Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (00:04):
Everybody Happy Sunday? Thank you for tuning in hanging out
with Carrie and I on this Sunday.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
I just told Carrie we're gonna have some fun. I'm
wearing tied I today.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
You are.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Oh. I put this on and I was gonna change
and then I was like, nope, I'm keeping on my
little Mermaid ted I shirt for Carrie.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Because that's how good I'm feeling today.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Carrie, how are you feeling it?

Speaker 1 (00:25):
It looks good. I feel great.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
I think it's always a tag team of greatness on
Sunday when we come on, So I'm excited to keep
going today.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
That's exactly it.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
And we have such a fun show planned for you,
a little bit of everything. We'll be talking to our
NFL insider Adam Kaplan, who was probably so excited now
that training camps have officially started.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
I'm excited. I want to know where he goes.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
I mean too, like, I can't wait to talk to him.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
That'll be in the second hour of our of course,
we have a little easy as one, two, three, four
testing the crew here carry on or off all of it?
Car No, well, you're getting out of years getting ahead
of yourself. You can follow Carrie on Twitter x at
Carrie twenty five Roads or on Instagram at just carry Rhoads.
You can follow me across social media at montcy Belanos.

(01:10):
Let's get going, Carrie. I know you were in this week.
I filled in, but again we are reunited every week,
so let's get into it. Lebron James once again in
the news. No, he's not gonna go to the Dallas Mavericks.
That would be a stupid thing. We're not even gonna
talk about that because it's so stupid. There's no way
you can do that.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
We're not gonna know that.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
We're not gonna do that. But he's been in the
news this week because Jeff Tigue had something to say,
and I think we have sound of that. Do we
have sound of Jeff Tigue? Let me know, yeah, give
me a thumbs up if we got that, fellas. I
didn't prep you for that, but I think we have
sound of Jeff Tigue basically saying what we all already
maybe assume have heard over the years. Lebron has been

(01:54):
around for so long, and Jeff Tigue was again on
a podcast and said some things he was.

Speaker 5 (02:02):
On steroids, Bro, he had to sit out. He was
on steroids for real, like legit, it was on steroids. Bro,
I'm allegedly, but like he had to sit out. But
you'll remember when they.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Told him, like the Plus Sports.

Speaker 5 (02:15):
Yea though now they was like he got everybody they
started chasing testing for g H and they was like, yo,
he had to sit out, like he said, his back
with her, and he set out for like three weeks
and he came back, Skinny. I was in the league,
I remember, and he came back and he was he
was crazy though.

Speaker 6 (02:32):
It might have been the best bron bro.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Okay, he was on the Club five twenty podcast and
said these things pretty quickly after that, carry he put
on Instagram on his story like the very next day,
y'all weird.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I was just joking about Bron.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
He was just that dominant chill no, no, no, you chill
like so funny to me that immediately has to go.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
You know.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
That escalade from Clutch sports showed up real quick after
he made those comments.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
And do you remember when he took that absence?

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Not really you don't remember.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Yes, where he left and everybody's like, where is he going?

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Why is he going back to Miami because he was
with Cleveland and it was just like a weird.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
But I remember that three. I do remember it. I
remember thinking, I wonder what's going on with him?

Speaker 3 (03:24):
And obviously Lebron looks amazing, like the specimen that he is.
You know, you look incredible. Yes, you lost your hair
and it came out somewhere else. Okay, you were your
jawnline maybe moved a little bit. Yes, you're older, and
yet you still look like this. Yes, and here's the
here's my thing on it, Carrie. We're never gonna find out.

(03:47):
We are never gonna know the truth. And it's not
even Lebron doesn't want us to know the truth. And
his people and they've controlled the story pretty well. It's
that the league doesn't want this to get out. Talk
about the NFL shield and how much they protect the product.
The NBA is going to pull out their shield and

(04:07):
protect this story because it would ruin the sport. Lebron
James right now with all the records, with this twenty
three year career, can you imagine if this came out.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
It's out, but it's not confirmed. It's never going to
be what you just said.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Yes, and it's you know, the problem about all of
this is it is the NBA does a good job
of protecting their players, in my opinion, when when it's
their star players, they will take it to their graves.
The information. Yeah, I mean, it goes all the way
back to and I'm bringing him up because he's always
in the goat debate with Michael Jordan Roight. Oh yeah,

(04:45):
we don't know why he really left to go play baseball, right,
There's so many different conspiracies around it. But there are
people that example, there are people that say it's because
he had to take sabbatical because of the gambling. So them,
that's going on, right, So that's just layers of the story,
and I think that's what also. I mean, think about
greatness in any sport, great players that transcend the game.
A lot of times, when they get the moniker of

(05:08):
being that person for the sport, that sport's going to
take care of.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Them no matter what the case is. And so when
we talk about.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
Lebron, there's, like you said, there will never be any
evidence that this is a real thing, and they will
never let it out. But we can look at this
guy and obviously when he came in he was always
I mean, it's always been a physical specimen always, but
you can also see that the longevity that happens with
this one player, in particular, Lebron James, has never happened before.

(05:36):
And so when you look at it that way, I mean, yes,
he's special, but how special are you really? And that
will always be the question.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
And if it comes out that that happened, it would
ruin him and it would ruin what he accomplished, and
so it'll be a big deal.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
It would be a huge deal, And it wouldn't be
like it is in baseball. No, because I've said many
times like I'm not bothered by the MLB players who
have juiced up in the past.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
No, it really doesn't bother me.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
It doesn't to me either. It's such a skill set
to hit the baseball.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
The juice in bar would not help, but helps with
the power and makes it, you know, get the ball far.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
But but you got to hit the ball.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
You still have to have the talent to hit that
one hundred and one mile power ball that Paul's Skins.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Is throwing at you. Yes, and which is.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Why you know what happened in twenty seventeen with the
Dodgers and the Astros of like you knowing the pitch
ahead of time, that to me is way worse than
you juicing.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
And so I have no problem.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
In fact, if baseball was like, hey, if you all
want a juice, I think the players would because again
it is for power and strength, and since there is
no physicality one on one in baseball, like, yeah, I
may run into you trying to steal a base.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
But we're not going at it.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
You win me. It's typically like individual performance, right, And
so if this came out in the NBA, I would
look at it differently because you do have to post
up against someone. Your physicality is needed, and not necessarily
in the still of shooting the ball, that's not what
I'm talking about, but posting up, getting a rebound, getting
around someone.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Strength matters, and the recovery and even more than those things,
like they are important exactly what you said, but the
recovery process, right, And I think with the baseball it
helps with the recovery as well. But again it's a
more physical game in the NBA, and also this contact
and speed and just more just more like kinetic energy
going out. So the recovery part of HGH steroids and

(07:25):
stuff like that. That would be the main thing, even
more than the strength. It would be the conditioning and
the maintenance of what it takes to be excellent for
eighty two games, you know, and going to the postseason
and all that stuff as well.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
You said speed about running up and down your right
because it's like you hit a home run because you're
juiced up.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
You don't have to run fastest, jogging, chogging.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
Around, calling it a day, waving, you know, if you're
at home, very you know, your kids got another one,
very different than in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Which is why I don't want to hear the truth.
I don't want this to come.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Out like that because it really will the narrative of
Lebron James, the narrative of the NBA in.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
General, like all of his records, you know what I mean.
It's like what is real?

Speaker 4 (08:09):
And let me tell you one more thing about that, right,
Like we've talked about it before, people are getting way
too comfortable on these podcasts speaking things before they really
want to say them. Jeff Tigue is a great storytelling
He's on the podcast. He actually is really good at it.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
It's a good listen, But they're getting a little bit
loose lipped.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
And I think a lot of these things. We all,
I mean, like I said, we all have this theory
that he's probably had it, or at least had the thought.
But you can't say everything. There are still legal remifications
to certain things, right, and so going out and like
right now, quote unquote falsely accusing somebody of something is
still a big no no.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Yet you're saying this and then thinking like no, no, no,
I'll just put it on Instagram.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
But it's not real.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
And there may be people out there, Carrie, I like
that you hit on this who want this to come
out because they want to tear Lebron James down. It
could be MJ fans, it could be Kobe fans. It
could just be Lebron haters. That is their own species,
Lebron haters, right, and so you could just want to
ruin him.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
But again, the league is not going to let you
do this.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
If you think you're gonna get money from a different
person on the other side trying to take Lebron down,
oh my gosh, you are gonna get taken down by
everybody else. This doesn't help the league and it doesn't
help the sport. If this were to come out.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
I agree, and so Jeff T.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
And we're gonna see more of this, not a lot.
But he's not gonna be the last person, you know
what I mean, Jeff T will not be the last
person to have loose lips on this topic.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Yeah, but it won't happen until he's done. It won't happen.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
And I think that's the issue that will be the thing,
Like right now he's still playing, They're not gonna let
that happen right now. Now, when he's done, it might
be a little bit more fair game because you know,
like people start telling stories and even once you get older,
the story actually gets bigger and exaggerates.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Anyway, have you noticed that?

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Yes, you're right, You're right about so, so we'll see.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
I bet you to get bigger. Once he's done.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
It might get bigger, but it's it can't.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
I'm not saying it's going to be validated, but I'm
saying it's going to get bigger.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
They're still going to control it even after he retires.
I think the shield of the NBA will still be out.
Even when Lebron retires, he would have to be like
so far removed from the sport in order for maybe
the shield of the NBA to not come out and
protect it.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
No, the shield, they will protect it.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
But I'm talking about the other lips, the other lips.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
Not the NBA. I'm talking about the other voices.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
So maybe players and people that don't like them, more,
people that had TIFFs with them, Like it will become
more of a thing. Doesn't mean it's going to blow
up and be this big scandal, But I'm saying you'll
hear about it more from actual people that are around
the situations.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
I feel like the league is not going to let
that hap.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
I hear you.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
I hear you. But they you would think that with
Michael Jordan. But how many times have we heard it now?

Speaker 3 (10:58):
How many times have we heard it now? And now
it's like people want to bring it up right now
in their argument.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
Of the goat, like now, now that's where we're splitting
hairs here.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Let me tell let me tell you why he's the
goat because he didn't take any time off.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
Exactly what are we doing?

Speaker 3 (11:12):
What are we doing?

Speaker 2 (11:13):
He wasn't sorry, Chris Purfed on the ones in twos.

Speaker 7 (11:17):
Yeah, we actually have some sound from a League official.
They weighed in on this whole situation. Let's take a
listen there it is.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Do you want to know the terrifying truth or do
you want to see me suck a few dingers? What
you don't remember that your Simpsons?

Speaker 7 (11:32):
No, it's like they're never gonna let out the terrible truth,
right right right, right right?

Speaker 1 (11:37):
That is juson, No, don't don't don't break that. That
was that was like Mark Maguire in the s.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
No, it's coming back to me. I just needed to
see the visual. It's been a while, but yes, now
it's coming back to me.

Speaker 7 (11:47):
Yeah, this is the thing. You don't want to break.
You don't don't break the illusion. Let's let us all
have our fun here. And besides, like, come on, you
can't tell me like this is this is the thing
with like Tom Brady and everyone else in multiple leagues.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
We all know these guys.

Speaker 7 (11:59):
Are you using these substances because it's the competitive to
get back onto the field. And I think since Baseball
ripped that band aid off and seeing what happened to baseball,
everyone's kind of lived with it and it's just yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Also the other side of it, I will say the reason,
another reason why I think they'll protect it even more so.
If Lebron would have won more NBA finals, maybe more
people would be inclined to even tear him down. But
it's like you, let's say you've been juicying's using this hgh, right,

(12:32):
you still it wasn't like you won twelve NBA finals.
You still lost a lot like that. That helps with it,
you know what I'm saying. If he really would have dominated,
where it's like you have won and you have surpassed
Michael and you've won ten, then it would be more
of a story that people would want to uncover. But
the fact that he has been around for so long

(12:53):
and has five championships.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Four four, he only has four?

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Yeah, what are we going?

Speaker 2 (12:58):
What are we talking about the conversation?

Speaker 1 (13:01):
He's got four, he's got four.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
And that's why it's everyone's like, e's you dominated, and
yet you still didn't dominate.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
You know, like in a way it's like you're dominated,
but yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
You lost enough for us to be okay with it.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
I know that sounds crazy, but isn't that think about it.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
I agree with you. I know what you're saying.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
Yes, yeah, if he won all eight or how many
times he went in the road, then that would be.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Row or something like that. Yeah, like it would. It
would make the story a little different.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
But that's why I think people are not up in
arms to get to the bottom of it either.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Just wait, just wait until he's done. Moncy, Well, I
love so.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Is that in two years we're gonna have this conversation
in twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Yeah, we'll see and see how many other people will revisit.
We'll revisit this.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Okay, speaking of revisiting, there is a legend out there
who should be revisiting and he's not Carrie, and I'm
upset about it.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
What am I talking about? We'll tell you.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
On the other side, don't go anywhere he's carried. I'm
Moncey and this is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Listen Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 8 (14:01):
Hey, we're Covino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Seven pm Eastern.

Speaker 8 (14:06):
But here's the thing, we never have enough time to
get to everything we want to get to.

Speaker 9 (14:10):
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Yeah, you blubber listen Leam and me.

Speaker 8 (14:24):
Well you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years.

Speaker 9 (14:28):
Well, it's a Covino and Rich after show, and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk
life and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing
about something or we didn't have enough time, it will
continue on our after show called over Promised.

Speaker 8 (14:42):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also Uncensored by
the way, so maybe we'll go at it even a
little harder. It's gonna be the best after show podcast
of all time.

Speaker 9 (14:53):
There you go, over Promising. Remember you could see on YouTube,
but definitely join us. Listen Over Promised with Covino Rich
on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get
your podcasts.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
What's up Everybody Happy Sunday? Thank you for tuning into
Fox Sports Radio. He's the all pro safety carry Rhoads.
I'm the all pro host with him.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
There it is, There you go, There it is no former.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Both all pros hanging.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Out all pro both all pros.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
Carrie speaking of all pros, I mean, he's not an
All Pro because he didn't play NFL, but he would
have been if that's how you called it in baseball.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
My guy one of my first crushes ever.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Oh really, he had a lot of crushes.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
I know he did. I had no chance. I was
like in seventh grade, I had no chance. But man,
looking at Derek Jeter in those pinstripes, I was like,
that's the dude. This is why I'm gonna this is
why I'm gonna watch baseball.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
I mean, Jessica Bill Alyssa Milano, they all thought the same.

Speaker 3 (15:50):
Hey, some people think.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
I look like a Lisa Milano, So babies, I did
have a chance, just not the right age. Not the
right age.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
Derek Jeter is doing something for the first time that's
really disappointing me. Here he's never disappointed me.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
This is his first time.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
This is the first time he's disappointed me. Used to it,
don't tell me, do not tell me that. But he
will not be at the Old Timers game for the Yankees.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
They used to do this more often.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
They haven't done it in a couple of years, and
they're gonna do it. It's on August ninth, and they're
going to celebrate. It's gonna be the twenty fifth anniversary
of the two thousand World Series. Team Yep, everybody's gonna
be there, Okay, CC Sabbathia, I actually Si Sabathia might
not be going, but like Mariana Rivera Pasa, they're all going.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
And Derek Jeter has said, I will not be attending this.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
I will be attending my daughter's eighth birthday.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Mmm. So you didn't Oh you didn't give me that caveat.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Well exactly, let me give you like we want this
live reaction live. I am, I get it.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Listen, let me let me get it out. Let me
get it out.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
We are doing it live.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Okay. I understand family is very important, and I understand
that like he's done, he hasn't played in a long
time whatever. But you are the captain, you are the Yankee,
you are the representation of the Pinstripes. It's not like
they ask you to come every year for this old

(17:32):
timers game. It hasn't happened. This is the twenty fifth
anniversary of the two thousand World Series team. Your daughter
can celebrate her eighth birthday on another day with you
there or with you there. I don't like this, and
I don't know if I'm wrong, if like Derek Jeter,
doesn't owe it to the Yankees to do this, and

(17:53):
this doesn't go for every player, you know what I mean. Like,
there's specific ones where I think it is I your
responsibility to deliver to the fans and to the team
that did this for you, Like if the MAVs had
a special celebration, I expect Jerk Nooviski.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
To be there.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
I don't care where you're at.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
You're in Germany, if you're with Luca in Slovenia, get
your ass back to Dallas.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
You've got to be there.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
That's a long fight.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
I don't care. Get your ass on fight, get there.
I don't care. And there's only certain players that I
think have this responsibility. He's one of them, and I'm
super disappointed in the story.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
This is a hard one.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
Now, Oh, I love it.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
So before he said you through the dynamic of the
kid his daughter's birthday, I was like, he should be there,
and it's not because he owes anything to the team.
The organization any of that. I think the fans are
so beloved of him and that team and that era.
He should be there for that reason alone, because when
you're done, you're done. And I don't think you if

(18:56):
you don't want to be a part of the team
moving forward then and that's all fine. That's a decision
that you make and you have to live with because
I've seen it happen, right, But.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
For him it's so hard. I mean I was there.
I was.

Speaker 4 (19:09):
I was in New York when he was there, and
it was almost like his status reached like mythical.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Proportions, like a unicorn.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
It was a unicorn, like you very rarely even saw him.
There was times when me and him were in the
same photoshoot for certain things, and you know, because we were,
you know, doing captain stuff in New York, and I
would look at him like, man, they're Jeters.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Here, and when you're the captain too, Yeah, I'm the captain.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
That's the pinstrike. Like I was. I felt that way.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
So I know the fans feel so much adoration and
so much love, So for him to not be a
part of that, it will suck. It will I would
want him to show up and do that and be
a part of that. But again that the caveat though,
is the daughter, and I think family is more important.
I wish there were some way they can work it out.
I'm and that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
I know, they could work it out if you want, course,
they could so.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
In my opinion from what i'm he he and in
what I'm gathering from the story is he just doesn't
want to be a part of it.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
That kind of sucks.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
And I feel like maybe I'm crazy. But if I'm
the daughter and when she's an adult and then she
finds out that like her dad didn't do this because
you want to celebrate my eighth birthday, Like if that
would have been my dad daddy, are you crazy?

Speaker 1 (20:17):
Right?

Speaker 2 (20:17):
I don't even remember that day.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
And that's the part that's why we could have done it.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
We could have done it next Tuesday. I would not
have remembered it at all.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
And so I don't like this. I wonder how Shae
am I wrong in being this upset about this.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Our producer, Shae, I.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Mean, I don't know.

Speaker 10 (20:35):
I expected Cary to be a little different too, to
where he would say, yeah, I mean, I don't really care.
It's like, I gave my entire life to this organization.
Now that I've retired, I want to be able to
celebrate this this once in a lifetime. I mean, you
only turned eight once, you know, and you only get
those young birthdays every so often, and I mean obviously

(20:55):
once you I mean, I'm telling you right now, every
birthday after twenty one feels the same.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Me. It's felt the same. So it's like these young
birthdays one year ago. Okay, all right, I got chill,
all right, but no, what I think is is like
when you're when you're that.

Speaker 10 (21:12):
Young, you want to see it and you want to
be around it as much as you can, especially with him,
where I'm sure he hasn't been around it.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
I'm sure he's missed birthdays before.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
He's been retired for eight years. I get that, but
this is the oldest daughter.

Speaker 10 (21:23):
But when he retired, he was still going on his
entire media run and doing his whole I'm retired, I
need to make money, I need to establish this this.

Speaker 1 (21:30):
Then it's also running the Marlins at some point exactly. Yeah.

Speaker 10 (21:34):
So it's like I feel like he's at a point
where he's finally like, how old is he too?

Speaker 11 (21:38):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
I would think he's late forties. Maybe is he fifty
on the dots? He might be fifty on the dot.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
He might be fifty fifty. Let's see fifty one.

Speaker 10 (21:47):
So he's fifty one. Yeah, I want to spend time
with my eight year old kid.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
No, I don't get I don't. I don't they do
this once a year.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
No, but they haven't done it. They used to do
this all the.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Time because they used to all times to be yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Right, and then they haven't done it in about five
years because players don't really want to go show that
they sucked maybe now you know what I mean, Like
nobody wants to go out there and play, so it
hasn't happened in about five years. They re redid it
with like a Q and a one time and like
kind of try to do it at that, But yes,
they haven't done this. This is also the anniversary of
the two thousand World Series teams, the anniversar and like

(22:23):
what you're saying, like that, I'm not telling you to
cancel the daughter's birthday altogether. Of course we can still
celebrate that.

Speaker 10 (22:29):
Maybe we could do like a we go there and
then we celebrate the daughter's birthday at night, like I
would figure that out.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
You know, that's not the one. But I'm also not
mad at him because maybe.

Speaker 10 (22:39):
Well I want to see what they're doing now, and
I want to see what the daughters what like not day,
but the daughters birthday is maybe like what if they're
doing something crazy? Yeah, what if it's something like skydiving
and like berin.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
Maybe it's an all old timers game at their house.
So he doesn't want to do both exactly. So it's
like it just I'm not mad at the guy.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Yeah, I'm not mad at the guy.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
I'm mad at the guy. You know what, let's I'm
gonna go. I'm gonna go to.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
The news desk.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
Brianna Mureau on the Update deskree am I wrong?

Speaker 2 (23:14):
I can I hate? I can see both sides? Is
that weird?

Speaker 12 (23:17):
Like the heart, like the emotional side of me, I'm like,
it's his eight it's his daughter's birthday. He can't miss it.
And then the fan side of me is like, why
wouldn't you go to that? Like you are the Yankee,
you are the guy. You are the guy. You're there
at the pin strip.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
You are so many guys on the y No no, no, no,
no no.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
When you if you was, they legit didn't have another
captain again for years until Aaron Judge. No, he is
the dude.

Speaker 12 (23:44):
When you think of the Yankees, I think of Derek
Jeter more than I think of anybody else. So maybe
that's just my age, Maybe that's I don't know, like
I'm not gonna think of Vickey Mantle like sorry, Like
I mean, if I watched that movie.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
Like sixty two, then that's something different. You know, we're
not yeah, but we're not.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
Yes.

Speaker 12 (23:58):
So, speaking of the Yankee they did defeat the Phillies
four to three.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Yeah, I'm sorry about that.

Speaker 12 (24:06):
They're still behind of the Blue Jays, but they actually
lost to the Tigers today ten to four. They snapped
a six game losing streak. The Red Sox defeated the
Dodgers four to three, the Brewers edged the Marlins three
to two, and the Pirates shout out the Diamondbacks six
to zero. Paul Skeens has completed twenty two straight first
innings without allowing a run this season.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
Of course he has, of course he has.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Is that incredible? He is incredible. Hey Livy, hey, Livy,
hey girl, Hey.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
Actually I do want like a pair of those sweats
that she wears. Is where are you speaking of her?

Speaker 12 (24:40):
Like she is like the spokesperson for these sweats and
Rory right or is I pronounce it?

Speaker 2 (24:45):
I do want a pair?

Speaker 3 (24:46):
I actually get the right. Yeah, I'm into it, Yeah
a little bit.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
Maybe that'll make me like Skinny, I'm not sure.

Speaker 12 (24:51):
Okay, going into the NFL really quick. The Chargers and
left tackle Rashawn Slater have agreed on a four year,
one hundred and fourteen million dollar deal, ninety two million
dollars of that is guaranteed. He is now the highest
paid offensive lineman in NFL history. And the Cowboys signed
Titan Jake Ferguson to a four year, fifty two million
dollar extension. And late in yesterday's practice, Brown's quarterback can

(25:12):
You Pickett, injured his hamstring and so.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
He'll be re evaluated later this week.

Speaker 12 (25:17):
So that should make Brown's quarterback camp a little bit
more interesting because it's been so boring, you know, So
I'm glad something happened, so thank gosh, we have something
to pay attention to.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
So anyways, it back to you guys.

Speaker 3 (25:27):

Speaker 2 (25:50):
So Carrie, Steph Curry had something.

Speaker 3 (25:52):
To say this week that I think, just on the
surface of it, like if you just read the headline right,
it leave a bad taste in your mouth. And the
headlines that you would just look up quickly would be
like Steph Curry thinks NBA players are underpaid, right, that
would be the headlight.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
And it's yeah, it does not ring well because Steph
Currey is making very good money.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
A little bit, but he actually dives into Shane you
want to explain it a little bit further. And then
we've got sound, and Shade tell us.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
We got some sound.

Speaker 10 (26:24):
I'm gonna we're gonna play the sound first and then
I'll explain a little bit of what.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
He's kind of saying. So, yeah, but let's let's let's
play the sound.

Speaker 11 (26:31):
Steph Curry, the idea that we can't participate in equity
while we're playing. Is a part of why I would say, yes,
we are underpaid, because you want to be able to
participate in that and that rise. I know we're blessed to,
you know, be in a position where we're playing basketball
for a living and these are the type of checks
that people are in it. And I think it's all
deserved becaus it's a special commodity. It's a special industry

(26:55):
that probably won't go anywhere because that entertainment value is there.
But yeah, I feel like, hopefully sooner than later, those
rules change a little bit so that players can participate
more in the upside of team equity, the league evaluations
and all that type stuff, just because we I think we.

Speaker 10 (27:14):
Deserve So that's Steph Curry in an interview with Complex Sports.
So you might be thinking, hey, this is a rich
guy just wanting more money. Especially with the WNBA asking
for more money. Everyone's thinking, all these people just want
more money. Why do they deserve it? Why do they
want it? Let me dive into this a little bit
more and give you guys a little bit of color

(27:35):
of why he might be saying this. So currently under
the CBA, they are not. It prevents players from participating
in the league's individuals team equity growth. And let me
give you guys a little bit of color of what
the Warriors equity growth were. So during his draft year,
they were worth three hundred and fifteen million dollars. Today
they're worth nine billion dollars. So if let's just say

(27:59):
we I think we have Steph Curry a credit a
little bit of that too.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
Absolutely.

Speaker 10 (28:04):
I think Steph Curry's pockets they look good, but they
don't look like nine billion dollars. So I think he
saw those numbers and he's like, where's my money? Why
don't I get on any of this? Hopefully this is
going to change soon carry you as an athlete. I
know you have a lot to say on this. Obviously,
with nil and everything coming out, there's a lot of

(28:24):
new color coming in.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
We don't know what's going to happen.

Speaker 10 (28:27):
Manci, I know you got a lot to say on this,
but yeah, I'm gonna let you guys take it.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
That's that's that.

Speaker 10 (28:32):
Obviously, there's not much else to say other than step Curig,
does he deserve his bag or what?

Speaker 1 (28:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (28:36):
That was perfect you explain that well.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
So first Okay, So the.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
Thing with this is, yes, in the perfect world this
would exist. Players will be able to, you know, invest
in the company and actually be able to enjoy some
of the fruits of their labor even outside of their
physical activity, which is awesome. But the question I will
say with that is what's limit and who gets to

(29:01):
be a part of that. So if you are allowing
Steph Curry or Lebron or the faces of the franchise
to double dip so to speak, there's already favoritism. There's
already a level of the calls and they enjoy a
lot of fruits of their labor as that player, right,

(29:23):
as that star player. So what if the player who
only makes a million a year wants to be a
part of that as well? So like how many like
who's going to be the person to deny them that access?
And so now it gets to the point of all
fifteen guys in the team are going to see Steph
Curry doing this and want to be a part of
it as well.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
That's bad for business.

Speaker 4 (29:43):
You cannot do that as a corporation, as a company
as far as allowing everybody to have the same equity
as the company, because if that's the case. The company's
value doesn't hold value anymore because now it's only based
off of these pieces that are involved. And then you
make business decisions, you make strategy moves and all these things.

(30:03):
You know, it's it's a different way of handling things
as a business. It just doesn't make any sense when
you think about it on a grand.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
Scale, right, Why the teams would allow this because, like
you said it, it's like, how are you gonna pick.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
And choose who gets to do this?

Speaker 3 (30:15):
And and Curry is coming from a place of like
Shay said that jump for the Warriors was because of
Steph Curry.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Probably you could say, yeah, the what was it? The
Fab four?

Speaker 3 (30:26):
You know, Igodala, Draymond, Green and Clay were all part
of it. Sure, and then you add Kevin Durant, but
he is the driving force of the Warriors. The Warriors
are who they are because of Steph Curry first before
anyone else.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
But you can't open this.

Speaker 3 (30:41):
Door up because it is a slippery slope. Like I
hear what he is saying, because he feels like he
should be owed more money because of what he has done.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
Maybe you should do that privately.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
Privately, Like don't do that discussion, it will not happen.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Like when I first read the headline, again, it's it's
not going to ring well, knowing that players in the NBA,
you know, like shake kill just all.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Alexander by the end.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
His final year of his contract will be making seventy
five million. Okay, Devin Booker will be making seventy five
million around by the end of his deal.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
So it's like it doesn't ring well.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
But what he's saying, he's looking out for himself in
his pockets of course, but in reality, like you said,
it's bad business for the teams to allow.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
This, and even Steph, I know Steph probably means it well,
and I know he and I know he means it.
I know he means it for everybody as well. But right,
it's just it's it's not going to happen that way.
So when when he says it, it still comes off
a little bit of not.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
A little bit.

Speaker 10 (31:36):
Yeah, I think he's looking at the gaps more than
the amounts, Like he's just looking at the gaps. Like
obviously there someone was saying I don't know who to credit,
but I remember hearing someone saying like in the next
by twenty thirty, we're going to see one hundred million
dollar contracts in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
Oh that was I think.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
Yeah, Jason Smith was just throwing that out.

Speaker 10 (31:53):
Someone saying how it's growing, how it's growing exactly, And
I believe him. I definitely think it's something that we
could see. But I don't think it's necessarily him comparing.
It's more of just him saying nine billion dollars compared
to what I was making as a rookie is absurd.
And it's like the opportunities should be there for someone

(32:16):
to be able if it's like the Tim Duncans, the
the Steph Curry's, the Lebron's while he was a Calve,
like like, these are organizations that were nothings.

Speaker 3 (32:27):
So but imagine, sorry, imagine if Lebron would have gone
equity with the Calves and then he left that team.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Now what Yeah, that's kind of that's messy.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
That was gonna funny you say that word messy.

Speaker 7 (32:38):
That's I mean, I think guys are looking to what
guys like Lionel Messi got to come over to like
MLS too, where he got equity in inter Miami. But
again that's a one year that's one like that was
always assumed you're gonna play for a short time and
then he's there there, but like, yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
As you said, what do you do? But what do
you do with that?

Speaker 7 (32:55):
Like this is kind of it kind of like is
a real struggle to mesh that in with free agency,
which I assume these guys are also going to want.

Speaker 10 (33:02):
At the end of the day, Steph Curry is not
Steph Currery without the Warriors, right, that's what you're saying.

Speaker 7 (33:08):
Yes, that's at any point he had been traded from
the Warriors or wanted to leave the Warriors.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Like, yeah, it's it's an it's messy, it's a it's
a slippery slope, it's Lionel messy, it's messy. Or yes,
I hear, like I heard.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
It, and I just was like I don't, I don't,
I don't see it.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Yeah, it just can't happen.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
It just can't happen.

Speaker 4 (33:29):
Too many moving parts and like they just and that's
a good point. If you get traded and you're not
part of the team anymore, that.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
What happens to that equity because the contract's.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
Gone, so they're not paying it. So is that void?
Is that avoided a lot.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
It's too much.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
And that's why once you're retired, I'm sure the Warriors
would let him. Yes, absolutely, David Robinson once he retired,
I think a year later he bought equity into the Spurs,
but it was after he retired. It's like, it's gonna
happen for you, Steph. It just this is you're I
don't know, you're You're definitely what your message is falling

(34:02):
on deaf sears because it's.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
It's a beautiful pipe drain.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
It's a beautiful pipe dram and gat conversation and it
is a great conversation. On the other side, this is
all Jake Paul's fault, aw Man, all of it. I'm
ready to blame him.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
What do you do?

Speaker 2 (34:18):
I'm gonna tell you don't go anywhere. This is Fox

Speaker 3 (34:36):
Thank you for tuning into Fox Sports Radio with Carrie
Rhodes and I hope you're enjoying the show so far
and enjoying your Sunday, middle of where what day is it?

Speaker 4 (34:47):
It's Chris Plans million dollar baby because he was talking
about Steph Curry last last hour.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
He's a million dollar baby.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
You know it, you know it, you know it? All right,
this is all Paul's fault.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Carrie, What is it?

Speaker 2 (35:02):
What is it fair? What isn't?

Speaker 3 (35:06):
Earlier this week, the Morris twins, you know, Markueth and
Marcus Morris, were on Shak's podcast and they you know,
the drama or the relationship that they have with Nicola
Jokic and the Jokic brothers stems from a couple of
years ago. Remember hard foul u huh, hard foul. Jokic

(35:29):
pushes the whole thing. The brothers get involved. Fake Twitter
accounts are made that were deleted. The Yogic brothers made
a fake one like.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
You want to talk. They deleted all that.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
It seems like it's still happening now in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Still going.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
The Morris brothers decide to say on this podcast, Sharks podcast,
that they want to box the Jokic brothers, boxing specifically
to set up a fight.

Speaker 1 (35:58):
Smart.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
Well, it's smart, yeah, because because you're no, no, it's
not smart.

Speaker 1 (36:02):
No, not physically like all no, no hold barred fighting,
because that.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
Sounds they do say only boxing. You know.

Speaker 3 (36:11):
They make a comment like they're like they're bigger, they're
gonna fall harder.

Speaker 2 (36:15):
We're pretty big. They're like, I'm six seven to seventy pounds,
like I could do this.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
You know what I've noticed as I've gotten older, the
little chihuahua that's yapping and yapping and yapping away is
gonna do no damage.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
All bark no, all bark, no action.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Those big dogs, or maybe the little dog that isn't
saying anything.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
That's the dog that's ready to take you down. So yeah,
they're acting. They're like they're not worried.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
They're not worried.

Speaker 2 (36:41):
So for the.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Morris brothers to do this, I'm just like, you guys
better hope and pray that the Jokich brothers don't say yes,
because you're gonna get your asses b in a boxing match.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
And I think one of the Morris brothers is still
playing NBA, So are you trying to play in the NBA?

Speaker 3 (36:56):
Are you trying to get your as kicked like Jake
Paul Well, not that Jake Park's his ask it because
he wants you know, yes, he's also set Yeah, yeah, exactly.
And I know money can be involved, which is why
I'm saying this is all Jake Paul's fault, because now
everybody feels like they can set up a boxing match
for people to view and then they make a lot
of money and yeah, you get your asking, but.

Speaker 4 (37:15):
You make a lot of money, yeah, Manzy, But integrity
and you're what we remember you for will not be
the playing days anymore. And that's a fact. Like there's
I'm so tired of Monci. I'm glad you brought this
up because I've seen so many former athletes get their

(37:36):
butts whooped and it makes me, it literally makes me
sad because I'm looking at them like I I've played
with you, I know you very well.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
I know you're a tough guy.

Speaker 4 (37:45):
I know all these things about you, and you're letting
these commoners and these people that have admired you and
maybe just be fans have a chance to square up
with you in rings and knock you out and knock
you down like when I saw when I saw eight
Robinson get knocked out in the ring a by Jake Paul,
Like I was legit sad, like I love Nate. He's

(38:06):
a good he's a friend I've seen and I'm like,
why are you doing this? This dude is training. He
may not be you may not think it's a good boxer,
a good fighter, but he's training to do this. We're
tough and we can maybe win in the street fight,
but when you get in that ring and you got
to box somebody that's putting pressure.

Speaker 1 (38:22):
On you, it's a different story, MANSI.

Speaker 4 (38:25):
So I do not want to see the Morris twins,
even though even though we know they're tough and they've
been tough guys in NBA.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
I caution you, guys.

Speaker 4 (38:35):
The lasting image of you laying down with your feet
crossed in the ring knocked out, I do not want
to see. And the Yokis brothers look like they could
do that to you, So stay away.

Speaker 3 (38:46):
Ask yes, no questions asked that they could do this
that you say, you say, Nate Robinson, and it really
took me to I'm looking through my phone. So this
was when I was I was in college and I
had a friend who her friend started a cocoa at
water company and they would send me to like events
to like promote their coconut water. So I got trips
out of it. And I was like, yeah, I'm going

(39:06):
to talk about I can talk about anything. You want
to talk about your coconut water. And so you made
me think I was. It was in Denver. So I
was in Denver and I was headed to they were
having like a health convention, like you know what I mean.
And so I'm walking towards the place in Denver where
there's like a bear. I can't remember it, but it's
like the place where they have conventions. And I am
walking with the girl that I'm working with, and I
see Nate Robinson in like a garage and I like

(39:28):
stop and.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
I was She was like, what you sping?

Speaker 3 (39:29):
I was like, hold on second.

Speaker 2 (39:30):
I was like, mister Robinson and he looks at me
and I was like hi. I was like, I'm a
big fan.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
At the time, I think he was in between teams,
you know, And I was like, I'm a big fan
because you know, a short he's got to stick together
like whatever.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
And then I took a picture with him and he
was so kind.

Speaker 3 (39:45):
He was the nicest, He's the nicest guy.

Speaker 4 (39:47):
Great guy, great guy. And the last image of him
is getting his eyes and other and the worst all
the football players too. I mean, and I just don't
trying to throw Nate out there, but like pac Man,
Robin Yeah, Adrian Peterson, all of them, all of these.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
Who've done then after, like the Morse brothers, It's.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
Like, why would you offer this right now there?

Speaker 3 (40:04):
It's not like you're telling Yokic that he's gonna you
want to fight him, You want to fight these brothers
who have nothing to do that are gonna take you
up on this? Yes, And then when you back down,
you're gonna look like the idiot. You're either gonna get
your ass kicked. Because one of the Yogich brothers is
like a martial art, like fire and martial art.

Speaker 1 (40:22):
It makes look small and it makes he makes.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
Yoga's look small with this, with this mohawk, sitting there
all quietly.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
He doesn't say anything, He just sits there.

Speaker 3 (40:31):
He's gonna kick your ass.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
And again, the worst part is when they say yes,
let's do it. Are you really gonna do it? You're
gonna back down?

Speaker 1 (40:39):
Oh, once you say do it, you gotta do it.
I don't think is gonna back down.

Speaker 3 (40:42):
I think the Horse brothers will back down if they'll
back down for money they'll do it for money.

Speaker 1 (40:47):
Just for their their reps and their egos.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
And but you're gonna lose egos, gonna be bruised for sure.
So they we're just gonna do it anyway.

Speaker 1 (40:54):
You gotta take it. If you're talking, if you're talking noise,
you gotta take the fight.

Speaker 3 (40:57):
I can't. I can't on the other side of this,
what the Yankees gonna do versus what they should do.
I'm gonna tell you, Carrie, because that's your team, We're
gonna dive into it.

Speaker 2 (41:05):
Don't go anywhere. I don't know if that's what they
should do. What's up?

Speaker 3 (41:10):
Everybody? Thank you for tuning in hour two Carry rounds
and myself, THEA and THEO Unk and Auntie those are
all bree you don't you know? We the Summer League
guys we're talking about in the NBA, like Cooper Flag
and base Siley.

Speaker 2 (41:29):
Did I say that right?

Speaker 4 (41:30):
No?

Speaker 1 (41:31):
He Bailey?

Speaker 3 (41:31):
There we go, Hey s Bailey.

Speaker 2 (41:33):
They were talking.

Speaker 3 (41:33):
About unks and like how old is it when you're
an unk? And they're like, if you're in the nineties,
you're an unk.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
No joke.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
Breeze face is so good she cannot believe it. So
now we're clearly unks clearly and thea's here. That's right,
sounds like right there, how Wilia, I will kick you
in the ship.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
I will you in the ship.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
So it seems like we're gonna go to break early
right now because I gotta take care of some business. Yeah,
but boxing match happening right you're all Jake Pul's vault.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
We're about to throw it down, Shay commit And I'm
just kidding, can you move the bones?

Speaker 3 (42:21):
I hate you all? I hate you all? All right,
I'm gonna move on here, move on, stress free, free life,
Carrie and I like to live all right. Your Yankees
are in a predicament right now with Aaron Judge his
flexer strain. Reports are that his U c L is intact.

(42:45):
That's the report that is good if we.

Speaker 2 (42:47):
Believe it, uh, and that he's gonna go on the
ten day I L.

Speaker 3 (42:51):
It was reported today he is not going to immediately
go back to the outfield. He's gonna go.

Speaker 1 (42:57):
To d H.

Speaker 2 (42:59):
What's gonna have exactly what.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
Was gonna happen with John Carlos se Yes, And I
know this is gonna sound crazy to you as a Yankees.
I know because trust me, but I've really been thinking
about it. The Yankees have not looked great. And I'll
tell you it's not even just I know, I told

(43:21):
you about Anthony Volte that like a few weeks ago,
and then.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
He picked it up.

Speaker 3 (43:25):
The amount of errors that the Yankees have are so annoying.
They're sloppy, and I'm like, not trying to blame anyone,
but you are professional baseball players, and if you have
three errors in a game, which they just did coming
off of the World Series with the air that the
errors that we saw right, like, how are you guys

(43:46):
committing these errors? I know still, I'm not sorry to
bring that up. Sorry to bring that.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
Yes, Garrett losing Garrett Cole after he didn't.

Speaker 3 (43:52):
Cover first base. Okay, these errors are like one that
I cannot get over. You should not be committing these
types of airs. You're sloppy. Where is the fear in
losing your job? Not just Aaron Boone, I'm talking about
you know the players, Like where is the fear and
you losing your starting shortstop position, Anthony Volpi, You're getting

(44:13):
a great year out of Paul Goldschmidt, a great year,
Cody Bellinger killing it out there and.

Speaker 2 (44:20):
Yet you struggle against good teams.

Speaker 3 (44:23):
The AL is the Eastern Conference, it is though it
is weak, and if you sneak in there as a
wild card, the way the Yankees look to me right now,
what I've seen Obviously we're at the halfway mark.

Speaker 2 (44:40):
You could surprise me.

Speaker 3 (44:42):
But what I've seen right now is you sneak in
there as a wild card. You're not beating the team,
let alone anybody in the National League.

Speaker 2 (44:51):
The National League is stacked, stacked.

Speaker 3 (44:54):
The American League right now feels like the Eastern Conference,
like the Blue Jays are on top. I don't know
by how many games, five, maybe six or something against
the Yankees, but the Yankees five don't look as clean
as other teams. And with this injury is why I
feel this way now. I didn't feel like this prior

(45:15):
to the injury for Aaron Jo. But I'm just like,
what if you rushed him back because you need him
right now? You're holding on to your the first wall
cart spot. But the other teams are like half a game,
two games like it's there.

Speaker 2 (45:28):
You can get knocked out right, yes, and you can't
sneak in there and get the last one. But what
are you gonna are.

Speaker 3 (45:33):
You going to rush Aaron Judge back from an injury
where you could lose him long term? Night Now, we've
seen Bryce Harper get Tommy John and come back pretty
quickly as a DH. But you can't have Aaron Judge
as a DH. Where's John Carlo gonna go?

Speaker 2 (45:51):
Not with that team? Just call it a season.

Speaker 1 (45:54):
Absolutely not call it a season.

Speaker 3 (45:56):
Absolutely Let Aaron Judge fully recover and don't rush him back.

Speaker 2 (46:01):
Because here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (46:03):
If you if you stay in there, you're going to
rush him back. Like if you stay afloat and get
in the wild card mixed, then the Yankees would be like, absolutely,
Aaron Judge get out there, and what if he really
turns that ucl.

Speaker 1 (46:15):
I, well, I hear you, and you may have some
common sense going on, but the Yankees they're not afforded
common sense.

Speaker 4 (46:26):
Yeah, you have to win at all costs. But the Yankees,
you don't have to rush him back right now. They
put him on the ten.

Speaker 2 (46:34):
D D l ile.

Speaker 4 (46:39):
L ten day Jarvis license and and they're good enough
to win some games without him. So I don't think
I think both things can be true here. They don't
need to rush him back. If they're only putting them
on the ten day I L and they think that
he'll be back in time to give them the boosts
they need to win. They're gonna do it, and they
should do that. For him personally, he's had He's had

(47:04):
little nicks here and there throughout his career, so it's
not like this is something that's uncommon, right, Like, there's
gonna be moments for him during the season that he's
gonna need time off and he's gonna need time to
rest and recoupit rate and get himself back to where
he needs to be. So this isn't scaring me yet.
But obviously we can't afford him to be hurt long term.
So I understand what you're saying. But as far as

(47:24):
the Yankees go, they have to go after it to win.
And you also got to remember there are so many
people their jobs are hanging in the balance here, right
So if this was somebody like where Boone had some
success already and he was comfortable, maybe that would be
an option. There's nothing comfortable about anybody in this situation
at all. The only person that's comfortable right now is

(47:45):
Aaron Judge because he's Judge correct and so that's it.
Everybody else has to win, and there's no way that
this could happen. They couldn't quit MANSI.

Speaker 3 (47:55):
But Aaron, you're making it seem like Aaron Judge plane
is the difference maker. When I look at the Yankees
and I see you make these mistakes, that's where I'm
just like, Aaron Judge is not going to be the
reason you make it or.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
You don't make it.

Speaker 3 (48:11):
It's more of like I would protect him at all
costs right now, I hear you.

Speaker 2 (48:16):
That's where you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (48:18):
Like this, And I don't know if it's like you
need to light a fire, like if Aaron Boone needs
to light a fire up someone's ass in the dugout.
I don't know what it is, but it feels like
you're too comfortable with these errors. It's they're too often
that I see Yankees errors. Yankee error, Yankey air all.

Speaker 4 (48:36):
Right, No, I agree, I mean especially here lately. I
mean it cost him against the Blue Jays, Absolutely, we
saw that. But I think this can help the Yankees.

Speaker 3 (48:43):
You think it's gonna help them instead of it, It can't.

Speaker 4 (48:45):
Help it, can I think when you don't have that
that cushion.

Speaker 2 (48:49):
You don't have that desperation kicks in.

Speaker 4 (48:52):
You don't have that guy that you know that's gonna
come out there and possibly win you a game because
he can do that single handedly a.

Speaker 1 (48:58):
Lot of times, which sounds weird in the team sport,
but he can.

Speaker 3 (49:01):
He can.

Speaker 4 (49:02):
So now you don't have that guy. The other guys
have to raise their play and the manager has to
raise his play, right like, he has to put them
in the best possible situation to win without that buffer
of an Aron Judge, So we get to see what
they're made off. And again, if they go out and
he's on a ten day DL and they lose all
ten games, then they're done anyway. But we'll get to

(49:23):
see that and get to see what they're made of
right now.

Speaker 2 (49:26):
And you're right, this is it's now or never.

Speaker 3 (49:29):
This is going to be their moment.

Speaker 6 (49:30):
This is it.

Speaker 3 (49:30):
Okay, So what if they win without Aaron Judge?

Speaker 1 (49:34):
Yeah, they can take their time a little bit. Is
that what you're getting at?

Speaker 2 (49:38):
Do you put him back in the lineup, if you serve,
or do you hold them off?

Speaker 1 (49:43):
Yeah? I think that gives you time.

Speaker 3 (49:45):
That gives you time, But don't you don't want him
to get out of rhythm, did see?

Speaker 1 (49:49):
And that's the other thing, And that's.

Speaker 2 (49:51):
I'm putting it to you.

Speaker 3 (49:52):
I'm presenting to it.

Speaker 1 (49:54):
And that's what I'm saying. You got to go back.

Speaker 4 (49:55):
If you're ready to play, you have to play, because
that's the other part of it, right, you get you
get rusty. Now you got to get back in the
swing of things. It's like, then that's a couple more games.
So it's just if it's ten and he's ready to go,
like you put him out.

Speaker 3 (50:09):
There and let's go as a DH and then you're
gonna do what with John Carlo Stanton?

Speaker 2 (50:14):
That doesn't it makes no sense, I hear you.

Speaker 6 (50:16):
With the way the team is, the way the.

Speaker 3 (50:17):
Team is controlled, that makes no sense to me, especially
because John Carlo has been hitting the ball so well,
Like you don't want to take him out of that
and what you're gonna take Paul Goldschman out of first
and put John Carlo there, which I don't know if
John Carlo could even play for a space. If I'm
being honest with you, he looks a little he's a
specimen himself. He looks like just taller than every human

(50:40):
I've ever seen until he stands next to Judge, until
he stands. But Judge doesn't look like that to me.
I know Judge is big, I fully know it. But
for some reason, to me, John Carlo looks like just
a freak in a good way.

Speaker 2 (50:54):
I mean it in a good way.

Speaker 3 (50:56):
And I know John Carlo and Aaron are very similar
in physiques since then and they're both specimens.

Speaker 2 (51:01):
But to me, gian Carlo is like a freak.

Speaker 3 (51:03):
And so yeah, I'm imagining him playing first base and
I'm just like, I don't see it.

Speaker 1 (51:09):
It wouldn't be the most esthetically it wouldn't yes, esthetically
pleasing pleasing things. Yes, it would not be all right.

Speaker 3 (51:17):
So you think Yankees have to prove it now?

Speaker 2 (51:19):
It's now or never always in these ten games.

Speaker 3 (51:22):
So I'm saying these ten games are going to be
the deciding factor in.

Speaker 1 (51:26):
This season, in this.

Speaker 3 (51:27):
And that's exactly what I'm talking about this season and
preserving because I would preserve my star, who is also
thirty three years old, the most I can. And if
you're not, again, you just don't. I don't know if
you can beat a team the way the Yankees are playing.
If you sneak in as a Walid Card. I don't
know who you can actually beat. If I'm being honest,

(51:49):
I'm just I hope I'm wrong. You know what I'm saying,
for the sake of you, for the sake of my home,
you know, Sean being a Yankees fan, like I hope
I'm wrong. I hope I'm wrong, and that in these
ten days they can figure it out. It just I
think I would wrap it up, wrap it up.

Speaker 4 (52:04):
These ten days are crucial, crucial in this season, and
they will not give up.

Speaker 1 (52:11):
The fans will not allow it. So I'm sorry, gotta
go get.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
It, gotta go get it. Well, Derek Jeter is not
even gonna be there. He don't even care.

Speaker 1 (52:17):
You don't care, He don't.

Speaker 3 (52:18):
Care, He don't care. How much should we care about
Matthew Stafford's back?

Speaker 1 (52:25):
Oh my goodness, do you hear about that?

Speaker 3 (52:27):
Yeah, we're going to ask Adam Kaplan all about that.

Speaker 2 (52:31):
Do not go anywhere.

Speaker 3 (52:32):
We're going to dive into the NFL storylines with Adam
Adam Kaplan.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
Next.

Speaker 3 (52:36):
He is Carrie, I'm Moncey, and this is Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, everybody? Happy Sunday?

Speaker 2 (52:45):
Thanks for tuning in to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (52:47):
I am Monty Beilanos. He is the All Pro safety.
Carrie Rhodes and we are all dancing, have fun. Mary
Mack on the ones and twos. Christopher Fett has left
gone home for the day. We've got Shay as our producer.
Brianna muro on the updates. Bulletproof.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
That is right. You know who's not bulletproof?

Speaker 1 (53:12):
Who's that?

Speaker 3 (53:13):
Matthew Stafford?

Speaker 1 (53:15):
What happened? What happened?

Speaker 2 (53:20):
He's not doing well? Do we have Adam?

Speaker 3 (53:24):
Adam ready? Adam? Are you there?

Speaker 6 (53:27):
I am guys.

Speaker 1 (53:28):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (53:29):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (53:29):
Adam?

Speaker 3 (53:29):
Thank you for joining us first before we dive in.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
What training camp are have you gone to?

Speaker 14 (53:35):
So?

Speaker 15 (53:35):
I did the Eagles, when I did the hometown team.
That's where I'm stationed. I'll see them again tomorrow. Then
I start driving. I'll see the Giants coming up this
this week, probably Thursday. Then the Ravens, the Jets, the
Steelers Washington. I'm going to see a bunch of joint practices.
I'll see these Steelers with the Bucks, the Commanders with

(53:58):
the Ravens, Eagles with the Browns. Uh yeah, the Ravens
with the Colts. I'll see that early in August. You know,
I try to see as many of these joint practices and.

Speaker 6 (54:10):
Uh, and we'll get we'll get wrong. We'll see if
I make it out. What's this year? I'm not sure yet. Well,
we'll see. I want to, I know I want to.
I don't want to. We we got to see how
it works out.

Speaker 2 (54:19):
All right.

Speaker 3 (54:20):
So our first question for you, Adam, is how worried
should Rams fans be about Matthew Stafford and his sore back.
They you know, they kept him out last week. Now
they're saying a whole another week and we know he
had that that contusion injury in twenty twenty two. Should
fans be worried?

Speaker 15 (54:40):
Well, a couple of things here, so they weren't worried.
And then his back started bothering again. Was a little
bit sore, and.

Speaker 6 (54:49):
It's one of these things that they don't want to
say it's a.

Speaker 15 (54:51):
Setback, but he's still sore. They just thought it would
go away and it didn't yet. Now if we're in
another two weeks here and it's still bothering him, we
got to start talk talking about. Okay, this is something
to be concerned about.

Speaker 14 (55:03):
Now.

Speaker 15 (55:03):
When you're the Rams, you do have a veteran like
Jimmy Garoppolo. I know he's had a lot of injuries,
but he's certainly one of the better backup quarterbacks in
the National Football League, so he would be filling if
there was some kind of problem. But let's face it,
I mean, Stafford's got to get time here with DeVante
Adams's new receiver right after the Jets cut. I mean,
this is a pretty big signing for them. They're gonna
they got a second round tight end in Terriss Ferguson

(55:26):
from Oregon who they're very excited about, and you really
want Stafford back there. Look, I'll take them at their
word that they're not concerned about it. They just want
to be smart about it. But you're talking about a
thirty seven year old player with now they're calling it
just backswordis. But I'm always worried the longer these things
go on. But again, I'm gonna take Sean McVay, the

(55:47):
head coach, what he said yesterday that old is he
wasn't back when they thought he'd be back, But they're
not worried about.

Speaker 1 (55:53):
It right now.

Speaker 4 (55:54):
Yeah, I mean I would, obviously, I just take it
as a sign of caution. Obviously he's the guy can play.
He's done it for a long time, so they're not
going to rush that anyway. But I want to I
want to slide. I want to slide this conversation to
the Bengals. They finally got some mar Stewart's deal done.
How what happened with that? I mean, was it just
timing or was it some other things that happened underneath

(56:15):
the surface.

Speaker 15 (56:16):
So the Bengals finally relented, as I understand it, on
trying to do something they've never done before is have.

Speaker 6 (56:24):
Restrictive language in his contract.

Speaker 15 (56:27):
Look, he is standard language, the fault language, but they
wanted to be a little bit stronger than we've seen
and they wanted to set a precedent. It's just foolish
and good for the agent to to make Look he
got the agent got it done. Zach Hiller's kind of
a young agent, doesn't have a lot of clients.

Speaker 1 (56:44):
He is.

Speaker 15 (56:45):
He's James Cook who's going through a contract situation with
the Bills.

Speaker 6 (56:48):
But this is good that they got this done.

Speaker 15 (56:51):
Now they don't have the Trey Henderson situation resolved yet,
and that's concerned to see the Bengals think they've been
very fair to Hendrickson with their offers, and his side says, no,
you're not.

Speaker 6 (57:01):
You're not even close.

Speaker 15 (57:02):
So despite what the Browns of the Bengals have said
about they've made progress, Hendrickson's side does not feel the
same way.

Speaker 3 (57:10):
Do you feel more comfortable with the Bengals going into
this season because we saw that they can score?

Speaker 2 (57:17):
We saw that all last season. It just wasn't enough.

Speaker 6 (57:19):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 3 (57:20):
So is Shamar Stewart? Can he be a factor, a
difference maker to lead the defense? Can he be that voice?

Speaker 6 (57:26):
You know what?

Speaker 15 (57:27):
He's a good player and by the way, you can
move him around a little bit. It could probably play
inside a nickel because he's long and he's got some
good way to him.

Speaker 1 (57:34):
Wow.

Speaker 15 (57:35):
Yeah, he's not like two thirty to forty like he's
bigger than that. So there might be some things that
you can do with him and move him inside and
pass the situations. But the guy they got to get
something out of and it's his third year is a
first round pick in twenty twenty three has been Miles Murphy.
He's been a disappointment. He at a Clemson and there
were some questions about football character, how much he competed

(57:56):
and how hard he competed. He said all the right
things this offseason. It's a big year for him. They
got to get something out of him. Remember Sam Hubbard,
their other starting again retired. Surprisingly that hurts. There's no
question about a good player, very unerrated player. So yeah,
at Montie, to answer your question, they have some serious
questions on that side of football. There's no doubt about it.

(58:17):
And they're not going away. Look, the defensive times is
not competitive. Last season they had problems not only with
her past rush, the problems with their secondary. They had
a couple guys get hurt. So they have a lot
of questions and they have Al Golden. You might remember
if you follow college football, All Golden, former head coach
at Miami and Temple.

Speaker 6 (58:34):
He's now the new defensive coordinator.

Speaker 1 (58:36):
Yeah, you know, it's crazy.

Speaker 4 (58:37):
I mean, you have a lot of former players and
legends that step away from the game and you know
kind of forget the camaraderie, the right wording to have
when you talk about other players. And there was a
story with Terry Bradshaw taking, yes, taking the jab at
Aaron Rodgers and you know, talking about used to stay
away and chew wanted some bark or something, and then

(58:57):
Aaron came back and had like, I think, a really
class as he responds to it.

Speaker 1 (59:01):
So what's going on with that? Where did that originate from?

Speaker 6 (59:04):
Adam Carries? I understand it.

Speaker 15 (59:07):
This is when Rogers was delaying signing with the Steelers
and being away and you needed more time off and
frustrated and got a obviously a Hall of Fame quarterback
for that Pittsburgh Steeler team. So look, the Steelers are
very happy to have him, There's no question about it.

Speaker 6 (59:24):
He's you don't want to say it's all on him,
it's not.

Speaker 15 (59:27):
I mean, they've they're pretty excited about Caleble Johnson, their
third round running back. They've reshaped their offensive line over
the last couple of years. They made the trade for
DK Metcalf. We talked about what they did in recent
shows on defense with Dary Slay, Jalen Ramsey at corner.
You have the big trade Jhono Smith at tight end,
which is interesting because they already have Pat Fryemouth. So

(59:48):
they've kind of loaded up, no doubt about it, and
the expectations are going to be there. It's not just
about being the playoffs. It's about actually winning a playoff game,
make and run and again they have not won a
playoff game since twenty sixteen.

Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. I'm Moncy, He's Carrie,
the All Pro safety, and we're talking to our NFL insider,
Adam Kaplan.

Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
Adam, let's talk about my Chargers making.

Speaker 3 (01:00:10):
You know, Rushawn Slater the highest paid alignment in NFL history.
Jim Harbaugh likes to use the word weapons aside from
using weapons with like a wide receiver and are running back.
These are his weapons. Is this right, Lou for the Chargers, Yes.

Speaker 1 (01:00:26):
It is.

Speaker 15 (01:00:27):
And with Rashaun Slater, this is you know what's cool,
Like this is a new front office, new coaching staff,
and sometimes when you have that, maybe there's a delay
in this.

Speaker 6 (01:00:36):
There was no delay. I mean, this is ausis in priority.
They made it.

Speaker 15 (01:00:39):
They made a choice here that they were going to
get this done one way or the other. You know,
it's a cool story because he's not like the tallest
guy in the world. There are questions about his arm
length and some times I spoke with for the twenty
one draft thought he should be a right tackle, not
a left. But now they drafted Joe Alt last year
to be the right tackle, and none of the Titans
were going to take him. I'm told last year, had
the Chargers asked on him, he was gonna be the

(01:01:01):
left tackle. He's playing right with them. They bring Makai
Beckton Louisville shocked the world by the way playing guard
last year.

Speaker 6 (01:01:07):
The Eagles thought he could play guard. They were right.

Speaker 15 (01:01:09):
So look, they've rebuilt this offensive line and they got
Amaron Hampton.

Speaker 6 (01:01:14):
For my money's probably gonna be the best running back
for this draft.

Speaker 15 (01:01:18):
I make a long term I never shot gentis the
obvious pick for the Raiders to be maybe offensive rookie
of the year. But a Marion Hampton is super explosive.
And once they get Agie Harris back from that situation,
you know that the fireworks accident, they got a pretty
good one to punch. This is a team, folks, I
know they never beat the Chiefs, and Chiefs win it
every year AFC West. I feel the Chargers this year

(01:01:41):
is a time to make a run.

Speaker 4 (01:01:42):
You know what, I would agree with you, Adam. I
think there might pick. I think there might pick the
win at division. So we'll see. But it's a long
long way to go. But we'll see. I want to
talk about you talk about these these joint practices. Which
one are you most excited to get to. I mean
that that's that's still those bucks can be fun, that
Raven's Commanders will be fun. Which one are you looking

(01:02:03):
forward to get into?

Speaker 15 (01:02:04):
You know, I had a couple here actually this one
Washington at New England, and there's been a lot of
buzz with the Patriots offense. M there's there's no question
that there's that they feel that what they have there
is probably better than most fans think.

Speaker 6 (01:02:21):
And it's funny.

Speaker 15 (01:02:23):
Their win total with Mike Rabble and I get it
he's the head coach, is kind of like with Harriball
going there last year to the Chargers, it's eight and
a half wins, which to me is a lot.

Speaker 6 (01:02:32):
It's a lot higher than you expect.

Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
Not me, not me, Adam.

Speaker 15 (01:02:36):
Really you think they're going you think they get to
ten wins, that's all I told you.

Speaker 4 (01:02:39):
I think they're going to be second or third in
that division. So that's about nine I think about nineteen.

Speaker 1 (01:02:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:02:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 15 (01:02:45):
And with Drake May I know this staff thought he
was a little bit better than they justici paid when
they graded its tape when they took over. They got
a left tackle on Roll Campbell. Stefan Dix is healthy.
He's had a schedule with the ACL.

Speaker 6 (01:02:57):
He's working.

Speaker 15 (01:02:58):
They're very excited about Kyle a third round receiver. So guys,
this is this is a team that can be better
than we think. Trayvon Henderson now is the explosive. He's
the best pass protection back for this draft.

Speaker 6 (01:03:11):
So pretty good. It's pretty good talent on offense.

Speaker 3 (01:03:13):
Speaking of the Patriots, did you see Mike Rabel snapping
at the reporter?

Speaker 15 (01:03:17):
I heard about it, I didn't see it. What was
that about? I saw a headline, but I didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
Yeah, so it's I mean, I loved it.

Speaker 3 (01:03:24):
But he was asked a question and Mike Rabel responded with,
I don't know if you were in a coma or
if you were tweeting for texting, but I just spent
five minutes answering that question.

Speaker 6 (01:03:34):
It was if the guy wasn't listening.

Speaker 3 (01:03:37):
Yeah, no, embarrassing, embarrassing for the reporter because it should
not happen at all. I loved it. Okay, we know
you cover the Eagles. What is their biggest weakness right now?
You think going into these training camps.

Speaker 15 (01:03:50):
Yeah, and look that they can't control it a wall.
It was a decision they made. They were going to
be the youngest defense in the National Football League.

Speaker 1 (01:03:56):
Yep.

Speaker 15 (01:03:57):
They said goodbye to Darius Slay who's now with Pitt
They released him. Brandon Graham, the great edge rusher, retired,
will go in the Eagles Hall of Fame someday.

Speaker 1 (01:04:05):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (01:04:06):
So they're young and it's going to be questionable. Now.

Speaker 15 (01:04:09):
The good story is manci that Joah Hot Campbell, the
first round pick this year, is well. AHAs schedule from
the laboram surgery, so he is ready to go. He
started practicing day one, So now, guys, they moved him
inside to inside backer. He's not an edge rusher right now,
so he is. To me, guys, I think he's got
a real shot to replace Nakobe Dean. And Kobe Dean

(01:04:29):
is coming off of a really bad injury torn p
teller tendon, so Dean probably won't be ready till well
after the season starts.

Speaker 4 (01:04:37):
I want to I want to go to a place
we haven't talked about yet. I mean, I know you're
going to I know you're going to New York, and
I'm excited about you and reporting back on that obviously
with Russell Wilson being naval starter. But I want to
talk about the Falcons camp there. There's been a lot
of rumors about, uh, a lot of rumors about them
trying to get Kyle Pitts involved, which I've been begging
for for yeah, for the last couple of years. Uh,

(01:04:58):
what have you heard anything about how he's performing out there?

Speaker 1 (01:05:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 15 (01:05:01):
In fact, Michael Pennick's are a new starting quarterback, has
actually talked about that, how he feels like this is
going to be Pitts's year. This is a contract year
for Kyle Pitts. And look, Darnold Mooney's got a minor injury.
It's going to be out a couple of weeks. Who
really did a good job last season. You know, they've
got a pretty good offensive line, a lot of high
round picks. They just got to get Pits going. You know,

(01:05:22):
they they weren't looking to trade him. They got calls,
but they weren't going to do what they they want to.
They want to get this right with Kyle Pitts, with Mooney,
with Drake London, with Pitts, with Bejon Robinson.

Speaker 6 (01:05:32):
There's a lot of talent.

Speaker 15 (01:05:34):
You're right, carry there's a lot around him, and it's
just getting it going. I mean, pitts Is he's had
you know, he had the he he had a bad
knee injury a couple of years ago. Some people don't
think he's the same. I don't know what he's a
little bit too finase. He's he should be better than
he is. He's absolutely super gifted.

Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
Do you think the Falcons can dethrone Tampa Bay in
that division?

Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
Yes?

Speaker 15 (01:05:54):
Well, Monci, here's the thing. Yeah, well look both of you.
Tristan Wurst, their star left tackle is going to probably
misstarted the season.

Speaker 6 (01:06:02):
Charlie heck.

Speaker 15 (01:06:04):
Who's dad and he's the Chiefs offensive line coach, Charlie
heck Is, he's a backup right or left tackle. That
does concern me that that could get them off to
a bad start when you don't have your franchise left
tackle for your franchise right handed quarterback check.

Speaker 6 (01:06:18):
That blind side. That does worry me a little bit.

Speaker 15 (01:06:20):
Guys, they may not, they may not get up to
that great start without worse.

Speaker 4 (01:06:24):
That's a great point that the vision just got a
little interesting too, because I like the Panthers as well.

Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
To being better, But we're.

Speaker 3 (01:06:30):
Just talking about the Panthers possibly being better. Last one,
can you explain to me a little bit? Can the
Browns keep all five quarterbacks on the roster?

Speaker 15 (01:06:41):
Well, I mean with Watson, I mean you're you're you
know he's gonna be he won't be on He's not
gonna be with a team. He's on into reserve, so
he's not that's right, He's just not going to play
this season.

Speaker 6 (01:06:50):
So the question is do they keep four or three?

Speaker 15 (01:06:53):
It just it comes down to this, where should our
Sander's at with his development? Where's Dylan Gabriel, who I'm
told has gotten off to a good start. So you know,
we have to watch that. We we kind of have
to watch how this develops. We're so early in training camp.
I'll see them when they come into Philly for a
couple of days.

Speaker 6 (01:07:10):
I look forward to that.

Speaker 15 (01:07:12):
And getting a chance to see them up close. But
Dylan Gabriel the not going to be smaller than six feet.
He's got a good arm, he moves around fine. He's
a guy that you know a lot of people thought
should have been draft a little bit later because he's smaller.
But this guy's guide ability and I saw him the
Super Bowl. He is their third round pick out of Argon.

Speaker 3 (01:07:30):
All right, I can't wait for the training camps to
just really, you know, get in there so you can
tell us, Adam, all of what you see.

Speaker 6 (01:07:37):
Yeah, looking forward to Oh yeah, I'll let you guys
know where I'm at.

Speaker 3 (01:07:39):
Yeah, we appreciate it. Thank you for hanging out with us.
Let us know we'll talk next week.

Speaker 1 (01:07:44):
Thanks, that's good.

Speaker 6 (01:07:45):
Thank you guys.

Speaker 3 (01:07:46):
Adam Kaplan our NFL insider. You can follow him on
next Twitter at Kaplan NFL. Kaplin with a C, not
with a K, just in case I always thought it
was with a K. When I first looked it up,
I was like, Adam Kaplan, Oh, it's a seat.

Speaker 2 (01:08:00):
You got it quickly before we go to Brianna Miro
who's at the news desk.

Speaker 3 (01:08:05):
You and I talked about Matthew Stafford right here, yeah,
last season, and I was like, he's older, a little
bit injury prone, Like why would you move on like
you know?

Speaker 2 (01:08:17):
And now here we are.

Speaker 3 (01:08:18):
I I know Matthew. Matthew Stafford is has been great
and delivered, but I feel like he's more stiff now
than he was from his injuries. Right and Sean mcvaigh
as a coach has to keep things light.

Speaker 2 (01:08:33):
M you believe him, Like Cap said that, he's believing
that it's just a little soreness. It's just I am,
you are as.

Speaker 1 (01:08:43):
Well, I am. I just he doesn't need a full
training camp anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
He needs fair That's a good point.

Speaker 1 (01:08:50):
Right, So you want to protect that guy.

Speaker 4 (01:08:53):
I mean, if he is going down and going to
be down for some time, you want those other guys
prepared to run the team. So right now, it's too
early in camp for me to be worried. But you
know that back thing is always a real thing.

Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
I mean, but one thing is for sure. Davante Adams
cannot get away from Jimmy Garoppolo.

Speaker 2 (01:09:12):
That's the football gods have spoken. They are meant to be.

Speaker 1 (01:09:16):
You got to be there somewhere.

Speaker 3 (01:09:18):
They're meant to be, Like you're never gonna The heart
wants what it wants, and DeVante adams heart wants Jimmy Garoppolo.

Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
That like that gold Mass? Is that that song? What
Selena gold Mess?

Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
The heart? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
Maybe Brianna knows.

Speaker 3 (01:09:31):
Brianna were at the news desk, we know that song.
I don't know. Maybe Mary Mack can find it.

Speaker 2 (01:09:38):
I don't know if that's Jamie Levado or it.

Speaker 3 (01:09:42):
Is Wow, look at you guys, that right, No, it
was wha who is it Selena Gomez?

Speaker 2 (01:09:49):
And not what you said. I don't know now perfect anyway.

Speaker 3 (01:09:52):
Let's keep it rolling. Breamre at the news desk.

Speaker 2 (01:09:55):
What's going on?

Speaker 3 (01:09:56):
Tell us?

Speaker 2 (01:09:57):
Okay, so only one live game going on in Major Baseball? Okay,
your volume put up? Put up my volume?

Speaker 3 (01:10:04):
Okay, Nope.

Speaker 2 (01:10:05):
On the other side, that's fun. Nope, well sure can't.

Speaker 3 (01:10:08):
Now can you hear me? Yeah, we could hear you.

Speaker 2 (01:10:10):
It was just a little low.

Speaker 3 (01:10:11):
Okay, yeah, I could hear you.

Speaker 1 (01:10:12):
It just low.

Speaker 4 (01:10:12):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
People say I'm really loud, so you know, and really obnoxious.
I'm just trying to be you know, Well you weren't
loud enough right here.

Speaker 12 (01:10:18):
Now everybody can hear me. Okay, okay, great off to
a great start, you guys.

Speaker 2 (01:10:24):
Okay, only one live game going on right now in.

Speaker 12 (01:10:26):
Major League Baseball as the Angels are on top of
the Mariners four to one. Cal Rawly did score his
forty first home run of the season so far.

Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
Yesterday was his fortieth, So that's good. Mike Trout drove in.

Speaker 12 (01:10:41):
He's one thousandth RBI on home run three hundred and
ninety seven. Now he's only three away from four hundred.
The Red Sox defeated the Dodgers four to three. The Dodgers'
offense is struggling the last two games, one for fourteen
with runners in scoring position, twenty left on base. Yeah,
and Manzi's face says everything. The Tigers staff is sixty
of losing. Strig be the Blue Jays ten to four.

(01:11:01):
The Yankees avoided this sweep, defeating the Phillies four to three.
The Pirates shout out the Diamondback six to zero. Paul
Skens is a first pitcher to have an ERA below
two through his first forty five starts and in the NFL.
Veteran quarterback corner back Eli Apple is signing a one
year deal with a forty nine Ers. I know last
year he was with the Chargers, didn't do too much.
She was hurt, but yeah, signing a one year deal

(01:11:23):
with forty nine ers just announced about like ten minutes ago.
So no no like money or anything like. Is it
announced quite yet? And then Brown's quarterback can you Pickett
injured his hamstring near the end of Saturday's practice, so
he's expected to be evaluated later next week.

Speaker 2 (01:11:39):
Back to you, guys, Thank you, brie Anna Muro.

Speaker 3 (01:11:42):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. He's carry Roads. I'm
Moncey Bolanos on the other side. Easy as one, two,
three four. Get ready, guys, a lot of baseball questions
coming at you. Don't go anywhere. It's Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:12:07):
Look at you.

Speaker 3 (01:12:07):
Guys singing here in harmony.

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
Bobby No, I've told you I don't think I can
sing very well.

Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
I can keep it tuned, but I'm just like, I'm
not a singer.

Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
It is a muscle that I've never really developed. You
know what I mean, Because.

Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
It is a muscle.

Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
It is a muscle.

Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
It is.

Speaker 2 (01:12:24):
You gotta keep practicing, all right, Let's have some fun.

Speaker 3 (01:12:29):
Easy as one, two, three four.

Speaker 2 (01:12:31):
If you've never heard this segment started.

Speaker 3 (01:12:34):
By Dan Byer that I've stolen. Uh, we test the
crew's knowledge. They have a possible ten points that they
can get and I am going to give you. You
should get that one. You should get that one.

Speaker 1 (01:12:48):
You may you know what, stop saying it.

Speaker 2 (01:12:50):
Let's go seven and a half. You should be able
to get eight points. Out of this. Carrie has lifelines,
Mary Shay and breathe.

Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
They are here to help him. So let's go, guys,
not gonna lie a lot of baseball? Get ready? Name
one of the two locations that have been selected to
host the next two MLB All Star Games.

Speaker 1 (01:13:11):
Shay, what you got?

Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
Try?

Speaker 3 (01:13:15):
He didn't even try.

Speaker 1 (01:13:18):
Come on, say the New Orleans.

Speaker 2 (01:13:21):
You said Orleans for Baseball All Star Games?

Speaker 16 (01:13:25):
Next?

Speaker 3 (01:13:26):
Thank you? Next? That's what I would tell you.

Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
Yeah, no, he's talking about New Orleans.

Speaker 6 (01:13:29):
Bury.

Speaker 1 (01:13:30):
What you got?

Speaker 12 (01:13:32):
They'll say, Fenway of Boston. That's my guess.

Speaker 1 (01:13:36):
That's oh my goodness, Well, okay, all right me yeah, twenty.

Speaker 3 (01:13:41):
Don't even bother ask me, and twenty twenty seven have
been selected.

Speaker 2 (01:13:45):
Cities? Are the rest have not?

Speaker 14 (01:13:46):
N C?

Speaker 13 (01:13:48):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (01:13:50):
Maybe I heard something.

Speaker 2 (01:13:51):
That Texas is Stadium Rangers.

Speaker 1 (01:13:55):
Jesus, oh, one of them? PNC or the Was this
one of the ones I was supposed to get?

Speaker 3 (01:14:02):
No, I didn't think you guys, get tho one?

Speaker 6 (01:14:04):
What you say?

Speaker 1 (01:14:05):
You said? I said, P and C Park, Let's go
P and C Park? All right?

Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
P and C is it? P and C Park is
not so depressing?

Speaker 3 (01:14:15):
It was a little bit next year twenty twenty sixth
Philadelphia Citizens Bank Park, twenty twenty seven. You're so close
Fenway Wrigley Wrigley Field seven.

Speaker 2 (01:14:27):
And that's all we know so far. Okay, let's move on.
You could do this.

Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
Name two of the three teams that have scored the
most runs this season, aside from the Dodgers, who are
in first place with five hundred and fifty three. But
give me two of the three teams after the Dodgers
that I've scored the most runs this season.

Speaker 4 (01:14:45):
As a team, I know team to score a lot.

Speaker 1 (01:14:54):
I mean, I know the Yankees score a lot. I
know I would think that the Mariners score a lot.
Those are my two guests. You guys got anything else?

Speaker 12 (01:15:08):
I have Mariners and Tigers and Yankees. One of those
one of the two of those three.

Speaker 1 (01:15:15):
What about you? Sa I have like Yankees, Giants, Diamondbacks Giants, No,
I don't think they score a lot. Then Diamondbacks Yankees.
I like the Diamondbacks too. Is because of the Oriole
Is it because of the Orioles? Yesterday? Is because maybe
trying the Giants win a lot of bias?

Speaker 10 (01:15:33):
Well, I don't think it's the Orioles, but Orioles scored
eighteen runs yesterday, not the Orioles.

Speaker 4 (01:15:39):
So let's go Yankees. And you said, you guys think
Mariners are good.

Speaker 1 (01:15:43):
I like Diamondbacks, one of the Mariners, but I like
Diamondbacks to.

Speaker 2 (01:15:49):
Trust good man.

Speaker 6 (01:15:51):
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (01:15:52):
Let's go Yankees, and let's go. Let's go Diamondbacks, Diamondbacks. Sorry,
all right.

Speaker 2 (01:15:57):
Show me the Yankees.

Speaker 3 (01:15:59):
That is the one third overall was five.

Speaker 2 (01:16:02):
Hundred and forty three. Show me the time.

Speaker 1 (01:16:06):
Let's go, there we go. I was like, but I
because I do know the.

Speaker 3 (01:16:11):
Five twenty three after the Yankees, Cubs are actually in second,
five forty eight.

Speaker 1 (01:16:17):
That's the one I missed to you.

Speaker 3 (01:16:18):
Red Sox come in fifth, five sixteen. And this was
going into today's games. But this is how it's pretty
Yankees and Dodgers the whole season. I've been, you know,
okay name According to Billboard, oh my game, three of
the four top justin Timberlake songs. Remember, they use a
points system based on how long the song was at
number one, and when it fell like they get less points.

(01:16:40):
So there's a system to this. How many three of
the four top justin Timberlake.

Speaker 1 (01:16:45):
Broadmea River has to be one of them.

Speaker 2 (01:16:47):
Come on, Mary, I need you, TEXI back for sure,
sexy Back. I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 16 (01:16:51):
We're gonna go rethink can't stop the feeling because I.

Speaker 1 (01:16:54):
Was like, super big, I'll rock your body.

Speaker 17 (01:16:57):
No, but my love, No, my love could have been Oh, mirrors,
Mirrors was up there.

Speaker 2 (01:17:04):
Here's one hundred and twenty thousand. You have suit and tiede.
I was really big too.

Speaker 1 (01:17:07):
So mirrors, Crime crimere River and sexy Back.

Speaker 3 (01:17:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
Hold on, so sexy Back you said mirrors and what else?

Speaker 1 (01:17:15):
Crime River and.

Speaker 3 (01:17:16):
Crime a River? Are those your final answers?

Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
That's the wrong what's what?

Speaker 2 (01:17:23):
Ah?

Speaker 6 (01:17:24):
What?

Speaker 2 (01:17:26):
I feel like we could go it.

Speaker 1 (01:17:29):
That's resident that trolls song?

Speaker 2 (01:17:32):
What's up that?

Speaker 16 (01:17:33):
Can't stop the fild That's what I was saying, can't
stop the filming because I was on the radio for
a long ass.

Speaker 1 (01:17:39):
Away say I can't stop the feeling, shouldn't be on
there as well? Yeah, but we need three right, three?

Speaker 3 (01:17:42):
Yeah, So you would eliminate one if you want to
put can't stop the feeling?

Speaker 1 (01:17:46):
Oh, I would probably take off mirrors on that one.
Then what about what do you think? That's you know what?
That's summer love?

Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
You can you know what, I'm not gonna lie, Okay,
you can.

Speaker 16 (01:18:04):
You can mirrors and switch it upright.

Speaker 3 (01:18:07):
So no mirrors and we're you do. Can't stop the feeling, okay,
all right, So sexy back can't stop the feeling crime
a River? Yes, okay, show me sexy back that's coming
in at now medal O. No, yeah, that's right, show
me can't stop the feeling coming in at no medals?

Speaker 2 (01:18:22):
Ye is it crime a River.

Speaker 17 (01:18:27):
The thing is that when platinum and like black people
homes like like like everything everything commercial, everything in commercial.

Speaker 3 (01:18:36):
Then now my Love came in at number three Mirrors
you had number four that was big and uh holy
grail with jay Z.

Speaker 11 (01:18:49):
Song.

Speaker 3 (01:18:50):
Yeah, and so honorable mention five. I put suit and
tie number seven. Come on, Bree saw me. She's like,
why are you looking at suit and Ti.

Speaker 2 (01:18:56):
I was like, breathe don't what my bag? And I
didn't want you to say that because you saw it.
Literally was an honorable medal. Basically, I said all the
ones that we could have got right, yes, yes.

Speaker 3 (01:19:05):
Wait that was mirrors again. It was four four for
them and in this point system and my Love went
three and my Love went three.

Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
Yeah, that was big. Okay, I'm sorright, I'm sorry. All right,
we're gonna do this quickly.

Speaker 3 (01:19:16):
Name four of the five Mariners players to have hit
forty home runs in a season. So in the history
of the Mariners, four of five players to have he
have hit at least forty home runs in a season.

Speaker 1 (01:19:28):
So obviously, cal there we go.

Speaker 2 (01:19:30):
I was gonna say, please do not miss this one.

Speaker 1 (01:19:32):
Ken Griffy, Uh huh Mariners, Ken Griffy Senior? Does that work?

Speaker 2 (01:19:39):
You want to?

Speaker 1 (01:19:40):
Sor and juniors if you want to? Huh? I think so.
I think both of them.

Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
I think that can. There's two different people, So yeah,
sure works.

Speaker 4 (01:19:48):
I don't think I don't think it's role hit. I
know he's a big hitter. I don't think he hit
home runs though. Who else would be on that Mariner?

Speaker 3 (01:19:58):
Yeah, and the history of the Mariners.

Speaker 10 (01:20:00):
You got something, you got something over there, so yeah,
I mean it's while they play with the Mariners.

Speaker 17 (01:20:05):
Correct, Yeah, get forty of course, yes, Hey, thank you, yes,
thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:20:13):
I was like, I forgot all about a rod.

Speaker 3 (01:20:14):
All right, so we're going a rod because.

Speaker 4 (01:20:16):
I don't think eat your no, no a rod kel
both Griffies or kel Rally right, Yes, okay, show me
Kel Rawley that is right.

Speaker 2 (01:20:26):
Show me Ken Griffy Jr.

Speaker 3 (01:20:27):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (01:20:28):
Show me a rod. Happy birthday?

Speaker 3 (01:20:30):
A rod? Is it Ken Griffy?

Speaker 2 (01:20:34):
No, it is not. Ken Griffy Senior? In two, three, four, five, six.

Speaker 3 (01:20:40):
Seven, missed it by just one.

Speaker 2 (01:20:44):
You almost had it. Don't go anywhere. One more hour
to come here River? What's up?

Speaker 3 (01:20:51):
Everybody? Thank you for tuning in. If you've been along
for the whole ride, we appreciate it. This is our
number three all Bro Safety Carry Roads.

Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
I'm ONNCI.

Speaker 3 (01:21:00):
You can follow Carrie on Twitter X at Carrie twenty
five Roads or just Carrie Roads on Instagram. You can
follow me across social media at Monty Milanos.

Speaker 2 (01:21:11):
Let's dive into the epiphany that I have come to.

Speaker 3 (01:21:15):
I think you had already gotten there. It just took
me a while to realize what you have realized.

Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
This past week.

Speaker 3 (01:21:25):
You know, I'm getting ready for the start of the
NFL season training camp, So you start diving into the
storylines and what I'm looking forward to, what excites me,
what's gonna happen here, What's gonna happen here? And then
I came to a realization on a team that I'm
completely out on that I didn't know I was out on.

Speaker 1 (01:21:40):
Who's that manty?

Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
I am completely out on the Miami Dolphins. This isn't
out like I hate them or just like no, no, no,
I am just watching other teams build on already a
great team, a successful team where the teams are crossing
the t's dotting the eyes and not the other way around,

(01:22:05):
kind of fine tuning the greatness.

Speaker 2 (01:22:08):
To get to the next level.

Speaker 3 (01:22:10):
And I feel like I look at the Miami Dolphins
now and I see a dysfunctional team where the vibes
are not that great. In fact, we have sound of
to a tug of Illoa talking about Tyreek Hill.

Speaker 2 (01:22:28):
Right, guys, gals, no, maybe you.

Speaker 18 (01:22:35):
Don't just come back from that with hey my bad. No,
you got you gotta work that that relationship up. You
got to build everything up again. And it's still a
work in progress, not just for me but for everybody.
But now, like I said, he's he's working on himself.
He's working on the things that he say, you know,
he says he wants to get better with and do
better on. So that's the first step to me, And

(01:22:56):
so I commend him for doing that.

Speaker 3 (01:22:59):
So you have to quarterback talking about his number one
star receiver who last year at the end of the
season said he wanted out of Miami repairing his relationship. Yeah,
that's not a good that's not good, Carrie.

Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
This isn't like a brand new team.

Speaker 3 (01:23:17):
This isn't the Patriots who are excited to see what
Mike Vrabel and Drake May are gonna do. This is
This isn't the Steelers who are wondering are we gonna
win a playoff game or were just gonna stay above
five hundred. This is a team that I feel like
it's almost like the Philadelphia seventy six ers, like your
process is done.

Speaker 19 (01:23:37):
Oh you're out on them that way, this is done. Welcome,
Welcome to the club. Welcome to the club, Monty. I've
been talking about Miami being out. I said they're going
to finish fourth in that division, and I can see that.

Speaker 2 (01:23:49):
We looked at their schedule together.

Speaker 3 (01:23:51):
Yes, there's like maybe three games where I'm like, you
should win that game, right, one of them being against
the Saints.

Speaker 2 (01:23:57):
Sorry, Brie, the.

Speaker 4 (01:23:58):
Worst team, the worst team. But no, they're dysfunctional, right
you can tell. I mean the people they let go.
You let go of guys who have cashea. You let
go of guys who you know commanded leadership in the
locker room. Clais Campbell, he's gone. You know, a veteran guy,
steady and presence, he's gone. They got rid of Jon

(01:24:19):
new Smith. You have players speaking about talking, speaking out,
saying that they won't take care of their Pro Bowl
players and.

Speaker 1 (01:24:26):
Paying them and all these things.

Speaker 4 (01:24:27):
So obviously a lot of things are fester and we
know the Tyek Tyreek Hill comments from the end of
last season. This team they're not good enough at for
a prolonged periods of time anyway, even when they were
at their best, like you could always watch them and
be like, Okay, when is this thing going to go

(01:24:49):
off the cliff?

Speaker 1 (01:24:49):
You can kind of feel that way. It's off the cliff.

Speaker 3 (01:24:52):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:24:52):
The team isn't good.

Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
They have some players, splash players that can still make
plays if you want to take some of the some
of their guys and fantasy take them, right, But as
far as them being a good team and a team
that's going to challenge to win that division, it's out
the door. And so it's crazy to think about two
years ago what they want one of the most exciting
teams and a team that you're like, oh, if they
get a few pieces, maybe they're competing for a championship.

Speaker 1 (01:25:15):
To now it's crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:25:17):
It is crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:25:18):
I agree.

Speaker 3 (01:25:18):
I think they're going to end in last place in
that division. I just don't ever. You know, with Tuatogo
by law, it's like everyone is on the edge of
their seat, holding their breath, and not in an exciting way.

Speaker 2 (01:25:29):
It's a please don't get hurt.

Speaker 3 (01:25:31):
Every time he gets hit, you have a moment and
you're like, are you okay? That's not how you want
to approach every game, with a little bit of fear
when it comes to your quarterback. I don't know if
Tua can play in the cold. I don't know if
Mike McDaniel can coach in the cold. I'm not entirely
sure what they can do in the cold.

Speaker 1 (01:25:46):
Nothing, not much.

Speaker 2 (01:25:48):
We haven't seen it.

Speaker 3 (01:25:49):
You get rid of Jalen Ramsey, bring back Mika Fitzpatrick.
So it's like back and forth wishy washy, and you
have all these other teams that again are fine tuning
their greatness yeh, or starting from scratch and have kind
of nothing to lose.

Speaker 2 (01:26:07):
But all the excitement.

Speaker 3 (01:26:09):
Even if you think the Steelers are gonna suck, they're
gonna try to improve to you that they don't, that
they made the right choices.

Speaker 2 (01:26:14):
But you have the Dolphins and it is.

Speaker 3 (01:26:16):
The same looking team where two years ago you saw
how excited it was. They were excited, they thought they
had something. I really think that was short lived and
it's done well.

Speaker 4 (01:26:27):
You just said something like, there's obvious teams that are
taking swings for the fences.

Speaker 1 (01:26:34):
Yeah, the Steelers, we know that.

Speaker 4 (01:26:36):
Obviously, we don't know what that product is going to be,
but they're making those moves, right they're swinging.

Speaker 3 (01:26:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:26:42):
I don't know what the Dolphins are doing.

Speaker 4 (01:26:44):
Liked even outside of what we're talking about right now,
when the dysfunction that's going on, Like, I don't know
what they're doing. They let go of their defensive coordinator. Look,
they let go of defensive stall worts and making trades
here and there and get Ramsey and bring them back
Minka and but I don't know what their identity is

(01:27:04):
and so I think that's the part that's kind of
weird for me.

Speaker 3 (01:27:07):
And two years ago you felt like you knew their
idea and it was explosive fun and Tyreek Hill is
gonna just score all these touchdowns and even you knew
what they were doing right.

Speaker 2 (01:27:19):
At that time? Who was the defensive coordinator?

Speaker 1 (01:27:21):
Was it Brian It was he was the head coach.

Speaker 3 (01:27:25):
He was the head coach at the time. That's what
I was like, Why was that so different? And now
here here we have a team where you look at
the division and you look at their schedule.

Speaker 2 (01:27:35):
If this was two years ago, you look.

Speaker 3 (01:27:36):
At them playing the Panthers and you're like, Okay, you'll
probably beat the Panthers. And now here we are and
I'm like, oh, you can beat the Panthers. Not in Carolina,
not the way, not the way Bryce Young has grown
in this past year where we all are rooting for Bryce.
Everyone is rooting for He's like the little brother for everybody,
like legit, but everyone is rooting for him. Everyone and

(01:27:58):
Canal and Mike David Canalis David Canells to succeeds. So
it's like looking at their schedule, even in their division,
it's like you may win a couple of games out
of your division at home, anything on the road, I
don't see you. I don't see you stealing a division
game like that and the over under like eight and
a half is what they with Vegas. Has you think

(01:28:19):
they're gonna win nine games?

Speaker 14 (01:28:21):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:28:21):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 3 (01:28:23):
I think again maybe three take take the under, even
if the number is seven and a half. Take the number,
y'all because it just looks like the vibes.

Speaker 2 (01:28:36):
Are not the way you maybe want them to be.

Speaker 3 (01:28:40):
You have you have your your course still and it
doesn't feel like you have been working together for a
couple of years.

Speaker 4 (01:28:46):
They have the course deal, but they have nothing around that.
I mean, the old line isn't strong, and the old
line not being strong is the main can turn for
that team.

Speaker 2 (01:28:54):
Number one will make especially with two US.

Speaker 4 (01:28:56):
That's my point, right, And even if they want to
go back to like the original plan where they ran
the ball and they took the shots deep, like maybe
control the control the ball, control the clock, make sure
you're limiting hits on Ontua. But I don't think the
Lion is strong enough to do that. So it's not
like I don't know what this mess really is right now.

Speaker 3 (01:29:16):
And even back then with they have devon Ai Chan
great running back, but it's like you said, the identity
is flawed.

Speaker 2 (01:29:25):
It's it's I don't. I don't know how you move forward.
It's almost like you need to also wrap it up.

Speaker 3 (01:29:30):
I'm talking about the Yankees in that last hour. Wrap
it up, Dolphins, wrap it up.

Speaker 1 (01:29:34):
I'm with you on the Dolphins, not that, not the
Yankees yet, you know that.

Speaker 2 (01:29:38):
What if we're so wrong and they like win the division.

Speaker 1 (01:29:40):
If they win the Super Bowl? Be crazy?

Speaker 3 (01:29:44):
It would be It would be crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:29:45):
I'm we're not wishing any ill will.

Speaker 3 (01:29:49):
It just seems like the other teams, especially in their
division in the AFC, are more connected, more in tune
with each other. And when the best teams are like
that in tune where it's literally like I say something,
you finish my sentence. Here you have the quarterback saying

(01:30:09):
like our best receiver is trying to fix his relationship. Yeah,
this is not a good starting point for the season.

Speaker 2 (01:30:17):
It's too much. Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:30:20):
Well, we'll see, Kerry, We'll see how right we were
in a couple of months. When it comes to the
my yamy Dolphins. On the other side, is it really
just bad luck?

Speaker 2 (01:30:31):
Could it just be bad luck?

Speaker 3 (01:30:33):
Maybe let's dive into what Tyrese Halliburn had to say about.

Speaker 2 (01:30:38):
All those ankle injuries don't go anywhere.

Speaker 3 (01:30:40):
He's Carrie.

Speaker 2 (01:30:41):
I'm Manci.

Speaker 3 (01:30:42):

maybe Shay will repost it, will all repost it.

Speaker 2 (01:31:28):
So just follow us. Make it easy, Make it easy.

Speaker 3 (01:31:32):
This week Carrie, Tyrese Halliburn was on the Pat McAfee show,
and you know, still it's like yesterday right seeing him
fall to the ground in that finals game. Right away
he slams the floor. You immediately know that he knows
it's not good, and he had something to say that

(01:31:53):
I found very interesting that I feel like you just
don't hear everybody seems to know the answers right. And
here's Tyre's Halliburn again the Pat McAfee show.

Speaker 14 (01:32:01):
There's like a notion when guys get injured, or when
this has happened so many times, that everybody thinks that
they have the answer as to why this is happening.
Everybody thinks we play too many games, play too many minutes.
All those things could be true, But I don't think
that that is what is causing these injuries. Last season,
if I'm not mistaken, I don't think there was a
single achilles tear last season, and it was the same

(01:32:21):
amount of minutes, same amount of games, right, Guys didn't
suddenly get larger in the course of a year. So
I don't think that anybody has necessarily the answer. I
think injuries are just bad luck sometimes and that's just
what happened. But I think that that's just what happens
in sports sometimes, you know, I think there's no way
to really control it.

Speaker 1 (01:32:38):
But everybody has the answer. It seems like bad luck.

Speaker 3 (01:32:43):
And you know what, I kind of agree with him.

Speaker 1 (01:32:45):
You agree with them.

Speaker 3 (01:32:46):
I kind of do. It's hard for me to believe
that it's too many minutes when mckel Bridges and Josh
Hart literally play every single game for the Knicks and
they're fine. I sometimes wonder if it's diet and what
you're eating and like what you're consuming, whether your bones
or your ligaments are different than you know. I think

(01:33:06):
your diet might be a part of it, But I
do think it can be something as simple as bad luck.

Speaker 4 (01:33:14):
It can be, yes, but I'm going to disagree with
Tyresee on this one. Whenever you're injured, there is a
smidge of bad luck. That's just the cards you're dealt, right, Like,
it's part of sports. But the way that these younger
athletes are training is a detriment as well. They're doing

(01:33:36):
more training, more stuff on air, so it looks esthetically pleasing, okay,
but they're not in the trenches. They're not in the
wars of doing the.

Speaker 1 (01:33:46):
TOA days and the real training camps of NBA, or
the real training camps of the two days in NFL
or the other sports.

Speaker 4 (01:33:52):
Right, your body has to go. There's a certain nutrition
that happens as an athlete. You have to go through
Thosettrician attrition wars, and you have to get your body
to have some callous like your body has to have
to go through these things to understand what it's about
to go through. And they're not getting that same those

(01:34:13):
same battles and those same wars heading to season. So yes,
bad luck is a part of it. But the way
that athletes, the modern athletes are training to be more explosive,
to be more powerful, to do all these certain things
that looks esthetically pleasing, it's not getting them ready for
the long season. So I'm gonna say it's not all
bad luck. There's some bad luck, but there's also certain

(01:34:36):
ways to train I think that will help that as well.

Speaker 3 (01:34:38):
So it's just I know training for basketball is obviously
very different than the NFL. And the reason the NFL
has just shortened the preseason or an eliminated you know,
contact during practice because it's physical. It's physical, but when
it comes to basketball, it's like you're you're there's no
way you're not training properly, and even if you add

(01:35:00):
the minutes, it's like you build it up.

Speaker 2 (01:35:01):
I have a hard time believing it. If this was
we saw it with Chet Holmegrand Sorry, chat, I.

Speaker 3 (01:35:09):
Was like, where's this talk guy? I was making gestures of.

Speaker 2 (01:35:12):
A tall guy. Everyone saw Chet Holmgren.

Speaker 3 (01:35:14):
Like, what I was gonna say is I believe that
with like the newer NBA players, that maybe your body
isn't training right and you're not ready to move up
to this level. But for somebody like Tyry's Teliburn, who's
been in the NBA for so many seasons, I feel
like it really comes down to Look, I mean, I
hit my toe, Carrie knock gone fake wood.

Speaker 1 (01:35:38):
That hurts.

Speaker 3 (01:35:38):
I hit my toe all the damn time. I don't
understand how I've never dislocated, how I've never broken it.
Then you hear Justin Fields was stepped on and dislocated
his toe.

Speaker 2 (01:35:53):
That's bad luck. That's absolutely like I hit my toe
every damn day.

Speaker 3 (01:35:58):
I'm like on the floor, roll out of pain, and
I don't understand my toe.

Speaker 2 (01:36:03):
It's still intact, but it is.

Speaker 4 (01:36:05):
That's not part of your journey, Monty's.

Speaker 1 (01:36:08):
I've already told you, and I've said this before.

Speaker 4 (01:36:10):
I'm going to go to We'll go there a little
bit just to disprove your bad luck, just for a
minute here and not yours ty reesis sure. The path,
the journey has already been written. So if we want
to go like on this level, that's not bad luck.
That's just part of your journey. So when you say
that bad luck is at play at anything for me,

(01:36:33):
it doesn't work.

Speaker 1 (01:36:34):
In my mind.

Speaker 2 (01:36:35):
You want a reason, people want you want a.

Speaker 4 (01:36:38):
Reason, but it's not a reason. It's part of your journey.
And I think the part about athletes when they get injured,
you take it. I think the way that you take
that injury, the way that you receive that injury is
the is the blessing or the or the curse. Because
if you think it's something that's happening to only you
because you're unlucky, or it's bad luck, it's that's not it.

(01:36:59):
It's part of your journey as a human. So how
do you evolve from this? How do you help other
people to educate them on the injury or the injury
process or the recovery, Like, there's other ways to tell
this story. And I think that's the part that gets
missing when we talk about bad luck. If you throw
that word out there casually, people are just thinking, well,
I'm doing everything right, and then it's just bad luck. No,

(01:37:21):
like you can do other things and there's other preventative
measures of how to attack a season. And you look
if you do the research on older players and see
how they went through the attrition of certain things. In
training account basketball, we talk about not training and being
You don't think it could be just training. It has
to be because if those players at that time had

(01:37:42):
the medical advancements that they have this time, you don't
think some of those players would still be playing or
have a longer longevity as players. So it's not as
simple as saying bad luck.

Speaker 2 (01:37:54):
It's so funny to hear you say this from obviously.

Speaker 3 (01:37:58):
As a professional athlete, because it sounds to me like
you just don't want to accept that it was out
of your control and just luck or bad luck. You
want a reason so that you know it won't happen again.
Is that more of what it is? Like you want
to you want the reason this happened to me. Now
I know to not do X, y Z, and this
won't happen again. But if you leave it to believe

(01:38:19):
that it's just bad luck, then it's like, okay, so
it can happen at any time, and you don't want
that mentality.

Speaker 2 (01:38:25):
You don't you don't want to approach it that way.

Speaker 1 (01:38:27):
I don't want younger players to hear that either.

Speaker 3 (01:38:29):
Interesting because to me it's almost like a little bit
easier to accept that. It's like if you're a young
player hearing that, it's like, you're right, it was bad luck.

Speaker 2 (01:38:37):
We don't have to worry. I don't have to dwell
on what I did wrong.

Speaker 1 (01:38:41):
See, and that's terrible.

Speaker 3 (01:38:43):
Is that terrible? Yes, because I wouldn't want to dwell,
like like if I got hurt, I wouldn't want to
sit there and be like, man if I wouldn't have
done this, or if I would have done that, I
would that would kill my thoughts. But while I'm in
rehab right, like you're not moving right, like if you're poor,
Tyrons Cliburn. I I knock on wood again, And I
know I run a lot, and I'm always like, if
I got hurt to the point where I could not

(01:39:03):
be physically active, shoot me, because I'm going to have
a hard time.

Speaker 2 (01:39:08):
You know, I'm active. Like I feel like if I
sat there in my thoughts.

Speaker 3 (01:39:12):
And it was like you did this wrong, it would
eat me alive and saying man, I just had bad luck,
easier for me to recover and like get past it. Yeah,
but you're right, but I and I hear what you're saying.
I just didn't look.

Speaker 2 (01:39:26):
At it like that.

Speaker 4 (01:39:27):
You have to because if say my in twenty eleven,
I got hurt in Arizona, I broke my foot.

Speaker 1 (01:39:32):
I broke my fifth meta tossle on my foot, I.

Speaker 3 (01:39:34):
Don't know what that means.

Speaker 4 (01:39:35):
I broke the outside, I broke the I broke the
outside of my foot, so the last little that.

Speaker 3 (01:39:39):
Bone on the outside of the outside, Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:39:41):
I broke it.

Speaker 4 (01:39:43):
Missed quite a few games, supposed to be out for
the year, but I came back and played at the
end of the year because I was like, I'm gonna
get back and I'll get ready. There was no time
in that process where I was like, this is bad luck.
I was like, okay, now, let me assess. Was I
too heavy? Like I wanted to do the research on why,
because I've played didn't miss a game my whole career

(01:40:03):
until that point, so obviously I did something correct and
had you know, the stars were aligned as well. But
when I got hurt, there was no like, oh, this
is bad luck. Why did this happen to me, and
it's just I have no control of none of that.
Like I was like, Okay, I'm going to do everything
I can for that not to happen. Now, with me
doing everything I can for that not to happen, things
can still happen. Sure, But that's not bad luck. That's

(01:40:26):
just it's just part of the plan. And so I
think just the wording of that is I'm not aligned
with it.

Speaker 3 (01:40:31):
Oh yeah, No, I didn't think of it the way
you have thought about it. I really looked at it
a different way. How did you break the toe?

Speaker 1 (01:40:39):
Just just planting? So a normal thing that I would do,
all the normal things.

Speaker 4 (01:40:44):
It just it's just the body was like, okay, you're
done for a little while, Like you've done too much
and now you got to reset, take a break and
come back and stronger than ever. Like that's my that's
my process, not like oh I got hurt. Oh man,
sorry me?

Speaker 2 (01:40:58):
No, because yeah, yeah, sorry me no.

Speaker 3 (01:41:01):
Yeah, Like I hear you.

Speaker 2 (01:41:03):
I don't know if I completely.

Speaker 3 (01:41:04):
Agree even though I hear you, but yeah, I feel
like that that is the mentality that I think I
would want to approach if something like that happened to me,
and it's factors of like it wasn't a rookie that
went through this. It's a guy who's been in the NBA,
who has been training, who has been playing, and so
for him, it's like, no.

Speaker 2 (01:41:23):
I understood. I understood it, and I was like, I
feel like that's.

Speaker 3 (01:41:26):
A good mental way to rehab. And I'm hearing you
and I'm like, aha, interesting. I don't know if I
fully agree, but uh, I'm gonna I'm gonnam a little over.

Speaker 2 (01:41:37):
As we go over to the news desk with Brianna
A Murro, I.

Speaker 3 (01:41:42):
Don't know, man agree, you know, how do you feel
about the bad luck with injuries?

Speaker 12 (01:41:48):
I mean everybody kind of has their own kind of
view on like like curses or I'm not gonna like
I can't wear it, like I can't wear this Saint
shirt like during a Saint's game because I think it's
a curse.

Speaker 3 (01:41:58):
Right, Like I mean, you know you were are your.

Speaker 12 (01:42:00):
Herbert Jerseys on Sundays and stuff like, I you know,
so I guess who a little bit you're you understand
what you said, Okay, I understand that just a little bit.

Speaker 3 (01:42:11):
Yeah, just a little bit.

Speaker 12 (01:42:12):
But oh gosh, you guys, I feel like I'm in
the middle of all these things. You guys are coming
up with today York Jeter and now.

Speaker 3 (01:42:18):
This, I'm like, please do just because we don't agree,
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (01:42:25):
You're fine.

Speaker 3 (01:42:27):
We were friends.

Speaker 2 (01:42:27):
I don't know anymore. Okay, well, okay, carry on, you
can sell my shak ticket. It's fine, absolutely not.

Speaker 3 (01:42:33):
We are going to see Shakida.

Speaker 2 (01:42:35):
Very excited.

Speaker 1 (01:42:35):
Oh I know, Harry, I did not know that we.

Speaker 3 (01:42:37):
Want to see Shakida Shakita.

Speaker 2 (01:42:39):
Yeah. Next week, We're really excited.

Speaker 3 (01:42:41):
I can't wear my shirts.

Speaker 2 (01:42:43):
Oh yeah, me too.

Speaker 3 (01:42:43):
I just got my glass week.

Speaker 12 (01:42:44):
Okay, I'm sorry you broken toes today in the NFL
this weekend so far. But Brown's quarterback Kenny Pickett did
injure his hamstring near the end.

Speaker 2 (01:42:54):
Of Saturday's practice. He'll be evaluated later next week.

Speaker 12 (01:42:58):
Veteran cornerback Eli Apple is signing a one year deal
with the forty nine ers the Cowboys. You know, there
were some pay Mike a chance at practice today. They
paid Jake Ferguson instead, So a four year, fifty two
million dollar extension.

Speaker 2 (01:43:11):
I don't think.

Speaker 12 (01:43:12):
Anybody was saying pay Jake, but hey, whatever, Cowboys are
gonna cowboy right, all righty. In Major League Baseball, the
Angels defeated the Mariners four to one. Cal Rawley scored
his forty first home run of the season. Mike Trout
drove in his one thousandth RBI on home run three
hundred and ninety seven, only a few from four hundred,
so that'll be really exciting. Some good news in Anaheim. There,

(01:43:32):
the Yankees avoided the sweep and defeated at the Phillies
four to three. The Pirates shout out the Diamondbacks six
to zero. Paul Skins had nine strikeouts gave up three
hits in six innings. He is the first pitcher to
have an ERA below two through his first forty five starts.
Their Rangers beat the Rave the Braves eight to one,
fur their six straight win. Corey Seger has extended his
on base streak to twenty seven games.

Speaker 2 (01:43:54):
Court singer court my forever, My love, Forever, my love.

Speaker 12 (01:43:57):
So I'm gonna actually see him on Wednesday when they
Clay Angel So that'll be good.

Speaker 3 (01:44:01):
Oh you're going to the Angels, I am Oh, I know,
that's fine.

Speaker 2 (01:44:05):
It's fine.

Speaker 3 (01:44:06):
Wow, backstabbing.

Speaker 1 (01:44:08):
I thought you got were friends to the Angels. With me.

Speaker 2 (01:44:14):
I'm sober.

Speaker 3 (01:44:15):
It's over.

Speaker 12 (01:44:16):
Anyways, I'm back to you guys.

Speaker 3 (01:44:18):
Thank you with you, Bree, you did a fabulous job.

Speaker 2 (01:44:22):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (01:44:23):
You can follow Brianna on Twitter x at Bree Denise
twenty six.

Speaker 2 (01:44:28):
Bre spelled like the cheese. It's it's different, it is
bre spelled like.

Speaker 9 (01:44:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:44:36):
I mean, before we move on to the next topic,
I will say I am surprised at how the Atlanta
Braves have sucked me here.

Speaker 2 (01:44:45):
I am too, dude, Like, I can't get over it.

Speaker 3 (01:44:48):
At the start of the season, I would have put
money that they make it to the postseason. And now
they're like twelve, like double digit games under five hundred.

Speaker 1 (01:44:56):
Oh yeah, they're not good. Oh when I saw it, Slaw,
I was like, yeah, Brazzy, get back right.

Speaker 3 (01:45:02):
And now here they are and I'm like, wow, you
guys should wrap it up. No, wrap it up, wrap
it up. Put Ronald Acuna Junior somewhere else. It doesn't
get hurt, save them. Like surprised about that. Also surprised
of the news that came out today out of the
NBA Carrie it's not always about winning, it's not and
the Chicago Pools prove that today extending Billy Donovan to

(01:45:28):
a multi year extension.

Speaker 2 (01:45:30):
M hm, this will be he's going to enter his
sixth gear.

Speaker 3 (01:45:34):
In these five years, they have had one playoff appearance.
Now they make the plan, yes, but they lose to
the Miami Heat, like every single year the Miami you know,
no surprise, they're they're a well oiled machine and in
those playing games, they know what matters and they deliver,
and they gave them a multi year extension. And it's
just like, is this a slap in the face to

(01:45:56):
like Tom Thibodeau and all those coaches where it's like
or dar Ham, like with the Lakers, like they're winning,
they're delivering, but they didn't get to what you thought,
and so you fire them. Here's Billy Donovan, Like they've
tried that. The Bulls have made moves, they try and
it has fallen flat. Yeah, in the last five you

(01:46:18):
can even argue before Billy Donovan, you know, like with
Derreck Rose, like, the Bulls just have not been able
to get back really to you know, what they would want,
and that's to be a championship team. Are you surprised?
I was surprised, But it goes again. It's not always
about winning.

Speaker 1 (01:46:33):
Yeah, No, I agree with you, it's not all about winning.
I think there's sometimes stability means more than winning, because again,
if you have a stable situation, you can kind of
you can have a pipe dream that it turns around
right and you can win. So I think that's part
of it. And you mentioned you mentioned a couple of coaches,
you mentioned Ham, and you mentioned you mentioned.

Speaker 2 (01:46:54):
Thibodeaux that had success. You know, right, But where.

Speaker 4 (01:46:57):
Were those two Where were those two guys at there?
The Lakers in the Knicks, and so the Bulls should
be in they should be in that same but they
haven't been there in a while, so they're not used
to in either of the Knicks. But the Knicks got
in a situation where they exceeded expectations early. You're bringing
the coach that's known for winning, even though he doesn't
win the big one, he wins. And so that kind

(01:47:19):
of plateau of the Knicks, the Lakers and Darmingham was
just not a good look. All the memes and all
the things that came from it. It made sense why
they cut ties there as well. But the Bulls they're comfortable,
they're comfortable being in that seven to ten spot fighting
for the playoffs, and that's pretty evident. And so a
coach like Billy Donovan who's safe and doesn't have anything

(01:47:39):
on the exterior happening, I can see why they are
keeping him and giving them much hands. But I agree
with you. I mean, at this point, it doesn't look
good the fact that they're settling with a coach that
hasn't won when Thibodau's gone with the Knicks, so.

Speaker 3 (01:47:50):
Settling you just said it comfortable. They're comfortable being in
this position, and it's just crazy because now the leashes
for coaches are tighter than ever. It doesn't matter what
you did one year, you got to do it today.
Look at Mike Brown, honestly, and what is it about
Billy Donovan.

Speaker 2 (01:48:11):
It's got to be his presence right with the players.

Speaker 1 (01:48:13):
There's got to be something.

Speaker 3 (01:48:14):
There's got to be something because not that you're a
bad coach, but when you are comfortable with just making
the play in and then being bumped and the front
office has tried to make moves, it just hasn't worked out.
But even though with other teams we see where the
front office makes moves that don't work. The first person

(01:48:35):
out is the coach that's the first person you blame.

Speaker 2 (01:48:39):
And the Bulls, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:48:40):
Maybe it's a breath of fresh air to see that
they're not just getting rid of their coach that they
do like that, they do trust when I feel like
maybe that's what's happening with owners.

Speaker 2 (01:48:51):
They want to win now, they want to.

Speaker 3 (01:48:52):
Do it yesterday, and even if you have a good
coach in front of you, you're willing to let him
go for what The Knicks had no plan, they no
plan when they got rid of Tom Tabeaux. At least
you have the Chicago Bulls who are like, we have
not met our expectations, but we like you as the
coach to keep trying this out.

Speaker 2 (01:49:14):
Yes, we don't see this. You don't see this.

Speaker 1 (01:49:17):
Yeah, no, And I agree. I agree with that.

Speaker 4 (01:49:19):
And I think also with the Bulls, they have to
get rid of that Jerry Krause, that that little that stench.
I think that's part of uh this as well. I mean,
they haven't had the success that they should have had.
Like you said, you went back a little further with
the Dereck Rose and Joe Kim Noah and the lou
All Dangs. Like the Bulls, they tried it, they had
a chance to do something. Then the injury happens, right,

(01:49:42):
and so ever since that, here we go, the injury happens,
and now they've been set back to this point. But yes,
I think they are comfortable with what Donovan has done there.
And yeah, I mean he can win. He's won a
championship in Florida, he want and okay, see, so we
know he can win.

Speaker 1 (01:49:59):
So let's let's be patient.

Speaker 2 (01:50:02):
So you you okay.

Speaker 3 (01:50:03):
I was gonna say, are we wrong in feeling positive
about this, because.

Speaker 2 (01:50:09):
Sometimes you need to change things up and they're choosing
not to do that.

Speaker 3 (01:50:14):
I'm going into the sixth yeer one playoff appearance. Yes,
because of the plan, but they're in the plan as
like a nine to ten yes, not like seven eight.

Speaker 1 (01:50:23):
They chose Donovan, they chose the coach over the players.
They got rid of the players that were not working
in his game and the way that he wants to
run things.

Speaker 4 (01:50:34):
So obviously there's that's the conversation. Sure, because they did
underachieve in my opinion, they did, absolutely, but I would
put it more on the players. And I know, like
a lot of times, the coach has to govern that
and make that work. But the players that had, even
though they were all stars and good, it wasn't a
good fit. No, And so you get rid of those
and give him a chance with the team that he
probably wants.

Speaker 3 (01:50:54):
I love Zach Lavine, a big fan, and it was
frustrating to watch.

Speaker 2 (01:50:58):
The Bulls not reach the next level.

Speaker 3 (01:51:00):
Yes, because on paper you were like, you have all
of these stars, why isn't it clicking? And obviously we
have seen that that Phoenix Suns try to put these
starts together, sorry Brie, and it didn't work.

Speaker 2 (01:51:10):
And so we see this all the time, but it's
always the coach who gets blinked, regardless of it, regardless
of it.

Speaker 3 (01:51:19):
And I also wonder because they're on the East, and
we talked about how open the East is, like there
is a chance to succeed.

Speaker 2 (01:51:27):
Even though you got rid of all your players, and
you're gonna you.

Speaker 3 (01:51:30):
Still have a chance to succeed, maybe not win, but
to get in the playoffs, get in as an actual
maybe six seven, you know, seed not necessarily have to
play in the play And because you just have bad
luck against the.

Speaker 4 (01:51:41):
Miami, let him coach with a team that he orchestrates
and that he wants.

Speaker 2 (01:51:46):
Okay, instead of being handed in.

Speaker 4 (01:51:48):
The style that he wants to play, like, he has
younger players. Now he's going to have a team that,
you know, Kobe White, who can score a lot, he'll
be a nice he'll have a nice boost in his career.

Speaker 3 (01:51:59):
And then Josh, oh my gosh, I forgot Josh Kitty
was there, Like.

Speaker 1 (01:52:03):
Let them get that team the way they are without
without the people that you know that would put there.
You have stars that you know, you expect to do
a certain thing and play a certain way. Like, let
him build the team that he wants and let's see.

Speaker 2 (01:52:18):
I like that.

Speaker 13 (01:52:19):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (01:52:20):
And obviously this is probably something that they told Billy Donovan,
like we want you, let's kind of start over and
give you a young team.

Speaker 2 (01:52:29):
Because I always hear leadership when it comes to Billy Donovan,
and we like his leadership.

Speaker 3 (01:52:34):
We like how he talks to the guys, Like that's
what I feel like every time I read about him.
That's the driving force. Well, Billy Donovan proves that it's
not always about winning. Sometimes sometimes it's about what else
do you bring to the table? What else is out there?
Not many options? Not many options. So the Chicago Bulls
decide to keep Billy Donovan Carrie. It's gone by so fast,

(01:52:58):
always three. We're gonna wrap this up on the other
side with the little carry on or off, don't go anywhere.
He's Carrie Roads, All Pro Safety.

Speaker 1 (01:54:21):
Well swan. You are done?

Speaker 2 (01:54:25):
Yeah, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:54:27):
If you've never heard this segment before, basically, I present
Carrie some options and he's gonna tell me whether he
is on board or not. That's that's essentially it. All right, Carrie.

Speaker 2 (01:54:39):
My headphones are starting to fail here. But I'm good.
I'm good. No, I'm good. We're good.

Speaker 3 (01:54:43):
We're good, We're good.

Speaker 2 (01:54:44):
Okay, Carrie, are you on or off? Tattoos on your foot?

Speaker 1 (01:54:51):
I'm so off of that. I saw I saw the
Lamello ball.

Speaker 2 (01:54:57):
That's exactly what I'm talking about.

Speaker 4 (01:54:59):
At the tattoo, and if it it was like a
hot cheeto, I don't know what it was. It was
something weird, but it is the worst thing I've ever
seen in mine.

Speaker 2 (01:55:06):
It is the worst tattoo.

Speaker 3 (01:55:08):
Listen, LaMelo Ball has every tattoo possible around his body. Yeah, Lamello,
just because you have so many tattoos doesn't mean you
have to get a stupid one on your foot. His
toes are flames that each like they're red hot.

Speaker 1 (01:55:22):
That's what I said, red hot flame in cheeto.

Speaker 2 (01:55:25):
Yes, they look like they're on fire.

Speaker 3 (01:55:27):
But it's like flames, like drawn flames from like the nineties.

Speaker 2 (01:55:31):
Remember we used to go to like maybe hot topic
and you saw.

Speaker 3 (01:55:33):
The flames back then, like the hot rock. Yes, and
it's every toe. So his toes are red and then
it's like a flame. No idiota.

Speaker 1 (01:55:43):
It is the dumbest thing ever, the dumbest thing. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:55:46):
Again, just because you have all the tattoos already doesn't
mean you gotta go get this one.

Speaker 2 (01:55:50):
Okay, Yeah, moving on, Carrie.

Speaker 3 (01:55:52):
Are you on or off chuck e Cheese?

Speaker 2 (01:55:55):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:55:56):
I'm on tuck of cheese.

Speaker 6 (01:56:00):
On it.

Speaker 1 (01:56:00):
I was just recently, like a year ago.

Speaker 4 (01:56:03):
I was just mulling around town and I saw a
random Chucky cheese and I made I made who I made.
The people I was with stop and we went into
the Tucky Cheese and played the games. And I saw
that the new mouse and I was scared more of
the new mouse than the old animatronics. And I know
that's where you're going next, but go ahead, mantes.

Speaker 3 (01:56:23):
Oh did you see I love Chucky Cheese. By the way,
I celebrated I maybe my eleventh birthday at Tricky Cheese.
Thank you to my mom and my daddy for doing
that for me.

Speaker 2 (01:56:33):
But did you see that Chucky Cheese was arrested?

Speaker 3 (01:56:37):
Y'all?

Speaker 2 (01:56:38):
Like, can we let the man take his mask off?

Speaker 3 (01:56:41):
This is traumatizing.

Speaker 2 (01:56:42):
That's my childhood hero.

Speaker 16 (01:56:44):
I saved the picture of my phone.

Speaker 2 (01:56:45):
Say really funny, it's so freaking hilarious. But there's like kids,
I'm like, y'all, we couldn't at least take the mask
off this man.

Speaker 1 (01:56:56):
He was just he wasn't even done with this shift yet.

Speaker 3 (01:56:58):
He wasn't done with this shift. They literally arrest Chuck E.
Cheese and pull him out, And I agree with you.
The new one is scarier looking than the back then.

Speaker 1 (01:57:09):
One scarier than the animatronic, which is weird.

Speaker 2 (01:57:12):
I love the animatronics. Bring back animatronics everywhere.

Speaker 1 (01:57:15):
It is scarier.

Speaker 16 (01:57:17):
No five nights that freddy? Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:57:21):
Then why is so high love animatronics?

Speaker 4 (01:57:25):
The friendly looking mouse face stingy with the great it's.

Speaker 2 (01:57:31):
I think it's because he got skinny. You know what,
You're right, that is a part of it. You know,
Mary is right?

Speaker 3 (01:57:36):
About that. I love animatronics and I hate that that's
like an old school thing and now everything is like
digital or like a simulator with three D.

Speaker 2 (01:57:45):
Give me the animatronics. And he had a purple hurt
and like it's just weird. What's he doing?

Speaker 3 (01:57:50):
But chunky cheese.

Speaker 2 (01:57:51):
We love you, we love you, okay, the crime. Just
let him all I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (01:57:55):
Can we let him take his mouk off? That's all
I was asking.

Speaker 1 (01:57:58):
It's all.

Speaker 2 (01:57:58):
That's all all.

Speaker 3 (01:57:59):
Right, carry on or off. If you're in the fast
lane on the freeway and there's no traffic, you better
be going seventy minimum.

Speaker 1 (01:58:10):
I'm on that, thank you.

Speaker 4 (01:58:12):
Yes, don't get in the fast lane if you're gonna
go slow and try to trying to maintain traffic distance.

Speaker 1 (01:58:19):
Let's go drive. I am, yeah, going.

Speaker 3 (01:58:21):
On the freeway Sunday morning. Yeah, there's it's not empty,
but it's freeway. We're going free. And I get in
the fast lane behind a car that's going sixty four
miles an hour.

Speaker 2 (01:58:32):
And I was like, I am going to lose it.

Speaker 3 (01:58:35):
I believe on this car and it's like I don't
want to ride you.

Speaker 2 (01:58:39):
And then you know, abruptly break or something. Like that, Like,
I don't want to be right.

Speaker 3 (01:58:43):
Behind you carry riding on your your your tires, but man,
some people just need to.

Speaker 2 (01:58:50):
I don't know, get honked that I did it.

Speaker 3 (01:58:52):
I didn't honk because nowadays people forge out and they
they're gonna shot me with the baby gun or something else.

Speaker 2 (01:58:55):
So I didn't do that. But it's so it's so frustrating.

Speaker 1 (01:58:58):
How early was it in the morning. You gotta go,
you gotta go get out of here.

Speaker 3 (01:59:03):
Just move two lanes and then you can go as
slow as you want. All right, let's finish this off here,
carry on or off? Giving back to your college.

Speaker 1 (01:59:12):
Ooh, I'm on that.

Speaker 4 (01:59:15):
Yeah, yeah, I think it's I think it's the good
thing to do. And I think also, like again, it
keeps you in good graces with the university and vice versa,
because that's the part of that university thing when they
honor you. A lot of the times it is kind
of predetermined with the stuff that you're giving back, so
it's kind of weird. Sometimes it was almost like a yeah, taboo, Yeah,

(01:59:39):
but you should.

Speaker 1 (01:59:39):
I think you should.

Speaker 2 (01:59:40):
You should.

Speaker 3 (01:59:41):
And Kaitlin Clark who's been injured and that's like a
whole separate thing that we didn't even dive into today.
But she gave the entire Iowa women's basketball team a
pair of her new Kobe's.

Speaker 2 (01:59:53):
She has a new pair of Kobe's out that are
the colors of.

Speaker 3 (01:59:56):
The Indiana Fever, and she gifted it to the entire
basketball team.

Speaker 1 (02:00:00):
That's that's a no brainer.

Speaker 3 (02:00:01):
That's a no brainer. And like I such a small
gesture for her, yes, big for the girls, Like they
will never forget that and it'll be such a sweet
moment forever, like Caitlin Clark gave me these shoes.

Speaker 2 (02:00:13):
Yes, so we love all that.

Speaker 3 (02:00:15):
