incredible radio.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Next seventeen weeks of NFL football, No, sixteen weeks of
NFL football.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
We already had one and I started week two and we.
Speaker 5 (00:33):
Started without me. I apologize.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Well, you know what, somebody had to go watch the
Savannah Bananas.
Speaker 5 (00:38):
I had to go see the Savannah Bananas.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
You can't just go on.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
You can't miss an exhibition baseball game whenever that come
to town.
Speaker 5 (00:46):
Listen. It was a lot of fun. It was a
lot of fun.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Highly recommend not saying that I need to do it again,
but I highly.
Speaker 5 (00:52):
Recommend to, like check it off the list and experience.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Oh was for sure one thing to do one time exactly.
Speaker 5 (00:58):
Not mad at that, not mad at all, but it
was highly recommend Well.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
Also was super fun.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
Today a big day in college football with a ton
of big results. That's been the story of the last
two weeks of college football is ass whoopings, right, I mean,
we've seen margins of victories that have been massive, but
the instant classic that we watched today in the Sec
six drenth Georgia Bulldogs the fifteenth ranked Tennessee Volunteers forty
(01:24):
four to forty one the final scores, Georgia pulled a
few rabbits out of their hat to go ahead and
get this win. Moncey a huge win for Georgia, obviously
to remain undefeated just shortly into this season. We've seen
look Notre Dames aiming for their second then there might
get their second loss. Clemson got their second loss. There
are teams losing all over the place, right, So Georgia
(01:47):
getting this win here massive, especially in a game where
Tennessee had jumped out to a bigger lead early on
Georgia with the fourth and sixth conversion, Georgia with the
two point conversion. Georgia obviously giving up the field goal
in the first over the first half of the first overtime,
scoring a touchdown in the second one, but Kirby Smart's
defense giving up forty one points. I know they played
an extra quarter, but forty one points is a lot
(02:09):
and they give up thirty one thirty eight in the
first four, So there you go.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
They pulled it off, though at once At one point
I wasn't sure what Kirby Smart and Georgia was gonna
do because Tennessee seems to have no problem in the
first quarter, three easy scoring drives. They just kind of
found the end zone without even looking like they tried.
But then things started changing and Tennessee from that point
did not look ever like they got back into rhythm.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah, it would say that the thing that Josh Hippel
in his offense is a little rough for me because
it's a lot of deep shots, big shots. If they're
not running the ball efficiently, then it's they're gonna have
a lot of trouble here. I will say this, Joey
Aglar is the biggest winner in college football this year,
as he could have been playing for UCLA but instead
(02:56):
Ikoy and Malilava and them decided then want to switch
it up, and I get it. Joey had what he's
three seventy one through the air, four touchdowns and two
picks today, So not the best game, but I mean
anything is better than playing at UCLA right now.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
As actually saw some ULA bloggers.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
And like making a point saying there might be some
news coming out of UCLA soon. If there is, Steve
de Seger will have it for you at the bottom
of the hour. But Tennessee's offense really had trouble. I thought, really,
what it was to me? This is a team that
Georgia has been despite their absence from the College Football Playoff.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
If you see, Georgia has been the standard in.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
College football, and this to me was a standard type
of win. Tennessee has lost you know how many games
at home since twenty twenty.
Speaker 5 (03:46):
Two, tell us two of them two, both.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Of them to Georgia.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
So it's not like Tennessee is a pushover program.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
This was a playoff team last year in Tennessee despite
going on as at Ohio State smacked them around I
believe in the first round of the playoff, but.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
Still made the playoff. This is the team that had
I believe a.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Sixty or fifty point margins victory in Week two, like
beat the living hell out of East Texas I think
Tennessee did, but still go out of Texas any now.
But the point remain Tennessee is a team that has
been a right there knocking on the door not quite
an elite SEC program, but knocking on the door of
trying to become one of those elite SEC programs that
(04:31):
we have seen year to year, especially as Alabama seems
to take a step back.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
That kind of spot is open.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
It's been in the SEC East, and Georgia was like
not today, Junior, not today.
Speaker 5 (04:43):
You know.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
I feel follow me on this analogy here now with
NIL transfer portal and all of that, I feel like
schools like Alabama and the Georgia Bulldogs are like at
one point they were movie stars. Because I don't think
we have movie stars anymore because the social media movie
stars are are not really a thing. We have access
to all of these celebrities and famous people, we feel
(05:05):
like we know them very differently. So I feel like
elite teams may be a thing of the past.
Speaker 5 (05:11):
Teams are gonna it's gonna go from year to year.
The ones that are elite, they're already elite.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Can you become an elite team knowing how everything changes
now from year to year, So Tennessee can get there.
But to say that they are like a well oiled machine,
I don't know if we're ever going to get that
from those teams that maybe had been knocking on the door.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
Does that make sense.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Well, ultimately, what it boils down to is this Tennessee
want to spend the money that is going to take
to becolm That that's what it boils down to and
today's day and agent college football, if you want to compete,
you gotta spend. And it's unfortunate for on what we're
watching Duke in two Lane right now. Two Lane's quarterback
last year was dary and Mensa, who set all types
(05:49):
of records for the Green Wave and they've had some
pretty good quarterbacks come through, including friend of the Show,
friend of Foxforth.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
Radio, Sean King.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
But Darien meant to plays for Duke now because you
got a two million dollar race to go there, and
so like that's just unfortunate for his school like Tulane,
who is not ever going to be paying two million
dollars for a single player, but can field a competitive
football team because they have good recruiting and good scouting. Now,
the flip side of that is, if you're a school
at Michigan, there's never any excuse to not have there's
(06:18):
no excuse to not have a player.
Speaker 5 (06:19):
Right because you became elite before all of the changes.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
Well, you were, you should have a lot of big.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
You should have already that. You should already be there.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
But I do think we've seen the last undefeated national
champion in college football, not just because it was the
Michigan Wolverines, but also with this twelve team playoff, you're
gonna have to see a lot more strength of schedule mattering,
a lot more, you know what I mean. You're not
gonna be able to schedule. I mean, Ohio State started
their season off with Texas, right in Texas.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
We'll talk about arch Manning in a bit, but spoiler alert.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Yikes, but Texas and you started with Texas and then
played Grambling and now playing Ohio. The more and more
we see teams kind of try to do what Illinois
did last year, which I mean not Illinois, Indiana did
last year, which is get a bunch of transfers, go
ten and two in the conference.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
And make the playoff. You're gonna have to schedule.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
You know, can Illinois, for example, eat scheduling a Western
Michigan in Week three of the season. You might need
to schedule a lower level SEC team or a mid
tier SEC team. So that way, when it all comes
down to it and it comes to selections Sunday or
whenever the hell they actually picked the college football Playoff,
you can be one of those A large teams.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
Yeah, I mean, I hear you.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
I just I feel like we are seeing changes that
we don't even know fully yet, you know what I'm saying.
So I'm just like, I don't think anybody's worried about
anything right now because of the new way.
Speaker 5 (07:51):
Of the college football Playoff. I know one, No one's worried.
No don't. No one's worried.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
No, no, no, no, no no.
Speaker 5 (07:56):
And that's that.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
The the intensity, the every game matters, that's out the window.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
You can starting too it still make the college.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
So every game matters is out the window that yes,
However the intensity I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (08:11):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
I don't think that that has now. If you can
lose to your rival and still going to win a
national championship, I agree, every game mattering doesn't matter in
the same way that it used to be. Like, oh,
if you lose today, your season is old and could.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
Have happened week one. However, that could have happened week one,
and now that's not a thing.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
No Texas last week one, and I'll tell you this
right here, Texas season is over.
Speaker 4 (08:34):
Texas season is over.
Speaker 5 (08:36):
That's because of the reason why in.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Texas you will talk about the intensity not mattering Texas today.
We'll go search arch Manning in the third like, just
search arch Manning and go back to the third quarter
of Texas.
Speaker 4 (08:49):
Who did the UTSA today?
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Yeah, you'll see, uh, disaster, disaster Texas, big time, panic,
no patience past it. The patients was the last two years,
panic all the way in full effect right now in Austin, Texas.
We got one team o that you know what, it's
(09:14):
sad to do this so early in the season. If
you listen last year and you'll know that, uh, what
are you doing? Generally, it's a little closer to Christmas
when we make these proclamations.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
But Dabo Sweeney and.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
The Clemson Tigers feel free to go ahead and put
your hula, your Hawaiian shirts on, buy those tickets, and
pack your bags because after today's lost to Georgia Tech,
you are not going to the college football playoffs. You'll
have plenty of free time this winter to go to
your destination of your choice.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Oh goodbye, Marian, you are jumping the gun way too
early to declar, way too early.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Listen right now, right now, you can get fifty percent
off to get to a holiday.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
Clemson.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Clemson is not looking good, but they're fine. One and
two to start the season.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
They're fine.
Speaker 6 (10:18):
Yeah, I will say, Martin. If you look at the
schedule they have coming.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
Up, Bill Belichick beats the watch.
Speaker 6 (10:22):
There's chances they have, like Florida State is now a
top ten team as of now.
Speaker 7 (10:26):
We'll see what happens.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Is gonna pound that team that day, That Florida State
that home what the beat Alabama by three scores? That
Alabama that just beat Wisconsin by what thirty five to eighteen?
Florida State. Clemson was playing Troy last week and it
was a seven point game with seven min et eleven and
fourth quarter.
Speaker 6 (10:46):
They play Florida State, they play SMU, they might play
South Carolina, who's currently the eleventh team smack. They've got
a lot of teams here that if they win all
of them, which hey, after today, not not saying it
look that likely, but it's not. But it's we're not
playing tropical music, which I guess we are.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
We are, It's just this is five years ago, right,
you know, five years ago.
Speaker 5 (11:08):
You are right, Martin, But that's not the situation.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
So it's easier to go into that locker room and
be like, guys, hey, we gotta we gotta get art,
you know what together, because we still have time to
make up for it because of the way can make
the playoff number thirteen.
Speaker 5 (11:24):
Write it down, not write it down, ot not.
Speaker 7 (11:28):
I am writing it down, so you will have to
face the music.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
You said that that a chance to be average margins
or victory will be at least seven points between South
Carolina and UH and Florida State. Write it down. Take
a picture'll last longer. Coming up next, we'll talk about
the upset that apparently has nobody else in the studio
shook at.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
All because of the situation.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Is everything is all good down in South Carolina. I'm
not talking about the game, Couch.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
I'm talking about the Tigers. We'll get to that.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
And just to me and Martin wiss Masci Belongos Fox

That's right.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
You can tell Martin right now that he's crazy for
already sending Clemson to can Kun listen crazy?
Speaker 2 (13:23):
I know how I spent every Saturday just about for
the last three years. I spent it here updating America.
About half as well to a third a third as
well as Steve Desagre will in about nine minutes. You know, Steve,
that's the thing. I do it and Steve comes in.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
It is like, this is how it's really done, how
the varsity does it.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Buddy, thanks for thanks for coming in.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
All right, But I so I've seen a lot of
Clemson football so far this season.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Let me tell you something. That team was in a
dog fight with Troy. A dog fight with who's Troy, No,
the university Troy, not the movie or the guy.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Or the guy, any guy. I always go to Brad
Pitt when I have to.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
I mean, not a bad place. I don't know if
Brad Pitt would have helped close. No, I know this,
if Dobb wouldn't recruiting me, wouldn't have been there. Because
he didn't take anybody from the trunk.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
He does not like to. He didn't. He take three
though this offseason for the first.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Time time, and one of them was a defense. One
of them was a defensive player. I heard them say
that on the imagine that that's your trivia clues that
you're the first defensive player that Doabo took in the porter.
Speaker 4 (14:35):
But I mean they got to me. I'm watching Haynes.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
King, who is miles away from the NFL all and
this is not a knock because he don't have to be.
He's in college, that's that's where he's at. But miles
away from the NFL. That was just dominating Clemson's defense, dominating,
(15:08):
dashing Clemson's defense.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
You're supposed to tell me this.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Florida State team, the same one that has people in
Alabama buying powerball tickets so they hope they win so
they can cash the money and buy out Kaylin de boor.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
That Florida State team.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Okay, I hear what you are saying. I just think
I just think you are basing your analysis based on
the history of what you've seen Clemson do over the years.
And you're right today's loss because I think that there
are times where you could lose, but it's a good loss, right,
You walk away from it and you're like, all right,
we can make it better, we can fine tune.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
These things, and then well we'll get it next time.
This was a bad loss. I will give you all
of that. Martin.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
I just think that you are jumping the gun a
little bit because of the situation now that is college
football in the playoff situation? They were, I just think
you're you're not. Is it that you're wrong, You're probably
you might be right. I just think you're early on
declaringet I'm not.
Speaker 2 (16:09):
I'm never wrong.
Speaker 5 (16:10):
Oh no, no, no, okay, no.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
I can't wait for you to take those words back
when they do get into the college playoff.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
Kay Clubnick today fifteen for twenty six.
Speaker 5 (16:20):
Two oh seventh's bad? He looked bad, dude.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
With a seventy three yard touchdown pass. So I'm not
a mathematician. Yeah, but you take out seventy three out
of two oh seven totally and you're left with what
one thirty four one hundred and thirty four yards passing.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
No other touchdowns in the air, one interception, No he
rushed for another.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
Yeah he rushed, I know, but in the air.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Yeah. Second Saturday in a row that Clemson football has
been trailing going into the half. Second Saturday in a
row Clemson football had like, was it less than I
put single digit scoring on the scoreboard walking into the
halftime halftime locker room. This team was fourth in the
(17:06):
AP rankings twelve today. They should not be ranked after today.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Mmmm, that's bold but probably you think they're gonna actually
not rank them at all.
Speaker 5 (17:14):
They won't be like twenty third.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
I don't think they should be ranked. I don't think
they should be right at all.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
They only dropped they were four and now they're twelve.
So let's say they drop another ten, they would.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
Still be there.
Speaker 6 (17:26):
How about the fact that even though they lost to
LSU in Week one, they still looked like pretty competitive
and it came down to the wire, and that that's
got to count for something.
Speaker 5 (17:34):
I does it? I mean, does it just in terms of.
Speaker 6 (17:38):
Are they one of the twenty five best teams in
the country and LSU is ranked third right now, We'll
see how they do against Florida.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
It's just this was a bad loss. It will be bad.
Speaker 6 (17:49):
I mean, yeah, I don't know. The only thing I
would point to is Notre Dame making it after losing
to NIU. I think it was early in last season,
but again, that was just one loss and now Clemson
has two.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
So yeah, Kate Klubnik has not completed He's only completed
fifty percent, over fifty percent of his passes. That's over
six percent of his passes in one game so far
this year. I was told this is a first round quarterback.
That's what I was told this This is this is
a guy that is going to be knocking on the
(18:20):
door of the first round. This is why I'm done
listening to you people.
Speaker 5 (18:28):
What did you hear about arch Manning? Did you also
hear the same thing again?
Speaker 2 (18:32):
Our arch Manning was a Heisman Trophy winner and the
first overall pick.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Now he might be first in picks.
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Thrown as the starter of this season, the first overall
pick that ain't happening, Jack.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
Maybe he was the first quarterback this year to be booed.
He might have been.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
He went what ten straight incompletions in the first half,
gets booed?
Speaker 5 (18:56):
No boen. I just and I'm with you.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
I'm just like, why did you tell us that he
was going to look way different than what he looks like.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
I mean, that's what they told us about the Kate
Club Nicks of the world. I mean, no, was the loudest.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
Are just was the loudest, and they have just keep
they just kept him hidden for two years. So here
we are expecting this guy who maybe has matured behind
the scenes and not matured that, you know, personality wise.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
Well, you know what I'm saying of getting I.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
Mean personality wise football like you know, but.
Speaker 5 (19:25):
I don't know him like that. I didn't want it
to come off like I was.
Speaker 4 (19:29):
He was a high school kid going into college.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
And all around, and then he's gonna go out there
and look comfortable.
Speaker 5 (19:37):
But I don't think he's comfortable once.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
No, because he's not comfortable, because he's not.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
And I don't the grimacne thing. I don't know if
there if he is hurt or not, but he just
I think grimace.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
Is a lot you guys. No, I'm serious.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
The athletic had a story out that they tried to
go look at all of the footage of his passes
to see if he actually does grim and I think
they said, in his short career he has about one
hundred and fifty five passes. Right, They went looking for
video and out of all of the passes, they got
fifteen clear cut shots of his face. Okay, and out
(20:13):
of those fifteen shots of his face, thirteen times he
was grimacing.
Speaker 6 (20:18):
That's so funny. They watched the tape. They've been watching
the tape.
Speaker 5 (20:21):
They're doing it.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
Maybe he just grimaces, Maybe he's actually not hurt and
it's just what he does suck.
Speaker 5 (20:25):
If Michael Jordan sticks his tongue out, this guy grimaces,
I don't.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
Michael Jordan also made more than forty five percent.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
Of his shots.
Speaker 6 (20:32):
What if it's a grimace like he just like I
don't want to throw this, like one of those like
he regrets the decision to throw it as he's throwing it.
Speaker 7 (20:40):
And that's what the grimace is.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
He saw where the ball was going when he let
it go.
Speaker 5 (20:45):
And he said, Oh my god, I can't believe he're
didn't hit my.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
Guy in the knee. Oh I'm gonna hit him in
the ankle. Oh my goodness, that think's went ten yards
over his head. Like, what if he's hurt? Shit him.
You had no problem sitting him last year or the
year before that. If he's hurts at.
Speaker 5 (21:00):
Him, which is I don't think he's hurt. That's the
whole point.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
It's just what somebody's lying to me. Somebody's lying to me,
and I'm not buying it. If he's hurt, then put
him on the bench.
Speaker 5 (21:14):
I don't care.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
If he's got for your commercials and Warby Parker and
progressive and whatever.
Speaker 5 (21:18):
Warby Parker, he's doing fine.
Speaker 4 (21:21):
Maybe Warby Parker, He's to send the boys some glasses.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Hey, hold on, maybe I mean I'm just a couple
Dodger players this year got glasses, contact lenses, and now
they get the ball better.
Speaker 7 (21:31):
It happens every year.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Every year in baseball, you hear about a pitcher who
all of a sudden can paint the corner. What happened?
I got lasi. Yeah, Oh, you just couldn't see before.
You know, every year a guy goes from being a
two twenty hitter to two seventy five hitter with the
home run jumps.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
What's going on?
Speaker 5 (21:47):
Oh, just got new glasses, got.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
A new prescription, got a new perscription.
Speaker 6 (21:51):
I think Jamis Winston's legendary thirty touchdown thirty interception season
came after he got Lasick.
Speaker 2 (21:58):
I believe, though, so he tried he got lasch this
season afterwards, Okay, he was trying to sell the I
through the listen. The thirty touchdowns that was the left eye.
The thirty interceptions that was the right eye. That that's
what happened. I'm trying to get a new job ended up,
(22:20):
I believe, going from Tampa to be the backup quarterback
in New Orleans. From that moment. But speaking of backup quarterbacks,
I was the backup. Now the starter is in position.
Steve the Seger to update us on everything going on
in the world of sports. Oh, you're absolutely right. Thank
you for reminding me. He and Steve, my bad. I
(22:41):
wanted to do this. I did it last week and
I thought it was a lot of fun. Steve, if
you have an input on this, I would like your.
Speaker 11 (22:45):
Opinion standing by standing by, sure, seated, actually, but go ahead.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
I printed out a list of all the games on Sunday.
I would like to solicit a guest from the everybody
involved the cheapest ticket available to go to a Sunday
NFL game. Here are your options. You could watch the
Jaguars in Cincinnati. Cincinnati the home team that's a finalist,
(23:12):
The Giants at Cowboys Dallas home team, the Bears.
Speaker 11 (23:17):
People we see the Dolphins. Dolphins gotta be on that list.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
I'm here.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
Hold on, that got you, The Bears at the Lions,
the Rams at the Titans, Patriots at Dolphins, forty nine
Ers at Saints, Another finalists, Bills at Jets, Seahawks at Steelers,
Browns at Ravens. Spoiler alert, not in the top three
Broncos at Colts, Panthers at Cardinals, Eagles at Chiefs, and
(23:45):
finally the rounded all out the Falcons at the Vikings. Mons,
Who do you think has the cheapest ticket in the NFL?
Speaker 3 (23:53):
I really like the Patriots Dolphins game. I'm gonna say
that's the cheapest game this Sunday.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Okay, So that's Moncey and Steve are on Patriots and Dolphins.
Yep in.
Speaker 6 (24:04):
I was deciding between that and another one, so that
makes it easy. I'm gonna I'm gonna zig where they're zagging.
I'm going forty nine or Saints because Mac Jones is
getting the start there, Mac Jones versus Spencer Rattler. I mean,
come on, George Kittle's injured.
Speaker 11 (24:15):
Saints do have good fans.
Speaker 5 (24:17):
Yeah, Mary Carlands, you know I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 12 (24:21):
I was looking and you guys have the im go
Patriots Dolphins.
Speaker 7 (24:26):
Not gonna lie, all right.
Speaker 12 (24:27):
I feel like Arnie's gonna be mad so at a game.
Nine's gonna be mad at I have to choose that.
Speaker 13 (24:31):
That's one reason to choose it. Actually, yeah, that's why
you have to choose it. I was watching that Arizona
game yesterday. I think wow, not happy. All right, we'll
have the answer after this. Steve de Seger, you're up.
Speaker 11 (24:43):
Well, there's been lightning as a story in college football today.
You may have seen it. Purdue. They never got started
for what three hours at the start. It is now
early third quarter and USC leads at Produce seventeen to three.
There was a lightning delay in Miami at one point,
so they were only third quarter at this point. Fifth
ranked Miami leading twenty eight to six over eighteenth ranks
(25:04):
South Florida and also the Fox TV game very early
in the contest a lightning delay. At number twenty one
Texas Tech Red Raiders now lead in the third against
Oregon State thirty five to nothing. Number one Ohio State
only had thirteen to three against Ohio U under thirty
seconds to go in the first half. Under thirty seconds
(25:25):
left first half at number nine Illinois the Aliga only
up ten to nothing on Western Michigan. Seventeenth ranked Ole
Miss is in the lead again twenty eight twenty one
against Arkansas three minutes to go in the first half.
Third ranked LSU has tied it up three to three
against Florida. LSU did give up a eighty seven yard
touchdown pass, but the Gators were called for holding.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
It was called back.
Speaker 11 (25:49):
End of the first eighth rank. Notre Dame leading fourteen
to seven over number sixteen Texas A and M. And
after A and M's defense gave up a very casual
touchdown drive of seven plays seventy five yards in only
three minutes. Quarter Well, not the head coach Mike Elko,
not necessarily to the quarterback, but seemingly the entire defense
seated on the bench started yelling at then picked up
(26:11):
a chair and just threw it. Poor chair. Vanderbilt tied
seven all at number eleven South Carolina early second quarter.
Utah leads three nothing at Wyoming late in the first quarter.
We already had easy wins for Penn State and Oregon.
Number six Georgia came back for an overtime win at
Tennessee forty four forty one. At seventh Thranke Texas, the
Longhorns were twenty seven to ten winners over UTEP. Georgia
(26:35):
Tech at home beat number twelve Clemson on a fifty
five yard field goal on the final play twenty four
to twenty one. Easy wins for Oklahoma and Alabama. Michigan
and Missouri as well. Fourteenth rank Diowa State won twenty
four to sixteen at Arkansas State, and it was twenty
fourth ranked Auburn thirty one fifteen winners against South Alabama.
The Cleveland Browns activated rookie running back quin Schawn Judkins,
(26:57):
he finally signed his contract a week ago. Kansas City
Wide receiver Xavier Worthy out this weekend with his shoulder injury.
The Falcons bench kicker Young Way coo John Parker Romo
is up from the practice squad at San Francisco kicker
Jake Moody officially on the Chicago practice squad. Dallas signed
guard Tyler Smith to a four year extension worth over
(27:18):
eighty million dollars guaranteed. And Las Vegas tight end Brock Bowers,
who's had the bad knee, did return to limited practice
so he could be playing Monday night against the Chargers.
Baseball wins for the Yankees and Blue Jays. Cleveland has
beaten the White Sox three to one, and on Fox TV,
it's the Cardinals ahead at Milwaukee two nothing top of
the second, although with another Mets defeat, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
The Mets have lost eight in a row.
Speaker 11 (27:43):
That already gives a playoff spot mathematically to these Milwaukee Brewers.
Mets lost three to two to the Texas Rangers.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
Back to you, Mets have just fallen apart in the tank,
just fallen apart. Here to last year at this time,
what New York and Francisco Lindor was doing. And now
you have Juan Soto and you've just unraveled.
Speaker 11 (28:04):
In the last month tem Race seven.
Speaker 5 (28:10):
You can send them to Cancun.
Speaker 11 (28:12):
Even if they get to the playoffs, who's their starting
rotation going to be at this point?
Speaker 5 (28:16):
It's atrocious, It's unreal. What's happening to them.
Speaker 2 (28:19):
For the best pregame show every weekend, be sure to
tune in the Fox Sports radios Countdown to Kickoff, resented
by bet MGM every Saturday and Sunday morning, will count
you down for all of the biggest games for three
hours right up until kickoff. For all the best plays
and up to the second injury news. Tune in a
countdown the Kickoff attended by bet MGM every Saturday and
Sunday morning right here on Fox Sports Radio and the
(28:40):
iHeartRadio app. And just in case you want to go
to the cheapest game available on the way to count
down to kickoff. Number four, the Rams at the Titans,
tickets as low as forty seven dollars. Damn number three,
the most popular pick in the room, the Patriot at
the Dolphins, tickets as low as forty one dollars at
(29:04):
hard Rock Stadium. It's going to be hot as hell
down there too, and tiede and maybe some lightning right exactly,
a lot of weather for it might not be worth
that forty one dollars just on the couch for that one.
Speaker 11 (29:17):
What's worse than being at a Dolphins game for three hours?
Being at a Dolphins game for six hours exactly and
tied for first.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
With tickets as low as twenty eight dollars. You have
your New York Giants at the Dallas Cowboys in the Shaker.
Speaker 4 (29:36):
Well.
Speaker 11 (29:36):
It is a huge stadium compared to others.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
True, so you can go way up there for that ticket.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
And the Carolina Panthers at the Arizona Cardinals.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
And one that I think surprises absolutely.
Speaker 6 (29:47):
So, Niners Saints wasn't even in the top four.
Speaker 4 (29:50):
Didn't even crack the good fans man, I will say though.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
It was fifth, all right.
Speaker 7 (29:54):
I'm just that's just not a good deal.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
A good deal all right, speaking of not a good deal,
I don't think it's ever been a good thing to
have a player's only meeting after you've only played four
quarters worth of football. So with that being said, and
you ran through a list of the play of three
NFL figures, who's on the hottest seat? Get to it?
Speaker 6 (30:20):
Yeah, So figures is a good way of putting it,
because players and coaches are included here alike. So we'll
start with Mike McDaniel, head coach of the Dolphins. His
seat was already hot going into the season, but after
the Dolphins looked as bad as they did in Week
one leasing to the Colts. And let's not forget the
Cults themselves were projected to be one of the worst
teams in the league. We'll see whether or not that's true,
but they were projected to be and the Dolphins look
(30:43):
terrible against them. So Mike McDaniel pretty hot seat there.
Russell Wilson another one. He's already at risk of being
bench after just one game, and Davill has already confirmed
that it will be rough starting this week. And I
believe there was an Adam Schefter report today that said
the Giants are leaking that apparently there's no you know,
considering there's no hurry to bench Russ and star Jackson Dart.
Speaker 7 (31:06):
I don't know if that's true. You know, you guys
be the judge.
Speaker 6 (31:09):
Russell Wilson, and then last one, Bryce Young. He showed
some improvement over the back half of last season, but
he was also pretty terrible in Week one through two
interceptions and he barely completed fifty percent of his throws. So,
out of those three Mike McDaniel, Russell Wilson, and Bryce Young,
who you guys think is under the most pressure to
win right now?
Speaker 3 (31:27):
I think it's The answer is clear, and it's Mike
McDaniel for a variety of reasons, including the fact that
you mentioned it hot seat already kind of last year
towards the end of the season, and then you mentioned
it when you're having a player's only meeting after one game.
That happens because the team has given up and they're
not playing for Mike McDaniel anymore. If you're not playing
(31:49):
for your coach, then who are you playing for? And
that's exactly what happened. That media was in order to
make sure that they still believed in themselves and that
they stayed locked in. Yeah, because you guys gave up.
If you're not playing for your coach, then I don't
know what you're playing for.
Speaker 5 (32:03):
Mike mcdant. Tommy is a clear answer to that.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Absolutely not. Here's the thing with the Dolphins and Might McDaniel,
it's already over. Mike McDonnell's done. There's no pressure because
there's nothing's gonna happen. You're not turning it around. This
thing is done deep fried for ca. See it's a
riggity riggity wrap in Miami. They're gonna get pounded by
the Patriots tomorrow. They might go on to seventeen. The
(32:27):
good news for mc daniels he won't be there for
all seventeen of them. He'll be going by week seven,
sitting with his feet up, no socks on in those
capriez et that nice Thanksgiving dinner watching the Lions plug
all right, Russell Wilson, similar story, But Russ, he's married
to a supermodel, and listen, it's time to go be
a family man. All right.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
We know it's over for you, cashing out the checks.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
The hottest seat in the NFL right now is to
the NFL shortest man. That is Bryce Young, who at
this point in time literally may not make.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
Thirty NFL starts. Bryce.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
If Bryce Schng gets benched again, would that be the
first number one overall pick to be benched twice on
his first team. I think so, Like you know what
I'm saying, in recent history, at least the seat is
hottest on Bryce Schunk because no one they can't change anything.
Speaker 4 (33:16):
They fired enough coaches.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
He's the guy that's gonna have to be the mainstay
and canal is is gonna be like, listen, it's gonna
be him or me. And if it's gonna be him
or me, I'd rather draft a quarterback above six feet tall.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
The problem is that the success that they had at
the end of the season, they're like they they saw
success with him.
Speaker 5 (33:33):
That's the problem here, Martin. So like maybe maybe it's
maybe they're holding on to hope. That's fake, right, is
what you're implying.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
Success is a lot we had to get to.
Speaker 5 (33:42):
No, he turns it around after he was betched. He
turned he looked it. He looked like a different.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Quarterback, all right, But the first one looked like he
wasn't a quarterback at all.
Speaker 5 (33:50):
And this first game, this first week was bad.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
It seemed like he took two steps forward at the
end of the season and then just took four steps
back to start the season.
Speaker 5 (33:58):
So I hear I hear you. But I feel like
there is still hope. And like you said it perfectly,
maybe with the Dolphins, there is no hope. That's they're dead.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
You know what this you know what this hope, the
hope that Bryce Young gave people last year.
Speaker 4 (34:10):
See, you've lived in California whole.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
Life, right, all right, So I lived in the Midwest
for fifteen years and I wasn't born everything, so I
was shocked into this every year. Actually, Cardinal was talking
about this today Carmen Vitality on the show earlier in Chicago.
Apparently is very nice today because right around now September
October of the year, these random days where it just
(34:33):
kind of spikes up and it's like a nice seventy
five degrees. Let me tell you something, Winter is coming
and it will be brutal. Winter is coming and it
will be brutal.
Speaker 5 (34:44):
You're trying to tell me that I was bamboozled by
Bryce Young.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
I'm let's say he was bambooze.
Speaker 4 (34:48):
I don't want to I don't want to. I don't
want to get the show off of the wrong foot.
I'm all I'm.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
Saying, I'm not offended, But you're saying.
Speaker 5 (34:56):
I was bamboozoled.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
You saw the most optimistic version.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Maybe I, in turn, live in the land of logic
and there are not at Bryce Young is somewhere between
my height and your height, and let me tell you
what the problem is between Well, listen, this issue is
here between my height and your height. You are disqualified
for playing in the NFL unless you run a four
(35:23):
to two. That's that's the only way, Darren sprolls, that's
the only way that you could stick around in the
NFL if you are shorter than me.
Speaker 4 (35:33):
That's my that's my take. You gotta be able to run.
Speaker 3 (35:37):
He Caleb Williams, Kyler Murray are Aren't they all about
the same size?
Speaker 2 (35:41):
Bryce again, Watch Kayleb Williams run Monday Night, watch Kyler
Mullyer run anytime, and then watch Bryce Young run, and
you'll see the issue right there.
Speaker 6 (35:51):
I'm kind of with Monty though, for Mike McDaniel, just
because well because I get your logic, Martin, because like
I mean, you're saying it's essentially already over for the
pressure gone, you know, but that's with McDaniel himself. Like,
if you're if you believe that McDaniel himself has already
accepted that he's no longer going to be the Dolphins
head coach by mid season, then I agree with you.
But I don't think that he's accepted that yet, which
(36:13):
means he still feels the most he knows that he
could be gone by a single press conference from this man.
Speaker 5 (36:19):
He says, every day you're closer to death or something
like that.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
Yeah, I mean I prefer not to so Mike McDaniel's
literally advocating for his own debt. It's saying, why is
saying a good day because I'm one day closer to dying?
Then coach this team.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
He did say that that's how he's in the hottest
I love that it's happening to the Dolphins, though, as
a Jets fan, I just it's the best team it
could be happening.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
Like it's like, you know, like if you have a
terminal illness, you know what you're not worried about, like
saving for retirement.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
Okay, it's over. It's over, Mike McDaniel.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
It's over.
Speaker 5 (36:54):
I gave the Dolphins wins, and I think I gave
him too many.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
I'm selling the Dolphins.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
What am I buying? What's Moncey buying? Will get to
that next.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio come to.
Speaker 4 (37:07):
You live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
Is Martin Weiss and Mossy Bolanos about to kick it
over to producer Ian for a quick game of buy
or so?
Speaker 7 (37:16):
All right, buy or sell?
Speaker 6 (37:17):
So I'm just gonna give you guys a few NFL
storylines here, and you're gonna tell me whether you're buying
or selling your stocking.
Speaker 7 (37:23):
I'm pretty simple, straightforward, ready to go.
Speaker 9 (37:25):
Let's do it, all right?
Speaker 7 (37:27):
First though, yeah, hey, relaxed.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
They keep showing that play and that's how bad it was.
Speaker 5 (37:33):
Sorry, they keep showing that ridiculous play right now?
Speaker 6 (37:36):
Oh man, Yeah that was really embarrassing. I said it
off air, but it was embarrassing for both teams there.
All right, First, buy or sell storyline here? Russell Wilson
as the Week three starter for the Giants. So obviously
he's starting this week, but it could go bad enough
where he's not the starter next week. But it could
go you know, he could play himself into a few games.
Speaker 7 (37:58):
Leeway here.
Speaker 6 (37:58):
What do you think buy yourself Russell wills and as
the week three starter for the Giants.
Speaker 4 (38:02):
I'm buying it.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
I wish I could buy Jackson bolt start week three,
sneaky jamis is in blood?
Speaker 5 (38:10):
Who are they playing the week three? Do you know
off the top of your head?
Speaker 7 (38:15):
No, but I can get that in five.
Speaker 5 (38:17):
Sorry, I mean to put you on the spot.
Speaker 6 (38:19):
No, No, I got to hear they're playing the Chiefs
next week on Sunday Night football.
Speaker 5 (38:24):
Yeah, no, definitely, I'm with Martin. I am buying for sure,
absolutely absolutely.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
Bye bye, Russell Wilson, go be a family dead.
Speaker 6 (38:32):
That's some critical context. I'm good glad you asked me that.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
You know what I'm saying, because if it was like, oh,
are they playing the Panthers, then maybe he's getting softer
landing spot exactly, exactly, all right.
Speaker 6 (38:42):
Next up, Detroit Lions stock after their performance against the
Packers last week.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
I'm buying at what is an all time low in
the last two years. Yeah, you're saying buying Lion stock.
So which is is Michael Parks is supposed to be
the type of player that can impact an entire season,
or are the Lions just terrible in an offensive line
or that's probably the truth lie somewhere in between. But
Michael Parks's got there like ten days prior they're supposed
(39:09):
to block him. That's tough.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
Yeah, I'm with Mariin on this one.
Speaker 5 (39:12):
I am buying as well.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
There's I think that the Lions are just you know,
figuring it out. They had to kind of change some
things to new coordinators. Not that they were gonna make
everything different, but injuries that happened last year, Aden.
Speaker 5 (39:25):
Hudginson, the whole thing.
Speaker 6 (39:26):
I totally they're gonna bounce back, all right, Tread carefully here.
Justin field stock after his strong Week one performance against Pittsburgh.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
I bought Justin fieldsuck this offseason, and I'm coming back around. Baby,
You're buying more. You know why?
Speaker 4 (39:43):
Because they believe in him.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
They believe in him. You hear the way Aaron Glenn
talks about him, the way Garrett Wilson talks about him.
The Jets are all in on Justin Fields and are
designed and more importantly, designing an offense around him where
he could be successful.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
And not just that Martin is on it, but not
just that I'm also absolutely buying. They're letting him throw
and run the ball. There were some nice throws he
had in Game one for the Jets. They are working
with what he can do, working around him, and the
whole thing we talked about the Miami Dolphins, like there's
no hope, there is no belief there.
Speaker 5 (40:16):
The Jets, Oh, they're fully in. They believe in him,
and that's gonna be huge.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
All right.
Speaker 6 (40:21):
Next, Aaron Rodgers stock after a strong Week one performance
against the Jets, so vice versa. And remember, Aaron Rodgers
threw four touchdowns. So what do we think buying or
selling stock?
Speaker 4 (40:30):
I'm selling because it's too high.
Speaker 5 (40:33):
It's too high.
Speaker 4 (40:33):
It's too high, it's too high.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
I think this might be Aaron rodgers first and last
four touchdown game for with the Steelers.
Speaker 5 (40:40):
This is a hard this is a hard one. I'm
kind of you know what I'm gonna buy. I'm gonna
buy him. I'm gonna buy Yep, let's go. Aaron Rodgers
ain't done.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
He's gonna help the Steelers actually win their first playoff
game in I don't.
Speaker 2 (40:52):
Know how long I'm rooted for it. I want him
to win. Honestly, if Rogers or Tomlin win a wildcard
game and then go out on the Oh yeah, I
would make me up. We're happy, let's go.
Speaker 1 (41:02):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
That's right, broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Martin Wise here, monste Belanos there as we shit here
on the maiden voyage of the Eminem Show.
Speaker 5 (41:15):
The Eminem Show coming at you.
Speaker 2 (41:16):
Live, or we're just gonna go with that The Eminem Show.
Speaker 5 (41:18):
Why not?
Speaker 2 (41:19):
All right?
Speaker 5 (41:20):
I mean if we can think of something better? But
can we?
Speaker 2 (41:23):
The only problem is when I think of the Eminem Show,
I think of America, We Love you, that Eminem song
that was doing that song on the Eminem Show.
Speaker 5 (41:34):
No, yes it was.
Speaker 4 (41:36):
I remember, come on, Ian you grew up listening to.
Speaker 5 (41:39):
But I can't. I can't think of the song you're
talking about.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
I think it's called White America.
Speaker 5 (41:42):
Actually, oh great.
Speaker 3 (41:44):
I also think of Eminem's like the candy, the chocolate,
which I love, peanut Eminem's, so.
Speaker 2 (41:50):
That's Eminem flavor. Go peanut, Oh actual peanut.
Speaker 5 (41:53):
Yeah, like not the peanut butter, but the peanut in it.
Speaker 4 (41:56):
See me, what do you like?
Speaker 2 (41:58):
I have an ex girlfriend that thinks for this, But
I never used to do this. Before I was with her.
She would combine hot Cheetos and hot free Dos together. Okay,
now that is not for me. However, the concept of
then combining snack foods was one that I was like, huh, interesting.
It's hard to go wrong mixing a caramel eminem and
(42:21):
peanut butter eminem into one big bag. You can't. Really,
it's hard to go wrong.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
No, that sounds delicious. Quick funny story shout out to
my soorty sister and one of my best friends, Ashley.
Speaker 5 (42:31):
We were in Sorty. I'll make it quick.
Speaker 3 (42:33):
She was We're headed to volleyball practice and she text me,
do you want me to pick you up anything from
the liquor store.
Speaker 5 (42:37):
I said, yeah, give me some yellow eminems. So I said,
give me some yellow eminems.
Speaker 3 (42:41):
She came back and she gave me two of the
regular eminem's nothing that's just all chocolate.
Speaker 5 (42:47):
And she throws me.
Speaker 3 (42:47):
Two bags and she's like, I got you too, so
you can pick up the yellow ones.
Speaker 5 (42:52):
Ashley, that's not what I met. Years later, we've argued
about it. Who was wrong? Was I wrong?
Speaker 7 (42:58):
By what're a good friend?
Speaker 3 (43:00):
By not saying peanut by saying yellow eminem's.
Speaker 5 (43:03):
If you say yellow eminem, I'm gonna assume peanut, right, No.
Speaker 3 (43:06):
No, no, this girl she's like, well, I thought you
just wanted the yellow ones, And I was like.
Speaker 6 (43:10):
No, no, I mean she should have clarified because if
it was skittles, okay, you know, because that's a flavor, but.
Speaker 5 (43:17):
Darbors have them by the like color. Years later, she
still thinks I said it wrong.
Speaker 2 (43:22):
You know, I.
Speaker 4 (43:24):
Stand with Ashley.
Speaker 7 (43:27):
I under the show together.
Speaker 5 (43:28):
You can't even lie and take my side.
Speaker 4 (43:30):
I under, first of all, I respect you too much
to lie to you.
Speaker 5 (43:33):
Okay, I'm trying to butter me up here.
Speaker 4 (43:36):
I understand why everybody would think that.
Speaker 2 (43:39):
But like if Frank Sinatra says I want nothing but
the green eminem's in my dressing room, you're supposed to
go through pickout and get the green M and ms.
Speaker 4 (43:47):
I get that.
Speaker 2 (43:48):
There's also a pack of eminem that happens to be yellow,
But but there's no green pack of.
Speaker 7 (43:55):
M and ms.
Speaker 5 (43:56):
Right, is there a green with flavor? Is that?
Speaker 2 (43:59):
What is it?
Speaker 12 (44:00):
Let's look because the le bron ones are the regular ones,
the blue ones are the pretzel, the purple at the
carmel Wow, look at her.
Speaker 4 (44:07):
I guarantee you as a green pack of.
Speaker 3 (44:09):
Eminems and it's the peppermint one. No, I'm just making
stuff up.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
I guarantee you green.
Speaker 7 (44:14):
I can look it up right now.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
You know what there might look it up and we'll
be back in just the moment there, because you know
what there might be you might find a special edition
Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 4 (44:22):
Green eminem pack.
Speaker 2 (44:24):
After they won the Super Bowl defeating Patrick Mahomes and
the Kansas City Chiefs, we have a Super Bowl rematch?
Speaker 5 (44:33):
Is it really?
Speaker 6 (44:34):
Though?
Speaker 2 (44:35):
I think so.
Speaker 4 (44:36):
The Eagles and the Chiefs were in the last year's
Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (44:37):
No, yeah, I just so it's it's the implications are
not the same.
Speaker 3 (44:42):
I hear what you're saying, But so early on in
the season, I just don't think of anyone. Everyone's putting
all their cards out there at this point. So I
don't know how much of a rematch it really.
Speaker 2 (44:49):
I don't know because I've heard I've heard on this
network and others venerable sports talkers, people who pay their
taxes doing this job, say, you know, I think if
the Philadelphia Eagles flying away to pull this one out.
Jalen Hurts is Patrick Mahomes just true rival. I've heard,
(45:11):
I've heard. Yeah, I know what, I'll say it. I'll
put it out there. It was Rob g I heard
him read it to Rob Parker or the other watching
all the odd couple. And that's not the only place
I heard. I heard a lot of different places. Is
Jalen Hurts gonna be deemed Mahomes's rival if the Eagles
win this game?
Speaker 5 (45:30):
No, I wouldn't. I don't look at it like that
at all.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
I think up until this point, Jalen Hurts is being
included in this conversation because they want, not because he's
not talented.
Speaker 5 (45:41):
That's not it.
Speaker 3 (45:41):
It's just they won and they finally, you know, got
over whatever hump they maybe were encountering. But no, no,
And I think it's more that Mahomes doesn't have one rival.
I think Mahomes has had many players that he has
beat throughout the years, and so I don't associate one
(46:02):
person against Mahomes the way maybe now I associate Josh
Allen versus Lamar Jackson. That one, I think is a
real rivalry, like it's brewing, it's happening before our eyes.
I don't see the Jalen hurts Patrick Mahomes' rivalry.
Speaker 5 (46:18):
I don't see it, am I crazy? Do you see it?
Speaker 2 (46:21):
Patrick Mahomes has one rival right now, the man in
the mirror. It's the man in the mirror.
Speaker 5 (46:28):
I like that now.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
I'm not saying that that is what it will be
for eternity.
Speaker 5 (46:32):
Yes, but right now, but for right now, I like that.
Speaker 2 (46:35):
And then, to be honest, no matter what happens on Sunday,
come Monday, it's still gonna be the man in the
mirror for Patrick Macomes. And like he's chasing the ghost
of Tom Brady a lah lebronchation, the ghost of Michael Jordan.
Speaker 4 (46:50):
And that is a different conversation.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
But right now, today, on September thirteenth, in the year
of Our Lord twenty twenty five, and then again on
September fourteenth, then it was Setember fifteenth, Patrick Mahomes has
no rival in the NFL at this moment. And that
don't even mean because I don't think it's true that
he has been playing over the last maybe thirteen or
(47:15):
so games as the best quarterback in the NFL, not
even close to. It's the guys you were talking about,
you did Labar and Josh Allen both not going there yet.
But I've here what I understand the argument. I understand
the argument, yes, but I'm not going there.
Speaker 5 (47:34):
This is this past season.
Speaker 3 (47:36):
Mahomes was not a top five performer in the quarterbacks.
Speaker 4 (47:40):
When you look at the stats and everything, it all
goes into.
Speaker 5 (47:43):
It, and even the eye test.
Speaker 2 (47:44):
He again, that's where you lose me. I don't know
how you could watch. I don't know how you could
watch Jalen Hurts play a game like I thought. Okay,
take the first four games. That was first two games
we saw this season, Eagles and Cowboys and chief Chargers.
Right if my takeaway walking out of that Sunday night
(48:06):
or or Saturday night, after all those games were done. Okay,
First of all, number one, justin Herbert, that dude's really good. Yeah,
that dude is really good.
Speaker 5 (48:15):
That's my quarterback.
Speaker 2 (48:16):
Secondly, was if Patrick Mahomes played for the Eagles, they
would have beaten the Cowboys by thirty five.
Speaker 4 (48:24):
And I thought.
Speaker 2 (48:24):
Mahomes played the worst out of all four quarterbacks. And
that's of those four that play.
Speaker 3 (48:31):
You know, it's so funny that you say that because
watching the Chiefs and the Chargers game as a Chargers fan.
I was like, man, it's been a while since Mahomes
looked this good when I watched that game.
Speaker 2 (48:42):
Yeah, I mean, and I think when we say it's
been a while, it was really ugly in the super Bowl.
It was really ugly.
Speaker 5 (48:50):
In the Super Bowl, and it was there were some
ugly ones. Even last year.
Speaker 1 (48:53):
You were just like, how do.
Speaker 2 (48:54):
You know what? Though they won, it was what fifteen
of those ugly ones they were.
Speaker 5 (48:59):
I know, and they still to the Super Bowl?
Speaker 2 (49:01):
Right, So that's my thing. Yeah, I am with it
on that. The Chiefs were one of the luckiest teams
last year. All right, first team in NFL history. I
believe they hit three game winning field goals with three
different kickers. All Right, the Chiefs tackling their wrong wide receivers.
Knocking Patrick Mahomes said, now, I don't even want a
wide receiver one. I'm gonna blow his knee out. Rashi
(49:21):
Rice tackled him in a Division game, right, Travis Kelce
this year, he's I still don't want a wide receiver one.
I'm taking worthy out right now. I think if they
stopped tackling their wrong players will be in a lot
better shape now. Yeah, Botch snap miss fumble. There's all
types of things. Actually have a list not too far
away from all the different ways that the Chiefs happened
to get lucky in last years. In last year's NFL season, however,
(49:47):
here we go. Week one, Isaiah Likely's toe on the
end line out of bounds. Okay. Week two, controversial pass
interference call against the Bengals. Week ten, Broncos blocked field
goal to win the game, okay, which I honestly don't
know if that's so much luck because after the fact
they said, we scouted for this moment, and if you
(50:09):
watch the block field goal, they all ran over at
number sixty nine. I was like, four guys attacked once
they identified in a weak spot.
Speaker 4 (50:17):
But whatever you want to call it.
Speaker 2 (50:18):
Whatever. So that's three four game winning field goal that
doinked in on your second kicker against the Panthers of
all teams.
Speaker 4 (50:26):
Week five, I mean I was talking about the fifth one.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
On Week thirteen, the Raiders botched a snap again, so
they lost another one to the Raiders, and a walk
off field goal against the Chargers that doinked in.
Speaker 4 (50:37):
So two dooint in field goals right.
Speaker 2 (50:39):
Off the top of my that's six. Ye, So I'd
say all those one score games with the other way,
you know what, they finished ten and seven in the wildcard. Yes,
their summer, but you know what I'm saying, like like
for all, for as as lucky as the Chiefs were,
as horrible as Pactor play, if all those one score
games go the other way, their ten and seven and
(51:00):
they're knocking on the door for the wildcard, and you
know what sneaky feeling that, Like, I think the Chiefs
probably would have been Houston last year. You know, I
think the chief probably would be Houston last year.
Speaker 4 (51:10):
In that wildcard game.
Speaker 2 (51:11):
You know, I think or you know, the Pittsburgh steel
was a little bit of you know, a sacrifice at
the altar of the AFC for the Chiefs that they
had gotten to the wildcard. But forereas for all of
the platitudes that we make about the Chiefs, they still
would have been ten and seven wildcard, eleven and six wildcard.
(51:31):
And you bet against Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs, dare you?
Speaker 10 (51:35):
No?
Speaker 7 (51:35):
Never?
Speaker 3 (51:36):
I have never bet against Patrick Mahomes. And That's what
I'm talking about about the eye test Martin. Like last year,
for me personally, I may have said, man, they did
get lucky a couple of those games that joint with
the Chargers.
Speaker 5 (51:48):
Oh that was so annoying.
Speaker 3 (51:49):
But years prior it was like they just looked so dominant,
and then last year they looked so lucky. They just
looked that way, not that they were, they just looked
that way.
Speaker 4 (52:07):
Yeah, I'm just I'm not I'm not betting against Patricks.
Speaker 2 (52:11):
I get the opportunity as to take him as an
underdog at home for the second time in his career,
which to me is kind of crazy when you think
about it. Like, to me, the fall of the Chiefs
has been greatly exaggerated. There are people now like and
again they start owing too, they'll be that's that's tough.
Speaker 4 (52:33):
It's a tough road. This led to get back to
the super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (52:36):
But like, until somebody knocks him off officially, I'm still
with pat as the guy. And I understand why Eagles
fans love Jalen Hurts and this is it's it sounds
like damning with faint praise, but it's really not.
Speaker 4 (52:55):
To me.
Speaker 2 (52:56):
It's organizational, Uh, the opposite of incompetency or organizational just
streamlined and having a great through line and knowing that
our quarterback may not our quarterback is great at some things,
may not be great at other things.
Speaker 4 (53:11):
But this is our quarterback.
Speaker 2 (53:12):
So we're gonna figure out a way to implement him
as best as possible. And you know what they've empowered
him to where if you watch the tape from that
game against the Cowboys, you'll look and see like he's
taken off and running and everybody's okay with it except
for abaj Brown and Devonte Smith, Right, But that's like,
we're good with this is part of our offense. We
plan this, we schedule this, we want to play like this,
(53:35):
right because the Eagle strategy is we want to run
the ball, possess the ball, and so like and when
we're on defense, get after the quarterback. And so I
think that you saw the Eagles, they'll what they'll do
in this game is likely try to run the ball again,
sa Quan. They trade for Tank Bigsby is not because
they don't want to turn the run of hand the
ball up. They have four different running backs and the
(53:55):
ones hurt his ribs, but four running backs because they
don't want to throw, and they have a quarterback that's
okay with all of that. And when he does throw
to his credit makes big place.
Speaker 3 (54:06):
Yeah, he does, And I think that's that's what it
is where I feel like Jalen hurts like some people
want to give him a throw a dig at him
and say that he is a game manager And I
don't know why that's a bad thing because he still
does his job to an elite level. He doesn't have
high turnovers. You expect him to protect the ball even
(54:26):
though you're right he's limited.
Speaker 5 (54:27):
Maybe in some you know parts of the game that
Patrick Mahomes is not. Patrick Mahomes just.
Speaker 3 (54:32):
Looks like like he's not even trying and can do
it while everybody else is trying.
Speaker 2 (54:41):
We have a situation that most everybody who's been to
a high school reunion will be able to relate to you.
Remember that high school crush Montsie. I know, I know
you're spoken for now, but just you know, suspendableief for
a moment. I imagine you after a twenty year high
school reunion. You see that guy who is in math
class and you're like, man, this guy is the reason
(55:03):
why I got to see in math and he still
looks good.
Speaker 4 (55:05):
I wonder what he's up to now.
Speaker 2 (55:08):
We have an NFL version of that coming up next
where I'll tell you Martin Weis, Monty Biloghos, Fox Sports
Football Saturday, Martin Wisse, Monssey Bolanos coming to you live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. If you want to
join the conversation, you can hit us up on Twitter.
I'm at Martin Wis, Monsey is at Monseys. Well, it's
(55:29):
Scratch Addict saying what an awesome du Well thanks, Paul,
will be here for quite some time. Yeah, Lenora Sellers
just took a shot from a Vanderbilt linebacker.
Speaker 4 (55:40):
He is knocked out. I see a per Twitter on
R J.
Speaker 2 (55:43):
Young's FS one College Football writer that Laura Seller's knocked
out of the game. But it was a wicked shot
for a guy with a ton of potential. We'll have
another some more college football stuff coming up in just
a moment with Steve Schager at the bottom of the
hour with his update. But and uh monc. Kyle Shanahan's
getting that old thing back. So you may remember what thing.
(56:07):
Tell me Gather around, children, I'll tell you it was
a draft a few years ago. Yeah, everyone was in
a little bit of a COVID haze, not sure what
to do. We're all wearing masks and having trouble scouting quarterback.
Kyle Shanahan said, reportedly, honestly reported by to me that
I first heard it by Michael Lombardi, who's now the
GM of North Carolina Football. Got to win today because
(56:29):
Richmond that Kyle Shanahan was interested not in Trey Lance,
North Dakota State quarterback.
Speaker 11 (56:37):
But.
Speaker 2 (56:39):
In McCorkle Jones at that time coming off a national
championship at the University of Alabama, and Nick Saban said
Kyle Shanahan wanted to take him with the third overall pick.
Did not. Obviously, Mac went to New England with pick eleven.
I believe had went to the Pro Bowl his rookie year,
finished second and Rookie of the Year voting. I'll never
(57:00):
I had that ticket, then his second and Rookie of
the Year of voting. Then had an offensive coordinator, I
mean his defensive coordinator to be his offensive coordinator.
Speaker 4 (57:08):
Things got ugly in New England. Now Mac Jones back.
Speaker 2 (57:13):
With Kyle Shanahan. Kyle Shannon getting the chance to coach
the guy that he scouted and said he wanted four
years ago, because the guy who ultimately he paid a
ton of Money to Rock Party is out with turf toe,
which final point, turf toe and injury that really needs
a rebranding.
Speaker 5 (57:30):
What is that injury?
Speaker 2 (57:31):
It is?
Speaker 4 (57:32):
It is turf toe. Sounds like something that is.
Speaker 5 (57:35):
Very sounds like something you would get over quickly.
Speaker 2 (57:37):
Yeah, you should be able to manage that, managing it.
Speaker 5 (57:39):
Put it something in.
Speaker 6 (57:40):
I don't know exactly what it is, but it's it's uh,
it's considered a severe toe injury.
Speaker 2 (57:45):
Yeah, it's a really really bad toe. It's lingering. It's
hard to walk on. That'd be a better way of
putting it.
Speaker 7 (57:51):
Lingers.
Speaker 6 (57:51):
It's not really bad, like you can play through it
if it's mild enough, but it's it's very It lingers
and it doesn't go away.
Speaker 2 (57:59):
I like to see you have mild turf.
Speaker 6 (58:01):
Yeah, well I'm not playing through anything. I'm sitting out
of five the hiccups.
Speaker 3 (58:05):
But you're right, you're right because you hear tote turf
and you're like, okay, that sounds like what like an
ingrown toenail, Like you're gonna be fine.
Speaker 5 (58:13):
You're just gonna get a pedicure, Get a pedicure and
you'll be okay. But it always lingers.
Speaker 3 (58:17):
I think is the right word, but it always seems
worse than than that term.
Speaker 5 (58:22):
Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 3 (58:24):
Exactly know what level of expectation I have for Mac
Jones and the forty nine ers.
Speaker 5 (58:33):
What what is? What is?
Speaker 3 (58:35):
Kyle Shanahan obviously wanted him four years ago, but he
has also seen what he has done since then, and
now I don't think he's another option, not.
Speaker 5 (58:44):
Necessarily that he's gonna get what he wanted all along.
Speaker 2 (58:47):
You know the Derek School land is there three two one?
You know the Derek Zoolander school for kids who can't
read good. You have the Kyle Shanahan School for quarterbacks
who can't play good. Yeah, Sam Donald went there was
a backup, started one to two games with UH Minnesota,
won fourteen in a row, and got a brand new deal.
(59:08):
I think that mac Jones is gonna look fine. I
really do. I think we're gonna see the best football
that Mac Jones has played in about three years, which
it's not a lot of great out there, but I
think we're gonna see a Mac Jones that has much
more command of what's going on, like Mac Jones that
(59:28):
looks much closer to rookie year Mac Jones who again.
Speaker 5 (59:33):
Was not the worst.
Speaker 13 (59:35):
Yeah, I mean the technically made a Pro Bowl.
Speaker 2 (59:42):
But but to the point exactly at that.
Speaker 4 (59:45):
Time, you had a guy who thought maybe could be
your guy. I don't.
Speaker 2 (59:51):
I don't think that the fort nine is gonna trick
themselves into things that mac Jones can be their guy.
But I think he'll play well enough to where he
can get that Sam Donald's flyer deal next year. As Hey,
you can come in here, compete for a starting job,
Daniel Jones.
Speaker 4 (01:00:05):
You can come in here, compete for a starting job.
Speaker 2 (01:00:08):
If brock Perty's out for three or four weeks, like
they say, he might be two to five with turf toe,
I think mac Jones is gonna make himself a lot
of money of this next month.
Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
So here's here's my thing. I think you're saying mac
Jones is gonna be fine. I don't disagree with that.
It's he's walking into He's playing in a situation that
he's never played in when it came to the Patriots.
He's gonna have actual weapons around him, a Christian McCaffrey.
The field is gonna be more open for him than
he's probably ever experienced because of what the forty nine
ers are so him being fine? Yeah, but is this
(01:00:41):
gonna be something where you're gonna be like, okay, yep,
let's let's actually make a move for Mac Jones to
be the starting quarterback on a different team come next year.
Like you're saying he's gonna be better than fine or
you're fine?
Speaker 5 (01:00:52):
Is fine?
Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
Yeah? Well, I think if you go back to his
last years as a starter, he was abjectly terrible.
Speaker 5 (01:00:58):
He was, Yes, aside from his rookie year, it is struggled.
Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
Absactly terrible.
Speaker 5 (01:01:03):
It's not good.
Speaker 4 (01:01:03):
And we've seen guy like I don't think that's that
far fetch. You see, guys like.
Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
Baker Mayfield had opportunity to compete for the starting job
in Tampa. Obviously, now history is written by the winners.
He won it and took it by a stranglehold. Now
it's his by a long shot. But at the time
Baker Mayfield signed on like a while, I forget the
exact numbers, but it was very much a backup quarterback deal.
That's why he got extended, and then that's why they
(01:01:27):
redid his deal this year to make it more in
line with the cash value of some of the starting
quarterbacks in the NFL. So it's like like Derek Carr
was signed at the same time. You know, that was
at the time saying I would have rather signed Baker
Mayfield because you could get him.
Speaker 4 (01:01:42):
For ten million dollars.
Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
Now that's a long time That was a long time ago, obviously,
But to the point, is Sam Donald, right, he's in Minnesota,
had Sam Donald for I think one year, fourteen million
dollars as their starting quarterback. You know, I think that
mac Jones signing a one year, thirteen million dollars year
season is all the way in play, and he will
have an opportunity if he plays well these next three weeks,
(01:02:05):
he'll have an opportunity to compete for as a starter
somewhere else.
Speaker 5 (01:02:09):
You're not wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
We literally have seen this with so many other quarterbacks,
right that they've re vitalized their career some way, somehow.
Speaker 5 (01:02:16):
Look at Kirk Cousins.
Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
But then he goes to Atlanta and it doesn't work out,
and then he gets paid and it doesn't work out.
So it's just kind of like the team around him matters,
And I think, like, if mac Jones has success, what
kind of success are we talking about and how much
are we going to say it was Mac Jones and
not the situation around him.
Speaker 4 (01:02:35):
Well, when you look at that situation you got are
you out?
Speaker 2 (01:02:39):
Juwan Jennings. I'm not sure the latest on him. I
know he got hurt last game and missed time. Christian
McCaffrey had thirty some touches last week and was questionable
going into the game and he was fine. Kittles on
injured reserve. Well, I mean he was fine. He played
a whole football game. Who knows how he plays. I mean,
if it's questionable going in, I'll put it like this,
you don't answer any question is playing football. You still
(01:03:01):
got all the questions that you were questionable about going
into the game.
Speaker 4 (01:03:04):
You leave with them.
Speaker 3 (01:03:05):
Well, luckily they told us he was questionable, because last
year they told us he was fine, and people took
him number one overall pick in their fantasy team and
he never.
Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
Played somebody who I would draft number one of my
fantasy team every single year. Steeve di seger duh.
Speaker 11 (01:03:19):
Good evening once again, lady and gent Hi. We did
have a Georgia win in overtime in a comeback at
Tennessee Today. In college football, forty four forty one was
the final for the Bulldogs after they trailed twenty one
to seven in the first quarter and trailed thirty eight
to thirty with three minutes left in regulation. Each team
with about five hundred yards of offense in this one
(01:03:42):
Top twenty matchup in Notre Dame has Texas A and
M leading twenty eight to twenty four over the Irish
in the final minute before halftime. The game's in a
delay due to injury.
Speaker 4 (01:03:51):
Right now.
Speaker 11 (01:03:51):
A and M safety Bryce Anderson has been down on
the field still is after a collision on a tackle.
They've gone to commercial break and stretcher apparently is coming
out for the player halftime. Vanderbilt leads at number eleven
South Carolina fourteen to seven final seconds before halftime. Number
twenty Utah is still only up three to nothing at
(01:04:12):
Wyoming halftime. At number three LSU Tigers thirteen to ten
over Florida, long touchdown pass for the Gators was called
back earlier by holding another score. In the high scoring
game at seventeenth ranked Old Miss extra point'll make it
thirty eight to twenty eight for the home team against Darkansas.
Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
In the third.
Speaker 11 (01:04:30):
Ninth ranked Illinois had twenty four nothing against Western Michigan
late third quarter, Miami had a weather delay and now
they're two minutes to go finally, in a long day
at that stadium. Number five Miami leads forty two to

weather delay near the start. Number twenty one Texas Tech

short touchdown runs in the first quarter. At one point passing,
he threw ten straight incompletions. Georgia Tech wins against number

five yard field goal on the final play. Clemson is
one and two. It missed a fifty two yard field
goal attempt late in the first quarter. The easy victories
for Oklahoma and Alabama, for Michigan and Missouri. Fourteenth rank
DIAWA State one at Arkansas State twenty four sixteen Cyclones
(01:05:36):
lead with seventeen sixteen with nine minutes to go. Twenty
fourth Ranke Daubern over South Alabama thirty one fifteen to
the NFL. The Falcons bench kicker young Way coup so
John Parker Romo is up from the practice squad. The
Cleveland Browns activated rookie running back quinch On Judkins. Kansas

(01:05:59):
Another loss for the New York Mets tonight. Texas has
won six straight. Rangers got two runs in the eighth

The Mets have lost eight in a row today's loss
to closer Edwin Diaz. The Rangers started today just two

(01:06:22):

place LA two and a half games over the Padres,
and the WNBA Playoffs starts Sunday.
Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
Back to you, thanks Steve. Ten straight incompletion.
Speaker 11 (01:06:58):
Yep, that's hard to do.
Speaker 2 (01:07:00):
Actually, it's really hard to do.
Speaker 11 (01:07:03):
With the passing game these days, not just college football
but in football in general. That is pretty tough.
Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
Like you couldn't now, I didn't see a single one
of these tense right incompletions. But if you're telling me that,
Steve's Arkesian, who has been to the college football playoff
two of the last three years or the last years
in a row, it's just like, you know what, we're
not gonna do.
Speaker 4 (01:07:23):
We're not gonna run a screen. We're not gonna run
a v You.
Speaker 11 (01:07:26):
Remember last week or in the Big Game two weeks ago,
he did miss screens.
Speaker 2 (01:07:30):
That's my point, that's my point, Steve. I'm thinking that
Steve's Arkeysan at some point, maybe on incompletion number four,
maybe on in completion number six, maybe on a competion
number eight, was like, I gotta draw something up easy.
Speaker 3 (01:07:40):
Yeah, it is a questionable uh move by the coach there.
Speaker 11 (01:07:46):
Or like somebody in the booth has got to say
to somebody on the sidelines. You know he's up to
like eight or nine incompletions in a row. Can we
just give him an easy one?
Speaker 2 (01:07:55):
Anything?
Speaker 11 (01:07:56):
Yeah, It's like what they say in basketball. You just
need to see the shot going of the line something,
give them the layup.
Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
So monson a story of college football. This is how
I know you're kind of This is a new neighborhood
for you. So this we do this a lot, all right,
the transitive property of college football because everybody the NFL
plays everybody right right just about not so much in
college football actually a lot of common opponents. So on
(01:08:23):
and so forth.
Speaker 4 (01:08:23):
You look at week one results to the week three
results and so on. Week one.
Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
UTEP University of Texas l passal quarterback by Malachi Nelson
of Los Alamito's fame. If you're familiar with Southern California,
gave up twenty eight points to Utah State.
Speaker 4 (01:08:47):
There's only one NFL player I can think of.
Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
From Utah State, Jordan Love. Utah State had twenty eight
points on UTEP. The University of Texas at twenty.
Speaker 5 (01:09:02):
Seven was Matthew McConaughey.
Speaker 2 (01:09:03):
There, all right, all right, all right.
Speaker 5 (01:09:08):
Yeah, no, it's not good. It's not good, Martin. But
there we can't. He can't be that bad.
Speaker 4 (01:09:15):
Yes he can.
Speaker 5 (01:09:17):
There's no there's no way you've been lying to me
for all these years.
Speaker 3 (01:09:20):
There's I have there's I know, I know you think
I was bamboozled by Bryce Young. I there's no way
Texas has been bamboozling us for the last three years.
Speaker 5 (01:09:30):
That this guy is the guy.
Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
Well, this is the thing that honestly always kind of
got me. And I called I said this before after
his first start arch.
Speaker 5 (01:09:40):
Manning against Ohio. Yeah, but that's hard to that's hard
to judge. No, don't. You wouldn't judge.
Speaker 4 (01:09:45):
Oh, it wasn't because it was not hard to judge.
It was hard to judge in.
Speaker 5 (01:09:48):
Enemy territory, your first star.
Speaker 4 (01:09:51):
Come on, No, I'm giving you the way.
Speaker 5 (01:09:54):
The score was what fourteen to seven? It wasn't even
that bad.
Speaker 4 (01:09:57):
They shouldn't.
Speaker 5 (01:09:58):
I just it wasn't even of a score.
Speaker 2 (01:10:00):
Oh my, what has changed? And archsman's game between Ohio
State today and UTEP today. Absolutely jet.
Speaker 6 (01:10:08):
That's that's the problem, is that he hasn't. But we're
just saying that we're giving him a little grace for
Ohio State in a vacuum.
Speaker 5 (01:10:15):
And that's what I'm saying now.
Speaker 6 (01:10:16):
That we've seen it hasn't progressed. Correct, We've already been
over this. Why is because it was his first start,
his first time throwing passes outside of Austin.
Speaker 2 (01:10:24):
He's been in long Exactly, being on the bench for
two years isn't the same as playing two years of experience.
Speaker 6 (01:10:32):
You can equate it to maybe half a season of
playing time.
Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
Being on the bench play to half a season of
playing time. But what I also will equate it to
is not being good enough to beat out the guy
in front of you. Because I never understood and I
never bought buy or sell checked the podcast for it
to the bottom of last hour. I never once bought
the idea that he's biding his time. That is not
a thing that exists in competitive sports unless we're playing
(01:10:59):
in the middle school level, where everybody's got to play
a quarter Quinn Shark has chances at Chips the last
two seasons.
Speaker 4 (01:11:07):
And he left Quinn viewers.
Speaker 2 (01:11:10):
It's like Texas has been held back at the quarterback
position for the last three seasons.
Speaker 6 (01:11:16):
No, I mean, are you trying to say that Arch
has looked bad behind the scenes and.
Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
Stark knew it he had to have.
Speaker 6 (01:11:22):
Then why wouldn't he have got someone in the portal
like and why would he have gone into a must
win season like this where their national title favorites with
a guy that he doesn't have any confidence And it
doesn't make sense.
Speaker 5 (01:11:31):
It doesn't, okay, but it does.
Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
Let me tell you why. Let me tell you why.
Who in college football has been the highest paid player
for the last three years or just on average? It's
it's it's it's very similar to win. An NFL team
drafts a guy in the first round or second round,
and maybe the undrafted guys may should be getting more
(01:11:59):
more and more or playing time. If you do that,
it isn't that mission that you as the GM were wrong.
Speaker 4 (01:12:08):
Do you know what I'm saying?
Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
Like, Like, if Sark can't figure out how to work
with Arch Manning, it was a again, a guy who
has been five good quarters away from a national title,
a national championship win the last two seasons. You spent
how much on your backup quarterback when you could have
had a guy in here who could have won. Will
(01:12:31):
Howard was the starting quarterback of the national championship team
last year. He could have been got by a school
like Texas. That's why, that's why Sark is gonna die
on this thing, because it doesn't make sense.
Speaker 3 (01:12:43):
Though I hear what you're saying, perfect example with the
GM and the NFL, I totally, but he can still
there is still a season, there is still a future.
So if he realized he is not what I thought,
why would he just be going through the motions with
arch Manning?
Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
Because if you can to the point, this team is
two and one right now, almost beat Ohio State with
the quarterback they we're afraid to throw the ball with,
Like seriously, they could be undefeated right now. If arch
Manning had completed, off the top of my head five
more passes, yep, this team would be undefeated and probably
rolling through this. And it's like, listen, maybe by the
(01:13:20):
midway through the season, you got okay his first year
or whatever. Part of the reason why they didn't open
up Bryce Underwood all the way against Oklahoma was the idea, oh,
it's early in the season. We have to figure this
out or we're gonna be able to know. We don't
want to ruin his confidence, so on and so forth.
The problem is Arch has been terrible. There's been no
flash in the first three games.
Speaker 5 (01:13:39):
And you're not wrong. I agree with.
Speaker 2 (01:13:42):
That, but that's why he's dying on the hill like
the Michigan played right. Look, if Jake Garcia was starting
for Michigan right now, you're paying Bryce Tarted with ten
million dollars, I'd be ready to burn down at arbor.
What are we talking about. You don't pay him that
much if you can't play, and he paid Arch Manning
all that money, and it looks like you can't play.
And if I'm sark, I gotta figure that out.
Speaker 3 (01:14:04):
Yeah, you also paid him because you knew it was
gonna attract attention and it did you know.
Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
What else, But you know you could have paid h
Curtis Rourke last year for Indiana and maybe won a championship.
Speaker 5 (01:14:15):
You make some super valid points.
Speaker 3 (01:14:17):
I just cannot believe that he is just going through
the motions because he doesn't want to admit that he
was wrong.
Speaker 5 (01:14:22):
There's no way.
Speaker 6 (01:14:22):
I just think, yeah, he could have got a backup
caliber guy out of the portal, even if it was
someone who he views as worse than arch Manning. It's
just some sort of insurance if he was that already.
Speaker 3 (01:14:35):
Correct he was, if you already saw what you are
saying Martin behind the scenes, there's no way he would
not have true.
Speaker 6 (01:14:41):
It's just malpractice as a head coach if you don't
if you think your quarterback isn't good enough and you
can't get the most out of him, then you should
have added someone.
Speaker 7 (01:14:49):
So why wouldn't he have done that?
Speaker 4 (01:14:50):
Are you gonna be the guy to oftensibly cut arch Manning.
Speaker 6 (01:14:54):
You're not cutting arch Manning, You're adding a backup quarterback
in the portal.
Speaker 7 (01:14:57):
That's not what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (01:14:58):
Okay, you're gonna be the guy to bench arch man
because I mean, I would have done it if I'm Sork,
but I didn't that. This is my last point on it.
Sark has made no seriously, they have. If you are
a fan of Texas, you have been sold a bill
of goods that you had a guy in Arch Manning,
who is going to be able to get you over
the hump? This is the worst quarterback play Texas has
(01:15:20):
had in the last three seasons. Like those two ideas
don't jive, and the only person at the end of
the day is going to be stuck holding any level
of responsibility is going to be the guy who said
this is the guy that can get us over the hump.
That's Steve Sarkisian coming up next, we'll play a game
(01:15:41):
of Who You Got? This is Manzi's first time doing it.
Who You Got?
Speaker 3 (01:15:45):
I believe, I believe it is and it's not gonna
go well guys, So.
Speaker 2 (01:15:48):
Maybe the last time we'll see a lot of time.
Speaker 3 (01:15:52):
Can I use a lifeline? It's Steve Disager available as
a lifeline.
Speaker 5 (01:15:55):
No, okay, great?
Speaker 9 (01:15:56):
Well.
Speaker 2 (01:15:57):
Manzi's debut edition of Who You Got better than Arts
Manning's debut at Ohio State, I hope, So tune in
to find out. Martin Weiss Monsei Bolanos on the Fox
Sports Football Saturday, LSU and Florida going at a USC
Purdue Perdue with the luckiest touchdown you'll see. Let's see
(01:16:18):
if you and me get lucky here. Monsi let's play
a game of who you got?
Speaker 6 (01:16:22):
Okay, who you got? Just a quick synopsis here. I'm
thinking of someone from around the world of sports. It
could be a player, coach, GM, whatever, someone having to
do with sports. I'm gonna give you, guys clues to
try and help narrow it down. Each clue should hopefully
make it easier, and by the final clue should hopefully
know who it is.
Speaker 7 (01:16:37):
Guys, this is ready.
Speaker 5 (01:16:39):
This is not what did he say, brain, brain surgery
or rocket science? What was he intro?
Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
This is either it's a rocket science for me.
Speaker 5 (01:16:46):
For me, it's gonna be rocket science. Let's go.
Speaker 7 (01:16:48):
Okay, let's go all right.
Speaker 6 (01:16:50):
First clue brought us clue this guy was a first
round pick in the NFL draft.
Speaker 4 (01:16:55):
First round pick NFL draft Ricky Williams.
Speaker 3 (01:16:58):
Nope, not Ricky Williams, Bryce Young.
Speaker 7 (01:17:03):
Not Bryce Young. That would have been insane. Snipe.
Speaker 6 (01:17:05):
All right, Next clue, he's a nine time Pro bowler,
four time All Pro.
Speaker 2 (01:17:10):
So do Pro Bowls count now? Because of a minute ago
they didn't count anymore.
Speaker 5 (01:17:14):
Because you know they really don't.
Speaker 2 (01:17:15):
Nine times to you, nine time Pro bowler, four time
All Pro. In order to make the Pro Bowl nine times.
You got to be a skilled player. I think you
got to probably be a quarterback unless you're a tackle.
Four time All Pro, nine time Pro bowler. First round
NFL draft, Payton Manning, not Peyton Manning.
Speaker 7 (01:17:39):
Aaron Rodgers not Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 4 (01:17:41):
To be clear, none of these things that I say
are a fact.
Speaker 2 (01:17:43):
They's just how I feel.
Speaker 3 (01:17:45):
No, I was with you though, I that's my my
my thought process was going with you.
Speaker 6 (01:17:50):
Next clear, he played for three different NFL teams in
his career, and I'm not going to tell you whether
he is still playing or not.
Speaker 2 (01:17:56):
Three played for threeams. Not gonna tell me if he's
still playing or not. Nine time Pro bowler. Are there
any nine time Pro bowlers active today who will play?
I would Matt Stafford would qualify likely, but he hasn't
played for three teams. Russell Wilson is the answer. No,
(01:18:18):
why Russell Wilson was four time All problem was that
first round pick either.
Speaker 5 (01:18:22):
I literally was going towards Russell Wilson as well, So
it's funny that you went that way. Three NFL teams.
That's where I'm stopped at.
Speaker 6 (01:18:30):
Three NFL teams can also just pass and ask for
the next clue, but might as well throw it again.
Speaker 3 (01:18:34):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, No, I'm gonna pass because I
really was going towards Russell Wilsons.
Speaker 5 (01:18:41):
So he threw me off a little bit.
Speaker 6 (01:18:42):
All right, Next clue, this should help a little more.
He's hit double digit sacks in five different seasons.
Speaker 2 (01:18:52):
I know the answer.
Speaker 5 (01:18:53):
Let's TJ.
Speaker 6 (01:18:56):
Watt, Not TJ Watt. This is von Miller, not von Miller.
Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
Get out of here. No way, it's not von Miller.
Speaker 5 (01:19:05):
That was a great clue. The three teams to me off.
You're right, You're right on von Miller.
Speaker 6 (01:19:09):
Next clue would also pertain to von Miller. He's a
former Defensive Player of the Year. But again it is
not von Miller.
Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
Former dpo I first round probably he double digit sacks?
Speaker 4 (01:19:22):
How many years?
Speaker 6 (01:19:24):
Five different seasons.
Speaker 2 (01:19:27):
Five different seasons with double digit sacks on three.
Speaker 5 (01:19:31):
NFL teams, the three NFL teams.
Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
Davian Clowney, Not to Davian Clowney. No way, a four
time All Pro.
Speaker 4 (01:19:38):
Definitely not.
Speaker 6 (01:19:39):
There's always one clue that just doesn't work. Anything monts here.
I can give you guys the next clue.
Speaker 5 (01:19:44):
This is the next clue.
Speaker 6 (01:19:45):
He was drafted in twenty fourteen. Lil Khalil Mack is correct.
Speaker 4 (01:19:49):
There you go.
Speaker 6 (01:19:50):
Job, great job, partner, Khalil Mack of Monsey's Chargers. He
was drafted in twenty fourteen. The last few news his
UH DePoy Award came in twenty sixteen. That's when he
won it. He was a top five overall pick by
the Raiders. He's played for the Raiders, Bears, and Chargers
and he's made at least three three Pro Bowls on
(01:20:10):
each of those teams.
Speaker 2 (01:20:12):
UH.
Speaker 6 (01:20:12):
And then last clue would have been he's currently playing
for the Chargers.
Speaker 5 (01:20:16):
I have and then you know what we would have
gone in. Yeah, it's a good job. I'm gonna take
this also as a victory for me.
Speaker 7 (01:20:21):
Absolutely your team.
Speaker 2 (01:20:24):
I have to look this up real quick, but Khalil
Mack had was it last.
Speaker 6 (01:20:28):
Year twenty twenty three, he had seventeen sacks if that's okay.
Speaker 2 (01:20:33):
Three He had seventeen sacks and I think I want
to say he sacked Aidan O'Connell for seven of them.
Speaker 6 (01:20:41):
I remember there was one game where he I think
he had like six sacks or something in one game.
Speaker 4 (01:20:46):
Yeah, Aidan O'Connell.
Speaker 2 (01:20:47):
I think he literally kept Khalil Max's career alive for that.
I mean, you gotta love that. Gotta love that.
Speaker 1 (01:20:56):
Don't listen the Fox Sports radio radio.
Speaker 2 (01:21:00):
That's right on the Fox Sports Football Saturday is LSU
crosses into the end zone, Western Michigan Shire hasn't this
Illinois is pounding them.
Speaker 4 (01:21:08):
It's Illinois.
Speaker 2 (01:21:10):
This year's Indiana, that random team from the Big Ten
that makes the playoffs, because we've got to have four
teams in the Big Ten in the playoffs. You know,
by definition anore Dame fourteen or fourteen minutes left in
the third quarter, but right now trailing Texas A and
M another Dame on the verge of ohe two. But
you know, according to these two around everybody around me,
(01:21:31):
season not over it. I'm telling you right now, Clemson
season is over.
Speaker 5 (01:21:36):
In Cancun already. They're fishing in your eyes.
Speaker 2 (01:21:40):
Oh yeah, they're fishing.
Speaker 3 (01:21:41):
They're no, they're not, they're not very He's tripping, snorkeling, schripping.
Speaker 4 (01:21:47):
Scuba diving.
Speaker 2 (01:21:48):
Can I get another man, big Clemson energy right now? Monty?
Did you pick games week one just for fun, by
chance or just you know, how do you do any I.
Speaker 5 (01:22:01):
Did not for a week one. No, okay, yeah, did
you How did you do? How did it go?
Speaker 2 (01:22:06):
It's two and three?
Speaker 5 (01:22:06):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (01:22:07):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
Three for you?
Speaker 5 (01:22:08):
That's not too bad. Yeah, so it's starting off okay.
Speaker 2 (01:22:10):
If you keep them in that way, you'll just finished
seventeen games under five hundred. With that streak in mind.
Speaker 5 (01:22:17):
You'll be in Cancun.
Speaker 2 (01:22:18):
Let's make some picks, Alrightyan, pick five games at random,
and they better be good ones.
Speaker 5 (01:22:26):
They better be good ones.
Speaker 6 (01:22:28):
All right, Yeah, I've got five games here for you, guys.
Let's start with this.
Speaker 4 (01:22:31):
Now, we're picking against the spread for the.
Speaker 6 (01:22:33):
Record, yes, and I will provide the spread for you guys. So,
first first game here, Bears at Lions. Detroit is favored
by six and a half points. Who you got Manzi
will start.
Speaker 2 (01:22:45):
With you, go ahead, okay.
Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
So I really do not believe in the Bears. Not
that they can't change my mind. I just right now,
I don't believe in them. I don't know Ben Johnson
and Caleb Williams relationship. So, and I think the Lions
last week did not perform the way they can perform.
Speaker 5 (01:23:03):
So I am taking Detroit against the spread.
Speaker 4 (01:23:07):
I'm gonna go with.
Speaker 2 (01:23:07):
The Bears to cover the six and a half. But
the Lions will win this game. I think it'll be
a backdoor cover type of situation. I think the lines
are gonna come out. This game will show me a
lot about Detroit.
Speaker 5 (01:23:19):
Yeah, I agree, I agree?
Speaker 4 (01:23:22):
All right?
Speaker 6 (01:23:22):
Next up, Bills at Jets. Buffalo is favored by six
and a half points as well. Who you got.
Speaker 5 (01:23:30):
Ye six and a half? Six and a half is
the line correct?
Speaker 2 (01:23:36):
This is at Jets, right.
Speaker 5 (01:23:38):
This is at Jets. Yes, I.
Speaker 3 (01:23:43):
Yeah, I'm going to take the Jets to cover the spread.
But I New York does not win this game. But
I do think the Jets covered the spread. Maybe I'm
buying too early on what the Jets showed last week.
Maybe I'm buying a little early to think that they're
going to cover the six and a half because I'm
looking at a different spread that's five and a half.
If you're going six and a half, I say they
cover that. Buffalo wins, So in New York, I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:24:04):
Taking the Jets as well to cover that six and
a half. I think Buffalo got bailed out as much
as you can say by Josh Allen. I know that's
part of the game plan. Yeah, to get bailed out
by Josh Allen. It feels like, but more concerning for me,
they can't stop the run and Breeze Hall looked like
he was a guy running for a contract last year,
and Justin Field's very athletic. Give me the Jets to
(01:24:26):
cover the six and a half, all right?
Speaker 6 (01:24:28):
Next up, you know I'm gonna give the time now,
So ten am Pacific time on Fox Seahawks at Steelers.
Speaker 4 (01:24:34):
The one o'clock for the rest of the country.
Speaker 6 (01:24:36):
Yes, we'll see ten am Pacific time, one o'clock Eastern.
So Seahawks at Steelers. Pittsburgh is favored by three and
a half points. Manci who you got?
Speaker 3 (01:24:45):
You know, I was not high on the Seahawks coming
into this season, even in their division.
Speaker 5 (01:24:49):
I just I am not high on the Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
And maybe again, maybe I'm I'm buying too early on
the Steelers based on what I saw Aaron Rodgers do
last year. But I'm going to take the Steelers to
cover the spread this one.
Speaker 2 (01:25:01):
I'm taking the three and a half as well with Pittsburgh.
I don't like laying that half of that half. That's nasty.
And this very well is going to be a game
because I took that half. That's gonna end twenty three
to twenty Pittsburgh winning. But I just think Pittsburgh later
in the season is when they'll start to fall off.
That's an older team. They will fall off down the stretch.
(01:25:23):
They'll still make the playoffs, in my opinion, be a
ten win team, but they'll start out like Tomlin did
last year, hot, start cold, finish.
Speaker 7 (01:25:31):
Yeah all right.
Speaker 6 (01:25:32):
Next up Monday Night Football, the first of two Monday
Night games. Interestingly enough, yeah, Bucks at Texans Houston is
favored by two and a half points at home, Monty
who you got?
Speaker 2 (01:25:43):
You know?
Speaker 3 (01:25:43):
I I don't know if it's just my love for
Baker Mayfield aha, but I'm high on the Buccaneers. I
know he doesn't have his preferred offensive weapons fully intact
right now.
Speaker 5 (01:25:55):
I know Tristan Wurf's is out.
Speaker 3 (01:25:57):
I get all that, but I'm still high on the
on the Buccaneers and I I'm gonna take Tampa to
cover the spread.
Speaker 2 (01:26:04):
I'm taking the Buccaneers as well. Big part because was.
Speaker 5 (01:26:07):
That I said win.
Speaker 2 (01:26:09):
Oh, Okay, there you go. I'm taking the Bucks because
I'm like what the Texans put on tape is.
Speaker 7 (01:26:17):
Concerning it doesn't look pretty.
Speaker 2 (01:26:19):
Their inability to block up front, I get it, Brandon
Fitz Jared versus all of that. Their inability to block
up flat was an issue, and I think it'll persist.
Give me, give me the Buccaneers.
Speaker 7 (01:26:31):
All right.
Speaker 6 (01:26:32):
Last one, the second of the Monday night doubleheader, Chargers
at Raiders. Chargers are favored by three and a half points.
Who you got, Monci?
Speaker 7 (01:26:39):
I think I know?
Speaker 3 (01:26:40):
Oh yeah, No, Chargers are covering the spread. It's gonna
end on a pick six with the Chargers winning.
Speaker 5 (01:26:45):
That that's how it's gonna go.
Speaker 2 (01:26:47):
I'll take Doradus yeah, to cover this spread for sure.
I like what they did against the Patriots. I like
their offense. Geno Smith is better than people give them
credit for. And and the biggest thing is they just
have organizational competency. And that's gonna get you much closer
(01:27:07):
in a lot of games than they did last year.
Speaker 5 (01:27:09):
That's a great point.
Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
All right, Let's go ahead and pick the atomic dog,
the one upset that we think is happening. That's right.
It's hard for the atomic dogs. The time when we
Monsy tried to pick that underdog that upset that will
ruin your money. Line parlay that one that you go
to work on Monday and say, wait a minute, you
didn't have this on the money line.
Speaker 4 (01:27:29):
What were you doing wrong?
Speaker 7 (01:27:30):
Moncey ladies, First, oh thank you.
Speaker 5 (01:27:33):
Listen.
Speaker 3 (01:27:35):
I am going to take the upset here of the
Colts defeating the Broncos at home. Broncos are favored by
one and a half, andbe you have a different line,
but the line I'm looking at right now is one
and a half. And the thing is, like both Broncos,
they have a good defense, but the Colts also have
a stingy defense.
Speaker 5 (01:27:54):
And I think that Daniel Jones is coming off.
Speaker 3 (01:27:57):
A high and he for the first time, is in
a situation where he can thrive. Whether it's because he
has Jonathan Taylor to maybe open up the field for him,
I don't know what it is, but I think Bonix,
like other sophomores, may experience a bit of a slump.
I am taking the Colts to win this one straight
(01:28:17):
up at home against the Broncos for.
Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
My atomic dog. You know what, Monsey. I like the Buccaneers.
I like that a lot. I do think that they
went outright over the Houston Texans. I do not like
your Indianapolis Colts so much. However, you know what, I'm
gonna do it. I'm gonna do it.
Speaker 4 (01:28:40):
I'm doing it.
Speaker 2 (01:28:41):
I'm doing it.
Speaker 5 (01:28:42):
Do it.
Speaker 2 (01:28:43):
Aaron Glenn in the New York Jets, Baby Wow comes
down and Listen loses for the second year in a row,
sneakily in New Jersey against the Jets. You remember Xavier
Gibson no longer a Jet as recently of this week
kick return? Oh was it put returning it over.
Speaker 7 (01:29:04):
Town two years ago? It was not last year.
Speaker 2 (01:29:07):
That was two years Yeah, damn. That was after Rogers
to that hard. Well, anyway, it would have fit better
if it had been otherwise. However, I'm still going with
the Jets so that. I really liked the way they played.
I thought they should have beat Pittsburgh last week. And
again it's hard to bet on if not happening. But
as long as Josh Allen doesn't turn super nova again, right,
(01:29:30):
the Bills will? I mean the Bills lost by two
scores last week. I think the Jets a six and
a half. I love money Line, I like a whole lot,
so I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:29:39):
I see where you're coming from. I see where you're
coming from because you're right, I don't. I don't know
how Buffalo is going to stop the run. I'm not sure.
I don't know what their plan is.
Speaker 2 (01:29:48):
Uh, well, I think they should have a better plan
than they did last week, because last week the plan
was wait for Derek Henry to fumble, which he has
fumbled less than seven per.
Speaker 4 (01:30:00):
Of all of his character.
Speaker 5 (01:30:01):
Yeah, I know that that was a fluke. That's a
fluke for him.
Speaker 2 (01:30:04):
You know, you want to hear a wild stat.
Speaker 5 (01:30:07):
Throw it at us.
Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
The last time the Kansasity Chiefs had a thousand yard
rusher was twenty seventeen. You know who it was?
Speaker 4 (01:30:14):
And he guesses, I'll tell you what this is, you said,
the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (01:30:18):
Yeah, the Chiefs. Just name I'll bet you this, if
you name four Chiefs running backs, you'll find it.
Speaker 7 (01:30:24):
Kareem Hunt there you got done.
Speaker 2 (01:30:26):
Still on the roster. Mind you, twenty seventeen had one
thousand yards for the Chiefs, still on the roster.
Speaker 6 (01:30:33):
Why wouldn't they still on that, I'd say, on the
roster again? Yeah, because he had a little stint on
the Browns there in between.
Speaker 4 (01:30:38):
However you like, however you want to frame it.
Speaker 2 (01:30:40):
He's back seven years later, still there there's one guy
in the NFL who had over one thousand yards of
twenty seventeen.
Speaker 4 (01:30:48):
He's still in the NFL. Do you know who it is.
Speaker 2 (01:30:51):
Or who's been been there? Kareem hunting somebody else? I
suppose Alvin Kamaro.
Speaker 7 (01:30:56):
Nope, no idea.
Speaker 4 (01:30:58):
Derrick Henry could have seen that one coming.
Speaker 3 (01:31:00):
As just talking about yeah, sorry, before we move on,
why what what?
Speaker 5 (01:31:07):
What's? What were you impressed about with the Broncos last week?
Speaker 3 (01:31:10):
Because you're you don't like my Colts pick over the
Broncos when when Denver was underwhelming last year, I think
that Indianapolis was overwhelming.
Speaker 4 (01:31:18):
I think Denver's defense is legit.
Speaker 2 (01:31:19):
You already have a Defensive Player of the Year and
Patrick Tan and I've already put a little cash down
to Nick Benito to win the Defensive Player of the
Year as well. So right there, that defense solid offensively.
Speaker 5 (01:31:32):
Yeah, it's where it didn't look pretty offensively.
Speaker 2 (01:31:35):
I think that Sean Payton, who is I seem to.
Speaker 4 (01:31:40):
Be one of the few people in the media who
hold this opinion.
Speaker 2 (01:31:43):
But to me, Sean Payton's were the best coaches in
the NFL by a long shot. Getting into Week one,
they had a lot of different formations. They they it
was very first day of school for Sean Payton. I
want to show off my new outfit. I think that
once we get into week two and three for you'll
see him dial it back a little bit, run the
(01:32:03):
ball a little bit more. And honestly, if you go
back and watch that fourth down that he went for,
bow Knicks threw it to the wrong guy because Courtland
Sutton was but Booty naked open on the.
Speaker 4 (01:32:14):
Other side of the field on the Crossers.
Speaker 2 (01:32:16):
So I think bow Knicks is gonna have a little
bit of moment where he comes down to earth a bit,
is not as not nearly as aggressive as he was,
but also too Tights have a good defense. And finally,
my final point why I don't like your pick, I
think the Dolphins have a The Dolphins said to me
have a better than fifty percent chance to win less
(01:32:39):
than four games. Yeah, right, you know what I'm saying. Like,
I know that there's a lot of numbers, and I
think I think they are going to be the worst
team in football by a long margin, especially with the
Bills in the division. I think the Jets are going
to be better, as I just outlined and uh and
the Patriots. A lot of people had them as a
team that was you know, Mike Vrabel and so on.
(01:33:00):
The Dolphins are gonna be the worst team in football.
I think that looking at them, I am giving the
Colts a Dolphins tax, Like, hey, you telling me that
the same Daniel Jones that got cut Week twelve of
last year is just so the change of scenery was
so good that he is just now like the most
(01:33:23):
accurate quarterback in the first half in the history of football.
I don't, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:33:28):
I'm not saying that we're I'm going to be saying
this in six weeks, but right now I am buying
the Daniel Jones change of scenery is that good.
Speaker 5 (01:33:36):
But I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:33:36):
I don't know if it's gonna last. I will say that,
but right now and then just the Broncos. The Broncos
were underwhelming last week.
Speaker 2 (01:33:44):
Listen, it's a week to week league.
Speaker 5 (01:33:45):
It is a week two weeks. I might change my mind,
but yeah, I was just curious.
Speaker 2 (01:33:48):
It's a week two week league. But that's why I'm
out on. I just don't think that, like for sure,
I hear you, and I honestly though what I what
I will say after watching about the Colts positively, that's
a team that has a real chance to win the division. Yeah,
that's a real chance to win that South because I
think the Jaguars steak.
Speaker 5 (01:34:08):
Yeah, I don't see it either. I'm not into the
Jogs either.
Speaker 2 (01:34:11):
And we've seen from the Texans. I know it's only
been obviously, we're only one weekend, but it seems that
a lot of the problems that they had last season
are still pervasing into this season. Interesting times in Indianapolis,
but coming up next it's one of those uh, friends
(01:34:31):
turned foes we get a lot in the NFL. The
most recent addition is Sunday who wins We get to
it next? Friends turned foes both need a win. With

Fox Shorts Radio is one of the presets in the
iHeart app, so it always pops up at the top
of your screen.
Speaker 4 (01:35:02):
Or just do like I do, never ever, ever, ever.
Speaker 2 (01:35:06):
Change it. That's my plan. Ben Johnson changed. Ben Johnson
changed and changed in division, going from offensive coordinator the
Detroit Lions to head coaches the Chicago Bears. Both of
these teams had high hopes going into the season, Lions
with some questions as they've replaced both coordinators, the Bears
(01:35:28):
with hope abound as the genius head coach signs up
with the Caleb Williams and the ultimately great quarterback that
people have said for years and years and years. Both
teams zero and to one Moncey, who needs it more?
Speaker 3 (01:35:44):
I don't even think this is like a real question,
you guys. Obviously who needs it more is the Detroit Lions.
And I say this because the Lions have been on
an upward trajectory the last couple of years and they
have fallen short, but every time have managed to get
a little bit closer. So now, even though they lost
(01:36:04):
their coordinators, you can't I don't expect Dan Campbell to
completely change their offense. They just have to get situated.
To me, the Bears, how did their season end? I'm
sure how many did they win last year?
Speaker 9 (01:36:18):
Well?
Speaker 2 (01:36:18):
Five?
Speaker 5 (01:36:19):
Okay, so if they deliver and do better, what eight wins. Yeah,
that is still doable. They do not. To me, There's
no question it's the Lions.
Speaker 2 (01:36:31):
I agree, it's gonna be the Lions for me as well,
mainly because what you put on tape.
Speaker 4 (01:36:38):
Week one was real.
Speaker 2 (01:36:41):
The score was worse than the game right because there
was a pick six that got turned back from a
defensive holding.
Speaker 4 (01:36:46):
It would have been thirteen seventeen in the third quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:36:49):
You're right in there and you're live in an action.
You can't go on with two for a team that
is needs to make a playoff run because you have
gone backwards in the playoffs from NFC Championship to first
round or first round by then bump in the second
round by the Commanders. I thought it was slooky ton
of defensive injuries last year, but guess what, it's football.
Speaker 4 (01:37:10):
Welcome to the NFL. This is how it goes.
Speaker 2 (01:37:12):
If you don't have the depth, you're not going to
continue to win and be successful. I need to know
what type of guy are you, Dan Campbell. Are you
a Kyle Shanahan head coach or you a Nick Sirianni
head coach? Kyle Shanahan. He loses his assistance reload right boom,
we'll figure it out. Even when they said he quote
unquote made a mistake hiring the defensive coordinator and they
(01:37:35):
were in the Super Bowl, right then, team got a
little bit older. I don't think they're gonna make Super
Bowl this year. But when that window, that team was competing,
whether it was Garoppolo or Party at quarterback or you.
Nick Sirianni. Nick Sirianni three years ago is into Super Bowl.
Nick Gianni two years ago started out ten to one
and went on a precipitous fall from grace, losing in
(01:37:58):
the first round to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and then
the next year won the Zuper Bowl. Why they had
bad coordinators that year? In between what type of coach
are you? Dan Campbell? What type of coach are you?
And talk about what type of star are you? Monsie
Belangi and her Saturday standouts?
Speaker 3 (01:38:16):
You know what, Barron, here, I am trying to find
maybe a team for me to become a fan of. Right,
I told you I went to Kelsey Fullerton.
Speaker 5 (01:38:25):
We didn't have a football team. So I can't just
be an SC fan. Why I have no connection to it.
Speaker 3 (01:38:30):
I can't just take I appreciate that I can't just be,
you know, a Crimson Tide fan, because then I'm a bandwagoner.
Speaker 5 (01:38:38):
They've had so much success.
Speaker 2 (01:38:39):
Also, it seems like the bad time to jump on that.
Speaker 5 (01:38:41):
But what'd you get what I'm saying? You only picked
them because you know they've had success.
Speaker 3 (01:38:45):
So I'm gonna see if maybe by the end of.
Speaker 5 (01:38:48):
This football season college football.
Speaker 3 (01:38:50):
Maybe I'll have a team that I actually want to
be a fan of. So there's a couple of players
that have stood out in this week for me, And
why don't we start with your ens.
Speaker 10 (01:39:01):
Underwood pass Underwood gets away, He's.
Speaker 2 (01:39:04):
Got a lot of green Underwood.
Speaker 9 (01:39:08):
She touchdown.
Speaker 3 (01:39:12):
Westwood one on the call, Brice Underwood, how excited are
you about his performance? Three hundred and forty nine total yards,
one hundred and fourteen rushing.
Speaker 5 (01:39:23):
When there was a moment.
Speaker 3 (01:39:24):
Where I feel like you maybe thought the Wolverrings didn't
have a quarterback.
Speaker 5 (01:39:27):
How are you feeling out about your Michigan Oh.
Speaker 4 (01:39:29):
That moment was last year.
Speaker 2 (01:39:30):
I had no time, But I think we had a
quarterback this year, and I wish some of that had
come against Oklahoma, But they said he couldn't run nine
carries one hundred fourteen.
Speaker 5 (01:39:40):
Yards, get up, get out of here. No, absolutely handled.
Why don't we go to the Hoosiers next?
Speaker 8 (01:39:46):
Here's the stab back to Mendoza looks through the end zone,
rolls to his right, runs it up field five.
Speaker 2 (01:39:50):
Yard god touched down to the.
Speaker 9 (01:39:54):
Right, right out of the Mendoza shows you why he
has multiple capabilities out there an offense of Stanton White.
Speaker 2 (01:40:01):
Let the saidie a football team.
Speaker 3 (01:40:03):
Now, this game was on Friday, but in case you
missed it on, the final score against Indiana State was
seventy three to a big fat zero.
Speaker 5 (01:40:11):
Marn and Fernando Mendoza, thanks.
Speaker 4 (01:40:13):
For coming out, Sycamore nice feed up.
Speaker 3 (01:40:15):
Twenty for two hundred and seventy yards and six touchdowns,
all in the first half. He did so well that
he let his brother come in and play in the
second half.
Speaker 5 (01:40:24):
Yes, his brother, isn't that lovely? Brother? Come on, tell me,
tell me football is not romantic. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:40:30):
I love that they're brothers. Hoosiers are winning me over.
Last one to hear that, I'm let's go to the Ducks.
Speaker 8 (01:40:36):
Starve Whill's it down at Here's go down and that's
your mandel.
Speaker 3 (01:40:44):
Mateo younger ley lay you just heard again on Westwood One.
The number four Oregon Ducks opened the Big Ten Conference
play with a win in the win in the column
thirty four to fourteen over Northwestern and Mateo ujung Laala.
That took me for to at it. There you go,
three tackles, one sack, by the way, his third sack
of the season so far, one pass deflection. I feel
(01:41:06):
like defensive players sometimes don't get the credit. You look
at the box score, you kind of overlook at that.
He was a big part of the Oregon Ducks win.
Speaker 2 (01:41:13):
I saw Mateo play in high Did you let me
tell you something? He was an issue then as well?
There is a big time issue better than his brother DJ.
Speaker 5 (01:41:26):
You kind of forgot for a second. We forgot for
a second of who his brother is because we.
Speaker 2 (01:41:33):
Got to see a little bit of Dju and preseason charged.
Sure coming up next we'll have j De Pakel from
all three in the hard count, but with the iHeart
Radio ab because dream must I already did that one.
Let's kicking to Steve.
Speaker 11 (01:41:47):
Seger currently on the Chargers practice squad.
Speaker 4 (01:41:52):
There go, he didn't practice squad reps unle like you
just end.
Speaker 11 (01:41:56):
By the way, as you mentioned cal State Fullerton football, yes,
and their neighbors Long Beach State also used to have
football till the early nineties. I don't remember which, but
I went to a game of each and it was
so bad in the later years, I'm not kidding. Some
student behind me at one point, after yet another bad
drive turned to his buddy and said, dude, do they
(01:42:16):
even practice? That was the most serious question I had heard,
And indeed, it look like they did that. Number three
LSU was leading twenty to ten over Florida, thanks in
part to a pick six. Game is early in the
fourth quarter. Notre Dame at home is in the lead
against Texas A and M. Late in the third thirty
one twenty eight against the Aggies. End of three. Twenty

South Carolina twenty one to seven with ten minutes left
in the game. South Carolina quarterback Leonora Sellers left after
a hit to the head, and it's been a high
scoring night. At seventeen th ranked Old Miss Rebels forty
one to thirty five in the lead against our so

with under three minutes to go. Not a great football
season for Virginia Tech. They were trailing at home to
Old Dominion thirty eight seven to start the fourth quarter.
It's now ODU forty five twenty six with about two
minutes left. USC at Purdue was well a lightning to
lay of over three hours at the start. Eventually the
(01:43:21):
Trojans won on the road thirty three seventeen lightning to
lay at number five Miami of about an hour forty
five in the first half. Eventually the Hurricanes, no, there's
just lightning, no hurricane, beat Number eighteen South Florida forty
nine to twelve, and we did have wins for Penn
State and Oregon easy ones. Number one Ohio State was
(01:43:43):
only ahead of Ohio u Tonite thirteen to nine. Early
third quarter. Buckeyes beat him thirty seven to nine. It
was Georgia Ranks six, coming back to win an overtime
at Tennessee forty four to forty one. Georgia trailed twenty
one to seven in the first quarter. Number seven Texas
twenty seven to ten winners against UTEP. Ninth ranked Illinois
was up ten to nothing against Western Michigan early third

Speaker 2 (01:44:06):
The final.
Speaker 11 (01:44:07):
Georgia Tech beat number twelve Clemson twenty four to twenty
one on a fifty five yard field goal on the
final play. The easy wins for Oklahoma and Alabama. Easy
wins for Michigan and Missouri as well. Number fourteen Iowa
State a winner at Arkansas State twenty four to sixteen.
That lead was seventeen sixteen with nine minutes to go.
Number twenty one Texas Tech had a lightning to lay
(01:44:28):
of over two hours early eventually beat up Oregon State
forty five fourteen Auburn thirty one to fifteen winners against
South Alabama. The Cleveland Browns activated rookie running back Quinn
Shawn Judkins. In Major League Baseball, the Dodgers Clayton Kershaw
lasted three innings at San Francisco to He gave up
four runs in the first he's dominated the Giants over

his career. This is the first time he's allowed four
runs in one inning against the San Francisco Giants. He
last three innings four walks Giants, holding on four to
three against La top of the fifth padreser up nine

these scores hold, the Dodger lead in the NL West

Angels bottom of the third Houston has won six to

head at Milwaukee six to two in the bottom of
the seventh inning. Already wins for the Yankees and Blue Jays.
Tampa Bay beat the Cubs five to four in Chicago.
Speaker 2 (01:45:24):
Today.
Speaker 11 (01:45:25):
Texas won at six straight, downing the slumping Mets three
to two, beating closer Edwin Diaz. Mets have lost eight straight.
Philadelphia won at six straight eight six over Kansas City.
Kyle Schwarber is fifty first homer. The Phillies' magic number
to clinch the division is one. We still have over
two weeks left in this season.
Speaker 2 (01:45:43):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin Weiss and Monte Bolanos.
Coming to Live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. He
signed out to welcome in our guest, one of the
best voices in college football. He works for on three.
You can see him on The Hard Count on YouTube.
I listen to the podcast, but I'm old. Go to
YouTube and get if numbers up. JD, Paquel, what's going on?
(01:46:04):
My friend?
Speaker 9 (01:46:05):
Brother?
Speaker 2 (01:46:06):
One?
Speaker 9 (01:46:06):
Great to hear your voice. Two you sound extremely married
over this call. So this is I mean, I'm fired
up for this year. Man, it's gonna be a good one.
Speaker 2 (01:46:13):
Listen, very married, thirty eight days, undefeated thus far in marriage.
So you know, say, we just looked to take it
one day at a time. We just get up and
do the work. You know how it is?
Speaker 9 (01:46:23):
Thirty eight no baby, not a bad record now.
Speaker 2 (01:46:26):
Also, you have to tune in the JD show on
YouTube to see this disastrous haircut that he got. JD
used to have like nice flowing locks, but I mean
the haircut a disaster?
Speaker 4 (01:46:37):
What JD?
Speaker 2 (01:46:38):
What's worse?
Speaker 4 (01:46:39):
Your haircut? Are the start to Clemson season?
Speaker 2 (01:46:43):
You know?
Speaker 9 (01:46:43):
So I'm gonna on my haircut. I think we've actually
been able to salvage it a little bit. You know,
it's been a locker room effort. It's it's been a
family affair over here. My wife's giving me some great
audible to work with for Clemson though, Dude, like I
don't I don't know what you do from here? I
mean you are you are in playoff mode as of
(01:47:05):
when clock hit triple zeros today against Georgia Tech. Man
like the not to go down a rabbit hole my hairdress,
I say, my hairdress with the wonderful lady who cut
my hair actually reached out on TikTok and I saw
my post and I was like, oh, no, how did you?
How did I didn't name drop? I didn't. I didn't
say where I got the cut from, Like how did
(01:47:26):
you find this? So I think like from there that
could be a conversation that tilts this back towards my haircut.
But Clemson man like, I don't. I don't see the
physicality like I was promised a bully preseason with Crimson,
I don't see. I saw Georgia Tech just do whatever
they wanted up front against them Clemson. But but buy
a hair pun intended.
Speaker 3 (01:47:47):
I like that.
Speaker 5 (01:47:48):
Jennie, Thanks for hanging out with us.
Speaker 3 (01:47:49):
Let's move on to another questionable performance despite the win,
arch Manning, are you.
Speaker 5 (01:47:57):
Or patience? Which approach? Are you taking?
Speaker 1 (01:48:00):
Mean?
Speaker 5 (01:48:01):
Because Martin and I seem to disagree here.
Speaker 9 (01:48:03):
You know, I have been the guy since we saw
the first even before the season. I was like, hey, listen,
he's a Manning it's also going to be his first
year being a starting quarterback in college football. Give him
a second, give him a second, give him a second.
But after today, I'm like, hey, Arch's still giving you
a second here, brother. But like if I'm defending Arch
Manning in any group chats right now, I'm starting to
(01:48:26):
slowly but surely like prepare myself for this to go
very very left, like almost building excuses for yourself. My
take has always been give him till October when they
go to Florida, Like he's gonna feast against Santose Stay,
he'll feast against UTEP, and like it hasn't hasn't really
been all that. And so my take here is, hey, Arch,
(01:48:47):
it's not gonna get easier when you go to the swamp.
If you don't look good against UTEP, what's it going
to look like when you see a Florida team in
desperation mode at their place. So, like, the thing that
concerns me is I don't think it's a physical It
looks like it's all upstairs for my guy. Like inst
Ohio State, he looks tight against San Jose Stay. He
starts out and looks a little bit tight and kind
of gets his mojo today, just look kind of out
(01:49:09):
of sorts like this, this repetitive not totally looking like
he's playing at the speed of the game and he's
been playing at is what has me nervous. And that's
something that if it's not it's not clocking. By late September,
we're going to have a lot of issues in Austin,
mostly on the message board saying what the heck is
going on with Art? What's going on with Sark?
Speaker 2 (01:49:28):
Yeah, well I think what's going on with Sark? Sark
lie to me?
Speaker 4 (01:49:32):
Now, all right, but here I get to the bottom
of this JD because I know you all in your
in your polls and you're voting.
Speaker 2 (01:49:39):
Apparently don't care that much based off what came out
over the weeks. No, but on a serious note, I've
watched pant State play literally nobody and b second in
the I guess Ohio State did play Texas, but we
talked about the quarterbacks as they've had LSU ten point game.
Here is Miami devass team in the country because to me,
(01:50:00):
it feels like Miami should be one or two and
or like Miami and Oregon to me are the best
two teams in the nation.
Speaker 9 (01:50:08):
I don't hate that take at all. I don't hate
to take it all. I think where we where we
run into differing opinions would be people looking at Ohio
States for Austin saying, well, they are super talented. Well,
the win over Texas was really great when they got it.
But like if you Martin, to your point, had Miami
at number two in the country, like you wouldn't get
(01:50:28):
a ton of pushback from me, especially with them beating
the USF team today that I mean be to other
ranked teams. So I I have I have more to
say about, like the way Penn States looked and the
way the Organs look like Penn State to me has
been extremely underwhelming. I think Oregon, even though they played
a couple of high school teams, have still been I mean,
like the way you would want a top team in
(01:50:49):
the country to look. So that's a lot of thoughts
there to kind of distill it down to. I think
nobody's looked like they've been the dominant team just yet
against a good competition. I have LSU two and they've
been the most impressive to me, And I think this
game against Florida is maybe a weird sample size because
it's Florida and they're in desperation mode and the game
is always weird when they play each other. Like a
(01:51:09):
guy throw a shoe a couple of years ago that
decided things.
Speaker 2 (01:51:12):
Who is a show?
Speaker 5 (01:51:15):
Sometimes?
Speaker 4 (01:51:15):
I just said, who throws a shoe?
Speaker 2 (01:51:17):
Like the guy I forget was awesomes whatever.
Speaker 9 (01:51:20):
You're very valid in that take, Mark very valid.
Speaker 3 (01:51:23):
I've actually thrown my shoe a couple of people. That's
besides the point. Okay, let's move on here. After Alabama's
first loss Week one, a lot of people thought Caitlin
de Boor's head, you know, out with his head.
Speaker 5 (01:51:34):
How are you feeling Alabama now that they're two and one?
Are they real contenders in the SEC?
Speaker 9 (01:51:40):
You know? I think they are. I think they're probably
in that tier two. For me right now, it's gonna
take a lot for me to unsee what happened against
Florida State. But I do think even what you saw
theday for them against Wisconsin, like the pieces are there,
you know, which is kind of a boring thing to
say and week through the college football season, but outside
of the pieces, like I saw a little bit more
energy from them today that I want wanted to see,
(01:52:00):
Like the first week of the season, it wasn't even
so much that like Florida State beat him. It was
just they went they went into a fight with their
hands down, and you're like, where is the where's the
bully on the block? Alabama? I was, where's the Nick
Saban Alabama team? That would have absolutely made that quarterback
that's talking to Smack all off season just eat his
word like that? That was nowhere to be found. But
today it was Wisconsin, and Wisconsin's got their own problems,
(01:52:23):
but sto more of an edge. I was impressed by
ty Simpson today. Thought he play with confidence. Thought he
played with poise. Thought he was kind of the u
the straw that stirred the drink. So I'm not out
on Bama, but it's going to take a little bit,
a little bit of something draftic for me to unsee
what was drafted in week one.
Speaker 4 (01:52:39):
JD. Do you have a Heisman vote?
Speaker 9 (01:52:41):
I don't have a Heisen vie. I don't have an
AP vote or Heism vote, which those two are aging
steadily better as the as the days progress.
Speaker 2 (01:52:48):
Yeah, that AP vote might be a bad sign, actually,
But apothetically speaking, I want to ask you this at
the end of every one of these times we have
you on. So I'm putting on the spot today you
had to rank your three three to one Heisman hopefuls
right now as of through three or through two games,
three games of college football? Who would it be?
Speaker 9 (01:53:08):
Number One? Tommy Castalana's what he did in week one
was sensational. He's putting up big numbers. No game today,
so the numbers won't look as good, uh. Number two.
Jahn McKeer. I think he had a bit of a
I'm here kind of moment against Michigan, but you know
there's there's some Michigan ties here on the show saw
tred Lightley the number three. You know, I'm gonna go
Dante Moore. I think Dante Moore has been phenomenal through
(01:53:30):
the games we've seen from him. He's been the definition
of efficient. And also, I mean, if we if we're
if we're trusting, uh trust in history, and history is
kind of like YELP reviews. You know you kind of
trust it, but don't take this actual. I mean an
Orgon quarterback to the last two years been a hids
and the finalists, So I think he'll be in New
York as well. So those are my my top three
as the stands right now.
Speaker 2 (01:53:49):
I love Castlanos. I think that kid is that kid anytime.
He's the amount of trash he talked going.
Speaker 4 (01:53:56):
Into week one and it was just like, yeah, I'll
just ball out, don't mind me, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:54:00):
Appreciate you coming on, bro, appreciate We have you on

Speaker 4 (01:54:44):
Guilty or non guilty.
Speaker 2 (01:54:46):
Moncy, guilty, all right, she said, guilty already, just guilty?
Who what where?
Speaker 5 (01:54:51):
That don't care? Guilty?
Speaker 2 (01:54:57):
One more segment left for the maiden voyage of Martin
Weiss and Montsy Bells. Yeah, the tag team partnership that
will be dominating. That's right, Saturday nights eight to eleven,
five to a Pacific.
Speaker 5 (01:55:10):
You know what, eminem show with peanuts.
Speaker 2 (01:55:13):
We're both guilty of domination. Let's play sports cord.
Speaker 7 (01:55:18):
All right, Sports Court.
Speaker 6 (01:55:20):
I have a list of people from the world of
sports here that I'm putting on trial, and I will
present their case and then it's up to you, guys,
the jury, to tell me whether they are guilty or
not guilty. You guys ready, that's right, all right? First up,
Jaden Daniels stands accused.
Speaker 4 (01:55:32):
Now.
Speaker 6 (01:55:33):
The Packers beat the Commanders on Thursday Night Football twenty
seven to eighteen, but second year quarterback Jade and Daniels struggled.
It wasn't awful, throwing two touchdowns, but he only completed
twenty four of forty two passes, only got to two
hundred passing yards on top of losing the game pretty handily.
So he was better and he was better in Week one,
but remember he was playing against the Giants. It's definitely
(01:55:53):
too early to start driving off the CJ. Stroud sophomore
slump comparisons. But if you guys want to jump on
it early, here's your chance. Jayden Daniels guilty or not guilty.
Speaker 5 (01:56:02):
I'm gonna say he is guilty.
Speaker 9 (01:56:06):
Book him.
Speaker 3 (01:56:08):
I know it's early on, but I think the expectation
that he will probably and the Commanders not just him,
take a step back is is logical. Now people know
how to scheme against you.
Speaker 5 (01:56:20):
There's tape on you. You had a much easier schedule last year.
You came out of nowhere.
Speaker 3 (01:56:25):
Now you have a tougher schedule, and people kind of
know what made me to expect from you. So I'm
gonna say guilty, even though it's an early guilty, but
that's what I'm going with.
Speaker 4 (01:56:35):
Really not guilty.
Speaker 5 (01:56:36):
I'm annocent and we helped me. Damn.
Speaker 2 (01:56:41):
I don't love what the Commanders did this offseason. It's
like they were like, wait a minute, I want everybody
I signed it for agency to be twenty six year older.
Like you don't say, He's like are you? Are you
almost done in your team?
Speaker 5 (01:56:54):
Come on?
Speaker 2 (01:56:54):
Down Deebo saying, well, come on down, I'll be waged
and we can do it again.
Speaker 4 (01:56:57):
Zach Ert, you want to practice.
Speaker 2 (01:56:59):
Squad, let's up another year. I just don't love the
Commander's kill players.
Speaker 7 (01:57:04):
All right, this one's interesting.
Speaker 6 (01:57:05):
Indiana Hoosiers point guard Lamar Wilkerson stands accused.
Speaker 7 (01:57:08):
Now let me explain this one to you guys.
Speaker 6 (01:57:10):
This guy, Lamar Wilkerson, He's played his last three seasons
of college basketball at sam Houston, and he averaged over
twenty points per game last season, so he hit the portal.
There was a little bit of an nil bidding war
for him between Kentucky and Indiana, but now he's officially
transferred to Indiana, He's gonna play for the Hoosiers. The
interesting part of the story, though, is that he actually
donated six figures worth of his nil to his former school,
(01:57:33):
Sam Houston. He was asked about it if by a reporter.
He said he did it out of love for the
program and his old head coach. So I'm curious what
you guys think of it. Lamar Wilkerson, guilty or not guilty?
Speaker 2 (01:57:42):
Not guilty?
Speaker 1 (01:57:43):
These allegations are false.
Speaker 2 (01:57:45):
And the more I'll say on this is he shouldn't
have to do that. But if you're a school like
Indiana or Kentucky and you're gonna pluck this kid, you
should have to match what you pay an nil to
the school you plucked him from. It's not fair for
Sam Houston State, it's not fair for the two Lens
of the world, the big guy.
Speaker 4 (01:58:01):
If you want him, you should pay restitution.
Speaker 5 (01:58:04):
Not guilty. I did not do it, Absolutely I can't.
That's that's such an honorable thing to do.
Speaker 3 (01:58:10):
But in today's world of college sports, it's not about loyalty.
Speaker 5 (01:58:14):
It's all about money. And he probably did not want
to do that. He probably did not want to leave
that school.
Speaker 3 (01:58:18):
But when you're presented with a bag of cash, how
I don't blame him.
Speaker 5 (01:58:23):
Not guilty. What a nice thing that he did.
Speaker 6 (01:58:26):
Next up, the NFL schedule makers stand the cues. Now,
you guys might know where I'm going with this, but
this week's Monday night football matchup will actually feature a
double header, as we alluded to earlier, as it has
in certain weeks and years past. But it's worth noting
that the two games should not overlap. They start three
hours apart, so that won't be an issue, but there
are still some mixed feelings from fans on the concept
of a Monday night doubleheader and committing to six hours
(01:58:49):
straight of watching football. So what do you guys think
NFL schedule makers guilty or not guilty.
Speaker 5 (01:58:54):
I'm gonna say not guilty, and I'll tell you what.
You're letting them go again because it's only week two now.
Speaker 3 (01:59:01):
If this was week fourteen and you have a double
header on a Monday.
Speaker 5 (01:59:05):
I'm gonna be more annoyed. But it's early on. It's
early on, so I'm not upset about it. I get it.
Speaker 3 (01:59:11):
Uh, don't do it later on when you kind of
want to pay more attention to the individual games. Right now,
it's week two, I'm okay with the Monday night double hunter.
Speaker 2 (01:59:20):
Guilt guilty.
Speaker 4 (01:59:23):
Rome under the jail. These things used to mean something.
Speaker 2 (01:59:27):
It's Monday night football, not Monday night Football's Monday night football,
thurday night football, all right, because it's one game, prime
time standalone.
Speaker 4 (01:59:37):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:59:37):
The best day in sports, well, one of the best
of the sports is the one o'clock window of the
NFL when you can watch seven hours of what used
to be commercial free football, and they're taking that away
from you so I can.
Speaker 5 (01:59:47):
Watch so guilty harmartin because it's only gonna get worse.
Speaker 11 (01:59:51):
It's gonna.
Speaker 6 (01:59:53):
One more quick one. Bill Belichick stands accused. He told
the media last week the reason he banned Patriots scouts
from the UNC facility because the Patriots have made it
clear that he's not welcome at THEIRS. Mike Rabel said
on a recent radio interview that Belichick is welcome there.
So what do you guys think? Is Belichick a liar?
Guilty or not guilty?
Speaker 5 (02:00:09):
Not guilty? Jordan Hudson is guilty? Where you go?
Speaker 2 (02:00:12):
I ab jected because it's Belichick case. They're both guilty guilty.
Speaker 4 (02:00:17):
All of them is guilty.
Speaker 2 (02:00:19):
Bill Belichick guilty?
Speaker 4 (02:00:21):
Is Kim be territory thinks of Barton up next?
Speaker 1 (02:00:24):
Guilty? Guilty
