Speaker 1 (00:01):
You don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
That's right, Monty and Martin Weiss here on a Fox
Sports Football Saturday.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Uh, Monsey, you know what this is. This is a
thanks for coming.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Out Saturday, because that's kind of like the results of
a lot of these games. Forty two to nine, Thanks
for coming out, Rutgers, Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Thirty five to three, Thanks for coming out, Charlotte.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yeah, Syracuse, Syracuse, thanks for coming out.
Speaker 4 (00:29):
Boys Camp, thanks for coming out. They really just just
came for the day.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Now.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
We've never had any discussion about this at all. You
played high school sports, No, I did. Okay, So were
your teams good in high school? Bad?
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Average?
Speaker 4 (00:44):
How work we were? We were good? We were good.
I played. I played softball, volleyball, and basketball. My volleyball
team was we were in the playoffs every year. And
my basketball team, we're in the playoffs every year.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Okay, So I asked, because I was similar. We weren't
winning state champions.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
We weren't winning state chip but.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
We were better than the average team.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Correct, Because I never in life have come out somewhere
and like what was meant to deemed to be relatively
equal competition and been down what Syracuse was down in
the first quarterns. I'll just run it through in case nobody,
in case you weren't locked in, in case Peacock didn't.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Make your game of the day.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Yeah, right, So first first possession, pick six, forsp point
punt returned for a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Second one, pick six, Notre Dame hadn't touched the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
On the offensive side prior to scoring twenty one points.
And then on top of that, we have Monti's Saturday
Standouts in just a couple two hours from now. I
don't know if this guy made the list. Probly I
might be stomping on it right now. But Jeremiah Love
had a type of game that is only attainable in
(01:56):
video games. Eight carries in his seventy one yards and
three touchdown eight carries.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
That's what's crazy about that.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
He almost scored a touchdown on half of his carries,
just under half, like.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Dish of his carries.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
It was a definitely not if you if you did
not watch any of the games today, you did not
miss much.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
So yeah, you know what, if there's a college football
game or result that you're super locked into that you'd
like us to talk about shoot me a tweet. I'm
at Martin Weissni's at Monzi Blaos. But because the SEC
decided to schedule the little sisters that are poor, We're gonna
pay attention to the NFL for the next hour.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
So how about that?
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Yeah, especially since sc couldn't pull off the win. You know,
for a second you thought maybe coming out of the
half right they got that stop, You're like, maybe maybe
they can do it, and then yeah, wheels fell off.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Yet Ian's playing the world's smallest violin in the background.
Speaker 3 (02:59):
They thought this was your was gonna be different.
Speaker 5 (03:01):
No, this was a good year.
Speaker 6 (03:02):
I would say it was a successful year for us.
See it's not over yet too, but like this was chalk.
Los An Oregon was chalking. If they managed to win that,
it's like crazy, We're in the playoffs. That's a serious
you know, like you maybe need to give Lincoln Riley
an extension after it. But it's like, you know, this
this is kind of just chock. We lost to Orgon.
We were supposed to. It's been a good year.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Well, speaking of things being chalk, that has not been
the case in the NFL this year, because you would
be hard pressed to find. In fact, I told Ian
in confidence, I think that the Chiefs, the Bills, and
the Ravens are gonna have trouble this season.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Prior to this preseason, I was.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
Like, but I can't go on the radio and say
it because I'll sound like a jerk because I have
no empirical evidence as to why this would be the case.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
I swear I was telling people.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
I was like, I think the Waves might have missed
the playoffs, dude, And it's like, why because they've been
too good for too long? Yeah, right, same thing with
the Bills, they've been too good for too long. The
Chiefs that played more football in the last seven years than, like,
the Jaguars have played three less seasons in the last
seven years than the Chiefs has.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
When you consider all the postseason and and.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Super Bowls, It's like, I just thought they might stink,
And I'm still not sure that they.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Do or not. We don't know if they're stinky, but
they're definitely not as good, right, That for sure is a.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Fact, and it has a very It.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Feels like all those all three of those teams aren't
as good as maybe you thought coming into the season.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
And then on the flip side of this, you have
like the middle school days for us, where somehow at
the top of the AFC is the Colts and the Patriots,
right right, it's just like wait a minute, all right,
we're right back to Manning Brady to wait a minute.
Not so much because one of these guys is Daniel Jones.
And so I bring to bring to that point. Drake
(04:49):
May is cemented in New England. Right, he's right now,
He's the odds on for second favorite for MVP. Right,
eight game winning streak in his second year as the
rookie quarter on the on a rookie deal. Congratulations, sir,
You've got an extension. No worries, Okay, Daniel Jones is
not in that place despite the successes that he's had
so far this year.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
You don't think the Colts moves that they made mean
Daniel Jones is their future.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
I think, listen, at this.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Point, even if it all goes downhill from here, they
don't have any first round picks, if.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
I understand what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
But I think we're looking at the difference between here
and this is the question I'm going to ask because
we have this collision course of this team that has
been underachieving in the Kansas City Chiefs, and a team that,
for all our and maybe we're all just wrong. We
all predicted rain and it was sunshiny days, right. But
most of the people who were calling this thing said,
(05:45):
you know, a couple people said the Colts win the division.
Nobody thought the Colts would be a top of the
AFC with offensive numbers rivaling the greatest show on turf
in the twenty eleven New Orleans Saints. Those things don't
even make me feel good saying out loud, but I
know that they're true here.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Right, And so what I say, who's got more to lose?
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Is in this because if Kansas City loses, the path
to the playoffs becomes as it is, as the needle
through like the whole of a needle pin right. And
if indian lose, in Indianapolis loses, right because before they
traded all these picks, Danny's our guy, Danny's our guy,
(06:22):
Danny's our guy. Then you go up against a team
that has been running the AFC, right, and in a
down year, this is your year. You're supposed to start
knocking these guys off, right, If you're a real team
if you're a real team, The Colts are gonna win
this game, right, or at least compete. What if Daniel
Jones comes out and throws four interceptions, because you know
what the difference between he and Sam Darnold is. Sam's
(06:43):
already got his three year on hundred million dollar contract and.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
He's still throwing four interceptions. Uh yeah, I honestly don't
know who's got more to lose, because there's different reasons
for each of them. But if I'm gonna if I'm
gonna give the edge to someone, the Chiefs, it's the Chiefs, right.
They're desperate, They are absolutely desperate in this game. They
(07:07):
can't lose it. I think you're right. I think if
they win, the chances of getting to the playoffs it's
like forty five percent, and if they lose it's like
or something like that.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
I don't know what the percentages are, but I know
they only can afford to lose two more games and
make the playoffs. Right, pretty much all attendsive purposes to
be that wildcard teams. They'll have no tie breakers, right,
So obviously you lose this one, then you're gonna lose
one more game.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
And the way the Colts have played the last two games.
You know, Daniel Jones in his last two games, what
four interceptions, six fumbles, three of them lost, twelve sacks
like in the last two games Indiana Jones, Daniel Jones,
whatever we're calling him, has not delivered, and so there
is pressure on the Colts. Have you looked at the
remaining schedule for the Colts who they're facing. They're gonna
(07:52):
face Houston twice after the Chiefs ye half point, they
have to face Houston twice. They have to face the
Sea Hawks, they have to face the forty nine ers
were getting in the groove themselves, and then they see
the Jags twice. Where do you see a guaranteed win there?
Speaker 2 (08:12):
I mean, I wouldn't say I see I think they'll have.
Like to your point, those should be competitive games. And honestly,
how many times do you see a fourteen point favorite
just lose outright? In the NFL in general, right, everybody
out here is getting paid your point, that is a
beast of a schedule going forward.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
And I think the biggest one that you said is.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
They still have four games between the Texans and the Jaguars.
So as good as this stretch has been for the Colts.
You start to drop games out of division, like and again,
just three weeks ago you saw CJ.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Strado go down with the concussion.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
You thought all seasons ever for the textas they weren't
looking particularly good in the first place, right then they
come out show that they have a very very good defense.
We'll get to that game actually in the next segment,
talk at a little bit about that. To fallout from that,
just how good the taxis defensive, Bill's offense or wherever
you want to frame it.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
I think it's an interesting frame. We'll get to that,
and coming up in just a minute.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
But three weeks ago that this division looks settled, right,
it's all up for grabs at this point. I honestly
think to me, Daniel Jones, this might be and I'm
going to say this a few times today, but.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
I think it's true for everybody I say it for.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
I'm not just trying to have a hot take for
I think this is quite literally the most important.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
Game of Daniel Jones's career, like even.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
More important than the playoff game when he was in
New York. I think this is the most important because
if he doesn't ball it all goes back to what happened,
what's wrong?
Speaker 4 (09:46):
So can he ball? But the Colts lose in a
close one, and you're still like, okay, but you pam out.
Oh it doesn't have to You're saying individually, Daniel Jones
has to perform. This is whatever the outcome is for
the Colts is the that doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
This is not necessarily a must win for Indianapolis.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
Although that schedule that you just read is daunting going forward, right,
So I would I would not just say, hey, you guys,
I would not just punt on third, Okay, I would
try to. I would try my best to win. But
Daniel Jones going out there and even playing well in
a like a thirty eight to thirty.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
Five loss, yes, yes, right.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
With no turnovers, three touchdowns, passing three hundred through the air,
somewhere like sixty five percent seventy you know, in that
range of completion percentage, that makes me if if I'm Indianapolis, okay, cool,
I know I lost today, But I didn't lose because
the guy who I want to pay a quarterback is
the reason why I.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Lost, who were making moves to because we see him
as our future. We haven't committed, but we see that,
like that's the.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
Direction they moved in together.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
Yes, they've moved in together.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
You're testing it out.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
And now and now she started coming home later and
later smell a little funny yah.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
Lipstick in places that you right, right, right, you know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
It's not like cigars where you being right. Yeah, And
so now you're trying to see if that behavior. Look
was it Is this a rough time or is this
a habit?
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Or is this who you really are?
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Right exactly? He said, is this a rough weekend?
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (11:15):
Is going to Martin?
Speaker 4 (11:17):
That is not I don't think that's a crazy taker.
I'll take at all. I think you're right. I think
Daniel Jones is playing for his career. I hadn't really
thought of it like that because I was just seeing
the Colts as a whole. But you're right, he needs
to not be the reason that they don't win or
that they lose.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
And I know this sounds this may sound crazy, but
the Colts do have a quarterback on the rookie deal.
Speaker 3 (11:39):
On the roster.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
They like they can't stay healthy.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
I know, but I'm just yes, look okay, and he
can't play.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Look he can't he can't he still.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
I understand that.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
You know, look the orbital it seems like weird things
happen to Anthony Richardson in a weird way.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
And then when it's not.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Something weird, it's either a seventy yard touchdown pass or
a seven yard in completion that almost knocked somebody unconscious
by the ball hitting them in the helmet.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
But I just am saying that thinks I had a
winning record with him, almost touched the playoffs with Gardner
Minshew right now. I think you know, it's kind of
Daniel Jones Walks, Fine, come here, Matt Jones, come on
down to Indianapolis. We'll be right back where we are.
Or it could be, you know, Daniel Jones, you get
the Sam Tharnold.
Speaker 5 (12:25):
One more tidbit for you guys.
Speaker 6 (12:27):
I don't know if this affects your opinion on it
at all, but this would be the first time if
the Chiefs lose, this would be the first time in
the mahomes there that they've lost three straight.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
That is more to me a testament of how great
he has been, more or less an indictment of this
team today.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
Do you know what I'm saying totally.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
And also I'm glad that it's a real three straight
because they tried to do that, like with the like
they tried to play the numbers with like super Bowl losses.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
No, yeah, like where it carries over into the next year, right.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
And speaking of in about an hour and a half,
we're going to talk about how the playoffs needs to
be a whole separate thing and it's ruined the way
that we view one players in Los Angeles to that
it's ruined.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Wow, it's absolutely ruined.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
And I'm coming up next y'all are ruined in the
way that I view one of the best players in
the NFL because I'm sick of hearing about all the excuses.
Not on Manci, She don't play no fools. She gonna
be hearing this and be ready for it.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
Okay. Fox Sports Radio.

at Monty Bellinos will get to your tweets throughout the show,
Monsy Now. Thursday night, we sat and watched Josh Allen
(14:57):
and the Houston Texans do what is the kids today?
They call it B two way. The Texans whoop Josh
left right up down center.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
He took her and it was like a moment.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Where like like football fandom across the America's sat up,
Like when Josh grabbed his hand, it was like, no,
come on, dude.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
You really thought for a second, You're like, really, this
is how it's gonna go.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Like that's the thing about football. It's different than a movie.
Like you watch a movie with George Clooney. If George
Clooney character goes down in the first third, you know
he's getting back up. You know, football, it's like, dude,
we got to watch Rich Trubisky and Davis.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Mills play this game out.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
But watching this made me think of something because I
knew already when I was watching this game that the
conversation was gonna be as it is quite often after
Josh Allen and the Bills loser game.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
What's wrong with the Bills? Why can't they build any weapon? Well,
why can't they build the team around Josh Allen? Where's
the weapons? Where's the what? Keon Coleman, he's inactive again?
Send him to Alcatraz.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
Yeah, that guy? You know, he was dancing on the sideline.
He was feeling fine though.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
I mean, they talk about Keon cole but like he's
a felon. I don't know what he's done, but I
it seems to me.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
And we'll talk about the Cowboys Eagles gave it a minute.
But guys are able to miss a lot of stuff
and still somehow find their way to the Yeah, literally,
you know, like somehow they can find the way for
George Pickens.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
But Keon covid you if you don't stay right over there.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
But watching that game Thursday night, like Josh Allen, I
get it. I understand that he's the best player on
the team and when the Bills win, he's the reason why.
Speaker 4 (16:52):
He tends to be the reason why.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Right more often than not, this is also true just
every other great quarterback in the end However, what is
also true of other great quarterbacks in the NFL is
they can lose their team games in games they played well.
Josh Allen lost the Bills that game. Josh Allen was
(17:16):
the one that, like Josh Allen, is the reason the
Bills lost to the Texans.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
I'm sorry that you may.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
You want to do the whole season wide holistic picture
of yes, they need more wide receivers, they should have
better weapons, the defense should be better, so on and
so forth.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
Yes, yes, yes.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
But on Thursday night it was Josh Allen running around
like a chicken with his head cut off in the backfield,
getting sacked eight times, hit twelve that cost the Bills
the game, in which when thirty seconds left Montsee he
threw an incomplete passing Gabe Davis, where if Gabe got
his foot down, they would have he would have gone
to the end zone.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
It is crazy that it was as close as it
was at the end, with a chance, with a chance.
Don't forget that Prader right, that's the kicker's name.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Regular kicker Tyler Bass is hurt, so they have to
pick up Matt Prater, who's I believe in his forties.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
He is in his forties. He missed the extra point
on that first touchdown. I think it was the only
touchdown actually by James Cook and they were down four,
so they needed the touchdown at the end. It's crazy
that it was even that close, because you're right, Josh Allen.
For the first time in a long, long time, probably
he looked like a you know, a fifth round quarterback
who had not taken first team reps all season.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Listen, let me tell you something around like that blood
internet would have exploded.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
It exploded, But that's right. He looked like he had
never played with this team before, like it was his
first time experiencing any of this. He looked completely lost.
But is it. I hear what you're saying, but the
only reason I don't want to fully agree with you
is because I think it takes away from what the
Texans did. Like you're blaming Josh Allen. I think it
(18:59):
was just the Texans defense was that good.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
So this is and this is where I will give
the Texans credit. In my opinion, the job of the quarterback.
And I have developed this opinion by hearing other people
talk about it. You know what I'm saying. It's not
like I'm over there, like this is what it has
to be. This is not groundbreaking stuff. But you have
to stay positive plays in front of the sticks out.
(19:25):
You get to stay out of negative plays. That's three
ways say the exact same thing. Move us forward and
don't take penalties, don't take sacks. Right, And the reason
why the Texans won that game a game in which
they gave up a fourth and twenty seven defensively, And
I'm not taking anything away from the defense, but in
part because Davis Mills didn't make any mistake.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
He did not and like so he also was not
harassed the way Josh Allen.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
But I don't need you to make it. That's the point,
and that point I agree.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
It's just what he had an experience that I don't
even know if he had time to really every time
they snapped ball, there was already a defender at his hip,
like he could not get the separation the time. You're right.
Even after the game he was asked about it, a
career high eight sacks, how does it feel? He's like,
not good. I got I gotta do a better job,
and he ran, I ran into that they were mind
(20:15):
and he fully he fully knew that. I just think
that they were throwing things at Buffalo, that they just
had no idea how to counteract throughout the entire game,
and like the play calling was questionable. I don't disagree.
I just don't know. I don't know if it was
if it was really just all Josh, And I don't
want to put injuries on it, because you see the
(20:36):
forty nine Buffalo is full of filled with injuries, but
so are the forty nine. Yeah, you're right, so in.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
The overarching concept, on the overarching theme, absolutely, ye, Buffalo
is not deep enough. The GM needs to be doing
a better job. The idea that he called into a
radio show after the draft and said that bitching about
not drafting receivers was laughable and one of the most ridiculous.
That conversation. That is age like yogurt in the microwave. Okay,
(21:04):
like it is it is, That is how bad that
is At this moment, all of it is true, Yes,
but on Thursday night night, and you know what I
get it, it's uncomfortable to say it's hard, especially because
two like, in the last five six years, all of
us become hardened by our opinions and by how many
of those tweets we can get out in two underdatey
(21:26):
characters and how we could say no, man, I was
right and you were wrong, and that's why you're an
idiot and that's why I'm smart.
Speaker 4 (21:32):
But you know, I don't care about that.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
I know, I'm just talking about it.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
I'm talking about America as a whole because this is
deeper than this. You, this is this is this is
a national show. I'm trying to get everybody to understand. Yes,
because here's the other thing. When Joe Burrow comes back
and they start to lose, it can be his fault too.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
It's okay, okay, it's okay, yes.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
And when Mahomes throws three interceptions, it could be his
fault two Tony Romo.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
Yes, it could be his fault two Tony Romo. And
on Thursday Night it was Josh's fault.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
You know what, You're right, Thursday's Thursday's game. That fault
really did kind of look like it was all Josh
Allen's fault. But looking at them, I picked the Bills
to win the Super Bowl this year, and now after
that came, I'm like, why did I pick the Bills?
See like they just they can't stop the run, they
can't stop, they can't do many things unless they're playing
(22:22):
a below average team. It seems like, right like anybody
that has like a defense, it seems.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
Like they don't know they're big.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
They're big time bullies. Come on, come on down, Carolina Panthers.
I can't wait to see you. Oh Rico o'dwald's your
number one weapon.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
Sign me up right?
Speaker 4 (22:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Would you give them?
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Honestly, you give us some team with some weapons, like
a Miami with the eighth chan and the speed over
there all of a sudden, Mike McDaniels outside driving talkings.
Mike McDaniel's talking trash. That's how you know things have
gotten ugly.
Speaker 4 (22:51):
Yep, yep, exactly, exactly. No, it seems like Buffalo right
now is just missing the mark on so many parts
on offensive side of the defensive out of they're just
missing the mark consistently. It's not one game, right, they've
kind of looked like they've lost the step. It's just
this was a mega stuff.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
The reason Honestly, as much as I've been bashing Josh
for the last sixty minutes of football, he played.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
The reason the record is.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
What it is is because of how exceptional he has
been throughout the year.
Speaker 4 (23:23):
But on Thursday night, though Thursday, on Thursday night, though.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
I don't want to hear it.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Yeah, what I do want to hear right now, it's
Steve the Steger to give some contextualization to the college
football Molly Woppins, we have seen today.
Speaker 9 (23:40):
At Wyoming today Josh Allen with his number retired by
the way, congradulatingly the first time in years he has
been there, and Nevada won thirteen to seven at Wyoming.
Pittsburgh at number sixteen Georgia Tech. Tonight, if Georgia Tech wins,
they're into the ACC Conference Championship game. And until a
moment ago, Tech was trailing at home twenty d eight nothing.
(24:01):
It's now Pittsburgh twenty eight to seven with about four
minutes to go in the second quarter. Haines King with
a short touchdown run. He had thrown an interception until
that TD run. Georgia Tech is a team fourteen carries
thirty yards on the ground. Right now at Wisconsin, the
Badgers one and six in the Big Ten, lead twenty
first ranked Illinois seventeen to nothing. Mid second quarter end
(24:23):
of the first period, Number twenty Tennessee a fourteen nothing
leader at Florida for the Voles Joey Aguilar nine of
nine passing one hundred and twenty six yards and a
score on Fox TV. Number eleven BYU out to a
seven nothing lead late first quarter at Cincinnati and mid
first quarter it's number twenty five Arizona State leading at
Colorado three nothing. Number twelve Utah got a home win
(24:47):
against Kansas State a fifty one to forty seven. Seventh
ranked Oregon won at home against usc forty two to
twenty seven. Wins in the top ten for Ohio State
and Texas, A and M for Georgia and number eight Oklahoma,
which won against Missouri seventeen to six. The Notre Dame
home win was seventy to seven against Syracuse. The Irish
(25:08):
led thirty five nothing in the first quarter victories for
Alabama and Miami. Also TCU was a winner at number
twenty three Houston seventeen to fourteen. Tulane got a win.
James Madison escaped with a victory. North Texas also has
a chance for the playoff nine to one record. They've
tied it up at Rice. It's fourteen fourteen in the
(25:28):
second quarter by the way to the NFL, it's not
going to be this weekend that Joe Burrow plays quarterback
again for the Bengals. Maybe Thanksgiving night at Baltimore. He's
been out since September with a tow injury, but he
was not activated by his team off ir today, So
Joe Flacco will start Sunday against the Patriots, who have
won eight games in a row. Cincinnati has lost seven
(25:50):
of its last eight. And keep in mind Bengals wide
receiver Jamar Chase is serving a one game suspension this week.
San Francisco kicker Eddie Pinero is out with a hamstring
in the forty nine Ers confirmed that they voided next
year's guaranteed money for injured wide receiver Brandon aiyuk Packers
running back Josh Jacobs is a game time decision. He
was limited in practice Friday with a knee injury. Green
(26:12):
Bay plays on Thanksgiving at Detroit. Jacksonville activated tight end
Brenton Strange. Former acc Basketball Player of the Year Rodney
Rogers passed away at the age of fifty four. He
had been paralyzed since an accident in two thousand and eight.
NBA wins for Orlando and the Clippers. The Clippers victory
was at Charlotte one thirty one to one sixteen.
Speaker 10 (26:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (26:34):
Now now she talks Clipper, he talks smack for about
two hours today. James Harden in thirty five minutes on
the court, had fifty five points from three point range.
He was ten for sixteen and Kawhi Leonard of the
Clips is expected to return from injury on Sundays, been
out about three weeks. Clippers guard Chris Paul will retire
(26:54):
after this season.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
Back to you, thanks Steve and for the best pregamesho

Speaker 3 (27:21):
Story this week.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Eleven prop bets available for Shador Sanders and first Start.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Before we move on completely from Allen Just real quick,
can I just point this out to you. I was like,
I feel like he lost last year, or the Bills
lost to the Texans last year, nine dations, nine of
thirty last year for only one hundred and thirty one yards,
one touchdown, no interceptions, one sock. But even even last year, again,
I really do feel like Houston they have his numbers.
(27:51):
A great job on this on Thursday.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
And so Damiko Ryans is Josh Allen's dad, Daddy.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
It is in Houston.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Though you may remember, yeah, that that's the original Josh
Allen the playoffs, the lateral behind his head that was
against you, just showing Washington, Houston, Texans.
Speaker 5 (28:10):
In Houston, in Houston.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
That was I'll never forget watching that game because I
remembered a couple of weeks later somebody telling me that
the NFL MVP went nine to thirty in a game
that season, and somehow the MVP people, excuse me, that
didn't validate the whole What are we talking about? One
guy got forty touchdowns, a four interceptions.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
The other guy.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
The other guy, I just had the other guy through
twenty one incomplete passes in a game, not over four
games in a game.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
It is a problem.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
One incompletely.
Speaker 3 (28:44):
That's the that's the issue. I remember what happened to
some of these games.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
Yeah, no, I was like, didn't even play bad. That
sounds like, but you had it.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
You had actually.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
Just you know, it's okay because America as a collective
deleted it out of their brains three weeks later. As
I say, that's sometime, I feel like I'm the only
person I was here, all right, and we will all
remember where we were Sunday one o'clock eastern when the
(29:10):
Browns and the Raiders kick off a game with four
combined wins between the two teams that will have probably
four times the amount of viewership as some of these
other games in the NFL. Shador Shanders, making his first
start in the NFL last week, was four for sixteen
(29:32):
and second half relief Dylan Gabriel got a concussion. Moncey,
your expectations for Shador in his first started, would.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
You like for me to go ahead and lay mine
out first?
Speaker 4 (29:44):
Quickly? Did you notice because not many people are going
to actually have access to this game?
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Sure, because even.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
In Nevada, even in Ohio right like so, not a
lot of people are going to get to actually watch
this game. Which kind of sucks.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
I let me phrase it different, four times the amount
of tweet generated per game.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
There you go, There you go.
Speaker 11 (30:02):
I I think that there are expectations, not high, but
there are expectations for Shador Sanders in his first official
start with a week of practices, you know, with the
first team reps, which is a big thing that everyone
kept talking about.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
He just he has to play well. It's not that
the Browns necessarily have to win, right, kind of like
we were just talking about the Colts and Chiefs with
Daniel Jones. I think Shador is not gonna have a
lot of excuses if he does not play well, because
you're coming up against the Raiders, who are not great.
(30:42):
You're not coming up against the Texans or against a
Rams defense or anything like that. You're coming up against
the team that is flawed, that has played a bad
certain weeks. We've seen them, and so I don't think
he'll have a lot of excuses if he does not play.
(31:04):
Let's just say just just enough for you to say, oh,
he can't play quarterback. You got it, Like it's it's
gonna be an eye test here.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
Oh absolutely, this game in term.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
You can say a lot the most important thing in
this game in terms of the Cleveland situation.
Speaker 3 (31:20):
It's not winning.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
It is one hundred percent shad Like if Shador Sanders again,
very much like we talked about at the top of
the show, for Daniel Jones, if he comes out and
loses in a thirty eight to thirty five loss in
which he has completed sixty five percent of his passes,
seventy percent of his passes, no turnovers, two three touchdowns
combine something like that.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, that'd be that would be incredible.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
But the reality of what this is and I'm not
hoping for this, I am not rooting for this. This
may be has potential to be the last game Shador
Sanders starts in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (31:58):
That's writing this stretch of.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Time while Dylan Gabriel was in concussion protocol. I don't
know the exact number, but there has been a shockingly
few amount of quarterbacks who have only missed one game
due to concussion protocol. So this stretch of time for
Shador Sanders could be the last time he ever plays
in the NFL anything meaningful. It also could be the
launch pad through the remainder of a long and successful
(32:24):
NFL career. That is, how much is at stake for
Shador Sanders in the next four quarters of football potentially eight.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
Absolutely, if he comes out.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
And looks competent, that is going to go mind huge.
It's gonna be especially would you because here's the thing,
and I line up both sides of the argument, right, Oh,
Shadeorg got first team reps. Okay, Well, first of all,
he looks better at Delan Gabriel because Deil Gabriel had
to look competent all year.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
But then the quarterback Joe Flacco started for them, they
traded him Cincinnati. You could see he could play.
Speaker 12 (32:54):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
So maybe it's just Stefanski doesn't have any idea what
he's doing, right man, Maybe the tweeters are right right,
Maybe or he comes out and these things to join
up and it's like, well, maybe everybody else was right
and saying that this kid can't play. The reality is
it likely falls somewhere in the middle, and it always has, right,
(33:15):
we all watch the Door of Colorado. To say the
kid can't play, it's just ingenuous. He clearly had ability.
Now first picking the draft, ability we all saw not
so much, not so much fifth round ability. We all
probably said again so much right, there's somewhere in the middle.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
But the thing that is.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
Where it all becomes gradient when you get into that
those day two, day three it's a lot more than
just how you play, because if you're a Day two three,
Day three pick, you're not always playing, so that all
plays into it. But if she Doorge Sanders comes out
and plays well, it shows hey, I could be a
high end backup maybe potential you won't hate to be
starting for your team.
Speaker 3 (33:55):
That'd be be the craziest art of this whole story.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
Whatever, whatever happens, the response is not gonna be in
the middle people, It's gonna be one side or the other.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
I don't know, Montci. I think everybody's gonna have very
well nuanced.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
Takes, not even a little bit. And I'm telling you
it's because it's kind of like what just happened with
Lebron conveniently coming back when they were playing the Utah Jazz.
How nice for you. This is where you insert yourself
back in the lineup you're playing the Raiders like this
is a perfect opportunity for shad door standers. Because I'm
saying it's like it's the excuses you're not gonna be
able to make them. You're not gonna be able to
make them. You have to play well. You yourself, you
(34:29):
should door standers. As a quarterback, you have to play well.
You have to protect the ball, and if you don't
get the win, that doesn't matter. You have to play well.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
I will say the thing that I do find interesting
about this, outside of the all the other fascinations to
George Sanders first time being a backup quarterback was this year. Right,
He's only prepared as the starter the entirety of his
career going forward. It'll be it now because when he's
obviously doing the things he's doing, like now, he's clearly
(34:59):
working on this fundamentals or whatever, like running scout team,
but he's not necessarily like drilling to beat next week's opponent,
whereas that is how he has spent every week of
football prior to this year. It's gonna be fascinating to
see how he's able to bounce I wantn't even say
bounce back, but I was able to perform in that.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
Type of situation.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Because if he shows that he can play right, just
even a little bit, people are gonna there'll be a
thirst for more. But if he comes out and he
was four for sixteen, extrapolate that throughout an entire game.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
If he was eight for thirty two.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
Oh yeah, and they put in Bailey Zappi, there's a problem.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
It's it's gonna be we see Bailey.
Speaker 4 (35:38):
Zappi come into a game, it's probably.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
Not gonna Shador Sanders. Welcome to podcasting. Coming up next,
we'll play in addition to Sports Court, is Mary mac
guilty probably for putting the MVP expectations on Shad Door
Sanders found up next.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
The court of public opinion moves swiftly. Really do one
hundred and forty characters at a time. Now it's time
for Martin Wis and montz Ulanio.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Some pregate to life. Let's play an This is the
sports court.
Speaker 4 (36:13):
The defense is wrong.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Sports sports Court.
Speaker 5 (36:18):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (36:19):
It is the sports cord. And if you guys, you
like that new imaging we have for this is.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
That muris TomEE for my cousin Betty.
Speaker 5 (36:25):
Probably that sounds.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
An How about that poll from there?
Speaker 5 (36:30):
We go, well done, that was well done, thank you.
Speaker 6 (36:33):
But yeah, you guys know the rules. I have a
list of people from the world of sports that we're
gonna put on trial here in the sports court. I'm
gonna present their case to you, guys, and then it's
up to you, the jury, to tell me whether they
are guilty or not guilty.
Speaker 5 (36:43):
You ready, jes okay? First up?
Speaker 6 (36:46):
Brandon Ayuk stands accused. So Diana Rusini reported yesterday that
Brandon Ayuk has likely played his last game for the
forty nine Ers after the team voided his guarantees for
next year. They cited the fact that he's been absent
from team meetings and activity these despite team leaders and
coaches trying to bring him back into the fold. Now,
he has no contract guarantees for next season and will
likely be released at the end of the year. So
(37:08):
Brandon Ayuk guilty or not guilty?
Speaker 4 (37:11):
Absolutely guilty, I just jumped in here. Sorry, Absolutely guilty
because there's always something with Brandon Ayuk. He was holding
out for a contract extension, but he's been injured. Then
there was the whole thing. Didn't he wear like the
wrong color shorts to like a practice and just just
like the antics forgot about that. Yeah, Like there's just
there's too many things that we hear about and it's like,
(37:32):
are you here to play football or not guilty?
Speaker 3 (37:35):
I'm actually gonna make the forty nine.
Speaker 4 (37:36):
Ers guilty here, Okay, I gut.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
I know I switched that up, So brand Ayuke not guilty. Then,
to answer your question, I didn't. They should have traded him. Yes,
they should have traded him. Make a good point before,
like they offered.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Him this contract instead. You can read Mike Shover's reporting
on This's a one from the beginning to the end.
Kyle Shanahan at the eleventh hour was running up the
stairs out of his back office contract and hands saying,
don't hang up the phone, John, don't trade him.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
I bet you.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
Kyle wish he had like not tied his shoes or something.
They had tripped and fallen in that call at going
through because they should have traded him. It was the
obvious play. That's the reason, part of the reason why
they're spot there in today.
Speaker 4 (38:12):
Change my answer. I support him.
Speaker 12 (38:13):
No.
Speaker 6 (38:13):
I like your answer to them on because I feel like,
you know, they didn't trade him, so in a vacuum
he's kindling it horrible.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (38:19):
Yeah, anyway, next up here, Kevin Stefanski stands accused So
shaduor Sanders as you guys were talking about. He set
to make his first NFL start tomorrow against the Raiders,
but what we saw from him in relief of Dylan
Gabriel last week wasn't pretty.
Speaker 5 (38:33):
It was reported after the game.
Speaker 6 (38:35):
Though, that those were actually Chadeur's first ever snaps with
the first team offense, including practice. So that led to
a lot of Chadur's fans to point the finger at
head coach Kevin Stefanski for not having his second string
quarterback prepared to play with the first teamers, putting him
in a tough position. So, Kevin Stefanski, guilty or not guilty?
Speaker 5 (38:51):
We'll start with Martin.
Speaker 3 (38:52):
He's not guilty, your runner, I.
Speaker 13 (38:54):
Have changed because it's devastating to my case.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
Well, it's just it is absurd. Like, think about this
in real life. Where else does somebody else get a
like do you get an opportunity to do the job
above you?
Speaker 3 (39:07):
Right?
Speaker 2 (39:08):
Even if your boss is out sick, you know, all
of a sudden, didn't become the boss. You know, you
don't get to play boss for a day. This is
not how it works. Wait, I sometimes, Mancy, I will
fill in on a weekday show.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
Guess what we're gonna be on the weekends? All right?
Here is that our job. That's ridiculous to think you
get first team reps if you're not on the first team.
Speaker 4 (39:28):
Yeah, there's an order of events. He's absolutely not guilty.
These allegations are false. There's an order of events, just
like you said. So, I don't understand the outrage in that. Literally,
like you have to know that Dylan Gabriel can't do
the job for you, then to step up and prove
that you can. There's an order of events here. I
don't understand where it was freaking out about that.
Speaker 6 (39:48):
Right when you have a rookie quarterback like Dylan Gabriel too,
it's not like there's all these first team reps to
go around.
Speaker 5 (39:53):
He needs all that he can.
Speaker 6 (39:54):
Get exactly comfortable, exactly Next up, Lane Kiffin stands accused.
So the old miss head co which is the hottest
name on the college football head coaching market, and he's
been courted heavily by LSU and Florida, But we apparently
aren't going to get an answer until after the Egg
Bowl on November twenty eighth. Either way, though, Kiffin seems
at least interested in LSU might even be offering as
much as ninety million dollars.
Speaker 5 (40:15):
Reports say so.
Speaker 6 (40:16):
The thing is ole Miss is still very much in
the college football playoff conversation, currently sitting at ten and one,
could even be championship contenders, leading to a lot of
people calling kiffen entertaining these offers at all a distraction.
So Lane Kiffin guilty or not guilty?
Speaker 4 (40:29):
Monci oh, everybody, he's guilty.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
He did he did that, and.
Speaker 4 (40:35):
Let me just break break the news. He's not entertaining
it anymore. He's leaving. There would be no reason to
make this statement unless he was leaving because Ole Miss
is taking care of their behind by telling anybody, hey,
look he's gonna leave. So if you're gonna leave your position,
we may have an opening too. Like absolutely, no, ridiculous, Bye.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
I'm staying with Lane Kiffin.
Speaker 14 (40:58):
You're letting them go again?
Speaker 3 (41:00):
Now you're crazy. No, here's the thing.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
It's like Evin handled him this well, absolutely all right, absolutely,
Now he loves all this attention. This is a calendar problem, right,
this is a calendar issue.
Speaker 3 (41:12):
He's gotta do. He's gotta leave if he's gotta have a.
Speaker 5 (41:14):
New school he's got.
Speaker 15 (41:19):
Don't listening to sports radio, you know, mind See, I
think Matt Rule is one in three since signing his
new contract extension at the University of Nebraska.
Speaker 2 (41:30):
Currently in the midst of getting mollywopped by Penn State.
Who's gotten molly wopped by everybody else? And I know that,
uh veryola. Patrick Mahomes Junior is hurt. T J latif
Orange Lutheran's finest out here for Southern California Orange. He's
starting right now for Nebraska. But an ass will be
(41:52):
unhappy Valley right now. I bring this up for a
few reasons. If you don't mind, we'll be broadcasting live
here from the Fox Sports Radio studios for the next
ten minutes in the next few hours, stick along and
come with me on this walk through this story. Once
upon a time, Matt Rule was the head coach of
the Carolina Panther and at that time, he went through
(42:15):
quarterbacks the way chain smokers go through cigarettes. He had
a new quarterback at scene every week. Some of those
quarterbacks balling out to this day. I'll get to that
in a minute. All right, now, if you were a
former first round pick looking for work, Matt Rule had work.
Speaker 3 (42:33):
For you, you know, but not for long.
Speaker 2 (42:39):
He ended up releasing Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnald or
seven points throughout that year.
Speaker 3 (42:44):
And when he cut that one, Baker Mayfield.
Speaker 2 (42:48):
Got a call said, Baker, come out West, I need you.
And on one fateful Thursday night, Baker Mayfield started for
the Los Angeles Rams against the Las Vegas Raiders and
if memory serves me, correctly connected with Cooper Cup up
the scene beating Damon Ornette, former Ohio State buck Eye,
(43:12):
costing me money. Baker Mayfield have flown from the Charlotte
Airport just twenty eight hours prior to something ridiculous like.
Speaker 4 (43:23):
That, less than two days, less.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Than two days. That game for Baker Mayfield mane.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
Very much like Shad Door Sanders has the opportunity to
springboard his career and Daniel Jones's the opportunity to springboard
his career. That game for Baker Mayfield springboard in his
career all the way back across the country to Tampa,
in which he is now the beloved franchise quarterback of
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Speaker 3 (43:47):
And they loved them some Baker free in Mayfield.
Speaker 5 (43:50):
Who doesn't love Baker the Cleveland Browns didn't, and I.
Speaker 4 (43:54):
Think they're regretting it. Listen, the Browns, for sure, absolutely
Carolina seems like they're figuring things out with Bryce Young right,
like give it up for them.
Speaker 2 (44:01):
That's like saying Adele's ex is figuring it out. Sure,
I'm sure he is.
Speaker 3 (44:06):
They are.
Speaker 4 (44:07):
What are you talking about.
Speaker 3 (44:08):
I know he's doing well.
Speaker 4 (44:09):
He's he's everyone's little brother, I think.
Speaker 3 (44:11):
But you also could have had a guy who's won
the division last three years.
Speaker 4 (44:16):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
Nineteen and twenty one are best selling albums. But don't worry, buddy,
You're doing fine.
Speaker 4 (44:21):
Yeah. The story of Baker Mayfield is quite interesting, and
I know he's they're expecting a child, and I really
hope they name the son chef. Oh, Baker and chef
Baker and Chef. That's really what I'm hoping for anyway. Yeah,
this it's crazy to now see where Baker Mayfield is
(44:42):
and how important he is to Tampa Bay's success. He's
not just there just to be there.
Speaker 3 (44:48):
He's the guy.
Speaker 4 (44:49):
He is the guy, and this year we have seen
him be the guy. With the injuries that have happened
on the offensive side of the ball for Tampa at
one point he was thrown he had thrown a touchdown.
This was like a few weeks ago, so I'm sure
it's even more. At one point he had thrown a
touchdown to like fifteen sixteen different players on that team.
(45:09):
The only other player that had done more was Sam
Donald at that time. Because Sam Donald also likes to
spread the ball around in the end zone. He likes
to give Jackson Smith and jig But all the yards,
but the touchdowns, he likes to spread them around.
Speaker 5 (45:20):
Once you get down the field, they can go to anywhere,
and they.
Speaker 4 (45:22):
Can go to anyone. But if not, it's going to
Jackson Smith and Jigba And that's Baker Mayfield. What he
is doing is so crazy, and it sucks that the
the injuries have not helped Tampa in the situation and
that they're going up against the Rams and the Bucks
need to win. I just don't know if they're going
to get it.
Speaker 2 (45:39):
So that's why I settled it up because they're playing
this weekend.
Speaker 3 (45:43):
Part of me one is.
Speaker 2 (45:44):
I think, do you think it it worked out for everybody?
Because Matthew Stafford is obviously playing at a very very
high level right now, top two in MVPD top three
and mvpis depending on where you shot, but like right there,
like really and playing of the best ball of his career.
Then Tom Brady actually talked about that and stuck with
(46:05):
me one day.
Speaker 3 (46:06):
He said something about how like.
Speaker 2 (46:08):
That, once you figure out how to play quarterback, your
body no longer can you know, And it's like, so
that's why you see like a guy like Stafford right now,
like his body is obviously allowing him to be able
to play at a high level, but his brain is
like there's nothing, literally nothing you haven't seen on a
football field. I've been doing this for longer than most
of you have been alive. I can just dice and slice.
(46:30):
But so I don't think that there's no buyer beware
for Sean McVay here. But there is like a different
sliding doors NFL universe where if Baker Mayfield never left
Los Angeles, right, and they're like, where did the Buccaneers
go out?
Speaker 3 (46:42):
Does that whole thing play out?
Speaker 2 (46:44):
But in terms of this game this weekend, this is
the biggest game of the in terms of playoff seating,
I think one has a bigger chance in terms of
potential upset. We'll talk about that one in about five
to ten minutes here. But the Bucks in the Rams here,
the Buccaneers to me have been the best team the
last few years, and nobody talks.
Speaker 3 (47:04):
About mm hmm, right, they're like the best of the beat.
Speaker 2 (47:07):
They really are, and they always they're never like they're
they're never top billing. But you'll see him in the playoffs.
They're gonna sneak around win a game they may shouldn't have.
Like this Buccaneers team is good. The Rams team have
had top billing every time. They're great, and I feel
like that's where they are right now.
Speaker 3 (47:22):
But I think they seem they're pretty even.
Speaker 4 (47:23):
And it's not just I like that you brought that
up about the Bucks because it's like, aside from the
Bucks now and not getting much attention, Mike Evans is
a receiver that never gets the attention he should be getting.
Speaker 3 (47:33):
He's one of my favorite receivers and he.
Speaker 4 (47:35):
Does not get the attention he should be getting. I
know he's injured right now and it sucks, but I
was as we were talking about, you were saying, like,
you know, they don't get a lot of attention. I
was like, yeah, because they're not so flashy. I mean,
Mike Evans is flashy by himself, but like he doesn't
get the attention. They're They're just there and they're always good.
But you're facing a Rams team that I did not
anticipate being as good as they are right now, Martin,
(47:57):
I really didn't.
Speaker 2 (47:59):
Dad to me, I think what the Rams do very
very well. It's fine talent that nobody's heard of, yes,
and fine way, and I think that that is just attachament,
especially in today's league. That's why I think so many
people really are big fans of this team, you know,
even despite like you, no, they won the Super Bowl
(48:21):
obviously with this quarterback head coach combination, so you're still
kind of in there with them, you know what I'm saying.
But this team has turned over a few different times,
like today, the deal they signed Nate Landman too. No,
people thought land Man was just a TV show prior
to this season, right like you talking about Lambman. They
thinking this, No, that's Jerry Jones, not Sean McVeigh and
(48:43):
the Rams defense.
Speaker 3 (48:44):
Right.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
They signed into a given fifteen million dollars guaranteed twenty
two and a half over three years.
Speaker 3 (48:49):
He signed on a one year deal with like zero guarantee.
Speaker 2 (48:53):
That's the type of stuff you see in Philadelphia, right
in that defense side of the ball. That is a
sign to me of a great organization. Or I should
say that's what you don't see in Buffalo. Yes, you
know what I mean, what you don't see in a
place like Buffalo.
Speaker 3 (49:08):
So is it?
Speaker 4 (49:08):
Is it Sean McVay. I not to go back to Buffalo,
but you know that Sean McDermott has been on the
chopping block from time to time over the last couple
of years because Buffalo has not delivered the way that
they have expected. So is it Sean McVay that is
the real reason the Rams have this success?
Speaker 2 (49:27):
So what I think Sean McVay is great at doing
is he is? And I think this is something that
you risk when you have court coaches who are strictly
offensive coaches.
Speaker 3 (49:39):
We'll see this this offseason.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
If we're both sitting here doing the show, God willing
and the creek don't rise, we will have there will
be five to six coaches in the NFL who are fired,
and that will be the opinion. Well, you've gotta go
get the Lane Kiffin equivalent in the NFL. The guy
the Clint Kobiak, Right, you gotta go get the guy
who's just reinventing offenses.
Speaker 14 (49:59):
Do O.
Speaker 2 (50:00):
That's gotta be your head coach, right, because Sean McVay
figured it out. I also think with Sean mcvays figured out,
and if he goes back, he is great at hiring
his coordinators. And they talk about Chris Shula the way
like this defensive coordinator in the way that he's getting
the most out of his guys.
Speaker 3 (50:17):
I think that also matters in a major way.
Speaker 2 (50:19):
You lose some of that when you're just like you know,
I'll name names like Matt Lafleur, Like, to me, that's
why the team, like Matt Lafleur's teams will be great
throughout the regular season, and then when it comes time
to I have to win this game, they don't. The
same thing with the Kevin o'conn They have to win
this game and they don't. They don't have special teams
like you know what I'm saying, because their defenses is
suspect or pushing around like I think that's the biggest
(50:41):
difference between those type of guys, and I think that's
what should makes Sean different.
Speaker 4 (50:44):
And the fact that the Rams never took that step
back after they won the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (50:48):
And you know, yeah, one year injuries killed killed them.
Speaker 4 (50:51):
But they never took a step back. They drafted well
and here they are with the quarterback who can't move,
but it does not matter. He is delivering. Davante Adams
has been great for them, and even though his numbers
are like, not great, he's so effective for them though.
He's such a threat, even though his numbers don't necessarily
say that.
Speaker 2 (51:11):
And I think that is the number one like the
reason why. And you'll hear football nerds talk about this
more than I will, and I'm not this is more
of a populous conversation. But the Rams are scoring with
three tight ends on the field because Devontae Adams is
getting but booty open and Matthew Stafford and him.
Speaker 3 (51:29):
It took him a few weeks to figure it.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
Out, but like by week three, four five, Yeah, two
Hall of Fame players still at the height of their
games are gonna be able to figure this thing out.
Speaker 4 (51:40):
And then you put in Karen Williams, who is just
like another You're just they they have weapons, and their
defense is good and they're and they're coaching is good.
And I just it's a tough It's gonna be a
tough task for Tampa Bay. It really is.
Speaker 3 (51:54):
The Tampa is getting Chris Goidwin back. I love that.
Speaker 2 (51:57):
Yeah, this is one thing about the Bucks that under
reported this week.
Speaker 3 (52:01):
Wednesday and Thursday.
Speaker 2 (52:02):
They were sick every stick here this every so often,
like literally actually cough cough, like everybody was sick.
Speaker 3 (52:08):
Give me, give me some use in next sick they can't.
Speaker 2 (52:11):
Wednesday's practice was a walkthrough because everybody was sick, including Baker,
including six players misspractice on Wednesday. So if you see
the Buccaneers come out a little slopping and slow, I'm
not making any excuses. I know they wouldn't either, but
something to think about it as you're watching this game.
Speaker 5 (52:27):
Yes, real quick, guys.
Speaker 6 (52:28):
Also just a little little Davante Adams stat just to
add a little color to what you were saying. He
has four consecutive games with a touchdown reception now, which
is one shy of tying the second longest streak by
a Rams player since the nineteen seventy Mergers. So, like
you said, like the stats aren't popping out, but he's
scoring every week here, and it's like.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
Is that catches are just touchdowns in a row.
Speaker 6 (52:48):
Touchdown catches four consecutive games with a touchdown reception.
Speaker 3 (52:51):
And he'd be seconds is nineteen is the first Cooper Cup.
Speaker 6 (52:54):
Cooper Cup is tied with Tory Holt and Harold Jackson. Okay, okay,
the Cooper Cup.
Speaker 3 (53:00):
When was the year that year that he got that year?
Speaker 6 (53:03):
Yeah, and that record is six straight by Henry Ellards.
So Devanta Adams, if he catches one this week, he's
got a shot at the record in Rams record.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
And you know, I don't know, I haven't done it
coming up now, but I think Devanta Adams just play
this third team. They're running it in the red zone.
He might be now third all time red zone touchdowns.
I think it was sixth going into like he's climbing
up the ranks of I'm one of the best to
do this of all.
Speaker 5 (53:28):
Time, decent player player. He's all right, he's all right,
he's all right.
Speaker 4 (53:32):
I did not know. I did not hear that Tampa
Bay was was sick. And it's interesting because if I
if I'm Tampa Bay, I am trying to keep the
Rams off the field right their offense. Oh yeah, so
I'm giving Sean Tucker the ball. I I have Baker
Mayfield on my fantasy and I don't think I'm gonna
play him because if I'm Tampa Bay, I am going
to try and just do as much run game as
(53:53):
I can and keep the ball in my possession as
long as I can and not let the Rams offense
have the ball.
Speaker 2 (54:00):
You know, thinking of that real quick? Could you remind
me something else? You're talking about the Bills? How about
Sean Tucker against the Bill That Buffalo team can't stop
the run?
Speaker 3 (54:13):
Goodness? Now this hold on? You know? Okay? This is
how I will set this up. These have been two
of the loudest.
Speaker 2 (54:23):
Teams in the NFL this week, two of the loudest
teams in the NFL in terms of just headlines. With one,
the vibe is through the roof. With the other, the
vibe is in the dirt. And I don't think if
you think neither.
Speaker 3 (54:42):
One would want to switch places with the other. We'll
get to that.
Speaker 2 (54:46):
And just admitted it's a divisional matchup. I can't wait
to break this one down because it's just there's so
many funny things about this game, so many, including a little.
Speaker 3 (54:55):

Speaker 2 (55:51):
I just I knew that this season was gonna be special.
This NFL season was gonna be special when before an
offensive snap was played, we had one person getting carted
off and while the person is getting carted off.
Speaker 3 (56:06):
We are having.
Speaker 2 (56:07):
Spit Gate the Hawk to I heard around the world,
Jalen Carter spit on the man, and now we have
the second genervation of Eagles Cowboys that gave a little
bit everything.
Speaker 3 (56:20):
You remember the third quarter rain delay?
Speaker 4 (56:22):
I do, yes, Yeah, it's hard to believe that was
this year. It feels like so long ago.
Speaker 2 (56:28):
Dak Prescott, when asked what do you think he say
to Jalen Carter said something friendly.
Speaker 3 (56:34):
You know now, mon see, I'm.
Speaker 2 (56:38):
A big, big vibes guy, especially the longer I've been
in California. It's like, you know, and now the vibes
are off. I'm getting out of here, you know what
I mean. I'm getting out of here now. Both of
these teams have wide receiver issues. Ceedee Lamb and George
Pickens were both benched to start the last game they played.
Speaker 3 (57:00):
Second they were violated team rules.
Speaker 4 (57:03):
They were out c Lamb, I'll pass you.
Speaker 3 (57:06):
George Pickens mistening the team bus tweets about liquor.
Speaker 4 (57:10):
With social media, saying that Ceedee Lamb was throwing up
at seven thirty in the morning, c.
Speaker 3 (57:14):
Ed Lamb saying, I'll hold it.
Speaker 4 (57:16):
I know that's disrespectful. I know how to hold my
liquor now.
Speaker 2 (57:21):
AJ Brown then was pulled off the practice field this week.
Speaker 3 (57:27):
Reportedly, I wasn't there just reading it, reading the moves.
Speaker 2 (57:31):
Sure pulled off the off the practice field because the
Philadelphia Eagles owner, that's the big boss.
Speaker 3 (57:38):
Said AJ.
Speaker 2 (57:41):
Enough with the tweets, please, no more tweets. A J said, okay, cool,
media came around. AJ said, look, I ain't gonna tweet
about it, but I will tell you everything. I wouldn't
go on tweet, okay anything I was about to tweet,
Just I'll tell you all about it. And you know
what the biggest thing about it is to me, Monsie,
I think AJ's right in what sense in that I
(58:04):
think that their passing game is not dynamic. I think
that if you are a team with Super Bowl aspirations,
you're going to have to have a more dynamic offense,
more sharp offensive play to be able to get through
everything that you need to get to.
Speaker 4 (58:18):
Okay, first of all, shut up, that's what I would.
Speaker 5 (58:21):
Say to A J.
Speaker 12 (58:22):
Brown.
Speaker 3 (58:22):
I thought you were saying it to me, Well, I want.
Speaker 4 (58:24):
To because you're saying but first of all, just won
the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (58:29):
But here's the thing. You have a.
Speaker 4 (58:30):
Record that says you're doing just fine, So why are
you bitching so much?
Speaker 3 (58:37):
Now?
Speaker 2 (58:37):
See this is why I say the Cowboys have an
under five hundred record with the tie. The Eagles are
like have a prohibitive take on in one seat right now,
and neither of which, Like, you know, the vibees way.
Speaker 4 (58:51):
Better in Dallas, It really does say better in Dolls.
Really does seem that way, Like they're getting in a groove.
I know they just beat the Raiders, but like it
seems like they're getting in a groove and the vibes
are high in Dallas, while the vibes in Philadelphia are questionable.
I'm sorry, questionable at best. I don't like. Maybe what's
really annoying me about AJ Brown is what he just
(59:13):
said recently when they asked him, like, what are what
do you have to say about reports though you're not
the same player? And that Then he says, I guess
Saquan is it the same player? Boy? Why why is
he cadgy straight?
Speaker 3 (59:22):
So no, no, no, no, you did not need to say
his name.
Speaker 4 (59:26):
I don't care.
Speaker 3 (59:28):
But the reason why Tom Barkley.
Speaker 4 (59:29):
Is not the same trust me, my fantasy team is
experiencing it.
Speaker 5 (59:32):
We all we all see it the output.
Speaker 2 (59:34):
That's that's his point. In my opinion, the point that
he's making is this. He said, do you feel like
you're not the same player?
Speaker 3 (59:41):
He said, I'm asking you about you. You did not say,
I get it.
Speaker 2 (59:44):
There's a big parenttheing, like the understood you like when
you say, go pick take out the trash, right, the
understanding is like I'm telling you to.
Speaker 3 (59:52):
Take out the trash. To say you take out there's a.
Speaker 2 (59:54):
Lot in the of course I'm the same player. My
stats aren't the same. I guess is not the same
player either, right, But he's like, of course I'm still
an All Pro player.
Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
I just haven't had the output.
Speaker 4 (01:00:08):
What you just doesn't make a difference. Well, if you
were trying to justify the comment, it didn't help in
my opinion.
Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
Look, just because A. J.
Speaker 2 (01:00:18):
Brown is the same guy he has been for the
last three seasons. True, the difference was in Philadelphia to
me has been obviously the offensive coordinators.
Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
Each three years.
Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
The difference if you look at the last three seasons
for the Philadelphia Eagles and I get it, maybe I'm
cutting off to four. Then the last four seasons because
people might say that's unfair. Go back to the year
they lost the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs, right,
things were going well that year, things were going Shane
Steichen gets hired away and Jonathan Gannet gets hired away.
(01:00:52):
That's why I specify the last three seasons, because those
two guys get hired as head coaches and now we've
seen their relative successful failures up to this point. But
that is when this kind of carousel of coordinators started.
Since then, the Eagles fell off the cliff in the
second half of last and the first that first year
with new coordinators lost to Tampa in the wildcard round
(01:01:13):
in a situation in which the vibes were horrendous. That
in the year after that, they second half of the year,
AJ Brown is reading self help books on the sideline
because he he's like, I don't even say, struggling with
his targets or whatever, but whatever, he needs to read
his self help books for He's reading how help.
Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
Books on the sideline.
Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
And this year, guess what AJ Brown is not happy
with what's going on is the like, to me, the
idea that is just all like nobody ever stops to
consider in my opinion that if Saquon Barkley hadn't rushed
for damn near two thousand yards and that in between
(01:01:57):
years that they won the Super Bowl, this all was
have been the same last year, like they didn't have
that dynamic running attack, as dynamic of a running attack
and honestly the biggest thing of it all, I think
much like much like the half of America sitting there
looking at Jalen Hurts, who is has the is fourteenth
off the most rushing touchdowns in NFL history, right, Cam
(01:02:20):
Newton and Josh Allen are tied for seventy fifth, I believe,
and Jalen Hurts is sixty fifth, sixty one, seventy five
and sixty one.
Speaker 4 (01:02:28):
He's right there.
Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
But when you look at Jalen Hurts, is he one
of the best rushing quarterbacks of all time?
Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
To you? No?
Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
Maybe, just maybe they're all fed up with the idea
that we have this gimmick ass play that we run
all the time that basically I get won us to
Super Bowl. But now teams are stopping it. Now teams
are stopping it, and we are not necessarily stopping the touchbus.
Teams are stopping our office to where we're not getting
to the third and two's that we used to be.
And now I just feel like this day idea that
(01:02:58):
he's talking is not necessarily the Like, we have to
evaluate what he's actually saying in some of this and
understand there's a truth to it.
Speaker 4 (01:03:07):
You've lost two games, Like I hear what you're saying.
If we would be talking a year removed from you
winning the super Bowl where you had or where you
guys just completely fell off and don't even make the playoffs, okay,
but you're you're winning, And so if we want to
keep this simple instead of like making it more complicated,
(01:03:30):
the truth of the matter is like AJ Brown, you
don't care about winning. You care about your stats, and
that's it.
Speaker 3 (01:03:37):
I don't think that's the case.
Speaker 4 (01:03:38):
How is your winning?
Speaker 5 (01:03:39):
You're winning?
Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
Yeah, I think that there's a difference between saying like
we are there are a team. There will be twelve
teams in the NFL that win tomorrow. All twelve of
those teams are not winning teams.
Speaker 3 (01:03:53):
I understand that the Eagles.
Speaker 2 (01:03:54):
Right now have a winning record and all of that,
but when I look at them compared to their level
of talent, they are clearly in my opinion underachieving. And
I think the point that the AJ Brown is attempting
to make you is that when you look at the
offense that we have in terms of that's the just
on salary and because one of the highest payed offenses
(01:04:15):
in general, but it's on output. We're not consistent. We
have big halves, we have halves where we score no points.
If the Lions hadn't had if the Lions had just.
Speaker 3 (01:04:25):
Kicked two field goals instead of going.
Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
For it five times and faking them, you know what
I'm saying, Like that game is not the same game.
They're winning games in spite of their offense and not
winning games because of their offense. And to me, I
think what AJ Brown would tell you, and I believe
this could be true of football teams that are true
championship contenders. I think is a big part of the
reason why we're having such trouble identifying what we would
(01:04:49):
define to be a true championship contender in the AFC
is because a true championship contender can win a game
on offense or on defense. They can win a game
thirteen to seven, or they can win a game thirty
eight to thirty five.
Speaker 3 (01:05:02):
The Eagles cannot win thirty eight to thirty five right now.
Speaker 4 (01:05:05):
No, they cannot. But the Eagles could win the Super
Bowl again.
Speaker 3 (01:05:08):
Right that's in the realm of possibility.
Speaker 4 (01:05:11):
That's in the realm's and that's I think that's the
whole thing. It's like, we're you're acting like your team
still cannot win. And if you're mad and annoyed, I
I sympathize with you. But all you do is complain
and you have your antics every single time, like it
gets exhausting, it gets tiring, And I don't I don't
like that he said what he said about Saquon Barkley,
(01:05:33):
even though it's true. It's kind of like you're the
one that has brought all this attention. The vibes are
down because of your because of what you're doing. How
are the vibes gonna get any better when you're throwing
your teammate under the bus?
Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
I don't, I really, I do not think that he's
throwing a sac If you're doing anybody under the bus,
is Jalen hurts to me?
Speaker 3 (01:05:51):
In my opinion, he's doing anybody's Jalen.
Speaker 2 (01:05:54):
If you're doing anybody under the bus, I really, I
just view that comment, I'm trying to get bogged down.
Speaker 4 (01:05:59):
And you may and I hear what you're saying, that
you're right, he may be actually throwing more of a
bus of a throwing more shade to Jalen Hurts and
maybe and maybe that's what he's trying to do. But
my guy, it's not. It doesn't It doesn't matter because
your team's winning.
Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
The final thing I'll say on this, I think that
one of the things that we have true things. And
I don't want to just cut you off after this, but.
Speaker 4 (01:06:19):
The no, no, this is nothing else to say.
Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
No, I was just I know we gotta get Steve
and we're way behind all this. And I know also too,
you want to talk about James Harden as well. So
that's saying I'm not trying to steal your throat to
tell your time.
Speaker 4 (01:06:31):
I can talk about James Harden for a whole hour.
Speaker 2 (01:06:33):
I think that one of the things that we are
not paying attention to in this in this stretch of
Eagle this particular year, because Eagles were all about flushing
this year, are flushing last year. After start of this year,
they didn't go out for the ring ceremony all that
it's all about this year, there's been so much more
of a focus on how do we get Saquon Barkley
going to me? As opposed to like, how do we
(01:06:55):
get Saquon going? AJ should shut up? And I think
that Saquon has not been there like A. J. Brown's
has been there for much longer. He was one of
the foundational building blocks of that Super Bowl team. To me,
where Saquon, while incredibly important to that team obviously the
Super Bowl run, like he hadn't built up the equity
in the locker room that AJ Brown had over the
(01:07:16):
last four years prior.
Speaker 3 (01:07:17):
I think that that matters too.
Speaker 4 (01:07:18):
Is that equity as good anying that he has all
these antics that didn't just start this year.
Speaker 2 (01:07:23):
I think, you know, next week, next week, because I
want to do this for real, because we'll see what
happens in this game he was Cowboys. Actually the Cowboys win,
But next week, I want to play a game. I'm
in my game bag. I got a game coming up
with the Browns quarterbacks. I want to play a game.
Jalen Hurts quote or not, because when you really break
down some of the things that Jalen Hurts are saying
after some of these performances.
Speaker 3 (01:07:44):
If I was an all Pro.
Speaker 2 (01:07:45):
Wide receiver too, I'd be like, shut up, stop it,
you annoying me.
Speaker 4 (01:07:51):
And they used to be friends. I know they used
to be really close friends. According to reports.
Speaker 2 (01:07:55):
This is one of the things my daddy always tells me.
Don't go into business with your friends. Yes, I think
this is probably what.
Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
Steve de Seger.
Speaker 2 (01:08:01):
We were in business before we were friends, so I
think we still qualify.
Speaker 3 (01:08:05):
We're good to go.
Speaker 9 (01:08:06):
That is whise sage advice, and we all learned that
from an I Love Lucy episode just for the rink.
Speaker 3 (01:08:11):
Don't do business with friends, really don't.
Speaker 9 (01:08:13):
Meanwhile, a pick six for pitt Georgia Tech is trailing
at home thirty five fourteen to Pittsburgh in the third quarter,
and sixteenth ranked Georgia Tech will be going to the
ACC title game with a win. But they fell behind
twenty eight nothing second quarter in this one. They just
allowed the one hundred yard pick six. This would be
(01:08:33):
lost number two in conference for Georgia Tech. Pitt only
has one conference loss. Virginia only has one conference loss.
For that matter, SMU only has one conference loss. Somewhat
of a shocker, Pittsburgh thirty five fourteen and the lead
in the third quarter at Georgia Tech. Number twenty Tennessee
with a thirty one nothing halftime lead at Florida, looks
(01:08:55):
like the Gators will go to two and six in conference.
Wisconsin is scored again. Badger's at home ahead of number
twenty one Illinois seventeen to seven in the third and
on Fox TV final minute before halftime. Eleventh ranked BYU
leads at Cincinnati ten to seven. Twenty fifth ranked Arizona
State leads at Colorado ten to seven late in the
first half. Number one Ohio State still undefeated after beating
(01:09:19):
Rutgers forty two to nine. Buckey's led seven to three
late in the first half. Bo Jackson that's his name,
nineteen carries one hundred ten yards, two touchdowns, one fumble.
Next Saturday on Fox TV, Ohio State at Michigan noon
Eastern time. In two weeks, the Big Ten Championship game
in Indianapolis, Indiana. Number three Texas A and M is
(01:09:42):
still undefeated after scheduling Samford today forty eight nothing the final.
It's not Stanford, by the way, Samford. Stanford has a
couple of fumble returns for touchdown to lead rival Cal
fourteen to ten as they start the second half.
Speaker 3 (01:09:57):
In the Bay Area.
Speaker 9 (01:09:58):
Samford as a team thirty one carries thirty one yards rushing,
three first downs all day at A and M, three
and twelve punts. Number four Georgia thirty five three winners
against Charlotte, which is one in ten. Remember when North
Carolina beat Charlotte early season, they say, hey win for Belichick.
Here we no, Charlotte is one and ten. They lost
(01:10:20):
to North Carolina twenty to three early in the season.
They were down twenty eight nothing in the second quarter
at Georgia. Today at number seven, Oregon Ducks beat usc
forty two to twenty seven. Ducks did have eleven penalties
for one hundred thirty yards. At eight th ranked Oklahoma
Sooners defeated Missouri seventeen to six MISSOO three and four
in conference. Oklahoma's lead was just seven to three late
(01:10:41):
in the first half and fourteen to six at halftime.
Combined sixteen punts in that game. Number nine notreed aim
led Syracuse thirty five nothing in the first quarter. Irish
won at seventy to seven. And tenh ranked Alabama scheduled
Eastern Illinois and beat them fifty six nothing. This in
Eastern Illinois team that lost at Lindenwood last week forty
(01:11:04):
two to twelve. So no, they didn't cloak com close
to winning. At Alabama, Eastern Illinois finished four of nine
passing twenty yards rushing as a team thirty carries fourteen
yards on the ground added up thirty four total yards
in four quarters of football.
Speaker 3 (01:11:21):
At Alabama today.
Speaker 9 (01:11:22):
Meanwhile, at twelfth ranked Utah, the final score was fifty
one forty seven, the Utes coming back to beat Kansas State,
which had led with seven minutes to go forty seven
to thirty five. Thirteenth rank Miami won at Virginia Tech
thirty four to seventeen. Fourteenth rank Vanderbilt wins again forty
five seventeen over Kentucky, victories for Texas and Michigan, wins
(01:11:43):
for Tulane and TCU, which despite four turnovers, got a
victory at number twenty three Houston seventeen to fourteen. In
the NBA, the Detroit Pistons have won eleven games in
a row, and the Pistons are winning ninety to sixty
three at Milwaukee. Mid third quarter wins for Atlanta and Orlando,
and the Clippers who won it Charlotte one thirty one
(01:12:05):
to one sixteen. James Harden fifty five points in thirty
five minutes of work from three point range. He was
ten for sixteen.
Speaker 2 (01:12:13):
Back to you, thanks, Steve Martin Wisse Montsey Bolano's coming
to you live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Speaker 3 (01:12:19):
You mentioned Eastern Illinois.
Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
Quick trivia question for anybody who's interested and involved Eastern Illinois.
In the last forty years, he's had three quarterbacks to
started games in the NFL, one of whom is still active,
all of whom will be working tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:12:43):
Any guesses of who those three are?
Speaker 5 (01:12:45):
Steve, Steve.
Speaker 3 (01:12:49):
Mary?
Speaker 10 (01:12:49):
Can we get Steve up is Garoppolo from Eastern.
Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
Jimmy Garoppolo from Eastern Illinois. Was Romo from Tony Romos
from Eastern Illinois.
Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
Been' Sean Payton Grin you're on Payton from Eastern Illinois.
See now that is a quick tea. Pays to read
the media outes.
Speaker 2 (01:13:07):
Because while Eastern Illinois has had three quarterbacks starting in
the NFL, the Cleveland Browns have had forty two.
Speaker 3 (01:13:16):
Are by this time tomorrow we'll.
Speaker 2 (01:13:18):
Have had forty two quarterbacks start in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (01:13:23):
They got the franchise back.
Speaker 4 (01:13:24):
Since nineteen ninety nine nine.
Speaker 2 (01:13:27):
I have collected a handful of trivia questions because I
knew an embarrashing amount of these forty two to where
any other game we tried to play was not gonna
be any fun. I know they all played for I
would like everybody's involvement here because some of these names
are fantastic. I will get to that in just a minute.
Martin Wis's, Moncey Bos, Fox Sports Radio come to you
(01:13:51):
a lot for the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Speaker 3 (01:13:53):
You can put your two cents and all on Twitter.
Speaker 2 (01:13:56):
I'm at Martin Weiss, Moncey's at Monte Bolanos, and Monsei.
Today Syracuse lost seventy to nothing, so seventy seven.
Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
I'm sorry, let me move a short change.
Speaker 4 (01:14:07):
They got on the scoreboard.
Speaker 3 (01:14:08):
Seventy to seven.
Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
They were down twenty one nothing before ever catching the
ball on the offensive side of everything. Fran Brown today,
who is one of the best quotes in college football
if you paying attention to his post games. He's one
of my favorites. He said today. I say one of
my favorites in terms of like he's always going to
(01:14:30):
say something interesting at the podium He's head coaches Syracuse said,
this may sound crazy, but the opportunity of getting the
chance to learn from that and watch that football game,
there's a lot of good I see from that football team.
Speaker 3 (01:14:41):
All my football team to look like that.
Speaker 2 (01:14:44):
And I don't think that sounds that crazy, but it
sounds a lot crazier when he just got whooped by
sixty three points.
Speaker 5 (01:14:50):
At a little bet, a little bit little bet.
Speaker 3 (01:14:54):
But I like Fred Brown.
Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
He's seen I there's I generally root for persononalities and
this more than anything like That's why I told you
at the beginning of the year, I didn't know that
Indiana was gonna run off what they ran off. I
just like you would like Kurt Signette, like you just
like the way he talks, You like the way.
Speaker 3 (01:15:11):
You get Fran Brown. I hope he wins because I
like the way he talks. Sure, you know what I'm saying.
I would like it.
Speaker 4 (01:15:15):
You like the person, you're rooting for the person.
Speaker 2 (01:15:17):
I'm rooting for the person. This is also true for
shir George Sanders. I'm rooting for the person. And also
too because the chill that I felt in my spine
when Josh Allen on Thursday night, gripped at his hand,
was is something that I don't I don't ever want
to feel again. And I felt that because the reality
has felt that because I'm the quarterback carousel in the
NFL is is so violent and dangerous and just something
(01:15:41):
we're all exposed to, especially if you've been in Cleveland
forty two starting quarterbacks since nineteen ninety nine.
Speaker 3 (01:15:49):
So I figured a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:15:51):
There are There are more than thirty different trivia questions
that I have come up with in which multiple of
the forty two couterbacks qualify as answers. I'd like to
play a little game now, Cleveland Quarterback Trivia. I could
have come up with a better name, Cleveland Who Cleveland
Quarterback Trivia.
Speaker 3 (01:16:10):
There we go.
Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
You know what, They've been so bad they don't deserve
a better name. But I would like to petition my
current audience here in the studios at Fox Sports Radio.
There are at least three quarterbacks who start for the
Cleveland Brown says nineteen ninety nine, who were number one
overall draft picks in the NFL draft. See Steve de
(01:16:31):
Seger says, Tim couch monsterd you have one as.
Speaker 16 (01:16:33):
Well, Baker Mayfield, Baker Mayfield, anybody he can we get.
Speaker 3 (01:16:36):
Let's do this as a family. Come on, and you
have someone.
Speaker 6 (01:16:40):
I'm trying to rattle. Those were the two that I knew,
But I'm trying to rattle through what the.
Speaker 5 (01:16:43):
Other one would be? What quarterback?
Speaker 3 (01:16:46):
Would you like a hint?
Speaker 2 (01:16:48):
Sure he is starting this weekend. Not for Cleveland, but
he is starting this weekend.
Speaker 4 (01:16:53):
Oh, not for Cleveland, but he's starting this weekend.
Speaker 3 (01:16:58):
Going once, going twice?
Speaker 5 (01:17:01):
Oh wait, wow, no, no, no, it's not.
Speaker 3 (01:17:04):
Jameis Winston for number one.
Speaker 6 (01:17:07):
Overall pick, but not by them, but not by them whatever.
Speaker 4 (01:17:11):
That's where he Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:17:12):
I was like who, I almost said to Rod Taylor,
and I was like, no, orright say that?
Speaker 2 (01:17:17):
No, not a number one pick? Then, So go back
in time a little bit, a little stretch. There are one, two,
three for five players who have started for the Cleveland Browns,
that quarterback who have won a Super Bowl ring obviously
none of them in Cleveland. All of these they won
as players, some starters, some backup. How many of these
(01:17:38):
five can we name?
Speaker 3 (01:17:42):
I didn't think that was possible.
Speaker 5 (01:17:44):
Five five, I'm not I'm.
Speaker 4 (01:17:47):
Searching, So can I search something else? Before I don't
want to give the wrong answer.
Speaker 3 (01:17:50):
Look, give the wrong answers a game.
Speaker 4 (01:17:52):
What are we doing is what RG three?
Speaker 3 (01:17:56):
RG three did not win a Super Bowl.
Speaker 6 (01:18:00):
Yeah, one of these guys they have won it as
a backup.
Speaker 3 (01:18:05):
Or they won as a backup. I will give a hit.
Speaker 2 (01:18:07):
One famously won it as a backup, and also Bonus
won the Super Bowl as a head coach.
Speaker 10 (01:18:14):
It wasn't Kenny Pickett on the Browns. Did he ever start?
Speaker 3 (01:18:16):
Kenny Pickett didn't? Did he start for the Browns last
year because he got a ring last year?
Speaker 14 (01:18:21):
Right? No?
Speaker 5 (01:18:22):
I think he got traded in the off.
Speaker 2 (01:18:23):
He did not ever start a game, right, he was
with Philadelphia, traded and then now is a raiding.
Speaker 3 (01:18:28):
He was just a.
Speaker 2 (01:18:29):
Camp all right. Trent Dilford started for the Browns and
won a Super Bowl as a player. Doug Peterson started
a game for the Browns, won a Super Bowl as
a backup and as.
Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
A head coach.
Speaker 2 (01:18:40):
Joe Flacoff started game this year for the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 3 (01:18:43):
Had won a Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (01:18:45):
Tyron Taylor has won a Super Bowl as a backup,
and Jacobe Brissett as as a backup.
Speaker 3 (01:18:52):
All right, At.
Speaker 2 (01:18:53):
Least three quarterbacks have started for the Cleveland Browns. We
have also started regular season games for another AFC North team.
Speaker 3 (01:19:02):
Can we guess who they are?
Speaker 5 (01:19:04):
Well, one's Joe Flacco exactly about to.
Speaker 3 (01:19:06):
Say this one should be relatively.
Speaker 10 (01:19:07):
Easy because at this point pretty much.
Speaker 3 (01:19:12):
The other.
Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
Famously won the job over a number one overall pick
on hard knocks.
Speaker 3 (01:19:21):
Hugh Jackson gave him the job.
Speaker 2 (01:19:24):
See this is why, this is why, this is why
I win these, Tyrod Taylor, thank you very much.
Speaker 3 (01:19:31):
Okay, let's see, let's go down a little bit further.
Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
All right, here's one, There is one, two, three for
five quarterbacks who have started for the Cleveland Browns who
played college football in the state of Texas.
Speaker 3 (01:19:43):
Several of them have been named already in this last
three minutes.
Speaker 5 (01:19:46):
Baker Mayfield.
Speaker 2 (01:19:47):
Boom, there we go. Moncey, you had one earlier. Boom,
there we go. One of the more famous. How about
this the team that he plays for, Deshaun Watson Clumson.
The team that this quarterback played for beat Samford today
forty eight to nothing. This guy had a star wide
(01:20:09):
receiver who we talked about, who's played his entirety of
his career at Tampa Bay thank you. The other two
you guys won't remember, case kedem at Coult McCoy.
Speaker 3 (01:20:18):
Alright, let's yet. We've got a couple. Okay, here's a
nice one we should be able to rattle along. There
are one two.
Speaker 2 (01:20:26):
About ten quarterbacks drafted in the first round who started
for the Browns Lightning round.
Speaker 3 (01:20:31):
Anybody go Brady Quinn, Yes, yes, our.
Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
Friend Trent Dill for there we go, Baker Mayfield, Baker Mayfield.
There we go, RG three boom. Can we get all
of them? Cool on, we can get all of them.
We've set all of their names except for.
Speaker 3 (01:20:45):
One ten out.
Speaker 5 (01:20:46):
Yes, Tyrod was not a first round pick.
Speaker 2 (01:20:47):
Tyro was not a first round pick. All right, come
on in five seconds left? All right, this is Jason Campbell,
branded Whedon, Baker Mayfield, Deshaun Watson, Jameis Winston.
Speaker 3 (01:20:58):
Listen, Fox Sports.
Speaker 2 (01:21:01):
That's right, and we're here on a Fox Sports football Saturday.
You know it's a good thing we're here because the
sty Sea shirt didn't show up. Thanks for coming, guys, Texasdays.
I guess so for everybody a little early before Thanksgiving. Yeah,
Lane Kiffin may show up in Gainesville. He may show
up in Baton, rouge. We only know one place he'll be.
(01:21:24):
He'll be coaching the egg bull, in which the first
question after.
Speaker 3 (01:21:28):
Will be so Lane staying or going? No matter what happens,
what if they lose?
Speaker 2 (01:21:35):
How funny would it be if the Friday after thanks shiving,
Mississippi State just comes out forty six to seven. Yeah,
just cow bells just going nuts, and lanes walking out like, yeah,
I just made ninety million dollars. Yeah, some people get
all the luck. Speaking of luck, I've had none of
(01:21:58):
it when it comes to this, Monci, I would say,
is lucky, but you're just flatly good at this. All right,
let's go ahead and make some picks. She'd make your
faces stop.
Speaker 6 (01:22:08):
Seven six seven seven, Oh right, guys, get into the
six seven.
Speaker 2 (01:22:12):
I would just like to say, parents everywhere, congratulations. Your
kids will never say it again. It is now officially dead.
Speaker 6 (01:22:18):
We did it, guys, We did it. We made it,
made it not cool anyway, ladies and gentlemen, we got
it all right. But yeah, just to update you guys
from last week, Week eleven. Obviously, Steve was in for
Martin last week, but we still got both your guys' picks. Moncey,
you went two and three, Martin, you went three and two.
So on the season, Moncy, you are now twenty five
and twenty one. Martin, you are now twenty three and
(01:22:42):
twenty three.
Speaker 3 (01:22:43):
Yes's I like to call it five hundred.
Speaker 5 (01:22:45):
Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 6 (01:22:47):
So, uh, let's see how you guys do this week.
Let's start with this. The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to
Chicago to take on the Bears. The Bears are favored
as the home team by two and a half points.
What do you think, Moncy? Will start with you?
Speaker 3 (01:23:00):
All right?
Speaker 4 (01:23:02):
This one is an interesting one. You know, the Bears
have not been terrible, right, They've they've they've been they've
been winning. They have an I think twenty two takeaways
in the NFL so far this season. I think like
fifteen interceptions. But but I but there's moments where I
(01:23:23):
don't like it. Now they are playing at home, They're
playing against the Steelers, who I also like. They're playing,
they're playing well. I don't know what's going on with
his wrist. If Aaron Rodgers is playing or.
Speaker 2 (01:23:32):
Not questionable with a small fracture. I said, that seems
like small to the person that doesn't have any correct.
Speaker 5 (01:23:38):
Correct, correct, you know, what.
Speaker 4 (01:23:42):
I'm gonna take the Bears. I think the Bears will cover.
Speaker 3 (01:23:45):
I too, am going with the Bears because here's the thing.
The Bears see they running the ball. They running the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:23:51):
They got the better, the best running offenses in football,
and the Staelers they can't stop the run and save
their life.
Speaker 3 (01:23:56):
They got all these old guys out there, cam here,
Darius slay Jay can't stop to run. Give me the
Bears to cover.
Speaker 12 (01:24:02):
Ah.
Speaker 6 (01:24:03):
So if Aaron Rodgers is or isn't playing, does that
change what you guys think in this game or now? Air?
Speaker 3 (01:24:08):
I think they don't talk like this unless he plays.
That's why I think he is.
Speaker 4 (01:24:11):
Yeah, but he's obviously injured a little bit, like he's
a little a little bit small fractures, small fractures like
a minor gunshot wound.
Speaker 6 (01:24:18):
He has historically, we all know he's historically owned the
Bears franchise. But he's old and creaky now. So this
could be their get back game and we'll see though.
But next up, Indianapolis Colts going two arrowhead to take
on the Chiefs. The Chiefs at home are favored by
three and a half points. We'll start with you this
time Martin, What do you think so.
Speaker 2 (01:24:36):
The last stands, it's the final Hurrah, the Chiefs circle
the wagons and get the Colts.
Speaker 3 (01:24:43):
I don't know. I ran out of analogies. I think
the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (01:24:45):
Actually come out and win this game by double digits.
The Chiefs, when they play good teams, have played well.
It's the bad teams you gotta worry about.
Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
It's the road.
Speaker 2 (01:24:55):
So I actually think the Chiefs win this game by
ten and we have a whole big conversation about Daniel zones,
which ultimately will molten nothing as the Chiefs will continue
to be the wild card and the Colts win the division.
Speaker 4 (01:25:05):
Monty, you know, I have been believing that the Chiefs
are back, and then they've like let me down. They've
let me down, so I have no reason to believe
that they could come out and crush the way you're saying.
I do think the Chiefs swin, but I think the
Colts keep it close. I'm gonna take the Colts to cover.
I think the Chiefs win, but it's gonna be like
(01:25:25):
they win by a field goal.
Speaker 3 (01:25:26):
I'm fully not a believer in the Chiefs, by the way,
I just believe them.
Speaker 4 (01:25:29):
You just in this one totally. I just I actually
have believed in them and then they've underperformed. So I'm
just like, I think they win, but I don't see
them winning by a lot. So I'll take the Colts
to cover, all right.
Speaker 6 (01:25:40):
Next up, the Philadelphia Eagles are going to Jerry's World
to take on the Cowboys. Eagles as the road team
are favored by three points here, so a field goal.
Speaker 5 (01:25:48):
But we'll start with you this time, MANSI who you got?
Speaker 3 (01:25:52):
All right?
Speaker 4 (01:25:53):
We were just talking about this game and the Eagles
lack of offense, which is a real thing. You're not
gonna beat a lot of teams when you just score seven, ten, thirteen,
sixteen points. They're not gonna beat a lot of teams.
And the vibes. I'm with you, Martin. I think the
vibes are drastically better in Dallas, where Dak Prescott has
a great record when it comes to a divisional game
(01:26:15):
at home, Dak Prescott, I don't know what it is.
It is what twenty two and like three or something
like that.
Speaker 5 (01:26:20):
I think I saw it's like nineteen straight.
Speaker 4 (01:26:22):
Yeah, Like he's so good at home for sure. I
am taking the Cowboys to cover.
Speaker 3 (01:26:30):
I too, am taking the Dallas Cowboys. Here's the fun one.
Speaker 2 (01:26:34):
A lot of times you can look at this as
who's got the better head coach quarterback combination?
Speaker 5 (01:26:39):
Who does who does?
Speaker 3 (01:26:40):
In this game?
Speaker 14 (01:26:41):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:26:41):
Who does? That's so nasty? Think about Didix.
Speaker 2 (01:26:44):
Jon's got the third highest winning percentage in the NFL history.
And you know, we don't know that's the whole point
given the Cowboys to cover this thing. Yeah, I just
think their offense will reign supreme and that's.
Speaker 3 (01:26:54):
A problem for Philly. All right.
Speaker 6 (01:26:56):
Next up Tampa Bay going to so far to take
on the Rams. This is uh one of the better
games of the week. We've been previewing it all show.
But the Rams are favored by seven points in this game,
by seven? Yeah, by seven? So what do you think, Monci?
Is that too much or what do you think you got?
Speaker 4 (01:27:10):
I'm telling you, I think the Bucks are going to
go in there and try and run the ball a
lot more than letting Baker Mayfield air it out until
maybe the end, because I think They're gonna try and
keep Matthew Stafford off the field as much as possible.
The Bucks also, like have a good defense. I don't
I don't see the Rams winning by eight. I'm gonna
take Tampa to cover.
Speaker 3 (01:27:31):
I think this is a low scoring game. Mm hmmmm.
Speaker 2 (01:27:34):
And I think I'll take Tampa to cover as well.
The thing that does concern me, though, is that those
illnesses is not it's not nothing like it's to me. Yes,
this is a game where I'm not making any excuses.
But if Tampa comes out and gets blown off the ball,
I think we could point to I don't think they
all have head colds.
Speaker 4 (01:27:51):
Sure, yeah, yeah, you can't have everybody and you're.
Speaker 5 (01:27:54):
Flying across the country.
Speaker 3 (01:27:55):
That's what I say, bro, I had a head colt
two weeks ago. I didn't want to do anything right.
Speaker 6 (01:27:59):
Sing in your own it's one thing, but you're playing
across the country, you know, Yeah whatever, you know what
I'm saying. Last game here, Carolina Panthers going to San
Francisco to take on the forty nine Ers.
Speaker 5 (01:28:09):
Forty nine Ers are also favored by seven points in
this one. Martin, who you got?
Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
I'm gonna go that's too many points. That's nasty, dude.
I don't like this at all.
Speaker 4 (01:28:19):
I don't like it.
Speaker 3 (01:28:20):
Yeah, I don't like this one bit.
Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
Although again, this is you want to be really nasty
in Monzi's gonna crnch who's.
Speaker 3 (01:28:26):
Got the better head coach quarterback combination? We know who
the better head coaches.
Speaker 4 (01:28:29):
Listen, don't be talking about our little brother like that.
Speaker 3 (01:28:31):
I was your little brother.
Speaker 5 (01:28:34):
It's like Brock or Bryce is what you're Asking'll just say.
Speaker 2 (01:28:37):
Like, yeah, you know it is like, you know, is
it Brock to back Party? You know, Brock Jones back party.
You know, it's kind of the same thing.
Speaker 6 (01:28:44):
To me.
Speaker 5 (01:28:44):
I'll take a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:28:46):
Come on, come on, you saw it the minute he
came back. Okay, doesn't matter, We're not talking about that.
Speaker 2 (01:28:51):
Rock Party did play well, but I think I'll take
Give me the seven points is a lot for a
Shan team. I'm taking it, though.
Speaker 4 (01:28:58):
You're taking forty nine ers, car, I'm taking forty nine er.
This is the first This is the first time the
Panthers are seeing Christian McCaffrey, no since trading him. Is
this the Christian.
Speaker 6 (01:29:11):
McCaffrey interesting off the remember Revenge game? Does he seemed
particularly vengeful to you guys?
Speaker 4 (01:29:17):
He does not. He really does not, and he is
he has been. His numbers are under but he has
been successful for the forty nine ers so far. Seven
seems like a lot. It seems like a lot. I
do love me some Bryce Young. You know what, Yeah,
give me the Panthers to cover it?
Speaker 3 (01:29:36):
Why not?
Speaker 4 (01:29:36):
Why not?
Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
That's the devil on your shoulder right there.
Speaker 4 (01:29:39):
That is trying to even us out do some atomic dogs.
Speaker 3 (01:29:43):
Let's do it. Let's recap these.
Speaker 6 (01:29:45):
Let's recap. So Martin, you picked the Bears over the Vikings. Yeah,
not surprised you want to not recap Moncey your Lions
over Eagles?
Speaker 3 (01:29:55):
Pick? Did not?
Speaker 4 (01:29:55):
He not even a little bit.
Speaker 5 (01:29:58):
But well done Martin this week.
Speaker 6 (01:29:59):
And just to remind the listeners before we get into
this week's Atomic Dogs and Atomic dog is, you guys
each pick one underdog this week in the NFL to
win outright, So this week, who are your guys atomic dogs?
Speaker 3 (01:30:12):
You want to go? First? Ladies?
Speaker 4 (01:30:14):
First, I think you and I both want to take
the Cowboys here, but I'm gonna pick a different one.
But because I do think the Cowboys win, I really,
but I'm gonna take a different one just because I
know we both like that one. So let's let's spice.
Speaker 12 (01:30:24):
It up here.
Speaker 3 (01:30:25):
So kind, yeah, so generous?
Speaker 4 (01:30:27):
Yeah yeah, great, Yeah, let's make it different. I I
don't understand how Jacksonville is favored in Arizona.
Speaker 16 (01:30:34):
I guess Kobe, yes, let's go is now his jersey
is in can't Ohio for the most completed you know,
uh throw a receptions in a game?
Speaker 4 (01:30:46):
Because what did he fifty seven?
Speaker 5 (01:30:47):
Was it last week?
Speaker 4 (01:30:48):
So it's a record for a game, So he's I
just I don't trust the Jaguars. If the Jiggers were
playing the Chargers every single week, then Trevor Lawrence would
be MVP. But I don't. I don't see it, and
I don't Jonathan Gannon isn't gonna just punt the rest
of the season, Like, I just don't see this hobby.
I see Cardinals upsetting at home, beating the Jogs.
Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
Now do you think when Jacoby Brissett started for the
Cleveland Browns he ever thought his jersey would get to Canton, Ohio?
Speaker 4 (01:31:15):
No go figure, Yeah not crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:31:18):
You're absolutely right about my atomic dog. I have been
eyeing this matchup for weeks. Ian knows this. I said
that the Cowboys are due for a run. I love
this Cowboys team.
Speaker 3 (01:31:28):
I don't know why.
Speaker 2 (01:31:29):
I think it's because everybody else when they traded Maca
Parks was like, oh, Jerry's dying.
Speaker 3 (01:31:33):
They're owing the season in. They got like six new
people on defense in the last two weeks. Yeah, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
I think this Cowboys team is dramatically better than they
were four weeks ago. And offensively, they haven't missed the
beat all season. Maybe that Denver game you want to
go to, and I think if this team eventually we'll
look back at the Denver game is the reason why
things went left for this version of the Dallas Cowboys.
But on tomorrow on I expect Dak Prescott to throw
(01:32:02):
a party. I get Jalen Carter missed the first game,
but you know what Jalen Carter is. I get he's
an incredible player, one of the best defensive tackles in football.
He ain't that damn good. They ran left, right, and
center all up and through them at Eagles defense in
Week one. I expect them to be able to do
it again.
Speaker 4 (01:32:17):
And what did they lose by It was it was
a close game.
Speaker 2 (01:32:19):
And you know what, I stand by this, if it
didn't rain, Yeah, the Cowboys were coming back in that
second and they thought they were gonna win that game.
So that is my toom Ic Dog bonus pick because
I'm glad you didn't include this because it shouldn't have
done deserve to be in there. But I just think
as a show we should talk about it. Raiders, Browns,
Cleveland going all the Way to Vegas, Vegas three and
(01:32:41):
a half home favorites Geno Smith, verst Shador Sanders, Pete
Carroll versus Kevin Stefanski, Monzi.
Speaker 3 (01:32:48):
Come on, we got it. We have to pick this game.
Speaker 4 (01:32:50):
We should. I actually, I think the Browns have a
legitimate chance to do it.
Speaker 3 (01:32:55):
Let's go, Let's go, Let's go.
Speaker 4 (01:32:57):
They have a legitimate chance of winning because the Browns
defense is so good.
Speaker 5 (01:33:03):
I'm with you, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (01:33:04):
Like, it's not that it's gonna shauld Door does not
have to do a lot. I'm with you in order
for the Browns to get it.
Speaker 3 (01:33:10):
I'm with you, right listen. I'm with the Viles Garrett.
Speaker 4 (01:33:15):
Yes, but I think Gino is gonna be is gonna
have a rough time.
Speaker 2 (01:33:18):
I think Miles Garrett is eight sacks away from a record.
He might get eight tomorrow, might get eight tomorrow, Okay,
And I think they should. Really it'll be Max Crossey
versus Miles Garrett. Who has the bigger game this is
the winner. I think it'll be Miles Garrett for shir
Door Sanders' career. I hope it is Miles Garrett. But yeah,
I think the Browns win this game.
Speaker 4 (01:33:37):
And we're talking about vibes. I feel like the vibes
in Cleveland are high right now.
Speaker 3 (01:33:43):
The vibes in Vegas, yeah, horns.
Speaker 4 (01:33:46):
Horrendous, but Cleveland's like, all right, let's give this a go.
Speaker 3 (01:33:49):
And you have to make a pick Browns Raiders game
of the week.
Speaker 5 (01:33:53):
I mean, you're both picking the Browns, So I feel
like I have to zag and take the Raiders.
Speaker 3 (01:33:57):
Do you believe that.
Speaker 6 (01:33:59):
It's I have of a toss up in my mind,
So I do to an extent, just because I mean,
if you if you put yourself in Shador's shoes, how
terrifying is it going to be in his first career.
Start to have Max Crosby on the other side. Max
likes to talk. He's gonna be shouting at him all game.
It's a road game, yelebration, which Kyle Hamilton already did.
Speaker 3 (01:34:20):
About to say, Shador may not be scared. This is
what you call perfect timing.
Speaker 4 (01:34:24):
Yeah, I think he's welcoming it.
Speaker 10 (01:34:27):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:34:28):
I hope he's welcoming.
Speaker 4 (01:34:29):
I think he's welcoming it.
Speaker 2 (01:34:30):
We'll see, but I just feel this is why, this
is why the NFL is king, because you know what,
this is the equivalent of This is the equivalent of like, uh.
Speaker 4 (01:34:38):
The Wizard's playing the hornet.
Speaker 2 (01:34:39):
Yeah, yeah, Next, Trailblazers in March, and we're over here,
like I cannot wait to watch it.
Speaker 3 (01:34:44):
Telling up next.
Speaker 2 (01:34:45):
There was a ton of players this Saturday who had
incredible games with Monty's about to tell you the three
best are two of the best and one participation through.
We'll get to that and just a minute, Martin wis
Monty Vanos, Fox Sports Radio. You know, starting this out,
I'm one of these people that hate to talk about
the bubble music when they start, but it's fat It's
very fitting that Seven Nation Army is the song that
(01:35:09):
is going to introduce Moncey Saturday Standouts because there's one
school who plays this song consistently missing from this list.
But now, without further ado, I'm Martin White is doing
here with Manzi Bilanos in his time for Manci's Saturday standouts.
Speaker 4 (01:35:26):
All right, Marin you mentioned it today. There wasn't a
lot of excitement. People kind of just just showed up,
thank you for coming, Lee, which led to some players
having ridiculous numbers. Let's start with the first one.
Speaker 17 (01:35:40):
You've got four water receivers to fourth, the left to
crop back for Papia. On first out, he stepped up
health crowtest one deep walking four.
Speaker 3 (01:35:46):
Richard said he's got it out the five.
Speaker 17 (01:35:49):
It's a touchdown. Feather belts fifty six yards new score
twenty three toad nothing. The Cats can't keep up with it.
Speaker 4 (01:36:01):
Andrew Allen Greta from Learfield on that call, diego Pavia
Martin thirty three of thirty nine, four hundred and eighty
four yards, five touchdowns, hold on. He also had fifteen
carries for forty eight yards and a touchdown, so total
five hundred and thirty two yards, six touchdowns. Vanderbilt improves
to nine in two after defeating Kentucky forty five to seventeen.
Speaker 2 (01:36:22):
Congratulations to Pavia. I'm glad that they passed that injunction
for you. She could play even another yearn other year.
Speaker 4 (01:36:29):
Let's go on to the next one.
Speaker 2 (01:36:31):
Missouri brings four matiir to throw does across the middle,
got Titania hold.
Speaker 3 (01:36:34):
The rud There he goes, picking them up, putting them down.
Speaker 1 (01:36:39):
Isaiah Stana, he's at the ten piece.
Speaker 17 (01:36:41):
At the five Tayter touchdown eighty seven yards.
Speaker 3 (01:36:48):
Had the Sooners laden.
Speaker 4 (01:36:50):
Damn Toby Rowland from Learfield on that call, Satanna hold
on three catches Martin one hundred and nine yards. So
that's all it took and a touchdown. Oklahoma be Missouri
seventy to six. Sooners are now nine and two. Let's
go to number three.
Speaker 3 (01:37:05):
Take this nap.
Speaker 5 (01:37:06):
Hand it to love has a hole up the middle.
Speaker 13 (01:37:07):
Here he goes across the forty now over midfield, hits
the jets of the forty.
Speaker 3 (01:37:11):
Thirty twenty Tenny's gonna go all the way, sharemaiahlive.
Speaker 4 (01:37:16):
He's the best.
Speaker 3 (01:37:17):
Player in the country. Sixty eight yards. What's his third
touchdown of the game? Send that man to New.
Speaker 4 (01:37:26):
York Notre Dame Radio Network. I mean, I love when
you love your team. I'm all about a be a Homer.
I don't care about that. Jeremiah love A carries one
hundred and seventy one yards three touchdowns as a fighting
Irish just crushed Syracuse seventy to seven was the final score,
and then an honorable mention for you.
Speaker 13 (01:37:46):
He the shotgun Manny fakes looks pressure coming, then fire
steek downfield. He's got the on right there, texdown. Texas
wanna playful marriage. Fanny stood there amidst the rush and
the pucket who was sold the rival and then sipped
at forty six yards took the obreak nor.
Speaker 3 (01:38:04):
From a touchdown.
Speaker 4 (01:38:05):
That was Craigway from Learfield on the call. Arch Manning
eighteen of thirty today three hundred and eighty nine yards
on four touchdowns as Texas outscored Arkansas fifty two to
thirty seven to improve to eight and three. But you
are not impressed, shaking your head. You know the true
out that highlight.
Speaker 2 (01:38:21):
This is the Texas quarterback to catch, run, and throw
a touchdown pass in the same game as arch Manning.
Speaker 6 (01:38:29):
Now, I was gonna say that he actually had a
receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown as well, hit a
sixth total.
Speaker 3 (01:38:35):
Did it all?
Speaker 5 (01:38:35):
Martin just shaking his head. He hates arch Manning.
Speaker 3 (01:38:38):
It's not that I hate ars Manning.
Speaker 2 (01:38:40):
It's just that of the guys who were actually freshman
who've made their season debut.
Speaker 3 (01:38:46):
There's one guy's falling out today in a conference game.
Speaker 2 (01:38:51):
You know, I get Arkansas as a conference game too,
but they won two games on the year, goodness gracious,
not impressed.
Speaker 3 (01:38:57):
And the other one.
Speaker 2 (01:38:58):
You know, I blamed Cheron More for all this because
if Michigan should have beat Oklahoma, that Oklahoma team is
so suspect to me, Like, think about it. John Mattereia
had ten completions today, three to one.
Speaker 3 (01:39:11):
Guy what that? What's his name? The second?
Speaker 2 (01:39:15):
This is your second standout? The three catches, Tenna. That
was it for our Oklahoma this whole time. They're gonna
walk into the college football playoffs. Michigan should have beat
us head here.
Speaker 5 (01:39:29):
I got a good defense.
Speaker 3 (01:39:30):
Oh, I got a good defense. I mean I tell
you the game literally, thanks An, thank thanks for that.
You think half the game? He thinks out man, you know,
more groundbreaking analysis like that. After this, I'm just giving
you to kick them.
Speaker 4 (01:39:45):
I'm really close. I can kick them.
Speaker 3 (01:39:47):
She can't kick them.
Speaker 2 (01:39:48):
I'm going to kick it over to Steve de Sheger,
because Steve is going to give us all these blowouts.
I mean, eight carries, one hundred and seventy one yards
and three touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (01:39:58):
It was the most audashed line of the day.
Speaker 2 (01:40:01):
But there are several months, several off stat lines that
are just like rewriting history.
Speaker 3 (01:40:06):
To the point you have to wonder, Steve Deuis, should
we play these games?
Speaker 9 (01:40:08):
You were referring to Jeremiah Love the best player in
the country. End quote, end quote.
Speaker 2 (01:40:13):
There's going to be a real competition between the Fighting
Irish Radio Network and Gus Johnson over who they give
the heisman two.
Speaker 3 (01:40:20):
That it's already been given. People are I got it yesterday.
Speaker 9 (01:40:25):
Lastly, speaking of kicking, if you get good at that
at all, you might want to apply for the job
at the University of Cincinnati because they're zero for three
on field goals tonight, and the Bearcats are losing at
home seventeen to seven to eleventh ranked BYU This is
late third quarter on Fox TV. Twenty fifth ranked Arizona
State leads twenty one fourteen at Colorado. Mid third quarter.
(01:40:46):
Number twenty Tennessee is up thirty one to three at Florida.
Early in the fourth five minutes left in the game.
At Wisconsin, Badgers are leading and have the ball twenty
four to ten over twenty first ranked Illinois and just
two and a half minutes to go. It looks like
Pitt's gonna pull off the upset. They are leading forty
two to twenty eight at sixteenth ranked Georgia Tech, a
(01:41:09):
team that could have clinched a spot in the ACC
title game tonight. Those conference championships just a couple of
weeks away. Stanford has scored again at home. They're leading
rival Cal with ten minutes to go, thirty one to ten.
North Texa is ready to go to ten and one
this year. They're up forty nine twenty four at Rice
with under five minutes to go. Already, James Madison ten
(01:41:31):
and one got to win on our fourth quarter touchdown
against Washington State twenty four to twenty. Tulane is nine
and two, ranked twenty fourth in the country. Tulane wins
at Temple thirty seven to thirteen. Tulane plays in an
NFL stadium in Philadelphia, attendants thirteen thousand for that game.
Speaker 3 (01:41:48):
Going to the fourth.
Speaker 9 (01:41:49):
Quarter at LSU, the Tigers only lead Western Kentucky ten
to three. And then there were the other matchups. For
the team that plays only eight conference games. We had
the Georgia beating Charlotte thirty five to three. Charlotte was
seven first downs eight punts. Georgia had thirty first downs
in the game. Number three Texas A and M still
(01:42:10):
undefeated after beating mighty Semford forty eight to nothing.
Speaker 3 (01:42:14):
Friday.
Speaker 9 (01:42:14):
A and M plays at Texas, but Samford had twelve
punts and three first downs in that game. Number ten
Alabama fifty six nothing over Eastern Illinois, which we mentioned
earlier was a loser last week at Lindenwood that was
forty two to twelve.
Speaker 3 (01:42:32):
I'll just move on.
Speaker 9 (01:42:33):
Number twelve Utah beat Kansas State fifty one forty seven.
The ninth conference game cannot get here soon enough so
that the SEC joins the modern age. Texas beat Arkansas
fifty two to thirty seven. Longhorns only led twenty one
to twenty just before halftime. Wins for Miami and Vanderbilts.
Wins for Michigan and TCU, which won at Number twenty
(01:42:53):
three Houston seventeen fourteen despite TCU's four turnovers. A thranked
Oklahoma over Missouri teen to six. Number seven Oregon beat
USC forty two to twenty seven, and among the games
in progress, I mentioned Stanford has the lead LSU just
starting the fourth quarter. There are three late games just
beginning Washington at UCLA, Utah State at Fresno State, and
(01:43:17):
San Diego State, which is eight and two, is hosting
San Jose State on FS one. In the NBA, Chicago
one twenty one one twenty winners over Washington tonight. The
Wizards have lost fourteen in a row. They're one in
fifteen this season. New Orleans is two and fifteen after
losing a ninth straight game, a home loss to Atlanta
(01:43:38):
one fifteen to ninety eight. Detroit won its twelfth game
in a row of victory at Milwaukee one twenty nine
to one sixteen as the Piston shot sixty three percent
from the floor. Wins for Orlando and for the Clippers,
who got fifty five points from James Harden today. The
Bengals did not activate quarterback Joe Burrow, so Joe Flacco
will start Sunday against the Patriots, who won eight straight.
(01:44:00):
Cincinnati has lost seven of its last eight game. San
Francisco kicker Eddie Pinero out with a hamstring injury. Packers
running back Josh Jacob's a game time decision.
Speaker 3 (01:44:10):
This weekend.
Speaker 9 (01:44:10):
He was limited in practice Friday with a knee injury.
Green Bay will play on Thanksgiving at Detroit.
Speaker 3 (01:44:16):
Back to you, thanks Steve.
Speaker 2 (01:44:17):

The SEC did not show up today, but j D
Pakeel did.
Speaker 2 (01:44:51):
Thank you very much for not scheduling a cupcake and
this week, like most of these other teams did. JD
appreciate you coming on on here, but I do want
to start with the I guess the big game of
the day, if you want to call it as such.
The PAC twelve moved west to Oregon and USC Now
I said the Big ten move west, I should say
(01:45:12):
to Oregon and USC, but Oregon in a game that
wasn't close to me beat USC again, j D, how
are you better than Lincoln Riley today?
Speaker 14 (01:45:23):
Man, Yeah, I'm.
Speaker 12 (01:45:24):
I'm that's one tremendous intro. The music already gets me pumped.
I'll say that no bive weeks around here, man. Even
in when I played college football, it's ten weeks no
bye week in the age and eight, so we're all
gats that breaks over here, man. But yeah, the USC
Oregon game, I feel like I'm missing missing something with
(01:45:44):
the discussion around Oregon relative who everyone else is saying,
like I was surprised they were as low as they
were in the very first rankings, Like I think.
Speaker 14 (01:45:52):
Is one of the best teams in America, I really do.
And I think what happened was they beat Penn State.
Speaker 12 (01:45:58):
Everyone gets hyped, everyone drinking the organ koole like it's
good for him.
Speaker 14 (01:46:02):
And then they go out and they.
Speaker 12 (01:46:03):
Lose to Indiana, which everyone kind of feels some type
of way about, like, oh, is Oregon maybe not actually
that good?
Speaker 14 (01:46:09):
And then you saw the Penn State when aged like
fine milk.
Speaker 12 (01:46:13):
And they lose Northwestern those useless Everyone's like, Okay, so
Oregon must actually not be that good good to know,
whereas I'm like they're.
Speaker 14 (01:46:21):
Deep on both lines of scrimmage.
Speaker 12 (01:46:23):
They have a quarterback who I think is extremely trustworthy.
He's that one bad game as a starter, like Dan
Lanning to certified psychopath. He's like lost seven games his
entire career. There. I think Oregon is much better than
their ranking, much better than their The public discussion is
around the Ducks right now.
Speaker 4 (01:46:39):
All right, so Indiana has a buy this week, we
don't get to see Fernando Mendoza. How does that affect
the Heisman? Especially with the day where Jeremiah Love had
eight carries one hundred and seventy one yards and three touchdowns.
Speaker 12 (01:46:52):
I really think it's going to come down the conference
title weekend.
Speaker 14 (01:46:55):
I really do. Like I think there's so.
Speaker 12 (01:46:57):
Many different almost Heisman matchups if you will that weekend
potentially at least, like I'd be shocked now if we
don't see Ohio State Indiana for the Big Ten title game.
I think saying versus Mendoz will be big time. I
think Ty Simpson versus Marcel Reed and the SEC title
game potentially we big time that A and M played
Alabama That's kind of the tough part for Notre Dame
(01:47:19):
here is they're not going to play on conference title weekend.
And so for Jeremiah Love, now you got one more
audition for the powers that be, as Heisen voters, to
try and make your case. And it's a very vised
based a ward, and I wonder if the vibes will
be potent enough for him with no true like Heisman
moment in November on the table for my guys.
Speaker 2 (01:47:39):
So to help me square this circle, because I got
Pat and Ardoozy last week telling me I don't care
if I lose to Notre Dame by seventy as long
as we beat Pitt, as long as we beat Georgia
Tech what they're in the process of doing right now.
Speaker 3 (01:47:53):
So I guess, good job.
Speaker 2 (01:47:55):
Then Notre Dame goes and actually beat the team by
nearly seventy. But I feel like the Notre Dame experience
that we saw against Syracuse is directly related to Miami,
like the numbers of all of this, and the game's
mattering more than I I I'm just the noted day
Miami thing. I'm watching Pitt play. They're up big on
(01:48:16):
Georgia Tech. They just help me out with this Notre
Dame Miami thing.
Speaker 12 (01:48:22):
So here's what I understand to be the case when
it comes to the committee in the Notre Dame Miami discussion.
The way the committee ranks teams, they rank them in
these different what they call comparative pools.
Speaker 14 (01:48:32):
So they rank these teams.
Speaker 12 (01:48:33):
I would guess it's in like groups of four or
five teams. They're very vague about that, but they have
comparative pools, and they say, Okay, we think these teams.
Speaker 14 (01:48:42):
Are about as good as each other.
Speaker 12 (01:48:43):
We're gonna keep going one group.
Speaker 14 (01:48:44):
We'll rank y'all together, move on to the next pool.
Speaker 12 (01:48:47):
The way the committee is communicating right now, they think
that Miami, based on their losses, is in a different
comparative pool than Notre Dame. The reason why this matters
if Miami keeps winning, you would assume and they would
eventually arrive in the same comparative pool as Notre Dame,
with Miami being ranked thirteen last week and Notre Dame
being at nine.
Speaker 14 (01:49:06):
So once they get to the same pool with.
Speaker 12 (01:49:08):
The resort, then the committee says, okay, at that point,
now we take head to head into a more heavily
accounted part of our process, so at that point then
Notre Dame would be ahead of Miami.
Speaker 14 (01:49:21):
So I think the committee is sort.
Speaker 12 (01:49:23):
Of biting their nails here and hoping Miami doesn't jump
up into the same comparative pool.
Speaker 14 (01:49:28):
By continuing to win.
Speaker 12 (01:49:29):
I get the thought of, well, hey, their losses are
worse and Notre Dame's losses aren't as bad. But at
a certain point here it might just be kind of
an uncomfortable conversation trying to explain why Notre Dame gets
jumped by Miami on selection Sunday now full transparency, I
think that you probably have to put them both in
and somebody else gets bumped.
Speaker 14 (01:49:48):
Just talking about it. But that to me is how
I understand the logic of the.
Speaker 12 (01:49:52):
Committee to be with how they're ranking these teams so far.
Speaker 4 (01:49:56):
Jad, were you impressed at all by arch Manning today?
Total of six touchdo downs under his belt. Because my
partner here, Martin.
Speaker 3 (01:50:03):
Not let me let me, let me let me say
my case at all.
Speaker 2 (01:50:07):
I'll state my case arch Manning comparative to what I
was told, has been so underwhelming that in a moment
when he goes out and beach two win Arkansas I
don't care very much like when we had. I made
the comparison this earlier in the show. I think on
Thursday night, Josh Allen cost the Bills the game. I
(01:50:28):
think he's the reason they lost. All the conversations they
need more help, they need more help. He's the reason
they lost the game. He's also the reason they win
a ton of games. I'm not gonna kill him for it.
He's the reason they lost. Arch Manning has played okay
throughout the remainder of the season since that Ohio State debacle,
but I have trouble saying he's the reason or has
been the reason they've won the games that they have
(01:50:50):
won in a big fashion, which is why I don't
care that he played well today because a terrible team.
Speaker 12 (01:50:58):
The arch Manning discussion is so tricky because we are
grading him off of just what you said, Martin. A
bunch of people that saw arch Manning hype, saw dollar signs,
saw clicks, and they're like, I'll take a take a
dive into that pool.
Speaker 14 (01:51:11):
I'll go ahead and put him as.
Speaker 12 (01:51:13):
The number one overall pick betting favorite. I put him
as a Heisman Trophy betting favorite, and it's like.
Speaker 14 (01:51:18):
Yeah, the dude's talented.
Speaker 12 (01:51:20):
Really, I truly believe he's talented. I don't think Kirbis
Martin Nick Stavian recruited him just for his last name.
I think that'd be.
Speaker 14 (01:51:26):
Under the wasting time umbrella. I don't think either of
those guys waste their own time. I think he's talented.
Speaker 12 (01:51:31):
But like he'd started two games and had a small
role in a couple of other games. So I say
all that to say it's not arch Manning's fault that
he's got all this hype heaped on him.
Speaker 14 (01:51:40):
So I'm with you.
Speaker 12 (01:51:41):
I think if if you're grading him against the preseason
billing one hundred and ten percent, it's a missed mark.
The thing that I will say with Arch is I
think the way that Texas season has gone has lent
itself to Texas sort of being an afterthought right now
in the national spotlight these last couple of weeks. I
think that his progress from that first game against Ohio
(01:52:05):
State to where he's been really since call it Mississippi
State last month or so, I think we've seen tremendous
growth and progress and all this things. So I'm like,
I want to see more March Manning I want to
see another year in the system in Austin. I want
to see what he can be for an encorese So
I think you see a guy who is starting to
have a light bulb click. Should we crown him for
beating Arkansas, who's won two games this year? No, but
(01:52:27):
I'm excited about the progress and stepped up here.
Speaker 3 (01:52:30):
Now you said flying under the radar.
Speaker 2 (01:52:32):
I think what it's completely flying under the radar is
the idea that Michigan is one of the last four
games against Ohio State, and I just don't think anybody
is factoring that into what is coming just a week
from today. Tell me how this game plays out in
Michigan Ohio State. How do you think it does, because
this game is one of those to me, at least,
(01:52:54):
the record really doesn't matter and it was never more
on display than last year.
Speaker 14 (01:52:58):
I'm so glad you said that. We were just shooting
something for our show.
Speaker 12 (01:53:02):
Getting ready for the Ohio State Michigan game, and I
was talking to our producer about just, hey, you know,
what's your angle on this game. What do you think
we should make sure we include in this segment? Just
kind of trade takes trading, if you will, he just goes,
is it even about football? Like, do you even have
a football take in this game heading into it? Because
it's proven now like last year Ohio State won the
(01:53:22):
National Championship is still going to be Michigan, So like,
how much how much logic do you want.
Speaker 14 (01:53:27):
To design or breaking this game down? Here's my thing.
Speaker 12 (01:53:30):
I think that what Ohio State has done to this
point in the year has been a strategic build up
to this game. They have saved a lot of their
starter snaps. They have taken a lot of carries off
their best running back, in my opinion, all in an
effort to be at top speed, at top violence for
this game. So we're going to see Ohio State's most
(01:53:51):
violent version of themselves. I think Ohio State is still
the more talented.
Speaker 14 (01:53:54):
Team I got. Being picked to Ohio States to.
Speaker 12 (01:53:57):
Win the last four time hasn't been wrong, So I
kind of feel like you need change now.
Speaker 14 (01:54:02):
I think State is more composed man. I think I
will say this. I think the fact that.
Speaker 12 (01:54:06):
There is so many different pieces of Ohio State that
aren't carrying the burden of the last four years Julian
saying wasn't a part of it. Eighty shards on defense,
DC wasn't the part. I think that whole situation actually
both well for Ohio State. So uh, swinging for the
fences once again, I'll take Ohio State to win.
Speaker 3 (01:54:24):
I'll tell you this.
Speaker 2 (01:54:25):
I have major concerns about Michigan football at this point
in time, especially in some at that end of the
first act today was just ridiculously egregious if nobody was
watching it, but go lad, it was disgusting. H Going
into this matchup years past, I thought Michigan always can
match up in the in the trenches. There will be
a point in this game, like there is just about
(01:54:48):
in the last three about six minutes left in the
third quarter where you're like, oh, okay, Goliath has a
chance to fall. That's how I feel like this one
will look, depending on how it all plays out into
this one now. Yeah, and asked me in a secret
you know, if you ask me in a dark alley
by myself.
Speaker 3 (01:55:05):
Do I want Michigan to win? Of course? Do I
think Sharon Moore is the future? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:55:11):
Those two ideas conflicted my brain in a major way.
But you know what, if I can get Ryan dayfired,
sign me up, all right?
Speaker 1 (01:55:21):
J D.
Speaker 2 (01:55:22):
They said, Hey, it's rivalry weak baby, it's rival week
on the hard count on YouTube is where you can
see it or rival go Georgia, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Michigan,
Ohio State, all the big games.
Speaker 3 (01:55:34):
This is what we do this for.
Speaker 2 (01:55:36):
They said, rivalry is are dead with conference re alignment.
I'm not hearing it. Go check out JD breaking it
all down on the hard account.
Speaker 3 (01:55:42):
J D, thanks for joining us.
Speaker 12 (01:55:43):
My friend, my pleasure as always appreciate.
Speaker 14 (01:55:46):
Y'all have a great rest of your weekends.
Speaker 3 (01:55:47):
No doubt, no doubt now falles.
Speaker 2 (01:55:50):
Football mansie was a sport where when you lost a
game like you lose it at Ohio State game I
State Michigan, that generally invalidated you from being able to
go through in the regular season.
Speaker 3 (01:56:00):
That's how college football was. The NBA was never like that.
Speaker 2 (01:56:04):
And because it is, we are completely ignoring something that
we should be celebrating.
Speaker 3 (01:56:09):
And you know what, today is the day we make
a change. That's right coming up.
Speaker 2 (01:56:14):
Next, Martin Wis Monster Bilano's coming to you live from
the Fox Sports Radio studios, keeping the seats warm for
about four more minutes until Aratories and Jason Martin take
the airwaves for my dollar. It's the best postgame college
football show in America. And that's the way they treat it.
And you know what, I'll be listening on the way home,
and I suggest all the rest of YouTube two I
(01:56:35):
will be now.
Speaker 3 (01:56:37):
I told Ian to change the YouTube reading.
Speaker 2 (01:56:38):
He didn't do it because generally, I say, if you
want to tune into the YouTube channel to see what
specialty shirt Moncey is wearing today, you should. That's exclusive
video content you cannot get elsewhere. And the reason why
is for one that I think monce is a noble cause.
And I would like to just.
Speaker 3 (01:56:55):
Lay out here and give you the opportunity to take
your soapboxet.
Speaker 4 (01:56:58):
Listen. Please let me just talked for a hot second.
I posted a video and I asked you, Martin, who
is the greatest Clipper of all time? And you said
you can follow me Montepelana's follow Martin. I've posted and
you said Blake Griffin is the greatest Clipper of all time.
And I completely agree with you. What Blake Griffin has
done for the Clippers made us cool, put us on
the map. The entire thing. He's not the best basketball
(01:57:20):
player to put on that uniform. It's just what he
did to the Clippers.
Speaker 2 (01:57:24):
If you came laughing, you were no longer to but
of the joke exactly, Like you had highlights that were
actually about your team, not just the other team doing
to you.
Speaker 3 (01:57:33):
That was then the highlight. I'll beg you know exactly.
Speaker 4 (01:57:36):
Lob City years were amazing. What name it was amazing?
But I will tell you Martin, what James Harden is
doing is making a conversation of who the best Clipper
is today. He had fifty five points. That is a
Clipper record. James Harden now has records for two different teams.
(01:57:57):
He also has the most points as a Houston Rocket.
He has the most points as a Clipper. But what
he's done for the Clippers this entire time that Kawhi
Leonard is either planting trees or hurt, he is the
reason planting trees planting trees. He is the reason the
Clippers have stayed afloat throughout this whole absolutely up and
down roller coaster that is being a Clippers fan.
Speaker 3 (01:58:18):
It has been truly the disaster of the SGA trade.
Speaker 2 (01:58:23):
Absolutely, like when you the post SGA Paul George trade,
correct this Clippers era has been one that has been
defined by injury, but also defined by James Harden's consistency.
Speaker 4 (01:58:35):
Literally, he's the reason we made the playoffs last year.
And yes he disappears in the playoffs, ha ha haa,
and he did the Game five, all that good stuff.
But he is the reason the Clippers have state afloat
that trade. You know, at the time, everyone makes that
trade for Kawhi, Leonard, Paul George and you get rid
of SGA. Everyone would make those moves at the.
Speaker 3 (01:58:53):
Time, especially the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Speaker 4 (01:58:54):
Absolutely, so I don't blame them, but man, has it
been an what was the trade?
Speaker 3 (01:59:01):
We would it?
Speaker 2 (01:59:02):
I laugh now I say this, if you are swinging
for the fences, I completely understand why you make the trade.
Speaker 3 (01:59:08):
Exactly now. It seemed as if they were.
Speaker 2 (01:59:10):
A little too thirsty, a little bit based off some
of the reporting that has surrounded but it's a again,
they were trying to jump to a new level and
the and to your credit, they did not in a
move in which they tried to move heaven and earth
exactly to jump to a new level. They did not
(01:59:30):
fall down three levels further, whereas most teams that take
a home run swing like this would generally fall down
to one knee after the.
Speaker 5 (01:59:39):
Third strike, right exactly. And that reason why is James Harden.
Speaker 11 (01:59:42):
James.
Speaker 4 (01:59:43):
Obviously, you could say Norman Powell last year as well
and all that good stuff. But James Harden at his age,
what he is doing. We talked about Lebron James in
his twenty third season, and that's amazing. He just played
fifty one minutes last week. James Harden a career high
for the Clippers in a double overtime when he's thirty
what seven thirty six?
Speaker 3 (01:59:59):
Minds you would same birth or same birth month. Don't
age me like that.
Speaker 2 (02:00:03):
But also to give him credit because he's one of
the best regular season NBA players of all time. I
get used to matter in terms of who your favorite
player would be. My favorite radio sis coming up next, though,
