Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to no Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh let's go, baby, let's go on a Friday night
into a Saturday. It is the Plank Show here on
Fox Sports Radio. Mark's running it, Breeze guiding it. I'm
just trying to stay within those parameters within the tracks tonight.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
As always, if you know what you want to talk.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
About before we get into anything, very easy, you can
pick up the phone and call us. Eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six
six three sixty nine.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
I would say, I mean, we're not in.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Competition with each other, right, So what I'm like, probably
the overnight shows the most calls, the most interaction. I'm like,
not trying to start a fight with shows that take calls.
O odd couple takes calls, Cavino and Rich takes calls.
I want to bring the caller back to sports radio.
That is my one Christmas wish this year, and we

(01:02):
do so throughout the night tonight, and hopefully we get
good perspective, angles and analysis. And I don't know, I'm
sure there's some drunkenness that slides in there somewhere. Eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine
ninety six six three sixth nights. I'm a big Twitter user,
so you can find us on Twitter. I'm very easy.

(01:23):
It's at Plank show Boy. That's an out of context.
You can find Bri on the Twitter machine. It is
very easy. Just think of Kyle Korver and find her
at Bree b r I E Denise twenty six and
everybody go follow us at Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
You know what I was thinking about? Good by the way,
good evening, Brie.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
I assume that everyone's cleared out and you've been able
to slide into your co hosting chair tonight?

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Are we good?

Speaker 4 (01:46):
Role just got here?

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Huh? Okay? Hi? How are you? Mark?

Speaker 3 (01:50):
How are you tonight? Everything good? Were good?

Speaker 4 (01:52):
All is good.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
The first segment can be a little bit challenging because.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
And it's not I'm not knocking anybody, gotch Why am
I so worried about upsetting people tonight? What is wrong
with me? I've spent too much time around my daughters today,
That's what's wrong. They're very sensitive. That's what it is.
But the show before us is everyone's clearing out and
who's ever producing for Jason and Mike and tonight it
was Aaron and Aaron and Jason. It takes him a while, right,
They've got to pack everything up and we got to

(02:19):
move in. We only get so much time at the
top of the hour, so we kind of fly. I'm
I'm literally throwing up a hail Mary whenever I'm like Brie,
what's going on, hoping that they've got.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Out of her way.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Literally, I just like ran over. Yeah, Hey, so I've
got I've got this idea because I'm thinking about you know,
we have we have calls, We've got tweets.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
I want to start, you know.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
And this is my homage to my buddy Petros and PMS,
because I I love that show and whenever I was
in Los Angeles, this was about fifteen years ago, because
Petro's Some Money been on the air.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
For a long time, right, twenty plus years, twenty plus years.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Whenever I was in town a while back, I heard
Petros refer to his phone as the super Secret Textosa Liigne.
So I completely use that on my local show NonStop.
And now that we've gone national, I'm kind of thinking
if we could bring a version of the Super Secret
Textosa Ligne to the program and actually just give out
the number, because listen I I've got ways. You know,

(03:24):
I've got ways, Rauther. This we can talk about and
discuss it, because I think it's me. I'm more apt
to interact through texting than I ever am on picking
up the phone and calling. Right.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
I think we're all the same way.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
If someone calls you and their number is instored on
their phone, on your phone, do you answer it right away?
Or do you google the number?

Speaker 5 (03:42):
Nowadays it kind of comes up with the name sometimes
really yeah, sometimes, and actually I'm more if it's like
an area code I recognize, I'm like curious, I'm like, oh,
who's calling me?

Speaker 4 (03:52):
I don't pick it up?

Speaker 6 (03:52):
Well, okay, if a name is not connected and that'll
pick it up.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
I'm googling that number. And sometimes I'll google the number.
I'm like, oh, no, I needed to answer that, right,
you go, no, But I'm just I'm my mind's been
working this week, Brie. I'm thinking, let's take this to
another level, so we'll we'll discuss as the program goes on.
But it was one of those one of those great
ideas I had doing like a fever dream, which is

(04:18):
what my my nap before this program every Friday night
is it's like a crazy fever dream and I wake
up like, did we just do a show? So lots
to get to on the program tonight, maybe even cooler
things in the future. Stay tuned now, I'm eating up
with a topic and I'm just gonna bust myself out
right off the top. I know, Brie, whenever we worked

(04:39):
on the rundown today, I kind of put this in
a second segment, but.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
I just I can't do it, can't do it, can't
win with them.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
When I heard Jason Martin and Aaron Torres talking about
Aaron Rodgers's It's almost like you just threw me a
change up and I knew it was coming right down
the middle. You put it on a tee For me,
it was, I don't know, a screen pass against an
all out blitz, whatever way you want to talk about

(05:08):
something like taking candy from a baby, because I don't
know why, and I maybe it's maybe I'm kind of
falling for the the Aaron Rodgers aura, if you will,
the everything about him that is making everyone lose their
mind and be he's abnoxious, He's watched whatever it is.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
I can't get enough of them.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
And if you're gonna say the dude hasn't earned the
right to take his time, and if you're then don't
let him. I mean, that's the funniest thing. Doug Whaley
comes out this this week. Doug Whaley, who got fired
from the Bills and spent ten years with the Steelers
and found himself in trouble all the time. I don't
know much about Doug Whaley except that every single time

(05:54):
I ever heard about him, it was it was something embarrassing.
And he comes out this week and says, oh, he's
holding him a hostage, and then he got eight million
sports talk coasts that got a pair of it.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
It's like, oh, I hold him hostage?

Speaker 2 (06:06):
How how?

Speaker 3 (06:08):
I mean, if he's holding them hostage, then move on.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
If he's not that great, and if Aaron Rodgers is
not that dude anymore, then why are you waiting for him?
It was the dumbest thing I think I've ever heard
in my life. And nobody pushed back. They're like, oh, yeah, yeah,
holding them hostage? How have the Steelers given him a deadline?
Have they said you need it by this? I mean?

(06:33):
Or is it just a bunch of Pittsburgh media people
that are losing their minds because I mean, Pittsburgh's letting
him take his time, and there's an actual decision to
be made here. I am eating up with it because
I mean, come on the picture. I mean like, come
on the picture, dude. It's got a blanket wrapped around
him on the beach. He's got corded headphones on. So
whatever those swim trunks were this week, I just it's

(06:57):
it's almost as if it's everything that people push back against,
and Aaron Rodgers continues to do it. You want everyone
to fit in a nice, little tidy kind of box.
You want you want it to be, Sam Darnold, Oh,
Gino Smith left, well, you slide right in there, and
oh the jet you slide right in here, justin fields

(07:17):
and oh the raiders up peek care you slide right
in there, Gino Smith.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Here's Aaron Rodgers. It's like, you know, I I want
to take my time on this. This is my last stop.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Probably and everybody you haven't earned that. You don't care
you're holding him hostage? Is he Because if he was,
then why wouldn't you just move on? But if he's
so terrible, and if he's so awful, just move on. Now,
I know, Brie, this is gonna come off as me
defending Aaron Rodgers. I am not. I still think that

(07:47):
there is this point to where, all right, enough of
the tom foolery, let's go play some football. But last
I checked, it's.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
All so March. It's all so March.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
And as this show progresses tonight, we've already pushed into
the fifteenth day of March. And here in about an
hour so it'll be well, yeah, the fifteenth day of
March on the West coast. So I'm kinda busting myself
out before you have to, Bria. I'm eating up with
a story. I can't get enough of it. Help me,

(08:20):
help me? Why can I not move on from this?
And I'm the person that likes to try to be
cooler than the room. I don't want to fall for
the low hanging fruit. I want to be more creative.
I want to come up with topics and angles that
aren't debated.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Every day on first take.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
And the tired, made up debates that happen all over
sports radio. But I just I can't get enough of
this right now. And I'll tell you what I think
the core of it is. Call me crazy. I think
you can win with Aaron Rodgers. And I think if
Aaron Rodgers is a Pittsburgh Steeler, I think they're gonna
win some football games, all right. Is that where you
throw the cold water on me to chill me out

(08:58):
right now on this hot take?

Speaker 7 (09:00):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (09:00):
I mean, I can kind of see why you're kind
of wrapped up in it.

Speaker 5 (09:02):
I also think there's just a lot of like storylines too,
Like does he also not even want to go to
the Vikings because you're want to do that whole like
Brett Farv, Like you know, end of career tour guy
doesn't want to follow in those footsteps.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Like that's an interesting storyline too.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
I agree. I agree. Everyone's kind of connecting the dots,
la la la, and like, oh hey, look he's doing
the same thing that Brett Farv is doing. It seems
wild to me. I just call me crazy. But teams
that knew they were going to have a quarterback vacancy

(09:37):
situation opportunity good teams. Two teams that were in the
playoffs last year, in this conversation right now, still well
want one team though so well still want to look
at the possibility of.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Bringing in Aaron Rodgers to start a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
I mean, is that really washed the plank gets a
matter of the options that are out there right now,
is I mean there weren't great options out there to
begin with, was there? I mean, think about it. What's
been the best quarterback move so far? I'll tell you
what it was. It was the Rams re upping with

(10:13):
Matt Stafford. You can try to Jets fans are drunk
on Justin Field's highlights from high school in the preseason.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
Cool greater fans. I mean, listen, it's been a week
and I think we're.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
Still kind of trying to figure this one out right,
don't really know, but you we don't have to destroy
Derek Carr and I But I mean, honestly, there hasn't
really been this bumper crop of dudes that are out there.
I mean, Sam Darnold's one year, one good year. Is
that a complete and total career resurrection? I don't know,
but it was good enough to get him what one

(10:45):
hundred million dollar deal? Three or one hundred million dollar deal.
So I don't think we had the greatest crop of
free agents. I think the best move was the guy
that ended up staying where he was. And I don't
think Aaron Rodgers is is a bad Consolation prize whenever
you are what are we a weekend of the legal

(11:06):
tampering period we can half into in the official league
was what Wednesday of this week, which everyone nothing really
shocked us on Wednesday except we had kind of forgot
about the Deebo Samuel trade. And you're like, oh, forgot
about that. So this is this is my fore warning. Okay,
Brie Mark, maybe we need to have an alarm. I
can talk about this story all night long. We have

(11:29):
other topics to get into, but the future home of
Aaron Rodgers and his ability to still be a dude
I think are interesting debates. I'll tell you right now.
I came into the off season as a diehard Raiders
fan wanting nothing to do with Aaron Rodgers in the
Silver and Black, and then about I don't know, one

(11:53):
day into it, whenever the Rams and the Giants and
Raiders and whoever started talking talking about a Matt Stafford trade,
and the first name that was brought up as a
potential replacement for Stafford in Los Angeles was Aaron Rodgers.
Suddenly my mind kind of started to change a bit,
So tell me I'm crazy. He called me out. Eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. We'll get to your
calls coming up here in just a bit. Do we

(12:17):
need breathe tonight to talk about Lebron James and what's
going on with this with his hammy or is everyone
just kind of accepting that they're being smart about it.
It's gonna be okay, no reason to panic right now
for Laker fans.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
Am I the only one that actually doesn't think he's injured?
Is that? Am I kind of in the minority there,
I might.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
Be, I'm yours oh, okays, because you remember when he
did that tweet maybe like maybe three weeks ago with
their upcoming schedule, and he was like is this real
or whatever? And then it was I just thought, Wow,
that's really convenient timing. And then all of a sudden,
now he's day to day and he came back to LA.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (12:52):
It's just a little interesting, but yeah, I think they're
being smart about you know, just you know, just kind
of monitoring m load management. You know, he's up there.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Smart way to look at it.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Sham's said today on the Pat McAfee show that it's
a groin injury and that James who's not with the Lakers.
He's I heard a Seger say what he's at his
son's high school game. Is not expected to return on
Sunday when the Lakers play the Suns. Quote, they can't
rush it. He's not expected to play Sunday on ABC

(13:24):
against the Suns. And I would expect him to still
miss another week, so that would put him at around
two weeks.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
So I mean one of two things.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Right, you can be paranoid fan and say, oh my gosh,
this is worse than we thought, or you can go
tinfoil and say, which I'm not arguing with right now.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Brie, is he even really hurt?

Speaker 2 (13:46):
By the way, the NBA deciding to try to flex
its muscle on the Thunder for that Trailblazers game a
couple weeks ago, and none the games they decide to
go after teams for the funniest thing ever, they got
through the Thunder what say, like one hundred thousand dollars
fine for you know, non approved rest days or whatever

(14:10):
fits under their stupid policy. And the Thunder still won
the game against the Trailblazers and it was a freaking
awesome basketball game.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
Triple double, right.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Yeah, Jayleen Williams did the Jayalen Williams. It never plays
the other Jalen Williams. But we got some NBA that
we're going to get to tonight, and can I interest
you all the little college hoops? Are we are we
march madnessing here tonight in the program or no, eh.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
I'm I'm ready with I'm every right now.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
I put I put a list together of things to
look for in the Field of sixty eight selection show
on Sunday, from not only winning your bracket, but if
you are someone that likes to wet the beak a
little bit, if you missed it tonight, it was a
pretty wild finish between North Carolina and Duke. As a

(15:03):
matter of fact, let me take you back to the game.
You know, North Carolina is fighting Scratching and Clawn. They're
on the bubble. There may be on the right side
of the bubble. And they have come back even though
Duke was without Cooper flag. They have come back from
being down big down. Bad has North Carolina in this game,
and they've got a second free throw to tie the
game with his seconds left, Lubin to tie the game

(15:23):
with four point one. The second free pro is good
violation on Withers from moving early.

Speaker 8 (15:32):
Said to me, there is a lane violation on Jalen Withers.

Speaker 9 (15:38):
He thinked like he was gonna go before the shot
was taken, and you're not allowed to make any movements
before the SHOT's taken.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
I want to tell you something. I love an analyst
that can answer a rules question right away. But I
know the frustration of that moment. But get my man
a cup of coffee. I mean, he's just lane violation.
It's ober. Let's go home, you guys at the bar
postgame dranks, Let's go lane violation. By the way, you
want to hear the other side of it. Here's the

(16:06):
duke call of the lane violation. The second one is
on the way. It's a lane violation.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
He made it.

Speaker 10 (16:13):
But where they're stepped in the lane, it's it's herdover hand.
The blue level lead stand seventy two, seventy one with
four point one to go, where there's got an early
start and the Blue dovels still lead by one.

Speaker 3 (16:28):
There is your drama. There is your drama.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Not a lot of buzzer beaters tonight in college basketball.
You had some pretty sound beatings tonight, especially in the
SEC in college basketball, seventy four to seventy won the final.
Duke won the game, and I think that was as
close as we came in any of the games. Tonight, Oh,
Louisville and Clemson was a really good game. A Hunter

(16:51):
for Louisville Atalie for Louisville's stud He had twenty points
and nine boards. But really it was kind of blowout
Friday night in college's basketball.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
But we'll get you.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Some news notes and tidbits to get you ready for
the field of sixty eight. So with my admitted infatuation
with the Aaron Rodgers story, we keep our eyes on
all things in the NBA and college basketball. And oh,
let me go ahead and finish this with a quick
kind of circle back to the NBA. For the Calves man,
every single time you try to bury the Calves, every

(17:22):
single time you try to say it doesn't matter because
the Celtics are gonna get them, or it doesn't matter
because no one cares. It's the Calves. They just keep
on winning. Sixteenth straight win for Cleveland tonight as they
beat the Grizzlies one thirty three.

Speaker 3 (17:38):
De Seger.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
We'll have update to the top of the hour all
night long. We'll keep you up to date on all
things and hit your calls for the next three hours.
Right here, It's a Plank show on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
Got so excited off the top this happened to me
now two shows in a row. Then I failed to
mention that we're coming to you live from the tire
rack dot com studios. Tire rack dot com will help
you get there and unmatch the selection fast, free shipping,
free roadhats for protection in over ten thousand recommended installers
tire rack dot com. The way tire buying should be
just just a quick question before we get to the

(18:22):
phones at eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine nine six six three sixty nine. Are
you Brie, are you Mark? Are you guys immediate bracker
bracker bracket filler outers or do you like to take
your time? Let me give you a reason why I
ask because our man, the stinking genius, aren't he Spaniard?
He has to have his bracket filled out first. Don't

(18:44):
know why. It's just like his thing. I'll get a
I'll get a text from him at the brackets release
at like five thirty Central time. By like five thirty five,
it's like, hey, big fly, how do we submit our bracket?

Speaker 3 (18:57):
What do we have to do? Fox sports dot Com
help me out?

Speaker 2 (18:59):
How do we do it? Let's oh, it's just it's
got to be done for him right away. I'm more
of a time taker. How about you, Bree, you like
to fill it out right away or take your time?

Speaker 5 (19:07):
I actually love to fill it out right away, and
then like the next time, I'll do another one after
I do a little bit of research.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
So I'm actually cheap. I have too.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
I have one that's like to go with my heart,
and then I have one that goes in my head.

Speaker 6 (19:20):
How about you, Mark, I don't fill out a bracket.
I just watched the friend we're doing this. They got
a bracket and after the first day they're crying. I
just love that part. I hear the pa favorite fill
it out their brackets. They're all excited. The first day,
Oh my gosh, I crying.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
I had lost. I had lost a final four team
in the first round for like five years in a row.
I mean, it wasn't even funny. And then last year,
last year, I had Kentucky going to the Final four,
and I thought about it and I thought, they're not
going to the final four. That's just not going to happen.

(20:01):
And so I went and I changed it. The day
before I said, I never change it. Changed it ended
up one of the bracket challenges last year, so I
might have broke the streak and the jinks.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
So I'm feeling pretty good.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
But coming up a little bit later on in the program,
we'll have we'll have opportunities for you to share bracket
thoughts and inside. Yes, I'm sorry, I'm sorry Shady Sean
Ford twenty, but there will be some basketball talk on
this year program. There will be some basketball talk on
this year program.

Speaker 6 (20:32):
Do you have an overall strategy when you fill it out,
when you're on your first day of trying to figure
it out? Do you have a particular strategy all gut
making it out?

Speaker 2 (20:40):
It's all gut, gut and chalk. Right, I'm looking at
I'm looking at all the higher seeds and then I'll
kind of stare at it for a little bit. I'm
like what's happening there, you know, like it's going to
talk back to me to something. So then here's another heart. Yeah, okay, yeah,
Brea goes with her heart. I go with insanity. Here's
something else. If everyone tells me an upset is gonna happen,

(21:01):
and especially by the way, no fit. But the college
basketball nerds like they're the worst in filling out their brackets.
Torres is kind of the exception, but most of the
college basketball gurus out there are terrible when it comes
to filling out their bracket. So whenever you hear like
the Jeff Goodman's or the Mic de Corsi's, no offense,
guys love you when they're like, gosh, you got to

(21:21):
be all over McNeese, don't pick me, Niese right when
they're all over, dude, look out for Wafford.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Don't pick Wafford.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
That's just that's kind of if everyone's in on a team, Mark,
I'm out, just Tavlin because we don't know, media doesn't
know what they're talking about.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
It's kind of the way that I look at it.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
I guess all right eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six sixty three six nine.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
Let's go to the phones.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Steven la is going to kick us off tonight. A
lot of different topics that are out there on the table.
Steve good evening. Welcome to Fox Sports Radio by Plank.

Speaker 12 (21:57):
Nice to talk to you, Wilson. I'm big Ram fan.
They do a couple things smart. They get rid of
the guy a year earlier than they should.

Speaker 13 (22:07):
And I believe I didn't see.

Speaker 12 (22:10):
The Jets, but apparently DeVante Adams has a lot in
the tank left. So I have seen two different mock
drafts now that Pittsburgh took a receiver, having the Rams
trade up to twenty one with Pittsburgh to either go
get Tyler Warren or a Mecca a Buca. What do

(22:31):
you think of that?

Speaker 2 (22:34):
So, by the way, from that theory, it sounds like
the Rams are still looking to out of their receiving corps, right,
is that what I'm kind of taking from this?

Speaker 12 (22:43):
Well, because last year he wanted to go after brock
Bowers and they tried to move up McVeigh and they
have four six round picks and two thirds. So in Pittsburgh,
you know, he one is the sweet spot because apparently
there's a couple of teams like the Chargers and Cincinnati

(23:06):
that like Warren and Colston Lovelin. But if you can
move up and get tired. I didn't realize Tyler Warren
is almost sixty seven. He's gone. He's a matchup problem.
So I like the Rams and as far as the Lakers,
everybody calmed down. They were without their whole front line

(23:27):
this whole week. The Western Conference playoffs are going to
be very interesting this year, and you're gonna and if
one last thing with these MLB network guys, the hater
rad on the Dodgers. One of the guys, Dan Pleizek.
Prakoda has him at one hundred and four wins. Dan
Pleaseek had the nerve, he's a Philly fanatic, had the

(23:50):
nerve to come out and say the Dodgers would win
ninety six games.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
Why do you think well? I think well. I was
about ready to ask, why do you think that they're
hating on the Dodgers because everyone hates on teams when
they win, right, especially when they think they're spending like that.
I hear you. Interesting call, Thanks buddy, appreciate it, Steve,
have a great night. Good way to start it off.
First off, let's talk about the last thing. First, Bree,

(24:16):
They're gonna hate on you because you spend all the
money and because you keep getting better, and because.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
We built.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Everyone loved Dave Roberts, and everyone loved the Dodgers' story whenever.
In twenty twenty they kind of made I mean, listen,
the Dodgers have always spent a lot of money. You
can't see her going. Man, what a Cinderella story. These kids,
these these Dodgers, Man, they never get a break. It's
just maybe one day, one day they can keep trying
to punch up and finally find themselves in a position

(24:45):
where they can get something done, just to you know,
that franchise battling. No, they've they've always been elite, and
they've always spent money. But Dave Roberts was a beloved figure,
and the Dodgers found a way in twenty twenty, and
maybe for a lot of us it was sports wasn't
their Sports wasn't happening. We needed something, and you had
the World Series in Texas and Dodger fans were able

(25:08):
to I'm one of my best friends, well, Patty Gas,
who's the head coach of the Oklahoma Sooner softball team.
She's a lifelong Dodger fan, and she went to Dallas
is a short drive from Oklahoma, and her and her husband,
lifelong Dodger fans, went down and she always tells me
as wild. They were a grown man weeping right because
Dodgers hadn't won a title since eighty eight. You know,

(25:29):
It's like, it's not like they had not been closed.
Is that proper English? They'd been close, but they hadn't
won a title since eighty eight, so you had all
the questions about it. Can they finally get it done?
And in twenty twenty, they finally get it done. Well,
what happens as soon as they win it, it's like, oh,
it's not a real title. Doesn't matter because you didn't

(25:50):
have to play on the road or any fair you know.
I guess you could say criticism, but bri they go
on to continue to add pieces to the arsenal, and
now everyone's mad about it.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
Whatever. Listen, they'd been taken out.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
By the Padres couple of years, Padres and the Diamondbacks
right in two years, so they're like, we got to
keep getting better, and they did, and now now everyone
wants to hate on him.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
It was a It was a pretty quick one to eighty.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
Wasn't it really quick? Just out of nowhere?

Speaker 14 (26:16):
And Dan Pleasac Like, I'm telling you, I like watching him,
but he's also one of those guys that when he
says something bad about your team, and I don't know
if you guys are like this, Like if you say
something bad about my team, my first response is, who
the hell are you to say that?

Speaker 2 (26:33):
You're like a middling middle reliever. Your baseball card was
a common card. I mean, what are we even doing
right now? You get defensive whenever people take after the Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
Like I do or not.

Speaker 5 (26:45):
Yeah, I just kind of think it's just jealousy at
this point, Like it's like, you know, you hate him
because you can't be him, you know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (26:50):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
One more thing from Steve's call that I want to
get to NFL draft talk now. If you want to
get Tyler Warren this is that's my opinion. I think
you need to be in the top ten. So he's
gonna be the first tid End off the board. You're
probably gonna have the first Tiden wide receiver and running
back go in the top ten, and then you might
not have one from that position go maybe until twenty

(27:17):
So if I'm the Rams and I'm sitting right now
at twenty six, you're probably gonna have one of those
receivers fall to you, if it's Matthew Golden, if it's
a Mecha Buca. But the moment I started thinking about
the perfect fits for the Rams, and when I started
thinking about guys that you could see putting on a
Rams jersey, and next thing you know, you look up,

(27:39):
it's like, oh, dude, that guy's leaning the league in receptions,
a Mecca Buca, He's just I think he's I think
he's the best receiver in the draft.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
Is he the most physically gifted?

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Is he the guy that's gonna wow you and when
he does all his drills and know, but he's just
gonna make place. He's gonna catch the ball. He's the
all time leader receiver at Ohio State University, and he's
done so with guys like Davante Smith being there, Marvin
Harrison Junior, and all he does is go and make plays.
So if that dude ends up with the Rams, money,

(28:11):
But I think if you're wanting Tedoro McMillan, or if
you're wanting Tyler Warren. I think you need to get
up to the top ten. All right, Travis in West Virginia. Travis,
what's going on? Man?

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Welcome to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
How are you good? Good?

Speaker 15 (28:25):
Thanks for taking my call I was calling. First off,
I agree with you about the hole Aaron Rodgers thing.
I'm a Pittsburgh Steeler fan myself, and.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Yeah, I can't know about it.

Speaker 15 (28:37):
I want him actually to go to the Steelers because
at the end of the year, I mean, he's forty
years old, he came off of achilles injury. What were
people expecting him to do? And then at the end
of the year he played very good, So I'm all
for that. And then second off, I want to know

(28:57):
your take about Rich Rodriguez at West Virginia about the
new dancing on TikTok being hard edge?

Speaker 2 (29:07):
Did he what did he did? He put that in? Really? Yes?

Speaker 15 (29:10):
He said in the press conference he said, uh, so,
we want our players to be hard edged. He did
not man them from TikTok, but he said, we don't
want our players on TikTok dancing doing the new age thing.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
What is he doing? All right? Thanks to phone cr
I appreciated Trav. What win games, win football games. This
is this is not a hot take what rich Rodriguez
has done. All right, this is gonna pay me my
Oklahoma peeps. You know where we're going here, Gunny the

(29:49):
Sooner fans that are up late. He took Britain Vinnibles protege.
He took one of the best young defensive coordinators from
Oklahoma and brought him to Morgantown, paid him upy of money,
made him the associate head coach. I mean, you had
a big time get one of the best. Now, you know,
there's still questions about zach Alli. I became a Zach

(30:11):
Ally fan. I like him a lot. But the coaching
staff that he has built and he's put together is solid.
The early recruiting and the amount of money that they've
spent on their rostered West Virginia solid money. Let's go.
I don't know if you could have made a better

(30:32):
choice based on, you know, one of the bigger names
in media, being an alum and not really having guard
rails where someone's gonna say, Pat, I don't think you
should talk about West.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
Virginia that much.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Well back back, if he says like you, I'm gonna
talk about whatever I want right, so you've got one
of the I guess you could say, biggest voices that's
there supporting you. It's pretty cool right now if you're
a West Virginia fan, win games and then start laying
out all these rules.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
I don't want any TikTok dances.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
Why not?

Speaker 2 (31:06):
It's I mean, we listen. Can you sound bree? Could
I sound more like an old man? If I'm sitting
here going for this program, I do not want any
of you people tiktoking and dancing around my locker room.
Like let him celebrate, man when a game first, When
a game first, then start laying it out. But Travis,
beyond that, and I found the audio, I gotta play

(31:27):
it later. Beyond beyond that, I think everything that he
has done has been a home run.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
So far.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
It's been a really good hire and it's been really
fun to see. I think West Virginia is a place
that is an underrated and underappreciated football program. Been there
a lot. It's great. So if rich Rod can reignite it,
that's that's awesome. But is it's a great Gary de
Labate once said about the iPad, I do think that

(31:55):
this from rich Rodriguez is a bit of a stumble.
You want to try to see how Stephen Casey's doing here,
bri Or you want to wait till after the break.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
Yeah, see how he's doing.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
Let's see how he's all right, Stephen Casey. You's the
last word this segment. Man at eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox. What's going on?

Speaker 16 (32:12):
Buddy oh playing don't apologize for Aaron Rodgers, the American hero,
a legitimate American hero, the greatest gun slinger of the
wild wild West. But by the way, don't don't shams,
don't don't accept the report of Lebron's ballet the undercover

(32:34):
drama Kings Ballet shams. Uh. Charles Barkley is telling people
he's out for the year, but well, we'll see. But
you know, these these ungrateful Pittsburgh fans, I'm talking to you, you.

Speaker 7 (32:45):
Don't want this.

Speaker 16 (32:47):
The greatest, the greatest uh pastor of the game has
ever known. I hope he goes to Minnesota, Minnesota, So
you know, these these guys are this man is he
may be president someday. He does exactly what he wants.
It's working. The giants up there offer anytime chefter and
all these ninnies over at the at Disney are getting

(33:10):
or getting pod you know, he's do you know this
guy is doing something?

Speaker 17 (33:13):
All right?

Speaker 16 (33:13):
Look at look at poor Tom Brady. His whole life.
You know, he married, he married a hot, hot model
and had a family and tried to tried to take
off the day so to make her happy, and she
ended up having a baby. By the kids. Judo trainer
Aaron Rodgers does what he wants. He does what he

(33:34):
Winners do what they want. They do exactly what they
want when they want. Dad Patrick wanted a bunch of babies.
Aaron Rodgers said, no, it's not time for that right now.
I'm gonna do exactly what I want. But I feel
like I'm going to say what I feel like. I'm
gonna do what I feel like. If you don't like it,
you can you can go go pound.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
Sand Thanks the phone call, Wow, he got through. Hey Psycheota,
did you guys ever take piano lessons? He had the metronome.
It's like he had the metronome that was keeping a
rhythm to his call. It's like I was jamming along.
I don't even know if I heard what he said,
but I was down with it. I know, Stephen Casey,

(34:14):
I think we're in the same We're in the same
group here. I Oh, by the way, Bri, I we
did fail to mention there is quite the interesting story
that I think Todd McShay has has really fired up
New Orleans fans about and maybe the quarterback situation isn't
settled in New Orleans, but I mean the reality is

(34:35):
I mean, Derek Carr's deal is set up to where
he's not I don't think he's tradable anymore. But we'll
get to that coming up here in just a bit.
But I got to go back to what Stephen Casey said, Man,
I'm I'm right there with him. He's still one of
the best arms in the NFL. Go look at the
final ten games with the Jets last year. It was
a year off an Achilles injury. Guy can still sling it.

(34:57):
Aaron Rodgers was never a dude that was going to
tough can take off for ten to fifteen yards. He
was never that guy. All right, open up a line
for you. We're talking about my obsession with the Aaron
Rodgers story. At eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven seven nine ninety six six three sixty nine.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
If you need someone who lives.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
It, eats it, breathes it, owns it, shops it spot well,
tell her I was selling bree on Tractor Supply.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
During the break love it. I'm your guy.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
I can't even see that. Hi, Chris Plank here for
tractor Supply. I don't know what I'm doing, So I
go to tractor Supply and then il smart. We just
we just made an incredible marketing campaign right here. We're
always breaking boundaries here on the overnights on Fox Sports Radio.
There's things that are done here that no one does. Right,
taking calls, no one does that in sports radio. Right

(36:40):
reading tweets, nobody does it. So tonight I would like
to break more ground by doing something that is very
rarely done, if.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Ever, in sports radio. Are you ready?

Speaker 2 (36:53):
I have put together a Twitter poll. A Twitter poll
has been placed on at Plank show on Twitter. I
know this is unique, and no one does it. People
do get sarcasm ryh Brie. I mean.

Speaker 4 (37:06):
No, no, they should get it. They should. I'd be
worried if they did it.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
Hey got Moron's talking about no one does Twitter polls,
and I saw Dan Patrick do one yesterday. I decided
that I'm going to add see I'm trying to bring
the textoso line national, and now I'm trying to bring
Twitter polls national. And asked a very simple question at
plank show who won free agency? Now I've got to

(37:32):
be more of a wordsmith. But the question is, with
a decision from Aaron Rodgers looming and the NFL Draft
forty days away, who has won the off season so far?
Now we are off to a resounding start because I'm
up to forty seven whole votes in the first about hours.
So we've just now started talking about it, and as

(37:55):
it stands, it's very split. I put four choices on there,
put the Bears, paid Commanders, and Seahawks, and I would
love for you guys to give some options as well underneath.
But right now I feel like we're pretty smart. The
Commanders are leading the way at thirty six percent, adding
Deebo Samuel, bringing in Laramie Tunzel, reupping with Bobby Wagner

(38:16):
and Zacker. It's good stuff. The second pick the Seahawks
kind of surprises me a little bit. Where's emmittt Emmitt?
Is this people just trying to get They're so happy
they've got read of Geno Smith? Is that what this is?
I don't know. Is it because of Cooper Cupp and
because that's the recent signing, so everybody's talking about it.

(38:37):
I don't know, but it is. It is interesting that
they were the second choice, followed by the Bears, who
would be my pick, and the Patriots, So if there's
someone I had to laugh because one of the first
comments was was my man Poppy, who said, I wish
it was the Raiders. This has been one of those

(38:58):
weird years, one of those weird years where the Raiders
have lost so much, and yet I don't know how
to feel about it because it's all guys I thought
would be good. Robertsplane U, Divine Diablo, you know, Trayvon Merrick,
you finally had a good season, Nate Hobbs, like all

(39:18):
these guys that I like, and they're gone. But you're like,
what'd you really win with them? You're really gonna lose
your mind losing a dude where you finished check notes
four and thirteen last year. So I'm with you, Poppy,
I wish it was the Raiders. And I don't think
the Raiders have had a bad free agency. It's just
there's been a lot that's going out the door. So
go vote at Plank Show and we're slamming your calls

(39:41):
when we come back. So if you're on hold hanging there,
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven
nine ninety six, sixty three sixty nine tons on the
future of Aaron Rodgers, and a lot of college basketball.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
Later in the program. So get in here.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
Let's break it down throughout the night with The Plank
Show on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
Don't listen Fox Sports Free.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
Hey, I did want to mention a couple of things
right off the top of our number two. First, as always,
we come to you live from the tire rack dot
Com studios. Tire rack dot Com will help you get there,
an unmastered selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire rack dot Com

(40:22):
the way tire buying should be. That's number one. Number two.
I take pride in the fact that we are I've
been told, as far as the ratings are concerned, the
number one choice of truckers that drive through the overnight
across America. Now, I don't know if I can confirm
this or not, but my grandpa was a trucker. I

(40:45):
always have had a soft spot in my heart because
Cebrie as a little kid, we didn't have these things.
You guys had phones right now, you have phones you
play on them when you're going on road trips. We
had CBS and we would talk to all the truckers, right,
It's my grandpa's favorite thing. So I bring it up
to say, guys, guys, gals, be safe out there all right,
especially if you're traveling across you know, Oklahoma up to Kansas.

(41:09):
In Arkansas, there are some wild storms that are hitting
right now in Memphis and the roads in Memphis, especially
whenever you first get in off what I forty, it's
a disaster.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
So guys, be safe out there.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
I know everyone's kind of smart and they've got all
the technology to let them know.

Speaker 3 (41:24):
We have been ravaged by wildfires in my.

Speaker 2 (41:27):
Home state of Oklahoma today because we've had it's just
a mixture.

Speaker 3 (41:31):
Of winds and just fire.

Speaker 2 (41:37):
Can't think the other way to put it, and it's
been a disaster. So thoughts and prayers to everyone that's
out there battling through it, working that forty hour week
for a living. Just keep it on down the line, which,
by the way, forty hour weeks.

Speaker 3 (41:48):
Don't exist anymore.

Speaker 2 (41:49):
So thoughts, man, be safe out there, be smart, don't
push it stop if you have to, because if you're
traveling through that area in the Midwest. Buddy, it's a
mess right now. It's it's an absolute mess. We add guys.
We had a game tonight that got canceled because of wind.
Have you ever heard of that before in your life, Brie,
ever heard of that before? Mark canceled because of high winds? No?

Speaker 6 (42:13):
Never, Never, Well, stuff in Chicago sometimes because of I mean,
I guess rain, but maybe sometimes of wind.

Speaker 3 (42:20):
Maybe a couple win. I've never seen it like this.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
They have the are they the hullabalooes, the big the
big dust storms that will roll through like West Texas.
That's happening pretty much everywhere in Oklahoma, and that's pushing
into Arkansas right now. So I only bring it up
because I love you, guys, and I want you to
be saved out there, So just be smart. In the meantime,
we're here to talk sports and stuff. We got Breeze

(42:44):
threes coming up in about an hour from now, which
I'm very excited about.

Speaker 3 (42:47):
Don't you tell me?

Speaker 2 (42:49):
We got calls we want to get to at eighty seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety
six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 3 (42:57):
But before we get to the phones, I did want to.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
I did want to get everybody's take real quick with
the crew on the latest edition of the program. And
that is a Twitter poll. And the question is very simple.
Who's winning free agency so far? Who has won the
off season?

Speaker 3 (43:16):
In the NFL?

Speaker 2 (43:17):
The Commanders are starting up their lead. It's at thirty
seven percent. The second choice right now is the Seahawks
twenty five percent. You know, Mark, you got to be
excited seeing the Bears on this list though, right.

Speaker 6 (43:29):
It's it's so early. It's a brand new season. All
possibilities are on the table. Just good things could becoming,
you said, like the hopefulness of every fan because a
brand new season and the old stuff is gone, the
new stuff is coming.

Speaker 2 (43:47):
Let's hope for the best out of the old in
with the new. Brie, Is there someone I should have added?
How did you feel about the Twitter list? Which way
would you vote?

Speaker 4 (43:55):
I would have voted the Bears?

Speaker 3 (43:57):
Me too?

Speaker 2 (43:57):
Okay, me too, the Bears. By the way, in case
you're wondering, where's my list? On the Bears, Oh, here
you go. Completely rebuilt their offensive line, traded for Joe Toney,
traded for Jonah Jackson, and sign center Drew Dolman, and
they might not be done. You know, you're sitting right
now with the Bears in the draft. You're sitting with

(44:18):
the tenth picking the draft, and you're probably going to
have the second best offensive lineman there for you or
maybe you know, I kind of think the best offensive
lineman in this draft is Josh Simmons. But the Ohio
State product is coming off an injury, and that's kind
of tough to gauge. So they might not be dumb.

(44:39):
That's the way I'm going right now. Does that seem
weird to say the Bears about Caleb?

Speaker 4 (44:45):
It's all about Caleb? What can we do to help Caleb?

Speaker 2 (44:47):
That's what I was thinking they and they did. Seems
like they did. And oh, by the way, maybe we
should also pause and say they did bring in the
best coach right that everyone thought would be available. So
I think the Bears are the vote right now? Are
the pick right now? All right, you want to get
some calls going, lines are jammed up, Let's go eight

(45:08):
seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine
ninety six sixty three six nine in order of the
longest way. Peter in California, Good evening, Welcome, to Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (45:17):
What's going on? Man?

Speaker 7 (45:19):
Well, you know what, man, you just blew what I
had out of my head.

Speaker 13 (45:23):
Of course, go ahead, if you guys, If you.

Speaker 7 (45:26):
Guys have wildfires going on in the Midwest, Oh my god,
oh my god, my heart goes out to you.

Speaker 2 (45:32):
You guys lived at Daniell, you lived at Man you
know it.

Speaker 7 (45:35):
Yeah, we we did with us in northern California and
all over California. Yeah, in January. So hey, I just
want to, like, you know, give give blessings to everybody there.
The next thing I want to say is love to
breathe and.

Speaker 1 (45:59):
Benz Lorena Lorena.

Speaker 2 (46:03):
Yeah, she's all kinds of gifts in the studio.

Speaker 7 (46:07):
Yeah yeah, yeah, No, No, the I would I would
call him the bumper Queens, Okay, because they come up
with such great music. Okay. The thing I was going
to say is like, oh my god, is there anyone
in the NFL who actually wants Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 3 (46:30):
Really?

Speaker 7 (46:30):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 2 (46:32):
I'll tell you what I think though, I would say
Russell Wilson is someone who he has meetings with the
with the Browns and the Giants today, so I can't
help and wonder Peter if those if those were meetings
that he says like, hey.

Speaker 3 (46:43):
Something, I gotta go meet with somebody.

Speaker 2 (46:44):
I feel like they're still in I think Aaron Rodgers
can win games. Peter, I think he can do it.
I think he still can.

Speaker 7 (46:51):
Well, yeah, possibly, but it's it's kind of like, you know, ancient,
the ancient quarterback, Like I mean, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
I'll tell you this much, and I appreciate the phone calling,
the patience, and the kind words about my friends in Oklahoma.
By the way, full disclosure, Bree doesn't pick the music
for our show. Isn't that right, Brie. I don't want
to take any any fire away here from Mark.

Speaker 18 (47:15):
No.

Speaker 5 (47:16):
Yeah, I'm actually a producer. And then Loraina is our
technical producer for Ben Allers, so she handles all that.

Speaker 2 (47:22):
The bumper queen, Yes, Mark's the bumper king on this
year program. I think is the way that we would
look at it. I'm not gonna fight with you guys tonight.
I don't think that Peter and I were fighting. I
just think now this is a phrase that Brie's tired
of me saying whenever it comes to the Saints and
Derek Carr.

Speaker 3 (47:37):
I think you can do a lot worse than Aaron Rodgers.
You really can't.

Speaker 2 (47:41):
And I know because I watched Desmond Ritter try to
play quarterback this year. So to me, I'm not ready
to say, oh, Aaron Rodgers is washed, he sucks. He
looked pretty good in those final ten games for the
Jets last year, right, they just they fell apart as
a team. I would I really think that that's a

(48:01):
great fit of Pittsburgh and this whole idea. This is
just me whenever everyone tries to tell you, well, why
would you want to go there?

Speaker 3 (48:09):
Because you've got to deal with this team and that
team and this that's the NFL.

Speaker 2 (48:13):
Man. Is everyone just trying to get to the Colts
so they only have to deal with the Texans every year?
Or is everyone just trying to get to I don't know,
the Saints so they just have to deal with like
the Falcons and the Bucks.

Speaker 3 (48:25):
I mean, it's just not reality. Every team's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (48:28):
And Arnie and I like to fight because he'll say
six some of the eight divisions are already decided, and
literally like two of them are, right. I Mean, we
act like the NFL has become incredibly predictable, which it
it really hasn't. It really hasn't. Back to the folks.
Colin is in Alberta, Canada. Good morning, Colin. How are you, Bud?

Speaker 19 (48:50):
Hey, Chris, how are you doing tonight?

Speaker 3 (48:52):
I'm good, I'm good. I'm I'm rested. Tonight.

Speaker 2 (48:56):
We had a lot of free time so I was
able to sleep read. We're ready to go, man, how
about you?

Speaker 19 (49:01):
Oh, I'm good. I'm awake way too late, but that's
all right. So I got to throw something at you here.
I really want your kind of your opinion on my
take because last Sunday I tweeted you guys about DJ
Metcalf getting traded and signed, which seemed kind of weird

(49:21):
because the Steelers are good at drafting and developing receivers,
and then what do my Packers do? They go out
and sign Aaron Banks a guard when that's their bread
and butter, drafting and developing offensive alignment. Right, So, and
I kind of get it because he's got an injury history,

(49:41):
he's maybe, you know, he hasn't lived up to expectations.
So if the Packers can iron that out, they have
a really good guard and it helps for their depth
on their line. But I think the reason why they
want to do this is because this is kind of
a way I look at it is this is Jordan
loves make it or break a season. Okay, Now, when

(50:05):
I say I don't mean like, you know, if if
they don't make the playoffs, they're going to trade him
or cut them. But more of he's been with he's
been the starter for two years, and and the thirty
five years that I've watched NFL, it always seems like
it's that third year is when the quarterback pops, Like

(50:25):
it's just that the lights the light switch turns on
and they figure out, you know, how to play the game,
reading defenses and and just how not to lose a game.
And and I'm not really worried about the first half
of the season. It's more that last seven games, like
from Thanksgiving on. You know, if they go like five

(50:46):
and two and all of a sudden, you know, he's
he's figured out how to read defenses better, he's better
with his mechanics, the and just being smart with the football,
then they don't have a problem. But if he falters
and they go like two and five and he throws
a bunch of picks, I think they are. I think
the front office is looking at this this thought this

(51:06):
this season is if he if he falters, they're gonna
have to go un draft a quarterback. So I'm kind
of seriously what you think about.

Speaker 2 (51:15):
Okay, okay, this is I appreciate the phone call, Colin,
and by the way, I love your tweet, So keep
him coming. Okay. So the question is, is is this
a make or break gear for a guy like Jordan
love To where you look at it and you say
is contract wouldn't necessarily tell you that, right His contract

(51:36):
would lead you to believe that they're at the least,
at the least committed to this guy for the next
I'm going to make sure I'm not speaking out of
my backside here, Oh when did Okay, here we go,
You're at least committed to him through twenty six now,

(51:58):
I mean, I guess technical he doesn't truly become an
an unrestricted free agent until twenty nine. But I'm always
intrigued whenever I look at these I got spo tracked
that I'm looking at right now where it says potential
out twenty twenty seven. So I've always been a little
bit confused by that because you know his dead cap.

(52:23):
Let me see here, his dead cap number is still
pretty high. Like you're still looking at forty two mill
and seventy four mili as a cap hit in twenty
seven and twenty eight. Now, I think we've seen this
in quarterback deals, right. You're never going to get to
that point in a deal because by that point in
a contract.

Speaker 3 (52:41):
You're either renegotiating or moving in a different direction.

Speaker 2 (52:45):
I'll tell my one thought here that I have is
when you have a team that has been good at
drafting a position and suddenly you see them going out
and getting said position in free agency, That to me
says they don't like what they've seen in the draft,
which could could be possible here at Green Bay. I
don't think there's a lot of people like banging the
drum for interior offensive linemen in this draft number one,

(53:08):
but number two. I mean, we're in that stretch where
people are starting to talk about the twenty six draft
class at quarterback, you know where they might like it
a lot. You know, you got guys like Arch Manning,
who has never really start, who has not started a
conference game, who has played like one snap in a

(53:31):
meaningful college football game, but suddenly you have people talking
about him like he's the next coming. It's one of
the greatest overhyped things I've ever seen in my life.
And I'm a fan of his as an Oklahoma guy.
Sorry to say I'm a fan of his, but I
just I don't know how you could ever live up
to that hype. The guy has not taking a snap
yet as a starter as the guy, and people are

(53:54):
already like, oh, I think the Saints should take for him,
go get him. Names like Niko Yama Yava. Iyama Ayava
out of Tennessee is a very interesting possibility, right. John
Mattier at Oklahoma is a guy that I think NFL
scouts are gonna love. You start looking around college football,

(54:17):
there's a lot of intriguing guys that I think pro
scouts are starting to think, Huh, if you have another
year where it's kind of a dud for Jordan Love,
then sure, I'm maybe you start looking that way. But Colin,
I know this is a lot on Jordan Love and Brie.
I know that you follow the league as tightly as anyone.
I don't think the Packers are trying to look for

(54:37):
an outright now with Jordan Love. I think they gave
him that contract last year. I think he battled through
injuries early last season. I feel like he's developing into
the guy that they thought he would be.

Speaker 5 (54:48):
Right, I think in all the teams across the league,
I think the Packers have one of the best quarterback situations.

Speaker 4 (54:54):
I don't think I would have thought otherwise. Movie.

Speaker 2 (54:57):
Yeah, but I mean, he watches every in, every second
of every game. He's seen that heartbreak. It's I've said
this before night, and I believe it in my hard hearts.
I think there are of the thirty two NFL teams,
I think maybe three of them would have a universal
decision that the fan base approves of their quarterback. Maybe four, right,

(55:23):
Kansas City, Baltimore. Who would you think, Oh, Buffalo, Buffalo, Yeah,
maybe Cincinnati. But even in Cincinnati, he's like, well, I
don't know, man, he's got hurt a couple of times,
and Joe Burrow, but I would probably put.

Speaker 3 (55:40):
Cincinnati in there.

Speaker 2 (55:41):
Outside of that, everyone else thinks that there's someone that
could do a better job than the guy that they've got,
or they'll say go draft somebody whenever. I mean, if
you look at the quarterback success hit rate in the
first round. It doesn't there good recently, but yeah interesting.
All right, let's get a break. I see you there,
truck Or and af hanging and they're andre in Massachusetts. Gunny, Chad,

worker thinking in box is the tissue for everybody crying?

Speaker 3 (58:16):
Yeah, Yeahause, it's gona be so sad. I'm prepared for it,
I know, But I just I wonder.

Speaker 2 (58:22):
I wonder if we can get some I know every
year everyone gets fired up about filling out a bracket,
and I know college basketball has a lot of wards.
I know they got a lot of issues. Nil's kind
of really really creating havoc. But I'm curious to see
what the buzz is like for the field of sixty
eight and how much talk we get here on Fox

(58:42):
Sports Radio. In the meantime, I've gone with low hanging
fruit tonight, Aaron Rodgers Quarterbacks. Judge me if you want.
But we got some calls to get to, so let's
do it. Trucker Nav is in Oklahoma. Oh my gosh,
what's going on? Trucker Nav? How are you?

Speaker 7 (58:58):
I'm good?

Speaker 20 (58:59):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (59:00):
Man?

Speaker 2 (59:00):
If you're driving through Oklahoma. Be safe, blowing like crazy?

Speaker 21 (59:03):
Oh yeah, yeah, I've already passed dust storms last couple
of days in Arizona and New Mexico.

Speaker 2 (59:11):
It was bad. I'm glad you say, buddy, what's on
your mind tonight?

Speaker 7 (59:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 21 (59:16):
Earlier this morning, when I was finishing up my shift
in Arizona, I saw a car and I had the
license plate THEE Long and ten minutes earlier, they were
talking about the Twitter jabbing going on between Michael Parson
and DeMarcus Lawrence, and I liked, I don't know why

(59:38):
Michael Parsons took it personally, because to me, when DeMarcus
Orange said that, hey, he signed with another team here
as clearly he was going to win a Super Bowl
in Dallas, that to me was a direct shot at
Jerry Jones and his protegee. Hey, the most overrated game
manager to step on the grid iron. The coda, pre Scott,

(01:00:00):
what do you think about that?

Speaker 2 (01:00:04):
Trucker, Nat, You've given us one of the greatest uh
intentional mispronunciations in the history. Man guy, thanks for the
phone call the code to pre Scott Brie. Where do
you stand on da code of pre Scott? Right? Now
the Dropty's tone with the cowboys.

Speaker 4 (01:00:22):
Pre Scott, not post Scott, not Prescott.

Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
No Scott.

Speaker 4 (01:00:28):
Okay, gotcha.

Speaker 2 (01:00:29):
If you're if you're wondering why they're fighting, why DeMarcus
Lawrence and Mike Parsons have a little Twitter beef, this
part of it.

Speaker 3 (01:00:38):
Change. The scenery is always good, you know. But Dallas
is my home made my home there. You know, my
family lives there if they're ever going to be there.

Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
But I know for sure I'm not gonna win a
Super Bowl there.

Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
Boo bird.

Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
I I had put in the Rundown tonight wondering why
there is so many people that are just fire mean
it necessary to take a shot at the cowboys on
their way out the door. You know, the the shot
by DeMarcus Lawrence was one. And then you had Jordan
Lewis who took a shot as well. And oh, by

(01:01:15):
the way, he signed to deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
So he was with Dallas for eight years and now
he goes to Jacksonville and suddenly he's he's happier than
where he was. Okay, I don't know. It's it's it's
easy to take shots when you're heading out the door, right,

(01:01:37):
Are things going well in Dallas right now?

Speaker 18 (01:01:40):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
Are they?

Speaker 3 (01:01:41):
Is everyone going to do better places?

Speaker 2 (01:01:46):
I don't know. I don't think that. I don't think
Jordan's on his way to a better situation in Jacksonville, Okay,
But I mean I think DeMarcus Lawrence is going to
be a hit with the Saddles Seahawks, but I don't
I mean, Seattle in a better spot than Dallas's right now.

(01:02:06):
I don't necessarily know if that's the case. So it's
like DeMarcus Lawrence takes that shot when he's going out
the door. If you were going to Kansas City or Philadelphia,
or if you just signed a deal with maybe I mean,
I don't know the Buffalo Bills, then I understand that.
But you signed bro with the Seahawks, and it's not
like they've been knocking on the door of the Super

(01:02:26):
Bowl over the last few years.

Speaker 3 (01:02:28):
So I think it's funny. I think it fits.

Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
But I also think he's like, really, you're taking that
shot whenever you just signed with the Seahawks Andrea's in Massachusetts?

Speaker 3 (01:02:37):
What's going on? Andre? How are you, buddy?

Speaker 22 (01:02:39):
How you doing?

Speaker 17 (01:02:40):
Thanks for taking a call.

Speaker 12 (01:02:40):
It seems a little odd.

Speaker 17 (01:02:41):
You know, Lawren's a bit jilted there, you know, taking
these shots at the Cowboys, which I don't necessarily understand
based on the fact that you know, Jerry Jones, for whatever,
relaxed the general manager. You know, he's a pretty fun guy.

Speaker 2 (01:02:54):
Right, and he always takes care of the guys. He
doesn't low ball, and he doesn't he doesn't do that
kind of caruy. He pays them, He pays them mark value.
But if you're gonna take shots, okay, take it. When
you're going to the Eagles, you go to the freaking Seahawks, man,
you know, going.

Speaker 17 (01:03:07):
To Seahawks, you know, and it's gonna be some some cold, wet,
quiet night out there in the Pacific Northwest, whereas you know,
you went the Cowboys. Now, granted you're not gonna be
winning some games or any game depending on where they're at.
But you know, you're in doubt, you know, and you're
in You're a cowboy, you know, so there's all of
that pomp and circumstance that comes along with it. So
you pick, you know, you choose your battles, and that's

(01:03:30):
what you get when you go to the Cowboys. You
get all the stardom and you know, being a big
fish in a in a big pond, you know, because
everything's bigger in Texas. But you're not gonna win, you know.

Speaker 22 (01:03:39):
And that's understood. But I wanted to.

Speaker 23 (01:03:42):
I participated in the poll.

Speaker 17 (01:03:44):
I went with the Commanders. I feel, you know, going in,
that's the majority pick, so I can't really step out,
you know, and feel too bold or confident about it.

Speaker 12 (01:03:52):
But Jay Daniels, what we.

Speaker 17 (01:03:54):
Saw first year, dan Quinn tried, you know, dan Quinn
ready to take that leadership and just came in immediately
and got them moving in the right direction, and they
put pieces around him, made some moves to show that
they're willing to spend and try to compete. Now, they
did get molly walk by the Eagles in the championship game.

Speaker 7 (01:04:11):
That wasn't close.

Speaker 17 (01:04:12):
I'm not saying that these moves are going to show
put them on the same level as the Eagles, you know,
who are looking quite formidable. But that's what I picked
in the poll. And things are trending, and long story
not so long. I got to come out with two
concluding points. First of all, you know, they stole all
the Detroit Lions thunder, which is a little bit. You know,
I was Dan Campbell guy, but they just got embarrassed
and so their window might.

Speaker 7 (01:04:32):
Have been closed.

Speaker 17 (01:04:32):
Lastly, a little bit of a we need to give
Arch Manning a little patter the back. I'm a big
Arch guy.

Speaker 15 (01:04:38):
I'm a Arch for hiding guys.

Speaker 17 (01:04:40):
Okay, I'm a you know, he's a book of Manning player.

Speaker 12 (01:04:43):
Who they had it set up.

Speaker 17 (01:04:45):
He read shirts the first year, I E. Payton, That's
what he did. And then he showed the you know,
he could have played this year. But Quenny, you were
was fine Quinn at the time. I think Arch is
gonna come out guns blade and start the season. Heisan
trophy and I have him at the top of the
the next draft board. So I like how he's how
he's a developed and hasn't gone you know, all this
nil and me first. You know, he's taking a trust
the process approach, char respect, thanks, taking a call.

Speaker 3 (01:05:08):
You know, it's unique.

Speaker 2 (01:05:10):
It's unique in today's era of college sports. It really is.
If you're not a starter after a season and you
sit and you wait, you're gone, You're going somewhere else.
I there's a part of me that wants to see
it work for Arch Just because of that. I think
it's cool now there's arching On that's out there that

(01:05:33):
kind of thinks that really want that good to begin with.
But I think if that was the case, I think
that in some way, shape or form, he wouldn't be
at Texas right now. I think Steve Sarkejian would have
Steve's sarksistud all right. The job that he's done at
Texas deserves a hat tip. He's been incredible. That really

(01:05:55):
pains me coming out of an Oklahoma guy's mouth. But
there is this part of me that if you want
to believe that Arch stinks and he's not that good
and arching On, then I really don't think he would
still be a Texas I think that they would have
found a way to kind of because you're not just
gonna do something to make Peyton and Eli and Cooper
Manning happy and Archie Manning by keeping their what nephew

(01:06:19):
son grandson around. So yeah, I think he's gonna be
pretty good. Do I think he's gonna be the number
one pick in the draft now, But I think he's
gonna be a good college quarterback. And that's what's going
to be interesting, is like that balance between. There's a
lot of really good college quarterbacks. Jalen Milroll was a
good college quarterback. Still has to run the forty and
when he does, he's going to drop everyone's jaw. But

(01:06:40):
would he be a good NFL quarterback?

Speaker 3 (01:06:44):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:06:45):
Josh Allen wasn't all that great college football quarterback, but
was drafted as a project and look what he's become.

Speaker 3 (01:06:52):
Maybe that's gonna be arch a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
All right, back to the phones.

Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
Good call, good call, Andre, Gunny.

Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (01:07:01):
Man?

Speaker 3 (01:07:01):
How are you and Oklahoma?

Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
Uh? Oh? Do we lose Gunny? It's possible we could
have lost him our Gunner. Oh, Gunner, what's going on? Dude?

Speaker 18 (01:07:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:07:16):
Yeah, yeah, Sorry, good try man. I'll try next time. Gunner.

Speaker 2 (01:07:19):
That's just that, that's the worst phone in the history
of Fox Sports Radio. We have surpassed who was it.
A couple of weeks ago, they call and had the
bad phone. They said it was Gunner. It wasn't Gunny.
Oh yeah, to twenty twenty one.

Speaker 3 (01:07:36):
Whatever it takes, all right, Chad has been incredibly patient.

Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
I think Chad is frustrated tonight, and I understand why
you might be chat is in San Diego. What's up, Chad.

Speaker 9 (01:07:46):
I'm a little frustrated, but I'm dumbfounded by the fact
that the players, the media, you and your listen, Jersey
all and me too, all understand that the Cowboys will
never win a championship. How odd is that? You know
they've got all the resources in the world, and you
have to think it comes down to one thing, and

(01:08:06):
that's that owner.

Speaker 20 (01:08:08):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 9 (01:08:09):
And nobody knows that more than me and the Spanoses
and the Chargers will never win a championships. There's two teams.

Speaker 7 (01:08:17):
That you know will never win one.

Speaker 2 (01:08:23):
Well, I'll tell you what, no, Chad, real quick, I'm
not trying to I want you to have plenty of
time for your take. If I'm a Chargers fan, though
I'm feeling a lot better with Harball running. They're saying, now,
am I crazy?

Speaker 9 (01:08:36):
You'd have to talk to a Charger fan. Man, now
that Joey Botha has gone, I have no allegiance to
that team whatsoever. Fair enough, but no, I'm just saying
it was heartbreak every year, But it was it was
it was pleasureful heartbreak. It was your team. Now the
last one is gone. I can finally cut the cord
and say that team is no longer mine. It's actually relieving,

(01:08:59):
It is very relieving. But I wanted to talk a
little bit about where you were talking about the quarterbacks
Aaron Rodgers, and first of all, have an intervention with
you about talking about crappy quarterbacks tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:09:10):
I'm here, But.

Speaker 19 (01:09:13):
I think you can.

Speaker 9 (01:09:14):
Quarterbacks are kind of plug and play, man, if you're
in the league, if you're one of the sixty four
that either start or back up. I mean, I think
you could probably take a mac Jones and put him
on the Kansas City Chiefs and he'd probably have an
eleven and five season, twelve and four, twelve and five
now sorry, And even Aaron Rodgers. He might be a

(01:09:38):
little spence, but you put him on that behind center
at Philly, he'll do pretty well. I think it's more
about the team around you and the team that you've
created the bond. So in basketball it's more of the bond.
In football, it's more of those players.

Speaker 2 (01:09:55):
But I just want to.

Speaker 7 (01:09:57):
That's my take.

Speaker 9 (01:09:58):
I don't think these dark quarterbacks are as worth as
much money as they get, because even the backups are
getting ten million, twelve million.

Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
Dollars a year these days, well appreciate phone call man.
The theory from Chad in San Diego is that quarterbacks
are plug and play doesn't really matter now. I think
that we've seen instances of both being successful. I would, okay,
question hand is raised. Would you have considered Tom Brady

(01:10:29):
a plug and play at Tampa? It's still Tom Brady, right,
he was still elite maybe so I know that this
is not a popular I still I think you have
to be elit at quarterback. I think you have to
be elit at quarterback, and you can look at teams
that have made runs. Is brock Purty elite? But what
kind of helped PFT commoner blow up? Is Joe Flack

(01:10:52):
of elite? I'm sorry I'm falling into that category now.
But Bria, I mean, do you feel like you can
get away with just having like two or three years
of a guy and moving on. I feel like you've
got to have a dude if you want to consistently
be good at your quarterback.

Speaker 5 (01:11:06):
Well, why have I been throwing a tantrum for the
past like four or five months because I have Derek Carr.
He's not elite? You know, plug and play Yeah, he's
plug and play, and I don't want him. I would
rather have I mean, it's you know, it's so entitled,
but yeah, i'd rather have an elite quarterback.

Speaker 4 (01:11:19):
I don't. You can't win with just a plug and play.

Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
Now, the fair point that needs to be made, like
the whole fight over, is quarterback wins a stat and
things of that nature.

Speaker 3 (01:11:31):
You do have to have a solid team around him.

Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
But I mean, the price of winning was I was
going I put together a list for the start of
next hour to help. Well, actually it was for the
start of this hour. But the call's been so good
and it's all the like notes from free agency. I
got to handwrite things because I am an old man, Okay.
And as I'm going through this, I realize Philly.

Speaker 3 (01:11:56):
Lost a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:11:57):
They lost a lot, and yet here are like the
Sporting News, it's like winners of free agency, Howie Roseman,
Like how they lost everybody. They re signed one linebacker
and they weren't able to keep just about every guy
that was a contributor on defense that was up for

(01:12:18):
free agency. You know, I mean the linebacker they kept,
that's great, But Philly's not a winner of free agency, right, now,
because it's the cost of winning.

Speaker 3 (01:12:28):
Look at the Chiefs. Look at the Chiefs right now.

Speaker 2 (01:12:31):
Now, the Chiefs did this after they lost to the Buccaneers,
where they just kind of started over. It's like, okay,
but they were able to do it with Patrick Mahomes,
so they were packing the Super Bowl the next year,
or at least in the AFC Championship game. So I
the cost of winning means your players are valued and
wanted by other teams. But if you haven't figured out

(01:12:53):
at quarterback right and you're able to get it on
a deal like Josh Allen's and not like what's our
new pronunciation, pre Scott.

Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
Pre Scott Scott?

Speaker 2 (01:13:04):
Yeah, then I think you're I think you're living right.
I mean, in all fairness, like, I kind of think
the Steelers might be my pick in the North if
they get Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 3 (01:13:15):
I'm really drunk on this right now. I don't know
how else to put it.

Speaker 2 (01:13:18):
All Right, we got a break, Mike and mikea the
Leprechaun and bosson listen, it's your week, So hanging there.

Speaker 3 (01:13:24):
I'll get to you coming up next.

Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
I got a couple of lines if you guys want
him at eighty seven, seven ninety nine On Fox eight
seven seven nine ninety six sixty three six nine, Miles
Garrett spoke this week too. Are you buying what he's selling?
That's next on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, during
the break, during the break, Brey Mark, I got confirmation
that was actually Gunner, not Gunny.

Speaker 3 (01:13:44):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:13:44):
We got to make sure we keep our Oklahoma's clear.
So Gunn he's at home with the peace pipe, getting
right with his mind. Gunner is. We got to make
sure we get a new phone for it in Oklahoma.
How's pat phone?

Speaker 18 (01:13:57):
Is?

Speaker 16 (01:13:57):
He?

Speaker 9 (01:13:57):
Er?

Speaker 18 (01:13:58):
Ar?

Speaker 4 (01:13:58):
Should I also that I know, I'll go the ar ar? Okay?
Good to know, Okay, But.

Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
And I'll tell you what is somebody somebody who has
a crappy phone. There is nothing worse whenever you're trying
to get a hold of somebody or you're waiting on hold,
Like I had a customer service issue this week, and
I was waiting on hold forever and ever, and the woman,
the lady answered from somewhere that was in America, and

(01:14:24):
whenever she asked me for like all the information they needed,
all of a sudden, here go hello, Hello, you're breaking up.
You're breaking up, and I'm.

Speaker 3 (01:14:31):
Like, hello, No, I'm here. I better not be yelling.

Speaker 2 (01:14:34):
It's the middle of the night here. But you get
my point. So I feel bad for you, Gunnar. Hopefully
you can get back in tonight at eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox. Before I get to Mike, is
Mike the leper con still hanging in there in Boston.
He is, Oh, okay, you know what, Let's get to him,
cause he's been patient, Mike the leper Kahn, Welcome to
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:14:54):
There's plenty of time for Miles Garrett tonight. What's going on, Mike?

Speaker 20 (01:14:58):
Do you remember me?

Speaker 2 (01:15:00):
Mike?

Speaker 3 (01:15:00):
I remember you?

Speaker 18 (01:15:01):
Okay, you missed your break the last time I was on,
Oh I did you? Did?

Speaker 23 (01:15:07):
You said you were high on marijuana or something. Do
you remember remember?

Speaker 2 (01:15:13):
I think I joke about being high a lot if
I was high on Maryland. I don't think right.

Speaker 23 (01:15:19):
I told them I did up a story about the
girl being maneuvered by a bus and the batman.

Speaker 12 (01:15:23):
The story.

Speaker 2 (01:15:24):
Yeah, yeah, it's ringing a bell. It's ringing about Mike.
It's ringing the bell. What's off line?

Speaker 12 (01:15:29):
Man?

Speaker 18 (01:15:30):
It's Connor g U n n E R. CONNERN Thomas
so you know, all right? And I hate I hate
those international calls.

Speaker 23 (01:15:40):
My voice is a little lasting, but it's okay. I
being on a loop with a company and they you
wait a half an hour and then they do not review.

Speaker 2 (01:15:51):
It's tough, man.

Speaker 18 (01:15:53):
Let me give you a few updates here. The Boston
sports scene is on fire. The Celtics are going to
repeat students.

Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
They had some trouble with the Thunder. If they can
get the Thunder out of there, and then maybe are
you not worried at all about the Calves? Don't get
me wrong. This is a great win last week over
the Lakers, and they've battled a couple of injuries. But
I like the way they're looking right now. I think
the Calves look great though.

Speaker 18 (01:16:16):
Maybe but not in seven games.

Speaker 3 (01:16:19):
Okay, I can't fight you about that yet.

Speaker 23 (01:16:21):
Our one game is only a regular season. And obviously
the Patriots are on their way up, and the Red
Sox are on the way up, and the Brillins reset.

Speaker 18 (01:16:33):
The boxing sports is good, all right?

Speaker 3 (01:16:37):
Sounds good to me?

Speaker 18 (01:16:38):
All right? So do you know your sports?

Speaker 15 (01:16:42):
So I like that we know your sports?

Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 18 (01:16:48):
The Raiders they didn't go.

Speaker 4 (01:16:55):
But she's our queen.

Speaker 2 (01:16:56):
We have to.

Speaker 4 (01:16:57):
You know, we love her.

Speaker 2 (01:16:58):
She's our queen.

Speaker 18 (01:17:00):
She called me the funky not for collar last night,
and she says I'm the only she's the only one
she hates or despite the sorry, so that's not fair.
In fact, on.

Speaker 23 (01:17:09):
Monday at five point thirty, she and I are doing
a face off on the are you smarter than the
Lorena thing?

Speaker 4 (01:17:15):
Are you smarter than an FSR tech queen?

Speaker 5 (01:17:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 18 (01:17:19):
Yeah, whatever, yeah, Chris in Chris, I'm a teacher, so
like she's I won't. I won't tell anymore about Lorenna,
but you do. You do know your sports, so good job.

Speaker 2 (01:17:36):
Thanks.

Speaker 18 (01:17:38):
In the meantime, since July, I won Rookie of the
Rookie Caller of the Year. Yeah right, I was almost.

Speaker 23 (01:17:48):
I was almost the worst collar of the year.

Speaker 3 (01:17:52):
So you almost won Rookie of the Year and worst caller.

Speaker 2 (01:17:55):
Of the year.

Speaker 18 (01:17:56):
I won Rookie by your lifelife, right, and I was
almost winner for the work car.

Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
What does that say about our crop of rookies? Saks
mikeel Leprekahn, I appreciate your phone call. What does that
say about our crop of new callers to the Ben
Malors Show?

Speaker 3 (01:18:14):
What does that say?

Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
Whenever Mike de Leprechaun in Boston wins the Rookie of
the Year by a landslide and then also almost wins
the Worst Caller of the Year, Brie. I definitely appreciate
whenever you're able to interpret a couple of things in
a phone call like that for me, like I had
no idea what he that he had beef with Lorena.

Speaker 5 (01:18:37):
I also had no idea about that is that is
news to me.

Speaker 2 (01:18:41):
Well, Mike the Leprecaun, I'm glad that we could help out.
Thanks for the phone call. Congratulations on Boston sports teams
doing well. I don't remember. Gosh, I guess I gotta
be careful. I always like to say, oh, yeah, I
must have missed that. I must be high or I'm drunk.
You know, it's just something I say. I didn't know
really anyone would be like Chris Plank is smoking MERYLA
and he's missing commercial break, Scott do something? All right, Well,

(01:19:05):
we got to take a break. When we come back,
we'll hit more of your calls at eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox. But I have my list of
moves and what you need to know and don't forget
the podcast We'll be going up as soon as we're done.

(01:19:28):
get your podcast. After the show tonight, you're.

Speaker 1 (01:19:32):
Listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:19:35):
All right, final hour for us Breeze three coming up
here in a bit eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six six three sixty nine.
You can find us on Twitter. I'm at Plank Show.
We got a little Twitter poll. Oh, let's let's update
the Twitter poll. Very excited about this. Of course, Brie

(01:19:55):
is well worth a follow at Breeze. I'm sorry Breed
Denise twenty six and everybody go follow us at Fox
Sports Radio. Okay, I'm so excited about this. The latest update. Ooh,
the Commander is still in the lead. We asked a
very important question tonight, because it's sports.

Speaker 3 (01:20:19):
We've got to make.

Speaker 2 (01:20:19):
This decision now, people now tonight, who has won the
off season so far in the NFL? I put four options,
the Bears, the Patriots, the Commanders, and the Seahawks. As
it stands right now. The Commanders are leading it with
thirty six percent of the votes, make it.

Speaker 3 (01:20:40):
Thirty five point four.

Speaker 2 (01:20:42):
The Seahawks are the second choice of twenty eight percent,
while the Bears are the third, and the Patriots, I.

Speaker 3 (01:20:49):
Mean, listen, let's just let's call it like it is.

Speaker 2 (01:20:53):
The Patriots have a lot of cap space, so they
went out and spent a lot of money. The Patriots
have added in addition to Milton Williams, who they gave
a crazy twenty six million dollar per year deal. Now,
I will say the history of interior defensive linemen getting

(01:21:15):
paid to go to a new team hasn't always hasn't
always been like Reggie White when he went to the Packers. Okay,
that's just you haven't seen these deals flourish in the
way that maybe you would want them to.

Speaker 3 (01:21:32):
So that'll be one worth keeping an eye on.

Speaker 2 (01:21:34):
Twenty six mil. They also signed Carlton Davis, Harold Landry,
Robert Splane, They brought Oregon Moses and Mac Collins. I mean,
they've been, without a doubt, if you were to say
who's been the busiest team, They've been the busiest team.
But you guys had takes you guys had some takes.

(01:21:56):
Here's what and by the way, I'm there, I don't
think a right or wrong answer, right, I don't think
there is. I think that we're still we're still kind
of trying to get to the point where we're figuring
out what's next for these teams in the draft, and
we're forty thirty nine days away from the draft.

Speaker 3 (01:22:16):
But here's a few.

Speaker 2 (01:22:19):
Here's a few of not just the teams that we
have on the list, but maybe some of the other
teams that maybe caught people's eyes over the four that
I gave my man Shady Sean is all about the
Titan so far. Now, the question I would have Sean is,
in reality, is this just more about getting a new
GM knowing you have the number one pick? Because I mean,

(01:22:44):
I'm I'm not gonna lie. I think it's been pretty
quiet on the Tennessee Titans front. Right. Let me see,
I was pulling up to see the additions that they've
made so far. They brought in Okay, they brought in
Xavier Woods. That's a good get a safety. Vin Zeitler
is a good offensive lineman. You help out with Demut
Jones at offensive end. Van Jefferson on an old school deal,

(01:23:08):
spend a lot of money on Dan Moore at a
left tackle. Okay, all right, I can.

Speaker 3 (01:23:12):
Get behind this. I get behind this.

Speaker 2 (01:23:14):
It's not as bad as I thought. But I don't
think that would put you in the category where you're
in that mix for one of the top.

Speaker 3 (01:23:22):
Four teams in free agency right now.

Speaker 2 (01:23:24):
But wait till after the draft, and then we'll have
a whole new conversation.

Speaker 3 (01:23:29):
Craig Keller.

Speaker 2 (01:23:30):
The Bears basically rebuilt both their lines and their second
in this poll here, WTF. Also, if Rogers wants to
go to the Giants, okay, if he wants the drama track,
farv took the Vikings, Okay, trade JJ to the Steelers.
Tomblin will take himation about that real quick. The Minnesota

(01:23:53):
Vikings are not trading JJ McCarthy. End of conversation. I
like this id that you know they either aren't sold
on him or something of that nature. I don't know
where this came from. There's a guy that covers the Raiders,
and I don't know if he knows what he's talking
about or not, but he the whole offseason he kept saying, well,

(01:24:16):
we're still in the middle of the off season, the whole.

Speaker 3 (01:24:18):
Start a free agency.

Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
The Vikings are moving on from JJ McCarthy because of
this that, and you're like, no, they're not. He got hurt.
That's that's Kevin O'Connell's handpick. Dude, man, you know, not
gonna move on from him. They love them, They're trying
to find some help just in case he's not ready. Now,
if they go get Aaron Rodgers, then that would not

(01:24:41):
lead me to believe that they're out on JJ McCarthy.
It would lead me to believe that he's maybe a
little bit more injured than we assumed. And guys have
setbacks all the time, so you never know if there
might have been a setback somewhere. But yeah, no, I mean,
bri Am I crazy here. That's their guy in Minnesota.
JJ McCarthy's their guy. I don't think he's going anywhere ever.

(01:25:07):
Greg Greg writes, you gotta have the Broncos on this list.
But out of this options, I'll go with the Bears.
They have a young offensive Phenomas coach and beefed up
that line. Caleb Williams is set up for success. Here's
another one, Anna, I'm going with the Denver Broncos. They
solidified their secondary with the safety Hufanga, inside backer with

(01:25:31):
Drake Greenlaw, and added a reliable tight end with Evan Ingram.
Now they just need a running back and a wide
receiver two in the draft, which, by the way, Anna,
as a Raiders fan, if the Denver Broncos get a
Mecca Abuka, I'm going to lose my mind because I
think I know that that might be a little bit

(01:25:52):
high for a Mecha Abuka. In some people's eyes. He's
my favorite wide receiver in the draft, and I look
at him and I think.

Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
About a place like Denver or.

Speaker 2 (01:26:04):
I guess Chicago now too, with the offensive brilliance of
Ben Johnson and what we've seen in the past.

Speaker 3 (01:26:11):
And then you know, the Rams.

Speaker 2 (01:26:12):
I'm like, my gosh, that that guy goes there, He's
going to catch a lot of passes.

Speaker 3 (01:26:16):
Maybe the Raiders too. You know, we'll see what Chip
Kelly does.

Speaker 2 (01:26:19):
But yeah, the Broncos have and Dre Greenlaw might be
one of the most unheralded signings of this offseason. Now,
Niner fans, you got to help me out because I
don't know, coming off the injury, if he had as
tough of a time recovering as Navarro Bowman did, and
you know he was never the same player, but if

(01:26:40):
he was even like an a tenth of that, then
I think the Bronco's got a really good selection. Ryan Wright,
don't sleep on the Vikings, right, I don't disagree because
a lot of what Minnesota has done has been, you know,
making sure they keep their guys around. And then what

(01:27:05):
else they went and they upgraded their offensive line and
did so with two Indianapolis Colts guys, you know, and
Ryan Ryan Kelly the center, and then we'll freeze they
they really shored up that offensive line. And then I
I thought, I thought what they did at defensive tackle

(01:27:29):
in both Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave, that's good.

Speaker 3 (01:27:37):
So if I were.

Speaker 2 (01:27:39):
Doing this poll and I could have like six spots, right,
Twitter X whatever only let you have for I think
the Vikings would have been the fift team that I
put on there. Because we all get caught up in
the quarterback situation, right and we think about, oh, it's
going to be a quote unquote rookie and we'll see
if they're in on Aaron Rodgers. But to me, a
football the game that's one of the trenches. I think

(01:28:01):
they did an awesome job in the trenches. I really do.
And then one more, how about this from Corbel? He
writes Rogers should have pursued the forty nine ers for
his final season. Let by gones be bygones. Well, I
mean that would be a total, full, full circle moment

(01:28:21):
for Aaron Rodgers, right, And I know this is going
back a lot, We're going back a long way. I
mean you think about the two thousand and five draft.
I mean it was gonna be Alex Smith or Aaron
Rodgers at number one, and when Aaron Rodgers didn't get drafted,
the tumble all the way down to twenty four when

(01:28:42):
a very similar situation, how the Packers drafted Jordan Love
and Aaron Rodgers didn't know Packers drafted Aaron Rodgers. Brett
Favre didn't know. But we all know that story. But
San Francisco and Aaron Rodgers. You know, everyone had their
joke this week about the Niners getting Mac Jones. Hey,
Kyle Shanahan finally got got his guy. But before we

(01:29:05):
get to the phones here, Brie, what would you make
of the potential of Aaron Rodgers had he decided to
pursue the Niners.

Speaker 4 (01:29:15):
Oh, that would have been chaos.

Speaker 5 (01:29:16):
Though it's so fun now, that would have really got
my Like, I would have been really excited. I love
Kyle Shanahan, so I thought that would that I think
that would that would have been a blast.

Speaker 2 (01:29:26):
One of the notes. Since we're on this and since
you brought it up, not you, Bree, but the Texter Tweeter,
excuse me, here is what this This triggered me this week. Okay,
Doug Whaley, who I guess is making more of the
media rounds, had this to say about Aaron Rodgers. And
Doug Whaley might still have some people to talk to
him with the Steelers. He was there for a decade

(01:29:48):
former GM with the Buffalo Bills. But here's what he
said about Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 24 (01:29:52):
If I'm Omark Kahn and I'm the Pittsburgh Steelers, one
you shouldn't be surprised, and two you have to sit
down and.

Speaker 15 (01:30:00):
Really think about do we want to sign up for this?

Speaker 24 (01:30:03):
Because he's set on the table in the president early
it's all about Aaron Rodgers and it has nothing to
do with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He's gonna hold the whole
franchise hostage on waiting for him to make a decision.
But that's part for the course when you deal with
a guy like Aaron Rodgers. So you have to make
sure you really want this not only in your locker room,

(01:30:24):
but to be the face of your franchise. It's not
going to be the Pittsburgh Steelers anymore. It's gonna be
Aaron Rodgers Pittsburgh Steelers.

Speaker 3 (01:30:33):
Yeah, I am, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:30:37):
This was on ninety three to seven The Fan in
Pittsburgh on Wednesday, and I know there is there is
an interesting kind of angle from a guy like Aaron
Adam Schefter who he got all fired up on one
of those eight thousand shows that no one listens to

(01:30:58):
on ESPN Radio talking about Hey, it's it's ridiculous. Nobody
cares he's dragging this out. But okay, if you feel
like he's dragging it out, then move on. No one cares.
Let's go go get Russell Wilson, Go draft a guy
like I don't I think you could do a lot

(01:31:19):
worse than Aaron Rodgers, and I think you'd be a
hell of a fit in Pittsburgh. All right, Breeze three
is coming up. It's the Plank Show, coming toy Line
from the tire rack dot Com studios. Let's get to
your calls. Before we do, I ought to remind you
that the best pregame show every weekend is right here

Bett and GM every Saturday and Sunday morning from nine

how to complete your upcoming bracket than Countdown. Tune in

All right, Mike is in Illinois. Good morning, Mike, Welcome

(01:32:04):
to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 22 (01:32:06):
Hey, good morning, christ Great to be on with you, Mike.
I Uh, at first, I want to start out by
saying that you know, in the military, if you get
deployed to active combat uh situation, you get a higher pay,
a combat payer of whatever they call it. I'm not sure,
but I think when you do your show with Ernie,

(01:32:28):
you should get that pay.

Speaker 2 (01:32:31):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:32:32):
Yeah, there's a there's a lot of frustration in that show.

Speaker 2 (01:32:35):
That's let's be honest, Hey, I think the Bears are
almost done with what they want to do.

Speaker 22 (01:32:45):
But for me, firstly, as as a as a diehard
Bear Sam, I would I want them to draft either
Will Campbell, PLSU or Kelvin Banks. That would be my preference.
From Texas, I wanted to I want to left tackle.
Uh first, I don't care about no Noise State running back.
Just give me a left tackle then I'll be happy

(01:33:06):
with the Lion situation. And I don't even want to
go to too far into this other than to say
I think my Illinois fight and the Lion I arms
were sort of compatting themselves off in the back for
the last week of the regular season and their win
against Iowa. They got their lunchanted to them today.

Speaker 2 (01:33:28):
Oh smoked. Hey, realkick. Before you jump off, Mike, I
want to ask you some here make your final point,
but I want to ask you something about Illinois.

Speaker 22 (01:33:37):
Okay. I wanted to ask you are you familiar with
Are you old enough to remember the World Series between
the Angels and the Giants?

Speaker 18 (01:33:47):
Yes?

Speaker 12 (01:33:49):
Okay?

Speaker 22 (01:33:50):
So I called up Fox Sports after the first game
and got into a huge argument about that the Angels
shouldn't have put personal in because they were my hind
and anyway, long story short, I got so mad at
the guy I screamed at him, you're incorrect, but he
used the word to start w R that that laugh

(01:34:12):
word has been used as a drop on Ben Maler
Show for I don't know how look at you?

Speaker 2 (01:34:22):
I can't. The biggest screaming match I think I ever
had with anyone on the radio was over the tie
in the All Star Game?

Speaker 3 (01:34:29):
Can you believe that?

Speaker 9 (01:34:30):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (01:34:32):
That was crazy? Hey, okay, Mike, real quick before you
jump off. I'm still a sucker. I'm still a sucker.
I'm still a sucker. Things we called Mike. I don't
know what happened.

Speaker 3 (01:34:44):
There was there some sort of like echo or was
he still talking.

Speaker 4 (01:34:47):
Or I think a little bit of both. I think
he was on. He was rambling.

Speaker 2 (01:34:51):
Yeah, he was going. I was trying to get to
a question and they're like, I'm here and thinks there
was the Howard CERTs. Make it. She's making me feel
very uncomfortable right now. But my congratulations on a drop.
And here's my point I was going to make before
Manuel shuts it down on the phones for us tonight.
I'm still a sucker for Illinois. I'm still a sucker
for the fight and a light and I think if

(01:35:12):
they get the right matchup, I think that they could
they can make a run. It's a good team now.
I would also say, as an iHeart Oklahoma fan, I
would really like to see Oklahoma and Illinois in a
similar bracket because Illinois lives in dice by the three.

Speaker 3 (01:35:30):
Oklahoma's got really.

Speaker 2 (01:35:31):
Good three point defense, So I I plan on moving
Illinois on in my bracket. I'm just preparing myself now
to be hurt.

Speaker 3 (01:35:40):
All right, man, well and guard DNA.

Speaker 2 (01:35:43):
What's going on? Buddy? How are you well?

Speaker 20 (01:35:45):
Lizzie be a pirate and let him walk the plane,
mister playing Chris har.

Speaker 3 (01:35:51):
Good to hear you, buddy. How you being? Man?

Speaker 20 (01:35:54):
Oh man, I'm kind of like in the Old South,
hanging in there. But you know I would be remiss
fighting to say something about your list. Our team should
be on there ahead. The Raiders have had one hell
of an offseason, starting with bringing back Max Crosby, bringing

(01:36:18):
in that iron jaw, gum chewing Pete Carroll and Chip Kelly.
You know he also taking a pass on the biggest
fraud in the NFL, Sam Darnold, while bringing it a
grown up in the room.

Speaker 13 (01:36:36):
The guy who didn't right back Gino Smith.

Speaker 20 (01:36:40):
You know, I mean, I know a lot of people
get on Geno, but get some right parts around him,
and he's shown that he could win you ten to
twelve games. And for us as Raider fans, man, that's
a start, you know what I mean.

Speaker 13 (01:36:55):
Definitely, we got to get our quarterback of the future.

Speaker 20 (01:36:58):
It would be nice to get it's some offensive line help.
But oh one more guy, Alex Kappa.

Speaker 13 (01:37:04):
That guy is gonna be big man.

Speaker 20 (01:37:06):
He's he's unsung when he comes to offensive linemen, you know,
coming from Cincinnati, and I like the moves that we've made. Man.
Like I said, I mean, we do definitely have to get.

Speaker 13 (01:37:20):
A good draft in.

Speaker 20 (01:37:21):
But I think the Raiders have done very well this offseason.

Speaker 18 (01:37:26):
At the end of the day, my.

Speaker 7 (01:37:27):
Dad is one of.

Speaker 13 (01:37:28):
The biggest Bears fans in the world. And even he'll
tell you still the Bears, Mike Duka and Jim mcmahony
walking through that door, because ever since they have the
Bears have beared. They have found a way other than
with gross rex Men and Brian or Lacker that year
that they made that run. You know, a couple of

(01:37:50):
lovely Smith teams. The Bears have been a debacle and
until I see different. Just like Charger fan called talking
about Chargering and the Cowboys, I don't see the Bears
doing nothing, man, Ben Johnson or not. And Ben Johnson
he can kiss my ass because he didn't want to
come to the Raiders.

Speaker 20 (01:38:10):
So it's all good.

Speaker 13 (01:38:11):
And that's all I got for you.

Speaker 20 (01:38:12):
Plank nothing, belove Hey, give Breezy the ultimate respect Callers
because she's awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:38:19):
She's best, all right, see you, buddy, Love you dude.
It's my guy, Manuel and Guardina the Raiders. I think
part of the problem with why the Raiders aren't on
this list is because you're really only looking at five
guys that they brought in. Right on the free agent
side of things. Alex Kappa, who the Bengals punted on
but also had had terrible numbers last year. He immediately

(01:38:42):
upgrades the guard position for the Raiders. Right. Jeremy Chin
is not as good I think of a safety as
Trayvon Merrick, but he's a little bit more experienced. To me,
It's what the Raiders did in re signing Max Crosby
bringing back Malcolm Koons, which is a name you're not
gonna hear unless you're talking to Manuel myself or Jason Fitz.

Speaker 3 (01:39:03):
I guess k FIG's in this morning, right, is that right?

Speaker 4 (01:39:05):
Breek k Fig, he'll know, he'll know.

Speaker 2 (01:39:11):
So, and in Adam Butler too. It's like these are
people that nobody really knows, but yet they've they've they
were big time difference makers for the Raiders at one point,
so they bring them back. I I really, I'm allowing
something to happen, and I know we're up against it
and it doesn't usually happen this time of year. It's
usually a little bit like like later. But I'm really

(01:39:32):
filled with hope right now. It's a dangerous drug. You know,
what's uh, what's the great Rick James line from Lucia
Pelle show.

Speaker 3 (01:39:41):
Cocaine's a hell of a drug.

Speaker 2 (01:39:42):
Hope is a hell of a drug, man, and I've
got plenty of it right now as it involves the
Las Vegas Raiders. Okay, great stuff on the phone tonight, guys.

(01:42:11):
Breeze three.

Speaker 1 (01:42:13):
Not one, not two, but three. It's entertainment. It's good.
It's Breeze three.

Speaker 18 (01:42:25):
Now.

Speaker 4 (01:42:27):
I'm alrighty.

Speaker 5 (01:42:28):
So we know that Joey Bosas signed with the Buffalo Bills, right,
That's right, And he actually kind of gave a lot
of credit to like Bill's Mafia, like coming back to
a town that's like a Buffalo town or a football town,
and like, you know, La was really great, but I
really wanted to come back to like a football town,
and so I just it kind of got me thinking,

(01:42:49):
like what are like some fan bases that are a
little out there, a little loyal and just like a
little like a lot, like a lot, you know, a
lot like a lot. So I I'm gonna start number one.
I'm gonna have to go with like my female.

Speaker 4 (01:43:03):
Side, Swifties. Swifties are a lot the fan that.

Speaker 2 (01:43:08):
Kind of is.

Speaker 3 (01:43:08):
It's just sport no, I'm going I'm.

Speaker 4 (01:43:11):
Going entertainment and sports. I'm going both.

Speaker 5 (01:43:14):
So yeah, so just like you know, just give a
lot of options, you know, So I'm I went number
one there.

Speaker 4 (01:43:21):
So swifties, I feel like, are a lot.

Speaker 5 (01:43:23):
They'll come at you if you say anything, just like
you know, oh my god, her bangs are a little
like wavy.

Speaker 4 (01:43:28):
Why didn't she why didn't she straighten them?

Speaker 17 (01:43:30):
You know?

Speaker 5 (01:43:30):
Can you imagine like you get canceled? You know, so
that that was my number one number two. I'm sorry,
and it's not personal, Chris, Okay, I just.

Speaker 2 (01:43:39):
Know where you're going.

Speaker 5 (01:43:41):
Well, I don't know, you might not maybe Lakers fans
Lakers No, No, I respect the Raiders like my whole
heart love Manuel, love you, love k Fig.

Speaker 4 (01:43:53):
But Lakers fans, I can't like you guys.

Speaker 5 (01:43:56):
Like they're so delusional, they're they're crazy, they're just drunk
on all their championships. And you know, Luca's going to
resign here and retire a Laker and all these things,
and like you know, of course he'd want to stay
and d da da da, you know all about the brand,
right r Little de Lulu, Little de Lulu.

Speaker 4 (01:44:13):
Okay, Okay, so that was.

Speaker 5 (01:44:15):
My number two, and then number three, I went Cowboys fans,
just kind of with where we were tonight. I just
feel like Cowboys fans, like some of them are still
a little like, well, we're the Cowboys, Like hello, you know,
we have kind of like this little like snob kind
of vibe. Okay, our owner will do anything and da
da da da. But then some of them like, well,

(01:44:35):
our owner's crazy, but at least you know. So those
were my three. I went Swifties, Lakers fans, and Cowboys fans.

Speaker 2 (01:44:43):
Okay, all right, And by the way, just for the
rules of Breeze three, we are allowed to have one
that is the same, right of course, okay, very of course, all.

Speaker 3 (01:44:54):
Right, Mark Breeze three. What do you have tonight?

Speaker 2 (01:44:56):
Three? Crazy out of touch, delusional fan. The basis does
not have to necessarily be sports related.

Speaker 6 (01:45:03):
I was gonna start with Star Wars fans because if
it's beyond the first six or the original three and
then the three after that, the sort of sort of
origin stories that he had to make to make people
happy and to make more money, Star Wars fans are
pretty strange from what I understand. The next Spider Man,

(01:45:29):
because you got your Toby McGuire people. You have your
Andrew Garfield people. Then you have your Tom Holland people. Okay,
I'm Tom Toby McGuire, that's my spider Man. These other
two guys whatever. I watched the first Andrew Garfield one.
It was okay, it was like whatever, I'm a Toby guy.
So that's that. And then my next group of people,

(01:45:52):
I'm gonna go with James Bond friends because they loved
either you love Lesbanbie, or you love Connery, or you
love more or you put up with Dalton Brozen and
Craig so double O seven fans. So those are my
three Star Wars fans, Spider Man and then James Bond fans.

Speaker 2 (01:46:11):
Okay, all right, I'll just I'm gonna tell you right now, Bri,
I have one that is just exactly like yours. I
have the Cowboys on here. Yes, And by the way,
I want to make this very clear, our affiliate in
Dallas might be the greatest radio station in the world.
The ticket is incredible, and I think Bob Stern has

(01:46:35):
already cornered the market in wanting to have the T
shirt made. J T G. S F Jay Oh no, no, Jerry,
the ownership, fire Jerry the general manager. Right, just put
that as the letters and you make millions because everyone
would wear it. J T O S F j T

(01:46:57):
GM Right. I think I finally got it figured out
there that Jerry the owner should fire Jerry the general manager.
But they didn't act like that's going to fix everything.
Every year, man, every year though, they're going to tell
you how.

Speaker 3 (01:47:10):
Great they are, that albatar Jerry.

Speaker 2 (01:47:14):
But I think I think it's a very.

Speaker 3 (01:47:18):
It's a lot.

Speaker 4 (01:47:19):
It's a lot. They're a lot.

Speaker 5 (01:47:21):
I mean, you know, we have a few here with
Lorena Ricky, like, we have some Cowboys fans and they're
just they're they're loyal, but they're miserable, but they're loyal
and they're delusional.

Speaker 3 (01:47:31):
By the way, do you say Richie's a cowboy fan?

Speaker 4 (01:47:35):
Ricky is a cowboy? Yeah, Ricky is a Cowboys fan.

Speaker 2 (01:47:38):
Okay. I did not expect that. Okay, uh number two.
And I don't even know if I should admit how
I found out about this. But the whole Kardashian.

Speaker 3 (01:47:50):
Fan base, that's funny. It's it's a different world, man.

Speaker 2 (01:47:55):
So my grandma rest in Peace loved watching the Kardashians
and I'm going to give you an idea of how
long ago this was, because this was when Chris Humphries
was dating one of the Kardashians you guys even read.

Speaker 4 (01:48:10):
And they were actually married, Kim Kardashian.

Speaker 2 (01:48:12):
They were married.

Speaker 5 (01:48:13):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, maybe like two and a half minutes.
She actually bought the engagement ring.

Speaker 2 (01:48:18):
Are you are you a Kardashian fan? Am I getting?
Am I in a Am I in dicey waters?

Speaker 3 (01:48:24):
Not at all?

Speaker 5 (01:48:25):
I just I just remember that time period and if
it's like Hulu, sometimes I'll watch like one or two
episodes and but.

Speaker 4 (01:48:31):
No, I'm I don't care. It's just it's just good
trashy TV.

Speaker 2 (01:48:35):
I I made a comment about because my grandma would
call every every other day and ask me how Chris
Humphries was, and I never really put it together. I
was like, well, I mean I think he had two
points last night. She goes, I just think he's good.
I like him a lot. And then I came to

(01:48:55):
realize that, oh, she loved the Kardashians and she would
watch the show.

Speaker 1 (01:49:02):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (01:49:03):
By the way, On a side note, my my wife
was making fun of me because I tell this story
all the time.

Speaker 3 (01:49:09):
My grandparents loved watching TV.

Speaker 2 (01:49:11):
My grandpa would call me and we would have a
conversation about uh, I would have I assumed what was
one of his buddy named Raymond, and he's like Raymond
the other day. It was kind of crazy, and then
I came to realize he was he was talking about everybody. Yeah,
exactly watch They're like, wait a minute, Grandpa, did you
talk about the TV show?

Speaker 3 (01:49:30):
So I made the joke on Twitter.

Speaker 2 (01:49:32):
This was very much I still think in the infancy
of ex Twitter and as I lie, only only.

Speaker 3 (01:49:38):
The Kardashians could be so.

Speaker 2 (01:49:42):
Overbearing that it makes me not want to watch Chris
Humphries or something like that. I got destroyed. I mean,
I got buried. I think it was I think it
even led me deleting the tweet. It was terrible. It
was not a good time to be me because I
just thought I was being funny. Apparently not so. Oh
the Kardashian fans, you all are crazy. And the fact

(01:50:02):
that you still watch that show is a little bit concerning. No,
not like all the.

Speaker 5 (01:50:05):
Time, but the Hulu I mean, like, you know, sometimes
you just want to watch something and not think like
that's a show that I don't even know what season
is on it. It's like on like thirty season thirty five.
As far as I'm concerned, I have no idea.

Speaker 2 (01:50:17):
So I felt like for number three, I had to
come with a college, right, I had to come with
a university where they're fan base. It's just it's a lot,
And you know, I think maybe sometimes Mike Sooners our
group could follow that mix and understood you're a blue
blood in football, right, You've won seven national championships, but

(01:50:41):
you haven't had one since two thousand. No team has
been to the Final four more in college basketball without
a national championship than Oklahoma. It can be a lot,
But I thought about it. I thought about Auburn for
a little bit, because you know, I'm new to the SEC.
But I don't want to make anyone mad in the SEC. Right,
I'm still I'm a new kid, Right, I want to

(01:51:04):
make anyone Matt, Auburn's pretty bad. They're a lot. They're
a lot. Tennessee is a lot because they just don't
They're just a lot. I think that's what this list
is about, where you start wanting to name off all
the things that bother you about a fan base, and
in the end, it comes back to they're just a lot.

Speaker 8 (01:51:23):
They're just a lot, a lot, a lot, And so
I Tennessee was going to be my pick, but I figured,
you know what, I can't, I can't, So I just
decided to pick Notre Dame.

Speaker 3 (01:51:37):
And even though.

Speaker 2 (01:51:38):
It's specific to football, and even though it's you know,
no one has a problem with Notre Dame baseball fans
or Notre Dame basketball fans, it's just they always feel
like they're owed something, they feel like they belong because they're.

Speaker 4 (01:51:54):
Notre Dame entitledment alone.

Speaker 2 (01:51:59):
You know, they put up this fake movie Rudy where
half of it's a lie and they all want to
act like it's the greatest thing ever. And then you
got add Brian No to the mix. I mean it's
just kidding, No, but no, I mean Notre Dame fans
they're a lot. They're a lot because there is just
this whole mine. I mean, we even have find another

(01:52:19):
team in any sport where the playoffs are set up
where you got to make special concessions. It's like, well,
you know, got to make sure we take care of
Notre Dame. They're just a lot. So I would throw
Notre Dame in my mix with the Cowboys and the Kardashians, Swifties,
Lakers and Cowboys fans for Bree and then Mark went

(01:52:43):
with Star Wars fans, Spider Man fans and what was
the third one, James James Bond.

Speaker 6 (01:52:50):
I have a few honorable mentions because they got my out.
So my other ones would be Harry Potter fans, Lord
of the Ring fans and Jason Bourne fans because they
had three of those.

Speaker 2 (01:53:04):
Yeah, my son who apparently is in the Philippines, my
kids at West Point, Okay, and I so I hear
from him about I don't know once once a month,
and I got a text from him tonight during the show.
Just landed in Tokyo. Getting my connection to the Philippines.

(01:53:27):
I bring that up because all those things you mentioned,
he's a fan of and Man and Mark. Whenever I
try to like throw a curve balls like well you
know that's just crazy about that Henry Potter guy. Oh, now,
he'll he'll correct me and he'll make sure I'm right
on everything. He'll want to fight about the Star Wars
and is like how could Darth Maul be the dude there?
Whenever doesn't fit in the timeframe. So yeah, oh, I've

(01:53:50):
lived that. I live that.

Speaker 6 (01:53:52):
See it's true.

Speaker 2 (01:53:54):
Another award winning edition a Breeze three right here on
Fox Sports Radio stick Around I.

Speaker 3 (01:53:59):
Had fun showed in.

Speaker 2 (01:54:00):
I just get a poll update and then I'm gonna
debut a new segment here. We'll call it Planks Parlay.
I'll try to get you some winners before we go
home every night. We'll see how it goes. I feel
like I've had a good I've had a good feel.
I feel like I've had a good feel. I've had
a good handle on college basketball this year. So the

(01:54:20):
way the parlay works, I can't I can't really get
two into player props, but I'll get you three teams
and I'll say something like guaranteed winner and then I'll
get two of three.

Speaker 3 (01:54:31):
Right, So just letting you know that's how it goes.

Speaker 2 (01:54:35):
But before we do any of that, a reminder that
you can stream this show and all of our Fox
Sports Radio shows live twenty four to seven in the
new improved iHeartRadio app. Just search Fox Sports Radio on
the app to stream us live. And one of the
cool new features I like this because I'm an old
school radio guy, is that you can select Fox Sports
Radio is one of your presets, and there's little boxes

(01:54:56):
at the top of the app, just like on your
radio dial, so check it out. Be sure to preset
Fox Sports Radio on the iHeartRadio app and it will
always pop up on the top of your screen. If
I don't say it enough, Brie, thank you, Mark, thank you.
It's always great to hang And if I'm not mistaken,
the Fellows are next, and it's it's like the Raiders hour, right,

(01:55:18):
it's k Fig and Jason.

Speaker 4 (01:55:21):
It's actually k and An.

Speaker 7 (01:55:23):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:55:23):
Oh, I'm sorry. So Anthony Gargano the Legend and k
Fig coming up next, So that'll be fun. So keep
it locked in or I don't know, go to bed.
What's ever gonna work better for you? I had a
breed how you're feeling about story that I wanted to
get to here and it kind of got imploded because
of the Derek Carr rumors and we didn't get to it.

(01:55:44):
But what have you made of the report about the
future of one Devin Booker McMahon. Tim McMahon wrote that
it is an absolute certainty that Booker will not be
traded by the Suns this summer, and he has a
vision of spinning his entire career with the Phoenix Suns,

(01:56:08):
so I as a Phoenix fan, to make it feel
a little bit better about the future. Are we still
on team Devin Booker here?

Speaker 4 (01:56:18):
Yeah, I am. I know, I wish I was.

Speaker 3 (01:56:21):
I sounded that was a soft cell. I will say that.

Speaker 1 (01:56:23):
I know.

Speaker 4 (01:56:24):
I wish I wasn't. I wish I could be like, no,
let's rebuild.

Speaker 5 (01:56:27):
Yeah no, no, I'm in. I'm all in. I love that.
I love that. That makes me feel like we have
like a team. You know, he's not just a player
on a team, like he's part of the team. Like
that just doesn't happen anymore, but.

Speaker 2 (01:56:40):
It doesn't exist. So that's really cool. That's really cool.
And then the other story that I wanted to get
to tonight, Man, I was, I'm not somebody that needs
Miles Garrett to tell me that he took money over winning.
I mean, let him say what he wants to say.

(01:57:03):
But he took the bag and I don't blame him.
But this sudden's this what this sudden smear campaign against
him I found fascinating. According to Pro Football Talk, and
I guess this would also kind of date back to
the Athletic Jason Lloyd the Athletic. It's well known within

(01:57:25):
the Browns that Garrett is frequently late to the facility.
He has skipped mandatory team meetings on multiple occasions. Like
what so what if that was a concern with the Browns,
they still gave him the biggest contract in all of
sports are in football for non quarterbacks? I mean, I

(01:57:49):
don't get it. Why would this information be leaking out now?
Is it something where a team wants everyone to feel
better about them not pursuing him, Because that coming out
now is just wild and it seems very intentional or fake.
But if it's widely known, then why are we just
now hearing about it. I've never heard that before. So

(01:58:12):
just an interesting angle that maybe we'll spend some more
time on next week. Okay, got a lot of great
college basketball games. Numbers just came out. So here is
the direction I would go if I were playing games today,
Plank Parlay, I give you three picks, you decide if
you want to buy or sell. Give me Maryland minus
four and a half. That number has already grown to

(01:58:34):
four and a half and they're big ten semi final
against Michigan. I really like this Maryland team a lot.
I'll take Memphis in the American Athletic Conference minus eight
and a half. So so far, I'm loving the favorites.
I think Memphis is going to roll a mediocre to
lane team, and I think we're gonna get a Donnybrook

(01:58:54):
tonight between Tennessee and Auburn. I'll take Tennessee plus the
four and a half in the SEC semi final. I
say tonight, it's coming up at one o'clock Eastern between
Tennessee and Auburn.

Speaker 3 (01:59:06):
So there's the plank parlay for the night.

Speaker 2 (01:59:08):
All college basketball Maryland minus four and a half, Memphis
minus eight and a half, and Tennessee plus four and
a half. Brie, have a great week, Mark, have a
great week. The Fellows are coming up next. Have a
great Saturday, everybody. This is Fox Sports Radio.
