the tire rack dot Com studios.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Well.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
As always on our brief two hour show, we have
so much to talk about in such a short amount
of time. Adam Kaplan, our Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider,
is going to be joining us. We'll talk a little
bit about that very forgettable Cowboy victory on Thursday night.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Get ready for a big Sunday.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
We got a lot of college football going on right now,
and again the key game of the day, the big
game of the day, Number two Georgia, number four Alabama.
That game will be kicking off in little more than
an hour. Looking forward to that battle Dan in Tuscaloosa. So,
once again, Monci here we are trying to figure out
exactly what makes the show and what doesn't make the

(01:03):
show today.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
I know, especially on a daylight today again, I have
no dogfight when it comes to college football, and yet.

Speaker 5 (01:10):
I can't wait to watch the game. Leader. I just
can't wait to sit down and watch it.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
And that's probably the cool part about it is, I
really I'm not gonna be affected by it, So I'm
thoroughly going to enjoy it, while I know everyone else
maybe thoroughly. Well.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
What's interesting about this rivalry, obviously, is that Kirby Smart
has elevated Georgia to where Alabama was all until that
SEC Championship game and that miracle fourth down play that
Jalen Milroe delivered to give Nick Saban one last SEC championship.
Bottom line was Nick Saban owned his former assistant had

(01:45):
to head only once the Georgia beat Alabama. That was
in the SEC Championship a few years ago. They got
the revenge from the regular season went on to win
a national championship. So a lot of people are saying,
all right, well, now that Nick Saban's gone, now Kirby
Smart can can take control of this rivalry, and I

(02:05):
counter with his games in Tuscaloosa until Georgia can prove
they can beat Alabama in a regular season game. I
would tend to lead with Alabama, especially at home.

Speaker 5 (02:17):
I mean, call me crazy too. I feel like the
same way, Alabama is Alabama until they're not.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
And I guess nobody has told us that they're not
Alabama at home.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
I also think they can pull it off.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
Everyone does put Kirby Smart as the best now football
coach because everyone else has retired and left the game.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
But he's still he has to beat Alabama today.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Well, remember this about Kalin Deborah of course, left the
University of Washington to take over the Alabama job. His
career coaching record head coaching record is one oh seven
and twelve.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
I'm sorry what one o seven and twelve?

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Now, granted this includes a five year old at Sue
falls In the NAIA won three NAIA championships where they
were sixty seven and three, but he was also twenty
five and three at two years at Washington.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
That's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Yeah, which is pretty good. So I mean.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Again, I want to pause for a second. I've been
watching a lot of college football. By the way, we're
going to get into that controversial ending of the game
last night between the University of Miami and Virginia Tech.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
Controversial.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Yeah, that was a very interesting decision at the end
of that game. But I'm watching a lot of college
football these days, and I'm like, right now, the number
one team in the country, Texas, arch Manning a quarterback.
Right now, they're playing a woeful Mississippi State team at home.

(03:49):
It's fourteen to six. Yeah in Texas at halftime. I mean,
I don't know what the line in this game was,
but it probably was four touchdowns, if not more. Arch
Manning's fine, fifteen nineteen, two hundred two yards in a score.
They're not running the ball well. In other words, Texas
doesn't look like some juggernaut. And that's almost across the board.

(04:10):
It's ironic in a year where we're going to have
this expanded playoff in college football that there is no
clearcut number one team. I mean, Texas is good, obviously, Georgia, Alabama,
Ohio State. He run down the list. Look, Mississippi came
in the into today rank sixth in the country. They
lose at home to Kentucky.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 5 (04:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
That one.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
I couldn't believe. I had to do a double take.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
If I'm reading this correctly, Texas was thirty eight and
a half point underdogs.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
You mean favorites.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
Oh yeah, sorry, favorites. I'm sorry, I apologize favorites.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Yes, eight and a half points, they're up by eight
at half time.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
That seems yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
So, I mean, it's just going to show that when
we finally do get to this playoff, wherever schools are
going to be there, it is going to be wide open.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
There is just no.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Clearcut favorite, which again gets to this matchup between Alabama
and Georgia with the expanded playoff. You know, unless they
have some unexpected, you know, lapses down the road, this
game will do little to decide the future of either
one of these schools. The loser, most likely he is
still in the mix, and the winner doesn't really separate

(05:22):
themselves from the rest of the pack. I've also been
very interested in watching some of the schools that are
moving into these new conferences, especially these former Pac twelve
schools moving into the Big Ten. Right now, USC at
home against a mediocre Wisconsin team and Wisconsin is still
winning this game as he trying to come back in

(05:43):
this game, but Wisconsin still leading this game twenty one
to seventeen, and you just have to understand there's such
a mix this year. We said this this entire I
cannot wait for this college football season. When last year ended,
Monci I told everybody, take a snapshot.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Because you're watching college.

Speaker 3 (06:04):
Football by and large the way it's been for one
hundred years in terms of regional rivalries and the makeup
of these conferences, and that all ends in twenty twenty four.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
So I got it.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
You know, I do some you know, guest appearances on
other shows and they're like, you.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Know, what are you seeing? I said, I don't know
what to expect this year in college football.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
This is we've hit the reset start on college football
and this season is just going to be.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
What it ends up being. That's it.

Speaker 5 (06:33):
Yeah, it's impossible to really predict.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Like right now, Wisconsin, Yeah, beating SC twenty one to seventeen.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
This is not a great Wisconsin tine. No, it's funny.
They've had some muff punts in this I think they haven't.
How often do they see blue skies as you approach October?
You know, they're looking up at those southern California blue
skies right now and they're like, where's the ball? I
can't even see it. It's so blinding here. Not the
way that these Big Ten schools are you to having

(07:00):
their weather. But on the flip side, once they host
some of these schools, especially when the weather turns midwest rough,
we're going to see some very challenged West Coast schools
as they enter into Big ten territory.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Of course, we don't have weather here. No, they're not
going to handle that well, not at all. You can't
replicate that.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Can I interrupt for a couple of seconds here early on,
because we're going to get into a lot of NFL.
But I feel with monseiy and I our show has
evolved into the football season, but we are covering some
other sports today, and one is the end of the
year for Caitlin Clark. So her Fever team got eliminated
in the playoffs, no surprise there. She played badly in

(07:44):
the first game. She played much better in the second game,
but they are two and out and then they're done.
They talked about the increase attendance in the WNBA. I
love how they talked about that without giving you specifics
about where those games increased in attendance. If you take
her out, there's no increase in attendance or TV ratings

(08:09):
or general interest in the WNBA. And again I'm gonna
arguing with Asia Wilson being the Most Valuable Player, she's
the best player in the league. Kaylen Clark, I think
rightfully based on what she did on the court, finished
fourth in the MVP voting. But I wanted to get
your thoughts on just this whole Caitlin Clark phenomenon that
extended throughout this year, you know, through the college basketball season,

(08:33):
you know, her being some people felt snubbed for an
opportunity to play in the Olympics, and her rookie season
the WNBA. What kind of impact do you think she
really has had.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
I mean, she is the phenomenon that I think everyone expected.
So I think that conversation. Guys, it's been proven her
season is over, but the numbers don't lie, the attention
doesn't lie. And whether it was good or bad attention,
everybody was talking about the WNBA left and right, so
something that that league was not used to, which is

(09:05):
why there's a lot of still controversy when it comes
to the attention that was brought to the WNBA.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
But in reality, it's.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Like when you are big like this, you get negative
and positive attention and they just weren't used to it,
but in reality, she delivered exactly the way I thought.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
Some people didn't think that she was gonna move the needle.
She moved the needle. We can there's no there's no
more discussion about that. She moved the needle.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
The w NBA is a topic of conversation. With or
without her, you are going to talk about the WNBA.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
So it's like, I think it's pretty great.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
And yeah, she was snubbed by the Olympic team, but
you know what, it was good for her.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
Well, it was good for her.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
And again you know Diana Tarrossi announcing her retirement, you know,
after when her six gold medal in twenty years on
the WNBA. But the fact that they actually remained on
the radar even after the nflc and started, it's crazy.
Even if it was you know, you know, NFL is
king college football's right there.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
I mean, we got the baseball playoffs are going to
get to By the way, I want to mention Shoho
Tani for a second hand, we have to.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Okay, you know, we we were talking fifty to fifty.
I mean, I don't even where's this.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Going to end.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
I mean, by the way he broke Etro Suzuki's record
for most stolen base from a Japanese player in Major
League Baseball. Suzuki more associated with stealing bases than Shohei
o Tani, but that's where he is with his fifty
seventh stolen base. By the way, us he has just
taken a lead on touchdown penning the extra point twenty

(10:43):
three to twenty one Trojans right now, minute half to
go in the third quarter of that game.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
On top of the home.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Runs, and by the way, he actually has an outside
shot of winning the triple Crown, which by the way,
no National League player has done since nineteen thirty seven.
He leaves the league at home runs and runs battered
in and Louise a Rise of the Podres is sitting
now that the Padres have secured the four seed in

(11:10):
the playoffs. He'll set out these last couple of games
against Arizona unless, unless so, he suddenly goes four for four.
He had four hits last. If he does it again,
he might take the lead in the batting race.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
Okay, so Louise Arise.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
His batting average is three fourteen otanis is three on nine.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Yeah, it's real close.

Speaker 5 (11:30):
It's real close.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
But yeah, you think that if Otani has a chance
to take it to.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
Play, Oh absolutely, I mean again, it would take a lot.
And when you're this late in the seedson that many
of bats, it does tell it takes.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
It would take a four for four day for him
to like to make a dent.

Speaker 3 (11:48):
To make a dent, whereas all of a sudden he
can but say, oh he can't.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
That's what's crazy. You do anything there's actually a chance.
And the best part not even any more offensively.

Speaker 5 (11:59):
What he's doing. You know what I like about Joey Donny.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
He actually showed emotion. When the Dodgers are so stoic
it gets annoying. It's nice to see someone care.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Well.

Speaker 3 (12:09):
He cares because he's going to be in the postseason
for the first time in a seven year major league career.
So even though it's an annual event for these Dodgers,
they've been there, done that every single year, for him,
it matters. First time we'll see him in the postseason.

as our Fox Sports Radio NFL insider Adam Kaplan joins
us once again. Adam, I will say this about my
prognostication skills.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Over these many, many.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
Years, I have an uncanny ability to take a winner
and make them into an immediate loser.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Oh team or team?

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Well, I'm going to give you two teams right now,
and I want to ask you if either one of
these teams is fixable. Two teams that I both picked
to win their divisions this year are both sitting at
zero to three.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
That would be Jacksonville and Cincinnati.

Speaker 6 (13:59):
Jacksonville.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
So I did pick the Jaguars.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
I thought after their rough finish last year that they
would rebound this year. Doug Peterson is a Super Bowl
winning coach, and Trevor Lawrence got the new deal. Let's
start with the Jags right now, and then I want
to get to the Bengals. Well, let's start with the Jags.
They're on the road against the Texans this week. It
was just ugly that last game, as bad as it's

(14:23):
been all season. Are they fixable or is this the
end of the road for Doug Peterson? And what exactly
do you foresee in the future for Trevor Lawrence.

Speaker 7 (14:32):
Yeah, he's on the number one hot seat on if
we were ranking them, which coach has got to win
to save his job? It would be Peterson, much as expected,
not winning division, but getting back respectability. Remember, they lost
their final five out of six games last season. They're
on the road against it. Obviously, the Texans who shocked
the world last year, kind of like the Jaguars did
two years ago. And the problem now is they extended

(14:58):
Trevor Lawrence's contract. The owner Shot Cohn went on the
records saying that the coaches have to do a better
job of developing developing their players while the roster is
taking a step back, and that's not going to look
good for Doug Peterson specifically for the offense, it's been dreadful, awful.
They won't have any Evan Ingram who got hurt in
pregame warmps two weeks ago with a hamshury injury.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (15:19):
Darnell Savage they signed as a free agent, will play
at safety.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (15:22):
They're down. They have two out of the three top
inside backers are out. Their best corner Campbell's on IR
so they got they have injury concerns. They played really badly.
I don't feel I just don't, and I know behind
the scenes there's been a disconnect with their offense. They
people are not on the same page. It looks bad.
I mean, it's it's fair to bring it up, but
I mean it looks bad. They've they've It's interesting where

(15:45):
Doug Peterson comes on to that white that that on
that white horse two years ago and after the Overen
Myer experience, Steve, and it was just I mean, he
was the guy who saved it. I remember, I remember
being there. They breath of fresh air. You have no
idea how much this means to us with Doug's positivity.
Then they choke. Doug's forced to fire a lot of coaches.

(16:06):
He saved Press Taylor, the much maligne offensive coordinator, his guy.
He brought her from Philly. Who's who's the offensive coordinator?
And Press I'm told to still call in the plays.
But they've got a brand new defense. It's not working well.
Ryan Nielson, it's pretty good. How about Doug Peterson calling
out Ryan Nielson a couple of weeks ago? That was bad, Steve.

(16:28):
So to answer your question as we go forward here,
I don't feel there's a lot of hope. I usually
don't say that this early. It's rare that I feel
that way. But the vibes are not good coming out
of Jacksonville.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
All right, So let's fall up with the Bengals right now.
I not only picked the Bengals to win their division.
I had Joe Burrows the league's MVP. And by the way,
his passer ratings one hundred and two. Yeah, badly but
not terrible. But that defense has been a wolf. Are
they fixable? Can the Bengals do something that rarely happens,
and that's Riley from an O three start to make

(16:59):
the postseason?

Speaker 7 (17:00):
Then that, by the way, it's less than ten percent
that make it from nineteen ninety that start zero to
three to make the post season, they got to win
the Andy Dalton revenge Ball. They have to win this one.
And it's what I'm deeming. I love fighting this stuff.
So you know, they're on the road here at Carolina.
They've been bad at home. Sometimes they're talking to coaches guys.

(17:20):
Sometimes you could get you could galvanize a team just
getting on the road, getting together and feeling a sense
of togetherness. Look, they have the stuff with Jamar Chase
week one, which was clearly a distraction against the Patriots,
where they were terrible. They don't score ten points. But
the thing is they're kind of they're relatively healthy on offense.
But they just lost Trent Brown, one of their offensive

(17:44):
tackles for the season with a really bad knee injury.
So that that's concerning. So yeah, now, I look, are
they going to make the playoffs?

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Know?

Speaker 7 (17:52):
Because the Steelers are better than we thought. They still
have to play the Steelers. They got to play the
Ravens twice, they got to play the Eagles. It's it's
going to be tough. No, I don't see them turning around.

Speaker 8 (18:02):
Now.

Speaker 7 (18:03):
Could there be eight or nine win team, Yeah, but
that's not going to get to you in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Ouch.

Speaker 4 (18:07):
I also had the Bengals going to the playoffs, Adam,
let's talk about the forty nine ers the Trumps specific. No, well,
not even the banged up situation that they have. But
Brandon Ayuk, he gets his one hundred and twenty million
dollar extension and then he shows up in the wrong
pair of shorts and I know it's just a pair
of shorts, but then throws a bit of a tantrum.

Speaker 7 (18:26):
Yeah, the Ayuk and so am I reporting on this.
So in the situation with Ayuk and Shanty and going
back some years, so I'm gonna say it was his
second year twenty twenty one where he got off to
really bad start and he didn't have a good training camp,
and my understanding was that Kas Shanahan during their bye week,

(18:48):
they he got together and he got through to AYUK.
They had a meeting of the minds and what they
felt was I would not come in with a passion
for his job and the energy and they're building because
you know, if very talented. And then in that second
half of that season, after the bye he became, he
was better and then twenty two is phenomenal. Where As
one of their coaches told me he was still in

(19:10):
their staff. When I was in training camp that summer
two years ago, the guy goes to you know, I said, wow,
I was tearing updated he goes, Dude, he does this
every day. We can't stop him. So obviously this guy's
and this coach is on defensive side of the football, so
I don't I'm not reading it too much now. He
has not really done much so far. To be honest
with me, Deemo Siemo's got.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
This calf injury.

Speaker 7 (19:30):
We know about McCaffrey, who won't be back till late
in the season, if he does return at all. They're
trying to figure this Achilles ten and ice issue out.
They're gonna get George Kittle back. This week. They lost
Javon Hargrave, who has been really good as a big
phrasing signe from Eagles, making over twenty million season. He's
lost for the season regular season at least. So they
have injury issues that I think it's fair Monty to

(19:53):
bring this up with Ayuk and Shanahan. They've had their
issues before. It's something worth monitoring because and how about
Juwan Jennings last Yeah, that was incredible, So it's somethinghere
going to monitor. I'm not overly concerned about him, but
knowing that they've had a history, it's fair game.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
The team that meet the forty nine ers in the
Super Bowl, the Chiefs. I have a stat for you
in their last eight regular season games, Patrick Mahomes has
eleven touchdown passes and nine interceptions in his last eight
regular season games. Those are very ordinary numbers for an

(20:32):
extraordinary quarterback. They're on the road against the Chargers. I say,
on the road, it's all Chiefs fans at SOFI. I've
been to a Chiefs Chargers game at SOFI. It'll be
all Chiefs fans. But is something missing right now? I mean,
there's a lot of noise obviously about Kelsey and that
he's not getting as many looks as he has in
the past. But again, last eight regular season games, Mahomes

(20:54):
eleven touchdown passes, nine interceptions.

Speaker 7 (20:59):
Well, here's the couple of things. He doesn't have Isaiah Pachecko,
So the run game. I know Carson Steel, the imjre
after free agent, did a good job last week, but
he doesn't have Pachuck's explosiveness. They don't have that going
for them. They're not gonna have Hollywood Brown, at least
for the regular seasons. So he's never even played for them.
He had a decent training camp before he got hurt.
They're off and what any Reid. By the way, what

(21:20):
I'm told is any read over the year when Mahomes struggles,
he generally Mahomes will run around and not get rid
of the football. He all change up his offense will
force now you mentioned ironically Kelsey, He'll force Mahomes to
get rid of the football quickly and not overthink and
not try to be spectacular in Superman, and it usually works.
That's what they're going to have to do. They're very

(21:40):
lucky to be three no and their defense has bailed
them out.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
It's this weird.

Speaker 7 (21:44):
Rachie Rice is a really good player, and he is
the pretty significant off the field issue, which won't be
resolved until it goes through the legal system. But they
got to get other guys involved. Is he every worthy
of their first round pick? Yes, he's explosive, but he's
very limited. He's not a guy's going to run the
whole routree. He needs a lot of war They got
to find another pass target. They've got a lot of
work to do here. This one's fair game. The Chiefs

(22:06):
are just not playing well. Their defense is saving the
day now. The Chargers are banged up, really significantly banged
up on both sides of the football. I'd be very
surprised if this game is close. You never know when
the Chiefs do this though, Steve, they played down to
their opponent way too much.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
Yeah, Adam, Five undefeated teams, yep. Do any of them
stay undefeated going into week five?

Speaker 7 (22:31):
It's just funny you asked that because I remember talking
to a friend of mine with the Steelers this week
and he goes, what did I tell you about our schedule?
Because I told him they're not going to make the playoffs.
You know, When I talk to people, they'll go, hey,
what do you think of us this year? You know,
in the nine and eight whatever. So if you guys
will have your typical you'll somehow make the playoffs as
a wildcard. But I don't see it, and I still don't,
And to be honest with me, I'm not sold them.

(22:52):
Their defense is great, Justin Field's usually implodes and he's
very streaky. The Buffalo game is going to be phenomenal,
and no question about it. So because just because Love
is going to play, and the Packers didn't even add
a quarterback from the PRAC squad, so he's definitely gonna
play tomorrow. I can't wait to see that one. Look
the I believe the O is going to go with

(23:13):
the Vikings. I'm stunned. I totally got that one wrong.
I didn't make it being a playoff team. I don't
think anyone did. I mean, this is pretty incredible what
they're doing. The Seahawks, they've got pretty significant different injuries
on the defensive line.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
I didn't see that either.

Speaker 7 (23:26):
It's been interesting, folks, with just five undefeated teams after
three weeks. I did not see Seattle and Minnesota being undefeated.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
Well, and we only have three winless teams right although
I think Jacksonville will stay that way.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
I just don't see it. I'd be stunned.

Speaker 7 (23:43):
They want, But the Texans have.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
Not played well this year. They looked awful last week,
they looked awful.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
And who do they be? They'd be what the Colts? Yeah,
you know, I.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Mean it's not like the Texans are not looking great,
but Jacksonville is looking awful.

Speaker 7 (24:00):
So let me say this. Brian Flores has got is
right now in the NFL's best defensive coordinator. What he's
doing with not a lot of talent on the back end,
that's great coaching. Now, he didn't do a good job
with as a Dolphins head coach. Didn't handle himself great.
You know him and Tua and it's sty He just
didn't do a good job there. But the guy is brilliant.
It's a defensive coordinator and he right now he's got

(24:20):
to be running for Assistant Coach of the Year.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Well, it's parody personified right now in the National Football League,
at least early on. As always, Adam, people love when
you come on. We appreciate you when you come on.
We'll talk to you next Saturday guys.

Speaker 7 (24:34):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
That's Adam Kaplan, our Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider covering
a lot of NFL on a big Sunday coming up.
All right, let's find out what is trending right now.
A man that wears many hats, he's actually wearing a
hat right now, but he is going to.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
Be doing what is on my hat? By the way,
do you know I can't see because it's covered by
Oh is that.

Speaker 5 (24:55):
Cory?

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Yeah, there's a such thing. I have a corgi at home.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
Do you have a collection of hats like you, like
you have a specific or sometimes if you decide to
wear a cap, you just grab the first cap available.

Speaker 9 (25:09):
Yeah, which one isn't dirty? There is a little bit
of like sweat residue.

Speaker 5 (25:13):
On the side light colored hats.

Speaker 9 (25:14):
It really is no question about it. And then my
my question too is do you put it in the
washing machine or.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
I try that one time with a cap that I love.

Speaker 4 (25:23):
It destroyed the cap, yeahs it it.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Also, it'll can shrink the cap.

Speaker 3 (25:29):
So if it's a fitted cap, absolutely you cannot do that.

Speaker 5 (25:34):
There's that thing that you can purchase.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
I'm sure that you stick your cap in it and
it holds the mold and then you can throw it
in the washer.

Speaker 5 (25:42):
Yeah, well, and it'll hold the shape of it.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (25:44):
I can picture is Steve with a top hat, and
I keep telling you, Steve, you.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
Can't put that in. I like the idea of a
top hat. Really, what about you and a Fedora?

Speaker 5 (25:53):
No, let's not in say we did.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
The only time I wear a cap is Sundays. As
you know, I wear traditionally my NFL cap.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
That's my one cap.

Speaker 5 (26:02):
For those listeners, it's just an NFL cap. No team
really just says NFL.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
I was. I was sent that cap in the mail
at my TV station years ago, and I'm like, I
just love how benign this cap is.

Speaker 9 (26:15):
Well, so is your wardrobe, because you've got like three shirts.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
No, I have my Saturday shirt and I have my
Sunday sh What it is?

Speaker 5 (26:22):
I told them that it's a uniform.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
Yeah, everything is laid out, there's no there's nothing in
my possession that does not get worn or use.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
I have six pairs of socks.

Speaker 9 (26:34):
Will you reuse the socks before you put them in
the wash? Is that the only article of clothing that
you will reuse? Or is that no?

Speaker 2 (26:42):
I will do that with underwears.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
It's bothering me that you don't have seven pairs of socks.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
Why do you have six?

Speaker 3 (26:48):
Same thing with under or I have six pairsaries anything?

Speaker 2 (26:51):
You use the same one twice me?

Speaker 3 (26:54):
Because there's always one day in the week where it's
sort of just like a lax day around the place.
Why am I going to out fresh underwear? Yeah, that
makes that makes total sense. I haven't sweat all right
like that. I'll tell you one guy that probably has
swept through his underwear. That would be Miller Moss, the
quarterback for USC. He is leading this comeback here for
the number thirteen Trojans at home. That would be twenty

(27:18):
one unanswered points. Coming out of the half against Wisconsin,
it's thirty one to twenty one. Moss just ran in
a touchdown score here early in the fourth, which is
where we are. He also had two throws in the
form of scores in the third quarter. Mississippi State is
trailing number one Texas. Speaking of undefeated teams and now
college football, Texas look going to go five to zero

(27:40):
and arch Manning in as the starting quarterback twenty of
twenty five through the air, two hundred and fifty five
yards and that one touchdown, and they're late stages of
the third quarter, fourteen to six in favor of the Longhorns.
Thirty four points put up by Dion Sanders Colorado Buffaloes,
his son Shaduur twenty four completion, two hundred and seventy yards,

(28:01):
two touchdowns through the air, and what is a thirty
four to fourteen lead over UCF. I think a few
years ago they got partially the nomination for national champ
They did, by the way you see undefeated going in
this game, fifteen and a half point favorites and Colorado's
winning by twenty u SEF was a fifteen point favorite

(28:24):
in this game at home. Colorado's Deon's doing it, man.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Yeah, he is doing it.

Speaker 9 (28:29):
And I'll throw this one at you guys one more
in college football number six, Oh Miss, they got shown
up at home underestimating their opponent twenty to seventeen. They
falter against unranked Kentucky and in the world of the NFL,
some interesting nuggets regarding news there where After a few

(28:49):
weeks of being an active Packers quarterback, Jordan Love is
good to go this weekend, this Sunday tomorrow against the
Vikings Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert. They're looking at him to
play this weekend against the Chiefs, even though he's dealing
with that high ankle spree.

Speaker 2 (29:07):
He might not be himself.

Speaker 9 (29:08):
But what they're gonna do is watch tentatively and see
how that ankle holds up in warm ups. But it
looks as if he's gonna go. He's not going to
have one of his offensive linemen, and Joe all doubtful.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
One of his offensive linemen. You mean, like the offensive lineman. Look,
I don't get this one at all.

Speaker 5 (29:27):
I mean, are you saying, don't play?

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Don't play? It's the Chiefs, But the.

Speaker 5 (29:34):
Chiefs have not looked great.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
Yeah, but the Chargers don't have any offense anyway going
The Chiefs defense is one of the best defenses in
the league anyway.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
But why are you risking making the quarterback? I mean,
it doesn't make any sense.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
You got a couple of wins under your belt, You're okay,
two and one. Two and two is not going to
take you out of it. I'll tell you what it'll
take you out of it. He lose your quarterback for
the year.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
And then who's the backup? Right now? They're going heinekey
over they go, so, yeah, you got more? That is it?

Speaker 1 (30:09):
I know.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
I mean we go on and on, and there was
a big football game coming up the Rose Bowl tonight.
Yes there is.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
So uh and by the way, if you want to
tune into the postgame show of the UCLA Oregon game
where Ucla at home is only a twenty five and
a half point underdogs at home, yeah, we'll watch. Said
that's that's a leg game. That's like a Hawaii kickoff time.

Speaker 9 (30:33):
Is and I'll probably go on the air after midnight.
I would think it's easy. And I've been told the
phones are going to be working oh good this week,
so the lines will be jammed.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
I'm sure. I'm sure.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
Yeah, all right, be fan great stuff. As always, Once again,
this is Fox Football Saturday, Steve Hartman, Montsey Bolanos. We're
coming live from the ti IRAQ dot com studios. Yeah,
you're Chargers at home. And again I went to a
Chiefs Chargers game at so FI and it was all Yes,

(31:04):
it was all Raiders fans. It was all Chiefs fans.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
Yeah, But I mean, I don't understand high ankle sprain
is really a tough injury.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
Yeah, it doesn't heal quickly.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
And you know, he looked good last week until he
had to come out of the game after reinjuring the ankle,
and that was the end of the Charger chances of
winning that game. I would not risk it at all
against the Chiefs, really, one of the best defenses in
the league. I'm going to throw him out there and
he's not one hundred percent.

Speaker 5 (31:36):
But what if he is better than you think he is.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
Well, you've got to be able to move.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
He's going to be under intense pressure, especially with Joe
Alt even as a rookie. He's your best offensive lineman out.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
Of the game.

Speaker 5 (31:49):
Now, I hear you, I hear you.

Speaker 4 (31:50):
I just really think the Chargers with Justin Herber have
a chance to beat the Chiefs healthy Justin yeah, even
not fully healthy, because the Chiefs have won I think
nine in a row. But if you look at their scores,
they've all been one score games except for one against
the Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
We brought this up.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
I told you if you look at mahomes numbers in
the last eight regular season games, mid eleven touchdowns, nine
interception mid as.

Speaker 5 (32:15):
The kids say, not even.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
I mean that is below standard in the National Football League.

Speaker 5 (32:21):
That's what he's saying. Yeah, but I just it's frustrating.
I want him to play.

Speaker 4 (32:27):
But what you're saying is very logical, and I am
taking the non logical approach here.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
By the way, Texas and Mississippi State. We mentioned it
was fourteen to six at half time, right number one team?
Would you say thirty eight and a half point favorites.
Now we have a minute a half to go in
the third quarter. It is now fourteen to six Texas.
No score in this third quarter?

Speaker 5 (32:49):
What isnte McConaughey not there?

Speaker 2 (32:51):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (32:51):
Arch Manning at quarterback. You look at his numbers, twenty
at twenty five, two hundred and fifty five yards of score,
no picks.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
What do we mean here?

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Why are they not getting in the end zone against
a one in three Mississippi State team? This is one
of the worst teams in the Southeastern Conference?

Speaker 2 (33:09):
Why so? I mean this is sort of across the board.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
You know, we talk about the NFL so early into
the season and just a handful of undefeated teams, and
then college football no real standouts. A lot of parody
right now or parodi in both college football and the
NFL on the other side, though, it is time for
you know what, Yes, it's time for a Heisman Update.

(33:35):
This is Fox Football Saturday.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio

Speaker 2 (33:50):
Steve Hartman and Montci Belanias.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
Here we are Fox Football Saturday, coming alive from the
tai Iraq dot com studios.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
All right, let's not delay the inevitable. It is that time.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
It's the update. Heisman Update.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
By the way, Mont see, we have a legend on
the board today. Alex is here. I know threw me
off women today, Alex what happened here? So basically, long
story shorts.

Speaker 7 (34:20):
Mary has been a a one fan of mine and
helped me take multiple days off on was half the year.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
So if she needs some time off, what kind of actors?

Speaker 4 (34:28):
I'm actually surprised he gave the honest answer.

Speaker 9 (34:31):
I did.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
I'm there.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
I think the last time we saw this, last time
we saw Alex here, he'd been sleeping in his car.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Yeah, that actually happens still sometimes. Yeah, I know that here.
You gotta do what you gotta do and I not
sleep in a car to work TV radio, Steve, but
you know.

Speaker 3 (34:46):
That, yes, I've We've all slept in strange places over
the years.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
No question, Let's just do all right.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
It's something that I rarely call attention to, although I
try to do it as many times as I can.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
That's the Beast knows.

Speaker 5 (35:00):
Tell him. I don't think he knows.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Did you know that I have a Heisman vote and
actual vote for the Heisman, like like something out of
a Cereal box.

Speaker 3 (35:07):
No, no, no, there are eight hundred and seventy media
members that actually vote for the Heisman.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
The name, the number does not change. There's only two
ways to lose your vote. One you lead the state
that you got the vote in, or you dropped.

Speaker 9 (35:19):
At the Do you want to tell people how you
skip the line to get this distinction?

Speaker 2 (35:24):
You don't.

Speaker 3 (35:25):
I will say I got my vote back in twenty
ten thanks to my good friend Pat Hayden, who was
a longtime commentator.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Remember Notre name football.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
Padding was IRONI had a USC quarterback doing Notre Dame football,
but he took the athletic director job at USC, so
that sort of said, yeah, you can't be voting for
the Heisman when you're the ad of one of the
schools is maybe yeah, maybe slightly so yeah, somebody did
jump me to the front of the line, and that's
how I got my vote right. So each week I
like to update on where I stand in the Heisman race.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
So here is my current number three. Give it to
gym Ty up the middle, thirty five thirty into the clear,
fifty thirty ton of down thirty twenty ten boise status
without a point.

Speaker 5 (36:13):
Ask the gymty seventy yards on the store another gipty touchdown?

Speaker 3 (36:18):
All right, Bobyler there from lear Field. So here's what
you need to know about Ashton genty. He leads the
nation in rushing almost two hundred yards again last week
they played Portland State. He played a half still had
over one hundred yards nine touchdowns. So when you are
leading the nation in rushing by more than twenty yards
per game, that's a sure way to get on my list.
Here is my current number two. Here comes Luke Richison

(36:41):
with a final call.

Speaker 7 (36:42):
The further review ruling on the field stands buff.

Speaker 6 (36:47):
Nation, go out of your mind. Put the homecoming win
on a rady night. Here in Bowler HiT's Ober in
one overtime thirty eight and thirty one, and Travis Hunter
has done it again. I'll say again, Jim Veppman the Heisman,
Holy Kyle?

Speaker 2 (37:03):
Is he an impactful player? Well, that's Mark Johnson from Leirfield.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
Well, Travis Hunter is definitely in the mix and gonna
stay there as Colorado more than a two touchdown underdog
today on the road against an undefeated UCF team is
leading and driving again thirty four to twenty one. By
the way, in this game, Travis Hunter has nine catches,
seventy nine yards and a score. He's had at least
one hundred yards receiving in every game so far this year,

(37:30):
playing both ways. So again, what's the award for best
college football player of that year? Travis Hunter is very
much in the mix. He's my number two. Here is
my number one.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
Ward is in the shotgun two yards or paydirt. He takes,
he looks, he throws, don Ward's done it.

Speaker 8 (37:49):
Touchdown tuchdown by with runs fifty seven ago of the game.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
But RIrA Kanes have their reward.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
That's Miami network. And yes, he engineered a big gunback yesterday.
It looked like Miami was in deep trouble and maybe
they should have had a l We'll get to that
in a second. But cam Ward four touchdown passes he
ran for a touchdown on the season, eighteen touchdown passes,
four picks. He's completing better than seventy percent of his passes.

(38:20):
And more importantly, the Miami Hurricanes are sitting at five
and zero. Now, you watch that last play.

Speaker 5 (38:25):
That was brittle.

Speaker 3 (38:26):
So I was watching the game live, and you know,
they always say this, what's the call in the field?
Call in the field was Virginia Tech touchdown on the
hail Mary some six seven minutes passes?

Speaker 2 (38:38):
They review this play every angle.

Speaker 3 (38:41):
There was not a clear, definitive angle, and I believe
rightfully the announcers on the game said, look, unless you
got clear evidence to reverse the call, you got to
stay with the call, which is what I thought they
would do. Instead, they magically reversed the call for the
home team, Miami, which by the way, continues to give
the ACC undefeated, top ten ranked team in Miami.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Of course, Florida States had a rough year.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
It's not been a great start for the ACC, but
they do have one undefeated team still and that's the U.

Speaker 4 (39:12):
Yeah, that was a tough play to swallow. You always
hear that the refs won't win or lose you the game.

Speaker 5 (39:17):
You have to play it.

Speaker 4 (39:18):
That one play, though, was really hard to accept because
of the ruling that the player, the other player, the
defensive player, was stepping out of bounds when he also
was touching the ball. That was the determination. Okay, so
where was the control? Did he have control of the ball?

Speaker 3 (39:34):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (39:34):
He did. He did have control of the ball.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
He came down with both hands on the ball.

Speaker 3 (39:39):
As he went down, the ball was knocked out of
his hands, and their ruling was again, is that the
Miami player who had his hands a defender, he was
laying on his back out of bounds, And I'm like,
that has nothing to do with it. The guy that
caught the ball for Virginia Tech had both hands on
the ball, came down and as soon as he came
down with both fet clearly in the end zone. It

(40:02):
doesn't matter if it's then knocked out.

Speaker 5 (40:05):
I don't know who made the call, but someone made
a call.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
Well, somebody made a call that allowed my By the way,
I was thinking, do I still have Camward in my
top three? The answers had they lost He still would
have been in my top three, but not number one.
We got a lot of NFL football to get to.
This is Fox Football Saturday, rolling along on another fully
loaded sports Saturday. Fox Football Saturday broadcasting live from the

(40:31):
ti rack dot Com studios.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Tire rack dot com.

Speaker 3 (40:33):
We're gonna help get you there and our match selection,
fast free shipping, free road assid protection, over ten thousand
recommend an installers, tire rack dot com the way tire
buying should be. This is the last weekend of the
Major League Baseball regular season, but after the horrific Hurricane Helene,

(40:53):
we have a doubleheader tomorrow they could decide not one,
but two slots in the postseason for the National League.
The Mets and the Braves, who had a midweek three
game series scheduled had to postpone two games because of Helen,
and they will play this double header on Monday, and

(41:15):
this could get really interesting. The Padres already clinched that
wild card slot, and then you have the Arizona Diamondbacks
in the mix, and then you have the Mets and
you have the Braves. So yeah, it's that time when
we get to the baseball postseason. Monci and I you know, look,
you know, I know that you're been Dodger person everything else,

(41:38):
and the Dodgers are well, they're always in the playoffs.
That's twelve straight years. Eleven of those years they won
the division title. The one year the Giants had to
win one hundred and seven games to eke out a
division title. But when we talk about postseason baseball versus
still early NFL regular season games, you would think that

(42:02):
this is where Major League Baseball could get a little
wedge into the football scene. And what we have seen
over the last many, many years is that no, it's
it's not going to do anything, even when we get
all the way to the World Series.

Speaker 4 (42:20):
Yeah, the little wedge that it gets is that people
are gonna pay attention to the score.

Speaker 5 (42:25):
They're gonna they're gonna check on their phone. They're not
gonna watch the game maybe, but they're gonna check the score.

Speaker 3 (42:30):
Do you think Tani being in the postseason for the
first time is gonna get eyeballs?

Speaker 5 (42:37):
I'm sure it will, but I don't think it will like.

Speaker 4 (42:39):
Move the needle in a way that we like saw
Caitlin Clark do with the w NBA.

Speaker 5 (42:43):
I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (42:43):
I guess I say, I think it'll be a small
wedge where they're just gonna pay a little bit more
attention to it.

Speaker 5 (42:48):
I think we're gonna be checking in, Oh, what is
Adani doing, what's Aaron Judge doing.

Speaker 4 (42:52):
I think that's more of the wedge that they get here.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
Here's one problem for major ly Baseball.

Speaker 3 (42:57):
So you've had I mean, you could make an argument
easily on either side who's had a better.

Speaker 2 (43:02):
Year Aaron Judg or show Heyo Tom. I mean obviously
the fifty to fifty.

Speaker 3 (43:06):
But if you look at Aaron Judges numbers, more home runs,
more RBI's, higher batting average, second percentage over seven.

Speaker 2 (43:13):
Hundred stud I mean, these two guys.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
The problem is they're on the two most polarizing teams
in baseball, the Dodgers and the Yankees. If you're not
a Dodger fan, you're a Dodger hater. If you're not
a Yankee fan, you're a Yankee hate ter. So you're
not really picking up neutrals with either one of these teams.
I mean either, Like I said, there's very little neutral

(43:39):
when it comes to the Dodgers and Yankees. It's like,
I don't really you know, well, then you don't follow baseball.
But if you do follow baseball, with both of these teams,
either you are all in or you are all out.
And that's hard to sort of draw in people when
your two stars are on teams like this.

Speaker 5 (44:00):
I do not disagree.

Speaker 4 (44:01):
In fact, I think the Detroit Tigers are going to
be bringing in these neutrals.

Speaker 2 (44:07):
They could not about the Kansas City Royal.

Speaker 4 (44:09):
The Kansas City Royals who lost how many last year
one hundred and six or seven? But the Detroit Tiger
is what they've done. It's literally the impossible, you know,
Like they traded some of their best pieces and then
they had a point i think zero two chance to
make the playoffs after the All Star break, and here
they are, like, I think they're the ones that are

(44:30):
going to bring in the neutrals.

Speaker 5 (44:32):
But because you're right, you're right.

Speaker 3 (44:34):
By the way, I have been saying something repeatedly on
the air over the last several weekends that I was
wrong about and has nothing about predictions, because I'm on
I'm wrong on almost every one of my predictions. What
really bothers me It was a factual thing that I
claimed as a fact that indeed was not a fact.
Oh what so I've been saying this about school the

(44:54):
picture the left hander for the Tigers.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
Creek schoobl Tariak Schoobel Schoobol.

Speaker 3 (44:58):
And Chris SAOs had this insane coumback season for the
Atlanta Brays. Both of these pitchers are gonna end up
winning the Triple Crown of pitching this year. That's leading
their league in wins, strikeouts in ERA. It's a little
more common than hitting for a Triple Crown, but still
a very rare feat. And I've said repeatedly over the

(45:20):
last several weeks, we've never had a season where both
leagues had a triple Crown winner in pitching.

Speaker 5 (45:25):
And it did happen.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
Not only did it happen, it happened that long ago.

Speaker 5 (45:29):
Kershaw was one of them, and Justin.

Speaker 3 (45:31):
Verlander for the Tigers, ironically a Tiger that was twenty eleven.

Speaker 2 (45:35):
It was the only year.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
I mean, Kursse has had many years where he's led
the league in wins or strikeouts at ERA, but he
only had one year when he did all three and
it was the same year that Verlander did. In the
American League, by the way, Verlinder was MVP in the
American League that year. So yeah, you know you said.
I started as saying, I assume like it had never
happened because it's so rare it would happen in both

(45:57):
leagues in the same year, But in reality it did it.

Speaker 5 (46:00):
When you said that, I thought you were wrong, but
you know you're Steve Hartman.

Speaker 2 (46:03):
I was like, oh, I see that's the problem.

Speaker 3 (46:04):
You know, I start believing my own hypes sometimes no
I happened upon and I'm like, I'm going to have
to come clean on that one.

Speaker 2 (46:12):
That was wrong.

Speaker 3 (46:13):
It doesn't take away from the remarkable achievement for both
these pitchers right now. But I mean you're looking at
unanimous Cy Young Award winners. I dare say unanimous MVPs.
I mean, I know they're Bobby with you, you know
some people, and for a while there Lindor with the
metsun No. Yeah, I mean Aaron, Judge and Shoe Otani

(46:39):
are having I mean unbelievable Yeah, and they wrapped it.

Speaker 5 (46:45):
Up a while ago too, like it hasn't even really
been but even.

Speaker 3 (46:48):
Down the stretch, like you remember, Judge had sixteen straight games,
then he had five straight games, I know, with a
home run so good.

Speaker 4 (46:54):
Yeah, both of them have really been so fun to
watch all season. It's been a it's been a treat.
But the only one that might not be unanimous, maybe
it's the rocky of the year, especially like in the
last National League. Absolutely, that's the one that may be.

Speaker 2 (47:06):
Like, yeah, the Skeins, yeah yeah, but the major one.

Speaker 4 (47:11):
The major Yeah, all wrapped up.

Speaker 3 (47:14):
Can I ask a question about show Heyo Tani, because
obviously he is h he's very much in the news
with his historic season that he's had, just crazy year.
Fernando Valenzuela as a twenty year old when he broke
in and had his breakout Fernando Mania year, did not

(47:34):
speak English, and eventually he went from not speaking English
had an interpreter with him at all times, to literally
like speaking English. It took him about four years and
from that point on he spoke English. The reason I'm
asking us show Hao Tani this is his seventh Major

(47:57):
league season.

Speaker 2 (48:00):
I believe that we will ever have Sho Hao Tani.

Speaker 3 (48:02):
I'm sure he understands English and maybe he's not comfortable
speaking English. But again, when we're talking about marketing a
player of the magnitude of a show Heo Tani for
him to come out and speak English, even if it's
not perfect English, do you think it's a factor. Does
it matter with it because he can be he's such

(48:25):
a valuable piece of Major League Baseball right now? Yes,
And I know some players don't. Vladimir Guerrera, a Hall
of Fame player, tremendous player, never spoke English, yeaver in
a sixteen year major league career.

Speaker 2 (48:38):
Never. I'm sure he did. He just never did it
with the media at all.

Speaker 3 (48:43):
But I wonder do you believe, especially for the Dodge
organization that has nine more years on their commitment with
this guy, is that something that's important.

Speaker 5 (48:52):
I don't think so, to be honest with you.

Speaker 4 (48:54):
And it's kind of funny that both MVPs are a
little bit shy, cause Aaron Judge also it's not does
not want the attention the way others do. Right, So
it's funny that they're both that style. I really don't
think it negatively affects the.

Speaker 5 (49:08):
Dodgers organization because Showhy.

Speaker 4 (49:12):
Does doesn't just talk the talk, he walks the walk, right,
and he does speak English.

Speaker 5 (49:17):
He speaks English.

Speaker 4 (49:19):
I think it's just more of I think I said
it to you like a security blanket having the interpreter.

Speaker 5 (49:23):
Interpreter there when it comes to the media.

Speaker 4 (49:25):
But I mean when he showed emotion two games ago,
our last game, he literally said.

Speaker 5 (49:30):
F yeah. He knows English. You can read his lips.
He said, f yeah. He looked at the dugout. He
speaks English.

Speaker 4 (49:37):
He does he want the attention that maybe the league
wants him to want?

Speaker 3 (49:42):
No?

Speaker 2 (49:43):
Well, but I mean what did the Dodgers want?

Speaker 5 (49:46):
Doesn't matter.

Speaker 3 (49:47):
You're paying him more money than a player in the
history of baseball. You're already a great team. I mean,
if this season falls short of winning a World Series
and then they're no better off than they were before.
You know, this is going to be a real test
for the Dodgers. By the way, there will be the
one seed. Yes, they were the one seed last year,

(50:08):
and how did that work? He lose to a six
seed Arizona in the first round of the playoffs. And
there's still plenty of questions about the Dodger pitching going
into the postseason.

Speaker 2 (50:16):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (50:17):
I mean, like, is he emotional to the fans love him?
Obviously they do.

Speaker 2 (50:24):
Does it take it next level? I don't know.

Speaker 5 (50:26):
I think he does take a next level.

Speaker 4 (50:27):
And he does it with his game, not with hosting
a podcast, not with doing a commercial.

Speaker 5 (50:35):
He does it by delivering in the middle of the games.

Speaker 3 (50:39):
Well, I mean, the Angel suffered with Mike Trout, who
does speak English only and did nothing over the course
of his major league career to raise his profile in
any manner that would have not only maybe helped him
which he was an interest in obviously, but could have
heldled the Angels.

Speaker 2 (50:59):
Yeah, he just didn't want to do it, and the
Angels allowed him to be who he was. Yeah, I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (51:07):
Baseball just needs that breakouts. That's the one thing that's
missing for That's why this is what I talk about
when the baseball needs something as they go into the postseason,
right to get a few more eyeballs. And one of
the ways to get eyeballs is what we just saw
in the WNBA with Cait mcclark.

Speaker 4 (51:26):
I mean, part of the problem though, is that the
baseball season is so long. It's hard to want to
keep your eyeballs on that sport for one hundred and
sixty two games.

Speaker 3 (51:35):
But October screams postseason baseball.

Speaker 5 (51:39):
It does, and it's people are going to watch.

Speaker 3 (51:41):
And it's you know, we're still early in the NFL season, right,
We're still October is a great opportunity because you've got November, December,
January for both the pro and college football game. Baseball
should be able to take advantage of the month of October.

Speaker 4 (51:56):
If the World Series is the Yankees and the Dodgers,
they will take over, you believe, Yes, it's because of
the haters. Honestly, it's going to because people want to
want to watch the Dodgers lose.

Speaker 5 (52:07):
They want to watch the Yankees lose.

Speaker 4 (52:09):
If that is the World Series, it will it will
move the needle, it will take over all right.

Speaker 2 (52:13):
Well, we'll see how that plays out.

Speaker 3 (52:15):
But I just you know again, it's it is an
opportunity for Major League Baseball again with two players just
having superhuman seasons in shohy Otani and Aaron Judge on
marquee teams, and can Major League Baseball figure out a
way to wrestle themselves a little more audience going up
against the football season. By the way, USC after being

(52:38):
down twenty one to ten at home against Wisconsin, blows
away Wisconsin by a score of thirty eight to twenty one.
That game is now over I think Wisconsin just melted
in the heat of southern California.

Speaker 2 (52:51):
It's what it looked like to me.

Speaker 3 (52:52):

but they are.

All right, so we are waiting countdown here on this
Alabama Georgia games should be kicking off in about ten minutes.
Big battle two great rivals. Georgia rank number two, Alabama
number four, and the latest AP rankings. Also big surprise
today Colorado on the road. They are for real. They're

(54:14):
gonna go to four and one, blowing out Central Florida
on the road where they were two touchdown underdogs. They're
up twenty right now. So Deon Sanders coach Prime is
getting the job done at Colorado and Texas the number
one team in the country. They're gonna win today, but
not by the thirty eight and a half they were
favored over Mississippi State. Yeah, they're only up by fifteen

(54:37):
right now. So arch Manning's played well. It will be
interesting with quinn Ewers, who is hurt still. Do they
turn the page on quinn Ewers so obviously was a
Heisman candidate until he went down with his injury, or
do you say it's the arch Manning era and we're

(54:58):
gonna stay with us. This is the team ranked number
one in the country.

Speaker 4 (55:04):
That's a tough decision. It is do you fix something
that's not broken? Do you remove something that's.

Speaker 2 (55:11):
Worth quin Yours was not broken, He.

Speaker 4 (55:13):
Wasn't, but now he's unfortunately hasn't played two weeks in
a row.

Speaker 2 (55:17):
Do you Okay?

Speaker 3 (55:18):
But if you say, was quinn Ewers playing better than
arch Manning is right now, I'd say that's certainly arguable.
But I would say, yeah, with his experience, quin Ewers
was better than arch.

Speaker 4 (55:30):
Manning, right, And I think the plan was to move
forward with Quinn Yours for a lot longer than the
first two weeks, but it didn't happen. So now you're
presented with the situation that may be uncomfortable to make
a decision on.

Speaker 3 (55:40):
I'd be rough on quin Yours, who is being projected
as a possible first round picking the NFL coming up
next year.

Speaker 5 (55:46):
I assume they go back to quin Yours.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
I assume all right.

Speaker 3 (55:48):
Well, speaking of quarterback controversies, how do you think it's
going to play out with the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers Right now?
You could make the argument that Justin Fields has been well,
I'll put it this way, he hasn't lost a game
for the Steelers. The question as hetty, has he won
a game for the Steelers. This is a defense that

(56:10):
is as good, if not the best defense right now
in the NFL. They just seem to completely shut down
our opponents, and you have to make a decision. You
can say, well, you know they're winning, so why make
a change. But can he actually win you a game
when inevitably the Steelers defense doesn't have that really good

(56:32):
day at the office.

Speaker 5 (56:34):
I think they're still figuring that out.

Speaker 2 (56:38):
Yes, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (56:40):
Luckily for them though, they're playing the Colts next and
I think they're going to stand defeated at least another week.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
You do, I do?

Speaker 5 (56:49):
I do?

Speaker 4 (56:51):
Justin Fields may have not won them in the game,
but he hasn't made mistakes to cost him the game.
And whether you want to look at him as a
game manager or not, he is managing the game well
for a good defensive Mike Tomlinson team.

Speaker 5 (57:04):
I don't know, if you I don't. I would not
remove him for Russell Wilson not I don't think I would.

Speaker 3 (57:13):
It's world Okay, Well, let's say they lose this game
against the Colts. And he doesn't play loud, and let's
just say he plays okay, But I mean, let's I mean,
the Colts do have one of the better offensive lines
in the league. Maybe they can semi neutralize that defensive
front of the Steelers. If Jonathan Taylor gets off, that
obviously makes things a little bit easier for Anthony Richards.

Speaker 2 (57:33):
And let's just say get you know, they win the game.

Speaker 3 (57:35):
Twenty one to fourteen, and Fields doesn't play great again,
but this time they end up losing. And assuming that
Russell Wilson is healthy, do you immediately make a change
or do you get feels another opportunity? See my point here,
here's the thing, what what future do you have with
Russell Wilson?

Speaker 2 (57:54):
Right?

Speaker 3 (57:55):
But they don't think in terms of that. The Steelers,
since you have a coach Mike Tomlin, it's never had
a losing season. He's not about to start one now,
especially after a three and zho start. But then again,
if you have to make a decision, it's not just
about justin Fields playing right now for an injured Russell
Wilson's is justin fields your quarterback.

Speaker 2 (58:18):
Of the future.

Speaker 3 (58:19):
That's what you're trying to figure out, right now you know,
Russell Wilson not the quarterback of the future, but it's
Justin feels the quarterback of the future. And if you've
already made that decision, then yeah, there's no reason to
take him out.

Speaker 4 (58:31):
Yeah, I don't think they've made that decision. I think
they're in the midst of it, and.

Speaker 2 (58:37):
You don't.

Speaker 4 (58:38):
If you do think that he is your quarterback of
the future, you definitely don't want to bench him, even
with the loss, if you think he is your quarterback
of the future. But if you're still you know, if
you're still if the jury is still hung on that
and you're not sure, then maybe you see what Russell
Wilson can do, because it's definitely a different type of quarterbacks.
So maybe maybe you're curious to see what Wilson does

(58:58):
with these twos, so maybe you do try him out again.

Speaker 3 (59:04):
If you look at Justin Field's numbers this year, they're.

Speaker 5 (59:07):
Not anything that's going to stand out. That's not going
to stand out to you.

Speaker 3 (59:10):
No, So it's like, Okay, he hasn't done anything to
lose a game for them yet. I mean, he has
a high completion percentage, but he isn't throwing many passes.

Speaker 2 (59:21):
So it's going to be interesting to say.

Speaker 3 (59:23):
I don't think Pittsburgh is any lock against Indianapolis this week.
I mean I've been watching the Steelers week after week
and I'm like, Okay, by the way, one quarterback that
ed's been playing well is going to go to the bench.
Malik Willis. Now, he far exceeded anything I ever thought
he could do. I mean I said almost on first

(59:44):
sight when I saw him with Tennessee, like, I'm sorry,
this guy is not an NFL quarterback. It's not that
you don't have the arm, but you got to throw
the ball accurately, and you've got to be able to
make split second decisions.

Speaker 2 (59:56):
And he didn't really seem capable of doing either.

Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
Not all of a sudden Green Bay and know all,
a little injury to Jordan Love and you throw him
in there and it's like, okay, he's playing well.

Speaker 5 (01:00:06):
Yeah, I mean this really I think goes to.

Speaker 2 (01:00:08):
Jordan love Is back.

Speaker 4 (01:00:10):
Think about how many years did Aaron Rodgers sit before
becoming a starter?

Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
Four full years, four full years something.

Speaker 5 (01:00:18):
You just don't see anymore.

Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
I feel like quarterbacks are expected to deliver so quickly.

Speaker 5 (01:00:22):
And maybe Malik Willis really needed.

Speaker 4 (01:00:24):
To just kind of take a step back and watch
and learn. And here he comes on a new team where.

Speaker 5 (01:00:32):
It seems like it's a good fit. But I you
go back to Jordan Love. You go back to Jordan
Love though.

Speaker 3 (01:00:39):
By the way, technically so he has he sat for
three full years, got nothing but makeup. And then the
first year that he did start in Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers,
he was six and ten.

Speaker 8 (01:00:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
Yeah, so it was like, okay, we waited for this.

Speaker 3 (01:00:55):
Yeah, and then the next year he wins the two
years later he won the.

Speaker 4 (01:00:59):
Super Yeah, you have to go back to Jordan Love though.

Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
This one. You have to agree.

Speaker 5 (01:01:06):
Yeah, there's no question about it.

Speaker 4 (01:01:07):
But it's great to see, right because he's not one
hundred percent Yeah, then you know he is your franchise quarterback.
So if he is not one hundred percent fully healthy
and he does struggle, and the reasons he struggles is
because he's not healthy, then.

Speaker 5 (01:01:25):
You you sit him back down so he doesn't get hurt.
And by the way, for your franchise quarterback, why.

Speaker 3 (01:01:30):
You got green Bay at home this week, but they're
going against a Vikings team that looking pretty good with
Sam Darnold.

Speaker 4 (01:01:36):
Yeah, I know, and I I they still lead the
NFL with sacks with fifty four quarterback pressures entering Week four.
That is still Minnesota, but green Bay they're leading in
takeaways seven interceptions already. Last year they only had seven
interceptions all season. It's it's I don't know who I
would take here, because I it's just who's gonna who's

(01:01:58):
gonna adjust better?

Speaker 3 (01:02:01):
Well, these are the decisions that people get paid a
lot of money to make.

Speaker 5 (01:02:03):
Yeah, I don't want to make these decisions.

Speaker 3 (01:02:05):
I know one decision I'm going to make right now
to find out what is trending. And this is the
easiest decision of the day because we turn to a
guy like Bryan Finley, who again he'll be up late, late, late,
late late tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
Oh yeah, very late. So that what is that like
a three hour postgame show? It is one hour.

Speaker 9 (01:02:23):
We take phone calls and I essentially kind of like
what I do with you, Steve. So yeah, once, as
you know, Steve gets here very early, many hours before
the show, and oftentimes he will be sitting in this cubicle,
if you will, with me, talking about his life. Sometimes
I feel like I'm part therapist for him. Sometimes I
feel like I'm part babysitter for him, and those are

(01:02:45):
the two things that they do on the show because
oftentimes people are calling and complaining about how the game went,
and I'm there trying to ease their woes and their
sorrows and say it's gonna be okay.

Speaker 2 (01:02:56):
It's going to be okay. Now, I will say this though,
Now look at when we engage.

Speaker 3 (01:03:01):
And by the way, he literally has an open door policy,
the only update guy that keeps his door open, so
I always know when the door is open, it's Befen
in there, you know. And obviously I want to find
out about his newly married life. Everything seems to be
going good. But I did offer you as stat. Do
not give it out? Okay, well not, but I gave
you a stat to use on the postgame UCLA talk.

Speaker 9 (01:03:26):
Albeit you're assuming and you're only thinking about that stat.

Speaker 2 (01:03:29):
More so if they.

Speaker 3 (01:03:30):
Lose, well, I think again, they're twenty five and a
half point underdogs. So as much as I'll be rooting
for UCLA to win, most likely at home against Oregon,
they will lose most likely.

Speaker 2 (01:03:42):
But I don't believe me. I would hope they shock
the world. Yeah, I don't think like LSU last week.
I don't think Oregon is going to cover in their
matchup against Okay, so you think that, but that still
means an L. Are you really you can't get like
a half of an L for that or something?

Speaker 3 (01:03:55):
I hope. But I did give you a stat that
if they do lose, yes, you'll it'd probably come.

Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
I been conversation, not pessimism at.

Speaker 5 (01:04:02):
All if they lose.

Speaker 9 (01:04:04):
More like Steve saying, when they lose, how dare you
your UCLA grad?

Speaker 5 (01:04:08):
He's too logical.

Speaker 3 (01:04:09):
I was that way when I was doing commentary and
UCLA football as the one year analyst. I like to
speak the truth. Who's listening, right, the UCLA fans. So
if they're really good, I'm cheering loud. If they're bad,
that was brutal on them. Yeah, brutal.

Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
This is a washball? Is that what you said? Pretty much?

Speaker 6 (01:04:30):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
Yeah? Yeah? Anyway, that was my only year, by the way,
is the Yeah, it was already correlation behind that. They
eased me out after that.

Speaker 9 (01:04:38):
Yeah, yeah, but I think you managed okay career wise
ever since. And from who they're cheering about, who is watchable?
I would have to put under those categories arch manning
for Texas. Right now, he is dealing for the Longhorns, handing.

Speaker 7 (01:04:55):
To take the staff out third down at a long
nine half the STAF pressure coming to sixty FO.

Speaker 9 (01:05:06):
Texas Longhorns Radio network arch manning three hundred and twenty
four yards passing two touchdowns. Were late in the fourth
quarter and the number one Dexas Longhorns owning a thirty
four to thirteen edge against Mississippi State, Number seventeen Clemson
scoring first. And who would have thought a battle between
two ACC teams in Clemson and Stanford twelve twenty in

(01:05:29):
the first quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
So they're just getting underway.

Speaker 9 (01:05:31):
They're number eighteen Iowa State, they're three and oh and
they're up three oh against Houston midway through the first quarter.
FS one is where you can watch that one as
Monte and Steve were mentioning a couple of big time
matchups coming up here in the prime time, with number
four Alabama set to take on number two Georgia in
a battle of two three and oh teams, and also

(01:05:52):
that one is going to be at seven thirty, so
seconds away from that one starting, also seconds away from
number three Ohio State meeting up with Michigan State earlier
number sixteen Notre Dame held on against number fifteen level
thirty one to twenty four Number thirteen USC, using twenty
eight unanswered second half points to roll in a thirty
eight to twenty one win over Wisconsin. Number twelve. Michigan

(01:06:15):
holds off with stans the comeback minded Minnesota Golden Gophers
twenty seven to twenty four. Number six ol miss sleepwalking
in this one.

Speaker 2 (01:06:24):
Thought they had it in the bag and that.

Speaker 9 (01:06:27):
Showed by their inability to close this one out twenty
to seventeen. They get uprooted in the form of a
loss to unranked Kentucky at vad Hemingway Stadium in Oxford.
Also number twenty three Kansas State wins against number twenty
Oklahoma State forty two to twenty. A win for number
twenty one Oklahoma twenty seven to twenty one against Auburn

(01:06:49):
number twenty two BYU victorious Baylor takes the l thirty
four to twenty eight. Number twenty four Texas A and
M holds off the fighting Sampitans of Arkansas twenty one
to seventeen. And a couple of nuggets related to the NFL,
because yes, we do have a busy day of NFL

(01:07:09):
on this late tomorrow. We do know that, according to reports,
Packers quarterback Jordan Love will be active and supposedly in
the starting lineup for Green Bay in their game against
the Vikings, this after he was inactive the last two games.
And Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert throw him out there and
see what he can do. He's got a high ankle sprain,

(01:07:31):
but he's going to battle through. They're going to keep
him in the starting lineup, although they are Montsien Steve
gonna evaluate that.

Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
Ankle and see how it holds up.

Speaker 9 (01:07:41):
But it doesn't seem like there's an option for him
other than to play.

Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
It's against the Chiefs, so you just sick.

Speaker 5 (01:07:50):
But he doesn't feel that way.

Speaker 3 (01:07:51):
I just seen him because it's the chief if he's not,
and a high ankle sprain is a very tough injury
to fight through. And now you're going against one of
the best defense in the league and they want to
they want to put him out, okay, and if it
gets worse, now you're really up against him. It's a
game you're not expected to win. Your a seven point
underdog at HUT. They're banged up anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:08:14):
Plus your your top player, Joe All to your number one.

Speaker 3 (01:08:17):
Pick, who's already your best offensive tackles out of this game,
I just wouldn't play him.

Speaker 2 (01:08:22):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 1 (01:08:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:08:23):
And also just to mention, to add on to that,
we also know that Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown he's
downgraded to ALF.

Speaker 2 (01:08:31):
So that is a big move in the.

Speaker 9 (01:08:34):
Terms of fantasy football. I know, Steve, You're you're fully
ingratiated in that world.

Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
Now, No Hylas played in nineteen eighty seven. Wow, I
didn't know that existed. Yeah I was.

Speaker 3 (01:08:46):
I'll explain that on another day. Uh befing great stuff.
Once again, this is Fox Football Saturday. We are live
from the tirag dot com studios.

Speaker 2 (01:08:56):
Montsei. Would you like to introduce this next segment please?

Speaker 5 (01:09:00):
This next segment we're figuring still out the name.

Speaker 2 (01:09:03):
Do we have a name on this segment?

Speaker 5 (01:09:07):
We want to know too. We want to know too.
We have game Day geniuses, is what our producer Patrick.
I like that one has a thought of which I
like too.

Speaker 2 (01:09:16):
Which is just mocking me, obviously mocking, but MONSI liked.
I thought it was I don't catch it.

Speaker 7 (01:09:23):
It is.

Speaker 2 (01:09:23):
It should just be game Day genius.

Speaker 4 (01:09:27):
Right, because you knows, all right, it's that time for Patrick,
our brilliant producer, to pick out three random games.

Speaker 3 (01:09:36):
We have no idea in advance which games they are
to make our picks. And last week I decided to
add a couple of layers to this by saying that,
all right, we're just picking winners. We're not going against
the spread. But if you want to pick up a point,
you go on the over under. But if you get

(01:09:57):
the over under wrong, you lose a point.

Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
And only I can do this right.

Speaker 3 (01:10:04):
So last week, the one game I got right that
Monsy got wrong was I had the Lions, she had
the Cardinals did so I get the point there. But
that's also the game I decided to go over and
it wasn't even close. It was a big undergame, so
I literally gave the point back. So what are the
standings right now?

Speaker 8 (01:10:24):
Well, kind of with that now again, I was also
kind of doing like the record, like the sevens and loss.
That's kind of how I'm doing the negative point for you, Steve,
Like it's as of how it stands, because MONSI does
get the extra point with that mac Jones there.

Speaker 2 (01:10:41):
Yeah, so also we get an extra moms.

Speaker 8 (01:10:43):
He's looking at seven and three. Steve, you were at
four and six just with the added and bone.

Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
Seven three, four and six. All right, yell, that means I'm.

Speaker 4 (01:10:51):
Down lucky that didn't get genius?

Speaker 5 (01:10:55):
Remember that?

Speaker 2 (01:10:56):
Yes, you did.

Speaker 3 (01:10:57):
We say make a bold prediction, and you predicted that somehow,
some way Mac Jones was going to see the field
and he did.

Speaker 2 (01:11:05):
He did.

Speaker 3 (01:11:06):
And then I followed that up by he was saying
Jacksonville was going to get shut out.

Speaker 5 (01:11:10):
I did, And then I said C. J. Strau would
get sacked five times. It got sacked four.

Speaker 4 (01:11:14):
Because they took him out of the game because they
were losing, so that would have been another point for me.

Speaker 2 (01:11:18):
You're lucky, okay, just rubbing salt in the.

Speaker 5 (01:11:20):
Mo That's exactly what I've I'm believable.

Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
All right. What is our first game here? Patrick? All right? Well,
first game we got here?

Speaker 8 (01:11:28):
It is the Philadelphia Eagles at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Bucks are home and with the over under right now,
guys is forty two and a half points and the
Eagles are up point a half favorites.

Speaker 2 (01:11:43):
Why don't we start off.

Speaker 8 (01:11:44):
With mister Cannaball Hartman himself Steve go take it away.

Speaker 3 (01:11:48):
Okay, Yeah, Losers go first. All right, So we well
we just heard the Brown's out right. Age Brown's out
for the Eagles, which is going to make their already
suspect offense even more inept in this game. Both teams
sitting at two and one. The Eagles, they've really came
up with a big win last week. I mean, that
was a nice come from behind victory. Uh, but Jalen's

(01:12:10):
Hurts already has more interceptions and touchdown passes. I'm gonna
go with the Bucks at home. I'm gonna go with
the Bucks at home. I haven't decided on the over under.
It's not a big number forty two and a half,
but I'm gonna I'm gonna definitely go Bucks at home
to beat the Eagles.

Speaker 4 (01:12:25):
Yeah, I don't disagree Poor. You know, Jalen Hurts doesn't
have his offensive.

Speaker 5 (01:12:30):
Weapons that maybe he was hoping for.

Speaker 4 (01:12:32):
He's thrown an interception in seven straight games. He's given
the most giveaways since twenty twenty three.

Speaker 5 (01:12:39):
Like he he.

Speaker 4 (01:12:41):
Is not as reliable, I think as Philadelphia wants him
to be. But again, he's missing so many of his weapons.
So I'm also taking the Bucks at home on this.

Speaker 5 (01:12:47):
One, and you know what, I'm gonna take the under.

Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
Wow.

Speaker 8 (01:12:52):
We have our first taking over under on No. One
taking the under. All right, all right, I'm gonna go
on this game. I'm gonna go bold prediction on this one.

Speaker 3 (01:13:05):
Ready, Sakwan Barkley has less than fifty yards rushing?

Speaker 5 (01:13:09):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (01:13:10):
Is that bold enough? You know what I mean. He's
got he's averaging. Let's go with it.

Speaker 3 (01:13:15):
He's averaging one hundred and twenty yards rushing a game.
I say he has less than fifty yards rushing.

Speaker 5 (01:13:21):
That's bold, that is bold.

Speaker 2 (01:13:23):
Okay, Yeah, all right, good, I like that one. All Right,
I'm feeling good about myself. But sure, I'll tell you what.
Let's finish this up on the other side.

Speaker 3 (01:13:31):
As we continue on game day Genius, the ES is pending, hopefully.
This is Fox Football Saturday, Steve Harban Montsie Blogios. Here
Fox Football Saturday. We are live from the tire Rag
dot Com Studios. I want to thank our crew today,
Ryan Fanlely beefin doing a phenomenal job. He's got a

(01:13:53):
late night tonight doing UCLA postgame. Alex Hi Steve, it
is always great to see you, one of our great
in house legends here.

Speaker 5 (01:14:06):
It's true.

Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
I just want my plaque on the wall when I retire, Steve,
it'll be there.

Speaker 5 (01:14:11):
Make sure that, yeah, make sure that I think.

Speaker 3 (01:14:13):
I think of like those that have run the board,
legends that have moved on, John Ramos, John Ramos, one
of the great. But Alex and I did a lot
of shows together back in the day, a lot of shows,
and here we are still.

Speaker 2 (01:14:27):
Man, Steve, I could just say all of them. I
wish I could do them all again.

Speaker 3 (01:14:31):
Yes, I mean there's some memorable ones. And then we
have our brilliant young producer Patrick, who came up with
game Day Genius. But I'm saying it's premature. It's this
game day genius right now, is Monsi's been kicking my ass.

Speaker 8 (01:14:47):
Genius is because you got you're both geniuses. That's include
both of you.

Speaker 3 (01:14:51):
Well, in some ways I can probably wear that, but
not in this Picking games is not one of my
strong suits. But we're often running right now, one game
of the books? What is the second game here?

Speaker 2 (01:15:02):
Patrick? All right?

Speaker 8 (01:15:03):
So the second game we got going for us, it's
kind of one's gonna cook a little bit. We got
the Washington Commanders and they are at Steve Arizona for
your Cardinals. By the way, the Cardinals are three and
a half point favorites. Over under is forty eight point five. However, Moncey,
our fearless leader in the clubhouse, you go first.

Speaker 5 (01:15:25):
All right.

Speaker 4 (01:15:26):
So I don't know if I'm crazy for believing in
the Cardinals as much as I do. I did pick
them last week and they did not win, but they
didn't look great.

Speaker 5 (01:15:33):
I thought there was more in there.

Speaker 4 (01:15:35):
And then you have Jaden Daniels coming off his best
game for the Commanders, looking good, throwing, running the whole thing,
the whole thing. I am gonna take the Cardinals at
home against the Commanders.

Speaker 2 (01:15:53):
Over on there on this one is how much it is?
Forty eight and a half over under.

Speaker 3 (01:15:58):
A right, So two Heisman Trophy winning quarterbacks Kyler Murray
and Jaydon Daniels. Jade Daniels looked dynamite last week in Cincinnati,
but the Bengals defense is awful. It is awful, and
the Cardinals defense isn't much better.

Speaker 2 (01:16:15):
I'm going Cardinals in this game.

Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
Tough to win back to back road games for a
rookie quarterback, and I'm going.

Speaker 2 (01:16:23):
Over forty eight and a half. We got a big.

Speaker 3 (01:16:27):
Number over for I did this last week with a
Cardinals game. There's no way this is going to be under.
Two weeks in a row. Lions couldn't put up the numbers.
Commanders defense isn't good. Kyler will have a big day.
Jaane Daniels have big day. I'm taking Arizona, like Monzie,
I'm going over forty eight and a half.

Speaker 8 (01:16:47):
Do we going once going twice? Do we want to
go bold on this or are you going to make
that a bold one? Steve, I'm just going over. I'm
just just going over over on.

Speaker 2 (01:16:59):
This, all right? All right?

Speaker 8 (01:17:01):
So we're gonna go with our final game, and personally,
this one's my favorite, and mons is about to know
why because we have the Seahawks, my Seahawks ladies and gentlemen,
taking on the Detroit Lions in Detroit.

Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
Lions are three and a half favorites.

Speaker 8 (01:17:18):
Over under is forty six and a half and Steve
start us off hopefully in the right direction here.

Speaker 3 (01:17:26):
Well again, home teams on Monday night football are always
a good choice. I say that the last time I
did this, the home team had lost. I again, Gino
Smith hasn't played great the Seahawks have taken advantage of
teams they could beat and should beat and did beat.
They are not going to win on the road against

(01:17:46):
the Lions, So I will take the Lions at home
against the Seahawks. Sorry about that, Patrick, but I know
Moncey and you have some kind of deal that she said,
because it's your favorite team and she loves you that much,
she will take Seattle.

Speaker 5 (01:18:04):
He's trying to bait me into taking Seattle when you
don't need to bait me.

Speaker 4 (01:18:08):
Seattle leads the NFL in pass defense. They are fourth
and third down conversion rates.

Speaker 5 (01:18:14):
Mike McDonald is.

Speaker 4 (01:18:15):
Literally doing what he brought, what he was doing in Baltimore,
And for some reason, I am believing more of what
the Seahawks are doing than what the Lions are doing
right now at this point, I oh see, like my
head is saying Lions, but my heart is saying Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (01:18:36):
You gotta go with the gut.

Speaker 4 (01:18:38):
And I'm gonna go with the gut, and I'm gonna
say the Seahawks disappoint on Monday Night Football the Lions.

Speaker 2 (01:18:45):
Anyone interested on the over under forty six, I'm.

Speaker 5 (01:18:48):
Not touching that.

Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
Any bold predictions on this scale.

Speaker 5 (01:18:55):
No, I don't have one of those either. For this one, I'll.

Speaker 2 (01:18:58):
Have a bold prediction.

Speaker 5 (01:18:59):
Go for it.

Speaker 2 (01:19:00):
Gino Smith does not finish the game.

Speaker 8 (01:19:02):
Wow, you're talking Sam Howell coming in Steve Geno Smith
could be.

Speaker 3 (01:19:07):
An injury, but I hope not. I don't want anybody
to get hurt. But Geno Smith will not finish this game.

Speaker 8 (01:19:13):
Bold, I'll give it to you. I'll give that one
to you, all right, Yeah, no, okay.

Speaker 3 (01:19:18):
I feel really good about my picks this week, and
if I lose more ground to you, I don't know
what to say. Here's what I've said to listeners of
me over the many many years have been doing this.
When I make any kind of pick, if you were
just to pick the opposite way you would be you

(01:19:38):
would literally be sitting on a mount of money that
would blow your mind away. That's how insane it has
been over the years for me in picking games. Last
week was just a prime example, the one game I
got right instead of you picking the Lions against Arizona,
and then I took the over gave it back. So
seven and three verses four and six is what you're saying,

(01:19:59):
is our records right now?

Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
Patrick? Seven? To three versus four and six. Correct. Indeed,
all right, long season.

Speaker 5 (01:20:06):
There is a long season, yes, ahead of it.

Speaker 3 (01:20:08):
I pick up a game, you know, game week and
everything else is what we gotta do, all right. We're
getting ready, by the way, game just underway right now,
Alabama and Georgia. No score early on. For all the latest,
keep it here. This is Fox Sports Radio.
