Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio all living the.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Dream once again here on a fully loaded Sports Sunday.
This is Fox Sports Sunday and we are in the
Fox Sports Radio studios. And a very happy Father's Day
to all the dads out there, including you, VJ.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Happy Father's Day, Thank you man, thank you so much.
And Happy Father's Day to YouTube man. Happy Father's Day
to you. Happy Father's that you said. To all the
dads that are out there, man, listening right now and
listen and support us. You know, dads were just as important.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
Man.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
We've raised the mothers on Mother's Day when we were
here for Mother's Day. But dads, man, we're we're kind
of different, man, We're a little special.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Steve here, here's something I want to share with you.
It was a tough week at the Hartman House because
we had to put down one of our dogs, Duke,
and you know, he had a great life. He was
our first rescue dog. We had him for twelve years.
But my daughter was twelve years old when she and
her mother went down and found him in this kennel
and decided that's the guy I went And so she

(00:59):
was there with her mother to put him down and
it was hysterical, understandably, of course, and she came running
to daddy. This is my now twenty four year old daughter, right,
you know, And so I was very happy. I'm glad
I was there to be with her really for a
couple of really rough days. So it's a reminder again,
even as your kids get older, you're still daddy still.

(01:22):
And this morning, my kids made me a nice breakfast
this morning, and you know, wrote down and card, you know,
thanks for the effort.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
No, they wrote something a little.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Better than that, you know, so you know, but you
know that's all I want a nice card, you know,
don't spend any money on debt.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
That's the kind of thing. How about you? Well, I
mean what your father breakfast this morning?

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Like you said, man, some some a turkey bagas some
some biscuits, a protein shake, some I love. I'm a
big expresso guy. I'm not a big coffee guy. I
love express and I'm like a five shot guy, right.
I can't do God on my five shots, easy man.
Put my vanilla French cream and I need two of
thh and the uh the Splendi sugar. I try to
I try to stay aay from the process. White sugar,

(02:03):
splind the sugar in the man. So my wife now
did this morning. And just like you said, it's just
like I don't want nothing. What do you want to do?
I don't know. I got First of all, I gotta
go do radio. I gotta go do Harmon and Husky.
The US Open is on fire right now. That way,
we got NBA news, we got NFL news. There's trays there.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
You know what.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
I go see your dads, hate the kids, Go see
your father, so he sees his grandkids, and you see
your dad. And I'll see you guys this afternoon. Olive
Garden Red loves something simple. I don't say. I always say,
be the habit grill, Okay, burger fries.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
I'm good. Look the dad's understand.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
Right.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Do you feel like Father's Day was like that afterthought?
Like Mother's Day? Obviously it's a huge day, and it's like,
maybe we should sue something for Dad's we're you know,
that's sort of in between. Let's throw something out there.
Most dads are like, you know, just you know, we
get it, okay. So we're the providers and you know
we're there for support and everything else. And that's that's

(03:02):
so Anyway, a great Father's Day to all the dads
out there. And for most guys that are in interested
in sports deep like we are, our dads were usually
a big influence. And my dad wasn't like a huge
sports guy. He was a diehard USC football fan because
he went to USC. But in those.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Days back in your dad went to SC, my dad
went to US.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
You chose, and you chose Wes mooll Okay, you gotta
understand this very great story. So my dad, my mom
actually attended UCLA but did not graduate because she was
pregnant with me. She was only twenty one when I
was born, so she dropped out of UCLA too. Yeah, exactly.
But my dad was a diehard USC guy. He went

(03:44):
to USC at the same time Frank Gifford was at USC.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Wow. And so I was raised, you know, with USC.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
And I was nine years old when O j Rye
Gary Bieban won the heigh school for the UCLA.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
So I was full on USC, like full on.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
In fact, this time, a lot of in La you
were USC football and UCLA basketball, because obviously I wasn't.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
I was USC across the board, of course.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
But when I when I graduated high school, we didn't
have the money. My dad went to USC on the
GI bill. You know, there was no GI bill for
me to pay the USC, so UCLA was much less
and so I plied only applied to one school. UCLA
got in the much different admissions in those days. And
it was funny years later as I got into the
little notoriety and everything else. And you know, even now,

(04:29):
like on the news last time I'm talking about UCLA
baseball in the World Series, it's my bruins. It's written
into the copy my bruins. And some of my dad's
friends were like, what happened to you?

Speaker 1 (04:39):
What happened to you? How do you sleep at night?
What happened? That's I was going to ask die Hard
USC and look at him.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
So anyway, but yeah, again, Happy Father's Day to all
the dads out there. As we imagine, we got a
lot of things we're going to get into today. Remember
tomorrow's Game five of the NBA Finals, u Aley Cup Final,
A big win for Carolina, excuse me, the Panthers on
the road last night Florida, a huge win in Edmonton

(05:07):
to get back control and they're trying to win back
to back Cups. We got this NBA trade We're going
to get into a little bit later on. It makes
absolutely no sense, but we'll try to make sense of it,
right I mean, the trade's crazy, But I do want
to start with the US Open right now because as
we are about ten minutes away from the final pairing
of San Burns and Adam Scott teaming off. To me,

(05:30):
the story here, obviously all week has been Oakmont, which
is just devastated the golfers. I don't know if you
saw this yesterday, BJ after his third round, Rory McRoy
finally spoke to the media, Yes, and you know they
basically the last thing they asked him is so what
do you expect tomorrow? And he goes, I know what
I'm hoping for no longer than four and a half

(05:50):
hours and get my butt out of here as quick
as possible. He shot sixty seven today. That's a low
round of the day so far. So it's out there.
And if you're looking at a guy like Dottie Scheffler,
you say, oh, he's eight shots back.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Well.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
In nineteen ninety nine, a guy named Paul Lowry was
ten shots back going into the final round of the
Open Championship and won it.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
In a playoffs, so it's not unprecedented.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
But if you're looking at Scheffler, who's off and running
right now, he would have to shoot sixty five maybe
to get to one under and hope some guys fall back.
But really you're looking at the top four names here,
Sam Burns, Adam Scott, JJ Spaun, Victor Hovlin. One of
these guys most likely is going to be crowned US
Open champion.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Yeah, and I've watched every and I tweeted this. I
don't know if you saw it at about three thirty
four o'clock this morning. I'm the DVR Sports king. I
have a family, I have other things I'm doing, so
IDVR everything so I can watch when I have my
leisure time to watch, so I don't miss things and
I'm not missing life trying to catch up with sports
and do my job. I've watched every single minute of

(06:50):
the coverage of this entire tournament.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
I've not missed.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Ainturrico has been fabulous, Dottie Peve has been fabulous. Like this,
this this crew calling it and this has been just amazing.
And let's talk about like you said, Oakmont, I can't
remember tournament because I think about Tiger back to two
thousand and Pebble Beach, were he won by fifteen strokes,
by the way.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Everybody else was three over or more more, and he
was twelve underd you won by fifteen.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
He would and never be done again in the US Open.
That's never gonna happen in the US Open. But then
you start to think about the course, and this isn't
this tournament is. Now, that's what makes golf so cool.
It's not about the players. It's really about the course.
You don't say that about baseball. Well, the diamond was
playing this way to, or the NFL field was playing
this way to, or the basketball court was even in NASCAR.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
The track's the track, right, it's gonna be.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
What it's gonna be. You got about three or four
things that's gonna happen on this track, and that's it.
But when you talk about golfing, you talk about the
US Opening, you talk about Oakmont.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
This thing almost was like the analogy I came up with.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
It's like a relationship because frid because Thursday, yeah, guys
are six hundred. You got ten people under par on Friday, right,
and I'm sitting here, like god, I can hear Hartman's
voice in my ear told you, VJ told you, and
I said okay. And it's like a relationship. When you
first get in. The dates are cool. It's a lot
of laughs and smiles, a lot of hugs and kisses,
no problems, no argument. You think you found the right

(08:15):
one because the last person did this and this, and
you found the right one. And then the relationship gets
to month six month in year one, six months is
the key there.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
It is. I used to live by the three.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Months six months rule, and I did three months you
sure to come up like, hey are we and then
six months if it wasn't it exactly?

Speaker 3 (08:33):
But then you get you get some years in the
relationship and life starts to rear its ugly head because
it happens to everybody. And the people who stay mentally in,
who stay mentally locked in, and who stay composed, can
fight those things in a relationship. Oakmont reared her ugly
teeth at about three pm on Friday because Rory is

(08:58):
fell off completely, just lost it. And you watch these
guys like on hold one. Why is everybody trying to
play left right? It's ending up in the rough. Stop
trying to play lefter and I'm watching this tournament and
I'm like this course. And then they go out and
they move a hole back fifteen yards on the green,
so now it puts fifteen yards on So now you
can't pull out that ain't iron.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
You can't pull out that iron.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
If you look at Samas's spawn on the first hole,
he's in deep rough and all you can do really
is punch out and that's it. You're not really aiming
for any and he hits right into the rough again.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
He hits across to the rough. This is the hole
I'm talking about, you know why, because he just tried
to play.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Left to right.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
And you watch these golfers and there's also another hole
I can remember which one is where the flag looks
like the American flag is sticking up in the background
and it looks like it's in the middle of the fairway.
And I heard Tarrico goes What they don't realize is
that's to the left of the green.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
So you're going through these emotions.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
You're going through this stuffed shuffler's getting into it with
his caddy and his coach right there when they're talking.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
They're going back and forth, but.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Just by the way Adam Scott, who obviously he would
be the second oldest winner ever in the US Open
in just six weeks, younger than Hale Irwin when he
won his third and final US Open in nineteen ninety.
He said after this second round he had back to
back even part seventies. He goes, yeah, I'm playing old
man's par golf. But that's and that's why people are like, well,

(10:17):
what JJ spawn, you know, Burns, why are these guys
up there. They're playing the game that keeps them on
the PGA Tour. They're not the big bombers. They can
do those things. The only way these guys surviving the
PGA tours to play steady, hit it straight, you know,
get a few birdies and just you know, make the
cuts so you can keep your card. But on a
US Open course of this magnitude, that brand of golf

(10:41):
is what they've been always playing. But it works here
because you know, the Bryce and De Shambos always believe
I can hit it wherever I won, And even Bryson
said one time he goes, even as strong as I am,
I can't hit it out of this rough. I have
no control over the ball. Scotti Scheffler after the first
round said it best I thought. He says, there's no
strategy on this course. Basically, as I go to the

(11:04):
te box, I'm trying to figure out what club can
I hit to keep it on the fairway.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
That's what I'm trying to figure out. The aggressive are.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
Or I'm play conservative And just like you said, play
par golf. Jack Nicholson sat up with there with Tariko
and I rewind it that segment like three times because
I love listening to certain guys, because you feel like
you get smarter when you hear certain guys. It's just
some things about this. Think about it. One out of
the top ten golfers in the world made the cut.
One of the top ten golfers and made the cut.
Of those other nine golfers, they were a combined plus seventy.

(11:36):
I mean, you think about the par three, the par five,
there's only two one on the front nine, one on
the back nine.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
Thirty three double bolgies are worse.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Going into yesterday, this thing was I mean, this course
is just been but you know, the different annihilate and there's.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
No penalty for aaron T shots.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
You see normally they'll build the rough maybe around greens
and everything else, not on the fairway. You're not gonna
see fairway rough like you see on every single.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Home that he's standing.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
That's five inches and then the short rough I think
is an inch and a half.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
And so you think some of these big hitters like
a Rory or Bryce and they're the oh, that's not
going to bother me. Yeah, well they found out otherwise.
So we're going to keep you update again. The leader's
final pairing is teen off, so we will keep you
updated on this final round of the us O. But
all right, coming up on the other side, trade was
made today in the NBA that defies all logic. We're

(12:27):
going to try to figure this one out. This is
Fox Sports Sunday.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Harbin and Husky Here Fox Sports Sunday. A Happy Father's
Day out there. Once again, we're in the Fox Sports
Radio studios. You can stream the show, all of our
Fox Sports Radio shows live twenty four to seven and
the new one improved iHeartRadio app. Just search Fox Sports

of the news features in the app is that you

(12:56):
you know, like the presets on your radio dial. So
be sure to at Fox Sports Radio on the iHeartRadio
app and it will always pop up at the top
of your scream. All right, again, we'll keep our eye
on what's going on. Fine, a round of the US Open.
All the golfers are out running. By the way, Scheffler
is one over on the days. So Scottie scheffer will
not win this year's US Open. We can eliminate him.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
All right.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
So the NBA had big news today and it concerned
a trade, and let's let's try to break this one down.
Let's let's talk about the principal player in this trade,
and that is Desmond ban. The Grizzlies have traded Desmond
Bin to the Orlando Magic. So let's just before we
get into the details of the trade.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Desmond Ban.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
I've been a Desmond Bain fan, but Desmond Bain is
not a franchise player by any stretch of the imagination.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
He's a nice supporting piece, you know. He's a nice
guy as.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
A is a second third option, probably closer to a
third option guy.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Yeah, he's a he's a Mattherin type of player.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
He's a.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
He's an Aaron Gordon type of guy, you know, like
he's a number three. I wouldn't even put him as
a two.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
No, not a two he is, He's a three. They
got two of the guys that I could be the two.
He might be the fourthsome, Well.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
He could be.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
So he's that kind of player. He's a nice player.
He's got you know, he can score some points for you.
So the Memphis Grizzlies trade Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic.
Here's what the Magic gave up. First of all, they
gave up Kentavious Caldwell Pope, so casep still has.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
A little game in him.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Yeah, Cole Anthony, all right, these aren't big name players.
But how about this four unprotected first round picks and
a first pick swap. So they are sending Memphis the
sixteenth pick in the twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
Five draft coming up.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
It's twenty twenty sixth first round pick, and it's unprotected
first round picks in twenty eight and thirty, and there's
a pick swap in twenty nine. There's a reason why
the Orlando Magic had been by and large a miserable
franchise and a losing franchise forever by making trades that
don't make sense. And Jeff Weltman, who is the Magic

(15:21):
president president, basically felt that we have a chance to
win now, the Orlando Magic.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Then Carol.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Franz w Jalen Suggs, they feel like, Okay, we can
win now by adding this piece. So you're sacrificing the
future to win now. I mean, he's a great three
point shooter. Let me give you a stat. Bain is
one of three NBA players with eight hundred and may
to three pointers and a forty percent three point shooting

(15:56):
since entering the league in twenty twenty. And he's forty
three percent threes on catch and shoot threes over the
last five seasons. So the guy can knock it down.
But do you give up your future? That that's the
part that I have with it. I got I rolled
down double p all right. Picks and panic is the
two words that I'm gonna use here. The picks, I

(16:16):
just don't get. This is on the verge of Rudy
Gobert type.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Right. You know, Minnesota gave up four first round picks.
If I'm not.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
Mistaken for Rudy, go beer and people just like are
you are you kidding me? A two hundred million dollar,
eleven ten rebound guy a night can't even get you
double digit points on any given consistent night. You're giving
up that type and what has that done for them? Like, honestly,
what has that done for them? It's made him look
like a food trying to guard Luka Donciz in the
playoffs and getting crossed uping and tripping and falling all

(16:44):
over himself. Had one good close out game against the
Lakers and that's it. But when you look at what
Orlando's doing, I don't mind getting Desmond Baying the talent
to go along with the names we've already named, But
I don't think that at all automatically jumps shoot to
the front of the Eastern Conference and makes you contenders.
I will say this, I am growing a big fan

(17:06):
hood infatuation for Ben Carro. That kid is legit, and
he missed a lot of games this year and when
he was out, they just they just fell down.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
I don't like giving up Cole Anthony.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
Though I might have done this deal minus maybe one
or two of those pick and minus Cole Anthony, I'm
not giving you four unprotected first rounds and giving you
my lottery pick from just three four years ago at
the guard position for God, like you said, can shoot
the three, can hit the three. But is he going
to mesh with Sugs? Is he going to mesh with

(17:39):
Ben Caro? Is he going to mesh with Franz? That's
the question that I'm having the talent and the reason
I'm like okay. But the other P word. This is
the NBA nowadays. And we talked about this about a
month and a half ago. Teams panic because the window
is shorter than it used to being. We talked about
this right like, look at the Celtics. Celtics got to

(18:00):
the finals, then when it got to Eastern Conference finals,
got elimited, then finally got that finals, and it just
wears on you, Jason Tatum ount Now next year, now
they're thinking about Kevin Durant trying to make all these
days the panic button. I think Orlando pushed it a
little too fast, and I think Memphis did too.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
All right, but desperate times call for desperate measures. And
when I say desperate times, Orlanto had the worst three
point shooting percentage in the entire league this year, and
not only that, it was the lowest for any team
since the Lakers back in twenty sixteen. That's how bad
their three point shooting was. And you're getting obviously one
of the best three point shooters.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
And that's their thinking right now.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Main's only twenty six average, nineteen six and five. He's
got pretty decent numbers.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
Nineteen's gonna come back. But I mean, if it doesn't work,
I mean, you just gutted your future.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Right the nineteen. But here's the thing about the picks. Okay,
so let me say it's about the picks right now
we go. Man, you mortgaged the future. But someone else
is gonna come along with another deal. Ben Carroll is
gonna be a guy I look at, in about a
year and a half to two years, they don't get
to an Eastern Conference finals, that guy's gonna be. That
guy's gonna be clamoring to get out of there. Orlando's

(19:11):
just one of those teams I've just never seen you win.
And you had Penny, you had Shaq, you had Dwight Howard,
like you've had some Hall of Fame type players, not
tight players, excuse me, Hall of Fame players that just
did not cash in championships for you. So you've gotten
talent to get there, but sooner or later those guys

(19:32):
want to leave when you don't win. So there'll be
someone that'll come along that'll give some of those picks back.
For Franz Orvan Carroll, Franz Wagner. His name has been
in trades for the last two years, his names, his
name has come up and just maybe they haven't liked
the deals. So today it looks like you mortgage the future.
But once again, we're in such a panic mode NBA

(19:55):
that teams decide to try to make these crazy moves.
It's been another name out there. He is now officially
given his team list, the three teams he wants to
go to. I like two of them. One I would
stay away from. But if you look at these teams, Okay,
what are you gonna give up for Kevin Durant? Are
you gonna push the panic button? Because I don't think
Kevin Durant can go to any team. I have a

(20:17):
hard time trying to find a team you could put
Kevin Durant on right now and say they're NBA championship team,
even the Golden State Warriors, because you don't have Clay anymore.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
All right, let me look in at the East right now,
So Orlanta ended up the seventh seed, all right, they
were in the play in yep, they're in the play.
So the six teams ahead of them, tell me with
the addition here, okay, they're gonna leap frog over the Pistons, No,
the Bucks, No, the Pacers, the Knicks, the Celtics and

(20:47):
the Cavaliers Calves no Celtics.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
Jury still out because we don't know what type of
desperation panic move they're gonna make. Because there's no Jason
Tatum next year, and you're gonna have to decide to
do something with holiday, You're gonna have to decide to do
something with ports Ingas and some of these.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Other conference that's still a year away. No, but but
you don't wait till you don't wait till I understand that.
But you know what I mean, the roster minus state
and again we don't know. I mean, I I can't say.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
That the Nicobaka's I mean, who knows man who's their coach?

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Gonna be right, we'll get into that debaca. The Pacers
know they're not gonna leave fault. You stopped on the box.
That's because we don't know what's gonna happen exactly what
I mean again, I again, that's what the magic.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
You're thinking that we're gonna play for now and what
other Eastern Conference team makes a move?

Speaker 3 (21:32):
Though Shams and Windhorse all week long have been saying, guys,
free agency is gonna start sooner this year, it's not.
We're not waiting till July. Teams are gonna start Draft night.
Like they both have put that out there, Like, trust me,
we're both got our ears to the ground, we both
got our all right, we're both burning the candle at
both ends our families. No, don't look first for the
next three to four weeks because free agency is starting now.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
They're not.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
Teams aren't waiting till July. They're gonna start making trades.
People think about it. Who's coming out of college. I
got the least three team is gonna trade out of
the lottery if you could get a player and get
some picks and get some future stuff and get get
off some bad contracts. I think two or three teams,
Steve honestly, are going to trade out of the lottery
because what's coming out of college.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
What's been coming out of college in recent years. I
mean outside of a women not out of college. I
mean we've you know, the.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Rest of these kids are out of the G League nite.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
I mean with all the French guys, none of them
had a huge right impact on the league. I mean,
these are just bodies are throwing in the league right now.
All right, So strange deal. We'll see. I'll play, So
I will give Orlando the benefit of the doubt. But
what is clear is they think desn't Bean is going
to be a difference maker for them now, and they're
willing enough to give up future stock to win now.

(22:41):
And by the way, I'm a big fan of winning now.
I'm always been a big fan of winning now. Of course,
if you feel like you have a legitimate chance to
win right now, I have no problem ploying a deal
that could get you over the top.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
But I mean, again, we're talking about a team that
was five hundred this year.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Three other teams too. What's gonna happen with the Sixers?
What are the Hawks going to do with trade? And
are the heat that he gonna get Yann?

Speaker 1 (23:03):
Are he gonna get Yannis or Kevin Durant? Correct?

Speaker 3 (23:06):
So I mean I'm not mad at them for doing
the move. I'm mad at the four first round picks,
but I'm not mad at saying, hey, we need a
three points you.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
I just don't think one guy is going to pull
you from.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
The problem for them is everyone's going to be suspicion
about giving up picks after what the Clippers did with
Paul George and put okayc on the map, which, by
the way, we're going to get to in a moment here,
but first let's find out what is trending right now.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
What are you doing for your Father's Day today?

Speaker 5 (23:37):
Well, happy Father's Day to both of you, and my daddy,
my though, and my brother.

Speaker 6 (23:42):
Happy Father's Day.

Speaker 5 (23:44):
So we actually took him out on Friday night, and
we hung out with him a little bit yesterday since
I'm here at work and my brother also came by yesterday,
and so I said to my dad.

Speaker 6 (23:52):
I was like, Dad, no one's gonna come see you tomorrow.
I'm sorry.

Speaker 7 (23:55):
And He's like, sorry, I get to watch soccer without anyone.

Speaker 6 (23:58):
Bay, I'm good. And I was like, okay, Bob, enjoy
your Sunday. But we did take him out and all
the good stuff. We just didn't do it today.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Let me ask you this.

Speaker 5 (24:08):
You enjoy tequila, yes, and my dad enjoys tequila.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
I was going to say, so that was past absolutely father.

Speaker 6 (24:13):
Yeah, but my dad drinks. My dad doesn't say no
to a drink, which is probably where I get it from.
So like whiskey, tequila like beer.

Speaker 5 (24:20):
You know, he's like, okay, But tequila definitely is a
favorite in the house, right.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
So mansy, it's a favorite in my house too. And
I am, I am, I am becoming a bougie.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
Tequila got I'm becoming a bougie. It's no alcohol. There
is a big difference. No, no, no, no, no, no no
no no.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
I'm on through the and I interject just for a second,
I want to hear the rest of this conversation. But
a lot of people, you know, you're in college and
you're drinking bad tequila, yes, and then it suddenly turns
you off to a quila right right to me, it's
one of the few spirits that there's a huge difference, yes,

(25:00):
bad and good.

Speaker 6 (25:02):
Absolutely absolutely.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
When picket tequila, someone once told me, purchase from eye
level up, someone once told me. And now when I
go in, I look, I go wow, because if you
look down no.

Speaker 6 (25:13):
Yeah, but then.

Speaker 5 (25:14):
You look up and I'm getting crap like.

Speaker 6 (25:16):
Cussam Eagles, not as crap you don't like. It doesn't
taste like tequila.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
What is it tequila?

Speaker 7 (25:21):
I mean it depends what am I how much money
am I having? Because I love nineteen forty two, Don Julio,
of course I do nineteen forty two.

Speaker 6 (25:27):
Then two is delicious.

Speaker 7 (25:29):
But the blanco I love I castam Egos does not
taste like tequila, and that's why people drink it, because tequila.

Speaker 6 (25:35):
Is very hard to drink.

Speaker 7 (25:36):
It is a acquiring taste and people are like Causo Egos.

Speaker 6 (25:39):
Yeah, because it tastes not like tequila, which is why
you like it. You like Costa Eagles.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
It's part because it's popular right now, it's all over TV.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
They sponsored it.

Speaker 6 (25:48):
It's not Yeah, it's not good. It doesn't taste like tequila.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Ohe was the same way. If you remember when Throwa
first came out, Shrone.

Speaker 6 (25:54):
At least tastes like tequila. It's not good, but it
tastes like tequila.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Popler, that's why people drink it. I'm with you with
Don Julie.

Speaker 5 (25:59):
I will take Patron over casam Egos any day, any
without no questions because Cossomigos does not taste like that price.

Speaker 6 (26:07):
It's not like fifty and it's not even good. It's
not even good.

Speaker 5 (26:13):
Talking about this later you guys are talking about. Sorry,
before I move on from the Orlando Magic trade with
Desmond Bain mckel bridges trade that sent him to the Knicks,
the Nets got four unpre five unprotected four first round
picks and an unprotected pick swap. So like people just
throwing picks players is like happening more and more.

Speaker 6 (26:33):
And Rudy Gobert is another great example.

Speaker 7 (26:34):
But like mickel Bridges, I think is an equivalent to
like what a Desmond Baine can do for your team,
And it came with so many picks, So I don't know,
I think this is just fine.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
Something. So here's what's happening with a lot of these teams.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
They feel like, Okay, if it doesn't work, we have
pieces that we can move to recover those people totally.

Speaker 6 (26:53):
And Orlando has that. And I know they lost in five, but.

Speaker 7 (26:58):
Those games, the Celtics had to play Tatum well deep into.

Speaker 6 (27:03):
The fourth quarter. They had to play their starters because
Orlando did not ease up. Orlando, is there Orlando is.

Speaker 7 (27:09):
A couple of moves away from actually being a ten
and dead last in several categories. And like that game.

Speaker 6 (27:18):
I know they lost in five, but if you watch
the Celtics had to play their starters deep into the
fourth quarter.

Speaker 7 (27:24):
It was not as easy as the final score may indicate.

Speaker 6 (27:28):
And So I think I like Orlando. I think Paolo
Bancaro is my man.

Speaker 7 (27:33):
He is like a Lebron James, Like this really big
dude that moves really fast, that style of play, you
know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
Compare him to Carmelo Anthony. When I watch him play,
I see a lot of Carmelo. He bullies like Carmelo
he does.

Speaker 7 (27:47):
I just don't think of Carmelo as a big, big dude.

Speaker 6 (27:49):
Paolo looks like a big dude, you know what I'm saying. So,
but I agree with you. Yeah he's a big dude.
Yeah yeah, all right, let me.

Speaker 7 (27:57):
Give you some baseball scores here before we too distracted.

Speaker 6 (28:01):
Sorry.

Speaker 7 (28:01):
The Reds are taking the lead from the Tigers six
to four top of the eighth inning in Detroit, while
the Angels have tied the game against the Orioles to
two bottom of the fourth.

Speaker 5 (28:08):
Inning about to start in Baltimore, Rockies edging the Braves
one zero top of the fifth, Marlins on top of
the Nationals two to one.

Speaker 6 (28:16):
Bottom of the third. The Nationals have lost seven in
a row.

Speaker 7 (28:18):
The Red Sox beating the Yankees at home one zero,
bottom of the third. The Phillies have added another run.
They're shutting out the Blue Jays two zero, bottom of
the fourth.

Speaker 6 (28:26):
All raised so far.

Speaker 7 (28:28):
Against the Mets, it's four zero bottom of the third inning,
and the Pirates have scored first.

Speaker 5 (28:32):
Against the Cubs. It's two zero bottom of the first inning.
In Chicago and at the US.

Speaker 7 (28:37):
Open, Sam Burns, who was at the top of the leaderboard,
officially underway for this final round.

Speaker 6 (28:42):
He is even so he is still at four.

Speaker 7 (28:43):
Hunder par, while Adam Scott is won over through the
first hole and.

Speaker 6 (28:47):
So now he is two shots back. All right, thanks
you guys, it's.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
All right, yes, And for all the fathers out there
and enjoyed taquila.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
Enjoy all right once again more in the.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Fox Sports radio studio, just updating what's happening here on
the leaderboard. So Adam Scott bogie the first hole. JJ
Spond bogie the first two holes. Victor Hoblin has a
bogie through two h and Sam Burns is even, so
if Sam Burns can.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Just hang in there.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
And by the way, Scotty Scheffler got a birdie back,
so he's even par in the day through six, He's
now tied for tenth at plus four. So they feel
like we got long day ahead of us with this VJA.
This any hole here can be a potential disaster for
one of the leaders. And then just everybody jumps right
back in. I told my wife last night that you

(29:34):
were gonna pull hard. She goes, the guy's talking golf
the morow.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
I said, of course, I said, I said, Harman and
I going, We're going at this the Scottie Scheffler thing
week after week after week.

Speaker 1 (29:42):
I said, I don't care where he ends up. I said,
I guarantee you on air tomorrow he's gonna say this
guy's got a shot. So ad got it.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
You gotta match minds with Harvey. Harvey's got a lot
of information in that brain. So I found something that's
really interesting.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Right, let me hear this.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
Over the last fifty US opens fifty okay, last fifty.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
Forty four of the winners went into the set winn
a Saturday within four shots. So anybody outside of that
I eliminated already anybody outside of four shots in the
league because going into Saturday, the league was three under.
So if you or anybody that was plus two or more,
you're not winning.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
This all right, So I understand, especially because it's very
difficult to make up ground, certainly on a coach like.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
Rhy right, and you got to have people come back
to you. Correct.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
But so Scheffler is six holes in, right, he's got
twelve holes to play. Yes, he would have to play
in my opinion, in those twelve holes at five hundred part. Yes,
he'd have to finish a minus one. Yeah, minus one
right now could be.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
A playoff for you. Now, where he can do it
is between ten and thirteen. That's where guys have missed
a hole. Yeah it's a birdie hole, but people are
they're blowing seventeen. I know a birdie hold was owing seventeen,
that's the problem. But ten to thirteen that's where he's
got his shot. So I'm gonna wait, but no more

(31:06):
than in the world here. Look, he's got the game. Okay,
we both know that he's got the game to do it.
But this, this number just tells me going into the
last thirty six plus four more out you don't you
don't win it. Forty four you don't win it. Only
six people I've been able to do it. It's just
gonna be tough. But I can see, look at a
field already coming back. Look at the field already dropping all.

(31:28):
That's called pressure. That's called pressure. We're just getting press
back nine.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
All right, we've got to start getting into the NBA Finals.
And I look at I was the one that trumpeted
the idea from the get go that this was a
non contest NBA Finals, And I was waivering, Am I
gonna pick O KC in four straight?

Speaker 1 (31:49):
All right? Sebby, y'all, I'll give Indiana what Okay, Indiana
win a game. I'll give them one. You know, they're
showing a lot of heart, and I'll give them a win.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
So the next thing, you know, they win the first game,
and they win the third game easily, and they are
leading in game four. And I've been saying this about Okay,
says I'm watching this game four VJ. A couple of
things were coming to my mind. What was the fact
that I realized you know, even though I've been trumpeting
this team, sixty eight wins the vastly superior Western Conference,

(32:19):
you know, margin and victory like twelve thirteen points over
the course of the season. They got to be great.
I realize I haven't seen this team much because they've
ever show them. It's always the Lakers, so we don't
really I was like, how many OKAC games that I
actually see this year?

Speaker 1 (32:34):
Four or five? Maybe?

Speaker 8 (32:36):
Man.

Speaker 2 (32:36):
So I'm watching this team and I'm thinking, how did
this team win so many games? I mean, you got
your big three, you got Cruse off the bench, no
one else.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
Sees they're balling. Who's balling? Right?

Speaker 2 (32:49):
So well, Crusoe is balling, But i mean, what else
do they really have right now? And then I'm looking
at Diagnal right there they're coach, and I'm thinking, what
does this guy do? I mean, he is getting schooled
in this series by Carla. I'm fully expecting that we
be sitting here with the Pacers up three to one.
And then Shay Gildess Alexander, you know, my favorite staff

(33:11):
for him. In this last game, you know, he scored
fifteen points the last five minutes. Forget that stay you
know what I love zero assist, give me zero, just
give me the ball. I am going to save our
season on the road. And for the first time I
really looked at him and said, Okay, that is a

(33:32):
legitimate MVP.

Speaker 1 (33:33):
All right.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
So we're gonna start breaking it down here. We're getting
ready for the big game tomorrow. Much more coming up
on Fox Sports Sunday.

Speaker 8 (33:40):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 1 (33:53):
Harvin Husky Fox Sports Sunday. Here in the Fox.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Sports Radio Studios, JJ spawn Bogee Bogie bogie.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
To open up his final round. He's back to even pars.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
That means the only two golfers under par, Sam Burns
Adam Scott at three and two hundred both or one over.

Speaker 1 (34:11):
On the day. And you just feel like it is
I mean, they're clutching right now. We're two holes.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
In and everyone's like, ah, all right, let's see.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
You gotta love this long day out there, all right.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
So we're talking about the NBA Finals now, and so
you you know, so I was talking about Shake Gildess,
Alexander and he really stepped up in the end fifteen
points in the last five minutes and zero assists, where
he just said, give me the ball, I'm going to
take over.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
And you were shaking your.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Head a little bit as we go to break and
you you apparently have a different theory how it is
that the series is suddenly two to two? Is Indiana
suddenly only what they scored seventeen points in that fourth
quarter at home? As everything they were doing right suddenly
was wrong down the stretch. What is your theory on
how we are heading into Game five and a two

(34:59):
to two NBA Finals series.

Speaker 3 (35:01):
This is why people question the NBA and this is
what's really upset. This was such a great finals until
about the eight minute mark, nine minute mark in the
fourth quarter and a gentleman by the name of Scott
Faster Scotty, Oh Scotty, my man, me extender, this serious
extender because the Pacers. Let's get real, guys, the Pacers

(35:24):
have outplayed OKC for three of these games. They've outplayed them. Yeah,
they've outplayed them for three of these games. I told you, guys,
Pacers in seven because I thought that's the only shot
they would have. Because they have three perimeter defenders that
can make it hard.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
And where SGA down and.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
You started to see sgab war down. He started to
be worn down, and then he's allowed to start pushing off,
throwing his off arm a lot.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
What I say about.

Speaker 3 (35:53):
Jalen Bruntings why I'm not as high on Jalen Brunting
as everybody else is, because the dude pushes off almost
every time he penetrates. Now, the foul merchant stuff with Hga,
I'll stay away from because I mean, that's just the league.
Guy's going to get to the line and get some
free points and manipulate the game. That's been Jordan. Jordan
would get fouls that Kobe would get fouls. You know,
the guys the Stars get fouls. That's fine, But when

(36:17):
calls are happening are not happening, that are blatant and
right in front of a referee and you don't make
the call that I have a problem with the flagrant
foul on Caruso, like, come on, man, stop this stuff.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
NBA.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
You know why, And this is where you get the
NBA must want this team to win, or the NBA
want must want this, And I like to try to
stay away from that stuff, because I want to believe
the last pure thing we have on earth is love, family,
and sports. Those are the last three real pure things.
You can't even get water for free, no more, you
gotta buy water. They'll tell her you not to drink

(36:54):
the tap water. I've been drinking tat water, Steve, and
I grew up drinking out the holes in the front yard.
And if you're doing now that, you can die. You
can die if you drink from the holes in the
front yard, not grags from the hose all the time,
all day long, minutes cold, it's from the earth.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
It's water.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
I mean, you know what I'm saying. In the air
you breath nowadays. But this idea that OKAC was allowed
to just foul and push off and get away with
these calls because this thing was about to go three
to one, and that's not.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
What I guess. I guess that's just not what we want.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
All right, Think about this for a second, because in
the end, you always are you know, before this series,
I was breaking down the current state of the OKC
thunder Right, not only a sixty eight win team that
you know, had this great point differential over the course
of the season, but it's built for the future. That
have five first round picks over the next two years.

Speaker 6 (37:43):
So tight.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
So even if you even if you have to figure
out how we're going to sign Homeguner Williams, how are
we going to do all this kind of stuff, You're
gonna stockpile talent. They're in a position where they could
be a dominant team for the balance of this decade.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
The Indiana Pacers.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
And I agree with the they have totally outplayed okay See.
They've out coached him, They've outplayed him, they've out hustled them.
They have played at a much higher level in this series.
And okay See, okase, I mean that Game three where
okay See kept throwing the ball in bounds and the
ball was stolen.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
They were just.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
Lazy ass basketball. I'm like, what am I watching here?
This team is so pearly coach. They showed no heart,
but they got a reprieve. And yes, Scott Foster is
a miracle worker. The one obvious play, not only did
shay Gill just push off, he traveled on the play.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
I mean they showed his feet.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
He's taken three steps to get himself set after he
pushes off, and they're Scott Foster looking right.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
At him, and he's standing looking right at him, feet
from him. And the way we've seen these playoffs called
is another problem I have if you're gonna call it
tight to bring the people in, right, we were talking
about how great this playoffs have been. They're letting these
guys play. Oh, but then don't get into the finals.
And when the thing's not going the way you want

(39:04):
it to go, now you want to start calling.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
These pity pack calls.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
You're not calling people throwing elbows and pushing off, like
just keep it consistent.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
And this thing was.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
Heading three to one, and everybody knew this was coming
three to one. And once it gets three to one,
you can almost cancel Christmas, put the cookies in Milky Way,
put the presidents away, put the.

Speaker 1 (39:25):
Children to bed. Santa Class ain't coming. Cancel it. It's over.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
And I just now, you gotta go back to game five.
You gotta go back to OKC. I think Indiana is
gonna be in that game and have a shot to
win that thing tomorrow night.

Speaker 1 (39:36):
I don't think so. I do. I think OKAYED twenty tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (39:42):
No.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
I think Indiana fights in this thing, because once again
they are better coach. They are not gets there down
three to one, it's two to two. And they've already
mentioned the coach Carlisle from the beginning of the final.

Speaker 2 (39:55):
But this guy, if you're okac, you got to ask yourself,
this G league coach did in here the job when
they couldn't come to turns of Billy Donovan? Is he
the right guy if we want to be the dynasty
we think he can be for the balance of the decade.
Or we got that NFL training camps. We got it
all covered. This is Fox Sports Sunday, all.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
Right, rolling along here on this.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Big Sports Sunday, Father's Day, Happy Father's Day, and all
the dads out there once again. We're in the Fox
Sports Radio studios, and I'll tell you who's not enjoying
their day are the golfers right now at Oakmont.

Speaker 1 (40:28):
The leaders are struggling.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
Adam Scott another bogee, so jj spawned three bogeyes to
start his round, Hovelin two bogeys in the first three holes.
Adam Scott two bogeys in the first three holes. Sam
Burns looking pretty good right now. He's one over on
the day and he has a two shot lead. Spawns
at even part. But I'm watching the fourth hole. I

(40:50):
don't even want to watch right now. VJ Spawn is
about to have like it's bad to start epic.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
But this is going to be unbelievable what happens to
him today?

Speaker 3 (41:04):
And this is the type of round that can set
your career back.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
We've seen this. This is the type of round we mentioned.

Speaker 3 (41:12):
We talked about Ricky Fowler, right, who went into the
last day last year US.

Speaker 1 (41:17):
Open with the lead. He didn't even qualify this year. Yeah. Now,
I'm not saying his career is over, but have you
heard his name this year?

Speaker 7 (41:24):
No?

Speaker 1 (41:24):
Has he needed? Okay, just gone, by the way, Sam,
I'm just saying a tough game. It's a mental game, man.
And I remember I used to talk about that and
people used to I used to remember people used to
talk trash about this. Oh he's over playing, is it? No, dude?

Speaker 3 (41:39):
I have a hard time playing bout ball west Lake
over here, just five minutes from the studio. I'm out
there scratching my head some days.

Speaker 1 (41:46):
Guys. By the way, it's true.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
We mentioned Rory McRoy shot a sixty seven today. John
Ram just shot a sixty seven. Guy, So he ended
up at plus four. By the way, rom is now
tied for thirteenth. He started the day tied for thirty fifth,
so rom is in. He finished with a sixty seven today.
Actually it's in the top ten now top ten. Scottie
Scheffler's in the top ten plus four. But these these

(42:11):
leaders are really feeling the heat right now. So we'll
continue update you.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
Arms just started off the bad Friday wasn't good. Thursday
wasn't good as Friday. Way he got he made the
cut as the cup was plus seven, so I made
the cut. But it just he didn't start off good.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
No, so he finished strong. Those sixty seven today for
John Ram too late took Yeah, paycheck reasons, Yeah right,
I'll take those paychecks.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
Oh well, well, you know you want to be a
board to check? Yeah, to check gets bigger.

Speaker 2 (42:34):
I mean, when you're talking about a major golf championship
with that kind of money, one spot is tens of thousands.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
Right, No, you keep playing trust me because it's not
Oh well, let me just fold up.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
No no, no, no, no, no no no.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
If you keep moving up the board, the check gets big.
Everybody gets the check. Everyone gets a check, all right.
So we've been covering NBA Finals a lot. More on that,
by the way. Uh, the per fet picks are coming
up later on in this hour.

Speaker 1 (42:59):
It's are over under segment. Christopher Fett is the one
that puts it all to.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
You said, he's got the spreadsheet together with the score.
We're gonna keep scoring us all summer long. It's been fun, man,
He's coming up with great stuff. I'm excited for. We
talked about tequila earlier. How do you guys feel about
jello shots? Well, I have a I have a quick
jello shot story.

Speaker 1 (43:20):
I just wanted. I wasn't. I'm not. I will say
this about jellow shots. I have two answers.

Speaker 3 (43:28):
I have the cool guy answer, which is, you know, men,
no duel shots. But I've been at some cookouts and
barbecues Homeboy, where one of the ladies there made yellow
shots and kept starting them.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
Out great cherry lime. Yeah, And I never said no.

Speaker 3 (43:42):
I kept taking jello shots on everybody the cookout, and
I never.

Speaker 4 (43:45):
Mainly this smart weekend to educate people on jello shots.
Omaha and the College World Series of Baseball, So we'll
talk about that later.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
My U c l A.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
Bruins, Big win over Murray State yesterday. Yeah, really beating
down the Cinderella really glowed about. But that's okay, you
know what, It's not like you said, it was ranked
number one in the country, that ranked fifteenth.

Speaker 3 (44:04):
I questioned your I question your loyalty now, man to
what because knowing that your dad was a trojan.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
Well he was.

Speaker 2 (44:09):
And as a kid, you know, my greatest sports hero
was the great Anthony Davis. Not the basketball anthey, it's
the football Anthony Davis.

Speaker 1 (44:17):
The Notre Dame killer.

Speaker 2 (44:19):
It was my little my greatest and even I have
dear friends over the years.

Speaker 1 (44:22):
And uh yeah, no.

Speaker 3 (44:24):
I think came from a UCLA family. I had no
idea that was information for me today that your dad.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
Yeah USCT you waited. In fact, at the end, my
dad uh still USC he did. And you know, my dad.

Speaker 2 (44:37):
Almost made it to ninety, had a long life of
good life. And but his he really got turned off
by professional sports with all the money and everything.

Speaker 1 (44:46):
That just he was a you know guy, he's a
depression guy and that kind of thing.

Speaker 2 (44:50):
And but his his undieing loyalty was the USC football.
When Pete Carroll revived USC, I mean USC dominate again,
I remember I was down in my when they ended.

Speaker 1 (45:01):
Up blowing out Oklahoma in the BCS Championship game, and
I want to talk to Pete Carroll and.

Speaker 2 (45:06):
I said, Pete, I I want to thank you for
my father, like you've given my dad something to get
excited about again.

Speaker 1 (45:14):
With USC football.

Speaker 2 (45:16):
So yeah, that no, I'm a bruin to the core,
all right, Speaking of football, there's been a there's been
a lot of stories out of these, you know, that's
sort of weird time In training camps, the dynamic VJs
has changed so dramatically over the years. Like training camp,
you know, training camp leading into the preseason used to

(45:36):
start first week of July, first week of July, now
the end.

Speaker 1 (45:42):
Of July barely. I think the first thing is report
like the nineteenth eighteen something like that.

Speaker 2 (45:47):
But even now, these these mini camps and you know,
OTAs everything that they're going through right now, there's not
much going on. I mean, there's nothing really being decided
right now. And then you know, then there's that danger
time when you everyone's off for like a month side
unseen before you know, and then they get back into

(46:09):
camp and you know, the quarterback situations, I mean, for instance,
the Indianapolis Colts.

Speaker 1 (46:15):
I know we talk a lot about the Browns Daniel Jones.

Speaker 2 (46:22):
Their idea, the word out of Indianapolis is they.

Speaker 1 (46:26):
Don't want him to be the quarterback.

Speaker 2 (46:29):
But Richardson, it's just such a wild card now. And
the thing that was saving Richardson was Jim Ursay. Remember
Ersay was the guy that was the big champion that
this is the kid. Even if we had the number
one he was the fourth pick in the draft. But
even if we had the number one pick, we would
have taken him. Well, Ersay passes away. There's really no
protection from him right now. But those those are some

(46:50):
of the stories when you have teams that are still
trying to decide on the quarterback position. The Browns obviously,
but the Colts to me are another team because that's
not a terrible team and they're in a week vision
where you know, we don't know what Jacksonville is gonna
do you know that division is all over the place,
right Houston and Houston really the team we saw a
couple of years ago.

Speaker 1 (47:09):
They took a step backwards last year.

Speaker 3 (47:11):
So yeah, they just added a running back though they
did they just added a running back though, So I'm
not glad you brought this up because I've heard a
lot this week. I've reached out. This is the time
of year. Like you said, it's it's not a flux
for me. I get excited about mandatory ot is because
there are things being decided right now.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
Trust me. They may not tell you, but there are.

Speaker 3 (47:32):
There's a lot being decided and coaching minds and coach
meetings and stuff.

Speaker 1 (47:37):
Players know it too. That's why you got certain guys
out here.

Speaker 3 (47:40):
They're going, They're going, you know what, to the wall
right every rep there because they know things are being
decided right now now. Maybe not the depth chart is
put together in June, going into a lot, fine, but
trust me, there are decisions that are being thought about,
it made right now. What if I told you that
we both know and I said this from the beginning,
the Browns they're not keeping all four.

Speaker 1 (48:02):
We know that now.

Speaker 3 (48:03):
Okay, someone's gonna be the odd man out. Okay, and
I'm you know me, I'm team Shador. There's gonna be
the starting quarterback. I've said that since day one. I'm
gonna stick on that, from wrong or wrong, find but
I don't think I'm gonna be what if I told
you that Dylan Gabriel could end up being the odd
guy out and being traded to a team.

Speaker 1 (48:23):
Well, he's tradable.

Speaker 2 (48:24):
Kenny Pickett's not trade exactly, and neither is Joe Flack.

Speaker 1 (48:27):
Oh, of course, what.

Speaker 3 (48:29):
If I told you that Indianapolis could be in play
to start over with a rookie that Obviously there's people
that like him, right, there's people that like Dylan, Get
Dylan great Gabriel. People bring up what he did in Oregon,
bring up how faright to gorgon things that that nature?

Speaker 1 (48:43):
It would be smart for them or it would be.

Speaker 3 (48:46):
Hoolf of them to at least kick the can on
it and see what's up what's going on in Cleveland?
Because if you missed on Anthony Richardson, fine, But how
often do you get to replace a miss on a
drafted quarterback with another young guy that a lot of
people believe in? How often do you get that? The

(49:06):
closest idea I could think of is the Falcons make
a big mistake by giving the guaranteed money to Kirk Cousins.
We all know that I was on the edge. I
was on my soapbox standing I love the pick of
Michael Pennich, You no VJ. You had a quarter like No, guys,
it's okay in life to realize you make a mistake.
My mom I used to always tell me there's two
things about mistakes in life.

Speaker 1 (49:27):
The great Lieutenant Colonel from the Pentagon.

Speaker 3 (49:29):
My mom Glendora's spearman used to always tell me Vernon,
you can learn from your.

Speaker 1 (49:34):
Mistakes, but you don't double down on them.

Speaker 3 (49:37):
If you could correct them as fast as you can,
you do so. So maybe even the Falcon said, you
know what, we mess this up. We gotta correct this
right now. If you're the coach, Okay, we mess this up.
If we have an opportunity to correct it right now,
let's correct it right now and just say, hey, we
blew that. Fine, we made the mistake. But I just

(50:00):
think that that's something that I'm just throwing that in
the air. If someone's going to be the odd man
out in Cleveland, it's not going to be Mitchell Trubisky,
it's not going to be Joe Flacco. Shed Or Sanders
is going to be the starter, and Dylan Gabriel could
be the odd man out and a team looking to
reset as fast as you can with a young quarterback
in Annapolis.

Speaker 1 (50:19):
Coach just putting it out there. So I'm looking at
ESPN dot com.

Speaker 2 (50:24):
I like to sample all the different sites, even the
four letter and they have the current depth charts for
each of the NFL teams, which I like to look at,
reminding myself because sometimes you know, somebody slips through the cracks.
You're like, oh, I forgot, I forgot, I forgot about
that guy HP. So today list right now is the
starter in Cleveland as Deshaun Watson, but with the Q
next in In other words, question right, he's out of there,

(50:47):
sack and they got Canny Pickett, third, they got Joe Flacco,
fort Dylan Gabriel.

Speaker 1 (50:51):
They don't even list Shot or Sam. That's fine. That's
all mental games, man, that's all mental.

Speaker 3 (50:55):
They only go four D. That's that's all mental games.
I've dug into this and I've done it. I haven't
said anything on air, I haven't tweet anything. I've dug
into this. I'm even whatever, what are you seeing in
a OTA? I mean, this is controlled scrimmages. That's not
a game situation. You really gonna throw Shador Sanders out
there on day one?

Speaker 1 (51:15):
What I'm seeing is listening.

Speaker 3 (51:17):
I'm the type of guy I'm going to listen to
the people that are around the player we are discussing,
because that's never gonna stare you wrong, Ladies and gentlemen,
boys and girls, listen to the people that are around
the player, the coaches, the player and all I'm here.
You got players now starting to question why isn't he

(51:38):
taking reps with the one You think players just all
came together and say, hey, let's go out to the
press and the media today and let's just put this
stuff out about No, they don't do that. They're sitting
there and saying, but I feel with Cleveland's doing make
the kid earn it. It's okay, you said yourself, this
is the first time in his career that he's probably

(51:58):
got to go earn it, right because his dad coached him,
and his dad probably made him earn it. But let's
get real, your dad's gonna give you a little more.

Speaker 1 (52:06):
Come on, right, he was, He's gonna he was mentoring him.

Speaker 2 (52:10):
Yeah, yeah, it wasn't a competition. He's gonna be there
every step of the way. Why he went to Jackson stay,
why he took him to Colorado.

Speaker 3 (52:17):
But what is all that I was supposed to do
is what the father's supposed to do. So I'm not
gonna knock that. But what he was doing on that
time was he was preparing him for what he knew
was coming for his son. And all I'm hearing from
report not just players, guys, reporters and people that are
at the practices and at the OTAs they're going to
Cleveland radio. You can look at these clips online. You

(52:39):
guys know me, Ir door got I've dug into this
because I want to see.

Speaker 1 (52:42):
What's being said.

Speaker 3 (52:42):
I want to And now it's starting to boil up,
and people started to say, hold on, maybe we were
wrong about this kid, because all we're hearing is how
professional he is. He's got zip on the ball, he's
fitting balls in tight windows, he's coachable, he's the first
one out there. He's staying thirty forty five minutes late
every after getting an extra. He's doing every then you
want a young guy to do, not saying the wrong stuff,

(53:03):
saying the wrong thing and just putting himself out there.

Speaker 1 (53:05):
And then the other night I'm.

Speaker 3 (53:06):
Laying on so I said, you know what, this kid's
gonna be a star because at the end of the day.

Speaker 1 (53:10):
He know he may not be Dion, but mentally he
is prepared for the NFL. Look, he's an impressive young guy.

Speaker 2 (53:16):
But again, and to be successful as a quarterback, everything's
got to be working for him. That got to be
the right system. You got to be the right coach,
gotta be the right vibe. You've got to be a leader.
You got to earn the respect of your teammates.

Speaker 1 (53:28):
I think he's done. I got to look in your
face and say, this guy can lead me.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
As I said before, the definition of a leader is
someone that inspires others to follow. Right, and if you
don't inspire people to follow you, you can't be a leader.

Speaker 3 (53:41):
But that's what I'm hearing from players. We're talking vetterans,
we're talking o Cho Seko said he taught to Deese Award.
O Cho Seko has come out and say, hey, look man,
I talked to Denzel Ward and he said, oh you
know what, I'm my bad.

Speaker 1 (53:52):
Shouldn't have said his name, But that means he.

Speaker 3 (53:54):
Talked to a veteran All Pro corner on that team
that told him, hey man, this kid's different.

Speaker 1 (54:00):
This kid's when we break. He's a movement.

Speaker 3 (54:02):
The crowd rushes to him, Crowdey rushing to Dylan Gabriel.

Speaker 1 (54:05):
And I know that doesn't make you a start. I
know that doesn't make you do I get.

Speaker 3 (54:08):
All that, But that aura, like you said, of being
a leader and being a guy that even some vetza
kind of looking at us saying, all right, I ain't
gonna pat him on the back just yet.

Speaker 1 (54:15):
That's why I like that, that's your point.

Speaker 3 (54:17):
I like the fact that he's not up there because
you don't think he don't know that.

Speaker 1 (54:20):
Corney of them, he's a fifth string quarterback and you.

Speaker 3 (54:22):
Don't think he don't know that. Come on, man, that's
mental games, and.

Speaker 1 (54:25):
I love it. That's how you prepare kids. All right.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
I'm watching the carnage right now at the US Open,
and it is carnage.

Speaker 1 (54:31):
Adam Scott's in deep trouble right now.

Speaker 2 (54:34):
When they start marking balls like okay, this is unplayable,
you know he's in trouble.

Speaker 1 (54:39):
All right.

Speaker 2 (54:39):
Coming up, we are going to move into one of
our newest segments on this show. It has to do
with over unders, and it's known as the perfat Picks.
Right here on Fox Sports Sunday, Steve Harvin and BJ
Husky here Fox Sports Sunday. Once again, we're in the
Fox Sports Radio studios.

Speaker 1 (54:58):
Well by popular man.

Speaker 2 (55:01):
This has become one of the hodest tickets at all
of sports talk radios.

Speaker 1 (55:07):
So let's get it started here. We are decise profitable
over under a half a flagrant. These are your perfect picks.

Speaker 4 (55:19):
So I did the homework this week. Let's get you
first up on what happened last week and talk about
everything that is now in the spreadsheet. We have Leon
dry Sidel goals one and a half. That was a
point of VJ. He went under on that Halliburton big shots.
Steve took the under. I don't think there's been a
single dang Haliburton big shot in any of these in

(55:43):
any of these games.

Speaker 1 (55:44):
So you guys have tried still waiting for because you
said over the next three games with that. I believe
last week it was big.

Speaker 4 (55:50):
So if it's over a span like that, I'm usually
saying that until like our shit all right?

Speaker 1 (55:55):
Cool, So like, well we'll just set it there.

Speaker 4 (55:57):
Trust me. That's that's the subject of a bet. Later
on we'll talk about it a little bit because I'm
having a real struggle.

Speaker 2 (56:02):
But bye, by the way, for Scheffler. When we're having
disputes about this is where Shay has to come in.
So Shay has a yes.

Speaker 1 (56:13):
Yeah he is. He's got to make decisions here.

Speaker 4 (56:16):
The problem is to find some Shay's headphones, so he
doesn't even know.

Speaker 1 (56:20):
What we're talking. I understand that, so I know he
can't hear us. But anyway, he's just shaken his take it.

Speaker 4 (56:27):
We'll get him on if we need to adjudicate thing.
We're still waiting for Scheffler's strokes, which nig can write
this one up. I was going to say, I'm pretty
sure we talked about it, Steve. He would need to
shoot sixty four today for you to hit it right.

Speaker 2 (56:38):
He would need to finish again at two under, is
what I predicted, and he would have to be six
under over the last nine holes, and that's not.

Speaker 1 (56:46):
Gonna So that's right, that's not happening.

Speaker 4 (56:47):
So that is a two to one win to VJ
from last week, which now puts the running tunnels at
Steve six VJ five who and I was looking like
I could run away.

Speaker 1 (56:59):
With it early on.

Speaker 4 (57:01):
For the reminder, we now have four bets that we
now have to keep track of, not counting the Scotti
Scheffler one. As we start, as we look at Bill
Bell check in NFL futures and we'll get to one
of the NFL futures in a.

Speaker 1 (57:12):
Secondwy the NFL future. Have we done?

Speaker 7 (57:14):
Two?

Speaker 1 (57:15):
Three? Three?

Speaker 4 (57:15):
Cowboys called Steelers? And why don't we just start off
with our fourth one. They've been in the news because
apparently they can't get a deal done with Trey Hendrickson
and at the same time they've somehow done the impossible
and screwed up a rookie contract in the NFL. Your
Cincinnati Bengals are looking at a future without apparently being
not playing defense or something. I'm not sure how they

(57:36):
screwed up the Shamar Stewart situation caused and walk out
of mini camp. Their win total right now for the
twenty twenty five season is nine and a half. Let's
turn it over to you, guys, over or under nine
and a half wins for the Cincinnati Bengals. All right,
well me today, since you are still trailing overall six
to five.

Speaker 1 (57:55):
I'll give you their choice. You have a choice right now.
Do you want to go or do you want to
go second? On this pick? Do you want to go first?
Or second. I'll go first.

Speaker 3 (58:04):
Hockeon all right, nine and a half, nine and a
half o man, tough division. That's a good number, by
the way, I know, is a great number at that might.
That's super accurate. At Minnesota, at Denver, at green Bay,
the road games are tough. At Pittsburgh Course at Baltimore,
Oh man, you know what you can't if you can't score,

(58:26):
I mean, if you can't stop people from scoring, you
just can't win football games. And they lost a lot
of thirty four, forty one and thirty eight to forty.

Speaker 4 (58:34):
Nine to run with you for just gone and they
figure out the Stewart things.

Speaker 2 (58:37):
Whither the weather here in Oakland, Oh yeah, worse, they're
not gonna finish this round.

Speaker 3 (58:42):
I think they If they can finish it, everybody's gonna
fall down the evening, which help me out with that,
you know what, I'm gonna go under and this starts,
and this starts rumors and next offseason of okay, we're
gonna have to move some of these big contracts we
just signed e Higgins or Jamar Chase to try to

(59:03):
recover what we need on defense, because I got to think, honestly,
Chris Trey could be out of there, man, because you
don't want to give me my money. And I'm dominating
every year. I'm here every Sunday, I'm not hurt, and
I'm dominating. Like I'm dominating, I'm probably the best ding
in the league. Other the mouth Garrett atj Watt.

Speaker 4 (59:22):
The Bengals going to the world, to the Super Bowl,
I think really made people forget for half a second
how cheap this organization. Absolutely, absolutely excellent, absolutely, I know
they paid out for these two wide receivers.

Speaker 1 (59:33):
That is Mike Brown to the core. I mean, he
just never contracts. It was it was our rookie contracts
that got there with Yeah, usually what happens to it.

Speaker 2 (59:41):
The reason that the Bengals every once in a while
pop up and you know, get to a Super Bowl
or something like that, is never by design. It's always
by accident, right, And was you sort of accidentally luck
into Joe Burrows the number one overall pick? And that's
pretty much been the history of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 1 (59:59):
Gim me the under But.

Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
That being set, so if you really look at the
Bengals in twenty twenty four, so you talk about that
defense which was almost historically bad early on in the season.
But early in the year they lost their first three
games they were remember they were one and four to
start the season and then rattled off five straight wins

(01:00:23):
to win it at the end, five in a row.
That's how they finished their season. So I'm going to
say they carry over the momentum. Is think Joe Burrow
is just so much at next level and he was
my pick by the way to be the MVP last year,
and he would have been had he not been on
a team that was nine and eight. You know, you're

(01:00:44):
not going to win MVP on a nine in a year,
but he had the best numbers I think of any quarterback.

Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
In the league. He will continue he's healthy.

Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
As long as Joe Burrow is healthy, that team will
win it at least ten games.

Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
I'm going over all right, just really quickly, just thinking.

Speaker 3 (01:00:57):
Back on the back of the day at Cleveland, Jackson,
at Minnesota, at Denver, your lines at Green Bay, that's
that's that's tough sledding coming out of the gate with
no d again.

Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
They started year, they finished nine and eight. They can
win one more game.

Speaker 4 (01:01:12):
I want to get to this one just in case
weather happens to be a factor here and I hate
to jump this to the front and this is gonna
be the tail end one. This is my father's day
prop special. I wanted to get out here. My father
is a USGA official. I was around with him all
four days when I was out here at the LA
Country Club. He is currently officiating Oakmont right now. And

(01:01:34):
I had a conversation with him where I was like,
I'm gonna watch TV make sure if I see where
you're on, and he's like, I better not be on
TV because if they show a rules official on TV,
it means I've screwed up. So over under times my
dad will appear on TV at a half and I'm
specifically to NBC, not any of the streets that.

Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
I don't know if people play this game for a living, right? Really?

Speaker 9 (01:02:03):
Bro?

Speaker 2 (01:02:03):
I mean you lip me now and you lose my
a shot or two, So how you go back? Oh my,
I just how do people do it? Your father getting
a screen appearance? Yes, well, this.

Speaker 1 (01:02:14):
Means we have to monitor this. I'm monitoring it. By
the way, there are multiple broadcasts. I said that.

Speaker 4 (01:02:20):
I just said, while you were watching that butt and
not listening to me, is this is specifically to NBC.

Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
Okay, so then, okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna go first
on this, So I'm gonna go under I don't think
that there's any chance he's going to be seen.

Speaker 3 (01:02:36):
For his sake rules official, Yeah, for your dad's sake
and for him to have a nice, clean Father's day.

Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
It would be cool for you to see your dad
on birthday on Thursday. Right, Yeah, we're going. We're going
with the under Man.

Speaker 9 (01:02:48):
We're not.

Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
We don't want the pops to get in no trouble
ba Yeah, all right.

Speaker 2 (01:02:50):
Well hold it right there. We got much more to
get to with our per bet hey ex. But first
let's find out what is trending right now and see kind.

Speaker 6 (01:03:01):
Of a busy day for not having NHL or NBA.

Speaker 7 (01:03:05):
There's like a lot going on, a lot of stuff
Like I like, I have a bunch of bunch of
tabs on my screen.

Speaker 5 (01:03:11):
So let me give you a run down. We'll start
at the US Open, why not final rounds. Sam Burns
in the lead at three under par overall. He has
won over through four holes for today.

Speaker 7 (01:03:23):
Adam Scott is one shot back, also won over through
four holes for the day. Victor Hovelin now coming in
at number three. He is even so he's three shots
back right now. In baseball, one game has wrapped up.
The reds outscored the Tigers eight to four. Elie de
la Cruz at a homer, he had three rbi. He
scored three runs. But Cincinnati had to score six runs

(01:03:43):
in the final two innings to get this win. The
Orioles are on top of the Angels right now. It's
five to two top of the seventh inning in Baltimore,
so the Angels have the bases loaded, but they are
down to their final out. The Rockies have extended their
lead over the Braves five to one top of the
seventh inning. Marlin still edging the Nationals two to one.
Top of the seventh. The Marlins have the bases loaded,
they still got two outs to go.

Speaker 5 (01:04:04):
The Nationals have also lost seven in a row. The
Red Sox have added another run.

Speaker 7 (01:04:08):
They are shutting out the Yankees two zero top of
the seventh inning. Blue Jay's on the scoreboard, but it
doesn't matter. The Phillies are up. Alec Bohm with the
two run shots so at six to two bottom of
the sixth inning. All Rays so far against the Mets
six zero top of the sixth inning, Twins edging the
Astros one zero bottom of the six, Royals blanking the
A's two zero bottom of the fifth. Brewers with the

(01:04:30):
two to one lead over the Cardinals bottom of the six.
And it's a tie game in Chicago between the Pirates
and the Cubs. They are tied at to a piece
bottom of the fifth. Rangers are up on the White
Sox one zero, bottom of the third. A trade in
the NBA, as Desmond Bain is on the move, Grizzly
is trading him to the Magic for Contavious Caldwell, Pope
Cole Anthony, four unprotected first round picks and one first

(01:04:51):
round pick swap. In the WNBA, the Sky defeated the
Sun earlier today, seventy eight to sixty six, Angel Reese
with a triple double, eleven points, thirteen rebounds and eleven
a SI. Right now in the WNBA, the Dreamer crushing
the Mystics seventy one seventy three to forty four with
about eight minutes to go in the game.

Speaker 6 (01:05:08):
And in soccer news, the FIFA Cup the FIFA Club
World Cup.

Speaker 5 (01:05:12):
PSG just scored parisint Germaine against Atletico Madrid one zero,
twenty eight minutes into the first half of that one.

Speaker 1 (01:05:20):
Back to you guys, I was actually watching some of that.
You know, I'm outside. I'm not a big soccer guy.

Speaker 2 (01:05:26):
I'm really not a soccer guy, and that's well documented here.
But I added to a lot of soccer highlights on
TV last night.

Speaker 6 (01:05:33):
Uh huh, yeah, yeah, you know it's the time.

Speaker 3 (01:05:36):
It is that time. Yeah, I al I became a
hockey fan. I got into radio. I'm about fifteen years ago.
I got into radio first, and I was in New
York City on the Scott for Rail show. Yeh over
on Serious Sidelight Radio, and they're big hockey guy, so
if you got to be on their show. Him and
Lupelo Grino Mike Hill used to be hearing Fox Off
for Sports radios over at Ffics one. He hooked me
up with them. That's how I started learning hockey. And
he told me, he goes, you want to learn hockey,

(01:05:57):
he goes, watch hockey Olympics. He goes, Then you can
learn what countries they're from, so you can learn their
style of play because the Russians are big and physical.
In the Swedes and filling the canon there fast. They've
gone the small but they're fast, they're more precise. And
that's how I started learning hockey. It was like, Wow,
this sport's pretty dope. I love this sport. So watch soccer, baby,

(01:06:18):
I try, I really do.

Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
By the way, all hell's breaking loose at the US
and we're going to get back to our per fet picks.
So Sam Burn's just bogie five, so he and Scott
are now tied it two under. JJ spawned six holes,
five bogies and the only the only par was the
par five, which is like a bogie. But he's still
only four shots back.

Speaker 1 (01:06:39):
So we're hanging on right now.

Speaker 2 (01:06:42):
As John Rahm, with his sixty seven today is now
tied for seventh.

Speaker 1 (01:06:47):
He's a. He's A.

Speaker 2 (01:06:48):
He's safely in the clubhouse. And by the way, the
weather looks bad. They're just a black mass heading right
at Oakmont right now.

Speaker 1 (01:06:57):
All right, So Chris, where do we leave off?

Speaker 4 (01:07:00):
So we just finished talking about that, and you know what,
let's talk since we were talking soccer, let's keep it
fresh here. Team USA has not won a single match
since Mauricio Pochettino took over The club. Score held scoreless
against Switzerland, got a goal in the first minute, and
then lost to Turkey to one. Plus the two losses

(01:07:22):
earlier in the Nation's League last year, the Gold Cup
begins tonight, Hanka Calf. Team USA will be without Christian Pulisish,
which sparked a massive amount of uproar from Team USA
veterans like Clinton Dempsey and Landon Donovan, which started a
catfight with Pulisics's father.

Speaker 1 (01:07:42):
YadA YadA, YadA, YadA YadA. This team looks weak and
pathetic and I hate it.

Speaker 4 (01:07:47):
However, they are going up tonight against Trinidad Tobago, then
Saudi Arabia and then I want to say, Haiti is
the last one. So with that group, their final score
in Group over under three and a half points over.
Remember three points for a win, one for a draw

(01:08:08):
home for under under.

Speaker 2 (01:08:10):
Any time you mentioned US men's soccer, I'm going under
on and you under under under under under.

Speaker 1 (01:08:16):
I'm righting with the boys on this one. Mad Over.
It's tough to watch this.

Speaker 4 (01:08:19):
I've heard some people say, oh, it doesn't matter because
in the World Cup's next year and they pre qualify.
I'm like, yeah, but they look like crap. Like they
really get their game together.

Speaker 1 (01:08:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
I get I've been I've been hyped up on US
men's soccer for fifty years.

Speaker 1 (01:08:33):
Fifty years. Chris. I'm still holding out hope, man, because
it's just where we are together too. I just really
hope they can put because it's no waiting. We have talent,
we have the money, we have the resources.

Speaker 4 (01:08:44):
Yeah, I don't have the fight, and that's what drives
me insane. Dempsey Donovan, Tim Howard. That was a generation
of I exactly have that talent.

Speaker 1 (01:08:54):
Those guys.

Speaker 2 (01:08:55):
So I was actually asking this question yesterday of a
couple of my producers, because they're huge soccer guys, young guys,
huge soccer guys.

Speaker 1 (01:09:04):
I said, if.

Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
You were to pick the top two hundred soccer players
in the world currently, how many of those guys would
currently be on MLS rosters. They said three maybe, maybe,
maybe maybe.

Speaker 1 (01:09:23):
Yeah, I mean you got me the obviously it's not great. Well, No,
the MLS is a Ponzi scheme. Cool, we know that
it is. I mean that's why they keep expanding to
bring new money into the league expansion fee. Wait, is it?

Speaker 2 (01:09:40):
What does it tell you that MLS every time there's
an expansion team.

Speaker 1 (01:09:43):
Immediately they're one of the best teams in the league.

Speaker 2 (01:09:45):
Like San Diego, San Diego this year, right new team
in San Diego.

Speaker 1 (01:09:48):
It's like they're a juggernaut. We we gotta move this
on quick. Okay. College World Series is going on right now.

Speaker 4 (01:09:55):
One of my favorite traditions there is that Rocos the
five dollars Jello Shot Challenge. Infinitously a couple of years
ago when LSU won the World Series, their fans racked
up sixty eight thousand jello shots. Right now, the scoreboard
as of seven am Central time at Rocos has LSU
with an let me make sure this is updated, because

(01:10:17):
this thing goes by pretty quick. Yeah, da da, They're
already a ten thousand, eight hundred. However, a lot of
the others. The next leader, I believe is like Murray State,
who has eliminated five thousand, seven hundred Arkansas just about
five thousand. So this is for the winner of the
College World Series, the team who wins, not the one
who has the most jello shots over under seven thousand

(01:10:40):
jello shots. Reminders, some of these teams are gonna peter
off where they've already left, like if Arkansas, like the
best team out there is probably like what Coastal Carolina
and they barely have any jello shots, So it could
go either way. LSU's you know, or first.

Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
Of all, I think he just said it unless LSU.

Speaker 1 (01:10:58):
Wins, that is to say that, and let's ellis by
the way, LSU's next game is yess my Bruins.

Speaker 3 (01:11:05):
Okay, So no, you're from Arkansas, you're more worried about
pounding down barbecue and jello shots. I've been to LSU
games before. They're all about they're all about the liquid intake. Brother,
trust me, they won't be both going under.

Speaker 1 (01:11:17):
They won't eat all that because LSU is not winning
the World Series this year under all right?

Speaker 8 (01:11:22):
And then.

Speaker 4 (01:11:24):
I've been trying to figure out the date for this
one so we can have some talk about this a
little bit days until the Knicks actually settle and get
their next head coach.

Speaker 1 (01:11:35):
I my policy is.

Speaker 4 (01:11:37):
Always before next show should be the cutoff. However, I
think the real cutoff for the Knicks is will they
have a.

Speaker 1 (01:11:46):
Coach before the the uh the NBA drafted Draft.

Speaker 4 (01:11:49):
So I think what I will do is I will
set this at over and under over under seven and
a half days.

Speaker 1 (01:11:55):
The half is just there, so you can't put it
right in the middle.

Speaker 4 (01:11:58):
It doesn't mean a seven days twelve hours. It's either
seven day, it's either this time by midnight, or.

Speaker 2 (01:12:04):
Well seven a half days means seven days from now
next Sunday, so it would be we're not talking about
the Knicks.

Speaker 1 (01:12:11):
New head coach next Sunday.

Speaker 2 (01:12:12):
It's an over yes, okay, all right, unless it happens
on Sunday.

Speaker 4 (01:12:17):
Unless it happens on Sunday, and then we'll have to
figure out. That's again, we don't do pushes on these.
I'll figure it out.

Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
I was about to say, then that's a push one.

Speaker 2 (01:12:24):
I mean, I mean we're we're going to get into
this next thing, I think on the other side.

Speaker 3 (01:12:28):
But wow, that's that's a good one. That might have
been one of the best ones you've made, man, because
it's because, dude, it's a cluster, you know what, Like
look at it? Yeah, yeah, like they're striking like people
who doesn't want the next job. Well, a lot of
people don't want this job, oh man, And the Knicks.

Speaker 4 (01:12:48):
Are doing themselves no favors by doing like only going
after guys who currently have positions right now.

Speaker 1 (01:12:54):
Okay, by the way, on the other side, I'm going
to tell you the.

Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
Obvious choice, not even that, but I would say I
would go over on this one. I don't think they're
gonna have a coach in place by some next Sunday.

Speaker 3 (01:13:12):
If the name is Steve wants to say on the
other side to break it the name, I think then
it's gonna be under because if they call that guy
this week, I think he'll say yeah, this week, right
because he doesn't have the guy Steve thinking about it,
doesn't have a job right now.

Speaker 1 (01:13:26):
He's not coaching. He's got a job, but he's not coaching.

Speaker 3 (01:13:30):
So if that and I think that guy would be
desperate enough to say yeah. So if they call that guy,
I'll go I'll just say, you'll just say under off
end And that's the profets.

Speaker 2 (01:13:40):
All right, outstanding as always Chris on the other side,
who will that next Nicks head coach?

Speaker 1 (01:13:47):
Who is it gonna be? We're gonna tell you.

Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
This is Fox Sports Sunday, Harvin Husky, Fox Sports Sunday
in the Fox Sports Radio studios. Hey be sure to
check out Fox Sports Radio's YouTube channel. Ton of great
videos from any of our Fox Sports Radio shows. Just
search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube and see a whole
bunch of video highlights from our shows, and be sure
to subscribe so you always have instant access to our

(01:14:10):
Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube. All Right, the rain
is beginning to fall at Oakmond and the weather report
is not good. I don't know if they're gonna shut
this down suspend play, but it looks like it's going
to be close because the rain is coming down, and
right now Sam Burns with a one shot lead over
Adam Scott. All Right, so we're talking about in our

(01:14:32):
perfet picks the over under on the Knicks hiring a
new coach. So the the guy that I have in mind,
there's a lot of factors in being the next head
coach of the Knicks. First of all, obviously it's got
to be a coach that has a resume.

Speaker 1 (01:14:46):
You got to have.

Speaker 2 (01:14:46):
You're not going to replace TIBs unless you get bring
in somebody that has a resume in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (01:14:51):
You know, it's got to start with a young guy.
You know, start with a young, upstart, wonder kid guy.
You want to vet guy.

Speaker 1 (01:14:57):
You need a guy. You also need a guy they
can handle coaching. The new York Knicks. In other words,
this is not the Indiana Pacers.

Speaker 2 (01:15:05):
This is not the Orlando match Yes, Charlotte, Yeah, this
is New York City. And they were a team that
just got to the Eastern Conference Finals. So you get
rid of TIBs because you feel like he can't take
you any furthers. So the guy you hire has to
be someone that can take you to the next level. Okay,
and I have a guy in mine that checks every

(01:15:26):
single box all right, including the fact that he's loved
by New York Knick fans. Why because he's the last
guy to lead the Knicks to the NBA Finals. Jeff
Van Gundy is the next head coach of the New
York Knicks. I mean, you can't say, well, he was
out of coaching for a long time. Well, he was
with the Clippers this year. He's been in coaching the

(01:15:48):
last couple of years. Obviously, you can't say he was
out of basketball because he was the lead announcer, the
lead analyst for the NBA for years. And he is
a Knicks favorite, and he led the Knicks to the
the NBA Finals in nineteen ninety nine.

Speaker 1 (01:16:02):
He knows what the job.

Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
Takes to me the perfect Forget all these coaches that
have NBA championships on the resume.

Speaker 1 (01:16:09):
You know what I want to see on the resume.

Speaker 2 (01:16:11):
He coached the Knicks and he had success as the
Knicks coach. If I were the Knicks, Jeff Van Gundy.

Speaker 1 (01:16:19):
Is my next coach. Okay, I was off. Now I
know you weren't thinking.

Speaker 3 (01:16:22):
I know well because you've because man, you hit me
with the switcher room.

Speaker 1 (01:16:27):
You hit me with the switcher rooms. But I'm saying,
Jeff fren Gunny, and I'm looking at.

Speaker 3 (01:16:30):
You like, wait a second, I'm not mad at it.
I'm not mad at it. My only question would be
with Jeff Van Gundy.

Speaker 1 (01:16:40):
Is age and age?

Speaker 2 (01:16:42):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (01:16:42):
Hold up, yes, yes, yes, let me explain does he
want to do it? That's my thing with Jeff Van
Gundy right now at sixty five, I believe with sixty
four sixty five years old. He's born in nineteen sixty two,
so yeah, he's sixty sixty three, sixty three sixty three
years old.

Speaker 2 (01:16:59):
Here here's my hear. Let me just interject this. The
only question is understand where TIBs came from.

Speaker 1 (01:17:05):
He came from man, Gunny. He was on his staff
on the next dip.

Speaker 2 (01:17:08):
In other words, if I were Van Gunny and the
Knicks offered me, I would If I were Van Gunny,
I would call him tips and say, do you have
a problem with this? I don't want to step over
your dead body because we're friends and we go all
the way back. That to me would be the only
hold I'm sure to say, take the job. There's only
so many jobs out there. But no, I I don't
think ages In Gunny act like a old guy.

Speaker 3 (01:17:33):
No, no, he doesn't act like an old guy. But
I question, do you want to go back into the
daily grind of being a I'm serious?

Speaker 1 (01:17:42):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:17:43):
So, for instance, one thing I love doing is I
love looking at NBA benches and seeing what former players
I grew up watching that are now coaching. Like I'll
be like, wow, hold up, is that Karam Butler's dog?

Speaker 1 (01:17:55):
Is that mo cheeks on their bitch? Our? Is that
Travis best One?

Speaker 3 (01:17:59):
I love doing that because you can see how some
people they just.

Speaker 1 (01:18:03):
Love ball man, they just love the game and they're
gonna be in it. For the rest addicted to basketball
than Jeffer, I mean, very very few.

Speaker 3 (01:18:12):
But it is also things that I've been able to
talk to some assistant coaches. I've some guys that I like,
guys that coach my nephew Kendall in the league. I've
been able to like pull aside in back tunnels of
Crypto and I'm there covering the Lakers or over into
a covering the Clippers. And I've had assistant coaches telling me.
I've asked them, hey, man, you're ever going for a

(01:18:33):
head job again? More times than not they kind of
give me that look like, nah, I'm good man.

Speaker 1 (01:18:39):
It's the assistant role.

Speaker 3 (01:18:42):
The assistant role fits me, and no one ever says
fire me.

Speaker 1 (01:18:47):
I never have to talk to the press.

Speaker 3 (01:18:50):
I never have to answer to the criticism from the
morning sit down to base show. There are some people
that have done it and they get to a point
in their life where they say, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:19:00):
What, I'm okay.

Speaker 3 (01:19:02):
We saw this with Jim Kelly, right, Jim Kelly literally
left a head coaching position at your fame alma mater,
thank God, to be an offensive coordinator four team that
had a coach that was on the hot seat because
he just doesn't so.

Speaker 1 (01:19:18):
The name I had was Mike Malone. That's where I
thought you were going. I know you thought it was
going to be Malone him, he'll take the job this week.
But why haven't they see that's the question.

Speaker 2 (01:19:29):
I mean, if you're not smart, you have Budenholzer, you
have Vogel, you got you got Mike World Championship. That's
four right there, the one NBA champion, the Nicobaka Steve exactly.
By the way, when you talk about saying the assistant,
one of my all time favorite coaches is Alvin Gentry,
super coach my name. You know he's had many, you know,
stints as egg. Alvin will tell you the best shots.

(01:19:51):
Being an assistant, I don't have to put up with
the bs and being a head gup. I want to say,
to sit there every game and have to explain what
one right went went wrong. It's a very comfortable living
out there. But yeah, Jeff Van Gundy not happening. Come on,
I wouldn't see it, Jeff had Gunday. Don't take it
from her course, keep it up on Fox Sports Sunday. Oh,

(01:20:14):
having so much fun on this Fathersday?

Speaker 1 (01:20:17):
What's again? Fox Sports Sunday?

Speaker 2 (01:20:18):
Hartman and Husky with you here in the Fox Sports
Radio studios. Jess wish you could catch up on our
off air commentary. I think VJ is learning more about
me all the time.

Speaker 1 (01:20:31):
Hey, let me tell you something. Harmon and Husky.

Speaker 3 (01:20:33):
Y'all might not have to stand the new wave Harmon
Husky baby, this guy.

Speaker 1 (01:20:37):
Listen your story, Your story, guy.

Speaker 3 (01:20:40):
I've always told you that we Steve, we've probably been
doing shows for about honestly seven eight years.

Speaker 1 (01:20:44):
Oh yeah, off and on, like when I first got here.

Speaker 3 (01:20:46):
You were the first guy, when Scott, when when Shapiro
hit me up and say, Hey, we're gonna bring you in.
You're not gonna do a guest spot wor basically VJ.
We're gonna give you a shot, right, We're gonna give
you a shot to do a full show.

Speaker 1 (01:20:57):
It's not going we with the holl Couple's not gonna
be with Chris A.

Speaker 7 (01:20:59):
Robb.

Speaker 3 (01:21:00):
But I'm gonna put you a guy named Steve Hartman.
I said, oh, this sounds for me. I've heard it.
I'm seen around it Google. You looked up and I
remember the first show so we did together. So we've
done a bunch of shows together. The one thing I
am learning about you is you're funnier than.

Speaker 1 (01:21:12):
I thought you were.

Speaker 3 (01:21:13):
You're you you're funnier than And it's not your stories,
it's when you talk about life, because like myself, you
just talk man. And sometimes even people go, VJ, what'd
you just say? Why I'm just talking about life? You
people are so afraid to talk in the world nowadays.
You gotta watch everything you say. Now you look, man, listen,
I stay away from certain topics and I don't cuss,
and I keep it there. But any other topic and

(01:21:35):
were talking just real life stuff. So no, you know,
here's the thing, VJ. As you get off there, there's
no filter.

Speaker 2 (01:21:42):
You know, that's the whole point old people, right when
as you get older and you have far more days
in your past than you have four.

Speaker 1 (01:21:51):
Yes, at this point.

Speaker 2 (01:21:53):
You are who you are. You've you've already written your
life script. Okay, yep, And so you know it drives
my acts. Who I'm very close to, you know, And
I say, actually, it's hard for me to say that
because you know, we have three children together, we still
spend a lot of time we care for each other.

Speaker 1 (01:22:10):
But She's like, why do you have to tell everybody everything? Why?
Why what am I saying? What am I saying?

Speaker 2 (01:22:18):
I mean, I'm just you know, I'm giving you. I mean,
you want to know who I am, And here's who
I am. This is who I am.

Speaker 3 (01:22:23):
My wife says the same thing to me, even like
social media sometimes tell everybody every just postings that.

Speaker 1 (01:22:29):
It's like, why would you? It's like, because this is
how I this is who I am.

Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
I'm an open book. People like I don't have I
don't have anything to hide. So you see, you secret
of people. You got skeletons, and we all got skeletons,
but you got bone yards, you got cemetaries. Somebody you
got skeletons in the comment some of y'all got cemetaries
out there.

Speaker 1 (01:22:47):
You like me, man, I'm just an open book and
I just believe.

Speaker 3 (01:22:50):
And if I'm not saying anything offensive about a certain group,
and I'm not saying anything offensive or attacking than you,
then why do you have a problem with me just
talking well, I mean speaking of my mom.

Speaker 1 (01:23:00):
What do we all want? Ultimately? You want to be
able to be comfortable in your own skin? Right? I
like being me? I me too, I like being me.

Speaker 2 (01:23:09):
I every it's it's it's funny because you spend time alone,
right you say, do you and I go, here's the
great thing about being alone is that every thought that
I'm thinking is interesting to me. I don't have to
sort of like engage with other people where they're talking
about things that I'm not really interested in, but you know,
I'm engaged with them when I'm by myself.

Speaker 1 (01:23:29):
Everything I'm thinking is interesting to me. And if you
knew really went through my mind a lot, Yeah, exactly.
That's why if you knew what I'm thought sitting on
the sofa some night, I'm really comfort It is pouring
rain at Oakmont.

Speaker 2 (01:23:44):
They have completely shut down the US open right now,
so obviously play has been suspended there. They're showing some
of the greens right now. They're looking like lakes. It
is an absolute down board.

Speaker 1 (01:23:56):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:23:56):
The good news is, you know, they redid Oakmont just
a couple of years ago, so the mechanisms are in.
It looks bad, but they can they can suck up
that water very quickly once the rain's let up. Right now,
everybody's on the sidelines staying.

Speaker 1 (01:24:12):
Out of the rain.

Speaker 2 (01:24:12):
It is pouring, uh, and so play has been suspended.
As we mentioned, San Burns is that two under. Adam
Scott is at one under. Nobody else is at even
par good.

Speaker 1 (01:24:24):
Or bad for the players, right not to take because
this cient around eating everyone up right? Now, Well, I
mean here's the problem here, here's the problem.

Speaker 2 (01:24:33):
So they'll be able to obviously dry out the greens
because there's a mechanism under the greens, right. The one
thing that can't dry out it's the rough. So if
you thought the rough was tough already, suddenly you're you're
you're you're six inches in rough and now it's wet.

Speaker 1 (01:24:50):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (01:24:53):
So this course is only going to get more treacherous
after the rain.

Speaker 1 (01:24:59):
But you better hit.

Speaker 2 (01:25:00):
I mean, even if you're giving a fifty yards in distance,
you need to be able to hit the ball on
the fair away because anything in the rough in the
wet is going to be just lights out double bogie
action on.

Speaker 3 (01:25:11):
I think this is a good thing. I think for
at least those top three guys. I don't think anybody
has shit.

Speaker 2 (01:25:15):
But also the thing is, you say, all right, well
the greens will slow down, will But you're not used
to that.

Speaker 1 (01:25:20):
In other words, you've been playing the greens. What are
you playing?

Speaker 2 (01:25:23):
You're taking four days to figure out these greens, and
all of a sudden, now they're slow.

Speaker 3 (01:25:28):
Hey, you got to earn this US Open, baby, But
we don't just hand out the US Open. You got
to earn this US Open. That's why I think this
is a good thing. These guys. We're sitting here watching
it live, and I'm sure that you know, millions of
people around the world watching all our listeners or checking
us out and listening to us and watching it also
this right now, I think this is a real good thing, guys,
because these guys need they need a time out.

Speaker 1 (01:25:48):
You can't take time on golf.

Speaker 2 (01:25:50):
Well, the weather gods and the golf and sports gods
gave you a time out because Oakman is kicking there.

Speaker 1 (01:25:57):
You will.

Speaker 2 (01:25:58):
You can see it destroying these every single shot you're
agonizing over. Oh every shot. We just saw Scotty Scheffler
right this a one foot.

Speaker 3 (01:26:07):
Pot tapp in just miss it tapping for par, which
means it did turn into a bogie because he missed
the birdie put which was only about five or six
yards away. He missed the birdie putt, then missed the
coming back tapping for par. This is a good thing.
Take a break. If I'm these caddies or I'm these coaches,
are these wives. We just saw a guy walking with
his wife and holds she's holding it a little infan baby.

Speaker 1 (01:26:28):
That's a beautiful thing in his father's day. I get it.
I love it.

Speaker 3 (01:26:31):
If you're a wife, hey, grab him by the cheeks. Hey, honey,
calm down. Breathe, baby, look at me, look at me. Breathe, Relax,
Let's get this. We're right in you. If you're one
of these coaches, hey, man, take your head out of
you nowhere. Breathe, relax, lock in, let's focus what's not
working with how you feel it. Eat a power bar,
drink a protein something. I think this could be a
good thing. Guys, I really do right now, slow down,

(01:26:53):
get your mind together because this course, I think the
weather god said, hold on, man, let me help you
all out, because this course is like, ha, I'm Oakmont,
I'm not this ain't even you thought, Beth Page Black hard.

Speaker 1 (01:27:05):
You think Shinnicott next year? That year was going to
be hard. Look at it.

Speaker 2 (01:27:09):
In two thousand and seven on Hell, Cabrera held off
Tiger at Oakmont. The winning scores plus five. Cow was
the winning score plus five. So yeah, and that's the
Tiger's prime. Yeah, exactly his prime Prime and on hell,
Cabrera held him off and one with a plus five.
All right, turn the NBA. And by the way, we're

(01:27:29):
gonna be joined by our dear friend John Paul Morosi.

Speaker 1 (01:27:32):
JP Morosi is going to be joining us later in.

Speaker 2 (01:27:34):
The hour talking every different subject. All right, I want
to ask you about Kevin Durant right now. So reports
are that he would prefer to go to Miami, San
Antonio or Houston.

Speaker 1 (01:27:46):
There you go. I'm not quite sure why Minnesota is
not on this list. I don't like Minnesota, fran No, No,
why not? Because it mesh it is?

Speaker 2 (01:28:01):
Yes, so I figured they would have to give up Randall,
who didn't really fit in Minnesota anyway.

Speaker 1 (01:28:08):
I mean, Phoenix has got to get something in return.
You got to get to you. Randall was their best
player in the entire postseason.

Speaker 2 (01:28:14):
Would you say Minnesota would be upgraded replacing him with Durant?

Speaker 1 (01:28:18):
No? Okay, well then here see I'm not far off from.

Speaker 2 (01:28:22):
You, because I heal it it. I mean, we he
leaves Golden State, he goes to the Nets. Right, we're
gonna I'm gonna put my team together with Kyrine and Harden.
How did that work? And then Phoenix gives up everything
from a sixty plus win team that had just been
to the finals, that just had a big year. They

(01:28:43):
gut of their team, figuring out, we got to get Durant.

Speaker 1 (01:28:45):
How's that working? Didn't even make the playoffs this show?

Speaker 2 (01:28:48):
Okay, so let's take Minnesota out. Let's focus on the Heat. Yes,
the Spurs and the Rockets. So obviously of those teams
right now, Rockets were the two seed in the West,
and they're sort of void of that Superstar score. Right
if you look at the Rockets, they're avoid of that.
Is that the best face right there?

Speaker 3 (01:29:07):
You absolutely, one hundred one thousand percent it is the
Houston Rockets.

Speaker 1 (01:29:13):
It is no other team, the Miami Heat.

Speaker 3 (01:29:16):
Can we please get rid of this idea that the
Heat coachure and the Heat are gonna do something. They
don't have the heatles no more, guys, they don't have
Young Flash in his prime in a pissed off shack
with a chip on his shoulder. This isn't that Heat team,
This isn't that franchise no more. Can we please let
go of that? But this Houston Rocket team, he doesn't

(01:29:38):
have to come in and be a savior. He could
come in and just be the scoring threat that that
will fit in And the main reason why is their
head coach will hold him and check email. Doku is
one of the bruhs. He's not one of the guys.
He's one of the brushs, which means he could take
a guy like Kevin Durant, who's from PG County, who

(01:29:59):
I'm very familiar with. I saw Kevin duran when he's
fifteen years old playing for Mantros Christian Academy and his
AAU team was the DC Assault team with Michael Beasley
and Nolan Smith and those guys that went off the
duke and with the whole kill and played high school basketball.
I've seen Kevin Durant a long time. It takes a
certain type of guy. Steve Kirk couldn't even talk to
that guy at times, right, he'd be getting into I know,

(01:30:20):
kurse not your guy.

Speaker 1 (01:30:21):
Yeah, but I think a Josh is a guy that.

Speaker 3 (01:30:23):
Can kind of honestly get up face to face with
him and say, hey, look, this is what we need
from you here, this is what we're gonna accept from
you here, and can you do this all right?

Speaker 1 (01:30:31):
Make a deal. I'm looking at the roster right now,
the Rockets.

Speaker 3 (01:30:35):
Just give up picks. I'm not giving up none of
that young talent. I'll give you all the picks you want. Yeah,
what we just talked about, picks don't mean nothing. They
don't mean nothing in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (01:30:43):
Yeah, but yeah, it has to be money for money trades,
and that you have to give up money at some
point you can't pick up that contract. It has to
be there has to be a trade off money wise.

Speaker 1 (01:30:54):
Make it work, make you I don't have the contracts
in front of me right now. I'm just he got.

Speaker 2 (01:30:57):
Brooks, you got Thompson, he got Green, he got bamned Fleet.

Speaker 3 (01:31:01):
Maybe van Fleet. I can see van Fleet being a
guy that can go that. That Thompson kid. I'm just
I'm not giving him up. I'm not giving I'm not
giving him and his brother are legit and his brother
plays for my beloved Pistons.

Speaker 1 (01:31:13):
Not giving that guy up. You're not giving up Green?
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (01:31:17):
That's your young start and I'm just looking at their
wh But at some point, yeah, maybe obviously you want
to hold as many piece as you can.

Speaker 3 (01:31:25):
Maybe maybe, And I want to mispronounce his name, so yeah,
maybe him and if I'm Phoenix, I ask for him
for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:31:34):
If I'm Phoenix, I'm asking for.

Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
Adams, right. I Mean, he's I thought service a little
big guy, but god.

Speaker 3 (01:31:42):
Man, you see, he's one of those guys you need
what you do. That's just a big, beauty, blue collar
bang around. They need the ball, but it's gonna bust
his ass every every dribble. He's gonna play hard. Steven
Adams don't take plays off. You need one of those guys.
Do you give that up for an ultimate scoring threat

(01:32:03):
that can go get you forty.

Speaker 1 (01:32:04):
Five on any given night? Maybe? Yeah. But Kevin Durant's
also on the down side of his career.

Speaker 3 (01:32:10):
He's not even at the peak tipping over the edge
him Lebron stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:32:14):
They're all on the downside.

Speaker 8 (01:32:16):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:32:16):
Those guys aren't winning no more rings. So he's not
the one A guy. Let's just get that out of it.
You don't bring him in to be the one A guy.
He's got to kind of play the B role. Can
Kevin Durant do that?

Speaker 2 (01:32:26):
Look at Tiger Woods about oh, in the rain delay,
they're showing the two thousand and eight us O. But
Tiger Woods, it's gonna.

Speaker 1 (01:32:34):
Be a long rain delay, folks.

Speaker 2 (01:32:35):
Yeah, this may not end today, all right, coming up
on the other side, we'll get back to the game
that matters right now. That's Game five of the NBA
Finals tomorrow. Okay, c can they finally gain control of
this series against those pesky pacers. We're in the Fox
Sports Radio studios and this is Fox Sports Sunday, Harvin Husky,

(01:32:58):
Fox Sports sun Hey, here in the Fox Sports Radio studio.
So again, rain delay at the US Open at Oakmont,
and we'll see how long it's going to take for
them to dry things out. So then get back out
on the course. But right now, East coast for twenty
Right now on the East coast there's.

Speaker 1 (01:33:19):
A lot of golf to be played. Still.

Speaker 3 (01:33:21):
Oh they did ten holes. Somebody's guys got nine to
ten holes left.

Speaker 2 (01:33:24):
Yeah, so they got a lot over and I don't
know if they're going to be able to finish it today.

Speaker 1 (01:33:29):
They got it. I just hate when that happens.

Speaker 2 (01:33:32):
Well also, but also you will have a real possibility
of a playoff. Now. I remember for years this was
the last eighteen whole playoff. When Tiger won his last
US He's opened in two thousand and eighty beat Rock
re Mediate the next day on an eighteen hole playoff.
It's not that any longer. It is a two whole aggregate.

Speaker 1 (01:33:50):
Okay, that is it. I don't either. I would love
to have atls. It's the hardest what they had to do.
They had to do something different.

Speaker 2 (01:33:58):
So the Masters is a one hole, the PGA is
a three hole, and the Open Championship four holes. So
the one that was left was the two hole aggregate,
and that is what the US Open is.

Speaker 3 (01:34:11):
But right, get up money and watching that eighteen between Tiger,
remember he's walking around on a torn acl Oh.

Speaker 1 (01:34:17):
By the way, they were still tied after eighteen.

Speaker 2 (01:34:19):
Yeah, I had play. I mean it was crazy. That
was phenomenal golf out there. So again, Sam Burns is
at two under, Adam Scott's one under, and nobody else
is even at even par. So it's a lot of
golf to be played. And by the way, the leaders
still have eleven holes to play, so they're not going
to get They're not going to get eleven holes in today.
I don't see how that's going to happen. All right,

(01:34:41):
let's get back to tomorrow night. We get Game five
of the NBA Finals. The Pacers had a golden opportunity
to take charge of this NBA Finals, and they scored
seventeen points in the fourth quarter on their home court,
with their home fans. Scott Foster the extender was able
to get the job done. Ignore a few obvious calls
that would have gone against OKAC. But let's also give

(01:35:05):
Shay Gilgess Alexander credit. As I said, the one stat
that stood out for me in that Game four was
zero assist zero.

Speaker 1 (01:35:14):
He just said, give me the ball.

Speaker 2 (01:35:16):
We need I this is I'm the MVP, and I'm
gonna have to play like the MVP. But he also
got played out of Jalen Williams twenty seven points in
the game, and.

Speaker 1 (01:35:28):
You know your BIG's got to come.

Speaker 2 (01:35:31):
Up big, and he was able to do that fifteen
rebounds in that game, had a big follow up rebound.
But overall, here's been the big surprise for me in
this series. We just thought, look on paper, you're talking
about a sixty eight win team out of the Western
Conference going out of the going against the four seed
in the East, right, and this should be a mismatch.

(01:35:53):
The one thing that has not played out like a
lot of people thought was the bench, Pacers bench is
out out scoring the Thunder bench every single game, including
game For every single game, that Pacers bench is outscoring
the Thunder and it's not even close. So if I
would love to say, all right, I'm ready because I
just told you earlier I got Thunder winning big, right,

(01:36:17):
How confident am I not?

Speaker 1 (01:36:20):
Really? Okay? I mean it would it be shocking to
me at this point.

Speaker 2 (01:36:24):
I haven't watched this series that the Pacer that the
Thunder could give it right back, having no regain home
court advantage.

Speaker 1 (01:36:30):
Could they give it right back? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:36:33):
Because at times this Thunder team doesn't play inspired basketball.
You would think, aren't you jacked up? NBA Finals come on?
And at times they just absolutely look awful. That's why
I get back to coaching. They just he can't seem
to keep this team focused right now. But that's been
the difference that a lot of people haven't been talking about,

(01:36:53):
is how the Pacers bench has dominated the Thunder bench.

Speaker 3 (01:36:57):
Yeah, not only that three point shooting the other night
for Algloma City of sixteen, so they couldn't hit the three.
So for tomorrow night, I mean, we could talk about
the pass all we want. I like to talk about
the President of the future tomorrow. I haven't called this
guy out because I'm a fan. He's like this year,
I've become a fan with the Olympics and what he's
done in this league and then the ways carried himself
this year, and just I think he's cool.

Speaker 1 (01:37:18):
Shade thinks he's cool. A lot of people thinks he's cool.

Speaker 3 (01:37:21):
But I gotta call him out because you needed tomorrow night,
young man, Tyreez Halliburton.

Speaker 1 (01:37:25):
This is a this is your game. This is a game.

Speaker 3 (01:37:28):
It's not at home, it's on the road. Rockets crowd
two to two Game five. We all know the winner
of Game five, I believe wins this series eighty six
percent of the time. I know it's around that that.
I don't know if I have the percentage, like nailed
down to a t. But whoever wins game five in
the two to two series, it's over eighty percent that

(01:37:50):
they win the series. That's how important this game is.
And if you're that guy, like we already know Shake
Gilges Alexandria is that guy, right, he's the MVP.

Speaker 2 (01:37:57):
We already know he's that guy. I again, I knew
he was a great player. I know the staff that
he willed to Mike only, guys, they have three consecutive
years thirty plus points on fifty percent plus shooting right.
But I needed a game like that because they haven't
had a lot of close games this year. That's why
when you looked at Clutch Player of the Year, he
barely got to vote right, because how many clutch situations.

Speaker 1 (01:38:19):
Are you in when you're blowing out the your opponents.

Speaker 2 (01:38:21):
For him to do what he did in the last
five minutes of that game, in my eyes, took him
to another one.

Speaker 1 (01:38:26):
See, I wanted to impress that much. Impress. But I
thought a lot of it was refereeated. I really do.
I thought a lot it was referee aated.

Speaker 3 (01:38:32):
And I remember sitting on the couch and I'm sitting
there and watching the game with some people, and I go, guys, look,
I told you, guys, how it would wear on him
that Indiana has about three or four guys that they
can really throw on him, and that can get physical
with him, and that can play defense and not foul.
And I'll put him on the line a lot. And

(01:38:52):
his scoring when they put up a graphic, his scoring
each game was going down. And then Scott Foster and
the no call start and then he does. What he
does is the MVP is a great basketball player, six
to six frame, long arms. He can get a shot
on anybody. He's bringing the mid range game back into
the NBA. He loves the elbow free throw jumper. He

(01:39:14):
gets to that spot. I don't understand why guys even
let him get there. I'm blitzing him. Yeah if I'm
if he's trying to get there, I'm just blitzing him
because you know, when you get there, he's hitting that
shot eighty five percent of the time. But I I
it didn't make me think any different of him. Already
thought he was a legit player. When you win an
MVP in his league, you're a legit player. But I
need Terrese to be that guy tomorrow night to say, Okay,

(01:39:35):
we're on the road. We don't want to go back
three too, because that's that's a must win elimination game
to try to force to get back to uh okay. See,
that's why I do miss for the finals. The two
three two format.

Speaker 1 (01:39:48):
Do you I mean? Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:39:50):
The three to two format was introduced in the mid
eighties because of the travel situation. You know, you're you're
you're going back and forth, and so you know two
and then and two. But I wasn't. I wasn't that
big of a fan of two three two. Baseball's done
it for years. The World Series always been two three two.

Speaker 1 (01:40:09):
But I don't know. I you know, you you.

Speaker 2 (01:40:12):
Would see teams get a split, go home, and then
sweep it out and that.

Speaker 1 (01:40:16):
Would be it.

Speaker 3 (01:40:17):
Well that's what great teams said. Well you would see
team you see that sumertime. But my thing was with
home court advantage, right, Well.

Speaker 1 (01:40:24):
How to think about this?

Speaker 3 (01:40:25):
If you if you nomination to go on the road,
okay and take somebody out either two or three on
their home court, are take three?

Speaker 1 (01:40:33):
The Pistons did it? Remember the Pistons in Portland and now.

Speaker 3 (01:40:36):
Portland series with the Pistons and it was like the
first time that anybody had gone into Portland in the
postseason was like forty something straight games because Bill Ambert
has the famous colt is sitting on the bench and
go we just beat the streak because when they stole
that game too, remember Terry Porter's running off the court.

Speaker 1 (01:40:53):
And talking trash. Ah, well we ain't coming back.

Speaker 3 (01:40:55):
This is over because we don't lose it, and the
Pistons just went to Portland and a call of them.

Speaker 1 (01:41:00):
The Bulls did the same thing with.

Speaker 2 (01:41:03):
I'll give you an example two thousand and four Pistons Lakers. Right,
so the Lakers have home court advantage. Uh huh, Detroit
steals Game one, Kobe hits a game winner to get
Game two.

Speaker 1 (01:41:14):
They go to Detroit over three in a row over.

Speaker 2 (01:41:17):
I mean, had Game five been in LA, Lakers might
have come back in that series.

Speaker 1 (01:41:22):
Or if you show up for Game one, you're.

Speaker 2 (01:41:25):
Oh, they were blindsided by a Pistons team that they
thought was going to be a walkover.

Speaker 3 (01:41:30):
That's what they thought exactly, and then Kobe saves him
in Game two, could have remembered that game goes to overtime.
First of all, Kobe hits the twenty seven foot and
three point over Hamilton force overtime, and then he also
then goes and scores ten of their twelve points in
overtime to get that.

Speaker 2 (01:41:47):
The bottom line was, had it gone back to LA
for a game five, I think it could have been
a different series.

Speaker 1 (01:41:51):
All Right, Once.

Speaker 2 (01:41:52):
Again, ladies and gentlemen, let's find out what is frinding
right now? To Moroso Jonas on the other side, here
is month.

Speaker 5 (01:42:00):
Oh here, I am still on that range lay at
the US Open. It has the videos coming out of
like some of what the golfers are having to go through.

Speaker 6 (01:42:09):
It's just they're kind of funny. I'd be so mad
if I was a golfer right now, I'd be.

Speaker 7 (01:42:13):
So annoyed because it's like, there's nothing I can do here.
But Sam Burns is in the lead of two under
bar overall, Adam Scott one shot back.

Speaker 6 (01:42:21):
It really is any one's game at this point in baseball.

Speaker 5 (01:42:26):
Several games have wrapped up, like the Reds, who defeated
the Tigers eight to four. Elie de la Cruz had
three RBI scored three runs. The Orioles crushed the Angels
eleven to two to complete a three game sweep.

Speaker 7 (01:42:37):
Gary Sanchez had a grand slam of the seventh inning
for Baltimore.

Speaker 6 (01:42:41):
The Rockies crushed the Braves ten to one. The Marlins
handed the hands at the Nationals are eighth straight loss.
Three to one was the final score, and the Red
Sox shut out the Yankees to zero.

Speaker 7 (01:42:51):
Billy's they're up on the Blue Jays right now, eleven
to four.

Speaker 5 (01:42:54):
Bottom of the eighth any Nick Astaiano's likes to.

Speaker 6 (01:42:57):
Perform when things are happening around the world. Hit a
Grand Slam today. It's always some time, there's always something like.

Speaker 7 (01:43:04):
It's one of my favorite conspiracy theories that are something
that's going around the where all the Nicsta Yamas is
probably gonna do something. The Rays are shutting out the
Mets six zero top of the ninth inning. Twins and
Astros are headed to extra innings, tied.

Speaker 6 (01:43:15):
At one apiece. Royles and A's are tied at to
a piece top of the eighth inning.

Speaker 5 (01:43:19):
The Brewers are edging the Cardinals three to two top
of the ninth Pirates and Cubs tied a two a
piece bottom of the ninth inning.

Speaker 6 (01:43:25):
In Chicago right now.

Speaker 5 (01:43:26):
Rangers edging the White Sox two to one, bottom of
the sixth inning. At the FIFA Club World Cup, PSG
Paris Saint Germain up on Atletico Madrid two to nil
at the sixty three minute mark. In the NBA earlier today,
the Grizzlies traded Desmond Bane to the Magic for Kentavious Caldwell,
Pope Cole Anthony, four unprotected first round picks and one

(01:43:47):
first round pick swap, and in the NFL ESPN reporting
good news for Bengals fans because apparently they have begun
communication once again with their all Pro defensive Entrey Hendrickson
on his contract and future with the team.

Speaker 6 (01:44:01):
I know, I know, man, they have one of.

Speaker 3 (01:44:03):
The worst defense in the league.

Speaker 6 (01:44:06):
Yeah, we're listening time.

Speaker 2 (01:44:08):
Yeah, and then thank you because if they can cheat him,
I mean, you know, one of the worst defense in
the league, one of the best defensive linemen in the league,
and you're playing around with them, are you kidding me?

Speaker 9 (01:44:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:44:17):
Well, they don't want to pay anything in cheap operations.

Speaker 5 (01:44:20):
They think that just scoring a lot will win, even
though it didn't help the money.

Speaker 3 (01:44:24):
I'm about to say if they if they think that,
then they didn't watch their own team.

Speaker 1 (01:44:28):
And we're so close, We're so close. Yeah, take him
out of the real close.

Speaker 2 (01:44:34):
Hi, Monsie. Thank you so much that everybody out there.

right after we get off the air. Well, it's always
an honor for us to check in with one of

(01:45:04):
our favorite people in the world.

Speaker 1 (01:45:06):
They're great.

Speaker 2 (01:45:07):
John palm Arosi is Johnny us right now and JP,
A very happy Father's Day to.

Speaker 9 (01:45:13):
You today, David, BJ, happy Father's Date that you both
as well.

Speaker 6 (01:45:17):
And I can tell you this.

Speaker 9 (01:45:18):
I'm actually with my daughters right now as nice, very fitting.
They have promised me that in the midst of daddy
daughter adventure day that they are, they're going to be
relatively quiet, they have assured me so, so we can
have this conversation right now.

Speaker 1 (01:45:36):
Well, JP, I was telling VJ a story.

Speaker 2 (01:45:38):
We had to put down one of our dogs this week,
very traumatic obviously for the entire family and my daughter,
who's now twenty four. She was twelve when she sort
of picked him out of the kennel, and so I
had to really be dad.

Speaker 1 (01:45:51):
Daddy. I was daddy this week for my daughter.

Speaker 2 (01:45:54):
So that never changes as your girls get older. Believe me,
nothing will ever change. I promise you that. All Right,
we got a lot dound to cover a very short
amount of time. You know, I'm going to start with
the Stanley Cup Final. I mean, here, we had three
overtimes in the first four games. It seemed like Edmonton
had the all the momentum, you know, coming from behind
on the road and delivering the big victory and overtime

(01:46:15):
and they go back home and well, Marshawn showed up again, right.

Speaker 1 (01:46:20):
I Mean, we talked so.

Speaker 2 (01:46:22):
Much about dry Seidel and you talk about obviously McDavid,
and then you lose sight of a guy like Marshawn
who has put together a Hall of Fame career. You know,
obviously he's won Cups. But why is it that certain
guys you've seen over the years just seem to show
up in the biggest games like Marshawn.

Speaker 9 (01:46:42):
Well, it's a great question, and I'll answer it this way.
But whether it's hockey, whether it's baseball, football, hoops, any sport.
The more people I talked to about exactly the question
that you're asking, tell me that it's not as though
a Marshawan or Derek Jeter the great out performers than
any sport. Tom Brady, that it's not as though they

(01:47:04):
raise their level, but it's that while the other players
on the ice, or on the field or on the
court might feel the pressure and have their performance diminish.
They are prepared and remain at the same high standard
they've always had during the course of the regular season.
And I think that's that's it, because it's it's impossible

(01:47:25):
to say whether it's hockey, and from having had the
pleasure of covering this CINNA Cup playoffs multiple times, it
is so hard. It is so hard to win the Cup,
and I think it's unrealistic to ask yourself to be
better than you've always been. So just tell yourself that
you're gonna hit yourself to the headspace and the physical
place to be disciplined so that way your true level

(01:47:47):
of performance comes out and it's not compromised by feeling
or acknowledging or giving too much credit to the pressure.
Trust your preparation. Derek Jeter has talked about as before,
and I think Marshawn is someone that has has been
in so many big moments. You're right, he's a Hall
of Famer period, full stop. And what he did in
Game five. You're not supposed to be able to score

(01:48:09):
a goal seconds after your team loses a draw. How
does that happen? And it's just because he has one
speed that he plays all the time. He is not
the biggest guy in this series, not the fastest, but
I don't think there's a more competitive person on the
ice in the Seneicup Final than Brad Marshan. And that's
a big reason why the Florida Panthers right now are

(01:48:30):
one win away from their second straight Stanley Cup.

Speaker 1 (01:48:33):
Yeah, looking to go back to back man and just
five to two.

Speaker 3 (01:48:36):
I mean it just the Oilers almost looked like a
shell of himself the other night, like they've they've exhausted.

Speaker 1 (01:48:41):
All their energy. Let's switch.

Speaker 3 (01:48:43):
First of all, Happy Father's Day to you also too, bro,
all the fathers in your family, with your uncle's brothers,
everybody man that you notice a dad, Happy Father's Day
and God bless all those gentlemen. Let's twitch to the NBA.
And it was a big trades today. But I don't
want to talk about that. I want to talk about
the trade that we think is gonna happen. And Steve
and I were just talking about Kevin Durant and the
three teams that he has out there, and you know what, man, Honestly,

(01:49:04):
I'm gonna shock everybody right now, And I'm gonna ask
you a question. I'm sure plenty of people gonna go, oh, guy,
what this guy doesn't know basketball?

Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
What's he talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:49:11):
I think Houston is the best fit for him and
the three teams that's out there, and I'm sure we
can throw out a bunch of our other own teams.
But at this point, do you even want Kevin Durant
at this point in your career his career? Just I mean,
I'll just leave you with that, JP, Do you even
want Kevin Durant if you're one of these three teams

(01:49:33):
right now?

Speaker 9 (01:49:34):
Well, let's put it this way. I would not acquire
him for the package that Orlando gave up to obviously
get a high end offensive player today, I don't think
Durant is at this point time in his career worth
a package of that type. I just I think you
look at teams that have had success. I mean, certainly

(01:49:55):
the Pacers obviously they've they've got some experience on their roster,
no doubt about it. So does so does Okay, see,
but they're they're being driven by by the young superstar
in their respective rosters, and and look at look at
the New York Knicks, who of course made it to
the Eastern Final. I realize, uh, they've let Thibodeau go
since then, but they were driven by Dyalen Brunson to

(01:50:17):
a large extent. These are to me, it is becoming
a young person's game that you can you can make
it to the NBA Finals with a younger team. And
for example, and we talked a lot about the Pistons
earlier on in this spring, I don't think that Bisiness
should trade for Kevin Durant as as a as a
as a Michigan or as some watches that team carefully
during the playoffs. No, now, Devin Devin Booker, We'll talk

(01:50:42):
about Devin Booker, but I don't I don't for me
Kevin Durant right now, unless it's a very specific circumstance.
I could see Houston making says that that's an organization
that has had superstar players that are kind of of
his stature and fitting before. There's just there's more of
a comfort level there where. I just I don't think
that there are many places right now that would be

(01:51:03):
a good fit for Durant, given the price tag, given
his age, and given how many games you could actually
expect him to play next season, right.

Speaker 2 (01:51:12):
I think we're all on the same page as far
as Sarana is concerned. I again, yeah, I'll add him,
but I'm not getting my roster. We saw what happened
to Phoenix, uh and how that worked not so well.

Speaker 1 (01:51:22):
Uh. So VJ was asking me this, uh, and I
want to ask you this.

Speaker 2 (01:51:26):
So he was talking about his mount rushmore like you know,
the goats in each sport. So he's got Alie in
in uh, in boxing, he's got Tiger Woods. Uh. You
the argument, but he's got Tiger Uh, he's got Tom Brady.

Speaker 1 (01:51:40):
Uh. And then he had Michael Jordan.

Speaker 2 (01:51:43):
So then he was asking me about baseball, right, And
I just thought about it, and I thought, if you
were to tell me I have one guy to be
the face of baseball in my book, it's.

Speaker 1 (01:51:57):
Still Babe Ruth.

Speaker 2 (01:52:00):
I mean, I I don't I mean with there've been
obviously maybe, I mean, I still still think that Willie
Mays are the greatest all around player I've ever seen.

Speaker 1 (01:52:08):
Obviously, Otani's a very special talent.

Speaker 2 (01:52:11):
But I don't know about you, JP, but Babe Ruth
to me is still the face of baseball.

Speaker 1 (01:52:16):
One hundred years later, I.

Speaker 9 (01:52:19):
Would argue from a standpoint of impact on not just
the game, but the country, I would I would still
go Jackie Robinson for me, for me, but but if
you were going to give me a mount rushmore so,
that would mean for me for four people, right, So
I would say in that case, Jackie Robinson, Babe Ruth.

(01:52:39):
I do think I would say May's and then I
would go Clemente because you look at the just the
way that the game is as a cultural institution, Babe
Ruth in many ways, save the sport. Jackie Robinson helped
to transform the United States of America. Willie Mays, also

(01:52:59):
someone who who was playing around the time the color
barrier was broken, was one of the leading people in
the National League. And you think about how we celebrated
his legacy last year at rickwood Field. And then Clemente,
who gave voice and hope to the so many Latino
players who have in the sixty years since the debut,

(01:53:19):
changed our sport and again changed our country all over again.
I look at the institution of social change as being
a part of that conversation. That's that's what I would do.
I would have Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente.
There's so many other can that. You can argue Cofax,
you can argue Otani. He's make it huge, amou.

Speaker 2 (01:53:39):
Well that was my We're out of time, but I mean,
is Otani potentially going to be on that list?

Speaker 9 (01:53:46):
I would say this, if he does this for five
more years, yeah, then I put him on that rush More.
I'm not quite sure I know who exactly bump off
that sport to put Otani on it, because that's that's
a pretty tough call. But he's working his way in
it being an elevated icon of global sports status.

Speaker 1 (01:54:07):
JP.

Speaker 2 (01:54:08):
Enjoy your time with your daughters. Enjoy your Father's day.
I know they love their daddy and taking time for
us today. We always appreciate it. We'll talk to you
next week.

Speaker 9 (01:54:19):
Steven VJ. Thanks to you, Thanks to Shay, and thanks
to my girls for being very patient. Thank you girls,
love you all right.

Speaker 3 (01:54:27):
Thanks guys.

Speaker 2 (01:54:29):
John Paul Morosi came on help with other side our
final predictions on tomorrow's NBA finals and who is going
to win this US Open. Whenever it does finish, we'll
tell you. This is Fox Sports Sunday. Harvin and Husky
Fox Sports Sunday here in the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Moncey Carrie coming up and again, hope all the dad's

(01:54:57):
out there having a great day. Yes, a lot of
day left. It's probably not gonna include golf though. It
has been pouring into Oakmont, so even if they do
get some golf in today, there's just not gonna be
enough time. The leaders have eleven holes to play and
they are not going to get that done. They got
to draw out that course to make a play. You

(01:55:18):
don't want the US Open to be decided on a
course it's unplayable. I mean, it's tough enough, but I
mean then you're really.

Speaker 3 (01:55:28):
But you also don't want to decide it after everybody
gets to go get a good night's sleep and kind
of reset some.

Speaker 1 (01:55:34):
I just well, I don't like the weather. Is the weather,
I get it, I get it. But they dodged the
ball yesterday because yesterday.

Speaker 2 (01:55:42):
They thought there was going to be rain and the
storm went north of them and they got the full
third round in. I also want to thank our great
supporting cast. Well Moncie, she's ready for her show with
Carrie Chris phenomenal today as well. I really liked your
perfet picks today.

Speaker 1 (01:56:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:56:01):
By the way, can we lay one to rest your
father appearing on TV?

Speaker 1 (01:56:04):
Yeah? Than that today?

Speaker 4 (01:56:05):
Yeah, you both picked under those points. Were trying to
figure out if we have to include tomorrow because of this.
But I don't even know if he's staying in Pittsburgh tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:56:13):
I was gonna say seven six seven six is the
score now?

Speaker 1 (01:56:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:56:17):
Uh, And we will keep an eye on Scottie Scheffler.

Speaker 3 (01:56:21):
He's seven six ball alright, So I say seven seven
seven seven seven seven.

Speaker 2 (01:56:27):
Hold on, hold on, there's a long way to go
right along. And Shay are brilliant producer. Shaye, what are
you been working you? You seem very preoccupied right now.
I could even hear me.

Speaker 1 (01:56:37):
I'm not talking to my sho.

Speaker 2 (01:56:39):
I hear Oh, you can hear me, because you've been
very busy throughout you have you haven't said a word
to that.

Speaker 1 (01:56:44):
I mean he's been there, He's been focused on something.
I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:56:47):
Shay's filling himself. Shay's got the hair growing. The wig
is coming out of the Dodger fitted like Shay, Shane
and I have some golf to play and we got
a one on one basketball game to get We've been
talking trash for about a year.

Speaker 1 (01:56:58):
I think we need to get on the court and
get this game going.

Speaker 3 (01:57:00):
Because he said he said he's gonna He says, when
you look up and I'm flying over you, I'm like, what.

Speaker 1 (01:57:05):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:57:06):
By the way, I will get to give this to
Shae as as anyone knows, if you have a conversation
with me, nothing's off the record, So Shae, I was.
I was asking Shae, because you know, he's in the
same age bracket as my boys, about when do you
expect to be a father someday?

Speaker 9 (01:57:23):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:57:23):
You know, do you have like a sort of a
timeline set?

Speaker 2 (01:57:27):
And he said something right out that I stopped and said,
all right, you're on track. And he was talking about, well,
you know, when I have a secure job and you know,
and then I can start, you know, And I said,
stop right there, thank you, Because my my feeling is
always this.

Speaker 1 (01:57:42):
I always say this, getting married, having children is not
a necessity. It's a luxury. Yep, it's a luxury. And
you're never ready. There's no pairing there ready.

Speaker 2 (01:57:59):
You're never you know, when you're expecting your first child.
Everyone will tell you all this blah blah, blah blah blah.
That's all great, that's fine, that's fine, but nothing prepares
you the the reality of creating life is just so
out of you know, even to this day and all
my kids are well into their twenties and everything else,

(01:58:19):
it's still hard for me to think that I'm a dad, right,
you know, I know that I had a part in
bringing these three human beings into the world, and obviously, yeah,
I play the role of father many times over. But yeah,
it's still hard for me to sort of grasp that.
But I think Shay's on the right track. That's what
I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (01:58:37):
For for dads and being on Father's Day. This is
the advice I give the young men that's looking to
be dads and young guys that are just newly dads.
Eighty five or ninety he's gonna agree with me. Eighty
five ninety percent of being a dad, honestly, it is
just being there.

Speaker 1 (01:58:50):
Oh yeah's you're gonna screw up so much.

Speaker 3 (01:58:55):
You're gonna mess up so much as a dad, But
if you're there, it makes all the different friends and
also to your job, your career, because Shay, I know
people I want to be stayed with. I want to
be established. Guess what, when that job's ready to cut you,
they'll cut you. When those friends are whoever ready to
get ready, they'll get rid of you. But you know
what's always You know what you're always gonna be when
you walk in the door at night. You're always gonna

(01:59:15):
be Daddy. My kids, you think they care if I
had a good show today, They don't care.

Speaker 1 (01:59:20):
They don't care, Daddy.

Speaker 3 (01:59:22):
My daughter runs to me, my three year old daughter
journey and wraps around my leg.

Speaker 1 (01:59:26):
Daddy your home, my mission. She knows Daddy Radio or
Daddy Lakers, or she knows what I go do. But
she doesn't go, did you have a good show, Daddy?
She just knows Daddy's home.

Speaker 9 (01:59:35):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:59:36):
So yeah, there's no there's no preparation for this stuff, bro,
what happens, Just.

Speaker 2 (01:59:40):
Be there all right, very quick picture right now. First
of all, who's gonna end up winning.

Speaker 1 (01:59:44):
This US Open? Adam Scott going with Adam Scott. Scott's
gonna I would have said Scott, but now I'm gonna
go hop them all right. He's gonna gonna win this,
all right? And then tomorrow night, who's gonna win game?
Five NBA Finals. Pacers take tomorrow because they've already done it.

Speaker 2 (01:59:58):
One okay C blow out as they take control of
