Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. Well, that's right,

(00:23):
way tired buying should be so much to get to.
We might need six hours tonight, We're gonna try to
do it in three. Totally. These playoffs would be a banger,
major decision in the NFL if we got the midnight hour.
We begin with this here in Vegas. There's a story
of a husband and wife team taking a little trip

(00:45):
and the husband is playing blackjack and the wife comes
up to him and says, hey, can I have another
one hundred dollars to play slots? And he says, what,
You've already lost five hundred dollars playing slots. She says, yeah,
but look at you. You've lost over five thousand dollars
playing blackjack. He said, yeah, but I know what I'm doing.

(01:07):
You know, there's a premise in New York. I'm talking
about the Jets. Ever so quickly they had Aaron Rodgers
knows what he's doing, and that Robert Sala didn't. I
got no beef with Sala. I don't think he was
a leader. I think he was a good man and
a good coach, but he lacked leadership abilities. Leadership is
influence based on trust that you've earned. And yes, Aaron Rodgers,

(01:29):
maybe if he hadn't thrown those three picks and missed
the wide open Garrett Wilson at the end of the game,
Sala would still be there. And oh, by the way,
Rogers says, it's patently false that he had nothing to
do with the firing. I don't know if he did
or he didn't, but I don't like the babe in
the woods routine. We're going to get to that later.
We are going to get to that later. I got
a thing or two to say about that, and you'll

(01:49):
have your chance to call in during to bend that hour.
But first give it up to the Dodgers. I said
these playoffs would be a banger. The Dodgers have punched
their tickets to the nlcs. Kyk Hernandez, you know Dave
Roberts said it certain players want the big moment. Well,
actually he does. His post a season career batting average

(02:10):
is forty points above his regular season batting average. I mean,
he's had seventy five playoff games. It's not a small sample.
His ops is over two hundred and fifty points more.
He got the dinger that put the point on the board.
That was all the Dodgers needed. Yamamoto gave the Dodgers
the start they needed. I mean he got roughed up

(02:30):
by the Potters in Game one, but Yamamoto responded Friday night.
He kept San Diego off balanced completely throughout the night,
even though they only struck out two guys. He pitched
the contact, he got it done. Give it up. One
victory away, now one series victory away from going to
the World Series. Meanwhile, the Potters, and we'll get to

(02:50):
them later, they're no stranger to recent play playoff disappointment.
They lost in the twenty twenty two NLCS four games
to one. The twenty twenty NLDS, they did. You know,
I'll tell you enough about the pottery is. We're going
to have a special guest here in about ten minutes
we're going to talk about that, because there's a story
that got pushed under the rug that shouldn't have been

(03:12):
because somewhere along the line, the potteris turned into Savannah
turned into the Savannah Bananas. And as someone who call
who was in the building November nineteenth, two thousand and four,
coming up on the twenty year anniversary of the Malice
at the Palace, I was there. We were doing a
radio remote at ten to eleven pm Eastern time, and
walked in in our final break right when I saw

(03:33):
around our test file Ben Wallace, and it goes from there.
Sunday night, that debaclea Dodger Stadium could have turned into
something worse. Hold that thought. We're going to get back
to that later, all right. One of the reasons the
playoffs are they already are a banger is because of
the teams involved. But I realized you expected the Yankees

(03:55):
and Dodgers to be there, right and by the way,
the Mets have the number one payroll, but you didn't
expect them to be there. As a matter of fact,
as I sign on now, it's October twelfth in most
of my listening audience, and that happens to be the
four month anniversary before the Grimace threw out the first
pitch at June twelfth on Citi Field, when the Mets

(04:17):
went to bed the night before, they were twenty eight
and thirty seven on the season. Grima strows out the
first pitch, then they go sixty one and thirty eight
to close out the campaign. They sneak into the playoffs
in the last day of the season, and prior to
June eleven, Francisco Lindor was hitting two eleven. Now to
begin to understand this improbable season, well you can't. You

(04:41):
can't explain things that happened in the universe. You can't
explain things that happened in baseball. All I know is
I am here for it. On May twenty ninth, the
Mets fell eleven games under five hundred. During that ten
to three loss of the Dodgers. Remember that reliever jo
He Lopez tossed his leven too the stands, in frustration,
walked out the mound. He had a poor performance. Manager,

(05:02):
Carlos Mendoza, you didn't like it so much. Now, Lopez
set up for the game, But don't regret it. I
think I've been looking like the worst teammate, probably in
the whole fing MLB, But the Mets agreed. Lopez was
designated for assignment the following day, and that was the
low point eleven games under five hundred, an ugly loss
of player tantrum if you follow things like fangrafts. The

(05:25):
Mets playoffs chances at that time were eight percent, along
with a one point seven percent chance to reach the NLCS. Oh,
by the way, you heard me say last week, the
rulers have gotten eliminated eight times, eight times in this
new playoff format. Or actually in the last twenty years,
every team that eliminated them got to the World Series. Yes,

(05:46):
so the season start this monumental flop. Remember the twenty
twenty three the Mets finished twelve games under five hundred
in spite of a three hundred and forty three million
dollars pairrol nearly seventy thousand or seventy million more than
the Yankees. But I gotta tell you the Mets, they're
there about their business. The season wasn't going well. What
do they do? They trade Verlander and sures her before

(06:07):
the trade deadline. That was supposed to be their shortcut
to success. Not so more, not so much, they fired
Buck Showalter. Mendozo becomes the fifth manager in six seasons.
Late May and the Mets looked like a little flop,
expensive failure. There were people were giving them heat because
they didn't sign Showy Otani or trade for Juan Soto,
and the crowds were screaming and angry. Now, I wouldn't

(06:31):
exactly call this a Cinderella story, because yes, the Mets
owned the game's number one payroll, But as hot as
they were after June twelfth, they didn't secure their playoff
berth until the last day of the season, a Monday
doubleheader in Atlanta that was rescheduled because of Hurricane Aleen.
An incredibly wild back and forth game, a ninth and
aed two run homer from Lindor another clutch hit from

(06:52):
the superstar shortstop, and that clinched their ticket. Then, after
this relentless push to a wildcard berth advancement in the postseason,
well that was on life support again last week when
they trailed two nothing in the nineteen in Game three
of the wild Card Round against Milwaukee, the Mets had
two runners on base down to their final two outs
against Devin Williams. Yes, the NF the National league's best closer,

(07:17):
and guess what, the polar bear mid polar bear like
ar bat InHand smashes the most improbable three run home run,
with the headline next day in the New York Post,
the Miracle Mets. Now the original Mets are in that
Moniker by beating the juggernaut Baltimore Orioles, who'd won one
hundred and nine games out here back in the sixty

(07:38):
nine series. That was their first winning campaign after seven
years of complete futility. The Mets won one hundred games
in nineteen sixty nine to sixty nine. Mets were never underwater, though,
like the twenty twenty four Mets, who in many ways
frankly are more miraculate miraculous. I am here for it already,
can't wait for Sunday. This is going to continue to

(07:58):
be a banger of playoff series because of the matchups,
because of the teams involved, because of the backstory. Let's
face it, all, right, you look at the you look
at the time, the timeline and the storyline surrounding the
Mets and the Dodgers. Let's go back to Tuesday night.

(08:19):
The Dodgers are down six to one. They put a
microphone in front of Dave Robert's face. He says, well,
we're not really ready to wave the white flag. They
battled back six ' five lost. The game wasn't a
good loss. No such singers a good loss. It's like
a good kidney stone. But I'll tell you what the
Dodger showed me something. Walker Bueler really showed me something.

(08:40):
The Pottery has barely hit a ball the infield in
that big run inning. Guess what those are? The final
runs the Pottery has scored the remainder of the series,
twenty fourth straight scoreless innings. And when you heard Keiky
Hernanda say, we don't give an f that's a famous
old baseball axiom for guys who go into slumps, and
finally they realize, Okay, I'm no longer worried about the
score award my batting error. I'm not afraid to make

(09:01):
it out. I'm not afraid to fail anymore. I just
don't give an affleminical play. The Stodgers team is dangerous,
and believe me, so are the Mets. We're in for
a treat. But a story that got shoved under the
rug that our guy Jason Stewart articulated so well the
other day. I want to bring it to you because
it's a conversation worth having. Are we gonna be Bingo

(09:21):
Along's All Stars? Are we gonna be? You know? Are
we gonna be the Savannah Bananas some Twilight Zone baseball team?
Where was baseball when all these shenanigans are going on?
People get hurt. When you get fans involved and things
go crazy. It's not a good look for the game.
It's not. And with all their respect to the patter

(09:43):
is because they've done some things, but they've never won anything.
I've been to the World Series twice in eighty four
ninety eight. They're total of one to eight. Never won
a thing. Frankly, their baseball's version of the Clippers. Yeah,
I'll just leave it there. Bernie Frederwick be a lyned

Speaker 1 (10:18):
All right, back on the Bernie Frale Show Fox Sports Radio.
We are comedy live from the Tarack dot Com studios
here in Las Vegas. We'll take up to two am Pacific,
five am Eastern. We're just getting started. It's welcome in
a gentleman. You hear him weekdays from noon to two
alongside Doug Gottlieb with Key Cogg on that show. He's
the right hand man for fifteen years. The guy by

(10:40):
the name of Jim Row. He's a baseball officionado with
Dodger Officionado's welcome in Jay stud Jason Stewart, Jason, how
are you, buddy? Hey Bertie, how you doing doing great?

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Now?

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Imagine you're doing quite well. Additionally, I let's dive right
into this because you advanced narrative Tuesday. You drew a
juxtaposition between the showboating Padres and the dignified Dodgers and
what transpires Sunday night, and I somehow it managed to
fly under the raidar and be swept under the rug.

(11:13):
And I don't want to stay your thunder. So, as
you would say, Jason, take it from here, buddy, I will.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
And by the way, I appreciate the intro of being
a baseball and Dodger of the Shonado. I'm a huge
Thunder fan who has been playing and coaching and witnessing
baseball for decades, and to start with tonight's win, a
two nothing shut out of the Podres and I just

(11:44):
want to remind Podrey fan that your team did not
score a run for the past eighteen innings. In fact,
I think it's more like twenty four innings. Twenty four, Yes,
but you would think that a team that talked all
that junk and did all of that peacock game would
have found a way to at the very least compete

(12:06):
for the final eighteen innings of this series, which kind
of goes to the point I think that we're going
to discuss, Bernie. There's a reason why there is a
decorum to baseball. There's a reason why there is a
respect of the game that you really don't see in
other sports, because there is so much failure in the

(12:27):
game that it's easy to be humbled. I think ball
players know that they're an zero for fifteen away from
being benched or being sent down to the minors, and
I think every single baseball player kind of lives with
that paranoia or that anxiety, so the kind of pop

(12:47):
and circumstance that we saw from the Padres this year
or this series Game two. I guess it was highlighted
the I guess the way the game is kind of
going and showing up the other theme and pimping home
runs and kind of shoving it in the other guy's face.
It's really been off putting for me. And I guess

(13:09):
I might sound like an old man that's screaming to
get off my lawn, but I think I share those
sensibilities with a lot of fans of the game. You know,
Baseball has said we want to we want to outreach
to the younger fans. We want to make the game faster.
We want to have these dimder lights with every home run,
we want to have music between Indians. We got to

(13:31):
appeal to the younger fans at the expense of what
alienating your diehard fans.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
So it kind of thought, Jason, because hold that thought,
because you've advanced the narrative to a place that should
have been discussed more fervently. Because the Padre has chose
to engage the fans directly, and some some fans started
to throw things on the field, and as someone who
was there in the building the night of the Malice

(13:59):
at the Palace. I know that there can be spontaneous
combustion that could happen. That is why I think your
narrative is so important because to your point, where was
baseball in the league as it pertains to the fan
experience and the players not engaging the fans that way?

Speaker 4 (14:19):
Correct? And I don't know, I'm guessing you felt the
same way in Game two when you saw Profar go
into weftfields fans and rob Mookie Betts of a home
run and his first instinct, Bernie, was to show up
the fans and I sension the Dodgers as opposed to

(14:39):
showing the battle of the umpire like ninety nine point
nine percent of outfielders for the history of the league
have done. That was kind of a turning point for me.
And him taunting the fans in that manner was so
off putting. You saw that the broadcast thought it was
a home run. You saw that Mookie thought it was

(15:00):
a home run. And then the next day he hit
actually hit the home run and didn't know what it
was because we didn't know Profar was playing with us.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
But like that moment in time to me was.

Speaker 4 (15:12):
Like, wait, am I losing it? Am I getting too
old for this game? Because that really threw me off,
and I knew it threw the fans off, and that
became a combustible situation starting right there, Tatis doing all
of his grab his manhood and Manny Machado throwing the

(15:32):
ball towards the dugout and all that stuff kind of
led to this combustible situation where the fans were being
demonized online and on Twitter and on TV. The fans
were being demonized for acting out and throwing that ball
towards Profar And not once during the week did I
hear one Podre say, you know what, maybe we had

(15:56):
something to do with that, Maybe we shouldn't have taunted.
I didn't here Major League Baseball come out and say
that there was going to be any potential punishment if
it escalated again. I was really kind of put up
by the entire thing. And you know what, Bernie, that
column by Ken Rosenthal that got him, I guess annexed
or ostracized from the Padres dugout this past week. That

(16:20):
column kind of confirmed everything that we're talking about right now.
Ken Rosenthal was kind of expended by the Padres act
as well. Did you see that?

Speaker 1 (16:29):
I can't lie. I didn't see the article, but you
bring a great point in that. First of all, you
drew a juxtaposition the other day on Doug Show between
the Padres, the Dodgers, who are buttoned up, businesslike and who
actually won world championships versus the Padres who really are
still kind of wannabes, have never won anything, and they

(16:49):
celebrate and jump up and down and not know that
they do it. It's one thing, it's one thing to celebrate,
we see TV celebrations, but when you directed to the
other team in disrespect the fans and you you jump
up and down like a kangaroo like Jerkson profile did. Now,
I think you're degrading the game, which is I think
the point you were making exactly.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
And I you know, I'd hate to say because it
sounds biased. I'd hate to say that the Dodgers do
everything correctly and they play the game how I want
the game to be played. I mean, we saw Key
k Hernandez tonight after the game. That's sure, That's sure
was a class we saw Ceo Hernandez. I think he
spent the entirety of his ball flight at home plate,

(17:31):
watching watching the home run, I'm not saying the Dodgers
do it perfectly, but I will say on hole, Bernie,
the Dodgers make up whatever it is, whether it be
their experience or they're frankly they're paid better, or I
don't know what it is, there's just a class higher
than the Padres. And I'm talking from the angle of

(17:53):
they know how to play the game. They beat the
crap out of the Padres in Game four, and they
just did it with their head down, and they did
it in the stoic fashion. And I was proud of
them for that because they could have in that moment
kind of dropped themselves to the Podres level and kind
of showed them up. But they kind of showed the
Podres look, not only are we going.

Speaker 5 (18:14):
To beat you, but we're going to.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
Show you how to win as opposed to the way
you won in Game.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Two, Todd with Jason Stewart, you're hearing Weekday Snonty two
with Doug Gottlieb, Jimmerome's right hand man for fifteen years.
I think it's a cultural thing, Jason. The way the
Dodgers scout developed manage from the top down. It's a
dignified organization. It's been, you know, the number one team
in Los Angeles, frankly for almost seventy years now. The

(18:40):
Potter's that where the Dodgers want to be. I've compared
them to Baseball version know, the Clippers. What are your thoughts,
because I think that Pottery's want what the Dodgers have
and they can never seem to get it.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
No, that's exactly what it is. I mean, you hear
the analogy all the time that they're the little brother.
Earlier in the week on the Doug Gottlieb Show, we
talked about the greatest rivalries in baseball. I'm still going
to put the Dodgers and Giants at the top, and
it'll always be the Dodgers and Giants given the history
and the bitterness between those and the Padres are always
just kind of this annoying gnat for Dodger fans and

(19:14):
the Dodgers. But the Padres so badly want to be
a rival of the Dodgers, so badly that it was
just so overt and showing in this series. You know,
the Padres got the leg up on the Dodgers this year.
They kind of had the Dodgers' number, and they came
into this series thinking, not only are we going to
beat them? And I thought, I actually thought they would

(19:37):
win the series by the way the Padres, but'na, we're
gonna stick their nose in the dirt because of all
these years of just kind of disrespecting us, or not disrespecting,
but dismissing us. And that was kind of their plan.
And again games two and three that it was just
their act and the way they chose to go about

(19:58):
winning those games. It was such an offense to my sensibilities.
But the same thing in the same way, Bernie, like
I was thinking to myself, am I getting too old
for this game? Because I don't want nothing to do
with that.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
Jason, No, no, listen, there have been hot dogs from
Ricky Henderson to Statue Page to the Gas House Gang.
It's not a cultural thing, it's not an age thing.
It's a dynamic. But those guys were having fun. The
Podres went over the edge. Even years ago, people can
probably found this headline. And eighty two, the Dodgers got

(20:30):
into a heated series with the Giants. The Giants did
some of that, and Dusty Baker said, beat us, but
don't embarrass us. It's a famous quote. So look, you've
got the last word? What what's you've got the last word?
The Dodgers have the last laugh. What's the message you'd
like to give to Major League Baseball and Rob Manfred
and the pottery is because they're listening to.

Speaker 4 (20:51):
Well, I will say this. I wrote on Twitter tonight
that the team that plays the game the right way
won the series. And I guess the right way is subjective.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Now.

Speaker 4 (21:05):
I think there are a lot of things in the
game that I still really embrace and I love. I
love the nuances of the game. I love the strategy,
and I love the personalities. But there are more and
more things every year that are starting to tick me off,
and I think Rob Manfred and Baseball should be aware
of that. Yeah. I mean we have a term in radio,

(21:26):
are p ones?

Speaker 1 (21:27):
Right?

Speaker 4 (21:28):
Do you want to be the host that alienates your
p ones? Your number one listeners? Like, I don't know
if baseball it's on what is that the tipping point?
It's kind of at that point now where it's like,
are we going to completely alienate this massive audience of
baby boomers and Gen xers to try to appeal to

(21:49):
a young audience that may never ever be a fan
of us, like they're almost rolling the dice. So yeah,
I guess the last word is Rob Manfred's got to
kind of pay attention to not only his sport and
the technicalities that people argue with the umpiring and whatnot,
but the way the game is playing and maybe put

(22:11):
some punishment in place for taunting or maybe because something.
As we're going to take it all the way back
to this. The mouths at the Palace is what went
through my mind as well in game two. If you
if you taught the wrong drunk fan at the wrong time,
then you got mayhem on your hands. And there's there's
no rule in baseball against a player interaction with fans.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Jason, good stuff, Buddy, Good luck to your dadg your son,
and night. Will tee it up again and enjoy your week.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
In pal all right, Bernie.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
Talk to him, that is Jason Stewart. You hear him
to Monday through Friday noon to two with Doug Gottlie,
Dan Byer Iowa, Sam, I must listen. Jason knows his stuff.
He's he cares about the game of baseball, He's passionate,
and he raises an issue and will address his a
little bit later, and we'll get you get the callers involved.

(23:03):
Coming up. I want to delve just a little bit
further into the fan player aspect of this and what
can happen and who who do you hold more accountable,
the players or the fans. But first let's go back
to our guy, the chef, Kevin Wire.

Speaker 6 (23:19):
Yeah, Bernie, we're feeling great out here in Los Angeles
right now.

Speaker 7 (23:23):
Here's the pitch Tanti swings chopping a third.

Speaker 8 (23:26):
Back head picked by her None, there's the dowin that
dole in promo. Fireworks go off and.

Speaker 9 (23:34):
Straight away center field as the Dodgers shut out the Padres,
getting back to.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
That game that was Steven Nelson on FSR affiliate kley
C and the Dodgers radio network, Yoshi Nobo Yamamota going
five scoreless as the Dodgers holding the Padres scoreless for
the last twenty four innings of this series, winning it
to nothing in Game number five to claim the series
three games to two. So the Dodgers, after winning Game

(24:02):
four in a bullpen game, get another four scoreless innings
from their bullpen to relieve Yamamoto tonight. So the NLCS
will begin a Sunday evening. It'll be get the Dodgers
and the Mets, and that'll get going at eight o'clock
Eastern time. And in college football, number sixteen, Utah taken

(24:25):
down by Arizona State twenty seven to two nineteen. So
the Sun Devil's picking up a big win as they
now move to five in one on the season. Northwestern
over Maryland thirty seven to ten, and UNLV Bernie, they're
bouncing back after that loss, so they're now five and
one on the season, two to oher in the Mountain West,
a big blowout win at Utah State fifteen to thirty four.

(24:48):
But the Aggies really haven't struggling. They're now just one
in five ozho and two in Mountain West. Play Becker
to you, Bernie.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
All right, good stuff, chef. All right, we're twenty seven
minutes away from the midnight hour. From where I sit
here in Las Vegas, it's twelve midnight Pacific time literally.
From where you sit, it may be twelve midnight Pacific
time literally or figuratively, but anyway you slice it, we
have turned this into quite a segment thanks to the

(25:17):
great callers. Eight seven, seven, nine, ninety six sixty three,
six nine, So start rolling up in the bullpen. We'll
have two topics tonight. The first one has to do
with what happens Sunday night at Dodger Stadium. Listen, we
are coming up on the twenty year anniversary November nineteenth
of the mouse at the Palace, complete mayhem between the
Detroit Pistons and the Indiana Pacers. I was there. You

(25:39):
can't imagine how outrageous that whole event was. It set
the Indiana Pacers back twenty years. It's never recovered. It
never recovered. It made Detroit fans like John Green, a
household name, who threw an empty beer cup hit Ron
our test and they had and he went up in
the stands, and by now you've seen it, if you
haven't been on Mars. That's not the only incident of

(26:00):
that nature. You know. The Minnesota Vikings had a playoff
game against the Dallas Cowboys many years ago, and the
fans didn't like a call and somebody threw a bottle.
You used to be able to bring bottles into the
stadium back in the day. Hit a referee by the
name of Armon Teresian in the head almost killed him,
was lying on the ground bleeding. You could find that.
So when you observe the ponderies in their enthusiasm, which

(26:23):
I don't have problem with, but when you turn into
the Savannah bananas, or you turn into a clown show
and you start mocking the fans and dancing and provoking
the fans to at such point they're now throwing beer
cans and baseballs on the field. Now you're talking about safety,
You're talking about spontaneous combustion, the same kind of combustion

(26:44):
you had that ignited the mouse at the Palace from
nothing from a spark to complete mayhem. Just google it,
read about it, look at the video. You won't believe
your eyes. You don't think that could happen again. As
a matter of fact, that is the first of our
two topics tonight that I want to hear from you
folks on in the mid nine hour eight seven seven,

(27:04):
nine to nine on Fox. We've seen things happen. We've
had multiple NBA incidents recently, players going into the stands,
people shouting the wrong thing. Just the other day at
a college game, a Michigan coach came over to the
sideline or came over to the stands and accosted to
fans at the University of Washington. I don't know what
they said, but it must have been pretty bad because

(27:25):
it was on video and the coach said, you better
shut the f up or you're gonna get fed up.
I don't know what's going on, but it doesn't take
that much more to like that. Fuse now any other
thing too. This was a playoff game, a freaking playoff game,
and the Potters are acting a fool. By the way,
knock yourself out, Potters. But I don't see you doing

(27:47):
this against Pittsburgh. I don't see you doing it against
the Seattle Mariners. It's a Dodgers thing. So here's what
I want to ask the folks in twenty four minutes.
Who do you blame? The fans reaction or the player's provocation?
Who do you blame? I'll just tell you right now.
I blame the players because the players have to be

(28:07):
held at a higher standard because they're the product. And
you can't indict fifty three thousand fans when it's just
a handful. But some of those folks been hooked up
to a blender since noon. They want to have a
good time. They want to have their favorite cream dement
and their beverage, eat a couple of dogs and screaming, yelling,
cheer and blow off steam. The fan is short for fanatic,
you know that. So this is what we want to

(28:29):
talk about. Who do you blame more? The fans or
the players? And oh, by the way, could you envision
another mouse at the palace again? Because I'll tell you
right now I could you never see it coming until
it's too late. I want to hear from on those
two subjects. By the way, folks, fans football fans, be

(28:52):

Speaker 1 (29:46):
We're back on the Bernie Frattle Show Fox Sports Radio.
We are coming to live from the Tarac dot com
studios here in Las Vegas. We are sixteen minutes away
from twelve midnight Pacific time from where I sit, literally
in sixteen minut and it will be twelve midnight in
Las Vegas from where you sit, perhaps the same situation
or at least twelve midnight literally, which means we have

(30:08):
the midnight hour eight seven, seven nine nine six six
three six nine eight seven seven nine ninety six six
three six nine. And the first topic will we'll have
to do will involve what we just talked about, and
that is fan behavior, player behavior. Could there be another

(30:29):
mouse at the palace? Look what happens on an out
of Dodger Stadium. Who do you blame more the padres,
the players or the fans. The players provoked it, the
fans reacted. Who do you blame more? I blame the players,
because why you've got to hold them to a higher standard.
They're the product. But fans oil. Their shirts aren't completely
clean either. And again, November nineteenth marks the twenty year

(30:50):
anniversary of the mouse at the Palace. If you don't
think it can happen again, check yourself for your reck yourself,
because it can, it can, and it might. All right,
let's talk about part two. You know, there's an old
saying you can buy dance lessons, but you can't buy
a rhythm. Such is the case of Robert Sala. I

(31:10):
like Robert Sala. I think he's a good man and
a good coach. I know his roots on our is
from in Dearborn, Michigan. How they teach football There all defense, defense, defense.
Where Robert Salo went to high school. His team won
the state championship two years before he graduated. And I
was actually at the game, and you know they I
don't think they passed twice all year. They ran the ball,

(31:31):
played defense, they blocked, they tackle, They hit you hard.
That's Sala. Does that translate to being a head coach,
well apparently not. I think Robert Sala was a good
defensive coordinator. He'll be in demand next year when he
decided to return to football if he does. But he
reached his Peter principle. There's a certain leadership, there's a

(31:54):
certain leadership aspect it takes to be a head coach,
and I thought he had multiple miss steps over the
past couple of years, especially when Aaron Rodgers joined the Fray.
And I don't care what anybody says. I don't think
they got along. They might have coexisted. I gave you
what you know, boomer size, and had to say at

(32:14):
length on my Saturday show last week, and here you
have it, Okay, thanks to Aaron Rodgers throwing three picks
and missing a wide open Garrett Wilson, there's no more
Robert Sala simple as that they losing London Robert Salica
and it was clunky. He's preparing Monday, and Tuesday he's fired,
and then we're right out of the gate. Aaron Rodgers

(32:36):
goes on Pat McAfee's show, you know, gives us the
Babe in the woods routine. Come on, man, really we're
really gonna do this. You're really gonna peen my shoes
and tell me and train. And I'm not saying you here,
I don't know what you had to do with what,
but you know what, this is what I do know.
The irony of this leaves me incredulous because we were

(33:00):
that all the Jets needed was a quarterback. That's all
they needed. They have everything else when they do have
a damn good defense, including this year they shut down
that Vikings running game. They could have beaten the Vikings.
They should have beaten the Vikings. They climbed back from
the deficit only to fall back into a hole. Because
you know what, when I look at Aaron Rodgers, Now

(33:22):
you know Nolan Ryan used to joke around at the
end of his career. He'd say, I still throw as hard,
the ball just doesn't go as fast. That's Aaron Rodgers.
This is a guy who deep down knows he can't
quite do what he used to be able to do it.
He's got to find a way to come to terms
with that he's not making plays. Rogers was accurate. Arm
talent ability is much ability as anybody to play the position.

(33:46):
And what I saw Sunday look like a drunk crossing
an icy Street, and that's why you have what you have.
The Jets are two and three, but here's the kicker.
Let's go back a year the Jets were two and three.
Who is the quarterback, Zach Wilson. They couldn't wait to
get Zack Wilson out of town from the minute he
got there. It was a recipe for failure. He was

(34:07):
in the wrong situation and Zack Wilson lit it up
in the combine. Maybe not the most mature kid in
the world, but he went into a bad situation. And
yet they were still two and three. So a year
ago now, the Jets were two and three under Zach Wilson.
They're two and three under Aaron Rodgers. Last year, at
this time, Zack Wilson was completing sixty one point one

(34:29):
percent of his passes. Aaron Rodgers is completing sixty one percent. Yeah,
you want to split hairs? Why not? Because we were
told all the Jets needed was a damn quarterback. Zach
Wilson was completing his He checked out his yards per
attempt were six point one. This year Aaron Rodgers yards

(34:52):
per attempt six point zero. Okay, you want to split hairs, Yeah,
I do so Zack Wilson I had the same record
two and three, a slightly better completion percentage, a slightly
better yards per tenth. And by the way, last year,

(35:12):
the Jets in that juggernaut offense was averaging eighteen point
six yards. Checked that eighteen point six points per game
this year. Can't make this stuff up. The Jets under
Aaron Rodgers, well they needed was a quarterback eighteen point
six points per game? What are we doing here when

(35:33):
the Sam Hill's going on?

Speaker 10 (35:34):
Now?

Speaker 1 (35:35):
Last season, I'm told the Jets didn't really want to
fire Robertsala, partly because they weren't really sure they'd find
someone better to replace him. And apparently at that point,
at that point, Rogers, you know, wasn't dapping them up
and pushing him away from Hugs and you know, having

(35:56):
arguments about cadence and trips to Egypt. But a lot
happened after last season, fast forward to the mini camps
and the OTAs and the trip to Egypt, and the
clunky press conferences and the oddball sideline demeanor, and then
last week about the cadence. So it's news to me.
Now you've got five games and Jets owner Woody Johnson decided, well,

(36:18):
Sala is not good enough anymore. He fired him Tuesday,
two days after the team failed to two and three
after losing to the Vikings in London. And of course
the irony is, if the Jets beat Buffalo Monday night,
they'll be tied for first place. So say hello to
Jeff Ulbert will be the interim coach. Of course, I
would venture to say, anybody who is signing up to

(36:43):
be the New York Jets head coach is going to
be the interim head coach if you get my drift.
In three plus seasons solo in a opping twenty and
thirty six, the Jets never sniffed the postseason, despite having
one of the NFL's best defenses over the last two
years and frankly their whole staff. They got a mulligan

(37:03):
last year because four plays end of the season Aaron
Rodgers suffered an achilles injury that left a quarterback quotation
of Zach Wilson, Kim Boyle, and Trevor Simeon. Yes, the
Jets somehow won seven games last year. They were seven
to ten, but that offense was a disaster. That offense

(37:24):
couldn't score with a women's prison with a fist full
of fifties, and behind the scenes, Robert Sala and his
PR team didn't exactly win over many fans in the way.
He just sort of handled things the way. His demeanor was,
the countenance on his face. He often privately pointed out
that other successful coaches around the league, well, they also

(37:46):
struggle if you don't have the quarterback you want. Oh okay,
so if you're drowning, you look next to being the
next guy's drowning. I feel much better about myself. I
never thought Salah handle that particularly. Well, he's not a
front man, and you know it. Then the last two
weeks happened. Rogers a quarterback. You lose to the Broncos
at home, and you lose to the Vikings, and the

(38:07):
offense is struggling a way you might as well. You
might as well close your eyes and pretend Zach Wilson
still a quarterback. Same issues. They look unprepared, they do
not look crisp, they're not on point, they're not on schedule,
they commit too many penalties. There seems to be multiple
questionable decision making situations throughout the course of the game.

(38:28):
And oh, by the way, there's a total lack of accountability.
That add it all up, put it into a blender.
Woody Johnson says, that's it, Robert Salad, no more. We
have to find a way to salvage this season. And
if you don't think that's a big deal, it's the
first time Woody Johnson has ever fired a coach midseason
in the twenty five years he's been Jets owner. According

(38:49):
to a source, Woody Johnson before the season, and I
saw him on talk shows. I saw him on news
channels saying, this is a roster you ready to compete now,
and we've never had a good roster. We've never had
a roster this good. Jets haven't been in the playoffs
since twenty ten, you haven't had a winning season since
twenty fifteen. Money against Real. All right, So there's my question.

(39:14):
Aaron Rodgers, the babe in the Woods routine, oh not
Patley falls. Do you believe eron Rodgers. I'm not saying
he made the decision, but do you believe he had
nothing to do with us? Yes or no? And Part
A of the Midnight Hour Your Calls eight, seven, seven, nine,
and nine on Fox The Dodger situation with the fans

(39:36):
on Sunday night. Who do you blame the fans or
the players? And oh, by the way, do you think
there could ever be another malice at the Palace? Again,
as we come up on the twenty year anniversary in
of Ever nineteenth, those are your subjects eight, seven, seven,
nine and nine one Fox keep it locks. They've been
that hour on the Bernie Frattle Show Fox Sports Radio.

(40:00):
That's right, you heard the man. Bernie Fradle Show keeps
rolling right along. My name is Bernie Frownle. We are
coming you live from the tarat dot com studios here
in Las Vegas, Fox Sports Radio. Tire act dot com
will help you get there and on Max's selection, fast
free shipping for your Ownazer protection and over ten thousand
recommended installers tarret dot com the way tire buying should

(40:20):
be a couple of highly charged subjects. Tonight you saw
the fan player interaction sent it at at Dodger Stadium.
Who do you blame the fans or the players? Could
there ever be another mouse at the Palace? And Aaron Rodgers?
Oh Patley false?

Speaker 11 (40:34):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (40:34):
Well, okay, do you believe Aaron Rodgers or not? We
waste no time. It's the midnight hour. All right, let's
light this candle without further ado skid it rolling. Lynn

(40:54):
from San Diego, the belly of the Beast, joined us
to start it off tonight. Good evening, Lynn.

Speaker 12 (41:01):
Good evening, Bernie doing great, sir, It's always good to
hear you.

Speaker 13 (41:04):
Man.

Speaker 5 (41:04):
You're brighten up my night.

Speaker 1 (41:06):
Thank you, sir.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
Hey, uh huh.

Speaker 12 (41:08):
I'm getting right into your question. So, in case you
don't know by now, I'm a Class A driver drive
for Alberson's Arns. I've been driving thirty five years. So
the reason I say that is listen me up. So
let's say cars are the fans, and as the trucks
are out here, we're the pros. So as the trucks,
pros need to be pros in order to avoid disaster.

(41:31):
We get cut off all day. Imagine if we got
mad and start sideswiping people, how long you think will last.
It'll be tragedy out here. So look, look, professionalism is
my point, goes a long way. So you always have
to carry yourself on a high standard when you're considered
to be a professional at anything you do, because if

(41:52):
you don't, oh boy, that's had me. Old Jackson safe
from my Jurassic Park.

Speaker 5 (41:58):
Hold on to your bus.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
You know, that's actually a pretty damn good analogy. I mean,
we all have to hold ourselves to a higher standard
as professionals in life, regardless of your profession. You know,
class never goes out of style. Respect never goes out
of style. So it sounds like you feel like the
players are more culpable for lighting the fuse? Am I wrong?

Speaker 4 (42:18):
No, You're not wrong.

Speaker 12 (42:19):
That's exactly what I'm saying, because think about it. If
Profar goes in hits the ball like he's supposed to
turn his back, get the ball back in, the fans
are over it. But this idiot sits there jumped up
and down and up up to him and waves his finger.
I wanted to slap him through this TV screen.

Speaker 14 (42:40):
And it's the playoffs. It's the playoffs. I've seen these
types of histrionics in all sports, but never, honestly, never
in the playoffs. Finally, Len, appreciate your starting us off tonight.
Do you believe Aaron Rodgers? Do you believe Aaron Rodgers
that he's telling the truth based on what he said.

Speaker 1 (42:59):
The other day?

Speaker 12 (43:00):
No, No, I'm really it's almost like the case when
that coach up in Demmer was messing with Russell Wilson like,
I don't believe nothing about Aaron.

Speaker 5 (43:10):
Rodgers no more.

Speaker 12 (43:10):
I can't starrying that can't stand this dude, man. I'm
over him, that team and him all of that stuff.
They're a freaking dumpster fire. They're worse off than they were.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
You know you're not wrong. We're gonna find out Monday
night too. Or Hey, appreciate you, Lynn, stay safe out there,
my man. Appreciate you. Uh, Mark from Laurel. What state
is Laurel in? Mark?

Speaker 5 (43:32):
Thancuse me, Bernie, It's.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
Just Mark from Laurel. What state is Laurel in?

Speaker 5 (43:36):
My friend Lawreln's is in Maryland. It's a summer Maryland.

Speaker 1 (43:40):
Okay, beautiful, Okay, Well, welcome in Mark.

Speaker 15 (43:42):
Thank you so much, Bernie. Bernie, I just want to
congratulate you. I enjoy talking to you because I think
you do it the right way. You know, there's a
lot of sensationalism with broadcasters sports journalism, and I like
the way you stick to the basics. Okay, now I'm
gonna ask you a question. I can comment on all

(44:03):
three because I'm a sixty year old man, so I
saw the miles in the palace.

Speaker 5 (44:07):
It made me sick. I'm gonna start off with Major
League Baseball. I blame NLB first and foremost the the
the hierarchy, because they are the steward to the game.
You know, people or players get away with what you
allow them to do. Sportsmanship is the key to this,

(44:30):
and this is a cancer and a toxic. I've seen
the culture change.

Speaker 13 (44:35):
It is sickening.

Speaker 5 (44:37):
I grew up playing all three sports and whether you
want to lose, you go shake the guy's hands and
you act like you got some class. Class.

Speaker 15 (44:45):
Thing's spelt with a K, and this is what it is.

Speaker 5 (44:50):
It's in facialism.

Speaker 15 (44:51):
It's Jerry Springer type type a culture and it's sickening
and it will.

Speaker 3 (44:58):
Destroy the sport.

Speaker 5 (44:59):
I've seen it in all aspects of sports, and I
hate it every time I see it because the players
are think they're bigger in the game. Anytime you think
you bigger than the game, you gotta go.

Speaker 1 (45:11):
You're a really good point too, Mark, Let's not bury it.
This on some level has been enabled. I think at
some point baseball has to at least make some sort
of statement because you're talking about fans, you're talking about
an experience and entertainment medium. You're talking about safety. Before
I let you run Mark thoughts on Aaron Rodgers. Do
you believe him? Yes or no?

Speaker 5 (45:31):
Hell though excs my language Aaron Rodgers. Let me tell
you something. My basic thing is why all these.

Speaker 15 (45:41):
First round quarterbacks because they're set up to failure. Aaron
Rodgers was behind Brett Farm. Okay, so he learned the game.
The game has got to slow down.

Speaker 5 (45:51):
You know, all these players.

Speaker 16 (45:52):
Need to take a year or two.

Speaker 15 (45:54):
Management needs to This is my broad philosophy.

Speaker 5 (45:58):
Management needs to say, hey, you know.

Speaker 15 (46:01):
They need to talk to the the the whatever theme
they're on, to say, hey, guys, we got to take
a year off. This guy has got to sit and
learn so the game can slow down. Okay, there's so
many guys, but the game. You know, I grew up
when players, when quarterbacks were taken, they sat down a
year or two. Okay, so anyway, either way, Aaron Rodgers,

(46:26):
he came in. Now he's turned into a toxic cancer.

Speaker 5 (46:31):
He thinks.

Speaker 15 (46:31):
I don't like the way he thinks he's bigger than
the game. His ego its slowed down. I think he
got that guy fired. He had to I think he's
bigger than the game. I don't like this version of
Aaron Rodgers. I love early Aaron Rodgers behind Brett Farr
because I thought Brett Farr hung on too long.

Speaker 5 (46:52):
Okay, we put stuff on, man.

Speaker 1 (46:53):
I appreciate you. Listen. Don't be a stranger. We do
this every Friday. I want to get these other calls.
But you made two great points. You don't trust Aaron Rodgers.
I agree with your premise he believes he's bigger in
the game. I do believe that I do. And you
brought up some great points about enabling bad player behavior.
Do you mean to be short with your mark? But
I just want to make sure we do all the
callers tonight. And you don't be a stranger. Jerome and Charleston.

(47:17):
How you been Jerome? Been a minute?

Speaker 3 (47:19):
This fine? I can't stand that guy. Jason students how bouge?

Speaker 1 (47:24):
Oh whoa whoa whoa? Don't no, no, stop stop stop, Jerome. Jerome,
Jason is my guy. You may not agree with his opinion,
but he articulated it pretty damn well. And what I
want to hear from you, Jerome a a let's talk
about this situation. Sunday night. Who do you blame the
fans or do you blame the players? And then secondly

(47:45):
blame you blame the fans because the.

Speaker 3 (47:48):
Only seem to have a problem with black players for
some kind of reasons. It was not Lebron Jams. Now
it's jeorgeon Colfark. Who else are they gonna talk about?

Speaker 15 (47:57):
Match?

Speaker 4 (47:57):
Huh?

Speaker 3 (47:58):
You always seem to have a problem with the black.

Speaker 1 (48:00):
I'll be darned. I'll be darned, Jerome. I was at
the game one night and Dodger Stadium and threw an
orders a guy named Pete Rose? Are you kidding me?
All right? So you blame the fans? How about Aaron Rodgers?
How about him?

Speaker 17 (48:11):
Hey, look, we're talking the hell out of Aaron Rodgers.
You might have missed that part, Jerome. I think he
missed that part, Jerome. We're beating the crap out of
Aaron Rodgers tonight.

Speaker 1 (48:20):
Now, do you know, Hurt Cool?

Speaker 3 (48:23):
The Orner is an idiot? Okay, when you work for
an owner to owners an idiot. I'd never liked what
he just I don't like him at all.

Speaker 1 (48:30):
I don't like Well, do you believe okay, fair enough,
do you believe Aaron Rodgers is telling the truth. He
had nothing to do with the departure of Robert.

Speaker 3 (48:38):
Sawa, who likes to check.

Speaker 1 (48:41):
Okay, my question, Jerome, I'll give you one last chance.
Yes or no, Aaron Rodgers, do you believe him? Yes
or no?

Speaker 3 (48:48):
I don't did not want her, but say, hey, you
know what he knew when he was de five when
they told him he was d five staph when he
knew Yeah. Look, I don't know about scuttle button and
in the locker room up know what? But hey, the
owner is the one who writes to check. So the
duck stops with him.

Speaker 1 (49:06):
All right, Joe, call back next week. Man, I just
appreciate you when you call Jim from Massachusetts area. Jim,
you're turned away in on this Michigos tonight. Hey, what's
going on? Bernie?

Speaker 5 (49:17):
It's the fans fault because whatever alcohol is involved, you
gotta go there. I'll say, all right, I'll say seventy
five percent the fan and twenty five percent the player.
Because you've got children playing baseball now, it's not like
your old school baseball. They get they get big salaries now,
so it's like, you know, they think they're better than everybody.

Speaker 4 (49:39):
Else.

Speaker 5 (49:39):
And that's good for them, you know, they got a
union and everything like that. But you know, like this
stuff never happened in old school baseball, you know, so
I think you.

Speaker 1 (49:48):
Did, Jim. Jim, you're a you're you're a very learned man.
I'm sure you've heard of the gas House game. I'm
sure you've heard of at your page. I'm here. You're
sure you've heard of Ricky Henderson. I'm sure you heard
the Pete Rose. There have been guys who were flammed,
who played the game now not necessarily to disrespect the
other team. And I think that's where the Pounderies crossed
the line. That's just you know, I know it's against

(50:09):
a lot of practiceychollege with their license, but I accept
your premise because even though Profar made an ass out
of himself, he did there's no debate on that. The
fans didn't have to do what they did. And you know,
you can't really indict fifty three thousand fans because there
was only a few. But anyway, continue on.

Speaker 5 (50:28):
Jim, and they know that they know that, and they
know that there's nothing you can do about it. You
don't have enough security or anything else like that. But
like the malice in the palace. I mean, look what
happened there, you know, I watched that. They should have
known better. But the fans never should have came down
on the floor. They tried to fight with six ten
guys away in two twenty five either And what was

(50:49):
the issue there? Alcohol?

Speaker 1 (50:51):
Sure, of course I was there that night very much.
So it always is it always there's always alcohol. But
they make a lot of money. And your sales man,
you've been to a game lately at a couple of
beers about twenty bucks.

Speaker 5 (51:04):
Now, well, now that you're now that you're talking old school.
I remember in a Bruins Saint Louis game when they
pulled Derek Sanderson out of the penalty box into the
stands and started pummelom. Cashman and Hodge went up on
the up on the remember.

Speaker 1 (51:21):
The fan pulled out the shoe and started hitting. He
pulled out a shoe and started hitting.

Speaker 5 (51:25):
No, that was that was another one this day with
dangling a rubber chicken down into the penalty box on
Derek Sanderson. He pulled it out of their hands and
threw it down. All of a sudden, they pulled him
into the stands started pummelum Cashman and Hodge went up
there on the stands and there's a cock pit pumela
and saying, oh, we gotta cover, we gotta cover it.
And Cashman laid his shere wood right over his head.
It was priceless, but it was in Madison Square Garden.

(51:47):
It was in Madison Square Garden where they started beating
on the Bruins in a glass. There was a check
or something like that, and then some drunk fan reached
over and took the stick from a player, and the
Bruins went over the stands to go get it, and
Peter mcnap went up the stands and beat the guy
with his own shoe.

Speaker 1 (52:06):
And don't you think that could happen again? Don't you
think that spontaneous combustion could happen again. I'm not saying
it's going to tomorrow, but I got to tell you, man,
it doesn't take that much to light that fuse. I
was there in the mouse.

Speaker 5 (52:19):
But it hasn't happened in Saint Louis, and it hasn't
happened in mass Quick got because of you know, the alcohol,
and they got more security and everything like that. And
that's the whole point. They didn't have enough security at
the palace, and then when it did happen, the cops
didn't show up me when they were calling them, they real.

Speaker 1 (52:36):
Quickly, Jim, because I want to get to the other callers.
Do you when Aaron Rodgers makes the statement that if
you believe he had something, he doesn't like the comments
about Robert Salas firing that he had anything to do
with he said, quota's patently false. Do you believe Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 13 (52:51):
No?

Speaker 5 (52:51):
I don't. I mean, I'm not a Patriots fan, but
you never saw Brady, you know, out in front of
a mic all the time during the season or in
in the the way Rogers does. It's all about Rogers.
And he's only won one championship. Brady's won six, so
you know, and that was like a century ago, so
it's all on Rogers. He's just a big baby.

Speaker 1 (53:13):
I don't disagree. Jim's appreciate you as always. We're going
to get to all the callers. Nobody go anywhere or
off to a rousing start. I'll then Mark, Jerome and
Jim getting the start of the night. James, Hilberto and
Andrew you are up next. Don't go anywhere. Hang right there,
eight seven, seven, nine and nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine nine six six three six nine. We're just

(53:34):
getting started. Man, another rockous midnight hour. Do you believe
Aaron Rodgers? Do you have anything to do with the firing? Asala?
And who do you blame for Sunday nights Francas between
Dodgers fans and the Potters players? You blame the players,
you blame the fans. Do you think there could ever
be another mouse at the palace? Let's hear from you.
I'm Bernie Fraddle. We're coming to your line from the
Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio Tireck dot Com studios. Keep

(53:55):
it locked. You're listening to the Bernie Frattle Show on
Fox Sports Radio. All right back in the Bernie Frawder Show,
Fox Sports Radio. The midnight Hour continues. The rock has
been that hour. The callers have been great. Remember the
most boring conversations are when everybody agrees. We don't have
to agree, and we haven't been a lot tonight. That

(54:18):
makes it even better. Appreciate the originality, the spontaneity, and
the emotion from the callers. James from Los Angeles, You're
up next. Welcome back in James, how are you?

Speaker 4 (54:29):
What's up?

Speaker 16 (54:29):
Bernie? A still in LA and I haven't haven't made
it to Guardina yet, but I'm still out here.

Speaker 1 (54:35):
I'll be waiting for you, man, Man, will be waiting
for you. Said some nice things.

Speaker 16 (54:38):
Okay, go ahead, man, Hey Man, I've been loving your
show the last couple of months. I'm glad I found
you and joined on. And after listening to you, you
know I told you before I wouldn't I didn't really
know you that much. But now listening to you, I
can swear you know where all the bodies are buried.
And you could have added some stories to that movie
Casino that we don't know about. I'm convinced to that.

Speaker 18 (55:01):
Man.

Speaker 16 (55:03):
I love your show, and keep up the good work.
As for the fans, uh, The first time that I
remember UH seeing the fany actually was when Matt Max
Maxwell went into the stands back in the day when
he was playing for the Houston Rockets, hurd of Maxwell
and UH attacked somebody because they said something. I guess

(55:25):
his daughter was sick and they brought it yes to
it and he was able to have access. And I thought,
right then and there, it's too easy for the fans
and the players to interact. Hockey has that big shield,
that big glad. I'm not really a hockey fan, but
they have that big glass going around it, so you
kind of keep them out. But baseball, football and basketball,

(55:46):
you know, at any time they can, they can go
over to the fans and you can have like the
melice in the palace time.

Speaker 1 (55:51):
Did you blame the fans more for what happened sendin
it or the players? What do you lay us down?

Speaker 16 (55:56):
I think I think the fans are more responsible. Anytime
you can throw something to somebody or something like that. Uh,
you know the players, I mean, hey, they get paid
to do what they're gonna do. If they want to
shout and everything. Okay, you can brew them and everything,
but you know, doing the stuff that they did, you
could throwing baseball.

Speaker 3 (56:12):
And all that. Come.

Speaker 16 (56:13):
Now, I blame I blame the shame James Fair.

Speaker 1 (56:15):
Okay, that's well crafted point. I accept that. Now. Aaron Rodgers,
you heard his statements they to day.

Speaker 13 (56:21):
Do you believe him?

Speaker 16 (56:23):
Absolutely not. Like the greatest actor of our time, Robert
De Niro said, and meet the parents, that circle of trust.

Speaker 5 (56:31):
Anytime you mess.

Speaker 3 (56:32):
With that circle.

Speaker 16 (56:33):
Uh, He's gonna react to it.

Speaker 1 (56:37):
I love it. Remember that you a poteat fucker.

Speaker 16 (56:42):
Exactly exactly that circle of trust. Anybody in this circle
talking about whoever it is, from the offensive coordinator to the.

Speaker 5 (56:51):
Tight end.

Speaker 16 (56:52):
That was passive prime. He brought him in, he catered to.
Those are his guys. And even though it doesn't look
like the guy got demoted anyway, I still think you know, he.

Speaker 3 (57:03):
Didn't like him.

Speaker 16 (57:03):
He didn't like them for the get go, he got
you know.

Speaker 1 (57:06):
Around all right, great call, James, So don't be a stranger.
My man Gilberto from San Diego, Horre buddy, come with Bernie.

Speaker 16 (57:16):
To mo the end with the end.

Speaker 19 (57:19):
Listen, Bernie, I got a couple of things. First of all,
can somebody please tell the patress that he was a
five game series and not a wildcard series.

Speaker 1 (57:29):
Well, it's it's it's a it's a playoff series. It's
the playoffs.

Speaker 19 (57:33):
Yeah, they played the wildcard last week. It was two
out of three. This was three out of five.

Speaker 1 (57:40):
I'm not sure where you're going with this, big fellow.
Fill in the blank.

Speaker 16 (57:43):
Okay, this is where I'm going.

Speaker 19 (57:45):
The offense was m i a in game four. In
Game five, but the thing about Sunday. Last Sunday, I
wasn't remember.

Speaker 1 (57:52):
They didn't score the final six runs of Game three.
After that six run out, first they led sixty one,
then there was the Grand Salami. They didn't score the
final six innings of that game on Tuesday. They got
shut out Wednesday and shut out Friday. I wouldn't dwell
much on that, but let's put it this way. You know,
they kind of went down without much of a rump.

Speaker 19 (58:14):
Yeah, the only the only player that showed up was
j Darvich. But going back, yes, Sunday, I was at
the game, okay, and we thought I was at the game.
I was because I was behind complaints, so we thought
we said it was a home run. With that everybody
sat it was a home run and Profard got it.
And there's a history with Profi. He's an instigator and

(58:38):
he always does that.

Speaker 16 (58:39):
He's had an issue with will Smith during the year.

Speaker 19 (58:42):
He had an issue at the beginning of the game.

Speaker 15 (58:44):
Doing one of the at bats with.

Speaker 19 (58:45):
Will Smith, and then in he went back to that
fan that he took the ball from and gave him
a ball and basically told him you couldn't get the
good one. Here's a gift for you, and that's what happens.
And then all he'll breaks loose because some fans started
throwing balls a couple of balls, not ask him, but

(59:08):
he made a big deal about it.

Speaker 1 (59:10):
And then because you did, you agree. Then, at least
on that night, the players were more culpable than the fans.
Although I think it was James brought up a good point.
You can boo, but you shouldn't be throwing things.

Speaker 16 (59:22):
So you agree, I agree.

Speaker 19 (59:25):
But they like to instigate their an emotional team, and
that's what that's what.

Speaker 1 (59:30):
I don't see him doing it against Pittsburgh. I don't
see him doing it against the Seattle It's a Dodger.

Speaker 16 (59:35):
Thing, exactly.

Speaker 1 (59:37):
There's something to this. Hey real quickly, Roberto, and first
of all, good good stuff, as always, Aaron Rodgers. You
heard what he said. You believe or not.

Speaker 19 (59:47):
I believe him as far as I can throw him.

Speaker 1 (59:51):
He's all for five now, No one believes him. No
one will go ahead, continue on.

Speaker 19 (59:56):
No, I stopped, I stopped respecting. I love players. I
know it takes a lot to be a professional football player,
and he's had a very very very good career. But
for the last five years, he's Aviva, he's a bratt,
he's a winer, and now he's taking the Jets down
in planes with him.

Speaker 13 (01:00:17):
The guy.

Speaker 19 (01:00:18):
I mean, I cannot believe what happened. I'm a sala
might not be the best coach, but he did it
to Lafleur in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (01:00:26):
McCarthy too, he actually yeah. And then after McCarthy was
gone all loved him. So hey, listen, we got so
many to get to. Alberto, and don't mean to be short.
Don't be a stranger man. I always appreciate hearing from me.
Thanks you, Alberto. Andrew from Bakersfield, welcome back in.

Speaker 5 (01:00:40):
How are you good?

Speaker 4 (01:00:42):
Are you good?

Speaker 5 (01:00:44):
Good?

Speaker 20 (01:00:44):
I'm a Dodgers fan. Okay, so I think when Mookie
Bets hit it to left? Can you clear up the
Major League Baseball rule? Is there a line that goes
up from the wall up into infinity, that is the
ball crosses that the fans have like one hundred access
to it?

Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
Well, they actually do. I know, I do know. The rule.
The bottom line is once a player crosses over under
the stands, it's fair game. And uh, you know, he
caught the ball. The fans were actually pretty good. They
didn't try to slap it out of his hand like
you know, or they interfere like Bartman did.

Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
Right.

Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
So I hope that answers your question. I'm not sure
where you're going with that, but I hope that answers
your question.

Speaker 20 (01:01:29):
Can you slap the ball out of his glove if
he catches it in the in the cross?

Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
I've seen it. I've seen it happen. You saw it
happen in Baltimore in the nineteen ninety six playoffs when
that kid not Yeah, so you short answer, and by
the way, people don't do it. Don't interfere with the
ball and play even if it's flying into the seats.
Go ahead, Where are you going with this? Andrew?

Speaker 20 (01:01:48):
I got to say the profar fooled me once. Okay,
I think the players were more culpable.

Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
I do know, because when he's turning around, jumping up
and down like a kangaroo, mocking the fans and said
of getting the ball back to the infield, getting in
his pitcher's hands so you can you can get out
of the inning, he's making a damn fool out of himself,
and he directed it at the fans. That's my beef
and the other guy.

Speaker 20 (01:02:16):
There's kids in the stands, all right, so it's fair,
that's right, Clean it.

Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
Up, right, you saw what happened? All right? Do you
believe Aaron Rodgers or not? Andrew?

Speaker 20 (01:02:26):
Okay, have you heard him talk? He's completely monotoned. I
do not believe him at all.

Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
Yeah, you bring up a really good point. There's something
about his ratest speech in the way. It seems disingenuous,
doesn't it.

Speaker 20 (01:02:37):
Yep, his parents should shake him my shoulders.

Speaker 1 (01:02:40):
And say, well he would, but he's a stranger from
his family. I don't think he talks to his parents.
Could be wrong. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Speaker 20 (01:02:47):
He's a mia. Have you seen Aaron Rodgers because I haven't.

Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
All right, Hey, good stuff, Andrew, appreciate you man. Doug
from San Diego. I'm not sure if you've heard from
you in the midnight hour before. Is this your first time, Doug?

Speaker 13 (01:03:01):
I did give you in a little bit a couple
of weeks ago.

Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
But time.

Speaker 1 (01:03:07):
Welcome back. Good to have you.

Speaker 13 (01:03:08):
Go ahead, well burn baby burn love your show man.

Speaker 1 (01:03:11):
Really, thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:03:12):
Uh.

Speaker 13 (01:03:13):
You know, if the fan reaches in and interferes with
the fielder catching a flood like that would be fan interference, right.

Speaker 1 (01:03:20):
No, no, no, no, not not if it's in the stands.
Not if it's in the stands. Did you reach over?
Once you reach you over the fence or over the stands,
It's it's fair game.

Speaker 13 (01:03:29):
What about all those things where the guys are reaching
over at the Yankee Stadium, hits it and the guy
got fanned interference. They gave him a home run or something.

Speaker 1 (01:03:36):
I don't remember that play, but let's let's stick to
the basics here, my friend.

Speaker 13 (01:03:40):
Uh, you know what, Yeah, the fans in La are bush. Okay,
let me just explain that to you. You know what,
what's wrong with having a little fun. The guy caught
a fly balls with's a home running. Break it back.
I have a little fun. He didn't make it fun
of anybody who's going to be a fan by that,

(01:04:00):
unless you're an idiot. And then if somebody throws a
ball at them and he overreacted, Jesus, what if it.

Speaker 5 (01:04:08):
Hit him in the head.

Speaker 13 (01:04:09):
You know, it's ridiculous. And notice the fans of San
Diego did nothing even close to that. The fans in
LA were completely out of handed, out of line, you
know what. So we you know, maybe the baseball gods
punished the pod race for their bad behavior by shutting
them out for twenty four straight innings. And that's crap too.

(01:04:33):
That's just a game. So this thing about the fans
versus the players, I don't know Baseball's two sacra sank Bill, Bernie.

Speaker 5 (01:04:42):
Doug, we do that.

Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
So I know you are coming from the position of
a pottery stand and that's fine. I accept your opinion.
I understand because where you sit is where you stand,
and from your vantage point. I think you articulate your
point well. Whether or people agree with it, that's not
the point. You made your point quite clearly. And by

(01:05:04):
the way, extra points for using the word sacricying. Nicely done. Hey,
real quickly, do you believe Aaron Rodgers or not?

Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 13 (01:05:11):
Let me think is that pope? Guys still counts?

Speaker 1 (01:05:14):
Here we go, so Rogers is O for seven. I
love it, man, all right, I appreciate you.

Speaker 21 (01:05:22):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:05:22):
Don't be a stranger, Doug. Want to hear from you
again and listen here. There you have it, folks. I
think Aaron Rodgers' reputation is well deserved. Hell, if you
told us it was gonna be eaighty and Sunday tomorrow,
you probably, I'll go buy three top codes Fernando from
here in Las Vegas. Welcome in.

Speaker 5 (01:05:35):
How are you hey?

Speaker 18 (01:05:37):
What's going on?

Speaker 5 (01:05:38):
Hey?

Speaker 18 (01:05:38):
Calm down, Dodger fans. You haven't won one thing yet
and that COVID title does not count. Okay, does not count,
So slowly roll Dodger fans again. One nothing anyway. I
believe the fans when Profar took the field right away,
when he took the field in the first inning, their town,
he sucks and everything else giving him the singer it's

(01:06:00):
Amy f Ford. So I blame the fans. Half of
them are drunk.

Speaker 5 (01:06:04):
Than the idiots.

Speaker 22 (01:06:05):
Okay, okay, Aaron Rodgers, have you hung out with him
for tory four hours?

Speaker 18 (01:06:11):
Bernie, no, sir, I have He's cool and misunderstood.

Speaker 5 (01:06:16):
You guys don't know. You don't know him.

Speaker 1 (01:06:18):
Okay, what are we missing? Okay, wait, wait a minute, now,
I accept the fact. I accept the fact. Hold on, Fernando,
you stay on the line. I'm not sure in what
capacity you did it or where you did it. I'm
not going to go down that road. And I'm glad
he was gracious to you. And you don't want to
hear me start name dropping because I've been around him
all I've been in all the locker rooms for thirty years.

(01:06:39):
But the point of the matter is you had a
good experience with him. I accept that, But that's in
Apple's an interest thing, my friend. We're talking about a
situation here where there is a body of work, of
body language, oddball comments, side eye looks. He did it
to Mike McCarthy, he did it to Lafleur, and now
he's done it to Robert Salah. If you're telling me

(01:06:59):
he had no input whatsoever? What if Woody Johnson called
him up and said, I think, what do you think
about me letting him go? No, he could have said,
I believe he could have saved his job. I don't
think he wanted him there. Just my two cents. You
got the laugh word, Fernando.

Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
You guys don't know. You don't know what.

Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
Don't I know what? Don't I know?

Speaker 18 (01:07:16):
The palace in the mouse I blame common Unions, that
little dummy. Who do you blame common Unius? This referees
tomm Unius Jr. That little dummy.

Speaker 1 (01:07:26):
Wait a minute, he had nothing to do with ron
artescoing and laying on the desk and a drunk fan
named John Green throwing a cop that I was. I
was in the building that night. I accept your premise,
Fernando A. You blame the fans fair enough. Some people agree,
some people don't. I accept your opinion. Secondly, you see

(01:07:46):
a different side of Rogers. You think he's being sincere.
So far, you're the only one anything else. All right,
Thanks for I appreciate you, man. I am not contesting
Fernando because of his opinion, because his opinion is valued.

(01:08:08):
What I am findly curious about is if his experience
with Aaron Rodgers is applicable to what we're seeing here
in a business environment and sort of the general body
of work that has been on display Aaron Rodgers vs.
A VI, the media, et cetera. Tim from Florida, don't

(01:08:29):
go anywhere. You're up next. First, we got to go
back to our guy, the chef, Kevin Wyrett with.

Speaker 6 (01:08:33):
The latest, Yeah, Bernie, the big story of the night.
Major League Baseball National League Division Series, Game five and
the series and the game number five go to the
La Dodgers.

Speaker 7 (01:08:45):
Here's the pitch. Tanti swings chopping a third back head
pick by Bernandez.

Speaker 8 (01:08:50):
There's the the going brother, fireworks go off and straight
away center field as the Dodger shut out the Padres.

Speaker 6 (01:09:02):
Get back to that game that was Steven Nelson on
FSR affiliate KLi C and the Dodgers Radio Network LA
shutting out San Diego to nothing, Yoshi Nobo Yamamoto going
five scoreless. A bullpen would take it the rest of
the way, and the Dodgers for the last twenty four
innings of this series, holding the Padre scoreless as they

(01:09:25):
claim it three games to two. They will advance to
the NLCS to face the New York Mets. Game one
set for Sunday evening, eight o'clock Eastern time out in
Los Angeles. We do have another game five though in
the Major League Playoffs a LDS Cleveland and Detroit. That
game has actually been moved up to one o'clock Eastern
time because of inclement weather. And in college football, we

(01:09:50):
did have three games tonight, one of them involving a
ranked team number sixteen. Utah goes down Arizona State, winning
it on their home field twenty seven to nineteen. Northwestern
goes on the the road to beat Maryland thirty seven
to ten, and you n LV with a blot win
against Utah State fifty to thirty four.

Speaker 1 (01:10:06):
Thank you Murray, Thanks Chef Tim, and Florida you're up
in the next Thanks for your patients.

Speaker 23 (01:10:13):
Hey, thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
How you doing, bet sir? Good? Thank you good.

Speaker 23 (01:10:17):
First of all, I just want to let you know,
like I appreciate your show because you're calm, a reel
screams on the other shows scream like ah, and like
your calm, you take everybody's opinions and that's appreciated.

Speaker 4 (01:10:31):
Thanks.

Speaker 23 (01:10:31):
That's the first of all.

Speaker 4 (01:10:33):
So let's go to the.

Speaker 23 (01:10:36):
The San Diego Padres.

Speaker 4 (01:10:38):
The kids just need to grow up.

Speaker 23 (01:10:40):
They're just they're gonna be great, but they just they're
like the little kid that got buoyed a little bit
and they're just trying to like make a make make
themselves well known. And then they're on that stage.

Speaker 1 (01:10:56):
Yeah, and you wrong, You're not wrong. I mean they
want what the Dodgers already have. They can't. They're they're
they're as good as the Dodgers, but they haven't been
able to get over that hump. So that's my way
of interpreting that. You you believe the fans or check
that the players are more culpable as to what happens

(01:11:17):
Sunday night.

Speaker 23 (01:11:18):
They're eventually going to grow up.

Speaker 1 (01:11:20):
I think, yeah, No, no one can argue that as
far as Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 23 (01:11:28):
So Aaron Rodgers, so let me ask you this. I
don't believe him because like, did he have his COVID test?

Speaker 1 (01:11:40):
I should have brought that up to Fernando.

Speaker 11 (01:11:42):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:11:42):
But and again yeah, yeah, So what you're essentially saying
is he'll he'll shift his narrative to fit the mood,
and he'll play fast and loose with the truth. Is
that fair?

Speaker 4 (01:11:51):
It's whatever his truth is, whatever his truth.

Speaker 3 (01:11:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:11:56):
And and and that was back that when he was with.

Speaker 23 (01:11:58):
Green Bay, Like when he was backing up Brett, he
kept saying, oh, well, I'm I want to do this,
But he kept saying back then, even then when he
was a backup, he kept like doing little things to
like stab at Brett because he.

Speaker 3 (01:12:15):
Wanted the job.

Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
He's very subtle with his passive aggressive behavior. I just
it just feels that way. And you know what, We've
given him everything he's asked for. He's got the defense
he wanted out on Tazaar, you name it, right, And
now I think I feel like Robert Salad was a
speed bump. So we're gonna find out Monday night if
they don't beat Buffalo. I think it's gonna issue, is

(01:12:38):
gonna get real. You got the last one with him?

Speaker 23 (01:12:41):
Yeah, I just think that with him, it's whatever his
word is is. He's going to narrative to to that's
what the real thing is, and it's not really the
real thing.

Speaker 1 (01:12:52):
I know what you mean. I know what you mean
by saying that. Great, all right, thanks to him. Don't
be a stranger real quickly. I want to read a
tweet from a gentleman named p e ri I t
o says Bernie that Pondre fan has selective memory. In
twenty twenty two, a fan at Petco through a full
beer at Cody Bellinger while he was catching the ball
on the field. The players invited the behavior by their antics.

(01:13:17):
I think that's true. They invited the behavior, not excusing
the fans, not excusing the players. But I feel that
the players are more culpable because they're the product, and
you would think they would hold themselves to a higher standard.
Eight seven seven nine to nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine nine sixty six three sixty nine, We're not done.
Still time to get in on the midnight hour. Who
do you blame for Sunday night's frakes between the Podreis

(01:13:38):
and the Dodgers. Do you blame the fans or do
you blame the players for instigating it? Or who instigated it? Secondly,
Aaron Rodgers, after Robert Salow was fired, said, if you
believe he had something to do with it, those reports
are patently false. Do you believe them? Well, it's about
ninety nine percent the people don't. Fernando did, and that's okay.
I want to hear from people. I want to dictate

(01:13:59):
your answer. What you gotta say. I'm Bernie Frattle. We're
company line from the Las Vegas Foxforts Radio TIREC dot
Com Studios. Keep it locked. You're listening to the Bernie
Frattle Show on Fox Sports Radio. We're back on the
Bernie Frattle Show, Fox Sports Radio. The midnight Hour continues.
Let's go back out to the phones. Trevor from Sherwood

(01:14:20):
joins us. Welcome in, Trevor, How are you.

Speaker 4 (01:14:23):
Hey, Bernie? How are you doing young man?

Speaker 1 (01:14:25):
Thank you, sir, good you.

Speaker 21 (01:14:28):
Munch of bulls all around. Let's say, let's start with
the baseball first. You know, everybody is more immature these days,
and MLB needs to and the managers need to tighten
the grip. I know that fans get a little bit
unruly and just I don't know, kind of like the

(01:14:51):
Malice in the Palace. We were talking about that. To
really solve the problem, we got to let the fans
know that this stuff is unacceptable. And I know that
the players are pros, and I know that they have
to have a certain amount of card. They're making millions
of dollars, but they're all testosterone fueled alpha man and
there's going to be some of this kind of stuff

(01:15:13):
going on. If you're going to solve the problem before
it starts, you've got to make sure the fans know
that you get unruly, you're ejected.

Speaker 1 (01:15:23):
Your money as you know, truevor they make those announcements
before every contest, whether it's the NBA or you know,
the you know, don't interfere with the game in progress.
That kind of stuff continue on, though, But you're not wrong,
because I think your point is it's enabled. Go ahead.

Speaker 21 (01:15:39):
Yeah, I get it, and they say this stuff, but
it's like any PSA you listen to from Schoolhouse Rock
all the way to you know what we got. Now
you've got to demonstrate it. You've got to say, hey, security,
that is going to get your.

Speaker 15 (01:15:54):
Butt and get you out.

Speaker 5 (01:15:56):
And that's the way it goes.

Speaker 1 (01:15:58):
And oh, fair enough, fair enough, you have a zero
tolerance and you know you start hauling. Yeah, are you
not wrong? I yeah, he listened. I just want to
make sure I get to the other caller real quickly.
I want to give you your ten cents on Aaron Rods.

Speaker 21 (01:16:13):
All right, thoughts Aaron Rodgers, I know why nobody believes
in Rodgers. Nobody said why. The man has demonstrated his power.
He can do ayahuasca, he can go to dark caves,
and everybody loves him. It's like he's Gretchen Whinmure giving
his accolyte doritos.

Speaker 1 (01:16:28):
Everybody just bows down to it.

Speaker 21 (01:16:34):
He's demonstrated he can get his buddies on the team,
he can fire coat, he can get.

Speaker 1 (01:16:39):
All this stuff done.

Speaker 21 (01:16:41):
Nobody believes him because he can do whatever he wants
and really will goots Aaron Rodgers. So, and he's going
to have a legacy of crud when he blows it,
because he just doesn't have it anymore. And then it's
gonna wonder, well, why do we bow down to this
guy for so long?

Speaker 1 (01:16:58):
All right? You know what? Fair enough, excellent call at Trevor,
and it's because they're desperate to win a championship. Desperate
people do desperate things. Appreciate you a lot there, Trevor.
Lenda from Kalamazoo the final word tonight on the whole ordeal.

Speaker 11 (01:17:13):
I uh, good morning. Well, first of all, Bernie, good
to hear you used to listen to in Detroit and
found you in now. It's great. As far as the
Peaceball situation, yeah, I'm uh. I think it's the players
have to be held accountable, but the fans do too.
I agree with what Trevor just said. I I couldn't.

(01:17:35):
I don't think I can add much more to that. Uh,
it's just it's it's sad for the game. It's it's unsportsmanlike.
It's you know, we're supposed to go to these games,
no matter what sport you're talking about, to have fun,
enjoy the game. Yeah, you want to, you know, tease
the player a little bit, move a player once in
a while if he makes a bad call, that's fine,

(01:17:57):
do an umpire. But you don't get you know, don't
get personal, you don't throw stuff on the field, you
don't use profanity. Just go out and have yourself a
good time.

Speaker 1 (01:18:09):
Well said, I mean idealistic, yes, but sure. Unfortunately about
ninety eight percent of the people do just that. Do
you believe Aaron Rodgers? Yes or no?

Speaker 5 (01:18:19):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:18:20):
Okay anything else?

Speaker 3 (01:18:23):
Uh?

Speaker 11 (01:18:24):
Well, all I can say is, uh, what do you
think of our tigers? Should think they got a chance.

Speaker 1 (01:18:29):
School absolutely got a chance. They got tok trek school
will go on Saturday. I expect, I do expect the
Tigers to win that game. And then you saw what happened.
I covered the six team that noboe talk could beat
the Yankees, and they sure did. And then well got
to this. You know, we'll take you one at a time.
Appreciate you checking in. Yeah, ain't no party like a

(01:18:50):
Detroit party.

Speaker 4 (01:18:51):
So you have it.

Speaker 1 (01:18:52):
We just had some tremendous costs tonight. Don't necessarily have
to agree with all of them, but I appreciate, uh,
the raw emotion and whatever was coming out of people's
mouths tonight. They meant it, Okay, it wasn't for effect.
And I think the majority is that if I read
it correctly that most people feel the players were slightly

(01:19:14):
more culpable as to what happens Sunday night at Dodgers Stadium.
And almost nobody believes Aaron Rodgers except for Fernando, And
that's okay. We don't always want to agree. Coming up,
I want to get the crew involve. We got to
get these guys weighing in, and we got to get
to college football Week seven preview. It's I'm telling you
between Texas and Oklahoma, Penn State US see right on

(01:19:34):
down the line, there are some fabulous, fabulous matchups on Saturday.
As things start to take shape. And what do we
learned last week, we'll share it with you. Remember Bama
went down? Keep it locked. You're listening to the Bernie
Frattle Show on Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, that's right, you
heard the man. Bernie Fraddle Show keeps rolling right along.

(01:19:55):
My name is Bernie Frattle. Were company Lyingfroth tarret dot
Com Studios here in Las Vegas, Fox Sports Radio, tyreq
dot com. We'll help you get there. An unmatched selection,
fast free shipping for your road, answer to protection and
over ten thousand recommended installers. Tyrack dot com. The Way
Tire buying should be. I want to thank all the
callers outstanding tonight as always in the midnight hour. Really

(01:20:15):
appreciate you the callers or what make this segment fly.
But I want to get the crew involved as well.
We got some unfinished business. Dodgers, Padres, you saw the frakas.
Who do you blame more? The players of the fans?
And Aaron Rodgers said he had nothing to do with
the departure of Robert Sala. Do you believe him? You
believe his statement? Patrick, you got the floor, my friend?

Speaker 10 (01:20:37):
All right, Well, Bernie, the question of do I blame
who do I blame more? Between the fans or the players? Well,
while neither neither of them are squeaky squeaky clean, as
we've all seen, I do. I'm not going to play
on on the fence for this.

Speaker 1 (01:20:53):
I do have a legit.

Speaker 24 (01:20:54):
Who's more at fault one? The players are.

Speaker 10 (01:20:57):
Because fans, we know fans are very you know, fanatics,
to kind of go back to what you said earlier,
they are fanatics. Uh, they're also you know the drinking
in that section. It's just like, of course there there're
gonna be a bunch of knuckleheads, right, But players you
gotta hold yourself to that you know standard, Like you
can't be inciting that.

Speaker 24 (01:21:16):
That's that's not smart.

Speaker 10 (01:21:18):
It's you know, you you're you're on that pedestal, like
don't don't go down to to the dummies that are
you know, maybe having a little bit too much fun,
you know what I mean, Like just hold that stuff
and just it's a maturity thing, like because the Padres
have such a you know, such hatred for for the Dodgers,
and you know, of course I'm a Dodger reel and

(01:21:39):
it is real, it's it is, it's true. But like
at this end of the day, like you can have
that hatred, that's fine, but like don't don't let it
spill over boil over where it just makes you look
like a fool. That come on, man, like you you
use it as fuel, don't let it overwhelm you.

Speaker 1 (01:21:54):
Though, fair enough, Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 10 (01:21:57):
All right, Well to kind of quote to one of
our esteem callers. I think it was actually Gilberto saying
I trust him as as far as I can throw him.
And personally, Bernie, if you've ever seen me throw football,
it's kind of like throwing a duck out there. It's
it's it's just it's pretty much.

Speaker 1 (01:22:16):
In Dynamite eighty two, you could have won the state championship.

Speaker 24 (01:22:19):
You know what, Bernie, I watched this. I can throw
right over the mountains and then hit the.

Speaker 1 (01:22:23):
Camera man, you could. I love the way he dropped back.
I bought you feel that steak hit the guy in
the face.

Speaker 10 (01:22:29):
But the point be, yes, exactly, Listen, the point being
I don't trust Rogers.

Speaker 24 (01:22:34):
Of course I don't trust him, no way.

Speaker 1 (01:22:36):
Listen, my friend, A great job tonight, Patrick, Appreciate you, buddy,
And of course I'll leave you with this thought. Vote
for Pedro, Vote for Pedri, and all your dreams will
come true. All right, buddy, Thanks Patrick the chef you're
up next. I know you got something to say about this,
wul Frankas.

Speaker 24 (01:22:53):
Yeah, if you're gonna be a clown, expect a circus.

Speaker 6 (01:22:57):
And that's how I feel regarding the players, in citing
the reaction that they did from the fans. Now, the fans,
what they did was not excusable by any means, But
the players, they're paid millions of dollars to be out
there to represent an organization in a positive manner, and
they just did not do So what's the saying, go
act like you've been there before.

Speaker 1 (01:23:18):
The Padres are going back.

Speaker 6 (01:23:19):
Yep, they thought the series was won after three games.
This is a five game series. Here was not over
and you had these players acting like they were going
right to the World Series. And the Dodgers, give them credit,
battled back and shut down one of the most potent
offenses in Major League Baseball for the final twenty four innings.

(01:23:40):
And I think it's because the Padres got punched in
the mouth after.

Speaker 1 (01:23:46):
Did you blame them more than the fans will? Yeah,
happened to that, Okay, real quickly. Also, I want to
get your thoughts Enter and Roche.

Speaker 6 (01:23:54):
I don't believe them at all. Who actually believes that
he had nothing to do with Robert Salah getting fired.
Let's be real here, The defense was playing as well
as any in the NFL this season. He's a defensive coach. Now,
I get he was not, by any means the most
competent head coach in other areas besides the defense. I

(01:24:17):
think he said too many of the quiet parts out loud.
I understand wanting to move on from him, but as
it is right now, it's not like they've been eliminated
from playoff contention. And the defense isn't the reason why
they're having their struggles. It's the offense. Aaron Rodgers has
not played well.

Speaker 1 (01:24:33):
They don't and I think I think, Chef, you're all
those points are right. You could just tell by the
body language. Those two were never simpatical. They just weren't.
And I want to read a tweet. Fred in Nebraska
tweets and he says Aaron Rodgers didn't get solid fired,
but he also didn't stop him from being fired. So

(01:24:54):
now this is a semantical thing. He said, lose to
the Broncos ten tonight, that's an offense problem, not a
Sola led defense problem. We know Solis defense was solid.
And oh, by the way, not only the Denver game.
Rogers threw three picks in London last week, including missing
and he missed Garrett Wilson wide open on a game
on a that would have been a touchdown.

Speaker 24 (01:25:12):
It's not wor season his career he's having right now, and.

Speaker 1 (01:25:16):
He didn't have a good one in twenty twenty two.
So I just think any way you want to slice it, okay,
whether the dapping up on the sidelines which went over
like a fart in church that didn't go over at all.
The comments Solid made regarding you know, mandatory Michigan. Both
of them are culpable. They didn't get along. And then

(01:25:37):
back to the Padres, Dodgers got a tweet from a
gentleman eighties showtime says Bernie Freddle the call of Fernando
was right. Pods fans didn't act a fool when La
was visiting. That's because no Dodger players were taunting their
fans and acting like idiots trying to antagonize in drunks
and stands. He's not wrong, he's not wrong. So I

(01:26:00):
appreciated Chef, appreciated Patrick Mark. You got the last word
on both.

Speaker 25 (01:26:04):
So when it comes to Aaron Rodgers, I guess we
all know that in baseball, in football terms, when it
comes to a problem on the team, they're not necessarily
going to get rid of the player. So the coach
lost out because I've heard other talk show hosts say
that Salah wasn't the best coach of just coaching the team.

(01:26:30):
So when it all comes down, we all know the
coach is more likely to lose his job versus the player.
And other things about Aaron we've all been talking about. He's,
like you said, a side eye kind of guy. He's
a subtle throwing digs at people. So he's not one to,

(01:26:52):
I guess, take up for his coach if he doesn't
like him. So on the outside we can see just
based on basic body language, they weren't getting along somehow
the coach wasn't able to fix the play so that
it would help Rogers, who's not playing up to the
great expectations that Rogers has been. So it kind of

(01:27:15):
fell apart because the coach is not doing well, he's
not getting along with Aaron, so he's going to be
the fall guy when it comes to the situation. When
it comes to the Dodger thing, you got to hold
the player more responsible because, like we've all been saying,
the players get paid, they're supposed to be playing and

(01:27:37):
not necessarily taunting the fans because their fans are obviously
going crazy because their team is in the playoff and
everybody's on edge because they want their team to win.
So just by teasing them and taunting them, that's not
going to help anything. And with it being Padre's Dodgers,

(01:27:59):
there's a big history just because we're so close, and
we always they're always fighting about something. It's just like
throwing gas on you know, on grease. It just doesn't
work together because it's podresed Dodgers, so it's going to
blow up. But I kind of blame more the player
versus the fans, who are fans drunk more than likely

(01:28:21):
and just not gonna be held to a standard.

Speaker 1 (01:28:25):
That's my position. The players are the product. The players
should be held to a higher standard for obvious reasons.
The pants, the fans pay their money, they take a
ticket in One of the earlier callers said, you can boo.
I think it was James and ll you can boo.
You can hiss. When you start throwing beer cans and

(01:28:46):
baseballs on the field, it's hard to justify that. Okay,
two wrongs don't make a right. Or they say two
rights made an airplane, see what they did there. But
two wrongs don't make it right. And you know, I
began this whole thing by saying, you know, I was
the night of the Mouse at the Palace. Are we
gonna have one of those again? Someday? I'm telling you, man,
don't think it can't happen spontaneous combustion when you mix

(01:29:08):
alcohol and emotion, and like Mark said, you're you know,
grease and gas. Whatever you put, you put the Pods
and Dodgers together, and in such, it's good for baseball
to have these rivalries. It's tremendous.

Speaker 25 (01:29:18):
Like what about college was saying, if the people in
charge don't make a point to warn the fans and
then if something happens, do something about it, because if
you let everybody get away with it, it's good.

Speaker 1 (01:29:31):
Well, and you know Mark, as you know, they have
the you go to Dodger Stadium or any of the
stadiums now if you see bad behavior, they give you
a number to text, and you're supposed to. I don't
know how people act on that, but look, people, the
bottom line is there isn't necessarily a right or wrong,
but I think there are basic guidelines and for the
most part. Again, you can indict fifty three thousand fans

(01:29:52):
when it was only a few, and you can't. In
diet an entire organization was only a handful of players.
But this isn't new and it ain't go going away.
The question is is it enabled what happens I'm telling
you coming up on November nineteenth. You're gonna hear talk
shows talking about the mouse of the Palace and the anniversary.
How many of them were there? I was there. What

(01:30:13):
did we find out about college football last week? You
can't hide in October, and thanks to the twelve team
college football playoff, nobody gets eliminated by week six. But
I'll tell you what, when four teams ranked in the
top eleven loose to unranked opponents, you learn that you
expect the unexpected. None of them were more shocking than

(01:30:36):
Alabama Number one. Alabama losing to Vanderbilt. There's nothing really
to compare that to. And the truth of the matter is,
I don't know. Maybe Alabama's defense is got a problem.
They took a twenty eight nothing lead against Georgia a
couple weeks back. They couldn't get stopped and they needed them.
They finally held on, but then all of a sudden,
you saw it. You know, Vanderbilt did, but they weren't

(01:30:59):
the only Tennessee ranked fourth. They go down at Arkansas.
No one really paid attention to it because when Vandy
beat Bama, that took the cake for the day. Is
the biggest story in the conversation around Tennessee is. They
were climbing their rankings in the first month of the season,
and all of a sudden they were mentioned in the
same sentence as Georgia, Alabama in Texas. Now is there

(01:31:21):
an elite tier anymore? Georgia's lost, Alabama's lost, Tennessee's lost,
Texas hasn't. I don't expect to lose to Oklahoma Saturday,
and there was another shake up. Number nine Missouri. They
showed out pretty well, except they got beat by thirty
one points at Texas A and M. Last week Missouri
was ranked ninth, Texas M was ranked twenty fifth. Texas
M beat him. Texas A and M beat him forty

(01:31:43):
one to ten. So we look ahead two later on
today for starters, the big ten game of the year
is set. We're going to dive into that and other
juicy matchups coming up. By the way, I want to
thank our thanks to Rapid Radios, the official communication device

interaction sener aut at Dodger Stadium. Who do you blame
the fans or the players? Could there ever be another
mouse at the palace? And Aaron Rodgers? Oh Patley false? Well, okay,

(01:33:14):
do you believe Aaron Rodgers or not? We waste no time.
It's the midnight hour. All right, let's light this candle
without further ado skid it rolling. Lynn from San Diego,

(01:33:34):
the Belly of the Beast, joined us to start it
off tonight.

Speaker 12 (01:33:37):
Good evening, Lynn, Good evening, Bernie doing great, sir, It's
always good.

Speaker 1 (01:33:42):
To hear you.

Speaker 13 (01:33:43):
Man.

Speaker 5 (01:33:43):
You're brighten up my night.

Speaker 1 (01:33:44):
Thank you, sir.

Speaker 12 (01:33:45):
Hey getting right into your question. Oh, in case you
don't know, boy, Now, I'm a Class A driver drive
for Alberson's. I've been driving thirty five years. So the
reason I say that is listen me up. So let's
say cars are the fans, and as the trucks are
out here, we're the pros. So as the trucks, pros

(01:34:07):
need to be pros in order to avoid disaster.

Speaker 5 (01:34:10):
We get cut off all day.

Speaker 12 (01:34:11):
Imagine if we got mad and start side swiping people,
how long you think will last. It'll be tragedy out here.
So look, look, professionalism, as my point, goes a long way.

Speaker 5 (01:34:23):
So you always have to.

Speaker 12 (01:34:25):
Carry yourself on a high standard when you're considered to
be a professional at anything you do, because if you don't,
Oh boy, that Satuel Jackson's safe from Jurassic Park.

Speaker 5 (01:34:36):
Hold on to your bus.

Speaker 1 (01:34:39):
You know, that's actually a pretty damn good analogy. I mean,
we all have to hold ourselves to a higher standard
as professionals in life, regardless of your profession. You know,
class never goes out of style. Respect never goes out
of style. So it sounds like you feel like the
players are more culpable for lighting the fuse? Am I wrong?

Speaker 4 (01:34:56):
No, You're not wrong.

Speaker 12 (01:34:57):
That's exactly what I'm saying, because think about it. If
Profar goes in, gets the ball like he's supposed to,
turns his back, get the ball back in, the fans.

Speaker 4 (01:35:07):
Are over it.

Speaker 16 (01:35:08):
But this idiot sits there, jumps up and down and
up to him.

Speaker 12 (01:35:13):
And waved his finger. I wanted to slap him through
this TV screen.

Speaker 1 (01:35:19):
And it's the playoffs. It's the playoffs. I've seen these
types of histrionics in all sports, but never, honestly, never
in the playoffs. Finally, Len, appreciate your starting us off tonight.
Do you believe Aaron Rodgers? Do you believe Aaron Rodgers
that he's telling the truth based on what he said
the other day?

Speaker 3 (01:35:39):
No?

Speaker 12 (01:35:40):
No, I'm really It's almost like the case when that
coach up in Dimmer was messing with Russell Wilson like,
I don't believe nothing about Aaron Rodgers no more. I
can't starting to can't stand this dude.

Speaker 18 (01:35:51):
Man.

Speaker 12 (01:35:51):
I'm over him, that team and him all of that stuff.
They're a freaking dumpster fire. They're worse off than they were.

Speaker 1 (01:35:59):
You know you're not wrong. We're gonna find out Monday
night too. Or Hey, appreciate you, Lynn, stay safe out there,
my man. Appreciate you. Uh, Mark from Laurel. What state
is Laurel in? Mark? Excuse me, Bernie, it's just Mark
from Laurel. What state is Laurel in?

Speaker 5 (01:36:15):
My friend Laurrelens is in Maryland. It's a summer Maryland.

Speaker 1 (01:36:18):
Okay, beautiful, Okay, Well, welcome in Mark.

Speaker 5 (01:36:21):
Thank you so much, Bernie. Bernie.

Speaker 15 (01:36:23):
I just want to congratulate you. I enjoy talking to
you because I think you do it the right way.
You know, there's a lot of sensationalism with broadcasters sports journalism, and.

Speaker 5 (01:36:35):
I like the way you stick to the basics. Okay,
now I'm gonna ask you a question. I can comment
on all three because I'm a sixty year old man.
So I saw the malice in the palace. It made
me sick. I'm gonna start off with Major League Baseball.
I blame NLB first and foremost the the the hierarchy,

(01:36:59):
because they are a steward to the game. You know,
people or players get away with what you allow them
to do. Sportsmanship is the key to this, and this
is a cancer and a toxic. I've seen the culture change.

Speaker 15 (01:37:14):
It is sickening. I grew up playing all three sports,
and whether you want to lose, you go shake the
guy's hands and you act like you got some class.
Class ain't spelt with a K.

Speaker 13 (01:37:27):
And this is what it is.

Speaker 15 (01:37:28):
It's in facialism. It's Jerry Springer type type a culture,
and it's sickening and it will destroy the sport. I've
seen it in all aspects of sports, and I hate
it every time I see it because the players are
think they're bigger in the game. Anytime you think you
bigger than the game, you gotta go.

Speaker 1 (01:37:49):
You're a really good point too, Mark. Let's not bury it.
This on some level has been enabled. I think at
some point baseball has to at least make some sort
of statement because you're talking about fans, talking about an
experience and entertainment medium, you're talking about safety before I
let your run Mark thoughts on Aaron Rodgers. Do you
believe him? Yes or no?

Speaker 5 (01:38:09):
Hell though, excuse my language. Aaron Rodgers. Let me tell
you something. My basic thing is why all these first
round quarterbacks because they're set up to failure. Aaron Rodgers
was behind Brett Farm.

Speaker 15 (01:38:27):
Okay, so he learned the game. The game has got
to slow down. You know, all these players need to
take a year or two. Management needs to This is
my broad philosophy. Management needs to say, hey, the you know,
they need to talk to the the the whatever theme
they're on and say, hey, guys, we got to take
a year off. This guy has got to sit and

(01:38:48):
learn so the game can slow down. Okay, there's so
many guys, but the game. You know, I grew up
when players, when quarterbacks were taken, they sat down a
year or two. Okay, so anyway, either.

Speaker 5 (01:39:02):
Way, Aaron Rodgers, he came in. Now he's turned into
a toxic cancer.

Speaker 3 (01:39:10):
He thinks.

Speaker 15 (01:39:10):
I don't like the way he thinks he's bigger than
the game. His ego is slowed down. I think he
got that guy fired.

Speaker 19 (01:39:18):
He had to.

Speaker 5 (01:39:20):
I think he's bigger than the game. I don't like
this version of Aaron Rodgers. I love early Aaron Rodgers
behind Brett Farr because I thought Brett Farr hung on
too long. Okay, well, good stuff on, man.

Speaker 1 (01:39:32):
I appreciate you. Listen. Don't be a stranger. We do
this every Friday. I want to get these other calls.
But you made two great points. You don't trust Aaron Rodgers.
I agree with your premise he believes he's bigger in
the game. I do believe that I do. And you
brought up some great points about enabling bad player behavior.
Do you mean to be short with your mark? But
I just want to make sure we do all the
callers tonight. And you don't be a stranger. Jerome and Charleston,

(01:39:56):
how you been your own? Been a minute?

Speaker 3 (01:39:58):
This one. I can't stand that guy. Jason Steward.

Speaker 1 (01:40:01):
How oh whoa whoa whoa? Don't no no, stop stop
stop Jerome. Jerome, Jason is my guy. You may not
agree with his opinion, but he articulated it pretty damn well.
And what I want to hear from you, Jerome a
A let's talk about this situation Sunday night. Who do
you blame the fans or do you blame the players?

(01:40:22):
And then secondly, you blame the fans because the.

Speaker 3 (01:40:27):
Only seem to have a problem with black players for
some kind of reasons. It was not Lebron Jams. Now
it's Jeorge and Colfark. Who else are they gonna talk about?

Speaker 5 (01:40:35):
Match? Huh?

Speaker 3 (01:40:36):
Do you always seem to have a problem with the
black pop.

Speaker 1 (01:40:39):
I'll be darn, I'll be darn, Jerome, I was at
the game one night and Dodger Stadium there threw an
orders of a guy named Pete Rose. Are you kidding me?
All right, so you blame the fans, How about Aaron Rodgers?
How about him?

Speaker 17 (01:40:49):
Hey, look, we're talking the hell out of Aaron Rodgers.
You might have missed that part, Jerome. I think he
missed that part.

Speaker 1 (01:40:55):
Jerome. We're beating the crap out of Aaron Rodgers tonight.

Speaker 16 (01:40:59):
Now you hurt the order?

Speaker 3 (01:41:02):
Is an idiot, Okay, when you work for an owner
to owners an idiot. I've never liked what he just
I don't like him at all.

Speaker 1 (01:41:09):
I don't like Well, do you believe, okay, fair enough,
do you believe Aaron Rodgers is telling the truth. He
had nothing to do with the departure of Robert Sawa.

Speaker 11 (01:41:18):
Who writes to check.

Speaker 1 (01:41:20):
Okay, y question, Jerome, I'll give you one last chance.
Yes or no? Aaron Rodgers, do you believe yes or no?

Speaker 3 (01:41:26):
I don't not want her, but say, hey, you know
what he knew when he was de five, when he
told him he was d five, that's.

Speaker 4 (01:41:33):
When he knew.

Speaker 3 (01:41:34):
Yeah. Look, I don't know about scuttle button and and
the locker room all all what. But hey, the owners
the one who writes to checks, so the buck stops
with him, all.

Speaker 1 (01:41:45):
Right, Joe, call back next week. Man, I just appreciate
you when you call Jim from Massachusetts area. Jim, you're
turned away in on this Missios tonight.

Speaker 5 (01:41:54):
Hey, what's going on?

Speaker 1 (01:41:55):
Brady?

Speaker 13 (01:41:55):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (01:41:56):
It's the fans fault because whatever alcohol is involved, you're
gonna go there. I'll say, all right, I'll say seventy
five per a fan and twenty five percent the player.
Because you've got children playing baseball now. It's not like
your old school baseball. They get they get big salaries now,
so it's like, you know, they think they're better than

(01:42:17):
everybody else, and that's good for them. You know, they
got a union and everything like that. But you know,
like this stuff never happened in old school baseball. You know,
so I think you did, Jim.

Speaker 1 (01:42:28):
Jim, you're a you're a you're a very learned man.
I'm sure you've heard of the gas House game. I'm
sure you've heard of Stactual Page. I'm here. You're sure
you've heard of Ricky Henderson. I'm sure you heard Pete Rose.
There have been guys who were flamboyant, who played the
game now not necessarily to disrespect the other team. And
I think that's where the Pounderies crossed the line. That
that's just you know, I know it's against a lot

(01:42:48):
of practice psychology with a license, but I accept your
premise because even though Profar made an ass out of himself,
he did there's no debate on that. The fans didn't
have to you do what they did. And you know,
you can't really indict fifty three thousand fans because there
was only a few. But anyway, continue on, Jim.

Speaker 5 (01:43:07):
And they know that they know that, and they know
that there's nothing you can do about it. You don't
have enough security or anything else like that. But like
the malice in the Palace, I mean, look what happened there.
You know, I watched that they should have known better.
But the fans never should have came down on the floor.
They tried to fight with six ten guys away in
two twenty five either And what was the issue there? Alcohol?

Speaker 1 (01:43:30):
Sure of course I was there that night after very much.
So it always is it always, there's always alcohol. But
they make a lot of money on beer sales. Man,
you've been to a game lately that a couple of
beers about twenty bucks?

Speaker 5 (01:43:42):
Now, well, you now that you're talking old school. I
remember in a Bruins Saint Louis game when they pulled
Derek Sanderson out of the penalty box, ended the stands
and started pumblum.

Speaker 1 (01:43:55):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (01:43:56):
Cashman and Hodge went up on the up on the exact.

Speaker 1 (01:43:59):
One with the then pulled out the shoe and started hitting.
He pulled out a shoe and started hitting.

Speaker 5 (01:44:03):
No, that was that was another one this day was
dangling a rubber chicken down into the penalty box on
Derrek Sanderson. He pulled it out of their hands and
threw it down. All of a sudden they pulled it
him into the stand spouted pummelom. Cashman and Hodge went
up there on the stands and there's a.

Speaker 16 (01:44:18):
Cop pit Pamela and saying, oh, we gotta cover we
gotta cover.

Speaker 5 (01:44:20):
It, and Cashman laid his sherewood right over his head.
It was priceless, but it was in Madison Square Garden.
It was in Madison Square Garden where they started beating
on the Bruins in a glass. There was a check
or something like that, and then some drunk fan reached
over and took the stick from a player, and the
Bruins went went over the stands to go get it,

(01:44:41):
and Peter mcnap went up the stands and beat the
guy with his own shoe.

Speaker 1 (01:44:44):
And don't you think that could happen again? Don't you
think that spontaneous combustion could happen again. I'm not saying
it's going to tomorrow, but I gotta tell you, man,
it doesn't take that much to light that fuse. I
was there in the mouth.

Speaker 5 (01:44:57):
It has, but it hasn't happened in Saint Louis and
it hasn't happened in Massis Square. I got because of
you know, the alcohol, and they got more security and
everything like that, And that's the whole point. They didn't
have enough security at the palace and then when it
did happen, the constant show up me when they were
calling him, they real.

Speaker 1 (01:45:14):
Quickly, Jim, because I want to get to the other callers.
You when Aaron Rodgers makes the statement that if you
believe he had something to he doesn't like the comments
about Robert Salas firing that he had anything to do with,
he said, quota's patently false. Do you believe Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 5 (01:45:29):
Uh No, I don't. I mean, I'm not a Patriots fan.
But you never saw Brady, you know, out in front
of a mic all the time during the season or
in the off season the way Rogers does. It's all
about Rogers. And he's only won one championship. Brady's won six,
so you know, and that was like a century ago,
so it's all on Rogers. He's just a big baby.

Speaker 1 (01:45:52):
I don't disagree. Jim's appreciate you as always. We're going
to get to all the callers. Nobody go anywhere or
off to a rousing start then Mark, Jerome and Jim
getting the start of the night. James, Hilberto and Andrew
you are up next. Don't go anywhere, Hang right there,
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine ninety six six three six nine. We're just getting started. Man,

(01:46:14):
another rockous midnight hour. Do you believe Aaron Rodgers? Do
you have anything to do with the firing? Nosala? And
who do you blame for Sunday Nights Francas between Dodgers
fans and the Potters players? You blame the players, You
blame the fans. Do you think there could ever be
another mouse at the palace? Let's hear from you. I'm
Bernie Fraddle. We're coming to your line from the Las
Vegas Fox Sports Radio Tireck dot Com studios. Keep it locked.

(01:46:35):
You're listening to the Bernie Fraddle Show on Fox Sports Radio.
All right, back on the Bernie Fraddle Show, Fox Sports Radio.
The midnight Hour continues the rock as midnight Hour. The
callers have been great. Remember the most boring conversations are
when everybody agrees. We don't have to agree, and we
haven't been a lot tonight. That makes it even better.

(01:46:55):
Appreciate the originality, the spontan eighty and the emotion on
the callers. James from Los Angeles, you're up next. Welcome
back in James. How are you?

Speaker 5 (01:47:06):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (01:47:06):
Bernie?

Speaker 16 (01:47:07):
A still in La and I haven't haven't made it
to Guardena yet, but I'm still out here.

Speaker 1 (01:47:12):
I'll be waiting for you, man, Man will be waiting
for you, said, Okay, go ahead, man, Hey Man.

Speaker 16 (01:47:17):
I've been loving your show the last couple of months.
I'm glad I found you and joined on. And after
after listening to you, you know, I told you before
I wouldn't. I didn't really know you that much. But
now listening to you, I can swear you know where
all the bodies are buried. And you could have added
some some stories to that movie Casino that we don't
know about. I'm convinced to that.

Speaker 1 (01:47:38):
Man.

Speaker 16 (01:47:40):
I love your show, and keep.

Speaker 4 (01:47:42):
Up the good work.

Speaker 16 (01:47:44):
As for the fans, uh, The first time that I
remember uh seeing the pen action was when Matt Max
Maxwell went into the stands back in the day when
he was playing for the Houston Rockets Herd of Maxwell
and attack somebody because they said something. I guess his
daughter was fit and they brought it, yes to it

(01:48:05):
and he was able to have access, And I thought,
right then and there, it's too easy for the fans
and the players to interact. Hockey has that big shield,
that big glob I'm not really a hockey fan, but
they have that big glass going around it, so you
kind of keep them out. But baseball, football and basketball.

Speaker 3 (01:48:22):
You know, at any time they can, they can go
over to fans and.

Speaker 16 (01:48:25):
You can have like the melicin the Palace top did.

Speaker 1 (01:48:28):
Do you blame the fans more for what happened Sunday
night or the players? What do you lay us down?

Speaker 16 (01:48:33):
I think I think the fans are more responsive to
anytime you can throw something at somebody or.

Speaker 5 (01:48:38):
Something like that.

Speaker 16 (01:48:39):
Uh, you know the players, I mean, hey, they get
paid to do what they're gonna do if they want
to show out and everything. Okay, you can brew them
and everything, but you know, doing the stuff that they did,
you could throwing baseball and all that stuff. Now I
blame I blame the fans.

Speaker 1 (01:48:51):
James Fair, Okay, that's well crafted point. I accept that. Now.
Aaron Rodgers, you heard his statements of other day. Do
you believe him?

Speaker 5 (01:49:00):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 16 (01:49:01):
Like the greatest actor of our time Robert de Niro said,
and meet the parents, that circle of trust. Anytime you
mess with that circle, Uh, he's gonna react to it.

Speaker 3 (01:49:14):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (01:49:14):
Remember that, you a pothead funker.

Speaker 16 (01:49:19):
Exactly exactly that circle of trust. Anybody in this circle
and talk about whoever it is from the offen, the
coordinator to the.

Speaker 5 (01:49:28):
Tight end.

Speaker 16 (01:49:28):
That was passive crime. He brought him in, he catered
to those are his guys. And even though it doesn't
look like the guy got demoted.

Speaker 19 (01:49:36):
Anyway, uh, I still think you know, he didn't like him.

Speaker 16 (01:49:40):
He didn't like him from the get go, and he
got him.

Speaker 1 (01:49:43):
You know, and around the bat. All right, great call, James,
So don't be a stranger. My man Gilberto from San Diego,
Horrey buddy.

Speaker 3 (01:49:52):
With Bernie.

Speaker 19 (01:49:54):
Weie the end we the end listen, Bernie.

Speaker 5 (01:49:56):
I got a couple of things.

Speaker 19 (01:49:58):
First of all, can somebody please told the patres that
he was a five game series and not a wildcard series.

Speaker 1 (01:50:06):
Well, it's it's it's a it's a playoff series. It's
the playoffs.

Speaker 19 (01:50:10):
Yeah, they played the wildcard last week. It was two
out of three, this was three out of five.

Speaker 1 (01:50:17):
I'm not sure where you're going with this, big fellow,
fill in the blank.

Speaker 16 (01:50:20):
Okay, this is where I'm going.

Speaker 19 (01:50:22):
The offense was m I a in game four, in
Game five. But the thing about Sunday last Sunday, I
wasn't remember.

Speaker 1 (01:50:28):
They didn't score the final six runs of Game three
after that six run out. First they led sixty one,
then there was the Grand Salami. They didn't score the
final six innings of that game on Tuesday. They got
shut out Wednesday and shut out Friday. I wouldn't dwell
too much on that, but let's put it this way.
You know, they kind of went down without much of

(01:50:49):
a rump.

Speaker 19 (01:50:50):
Yeah, the only the only player that showed up was
ju Darvich. But going back, yes, Sunday, I was at
the game, okay, and we thought I was at the game.

Speaker 16 (01:50:59):
I was because.

Speaker 19 (01:51:01):
Behind complaints, so we thought that we thought it was
a home run that everybody thought it was a home run.
And Profard got it. And there's a history with Profile.
He's an instigator and he always does that. He's had
an issue with Will Smith during the year. He had
an issue at the beginning of the game doing one

(01:51:21):
of the at bats with will Smith, and then in
he went back to that fan that he took the
ball from and gave him a ball and basically told
him you couldn't get the good one, here's.

Speaker 5 (01:51:33):
A gift for you.

Speaker 3 (01:51:35):
And that's what happened.

Speaker 16 (01:51:37):
So and then all hell breaks.

Speaker 19 (01:51:39):
Loose because some fans started throwing balls a couple of balls.
Not ask him, but he made a big deal about it.

Speaker 1 (01:51:47):
And then because you did, you agree. Then, at least
on that night, the players were more culpable than the fans.
Although I think it was James brought up a good point.
You can boo, but you shouldn't be throwing things.

Speaker 21 (01:51:59):
So I agree.

Speaker 19 (01:52:01):
I agree, But they like to instigate their an emotional team,
and that's what that's what.

Speaker 1 (01:52:06):
But I don't see him doing it against Pittsburgh. I
don't see him doing it against the Seattle exactly. There's
something to this. Hey real quickly, Roberto, and first of all,
good good stuff as always Aaron Rodgers. You heard what
he said. You believe or not.

Speaker 19 (01:52:24):
I believe him as far as I can throw him.

Speaker 1 (01:52:28):
He's all for five. Now, no one believes him. No
one will go ahead continue on.

Speaker 19 (01:52:33):
No I stopped, I stop respecting. I love players. I
know it takes a lot to be a professional football player,
and he's had a very very very good career. But
for the last five years he's a viva, he's a brad,
he's a whiner, and now he's taking the Jets down
in Plaines with him the guy. I mean, I cannot

(01:52:56):
believe what happened. I know Sally might not be the
best coach, but he did it to Lafleur in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (01:53:02):
I think they get it to Mike McCarthy too. He
actually and then after McCarthy was gone, we all loved him.
So hey, listen, we got so many to get to. Alberto,
and don't mean to be short. Don't be a stranger man.
I always appreciate hearing from me. Thanks you, Alberto. Andrew
from Bakersfield, welcome back in.

Speaker 5 (01:53:17):
How are you good? How are you good?

Speaker 13 (01:53:21):
Good?

Speaker 20 (01:53:21):
I'm a Dodgers fan. Okay, So I think when Mookie
Bets hit it to left? Can you clear up the
Major League Baseball rule? Is there a line that goes
up from the wall up into infinity that if the
ball crosses that the fans have like one hundred percent
access to it?

Speaker 1 (01:53:42):
Well, they actually do, I know, I do know the rule.
The bottom line is once a player crosses over into
the stands, it's fair game. And uh, you know, he
caught the ball. The fans were actually pretty good. They
didn't try to slap it out of his hand. Like
you know, or they interfere like Bartman did, right, So
I hope that answers your question. I'm not sure where

(01:54:03):
you're going with that, but I hope that answers your question.

Speaker 20 (01:54:06):
Can you slap the ball out of his glove if
he catches it in.

Speaker 1 (01:54:09):
The in the I've seen it. I've seen it happen.
You saw it happen in Baltimore in the nineteen ninety
six playoffs when that kid not Yeah, so you short answer,
and by the way, people don't do it. Don't interview
with the ball in play, even if it's flying into
the seats. Go ahead, Where are you going with this? Andrew?

Speaker 20 (01:54:25):
I got to say the profar fool me once. Okay.
I think the players were more culpable.

Speaker 1 (01:54:34):
I don't know. Because when he's turning around, jumping up
and down like a kangaroo, mocking the fans and staid
of getting the ball back to the infield, getting in
his pitcher's hands so you can you can get out
of the inning, he's making a damn fool out of himself,
and he directed it at the fans. That's my beef
and the other guy.

Speaker 20 (01:54:53):
There's kids in the stands.

Speaker 5 (01:54:54):
All right, so it's fair.

Speaker 1 (01:54:55):
That's right. Clean it up, right, you saw what happened?
All right? Do you believe Aaron Rodgers or not? Andrew?

Speaker 20 (01:55:02):
Okay, have you heard him talk? He's completely monotoned. I
do not believe him at all.

Speaker 1 (01:55:09):
Yeah, you bring up a really good point. There's something
about his ratest speech in the way. It seems disingenuous,
doesn't it.

Speaker 20 (01:55:14):
Yep, his parents should shake him my shoulders and say,
well he would, but he's.

Speaker 1 (01:55:18):
A stranger in his family. I don't think he talks
to his parents. Could be wrong. Someone correct me if
I'm wrong.

Speaker 20 (01:55:24):
He's a Have you seen Aaron Rodgers because I haven't.

Speaker 1 (01:55:29):
All right, Hey, good stuff, Andrew, appreciate you man. Doug
from San Diego. I'm not sure if you've heard from
you in the midnight hour before. Is this your first time, Doug?

Speaker 13 (01:55:38):
I did give you in a little bit a couple
of weeks ago, but.

Speaker 1 (01:55:42):
Time welcome back. Good to have you. Go ahead, well.

Speaker 13 (01:55:46):
Burn baby burn love your show man.

Speaker 5 (01:55:48):
Really thank you.

Speaker 13 (01:55:49):
Uh. You know, if the fan reaches in and interferes
with the fielder catching a blood like that, I would
be fan interference, right.

Speaker 1 (01:55:57):
No, no, no, no, not not if it's in the stands.
Not if it's in the stands. Did you reach you?
Once you reach you over the fence or over the stands,
it's it's fair game.

Speaker 13 (01:56:05):
What about all those things where the guys are reaching
over at the Yankee Stadium, hits it and the guy
got fan interference, they gave him a home run or
some I don't remember.

Speaker 1 (01:56:14):
That play, but let's let's stick to the basics here,
my friend.

Speaker 13 (01:56:16):
Uh, you know what, Yeah, the fans in La are bush. Okay,
let me just explain that to you. You know what,
what's wrong with having a little fun. The guy caught
a fly ball, there's a home running car break it back.
I have a little fun. He didn't make it fun
of anybody who's going to be offended by that unless

(01:56:37):
you're an idiot.

Speaker 3 (01:56:39):
Uh.

Speaker 13 (01:56:40):
And then somebody throws a ball at them and he overreacted. Jesus,
what if it hit him in the head. You know,
it's ridiculous. And notice the fans of San Diego did
nothing even.

Speaker 3 (01:56:51):
Close to that.

Speaker 13 (01:56:52):
The fans in LA were completely out of handed, out
of line, you know what. So we you know, maybe
the baseball gods punished the Podras for their bad behavior
by shutting them out for twenty four straight innings.

Speaker 5 (01:57:08):
And that's crap too.

Speaker 13 (01:57:09):
That's just the game. So this thing about the fans
versus the players, I don't know Baseball's two sacri sank
Bernie Doug.

Speaker 11 (01:57:20):
I can do that.

Speaker 1 (01:57:20):
So I know you are coming from the position of
a potters and that's fine. I accept your opinion. I
understand because where you sit is where you stand, and
from your vantage point. I think you articulate your point well.
Whether or not people agree with it, that's not the point.
You made your point quite clearly. And by the way,

(01:57:41):
extra points for using the word sacrisanc. Nicely done. Hey,
real quickly, do you believe Aaron Rodgers or not?

Speaker 3 (01:57:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 13 (01:57:48):
Let me think is that Pope? Guys still Catholic?

Speaker 1 (01:57:51):
Here we go, So Rogers is zero for seven. I
love it, man, all right, I appreciate you. Man. Don't
be a stranger.

Speaker 4 (01:57:59):
Dog.

Speaker 1 (01:58:00):
I want to hear from you again and listen here.
There you have it, folks. I think Aaron Rodgers' reputation
is well deserved. Hell, if you told us it was
going to be eighty and sunny tomorrow, you probably will
go buy three top codes. Fernando from here in Las Vegas.
Welcome in.

Speaker 5 (01:58:12):
How are you helly?

Speaker 16 (01:58:14):
What's going on?

Speaker 13 (01:58:15):
Hey?

Speaker 18 (01:58:15):
Calm down, Dodger fans, you haven't won one thing yet
and that COVID title does not count. Okay, does not count.
So slowly roll, Dodger fans. You don't won nothing anyway.
I blame the fans when Profar took the field right away,
when he took the field in the first inning there down,
he sucks, and everything else giving him the finger, get

(01:58:37):
saying the F word. So I blame the fans. Half
of them are drunk in the idiots.

Speaker 22 (01:58:42):
Okay, okay, Aaron Rodgers, have you hung out with him
for twenty four hours?

Speaker 18 (01:58:47):
Bernie, no, sir, I have He's cool and misunderstood. You
guys don't know you don't know him.

Speaker 1 (01:58:55):
Okay, what are we missing? Okay, wait, wait a minute, now,
I accept the fact. I accept the fact. Hold on, Fernando,
you stay in the line. I'm not sure in what
capacity you did it or where you did it. I'm
not going to go down that road. And I'm glad
he was gracious to you. And you don't want to
hear me start name dropping because I've been around him
all and been in all the locker rooms for thirty years.

(01:59:15):
But the point of the matter is you had a
good experience with him. I accept that, But that's in
Apple's an interest thing, my friend. We're talking about a
situation here where there is a body of work, of
body language, oddball comments, side eye looks. He did it
to Mike McCarthy, he did it to Lafleur, and now
he's done it to Robert Salah. If you're telling me

(01:59:36):
he had no input whatsoever? What if Wody Johnson called
him up and said, I think, what do you think
about me letting him go? No, he could have said,
I believe he could have saved his job. I don't
think he wanted him there. Just my two cents. You
got the last word, Fernando.

Speaker 3 (01:59:49):
You guys don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:59:50):
You don't know what. Don't I know what? Don't I know?

Speaker 18 (01:59:53):
The palace in the mouse I blame Common Unions, that
little dummy. Who do you blame common Unius? The riff
free coming in his j that little dummy.

Speaker 1 (02:00:03):
Wait a minute, he had nothing to do with Ron
artescoing to land on the desk and a drunk fan
named John Green throwing a cop that I was I
was in the building that night. I accept your premise, Fernando.
A you blame the fans fair enough, Some people agree,
some people don't. I accept your opinion. Secondly, you see

(02:00:23):
a different side of Rogers. You think he's being sincere.
So far, you're the only one anything else. All right, Thanks, Fernando,
Appreciate you man. I am not contesting Fernando because of
his opinion, because his opinion is valued. What I am

(02:00:46):
only curious about is if his experience with Aaron Rodgers
is applicable to what we're seeing here in a business
environment and sort of the general body of work that
has been on the flame. Aaron Rodgers, vis a VI,
the media, et cetera. Tim from Florida, don't go anywhere.

(02:01:06):
You're up next. First, we gotta go back to our guy,
the chef, Kevin Wyrett with the.

Speaker 6 (02:01:10):
Least Yeah, Bernie. The big story of the night. Major
League Baseball, National League Division Series, Game five and the
series and the game number five go to the La Dodgers.

Speaker 7 (02:01:21):
Here's the pitch, Tanti swings chopping.

Speaker 8 (02:01:24):
A third backhead picked by her Nona. There's the thin
the going brother, fireworks go.

Speaker 9 (02:01:33):
Off and straight away center field as the Dodgers shut
out the Padres.

Speaker 6 (02:01:38):
Hitting back to that game that was Stephen Nelson on
FSR affiliate klee C and the Dodgers Radio Network LA
shutting out San Diego to nothing. Yoshi Nobo Yamamoto going
five scoreless of bullpen would take it the rest of
the way, and the Dodgers for the last twenty four
innings of this series, holding the Padre scoreless as they

(02:02:01):
claim it three games to two. They will advance to
the NLCS to face the New York Mets. Game one
set for Sunday evening, eight o'clock Eastern time out in
Los Angeles, so we do have another game five, though
in the Major League Playoffs LDS Cleveland and Detroit, that
game has actually been moved up to one o'clock Eastern
time because of inclement weather. And in college football, we

(02:02:27):
did have three games tonight, one of them involving a
ranked team number sixteen. Utah goes down Arizona State, winning
it on their home field twenty seven to nineteen. Northwestern
goes on the road to beat Maryland thirty seven to ten,
and UNLV with a blow out win against Utah State
fifty to thirty four.

Speaker 1 (02:02:43):
Thank you, Berny, Thanks Chef Tam and Florida. You're having
the next thanks to your patients.

Speaker 23 (02:02:50):
Hey, thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 1 (02:02:51):
How you doing, bet sir? Good? Thank you good.

Speaker 23 (02:02:54):
First, I swear to let you know, like I appreciate
your show because you're calm, real screams on the other
shows scream like ah, and like you're calm. You take
everybody's opinions and that's appreciated. First of all.

Speaker 4 (02:03:10):
So let's go to uh, the.

Speaker 23 (02:03:13):
The San Diego Padres.

Speaker 4 (02:03:15):
The kids just need to grow up.

Speaker 23 (02:03:17):
They're just they're they're gonna be great, but they just
they're like the little kid that got buoyed a little
bit and they're just trying to like make a make
make themselves well known. And then they're on that stage.

Speaker 1 (02:03:32):
Yeah, you're not wrong. I mean they want what the
Dodgers already have. Yeah they can't. They're they're they're as
good as the Dodgers, but they haven't been able to
get over that hump. So that's my way of interpreting that.
You you believe the fans or check that the players
are more culpable as to what happens Sunday night.

Speaker 23 (02:03:55):
They're eventually going to grow up.

Speaker 13 (02:03:56):
I think.

Speaker 1 (02:03:59):
Going to be No one can argue that as far
as Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 23 (02:04:05):
So Aaron Rodgers, so let me ask you this. I
don't believe him because like, did he have his COVID test?

Speaker 1 (02:04:17):
I should have brought that up to Fernando No. But
and again yeah, yeah, So what you're essentially saying is
he'll he'll shift his narrative to fit the mood, and
he'll play fast and loose with the truth. Is that fair?

Speaker 23 (02:04:28):
It's whatever his truth is his truth. Yeah, And and
and that was back that when he was with Green Bay,
like when he was backing up Brett, he kept saying, oh, well,
I I want to do this, But he kept saying
back then even then when he was a backup, he
kept like doing little things to like stab at Brett

(02:04:52):
because he wanted the job.

Speaker 1 (02:04:54):
He's very sob with his passive aggressive behavior. I I
just it just feels that way. You know what, They've
given him everything he's asked for. He's got the defense
he wanted all on Bazaar you name it, right, And
now I think I feel like Robert Salad was a
speed bump. So we're gonna find out Monday night if
they don't beat Buffalo. I think it's gonna issue, is

(02:05:15):
gonna get real. You got the last one, Jim.

Speaker 3 (02:05:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 23 (02:05:18):
I just think that with him, it's whatever his word
is is. He's gonna narrative to to that's what the
real thing is, and it's not really the real thing.

Speaker 1 (02:05:29):
I know what you mean. I know what you mean
by saying that, Graig all right, thanks to him. Don't
be a stranger real quickly. I want to read a
tweet from a gentleman named Perito p e r I
t O says Bernie that Pondre fan has selective memory.
In twenty twenty two, a fan at Petco through a
full beer at Cody Bellinger while he was catching the
ball on the field. The players invited the behavior by

(02:05:52):
their antics. I think that's true. They invited the behavior,
not excusing the fans, not excusing the players. But I
feel that the players are more culpable because they're the product,
and you would think they would hold themselves to a
higher standard. Eight seven seven nine to nine on Fox
eight seven seven nine nine six six three sixty nine.
We're not done. Still time to get in on the
midnight hour. Who do you blame for Sunday Night's Frake,

(02:06:14):
it's between the Potteries and the Dodgers. Do you blame
the fans or do you blame the players for instigating
it or who instigated it? Secondly, Aaron Rodgers, after Robert
Salow was fired, said, if you believe he had something
to do with it, those reports are patently false. Do
you believe them? Well, it's about ninety nine percent the
people don't. Fernando did. And that's okay. I want to

(02:06:34):
hear from people. I want to dictate your answer. I
want to hear what you gotta say. I'm Bernie Frattle,
Where company line from Las Vegas, Foxfords Radio, Tireck dot
Com Studios. Keep it locked. You're listening to the Bernie
Frattle Show on Fox Sports Radio. We're back on the
Bernie Fraddle Show, Fox Sports Radio. The midnight hour continues.
Let's go back out to the phones. Trevor from Sherwood
joins us. Welcome in, Trevor.

Speaker 4 (02:06:56):
How are you hey, Bernie? How are you doing, young man?

Speaker 1 (02:06:59):
Thank you, sir. Good you.

Speaker 5 (02:07:02):
Bunch of balls all around.

Speaker 21 (02:07:03):
Let's say let's start with the baseball first. You know,
everybody is more immature these days and MLB needs to
and the managers need to tighten their grip. I know
that fans get a little bit unruly and just I

(02:07:24):
don't know, kind of like the Malice in the Palace
we were talking about that. To really solve the problem,
we've got to let the fans know that this stuff
is unacceptable. And I know that the players are pros
and I know that they have to have a certain
amount of card. They're making millions of dollars, but they're
all testosterone fueled alpha man and there's going to be

(02:07:45):
some of this kind of stuff going on. If you're
going to solve the problem before it starts, you've got
to make sure the fans know that you get unruly,
you're ejected.

Speaker 1 (02:07:57):
Money as you know. Truever, they make those announcements before
every contest, whether it's the NBA or you know, the
you know, don't interfere with the game in progress. That
kind of stuff continue on, though. But you're not wrong,
because I think your point is it's enabled. Go ahead.

Speaker 21 (02:08:13):
Yeah, I get it, and they say this stuff, but
it's like any PSA you listen to from Schoolhouse Rock
all the way to you know what we got. Now,
you've got to demonstrate it. You've got to say, hey, security,
that is going to get your.

Speaker 5 (02:08:28):
Butt and get you out. And that's the way it goes.

Speaker 1 (02:08:31):
And oh, fair enough, fair enough when you have a
zero tolerance and you know you start hall yeah, are
you're not wrong?

Speaker 5 (02:08:38):
I'm yeah, he listened.

Speaker 1 (02:08:42):
I just want to make sure I get to the
other caller real quickly. I want to give you your
ten cents on Aaron Rod's all right thoughts.

Speaker 21 (02:08:47):
Aaron Rodgers, I know why nobody believes in Rodgers. Nobody
said why. The man has demonstrated his power. He can
do ayahuasca, he can go to dark caves, and everybody
loves him. It's like he's Gretchen Windmer giving his acolyte doritos.

Speaker 1 (02:09:02):
Everybody just bows down to it.

Speaker 21 (02:09:08):
He demonstrated he can get his buddies on the team,
he can fire coast, he can get all this stuff done.
Nobody believes him because he can do whatever he wants
and really will go Saron Rodgers. So, and he's gonna
have a legacy of crud when he blows it because
he just doesn't have it anymore. And then it's gonna wonder, well,

(02:09:29):
why don't we bow down to this guy for so long.

Speaker 1 (02:09:32):
All right, you know what, fair enough, excellent call, Trevor,
And it's because they're desperate to win a championship. Desperate
people do desperate things. Appreciate you a lot there, Trevor.
Linda from Kalamazoo the final word tonight on the whole ordeal.

Speaker 11 (02:09:47):
Hi uh, good morning. Well, first of all, Bernie, good
to hear you used to listen to it in Detroit
and follow you in now. It's great. As far as
the Peaceball situation, yeah, I'm uh. I think it's the
players have to be held accountable, but the fans do too.
I agree with what Trevor just said. I couldn't. I

(02:10:08):
don't think I can add much more to that. It's
just it's sad for the game. It's it's unsportsmanlike. It's
you know, we're supposed to go to these games, no
matter what sport you're talking about, to have fun, enjoy
the game. Yeah, you want to, you know, tease the
player a little bit, boo a player once in a
while if he makes a bad call, that's fine, do

(02:10:31):
an umpire. But you don't get you don't get personal.
You don't throw stuff on the field. You don't use profanity.
Just go out and have yourself a good time.

Speaker 1 (02:10:43):
Well said, I mean idealistic, yes, but sure. Unfortunately about
ninety eight percent of the people do just that. Do
you believe Aaron Rodgers? Yes or no? No? Okay anything else?

Speaker 11 (02:10:57):
Uh, Well, all I can say is what do you
think of our Tigers? You think they got a.

Speaker 1 (02:11:02):
Chance, Absolutely got a chance. They got to trek school.
But go on Saturday. I expect I do expect the
Tigers to win that game. And then you saw what happened.
I covered the six team that no one thought could
beat the Yankees, and they sure did. And then well
got to this. You know, we'll take it one at
a time. Appreciate you checking in. Yeah, ain't no party

(02:11:23):
like a Detroit party. So you have it. We just
had some tremendous calls tonight. Don't necessarily have to agree
with all of them, but I appreciate, uh, the raw
emotion and whatever was coming out of people's mouths tonight.
They meant it, Okay, it wasn't for effect. And I
think the majority is that, if I read it correctly,

(02:11:45):
that most people feel the players were slightly more culpable
as to what happened Sunday night at Dodger Stadium, and
almost nobody believes Aaron Rodgers except for Fernando. And that's okay.
We don't always want to agree. Coming up, I want
to get the crew involve. We got to get these
guys weighing in, and we got to get to college
football Week seven previews. I'm telling you, between Texas and Oklahoma,

(02:12:06):
Penn State US see right on down the line, there
are some fabulous, fabulous matchups on Saturday. As things start
to take shape, And what did we learn last week,
we'll share it with you. Remember Bama went down? Keep
it locked. You're listening to the Bernie Frattle Show on
Fox Sports Radio. All right, back in the Bernie Fraddle Show,

(02:12:26):
Fox Sports Radio, coming to live from the Tireck dot
Com studios here in Las Vegas. Again thanks to all
the great colors during the midnight hour. Need to move
on now because the Big Ten game of the year
is set. Remember Oregon is now part of the Big Ten.
They're currently ranked number sixth in the country. They're undefeated,

(02:12:48):
Ohio State number three. Both took care of businesses last weekend,
set up a monster matchup leader this afternoon at Austin Stadium,
and the Buckeyes offense a little bit to get rolling
against Iowa, but once they did stop turning with the ball,
they cruise thirty five to seven. Similar situation in Eugene

(02:13:09):
on Friday night last week. Dylan Gabriel gave Way a
couple of first half scoring opportunities, but once they got rolling,
they put Michigan stayed away pretty easily and they could
have probably shut them out, but they sacked some people
won thirty one to ten. The other top of the
Big Ten is trying to separate itself right Penn State.

(02:13:29):
They smothered UCLA twenty seven to eleven last week. Michigan,
I think you can pretty much stick a fork in them.
They're four and two, Washington also four and two. You
do have some emerging contenders. Let's talk about Saturday, though,
because there are some phenomenal games that we've been waiting for.

(02:13:50):
I think it's I think you can make the case
that Saturday, not even close, is the biggest college football
weekend of the year thus and the biggest game of
the year thus far. Will take place at seven thirty
Eastern time in Oregon four to thirty Pacific on NBC.
This is all you need to know. With all due
respect to Alabama Georgia Saturday night's game, but you don't

(02:14:12):
Hoio State in Oregon, I believe is the biggest of
the first half of the twenty twenty four season. That's
because it's the first time the two top three teams
are scoring off, and the winner of this almost as
surely should take the top spot from Texas I think
in next week's ranking. The other thing about this game

(02:14:34):
Saturday night in Oregon autsin Eugene. He's at the winner
and will take the pole position in the Big Ten
championship game, where the loser they're still going to have
to battle Penn State in Indiana for a spot by
the end of the year. You know they say styles
make fights. Well, let's let's look at some matchups, because
there's gonna be some household names in this game. If

(02:14:56):
Oregon has designs on winning this game, and I before
the season, I picked Oregon to win the Big Ten,
I don't know. Now, I don't know. They claim to
have solved their offensive line problems, we'll see. I don't
think Ohio State's played its best game in their burying teams.
They've been playing with their food a lot. I would
just say this, You drill down on what I believe

(02:15:17):
is the most important aspect of this game, and that
is if the Ducks don't slow down the best pair
of running backs in the nation, quin Shawn Judkins and
Travon Henderson at Ohio State, it could be a long
day for Oregon. I really mean that typical Chip Kelly fashion.
Remember he's the OC now at Oregon State or in
Ohio State. Excuse me. They have been crushing teams between

(02:15:40):
the tackles with a heavy dose of zone runs. The
Buckeyes have the second best offensive grade in the Power
for when you run between the tackles, and by the way,
their offensive production isn't just a case of having elite
running backs. The Buckeyes are top ten of the nation
in a run blocking grade, and they lead the Power

(02:16:03):
forward with three and a half yards before contact per attempt,
which means they are opening holes. Now Oregon, there are
no slots either. They're currently tied eighth overall in defensive
overall grade. But the Ducks here's the kicker, only ranked
fifty eighth in run defense grade. Their defensive line has
been the soft spot They ranked ninety fifth in run

(02:16:25):
defense grade, so none other defensive lineman currently hold a
grade that's considered very high. That could be an issue.
Oregon's offensive line entered the year is a top five unit,
but during the first couple of games of the year
against the Idaho and Boise State, they struggled. They struggled.
The weakness of the Ducks offensive line is in the

(02:16:45):
interior that's going to have to be cleaned up. It
feels like a thirty one to twenty eight type game
with Ohio State coming out on top. That's what it
feels like. I'm not betting this game. Oregon has not
played up to the usual offensive standard this year. That'side
from the New York and State game, and they don't
complete deep passes and finished drives like they used to.

(02:17:06):
Ohio State's run game and defense it's going to be
a tough, tough pill to swallow for Oregon. It just
feels like Ohio State's poised to take this damn thing.
We'll see. That's why you gotta play the game. That's
why I want to watch it. That's why I think
it's the biggest game of the day. It's not Texas
Oklahoma Texas is ranked first, Oklahoma's respectable. They're ranked eighteenth.

(02:17:32):
When Ewers returns, he's back after suffering that abdominal strain
against Texas San Antonio about a month ago. No question,
you know, by the way, arch Many did a fine
job when yours was out, but yours is back. Oklahoma
ranks inside the bottom twenty and Power five and passing grade,
pass blocking grade, and receiving grade. How the hell they

(02:17:52):
are going to score points. Texas's defense in their front
seven is tremendous. There lead the country in coverage grade
and Texas is second in the country in allowing the
fewest passing yards per game. Their secondary was their achilles
heal last season, but they fixed it. They got transfers,
and they've done a better job at just developing. The

(02:18:13):
bottom line is Texas can really defend vertical throws the
Sooners from what I have seen of that passing game.
How they challenge that Texas secondary who remedied their issues
from a year ago, I don't know how they do it.
I don't know how they do it. And the Sooners,

(02:18:34):
I don't know how what kind of pressure they can
get on Quinn Ewers or even even if arch Manning
were to play. So the truth of the matter is
Oklahoma is going to have to really get Ers off
a spot, pressure them, hit him, you know, sack him.
The problem is Texas is maybe the best offensive line

(02:18:54):
in the country. Their past blocking grade is one of
the highest in the country. Another issue for the Sooners
is Viewers is really good under pressure. His stats under
pressure are volatile. So the truth of the matter is
Oklahoma's gonna have to be very aggressive. This feels like
a double digit win for Texas. I don't think I'm
being hyperbolic on that one. The on the only chance

(02:19:18):
as soon as really have is just somehow I make
this a low scoring game. I don't see how they
do that. I don't think they keep Texas under thirty points,
and I don't know how they held Oklahoma scores twenty.
So there's my take on that. Finally, you know, I
don't want to I don't know why people say that. Well, well,
college gene flies across country. That's a problem. Now if
you're the better team, it's not a problem. You fly

(02:19:40):
across country, you get off the fields one hundred yards long,
you know, fifties five yards wide. All those years at
USC flew across country. I saw him go to Auburn,
beat him twenty three to nothing in Auburn. I saw
him go to Arkansas, beat him fifty one to nothing.
I remember SEU went to Alabama in seventy eight, beat
him twenty four to seven. You know, look, if you're

(02:20:02):
the better team, you know the flights are nice and comfortable,
and you have plenty of arrest and plenty of time
to get your sea legs under you. But these are
the kind of games where Penn State plays with their food.
I've never been a Penn State believer, and that says
Joe paternal Left. Look, you can ask the question when
the cross country a trip heard Penn State coming to

(02:20:22):
SC they might because it's Penn State. Okay, I get it.
Michigan went to Washington last week and lost to an
unranked Washington team. So what, Michigan's not that good? USC
went to Minnesota, travel nineteen hundred miles out of the US,
he's that good. Miami traveled three thousand miles to cal Yeah,
they are trailed by twenty five, but they won. They

(02:20:43):
were the better team. So all of a sudden, here's
the new narrative. Penn State's traveling across three time zones
to get to Los Angeles and take on the USC. Yeah,
it's going to be a difficult game because that s
He's got a decent offense, and I don't know how
good Penn State really is. They kind of bore me.
Milner Moss is going to have to get the ball
out of his hand and he can us he needs

(02:21:04):
to protect him and they might be able to. Penn
State's defensive line has the potential to be very dominant
in this game. And if that's the case, Penn State
gets a big road win and they probably cover the
number if that happens, if they dominate USC's line. Okay, well,
I got to tell you. Though UCLA ran the ball
against Penn State, Ucla is just not that good. Finally,

(02:21:26):
the other game, Arizona at BYU. BYU looks like the
genuine article to me. I think they get Arizona, I
really do. We'll see Wildcats have the burner quarterback. BYU's
run game isn't great to expose Arizona like others have.
But I will tell you one of the biggest reasons
for BYU's surprise season. Here's a quarterback Jake Rhetz laugh

(02:21:48):
if he gets the ball going in the air. And
by the way, Arizona has struggles defending the run. Listen,
that's just one. Those are three of many games on
Saturday that I'm really looking forward to seeing, and I
know you are too. Let's not forget old Man LSU.
That should be a doozy as well. Iowa State West Virginia,
that'll be fun. And of course, how can I forget
Kansas State at Colorado, Kansas State laying points on the road.

(02:22:11):
Colorado is still on rank, Kansas State ranked eighteenth. Give
it up to Dion, They're getting it done. That's a
toss up game. That's a toss up game. Coming up,
we have Chris prohfests World of Soccer. But first we
go back to our guy, a chef, Kevin Wyren with
the latest.

Speaker 24 (02:22:27):
Yeah Bernie.

Speaker 6 (02:22:27):
Major League Baseball the NLDS Game five in Los Angeles
and for the second consecutive game, it's La winning in
a shutout.

Speaker 7 (02:22:38):
Here's the pitch Tante swings chopping a third back head
picked by her Nanes.

Speaker 8 (02:22:43):
There's the dow hint, the dole in promo.

Speaker 1 (02:22:48):
Fireworks go off.

Speaker 9 (02:22:49):
And straight away centerfield as the Dodgers shut out the Padres,
hitting back.

Speaker 6 (02:22:55):
To the back game that was Steven Nelson on FSR
Philly at KLAC and the Dodgers Radio Network, LA getting
their runs each on a solo home run by the Hernandezz,
Key K and Tioscar Hernandez each going deep for Los
Angeles account for the two runs, and they were able
to back the strong start by Yoshinobo Yamamoto five shutout innings.

(02:23:17):
The bullpen would take care of the rest as they
help LA advance to the NLCS where they will face
the New York Mets beginning on Sunday evening and the
first pitch is set for eight o'clock Eastern time. The
Alds will have a game five the Guardians and the Tigers.
That game has been moved up to one o'clock Eastern

(02:23:38):
time tomorrow because of inclement weather. And in college football,
number sixteen, Utah taken down on the road by Arizona
State twenty seven to nineteen. Northwestern with a big win
on the road against Maryland thirty seven to ten, and
UNLV blows out Utah State fifty to thirty four.

Speaker 14 (02:23:57):
Back you Bernyright Chef, warm up those vocal courts for.

Speaker 1 (02:24:01):
Saturday Night Buddy, So we covered all yere on the
Bernie Frattle Show. That is why, whether it's on the field,
off the field, in season or out of season, there's
always content. When it comes to Chris Burfett's World of Soccer.

Speaker 2 (02:24:23):
The thrilling finishes the international drama. It's all here in
this report from the World of Soccer, Bernie.

Speaker 26 (02:24:37):
We're down the stretch here and coming up on Decision
Day in Major League Soccer.

Speaker 1 (02:24:43):
Now, what is Decision Day?

Speaker 26 (02:24:44):
Decision Day is the final weekend of the MLS regular season,
and it is what has been called that because every
team plays every one else on the same day on Saturday,
October nineteenth, So the next time you hear the World
of Soccer, Decision Day will be upon us. So it's
a time to look ahead to that. As MLS club's

(02:25:06):
jockey for playoff positions, I'm not usually a fan of
how MLS has structured themselves to be much more American
than other soccer leagues around the world. But this is
one of the benefits is we get to talk about
playoff seating for a lot of teams trying to come
in and as a reminder, the MLS format, one through
seven are automatically seated for the round one best of

(02:25:28):
three series. Well, eight and nine in both the Eastern
and Western conferences play in a winner take all wildcard
match before going on to those best of three series.
So looking at those tables so far right now, Toronto
FC is kind of hanging around number ten in the East. However,
they've played one more game than a lot of other people,

(02:25:50):
so it is unlikely to see them make it in,
whereas Philadelphia Union probably has some tiebreaker situations where they
could easily if say DC un Montreal happens to take
a loss, they could easily leap frog one of those
teams directly into either eight or nine and get from
the outside and come on in from the cold. However,

(02:26:12):
for the top of the a lot of these there's
not a lot of drama left. We know Inter Miami
will be king number one out of the East, and
we know La Galaxy will be king number one coming
out of the West. LAFC maybe has to hold off
the Sounders in Real Salt Lake coming up behind them,
but a lot of the drama has really been resolved.

(02:26:32):
As I said, there's not a lot of drama between
nine and ten in the West. So really, if you're
looking for anything on decision Day, keep your eye on
the Eastern Conference teams, especially with Philadelphia Union, Atlanta United,
Montreal and DC United. Now, drama there may still be minimal.
After all, Philadelphia Union only really has nine wins to

(02:26:53):
its name so far nine ten and fourteen. That is
a losing record. It would be hard press to justify them,
and any kind of same with Atlanta United. It'd be
hard pressing to think of any of these teams as
playoff teams, especially when MLS is getting their wish and
you look to the top and you see the clear
differentiation between someone like those teams struggling around five hundred

(02:27:15):
and say Inter Miami at twenty one, eight and four,
or the Columbus Crew or even FC Cincinnati, who each
have seventeen wins a piece, and ultimately, this is probably
the playoffs that MLS wants at this point, the surprise
of Galaxy, notwithstanding coming in from the cold after a
long long time of seeding Los Angeles to LAFC, a

(02:27:37):
far more successful crosstown rival. In fact, we might even
be getting an l traffic in the playoffs if one
and two end up meeting each other, but also seeing
the return of a powerhouse long term old school club
like the Seattle Sounders or the reigning champions and the
Columbus Crew, and certainly the up and cutters of FC

(02:27:58):
Cincinnati and less. We forget most of all in that
number one seed, inter Miami and the Golden Child himself,
Leonel Messi, who MLS has moved heaven and earth to
try to make sure that Leonel Messi will be front
and center in front of your televisions, that he is
the star that everyone wants to see. And sure enough
he is trying to get back to health, and inter

(02:28:20):
Miami has come on just the right time as everything
seems to be coming together. We'll see how much the
hurricanes have affected all of this. I know Messi has
been actually training with Argentina rather than his own club
amid the hurricane watches out there. The story hasn't really
been written yet on inter Miami. I've seen some people

(02:28:41):
asking if this is maybe one of the greatest MLS
club's teams to have been assembled. I don't really know
about that. I've seen some pretty dominant stuff from Sounders
and Galaxy.

Speaker 1 (02:28:51):
Through the years.

Speaker 26 (02:28:52):
But I will say right now they are the prohibitive
favorites for the MLS Cup and the one that everyone's
tuning into. But we shouldn't really discount a lot the
other teams out there. Columbus Crew can absolutely give them
run for the money, so can the young club of
FC Cincinnati. And while this is all going on, another
big name has come over to the Major League Soccer side,
and that is Jurgen Klop. Not quite fully so what

(02:29:16):
Jurgen Klopp's job is is with actually with Red Bull itself, yes,
the energy drink company who has many many toes in
a lot of different parts of sports across the world,
and especially in soccer. He is taking on the role
of head of Global Soccer for the Red Bull Group,
which includes New York Red Bulls RB Leipsig RB Salzburg

(02:29:39):
both Leipsig and Salzburg of course in the German Bundesliga,
and Klop himself is German and the Brazilian club Red
Bull Bragantino and there is a minority stake in Leeds
United for the Red Bull group as well. Jurgen is
taking on a part in strategic vision quote unquote and
mentoring the group's coaches, as well as helping with worldwide

(02:30:01):
scouting operations for the Red Bull Group and all of
their clubs. I don't think, however, it means he's any
closer to coming back to managing. We have to remember
that this is a man who just over the summer
decided he didn't want to come back and manage Liverpool,
and that's he won a lot of titles with Liverpool,
He got a lot of accolades with Liverpool, but ultimately

(02:30:24):
decided this wasn't for me, and then he turned down
the US men's national team job, which have ultimately went
to Mauricio Poticino. And he's turned away a lot of
other people who come knocking on his door asking him
to manage. But being in the Red Bull Group means ultimately,
at some point, speculations and tabloids will continue to swirl
around him, asking him to see whether or not he

(02:30:44):
will come back. Could he come to MLS, Could he
be the manager for New York Red Bulls? Well, I
don't think the New York Red Bulls are really in
a position where I can really fault their manager right now.
Could he be coming home to Germany? Who knows, But
I also think that that's not something you just kind
of shake off overnight, unless a lot of that stress
was being in the Premier League or even being among

(02:31:07):
the Big Four, but that would include two of those
clubs I mentioned in the Bundesliga, which is part of
yuefa's Big Four. Either way, it's something to keep an
eye on as America waits with baited breath for decision
day and the MLS Cup playoffs to happen after that.
And yes, that does as always mean, Leonel Messi, we
will see you next time on the World of Soccer, Bernie,

(02:31:27):
where we will start talking about the MLS Cup playoffs
and much more from the World of Soccer.

Speaker 1 (02:31:35):
All right, do you have it? Itin't just football FOTB
l L. Sometimes it's football fut b L. Well, i'll
tell you what it is. It about eight hours and
twenty minutes from now, it's going to be Tigers, Guardians,

(02:31:55):
Turk Scoogle versus Matthew Boyd. And I gotta say, if
Saturday's game is anything like Friday night's game, buckle up.
Three of the four teams have punched their ticket for
the NLCD for the League Championship Series. We respective League
Championship Series. We got one to go and this promises

(02:32:16):
to be a doozy as well. Now, who's gonna win
that game? Well, I got four questions. Answer those questions
and we'll tell you who wins the game. By the way,
football fans, be sure to tune into Fox Sports Radio
every Saturday morning, beginning in nine am Eastern six am
Pacific for Countdown to Kickoff, presented by bet MGM, Brian no,

(02:32:38):

covered three hours before college kickoffs. Every Saturday morning, listen
to count Down to Kickoff, presented by bet MGM right

Coming up, we wrap up the show. We ask the
four questions, answer them, we'll tell you who wins Saturday

(02:33:00):
between the Guardians and the Tigers. I'm Bernie Fradderwer comes
to you live from the Las Vegas Fox Sports Radio
TIREC dot Com studios. Don't go away and listening to
the Bernie Fraddle Show on Fox Sports Radio. All right,
we're wrapping it up on the Bernie Fraddle Show, Fox
Sports Radio. Come to you live from the tire act
dot Com studios. Here in Las Vegas. Before I go

(02:33:21):
any further, I want to thank my broadcast team back
in Los Angeles with me since eleven pm Pacific time
on Friday night. Patrick SWEEKA and tonight, and of course
uh the chef Kevin Wirrett on all the updates in
Mark Ramsey, our technical producer, guys turning all the dials
keeping us glue together. Outstanding job by the callers tonight

(02:33:45):
on the midnight hour. Another Rockets midnight hour, and you know,
we'll see where this goes if what the Jets do
on Monday night and Aaron Rodgers now has this speed
bump out of the way, it's a way I see it,
the more excuses as if he had any before. And
we'll see how far the Dodgers can carry now that
they have gotten the pesky padres out of the way.

(02:34:06):
By the way, before I get to the Tigers, Guardians
and two stud pitchers going Saturday. You know, in my
lighter moments, I wonder if we will ever return to
some semblance of normalcy in baseball when a pitcher actually
pitches complete games. I don't think so. I think the
game has changed not to return because of the amount

(02:34:27):
of money involved in agents and it's all about longevity.
But what if I told you back in Junus seventy four,
a guy by the name of Nolan Ryan once through
two hundred and thirty five pitches in a single game
against Boston. Yes, oh, did I forget to tell you?
He made his next start on three days arrest and
won the game. And oh yeah, after that he was

(02:34:51):
so worn out he only pitched nineteen more years. Yeah,
true story. Junas seventy fourth through two hundred and thirty
five pitches against Boston, the game, win thirteen innings, He
struck out nineteen walk ten phase fifty eight batters, only
allowed three runs, made his next start three days later
and won the game, and pitched nineteen more years. Just
say it. Just say it, because when four and two

(02:35:13):
thirds now becomes a quality start, I'm allowed to ask questions. Okay,
all right, Trek Scouoble and Matthew Boyd. Eight hours and
ten minutes from now, these are the questions. Can Scooble
do it again? Can he win the game by himself?
This has been ad nauseaum throughout the postseason. The Tiger's
strategy for winning the Divisional Series is clear. From the beginning,

(02:35:37):
just sneak out one win from three pitching chaos games,
which the Tigers have a jhnch have been successful at
doing that Schooble doesn't pitch, and then win when Schooble starts.
Two of those three legs of that strategic game plan
are in place. The Tigers won Wednesday's non Scooble game,

(02:35:58):
and they won Schooble's game to start. Now comes Game five.
Schooble unquestionably the best pitcher in baseball. He was dominant
in Game two, but it should be noted the Tigers
didn't have the lead when Schooble left the game after
seven innings. It was Carry Carpenter's three run homer in
the ninth inning, when school was long gone that provided

(02:36:21):
the three month that the three nothing win. Now that's
to say Schooble can shut out the Guardians, but the
Tigers still need the score to win. Carpenter may not
play Saturday. Let slip to the other side of the coin.
Can Matthew Boyd do it again? Well? Help The reason
the Tigers didn't have the lead when Schooble left Game
two was largely because of Matthew Boyd. Who, by the way,

(02:36:43):
was Schoobl's mentor when he first came up with the Tigers.
Boyd also threw there's that number, four and two thirds
scoreless innings. Now, they were stressful. He was in and
out of trouble, but he got out of trouble every
single time. I would suspicion Matthew Boyd will be on
a shorter lease Saturday than Schooble. To the point that card,

(02:37:05):
you know, the Guardians might do the old, you know,
Johnny Holstaff approach, or they'll let Boyd take the ball
of the innings. Either way, both teams are going to
lean on their starters. Now, if somehow the Indians get
four and two thirds innings out of Boyd and the
Tigers that he keeps him off the board, you couldn't
ask for much better than that, which raises the third question,

(02:37:29):
can either offense truly wake up? Game four was five
to four. It was the final score that was the
first in the series that wasn't a shoutout. After the
Guardians threw winning Game one, the Tigers didn't sew in
both of the next two games. So Laye Thomas got
an RBI single on the top of the first on Wednesday,
and that was basically a Siri lee from Guardians fans. Hey,

(02:37:50):
they could at least muster some offense. At least we
could score a run. Neither one of these teams is
exactly the twenty seven Yankees offensively, and you already know that.
So there's question number three. Question number four. Could a
guy like Jose Ramirez for Cleveland one of the best
hitters in baseball? And he's been that way for a
long time. He's been finishing in the top ten of

(02:38:10):
MVP voting six times, but he's never really had that
postseason magical moment. He's a career two thirty hitter in
the playoffs. He's only two for fourteen this year in
the ALDS. But if he hits a dinger, well, who's
gonna carry the torch? That's the key. Someone has to
step up Saturday answer that question. Who's gonna have maybe

(02:38:33):
that Reggie Jackson moment or that Nolan Ryan moment to
put the team on his back and advance to the
Alcs against the New York Yankees who are waiting and
by the way, the Yankees are vulnerable. It's gonna do.
It's gonna do for the Bernie Fraders show back on
these airwaves Saturday night, eleven pm. Keep it locked up
next to Great Anthony Argano.
