Speaker 3 (00:33):
Guys, you know what that smells like?

Speaker 1 (00:34):

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Smells like football?

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Baby drinking in man like football. We don't get that.

Rookies reported today in Baltimore, first team to start up
camp for the NFL. They'll have veterans joining them next week.
The Texans will be the first full team to report
July seventeenth.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
You know what that means? Football is bad? Yes, sir
as lcooj once sung and the famous eighties high school
football movie Wildcats with Goldie Hahn, Wesley Snipes, Woody Harrelson.
It's the story of kings better than diamond rings. That's

(01:17):
why we love to say football. Wow. Okay, if you
guys haven't seen that movie, go check out that eighties
the best high school football movie ever made. And that Yes,
that's over Friday Night Lights and what was the other
Varsity Blues? This movie is classic and great. But yes,
I told you guys two weeks ago it is football season.

(01:38):
You guys made fun of me. It's football season.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Let's go. And you had a special.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Topic you want to use the t off football season
because college football starting even the Twitter.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yes, well, bleacher Report, who I love and respect to Steve.
I just talked to him in the hallway. He's gonna
jump in on this too. But I love when things
really get ratchet up. And the first thing we always
get when football season is gonna start is these lists.
Top list of all time, the top list of all time.
That and Bleacher Report put out its top thirty all
time college football players. And I didn't have a name

(02:09):
problem with most of the names on the list. I
just had a major problem with where a lot of
these guys were slotted. And if Mark, would you like
me to just come just dive right in and just
dig right into it. Better do your best. Michael Phelps press,
all right, he oh eight gold medals. Here we go, Hey,
number one. I totally agree with it's herschel Walker. I
don't have a problem with herschel Walker being number one.

(02:31):
I'm old enough to remember where herschel Walker was just
tearing through the SEC and tearing through the nation as
a running back. Every Saturday, you were just waiting for
the herschel Walker highlight because he was a man among boys,
the way he ran the football, the way he got
Georgia to their last national championship before Kirby Smart came in.

(02:53):
And I won the national championship at number two. I
hated to see this, but I understand it. They had
Argie griff number two, the fame Ohio State running back.
But he won two Heismans. He won back to back Heisman's.
He's the only guy in the history of college football
over one hundred years to win two Heismen. And then
the less starts to get real jargon on. And I

(03:15):
just got some notes here that I jotted down. When
I had a bunch of notes, I jotted down. The
first one that popped out of my eye was Tim
Tebow at number nine. I don't think I can name
nine football players better than Tim Tebow. Yeah you don't.
I don't. Wow, Okay, I just thought that was a
little too high for Tim Tebow. When I see guys

(03:35):
like OJ Simpson at sixteen, Ricky Williams at seventeen. The
biggest gripe I have with the list is Charles Woodson
at twenty five. Now, I know most of you're gonna
be like, Okay, here goes VJ on his Michigan rant. Yeah, listen,
this ain't got nothing to do with that. This is
the simple fact that since the man walked on to
campus at Michigan, he was touted to be the next

(03:58):
great college football player. If you guys don't know his history, freebute, Ohio.
He was mister football in high school, his junior and
his senior year, gets recruited to Michigan. The only defensive
player to win the Heisman. Not only does he win
the Heisman, was the national championship. Not only is it
wasn't a national championship in that season. For the Heisman,
you guys remember who he beat out. He been out

(04:18):
a gentleman by the name of Peyton Manny, who thought
he had it sold up. The last four that were
there the four finals was Peyton, Mandy Ryan Leeve. We
know Ryan Leef story had a great year with Michael
black Is running back and he had those receivers at
Washington State and it had a Cinderella year and went
to the Rose Ball and lost to Charles Woodson. And
then also Randy Moss was also a finalist there. Marshall
I believe went thirteen to zer. Quarterback was Chad Pitts

(04:40):
and Randy Moss. You know, put up some great numbers
that year. But then you see a guy like Ron
Daan Ron Dane is voted over Charles Woodson, Bo Jackson
at number nineteen. Also thought Tony dorse Set was a
little low at eighteen, and also too, where's Desmond Howard?
How's Usman Howard not in the top thirty? Play special

(05:02):
teams play receiver won the Heisman, had the most prolific
college football punt return up until that time in history,
with the most prolific call by rested piece, mister Keith Jackson.
Hello Heisman, and he hits the Heisman in the end
zone against Ohio State. Quick tidbit for you, if you
guys remember his was a seventy eight yard return. I

(05:24):
believe Charles Woodson had an eighty two yard per return,
same game, same hash, mark up the same sideline as
Desmond Howard. I mean, how poet like it rights itself right.
Some other notes that I have here, Randy Moss. I
don't mind Randy Moss on the list, but then I
think about, Okay, he had one good year at Marshall,
and I just went through history and just looked at
some other guys. How was Larry Fitzgerald behind Randy Moss

(05:48):
not the list? Even a Marii Cooper he had more
yards that one season. Brandy Moss had sixteen forty seven,
Amary Cooper had seventeen to twenty seven. And then also
Davonte Smith eighteen fifty six, won a Natty, won the
National Championship, the national champion, and won the Heisman. So
those are just some of the quick notes that looking
at this list. Also too offensive. Lineman Orlando Pace, I

(06:08):
got no problem, he was a monster. But where's Anthony
Munioz out of the USC on this list? You got
one lineman, you got one represented from Michigan and my
last one. I like Prime. I love coach Prime. I'm
all Colorado. I'm pulling for him. I loved them all
through his career. But he's twelve Charles woods is twenty five.
That's a thirteen spot difference. I had a major problem

(06:30):
with that. Dion was the guy, but Charles Woodson did
it on both sides of the ball, and then once
again Charles Woodson walked away with the Heisman. So those
are just some of the quick notes that I went through.
Last one, Colt McCoy made this list. How to hell
Colt McCoy make this list over Charlie Ward. Charlie Warld
won a national championship and won a Heisman. It was
just as prolific as a quarterback before you could just
throw the ball every down as Colt McCoy was. So

(06:51):
those were some of my gripes. Also about this list
in top thirty.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Yeah, I mean, I ultimately I don't care too much
about somebody else's list. But timpty Bow was a two
time national champion, won the Heisman when one just about
every single quarterback award you can win two time Offensive
SEC Player of the Year, three times first time, three
times First Team All SEC. Like Tim Tebow is one
of the most decorated college football players that have ever
ever graced the grid iron. And but I but you

(07:17):
know what, I honestly, i'd see this list and I know,
maybe I'm only thirty. I'll be thirty five and almost
a month now, so I'm a little younger. I guess
when you're considering some of these names that are on
this list. But I don't think I've ever seen a
better football player in his prime than Cam Newton. And
he happened at Auburn, and he was all by himself.

(07:38):
No one else was that offense went to the NFL,
and only one other player on the defense, mind, you
went to the NFL.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
So that's to show you.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Was that the d tackle from Nick Fairly that went
to the.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
Right, Yeah, but that that was it?

Speaker 2 (07:52):
That was the list of professional players from Tim Tebow,
I mean from Cam Newton's Auburn year where he just
I mean dominated college football. So yeah, those those would
be the only two that I put. I'm mean, ultimately,
you know what you.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Should have done. You shouldn't listen like instead of making
those make your own listen. Oh no, I see, I'm
telling you You're just went and ruined the surprise you
guys know how I get that when Liz come out,
when I get challenged with him, I go make my own.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
So this week's be clear, nobody's challenged.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
That's how I took it. You saw Michael Jordan style.
I took it personally. I took it properly, report like
they was coming at me. That's how I was like,
who you first of all, who you think you're talking to?
That's who you think you're talking to. This is a
big vanilla funny. This is a big vanilla Madden right here. Baby, No,
don't don't put no list out of y'all. Ain't running
by me. Another name to Tommy Fraser's on this list
on I don't have a problem with at number three,
but people forget and I know his off the field

(08:43):
stuff and rip Lord rest of the Soul also to
a lot of trouble stuff after college. But Lawrence Phillips
was the running back in that offense that made that
power eye option triple option go. Tommy Fraser was amazing,
but you can't have him at three, and then Lorrence
Phillips can't corrag. I'm gonna put Laurence Phillips over Ron Dayane.
I know Ron Dayne had the yards and at one

(09:06):
point was pushing for the all time leader Rustler. I
think he was the all time leader rusher at one
That's fine, but when you look at what Lords Phillips did,
the way he ran in the competition he ran against
woul I would argue the Big eight slash Big twelve
was a little better in the Big ten back then.
As far as some of the players that it put out,
You're absolutely right about Cam Newton. Lawrence Taylor also was

(09:26):
another guy left out of the top thirty. He was
the ACC nineteen eighty Player of the Year as a defender,
not defensive Player of the Year. He was the ACC's
Player of the Year. Steve you you, sir, are You've
probably forgotten more college football than I know. I definitely
wanted to bring you in on this because we got
talking about Ladanien and Garrison Hurst and Marshall Fault.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Marshall faults another guy off this list.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
I'm not sure if you've if you've seen the list,
I probably should have texted to you, but just your
thoughts on, you know, some of my comments about some
of the guys and the maybe guys you can think about. Hey, VJ.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
Where's this guy.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
I'm glad the Cam Newton name was brought up.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
I would put that in a separate list of one
year wonders because that was a ridiculously great year. Like
Joe Burrows last year was ridiculously great, but he didn't
approach that before in his college.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Problem he didn't have the longevity.

Speaker 5 (10:14):
Yeah, he had one year, literally one year. And Carson
Palmer was a usc quarterback for four or five years
and did nothing like his final year, the Heisman year,
in all his US years until he finally broke through
and beat Notre Dame and won the Heisman and all
of that. Matt Lionard had double the career that Carson
Palmer had as far as productivity. And you talk about

(10:36):
Tommy Fraser and winning quarterbacks, throw Matt Lionard on that
list as well. When we talked about college football on
a prior show, I mentioned in my Lifetime the two
running backs I saw where I actually thought, this is
unfair that they're on the field is Herschel Walker and
Marshall Falk. Marshall Falk his freshman year averaged seven yards
of carry for the entire season. Crazy he had a

(10:59):
non conference game again he's just starting his career. A
guy that was recruited as a defensive back. He went
to San Diego State because they were going to let
him play running back, and he wound up with Sean
Payton as his assistant coach at San Diego State, and
so in his first month as a college football player,
he had a game with three hundred and eighty six
yards rushing and seven touchdowns. Marshall Fulk was ridiculously good,

(11:23):
and for running backs, I can't vouch for Jim Brown
or Red Grange, but they're probably on most people's list.
I would throw Bo Jackson, Earl Campbell certainly. And Barry
Sanders is as close to the Marshall Falk herschel Walker
thing about being unfair and ironically, Barry Sanders' career finished
on Marshall Falk's field in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Yeah, not only that, Barry Sanders' two thousand yards. Also
in college he's the number five. So I like where
they have Barry in kids today and a lot of people,
not just kids, there's a lot of adults.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
He had a three hundred yard multiple three hundred yard
rushing games in the same season.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Arry Safe he was just burying. Was just a different guy.
And remember he was backing up Thrman Thomas. That's right
when he first got to Oklahoma State. So one just
handed to him.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
There was a Hall of Famer, he was special teams
he was still but yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Another running back, Reggie Bush not in the top thirty.
Like I said, I get Ron Day, there's Mike rose Year.
I felt like they felt like they were used out
because they had Marcus Allen at eight, nave Oj at sixteen,
and I figured they said, okay, well we got to
push Reggie. Are you a kid? Are you ready? Are
you kidding me? Put the tape on. You talk about
a guy you give the ball to, and you think,

(12:33):
you literally think it's not how purbly, it's not. It's
not exaggeration. You literally think he's gonna score almost every
single time he touched the football. You didn't think that
about Ron Day.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
However, as far as OJ Simpson, you could equal the spectacular.
The greatest run in the history of college football in
the state of California was OJ against UCLA back in
the nineteen sixties. Tony dor said had a really good career,
not just a heisman, a good career with Pitt before
he ever made it to the Dallas Cowboys. Billy Simms,
we see him at the Heisman ceremony all time had

(13:04):
a good career, not just a year or two with Oklahoma.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
Yeah, with Dorset, the three guys, I just think a
ranked too lower. OJ Ricky Williams in door set Dorset
and Ricky Williams. Remember Ricky Williams breaks Dorset record. If
I'm not mistaken, correct when Ricky Williams broke the all
time leader, Rusick wasn't Tony Dorset at the game against
Texas A and M Ricky broke the tackle up the middle.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
Also, when you talk records, keep in mind like the
Ron Dayne record for the longest time college football for
some unknown reason, didn't count the bowl stats on your
career stats.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
You're right, It's kind of like how the.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
NBA is not counting playing games Like I'm sorry, did
that game not exist? You're not recording the statistics of
a game that we all watch. We know what happened.
You're not gonna, I don't know, figure it out. Get
a little uniform here.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Yeah, bo Jackson at nineteen was just ridiculous to me.
So to respond to Martin, I thought about this this morning.
I said, VJ, you got to come up with your
own list. So next week I will show up with
my top thirty and week tolls around a week after
next or whatever.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
But this list, I thought, it got me excited.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
That got the juices funds like, Okay, yeah, it's college
football season CINFL season. As Martin mentioned, guy rookies are reporting.
It's it's real now. I haven't watched the lick of
Summer League. I just I'm just out. I'm out on Brownie,
I'm out on I'm out on everything if it's not football.
Right now, We've got the Olympics and euro Cup finishes
up tomorrow. Gonna get a chance to watch his Spanya
take on England for the championship there and then the

(14:24):
Copa Cup. But after that, of course I'll dive headfirst
into the Olympics. But then after you know, it's it's football.
It's football from here. The tebow won Martin is the
one you can like you said, you can name off
you know the accolades.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
That that's fine, but that those.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Teams were load it you talk about loaded in speaking
of Cam Newton, remember Cam Newton was gonna be the
replacement for Tim Tebow. Cam Newton was gonna be the
guy that was going to, you know, take the place
of him. Got in his troubles there and then got
sent on the Blaine College which you went eleven to zero,
won the Heisman for junior co and then the national
championship before going to Harbor.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
We'll dive into present day college football and the hottest
team by name, But will they be the hottest team
by record when it's all said and done.

Speaker 3 (15:08):

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated what.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
You do interrupting our promo?

Speaker 4 (15:41):
Yeah, it wasn't talking about you.

Speaker 6 (15:44):
You took those clips totally of context.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
Oh yeah, Well, after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Let me put this into context.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
Shut up.

Speaker 7 (15:53):
Yeah, anyway, just listen to the Polly and Tony Fosco
Show on iHeartRadio Apple Podcasts oherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
Yee, Martin Wisse's VJ Husky coming to your live at
the ti iraq dot com studios. You want to join
the conversation you get at us on Twitter. I'm at
Martin Wise VJ at Big Vanilla Funny. We'll be getting
to your tweets throughout the show, and I imagine this
will be a topic that excuse me, I imagine this
will be a topic that garner several of them, garnald

(16:23):
several of them. As we look at the Colorado Buffalo's
Dion Sanders in year two, took a team in year
one that was one and eleven to what was the
final wreck?

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Four wins and what how many? I think? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Four in I believe, yeah, twelve games for night. So
Big Vanilla Funny, what did you expect to see out
of Colorado this year?

Speaker 1 (16:46):
It's going to depend on what that offensive line looks like.
That's that's gonna be the Lynchpin for Colorado and Eddie
went out and the portal got some guys, and then
they also got some big time recruits coming. I don't
know if these kids can line up and play as
true freshman, but the Pac twelve does get a little
easy for them because there's been a departure of some
big name teams going over to the Big ten. They're
in the Big They're in the Big twelve. You're right there,

(17:07):
they're in the Big twelve. Ip to the pack. Yeah,
lived the champions and some of those schools have gone
on to the SEC. So thank you for the correction.
I I to me, can Shuduer have time to throw
the football and operate the offense? And last year we
and I, you and I both agree. I don't like
a hundred and ten plays for Travis Hunter. I like

(17:31):
about seventy five to eighty plays for Travis Hunter. But
Deon Sanders is quoted this past week at Big twelve
UH media press conference and availability that he not only
has the best defensive back in college football, he thinks
he's got the best receiver in college football. That's how
special he thinks Travis Hunter is. But it's all in
my opinion gonna come down just clearly to the offensive line.

(17:54):
If they could protect, they'll be fine. If they can't protect,
they're in a world of trouble. They're in the road
of trouble again. As far as uh where they can be.
As far as wins losses, I think you said a
few weeks ago. I believe and I don't want to
misquote you, but six wins would be a success, would
be a success.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
I I totally.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Disagree because of what Dion also reiterated in the press
conference that the standard winnings different for him. The standard
is different for him, and we all know why. We
don't have to go down the bullet points. If people
want to act like they're not there, okay, fine, I'm
past trying to even debate That'll argue that or get
people to see that, even thought provokingly, do what you
want to do with it. I think for them to
feel like this is a successful season, they got to

(18:40):
get the nine wins. You got to you got some
of the big boys that have left the Big twelve
and that are on to the SEC. It's you should
be able to if you, like I said, if you
put this offensive line together, good and they could protect
and run the football and keep guys off their quarterback
where he can actually scan see it, read it, throw it.
Then I think they will be fine. I like them
at about eight or nine wins for it to be successful.

(19:02):
Six wins. Nobody is gonna come out and say, ma'am,
what a successful year for Dion? One win, four wins
six by year three, you know, you gotta take a leap.
Two games is not a leap in year three in Colorado?
Say it again. This will be year year two. I'm
sorry year two, but I'm sorry. I'm just talking about
the wins though.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Right, you go one four and in six, No, the
program had one win. Yeah, but Dion as a Colorado
coach has four wins. Yeah, I get, I get which
I get one win program to four wins? Yeah, but
I still I still need them. I need eight or
nine man, And I think eight or nine is uh.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Eight or nine could be doable for Colorado once again,
if they protect the quarterback, that's that's gonna be the
big thing.

Speaker 9 (19:50):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
Colorado football will have five wins this year.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Wow, five wins. Five wins this year.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
North Dakota State, Colorado State, Cincinnati, Kansas and.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
I don't know. Maybe Texas Tech the five wins this year.
You think Colorado gets the five wins this year, and
I think.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
That that should be looked at as some modicum of success. Again,
this team had one win two years ago. These things
are it's a stepping stone. It is very hard to
skip steps. Okay, college football.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
So you got North Dakota State, so that's a win
Week one. You think they go to Nebraska and lose.
You think Matt Rule has got it together there.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
I mean, I don't think Colorado has it together. This
is much more of a reflection on Colorado than anything else.
I don't think they have the offensive line. They're starting
a true freshman at left tackle.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Like they have a great quarterback. Travis Hunter can play.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
I think if he plays less than like seventy snaps,
maybe he can last the old season, even with putting
more weight on.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
But when you're playing literally two games and one.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
Saturday like this ain't summer league is college football, Like
that's it's just too hard for the body to keep
up with. I would expect Travis hunting and missed some time,
went healthy. They got the probably the best wide receiver
recording the Big twelve I just don't expect them to
stay healthy because he plays his best player every single play,
every single snap.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
Yeah, Week three at Colorado State. We know that game
last year, down to the wired in state rivalry. Early.
They always play early in the year. I always played September.
They don't hold it off. You got Colorado State, I'm
assuming no. I think, okay, so you're giving them and
Baylor goes into Colorado, you give them an l there.
I'll go with you on that one. Baylor has always
got some type of high powered type of office. They'll

(21:37):
just flinging around. They'll they don't mind.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Beating you forty eight to forty five.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
And in their defense, I also have to see how
their defense does respond, because the defense start to look
league at Colorado's that is towards the end of the year,
and then Central Florida. I'll get him a dub there
at Kansas State at home, I think I like Colorado
at home against Kansas State coming in there. I'll get
him a dub there. Down in Arizona. That track game,
that's a track night. I think that's probably it's two.
It's too be determined as far as the time. They

(22:01):
haven't even set the time for that, So I I
give him a track game. I give him a trick game,
lost there. Cincinnati comes in, I'm gonna give him that one.
At Texas Tech, I'm gonna give him that one. Utah
Utah tough. I think Utah will come in there. Utah
is always physical. They are great at the point up attack,
offensive defas. They're gonna run the football down your throat
and they're gonna be physical, smack you in the face.
I'll give them a l there. I think they go

(22:22):
on and they beat Kansas and then Oklahoma State. I
give them an el there. So that's their four losses.
Let me see, I got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Hey, yeah,
there's my eight. There's my eight and four right there. Well,
there you have it.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
Let's go to Steve to Sega with everything that's trying
to get the world sports. Steve, what you got, my friend.

Speaker 5 (22:39):
Let's start with Major League Baseball is Phillies pitcher Christopher
Sanchez was added to the All Star team for Atlanta's
Chris Sale, who's due to pitch tomorrow. Philadelphia now has
eight All Stars this year, including five pitchers.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
That's a record.

Speaker 5 (22:51):
Philadelphia eleven to five winners against Oakland today. Texas will
be hosting the All Star Game Tuesday on Fox TV.
The Rangers got a road win at Houston in ten innings,
two to one, ending the Strow's four game winning streak.
Houston was one game behind first placed Seattle in the
Al West to start the day. Seattle has won of
the late games. Starting up in about an hour in

(23:12):
Anaheim against the Angels, the Kansas City Royals have acquired
setup man right handed reliever Hunter Harvey from Washington. The
Nationals were winners six ' five at Milwaukee on a
two run homer top of the ninth by C. J. Abrams.
That excitement did not approach what happened in Detroit today
in ten innings, the Tigers beat the Dodgers eleven to
nine on a homer in the bottom of the tenth

(23:34):
after scoring five runs in the bottom of the ninth.
What is the Dodgers record since May twenty first, It's
twenty three and twenty three. Aaron Judge and the Yankees
hit his thirty fourth home run of the season. Yanks
on ALFs one got a six to one win at Baltimore,
so the Yankees are now tied with the Orioles for
first in the Al East. Today's loss to Grayson Rodriguez,

(23:55):
who had been eleven and three. Boston shutout Kansas City
five nothing. Pittsburgh has six to two win at the
White Sox, victories for Cincinnati, the Mets, and Cleveland, and
currently on Fox TV, it's the Padre still won nothing
over the Braves top of the fifth, Twins lead at
San Francisco to one in the top of the fifth,
and in the second of a double header at Saint
Louis Cardinals a two to nothing leader against the Cubs.

(24:17):
That's in the bottom of the first inning. The opener
at Saint Louis went to the Cards eleven to three
after Saint Louis scored nine runs in the first inning.
That ended at Cubs five game winning streak. US women's
soccer won its pre Olympic exhibition in New Jersey today
one nothing over Mexico. There were two WNBA games New
York Now twenty and four one at Chicago eighty one

(24:38):
sixty seven. Angel Rees of Chicago eight points, sixteen rebounds.
She was three of thirteen shooting from the floor. She'd
had fifteen straight double doubles until today.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
La which was.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
Five and seventeen, won its game at Dallas eighty seven
eighty one Dallas now five and nineteen. The Wimbledon Women's
final went to Barbara Krachkova in three sets, sixty four
in the third against number seven seed Jasmine Paulini. Ludwig
Oberg leads the Scottish Open by two strokes. Cole Custer
one NASCAR's Exfinity Race at Pocono Back.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
To you, thanks Steve Martin and VJ coming to your
live from the Tirack dot Com studios. Now, VJ, you said,
football season is here. And one of the things that
makes it feel like football season is here for sure,
even though we just have a total.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Of one NFL team, and not only all of these.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
Not even the whole team, just the rookies.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
Reported for camp currently, is because now Netflix and Omaha Productions,
who puts on these shows, have timed quarterback and receiver
to hit it around the same time. And now HBO
is getting in the mix with their hard knocks off season,
which will then lead it to hard knocks preseason, which

(25:48):
will then lead it to hard knocks. So there's a
lot of different variants of hard knocks there, but The
one we're on right now is receiver. Yeah, which is
the the close cousin of quarterback, the in depth. Look
at all these wide receivers at the top of my head.
You got Dustin Jefferson, DeVonta Adams, I'm in Ross Saint Brown,

(26:11):
and then the two forty nine ers Kittle.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
And Deebo Samuelbo. I just find it funny that Brandon
Ayuka is there.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
He's like, I'm a.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
Receiver too, and I'm trying to get paid. Can I
be on the NEP No not you not. We're going
with the tight end instead. But I told you to
watch this and you said that you have been. Yeah,
I'll finish it. I actually have not finished it yet.
I am at the NFC Championship game. I'll finish spoilers, No,
I won't. I won't know. I mean, I'm joking. I

(26:38):
know how.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
Yeah, you know what, You're right. Damn, damn, damn.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
You've got you mar and Okay, good one, good ones,
good one. I know good, you got me.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
It's kind of like when watching the off season Hard Knocks,
they're like with Joe Shane's on the phone.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
He's like, so, Saquan, you're gonna give us a call
back if if somebody else.

Speaker 10 (26:57):
Is like, yeah, sure, pal, yeah, spoil me. I'm waiting
on the next episode to see what Saquon's decision is.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Yeah yeah, I'm saying, yeah, Martin Gobby, I see. I'm
on the edge, guys, I'm I'm ready. I'm I'm football ready, man,
I'm on edge. A few notes from this thing. The
first thing, The star of Receiver is Claire Kittle. She's
the star of this show. She's the star of this show.
And let me tell y'all something, Man, if every man
had a woman like that. That back to Hill that

(27:24):
she's a former baller from I Well, she played ball there,
so she's a former athlete. So she gets what her
husband's into and what she's doing. And from everything, I'm saying, yes,
the cameras are on, I get all of that. But
the cameras are on in Vegas too, and we'll get
to that guy in a minute. Also too, our good
buddy Rob Parker had an opinion that I definitely agree with.
It was waiting to say, wish I had got on
air before he did so I could put out I
was the first one to say, but Rob beat me

(27:45):
to it. Because he gets on a lot more than
I do. Well.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Also, I guarantee you that Rob Parker doesn't even know
how to turn on Netflix.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Receiver Netflix wo's this. But yeah, just just some notes.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
I just took down from this number one, this position,
and I've always loved receiving. You guys know, dB receiver,
tight end and quarterback are my position. Those positions I
play when I play, So those are the ones I
love and analyze the breakdown the most. It takes a
lot of prep, man to get your body ready. This
idea that they don't hit in the NFL, no more.
Can we get rid of that? Can we get rid

(28:20):
of that stupid narrative? Because I'm watching these guys all
the three of these guys got banged up in this thing, Okay,
all year long, and I'm sorry everybody, but Kittle got
banged up last year from taking hits from defensive backs
and just normal hits. The one that Deebo takes it's
not a hard hit, but you know, Scalpel, it gets
cracked and Justin Jefferson loses the hamstring and he loses

(28:43):
you know, a lot of the season, perhaps to him,
was still getting over a thousand yards. You know, I
got a side note about that. Justin Jefferson, stop beating
all the candy brouh. I know you're young, but that
sugar dreams worn out of the muscle fight.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
When I when I watched Justin Jefferson eat like I mean,
if I ate like that, oh four pounds, my goodness,
it's not good now.

Speaker 4 (29:03):
It's just he's like DK Metcalf with the candy.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
No, but you know what it's like Martin at thirty
with the care.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
That's why I look like when he opened his cupboard
and showed off, that's way too much sugar for a professional.
I don't care how old you are. I know, and
he said it, I'm young, but I have a chef
and the chef is cutting the steak form and I
feel like if I eat. No, that's why you're a
hamstring pulls, bro, you're the sugar. It takes water out
of the muscle fibers when the muscle fibers are dry.

(29:30):
That's how you pull in. That's how you pull muscles.
That's my only dad gotta say about Justin Jefferson. Love
his style, love his swag. I love the armor. Say
Brown family, I really do their dad is off the chain,
the mom is. I love the fact the kid speaks
German because his mom's German. His father was competing over there,
Davante Adams, the Raiders need to move on, hold on
real quick on the Alma, I say Brown think, I'll
just say this.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
The more and more in depth focus that you see
on athletes and their families and their upbringing, I'm work
shopping to take, so be careful with it.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
There's a thin line between child abusive, preparing child professional.
I'm with you. It is a thin line, head line,
and I've seen it with my own eyes and my
personal I've seen it crash and burn, and I've seen
it be super successful. There is a thin line between.
All right, that made me hate this sport. I don't
want to play this no more.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
I'm around Saint Brown was lifting weights before it had
to be, before he knew how to write.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
It was like like four or five years old.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
Five years old, yeah, just banging out, just express and
the day out. What are you thinking that his mother
making him read ten minutes of German on the way
to school every day every day.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
The kid probably can't even spell apple, yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
But he could talk in Germany, and you're right about that.
To another thing, Martin, I took for this, remember O
last year, how I grew a small infatuation for how
Pat Mahomes prepares. And I was a guy. I told you,
after you watch it, you're gonna like that, and listen,
I'm allowed to change my mind with new information. I
want quarterback. And I said, Okay, it's not luck anymore. Guys,

(31:03):
stop calling this street ball. Stop saying he's just running around.
He really does lean on the ball and lean to
the left and pull a cable to throw this like
he really practices this stuff.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
Day after day after day after day.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
So that's why on Sundays it looks like luck. It's not.
There's no such thing as luck. There's preparation, there, there's training,
there's being focused, there's being locked in. And that's what
I see from these states. To the guy that I
kind of like, we just talked about him, the guy
fell in love with Sam Brown. I fell in love
with that guy.

Speaker 6 (31:33):
Man.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
He is now one of my top ten favorite NFL players,
just by the way he carries himself. Like Mark said,
the family dynamic his brother plays with the Bears, the
fact that they're taught. They taught big time trash. That's
what it's about. Man, that going up in the stands
while he's standing there on the losing end and walking
right up to his brother with that smirk on his face.
He's sitting there saying, man, I don't want to lose

(31:54):
this game because I talk trash on the podcast. I'm
gonna have to go back now. I don't want to
lose this game because we'll fall here in the stand
is or we just come off this. It's no. I
don't want to have to go sit across from my
own brother and have to look him in his face
after they beat us. But there's a lot of takeaway
from this thing with DeVante Adams, the really fast he
doesn't want to be there. He doesn't want to be there.

(32:15):
The Raiders really need to rethink this. And I'm gonna
throw this out there and I'm just being I'm staying consistent.
He exhibits poor leadership. Oh yes he does. He let
me let me explain me. Okay, that's fine, but let
me explain when you are, when you are on the
bench and some of the things that we have seen
him saying.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
As a leader, you have to keep some of that
stuff to yourself.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
You can't say all that stuff and then go to
practice and be the guy with the pep talk before
everybody breaks into their individual groups to go press.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
You can't play both. That's poor leadership in my opinion.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
The reason why I feel that way mcgiveshean to my
mom's real quick I talk to you this morning, Lieutenant
colonel out of the Pentagon. My father airborne ranger for
the United States Army.

Speaker 10 (32:57):
I know what.

Speaker 3 (32:58):
Leadership looks like. Okay, hey, my older.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
Brother coach kids, had got kids off the college, won
a state chase too, chase two state championships of AAU basketball,
my brother Dennis, and finished nationally fourth with one of
his AAU teams. I know what leadership looks like. You
can't call yourself a leader if you're gonna sit on
the sideline and complain and cuss and I gotta get
out of here stuff. That's not a leader. I'm sorry.

(33:21):
It's just not not say he can't be a leader,
but what he was last year and they needed him
to be that guy. And you can see their faces
on his team. Just look around him in the videos, guys. Yeah,
guy's kind of looking like, all right, man, you know cool.
You gotta keep some of that stuff to yourself. But
the Raiders, I would really seriously think about moving on
from this guy. You don't have a quarterback this year.

(33:42):
Martinine's they're gonna be terrible, sore. What you think you're
gonna get a better Davante personality wise? You're gonna get
a better attitude from Devonte this year. He thinks they're
gonna be terrible. I think they're gonna be okay. I
like them at about seven eight wins. Maybe Martin's they're
gonna be horrible. You think you're gonna get a better
DeVante Adams? I beg the different, But I love this.
I'm not gonna ruin Well, I'm sorry again.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Well you know how we was sick of Jimmy Garoppolo
and Josh McDaniels. That was key, Like that was what
that was evident. And it's as somebody who well, no,
like no, I'm I'm I don't have a problem when
you are a putting in the work b like not
when somebody else is actively holding you back from being great,

(34:24):
Like I get it, Like you don't want to just
be like it's one thing if they were ever in
contention last year when he was played like like even
you saw the the clip when Mike when he was
talking about my my determination is based off of greatness.
You know what I'm saying, Like to me when you
have a level or like it'd be like being a
great guitar player and the lead singer all of a sudden,

(34:46):
it's trying to fight through a dead voice or something
like that, or the drummer, you know, all it can't
screw it.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
It's like you know, I, you're not.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
You are not building an environment around me in which
I had that possibility to be great. I get that.
I do say it in the back. You don't say
it in stage. You don't say it on stage in
front of twenty seven thousand people. I don't say it
on stage in front of twenty seven thousand people. You
wait till you get to the back. Naw.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
I'm not saying you can't say anything.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
I would have had a problem with it if he
had gone up and gotten somebody's face, if he had
gone up and like been dressing down the coach, like
with like Sean Payton dressed down Russell Wilson on Thanksgiving
Day when what could have been Thanksgiving Day, but it
was around that time when the Broncos were playing the Lions,
and Russell and Sean Payton is just yelling down hell
when Dion was dressing down starta Meyer last year on Colorado.

(35:33):
Like that, to me is poor leadership if you're expressing
frustration on your own when, let's be honest, he's so
open that there's ten yards of space around him. All
you gotta do is just pump the ball and he'll
catch it. I don't have a problem with it, but
let's see if VJ has a problem with this controversial
decision made in Major.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
League Baseball earlier this week. We'll get to that coming
up next. Martin White's VJ Husky Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (35:56):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot Com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
Martin Wise, VJ hust can come to you live from
the tire Rack dot com studios. So actually it happened
here VJ on Fox Sports Radio and The Dan Patrick Show,
where Paul Skeens was named the NL starter for the
All Star Game, but prior to that right, Well, I
think it's a sixth guy.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
To ever do it.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Mark the burd Fidrich is when that pops in my mind.
First its former Detroit Tiger to start the All Star
Game as a rookie. But prior to that, Dans had
seven innings no hits, and manager Derek Shelton tapped, pulled
out his left arm, tapped it with his right, made

(36:47):
the call to the bullpen. It said, Skins get out
of here. After the game, I'm paraphrasing a bit he said.
Skeens was tired and it was a field type thing.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
O God, Shenanigans. I called Shenanigans on it. This is
this is this is bad man, This is crazy. Why
are we doing this to people? I come from an
era of just watching Nolan Ryan pitched seven no hitters,
seven of them like this. You're you're robbing us of history.
You're robbing this young man, a rookie. This guy's a rookie.

(37:17):
He was just pitching for LSU. He's got no hit
he is mowing guys down, tired getting it. Come on, man,
don't you go out and you ask the kid and
you ask him honestly, Hey, you got you got more.
Kid looks at you and say, I got you know
I got I gotta know I got some more.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
Amy Adams skipper.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
You let him ride. We're rid into the All Star break.
You're not fighting for a wild card spot or a
playoff spot on September twentieth or September nineteenth. This before
the All Star break. We're freaking July and you're pulling
a rookie. This kid's got all the energy. They're tired.
How the hell are you tired? I don't buy that
from the manager at all. And I think the I
think the kids being a good you know, being a

(37:54):
good soldier by not kind of laying waste and saying, hey, no,
I said I had juice in the tank.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
I was ready to go.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
You don't rob a rookie and if guess what, and
then if he gives up a hit, then you could
pull him.

Speaker 3 (38:05):
But why you when you got a no hitter going
you let that ride out.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
I will never understand this whole new world of analytics
and pitch count Ride the guy out. We can go
back to the Dodgers in the bubble right. They're getting
they can't touch they can't touch the pet forget I forget, goodness, gracious,
give it the glasses. I forget what the name was.
But uh, he used to push for he used to
pitch for the Royals. But he's he's he's got it

(38:31):
locked up. I remember Mookie Betts like saying in the
post game, they were like, we were all shocked that
they pulled him. And once they pulled him out of
the game, knock knock, single, double run RBI, home run,
season over Bubble Championship, COVID Championship to the Dodgers, like,
we this is just bad for baseball. You want people
to tune in, but then you're telling me the regular

(38:51):
season don't matter. You want people to watch the regular season.
You're telling me the regular season don't matter because when
you got a no hitter going in the seventh and
eighth inning, you pull the guy out. I just David
Wells is the perfect game no hitter. I watched some
really good no hitters in my time. You know what's
even more irritating when you see like a no hitter
that goes to like three pitchers, three pitchers getting no hit.
No man, I didn't like this baseball guy, was this

(39:13):
was this cool with you?

Speaker 2 (39:14):
The thing that I mean in the aggregate, like by itself.
You know, I can't get too worked up about it.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
Schemes.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
I don't think he's ever pitched eight innings total in
his career so far, and he is a rookie, and
he is throwing like he's throwing Vegas Vegas summer numbers
in terms.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
Of the type of speed, you know, one O two,
one o one, go crazy.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
But the thing that is to me, the saddest part
about it all is where we are now in Major
League Baseball, this is almost expected, like like like you're
not even expecting guys to be able to go nine
any complete games anymore. You're not even it's not even expected,
like it's not even like I can't get so worked

(39:54):
up about him coming out because this, at this point,
the news would be had he stayed in. Do you know,
like this Jesus journalism school, Like you know, dog bites
man is not news. Man bites dog, that's news, right
because what dog? If somebody gets bet by a dog
every day? Now, if a man starts biting a dog,

(40:15):
that's something we need to have a better, different conversation about.

Speaker 3 (40:19):
So that's that's where at this point this is what's
part for the course. And I think that is to
me the overwhelming sadness of this moment.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
I can't get out raised over it because it just
happens too frequently for me to get mad.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
Like trust the snake to bite you exactly, Okay, I
feel yeah, exactly. You start biting snakes now, It's like, okay, bro,
what's you know?

Speaker 3 (40:37):
What's going on?

Speaker 1 (40:38):
It was your childhood? Like all right, I feel you.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
I just okay.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
So maybe I'm not in deep. I'm not. I'm up
in arms more than you are because I I want
to see this stuff. I want to see I want
to see it too. It will be awesome.

Speaker 3 (40:52):
It's just not going to happen starting break.

Speaker 1 (40:55):
I'll tell you this.

Speaker 2 (40:56):
I would have been infuriated if Shelton had said I
pulled him because he's gonna start to the All Star
Games coming up next though.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Will this star wide receiver be on his way to
the biggest city? Fox Sports Radio. Is this superstar wide
receiver on his way to the big lights.

Speaker 3 (41:13):
We'll get that coming up in just a moment.

Speaker 2 (41:15):
We're broadcasting live from the tire rack dot Com studios
tire rack dot Com.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
Well, we'll be get there with.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
An unmaxed selection faster shipping fruit as a protection, and
over ten thousand recommended his dollars tire rack dot com
the way that tire buying.

Speaker 3 (41:27):
Should be VJ.

Speaker 1 (41:29):
I thought one of the injury little tidbits that was
snuck in like a little Easter egg insaw, you know,
Easter eggs and movies. I don't even know they still
put Easter eggs and movies.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
We were talking about this just off the air, how
like back in the you know, back where people go
see movies in the theaters, and we weren't just kind
of throwaway projects. They will put little Easter eggs and
then make references and so on and sof fort. It
was a little Easter rag and Netflix's show receiver. Before
the Jets came to play The Raiders, Davante Adams and

(41:59):
Aaron Rodgers went to Barry's, which is a restaurant in
Las Vegas.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
I googled it as soon as he said it.

Speaker 2 (42:04):
So we went to Barry's and sat in the back
room and had like a three hour conversation because I
was like, wait, who the hell is Barry?

Speaker 9 (42:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (42:10):
Right, So they Gordon and said they had like a
three and a half hour conversation, and then prior to
the game, Davante and Aaron had a moment on the field.

Speaker 3 (42:19):
Aaron obviously not playing.

Speaker 1 (42:21):
I don't know where he was at this point in
his rehab if this was the dolphin listening stage or
the playing defensive back and practice stage of his rehab.
Neither way.

Speaker 2 (42:30):
He wasn't playing football, but of course was at the
field at a national televised game. There that was sarcasm
if just just in case I was curious, but he said,
you know, it was a great talk last night, Davonte
said to Aaron, He's like, you know what, I can't
wait to do it again. Then, just a minute ago,

(42:51):
at a golf tournament out there in Tahoe, I believe
Jerry Rice.

Speaker 3 (42:55):
Was getting on in the fight with some reporters. But god,
did you see that?

Speaker 1 (42:58):
I did see that.

Speaker 3 (42:59):
But what I also hell Jerry.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
I also saw Aaron Rodgers walking down the fairway saying,
I can't wait to play with Davonte Adams again.

Speaker 1 (43:11):
When when?

Speaker 9 (43:11):
When?

Speaker 2 (43:12):
When when One of my one of my home girls,
works for Golf Golf Channel and she's out there interviewing people.
So she texted me a list of players. You know
that she doesn't normally, you know, she's generally interviewing golfers.

Speaker 1 (43:24):
Yeah, exactly. You know when things like this happens with
a lot of crossover, uh, you know, the football. So
she text me like players are help you know.

Speaker 10 (43:35):
So?

Speaker 2 (43:35):
And the questions I wrote to her to ask, you know,
her various interviews. One was Aaron Rodgers, as I said,
you recently said you can't wait to play with Davonte
Adams again. Do you know something that we don't?

Speaker 1 (43:50):
Well, when they hugged it out on the episode of Netflix,
the way he told them he loved him.

Speaker 3 (43:56):
That that wasn't us, That wasn't like, hey man, love
you brother. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
If I Christmas time come an, I'm a big holiday guy.
You know, you get somebody Christmas cars say hey, look man,
marry Christmas you and your family.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
I love you, brother.

Speaker 1 (44:07):
You know what I'm saying. It's it's cordial, right, you're
being con You're showing that you're supposed to love. God
says God love how I love you, And that's what
you're supposed to do. But that thing right there, didn't
they say I missed you.

Speaker 4 (44:18):
I thought I think I think.

Speaker 1 (44:20):
I gotta look. I miss I fine, miss you man,
and I love you brother, and that he really look
like man. I really want to beep back with you again. Now, Mark,
you're more of a books guy as far as contracts
and what could be paid and this and all that
more than I am. I'm My thing is Listen. You
get paid to move money around and move contracts around

(44:41):
to get guys in. Do your damn job and get
it going. If you can't get it, then fine, guys
want to leave. Fine, I can't help, but sisters to
think him and Aaron both wanted out of Green Bay.

Speaker 3 (44:52):
You guys both wanted out.

Speaker 1 (44:55):
And now look what you have. Now look where you are.
It's almost like the relationship that you I don't work at.
You think the grass is greener on the other side,
and you think it's easier and better to change your
partner than to change your bad ways and your bad
decision making and your bad attitude in your relationship. When
you go to the next place or you date the
next woman or man, the problems are still there. The

(45:17):
analogy I love to use is I'm a big cleaner
former military at my house is immaculate I sweep them
off almost every day. If you sweep under the rug
in the kitchen and you leave the rug, then you
put the rug down, you go away. Thirty days, you
come back and you lift the rug. What's under the rug,
the trash that you swept, It doesn't go away. These
two guys, I'm just like, man, you guys are both

(45:39):
kind of making us look like, Oh I miss you. Okay, cool.
You guys couldn't work this out with Green Bay Aaron
Rodgers with them bum ass jets. Davante's with the Raiders.
He's not. He don't want to be there. So now
Martin's fast forward to all this stuff. I hey, man, listen,
we know guys are powerful and pro sports nowadays, we
know moves can be made. I think I'm you know what,

(46:01):
I'm gonna put it on the board right now. I'm
gonna put it on the board right now. Put it
on the I'm on the board right now. Yeah, mark
this down. Patrick is one of.

Speaker 3 (46:09):
My first football predictions this year.

Speaker 1 (46:11):
DeVante Adams will be traded by the deadline from Las Vegas.
He will not play there all year long. They once again,
my partner thinks they're gonna be bad. They start one
and four, one and five, it's gonna get ugly and
they're gonna have to make grown man front office decisions. Yeah,
you can keep this guy here because you need a
big time player and uh, you know, somebody to draw

(46:31):
ticket tells and that. Listen, man, listen, the chemistry's gone,
the coarateerie's not here.

Speaker 3 (46:37):
He does not want to be here. Let's move them.

Speaker 1 (46:40):
I think the Jets might be middle of the rod,
probably five hundred at that point. That could be two
and two, two and three probably at that point, and
they might need Hey, we need a spark. Eric can
go right to them and say, go get this guy.
He's got that kinduct. I mean, hey, you know he
can missed, he can miss you know, miss training camp
and stuff like not training camp, but you know, mis
events for the teams, and he's got power. I think
Davante Ada, that's one of my big predictions. I put

(47:01):
that on my one hundred and eighteen Uncle Vj's Vestent
Sports football prediction this year, DeVante Adams will be traded
out of Vegas by the trade deadline.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
I said, if I was the Las Vegas Raiders, I'd
make two phone calls. Oh, I like it there, and
it depends on which way.

Speaker 1 (47:16):
Well.

Speaker 3 (47:17):
Personally, just I'm rooting for Antonio Pierce.

Speaker 2 (47:20):
I would love him to be successful in the end, absolutely,
especially because of his background and also the way that
he seems to me to be a player's coach, and
I think we could use more of those in the
league as opposed to spreadsheet guys.

Speaker 1 (47:35):
I'm excited to hear about these two teams.

Speaker 9 (47:36):
Though.

Speaker 2 (47:37):
The first call i'd make, I call Jerry Jones. Oh oh,
I'd say, Oh, Jerry, for one reason or another, you've
yet to sign Dad Prescott. I got no problem paying
Dad Prescott fifty seven million dollars year to come play
quarterback for me.

Speaker 3 (47:56):
What's it gonna cost, what's it gonna cost?

Speaker 1 (47:59):
I'll pay. What's it gonna call? You?

Speaker 2 (48:01):
Paired Davante Adams with Dad Prescott, Max Crosby, that's a
foundation you can build with. In my opinion, dak at
twenty nine years old. Davante again, he's now he's now
thirty one. But I mean, as we saw, he still
got every bit of his speed, and he's toughest nails.

Speaker 1 (48:16):
And you're turning Dallas's office over to Cooper Rush, and
you think Trey Lance, I ain't got something I'll talk
about if I'm Vegas, I ain't got that. I don't
have to plan for dob okay, fake, okay, all right,
all right, I'm just right, all right. No, I like it.
I like it. You don't want to pay him, Well,
damn it, Jerry. I will and trade and trade do
doing trade? Trade up? Go Dak? Yeah, I say no, no,

(48:37):
no no no no no no no no no no.

Speaker 3 (48:39):
I would bring Dak and have him paired with DeVante.

Speaker 1 (48:42):
I would. I would bring that to Vegas to play
with the vo. They don't give him a deal. That's
a free agent. At the end of twenty four, you're
the Raiders. You're cutting the check. Yeah, okay, okay, no,
I got you.

Speaker 2 (48:53):
I would well, you will be cutting the check, probably
right after the trade, because you're just gonna go ahead
and do it.

Speaker 1 (48:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (48:57):
But it's like, I'm calling, Jerry, what do you need
off my roster?

Speaker 2 (49:00):
Devon say Adams, not going, Max Crosby, not going anybody
who you could have, whoever the hell's you want. And
I will go ahead and drop the check on Dak Prescott. Now,
if that call doesn't get made, the next call that'd
make us the Jets. Robert Sala, the only reason you
have a job right now is because Aaron Rodgers snapped
his killing on play four of the season.

Speaker 3 (49:23):
Very true, that's it, period true.

Speaker 1 (49:24):
True.

Speaker 3 (49:24):
Because if they.

Speaker 2 (49:25):
Had gone it had been a failure, they had gone
six and eleven, there'd be a whole new situation.

Speaker 3 (49:32):
There'd be a whole new situation.

Speaker 2 (49:34):
Aaron Rodgers has the Jets over a barrel because they
know that the only reason that they still have jobs
is because Rogers got hurt last year.

Speaker 1 (49:44):
Now.

Speaker 3 (49:44):
I don't believe they'll get the same mulligan this year.

Speaker 2 (49:46):
Old on, but everybody kind of gave him a pass
because they had already determined that Zach Wilson is not
the guy. Now, why they didn't move on from him
in the offseason to get an actual backup quarterback That's
a different conversation for a different day. But I will
call Robert Salad, Jets GM A, what's it going to cost?
I want to send DeVonta Adams your way. They got

(50:09):
some players to give up too.

Speaker 1 (50:10):
They got a lot of talent on that roster you
have that you don't want, and I think the Jets
front office.

Speaker 2 (50:16):
Probably the lower third in the league, especially what you
consider like they moved on from Bryce Hoff to then
trade for Hassan Reddick, who is plays the same position,
is like four years older and probably not as good.

Speaker 1 (50:30):
Right you know what I'm saying? Those are type of
movies that Jets make. So hmmm, I'd make that call
if I didn't make the first one.

Speaker 2 (50:37):
If I hope, though, for Antonio Pierce's sake, that they
make the first one Paaradak with Davante and figure it
out from there. I think that raises your floor because
right now you know that they say, if you got
two starting quarterbacks, you don't have any like that.

Speaker 3 (50:54):
Well, they don't have.

Speaker 2 (50:55):
Two starting quarterbacks, Bills. They have two backup quarterbacks and
O'Connell and Gardner. Minshew, I got a team I had
on I got a team, he just popped in my head.
I got a team I called a Steelers. Hey, yeah,
they I called a steal I called the Steelers.

Speaker 1 (51:11):
Who you going with? Is your study?

Speaker 3 (51:13):
A Mikey A MT Hey, Tom Big, Tomlin?

Speaker 1 (51:16):
Who you going with? You're going with? Russ? Are you going?
Are you? Are you going with? Just cause? Hey, justin
Justin still young justin stie can. Maybe maybe we can,
maybe we can work with him, Maybe we maybe we can.
You you need another receiver, You need another receiver out there. Okay,
you got pickings, but you know we we we know
what happened with that last year. You got Johnson. Okay,
but Davonte, who was probably a top five, well he is,

(51:38):
in my opinion, top five receiver in the lead, probably
the top three receivers. He's your favorite receiver's favorite receiver. Yes,
pretty much? Uh productions there. You you think that would
give him a joke, that would that would kindly give
him a rejoke of energy. He's thirty one, but agent
sports guys doesn't mean what it meant twenty years ago.
Guys can play longer now because sports isn't as physical,

(51:59):
specially football isn't as physical as it used to be.
We're gonna start to see receivers still playing at thirty seven,
thirty eight years old. That's gonna come. We saw a
quarterback play the forty four to forty five. We're seeing
quarterback it's the forty and they're not losing a step.
The players don't get hit as much acl a Chilees.
Things of that nature. Yeah, but as far as just
the knock around that happens normally in football, that was

(52:22):
happening fifteen twenty years ago. You don't get that today.
I like that and that team just popped in my
heads because I like your idea about Dallas. I just
I think Dallas gets it done.

Speaker 8 (52:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (52:33):
I don't think Dak wants to leave Dallas.

Speaker 1 (52:35):
And if you if you let Dak walk out the door,
then you're just telling me you think Cooper Rush can
do it, or McCarthy is gonna stick around to groom
Trey Lance. That's what is telling me. But the Steelers
got a young, dynamic kid and justin fields that you know,
got shipped out of Chicago. People think that Russell Wilson's

(52:56):
gonna be the starter there. I don't think why you
got if Russell Willison your started, why you got both
guys there. It's just it's gonna create a a an
unnecessary narrative through training camp, through preseason, going into the season.
If I'm if I'm them, I the Steelers will be
a team. The Jets call is easy because Aaron Rodgers
is there. But if you call the Jets, I'd ask

(53:17):
for a ransom I'm just I'm not asking for one
or two guys. I'm like, look, we need another running back, right,
we need another running back because you know Jacobs, and
then you got Zamir White, the kid out of Georgia
who I think is legit, buts gonna be careful for
those countries strong dudes. Yeah, maybe another receiver. They're kind
of kind of loaded at the receiver position. Hey, it's like, hey,
why not? Why not? You know, why not?

Speaker 3 (53:40):
Why not?

Speaker 1 (53:41):
I'm sorry, name is sliping mind of kid from Ohio State. Oh,
they're not gonna give up Gary Wilson Garrett. Well, but
but if Aaron goes them saying, hey, yeah, Guarante a
young kid and I think it, and I think he's
legit too, but this guy is a vet. We know
what we're getting out of him. This is what I
want you to do.

Speaker 3 (53:55):
If Aaron lays it down, this is what I want
you to do.

Speaker 1 (53:58):
I think the Jets if did you make the call
to the Jets you asked for a ransom, because Aaron
is then gonna say, oh, yeah I want that done,
or no I don't want this done, and yeah I
want it. I like the Dallas thing Steelers are a
team that also popped in my mind to there. But
I do think by the trade deadline, he Devontae Amas
has got it got it's got to be gone. If

(54:19):
especially if they're not good, it's just not gonna get
better there. You might as well move on for him.
He was very adamant in a receiver several episodes of
talking about the end of the tunnel.

Speaker 2 (54:28):
But if you notice like he feels, if you noticed,
and during the show, the tone changed once.

Speaker 1 (54:36):
Once once he got at he said, I signed off
on it, he said it.

Speaker 3 (54:41):
I was good with that.

Speaker 1 (54:42):
I was good with that. I signed off on that.
I'll let y'all know right now, I signed off on it. Yeah,
I like those two man. Dallas is just like I said,
I think that that thing gets done. I think there's
a lot of talk about what he should get paid,
but I think that that think is done.

Speaker 2 (54:55):
If it was just that, I agree, uh wholeheartedly if
it was. But now you got Dak CD and Michael Parmichael.
There's a long line at the bank down there at
the Star. But coming up next talking about a long
line at the bank, This contract to me says this
is the new NBA. We'll see what Martin and VJ
say about that. Coming up next Fox Sports Radio. This

(55:19):
contract shows.

Speaker 1 (55:20):
It is a new NBA.

Speaker 2 (55:22):
Martin and VJ comes you live for the tie rack
dot Com Studios. Hit us up with your two cents
on Twitter. I'm at Martin Wise. Vj's at the Big
Vanilla Funny, like, uh, what's that fourteen I was gonna read?
I didn't know fo Yeah, I just like this one.
I just told him we would read it. Fourteenth and
Nindy at O G A one C says Martin Wise.

(55:46):
Coach Pierce ain't finna let them lose bro at Big
Vanilla Funny. The Raiders had the Chiefs looking scared as
hell at the end of the season.

Speaker 1 (55:54):
Yeah, thoughts, I hope you're right, Paul Ross said, if
Martin Wise was somehow a pro athlete and delusional fantasy world,
he would definitely be a diva wide receiver.

Speaker 3 (56:06):
Oh wow, would you probably? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (56:09):
If I was as open as DeVonta Adams was and
Jimmy G missed me that bad, I will come back
to him and be like how many fingers?

Speaker 3 (56:15):
Yeah, how many figures the whole No? Oh, not the
medal one?

Speaker 9 (56:18):
Now?

Speaker 1 (56:18):
How many? Two? Three? I don't think they gotta miss you, Martin.
I think you have the personality. You worry your emotionally.
You can't hide your your face, tell your face, car
tells everything. I think you would be diva ish and like,
you know, pulling Stefan Diggs type things on the sideline,
like rolling your eyes and being demonstrative. I think I'd
be like Davonte.

Speaker 3 (56:39):
I throw my helmet down to sit there and stared.
Dare somebody to talk to me?

Speaker 1 (56:43):
It is Keishawn Johnson right here, going going, going out,
John Gruden on Monday Night Football.

Speaker 3 (56:50):
So man, Jalen Brunson signed a contract.

Speaker 2 (56:54):
Yeah, I left thirty seven million dollars uh on the
floor of the next three years. I know it gives
the next one hundred and thirty million dollars extra cap space,
but it really breaks down to thirty seven million when
you think about it.

Speaker 8 (57:07):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (57:09):
But this has everybody up in arms. Yeah, so speak
on it. Well you know what I get it, I
really do, because here's the thing. What's the current contract?
One fifty six?

Speaker 10 (57:20):
Right?

Speaker 3 (57:21):
Is that what he just hump for? Was it one
fifty six? Somewhat somewhere? What'll you say?

Speaker 1 (57:24):
One four years one one hundred fifty six million and
a half with a player option in year four. Okay, dude,
you know what this tells me. I'll just say this
right now. There is no chance he's picking up that
player option. Yeah, exactly that the two things this does
allow him flexibility to sign another big maxdal down the road.
But also with this, what I felt from him on

(57:45):
this was everybody doesn't need two hundred and sixty and
two hundred and fifty million dollars to live. Some people
just understand that. Listen, man, I'm not buying a new
Ferrari and a new Lamborghini and two hundred thousand dollars
chains and watches and stuff all all the time to
really look you look good for people who don't give
a damn about you anyway. Jalen Brunson strikes me as

(58:07):
a guy who truly wants to be the savior for
the nick Obaccas, who truly wants to get them over
the top and win a championship or at least get
to a finals. And if this allows them flexibility to
bring in another big time player, maybe at the trade
deadline this year, guys, or maybe possibly definitely let year
new York is still New York. It's still the Big Apple,

(58:30):
It's still Gotham City. You can get talent there. Tom
Thibodau is a hell of a basketball coach. I've been
speaking about all these playoffs. It's time to get this
man as Flowers. The man can coach the pill flat
up and down. I actually didn't mind this at all.
I get people that, oh, this is stupid, you left
that much money on the table, and think maybe he's like, listen,

(58:50):
I can live off one hundred and fifty six million dollars. Guys,
I'm okay, and I'm gonna have an opportunity to sign
a Max Dill again three years from now. Like you said,
he's not gonna pick up that option. He'll back he'll
he'll he'll opt out of it, and then they gonna
have to put another one eighty one ninety two hundred
million plus on the table for him again. With he
twenty five, twenty six, I'm not sure on the top

(59:13):
of my head, but when it's time for a new deal,
he'll be thirty one. He'll he'll be thirty one. Man
for Yeah, so he turns twenty eight at the end
of August. Okay, so he'll be thirty one. We just
saw PG, who's mid thirty. We just saw pg's mid thirty.
They just got two hundred plus million dollars. He'll have
an opportunity. I love this because what this says to

(59:35):
the fans, to the front office, Now, now see that's
a leader. That's a leader right there. I'll take a
little less. But now, front office, Nick Oboka's do your work.
Get this guy, get this guy another player, work your magic,
work the money, move the contracts around, the stuff you
get paid to do. Do it and set this up. Martin.

(59:56):
This didn't bother me at all. It actually made me
more of a jaylen Brunson. Yeah, for me, the.

Speaker 2 (01:00:04):
Conversation about how he's leaving money on the table, Like
all right, so like we heard this all the time
with like Tom Brady. He's like he's taking less money
to help the team. Sort of, right, right, sort of.
But now with the new CBA, I know it's not
sexy to talk about the Collective Party Agreement, but it is.

(01:00:25):
It is the rules of engagement, right, it is every
set of every team in the league, whichever league you're
root for, has a set rules of things they can
do and the set rules of things they can't do.

Speaker 3 (01:00:36):
That's called the CBA. The owners get on and the
players Association comes together and they figure it all out together.

Speaker 2 (01:00:42):
Right now, what it used to be was you have
luxury taxes and then to protect some of the other owners,
which kind of don't care for, but it is what
it is. To protect some of the other owners, they
not only made it a luxury tax and then the
repeater attacks, but also put in penalties that actively stop

(01:01:06):
your team or hurt your.

Speaker 1 (01:01:07):
Team's chances to win.

Speaker 3 (01:01:09):
It's called the dynasty killer. Right, It's called the dynasty killer.

Speaker 1 (01:01:15):
If you go into the first and second apron, your
ability to make moves at all is incredibly hampered. You
talk about go find another player, How about trying to
resign your own like that? This bis that much harder.
You want to trade a guy, you need to have
exact money coming back. You want a first Oh you
know what, don't worry, We'll just draft guys. Well, you

(01:01:37):
know what happened you for the second apron, your first
round pick goes automatically to the last one. You no
matter what, you have the thirtieth pick in the draft. Now,
some teams, like the suns.

Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
They say, after your second apron, I'll do whatever the
hell I wants.

Speaker 3 (01:01:51):
Their first round pick will be the last in the draft.

Speaker 2 (01:01:54):
There's very few mechanisms that exist anymore once you are
in that second ape and and honestly a lot of
the first apron things the punishment if you violate those things,
you're automatically in the second apron. If you're in that,
then all of a sudden, now you have like it
is restrictive against winning. They have made it competitive disadvantage

(01:02:16):
to be in this place. So what I think what
you'll see now is we had like like Brandon Ingram
was on a max contract. Right, that's not happening anymore.
The only players who will get max contracts are the
players who are the top five, six, seven best in
the league. It used to be you want a top
five guys, so you pay a top twenty guy like.

Speaker 4 (01:02:36):
He's top five.

Speaker 3 (01:02:37):
Yeah, right, yep, that's that. That's gone. That is over gone.
It's over, just like this segment is over.

Speaker 1 (01:02:45):
It's Steve the Seger is now gonna give this radio
show some class. What's up Steve?

Speaker 5 (01:02:50):

Great start for Dylan Ceese in San Diego. Padres lead
three nothing over the Braids, bottom of the eighth. Cease
in six innings, had eleven strikeouts. The Twins lead at

(01:05:05):
San Francisco three to two in the top of the eighth,
and the Cubs are ahead at Saint Louis four to
three in the fourth inning. That's the second of a
double header. In the opener at Saint Louis, Cardinals scored
nine times in the first inning and ended the Cubs
five game winning streak eleven to three. The Yankees got
Aaron Judges thirty fourth homer of the season, six to one.
Yanks win at Baltimore Detroit with five and the ninth

(01:05:27):
to tie and a homer in the tenth. Beat the
Dodgers eleven to nine. Texas in ten innings, one two
to one at Houston, and it was Philadelphia over Oakland
eleven to five. Baseball update, Padres four nothing over Atlanta.
Now bottom of the eighth. Manny Machado has hit a
home run.

Speaker 1 (01:05:42):
Back to you, thanks, Steve.

Speaker 3 (01:05:44):
Now sign for our next guests.

Speaker 2 (01:05:46):

FORO is Mark Medina, NBA insider, Fox Sports Radio Insider, Mark,
how you doing out there in Las Vegas?

Speaker 6 (01:05:55):
Stay cool, Martin.

Speaker 8 (01:05:57):
Yes, I am saying cool only because I'm inside.

Speaker 9 (01:06:00):
Man.

Speaker 8 (01:06:00):
It is brutal out here, but thankfully there's a lot
of fast fall to watch.

Speaker 2 (01:06:04):
The last time I was in Summer League, I noticed
the change in temperature walking from the main court in
Thomas and Mack to the auxiliary court.

Speaker 1 (01:06:11):
It was hot in the concourse. Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:06:15):
Who's been the hottest on the court that you've seen
so far out of the first and second year players
out there.

Speaker 8 (01:06:20):
Well, I think I was really impressed with the head
to head matchup with Alex Sar and Zach Zachary Buddachet.
I think Alex Sar in secular with how import rent
protector he is. You know when he talks to people
around the Wizards, he is not a finished product offensively,
but they feel like as a rint protector that he
could be what ched Hunger and from the city. So

(01:06:46):
in part so far. Ironically, guys, that wasn't the game
that got a lot of attention yesterday. I mean, the
fans emptied out before that game because they were all
there to see broad A.

Speaker 3 (01:06:58):
Yeah, hey, Mark, how you doing, buddy, Be good to
hear your voice.

Speaker 1 (01:07:02):
Man, you too, my man. Let's jump over to Team
USA because I know you've been there. I know you've
been covering that and following you on Twitter. So I'm
seeing that you're there at the practices and the scrimmage
and things like that. I kind of want to zone
in on my man, on my aunt, Man, my man,
Anthony Edwards. Oh, you mean the number one option.

Speaker 3 (01:07:17):
I've been.

Speaker 1 (01:07:17):
I've been very very I guess like halfway critical. I
love moxie, I love confidence and all of that. I
just thought that this may be the opportunity to just
kind of sit back and chill you around all these
other great players. Soak it all in. You're a young buckeroot.
You're probably gonna play on two, maybe three more Olympic teams,
just depend upon how.

Speaker 3 (01:07:35):
Your career goes. But I think I'm going in reverse
a little bit.

Speaker 10 (01:07:38):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:07:38):
I'm thinking maybe they need to implement his juice and
his fire and just his young athleticism, and maybe some
of the old guys need to take just a seat back.

Speaker 8 (01:07:47):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:07:48):
You've done it.

Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
You've won your gold medals.

Speaker 1 (01:07:49):
These guys have won championship, Steph Durrant and Lebron and
let maybe some of these young bucks kind of have
this floor here, man, where do you stand with Anthony Edwards?
And also to the I with Kerr about coming off
the beach, he goes, yeah, Wade came off the bench
when Kobe was on the team. He said, yeah, there's
no Kobe. We ain't got no Kobe. We ain't got
no Kobe. Where where do you stay with all of

(01:08:10):
this man, new Team USA and Anthony Edwards?

Speaker 8 (01:08:12):
Yeah, well, a lot of unpacked with Anthony Edwards. I
was there at his availability when he said that, and
when he said that he's the number one option, he
said it with a wink and a smile. So he
has a lot of confidence in himself and he's not
going to demote himself voluntarily. But I don't think that
if he's not getting Bote shot, you know, most playing time,
and he's going to complain, now, Steve Kerr, he loves

(01:08:34):
that moxy, he loves that attitude. I don't think it's
enough to say, Okay, Anthony Edwards, you are number one option.
Lebron James and Kevin Durant and Steph Curry has to
take a back seat, but he does want everyone on
that team to have that mindset that you know, you're
on the Olympic team for a reason, you're one of
the best players in the world, and be aggressive. I
will clarify the comment about coming off the bench. That

(01:08:56):
was Terry Bieba last year. So I think when Edwards
was saying, hey, there's no Kobe, he had a point.
He's on the you know, Feeble World Cup national team
where not top tier guys are playing. So I think
with USA, Steve Kirk cautioned every game is going to change,
even you know, group play and potential elimination games. But

(01:09:16):
if I had a guess, I think Anthony Edwards will
most likely come off the bench in most games then starting.
And here's why. Not only does that have to do
with the fact that it's a loaded USA team, but
I think that they'll feel like, hey, Ann be the
number one option for the second unit. Let Lebron James,
Kevin Durant and Steph Curry, Cook Joel and b can
be the big guy to have a physical presence, and

(01:09:38):
Drew Holliday can start because he can be utility guy.
I think if he were to start, you know, he
wouldn't obviously get the kind of shots that would make
him most effective as he would be on the second units.

Speaker 9 (01:09:49):
That's my guest.

Speaker 8 (01:09:50):
But you know what, it's really anyone's guess because Steve
Kirk caution game, the game is going to change.

Speaker 1 (01:09:56):
Mark you mentioned his name a few times. We've yet
to see him dribble, at least on TV.

Speaker 2 (01:10:01):
I'm sure you got us where what's the deal with
Kevin Durant and this calf because last time I heard
Kevin Durant have a calf muscle, he snapped his achilles
and was going.

Speaker 8 (01:10:08):
Fore it's wild here because prior to their exhibition against
Canada they ruled him out, but Steve Kerr was pretty
optimistic that he would play for the game against Australia
and Abu Dhabi next week. But now that's up in
the air. Now here's the version of events. Kevin Durant

(01:10:28):
so that he tweaked his calf a little bit during
individual workouts shortly before Team USA practice started. He alerted everyone.
He insisted to Steve Kerr that he feels fine. Steve
Kerr is down playing it, pus to your point, when
he had a calf injury in twenty nineteen. When he
came back, he snapped his achilles, So they say it's minor,

(01:10:49):
but you know, we obviously have to wait and see
if that's actually the case.

Speaker 1 (01:10:54):
If it isn't more than that, what's the last, I guess,
drop dead date for the team US to add new
players that already passed or could is it potential that
he could be replaced?

Speaker 8 (01:11:05):
From my understanding, I think that the deadline hasn't passed
until you know, actual group play starts and so you know,
if Heaven forbid, they determined that this is a serious
injury that goes beyond day to day, there could be replacement.
Maybe Jalen Brown finally gets on the same butt. I

(01:11:26):
I'm not going to always take everyone for worse in
regards to injuries, but I think because Kevin Durant has
already accomplished so much as an Olympian, he's the all
time leads scorts Team USA history right that if it
were a serious enough injury, he would have already withdrawn
because it wouldn't have been worth it. But again, we
have to wait and see.

Speaker 3 (01:11:47):
Mart Let's rewind a little bit.

Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
But it has been a while since we talked to you, man,
we've gone through the draft, We've gone through the finals
in the playoffs and everything and new coaching hire. I
just want to ask a question about my beloved Detroit
piss as that hit my over on twelve wins last year.
We all have challenge for him by Marin in December
when everyone in a twenty three game Losey Street to
get the fourteen. I love the bigger staff, higher, Tobias,
Harris Beasley, Hardaway junior, they draft holland Trajan Langdon's in there.

(01:12:12):
It feels it feels different. I'm pretty sure you know
about the presser and then he's saying all the right things.
I told Martin thirty thirty five wins, man, I feel
like they're going.

Speaker 3 (01:12:21):
In the right direction.

Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
Do you like what the Pistons are doing and what
they're trying to put together and Trajan Langdon put in
his stamping in of course k gets the two fifty
six super Max deal. What are your feelings on my
on my beloved Pissons. Can I get the thirty to
thirty five wins next year?

Speaker 8 (01:12:35):
Yeah, I'll give you thirty thirty five wins. I mean, look,
Detroit Pistons are so god awful last season that it
can't go anywhere but up. So I don't think that's
gonna change, you know, where they continue the plummet.

Speaker 9 (01:12:48):
I like JB.

Speaker 8 (01:12:48):
Bickerstaff, even though clearly Cleveland's found some shortcomings with him
enough to fire him. I think that most of their
shortcomings had to do with injuries. Jap's been a good
coach having Luke Walton his assistant. He's shown that, you know,
outside of the Lakers nonsense, that he can be a
good coach as well. And Kay Cunningham was really the
only bright spot last season. Nope, brainer to give him

(01:13:11):
an extension. And I do like what I'm seeing was
Ron Hiland. I was watching his summer league game earlier
today and he runs the floor with aggression. So I'm
to a three man weave where he's passing an open teammate.

Speaker 9 (01:13:22):
They missed the.

Speaker 8 (01:13:23):
Open shot of boom, He's there for the putback. He
seems like a guy that's all about playing both ways
at both ends sides of the floor. He hustles and
he puts in the work. So yeah, I think that
you will be correct on the wind hole for the visits.

Speaker 1 (01:13:37):
Awesome thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:13:38):
Would I be correct Mark in my assumption that you've
been in Vegas for a little how long two weeks
now from Team USA to our summer league.

Speaker 8 (01:13:45):
Well, a little secret here I went for I was
at Team USA practice last Friday, but I got back
to La Tuesday night just to try to sneak in
some quality of home life here, and then I came
back to Vegas Friday morning. So I did smart for trips.
And as someone, as I'm sure you guys know, being

(01:14:05):
in Vegas, there is a value in making her Vegas
trip shorter.

Speaker 2 (01:14:08):
Oh, I have one, especially the value that comes to
my pocket because I'm not sitting at the tables. But
the question I have for you tomorrow over under twenty
five minutes spent outside during the day, I'm gonna have
to take the under on you do.

Speaker 3 (01:14:22):
What would you say?

Speaker 9 (01:14:23):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:14:23):
Under?

Speaker 9 (01:14:24):
What's out a doubt?

Speaker 8 (01:14:24):
I mean, the only time I'm stepping outside is what
I'm going to into a Lyft drive and when I'm
going to go into the arena. The rest of the
time it's in the gym, it's in the casino. I
will stress it's mostly in the gym, but there may
or may be there may be some times in the casino.
Haven't lost money yet, but that's just because I haven't
played any bets yet.

Speaker 2 (01:14:44):
Well, hey, go ahead, you know what the mirage right now,
I think it's still going on. They gotta pay out
one point six million before they close down. So take
one of those Ziff rides over there and play the lot.
You might just get lucky. But we're always lucky. Having
Mark mcdein on the show, Thanks for coming on, my friend.
Appreciate and stay cool out there.

Speaker 1 (01:15:00):
Man.

Speaker 8 (01:15:01):
I appreciate you guys as always. I'm just gonna throw
this out there. Six years ago, walked out with a
few hundred bucks on the rolette table. Maybe, uh, you know,
I get some luck again this year.

Speaker 2 (01:15:10):
Good luck, good luck, God bless Mark Man. There was
this time I was at this I was at I
was at the last time was at Summer League.

Speaker 3 (01:15:16):
I was at a party. I can't remember what cause
I think it was the Aria.

Speaker 2 (01:15:20):
And I looked over and I've I've had a couple,
uh you know what, the daddy sodas as they said,
I was daddy juice.

Speaker 3 (01:15:26):
You know, I was out on my feet, you know,
out on my feet, and I.

Speaker 1 (01:15:31):
Looked at the I had. I had a couple of money,
a couple of hundred bucks I won in my pocket.
I looked at that.

Speaker 2 (01:15:36):
It was a black dat table in the party, and
I've better pulling my phone out, text my girlfriend this said,
if I go over there, I'm gonna lose all the
money in my pocket. Yeah, and put my phone right bicking,
And I didn't do it.

Speaker 1 (01:15:47):
Shout out to me, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:15:49):

Speaker 10 (01:16:30):
All right, everybody, it is time for the sensations sweeping

Speaker 4 (01:16:43):
They're gonna try to work these in more frequently.

Speaker 1 (01:16:47):
I got it. Let's go.

Speaker 10 (01:16:48):
Anyways, it's time to play for a little game of
who you got. I'll go with our few couple hints
and all stuff, and curiously want hiss with some of that.
There we go, Yeah, we got some wants to be
a millionaire music. With that said, we're gonna go with
the theme. And what's been the theme all day? What
does it smell like today?

Speaker 1 (01:17:04):
Boys? Football?

Speaker 4 (01:17:07):
We're going in football? Tokay, baby? So what's that said?
Let's go with first three hints? We got number one.

Speaker 10 (01:17:13):
This man is a five time Pro bowler, three time
first team All Pro, and he actually made second team
All Pro once.

Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
In his career.

Speaker 4 (01:17:22):
That said, let's go to number two.

Speaker 10 (01:17:25):
He played and went to college for South Carolina his
entire career. And let's go with number three, the last
one of the three. He is a former first round pick.
So with that said, Martin VJ.

Speaker 4 (01:17:42):
Who you got?

Speaker 1 (01:17:44):
Five time Pro Bowl, three time All Pro, first round pick,
South Carolina? I think I might got it.

Speaker 4 (01:17:55):
I got I'm a little concerned.

Speaker 2 (01:17:57):
Let's see the first guy I was gonna pick. I'll
go off by the first guy just in case this
ocase hold on. The first guy pick was the defensive
line clown.

Speaker 4 (01:18:08):
Hey, that's pretty good, but no, I think you need
to make fire Pro Bowls.

Speaker 1 (01:18:14):
But this guy definitely did.

Speaker 4 (01:18:15):
Who you got, VJ?

Speaker 10 (01:18:16):
Who you got?

Speaker 1 (01:18:17):
South Carolina? Man, it's a tough one for me because
because that first round pick too. Mm hmm oh, that
throws it off exact. See that feel, That's what I'm saying,
that that first round pick out of South Carolina. That's
that's the one that's getting me. Man, I'm trying to

(01:18:38):
think of. It feels defensive back of receiver. It's not
an offensive lineman. I know that for sure. It's not
a no lineman, so we can mark that off. It's
not a d lineman. I don't believe.

Speaker 4 (01:18:48):
I want to take a shot in the dark before
we move on.

Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
To man, Oh my goodness, gracious, where we could pass? Yeah,
because the guy has hit my mind. Just got to
leave all right. I was gonna say, I was gonna say,
leg it the receiver, but he's but he's.

Speaker 10 (01:19:05):
He's not a pro bowler yet at all. All right,
let's go. I'll give you once it only got five.
Stick with the five here. Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:19:12):
He is a one time.

Speaker 10 (01:19:14):
Forced fumbles leader one seat for one season in his
illustrious career forced He's a forced fumble leader, not the
leader of the of it all, but for one season
he was.

Speaker 1 (01:19:25):
One season he led the league forced fumble.

Speaker 4 (01:19:27):
Yes, correct, Gilmore, No, but I like that Gilmour, who.

Speaker 1 (01:19:33):
Though just no, that was gonna be Yeah, that not
that hit my mind too. But I like that though.
But this feels like now now, I thought it was Debo,
but I don't think Debo has ever forced not at all.
Feel this feels defensive endings forced fumbles. Just it's not
a d beat on man. Yeah, I was gonna I

(01:19:55):
was gonna say Stephan Gilmore, but I know that, I
know that the name I got right.

Speaker 4 (01:19:58):
Now, Okay, I'm gonna go with our last hint since
for the sake of time too. Uh, thank you. He
has played for three teams in his illustrious NFL career.
He played for.

Speaker 10 (01:20:11):
Vj's favorite bomb ass Jets. Uh, the Atlanta Falcons and
the Arizona Cardinals. I had to VJ shout out, shout
out to my boy for the Bomas Jets.

Speaker 1 (01:20:23):
I was thinking it was Mario Williams. Didn't you go
to South Carolina? I went to Uh, don't worry about
don't worry I was wrong. You figure out who this
is forced fumble leader, Jets Falcons and who else? Jets
Falcons and who else?

Speaker 10 (01:20:37):
Jets, Falcons and Cardinals Arizona South Carolina.

Speaker 1 (01:20:41):
No right, Jets, Falcons and Cardinals led the league in
fumble force fumbles.

Speaker 4 (01:20:47):
Come on the results may shock.

Speaker 1 (01:20:49):
He's about I know it's oh man, you have another clue? No,
I don't. I feel like I do. And I'm seeing
a Falcon uniform.

Speaker 4 (01:20:56):
Now, what's only five right now?

Speaker 6 (01:20:58):
For me?

Speaker 1 (01:20:58):
I got the five?

Speaker 4 (01:20:59):
Yeah, you give up?

Speaker 1 (01:21:01):
Fold.

Speaker 4 (01:21:02):
The man's name is John Abraham.

Speaker 1 (01:21:05):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (01:21:07):
You boys got a dumb today.

Speaker 1 (01:21:08):
Baby man, cover it up. Next.

Speaker 2 (01:21:12):

maybe about six seven hours before the shows that both
sports to start and it is an all caps It says.

Speaker 1 (01:21:55):
From the Big Vanilla Sports desk.

Speaker 4 (01:21:59):
Like the desk of Big Big Vanilla Sports, and.

Speaker 2 (01:22:04):
The number one thing on the lift today from the
desk something Big Vanilla.

Speaker 1 (01:22:12):
Was you guys know you love it. You love it.

Speaker 4 (01:22:15):
That's how I know it's every Saturday morning personally.

Speaker 3 (01:22:18):
Right, wake up MS. It's just from.

Speaker 2 (01:22:25):
The number one thing on your lift today was Jalen
Brown and Kyrie Irving left off of the Olympic team.
And he'll and he'll normally preference I have a very
outspoken opinion on this. That's that's to make sure that
it gets on there. But also to guys, listen, you're lucky.
You don't get this text Wednesday night. You're lucky you
don't get this Thursday night.

Speaker 3 (01:22:45):
You're lucky.

Speaker 1 (01:22:46):
I hold it. When Martin and I first start the show,
I was doing the rundowns. I would email at the
Martin on like Thursday marks like hey, look bro. I
was like, listen, man, we know what the we know
what the bulk stuff is gonna be. We get changed.
I get excited, guys, and I am working on my
anxiety through my therapy and through my spiritual growth. I'm
learning I need more patience. And that's why I wait
till Saturday morning.

Speaker 9 (01:23:05):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:23:06):
We first started, Martin. The first text message, I said, Martin,
honest to God truth, it was a Tuesday for a
Saturday show, just like this. Wow, I was, I was, dude,
I was. But guess what though, who knows what's going
to happen between now and Saturday. But we talked about
three things off my Tuesday text though, but that was
nine things on it.

Speaker 3 (01:23:25):
That's the problem. That's cool.

Speaker 1 (01:23:26):
That means per that means I'm shooting like Brownie in
Summer League. Baby, It's all good and everybody think that's okay.

Speaker 4 (01:23:32):
Honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Speaker 10 (01:23:34):
On a Saturday, I would I wake up like around
eight or nine, like on the Pacific time over here,
and I wake up just phone like.

Speaker 4 (01:23:41):
From the desk of Big Vanilla Funny, and I'm like, oh,
there he is.

Speaker 8 (01:23:46):
There we go.

Speaker 4 (01:23:46):
I'm like, oh, I got my morning wake up text.

Speaker 1 (01:23:48):
Let's go. Hey, listen, After I do my my meditation,
I pray in the morning, the first thing I do
is grab my phone and text you got Before I
get on.

Speaker 3 (01:23:54):
Social media, before I do anything.

Speaker 4 (01:23:56):
It's usually the first thing I see every Saturday morning.

Speaker 1 (01:23:58):
Legitimately, Hey, listen, man, That's how I gets Now.

Speaker 3 (01:24:01):
So this teams a thing got put together. And yes,
I have a huge opinion about this.

Speaker 1 (01:24:05):
I know people are gonna balk at you guys gonna
love this though, but I know people are gonna balk
at there are three people, in my opinion, that shouldn't
be on this team. There are three guys on this
team they shouldn't be on this team. And I got
some examples of the past. I could do without kd
calf injury. I could do without Steph. You want it,
you you know you you probably should be focusing on

(01:24:25):
what Golden State's probably gonna do. Get your body ready.
I think that's the reason why he is on the team,
because okay, that's fine. And then Lebron James. Those three
guys Lebron this first time was back in for twenty
years removed. Now I know people will say, well, you
need the stars, you need we're USA. If you tell
me we take those three guys off and we add

(01:24:46):
these three names that I want, Brunton, Brown and Kyrie
someone's beating us. You tell me that those three names
are gonna make this big of a difference. And even
though we just have Mark Medeena on. He expressed that
if Steve Kerr said, listen, it's going to change, it's
going to fluctuate. They're not gonna run the veterans into
the ground in Paris. Guys, we're gonna get a lot

(01:25:08):
of Anthony Edwards. We're gonna get a lot of at
a Bio, We're gonna get a lot of ad We're
gonna get a lot of these younger.

Speaker 3 (01:25:15):
Guys that are there.

Speaker 1 (01:25:16):
And the reason why I go to this is because
that's normally was the pattern of USA basketball. You start
with the dream team, most of those none of those
guys played in ninety six. Ninety six fielded almost a
completely different team, the same thing in two thousand. In
two thousand, you had KG, you had Vince who jumped
over a seven foot human being and dunked over him.

(01:25:39):
You had KG, you had Kid, you had GP, you
had Zo. If you go to four even from the
ninety six to the two thousand team, no grand Hill,
no KG, no Shack like they got their one shit,
they got their one gold medal. And then those guys
were all still young, Shack still in his prime, KG,
still in his prime. They all went on and for listen,
we got other things to do here, you guys have it.

(01:25:59):
It just felt like there was always a passing of
the baton. If you go to the old four team,
we know that's the team that finished. Lebronz didn't do
very well. A I was a team captain, Tim Duncan.
They were twenty eight, twenty nine years old, and you
also had Carmelo Starberry and lebron James. We're on those
teams also too. And then as you go on through
the years, we I feel like we just keep putting

(01:26:20):
the same, the same guys out there. I always feel
like the Olympics from year to year. Yes you have
your Michael Phelps, Yes you have your your your Florence
Griffith Joan, your Florid Griffith Jordan who had her one
run and sold. Yes you have Usain Boat who won
one hundred and three straight Olympics. And you have those
individual you know, players that that could go back because

(01:26:41):
you gotta go back to the window one hundred, right,
you gotta go back. I just feel like we it's
like we're trying to sam bag awards, We're trying to
sand bag medals. I think this team would have been
much Kawhi's already out right. I think this team would
be better served if we just listen, guys over thirty
five and you had your time, But why not Brunson,

(01:27:03):
Why not Jaylen Brown? Why not Kyrie Irvin. We're not
gonna lose because you don't have these three guys on
I for one, woul It said, listen, we're going with
the youth movement. Lebron, you're forty, you've been doing you've
been here. You this would be twenty years since you
started your first Olympic. You know KD once against got

(01:27:23):
the calf. He's not even playing right now. Kawhi checked out.
They said, yeah, once we watched him. We're like, yeah,
let's go ahead. Why was he even invited? Why is
he even on the team. He's been there, he's done this.
He can't suit up for the regular season for the Clippers.
You want him to go represent USA and Paris. I
just think it's time. I think we should get back
to maybe put in a cap on USA participation for

(01:27:45):
Lake team USA. He's like, look, you get two Olympics.
All right, cool, let's usher in the game. Let's usher
some of these new guys. Could you imagine just paint
this picture and this Marn's guy. If there's no Steph,
there's no KD, there's no Lebron. Who's the face, who's
the star? We know this is Ann Edwards. We know
the world knows who's coming. We we got the face.

(01:28:05):
We got the new next young guy. People say he's
Jordan people I didn't go there, but people say, oh no,
this is the next new guy coming in. He would
have the full focus of the team, in the in
the paparazzi and everything that comes with it. And it
would be fine. I just think we're getting to the
point sending these if they're the older players, guys, sending

(01:28:27):
these guys over it just it just feels like, and
I can't say why each individual guy did it, but
it just feels like we're it's samback, we want to
make sure we were gonna win the gold medal.

Speaker 9 (01:28:38):
Guy.

Speaker 3 (01:28:38):
I don't think which one is it though.

Speaker 2 (01:28:40):
Because I come up here and say they're gonna they're
gonna win every game by an average margin of twenty points. Yeah,
And everybody calls me, like, I'm ridiculous, and I just
know you just don't watch international basketball, so all and
so forth.

Speaker 3 (01:28:55):
Or do we send some of the best players in
the NBA?

Speaker 1 (01:28:58):
Like I like?

Speaker 2 (01:28:59):
I like because it feels like there's two sides of
the different argument, because like, I think you should send
probably some of the best players that are out there.

Speaker 1 (01:29:06):
I don't have any problem with the roster as it
was still medal. Would we still win the gold medal
if you took my route, take those three off.

Speaker 2 (01:29:14):
I think the second team right now, I think the
second team right now would be still prohibited favorites to
win the gold medal.

Speaker 1 (01:29:21):
And I'm with you. That's what that's the point I'm making, though,
do we need Lebron, Stephen KD and these Olympics for
Team US?

Speaker 10 (01:29:27):
So?

Speaker 1 (01:29:27):
Wait, so I suppose just a couple of days ago,
you were telling me that I gotta look out for France,
I gotta look out for Canada. I just but I
still think we can beat them though I didn't say
they're being us.

Speaker 2 (01:29:39):
But if you're gonna you're gonna take three starters off
the team like then, I just so everybody just shut
the hell up. Then about telling me how good everybody
else is internationally. If we could take three starters off
of this time, I gave you just two countries.

Speaker 1 (01:29:53):
I think only two countries can compete with There's only
twelve in the tournament, okay, so only two could compete
with us. That means seven of them can't. There's only
two that compete with US. Bro, I think France and
Canada they got a shot to make it interesting. Nobody's
beating US. I just don't think we're winning every game
by twenty like you think. I think an average margins
of victory will be at least twenty points. I like
fourteen to fifteen. I like fourteen to fifteen, because I

(01:30:15):
do believe that they will have games where they call
the dogs off. This is not we need to prove
anything to the world. That's the point of this is
not a we are the best in basketball. I know
it looked great that France, and it was a great
talking point that France had a bunch of top players
drafted this year. But at the end of the day,
this is still an American sport. It's global. But if
we put out like you said, like you said, we

(01:30:37):
put out our second unit, we are still going to
beat the rest of the world. Yes there's a Yo Kics,
Yes there's a Luca. Luca's not even in it. Janni's
had this scrap to get grease in it. Let's be real.
I saw Puerto Rico shot out to all Maria's out there.
I got you, but you ain't got a shot to do.

Speaker 9 (01:30:53):
Not with us.

Speaker 1 (01:30:54):
It's gonna look good, it's gonna feel good until we
up by thirty. I just feel like I like the
way it used to be from Olympic to Olympic. The
guys rotated out. You don't have to hog the spot
like like, honestly, these three guys have zero The show.

Speaker 2 (01:31:09):
Is zero to proof that's never played in the Olympics.
It's you're true, you're right, you're right, don't get right,
I don't fall. But you could have played. You probably
could have played already.

Speaker 1 (01:31:20):
Maybe you know. Maybe it's I don't want to say
past your time. Well that's what you're saying. But at
the end of at the end of the day, that's
what you are saying. I would like I would like
maybe a piece of it. Okay, fine, maybe a piece
of it. At the end of the day, I think
I would like to wear I would like a cap
on it. Man, Like, let's get we we we we
complained that the the NBA doesn't market all the players

(01:31:41):
and it just focuses on four or five guys, and okay, well,
we got an opportunity here to show the world who
Jleb Brunson is. Well, only five players from last year's
Olympics are on this Olympic team. What's the five?

Speaker 2 (01:31:54):
Bam bam, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Drew Holliday, Jason Tatum.

Speaker 1 (01:31:59):
Jason Tata Ron and go to the last Olympics.

Speaker 2 (01:32:01):
I'm looking at it right twenty twenty one, because you remember,
would have been twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (01:32:05):
But obviously we did it in twenty one. Yeah, we
did in twenty twenty one. Yeah, he's not on the list. Okay,
I I thought I thought Lebron playing in the last one.
But okay, that's fine, but you can still take No,
he did play in the last one. I don't know
why he's not on No. Wait, hold on, no to
say Lebron he did an Olympics, he didn't. I misread this.
Dyslexia struck again, this has history.

Speaker 2 (01:32:24):
Lebron Cord is a triple double at twenty twelve Olympics,
not the twenty twenty one Olympics.

Speaker 1 (01:32:30):
Oh god, yeah. Every time I hear the word DYSLEXI
I think about THEO Huxtable. Anyway, like that, that's fine,
five K five.

Speaker 2 (01:32:38):
The rest of the players that were on this roster
for this NBA dot compost is Jeremy Grant, Draymond Green,
Keldon Johnson, Zach Lavine, Damiel Lilla, Kevin loved Vailghee, and
Chris Middleton.

Speaker 1 (01:32:47):
Where they win last where they win the Olympics. God, okay,
but did you just hear the guys you just named?
Did you hear the guys you just named and they
won gold. I just think it's okay to say, look,
you had your time once again. Duran can't even play,
and I just would like it to go back to
where it felt like, you know, guys rotated in and
out and guys got their gold medal, and they should.

(01:33:09):
Shaq could have played three Olympics if he was KG
could have played again. There's guys that could have done it.
But I felt like it was more of an not
let the young bucks get this, like, we're no one
can beat us, no one can beat us, So why
not show the world who Jalen Brown is? Why not
show the world who brunts in this that that's my
We know who Steph Lebron and kd are. Real talk,

(01:33:30):
we know who those guys are. They're not gonna do
anything in the Olympics that's gonna make anybody go wow.
I've never seen Steph hit a thirty foot three before.

Speaker 2 (01:33:38):
Point of the NBA is to show the world who
these players are. The point of the Olympics is to
win the gold medal. I have no problem with the
construction of the team. The only problem I did have
was Kawhi Leonard. And there's one thing that I don't
necessarily love you like k there, I don't have a
problem with them. I don't have a problem with the
calf now and stuff. Well that's what's saying. If he
can't play it, then go home, Like but that's I'm

(01:34:00):
you can't. You can't sit on the Olympic bench.

Speaker 1 (01:34:02):
To me hurt. If he goes over there and plays
very little, would you would your reaction be, bro.

Speaker 2 (01:34:08):
That's like you taking up a sim wouldn't have I mean,
that's what I expect the Kawhi to do is play
very little, and ultimately when it gets down to the
games that you know matter like this game tomorrow, and
he doesn't matter our Monday and it doesn't matter like
the game of his candidatedn't matter his exhibition games. When
it comes down to knockout stage, I expect the roster

(01:34:28):
to o the rotation rather to tighten up.

Speaker 3 (01:34:30):
We're gonna, we're gonna win the group.

Speaker 1 (01:34:32):
I saw the group day, but we're gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:34:33):
But I still expect the roster to tighten up a little.

Speaker 2 (01:34:35):
So he's not gonna be doing hockey line changes of
five people at that he might not be surprised.

Speaker 3 (01:34:41):
He might have we're up twenty five thirty. Listen, take us.

Speaker 1 (01:34:43):
See, guys, we're gonna run. I think I think. I
don't think he'll just run the starters forever. But what
I'm saying there will not be a wholesale line change
like Caliparia at Kentucky and Devin Booker's freshman year when
they were literally Devin Booker, they were running out five
starters and then the whole second team of five more starters.
Like question, who is this team in scoring? Who comes

(01:35:05):
out of Olympics leading them in score? Number one option? Okay,
at about thirteen, because I've looked up some of the leaders.
It always over the last like eight or nine Olympics.
It always fluctuates between like thirteen, fourteen to fifteen points.
I think it would be either ant or Jason Tatum. Ooh, okay,
I'm with you those two. Those two guys would be
my first. I'm gonna take Tatum.

Speaker 2 (01:35:23):
I will say this, there is one thing that I
think needs to shape up in Team USA. It's not
a cost for concern, because do not worry the golden
medal man as, We'll just mail it early.

Speaker 3 (01:35:32):
But there's one thing that I think has to switch up.

Speaker 2 (01:35:37):
If it doesn't start to look better, we'll get to
that coming up next to Martin Wis's Vja Husky Fox
Sports Radio. This may be one move I want to
see out of Team USA before things get real.

Speaker 3 (01:35:47):
But right now, let's go ahead and look at some
of these tweets.

Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
I'm Martin Wis's on the Twitter Machine VJs at Big
Vanilla Funny and of course we're coming to you live
from the tire IRAQ dot com studios. We got what
day saying, let's see George Sands with another trivia question One.
Former Clippers draft pick number four in the nation won
three NBA titles as a player. A number Clipper number
four pick one two titles as a player.

Speaker 1 (01:36:08):
Who are they? I have no idea. So it's not
Danny Manning drafted as a Clipper. It's not Elton Bryan Man.
Uh wow, it's gonna be somebody obscure. I know because George. Listen, George,
George is my guy? What's up? George? George inboxes me

(01:36:28):
like autograph stuff? He this guy? Man? Is this guy's
deep in it? I George just tweedy to us man,
I have no I had no.

Speaker 2 (01:36:35):
Idea Brendan B eighty one says Aaron Rodgers just being
Aaron Rodgers until proven true. Everything he says should be
taken with a grain of salt. That's for Davante, who
will give the Raiders a decent off of him. The
only one I'd like is Gary Wilson and two first
for divine Ah.

Speaker 3 (01:36:50):
There it is.

Speaker 1 (01:36:51):
We do great minds. The Hey, if you're a's got
that power, he can make it happen. Man, go ahead
with your team. I'm interesting to hear and what you
got here.

Speaker 2 (01:37:01):
So I know that the starting lineup that started Game
one Exhibition one versus Canada may not be the full
starting lineup and probably won't be. Actually as imagine that
Kevin Durant will probably be inserted into that starting lineup
when in.

Speaker 3 (01:37:16):
Fact his calf heals all the way.

Speaker 2 (01:37:20):
But I do not think that former League MVP Joel
Embiid's game is going to adjust well to the international
game unless he decides to make a change.

Speaker 1 (01:37:34):
Since Joel Embiid has.

Speaker 2 (01:37:35):
Been in the NBA, he has been the focal point
of his team at every single moment, right no matter
who was around him, who was past, it was always
the process.

Speaker 3 (01:37:45):
If he does not get on the block. To borrow
you to sound like Charles Barkley.

Speaker 2 (01:37:50):
If he does not turn around and get his big
behind on the blot, I don't know how valuable he
is unless Team USA is playing Irbia with Nicole each exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:38:01):
No, I'm one with you. He looks, he looks, he
looks lost out there.

Speaker 2 (01:38:06):
I think that in B if he if we don't
see improvement over these next couple exhibition games, and B
he's gotta go to the bench. I'm not saying you
bench him the whole time. I'm saying he's got to
come off with the second unit.

Speaker 1 (01:38:20):
I thought you were gonna say you send them home,
But you know what, that's a bit too hard.

Speaker 3 (01:38:26):
No, it's not.

Speaker 1 (01:38:27):
I would like that. Hey, we made a mistake, so
we're not gonna compound it by making another mistake. That's
why I I really and I'm not oppressed to guys
to how the teams are chosen.

Speaker 3 (01:38:37):
I know guys got pulled.

Speaker 1 (01:38:39):
I know you can't tell certain guys no, like like,
can Steve Kurt really tell Lebron he's not starting a
game any Olympics guys, I don't think. So we'll see,
But I don't think so. But it's if you can
put the once you put the team together and you
start having exhibitions and you have the blue and White game,
and you start having these these actual games, if you
look and go, man, oh goodness, we might have made

(01:39:02):
a mistake with that guy. Before you get on the
plane and travel over the ocean to whatever country of
the Olympics is in, it'll be here in America the
next ones. Hey, and you might we can make a change.
All the players understand this. The selection committee understands this.
Grant Hill seven oh three in the build in South
Lakes High School, he has a really big hand in this.

(01:39:23):
And players got to let go to hey, look, man,
we thought you would be a good pick, but you
for the international game because it is a different game.
We just have better players.

Speaker 3 (01:39:32):
But it is a different game, and I agree with you.

Speaker 1 (01:39:36):
He looks the laying is bigger. Yep. You get less
fouls flagrant and technical.

Speaker 2 (01:39:40):
Files as count as fouls to your personal foul count.
So this is Embiid who at no point in his
career has averaged less than three foules a season. I
mean the three files of game four season, right, So
he's just continually fouling people. He looks like he's still
recovering from his knee injuries. He's moving a little bit
slower than you'd like to out there. The referees and

(01:40:02):
Olympic basketball are not nearly as good as the NBA referees,
who are not nearly very good at all.

Speaker 3 (01:40:07):
So you have that also going for you.

Speaker 2 (01:40:10):
And then Joel Embiid had two flagr foules and six
games against the Knicks in the first round, you know,
so it's like, you know, those fouls will count as
personal fouls in the so like if you're gonna count
on him to be an anchor of a defensive like
the defensive anchor of the first team, I think you're
better served with Anthony Davis patrolling that spot.

Speaker 1 (01:40:29):
How often do you think they will go to the
monitor to review in the Olympics. That's gonna be really interesting.
I don't even know if that's something they can do. Really,
I don't know either, Okay, yeah, I would love to,
you know what, I'll research and to find out. I'll
bring you out, guys back an answer next week, because I,
like I said, Martin, I just think there's a couple
of teams that can hang. I don't think that may

(01:40:50):
make an interesting No one's gonna beat us. But when
you got a guy like m Bid, like I said,
he just looks he looks lost out there. He elbowed
the hell out of home while White pal. Yeah, and
that didn't that he'd sent him home. Man and Cooper
real talk, Colooper Cooper flat was giving him business. He's
given him work. He can't stay on the perimeter. Uh
with with tall athletic longer, you know, longer, any.

Speaker 2 (01:41:13):
Davis is a slightly better fit. He's just start in
the starting lineup. Hey, he should start, and who knows
he may?

Speaker 1 (01:41:19):
He may because again, like like they said, this is
far from a finished product in terms of this roster.
But I think Adi should start every game. Regardless you can,
you can move out the other four. But I think
a d should start every basketball, every Olympic game. Him
and Ant let's get give him an put in at
the two, will put Ad down low start and then
to rotate the other three those two guys.

Speaker 2 (01:41:40):
I think they're gonna use Anton Tatum off the bench. Man,
I think they'll use Ant Tatum off the bench to
use second unit scoring.

Speaker 1 (01:41:47):
Hmm. I'm very interesting to see how Steve Kerr is
gonna do this. It's got my full attention. I want
to see these starting lineups. How much are you really
gonna Teak or was that just lip service to keep
the noise down? Because he's a he's a veteran coach,
he knows how to do this with the media.

Speaker 2 (01:42:00):
I think the only two guys that are locked right
now in the starting spots will be Lebron James Steph Curry.

Speaker 1 (01:42:06):
All right, how could do the sport. Let's kick it
over to Steve the sega Steve, what's trending? Mike, I
didn't say that.

Speaker 5 (01:42:17):
The same Anthony Davis off the bench in that Wednesday
exhibition against Canada nineteen minutes, had ten points, eleven rebounds,
four blocks, Anthony Edwards thirteen points off the bench, Steph
Curry started had twelve points, and you mentioned Joel Embiid
five points, four turnovers, five fouls.

Speaker 4 (01:42:36):
US had to come back to beat Canada eighty six
seventy two.

Speaker 5 (01:42:39):
The Americans were down eleven to one early and in fact,
the US had seven turnovers in the first nine minutes.
The next US Men's Olympic tune up games are Monday
and Wednesday from Abu Dhabi on FS one. Keep in
mind with the time difference. Those are noon Eastern games
Monday and Wednesday, US against Australia, then US against Serbia.

(01:42:59):
After that, the Americans have two exhibitions in London. The
Olympic Tournament starts July twenty eighth, and the opener will
be against Serbia. In the NBA Summer League in Vegas,
Charlotte got twenty three points from Brandon Miller in a
win over New York, and Miami picked up twenty nine
points from Heimi hock Is in a win over Boston.
Chicago beat Milwaukee Adamasonogo seventeen points twelve rebounds. The Charlotte

(01:43:23):
Hornets are signing veteran Taj Gibson in Charlotte Tonight. Uruguay
won the Copa America third place game on penalty kicks
against Canada. The final is in Miami tomorrow night at
eight pm Eastern time on Fox TV, Argentina against Columbia.
Argentina rank number one in the world. It has but
three losses in its last sixty three games. Colombia is

(01:43:45):
unbeaten in its last twenty eight games over the last
two and a half years since a loss to Argentina,
and also on Fox TV tomorrow at three pm Eastern time,
the Euro Soccer final from Berlin, Spain against England. US
women's soccer won a pre Olympic exhibition in New Jersey today,
beating Mexico. Won nothing. The team sendoff matches Tuesday in

(01:44:06):
DC against Costa Rica. The WNBA. In a week has
the US Olympic women's hoops team in a sendoff game
against a team of WNBA stars. Today in the WNBA
two games LA one at Dallas, New York now twenty
and four a winner at Chicago, Angel Rees of Chicago
at eight points sixteen rebounds. She was three of thirteen

(01:44:27):
shooting from the floor. The Wimbledon Women's final went to
Barbara Kraichkova in three sets. In the last eight years,
eight different women have won the Wimbledon title. Ludwig Oberg
leads the Scottish Open by two strokes over Scotland's Robert McIntyre.
The British Open is next week. Wide receiver Adam Thielend
fell to a tie for third at the Celebrity Golf
tournament at Lake Tahoe. Guys Marty FISHEX of tennis is

(01:44:51):
in the lead. Joe Pavelski X of hockey is second,
and then Thiland third, tied for fourth. Former baseball pitchers
Derek Lowe and Mark and women's golf legend Anica Sorenstam
is up to sixth place. John Smolds down to a
tie for ninth. Ray Allen is in the top ten.
By the way, usually it's Charles Barkley at the bottom

(01:45:11):
of this celebrity tournament, but there are ninety golfers and
he's tied for fifty first, tied with Roger Clemens. It
was Alex Rodriguez dead last after day one. This weekend,
ay Rod now eighty ninth place out of ninety golfers.
Miles Teller is in dead last. To Major League Baseball,
the late game is in Arizona. Diamondbacks lead the Blue

(01:45:32):
Jays one nothing top of the second, Angels now lead
to to one over the Mariners bottom of the third,
and the Cubs are playing two at Saint Louis. The
opener went to the Cardinals with nine runs in the
first inning, eleven to three, the final, ending a Cub's
five game winning streak. Cubs, though are leading the nightcap
top of the eighth, four to three at Saint Louis,
the Yankees got an Aaron Judge homer Is thirty fourth

(01:45:53):
and one at Baltimore six to one. The Orioles have
lost five in a row. Yankees and Orioles now tied
for first in the Al East. The All Star Break
gets here after tomorrow's games. The All Star Game itself
is on Fox TV Tuesday from Texas. Texas won in
ten innings at Houston two to one. Detroit homeward in
the tenths to beat the Dodgers eleven nine. Tigers had

(01:46:13):
scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie,
and Cincinnati sent Miami to a fifth straight loss ten six.

Speaker 2 (01:46:19):
Back to you, thanks Steve, coming to you live from
tyreck dot Com Studios. Martin Weis's vich Husky Real Quick
you said Miles Teylor was dead last in that tournament.
Made one of my favorite movies, the movie Whiplash. You
ever seen it?

Speaker 6 (01:46:31):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:46:31):
Yeah, the Drummer.

Speaker 3 (01:46:32):
Yeah, that movie is fantastic.

Speaker 4 (01:46:34):
It was originally a short film, I believe, and then
they made it into a follow feature.

Speaker 1 (01:46:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:46:38):
If you've never seen that movie.

Speaker 1 (01:46:39):
Beat with the you've got to wow.

Speaker 4 (01:46:41):
Okay, sorry, no, the guy playing the teacher in that
won the Oscar JK.

Speaker 1 (01:46:45):
Simmons, Yeah, okay, I've never I've never seen it. You
gotta watch it. I think it's all I forget what streamer.

Speaker 6 (01:46:52):
It is?

Speaker 4 (01:46:53):
No last decade?

Speaker 1 (01:46:54):
Okay, all right, what's it called?

Speaker 3 (01:46:56):
Whiplash? Whiplashard of that?

Speaker 1 (01:46:59):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (01:47:00):
That was our first fantastic guest in here.

Speaker 2 (01:47:02):
DEMARJ Morris, DEMARJ MLB bro Content reporter, Demarj.

Speaker 1 (01:47:06):
How you doing, my friend?

Speaker 9 (01:47:08):
I'm feeling good. I'm feeling good. How you doing today?

Speaker 3 (01:47:10):
Glad to hear it, Glad to hear we're doing well
as well.

Speaker 2 (01:47:14):
I want to ask you first, we have the sixth
iteration of a rookie starting the All Star Game coming up.
Paul Skeens for the National League had a complete game,
I mean, had a no hitter going, got pulled, but
we'll be starting the All Star Game.

Speaker 1 (01:47:27):
What are your thoughts on schemes and this accomplishment?

Speaker 9 (01:47:31):
Much deserved? I have to say, I was, I am
surprised at how he's pitching though this very first year.
Just to come in the league and just be as
dominant as he is. So I'm surprised by that, but
it's deserving, man. Six to one point nine e r
A eighty nine k's he's doing his thing, man, So yeah,
the Amy's a fellow fuller TONI and you know both

(01:47:51):
of us from pullets in California, So I definitely got
some love for him for that. So yeah, it's going
to be excited to see him do his thing.

Speaker 1 (01:47:57):
Hey, what's going on, TOMORJ A VJ. How you doing, brother?

Speaker 9 (01:48:01):
What's going on?

Speaker 1 (01:48:01):
Yeah? We got we got a full interiner connection to
I once called the Judy Garman Classic at Kyle State
bullets in and did a terrible job calling it the
softball world let me know about it, and I never
took another softball play by play gig. Again. Let's get
to this All Star game, man, because we're at that
point of the season now thirty four, if I'm not mistaken,

(01:48:23):
thirty five because a lot of replacements have been jumping in,
so I've lost count Martin and I talked about it
last week whether this was a good thing or a
bad thing.

Speaker 3 (01:48:29):
You're deep in baseball, brother.

Speaker 1 (01:48:31):
Is this a good thing, a bad thing, a soso thing?
And how do you see all these new faces in
the MLB All Star Game this year.

Speaker 9 (01:48:41):
That's one good thing about it is the fact that
a lot of guys are getting opportunities, you know, with
other guys dropping out injuries or whatnot. And then that
just just attesting it to the depth of the talent
in the league, you know, because you can't go wrong
with some of the guys who have been replacements. Like
you look at some of their numbers and you're like, oh, Okay,
that's a pretty decent season. I wasn't balling out. He
might have been a starter or you know. So I

(01:49:03):
think it's a good thing, you know. I think it's
more of a testament to just the depth of the
talent in the league. You know, it's just crazy right now.
It's almost like the NBA. The talent is just so
spread out across the league. Is It's a great time
for baseball, man, beautiful time for baseball.

Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
Speaking of guys getting an opportunity, Reese Hines, will he
ever not hit a home run?

Speaker 9 (01:49:23):
Listen, Look, this dude is ridiculous. And I was just
talking about the depth of the talent in the league.
Look at the the Red their farm system, you know,
for them to just be able to plug him out
the farm system. And I don't mean to make it
sound like that, like he was just some you know,
some average dude, but I mean for them to have
for them to have that luxury just always pulled this
guy up. And then for him to be able to
do what he's doing. I mean, first hitter since nineteen

(01:49:44):
hundred with eight extra base hits in his first six games. Like,
come on, man, and that's just scary. The Reds are
going to be scary for a cup when they get
it together. You know, I give him about three years,
three four years, they'll be a legit, a legit team
in this league. Him and Ellie. That's gonna be scary
for years to come.

Speaker 1 (01:49:59):
Oh before you go there, Mark, hold on, man, the Reds.
Come on now to two three years, y'all. You were
telling me last year the Red lookout for the Reds.
They were because they're supposed to take off the brew
Crew happened.

Speaker 9 (01:50:08):
Yeah, they didn't. They didn't take off like I thought
they were. I thought they'd be able to build off
the last season's success a little more. And uh and
and you know, really take off this year. So and
it may not even be three years, It could be
next year, two years. They got the talent. The talent
is it maybe make a manager change some things around,
and who knows what they could be because they got
the players.

Speaker 3 (01:50:25):
De Marga, you had a question for us though.

Speaker 9 (01:50:28):
Oh yeah, me and Popps was talking about this game
on the line one hit to win it. You guys
can pick who's batting because both of them are on
your team. You picking Otani or Judge VJ.

Speaker 1 (01:50:38):
You go first? Oh man, you know what now I
hate to add to your question. I hate the you know,
the you know, the put more sauce on on your
on your mail? But can I can I get a pitch?
Like who's pitching? Does it matter who's pitching?

Speaker 9 (01:50:51):
I don't think it matters. These guys are two of
the best hitters in the league.

Speaker 1 (01:50:54):
Doesn't matter, all right, give me, give me the New
York Yankee man, give me Aaron Judge. I know every
in love with with show, Hey and I and I've
I've been critical of Aaron judgespecially that year. But you
know what is her thirty four home runs right now?
Six seven? I mean, just and do where do you
pitch the guy? He can hit outside, he get inside
he gat high, he get low, and there's just there's

(01:51:15):
nothing to do but just to walk the guy. Give me, yeah,
give me Aaron Judge Man, give me the guy pinstripes.

Speaker 2 (01:51:21):
And let's be clear, this is definitely what's your favorite
ice cream type of question. Just hard to go out here,
but I think I can go with Otani. And maybe
it's just because I've had him up close and personal
as I watched pretty much every inning of the Tigers
so far this season, and I've watched this dude just
rake and smash and just just ground world double at
the worst time last night, home run today.

Speaker 3 (01:51:42):
I'd have to take Otani.

Speaker 1 (01:51:43):
But I mean again, I I mean, I wouldn't be
like covering my eyes and looking through my fingers and
Judge walking into the batter's box the bar, say give
me some All Star Game picks? Who you got for MVP?
It's other things that needs to be keeping an eye
out for.

Speaker 9 (01:51:58):
I'm good him at junior he hits two home runs.
One pick would be Bobby Wit. I'm gonna stick with
the American League. I think they get it done. I'm
gonna say Bobby Wit hit the home run and still
the base so that'll be my secret pick for MVP.

Speaker 1 (01:52:13):
Tell me what Skeens is gonna start for the National League.
You know you gave us a scenario. He's gonna he's
gonna face Aaron Judge. What happens in that match? And
I want to see it. I can't wait what happens
in that matchup? Baby? I mean you got Aaron Judge.
You got this young fireballer Ricky valln Stout type of
Randy Johnson type of velocity who wins that matchup in
the All Star Game.

Speaker 9 (01:52:35):
Skeans is striking out the side in the All Star
Game right now?

Speaker 1 (01:52:39):
Wow, wow, just throwing heat. Tell him listen, here come
three fast balls, Katum, if you can exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:52:47):
Yeah, all right, demarj. I appreciate you coming on the show.

Speaker 2 (01:52:52):
Have you on next week? An All Star game? We'll
have how already commence, so we'll have a conversation about that.
We'll see just how right you were, Bud, Yes, sir,
much love you.

Speaker 1 (01:53:03):
Love God, bless brother.

Speaker 2 (01:53:05):
Shortly after the show hour podcast, we'll be going up

goes no. His mother told him not to go where
you're not invited. One NFL star needed to take this advice.
Coming up next, Martin Wis's v Ja Husky Fox Sports
Radio Martin Wise v. Jay Husky comes to your life

(01:53:45):
from the tire rack dot Com studios here on this
Saturday evening.

Speaker 3 (01:53:50):
You know, Ja, let's go a little full circle here.

Speaker 1 (01:53:53):
Let's go because you early started the show with your
college football goat. Yes, and I said, that's hard for
me to name thirty college football players better than Cameron Newton,
even though he was a one year wonder.

Speaker 2 (01:54:07):
As Steve's the Sacred so eloquently put it, he didn't
put that tag on him. The twenty ten season was
the things that legends are made of. But apparently that
wasn't enough for him to get an invite to Christian
McCaffrey's wedding.

Speaker 1 (01:54:20):
Yeah, damn, see, Matt, I couldn't get an invite. I
know it is it because of the bron period of
people was brock there. But it was a brock q medo. Man.

Speaker 10 (01:54:34):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:54:36):
You're like, yeah, I wasn't because I would have crashed him.
I would have crashed it, man, Oh my god. It
was like to have so much fun man. And he
ended it with saying I would have looked like Greg
who Greg Olsen who looks like he was taking full
advantage of the open bar.

Speaker 3 (01:54:54):
Which good for you, paal for you. Hey, yeah, uh VJ.

Speaker 2 (01:54:58):
Would you have crashed Christian McCaffrey's wedding if you were
Cam Newton?

Speaker 1 (01:55:03):
No, I said, don't do no, no, no, no, no no.
My mom always told me Martin let it in with
the teas, do not go where you are not invited.
There was a party that Martin told me about last
year and thought to expect to see me there when
we met back up and came in and hey, I
didn't see you at I had.

Speaker 3 (01:55:24):
Heard out of it.

Speaker 2 (01:55:24):
I did not find out about it through the traditional
ways or to make sure that you also exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:55:29):
That's what I'm saying. No, you told me, But what
did I tell you? I said, He said, Hey, hey man,
I didn't see you at the party. I said, yeah,
I wasn't invited. He said, yeah, I told you about it.
I said, yeah, you told me about it, but I
wasn't invited. You do not go where you are not invited,
and you do not stay where you were not welcomed.
My mom taught me those two things, and I will

(01:55:49):
take those to heave it with me. If I'm not
welcomed there and I'm not staying, I'm not sticking around.
If if it feels fuddy duddy, it's some flip flaming
fluff going on. This ain't my vibe. But y'all don't
want me here, Hey, I'm out. I got other stuff
I can go do. And if I wasn't invited, I
don't invite myself or oh Martin told me about it. No,
if you were, if you want me there, you got

(01:56:10):
my cell, you got my institute, you got any way
to get in touch with somebody to invite.

Speaker 3 (01:56:15):
So camp real talk. Cam's my guy. He sounded a
little soft about this.

Speaker 1 (01:56:19):
He sounded a little.

Speaker 3 (01:56:20):
It's not a little, but heard about this.

Speaker 1 (01:56:22):
You played together with on I guess in in Carolina,
and I get all of that, but bro, it's I mean,
you weren't invited, you know, and it's probably because you
aren't trashing his current quarterback that he plays with right now,
and just maybe you don't fit. You know, you don't
fit the ambiance and ambiance as Terry Crew said in
White Woa, I mean most ridiculous dressed person there. Absolutely,

(01:56:46):
But I will say it does hurt.

Speaker 2 (01:56:48):
Your feelings when you don't get invited to a wedding
or party or situation like that that you think that
you would be invited to. That recently happened to me,
and I would watch, says Cam Newton said. I would
have liked to the right. I would have liked to
be able to say no, Ryan Smith.

Speaker 1 (01:57:04):
I would have liked to been able to say no,
I can't make it because I have to work every Saturday.

Speaker 3 (01:57:11):
That's not a strat told it his face. I was like,
how damn, what are you gonna invite me? It's crazy.
I saw all on his bachelor party.

Speaker 1 (01:57:17):
I was like, wait a minute, I missed the text
like you're getting married right here, You'll be getting married
to you at some point. You don't like you're getting married.
I would be more offended if you didn't invite me
to the bachelor party. I'm because I'm looking like damn dog.
I could the wedding school because the wedding you pay
for people and you only have a certain amount of seats.
I'm just here.

Speaker 3 (01:57:37):
I'm the co host.

Speaker 1 (01:57:38):
You went to two colleges, you have a long list
of people, and I'm sure VJ.

Speaker 3 (01:57:44):
I'm not gonna be mad if the.

Speaker 1 (01:57:45):
Frat brothers and the radio people are TV people or
people at k WG something something this where where you were.
I don't I'm not gonna but if I don't get
invited to the bachelor party where we party and as
men for the last time, as you was a free man,
I will say something to you about the I'm letting
you know that right now. I'm gonna feel some way
about that because I didn't even ask to come to

(01:58:06):
the wedding. But I am saying brou I couldn't get
it like the Bastel parties. Come on, come off say
for me. I plan on having when it ever happens
I have on having a small ceremony. See this is
this is how you how, and then a wedding party
like I'm gonna like cause you know, the wedding reception
is something differently entirely from this wedding party. I'm trying

(01:58:28):
to explain this concept to my girlfriends. Doesn't get it.
But this is how you do.

Speaker 4 (01:58:32):
If I'm not invite you either one of these Martin Weiss,
this is.

Speaker 9 (01:58:34):
How you do it.

Speaker 3 (01:58:35):
Can you have the wedding right because your wedding, You're right,
you gotta pay for the plate and everything is expensive.

Speaker 1 (01:58:41):
Then to me, the week after, you just rent out
a spot and have the open bar and then go
crazy and just have a regular old party.

Speaker 2 (01:58:50):
You don't have to tell people it's for your wedding, right,
you know what I'm saying. It's like, I'm sorry, you
don't have to tell the venue it's for your wedding.

Speaker 8 (01:58:57):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:58:57):
You just have a party because I used to throw party.
Should just try to throw brunch and we would get
a list of items. You know how much this cost
so much? That cost so much? This cost for brunch
it was one price. For like retiring parties, it was
another price. And then for wedding receptions. It was like
quad to pull that price for everything that we were
getting that brunch for one fourth of the price. So

(01:59:19):
I might as well just have brunch and tell everybody
this is my wedding party.

Speaker 1 (01:59:24):
Come on out, let's have you got that cater with food.
And once the food's gone, it's gone. Like once tackle
man cheero man real real and the.

Speaker 2 (01:59:34):
Two foods done, the new foods's done either a noon
or midnight.

Speaker 1 (01:59:38):
We ain't gonna pass twenty is gone. When it's gone,
it's gone. I like that idea, but I know I'm
I like that idea. I like that idea. Can either
want to invite to that you're not you're not buying
per play. This is but fa style. Baby, let me
help you out though. Your girl, Your girl understands it.
She just doesn't want to do that.

Speaker 3 (01:59:54):
Well, she totally. She's very smart.

Speaker 1 (01:59:56):
I've met the young lady, very fabulous young woman that
you possibly are going in future gonna marry. You have
a great wife. She understands exactly what the hell you're
trying to explain, Like that's your reception.

Speaker 2 (02:00:11):
She knows me that's not what she will have the
wedding air reception for a small group to save the bread,
and then after you have then you throw down.

Speaker 1 (02:00:21):
Now her friends, what wedding party, girl? You better tell
Ma and he bet at wedding recept what I'm not
getting too dresses. I'm not about the you know they
start reaching for the air dress like.

Speaker 3 (02:00:32):
You're going out.

Speaker 1 (02:00:32):
We're going to have fun.

Speaker 3 (02:00:34):
We're going to a white party.

Speaker 2 (02:00:35):
We ain't going to wedding reception dressed like Greg Olsen,
not like McCaffrey.

Speaker 1 (02:00:42):
I'm talking like two button down minimal. I love weddings, though, man,
I do. I love wedding I got for that. God,
I love weddings. I want to see costume changes. Pat,
you want.

Speaker 4 (02:00:54):
Three different outfits.

Speaker 3 (02:00:55):
You want me to Caffrey's wife. I forget Olivia Colpo.
I believe she twitched.

Speaker 1 (02:00:59):
She switched her dress three to oft times. If I
get invited to the wet I'm telling you right now,
I'm making a slightly drunk toast. I'm making a slightness.
But it's gonna be communic. Come on, you know it's
gonna be comedic. I'm gonna it's gonna I'm gonna say some.

Speaker 3 (02:01:11):
Real deep stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:01:12):
Trust me.

Speaker 2 (02:01:13):
I got this coming up the next Fox Sports Saturday.
I already spared your Chris Plank for Martin d Husky.
Enjoy your rest of your Saturday,
