where the Pittsburgh Steelers held on to beat the Minnesota

know you're ready. We're all geared up as we are

want to ask this question right out of the box
before we get these games kicking off right now? Why
did people believe that the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are going
to have a losing season this year when you consider this,
the reason that the Steelers, who are the epitome of
a mediocre franchise and have been for many, many years,

but the reason why they win more games than they
lose is simple turnover margin. And you brought in a
quarterback with the lowest interception rate in the history of
the National Football League. Why are the Steelers three to
one this year. It's not because they're a great team.
It's because they take care of the football. They create turnovers,

they win the turnover battle. And that's why they got
Aaron Rodgers, because he doesn't turn the ball over, he
doesn't throw interceptions. And so I'm always shocked with people, Wow,
they're gonna this is yet. Man, the Steelers are gonna suck.
They share Aaron Rodgers has done. He's done as an
MVP candidate. But he'll take care of the football. And
that is why Mike Tomlin's teams win more games than

have beaten the pay the Jets in now Minnesota with

the games they're supposed to win. Okay, that's fine.

Well I wish we had kept that narrative for everybody,
because that would be that would make sports talk radio
on NFL football really different. But they have some teams
coming up. Now Cincinnati doesn't have Joe Burrow, but they
do have the Packers.

We don't the Coats. Look what the Coats are right
then they're at the Chargers and if they have they're
at Chicago.

We'll see what they're about, you know, whether they're legitimate
or as Dallas's defense, just really that bad.

And Buffalo Baltimore like they could Detroit. They got some games.

That's gonna even out this three and one. I'm holding
the horn. I predicted they would have an even eight
nines under five hundred.

This will not be sustainable.

Aaron Rodgers will start to make mistakes, they will start
to turn the ball over. Great win today over in Dublin.
But I'm gonna pump the brakes on. You know this,
This is why I know. It's not the reason why

Well, they but again he's a guy that has the
lowest interception rate of any quarterback in the history of
the NFL. Marquee matchup this morning is the Battle of
Beans between the Bucks and the Eagles. Eagles unbelievable. Not
only as we were sitting here watching the end of
the game did they win that game, they covered the spread,
which was one of the all time covers. I mean,

this is why, even though you know we talk about
the bracebreads and everything else. I get it, the majority
of you listening are there. But this is why I
personally do not wager because imagine having the Rams in
that game. You're three and a half point underdogs, you're
up by nineteen, so at that point you're up twenty
two and a half points, and even as they're lining

up for that field goal, if you're betting on the Rams, like, well,
even if they miss, if they missed, they can I
still come they got liston.

Well, I see, I'm glad you did that just now
because I didn't want to say that.

You think I was trolly. But the minute both I
remember both faced last week, I could see through the
glass the minute he he picks up the fumble.

oh wow, that's three points. You gotta be but it

I mean, come on, nobody thinks that's gonna happen.

this Indiana at Iowa yesterday. Indiana was a six and
a half point favorite. They're up seven and their quarterback
Mendoza to run out the clock, runs all over the
end zone takes the safety, so instead of winning by
seven and covering, they win by five. He actually apologized

to those that had been on Indiana for that locks
play of the game. So this is the insanity, but
part of the reason why it's so exciting. We have
a block punt and the Eagles are gonna run it
back front touchdown like that. Those Super Bowl champions on
a block hunt have scored a touchdown. Sydney Brown takes

on practice time, right, And if you have to eliminate
a little more time on something in the NFL, if

you probably take a little more time off of preparation.

It's gonna be special teams because you gotta have your
offense correct and you gotta have your defense.

And we know we gotta have special teams, but you know,
if I gotta take a little time off of something like, well,
we just want that play right there, that's fundamental stack Okay.
But also you're also taking money away from special teams
because you're you got the jacked up salaries for everyone else.
You gotta make the salary cap. So where are you
going to cut salary wise? This is why we do

see a lot of undrafted free agents make NFL rosters
they got, you'll kill them out for special teams. So
seven nothing. Eagles take the early lead on the block kick.

and Lions. This is going to be a really interesting
matchup because VJ, you and I have been talking about
this Browns defense. They are absolutely top three at the
very least in the NFL right now, going against the
Lions team that after getting shut down by the Packers
in that opening game, it bounced back in a big way.

(08:53):
So we'll see what the Browns can do defensively to
slow down the Lions, because if they can, you know, again,
keep the Lions offense in check, they're gonna hang in
this game, even the game on the road against these
Detroit Lions.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
I and it's funny, I Dan Byron, I talked about this.
I was walking through the break area coming in to
do the show this warning ten points.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Listen, the Browns.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Every year in the NFL there's a top notch defense
with a horrible offense, and at least twice a year that.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Defense gets walked over at least once or twice.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Because they just they're tired or happen to just give
up ten to thirteen point, give it up ten and
thirteen points, sixty point and still losing the game.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
These are still human beings. These are pros right here.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
But I got some numbers on this game for you
because I wanted to lean with the Browns to cover,
but I took the Lions to cover.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
The ten.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
But as far as a favorite goes, the Lions are
twenty and three in their last twenty three games straight
up as a favorite, they're four to one in their
last five against the spread versus the Browns.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
So I'll I'll go with history here. We'll make it
five and one in their last It's usually based, though, VJ,
on the fact that they're so explosive offensively. I mean,
they points. And that's the thing about Dan Campbell, and
I'm all for roll it up. Yeah, he's he's one
of those guys. His attitude is the Lions sucked for
so many years. We got beaten down so many times.

Now that we're in a position to beat people down,
we're gonna beat people down. And that's why they've rolled
it up over the years in games that they already
have well in hand to cover spreads.

I thought, so stoo their quarterback guys. So let's let's
make sure we remember that.

I think the Vj's point as well, like we're giving
a lot of props after this past week to the
to the Browns defense, but this is also a Browns
defense that got rolled up for forty points by the
Baltimore Ravens.

The leak prior to that, right right exactly.

Like that's why I said once or twice a year,
a top notch defense, there's always one in the NFL
with a terrible offense.

They will hang in about ten to.

Twelve of their games, but there's at least two Sundays
they are going to get rolled because they're tired of
just being able to They're tired of giving up thirteen, sixteen,
nineteen points and losing the game. Like, dude, we gave
up only seventeen points. How'd you I scored thirteen?

He only one of those points came in the fourth
quarter too, So by that point you're just exhausted. You've
been carrying the team for you're five minutes.

NFL seasons. Who gets started right now? But this Brown's
defense doing a number early on on the Lions, slowing

them down. Jared Goffiic is still a little frustration right now.
They can't get things going. And if the Browns can
get any offensive all and by the way, Flaco five
for five seventy yards to start the game. Doesn't get
much better than that.

Doesn't just start the game, especially on the road when
you're a ten point underdog. And I want to go
back to the words just used. Quarter And I always
tell people I watched the NFL in quarters plus one.
If you notice when we did our preview for every
team I know, I mentioned their first five games, which
is their first four plus coming out of that four
are the three and one four to oh you know,
one in three zero four and then that fifth game

(16:47):
is gonna tell you where they're gonna because if they
think about it, if they're two and two, that fifth
game puts them at three and two. Now you feel
a little different. Three and two fields way different than
two and three in the NFL. So today is to
me a benchmark, and you see a team like Philadelphia
come out, who I believe is the best team in football.
I've picked them to repeat us the Super Bowl champion,
and I just don't think anybody in the NFC can

(17:08):
consistently hang with them. I think they're loaded, and if
they don't have any catastrophic injuries at the major four
or five guys that I could mention for them, they're
going to be just fine. They're front seven and on
the defensive side is great. But but you talk about
the Browns and listen, they have a great defense. Can
Flacco be sustainable against a Lions team? They're gonna have

(17:30):
to score thirty points to win this game. So I'd
say the Browns aren't gonna win this game twenty four
to twenty. They're going to have to score points today
because I do believe this offense does have too many weapons.
Even though the Browns have a great defense, this Detroit
line offense is loaded. They have all pro guys at
the quarterback position, at the running back position, at the
tight end position, at the receiversent like offensive league. They

(17:52):
have all pros like all around. So that's gonna be
hard to stop. But you know, nice start five or
five touchdown drive seven nothing. Look, you know, see what's up.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
We got the Titans, you know, obviously a young team
with a young quarterback, you know, trying to keep their
head above water, going against the Texans team that was
favored to be a three peet as far as division championships.
And when you look at this Texans team right now,
VJ three losses and in those losses they scored nine points,

(18:24):
nineteen points, and ten points. They haven't given up more
than twenty points in the game. So the defense is
getting the job done. Are we at the point now
of pushing the panic button? If you're a CJ. Stroud fan,
it's phenomenal as he was as a rookie, came down
a notch last year, but he is coming down a
huge notch so far this season. Where are we with CJ. Stroud?

Speaker 2 (18:47):
It just depends on what your panic button says, does
your panic button say I'm out on CJ. Stroud career wise,
or does your panic button say I'm out on CJ.
Stroud in this offense until they get tanged, dell back
until they yell a little more. You got a new
fridge and running back that you brought in. Uh, Nico's
the guy. But Nico seems to be like the only

guy right now. So if you're asking like that, then
I would say yes, because I tell you what they
can't do. You can't lose it home to the zero
and three Titans team that was the worst team in
the league last year and have the number one overall
pick a quarterback position Cameward on their team.

They can't drop this game. This gas, this is the game.
They can't. It's a road game. Yeah, I mean it. Yes,
that's why you can't. That's what you gotta be kidding.

Did you guys see the I think it's Jeffrey Simmons
for the Titans, number ninety eight. The sack he had
on CJ. Strowd literally in the backfield as the ball
was snapped. I think that's when you reserve judgment for CJ.
Stroud because they have not done any favors building him
an offensive line. They traded their best offensive lineman. I
don't think is even that good in the first place.

Uh, he's making all pros while he was there, though. Yeah,
I mean, listen, listen, I'm a Dolphin guy. We drive
to them the gas mask and all that stuff. We
traded them away, got the Tyreek stuff. They all came

But when he went there, I watched careful. I say,
you know what, he making all pros. He's still that
dominant left tackle guy. Now little age, getting a little older.
They want to move on from him, but I agree
with you, they haven't done any favorites been off its line.
But watching him so far this year, even when his
back foot hits bow and he sees it and he
should let it go, he does it. Something's going on.

He doesn't trust. And I was telling Steve during the break,
you are on social media. I mean there's a lot
of clips this week of him at press conferences having
to answer and kind of have it like a whatever. Guys,
you know, listen, man, like you got basically y'all aren't here.

We know what's up. You guys are stupid, We're you know.
It's been a lot of that with quarterbacks this week
with the press. But I would say, to answer your question,
Hall of Famer, I would say, reserve right now, guys.
I think I'm with you. I think Bow and our
guy reserve it right now. But the better change it
around fast on.

All right, no reserve here. This should be an easy
game for the Falcons. Up ten nothing already. Michael Connis

and eighteen and the Commanders have negative six No. Terry

McLaurin also all yeah, So the Commanders literally almost throwing
this game away. They have nothing today offensively, so with Mariota, Yeah,
this is going to be a very very long day
for the Commanders. Already down ten to nothing to the Falcons.
All right, the Bills came right back with another touchdown. Again,

how many yards is Josh And he's five for five
for one hundred and three yards and a touchdown. By
the way, that's a perfect passer rating. James Cook already
has forty one yards rushing in this game, so the
Saints are completely defenseless. However, Spencer Ratler did get him
down for a touchdown. Lions have tied this up up
as you predicted their VJ. They just cannot be stopped.

You gotta slow him down, but he can't ge stop
this Lion's offense right now, so the Allians get to
score there. Jamiir Gibbs, who really has not been the
Jamier Gibbs that I expected so far this season. Montgomery
actually outgained him considerably last week. Why is Gibbs struggling

(22:24):
early this year?

Speaker 2 (22:25):
He's not struggling. I'd said this during the preseason. If
he was going to be the number one. I can
see all the love that people were giving him, but
he was still going to split carries with a bona
Phi veteran. Montgomery is a bona Phi yees locker room wise,
traded wise like a spectacular, A lot of tape man.
When coaches get tape on you, coaches get enough tape,

he listen. Gibbs is a huge talent, but he reminds
me almost like a bigger Darren Spros where if he
doesn't have room to operate and to use the jitterbug moves.
As Baker Mayfield throws a pick and the Eagles are

has to get with those guys on where his run

you know, if there is going to be a knock
on Lamar Jackson in his already Hall of Fame worthy career,
it's the fact that, yes he has big numbers, but
usually he's piling up numbers in which the Ravens are
blowing opponents away in crunch time. Is he really that guy?

record it's three and five. We can talk about other
