Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio. That's right. We're coming
to you live on a Fox Sports Football Saturday, and
I'll tell you what. I'll be honest. What's not? Oh
my goodness. As I'm trying to watch this SEC Network
game on my phone, it goes off.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Can we get this all figured out?
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Can we just put phone do not? No?
Speaker 4 (00:22):
No.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
The only reason I'm trying to watch the game on
my phone is because I can't get the game on
the ding on TV. Because everybody's got to go to
this website to save he is no. Put the game
up there with the dog on thing on TV. You
gotta look like an idiot to start my radio show
because Auburn is in an overtime game and I'm mind you,
I'm four seconds behind our five, four minutes behind because
(00:44):
I'm streaming it on my phone. But I can't just
turn it on channel six to eleven because you put
it on the TV and it doesn't show up. I'm
sticking on Monci and you've been telling me just now
how you can't watch anything either. The technical difficulties are ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
That's how Martin's doing it. That's how he can do it.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
I I'm having issues at home with Wifis all week.
You know, I was just telling him. I was like
all every night when I went to bed this week,
I was like, well, I guess I'm watching a different
scary movie.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
I guess I'm gonna read a book.
Speaker 5 (01:12):
Like I've had no, no, nothing since Monday night football.
I got to watch that.
Speaker 6 (01:18):
What's the best scary movie you watched this week?
Speaker 5 (01:20):
I'm a big so I watched it. We watched The Conjuring,
The Conjuring. We watched Annabel Creation. I really like Annabel Creation.
The it came out second, but it's before. It's so good,
like the first Annabelt.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
I wasn't a huge fan. Annabel Creation. H oh, so
good they.
Speaker 5 (01:40):
I mean, I love Conjuring, but Annabel Creation is so good.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
That's the one. I was like, Oh, I forgot this happened.
I forgot this happened. I was all into it. So
that's what that's what I've been doing because I can't
watch TV. Martin.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
I'm glad you're I'm glad you've been able to find
enjoying this. I have not. I have not. I'm miserable.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Soup checked like and you know my eyes are going bad.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
I'm getting out, I get older, I don't have glasses,
but my eyes are going bad. I feel like once
it's like a dmitting defeat. I'm not ready to go
there yet.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
Is that why baseball players won't fix their eyesight and
then until they do, because that's amitting defeat.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
It was also too it's like a built in excuse,
like I can't see wha hit over two seventy five,
but like, like it's hard for me to see the
score on my phone. It really is, especially because I'm
doing stuff and I set something off on my phone,
where now it's like you're holding your phone too close
to your face. You're gonna go blind if you don't
move it back, and it'll literally grate my screen out
(02:35):
until I move it back. So then it's like, oh,
would you like to see what the count is?
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Good luck?
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Pal?
Speaker 2 (02:40):
He's listening to Joe David.
Speaker 5 (02:42):
Turn the volume up and it gets all pixelated and
you're like, I can't even see what's happening.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
I see movement, but it's like can the picture be clearer?
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Like it's overtime Vanderbilt on the Vanderbilt and uh Auburn,
I can't. I'm watching the game on my phone, can't
pull it up anywhere else. I can't see what down
it is. It's overtime.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
No, it's over.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
It's over now. Yeah, it's true. I thought, you know,
we're going to see it.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
It's over. Annoying, it is annoying.
Speaker 5 (03:12):
It is annoying.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
So I don't know if anybody else had technical difficulty
earlier today, but kirtching Netty was a little annoyed with
the pregame from Jenny Taff.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Jenny Taff doing her job, and that's from Kirchen.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
Jenny Taff would tell you, like, you.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Know, it's not her fault that she's asking these questions.
You don't say it's not her fault.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
You know, But I'm just I am what they call
locked in.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Let's hear what kirtching Neetty had to say prior to
the game today at Penn State.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
And will coach Indiana has never won year at Beaver Stadium.
How does that change today?
Speaker 6 (03:44):
This team's never played here, this team.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Has never played here, and this team is special. But
you said your antenna is up when it comes to
Penn State. What concerns you?
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Nothing?
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Concerns time to be concerns over.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
It's time to attack.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
And play now.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
If that's what he saying to the sideline reporters, what
do you think The conversation prior to that in the
locker room was like fired up?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
He was fired up.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
She handled that really well. She was like, we're rolling
with the bunches here, all right, coach, what else are
we doing?
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Because I get her question. Of course, as a program,
Indiana has never been successful here.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
He said, I don't care. I've never coached here.
Speaker 5 (04:22):
Before, this team has never played before. All right, so
history doesn't matter to you. Got it moving on?
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Understood, got it checked.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
And I liked just like, oh, the time for nerves
was that was yesterday. It's time to go now. And
sure enough in the fourth quarter, money on the floor.
I have a feeling we might hear something a little
bit more about this at like ten twenty ish Eastern
Standard time around the Saturday stand.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
We absolutely will, right absolutely.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Fernando Mendoza. He broke Gus Johnson. He broke Gus Johnson.
He broke the man. The man's call again for thirty
he broke him. Listening to this.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Joke so good, it's so good.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
My favorite part is the yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Why he couldn't even get it out.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
He's trying his best. Done classes next to him, like
patting him on the back, like finished the touchdown call,
get the heisman, told.
Speaker 5 (05:32):
Him now, it was a crazy moment and for a
second you weren't sure if he caught the ball. And
the few moments before that, the attempts at getting that
touchdown and it didn't. It was like they had they
had taking the momentum away from Indiana in that moment,
and you thought, you know what I'm saying, you were
they had to exactly like they had taken the momentum away,
and you were a little bit nervous.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
That throw was not a great throw. It wasn't It
was high. And what was Omari Cooper?
Speaker 1 (06:02):
Gary?
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Gary?
Speaker 2 (06:03):
That's not right, that Omar Cooper Cooper?
Speaker 6 (06:07):
The hell is Gary Cooper?
Speaker 1 (06:08):
I was going to Gary Cooper's from what happened that
on the Gary Cooper types, That Gary Cooper, that's Gary.
Speaker 6 (06:14):
I think it's Anderson Cooper.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
No, Gary Cooper is the guy Tony Soprano sitting in
a doctor Melphie's office, Like, what do you mean? I
have feelings? What happened on the Gary Cooper types, that's
where Gary Cooper's from.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
There we go, So back to.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
This was Omar Cooper Cooper Junior.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
I believe Junior. I believe he respect that catch, the
body control on his way down. You said it right
now that you would have broken yourself.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Yeah, I said, that's today's edition of You know, I
normally say professional athletes, but today's edition of high level
athletes are nothing like us.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Or nothing like us. And that was an incredible catch.
Give it up. Also to the ref, did you see
that he.
Speaker 5 (07:01):
Was like watching his feet, he was focusing, He got
out of the locked in, got out of the way,
focused in and called it right immediately because that's how
close he was watching that.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
Yeah, it was great.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
It was great.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
That drive to me by Mendoza was really impressive. They
had no timeouts and the first play of the drive
was a sack and you may remember the player too,
prior to the touchdown pass was a quarterback hit in
which I was like, again, if somebody hit me like that,
(07:34):
I'm never getting up. Do you know what I'm saying,
I'm never getting up. And he gets up.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
And then the thing that I found fascinating.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
The play before the Penn stated they were substituting right,
they called the play too fast, they're able to get
the playoff perfect.
Speaker 5 (07:48):
Strike perfect, yes, yes, perfect open, And then that didn't
go down and it didn't.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
End up happening obviously, maybe it was white up because
they were substituting the very ex play.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
You know, he throws the ball swatted, I think right,
he gets the ball, gets swatted on the very next one.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
And then up the top and then up to top,
up top over to Cooper where he's only his guy
can get it, and then.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
One of the legitimately better catches. You will see.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
I don't want even to say just this season.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Yeah, no, because the extension it took, and like I'm
convinced he touched his outside foot down on purpose, the
one that was further in down down on purpose before
he got his other one down.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Like it was fashioning.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
It was unreal. When you watched it, You're like, how
did you do that? The body control?
Speaker 5 (08:41):
The body control was insane, no question about it either.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
It wasn't like, oh did he catch it? Was no
clear as day.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Fernando Mendoza made a lot of money on that drive.
He made a lot of money on that drive. Seriously, seriously,
that's a drive that is gonna be on when and
when it it when it comes next couple, whenever he's eligible.
We're looking at he's in Indianapolis wearing pajama pants, running
the forty and doing push ups, and Ben's Preston and
(09:10):
all that.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
They will show highlights from that drive in.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
That moment, like if he ends up, if they continue
on his pathway and Fernando Mendez is sitting in New York,
they'll show this drive and be like Chris Fallon will
be like, you know, it'll be an hour and forty
five minutes for the heisman is given out, and there'll
be two hours into the broadcast, but he'll be like,
Fernando Mendoza watch this against Panna State, you know. And
the thing about Pace, I get it. No, this is
(09:35):
his final thing on this because we've seen this a
bit today, you know. And have you ever heard of
the dead cat bounce pie?
Speaker 3 (09:42):
I don't think I have.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
So it's just like a stock market term.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
It's like when the stock hits the bottom and it'll
come back up for a little bit and then go
right back down to the bottom.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
There's something similar in coaching.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Yeah, there's like the fired coach bounce or something like that, right,
Like it was a fired coach bounce and up Penn
State didn't exactly fire Jays Franklin like yesterday. I get it,
but like the fact that the matter is this team
walked into the season ranked number two in the nation.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
They have when again go to combine time, mm.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
Hmm, there will be probably what for every one Indiana
player just drafted from today, there will be three Penn
State players.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Yeah, Like that's where the dudes are.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
Right, It's it's still the team that was ranked coming
into the season as being a really strong team.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
They've underperformed obviously.
Speaker 5 (10:32):
But do you think this was Indiana thinking that it
was going to be an easier game so they took
their foot off the gas because we've seen Indiana want
to crush teams, right, you think they just kind of.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Came in, came in thinking like it's probably gonna be
easier than we thought.
Speaker 5 (10:45):
And Penn State, because as you just pointed out, the
roster didn't change, the roster is the same.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
I think this was a moment of let's go out
and try like a Penn State, let's go.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Out and improve and improved that we have.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
Something here right like, because again remember the whole rub
with James Franklin. He never wins big games. He never
beats top five opponents. He never So it's like, we
have an opportunity to come out and change the narrative.
Coach James Franklin. It could have been all its fault.
Maybe it's in the water and Happy Valley shame. Maybe
(11:20):
you're right, because now it's messed up now because like
I saw it today, I forget Penn State's enter.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
I think it's like Terry Smith or something like that.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
But uh, you had what used to be the James
Franklin record of two and whatever the obscene number is
of losses. It popped up in the graphic and said
Penn State, Now to do you know what I mean?
That went? So that went from James Franklin's records. They
don't put that up on his lower third, but he's
on TV. They just stay head coach of Penn State
(11:50):
for the last, you know, eight or so years. I
will say to me, a relatively underwhelming slate in college football.
We'll get into some more college football talk coming up
in a bit.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
Some of the I want to dive into this idea
of this.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
You know, teams that are like we see this all
the time in the NFL, teams that are terrible three
and six and three and six playing each other in
Week ten. Both of these teams are done, but we
still got to play this out right, and you see
all types of crazy things happen in these games. And
it's like, I feel like, for more now, more than ever,
(12:24):
in college football, we're seeing something similar to that when
you see the all these fired coaches and these teams
that are just like, like, what is Auburn doing in
overtime with Vanderbilt and Anderbilds trying to make the playoffs,
Like Auburn has lost five.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Games, they're trying to mess it up. They're trying to
mess uf up for other people.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
Wisconsin today, Yeah, the head coach is going to stay
Luke Fickle.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
They won their first Big ten game today. They're one
and five.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Look at them, right, congratulating spoiler for somebody.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
That Washington is looking like, you gotta be kidding me.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Coming up next the Tom Brady Bowl, who left the
bigger legacy one will come down to.
Speaker 7 (13:07):
You know.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
It's interesting though, Yeah, both of these teams, Patriots and
Buccaneers found their quarterback posts. Brady and I think both
of these teams show really great about the guy they
have calling the shot to quarterback. But who's gonna win tomorrow?
Let's get into them, May, What do you say?
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Let's do it all right, we'll do that next Martin
and Mont see Fox Sports Radio.

Your line on the Fox Sports Radio studios if you

My coast here is at Monci Bolangos. Uh, just mention quickly.
This song was, Oh goodness, Missy Elliot, what's the name
of the actual song? I know what the elephant ad
lib is? Insane like the elephant noise like that, whatever
(15:01):
that's crazy it is. That was such an early like
late nineties, early two thousands thing.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
That was such a great song that just it doesn't
happen anymore.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
And I just wanted to take a second to high
like that. Yeah, if you decided at one point to
like work that in as a drop on the show,
wouldn't be upset about it.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Missy Elliott, she was great.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
She was I wonder what that little girl is doing,
Allison Stoner.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
I think a girl's name.
Speaker 6 (15:26):
Yeah, she was in camp rock.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
She she went and did it. Yeah, she went and
on to do things. Yes, now she's a professional dancer
and a choreographer. What's her name again?
Speaker 6 (15:34):
Out Allisonstone. Good for her, thousand Stoner, good for her.
Speaker 5 (15:38):
There it is Allison Stone. Yep, there she is. She
currently is met. I mean, I'm born in nineteen ninety three.
Do quick math they're thirty.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
Thirty three three two.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
Yeah, August August maybe thirty three.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Good for her, Good for her child, Starr, hope she's
on the straight and narrow. She was killing it videos again,
things from the early two thousands that no longer is
his music videos music video in the same way that
they used to.
Speaker 5 (16:07):
I would just have MTV on like twenty four to seven,
Yeah TV, James, Yes, and you. I would be getting
ready and it was like hit me baby one more time,
you know, music video.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
It was great and.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
So like that was like the same era right that
Tom Brady was starting to take over with the Patriots,
you know what I mean, Like right around the same
time Britney Spears topping the charge, tom Brady topping the NFL,
and then he goes to uh Tampa afterwards and you
know gets his ring there as well. And I saw
somewhere this week that Tom wasn't going to pick a
(16:38):
side over who. I think everyone in Tampa should understand
if you were going to go ahead and say I
got six to one place. But anyway, both of these
teams feel like they have found the air apparent to
Tom and one Drake may and then another Baker Mayfield.
(16:59):
Now Buccaneers, I mean, Pat's obviously had Drake may last year,
but now they feel like they got their coach as well.
And Mike Rabel very much like a year two reset
for everybody, and everybody is just unamored with Drake May.
He's getting all the second grade class Valentines right now.
Drake May's that he all of them. Do you like
(17:21):
in terms of this game coming up tomorrow, who do
you expect to play better between the two, you know,
the two quarterbacks that we have here, and then long term,
do you think is at a better position.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
This one's tough because it's impossible to I don't like
to bring up injuries, but it's impossible to ignore the
injuries on the offensive side for Tampa Bay, right like
that is why Baker Mayfield has looked so incredible is
because he's throwing two players that you did not know
who they were prior to the game starting, and he's
kept them afloat.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
The Buccaneers were good last year.
Speaker 5 (17:55):
They have a good defense, they're strong, they have a
young rookie gray wide receiver that looks like he's gonna
be big in a Mica Buca. And then you have
the Patriots. Marn and I can't I can't figure out
what the Patriots are.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Are they a really actual.
Speaker 5 (18:12):
Good team or are they a team that has talent
at the quarterback but actually have a really good coach.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
They up, they they made improvements, you know, on their
offensive line, their defense, they did all of that, but
they also did lose to the Raiders. They did lose
to the Steelers. They beat the Falcons by one.
Speaker 5 (18:31):
The games that they've won, it's like, yes, yes, you
should have beat the Saints twenty five to nineteen. That's
not even I would assume you should beat them. Probably
buy more. You beat the Bills, but that's a divisional game.
That's like those aren't you have to put that into consideration.
You're weird, Yes, those are always weird every single time.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
So I don't know.
Speaker 5 (18:52):
I look at the Patriots and I'm super intrigued, but
I just.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
Don't know if I'm ready to say yes.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
I don't think they're contenders the way some people are
putting them out to be, like for the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
I don't right now.
Speaker 5 (19:05):
I would not say the Patriots are a contender, even
though their record would say otherwise.
Speaker 10 (19:09):
To your point, Monci, I think the Patriots actually do
or going into the season, had the easiest strength of schedules.
Speaker 6 (19:15):
Yeah, like trucks out.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
And they're they're playing, They're playing good.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
But it's just again, is it that you have like
a you have a great second year quarterback, but it's
really your coach that knows how to kind of control
the team or the environment that you're in.
Speaker 11 (19:29):
Mm hm.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
So I think I think that Vraybele cleaned up a lot.
Speaker 6 (19:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
So I lost a ton of money betting on the
Patriots last year. Not that I thought they were gonna
win a ton of games, sure, but I'm like, this
team is better than this team is better than a
twelve point underdog. Like remember the other day we picked
the Panthers and the Packers. Yeah, we're just like the
pack Like the only handicap we had was Green Bay
does not deserve to be a double.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Digitsolutely, that was it, and we were right, and we
were right.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
So I just kept thinking, like the Patriots don't deserve
to be nine point thought this team is better than that,
and you know what, they weren't. They kept losing and
I kept losing, and I kept losing. And I know
that's that's surprising that people have heard me this year,
But last year I was pretty damn good at this thing.
I just had a blind spot for doing. Ie, they
(20:19):
had that much. I thought they were much better team.
Like there's teams like this in the NFL that have
their their talent is just unknown, like you're just not
necessarily familiar with. Like the Seattle Seahawks defense is incredible,
it really is. Name five starters. I'm not saying you,
but I'm just saying in general, right, Like you know
what I'm saying, it's hard to do for some of
(20:40):
these teams that don't necessarily have the guys you've seen
in and out. Now, I know we can both name
five starters because this is what we do for a living, right,
But it's like, yeah, it's a little bit different and
it gets tricky on the street. Absolutely absolutely, and so
that that's kind of where I landed with the Patriots
last year. I thought. I think Rabel though, is one
of the best at getting Like, to me, great coaches
(21:03):
take players that are average and making them above average.
Take above average players and make them great in the
right position. That's what I think is happening here. Everybody's
in the right spot and that's why it's worked.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
Look at you were not wrong with the Patriots.
Speaker 5 (21:17):
You were just early, clearly clearly because look at them
right now.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
And I again I every that that Bills you know
when was was huge, but like they just it's it
looks like.
Speaker 5 (21:29):
They're like a bully team, Like you're gonna have to
bully them a little bit to win.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
And Mike Rabel that.
Speaker 5 (21:36):
His style, right, Like He's like, they're like a bully,
and I don't know how you beat the bully.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
They're not gonna be They're not going to be the
lesser physical They're not.
Speaker 5 (21:46):
They're not They're they're rush defenses, I think the best, right, Like,
I think they have not allowed a running back to
go off on them sure this year yet.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
So I don't know.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
I mean obviously with Tampa, Bay is probably not going
to be Tampa since their running backs or star running
backs aren't playing.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
The thing that concerns me about the Patriots, Drake May
takes a lot of hits.
Speaker 3 (22:09):
He does.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
Drake May got sacked five times by Miles Garrett himself
against Cleveland. I want to say, I think the number
is like fifteen sacks in the last three games.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
That's concerning Yepeah.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
You know. I the more times you see the blue tent,
the worst it gets. Yes, I would suggest getting out
of there. Throw the ball away, throw the ball, move
the ball, get the ball out. And that's one of
the things that we see troubles with all quarterbacks. Just
look in Chicago and pay any attention to any Ben
Johnson press conference, and he's like, I'd rather an incompletion
(22:42):
that was in the progression, you know, than a you know,
than a big play sometimes but always in the progression
and making big plays Teef the sacred.
Speaker 12 (22:51):
Oh nice, that is a transition. Don't try that at home.
He's a professional. By the way, I believe the Patriot
it's only allowed seventy five yards a game on.
Speaker 5 (23:02):
The ground, okay to team two teams it's something stupid.
Speaker 12 (23:07):
We got two military academies playing right now, so I
got to update. Navy has thrown one whole pass. We've
got five and a half minutes to go. In first
half at Notre Dame. It's the Irish fourteen to seven
and Navy is zero for one through the air in
the game on FS one on the last drive and
Air Force only had one drive in the third quarter.
They threw two passes. Of course, it was an eleven
(23:29):
play drive and Air Force they went twenty two yards
in eleven plays. It was a near seven minute drive
and they went twenty two yards. That is worse than
Iowa today. Air Force is now three of eight through
the air eleven yards passing and early fourth quarter. San
Jose State at home leads the Air Force Academy twenty
(23:50):
to sixteen final seconds of the first half, with wake
Forest now leading ten six at number fourteen Virginia at
fifteenth throughanked Louisville Cardinals up thirteen ten over Cal in
the final seconds before halftime. Early second quarter at number
four Alabama, the Tide lead LSU three nothing. Garrett Nusmyer,
LSU quarterback ten of eleven through the air for seventy
(24:11):
six yards. We've got the earlier games, which went to
Ohio State still undefeated, Indiana still undefeated, and Texas A
and M still undefeated. Those are the top three in
college Football's rankings this week. Number two Indiana's ten and
oh after the late touchdown pass got them a win
at Penn State twenty seven to twenty four. Penn State
(24:31):
is oh and six in Conference Georgia and Old Miss
with wins. Top ten matchup at Texas Tech went to
the Red Raiders humbling BYU twenty nine to seven. Ninth
ranked Oregon escaped with a win in the rain at
Iowa eighteen sixteen on a field goal in the final seconds.
The Ducks, appropriate in the rain, had scored on a
safety early in the game after a bad snap on
(24:54):
the punt, and Oregon winds up winning by two at
sixteenth rank Vanderbilt a time. Vandy beats Auburn forty five,
thirty eight Miami over Syracuse thirty eight.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
Ten.
Speaker 12 (25:05):
Wisconsin at home, which was two and six this year,
beat number twenty three Washington thirteen to ten. College football
selection Sunday is December. The seventh and ex rankings come
out Tuesday. In college basketball number fifteen. Alabama won at
number five Saint John's one three ninety six. Bama will
host number one per Due on Thursday. Texans kicker matthew
(25:26):
Wright is up from the practice squad. Houston kicker Kayimi
fairbarn is out with a quad injury. Texans quarterback c J.
Stroud out with a concussion. Packers kicker Brandon McManus will
play Monday night against the Eagles after a quad injury.
Philadelphia wide receiver AJ Brown due to play. Giants kicker
Graham Gano out with a neck injury, so Young Way
who will start. He's up from the practice squad today.
(25:49):
The Rams will start kicker Harrison MeVis, but sad kicker
Joshua Carty is not going anywhere. And as far as
the NBA tonight, we've got a lead for the Dallas
Mavericks early three quarter sixty two fifty eight. I know
they're playing the Wizards, it will still count as a victory.
Dallas is two and seven, the Wizards are one and eight.
Atlanta at home leads the Lakers thirty one twenty four
(26:11):
late in the first quarter. As for the NHL many
games tonight, thirteen total. The Utah Mammoth are tied at
Montreal two to two in the second period. And sports fans,
have you heard of the name Elena Rebakina. She won
Wimbledon just a few short years ago, and in women's
ten as well men's two. They have a year end
final where they take the top eight in the world
(26:33):
and play a tournament around robin and then a little
one week tournament to decide who's the essentially the best
of the year. Who wins the last tournament of the year.
Elena Rebakina beat the number one player, Arena Sabolenka in
the championship today. Rebaccna went five to zero in this
week's tournament indoors in Saudi Arabia. She takes home over
(26:56):
five million, nine five million dollars. We're playing five matches
this week.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Good work, get it with them.
Speaker 12 (27:05):
All back to you, damn.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Thanks Steve Martin Weiss monsters coming to the live from
the Fox Sports Radio studios. Both of us looking for
our five like our million dollar match opportunity. I speak
for both of us, confidently we're available for that.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
We are We're available once you figure that out.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
Yeah, I could play six matches if you need me.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
To Let's not get crazy, but seven is the max.
Let's not get crazy. Steve was talking about the Dallas
Mavericks and their relative struggles to the rest of the NBA,
which is a lot. Yeah, they're playing another team that's
struggling mightily historically, the Washington Wizards. But part of the
(27:47):
reason why the Dallas Rapveris are struggling so historically is
they traded Luca Doncis to the Los Angeles.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
Lakers idiots in a move that's.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
Just idiots, idiot one.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
He's got to bring it up.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
It's never forget, right, never forget.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
Never forget.
Speaker 1 (28:07):
That's funny.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
So anyway, the Lakers been on a tear.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
They really have been, and.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
There's been a Luca Dantisanos Reeves show or.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
A Laka Jake Ravia Ravia.
Speaker 5 (28:21):
He's also been DeAndre Ayton also looks like he can
play basketball suddenly.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
The only person, it seems that looks like they can't
play is Lebron because he's not.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
He's not. Look, look, the Lakers, I don't know what they're.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
Gonna do, Martin, because Lebron is going to ruin what
they're doing roue In. Right now, they're playing fast because
they have technically really one of the slower guys you
could say, is Luca. But when you just have one
slow guy who is still so effective, you can still
move the ball and play fast basketball. And who plays
fast basketball in the Western Conference, a lot of the contenders. Sure, Okay,
(29:01):
see Rockets, they're San Antonio Spurs, they're fast, they're young,
they're fast.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
The Lakers.
Speaker 5 (29:07):
If you want to be true contenders, you need to
be fast, okay. And this beginning as a Clippers man,
because we are having a rough start to the season
and I don't know if it's gonna get any better.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Clippers feel like they stay all the way to the ride.
Speaker 5 (29:19):
On the free that's so rude and so accurate. And
so the Lakers can't have a guy, another old dude
coming out to play Lebron even if you can still play.
Speaker 3 (29:32):
He is going to demand the ball.
Speaker 5 (29:34):
You know, the ball is gonna have to go through him,
and that is going to slow down the Lakers so much.
Speaker 3 (29:39):
And I hope it happens.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
As a Laker hater, I hope they. I can't wait
for Lebron to come back, because Lebron's not going anywhere,
you guys.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
He in one place, He's going from the bench to
the courts.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
And I just don't know if his ego will allow
him to play the correct amount of minute that maybe
he should be playing, or maybe even coming off the
bench in some games.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
Like I don't see that happening. But like he is
going there.
Speaker 5 (30:08):
They look right now like a good team that can
disrupt the West once Lebron gets there.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
I don't think so. I don't think the Lakers are
a team that can actually make a noise in the
Western Conference.
Speaker 3 (30:20):
I think right now.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
Currently constructed no Like I hear, I hear your point. However, however,
I'm old enough to remember that you know, DeAndre Ayton
was the second biggest person on the buyout market, which
I'll remind you for like the ever average person walking
(30:43):
around may not be tied into the.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
Intricacies of the NBA salary cap.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
The Portland Trailblazers paid DeAndre Ayton tens of millions of
dollars to go home. We would actually like to pay you,
not work for us. Like that to me, So, like,
here's the deal, all right, So, like I get what
(31:09):
you're saying in terms of record and roster, and there's
Luca donchets there, so you're like, well, you know, Luca
took the MAVs to the finals, and you know, I
get the argument. A team with DeAndre eight and as
you said it, and a team with Jake Laavia as
you're starting like three man is a first round exit.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
It's just now, maybe.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Luca will be historic and remark and score sixty five
points a game and get seventeen assists and twenty five
rebounds and only get one technical foul per so he's
able to go all the way. But I just don't
see it. I don't see Well, you look at the
Denvers and the Oklahoma shitty sure, even the Houston's right
like so like to me, I agree with you that
(31:53):
the Lakers are in a bad.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
Spot, yes, but you don't think that they are that good.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
I think that they'll be I think that they will
be better with Lebron. Interesting, but I think that like
better with Lebron is it's really nice right now? Like
I've never been to I've never been to Alaska, but
I imagine September in Alaska is beautiful sure right, if
(32:19):
not till later on down the line where things get ugly.
So like your coat might be warmer with Lebron, you
know what I'm saying, But no matter what, you still
freeze it. So like, I think the team will be
better with him, their record will be worse, but ultimately
they're they're not a real They're not there's not a
real contender right now.
Speaker 2 (32:41):
I don't see them being a real contender right now.
I'm sorry, you know, maybe.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
It's very early.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
I need to apologize to joke Larravi.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
I'm not familiar with your game, but I don't think
he can guard like the wings of the NBA like and.
Speaker 5 (32:54):
Maybe and maybe you're right, but I do think DeAndre
Ayton looks a lot better than I anticipated.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
That's because your anticipation toilet. That's what That's what I've
been having this conversation all week.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
Everybody's like, Oh, you know, it's not that bad.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Is it that good?
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Is that God?
Speaker 1 (33:16):
Is it that good?
Speaker 3 (33:17):
No, it's not.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
That's the question we should be asked. He said, Oh,
you know, he's not that bad. That's not that bad.
Is it that good?
Speaker 2 (33:24):
Well, I don't mind it. Do you like it?
Speaker 1 (33:27):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (33:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (33:29):
Ten games in eight through the scene, everybody plugging along,
scoring a ton but like, come on, Like, I'm well
enough to remember the playoffs last year when Anthony the
Average made off the Reds look like he was going
back to the archestras. All due respect, you know what
I'm saying, All due respect to the kid, I'm not
saying that. I'm not saying I'm not taking anything away
(33:51):
from right now. But if you're telling me on the
list of Western Conference contenders, the Lakers, if I were
ranking them one through that had them fifth surely in
the West. And that's not even I haven't even done
all the characters on the East, but on the.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
Way, let's real. But yeah, that sounds about right, six.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
Or seven if you count the East in there too.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
Yeah, I agree with that.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
Yeah, but to me, if you're the if you have
the sixth best chance to win this like.
Speaker 5 (34:16):
But the West is so in the competition of the
West is just you know, way different than the East.
It's like a fifth in the West I think can't
win by the by the end of the regular season.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
The fourth fifth.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
I'm talking about necessarily in terms of I get what
you're saying. In terms of seeding, correct, you can win
the like we've seen teams in the West Conference Finals
from the sixth spots from the you know the teams
from the five, so I go to the West converce.
I'm not I'm talking about literally like we're doing DraftKings
objects our bet MGM odds of who you think will
win the finals. I'd have them fifth. I don't know
exactly where they would fall in the standings, but to me,
(34:52):
if you're the fifth orright, that's like you gotta everything's
gotta go right. Everything's got to go right. And and uh,
I don't know to your point, maybe that Sciattica in
Lebron's right side went right for the Lakers so they.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
Could find this chemistry in the first what nine ten games?
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Is yep? Coming up next, Monci, it's time for you
to don the black robe and the.
Speaker 7 (35:19):
Gabbl guilty sports, Court's rights sports.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
I know who's not guilty right here, right now. That's
the Penn State Didney Lions salute to you. They went
all the way down to the last minute. Fired coach.
They've already lost every big game they played. They were
doing that before they fired the coach, and today I thought,
to me, showed a lot of heart.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
They did want to play Spoiler.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
That was what to me that was a story of
the Penn State Indiana game. Was mandoz are incredible in
the fourth quarter?
Speaker 2 (35:54):
Penn State? Way does show up?
Speaker 3 (35:56):
Wait to show up?
Speaker 1 (35:57):
Way to show up?
Speaker 3 (35:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (35:59):
All right, let's showed up today. Let's play Sports Court.
Speaker 10 (36:03):
That's right, all right, guys, it is time for this
week's edition of the Sports Court. I as always have
a list here of people from around the world of sports.
If we're going to put them on trial here in
the Sports Court, I'll present their case and then it's
up to you, guys, the jury, to tell me whether
they are guilty or not guilty. You guys ready, yes,
do it all right? First up, JJ McCarthy stands accused.
(36:24):
So a clip went viral this week from the Vikings
postgame locker room after their win over the Lions. The
clip was of McCarthy with a glare on his face,
nodding with his head cocked forward. He was asked about
the clip in a press conference this week, and he
said it's his alter ego, who he calls nine. There's
been mixed responses to the whole thing, some calling it corny,
others liking it. But I want to know from you guys,
(36:45):
JJ McCarthy or should I say nine guilty or not guilty?
Speaker 6 (36:49):
What do you think, classie?
Speaker 3 (36:51):
I'm gonna say not guilty.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
He did not do it.
Speaker 5 (36:54):
Listen, whatever whatever you do that floats your boat to
like help you prepare for a game, a challenge, I
have no.
Speaker 3 (37:02):
Problem with it.
Speaker 5 (37:03):
Didn't he like to be barefoot on the field to
like feel and like meditate or something like.
Speaker 6 (37:09):
I at least know he has that meditation on the off.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
Hits the pregame barefoot would sit cross legged at the
at the end zone and with no music, just staring
into the space.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
Yeah, so he's that's in if that's a stot. Not guilty.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
Guilty, so guilty of being weird, being weird.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
You're all through number nine. It's weird though.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
He's just walking around with thong sand Do you want
to go play a football game talking.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
About, oh, where's the peacepike? Go play?
Speaker 3 (37:39):
He did and then they won not because of him.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
So every time you're throw it in completion, that that's
Jonathan James McCarthy. Would you would you pull on a
red option every for forty yards?
Speaker 3 (37:49):
That's not that's yeah, yeah, line.
Speaker 10 (37:54):
All right, justin Jefferson did approve though, Remember he actually
said he has a similar one who he calls Jets,
but I feel like when it's justin Jefferson.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
Yeah cool.
Speaker 6 (38:04):
So anyway, next up.
Speaker 10 (38:06):
Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk stands accused. So reports came
out this week that Patriots head coach Mike Rabel was
kind of interested in several Titans players at the trade deadline,
but the Patriots reportedly reached out, but Titan's owner Amy
Adams Strunk didn't want her team to agree to any
trades with him. This, of course, stems from bad blood
after she surprisingly fired Rabel back in twenty twenty three.
(38:27):
So Amy Adams Strunk, guilty or not guilty?
Speaker 6 (38:29):
Martin, what do you.
Speaker 1 (38:30):
Think I'll go not guilty? Because I go again. I
don't all the way believe the story. Like it sounds great,
it's a hell of a headline, but like realistically speaking,
if if the Titans had called, it's I mean, the
Patriots had called and said I want two first rounders
and a starter for Jeffrey Simmons, Jeffery Simmons will be
(38:50):
a Patriot, Like stop it.
Speaker 3 (38:53):
I'm gonna say guilty. I'm gonna believe that the story
is real.
Speaker 5 (38:59):
So I'm gonna be like, you did not make a
trade to make your team better out.
Speaker 3 (39:03):
Of spite, out of bad blood, that.
Speaker 5 (39:06):
Is, you know, that's too much Jerry Jones, Like it's guilty.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
All right?
Speaker 10 (39:11):
Next up, Lincoln Riley stands accused. So last night USC
beat Northwestern thirty eight to seventeen at the La Colisseum.
Speaker 6 (39:18):
But there's one play in particular that has fans pretty
split on social media.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
Oh oh yeah yah.
Speaker 10 (39:24):
Early in the second quarter, on fourth down, USC was
set to punt the ball away, but Lincoln Riley called
a trick play and the punter quote unquote threw an
absolute dime for a first down. But it turns out
the punter again, I say quote unquote punter was actually
the Trojan's third string quarterback, who was former five star
recruit Sam Howard. He was wearing number eighty, though, which
(39:45):
is usually worn by the team's actual punter. The team
had quietly changed Howard's number on the game day roster,
and it was totally legal. Lincoln Riley actually said they
did it three weeks ago, but no one caught it
till now. A lot of people are upset, though, calling
it a bush league move. But what do you guys think,
Lincoln Riley guilty or not guilty?
Speaker 5 (40:03):
It is a bush league but I'm gonna say not guilty.
Speaker 3 (40:10):
He didn't break any rules. He didn't break any rules.
He did it.
Speaker 1 (40:15):
As I've said before on this show, legality does not
define my morality. And just because this is legal, now,
this is coward yellow belly. You're playing Northwestern on a
Friday night, and you know what you're doing. All this foolishness. Now,
if you had told me this is what I don't
understand why more teams don't how come you can't find
guys who can throw and kick or training kickers are
(40:36):
trained backup quarterback. That's but this right here, switching the number.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
No, they didn't switch the number.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
They can't switch it. Sports radio, you know, Moncie, it's
sure is rating. It seems like everywhere in the Midwest
it is coming down pouring as we watch these college
football games. I just watched Marcus Freeman give an interview
(41:02):
shopping wet.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
But the reason I bring this up is because watching
Oregon and Iowa today game being played at Iowa.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
Oregon wins on a field goal.
Speaker 1 (41:14):
Atticus Sapington, who sounds like he played a major role
in the War of eighteen twelve made the Harry Potter
Very Good xby the armis for Atticus sappicted right, so
either one. But he made the game winning field goal
for Oregon and what felt like a Midwestern of just
hurricane and I start day landing out there just visor,
(41:38):
no hood, no nothing.
Speaker 3 (41:40):
Because Nike was like, you have to show your Nike apparel.
Speaker 2 (41:43):
But I mean you can't.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
You can't id it. Now, do you have a Nike jacket?
Speaker 10 (41:48):
No?
Speaker 3 (41:48):
Okay, then you got to guse me about to suck
it up.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
I am not. You know, chapter and verse memorized with
the whole Nike catalog. I feel confident they got a raincoat.
Speaker 3 (41:59):
I'm sure they do. Just wondering if they didn't bring it,
you know.
Speaker 1 (42:02):
But it's like that if I always find that fascinating,
because I do think that there is some I don't
want to phrase it, like when Mike McDaniel, remember that game,
the last playoff game that Mike McDaniel will coach as
the head coach of the Miami Dolphins in Kansas City
where it was super cold, and Mike McDaniel.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
Just looks like he's miserable.
Speaker 3 (42:25):
On the sideline, he's still wearing caprice.
Speaker 1 (42:27):
I think in that, I mean if he wasn't he
was mentally and Andy Reid's mustache was frozen solid and
he was completely unbothered. But he looks like he looks
like he's a snowman, like he's supposed to be there
like this. Yeah, this is my time to chime. But
give me a carrotter and two buttons, right and shine.
Mike McDaniel is over there like, oh my god, I've
(42:50):
never been this cold in my entire life.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
I'm absolutely miserable.
Speaker 1 (42:53):
I think that that there is something too like that,
that that attitude when you look at the team.
Speaker 3 (43:00):
No, that is Dan Lanning's alter ego.
Speaker 2 (43:03):
But I think that Dan Lanning could have worn a
raincoat today.
Speaker 1 (43:06):
He absolutely if they wore a raincoat, they wouldn't have
converted that over.
Speaker 5 (43:10):
But yeah, to him, that's like showing like I'm not
affected by this. That's what he's showing to you know, Io, Well,
I am not affected by this?
Speaker 3 (43:20):
Are you affected by this?
Speaker 1 (43:21):
All I was thinking was everyone at this game is
going to have a cold tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (43:29):
Everyone is calling in sick.
Speaker 1 (43:31):
Everyone is going to have a head coat. It would
be a run on theraflu in eugenea Oregon. I'm sure
of it.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
But the iHeart Radio app, you can stream us wherever

Speaker 1 (43:40):
Catch us and all of our Fox Sports Radio shows

up at the top of your screen. Now, the midseason
award winner for Best Radio the iHeartRadio App. But now
(44:04):
that it's the midseason space in the NFL, he has
set the table for let's go ahead and give some
midseason awards.
Speaker 3 (44:09):
Why not?
Speaker 10 (44:10):
Yeah, let's do it so NFL Midseason Awards. Like you
guys kind of mentioned there, we are at the midpoint
of the NFL seasons, so obviously plenty of football left
to be played. But if the awards were to be
given out today, I want to know who you guys
would give you one two. So let's start with this
one MVP Most Valuable Player in the NFL, Monsei, who
would you give it to if the season were.
Speaker 6 (44:31):
To end right now.
Speaker 5 (44:32):
If the season ended right now, I would probably give
my MVP to Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He has been the reason that, in spite of the
injuries to his favorite targets, that Tampa Bay still leads
the NFC North at six and two, and I don't
I think obviously again, Tampa Bay is just has a
(44:53):
good defense, they're a solid team, but he is the reason,
and he doesn't he has that he don't give of
a bleep factor, right, and so like his throws this seat,
he doesn't care.
Speaker 13 (45:05):
He isn't he's going to throw it to somebody bleep
you mentality exactly that he's had since college and at
this point it's just matured, but it's still there and
he's been so fun to watch.
Speaker 3 (45:17):
So to give it to Baker.
Speaker 1 (45:19):
If the season ended today, my MVP honestly would be
Matthew Stafford. However, I think the MVP of the NFL
will eventually be Drake may Wow because I think that
the Patriots are going to win the AFC East, and
I think that nobody will be able to hold themselves
back from voting for the guy that did this, Josh
(45:40):
Allen from the AFC Dominance, sure that he's yet to actually.
Speaker 6 (45:44):
Have sure now before I ask you guys the next one.
Speaker 10 (45:47):
On the previous show, we just had bucking fits here
on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (45:51):
Not a flag Jason Fitz.
Speaker 10 (45:53):
Jason Fitz brought up the possibility of Jonathan Taylor winning
m VP for him. He said that would be his
MVP if it ended to What do you guys think
about that?
Speaker 5 (46:01):
I mean, I have no problem with that at all,
but I learned quickly a couple of years ago when
Christian McCaffrey didn't win the MVP.
Speaker 3 (46:07):
That it's just not going to go to anybody else
that's on a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Fair enough, I respect to take and I respect Jason
Fitch for going out there playing in flag.
Speaker 3 (46:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:14):
I might be there with him in a couple of weeks. Yeah,
I might be there with him in a couple of weeks.
Just need to see it a little more well also too,
we know it's a futile attempt, but it's the football
we grew up with, and running.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
Backs matter, Yes, yes they do.
Speaker 10 (46:28):
Last running back to win it, I think was Adrian Peterson.
I don't know if anyone's want it since the odds. Anyway,
next up, how about coach of the year. Obviously it's
been uh, there's a lot of intriguing options for this one,
so I'm interested to hear what you guys have to say,
but we'll start with you on this one, Martin. Who
would be your coach of the year if the NFL
season were to end today, I'm.
Speaker 2 (46:47):
Going to Indianapolis, I say, Shane Stiking.
Speaker 1 (46:49):
I say Shane Stiking because like, not only was that
a roster that nobody thought this was, like I shouldn't
say nobody. There was a handful of guys out there,
like really true honestly scout guys that I respect a lot,
who were like look out for the Colts and Daniel Jones,
and I was like, you know what I'm gonna do,
not listen to you, right, But like to the point,
Chase Psychon has shown year in year out if he's
(47:11):
the guy had a winning record with the Anthony Richardson,
which sounds way more complimentary than it did when Anthony
Richard was actually starting for the team. Right, He's really
good at this and he's got a guy Daniel Jones, who's.
Speaker 2 (47:22):
Above average he's making them look great.
Speaker 5 (47:25):
You know, I think a top candidate, I'm not giving
him the award, but the top candidate would be Mike Rabel, right,
that's a top candidate right now, but he would come
in second.
Speaker 3 (47:34):
For me, I think I would give it to Dave Canalis.
Speaker 14 (47:38):
The Panthers are are five and four, and I don't
think anyone expected them to be in this position, especially
with you know, Bryce Young getting hurt.
Speaker 5 (47:49):
Also, like here we are Kyler Murray clearly not the
answer right now in Arizona. They've been put him on
ir and like a lot of the things.
Speaker 3 (47:57):
Like oh he's too short.
Speaker 5 (47:58):
Bryce Young is just if not shorter, and they're finding
success with him. So for me, it's like Dave Canalis,
like come on, and what he's done with Rico Daubel,
And like just like the Panthers, they just beat the Packers.
Speaker 3 (48:12):
Like give it up for Dave Knallas and the Panthers.
Speaker 1 (48:15):
They have more games of more wins with less than
one hundred and twenty five fast yards than any other team.
Speaker 3 (48:21):
Any other teams. It's like who's there?
Speaker 1 (48:23):
Maybe less right up there?
Speaker 10 (48:25):
Yeah, And one of the main factors I feel like
every year with whoever wins Coach of the Year. It's
like one of the main things is it's it's an
under it's an overachieving team based off the roster. Sure,
and I feel like that totally fits for right, all
three of these Can that's too, yes, Verty, Bole Stichen
and Canallis.
Speaker 6 (48:43):
But yeah, love it anyway.
Speaker 10 (48:45):
Next up, Defensive Player of the Year, the defensive MVP.
If you will, Uh, who you guys got winning this award?
If the season were to end today, what do you think?
Speaker 6 (48:53):
Monci?
Speaker 5 (48:54):
I don't think anyone is standing out that much to
me yet when it comes to this, but it's between two,
it would either be probably I think i'd give it
to Miles Garrett.
Speaker 6 (49:06):
I last one.
Speaker 3 (49:07):
Yeah, I think I'd give it to Miles Garrett.
Speaker 5 (49:09):
But you know what, Nick Benito in Denver, I think
he's been a big part of their success too, so
he would probably be.
Speaker 3 (49:16):
Between one of those two. But I think I'm giving
right now the edge to Miles Garrett.
Speaker 2 (49:19):
I'm giving the edge Nick Bonnito.
Speaker 1 (49:20):
I didn't know if you were going to say that,
And I was about to have a moment like it's time,
it's time to have a conversation about the best pass
rushers in this league because Nick Benito is top five
and he's not fifth, and I don't think he's four thief. Seriously,
that guy impacts the game so much. They got earlier today.
(49:42):
I was talking Timpa this is that right, and talking
to both like Tim Bow. Knicks came up and he's like, dude,
Tim Tebow two point zero. That team is eight and
two because of that defense. That defense is as good
as it is because Nick Benito is a mfing problem. Yes, okay,
he's my defensive player of the year, flat out.
Speaker 3 (50:00):
Like I love that double team.
Speaker 2 (50:03):
I don't care triple team. What's it matter?
Speaker 3 (50:05):
It doesn't matter nobody. He seems unstoppable, and I agree.
I agree. That's so funny.
Speaker 1 (50:09):
He's got the fastest first step in the league right
now to me and all these other guys, Oh, I
get it, Miles Garretts, but give me Nick Bonito. It's time,
all right.
Speaker 10 (50:24):
How about for the rookies, do you guys have anyone
you're eyeing for offensive Rookie of the Year if it
were to happen today, what do you think Martin.
Speaker 1 (50:32):
So in Japan, if they don't have anybody they feel
look worthy of the cy young or like two people
that are like really whatever they call the Japanese, they
won't give it out. This would be a year I
would not give out an offensive Rookie of the Year
because between a Mecca Abuka and Tyler Warren, I don't
know who's better and more impactful, like sincerely, sincerely, Like
(50:52):
I have no issue with either one of those guys
because I get the Jackson Dart love, but these two
guys are impacting winning today right here, right now.
Speaker 2 (51:01):
And with Tyler Warren, he's the damn near outside.
Speaker 1 (51:04):
Of toddlath twn, the best player on that offense, and
they use him at all types of ways of Buka. Oh,
Mike Evans goes down, though Chris Gaba goes down, no issue.
Speaker 3 (51:12):
I'm good and he the last I think in Megabuka.
Speaker 5 (51:15):
The last couple of games has been kind of quiet
to like despite the injuries, and so I I'm not against.
Speaker 3 (51:22):
The don't give it to anyone this year. I'm not
against the take, but is it crazy? What about Jackson Dart?
I don't what about Jackson Dart.
Speaker 6 (51:32):
Like that's not crazy.
Speaker 5 (51:33):
I'm just at this point, at this point, he death
turned things around.
Speaker 3 (51:38):
For the Giants in a very short amount of time.
Speaker 5 (51:40):
And since nobody's standing out, there was a moment where
maybe you thought Ashton Genty could be, you know, the
offensive rookie of the year. I was hoping tedorro and
McMillan can do it for my fantasy teams. And he's
had like one great game and he's been solid. But yeah,
Tyler Warren seems like he's really there and helps the team.
(52:01):
But is he this like offensive powerhouse where he stands out?
Speaker 6 (52:04):
I don't think so, see for me.
Speaker 1 (52:07):
And I'm not trying to bang on Mansie right here,
but that's been a common refrain.
Speaker 2 (52:12):
Jackson Dark turned the Giants around.
Speaker 3 (52:14):
They did.
Speaker 2 (52:14):
They're fun, but they have won put three games over there?
Speaker 4 (52:19):
What about it?
Speaker 10 (52:20):
They don't have Molak neighbors anymore? His TOPGA I did,
I did it. You'd like to They're more fun to
watch for sure. That does not a Rookie of the
Year make to me.
Speaker 5 (52:30):
Yeah, no, And I think that's the point, right that
there's no one that's standing out.
Speaker 3 (52:34):
I think that's the bigger point here. There wasn't it was.
There's no like brock Bowers like we saw last year.
Speaker 1 (52:41):
No again, they at the end of the year. I
can tell you this definitively. I know this to be true.
Gathering Gathering, there is absolutely no chance of Tyler Schuck
wins this award. Nah, absolutely no shot.
Speaker 6 (53:00):
No calling your shot on that one.
Speaker 1 (53:02):
I'm just like, hey, you know what, I'm known for
my bold and audacious takes, and I just want Tyler
Shuck will not at not be Offensive of the Year.
Speaker 10 (53:14):
Yeah, if he comes out and throws for four hundred
yards tomorrow, though, we're gonna We're gonna pull this up
now for I'm sure you love that too.
Speaker 1 (53:21):
You could play this every week and you know what,
how about this if Tyler Shuk What do you think
the chances on Tyler Shuck never throws for four hundred
yards of his career.
Speaker 6 (53:35):
Probably pretty high. But I don't want to just bash
on the game. Kid. He's a grown.
Speaker 5 (53:44):
He's about to have his second career start, right, It's
only his second career.
Speaker 1 (53:48):
Start, second career start. Yes, third game of seeing action
in the last.
Speaker 3 (53:52):
Three Yeah, you know this.
Speaker 1 (53:55):
Saints had sixteen minutes of possession last week.
Speaker 2 (54:01):
Don't you gotta love it? You make a quarterback take
sixteen minutes.
Speaker 1 (54:04):
Of possession a football game is just fifteen minute quarters.
That means the other team had the ball for three minutes,
I mean for three quarters, save a minute, three all quarters,
save a minute.
Speaker 2 (54:22):
Thank god, we gotta thank god, you gotta do.
Speaker 15 (54:25):
Look at the new quarterback that was really the problem
in New Orleans.
Speaker 10 (54:32):
Well, considering they could have the number one pick. Don't
you want to know.
Speaker 2 (54:36):
Anything?
Speaker 1 (54:38):
My thing is this, we all should have known before now,
we all should have known before the draft. Look it
up and I think there's been only like in the
last prior to his Derek Carr, there's only been like
seven quarterbacks taking in the second round?
Speaker 2 (54:54):
Are some some astronomically low number. The reason why is
this because you are you already.
Speaker 1 (55:02):
No you either drafting a starter? Are you drafting a backup?
Night Like, seriously, there is not a ton of second
round quarterbacks draft that The number is defendively less than fifteen.
Speaker 10 (55:14):
So I can see from twenty fifteen to twenty twenty
four only six quarterbacks were drafted in the second round.
But that doesn't include this past year, which included Shuck obviously.
Speaker 2 (55:23):
So seven because he was the only one to go
in the second round.
Speaker 1 (55:25):
And you know, the number one thing was for me.
I thought your door, Sanders was gonna fall. I didn't
think it was gonna go in the first round. By
the time the first one actually got there, I wasn't surprised.
When we came back Friday, it was like, Oh, your
Door's gonna get drafted. Where's you gonna go? I think
a lot of people were like, some people were surprised,
but a lot of people that I get it. I
(55:46):
can see it. There's not a lot of spots Shix'
rookie starting quarterbacks. There's a lot of spots. But when
Tyler Shuck got drafted, they said, good sparisay, they said,
they are holding the black man down. When Tyler Shuck
got drafted, that that was the one that raised the flags.
Speaker 2 (56:04):
That was the one that everybody said, Oh, I smell
fishy around here.
Speaker 1 (56:10):
Tyler Shuck, you're starting quarterback for you know, on the
Saints tomorrow. Well, I said, it was just such a
ridiculous pick for a team that has.
Speaker 3 (56:20):
Why why and you know what you sit there.
Speaker 1 (56:24):
We talked about the Panthers a minute ago. Dave Canalis
Coach of the Year. I would love to coach in
the NFC South because, like we just be honest. If
we're really talking about Bryce Young, he's been.
Speaker 3 (56:39):
Better, but he's been far from good.
Speaker 1 (56:42):
You know what I'm saying. Yeah, good is a long way.
Speaker 2 (56:47):
But you know what the other two teams in your
division did last year?
Speaker 1 (56:53):
You signed Kirk Cousins to the biggest free agent contract
of the summer and then draft a quarterback weeks later.
This one second, you draft the twenty. He could rent
a car like he was Justin Herbert's backup at Oregon.
Justin Herbert has we have numerous accounts of Justin Herbert
(57:14):
failing in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (57:16):
Numerous he was just Herbert's backup.
Speaker 3 (57:20):
So you knew.
Speaker 1 (57:21):
I'm just saying like, and I'm not even saying just
Iurp's bad or good. I'm just saying he wrong enough
to where we can point to that playoff game against
the Time, Like that playoff game there that looked terrible
that Trevor Lawrence walked you down, dude, like, no, you
know you know what he was doing. Trevor Lawrence was
walking him down, walking to class.
Speaker 5 (57:42):
Fed up, He's just he's annoyed at the division because
it's like the Panthers are a legitimate wildcard team that
should not make sense.
Speaker 2 (57:54):
That should not make sense the year, And I'm not
all credit to you.
Speaker 1 (57:59):
You can only play the games on your schedule. When
you look at the dumb assery happening in the other
two teams of the division, it's a two horse race.
Speaker 3 (58:07):
It is true.
Speaker 1 (58:07):
Todd Bowles has been flying high. He's looking at the
Panthers like, oh my gosh, what's going on here? They
might have found something that ric o'dowell stop it.
Speaker 2 (58:17):
Coming up. We're talking on two.
Speaker 1 (58:18):
Good teams in the NFC. How about that?
Speaker 3 (58:20):
Are they.
Speaker 1 (58:22):
By record exactly? Honestly? One by record, the other by reputation?
Speaker 3 (58:28):
By reputation, We'll see.
Speaker 1 (58:30):
How this matchup adds up. We'll get to that in
just a minute. Martin Wis monci Blano's Fox Sports Radio.
So these are two teams, moncey. One of them did
defend a Super Bowl champion. It's hard to end the
year better than that.
Speaker 15 (58:46):
The other one started the year with everybody saying, oh
my god, can't you believe the Green Bay Packers got
BA Parsons super Bowl bound in Green Bay.
Speaker 1 (58:58):
In fact, Jordan Loves twenty seven years old. You know
what happened for Aaron Rodgers at twenty seven years old.
You know what happened for Berett Farver at twenty seven
years old.
Speaker 2 (59:07):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (59:07):
That's like the most useless stat but people throw it
out there like it matters, Like the Packers record on
a Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (59:14):
Right, Yeah, it does not matter.
Speaker 3 (59:16):
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (59:17):
But we're gonna see this game this weekend. Eagles at
the Packers. Both of these teams a ton of hype.
Both of these teams feel a little weird. I think
the most surprising news at the deadline was that AJ
Brown is still an Eagle, right, and then also we've
seen the Packers. Now I'll reference it again. Both of
(59:39):
the times there were big double digit favorites, losers to
the Cleveland Browns and then losers again to the Carolina Panthers.
Speaker 5 (59:48):
Yeah, the Packers have really been underwhelming from the start.
Like if you look at their wins, I am not
impressed by any of these wins, Like you beat the
Lions in Week one, but that feels so long about.
Speaker 2 (01:00:04):
Not only wasn't really long ago.
Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
I think it's we have to give a little credit
to the idea that the Packers had added Michael Parsons
to their defense, like that offensive line was in all
types of trouble. Absolutely, and I think you know, Michael
Parsons does matter of course, yes, especially in the first game,
right right.
Speaker 3 (01:00:23):
It just seems like you are so inconsistent.
Speaker 5 (01:00:27):
I can't trust you at all. So that is like
the big problem. I can't trust Jordan Love. If I
can't trust the quarterback, how can I trust the Packers?
Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
I don't so.
Speaker 1 (01:00:41):
I think a big part of football is the ability
to move grown men against their will. I don't know
how good the Packers are doing that.
Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
Yeah, seems that way.
Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
Third and one, let's take a deep shot. Fourth and one,
fourth and two, we're taking deep shots like the Packers
are more likely than anybody. It feels like on a
third and two or second and two to take a
to make a forty yard pass, right, And it's just
sometimes I just don't understand why we can't line up
and just run duo but right down the line of
scrimmage and just go get two yards. But let's just
(01:01:13):
go get two yards and keep the change with Football's easy, right, right.
But like some of the things that Jordan Love the
past attempts that he makes, it's like there was a
lot easier passes out there, and I get it. You
trust your arm. You know, you want to be dynamic
and all of that and make big plays, get explosives.
But sometimes it's just as easy as staying ahead of
the change moving forward.
Speaker 5 (01:01:33):
Right, It's the decision making is like is it completely
on you or is it more on the Packers and
what they're calling, Because it's just I look at them
and I'm like, I know you've won, and I know
your record says this, but when I see you the
eye test, you don't pass it at all.
Speaker 1 (01:01:49):
For me.
Speaker 3 (01:01:50):
The Packers do not.
Speaker 1 (01:01:51):
I don't think they don't. They don't in the same
way that I said to the NFC. None of the
teams right now are jumping out as like a clear
cut I don't think that we have a clear cut,
overwhelming favorite in the NFL right now like we've had
had in years past. Right, Yeah, like two years ago,
Kidsas City was like, it is clear they're the best
(01:02:11):
team in the league and everybody else's playing for second. Right,
We're still going to play the games, but it's clear, right,
I don't think we have a clear cut best team
in the league right now, but I would have the
Packers in my Tier two of like contenders of the
in the NFL, Like I think the Lines are better
than them. I think the Eagles are better than them.
I think the Seahawks are better than them.
Speaker 5 (01:02:31):
Yeah, agreed, but I agree with that. And the Eagles
made moves to get even better. Right before the trade deadline,
they were like, we're gonna We're trying here, y'all.
Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
We're trying to win.
Speaker 5 (01:02:42):
The division again back to back, you know, sure, which
no one has done in that division in years.
Speaker 3 (01:02:47):
They're definitely they made the moves.
Speaker 5 (01:02:49):
And in the last three games for Jalen Hurts, because
the big question was right their offensive attack, especially through
the air, Like Jalen Hurts, That's that's what it was.
But in the last three games he has thrown eight
touchdowns and one interception. In last game he threw four
touchdowns and one before three, like he's it seems like
they're figuring things out and Saquon Barkley has been quiet,
(01:03:10):
but things are.
Speaker 3 (01:03:12):
I feel like it's starting to click again at the
right time for Philadelphia.
Speaker 5 (01:03:15):
Like I'm comfortably would take Philly in this game over
Green Bay.
Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
I don't know how comfortable I would be in. I
do think Philly will win, but it's more that I
trust Philadelphia more on both sides of the ball.
Speaker 3 (01:03:29):
Toga consistent right right.
Speaker 1 (01:03:31):
And that sounds that can sound crazy because Philly has
had some clunker.
Speaker 3 (01:03:35):
Absolutely first half, absolutely right.
Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
But more often than that we've seen them kind of
turn it when they do have a cloker first half,
they've turned it on in the second half, whereas Green
Bay you can look up, they'll have they will be
winning every single stat except for the score, and it'll
be like the third quarter is like, dude, how is
it nine to seven?
Speaker 2 (01:03:54):
Oh? I get it, you had a fumble on the twelve.
Oh you missed three field You miss two field.
Speaker 1 (01:03:59):
Goals to turnover on down, So no wonder it's nine
to seven right now. And another thing, I don't like
the fact, what kid they ever find a kicker? The
Packers always missing kicks? The Rams another team always miss
a kick. To sign the kickers left, right, and center.
To find a.
Speaker 5 (01:04:13):
Kicker, Find a kicker, Find a kicker, And it seems
like no most of them could do sixty yardfield goals.
Speaker 3 (01:04:19):
Get one of those. You get one of them.
Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
Before we go.
Speaker 10 (01:04:22):
Who's can little starting the thicker kicker, as Steve de
Seger mentioned.
Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
Harrison Bevis, he hit a fifty nine.
Speaker 1 (01:04:31):
Yarder last year to win a game for Missouri.
Speaker 6 (01:04:33):
Oh how about that?
Speaker 10 (01:04:34):
Well, you know he's he's five foot eleven, two hundred
and forty three pounds, hence the name.
Speaker 2 (01:04:38):
So again, don't be divers.
Speaker 6 (01:04:41):
Get the jump scare when on the field.
Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
That kid, there's no way he stepped on the field
as a kicker.
Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
He was a position player who says, you know what,
I five eleven in my arms are.
Speaker 6 (01:04:52):
Real short offensive guard?
Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
I can be thing.
Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
Yeah, I can share this thing.
Speaker 1 (01:04:57):
I want to tell one more story of how the
Saints think scounting real quick. Blake Groopy is like the
worst starting kicker in the NFL by a lot of
different metrics, especially when you consider the amount of times
he's been allowed to kick. Most kickers get cut the
amount of times as bad as Blake Groupy has been.
He was at Notre Dame, right, he was at Notre Dame.
You know who else was at Notre Dame the same
(01:05:18):
time as Blake Groopy, Brandan Aubrey. So somehow, yeah, somehow
to say got the worst of the two kickers that
was at Notre Dame. At the time, I think Brendan
Norby was on a soccer team. But still, nonetheless, nonetheless
you're talking about they can boot sixty yarders. You know
what I feel called Blake Groupy will never break the
(01:05:40):
longest field goal record of the NFL, Tyler Schuck Out
Rookie of the Year, Blake Groopy Longest field goal Out,
Most Accurate Out, Brandon Aubrey live for both, Steve.
Speaker 12 (01:05:51):
The Sager, Harrison Mavis. I looked it up SEC record
sixty one yard field goal at Missouri four years ago,
kicking at Missouri and was a high school kicker.
Speaker 10 (01:06:03):
And yes, he is enormous, my new favorite NFL player.
Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
I ran that.
Speaker 1 (01:06:08):
I was here that day he hit that sixty one yarder.
I ran that highlight for hours.
Speaker 12 (01:06:13):
The Penn Stay kickoff guy is also enormously large, especially
in the all white uniforms.
Speaker 16 (01:06:20):
I'm here for it. I'm here for it absolutely. But
as what makes the world go round? Can we update
the Air Force game we mentioned an hour ago? They
finished with forty one yards passing nice and won the
game at San Jose State twenty six to sixteen. They
were four yards of carry on the ground pretty good.
It was sixty three carries for two hundred and sixty.
Speaker 12 (01:06:41):
One yards rushing for air Force. Navy meanwhile has twenty
two yards passing in the rain. At Notre Dame, it's
the Irish twenty eight to ten over the midshipman. Early
in the third quarter. Jeremiah Love eleven carries ninety one
yards and two touchdowns for the Irish. They've just started
the second half. At fourth ranked Alabama, the tie ahead
(01:07:01):
of LSU seventeen to three, even though Notre Dame on
the ground twelve carries just thirty four yards. Garrett Nosemeyer
LSU quarterback thirteen of fifteen through the air seventy six yards.
End of the third quarter, wake Forest leading at number
fourteen Virginia thirteen to nine, final seconds of the third quarter,
(01:07:22):
cal Back in the lead at number fifteen Louisville twenty
three to twenty. Everything else in the top twenty five
is a final from today, including wins for Ohio State
and Texas A and M, each still undefeated, and for
number two Indiana ten and zero. It won on a
late touchdown pass at Penn State twenty seven, twenty four.
The game winning drive was ten plays eighty yards in
(01:07:44):
just a minute. Fifteen Hoosiers will host Wisconsin next Saturday
and then have a week off. Wisconsin at home somehow
beat number twenty three Washington thirteen to ten. Huskies had
led ten to three in the third quarter and then
didn't score another point. Badger's quarterback Day O'Neil left in
the first quarter with a leg injury. Wisconsin as a
team with six of eighteen passing for forty eight yards
(01:08:07):
and yet a home victory at home, speaking of overtime
for number sixteen Vanderbilt, which trailed Auburn seventeen to three
late in the first half, Andy forty five thirty eight
the final, Miami beat Syracuse thirty eight to ten. Wins
for Georgia Ole miss and number eight Texas Tech twenty
nine to seven over seventh ranked byu IS twenty six
(01:08:28):
to nothing in the fourth quarter. Texas Tech went five
for five on field goals, and in the reign at Iowa,
ninth ranked Oregon a winner on a field goal in
the final seconds eighteen to sixteen. The Ducks had scored
on a safety early in the game after a bad
snap on a punt. Iowa had missed a two point
pass with under two minutes left, two point win for
the Ducks, and in two weeks Oregon will host usc
(01:08:52):
College Football Selection. Sunday is December seventh. The next rankings
come out Tuesday. If you didn't hear about the first rankings'
just notreed aime at number ten for the College Football Playoff.
The fact that Texas and Oklahoma would each be out
as of now despite being ranked eleven and twelve because
Virginia at number fourteen in the country as ACC champ
(01:09:14):
would get in. Memphis was in as of this past
week as the best of the group of five, and
then Memphis lost at home last night, which is great
news for teams like South Florida and North Texas. The
first round of the College Football Playoff will be at
campus sites and it's due to start with a Friday
night game about a week before Christmas. Then the other
(01:09:35):
three games will be on Saturday, the twentieth. In college basketball,
number fifteen, Alabama won at number five ranks Saint John's
one three to ninety six, and women's tennis Elena Rebakena
is five million dollars richer after beating number one Arena
Sablenca in the championship of the season ending WTA Finals NHL.
Among the thirteen games, New Jersey won in a shootout
(01:09:56):
against Pittsburgh two to one, and to the NBA A
w for the Dallas Mavericks one eleven, one oh five
at Washington, which is one and nine this season. The
Lakers are somewhat behind.
Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
In Atlanta.
Speaker 17 (01:10:10):
It's Hawks ninety two sixty five over LA in the
third quarter Austin Reeves and the Lakers still out with
a string growing of course, Lebron James still out Luka
Donsi twenty two points, eleven assists.
Speaker 1 (01:10:22):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin Weiss. Monsey Bilanos coming
to you live for the Fox Sports Radio studios. You
want to see what cool t shirt mounts he is
on today, I'm telling you she puts a lot of
thought into this. You can on the Fox Sports Radio
YouTube channel. Just search foxforts Radio on YouTube. You see
our best videos from all of our shows, and don't
(01:10:42):
stop there. Hit the thumbs up by kind of comment away.
Let us know who takes you like it, even who
takes you don't like Just search Fox Sports Radio on
YouTube and subscribe. You know I was wearing this sweatshirt
the other day, the one I have on right now.
You can see it on YouTube. Somebody asked me if
this was a dispensary. It says in store Goods on it,
and it's it's not. It's just a brand. But this
(01:11:04):
brand was started by one of my friends in Detroit
like twelve years ago, so it's you know, it's not
overly popular.
Speaker 5 (01:11:12):
Sure, sure, but I was just like Corner Store Goods
was like, no, what, I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:11:18):
At work and he was like, oh, oh, well, you know,
but it just shows you how like as time changes,
things change. Sure, you know what I'm saying. Sure, because
when this shirt was made, dispensaries didn't exist, like twelve
twelve years.
Speaker 3 (01:11:31):
Ago, I guess, like in the way that they are now.
Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
In every quo, he didn't even exist. It wasn't even
a thing.
Speaker 3 (01:11:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:11:38):
I also would like to take a moment here, did
someone else?
Speaker 1 (01:11:41):
Is not a thing?
Speaker 3 (01:11:42):
It's not a thing. Share with the class rookies.
Speaker 1 (01:11:44):
In the NBA impacting winning.
Speaker 2 (01:11:47):
We do this every year. We do this every single year.
Speaker 1 (01:11:53):
Can't you believe that this star is gonna come into
the NBA the first overall pick and save the world.
Speaker 3 (01:11:58):
I wonder what you're talking about out right.
Speaker 1 (01:12:00):
Now, I'm talking about Cooper flag but you can pick
you take your pick, take your pick from Cooper to
Wemba to Ziy.
Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
Before him, you know, Blake Griffin helped the Clippers a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
I'm saying, but even but I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (01:12:11):
You know, because he got hurt.
Speaker 1 (01:12:13):
It was that's not how this thing works. And I
saw people say things like people that make way more
money than me doing this, saying things like there's no
way I would trade the number one overall pick for
you Giannis.
Speaker 3 (01:12:29):
What what a developed already? Blair, that's a star. Huh Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:12:35):
He's like, would you would.
Speaker 1 (01:12:36):
You like five hundred thousand dollars or a lottery ticket?
Speaker 15 (01:12:43):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (01:12:44):
I think I take the five hundred.
Speaker 3 (01:12:45):
Thousand, thank you so much, and the lottery ticket can
be more money.
Speaker 1 (01:12:49):
That's the thing, right show, it's like the show before
before today bucking fits they play what they call it.
I think the best game is sports radio. Would you rather?
One of the would you rather? Was would you rather
take one hundred thousand dollars in your hand today or
the opportunity for a billion dollars if you could shake
Kareem Abdul Jabar's hand and within one week.
Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
So you just have to find Kareem Abdul.
Speaker 6 (01:13:14):
So if you don't and you don't shake his hand,
you get nothing.
Speaker 3 (01:13:16):
You get nothing. I'll take the I'm in LA. I
get chances like I could probably get to Kareem. They
I'll take the one hundred grand exactly exactly. I'll take
the hundred ground exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
That's kind of a yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:13:30):
No, take the one you.
Speaker 1 (01:13:31):
Got in hand.
Speaker 11 (01:13:31):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:13:32):
The Cooper Flag situation is quite interesting.
Speaker 5 (01:13:34):
I can't say that I sat there and watched a
lot of his college.
Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
Games intently or intensely intently. Out of it.
Speaker 5 (01:13:42):
I was just watching right that people were so high
on him. It's like they can't be that wrong, right,
Is this just has to be a slow start because
he doesn't look great?
Speaker 1 (01:13:54):
No, I mean that's I am not surprised that Cooper
Flag is having a little bit struggle to adjust it
to the NBA. Sure. I just want everybody to remember
this the next time we have this old prology that's
take a j Debants or whatever taking the college basketball
by storm. It's gonna be rough when they get to
(01:14:14):
the league. Even Lebron did not make the playoffs his
first year as a rookie. Ye, Like, you know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:14:21):
It's just it's very difficult.
Speaker 1 (01:14:22):
It's just it's just not what happens. It's not the NFL.
NFL you got some rookies coming, rookie running back, cool,
no problem.
Speaker 2 (01:14:28):
In fact, I prefer it, you know what I'm saying.
Like the rookie receiver, I'm good. You know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
It's just not the reality. It's just not how things go.
And it's just not different leagues, different types of stuff.
All right, coming up next though, let's go back to
the NFL. It's time. We're halfway through. It's time.
Speaker 2 (01:14:46):
Well the real contenders please stand up.
Speaker 3 (01:14:49):
There's not many of them.
Speaker 1 (01:14:50):
You're gonna have a problem here coming to you live
the Fox Sports Radio studios. You can hit us up
on Twitter with your two cents. I'm at Martin Moncy,
is at Monci Bolanos like Sean Coin eighty six tuning in,
said Martin Weiss and Mons cooking the night. Appreciate you, Yeah,
(01:15:10):
Brenda b eighty one ways in more likely to happen
the end of the world or the Raiders being a
competitive football team for multiple seasons in a row. It
seems they can't retain their star players but on their
rookie deals and have a terrible QB situation. Moncy, end
of the world. Are Raiders being competitive for multiple seasons
in a row?
Speaker 3 (01:15:31):
Well, it looks like the end of the world.
Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
I'd say, go to church, yep, yep.
Speaker 3 (01:15:35):
To say, do what you want to do? What last time?
Have that meal?
Speaker 2 (01:15:39):
Right, exactly, have that meal you've always wanted meal.
Speaker 1 (01:15:43):
Whatever, whatever you're thinking. Because of their rapture is quickly coming.
Something tells me that the Raiders will not be involved
at all in this next segment. Contenders are pretenders?
Speaker 3 (01:15:55):
All right?
Speaker 10 (01:15:58):
That's right, a new segment here called tender or Pretender.
I guess it's really just for this week only because
it's the midway point of the season. Have part of
our little mid season celebration here. But I'm gonna go
through a list of NFL teams and ask you guys
whether you see them as contenders or pretenders this season. Okay,
so let's jump in. Let's start off with a team
you guys were just talking about recently in the Denver Broncos.
Speaker 6 (01:16:22):
Contenders or pretenders? What do you think Martin.
Speaker 1 (01:16:24):
Honestly, I've been trying to have been lying on myself
all year. I wrote them down on the paper, and
I've been wanting it to be true. As my AFC
representative for the Super Bowl. Pretenders, dog so pretenders. They
can't score, they can't score.
Speaker 3 (01:16:40):
It looks bad. Bo Nicks looks bad.
Speaker 5 (01:16:43):
And I know they had that crazy comeback win against
the Giants in the fourth quarter where he saved the day,
but he is so inconsistent offensively.
Speaker 3 (01:16:52):
They can't score. They cannot score. And as we get
into the playoffs, like I know.
Speaker 1 (01:16:58):
Pretenders, the sun shines on the Broncos absolutely.
Speaker 6 (01:17:02):
All right.
Speaker 10 (01:17:03):
Next up the Seattle Seahawks. What do you think, Moncy,
Contenders or pretenders?
Speaker 5 (01:17:06):
Yeah, I mean, I mean, I really did not think
Seattle coming into this season was going to be anything
talk I.
Speaker 3 (01:17:13):
Did not, And then I look at this team and
they are good in every department of the game. They
are contenders, and I did not see it.
Speaker 2 (01:17:23):
Absolutely contenders.
Speaker 3 (01:17:25):
I did not see it.
Speaker 2 (01:17:26):
And I think honestly, the trades under the radar for them.
Speaker 1 (01:17:31):
He is going to be a problem capital p in Seattle.
They're the one thing about the Seahawks that gives me
concern the past yards numbers. It's JSN and then it
falls off of Cliff that is about to become much
more democratic with Rashie.
Speaker 5 (01:17:47):
But give it up because Sam, you're right, Jackson Smith
and jig but has all the yards. But he is
Sam Darnold, I checked, has thrown to like fifteen different
players for a touchdown. The only other player that has
done it more I think is Baker Mayfield because of
all the injuries he's had.
Speaker 3 (01:18:01):
But like every every time I see Seahawks and the
end zone, who is that? Who did he throw the
ball to this time?
Speaker 5 (01:18:06):
But you're right, Jackson Smith and Jigba has all the
yards and Rashichi he is gonna be a nice edition.
Speaker 6 (01:18:13):
Next up, guys, how about the New England Patriots?
Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
Martin?
Speaker 6 (01:18:15):
Do you think they are contenders or pretenders?
Speaker 3 (01:18:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:18:19):
I think they're contenders. Do I think the Bills are
a little pretendish?
Speaker 1 (01:18:22):
I think they're contenders legitimately, because if you're hosting a.
Speaker 2 (01:18:25):
Home playoff game, guess what, you got a real shot.
Speaker 1 (01:18:28):
And at their record the way it is right now,
they have if I'm in New England, I have to
have a real belief I could be the one scene
I might get a day off in the playoffs, like
if things continue on track as now, definite contenders.
Speaker 5 (01:18:43):
I think the logical answer is that they are contenders.
I think that's the right logical answer. And I don't
know why. In my gut, I don't want to say
that you go to like my my gut and my
brain are on opposite sides when it.
Speaker 6 (01:18:57):
Comes to easy schedule things.
Speaker 3 (01:18:59):
That's a part of it.
Speaker 5 (01:19:00):
That is a part of it, and I'm just we
talked about the Bills, then that's a divisional game. I
don't know, but I guess I'll go logic here and say,
right now, contenders.
Speaker 10 (01:19:10):
All right, how about the Indianapolis Colts moont See? Do
you think they're true contenders or do you think they've
been pretending this whole season.
Speaker 5 (01:19:16):
I know they had a rough loss last week, but
did super rough get up for the Steelers on that one.
I really think that's an anomaly to the Colts. That's
going to be an outlier by the end of the season.
And I do think they have such a good offensive
plan with the strong O line and all that, that
they are contenders.
Speaker 18 (01:19:36):
I know you you want to talk about the gut
season and say, Daniel Jones is gonna like, listen, it's
disrespectful at this point on my part.
Speaker 1 (01:19:49):
I know it is, but I'm saying pretenders. It's disrespectful
on my part. They're better than I'm giving them credit for,
but I just don't know if they can come from behind.
Speaker 3 (01:19:57):
That's good, that's fair, all right.
Speaker 10 (01:19:59):
Next time, this was a team that early on in
the year we we thought they might have been one
of the best teams in football. They still might be.
But how about the Los Angeles Chargers? What do you
think contenders are pretenders?
Speaker 1 (01:20:12):
She's crying, Joe alt is this dark horse m VP?
Speaker 6 (01:20:19):
Okay, unreal.
Speaker 1 (01:20:20):
The difference between when he is on the field when
he's off the field is so stark. It's that they
were contenders. Now they are flatly pretending because that thing
is over with.
Speaker 3 (01:20:33):
Without of line are saying different things here.
Speaker 14 (01:20:35):
Let's just say that Chargers.
Speaker 6 (01:20:42):
Don't listening to Fox Sports.
Speaker 2 (01:20:45):
That's right, Martin Weiss.
Speaker 1 (01:20:46):
Mossis here on a Fox Sports Football Saturday.
Speaker 2 (01:20:51):
I tell you this all the time, but I pay
way too much attention.
Speaker 1 (01:20:55):
To player and uh at press conference. I'm listening to
every minute. One of these days, I'm gonna make a game.
Said or not said, like something better. We'll come up
with something better than that.
Speaker 6 (01:21:09):
Workshop it, but it just really I'm been doing the
cheapest ticket.
Speaker 3 (01:21:14):
You know what, we haven't been doing the cheapest ticket.
Speaker 1 (01:21:16):
It's unset away. That's fine. Uh, you live life forward,
but you learn it backwards. Said or not said?
Speaker 3 (01:21:24):
Mike McDaniel said that, No, I saw this one and
I know who said it.
Speaker 6 (01:21:29):
No surprise, it was Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 1 (01:21:31):
You live life forward, but you learned it backwards. I
think I could literally do Jalen Hurts or I have
to find something else funny like Covino and rich style,
like Jalen Hurts or Mike Tyson or something.
Speaker 6 (01:21:43):
Yeah, like Jalen Hurts or Plato.
Speaker 1 (01:21:46):
Right, yeah, exactly exactly. We'll figure something out.
Speaker 2 (01:21:49):
But I'm gonna I'm gonna bring that to Factports Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:21:52):
So get ready.
Speaker 3 (01:21:54):
Yeah, I like that. That's a great Yeah, it's a
good idea.
Speaker 1 (01:21:57):
All right, man, let's make some picks.
Speaker 6 (01:22:00):
All right. Now, let's update you guys from last week.
Speaker 2 (01:22:04):
Martin.
Speaker 6 (01:22:04):
You had a bit of a bounce back week here
four and one on the week.
Speaker 10 (01:22:07):
Nice job there, Monsey, you went two and three, but
on the season that brings you, guys are really close.
Speaker 6 (01:22:12):
Martin, you're at.
Speaker 10 (01:22:13):
Eighteen and eighteen, nice, perfectly five hundred. Let's uh average, It's.
Speaker 6 (01:22:18):
Like you're zero zero. It's fresh start.
Speaker 1 (01:22:20):
It's hard to fail be an average.
Speaker 10 (01:22:23):
And then Moncey you're at twenty and sixteen on the second.
All right, I gotta keep building.
Speaker 3 (01:22:28):
I know I'm slipping a little bit.
Speaker 10 (01:22:30):
Okay, but let's jump into this week's matchups. First up,
we have the London game, Falcons at Colts. I guess
it's kind of at cults, but it's at London for
real culture favored by six and a half points.
Speaker 6 (01:22:42):
Here. What do you think, Mancy?
Speaker 3 (01:22:43):
I hate international games. I feel like logic goes out
the window. Logic goes out the window. Mary, anything you
would you would look at you can't look at it.
They gotta get on a fly. They're going to a
different country.
Speaker 5 (01:22:57):
Digs don't go the way they're gonna suppose the go girl.
Speaker 3 (01:23:01):
Which is why I'm taking the Falcons to cover list.
Speaker 6 (01:23:04):
Also, I have to say Berlin, not London. That's what
it is. Yeah, Berlin, my mistake.
Speaker 1 (01:23:08):
Berlin.
Speaker 5 (01:23:08):
All right, Berlin see the probab beer beer and Brotworth saying.
Speaker 1 (01:23:13):
I'm going from London fog to Wienerschnitzel.
Speaker 6 (01:23:16):
Yeah, in that case is gonna be a two point swing,
and so.
Speaker 1 (01:23:20):
Yeah, I think I think wisitz will get you at
least a point and a half on the road. Uh,
I'm gonna go with the Colt because, like Manti said,
these games are topsy turvy upside down. We don't even
know what country they're playing and much less what city.
I'm just gonna take the team that is the better team,
all right.
Speaker 10 (01:23:36):
Next up, the Baltimore Ravens are going to Minnesota to
face the Vikings. The Ravens as the road team are
actually favored by four and a half points.
Speaker 6 (01:23:44):
Who you got, though, Martin, what do you.
Speaker 2 (01:23:45):
Think Ravens on the road in Minnesota.
Speaker 6 (01:23:51):
Playing against nine and his Vikings?
Speaker 1 (01:23:55):
You saying that is gonna make me pick them? You
say that's gonna make me pick the Ravens. Although I
walked here today it was like, the Ravens are not
gonna go undefeated, right, what are we talking about? Even
if Lamar played the whole year, they already have five
losses twelve and five would have been a great year.
They already have five losses. They're not gonna but they're
gonna win. They're gonna win this game. And because you
(01:24:16):
know what, nine cannot persist, like nine can't be a
thing that that is a thing that I have to
honor as a radio host.
Speaker 2 (01:24:24):
It can't give me the Ravens.
Speaker 5 (01:24:27):
I don't know, man, Minnesota's coming off a good win
against Detroit, and I think Brian Flores likes to really
mess with Lamar, and so I'm gonna say the Vikings cover.
Speaker 2 (01:24:39):
You had that scene of the Crime Game a few
years That's what.
Speaker 3 (01:24:41):
I'm saying in Miami, right, that was him.
Speaker 5 (01:24:44):
Yeah, I just think that he's going to disrupt Lamar's
flow in whatever way he can.
Speaker 3 (01:24:50):
I'm gonna take the Vikings to.
Speaker 6 (01:24:51):
Cover, all right.
Speaker 10 (01:24:52):
Next up, you guys previewed this game earlier in the show.
But the New England Patriots are going to Tampa Bay
to face the Buccaneers. It's the Tom Brady boll As
you build it, Martin. I like that the Bucks are
favored by two and a half points as the home team.
What do you think, Manci, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:25:09):
This is one of those ones where my heart and
my head say different things like, am I do I
want to give the edge to the Buccaneers just because
I like Baker Mayfield so much?
Speaker 3 (01:25:21):
When that seems like and I can't believe the Bucks
are favored. I can't believe they're favored.
Speaker 1 (01:25:26):
They're good at this when they make these lines like.
Speaker 19 (01:25:29):
What you're telling me that the Patriots are really good
and then the Bucks of all of these injuries, give me,
give me the Patriots to cover.
Speaker 1 (01:25:43):
I like this number at two and a half. I'll
take the Buccaneers here. All this team does is win
field goal games.
Speaker 2 (01:25:48):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (01:25:49):
They're like, we would rather not have a two score
leading the fourth quarter. In fact, I want to march
you down, have Baker Mayfield break six tackles and do a.
Speaker 2 (01:25:57):
Piro wet before getting a first down.
Speaker 1 (01:26:00):
I'm gonna go with Buccaneers here on a again gay
winning field goals.
Speaker 10 (01:26:03):
Well, all right, Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers are flying
here to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers. At
so far, Chargers are favored by two and a half
points at home, Martin, who you got?
Speaker 1 (01:26:15):
So I understand that this game is being played in
Los Angeles. I'll tell the joke that everybody else is
told this is really a Pittsburgh West game. I'm getting
two and a half points for the team that's sort
of on the road. I get they have to fly here,
but there'll be more terrible towels flying and so far
than anything else. And honestly, if the Steelers don't, if
(01:26:36):
the Steelers just let go of the rope, it's time
for everybody to go home. Yeah, it's time for Mike
to go. Like you, this is a muck win game,
a muck win game for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 3 (01:26:46):
I agree.
Speaker 5 (01:26:47):
I can't believe the Chargers are favored like I can't
with as we just talked about how big it is
for the Chargers that they lost Joe Alt.
Speaker 3 (01:26:55):
I don't, and the Steelers need to win. I'm taking
the I'm also to the Steelers to cover. I'm sorry, Jargers,
I'm sorry. I know. I'm just I'm being realistic with
this one here.
Speaker 2 (01:27:08):
Joe Al when that ankle went down, boy, it was
night and day.
Speaker 5 (01:27:12):
He got sacked immediately on the next play. Justin Herber
after Joe Alt went down immediately.
Speaker 6 (01:27:19):
Noo, Yeah, that's a tough No, it's tough one. It's tough,
all right.
Speaker 10 (01:27:22):
Last game here for you guys, though it's the the
Monday night game. You guys also previewed this one earlier
in the show. But the Philadelphia Eagles are going to
Lambeau to take on the Packers. Packers as the home team,
are favored by a point and a half. But who
you got, moncie, what do you think Eagles?
Speaker 3 (01:27:36):
No questions asked. I'm digging the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (01:27:39):
E A L e gs Eagles.
Speaker 3 (01:27:43):
Did you spell that right?
Speaker 1 (01:27:44):
No? I did that on purpose, so you.
Speaker 6 (01:27:47):
Remember the Philly mayor, right, alright, that's what it was.
Speaker 3 (01:27:50):
I was like, man, that is not how you spell.
Speaker 17 (01:27:53):
E A L.
Speaker 1 (01:27:56):
Egos.
Speaker 9 (01:27:57):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:27:58):
Yeah, I'll get to me. I would love my analysis
to be I get the better coach, better quarterback here.
I don't know if either one of those is true.
I just get the better team on the road, the
more consistent team. Give me the Eagles into two and
a half. No, I didn't spell that all right. Introduced
some atomic Dogs. I mean, I can't believe you were
(01:28:18):
going to ask us Saints Panthers, but just leave that
one off. Then let's go ahead to the atomic Dogs.
Speaker 6 (01:28:23):
If you want to bring the joke, Martin, bonus one.
Speaker 10 (01:28:27):
Remember the last time you did that, it got you
the extra wincheating.
Speaker 2 (01:28:32):
If there's something here that jumps out that.
Speaker 10 (01:28:36):
Jump all right, that's enough, all right, let's go to
atomic dogs. Quick update, Martin, yours hit last week Steelers
over Colts got you your first atomic dog win of
the year, Monci, Yours, Falcons over Patriots did not hit this.
See what you guys got this week?
Speaker 1 (01:28:51):
Back on the Falcons this week again, though in the cover,
I think Colts win. I got you.
Speaker 10 (01:28:57):
Yeah, just to to find atomic dogs, I realized we
should probably do a better job doing that. Atomic dogs
is an outright winner who is an underdog in.
Speaker 1 (01:29:06):
The uprightley, A team that wins outright, Moncie.
Speaker 3 (01:29:10):
I got a got a few, got one a couple
standing out.
Speaker 2 (01:29:13):
To Yeah, I got one that really jumps.
Speaker 1 (01:29:16):
Off the page.
Speaker 3 (01:29:17):
I got one too.
Speaker 1 (01:29:18):
Okay, you want to go first, Sure go.
Speaker 3 (01:29:20):
Sure, I'll go first. Why not call me crazy, call
me crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:29:25):
Crazy, but.
Speaker 3 (01:29:29):
Give me the forty nine ers to beat the Rams
at home.
Speaker 1 (01:29:31):
You know, I don't hate it. I don't hate it.
Speaker 3 (01:29:35):
They already did this year. They already did this year, and.
Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
A big rtr roof for radio moment.
Speaker 1 (01:29:44):
If Mac Jones sweeps the Los Angeles Rams, in the
words of Charles Barkley, it is time to have a conversation.
I will go for my atomic dog. I like the
forty nine ers, I wasn't gonna end up set there
were I really what this is one that is like
(01:30:09):
a classic updown spot. I'm not thinking like this seems
supposed to be done. Yeah, they'll probably just cover. But
the two that jump off to me right now, the
Giants plus three and a half and the Browns plus
two and a half. However, I work way too hard
and way too long to put my heart earned money
on Dylan Gabriel as a starter. So I'll go with
(01:30:32):
Jackson Dark and Brian day Ball and the New York
Giants getting their third win on the year against the
Chicago Bears, who are feeling really, really good.
Speaker 2 (01:30:42):
Right now, it feels like.
Speaker 1 (01:30:44):
It's about time for a little attitude adjustment, a little
comeback down the earth moment here, or Chicago's like a
real contender.
Speaker 5 (01:30:52):
You know, I get I hear you, but you're kind
of contradicting yourself earlier with Jackson darting the Giants.
Speaker 3 (01:30:59):
You were like, no, no.
Speaker 1 (01:31:02):
I didn't think he should be the Rookie of the
Year because when you say he turned their season around,
this team is still two and seven.
Speaker 2 (01:31:11):
They have won one game with Jackson Darting. If I'm right,
those one two.
Speaker 5 (01:31:16):
I like this pic for me, like in the sense
that you're not gonna get it, you know, I like it.
Speaker 3 (01:31:19):
It's cute, it's cute. It's one of those cute picks.
Speaker 1 (01:31:23):
You know, I'm married now, but prior to when I
wasn't married, I was out there, you know, in the streets, streets.
Speaker 2 (01:31:33):
The worst thing you could get is that's cute.
Speaker 1 (01:31:36):
That's cute, Like that's about the word. Like there's never
been a sign that a woman is not taking you seriously.
If she says something that you're doing is cute, like
you know she's for sure uninterested. Like your text is
like fourth in line, pal, if she says you're cute,
like that's real cute. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:31:56):
She probably left it on red before she responded, that's cute.
Speaker 1 (01:32:00):
Your fourth fifth in line, Like you're not you know,
in fact, you just might be an injured reserve. You
just might be on the I R and one team
in the NFL said that's cute to their quarterback. We'll
get to that in just a minute.
Speaker 2 (01:32:16):
Martin Wise, Monsey Blanos, Fox Sports.
Speaker 1 (01:32:17):
Radio, coming to your love for the Fox Sports Radio studios.
If you want to, can't follow us on Twitter and
join the show, let us know your takes. If you
got something you want to go ahead and express. Feel
free like Monty.
Speaker 3 (01:32:34):
Saying that's cute.
Speaker 1 (01:32:36):
With the Arizona Cardinals told Tyler Murray that's cute. You're
not happy, that's cute.
Speaker 2 (01:32:43):
That's cut your foot.
Speaker 3 (01:32:44):
That's that's cute. We don't care.
Speaker 1 (01:32:46):
I'm interested to know what fine comes down, if any,
because when Lamar Jackson was deemed a full participant in
practice on Friday turned out to be a little funny business.
John Harby was gonna come out and apologize.
Speaker 2 (01:32:59):
Someone and so forth. I was here, MONSI I reported it.
Speaker 1 (01:33:05):
Kyler Murray was questionable with an opportunity to play and
was supposed to have certain packages. Yeah, and then all
of a sudden he.
Speaker 15 (01:33:14):
Goes from questionable to out from out to age the
reserve what he was supposed to work.
Speaker 2 (01:33:20):
Two days ago.
Speaker 1 (01:33:22):
Something's going on an arizonta. So I got to.
Speaker 5 (01:33:25):
Say, yeah, it was that they realized Jacoby Brissett can
move the ball a lot easier than Kyler Murray.
Speaker 3 (01:33:31):
He actually throws the ball to Marvin Harrison Junior.
Speaker 1 (01:33:34):
That to me is the most damning thing. That's the
right you look at the status of Marvin Harrison Jr.
And Travi Dry with Jacoby Brissette and without Jacoby Brissette,
and Jacoby Brissette all due respect is a straight up
regular guy. He's not. He's just regular dude. Been in
the league for a long time, so he knows coverages,
(01:33:54):
should be able to know what the defense is doing.
But like, if Jacoby Brissett a starting quarterback, you're looking
to upgrade your starting quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:34:02):
Yeah, but right now he's doing the job.
Speaker 5 (01:34:04):
And we've seen this before, right with like backup quarterbacks
rising to the occasion.
Speaker 3 (01:34:09):
It's just the obvious thing. It's like, how have you
not utilized Kyler Murray?
Speaker 5 (01:34:13):
How have you not utilized Marvin Harrison Junior more to
your disposal to make you better. We just saw Joe
Flacco throw the ball to Jamar Chase one hundred and
seventeen times and he didn't care.
Speaker 3 (01:34:23):
He didn't care.
Speaker 2 (01:34:24):
Pretty much accurate you know what I'm saying, and so like.
Speaker 3 (01:34:28):
When you have a guy like that, you give him
the ball.
Speaker 5 (01:34:31):
Well, I think that I might be wrong, but I
think it was six catches for mar for Marv and
it was like a career.
Speaker 3 (01:34:40):
High, right, like are you freaking kidding me?
Speaker 1 (01:34:44):
Why don't you just ran in place? Saw?
Speaker 2 (01:34:46):
You know, like that was a two stomp? Are you kidding?
Because like six catches is a good half, not a
good game.
Speaker 6 (01:34:53):
It was seven catches, so so so much Worre.
Speaker 2 (01:34:57):
Seven catches was the career high.
Speaker 1 (01:34:59):
But he tied it into that happen is correct.
Speaker 3 (01:35:02):
Yes it was.
Speaker 5 (01:35:03):
It was stupid when you see that, when you're like
how and so yeah, the Cardinals quickly were like, all right, well,
I guess you're going to I R because we just
don't want to even worry about.
Speaker 3 (01:35:12):
You for four more weeks at least.
Speaker 1 (01:35:14):
And so night, I have a you know, again, not reporting,
just got a feeling Kyler Murray will be on a
different team.
Speaker 2 (01:35:21):
Maybe yeah, coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:35:22):
If he's lucky, I mean he'll he'll definitely be on
a different team. When you think it's think about some
of the quarterbacks starting the NFL. To think of Kyler Murray.
He gonna be playing somewhere.
Speaker 3 (01:35:30):
He's gonna be playing.
Speaker 2 (01:35:31):
But I bet you these.
Speaker 1 (01:35:32):
Three guys will be playing somewhere, maybe, just maybe for
the Arizona Cardinals.
Speaker 2 (01:35:36):
Let's hear a month Saturday standouts.
Speaker 3 (01:35:38):
Nice. All right, We're gonna start with the QB today.
Let's go.
Speaker 1 (01:35:44):
Fake on the handoff Chamberliss runs left throws.
Speaker 6 (01:35:47):
It's tipped up in the air.
Speaker 20 (01:35:48):
And it almost picked off and then deflected into the
hands are stripling l Watkins rather Watkins for the touchdown.
It was deflected, then popped up and caught in the
end zone. It's twenty to that thing, old man.
Speaker 5 (01:36:02):
Yeah, David Kellum from Learfield on that call, Chambliss missed
how many throws you think today, Martin?
Speaker 1 (01:36:07):
I know that he missed. Was he twenty seven to
thirty three?
Speaker 3 (01:36:11):
Twenty nine of thirty three?
Speaker 5 (01:36:13):
So for miss throws three hundred and thirty three yards
three touchdowns. The Rebels shut out the Citadel, not the
outlet shop forty five zero. They improved to nine and one.
Not too shabby of a day, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:36:25):
NUMAA two stocked in hands it off room.
Speaker 20 (01:36:28):
For Fraser and he's inside of the forty that's a
fut race.
Speaker 1 (01:36:32):
Fraser at the ten.
Speaker 20 (01:36:34):
Kid just balanced dozen touch out of bounds and Scars
touchdown Georgia.
Speaker 5 (01:36:41):
ESPN on the call there, Yeah, Nate Fraser had twelve
carries for one hundred and eighty one yards and a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (01:36:47):
Will absolutely get it done.
Speaker 5 (01:36:49):
Bulldogs cruise pass Mississippi State forty one to twenty one.
Georgia improves to eight and a one, coming in at
number three.
Speaker 1 (01:36:56):
Who think you are rabbit fast as a family?
Speaker 11 (01:36:57):
I said, if you have a home here, maybe Hey,
that defense getting.
Speaker 1 (01:37:01):
After back by the Scots and thuzand interception picked off
by Prodriguez and Jay Rodd is a column fright back
of the hottest one candidate around here. He makes a
big pay the first take away by this.
Speaker 5 (01:37:14):
Defect today ESPN TV there as well. Jacob Rodriguez, Jay
Rod is what they said. I love that linebacker for
Texas Tech. He did not just only have an interception,
he also had fourteen tackles. Today, Red Raiders hand by
you their first loss of the season with a dominant
twenty nine to seven win.
Speaker 3 (01:37:31):
Texas Tech improves to nine and one. Heisman candidate there.
Speaker 2 (01:37:34):
Texas Tech is really, really good.
Speaker 3 (01:37:37):
It really is.
Speaker 1 (01:37:38):
They're really really good.
Speaker 3 (01:37:39):
We got one more standout that we have to talk about.
Speaker 1 (01:37:42):
Well, bendonzas.
Speaker 5 (01:37:57):
Everyone involved in this play with Ace stand out Fox
to be on the call. That catch, I mean, Omark
Cooper had six catches thirty two yards on that.
Speaker 3 (01:38:05):
Touchdown was insane. We already talked about it.
Speaker 5 (01:38:09):
Indiana stays undefeated, beating Penn State twenty seven to twenty four.
Speaker 3 (01:38:14):
They're ten and O.
Speaker 2 (01:38:15):
They're ten of no and one.
Speaker 1 (01:38:17):
Of the best pregame interviews you will ever hear, Jenny
Taff says Indiana's never won here.
Speaker 2 (01:38:22):
Signetty, We've never played here. Oh fired up boy?
Speaker 1 (01:38:27):
What I'll mean, come on man, like seriously seriously because
he's like, I get your point, but irrelevant. Yeah, doesn't matter.
We're gonna come out here. We're gonna be violently to
kick their ass. I'm paraphrasing, but that's what he said.
And I'll tell you what. Credit to those kids at
Penn State because this was one of those we have
an opportunity to write the narrative and so on and
(01:38:47):
so forth, and they didn't, but they put out good tape.
Because a lot of those kids are going to the pros.
Speaker 3 (01:38:51):
No give it up. I was not surprised though, that
Penn State came out like.
Speaker 5 (01:38:55):
That, right, because this was a perfect opportunity, like you said,
to kind of just be like, no, no, we are
a good team.
Speaker 3 (01:39:00):
We still are a good team despite being underwhelming.
Speaker 1 (01:39:05):
Got a little bit of shakeup atop the ACC with
some of the results that just came through. Let's get
to Steve to Sega a little bit early here because
uh as Jason as bucket fitcher calling on one of
the automatic bin Steelers just lost in Virginia.
Speaker 12 (01:39:22):
And let's not forget the Gus Johnson call a year
ago Michigan at Ohio State.
Speaker 1 (01:39:27):
Warren look eg accepted. Unbelievable, so good. That was the
moment in the game.
Speaker 2 (01:39:37):
I thought that Michigan was going to.
Speaker 1 (01:39:39):
Lose, and then Ohio they went three and out and
I was like, wait a minute, no, we got this.
Speaker 12 (01:39:43):
By the way, you've had a segment on this Saturday
show of what's the most expensive ticket in the NFL
this weekend? Sure are you aware of what's the most
expensive ticket in the NFL this weekend?
Speaker 1 (01:39:52):
The most expensive.
Speaker 17 (01:39:54):
Because you mentioned this game, it's a seven and two
team at a six and two team tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:40:00):
Oh is it you got a guess Mont?
Speaker 1 (01:40:04):
See? Is it in Berlin?
Speaker 3 (01:40:05):
I was gonna say the Berlin game.
Speaker 12 (01:40:06):
No, it's the Tampa Bay hosting the game. Yeah, tam
Brady's two teams. The cheapest seat is over two hundred
and fifty bucks. A close second is the Sunday night
game you reference with the Chargers hosting the Steelers, which
tells me the visiting fans buying up and driving the prices.
You cannot find any seat in the lower bowl in
(01:40:27):
LA for Tomorrow night for under three hundred bucks. Whoa yeah,
and the upper levels at least two twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:40:32):
I know in La, we most of us are.
Speaker 1 (01:40:33):
We all live in apartments, and my two apartments ago,
my neighbors sauld have went on every side above and
left and right, all Steelers fans. And I know because
I would be streaming the game a little bit late,
and they would a lot of times were playing on
that late four o'clock window, so I would hear what
happened before I would hear the three of them collectively.
Ah or no.
Speaker 12 (01:40:53):
We had an anchor here. It was a lifelong Steeler
fan and is married to a Chargers season ticket holder,
and we'll be there. They're probably wearing Steelers gear tomorrow night.
It will be nothing like, by the way, a Sunday
night game with Steelers at Chargers. You remember the first
three years when the Chargers after moving to LA played
in the soccer stadium where the LA Galaxy.
Speaker 3 (01:41:14):
I love that stadium.
Speaker 17 (01:41:15):
It was superb fell football now twenty five thousand seat stadium,
it was superb. Unfortunately, that meant that they doubled the
prices on the tickets, which is just asking the Chargers
season ticket people to sell off a game or two
to help pay for their season. So when the Steelers visited, yikes,
it was eighty percent Steelers fans in at twenty five.
Speaker 6 (01:41:36):
It's not going to be that tomorrow night.
Speaker 12 (01:41:38):
But Steelers fans are everywhere, and like Niners fans are
everywhere or you know, Cowboys, it's just it's quite the
national brand and it will be on display. Let's get
to college football tonight. Is We've got Notre Dame in
the snow, now tenth ranked and leading Navy forty nine
to ten with two minutes to go, ten minutes left
at fourth ranked Alabama, the Tide leading LSU seventeen to nine.
(01:42:03):
Wake Forest has won at fourteenth ranked Virginia sixteen to
nine final seconds of regulation. At fifteenth ranked Louisville, it's
twenty three all col at Louisville. Clemson at home has
beaten Florida States twenty four to ten seminoles with just
one conference win this year. Kentucky at home is ripping
(01:42:23):
the Florida Gators with a couple minutes left, thirty eight
to seven on Fox TV. Nebraska has scored again. They're
ahead at UCLA twenty one to seven late in the
second quarter, and the late games starting in a half
an hour will have San Diego State at Hawaii. Already
wins for Ohio State and Texas A and M wins
for Georgia and Ole Miss. In the top ten, Number
(01:42:43):
two Indiana is ten and zero after a victory at
Penn State twenty seven to twenty four on a late
touchdown pass. Texas Tech dominated its top ten game against
BYU at home. Texas Tech led twenty six to nothing
in the fourth quarter twenty nine to seven the final.
Ninth ranked Oregon won and the Rain at Iowa eighteen
sixteen on a field goal in the final seconds. The
(01:43:03):
Ducks scored on a safety early in the game after
a bad snap on a pund Oregon wins by two.
Sixteenth ranked Vanderbilt was down to Auburn seventeen to three
late in the first half and still beat him in overtime.
Forty five thirty eight victories for Miami and Wisconsin. The
Badgers at home beat number twenty three Washington thirteen to ten.
College hoops number fifteen Alabama a winner at number five
(01:43:26):
Saint John's NBA victories for Philadelphia, Dallas, and Atlanta, which
ended the Lakers five game winning streak one twenty two
to one O two. Austin Reeves of LA still out
with the strang groin. Former coach Richie Atibadu passed away
at the age of eighty seven. He had NBA jobs
in Detroit, Dallas, and Orlando, NHL wins for Montreal and Carolina,
(01:43:47):
and a reminder of the big Major League Baseball Award
results come out next week, starting with Rookies of the
Year on Monday.
Speaker 1 (01:43:53):

Speaker 1 (01:44:30):
I mean, I mean, I get it.
Speaker 3 (01:44:31):
Yeah, I get it.
Speaker 1 (01:44:33):
Like that's what we do, We review football players. So
I guess actually it's pretty fair.
Speaker 3 (01:44:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:44:37):
So if you think I also am terrible and we'll
never throw a four hundre jars in the NFL game,
put it right down on YouTube. Co All right, let's
go ahead and kick it over to our next guest,
j D. Pakel on three College Football Insider. He's at
the Hard Count on YouTube and it's all over social media.
J D Paul watching a lot of weather this weekend
(01:45:01):
around America. Jad is in the college football landscape and
the place I want to start is with the Oregon
Ducks and the Iowa Hawkeyes, because that game was a
game like wait a minute, I've seen bad weather, and
I will ruin a lot of seasons out on Oregon
was up next.
Speaker 11 (01:45:18):
It felt that way the internet. I mean, even going
into that game without the weather, you're looking at it
when you're like, hey man, that's a good defense. That's
a tough place to play. I think if Indiana some
fits like I don't leave that game thinking anything less
of Oregon. I actually just think I was who we
thought they were the whole time, and Oregon found a
way to win when they didn't have their fastball, which
(01:45:40):
honestly this season of all the seasons, like you got
to be able to throw something off the man when
you don't have a hundred, and that's what's going to
take to a national championship. Not saying that's Oregon, but
that keeps from the race.
Speaker 5 (01:45:52):
Let's move on to the match of the day here
between Penn State and Indiana. Fernando Mendoza did he just
win the Heisman with that drive in the fourth quarter
and of course the catch by oh Mark Cooper Junior.
Speaker 3 (01:46:06):
I could not believe it. What does this mean for Indiana?
Speaker 11 (01:46:10):
Well, first of all, that's the first time I've heard
Gus Johnson like like like like wither away a year. Yeah,
Like it was so awesome. And you hear his voice fainting,
You're like, he just he just pass out, like you Okay,
what's happening? So one, the call in itself was electrifying.
To answer your question, I think it's really hard to
(01:46:32):
win the Heisman this early in November. I think we've
seen it come down to conference title weekend and rivalry weekend.
But I do think he put himself in the driver's seat.
I think if Indiana rolls into Indianapolis and plays the
Ohio State for the Big Ten title and you get
some more Fernando Mendosa dimes and you get an electrifying
press cops from him after the game, then I think
(01:46:53):
he's got locked up. But still a lot of runway now.
But he's definitely a good spot now.
Speaker 1 (01:46:59):
JD.
Speaker 2 (01:47:01):
I saw today.
Speaker 1 (01:47:03):
DJ Lagway hit the bench, Gussa, Garrett Nusmayer hit the bench,
And I'm of the beliefs that at fars Manning didn't
have Warby Parker and Viory as his main two advertisings,
he might also hit the bench in today's college football
that is more and more like the NFL than ever.
Speaker 2 (01:47:22):
Are we seeing? Are?
Speaker 1 (01:47:23):
Do you? Do you foresee like some of these massive
nil deals before you step foot on the field. Like
I bet all three of those guys I just talked
about would rather have Fernando Mendoza playing quarterback for them
as opposed to the guy that have playing quarterback for them.
And Fernando Mendouza was playing college football last year. Do
you see what I'm saying?
Speaker 11 (01:47:44):
They would trade him tomorrow. They would trade him tomorrow.
They'll probably trade their whole quarterback room for Brenana Mendoza tomorrow.
Something interesting to highlight Martin and what you just mentioned.
I think both of those situations are in some way,
shape or form a byproduct of the interim head coach
of it all. I mean, you got Billy Gonzales in
at Florida, you got Frank Wilson to LSU, and so
(01:48:05):
I think there's something to be said for like, hey,
this ship is already taking on water, Like let's try
something else here. It can't get too much worse. The
move during the LSU game is interesting to me because
that game is still very much so a winnable game
for analyssy. Only down eightis we're on the phone right now.
So the Florida thing I get honestly, Martin, I think
that the nil deal situation with lag I mean, I
(01:48:28):
don't know exactly what he's making. I'm sure he's doing
all right for himself, better than I was doing his
agent in college. I wonder if that move wouldn't have
been made earlier in the season for what you just mentioned. Now,
there's a lot of things with he was dinged up,
and you know, Florida, I don't know if they wanted
to turn it over to a freshman at that point
in the year with what they still thought they could accomplish.
(01:48:48):
So my take there is, I think everything's different, but
I do think you're onto it in the sense of
following the money leads to at least he's gonna start
an opening day and probably bind you some time there.
Speaker 5 (01:49:00):
So BYU suffered their first loss today to Texas Tech,
who their defense was crazy. I think BYU crossed into
Texas Tech territory.
Speaker 3 (01:49:09):
Maybe twice in this game today.
Speaker 5 (01:49:12):
Texas Tech, how would they compete against an Ohio State
against in Indiana.
Speaker 3 (01:49:18):
You think so.
Speaker 11 (01:49:20):
I've been saying this since I want to say, mid September.
I don't think when you didn't need qualifiers for Texas Tech,
when we talk about how good they are, I really don't.
I think they're not just good for the Big Twelve
or good for what Texas Tech has been in the past.
Like I think they would probably be a score underdog
at a neutral site against in Ohio State. Maybe it
(01:49:41):
gets builed up to like nine and a half, But
like I think Texas Tech could hang with them, I
really do. I think that front seveny league. I think
if that quarterback can stay healthy, they have such a
depth in the weaponry, like Texas Tech is national title
level good in my opinion. Now, a lot of that
goes in to what I just said, quarterbacks staying healthy
(01:50:02):
in the past, that you draw when you make the
playoff at I think Texas Tech is phenomenal, and if
they weren't in the Big Twelve Conference, I think a
lot of people will talk about them differently.
Speaker 1 (01:50:12):
So Vanderbilt had a fight to the finish today, going
in overtime against Auburn, who again another interim head coach
As you freeze finally will never be laid for his
tea times again. But I just wonder though in the
in the aspect we are now right, Vanderbilt has had
they have two conference losses with overtime with Auburn, and
(01:50:35):
I'm watching Virginia, who prior to you know, twenty minutes ago,
was undefeated. There, Virginia is locked into the playoff if
things stay true today, Vanderbilt has got a wiggle.
Speaker 2 (01:50:45):
What do you make of the kind of like the
setup of the playoff to.
Speaker 1 (01:50:48):
Where we're getting like eighth, Like I don't think Virginia
is better than Vanderbilt.
Speaker 11 (01:50:53):
Yeah, I mean that was That's been my largest scribe
since this whole playoff deal started. It's like, I'd love
for us to record to reward teams, not conferences. Like
if we got four teams from the ACC that deserve
to be in let's do it, dude. Let's get freaking
Georgia Tech in there, Let's get Louisville and there, let's
get let's get all the aety team. But if it's
not a matter of the conference being stacked with good teams,
(01:51:16):
and I don't really want to take the best team
from a conference that we're all just kind of side
eyeing and saying, yeah, you're in here because you win
your conference. But guess what, buddy, you got to play
Ohio State here in round two. You're about to get
whooped up on. Like, I think the fact they went
away from auto buys was a step in the right direction.
But yeah, I mean, if so farbia for me to
(01:51:36):
say what can or can't happen in college football. But
I'm of the opinion that as this thing evolves, we're
going to see the SEC and the Big Ten make
sure they get theirs when it comes to the auto bits.
Speaker 1 (01:51:49):
Oh yeah, especially when you consider the dark, shady powers
that be behind everything is running up. I'll let you
know it's the TV companies. JD. Thanks for joining us,
my friend. As we're shitting here on the college is wrapping.
Speaker 2 (01:52:02):
Up a little bit. Man, We're getting close. It's getting
late early for some teams.
Speaker 11 (01:52:07):
Take it in, Take it all in, y'all. Appreciate you guys.
Speaker 2 (01:52:10):
I'm enjoying it immensely.
Speaker 13 (01:52:11):
Have one.
Speaker 2 (01:52:12):
Thank you man, thanks for joining us.
Speaker 1 (01:52:14):
And uh, you know, mind see, there are several strategies
to win in the NBA. One team said we're gonna
find the oldest, most injured.
Speaker 2 (01:52:30):
Set that we can find and see if it works.
Speaker 1 (01:52:32):
We'll get to them in just a minute.
Speaker 3 (01:52:34):
I don't like you.
Speaker 6 (01:52:38):
Box Sports.
Speaker 1 (01:52:44):
Coming to your life from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
No scrubs here, California, cal Berkeley with an upset of Louisville,
fifteen eighty in the nation, drops a game. Steve de
Seger will have that for you at the top of
the hour, and Erritoris and Jason Martin will break down.
Speaker 2 (01:53:03):
Everything for you.
Speaker 1 (01:53:05):
I mean some real issues in the ACC, which many
people would say Monci is the Conference of scrubs.
Speaker 2 (01:53:12):
When you consider the Big ten and.
Speaker 1 (01:53:14):
The SEC, the teams the top of the ACC, the
Louisvilles of the world, the Virginia's of the world. They're
hanging out on the side of the passenger ride. Do
you know what I'm saying? Like that?
Speaker 3 (01:53:25):
You know they can't get no love? Bit Tea, you
know what I mean speaking of who can't get no love?
Speaker 1 (01:53:32):
Listen. I'm normally really really good with names. I pride
myself on being good with names. Col's quarterback, no shot.
Speaker 10 (01:53:40):
Jaron Keyahway, Sagapol, well done.
Speaker 2 (01:53:44):
I'm saying like like I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:53:46):
Like reading it like excuse, like we were.
Speaker 1 (01:53:48):
Talking about Trinity at Chamberlass earlier, right, I was like,
I'm pretty sure it's Chamberless just by looking at it,
I can pretty much spot it. Looking at that, I
was like, and.
Speaker 3 (01:53:56):
I think it's Chambliss by the way.
Speaker 1 (01:53:58):
Right, oh for two.
Speaker 2 (01:53:59):
But I was looking at this like, you know, Lefty,
he's got it.
Speaker 6 (01:54:03):
He's a five star too. He's really good.
Speaker 1 (01:54:05):
So this kid, correct me, you probably know this by Ian.
He went to Oregon for like three weeks.
Speaker 10 (01:54:13):
Right, So he was committed to CAL and then there
was some camp that he was at and he Blue
Scouts away. They were like, who is this kid? They
made him a five star? Oregon you know, got turned
on to him. I don't know, maybe they'd already been
pursuing him before he flipped to Oregon, and this was
after he'd been made a five star. And then it
was like, yeah, he was committed to them for like
a few weeks or something, and then he flipped back
(01:54:35):
to Cal and now he's at Calah.
Speaker 1 (01:54:37):
I remember being a thing like again, the name is
very recognizable because I saw it and I was like,
they reminded you of me of seeing Iam Aliaba for
the first time, It's like, Wow, I.
Speaker 2 (01:54:49):
Wonder if this kid is gonna be a guy, because if.
Speaker 1 (01:54:52):
So, I'm gonna like what he saw Tuloa all right,
he started quarterback in Alabama. I probably gonna have to
know this.
Speaker 3 (01:54:59):
Yeah, that was another one. Another one.
Speaker 1 (01:55:03):
Auto correct gets me with that one. The spelling of
the last name.
Speaker 10 (01:55:07):
My aunted to compo young La.
Speaker 1 (01:55:11):
Luckily he fell off a bit.
Speaker 6 (01:55:13):
Well, his brothers might be in the draft this year.
We'll see.
Speaker 2 (01:55:16):
Uh, his brother's good. His brother's really good. Matteo you the.
Speaker 1 (01:55:23):
Ed Drusser.
Speaker 2 (01:55:24):
I saw him play in high school. I saw Hi
play at John Bosco.
Speaker 1 (01:55:27):
Yeah, every so often I see I'll go and catch
out a little high school football right here. And in fact,
remember last week we were watching Nebraska and Rayola got
hurt and I said I'd seen t J lat play
in high school Orange Lutheroran. It hit me one year
because I've been in this slot for like, you know,
(01:55:47):
three or four years, so I've seen the Heisman winner.
I've been all in the air during the ceremony and
it was Bryce Young, c J. Stroud, and I forget
who else was up there at the.
Speaker 2 (01:55:58):
Time, but all a quarterback.
Speaker 21 (01:56:00):
We're from southern California, and so I'm like, well, I
could go buy a ticket to like I think CJ
CJ with the Rancho Kucomonga. Realistically, I could go buy
a ticket and watch that game if I wanted to,
you know.
Speaker 3 (01:56:19):
So I was like, you know what, I'm gonna go,
not just yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:56:24):
You know, I'll say this being in a high school
football game as like with no attachment. You know, my
kids aren't playing, right, you know what I'm saying. But
I'm for sure in the parents section because I'm definitely
not a kid, like you know what I'm saying, Like
I'm not and I'm there by my right. I'm not
a student, right, so I'm there by myself. But it's
like the dynamics fascinating. First of all, did you know
(01:56:47):
that every kid, it feels like I'm just seventeen in
the Los Angeles area, knows every single word to the
song Loved by Keisha Cole.
Speaker 3 (01:56:54):
I know every single words to the song Lovey.
Speaker 1 (01:56:57):
That's my theory. Why because everybody our age had kids
and so now that's the song that they play like
Sunday morning when it's time to clean. I used to
think that uh was a bad right, And so they
start playing this song and it's like like they hear
(01:57:17):
it and it's like, damn, it's time to clean the
toilet again. You know what I'm saying. Damn, it's lawn again,
like Saturday morning chores.
Speaker 3 (01:57:24):
That's what we call a plancha song in Costa Rica.
Speaker 5 (01:57:27):
Like a planchat is ironing, right, So like when I
was little, there's songs that like, oh, it's a plancha song.
My mom would be irony and I would hear this
song in the background at a planta song.
Speaker 1 (01:57:37):
There you go, the more you know, because they played this,
I mean, there was a delay in the game. A
guy gotten hurt and it was pretty they had ended
up going you know, will They took him to the
hospital after the game. He turned out to be fine,
But so there was a delay of like a twenty
minute period and at one of the points that DJ
starts playing Keisha Cole and I'm telling you, just fifty kids,
(01:58:00):
it's in pajama pants, swaying back and forth, talking.
Speaker 5 (01:58:04):
About I haven't heard it in so long, and I
bet you I could, like if you put I could
probably sing it without realizing that I still know the
song so well.
Speaker 2 (01:58:13):
It was just like, wow, so much going on here.
So much going on here is cheerleaders, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:58:21):
What I'm saying. So it's like you'll just be watching
the game, and also on the corner your eye, a
small little girl will fly up into the.
Speaker 5 (01:58:28):
Air and like that maybe flying, you know, maybe flying,
And it's like it's very much like when you I
think you said you went to one of those games
at the Chargers when they were playing at the Dignity Help.
Speaker 3 (01:58:37):
Yes, yes, I went to many of them.
Speaker 1 (01:58:39):
I went to a UFL game there, okay, right, or
XFL whatever, But it's like you're that close. So it's like,
you know, I was just not the same level of
football that you see in the NFL and college. But MASI,
it's like watching ball. It is like watching ball, and
then too like it's high level ball out here out
of California, like starting quarterbacks in the NFL, which needs
(01:59:02):
starting quarterbacks college football, you know, so Friday Night Lights,
I'm a fan.
Speaker 3 (01:59:10):
Yeah, such a good song.
Speaker 2 (01:59:12):
It's really a good song. However, Tisha Baby, we got
work on our self.
Speaker 1 (01:59:18):
Steve.
Speaker 2 (01:59:19):
I used to think, like who's.
Speaker 1 (01:59:21):
Out here talk about I used to think I wasn't fine.
Speaker 2 (01:59:23):
Enough to think like she's still doing it now.
Speaker 1 (01:59:27):
I had all the money in the world.
Speaker 15 (01:59:29):
That's you gotta ask why you gotta make a tone
with the man in the mirror or the woman in
the mirror.
Speaker 1 (01:59:35):
In this case, you got you.
Speaker 2 (01:59:39):
It's okay, baby, You're gonna find better out there. You
gonna find better.
Speaker 1 (01:59:46):
It's a big world.
Speaker 2 (01:59:47):
It's a big world.
Speaker 5 (01:59:49):
What I really like is that Martin got super distracted
and did not bring up the Clippers, which was what
he wanted to talk about. So you got distract this
start talking about high school football. And notice I just
let him keep going because I was like, great, the
last we have to talk about the Clippers.
Speaker 3 (02:00:03):
Better for me.
Speaker 1 (02:00:04):
That's because listen if the parents of the kids of
the Clippers, they don't even know that song they singing.
Luther vandros Still Territories and Jason Marten have all the
college football wrap it up for you up next.
