Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Fernando Mania once again. Then Part two.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Lots of tears already, lots of tears already.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Martin Wise. Manzi is coming to you live from the
Fox Sports Radio studios as Fernando Mendoza is your Heisman
Trophy winner, tears streaming down his face, pure joy as
he hugs his mother, walks over to Kurt Signetti says, coach,
I love you man, or.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
Something along those lines.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
He probably lifts the trophy up. And now he's saying
something that we can't tell. We know obviously we're on
the radio. We've got to sound down with Manci. You'm
gonna imagine it sounds something like this is slip it awesome.
I'm so happy to be here. I can't believe why
the husman this is the best thing ever.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Go wait, who lost their voice? You were me? Because
I feel like I just had to speak and I
was gonna sound like that.
Speaker 5 (00:56):
Uh yeah, No.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
He must be so stoked. And I'm sure the first
thing he thought was do not sound like you did
in that video that went viral. That was like probably
the first thing he told himself. But for a second,
you could tell he lost it. I mean, how exciting.
Congratulations to Fernando Mendoza, the first Indiana player to win
the award.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Good for you, that's that's awesome. I think I saw
earlier today. I saw a clip that I don't know
when it was done, but sometime in the lead up
from the last game of the season to the Heisman
Trophy being handed to Mendoza, they were being asked where
they would all take their Heisman trophy afterwards. Yes, Mendoza
said he's going to take it back to Indiana because
(01:37):
he feels like everywhere the university is.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
That's the thing about this kid.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Gms are going to fall in love with him just.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
When he talks, like he seems so.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Earnest, earnest, a little goofy in a good way.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
Yeah, like yeah, like your buddy.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
Yeah, Like he's goofy.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
He's like the kid brother who is very like into
this thing, correct, right, And it's like, you don't want
to you know, I'm not trying to belittle him or anything.
Speaker 5 (02:07):
No, no, no, that's not it.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
But you take it from that, and he said, like,
I just want to give it to my university and
make sure that Indiana's remember like we got the best
situation going.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
He was shouting out his brother.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
And probably crying, you know, mom can't handle it. And
you just juxtaposed that with Diego Pavia like, yeah, I
was gonna give it to Theo Vaughn and put in
his podcast suite. Yeah, I was like, you know what,
all right, I think we got the right just ended
the right way.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Well, yeah, you know, I also thought that maybe the
thirty year old doesn't win the Heisman. It's probably the
way it should be.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
You know, if you can run a car, you probably
if you can rent, if you just can rent a Nissan,
at the time of winning the trophy, you should not
be moving into the Nissan Heisman House.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah. I think that's fair. I think that's fair to say.
And we're actually like, I know, the numbers were not
jumping off of the page when you looked at Fernando
Mendoz's numbers, but let's be real. He had the moments
throughout the season, he had the record, and here's the
team there and you know, what else do you want?
Speaker 4 (03:04):
So answer your question, what else do I want? I
have a long list.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
But I'll start with this.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Give it to me.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
I want. I want us as as a as a
football viewing community to understand that there are more than
just quarterbacks in the world.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
There are more than just quarterbacks in the world.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
There are are you sure you like? Are you?
Speaker 2 (03:28):
I watched football every weekend, so Monday and Thursday, Friday
even we have some Fridays coming up, you know, at
a Friday last couple weeks ago. Every day I see
more than just a quarterback out there. But then when
it comes time to moments like this, yeah, all you
(03:48):
ever see is quarterbacks. There's more than there's more out there.
In my opinion, I'm just one man. Yeah, I personally
believe the Heisman Trophy should have gone to.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Jeremiah love Fair Fas I'm just one man, that's me.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
I get it. I hear you on Fernando Mendoza had
the moments however, and again I love this kid. Yeah,
Penn State was terrible. Penn State was all a boat.
This was already after they fired the coach, all right.
And it took a miraculous catch to.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Be paid one which you could give it more to
the catch than you give it to Fernando Mendoza. And
I'm with you on that one, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
And Gus Johnson goes, you know, right in that moment,
and I think as not saying as a result, but
like to the point it gets in there, he's had
the moments.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
I'm not taking anything.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Away, but like Jeremiah Love consistently, I get it that
Notre Dame Verse Syracuse wasn't, you know, top of mind
for many but you know he's run to find three
hundred yards of the first half, like and I and
the other thing that people would say it was, well,
you know, Martin, how could you give it to Jeremiah
Love this year if you didn't give it to ask
(05:07):
you Jana last year?
Speaker 4 (05:09):
Right, how are you going to do that? My answer
would be two wrongs, don't make.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
A rust exactly. That's such an annoying response to hear
because and that. But that's a problem. And I guess
that's why the entire time I was like, they're not
going to give it to Jeremiah Love. You know what
I'm saying. I was like, we know it's between these
two and because you just knew the way it was
being discussed and talked about. But I agree with you.
It's like maybe Jeremiah Love should have really wanted this
year just because it didn't happen the year before.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
It doesn't mean you got to keep doing this.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
And I said, look, I have thought what Notre Dame
has done over the last two weeks has been like
just reprehensible. Yeah, just just like no time for this,
right loser mentality and behavior in general. Right, And I
understand that you feel like he got shafted. However, the
(05:59):
time to deal with that is when we're all figuring
out what rules we're going to.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
Make up for next year.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
You know, it's true, not today, not right now, right like,
because you know what you wouldn't have been doing.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
You wouldn't have been championing the.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Little guy otherwise, right.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
You know what are you taking a phone call right now?
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Martin?
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Do you want what that actually is?
Speaker 2 (06:17):
It's a reminder to tell them to turn the cameras
on because they didn't have the cameras on last week
when the microphones broke, and so we missed.
Speaker 4 (06:23):
The video of what would have been Like.
Speaker 3 (06:25):
The video would have been awesome, it's so good.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
But the audio we would have hard to tell.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
You gotta tell with the audio because that's how good
we handled it. You needed to see it.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
So that's what that was it didn't.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
Ian Roddy, our producer, didn't you mention weeks ago that
every like this was the year that it should have
been a running back, remember, like he was like the Heisman.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (06:45):
They since the award has started, every year that ends
in a five has been won by a running back.
So it really just sucks, especially when there was a
guy who was worthy of the award at that position
this year. But not to take anything away from Endarza,
he had no incredible year.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
I mean, look and he I think he also knows
that that. It's like, I had an incredible year, but
it also came with the team, like the team's success,
while you look at Jeremiah Love and that was like
individual success.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
Right, So it's like, how do you.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
He did?
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Here? They are not you you know what I'm saying, Yes,
they had, but here they are Indiana had a perfect year.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Yeah, and that's honestly the message to another day. You
know who Indiana played straight the schedule all of that. Nobody,
nobody for real. But you know what they did? They
won the Big Ten. You know they won the Big
Ten because they had the playoff locked up before they
played Ohio State.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
You know what I'm saying like that they were.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
There, that was just for glory.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
That was just for who's going to be one, who's
going to be four or three or whatever?
Speaker 4 (07:45):
How is it all going to settle out?
Speaker 2 (07:47):
They were locked in, you know, Fernando and the boys
were going to the party. You know they were going
and so like that's to me, it's like you look
at these independents, it's Notre Dame in Yukon.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Like if you don't if you want to have the
benefits of being the independent, then you also have to
reap the reap the the if you you can't have
both cost to be the boss, Like you have to
understand that if you want to move like this, then
you don't get the backing of these other player because
like you're not look Indiana's schedule objectively when you look
(08:27):
at it. I remember at the start of the year,
they're like, yo, who are.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
They playing dominion?
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Exactly old dominion. You know who's scared the old dominion?
New dominion? You know what, it doesn't matter which dominion
don't matter, right, But it's like that level, you know
what I'm saying, that's what they're They didn't have a
penn State was horrible this year and went to the wire,
and you know what they did didn't matter because they
won the Big Ten. That's the thing that especially too,
(08:54):
as college football progresses into this world where we're really
gonna have the SEC and the Big Ten and they're
gonna that's consentially gonna maneuver and be like the AFC
in the NFC, right, you know what I mean, as
we moved like, it means something to win your division
in the NFL, right, just like it means something to
(09:16):
win your conference.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
And I think, like, and again, it.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Shouldn't necessarily matter for this moment, but I think it
is something that Jeremiah Love was, you know, the games
that he was playing down the stretch. They're playing pitt
they're playing Syracuse. They're not playing these higher profile games.
And it's like the last time everybody watched Diego, the
last time everybody watched Fernando Mendoza play. He was playing
(09:44):
Ohio State and they won, and they won, and they
were you know what I'm saying, it's like, you know.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
What can you do?
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Yeah, it's unfortunate that, like you said it, like it's
kind of you just remember what have you done for me? Lately. Oh,
you just beat Ohio State. Like, that's what I'm gonna remember.
If I and I know, the wouldn't happened. I think
before that didn't it? Actually, I don't know. We should
ask you know, you know who has a Heisman vote here?
In case you guys listeners don't know Steve Hartman here,
Steve har I wonder.
Speaker 4 (10:10):
Who did Do you know who Steve Hartman voters?
Speaker 3 (10:11):
I actually do not know. I'm sure he'll reveal it tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yeah, I'm all right, I'm sure I'm positive he will.
But again, this is why I tell him all the time.
With great power comes great responsibility. He's one of the
people I'm talking to. You could have you could have
done the right thing.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
Maybe he did vote for Jeremiah Love.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
We'll see, you don't think so.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
We'll see.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
I'm talking about one old man to another.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
I'm just talking nothing. I love for Steve.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
But uh, when I this is one of those this
is AI, isn't it? And then you start seeing the
reports coming Now it's not AI. It's gotta be a
io No, but it's not a Yo chat.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Ebt really has gotten.
Speaker 2 (10:49):

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Monday through Friday, and we are generally like breaking news
will happen, and then you want to make sure you
have it, especially in today's social media era, where you know,
I don't want to make sure I'm following Ian Rapaport
with a one instead of an eye correct or Adam
Schefter with an L instead of a TV you know
what saying or something like that, right exactly. So I
(12:55):
saw Philip Rivers was like rumored to the colts. I
was like I just blew past it, like, oh, this
is Elon's Twitter at it again?
Speaker 4 (13:04):
You know, this is the new X right.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
By the way you follow us, I'm at Martin wis
Moncil's true.
Speaker 4 (13:10):
But then I saw Philip. I couldn't believe mine.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
I said, this must be a I It went from
X the new Twitter to to some one of those
chat GPT pictures because I saw Philip Rivers on the
practice field, and then they went to that to the
Sora video because I saw I could have sworn I
saw Philip Rivers do a press conference. I could have
already I saw Philip Rivers doing a press conference, and
(13:38):
so it all happened.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
It all happened.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
Philip Rivers is going to start on Sunday, which is insanity.
My first thought, though, honestly, was how do you think
it feels to be Riley Leonard today? Goodness crazy?
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Not just Riley Leonard. I feel like every other right
now quarterback that's in the league or in a practic,
this squad that has played a snap in the last
five years, any one of them. It just goes to
show what has been loosely talked about the last couple
of years, that quarterback development is at an all time low,
(14:16):
and you rather have a guy that was sitting on
the counch for five years than a guy that's trying
to figure it out. The reading the defenses, that's that's
the problem.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Like, I hear what you're saying and genuinely agree. However, this,
to me, it's just you are right. Quarterback development is
at an all time low. However, this to me is
not even about There's no football justification that can be.
(14:49):
This is insanity, Like there's do you know what I'm saying? Like, yes,
your statement is true, right, I agree with you. However,
common period, stop, next sentence, enter, entertain This is crazy.
You cannot convince me that there is this is the
best option.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
Like how many options hit the cutting room floor?
Speaker 2 (15:11):
And we know Sam Ellinger was one of them because
they called Sam Ellinger and they tried to Sam. He's
on the Broncos practice squad. He has started for Indianapolis
in the past. And I guess that was the prerequisite.
Have you played football for us at some point in time? Right,
I don't know. Maybe they should have called Peyton was he?
I guess the Manning cast has him too busy.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
But like.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
The Colts, to me, they I wonder how serious they
take this stuff because in the last eighteen in the
last Over the last forty football games in the NFL,
the Colts have been coached by a guy who was
on ESPN week seven and on their sideline coaching the
(15:55):
team week eight, and now will be quarterbacked by a
guy who just coach a high school championship. But also too, Like,
I remember Philip rivers last game. You know what, you
know what has been different in my life?
Speaker 4 (16:11):
Just Philip.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
I didn't even know my wife. I'm now married. I've
moved three times since Philip rivers last game. I've been
on the move. I have worked on three different shows
since Philip rivers last start.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
You know what I'm saying?
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Like, yeah, like his last started, Donald Trump was barely
even the president. He's on his second term.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Like, this is ridiculous, just like you said, like I
was right, You're right.
Speaker 5 (16:41):
You are also right.
Speaker 3 (16:42):
This is ridiculous. But it's so bad that the cults
are here saying, what can save our season? We have
a good O line that can possibly protect an old
man possibly. You know, I'm just trying. I'm trying to
tell you what the Colts are probably thinking right now.
We don't have any moves. We don't have moves.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
They need to stop thinking. If that's what they thinking,
they need to stop because this is like I hear,
sure the Colts have an above average offensive line.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
Absolutely, you know what happened to the last quarterback? He
broke his lag? He broke his lag.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
But we don't even know how playing football, I understand it.
Speaker 5 (17:23):
It wasn't like in a play that we could go
back there. It was like, oh the oll I let
him down And then no we didn't. We didn't see it.
We heard about it after. He is a fracture?
Speaker 2 (17:29):
What when you know what I ultimately think too, I
think that Philip Rivers with no knowledge of I don't
know Philip Rivers from a hole in the wall.
Speaker 4 (17:38):
I don't know him at all.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
I think he's grossly and vastly miss underestimating his own
physical ability.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
Now that's a separate conversation, right.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
Like I understand that. It's you know, we're all laughing.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
They're all laughing in the press conference with Philip Rivers says, yeah,
I didn't run the word for sixteen seventeen years.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
I get that.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
However, you were you, while you were never a great anthlete,
you were the most athletic you will ever be.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
And at that point in time. You said, I'm done.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
I want to hang him out.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
It's crazy. He has to think he can hang But
it's like you're about to go play in Seattle against
a good defense that knows you haven't played a snap
in five years. Yes, you've been coaching and you've been
having kids. I know, I know all that. But he
has to think he can do it. Why would you
put yourself out there? He has to think he can
do it. I know that sounds crazy. No, the whole
(18:36):
thing is crazy.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
So here's my thought. Here's my thought.
Speaker 5 (18:41):
He's pushing back his Hall of Fame for this. He
has to think he.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
Can do this.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Ding ding ding my conspiracy theory. Oh all right, everybody,
Philip Rivers currently.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
Constructed, thank you, good job.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
When he this era of the Hall of Fame, think
about the guys that he's going to be up against,
right right, just think about that stretch of guys like
led by Brady, but Roethlisberger, you know, Breeze and Manning
all I mean some of the mouth to rushmore of quarter.
What I'm saying that we know like like and Thomas
(19:23):
first ballot, right, there was no question about that, right,
Like even just in his class. ELI is the debate, right,
but Eli's got the two Super Bowls. You know, Philip
Rivers has not that you know what I'm saying, I
because again I'm operating from the sense that there's no
football reason why this makes any sense for like you,
(19:46):
if the culture telling me this is what they think
they're doing to win, I don't want to hear it.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
This isn't intentional.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
My theory is that this is an intentional moment to
push back the clock because five years from now he
will be in competition with Matthew Stafford and Aaron Rodgers
and and.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
Whom and whom.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
It was the question like there's like you know what
I'm saying, Like sure, like Cam New, like you know
what I'm saying, Like some of these arguments are gonna
be well, Philip Rivers definitely did all that. That's why,
and it can only help his case.
Speaker 5 (20:21):
Are you sure it can help his case? What if
it's so.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Bad that that's what you remember of Philip Rivers, Like
let's say he goes out there and makes a fool
out of himself, absolute ful, maybe you know, take the
heart hit, doesn't even survive the game, and then in
five years you're gonna be like, oh, remember the last
time he saw instead of remembering what it was, You're
gonna you're gonna remember that.
Speaker 2 (20:44):
I will say that has disaster written all over it.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
I'm not saying I'm not fully with you on this
conspiracy theory. That just seems like a risk, a stupid risk.
Speaker 4 (20:58):
The whole thing is still.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to misrepresent any
of it. The entire thing is flawed and foolish, okay,
And honestly, to me, just a sense of like how
serious are you about this?
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Like how serious are you?
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Like serious? Sincerely?
Speaker 4 (21:17):
How serious?
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Like you had Jeff Saturday come and coach the team,
You having Philip Rivers coming coach, like, like what are
we doing? Like what do we do? What?
Speaker 3 (21:26):
They're trying to hold on to the season that is
in front of them right now.
Speaker 5 (21:30):
They're trying to They're trying to win right now.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
They're not trying to win next year. They're trying to
win right now.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
You know what the Cincinnati Bengals was trying to win
right now, you know, trading.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
For Joe Flacco, Well, yes, you know why because he was.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
Playing footballs.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Like Phil, like that's The thing that's crazy to me
is mind boggling to me that not only like not
only did to your cause I agree with you, Like,
if I'm phil I'm probably not even taking this call
in the same way, right, because it's like, why would
I go out there and make an ass out of myself? Right,
I've been sitting here minding my own business this whole time.
(22:04):
I will say this, I am locked in. I cannot
wait to see him get hit.
Speaker 5 (22:09):
I just can't wait to see what happens.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
I want to see him get hit.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
Yeah, because you.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
Know, another person I think we can blame for all
of this really is Tom Brady for like doing what
he did at forty sure, you know, like so it
gives everyone this idea that like, oh, well, maybe I
can do it, if he could do it, if he
could just stand in the pocket and throw and you know,
protect his pretty face, maybe I can do it.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
No, you can't.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
You can't.
Speaker 4 (22:31):
Tom Brady's like the Beyonce. It is, okay, you ain't Beyonce.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
You ain't.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
You ain't you not Beyonce. It's frustrating, but it's really
the last thing I said. It reminds me of Alex
Smith when he came back from compound fracturing, its lagging
a million places where.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
You were like, oh, I get what you're saying, why would.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
You come back?
Speaker 4 (22:50):
Why would you come back after that?
Speaker 5 (22:51):
But I see.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
I think they're different though, because I understand as as
scary as it was, even for Alex Smith's wife and
the kids he had, he had to he had to
for for himself.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
So remember that first play, everybody came out, it was yes,
I'll expect.
Speaker 4 (23:06):
You know what happened on the second one because.
Speaker 3 (23:07):
I remember everyone wasn't good.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Aaron Donald jumped on his back. Yeah, because you know why,
because he had to. Aaron Donald had to do his job.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
Nick.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
You know, I'm gonna call it now. I think Nick
the Seattle IMMORI. This is the safety from the second
round that they drafted, the guy who held up all
the guaranteed contracts. He's gonna be the one that takes him,
that takes Paul Philly out the game.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
So we'll see Riley Leonard, right, that's the name, Riley Leonard.
Speaker 5 (23:34):
Yeah, yeah, you think we'll see him.
Speaker 4 (23:36):
I mean we have to, we have to.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
And also if the Colts, I'll put it like this,
I also think the Colts score more than twelve points
tomorrow offensively right, right they can't?
Speaker 4 (23:51):
Right, Yeah, he's forty four.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
It's crazy the idea, But it's like, what is it?
What is it that they obviously see something or know
something that we don't. No, like it all Like you said,
it all happened so fast and you thought it was
chat CHPT and AI because it literally went from they're
talking to Philip Rivers, Oh, Philip Rivers is coming in. Oh,
Phillip Rivers has been signed. Oh he's starting. It's it
happened so fast, like when when it.
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Was just practice squad. I was like, oh, this is interesting.
You have my attention. You got that check because that
kind of makes sense, you know, the practice war quarterback.
He's not going to get hit. You want to go
and you could.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
Run the right.
Speaker 5 (24:26):
He could help that help out. Yes, I get it.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Starter for the best pregame show every weekend, be sure
to tune in the Foxforts radios countdown to kickoffs. My
bet MGM, I bet they'll be taking Philip Rivers unders
every Saturday and Sunday morning.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
What counts you down too?
Speaker 2 (24:42):
The biggest games from three hours right up until kickoff.
All the best plays up to the second injury news.
Tune in the countdown to kickoffs my bet MGM every
Saturday and Sunday morning right here on Fox Sports Radio
and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
Before we take.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
A trip down to Cincinnati for some sad, not sad,
not fun comments, kick over for TV's Sacred He's Always Fun.
Speaker 9 (25:04):
Hello, good to hear the show. And as this has
been discussed this topic throughout the week and now he's
officially in case you didn't hear the Cold State officially
activate quarterback Philip Rivers for tomorrow's game. Couple of things
that I think we can make conclusions about management in
any industry is not always necessarily smarter than you. Yes,
(25:26):
we go in to most of these things, and I
mean not just in football, in any industry we go
in assuming they are smarter than we are. That has
proven not to be the case in the past. I'm
saying nothing about how he'll play tomorrow. I'm just saying
in general, people need to not assume that going in.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
Oh no, Steve, don't worry. She wears a headset and
stands on the sideline.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
She does everything.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
She's got a great handle on everything.
Speaker 9 (25:50):
Well, I will say she's got a better handle on
her team than half the owners probably in the league.
I'm not that they're not forced to make this decision
in December though true. The other thing is never underestimate
how much who you know means, again in any job,
not talking just about.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
This, especially because the conversation apparently Shane's tyking I Philip
Rivers are on the phone every week.
Speaker 9 (26:14):
Yeah, which that's his quarterbacks coach with the Chargers.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
I just who do you talk to every week that
you're not related to? Like you know what I'm saying
that you don't live with? Like, come on, what are
we doing? I'm sorry, let me, I'm sorry, Steve.
Speaker 9 (26:28):
So you're you're expecting like before first down, he's gonna
be sacked tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
I think he You know how Drake Greenlaws snapped his
achilles running out in the Super Bowl, Like if Philip
Rivers got hurting warm ups, I would not be surprised.
Speaker 9 (26:41):
I thought that was you running to the TV for tomorrow.
I am something definite. So Rivers activated just signed this week.
Colts have lost four or five. Indie quarterback Daniel Jones
is expected to miss six to eight months after this
week's achilles surgery, so he could be back for training
camp whatever team is. The Bears are reportedly optimistic that
(27:02):
wide receiver Roma Doonsay will return to place Sunday. The
forty nine ers place wide receiver Brandon I you kind
of reserve list. He's out for the year. And the
Heisman Trophy winner for twenty twenty five is Indiana quarterback
Fernando Mendoza, who, in a game against Illinois in September,
for example, an Illinois team that was ranked top ten
at the time, got the Hoosiers a sixty three to
(27:24):
ten victory, had five touchdown passes, was twenty one of
twenty three for two hundred and sixty seven yards. Mid October,
in a win against Michigan State four touchdown passes twenty
four of twenty eight for three point thirty two, and
in a game against Wisconsin mid November, despite being sacked
five times, Mendoza had four touchdown passes nearly three hundred
(27:45):
yards and was twenty two of twenty four. So, ladies
and gentlemen, a guy who just transferred to that school
from cal wins the Heisman Trophy. That means four straight
years we've had a person who just transferred into the
school at some point recently winning the Heisman Trophy. That's
not the indicator of what college football is these days.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
I don't know what is.
Speaker 9 (28:07):
Number two, Diego Pavia, who may have been a transfer,
the Vanderbilt quarterback finishing second, and Notre Dame running back
Jeremiah Love finished third. The LA Bowl is underway and
mid first quarter. It's for the moment Boise State three
nothing over Washington Huskies do have a first and goal
coming up. Navy defeated Army seventeen sixteen on a touchdown
(28:29):
pass with about six and a half minutes left in Baltimore.
There are two NBA games tonight, the two NBA Cup
semifinals in Las Vegas. New York has beaten Orlando won
thirty two to one, twenty forty points for Jalen Brown
in a half an hour San Antonio against one seed
Oklahoma City, which has won sixteen games in a row.
Spur Center Victor wimben Yama is returning after missing a
(28:52):
month with a straying calf. The tournament final is Tuesday,
also in Vegas. The Cavaliers Evan Mobley is due to
miss two to four weeks with a strained calf. In
college basketball, Kansas beat NC State in overtime. Women soups
number one, Connecticut crushed USC NHL New Jersey over Anaheim
four to one, and two notes from Major League Baseball.
(29:12):
Former Dodger pitcher Dustin May, who had been with Boston
part of last year as signing with the Saint Louis Cardinals,
and veteran closer Kenley Jansen has reportedly agreed to a
deal with the Detroit Tigers.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
Back to you, thanks, Steve.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
You know, if if Philip Rivers wins tomorrow, he will
join two other men as quarterbacks over the age are
forty four or older to win NFL games.
Speaker 9 (29:36):
Ever, ever, I believe twenty four. Wow, so like Aaron
Rodgers not yet forty four? Yep, yeah, that's what's Did
Tom Brady make it to forty four?
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Tom Brady did make it to forty four? Do you
remember the other one, Steve.
Speaker 9 (29:51):
Well, George Blanda didn't do a lot of quarterbacking in
his later years, but he did play till forty four.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
George Blended did not quarterback at that time. However, I
think they know about it. I think they played for
the same team. Vinny Testaverdi the others.
Speaker 9 (30:04):
Oh wow, that's quite a long career.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
Vinny test Right, speaking of Heisman, Uh oh.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
So.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
Monci.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
There are troubling reports out of Cincinnati. The Trust's troubling
of them. Actually, how do you? Uh?
Speaker 4 (30:26):
I think there's a little bit underreported about Joe.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
Burrow and is his his comments that are the famous
cryptic comments. Let's hear them first and I'll talk to
you about him in just a moment.
Speaker 10 (30:38):
Do you want to keep doing this? I have to
have fun doing it, you know, I've been through a lot,
and if it's not fun, then what am I doing
it for?
Speaker 6 (30:46):
You?
Speaker 4 (30:46):
See, like through something on your mind.
Speaker 10 (30:50):
There's a lot of things going on right now, A
lot of things going on right now, all related personally,
all the above.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
So all of the above I think is legit.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
He did remember the like he's been robbed recently, Like
his house has been vandalid, like and recently was kind
of exposed in a kind of high profile relationship as
a result of that robbery, and like he's been kind
of private in that nature. So I think there's something
to that as well. But I think this is the
other thing that people miss about this Borough thing. He's
(31:20):
been really hurt the last few years. But if you
go back to year one, Okay starts gets hurt, rehabs
comes back.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
Year two, he is.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
A Hall of Fame playaway by Aaron Donald away from
winning the Super Bowl. Right, then they're right there AFC
Championship game, toe to toe with Mahomes. Right. Remember the
mayor of Cincinnati called Cleveland called the Kansas City Stadium
Burrow head right, Like, you know what I'm saying. It
was a real thing that was happening in terms of Burrow,
(31:55):
where he was at and where his team was at.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
As a competitor.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Now think about this, LeVar Aaron to say this about Joe,
and I think it's something was worth that bears repeating.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
Joe Burrow from his all of his time, Like.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
He went to Ohio State obviously at the work his way,
didn't last their transferred to LSU, but has lost games, right,
but has never lost like as a as a principal,
you know what.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
I'm saying, like been in a losing situation.
Speaker 2 (32:26):
This is just really his first or second year or
the first or second time being in.
Speaker 4 (32:31):
This big losing situations.
Speaker 2 (32:33):
Even though he saw the success that they had earlier
in his career, so I think that that is kind
of overblown in that he's eight and one in his.
Speaker 4 (32:43):
Last nine starts.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
The Bengals in the last two seasons have not, i mean,
close to the end of last year sniffed the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
But realistically it's like.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
You know, it's like, oh, if the Bengals make the playoffs,
is Joe Burrow the MVP. He is the level of conversation,
not anybody really giving them an actual chance.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
I think that this is just a guy who knows if.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
I am not playing as perfect as possible, we are
going to lose. If I am not healthy, we are
going to lose. And it's hard to prove him wrong.
And I think that when he saw those two interceptions
that he threw as he's preparing to get ready for
the next game that they play, he's like, we're not
going to be in the playoffs this year. I busted
my ass to get back here to rehab, and we're
(33:32):
not going to be in the playoffs. And I think
he feels it as it's my fault because I had
these two brain dead plays, because he takes the responsibility
for the team.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
Do you see what I'm saying, oh yeah, First of all,
thank you for all of that. I just died off
the air, so it's right. I'm good. Tears came down
my face from coffee so much. I'm good. I agree
with everything you said. What has been fun? Like you
keep hearing how great you are, but yet it's been
a bunch of injuries. It's been an underwhelming season back
(34:02):
to back, and you were so close to winning and
you haven't gotten back there. But everyone says how good
you are and how it all relies on you. Your buddies
get paid, but your defense doesn't do anything like what
is fun?
Speaker 4 (34:14):
Well, it's also too like he got the wide receivers, got.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
Paid his buddies right, but it's also too like they lost.
I mean, these pro tracted contract negotiations have to protract
the contract negotiations. He has had to go and negotiate
publicly in the media for his guys.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
I want my guys to be here, so on and
so forth.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
I don't think that we're looking at a Carson Palmer
level situation where he's like, I would rather I would
rather not work than work for you. I was like,
I don't think we're looking at an Andrew Luck situation
where he's like, I'd rather retire. Then, you know, Carson
Palmer went and played. Hell, he went the NFC Championship
game after that, he had a hell of a career.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Are we that sure the Bengals history is not a
good one? Like, are we that sure that he is
not kind of like entertaining the idea of walking away early?
I don't think that he is because the history of
the Bengals is not great and how they have handled
their quarterbacks, their their contracts with players, like, it's just
not it's not great. And then if I'm Cincinnati, I
also wouldn't want to trade him, right, So it's like.
Speaker 5 (35:17):
He's kind of stuck.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
He's absolutely he's got you.
Speaker 3 (35:20):
Know what I'm It's like, I I everything he said.
It was like, yeah, I can see why you're not
having a good time.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
That is, if he doesn't play perfect, they're going to lose.
And he was in the midst of well, he was
in the midst of it just about a perfect game
until two of the more brain dead interceptions you'll ever see,
and as a result, the Bills still live. Joe Burrow,
you know what, I'm exonerating you, bro, I get it.
(35:47):
You're not guilty, though the ownership GM they're more guilty
than you are. Will have more of that coming up
in sports Court.
Speaker 4 (35:54):
If Montic can make it.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
Barko manzs Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
Coming to you live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Martin White's MASSI belos NBA Cup being played in an
empty arena in Las Vegas, in front of no one.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
I read that there were like filler seats, like you know,
like got edit award show like that, there are filler
seats because no one wanted to know.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
I know you've been to Vegas a million times. The
people who are when you're walking down the strip to
people who are like tickets for so Girls, tickets for whatever,
they're like tickets for Wemby, tickets for Wemby, tickets for Wemby.
Speaker 4 (36:39):
Alright, let's play sports court.
Speaker 6 (36:40):
All right, that's right, it is the sports Court. Sorry,
I'm simultaneously trying to juggle text with Arnie Spaniard right now,
which can yeah, man, a headache, as you guys know.
Speaker 11 (36:51):
But that's all right. We love Arnie. They do the
sports court.
Speaker 6 (36:54):
I have a list of people from the world of
sports that I'm putting on trial here in the court.
I'm gonna present their case to you guys, and then
it's up to you the jury tell me whether they
are guilty or not.
Speaker 4 (37:02):
Ready, let's do it.
Speaker 6 (37:04):
Okay, first guy here, we got Todd Bowles stands accused.
So the Buccaneers lost to the Falcons a few days
ago on Thursday Night Football after having led by two
touchdowns in the fourth quarter. When head coach Todd Bowles
was asked in the postgame press or what his message
is to the locker room after a game like that,
he had this to.
Speaker 12 (37:22):
Say, it's inexcusable. You don't make excuses. You got enough,
you got care enough for it, got something to you.
It's more than a job good. How well do you
know your job? How well can you do your job?
Speaker 2 (37:39):
Well?
Speaker 12 (37:39):
You can't sugarcoat it was incusable and it's a ford.
It's for no excuse for it. That's what you're telling them.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
In a lot I'm looking.
Speaker 6 (37:49):
Yeah, so there's certainly going to be a historic fine
coming Todd Bowles his way. But yeah, what do you
guys think that expletive ridden rant? Is Todd Bowles guilty
or not? Guilty after that. Manti First, Uh so.
Speaker 3 (38:04):
I did not watch this game live, but I was
keeping track of it and I could not believe as
I was like seeing updates on the score and like.
Speaker 5 (38:11):
I was like, I cannot believe this is.
Speaker 3 (38:13):
Happening right now? What is going on? Todd is not
guilty for the profanity. He is guilty for that loss.
Like you're yeah, you know what I'm saying, Like there's
been fault some of the games where Tampa loses.
Speaker 5 (38:27):
You're like, who is.
Speaker 3 (38:29):
The person in charge here to keep to keep everyone focused.
It's like they lose focus when they're ahead. They think
it's over. It's no, the game's not over, and it's
on you, head coach Todd Bowles.
Speaker 2 (38:39):
Yeah, I'm saying he's guilty here, guilty because here's the thing. Yeah,
he's right in that on third and twenty eight, fourth
and fourteen. Be a player, Like if I call a
bad defense, be a player, like go play football, make
a tackle. But like throwing your players that far under
the bus. To me, it's like you saying you have
(38:59):
no nothing left to give. Well, why is the owner
paying you to coach? Right? What's the point? Yeah, if
you better figure out something to do you charge.
Speaker 5 (39:10):
Ten points with like three minute for a minute, it.
Speaker 3 (39:12):
Was yeah, I was like I couldn't believe what I
was seeing.
Speaker 6 (39:17):
Yeah, And then also put Todd Bowles is just not
known for this kind of thing, like he's actually known
for the complete opposite. He's known for being a boring
interview and just a guy who doesn't say anything interesting
like this.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
So it's probably the most least interesting way you can
say seven f bombs.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
Yeah, that's actually a very good point. But let's move
on here to the next defendant.
Speaker 11 (39:35):
TJ.
Speaker 6 (39:36):
Watt stands accused. So all Pro Steelers pass rusher TJ.
Watt set to miss time after having to undergo surgery
after suffering a collapsed lung during a dry needling treatment.
Speaker 11 (39:46):
At the team facility.
Speaker 6 (39:47):
It's worth noting this is different from the treatment Tyrod
Taylor was getting when that whole thing happened to him
a few years ago, but the consequences are pretty clearly
similar here. And the reason Watt himself is accused here
in the Sports quarter is because his teammate Patrick Qui
recently gave some insight on dry kneedling said it scares him,
so he actually prefers acupuncture, which requires more schooling.
Speaker 11 (40:07):
So for TJ. Watt, guilty or not guilty, I've.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
Never heard of dry needed. Neither have I guilty? I
guess put his ass in jail.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
Yeah, yeah, it seems guilty because it's like, why is
it nobody else doing this?
Speaker 5 (40:21):
Why an't you doing the safer procedure.
Speaker 3 (40:23):
We're in the middle of a fight right now to
get to the playoffs, like you're needed.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
Is there wet needling?
Speaker 3 (40:27):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (40:28):
Is it like botox?
Speaker 3 (40:30):
What's in the what it goes in? Does air come out?
Speaker 2 (40:34):
Don't Listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio, two teams in
the AFC on a collision course.
Speaker 4 (40:41):
They can't lose or will they?
Speaker 2 (40:45):
Broadcasting live from Fox Sports Radio, Martin Wise MONSI belaos
sitting here on a Heisman trophy Shaturday. That's right, Bernando
Mendoza Fernandomania back in play once again, the Indiana quarterback
taking home college football's most prized possession, a second to
the National Championship Trophy, which he also hopes to take
(41:07):
home as he leads the number one seed Indiana Hoosiers
into the college football playoff.
Speaker 4 (41:12):
Yes, yes, that is right.
Speaker 3 (41:14):
Yeah, but they don't play for like a month, so
he's not even thinking about it.
Speaker 2 (41:16):
But it's just like, you know, if you just got
out of jail or something like that, you went to
say you went to jail at twenty twenty. Now you
just came out and you turned on the radio and
you heard Steve Jager say that Philip Rivers is starting
for the Colts, You'd be like, huh, that's funny. And
(41:37):
did you hear that the Indiana quarterback won the Heisman
and not only that, Indiana is the one seed and
with this new thing called the College Football Playoff.
Speaker 3 (41:48):
Just go straight back to jail.
Speaker 5 (41:49):
That person turns around right all right, back guilty, guilty, No,
I don't want to deal with this.
Speaker 6 (41:55):
Never mind, if you'd said those things three four months.
Speaker 11 (41:58):
Ago, would be pretty crazy to say.
Speaker 2 (42:00):
Honestly, yeah, Philip Rivers starting an NFL game, it's been
five years.
Speaker 6 (42:06):
Like Mendoza, the Indiana quarterback winning the Heisman with Indiana
the one seed, that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (42:11):
Ago the Heisman Trophy winner went to two colleges and
they are California and Indiana. Like that's wild, dude. And
he was up there next to somebody from Vanderbilt what's next?
Northwestern is getting in the mix probably you know what
(42:32):
I mean, Mississippi State, you know what do we do
is crazy?
Speaker 3 (42:40):
It is crazy. So here we are. Here, we are
Brnana Mendoza winner.
Speaker 4 (42:46):
Let's go to the NFL as he will after the season.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
Is the New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos are
both on ten game win streaks, which I'd love to
know how frequently that happens? Like this says at a side,
like how many times? Because you can only have so
many teams on win streaks.
Speaker 3 (43:04):
Everybody has to play and it's hard to win. So
it's like, yeah, and to maintain a ten that's hard.
Speaker 2 (43:10):
But it's amazing the parallels here because you have two
second year quarterbacks, two second time head coaches, right, and
you have Vayble from Tennessee to New England, trom Peyton
from New Orleans to Denver. But I think they're two
radically different teams. If you had to pick one of
these streaks to end, and there's no trick questions, you
(43:34):
could say neither or yeah, one or all? Which one
of these streaks were snaps? Tomorrow New England plays host
I'm sorry, Yeah, New England hosts.
Speaker 4 (43:46):
Buffalo, right, the Buffalo Bills desperate and for a.
Speaker 2 (43:49):
Win at nine and four, the vibes not necessarily feeling
very nine and four in Buffalo, but still nine and
four Buffalo, or the Denver Broncos, who have the Green
Bay Packers who are nine three and one by feeling
very nine three and one.
Speaker 3 (44:05):
Ish, Yeah this okay, So obviously, like you said, they
neither of them might lose and we might have an
eleven game winning streak. But there's one that I'm leaning
more towards that I think may not have the winning
streak snapped. I think Buffalo is gonna come and right
(44:27):
the ship. I think Buffalo needs to prove that the
when did they lose to the Patriots? Was it like
we two?
Speaker 2 (44:33):
It was a little later on than that, but it
was a Thursday night kind of odd game. They had
a ton of penalties.
Speaker 5 (44:38):
I thought it was earlier in the season.
Speaker 3 (44:39):
So what like you think have like, Okay, it doesn't matter,
it doesn't matter, But I think they're gonna want to
right the ship that they went into that game not
taking New England seriously and they came out losers, and
I think they're gonna try and fix that situation and
prove that they are still the Buffalo Bills and that
their window is not closing, because if you cannot bea Patriots,
(45:00):
then your windows probably your door is shutting down. So
I think the Bills do come out and win.
Speaker 4 (45:08):
It was exactly ten weeks ago, Week five.
Speaker 3 (45:10):
Week five, Okay, I really thought for some reason, I
thought it was we two. Okay, it doesn't matter anyway
when it comes to the Packers and the Broncos. I
don't know what Jordan Love, who has played really well,
He has played well the last what three weeks. The offense,
he just.
Speaker 4 (45:29):
Played well all really all year, last.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
Week more so, right, Like I agree where you where,
because I feel like sometimes I do not give Jordan
Love credit. Like I've always just kind of been like
I don't know if I see I don't know if
if I would, you know, want him to start my franchise,
like that's I just don't know. But in the last
three weeks he has looked really, really well, and so
have the Packers. I get all that. I just don't
know if Green Bay has faced a defense like what
(45:57):
the Broncos are gonna throw at Jordan Love and so
I truly think that if there is a streak that snaps,
its Patriots not done verse.
Speaker 2 (46:09):
I you know, I think this may be controversial. I
think the Patriots are just better than the Bills. Like
the Bills have the better player, right, the Bills have
the best player in the matchup.
Speaker 4 (46:24):
But when I go fifty three for fifty.
Speaker 2 (46:25):
Three and then you include the coaches and everything, I
like the Patriots infrastructure a lot more than I like Buffalo's.
Like I wouldn't say that like neither one of them are. Girl,
you are having a rough in my knee.
Speaker 3 (46:42):
I'm good, so.
Speaker 4 (46:49):
Goodness gracious, she's sick, she can't breathe, she's kicking anything.
Speaker 2 (46:55):
So I'll lets you guys in on a little bit.
MANCI is short, okay, So Moncey is the height to
where if I sit in the chair and she stands up,
we're about even on the cameras and.
Speaker 4 (47:07):
All of that.
Speaker 3 (47:08):
And that usually stand for that.
Speaker 2 (47:09):
She usually stands up. Now, I get it. You know,
I'm tall. I usually sit down. Moncey for some reason
today decide to sit down and can't sit still.
Speaker 5 (47:21):
I can't sit still.
Speaker 3 (47:22):
That's why I stand. Okay, back to you, I know
I'm sorry. I'm sorry you're saying that, Like when you
when you compare the roster, you like the Patriots roster
overall better. But I don't know if necessarily that's true.
So you prefer ramondre Stevenson and Travon Henderson over James Cook.
Speaker 2 (47:42):
Yeah, I think just like I would say James Cook.
Sure only aggregate. I'm not saying the Bills are devoid
of talent, but I look at the wide receivers for Buffalo.
Speaker 4 (47:51):
I look at the wide receivers from New England. Call
to Wash.
Speaker 2 (47:54):
I look at the defensive backs of Buffalo. I look
at the defensive backs of New England. Gimme Marcus Jones,
gimme Kyle. I'll take those guys, right. I look at
the line, the linebackers like if Matt Malonald's not healthy,
I'd rather have like you know, I saying, and he's
out consistently. I look at the defensive line, all right, okay,
but what and what? Look at the offensive line? No comparison.
(48:14):
To me, it was way better that offensive line, even
after losing Will Campbell. Right. And also, Josh doesn't help
with some of the way that he plays his style
of play, invites sacks like that, that was it eight
sacks versus Houston, Like he ran into like a smooth
forum like he aren't like they didn't earn all those
sacks that offensive line.
Speaker 4 (48:34):
But still so okay.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
If you want to have the traveon Henderson Remindre Stevenson
debate with James Cook, Sure, I'm willing to have it.
Speaker 4 (48:45):
But when you go everywhere.
Speaker 2 (48:46):
Else, do you know what I'm saying, It's like to me,
it just feels like that team, just top to bottom,
is better and and and I think the biggest thing
is I think they're better coached.
Speaker 3 (48:57):
Okay, I don't necessarily disagree with that obviously, Like what
the Patriots have done this year is incredible with Drake
May second year and all that going on, It's just like,
I guess a matter of trusting, I'm gonna trust Josh
Allen in this situation over Drake May. And if you
look at the Patriots, like, yeah, they beat the Bills,
(49:19):
but they're who are the other teams that they beat
that you were just like, yes, that was a good win.
Speaker 2 (49:25):
No you go if you want to go resume style, sure,
it's the most impressive thing about the ten game win
streak is the fact they've won all the games in
the row, not necessarily who the opponents are. But I
just don't it's more of a it's more of.
Speaker 4 (49:42):
An anti Buffalo. It's more of a I just don't.
Speaker 2 (49:45):
See like the AFC seems to be wide open and
everybody's like seeming like Buffalo is gonna take that step.
I expect them to have a little bit of trouble
in this matchup. I would not be surprised if they lose.
I think they're gonna be a card team. I think
New England is going to well. Obviously, when the wins tomorrow,
they'll wint, right, So I think though, I think there'll
(50:07):
be the wild card in the AFC East, and I
don't think that they will.
Speaker 4 (50:12):
They I do not think they will be the.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
Outright favorite for the Super Bowl. Well, I think that
would be one of the but outright favorite, like a
clear cut favorite in the AFC to win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (50:22):
I don't see that.
Speaker 3 (50:23):
And the thing is, like the way this season has gone,
both of the teams with this win streak, these win
streaks could really lose to lose tomorrow and it just
be because you need it was bound to happen.
Speaker 5 (50:34):
It was just bound to happen.
Speaker 3 (50:36):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (50:37):
Like teams, it's hard to win.
Speaker 3 (50:39):
It is hard to win, whether you're playing a below
average team or not, it is hard to win.
Speaker 5 (50:43):
To win to the roadstarts, it's.
Speaker 3 (50:44):
Like both of them may lose, and it may not
be because they didn't play what it was just about time.
It's about damn time.
Speaker 2 (50:53):
I would say, I think that both of these streaks continue.
Speaker 3 (50:56):
You think they both continue.
Speaker 4 (50:57):
I think they're both continue. I think that Denver Denver.
Speaker 3 (51:00):
Yeah, I'm telling you, I think Denver is going to
give Jordan Love a hard time.
Speaker 2 (51:04):
I am because to your point that you were making
earlier in the segment. Jordan Love historically the joke is
the Toyota throng thing all normally gets better in December.
Right as it becomes a December, to remember, he becomes
a better you know, he started out really really good
this year. So as you improve with that, you don't
say is there more?
Speaker 4 (51:26):
Is there a bigger hill to climb?
Speaker 2 (51:28):
But I'm fascinated to see how they deal with those
ads rushers, how I deal with certain and that Denver defense.
The Denver defense is formidable Oklahoma City is getting ready
to play in.
Speaker 3 (51:38):
The NBA Cup America's team.
Speaker 4 (51:41):
Uh, I'm gonna predict the final score.
Speaker 2 (51:47):
Okay, see versus the Spurs, Victor Winbyama's.
Speaker 3 (51:51):
Playing limited minutes though.
Speaker 4 (51:52):
Limited minutes for Victor.
Speaker 3 (51:56):
Oh, you're really just one five.
Speaker 4 (52:00):
Till one oh seven?
Speaker 3 (52:02):
Wow? Oklahoma in Oklahoma City?
Speaker 4 (52:07):
Yes, because and then we'll get back to the NFL.
Just a second.
Speaker 2 (52:13):
If I was in the NBA on another team besides
the Thunder, I'd be embarrassed.
Speaker 4 (52:20):
They are whooping.
Speaker 3 (52:21):
Every everybody night, Like, what did they lost one game?
Speaker 4 (52:25):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (52:26):
And to the point, the story is what happened that
odd night with Portland?
Speaker 3 (52:31):
Yes, retired?
Speaker 2 (52:33):
What happened then? Like, it's not that they are winning,
it's how it is that they're winning. I sat there
the other day, do I'm doing us shed twenty eight,
Chand had to twenty seven, and Chay played twenty nine
minutes and Chad played twenty five.
Speaker 4 (52:53):
They're working at the time.
Speaker 2 (52:55):
It's like they're using AI and everybody else is using
the encyclopedia.
Speaker 3 (53:00):
I'm sorry, it's not it's not helping the NBA because
people don't like the Thunder and there it's their championship
to lose.
Speaker 5 (53:09):
There's no other team.
Speaker 2 (53:10):
It is there.
Speaker 5 (53:11):
They're gonna win, They're gonna win.
Speaker 2 (53:12):
It is a four gone yeah at this point, Like
and you have to say, because I was talking about
this with some with the friend of mine, like how
far gone is the conclusion that the thunder are going
to win the championship? Right? Like it's not interesting to
say that they're just going to win it, right, It's like,
how like I think it would take, like to lose.
Speaker 4 (53:35):
Three starters in a series.
Speaker 3 (53:37):
In a series in a series, correct, because.
Speaker 2 (53:40):
If they lost, like like if Shay got hurt tonight,
Guy forbid and then got healthy again from now don't care,
Jayleen Williams don't care, other Jayalen Williams don't care, chat
don't care. You know what I'm saying, Like you like,
it doesn't matter, It doesn't none of them matter on
the act. But like I think you have to it
would have to be like that the Cleveland series where
(54:01):
Kevin Love's shoulder got hurt, Kyrie got hurt, you know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (54:05):
It would have to be like that absolutely.
Speaker 2 (54:06):
Stretch and then also Lebron would you hurt? You have
to be that type of stretch for it to matter.
I mean, you're looking at Dylan Harper has been playing
great this year, Victor webin Yama has been.
Speaker 4 (54:19):
Good when he's out there.
Speaker 2 (54:21):
He got hurt, and it's like that this is supposed on.
Speaker 3 (54:24):
Castle has been good, right, right right?
Speaker 2 (54:25):
He was one for thirty the other night.
Speaker 11 (54:27):
Yeah, Darren Fox too, darn Fox.
Speaker 4 (54:29):
This should be an exciting matchup.
Speaker 3 (54:31):
We'll see if it is.
Speaker 2 (54:32):
This should be something that like it's Saturday night, yeah,
nine to fifteen Eastern. You know, basketball fans like ourselves
should be into this. Yeah, except it's just about to
be a molly wopping.
Speaker 3 (54:45):
I do hope you're wrong. I hope you're wrong, but
it's it's it seems that way.
Speaker 2 (54:49):
I don't know. I haven't looked at any I don't
know what to spread it on the I just know
that Oklahoma City.
Speaker 3 (54:55):
Scores a lot. Hello, they don't stop scoring, they don't
stop scoring, and they don't stop playing defense.
Speaker 2 (55:03):
It's just it's just it's they just commit the worst
crime to me in sports. They're boring because they're so good,
their personalities are boring.
Speaker 3 (55:11):
And it's crazy that you think that you said that.
I think you said there's an aura. What time we
were talking like about it. You're like, there's no aura,
And I think that's what it is. There's no aura.
Even though for them they're like we talking about we're
just we just like to hoop. We're just like friends
of Hoop.
Speaker 2 (55:25):
They're like very much like act like I've been there
before and I'm like, why why why.
Speaker 3 (55:33):
Yeah, And they're only gonna get better because my clippers
sucks so bad. They're gonna get a first round pick next.
Speaker 4 (55:38):
Year of silver. Should step in yea, do something?
Speaker 2 (55:42):
Yeah, do something. Speaking of that trade or trades in general,
we have seen one, oh any one trade like this
in NFL history. A lot of people keep calling it.
Speaker 4 (55:54):
A win win, you know, like it. I think it
might be a win lose, like not.
Speaker 2 (56:03):
A win completely got blown out, but it might have
been a win lose win win for this people say it.
Speaker 4 (56:09):
I don't buy it. Does Manci?

(57:16):
It has been universally accepted that the one trade of
its kind, the first time the two number one overall
picks have been traded for one another in the NFL,
Jared Goff at Matt Stafford was just a win win,
a real win win. However, the Lions are at the
(57:39):
you know, the peak of their powers at this point, right.
You know what I'm saying, Over the last four years,
I've never had an experience of success that they've had.
Over the last four years, only the Rams have won
the Super Bowl. So when people say it's a win win,
I look bad. And you look at the Lions team
(58:03):
that right now, they were my pick to win the
Super Bowl this year. That team does not look ready
to win a Super Bowl at all. The Rams had
old man Stafford sitting on the sidelines in the fourth
quarter and says, you know what, Matt, put the baseball
cap on, put your feet up, Let Jimmy take it
from here. We had a thirty five point lead and
there's fifteen minutes left. We're good.
Speaker 4 (58:24):
Right.
Speaker 2 (58:25):
The Rams are a machine right now. And think of
the losses that they have won. Off the top of
my head, if I Jared versus Jalen Carter jumping over
the field goal, blocking, catching the field goal, basically running
into the end zone, they should have won that game.
Speaker 3 (58:42):
Right They lost to the Panthers.
Speaker 2 (58:46):
Hey never doubt Bryce Young ever doubt Yon stands up
for her shirt king, But I just say, like, do
you do you the Lions have had the more most
successful Jared Goff the Day ever had ever. But still
we call this a win win. The Rams won the
(59:06):
Super Bowl. Rams right now look like the powerhouse that
could go back to the Super Bowl. Lions lost to
the command I.
Speaker 3 (59:16):
Hear what you're saying, but I think I think you
are looking at it from the perspective of a fan
of the Lions and Detroit, right, this was a win
win Martin. I know it doesn't seem that way because
of what the Rams are doing, but the Lions last
year should not have lost to the Commanders.
Speaker 5 (59:36):
That's where they messed up.
Speaker 2 (59:38):
See, and that's why I say it's a win lose
because they lost.
Speaker 3 (59:42):
Right right right And I and I totally hear what
you're saying because now the round they didn't just win.
We thought the Rams were going to take a step
back and that they were going to rebuild, and instead
is the exact opposite. And they are favorite to win
the Super Bowl right right now. They're favorite over the Seahawks.
I think they're the favorites to win.
Speaker 4 (59:57):
Much the top of the division right so definitely a
better outse.
Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
Like, I understand what you're saying, but the Lions had it.
The Lions were there, the Lions could taste it, and
it just did not happen. And so they had the opportunity.
They weren't able to capitalize on it because why because
it's hard to win, Because it's hard to win a
damn football game. And they missed the opportunity. But it
(01:00:21):
was a win win the Lions. Like you said, the
success the Lions have had in the last four years
has not been something that Detroit was used to. All
of the literally never never, never experienced, right, like all
of the streaks of losing games on these days and
on this thing, all of that was all that is gone.
(01:00:41):
The whole the whole team, the whole city, everything turned around.
It was a win, win, and they were there, they
had the opportunity, and it slipped out of their hands.
Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
I just said, and I think you know, the Rams
won Super Bowl, win, another NFC Championship Game appearance. You
know what I'm saying, We'll see how this one plays
out this year, which is you know what I'm saying.
But it's like that, yeah, that's that's my thing. It's
like since they've gotten him, since they have paired Stafford
and McVeigh. Together, they have been a consistent Super Bowl
(01:01:13):
contender save one year, right, the Lions obviously had to
build up a bit, and he's like, you just wonder
when you get to those moments, is Jared Goff going
to be able to be Like, is Jared Goff going
to be able to deliver in the biggest moments.
Speaker 4 (01:01:29):
Matt Stafford is the type of guy you.
Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
Think can And that's fair to ask, especially because I
feel like when you see when you see Jared Goff's
protection not be there, he gets rattled and he's not
great when he's rattled. There are other quarterbacks who handle
it a little bit better, right, he seems to not
handle it well. So I understand that. But there have
been games that Detroit has lost that they shouldn't have lost,
(01:01:53):
and it wasn't because of Jared Goff. It's just like
they've just missed little opportunities when the others are capitalizing.
Speaker 5 (01:01:59):
And it's crazy the ram situation because at the start.
Speaker 3 (01:02:01):
Of the season it was like, Matthew Stafford has a
back issue and I literally was like, well, yeah, of
course he's an old man, he's not gonna play, and
then here he is.
Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
Yeah, I think that back issue is more of a
I would like to lay back and not work out all.
That's what it was I do.
Speaker 4 (01:02:14):
I thought it honestly the whole time.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
I thought that this, this back issue feels to me
like more of a like I put it like this
the back issue he had, he still got. He like
whatever issue we had before, He's like he had it
going in. It sounds kind of the same way with
like Michael Parsons and they were like, oh, he's got
a back injury. D I think all you gotta do
(01:02:36):
is get an MRI. You can find something. You know
what I'm saying, Like, you can find something.
Speaker 5 (01:02:41):
You're right, right, that's true, find something.
Speaker 2 (01:02:44):
To poke at and say, Okay, well that back I
don't like the way that feels.
Speaker 3 (01:02:49):
But if that's true, then that's even crazier what the
Rams have done. It's true that they're like, yeah, just
sit out this entire preseason.
Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
You see what I'm saying. That's why I feel like, Okay,
so win win. Sure one side won more, Yes.
Speaker 3 (01:03:05):
They did, and they're still but like the lines were there,
they could have done it. They could have done it.
To say that they weren't, there is a lie That's
why it's like it was a win win. It's just
they capitalized on it.
Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
It was they were winning until they.
Speaker 3 (01:03:18):
Lost, until they lost, and it was just not good.
Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
There's been three minutes played in this basketball game, and okay,
she has triple the amount of points that san Antonio does.
For more on that and everything else in the world
of sports, Steve de Sager.
Speaker 9 (01:03:33):
Victor winb and Yama is gonna come in off the
bench for the Spurs tonight. He returns after missing a
month with a strained calf. One seed Oklahoma City has
won sixteen in a row. They're up twelve to four
in the early minutes against the Spurs. This is the
second semi final in Vegas tonight of the NBA Cup.
New York already advanced over Orlando, a top seed, one
(01:03:54):
thirty two to one twenty Jalen Brunson forty points. The
Knick shot sixty one percent from the floor. Karl Anthony
Towns had twenty nine points in the victory. The NBA's
tournament final is also in Las Vegas on Tuesday. The
Calves Evan Mobley is due to miss two to four
weeks with a strained calf. Philadelphia guard Tyrese Maxey is
doubtful for Sunday due to illness. Minnesota's Anthony Edwards is
(01:04:17):
questionable with the sore foot. Hawk's guard Trey Young is
due to return to practice next week. He's been out
since late October. With the spring to MCL in college basketball,
nineteenth rank Kansas won in overtime at NC State seventy
seven seventy six. Ninth ranked Michigan State was a winner
at Penn State seventy six seventy two. Twenty third rank
Nebraska won on a last second three at number thirteen Illinois,
(01:04:39):
eighty three to eighty Coming up tonight in Seattle, it's

playing twelfth ranked Alabama in Birmingham. That's about to get underway,
and there's a game on Fox TV early second half,

(01:05:00):
In women soups. Number one Connecticut won at sixteenth Rane

for Minnesota and New Jersey currently in progress. Edmonton up
late six to two at Toronto. And the Hurricanes are
tied three to three as a start overtime at Philadelphia.
There is a college football game going on Tonight's. The
(01:05:21):
LA Bowl has Washington now up seventeen to three on
Boise State under two minutes to go till halftime. Navy
defeated Army seventeen sixteen on a touchdown pass with about
six and a half minutes left on a fourth and goal.
In Baltimore, the Heisman Trophy was won by Indiana quarterback
Fernando Mendoza, transfer from cal He had thirty three touchdown
(01:05:42):
passes just six interceptions. Transfers have won the Heisman four
straight years now. Mendoza had about six hundred and fifty
first place votes to about two hundred for the runner up,
Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia. Notre Dame running back Jeremiah Love
finished third in voting. Quarterbacks have won twenty of the
past twenty four Heisman votes Back to.
Speaker 2 (01:06:02):
You twenty and the last twenty four. I'm looking at you,
Steve Hartman.
Speaker 9 (01:06:09):
Not Travis Hunt. Last year. In other words, that was
pretty rare.
Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
I mean, and what the boy have to do defense offense?
Damn they needed to be the Kicker too to win the.
Speaker 9 (01:06:18):
Heisman, although Ashton Genty was a close second, also non
quarterback last year.
Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
You said it, so let me get I got a
question for you, Steve. You said, the six hundred and
fifty votes for Mendoza first place votes, first place votes? Now,
is there is there some level of calculation where like
a vote counts for three points or is that actual?
Speaker 9 (01:06:41):
This means literally the number of Yeah, so.
Speaker 4 (01:06:43):
How many people vote on this? Damn won't they almost
a thousand? Do we need that many?
Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
Should that many people be decided to just.
Speaker 9 (01:06:51):
Looked at each other, like, man, if somebody actually has
a Heisman vote, maybe that's not that big of a deal.
Speaker 2 (01:06:57):
You know, I wasn't gonna go all the way that are,
but I just felt like.
Speaker 4 (01:07:03):
So you mean to tell me?
Speaker 11 (01:07:05):
Yes, I'm telling you that that.
Speaker 2 (01:07:08):
Over nearly a thousand people decide the Heisman, an award
that ultimately means relatively little to everybody who to anybody
who doesn't get it right, like you're saying, if you
don't get it, then it's like it's.
Speaker 9 (01:07:22):
Not like people don't remember the runner.
Speaker 4 (01:07:24):
Up, right right?
Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
Over a thousand people decide that just about But how
many people decide the college football playoff like.
Speaker 9 (01:07:33):
One committee thirteen talking back and forth. Well, it's people
in a room that decide the Hall of Fame for
pro football.
Speaker 2 (01:07:41):
But even that's close to fifty people.
Speaker 11 (01:07:43):
Still, it's not a thousand, right.
Speaker 2 (01:07:45):
It's not a thousand, I think because at least, for
better or for worse, you can have a sense of
general consensus of that thousand people that Fernando Mendoze, you know,
that's that's a mass.
Speaker 9 (01:07:56):
The amazing thing to me is there were about five
percent of the Heisman voters that actually didn't have him
listed on the ballot.
Speaker 2 (01:08:05):
They returned. I would love to see those. But also
I think part of it is we now are getting
in this weird space where.
Speaker 9 (01:08:14):
If you have been the winner is not on your
Heisman ballot, should you risk losing your vote?
Speaker 7 (01:08:20):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
Absolutely, not on the ballot at all.
Speaker 4 (01:08:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:08:25):
I'm willing, sorry, what.
Speaker 4 (01:08:26):
I am willing to hear an argument and justification.
Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
I am not saying I'm willing to accept that just
on his face, But you can make a case to me.
Speaker 4 (01:08:37):
I'm sure it's out there.
Speaker 9 (01:08:38):
I would also for and this used to be a
problem in the pre Internet days of Heisman voting. I
would also take the Heisman vote away from people who
return their ballots in October.
Speaker 4 (01:08:49):
See that, to me is should not happen one bit.
Speaker 9 (01:08:53):
Should never happen. You're voting on the best player for
the season, and the season isn't over.
Speaker 2 (01:08:57):
The advent of the internet in the way this all
gets out. Obviously it helped to be able to see
more games all this, but I also think it helped
to like vote shame in a way because I we
all watched this college football season. Fernando Mendoza had a
great year. But did he have a year that was
(01:09:19):
three times better than Diego Pavia by by the like
rough math of the voting, Like.
Speaker 9 (01:09:24):
He did have the most touchdown passes and he had
a quote Heisman moment that comeback against Penn State. I
mean even forgetting the big ten touch sure.
Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
But but I guess my Pavia was great, but Pavi
was great. Jeremiah Love was great. It's just like to
hear that Fernando Mendoza in a year where we have
consistently said, you know, the Heisman Trophy is kind of
you know, it's it's probably Mendoza's, but there was no
clear cut guy for him to win by that large
of a margin kind of bothers me a bit, and
(01:09:55):
it makes me feel like people are afraid to get
like made fun if they're somehow found out that they
didn't that they put Mendoza third or something like that.
Speaker 9 (01:10:06):
Two amazing things about these two guys that finished one
two for the Heisman. They're both transfers. I mean, we
had a guy who was quarterbacking Cal and a guy
who was quarterbacking New Mexico State finished one two for
the Heisman Trophy this year. Also, they each completed seventy
one percent of their passes this year. How things have
(01:10:26):
changed in college football with the transfer and how things
have changed in football with the completion percentage.
Speaker 4 (01:10:32):
That's the speed of the game. Speaking of one of
my favorite things to go.
Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
Back and do you go back on YouTube and watch
like Johnny Manziela Texas A and M Really it was
because they kept calling Caleb Williams Johnny manziel get similar vibes.
So I went back and watched.
Speaker 9 (01:10:49):
This with the amazing plays. I wouldn't necessarily agree with
the comparison.
Speaker 2 (01:10:53):
No, but I'm talking about the play to play on
the field like Caleb was coming out of college.
Speaker 4 (01:10:58):
That was one of the comps.
Speaker 2 (01:10:59):
I went back and why watched the Johnny Manziel Texas
A and m versus Alabama game, and all you can
hear is I believe Brent Musburger and Gary Danielson talking
about how fast they're going and they're snapping the ball
with like thirteen seconds left on the play clock.
Speaker 4 (01:11:14):
Like all the speed of this team. And it's like, Buddy, yeah,
don't you well, you just wait a few.
Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
Years, pal, this dude named Tim Kelly gonna come in
and really speed this.
Speaker 9 (01:11:23):
Band in Oklahoma's offense. I remember all the forty five
to forty type of games the Big Twelve had and
Oklahoma was there. I will add with Pavia is this
is two years as the Vanderbilt quarterback. That he's eight
hundred yards rushing too in a season that's not as
long as the NFL eight hundred yards rushing from a quarterback.
Speaker 4 (01:11:42):
I do wonder what his uh, what his pro prospects are.
Speaker 9 (01:11:47):
I know, I know I didn't think munch of the
pro prospects of Bryce Young frankly because of the stature.
Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
Steve.
Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
I'll tell you something, I saw a Bryce Young in
person and didn't think much of the pro prospects of
Bryce Young because he came up. I mean, I'm not
saying this to be funny at all, Monzi, he is
not You are not that much shorter than Rice and.
Speaker 9 (01:12:06):
He won the Heisman.
Speaker 4 (01:12:07):
Well, I'm not I speak. I'm not trying to faultim
or Web. I'm saying, like he looks little, he's closer
to you than me.
Speaker 3 (01:12:15):
I mean he looks he looks little.
Speaker 9 (01:12:17):
Doesn't mean you can't have a career, Bryce, You mean
I had Drew Brees. Bryce Young was number one over always.
Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
They not sure.
Speaker 9 (01:12:23):
Uh, Drew Brees had an amazingly long and superb career
and it's going to get in the Hall of Fame.
Not saying no. By the way, I love the speech
of Mendoza tonight after the Indiana QB won the Heisman,
and I'll probably watch it again when they air it
again because it was that good about to all of
those people who they say you're not enough for you,
(01:12:44):
you don't have the measurables, or you're the if you
got the heart, if you're efforting, somebody takes an interest
in it can happen. Look at me, I'm living proof
he's talking about that this can happen.
Speaker 4 (01:12:56):
Yeah, gms are going to love that kid like he is.
Speaker 2 (01:13:01):
I don't know how he.
Speaker 9 (01:13:03):
Him in a way that no GM will ever love
Kyler Murray exactly.
Speaker 4 (01:13:08):
Like it's just like so much just who won the Heisman?
Speaker 2 (01:13:12):
Team Team, team, Like as soon as I saw that
clip where he was like, do you see the way
my offensive linemen get pounded?
Speaker 4 (01:13:19):
Of course I have to get up.
Speaker 2 (01:13:20):
It's like, oh, okay, well all right, well we're gonna
run through a wall, now, are we? Fan Fernando, Is
that how we're gonna do this? We're just gonna be
running through walls? Can you imagine if the Pittsburgh Steelers
somehow draft him? Like I know that it's like he's
slated goal number one right now. But there's a lot
between now and the drafts.
Speaker 9 (01:13:35):
Hell, who used to say the Steelers are getting in
the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (01:13:38):
Right this time last year? She George Anders was the
second pick of the draft.
Speaker 2 (01:13:42):
So but like, if the Steelers somehow fine find their
way to draft Fernando Mendoza the Wednesday press conference starting
quarterback and.
Speaker 4 (01:13:50):
Coach the quotes out of Pittsburgh, you could do a.
Speaker 2 (01:13:54):
Year long motivational calendar day day, day by day by
just those two, just those two of like, yep, just
every all the little inspirational.
Speaker 4 (01:14:03):
You know.
Speaker 9 (01:14:04):
I would love to see some great NFL coach QB
combination love fest and success like we see with Harbaugh
and Justin Herbert, because that's an extremely talented quarterback and
it's obviously a guy that has quite a resume as
a head coach, and they are understandably superb together and
(01:14:29):
they really love this pairing. And man if they had
an offensive line.
Speaker 2 (01:14:34):
Okay, and watch out what Justin Herbert did? Was it
Thursday night? That Thursday night game, Monday night, Morinday night? Well,
Justin Herbert did it that Monday night game, like with
the Eagles. Not even to be dramatic, but it's like,
I'm getting goosebumps. Man, I'm like, this is what I
signed up for, is to watch people do things that
are just like seemingly superhuman.
Speaker 9 (01:14:55):
One week removed from a procedure on a broken left
hand and still running, especially because he had to because
he got pressured more than any other game in his
pro career that night.
Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
Justin Herbert had a lot to lose that game, but
he ended up winning it. Find out who else has
more to lose? Coming up next, the NFC South was
at stake in the first game of week fifteen. The
Tampa Bay.
Speaker 4 (01:15:23):
Buccaneers had more to lose and Todd Bowls.
Speaker 2 (01:15:25):
Let everybody know about it, Martin Wise, Monci Bolanos, it's
time to play more the game, more to lose.
Speaker 6 (01:15:31):
Just waiting for music is all right, we show host
exactly all right. So yeah, time to play more to
lose slash more to win still kind of workshopping the
game if you're stuck with us week to week here,
but I'm gonna ask you guys a series of questions
here about some upcoming games for this weekend.
Speaker 4 (01:15:53):
There's a lot of music playing right now.
Speaker 6 (01:15:55):
Yeah, a lot of music at once. Okay, so more
to lose Ravens or Bengals. Start with you, Martin, I.
Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
Would say the Ravens have more to lose to the
Bengals have already lost it. The Bengals have already lost it.
The Ravens have more to lose at this point. Your
quarterback shit end up talking about I'm not having fun anymore.
Like the Ravens have everything in front of them. Theoretically,
they're going to lose this game to the sad sack
literally sad Cincinnati Bengals and give up the division.
Speaker 3 (01:16:28):
Yes, he is right, but more specifically, who has more
to lose? It's John Harbaugh. John Harbaugh, I think is
maybe in the hot seat right now, and it's not
necessarily being discussed because your team does not look good
in any way, shape or form, and your offense has
been non existent for the last three four weeks. Your
(01:16:49):
defense is up and down, and you were expected to
not be in this situation where you're probably not gonna
make a playoffs. That is not what the Ravens thought
this season was going to be like. So who is
the most to lose?
Speaker 5 (01:17:00):
It's Sean Harbaugh.
Speaker 6 (01:17:02):
Gonna give the point to Mancie this round, just for
being a little more specific on which side. Specific Next up,
who's got more to lose? Raiders and the Eagles start
with you this time, ANSI.
Speaker 5 (01:17:14):
The Raiders and the Eagles. Raiders have nothing to lose
at this It's obviously.
Speaker 6 (01:17:20):
Well they could lose the number one pick. It's kind
of the way I was looking at it there, so.
Speaker 3 (01:17:25):
Anything can happen that I feel like just to put
that when there's so many games. Three weeks left, technically right,
three weeks, there's still three games. Anything can happen, and
let me tell you, somebody else is fighting to get
that number one pick. So I don't feel like the
Raiders have much to lose. It's obviously the Eagles are
the ones that have the most to lose. And I
think it's really on Jalen Hurts. Jalen Hurts, he is
(01:17:46):
he gets the criticism whether they win or they lose,
like if they if they win, hardly ever is Jalen
Hurts getting the credit for the win. It's like the
Eagles win when they lose. Jalen Hurts lost the ball,
lost the game, and he lost me and my fantasy
football team. How many interceptions did he have twenty seven?
I don't know, but he lost me. I lost by
two and I didn't get into the playoffs. So Jalen Hurts,
(01:18:08):
based on just the inconsistency and how people feel about him,
I think it's him that has the most to lose
in this game. He's got to bounce back.
Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
See she just said, it's back and forth to Jailen hers.
No matter what he does, he can't win. This is
nick Year, Yanni has the most to lose by far,
because NX year Yanni's supposed to be the guy who's
patrol the locker room. You go from it's the bunny,
you have the positivity bunny. He's backing away from that,
he's not claiming it, and it's all about, oh, he's
a winner, he's got that locker room and check as
(01:18:36):
soon as you start losing, you're no longer a winner.
And now that people start to really look at what
you did, you shaved the head Britney Spears style last year.
Speaker 4 (01:18:45):
What do you have to pull out this year? I
don't know?
Speaker 11 (01:18:47):
All right, point Martin on that one.
Speaker 3 (01:18:49):
Only because you got fun You got funny.
Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
With that one, Creativity win.
Speaker 3 (01:18:53):
Creativity does win.
Speaker 6 (01:18:54):
Next up, who's got more to gain this time? Between
the Packers and the Broncos in that matchup?
Speaker 11 (01:19:00):
What you got, Martin, I'm gonna go with bow Knicks.
Speaker 2 (01:19:04):
Bow Knicks is the only reason that people are saying
that Denver is not a super Bowl team. If Denver,
if bo Knicks comes out and plays well against Michael
Parsons and the vaalt to Green Bay Packer defense, who
afterday traded for him, are going.
Speaker 4 (01:19:15):
Straight to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
If bow Knicks comes out and plays well, there's a
prohibitive favorite in the AFC, and it's Denver. He's the
only thing that has people worried about this team.
Speaker 3 (01:19:26):
I like that answer.
Speaker 4 (01:19:27):
Yeah, step up, Manzi.
Speaker 3 (01:19:29):
Yeah, that's a good answer. That's a good answer.
Speaker 5 (01:19:31):
Here's the Packers.
Speaker 3 (01:19:34):
Denver has a little bit more of a cushion when
it comes to their division, and when it comes to
the position that they're in, the Eagles cannot they wait.
Speaker 11 (01:19:43):
Sorry, hold on, where my Packers?
Speaker 2 (01:19:44):
Thank you?
Speaker 3 (01:19:45):
Sorry? Sorry, sorry, the Packers. The Packers right now are
at the top of the NFC North, but the Bears
aren't going anywhere. Lions aren't going anywhere. They're not number
one in there in the NFC. Like the Packers have
the most to gain because they don't have the cushion
that the Broncos have.
Speaker 11 (01:20:01):
That's a close one.
Speaker 6 (01:20:02):
I'm gonna give the point to Martin just because Moncey
opened her point by saying, that's a great point.
Speaker 3 (01:20:06):
He had a great point.
Speaker 2 (01:20:07):
She also, I mean, you know, I'm not trying to nitpick,
but she also did say Eagles in.
Speaker 4 (01:20:12):
The middle of it.
Speaker 3 (01:20:12):
I did, obviously, obviously because we just talked about that.
Speaker 6 (01:20:16):
I'm not a fan of doing the points here. I'm
just gonna say that.
Speaker 2 (01:20:19):
No, it's supposed to be.
Speaker 5 (01:20:20):
No, there's got to be a loser, exactly.
Speaker 4 (01:20:23):
The sports radio.
Speaker 1 (01:20:27):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:20:31):
That's right, Martin Wise Monski Blano is broadcasting live from
the Fox Sports Radio studios, Monster looking at two college
basketball games being played, and I have to salute two
of the coaches right now. On first, Buzz Williams from
Maryland and the next Mark Pope for Kentucky.
Speaker 4 (01:20:49):
I hope Maryland loses, but I hope Kentucky wins.
Speaker 2 (01:20:51):
They're up seventy to fifty eight right now, about ninety
seconds left in the second half.
Speaker 4 (01:20:55):
Because they were in time.
Speaker 3 (01:20:56):
I was gonna say, I literally was gonna ask is
it because of their outfits?
Speaker 2 (01:21:00):
It's because they were, like, yeah, I on the list
of things that needs to be fixed in the NBA.
No more colored courts besides the color of wood. Yes,
Less alternate jerseys, yes, I don't know who's.
Speaker 3 (01:21:16):
Playing, and stopped making fans buy another jersey.
Speaker 4 (01:21:20):
And third, where a tie? Where a tie?
Speaker 3 (01:21:24):
Can they not wear a tie on Saturday Sundays? Can
it be like a Monday through Friday. If you have
a basketball game, you got to show up a little
bit better. No, every day you.
Speaker 2 (01:21:33):
Make millions of dollars, wear a tie.
Speaker 11 (01:21:35):
What about what about football? Football coaches?
Speaker 2 (01:21:38):
Football coaches have never worn ties.
Speaker 3 (01:21:39):
I'm okay, true, true.
Speaker 6 (01:21:42):
Back in the Super Bowl one and two days, they yeah,
Lombardi would show up in the trench coat.
Speaker 2 (01:21:47):
But the Cowboys guy, yeah, I had it before you
asked me. Tom Landry, that guy about to say I was,
but the middle school and King of the Hill is
named for him, and he asked me and to put
me on the spot. But I'm saying in the last
you know, since what the last forty years, like, it's
(01:22:08):
been pretty standard for them to dress weather appropriately, right
like essentially for football.
Speaker 5 (01:22:14):
I guess that's right. Weather, Yeah, they.
Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
Dressed weather appropriately a football baseball they wear the doug
On uniform. I'm in on that they actually are wearing
the uniform. But I cannot stand that every basketball coach
in America looks like they're coaching third period pe And
they all looked to say, all, I cannot like sitting
here watching this game from across the room, I cannot
(01:22:39):
tell you definitively which one to standing up? But if
he sat down, I couldn't tell you who the head
coach of the Thunder was just looking at the screen,
you know what I'm saying. They got to zoom in
on him because I can't tell what his style is.
Speaker 3 (01:22:53):
Why are the Thunder wearing this color?
Speaker 4 (01:22:57):
This is this is the problem.
Speaker 3 (01:22:58):
The fire.
Speaker 2 (01:22:59):
It's just all is why, like, why is it so bright?
Speaker 4 (01:23:03):
You know what, it's a football season.
Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
Let's make some pick.
Speaker 6 (01:23:08):
Yeah, before we go over to that, I just, yeah,
what color are the fire they're wearing?
Speaker 11 (01:23:11):
Orange or red? It it's orange?
Speaker 5 (01:23:13):
Right, It's like a fire. It's like a fire rage.
Speaker 6 (01:23:16):
I can't tell if it's just the TV quality messing
with us.
Speaker 3 (01:23:19):
I don't think so. I really don't think so. It
doesn't look red. It looks like it's on a fire.
Speaker 4 (01:23:24):
Yeah, the NBA where you know you're not colorblind?
Speaker 6 (01:23:28):
No more suggesting or no more subjecting. That's the word
I like this. So all right, let's let's recap from
last week Week fourteen. Mansi went four and one, Martin
went five and up. Very successful. The one that I
missed you, the one you missed was cults.
Speaker 3 (01:23:48):
That's right, that's right, that's right.
Speaker 2 (01:23:50):
I almost did I know weird stuff half is on
there sharing enough. Philip Rivers is starting for them next week.
What did I say?
Speaker 3 (01:23:57):
And the whole the whole season, you haven't even really
been on the Colts, but you were starting to turn
a leave a little bit and then this happened.
Speaker 11 (01:24:05):
But here's where things get really interesting. Guys.
Speaker 6 (01:24:06):
Overall, I see thirty six and thirty one, Martin, thirty
six and thirty one.
Speaker 11 (01:24:12):
Big Week.
Speaker 6 (01:24:13):
Here, guys, Big week, someone takes the lead. So let's
start with this week fifteen matchups. The Los Angeles Chargers
are going to Arrowhead to take on the Chiefs. The
Chiefs have been struggling, as we've talked about. They still
are favored by six points here at home.
Speaker 2 (01:24:28):
Are you serious it.
Speaker 3 (01:24:29):
Has gone up?
Speaker 11 (01:24:29):
I'm serious.
Speaker 5 (01:24:30):
It has gone up, like every single day.
Speaker 3 (01:24:33):
I kid you not. It started at three, four, three
and a half four, Now it's at six. It has
gone up. I don't know why. I don't know if
the bets are not coming in.
Speaker 11 (01:24:41):
It's fun. It's like more.
Speaker 6 (01:24:42):
The more time that passes since the last time we
saw Kansas City lose the we just lose memory of it.
And we just say, oh, they're the Chiefs, they'll figure
it out. But what they've been putting on the field
is not good.
Speaker 5 (01:24:52):
Oh okay, I'll start listen the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (01:24:55):
It's crazy because they're the same there's such a similar
team that they were last year, except their defense is
not that's the you know. Last year was like they
kept winning one score games.
Speaker 5 (01:25:06):
Here you're losing one score games because your defense is
not doing it.
Speaker 3 (01:25:11):
Is that me? I apologize? So like for me, I'm
just kind of like, there's no way if the Chiefs win,
you're not winning by seven.
Speaker 5 (01:25:20):
There's no way. I'm taking the Chargers, of course, to cover.
Speaker 4 (01:25:25):
I actually am gonna take Kansas City.
Speaker 3 (01:25:27):
You're wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:25:28):
It feels look just what we saw out of Philly
last week, and it Charges took over time to beat them.
Like it. The Chargers had a great performance on Monday night,
but it also was indicative of like Philly just really
tried to investigate the game away. I don't know if
Kansas City does the same. I don't like it, but
(01:25:50):
I'm gonna take Kansas City. I don't like it.
Speaker 4 (01:25:52):
I'm with you almost all of it. It's just the.
Speaker 3 (01:25:55):
Gut of like I was because they're the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (01:25:58):
Well, no, it's not because it's the Chiefs, because they
don't got no tackles and Justin Herbert has a broken
left hand.
Speaker 4 (01:26:03):
And I know what I saw.
Speaker 5 (01:26:04):
Yeah, I see it like you saw recently.
Speaker 3 (01:26:07):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 4 (01:26:09):
All right?
Speaker 6 (01:26:09):
Next up, Buffalo Bills hitting the road, going to Foxboro
to take on the Patriots, same division. Patriots are ahead
in the division by a few games, though Bills are
a point and a half favorites here though on the road.
What do you think, Monty?
Speaker 3 (01:26:23):
I kind of said it earlier that if if there
was a wind streak that was going to be snapped,
I do think it's the Patriots. I do think the
Bills win this one in New England. I think they
have to write the ship. They kind of want to
make everybody put everyone on alert that their door, their
window isn't closed. I'm taking the Bills.
Speaker 2 (01:26:42):
I'm taking the Patriots diametrically opposed on the first two here,
Monty and I best case, so I'm taking the Patriots
because the Bill's only path to victory to me is
Josh Allen being a superhuman, like Josh Allen being superhuman
or James Cook now fumbling at the which doesn't seem
to happen that much more.
Speaker 4 (01:27:01):
He fumbles a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:27:03):
But if Josh Allen does to score seven touchdowns, do
the Bills win?
Speaker 4 (01:27:07):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:27:07):
Feels like survey says no in the game is only
a one and a half point favorite. I'm going with
coach Rabes to lock up that Josh Josh Allen led.
Speaker 4 (01:27:16):
Offense, all right.
Speaker 6 (01:27:20):
Next up, the Green Bay Packers are one and a
half point favorites over the Broncos. Broncos are the home
team here though, so interesting enough, but Martin, who you got?
Speaker 2 (01:27:29):
I'm going with the Broncos. I think both of the
ten wins, the ten game win streaks in the AFC
continue to eleven. I think that these are the two
of the best defenses in football. When you talk about
New England and Denver, I think Denver is the better one, right,
I know it. Houston's beginning a lot of love recently.
Denver's got a Defensive Player of the Year already. And
Nick Benito to me, is the top three pass rusher,
(01:27:52):
top four pass rusher in the league. He said, I
put it like he's top five, He's not fifth. I
expect him to be able to go in there and
affect joy and Love. And if the Broncos can run
the ball against the Packers, which I think they'll be
able to do, I like it. Plus Packers both running
backs on the injury report.
Speaker 3 (01:28:09):
I agree a lot with Martin. I'm gonna take the
Broncos to cover, and it's because I don't know if
Jordan Love is gonna handle this.
Speaker 2 (01:28:17):
Just like Moncey's having trouble handling her cough, She's wondering
if Jordan Love will cough it up.
Speaker 3 (01:28:22):
Fifty five sacks by the Broncos, It's not gonna be
easy for Jordan Love.
Speaker 4 (01:28:26):
I agree.
Speaker 6 (01:28:28):
Next up, Detroit Lions at Los Angeles Rams. This game
is at so far the Rams are favored by six
points at home. Moncey, what do you think, Oh Martin,
what do you think?
Speaker 2 (01:28:37):
Rams?
Speaker 4 (01:28:37):
Six points at home? Now?
Speaker 2 (01:28:40):
I will say this, the Rams may have more of
a home field advantage than they normally do with Detroit
Lions coming into town. But I went through the last
time the Lions played the Chargers. It's gonna be a
lot of Honolulu blue in there as we're sitting there
watching a game being played in so far, right now,
Washington and Boise State. I am going to go with
(01:29:01):
the Lions to cover the six at least. I also
think they have a really good shot of winning this
game outright, only because it's just how many times have
we seen the number one seed in the conference? How
many times have we seen on either conference this year?
Just below it. As soon as they get crowned, right
as soon as Matthew Stafford gets the interception streak snapped, boom, right,
(01:29:25):
let's tell some interceptions, right. I think the Rams will
be fine in the long term, but I do think
they dropped this game, or at least don't cover this game.
Speaker 3 (01:29:32):
You know, it's crazy. I feel like I could have
said the same exact thing. I think the Lions cover,
and I think there's a real chance that Detroit can
pull out this win. The Lions can score, we know that,
and we know the Rams can score, but the Lions
need the win. The Lions are playing. Their next three
games are division games, like they have to win this game.
I think the third place in their divisions if they're
(01:29:53):
trying to get in there, you have no other options.
This is the one and so six is two high
a number, and I agree, I think there's a chance
the trick can win. Give me the Lions, all right?
Speaker 6 (01:30:02):
Last one? How about the Monday night matchup. The Miami
Dolphins are going to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers.
The Steelers at home are favored by a field goal
three points.
Speaker 11 (01:30:10):
Monci, who you got?
Speaker 3 (01:30:13):
I don't like this one because I don't like either team.
I don't trust either team. So it's like, I feel
like logic goes out the window. The Dolphins, I think
I gave them five or six wins max for this season,
and they're already there. And then you have the Steelers,
who because the Ravens can't seem to do anything, the
Steelers are there like by default, by default. That's why
(01:30:35):
I don't like this one. And it's crazy, right the
Dolphins are not even eliminated yet from playoffs, which is
crazy to say.
Speaker 2 (01:30:43):
I thought the team was the worst eam of football
for like the first eight weeks of the year.
Speaker 11 (01:30:47):
Yeah, but.
Speaker 3 (01:30:51):
To a togo, My look, I cannot play in the weather.
Give me the Steelers to cover.
Speaker 2 (01:30:55):
You already said when he was asked about being cold.
You know, he was all, it's football, bro, we gotta
go play football. I'm not buying it. You're not buying
it one bit. I do think the Pittsburgh Steelers cover
this game. I think that they honestly win this game
by two scores. Like I don't know what's been happening
(01:31:16):
with the Dolphins. I respect it. After firing the GM,
you can see there's been a clear upturn.
Speaker 4 (01:31:23):
But like this to me is about the Steelers. You
gotta come out here.
Speaker 2 (01:31:27):
And beat teams like this at home, at home, like
you can't blow this one, especially in the position that
you're in with Baltimore nipping at your heels and there
are a disaster as well. So you think Steelers have
to win this.
Speaker 3 (01:31:39):
Division against the Dolphins, you have to win this game
at all, against.
Speaker 2 (01:31:42):
What I'm saying, you have to win this division. So
you have to win this game like you can't blow.
There's only a couple weeks left.
Speaker 11 (01:31:47):
Atomic Dog's time, all right.
Speaker 6 (01:31:50):
Every week at this time on Martin and Montse we
have each of you guys pick an underdog to win outright.
Last week, Martin, you picked the Jets over the Dolphins
that didn't hit. You picked the Bears over the Packers
that did not hit.
Speaker 2 (01:32:03):
Unfortantly is when I made that whole pick with the
concept that Tyrod Taylor was gonna get me the win
and sure enough to plays in damn near Aaron Rodgers style.
He's gone, and I gotta watch Brady Cook weren't even
good in college. I was like, I watched Brady Cook
suck at Missouri.
Speaker 3 (01:32:24):
All right, anyway, and he's about to start tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (01:32:27):
I know what you.
Speaker 3 (01:32:30):
Want to go first? Okay, I'll go first. The Bengals
are gonna beat the Ravens at home.
Speaker 5 (01:32:35):
God, you said to go first.
Speaker 3 (01:32:38):
I was gonna let you go first. Bengals. Bengals, we
know the defense has gotten better, but scoring is no problem.
The Ravens the last three four weeks, their officers looked atrocious.
I don't know if he can keep up with the
Bengals offense.
Speaker 5 (01:32:56):
I just don't you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:32:57):
And I know I think Lamar Jackson has never lost
in Cincinnati.
Speaker 4 (01:33:03):
Never lost.
Speaker 3 (01:33:03):
I don't think he's lost. He's he's going to experience
a lost tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:33:07):
Yeah, I expect Cincinnati to bet Baltimore as well. I
think that people have the wrong read on the Joe
Burrow thing. I think he's super motivated to come out
and ball right. Like I think he looks at like
he's not having fun because he messed up. Now, I
think that's buddy. Your shoulders are only so wide, you
can only do so much. You're only one man. But
(01:33:27):
but I do what you do. I expect them to
go out and get to win. So let's just do this.
Speaker 4 (01:33:35):
As a family.
Speaker 2 (01:33:35):
Here, as a family, because I'm rooting for two There's
two dogs I am rooting for in a way that
if they both win, Like if either one of them wins,
I will be doing backflips. I'm rooting number one for
the Cleveland Browns to beat the Chicago Bears. I think
good because I'm rooting for takes, and what we will
have on Monday is a take storm of Shador Sanders
(01:33:59):
better than Caleb Williams. Shador Sanders quarterback of the future.
Do the Bears trade Caleb, Like, it'll be five days
of madness if the Browns beat the Bears and Miles
Garrett that's the sack record, It'll be madness for five days.
But I think the one I'm rooting for the most,
the one that I am honestly, unabashedly hoping happens because
(01:34:21):
we see it happen every single year.
Speaker 4 (01:34:25):
It's like it'll be the end of the year.
Speaker 2 (01:34:26):
You're like, what in the world is this two win
team doing in this game?
Speaker 4 (01:34:31):
Are there three win team doing in this game?
Speaker 2 (01:34:33):
Give me the Raiders to go ahead and completely throw
Philadelphia into a tail spin. It'll be Hurricane Jalen and
Philly if the Raiders win this game. And that's what
I'm hoping for, because you know what, I'm in the
content business, and that's what I like. Rtr MONTCI Root
for Radio. Give me the Raider, Raider listen.
Speaker 5 (01:34:53):
I don't hate.
Speaker 3 (01:34:54):
Either of them.
Speaker 4 (01:34:55):
Canny Pickett, Revenge Games, I.
Speaker 3 (01:34:57):
Don't hate, right it is, Kenny Pickett, I don't hate
any of it, especially with how the Eagles have looked.
You're just kind of like, y'all, don't you. I don't
trust you at all. And when you're playing a team
that has nothing to lose except I guess what number
one pick if you're like last place or whatever.
Speaker 5 (01:35:14):
But I don't think the Raiders are playing with nothing.
Speaker 3 (01:35:18):
To lose, and that's a dangerous team to face when
you have kind of been going down. What you said
about Shador and Caleb, I think that conversation happens even
if the Bears win, but let's say Schador matches the
performance or it still happens. Like, let's say Bears win
by a field goal. Oh, that's happening.
Speaker 4 (01:35:36):
That's what I was walking out of work on Friday.
Speaker 2 (01:35:39):
Like, imagine when shaudors those for three twenty five and
three touchdowns and an interception of Caleb's.
Speaker 4 (01:35:45):
You know, twenty two and two touchdowns on a pick. Yeah,
it's going to be electric. It does give me the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
They have nothing to play for, just to be absolute
ruiners and they're gonna ruin the Philadelphia Eagles tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:35:59):
Oh that would be so fun.
Speaker 4 (01:36:02):
So that's where I'm going with that.
Speaker 2 (01:36:04):
So coming up next, a crazy story in college football,
The University of Michigan has a head coaching vacancy. We're
not going to necessarily get into all the TMZ of
it all, but a blue blood job.
Speaker 3 (01:36:17):
Is wide open.
Speaker 2 (01:36:19):
We'll talk about that coming up next. Martin Wise, Monsey
Blango's Fox Sports Radio comes to you live from the
Fox Sports Radio studios. You can follow us on Twitter
and tweet the show. I'm at Martin Wise, Monssey's at
I am Well answer your tweets coming up shortly, and
I'll tell you what, Monsiet' is a hell of a
day to be sitting at the update desk one, a
place that you and I.
Speaker 11 (01:36:38):
Are both very familiar with, familiar as you.
Speaker 2 (01:36:41):
Walk in and you find out the head coach of
your football team is fired. Ah.
Speaker 4 (01:36:45):
A couple of minutes later he's arrested. Yeah, and it's
like wait a minute.
Speaker 2 (01:36:49):
And then the stories just keep coming out, and as
you know, you're sitting there and you're on social media,
you're reading the stories that you know. Then like you know,
like Steve one two eight seven is tweeting some crazy
tweet and he's like, well, that's wild. And then I
felt like I just kept seeing that and it's like, well,
(01:37:09):
I'm not going to read that. I'm not going to
read that. And then I see like Dan wets will
say the same thing.
Speaker 4 (01:37:14):
It was like yeah, so.
Speaker 2 (01:37:17):
As your Michigan fan, and people on my phone was
going off like crazy, Yes, I said, I'll deal with
this when I get to work.
Speaker 3 (01:37:23):
I did text you sure enough, but to.
Speaker 2 (01:37:25):
The point to the point I was like, whatever the
emergency is, it will still be an emergency when I
get through it. It was but uh, you've never had
to day as bad as Sharon Moore did.
Speaker 3 (01:37:36):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:37:37):
No, But the longest short of it is because there's
still a lot of stuff coming out about that Michigan
does need to have.
Speaker 4 (01:37:43):
I had football coach. I'll tell you this. Before today,
I had said.
Speaker 2 (01:37:52):
I really thought, like I just thought Kenny Dillingham was
sharp in general. I thought you just had a good
handle on like and Arizona State is like a kind
of a job that nobody you don't really win that
much there, Like, it's not a lot of resources in
the grand scheme. I'll put it like this, You're not
getting nearly. It's like you're playing Oregon. You're not getting
(01:38:12):
the resources of Oregon has right, you know what I'm saying. Like,
so his ability and he seemed to have good eyes,
like in terms of scouting, got Sam Levitt to commit.
He's gonna transfer out of Arizona State, but got him there.
Saw Scataboo from Sacramento State, and that guy is an
NFL player obviously, but like saw him playing juco ball
and was like, I can get this guy. But I
tell you, man, every single clip of Kenny Dillingham in
(01:38:35):
the last twenty four hours, is like, I love Arizona
so much that I would literally kill someone before leaving,
and something like you know what I'm saying, He's like,
He's like, yeah, my mom's my neighbor, my sister lives
next door, my kid's best friend is her son, and
it's just like I love this place. As he's tearing
up about Arizona State.
Speaker 3 (01:38:58):
So is he overcompensating because something's to happen.
Speaker 4 (01:39:00):
No, I just think he's really into it.
Speaker 3 (01:39:02):
He's really into it.
Speaker 2 (01:39:03):
I just think a man that in love, you know,
he't going nowhere. He ain't going nowhere, so.
Speaker 3 (01:39:09):
Which is probably another reason he so liked. He checks
off all the boxes and here he is.
Speaker 2 (01:39:14):
Right, And to me, I'm thinking, man thirty five years old,
shign me up, dude, you can coach the next fifteen years.
If you know what I'm saying, Things go world relatively well.
So this has happened at the worst possible time if
you wanted to hire somebody who is not involved in
college football. But ultimately, like I really thought Kenny Dillingham was.
Speaker 3 (01:39:35):
My number one Okay, and that makes sense. I would
have liked that one, right, But he.
Speaker 2 (01:39:40):
Just seems to be out on it. Kaylen Duboor is
my number two. I think he would do well at
a Big ten program. Okay, here's the issue I have,
and I wish Aaron Thoris was in here because he was.
Speaker 4 (01:39:49):
I've talked to him about this.
Speaker 2 (01:39:51):
I've seen Caylen to the Ward lose so many big
games to Michigan.
Speaker 3 (01:39:54):
Yeah, right, so loud. Yeah. I was surprised to see
that connection, especially just because remember in September, not to
cut you off, that I went to Orlando and I
told you that this woman at the bar from who
was a fan of Alabama early on, like in the season,
and that they were like, we are getting our money
together and we are shipping Kalinda Moore out of here.
(01:40:15):
But Alabama didn't have a bad season. They did not
have a bad season, So how things have changed? I
was surprised to see his name connected with Michigan, to
be honest with you, Well.
Speaker 4 (01:40:27):
To that point, though, there's a ton of pressure.
Speaker 2 (01:40:29):
Alabama has got smoked in the SEC Championship game. That's
not something that they're really used to, and there's a
lot of pressure in that.
Speaker 4 (01:40:39):
He's the guy to replace the guy. Do you know
what I'm saying?
Speaker 2 (01:40:43):
Like he's replacing the Baske college football coach of all time.
And it's not a scenario where this guy got a
different Like Sheron Moore replaced Jim Harball and.
Speaker 4 (01:40:53):
He was an interim.
Speaker 2 (01:40:55):
Sure, but Harball took everybody he wanted to take with
him to Los Angeles, right, So Sharon Moore was who
was left. They expect one of us in the record, brother,
Like you know what I'm saying, Like that type of deal, right,
And so when Saban retires, he's just retiring.
Speaker 4 (01:41:14):
Everybody else is still on board.
Speaker 2 (01:41:16):
Everybody else is still on deck, everybody else still has jobs.
Speaker 3 (01:41:20):
Good point, right, yep.
Speaker 2 (01:41:21):
So like he's moving into an environment where Kellen de
Boor is moving into an environment where it's still very
much active, whereas you know, Michigan was kind of dead
at that point and is in a rough spot right now.
Do you have any early favorites to replace Charon Moore?
Speaker 3 (01:41:39):
I don't because I don't care for this team like
you do, right right. I just think that if I'm Michigan,
I probably want someone who is not a big name.
I feel like you want less attention right now, there's
so much attention on Michigan and this entire situation because
there's more stuff coming out that we don't know. You
(01:42:00):
know what I'm saying, There's gonna be more details to them.
Speaker 4 (01:42:02):
There will be more people losing their jobs, that's for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:42:04):
Right So it is a it looks like a right
now early on, like a messy situation to step into.
And if you bring someone that already has a name,
then the pressure for Michigan.
Speaker 5 (01:42:16):
Is immediately going to be put back on top.
Speaker 3 (01:42:19):
You get somebody I'm not saying like a nobody, but
somebody that maybe is not you know, on the radar,
that is who I feel like Michigan should go for
because then maybe the pressure, the attention won't be as
bad because that's kind of what you what Michigan needs.
Speaker 2 (01:42:34):
Right now, There's gonna be a lot of there's gonna
be a lot of attention, and honestly, not to be elitist,
but it's Michigan football. It's like the Dallas Coupboys. People
are going to pay attention to. But I get your
I get your overarching point. Find the next Kurt Signette
the guy.
Speaker 3 (01:42:48):
And I know that that's not an ideal, but I
just the situation in Michigan is not is not ideal.
It is messy.
Speaker 2 (01:42:56):
It is messy, but ultimately, at the end of the day,
like in the world of college football where money is king, sure, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:43:04):
Michigan be fine. Yeah, Michigan has a lot of money.
For sure, they'll be able to figure it out.
Speaker 2 (01:43:09):
And like like people worried about like transfer portal stuff
like that, Like sure, potentially, like there could be a
mass exodus.
Speaker 4 (01:43:18):
Maybe I'm just being naive, but like who else paying
you the money?
Speaker 2 (01:43:24):
Like you know what I'm saying, There's only a handful
of places that's gonna pay you that, of course, and then.
Speaker 4 (01:43:28):
You can also still play.
Speaker 2 (01:43:29):
But I mean, you see guys doing it all the time,
like fran Brown said he coach Syracuse was just swapping
a lot of tunes, a lot of backups going here,
backups going there, backups going there.
Speaker 4 (01:43:37):
This guy's never a backup, Steve.
Speaker 3 (01:43:39):
The Sega never and the music hits right on the beat.
Speaker 9 (01:43:43):
There work. By the way, the University of Michigan did
reportedly commission an investigation into its own athletic department after
the numerous scandals in recent years. There is a college football.
Speaker 2 (01:43:54):
Game going on right now.
Speaker 9 (01:43:55):
The LA Bowl was tied three to three after the
first quarter. It's now washing in thirty one to three
over Boise State about four minutes to go in the
third quarter. It is reportedly the final LA Bowl six
year contract is up. Washington started this year five and one,
then went three to three the rest of the season,
now dominating this game. Tonight, Navy defeated Army seventeen to
(01:44:16):
sixteen on a late touchdown pass. Navy will play January
second in the Liberty Bowl against Cincinnati. The College Football
Playoff starts next Friday with Alabama at Oklahoma. The Heisman
Trophy was won tonight by Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, finishing
second Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia. Mendozia had about six hundred
(01:44:38):
and fifty first place votes to about two hundred four
Pavia finishing third. Running back from Notre Dame Jeremiah Love.
By the way, Ohio state with three top ten finishers,
seventh time in the last eight years there's been at
least two players from the same team in the Heisman
Top ten. The Colts activated quarterback Philip Rivers. The NBA
Cup semi final game is at halftime with number one
(01:45:00):
Oklahoma City, winners of sixteen straight, leading forty nine forty
six over San Antonio. Shay Gilgis Alexander twelve points in
the first half. Spur Center Victor women Yama has returned
playing off the bench after missing a month with a
strained calf. In the first half, in seven minutes, he
had five points, five rebounds, three turnovers. Earlier, New York
(01:45:21):
eliminated Orlando one thirty two to one twenty Jalen Brunson
forty points as the nick shot sixty one percent from
the floor. The Calves Evan Mobley is due to miss
two to four weeks with a strained calf. In college basketball,
number two Michigan still undefeated, coming back to win at
Maryland one oh one eighty three. Michigan was down five
(01:45:41):
at the half. Two big games this evening halftime. Number
one Arizona is down two to twelfth ranked Alabama in Birmingham,
Bama of forty one thirty nine and we're an hour
away from the game in Seattle. Number eight Gonzaga against
number twenty five UCLA. In women's college hoops, Number one
Connecticut dominated at USC seventy nine fifty one NHL wins
(01:46:03):
for Minnesota and New Jersey thirteen total games in the NAHL.
Panthers are leading three to nothing at Dallas with nine
minutes to go. The Saint Louis Cardinals are signing right
handed pitcher Dustin Mayex of the Dodgers in Red Sox.
The Mets are signing infielder Jorge Polonco. The Tigers reportedly
agreed to a deal with veteran closer ken Lee Jansen.
Speaker 4 (01:46:23):

(01:46:49):
you are going to download?
Speaker 4 (01:46:50):
It should be this one.
Speaker 2 (01:46:52):
It should be this one. Be gentle on the review.
She's definitely playing hurt. You know we should have done
Maybe we should have brought in a positivity rabbit in
here to help you feel better.
Speaker 3 (01:47:04):
Was it going to have a medicine? Ball in it.
Maybe that's what I need. A positivity rabbit.
Speaker 2 (01:47:10):
So Jason Kelsey, former Eagle now civilian podcaster like and
talked about He talked about the positivity rabbit.
Speaker 4 (01:47:18):
Even though he's not in the locker on the day to.
Speaker 2 (01:47:20):
Day basis, it's still obviously a big point of contention,
and you know, you never had a shortage of hearing
what an athlete's opinion is.
Speaker 13 (01:47:27):
It's a lot of negativity in Philadelphia and before the
game for an eight and four team that's first in
their division and certainly looking like they're going to be
in the playoffs. I think the team was trying to
make a statement like, hey, we're we're all in on
this together. We feel like we're still the real deal.
Speaker 4 (01:47:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (01:47:44):
If I'm being honest, I don't really like the rabbit.
I think it's kind of like it's a little hokey.
You got to go back it up. I think they
tried it, it didn't work. You got to ditch the rabbit.
I mean, the whole thing's gotta go.
Speaker 4 (01:47:55):
That's my I.
Speaker 13 (01:47:56):
Honestly, if I'm being very brutally honest, I thought it
was a surprise to see that because I'm like it's
a sign of just like too much like joking around
or something that I think is like, actually, like you
should be really pissed off with the way you're playing.
Speaker 4 (01:48:09):
It's okay to be.
Speaker 13 (01:48:10):
Positive, but like this is something you do when everything's
rolling and you're freaking performing.
Speaker 2 (01:48:15):
The funniest thing about this clip, honestly is Travis Kelcey.
Speaker 4 (01:48:20):
I don't know if you saw. I actually saw.
Speaker 2 (01:48:22):
This watching Travis Kelce's face as Jason Kelcey is talking
about the negativity in Philadelphia and how they're not playing
well as the Chiefs are over there six, He's just like.
Speaker 3 (01:48:34):
Dropping past his left right.
Speaker 4 (01:48:36):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't like it.
Speaker 2 (01:48:38):
You Yeah. But ultimately to the Eagles point of this,
it starts out there's like like they're all on board.
I knew they were not all on board because I
watched sa Kwon Barkley say I wish this rabbit was
not in front of my locker.
Speaker 4 (01:48:54):
It's too big and it's in the way.
Speaker 2 (01:48:57):
Remember a couple of weeks ago, I said, the vibes
for the Eagles and the vibes of the Cowboys are
completely flipped.
Speaker 4 (01:49:03):
Yes, they still are.
Speaker 5 (01:49:04):
They still are.
Speaker 3 (01:49:05):
That rabbit was when I saw the picture of the rabbit,
I was like, I wish it would have looked It
just looked so stupid, Like I wish you would have
gotten a cool rabbit. Give me like a rabbit that
I would see at like five nights at Freddy's, you know,
like a chucky cheese, like maybe maybe a scary rabbit
to insert some something you know in this locker room,
(01:49:26):
but a positivity. No, that's not the problem here.
Speaker 2 (01:49:30):
My thing I thought was funny is yeah, that's the
wrong holiday.
Speaker 3 (01:49:33):
It's the rabbit. It was an easter one.
Speaker 4 (01:49:35):
Yes, it's like that heavy easter on it.
Speaker 2 (01:49:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:49:37):
And the thing was huge, yes, yes massive.
Speaker 2 (01:49:42):
Yeah, it was in front of that laundry basket and
it's like three times the size of it. But this
is what like, this is why when you set up
and say things like the Eagles may not have it
all together right, you know the off season earlier this year,
if some things feel weird and Philly, well exhibit A.
Speaker 3 (01:50:06):
You know what they should have done. What would have
I guarantee you would have livened up the locker room,
put people in a good mood.
Speaker 4 (01:50:16):
Throwing the ball to a J. Brett, No puppies, puppies.
Speaker 3 (01:50:20):
So you're just talking about dogs. I bet you if
you would have brought puppies to the locker room, you
want everyone to feel a little bit better, Tell me,
tell and I know we're just we were Martin and
I were just talking about dogs off air, Ian Roddy,
you gots what is a here?
Speaker 1 (01:50:32):
Tell me?
Speaker 5 (01:50:33):
Puppies would not have made that locker room feel better.
Speaker 6 (01:50:35):
I agree that puppies are way better than a positivity rabbit,
but I would just say that, like the point is,
you're you're winning right now, like this isn't a time.
And that's what Jason Kelsey was saying, like this isn't
but you're no, they're not winning. That's that's kind of
like you're not winning right now. So that's what I
meant to say, is you're not winning right now. This
isn't the time, This isn't right.
Speaker 3 (01:50:53):
Do this correct?
Speaker 6 (01:50:54):
Correct if you like, If you're winning, you can bask
in the vibes and be like, yeah, let's bring in puppies,
Let's bring in a positivity bunny.
Speaker 11 (01:51:00):
Enjoy all this.
Speaker 6 (01:51:01):
But when the locker room is turning on each other
and a g Brown and Jalen Hurst can't get along
and you're bringing a rabbit.
Speaker 11 (01:51:06):
It's just from Easter tone duff.
Speaker 4 (01:51:08):
Well, it's I get I agree with all of that.
Speaker 2 (01:51:13):
The bigger thing to me is it's it is the
idea that this ever existed, shows you, like they didn't
call it like the joker rabbit or the funny rabbit
or the are you know saying the play hard rabbit.
It's the positivity rabbit because there's a lot of negativity. Right,
(01:51:34):
there's a lot of people arguing and fighting and and
not necessarily on the same page. And if I have
to hear one more bought and paid for NFL insider,
tell me how Nick Sirianni is great at managing a
locker room, I'm gonna explode. They had to, like.
Speaker 5 (01:51:50):
They all clearly he's not.
Speaker 3 (01:51:53):
I don't understand what else you need to see?
Speaker 2 (01:51:55):
The evidence is the evidence is there that this is
something he.
Speaker 3 (01:51:59):
Struggles with, right, like calling me stupid?
Speaker 2 (01:52:01):
And I don't right exactly exactly what exactly you're either
was it trust your eyes or believe your ears?
Speaker 4 (01:52:08):
You know what I'm saying. It's like what am I seeing?
Speaker 2 (01:52:10):
Yeah, I don't buy it, and I think it all
it all comes back to me, if Joe Shane never
traded Saquon or never let Saquon Barkley go, where is
this Eagles.
Speaker 3 (01:52:22):
Team not here?
Speaker 4 (01:52:24):
Do you know what?
Speaker 3 (01:52:24):
I'm not the team we're seeing today?
Speaker 2 (01:52:26):
Like, where is that Eagles team if they if they
have to run last year out again without Saquon having
a historic MVP level season, where is his Eagles team?
When I get it, it's like, well, you know, yeah,
if you take Peyton Manning off the Colts, guess what,
they probably stink too.
Speaker 5 (01:52:46):
But right, but I get what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (01:52:49):
This This one hits a little bit differently than you
could make this example out of anything.
Speaker 5 (01:52:53):
But the truth is, like you're right.
Speaker 3 (01:52:54):
If Sequon wasn't there, this Eagles team does not have
a lot of other support. They don't have like a base,
you know what. Like it's almost like would you say
they had an identity last year?
Speaker 4 (01:53:06):
Yeah, it all works because they could run the ball.
Speaker 5 (01:53:10):
So this year it's like where are we?
Speaker 2 (01:53:12):
That's my thing? They were Sai Kwan was running for
freaking twelve yards of carry. It felt like, you know
what I'm saying, Like he's running like a college player
just against so much better than everybody. Else, and he's
had some bad luck. Some of the advanced metrics show
he's had some bad luck. He had some good luck
last year. It's the way the game goes. But the
thing was they were so worried about the run. It
(01:53:32):
forced everybody to play Shingle High safety was from forced
everybody else to play man. The man was then forced
AJ Brown all those guys to be open. Right, So
it's all boom boom boom bom boom bom boom bom boom. Well,
if you can't get through step one, you never get
to step six.
Speaker 4 (01:53:44):
And A. J.
Speaker 2 (01:53:45):
Brown's point is, why do we have to go from
one to two to three to four to five to six.
Speaker 4 (01:53:49):
Why can't we just throw the ball right?
Speaker 2 (01:53:51):
You know what I'm saying. And he played terribly in
my estimation in that Monday night.
Speaker 3 (01:53:56):
Game, not the one where he didn't even go for
one of them.
Speaker 2 (01:54:00):
Also, to look around at the rest of the Philly offense,
you know what I'm saying. If you've had the time,
go check out a YouTube video to see these people
who break down the film.
Speaker 4 (01:54:08):
Everybody's lost, everybody's out, everybody's chilling.
Speaker 2 (01:54:11):
Everybody is like because if it's not going to the
first guy.
Speaker 4 (01:54:15):
It's not going anywhere. It's kind of just the way,
you know, it's just kind of just the way that
it goes. You know, I don't love it.
Speaker 3 (01:54:23):
I'm going to get you a positivity rabbit.
Speaker 4 (01:54:25):
You know, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:54:28):
I think Kenny dealing him. That's why I don't a
freaking positivity rabbit.
Speaker 5 (01:54:33):
You're asking for a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:54:34):
He doesn't want to leave it.
Speaker 4 (01:54:35):
I know, I know you would have thought that Arizona
is just the best. I mean, it's hot down there.
Speaker 2 (01:54:41):
Kenny gets hot.
Speaker 11 (01:54:43):
It get hot.
Speaker 2 (01:54:44):
You know. I remember hell earlier this year he was
complaining a petition at the student body to see if
anybody could kick. I'll tell you, Kenny.
Speaker 4 (01:54:53):
Will get your kicker.
Speaker 2 (01:54:54):
We'll get your kicker.
Speaker 4 (01:54:55):
We do that. You want to kicker? What else you want?
Speaker 2 (01:54:59):
We get your kicker? You know what? You know what,
there's one name that I don't think anybody has really
publicly said that for this Michigan job. I am telling
you right here, right now, if it happens, I'm gonna
lose my mind. And I'm telling you all everybody else
is gonna say, oh, what a great hire. And then
(01:55:21):
it's three weeks and be like, well that didn't work out,
like like Bill Belichick style, right, like a bunch of
people really in on it, and then you realize in
the third drive, Oh, I think we've made a terrible mistake.
Speaker 4 (01:55:33):
I'll tell you who that is coming up next?
Speaker 3 (01:55:35):
Nice?
Speaker 2 (01:55:38):
Oh waited, hold on a dog on second, moncos I'm
gonna fix my eyes.
Speaker 5 (01:55:46):
You really do.
Speaker 2 (01:55:48):
But I believe if I could see through that bright
red orange haze, the Oklahoma City Thunder are wearing.
Speaker 3 (01:55:55):
They're trailing, they aling, they're losing in the game.
Speaker 2 (01:56:00):
Are seven minutes seven is left in the third quarter? Yeah,
sixty two to fifty eight. Shay with fourteen?
Speaker 3 (01:56:08):
You know who also has fourteen? D'aron Fox. Oh so
d'aron Fox. Uh, Victor won Manyama off the bench. He's
got five points. He's also has five rebounds.
Speaker 2 (01:56:20):
I always like to think about stuff like when that happens,
Like you, how many times in his life do you
think he's come off the bench Victor?
Speaker 4 (01:56:29):
Today's one?
Speaker 3 (01:56:30):
Yeah? Two one?
Speaker 4 (01:56:34):
Like, how many other times do you think he had
to like not do that?
Speaker 8 (01:56:37):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:56:37):
Way? Two?
Speaker 5 (01:56:39):
Two's under five.
Speaker 2 (01:56:41):
So one of the dark horse names that I think
that people haven't reported on yet, because it's hard to
imagine for the University of Michigan head coaching job with
the way the Raven season is going. I would not
be shocked if John Harbaugh is available with then this
thing okay, And I'm here to tell you now, if
John Harball is the coach of Michigan football, I will
(01:57:04):
be sick, not happy one bit about it. He may
be like, and I think a lot of people would sell,
oh man, you saw what he did here, you saw
what he did there, very much the same way a
lot of people were selling Bill Belichick was going to
turn it around at North Carolina, or that Deon Sanders
would turn Colorado into a perennial power. You know, I
(01:57:27):
think you'll hear something similar to that. I don't think
it would happen. I don't want him anywhere near my
football program.
Speaker 3 (01:57:33):
No, that sounds like a bad idea, and you would
just be getting it. Why for like a story of
one Harball to the next.
Speaker 4 (01:57:41):
One Harball to another.
Speaker 2 (01:57:43):
That's kind of the thought process for me is your
transper portal is quickly approaching. Obviously, But like a lot
of these guys, they either signed new contracts or re
upped on the deal that they were on, a lot
of these guys like Matt Campbell would have been a
reasonable candidate Michigan. He took Penny Steak like Lane kiffn
(01:58:03):
was never real for Michigan. But like honestly the some
raw guy John Sumraw, Oh yeah, it seems like it
could have been now to your point, a program build
or something like that, like a new signetti. Not necessarily
a guy that has already pelts on the wall. But
I'm just wondering, like.
Speaker 4 (01:58:20):
Who is it?
Speaker 3 (01:58:21):
Yeah, and I think that's what that's the hard question
for Michigan and your team right now, because, like I said,
if you get Harbaugh, whoa the storylines, like the attention,
it's gonna be so high you want to get. I
feel like someone who who maybe is not going to
bring that much attention. But you're right, it is Michigan.
The attention is going to be there no matter what.
Speaker 4 (01:58:42):
You know, you know what, it's high. It's you called
Connors Stallions.
Speaker 2 (01:58:46):
Stop see what he's up to? Why not?
Speaker 4 (01:58:49):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (01:58:50):
Why not? You joined the program in twenty twenty teams
better than I've ever been. Yeah, you know, yeah, undefeated
as chips.
Speaker 3 (01:58:56):
Hey, Hey, how what's it. How long is he punished
for don't even know.
Speaker 2 (01:59:01):
I don't even know this show, but uh, you know
he was coaching offense at oh god, Belleville High School,
which is I believe which is where Bryce went to.
Speaker 3 (01:59:14):
Oh okay, yeah, yeah. I think Michigan has to decide soon. Unfortunately,
like you said, it's just like the the timetable for
college football and the transfer portal.
Speaker 5 (01:59:25):
And all that, it's not in your favor.
Speaker 4 (01:59:28):
Well, also the other thing is not in a favor.
Speaker 2 (01:59:30):
I think the gm GM the AD is about to
get fired or likely should. So there's a lot of
hiring that needs to get done at Michigan before the
head coach. And they got to get that right because
being the athletic director at Michigan obviously it's a big
deal being athletic or anywhere, but like, this is Michigan,
for God's sake.
Speaker 4 (01:59:50):
Hi, Brady hook was, you're supposed to win championship. You're
supposed to win championships. Does Indiana get it done?
Speaker 3 (01:59:55):
Who? Indiana?
Speaker 2 (01:59:56):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (01:59:57):
Oh
