Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Living the dream once again here on a fully loaded
sports Sunday.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
This is Fox Sports Sunday.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
And we are in the Fox Sports Radio studios. Well Vja,
my friend, we are sitting here on this Sunday, two
weeks away from the first full Sunday of NFL football.
Of course, we'll have that Thursday night kickoff to the
NFL season as we normally do. The preseason is officially over,

(00:32):
and I dare say we could spend the next three
hours talking about one particular NFL family. We could, We could,
and we're gonna spend a great deal of time talking
about that family because they certainly have a spotlight on them,
and that is the Sanders family. I know that you
were listening yesterday when I went on a I basically

(00:55):
try to explain this whole situation about Shador Standers. And
by the way, Shiloh was released today. Yesterday he apparently
punched somebody during the game. He of course was not drafted.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
He was an undrafted free agent rookie and he got
released today.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
So the Buccaneers released him after being ejective from the game.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
But we'll get to Shiloh's situation really the Sanders situation
in a little bit. But the Shador Sanders situation is
I tried to explain it yesterday VJ is simply this.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
There's so many layers to this thing.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
And let me preface by saying this, I was impressed
by the way Shador handled his situation after the game yesterday.
But this whole idea of the Cleveland Browns drafting him
in the fifth round, the Eric Dickerson story. You know,
I know Eric very well. When Eric talks about sources,

(01:59):
I trust the sources that he the information he got.
He's not going to go on the air and make
up anything. He heard what he heard and he translated
it on the air. But why would the Cleveland Browns
put themselves through this situation with Shador and then in

(02:20):
a game where he struggled mightily but had an opportunity
at the end of that game to redeem himself a
little two minute drill in a meaningless throwaway preseason game
to sort of undo all the things did he struggled
with yesterday and make it right at the end of
the game. Bench him to bring in. Of all people,

(02:44):
are Tyler Huntley, who was only brought in after Kenny
Pickt got hurt.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
What is the point of that?

Speaker 4 (02:50):
And of course he led them on what turned out
to be a game winning field goal drive. Look, you're
you're very near and dear to this.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
This is a passion for you of the whole old Sanders' situation.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
But try to explain to me.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
What happened yesterday, not only in terms of how he
struggled on the field, but the decisions that were made
at the end of that game to force him to
watch on the sidelines at the end of the final
preseason game and his final opportunity to show what he
has on the football field.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
So a lot to throw at you. I stepped back, all.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Right, Well, first of all, you got First of all,
what's up? How are you? I'm doing out standing, man, unbelievab.
How's everybody doing?

Speaker 5 (03:37):
I see we got bow eye with Sam's in the building,
the tremendous are tremendous update and anchor Monte Bilanos in the.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Building as always. So what's up everybody. I haven't seen
you guys in a while, man, So I'm just saying
hello to everybody. So before I.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
Even attacked you, see, I'm writing down notes as you're
talking and you're saying, I tried to explain this, but
you didn't explain anything. So I need you to explain
what you're trying to explain before I explain this before, yeah,
before you ask me the question. Okay, here we're playing
what you're trying to explain for.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
Okay, let's let's go back to the drafting of Chador Sanders.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Okay, you took.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Dylan Gabriel in the third round, so you drafted a
rookie quarterback that you if you're using a third round
pick on a quarterback, you are looking at someone that
you believe you can develop into a starting quarterback down
the road. You don't use a premium pick and a
third round pick as a premium pick on a throwaway.
And that's not a practice squad. That's a young backup quarterback.

(04:32):
You're bringing Joe Flacco to sort of whole place until
you develop a young quarterback. So you already drafted one
in Dylan Gabriel. Why did you draft Shador Sanders? And
when you when you hear Eric Dickerson talk about sources
that there was a message that was sent out to teams,

(04:52):
do not draft this kid. Why did the Cleveland Browns
draft this kid? And hey, we were watching on draft
day when it was announced that he had been drafted
and they showed the draft rooms and you know.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Fifth round. Ah, yeah, man, we got the guy. We won.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
It was stone silence in that Cleveland Brown's draft room
when they announced that they had drafted Shador Sanders in
fifth round. So that whole dynamic of why the Browns
took Shador Sanders is still unexplained. But do you want
him to succeed or not? Every quarterback struggles. He was
having a bad day at the office yesterday, but he

(05:29):
had a chance at the end of that game to
maybe make amends and he put him on the bench,
made him watch what exactly are the Cleveland Brown's game plan?
And so my point is this, the Cleveland Browns are
creating a pr nightmare for themselves because when it was

(05:49):
announced earlier this week that Joe Flacco is going to
be the Week one start, people.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Were like, are you kidding me? Did you see Shart
Standers against Carolina?

Speaker 4 (05:56):
He should be your starting quarterback Day one.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
No one's saying that now after what they saw yesterday.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
So I'm still trying to come up with answers of
exactly what are the Cleveland Brown's intentions and why did
the Cleveland Browns draft Schadoor Sanders? What was the purpose
of drafting this kid? If you want to development as
your quarterback of the future, then he needs to be
in the game at the end of the game yesterday,
see if he's got it, See if he can make

(06:22):
amends for a bad day, Maybe make a couple of
plays to get him to feel good about his day
instead of trying to explain afterwards why everything went wrong.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
So I don't have answers. I'm looking for answers.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
I have a lot of questions that at this point
nobody has answers to.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
I don't even know if the Browns have an answer.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
I'm sure Sadr Sanders would like to hear a few
answers to his questions about what exactly are your intentions
for me? So that's why I'm handing it to you
to hopefully answer some of those questions.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
All right, So let's start with Joe Flacco starting. Okay,
if Joe Flacco is gonna be your starting quarterback, then
why are you even playing him yesterday? If there's a
true competition between Dylan Gabriel and Shador Sanders. You split
the game with those two guys yesterday Flacco gets ready
for Week one. Like obviously you don't need to see
anything from Flacco. There's not a lot of training camp

(07:18):
tape on him. There's not no preseason snaps until yesterday,
which made very very little sense, because this is the
week you should be figuring out who you're cutting on
by Tuesday, that's the game that you should be using
that for.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
If Flacco's already gonna be your starter. Guy's been in
the league for like thirty seven years. He's got a
grandson that's in the league, I believe, like he's been
in the league that damn long. Okay, so you didn't
have to even play him.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
Yesterday, But if you guys, the problem with this topic
is people aren't being honest. That's the problem with the
Shador Sanders topic. It's most people just aren't being honest.
Most people don't want to call it what it is.
And when people do that have a bigger platform and
maybe a bigger voice than even myself, then those people
get bought at.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
So if we could talk about tj.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
Hu Schmizzada, who is a colleague of ours here o
Cho Senko, Shannon Shark, Eric Diggerson, Ryan Clark, A lot
of people theoretic, who I Lewis Reddicks?

Speaker 6 (08:14):
You mean?

Speaker 7 (08:14):
Who?

Speaker 6 (08:15):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (08:15):
I love is great football.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
I'm trying to figure out why he's on TV talking
and not in somebody's front office, which he's been in before.
Which a guy that's been in front offices that has
gone on TV gone already told us this stuff with
feelings and owners and the way they look at certain
players and certain kids coming out of college, and feelings
getting involved over what should be business decisions.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
We see it all the time.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
Jerry Jones is a guy who does this, even Al Davis,
even though he did it for the right reasons, his
feelings of the way black players were being treated and
the AFL was being treated and was one of the
main reasons why the NFL merged with the AFL was
because of the work of Al Davis, a man you've
sat next to and worked for.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
It was in his feelings, but it was for a
good cause.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
This idea that Shador Sanders can't play football is why
people just aren't being real because if anybody else could
have led the nation to seventy four percent of completion
percentage in FCS football. We would be marveling over it,
like we used to love guys like Graham Harrold and
Timmy Chang and these guys that would go out in
June Jones's offense and throw for all these yards and

(09:23):
we all know they don't have a shot in hell
being an NFL pro quarterback. They don't have a shot.
The problem with this topic is just simply this, And
I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm almost tired of
it because the simple fact that you can look at
yesterday's game and say, oh, he played he played bad yesterday.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
There's no definity. He played bad.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
But why is he out there with guys you're cutting
on Tuesday?

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Like, why is he even out there?

Speaker 5 (09:52):
If you wanted to send a message and let that
be the last shot at showing that's BS coach football, Okay,
I coach on a high level in southern California of
high school football.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (10:06):
You don't give someone a shot to prove themselves with
guys that aren't gonna be on the team. That's not
how football were And those are the words of Ocho Cinco.
Shannon Sharp by the way, I'm sorry, he's a Hall
of Famer. Eric Diggerson, Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah, he's a
Hall of Famer. Ryan Clark, Oh.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
Yeah, I'm my fault. He was an All Pro player.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
These are players that have played in this league saying
the exact same thing I'm saying. So if you don't
want to take it from me, maybe you want to
take it from the guys that's been in locker rooms,
dealt with front offices, dealt with being prejudged and being judged,
or having front office people use feelings over business matter decisions.

(10:45):
And you've been around long enough to know Dion coach
Pan Sanders is somebody. He's like liver. You either like
it or you don't. There is no middle ground. There
is no gray area. Let me just there is no
gray area. If you really want to ask people to
be honest about the treatment in the view, like like it,

(11:09):
like Shiloh. I'm sure there are so many people that
are all has see look, ha ha, Shiloh got cut
and Shiloh's not done anything.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
He's not he doesn't have to bit lead. He didn't
get a speeded ticket, he doesn't do the watch.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
But because the simple fact that his last name is
Sanders and he's Dion coach Prime's son.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
People want to see him fail.

Speaker 5 (11:30):
Let's just if we're gonna talk about this, we have
to be honest about it. And if you want to
put on the tape, he didn't look good yesterday, okay,
but I don't see you guys saying Dylan Gabriel should
be out of the league. And in his preseason debut
he turned the ball over twice, threw an interception and
lost the fumble, and no one thought or no one

(11:51):
came out and said that he shouldn't even be on
the team, he should be cut. And when Shador had
a good a good If you remember when we came
to do the show, you guys thought I was gonna
victory lap I sat right here and said, no, I'm
not listen. This preseason he looked comfortable, he made the throws.
What was my main stake. He didn't turn the ball over.
That's what you want to see from a young quarterback
is just don't turn the ball over out there, young,

(12:13):
because that that could get you cut young. But we
can work on some of these other things if we're
gonna really further this conversation.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Man, we just have to be honest.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
People are waiting for Shador to fail. They want him
to fail. He's got he's got a supporters, like he's
got his fans. But a lot of people in our
business are waiting for this kid to fail and don't
know the game of football to actually sit and think
that putting the guy out there with guys that you
are cutting today, they're not gonna be on the team,

(12:44):
and this is somebody that you're giving a shot to
stop it.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
Well, okay, I will.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
On the other side, I'm gonna tell you as you're talking,
I'm sort of putting pieces together, and it's clear there
is one person above all others. There was on a
mission to make him look bad yesterday. We'll tell you
who it is. This is Fox Sports Sunday.

a big week around the NFL. Thirty two teams have
got to get their rosters set.

Speaker 6 (13:56):
Now.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
Remember this is how it works.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
You have a fifty three man raw practice squads were
expanded last year from ten to seventeen. They actually have sixteen,
and then there's a seventeen slot for an international player.
This was a big play last year VJ where you
know they're looking for international players to get involved in
the NFL. So it's up to seventeen players you can

(14:20):
keep on a practice squad. That's a lot and that's
significant and so we're going to get these by Tuesday.
All the teams have got to get set with.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
That, all right. So let's get back to how this
week started.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
For the Cleveland Browns, it started with the announcement that
Joe Flacca was going to be the Week one starter,
and immediately those that were impressed by what they had
seen from Shador Sanders in the first preseason game against Carolina,
where he played very well, are saying.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
Who wha whoa whoa, whoa who. You're not a team
that's going to do anything this year. Why are you
wasting time on Joe Flacco. Throw Shador in there, make
him your starting quarterback week one and let him.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Let him learn.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
We've seen it before. A lot of rookie quarterbacks learn.
They go through growing pains and then the develop Look what.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Denver did with bo Niggs last year, right, No one
thought he was going to be that guy, but he
turned out to be a guy who progressed as the
season went on, ended up leading his team to the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
So that's how the week started. But watching as you
mentioned some of the play calls for Shador Sanders, remember
Flacca was nine to ten passing Dylan Gabriel looked good
in his time in the first half, and then all
of a sudden, Shador Sanders is running for his life
and under pressure, and he showed this at Colorado. He

(15:36):
struggles with getting.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Rid of the ball.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
That was a big problem from at Colorado something that
if he is going to have a future in the NFL,
he didn't have to get past that, right, But why
why are you putting him in that position? And I
get back to one guy there was absolutely determined to
make him look as bad as possible, Kevin Stefanski. Stefanski's

(16:00):
getting heat all week long? What are you doing, Joe Flak,
are you kidding me? Why does he start Shador Sanders
now again? Kevin Stefanski could be dead man Waukee. He
may not even survive this season, But right now, he
was like, I am not going to have anybody dictate
to me.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
I'm trying to win games now.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
And if you don't believe me when I say that
this kid is not ready, wait till you see him today.
So they put him in a position, or Stefanski put
in a position to fail look miserable.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
He'll be in the practice squad, and because he looks so.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Bad in that game, I don't think anybody's going to
try to jump all over Shador Sanders at the last
second and put him on their fifty three man roster,
which is the only way you can take a player
off a practice squad from another team. So I was
a mission by Kevin Stefanski to make sure to a
lot of people saying he's not ready to start Week
one in the NFL, I'm going to prove it to you.

(16:57):
And then on top of that, I'm going to make
him look so so bad that we're gonna throw him
on the practice squad. We'll try to develop him if
he has any kind of talent, but no team will
dare pick him off our practice.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
Squad to put him on their fifty three man roster
based on what they saw in yesterday's game.

Speaker 5 (17:14):
All right, So my problem with all of that you're
saying is, so now are we and I'll propose it
in the question, so are we now judging quarterbacks off
of you know, two or three drives? And now they're
they're they're not worthy of being on a roster because
they were so bad.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
Because the way you guys.

Speaker 5 (17:31):
Are delivering this is we're gonna erase everything good we've
ever seen about this kid over a situation where we
are blaming now the coach and the play calling and
how bad and we make sure we we we put
you know, emphasis to how bad he looked. And now

(17:53):
it's somehow erases all the good stuff that he did
and all the good plays that he's made, and just
like the total player in person he is.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
So I'm asking, is that what we're doing now?

Speaker 5 (18:05):
Because if that's the case, then there is no conspiracy theory.
It is what people's been saying that this has been
since day one. I understand it's an uncomfortable conversation for
certain people, But if we're gonna talk about it once again,
I just want to be honest and real about it.
Are There's no point in going over in time and

(18:25):
time again. We we it's the Cleveland Browns number one.
Let's just back up to there, a team that is
five fifty six and five forty eight in their history,
like they when have they ever done anything right? When
if they ever meant anything to the NFL? When if
they ever made great decisions? They let the they trap,
they made Baker mayfeel look bad. How's Baker Mayfield on

(18:46):
this second one hundred million dollar contract in Tampa and
people are picking the Bucks to win that division because
he got away from cleveand because he got out of Cleveland.
I mean, like, if you think about it, for some reason,
we're plays in Flacco. But Flacco is so old and
so used up and so beat down and not going
to get you anywhere. He came in and had a
spark one time two years ago.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
That's it. How do you look last year where he played?
What did they do?

Speaker 5 (19:10):
Where was he last year? How did they look? Were
they in the playoffs? Absolutely not? Was he productive? Absolutely not?
So he goes back to a place that's just bad.
Who's got two rookie quarterbacks, another top top first round
pick who's terrible?

Speaker 3 (19:27):
Right, and Canny Pickett?

Speaker 5 (19:30):
Like this whole situation from day one has just been
screwed up terribly.

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Now you're praising Eric Dickerson, I do too. I know
Eric Dickerson.

Speaker 5 (19:39):
Eric Dickerson used to do my old radio show when
I was independent. I used to work on the man's
cell phone when I used to work at when I
was a manager for Verizon, I used to work on
the man's cell phone form. So I know Eric Dickerson
as well. And I remember when he came out and said,
teams were you know it was out there, don't draft
this kid, let's start there are you?

Speaker 3 (19:58):
How are people not saying that's not right?

Speaker 5 (20:01):
You can't you can't put out in order not to
draft a kid because you're in your feelings, or you're
trying to send a message to Dion, or you're trying
to send a message, trying to send a message that
that does something to me, Steve, that does because aren't
we supposed to be running a professional business here? Why
are you trying to send a message to a kid

(20:22):
who has never done anything wrong, never gotten in trouble.
I don't want to hear about a speeding ticket, because
if that's the case, let's just make sure that we
knock on everybody that gets a speeding ticket, not just
one player. Are the players that we don't like or
we don't want to see six seed? We see this
in sports all the time. There are people that love
to watch Lebron feel there are people that were wonning
Kaitlyn Clark the feil, Like, why are we acting like

(20:44):
this is some a different situation for Shador Sanders, who
obviously can play, but once again, you put him out
there against with people I don't care who's going to gainst.
He's playing with people who aren't gonna be there. You
can't like, would you do a radio show with somebody
who wasn't gonna be in the business who just and
it was up to you. If it was up to

(21:04):
you to choose someone to start your own show at
a new network, would you pick somebody who's not gonna
make it and not gonna be there, or would you
pick someone who knows what he's doing and is gonna
be there and it's gonna get getting paid just like you?

Speaker 3 (21:19):
How would you do that?

Speaker 2 (21:20):
We know the answer though, right well, obviously we know
the answer to that.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
Look on the other.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Side, I go, I don't want it to do the
whole show on this, But there are so many different
layers to this. I mean, we're barely scratching the service.
I mean, I agree with you do we want to
rehash over and over and over again here, But there
are bigger questions. And if what Eric Dickerson says is true,

(21:45):
Eric Dickerson is going to share information that he believes
is one hundred percent true when he says it as
a high source in the league that tells him that
that's exactly what it was.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
So then why don't we take that for what it is?

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Well, then then the NFL needs to do an investigation
because if there is a collusion situation involving ownership and
management in the NFL involving any player. There needs to
be a full scale investigation, but first let's find out

(22:21):
what is trending right now. Monci, how are you today?

Speaker 4 (22:25):
You know, I'm right, I'm a right, are you okay?

Speaker 3 (22:28):
Okay? Yeah? We have those days, Yeah, we have those days.

Speaker 7 (22:32):
It's definitely one of those days.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
I'm sorry to hear that, but thank you as always
for breakfast pleasure.

Speaker 4 (22:38):
Absolutely, no matter.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
What's going on in your life, always think of others.

Speaker 7 (22:42):
I do you know, just because I'm having a bad day,
does it mean you guys don't get breakfast?

Speaker 8 (22:46):
Come on, let's be real, let's be.

Speaker 5 (22:47):
Real good on a bad day thing. You're not having
a bad day, just some days are tougher than others.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
That's how. That's a perceptional way. Yeah, I passed it well.

Speaker 2 (22:57):
Her definition of bad may be different than yours.

Speaker 8 (23:00):
But I get what you are saying. Yes, yes, it's
all good. Some days are tough, right, some days are
and yeah we are all gonna be all right. Nothing
that food can't fix.

Speaker 7 (23:15):
The Vikings are her trading their quarterback Sam Howell in
a twenty twenty six sixth round pick to the Eagles
in exchange for a twenty twenty six fifth round pick,
along with a seventh pick in twenty twenty seven. Following
this move, Minnesota also signed veteran quarterback Carson Once to
backup JJ McCarthy. Raiders quarterback in And O'Connell fractured his
wrist on Saturday night. He's going to be out six
to eight weeks, so that leaves cam Miller as the

(23:36):
only quarterback behind Geno Smith. The Bucks have wave safety
rookie safety Shiloh Sanders. Following his ejection in last night's
game for throwing a punch, Cowboys activated cornerback Trayvon Digs
from the physically unable to perform list. In baseball, Paul
Skens pitched seven innings for the Pirates, only gave a
three hit, struck out seven, and the Pirates are up
on the Rockies for zero. Top of the ninth inning.

(23:57):
Orioles and Astros tied at one apiece. Top of the
four Mark Viento's with the two run homer, and the
Mets are up on the Braves two zero bottom of
the fourth inning. Billy is on the scoreboard first against
the Nationals. It's two zero bottom of the third Royals
are on top of the Tigers six to one. In Detroit.
It's the top of the fourth inning and the Marlins
have scored first against the Blue Jays one zero, bottom
of the fourth inning.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
Also, the US Open is underway. It's the first round.

Speaker 7 (24:20):
So on the men's side of things, American Ben Shelton
and Taylor Fritz. I think Ben Shelton may have just
won his match. Ben Shelton was up two sets to
one and has officially won his first round match in
straight sets. Taylor Fritz, also the fourth seat right now,
is up two sets to zero in his first round match.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
Back to you.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
Guys, all right, Montsi, thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Checking with you a little bit later. Once again, this
is Hartman and Husky Fox Sports Sunday, and we're in
the Fox Sports Radio studios. So let's get back to
the comments made by Eric Dickerson. By the way, do
we actually have the audio, Stam, can you play the
actual audio of Eric Dickerson and the big announcement he
made the other day.

Speaker 9 (25:00):
And I'll tell you as much of what I and
what I heard from someone that's in the NFL that
the NFL put it told other don't draft him do
not draft him. We're gonna make hi We're gonna make
an example out of him. And this came from a
very good source, a very good source, and he said
that I won't say who. Somebody called the Cleveland Browns
and said, don't do that. Draft really, yep, draft him,

(25:22):
don't don't. Don't do that because they weren't drafted either.
They weren't gonna drafted.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Okay, so this this raise again.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
We're talking about a Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson, who
obviously has high level sources reporting for everyone to hear
was out, you know, like some private conversation. He didn't
just go on the show to throw it out there.
He had a purpose to get that out there. So
immediately the NFL needs to respond. Was there a conspiracy here?

(25:51):
Of course they probably were in on it so they
would know. But if there was, and then why did
the Cleveland Browns break rank especially after taking Dylan Gabriel
in the third round?

Speaker 3 (26:04):
You see, you see how crazy this is? So your reversion.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Then I thought, well, wait a second, everyone in the
league was I rated the Browns when they gave Deshaun
Watson that fully guaranteed contract. Screwed things up for everybody
in terms of negotiating deals, right because there was no
such thing as a one hundred percent fully guaranteed contract.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
Of that level in the NFL. Never it happened before,
and you were doing it for a guy that had
been out of football for a year. Obviously it hasn't
played out well in terms of what they got in
return for that. So maybe you were thinking the other
thing like, oh, by the way, Browns, your payback is
you need to take him, because again, the Browns reaction
when they actually drafted Shudor Standers was so subdued. It

(26:46):
was sort of like our thought at the time was
where they told, you've got to use this pick on
Shador Sanders. So this is why we were sitting here
and we're looking for answers right now. But to me,
the NFL before thing, you have to dress on the
NFL's great of you know, getting things controversial things, you know,
to disappear.

Speaker 4 (27:06):
They've done it over and over and over again.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
But force the NFL is there an investigate what We
have a high level source in the league telling that
there was collusion among NFL owners to make an example
and do not drap this kids nor Sanders and the
Browns of all people broke ranks and now they purposely

(27:29):
made him look as bad as possible yesterday.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
None of this adds up to me right now, none
of it. It makes perfect sense. But I just, like
I said, I just think.

Speaker 5 (27:38):
People aren't being honest about the topic. Let's go with
this Eric Dickerson piece, all right once again. If Eric
Dickerson is saying this, and we know Eric Dickerson, he
does a lot of work here in La like, he
is still a staple in radio.

Speaker 3 (27:53):
In this city.

Speaker 5 (27:54):
I see him all the time here him all the
time and listen to him when he fills in on
different shows.

Speaker 3 (27:59):
If he is saying this, then.

Speaker 5 (28:01):
Why are we still acting like this is so far
fetched and so far Oh, this is why teams didn't
want him.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
Is because he's too showy or he's to this, sir.

Speaker 5 (28:12):
I listen my ears to the ground. I listen to
the business that I'm in. I'm not that guy that
just does what I do and then walk away. No,
I peep in and listen because I want to hear
what other people are in the business are saying and
the way that they're putting their narrative and their message
out and there's never been every time this comes up before,

(28:32):
Oh my god, here we go conspiracy theory be could well,
here's a guy now saying No, I know for a
fact that someone in high NFL rankings told me this,
I'm not making Eric Dickerson is not a guy that's
gonna go out there and make something up for clicks
and for like, he doesn't have to do that. He's

(28:53):
not from that generation anyway. And like Steve has already said,
we both know him personally. So he's a guy that's
gonna am I right with that? Is he a guy
that's gonna go out there and jeopard exactly? He's not
gonna go out there and just listen.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
I just texted him.

Speaker 5 (29:07):
He's one of the most raw. He's one of the
most raw former players I've ever talked to, to be
honest with. He is brutally real and honest. So now
that we have something like this, but it was said
by people that are in the business. This was said
by again Lewis Riddick, who has been in the front offices,
who has been in these meetings, who has been around

(29:28):
these owners, who has been around VP of football, of personnel,
and operations and gms.

Speaker 3 (29:33):
No one wanted to hear it. Then we've heard it
from other players.

Speaker 5 (29:36):
Yes, this type of stuff goes on in the NFL
owners gms. They get in their feelings when they don't
like the look of somebody, when they don't like the
style of somebody, they'll completely ignore the tape. They will
get in there. We've heard former people that have been
in these situations say it. And all I heard Steve was,
oh my god, conspiracy theory again. And now we have

(30:00):
someone who both of us know when they're connected to
and saying, Hey, this guy just put this out there
and we just played the sound for you guys.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
So what now? I'm with you, Steve.

Speaker 5 (30:09):
Oh, we can do an investigation, but will it be
a real investigator? Steve? All right, so will we really
ever get an answer so you can still have Now,
I'll be honest with you. I don't agree that Stefansky
put him out there on purpose to make him look back.
I'm willing enough to just say Shador look bad, but
he also is out there with a bunch of guys
that's not gonna make the team, that is gonna make

(30:30):
you look Brad. You could have put Tom Brady out there,
and that line would have gotten would have gotten him killed.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
Like you could have put anything that the point got
to get open. You see scrambling around, and it's like, well,
how about the one that the guy dropped hit him
in his chest? See that's see, that's what I mean.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
If we're gonna say it, we have to get full
context and be honest about it. There's a time he's scrambling.
The man that has two people around him, he can
toarts his body around. It makes an accurate throw that
hits a receiver in the chest.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
This was a repeat problem for him at Colorado. You
can't take twenty yards shots in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (31:09):
He had one of the worst lines on any big
program to get.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
Rid of the ball.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
I remember, you know the thing about it is Schnard
Sanders is not a mobile quarterback. No, he's not a
running quarterback. Okay, look, he's a running quarterback. I remember
watching Damn Marino very early in his career.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
Obviously, he had.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
A phenomenal arm, insanely quick release. He had zero athleticism
to get out of his own way. What he did
was if the he could instantly recognize this ain't gonna work.
And he just threw the ball away. In fact, I
thought he got rid of I thought he got away
with murders sometimes for intentional grounding, because he would just

(31:51):
you know, he was at depth at just sort of
firing the ball towards somebody, even if they were ten
yards down the field, you know, but it would bound
five are funny guy.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
I mean again, he got rid of the ball.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
He did not want to get hit, he didn't want
to take a sack. These are the things that quarterbacks
have to learn. And it was a problem for him
at Colorado when the protection would break down, is that
instead of going sideline to sideline to scramble, he would
go backwards.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
And you can't do that in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
But again, I still believe the way it played out,
especially Stefanski's decision after the Rams took the lead to
yank she door Sanders and put in Tylerton.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
It was the smart thing to do. It let the
kid a chance to make amends.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
If he had gotten a few plays and they had
one with a field goal, he walks out instead. The
kid had to answer questions and then even admitted I
was ready to go in. I thought I was going
to go in and then I wasn't going in.

Speaker 5 (32:54):
No that I don't. I don't mind them pulling a
it wasn't working. You could have got that kid, Oh yesterday,
that line was terrible.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
Well, Tyler Hunley didn't get killed.

Speaker 5 (33:04):
Tyler Huntley ain't been playing, and nobody cares about Tyler Huntley.
Point was and guess and guess what Tyler hunt Yeah,
but you got a fresh body coming on the field
too that they got no tape on they. I guarantee
you those players watched zero table Tyler Hunty leaning into
this preseason game.

Speaker 3 (33:21):
Zero.

Speaker 5 (33:21):
There was no Tyler Huntley tape shown during practice this week.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
Okay, let's let's that. That's just the way. That's the
way football goes. Okay.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
So we were talking about the fact that the Browns
had their third four stringers guys so to be on
the unemployment line this week.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
Same thing with the.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
Rams, and and they looked dynamite.

Speaker 3 (33:39):
Oh no, they look dynamite.

Speaker 5 (33:40):
They were there may be pressure on him exactly, because
that's just how much better their threes are better. You listen,
you just proved my point by saying you just prove
my point by saying that. So they both had their
threes and and these threes are dominating. You know what
that tells me how bad those threes are. If these
threes can dominate these threes, then these threes are hore terrific.

(34:06):
That's how football goes, and there's no way around it.
Does he need to get rid of the ball, Absolutely,
But I don't want him throwing it, getting rid of
the ball and then throwing a tipped interception, because then
he'd be getting killed for throwing the interception.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
On the other side, I want to put a rap
on this and I want to get to this question.

Speaker 4 (34:24):
What is the end game here for Shador Sanders.

Speaker 3 (34:27):
We don't know.

Speaker 4 (34:28):
We will find out, We will figure it out.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
This is Fox Sports Sunday, Harbin and Husky, Fox Sports Sunday.
We're in the Fox Sports Radio studios. Coming up in
a couple of hours, John Palmerrosi, JP's going to be
joining us. How about that Dodger Padre series going on
this weekend. Padrey's back on top.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
Of the NLS.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
So we're gonna a little baseball talk in with John
Palmerrosi coming up.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
All right, we're putting a rap on.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
This whole Shadoor Sanders situation. So again I'll ask the question,
and I ask going into the break. So with all
the controversy about what happened, how do we get to
where we are?

Speaker 3 (35:06):
You know the near future? Look, Shound Sanders is.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Going to be at the very least on the practice
squad of the Cleveland Browns. I think purposely they try
to make them look as bad as possible so that
there are no teams actually ready to put them on
their fifty three man roster. It could be a risk, though,
regret but I think that's the direction we're going right now.
But anyway, aside from that, what exactly here is the
endgame for Shudre Sanders? I mean, what is the endgame

(35:33):
in terms of what the Browns plans are for sure Sanders,
and if not for the Cleveland Browns, the NFL's endgame
plan for should Sanders.

Speaker 5 (35:43):
First of all, it is not supposed to be an
endgame from the NFL. That's That's that right there alone.
Lets me know, it tells me that there's you know,
there's shenanigans going on. If you're worried about what's the
endgame for the NFL. He ain't supposed to you know,
damn endgame from the NFL. But I don't know what
the endgame is. I'm not gonna try to guess. I'm

(36:06):
gonna take a different route. I'm gonna tell you what
I want Cleveland to do and what i want Shador
Sanders to do. If I'm Schadoor Sanders, especially with the
illusion or the sources or the thought mind process of
about a conspiracy of we're gonna make an example of him,

(36:28):
which is very illegal to do.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Number one, it's unethical as hell number two.

Speaker 5 (36:34):
And there's a bunch of other terms and things I
can use right now that I'll just choose not to.
But if I'm Schadoor Sanders, I asked them to release
me at this point, let me go, Let me go.
I don't want to if I'm no good, Okay, I'm
no good, I'm in mature, I'm all these things. I
hear people calling this kid that don't even know them

(36:57):
that if they're spending zero time with him, don't know
nothing about him. But we'll get on TV and radio
and Sadie's disparaging things about Schador Sanders, and then if
I'm Cleveland, release them, let him go, and let's see
what you do with Flacco and Dylan Gabriel and then

(37:18):
if nobody signs him, there's your answer, because you can't
tell me that every second and third quarterback on all
thirty two teams are better than Shador Sanders. Now we
got some traction if we want to play this guy. Okay,
now we got something going. So you mean to tell
me Anthony Richardson is better than your door Sanders. You

(37:42):
mean to tell me Zach Wilson is a better choice
to have on your roster to mow even though I
can't stand the fact that he's on my Dolphins, but
he's there. But if you're saying we're trying to mold him,
we want to work, Okay, no problem. But then you're
telling me that every two and three and practice squad

(38:03):
quarterback in the NFL is better than Shador Sanders. If
I'm Chador Sanders, asks for your release, young man. If
they don't want you. My mom always taught me, don't
be nowhere you're not wanted. I don't want nobody that
don't want me.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
You don't want me, no problem, and it's no beef.
But let me go. Then unloosen and let me go.

Speaker 5 (38:25):
And now if nobody like you said, if nobody picks
them up, Steve, then maybe there just might be something
to what mister Dickerson put out there, because then you
got to tell me that every two and every three
in the NFL is better than sha door, and you
and I both know that it's far from the case.

Speaker 3 (38:47):
Going back to the.

Speaker 2 (38:48):
Colin Kaepernick situation, so the NFL had this going for
them when they would argue against the conspiracy theory that
he was being locked out of the league, and that
was in his last twenty four starts with the forty
nine ers.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
His record was four and twenty. Now you could say,
you make a lot.

Speaker 4 (39:07):
Of arguments and well that wasn't his father was a
bad team and they crumbled around him. But that was
sort of the built in. It's like, well, the reason
that no one's really interested in Kaepernick is his last
twenty four starts, he was four and twenty. He was
one in ten is last year nobody's interested in picking
him up. Plus he's insisting that he's a starting quarterback
and they're looking at that.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
I mean, right or wrong, that's what they're throwing out there.
They're basically saying, well, we sort of have a built
in you know reason why teams might when you know
most likely it wasn't that it was a clear conspiracy
to lock him out of the league. So I'm not
exactly Again, when you're talking about some of the quarterbacks,
you're talking about a Richardson or Wilson. These guys are

(39:47):
top picks on the draft. This guy's a fifth round pick.
Fifth round picks are cut every day. That's not a
big deal if he caught a fifth round pick.

Speaker 3 (39:54):
But we know why he would be cut though it's
not because of it sounding because once again I'm asking you,
is Anthony Rigson bettered in him?

Speaker 6 (40:00):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (40:00):
Okay, so, but he's still on the but he had mile.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
My guess is he's going to be on that practice
squad and if teams won him on their fifteen feet
three man roster, he will be gone much more Coming
up here, this is Fox Sports Sunday, rolling on on
another huge Fox Fox Sports Sunday Sports Sunday. This is
Hartbin and Husky here and we're in the Fox Sports
Radio studios. Bo I need you in here right now.

(40:27):
Can you come in the studio right now. I need
to give you a phone number to call immediately, and
I'm going to give you this number here, so I'm
going to have our esteem producer Bo Benson walk in
here right now. He may actually have this number, but
I'm going to make sure if he does have this.

Speaker 3 (40:44):
Number or not.

Speaker 2 (40:46):
Bo, do you have this phone number? I need you
to call this person right now. They just texted me
and said they're playing golf right now.

Speaker 3 (40:57):
But he says call him right now, so make it, yes, sir?

Speaker 2 (41:02):
All right, So we're gonna make a phone call here
to someone getting something. We're hoping to turn the page,
but maybe we can get you.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
Well, I know we don't. No, no, we do. You don't,
well I.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
Don't because I'm looking for a few more answers right now.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
Here's the thing.

Speaker 5 (41:19):
People say they're looking for answers, and they keep saying
they're looking for answers. It's because they don't want the
answers that they're getting. They don't want the answers that
they're getting. It's gotta fit a certain narrative we can.
And I'm glad we have this gentleman, illustrious esteem gentlemen,
that's gonna that's gonna come on at all because like
I said, I and you and I both said this
when it comes to sports period, but certain topics, I

(41:40):
feel like people change their narrative and how they view things.
I'm liable to believes people who have been in the rooms,
people who have been in the trenches.

Speaker 3 (41:49):
People who people who have been a situation.

Speaker 5 (41:51):
It's like the analogy I use is this, if you're married,
don't take advice from non married People's right, thank you,
don't advice from your non married friend.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
All right, well, joining us right now as a man
we've already mentioned, he, of course, is one of the
all time greats, a member of the one hundred year
anniversary team in the NFL, a first ballot Hall of Famer,
and a dear friend, the great Eric Dickerson is joining
us right now out on the golf course where I
normally would find him right now.

Speaker 3 (42:20):
He thanks so much for joining us here. VJ. Husky
is with me as well.

Speaker 2 (42:26):
First of all, we got to get some resolve on
your very public comments about this conspiracy to lock Chador
Sanders out of the National Football League. I'm certainly not
asking for a source. I know one thing about you.
You're not going to have a story out there publicly
unless it's one hundred percent true, but give us a
little background, at least something that we can go by,

(42:49):
yes on exactly why there would be a conspiracy to
lock Shador Sanders out of the NFL.

Speaker 6 (42:57):
Well, first of all, I think they want to teach
his dad a lesson and they don't like his uh
I guess flamboyant and it's kind of like his dad.
Now I heard they didn't like his interview went that
he had h with I guess some of the teams,
and you know, it was just you know, I mean, look, Steve,

(43:18):
I know how the National Football League known works. You know,
you can say, no, it's not like that, but it
is like that, and then it's like that. And I
have to say, and I don't make this a race thing,
but it's like that for black players. You know, we
can we can only say so much to get only
do so much. You know. I always ask the question,
have you ever seen a white quarterback hold out? I
can tell you no, it doesn't happen. But black quarterbacks
have to hold out. And that's just that's just the fact.
You might not like the truth, like my dad would say,

(43:40):
you might not like the truth, but it's the truth,
and that's what it is, and so with him. Like
I said, I think this came from an excellent source,
somebody who works in the league. They told me that
they wanted to teach based to him and his dad
a lesson. You know that. You know, Look, no one's
bigger than any sport, Baseball, basketball, national Football League. You're
not bigger than the sport. But if they don't like
something found you or how you handle yourself, you know,

(44:02):
it can cause a problem. And to door, I don't
know Shador, but he seemed like a really good kid
because I know his dad. His dad is a stand
up guy, a very good guy. And some of these
coaches are afraid that, you know, if they have him
on the team that they might have to they might
end up losing their jobs to to Dionne and Todor,
And like I say, for him, I feel bad because
he's kind of calm to know, and he's he's a

(44:23):
good kid. But you know, because say that's that's how
it is. Like I say, you might not want to
hear it. You might. There's so many teams that could
have used him. The Raiders could have used him as
a quarterback, and look at that situation right now, and
why don't you draft him. I saw Mal Kuiper say
pretty much the same thing I said. Skip Dayal said
the same same thing I said. Marl Kiper said in
thirty years, he hadn't seen anything like this. This is ridiculous,

(44:45):
and it really is ridiculous. And so you can say, oh, no,
he's not that good. He's not. But he is better
than most quarterback pretty much, maybe I think all quarterbacks
that went before him. The kid's on his team. Dylan,
gab And Dillon, he doesn't him for sure. I mean,
but you know Gabing Dylon, you know he's gonna say
the right thing. You know, he's he has all the

(45:05):
right answers, and there's nothing against him. I don't know
gab And Dylon's probably a nice young man, but it's nothing.
It's nothing against him, you know. It's just how the
league is with some black players, especially these kids now
that have a platform that has a brand. They don't
like that. And that's just that's just a fact.

Speaker 5 (45:22):
Eric Dickerson VJ here Man, it's so good to be
talking to you, man. I've missed our conversations.

Speaker 3 (45:27):
We used to have.

Speaker 5 (45:28):
What I was working on your cell phone back in
the day of Verizon, brother, and doing my.

Speaker 3 (45:32):
Show for me all right, the way you used to Man,
I miss you, brother, But I just wanted to say this.

Speaker 5 (45:38):
I want to thank you. I do as a radio
guy in this business. I want to thank you for
what you just said. Because as I was telling my
illustrious a co host to my left, well, I love
doing my show with If we're gonna talk about this,
we gotta be honest about it.

Speaker 3 (45:53):
We can't. We can't do the front and and we
can't say, oh my god, a conspiracy. Yes, this stuff happens.

Speaker 5 (45:59):
And I also wrote down a bunch of names from
TJ to O Joe yourself. I wrote down because I
heard your commas, Ryan Clark, Shannon Sharp. I'm liable to
listen to the guys that's been in those rooms, that's
been in the NFL, that knows the uncomfortable conversations and
the uncomfortable things that we just don't want to admit
and say.

Speaker 3 (46:18):
So I throw this at you.

Speaker 5 (46:20):
I said, if I'm Shadoor and you tell me what
you think, Eric, if I'm shrdor, I tell Cleveland to
release me.

Speaker 3 (46:25):
And if I'm Cleveland, then let him go.

Speaker 5 (46:28):
If you don't want them, or if he's so called
not good, and then let's see who picks him up,
because if nobody does, then that means there's real hardcore
more even though there's already validity, and what you said,
there's more hardcore validity, because then that means is I
told Steve last segment, that means you're telling me that
every two and three on every thirty two man roster

(46:50):
is better than shador and that's and we know that's
not the case.

Speaker 3 (46:53):
Your thoughts, oh man, you're right on with it.

Speaker 6 (46:57):
Like I'll say, I'll give you this example here. I
remember when Colin and Kaepernick he kneeled. I said it.
I said he's done. I said, never playing in the
NFL again. People said, oh, I said he's done. Trust me,
I know how it works. He'll never play again. He's black.
You can't do that. You know, even a Navy seal
told him. You know, if you want to be respectful,
Neil can make a difference. You can't. You can't. You cannot,

(47:19):
you cannot do that. I was talking to to my
I said, I was talking to my good friend Jim
Gray last night. We laughed and talked about gyms. You
will never understand it because you're not black. I said.
It's like it's like I can never understand the Holocaust.
I can never understand that. I said, once you're black
or you're Hispanic, I could never know what a hispanic
goes to. I could never know what I'm even being white.

(47:40):
But I know what it's like to whether it's black skin.
I said, when you walk into a store and they
look at you, they follow you, it's different. And and
some guys can be able to buy the store, but
they don't know that they see the black skin first.
And look, I'm not trying to make this a race thing.
It's not about the race. It's just about right and wrong.
And I always say, if you don't want the truth,
don't ask me. Ask somebody else, ask the person next

(48:00):
to me, But don't ask me, because man, I mean,
it's just it's wrong what they're doing to this young man.
Like you said, if they don't want him, let him go.

Speaker 3 (48:07):
Thank you.

Speaker 6 (48:08):
I mean you you're telling me everybody before the draft
was wrong about him. All of a sudden, he's a bum.
He can't plan the lead. I mean, I don't. I
don't get that. So yeah, I mean my source was
right on when he said that. He said, Eric, you
said it to a told not the draft. Hi, We're
gonna teach him a lesson, he said, he said, And
it's really sad. I said, yep, I know it. I
knew it. All right.

Speaker 4 (48:27):
We're gonna let you get back to your golf again.
One final question, though, and that is the fact that
what you're talking about his collusion, it's a conspiracy amongst
NFL ownership. Is the league gonna do any kind of investigation.
We know how their investigations go.

Speaker 3 (48:42):
They're really good. So they're sweeping the Dutch out of
the rush.

Speaker 2 (48:45):
At the very least, they got to address the fact
that a Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson is talking publicly
and right now on national radio about a source that
one hundred percent you can trust someone on the inside
that there was a league wide conspiracy collusion to not

(49:05):
draft this kid and then they were upset when the
Browns broke ranks and actually did draft this kid.

Speaker 4 (49:11):
Is the NFL going to address this at all?

Speaker 6 (49:15):
Man? Come on, come on, Steve, how you signed?

Speaker 3 (49:19):
How sound like?

Speaker 6 (49:21):
Just like just like I said when it came to that,
do you know anything? Do you know anything about Race
know me. Have you heard about that?

Speaker 3 (49:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (49:29):
You know what Race know me is they did douns,
which it was the CT East down. The black players
pretty much already dumb, so you know they weren't smart anyway.
And you know what the NFL said, Yeah we did it,
but we won't do it again. So man, come on, no,
this is not gonna do it. They're gonna have these
these so called words. I mean, oh, we got an
investigation and it ain't gonna be non investigation. They don't care.

(49:49):
Like I said, no one's bigger than the league. No
one's bigger than any need, No one's bigger than any corporation.
That's just the fact that you own the corporation. So no,
nothing's gonna happen. I just hope. I just hope that
he gets on the team that really wants him to
show everybody. I got to say, my man send me
a text, uh that the day you know, I say
what I said, and he's Eric Man, thanks for standing

(50:11):
up for my son, he sayd Man, it just really
hurts me. You know what they're doing to my son
and other players. You know, because they can't drift other players.
They don't draft him and I get it, you know,
but hey, it is what it is, Steve. You know,
it is what it is.

Speaker 4 (50:22):
Guy.

Speaker 3 (50:23):
All right, he thanks so much, man, appreciate it. Have
a good day on the golf course. Man.

Speaker 6 (50:27):
Let me let me try to make this birthday right now.

Speaker 2 (50:31):
All right, love you man, thanks so much. That's the
great Eric Dickerson. All right, So there you go. There
is good stuff. And by the way, he was in
lockstep with almost everything you had to say, almost word
for word.

Speaker 3 (50:46):
By the way. All right, so's take a lightent.

Speaker 2 (50:49):
Okay, So we got that now done. On the other side,
we're going to get to some other NFL news, and
we got a lot.

Speaker 3 (50:54):
To talk about.

Speaker 2 (50:55):
In fact, with Bob Benson back as our producer, he
of course the No. Number One Eagles fan on the planet,
that's a good place to start. This is Fox Sports Sunday,
Steve hartmin bj Husky, Fox Sports Sunday. We're in the
Fox Sports Radio studios. Are thanks again to the Hall
of Famer Eric Dickerson for joining us. All right, it

(51:17):
is time now to get focused on all the other
teams players around the National Football League. Bo Benson is back. Bo,
how does it feel to be back here? And you're
home on Sunday, Sir at Fox Sports.

Speaker 10 (51:30):
Radio, Steve, I really wanted you to ask Eric Dickerson
if he could get in touch with fanatics and see
if they'd ever restock his throwback jersey because they haven't
for a long time. Wow, people are clamoring for those.

Speaker 7 (51:42):
Wow.

Speaker 10 (51:43):
So other than that, everything's good. How about you guys,
We're doing great.

Speaker 4 (51:46):
I mean, it was great to have Eric go on
and clarify a few things, you know, and again it's
coming from him, not us.

Speaker 3 (51:53):
So there you go. All right, let's let's focus.

Speaker 2 (51:57):
And the reason bol right off the bat I want
to talk to you is so yeah, I have you
seen the Chiefs thing on ESPN where they reviewed as
last year? It was it was unbelievable because I actually
tuned in by accident to what I guess was the
last episode, which of course is them getting annihilated in
the Super Bowl by the Eagles, and it's all this

(52:18):
behind the scenes stuff the lead up to the game,
and they have mahomes, they have any read, they got
Chris Jones, you know, they're talking to everybody, Kelsey obviously,
and then they're showing the behind the scenes as the
Eagles are piling up a thirty four to nothing lead
before you know, calling.

Speaker 3 (52:33):
Off the dogs and blowing them out.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
So I'm watching this game and I'm just reminded how
dominant the Eagles were at the end of last year.
I mean, they annihilated the Commanders in the NFC Championship
Game and they just steamrolled right through that postseason with
zero resistance. I mean, they were there and everyone else
was way below them. So what is your feeling right

(52:58):
now about the Eagles heading into this year? Because again,
I was reminded how dominant they were at the end
of last year, And is there any reason to think
that they're just not gonna pick up where they left off.

Speaker 3 (53:12):
At the end of last season?

Speaker 6 (53:14):
Well?

Speaker 10 (53:15):
Yeah, I mean once again, they changed offensive coordinators, so
who knows what's gonna go on there. Aj Brown's been
nursing a hamstring injury, but I have a feeling if anything, Oh,
I have a feeling if anything like that's probably just
held out for precautionary reasons, but there there. Cornerback two
battle has been an interesting thing to watch in camp

(53:36):
because right now the Eagles basically don't have one. Adri
Jackson could not win the job. Keeley Ringo could not
win the job. They traded for Jaquarian Bennett from the Raiders,
who's been okay. They were talking about maybe moving Cooper
dejen to the outside cornerback, which is not ideal. So
it shouldn't be smooth sailing. But there's also no reason

(53:58):
to believe they won't be good because there's still good
where it matters in the trenches. They still have the
best offensive line in football, I'd say, and they probably
have the best defensive line in football at this point.
Jalen Carter is going to get a massive contract next
year when he's eligible, so I don't know they much
like the Dodgers. My opinion is that there's five years
now where I'm not going to really get too emotional

(54:19):
about whatever happens one way or the other because they
just won a championship, so we'll see what happens. I
think they're going to win the division because.

Speaker 2 (54:26):
By the way, asn't happened in twenty years, and the
Eagles rattle up four in a row from one to
four when Andy Reid was there, and no team is
repeaters NFC each camp since Shawhan Campbell's probably going to
be a stud from day one. I loved that draft pick.
I don't think I was here.

Speaker 10 (54:41):
I think I left the week after the Super Bowl,
so I didn't get to talk about the complete undressing
that they did in the Super Bowl of the Kansas
City Chiefs, which the final score was forty to six.
I keep seeing forty to twenty.

Speaker 3 (54:52):
Two or forty forty to twenty two is the final?

Speaker 10 (54:54):
Yeah, no, it was forty to six. The Chief's garbage
time scores don't count. So that was good and that
was fun to watch. So yeah, we'll see. I've been
saying since the season ended that I think Washington is
the easiest under on win total this year. I don't
think they're going to be any good, and I think
the Cowboys might be a little bit better than people think.
I do too, so I don't but I don't think

(55:16):
they're gonna have much competition in the division directly, So
we'll see what happens.

Speaker 2 (55:20):
All right, how do you break it down? I mean,
I don't know VDA as we look into the season.
Then again, I guess because I was just watching again
the Eagles at the end of last year. It was
just insane and the dominance, I mean you focus in
on Jalen Hurts or Saquon Barkley and all the big
name players. But where the Eagles dominate is in the trenches.
I mean their offensive and defensive fronts. I mean Patrick

(55:43):
Mahomes is running for his life. Their offensive line is dominant,
best offensive line in the NFL right now.

Speaker 4 (55:50):
I don't see any slowing down of this Eagles team.

Speaker 5 (55:52):
Interesting good stuff by Bo, but no mention of the
number one reason why there's zero worry for the Eagle
and that is who I think can be an MVP
candidate this year. And this Jalen Hurts their quarterback. Oh yeah,
who's the top five quarterback in this league?

Speaker 11 (56:08):
I agree?

Speaker 3 (56:08):
And I know, and I know I am one and
I pulled this guy on a few weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
Well, we were talking about the top four just so,
we were talking about Burrow and we were talking about Mahomes,
who were talking about Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen and
we're like, those four are just clearly above everyone else.
And as we start and then I asked the question, well,
who's the fifth best quarterback? And then the next thing,
you know, we all looked at each other and they
said Jalen Hurts. Then they were like, all right, so

(56:34):
there are four elite quarterbacks in this league. There are
five elite quarterbacks in this.

Speaker 5 (56:40):
But to even go deeper with that bow, I proposed
the question about two to three weeks ago, and I'm
gonna I'm gonna hang on this all year long. Why
can't I put Jalen Hurts over a Lamar who everyone
knows I love, or over a Josh Allen Because we
ask quarterbacks to do certain things, and when they do

(57:01):
them for some reason, if if they're not our cup
of tea, or if they don't look right or look
a certain way doing it for some reason, now they
gotta go do it again. Jalen Hurts has been to
two Super Bowls. Jalen Hurts has outplayed the guy that
people wanted to call the all time go just.

Speaker 3 (57:20):
Two years ago.

Speaker 5 (57:21):
Just two years ago, people were already trying to put
Patrick Mahomes over Thomas Brady and all this.

Speaker 3 (57:29):
Guy went and did.

Speaker 5 (57:30):
He's got one hiccup and that's the fumble scoop score
to Bowl and the A four and a half.

Speaker 3 (57:35):
That's the one hiccup. And if he doesn't do that,
they win that game.

Speaker 2 (57:39):
Hold on VJs. As we're talking right now, Broaches.

Speaker 3 (57:47):
Are you ready for this?

Speaker 2 (57:49):
So bol, I'm gonna ask you a question. If you
could make this straight up trade right now, would you
make it? Would you trade Jalen Hurts for Justin Herbert?

Speaker 10 (58:02):
Okay, See this is not fair because you have to
ask me. Are you asking me the person.

Speaker 3 (58:07):
That d right now.

Speaker 2 (58:11):
As someone that follows the Eagles as you do. If
I could offer you, straight up today Jalen Hurts for
Justin Herbert, would you make that trade?

Speaker 10 (58:21):
I probably would not do that, given that Jalen Hurts
raises his level of play in the postseason.

Speaker 4 (58:28):
But by the way, the answer to this question used
to be yes from you.

Speaker 10 (58:31):
Yeah, I think you know more as I think about it, Like,
but you're asking me personally as an objective observer, Like
if I wasn't an Eagles fan and I didn't care, yes,
I would do that fourteen times three ways from Sunday.
But because I am, like, that's obviously gonna paint my answer.
But like Justin Herbert with AJ Brown and Barkley and

(58:52):
DeVante Smith would be hilarious to watch. They wouldn't lose
a game.

Speaker 3 (58:55):
Oh I'm not that mentioned they have mech you now too. Yeah, like.

Speaker 6 (59:00):
There.

Speaker 2 (59:02):
And by the way, the reason I mentioned that is
that you v ja. We're talking about Justin Herbert.

Speaker 3 (59:07):
I know that, but but I didn't put him over
Jalen Hurts, right, I didn't do.

Speaker 2 (59:13):
Let me ask you the question right now, if the
Eagles were offered a straight up trade today, Jalen.

Speaker 3 (59:18):
Hurts for Justin Herber, would you make that trade?

Speaker 5 (59:20):
Don't do that trade, because why would you trade a
quarterback that's got you the two out of the last
three Super Bowls. He's obviously top, top notch leader, leader,
he's a great player.

Speaker 3 (59:31):
So we don't. I don't.

Speaker 5 (59:32):
We don't need to do the variables. I'm just I
was just filling bowling on like even Josh Allen get
I get if you want the big six' four see, LIKE.

Speaker 3 (59:42):
I get all of. That but at the end of the,
day that guy can't Beat Pat. Mahomes he.

Speaker 5 (59:47):
Can't Jalen hurts has done, it And Jalen hurts it
now and NOW i hear well he hat sa? Kwan,
Okay so are we gonna Say Joe montana Had Roger.

Speaker 3 (59:57):
Craig are we gonna Say Troy aikman had. Him that's
the Way.

Speaker 5 (01:00:01):
Bo you AND i been doing radio together long, enough
you know, Me, MAN i JUST i want people to
just deliver full. Context if we're gonna say one quarterback
had a running.

Speaker 3 (01:00:10):
Back, okay so then you make sure you say it
about these other. Quarterbacks Lamar jackson had a running back last,
year right that ran for nineteen hundred.

Speaker 10 (01:00:17):
Yards there's always there's always guys that are technically better
Than like for a long, time it was, like, oh,
Yeah Tom brady's the greatest quarterback in the, league But
Aaron rodgers is a better, talent talent or a thrower
of the. Football BUT i don't think now in twenty twenty,
five you would ever have anybody be LIKE i would
Take aaron Tom.

Speaker 5 (01:00:34):
Brady, though even when you say that talent and thrower
of the, football there are two different types of quarterbacks
of thrower of the.

Speaker 3 (01:00:43):
Foot brady was as accurate as you can.

Speaker 10 (01:00:47):
BE a lot of that was just people coping because
they were tired of Seeing Tom brady win all the.

Speaker 5 (01:00:52):
Time then when you gave him a first Ballot hall
Of fame, receiver all he did was throw twenty five touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
Passes say just walking in the.

Speaker 5 (01:01:01):
Doors but But Aaron rodgers can run around and, sidearm
and he's got A hallis to the side of his
he can sling.

Speaker 3 (01:01:10):
It But Jeff george could also throw it through a
bar and. Win he could throw it through a brick.

Speaker 5 (01:01:15):
Wall but couldn't Put so WHEN i hear, that because
being A marino, GUY i tell people all the, time
the best peer passer my eyes ever saw a guy
that can just put.

Speaker 3 (01:01:27):
It anywhere at any time and do it all the
time Was Damn. Marino but you know what was lacking
With Dann, Marino AND i was told this many.

Speaker 4 (01:01:34):
Times it was the difference Between marino And elway was
This elway was one of the Guys marino.

Speaker 6 (01:01:42):
Wasn't he.

Speaker 3 (01:01:43):
Wasn't and so we get back to this leadership.

Speaker 2 (01:01:46):
Quality Jalen hurts walks into that locker room and he
has one thousand percent respect from every player.

Speaker 3 (01:01:54):
In that locker. Room so Does Justin.

Speaker 5 (01:01:55):
Herbert i've seen that close and personal covering the charges
the last last, year so that that to me is a.
WASH i just think when we talk about, Accomplishment i'm
telling you he. DOES i just talked To Derwin james
two days. AGO i just spoke verbally to derwin. Games

(01:02:16):
that doesn't mean that doesn't mean you could keep adding
all those variables on the back. End that doesn't mean
that all fifty three men and all the coaches and
trainers look at, that they look at ten and they
know that's the. Guy i've seen it with my own
eyes in. Person but just but back to Your. EAGLES
i think there's no WORD i got.

Speaker 3 (01:02:37):
HIM i know it's. EARLY i got.

Speaker 5 (01:02:38):
Him coming out of THE nfc, AGAIN i THINK i
don't SEE i think they're. GOING i think they're going
to The Super. BOWL i Love i'm with, you bo offensive,
line defensive. Line they've drafted. Magnificently and on the air
when we were on the air when The minchi trade,
HAPPENED i, said, whoa, whoa forget just sitting on This Super.

Speaker 3 (01:02:57):
Bowl you know what we're gonna. Do we're gonna ask
some More we're gonna ask some more. Speeds it is all.

Speaker 4 (01:03:02):
RIGHT i want to stay with THE nfc on the
other side and ask this, question if not The, eagles
who who who is going to be THE nfc team
in The Super?

Speaker 3 (01:03:11):

score you guys know in THE dvr. King But i've
had a LONG i had a long day. Yesterday by
the TIME i got to the, game most teams had
turned the ball over within the first five.

go To, dublin they should Be Notre dame every.

Speaker 4 (01:06:45):
Year people In, Dublin ireland could actually identify the states
Of iowa And.

Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
Kansas.

Speaker 5 (01:06:49):
Well first of, all they had a little clip where
one of THE espn ladies is out on.

Speaker 3 (01:06:52):
The street asking. Questions did That they didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:06:54):

they didn't know how much the touchdown was. Worth they
couldn't identify as Single stolarge football.

Speaker 3 (01:07:00):

navy Did Nordre? Dame who else they? Play Air? Force,
right the academies That Nordre dame puts on their softass.
Schedule just do.

Speaker 5 (01:07:22):
That that way you could get more of the world
into because you have the, military you have the academy, there,
right so that you can get more of the world.

Speaker 3 (01:07:28):
If you're gonna do. It but other than, that stop
The dublin Game Notre dame was the only thing that made,
sense only thing that made, sense and they wiped out
whoever they played recently there like forty something to.

Speaker 2 (01:07:37):
Three so, anyway that was so. Bizarre and then the
weather was socked and everything. Else all, right so let's
get into. This we're all in the same page about The. Eagles,
YES i mean that team again in the. Trenches along
with all the other skilled stars they, have they are
by far the best team on both sides of the
line in The National Football. League so if it's not The,

(01:07:58):
eagles WHO i was asked this question AND i was
on a radio Show. Friday ACTUALLY i did two shows
THIS i was On tuesday And, friday and both TIMES
i was asked if not The, eagles then, who And i'm, like.

Speaker 4 (01:08:11):
Okay so my thought was THIS i, feel but there's
an if with almost every one of.

Speaker 3 (01:08:18):
These but it's an.

Speaker 4 (01:08:19):
If If Matthew stafford is healthy and that's a huge.

Speaker 2 (01:08:23):
If but If Matthew stafford can somehow overcome a disc
problem in his. BACK i played the entire season or,
less say at least fifteen games and is healthy to
the end of the season as he was a year.
AGO i think The rams are the second best, team
but that's a distant second THE Nfc, north The, lions The,

(01:08:44):
vikings The.

Speaker 3 (01:08:45):
Packers, YEAH i got plenty to talk about with The bear,
situation but, anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:08:55):
What we saw in the postseason would raise a flag
with me that maybe they weren't all that good because
they all laid a huge egg in the.

Speaker 3 (01:09:02):
Postseason so that would be my.

Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
Answer my answer is If Matthew stafford can stay on
the field With Devontae adams now With Puka, Nakua Kyraen,
williams to, me is one of the most underrated running
backs in this. League The, rams two of the top
three finishers and Defensive rookie of The. Year they've rebuilt
that defensive. Front they would be my number two, team

(01:09:25):
barely but a distant second to The. Eagles all, right
where are you number two in THE nfc.

Speaker 5 (01:09:31):
As far as, WELL i want to respond to YOUR
Nfc Wes. Rams you know, me, MAN i once AGAIN
i covered the. TEAM i love the. TEAM i Love love.
McVeigh i've always been To Matthew stafford got away back To.
Georgia i've never turned my back On. MATTHEWS i became
A MATTHEW I, NO i was on that. Guy George
i've never turned my back. On and my younger Brother
terrence as A lions, fan so Were it's a lot
Of lions games together Back east BEFORE i moved out

(01:09:52):
here TO la With Matthew stafford And Meggie tron as
his top go two guy THE Nfc.

Speaker 3 (01:09:58):
Wes my only question with that with The rams is
just simply what are The niners gonna?

Speaker 1 (01:10:03):
Be?

Speaker 3 (01:10:04):
Right they had twenty five guys that were that are
out right, now Twenty that is a lot of.

Speaker 5 (01:10:09):
Injury they have a ton of injuries and The Brian
robinson trade raised my eyebrows because what that tells me
is even they may not believe that McCaffrey will ever
be McCaffrey. Again AND i had this conversation in The
nike outlet, stores sneaker shopping for my kids yesterday for
school with the regid the guy ringing me up because

(01:10:31):
they were talking about their fantasy. Team and one guy,
GOES i Got Brock, Party AND i, said you Put
Brock purty on your fantasy, Team.

Speaker 4 (01:10:36):
So BRO i.

Speaker 6 (01:10:37):
DON'T i.

Speaker 3 (01:10:37):
DON'T i. THINK i think the jury is still out
On Brock. PARTY i really.

Speaker 5 (01:10:41):
DO i know he got, paid AND i know he
had a great, year but it shows like every quarterback's
gonna need some. Weapons but when just some guys weren't around,
him he just wasn't the. Same he had a problem
taking care of the football in The steve said he
wouldn't get rid of the, ball he would hold on to,
it take sacks and then it end up throwing. Interceptions
nobody wants to talk about. That, fine BUT i look
at this team AND i kind of wonder where they.

(01:11:02):
Are you's gonna be. Out they traded who wants some of?

Speaker 3 (01:11:05):
Debo he's? Gone you?

Speaker 6 (01:11:07):
KNOW i.

Speaker 5 (01:11:08):
Have they're a big question mark for. Me SO i
can't just hand it to The rams because they could be.
Great they could be good again this. YEAR i just
think that that four year, window that four or five
year run they, HAD i just think that that windows.

Speaker 3 (01:11:18):
Closed they got the Two Super, bowls all. Right so
if not The, rams then who The? LIONS i, mean
you're still with The. Lions i'm getting. THERE i like The,
lions But i'm Gonna i'm gonna play in my heart
a little bit. Right oh, no here we. Go it's J. J.

Speaker 4 (01:11:31):
MCCARTH i feel.

Speaker 5 (01:11:32):
It listen, up BO, I we're gonna Be we're gonna
be together all.

Speaker 4 (01:11:39):
Season this is coming because if you.

Speaker 5 (01:11:45):
Trust, me, now this is a guy to be honest with.
You this is a GUY i want TO i want.
EVERYBODY i want him to prove everybody. WRONG i want
him to prove everybody wrong BECAUSE i do believe he
is what you, are you could. Be he is what
people were trying to, say Like Jalen hurts, Was oh
he has weapons around him and he just turns and, hey,
okay he does his. Job he does what he's acts to.
Do all of us in the work, world you should

(01:12:07):
not get criticized for asking what you're doing to. DO
i Think detroit is still a good football. Team they
just have way too many. Weapons, guys they just DO
i know both coordinators are, gone but they promoted from.
Within they didn't bring new people. In The systems are the.
Same they just the name has just changed next to
UH oc IN. Dc it's just the. Name nothing's. Changed

(01:12:29):
BUT i really LOVE jj, McCarthy i really. Do AND
i think his kids got a chip on his shoulder
from the injury last. Year he's also very, mobile. Y'all
people forget coming out of high, school he ran like
a four or five. Force he can, move he got,
feats he can get out of, trouble he can make,
plays and he's got. Weapons Now addison's. Out the first
was a four to. Six addison's. OUT i Know addison
is out for at least the first, four so it

(01:12:50):
might be. Six But addison being out is gonna be
a Big it's gonna be when when he comes back
and you're throwing The jefferson AND tj and you're handed
to a veteran back Like Aaron, jones who is a
great pass receive rude in the.

Speaker 3 (01:13:03):
Backfield and is great and blitz pick.

Speaker 5 (01:13:05):
Up he have one of the top five offensive, lines
and his defense is gonna help him out Because flores
might have screwed up the head coach of job In,
MIAMI i know first, hand but that man could coach
defense and this is the number one blitz win rate
defense over the last three years in THE. Nfl he's
gonna do it. Again they, blitzed they come at. You
they blitzed over forty five percent of the. Time his

(01:13:25):
defense is gonna get him more opportunities and they're big turnover.

Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
DEFENSE i think The Minnesota vikings could be.

Speaker 5 (01:13:32):
The team that could be up against The eagles and
the probably the game will probably be at The, link
BUT i think The vikings in The eagles could be
THE nfc championship. Game because you're you're telling ME jj
McCarthy can't be an upgrade From sam.

Speaker 3 (01:13:44):
Dark if he just does What Sam darnold did and
varias this is what fourteen and. Three if he just
does what samana, WITH i look at it LIKE i, said,
bo you know, this And vegas has it at nine
nine and a.

Speaker 2 (01:13:58):
HALF a team that one fourteen games With Sam darnold
is over under nine and a. Half you're, like you're
looking at, it like you're telling me they can't win ten.
Games like the whole world's not betting on The vikings
to win at least ten. Games But vegas knows their.
Stuff that's why that number doesn't make any. Sense all,
right on the other, side but be ready for the same.

(01:14:18):
Question number two team in THE. Nfc right, now this
Is Fox Sports, Sunday Harvin, Husky Fox Sports. Sunday once,
again we're here in The Fox Sports radio.

Speaker 3 (01:14:32):
Studios and.

Speaker 2 (01:14:35):
So next, week where of course we're gonna have a
full week one of college. Football it's that bye week
for THE nfl as they get themselves. Ready and then
of course a week From thursday of THE nfl season will.
Begin and ladies and, gentlemen the long wait is almost.
Over that's ALL i can. Say the long wait is
almost over because now it's the best time of the

(01:14:57):
year and we're at that. Point, yeah, YEAH i just
can't get enough of. It all, right we're talking a
LITTLE nfc in this. Hour by the, Way John Palm
morossi will join us coming up in the next. Hour
get a LITTLE mlb talk as. Y'all we're heading toward
stretch run In Major League baseball as. Well BUT, BO
i wanted to get you in on this conversation since
we talked all about The eagles as a clear number

(01:15:19):
one going into the. Season on THE nfc, Side i'm
going with The rams assuming, that and that's a big
assumption That Matthew stafford can stay healthy as my number.
TWO vj is siding with The, vikings expecting a big
year out OF jj. McCarthy so who would you choose
as the biggest threat to Your eagles in THE?

Speaker 5 (01:15:42):
NFC Bo before you, answer can we actually make him
make a real pick and take THE.

Speaker 3 (01:15:46):
If off of? It BECAUSE i don't like. THAT i don't.

Speaker 2 (01:15:49):
Say i'm saying right now The rams are all, right
AND i say that also because they're upgrade on the defensive.

Speaker 4 (01:15:54):
Line you thought you Lose Aaron donald and then they
get two young studs on their defensive.

Speaker 3 (01:16:00):
Front So i'm going to take The.

Speaker 4 (01:16:01):
Ramps twelve percent is my number two in THE nf, shifts, Man,
Yeah i'm gonna go with The New Orleans.

Speaker 10 (01:16:07):
Saints shout out to breathe that bay.

Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
Here first of, all you know what The saints right?
Now when you draft a thirty year old rookie. Quarterback
you know that they want the whole town kid Arch
manning to be A.

Speaker 3 (01:16:22):
Saint it makes. Sense It's grandpa.

Speaker 4 (01:16:24):
Obviously you Know Archie, Manning, saints Arch Manning saints.

Speaker 10 (01:16:30):
Playing For they're going to be awful and then arch
isn't even gonna come out or arch isn't gonna be,
good Which i'm sure we can talk about.

Speaker 3 (01:16:35):
Later, NO I i ACTUALLY.

Speaker 10 (01:16:40):
I don't think it's anyone from THE Nfc. SOUTH i
don't think it's anyone from THE Nfc west BECAUSE i
don't Trust Matthew stafford's. Back, okay he's going to take
one sack because that offensive line isn't very, good and
he's going to die again because apparently this is already
In Matthew stafford. Clone, yeah there's been a lot of
rumors that he actually. Died SO i think, REGARDLESS i
think it's someone from THE Nfc. North i'm rooting FOR

(01:17:00):
jj McCarthy this year BECAUSE i think it's annoying that
people want to count him out before he even throws
a pass in THE. Nfl so it's either The, vikings The,
packers or The, lions, Right But i'm gonna pick The
bears BECAUSE i want to be annoying And profet's not,
here SO i can freely do. THAT I i don't
know If Caleb williams is the GUY i think he's

(01:17:20):
going to. BE i really liked WHAT i saw from
him playing Against buffalo AND i thought he was. Fine
he didn't look great statistically Against Kansas, city but he
made some.

Speaker 3 (01:17:29):
Fas that's were that bad.

Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
LOOK i thought this About Ben johnson when he ripped
into his offense after the. Game this is a team
that had four touchdown passes no interceptions against The. Chiefs
that's that's what you do as a. Coach you're more
critical after the team plays.

Speaker 10 (01:17:45):
Well that's the thing IS i Think Ben johnson is
clearly the guy In. CHICAGO i think just observing that
team through this first training camp with him like it's
it's a it's a lot like watching The rams with
their first training.

Speaker 4 (01:17:55):
Camp this problem is he's got to Get Caleb williams on.
Script he's a script.

Speaker 2 (01:17:59):
Guy Jared goff is a script quarterback and that's what
he worked with and you saw the results In. Detroit
he's trying to basically break Down Caleb williams and saying
stick to the.

Speaker 3 (01:18:10):
Script we will be good.

Speaker 10 (01:18:11):
And that's that's what you. Want that's what you brought
him there to. Do So, hill but, no it's gonna
be The. LIONS i Think.

Speaker 5 (01:18:19):
Caleb Kayleb williams just real. Quick but we haven't had
a chance to talk to. THIS I I'm i'm out
on him And. MAY i Am i'm out on him
And Drake. May BUT i was never in On Caleb
williams BECAUSE i just study and watched too much film
his last YEAR sc there's four bad game tapes to.
Watch four and when you have foot, one, okay, two

(01:18:39):
but the number one, overall pick and watch his. Feet,
guys he these are fundamentally that's but that's.

Speaker 10 (01:18:47):
Why you Hire Ben. Johnson And Ben johnson.

Speaker 5 (01:18:49):
Is afraid to stick him out. There they're afraid he
should have got a whole lot more that he should
have got a whole lot more.

Speaker 10 (01:18:58):
Reps i'm not going to throw a guy. Away and
year two after.

Speaker 5 (01:19:02):
Going back, Away i'm Just i'm out On remember he was,
generational he Was, yeah that.

Speaker 10 (01:19:09):
Might have been too, much but HE'S i think he's.
SO i think everybody in that quarterback class is going
to be just fine WITH.

Speaker 2 (01:19:15):
I remember again When sean McVay came in and took
over for you, know the golf, situation whose rookie season
was so bad that you were just, like this guy can't.

Speaker 4 (01:19:25):
Play he's the number one overall.

Speaker 3 (01:19:26):
Pick he can't. Play and in one year.

Speaker 2 (01:19:31):
He took a kid that literally was deer in the
headlights to a high level quarterback in one. Year AND
i don't, Know Ben, johnson look at the jury's. UP
i know What i've seen on the good side Of Keile.
WILLIAMS i agree with THE. Vj there are different things
to be worried, about BUT i know the good. SIDE
i know what he can. Do and that's What Ben.

(01:19:51):
Johnson that's they got to get on the same page.

Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
Though that is a tough. Guy of, course it's going
to be. Tough, YEAH i mean over the next two
years that the vision is going to be. Tough, yeah
it's gonna be a tough.

Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
Division but all, right So i'll stickle The, Rams lions,
There viking's, there that's in the.

Speaker 4 (01:20:08):
Books how about THE AFC Sid we're gonna break it.
Down this Is Fox Sports.

Speaker 2 (01:20:11):
Sunday having a lot of fun it's always here on
a fully loaded Sports, Sunday Fox Sports. Sunday we are
in The Fox Sports radio. Studios coming up here in
about twenty, minutes our dear Friend John Palm morossi will join.
Us we'll talk about this weekend series between The dodgers
and The, padres other happenings around the baseball world that

(01:20:31):
will be coming up. Here our, focus, obviously is on
football next week week one full week of college. FOOTBALL i,
mean right off the BAT Vj, Texas Ohio. State hook them, horns, Hoey,
hello hook them. Horns, hello hook them. Horns i'll tell
you it's gonna have a good team this. Year there
and they're they're listed among the. Top clemson's gonna be

(01:20:54):
good this.

Speaker 3 (01:20:54):
Year clemson's gonna be good depending upon what Club nick.

Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
Does but he's a veteran college quarterback usually in, advantage
AND i think klub Nick is could have a big.

Speaker 5 (01:21:07):
Year they got some trap. Games there's a few teams
that's got some Trapper, Listen. Steve when we talk about college,
football it never really shakes out how we. Think so
In august unless it Was bama and safe and right
are when hardball got things right up in Ann, arbor
or When urban had you, know had the studs of

(01:21:28):
studs up at The, horseshoe and then When Pete carroll
had HIS. Usc we can look it open and week and, go,
wow you Know Ohio state And tech injuries, happened trap,
games conference games on the road at? Night first article ever,
red you like to tell the? STORIES i want to
get one in real. FAST i THOUGHT i was gonna

(01:21:50):
be a journalist one. DAY i didn't KNOW i was
gonna be in. RADIO i didn't know it's gonna be IN.
Tv didn't KNOW i was gonna be covering. TEAMS i
THOUGHT i was gonna be a. Writer the first PIECE
i ever wrote was On Kobe bryant about a word
he shout out from the bench to a. REFEREE i remember, That,
okay that was the first and it was Titled Kobe
bryant crosses the?

Speaker 3 (01:22:09):
Line or did?

Speaker 5 (01:22:10):
He and that was my first PIECE i wrote for
a block spot and they posted and put it. Up
my second piece was titled conference games on The road at,
night nightmares or.

Speaker 3 (01:22:22):
Trap games and some of these teams that have to.

Speaker 5 (01:22:26):
Go we saw With bama And, vanderbilt, right we see
these these top ranked teams that go into these, cupcakes and,
yeah they can go in and beat them fifty five
to six or sixty. Three but you go in and
some nights you, blink it's the third, quarter it's eight
twenty one left on the, clock and it's thirteen ten
in a year, down and it's, like what it's Going

(01:22:49):
clemson AS, i LIKE i, SAID i gotta see this
kid going to one of those trap, games one of
those fire pits on A saturday night on THE espn
two when it's not the national, game and see how
how he. Racts BUT i do THINK lsu is gonna
be good in, Order dame's gonna be. Good And michigan
this Kid. Underwood, guys you start paying attention to this

(01:23:13):
quarterback stud that's up. There by the, way they did
just signed a number one running back in the class
for next. Year, OH i THINK i Think michigan's gonna
surprise some teams this year, Also SO i don't think
they're gonna win it, all BUT i just think they're
gonna be.

Speaker 3 (01:23:23):
Better people THINK i.

Speaker 4 (01:23:24):
Get asked these questions about The, heisman like you, know
who's who you?

Speaker 3 (01:23:27):
PICKING i, said look at. IT i, mean let's put.
It in the fifteen years.

Speaker 2 (01:23:30):
That i've been, voting starting With Cam newton's, year more
than half two thirds of the Eventual heisman winners were
on nobody's radar for the.

Speaker 4 (01:23:39):
Season, again Right, newton you Know cam wasn't on a.
RADAR rg three wasn't on a. Radar Johnny manzel wasn't
on a, Radar Lamar jackson wasn't on any But Joe Burrow,
nobody absolutely nobody had. Him anybody Thinking Jayden daniels two
years ago.

Speaker 3 (01:23:53):
Before.

Speaker 6 (01:23:55):
Too.

Speaker 3 (01:23:55):
Small SO i mean, again we'll see how it plays.
Out and, UH i just wish.

Speaker 2 (01:24:02):
AGAIN i hate this twelve school, playoff go. SIXTEEN i
hate the. BUY i hate the buy sixteenth sixteen or
go back to. EIGHT i don't want to see any.
Buys we saw what happened a week a year, ago
four teams all had to buy the all laid an.
EGG i know it's going to happen again with the
twelve school, playoff, now. DON'T i don't believe in twenty
four thirty two anything like. That but you at every

(01:24:25):
other division, level they've had a sixteen school playoff, forever
whether IT'S Fcs division, Two division, three.

Speaker 3 (01:24:33):
Sixteen if you're going to go, twelve go? Sixteen? No What,
no they need to cut back. That, Listen i'm at.
EIGHT i don't go to. Eight i'm mad at. Eight
BUT i got. IT i got it. BETTER i got
even a better. Solution go to, seven and let me
tell you. WHY i don't want to be the one by. Team.
YEAH i do not want to be that one By,
no but you earned the. Rest that's How i'm gonna
look at.

Speaker 5 (01:24:53):
It you earned that worked For oregon last. Year but
the rest they seed it. Wrong that's the problem they.

Speaker 4 (01:24:58):
Were they would a it was a. Number it shouldn't
have been the number one season.

Speaker 3 (01:25:04):
Seed AND i DON'T i, DON'T i, DON'T i don't think.
So but was the one seed being undefeated in The Big?
Ten steve if just because you ask it again doesn't
Mean i'm gonna change my. HEAD i hate.

Speaker 5 (01:25:18):
That i'm not gonna say BECAUSE i hate to. SAY
i just want to focus on the. PLAYOFF i would
like them to GO i am A Big ten, guys
there's no thought it is WHAT i. Am i'm just
not going to say. That but if they go to,
eight you give the five conference champions automatic bids and
then you find just legitimately the next three best teams and,

(01:25:39):
yes appeal. Brand it mattered LIKE i got into this so.
Hardcore Where Air torres on the show last, year s M,
U i'm, Sorry, yes you had a cute little.

Speaker 3 (01:25:51):
Season you aren't Clot Boise.

Speaker 5 (01:25:54):
STATE i know you wanted to Showcase asha Jit, z
but we saw enough of them during the season and
at one whooping they took in.

Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
The playoffs didn't show us anything.

Speaker 2 (01:26:02):
Different they're only lost during the, season a narrow lost
the number One oregon on the.

Speaker 5 (01:26:07):
ROAD i don't, care and we know they had zero
shot at winning the national. Championship no one Thought Boise
state had a. Shot no one THOUGHT smu had a.
Shot no one thought those teams had a. Shot so
why are they even?

Speaker 4 (01:26:21):
There let me ask you, this do you believe That Arizona?

Speaker 5 (01:26:24):
State, no they didn't have a, shot but they were
a conference don't, care don't care what you just.

Speaker 3 (01:26:29):
Said you have the five conference, champions but that doesn't
mean that they got a. Shot they're in fine because
you won your, conference but they don't have a. Shot
but then you're leading teams potentially that are better that
could do you have a.

Speaker 5 (01:26:39):
SHOT i thought a team Like alabama, ship maybe you
should go to the twenty fourteen teammate where they're talking
about let's get let's get six teams out of The
big ten and six out of THE sec.

Speaker 3 (01:26:49):
That kills the regular season go to eight.

Speaker 5 (01:26:51):
Man the more they expand this is the more they're
gonna kill the regular.

Speaker 3 (01:26:56):
Season in the regular season college. FOOTBALL i remember when
the BC yes was out AND i was A bcs.

Speaker 5 (01:27:01):
GUY i know a lot of people didn't like, it
but you know WHAT i felt, like we got every
year the two teams that should have played for the national.
Championship there was.

Speaker 3 (01:27:08):
One or two.

Speaker 5 (01:27:08):
Years there was one or two years WHERE i thought The.
Hurricanes remember that year The hurricanes lost the early game At, Washington.

Speaker 4 (01:27:14):
Yes and they lost and they Beat Florida state. Championship
but there's one or two.

Speaker 5 (01:27:20):
Years but for the most, part the two teams that
were clearly better than everybody.

Speaker 3 (01:27:26):
Else but money rules, sports AND i get.

Speaker 5 (01:27:29):
It but if you continue to, expand and the one
thing about THE bcs era was it was week to,
week you better win because if you, lose you stand
the chance of not getting. There now we have a
national champion last year who didn't beat their rival and
lost To oregon and won The National. Championship the only

(01:27:50):
other time something like that happened was the YEAR lsu
lost two games and won The National championship with less.

Speaker 4 (01:27:54):
Miles, WELL i look.

Speaker 2 (01:27:56):
Eighteens when you talk about, playoffs NEED i remind you
in every professional, sport the team that wins the championship
isn't necessarily the best. Team The patriots lost A Super
bowl with an undefeated team to A giants. Team they
would play twenty times and The patriots would have beaten
them nineteen, times but that one they.

Speaker 3 (01:28:18):
Beat them up, prior remember on That.

Speaker 2 (01:28:20):
Saturday but you can't say that every single, year whether
It's Major League, baseball any of the four major team
sports In, america that at the, end the champion was
the best team that. Year they were the best team that,
day and they earned their way to a championship head to.
Head but in a perspective of the entire, season you

(01:28:40):
can't tell me that that Undefeated patriots team wasn't the
best team.

Speaker 3 (01:28:44):
In THE nfl that.

Speaker 5 (01:28:46):
Year you're, right AND i agree with you that, year
but that's an anomaly for the most. PART i would
SAY i mean Super.

Speaker 4 (01:28:51):
Bowls would have been fifty nine sixty.

Speaker 3 (01:28:55):
Keen, well we all.

Speaker 5 (01:28:56):
Agree out of fifty nine Super, bowls fifty four were
one by the better team fifty.

Speaker 2 (01:29:04):
THREE i, mean give you, NO i think it's less than.
THAT i would say at least ten to twelve teams
that won were not necessarily the best.

Speaker 3 (01:29:12):
Team, OKAY i say. MAYBE i, mean but on that, day.

Speaker 2 (01:29:15):
The day it, Counts so why would it be any
different in a college football? PLAYOFFS i agree with you
the old when we had the UNDEFEATED usc Undefeated, texas
one of the greatest games of all, time about the
ultimate hype for a, game and it exceeded the.

Speaker 3 (01:29:28):
Eye oh, man unbelievable day at the Rose. Ball that
was unbelievable NIGHT i was. There it was anyway.

Speaker 4 (01:29:32):
Anyway but there's a possibility if you had had a
playoff that one of those those teams.

Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
Has a bad. Day see SEE i, remember do you
remember who also had an undefeated team that?

Speaker 6 (01:29:41):
Year.

Speaker 4 (01:29:43):
Auburn auburn was undefeated team that. Year they were screaming.
Foul But auburn would have gotten dusted.

Speaker 3 (01:29:49):
It they'd have got dusted on a bad day by
one of those. Teams so, listen, listen.

Speaker 5 (01:29:55):
Listen first of, All vince shown one gonna have a
bad night AND usc one gonna have a bad. Night
they would have Scraped auburn by twenty and that's Why
auburn went. There and if we Get auburn, there trust,
me we don't get that game because you're telling me
you're either Taking Reggie bush off the field or you're
Taking Vince young off the field to Put auburn on the.

Speaker 3 (01:30:15):
Field and that's just not how this. Works that's WHY i,
say last, YEAR, smu cute.

Speaker 5 (01:30:20):
Season, MAN i get you one to, cut but if
we cut down to, EIGHT smu don't get. IN i,
like let's let's stop this and let's just be honest
About brands means. Something names mean. Something there's a reason
why The Dallas. Cowboys who hasn't won? Anything AND i
listened to you yesterday for about an hour AS i
was running around errors with my. Kids nothing in thirty.

(01:30:43):
Years tell me who's the highest rated football? Team guys
like last year or the last three, years last four year?
Eleven who watches WHAT NFO t get is the most of?
Yours The Dallas. Cowboys it's the. Brand it matters it.

Speaker 3 (01:30:56):
Matters by the, WAY.

Speaker 2 (01:30:56):
I want to correct. Myself it wasn't two thousand and
five that Was. Auburn it was the year before when
sc blew Out oklahoma in THE Bcs championship That auburn had.

Speaker 3 (01:31:04):
The light and that Was Ronnie Brown Cadillac. Williams, that,
yeah it. Was that's going was that was?

Speaker 5 (01:31:09):
That who's the quarterback that got drafted by the played
for the Reds, plates played for and play Well Red
Bandard commanders, now but played for The.

Speaker 3 (01:31:16):
Redskins what is his?

Speaker 6 (01:31:19):
NAME i?

Speaker 4 (01:31:19):
Forget oh my goodness In campbell was the Quarter our
team was. Undefeated they actually won their. Bulgame they ended
up number two in the. Rankings but, yeah they got.

Speaker 10 (01:31:31):
One of the rankings that.

Speaker 3 (01:31:32):
Year well that was YOUR usc blew out ok thank? You,
okay all?

Speaker 4 (01:31:36):
Right coming up on the other, side will switch gears
for a.

Speaker 3 (01:31:38):
Moment we're gonna catch. Up but all The Major.

Speaker 2 (01:31:40):
League, baseball Including Bo's dodgers plumbing in his second place
in THE Nl.

Speaker 3 (01:31:46):
West what's that all? About we're gonna find out For
John Paul.

Speaker 2 (01:31:49):
Morose this Is Fox Sports, Sunday harbin And Hutsky, Here
Fox Sports. Sunday we're in The Fox Sports radio. Studios all,
right it is that time once. Again always a, player
you're always an honor to bring on the best of the,
best and he is that and everything he has ever.
Done he is Our Fox Sports RADIO mlb, analyst the
Great John Paul.

Speaker 4 (01:32:09):
Morosi is a JOINING us. Ride, NOW, jp it is
great to talk to.

Speaker 2 (01:32:14):
YOU i know you're excited about the start of the
college football, season BUT i want to focus in on
what's happening In Major League baseball right. Now the weekend
series rematch between The dodgers and The. Podres dodgers swept
three from The padres at home last, week and The
podres are one went away from sweeping The dodgers this
week In San. Diego so now that we've had plenty

(01:32:35):
of time to watch these two teams head to head
at this point of the, season because they're not going
to play again between now and the postseason, POTENTIALLY i
ask you this, question which is the better team right?

Speaker 3 (01:32:47):
Now The dodgers or The.

Speaker 11 (01:32:49):
Podres The podreys is the, answer And i'll tell you.
Why STEPHEN Bj first of, all thanks for having.

Speaker 6 (01:32:55):
On the show.

Speaker 11 (01:32:56):
Again the REASON i say that, is look at last
night's game and the way in Which Nestor cortez. Pitched
if if The padres have a rotation that will allow
them to match up start for, start pitch for pitch
with what The dodgers, have which is what we've seen
so far in this, series THEN i like The padre

(01:33:20):
bullpen better than The dodger. Bullpen AND i also think
that The padre lineup has become one through nine as,
deep or maybe even deeper than what The dodgers. Have The,
dodgers of, course they've Got, otani they've Got freeman you
saw last night or a couple of months, ago rather
the rally that nearly turned that game into the dodgers.

(01:33:42):
Favor they're still a very dangerous, team And Mookie best
is coming. Around they've got Multiple hall Of famers in that.
Lineup but right, now, GUYS i just think that the
left right balance This padre lineup is better than we've
seen them have in the. Past their bullpen is decidedly,
better better than what The dodgers. Have and we saw

(01:34:03):
last night in someone In Nestra, cortez WHO i think
certainly The padres were excited to get into the, deadline
but he was not the biggest name of what they
got and the way that he. PLAYED i thought last,
night the way that he performed said a ton about
where The padres now find themselves with a one game
lead now in The National League WEST.

Speaker 5 (01:34:23):
Jp always a pleasure talking to, you my good. Man
and as we kind of wind down this, this you,
know down the pipe Of Major League, Baseball i'm gonna
just give you a, wheel, man And i'm gonna let
you spin a. Wheel and just to just tell the,
fans where other Than Dodgers, padres you know what's happened
with The? Yankees and then of course The. Brewers who

(01:34:45):
should we be looking at, saying, hey we know what.

Speaker 3 (01:34:48):
The brewers are. Doing we know what's going on in
THE Nl.

Speaker 5 (01:34:51):
West but you better watch this team could if they
get going or they're in a little roll right, now
they'll knock one of these big boys out of these
playoffs in the wildcard divisional. Round and now we got
something to pay attention to with football going on.

Speaker 11 (01:35:03):
Right, No so here's What i'll say we could have
and this is not a stretch to say, this because
these two teams currently have the two best records in
The American. League we could have An American league championship
series between The tigers and The Blue. Jays these two
teams have never faced in the.

Speaker 6 (01:35:23):
Postseason.

Speaker 11 (01:35:24):
Now back in the, eighties they were often they were
in the same Division American. League eas they had a
number of great intra division tennant races in the pre
wild card, era but they have rarely been great at
the same time since. Then AND i think it's their
two close geographic. Rivals and again right now they've got

(01:35:45):
the two best records in The American. League, now The,
tigers THEY'VE i think recovered a. Bit they had that
really difficult swoon sort of right before and right after
The All star. Break they've improved since. Then Riley green
has now surpassed thirty. Homers When Carrie carpenter is in the,
lineup they're a different ball. Club and then With toronto On,

(01:36:06):
friday the season debut and The Blue jays debut Of Shane,
BIEBER i think changed a lot because now you've got someone,
who now that he's, HEALTHY vj looks LIKE i mean's
not all the way back to me and the guy
was In cleveland when he was a cy young, winner
but he has shown that he has again went healthy
in that upper realm of pitchers in The American league

(01:36:28):
and someone that certainly would start game win Or game
two of a playoff series for. You so you add
an arm like, that which was an absolute masterstroke by
The jays front office at the trade. Deadline their, BULLPEN
i think is. Solid it's not, great but it's at least.
Solid and their lineup you look At vladdie And Boba,
SHET i, mean they're a really really good. Team Dog
varsaw has come along and had a really solid season

(01:36:50):
since being injured at the early beginning of the. Year
SO i think in a lot of, WAYS. Vj as
much as we focus right now in The National, league
and we should Listen, Dodgers, padres great, series great, Penner Race,
brewers unbelievable best record in. Baseball The. PHILLIES i still
think they're as talented as anybody, else but they're not
going to change the.

Speaker 8 (01:37:08):
RULES.

Speaker 11 (01:37:08):
Vj there's still one bid from The National, league right
and one bid from The American league to The World, series,
Right and if you get, there you.

Speaker 6 (01:37:15):
Got a, shot just like The.

Speaker 11 (01:37:17):
Rangers Your rangers surprised a lot of people in baseball
two years. Ago it could be that kind of a
year where The yankees certainly look flawed right, Now Anthony
bolpi will not start tonight against The Red. SOX a
lot of talk right in there about The. Yankees The
Red sox think they're gaining some, momentum BUT i just
think right now we could see a pretty surprising alcs

(01:37:39):
between The Blue jays and The.

Speaker 5 (01:37:40):
Tigers real quick feed to the Fire World series In.
October just your. Feeling who are we watching The.

Speaker 11 (01:37:47):
Milwaukee brewers and The Toronto Blue. Jays i'm Going, wow,
surprising small market. Special, again maybe THE tv executives don't love,
it BUT i love a, surprise And milwaukee is the
smallest full time major league. Market what a story that
would be in in The Blue. Jays canada has. Not
it's Amazing canada won both The Stanley cup and The

(01:38:09):
World series back in ninety three and not since then either.
One SO i think they're due in both the both.

Speaker 2 (01:38:14):
Areas all, right let me ask you to look at
your crystal ball and the more likely scenario as far
as THE Mvp.

Speaker 4 (01:38:20):
Awards on one, hand you would Have Aaron judge and
Show Hey.

Speaker 2 (01:38:23):
Otani the other, hand you Have Cal rawley And Kyle,
schwarber what is the more likely scenario to WIN?

Speaker 11 (01:38:29):
Mvp So i'm right NOW i have Got raleigh in
The American league And o'tani still in The National. League
even Though o'tani is not pitching at the level he once,
did he is still at least doing the two way
things in a way that is just so unique to.

(01:38:50):
Him and SO i Love. Schwarber you could easily cast
a ballot for. Him it's really interesting that you're. Deciding and,
again who would have said this if you just dropped
From mars into this conversation and you did not know
that The National league had adopted THE dh of course years,
ago like ten years, ago you'd, say what you got

(01:39:11):
two dhs vying for THE NL, Mvp like what planet
are we? From and yet here we. Are AND i
think That otani just presents a little bit more of
a unique skill, set although Shore BRA i think is
a very deserving winner, Too and then in The American,
LEAGUE i just think What raleigh does behind the plate
is so. Unique and of, course Now judge with the

(01:39:32):
injuries battling is not in the field to give that
defensive value. ENOUGH i just think That, raleigh again No Faultemarian.
Judges my choice right now would Be raleigh Al OTANI.

Speaker 6 (01:39:43):
Nl.

Speaker 3 (01:39:43):
Yeah and the thing.

Speaker 2 (01:39:44):
About otani because remember when he was you, know with The,
angels the three years that he was, first second and
first in THE, mvp he was nine to, two fifteen to,
nine ten and five low eras he's on one with
a four to sixty ONE. E i, mean he doesn't
in a game actually get a win on his record
as a, pitcher and HIS era is four. PLUS i mean,

(01:40:08):
personally you, KNOW i, mean you could always make an
argument just the fact that he's out there doing. Things
but he's given up more hits than innings this, year
getting lit up by The.

Speaker 4 (01:40:18):
ROCKIES i, mean to, me his pitching aspect has got
to be.

Speaker 2 (01:40:22):
Respectable and, obviously with The angels he, had you, know
he was one of the dominant starting pitchers in The American.
League if he's not, THAT i don't see how you
can count that as a plus on his. Resume, WELL
i mean it, is it is.

Speaker 11 (01:40:39):
VALUE i, mean it's it's thirty innings of value to the.
TEAM i mean it basically is a twenty seven and
a third. Effectively so, again and you're, right we got
to wait and see how he plays out over the next.
Month but you make a very good, point and that right,
Now schwarber forty five, Homers otani forty. Four schwarber the
major league, leader the major league leader IN rbi at one. Nine,

(01:41:01):
now his average is lower than What o'tani, has but
the production is, there and And schwarber takes his. Walks
he's a. FORCE i, mean there's no question about. IT
i guess WHAT i would say, is, again right, NOW
i would Lean. Otani but let's say this. Hypothetically let's
say that The padres win The National League west by four,

(01:41:21):
games which is entirely, possible and that and that The
phillies end up having a better record than The, dodgers
and they win The National League, east And schwarber is
the major league leader IN rbi and The national league
leader at home, runs And otani's got a FIVE vra
and barely pitches the rest of the. Year BUT i
would probably lead To. Shwarber SO i think, that, WELL
i guess it's a long. Way i'm saying there are

(01:41:43):
some years when when THIS mvp discussion is sort of
decided by. Now and What i'm here to tell you.
Is it is not decided at. All and this is
WHY i am not AN mvp voter this, year But
i've been many times in the. Past i'm getting to
vote on some different awards this, year Which i'm excited.
About but And i'm AN mvp, VOTER i purposely do
not look seriously at the credentials of the players until

(01:42:07):
like the middle Of, september BECAUSE i don't want to
be swayed too much about what happens in the first five.

Speaker 6 (01:42:11):
And a half.

Speaker 11 (01:42:12):
Months you got to take a full look at. Things
and If otani is not contributing on the mound to your,
point and if The dodgers lose ground to The, podres
and If schwarber takes off and he finishes like one
hundred and TWENTY, rbi you probably have to Lean, schwarber all.

Speaker 2 (01:42:25):
Right and by the, way to wrap this, up good
luck to Your wolverines taking on that Powerhouse New.

Speaker 3 (01:42:32):
Mexico don't say that to who in your opening game
of the.

Speaker 11 (01:42:35):
Season just, SO i think that The wolverines will be
able to handle The lobos WITH i would say minimal
Strife i'm, expecting But i'll say, This i'll say this
pressure of the world on the young Man underwood to
see how he does it In game. One i'm not
looking for like this convincing you, know four touchdown. WIN

(01:42:56):
i think it'll be like a three touchdown. Win but
you give him some, time some adjustment period in front
of one hundred and ten thousand screaming fans there at
The Big.

Speaker 5 (01:43:04):
House underwood is going to be a maniac this. Year
you remember he this kid has.

Speaker 3 (01:43:10):
It, man he's got.

Speaker 11 (01:43:12):
IT i don't, DISAGREE i JUST i guess What i'd
like to, SAY dj is you gotta REMEMBER i all
the things you're saying are. True but the other thing
is true is he's like an eighteen year old young
man in front of the millions of people watching. It
AND i believe he'll do great with that and understand.
It but but he needs a little bit To i'll
give him a half half of the game to kind of.
Adjust and so if it's if it's fourteen to seven at,

(01:43:34):
halftime don't, panic.

Speaker 6 (01:43:35):
Everybody just let the young man.

Speaker 3 (01:43:37):
Adjust first drive under what leads into the first. Day
guys are killing me with this first drava this. Season, BABY,
Jp we love you, Man thank yous. Always we'll talk
to you down the, Road go, blue all the best,
guys go.

Speaker 11 (01:43:50):
Blue enjoy the enjoyed us out of football. Seas it'snna
be a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (01:43:53):
There he is the Great John PAUL morosei all, right
let's find out what is a trending right now as
we are our attention back to. Month see now we
say it's a huge Sports, sunday but it.

Speaker 6 (01:44:05):
Is.

Speaker 4 (01:44:05):
Yeah you, know we got The Tour championship.

Speaker 3 (01:44:07):
Going on right. Now we're watching that right.

Speaker 4 (01:44:09):
Now tommy fleet with ten million dollars At steak, TODAY i,
mean million.

Speaker 3 (01:44:13):
Dollars must be, nice must be. Nice but with ten
million dollars hanging over.

Speaker 7 (01:44:18):
You i'm over here upset That i'm about my fantasy
football league when it's like one hundred and fifty dollars,
bye or like, payout you know What i'm. Saying SO
i can't even imagine how it would handle ten million
on the. Line but, Yeah Tommy fleetwood in the lead right,
now eighteen under. Par he is through twelve holes in
This Tour. Championship Patrick cantley two shots, Back Russell henley

(01:44:40):
three shots, back And Scotti scheffler now down to five
shots back of this one is sty he does triple
bogie to all.

Speaker 3 (01:44:46):
Home he went in the.

Speaker 7 (01:44:47):
Water yeah wa he double bogie or actually, YEAH i
might have been a Triple actually you might be, right maybe.

Speaker 6 (01:44:53):
Right.

Speaker 4 (01:44:53):
Yeah so he is now five shots back and.

Speaker 3 (01:44:55):
He's through fifteen holes in that. One give it up
for Cal rawly. Guys forty eight home.

Speaker 7 (01:45:02):
Runs Cal raley of The mariners has Tied Salvador petez
for the most home runs by a catcher in a single.
Season and right now The mariners are edging The a's
two to one at is top of the second. Inning
dodgers on the scoreboard against The padres in The San
diego it's one zero bottom of the, First diamondbacks up
on The reds one, zero top of the. Second angels
have scored first against The cubs at, home one zero
bottom of the. Second All rangers so far against The

(01:45:24):
guardians four, zero bottom of the. Six The brewers are
now edging The giants three to two bottom of the
six as. Well White sox are crushing The twins eight
zero top of the eighth. Inning there some of the
games that have wrapped. Up orioles edged The astros three to.
Two braves top The mets four to, three and The
philly is held on three to two against The, nationals
and The tigers just lost at home to The royals

(01:45:45):
ten to, eight while The marlins beat The Blue jays
five to. Three The marlins only like to create drama
and beat teams that are in the running for. Something
only good teams are the teams that The marlins. Beat
in THE, nfl The Minnesota vikings assigned Quarterback Carson wentz
and they have traded Quarterback Sam howel to The. Eagles
raiders Quarterback aidan O'Connell fractured his wrist On saturday. Night
he's going to be out sixty eight weeks and HE

(01:46:06):
spn reports that The browns are releasing Quarterback Tyler, honley
but That cleveland plans to keep.

Speaker 3 (01:46:10):
Its other four.

Speaker 7 (01:46:11):
Quarterbacks Joe, flacco can you Picket Dylan gabriel And Shad
Door sanders on its fifty three man?

Speaker 3 (01:46:16):
Roster that is.

Speaker 2 (01:46:18):
Crazy to keep four quarterbacks on your fifty three man Ter,
MONSIE i, remember, WOW i remember.

Speaker 3 (01:46:24):
That S Your door mightn't even play in THE. Nfl
he might not even play in THE.

Speaker 8 (01:46:29):
Nfl he's still he's still, There he's still there.

Speaker 2 (01:46:31):
There BUT i, mean keeping four quarterbacks on your fifty
three man tells me that you're shopping one of.

Speaker 3 (01:46:37):
Them you're trying to, shop which would to Be.

Speaker 7 (01:46:40):
Kenny you're not going to.

Speaker 3 (01:46:41):
Keep its four quarterbacks picket right like? That you can shop. Out,
yeah But i'm still.

Speaker 5 (01:46:46):
STAYING i Want shador to ask for his, release AND
i Want cleveland to do the right. Thing if you
don't want, me then let me. Go then well if
he doesn't want, wha what?

Speaker 2 (01:46:56):
Whoa if you're keeping him on the fifty three man,
roster then he is trade. Bait you're not releasing, him
a bad trade bait because anybody's willing to make a
trade for can't can't.

Speaker 3 (01:47:08):
Ask for, THAT. Vj you know. WHY i hear what you're.

Speaker 7 (01:47:11):
Saying but it would be a bad look if he did.

Speaker 3 (01:47:13):
That at this, point it doesn't matter what he, does
THOUGH i like that what you're. SAYING i think it's
a bad. Look it's only a bad look if you.
Care mine over.

Speaker 5 (01:47:25):
Matters one of my high school football coach used to tell,
me if you don't MIND, vj it don't.

Speaker 3 (01:47:30):
Matter.

Speaker 2 (01:47:30):
Yeah but at the same, time by keeping him on
the fifty three man, roster The browns are, saying, yeah
we want to keep you one develop is a.

Speaker 3 (01:47:36):
Quarterback he's going to container to move to goal post
on the stand now. There now they're keeping him to trade.
Him now come, on well, no if he's on the fifty.

Speaker 4 (01:47:45):
Three man, ross you're not going to release. Him could
release him right.

Speaker 2 (01:47:49):
Now you're keeping him because EITHER a you believe he
can develop him as a quarterback OR b you're going
to trade.

Speaker 3 (01:47:57):
Him it's one or the. Other they can release him
and bring Back. Tyler they still have four Quarterback, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:48:03):
Well you also Have Deshaun watson. Exactly all, right thank
you very, Much, monsey thank you very Very. Yes by the,
Way monsey And, kerry we'll have their show coming up

right we wanted to get into SOME afc talk right, now,
guys as we get ready for the. Season THE nfc
was sort of easy because we all agree The eagles

(01:48:46):
are up, there and then the only question, is all,
right who is the distant number?

Speaker 3 (01:48:50):
Two for the a F.

Speaker 4 (01:48:52):
C it's a lot more, complicated AND i want to
start things off u with The.

Speaker 3 (01:48:57):
Chiefs. Uh And i've been pretty.

Speaker 2 (01:48:59):
Consistent i've been very consistent with my thoughts leaning up
to the season is that The chiefs what we saw
in The Super bowl is a precursor of things to.
COME i have The Denver broncos winning THE Afc. WEST
i think The Denver broncos as we sit right, now
are a better, team especially on both sides of the.
Line that is a better. Team The chiefs offensive line

(01:49:21):
showed in the postseason they are. Subpar The broncos offensive
line is. Not, Yes Chris jones is a Future hall Of,
famer but The broncos have more depth on their defensive.
Line The broncos are a better team right now than
The Kansas City. Chiefs does that put The broncos in the?
Conversation is THE afc?

Speaker 11 (01:49:39):
Best?

Speaker 4 (01:49:40):
NO i do believe it's going to be one of
two teams it's going to be The bills or it's
going to be The.

Speaker 2 (01:49:45):
Ravens the opening is finally. There they will not have
to get through The chiefs to get to the Super.
Bowl so then it just comes down to, this who's
going to step up biggest in a matchup Between Josh
allen And Lamar jackson for a chance to go to
their First Super. BOWL i will pause right, there but

(01:50:06):
that is my prediction for THE Afc Championship.

Speaker 4 (01:50:09):
Game it will be The, ravens it will be The,
bills and The chiefs will be out of the.

Speaker 3 (01:50:14):
CONVERSATION i can't argue with THAT Afc championship. Game and
that's Because i've been on record And i've been consistent
about The. Chiefs, ALSO i just think this is a
year now they don't take a step. BACK i just
think one of THOSE Afc west teams takes a step.

Speaker 5 (01:50:28):
Up my choice would be The, chargers just BECAUSE i
just Love Jimmy berger's and what he stands for and
what he, does and his record. SHOWS i sat right
here on Our saturday show THAT i had last year
over the last four years and said they're gonna win
more than ten. Games everyone walked at. It, okay, fine
they won. Eleven this is what he. Does he's got the,
quarterback he's got the running. Game they're bigger than. Physical,

(01:50:49):
Yes Lusia Rashaan slater. Hurts it, hurts and it's gonna
take a minute for them to plug this thing. In
but you got old From Nordre. Dame you move him
to left. Tackle they have next guy. Up, men they're.
BIGGER i told you. GUYS i just talked To Derwin
james two days. Ago they're, bigger they're, stronger they're, faster hardball.
Ball the strengthen conditioning guy From michigan that really did
turn that program around over the last four to five

(01:51:11):
years and put those guys all in THE nfl by
the way they train and the way they developed their
bodies into where they're coaching their. Fundamentals so they would
be my pick BECAUSE i just think they can win
another eleven twelve. GAMES i think The chiefs are gonna
probably win eleven twelve. Games then there's gonna be some
tie breakers we have to talk. About but as far
as The Baltimore ravens, go and everybody knows HOW i
feel About Lamar.

Speaker 3 (01:51:31):
JACKS L, jacks that's my. Guy this is the year
he's gotta do. It him And Josh.

Speaker 5 (01:51:36):
Allen we talk about all these other. Quarterbacks those two,
guys to me are on this is your moment this
year twenty twenty, Five Josh allens had four or five
opportunities to do. IT i BELIEVE i would Say lamar's
had about two or three legitimate opportunities to get your
team at least to The Super.

Speaker 3 (01:51:58):
Bowl those two. Guys BUT i just think someone upsets
THIS Afc championship game that you.

Speaker 5 (01:52:04):
HAVE i Just i'm trying to put a finger on,
it BUT i think one of those guys gets knocked
out early and then we can finally wipe our. Hands
and if It's lamar, Guys i'll be the first to
come on air and, say, LOOK i love the.

Speaker 3 (01:52:16):
Guy i've defended them long. Enough but if we say quarterbacks.

Speaker 5 (01:52:21):
Gotta do certain, things then we got to count it
for even the ones that we personally. Like AND i
love the, guy but he's got to get. There you
got all the. Talent that team is loaded this, year
that defense is. Healthier Kyle hamilton on the back end
might be one of the best, young if not the,
best young complete safety in. Football Derrick henry ran for
nineteen hundred yards last. YEAR i Believe Zave flowers is

(01:52:42):
the Next Tyreek hill type of player coming. Up they
got weapons all around and there's no. Excuses BUT i.

Speaker 3 (01:52:48):
Just feel like someone steps in and upsets this. Thing,
Man AND i like your. PICK i think it's a
good pick to.

Speaker 5 (01:52:54):
Make but if The bengals can just stop, anybody, right
that tool stays on The. Firs so many, variables with
so MANY, afc, honestly with so MANY.

Speaker 3 (01:53:04):
Afc teams so, frustrating IS.

Speaker 5 (01:53:06):
Cj stroud gonna take that step because they got a,
defense they got.

Speaker 3 (01:53:10):
Weapon, like were you singing the praise Of Jim?

Speaker 4 (01:53:12):
Harbaugh so you don't believe What Paul finebaud said That
Jim harbaugh is a total fraud and that he stole
a national?

Speaker 3 (01:53:18):
Championship you honestly think THAT i listened to?

Speaker 5 (01:53:20):
Anything do, you, guys honestly think THAT i listened to
anything that That paul Fine bahm says about my, Man Jimmy.

Speaker 3 (01:53:27):
Burgers do you THINK i listened to total fraud and
that he's stolen national?

Speaker 5 (01:53:32):
Championship do you think sec what anybody says negatively about
my Man Jimmy, burgers it's.

Speaker 3 (01:53:39):
Ants it's an emphatic.

Speaker 4 (01:53:41):
No he would welcome them to THE sec And hardy
in a Heart.

Speaker 2 (01:53:45):
Okay on the other, side, BO i want to get
your thoughts picked for THE Afc championship. Game i'm still
hedging on a, winner BUT i got MY Afc championship
game set that coming.

Speaker 3 (01:53:57):

Very quick because again we're we're talking nothing about, football
BUT i haven't seen you in a. While, uh and
we know your thoughts About Caitlin. Clark do you feel
like how do you feel about the treatment she has
received from.

Speaker 6 (01:55:03):
The w N.

Speaker 12 (01:55:03):
B A oh, Man she's been out injured for so.
Long it's LIKE i feel like people forgot about. Her you,
know she hasn't been in a game where she could
uh get not get the calls or you, know get
some kind of you, know she's been she's just been
out of the limelight for so. LONG i mean when She,
yeah they have an official there's an officiating issue in
the in the W.

Speaker 3 (01:55:20):
Nba, okay we all agree on.

Speaker 12 (01:55:22):
THAT i, mean whether it's A Kelsey, plumb you, know
anybody who's just not they're not getting they're not calling
the right, fouls they're not and then there's like you,
know certain fights and. Stuff it's just it's not well.
Officiated hopefully with the influx of money they hire some
some better. OFFICIALS i, Mean i've said that this. SEASON
i know they were bragging about their attendance was up
this year or. Whatever to, me it's been a from

(01:55:42):
a pr, standpoint.

Speaker 3 (01:55:44):
A Disastrous.

Speaker 4 (01:55:46):
Like we WERE pr nightmare story after another for the W.

Speaker 3 (01:55:51):
Nba to, me it's Past Caitlin.

Speaker 5 (01:55:53):
Clark now it really is like you, said this might have,
been and you you And i've talked about, it agreed
on parts and bumped headline. PARTS i don't feel sorry for,
her but it's just almost, like, okay, guys let's kind
of just let the girl. Play really like these stories
like shador we can only talk About kaitlyn and.

Speaker 3 (01:56:14):
Like it's we're going on like three years in this,
now man, like and there's so much to. Talk wilson is,
bad like she is. Balling no one says a word about.

Speaker 5 (01:56:23):
It we're more worried about sticking the camera In Angel
reese's face about her HER nba TWO k ray.

Speaker 2 (01:56:30):
Ranking when your only publicity seems to be negative over
and over and over and over, again you're doing a lousy.

Speaker 3 (01:56:37):
Marketing they need a new entire P.

Speaker 5 (01:56:40):
R they need a consultant to come in and sit
THE pr people down and go look and LIKE i,
said we're not making this About Kaylyn.

Speaker 3 (01:56:47):
Clark we got made this about the W.

Speaker 5 (01:56:48):
Nba, first, Guys let's get some positivity going because you
guys are we're in this clickbait world where let's throw
it at what's gonna get because that's what's gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:56:57):
Get clicks is all that. Stuff but Even i'll ask,
you are you tired of? It and this is your?
ACCOUNT i Will, sam she, WAS i Would.

Speaker 12 (01:57:05):
Taylor, YEAH i, mean first of, all she needs to
get healthy and. Play but like, that The fever are
having a cursed. YEAR i, mean even if she does
come back and they squeak into the, playoffs, like what
are they going to?

Speaker 3 (01:57:16):
Do they don't.

Speaker 12 (01:57:16):
Know they've lost a lot of, people so they need
their stars. Healthy and then, yeah hopefully everything in year
three is good to.

Speaker 2 (01:57:24):
Go, Sam great to have you, here all, right, BO
i want to get your thoughts. Now give us AN
Afc championship game. Match you don't even have to beg a.
Winner give me the two teams you think will face
off in THE Afc Championship.

Speaker 10 (01:57:36):
Game, YEAH i. DON'T i also think that The chiefs
The Super bowl is kind of a poor thing because
you can't go to that Many Super, bowls play that
many extra, games, right and just keep coming out of
the other side like they were not a good team last.
Year everybody knew that they were not a good.

Speaker 3 (01:57:53):
Team all year. Long bo we said we did that.
Fast question how they kept by the.

Speaker 4 (01:58:00):
WAY i get it That Travis kelcey doesn't want to
end his career with that kind of a, game but
he should show because.

Speaker 3 (01:58:07):
His game was way.

Speaker 10 (01:58:08):
DOWN i think about that playing in The Super bowl
all the, time Where mahomes is scrambling for his life
And kelsey's just standing there until he realizes that the
play is still. Lift but it has to Be buffalo Or,
baltimore and if it's, not THEN i Think lamar And
Josh allen should both just retire on the. Spot, yes
at some, point the giving's got to. Give you guys
got to do.

Speaker 3 (01:58:26):
Something are you with me On? Denver?

Speaker 10 (01:58:28):
No, NO i don't believe in Bon.

Speaker 3 (01:58:30):
Nicks you don't believe in Bo, Nicks Sean.

Speaker 10 (01:58:33):
PAYTON i think in five, years if you go back
and rank the quarterbacks in that, CLASS i think Bo
nicks is firmly at the bottom of the. List no.

Speaker 3 (01:58:39):
Way, yeah you guys are just on H BUT i
also don't Like Sean.

Speaker 10 (01:58:44):
KAYDEN i thought it was so funny a couple of
weeks ago when they were talking About Sean payton devising
the secret formula that told him That Bo nicks was
actually the best quarterback in the. CLASS i think if,
uh he was.

Speaker 3 (01:58:54):
The second best rookie quarterback last.

Speaker 10 (01:58:56):
Year, YEAH i think If Sean payton had Drafted Caleb,
williams the formula would have told That Caleb williams is
the best. Quarterback it's just the kind of Guy Sean payton.

Speaker 5 (01:59:02):
Is but we also have to, remember if people, forget
once again full, context they were trying to trade.

Speaker 3 (01:59:08):
Up they were trying to trade.

Speaker 1 (01:59:11):
Up for Bow.

Speaker 3 (01:59:12):
Nick they want he WANTED j, McCarthy thank you somebody
else here and midst that with.

Speaker 5 (01:59:16):
Me he Wanted JAY j, McCarthy, okay and that's why
The bikes went up and trade it with The.

Speaker 3 (01:59:22):
Jets, Okay so go get.

Speaker 2 (01:59:24):
IT i WILL i will ask this question knowing where
your answer is at the end of this season, upcoming
which quarterback will have a better record in twenty twenty?

Speaker 4 (01:59:34):
Five Bow knicks OR jj. McCarthy j.

Speaker 3 (01:59:37):
McCarty all, right now you guys are both.

Speaker 4 (01:59:39):
Wanted but that's, okay that's okay to ask.

Speaker 5 (01:59:42):
The set up question because it's a team that gets the.
Record now you want to tell you a better team
than and you want to ask who plays. BETTER jj
McCarthy's gonna. Outplay both are a better team than The
minnesota until until.

Speaker 3 (01:59:56):
Somebody you guys don't believe, it but believe, me they
are a better.

Speaker 4 (01:59:59):
Team all, right we've done it for today Episode god your,
help don't go, Anywhere Marci, Belgios Kerrie rods are coming
up right here On Fox Sports.
