Speaker 3 (01:20):
We birthed this show because youth sports is just a huge, huge,
multi billion dollar industry and we're all about it, right,
like you know, you see it. I had a call
yesterday about about a youth sports project of more of
a scripted television show about nil and the whole world.
(01:43):
And you know, when you're educating people on it, they're
jaw drops, like, what do you mean high school kids
are getting paid you know, hundreds of thousands of dollars.
And you know that's part of the whole landscape now,
is that it's not just college, it's all so you know,
(02:05):
drizzled drips down the high school Danny.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yeah, it just trickles down and it's so interesting and fascinating.
And again every day we're learning something new, which is
so cool about it. There's always so much evolving in
this industry. And again because it's a business, it is
a billion, multi billion dollar industry. If money is being
dumped into it every day, it's always evolving and we're
(02:29):
just trying to stay on top of it and give
these people the knowledge and education to navigate this crazy
world that we're living in now, in the youth sports
world where it's one of the biggest businesses in the
entire country.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Yeah, and I want to make sure that any of
you sports parents out there who have any questions, please
hit us up on social media once again, we'll give you.
I'm at Anthony Elgargano on Twitter x Anthony Lewis Gargano
on Instagram. You want to send us your videos? Well,
you want to send us any questions, any guidance. We
(03:03):
have a great trainer on today, Joe Ferrero, who is
gonna we're gonna talk a lot about body development for
youth athletes. Like yesterday, my seventh grader is like, dude, Dad,
I want to go to the gym. And so I
had given him like rudimentary lessons on lifting, and he's
(03:27):
just kind of starting to get into it, like he's
you know, right away, because he's a seventh grader, a
twelve year old boy. He's like, I don't know, do
you think I can betch one thirty? I'm like maybe,
but you're not doing that. We're going to start you
off slow, and we want to go it's gonna be
lightweight and it's going to be higher reps, and we're
(03:50):
gonna make.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Sure that we do it in a healthy way.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
And so Joe's going to talk a lot about the
body development and the training aspect and then the old
one that I.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Have needs to get speed Dan and.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
You know Ball Cooper get faster right quick Twitch show
Joe's las star at that.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Yeah, Joe is super knowledgeable. He started his own gym
which is growing every day. He works with a lot
of high profile high school sports teams and individuals, and
he has a wealth of knowledge in the world. And
it's exciting when your kid wants to take that leap
and get into that realm, because not every kid wants
to write, so it's exciting that Massimo has interest in it.
(04:30):
But you have to be very careful, right because your
body is growing, it's developing in these early stages, and
you need to make sure you're doing it the right
way right. You don't want to hurt yourself long term.
But it is great when they show passion or you know,
excitement to get into the weight room because that's something
that even later in life people got to push themself too.
So it's a great thing when they're hungry for it.
(04:52):
But you just have to make sure we're going about
it the right way. And Joe will give us a
lot of dudes and don'ts and give us a lot
of knowledge on how to go about it and how
to grow and develop your body. And I've seen Joe
firsthand some of the kids that he's worked with, Right,
they came in goofy and they couldn't you know, run
you know, very quickly, or had no twitch, and he
(05:14):
knows how to break down the body and attack it.
And he does a great job in really developing these
young athletes.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
And well, I know a lot of his athletes, uh,
including one's going to Penn State next year who's going
to be a stud defensive end.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
You know.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
I mean, listen, you're gonna play football, You're gonna play basketball,
you're gonna play baseball. You neat quick twitch, you're gonna
run track like soccer, you know any of this stuff.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
You're gonna need a quick twitches is everything with it?
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Yeah, yeah, it's you need your little advantages, right, what
can separate you? Right, because so many people are so
talented and there and their bodies are growing and they
can be big and tall and strong, But it's all
about how you separate yourself and these little, these little
intricacies that you can add. Joe is really great at
showing you the tricks to get there and how to
(06:09):
really hone that that speed, hone that twitch right. So
he's really knowledgeable and he'll be able to get, you know,
give us some really cool insight into how he develops
these young athletes.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
All Right, So what I want to do to start,
because we're going to be doing this for every sport
and we're going to give you updates. So we have
compiled a list of the top ten play football players
in the country. So one of the things you like
to do on the show is highlight some really standout kids
(06:42):
and kids that you want to look at for the
next level.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Kids that listen.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
You know, a little bit later on, Jeff Schwartz will
come and join me and we'll be talking about college
football and baseball and the playoffs and Phillis Dodgers. But
we'll be talking about college football and a lot of
these kids that we're going to talk about are gonna
be at your big Tide programs, uh, that are already committed.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
So we want to kind of shine a light on
these kids. Uh.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
You know, these these players, Dandy the kids now, I
admire them because they're really dedicated. You know, you see
that a lot of these elite kids, they're working man,
they're they're they're not.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
They're not.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Nobody's giving it to them, right, Like they're they're studying
the game, even these quarterbacks, like what they're putting in
and their knowledge of the game is so far superior
then certainly when I was, you know, in high school.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Point.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Yeah, at that high level, you have to be truly
dedicated or you won't be able to continue to compete,
right because look down down's great, but if you're not
working hard, it's going to go to waste, especially in
today's world where everything's at your fingertips and everyone's looking
for that little advantage like we're talking about, So you
got to work hard, and that really would separate these kids.
(08:04):
It's I mean, obviously it's great to be six five,
three hundred pounds or whatever this case may be, but
if you're not working, someone's going to pass you. So
they're putting in so much time and energy to really
hone their crafts and and.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
They're also study and they're working with trainers now like Joe,
So there's a lot of individual trainers, there's a lot
of you know, specials year around kids, and they're just
putting a lot of time into their into their craft.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Right, Football footballs is.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Different because you know, now it's although it's becoming like
the other ones because of seven on seven, So now
it's not just in the fall, and then you know
you're off season training now it's seven on seven. In fact,
I had I had a conversation that they're worried about
(08:55):
the quarterbacks because of seven on seven. So it's they
haven't had duress. Seven on seven. You got no duress, right,
And you're looking and you're just you know, it's all
about pretty throws and hitting windows and you see these
kids and you're great at it.
Speaker 4 (09:16):
But.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Don't translate it, well, not when.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
It's not when it's chaos in the pocket. I mean,
look at kid like look at guy like nuss Meyer,
who is terrific, right.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Could throw the ball beautiful, but all of.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
A sudden, there's chaos in the pocket, and it's a
different story. That's why kids like Costellanos from Florida State
are doing so well, are doing well because they came
from small schools where they're used to having to deal
with the rest in the pocket.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
I mean you can't really simulate real action on seven
and seven. It's great, right, you can. You're throwing the ball.
You're getting some action, you're trying to, you know, get
come some camaraderie with receivers and you're seeing some defenses.
It's not the game simulation, right, and you can get
bad habits from it if you're not going about it
the right way. On top of it, right, you want
to make sure that you're using as a tool, not
(10:10):
something where it's like a comfort and you're not really
continuing to grow your game.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Yeah, it was interesting because we see with art matting right,
like you know, you when there's chaos and there's stress
in a pocket, that's the way you learn, man, that's
how you get rid of the football. Listen, we all
love the beautiful arm the justin Herbert, you know, constructed
(10:35):
in a lab type of quarterback. But you gotta be
tough and you got to be gritty and you got
to deal with pressure in your face and stand tall.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Oh for sure. And again it's hard to simulate that
and regardless, but you got to just use this as
a tool and go about it the right way. I
think it's the mindset going into it and how how
you go about your work, especially in the seven on sevens.
What you're doing after the fact and you know, trying
to take the pieces that are positives from it to
translate over to your game when you're actually on the field,
(11:07):
dealing with lineman, dealing with hands in your face, dealing
with the pressure of getting hit, you know, making the
right decisions.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
All right.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
So we have a great list, our top ten. This
is our top ten that we've compopped. You have seen
all these players personally, you and I were kind of
compiling this top ten. Let's unvalid, all right. Starting at
number ten, linebacker Xavier Griffin from Gainesville High in.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Florida, Georgia, Georgie, Gainesville, Yep. So he's elite. And again,
just a preface this list. I think guys in the
top fifteen in the country, they're all interchangeable, right, They're
elite people. There's a bunch of different lists. This is
just our list of guys we've talked about. And a
cool thing about being an athletic director, I get to
watch a lot of film, I get to watch different games, right,
(11:59):
So getting the eyes on people all over the country
is something that's really exciting and I love doing it
in my downtime. So you know, we're just kind of
all in on these on these kids, and we just
want to kind of highlight them and again from all
over the country. But Xavier Griffin six three, two hundred
pounds another great He's going to University of Alabama. A
great mindbacker coming out of there.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
I feel like they've been kind of taking over his
linebacker you and I mean, I know Penn State was
for a while, but they've been putting Bama Bama.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
Listen, front seven is Bama and Georgia. Right, Yeah, that's
your front seven.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
D b U is still l s U. Yep, for sure,
Miami a little bit.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Miami. Miami's front's pretty good. That game is gonna be
great tonight. Miami, Florida State.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
Yeah, all right.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
Then number nine, you got Jackson Cantwell, right, he's going
to Miami.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
He's a big tackle. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Adam Missouri and so I don't usually don't see a
lot of Missouri guys on these top ten lists, but
this kid is six', eight three hundred and twenty five.
Pounds oh my, god offensive, tackle great, feet he can, move,
man he has unlimited potential going To university Of. MIAMI i,
think you, know he's just growing a lot of these
(13:19):
kids a lot of these big guys don't really start
playing football till. Late so he's been playing football at
a high, level you, know for four or five years.
Now but he he. Is his ceiling is it's so high.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
And uh six three twenty. Five, yeah, monster and if
senior in high.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
School, yeah, man it's crazy to think out of the
great state Of missouri and next to high. School so, wow, elite. Elite,
uh he's got good, feet she, said what being ahead
of the, Game, man he's going to do.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
Well god Bless Miami, Lands. Miami it's a big. Deal
came on the way back in a big.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Way.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
Man, yeah they're working. Hard you, know obviously they were
a big power for a long, time but they're working.
Hard they've, been you, know flirting around the top ten
and the landing high school recruits in the last couple of.
Years so they've done a really good job investing in
Nil they're one school that's not scared to pay and
they have a really big collective along with you, know
the school supporting. It so they've been flirting around the
(14:24):
top ten to fifteen the last couple of years of.
Recruiting so they've been they've been back they're trying to
get back in a big way and they've, been you,
know showing it with this high school. Recruitment, yeah that's.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Wild all, right let's move through the.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
List Faison, brandon quarterback who is going To.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Tennessee, yeah so a, lot it.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Depends you, know quarterbacks usually dominate the, list right and
depending on your. List he's a top four. GUY i
ONLY i got to see him a few. Times so
he's out In North, carolina out Of. Greensboro he's sixty,
four two hundred. Pounds he's going To university Of. Tennessee
he can do it. All he's he's very. Quick he's
that dual threat, quarterback but he can sling it if
(15:05):
you give him a. Second he's got a quick release
and he can launch the ball. Downfield so, again another
huge upside. Guy you, Know tennessee's really been working. Hard
they did during the top ten in the recruitment right,
now and they've been the last couple of. Years but you,
know hopefully the air apparent for. THEM i know they
had a lot of quarterback drama coming into this, season
(15:26):
BUT i think he's he's next up in that at
ut and the great tradition they have.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
There all, right another quarterback you have Seven Jared curtis
who's going To.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Georgia, yep he's From Nashville Christian High school In, Nashville.
Tennessee six four two twenty. Five more of a pocket,
passer but you, Know georgia, again they get the winners out.
There he gets killed on a high.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Level and, uh, YEAH.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
I Think, georgia you, know they know what they're doing over.
There Kirby smarty knows what he's. Doing they get the
right quarterback for their. System he's more of a pocket,
guy but a guy that can really dissect the defenses
and sit back and has a great, processing sees the
seals to feel great and has a huge upside as.
Well but, yeah out Of, Tennessee Nashville Christian High, school all.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Right, Uh Kanni pepe is going TO. Usc he's AN img,
kid big.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Tackle another huge kid and six seven three twenty geez.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Having three Twenty, yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
Another kid that's kind of a little bit of, raw
but like has the, size has the you, know has
all the, upside has the. Ability but uh, yeah going
out To southern Cal so he's down IN img and
uh In florida right, now they're a top five school
in the. Country they're undefeated currently and a lot is
because you, know he's protecting the. Quarterback he's doing his. Job,
yeah he's giving a time to process and uh, yeah,
(16:57):
MAN usc they're doing it. Too another team that right,
now as of, today they are the number one team
in the country as far as the twenty twenty sixth.
Class they have thirty two. Commits, yeah they're going to
be back twenty.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Two down style is going to end. SOON i think
he'll be. Back.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
Uh at number, five you Have Derek cooper running back
who's going To texas From Shamana prepp.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
Yep hook Them horns out Of, florida out Of, Hollywood,
florida six two two oh, five big, back but, man

that opening weekend down at The Florida. Showcase you give
him a, hole he's, Hitting he's.
Speaker 2 (17:34):

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Six to two great. Backer running. Back reminds Me Chris.
Johnson yep can get. Downhill but you know he's a bigger,
back but he can. Fly. MAN i don't know if
he to know.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
That and that's Who Chris johnson Was remember he was
six to, two kind of an upright, runner but but
was very. Fast he can burst through a.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Hole, yeah elite. Speed and yeah he's going To. Texas
so he'll be going down there with our guy Did.
Bell they're a big one two punch For. TEXAS i Know.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
David was about to crack the top ted two. Quarterback
who Is Rajah bell's.
Speaker 1 (18:12):

number six in the recruiting class for twenty twenty, Six,
Dave all.
Speaker 3 (18:19):

they've been getting the elite. Receiver so if you're a,

Speaker 3 (24:19):
You buddy by, the way a public congratulations on.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
Your nuptials thank you.
Speaker 6 (24:25):
Appreciate that you.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Guys look fantastic getting Married. In italy, oh man it.
Speaker 6 (24:31):
Was beautiful it, was amazing.
Speaker 2 (24:33):
Like, A.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Dream JOE so i want to start because you know
we're going to talk about like how do you ascertain
speed and quick twitch and. And EVERYTHING but i want
to start because my, little one uh really has an interest.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
In lifting, he's.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Twelve and, you KNOW so i was, with him and
you know we did, you know light badch AND where,
i worked WE were i HAD different i had a
new difference stuff shoulders and and uh we did some
some bicep work and. And everything what parents get a
little squeeze because you're not sure as to when to.
(25:11):
Start lifting what's your advice with weight training?
Speaker 6 (25:14):
With, KIDS well, i, THINK uh i think that you
can start kids weight training at a pretty. Young age
there's real there's no real evidence that, says that you
know what we were caught back in the day that,
you know if they can stunt your growth at such a.
YOUNG age i think you definitely. Want to, you know
(25:35):
you're going to look at your athletes and see what,
they need, you know start them off with body weight
and stuff, like that but you could definitely get them
into lifting light weights as long as you know they're they're.
Moving appropriately is.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
There any just to follow up? On that is there
any uh things you shuggest like LIKE we i had
him do the bar like they was him and his
buddy and, you Know and i'm not like He's, LIKE
doddy i could bet one hundred. AND thirty, i, went
dude just listen, to me, All right we're gonna do
it safe way all right before before you want to
(26:12):
eat the whole pizza right once likes of, the Time and,
i'm like let's work out with, the bar and we
were doing a lot of like, you said. Body weight
explain that using their weight to kind of start The, PROCESS.
Speaker 6 (26:26):
Yeah, i MEAN because i see kids around, six seven,
you Know and i'm going to see how they how
they just move. In General so i'm going to put
them through a little bit of a movement screen and
just see how they how they move and, and yeah
most of them do lack the strength that they need
(26:46):
to actually. Be fast it's not really a. Coordination issue
it's it's really that they just lacked. The strength, so
yeah we're going to make sure that they can. Move efficiently,
you know can they perform basic movement pattern? The squad
can they do some sort of a press whether you,
want to, you know whether you start with a, push up,
(27:07):
you know so you have, you know can they pull
can they pull? Themselves up, you know a pull up
is a great, great way you know, to see, you
know a, young athlete, you know how strong they are
for their. Actual size so you want to you want
to look at that stuff before kind of getting into
(27:28):
maxes and anything. Like that but you really want to
see if they can. Move efficiently.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
It's Interesting, So joe you're you're basically saying like there's
a couple of things you should go through and. PUSH
up a pull up a great ways to kind of
gauge what their strengths are and then how we can go,
from there and then you know you can kind of
gradually grow from that that. Starting phase, oh.
Speaker 6 (27:51):
Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely yeah, you, know uh you know these
young athletes that, come in You know i'm, having them do,
you know you'll start off with the body weight squad
they'll do, You know i'm want to see if they
can do a, push up, AND yeah i might hand
them some like dumbbells and see how how they respond
and how they react. To that, you know but we're
(28:13):
we're really not trying to, you know hurt them or anything.
Like that you just want to you want to see
how their. Body responds so, but yeah absolutely a, push up,
a squat a pull up, Are, great uh basic measures
of how strong an athlete. Can be for their.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
Own, guide joe, Real quick, I'm, sorry dande just.
Speaker 3 (28:39):
Real quick what's the relationship between your growth spurts and?
Working OUT because i guess. Story knows growth spurts is
the time when you're more susceptible and the role of
puberty in this, Whole, thing like how do you?
Speaker 6 (28:56):
Navigate, THIS well, i mean obviously you want to, you
know any any trainers going to, you know really, you
know do their, you know just make sure that, these
kids they're not putting these kids in any any. Particular
predicament but as far as like the grossper, you know
as long as you're you're training, uh safely you're not training.
(29:17):
To maxis i'm not one rep max And these i'm
not even three rep macs and, you know these, young athletes,
you know but you're you're just applying the appropriate weight
and not really putting them in. Any danger so as
far as, the grosspers that doesn't really come into a
factor too much unless you're really overloading, these KIDS which
(29:37):
i don't think any any trainer in the right mind would.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
Would, do joe what what are some of the biggest
mistakes you see people from the outside when they're trying
to train. Young athletes what are some, you know common
issues that you'll see from the outside as someone who
does this for.
Speaker 6 (29:51):
A LIVING one i, WOULD say i, would say, you
know when they when a parent is trying to get
their young athletes to, to list, you know they're, you
know they're having them lift. The basics what do we
know like? Bench, press everyone, you know we always want to,
bench press, you know that was that was the that was.
THE market i find parents will do more body regions
(30:14):
specific versus, training them, you know training them overall in
a full full body type. Of way AND then i
would say that a lot of times kids, aren't training
they're not training or strength training and not and they're
not working on specific. Qualities enough they're unually, you Know
(30:39):
playing now we see, with sports they're playing year round
and they're not giving themselves the opportunity to build up
the strength and qualities they need to go further down.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
The, line well you, know. What y'all you, know again
the light just. Goes off.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
You're right one of the other problems is when you're
doing a sport, Year round, you're right you're not also
taking time to build your body and build those other
facets that would make, you great like, in football instead
of playing seven, on seven you know, your training you'd
be probably getting better off by training right and doubling
(31:22):
down and trying to get your establisher Quick.
Speaker 6 (31:24):
Twitch, absolutely yeah you want to, you know, get stronger,
get fafter build up, resilient tissue, you know protect yourself
from from injury down, the line get, you know get to. Git, stronger. Yeah.
ABSOLUTELY yeah i think with youth sports, right now you
know everybody who's, you know looking, to uh looking for
(31:47):
The Next leo messi, or whoever and they're just playing
their sport year round and not not building up the.
Actual qualities they need speed in the trend, For.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Sure joe and then You know I've see I'm At
penn chardon now it's a co, ed School so i'm
working on the girl's side. A, lot now do boys
and girls need different approaches when we're coming to developing speed?
And strength like for a parent out there that might
have a daughter that's, you, know, seven, eight, nine ten
and they're looking to, you know they're really passionate about a, sports,
soccer basketball, you know, field. Hockey lacrosse what do you
(32:19):
think there's a different approach or or do you kind
of keep it the same with the boys and? Girls,
ATHLETES no i mean the.
Speaker 6 (32:28):
Girls need the. Same thing they need to, get stronger,
you know they they need good. Core controls, So no
i'm training the young ladies the same WAY as i
was as.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
My, guys hey real, quick joke because we all forgets
that we really appreciate your time this morning and your
your expertise.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
Quick twitch like.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
You know we always say like quick and you see
it like and it's every sport, like baseball.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Like, you know just that kind.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
Of.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
Movement uh the best way to ascertain.
Speaker 6 (33:02):
Quick twitch, Uh yeah so, you know developing developing strength.
And power so if we're talking, about uh young athletes,
middle school early, high school, you know we're gonna we're
gonna get them stronger, for, one okay so they have
to they have to, get stronger and and then we're
(33:22):
gonna we're gonna work on specific qualities. Like power, you
know we might, do jumps we might do spring med.
Ball throws all those are expressions. Of power so so
we're gonna we're gonna start with that at a at an,
early age and that's gonna, you know help them with
that that. Twitchy nits, you know some some kids are
just be you know a little bit more twitchy than others.
(33:45):
Early on but that's not that we can that we can't.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
Develop getting that, burst right you have to you have
to kind of hone in on. That BURST and i
like how you say you tack it with you know
a strength at uh as, you know a strength attack
where you're saying you want them stronger in these certain
areas so they. Can, explode right you have to build
up these different areas opposes just doing your.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
Regular.
Speaker 6 (34:05):
Lifting, yeah yeah they definitely have to. GET stronger i
think getting stronger kind of kind of just kind of
raises the bar for everything that, helps you helps you,
move fair helps you be, more explosive helps you. Become powerful,
without strength you can't do any Of the so we
are building the foundation of strength and certain, movement patterns
(34:26):
and we're also at the same time we can also
stuck them into early early waves. Of POWER like, i
said med, ball, throws, blood gumps bringing, you know those
are all expressive expressions of speed.
Speaker 3 (34:41):
And power well that's, So, fascinating joe so, really interesting fast.
Thinking stuff we, really. Appreciated buddy thanks for your time.
This morning if people want to get a hold, of

Speaker 3 (36:00):
The air, ALL right i got a couple of questions
for you from. The audience, in fact one of my
buddies who is a big listener and.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
Loves you.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
Bill is, his Name and Bill, Said, Bill, Hey danny,
he said my son and. Lacks confidence he lacks, excuse.
Me assertiveness, he said what's the? Best way, he said
he's eleven years old and he's, really, shy right and
(36:34):
he's a pretty. Good athlete and in both baseball. And
basketball but like, he's, like dude you gotta. Get calm
you got to be, a killer and especially like in
basketball where you can't.
Speaker 4 (36:47):
Be.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
Sheepish, yep no it happens a lot and and to
bill a lot, of kids, YOU know i know it's
everyone wants to have it. Right away sometimes the switch just.
Goes off i've seen it happen at so many different
insistance across different sports where kids the light bulb goes
off and they know what they can. Do right so
a lot of it. Is TIMING but i would say
(37:08):
keep putting them in, uncomfortable situations even at a. Young,
age right they have to be comfortable with, The, uncomfortable
right and if you allow them to, JUST shoy i
don't want to do this. And anything and, YOU know
i think it's translated, to sports but, you know outside,
of sports you got to kind of push them to
get outside their. Comfort zone you want to be comfortable
in an, uncomfortable situation and you have to continue to
(37:31):
kind of just guide and and not, you KNOW not
i don't want to, say push but put them in
situations where they might feel a, little weird feel, you
know not that's their that's their, main area right where
their most comfort and really, make them, you know live
in that environment and as far as, sports, go right getting,
them on getting them as much action as, you, can right,
you know put them in leagues and again we talked
(37:53):
about this a couple of. WEEKS ago i think it's
great to be on certain teams if you're if, you're
developing if the coaching is, really great but also so
sometimes you gotta get you gotta be on, the field
you got to be on. The, court right putting them
in those situations where they got to they get their
getting that opportunity to grow that. Confidence LEVEL and i
think it. Will come and again it comes to, different
ages it comes to different periods and times. In LIFE
(38:14):
but i think one way to kind of speed up
that process is to can continue to push them into, certain.
AREAS right i think that's.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
Brilliant man, you know little things like make them order at,
a restaurant make them, you know go And like i'll give.
MY kids i used to do this all, the TIME
where i give my kids money and they have, to
go like, you know the at a kind of rock
corner store type of thing where they, wanted uh, you
(38:41):
know we had to go get the loaf of bread.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
And whatever.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
We're here you pay, for, it right like you say
hello to the person behind, the register and.
Speaker 1 (38:54):
YOU know i. Love it and there's the little. Things
right you can be so creative. With it it's a
little things, of ordering, right said little things of, making them,
you know go pick up the. Food right little things
like that can really. PUSH kids i, Love, that yes
like they're.
Speaker 3 (39:07):
Ordering things funny because my little one didn't want to.
Do it, i'm, like dude if you, don't order you.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
Don't eat.
Speaker 1 (39:13):
And they want to eat in. That, House boy i've.
Seen them, boy again. BIG man i think.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
It's, IMPORTANT man i just think, you know There's A.
Steven ohio. I'm sorry we'll get to your question. Next
week it's. About positions, in fact it's a great topic
to get into because kids are getting pigeonholed into positions
at a way too young of. An age so we'll
continue to, be. Different, Right, YES yeah I love i.
Love it people want to get a hold, Of you
(39:38):
