Straight Fire for Tuesday, October seventh. If you can't tell,
I am so geeked through the roof by friends. Oh
it feels good. Oh boy. About ten minutes ago, the
Jacksonville Jaguars just took down the Kansas City Chiefs. Listen, man,

that game was a little sleepy to start. Then the
Jags peel off twenty one straight and the fourth quarter
was bonkers.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Listen.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
This is kind of where the NFL is right now,
isn't it. I mean a lot of like, uh, it's
not fun, sleepy, boring, plotting penalties, and then all of
a sudden, the fourth quarter just gets crazy. It's crunch
time and people go bonkers. I was on the edge
of my seat. I let out multiple oh my god,
(00:58):
like stand up screen. I mean at the TV. My
family's looking at me, and at one point my daughter goes, Dad,
you bet on the Jaguars. She's only twelve. I was
like yeah. She's like, when did they get good? I'm like, well,
they're not that good. That's the problem. That was when
they were down fourteen to nothing, and of course you
know Trevor Lawrence. Listen, Trevor Lawrence is much maligned. At
(01:19):
some point, I need to do a podcast about Trevor
Lawrence because it's weird when you come in highly acclaimed
starts as a true freshman of Clemson. I think he
won the Natty as a true freshman. What did the playoff?
Every year? The guy was amazing, came in as like
the best prospect basically since Andrew Luck, and he hasn't
lived up to the hype. I believe he has one
playoff victory, so naturally everybody's like, well, he's not that good.

How good could he be? I mean, got let's be real, Okay,
Jacksonville has never done jack squat in the NFL. A
couple AFC Championship games, one with Blake Bortles, and I
think they had one way back with like Mark Brunell
or something. Okay, but mostly the franchise has been a
train wreck. All right, So Lawrence goes there as like

the savior, and I've been this has been a theme
this season, right, the franchise savior is different from a
franchise quarterback. Okay, so Baker Mayfield appears to be the
Tampa Bay Bucks franchise quarterback now. But he didn't. He
didn't come in as the savior. Nobody was like, oh,
Baker's gonna save us. But when the Browns drafted Baker,
they thought he's gonna save us because they took him one. Okay,

Daniel Jones, Hey Giants took him six. Oh that's our guy,
he's our French. Oh he's gonna bring us back to
the promise that we had Eli He you know, got
us two super Bowls. This is our next guy. And
then pretty evident was pretty quickly, you know, I know,
they did get to the playoffs and he beat Minnesota
on the road, blah blah blah. But it was obvious
that they overpaid him and he's not their guy, all right,
And now he goes to the Colts as the backup.

So there's like no expectations and he's crushing it. Trevor
Lawrence has had the burden of expectations since they drafted him,
and he cycled through a bunch of head coaches. I
think Liam Cohen is his third, maybe fourth head coach.
There was Urban Meyer, there was a guy before him.
The last guy was a disaster like it's just been
bad after bad, and Leom Cohen appears to be really
really good time outs at the end, they're notwithstanding. So

it's weird. I personally think Lawrence is good. I don't
think he's like a top five quarterback. I don't think
you could make the case is he top ten? No?
For instance, is he playing better or has he ever
had a better stretch than Dak Prescott when Dak was
like finished what second or third in the MVP? Probably not,
but I'll say this, he's also buried in the deck

at one o'clock almost every freaking week. Meanwhile, Dak gets
all the high profile games, shows up, He's got des Bryant,
who's a superstar. He's now got Cde Lamb. He had
Zekiel Elliott, like he had really good teams. He had
Mike McCarthy, who's a super Bowl winning coach. I know
now he's doing it a shoddy different story, but I'm
just saying, like, Trevor Lawrence, really he's he started twenty

six yesterday, Like that's how young this guy is. And
there's always all Trevor Lawrence singks. Listen, I'm just gonna
go through. Obviously, I'll do plenty on the Chiefs. I
don't want to. Let's celebrate the winners right now, Okay.
And Trevor Lawrence, it's just a wild swing of emotions.
It's like one of these movies where it's just like
you're getting whiplash from all the chaos that's happening around you.

I mean, it's seven nothing. Trevor Lawrence tries to go
over the top on what looked like an aborted push
push tush push. Did you see the guy came up
behind to push Trevor, but instead of just going through
the middle, he stuck the ball up and I think
it was Bolton who knocked it out. And I'm like, Trevor,
what the hell? Chiefs go ninety eight yards or whatever
it is, touchdown fourteen nothing. At that point, I'm like,
we're screwed. It's over Chiefs. They're not gonna give up
(04:45):
this lead. Trevor Lawrence fought brought them back. I listen.
I don't think he was bad. I mean, obviously that
fumble hurt. But he leads him right back down the
field for the touchdown and they go into the half
down fourteen to seven. Trevor Lawrence drives them down the
field first drive of the second half, makes some awesome
throws and we tie it up. Then Mahomes had his mistake,

and it's weird. Nobody I didn't see. All I saw
was praise for Devin Lloyd. I didn't see any jeez Mahomes.
Oh my gosh ninety nine during pick six? How could
he do that? I mean, listen, if that were Trevor
Lawrence said, through that pick, he's getting philayed, absolutely eviscerated
by the innerwebs and pundits and everybody. But it's Mahomes.
So hey, we give we give Patrick Mahomes a pass
(05:26):
because it's Mahomes. He's won multiple Super Bowls. I don't
know how that. I don't know what the statute of
limitations is on. Hey, it's Patrick Mahomes. But but I digress.
So Mahomes throws Devin Lloyd with the pick. Now, obviously
I was holding a Jags three and a half ticket.
I actually had a little JAG's money line, not a lot,
and I had, you know, Brian Thomas and fantasy. But

that Devin Lloyd touchdown was incredible, totally flipped it. Instead
of being down twenty one to fourteen, they go up
twenty one to fourteen. By the way, if you watch
other replay, Mahomes give a hass half effort kind of
diving in and sidestepped him like he was nothing. However,
I'm not gonna lie. I still have some PTSD from
the Emmanuel de Mercado crap Sunday. So as Lloyd is
(06:10):
streaking down the sideline, he's clearly running out of gas,
and Thornton is coming hard down the sideline and I'm
just like, please, bro secure the ball, and you can
see he kind of brings it up and clutches it
as he's crossing the goal line. He was really about
to pass out and he doesn't fumble. No stupid celebration
and the twenty one to seventeen lead, and it was like,
(06:30):
all right, we got this. And then we find out
that Trevor Lawrence's center is injured and they got to
go with this rookie from USC, a seventh rounder. Well,
Spagnolo's is an amazing coach, right, he notices that instantly,
And what does he do on the next time the
Jags get the ball, pressure up the middle, heavy blitz

and Trevor Lawrence rushes it and I think his receiver
cut off the route and Lawrence was kind of pissed,
but nevertheless, Lawrence throws a pick. Chiefs take over and
two plays later. Three months in for a time, and
we're tired. And at this point this is the Swings.
It's like fourteen to nothing, we're cooked, twenty one fourteen,
we got a shot, twenty one all and I'm like, ah, frickin'
it's Mahomes. It's read. They're not losing. But Jags get

held to a field goal twenty four to twenty one,
and you know, Mahomes come. You know they were going
down the field. It was classic Mahomes. Twelve plays, eighty
six yards. He made some great plays. I think there
was an awesome third down conversion. Maybe not no, no,
there was not a third I think it was Mahomes
(07:34):
just kept making these smart runs. By the way, he
did help me win a fantasy match. It felt great
because I'm probably the best team in the league and
the defending champ, and I was looking at two and
three despite starting out two and zero with the most
points anyways, so you don't care about that. Mahomes makes
plays and they lead, and I'm like, oh, great, three
and a half down the tubes chiefs up for There's

no way Trevor Lawrence can pull this off again. These
are the swings now. I don't know if the actual
fan who didn't gamble on this game or have fantasy
is as into it as I am. But I am.
I mean, I'm on the edge of my seat. My
kid had a sporting thing. I was like, Hunt, I
can't pick him up. There's four minutes left. I got
I gotta watch this. I'm practically sweating, you know, And

I get into the games, like we have four months
of this. You know you're not sweating NBA games three
months into the season. I mean, I'm not. I love it.
I'll watch it. I'm watching Wembe highlights and yes, we'll
talk about Lebron in a minute.

But anyways, Trevor Lawrence, you know, this final drive kind
of starts a little clunky. He's not throwing the ball,

What is happening here, and oh oh, let me back
up real quick before the opening drive starts. These are
the rare mental mistakes the Chiefs usually don't make. So

after the Chiefs take the twenty eight to twenty four lead, okay,
butker kicks the ball out of bounds. That's like, you
can't do that, bro, you're a veteran. Jacksonville takes over
the forty. So now instead of having to go eighty
yards or eighty ish, right, if you kick and tackle whatever,
(09:21):
you only gotta go sixty. That's not bad in the NFL. Now,
they did need a touchdown, But essentially, Lawrence is facing
a third and seven after eating a dumbsack, and you're like,
all right, well, this is a minute left, you know,
and Lawrence throws one of these ropes down the sideline
to Brian Thomas. By the way, it was such a
great pass, just a laser into the arms of Thomas.
(09:43):
He didn't drop it. He has had some drops this season,
and you know, it was a pass. And again this
shows just how much of a loser I am every
Sunday watching. So Daniel Jones was facing the Rams this
same coverage and he threw interceptions on both of these
because he left the ball up in the air too long. Right,
Lawrence throws a laser, the safety is closing, and if
(10:03):
you're watching, you're like, oh my gosh, there's a safety
gonna get there. And no, it's just too good of
a pass right into Thomas's hands. Thirty three yard pickup,
and like, all right, they're in business. And then of
course Jacksonville starts doing Jaguar things like bad timeouts. You know,
instantly you start watching the clock and you're like, oh
my gosh, you can't leave too much time for Mahomes.
(10:25):
If you leave Mahomes three timeouts and forty five seconds,
you're cooked. They're gonna get the field goal. And then
of course it's third and thirteen and you get another rare,
boneheaded mistake by the Chiefs pass interference in the end zone. Now,
McDuffie had a good game. He was mostly locking up Thomas.
But the other corner, you know how the Eagles have

Quinion Mitchell, But cornerback two is kind of a weakness.
Trent McDuffie's very good cornerback two on the Chiefs is
a weakness. I don't even know who the other guy is.
I think it's yeah, I think it's Cook. Oh no,
it's Connor, the defensive back who just you know, he
(11:06):
was a little clumsy and he tried to basically tackle
Brian Thomas in the end zone and they throw the flag,
so you're like first to goal in the one. I
was like, all right, we definitely have this. We're in
great shape Chiefs, you know, not too worried. Maybe we
maybe the jack should just run at once to make
the Chiefs burn a time out, and you know, there
(11:27):
were several options. They decide they're gonna drop back to
pass and that's when Lawrence gets stepped on by his guard. Now,
if you've seen the highlight, if you're a sports fan
list of this, you clearly have Lawrence falls down. He
described it in the postgame interview as sheer panic. So
he tries to get up, falls down again. It was
(11:49):
like Jaguars, what is happening? And then Lawrence gets up.
He says he looked to instantly throw it away, but
in an unbelievable moment of clarity, there was nobody there.
He escapes the rusher, starts towards the end zone, makes
one cut, dives and at that point, guys I mean
it probably you know, it was one of my loudest

screams of the NFL season. I was so geeked for Lorrence. Listen,
I like Trevor Lawrence man ever's first of all. And
I gotta, you know, go back a little bit that
Clemson Ohio State game in the national semifinal when he
was a freshman. I think it was the National semifinal
or was the championship one of those two. I think
I gotta look it up now. But bottom line is,
Trevor Lawrence was facing Ohio State. A lot of perci

you know, those sharp betterers were like, oh, it's gotta
be You've got to take Ohio State here. I was like,
no way, no way, I'm rocking with Trevor Lawrence, who
was just freaking unbelievable that season. And they had really,
really strong wide receivers. It was. It was an incredible team.
And Trevor Lawrence peels off this sixty five yard touchdown run.

He was freaking game.

Yes, yes, yes, it was the championship. Oh my gosh,
I totally forgot about the coach twenty oh no, this
was the semi final. I'm so sorry, Okay, So Clemson
was down sixteen to nothing. I mean I was loaded up.
I don't want to get into numbers here, but it
was a significant one of the larger bets I've made
in the last decade because I was team Trevor Lawrence
and Lawrence has this incredible sixty five yard run. You're

just like, oh my god, this guy. At that point,
I was like, this, this is one of the best
players I've ever seen at quarterback in college. Because again,
I didn't see John l Way. You know, I saw
Peyton Manning, but he wasn't doing stuff like this. This
was a totally different animal. And Lawrence, I mean they listen,
it's a sixty seven yard touchdownrun. If you look it
up on YouTube, you're like, who is this guy? And
(13:48):
from that moment, I was really hooked. You know, listen.
Obviously wouldn't be money, I'm gonna be very excited. But anyways,
I've always liked Trevor Lawrence. I think he's got a
bit of a bum wrap. You know, the whole does
he love football thing. I don't know who started that.
It's definitely out there. It's not that he's not like
it's not like he's Kyler Murray not watching film, but
he clearly like has interest outside football, and I don't
(14:10):
really know what those are. I know he's deeply religious,
but I don't think he wants to be defined as
hey man, I'm a football player. I don't that's the
read I get. I've never met Trevor Lawrence spoken over
my life, but guys who don't want to be defined.
But like, I'll be honest, I don't want to be
defined as sports hot take guy because then you got
to like be on all the time. I don't want

to do that. I just want to be a regular guy.
Talk to me like I'm a normal dude. Right. I
do like to obviously talk about sports, but I'm capable
of talking about other things obviously. Anyway, So, you know,
Trevor Lawrence has had his issues over the years, and
that game against Ohio States. So told me this game
that play in particular, you know, I know they came

back from down. Was it like twenty seven to nothing
against the Charger or something like that in a playoff game.
It just kind of, if Memories Serves just might have
been the defining moment of Trevor Lawrence's career. So far. Okay,
a primetime game island game. Nothing else world. I mean,
there was baseball going on, but come on, this is

a big one against Mahomes and the Chiefs and Andy
Reid and Spagnolo. Right, this is a huge spot. Now
they did he did go to Casey in the playoffs.
I think they got to push. I'm not one hundred
percent sure on that, but again, that was a you know,
the Chiefs playoffs. They don't I'm sorry, the Jaguars in
the playoffs. They're not getting the primetime game. That was

like an afternoon game. And I remember because I was
at you know, the wife Sport Days in January and
some spa and of course I'm just on my phone
watching the game, and so that that's never had. This
felt like a Trevor Lawrence game where you come out
of this like, holy cow, this guy hey let him
down the field, no out of fourteen, nothing deficit. He

fell on the ground twice, got up and ran for
the time. That's grit. That's my kind of guy. And
you know, he looks cool. He's got the chain, he's
got the long hair. He's big, strapping six' five. Guy you,
know like he walks into a bar. Check the ladies
are checking him. Out he just looks cool and to
be really good at football and beat The chiefs in
primetime and now you're four and, one like he's got

everything going. On i'm A Treffor lawrence. FAN i feel
like if he was my, neighbor you, KNOW i probably like,
YO i got the ping pong, table trev come, over let's.

Smoke you know we'd be friendly at any. Rate i'm
happy for The. Jags i'm happy for my fantasy. Team
i'm happy for the three and two in the. Contest
do you know how hard it? IS i instantly go

Jacksonville Jaguars just took down the Kansas City Chiefs. Listen, man,

that game was a little sleepy to start. Then the
Jags peel off twenty one straight and the fourth quarter
was bonkers.

This is kind of where the NFL is right now,
isn't it. I mean a lot of like, uh, it's
not fun, sleepy, boring, plotting penalties, and then all of
a sudden, the fourth quarter just gets crazy. It's crunch
time and people go bonkers. I was on the edge
of my seat. I let out multiple oh my god,

like stand up screen. I mean at the TV. My
family's looking at me, and at one point my daughter goes, Dad,
you bet on the Jaguars. She's only twelve. I was
like yeah. She's like, when did they get good? I'm like, well,
they're not that good. That's the problem. That was when
they were down fourteen to nothing, and of course you
know Trevor Lawrence. Listen, Trevor Lawrence is much maligned. At

some point, I need to do a podcast about Trevor
Lawrence because it's weird when you come in highly acclaimed
starts as a true freshman of Clemson. I think he
won the Natty as a true freshman. What did the playoff?
Every year? The guy was amazing, came in as like
the best prospect basically since Andrew Luck, and he hasn't
lived up to the hype. I believe he has one
playoff victory, so naturally everybody's like, well, he's not that good.

How good could he be? I mean, got let's be real, Okay,
Jacksonville has never done jack squat in the NFL. A
couple AFC Championship games, one with Blake Bortles, and I
think they had one way back with like Mark Brunell
or something. Okay, but mostly the franchise has been a
train wreck. All right, So Lawrence goes there as like

the savior, and I've been this has been a theme
this season, right, the franchise savior is different from a
franchise quarterback. Okay, so Baker Mayfield appears to be the
Tampa Bay Bucks franchise quarterback now. But he didn't. He
didn't come in as the savior. Nobody was like, oh,
Baker's gonna save us. But when the Browns drafted Baker,
they thought he's gonna save us because they took him one. Okay,

Daniel Jones, Hey Giants took him six. Oh that's our guy,
he's our French. Oh he's gonna bring us back to
the promise that we had Eli He you know, got
us two super Bowls. This is our next guy. And
then pretty evident was pretty quickly, you know, I know,
they did get to the playoffs and he beat Minnesota
on the road, blah blah blah. But it was obvious
that they overpaid him and he's not their guy, all right,
And now he goes to the Colts as the backup.

So there's like no expectations and he's crushing it. Trevor
Lawrence has had the burden of expectations since they drafted him,
and he cycled through a bunch of head coaches. I
think Liam Cohen is his third, maybe fourth head coach.
There was Urban Meyer, there was a guy before him.
The last guy was a disaster like it's just been
bad after bad, and Leom Cohen appears to be really
really good time outs at the end, they're notwithstanding. So

it's weird. I personally think Lawrence is good. I don't
think he's like a top five quarterback. I don't think
you could make the case is he top ten? No?
For instance, is he playing better or has he ever
had a better stretch than Dak Prescott when Dak was
like finished what second or third in the MVP? Probably not,
but I'll say this, he's also buried in the deck

at one o'clock almost every freaking week. Meanwhile, Dak gets
all the high profile games, shows up, He's got des Bryant,
who's a superstar. He's now got Cde Lamb. He had
Zekiel Elliott, like he had really good teams. He had
Mike McCarthy, who's a super Bowl winning coach. I know
now he's doing it a shoddy different story, but I'm
just saying, like, Trevor Lawrence, really he's he started twenty

six yesterday, Like that's how young this guy is. And
there's always all Trevor Lawrence singks. Listen, I'm just gonna
go through. Obviously, I'll do plenty on the Chiefs. I
don't want to. Let's celebrate the winners right now, Okay.
And Trevor Lawrence, it's just a wild swing of emotions.
It's like one of these movies where it's just like
you're getting whiplash from all the chaos that's happening around you.

I mean, it's seven nothing. Trevor Lawrence tries to go
over the top on what looked like an aborted push
push tush push. Did you see the guy came up
behind to push Trevor, but instead of just going through
the middle, he stuck the ball up and I think
it was Bolton who knocked it out. And I'm like, Trevor,
what the hell? Chiefs go ninety eight yards or whatever
it is, touchdown fourteen nothing. At that point, I'm like,
we're screwed. It's over Chiefs. They're not gonna give up

this lead. Trevor Lawrence fought brought them back. I listen.
I don't think he was bad. I mean, obviously that
fumble hurt. But he leads him right back down the
field for the touchdown and they go into the half
down fourteen to seven. Trevor Lawrence drives them down the
field first drive of the second half, makes some awesome
throws and we tie it up. Then Mahomes had his mistake,

and it's weird. Nobody I didn't see. All I saw
was praise for Devin Lloyd. I didn't see any jeez Mahomes.
Oh my gosh ninety nine during pick six? How could
he do that? I mean, listen, if that were Trevor
Lawrence said, through that pick, he's getting philayed, absolutely eviscerated
by the innerwebs and pundits and everybody. But it's Mahomes.
So hey, we give we give Patrick Mahomes a pass
(05:26):
because it's Mahomes. He's won multiple Super Bowls. I don't
know how that. I don't know what the statute of
limitations is on. Hey, it's Patrick Mahomes. But but I digress.
So Mahomes throws Devin Lloyd with the pick. Now, obviously
I was holding a Jags three and a half ticket.
I actually had a little JAG's money line, not a lot,
and I had, you know, Brian Thomas and fantasy. But

that Devin Lloyd touchdown was incredible, totally flipped it. Instead
of being down twenty one to fourteen, they go up
twenty one to fourteen. By the way, if you watch
other replay, Mahomes give a hass half effort kind of
diving in and sidestepped him like he was nothing. However,
I'm not gonna lie. I still have some PTSD from
the Emmanuel de Mercado crap Sunday. So as Lloyd is
(06:10):
streaking down the sideline, he's clearly running out of gas,
and Thornton is coming hard down the sideline and I'm
just like, please, bro secure the ball, and you can
see he kind of brings it up and clutches it
as he's crossing the goal line. He was really about
to pass out and he doesn't fumble. No stupid celebration
and the twenty one to seventeen lead, and it was like,
(06:30):
all right, we got this. And then we find out
that Trevor Lawrence's center is injured and they got to
go with this rookie from USC, a seventh rounder. Well,
Spagnolo's is an amazing coach, right, he notices that instantly,
And what does he do on the next time the
Jags get the ball, pressure up the middle, heavy blitz

and Trevor Lawrence rushes it and I think his receiver
cut off the route and Lawrence was kind of pissed,
but nevertheless, Lawrence throws a pick. Chiefs take over and
two plays later. Three months in for a time, and
we're tired. And at this point this is the Swings.
It's like fourteen to nothing, we're cooked, twenty one fourteen,
we got a shot, twenty one all and I'm like, ah, frickin'
it's Mahomes. It's read. They're not losing. But Jags get

held to a field goal twenty four to twenty one,
and you know, Mahomes come. You know they were going
down the field. It was classic Mahomes. Twelve plays, eighty
six yards. He made some great plays. I think there
was an awesome third down conversion. Maybe not no, no,
there was not a third I think it was Mahomes

just kept making these smart runs. By the way, he
did help me win a fantasy match. It felt great
because I'm probably the best team in the league and
the defending champ, and I was looking at two and
three despite starting out two and zero with the most
points anyways, so you don't care about that. Mahomes makes
plays and they lead, and I'm like, oh, great, three
and a half down the tubes chiefs up for There's

no way Trevor Lawrence can pull this off again. These
are the swings now. I don't know if the actual
fan who didn't gamble on this game or have fantasy
is as into it as I am. But I am.
I mean, I'm on the edge of my seat. My
kid had a sporting thing. I was like, Hunt, I
can't pick him up. There's four minutes left. I got
I gotta watch this. I'm practically sweating, you know, And

I get into the games, like we have four months
of this. You know you're not sweating NBA games three
months into the season. I mean, I'm not. I love it.
I'll watch it. I'm watching Wembe highlights and yes, we'll
talk about Lebron in a minute.

the rare mental mistakes the Chiefs usually don't make. So

after the Chiefs take the twenty eight to twenty four lead, okay,
butker kicks the ball out of bounds. That's like, you
can't do that, bro, you're a veteran. Jacksonville takes over
the forty. So now instead of having to go eighty
yards or eighty ish, right, if you kick and tackle whatever,

you only gotta go sixty. That's not bad in the NFL. Now,
they did need a touchdown, But essentially, Lawrence is facing
a third and seven after eating a dumbsack, and you're like,
all right, well, this is a minute left, you know,
and Lawrence throws one of these ropes down the sideline
to Brian Thomas. By the way, it was such a
great pass, just a laser into the arms of Thomas.
(09:43):
He didn't drop it. He has had some drops this season,
and you know, it was a pass. And again this
shows just how much of a loser I am every
Sunday watching. So Daniel Jones was facing the Rams this
same coverage and he threw interceptions on both of these
because he left the ball up in the air too long. Right,
Lawrence throws a laser, the safety is closing, and if
(10:03):
you're watching, you're like, oh my gosh, there's a safety
gonna get there. And no, it's just too good of
a pass right into Thomas's hands. Thirty three yard pickup,
and like, all right, they're in business. And then of
course Jacksonville starts doing Jaguar things like bad timeouts. You know,
instantly you start watching the clock and you're like, oh
my gosh, you can't leave too much time for Mahomes.
(10:25):
If you leave Mahomes three timeouts and forty five seconds,
you're cooked. They're gonna get the field goal. And then
of course it's third and thirteen and you get another rare,
boneheaded mistake by the Chiefs pass interference in the end zone. Now,
McDuffie had a good game. He was mostly locking up Thomas.
But the other corner, you know how the Eagles have
(10:45):
Quinion Mitchell, But cornerback two is kind of a weakness.
Trent McDuffie's very good cornerback two on the Chiefs is
a weakness. I don't even know who the other guy is.
I think it's yeah, I think it's Cook. Oh no,
it's Connor, the defensive back who just you know, he
(11:06):
was a little clumsy and he tried to basically tackle
Brian Thomas in the end zone and they throw the flag,
so you're like first to goal in the one. I
was like, all right, we definitely have this. We're in
great shape Chiefs, you know, not too worried. Maybe we
maybe the jack should just run at once to make
the Chiefs burn a time out, and you know, there
(11:27):
were several options. They decide they're gonna drop back to
pass and that's when Lawrence gets stepped on by his guard. Now,
if you've seen the highlight, if you're a sports fan
list of this, you clearly have Lawrence falls down. He
described it in the postgame interview as sheer panic. So
he tries to get up, falls down again. It was
(11:49):
like Jaguars, what is happening? And then Lawrence gets up.
He says he looked to instantly throw it away, but
in an unbelievable moment of clarity, there was nobody there.
He escapes the rusher, starts towards the end zone, makes
one cut, dives and at that point, guys I mean
it probably you know, it was one of my loudest
(12:09):
screams of the NFL season. I was so geeked for Lorrence. Listen,
I like Trevor Lawrence man ever's first of all. And
I gotta, you know, go back a little bit that
Clemson Ohio State game in the national semifinal when he
was a freshman. I think it was the National semifinal
or was the championship one of those two. I think
I gotta look it up now. But bottom line is,
Trevor Lawrence was facing Ohio State. A lot of perci

you know, those sharp betterers were like, oh, it's gotta
be You've got to take Ohio State here. I was like,
no way, no way, I'm rocking with Trevor Lawrence, who
was just freaking unbelievable that season. And they had really,
really strong wide receivers. It was. It was an incredible team.
And Trevor Lawrence peels off this sixty five yard touchdown run.

He was freaking game.

Yes, yes, yes, it was the championship. Oh my gosh,
I totally forgot about the coach twenty oh no, this
was the semi final. I'm so sorry, Okay, So Clemson
was down sixteen to nothing. I mean I was loaded up.
I don't want to get into numbers here, but it
was a significant one of the larger bets I've made
in the last decade because I was team Trevor Lawrence
and Lawrence has this incredible sixty five yard run. You're

just like, oh my god, this guy. At that point,
I was like, this, this is one of the best
players I've ever seen at quarterback in college. Because again,
I didn't see John l Way. You know, I saw
Peyton Manning, but he wasn't doing stuff like this. This
was a totally different animal. And Lawrence, I mean they listen,
it's a sixty seven yard touchdownrun. If you look it
up on YouTube, you're like, who is this guy? And
(13:48):
from that moment, I was really hooked. You know, listen.
Obviously wouldn't be money, I'm gonna be very excited. But anyways,
I've always liked Trevor Lawrence. I think he's got a
bit of a bum wrap. You know, the whole does
he love football thing. I don't know who started that.
It's definitely out there. It's not that he's not like
it's not like he's Kyler Murray not watching film, but
he clearly like has interest outside football, and I don't
(14:10):
really know what those are. I know he's deeply religious,
but I don't think he wants to be defined as
hey man, I'm a football player. I don't that's the
read I get. I've never met Trevor Lawrence spoken over
my life, but guys who don't want to be defined.
But like, I'll be honest, I don't want to be
defined as sports hot take guy because then you got
to like be on all the time. I don't want

to do that. I just want to be a regular guy.
Talk to me like I'm a normal dude. Right. I
do like to obviously talk about sports, but I'm capable
of talking about other things obviously. Anyway, So, you know,
Trevor Lawrence has had his issues over the years, and
that game against Ohio States. So told me this game
that play in particular, you know, I know they came

back from down. Was it like twenty seven to nothing
against the Charger or something like that in a playoff game.
It just kind of, if Memories Serves just might have
been the defining moment of Trevor Lawrence's career. So far. Okay,
a primetime game island game. Nothing else world. I mean,
there was baseball going on, but come on, this is

a big one against Mahomes and the Chiefs and Andy
Reid and Spagnolo. Right, this is a huge spot. Now
they did he did go to Casey in the playoffs.
I think they got to push. I'm not one hundred
percent sure on that, but again, that was a you know,
the Chiefs playoffs. They don't I'm sorry, the Jaguars in
the playoffs. They're not getting the primetime game. That was

like an afternoon game. And I remember because I was
at you know, the wife Sport Days in January and
some spa and of course I'm just on my phone
watching the game, and so that that's never had. This
felt like a Trevor Lawrence game where you come out
of this like, holy cow, this guy hey let him
down the field, no out of fourteen, nothing deficit. He

fell on the ground twice, got up and ran for
the time. That's grit. That's my kind of guy. And
you know, he looks cool. He's got the chain, he's
got the long hair. He's big, strapping six' five. Guy you,
know like he walks into a bar. Check the ladies
are checking him. Out he just looks cool and to
be really good at football and beat The chiefs in
primetime and now you're four and, one like he's got

everything going. On i'm A Treffor lawrence. FAN i feel
like if he was my, neighbor you, KNOW i probably like,
YO i got the ping pong, table trev come, over let's.

happy for The. Jags i'm happy for my fantasy. Team
