White's VJ Husky coming to your live for the next
three hours here until eight to eleven five to eight Pacific,
and VJ we got football on the on the docket.
Normally we're watching the junior circuit. We're watching college football
in this time slot. But no, no, no, there's.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
No Georgia today, There's no Texas today.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
We got the big boys today, saying the Ravens dismantle
the Cleveland Browns. Congratulations to Cleveland, you are now still
in the running for the number one overall pick. Congratulations
to Baltimore you have now won the AFC North.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
The other two teams in contentionent for the number one
overall pick.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
That would be the New England Patriots and the Tennessee Titans.
The other team in the AFC competing for playoff playoff
birth we're seeing both of them right here about to
kick off, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers VJ.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
It's a great day to be a football fan, my friend,
how are you?

Speaker 4 (01:10):
I'm doing out standing as always, Man went up everybody
out there, Fox Sports Radio fans and listening and land VJ,
burn Husky, Big Vanilla Funny, Big Vanilla sports Talk Poppy
and my man Martin White people a new one. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
Big Vanilla Sports Talk Poppy. That's the new joint, right,
how Mar said, a lot new one? Yes, man, listen
and listen.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
You're right. We're not watching Georgia and we're not watching.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
And some of these other schools you name, you know,
like your Boise stage.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
This is a classic South Carolina older Spanderbilt window on
the third TV. Oh absolutely, baby, with all his NBA on,
maybe we get some of that changed up. But yes,
we won't be seeing those teams either, and we'll get
to them later talking about college football playoff, but as
they've been sitting home. But no, man, it's great to
be here NFL on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Mark, when I was a kid, though I do remember
NFL Saturday does start mad early than he used to.
You used to get Saturday games like the last weekend
of the season, even when I was a kid. If
you go back to the nineties, they would schedule like
one or two. Start out with one. You get like
one prime time sure, like CBS or NBC before Fox
got their deal. NFL AFC used to be on NBC

(02:17):
and the NFC would be on CBS, and you would
get a Saturday game.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
But now I don't know the.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Way back right right, right, right right, I'm going back
to them all the NFL sins like ninety five.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
I'm I'm going back to Marv Albert okay calling games
on NBC for the NFL. But now we get these
Saturday games like in November, right Thanksgiving weekend, we get
Black Friday. We always had the Thanksgiving games, but we
get Black Friday now, and then we get these Saturday
games three four weeks leading up to the end of
the season to space it out.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Then just give us more football.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
I think that'll change with the College Football Playoff as
they decide.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
What they want to do there. But yes, congratulations to
the Baltimore Ravens. My man l Jacks putting one more
stamp in t possibly back to back MVPs.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
For him and his third overall.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
And as you said, congratulations, Cleveland, you got some stuff
to talk about this year. And I think my partner
to my right was right. I might have missed on
this one. I think my thing, my partner to the
right was right. I'm still I'm still on herschel Walker.
I'm still on that deal. But man, this Deshaun Watson
dial in the Cleveland Browns, you got some explaining, you
got some splaining the doul lucy this coming off season.

(03:24):
Then of course your guy Joe Burrow.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Quick before before we get jump from there, all right,
can you will you concede that the Browns contract, that's
the worst contract in the NFL history.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
It's the worst contract, okay in sports history. Because Bobby
Bonilia in the Mets, because they still paying him, They
still paying him to this day, like three million a year,
two million or something like that.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
To this day. He still gets it. Jim First, there
you go.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
He gets a million dollars and that man ain't played
in thirty seven years. I don't know the last time
Bobby Barnilia swung back. But yes, I am on one
hundred side. This was the worst contract probably in sports history,
not just NFL history.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
I still think it's the worst trade too, But I
just was trying to, you know what, the holidays have passed, Let's.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Find common ground. That's what I'm okay, all right, all right, Yeah,
but we did grinch it up. You and I did
grinch it up. I went back and listened to the
shows like I always do, Martin and I even air tours,
and I we grinched it up Christmas week. I don't
know what my problem was, and I'm a Christmas guy.
I don't know why I was being a total grinch,
but hey, most of the stuff I was grinching on
was was cashing in. So when it cashes in, I
get to kind of do my victory lap thing. But

(04:33):
congratulations once again to the Baltimore Ravens, winners.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Of the AFC North.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Now, if you're Pittsburgh, do you do you pull some guys?

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Now?

Speaker 4 (04:43):
No, because you know the final. These guys know the finals.
Someone's gotten to them, someone knows that you can't.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Win that division out. Don't need to get to them.
It's broadcast all through the state.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Yeah, this look between the first and second dec and
it's the go around the corner.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
If do you pull some guys early in this knowing
that we can't win the division and we're prebly stacked
where we're gonna be.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Next week, walk a weekend out of question. I do.
But if not, I'm going all all gas, no break. Okay,
I got you. Here's the thing. I got you. Uh,
Cincinnati's playing for their lives, right they've been.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
They've been full pedal to the metal, all hands on
deck today, all hands on you can play. You're playing
to any other cliche, throw out the kitchen sink. I'm
trying to throw the kitchen sing at them.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
That's where you don't throw it at you throw it
at some of all the marbles.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
They've been playing all the marbles, all the marbles for
the last month and a half essentially, and you know,
on a little bit of a hot streak, you haven't
really you know, competition.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
You know, look at the teams they've beaten.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
All right, whatever, it's the NFL, everybody, everybody gets paid.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
But the Steelers need to win some games.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
They I should say, they need to put out a
good performance.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
I think that's important.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Especially when you're talking about this is where the Steelers land.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
For me this off season.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
If you said you wouldn't listen back to you heard
me say a million times.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Start Justin Fields over Russell Wilson.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Both of us right, but both of us we also
had the opinion, I believe we both shared that the
the worry in Pittsburgh was overblown. There were people picking
Pittsburgh to miss the playoffs. There were people picking Pittsburgh
to be one of the worst teams in the NFL.
And we looked at the quarterback situation from last year
to this year and said, well, either Justin Fields or

(06:30):
Russell Wilson is going to be an improven over Mitchell
Trubisky and that and that murderers row Mason.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Rudolph at all.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Like right, those guys are a different team. So my
thought was, okay, they should be fine. But this is
where about we're fine gets you.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
This is where all the Steelers people, all the Steelers fans,
you say, how dare you, guys say we're crazy for
hating Mike Tomlin? How dare you say we're crazy for
saying Mike Tomlin.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Needs to be fired.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
This is the time of year when that rips up
right and the Steelers right now pure to form sit
as a calendar turn three game, losing streak, look terrible
on Christmas, looked terrible last week, and Mike just look
terrible in this game because Joe Burrows was playing like
an MVP level.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
The Steelers need to put out good tape right here.
Absolutely not only need to put out good tape.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
You got it. You want to go into the playoffs
feeling good.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Man, you want to go everybody can beat KC right
Casey's gonna wrest some guys. There's questions about Saquan and Philly.
We'll talk about that later in the show. Also to
it's not just even good tape. You want to go
into the postseason feeling good. It's like college football, right
I don't care what bowl game it is. It feels
different to win your bowl game going into recruiting and
signing day and spring practice than it does losing your

(07:40):
bowl game. I don't care what kind of season you had.
You lose that bowl game, you carry that into the
next season, you carry it to the offseason. You just
want to get a dub. It feels different. Look at
Florida State, Look at look at Michigan. Right, Michigan, you
know whatever, type season whatever.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Hey, one team in the college football beat Alabama twice
twenty twenty.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Four in Michigan. Wait, and you know what what do
they do?

Speaker 4 (08:04):
They end up they get a top running back in
the portal, They get a defensive tackle from Cleinton, they
get an offensive tackle, they get two dbs from Arkansas.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Like those things matter.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
So when you're going into the playoffs and you know
you got a playoff seed sold up, you have got
to not just put out good take you have got
to actually want to feel good and be playing at
your best going into the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Same with any sport.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
There's not a sport, a pro sport, where you got
a playoff seed sewed up or a playoff position sewed up,
and the last week you're like, okay, will chill, No,
we got a kind of we gotta ramp it up
now and get ready that If you think you could
click it and turn it on Saturday for Super Wildcard weekend,
you're sadly mistaken. You'll be down two touchdowns within the
first eight and a half minutes, and everybody will be

(08:47):
tweeting about especially me. I love the tweet such and
such better wake up real fast. They must not have
realized this is a playoff game. It's winner gone.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
The other thing too, about the kind of rest verse rust,
the eternal debate. Kansas City is different guys, Yes, because
they've played at minimum, I just at minimum, at maximum,
they've played what seven more games in the last two
years than everybody else else, So they get to the

(09:15):
MC championship game every year, right, so seas exactly.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
That's five five seasons.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Fifteen more games over the Spanish that's an entire season
over five seasons. So no qualms at all about sitting
a guy like Patrick Mahon, a guy like Travis Kelcey,
a guy like Chris Jones.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Why because they've.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
Just played more foot Trip McDuffie, Karlaskans, all those guy there.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
If I'm andy, they're all City, I'm.

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Saying, but especially Mahomes, Chris Jones, the older guys have
you know what I'm saying, Like Mahomes is not old
yet but ankle injury, but I mean he's twenty seven.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
But the injuries, the wearing's area. I don't love like
resting guys in general. I think professional athletes.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
This is a radical opinion on my part, bucket's seatbelt,
turn your radio down if this is too hot. I
think professional athletes should play. Yeah, oh, you're right, Maybe
maybe just play. You get paid millions of dollars.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
You might want to.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
I think they show up physically able. I think you
should probably go out there and do it.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
Now, And there's certain instances, like we'll talk about at
the top of the next segment. We're going to talk
about the Eagles, their decision to go ahead and rest
guys and the impact that that would have. But the
only the only team that I am one hundred percent
squared away without a doubt, okay with guys sitting is
Kansas City because of the run that they have had

(10:38):
years and years out. The other one I can square
a little bit with is the is the Rams in Philly.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
We'll talk about those. We'll talk about Philly a minute,
but not covering the Rams tomorrow. Rams.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
You saw the way they started the year one and
four with combinations of the offensive line, the offensive line
being hurt, cut being down, nakupa of being down, and
Stafford is thirty eight years old, right, So so that
makes like we literally showed this season we can't win
without our full compliment. So let's go ahead and have
our full compliment to give us the best shot to

(11:09):
win in a situation which nobody thinks we're going to
the super Bowl anyway.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
But the fifty three people in this world.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
And they already won a division rams get a home
playoff game. They know that when they kick off tomorrow
one twenty five. And so if I stayium against the
Seattle Seahawks, they already know they've won a division.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
It's sewn up.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
They know next week Wildcard weekend, they will be playing
at home. It just depends on who's coming in to
play them. That's it. That's the only thing, and it's
already been announced. They will start, they will sit key
offensive guys. No names have been listed. But our first
thing I always do when I get to the stadium
is I look for the inactive list so I can
see who's playing and who's already been checked out. We'll
know that by eleven am tomorrow morning, Pacific time. So

(11:47):
I'm with you. I have no problem about that. But
you know what also too, about sitting people. You know
two teams that wish they probably could sit people, but
they just can't. And that's the game that's tomorrow night.
It's the Vikings in the lines. I guarantee you they
wish they could sit some guys. Could you imagine being
thirteen and two and not being able to sit people?
Could you imagine being thirteen and the thirteen and three
I'm sorry, thirteen and three and not being able to

(12:09):
sit people like you have to play everybody.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
I listen if there's anybody who's familiar with this to
his fans of the New Orleans Saints, who's thirteen and
three defending Super Bowl champions had to travel the seven
and nine.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
Beast mode, Yes, beast mode, schmoe. We didn't even go
back to the year.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
Remember when the Packers had everything so coming off their
Super Bowl year. Remember the Packers had everything sold up
by like week thirteen, and they arrested guys for the
last two weeks and then came out completely flat at
home in that playoff game against the Giants and lost
that home playoff game, And they sat guys for like
two weeks, which means they sat for three weeks because
they had to buy they'd wrapped everything up so early,

(12:47):
and I think where.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
Some of the slow start type of thing happens is
because all right, So like to me, it's like, logically,
and I'm the son of a so I'm forced to
do all this type of stuff because my dad would
be like, well that didn't make any sense, and then
they'll breakdown why.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Right? All right?

Speaker 3 (13:10):
So anyway, so logically it's like, wait a minute, why
is it that teams seeing like, okay, you can see
teams come out Week one and score forty points.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Why is it after two weeks off all of a
sudden you just had three months off. Well, it doesn't
make any sense.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
I think what we all miss is when you are
sitting guys from games, you also have to prepare the
backups to play.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Therefore, there's no practice.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
For your starters like you and you got starters that
are taking days off like I'm sure DeAndre Hopkins hasn't
had a Thursday or Friday practice since since he arrived.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
They got there yet, right, And but.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
That's scheduled in so you're doing more work on Wednesday
if you're rafting this week. No no, no, Noah gret is
getting all the tight end once. That's Jarson Wentz is
getting all the QB once.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Net all of them.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
So if you're a team that is not necessarily as
experienced as a cohesive with the chemistry that Kansas City has.
You're playing with a lot of fire if you decide
how you decide you want to move that. One of
those teams in fact playing with fire, the Philadelphia Eagles.
I saw a text today from somebody very near and

(14:23):
dear to my heart that said, this is the dumbest
thing I've ever seen. I cannot wait to hear the
explanation from it, because this is going to be amazing.
I've been singing the stupidity of one person for year,
and finally, finally, just finally.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
My partner stands, wait a minute, I don't get it either.
I don't get it either.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
We'll get to that injustin Move and Barton and Weiss
Beja Husky covered to you from the tiraq dot com
studios on a Fox Sports Football Saturday.

Speaker 5 (14:53):

Speaker 3 (15:07):
The Rest versus RUSS debate rages on through Football America.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Martin Wise and VJ.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Husky with the latest installment of it right here on
Fox Sports Radio, coming to you love from the tire
rack dot Com videos. Would you like to join the conversation? Well,
guess what, you can send us a tweet. I'm at
Martin Wise. Vjay's at the Big Vanilla Funny. We'll get
to your tweets throughout the show. VJ said he likes
to send those tweets too, So be sure, Phil, Look,

(15:33):
he he'll go back and forth with you.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
I might like it. Maybe you send your retweet like
all argue with you. If you will, pat you on
the back of you do Jore? Well man, you want
to talk, you want to tweet, let's talk.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
So I actually saw a tweet of a video. I
don't think Eric Dickerson is sending too many tweets days,
but I saw a tweet of a video of Eric
Dickerson in his response to the idea of sa Kwon
Barkley likely will not play Sunday, meaning his record it
is one hundred and one yards away from being broken
and likely will remain as such as the Eagles moving forward.

(16:07):
The reports are, what did you say, Siriani's leaning that.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Look not playing. I don't know if it's official.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
But Quan ain't gonna play, and that has the big
vanilla funny to actually be the big vanilla angry exactly.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
Oh, come on, that was fine. That was it was.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
That was a good one, Alex, mister bomb drop on
that one. Okay, So here's my thing, boom, I here's
my thing.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Man.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
I will defend someone to the death in sports life,
family friends.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
I'm loyal. I just am and maybe sometimes I'm loyal
to a fault. I get that something I gotta work on.
I'll bring that with my therapist this week on Wednesday.
But when you do something stupid openly, okay, now, now
you starting to make me look stupid and well, two
things I don't play is messing with my money. One
are making me look stupid or making me look like

(16:59):
I don't know what I'm talking to. Those things are
the fastest way to disrupt my life. For you, coach Siriani,
I have been defending you, and I tell people all
the time.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
I tell this gentleman sitting to.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
My right, you don't bother me as much as you
seem to bother everybody else.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
I get it. You're a little You're a little quirky dude.
You're a little weird, You're a little you know, you're
a little off. All Right, that's cool. Everybody got some quirky.
It's to them.

Speaker 4 (17:22):
Everybody's a little off. I tell my gummy worms in
the not before I eat them. Okay, I'm weird, I'm quirky.
I got I got little quirky things like that. I
like the smash skittles together before I eat them. Don't
ask me why I do it. I just do it.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
So I'm asking you if you do not play say
Kwon Barkley with history.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
This is history.

Speaker 3 (17:41):
This isn't This isn't franchise history. This isn't Week eighteen history.
This isn't the last half of the season history. This
is in a fel history since nineteen eighty eight for
a guy that has come to your team and a
guy who honestly might have red skewed your team this year,
because I don't know if Jalen Hurts could have taken

(18:04):
the beating for a third straight year that he's had
to take at shouldering the rushing attack, even with swift
you guys.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Had last year.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
Who I love I love them Georgia running backs all
the way back to No, Shan Moreno, and Craig Lumpkin.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
I love those guys all the way. Yeah, crab Lunkin.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
I remember him in high school when he was an
All American coming out man. I covered well, my brother
covered him, but I was at the camps in the
games when he did but Hersha Walker, like you, you
had a back, you got a better one, and you
got a guy that I've been beating the table to
win MVP this year. It's one hundred and one yards.
He will run roughshot. Your offensive line is dope. You

(18:41):
guys got pro ballers up and down the roster for
you to sit him, this idea that he could get her.
I'm so sick and tired of hearing that when it's
the most physical game you've been playing it for the
last four months, in one game, when the guy has
a chance to break one of the most hallowed football
record on God's green Earth, you were going.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
To sit him for what?

Speaker 5 (19:06):
For?

Speaker 6 (19:06):
What?

Speaker 2 (19:06):
Tell me?

Speaker 4 (19:07):
Tell me why you're gonna sit him when you're playing
when you're playing the Giants. The Giants are bringing guys
off the street to play football right now. They're not
gonna stop this man. Let him get this record. And
then pull them out of the game. They didn't do
this for Michael Strahan. They didn't do this to Emms Smith.
Emmons Smith was old when he broke the Russian record.
Oh but you know what, throw him out there. This

(19:28):
is history. We're talking history, man. And if you do this, Nick,
I'm off the train. I'll never defend you again. I'll
ride with everything. Every time Martin brings you in name,
I might bang on you harder than Martin does.

Speaker 2 (19:39):
I might talk more trash. This will be the stupidest.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
Thing he has done as the head coach of the
Philadelphia Eagles. And you hold you talking about it like
it's done, it's happening.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Something, change something back and change tomorrow. You talk about
ifs and buts. You go ahead and say it. Saquan
not playing well. I wake up tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Got to here. Saquon is active in a go for today.
I better hear that. If I don't, I swear this
will drive me insane.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
I will never root for Saria and the Eagles are
my Super Bowl pick.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
I picked them to win it all back in August.
And you gonna do this? What if? What if?

Speaker 7 (20:18):
What if they don't give Saquon the chance to go
for this record and then don't win the Super Bowl
well or lose.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
Next week, they have to play in the Wildcard. They're
not the one, so they have.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
To play in wildcard what they call it wildcard Super
super while superwa park.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
The Eagles have to play next week.

Speaker 4 (20:38):
And if you somehow let a team come in to
Lincoln fin I don't think it's called Lincoln Financial no more.
I'm sorry, but the Lincoln whatever it's called.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
But if you let a team come in there and
beat you, and Saquan has nineteen carries, it.

Speaker 8 (20:50):
Is financial by the way.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
Yeah, oh think you're still Lincoln Financial, thank you, but
it has listen, nineteen carries for like seventy nine yards, right,
because the defenses are better in the play OUs right
If this if man, I'm telling you, if if this happens,
he needs you, right, I'm with you, and fire him,
fire his ass, fire his ass, Fire the whole damn staff.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
You waste. You waste them, You waste the one that.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
One of your best free agent signings you had in
the history of your team.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
You wasted it.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
They lose next week and you rest him and he
doesn't get the record.

Speaker 4 (21:22):
I fire Sirianni, and I wouldn't hire nobody in the
NFL should hire him again. When you're making stupid decisions
like that, you don't do that. The history man, all
the things that Nick Sirianny, this.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Is the one for me. This is the one. This
is the one. This is your running back is jumping
over people backwards.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
Okay, like, come on, man, don't do this, dude, get
rid of get rid of what you like this. To me,
this is like analytics, mar and I know where you
gotta go. Do this, the sacred But this is like
analytics to me.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
Right well, the analytics say, dammit, what does life tell you?

Speaker 2 (21:53):
Damn the analytics, what do you see right now?

Speaker 4 (21:56):
Do what you gotta do right now and stop looking
at a chart and going well on fourth down, if
you're down thirteen, you're supposed to You're supposed to do
what you feel to do.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
As a coach, and as a coach man, you play
your guy.

Speaker 4 (22:07):
You let him go, get that record, stop the game
to give him the ball mark and everybody comes out
in the field.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
They might lift him up with something. His wife is
two kids. Don't do this, man, it's over. I said
last week, I didn't think he was gonna be able
to get the record because he wasn't gonna get enough
to make it to where it was arguable one hundred
and one.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
Yard nothing, well it ain't, it ain't nothing.

Speaker 3 (22:26):
It ain't just know six games this year he rushed
for nothing then because he didn't crack the hundred six
times this year.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
That's the past. Way worried about the are you bringing
up all stuff?

Speaker 8 (22:36):
It's against the Giants too, So come.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
On, that's another thing against the Giants. Part of me wonders,
why look all right? So like I don't really go
to the farthestuf conspiracy conspiracy theory land.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Part of me wonders.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
A Giant player says like, look, I know I got
to get a job next season. I'm gonna go ahead,
take Saquan out of here and save Joe Shane. The
embarrassment of Saquon Barkley breaking the all time single season
rushing record one year after letting him walk in my hometown.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
But if I'm a Giants player, I let him get it.
So I let him get it. Here's the thing, I
feel like this is the right thing to do.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
Oh God, because you have to play everybody if you're
gonna play Saquon.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
But this is because you got to play the offensive line, right,
you gotta play on people don't really rest their line
in Martin Well.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
I think just Elaine Johnson is not playing because Saquon
Barkley's not playing.

Speaker 8 (23:27):
It's an achievement for them too, right.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
No doubt about it. But in two thousand yards is
still two thousand yards.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Still less than ten people ever in the history of
the world to ever do that. So it's not the record,
but it is a record a little bit. But the
reality is I think they you. I think it's the
right decision to make. And it came down from reports
to say that, it came down from Jeffrey Lorie ownership,
Howie Roseman, all the way down there. This was not

(23:54):
Sirianni's call, but let's hear Saquon Barkley's kind of on
the record and whether or not he wanted to.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Be able to go for this. From a couple of
days ago.

Speaker 9 (24:05):
He had a conversation, called me back, let me know
that we're probably gonna be wrestling. My reaction was kind
of like I told my family. Obviously my family probably
wanted a little.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Bit more than me.

Speaker 9 (24:14):
But at the end of the day, and the most
important thing is winning football games, and we're in the playoffs,
so I got a bigger goal in miamiway. I mean,
he asked me if I wanted to play, if I
want to go for it, I said on Sunday, I
probably didn't care for too much for it. When I
slept on it, it was like there was an opportunity
to imploint you know, my name in football history. May
never get another opportunity like that again. So I'm down.

(24:34):
But at the end of the day, like I don't
care for putting the team at risk. He's a head
coach for a reason. He makes the decisions, and whatever
decision he wanted to make.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
That was just his thing was I don't want to
put the team at risk and take one.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Barkley.

Speaker 3 (24:47):
Since his freshman year at Penn State, when I first
came across, the young man has consistently held this belief
team first. Even when the Giants were winning two games
a year, he was going after He's playing her team first, guy,
right when it's the Penn State team first. And he
is never to my knowledge, well, I don't have to
say to my none, he's never even sniffed a championship

(25:08):
from Penn State to the New York to you know,
this is his best and maybe last chance to get
it done.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
That being said, that did not sound.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
Like a man who he was okay with Nick Sirianni's decision.
But if Nick Sirianni said go and get it, he
probably would have responded with a smile on his face
as opposed to the frown.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
You could kind of hear there.

Speaker 3 (25:31):
This is not AJ Brown saying we need to work
on our passing. And to be clear, I think if
AJ Brown was up for the single season receiving record,
this will not even be a conversation because AJ Brown
was going to play right AJ like, because we saw
what happened after he said they need to work on
the passing game. Jalen Hurst comes out, throws the ball
dressed like New Jack City says, you know what is this.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
What y'all wanted? This locker room, fresh chain.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
This locker room is in a situation where if they
don't like if I think if they went for this
record and didn't get it, there would be a lot
of people upset because we could have used that rest.
They don't win a Super Bowl or at least have
a very good showing. They show like they did last
year against Tampa Bay.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
I'm with you.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
I think Sirianni mishandled this in a way that he's
going to be the guy on the chopping block, even
though this decision came down from on high. Rapid Radio

the AFC North matchup today between the Bengals and the
Steelers for that and everything else going on in sports,
Steve Seger, Yeah.

Speaker 10 (26:49):
It's not good for Pittsburgh step They have lost three
in a row coming into this game and in front
of the home fans, granted it's about twenty degrees in
Pittsburgh tonight, in front of the home fans that are
already down ten. Nothing to send Sinnati. Late in the
first quarter, Cincinnati with a couple of good drives to
open the game. The opening drive over five minutes worth
ended in a touchdown from Joe Burrow to Jamar Chase

(27:11):
of twelve yards. It was a nine play, seventy three
yard drive. Then, after Pittsburgh went three and out, a
field goal drive for the Bengals of over six minutes.
They kicked a forty eight yard field goal from Ky
New York. So ten nothing Bengals leading at Pittsburgh a
minute fifteen to go in the first and this game
absolutely means something for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Yes, Baltimore won

(27:32):
earlier to clinch the division title. Pittsburgh has yet to
sew up the five seed. They're ten and six. The
Chargers are ten and six and play tomorrow at Las Vegas.
It is possible that Pittsburgh loses tonight, Chargers win tomorrow,
and then the Chargers get to play the worst of
the division winners to open the postseason. Yes, this is

(27:52):
not a good finish to the season for Pittsburgh. I
want to emphasize it's early, but it's two good drives
for Cincinnati and ten nothing the lead.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
At Pittsburgh stave.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
It's also negative six yards for Pittsburgh right now too,
So yeah, can't.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Move they can't move to football.

Speaker 10 (28:05):
It's seven first downs to one so far in the
first quarter, final minute of the first Pittsburgh for the
moment ten and six on the year.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
The Bengals, by the way at eight and eight.

Speaker 10 (28:15):
They need a win tonight and losses tomorrow by Denver
and Miami to get the last wild card. Berth Baltimore
sewed up a division crown the AFC North and the
three seed with a win over Cleveland thirty five to ten.
Lamar Jackson two touchdown passes. He had nine carries sixty
three yards. It was twenty one ten mid fourth quarter.
The Browns lost sixth straight to end the year. Ravens

(28:37):
finish at twelve and five. Ravens Pro Bowl wide receivers
Eight Flowers left with a knee injury. Dereck Henry had
two touchdown runs in the fourth. For the game, he
had twenty carries one hundred and thirty eight yards. Washington
activated running back Austin Eckler. He'll play in Sunday's finale
at Dallas. The Cowboys signed quarterback Will Greer. Eckler, by
the way, missed four games after a concussion, but he's back.

(28:58):
The Eagles activated Ti Dallas Goddard Eagles quarterback Jalen hurds,
he's out Sunday against the Giants with a concussion, and yeah,
you're right at Saquon barclayre would have been cats the Giants,
but no, I guess he's not playing. Officially yesterday he
was listed as doubtful to play. Make of that what
you will. Carolina activated running back Miles Sanders off ir

(29:18):
the Panthers play at Atlanta. Buck safety Jordan Whiteheaded an
out Sunday after a car accident on his way to
the team facility this morning. Tampa Bay safety Antoine Winfield
already out with a knee injury. Tampa Bay host New
Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris o'lave is out. Bill's wide
receiver Amari Cooper is out for the game at New
England due to a family matter. In college football, the

(29:40):
Bahamas Bowl went to Buffalo over Liberty twenty six to
seven wins. In the top five in college hoops for
Tennessee at Auburn for Iowa State Duke, and number five Alabama,
which beat number twelve Oklahoma tonight one oh seven seventy nine.
Starting the day at number ten, Kentucky. The Wildcats beat
number six Florida one oh six to one one hundred

(30:00):
and our first final in from the NBA. This evening
Philadelphia a winner at Brooklyn won twenty three to ninety four,
and sad news overnight of the death of the father
of Georgia coach Kirby Smart. His dad died overnight after
suffering complications from hip surgery that he had to undergo
after a fall in New Orleans this week. He was
seventy six years old. Sonny Smart was a longtime high

(30:23):
school football coach in Alabama and Georgia. Died overnight, and
the statement said the man fell initially while walking during
the day in New Orleans on New Year's Eve and
fractured as hip and was hospitalized at hip surgery and
complications arose from there. Kirby Smart had spent part of
his New Year's Day with his dad at the hospital
after the Sugar Bowl was pushed back a day and

(30:45):
the Georgia coach had returned to the hospital shortly after
their quarter final loss to Notre Dame. Again Sonny Smart
passing away at seventy six.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin and VJ. Coming to
you a lot from me. Tireraq dot com Studios. Got
a little drop in the NBA going on right now.
We'll save the big one for after the break. We'll
talk about that one in about six minutes or so,
so make sure you stay tuned. But right now, how
about Jimmy Butler going scorched earth. I can't find my

(31:16):
joy anymore in Miami. It was that two days ago.
This is after a month and a half ago. Seam
Sharania said, Jimmy wants to be traded.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Jimmy's agent, Bernie Lee said, Schalm's you're a hack. What
are you talking about? I think the other one to
be traded.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
And then a month and a half later, Jimmy Butler says,
I'm very unhappy here on the court.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
What's your uh two minute take on Jimmy Butler? Just
real fast, man.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
I always told you guys, Jimmy I like him as
a player, Markin I just never felt that Jimmy Butler
was a guy that you can win a championship with.
As as they say in today's world, the butt driver.
Jimmy Butler's a really good basketball player. He's a great
basketball player, but just everywhere he goes something like this
happens listen, Chicago, Mine, Soda, Philly, and now Miami.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
This is who he is. This is who he is, man,
And this.

Speaker 4 (32:06):
Whole idea of thinking you're talking in code but being
passive aggressive. I don't like passive aggressive people. I don't
like passive aggressive things. And when I was watching that,
when he's like, yeah, you know, I want to you know,
I want to you know, get my joy back on
the court so or I'm happy here off the court,
Like all right, bro, stop it. You're messing with pat
Riley And that's just not a guy you want to
play chicken with or you want to try to play

(32:27):
this game with. They've tried to put people around, They've
tried to get people down there. You guys got to
the finals in the bubble, you got to the Eastern
Conference finals and you didn't cash in. It just is
what it is. If I'm them, I definitely move on.
But I'm not sending them anywhere where he wants to
be and wants to go. He's just it's always Jimmy
Butler always ends up being a problem, and that's because
he's a head case and can't be a head case
and it normally just shows in.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
This truck record. If I'm Miami, I'll move on from him.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
Coming up next, the other drama in the NBA. He's
VJ just alluded to it. The guy who calling the
term bus driver is taking a tax. The guy who
said that Bob, who's he scored against plumbers and firemen.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
So the NBA, I know, right, the gift that keeps
on giving.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
We'll dive into that drama coming up next, and also
top of the hour, dive into the most important game
in the regular season in NFL history will be played
this weekend.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Oh breaking down.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
Coming up next, Martin Wis's VJA Husky on a Fox
Sports Football Saturday.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
Broadcasting live from the tirerack dot Com studios. It's Martin
Weiss and VJ Husky and we had a little basketball
on basketball crime recently.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
Let's hear the first part of it.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
Charles Barkley going scorched Earth on the Los Angeles Lakers
and JJ Reddick.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Now that's Charles Barkley on inside the NBA.

Speaker 3 (33:49):
The Jason Monroe he's referencing is Jason McIntyre, the co
host of the Herd with Colin Cowherd, who had this
take a couple of weeks ago, saying inside the NBA
is the biggest problem with the NBA.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
JJ Redick was asked about it. He addressed it.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
He was then and that's part of where this whole
Charles call went to what JJ said.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
Charles responds.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
JJ then was asked about this in a postgame press conference.
Side note, beat reporters ask about the game of a
postgame press conference.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
This is clearly a pregame thing.

Speaker 3 (34:17):
Anyway, this is what JJ Reddick had to say in
response to Charles Barkley, Greg and both showed me.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
I didn't make it old way to call the way
through the clip. I gotta be honest with you.

Speaker 5 (34:28):
My arresting heart ray is probably sixty four.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
I watched it, but it was sixty four.

Speaker 1 (34:36):
Literally, don't care.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
I have other thoughts, but don't care.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
When he said his resting heart y was sixty four,
at first I thought he was about to say that's
how you know I'm not a dead man walking.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
That would have been hilarious. Yep, that would have been
much had been very fun. It would have been much better.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
Instead JJ saying I have a lot to say, but
I'm not going to say it because I don't care.
But I have a lot to say. Confusing. I understand
he didn't ask for this, VJ your thoughts, JJ Reddick,
and I said this when he got the job. He
is not prepared for this. He is not prepared to
be an NBA coach. I'm sorry, he's just not Okay,
we know why he got the damn job. Let's stop

(35:13):
the bs. Let's stop acting like we don't know why.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
And guess what.

Speaker 4 (35:17):
Everybody that's talking about them, they're absolutely right. Everyone that's
talking about the Lakers, they're absolutely right. We're not saying anything.
We're not pounding, we're not beating down, we're not banging
on them. We're not making stuff up. We're watching the
product and the team that's on the court. That's number one,
number two. I have never seen such a smug head

(35:38):
coach that hasn't earned it. There are people who didn't
like Belichick, and they didn't like Greg Popovich because of
some of the times they can be.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
A little smug and they could.

Speaker 4 (35:45):
Be a little off putting, and people didn't like that
they didn't give you the right answers.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
But championship rings.

Speaker 4 (35:52):
They give you kind that, they give you kind of that.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
Lead way to do that.

Speaker 3 (35:55):
Super Bowl Lambroad Lombardes, they kind of give you that
lead way to do that.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
You've done nothing.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
JJ Reddick, you were a role player even through your career, buddy, like,
you weren't never a star. You aren't never to dude,
you weren't never the butch driver, not even close. Matter
of fact, when you were in college, didn't you let CJ.
Mccullo send you home in the second round of a tournament?

Speaker 2 (36:17):
Yeah? From Lee and you didn't.

Speaker 4 (36:18):
You didn't never like ball like that and carry a
team and take a team even to the Elite eight.
You never took a team to a final four or
a national champion.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
You're not that guy, bro, Like, get out of.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Here with this smugness and then just typical duke education.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
My resting heart rate was sixty four. Oh, like we
really care and know what your resting heart rate is.
But you gotta say something really cool, and you gotta
say something really smart to kind of make everybody else
feel stupid. You have a lot to say, but you
don't care. That makes no sense, that's a that's a
double negative. Was that what they call that a triple
on Tondre or something like that.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
Jay Z said, it's a triple Onendre.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
Don't even have every day. We shouldn't because it didn't
make sense. Then it doesn't matter.

Speaker 4 (36:59):
No, I just this is just and Barkley ate you up, bro, Like,
understand who you talking to.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
I understand that.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
We get to this mode to think of Charles Barkley's
just this guy that sits on TV and just talk stuff.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
People of my age and people of my era, we
understand what a bad man he was on the court.
There every about a three or four year span, ladies
and gentlemen, boys and girls.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
He was the second best player in the NBA. He
was the second best player in the Dream Team, and.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
Michael Jordan will tell you he was the second best
player and all the mother guys that wore the uniform
to toe he was the second best player on that team.
And he had a run when he was the second
best player in the league. You better know you, you
better know your role and have a seat, my man,
and focus on your team and focus on what you
got to get done. I remember your comments when he
dropped that bomb to say, okay, it's a little bit more.
Remember when you're a od couple.

Speaker 3 (37:41):
This is a little bit more of the shame that
I've seen from JJ Redick in some and I'll be honest,
what they've played was thirty five games, forty games.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
I haven't been locked into the post.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
Game of all thirty five, right, but I have heard
probably a lot more than the average person who's not
a die heard Lakers fan. There is an odd mix
between JJ the podcaster, the first take her right right,
and JJ the coach.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
And I say that in JJ like if you asked.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
For example, Michael Malone, Hey, Charles Barkley just said this
about your team, Michael Malone would respond with something along
the lines of that's cool. Everybody can have their own opinion.
I'm worried about my locker room. I think Steve Kerr
would have said something along the lines of I'm worried
about my locker room.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
JJ Reddick answered that question.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
As if he was on a panel, as if he
was you know what I'm saying, So Steven A, I
don't care. I have more thoughts about it, but I'm
not gonna even gonna sarehim right now because we got
to go to break in two minutes right Like that
was very much the.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
Level of time. That tone and now.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
Was that, you know what, I got five minutes on this,
but do I want to use it now? I'll use it?
Ang it like I'm not doing it now. We're up
against break. I gotta talk about the game. I got
five minutes on it, but I can't run it now.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
That's what that was. That's what that was to me
and to me.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
JJ Rudd as the coach should have just said, Charles
Barkley is one of the best broadcasters that we've had
in this league. Like, you know, it just got hardcore opinions. No,
but you're not an opinionist anymore. Yeah, you don't have
to respond. You can easily say I'm watching my team.
I ain't worried about what anybody else has to say
about it. Coming up next, though, is this definitive battle

(39:28):
for the Coach of the Year. It probably should be
Martin and VJ Fox Sports Football Saturday.

Speaker 1 (39:33):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (39:36):
That's right, and we're broadcasting lie from the tire rack
dot Com studio.

Speaker 3 (39:40):
Sorry, IRAQ dot Com. We'll hope you get there with
an unmatched selection. Fast free shipping Freerwood has a protection
and over ten thousand recommended itst dollars tire iraq dot
com is the way that tire at buying should be.
Did you see this story? Maybe the Chiefs need to
get new tires on their plane. You see they were
stuck on the tarmac for four hours at Kansas City
International Airport on the way to Denver.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
Yeah, got a nice storm.

Speaker 3 (40:03):
Unacceptable, unacceptable, who's part everybody?

Speaker 2 (40:08):
Man?

Speaker 4 (40:08):
Unacceptable? Get better planes and tires and stuff. Like, you
know the weather coming? Why why are you flying out now?
Whether you know that's my one?

Speaker 2 (40:14):
You know the weather's on the way.

Speaker 4 (40:16):
Yeah, you know the weather. You know the weather's coming,
So just plan accordingly. Just okay, there's gonna be a
storm coming through. It's Kansas City, it's January. You know
it can get real nasty, So plan a quarterly. The
only people sitting on the tarmac. I was mad one time.
I just sit on the tarmac for thirty five minutes.
I was heated on a plane.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Like you knew it was foggy.

Speaker 4 (40:34):
You loaded everybody on here just because you didn't want
to sit in the airport. That's how they do. They
know the weather coming but they don't want all these
people at the gate, and did more people come in?
Load them on the plane, and then we'll get them
on the tarmac and we'll sit them there for an hour.
I have a feeling that's not what happened here. But yeah, no, no, no,
not with the chiefs of course.

Speaker 3 (40:53):
Well yeah, well, you know what, there was one time
I fell asleep on a flight.

Speaker 2 (40:56):
I well, I fall.

Speaker 3 (40:57):
Asleep on every flight that I on every fight. My
goal is to fall asleep before takeoff and wake up
after landing. Now there's a forty five minute flight to
Vegas from La fell asleep, woke up still in La furious.

Speaker 2 (41:09):
I was, wow, like you gotta beitty.

Speaker 3 (41:13):
Flight was delayed for thirty five hours. I use on
my good sleep minutes now.

Speaker 2 (41:17):
Oh my goodness, gracious man.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
Well, there should not be a weather problem in Detroit
this weekend, seeing as ford Field does.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
Have a roof and his climate controlled getting there, that's
serial on. Do it at your own risk.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
Minnesota Vikings likely will be there, i'd imagine Sunday, and
they will be playing what I know is the biggest
NFL regular season game, not only this season, of the decade.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
I'll say of the decade of the decade.

Speaker 3 (41:44):
Think about it, regular season, regular season Vegas regular season
games in the last.

Speaker 2 (41:49):
Games for the one seed in the conference, and both
teams have thirteen plus one.

Speaker 3 (41:54):
Both teams are going to finish the year with more
than twenty seven wins.

Speaker 2 (41:57):
Yeah, both teams are going to finish the year with
less than five. I've lost.

Speaker 4 (42:00):
I gotta go on my brain though. Man, that's a
both statement. One seat got you by BJ, There's not
This is not happening.

Speaker 3 (42:08):
You know why it's not happening generally because generally you
don't have two teams in the same division competing for
a one seat. Most of the time you'll have like
a like like if if things was right and just
in the world right now, it would be either the
Lions or the Vikings and the Eagles competing for the
one seat.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
That's how it should be.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
Two teams four two teams, two teams defeated, you know,
to one team from the East, one team from the North,
the one.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
Team from the West, and one team from the South.
But no, no, no, NFC North.

Speaker 3 (42:37):
Congratulations, You're gonna have three teams in and two of
them are gonna be the best team in the conference
when it's all said and done, which which to me
begs the question. Because we talked about this with Ian
earlier today. He wanted to say, this game really should
determine Coach of the Year, and I said, well.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
Damn it, it should could It should solve something. It
should be something.

Speaker 3 (42:57):
It should be either Coach of the Year, MVP. Something
has to be decided in this game besides the one seed,
because you know what the rest of the NFL America
has been ignoring, are not wanting to believe because Sam
Darnold saw ghosts seven years ago on the sideline that
Jared Golf got jettison the way by Sean McVay, and
oh my god, did you know that Aiden Hutchinson broke

(43:17):
his leg ten weeks ago? And if the Lions everybody
they were supposed to fall off a cliff, guess what
they didn't. They're still here and now they're playing for
the one seed in the NFC tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (43:28):
Coach of the Year. Ian, I'm not mad at it.

Speaker 4 (43:30):
I'm not mad at it, but I just I don't
I think Dan Campbell can't win Coach of the Year
because we expected the Lines to beat as good we
expected the Lions to beat as good.

Speaker 2 (43:41):
Mostly it does.

Speaker 8 (43:42):
Generally go to like the surprise team.

Speaker 4 (43:45):
You know, this isn't a surprise team, though the Lions
aren't close to a surprise team in Minnesota. Remember, now,
I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna pull Martin if you
guys know, mim'mna pulling Martin real fast. Remember my surprise
NFC team this year now, albeit before JJ, before JJ
McCarthy got hurt, was the Minnesota Vikings. I did pull
it back a little bit once he got hurt because

(44:06):
I did not believe in Sam Darnell. But if he
could celebrate one and two and our atomic dogs, then
I can celebrate that this team did end up being
fourteen and two and I could still be able to
catch that in as another one of my things I
called in August.

Speaker 2 (44:20):
I got right.

Speaker 4 (44:20):
But those two things are pretty unrelated. Yeah, why, of
course you would. Of course you would. Now I'm gonna
be a Homer here. I don't care. I'm gonna pull
Homer Simpsons right now. Coach of the Year after they
knock off the Raiders tomorrow is Jim Harbaugh. That's my coach.
That would be my coach of the year because of
what he's done with what he has. Now, if you
think about Kevin O'Connell, he's a great coach. Guys, and

(44:43):
I've had a great year fourteen and two and might
finish at fifteen and two, but he does have a
stack team. That team's really good. He's got the number
one pass catcher in football. He's got a veteran like
Jones in the backfield. He had two of the best
top eight tackles and football in the line. Flores has
got that defense. Shout out the Van Ginkel pro baller. Hello, congratulations, sir.

(45:05):
I know Miami let you go free agency, but I
like you. I still root for you. Flores used to coaches,
but I've always said you're you're a hell of a coordinator.
I just don't know if you're a good head coach,
but you're a hell of a coordinator. Okay, you messed up,
you can learn to come back, get another head coaching job.

Speaker 2 (45:17):
But I think this team was built to be good.

Speaker 4 (45:20):
I didn't think fourteen and two, possibly fifteen and two good,
but I just think coming off of five wins, Herbert
having the lack of weapons that the Chargers have and
support his team to possibly eleven and six, right, I
think Jim Harbaugh should be right there. But if Kevin
O'Connell got it because he lost what was gonna be
his quarterback? You remember most people thought the samitar was

(45:41):
gonna be a quarterback anyway, I would be hard with that.

Speaker 2 (45:43):
I just don't think.

Speaker 3 (45:44):
I just don't think Dan Campbell would have had more
injuries on the defensive side of the ball than most
teams have on the entire team. Right, but that just
started over like the last as far as it just
being just a rainstormer injury and starting to.

Speaker 2 (45:56):
Start airs on injured reserve. I got you.

Speaker 4 (45:58):
I gotta reminds you of the Raves two years ago,
remember that when they had like nineteen to start the season,
six running back guys.

Speaker 7 (46:04):
The current odds Kevin O'Connell is actually minus two thousand
right now, envy favorite.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
So but like I said, I don't have a problem
with him winning it. I don't. But Campbell, dude, you're
an NFC champion.

Speaker 7 (46:15):
Campbell's plus eight hundred. By the way, he's the next
best odds that Matt poses. The question is this deciding
because Detroit just goes out there and blows Detroit, I
mean blows Minnesota.

Speaker 4 (46:27):
They can't. They gave up almost thirty to San Francisco
with no weapons.

Speaker 3 (46:30):
That's the point though, if their defense, Yeah, it just
shows you how good of a coaching job was done.

Speaker 2 (46:37):
Where is uh? Where's the harball on the list? What's
his right? Now?

Speaker 8 (46:42):
He's down there.

Speaker 7 (46:42):
Let's see so O'Connell minus two thousand, Dan Campbell's plus
eight hundred. Then there's a big gap. Then it goes
to Sean McVay.

Speaker 8 (46:51):
To clear plus twenty. Oh, yeah, that's correct. That's back and.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
Neck for sure, winning Coach of the year.

Speaker 7 (46:58):
Well, I wouldn't say Campbe's out of because again plus
eight hundred, that's not like some.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
But that's a big swing. But here it is other things.

Speaker 8 (47:04):
They are the two teams playing so one.

Speaker 3 (47:06):
Yes, this is one thing that we have to as
a as a public right. We understand the odds better
than Joe public does. Just because somebody is a favorite
doesn't mean it's a lock. Now minus two thousand in
plies heavy, very heavily. That will be Kevin O'Connell. But
the reason I bring this up is because Josh Allen
being a minus one seventy five favorite for the MVP

(47:29):
is not necessarily as ironclad as everybody makes it out
to be.

Speaker 4 (47:32):
No, and then next bell, yeah, but yeah minus two thousand,
the next one plus eight hundred. Dude, they'd have to
win forty two to nothing. Okay, honestly, the swing that now.
And here's the thing. They're not blowing them out, so
we can stop that. They're not blowing them out. That
offense has got way too many damn weapons. Donald's in
his back right now. I'll take us out. I'll give
him this year. You guys ever heard me banging on Donald?

(47:54):
At one point I let it go for because I can't.

Speaker 3 (47:56):
The Tate tells me, okay, he's got weapons, he's using
a Sometimes it takes a guy six to seven years
Baker Mayfield, right, it's okay, it's fine, it's fine you.
Trey Green is another guy, another name I could throw
out there. Sometimes it takes everybody can't walk in the NFL,
be Andrew Lucking, Peyton Man and John Lway, Dan Marino,
these guys.

Speaker 2 (48:13):
Everybody can't do that.

Speaker 4 (48:13):
Okay, it's a hard game to play, But I think
this is almost as iron clad as it gets. If
it's minus two thousand and plus eight hundred, dude, that
they'd have to, like I said, not up the score.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
They got to win, like fifty nine to three. They
got to punish them. My three would be.

Speaker 3 (48:29):
Dan Campbell, Kevin O'Connell, and then Jim Harbaugh. But those three,
the gap is minuscule, Like the gap would be just
as Dan Campbell was able to meet the expectations after
losing so many players, right right, O'Connell, the idea, you
turn this thing around to not just a playoff team,

(48:50):
a top three team in the end, everybody might have
to come through your home in the playoffs, right, potentially, right,
And the only the only thing holding you back from
being the best team in the NFC is the other
the other team in your division, which is just bad
frequent luck.

Speaker 2 (49:03):
Right.

Speaker 3 (49:03):
And then Harball for the turning around there, But again,
I gotta take it not he didn't win the division.
You know what I'm saying, He's gonna be a wild card.
Like like I can't do the same. Like when I'm
looking at Vikings vers Chargers for second and plays and
Coach of the Year, I just looked the Bikings have
been so much more successful, understand roster construction, and so
on and so forth.

Speaker 2 (49:23):
But I also think this Coach of.

Speaker 3 (49:25):
The Year is the way they awarded is stupid because
Sam Donald should be close to like if he's not
the odds on favor for Comeback Player of the Year,
that's who he should be.

Speaker 2 (49:36):
I get it that last year it was funny or
funny to the wrong word. I didn't mean to say
it like that.

Speaker 3 (49:40):
It was weird that DeMar Hamley did not win Comeback
Player of the Year and Joe Flacco did. That was
an oversight, But we don't need one year mistake to
be a multi year mistake. Sam Donald is the Comeback
Player of the Year and has an argument to be
the MVP of the Year, which means he should have
locked up Comeback Player of the Year. Absolutely I agree
with that. I tell you it is, and I'll go
even for the the Sam Darnold thing.

Speaker 4 (50:01):
He should get some MVP votes because of what he's
done the MVBS just about this year. Guys, Okay, it's
just I can't judge the pass. I can't judge when
he's with them bum ass jets. I can't judge when
he's in Carolina. I can't judge when he's in San Francisco.
I can't judge none of that stuff. I can only
judge what he did this year and what he did
this year. And he's got his team at fourteen and
two and a chance to lock up the NFC North

(50:22):
and the entire NFC. They all got to go through
a dome. Here's another side tidbit about this too. We
officially know now the NFC Championship Game is gonna be
played indoors. So it's not gonna be cold, it's not
gonna be in the elements. It's going to be indoors,
all right. So that right there alone lets me know,
all right, we're gonna get the Super Bowl indoors.

Speaker 2 (50:40):
We're going at the NFC Championship Game in doors.

Speaker 4 (50:42):
The MFC championsh game is gonna be outside, regardless of
whether it's Buffalo or for some Kansas city.

Speaker 2 (50:47):
But I don't mind O'Connell winning.

Speaker 4 (50:49):
Is My only thing about McVeigh being where he is
is that mcveigh's third is.

Speaker 2 (50:55):
Once again I had horrible, no, no, no, but he's
in a mist.

Speaker 4 (50:58):
Ian said that he's Vegas has some he's the he's
the third best.

Speaker 7 (51:01):
Say he's next to plus twenty thousand, but there's actually
a group of guys that are at plus twenty thousand,
plus twenty.

Speaker 2 (51:05):
Thousand and got no shot.

Speaker 8 (51:08):
That would be the upset of all.

Speaker 2 (51:09):
Yeah, no shot, bro, Yeah, talking about put one hundred
dollars on that. Put one hundred dollars on that bet
right there, man.

Speaker 4 (51:14):
But I have no problem with O'Connell, and it's simply
because uh, Sam Darnold wasn't.

Speaker 3 (51:21):
He wasn't supposed to do this, guys, we know that,
but he did it. So that's what we have to
go by. And they've had a good year and he's
did a great job. I did some digging into his
numbers and distribution. It wasn't just Justin Jefferson, Justin Jeffers.
He's really spreading the ball around. Justhin Jefferson has quietly
had a substandards too strong. Yeah, but he has not

(51:41):
been torching the league as he has in past.

Speaker 4 (51:44):
But at the same time, to defense is a key
and n on him, and it is your quarterback, your
offensive coordinators, but it is your responsibility to find ways
to get the ball into your other guy's hands. Something
that I don't think my dolphin is a dough Yeah,
John new Smith, Okay, cool, but that's a tight end.
You gotta find a way to get into another lights.

Speaker 3 (52:01):
You know, speeds their guys hand another skill guy that
could really make things. Breaking tackles was cool, but I
much rather have my guys outrun everybody didn't have to
break tackles all the time, because sooner or later, that's
gonna wear down on your body. But I'm not mad
at Kevin o' If Kevin O'Connor wins this thing, I'll
be cool with it. But at this game tomorrow, and
I know we'll do this in our picks and stuff,
but Detroit's not going in here and blowing this thing out.

Speaker 2 (52:22):
Guys.

Speaker 4 (52:22):
They don't have enough defensive guys. They're gonna have to
score thirty five to forty points every.

Speaker 2 (52:28):
Playoff game to win.

Speaker 4 (52:29):
They will not win a playoff game seventeen to twenty one.

Speaker 3 (52:32):
That often fumbled a kickoff or a punt return. I
think it was a kickoff and Cincinnati got the ball
deep in their own red zone, and now it looks
like a three and out. That's gonna be three. Wait
that defense or offense holding on the that's actually a
fumble right now. But it's holding on the defense. That's

(52:53):
that's crazy. Since Pittsburgh had just just about force to
three and out Korey he Trice holds Jamar Chase a
little same play on third down where TJ. Watts stripsacked
Joe Burrow should have been Pittsburgh ball at worst should
have been a Cincinnati field will attempt from about fifteen
yards back from where they are right now. That's the

(53:15):
type of player to lose your games right there, Joneland,
you know urks me about that, though, Mark, go back
and look at that replay.

Speaker 4 (53:19):
Why and why the sam hell? On the last game
of the year when you need it, you were covering
Jamar Chase one on one? Why why? Like why? It
makes no sense? He's that good and Dashaun Tomlin on
the screen, yes you sir, Like, come on, man.

Speaker 3 (53:36):
That that makes no That's why your defensive best gotta
grab him because you're asking him to guard it might
be the second best receiver.

Speaker 2 (53:42):
In football, one all one.

Speaker 4 (53:44):
That's not fair to ask that kid to have to
do that. And Jamar Chase puts a shake on him,
He's got no choice put to reach out and grab
his waist. That's on coaching.

Speaker 3 (53:52):
Coming up next, We've seen well halfway through the first
edition of these playoffs. Your thoughts on them so far
and what's the biggest flaw for each remaining team?

Speaker 2 (54:05):
Martin and VJ Fox Sports Football Saturday.

Speaker 3 (54:09):
Approaching the half here as Pittsburgh and Cincinnati tried to
put some more points on the board. Steve de Seger
will update you on that and everything else in the
world of sports in about seven minutes, so stick stay
tuned for that.

Speaker 2 (54:21):
About after that, we'll talk about the.

Speaker 3 (54:24):
MVP race and I just don't understand why just eliminated
half of the field.

Speaker 2 (54:30):
We'll talk about that as well.

Speaker 3 (54:31):
Football fans, be sure to tune into Fox Sports radios
every oh let's try it again. Tune into Fox Sports
Radio every Sunday morning beginning ten a m Eastern seven
amp has ever count down a kickoff presented by bet MGM,
Ryan No, Jeff Schwartz, a professional better Bill Krackenberg. We
have recovered three hours before kickoff every Sunday morning listening
to counter on the Kickoff resented by bet MGM right

(54:51):
here on Fox Sports Radio on the iHeartRadio app. And
it's especially important for tomorrow as well cause bj you
know this as well as anybody.

Speaker 2 (54:59):
We eighteen or the last game of the year.

Speaker 3 (55:02):
It's incentive week, Yes, it's incentive Henry Caston instead of today.

Speaker 2 (55:06):
Is he scored a touchdown? Here's one touchdown short.

Speaker 3 (55:09):
Mike Evans is famously five catches eighty five yards away
from his incentives Chris.

Speaker 4 (55:15):
Jones' sack last year that got him a million dollars exactly.

Speaker 3 (55:18):
So if anybody will know this stuff, it's going to
be Bill Krackerberger. So tune in, yes and clock in
on that, because have you together. We're coming to you
a lot from the Tireck dot Com studios. I'm Martin
Weiss VJ Big Banilla Funny. So the college football playoff
is set. We have Penn State and Notre Dame and

(55:39):
Texas and oh boy, Texas.

Speaker 4 (55:42):
And Notre Dame in Penn State Texas and the Blee buys.
That's no wonder right right, Like we don't care about them, so,
I mean, they can't beat Michigan, so they kind of just,
you know, we free Martin did not forget about him
because they can't beat Michigan.

Speaker 2 (55:57):
So yeah, so no, that's stands up. My bad. My
apologies to Ohio State. But VJ.

Speaker 3 (56:01):
I think all of these teams have a flaw in them. Now,
Ohio State, if you only watch the last sixty minutes
of football that they've played, you'd be like, Yeah, what's
their flaw?

Speaker 2 (56:10):
They're too good, Jeremiah Smith too young. I don't know
what you want to do. That's not faw. Jeremi Smith
can't go to the NFL. That's Ohio State's flaw.

Speaker 3 (56:20):
But I think that Ohio State's flaw initially is that
if when they are in a game which they're punched
in the mouth, which does not happen frequently because they
are so good, but we saw Oregon punch them in
the mouth at the start of the season. Finish shaky
on stretch, Will Howard sliding with no time left. Right,
So Michigan give them a game. Fourth quarter, they tightened up, right.

(56:41):
I think if you can keep Ohio State close, they'll
tighten up. Think know they're Dame's biggest problems. They can
win games one way. They're gonna have to run the ball,
be physical. They get down thirteen points, I don't see
how Riley Leonard can throw the ball well enough for
that team to advance Texas similar problem defense. I think
it's it's just offense just goes into in the spurts

(57:03):
where they just don't score.

Speaker 2 (57:04):
You saw that Arizona State game.

Speaker 3 (57:06):
Arizona State walks back in that thing because the offense
wasn't moving the ball, Like, this is what you got
to You gotta add on how many you know, how
many points do you expect to win this game by?

Speaker 2 (57:16):
And then Penn State.

Speaker 3 (57:18):
I mean, honestly, I know that Penn State advanced in
the College Football playoff You hate it.

Speaker 2 (57:23):
I don't hate it. I don't hate it. Martin had
some you beating them. I did. I also think that.

Speaker 3 (57:31):
These two ideas may sound incongruent, but okay, Penn State
advanced in the first round of the College Football Playoffs.
Each my question to you, has James Franklin won a
big game, because I'm not sure that.

Speaker 2 (57:41):
Yeah, I've been waiting. I've been waiting.

Speaker 1 (57:43):
I've been waiting.

Speaker 4 (57:44):
I feel like the answer might still be no. Oh
that's not fair, bro. You gotta let that go. And
I know you wanted them to win that game with
a D.

Speaker 3 (57:50):
So my myke for the record, just I want Penn
State to win a national championship. Now wow, only because
of this Wow. Okay, I got a surprising for you
to hear that this is why I want it, because
everybody was so miserable about this fourth team playoff that
we had to expand it. Then we got twelve and
that you jerks were still crying about it. Penn State
is good enough to where nobody complained about them being

(58:12):
in the playoffs, but nobody really expected them to win
the National change. No one complained about them being here,
which is why I want them to win. So nobody
is satisfied because you all deserve it. I've had to complaint.
Done ye, all.

Speaker 4 (58:26):
Right, so my four teams number one, I would be
written missed if I didn't, you know, take my victory lap.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
I had to call guys.

Speaker 4 (58:31):
I haven't missed none of these college football playoff games.
I've nailed every game. And I told you he was
going to be in the final four. Here we are.
So for Ohio State, they're they're They're not Will Howard.
I just still don't believe in them. I just when
the game is on the line, at the biggest moment,
in tight spots, Will Howard is going to give the
game away. I told you he would do it against

(58:53):
Oregon and Alton back in September October. Remember that game
was I told you he would do it in the
Horseshoe against my mighty Michigan. Oh, by the way, still
defending undisputed world national champions. Y'all say World Galaxy and
all that stuff because they don't play college football, no
where's but America, So damn it is the world. So
if it comes to a close game, Herd Conference play
on Pluto's.

Speaker 2 (59:13):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (59:14):
I'm telling you, man, Jupiter got a great team out there.
You gotta go say. I love that running back from
the third Moon. Anyway, if the game's tight, Will Howard's
gonna get away. Texas focus. These guys lack focus. There's
no way. Listen, well, I'm watching that game.

Speaker 2 (59:30):
Arizona State's got no business on the field with Texas.

Speaker 4 (59:33):
You talk about nflers. They have two linemen that are
going in the first round. They have two defensive linen
that are going in the first two rounds. They got
they got a linebacker and the defensive back.

Speaker 2 (59:42):
These are NFL guys.

Speaker 4 (59:44):
You guys know me man X's and those man But
the Jimmies and Joss was really gonna get it done.
You can draw something up, but if you ain't got
the horses to run the race, your bleep out of luck.
So their focused with worries me Penn State. I'm with Martin.
It's coach Franklin. Just when is it gonna happen?

Speaker 2 (01:00:01):
Now?

Speaker 4 (01:00:01):
I disagree Mark. They have won a big game. Matter
of fact, they won to They ain't want just one.
They want to They beat us MU and they they
won the second round game. They beat bois and State.
They beat Boise State up good, and they wrapped up
Ashton Jentz like he didn't get going. He couldn't get loose.
You had a few runs where you kind of lean
up off the sofa and it's.

Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
Like, oh, here we go.

Speaker 3 (01:00:18):
Ah I got tackled. Okay, here's go ah damn he
got tackled. Then they go, wow, this, this, this Penn
State defense is fast. Abdul Abdullah Carter, he might be wow.
He legitimately has an argument to be the number one overall.

Speaker 2 (01:00:32):
Pick and listen, here's the thing.

Speaker 4 (01:00:34):
Just go down, go down the train, right Chop Robinson
who was before him, Michael Parsons, It's starting to look
like yeah, that you bro. It's starting to look like, hey,
Penn State's getting back to this d line linebacker outside
rush you thing right now.

Speaker 7 (01:00:48):
Carter is the best one since since Parsons though, And
they both ironically started as linebackers.

Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
Yes, exactly.

Speaker 4 (01:00:54):
But then you're tell them, hey, just put your put
your hand in the ground and just go get the
guy that.

Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
Caused the play. Go get the guy that says, set hike,
go ahead.

Speaker 8 (01:01:01):
What a theory.

Speaker 7 (01:01:01):
The most explosive guy on the team would be a
good pass runner, right.

Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
So, but with Franklin is when it gets tight.

Speaker 3 (01:01:09):
Man.

Speaker 4 (01:01:10):
Now you're going up against this is the blue Bloods.
And then Norre Dame. I went Martin there the quarterback
pass offense to Dave. You guys look at it.

Speaker 2 (01:01:17):
If you did. You see his passing numbers and that
Georgia game that was future.

Speaker 4 (01:01:21):
But he had eighty yards on the ground and that
matters in college football.

Speaker 3 (01:01:24):
A bunch of short fields. Well that's called defense, though, man.
And I tell you I'm not mad at it. I'm
just remembering three weeks ago. I said, Marcus Freeman is
something different. Man.

Speaker 4 (01:01:33):
Then you guys know, I'm an energy guy. I like
looking in your eyes. I want to look in your face.
I need to see you face to face. I don't
like Texan, I like talking. I want to hear your voice.
I want to hit in fluctuation of your verse. I
want to hear the passion. Marcus Freeman looks as locked
in as I've seen a coach, almost like Nick Saban
used to look like. Remember Nick Saban used to get
talked to before the game. You know, he don't want
to talk to that little pretty lady hold that microphone.

Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
But you got to do it. You gotta kind of
be nice about it. Don't be rude, Nick, like you
did at Maria Taylor, poor child. I love that girl
doing a great job of her job in NFL over
NBC two. But that is going to be Nordon Dame's thing.
But I'm telling you right now, guys, if I had
to pick a team right now, Nordon Dame's gonna win
this whole thing.

Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
Because they are physical.

Speaker 4 (01:02:09):
When you talk about physical, these guys play as ia
as I tried to coach with my kids at Birmingham
High School this year.

Speaker 3 (01:02:15):
We don't play to the whistle. We play to the
echo of the whistle. The echo of the whistle is
still going, get you shot in echorder whistle is still
going pull them to the ground. Echoeda, still whistles, still going,
go ahead and lay that block on that guy. They're
not gonna throw a flag. It's like, dude, good reugh,
you just blew the whistle. Most reps they'll let you
get past that. It's the dirty stuff in the late hits.
I don't like Nordre Damon. I hate them.

Speaker 2 (01:02:36):
Miss this.

Speaker 4 (01:02:36):
You want Penn State to win this thing. I want
Norder Dame to win this thing because this is They're
the Blue blad the Blue Busy ever won the national
championship since eighty As you sit here, Rue, as you
sit here, rue foul high State bucket players. I don't
get you, bro that don't beat you there because they've graduated.
I don't gant you no.

Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
That doesn't matter. And c J. Stroud, you hotel get
all the time. CJ. Stroud, He's Michigan. It'll be the
first time.

Speaker 8 (01:03:04):
Wasn't Marcus Freeman a former buck Ey though.

Speaker 2 (01:03:06):
It was so so there there you go. Not see
here's the thing. First of all, I need you mind
your business.

Speaker 4 (01:03:13):
You ain't nobody even a nobody even asked you to
jump in in this, Okay, nobody asked.

Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
You the wh've got a contract and send us to
Bryan Days was a little shake either. I'm gonna need
you to close your computer right now, okay and just
produce the show.

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
An'ybody asked you to jump in on this. But I do.

Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
I do like Marcus Freeman. I love that guy. I
love the way he coaches. He just has something in them. Man,
but I hate to say this, but I have to
be a radio Gunden analyst and not a fan this
Ohio State team. This is the roster that people thought
we were going to see, and it's the roster we
saw in the most of the year until they run
into Michigan. They just get scared and they with their
pants and they know they can't beat us. But man,
this team looks like dude, that game's thirty something to nothing.

(01:03:50):
I turned, I'm like, okay, I'm not watching this. I'm
done with this game. I already know how this is.
Organ's not coming back, Dylan Gabriel's not bringing these guys back.
I think the National Championship game is Ohio State versus
Nordre Dame at the Norder Dane in the first twelve
team playoff and Marcus Freeman hoist the National champions See.

Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
Not enough people are going to be mad about Notre
Dame winning right See, I want people to be furious
they had won it. Oh God, if Boys.

Speaker 3 (01:04:19):
State through this twelve team playoff out let me throw
one more thing though at you guys, because if Penn
State were to win, we've seen a lot of stuff
about Drew Aller, their quarterback, loved by NFL scouts.

Speaker 7 (01:04:31):
If they win the Natty, that makes things interesting for
the NFL draft, because you guys know, should Sanders cam Ward,
this guy might be better.

Speaker 2 (01:04:38):
Though, don't get don't don't get him going.

Speaker 4 (01:04:40):
Please don't get this guy on my right going on
the quarterbacks, because he said the same thing about was
it Carson back?

Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
Uh? No, not back? Is it back? Somebody so much?

Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
If Drew Rowler came out, I'm sure there's an idiot
somewhere that was convinced themselves that he could be a
starting quarterback in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
Right now, Drew Rowler is a third round pick at
back the.

Speaker 8 (01:04:59):
Josh Allen comparison.

Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
Look at that's why he's saying that. I thinks he
could be an NFL quarterback? Say right now, admit it?

Speaker 7 (01:05:05):
Do I think a former five star can be an
NFL quarterback? That dj u Alonge le context here, So yes,
I did?

Speaker 4 (01:05:14):
Okay, see an nobody actually to sprinkle that five star
in there to defend your opinion. Oh god, well it
goes into it.

Speaker 2 (01:05:21):
Well, a three star receiver just missed the five stars.

Speaker 3 (01:05:24):
A three star quarterback just missed a five star receiver
in the end zone on third and goal.

Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
And what has been the longest two minutes ever in football.

Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
Steve de Sager will have the rest of the rest
of everything going on in the world of sports, including
this incomplete pass to Jamar Chase right now.

Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
Update, bet are we updated? Going to the taker?

Speaker 10 (01:05:45):
But Cincinnati is driving. They're up ten to seven late
first half at Pittsburgh. We have two NBA notes quickly.
Kawhi Leonard is making his season debut tonight in LA
when the Clippers host Atlanta in at our. Leonard's been
out with the bad knee. Anthony Edwards had fifty three points,
but Minnesota lost at Detroit one nineteen to one oh five. Yes,

(01:06:07):
he scored fifty three of the one to oh five
Edwards from three point range was ten of fifteen. Cincinnati
has just kicked a twenty seven yard field goal. The
Bengals lead thirteen to seven at Pittsburgh sixteen seconds left
in the first half. The Steelers need a win to
clinch the number five seed for the playoffs tonight. They
are currently tied in the standings with the Chargers at

(01:06:29):
ten and six. The Chargers are at Las Vegas tomorrow.
Pittsburgh is playing in about twenty degree temperatures at home
at Baltimore Earlier today, temperature in the twenties. Baltimore clinched
the AFC North with a win over Cleveland thirty five ten,
so Baltimore gets the three seeds starting in next weekend's playoffs.
But Raven's Pro Bowl wide receiver z A. Flowers left with

(01:06:50):
a knee injury. Dereck Henry did have two touchdown runs
in the fourth for the game, twenty carries one hundred
and thirty eight yards. Washington activated running back Austin and
that clear he'll play in Sunday's finale at Dallas. The
Eagles activated tight end Dallas Goddard. Carolina activated running back
Miles Sanders off ir Packers wide receiver Romeo Dobbs listed

(01:07:11):
as questionable due to illness. As Green Bay will be
hosting the Bears, San Francisco will start quarterback Joshua Dobbs
as brock Perty is out at Arizona with an elbow injury.
The Lions activated wide receiver Khalif Raymond and linebacker Alex Azeloni.
Vikings running back Aaron Jones is off the injury report
and due to play Sunday night. Lions running back David

(01:07:32):
Montgomery is officially out for the finale against the Vikings
due to his knee injury. In college Football's Bahamas Ball,
Buffalo finishes the season nine to four, beating Liberty twenty
six to seven. Attendance was four thousand, six hundred for
that Bowl game, it was twenty six to nothing Buffalo
in the fourth quarter. The playoff semi finals start Thursday

(01:07:52):
in the NBA, not only the Detroit win I mentioned,
but Indiana and Philadelphia with victories and among the games
in progress. End of three at Milwaukee, Bucks leads seventy
six to seventy five over Portland Giannis Antenakumpo with twenty
five points, Jalen Brunson twenty six in the first half.
Nick's lead at the break at Chicago seventy two to
sixty three. In the NHL under three minutes left at Toronto,

(01:08:16):
Maple Leafs ahead of the Bruins four to three. Minnesota
with three minutes left leads three to nothing at the Hurricanes,
and earlier we got wins from Washington and San Jose,
and as the final seconds ticked down toward halftime, it
is now At Pittsburgh, the Bengals lead thirteen to seven.
Because guys Pittsburgh was stopped on third and one and

(01:08:37):
fourth and one in the final minute, Cincinnati took over
and quickly got got close enough for the short field
goal attempt, so thirteen to seven the Bengals to lead.
Cincinnati needs a win tonight and losses Sunday by Denver
and Miami to get the last playoff spot in the AFC.

Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin and BJ Coming to
you lot and he tirerack dot Com Studios in about
ten minutes of play game of Who You Got with
our producer Ian Roddy. But right now I want to
talk about VJ. The NFL has never been more like
high school. You remember you and I were in high school,
in different decades, different eras. But I have a strong

(01:09:16):
feeling that this was true of your high school years,
and I know it was true of mine. When you
walked into the cafeteria, right, every day you had lunch,
you walk into the cafeteria. The cool kids sit over there.
Oh yeah, nerds sit over here, yeah, oh yeah. The
people who the golf sit over there.

Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
Nerds are outside a lot of city nerds are outside,
you know wherever. But everybody's got their own little corner
right the click.

Speaker 3 (01:09:42):
The theater kids are over there. Everybody got their own
little corner. Now, sometimes they merge. Sometimes the jocks are
at the cool table. Maybe the football player also does theater. Right,
there's all types of all types of merging here. But
the NFL has decided that the NBP he can only
come from the cool kids table. The NFL and the

(01:10:04):
NFL media those who vote on it, have decided that
the MVP can only be from the IFC. That's the
only way I can justify the conversations that I have
seen and heard.

Speaker 2 (01:10:15):
Over the last three weeks. Interesting. That's it.

Speaker 3 (01:10:18):
That's it, because here's the thing you can't tell me
in the most important regular season NFL game in the
last ten years maybe in NFL history.

Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
We have never seen this before.

Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
We have never seen this before, seriously, and it has
been a collision course to this Lions Vikings moment all
especially after Thanksgiving, right when it was like, oh, okay, wait
a minute, hold on, you know we play our best
ball after thanks given less No, no, no, they're playing their
best play like these teas. It's been this way this
whole time, and it was going to take Saquon Barkley

(01:10:55):
to break a record that has stood for longer than
I have been alive for him to get real MVP consideration.
Considering now that Eagles team won on a tail spin
the second half of last year, lost in the first
round of the playoffs, and live.

Speaker 2 (01:11:10):
Largely the same cast of characters.

Speaker 3 (01:11:12):
And could have fallen apart a few times this year,
I believe Sakwon Barkley has been the glue to hold
that Humpty dumpty together right. Jared Goff and Sam Darnold
both have been balling, and I got to hear.

Speaker 2 (01:11:23):
Arguments why Joe freaking Burrow should be the MVP of
the NFL. Don't get me wrong. Stats out the Wazoo
but the team is right now is fighting for the
last playoffs spot. In Vija. There's seven teams in the playoffs,
not just six anymore.

Speaker 3 (01:11:37):
It's ridiculous the idea that we're removing winning from the
MVP conversation.

Speaker 4 (01:11:43):
Uh yeah, my thing with the MVP. I'll go a
little further. They made it a quarterback award. They've made
it a quarterback award. I got the MVP list up
in front of me right now. First of all, five
in the last seven years has been the AFC. Eight
AFC representatives two thousand and nine. The only NFC representatives
has been my man Aaron Aaron Rodgers discout double check

(01:12:04):
no Adrian Peterson twenty twelve and then of course my
man Ca Newton.

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
All right.

Speaker 4 (01:12:09):
So other than that, no one from the NFC has won.
Even if you go if you go all the way
back to two thousand and five, Sean Alexander, but before then,
it's still a bunch of Peyton man Is, Rich Gainn
and AFC Kurt warnerback in one Marshall falk in two thousand.
There is not a lot of NFC love, So I
get with you there. But if you go back and
just look at the last years all right, twenty twenty three, quarterback, quarterback, quarterback, quarterback, quarterback, quarterback, quarterback, quarterback, quarterback.

(01:12:37):
The last person to win an MVP that wasn't a
quarterback was twelve years ago and Adrian Peterson. So it's
not an AFC award that we're just loaded at quarterback
over there.

Speaker 2 (01:12:47):
This has turned into a quarterback award. It's but that's
that's been true. But the idea to me that we're only.

Speaker 3 (01:12:54):
Picking the MVP from the cool kids table, we're only
picking the MVP from the anointed quarterback club, is ridiculous
to me. Rich Gannon win an MVP in this league.
Brian Sipe win an MVP in this league. There a god, Look,
it is supposed to be what happened in this season
and this season. It is not such a definitive argument
that Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson have just had such
a head and shoulders better year than then the Jared

(01:13:17):
Goff or Sam Darnold. I'm not even arguing that they
one of them needs to win it. It's just we're
gonna have these conversations. Can we at least have them
on the place of the level because in high school.
The valedatorian doesn't have to come from the cool kid table.

Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
The football player might have all the four point zero.

Speaker 3 (01:13:33):
The nerds might have it, the goth kids might have it,
the theater kids might have it.

Speaker 2 (01:13:37):
They don't just.

Speaker 3 (01:13:38):
Say, well, you know what, you know that guy over there,
you know listen, he also was homecoming kicks. Let's boost
just three point seven up to a four point zero.
I hate it well, also got a break real quickly. Well,
let's have more time for this conversation. I want to
get it in at least before this game is played,
so everybody can say that earlier. Let's play. Let's play

(01:13:59):
a game of who you Got? With our producer Ian
Coming up next, Martin Wis Vija Husky, Fox Sports Football Saturday.

Speaker 2 (01:14:05):
Comeing to you a lot from the tyreck dot Com studios.

Speaker 3 (01:14:07):
I'm Martin Wise, joined by Bja Husky here on a
Fox Sports Football Saturday. Let's go ahead, Let's not waste
any Time's get to it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:14):
Who you got?

Speaker 1 (01:14:15):
It's not Rocketcito. We just want to know.

Speaker 8 (01:14:19):
Just ask the questions.

Speaker 2 (01:14:20):
Who you got?

Speaker 8 (01:14:22):
All right?

Speaker 7 (01:14:23):
Who you got? The best time of the week. So
today's edition is Vikings Versus Lions. So biggest game of
the week only only makes sense to make it the
who you Got Game of the week.

Speaker 2 (01:14:34):
So let's go.

Speaker 8 (01:14:36):
Yeah, let's jump right in.

Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
First clue, not the MVP, not the Coach of the Year,
anything else, not the go ahead.

Speaker 7 (01:14:43):
First up, this player played ten seasons in the NFL.
I will not tell you if he's still playing or not.

Speaker 3 (01:14:52):
I was just supposed to guess off of that. Matthew
staffs how it goes every week?

Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
All right? Ten years? Matt Nope? Uh, Randall Nope.

Speaker 8 (01:15:03):
I turned off my mic there for a second, got excited.

Speaker 7 (01:15:06):
Next up, he was a former first round draft pick
of one of these two teams, the Vikings or the Lions.

Speaker 4 (01:15:13):
He played ten years in the league, or he played
ten years for one of these teams.

Speaker 8 (01:15:16):
He played ten seasons in the league. Has played ten seasons.

Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
It was a first round pick.

Speaker 3 (01:15:21):
It was a first round pick for one of these teams.
Alvin Johnson, No, Meggie Tron Jake Reid Nope, So.

Speaker 7 (01:15:35):
Ten seasons, former first round pick. How'd he do in
the league? He did pretty well. He made three Pro
Bowls and one first team All Pro.

Speaker 11 (01:15:46):
Ten years in the league in League three Pro Bowls.
Uh ten years in the league. First round, I've guessed
Lions thus far. I will guess Dante Culpepper.

Speaker 3 (01:15:56):
No, Charles Rogers, No, these aren't guesses.

Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
I got seventeen fifty time styles. Charles Rochers. It's the
madic commercial. Gohead you.

Speaker 8 (01:16:11):
Okay?

Speaker 7 (01:16:11):
Next, next clue. He finished fourth in Defensive Player of
the Year voting in twenty seventeen.

Speaker 2 (01:16:19):
Fordp Ohy twoenty seventeen. Chris Farley, Oh no, that's the actor.

Speaker 3 (01:16:25):
That's the actor. But Farley DiCaprio, No, shut up. The
defensive tackled from Auburn.

Speaker 4 (01:16:31):
His last name was Farley, though Nick Fairley fairly, fairly fairly.

Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
Was the first team All Pro stefan Gilmour.

Speaker 8 (01:16:40):
Nope, nope, not a bad guess either though.

Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
Next.

Speaker 7 (01:16:43):
He was drafted in twenty thirteen out of Florida State.
And again, let me remind you that was in the
first round.

Speaker 4 (01:16:50):
So this is oh, oh, oh damn, this is the
Florida State team. Does the Teina won a national championship
with Jameis Winston.

Speaker 2 (01:16:58):
Oh goodness, grazy the defensive back.

Speaker 3 (01:17:00):
No, it wouldn't have been a defensive back because the
defensive back wouldn't have finished fourth, you said fourth, and
Defensive Player of the Year finish fourth and dp O
Y for sure could finish fourth. Okay, his name is right.

Speaker 7 (01:17:13):
G have you guys another Okay, aside from one of
these teams, which I still haven't revealed what he played
for yet, he also played for the Colts and Bills.

Speaker 4 (01:17:21):
It's the it's the Vikings. It's a Viking's played. It's
not a Lions player. Mari is a Vikings player.

Speaker 8 (01:17:25):
I think Vikings fans are probably yelling it right now.

Speaker 2 (01:17:27):
Yeah, I know, I know. It's a defensive back.

Speaker 6 (01:17:29):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (01:17:29):
Just his name is right on the only one I
can think of is Jalen Ramsey. No, who played opposite
Jalen Ramsey. That was Florida State. That Jay was that
same team, right.

Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
No, Jalen Ramsey was Okay, Jalen Ramsey's after famous jamis
it was okay?

Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
So it's not it's not it's oh man.

Speaker 7 (01:17:47):
His one hundred yard pick six of Carson Palmer in
twenty sixteen remains the longest interception return in Vikings.

Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
Oh my god, this is gonna tick me all because
they are close.

Speaker 4 (01:17:57):
Dude, I know, I just can't, man, Oh my god,
can I cheat and ask for his initials because if
you give getting.

Speaker 7 (01:18:05):
I got one more clue and then I'll give you. Yeah,
the last I don't know. That's it, sir.

Speaker 2 (01:18:11):
They need the initials. Play my music wait, no matter
what that matter in time? And the cut? Is that
the remix there? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:18:22):
God, dude, I don't know the words to a lot
of songs. Xavier Roads.

Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
Xavier Roads was job, Yes, sir, I think you could
have gave me four more guesses.

Speaker 2 (01:18:32):
Now I don't think I would have, yes.

Speaker 4 (01:18:34):
Sir, Xavier Roads first round draft, played defensive back for them.
They ended up cutting him and letting him go when
they when they had the whole regime flip over in Minnesota,
and I'm like, what are you doing?

Speaker 2 (01:18:43):
You're letting Xavier Roads go? You right?

Speaker 4 (01:18:44):
He was first team All Pro and was making pro
balls and then he actually.

Speaker 8 (01:18:48):
I think he had a good year for the Colts too.

Speaker 2 (01:18:49):
No, No, he did.

Speaker 4 (01:18:50):
His first year because he went from Minnesota to Indianapolis
was rough.

Speaker 3 (01:18:54):
Remember that a lot of running and chasing receivers. Yeah, well,
defensive bat goes quick man. You wake up one day
you just can't cover anymore. As a Nandy awesome Wall acts,
Darren Reeves act. These guys you wake up one morning, Manny,
you just can't cover no more that fast. I speaking
of defensive backs in this game, Kirby Joseph was a
Pro Bowl snub. If I've ever seen how you lead

(01:19:16):
the league interceptions and you're still sitting at home.

Speaker 4 (01:19:18):
That to me was another And I didn't see a
lot of snubs, but that was one of them.

Speaker 2 (01:19:22):
I'm with you.

Speaker 3 (01:19:22):
Coming up next, we'll make Week eighteen picks. They may
not be playing, but we are locked in Martin Wise
Vja Husky, Fox Sports Football Saturday.

Speaker 1 (01:19:31):
Don't listen, no Fox Sports.

Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (01:19:35):
We're broadcasting life from the tire rack dot com videos.
Tirerack dot com. We'll up you get there with an
unmatched election, fast free shipping. Frearod has a protection and
over ten thousand recommended that installers tire rack dot com.
It's the way the tire buying should be. Bengals knocking
on the door, making this a two possession game. Six
nothing right now as Tray Sample gets tackled at the

(01:19:56):
nine yard line on first down, So the second and
and nine going for second? What is it's gonna be
second and eight as waiting to see if Pittsburgh's able
to hold on here.

Speaker 2 (01:20:06):
I look at that's almost like I'm watching on TV.
I know right.

Speaker 3 (01:20:11):
Coming up next. So let's go ahead and do it now.
It's hard for the atomic dogs.

Speaker 5 (01:20:18):
They may be me they may be ugly, but it's
time to open the case because these dogs are gonna
keep barking if they don't get fat and they're hungry.

Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
It's time for the atomic.

Speaker 7 (01:20:42):
Dogs, all right, Atomic dogs. So just to update the
score from last week, Martin, oh and three. There you're
a little bit of a cold streak here, so you'll
make it back today VJ one and two.

Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
So overall, would you like to celebrate? I want to
celebrate it.

Speaker 4 (01:21:01):
Hold up, no, no, I'm celebrating because you went on and
three and I went one it too. That's why I'm
not celebrating one to put out another man's candle for
your just Sean Brady.

Speaker 7 (01:21:11):
So Martin, you're at fourteen overall. VJ you're at twenty two.
So I think I think that's all she wrote. I
think that it's over. But we'll still make the picks
because it's fun to do.

Speaker 3 (01:21:19):
Yeah, of course, of course, of course I want to.
I want to open the lead. Let's go, all right,
let's go.

Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
I mean it, for the record, let's go underdogs out right.

Speaker 3 (01:21:27):
It's not exactly picking against the spread, which we'll do
in just a moment. Yeah, it's just Ja's I'm gonna
win that one too. Eastre domis why don't you go ahead?

Speaker 2 (01:21:34):
And all right? Man? So my first one.

Speaker 3 (01:21:36):
Listen, man, I know the commanders are, you know, on
a little roll last night.

Speaker 2 (01:21:40):
Great game last week too.

Speaker 4 (01:21:41):
Michael Pennix, Hey, brother, you might be something, but uh,
Jaded Daniels, you might be a little something to you
are something, But I'm telling you going on the road
in a rivalry game, in a game that probably means
nothing to these Dallas Cowboys at a plus six and
a half at home. Watch this team. You got guys
fighting for their job. People talking about McCarthy's job. I
don't believe McCarthy's job is on the line because Jerry
Joe just shown that he is very loyal, sometimes too loyal,

(01:22:03):
overly loyal to his head coaches.

Speaker 2 (01:22:05):
Give me the.

Speaker 3 (01:22:05):
Dallas Cowboys to send Washington into the playoffs off of
a divisional robbery loss.

Speaker 2 (01:22:12):
Watch these division games late in the year.

Speaker 4 (01:22:14):
Guys, with teams going on the road, go ahead and
give me the Cowboys for my first doll plus six
and a half at home against the Washington Commands for
my first and my final first dog of the twenty
twenty fourth seven.

Speaker 3 (01:22:27):
Yeah, honestly, that's my second one. I'm right there with you.
I think the Cowboys have a lot to prove. Yes forward,
I'll talking about that just second though. Right now, this
is kind of cheating going with the Vegas Raiders on
the money line, because not Vegas is any great shakes.

Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
I'm about to say San Diego, Los.

Speaker 3 (01:22:46):
Angeles's playoff spot will be locked up by the time
this game starts. Herbert will sit, JK. Dobbins will sit,
The Raiders will win. So it's a little bit of cheating,
but hey, who cares.

Speaker 4 (01:22:56):
I'm on with three less and some people have cheating,
some people sitting in a lot of these games.

Speaker 2 (01:22:59):
That's not gonna matter. My second dog.

Speaker 3 (01:23:02):
Give me the Minnesota Vikings tomorrow night and Martin's biggest
game in NFL history.

Speaker 2 (01:23:09):
Is it not.

Speaker 3 (01:23:11):
NFL and a plus three at the Detroit Lions. This
is a high scoring game. Vegas has it at fifty
six and a half. They're thinking both these teams are
putting up thirty. I don't think that's gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (01:23:23):
Give me Minnesota not only to win this game, give
me Minnesota to beat them by more than a touchdown
because this defense by coach Flores, the defensive cording in
Minnesota is stacked, and they are good, and they are
sending people to the Pro ball guys, I mean, they
had a hell of a year.

Speaker 2 (01:23:39):
They're gonna blitz, blitz, blitz and blitz some more.

Speaker 4 (01:23:42):
And the lines listen, they just don't have enough Jimmies
and Joe's on the defensive side of the ball, and Minnesota's.

Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
Got just too many weapons.

Speaker 4 (01:23:50):
The Super Bowl in the NFC goes through Minneapolis. Ladies
and gentlemen, give me the Vikings plus three on the
road tomorrow, national televised game to end the twenty twenty
four My second and final second dog of the twenty
fourty four season are.

Speaker 3 (01:24:05):
Put in our picks put in. I'm diametrically opposed. I
think the Lions win and cover. Let's put this one
in the grades because it should be a game that
we picked, but he picked it as a dog.

Speaker 2 (01:24:14):
I'm not. We canna use it as the game now
I want to. That's fine. Cool. My second dog was
the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (01:24:19):
I think Mike McCarthy and the Cooper Rush, everybody out
here is auditioning for a new job. Secretly, I think
Mike McCarthy will not be back in Dallas, not because
Jerry don't wanna back, because Mike said I can do
better all by myself and go to Chicago or New
York and one of these other places.

Speaker 2 (01:24:33):
This is a big job interview.

Speaker 3 (01:24:36):
Secretly, also, I think if we see a three score
game or two score game late in the second half,
I think we're seeing Marcus Mariota here instead of Jayden
and Daniels finishing out.

Speaker 4 (01:24:44):
Give me the Cowboys as my second dog, all right,
my final dog, it was a coin flip, man. I
could have went with the Seahawks and the Rams, But
I'll be covering that game. I'll being so fine tomorrow,
so I'm not gonna pick that one. So the one
I'm gonna pick it, I'm gonna look right through the
glass at the gentleman that's sitting at the producer's table
on the road that life to end the Aaron Rodgers
era to crush this franchise and send them into a

(01:25:06):
tailspin this offseason where they have to rip it limb
from limb, brick from brick.

Speaker 2 (01:25:12):
The mighty Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 3 (01:25:14):
With a backup quarterback is gonna go to that life.

Speaker 2 (01:25:18):
And do what we always do.

Speaker 4 (01:25:20):
And that's what pass on them bum ass Jets. My
last dog of the year. I couldn't let this one go.
It's one point. It might be cheating a little bit.
This game's gonna be like twelve to ten, like thirteen nine.
Nobody's scorting any points. Miami kids go no points without
my man ooh so taking the snaps. But it sends

(01:25:41):
the Jets into a tailspin. And then I get to
say it, laughing them bumb as Jets all season long.
Give it the Dolphins on the road met life, and
this puts them in the playoffs tomorrow four.

Speaker 2 (01:25:52):
My last third dog of the twenty twenty four season.
Love you, Ian, I hope you're right. I don't get right.

Speaker 3 (01:25:59):
I want to draft pick no kidding. This was my
third dog. But the other way of the line has moved.
The Jets are now favored in this game. As VJ
just pointed out when I rolled all this stuff down.
They were not favored in this game. Yeah, Jets were
one point underdogs as much.

Speaker 2 (01:26:17):
I made them my last dog, and it's been terrible
for me.

Speaker 3 (01:26:20):
Anyway, I'll go ahead and just give my spiel, because
forget it eight it's week eighteen. Anyway, Aaron Rodgers is
at risk of playing his last football game ever, ever,
and no one is talking about it. He is one
of the greatest quarterbacks has ever graced this planet, and
nobody's talking about the fact this might be the last
time we see him. And it's not because he wants
it to be the last time we see him. I
think Aaron Rodgers puts on an audition again, very much

(01:26:41):
like Mike McCarthy and Cooper Rush, puts on an audition
and takes his Miami Dolphins team, which has been struggling
on life support for the last seven weeks, takes them
out back old yellers them, and Aaron Rodgers continues his
NFL career at least tries to at least give me
the New York Jets. Last thing I'll say since eighteen ninety,
which is just about my entire life, teams that are

(01:27:03):
eliminated playing teams and must win situations over the last
two weeks of the regular season one hundred and five
sixty nine and four. That's a sixty percent clip, which
means not much. I just think the Jets are gonna win.
Let's make pegular picks now, all.

Speaker 8 (01:27:22):
Right, time for picks.

Speaker 7 (01:27:24):
Just gonna update the score really quick here because guys, gentlemen,
you cannot write this any better.

Speaker 2 (01:27:30):
Let's go. Let's go heading.

Speaker 7 (01:27:32):
Into our final regular season week of picks. Martin, you
are forty five and thirty three.

Speaker 2 (01:27:38):
VJ.

Speaker 8 (01:27:38):
You are forty six and thirty two.

Speaker 7 (01:27:40):
VJ had a big week, took the lead from Martin,
but it's only by one game here, so this is
really what I last week five and oh so yeah,
last week, no, you weren't five and oh. Let me see,
last week you were three and two. Martin was one
and four.

Speaker 3 (01:27:56):
Okay, So for this add on that we both were
opposite on the Jets, and we're opposite on the Lions Vikings,
so right now those are two before we even get
to this five. So maybe we can stretch this margin
on a little bit one way or the other.

Speaker 2 (01:28:12):
So you're up there, go go ahead. What's first? All right?

Speaker 7 (01:28:14):
First, up, the Atlanta Falcons are facing the Carolina Panthers.
Falcons are favored by seven and a half. This is
Pennix versus Young.

Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
Here go do Rag go. Oh, I'm not go, do
rag Salon again seven and a half, seven and a
half for the Falcons. Give me the Panthers a cover.
I'll take the Panthers to cover. That's a cheap way.
That's a cheap way. Right there, he knows I'm going
with my man, B. Why I've been with B. Why
I'm not B. Why I'm not leaving you.

Speaker 10 (01:28:40):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (01:28:41):
I'm with you your whole career unless you go out
and do something real stupid.

Speaker 4 (01:28:43):
If you don't do nothing stupid, you got a fair
right here on national radio, all your entire career. Man,
give me the give me Carolina the end of the
year on a high note, and then go fix this
team a little more. Carolina's making the playoffs next year.
You heard it here first on Fox Sports. Right now,
right just starts to be.

Speaker 2 (01:28:57):
Clear, none of what he just said applies for me.
I just think that me, you whit me, you whit
we together, Martin.

Speaker 7 (01:29:05):
I'm just surprised you're not going for your guy, the Penix,
the Eternal.

Speaker 2 (01:29:08):
Talked about them all year long.

Speaker 3 (01:29:10):
Listen, it was more anti Kirk Cousins Pennix. He throw
the ball to Kyle Pitts and that keeps leading to interceptions.
I can't trust it in a once sport.

Speaker 8 (01:29:19):
What's under that do rags? It is Voldemort under there.

Speaker 2 (01:29:23):
I saw a freaking picture of him when he got engaged.
You know what's under there? Nothing? Nothing, It's still as
the lake, but still is a lake, no waves at all.
I was, I was fury. I just brought it back.

Speaker 4 (01:29:34):
It really pissed me off man, a black man to
wear a do rag that that long and not have
no ways.

Speaker 2 (01:29:40):
We gotta have a talk. A need some DACKX hair
grease or something to go ahead.

Speaker 7 (01:29:43):
Next up, the Indianapolis Cults are favored by three and
a half versus the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Speaker 8 (01:29:48):
What do we think, fellas?

Speaker 4 (01:29:49):
I think disgusting yuck. This one was tough for me.
I already made all my picks, I got all highlighted
on my sheet here. I went with the Colts. I
went with the Colts there at home. I think the
Jags mailing and there's a report coming out there with
something that Doug Peterson did say, you know, you know,
even in a down year, I'm not sure what the

(01:30:09):
verbers well, And then now you're like, he you know,
he understands, you know, his job could be, you know,
on the line of what happen in the terrible.

Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
Year that they had. So he gets it.

Speaker 4 (01:30:17):
But I think he's a man that knows how to
say the right things. I still say, you can't fire
your coach when your star quarterback's been hurt.

Speaker 2 (01:30:23):
That's just not fair to do. I don't think he
gets fired, but I do think the coach finishes this
thing off tomorrow. Go ahead and get me the coach
to cover this.

Speaker 4 (01:30:31):
Johnathan telling me the Pro ball big Tom rusher probably
the second best rushing in AFC behind Derreck Henry. I'll
take the coach on this on right here to try
to seal this whole thing with me and Martin.

Speaker 3 (01:30:38):
This year, if Drew Locke can throw over three hundred
yards and four touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (01:30:44):
Mac Jones, let's do it, man.

Speaker 3 (01:30:48):
Okay, Okay, he j said you was gonna get cut
three years ago.

Speaker 2 (01:30:52):
When you should have been rookie. Had to use this
runner up for Rookie of the Year.

Speaker 3 (01:30:55):
Mac, This is a job application right here for Tom Peterson,
Mac and the rest of everybody else, because let's be honest,
they're getting fired.

Speaker 2 (01:31:04):
Shut them up one last time, Matt.

Speaker 8 (01:31:07):
All right, Next up?

Speaker 7 (01:31:08):
This game has been a big talking point this week
seeing as Saquon is not playing in it, but the
Giants are going to Philadelphia. Philly's favored by two and
a half points.

Speaker 2 (01:31:17):
What do we think?

Speaker 4 (01:31:18):
The two and a half points scares me? But it
scares me more is the thirty seven and a half
over a hundred, so that in Vegas stateks nobody's neither
team might not crack twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:31:28):
Now. I think the Eagles just has once again, more
Jimmies and Joe's they're at home.

Speaker 4 (01:31:34):
I know Giants are auditioning, but you can audition all
you want to an audition for a bunch of stuff.
When I was an actor in Hollywood, why am I
staying here right now?

Speaker 2 (01:31:40):
I didn't get the parts.

Speaker 4 (01:31:41):
You can audition all the hell you want doesn't mean
you're getting the part. Okay, audition for a lot of stuff.
When I first moved to Los Angeles from the DMV, give.

Speaker 3 (01:31:49):
Me the Eagles because sat Quan's playing and.

Speaker 4 (01:31:51):
He's breaking Eric Dickerson's record when I wake up in
the morning, or I will call Philly and fire Nick Sirianni.

Speaker 2 (01:31:58):
But give me the Eagles here two and a half.
That's too easy. I'll take this.

Speaker 3 (01:32:00):
And when I don't know, maybe google it, Maybe ask
chat DPT for the Eagles number, because that's a phone
called VJ.

Speaker 2 (01:32:07):
Is gonna be making SACKA.

Speaker 3 (01:32:08):
Barkley's gonna be sitting on the couch just like you
and me watching this game. I honestly, I'm torn between
am I rooty for this or do I think it
could happen?

Speaker 2 (01:32:16):
I'm sneaky think the.

Speaker 3 (01:32:17):
Giants have a shot to win this game. I just said,
du through for three hundred yards. Eagles sitting everybody. Giants
cover for sure?

Speaker 2 (01:32:25):
All right?

Speaker 7 (01:32:26):
Next up the Green Bay Packers versus the Chicago Bears.
Caleb Williams a little bit of an up and down season.
Oh you think, yeah, Try to tell you hackers are
favored by ten points. Here, guys, what do we think?

Speaker 4 (01:32:38):
I saw ten and a half and I just don't
like it, man, I don't like the I follow Bernie Fraddle.
Shout to Bernie Fraddle at the He's the best Vegas guy.
In his sports talk radio he told me VJ. Don't
take double digit division games. Just don't do it now,
chalob But I think it still wants to show people. No, no, no,
I'm gonna go all out. They're all playing tomorrow. I
think InGaN Nowen maybe out, but there Kayla's playing. You know,

(01:32:58):
a bunch of other guys are playing.

Speaker 2 (01:33:00):
I think the.

Speaker 3 (01:33:00):
Packers might peel it off a little bit. Give me
the Bears the cover here. I think the Packers win,
but ten and a half. I don't love double digit
division games. Give me the Bears to cover. Part of
the reason why my Atomic Dogs record is so bad.
As I've managed to pick the Chicago Bears through a
ten game losing streak about seven times. I didn't do

(01:33:22):
it this week. And you know what's gonna happen. This
is the week they're gonna win. I've like, I am
fully like. I know it's supposed to be objective, supposed
to like break things down, not supposed to care. I
really want the Chicago Bears to win this game. If
for no other reason, Thomas Brown needs to win.

Speaker 2 (01:33:39):
Like he really he wins.

Speaker 3 (01:33:41):
He has had really bad of hiring and firing luck
this is the second year in a row. He went
from like past game coordinator to the headman, and it's
like he went from not having a parking spot to everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:33:55):
Asking him what's the right answer to the questions.

Speaker 3 (01:33:58):
I just want him to win because I don't know
if he'll ever have another opportunity to do this, and
there's been terrible for him thus far, and none of
it really a lot of it's not his fault. I'm
rooting for the Chicago Bears. I mean, Packer's probably gonna win,
but I'm just rooting for the Bears. I'm rooting for
the Bears.

Speaker 8 (01:34:13):
The Bear Bears got you all right.

Speaker 7 (01:34:15):
Last one here got the Seattle Seahawks going against the
Los Angeles Rams.

Speaker 8 (01:34:19):
Rams are already in the playoffs.

Speaker 7 (01:34:20):
Here, Seahawks are out, but Seahawks are favored by seven points.

Speaker 8 (01:34:24):
What do we think?

Speaker 3 (01:34:26):
Bla Coorum Bla, Coreum Blay, Coreum.

Speaker 4 (01:34:32):
Blake Korm left, Blake Orm right, Blake Corum up the middle.

Speaker 3 (01:34:36):
Play A should pull it out? Hey, just Lee hit
some of these other guys. Listen, man, Sean McVay has
done a great job. I want to see my guy, Blake.
He's been very gracious to me. He speaks to me
all the time.

Speaker 4 (01:34:46):
We talk off the record, on the record, I'm pulling
for him to get a bunch of carries, get it,
get some touchdowns and add that to his rookie year
going into the playoffs. Man, they're an underdog there. There's
six point under six and a half point Underdags. So
definitely give me the Rams that covered this. That's this
is easy for me. Give me a Rams to go
for this.

Speaker 2 (01:35:01):
Rams might win this game.

Speaker 3 (01:35:03):
I also think the Rams cover here, but you know
I was not necessarily all the way in. Talked to
Alex Curry today, did the show with her earlier today.
She's plugged into La Sports. She said, No, Sean mcvath
thinks Jimmy Garoppolo can win this game. A ross Marcazi
with the Sporting Tribune. All they do is cover La
Vegas and Hawaii. He's plugged into the Rams. He said
the same thing. Sean mcvaith think Jimmy Garoppolo could win

(01:35:25):
this game. I don't, but I've heard two people who
are doing this for a living also saying Jimmy, Jimmy.

Speaker 2 (01:35:33):
G I've never seen a backup quarterback leave locker room.
So fast. I've got here. He's out of there.

Speaker 3 (01:35:40):
Bro he we walking in Garoppolo is getting on the car,
the golf cart to take him to his car.

Speaker 2 (01:35:45):
That man gets out of there. He knows two things.
It's true.

Speaker 3 (01:35:47):
Don't nobody want to talk to him? And he lives
in La. It's a good looking dude. He got he
got places to me.

Speaker 2 (01:35:52):
He probably he probably did. He probably do the games
in early so far places to be.

Speaker 4 (01:35:58):
It's only seven thirty and Sunday Entree Boulevard is popping
when you turn left out of Sofar. It's popping down
Sentry Boulevard coming up next, Bjay Husky, take a deep
breath because I'm sure you're gonna want to run one
or two or three victory laps.

Speaker 2 (01:36:12):
You go through our NFL.

Speaker 3 (01:36:14):
VJ said, I listened back to all of them. You
see how right and wrong come next? Martin Wis's v
JA Husky Fox Sports Football Saturday. How about your lie
off at a Direck dot Com Studios. It's Martin Wiss
and Jay Husky on the I was about to say,
Phil again, we're not feeling this is our slot.

Speaker 2 (01:36:30):
So we were just talking to are we just talking
to the commercial filing work we've done over.

Speaker 3 (01:36:36):
Last yeah, this NFL season. So VJ likes to take
a time and just reflect on how everything went. So
you said you had some of your favorite predictions of ours,
go ahead and let them fly.

Speaker 4 (01:36:49):
Well, I'm gonna give yours first, because you had a
really good one. You had Verse out of Florida State
as your defensive Rookie of the Year. He made the
Pro Bowl, so he probably so he probably should be
getting at award. So congred that was because that was
that was a bowl because it's hard to pick that one, right,
the rookie, like, we don't know how these rookies are
gonna come in here, man, and how they're gonna do
offensive rookies, how they're gonna we have no less it's

(01:37:11):
a quarterback that's easy to judge. Last year, Shaw wanted,
I wanted to be Pooka and you ANOJ. Shaw another
one that I got right, guys, I banged the table on.
I told you all the NFC North would get three
teams into the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (01:37:26):
And they would all have double digit wins. They all
have over eleven twelve wins, yet two of them in
fourteen and twelve. I'll take that one right there, another one.

Speaker 4 (01:37:35):
I love Caleb Williams cash stand on that bad boy
right there in the Chicago Bass where people had him
at eight and nine wins because they did it with
Justin Fields, right yeah, Man, Justin Fields is a different guy.
He's a different type of quarterback. I know Caleb makes
a lot of those magical type plays. But the NFL guy, honestly,
the only guy that can get away with that time
and time again is Pat Mahomes. He's the best guy

(01:37:57):
in the game. Anytime we use some of these these
are these these comparisons that we try to say, well,
this guy is Mahomes like, or he's Jordan like, or
he's you know, he pitches like Randy Johnson like.

Speaker 2 (01:38:09):
No, there's only one big there's only one big unit. One.

Speaker 4 (01:38:14):
I crashed and burned on Dallas Cowboys. I was high
on Dallas, and the previous two years I kept saying,
Dallas is gonna crash and burn. What I tell you, Martin,
I wasn't making a mistake to turn time in a row.
So this year at Dallas being eleven and twelve wins
and we see what the Dallas Cowboys have turned into. Uh,
this year so now I want to take credit for

(01:38:36):
the Vikings, I kind of can, but I'm gonna keep
it a buck.

Speaker 3 (01:38:39):
I can't because part of it was you jumped off
the bandwagon, actor Jon exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:38:45):
I did. So I'm there. Let me let me just
say it. I'm gonna be honest.

Speaker 4 (01:38:47):
I'm not gonna take credit for that one because that
was really all built off of and predicated on them
having JJ McCarthy. Once Sam Darno was named the starter,
I said, no way, no how. I thought he'd be
bitch by weeks. I missed on that one. But my
most proudest one of the year, Ian are you listening?
My most proudest one of the year. I told everybody

(01:39:08):
that Chris Brussard told me they were gonna win the age.

Speaker 3 (01:39:11):
I was about you said, I already know what you're saying.
I spent so many hours on the radio talking to because.

Speaker 2 (01:39:16):
You're feeling a lot in the summer times. I probably
did thirty five shows of Christmas SR.

Speaker 3 (01:39:21):
And he was like, but the Jets, I'm like, Chris Rogers,
double come on with all of them.

Speaker 2 (01:39:26):
What Garrett Wilson, You're not even gonna breeze hall. He
starts naming. You know, the I did the age.

Speaker 3 (01:39:32):
I forget who they are now even just think it's
John Simpson, Morgan Moogus, and Aaron Rodgers, the starting tackles
and quarterback. Yeah, for the Jets. The three of them,
their ages added up to one hundred and seven.

Speaker 4 (01:39:43):
Well, the two tackles they brought in were both over
thirty two years old, and one of them had injury problems.
So I had them that I said they'd be lucky
to win five or six games. They're sitting at four
and twelve right now, and no one was on that.
Most people thought, no, the at least went nine. Engage me, No,
they're not. They'd a bum ass.

Speaker 2 (01:40:03):
Jets.

Speaker 4 (01:40:03):
Stop telling me they're gonna win something. They're not gonna
win anything. So those were the ones that I was
probably most probably missed on My Dolphins. Can't make no
excuse who's one there, but it just is what it is.
I thought the Dolphins would be twelve and five. I
believe OOS was there. They probably would have made it
to twelve and five. But those were some of the
big ones that that I really liked, and that would
kind of combating with people I was doing shows with
whether it was you and me or filling in, and

(01:40:24):
people just thought, oh another one too, Texans. I thought
ten wins, the Texans are gonna sit right now at
about ten wins.

Speaker 2 (01:40:31):
I didn't see this jump, and you didn't expect it
didn't look like this.

Speaker 4 (01:40:34):
No, I didn't see this jump that everybody thought they
were gonna see at his team. And I was just like, guys, look,
there's something called the sophomore slump, you know rookies, and
this is gonna happen Jayden Dalees next year.

Speaker 2 (01:40:44):
Trust me on this. This is gonna happen with Jaden DALs
next year.

Speaker 4 (01:40:46):
And football, when coaches get tape on you, guys, things change.
You gotta be astronomically good, so overcome that coaches get
tape on you. And I don't want to hear about
people being out. Nico Collins, Michigan in the building Pro
Bowl this year. Congratulations shout out to Nico Collins, womaking
the Pro bo miss.

Speaker 3 (01:41:06):
What six games? How I know, and still made the
Pro Bowl. I mean, I'm not not I'm not good.
He was all Pro when he was playing, but yeah,
say don't miss. I mean he missed six games.

Speaker 4 (01:41:14):
So those are the ones that I that I hands
on had the Ravens win in the NFC North. Also
to excuse me, AFC North had the Ravens winning that one,
So I'll take that one too.

Speaker 3 (01:41:23):
Remember the argument we got in about injury prone quarterbacks
at the start of the year.

Speaker 2 (01:41:29):
Yeah, now, I see you left that one off.

Speaker 4 (01:41:32):
Well, we're not talked about I talked about Oose, I
talked about oos Man. That's why I can't I said
I was wrong about the Dolphins because they didn't have Ooz.
My only thing was the argument we were having is
I said, just make sure we mentioned about the injuries
of all the quarterbacks that.

Speaker 2 (01:41:47):
Gave specifically, and you were like, Burrow is injury.

Speaker 3 (01:41:51):
Prone, but he didn't get hurt this yearn't hurt twice
and he missed the rest of the year, but two
would be missing game.

Speaker 2 (01:41:58):
He didn't get hurt this year.

Speaker 3 (01:41:59):
Burrow.

Speaker 4 (01:42:00):
Listen, Burrow shut me up a little bit this year
cause I was starting to question Burrow. Burrow shut me up,
and I'm a I'm a new really big fan of
Justin Herbert. So Burrow shut my mouth.

Speaker 2 (01:42:08):
I got. I got no beef with Burrow for the
next twelve months. Next year, I won't. I won't be
Smirch Burrow. Burrow can have it.

Speaker 4 (01:42:15):
But I am now going to be a major pom
pom pusher for my man, Justin Herbert.

Speaker 2 (01:42:21):
That's my that's my new guy is Justin Herbert. Now.
Did VJ watch the Bahamas Bowl? Yep? He put a
challenge out.

Speaker 3 (01:42:30):
To America letting everybody know I'm watching every single ball game.
You know what, last week gave him a little bit
of a reprise because he said he had four on DVR. Well,
this week you got no excuse, not zero four and
one last week will evaluate that this guy as well.

Speaker 2 (01:42:45):
With that with j D.

Speaker 3 (01:42:46):
Pickel from on three College Football Inside for Fox Sports Radio.
But first, Steve de Seger, with everything trending in the
world of sports, Steve, you're up.

Speaker 10 (01:42:53):
The one thing I noticed in the two and a
half seconds I watched the Bahamas Bowl is it looked
like a junior high field.

Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
Right.

Speaker 10 (01:43:01):
It was coming up in chunks and just wasn't green
by the second half.

Speaker 4 (01:43:05):
No, they were talking about it too, But why are
you going to the Bahamas to play a bowl game?

Speaker 2 (01:43:10):
Steve?

Speaker 10 (01:43:10):
That's you know, the answer, Like with most of everything
in college athletics would be bunny. Buffalo led Liberty twenty
six nothing fourth quarter, twenty six to seven the final.
Any guess on the attendants at the Bahamas Bowl today.
I'm sure the seats are not very good every year
there because they have a track around what becomes once
a year a football field.

Speaker 3 (01:43:31):
They let the kids and the dog race the dog
around the child six thousand, seven hundred.

Speaker 2 (01:43:38):
I will go twenty five hundred. It's in the middle.

Speaker 10 (01:43:41):
It's four thousand, six hundred for the Bahamas Bowl today.

Speaker 2 (01:43:45):
Wow.

Speaker 10 (01:43:45):
And Liberty's offense six for twenty one passing eighty yards.
Ooh robust three turnovers. Oh, Buffalo twenty six years air corleone,
not air Couriel, that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:43:59):
In the.

Speaker 10 (01:44:01):
Cincinnati Corleo, Cincinnati is four for four on field goals.
They're up nineteen to seven. We have eleven minutes left
in the game at Pittsburgh. Remember early in this game
we said, I know it's early, but this is a
really bad start for the Steelers. They've already lost a
few in a row coming into their season finale. Pittsburgh

(01:44:23):
down nineteen seven at home to Cincinnati. Joe Burrow over
two hundred and fifty yards passing one touchdown, one interception. Meanwhile,
Russell Wilson fifty one yards passing on five of twelve
through the air. The Steelers need a win to clinch
the number five seed tonight. They are tied with the
Chargers in the AFC standings, each at ten and six.

(01:44:45):
Chargers play at Las Vegas tomorrow. Baltimore today clinch the
AFC North and a number three seed with a win
over Cleveland thirty five ten. Ravens finished twelve and five,
but Ravens Pro Bowl wide receiver Zay Flowers left with
the knee entry. Derrick Henry with two touchdown runs in
the fourth for the game, he had one hundred and
thirty eight yards rushing. In college basketball, wins in the

(01:45:08):
top five for Tennessee and Auburn, for Iowa State, Duke
and Alabama, which beat Oklahoma one oh seven seventy nine.
Top ten Kentucky beat Florida to start the day one
oh six to one hundred. Nebraska upset number fifteen UCLA.
Arizona held on to win at number sixteen Cincinnati. In
the NBA, Anthony Edwards scored fifty three points, but Minnesota

(01:45:29):
lost at Detroit one nineteen one oh five Kay Cunningham
of the Pistons with forty points. Nuggets are leading midway
through overtime one fifteen, one oh eight at San Antonio
Nicola jokch with forty four points. They've just finished. At Chicago,
the Bulls beat the Nicks one thirty nine to one
to twenty six despite Carl Anthony Town's forty four points.

(01:45:50):
NHL wins for Montreal. In a shootout for Toronto and Detroit,
Tadeki Matsuyama leads by one stroke in Hawaii over Colin Morikawa.
They each shot third round sixty two's. Again in the
NFL game, with about ten minutes left at Pittsburgh, Bengals
lead to Steelers nineteen to seven.

Speaker 2 (01:46:06):
Back to you, thanks Steve Martin and BJ.

Speaker 3 (01:46:09):
Coming to you live from the tire IRAQ dot com studios.

Speaker 2 (01:46:11):
Still time to see if we can get JD here.
Might not be able to.

Speaker 3 (01:46:14):
I guess he said, since it's the Bahamas ball today,
he's gonna take the day off and watch the game. Disappointed,
I'll just say that, and he knows it. I'll just
giving him a heart time, but I'll say this, uh VJ.
As we watched this game right here, sure, Cincinnati Bengals
Pittsburgh Steelers, Steelers trailing by twelve. Steelers offense has been

(01:46:35):
abysmal for the last four weeks of the year.

Speaker 2 (01:46:39):
This is costing Russell Wilson a lot of money. There's
cost him. But they did.

Speaker 7 (01:46:42):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:46:43):
You know what, No, it's not. I'm not gonna go there.
We no, because here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (01:46:46):
If the season had ended the day before Christmas right now,
if you're Pittsburgh, you're looking at He's as a legitimate
argument for like the Baker Mayfield deal of three years ago,
thirty million dollars guaranteed you know, sixty gar over two years,
that type of deal.

Speaker 2 (01:47:02):
Right now, though, if they're not.

Speaker 3 (01:47:03):
Able to melt some type of comeback led by him,
he won't be the quarterback for the Steelers next you
and not gonna have one more heated argument to end
the football season.

Speaker 2 (01:47:12):
We haven't had a good win in about six years.

Speaker 4 (01:47:15):
Yeah, I know you do. But I'm gonna try to
say something to make you mad. All right, listeners, love it, Listen,
this don't this This is nothing, man, this has been
This has really been lucky. I hate to say that,
but it just really is the truth. This has been
really in spite of it. Yes, he's had a few
shiny spots this year.

Speaker 2 (01:47:28):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (01:47:29):
He had a few moments where he's thrown some balls
and you're looking, oh wow, look at Russell Wilson. That
looks like, Oh, Russell Wilson, that's back to Shaw. Look
how you reverse pivoted out of the pocket. And there's guys,
it's the same thing I was saying about Aaron Rodgers. Guys,
he's gonna make some throws.

Speaker 4 (01:47:42):
He's gonna have some moments where you go up there
it is, there's the Aaron Rodgers right there. If that
was the case, the packers wouldn't have moved on for him.

Speaker 2 (01:47:49):
If that was the case.

Speaker 4 (01:47:50):
Sean Payton went enough dress and I didn't like it,
but he went to undress that man on the sideline
for the world to see and for them to give
him eighty three million dollars this.

Speaker 2 (01:48:00):
Say bye bye, go away, we don't want you.

Speaker 3 (01:48:03):
The only reason why he's in Pittsburgh is because they
fumbled the quarterback position and he was free. And he
was basically free, which is one of my's greatest points.
So us the contract for a backup like you had
to take him.

Speaker 2 (01:48:16):
Nobody else wanted him.

Speaker 4 (01:48:18):
Nobody else was fighting for Russell Wilson, nobody else was
trying to bring that low good contract into He's done.

Speaker 2 (01:48:24):
He's been done.

Speaker 4 (01:48:25):
And I've been saying he's been done since he left
Seattle the year but this year, his last year Seattle
told the world he's done. So this game, this isn't nothing, man,
You've been seeing what he really is. This Mike Tomlin
is a really good coach. He's a great coach. But
there does run. Of course, we're just getting to the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (01:48:45):
Guys.

Speaker 3 (01:48:45):
That's not the Pittsburgh ste If it was the Dolphins,
they'd be throwing parties down there on Washington, they would
be throwing parties down there in Southbeast.

Speaker 4 (01:48:53):
But this is the Steelers, just up. They never finished
under five hundred, they finished out. That's not Pittsburgh still
a standard, it's just not.

Speaker 3 (01:49:00):
But part of the reason why it's not the Pittsburgh
Steelers standard is because of what Mike Tomlin has set
the standard as like it's it's it's.

Speaker 2 (01:49:09):
Before him is the Steelers mark.

Speaker 3 (01:49:11):
They went Super Bowl Mike Tomlin has been the coach
of the Steelers damn near my entire life, all.

Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
Right, Like I hear right, no, but I but I
hear you like I'm not.

Speaker 3 (01:49:20):
You know, I hear you that you suck before him
and Bill Coward.

Speaker 9 (01:49:23):
But at this.

Speaker 2 (01:49:24):
Point it's Tomlin stamped. Right, at that point is Tomlin stamped.

Speaker 3 (01:49:29):
The The problem is their team is never bad enough
to really truly bottom out. They're too good, right suck,
which I know this controversial opinion. Apparently I think that's
a good thing, right, I know they're kind of stuck.
You get a top guy, though, man never free like GM.
You got to make that work. Kansas City ain't getting

(01:49:50):
no top guy either, right.

Speaker 4 (01:49:52):
But but but they have but they have the best
quarterback in football. That's the difference. You're right, they don't
get top that's but that's what best quarterback in football.

Speaker 2 (01:50:01):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (01:50:02):
If we can, in fact get a new guy in there,
some free agent who knows Aaron Rodgers to be available,
Sham Darnold will be available, There'll be a couple of
quarterbacks out there. But right now, let's go ahead. He's
not is he there? He's not, He's not absent, he's
just late.

Speaker 6 (01:50:15):
J D.

Speaker 2 (01:50:16):
Picale ladies and gentlemen. JAD hell you been. What's going on?

Speaker 7 (01:50:20):
Man?

Speaker 2 (01:50:20):
How are you?

Speaker 6 (01:50:22):
I appreciate y'all. Let me jump on here. A little
delayed game action, but I'm fired to be on with y'all. Uh,
baby went out to eat for the first time tonight,
which was a big We're not making excuses, but we are.
We are giving explanations. Fired to be on with y'all.

Speaker 2 (01:50:38):
Appreciate you. I like you. Appreciate it, man, congratulations on that.
Let's go ahead, run through this real quick. JD.

Speaker 3 (01:50:43):
We've got about three or four minutes and I'll doing
what we do. Want to ask you, well, I got
three or four games left, so I want to ask
you about individually, Uh, the Notre Dame game. Notre Dame
and Penn State and Texas Ohio State. Give me your
winner for the big for Penn State first and then Texas.

Speaker 6 (01:51:00):
We'll go raid fire here.

Speaker 1 (01:51:01):
Man.

Speaker 6 (01:51:01):
I mean to me, it's a it's an interesting style.
You got like the cheesecake Factory menu from Penn State.
There's a lot there.

Speaker 5 (01:51:07):
You got the defense, you got, yeah, Drew.

Speaker 6 (01:51:09):
Aller, you got the run game, and then you got
in and out, which is Notre Dame like that. They
do burgers and fries, that run the ball, they do
it well. To me, I saw too much momentum from
Notre Dame. I think their tough schedule in the playoff
will benefit them. So I'll take Notre Dame and that
from that, I believe it's that Frinday that game, and
then Ohio State. Man, like we've all seen how well
they've played out of late, like they to me just

(01:51:30):
feel like a buzzsaw throw to Jeremiah Smith, and I
think they should win the football game.

Speaker 2 (01:51:35):
I'm with you on both of those two.

Speaker 3 (01:51:36):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:51:37):
I've been telling people about Ohio State.

Speaker 4 (01:51:38):
You and I talked about the Michigan and we have
our victory lap and everything, but I told you this
team is very dangerous. They they didn't spend allegedly twenty
one million dollars for nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:51:47):
They have the Jimmies and Joe's.

Speaker 4 (01:51:48):
But this Notre Dame team, and you and I talked
about that on and off the record.

Speaker 2 (01:51:52):
I told you they would beat Georgia.

Speaker 4 (01:51:53):
I thought they'd win their first round game, and I
thought they'd beat Georgia. I am now picking them to
win the national championship. Marcus f Yes, Marcus Freeman's got
to look we tall you and I talked about this brother.
He's got to look in his eye that his team
is taken on. And Norda Dame lost in September seventh
to Northern Illinois and we forgot about him. All they
did is went and beat everybody's asses by thirty seven

(01:52:15):
points on average the rest of the season, and no
one's talking about them. But they get very physical. Man,
Am I jumping too far ahead here? Do you like
the fact that I'm right now naming the twenty twenty
four first twelve team college football Playoff champion the Nordre
Dame Fighter and Irish?

Speaker 6 (01:52:30):
So I like it? As a fan, I love it.
I think Marcus Freeman is so easy to root for,
Like my guy turned down GQ to be the head
coach Notre Dame. Like I think it's phenomenal. My thing
is I just this Ohio State team just looks like
the mon Stars. So a part of me is like, man,
if they got into a spot where that defense can't
hang with all those weapons and they get down by

(01:52:52):
ten like it does, Riley Leonard and this offense have
the juice to play that style.

Speaker 2 (01:52:58):
Of game.

Speaker 6 (01:52:59):
I think, you know, Barbie, it for me to tell
you they can't do it because they just beat Georgia.
But if the defense doesn't have their very best day,
is there other ways for them to win?

Speaker 1 (01:53:08):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:53:09):
So I'm gonna take Ohio State just based on what
we've seen, But as a fan, if Notre Dame one,
I would be selfishly all for it.

Speaker 3 (01:53:16):
Now, I think the funniest outcome of this is Penn
State winning it all because they're good enough to where
nobody would have ever said they.

Speaker 2 (01:53:23):
Can't be in here.

Speaker 3 (01:53:24):
But I think if Penn State was a national championship,
everybody will just leave.

Speaker 2 (01:53:28):
Have a little like that wasn't how this was supposed
to go.

Speaker 3 (01:53:32):
Do you have any shot to the Penn State or
Texas is of the world. And also Bowonus questioned, is
Quinn you were was playing college football next year?

Speaker 2 (01:53:40):
And where I think.

Speaker 6 (01:53:42):
He should be playing football next year? Here's a I
don't have any intel here. I think actually the intel
goes the opposite of this. How about Quinn? You weres
Notre Dame next year? That's how about him soon up
in South Bend? Now, I mean they've taken a portal
quarterback last three year, last two years. Rather, I think
he should play college football. I think he will play
college football. Go ahead and call my shop for Notre
Dame if not there in Miami. I think Penn State

(01:54:04):
makes a lot more sense to win this thing than
than Texas if we're just drawn from those two. I
just think that overall, the consistency of what Texas has
been concerned me, they've seen to need emergency also, I
just I mean what we said about Ohio State, like
I have a hard time going against them with what
we've seen in the last two games in a year
that's been so chaotic, and I mean back and forth

(01:54:28):
and up and down with just different teams we've seen
and the games they've had in terms of chaos, like
it would be the most twenty twenty fourth thing of
all time. With after all of that, it's Penn State
the hoist to trophy in Atlanta, so that would fit.
But again, I'll probably take Penn State before Texas. I mean,
it's just it's been a really really weird deal with
I cannot get to get a gauge on who that

(01:54:49):
team is, especially in different spots where it's like I
mean Quentin Youwer has just been so.

Speaker 5 (01:54:53):
Up and down.

Speaker 6 (01:54:53):
He had the most unassuming three hundred yard games of
all time in Atlanta. So I'll take Penn State before
I take Texas based on their path.

Speaker 2 (01:55:00):
All right, j D, you know you said you were
worried about Texas. Texas is consistency. I'll be honest. I'm
giving you a B minus for consistency today.

Speaker 3 (01:55:09):
But you know the best thing is have another opportunity
once you got another opportunity next week to make it right.
You know you're only as good as your last appearance. Jad,
thanks for coming on the show man. Congratulations again for
taking your baby out into the wild.

Speaker 2 (01:55:20):
I know that was had to be strustful.

Speaker 6 (01:55:22):
I appreciate it being so gracious looking forward to uh
to making a revenge tour starts now.

Speaker 2 (01:55:29):
I appreciate you.

Speaker 3 (01:55:30):
But j D, hey, check you out your brother his

Speaker 2 (01:55:58):
I am sick of all right to hear it about
this team. Djam sick of it. I'm sick of it.

Speaker 3 (01:56:05):
I'm sick of it, Martin Weiss, Jay Husky sitting it
right now for Aaron Torres and Jason mart They're coming
up next. And I am sick and tired. The national
media has been lying to you. But that's all right
because I'm here to tell you the truth. This whole
Nobody wants to see the Cincinnati Bengals in the postseason.

Speaker 2 (01:56:27):
Look, I understand that Joe Burrows on an all time heater.

Speaker 3 (01:56:30):
This is a bad team that does bad things that
is muffed this punt and your Bengals miracle parlay from
a few weeks ago is.

Speaker 2 (01:56:38):
Gonna come up.

Speaker 4 (01:56:39):
Is your front here, This is your fault by putting
out yeah, by playing it on the run down, by
putting it on the rundown. Just so you guys know,
I just want to make sure I show you guys
I had the Steelers and there's gonna be one of
my one of my Tommy Dalls.

Speaker 3 (01:56:50):
But the game was alright. I had the Steelers in
this game. Smart, you see it on the paper, brother.
I picked the Steelers too earlier than today with Alex Kirr.

Speaker 2 (01:57:00):
Patrick still was winning this game. So how dare you?
But this is where it dies?

Speaker 3 (01:57:05):
I have oh my goodness started, Oh my god. Yeah,
Russell Wilson Paul went right through George Picker's hands. Cam
Taylor brid drops in the interception that would have sucked.

Speaker 4 (01:57:14):
Four five targets. Now for pickings, one catch, zero yards.
This is the problem with Pittsburgh. He's their best player.

Speaker 3 (01:57:23):
It's just and right here, your being your best player,
You're gonna be in bad shape.

Speaker 2 (01:57:27):
Let's go ahead and fire it up. By this time
next week.

Speaker 1 (01:57:31):
Most guys make predictions.

Speaker 5 (01:57:32):
These guys, guys tell you the future, and you'll know
all about it by this time next week.

Speaker 3 (01:57:42):
By this time next week, the Cincinnati Bengals will be
without head coach Zach Taylor Audi Jolks when they missed
this playoffs because they lose this game.

Speaker 2 (01:57:51):
Great great, great minds. Think of light. That was on
my list too. I'll jump to this.

Speaker 3 (01:57:54):
By this time next week, the new England Pagers would
have secured the number one overall.

Speaker 2 (01:57:58):
Pick by this time next week.

Speaker 3 (01:58:00):
Another surprise firing if, in fact, I do not think
that Tampa, if they don't win this division, Todd Bowles
is out of there, dude. This division's right there for
the taking. Atlanta played it terribly. I think that's my
second surprise head coach going.

Speaker 4 (01:58:14):
By this time next week, I'll be depressed because the
Dolphins will probably be eliminated losing their wildcard playoff game.

Speaker 2 (01:58:21):
Let's see, by this time next week, here you go.

Speaker 3 (01:58:25):
By this time next week, we're gonna be talking about
what's wrong with the Houston Texans.

Speaker 2 (01:58:28):
How did things go so wrong?

Speaker 3 (01:58:30):
When they move their first playoff game which should be
played Saturday morning, So we'll be we'll be on after
the game.

Speaker 2 (01:58:37):
By this time next week, JJ Reddick will have a
clash with a media member.

Speaker 3 (01:58:42):
Oh so it's just every other week, yes, But like,
but something that's gonna go viral, something that's gonna go viral.

Speaker 4 (01:58:48):
He's gonna go back and forth with somebody. It's coming.
It's what it's coming, guys. You know what, I might
do this myself. By this time next week, I'm gonna
put out a picture.

Speaker 3 (01:58:56):
Look at JJ Reddick from his introductory press conference, and
look at JJ Reddick coaching a game today. The amount
of gray hair reminds me of when Obama went in
and when Obama came out years later. They're thirty four
games in. Yeah, and when Obama was going to President
No Moore, his hair turned back black once he got
to stress away, he turned back black. That's not just

(01:59:16):
for men like my beard. They turned yes, Nope, that's
only v the only VJ does that.

Speaker 2 (01:59:20):
In the mix.

Speaker 3 (01:59:20):
It third and fifteen for the Pittsburgh Steelers Jason Martin
and Aaron Torres.

Speaker 2 (01:59:25):
God bless everybody. Happy New Year, guys.

Speaker 3 (01:59:27):
And of course that's the best college football wrap up
show in the nation.

Speaker 2 (01:59:30):
They'll wrap up this too. Martin White's future Husky. We're out.

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
