
(01:08:35):
for you, I want a number from each of you
from the Michigan Wolverines, for example, how many Wolverines are
in this year's Olympics in France.
Speaker 1 (01:08:45):
How many athletes?
Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
I saw this.
Speaker 11 (01:08:48):
You have to dis all right, he.
Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
Said, he saw it. I will say there are.
Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
Thirty nine University of Michigan alumni could be current athletes,
forty forty three.
Speaker 11 (01:09:06):
It is forty two.
Speaker 1 (01:09:08):
Wo yeah, I remember the four I did not see.
Speaker 11 (01:09:13):
Yes, nine different NCAA sports. The NCAA proudly trumpeted a
top five list. Turns out the Florida Gators have about
forty athletes, CAL has about forty at these games, Stanford
with over fifty, and USA has fifty eight athletes at
these Olympics in France in eight different NCAA sports, in fact,
(01:09:33):
Olympic history, in eight eleven different Olympics, USC's medal count
would have put itself in about the top ten of
competing as wow. Because USC over the years, if you
combine summer and winter appearances of athletes, over five hundred
USC Trojans have appeared in the Olympics over the decks.
Speaker 1 (01:09:56):
Over five hundred Trojans are Olympians.
Speaker 2 (01:09:59):
Yes, wow, yeah, I know. The favorite for the wrestling,
I believe is from Michigan. I wow, that's all. That's
expressive because they have track. The swimming is always good
out here, you know, Baseball is always good. Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:10:12):
All the so called Olympic sports that the PAC twelve
really really is good at over the years, volleyball, tennis,
all right, right right. In fact, now that PAC twelve
has kind of been folded into part of it into
the Big Ten, the Big Ten conference is number one
for these Olympics. Over three hundred athletes total are big
ten athletes at these games, not just for the US,
(01:10:33):
but for various countries.
Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
You hear that Southeast a conference. It just means more,
that's right.
Speaker 1 (01:10:39):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:10:40):
It means more than us, baby, that's right. Just thank
you very much, Steve de Seger. I tell you what
you want to talk about. A trivia guy, Steve de
Seger is the definition of it. Sit next to him
at bar trivia and be sure to win the prize.
Speaker 1 (01:10:54):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
Man, that's impressive though, that this meny you wow, five
hundred Olympians from USC that's man, hats off, hats freaking off.
I'd never guess that. I thought maybe, okay, eighty ninety, No,
five hundred.
Speaker 2 (01:11:10):
Five hundred. Geez. So I was thinking about this, VJ.
I don't I forget. Have you been watching Giants Hard
Knocks or No?
Speaker 1 (01:11:18):
Not yet?
Speaker 2 (01:11:19):
No, this just so much going on. I haven't gotten
back to it yet, man, I just I haven't haven't
gotten to it. You know, you got the opening round
of the steeple chase on.
Speaker 3 (01:11:27):
I feel just now we're sitting here doing a commercial break,
wondering when it ends because it's this huge. They running
through the woods around alongside lakes jumping over trees.
Speaker 1 (01:11:37):
I'm like, Okay, where's the end to this? Hraise?
Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
But I was thinking about this because this is a
first in NFL history that we are actively seeing the negotiation,
not reading about it after the fact. No no, no, no,
no no. There's a hidden camera up in the corner
of Joe Shane's office and we're watching his side of
the negotiations with Sakwon Barkley and his agent. This on
(01:12:01):
the heels of this is gonna be thinking because earlier
this weekend, Jalen Hurts was quoted saying.
Speaker 1 (01:12:06):
Real fast, what's the song?
Speaker 3 (01:12:07):
Because now you're gonna make me go on and watch
at least trying to get two or three episodes, And
tonight is it on?
Speaker 1 (01:12:11):
Max's on Max? Okay, I got you. I'll get in
till tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:12:13):
Which is the second worst rebrand that we've seen recently.
Twitter to X still take the goals on Miss HBO,
Miss HBO. It's HBO to me anyway. Hey, Jalen Hurts
said that, uh, he's eager to see the role that
he'll play for the Eagles. That's on Sakwon Barkley. He's
excited to be here.
Speaker 1 (01:12:32):
And to be in this division.
Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
Duh, I know, but I mean, you know what, l
I would like to play a giant swice a year too,
you know, go ahead and sign me up two and
oh now, But I just thought it was fascinating because
to think about it, Sekwon Barkley is really the first
guy we've seen this negotiation period and we all know
how it ends, right, because it was kind of going
back in time, whereas hard knocks and other iterations of
(01:12:58):
it is more in real time a few days after
this is obviously months ago, right, But this is the
first time that we've watched the team side of a
negotiation so blindly and so openly, so nakedly. Right. So
when I hear these bulletin board things coming out of Philadelphia.
Speaker 1 (01:13:19):
I buy it a lot. It's not just you know
what I'm saying. I buy it a ton.
Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
Like you know, we here Paul George and we said,
you know, you're talking about how we felt disrespected going
to Fron the Clippers and they're negotiating that before after
he felt like he was on the B team. But okay,
but that was that was but you know, he was
saying he felt disrespected. No, no, no, no, no, we
saw get disrespected. We all saw it. It's like the
(01:13:46):
difference between hearing about somebody getting punched in the face
and practice and actually seeing somebody get punched in the
face and practice.
Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
Right, right, Martin, didn't I tell you? Okay, now that
you see the look on my face, now I'm gonna go.
I'm gonna make sure how many episodes.
Speaker 1 (01:14:03):
Are like five?
Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
Four to.
Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
Alright, like forty minutes. I could probably knock this. I
can knock it out tonight. But remember when you were
bringing this to me. I guess when you first started watching.
He completed maybe like three weeks, so probably about a
month ago. I remember, I didn't like this idea, I
said you, I can't. I'm good. Remember, I'm good with
preseason curtain pullback. I'm good with middle of the season
(01:14:26):
curtain pullback. I'm not good with after the Super Bowl draft.
I'm not good with that curtain pullback because I don't
think it's I don't think it's productive. I don't think
anything good can come out of showing all of that.
Now you see this quote today, you know where this
is going. You know what Jalen Hurts is doing.
Speaker 2 (01:14:47):
You know what Jay you know why, because I guarantee
you say Kwan, you don't think a homie if he
didn't watch it.
Speaker 1 (01:14:53):
Trust me, he knows about it. He knows about he
didn't have to watch it. He got homies, he got friends,
he got family.
Speaker 2 (01:15:00):
What I'm saying, little honey dip.
Speaker 3 (01:15:01):
Somebody was like, hey, have you seen what they were
saying on Hard Knocks when they were talking about your
contract and your negotiations of what you would mean to
the team, Like you need to give that guy any
extra motivation. That is gonna see you twice a year
now in the division, and one of those times he's
gonna head back in to MetLife Stadium to face you
(01:15:22):
on a Sunday, Sunday night or Monday night are possibly
a Thursday. I haven't looked at the schedule to see
where that maximumps are. But this is why Martin, this
is not smart to me. Yeah you look cool, Yeah
we see it.
Speaker 1 (01:15:33):
Yeah you can.
Speaker 2 (01:15:34):
Hey, I don't want to give him this, and I
don't want to give him that. You can show your
first office ego and you can stroke yourself.
Speaker 1 (01:15:40):
But like Pat Mahomes tried to tell the.
Speaker 3 (01:15:43):
Raiders, we'll handle that when it's time, which means at
the end of the day, guess who don't have to
put no pads on Martin. Guess who don't have to
buckle a chin strap and strap on no shoulder pads. Martin,
the guy that's in those offices talking that noise. Yeah,
but you know, players gotta pay for this in a second.
But you know what he does have to do. He
has to answer to John Marra who said, I'm excited
(01:16:06):
to watch it tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:16:07):
I really hope that say Kawon Barkley does not become
a Philadelphia Eagle. And I was just sitting there, like.
Speaker 3 (01:16:14):
He says that you gotta watch it before before you
just spoiled it. Well, I mean so now I might
as well just ask, well, you might.
Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
As well watch it too. No he did, you know,
John Marray did say it would really hurt before he
signed with Philly Man. Okay, this is what see this
is you don't want it just in my add as.
Speaker 1 (01:16:33):
A front office, you don't want that out.
Speaker 2 (01:16:35):
Nobody wants it out if you're in the front office,
the same way that the teams don't want the preseason
hard knocks or the end season hard knocks. But you
know what it is good for It's just TNT is
about to lose the NBA anyway. I'll go ahead and
steal the slogan NFL we know drama and that's exactly
what it is. Drama coming up next. No coach went
(01:16:57):
all in this off season like this coach did. An
early return seemed that it might be paying off.
Speaker 1 (01:17:04):
Martin Wiss VJ Husky Fox Sports Radio, Martin.
Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
Wise VJA Husky coming to your live from the tire
Rack dot Com studio. Lets. You can hit us with
your two cents on Twitter. I'm at Martin Wise VJ
at the Big Vanilla Funny.
Speaker 3 (01:17:17):
Yes, sir, let's say we got any tweets? Imorr there
you got something? Oh no, no, you're right. I'm sorry.
You want to talk about this?
Speaker 1 (01:17:23):
Yeah? Go there. Oh, because here's the thing.
Speaker 2 (01:17:28):
When Sean Payton drafted bow Knicks with the twelfth pick
in the draft, it was a six quarterback off the board.
I like many others, it was like, are we losing
our way? Yeah, there hasn't even been a defender drafted yet.
Speaker 1 (01:17:43):
We've had six quarterbacks who off the board.
Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
You need them right now, I know that. But just
because you need something doesn't mean you have to reach
for it, right. You may not have the money to
buy that car even though you need.
Speaker 1 (01:17:57):
To get around, So put your black ass on the bus.
Credit exactly, Credit exactly, that's what credit's for.
Speaker 2 (01:18:03):
And then you end up and you wonder why all
of a sudden they won't let you rent an apartment anywhere?
Speaker 1 (01:18:12):
Hey, can I parking your driveway? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
All of that. I thought that's where Sean Payton was
gonna be, trying to park at somebody else's driveway as
the repo man came for bow Knicks. But all reports
out of Denver are that not only is bow Knicks
fighting to be the number one quarterback in this class,
in this in this room, he's bawling out. He looks great.
(01:18:37):
Now it's early returns. But if this works for Sean Payton,
that was a super big bet going all in at
that moment in time, because what was it, you know
what it was? Eighty five million dollar bet. Yeah, because
Russell Wilson's dead cap. It was eighty five million dollars
to go somewhere else and play man. If he hits
(01:19:00):
this one man, whoa there be some people that need
to apologize to Seowan.
Speaker 3 (01:19:06):
No, well, listen, remember when this happened. I came when
we came back on air after the drift.
Speaker 1 (01:19:10):
I love this pick.
Speaker 3 (01:19:12):
I did, but it's also this was their choice they
had to make. Now they tried. The reports came out
they tried to move ahead of Minnesota, which means this
might not have been there guy, because there was nobody
on planet Earth who thought Minnesota was taking Bow nixt
it all was pointing to JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 1 (01:19:29):
He'd worked out for them multiple times, he'd met with them.
Speaker 3 (01:19:32):
The word was, they want to move up, and they
want to gain extra assets to still be able to
make another top twenty pick, which they did. Dallas the
Russian out of Alabama, who's going to be a stud Yeah,
Dallas Turner like Will Allen, like Will Anderson. Excuse me
for the Texans. So they did their job. We knew
they was going for Jja.
Speaker 2 (01:19:53):
I don't want to say you had to settle for
Bow because I believe he didn't work. You're not getting Caleb,
you weren't getting Daniels get in May.
Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
I think Pinnix might have been an option because Atlanta
threw the monkey rich in the first ten picks, and
they were the first whoa pick.
Speaker 3 (01:20:10):
They made everybody go either huh or okay, let me
see what they're doing here, or oh that's horrible. Either way,
that was the pick that kind of really shook things up.
But we knew JJ was slided to go, and we
learned that Minnesota actually had to move up a spot
to try to get keep the Raiders and the Broncos
from moving.
Speaker 1 (01:20:30):
Ahead of them.
Speaker 2 (01:20:30):
So I think he probably had his two guys. Was
either gonna be JJ.
Speaker 3 (01:20:35):
It could have been Panic excuse me, Pinnis or Nicks
and NICKX is the guy that fell to him. But
I told you I like the tape. I really do.
I like the tape when you put the tape on.
He's got experience. We have to stop this narrative. Just
because someone doesn't have a lot of years or you know,
or has a lot of years, that's a bad thing,
Like that's a bad old way. He was in college
(01:20:55):
for five years. Yeah, I mean he's played a lot
of football. You know, it's better than drafted a kid.
Anthony Richardson at what eleven ten starts something like I'm
taking a guy.
Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
Wait if it is flat out better, well, guess what
the time will tell is their experience in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (01:21:09):
Which one did work?
Speaker 2 (01:21:11):
Coming up next to our guys, Vj's been excited about
this all day all do not miss this which first.
Speaker 1 (01:21:18):
Year single caller will answer the bell.
Speaker 2 (01:21:20):
We'll get to that, and just coming up in just
a little bit right now, Martin White's VJ. Hussey broadcasting
live from the tire rack dot Com studios.
Speaker 1 (01:21:27):

freeridis of protection over ten thousand recommend that this dollars

Sport or Not, in which he acquitted himself quite well,
(01:21:52):
going six and three of the nine answers and beating
everybody else in the field. Mary Mac, I'm looking at
you a chance, because VJ. Husky today has decided it's
time for what he would like to call.
Speaker 1 (01:22:07):
Big Husky Trivia.
Speaker 3 (01:22:10):
Yes, sir, let's go baby, All right, this is trivia.
Speaker 2 (01:22:14):

Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
All right, So in the two thousand and eight Beijing
Summer Olympic Games, Michael Phelps won how many gold medals?
Speaker 2 (01:22:43):
Was it A four, B, six, C eight or D twelve?
Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
Mary mac our engineer will start with you first love, ladies,
first love, Oh.
Speaker 5 (01:22:55):
My gosh, okay, wait, can you name one more time?
Speaker 8 (01:23:01):
Four?
Speaker 2 (01:23:02):
Uh huh, six huh, eight or twelve?
Speaker 4 (01:23:06):
I'm gonna go eight.
Speaker 3 (01:23:08):
All right over to am I soon to be golfing
partner in what you got for your buddy.
Speaker 1 (01:23:14):
I'm gonna go twelve, okay.
Speaker 3 (01:23:17):
And my host here and we'll be filling in a
bunch more sows coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:23:21):
Next few weeks.
Speaker 2 (01:23:22):
Martine will go with a dozen twelve. You will go
with twelve. Mayor you said how many? You said eight?
Speaker 4 (01:23:29):
I said eight, and Ian you had twelve.
Speaker 3 (01:23:33):
Mary Mack with the first point, it is eight gold medal.
Speaker 4 (01:23:37):
Talk to me nice, thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:23:38):
It is eight gold medals from Michael Felps in two
thousand and a.
Speaker 2 (01:23:43):
Okay, so let's jump into a little hockey here, guys.
How many Heart Memorial trophies does Wayne Gretzky one in
the most of any NHL player?
Speaker 3 (01:23:52):
Is it six heart trophies? Is it nine heart trophies?
Ten heart trophies? Are fifteen heart trophies? I started my
co host all the time here to my right, Martine
Weiss's ten?
Speaker 1 (01:24:06):
Why not.
Speaker 3 (01:24:08):
My soon to be golf partner, and I'll go fifteen
and our great engineered miss Mary.
Speaker 4 (01:24:15):
Matt I'm gonna go with fifteen.
Speaker 3 (01:24:18):
All of you guys are wrong on this one. It
was nine heart trophies from Wayne, so nobody for that.
Speaker 1 (01:24:27):
It's like the MVP fifteen.
Speaker 4 (01:24:29):
Is pretty absurd.
Speaker 1 (01:24:30):
It's not change my guess.
Speaker 2 (01:24:32):
Look, fifteen of any award guys, like, you know, maybe
all star appearances, but being petty with the nine and the
ten there, Yeah, no, no, not at all. Baby.
Speaker 1 (01:24:40):
Okay, I love this one right here.
Speaker 3 (01:24:42):
Who holds the NFL record for the most interceptions return
for touchdown by a defender?
Speaker 1 (01:24:49):
Is it A Richard Sherman? Is it b mister Rod Woodson?
Speaker 2 (01:24:53):
Is it c?
Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
Coach Prime, Deone Sanders or is it d the greatest
hard hitting safety in life, Ronnie Lots.
Speaker 1 (01:25:00):
We'll start with.
Speaker 2 (01:25:01):
You first on this one.
Speaker 3 (01:25:02):
In what you got Buddy, Richard Sherman, rod Woodson coach Prime.
Speaker 2 (01:25:06):
Ronnie Lott.
Speaker 9 (01:25:07):
I'm gonna guess rod Woodson, Miss Mary Mack, I feel
like Richard my Man Martin.
Speaker 2 (01:25:13):
I'm also going with rod Woodson. I feel like I
looked this up one day.
Speaker 1 (01:25:17):
It is mister rod Woodson.
Speaker 8 (01:25:19):
Dean.
Speaker 3 (01:25:20):
That is a point for Ian and a point for Martin.
Everybody has one point so far. Moving on to the
next question. This because Martin and I were just talking
about this a minute. God, I saw this question and
I wrote it down. Here we go. Which rugby term
describes a play when both teams not together and try
to push the other off the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:25:40):
Is that called rucking? I don't even need it.
Speaker 3 (01:25:43):
Is that called a huddle? Is that called rutting? Or
is that called the scrum? My co host to my ride,
Martin Ways, that's a scrum, Miss Mary Mack, I'm going
with scrum Ian.
Speaker 2 (01:25:57):
Yeah. Oh, point for all three of you guys, right there,
let's go. Everybody's got a point. Mary Mack has two points.
Speaker 1 (01:26:06):
Marti Ian both also have two points.
Speaker 3 (01:26:08):
They're tied all the way across the board going into
the next question.
Speaker 2 (01:26:11):
Right here, Ah Martin, this is for you. Which team
won MLB's first Modern World Series in nineteen oh three.
Was it the Philadelphia A's, was it the New York Giants?
Was it the Pittsburgh Pirates or was it the Boston Americans?
Speaker 1 (01:26:26):
Ian Europe First, Buddy.
Speaker 9 (01:26:29):
I'm I'm gonna go with the Pirates just because they're
so bad now it would be a.
Speaker 2 (01:26:35):
Right one hundred and twenty one years ago. There you go,
Miss Mary Mack.
Speaker 5 (01:26:41):
I'm not gonna I didn't even hear the questions. I'm
just going with Pirates.
Speaker 2 (01:26:45):
That counts.
Speaker 1 (01:26:45):
Hey, yeah, I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:26:46):
I don't even know the question, my fellow mlbbro dot
com partner, right here to a right, the Yankees are
not on the list.
Speaker 1 (01:26:53):
The Yankees are not on the list.
Speaker 3 (01:26:54):
Philadelphia A's, New York Giants, Philadelphia Pittsburgh Pirates are the
Boston Americans.
Speaker 1 (01:26:59):
I'll go with the American name. You better had it.
Got that one?
Speaker 3 (01:27:03):
You cover and right for baseball, Martin's up three to
two on both of you guys, he's got three correct
and you got to Mary, you got too.
Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
Oh, this is oh, this is a good one. This
is a good one. Which player did not average twenty
buckets and twenty boards per game and their college career
did not do it?
Speaker 3 (01:27:24):
Bill Russell, Kermit Washington, Julius Irving, or Wilt the Stilt
Chamberlain who did not average twenty points and twenty boards
in their college career. My partner to the right, Martin
White Shore up first.
Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
Kermit Washington is the name that stands out, so he
definitely did it right right, didn't know how most trivia works,
Like that's the name that is like it is what
he definitely did it.
Speaker 1 (01:27:51):
I will go where did Bill Russell go to San Francisco?
Speaker 2 (01:27:56):
Yep?
Speaker 1 (01:27:56):
What to San Francisco? Julis everyone to you man the
u as minute men?
Speaker 2 (01:28:02):
Yep? And Wilt went to Kansas and Wilt went to
Kansas Rock Talk Jay Hawk. I'll go with doctor J.
Twenty boards for doctor J. Feels hard, Miss Mary.
Speaker 3 (01:28:11):
Matt Te name it one more time, Bill Russell, Kermer Washington,
Wilt the Still Chamberlain, or Julius the Doctor Irvin.
Speaker 4 (01:28:22):
Go with the second one.
Speaker 1 (01:28:23):
You're gonna go with Kerment Washington.
Speaker 9 (01:28:25):
Yeah, okay, Eon, I think I'm gonna agree with Martin
and go with doctor j Surprisingly.
Speaker 2 (01:28:31):
You guys are all wrong. It was Wilt Chamberlain.
Speaker 1 (01:28:34):
I wanted to go it was such a trick because
it's a trick.
Speaker 2 (01:28:37):
It's a trick.
Speaker 1 (01:28:38):
Question.
Speaker 2 (01:28:38):
He did not average twenty and twenty in his career.
I was surprised to learn that Julius Irving averaged twenty
and twenty in his career in college.
Speaker 3 (01:28:50):
Amazing. All right, this is a little fun one right here.
For as animated fans, what does Homer call the bat?
Made it a tree struck by lightning? In the Simpsons
episode Homer at Bat? Did he name the bat lightning?
Did he name it Little Slugger two? Or did he
name it wonder Bat? Mary Eurerope.
Speaker 9 (01:29:07):
First, I feel like it's wonder Bat. Ian, I'll go
a Little Slugger two and.
Speaker 2 (01:29:12):
Martine give me the first one, just light experience. I
have no idea, I have no idea.
Speaker 1 (01:29:19):
Ian.
Speaker 9 (01:29:19):
What'd you say, uh, little Slugger? Is that it was
and married wonder bat? The name for Mary it was
wonder back.
Speaker 3 (01:29:26):
That's three for Mary, three for Martin, two for Ian
and This is for either a three way tie or
to break the.
Speaker 1 (01:29:32):
Tie between Martin and Mary.
Speaker 3 (01:29:35):
Who was the first African American woman to compete for
the Olympics swimming finals for the United States.
Speaker 1 (01:29:42):
Was it Natalie Hines?
Speaker 2 (01:29:44):
Was it Leea and Neil? Was it Simone Mayol?
Speaker 3 (01:29:47):
Or was it Maritza Korea, the first African American woman
to compete in the Olympics swimming finals for the United States?
Speaker 2 (01:29:58):
Am I up, eure up.
Speaker 1 (01:30:00):
I'm gonna go with Simone?
Speaker 2 (01:30:02):
Mary, Matt, I feel like Leah.
Speaker 4 (01:30:04):
I don't know what I feel like.
Speaker 2 (01:30:05):
It's her Lea? Neil, Yeah, Martine, I also I am
going with Simone. All of you guys are wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:30:12):
It was miss Maritza Correa, the first African American woman.
So absolutely so. With a two way tie in, you're out.
Martin and Mary are tied at three. So I gotta
grab a tiebreaker right here really quick.
Speaker 5 (01:30:26):
As to see who goes first.
Speaker 1 (01:30:29):
No, this was just the time breaker to see who wins, no,
I know.
Speaker 4 (01:30:31):
But to see who answers first.
Speaker 1 (01:30:33):
What we do is no multiple choice. That's the key.
Speaker 3 (01:30:36):
That's normal for the tiebreaker. Okay, it's not fair. Are
you not agreeing with no multiple choice, Mary for the
time breaker.
Speaker 4 (01:30:42):
You guys know, I don't know sports like that. You
know what, whatever, let's do it whatever, All.
Speaker 2 (01:30:47):
Right, I got Okay, So I got an easy one here.
I picked.
Speaker 3 (01:30:51):
I actually had a baseball question, and being that there's
not multiple choice, I'm not going to answer ask that because.
Speaker 1 (01:30:55):
Martin will get you yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:30:57):
Yeah, no, no, no, that's not fair at all. So
I won't go with a baseball quest. I will go
with a ah, here we go, a good old football question.
Which team was the first to enter the playoffs as
a wildcard team and make it all.
Speaker 2 (01:31:11):
The way to the Super Bowl? Was it the Philadelphia Eagles?
Was it the Atlantic Falcons? Was it the San Francisco
forty nine ers, or was it the then now Vegas
but then Oakland Raiders entered as a wild card first
time ever to go all the way to a super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (01:31:31):
It's a good question.
Speaker 2 (01:31:32):
It's a great question.
Speaker 1 (01:31:33):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:31:33):
I think I know the answer. I know, Mary, I
know what I got when the last time I was asking,
I know what I said that was wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:31:40):
I thought I thought it was the New York Giants.
That was incorrect.
Speaker 2 (01:31:43):
They're not even all yet, They're not part of the
four this episode I answered the last time I was
asking this question.
Speaker 1 (01:31:48):
So I think I got the right one now, right, Mary.
Speaker 4 (01:31:53):
I'm gonna go with the Falcons on this one.
Speaker 1 (01:31:55):
You're going with the Falcons on this one?
Speaker 2 (01:31:57):
Is this the Oakland Raiders my partner with to come
back your style, I'll let you is the Oakland Raiders?
Speaker 1 (01:32:08):
Rich Ganning in that squad. I believe it was that.
Speaker 2 (01:32:10):
I know, I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (01:32:13):
It was part of that. I'm sorry it was part
of that. The rich gains.
Speaker 3 (01:32:15):
They were the number one. They were no more seen
than the AMC. So Tom Flora is to cook.
Speaker 1 (01:32:19):
It was it was them. It was back in the U.
Speaker 3 (01:32:21):
Was that that would have been eighty early eighties or
late seventies. But Martin with four in with two married
with three, great job guys on that.
Speaker 5 (01:32:28):
I think this gusta So I'm actually kind of good
at that.
Speaker 1 (01:32:32):
I try to it's easy with multiple choice.
Speaker 3 (01:32:34):
My my dad would check my homework sometimes, really my
step pops Glenn would look at my homework and he
would pluck me for the wrong answers I got in
multiple choice because he and it wasn't like a bit,
it was just like, come on, boy, like the answers
right in front of you, So just eliminate the ones
that you know it's not it.
Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
And normally in.
Speaker 3 (01:32:53):
Multiple choice two or way off and you're left between
just two answers. So multiple choice, but anyway man first,
And it's not Husky trivia, it's big Vanilla trivia Martin.
Nothing like saying big Vanilla. That's fine. I'll say it's
my brand. It's my brand. I ain't got no problem
with him not wanting to say it Christmas. Sorry, does
that to me?
Speaker 2 (01:33:11):
Tell me?
Speaker 3 (01:33:11):
I'm not about to call another man VANAO. I didn't
ask you to call me vanilla. This is for Brandon
and the honey Dicks. Y'all could call me VJ.
Speaker 2 (01:33:20):
All right, VJ, speaking of multiple choice, all right, hitmy.
If you took a plane to Pleasantville a bus to Bulgaria,
Oh god, right. If you took a plane to Pleasantville
and you took a bus to Bulgaria, would you take
a taxi too.
Speaker 1 (01:33:39):
A Tijuana or B Tampa.
Speaker 2 (01:33:43):
I can repeat the question if you'd like one. We're talking.
If you took a plane to Pleasantville, you took a
bus to Bulgaria, would you take a taxi to a
Tijuana or b Tampa.
Speaker 1 (01:34:01):
First of all, you can't take a bus the Bulgaria.
Speaker 4 (01:34:05):
Don't get analytical.
Speaker 1 (01:34:07):
Well it's not ok So if you were, if you
weren't hungry, you can go to the bus and get
the Bulgaria.
Speaker 3 (01:34:12):
Yeah I know, but I'm just thinking. We're in Los Angeles,
so I can't. You can't take a bus there, all right,
So I would kind of feel like I'm gonna feel
stupid after this.
Speaker 1 (01:34:20):
But I'll take a taxi. I'll take what's the Tampa?
How do I get the Tampa?
Speaker 2 (01:34:24):
A taxi to either tie either Tijuana, Tiouana or Tampa.
Speaker 3 (01:34:30):
God, all right, I'll take. You can't get across the
border in a taxi, so I'll take I'll take the
taxi cab to Tampa.
Speaker 2 (01:34:39):
You know, sometimes it doesn't matter how you've arrived there,
as long as you get the right answer.
Speaker 1 (01:34:45):
That was right. Yes.
Speaker 2 (01:34:49):
Well, Mary's like, don't be literal, and I'm like, well,
I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:34:52):
Okay, so is this a joke question or something? But literally,
I take the I would take the taxi to Tampa.
Speaker 2 (01:34:58):
It is what they call inside base. I'll show you
what we'll talk about just a minute, okay, all right,

Speaker 1 (01:36:19):
My guy man, he's a trivia maniac.
Speaker 2 (01:36:21):
He's got a he's got a riddle. Okay, a man
in a summer driving. They got into an accident and
the father was killed. They rushed the son to the er.
Er doctor walked into the room and said, I can't
operate him on him. He's my son. How is that possible?
Speaker 1 (01:36:36):
Vernon the surgeon is his mother?
Speaker 2 (01:36:38):
Exactly? Bam uh Cosby show season four, Thel had the
whole family with that one. Nice try, mister Sands, But
you're talking to an eighties baby here, baby, I'm two
for two right now.
Speaker 4 (01:36:51):
I feel like the rand eighties eighties BC.
Speaker 1 (01:36:54):
Right, oh yeah whatever, I rolled out of the way,
I rolled out of away.
Speaker 2 (01:37:02):
You missed. You're right, sup? At Superstar Dad. This is

Speaker 2 (01:37:13):
Of the hour. You're trying to sneak them in on
me today. I love it. Keep me on my toes.
Speaker 1 (01:37:19):
O G A one ce.
Speaker 2 (01:37:22):
I wonder if this oh G A one ce tweet
us back and tell me is your name and reference
to like the A one c that they advertised, like
you know, take Jaradian's or whatever to lower your A
one C.
Speaker 1 (01:37:34):
One Oh I don't, I have no idea.
Speaker 2 (01:37:36):
Yeah, that's why I'm but he said he's surprised that
Lebron hasn't shaved his head like MJ the ball Spot.
Speaker 1 (01:37:42):
With all that great looks weird.
Speaker 2 (01:37:43):
I tell you what's one of the funniest things Lebron
Jams ever unintentionally did was be balding by as early
as he was in his life, which was shockingly early.
Speaker 3 (01:37:54):
Remember when he shaved it though, like, oh I'm going
bald and he did the video rubbing his head and stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:37:58):
Yeah. Anyway, No, IM just saying, like the guy Bron
is less than forty years old, right, you know, I'm
you should have a full head of hair. ARTIM say should,
but it wouldn't be shocking if you had a full
head of hair at this age, right, but he started
going bald, like what twenty seven, that head band was
going further further, further back, right and then and then
(01:38:18):
now it stopped going back so far. They got bigger
and bigger and bigger. Yep, the head band, yes, until
now it got to a point where Drew Holliday and
then we're wearing those like basically like they remind me
of things that like karate people, karate fighters where the
karate bandana wide in the front and tied.
Speaker 1 (01:38:36):
Daniel Russo joint, Yeah, yeah, exactly, the karate kid joint.
Speaker 2 (01:38:40):
But Lebron James naming his show The Shop and getting
a haircut every time on l HBO is there's a
special type of humor that that hits me with every
single time.
Speaker 1 (01:38:52):
I think that's hilarious.
Speaker 2 (01:38:53):
I cut hair for about fifteen sixteen years.
Speaker 3 (01:38:55):
Man, it's easy to just make the clippers look like
they're touching because you can't keep hitting the hairline, it
will eventually go back. You don't have everybody. He's got
the Lebron's a billionaire, right, so he's got the money. Listen,
I die my beer, so I don't any man wants
to do it. Yeah, yeah, man, just for men, y'all
need hey listen, just from in new sponsorship.
Speaker 2 (01:39:11):
Baby hit me up. I got a lot of coupons.
Speaker 3 (01:39:13):
I got a lot of coupons in my bathroom drawer
that I could show you.
Speaker 2 (01:39:17):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (01:39:17):
I'm a loyal fan. But I'm all for a he
got the plugs now.
Speaker 2 (01:39:21):
But I'm all for anybody that wants to have their
image look a certain way.
Speaker 3 (01:39:26):
I'm never one to clown anybody. You see men now
doing the full. They call them units. They're doing the full.
You and the ball guy.
Speaker 2 (01:39:32):
Goes in mayor you've seen these videos online, right, ball
guy goes in and then they laid they put the
glue and they laid down, and then they cut it
and they clip it and they trim it and then
they spin the chair around it. Hey, hey, look, I
My dad always told me don't worry about another man
pockets and what another man looked like, or what another
man got got on, like what he's wearing.
Speaker 3 (01:39:51):
My pop taught me that. So that's how I live.
And some of them cuts be looking good.
Speaker 4 (01:39:55):
Wait what did that just be a two paydof uh?
Speaker 3 (01:39:58):
No, because the two pay you can take off at
night these last up to these guys. Actually, okay, no, no, no.
Speaker 2 (01:40:04):
The Yeah, there's one thing that we are going to
miss now in sports talk television. It's the ability for
all the inside the NBA guys to be bald but
also have a hairline.
Speaker 1 (01:40:18):
Look it up. Watch true they all have hairlines, but
they are all bald. That's that new surgery to No,
I like.
Speaker 4 (01:40:25):
Just like the like a spray painted.
Speaker 1 (01:40:27):
No no, no, no, no, no, no, no no.
Speaker 2 (01:40:29):
What I'm telling you go look on your Google, Kenny Smith,
Google any picture inside the NBA at the desk. They're
all bald headed, and they all got a crispy liner.
Speaker 1 (01:40:40):
They don't make any But I promise you it's a fact.
Speaker 4 (01:40:43):
Is that what you're gonna do when you're like sixty?
Speaker 2 (01:40:45):
No, but if I was gonna get the same money
that Charles Barkley would be getting at sixty years old,
I too would be open to another media job.
Speaker 1 (01:40:54):
Remember all that blufter he was all gonna retire.
Speaker 2 (01:40:56):
No, that was all just trying to get the leverage
and trying to make sure that he and all the
people on inside the NBA could keep their jobs.
Speaker 3 (01:41:03):
Yeah, not only that, it's it's you know, it's easy
to say that when you're making a lot of money.
But like I've had, you know, rich people tell me before,
it's not how much you made, it's what you're keeping
invest not even saved. Saving is nothing. If you're not
investing your money, you're in trouble. It's not what you make,
it's you. It's what you have and invest. And Markley
seems to be a spender. He's talked about it, like
(01:41:25):
Markley spends. And if you're one of these other networks
coming to him with what another twenty million dollar deal?
He said his deal he was on Dan Patrick and
he said his current deal was ten years, two hundred
and ten million dollars and that he's in year three.
He just finished year three of that deal. And he
wants T and T to.
Speaker 2 (01:41:43):
Pay the remaining full contract of the deal or make
him an untouched you know, free agent, like make him
a free agent he can go sign. You want to
go to unrestricted free AGENTA yeah, he want to go
to unrestricted free agency.
Speaker 1 (01:41:56):
But he said he was going to retire.
Speaker 3 (01:41:57):
I think he said he was going to retire because
he probably was thinking Martin, I, you know I got
two ten coming you know, I got too unt he
lives in Arizona. That's where Barkley lives. So is cheap
out there to pay for the TAXI? Yeah, but if
that's all you're paying for out there, that's fine. I
thought about moving out there. I just have a radio
show here and I can't do that right now my
kids in school. But I think that's why that was
(01:42:17):
out there. I'm I'm I'm gonna retire. I'm going to
pass the torch on. Yeah, I got two hundred ten
coming and then maybe T and T's like, uh naw,
you don't have to coming. So there's that battle going
on right there. But he has talked about other networks
very openly in the negative way.
Speaker 1 (01:42:34):
I it be, it'd be hard pressed to see and.
Speaker 3 (01:42:37):
Well he said, you know that little bit of money
they pay over there for all that work they be
making people do.
Speaker 1 (01:42:42):
Yeah, I don't think ESPN is and the you.
Speaker 2 (01:42:45):
You about it, you about to be you about to
be making money and doing all that work. But I
tell you it'll be very much like with CJ.
Speaker 1 (01:42:53):
Remember CJ.
Speaker 2 (01:42:53):
Gardner Johnson for the uh he left. I have Eagles
fans when he goes to de right plays in Detroit
for a year. Philly signs him back. Hey, yeah, I
was just playing. Yeah, I ain't meet it like that, Philly.
Speaker 1 (01:43:09):
I didn't meet it like that. Fly Eagles fly third game.
Speaker 2 (01:43:13):
Yeah, you don't have to leave, dirty man, You can leave.
Speaker 1 (01:43:17):
There's a classy way to just go about your business.
Speaker 2 (01:43:19):
Paul George rookie quarterbacks coming up next, right now, Steve
di Seger with everything trending in sports eight.
Speaker 11 (01:43:25):
See hello, gentlemen. Let's start with tonight's ball game at Boston.

win at Arizona six to five. The MLB trade deadlight
is two. The Cubs today acquired third baseman Esach Parades
from Tampa Bay Cubs won seven to three at Kansas City. Also,
Texas is acquired catcher Carson Kelly from Detroit. Texas a
(01:44:10):
loser again at Toronto, seven to three, so the Blue
Jays take three straight this weekend. The Rangers had won
five in a row until this weekend. Saint Louis won
on a solo homer bottom of the nine from Paul
Goldschmidt for to three over Washington. Simone Biles posted the
top score today in the all around despite a calf injury.
The team final is Tuesday. Individual all around is Thursday.
(01:44:32):
Sunny Lee of the US is third right now, Jordan
Chiles a close fourth. US Witman soccer dominated Germany today.
For To won the final Sophia Smith with two goals
in the first half after leaving last week's opening game
with a leg injury. The US had about sixty percent
of the possession today. The American women play Australia on Wednesday.
Australia won six ' five over Zambia today, a combined
(01:44:56):
fifty two shots in the game in soccer two shots
in the game.
Speaker 1 (01:45:01):
Today.
Speaker 11 (01:45:02):
Australia was down five to two, but as part of
the comeback, got an own goal a penalty kick goal
and a ninetieth minute goal. Canada, with a last minute goal,
beat France two to one. Of course, Canada's head coach
is not there Bev Priestman was suspended for a year
for using drones to spy on opponents. Closed practices in
recent years, including last week. US women's basketball debuts at
(01:45:23):
the Olympics Monday against Japan. US men's basketball debuted for
its tournament today, beating Serbia impressively one ten to eighty four.
Kevin Durant did not play any of the five tune
up games. The US went five to zero, but Duran
had been out with a string calf didn't even practice
with Team USA till about a week ago. Off the
bench in seventeen minutes, Durant had twenty three points today
(01:45:46):
and shot eight for eight from the floor in the
first half. The Americans as a team shot sixty two
percent from the floor. South Sudan won its Olympic debut
against Puerto Rico. The US will play South Sudan on Wednesday,
then against Porto on Saturday. Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson missed
a fourth straight practice with a strained calf. Bengals wide
(01:46:07):
receiver Jamar Chase did not practice for a fourth straight
day no injury. John Rahm took the live golf event
in the UK by one stroke. Kjchroy won the Senior
Open in Scotland. The PGA Tour was in Minnesota this weekend.
Jonathan Vegas won it. And guys, are you aware of
the difference between let's say the winners checks or pretty
(01:46:27):
much any check given outs on the PGA Tour compared
to what live golf gives out And they were each
in action this weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:46:34):
I feel like it's similar to the viewing of a
regular season NBA game and the.
Speaker 1 (01:46:39):
Viewing for the swimming events in the Olympics.
Speaker 2 (01:46:41):
Yeah, I would say maybe five or six million the difference.
Speaker 1 (01:46:46):
Well, let's put it this way.
Speaker 11 (01:46:47):
The total purse for the PGA event this weekend was
eight mil. A winner gets four million dollars every time
wow wow on the live golf game. It doesn't matter
where they're playing, what event it is, whether the golfer
has been heard from or not. It's only a three
round tournament. Of course, every weekend they have one, and
they don't have one every weekend. So John Ram gets
(01:47:09):
four million dollars plus any team bonus cash. They add
up team scores over the weekend as well. The PGA event,
the winner got one point four million Live Golf, A
tie for second got one point five million.
Speaker 3 (01:47:24):
Man, she's back to you, man and John Rahm Masters
winner last year?
Speaker 11 (01:47:28):
Correct, John Ram No, uh no, not last year?
Speaker 2 (01:47:32):
Last year?
Speaker 11 (01:47:33):
Yeah, okay, right, but of course you know, well.
Speaker 1 (01:47:38):
Yeah, yeah, twenty three. But yeah, Live golf.
Speaker 3 (01:47:40):
When that first started, Steve I did a show with
Aaron Torres and Rug and me him and both like
got into it because they wanted to talk about like
the political stuff with I'm like, listen, if you have
the opportunity to make generational, life changing money for yourself
and your family, right, it was like Monty Williams with
the Pistons when they put an eighty million dollar contractor funny,
I don't care how much you want to go sit
(01:48:01):
on your sofa.
Speaker 2 (01:48:02):
You say yes.
Speaker 11 (01:48:03):
By the way, it was two masters ago, take twenty
three year correct. I always thought that because some people
had had moral difficulties with taking Saudi money, and that's okay,
I mean flesh that out and figure out where the
rest of your money is coming from, thank you, And
I would personally. And I thought about this because it
was you're not getting a hot topic of conversation at
(01:48:23):
the time. If you're against like say you know something
with Israel or something, pick the best Israel charity you
got and just designate some percentage of your Saudi money.
And then actually you're giving Saudi money to your designated
charity and you still get the golf. You don't have
to pay a full time schedule, you never play four rounds,
(01:48:46):
and everybody gets a check, even last place there.
Speaker 3 (01:48:49):
It is wow, yep, man, listen, don't tell me not
to take the money. Don't know, don't tell me how
to how to well, family, And.
Speaker 11 (01:48:57):
Who's negotiating to take Saudi money right now? It's the
PGA Tour. It's it's why Tiger Woods couldn't say yes
to the Ryder Cup captaincy for next year. Sorry, a
little busy right now. Negotiations still Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:49:10):
Well, they were willing to offer him almost a billion
dollars And how do you say, how do you say no?
Speaker 1 (01:49:17):
Are you kidding me?
Speaker 11 (01:49:18):
I guess when you have a billion already? It's less impressive.
Speaker 1 (01:49:21):
Well, the one two's better than one. I couldn't even
think what I would do a five hundred million. I'm
sure I'd find something to do with it.
Speaker 2 (01:49:30):
I'm sure you'd find something. You're gambling. You're gambling.
Speaker 11 (01:49:34):
What's an easy answer to that for a sports fan?
And it has nothing to do with gambling. It's quite
the opposite of gambling. Is you find a way to
buy into an NFL franchise. You go because that's a
cash cow. Man, Because if your salary cap, let's pretend
salary cap is a round number of three hundred million,
I think you're going to be grossing a little bit
more than that.
Speaker 2 (01:49:52):
Yep every year.
Speaker 3 (01:49:53):
Wow, right, Find an investment group. Find investor groups that's
buying into a team.
Speaker 11 (01:49:57):
Find you a team, man, How do you lose money
on the most popular league in the country that has
only national television contracts?
Speaker 2 (01:50:05):
You don't should I'm just a couple of years too late.
I got imagine, Come on, magine, let's go be commander.
Speaker 3 (01:50:12):
Did you guys hear Dwayne Wade make a joke because
you know he's for you?
Speaker 2 (01:50:15):
Yeah? Did you hear that?
Speaker 1 (01:50:17):
Don't we got a two way available? Like it's just like,
oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:50:20):
I forgot he is. He is mored owner of the
Utah Jack Can I.
Speaker 11 (01:50:23):
Mentioned I'm glad you brought up his name because I
was fearful he was not going to be good in
this season, so was I. These past two days he's
been surprisingly good. I mean humorous. He's got really good info,
like scouting type info on the NBA guys. He knows
and is able to share something. He still needs to,
quite frankly, be better at the English language. It is
a communications job. If you saw when he hosted a
(01:50:46):
game show, not very good at the English language at that,
but not surprisingly good this weekend.
Speaker 3 (01:50:51):
Yeah, no, I was with you when I saw him
sitting there, I'm like, okay, and they got him with iron,
they got my iron Eagle. No, no, no, I'm sorry,
and I love no. I think no it does a
great job. And I saw Waite tit and the I'm like, okay, yeah,
I definitely want to turn this up because I just
want to see if he's going to try to cool
his way through this or is he actually going to
be a color commentary commentator and really, and I, like
(01:51:14):
you said, I was surprised. I said, okay, Wade, all right,
you know, cause some guys feel like a little over
the top like RG three is the guy I always
get when I'm watching college football.
Speaker 1 (01:51:22):
It's like, Bro, we don't need a cool line every
other player. We don't need a.
Speaker 3 (01:51:25):
Movie reference, our TV show reference every other possession. It's okay,
one or two a game, call the damn game, please
and do.
Speaker 11 (01:51:33):
Some stuff off the cuff, like there was this weekend
at one point, Noah Eagle. There was some bad play
that was made on the court and no Eagle, so
we've all been there, and Wade immediately said, bro, you've
not been You've not been there, because he.
Speaker 1 (01:51:46):
Has it, I'll say this. I was surprised. I didn't
know that Dwayne Wade was on the broadcast, so I
turned it on.
Speaker 2 (01:51:52):
I was like, well, that guy sounds just like Dwayne Wade,
but uh much better grades for Dwayne Wade called basketball
than it was for Kelly Clarkston and Peyton Manning calling
the opening ceremony. I didn't.
Speaker 3 (01:52:08):
Really Okay, I pay, I'm just like I'm a Peyton guy.
I think I mean off the field.
Speaker 2 (01:52:13):
I just love his personality and came absolutely fine. Like,
for example, I loved pretty much almost every movie that
Miles Teller has put out. I've loved the way he's
acting in it. But I don't need him to tell
me what's going on in Badminton. You know, I would
like to have somebody probably at the opening ceremonies who's
been I don't know, a part of the.
Speaker 1 (01:52:34):
Opening ceremony at some point.
Speaker 2 (01:52:36):
Maybe out of all in five hundred and so Americas
they send every year, they couldn't find anybody.
Speaker 1 (01:52:41):
He did stumble.
Speaker 3 (01:52:42):
I did catch pay He did stumble with a few
facts and kind of mumble through it, and then Tarico's
good enough to move in.
Speaker 2 (01:52:50):
I did catch that a few times. I thought, maybe nerves,
You're like, what how many people watch opening to thirty
eight millions?
Speaker 1 (01:52:55):
Something ridiculous like that. I mean, I understand Turco being there.
Speaker 2 (01:52:59):
Some body, he's gotta describe what's happened.
Speaker 11 (01:53:02):
He's apparently going to be their NBA voice when they.
Speaker 2 (01:53:04):
Get your day.
Speaker 1 (01:53:05):
Sure did they put that out the other that the
other day, But people.
Speaker 11 (01:53:07):
Were complaining online about Kelly Clarkson A that she wouldn't
shut up, and B when she did talk, it was
mostly wow, oh.
Speaker 4 (01:53:15):
Look, wow, you have to be pretty lame to hate
on Kelly Clarkson.
Speaker 2 (01:53:20):
I'm not gonna lie and I know, it was supposed
to be like an emotional moment and all of that,
but like, as a I don't know, what would you
call this professional broadcaster or you know, or at least
our moonlight is one on the weekend. That's what we are.
Speaker 5 (01:53:32):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:53:33):
When she after Celine Dion went up there and had
her performance, and Kelly Clarkson was just like, I'm lost
for words.
Speaker 1 (01:53:39):
Yes, Like then, what are you doing here?
Speaker 2 (01:53:43):
Come on, You're.
Speaker 1 (01:53:43):
Supposed to tell me. It's supposed to give me some insight.
Speaker 2 (01:53:46):
That's how difficult it may be to perform from the
top of the the middle of the Eiffel Tower or
in a rainstorm or what. There's so many different I'm
just at a loss for words.
Speaker 11 (01:53:55):
It reminded me of years ago there was in Spanish
language a World Cups semifinal. Brazil was in penalty kicks,
and literally the analyst in Spanish said, I can't speak
exactly when you're in the middle of the moment.
Speaker 2 (01:54:10):
Yeah, you're kind of paid to do that right now
at one job. Sorry, Ja, I've bet a loss for words.
I can't go for the rest of the show. That's
all good. I could carry it, but we go. We
got each other's back. It's not listen.
Speaker 1 (01:54:20):
At least they weren't as bad as was it to
uh to leave to leave with uh oh yeah, No,
he was horrible. I'm sorry he was horrible.
Speaker 2 (01:54:29):
He was hard. Like like Steve just said, there's an
English there's a there's an English language. And then when
you're calling games, you should probably follow.
Speaker 11 (01:54:37):
And they'll just say this out loud because it seems
some people don't know this broadcasting is not a podcast. No,
it's you brought us possible audience.
Speaker 2 (01:54:46):
And you actually need to know something.
Speaker 11 (01:54:47):
Yes, you actually need to do your homework.
Speaker 3 (01:54:49):
Yes, when I called games, trust me the way I
speak here. I spoke differently for Fox Sports West, for
ESPN twelve eighty other affiliates I call, especially Mark. When
I got called to do my first co Division One game,
I was nervous as hell driving three hours to that
stadium because I didn't want to come off as the
radio guy. I wanted to come off as a former
player who's being bought in and paid a nice little
(01:55:09):
check for three hours to sit in Oregon State and
call a college football game.
Speaker 2 (01:55:14):
So there is a difference.
Speaker 1 (01:55:15):
You just weren't at a loss of words never.
Speaker 2 (01:55:19):
Was what the Dwayne Wade hire. I thought it was.
Speaker 11 (01:55:21):
They were just hiring a famous name. Didn't know how
it would work out, because I remember Dan Marino not
adding too much of anything when he was on the
Sunday pregame show, or when Joe Montana was the big
name and retired and he got added to NBC's NFL
and he was worthless on the air.
Speaker 1 (01:55:37):
You want to go revisit Dennis Miller on Monday Night Football.
Speaker 11 (01:55:40):
So at least he had a career in communication. Otherwise,
Tony Carnheiser was worthless on the air in midnight night football.
Speaker 2 (01:55:49):
But all of this is all the more reason why
Charles Barkley is like, yeah, I'll take that bag one
more time. Yeah, I'll take I'm very good at what
I do. Coming up next, finally get to talk about
some of these rookie quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (01:56:02):
And also this is truly a man with no country.
Speaker 2 (01:56:08):
Coming up next. VJ liked that one because I read
the name on the paper.
Speaker 1 (01:56:14):
That's why VJA. The theme is inside the NBA.
Speaker 2 (01:56:17):
All okay, all right, shortly after the show hour Charles podcast,
We'll be going up. If you've visited the Today's Show,
be sure to check out the Chuck I'm sorry shack
po guys. This search Fox Sports Radio where if you

in podcasts.
Speaker 1 (01:56:34):
Also to follow and rate and review.
Speaker 2 (01:56:36):
The Koby's podcasts. This search Fox.
Speaker 1 (01:56:38):
Sports Radio where if you get your.
Speaker 2 (01:56:41):
Look at Oh my gosh, you'll see this show after
we can get off to you die Martin VJA coming
to life at the Tireck dot com studios. One more
segment here on this Sunday evening, getting you ready for
your week upcoming.
Speaker 1 (01:56:56):
Well, here's a little water cooler topic.
Speaker 2 (01:57:01):
Joe l Embiid played eleven minutes in the opening round
of pool play game against Tim and uh Kentrick Perkins
among them.
Speaker 1 (01:57:10):
Many people from the down that States will say.
Speaker 2 (01:57:12):
Oh my god, will you put him on the bank.
Turns out he also is getting booed in French, as
the French fans in the stadium are booing to.
Speaker 1 (01:57:25):
LMB when he touches the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:57:27):
Ye be friends, I'm just saying, my man, my man
has got you want to talk about catching it from
all sides? He does.
Speaker 3 (01:57:36):
Yeah, he deserves it, though, man, like you could you
know you first of all, shouldn't be on the team.
And then I'm not trying to, you know, be funny
or make a joke or anything, but his citizenship are
where he's originally Like he had the choice to play
for the two other countries.
Speaker 2 (01:57:50):
If I'm.
Speaker 3 (01:57:52):
There, you go for Cameroon or for friends so, and
if so, the French people are like, hey, you chose
somebody over us.
Speaker 2 (01:57:59):
We're not going to here for you. You know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:58:01):
It's like if you break up with me, right, you
choose a different dude to be with and we show
up at the same sports bar. You think if you
think when you you think when you introduce me to
him or try to speak to me, I'm dapping him up.
Speaker 1 (01:58:12):
That's not happening. I know I'm not that guy. God ain't.
God ain't work with me that much that he's.
Speaker 2 (01:58:16):
Brought me a long way. We ain't deal with that
in therapy. Have to like it.
Speaker 5 (01:58:20):
Like if I was like, like, because me being Southnist American,
if they if I had the option to pay for
America or for Southident, I probably played for Saccident.
Speaker 4 (01:58:28):
It's not like no, like this, but it's like the.
Speaker 2 (01:58:32):
Reason why he said he didn't play for Cameroon is
because he didn't think they were qualify and he wanted
to participate in the Olympics in general.
Speaker 1 (01:58:38):
So he does the thing.
Speaker 3 (01:58:39):
He's good enough to get them there because I'm pretty
sure they're they're qualify. They're qualifying.
Speaker 2 (01:58:43):
Can't be that. I don't know what win various tournaments
to qualify? If be the host country to qualify, there's
different steps along the way.
Speaker 3 (01:58:51):
He'd have been straight with France though. See that's the
other thing. He'd have been straight with France that team.
Think about it, but it's more though, tell you like
you know, I think background and stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:59:03):
But if you but if you if he did play
for France, right, that would be you would have Joe Lmb,
Rudy Gobert, and Victor winbin.
Speaker 1 (01:59:12):
Yama all on the same team in the post good
luck squad. That's twenty one feet of person.
Speaker 3 (01:59:18):
When you when you can go tend, when you can
smack the ball off the rim too, when you can
do the rules are different.
Speaker 2 (01:59:24):
Like if he he could have played for France, I'll
tell you this, Wemby would have to play point guard. Man.
Speaker 1 (01:59:28):
He probably could have too. He got going really well.
Speaker 2 (01:59:30):
The other night too. Man. He started out a little.
Speaker 3 (01:59:33):
You could tell the nerves and that young kid on
the home country just off his first NBA season, no
more on overall pick. But once his once his juice
got going, once his legs got going, man, you can
say it's like, Okay, he's feeling it now he's he's
and the crowd was just crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:59:49):
That's the first game I heard Wade vj juice. Yeah,
well not. He probably got his on Wimby. He probably
got it on Winby.
Speaker 2 (01:59:54):
Sauce.
Speaker 3 (01:59:54):
I'm the only one with juice somebody else. Y'all gotta
have sauce as seasoning as or sprinkles or something like that.
Y'all can't just been like. You can't be like, oh
I got Martin juice. No I got the juice. You
gotta have sauce or seasoning or something like that, spread
or mayonnaise or something.
Speaker 1 (02:00:08):
They only want me be that juice.
Speaker 3 (02:00:10):
That's right, baby, And let me tell you something, Martin,
this is not I'm not making a story out. When
that song came out, I rode around with that. That
was one of my songs on repeat. You know, the
they were you running errands, man. I had a Hondo chord,
and when Nelly came out with that pimp juice, I
turned my system all the way up. I had two
fifteens in my trunk that let you know how long
(02:00:32):
ago it.
Speaker 1 (02:00:32):
Was, and they want me from a pint juice.
Speaker 2 (02:00:39):
I pulled off next to somebody who had some fifteens
in the trunk like two weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (02:00:43):
And I was just like, hey, pal, it's twenty twenty,
and listen now and now Martin, I ride around. I
gave Martin a ride home one day. Martin gets to
my car, start the car. If the radio comes on,
Martin looks at me and goes, you really do listen
to classical music? I said yeah, because I had classical
music play when I got it.
Speaker 2 (02:01:00):
Know this, we have a classically good time coming up
next as Arnie Spaniard and Chris place Gracier Airwaves.
Speaker 1 (02:01:06):
We're out
