Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports. What's up? Everybody Happy Sunday?
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Thank you for tuning in on this day that the
Cincinnati Reds are celebrating snapping that Brewer's fourteen game winning streak.
Here we are NFL preseason. I am Monty Bilangos. You
can find me across social media at Monty Bolanos. He
is the pro safety Carrie Roads and you can ow
ow and you can find him on Twitter at Carrie
twenty five Roads or on ig Instagram at Carrie Roads.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Carrie, Hi, how are you?
Speaker 3 (00:31):
I'm good. I'm good. I'm a lollydagon a little bit
in here. I got in right at the buzzer, and so.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
You're here, though, know what you're talking about? You're here.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
I used to get it in time to take my
time and make my coffee. Sure, I do my deal,
but I have to rush up a little bit. So
I'm ready, though you're ready.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
You're ready to party. You look good wearing all black.
I like the all black look.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
You like the all black I do.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Sean gets mad at me, wow because he thinks like
I wear all black, and he like he refuses to
wear all black.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
He says that it's a look. He feels like he's
going to.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Serve a table like restaurant work. Really yeah, And I'm like,
I don't think that. I don't think all black means that.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Sean, you got to get your confidence.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah, we're ready to go. But you know, it's not
a bad thing that he wears all other colors, you
know what I mean. Like, it's like, okay, but he
always tells me that, And I like all black. I
think it looks clean. You know, it's easy. It's like
I don't know what to wear. I'm gonna wear all black.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
All black, you can't mess up, and you can wear
any any kind of shoe you want.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
What to is Also, if I feel a little bloaded
all black, you know what I mean? You guys know
exactly what that feels like. I know you don't, but
trust me so much to talk about Carrie from NFL
to NBA to maybe a little UFC action to Taylor Swift.
Don't you worry about it, guys.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
We've also we're gonna be talking to Adam Kaplan and
Chris Easterling, who covers the Browns, because we know the
Browns are a hot topic right now when it comes
to the NFL, so stick around for that. And we've
also got easy as one, two, three, four, and we've
got carry on or Off Carrie NFL preseason action. Nobody
cares what we do. But we'll get into why why
do we care about some things but not other things?
(02:04):
And we'll get into that, but let's start with the
big story here in LA.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
When it comes to the Rams and Matthew Stafford, here
we go.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
I mean yeah, I mean, I mean ah yah, yeah,
just because you were on board for this two year
extension that they gained Matthew Stafford, where I thought, I
don't know if this is the right decision, and I
am all about loyalty, so I know where it came from.
I just his age, his history with injuries, and not
an injury of like oh I dislocated my toe. It's
(02:32):
like no, we've got like back issues and like, yeah,
didn't he fuse something back there one time?
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Like real issues. We some weird science, some weird science stuff, right,
and his age.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
He's not twenty three years old, and this is this
is a veteran NFL player and we've been told one thing.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
And then they're like no, no, no, he's fine. He's
just not gonna practice. Oh no, no, no, he's gonna
practice this day. Oh yeah, no, he didn't practice. He's
gonna practice this day.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
And this most latest report was that he was going
to practice on Saturday yesterday, and now they're going to
make an announcement tomorrow about what actually happened Saturday.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
None of this is good, Carrie, But let's keep this
real simple here, you guys, there's nothing gray here. It
is very black and white that the Rams seem to
be in trouble.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Ooh, you think they're in trouble.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
Huh.
Speaker 1 (03:22):
I don't think Matthew Stafford is healthy.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
I think it's caution. And I can get why everybody
feels that way. I mean, if you're telling people deadlines
and they're not meeting the deadlines, something has to be
up right. But again, he's an older guy. If there
is an issue, which we know there is, you're gonna
be really careful with that situation. Now, who knows what's
happening behind doors if he's even throwing the ball, which
(03:46):
I'm sure he is. But he does not need training
camp like, he doesn't have to be out there like
in pads doing what everybody else is doing at this
moment I played with the legend, I play with the
guy that was in his old in years, in his
golden years with Brett Farv. Did he practice every day
in China Camp. Absolutely not. And so like you can
(04:10):
blow this thing out of proportion, which we have to do,
we have to discuss it. If if the lines aren't
being met, if these times aren't being met, then obviously
there is something up. But to the extent of what
we're saying and where we're heading with this conversation right now,
because I know you're coming back at me after this,
(04:31):
you just have to understand that the older you get,
you need a little bit more time, and we're not
going to rush the process. The season is really hanging
at the balance right now with Matthew Stafford. If he's
not the guy, then there is a problem. But right
now I don't think so. I think it's caution, all right.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
So you started real logical and I didn't like it.
I didn't like it. I wanted shoot to go emotion.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
You do.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
I also have facts too. I've also got facts to
I agree with you. He he does not need to
be in the pads and doing this. He knows what
he's doing.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
But the way this is the silence is a little alarming,
like because if he was just throwing it, they'll be like, guys.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
It's he's fine, we're just taking it easy. But no,
now it's like, no, we're gonna tell you what happened
on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Why are you Why are you being so secretive here?
I'm very confused Sean McVay. What happened to Todd Gurley
that one year? Oh, no, he's fine, he's good.
Speaker 6 (05:26):
He was not good.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
He was not good. So obviously that was different. That
was into the season. This is the beginning of the
season where it's like, I believe you in the.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Sense that maybe he's not completely unhealthy and that there
is a little bit of caution here, which makes sense,
his age, injuries, everything I've said, I get it, I
get it. But let's say, for the fun of it, yeah,
that he's not healthy. The Rams are in a tough situation.
(05:57):
You have Jimmy Garoppolo, who who I think. It's like, yeah,
I know he's not the greatest, but the dude can
do the job until he can't, right, Okay, yes he
can do the job. Okay, So you have him, you
obviously would prefer to have someone better, But you have
someone that I think can just do the job of
a quarterback. Then you have Stetson Bennett, who has taken
(06:17):
pretty much all of the preseason snaps and doesn't look
terrible out there. But it is preseason, right, so take
that with a grain of salt. So as the Rams,
do you just move forward. Let's hypothetically say Matthew Stafford's
not well and you have to move forward. Do you
just stick with these two quarterbacks and see what happens
and if it doesn't go well, you know next year.
Everyone talks about the very strong quarterback class that may
(06:39):
be coming with the college right going into next year's NFL.
Speaker 7 (06:43):
You have that.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
But at the same time, the Rams to me have
been saying that they want to win.
Speaker 8 (06:50):
Now.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
You get DeVante Adams, who's also not a young guy,
and also Sean McVeigh. Ever since they won the Super Bowl,
the question has been is Sean McVay going to retire?
And that's always been a topic of conversation. So if
you're trying to win now, you've got to make a move, Carrie,
So is the move to go get Kirk Cousins, who
(07:12):
has worked with Sean McVay before when they were in
the Commanders.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
I'm gonna throw another name out because I knew you
were going Kirk Cousins, and I don't like Kirk Cousins,
and that's in that system. The way they run the ball,
they run a lot of stretch, so it's similar to Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Oh, I see what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
So the long stretch runs right, So that means Kirk
got to get out and go do the deal. A
lot of play action, which Kirk is decent that, but
at his age and his mobility, I just don't really
see that being any upgrade over Jimmy Garoppolo. I think
they're probably similar right now in what they can do.
The person that I would think of is just a
wild card to bring in. I actually think they will
(07:49):
be okay with Garoppolo and Stetson, to be honest now,
just their style of play, the way they run the ball,
play defense, and the way even when they played with
Matthew Stafford last year was that way. If you can
bring in a guy like Jameis Winston, Oh, what's the
name that I see? I mean, a lot of energy
is going towards I mean, obviously in New York Russell
is the guy. He's already been. Dave Ball said he's
(08:11):
a starter no matter what, and Jackson Dart obviously is
playing well, so now they can have their backup guy
that they don't need. Jamis, So James could be a
wildcard guy in that situation, obviously, a guy that can
make all the throws. With the play action threat that
the Rams have, he can be a little safer with
the ball because you can limit his reads and make
him look the one side of the field or look
(08:32):
to the other side of the field in these design plays.
So I think that could work as well. But again
this is all hypothetical. I think Stafford is fine. I
think we'll find out tomorrow more about this situation. But
there's no rush to get Matthew back right now, and
I just hope, I do hope that he's okay, though,
because it is kind of secretive right now.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
It's too secretive for comfort. No problem.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
You have no problem with Jimmy Garoppolo not taking any
preseason snaps, Like I know, he's also considered a veteran,
but don't you want him out there as well?
Speaker 1 (09:00):
He is gonna maybe be your.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Starter, and that would be the point right there.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
So because he's not.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Playing, that's why you are holding on that. You don't
think it's a big deal. Exactly If it was, they
would be trying to get that guy ready to play.
But okay, with that, you want the guy who has
the least amount of experience to get out there. That
could be the argument as to why you're not putting
Jimmy Garoppolo out there. Sets in Bennett. Remember he disappeared
last year. We knew he was on the roster, but
you were like, where has he been? We talked about it,
(09:29):
So that could also be the end goal of like, no,
we were pushing him out there because we we think
we got one and two good point.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
You know.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
So, I truly I don't know, and I don't know.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
How the rams before because there's questions about Sean mcvahn,
how long he has left by choice because he's you
know fine, he's fine, and then picking up Davante Adams again,
it just seems like they would want to win. Now
Jameis Winston. You know, I'm a fan of Jameis Winston.
He brings a smile on my face and I think
he does that with everybody else. But it's just like
the highs are so high and the lows are so low.
(09:58):
With with Kirk Cousins, I feel like it's a little
in between. It's like the highs are not as high,
but the lowser are not going.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
To be as low.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
Well, not normally. Last year they were really low.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
They were really last year.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Last year they started well though, like he started strong
for the Falcons and it kind of just unraveled for him.
And I don't know if psychologically it's hard knowing you're
going into a season when the team drafted a quarterback
so high up in the draft after giving you one
hundred and eighty million dollars to come play. So I
(10:29):
don't know what happened there, But I I'm not against
Jamis Winston, and I feel like.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
The Giants would be like, yeah, no, you're right.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Jackson Dart seems to be doing a really good job,
looks like he could be a future for them, but
right now it's Russell Wilson. So I'm super not against it,
but I feel like an easier I still think the
easier plugin, even though you're saying it's a similar offense
that you don't think it would be successful A similar
plugin would easier plug and would be Kirk Cousins since
he's worked with Sean mcvah.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
You no question, But Kirk Cousins had an influx of
talent and Lanta and did nothing with it. Right, So
if you look at Atlanta's offense and you look at
the Rams offense with the skill position guys, I would
say Atlanta has the better the better skill position guys
for Kirk Cousins. And so really I do well. Now, well,
now you're bringing DeVante Adams.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
And Pooka and Pooka you've got that's who else and.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Kynrick Williams, which they're running right, But I mean, are
their skill positions at the receivers and Atlanta you had,
you know, you had Pitts, who was go ahead?
Speaker 1 (11:27):
No, yeah, I hear you. And you're gonna bring up
Kyle Pitts not just like, okay, are we still just
holding on for hope for college?
Speaker 3 (11:33):
I am, yes, as you can see yes, I am.
And again and now we talk about Kyle Pitts. It's
supposed to be a bigger deal this year. Michael Pennick
said he's going to be one of my main guys.
So yeah, this is this is Pitt's here, this is he.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
It better be because if I pick him up in
my fantasy and he is not delivering, I'm gonna get mad.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Even though I've had him before and he's been fine,
it's just the hope has been there. They're like, Oh,
this year he's gonna jump, and he just hasn't he
just had so just yeah, I as as somebody who's
not a RAMS fan, I just s don't know how
you move forward. And I think that decision when we
find out the information tomorrow is going to be like
are you trying to win now or are you going
to prep for the future if Matthew Stafford is not
(12:14):
healthy enough.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Well, they've already already been on the record, so they
know this isn't a long term situation with Matthew Stafford. Issaware.
They're talking about next year being number one, picking ar
too many, which is I'm like, how so they're already
thinking about the future, So I'm not worried about that,
Like right now, are.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
You trying to win right now, right now? Short window?
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Yes, And I think James Winston would be a better
option than Kirk Cousins. But I do think they're going
to go with the two guys they have right now
right now.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Yeah, see it.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
Seems like they're okay right now, but the plan is
not going the way that they thought. At least that's
what I'm predicting. I'm predicting we're not going to get
good news tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
We've got to come back to I'll be. I'll actually
be in tomorrow as well, so I'll be waiting for
you tomorrow. I'll be. I'll be here tomorrow. I'm doing
I think I'm doing the doing the autocouple.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
I will You'll be on, so we will know. We
will both be in at different times, so we will
know by that and I will see. We will see
Rams dealing with quarterback issues.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Browns are dealing with quarterback issues, so we might as
well dive into that with our next guest, Chris Easterling.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
He's coming up.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Don't go anywhere. He's carry on Moncy And you're listening

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Why stop? You don't look good right now? Carrie? Is
somebody recording this because Carrie Carry? No, I thought you
had better rhythm? This ain't it? This ain't it for
He's gotta get up and kick the legs. He's got
to do something. But that's this, ain't it?
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Chris Easterling. He covers the Cleveland Cleveland Browns for Akron
Bacon Bacon Beacon Journal, Akron Beacon Journal.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
There we go, Chris Easterlinge. Chris, are you there, Yes,
I am.
Speaker 10 (14:46):
Thanks for having me on.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Oh no, thank you for joining us on this Sunday Listen.
The Cleveland Browns are the talk of the preseason. No
questions asked. What have you seen from Shador Sanders from
start to finish? Has you their opinion changed on Shador
Sanders from when it started to where you are now?
Speaker 10 (15:06):
Well, I came into I thought he was my favorite
quarterback in the draft, but I didn't think of him
as like top of the top of the draft type peci.
I thought of him as if they got him like
late late first round, top of the second round. I
thought that would be a perfect spot for him because
there's some things that I think, developmental wise, he's got,
(15:27):
you know, he's got to grow into, and I think
he still has to grow into. But I've been thoroughly
impressed with how you can see development each time you
see him on the field. Now, he's gotten hindered by
this oblique strain during the joint practices in Philly that
that cost him some opportunities, some reps, but you see
(15:49):
a little bit different quarterback each time out, and I
think that's what Lebrons just wanted to see out of him,
because you know, they talked about him, you know, after
the draft, they're like, look, he needs to develop, he
needs to grow. And you know some people organ even said, look,
the best thing for him is probably sit back, watch
(16:10):
learn from guys like Joe Black. Oh, you know, Gaven
can he picket and you know, develop his game and
when the time's right, you know, go go get it.
So I've been impressed what I've what I've seen, I've
impressed what I've heard from him. He's very I mean
I didn't expect anything else, you know, because you know,
(16:30):
but he only he's he's not look at me, raw
raw rock. When he gets find the microphone, he's he's,
you know, I gotta get to work. I gotta I'm
focused on this, this and this, you know. And that's
what you want to hear out of a quarterback, and
especially a young quarterback who's coming in, even the son
of a Pro Football of Famer. He understands he doesn't
(16:54):
know everything he doesn't know, and he's learning that as
he goes. And I think that's been the the brightest
thing I've seen out of Sudore over this process, is
that you know, he's figuring out on his own, not
you know, from hearing what Dad tells him or dad
friends tell him or anything like that. He's putting it
(17:14):
on his own and he wants to learn it on
his own. And that's been That's been really really neat
to see.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Chris. I have a question for you. Obviously we know
how polarizing of a figure he is at this moment,
but I want to talk I want to flip that
and talk about his teammates and how they have recepted him.
Have they been have they been I guess welcoming for him,
or what's been the I guess the tenor around that
(17:41):
that I.
Speaker 10 (17:42):
Mean that kind of goes back to what I was
just saying, he's beloved in this locker room. I mean
they really do like him, and that I mean they
really they They like the way he's come in and
you know kind of put his you know, put his
head down and go to work and you know kind of,
you know, come just one of the guys. And you know,
(18:03):
that's an interesting, interesting quarterback room when you really look
at it. You have two rookies, you have a former
first round picks who's trying to kind of get his
career back on track, and Kiddy Pickett, and then you
have the old Man and then at the top of
the you know, but what's the things you hear is
(18:25):
that quarterback room that guys all get along. There's just
they all have talked, you know, many times about you know,
just the the interactions, the interplay, you know, Dure, you know,
gabbing at Joe or you know, if he's ever danced before,
or you know, stuff like that. They really do like
(18:46):
they really like the kid. There's a lot it seems
that there's a lot of camaraderie, a lot of you know,
talking between amongst them when you know they're not in
on the play. But obviously you know, they also say, look,
we want to we want to compete. We were all competitors,
we all want to start. So you don't want to
get out there between the white lines and it's time
(19:06):
to compete that you know, they they're going out there
and competing, but it's with a level of respect for
the other three that are in this competition in Spaccifpia,
including Shador.
Speaker 2 (19:16):
Right, we are talking to Chris Easterling, who covers the
Browns for the Akron Beacon Journal. Chris, So we all
expecting Joe Flacco to be the starter. So let's move
on away, move away from the conversation of the quarterback,
Jerry Judy coming off for a really high year. How
do you see him connecting with Joe Flacco or maybe
one of these young quarterbacks because Jerry Judy is an
(19:38):
eye am keeping, not just for personal reason because of
my fantasy football league, but you.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Know, how how do you think Jerry Judy's coming around
this offseason.
Speaker 10 (19:45):
I've been very impressed with Jerry, honestly, and I think
once they finally put this competition when it's up, Kell
Savanski this week comes out and says, look, it's h
Black though. I mean, we can stop this is charade
that's gone on the last couple of weeks. It's going
to be Joe. I'm thrilled just to see how much
that that connection with Jerry really takes off. And it's
(20:07):
all Joe and Jerry working together in the seven on
sevens and the eleven on elevens, all of that stuff,
because I really think he combined Jerry's speed, Jerry's ability
with that arm that Joe still has at forty. I mean,
the explosive plays that could be out there for Jerry Judy,
I think are immant. I think he's sitting on potentially
(20:31):
another big year. He came to Cleveland last year and
even amongst all the quarterback turmoil, produced his best year,
went to the Pro Bowl. And I think he's talking.
I got to speak of him earlier in training camp,
but he just talked about comfortability. He feels comfortable, he
feels kind of loved in Cleveland. He feels like he's
wanted in Cleveland, and I think that's helped him kind
(20:53):
of settle in and I think that's going to pay
off and pay big dividends once you get on the field.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
This you know what, it's one of these teams where
Cleveland obviously a lot of teams aren't a lot of
people on the outside aren't really high on them. I
think they are a talented team and I actually think
that if they get good quarterback play, they can surprise
a lot of people. What's your tenor around the team
right now? The energy Obviously Stefanski is a really good coach,
and how is all that coming together right now doing
(21:22):
training camp?
Speaker 10 (21:23):
Well, I think the big question is, I mean, in
the NFL, the quarterback. A quarterback just looms over everything
so much that I mean, it's hard to forget to
you don't realize, Hey, you know, they have the best
defensive player in the game. On the other side, they
(21:43):
have I think the most underrated player in the league,
and Denzel Award at cornerback. Because I mean, you're talking
about it. I think a top three, top two cornerbacks
in the league, and nobody talks about them. I think
they got a really good young defuse to tackle and
Mason Graham and a really good young linebacker and Carson
(22:04):
Schweissinger in the draft. I think this defense, you got
Jim Schwartz and just turning guys like Miles and Mason
Graham and and and Elik Collens. Those guys loose on
the defensive. Bront I think it starts with that defense,
really and that defense, much like a couple of years ago,
has a chance to be really special, and it is special.
(22:26):
I think this offense has enough pieces that, especially if
you get to play from Joe, Joe can still you know,
he doesn't have to be you know, he does have
to be elite. He just has to be just to
be good. He just has to take here the football
and they beat Joe Blackhouse.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
Yeah, totally.
Speaker 10 (22:45):
I think you gotta you have a chance for this
team to surprise, but I mean it's got to come together.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
I mean we got to see it on the field exactly.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
We're looking forward to see what happens with the Browns
because there there is definitely high potential there.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Chris, they can so much for joining us.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Would love to talk to talk to you once the
season gets started, so we will be in touch.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Thanks Chris.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
That is Chris Easterling and you can find him on
Twitter x at c Easterling. Just the way it sounds
a b jay. He covers the Browns for Akron Bacon Journal.
Akron Akron, Akron Akron. I said it right the first time.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Yeah, not bacon, not bacon, I say Bacon Journal.
Speaker 6 (23:30):
You guys, guys, you did.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Say Krispy Bacon.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
Yeah, Krispy Bacon, chicken tenders.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
I'm hungry, you guys, I am veggie something.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Akron Beacon. That's not it is that it Akron Beacon.
Speaker 9 (23:44):
Guys.
Speaker 10 (23:44):
There we go.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
That is Chris Sterling.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Chris. Uh, you know he made some good points.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
It's like we're all focusing on on the quarterback situation,
which obviously so, but there's so many other parts of
this team that can be good. And same thing with
like we talked about Jimmy Garoppol, It's like he can
do the job. Joe Flacco can do the job.
Speaker 1 (24:03):
We know that. Yeah, Like you know, it's like EF
everything else comes together.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Yeah, the Brown's good.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Surprise you.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
Yeah, the Browns I talked about all the time, you
know when we talked to that more we talk to
anybody like I. People just forget how dominant of a
defense they were two years ago and even last year
they when James started playing, the energy from the defense
picked up again and they were competitive and they were
writing a lot of these games. And so if they
get steady quarterback played, this team isn't a pushover. So
(24:30):
it's gonna be that. That division's crazy.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
It is crazy. It is crazy.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
What is also crazy is what's going on in LA
because I think the Padres have scored. Let's check in
with what's going on in baseball and so much more
with our producer Slash News anchor Chris Perfect, Chris.
Speaker 11 (24:46):
Slash Weird Guy Slash I don't know. I wear so
many hats.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
I just said, Akron, you're good. Are you're fine? Listen?
Yeah you're fine. Yeah, you're fine. I just said, so
you're good, don't worry about it.
Speaker 12 (25:00):
And all right, let's talk about what's going on in
baseball first before we get some NFL news. As you mentioned,
those Dodgers and Padres going back and forth, currently four
to two Dodgers in the top of the fifth inning
right now.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
If there has been a score update, I haven't seen
it just yet.
Speaker 12 (25:17):
But big news for the MLB is the Red snap
the franchise record fourteen game win streak of the Brewers.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
Things.
Speaker 12 (25:25):
We'll walk off Austin Hayes RBI single in the tenth
inning that is three to two to Cincinnati. Jerkson Profar
has smacked a two run home run as the Braves
come back to beat the Guardians five four, and the
Orioles crushed the Houston Astros twelve zero. Major NFL preseason,
we saw the Jaguars and Saints battle to my favorite
(25:46):
thing of all time, a seventeen all tie. However, Saints
rookie quarterback Tyler Schuck we got to see him here.
He went nine of twenty I can speak. I can
speak nine of twelve for sixty six yards. Other NFL news,
the Eagles trade for Texans wide receiver John Metchi. Mechi
was drafted in the second round of the twenty twenty
two season, but missed his rookie year after being diagnosed
(26:09):
with leukemia.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Texans received he Titan.
Speaker 12 (26:12):
Harrison Bryant from the Eagles, and both teams are swapping
Day three draft picks, and the Cincinnati Bengals are now
listening to trade requests or R bowler Trey Hendrickson. This
coming after reports that contract talks are at an impasse
between the pro bowler and his team.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Monsey and Kerry back to you.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Is it an EmPATH or impasse? Now, I'm all confus.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
Seeing see this.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
This is what I get.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
It's my phone. I grew up.
Speaker 12 (26:40):
When I grew up, someone showed BE the word shaman
one time, and I always kept saying it's shaman. And
now I just look at Shay and I think of
that a lot of times.
Speaker 1 (26:50):

Speaker 1 (27:08):
I didn't tell you were going to talk about this, Carrie.
It's not a bad thing. It's actually a good story
about the Yankees.
Speaker 7 (27:13):
I know.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
I haven't given you anything good, No, none of them.
They're not that a big fat zero, even though did
they lose, did they win? They won any they won.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
Three?
Speaker 11 (27:26):
Yes, yes, the Yankees did beat the Cardinals eight to four.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
No problem. No, that's I don't even care about that score,
if I'm being honest. But I have to give credit
where credit.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
Is due, because a lot of people, you know, they
they talk a lot, but they don't back it up
with their actions or it's literally all talk, no action.
Jazz Chisholm Junior deserves a lot of credit that I
don't even I heard the story today, earlier today, and
I just was surprised of the wholesome in it.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
Jazz Chisholm.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Apparently you know right now, it's like the kids are
going to these games, it's like the special time in
baseball where all the kids are going they play with
fun gloves that are painted and all this fun stuff.
So a year ago, Jazz Chisholm Junior met a young
kid young twelve thirteen years old and kind of took
him on as a big brother. And I use him
quotes because I think at the beginning they thought, yeah, okay,
(28:22):
you're gonna be a big brother. This story has now
come out that a year later, Jazz Chislm has one
hundred percent delivered on being a big brother to this kid,
and not just by sending him free stuff, No, spends
quality time with the kid and the kid's parents. So
then if you guys look up this story, Jazz Chislm
(28:42):
is like, yeah, no, whatever he needs he wants. He
wants shoes, I send it to him. He needs a
new glove, I got him. Does he need a new bat,
No problem. But he's not just doing that. He like
flew out the kid and his parents to Vegas to
see Formula one racing when they were doing it over there,
and one of the things that they said in this video,
it's like every time, anytime Josh Chishlm is going to
see this young boy by the name and I'm gonna
(29:04):
get it to you in just one segundo.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
I'll get to you in a second.
Speaker 2 (29:08):
But whenever he sees this young kid, he spends at
least twenty four hours with him. Russell McKee spends at
least twenty four hours with him, mentoring him, helping him.
Just you're a baseball player and this kid his favorite
player was Josh Chism. Junr got to meet him, got nervous,
and then Chisholm literally was like, I got you, buddy,
Let's do this. There's so many people who have the
(29:30):
power to change people's lives by not doing a lot,
and they don't. Yep, this is one of those situations
where it's like he actually is putting in a little
bit more of the basic work of just sending a
free item, which anyone can do.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
Yeah, I love it. I love stories like this. We
live in a society where all the negative things get
covered yes at nauseum, you know what I mean. And
when you have good, feel good stories, where you have
feel good stories and people doing good things for people
that they you don't have to do. I mean, Jazz
Chism is a busy guy. He's playing a whole bunch
(30:04):
of games right now, for the ang for the Yankees.
He has a lot of other requirements. So the fact
that he's you know, found some love for this kid.
What's his name again, it is Russell McKey, for Russell Mickey.
I mean, it's a beautiful thing. I love the mentoring
part of it. I always did that when I played,
as well as far as it's like going the extra
mile to try to make someone smile or give a
(30:27):
fan of gloves that came to a game that may
never come to a game again, or have those opportunities.
I mean, you just don't know how heartwarming and how
instrumental you can be in the in the development of
some of these young men, young kids, young young children's lives.
And so whenever you see it and it's genuine like
this seems to be my hat goes off to.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
Jazzis absolutely because I again, it could all have been surfaced.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
Oh yeah, dude, I'll send you some tickets.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
I'll do this, sure, but you're spending actual time and
like you don't know what that's that is due over
the development of this kid, who is now twelve years old,
was eleven last year during the Little League Classic is
when they met and it was his favorite player.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
And so because it's like what.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
You know in Cinderella, the movie, the real one, not
the one with the animated one, the mom says like
they're like, there is so much power and kindness. You
have so much power just being kind and people don't
realize that and what.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
It can do when you have the power to.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
To influence a young kid to be a good guy,
you know what I mean. And this is a kid
who his parents are around, like the parents are in
the video, and they're like, Justism's great, like he has
been awesome, you know, like you sometimes like I feel
like kids who are who don't you know you hear
about make a wish kids and all that. This doesn't
seem like it was planned. It just seems like it happened.
(31:48):
And now Jazz Chisholm is kind of like living up
to it and then some.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
And the crazy part about those situations is as much
joy and as much time and affection and direct I'm
sure that Jazz is give given this kid, the kid's
given him that same thing back. And so that's the
part about mentoring and being invested in something outside of yourself,
bigger than yourself. The reward you get just from that
(32:15):
other person's joy and that affection it rubs you to
a point where you go out and you feel that
same energy and so you can feel that chemistry building
on a natural like a natural plane. That's such a
beautiful thing.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
And then when you're happy, like you release your own endorphins,
like just in Junior has to feel good about this
or he right, and then that translates to the field.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
Yes, and it's so it's such a sweet thing to see.
They even talk about the kid is like yeah, I'll
call him and he answers my call, he answers my
face times and if he can't answer, he'll call me
back like that.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
That is so refreshing and sweet to hear, because again,
anyone could do this like right, and any of us
can do that. I even think about, like me where
it's like all right, if I if I can donate money,
which is what means twenty dollars to me, to some
people means a lot more like the twenty bucks for
me doesn't affect me. And I'm using that because I
know for somebody, like you know, somebody famous and rich
like Taylor Swift is like I could probably give you.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
One thousand dollars and I won't blink. That's what twenty
dollars is to me.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
I won't blink if I donate twenty dollars to something
and I try to do it because I know somebody
else can benefit from that.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
So it's just like, it doesn't it doesn't take a lot,
and you.
Speaker 2 (33:22):
Can literally change someone's lives without someone's life without relieving
knowing it.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
Yeah, the time, the time, the money, the.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
Just the time is expensive.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
The attention to detail in any situation. If you're in
the moment and you can actually give that to someone,
it's priceless, so priceless, and it comes back to you tenfold.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
Yeah, so now I'm rooting for the Yankees again. There
you go, Yes, yes, got exactly. I'm back on it.
Let's go, Jazz, I'm into it.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
You know, streaming is not always a bad thing. Carry
but sometimes it is. We're going to dive into that.
Don't go anywhere. He's carry on and this is Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to listen.
Speaker 1 (34:12):
Live all right now, you have better rhythm. Carry here,
not in the last one.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
He's getting it. It is Sunday. We are at Fox
Sports Radio. He is the All Pro Safety.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Carry Rhoads. I know Mary Mack is now in the studio. Mary.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
You should have seen him try to get jiggy with
it in the last break. It wasn't working at least here.
He's got rhythm right now.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
I don't think you get jiggy with you, car But
that's the problem. He thought he was getting jiggy with
it and it was not the right song. That's all.
Speaker 12 (34:42):
I think he was trying to jig and also get
jiggy with it and somehow ended up halfway between both.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
That's probably what it was. You're You're not wrong. Carry
Roads All Pro Safety.
Speaker 2 (34:51):
You can follow him on ex Twitter at Carrie twenty
five Roads are on Instagram at carry Roads. You can
follow me across social media at Moncey Bolanos.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
Carrie.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
It's you know, we are basketball fans. You and I
aren't genuine NBA fans. We have our own teams, but
we like watching other teams. And when you hear that
the NBA product is lacking, you and I have sat
here and it's hard to defend it. It is hard
to defend but you and I will watch. We are
we are the we are more than the casual basketball fan.
(35:24):
Right this past week, the NBA schedule came out, and
now I am just like you.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Know what, NBA. I don't know who you think you are,
but you are not the NFL.
Speaker 2 (35:35):
I don't know why you think that you can just
go to streaming and go to peacock and that I'm
gonna buy another subscription to catch one.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Or a few games of a team I don't care about.
Speaker 8 (35:46):
This.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Seems like you're doing it straight for the money and
not for the consumer.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
Right, I agree, I mean for us, you know, like
you just eloquently state it. We'll watch a basketball game, Yes,
we were on a random day with a random team.
What random team, just to watch the game because we
love it. But if you want to make it harder
for us, everything else in life is already hard. We
want our sports simple. Yes, obviously the NFL has expanded,
(36:14):
but still, like we know, all those spots can't compare.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
It can't compare it.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
It's already located and there's not It just doesn't seem
like it's oversaturated, oversaturated that week with the game, which
is weird. Which it's weird to say because it's the
same amount of teams, But it doesn't feel that WAYBA.
It feels like a job and you're doing this to
make it even harder. It just doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 2 (36:36):
Like you already know the viewership is down, so why
are you making it harder for people to access your games?
Speaker 1 (36:42):
Come on, man. Then you've got UFC.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
UFC making a deal with Paramount seven year, seven billion,
And to me, when I heard about that deal, I
was like, that's for the consumer.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
Yeah, the NBA's decision, that was for money. Yes, the
UFC's decision.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
That's for the concer. And I am not a big
UFC yl at all. It's hard to watch the blood
on watch on the floor, you know, like it's like
there's always multiple fights by the main fight, that ground
is full of everyone else's blood.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
It's just it's hard for me to watch it. I'm
not saying I won't watch it. I'm just telling you
I sit there and they're like, oh it hurts, it
hurts to watch.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
But that was one for the consumer instead of fans
who love UFC having to pay pay per view for
every single fight, or having to go to a restaurant
that has a cover charge or a bar with a
cover charge so you can watch this fight. Because a
lot of family friendly restaurants like chain restaurants, don't hold
fights because it's not considered family friendly, people.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
Will go out of their way. And now you have
made it easier for somebody to be able to watch
this fight at home. Good job, you have seats.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
So the UFC is doing it right, Manci. Yes, it's
crazy because I don't watch it either, but maybe now
that it's on Paara Mountain, I may turn it on.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
Oh you want to know what else they made it easy?
They may you may catch some on CBS because of
paramount and CBS's connection. Look at how easy they're making
it okay for you to be able to catch a fight.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
Even though I may not, even though we may not,
but it's easy but accessible.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
Oh accessible Saturday night?
Speaker 5 (38:15):
Fright?
Speaker 2 (38:15):
You love being at home? You love being at home
Friday Saturday night. That's right, there's a fight. I can
imagine you coming on next day and be like, I
actually tuned in for a little bit of that fight
because I was scrolling through it and it came on.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
You're right, you all of us would. All of us would.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
So it's like, I know, streaming is something that we
have harped on negatively. I've even complained about it with
the NFL. But you know what, Yes, I will buy.
Speaker 1 (38:38):
Peacock to watch a Chiefs game. Fine, NFL. It's still bad.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
I'll tell you what. That Prime Thursday night game is
the worst. Okay, sorry, sorry, yeah, but you know what
I mean, Like it's it's bad, Like they need to
upgrade the sound, Like the sound does not feel like
you're in the stadium.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
No, it doesn't matter. It's so many things that needs
to be fixed.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
And we still watch, and we still And that's the
point that you're making right now, the fact they made
it accessible and put it in the in the place
that we know and recognize, people will.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
Watch it, right, and the numbers are going to go
up naturally, sure, because you're making it easier for people
to watch. So when I sit here and I look
at the new NBA schedule, and now I have to
make sure I have five different channels, five different streaming services,
make sure I'm connected to the internet, and then nobody else.
Speaker 1 (39:21):
Is on it. So that I don't get, you know,
a slow connection. You know.
Speaker 3 (39:27):
I'm just gonna let you get all the things and
then you can take my log in and I'll take
your logging, or I'll come over, or I'll just ask you,
or I'll just ask you what happened. Yeah, I'm not
doing all that.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
We're not doing all of that.
Speaker 2 (39:39):
And the fact again you and our actual NBA fans
and looking at this is frustrating. And I'm not talking
about you're not going to miss a MAVs game. No,
I'm not going to miss a Clipper game.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
That's not what we're talking about.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
We are talking about the other hundreds of games that
happened throughout the season. And instead of making it easily
accessible to the casual fan, when your ratings are going down,
when your viewership is going down, why did you make
it more complicated?
Speaker 3 (40:05):
All because of money for you, And it's all money
always in every league, but there's also having a cachet
of knowing what your product is right now, and their
product is not the NFL right now. They cannot do this, not.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
Even sort of. No, you're getting bad advice NBA. I
don't know from who, but you are not the NFL,
and you are not the USCC. Come on, get it
together on the other side of this pre season NFL.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
What do you believe?
Speaker 2 (40:34):
What don't you believe? Why does some matter? Why do
what does not matter? We're going to dive into that. Carrie.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
No, it's only the second hour. Let's not get in
a fight. But you have to do this for two
more hours.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
What's up everybody? Every Sunday? Thank you for tuning in
to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
Carrie is calling me out. He's busting my balls. Can
I say that?
Speaker 2 (41:00):
I think so because I said incorrectly, Akron, I said
it incorrectly, that I said it right right now, said
it perfectly. I did right now, and I said it wrong,
and I blamed Akon, got me all locked up?
Speaker 3 (41:15):
Got you locked like I.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
Won't let me out? Mary, I I didn't say Akron,
I said what you can imagine, and I you won't
let it slide, and I blame Akon, locked up, locked up,
locked up.
Speaker 6 (41:29):
That's not a bad one.
Speaker 1 (41:30):
She also said bacon instead of it was bacon.
Speaker 4 (41:34):
Well.
Speaker 6 (41:34):
Also, English isn't your first language.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
No, I mean she's not. She's not wrong wrong.
Speaker 6 (41:41):
Because English isn't my first language. So like, I under
you know, I see you right now.
Speaker 1 (41:45):
I appreciate that, and I wish that was the excuse.
But it's girl. She's looking out for me. She's looking
out for me.
Speaker 3 (41:52):
To guess your job is to every day.
Speaker 1 (41:56):
No, you're right, it's so funny. I don't know. It's
just so funny. That's what he is, like talking smack
right before we're about to start. Yeah, you messed up,
you will, don't do it again.
Speaker 3 (42:04):
Then don't do it again. Why it is?
Speaker 2 (42:07):
Yeah, but anyway, anyway, he is the all pro safety
carry roads, carry twenty five roads on ex Twitter, carry
roads on Instagram. I am Anti Blanio's across social media.
Tweet at US, follow, follow Fox Sports Radio. Let us
know what you're thinking as we dive into more of
this NFL preseason storylines that we've got going on. One
(42:28):
of the ones that has been happening in the last
couple of weeks also pertain not just to the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
I know that's the big one, yep, but Caleb Williams
and the Bears. A lot of pressure for this guy. Yes,
fully fully aware of that. A lot of people remember
at the time, called him generational, not everybody. In fact,
Adam Kaplan.
Speaker 2 (42:50):
Was very I don't think he's generational, but a lot
of other people had Caleb Williams as a generational quarterback.
But the stories coming out of train camp, coming out
of the preseason. You can look at Sports Illustrated, you
can even we'll have sound of a former Pro Bowl lineman,
Tarren Armstead, who played for the Miami Dolphins. But there's
(43:12):
stories out there that Williams is struggling with Ben Johnson's
new offense, pre snap issues, inability to unload the ball,
which I feel like you've heard that before already when
it came to Caleb Williams, right, apparently cadence issues. In fact,
(43:32):
in training camp, there was also a report they had
a I believe it was a joint practice, and Joey Bosa,
who's now with the Bills, hit him, and that.
Speaker 1 (43:42):
Nobody came to his defense.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
Now, you tell me, if it's training camp and you're
in a joint practice and your quarterback gets hit, do
you go in there to defend your quarterback because you're
not supposed to that absolutely? Okay, So reports are that
nobody stood up to defend Caleb Willins after he took
a hit from Bosa in a joint practice, and then
we have Armstead sound from a joint practice that he
was a witnessing.
Speaker 7 (44:06):
Caleb's process playing that quarterback position has to improve fast,
and pretty fast. In my opinion, on a consistent basis,
Caleb was not able to recognize where he was in danger.
He wasn't feeling pressure, he wasn't feeling blitzes, he wasn't
seeing blitzes and threats pre sing out Anthony Weaver, the
(44:31):
Dolphins defensive coordinator, was able to send guys from all
different spots on the.
Speaker 1 (44:36):
Field and man, a lot of those got home. A
lot of those would have been sacks.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
So he was at a joint practice between the Bears
and the Dolphins and this is what he had to
say after. I feel like we actually don't know how
Caleb Williams is doing in this brand new offense with
a brand.
Speaker 1 (44:59):
New So what is.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
A brand new and how many series has he actually
played in a game, not a joint practice.
Speaker 1 (45:09):
Zero. He's gonna play today in their preseason game, which
is gonna I believe starts in about two hours.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
But what is it that preseason information is real or
that it's not because you keep telling me different things.
Speaker 1 (45:22):
Internet reporters, media, what is it?
Speaker 3 (45:25):
That's what we say.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
We talked about this MANSI is too much coverage, Too
much coverage.
Speaker 3 (45:29):
I don't need to know all this right now. We
will see once the game start, Like I want. I
love that element of wow he's bad or wow he's
really progressed, Like let that play out, even tearing armstare right,
like he's a good player. I know he knows what
he's talking about, but he saw him once. He could
(45:50):
have had a bad day that day. Process, which is
what you said last, which is part of the training
camp problem and solution. You have to go through these things.
And you're putting a guy that's in a new offense
that has to get the cadence. Notice what a pressure
is make sure all his players in the right place
in real time in twenty five seconds. But also somebody
(46:13):
in a joint practice throwing exotic blitzeres at him where
it's all new. And so if you were designed to
come out and try to be successful in that moment
and you have a bad day, somebody that saw that
and was covering that for that one second can say
these things about you and say he needs to get better.
Speaker 1 (46:30):
Yes, that could be true.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
In that moment, but that doesn't mean he's having a
terrible training camp, Like we don't know. So I am
tired of all the reports. I literally can't wait to
see him even play this preseason game, just to see
what he does and how he handles it. But this
is still the preseason he has. He still has two
and a half weeks before a game comes, so he
has time to keep processing and get better.
Speaker 4 (46:51):
Now.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
The thing that does that throws a red flag out
to me is the part where you talked about the
teammates not coming to it.
Speaker 2 (46:59):
That's a yeah, and I thought so too, But again,
how was it? Was it just a little bump and
it was more like they didn't go to the rescue.
We weren't there really no, No, we don't know. But
I also that was something that I was like, Okay,
I'll keep that in mind, you know, but I agree
with you. I'm like, this is all Bran spankin New
Matt Eberflus and Caleb Williams were not meant to be,
(47:20):
and whatever he learned last year, it almost like he
has to throw that out the window and kind of
start over because everything is about to change. And even
with today's preseason outing, that means nothing to me because
you know what I saw justin.
Speaker 1 (47:33):
Herbert go out for like three snaps. Yeah, and everybody's like, oh,
his first preseason game ever in his career, six years
in the league, and he's finally gonna go out there.
Speaker 2 (47:43):
It means nothing. No, he literally was there for a
series and that's it. So this means nothing. I want
to know where we're at come week six. Maybe how
is Caleb Williams moving along?
Speaker 1 (47:55):
We've heard his goals. He's got goals to have, you know, highest.
Speaker 2 (48:01):
Yardage touchdowns, Like he didn't have a terrible season last
year for the Bears, and obviously all eyes are on
him in a tough division. But I don't see how
it's supposed to click right now when you actually haven't
done it.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
I'm very sorry. I know I saw your face.
Speaker 2 (48:20):
I actually like, I know people want to get rid
of the preseason, you know altogether, Like if you extend
the regular season, eliminate the preseason at a second by
and that's how it's gonna work out. I have mixed
feelings about the preseason in the sense that I feel like,
there's things you cannot replicate with the joint practice, like
(48:42):
actual game, feel like having to show.
Speaker 1 (48:44):
Up to the stadium. I have to show up.
Speaker 2 (48:46):
I gotta put on my pads, I gotta put on
my uniform, I gotta go out there. There's gonna be
a kickoff. We can be late, we have to be late.
All of that are things to me you cannot replicate
in a joint practice. But I know joint practices are
where you learn the most.
Speaker 6 (48:57):
That's it.
Speaker 8 (48:58):
I know that.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
I just so I'm very like mixed feelings about the
preseason and canceling it altogether because I think you need
to actually go do those things right, be a real game,
do a real game, not a joint practice. But then
I get all of these reports and I'm like, this
is not telling me the true story of how Kila
Williams is evolving with a brand new coach and a
brand new offense.
Speaker 3 (49:17):
No joint practices are fun. It just breaks up the monotony, right,
Like you get to go against somebody else, even if
it's in a practice setting. You get to go against
unfamiliar foes, right, so it makes it fun, Like you
get to ramp up the competitive juices again against somebody
else outside of your own teammates. So it's fun in
that regard. Again, any these joint practices, they are not
(49:39):
empty in the clip so to speak, and what they're
going to show that team or show anybody, because those
joint practices are usually taped as well. So you don't
want to give all your things to your opponents, even
if it's a joint practice thing. So again take it
with a grand assault. And also, like I talked to
we talked about before these this coverage in the preseason,
(50:02):
it really annoys me because people are like laying their
hats on this information that they're receiving. And now we've
already heard all these tidbits about Caleb Williams, and you know,
one week he looks great and the next week he
looks terrible, and now you can't get them in the
right position to check to their hot routes. Like, Okay,
it's going to happen anyway, but stop reporting on it
(50:24):
like it's the end of the world. It's not. And
Ben Johnson's going to happen. Ready to play.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
And I think with other situations, like you can look
at the preseason and training camp and look at it
more closely and think it relates or it shows the
right picture. But with them when everything is brand new,
I don't think it's fair. We're not talking about the
bills here and what Josh Allen looks like. We're talking
about a guy literally starting over. Everything is going to change.
(50:49):
What about Ben Johnson, his new coach. He didn't say
anything bad, but he did address the accuracy stuff. You know,
he's trying to get to seventy percent accuracy. It is
one of the things Caleb Williams has mentioned.
Speaker 1 (51:00):
In last year, sixty two point five percent of his
passes were completed, so he's trying to reach the seventy
And Ben Johnson did come out this week, this past
week whatever, and didn't say anything bad, but he also
said he's not there. His accuracy is not there.
Speaker 2 (51:15):
Does it mean more coming from his new coach, of course,
versus reading just a report of people watching trading.
Speaker 3 (51:21):
Can on hundred percent, But also the accuracy accuracy issues
isn't because he's not accurate. It's right now because he's
he's still getting it's communication, guessing thing and processing and
so not just him, but his teammates. He has to
trust where his teammates are going to be too. It's
so much that goes into these things where you can
just say, oh, he's not accurate. Sure if he's not accurate,
and his head coach says that, I'm going to trust that.
(51:43):
But when you're watching in the game. There was a
game the game yesterday with Cleveland and Dylan Gabriel when
he threw the interception. Yes, that's not even his fault,
thought right, right, but it counts against him, and everybody's oh,
he threw interceptions. He's got to be better. No, the
receiver's got to be better. If you watch it, if
you wear the apartment, you watched that play the space
and it's horrible, awful. So all this stuff is going
to get worked out right now. And if it's not,
(52:04):
those guys won't be playing in the game, so it
will be different.
Speaker 1 (52:09):
A bought up. I didn't know this is going to
do that. Man, what what are you expecting?
Speaker 3 (52:13):
Though?
Speaker 2 (52:14):
For the Bears and Caleb Williams. Do you think this
is going to be the beginning of a good career
for Caleb Williams? Like I kind of am not even
counting his rookie year.
Speaker 1 (52:23):
If I'm being completely honest, because of the situation that
he was in the Bears did not Matt Eberfluss was
never gonna be there past that first year.
Speaker 3 (52:30):
No count it. He had thirty one hundred yards or
something like that. Yeah, twenty one touch now, nine interceptions
for a rookie. That's a really good season. So the
emphasis on him being a bad quarterback or struggling quarterback,
it's not even a real narrative.
Speaker 4 (52:45):
I like that.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
This is not so we'll we'll see how he progresses.
But he didn't have a bad year last year.
Speaker 1 (52:51):
No, No, he didn't.
Speaker 2 (52:51):
And when I met that, I was like, I mean right,
sound was like, I'm not even gonna count it. And
just because I think we're about to see a different
Caleb Willis. Yes, and so to parent which his rookie year,
I'm never I don't think we're gonna do that anymore.
It's gonna be it's a brand new Caleb Williams, a
brand new offense coming to the Bears, and the Bears
do have a lot of pressure.
Speaker 1 (53:10):
They do as a team. They do not just skleb Willis.
Speaker 3 (53:14):
Yeah, it's a lot more than him. Yes, we got
a new head coach. That's coming in. I have a
team that I think is really talented and has a
chance to compete, but in a crazy, crazy division too,
So we'll see what happens.
Speaker 2 (53:27):
And we're going to dive more into this division later on.
So if you're interested in that division, we've got more
to talk about. But on the other side of this,
we're actually going to talk to our NFL insider, Adam Kaplan,
who covers the Eagles. Eagles made a trade today. Wonder
what Adam thinks of that. Don't go anywhere. He's carrying
on Sie And this is.
Speaker 1 (53:45):
Fox Sports Radio, and I want to take you back
to the spot, Mary Mac. The fact that you know
this song. I was little carry was a grown ass man.
Speaker 6 (54:02):
We watched the episode. That's why I remembered it.
Speaker 1 (54:04):
I was like I was in the club with them.
Speaker 6 (54:07):
I was a Big one twelve. I'm still a Big
one twelve fan. Oh absolutely twelve classic.
Speaker 2 (54:12):
But this song, Thank you Mary for bringing it back
into my life. I'm about to add this to my
playlist to run.
Speaker 3 (54:19):
I was in high school with big, big jeans and
the white T shirt.
Speaker 6 (54:22):
Again, this is Anko Jeans.
Speaker 1 (54:26):
Fox Sports Sunday. Thanks for tuning in. Guys. He's all
pro safety carry roads.
Speaker 2 (54:30):
I am Monti Bilanos, and we have our NFL insider Adam.
Speaker 1 (54:34):
Kaplan joining us. Adam, we missed you last week. Hope
all as well. Guy's going to be back with it.
Speaker 5 (54:39):
Yeah, I'm uh gonna round up my training camp tour
if the weather holds up. With the Ravens and the Commanders,
it was probably one more Eagles.
Speaker 1 (54:47):
So very exciting. What training camp has been your favorite
so far? Oh? Boy, I would say, I'll tell you
what though.
Speaker 5 (54:56):
This is funny that you asked that, because typically when
you're seeing the Brown you don't get super excited. But
I'm gonna be honest with you, but I have to
tell you the performance that Miles Garrett put on Thursday.
They joined practice one day and Thursday. I've been probably practices.
My first practice were early two thousands. This is the
(55:16):
most dominant practice from a defensive player that I've ever
seen at a at a joint practice.
Speaker 1 (55:22):
For sure.
Speaker 5 (55:22):
It was like I've seen Aaron Donald in regularly in practice.
He was unreal, but carry they could literally we're talking
about He beat Lane Johnson no problemly beat Jordani a
lot of left tackle. No Lane Johnson probably be a
Hall of Famer, yep, And it seemed like to be
toying with him. It was.
Speaker 1 (55:37):
It was one of these you shake your head. Did
I just see that?
Speaker 7 (55:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (55:40):
I did.
Speaker 3 (55:40):
It was pretty dominant, Adam. That's that was my whole point. Remember,
I've talked to you about the Browns, and I know
a lot of people are down on them, but they're talented,
and I know if that defense plays and Miles Garrett plays,
you know the way he can play. I still think
this team can be difficult, a difficult outing for everybody.
So I'm interested.
Speaker 5 (55:59):
I'm glad you said that. Actually, it's a couple of things.
Carry on the Browns here. Jim Schwartz is a terrific
defensive coordinator all with the Eagles, right, Yep. The two
problems that I have on defense would be this. They
lost Joka, the linebacker for the season due to injury.
They lost their number two corner, Martin Emerson, for the season.
They're talking to them. They knew that Jordan Hicks, who
(56:23):
played for Schwartz in twenty seventeen with Eagles their middle lineback,
they knew he's going to retire, so drafted Carson's Questioninger
out of UCLA in the second round. But yeah, those
injuries do concern me. But you're right, they're well coached,
they're well schemed, but let's face it, the quarterback position is.
Speaker 1 (56:37):
A disaster for them.
Speaker 5 (56:38):
I'm just I mean, I sold for two days and
Joe Flackaw I talked to Joe after practice one of them.
Speaker 1 (56:44):
Barring something highly unforeseen, he'll start Week one. But I'll
tell you what.
Speaker 5 (56:47):
Dylan Gabriel did really well against the Eagles and yesterday's
preseason and I understand the Eagles played all backups, but
the guy could show he could throw in a short area.
He rejects to be a pretty decent back of Kenny
Pickets just come back from this from his hamstring injury.
But it's going to come down to the quarterback position
for them. Do they have enough depth at receiver and
(57:07):
the offensive line? Guys, they got problems to tackle. Jack
Conklin is thirty two years old, a lot of injuries used.
The right tackle Dwan Jones are left tackle is a
giant of a man. He's six foot eight, but it's
built like a right tackle. That would concern me. All
those things I mentioned for the.
Speaker 3 (57:21):
Browns Okay, now you make me rescind my my brain.
Speaker 1 (57:24):
My job's lep everything I got.
Speaker 5 (57:26):
I hear what you're saying because they're defense, but I
have submissions to me. E they're like a seven, eight
or nine win team at the most.
Speaker 3 (57:31):
Yeah, Adam, I appreciate that because now I have a
little more insight and I can That's why I go
and I can make my pick accordingly. No, but uh,
I want to talk about another another pick that me
and you have discussed, and you know I've been kind
of high on him, but he seems he played well.
Jackson Dart and the Giants. What's going on with them?
Speaker 5 (57:48):
Yeah, he's gotten off to great start. Again, we have
to press it. It's preseason, yep. I like what I'm saying.
They've already said Russell Wilson will start Week one. I
have no information that would say that that's going to change.
But CARRY going to come down to this with Dart
at what point is it two and five?
Speaker 1 (58:05):
Is it one and six now?
Speaker 5 (58:06):
But they have by far the hardest schedule of any
NFL team for the first half of their season, folks.
The giant schedule I base strength of schedule and what
the teams look like this year not you take what
happened last year.
Speaker 1 (58:19):
I get that.
Speaker 5 (58:20):
Listen to the schedule at Washington open the season at Dallas,
host the Chiefs, host the Chargers.
Speaker 1 (58:25):
Okay, at the Saints that hopefully will be a win.
Speaker 5 (58:28):
Host the Eagles at Denver, at Philly home against the Niners,
at the Bears home against the Packers at the lines.
Speaker 1 (58:36):
Do you see more than one win?
Speaker 3 (58:37):
Wow?
Speaker 1 (58:39):
I've never said anything like this. This is so bad.
Speaker 5 (58:40):
I feel so bad for Brian day Ball and Joe
Shane and by the way they are in the NFC
hard knocks, the the regular season hard knocks.
Speaker 1 (58:50):
So oh boy, good luck Giants.
Speaker 2 (58:53):
There was a move today by the Eagles, and you
cover the Eagles inside the Birds podcast.
Speaker 1 (58:57):
Do you like this move of acquiring receiver John Metchie?
Speaker 5 (59:01):
Yeah, John Metchie. You know, it's such a shame he
you know, he had leukemia, you know, Thank goodness, he's fine.
You know, he missed his rookie season, also tours ACL
last season at at Alabama, so he's overcome a lot.
He's persevered in terms of rebuilding his career. He probably
was not going to be on the Texas the season
there he was fighting for the fifth receiver job. So
(59:21):
what they needed is they they lost Brevin Jordan, their
number two ted end for the season due to severe
knee injury, so they need death. So they got Harrison
Bryant back, who's a He's a decent backup ten and
he wasn't going to make the Eagles. Eagles, by the way,
had seven tight ends on the roster.
Speaker 1 (59:34):
They don't need seven. They don't need six or five.
You need no more than three. So it was just
a no brainer.
Speaker 5 (59:39):
Bryant's on a one year deal, John Metchi's on the
funny of his rookie deal, so it's a it's a
very minor trade. But you know, by the way, the
Eagles feel pretty good about their their death. But you
get a guy who could be an upgrade. So I
certainly understand why they did that.
Speaker 3 (59:51):
I want to talk about upgrades, and I guess the
Bengals think that they can upgrade by not paying their
best defensive player, Charginson.
Speaker 1 (59:59):
So what I hear you, here's the thing with Trey Henderson.
They want it. They definitely want to extend his contract.
They're not close.
Speaker 5 (01:00:07):
The problem that they have is is similar to what
the Commanders have with Terry McLaurin. The watcher wants to
pay McLaurin. Yeah, but they want to pay Terry wants
to be paid as a twenty six year old receiver,
not twenty nine or thirty year old. Terrey Henderson turns
thirty one December, so at the end of the season
and they have a difference of opinion of what he's worth. Now,
the problem with the Bengals is and they have to
(01:00:27):
be cared like they if they do trade it, which
I don't think they'll do, but if they do, we
can't roll it out. They have to get it at
an edge back because Shamar Stewart's not ready to start.
Speaker 1 (01:00:36):
Who's the first round pick. As you know, he started.
Speaker 5 (01:00:38):
He started late in training camp because of the holdout
and thankfully got his the contract got done. Miles Murphy
has not worked out a twenty twenty three first run
pick out of of Clemson. A lot of people I
talk to Phobe was overdrafted anyway, and Sam hubberb retired
their number two edge. So if you want to help
your quarterback, don't have him playing from behind all the time.
And Monci that's the problem with this team. They I
(01:00:59):
don't understand the term is roster building. They don't build
the right way. And then I know Henrickson wasn't drafted
by them, but that was a phenomenal tree as and
signing come up from New Orleans and they have not
paid him well. So this defense worries me that this
is another situation where, Manci, you have to wonder how
competitive they're going to be on that side.
Speaker 1 (01:01:18):
Of the football. Yeah, it's like we know they're going
to score. That's not that. Oh yeah, it's just everything else,
everything else, we're wondering. Uh, you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
We are talking to our NFL insider Adam Kaplan.
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
Two players apparently with back injuries, Matthew Stafford, Adam, he's
not healthy. And then today it was reported that Malik
Neighbors hasn't practiced in eleven days with a back injury.
ESPN have the story, try and make it seem like
it's not a big deal. It seems eleven days of
not practicing seems like a big deal to me. And
(01:01:51):
I think Matthew Stafford again the silence, yes that yeah, I.
Speaker 5 (01:01:57):
Look, Matthew Stafford has had a lot of back in
his career. What worries me is a guy thirty seven
years old and you worry about the wear and tear
in that back. Now they seem to be still confident
he'll be ready for week one, but I just you know,
had that piduroral. You need time for it to take place,
and he did a little work after it. Then they
(01:02:18):
backed off. That's a goodcern now, Jimmy Garoppol, it's a
pretty good backup, by the way, that's a good signing, right,
he too has had a lot of injuries. The Neighbors one,
you know, I know it's mentioned as a back in
that story. They're just being smart because you can't take
any contact with if your receiver, you're gonna get hit,
so you can't you can't take any contact.
Speaker 7 (01:02:34):
You know.
Speaker 5 (01:02:34):
By the way, the Giants, we were talking about them,
you know, a couple of minutes ago. Their defense under
Shane Bowen, who's a Mike Ribble disciple, they might have
one of the best fronts in football. Like, they're super
talented on defense. The issue is their their secondary is
not very good, but their front seven is really good.
And they're a team no one's talking about because we
(01:02:55):
have all the turmoil, you know, what's gonna happen to quarterback?
Is this staff gonna get fired? I understand all that.
That's its very real, But there's a lot of talent
on that football team, and they're also pretty deep at
receiver as well.
Speaker 3 (01:03:06):
Adam, I throughout this hypothetical, we were talking about Matthew Stafford.
Obviously with the back issue, I say he's going to
be fine. I think they're just being cautious hopefully. But again,
if they were to go into the season with them
being injured, with Garoppolo and Stetson Bennett there obviously as
the two options to you know, kind of play that
reliever role, would they think about bringing anybody else off
(01:03:28):
the streets? And I thought about a potential candidate to
come in and kind of steer the ship a little bit,
not throughout James Winston. What do you think about that?
Speaker 5 (01:03:36):
Well, Jamis look with Kerry, with with Dart looking like
he's really coming on here, and honestly, because what they'll
do is they'll just leap frog Winston. I never really
understood that signing. They knew they were going to draft
a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:03:50):
YEP.
Speaker 5 (01:03:50):
I could tell you that months ago. They knew that
well before the draft, that's what they were going to do.
I just didn't understand that's signing. Uh yeah, Well but see,
here's the thing, because you have to ask yourself this question.
If Stafford's not ready is a good are they absolutely
sure what he's getting back with the first month because
you've got Garoppol who would start Jamis would not come
and start. Now Bennett is in his third year. Uh
(01:04:12):
you know, we know he was away from the football
team doing some personal stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:04:16):
So he's fine.
Speaker 4 (01:04:17):
Now.
Speaker 1 (01:04:18):
I don't see that. It just what would be the
point of it.
Speaker 10 (01:04:21):
Now?
Speaker 5 (01:04:22):
Again, as long as the Stafford thing doesn't take a
turn for the worst. Now, if he's going to be
out two muchs that could Pulley change it, then then
you got to look for another veteran.
Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
Right, Well, I threw it, Carrie. I'm thinking that Matthew
Stafford is not okay. That's what I'm thinking. We're going
to get bad news tomorrow when they reveal whatever happened
yesterday that he was supposed to practice.
Speaker 1 (01:04:39):
I throughout Kirk Cousins. Maybe too much money, way.
Speaker 5 (01:04:44):
Too much, too much MANSI. Let me give you an
example of how much money do you s owe? Here
the contract's untradeable. No one's going to take it. It
is they they've acknowledged that they're willing to take on
a chunk of the money, but they will not. It's
not out there how much arey're willing to take? So
including this year's cash, which is twenty seven point five
million fully guaranteed, he's also he's a fully guaranteed roster
(01:05:06):
bonus for twenty six so he started thirty seven and
a half million dollars.
Speaker 1 (01:05:09):
No one's taking that contract. It's not happening. Okay, okay,
so that but but no, but to.
Speaker 5 (01:05:15):
Make it work, to be able to trade it, they're
gonna have to probably take on unless now, unless a
starting quarterback gets hurt, that changes it the next week too.
But on the surface, they're gonna probably have to take
on twenty five to thirty million bucks.
Speaker 1 (01:05:30):
That's just a lot.
Speaker 5 (01:05:32):
It was one of those situations. Why do they if
you knew you wanted to draft Michael Pennix. It's like
k Kirk was saying last year, like why did you
sign me?
Speaker 1 (01:05:39):
But it is what it is.
Speaker 3 (01:05:40):
It was called charity. It's called charity.
Speaker 1 (01:05:42):
Autam No, But.
Speaker 3 (01:05:44):
But I want to talk about the other New York
team for a minute here. Obviously in the preseason one
there was some I guess glowing prayse going out to
the Jets and Aaron Glenn and how that team came
out and played with a different confidence. And then you
have game and that totally got flipped on his head
and they didn't play well. Justin Fields didn't look well.
(01:06:05):
What do you what's the words coming out of a
out of New York.
Speaker 1 (01:06:08):
Yeah, it's been a struggle for Fields. It's been more
down than up.
Speaker 5 (01:06:13):
This this does concerning this is another one when you
look at his contract, guys, I mean they're paying him
twenty million this season. They owned his twenty million dollars
salary for next season twenty six ten millions fully guaranteed.
So it's going to be hard to move him. If
he doesn't play well this season, it'll be hard to
move him. I'm I'm a little concerned here. They don't
really have a parachute and you got the tyre Tyrod
(01:06:34):
Taylor situation.
Speaker 3 (01:06:35):
He's injured.
Speaker 5 (01:06:36):
Yep, Yeah, he's hurt, so you worry about that. It's
not good. Justin Fields is still very young and talented,
but he's got a long way to go. And you
got a first time play caller who they're really excited about,
a tenor aanks writer, Chimo from Detroit, so he knows
a bench on the system. But it's not good folks.
They you know, Garrett Wilson, as I understood it, he
wanted to he wanted to extend his contract because he
(01:06:57):
he played for fields briefly at Ohio State. They wanted
he wanted to play with him again. But it's not
looking good and they've addressed their offensive line problems. I'm
I'm a little concerned about them.
Speaker 2 (01:07:06):
Any any concerns Adam about Caleb Williams and him having
a rough training camp, Yeah, it's.
Speaker 1 (01:07:12):
It's it's yeah, because Ben Johnson we just talked about him.
Speaker 5 (01:07:16):
He he coaches really hard, and it's we're gonna see
what his toleration level is when when it's not happening.
Ben Johnson's got a short fuse from when I'm told
people work with him, wow, And it's not like they
have because he's just he's a type a personality. Tyson Page.
It's not a bad back case. Kennam's there for insurance policy,
but Caleb Willms has got to work here. It's just
(01:07:38):
they're gonna have to be patient. They're very talented. They've
rebuilt their offensive line, three new starters on the interior.
It's got to work, guys. I mean they They've spent
a lot of money on their offensive line. They traded
for Jonah Jackson for the Rams, Drew Dolmends a free agent.
They paid a lot of money to Joe Touney, they
redid his deal. They've got to get this thing going here.
Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
Adam, I'm upset with you though you haven't come out
West yet, so I still it's figure.
Speaker 13 (01:08:00):
I know.
Speaker 1 (01:08:02):
Just my schedule didn't work out. Its first time in
many years. I didn't. You can't do it.
Speaker 5 (01:08:06):
But I'll tell you what, man, I know Anthony who
Pierce told me this last year they're going to go
back to Napa someday. Everything I've heard is like the
Redish would like to go back to NAPA. They didn't
do it this year. That'll get me out there immediately.
Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
I'll be with my first trip.
Speaker 5 (01:08:17):
You know that that is my by far, my favorite
training camp of all time, and it's something you have
to experience.
Speaker 1 (01:08:22):
Trust me on that.
Speaker 2 (01:08:22):
Oh, Napa, I mean, who wouldn't want to go to
NAPA exactly, exactly exactly, Adam, thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (01:08:28):
For joining us. We can't wait.
Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
Week one seems like it's just eround. Yes, thank you, Adam.
We'll talk to you next time. That is our NFL
insider Adam Kaplan, who covers the Eagles Inside the Birds podcast.
You can catch him on ex Twitter at Kaplan NFL.
And now let's check in on Chris Perfet so you
can give us a rundown and what's going on, Chris?
Speaker 1 (01:08:52):
What is going on? What's going on? Sports?
Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
Is going on?
Speaker 1 (01:08:55):
Sports?
Speaker 12 (01:08:56):
The funny thing he says about Ben Johnson there, because
I know from my time cover the Lions and Detroit,
like there was a lot of back and forth Ben
Johnson and Jared Goff, and there was a lot of
times where like, yeah, Jared Goff kind of had to
be the one to tell him to chill out a bit,
both on going nuts a little bit, but also sometimes
he would have some like crazy idea for I think
(01:09:16):
they had that like stumble bum play during last season,
and I think he wanted to Ben Johns apparently wanted
to put that ball completely on the ground, and Jared
Goff was like, no, that's a terrible idea.
Speaker 1 (01:09:27):
Let's just let's simulate it.
Speaker 12 (01:09:29):
Let's at least you know so, I'm curious how he
will be without that relationship with Jared Goff. But we've
got a lot of sports going on.
Speaker 1 (01:09:36):
Currently.
Speaker 12 (01:09:36):
The Dodgers are holding on to a four to three
lead on this over the San Diego Padres. Eighth inning,
Dodgers up to I mean Padres, excuse me, up to
bat Tyler Glass now had eight k's in five innings
of wark. The Reds snapped the franchise record fourteen game
win streak of the Brewers, things to a walk off
Austin Hayes' RBI single in the tenth inning, three to two.
(01:09:57):
Reds Orioles crushed the Astros twelve to zero. Eagles trade
for Texans wide receiver John Metch. You guys were just
talking about him being drafted in the second round of
twenty twenty two. The Texans are rule receiver tight end
Harrison Bryant, and both teams are swapping Day three picks.
The Commanders are also reportedly putting Brian Robinson Junior up
for trade, according to Jordan Schultz. So as we're getting
(01:10:20):
near the end of preseason start to see some moving
pieces for guys who might not have a chance to,
you know, make the roster, or teams that need certain needs.
Bengals are listening to trade requests for pro bowler Trey Hendrickson.
And I don't know if you guys saw this PGA Championship,
a PGA Tour, BMW Championship. Scotty Scheffler is back doing
(01:10:42):
Scotti Schefler things.
Speaker 1 (01:10:43):
Eighty two feet from the hole.
Speaker 3 (01:10:45):
He's off the green, left in the rough towards the hole,
slowly moving, now picking up speed.
Speaker 1 (01:10:50):
That's getting close to the hole, now picking up speed,
getting close.
Speaker 3 (01:10:53):
Scottie Scheffler is right.
Speaker 6 (01:10:58):
Jim Barny, Oh my goodness, do you believe it?
Speaker 12 (01:11:01):
Scotty shit for that was a long long chip in
Birdie on seventeen x a Serius XMPGA Tour. On the
call there that Birdie get helped seal a fifteen under
par victory for Scottie Scheffler at the BMW Championship.
Speaker 11 (01:11:17):
Mansei and carry back to you guys, Thank you, Chris.
Speaker 1 (01:11:20):
That's what Lebron James was tweeting about.
Speaker 11 (01:11:22):
Probably nuts. It's everyone blew everyone's timeline blew up with
that one.
Speaker 1 (01:11:27):
All right, thank you Chris.
Speaker 2 (01:11:28):

Speaker 3 (01:12:21):

Speaker 2 (01:12:22):

Speaker 10 (01:12:26):

Speaker 1 (01:12:31):
Yeah, yeah, I know. Fox Sports Sunday. Thanks for tuning
in everybody. He's carry the All Pro safety. I'm Monty Bilanos,
and it's time for a little fun easy as one, two, three, four.
Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
If you've never heard this segment, it's a really easy one,
a little trivia cap trivia since listen, I will not
take the slander right now.
Speaker 6 (01:12:57):
Because it's true talking about I make this easy.
Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
I make it fun.
Speaker 2 (01:13:03):
I'm gonna ask carry a variety of trivia questions ranging
in sports and pop culture, and he has to give
me just a piece of the answer, not even the
whole thing. And the thing is he has lifelines here
to help him come up with the answer. I don't
think this is hard. Last week, I know we didn't
do that hot. Let's make it six and a half
today the over under, so you win, Carrie, if you
get seven points out of a possible ten. Out of
(01:13:25):
a possible ten, you need to get seven. All right, guys,
let's go. We're gonna start really easy, super easy. I
promise name one of the two teams with the longest
winning streaks in baseball this season.
Speaker 3 (01:13:40):
One of them. We'll go the Tigers Detroit or wait
a minute, look at Chris, Chris.
Speaker 11 (01:13:49):
I've been mentioning them in my update I've literally been
mentioning this team in my updates.
Speaker 1 (01:13:54):
They lost today.
Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
No, no, she just said, at any point in the season.
Speaker 1 (01:13:58):
Right, but there's one of two. Yes, but the longest
winning stretch.
Speaker 3 (01:14:02):
To the easy one. Go ahead.
Speaker 8 (01:14:04):
They lost today the Dodgers. No, not yet, it's four
four tied for the Dodgers. The Brewers, for sure, Yes,
let's do Brewers, all right, I'll take that. Yeah, Okay,
is the other one twins can?
Speaker 1 (01:14:16):
I can we get yes? I just want to guess, sure, sure,
good guess, show me the Brewers that is correct? Fourteen
losing today, twinsen thirteen? Good job, good job?
Speaker 6 (01:14:31):
All right?
Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
Moving on here, name two of the three youngest NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:14:36):
Coaches, two of the three youngest youngest NFL coaches, two of.
Speaker 3 (01:14:43):
The three youngest right now, right now? Ye are you serious?
Speaker 1 (01:14:50):
You know it's a little tighter than you think it's tight.
Speaker 8 (01:14:53):
I think there's one that should be very obvious. Go ahead, Dolphins, McDaniels,
Come on, how old is he? That has to be
an honest, that's the point. It's not obvious as you think, though,
like you feel like I would say, in this scenario,
beat Sean McVay and no, I think Ben Johnson's got
to be young, Josh McVay.
Speaker 3 (01:15:10):
At this point, that's the point. Yeah, I go Ben
Johnson for sure too.
Speaker 1 (01:15:15):
So we knew too. We need two of the three?
Speaker 3 (01:15:17):
Yeah, which one Dolphins? Do you think Mike mcdoniel's yeah, okay,
all right, Monty.
Speaker 1 (01:15:23):
We're saying John, Ben Johnson and Mike McDaniel.
Speaker 2 (01:15:26):
Okay, all right, show me Ben Johnson barely he's the
third out of the two.
Speaker 1 (01:15:34):
Barely. He's barely. Just so you guys know, he is
thirty eight years old. That's what I'm saying, is it,
Mike McDaniel, I knew it. I told him obvious. I'm like,
it's not obvious.
Speaker 2 (01:15:45):
It was obvious three years ago. Mike McDaniel is forty
two years old. Sean McVay and Liam Cohen are younger
at thirty nine.
Speaker 3 (01:15:54):
McVay, wait, what yeh?
Speaker 1 (01:15:56):
What so the youngest youngest coach Kellen Moore, of the scene.
Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
I forgot all about it. He's such an.
Speaker 1 (01:16:09):
Also, okay, Mike McDonald from Seattle and Seattle.
Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
See, I don't know his age at all. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
See, that's that's why I said it's hard harder than
you think. It's hard all the way.
Speaker 8 (01:16:21):
I know he was.
Speaker 12 (01:16:22):
I know I'm not going to start walking into the
ocean when I start hearing that certain NFL coaches are
younger than me.
Speaker 2 (01:16:28):
Sorry, we're moving out of here, guys, we got we're
running out of time.
Speaker 1 (01:16:30):
I'm looking at the cop here.
Speaker 2 (01:16:31):
We're good, okay, Including the class of twenty twenty five.
Speaker 1 (01:16:35):
What NFL teams have the most Hall of Famers.
Speaker 3 (01:16:39):
Active?
Speaker 1 (01:16:40):
Yeah, like just out of.
Speaker 2 (01:16:41):
All the years the their their Hall of Fame classic?
What team has the most Hall of Famers in in
already in the Hall of Fame?
Speaker 3 (01:16:50):
I mean, I would think like Cowboys, Steelers. I'm just thinking, like,
who else?
Speaker 1 (01:16:55):
Give me three of the four teams that have the
most Hall of Famers?
Speaker 3 (01:16:59):
Cowboys, Dealers, you gotta go old for.
Speaker 11 (01:17:03):
I would say, Bears, Bears, Packers, you got Packers.
Speaker 3 (01:17:07):
I like the Packers, Packers, Cowboys, I think is one more?
Speaker 1 (01:17:10):
So we got Packers, you got Cowboys, one more, Steelers,
I think Steelers. Well, you think yeah, Steelers should work.
I think yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
So I asked for three of the four excellent. Show
me the Cowboys. That's right, they've got thirty two. Show
me the Packers, they've got thirty six. Stirling Sharp just
went in there. Show me the Steelers they've got thirty two.
The number one team, the Bears, they've got forty one.
Speaker 1 (01:17:32):
But nicely done. You got all three there, all right?
Moving on to your last one.
Speaker 2 (01:17:37):
Name four of the five top shakira songs according to bill.
Speaker 1 (01:17:44):
Yeah, hips. Is that a shakira song? Or is that
a class?
Speaker 6 (01:17:49):
It's good.
Speaker 1 (01:17:52):
Feature feature? So hipster my one? Wherever where whenever? Wherever?
Speaker 6 (01:17:57):
Oh yeah, okay, whenever wherever? Okay, I want to say,
she wolf, she might be. I can't remember to forget
you something, can't.
Speaker 1 (01:18:07):
Remember to forget you?
Speaker 3 (01:18:08):
There?
Speaker 6 (01:18:09):
Never remember.
Speaker 3 (01:18:09):
That means the video was the biggest thing.
Speaker 6 (01:18:11):
Wait y'all forgetting an.
Speaker 1 (01:18:21):
Okay, I do like yours is beating any of these? No,
that's my favorite.
Speaker 3 (01:18:26):
Hips Don't Lie, walka.
Speaker 1 (01:18:27):
Walka walk o Waka whenever wherever? One more, the one
with Rihanna.
Speaker 6 (01:18:31):
I can't remember to forget you?
Speaker 1 (01:18:32):
Yeah, that was that was a radio Okay, all right,
show me hips Don't Lie?
Speaker 6 (01:18:39):
That is correct.
Speaker 2 (01:18:39):
That is number one according to Billboard. Show Me Whenever Wherever?
That is number two. Walka Waka is in the top ten,
not in the top Wow, Waka Waka is in the
top ten, and then so hurt is it can't remember.
Speaker 1 (01:18:55):
To forget not that's I don't even I didn't write
that down at all. She Wolf it was it was
underneath your clothes and beautiful liar with beyond. I don't
even know that song.
Speaker 6 (01:19:12):
Mary, Let's break early, Let's bring Mary, Let's break early.
Speaker 3 (01:19:16):
Come on now a liar day.
Speaker 6 (01:19:18):
I forgot about that. It is a good song.
Speaker 1 (01:19:21):
But you did it.
Speaker 3 (01:19:22):
You're doing it seven guys.
Speaker 1 (01:19:25):
You were successful and today's easy as one, two, three, four, Yeah,
Waka Waka is top ten?
Speaker 6 (01:19:31):
Is so mad right now?
Speaker 1 (01:19:32):
The guy, why are you so mad? Share with the class?
Let it out?
Speaker 6 (01:19:36):
Good song and it's not top What the heck?
Speaker 8 (01:19:39):
You know what?
Speaker 12 (01:19:39):
Since Monsey went easy on us, I did want to say,
Mookie bats go ahead, home run, thank you.
Speaker 3 (01:19:44):
I appreciate that. I didn't see that.
Speaker 2 (01:19:47):
Uh yeah, a lot of her songs. I was surprised
to see so many of the other songs not on here.
I agree with Waka Waka. She also like uh all
of a lot of the albums. The Whenever Wherever album,
her first like English album. A lot of the songs
laundry service that had a lot of a lot of
big hits according to Billboard, and how long they lasted.
Speaker 5 (01:20:11):
I did that.
Speaker 1 (01:20:13):
Trust me, there was reasoning behind the madness. Don't go
anywhere diving into the packers next. Oh, what's up? Everybody?
Welcome to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:20:25):
If you are not following me Monty Bilanos or Carrie
twenty five Roads or Fox Sports Radio, you should because
I'm about to post a video right now on Twitter
X of what just happened in the studio.
Speaker 1 (01:20:39):
Because all we do here is really work hard. That's
all we do here. We work really hard.
Speaker 2 (01:20:45):
And she said, Mary, Mary, don't say that. So I'm
gonna yeah, this is it. It's coming out right now.
Dance party.
Speaker 1 (01:20:55):
Let's go. What's up, everybody?
Speaker 6 (01:20:59):
Dance party? What sad? You can't say we work hard?
Speaker 1 (01:21:02):
What are you talking about? Did you see all we're sweating?
That was that was working hard.
Speaker 3 (01:21:06):
That was working hard.
Speaker 1 (01:21:07):
For sure, that was working hard. He didn't move like
that normally. He could barely walk up and down. He
was just dancing. You know, he's gonna ice his knees
for all pro safety and Carrie Rhodes. After this little
dance party, we just had. That was a fun time.
I forgot what we're supposed to talk about now. I
just want to keep talking about Shakira.
Speaker 3 (01:21:27):
Hey, Shakira. Waka Shakira got this third hour off too,
off to a banger.
Speaker 1 (01:21:32):
She really does.
Speaker 6 (01:21:34):
Do Shakira hour all day.
Speaker 1 (01:21:37):
And you know what, Carrie made a good point about
Waka Waka. We were talking about Waka Waka. Watched the
video if you would go go check it out on
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
But I mentioned that Waka Waka has a Spanish version
and an English version, and he was just wondering if
that takes away like when Billboard does there, Oh, this
song was number one for this amount of time, Like,
does it take away from Waka Waka because she had.
Speaker 1 (01:21:59):
An English and a Spanish version. I think it's streaming.
Speaker 3 (01:22:02):
Oh, And I think it would depends on when it
was released. If they were released simultaneously, it wouldn't. But
if it came out, one came out before the other.
Speaker 6 (01:22:09):
Yeah, But I feel like the English version probably did
come out because it was the Spanish version probably came
out likely, right, That's.
Speaker 1 (01:22:16):
What I probably came out at the same time. Guys.
Because soccer very very last I.
Speaker 3 (01:22:19):
Know that's it's watched the Premier League.
Speaker 6 (01:22:23):
It just they kept that going exactly. Oh yeah, I
didn't watch it.
Speaker 1 (01:22:26):
Yeah, no, I don't watch the Premier League, but I
know about it. But I know about it. I know soccer, even.
Speaker 2 (01:22:31):
Though it's not as mainstream here in the US, but
you know, Latin countries as Costa Rica and my family.
Speaker 1 (01:22:37):
We love soccer. We love soccer.
Speaker 2 (01:22:39):
But in my last I'm not gonna pay too much
attention to I'm not gonna lie to you. Aside from
watching Messi in the my in Miami's uniform, I will say,
I do want a Miami uniform because it's pink.
Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (01:22:49):
Yeah, I do love Peak. I know that that I
would do. I would rock Lionel.
Speaker 3 (01:22:55):
Messi as your headphones are pink as well, Yes they are.
Speaker 1 (01:22:58):
Thank you for knowing it to me. All right, Back
into sports.
Speaker 2 (01:23:03):
Back into sports here, getting ready for a week one
of the NFL season. Preseason continues, training camp continues, and
one of the one of the teams that I have
just been paying extra attention to where I feel like
there's not a lot of stories unless you go look
for them, of course, because they're what's dominating is is
Cleveland and their quarterback situation. We talked about Matthew Stafford
in the situation with the Rams, Caleb Williams and the
(01:23:24):
reported struggles that he is having during training camp with
the brand new coach. And I'm over here like wondering,
no one's talking about the green Bay Packers.
Speaker 3 (01:23:34):
It's been silent though.
Speaker 1 (01:23:35):
It's been kind of silent on the green Bay Packers.
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:23:38):
Your feelings on the green Bay Packers fell me too.
I feel Carrie that there.
Speaker 1 (01:23:44):
Here's my thing.
Speaker 2 (01:23:45):
Are they are they contenders or are they pretenders? That's
where I don't know. I think Jordan Love is is solid.
I think he's good, but he definitely didn't take the
jump that I think some people were expecting this past season.
Speaker 1 (01:23:59):
He got injured early on but went back out there.
Speaker 2 (01:24:02):
Green Bay is a good team. It's a solid team.
You've got a good coach, you've got a young, good quarterback.
But I'm also just like, eh, I don't know, and
I wonder how much pressure should be on Jordan Love
and the Packers because this division tough division, right, But
(01:24:22):
I feel like it's like, Okay, the Packers, you have
to win this division.
Speaker 1 (01:24:26):
This year, you were already there. You had a really
good team.
Speaker 2 (01:24:29):
You've got the Lions who lost both of their coordinators,
and then you also have the Vikings who are now
going into a season with the brand new rookie quarterback
coming off a big injury. Yep, to me, it's like
the Packers should win this division and prove to me
that they are real contenders and not pretenders.
Speaker 3 (01:24:50):
Yes, there's a lot here to unpack right talking about it.
You're right, I think everybody expects the Packers to be
a really good team. They have changes though. You know,
they lost JayR Alexander to Baltimore. So defensively, how are
they going to replace that corner, that number one guy
(01:25:10):
for them? That's going to be an issue. Jordan Love health.
Jordan Love's health is going to be a big issue here.
I mean, we had a former GM for the Jets,
Mike Tennenbaum, come on and say that Jordan Love is
the most talented quarterback in the NFL. And so for
a GM to say that, obviously, I think we with
the eye tests. When he's well, he does look that way,
(01:25:32):
but there's also times when he looks pretty.
Speaker 1 (01:25:34):
Average, Yes, and so average is the perfect word.
Speaker 3 (01:25:36):
So he needs for him healthy and to just have
a year where he plays all sixteen seventeen games and
we get to really see who he is if he's
a leader. Now we know he can play, he's gotten paid,
he's had moments, but can he lead a team to
win a division, lead a team deep into the playoffs,
and do it consistently We do not know. So, yes,
(01:25:59):
they have the talent that division, they have the coaching
to win that division, but it's a tough division and
they're going to need that quarterback to play play like
a guy that you know, GMS are saying is the
best talent in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (01:26:10):
So we need to see that is a that's a
bold state.
Speaker 3 (01:26:13):
That's a bold one.
Speaker 1 (01:26:14):
And I agree that there's times where he looks like,
oh yeah, I see the talent. I see what you
are seeing. But last year it's they would also fall flat.
Speaker 2 (01:26:21):
Now, I obviously it wasn't all on on Jordan Love,
but his receivers led the NFL and errors. If you
remember a couple of those drop passes, they had the
third most drop passes in the NFL, Jayden Reid, Dontevian Wicks.
They did not help Jordan Love's case. But is it
(01:26:42):
Jordan Love or is it that the Packers are just good?
Can can they prove that they're not just there's a
lot of good?
Speaker 3 (01:26:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:26:50):
What makes you stand out? Because there's so much good
and in your division you've got the Bears that we
just talked about also over here trying to prove a point. No,
we're building something real, right And I'm truly like, I
think this has to be a make it or break
it season for Jordan Love and the Packers don't.
Speaker 1 (01:27:10):
Is that too bold?
Speaker 3 (01:27:11):
I think it's bold on the standpoint of it's not
like if he doesn't play well, he's not going to
be there next year. But I know what I'm saying, right, Yes,
but he's going to have to again raise his play.
I mean, are they just a good team where he
shows the glimpses of how great he can be? Or
is he going to be consistent and do this like
one of the top four quarterbacks in the league right
(01:27:32):
Like can we throw him into that category of Lamar Jackson,
Josh Allen, like bur Rows Mahomes, Like that's what he
should be playing for right now, like really putting his
brand of football on the league and see what we
got because at this point, you're right, it's a question
like we know he can play, but can he do
(01:27:53):
it to the point where his team can make it
to a super Bowl and win a Super Bowl?
Speaker 1 (01:27:57):
We don't know that yet, right. Are you a game changer?
Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
Yes as a quarterback because you cannot You don't have
to be a game changer as in your quarterback position
in order to have success.
Speaker 1 (01:28:08):
We talked about Jimmy Garoppolo earlier.
Speaker 2 (01:28:10):
It's like he can do the job, he's gonna be
fine for you, but he's not your game changer.
Speaker 1 (01:28:15):
But that doesn't mean you can't win with him. We
have seen this. Joe Flacco won a Super Bowl, like
got hot when it mattered. Yes, But when you ask
is Joe Flacco a Hall of Famer, people are like,
so you don't. You don't need a game changer. It's
just really nice when you have it, like the ones
you just mentioned. And with Jordan Love this will be
(01:28:37):
his fifth year, but that jump that should have happened
between the last two years. His numbers were down. I
know he got injured.
Speaker 2 (01:28:44):
Early on, but it was only he still played fifteen
games and his numbers were down compared to the seventeen
games he played in twenty.
Speaker 3 (01:28:49):
Twenty three, what was the stats you got him from
him from of you?
Speaker 2 (01:28:52):
So in twenty twenty three he played the seventeen games
for Green Bay, and he threw for four and fifty
nine yards, he had thirty two touchdowns eleven interception. In
twenty twenty four and fifteen games, he threw for three
thou three hundred and eighty nine yards, he threw for
twenty five touchdowns and eleven interceptions.
Speaker 3 (01:29:10):
So yeah, just kind of like part of the course,
I mean minus yeah, which is not what you want,
now would you want.
Speaker 2 (01:29:15):
When that says your third and fourth year, this is
when you should be getting in a real groove.
Speaker 1 (01:29:20):
And I don't want to not mention again that.
Speaker 2 (01:29:23):
I know that his receivers had bad drops and it
wasn't necessarily on him. You could argue their pass rush
wasn't the greatest either, but at the same time, their
defense wasn't bad either. There were weeks where we were like, oh,
packers lead and takeaways, and then obviously other teams took over.
So it's just kind of like, yeah, you're you're good.
You're good here, you're good here, But is that it.
Are you just good and this is as good as
(01:29:44):
it's going to get for the packers?
Speaker 3 (01:29:45):
That's a fair question. We don't know, and we're gonna
have to see this year. I think this year is
a big year for them and and Jordan Love we
just said it. I mean, obviously we know he can
pass the ball. He looks, he looks the part, but
he has to be more consistent as well. Turned the
ball over. That turns the ball over at times when
it's it's a little bit confusing. So can he be
(01:30:06):
can it? Can they keep him clean, keep him up right,
and can he give them that little extra that gets
them over the hump. I think that's what we're gonna
see with Green Bay because if they don't, they can.
They can finish first in a division, but they can
also finish fourth.
Speaker 1 (01:30:19):
They really can. Tight.
Speaker 2 (01:30:22):
It is that tight, and I just feel like if
you do not, if you do not perform this year
in a jump. I know that they have a new
their new wide receiver Matthew Golden right, like they have
an extra weapon that they're bringing in.
Speaker 1 (01:30:36):
They're trying to tighten things up.
Speaker 2 (01:30:39):
But based on the fact that this division is so
difficult and the top two from last year are going
into it with some questions.
Speaker 1 (01:30:47):
You are going into it with the same pretty much
the same team. You should go out there and win.
Speaker 3 (01:30:54):
I got a question for you.
Speaker 1 (01:30:54):
Give me the question.
Speaker 3 (01:30:55):
Out of those top four teams, well not top four,
out of those four teams in that division the NFC, no,
which head coach would you take?
Speaker 2 (01:31:03):
Hm.
Speaker 3 (01:31:05):
It's a good question because it's gonna this is gonna.
Speaker 1 (01:31:07):
Be like a follow up. Yeah, So I think I
would take Dan Campbell.
Speaker 3 (01:31:11):
You take Dan camp I think so.
Speaker 1 (01:31:12):
I I think he's the style of coach that I
would run through a wall for. You know what I'm saying, And.
Speaker 3 (01:31:18):
See the I say that because the guy I would
take in this situation is Matt Lafloor.
Speaker 1 (01:31:22):
Matt laflor just from.
Speaker 3 (01:31:24):
The personality he's played, He's played in big games, coaching
big he's coached in big games, he's coached big time players,
he's coached egos, so he knows how to handle these
situations and nothing for him. Balancing out for this team
and what they're going to be moving forward, Like they
have a really good defense this year and their run
game it's going to be really good as well, and
(01:31:45):
so we're putting pressure on Jordian Love to show up
because he has to. He has to be the leader
of that team and not turn the ball over and
play above what he's already shown us, right, Like those
should be the next steps. But I say that saying
I think they have the best quarterback in this situation, and.
Speaker 1 (01:32:01):
They have the best head cover over Jared Goff.
Speaker 3 (01:32:04):
Yes, in this situation as far as talented played.
Speaker 1 (01:32:07):
Because the way he's played last year, you're kind of like,
are you kidding me? Eighteen of eighteen? Remember that game?
Speaker 3 (01:32:11):
Jared Goff is great, great, But when you look at
all those four quarterbacks, I would take Jordan Love if
I was yeah, and I would take Matt Lafleur as
my head coach in this situation too. So it's it's
it's tricky.
Speaker 2 (01:32:23):
It's tricky, And I love that you brought that up
because in this entire time that I've said to you
as like the pressure is on Jordan Love and the Packers,
I never mentioned Matt Lafleur exactly because I don't think
he is under pressure. I think the Packers can have
a tear and I don't think they're gonna I'm just
saying like, let's say it all goes bad for the Packers.
Speaker 1 (01:32:39):
I don't see the reports coming out that, oh, Matt
Lafleur lost his job. That is not what I see happening.
I see a big change coming in coming. What is
that word? A big change coming when it comes to
your quarterback.
Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
That's what I would see if at the end of
this year, the Packers do not have a successful season,
and that's let's say you don't win the division.
Speaker 1 (01:33:00):
You come in second this year, not on the third, Okay,
and maybe Jordan loves numbers skyrocket and I's that's what
I think we need to see for the Packers.
Speaker 2 (01:33:09):
You can't just stay here in this slimbo. You can't
just be good, right, because then what else are we doing?
Speaker 3 (01:33:13):
Yeah, it's not about just being good. I mean the
Packers are about winning championships, right, absolutely, That's their history
and that's what they're trying to do here. And I
think they can be one of those teams that has
an outside chance of doing that if everything goes according
to plan. But it's crazy we're talking about what head
coach would you take in that division? And now I'm
looking at it again, I'm like but I like O'Connell too.
Speaker 1 (01:33:32):
Like that, this vision's great, and like I picked one
just because I do know, you know, but it's like
I do like Matt Lafleur's calmness, which is very you,
which is why you like that. I like that as well.
Speaker 2 (01:33:45):
But I like the the the Dan Campbell personality, you know, like,
but they're all good. Kevin O'Connell, Yeah, let's take them
and then Ben Johnson. I mean, you can only anticipate
it's going to be a good season, even though as
we talked to Adam Kaplan in the last hour that
he said that he's type and that he sorry, I
just saw a crash happen behind look at us.
Speaker 1 (01:34:05):
Oh that looked like a crash happened in a Rockies game.
I believe this was today. But he caught the ball.
It's a highlight, and it just looked like a rough.
Speaker 6 (01:34:12):
Look at that hit.
Speaker 1 (01:34:14):
We call we call that Keystone cops. Sure, yeah, but
I lost my complete train of thought because of that hit.
Speaker 2 (01:34:22):
The point is, the point is Packers have got to
take a big step forward as a team. If not,
I feel like you you make big changes coming next year,
and that big change would be Jordan Love.
Speaker 3 (01:34:39):
Oh, yeah, you're putting that much pressure on I just
I don't know if it's at that place yet, but
you never know. The NFL is about winning. It's about winning,
and the Packers are.
Speaker 1 (01:34:47):
Definitely so if he if he if he just does good,
you're fine. You can't. Like you said, the Packers are
trying to win as most I know a lot of
teams are, but the Packers history, we know that's for
refrainings a year. Yeah, and if he's just good again,
are you okay? You'll get it next year, You'll get
it the following year.
Speaker 3 (01:35:04):
The pressure always to go out and perform Manzi. But again,
you had to think about if he performs good, like
what's the upgrade?
Speaker 1 (01:35:12):
What is the upgrade?
Speaker 2 (01:35:13):
And that's a fair question that what is the upgrade
because he can't still be good. But I guess people
want him to be elite, and I think we're waiting
for him to reach that tier of the quarterbacks that
you mentioned.
Speaker 1 (01:35:29):
But we'll see, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (01:35:30):
It's a really tough division and I hate that I
feel this way, but I'm surprised nobody is talking more
about the Packers and the expectation for them going into
the season with how everybody else is dealing with new coaches,
new offensive coordinators, knew everything. You are the most consistent
team right now going into the season.
Speaker 3 (01:35:52):
That's why nobody's talking about it. It's very consistent, and
it's very it's not interesting. It's interesting in the fact
that what you just brought up it is a.
Speaker 1 (01:36:01):
Good flash it's not a flashy story. It's not right.
Speaker 3 (01:36:03):
And that's and that's and that's what it's about.
Speaker 1 (01:36:05):
Are we bored or are the Packers boring?
Speaker 3 (01:36:08):
No, the Packers aren't boring. I mean if you think,
if you if you think about their fan base in particular,
and you think about the lore when it comes to
Green Bay Packer fans, it's totally put that.
Speaker 1 (01:36:17):
Team on the field on the fifth team on the field.
Are they boring?
Speaker 3 (01:36:22):
They're not boring. Jordan Love's exciting to see and the
receivers are exciting. You never know what they're gonna get. They'
gonna catch the ball, they're gonna they are they gonna
drop it, So it's definitely exciting. Of course, Monty, all.
Speaker 1 (01:36:32):
Right, fine, it is exciting.
Speaker 2 (01:36:34):
But the excitement that is in Cleveland, it's through the
roof and We are gonna dive into that excitement on
the other side, Shador Sandras versus Dylan Gabriel.
Speaker 1 (01:36:45):
Is this really a thing right now?
Speaker 2 (01:36:46):
Oh man, we're gonna dive into that. He's Carrie, I'm
Mancy and this is Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:36:51):
What happened to Shakira? This can't be somemmer love.
Speaker 6 (01:36:55):
So I have a headache right now and Shay's been
singing that in my ear it's entire time.
Speaker 3 (01:37:00):
So this is all I said if I would stop
singing if she played the song.
Speaker 1 (01:37:04):
So that's why we don't have Shakira. Remember what we
told the people at the start of the hour that
we're gonna have Shakira all hour.
Speaker 6 (01:37:12):
Leave it to Shade to disappoint America.
Speaker 1 (01:37:14):
You did disappoint. It's all right. I did post the video, guys,
so make sure you go look.
Speaker 2 (01:37:20):
And I try to do it so fast that I
didn't tag Chris Perfect even though he's in the video.
Speaker 1 (01:37:24):
I've added you now, Chris in the comments. I apologize.
Speaker 11 (01:37:26):
It's fine. It is probably best if nobody sees me.
Speaker 1 (01:37:29):
And I just did it so fast. I was trying
to get the tweet out as I'm starting the third hour,
of the show and I but you're in there all good?
Speaker 6 (01:37:40):
Ye how he just ruined.
Speaker 1 (01:37:42):
Shadd No, I know Shade did. Yeah. Yeah, because we're
not listening to Shakira.
Speaker 3 (01:37:46):
I'm gonna keep singing, Mary, I'm gonna.
Speaker 1 (01:37:50):
Keep singing Summer Love. This is a good song. But
though it's all right, it stuck. You need to get
it out. Was the better song to have stuck in
your head already? It was? It was so it got
out of my head right.
Speaker 8 (01:38:02):
This was for some reason came into my head and
then I was like, Mary, if.
Speaker 1 (01:38:04):
You play it? He didn't.
Speaker 6 (01:38:06):
He said a lot more colorful language.
Speaker 1 (01:38:08):
Oh okay, all right, we get that. I like my job.
I like my job.
Speaker 2 (01:38:14):
Shador Sanders, I think likes his job, and so does
Dylan Gabriel. This whole Home Brown situation is their besties.
Besties is so fun, right, Like it's what we want.
We want a little bit of drama. We like the drama, man,
but I just don't think it's real drama.
Speaker 3 (01:38:33):
You know, everybody wants a drama button.
Speaker 1 (01:38:35):
I know you don't love I love drama. I am
all for it.
Speaker 2 (01:38:39):
Give me some popcorn and a cocktail, and I am
into it. But I just don't think there's real drama here,
you know.
Speaker 1 (01:38:47):
But we just had Dylan Gabriel perform in the second
preseason game for the Browns, and it wasn't bad. Like
you said.
Speaker 2 (01:38:55):
He had a strong outing, an interception that I agreed
didn't look like it was totally his fault, completed some
nice plays on third.
Speaker 1 (01:39:03):
Down, like how some nice drives. It looked. It was like, okay,
Dylan Gabriel.
Speaker 2 (01:39:08):
After the game, Dylan Gabriel had some comments to say,
and we have it for you to listen.
Speaker 13 (01:39:14):
You know, there's entertainers and there's competitors, and I totally
understand that, and my job is to compete, and that's
what I'm focused on doing. Of course, we're doing this
big game, but you know, it's something that I'll get
used to and just want to be the best team
that I can and create an environment where we can
all go do our best work.
Speaker 1 (01:39:31):
That's all we want to do.
Speaker 2 (01:39:32):
So that was the clip that was immediately trending all
across social media. In fact, that was here when it
came out. I was working here yesterday during doing news
updates Garry and I saw this video and I was like,
what is the question that was asked. It felt like
it was on purpose that you couldn't get the question asked.
Where did this answer come from? That's what I wanted
to know, But of course people want to go with
the story as they say. People, I say me, I'm
(01:39:53):
all about the drama, and then I was like, this
is there's no drama. He was asked about tuning out
the noise that is surrounding the Browns quarterback competition.
Speaker 1 (01:40:02):
That was the question he was asked.
Speaker 2 (01:40:04):
And then he had the response of there are competitors
and there are entertainers. Then he kind of walked it
back after the fact and said that he met the
media was entertainers. Yeah, go ahead, Okay, Dylan, Okay, you
don't think so. No, not in that moment when he
said that, oof. Not in that moment.
Speaker 3 (01:40:22):
I think, so, okay, how do you think that? And
I'll say that just just from the standpoint of because
the inside the locker room in with the Cleveland Browns team,
they're not talking about any of this. Remember, so remember
this now. So there's a bubble surrounding the Cleveland Browns.
They're in training camp, they're focused on getting better and
(01:40:42):
winning games. None of this outside noise, the competition stuff,
none of that really matters to them. Does that make
sense to you? So, like, even though outside of this bubble,
it matters to all of us, me included. Like, I'm
right in the mix with this. I want to know
what's going on. I want to know who's competing, right
(01:41:03):
like between those two for sure, because they both were
drafted same year. I've seen this before. When there's a
higher quarterback that comes in and another quarterback comes in
in that same draft, people always wonder, why did you
take that second guy? If you think you got your guy,
you would have stayed away from that, right, So there's
inherent competition that happens between that position. In that bubble.
(01:41:27):
They're competing, absolutely, So the competitive part of it, that's
what he's talking about. Entertainers are us. Entertainers are the
people that are entertaining this situation. In my mind, like
that kid's bringing the noise out, and I think that's
what he probably meant all along. Now underneath that, I
don't know, and I'm sure that's probably where you're going.
(01:41:48):
But on the surface, when you talk about a bubble
of the browns, they're worried about one thing and us
as the media, as entertainers, other people, we're worried about another.
And that's where I stand. Go ahead.
Speaker 1 (01:41:59):
So I love the way you spun that for him.
You should be part of his pr That was brilliantly said.
Speaker 3 (01:42:05):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 1 (01:42:06):
But I don't think he meant that when he said it.
Speaker 2 (01:42:09):
I also don't think he meant to to start any
drama or to talk smack on Shador Sanders. I just
think it's that as much as you want to pretend
that you are blocking out the noise and the stories
and the attention that Shad Door Sanders brings, you're you're
not completely ignoring it.
Speaker 1 (01:42:27):
And that word slipped out because he knows it. So
I feel like he was just saying He's like, yeah,
there's entertainers. Whether he means Cha Door or not, he's
talking about like the attention. He's like, yeah, there's people
that are causing more attention to be put on us,
and then I'm here to compete. Like it's I feel
like all it's saying is if you think that the
Browns do not notice the attention that Shador Sanders brings,
(01:42:54):
that to me is just telling you, no, they notice it.
Not that they're bothered by it. But that word, those
words are specific choices you could have said.
Speaker 2 (01:43:02):
That's all I think is that he sees he sees
the attention. He sees if you want to call them distractions,
he sees them.
Speaker 1 (01:43:10):
And it just it's fresh on his head. It's like there,
it was like, yeah, entertainers and competitors like that's I
think it was a whole lot of nothing. But I
don't think he meant the media at the time.
Speaker 2 (01:43:21):
I think he was talking about like his situation with
the Browns and the attention and the non attention whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:43:27):
But well, the crazy part about if that was true,
what you think it is and what you feel it is,
that means that he's putting Sidor in a entertainer's category,
not a competitor, which I don't think he would do it.
Speaker 1 (01:43:39):
I don't think that. I think I agree with No, no, no, no,
I don't think he was doing that.
Speaker 2 (01:43:44):
I think he's just saying like, yeah, there's there's someone
like we're all competing.
Speaker 1 (01:43:48):
And then some of us are also entertaining while we're competing.
Speaker 3 (01:43:51):
Man, could he could have slipped in the moment I
hear what you're saying, I get your point.
Speaker 1 (01:43:57):
And also don't think that's a bad thing, right, y'all.
Like Shador Sanders, like we see you with his dad, Like.
Speaker 2 (01:44:03):
They are all yes, entertainers quote unquote in the sense
of like they like to be the life of the party.
Speaker 1 (01:44:09):
True, And that's what I think. It's a yeah, shad
Door Sanders is we're all competing. He also wants to
be the life of the party.
Speaker 2 (01:44:16):
All you've heard about is positive things when it comes
to Shador Sanders and how he has handled himself throughout
training camp. But even though he's doing that, the attention
and the extra cameras and the extra buzz, you can't
ignore it.
Speaker 3 (01:44:28):
And that's why I wanted that's why I asked Chris
Easterland earlier about just the mindset from the team, absolutely,
because that's the other thing, right, Like jealousy happens on
that in that league really quickly. If somebody feels slighted
and somebody feels like somebody's getting more attention than the
team or whatever, like that's a real thing. So the
fact that he says they're still on board, that gives
(01:44:49):
me a little bit of a like a sigh of
relief for Shador because once people started hating on you
in that league. It's it's tough.
Speaker 1 (01:44:57):
I can't match. It's how it is to not be
liked in that league.
Speaker 2 (01:45:02):
And you're right, it has been very refreshing because it
wasn't the first time we've heard that today in other
reports that he has handled himself really well, and like,
even though there.
Speaker 1 (01:45:11):
Are extra extras, we'll just say extras that come with
Shador Sanders, it doesn't seem to be a problem. And
I truly don't think Dylan Gabriel was trying to start anything.
I just think he's like, yeah, no, we're all competing,
and then we're some of us are entertaining too while competing.
Speaker 3 (01:45:26):
And think about how one side it has been. Right
the coverage, Oh absolutely, that's probably the first time I've
heard Dylan Dylan Gabriel spinning and he comes out comes
out like shooting like that. That's the whole that's the
whole thing, poor guy.
Speaker 2 (01:45:37):
Right, And they didn't even they didn't even include the
question when this video first came out, like.
Speaker 1 (01:45:41):
You guys are trying to know what the drama And again,
I love the drama. I just don't think there is
drama because Joe Flaggo is going to be quarterback number
one and the rest of your trying to get a spot.
Speaker 3 (01:45:54):
I quick question about this to you. I'm going to
ask you. So I've heard people say, now, who said this? Oh,
I think was Rob I think so I was like,
who said this?
Speaker 1 (01:46:04):
Parker he's talking.
Speaker 3 (01:46:06):
To right exactly. He was like, uh, Shad is not
going to make the team.
Speaker 1 (01:46:11):
Yes, he did say that.
Speaker 3 (01:46:12):
That whole thing. So if they're competing on the level
of Chaduur, Dylan Gabriel, Kenny Pickett, like, who do you
think is making that team?
Speaker 1 (01:46:19):
Monty? All four?
Speaker 3 (01:46:21):
You think all four is going to make it?
Speaker 1 (01:46:22):
I think all four.
Speaker 3 (01:46:23):
It's gonna be hard to keep four quarterbacks on your roster.
Speaker 1 (01:46:26):
So for the whole season, I think they start with
all four.
Speaker 3 (01:46:30):
I think one has to go or if but right now,
if both of the rookies stay, yeah, I mean one
of them, one of them will have to be practice squad.
So that's the thing. So it's like who's going to
be active And it's a lot of questions around.
Speaker 8 (01:46:44):
In this thing.
Speaker 1 (01:46:45):
I have it for some reason. I feel like the
Browns right now don't want to cut anybody.
Speaker 2 (01:46:49):
Let's see where we are you know peak seven and
then maybe it's changes, but right now it's like I
don't know who you Obviously it's between Dylan and the Chador, right,
Like you're gonna get the backup, yeah, like you're gonna
keep Kenny Pickett, who has.
Speaker 1 (01:47:06):
That's my whole thing, Like you got fo tell me okay?
And I also and he also got Snoop Puntley.
Speaker 3 (01:47:11):
They brought him off the street.
Speaker 1 (01:47:12):
Remember I didn't even know he was there. No, I
know a pro Pro Bowl He's a Pro Bowl buler
Tyler Huntley.
Speaker 3 (01:47:18):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:47:19):
So your your problem seems to be Kenny Pickett here
based on your reaction.
Speaker 3 (01:47:24):
Yeah, because the thing is, I obviously he seems like
the odd man out to me in theory. But they
gave him a jat pick for him.
Speaker 1 (01:47:30):
Yeah, so it's like they saw something something.
Speaker 3 (01:47:33):
That's it's it's it's pretty it's pretty insane.
Speaker 1 (01:47:35):
How old is Picket? He's young? He's young, right, yeah,
like younger than Kevin Love, right.
Speaker 2 (01:47:41):
Kevin Love, Yeah, Kevin sorry Shortan Love, Yes, yeah, yeah,
Kenny Pickett is twenty seven.
Speaker 1 (01:47:47):
I actually thought he was a little bit younger. Thing
probably about the same. I thought it was a smidge,
a smidge younger. I agree with you that he does
seem like the odd man out here or the odd
ball here.
Speaker 3 (01:47:58):
It does, and it's but they.
Speaker 2 (01:48:02):
Right, yeah, right, unless they just weren't expecting Shador and
Dylan Gabriel to be as good as they're showing for
a preseason I don't know, trying to put their stock
up so in case somebody wants to make a move
as well.
Speaker 1 (01:48:16):
Yeah you know, yeah, yeah, I don't know. Maybe we'll see,
we'll see what happens. Let's check over hun our news desk.
Chrispophett started off as a producer.
Speaker 2 (01:48:25):
Was part of the dance party, even though I did
put him in originally in the tag, but.
Speaker 1 (01:48:29):
You're there, I I do, I do.
Speaker 12 (01:48:31):
Gotta wonder about this because the thing is getting a
guy to a practice squad, you're basically putting him up
at risk to being poached off off of wires.
Speaker 1 (01:48:39):
Totally so fine, you.
Speaker 12 (01:48:41):
Can't just put I feel like Gabriel is probably the
one most likely to the practice squad. It's either him
or Picket. But like I feel like Dyl, you that's
a much higher draftic you spent on Dylan Gabriel, and
I feel like someone will snipe him. But at the
same time, Kenny Pickett at twenty seven is like, that's
gonna be a go on the practice squad?
Speaker 1 (01:49:00):
Is he going to really want that? At this point?
Speaker 12 (01:49:02):
The guy who was a former was he a first rounder? Yeah,
so he was a former first rounder. Now we're talking
about putting him on a on a practice squad scout team.
That's just Huntley could probably go to the practice squad.
That that's an easy one there. I mean, won't be
there if they won't, he won't. Yeah, that's that's what
I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:49:22):
Yeah. And also Huntley will be picked up by another
team as well instantly. He's been going around the league.
But he's like a comfortable that anyone is happy to have.
That's a backup.
Speaker 10 (01:49:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (01:49:34):
So it's uh interesting there for the Browns. What's also
interesting is the team that, once upon a time in
history stole all of their uniforms and painted tiger stripes
on them, the Cleveland excuse me, the Cincinnati Bengals, who
are now listening to trade requests for pro bowler Trey
Hendrickson contract tark Talks between them and their pro bowler
have basically broken down. They are at an impasse, and
(01:49:58):
I cannot imagine that they are going to get as
much for him if he does go anywhere as it
was if they had tried to move him at any
other point where he was asking to be traded. Eagles
making a trade. They traded for Texans. Texans wide receiver
John Metchi, who was draft in the second round of
twenty twenty two, missed his rookie season after being diagnosed
with leukemia. Texans received tight end Harrison Bryant, and the
(01:50:21):
teams are swapt swapping Day three picks on to baseball.
Mookie Bets go ahead home run late in the game, Yeah,
lifted the Dodgers to sweep the Padres. Excuse me, excuse
you know what? Hey, look at this right here? You
see this right here, this says the Ken. Watch this,
watch this.
Speaker 7 (01:50:42):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (01:50:42):
I can't believe Christ.
Speaker 12 (01:50:44):
I'm not even a Dodgers fan. I'm a Tigers fan,
and you're taking this out on me. I don't even
know what's going on here. And to make things fair,
the Angels and A's were tied five runs a piece
going into extra innings, but at the top of the
tenth there was a hip parade for the Angels, and
that game just wrapped up eleven to five, six run
inning for the Angels. In in extras, the Reds snapped
(01:51:08):
the franchise record fourteen game win streak of the Brewers.
Things will walk off RBI single from Austin Hayes Orioles
crush the Astros twelve to zero, and Scottie Scheffler claims
victory at the BMW Championship with a fifteen under par
Moncey and Carrie, it has been very fun doing Shakira
and almost every other thing in between.
Speaker 1 (01:51:29):
We'll see you star side. Thank you, Chris, Chris Prophet.
You can follow him on ex Twitter at Chris Perfect.
I also have a blue sky Dan ber thing. Dan
Bayer has a rolled off on you.
Speaker 12 (01:51:40):
I see I have a lot more followers than Dan
on this sky. Oh wow, I'm not even trying to brag.
I am here, you are, I'm here on the objective
journalism business.
Speaker 1 (01:51:49):
Here, shots fire, shots fired, shots fired, worse than Dylan
Gabriel shots.
Speaker 2 (01:51:53):
I would say, I'm not gonna lie Carrie quickly.
Speaker 1 (01:51:57):
Here did you see Kazan? Yeah, and the injury, the
neat contusion.
Speaker 3 (01:52:03):
Yeah, he's fine, he's fine. It was scary though.
Speaker 1 (01:52:05):
It was I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 3 (01:52:07):
That's the thing about planning these the euro League games
and all that stuff. It's it's a lot of basketball,
and just the propensity of having having an injury happened
is it's scary.
Speaker 1 (01:52:17):
Also, I feel like he's Bambi right now figuring out
his body in his little thin frame. Now it's just
Bamby figuring it out how to do things.
Speaker 2 (01:52:27):
But if you're the Lakers, shut him down, you wish
because he's still with Slovenia. He's still with the national team.
They said he got a net contusion, he's still traveling,
he's he's still there.
Speaker 3 (01:52:37):
Oh, he's gonna play.
Speaker 1 (01:52:38):
He's gonna play.
Speaker 3 (01:52:38):
That's what he does. But if I'm the Lakers and
I just invested that much money, I make a call, Hey, Ao,
tell Luca to chill.
Speaker 2 (01:52:45):
Out, to chill out, Yeah, tell him he has an
ingrown toenail when he can't play something.
Speaker 3 (01:52:50):
So he looks good.
Speaker 1 (01:52:52):
He does look good.
Speaker 2 (01:52:52):
And that was a scary moment. But I'm just like, yeah,
he's he's Bamby right now trying to figure it out.
Speaker 3 (01:52:57):
That's funny. You like that, you like I do like that.
Speaker 1 (01:52:59):
One. We're gonna wrap up the show with a little
carry on or off.
Speaker 2 (01:53:03):
Are the Taylor Swift Easter Eggs reel or not? Carrie,
you're gonna tell me about it? Next, he's carry AMANSI.
It's Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:53:12):
Beautiful liar.
Speaker 2 (01:53:14):
Yes, back to Shakira and Beyonce. Did you see moving
in the court because I got blocked by the TVs?
Speaker 3 (01:53:22):
I thought hips were moving, thanks so much, his lips,
his hips were lying, but he was getting it.
Speaker 1 (01:53:34):
Yeah, look at you, Shay Machnard. Did I do that? Right?
Who is our producer? Thank you, Shay, appreciate you you
Mary mac on the ones and twos? Mary, thank you?
Speaker 6 (01:53:49):
Are you?
Speaker 1 (01:53:50):
Yeah? You've told me that? Actually yes? Yes, what part
of the middle of that's right? Yes? No, you did? Yes, yes, yes.
And Chris Purfett, who did double duty today, Yes, from
the Sudan So then there we go. Yes, so then
Chris Purfett, who was here all day as well. Thank
(01:54:12):
you Chris. But let's wrap it up. Oh hell bet
sanel Ah done. All right, we wrap up today's show
with a little carry on or off. If you've never
heard this segment, it's real fine, really easy.
Speaker 2 (01:54:29):
I'm just gonna present Carrie with some different topics and
he's gonna tell me whether he's on board or not
with it. You saw Taylor. I don't know how much
you paid attention to Taylor Swift in the New Heights
podcast This Sweet Carry. Did you watch any of them?
Speaker 1 (01:54:44):
Very minimal?
Speaker 2 (01:54:45):
Okay, that's fine, that's fine. I was part of the
one point three live million viewers.
Speaker 1 (01:54:49):
Yes, that was me. It's good times, good times. But
after the fact, the internet sleuths.
Speaker 2 (01:54:54):
Went in their carry, so carry on her off that
the Easter eggs of Taylor Swift performing Super Bowl sixty
at Levi's Stadium are real?
Speaker 3 (01:55:04):
Ooh, aunc is gonna say it's real? You want to
say none? I mean the collaboration between the Chiefs and
Travis Kelcey and Taylor Swift, that's been one that's been
ongoing for a couple of years now, and we would
have thought that this would have already happened by now.
So the fact that you're dropping the easter eggs right
(01:55:26):
now to make people really really wait for this thing
to happen. I see it as a thing that's going
to happen. I really do. What do you think?
Speaker 9 (01:55:34):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:55:34):
I absolutely I'm with it. I feel like they know
what they're saying, but it's so funny.
Speaker 2 (01:55:40):
The part of the Easter Egg is that she kept
referencing the number forty seven her forty seventh tour on
her Aras tour was at Levis Stadium.
Speaker 1 (01:55:49):
And then they were like her the favorite number.
Speaker 2 (01:55:51):
Her favorite number is thirteen forty seven and thirteen e
goal sixty, which will be the Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (01:55:56):
Oh my good, that's too much.
Speaker 2 (01:55:59):
There's more, but it's like it's a lot of like numbers, numbers,
and she's big on numbers. She's always said that, like
I am big on numbers, but it would.
Speaker 11 (01:56:07):
Be big, it would be would be it will be.
Speaker 3 (01:56:10):
I can't even front on that one.
Speaker 1 (01:56:11):
Absolutely, absolutely, all right, Carrie, on or off. Free food
is always the best. I'm off. I'm all, I'm off
that one.
Speaker 3 (01:56:22):
I'm free food is one of those things where like
I'm very particular about what I eat, and especially like
going to some you mean like not just going to
somebody house, you mean like out out in the like
any any.
Speaker 1 (01:56:35):
Free food, any free food.
Speaker 3 (01:56:37):
Yeah, I need to know who's cooking it. I need
to know who's making it. I need to know all
the deals before I eat it. You know, I'm very
particular Moncia, you are I'm off on that. You're off
on this point, but.
Speaker 2 (01:56:46):
You are probably on on the Brewers winning streak that
we talked about earlier today. There is a Burger place
in Milwaukee George Webb handed one thousand or not more
burgers with that. You just are like, not in general,
but on board for free food fans because of a winning.
Speaker 1 (01:57:08):
Carrie on or off.
Speaker 2 (01:57:09):
Denzel Washington's comments that unless you're a professional athlete, you
shouldn't comment on sports as someone you're working with, I know,
but see this.
Speaker 3 (01:57:21):
This is the thing. This is a hard one because
I know what he's saying. He didn't play pro either,
so he can't talk about it. But there are level
I'm gonna say I'm off it.
Speaker 1 (01:57:32):
Yes, yes you should be.
Speaker 3 (01:57:35):
I'm gonna say I'm off it because monsis right beside me,
and I value her opinion in what she says. But
there are there are things a lot of talking heads
that talk about sports, and I don't think you have
to play proto talk that sport. If you played some level.
Speaker 1 (01:57:49):
Of competitive sports sports, you can talking right.
Speaker 3 (01:57:53):
And that's that's where the lines kind of kind of
blurred from it.
Speaker 1 (01:57:56):
Yeah, literally, Danzel, you pretend to do all the things
you do as an actor.
Speaker 3 (01:58:00):
All right, all right?
Speaker 2 (01:58:01):
You know what, it's so funny that you said no,
unless you're a real athlete, you can't comment on it.
What about all the people that vote for oscars and
movies and things like that, they're not professional actors and
they're voting on that.
Speaker 1 (01:58:12):
Like, what are we doing here, Denzel?
Speaker 3 (01:58:14):
Denzel's on his reckoning on his reckoning tour right now.
He's being the old grumpy man that can talk about anything.
That's what he's doing right now.
Speaker 1 (01:58:23):
Get off his lawn, is what he That's what he's doing,
all right, Carrie on or off CBS really dropped the
ball with misspelling Michael Pennix's name.
Speaker 3 (01:58:34):
Oh, I'm they dropped the ball. I'm on that one.
Speaker 10 (01:58:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:58:38):
You cannot get your ex'es and your s is wrong
when it comes to a guy that has a name
that's spelled pe n I. That's a big that's a
that's a big no. No, get it.
Speaker 1 (01:58:50):
Right right, because it's like if you misspelled Carrie Rhodes,
that's like all right, but but no, you drop the ball. Idiot,
bad but when you have a name like that and
you misspell it that way, it's like, no one's gonna
forget it. You can't just move on from it.
Speaker 2 (01:59:07):
It wasn't just like, oh, there are certain times where
you really have to make sure you did not misspell
a name that is spelled like that.
Speaker 3 (01:59:13):
And what was the person thinking as they typed out
that name?
Speaker 1 (01:59:16):
That's what I want to know. If they did it
on purpose and they were like, let's see anyone catches
obviously because you're watching this and you're like, Pennix, it's
not what that says. I thank you. That's so different.
Did he change his name? Did he change his name?
And I didn't hear about it? Oh they took the
graphic off.
Speaker 2 (01:59:36):
Let me go on the internet and see what happened there,
and then it's all over the internet.
Speaker 3 (01:59:39):
Man, do your job. Do your jobs well.
Speaker 1 (01:59:43):
When you do, you can't rest the s for the
X in Pennix Junior.
Speaker 3 (01:59:47):
The only excess that you should be switching or have
a problem with is out in Vegas XX.
Speaker 1 (01:59:52):
Carrie will be on tomorrow on the Odd Couple. Time
will be on tomorrow for Doug Gottlieb. We'll be here
the rest of the week. We'll see you next week.
Be safe, have fun, enjoy a cocktail.
