Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. I'm not mad.
I'm just really disappointed.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
And all of you just kind of sat in your
chairs and harken back to a day where maybe a
family member told you that, maybe a teacher told you that. Hell,
maybe your kids told you that, or maybe you've used
it on your kids. Today, we'll get to what that's
all about. Just a second, Welcome in. It's another beautiful
Fox Sports Sunday here Fox Sports Radio Studios here locally

(00:32):
in Los Angeles and on remote, my guy Dan Bayer
live from the Women's Yeah, you've got a women's tournament
that you're following today.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Dan out at Aaron Hills back in the homeland. What's
going on, buddy?

Speaker 3 (00:46):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Mike Eightieth Women's US Open final round and the leaders
are going to be teeing off in a couple of hours.
A little bit of buzz around Aaron Hills here because
Nellie corda world number one, is in the hunts looking
for her first US Women's Open, and it's been a
great week.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Weather's played a little.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Bit of an issue on Friday and then yesterday morning
had to carry over the second round.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
But today skies are clear.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
A little bit of haze from the Canadian wildfires that
has kind of blanketed the Upper Midwest. It's been an
issue earlier in the week, but Mike, temps in the
high sixties to low seventies, no threat of rain, and
just great championship golf on the horizon for this afternoon.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Very internationally diverse leaderboard as you get to it, Dan
getting back home and getting around the course. I know
this is one of your favorites, so yes, and you
sent out a photo at Dan Byer on Fox in
the twitterverse find me over at Swollen Dome at Fox
Sports Radio. I retweeted it out and obviously the link

(01:52):
if you're gouting about the iHeartRadio app. But just the
lush greens, the beauty and taking all in. But as
we know, temperamental weather in the Midwest as you get
into June.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Yes, and it is of course that people think that
would it would play like it would in Scotland, and
that's not necessarily the case. There's a lot of things
that have the same characteristics, but you're not doing the
run up shots that you would normally do it in
those sort of courses. And the picture Mike that I
put up on X is not far from where I'm
sitting in the media center here on site at the

(02:25):
Women's Open. As we have a great full view of
the first hole, the par five first and I love
this property and I'm fortunate enough to get back here
about once a year. But it basically, Mike is just
laid out right in front of us, almost from tea
all the way to green five hundred plus yards. We
have a marsh that you can see in the picture.
I tried to do the wide shots so people get

(02:47):
the real, real look of it. But I'll tell you
what's even better is when you watch it on TV.
This is one of those courses that translates to television.
It looks magnificent. Augusta National is obviously the top of
the bar. But sometimes there's a course that you just
say that doesn't look too good. The grass is maybe
a little too broad. E didn't like the way it looks.
Aaron Hills translates on TV. So with no basketball, no

(03:10):
hockey going on today, want you to sit back and
watch some golf.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Stark from Sweden, the leader at seven under corda three
shots back.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
As we get started.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
We've got that up on in the studio full day
of baseball ahead, and so you know when I said,
I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Yeah, it was wonderful.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
I really and.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
This is my own selfishness coming to like, I love
extra basketball, right, we all love Game sevens. For those
that know the network, that know my nighttime work here
at Fox Sports Radio alongside Jason Smith. If you listen enough,
you know he's big Mets Knicks fan. People in the
building here joke about it. We appreciate all year, all's

(03:53):
mindset and mind space. I have to deal with it
every day and I was really hoping to deal with
it on Monday. I'm not gonna lie to you. So
I'm a little disappointed. Blowout loss to finish off the
series in six games, but the fact that I don't
get to see the ride the lightning because Smith this

(04:14):
last week. Dan has been a really good actor. Okay,
what in terms of you know, I'm.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
I'm level headed. I recognize what it is like all
of that.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
I think he was selling me a bill of goods
the whole time, and then it was just under the
surface it was ready to crack. But I needed Game
seven for that to happen.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
I thought it was gonna be the other way. I
thought you were gonna say, thank goodness the Knicks lost.
But there is a little part of me that wanted
a Game seven, so it could be even more heartbreaking.
But I'm fine with the way that you went with it.
I'll tell you what. Watching last night, the Knicks fans
can't be heartbroken because it just I know they're gonna

(04:52):
kick themselves about Game one Mic. I know, like and
they and they should. But ultimately, last night I think
you just saw who the better team was. And I
know Indiana had home court and I don't not even momentum,
but they had the crowd behind them, and you get
on runs and things go crazy because it was their opportunity.
But I think last night was the proof that for

(05:13):
basketball wise, this would have been the finals matchup that
we wanted to see, and that is Pacers Thunder.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Yeah, it's the curiosity for me right of watching this squad,
and as much as I did during the regular season,
I watch regular season basketball, so many of you don't
have to, particularly living and dying with Game fifty three
of the Knicks schedule with Smith. But all of that
to say, I embraced them a little bit, right, a

(05:41):
workmanlike attitude. And not to say that Indiana doesn't have that,
or okay, see doesn't have that. It's just the idea
of a guy like Jalen Brunson style. Maybe stylistically, he
doesn't thrill you, you know, the back end, because I've
always had this problem with the end officiating. I can

(06:01):
back you down and lower my base into you as
hard as I want, repeatedly to get down on the block,
but if I'm facing you and I'm staring you in
the eyes, it's an offensive fall. So I've never ever
quite got that. But all that to say, Jalen Brunson's
a smaller point guard. He's a thick point guard, and

(06:25):
he's a guy that I think we can all relate
to a little bit having played a little bit of basketball, right,
just from a stature compared to the other people you're
running around in the court, right. And they're a team
that is all about intensity defense, with the exception of
Karl Anthony Towns, who you could probably string together five
hours be yelling about it.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
From October first, and you know, we're into the preseason
all the way through to yesterday and now there's all
these reports coming out of the next locker room of
players were dissatisfied with its defensive acumen.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
I'm gonna do use the kind word and go high highbrow,
and coach is losing in mind, in other words, a
lot of freelancing and a lot of lazy closeouts, which
as you saw guys like Miles Turner, I mean he's
spinning the ball to where he wants to shoot up
and has plenty of time to do so.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
And Mike it was on the bench in what game
two of the series because of this like late in
the game. So like that's that's not a surprise, and
it shouldn't be a surprise that if people are mad
about the defensive effort. I think when you ultimately look
at Cat's line, you say, I'm can you argue twenty
two and fourteen and then you end up having the

(07:35):
defensive lapses if you will.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
I do believe that he is dealing with a knee injury.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
It's just every single time he was down, it felt
like he was down grabbing it and you're wondering if
he blew out an ACL or if something happened, but
he would get back up and he'd be just the same.
And maybe the knee injury hampers you, but that's not
the excuse of why you're playing defense the way you are.
And Mike, if you're gutting it out for twenty they
doing fourteen with a bad knee, you have.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
To do it on the defensive end.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
Otherwise you only break even because you're allowing just as
much on the other side.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Yeah, it's still rule of thumb, right, I can only
go with what you did on the court. Right, So
before game five he was a game time decision, right,
we saw that from sny and a number of sources
comes out plays a big game. Nicks survive to see
a game six. But it becomes the all right, what
truly is the question there? And what is the direction

(08:29):
of the squad going forward? You know, all sorts of
the talking heads and folks in our business immediately going, well,
trade him out and he's a great asset to go
get Yannis.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
I'm like, if I'm the Bucks, I'm doing that nothing right.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
No, you can't throw together very package of how many
first round picks they have, because they still have a
couple even after all the Bridge's stuff. But all of
that to say, you know, you had this giant swing
and then in the final game you just got run
off the court, and yeah, fast break opportunities off of
made shots and just fast break opportunities in general, there

(09:05):
was just no keeping up with the number of bodies
that Rick Carlisle could throw out.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
I did see a trade proposal for Giantis from the Knicks,
and the most appealing name was Mitchell Robinson. Kat's name
wasn't put in there like there's there's obviously value to it,
but if it's not working out in New York and
if Minnesota felt that he was, you know, part of
the expendable piece that they could do without as they
tried to make it to the next step. Ultimately we
saw that they got to the same point that they

(09:31):
did last year, but still Minnesota was willing to part
with them.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
That should that should tell you something.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
Now ultimately with the Knicks, Mike, and you look back
at the season, and you look back at even the
series and how it could play out.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
Like your your point about.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
Like what Jalen Brunson has done and maybe what Kat
hasn't done is ultimately why I think it's better for
the Pacers to be in the series, because if the
Knicks won, I think we'd almost get a review of
what we got last year when and Luca went on
that magnificent run leading Dallas, you know, cutting out the
Timberwolves hearts a couple of times, and then you go

(10:08):
and play Boston and then you realize it's a one
man show. It's really not an even series, and then
the season kind of hutters out. Now the Thunder overwhelming
favorites no matter who they would face. I just think
it'll be more of an entertaining matchup now that they
have the Pacers as opposed to maybe trying to face
the one man show of the New York Knicks.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Minus seven point fifty is the series odds installed last
night after the game went final. That implies an eighty
nine percent probability that the Thunder win. So, quoting the
great Dumb and Dumber that we use all the time,
you're saying, there's a chance. Now my favorite moment of
all of this, right, So, you know, not mad, just

(10:47):
a little disappointed that I don't get a game seven again.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
It's great content on air as you ride the lightning
with Smith. It would be all on.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Videotape because as good an actor as he was for
six games, there's no way he's going to be able
to hate it for a game seven because last round,
right going back, uh you know, to to advancing and
getting past Boston. I had one day where I came
in and he goes, you just look unhappy. I go,
I have a splitting headache cause you've been screaming for

(11:15):
fifty five minutes before the show.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
So yeah, I've kind of done with it right now.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
I've heard about the tension of that of you know,
of that of that night and the craziness of one
Jason Smith when when it comes to watching his New
York Nigs. But Mike, it's ultimately comes down to this.
And I thought the postgame comments were interesting. And I
and I even you know, saw the saw the bit
about Kat talking about Jalen Brunson and what he means

(11:43):
to to the Knicks and what he means as a player,
like some high high praise coming from Karl Anthony Towns
about the next point guard. And while I don't think
the Knicks had a chance, there's this there's this interesting
line of we beat the Celtics, that's good enough, which
I don't I don't think that the Knicks fans thought.
But what I also thought came with it, Mike was
not only did we knock off the champs, now we're

(12:07):
the favorites, and I don't know if some overconfidence got
into that where then now it feels like it's it's
a downfall. Maybe the high point should have just been
beating Boston, like maybe that was the ultimate cap of
this and Indiana ends up setting themselves for a run
late in the season. But like, if you were to
tell the Knicks at the beginning of the season, like,

(12:28):
would you take knocking off the Boston Celtics in the
Eastern Conference semi finals and having a magical Game six
in the Garden? I think that you would, like I
think that you would at that point. Maybe I'm wrong.
I don't speak for all Knicks fans, but ultimately that's
maybe how they need to look at how this season was,
because if they to your point of what this line

(12:50):
is at minus seven to fifty with Oklahoma City, it
was minus seven oh five. If the Knicks would have advanced,
they wouldn't have had a much better chance to beat
Indiana anyway, So you know, ultimately, I guess if you're
a Knicks fan, It's really difficult to do. But you
may just have to take the win over the Boston
and just pack that one up and enjoy yourself, because
I'm not sure that they were fit for an NBA
Finals appearance.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Yeah, some of it is the ride the lightning, right,
because with a couple of weeks left in the regular season,
certainly I was living it and talking about it, maybe
more than we should have, but we certainly leaned into
those final weeks of the NBA season trying to figure.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
Out, all, right, where where we're going.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
To get a champion from That isn't from what looked
like the predestined heavyweights, right, But then Cleveland goes to
the wayside Boston, you're getting beat and then you lose Tatum.
You know who's going to upend Oklahoma City? Well it
turns out right now they're a juggernaut and now heavy
favorites for the finals. But with the final weeks of

(13:49):
the regular season, it became a I don't even know
how good this team is.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
You know, we did.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Segments talking about, you know, is Thibodeau going to get
fired based on the way things have been manned in
the reticence to utilize any of the bench guys. And now,
granted he knows better than we do how deep that
roster truly is, and not that we were thinking he
was going to go ten deep, but there were a
lot of games where you know, these guys are running
out forty two forty three minutes a night, like it's

(14:16):
just not sustainable. And to your point, now, was Kat's
knee an issue beyond those last couple games of this
series or was this something lingering that he'd been compensating
for for a while. Either way, he's on the court,
so we have to judge it for what it is.
But you know, reasons and excuses.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
Like how long did it take for them to play
Landry Shammitt right right like? And Landry Shammitt is not
the difference in the series. But the point is, if
everybody is calling out your usage or lack thereof of
reserves and it becomes a huge conversation, it may be
your own idea, it may be yours in the back
of your mind, but the reality is is the perception

(14:57):
is that maybe you listen to the fans and guess
what it ended up seemingly extending some of the Knick's
life in this series where Sham was able to at
least give you some minutes.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
So that's not a great look.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
And I feel that a lot of people think that
Rick Carlisle is the reason why the NBA, why the
Pacers ear in the NBA Finals, and it'd be hard
to disagree with him. He's got a ring, he understands.
So yeah, noth the greatest the series for Tom Diibodeau.
And your point. For as great as the win over
the Celtics was in the semi finals, I'm not sure
if it's enough to quiet things down to the Big Apple.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
All right, last point coming off of this series. Coming
up next, we're gonna take a trip. It is June,
so that means fantasy football.

Speaker 4 (15:37):
Yes, so football magazines will be at your grocery store soon.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
Mike A right, I know.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
The cutoff for Phil Steele's book, I think is like
three days till it goes to print, so all it's
like a you know, tale as old as time. Here,
I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the Larry Bird
Award winner in Pascal Siakam, who had a series very
much like Brett Saberhagen in the mid eighties.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
There you go. I got to bring everybody in.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
So let's go back in the time machine where it
was Cy young Year, okay year, Cy young Year, Okay Year,
seventeen thirty nine, seventeen thirty, fifteen thirty one. But the
key to this was during the presentation, you got a
shot of Tyrese Haliburton pointing to himself before the name

(16:24):
is red. Yes, like it was the great Oh no,
it's like a reality TV reveal as Siakam is named
the Larry Bird Trophy winner and the Eastern Conference Finals MVP.
I thought that was one of the best moments of
this NBA Playoffs thus far.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
He started to walk towards Ernie Johnson and the front
of the presentation because he was kind of sitting back
and I don't know if he was talking to family and.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Who he was necessarily talking to.

Speaker 4 (16:51):
But it's one of those things like where you you
are totally listening, but you're trying to look nonchalant, but
you know that you're but so you know that he's listening,
even though he's giving a peace sign and pointing, and
that he starts to walk up and then it's Pascal Siakam.
Oh hilarious. One of the better pieces of video that
we've had in the last twenty four hours.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
I will take that that.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
I mean the celebrities losing their minds always fun and
the infighting there.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
You know, I'm just I'm gonna say this and you're
gonna hear me talk about this, Mike for the next
two weeks. I've realized what Pacers Nicks is. And for
the younger crowd, you may not get this reference. It's
Super Bowl thirty four, Okay. In Super Bowl thirty four
was the Saint Louis Rams against the Tennessee Titans. And

(17:40):
you had an offense with the Rams that was high octane,
top of the line, best team in the league, kind
of like like Oklahoma City. And then you have this
other team of the Titans coming in where they were
an underdog. Remember Jacksonville was the best team that year.
They end up knocking them off in the AFC Championship Game.
Somehow the Titans find themself.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
I was in a Super.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
Bowl, but Mike, it was a Super Bowl that's nobody
wanted to watch, Like Saint Louis in Tennessee. It was
only one of the best Super Bowls that we had
up until that point and still stands the test of time,
for the for the playmaking and what happened near the end,
and the Rams being one yard short, Mike, even the
uniform colors kind of matchup.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
So just when you think that this could be a
bad series.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
Remember Super Bowl thirty four in Atlanta and how close
the Titans got to knocking off the Rams, and what
a game that was.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
I am cautiously optimistic. Might actually, when we get revisit
and start doing a finals preview next hour, might actually
go the other way, because I am that plucky Here
on a Sunday morning, he's Dan Byer live from Aaron
Hills at Dan Byer on Fox.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Get all his shots.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
He's going to do play by play screaming like a
lunatic because he's not by the tea.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
I can't, Mike, that's not legal. I can't do that.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
But I mean, by the time people hear it, fair enough,
fair enough, all right, So.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
He won't be doing that.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
But we'll uh checking in as you're teeing off and
everything getting set for a big day. But coming up
next we will take a turn into the fantasy realm,
trying to find some value in the afcees division by
division the next two months. We get it started next
here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Hey, welcome back in. It's Fox Sports Radios. Fox Sports
Sunday Mike Harm and Dan Byer with you. Dan live
at the US Women's Open at Aaron Hills, having a
blast at Dan Byron Fox, follow his content at Buyer
Talk at Bayer Graham.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
I got it all, Yeah, gram don't.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
Buy your Graham was once an account, okay until it
got hacked, and yeah, it just never got it back.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
So we'll just put the S on normally. I want
to leave the S off here. Make sure you add
it for the savings and for the views at Swallende
where you find me having a blast with you this morning.
So much going on in the sporting universe, and I
was so excited that I looked at the clock, said, wow,
we had a really great discussion that went long. Where's
my teas for this? Will an event from yesterday cost

(20:21):
you a ring? Real or fantasy wise? It's the AFC
East here Fantasy Play Fantasy Preview. We'll do this over
the next eight weeks and dive in and out the
I watch a flex podcast, obviously, get it wherever your
podcasts and you download your audio, add it to your playlist,
send it to friends and family. Dan and I traversing

(20:41):
the world of fantasy in reality, rankings and all that
fun stuff as the season gets underway, but certainly now
starting to look at the off season and where we
find a little bit of primitive value. And the teas
that I had worked up was congratulations Josh Allen and
the great Hayley Steinfeld seen most recently in Sinners. I

(21:01):
cannot endorse that coogler Michael B. Jordan film enough. I
went to see it twice in the theater.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
Oh okay, and might actually go back.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
For a third before it's done. It's a horror movie
with a lot of layers to it.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
Okay, So there you go.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
She's also part of the MCU, so for those that
want to know over that you you can do that
as well. But Josh Allen last year QB two Dan,
he had two games under ten points, only two others
under twenty. So you're talking about massive production, three point
two points better than Burrow and Baker, and that's including

(21:37):
sitting out Week eighteen.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
I'll tell you, and you look at the rankings.

Speaker 4 (21:41):
In most places, Josh Allen is still Numero uno, and
I think, Mike, it's got to be because of what's
happened with the Buffalo Bills in their offseason.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
No true number one added as a wide.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
Receiver, and now you have James Cook who's holding out
for a contract, and you're looking at it and you're saying, Okay, well,
if Josh Allen's gonna need to run the ball more
because James Cook's got whatever going on, we're talking. We're
talking early June here, so I get it, and a
lot can change. We know when training camp comes, probably
going to be settled out, and I expect James Cook

(22:13):
to be there. But for the sake of the conversation
right now, sure looks like Josh Allen maybe needed some
more at the running game wide receiver position. They got
more depth, Mike. But I don't know if there's anybody
that's gonna top what Khalil Shakir did last year. Maybe
there's an emergence from Josh Will Palmer, who's now in
Buffalo or Keon Coleman takes that next second step, but

(22:34):
not a lot has changed around Buffalo to think that
Josh Allen would have any sort of dip, except that
he's now got a ring on his left finger.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
And we're joking here about that.

Speaker 4 (22:45):
But that's the only thing that seemingly changed this offseason
for Buffalo when it comes to Josh Allen and his
fantasy outlook.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
The version of the Madden Curse taken to fantasy is
kind of what we're looking at here. Twenty eight and
six touchdown interceptions a year ago, obviously, the rushing efforts
over one hundred attempts all but his rookie year last year,
twelve touchdowns back to back years in double digits there
and to your point, just going through and because I'm

(23:15):
a nerd, I went full on. Khalil Shakier last year
was thirty seventh. He had five games with more than
fifteen points in PPR leagues, eleven double digits. That means
an awful lot of ten to eleven point performances along the.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Way you have.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Keon Coleman was seventy first a year ago, so wishing
hoping that in year two he takes a huge step forward.
You mentioned Josh Palmer. He was a guy that loved
watching him with the Chargers. He ranked number seventy four
a year ago. Perhaps a bigger role here can live
in the slot. But the guy that has been a
disappointment for Bill's fans and certainly for fantasy owners, Dealton

(23:52):
Kincaid thirtieth last year, missing four games. He did have
three double digit games on the year, averaging about eight
points per game. But a guy that so much was
expected of to become that safety valve for Josh Allen.
As you roll it through, I loved going through and
finding all the depth charts, and you got Ty Johnson a.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Little bit of Ray Davis last year. Fun as a rookie.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Yeah, I don't know that I read too much into
the cook Obviously, he wants to get paid like all
those other guys did because you see the huge numbers.
So it's like, hey, if you pay me really well,
even better or something like that. But all of that
to say, it's like, once you hit veteran status, even
if you are a young veteran.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
Probably not showing up pro tas either.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
If I've got a little bit of leverage and all
it does is say, Okay, we'll get you into camp,
take your days off, go on your last vacation.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
We'll see you there.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
But trying to get that massive payday, I don't know
that you've quite earned the twelve fifteen and everything that
got doled out a year ago.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
Maybe not, But Mike, we know where the bills are
and this situation, and they know that the clock is ticking,
and so the urgency to get something done, which made
me in an overpay, I think is in play.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
And I think that you're right.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
James Cook's going to hold out and then when training
camp comes around, maybe it'll do the hold in sit in,
But at some point he's going to be on the
field because Buffalo needs him. And to your point of
how they didn't address that position necessarily in the offseason,
they're going to need James Cook. The Buffalo is the
only team in the NFL. I think Florio had this
a week or two ago that would be favored in

(25:33):
every single game this season. So if you do your
hypothetical alliance, maybe it was ESPN as one of the two,
but every single game they're going to be favored. The
Chiefs and Ravens I think we're sixteen and one, but
that's partly because they have to go to Buffalo for
their games where they will be underdogs, but that'd be
the only game they'll be an underdog.

Speaker 5 (25:51):
Four.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
But that's what you've got with the Bills. So you
talk about high expectations. It's the last season of high
Mark Stadium. Not that that means anything for fantasy wise,
but this team, this team needs to go to a
super Bowl. They need to go and win a super Bowl,
and this season is the prime opportunity. So I expect
James Cook to be there. I expect the wide receivers

(26:14):
to do what they did. You read off you know,
Khalil Shakir's stats. The Dalton Kincaid part Mica, that I
have a quick question about is how much is that
Joe Brady? Because he took over full time as the
offensive coordinator last season, So how much is it Joe Brady?
And maybe the tight end maybe not being as important
as it was previously, So it's probably why you're seeing

(26:34):
him as low as you are in certain rankings. I
just i'd be tentative after I was really high at Dalton.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
Kinkaid last year year as we look at it coming
into this and where we sit right now, and this
is something I contribute to the fun and exciting world
of fantasy pros. Kincaid coming in at number thirteen, behind
Dallas Goddard and just ahead of Colston Loveland Bears and
Tyler Warren of your Indianapolis Colts.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
So there you go.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
Yeah, I'd rather roll the dice on the rookie right.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
Well, I think I would do right even though there's
a lot of mouths to feed in Chicago and but Indianapolis,
you've got a couple of players I'm gonna love Josh Downs,
Pittman went healthy, all of those fun things. Danny Dimes
or Anthony Richardson and are they getting him the ball?
A Ton Maybee? Maybe you fix Dandy Dimes. We'll see

(27:25):
what happens as we flow through there, but certainly you've
now made one of my notes for the offseason is
we'll be doing a dollar money line and letting it
ride on the bills every week.

Speaker 4 (27:38):
I'll say this, Mike, what's funny And because as we
kind of look at this whole division, Buffalo has the
worst running back room, Like what you would you would
look at what they've got New England upgraded with Trevion
Henderson there now with UH with Romandre Stevenson. The Jets,

(27:59):
we don't know what they're gonna be. But I love
Briece Hall and Brayleen Allen. I'm curious to see how
that plays out in New York now with Justin Fields
us as their quarterback. But the question is, because you've
got Lions personnel coming over to New York, do they
do the same thing where hey, guess what little thunder
and lightning or whatever whatever Montgomery and Gibbs are called.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
I already forget perfet knows what he's thought. What I'm
talking about? What is it? Something in Knuckles?

Speaker 1 (28:25):
What is it Sonic and Knuckles sonon game here?

Speaker 3 (28:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (28:29):
Okay, So but the Jets, like if you wanted to
use Brailen Allen as like you're battering Ram if you will,
like you could do that, like he's young enough, he's
physical enough, and then you can use Breece halland all
the other situations that you want to almost in a
Gibbs sort of role. So it's curious to see, Like
we you know, talk about Buffalo, but they may have
the worst running back situation, especially obviously with James Cook

(28:50):
being out right now than anybody in that AFC East,
because I think the Patriots got depth.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
And I love a chan. I think he's gonna be
the only thing that Dolphins have this year.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
I mean, you know, well that's one of the big
there's two huge questions in the division, right, dealing with
two wide receivers. We know about Stefan Diggs. I'm on
a boat and two sy I think is how you
pronounce it right. I'm trying to show my get my
street cred and whatever was going on substance on the
on the boat, not that you saw anybody ingesting right,

(29:23):
and a lot of discussion whatever as to whether the
Patriots no absolutely right. Look, it might have just been
pink Himalay and sugar first, Himalayan salt, I'm sorry, or
some kind of sugar and confection that you put on
top of a cupcake. Again without full knowledge of what
anybody took and tests to prove it. It's a lot

(29:45):
of in theory kind of discussion. But Scott Zolak went
on air saying, hey, the behind the scenes Patriots and
Mike Vrabel and you saw his comments like, look, we
need to be good decision makers. We need to be
really good, like you must said it nine times. If
it was a drinking game, you would have been under
the table from a thirty five second sound bite the

(30:06):
way he went through it and coming back off a
huge injury last year forty seven, ninety six and three
before getting hurt, he had four games with eighteen or
more points. But he didn't play after week eight with
the ACL right for Houston in his one year there.
So you've got questions there, and you've got questions of

(30:26):
is Tyreek Hill in the marketplace potentially as a post
June first trade and a lot of dancing around in
the in the press and cleaning up and dotting eyes
and crossing t's and whatever to make that as pretty
as it can be internally.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
Of hey, I like it here. I love it here.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
I'm looking forward to working with coach McDaniel, which might
be window dressing for all right. He's good, he understands
where we're at, and all this come get him. And
then you got the John new Smith trade rumor, which
makes no sense whatsoever to Pittsburgh. You've got prior Mooth.
I mean, obviously you'd love another weapon, but He's an
eighty eight reception guy a year ago. Yeah, fourth and

(31:06):
Fantasy had his big games and has finally had his breakthrough.
Was a pro bowler and the true safety valve.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
You know, we might overuse her.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
I may overuse that term, but for two tongue of
ba Loo who the whole thing is predicated on, Hey,
get the ball out early.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
I don't know how you could give that guy up.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
I agree with you because he was fantasy wise money
for so many. I think there was a game too
where like he didn't have a catch in the first
three quarters whatever, and then they end up playing in
overtime and he ends it with ten catches and one
hundred yards.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
I'm just completely going.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
Off the top of my head for the specific game,
but the point remains he was so valuable to the
Dolphins last year. And when you look at the Tyreek
Hill conversation and something we addressed in the I Want
Your Flex podcast, when we did our mock draft, no
one wanted to take Tyreek Hill. No one did in
our top sixty. I took one for the team just

(32:00):
because he fell so far. But I don't think that
that's a great situation in Miami. If they get rid
of John hu Smith, even more reason to draft him
on a chn because I just don't think it's gonna work.
And it makes me then wonder, all right, is this
team tanking? Like are they tanking to try to get
one of the young quarterbacks because they don't want to
say that they don't believe in Tua.

Speaker 3 (32:21):
But this just doesn't seem like it's gonna work in Miami.

Speaker 4 (32:24):
And so for the last couple of seasons, we think
that it's been fantasy jackpot at least Wonderland with Waddell
and Tyreek obviously, and h Han Moster was great and
the emergence of John hus Smith, and now I'm just
starting to wonder, especially if these trade conversations are what
they are with the Dolphins. But you know, if I'm
Mike Vrabel in New England, I would say goodbye to

(32:45):
Stefan Diggs. They've changed every like, They've changed so much
on both sides of the ball, And if we know
anything about them, they're going to run the ball and
be physical and try to protect Drake May. That's why
you drafted Will Campbell. That's why I like their running
back room so much. And I even go back to
just lat year when they gave Romandra Stevenson that contract
when it didn't make sense that they were going anywhere.
But they like Romondra Stevenson. They really liked Drevion Anderson.

(33:08):
He can be a game breaker. He can play all
three downs if they wanted to use them. I don't
think they're going too early, but it's kind of why
I like. I like New England's running back Room even
better than what I said with Buffalo.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
We'll dig a little deeper next hour at running back
Room being a focal point as well as the two
Headed Monster in New York. And we've got to give
more love to a Chan as we continue here, but
we've got to first turn it over to our guy,
Isaac Low and Gron get ourselves an update of a
busy day in sports. And I know you're upset at

(33:39):
our truth being released by the WWE.

Speaker 6 (33:43):
I am so heartbroken over this. I saw the tweet.
I am outraged. My lower lip is quivering with devastation
right now.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
Thanks for mocking me. I always know I can count
on you. I mean, there's.

Speaker 6 (34:05):
Seventy thousand comments. Oh I'm sorry that was Ron Killings
getting released, but yes.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
It is Ron killing? Yeah, are true?

Speaker 6 (34:18):
Well that tells you how much I know about the
WWE that Ron killings and our truth.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
Are the same person a recent appearance. Anyway, what do
you got?

Speaker 6 (34:30):
Well, as long as we're pulling this scab, see, I'm
I still go back to the golden era in my
opinion of the ww WH who was known as the WWF.
But as I gracefully segue away from this, the golden
era for the Indiana Pacers rolls on because in Game
six of the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday night, they
defeated the New York Knicks one, twenty five to What

(34:51):
a way to advance to the finals for the first
time in twenty five years. Pascal Siakam thirty one points,
named series MVP, and Tyrese Halliburton twenty one points and
thirteen assists. It'll be the Pacers at Oklahoma City beginning
this Thursday night in the NBA Finals aka the Paul
George Alumni Classic. Anyway, and golf, Scottie Scheffler, at eight

(35:13):
under par overall, has a one shot lead in the
final round of a Memorial. He will tee off at
two of five Eastern and in tennis at the French
Open today.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
Get this.

Speaker 6 (35:21):
American Tommy Paul won his fourth round match to become
the first American man to reach the French Open quarterfinals
since Andre Agassy back in two thousand and three. Right now,
fellow American and incidentally, Jackson Mahomes looklike Ben Shelton trails
his fourth round match to two seed Carlos al Karaz.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
Al Karraz won the.

Speaker 6 (35:46):
First set in a tie break and seconds ago won
the second set six to three, so he's up two
sets to none. Another American, Francis Tiaffo, just underway in
his fourth round match against Germany's Daniel Altmeyer, and Tiapo
won the opening.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
Game of the first set.

Speaker 7 (36:03):
Guys, back to you.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
Thanks, I Loo Hey, coming out next.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
Eight's enough when it comes to the best of the best,
we'll explain it next.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
He's Dan Byer.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
I'm Mike Harmen and this is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (36:14):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (36:17):
Grady's to welcome back in here live Fox Sports Radio Studios,
Fox Sports Sonday, My Karma, Dan Byer. Without further Ado,
here's the giant microphone. You've got a latch studio audience there, Dan.

Speaker 4 (36:29):
I do Mike and it's time to play the feud
with the Fox family, made up of Mike Harmon, Chris Purfetz,
producer Shay and Isaac Glohencron guys, top eight answers on
the board. Three strikes are available. Three strikes and the
game is over. And there's a new twist. Not only
will we have a pass, but I'm sorry my voice
cracked there. Not only will we have a pass, but

(36:52):
if you get the ninth answer on this list, I
only need top eight, I will take away a strike.
So it's not a penalty, but it's not necessarily a
right answer. So if you guess the ninth answer on
this question, I'll take away a strike. But I just
need the top eight answers. When I ask you, guys
this simple question, I need the eight US metro areas

(37:14):
with the most titles across all four major sports. Kind
of tied into this four major sports thing. Did it
a week ago, Now we're doing it with titles. Mike Harmon,
the eight US metro areas with the most titles across
the NFL, Major League Baseball, the NBA, and NHL combined.
Let me start with Boston, all right, show me Boston

(37:37):
Celtics Patriots doing their work. Number two on our list,
with forty championships. Let's go to producer Shay So I.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Have to say number two. No, no, no, number two,
I see, I see, Okay, okay, okay. Let's just go Chicago.

Speaker 4 (37:56):
Chicago Bulls had all those titles, right, Mike.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
Yeah, Ry Times, Blackhawk Style.

Speaker 4 (38:02):
Absolutely show me Chicago, Hey, and they won games you know,
long long time ago, we were champions as well.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
Twenty nine. That's third on our list. Let's go to Chris.

Speaker 1 (38:11):
Purfett, New York Baby, show.

Speaker 4 (38:15):
Me the Big Apple, Numero udoal with fifty four. Most
of any over to Isaac Loh and.

Speaker 6 (38:22):
Cron because of the Steelers and the Pirates a long
time ago and the Penguins. I'm gonna go Pittsburgh, Show
me Pittsburgh.

Speaker 4 (38:30):
Number six. There are sixteen titles. Number eight on our list,
the last one four for four. Mike Carmen, back around.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
To you here again.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
We're gonna have a commercial break that'll take us to
the ultimate finish of this game. But a reminder shortly
after the show the podcast goes up. If you've missed

Speaker 1 (39:02):
How about all of those Detroit hockey wins.

Speaker 3 (39:04):
Oh, there were a lot of them.

Speaker 4 (39:05):
Show me Motown there it is number five with twenty
two titles.

Speaker 3 (39:11):
Over to Shay, I'm.

Speaker 4 (39:12):
Gonna go U La here, show me LA twenty seven.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
We're close to a perfect game. Chris Purfett.

Speaker 7 (39:21):
Oh boy, this is where it's gonna get dicey. Now,
do do do do do do do do?

Speaker 3 (39:25):
No strikes on the ball.

Speaker 7 (39:26):
I know I this is gonna be a problem because
I I'm going to say before I'm gonna say San Francisco,
I'm gonna say the Bay Area.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
Show me San Francisco.

Speaker 4 (39:41):
Nineteen championships in at number six, Mike, we have one
answer to go. Let's let the perfect game hang in
the balance. There is one answer left. Yeah, we'll have
three cracks at it, but one answer to fill our game.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
So that included all those titles in Oakland before the
Warriors move.

Speaker 1 (40:01):
How about that?

Speaker 2 (40:02):
He's Dan, I'm Mike, the dramatic finish of the few
decks here on Fox. Greetings and welcome in second hour
of the program. As we get things rolling here, It's
Fox Sports Sunday, Fox Sports Radio Mike Carmon alongside me
and my tag team partner Dan Byern. You hear them
weekdays as part of the Doug Gottlieb Show, and Cavino
and Rich joins me on the Eywatcher Flex podcast. Fantasy Football, NFL,

(40:26):
whatever else pops in pop culture and other random references,
usually off of my scattered brain as we go through
stream of consciousness.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
I kind of like right now. You can stream this show.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
All our Fox Sports Radio shows live twenty four to

the top of your screen. We appreciate you wherever, however
you're listening to us. As US four hundred in some

(41:02):
odd stations nationwide, the iHeartRadio app, and sometimes just the
voice in your head that is Me and Dan at
Dan Byron Fox where you find them at Swollen Dome
for me, Dan's live at Aaron Hills Golf Course. Side
of the US Women's Open presented today as we got
a pretty packed leaderboard. International put a lot of countries

(41:25):
and flags on.

Speaker 4 (41:26):
Displayer Dan there are, but there are a lot of
players who are familiar with the game in the States,
including your leader, Maya Stark, who played collegiately at Oklahoma State.
So yeah, there's players that understand this type of golf.
So it's not as it's jarring when you see the
flags on the leader board, but like a lot of

(41:48):
this stuff, these players are accustomed to playing here in
the States. But the biggest name of all, Nelly Korda,
being on the leader board a huge boost as she
looks for her first US Open wins. She ended up
playing the first two two rounds with Charlie Hull, who's
also a very popular player on tour. Hull right now
to under on her round early on, so she's at

(42:09):
least now gotten into the top ten. But some familiar
names but not a lot of US Open champions at
the top of the leaderboard. Minj Lee is sitting at
three hundred part she's four shots back. She won three
years ago behind Needles. So when you talk about pedigree
and coming down the stretch for this championship, which I
think is the most prestigious of any of the five

(42:30):
majors that the women play for, there's not going to
be a lot of experience of the players holding that
trophy aside from Minji Lee. So it shouldn't, Mike, make
for a pretty interesting afternoon here at Aaron Nails.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
Now we left a cliffhanger at the end of last hour.
We'll get to in a second. Would be remiss if
I didn't bring up the Memorial tournament that's also going
on and different week, same results. Scottie Scheffier sitting atop
the leaderboard a one stroke lead heading into the final
round today.

Speaker 4 (42:59):
I was gonna say, hey, they should call it the
Memorial because Scotty Scheffler's leaving everybody in the dust, in
the dirt and six feet under and leaving them in
his wake.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
Sixty eight yesterday, the funny clip, Mike, and I don't
know if you saw it.

Speaker 4 (43:13):
I don't know if others saw it on Instagram, but
it made its way on.

Speaker 3 (43:18):
Twitter as well.

Speaker 4 (43:19):
Scotty Scheffler was hitting balls yesterday after his route of
sixty eight and a fan yelled to Scotty on the range,
hey save some of those for tomorrow. And Scheffler's caddy,
Ted Scott, who previously caddied for Bubba Watson and now
it's been with Scotti Scheffler for a while, said like

(43:40):
do worri a partner a lot more where those came from.
That no need to worry, which I thought was a
great comeback, But it also instills confidence in your player,
who's the best in the world and obviously has been
on a great streak winning the PGA and now having
a chance at the Memorial. But I thought it was
a great line, funny exchange. But yeah, it's also why

(44:02):
they're professionals. But Scotti Scheffler, I think we'd be shocked
if he didn't win, even if it's though it's a
one shot lead for for as great as he's been
over the last month.

Speaker 2 (44:09):
Or so, I kind of feel like we need to
produce shirts by the end of the day with that
slogan on them because I think that's what we all
aspire to and anything we're doing. Yeah, I got I
mean it's more or less the clubber laying from Rocky three.

Speaker 1 (44:23):
I got a lot of.

Speaker 3 (44:24):
More, yep. And where that game from.

Speaker 1 (44:27):
That's where we're at, all right.

Speaker 2 (44:28):
We got major League Baseball a big discussion because you know,
baseball front and center here in the Greater Los Angeles area,
and they were part of our Q and A.

Speaker 1 (44:38):
As we left the feud with.

Speaker 2 (44:40):
A giant cliffhanger, one answer left on the board, Dan,
So I hand the stick microphone back to you.

Speaker 4 (44:46):
I'm going to bring it back to you and we're
gonna change it up just because we went a little
long with it.

Speaker 3 (44:51):
And here's the situation.

Speaker 4 (44:53):
We don't have any strikes, we have a perfect game available,
and we have four minds. So instead of putting you
guys on the spot with these three strikes, and again
if you get number nine, it's actually four strikes.

Speaker 3 (45:04):
But we're looking for the.

Speaker 4 (45:05):
US top eight metropolitan areas cities, if you will, with
the most titles across all major sports. We had to
do metropolitan area because the Bay Area was taken off
the board at number six with nineteen championships we've taken.
We've got New York, Boston, Chicago, La, Detroit, the Bay Area,
and Pittsburgh. There is one city left and I kind

(45:30):
of want you guys to work shop this out, so Mike,
we can bring in Shay and Chris Burfett in Isaacs.

Speaker 6 (45:35):
Do you you mind if I just actually we have
a special guest who would like to.

Speaker 3 (45:41):
Tell Isaac's taking the wheel. Mike, look out, what are
you doing?

Speaker 1 (45:46):
Do you guys?

Speaker 2 (45:47):
No, he talks in an hour, he's you can get
three hours that he's going to fill your ears with facts.

Speaker 1 (45:53):
It's not him, it's not Sorry.

Speaker 2 (45:55):
I have a camera in my siteline of where you're
at high left, so I was his woming. You were
being kind of the the boat.

Speaker 1 (46:03):
Was being taken. Oh I must oh.

Speaker 6 (46:04):
I'd never let that happen. I have too much respect
and reverence for our listeners. I'm just this is actually
the special guest who I thought could contribute.

Speaker 3 (46:19):
Isaac Philadelphia for this. So you guys on bord with that.

Speaker 7 (46:23):
I think that was we were talking the break. That
was Mike, you were lined up for Philly. I was
lined up for Philly.

Speaker 2 (46:28):
But you know, it's always trying to think of my
history lessons, right, and how many hockey titles, because that's
really I think the uh the sticking point.

Speaker 1 (46:37):
For a lot of us.

Speaker 3 (46:38):
Yes, right, all right, how.

Speaker 1 (46:39):
Many of those are in the past hockey sticking?

Speaker 6 (46:42):
I get job you broad Street bullies.

Speaker 2 (46:45):
Hey, I learned from Dan Okay, I learned from the best.

Speaker 7 (46:49):
I'm curious how close this is going together because we
were talking about it, Dan, I think you mentioned nineteen for.

Speaker 3 (46:56):
The Bay Area, for the Bay Area, yes.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
And we were talking the break and I know St.

Speaker 7 (47:01):
Louis, the Saint Louis Cardinals have eleven championships, and you
start tacking on the one Saint Louis Rams of the
greatest show on turf. I think the Blues might have
a cup in there.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
We're missing other teams that have moved out of Saint Louis.

Speaker 3 (47:13):
I don't think one of them. Shane knows, Saint Louis Hawks.

Speaker 4 (47:18):
It's what got a banned from the show for around.

Speaker 1 (47:22):
You were banned from this show. YEA guy behind.

Speaker 4 (47:25):
You because Steve Harvey's feeding them answers in a question
where it was Warriors, Celtics and Saint Louis Hawks, Shay
pulled out Saint Louis Hawks out of no where.

Speaker 1 (47:35):
I'm a big fan. You've been watching this. I was
the womb, the.

Speaker 6 (47:39):
Big admirer of Alex Hannam and Bob Tennant, those guys.

Speaker 4 (47:43):
All right, So again we're looking for the US city
with the most championships in the Big Four. What do
you guys want to go with? Mike, I'm gonna give
you the final answer. You got Philadelphia out there, you
got Saint Louis out there. Where do you want to go?

Speaker 1 (47:57):
What about the Packers? Hey? We have you mentioned l
A I think this is yeah, and we have mentioned Eli. Yeah,
so we go back there?

Speaker 5 (48:03):
What was it?

Speaker 2 (48:03):
Boston, Chicago, New York, Pittsburgh, Detroit, LA, and the Bay Areas?

Speaker 1 (48:08):
Okay, yes, yes, all right?

Speaker 2 (48:11):
So I was leaning Philly and whenever we can get
sparkly glasses and rhinestones in I'm still getting someone to
make me a white Sox suit that looks like what
Elton John had at Dodger Stadium. I'm gonna say Philadelphia.
I'll stick with it.

Speaker 4 (48:25):
Well, guys, I got some bad news and some good news.

Speaker 3 (48:31):
The bad news is that Saint Louis was number nine
on the list. That was card. Yes, wow, number nine
with fourteen.

Speaker 1 (48:38):
How about that.

Speaker 3 (48:39):
The good news are the words of Elton John. I'm
still standing and so are you.

Speaker 4 (48:44):
Perfect game Philadelphia, that is your answer at number seven.

Speaker 3 (48:49):
Actually time for six. They have nineteen champion gips as well, seven.

Speaker 4 (48:53):
In baseball for the NBA, six in the NFL predating
the Super Bowl, and then two in the NHL.

Speaker 6 (49:00):
We'd actually like to be the first in the world
this year to actually give credit to the Athletics because
they won five of those championships when they were the
Philadelphia As back in the day, back in the day.

Speaker 4 (49:12):
And if we did this North American style, the championships
of the Montreal Canadians, Yeah, yeah, put them high on
this list. But that would have that would have just
complicated things because then you could throw cfl in if
you wanted to.

Speaker 6 (49:27):
The Montreal Aloets. Yes, eight times great Cup winners, by
the way, but no, it's the curious answer when you
get towards the back of this list. Right, So Saint
louis just off the grid. But my brain starts going to.

Speaker 2 (49:39):
Like old football right of league titles where we talk
about Yes Bay, we talk about Cleveland, right, we could
laugh at all we want now, but once upon a
time they were a juggernaut.

Speaker 7 (49:49):
And Montreal almost feels like cheating because it's like, okay,
one of the six original six is going to get
a Cup in a given year, right, I know, that's
racking up the score for like Detroit Rangers, but like Rangers,
Boston and even Detroit had enough you know, cups later
on where it's like that's fine, but the Canadians, like
most that's happening when it's just six teams.

Speaker 4 (50:09):
Well, this question was also interesting to me because we've
got Indiana, I mean, not necessarily the hotbed for championships,
aside from the Colts win Super Bowl forty one.

Speaker 3 (50:21):
Sorry Mike, Yeah, I mean that's all right.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
I mean it was the Prince Purple reigns. Yeah, surely,
nothing that happened on the field.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (50:28):
And then Oklahoma City is just the one, you know,
one team town. So they're not on this list, but
your guess of Green Bay they were tenth.

Speaker 1 (50:37):
They were really right there behind because it's all.

Speaker 3 (50:39):
Packers Cleveland ten championships.

Speaker 4 (50:41):
They were thirteenth as well, two with the Baseball one
with the Cavaliers obviously. In twenty sixteen, you also had Baltimore, Dallas,
and Washington make the list prior to that nation's capital obviously,
but with nine championships.

Speaker 3 (50:55):
But yeah, that's the who's who.

Speaker 4 (50:57):
So when you have a you have an NBA Finals,
we have Oklahoma City in Indiana, we think Miami and
what you know they've done in South Florida.

Speaker 3 (51:06):
Oh yeah, you know, but it hasn't.

Speaker 4 (51:08):
Been because you know, the Dolphins probably didn't win as
many Super Bowls as people think they did.

Speaker 3 (51:14):
He'd have a couple, you know, have their three titles.

Speaker 7 (51:16):
But yeah, yeah, Marleans the Panthers, but that's still just
one last year.

Speaker 1 (51:23):
Yeah, one counting.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
So so a good question, guy.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
All Right, I wouldn't want to disrespect that Super Bowl
fully because it did make Devin Hester a Hall of Famer.

Speaker 3 (51:33):
So rightly, so too rightly.

Speaker 2 (51:35):
So absolutely, there you go Bears as they rode Rex Grossman.
See now I get to stump for Rex Grossman. Did
I take it a bridge too far?

Speaker 3 (51:44):
Well, i'll tell you what.

Speaker 4 (51:45):
You know. What else I like about this NBA Finals
matchup as we're talking about cities, is I think you've
kind of gotten fed up with it too as well.
But I've seen it more on social media, people just
being like, all right, enough, can we talk about whether
ESPN and ABC like this finals or not?

Speaker 3 (51:59):
And what the ratings are going to be.

Speaker 4 (52:00):
It's obviously going to be a conversation, but now I
feel like there's actually pushback to that conversation.

Speaker 3 (52:06):
And always just felt like, oh geez, what are the
ratings going to be? What are the rings?

Speaker 4 (52:09):
I don't think most people care, And now I feel
that a lot of people are feeling the same way
when it comes to that, And I think this Finals
is ratings may be bad, who knows, but really who
cares even if they are?

Speaker 2 (52:19):
Yeah, And I love the speech from Ernie Johnson and
all the guys. There's a story. I mean, I look,
hopefully everybody's gainfully employed and it moves on. Things change, okay,
broadcast partners change. Between that and Around the Horn, I
don't think we've spent more time lamenting the change of
a show since Mash went off the year in nineteen

(52:42):
eighty two. Sure, or Seinfeld abruptly ended with that episode
that folks still wring their hands over.

Speaker 4 (52:50):
Did you get the sense I got the sense last
night that the TNT sign off kind of overshadowed what
was happening, Like you can celebrate the Pacer and the Knicks,
but there, I mean, there was just heck even it
was it Rick Carli that took the mic from Ernie
and said like, hey, you know, congratulations to you guys,
this is your final broadcast during the ceremony, and then

(53:12):
there were you know, tributes and tributes and then the
whole deal. So it was I felt like, after a while,
my gush, when I've ben talking about the pasers and mix,
we're talking about the look back from TNT and what's
going on and what we love is the show and
TNT is not going anywhere in the sports world.

Speaker 3 (53:28):
French Open is going on right now, Stanley Cup a final, like.

Speaker 4 (53:31):
The whole deal. But yeah, it did feel like it
kind of overshadowed the game six win last night.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
Yeah, and obviously wish everybody well. It's a hard business.
It's an ever changing business. There's no question about if
their longevity stands out. And obviously the quality of content
for all these years, the one liners that we plucked
along the way, and perhaps my my sense of it,
Dan is a bit skewed for the fact that I'm
on air when anything they're saying is happening. So unless

(53:57):
it becomes a viral moment, I'm not watching the Inner
playing sure with any sound. I've got closed captioning, which
is gonna be fractured representations of it. So I take
nothing away from the content. It just we we we
seem to be really playing a lot about they're moving
over somewhere else and they're talking about potentially fighting and
having an Anchorman style fight with all the other people

(54:19):
that are already at ESPN and ABC Shaq using a
bunch of f bombs to talk about they're imminent takeovers.

Speaker 1 (54:28):
So I don't know, I'm more excited about that.

Speaker 4 (54:34):
It's it's gonna be weird, it's gonna be interesting. But
as long as they keep doing what they're doing, I
think that we'll probably get adjusted pretty quick.

Speaker 1 (54:41):
We generally do. Like life gives us a lot of
jarring moments, Mike.

Speaker 4 (54:46):
I never thought I would get used to the Guardian's nickname,
and now I'm like so used to it. And when
you just think of like, it's still like Deon's you
just changed, like the first part. Okay, that makes a
lot more sense. So this when this happens, people will
get adjusted to.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
Yeah, I mean, I still miss the Washington football team,
but I understand it's the Commanders.

Speaker 3 (55:05):
Now, sure, yeah, absolutely, I just loved football.

Speaker 4 (55:08):
The San Diego La Chargers thing is the one that
still makes a lot of us up, though for whatever reason.

Speaker 1 (55:14):
Psychologically it is not shifted just yet.

Speaker 3 (55:17):
No, not yet.

Speaker 2 (55:18):
All the billboards and Jim Harbaugh along the four H
five in between, all of the accident attorneys will not
change that.

Speaker 3 (55:24):
In just it just flows. That's the problem.

Speaker 1 (55:28):
Had a song that was a big hit.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
Oh and now I want to go and I'm going
to go to the Burbank Sports cards and I'm just
gonna buy a bunch of late seventies Chargers cards just
so I can relive Dan Fout's run with all of
those wide receivers and tight ends.

Speaker 1 (55:44):
There you go, He's Dan Bayer.

Speaker 2 (55:46):
Congratulations everybody on a fantastic finish to the feud at
Dan Byer on Fox where you find it. He's live
at Aaron Hill's home of the US Women's Open today
or keeping an eye on that.

Speaker 1 (55:57):
Got a full date of Major League baseball.

Speaker 2 (55:59):
Including the final game of a series here in Los Angeles.
A lot of fireworks, a lot of runs and things
falling from the sky, not just the home runs. We'll
talk about that next year on Fox. Welcome back in
Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Sunday, Mike, Carmen, dan Byer
with you, thanks for being with us. Thanks to Chris
and Shay and Ilo making a sound so pretty this morning,

(56:21):
the perfect feud, the connection there at Aaron Hills sounding
crisp and clear. Did you see any big drives, anything
huge on that first hole?

Speaker 3 (56:30):
You know, I can see, but my eyes aren't that good.
I can see the players.

Speaker 4 (56:35):
I can see players punting on the green as we
speak right now, as I look to my right. In fact,
if I twist far enough, I can see where the
balls would be landing in the fairway. But I can't
quite see what's happening with the little white sphere exactly.
But again, the picture that I put up on axis
kind of a kind of a panoramic shot, Mike, but

(56:56):
it's so neat because that's the entire first hole that
they have at the Championship Part five, and you can
get off on the right foot in your final round today.

Speaker 2 (57:05):
Awesome stuff. Check him out on Twitter on x at
dan Byron Fox. Find me over at Swollen Dome. As
we go through the day, more content coming. We got
a little bit more to wrap a bow on the
AFC East for fantasy purposes, a couple more players to
highlight as we go. But beer mess we're here. You know,

(57:26):
Dodgers and Yankees. We just did the big family feud
with those cities and championships and pedigree and all that stuff,
and certainly a lot of anticipation for this weekend series.
Dan here in Los Angeles. Eight to five win on
Friday night for the Dodgers eighteen to two.

Speaker 1 (57:45):
Win on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (57:47):
Now, Friday was interesting is that you have Judge and
Otani Homer in the first You had a same game
parlay plus nine twenty six for that to cash, and
it was done by the end of the first inning.
So you got that going for youe hits two home
runs yesterday, the accounting for the only two runs.

Speaker 1 (58:04):
You got in the barrage.

Speaker 2 (58:07):
So we'll get the final game of that series a
little bit later on. And a lot of lamentation. Again,
we were talking about the change of broadcast rights and
the fractionalization of things when we come to broadcast partners.
I know a lot of people already tried to put
together their massive color coded grids for the NFL as
to how you see games. But this weekend odd for

(58:29):
this series because you had Friday being an Apple game,
Yesterday being a Fox game, and tonight'll be an ESPN game.
So you've got that the trinity of things there. But
you also had a chunk of Dodger Stadium that fell
into somebody's lap, so you know, we'd start talking about
legal ees and potential pot No, it was not a meteorite. No,

(58:50):
it's an old stadium. So I always encourage folks if
you're near one of these old baseball stadiums, like even
Wrigley Field back in Chicago, right, you see it on TV.

Speaker 1 (59:00):
It looks great.

Speaker 2 (59:01):
The day after the Cubs are eliminated, there are thousands
of bags of concrete delivered and back hose and you
name it, to try to reinforce infrastructure time and time
again between the concerts that come to town.

Speaker 1 (59:15):
Likewise Dodger Stadium.

Speaker 2 (59:17):
There's a lot that needs to be done in terms
of keeping that thing together. But you want to talk
about a potential payday, I mean, are you holding out
for it if you're not really hurt? I mean, at
least give me some tickets, or do you take that
to one of the card companies and try to sell
it to them so they can break it apart and
put it into trading cards.

Speaker 4 (59:36):
Before we get on, what a disastrous a weekend it
is for the Yankees, and what a disastrous decision for
the Dodgers to wear their City Connect uniforms in this series.
We'll move that aside and get to that in a second.
This is a stadium mic that has been transformed as
of late.

Speaker 3 (59:55):
Now.

Speaker 4 (59:55):
I ain't been to Dodger Stadium for years, and I
went to a game earlier this year when the new
center field was done, and it was a great area.
We saw pictures of the work that was done along
the baselines that they were still working on in January
and February before the season and digging everything out and
putting in new seats. So they're doing a lot of

(01:00:16):
work with this facility to keep it up to date
and to try to make it as fan friendly and
fan appealing and all the different options that you would
get in a modern ballpark.

Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
But it sure seems like the basic.

Speaker 4 (01:00:29):
Point of not having concrete fall on fans somehow slipped away,
But I do think that to your point of it
being an older facility, it makes sense.

Speaker 3 (01:00:39):
But considering all the changes.

Speaker 4 (01:00:40):
That they've done, I'm just not sure what the excuse
would be. And I know that the fan I think
they said that he was really sore, like it was
really sore. But then, okay, like I think a soreness
like after you run a half marathon, right, you're like,
all my legs are sore. I think it's just probably
the spot that he was hit and the rock was

(01:01:01):
about the size of a fist, maybe a little bit bigger,
but still nobody wants that falling. And then you think
about what about if it hite your head as opposed
to your back. To your point, I'm not settling for
a shoe. A Tani signed a baseball bat.

Speaker 2 (01:01:13):
Well that I don't even get to see him sign
for me sure, by the way, don't I don't know
that that going back to that whole batgate with that
that woman and dude all those months ago, I don't
know that the signature that I saw doesn't really reflect
a lot of the otanis I've seen.

Speaker 1 (01:01:30):
In the market. So I mean not saying he didn't
sign it, but.

Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
It's just it's like a quick, all right, yeah here
kind of thing that you get a lot of folks
looking at Jeremy Allen White, the Star of the Bear,
and then he he was one of the Von Erickson
that movie that came out last year. He's basically got
a jay and a giant squiggle as he signs for fans, Like,
what is that?

Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
I don't even is that a question mark?

Speaker 3 (01:01:57):
What is that much? Not much? In a monograph?

Speaker 4 (01:02:00):
J I saw his on a trading card that was
FGJ just printed out. So yeah, there's a lot to
be desired. But if you go to a baseball game,
you shouldn't expect to have concrete falling on you. And
I just I can't believe that no pun intended, but
that fell through the cracks.

Speaker 3 (01:02:15):
I mean a lot has a lot has been done
with that stadium.

Speaker 4 (01:02:19):
Now, as for the Yankees and Dodgers, again, while the
Dodgers couldn't just wear their normal uniforms, I don't know,
especially when you're facing the Yankees. But I don't know
how this can't mean demoralizing Mike if you're the Yankees
after losing last year in the World Series, and I
know not every player was on that World Series team.

Speaker 3 (01:02:35):
But to go in a series, maybe it's end of
road trip sort of thing.

Speaker 4 (01:02:39):
They were in Anaheim, they were in Colorado, you're on
the other side of the country.

Speaker 3 (01:02:42):
It's the back end of it.

Speaker 4 (01:02:44):
But to lose eighteen to two against the team that
just beat you in five games in the World Series
not too long ago. I don't think regular season series
mean anything, but this sure doesn't help the Yankees in
any big picture scenario in thinking that they could do
damage and if they don't believe that they could beat
the Dodgers in a seven game series and needing help

(01:03:06):
from other teams in the NL, if you can get there,
I do wonder on how much I'm curious to see
how they play between now in over the next couple
of weeks. They're just gonna put it behind them more.
Could this linger? Because I think it could linger. I
wouldn't blame them if it ended up lingering.

Speaker 2 (01:03:20):
Yeah, you saw a miserable start from Freed on Friday
that got out of sorts really fast. You've got Carlos Rodon,
who's been a nice find. Health has always been an
issue going back to his days with the White Sox.
One of my favorite guys to watch when he's right.
Eventually Garrett Cole comes back. But yeah, you're looking at

(01:03:42):
bullpen issues. And by the way, the road trip Dan,
you laid it out is the Angels and the Rockies.

Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
Okay, those are like pre limb warm ups towards the
business right to.

Speaker 2 (01:03:52):
Carry your business and get ready and loaded for bear
for a team that you came in against in the
Dodgers that you know, the sky is falling here like
they're in first place. And I say that as we
talk about a rock falling and concrete and falling. They've
not put netting in just so folks are aware. But
the idea here is every loss is and every injury

(01:04:13):
is the worst thing in the world. Like last year
they went through seventeen starting pitchers and all of those
different bullpen strings that Dave Roberts had to had to
pull up. By the way, happy belated birthday, Dave Roberts
celebrated a birthday yesterday and that eighteen to two laugher
that show Aotani took a nap during.

Speaker 1 (01:04:31):
But all of that to say, they've gone through so
many injuries already.

Speaker 2 (01:04:36):
No idea when Otani's gonna be able to pitch, looks
really great and throwing batting practice. But Tanner Scott has
been relegated to the eighth inning. All right, let's rebuild
your confidence after spending a bunch of money him in
the off season. And you got a bunch of pitchers
that you know, our giant question marks in terms of
their longevity. It's great to have Clayton Kershaw back. They

(01:04:56):
wasted a great start. How many more of those are
in his arm?

Speaker 7 (01:05:00):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
So you come in against a Dodgers team that has
had to really work through their pen, and then you
couldn't get the knockout blow on Friday after a great start,
and then you know, show on Saturday. I can't wait
to see what today is over under sitting at either
nine or nine and a half runs for this one.

Speaker 4 (01:05:21):
Well, now you're in a spot on the flip side
of that to see how the Dodgers respond. Is this
going to help and vault them? The Yankees at least
have a bit of a cushion. Not that you're thinking
division title on June first, but they've got a bit
of a cushion in the division, and you're curious if.

Speaker 3 (01:05:36):
They fall off.

Speaker 4 (01:05:38):
I don't know on how much the Padres and Giants
are going to fall off. Diamondback said to be having
some troubles as of late, so they've kind of fallen
off the pace. But yeah, if you're the Dodgers, you're
gonna need to be winning games because you know, the
Padres love that rivalry.

Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
On the flip side of how's it going to affect
the Yankees?

Speaker 4 (01:05:55):
Yeah, could these couple of wins now allow the Dodgers
to do some damage?

Speaker 2 (01:05:59):
You know, it's something crazy is we are getting in
today as being June first, flip those calendars and move forward.
And while we've been talking a little bit of fantasy,
we'll talk a little more AFC East in about ten
minutes to collect.

Speaker 4 (01:06:10):
We've got an anniversary to talk about too, coming up
at the end of the show.

Speaker 2 (01:06:14):
So we got anniversary. Yes, I've got AFC East conversations.
You know, the Dodgers haven't played the Padres yet.

Speaker 3 (01:06:22):
I did not realize that, interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:06:25):
Right, I mean, that's just insane that we're already to
June and well we haven't seen that yet.

Speaker 4 (01:06:29):
The new schedule is insane. Every team shouldn't be playing
every teams. It's silly, it's it's absurd. It messes with rainouts,
Like there are a lot of times where now you're
forced to compact your schedule because you're not going to
have a return trip to that city. I get inter
league plays a part of it, and you can't do
anything with those. But I understand wanting the stars, but

(01:06:52):
it's see him next year.

Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:06:55):
Like, Yeah, I don't think that. We talk a lot
about NFL scheduling. I am not a huge fan. I mean,
if I had my brothers that do away with interleague play,
I'd rather just have the n OL play the Nut
and the Al play of the.

Speaker 3 (01:07:07):
Ale, like the old way. But that's never gonna happen again.

Speaker 4 (01:07:10):
I just don't like on how much it's spread out
of everybody playing everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:07:13):
Yeah, I just would I'd go back the other way.
I thought the heavy schedule for division was the way
to go right again. The division is supposed to mean
something right and so long as it does. And this
was one of my bigger lamentations. We did this a
couple of weeks ago when the schedule was released and
some of the changes that were being potentially implemented. You

(01:07:35):
can go find the podcast of this and all our
shows wherever you get your audio downloaded, give it five stars,
will love you. But it's that it's like, if we're
going to keep divisions as a thing in terms of
playoffs and having that kind of rivalry build in having
a three game set between the Dodgers and I don't know,

(01:07:56):
pick your random al team this year's version of the
Baltimore Oriols.

Speaker 3 (01:08:02):
Nobody?

Speaker 1 (01:08:02):
Sure, right, And so we looked from there real quick.

Speaker 2 (01:08:06):
We've got plenty of time to digest, you know, because
game ones not till Thursday, long time off. Do you
give a puncher's chance to the Pacers? Prohibited favorites are
the thunder Nina seven fifty? I kind of do based
on the depth the defense. I just need to know
that night after night, I'm getting Halliburton locked in.

Speaker 3 (01:08:29):
Yeah, why bet against them? Now?

Speaker 4 (01:08:31):
You know you're actually maybe getting some really good value
with them. I think that of anything they've showed, especially
if there's a close game and into how they would
be able to operate, they've been magnificent. And that's all
that you kind of want to do, especially in these
first two games, is is keep it close. I do

(01:08:52):
think that they have a chance. Mike I find it
interesting on the narrative of the Thunder. Maybe it's legit
in terms of the turning of the narrative, but it
felt like beating Denver had a lot of people turning
into the Thunder's favor, and I just I've not been
a Nuggets believer. We know how great Jokich is, but

(01:09:13):
as a team overall, you know, I've never really believed
in the Nuggets, and I found it interesting that the
narrative of like, I'm gonna believe in the Thunder if
they knock off the.

Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
Nuggets, and that's what seemed to happen.

Speaker 4 (01:09:25):
And right now they've proven me wrong because they made
waste with the Minnesota Timberwolves, who I thought were gonna
win Game four. So maybe the Thunder are the real deal,
and that defense sure does seem like the real deal. However,
Indiana has proved in these other matchups that they can hang,
and so I think Indiana will compete.

Speaker 3 (01:09:42):
I don't think the Pacers will get swept.

Speaker 4 (01:09:43):
I think they'll win a game, and I think they
will win actually two games, but ultimately I think Oklahoma
City ends up winning the series.

Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
I want a lot out of Andrew Nemhard, so I
can watch Smith die a little because for a year
it's been he hit that three point wondering with his
eyes closed.

Speaker 4 (01:09:59):
This is what I thought was so funny with Nemahard
last night was there was that series where he locked
up Jalen Brunson yep, and they were going nuts in
the fieldhouse, like everybody was like losing their minds, and
you're like, imagine doing this in the other forty seven
minutes and thirty seconds of a game. Pacers, like when
you play defense, you can actually have this sort of excitement.

(01:10:21):
Now the Thunder are a little bit bit more well rounded,
They've got other weapons instead of Jalen Brunson just always
holding out of the ball. Maybe you can't do that,
but see this is what happens when you actually have
a defensive effort.

Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
Look, everybody loved it.

Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
Look at that defensive effort. That is like the mantra
of this playoffs. Now that we have the Pacers in
Thunder and I think beating Jokic, you know that was
the you know, turning of the page, the Malone and
boot thing as Era was done. But also new MVP
crowned old MV shut out back to his horses and

(01:10:54):
all that fun.

Speaker 4 (01:10:54):
Stuff understood fair enough, It just was funny on how
I felt it switch. Maybe that was just me, but
I felt that the narrative switched.

Speaker 1 (01:11:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:11:03):
I'd picked the Timberwolves to win the West, to be
a contrarian, so they failed me. I'll air They'll be
in the airing of grievances come Thanksgiving time for Festivus.
He is Dan Barr. I guess Christmas time, Dan Byer
at Dan Byron Fox. Find me over at Swallowdome. Time
to turn our attention back to the man, the myth,
the legend himself over at the news desk gets our guy,

(01:11:23):
Isaac lower Groun.

Speaker 6 (01:11:24):
And A pretty good day in Paris so far for
some American tennis players because of the French Open. Tommy
Paul what his fourth round match today to become the
first American man to reach the French Open quarterfinals since
Andre Agassi in two thousand and three. Right now, fellow
American Ben Shelton, not to be confused with Blake. Shelton

(01:11:44):
dropped the first two sets of his fourth round match
to two seed Carlos al Karaz seven to six and
a tie break, and six to three, but Shelton won
the third set six to four. Right now, al Karaz
has a two games to one lead in the fourth set,
and other American Francis Tiafo, took the opening set over
Germany's Daniel Altmeyer six to three, and Tiafo leads in

(01:12:07):
the second set right now four games to three. Goff
Scottie Scheffler, at eight under par overall, has a one
shot lead in the final round of the Memorial. He
will tee off at two to five Eastern Times some
twenty five minutes from now. And in Major League Baseball,
the Saint Louis Cardinals have a one nothing lead at
Texas in the bottom half of the second inning. Among

(01:12:29):
the games just underway, the Atlanta Braves hosting the Boston
Red Sox, and the Philadelphia Phillies welcoming the Milwaukee Brewers.

Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
Guys, back to you, thanks so much, Ailo. We'll throw
it back to you in a few minutes. See if
you can do a couple of bars of old red
for us. Yesterday the Big Champions League, Chris and I
were having the conversation Dan with Paris Saint Germain. With
the five to zero win, all the money that they'd
spent and the year after Imbape would have loved nothing
more than to bring French glory. He's not there and

(01:13:00):
they go and they win five nil. Your final.

Speaker 4 (01:13:03):
Yeah, yeah, in Milan did not have a PSG or
Champions League champion.

Speaker 3 (01:13:09):
I missed it yesterday, Mike.

Speaker 4 (01:13:10):
I was at a graduation party, so I didn't get
to see the match, but I saw the domination on
the score scoreboard and yeah PS two.

Speaker 2 (01:13:18):
W we turned on one Tree Hill after it was
too nil and then check back in to see the final.

Speaker 1 (01:13:24):
Of it all.

Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
Add Damn Biro on Fox where you find and find

Speaker 1 (01:13:34):

to friends and family. Evangelize as we grow towards even
further global domination of the space, because you know, I
love like the leaderboard there at the US Women's Open
dan that we get a lot of flags that show
us that they're listening and being part of things like
the leaderboard there. But you also have another star in

(01:14:27):
the clubhouses. I guess you're going to get to dine
in style.

Speaker 4 (01:14:32):
So the USGA does things right when it comes to
media dining. Lunch today is root beer braised short rib Paul. Yes,
not only that, Mike, the potatoes that have been soaking
in the ajou that you have that accompanies it amazing.
So hopefully I'm not going to down this all immediately,

(01:14:55):
but during the commercial break, I had to go get
some because I just think it's going to be gone
like that. I don't mean to be to be, you
know that guy, because it's a media center thing. A
lot of goodies out on the course here, but they're
treating us right in the media center.

Speaker 2 (01:15:09):
As my father has always said, never be ashamed to
pile it on.

Speaker 1 (01:15:16):
It's compliments to the chef, right did right?

Speaker 2 (01:15:18):
I mean, you'll show them up now. I'm finding recipes,
so guess what I'm going to try to make an
iteration up later on this week and the slow cooker.
I'll make sure to freeze some portions to make sure
everybody gets fed. Because we've got to look out for
the team, no question about it. At Dan Byron Fox,
we find and find me over at Swollen Dome. The
podcast is I Want Your Flex, Fantasy and NFL talk

(01:15:42):
All year. We cycle in from what we do on
these shows, Dan and certainly once we get back into
football mode several times a week we reconvene and talk
about it. But first, let's do the anniversary. You teased
an anniversary for today.

Speaker 4 (01:15:58):
Twenty years ago today, I left this state of Wisconsin
to move out to California to continue to pursue my
broadcasting dreams.

Speaker 3 (01:16:08):
I did.

Speaker 4 (01:16:08):
I left at noon on January excuse me on June first,
two thousand and five, and made my way.

Speaker 3 (01:16:16):
Took me a couple of days. In between.

Speaker 4 (01:16:18):
I stopped at the Field of Dreams in Iowa, saw
the Rockies and Reds play after a tornado hit Denver.
Saw snow and sun and desert all in the same day.
But it was twenty years ago today. I moved from
Wisconsin to California.

Speaker 1 (01:16:33):
So did the long drive.

Speaker 3 (01:16:35):
Yep, the longest stretch.

Speaker 4 (01:16:38):
I was just west of Denver and then drove that
all the way down to Rancho Cucamonga. So that took
pretty much the whole entire day, that chunk of the drive.
But that was a big part of it. As I said,
I stopped that field of dreams, had to see that
in Iowa and went to a Rockies game and whatnot.
But yeah, so it's kind of come full happy to

(01:17:00):
be here at Aaron Hills. My niece graduated high school yesterday.
That's what I've been town for celebrating. But yep, twenty
years ago today, I left home to pursue my dreams.

Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
I have like a million songs that we should just
add to a playlist the.

Speaker 1 (01:17:15):
Celebration of Dan Bayer in his twenty years.

Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
It's a long long road, literally and figuratively to get
to this point, because I know I was back home
in Chicago a couple of weeks ago, and it just
punches you in the face.

Speaker 1 (01:17:26):
Doesn't it. Yes, Absolutely, soon as you get off that plane,
it's like, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:17:30):
I'm home, yep, yep, here it is.

Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
I've got a couple of friends that feel it's like
a disturbance in the force when I come home and
I'll get a text minutes after I had land he's like,
this is creepy.

Speaker 4 (01:17:43):
You know, it's funny, and like you've moved around, You've
lived in a bunch of different spots throughout the country.
I've only lived outside of Wisconsin, lived in California. But
you know Chris Purfet, our technical producers from Toledo, and
I'm sure he feels the same way. And there is
this point where you kind of can't wait to leave

(01:18:03):
when you're at that point, but then, as you say,
when you get off the plane or you get back
into the area, it all hits you in the face.
And I think anybody that's relocated, I think can understand,
especially as your life changes. I'm married now, I have
a a four year old boy, so your perspective changes
as well.

Speaker 3 (01:18:21):
But a lot of times people are like, oh.

Speaker 4 (01:18:22):
I can't wait to leave, you know, see you later,
hometown blah blah blah, see you later. Home state and
then over time you gain perspective and you appreciate it.
And I think I don't think that story is is
that foreign to many. I think people can that have
moved away can feel the same way.

Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
Yeah, you either come back and you have the appreciation
and then it becomes the All right, I visited.

Speaker 1 (01:18:41):
This was fun.

Speaker 2 (01:18:41):
I'm going home, Yes, especially if you go back, say,
I don't know for a holiday season in the Midwest.

Speaker 1 (01:18:48):
Sure, I love you, It's good to see you. Why
am I not at the beach.

Speaker 4 (01:18:51):
Yeah, I can play golf tomorrow in California. Why am
I shoveling those things Florida? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:18:58):
Other places as well.

Speaker 2 (01:18:59):
Other places where you can do those kind of things.
All right, So we did a good chunk of the
AFC East. We'll circle back to it as we continue
our division by division previews.

Speaker 1 (01:19:09):
Dan enjoy the time there.

Speaker 2 (01:19:11):
The rest of the time with the family, and you're
wandering of Aaron Hills and of course the root beer
braised short ribs.

Speaker 4 (01:19:18):
It should be some great golf. So I think the
golf will match up to the dining here. It should
be a fun afternoon. And again, this course looks great
on TV, so check it out.

Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
Pretty big leaderboard at Dan Byron Fox. Check him out
for all his work and back with Doug and Covino
and Rich. This week find me with Smith starting seven
o'clock again tomorrow night. Now it's time for Hartman and Husky.
Thanks everybody for listening to have a beautiful Sunday
