Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. Here we go.
It's a big night.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
It's the final show before the NFL Draft, Episode ten
of the Plank Show. Welcome into the overnights, good, good evening,
good morning, good afternoon, wherever you may be listening across
the incredible, incredible, vast Fox Sports Radio network.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
It's a little it's got a little extra.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Juice to it tonight too, because I did something I
very rarely do. I had to request next weekend off. Now,
contrary to popular belief, I did not send that request
to the stinking genius Arni Spaniard. But it's it sucks
as we welcome you into the Tirack dot Com studios.
(00:51):
It sucks because Brianna Mark, good evening, good morning. Whichever
way you look at it, it sucks because Brie that's
the po Draft show, right, That's that's the show next
Friday after the first, second, and third rounds of the
NFL Draft. Oh, I mean for all the programs we're
(01:12):
gonna do this summer where we're gonna look at the
calendar and go, we really need the callers to come
through tonight or or try to generate some interest in
the middle of the season, baseball game or series. It's
a it's gonna be some slim pickings in the sports world.
But I'm having to miss next Friday show because my
(01:35):
wife is kind of kind of my wife is making me.
But it's my fiftieth birthday.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
That's something to celebrate and that only happens once once.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Ever. Yeah, it interests me.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
I had a plan whenever I was in my early
twenties that I won't gonna make it to thirty. So
I've got a you know, I did a lot of living,
so now I'm paying for those decisions I made in
my twenties and then even into my thirties. So it's, uh,
it's really my birthday celebration where I'm excited because I'm
just gonna sleep. I mean, that's when you know you're
(02:05):
getting old. It's like, came, man, what are you doing
for your birthday next week?
Speaker 1 (02:08):
I'm gonna sleep. Really. Yeah, it's we're talking party animal here.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
But it frustrates me because I love chopping it up
with you guys, and I love the draft. I have
issues with the draft. Whenever I was a little kid.
The very first call I ever made to sports open
line Kmox and Saint Louis was to call in to
then NFL draft expert Joel bush Bomp and ask if
he thought Bill Musgrave was a quarterback that could be
(02:36):
taken high by the Raiders in the second round. That's
how much of a nerd I am when it comes
to the NFL Draft. I love this stuff and honestly
count me into the group that digs the new era
of draft coverage, where all you really need is a
Twitter feed to be considered an expert, maybe a YouTube
channel where you can throw on a couple of hot
(02:57):
sports opinions if you will shout out to the ticket.
And I consider myself hooked on everything that's out there.
I get sucked into every rumor. Now I do something
different than most people. I'm not trying to pat myself
on the back, but I never take one rumor at
its surface. Let me give you a good example, real
quick sidebar to another story. But this is how my
(03:19):
mind works, so we can all understand it together. Last week,
during the Nico Saga Nico Iamaliava, there was a huge
ground swell of buzz that Dan Lanning, the Oregon coach,
had personally called Josh Heipel to say, hey, man Nico's
(03:39):
crew is sniffing around for a deal, and everyone lost
their saying, oh, look at Dan Lanning, that's awesome. But
literally it was one place, and it was a Twitter
feed that covers Georgia recruiting, and nobody else, nobody else
was reporting it, but everybody lost their mind on them.
They didn't take the time to dig in a little
deeper and say that seems odd.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Why would Dan Lanning do that? Well, it's quite because
he didn't most.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Likely right, And if you just dig a little deeper,
you get the answers you want. So this this has
been a week shifting it now back to the draft,
where I found myself digging deeper in some of these rumors.
So tonight, I don't know, maybe depending on how the
phones go aight eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox,
depending on how your calls go, either at the start
(04:28):
of hour two or at some point later in that
second hour. I want to roll through my draft notebook,
and I've got some help. You guys know, I'm a
big Todd McShay guy. I love his pod. I appreciate
and respect his information.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Now, does my man or hurt himself?
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Does he injure his elbow every now and then, patting
himself on the back about the numbers and the downloads. Sure,
but I get it, and I'm here for you. I'm
supporting you tonight mcshae. I mean, in the middle of
giving me breaking news, he's like, let me tell you
something downloads on that last show, and so thank I'm
just we're doing bunkers.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
I'm like, okay, great, just what's the information? Dude? Get it?
Speaker 2 (05:05):
You're very popular, congratulations, But I am. I'm emptying out
the notepad as I guess the old school phrase that
we would use, and well, why don't I just sneak
one in here right off the top? Why don't we
just kind of start with a little bit of fire
when we're talking about the draft here tonight on the
Plank Show. Of course, you all know the crew. Brianna's
(05:27):
running it. She's the first voice you hear at eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Mark is making sure
that we catch all the dirty words as he runs
the show and writes this ship. And as always, we're
coming to you live from the tire rack dot Com
studios ti rack dot Com. We'll help you get there
an unmatched selection fast free shipping free road hazard protection
(05:49):
in over ten thousand recommended installers tire rack dot com.
The way tire buying should be. So on this night
where the NBA playoffs are finally set, where we had
a fun night of Major League Baseball, I find myself
just absolutely enamored with the latest round of draft buzz,
and here we go. I think Shoudhary Sanders is not
(06:11):
only in play, but I think it's the way that
the Giants are leaning at three. Here is what Todd mcshae,
the aforementioned Todd McShay, and you're gonna hear a lot
from him on the program tonight. Here's what he thinks
is going on right now as it pertains to landing
spots for should or Sanders, because I know that everybody
(06:36):
has thrown out their mocks that that's got should Or
drop in, maybe even past your Saints at nine, Brianna,
maybe even dropping all the way to like the twenties,
where someone tries to trade back into the first round
and get him.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
I just in a in a league.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Where we're all drug for quarterbacks, d r U n
K drunk for quarterbacks, I just cannot allow myself to
fact them that the New York Giants in a make
or break year for Joe Shane and Brian Dable that
their quarterback room is going to be Russell Wilson.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
And Jameis Winston.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Who Saints fans love Jameis Winston and Tilly steps on
the field, he's the most popular guy maybe in the
history of that franchise. And then he steps on the
field and you're like, oh, okay. But here's what Todd
McShay said about Sanders.
Speaker 4 (07:25):
Everyone agrees cam Mood's going number one to Tennessee Cleveland
staying at two, and they're picking Travis.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
Hunter apparently in the last several days.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
And it's not no one's saying it's going to happen,
but people are telling me, don't.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
Close the book on Shaudor to the Giants at three.
Speaker 4 (07:43):
It's either Shadoor or it's Abdul Carter, and most people
think it's going to be Abduall Carter. It's interesting though
that I think there's like a landscape.
Speaker 5 (07:52):
Thing going on here.
Speaker 6 (07:54):
M hmm.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
Shadoor, as we said, he's not going six to Vegas,
he's not going seven to the Jets, he's not going
nine to the Okay.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
So that's mcshay's theory, not in play for the Raiders,
which I kind of think he might be, Brie, you've
taught We talked about it last week, and I don't
know what your Saints insiders have been saying this week,
but I don't necessarily know that he's the target there
at nine No No.
Speaker 7 (08:18):
Now, I feel like all the Jackson Dart stuff that
we were talking about last week, I think that's looking
a little bit more likely.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
I wish I could be a soothsayer like our buddy
Jason Smith and Mike Carmen, like they see the future.
We just every so often get lucky and make a
few buckets, right. But we were talking about this last week,
the Jackson Dart might be the guy that is a
little bit of a better fit for what the Saints
want to do as opposed to should or Sanders. But
now all of a sudden, you've got a team and
(08:45):
the Giants it appeared to be doing their due diligence
on should or Sanders. And I don't know, so, Brie,
how do you look at this?
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Well?
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Well, I all go ahead, Yeah, I was.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Just gonna say, because I wonder if it's hey, let's
double check and make sure we're not missing anything here
with him and we're set on Abdul Carter or yeah,
we better make sure we get him because he can
be franchise altering.
Speaker 8 (09:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (09:06):
I think a lot of people were saying, like, Okay,
they're holding the private workout, but they kind of want
to just like throw everybody off, like off the set,
you know, and they were probably gonna go Abdul Carter
at three. I think it's a good idea. I think
that I think they should. I think they definitely should
draft him. I think it would be I don't know.
I think that's why I wanted him to go nine
(09:27):
at the Saints. I wanted some buzz. I wanted some excitement.
I wanted something, you know, interesting. I don't know, so
I could kind of see the giants going that way.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
I think.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
The mystery part of it. I hear you, and I
bet that's exactly what they're doing. But I don't get it.
It's like, who are you trying to fool?
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Right?
Speaker 2 (09:47):
I mean, we know cam Ward's going to go number one,
and if you listen to Andrew Berry this week, Travis
Hunter is going to go number two. So maybe the
intrigue starts at three, and I guess don't off the
scent would be if you're the let's just say, hypothetically,
the Raiders at six really want should or Sanders? Well,
all of a sudden you're like, well, they brought him
(10:08):
in for another workout. Maybe we should call New York,
Maybe we should call Cleveland and see if we can
get up there. If if you were the Saints at nine,
whatever it might be, suddenly it does generate a little
bit of talk that maybe, just maybe if you were
hoping that Sanders would slide to you that he's not
going to be there. But Giants fans, I got an
(10:29):
open line tonight. I'd love to hear from you at
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine ninety six six three sixty nine. Where do we
stand now in this buzz building that should door is
back and play at three? And for the true diehards,
I'm not someone that believes that they threw him off
their draft board and then all of a sudden they're like, eh,
you know was watching him day put them back in.
(10:51):
I think he's been there the whole time. And I
think one thing we've learned too. And Pete Schrager is
going to drop his final mock. I think he does
it on on Wednesday or Thursday. One of the more
accurate guys out there. I think we're in the second
year where as much as we think we know, there's
truly some unknown Like I and I my hardest battle
(11:11):
that I fight just from a you know, information perspective
is what's real and what isn't. Like For instance, today
Pete Carroll and John spy Tech, the head coach and
GM of the Raiders, they had a press conference and
there was a very direct question asked about Ashton Genty.
Hey we think it's gonna happened with Ashton gent or
(11:33):
I'm paraphrasing the question, And right as John spy Tech
started to talk, Pete Carroll kind of turned to him
and said, hey, be careful, be careful. Why why?
Speaker 5 (11:43):
Why?
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Why do you wanted to be careful? You know Gent?
Speaker 6 (11:46):
I mean?
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Jonathan Jones writes in cbssports dot Com that one AFC
exec tells him it's a foregone conclusion that Gent's going
to the Raiders.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
But is that real?
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Is that something that you would look at and say, oh, yeah,
that makes the Raiders better. I don't know, but I
find it odd that Pete Carroll, even if it was
some sort of pre planned bit where he would turn
to his GM be like came, he be careful loud
enough for where the microphones could pick him up.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
I know this is crazy.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Some people in radio still haven't figured this out, and
I know most of you podcaster are still haven't. This
is a microphone. It picks up everything that you say, eat, chew,
or drink. So I don't think Pete Carroll's a dummy.
Whenever he's with a microphone right in front of him
where he's like, hey, be careful, I think he knows
that it's there, and I'm sure there was some effect
(12:37):
to it as well. But I feel like it's as
unknown as it's it's as unknown in the top ten
outside of one as it's been in a minute. But
yet we're talking about it very confidently as if we
know what's gonna happen, and I don't think anyone has
a clue, or as my dad would say, an S clue.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
He except for he wouldn't use S.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
He'd use the four letter bomb, which mark I'm not
gonna get stars cussing early. Okay, we'll wait till later
in that safe Harbor area. But at eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox, I just love to talk some
NFL draft now, jumping away from the NFL, but with
this warning.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Do you see who spoke yesterday?
Speaker 6 (13:13):
Brie?
Speaker 1 (13:14):
Do you see who? Do you see? My man, Aaron Rodgers?
Speaker 2 (13:19):
I have every clip imaginable thanks to our editing crew
here at Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Oh, I'm so excited.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
And then I listened to it, like I say anything,
if anything, you probably triggered the Jets fans a little bit,
and if anything, you probably I don't know, Steelers fans.
Are you getting angry about this? Waiting it out? Let's
get your takes on that coming up here in a bit.
(13:46):
At eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, I'd be
remissed if we didn't mention the games tonight and the
fact that the NBA playoffs are finally set. Yes, I
know that in advance of the Lakers t Wolz series
which starts tomorrow, that Luka Doncic sat down with the
ESPN Great Interview. We're gonna share some of the highlights
of that coming up later on in the program time Permittee.
(14:07):
But we had a very good final game of the
play in tournament and a bit of a one sided affair.
First very good Miami and Atlanta was something else, and
if I'm an Atlanta fan, I'm a little bit disappointed
with the way things went, but I'm.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Also kind of excited about the future for the Hawks.
I don't really know.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
I don't really know where Miami's going, if anywhere in
these playoffs. I kind of think that, you know, a
likely first round exit, but I do think they might
get a couple of games from the caves. But tonight, boy,
they got some big time performances in overtime.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Who was at the Wiggans spouts.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Past to Mitchel for three don it Tyler's.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
Waving bye bye. Suppose calming everybody down, but the folks
are leaving heat up one twenty three.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
One fourteen, twenty three point seven remaining. He would go
on to win it one twenty three, one fourteen in overtime. Afterwards,
Tyler Hero.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
No competitive teams, you know, fighting for the last spot
in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
That was exactly what you saw. Both teams were deserving.
I loved how my team.
Speaker 5 (15:13):
Fought every single you know run that they made.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
We answered, and I feel like this entire season has
really built this up for this point.
Speaker 5 (15:20):
So I'm really happy for my guys.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
So Game one of that Cavs Heat series will start
on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Thunder know who they'll play in
the first round, and it is the Memphis Grizzlies.
Speaker 9 (15:32):
Little flutter with the right hand, no good. He elevated
and tapped in his own miss off the window. John Morant,
what twenty two? That will one hundred percent do it?
Two twenty four remaining Grizzlies are going to be on
their way to Oklahoma City.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
A one twenty one oh six was the final score.
I don't know. I put together a list tonight for
the playoffs. I called it my watchability index, ranking the
series from one to eight, most watchable the least watchable.
One being the most, eight being the least that I
was shocking, but it's hard to it's hard to imagine.
(16:10):
It's hard to imagine the Grizzlies being able to do
anything with Oklahoma City when John Morant isn't one hundred
percent or is he? Here's joy after the game talking
about the Thunder.
Speaker 8 (16:20):
You know, a big challenge obviously, you know we all
seen them, you know, over the season very well around
the team. I feel like, you know, they have potential
MVP and you know Shay over there, that's you know,
leading the charge. And it just got to be you know,
very sound, defensively, very disciplined, and just play out type
of basketball.
Speaker 10 (16:36):
Man.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
I'll tell you what.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
This was one of those first really really good rivalries
for the Thunder when when you had Tony Allen, Zach Randolph,
those in the Thunder with Katie and Russ Westbrook. I mean,
those were some great series. Obviously the Grindhouse, I mean
(17:00):
it was it was rocket. They played some incredible series.
I guess now gotta you look back on it. We're
going back like twelve thirteen years ago. Much different feel
here in Oklahoma City is dominated the last five meetings
between these two teams.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
So we'll see. I think it's gonna be a sweep.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
I don't think Memphis has anything for Oklahoma City, even
with a healthy Jah Morant, but we'll find out. Good
news though from Memphis, stay alive, good atmosphere, good vibes,
good buzz. They'll open up the playoffs with a Thunder.
On Sunday So eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven, seven nine, ninety six, six three six nine. Now,
as a fan of Ben mallor, Ben has taught me
(17:41):
that the stories that are the best are always in
the loser's locker room. And when we come back, we'll
hit that loser's locker room where the Mavericks might have
stumbled and bumbled through one of the most embarrassing seasons
in NBA history.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
We're just getting started.
Speaker 2 (17:57):

to the crewe. Uh Brianna, Brianna Mourou is running unfortunate
in for your sons. Merciful right, Derek, Derek Carrgate kind
(19:24):
of continues in New Orleans right now.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
I wish you would say something. I wish you would
come be like, guys, I'm really hurting.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
He's busy, Chris.
Speaker 7 (19:31):
Didn't you see that he was doing car reviews on Instagram?
Saw that saw that time to talk to anybody.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Not the best timing on that, Derek, But I mean,
you know who am I. You've made a lot of money.
But interesting week, A good week for you, though, I
know you were busy running shows here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 7 (19:49):
Yeah, Jason Smith and Monty Volanio's did Wednesday and Thursday
with Mike out and it was it was a blast.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
Is it true that Mike's off to WrestleMania.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
Yeah, he I'm actually kind of jealous.
Speaker 7 (20:02):
I don't really know a lot of the storylines, but
I love Seth Rollins and I love Roman Reigns, and
I feel like they're fighting. I think they're competing against
each other, and I think Sampunk's involved. Yeah, okay, so
I think something along those lines. So any kind of
Shields kind of like Reunion, I get a little like
hyped up over did you.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
By the way, if you ever wanted to know anything
about where we are in advance of WrestleMania forty one
tomorrow night, there is rumors that the president.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
Could be okay to take it all in. So, in
other words, you had a good week.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Good week, Yes, great week.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
Mark Ramsey, of course, make sure that you guys stay
on your ones and twos, mind your p's and q's.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Good week, Mark. Everything good in the Mark Ramsey world.
Speaker 11 (20:45):
Things they're good and the Mark Ramsey were a little
bit cloudy here in this area.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
But it's our right.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
I made it through.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
We had a massive storm that rolled through right before
the show, and shout out all the truckers. Man, you
guys be safe if you're rolling through northeastern Oklahoma or
into I guess that would be.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
Oh gosh, geography. Why did I open my mouth?
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Northwestern Arkansas, y'all be careful through the Bible Belt tonight. Okay,
we got storms blowing through. But yeah, we're we're preparing
for a very damp weekend here in God's Country. But
I'm glad everyone had a good week. Hope you guys
did too. Your week was definitely better than the last
couple of months in Nico. Harrison and the Dallas Mavericks
(21:29):
have had whose season I think came to a merciful wind.
Now I'm one of those weirdos that thinks, hey, if
Anthony Davis can stay healthy, there's a lot of ifs
that are going on here with the front court. Through
the Mavericks have and Kyrie Irving comes back, and Dallas
makes a play for someone like, I don't know, Kevin Durant.
It might be it might be a team that would
really have dominated in like twenty sixteen or seventeen. But
(21:52):
still I think that makes Dallas formidable. But it doesn't
matter for twenty twenty five because they're done. And Jason Kidd,
by the way, every time I say Jason, I want
to say Jason Smith, Jason Kidd does not want to
hear any of your negativity. No, no, no, because in
his mind, the Mavericks had an incredible season.
Speaker 12 (22:10):
Incredible season when you look at the injuries that we've had.
The change for us to even be here playing in
this game tonight misincredible, which just shows the character of
that group in that locker room, the fight, being prepared,
moving on, you know, learning from our losses and also
our wins. An incredible season with the change and injuries.
(22:32):
You know, someone say we shouldn't even be here. So
Toki of those guys in that locker room a lot
of credit.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
Did we watch the same Mavericks season. I mean, I
don't get me wrong. I know the injuries were there
for you, but this team went to the conference finals
in two of the last three years, in twenty twenty three,
twenty four. The twenty four season they went to the
NBA Finals. And you're gonna try to Pat yourself on
(23:03):
the back because you played in the playing tournament won
a game. I get it. Though you're the head coach.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
You've got to in some way, shape or form paining
a positive picture. And they've got it. They're gonna have
to build around Anthony Davis now going forward, who's played
really well. He just hasn't been able to stay healthy.
Speaker 12 (23:22):
You know, you look at our leader. You know, I
thought him and Clay played well. You know, I thought
Ad did everything he could to help us win. Unfortunately,
we didn't shoot the ball straight. You know, we had
some great opportunities that just didn't fall for us.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
I don't know, Brie, We'll have to do a lot
of work. I don't know if there's been a trade
that has been more universally destroyed like the Niko decision
to trade Luca has been. I don't know if there's
ever been the ultimate like backfire, because it's not just
(23:59):
in losing games. It's almost like they've lost their fan base,
right and Maverick fans. It's good fan base. That's a
good They've been through a lot. When Mark Cuban bought
the team, there was the history of suckiness before and
then Cuban invested in them, and I think about some
of the names that rolled through there, right, and then
(24:19):
Dirk taking them to a title. It's just it's a
it's a franchise that deserves better. And to see a
GM continue to double down on what was just not
enough in return. I mean, I think at some point
you gotta be honest with yourself and say, would we
have liked to get more for uh Luca?
Speaker 1 (24:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (24:39):
And it hurts even more right right when you look
and I mean Luca's playing his ass off right now
Los Angeles and they're going into a they're going into
a playoffs where a lot of people think that they
could be playing in the Western Conference finals ice. This
just could not have backfired more for the Mavericks this year.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Right.
Speaker 7 (24:57):
It's weird because it's like, yeah, he's doubling down, and
he's saying like the most randomest things like oh, defense
wins championships, like all the things to say, like what
are you what are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (25:09):
My my eighth grade basketball coach, mister motes, that was
the gym shore.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Actually I apologize that was high.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
School, my high school basketball coach, and I sucked at basketball,
but we had a shirt that said defense Wins Championships,
said a freshman year at east Aunton Woodrivet Community High School.
I mean, come on, Nico, what are we doing here?
I mean, don't look now, but the Lakers. I'm glad
that I was listening to Jason tonight. I'm glad that
(25:37):
Jason Smith. Lakers have been a good defensive basketball team
surprisingly enough since the trade. But I there is a
pit in my stomach for Averick fans over this.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
So Dallas, dude, where do you go from here?
Speaker 2 (25:52):
At eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine ninety six six three six nine. All Right,
anything else you guys want to add to the NBA
before we go to the phones. Bring anything else that
we miss from the playing tournament or anything from the
week that was we try we will talk a little
bit more about. Yeah, the Warriors matchup. I've got my
watchability index for the eight first round series. Anything from
(26:15):
this week that we need to get to before we
go to the phones.
Speaker 7 (26:17):
I'm excited for the watchability index. I think that'll be fun.
Speaker 2 (26:21):
I think there's a slam dunk number one. I think
there's a slam dunk one, and I think there's a
slam dunk eight. I think between there at two and
seven will be very much up for debate. But we'll
hit that coming up a little bit later on the program.
Let's go to the phones. Stephen Kansas City back in
the leadoff spot. Good morning, Steve. What's going on buddy?
Speaker 1 (26:39):
How are you in? Casey yay?
Speaker 13 (26:41):
What's that bank?
Speaker 1 (26:43):
How are you man?
Speaker 13 (26:45):
Before WrestleMania? The main event tomorrow is the Colorado Springs
football game where they're going to in duck something stinction
Denmar with the Shadoor Sanders. They're flexing the reflexing way
too hard on this on this guy. Uh, what an
(27:07):
insult to Rasson Salam and Russell Westbrook and and all
the all the great Correndo players. The alumni should just
get up and walk out of the building. You know,
all through youth sports, you know, there's always these fathers
that put their sons into these into these titles that
(27:28):
they don't deserve, and this is this is just one
of them. I mean, Hunter deserves it, but this is
an absolute outrage. It's going to take place at Bolsom
Field tomorrow in in Boulder, Colorado, and then should be
called out as as such and not and not be
just all that's that's how it is. Uh, someone needs
(27:50):
to do someone needs to do something and tell tell
Dion you know, he's he's got, he's got Colorado totally
leveraged and and there's nothing and nothing they can do
about it. But I think a good signal would be
all the alumni to walk out when chadure when should
when they put Shaduur's banner up in the Ring of honor,
(28:12):
when there's so many national champions that get that had
no no notoriety and their own program. I mean, it's
just absolutely, absolutely mind blowing. I know there's a lot
of other stuff going on and and this and this
will probably be be covered somewhat, but I mean, it's
just totally ridiculous and then and it shouldn't be.
Speaker 14 (28:35):
It shouldn't be.
Speaker 6 (28:36):
Let let go.
Speaker 13 (28:38):
I also have a question for for breing here. Okay,
we've got we've we've got Bill Bill Belichick with wearing
out is welcome already at North Carolina with no jerseys
at the practice field, no music, no media for their
spring showcase. But we have his girlfriend.
Speaker 6 (29:01):
Saving the day.
Speaker 15 (29:02):
She's going to be in the Miss Maine Miss Hancock
main beauty pageant. I'm not making this up for Miss USA.
She's got her own reality show, got to respect the hustle,
she's got her own and she's going to be competing
against a trans woman. Will I have to get flexus
(29:23):
in on this, on this thing? It Isabella Saints here now?
Can can can she winken Jordan win Miss Maine and
when progressed to the Miss America or Miss USA pageant?
Will she win Miss USA on a reality show? And
(29:44):
she might have to stay a year and trump Towers.
But I think she's going to be a big hit.
I think she was all over the practice field at
North Carolina during the spring game. I think she's going
to be a big star. I know there's a lot
of homely women the Northeast.
Speaker 14 (30:04):
Shot there.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
All right, okay, okay, thanks Steve, I appreciate it. Let
let's let's get the second part first.
Speaker 16 (30:11):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
Jordan Hudson is her name.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
That's the twenty four year old girlfriend of Bill Belichick,
and she is competing in the Miss Maine US beauty pageant.
She was the first runner up last year and uh listen,
they she is competing against as this article says, the
first openly trance contestant in the pageant's history. I don't
(30:39):
know what that has to do with anything, but I
give I give her a shot to win it. I mean,
I don't know anything about what's going on in the
Beauty pageant world, but hey, she's stealing the show at
North Carolina right now, is she not? Every time you
get an update from anything with the tar Heels, it
has to do with Bill Belichick's twenty four year Yes,
(31:00):
yes I did. I don't know, do we You want
to go ahead and crown her Miss Maine leading into
that well.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
With all the power that I have in the pageant world.
Speaker 7 (31:11):
I don't know if you knew that, Chris, you know
I you know, I judge by all kinds of things,
definitely of like boyfriends and where they you know, nil money.
So I'll give her a good shot. I think she'll
win for sure. That's my take.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
If you're wondering about the email story, apparently Belichick's girlfriend
Jordan Huston Hudson, now I've mentioned what three times he
had requested that she be copied on certain emails? Right,
I don't know I'll get that except for that he's
given her a role within the program too, So Hudson's
(31:50):
role will be basically will be kind of as a
I guess you could say personality more than anything else.
I think it's going to be more of an optics thing.
The Athletic reported that basically, while the former cheerleader is
not employed by the university, she has an official job
(32:12):
as part of the team, which appears to be running
early interference on possible claims of nepotism. It's like, no, no, no,
I'm here to make sure that doesn't happen anyway, And
in all seriousness, I don't know, but she's Bill Belichick
has requested she'd be copied on certain emails, and my gosh,
she is everywhere everywhere. North Carolina, by the way, like
(32:35):
most teams in college football, having an interesting battle in
the portal season. Real quick before we go to South
Carolina to the Dion Sanders, the coach prime decision to
retire Shador's number. Yeah, I'm with you. I don't get it.
I don't get it, and I don't understand the feeling
that you need to stand up and even defend it
and double down. Just do it if you want to,
(32:56):
and move on. But he said Russell Westbrook. I know
he Michael Westbrook, one of the all time great wide receivers.
You know, there's a lot of great history and tradition
at Colorado, and you know, when you have a guy
that comes in and wins the Heisman Trophy, he deserves
to have his number retired. But the Sanders thing seems
like a bit of a reach. But there's always a
(33:17):
method to the madness with Coach Prime, there always is.
All right, before we grab a break, Daniel in South
Carolina has been patient, good evening.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
What's up, Daniel?
Speaker 17 (33:25):
Hey, how you doing so? I don't know one thing
I wanted to offer you as a draft dad, and
you probably already know. But I spent a lot of
time on NFL mock draft databas this time. Yes, yes,
those right in one spot. It's nice. But I want
to talk about the Lions real quick. I'm one of
(33:48):
those people that is hoping that they can trade back
and still get one of these smaller interior offensive line people.
I really don't there's a why. I see edge group
out there, you know, group of edge rushers that a
lot of people want the Lions to pick. But to me,
most of them are real toolsy and I'm proven, and
(34:09):
I'd rather go with either a Gray's Abel or a
Tyler Booker or a Jonahs Savant. And I if I'm
saying that right, the Samoan.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
Guy, Yeah, you're closing up for me.
Speaker 17 (34:21):
Right, But uh, you know a guy like that or
Josh Simmons, whoever falls in that interior line, I think
is a better long term answer for them. This edge group,
I think we're going to have some guys that come
out real good, but right now it's a total crabshoot
on which ones are going to be the good ones
and which ones are going.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
To be the bush Dude, you're speaking my language, my
love language. Thanks for the call. I appreciate. I love
Tyler Booker, I really do. Uh.
Speaker 2 (34:46):
And I think when you're talking about interior offensive lineman,
that's that's the kind of guy that I think you're
going to see in that area that's available. But but
as you've said, every mock draft at Siney mock draft
seems to have the Lions kind of gearing more towards
an edge rusher. And this isn't a star studded edge
(35:07):
rush draft, but it's very it's very intriguing. I think
of I like the Mike Green kid out of Marshall. Okay,
I know you were talking more about some of the
offensive linemen, but when you look at this edge group,
if a Mike Green or even a Shamar Stewart is
there at twenty eight, I think I think that's top
fifteen talent. I think that's I think those are two guys,
(35:29):
and especially with the way that the Lions would use them,
that I would be all about. But if they're not there,
then yeah, let's go interior offensive lineman real quick. He
mentioned Josh Simmons, one of the more intriguing prospects in
the draft. If Josh Simmons finished the season healthy, Josh
Simmons is probably a top five pick in this draft.
But because he had the injury, he drops and boy,
(35:51):
if you're the Lions again, I get it. It's another
tackle pretty good there. But I wouldn't mind having him.
I wouldn't mind having them. I think if you can
get sick at twenty eight, then look at I also,
by the way, and I know we're up against it.
I think twenty eight is going to be an interesting
spot if the quarterbacks start to drop. Now we love
to talk about, oh, you got to trade back into
(36:12):
the first round and get your quarterback.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
It just doesn't happen very often, you know.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
It's in fact, I went and dug through all of
the years that had happened. We've only seen it happen
twice in the last fifteen years where a team trades
back into the first round to get a quarterback. Now
it was Teddy Bridgewater and Lamar Jackson. But I just
it's talked about a lot. I just I don't know
how viable or how possible it's gonna be. And I
(36:37):
think the Lions at twenty eight, the Ravens at twenty seven,
I think those are two places where it will be
very interesting to see if those pigs kind of go
on the market, if indeed the quarterbacks start to slip.
But I like the way you're thinking interior offensive lineman
for the Lions. But if some of those edge guys fall,
look out. I wouldn't reach for James Pearce. I'd wait
if you can get him in the second round. But
(36:58):
love love the idea of some of those edge guys
like Green and Stewart that could be there for you.
All right, quick break, when we come back back to

Speaker 2 (38:28):
Now, I want to make sure you guys have plenty
of times on the phones, so I'm not going to
try to shoehorn one in here at eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox. But I did want to say.
I did want to say I felt like we were
ahead of the curve last week, curb curve curve whenever
we started talking about the Nico Iamliave situation. Now, it
(38:51):
was still kind of developing, and I think we did
a good job kind of bullet pointing it and not
necessarily getting caught up in all the new show around it.
But man, that thing blew up this week, and I
still I don't understand how some people are like toting
the company line here for Nico and his crew, and
(39:14):
how we can't see the like force through the trees.
This was not about an office, This was not about weapons,
This was not about an NFL system. Guys, this was
about money. Quit trying to make it sound like it's
something that it's not. We are an incredibly forgiving society,
and we understand.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
Say hey, I wanted more money, they didn't want to
pay me.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
You're like, oh, okay, that makes sense, even though you
were making as much, if not more than anyone in
college football. But when you come in here and you say, well,
Tennessee hasn't really developed NFL quarterbacks, Yeah, well, neither.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
Had Wyoming or Texas Tech. And look where we are now.
It's about the money. Just be honest with this.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
We'll be honest with your phone calls and X through
the night on Fox Sports Radio stick around.
Speaker 1 (39:58):
You're listening.
Speaker 2 (39:59):
No fuck Sports Radio Boston, Orlando. I don't know what
am I doing here. I put the three six down
as La versus Minnesota. Well done, plank. The three six
is Detroit versus the Knicks, and the four to five
is Bucks versus Pacers. In the West, it's Thunders Grizz, Thunders,
(40:22):
Thunder Grizz, Rockets, Warriors. There's the Lakers and the Timberwolves
and the Clips versus the Nuggets. So here we go.
I'll go in eight, I'll go in what would that be?
Then ascending order will go from the worst to the best,
all right? Number eight in the crisp Plank NBA Playoffs
(40:44):
Watchability Index, the least watchable playoff first round series Oklahoma
City and Memphis. Part of the reason, John morants not
one hundred percent. The other part Oklahoma City is just
dominated Memphis. The Grizzlies haven't beaten the Thunder since twenty
twenty two. Okac's won nine straight against him, and I
(41:08):
don't see that ending now. As someone who covers the
Thunder and loves this team, I would probably say for me,
that probably make it number one. Right, you're watching your
team role. But I put OKC Memphis at number eight,
and then I put just to really kind of hit
the low hanging fruit here, Brie, I took Calves Heat
(41:29):
as number seven. I don't think there's gonna be much
in these one to eight matchups. So is that is
that fair to put them at number eight? Number seven?
Speaker 3 (41:39):
Yes? Okay, I think so?
Speaker 2 (41:41):
So far, Wait, hold on, hold on, trying to give
the Heat a little hope here trying to give the
Grizzlies a little hope here. And by the way, when
I say watchability, you might end up having a five
game series. Like think about the Lakers Nuggets series with
that last year where it was an incredible series. It
ended in five. You know, it ended in a sweep,
(42:04):
but it was a great Every game came down to
a last second shot. And you might say, what was
only a four or five game series?
Speaker 1 (42:12):
Like, I don't care.
Speaker 2 (42:12):
It's a great series because every game came down to
the wire. So when I say watchability, I'm not saying,
oh yeah, it's gonna go seven. I'm saying I think
every game is gonna be good, right, or at least
give you your most entertained.
Speaker 1 (42:24):
Don't you put that clarification?
Speaker 3 (42:26):
Okay again, Okay, sorry.
Speaker 2 (42:28):
So watchability in other words, you're not gonna want to
miss one of the games of these series. Number six
Boston Orlando. Part of this is my own ignorance. I
haven't seen a ton of Orlando, I really haven't. I
love Polo Boncaro, and obviously they found something that clicked
this year.
Speaker 1 (42:47):
They won their division. Did you know that? With a
losing record.
Speaker 2 (42:51):
But I think Boston's gonna get them in maybe five,
and and I don't know how competitive it's gonna be.
They'll be up. There'll be a Paolo Boncaro game where
you look, it was like, dude just scored four twenty
three points. But I think Boston gets the quick number five.
Now we're starting to get into a little bit better matchups.
Rockets Warriors, Rockets warrior, and again I kind of had
to claim a little bit of the same ignorance with
(43:14):
Houston that I have with Orlando. We used to get
the Rockets crammed down our throat here where I live.
Now because of the thunder not so much and the
Mavericks raising their profile every year. Up until this year,
the Rockets have kind of taken a back seat. But
it's one of those teams that they weren't on the
national stage much this year. I mean, let's face it.
(43:35):
In fact, you probably if you're just an NBA casual,
you looked up and you're like, wait, the Rockets are
the two seed right now. Okay, But they're a fun team.
And I think the great debate here is this is
this a Houston Rockets team that is well rested and
(43:57):
with an antagonist like Dylan Brooks and a budding superstar
like Jalen Green. Are they ready to go out and
announce themselves.
Speaker 1 (44:07):
To the world, or.
Speaker 2 (44:11):
Maybe do they get a little bit hot take advantage
of a West that kind of started to throttle it
down a little bit, you know, started to ease up
as the season went on, where you had teams like
the Spurs suddenly in her tank mode when wimbin Yama
went out, the Suns weren't as good as they thought
they should be.
Speaker 1 (44:29):
Sorry, Brie, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
I'm saying I haven't seen enough of the of the
Rockets to truly have a good feel on this one
right now, except to say I think it's gonna go
one way or the other. Either the Warriors is gonna
roll or the Rockets are gonna roll. I don't think
there's a gray area where you look up and this
thing is suddenly in seven. I think it's a five
game series, but again, could be good games all the
(44:52):
way around.
Speaker 1 (44:53):
Number four Bucks Pacers.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
Now this this is wild because I have the Bucks
Pacers at four, the Lakers te Wolves at three, the
Pistons and the Knicks series at two, and the Clips
Nuggets number one in my watchability index. But I honestly think,
bring any of these four series here. I think I
(45:16):
have a chance to be really good and really entertaining,
like Bucks Pacers. Have you guys paid attention to what
Giannis has been doing here recently? He's been on a
on another planet whenever he's been healthy. I mean, the
guy finished up the season averaging thirty and twelve. I
mean he went in his final let me see here,
(45:39):
what do I have in front of him? In his
final five games, he went thirty seven's, let's make it
the final six, thirty seven, thirty five, thirty six, twenty nine,
twenty eight, and thirty two. And he was shooting above
sixty percent. In fact, he shot sixty one percent for
the month so far. And now suddenly Damian Lillard is
(46:01):
ready to go. I don't know, man, bring something about me.
Really likes the Bucks and I love I love this
Pacers team in this matchup too, So I think that's
gonna be fun. I slept on Detroit all year long,
slept on them all year long. I was a casual
when it came to Caid Cunningham, and he sold me
late in the season. The Knicks are Leacoln. They Leacoln
(46:24):
down the stretch, Lakers and Tea Wolves. I mean, come on,
took Anthony Edwards a little bit of time to get
used to playing without Karl Anthony Towns right, that amount
of time was the entire season. But I think that
they can beat anybody and then lo and behold Clips Nuggets.
I mean, come on, could you ask for a more
potentially dynamic matchup than that, especially with the way that
(46:47):
Zuba's been playing. And then you add into it, it's
suddenly like Kawhi Leonard.
Speaker 1 (46:51):
Is gosh, what year was he on the Spur or
what year was he on the Raptors When they want
want to like twenty nineteen, all of a sudden you
got like twenty nineteen, twenty twenty one, Kwhi Leonard out
there just balling. So that's that's my watchability index.
Speaker 2 (47:05):
And I honestly think in those top four and maybe
you could even say, you know, we'll see With Rockets Warriors,
I think those are gonna be four really fun series.
Now tear it apart. Where did I screw up on
this one? What did I misjudge?
Speaker 7 (47:17):
I would just switch Rockets Warriors and Pacers Bucks so.
Speaker 1 (47:20):
You're not as high on the Bucks Pacers as I.
Speaker 7 (47:23):
I'm not, and I it's weird because I actually like
the Pacers. I watched a lot of Pacers like working here. Obviously,
they're super lovable, they're super fun, they're they're they're tough,
they're gritty. I just think it's I don't know. I
think it's gonna be like Bucks in like five or six, Like.
Speaker 1 (47:37):
I don't especially if the Bucks keep playing.
Speaker 7 (47:40):
Like yeah, Yannis just goes off every game, like what
are we doing?
Speaker 3 (47:43):
Like, I don't know.
Speaker 7 (47:44):
I just don't think. I think the Pacers are like
one player away.
Speaker 3 (47:48):
That makes sense, Yeah, it does.
Speaker 1 (47:50):
Could that player be Kevin Durant?
Speaker 3 (47:52):
No, I don't think that.
Speaker 2 (47:54):
Could that player in Dallas that they're one player away
from Kevin Durant. Hey, by the way, that pair yourself
for an offseason of.
Speaker 1 (47:59):
K Now are you ready for it?
Speaker 2 (48:02):
All right, there's my watchability in next Let's get to
your calls at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven seven nine ninety six six three six nine.
Speaker 1 (48:10):
All right, bree, where do you want to start tonight?
Speaker 3 (48:12):
Let's go Jim in Massachusetts.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
He's been waiting the longest Jim, thank you for your patience.
Welcome to Fox Sports Radio. What's going on.
Speaker 6 (48:21):
The deal is you wanted to hear from some Giants
fans see love to I've been a Giants fan since
I came out of the womb in nineteen fifty seven.
Speaker 5 (48:30):
There is no way Chaicue.
Speaker 6 (48:32):
Sanders should be going to the Giants. I hope he
doesn't go. There's no way he can live in that
media market. They will eat him alive. So I wish
they'd go some other direction. Besides, they got a quarterback.
They got Tweedled and Tweedled don there, so they should
be able to. They should be able to, you know,
hopefully play five hundred maybe, you know. So they're just
(48:57):
so screwed up in New York. I wouldn't even that now.
Sanders has great pedigree, but but he grew up in
the shadows of Dad. I mean, Dad went out who
works for everything he got? You know? And I just don't.
I just don't think Secure is a a NFL prospect,
at least not a quarterback.
Speaker 1 (49:19):
Interest man, I appreciate the phone call. Well, he's going
to get drafted as a quarterback and the Giants are
in play at three James. I understand you're a frustration.
Speaker 2 (49:26):
If I was a Giants fan, I would be so
perplexed by the moves they've made this offseason so far.
Speaker 1 (49:33):
I mean, it.
Speaker 2 (49:35):
Seems as if that's a slam dunk spot right to
where if there was a one a quarterback in this draft,
that you would take it and build for the future.
But at least from a betting market perspective, it doesn't
look like that's going to be the case. You know,
when if some would say, you know, you got to
be a win now, I'm a you got to protect
your job, you got to win now, you can't draft
(49:58):
a quarterback, I would just because not And again, I
obviously we probably have different opinions on should or Sanders Jim,
but I'm also not someone that says, oh yeah, I
take them in the top five. I mean, I love
the Raiders, that's my team. They're sitting at six. They
need a quarterback long terms, you know, Smith is a
nice short term answer, I think hope, But long term
(50:21):
they need a quarterback. I'm not I'm not sitting here
banging the table for Shoud or Sanders at six. Wouldn't
mind it. But for those of you that say, well,
you don't want to have a rookie quarterback there if
you're fighting for your job. I would encounter with if
you bring in a rookie and let's say you start
with your vets, if it's Winston, or if it's you know,
(50:43):
Russell Wilson, and I think that we would all lean
towards Russell Wilson in that case. If you brought in
a rookie like Sanders and you're showing development and there's
chemistry there between the two of you, and we're heading
in a positive direction, well, that I'd be as stabilizing
for an owner or at least the direction of a
(51:05):
franchise as going out and winning nine or ten games
with Russell Wilson. Right you, let's say you go nine
and eight, eight nine, But yet Shudor Sanders is looking
good and he's developing. I think there might be more
patience for a situation like that. It's just the way
my mind works. Obviously, zero for one on Giants fans
(51:28):
wanting should door Sanders and Ivory Jim in Massachusetts, like
get it away, all right, Poppy? What's going on out
in San Diego?
Speaker 6 (51:36):
Man?
Speaker 1 (51:36):
How are you say?
Speaker 13 (51:38):
Beautiful night?
Speaker 18 (51:39):
Right here, and Sandy, you're like always right here. Thanks, Frank,
got some picture your guys, And it's going.
Speaker 19 (51:45):
To be the NBA.
Speaker 18 (51:46):
I love the NBA. Got three games for you guys.
The first game, the next Pistons. That's like my favorite,
one of my favorite games. We'll start off with that one,
and that one's a revenge game for rules. The next
they have this game Circles and you know, kar Anthony
Towns is gonna want to get the revenge the New
York crowd. They haven't had a playoff game in a
long time. The minds that minus seven, I'm loving that.
So it's the statement game for the next So that's
(52:09):
my first pick under. On the second game, the game
is going to be at Lakers Timberwolves, and you know
Luca's going to make a review right there in LA
on this playoffs and hey Lebron James and everyone. Yeah,
everyone's liking out the Timberwolves, but the Timberwolves are a.
Speaker 17 (52:26):
Little bit tired.
Speaker 18 (52:27):
They're not going to be there. So minus four, we're
gonna take the Lakers and we're gonna make that blink
blink and save the best for last. I like the
Sunday game. You know the Oklahoma Thunder. They're gonna be
playing against the Memphis Grizz Is that tired with Ja Morant?
We're gonna take advantage. We love this. It's a good
pick minus tem gonna have with the MVP Shy Alexander.
(52:49):
It's thunder or gonna make it that money guys. So
that's that's what I'm loving for the pigs flank. What
do you think?
Speaker 1 (52:56):
So?
Speaker 2 (52:56):
I want to make this clear, just so we're clear,
we're not going this isn't Poppy's parlay right like playings
parlay at the end.
Speaker 1 (53:03):
This is just three picks, right, three picks.
Speaker 18 (53:06):
All straight picks, guys, do straight picks of your around
the Lakers. You're like, hey, that's so many points. Go
with the money and I minus wonder if but these
are all straight picks.
Speaker 1 (53:15):
Yeah, okay, I like it. Thanks for the call, Poppy.
I like it. Now.
Speaker 2 (53:19):
I am a I'm a little bit more maybe nervous
about that number. So you know, minus twelve and a
half just seems like such a big number when we're
talking about a playoff game, and I get it, Like
I even gave you the numbers. The Thunder have won
(53:40):
nine straight against Oklahoma City. The thunder haven't lost to
the Grizzlies since December seventh of twenty twenty.
Speaker 1 (53:48):
Tu.
Speaker 2 (53:50):
But if you say just take the money line, I'm
there for it. Twelve and a half is such a
big number. Kirk is in Ohio, Kirk, you get last
word this segment.
Speaker 1 (54:01):
Man, what's going on?
Speaker 16 (54:02):
Hey, Chris Man, you always keep it real, appreciated. I
want to talk a couple of things. Appreciate that NBA,
but uh, maybe a little brown, So here we go.
I think things for shaping up pretty good for calves.
He's final. My observation on the calves is they're just
(54:23):
too small, too skinny. They get pushed around a lot.
But as long as Boston shoots, as long as they
missed their threes, Cavs got a chance. That's one, okay, Bob,
I like it now. Second, when I got an idea
to make the NBA watch the boy you're with me, aready.
Speaker 1 (54:40):
Listen, I'm listening. I'm with you, Kurt, you know.
Speaker 16 (54:45):
And the in football, you got the two minute warning, right,
everybody's excited, anticipates in the urgency, especially in the second half.
Yadaya ya, I say you cannot shoot a three pointer
until two minutes to go. I like it in the
first and second quarter and the third quarter. Meanwhile, Chris,
(55:10):
all dunks are worth three points all game long. That's
gonna give me and you and everybody more inside play.
That's what we want, that's what we cry about. And
then they can shoot the threes. They can shoot themselves
back in the game or out of the game completely.
With three minutes ago in the fourth quarter, Man, I
think i'd be super tell.
Speaker 2 (55:32):
Me what you think, so let me make sure I
understand it here, just real quick before we give you
a Browns thought. Dunks are always worth three, but the
three point shot is only worth three in the final
three minutes of the game. Are both the first half
and the.
Speaker 16 (55:47):
Game in the first half the last two minutes of
each quarter.
Speaker 1 (55:52):
Chris, Oh, okay, okay, it's quarter. We're going okay, fair
enough to know here, And what do you go to
the Browns for me? Kirk? What are you thinking?
Speaker 16 (55:59):
You know the Browns are going to?
Speaker 14 (56:00):
Well?
Speaker 16 (56:01):
How big is this this Heisman Trophy kid from Colorado?
Speaker 1 (56:05):
Travis Hunter? Yeah, six foot one?
Speaker 14 (56:09):
Not bad?
Speaker 16 (56:10):
But see way two?
Speaker 1 (56:12):
Uh what I got him here? I got him at
six one. I got him at one eighty eight.
Speaker 16 (56:16):
Not big enough? How about that? How about that Dee
from Penn State.
Speaker 2 (56:20):
Everybody's cackling about everybody's cackling about Abdul Carter.
Speaker 1 (56:25):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (56:25):
He's six foot three, two fifty one.
Speaker 15 (56:30):
Man.
Speaker 16 (56:32):
Trade the picks, Just trade them.
Speaker 1 (56:35):
Thanks, Kurt. I appreciate your call.
Speaker 19 (56:39):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (56:39):
Okay, let me go back to Kirk's the rule changes here, Bribe.
I like ingenuity, I like creativity. I don't think the
NBA is going to go away from the three point shot.
But if you made it at the end of each
quarter in the final two minutes, that's the only time
a three pointers worth three points that would generate some excep.
Speaker 3 (57:01):
Maybe he's really like an All Star game.
Speaker 1 (57:03):
I like that idea.
Speaker 2 (57:04):
Maybe you tried out during an exhibition game or an
All Star game. It definitely would be more entertaining. Kirk
definitely would be more entertaining. All right, listen, Gunner, I'm
ready hang in there, buddy. I gotta get a break.
I went too long in the first hour and bre
got mad at me. I got a talking to, So Gunner,
we're gonna talk some tea wolves when we come back.
All right, So, we're heading in Minnesota. We're heading Charleston.

Speaker 1 (59:01):
What's going on? Gunner? How are you?
Speaker 18 (59:04):
Oh?
Speaker 10 (59:04):
I'm doing all right.
Speaker 18 (59:05):
How about you?
Speaker 2 (59:06):
It's a clear sound and connection, mam man, I'm doing great.
Great to hear your voice.
Speaker 18 (59:11):
Oh yeah, I'm I've been making.
Speaker 19 (59:13):
This plus for a while.
Speaker 1 (59:15):
So what's on your mind tonight? What do you got?
Speaker 19 (59:19):
Well?
Speaker 10 (59:19):
I didn't listening to all of these people and talking
all Nakers though when Lakers are sweet, but because it.
Speaker 9 (59:25):
Win five and it's like edworks.
Speaker 6 (59:28):
Like you said, I'm glad to talking about Lakers and Man's.
Speaker 10 (59:31):
All oh and Man's gonna show up like you did
last year and he's uh making all the way this year.
Speaker 13 (59:42):
I'm when that happens, that's for sure.
Speaker 2 (59:44):
Hey, Hey, yeah, great, go ahead, go ahead, keep cooking,
Keep cooking, Gunner.
Speaker 10 (59:50):
I got one more thing here.
Speaker 15 (59:52):
Who do you think that Panthers are draft?
Speaker 1 (59:54):
Oh? The Panthers. That's a team that we don't hear
much talk about. All right, Gunner got to the call.
Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
There was a little technical hiccup there for a bit,
but overall, I would say smoothest in our ten episode
history here at the Plank Show.
Speaker 1 (01:00:09):
Would you agree, Bree, we got.
Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
Through it, definitely?
Speaker 1 (01:00:13):
I like Gunner.
Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
All Right, Carolina, Well, let's talk about first of all,
what does Carolina need and what's going to be available
to you in the draft? Number one, They definitely need
pass rush kind of were talking earlier the caller talking
about the Lions. Hey, we need an edge, But is
there going to be an edge that's worthy of being
(01:00:35):
taken at that spot in the draft. The good news
for the Carolina Panthers is they probably will have an
opportunity at eight to take the best edge on the
board outside of Abdoal Carter. So Carter's not going to
drop to you, but Jalen Walker might so to me.
If that's your Numero uno top need go get it.
(01:00:58):
I think though, I think eight is a real interesting
spot to start thinking about more weapons for Bryce Young
and I think about names. I know you're not necessarily
in a need for a tight end, but Tyler Warren
very very capable tied end. Thank brought Bowers, Uh that's
(01:01:22):
what he's and then Tedoe McMillan. Right now, we're looking
at a small number of receivers that could go in
the first round. I think I saw the over under
was at three, and I don't I don't know if
we're going to get to three receivers that go in
the first round. In fact, we might get you know,
depending on how you view Travis Hunter, we might get two. Right,
(01:01:42):
you can if you continue to include Travis Hunter. I mean,
I think that Tederoe McMillan might be the only true
receiver to go in the first round. Now you got
Agba and you've got Golden out of Texas. Here are
two guys a Muka Becca Sorry, two guys, and I
like back is my favorite why receiver in this draft.
But if you're talking Carolina, I love the idea of
(01:02:04):
getting the second best edge.
Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
In the draft.
Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
If you're there and you know Jalen Walker is there,
I think that's a slam dunk. But it wouldn't surprise
me if you see them go wide receiver too. Just
throwing that out there as well. Thanks Gunner. Jerome is
in Charleston. What's going on? Jerome?
Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
Welcome to the show.
Speaker 14 (01:02:22):
It's all rigged, it's all fage. Look here, you mean
to tell me the Laker's not a coach who was
on a stupid podcast about a year ago. They're going
to lead them to a title? How big of a
joke would that be? In the NBA for some novice,
some out of the way guy you ever coach to
day in his life, not even the league, that's going
(01:02:44):
to lead them to a championship. I believe it when
I see it, Okay, I just I just don't buy it.
And the NBA, but they don't call anything, and whenever
they call anything, the players just laughed. They look around
like they just saw the lock left or something. That's
a joke. It's a joke. And by the way, that
(01:03:05):
guy from Melton that took three steps to scored the
winning basket, Gottal comes on the next day. That's the
problem with people like me, because I want to see
the rules and force. That's the problem with people like me.
Three steps, Oh no, that's not traveling, that's not walking.
Speaker 13 (01:03:22):
And he's got guys on his own reels.
Speaker 14 (01:03:24):
I'll say, oh yeah, that's not walking, Matt. What is
this world coming to? Can anybody tell the truth anymore?
Speaker 16 (01:03:31):
Can anybody just make a.
Speaker 14 (01:03:33):
Lot of money and say a lot of crazy stuff
and that makes you popular?
Speaker 1 (01:03:36):
Okay, thank you, appreciate him. I'm not popular, so I
don't say a lot of crazy stuff the NBA.
Speaker 2 (01:03:44):
If you're not a I brought this up a lot.
If you're not a diehard, tried and true, like you've
got me at the logo kind of fan, it's really
unwatchable a lot of times, especially late in the season.
But Jerome, might I interest you in better play in
the playoffs, in more focused play, more whining. I mean,
(01:04:10):
I'm sorry, that's just gonna be the of it.
Speaker 1 (01:04:12):
You're gonna have guys cry more.
Speaker 2 (01:04:14):
Because I still haven't seen an NBA player ever have
a foul called on him.
Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
And go, that's right, call he got me. That's good.
Every single time there's a foul call, what what me?
Speaker 6 (01:04:26):
Me?
Speaker 2 (01:04:27):
And I will say this might have a little tint
of homrism to it, but I think if I call
myself out, it's it's allowable. I mean, Steve Kerr did
basically go from like the podcast Life i E. TV
to winning a championship in his first year with the Warriors, right,
I mean, yeah, I know that there was a little
(01:04:48):
bit more of an executive background on the resume of
Steve Kerr because he was with the Phoenix Suns. But
he was he was not a coach. He was a
general manager. I think he was. I think he was there,
gim help me out here.
Speaker 3 (01:05:02):
I got shah, he went on.
Speaker 1 (01:05:05):
And got shocked. That's right.
Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
And Sean Mary, Now, actually you traded Sean Mary. The
Shack deal wasn't.
Speaker 3 (01:05:12):
Yeah, yes, but they.
Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
They basically, you know, didn't use him as a coach.
He was a GM for a minute and then he
went back to doing TV and then out of nowhere
when Mark Jackson got fired, which was still kind of
a weird thing. I know, there's probably a story there somewhere,
and I haven't. I don't remember what got sideways and
ended up being a smart decision because Kirk comes in
(01:05:37):
in his first year and they won the NBA title.
So Jo, You're one of my favorites. But there is
my one counter that I would have to that podcast
host coming in and winning in his first year in
the league. Edward is in Norcow.
Speaker 1 (01:05:49):
What's going on? Edward? Welcome to the show. Edward might
be gone all right. Edward's loss is Mike the lepre
Kahn gain in Boston? What's going on? Mike?
Speaker 19 (01:06:02):
How are you happy Easter?
Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
Mike?
Speaker 19 (01:06:08):
Happy festivals? The rest of us?
Speaker 1 (01:06:11):
Festivus is Christmas? Right?
Speaker 17 (01:06:14):
Well it was no, it wasn't time. I'll remember.
Speaker 19 (01:06:18):
I think it was.
Speaker 5 (01:06:19):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
No, you're right, it was in Seinfeld, but it was
what Jerry's dad celebrated instead of Christmas. There was the
airing of the grievances. There were feats of strength. But hey,
I'll allow it. I'll allow it tonight.
Speaker 1 (01:06:29):
Mike.
Speaker 19 (01:06:30):
What did you give up for Lens?
Speaker 1 (01:06:33):
Nothing?
Speaker 6 (01:06:34):
Nothing?
Speaker 1 (01:06:36):
I mean, is that gonna? I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:06:39):
I maybe am not as committed as I probably should be,
But yeah, I don't get why did you give something up?
Speaker 19 (01:06:46):
Mike, I gave up Lorena.
Speaker 2 (01:06:51):
But see now, listen, I don't know if that was
your choice, right, I think she gave you.
Speaker 19 (01:06:58):
Give me up? I actually okay, you know what I'm
going to I am going They invited me to the show,
Ben email me. They accepted me to do an over
not not one of their shows or too.
Speaker 2 (01:07:07):
Maybe so you're talking about coming in studio for one
of the shows.
Speaker 19 (01:07:12):
Yes, maybe two?
Speaker 3 (01:07:14):
Oh, you're gonna fly down here for a show?
Speaker 19 (01:07:18):
I know I have to go there anyway for mini vacation.
And I have this really cute little model friend who's
who lives over over there. I'm visiting her anyway. She
lives in the valley and she will be my pure
guide and I have a place to stay, So yeah,
I will make a small vacation.
Speaker 11 (01:07:36):
Chris, I think this color represents the first obsession of
your uh tenure on this show. Do you think so
we got to wor say, with an obsession?
Speaker 3 (01:07:46):
Who calls to talk about his obsession?
Speaker 1 (01:07:49):
Times?
Speaker 19 (01:07:51):
That Mark?
Speaker 2 (01:07:52):
That's Mark, that's Mark. He's calling you out. I think
in a good way, though, I don't think it's a
bit negative.
Speaker 14 (01:07:56):
I really am I forgot.
Speaker 19 (01:07:57):
I should show you the email right now if we
were in FI. But anyway, I am coming. We just
in fact, yesterday I gave him my phone number and
he's we're going to figure it out this summer.
Speaker 17 (01:08:07):
No, that's for sure.
Speaker 19 (01:08:10):
I'm a teacher Boston history time. Boston is having a
huge weekend here two hundred and fifty years since Paul Revere.
Listen my children and new show here of the famous
writer Paul Revere. H I'm going to Eastern Church on Lexington,
which that's where I'm close to. There, that's where they're
having the reenactment of the you know, the first backle
(01:08:34):
of the Patriots Day and the marathons on a Monday.
So it's a big weekend.
Speaker 1 (01:08:40):
Well, best of luck, Mike. The leprecha.
Speaker 6 (01:08:44):
Ahead.
Speaker 19 (01:08:44):
One of my one of my friends is a new
trouble because he's skipping Easter dinner with our Easter dinner
with his family. He's going to the Celtics game. Instead.
Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
Oh my god, Okay, this is a great debate. Thanks
you for calling my go. I appreciate him. We survived
another mic a Leprechaun call. Then get in trouble. I okay,
let's been invited Mike to come to LA and be
the co host on the show.
Speaker 1 (01:09:08):
Did I hear that?
Speaker 6 (01:09:09):
Right?
Speaker 7 (01:09:09):
I don't already co host, but maybe come in for
like a segment because he does have listeners come in.
Speaker 2 (01:09:15):
That's true, That's true. I I I guess I could
have listeners come into my studio. Right, you guys want
to come hang out at a garage with me in Goldsby, Oklahoma,
Let's go. Easter is something that is like mandatory in
(01:09:37):
my house. There are certain and I'm out. I'm not
getting to do it this year because we have games
on Sunday, Like I my job is making me miss it.
But I would I would never be able to miss
for a game Easter. So Mike, I understand why your
friend is probably in trouble. I would assume there's a
(01:09:58):
wife and a family and or maybe mom or dad
want to make sure that he's still coming to Easter.
But I mean, is are you getting back home for
Easter this weekend.
Speaker 1 (01:10:11):
Or not?
Speaker 7 (01:10:12):
I will be going like in the later afternoon, but
I'm working at least Mark.
Speaker 1 (01:10:18):
Is it like a must at tend in your family
Easter Sunday?
Speaker 11 (01:10:21):
Well, all of my family is back in Chicago. Oh okay,
that obligation escapes me.
Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
So you get you get the free pass on that
I will. I would never, ever, and I do mean ever,
be able to get away with like skipping out on
Easter unless it's work relating or some sort of family emergency.
Speaker 1 (01:10:41):
So kudos to your guy. Like I could come in,
I could come in to.
Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
The sales meeting, right, my sales meeting being when I
got to pitch my wife on the Times and I
want to leave the house. It's like, okay, well I
want to leave the house here, You're not going to
do that. So if I went into the pitch meeting
and I said, Babe, on Easter. I know it's a
big deal, and i know we're hosting, but I've got
court side tickets and a free private jet to fly
(01:11:10):
me to watch the Lakers and the Timberwolves and they'll
fly me back right after the game, she'd be like, no,
you're not missing Easter.
Speaker 1 (01:11:18):
Sorry, I mean, it's just how it's just how it
is in my home.
Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
And I don't know, I've never really given up anything
for Lynn, Am I the only one here? Did you
give up anything?
Speaker 7 (01:11:27):
Did you know it's been probably about like fifteen or
sixteen years since I have Like.
Speaker 1 (01:11:32):
If I'm just not good at giving up, it's a word.
Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
I'm look, I am. I am bibe and indulged too much.
I'm probably very guilty of at least six of the
seven Deadly Sins on a regular basis. So thank you
for making me feel less like a Christian tonight, Mike
is what it is. You got time for Emmitt.
Speaker 1 (01:11:50):
In Washington to kind of clear out the phones here
before we talk some draft. Let's do it playing.
Speaker 21 (01:11:56):
How are you doing?
Speaker 6 (01:11:56):
Man?
Speaker 21 (01:11:56):
I know you have to deal with RNY on Easter.
That's like a great Easter basket.
Speaker 1 (01:12:00):
Oh my gosh, you just completely and totally reminded me
of that.
Speaker 17 (01:12:03):
I forget about it.
Speaker 1 (01:12:04):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 19 (01:12:05):
Yeah you could, like that's the.
Speaker 21 (01:12:06):
Way you can get out of the show. But like
you know, my wife, you know, she wants me to
coast his dinner, you know, Arnie Jason Martin, I can't
do this.
Speaker 1 (01:12:13):
You know, it's a very good point. It's a very
good point.
Speaker 13 (01:12:15):
The Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 21 (01:12:16):
I mean, he he probably has whenever the NBA Finals
would be in like mid June marked out because somehow
the Knicks are going to make it past the Celtics
or the Cavs and he's going to go there, which
you know he's not. But to answer the question, I
think three kind of touch on it with Mike. Ben
does have listeners come in and they'll hang out, like
for the segment like the B block, like after the
first monologue, and like he comes back from break and
(01:12:38):
they'll get like thirty minutes, and sometimes like they'll even
stay for the whole hour, like the four hour show,
like Eddie Garcia and Siria Sean, who's a Royal listener,
they were both on the show for four hours. You know,
it might have been the Eddi effect, but you know
that's how that works. I called to talk about the
draft though, and your question to open the show with
Shador going to the Giants. Now, I think the Giants
(01:13:00):
would be smart for them to take a guy like
a Shador Sandris, because I just don't know if I
can buy in the Russell Wilson anymore. I mean, I
think he had the best situation possible for Pittsburgh and
it kind of fell apart like past week twelve, right,
So I feel like, if you're the Giants, you should
take Shador because Russell could be a guy that could
develop you. But to be completely honest, there's going to
be an Obdual Carter or Travis Hunt to there most likely.
(01:13:22):
I think that the Giants are going to go that
way considering how good next year's quarterback class is going
to be, and even two years from now, because you
know Mannings, they don't play one year starting, they're going
to play two. So I think that they're not going
to do that. Where I actually do think Shudor is
going to go is a brand of Saints. I think
they're going to either try and just Hepe fall or
make a little trade up there because Derek far that
(01:13:43):
injury did not seem very good. I think if you're
the Saints, you need a new quarterback. That division is
find a wide open, and I think that Shoudor would
be a great person to kind of come in, you know,
get the culture right after Drew Brees because you haven't
found that particular guy. So I think Shudor could do
great there and must be real more, you know, great
offensive coordinator. I don't think he's gonna pan out as
a code so like if he's a one year and done,
(01:14:05):
then Deon Sanders will be there next year.
Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
Oh thanks the phone call, amit? That's quite a little
bomb to drop with you. All right, hey stew On,
that all right because I want to get a break.
I want to talk over that when we come back.
Could you imagine? Could you imagine? I don't think Kellen's
going to be a one and done? Do you No,
don't answer it, don't ass We'll take a break. We
got I've got a somewhat make up some time here
in the air before we grab a time out. Fox

right before the break, Emmitt kind of blew things up
says that he thinks at nine the Saints could go
(01:16:09):
Shador Sanders and it could end up being a one
and done for Calvin Moore and coach Prime would slide
right in in New Orleans.
Speaker 7 (01:16:18):
What say you, I don't think Dion's ever going to
leave Colorado. I think if he was going to leave,
he was going to go to Dallas and that was
going to be like a whole splashy splash, and that.
Speaker 3 (01:16:28):
Just didn't happen.
Speaker 1 (01:16:30):
Jerry loves him, yep.
Speaker 7 (01:16:31):
And if he wasn't going to go, and this was
the time to go, it's not like they were. They
didn't go Dion, and they went you know some other big,
you know, flashy coach.
Speaker 1 (01:16:40):
Yeah, Jerry, they were Shatnheimer right, there was Shawnheimer.
Speaker 7 (01:16:45):
So like that was the opportunity for him to go.
But I think he's settled in Colorado. He's built a whole,
you know, program from the ground up.
Speaker 6 (01:16:54):
Now.
Speaker 7 (01:16:55):
I think he'll just stay there. I mean I would
be against it, honestly. I mean I think, like some
other like universe, I think it would be kind of fun.
Speaker 3 (01:17:04):
But I mean I have some faith in Kellen.
Speaker 1 (01:17:08):
I do too.
Speaker 2 (01:17:09):
I think Kellen Moore has been deliberate in the way
that he's gone about choosing coaching opportunities. He's had many
chances right to pursue head coaches jobs in both the
college and the pro ranks, and here is one that
just it appeared to click with him from day one.
(01:17:29):
And I think he's going to be able to choose
the quarterback he wants. If you know, the Derek Carr
shoulder injury is severe enough to cost him the season,
then Kellen Moore is going to be able to go
out and I think get his guy, or at least
groom a young guy, and if it's Carr, you know,
maybe they'll work well together.
Speaker 1 (01:17:47):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:17:47):
I don't think it's going to be Car.
Speaker 7 (01:17:49):
I also want to just like throw in and maybe
I'm a little de Lulu over here, but I still
believe in Spencer Rattler, and I wonder if he also
kind of sees something special in him and that was
something that he was like, oh well, maybe let me try,
let me see if I can get something.
Speaker 3 (01:18:04):
Out of him.
Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
Brie, have you had friends that talk to you about
relationships that maybe have been negative in the past and
they're like, hey, man, stay away from that person, that
girl or whatever. Bri Oh, Spencer Rattler is going to
break your heart. It's just not that really, He's just
not that guy. Then go look at it. Go watch
his college tape. I mean he was given the keys
(01:18:29):
to the car at Oklahoma. Anyway, maybe that's just Pierre.
I like my root for him. I root for him
a lot. He also got unfairly kind of hill of
fun yes at Oklahoma. So it is is what it is.
It became so bad. The Hayte and Spencer Rattler game
was the number one game in town for a while
here in Norman, Oklahoma.
Speaker 6 (01:18:51):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
Anyway, Hey, I want to remind you we got a
pregame show that kicks off presented by bet MGM. It's
called Countdown Every Saturday and Sunday from nine A to
New Eastern six eighty nine eight time, they'll count you

Speaker 22 (01:19:14):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio a Yes Power
Hour as Arnie likes to call it coming to you
live on a Friday night into a Saturday.
Speaker 2 (01:19:28):
The crew is here, bree Murrow, Mark Ramsey, I'm Chris Plank.
We're merely the pregame show for the fellas here on
Fox Sports Radio, and we got a lot to get to.
I went before the show started and I dug into
some of the best audio from the week that was
involving the upcoming NFL Draft and the Aaron Rodgers saga.
(01:19:51):
But real quick to kind of before I obsess for
the next ten minutes, we'll get to Breeze three. I
got my Plank parlay coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:19:58):
That's back this week.
Speaker 2 (01:20:00):
Couple of notes you heard from disager. Playoffs are now set.
Hawks fall to the Heat one twenty three one fourteen.
Memphis beats the Mavericks won twenty one oh six, So
that means the Heat and the Grizz clinch the eight seeds.
They get the excitement of starting playoff action tomorrow. That'd
be Sunday. Oklahoma City will get Memphis, whom they've beaten
(01:20:23):
ninth straight times. The Grizz haven't beaten the Thunder since
twenty twenty two. The Calves will take on the heat
starting tomorrow. Got the full schedule, got my watchability index.
If you missed it, find it on the podcast search
Fox Sports Radio. However you consume podcast. And let's see
what else did we have in the NBA? Oh yeah,
the MAVs mismanaged. The season finally comes to what I
(01:20:43):
guess you could call a pretty merciful close.
Speaker 1 (01:20:46):
Now, got my draft notebook.
Speaker 2 (01:20:49):
And before we go all in on all my notes
and nuggets, let me go ahead and talk about Shad
or Sanders, because I don't know what's gonna happen. I
have no clue, but I have constantly and consistently felt
that this just can't possibly be.
Speaker 1 (01:21:07):
The plan for quarterback with the New York Giants. Just can't.
Speaker 2 (01:21:12):
Your plan in a season, in a make or break season,
is to have Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. Oh yeah,
Tommy DeVito's is still on the roster too. Now that's
not saying that I think they need to take Sanders
at three, or that they have to try to get
Jackson Dart or someone in the second or third round
(01:21:34):
for a Dylan Gaber, whatever it might be. I just
bree if our jobs are on the line, right you
want to go out and get the best possible help player,
whatever it is. And I just this planet quarterback doesn't
make any sense to me, Like does it to you
if you're the Giants?
Speaker 3 (01:21:53):
No, autely no.
Speaker 2 (01:21:56):
So I want to share what Todd Bigshah I got
four cuts here what Todd McShay had to say on
his podcast about the possibility of Shador Sanders at three.
Speaker 4 (01:22:07):
Everyone agrees cam Moore's going number one to Tennessee.
Speaker 5 (01:22:09):
Cleveland's staying at two. In they're picking Travishunter apparently in
the last several days. And it's not.
Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
No one's saying it's going to happen, but people are
telling me, don't close the book on Shaudor to the
Giants at three. It's either Shadoor or it's Abdul Carter,
and most people think it's going to be Abdul Carter.
It's interesting though that I think there's like a landscape
thing going on here.
Speaker 21 (01:22:38):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (01:22:39):
Shaudor, as we.
Speaker 4 (01:22:40):
Said, he's not going six to Vegas, he's not going
seven to the Jets.
Speaker 5 (01:22:43):
He's not going nine to the Saints. Okay, so.
Speaker 2 (01:22:50):
Don't think he's going to the Saints at nine which
a lot of people now have. I think it's he's
the odds on favorite right to be the pig for
the Saints if you get into some of them NFL
draft odds. But he's like nine is where he's slotted
to go. But McShay has been pretty consistent in saying, hey,
look at the history, and I guess the bottom line,
(01:23:13):
more than anything else is if you see successful Kellen
Moore quarterbacks, they're not the Shador Sanders type. They're more
maybe physical, They're more Dak Prescott. Jalen hurts, I mean,
and it hurts guy that can run a little bit more.
And that's, you know, maybe more of a Jackson Dart
(01:23:35):
than it is as Shad Or Sanders. But to Todd
mcshae and many others, hey don't count out this possibility
at three.
Speaker 4 (01:23:43):
Do you know who had had his fourth and final
visit with the team, kind of last minute Abdulla Carter
with the New England Patriots. Here we are on ten
days out from the draft, April fourteenth, twenty twenty five.
Speaker 5 (01:23:59):
Ten days out from the raft. All of a sudden,
Abdul Carter is the agent doesn't.
Speaker 4 (01:24:04):
Let Abduel Carter travel to Foxboro, Massachusetts.
Speaker 5 (01:24:08):
If he thinks there's it's chance.
Speaker 4 (01:24:10):
So the agent's getting the same information that I'm getting
that NFL teams are getting.
Speaker 5 (01:24:13):
That Shador could be in play at three.
Speaker 2 (01:24:15):
So obviously a couple of days ago. But still start
connecting the dots. All right, you heard Shadors taking a
trip one final workout, mega workout with the Giants. Then
all of a sudden, you're that Abdul Carter's taking a
visit to New England.
Speaker 1 (01:24:30):
Interesting. Interesting, this is what.
Speaker 4 (01:24:33):
People are talking about, and they're asking me questions here,
what are you hearing?
Speaker 5 (01:24:37):
We're hearing this.
Speaker 4 (01:24:40):
There seems to be a common thought within league circles
that it's either three to the Giants, which a lot
of people thought was a dead concept.
Speaker 5 (01:24:51):
But it's creeping back in, is what I'm told.
Speaker 4 (01:24:54):
Or it's twenty one to the Giant to the Steelers.
Speaker 5 (01:24:59):
The NBA between would be a team trading up ahead
of Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 (01:25:04):
Wait wait, wait twenty one to the Steelers. Really, I I.
Speaker 2 (01:25:12):
Never really thought that number one Senor Sanders would even
be considered to still be on the board that late.
And I don't know it just you kind of think
about the flash of Shador Sanders right, doesn't really seem
to match with the mindset I perceive a guy like
Mike Tomlin to have.
Speaker 1 (01:25:33):
But here's what Todd McShay said about that.
Speaker 4 (01:25:37):
More information on Shaudor is I am told and trust
your sources or you know, figure it's lying season and
it's lying season and it's making its rounds just because,
but I tend to trust where I'm getting this information.
Mike Tomlin really likes should Or if he's there at
twenty one, should Door could very well be at Pittsburgh Steeler,
(01:25:58):
and I don't if Aaron Rodgers is there, I don't
think one would have to do with the others. Two different,
two different elements to this. Aaron Rodgers is to win
games now. Drafting should Or Sanders if he's there at
twenty one would be to finally get the solution at
the most important position for the long term.
Speaker 1 (01:26:14):
Okay, excuse me, So there you're excused. So there you go.
Speaker 2 (01:26:21):
Apparently Mike Tomlin is enamored, are really likes shad Or Sanders.
Does it change anything, Bree anything, Guys in the way
that you now view the first round with that information,
And I think it's also fair to mention. Everyone's got sources.
(01:26:42):
Everyone out there has people they're talking to. This is
one of those faces of the draft. Todd kind of
disappeared last year after he parted ways with the ESPN,
but he's come back with a vengeance and his podcast
blown up. Just ask him, he'll tell you about it.
And I think people talk to him. So with that
in mind, I mean, is it a situation, Bree where
(01:27:02):
we could watch the door Sanders fall and end up
in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 7 (01:27:08):
See, and I think Pittsburgh is more likely to trade
up to get him, like I like, I think that's
an option too. I think he could fall or they
could trade up to get him if he's going to
go that route.
Speaker 3 (01:27:18):
That's my opinion too.
Speaker 2 (01:27:19):
And I and I do think when you start getting
you know, we had we had but a little bit
earlier in the show the question about Carolina and what
they might do Gunner and ask about the Panthers, And
I mean, maybe you start looking at places like you know,
(01:27:39):
Carolina at and that might be a little bit too
much to try to move all the way up to
where where would Carolina be in the draft nine eleven?
Whatever it might be, It's that seems like a lot
to try to move up right. But I would also
say that.
Speaker 1 (01:27:57):
I I don't think i'd put it past Pittsburgh to
move up right.
Speaker 2 (01:28:03):
Maybe it's fifteen to Atlanta, maybe it's sixteen to Arizona.
But if he starts to fall, then do you panic
and go get him or do you just say, hey,
we'll be patient here and maybe Chador will fall to us.
I'm looking at a CBS mock right now. This is
(01:28:24):
from josh Edwards. Not too terribly familiar with Joshua's work,
but in his most recent projection, he has your Saints
taking Tedoro McMillan, which I think would be a nice pick.
But he also the he's got the Sanders pick to
Pittsburgh with him sliding all the way down to twenty one.
So I don't know, Pittsburgh fans, I don't know how
(01:28:47):
you feel about that. But based on the craziness of
the offseason so far, with Aaron Rodgers, I guess not
being able to make up his mind, you'd at least
have the quarterback situation set right now.
Speaker 1 (01:29:00):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:29:00):
Speaking of Aaron Rodgers, I waited two hours and ten minutes,
So is are you okay now? If I dive into
my Aaron Rodgers interview recap, I.
Speaker 3 (01:29:10):
Was so surprised you waited this long. I thought we
were going to open the shot. I was prepared. I
actually sent off the show tweet with Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 1 (01:29:16):
Yeah. Let me defend myself though, too.
Speaker 2 (01:29:18):
I've taken quite a few shots on the social media's
because you guys feel like I'm a little bit obsessed
with the Aaron Rodgers saga. And I'd say, that's fair.
You know, it's nothing. Listen, it's not It's not like
I'm anti Aaron Rodgers. It's not like I'm pro Aaron Rodgers.
I'm just I'm always intrigued when he has something to say,
(01:29:39):
and this week he had something to say, and he
went on with Pat McAfee as he typically does, and
he gave an update on what's currently going on involving
whether or not he's going to play, or whether or
not he's going to retire.
Speaker 23 (01:29:54):
You know, I'm in a different phase of my life.
I'm forty one years old. I'm in a serious relationship
off the field. Stuff going on that requires my attention,
you know, to make a commitment to the team is
a big thing. Whether you're a first year player or
a twenty year vet. So yeah, retirement still could be
a possibility. But right now, my focus has been and
has been and will continue to be in my personal life.
Speaker 1 (01:30:15):
So let me translate that, Brie, and you tell me
how I did translating this. Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:30:20):
That told me that Aaron Rodgers isn't doing anything in
the offseason. So, in other words, if you want Aaron Rodgers,
he's coming in for training camp, and that's it. Because
if you want him at OTAs, if you want him
at voluntary and involuntary workouts, it ain't happening.
Speaker 1 (01:30:39):
Because that sounds like a guy.
Speaker 2 (01:30:41):
Again, I guess you could say he's earned that right
and there's team still pursuing him. That to me sounded
like a message of I ain't coming to your off
season workouts.
Speaker 1 (01:30:51):
That fair, Maybe way to.
Speaker 3 (01:30:53):
Translate that, Okay, Okay, totally.
Speaker 1 (01:30:57):
He also told teams the price range that he's can
that right now.
Speaker 23 (01:31:00):
I had a lot of great conversations with a lot
of teams. I've been straight up with these teams from
the start about where I was at, you know, starting
with the money thing. I told every single one of
the teams I talk to, you know, laying about the money.
I'll play for ten ms.
Speaker 1 (01:31:14):
You know, I don't care.
Speaker 23 (01:31:15):
I never once said I need a multi year deal
thirty forty million dollars. I said I played for ten.
Speaker 2 (01:31:21):
I want to be in a place in life. I'm
just again, based on the market value. What he's saying
is true. Hey, that's that's a that's a deal. If
you're going to get a Hall of Fame quarterback that's
got a Super Bowl ring and it's going to Pro Bowls,
even at forty one years of age, you're going to
get it for ten million dollars, that's a deal.
Speaker 1 (01:31:41):
But for all of us normal.
Speaker 2 (01:31:43):
Peeps, yeah, pay Hey Scott, I'll continue to do the
show for you know, ten mil.
Speaker 1 (01:31:50):
Probably do.
Speaker 2 (01:31:52):
I want to be in a place in life where
I can talk about how I'll I'll take a pay
cut to do things for ten mil.
Speaker 1 (01:31:58):
Again, it's right, it's fair.
Speaker 2 (01:32:00):
It's just it's another one of those things that I
think when Aaron Rodgers says it, in his mind, it
sounds good, but then when it comes out, it's like, Bro,
you're just talking about you'd be a deal for anyone
at ten million dollars, which is true, but when that
thing gets aggregated, ain't nobody taking the time to go
(01:32:22):
dig and see the going rate for a quarterback? They're
gonna say. Skuy's saying he's gonna pay for ten mil.
And he's talking about it being a deal. Two more,
two more. His final meeting with the Jets, I thought,
of all the stuff that came out from Aaron's most
recent media appearance, I thought this.
Speaker 1 (01:32:42):
I thought this was the most interesting. On his final
meeting with the Jets.
Speaker 23 (01:32:46):
I figured that when I flew across country on my
own dime, that there was gonna be a conversation. And
twenty seconds in he goes, I mean literally, I'm talking
to the GM about something. And he leans to the
edge of the sheet and goes, should you want to
play football? And I was like, yeah, I'm interested. And
he said we're going a different direction a quarterback. And
I was kind of shocked. Now, not shocked because I
(01:33:08):
didn't think that was a possibility. Listen, of course they
want to move on. That's totally fine, but shocked because
I just flew across the country. You could have told
me this on the phone. So I said, huh, and
he goes, we just want to know how you want
it released the messaging and I said why and then
he said, I don't want to be up in front
of the room saying something and have guys looking back.
Speaker 5 (01:33:29):
At you interesting.
Speaker 23 (01:33:30):
And I said, what does that even mean? Are you
assuming that I would be in the back of the
room during the team meeting, undermining what you're saying. I said,
you don't know me, and he said you don't know me,
and then I said, exactly, which is why I flew
across the country to have a face to face meeting
with you to talk about my experience with the Jets.
(01:33:51):
What I thought was going to be a couple hour
meeting turned into like a fifteen minute meeting and I
walked out of there.
Speaker 1 (01:33:58):
Where do you think the uh, the vibes are on
that amongst Jet fans? Right?
Speaker 2 (01:34:05):
You think it's good? Good on you, Aaron Glynn. That's
what we needed, that's what we wanted, baby way to go.
Or do you think it's more dude, what are you doing?
That's like the most viable quarterback option that we have
and it's kind of up in the air as to
whether or not he should or would come back, and
right away you're just hey, man, we're not going to
(01:34:26):
bring you back.
Speaker 1 (01:34:28):
Where did you stand on that one? Brie? I know
we got a really good promo that's running.
Speaker 2 (01:34:33):
Colin Coward talked about I mean, you own the professional courtesy,
but I mean should have been over the phone. Hey man,
we want to make sure that you understand that you're
making this trip, but our intentions already head in a
different direction.
Speaker 1 (01:34:45):
Should there have been a heads up on that?
Speaker 7 (01:34:47):
And I think it just validates a lot of Jets fans.
I think they know what kind of mess of organization
they're dealing with.
Speaker 3 (01:34:54):
He validates them.
Speaker 1 (01:34:55):
Well, if that.
Speaker 2 (01:34:57):
Too was the sales pitch of Hey Matt, I just
want to know what the messaging is so that way,
you know, I don't have a bunch of people looking
at you.
Speaker 1 (01:35:04):
It's like, what does that even mean? What are you
worried about? Him? Still kind of controlling the narrative in
the locker room? Who cares?
Speaker 3 (01:35:12):
And why would you ask? You still want to play football?
Speaker 1 (01:35:15):
Right? The very first flitch?
Speaker 3 (01:35:17):
What do you think I'm here? Right?
Speaker 1 (01:35:19):
Oh? Gosh? All right?
Speaker 2 (01:35:20):
So then it flipped on one final cut here, this
is my Aaron Rodgers obsession. One final cut. He was
asked about his visit with the Steelers.
Speaker 23 (01:35:31):
Personally, I wanted to see what it was like there,
see the facility, get to meet on more in person.
Let's get a glimpse of snippet of what life would
be like in Pittsburgh. So I thought it was important
to go see it in person. And I also want
to do it as quietly as possible.
Speaker 2 (01:35:49):
Yeah, that lot of part didn't really go so well
because it cut out pretty quick. But I think the
bottom line, more than anything else, I think it's trending
towards Aaron Rodgers being the quarter back at Pittsburgh next
year and Shaudor Sanders in some way, shape or form
ending up in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 (01:36:05):
Now, I don't know if.
Speaker 2 (01:36:08):
I don't know if Aaron's gonna be a good mentor
you know, you go back to the twenty twenty draft.
Whenever Jordan Love got drafted, he wasn't very happy about it,
but he never made live hard on Jordan Love, right,
He always supported him. You asked Jordan Love. To this day,
he'll speak glowingly about Aarn But I don't know, man,
I am.
Speaker 1 (01:36:31):
I feel like I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:36:31):
More perplexed about what his future plans are today than
I was before. Right, my mind is saying, oh yeah,
he's gonna end up in Pittsburgh because the Steelers are
waiting this out, and that's why they haven't done anything else.
Right number one, But number two it's like, I don't know, Brie.
He still sounded like a guy you're taking, Hey, I
got my number one priority is my personal life.
Speaker 1 (01:36:53):
Right now, It's like, well, that's not that.
Speaker 2 (01:36:56):
Would lead you to understand why Aaron Glenn might ask
a question like that when you're sitting with them. But everyone,
I think during the off season is eating up with
their personal life.
Speaker 1 (01:37:04):
That's good. That's how it should be.
Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
You should be focused on your family and your faith,
your life whatever. I just when it comes out of
Aaron Rodgers' mouth, for some reason, I just feel like
it's another step towards retirement.
Speaker 7 (01:37:18):
I was thinking of retirement the entire interview, like the
entire thing. And I think it's also like, I don't
think he's ever gonna say like, hey, you know what,
I really couldn't find a team that I really really
wanted to go to. Nothing was gonna work out, So
I'm just gonna lean towards retirement. I just think he's
just you know, saying a lot of these things.
Speaker 3 (01:37:35):
Like, hey, it's still a possibility, but no, I'm one
hundred percent retirement.
Speaker 6 (01:37:39):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:37:39):
What if let's just play a hypothetical, Okay, all right,
and I know we got a break and Breeze three's
coming up next.
Speaker 1 (01:37:46):
What if the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (01:37:47):
Come out tomorrow and say, you know what, we're gonna
go with Mason Rudolph, which, by the way, I'm sure
Pittsburgh Steeler fans.
Speaker 1 (01:37:54):
Would handle that well.
Speaker 2 (01:37:55):
But what if they just decide to say, hey, we appreciate,
you know, the conversations with Aaron Rodgers where you're gonna
go ahead and go in.
Speaker 1 (01:38:02):
A different direction.
Speaker 2 (01:38:03):
And if it's that, if that's you know, trying to
talk the Saints into car or trying to talk Kirk
Cousins into there are just drafting a rookie and going
with them whatever it might be, and they just move
on from Aaron Rodgers, what options does he have left?
Like seriously anywhere?
Speaker 3 (01:38:21):
I know, if we talked about the forty nine ers,
maybe something.
Speaker 1 (01:38:24):
Yeah, right, maybe, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:38:27):
I just I kind of feel like those maybe the
Vikings still because there had been talks, right and they haven't.
They haven't slammed the door shut. Now other reporters have,
the Vikings really have, and I don't know. It just
seems as if it seems as if Aaron's still kind
of controlling the narrative when it comes to the Seilers,
And I'll be interested to see if they kind of
(01:38:48):
fire back and like no, no, no, we were done, especially
if they do end up getting Shodor Sanders. All right,
So there's a lot of quarterback talk to kick off
our number three. Let's cleanse the palette because when we
come back, breeze three planks parlay and much much more
as we head on the home stretch. It's the Plank

(01:40:16):
it's that time. Breeze three.
Speaker 1 (01:40:17):
Let's go not one, not two.
Speaker 3 (01:40:20):
But three.
Speaker 1 (01:40:23):
It's entertainment. It's good. It's Breeze three.
Speaker 5 (01:40:29):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (01:40:31):
All right, Where are we going tonight? Breeze?
Speaker 10 (01:40:33):
Okay?
Speaker 7 (01:40:34):
So, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelcey are opening up like
a steakhouse in Kansas City, right, Okay. We talked a
little bit earlier about Derek Carr doing some car reviews
on social media.
Speaker 1 (01:40:45):
Just terrible timing. Terrible timing. Man, I love you, but
holy smokes.
Speaker 7 (01:40:49):
Man validates my whole reasoning for why I'm not such
a big fan.
Speaker 3 (01:40:53):
To each their own.
Speaker 7 (01:40:54):
So it just kind of got me thinking of like
players and being like spokespeople, or having indoorsements or opening up,
you know, different businesses if you can, like come up
with like three athletes that you think should be in
have endorsements for sir. Okay, okay, So in honor of you,
my number one, I went Gardner Minshew to be like
(01:41:17):
a Levi's model.
Speaker 1 (01:41:19):
Like jeans, okay, shorts.
Speaker 7 (01:41:22):
Kind of, I'm right, right, so you know, or you know,
like you go like the whole hair route thing, you know,
just like some well I should I'll say that for
my autible mentions whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:41:33):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (01:41:33):
So I was like, you know, some mustache kind of thing,
you know whatever. So that was my number one. I'm
number my number two I went Luca and I went
like night cream, And I'll tell you why, Like wrinkle prevention.
Like I've always said that Luca needs like botox, is
gonna need botox. Down the line with all the whining
and the twinting crying like it's insane. And I've been
(01:41:57):
saying that since he's been playing the Suns like forever,
like just so much complaining. So I feel like he
needs some night cream, some good night cream with some Retina.
Speaker 1 (01:42:05):
You spokesperson forty can represent it. It can be his thing exactly.
Speaker 7 (01:42:09):
So that's that's what was my second one, and then
my third one, jameis Winston. I think like an inspirational
book writer like Chicken Soup for the soul kind of vibe,
and I think it needs to be like Winston's like
wise words of like all these inspirational quotes to get
you through some tough times.
Speaker 1 (01:42:27):
Like things like that, those types of things.
Speaker 3 (01:42:31):
Yes, because I mean, you know he does. I mean
like when he was doing the Super Bowl coverage, he
was all over the place.
Speaker 7 (01:42:37):
Oh yeah, and then I think I forgot what player
came out and said that he was He started off
with some inspirational quotes and then started singing the Monday
Night Football a theme song.
Speaker 18 (01:42:47):
At the end.
Speaker 7 (01:42:48):
So I just think he, you know, he has a
way with words and just trying to really pump up people.
And I think we're at a time where so much
is going on.
Speaker 3 (01:42:56):
And people love to hear like inspirational, little happy quote
from well know, So those are my three.
Speaker 7 (01:43:02):
I mean Gardner Minshoe Levi's Luca needs some night cream,
maybe some oil of la. I'm imm Jamis Winston with
you know, being like an inspirational book writer.
Speaker 1 (01:43:11):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:43:11):
I like the way you're thinking. I like the way
you're thinking. That's just going to challenge the creativity. Creativity tonight,
mark what you got?
Speaker 11 (01:43:18):
So I can see now that I did this wrong
because he said, get a here's your best pitch man.
Who's the best who for advertising? And I picked a
couple of actors. Oh that's fine, that's perfect, Okay. So
my first person would be Jason Bateman. He was on
Arrested Development and Hancock Money. So just his voice and
(01:43:39):
just his personality is the way he comes across. I
just like him because he's already doing certain voiceovers now,
but I think he might be doing a Honda but whatever, gotcha?
Speaker 1 (01:43:49):
Gotcha?
Speaker 3 (01:43:50):
So that's one.
Speaker 11 (01:43:50):
And then I would have picked John Hamm because he's
from Madman, tall, dark hair, everybody knows his face. I
guess most people might be able to recognize his voice.
But I would pick John hamp of a bunch of
movies that he's been in, just because John ham.
Speaker 1 (01:44:07):
Is pretty cool.
Speaker 11 (01:44:08):
And the third person I would have picked is Sophia Vigara,
just to have her on screen talking about whatever it is,
just to get through her her accent and just looking
at her.
Speaker 1 (01:44:18):
She would be, you know, the.
Speaker 3 (01:44:20):
Hitch person, easy on the eyes.
Speaker 11 (01:44:22):
Absolutely got three Jason Bateman, John hamm and Sophia Vigara,
and I do have once we get down the road,
I have an honorable mention.
Speaker 1 (01:44:32):
But go ahead here for it. Here for I got
my three. I think I follow the rules.
Speaker 2 (01:44:38):
Number one, I think Tiger Woods could have a pitch
deal with Ashley Madison. Oh, we understand, right, I mean,
if you think about it now, I understand it's a
new Tiger new Tiger, right, But I mean, come on,
I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:44:50):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:44:51):
It's by the way, I'm I'm not trying. But is
that still a thing. I'm afraid to google.
Speaker 1 (01:44:55):
It when he talks about it. Thanks for bringing it up.
Speaker 2 (01:44:59):
Okay, Well, I'm definitely not googling it up on my computer,
that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:45:03):
Honey.
Speaker 2 (01:45:04):
Is there a reason why you googled up Ashley Madison?
It was show research, It was show research that's for
the show. That doesn't really I don't get away with
that one anymore.
Speaker 1 (01:45:14):
I don't know if you guys how much you've followed
Caleb Williams. I know Mark, you're aware of this.
Speaker 2 (01:45:19):
Caleb Williams seems to have a nail painting obsession, so
and he's a big shopper. So I put Caleb Williams
down for any nail salon, like open his own nail salon.
Be that guy, right, nails too, Yeah, that's right. You
can even get the fake nails in there. And so
I was trying to decide which direction I wanted to
(01:45:39):
go to help my man. Nico im Aliava out I had,
I had give me a good like investment firm.
Speaker 1 (01:45:45):
Is there like Merrill Lynch, Okay, Merrill Lynch.
Speaker 2 (01:45:48):
My stepdad, my stepdaud, one of my my ex father
in law used to run a Mary Lynch and they're
always about sound financial investments. Obviously, he's going to become
the poster child after turning down two point six million
to go make what maybe half of that if you're
lucky or the other side of it was like a
light detector test. I'm Niko iamaliavn I'm here to take
(01:46:09):
this light detector to prove to you that I'm really
doing this to change offenses instead of the money. Here
we go, and I'll have Brett Kimo and like five
other dudes that will go on Twitter and say, I
get it, understand her. He wants to go to another offense.
Shut up, No you don't. So those were my three.
Speaker 1 (01:46:25):
And like I said, it's kinda it's tough with Niko,
right do you go like with the light detector or
do you go with the financial advice.
Speaker 6 (01:46:32):
I want.
Speaker 3 (01:46:34):
My detector for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:46:37):
I got so triggered. I'm just gonna tell you right now.
I got so triggered this week and the Nico stuff.
Not not by the process or the decision or you know,
to each their own. But there is this dude that
I guess a lot of you people follow, but he
literally had the Brett Coleman. I don't know who you are, Brett,
(01:46:58):
but I think you authored the dumbest take in the
history of the internet. He said, there's a lot of
smoke out there that Nico's camp originally wanted to leave,
not because of money, but because the current Tennessee system
has a disastrous track record.
Speaker 1 (01:47:11):
Of getting guys ready for the NFL.
Speaker 3 (01:47:14):
Oh my gosh, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (01:47:16):
And then he goes through this thing, He's like, oh,
he's going to UCLA, so it makes sense. I was like, what, really,
that's that's where you're going based on the track record
of UCLA's new offensive coordinator that has put checks zero
players in the NFL right now.
Speaker 1 (01:47:31):
And I mean, I.
Speaker 2 (01:47:33):
Think the dumbest thing in the draft world is when
people talk about a system that a guy played in
in college and now that's going to affect him in
the NFL. Then effect Patrick Mahomes, then effect Josh Allen.
Took him some time, but no one's coming in and
being a Day one rock star anymore. Jane Daniels, it
was his system. He was in two of them. And
(01:47:55):
I mean, gosh, I'm sorry. Anyway back to the original
Brett stop, stop, don't buy You're you're buying something from
that camp that's not true. And you know it, and
we all know it's not about the system, it's about
the money. Quit saying that. That's an embarrassment to Tennessee fans.
That's a shot at vall nation. All right, what were
we talking about? Breece three what were your You said
(01:48:16):
you had some honorable mentions.
Speaker 11 (01:48:18):
Oh, I was gonna say, I know he can't do
it anymore, but I used to love when Bruce Willis
was a pitch man.
Speaker 1 (01:48:25):
Dude, is he Seagrums Golden ye know?
Speaker 18 (01:48:28):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:48:28):
And that had a song see grim golden golden Wine.
Speaker 21 (01:48:32):
Cool.
Speaker 2 (01:48:33):
It's wet and it's dry, which I still don't get
as someone who can now drink, I'm gonna be wet
and dried.
Speaker 1 (01:48:39):
It doesn't make any sense. How long ago was that, uh,
Bruce Willis Seagrums. Let's see here. I'm gonna say probably
thirty years ago.
Speaker 3 (01:48:47):
Okay, that's why I'm very clueless right here.
Speaker 1 (01:48:50):
Let's see here. It went along with nineteen eighty seven.
Speaker 2 (01:48:54):
Oh okay, because he was in a movie called a
TV show called Moonlight. Yea our moonlight Light, Moonlighty moon Lighting,
and he's like, I mean, looking back now, he's like
in his late twenties, early Thursday at thirties.
Speaker 1 (01:49:06):
But he's a rockstar. Man. I know he's battling right now,
but I like him as a pitch man. Was there?
Did you say you had an honorable mention too, Brie
or not?
Speaker 19 (01:49:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:49:15):
Well, Calvin Ridley. I think, like Draft Kings.
Speaker 2 (01:49:22):
What there's so many candidates for that, I know, but
that's the perfect one. I like the former Alabama baseball
coach that got busted for making the pick in the
actual casino or tech. I'm sorry texting the guy in
the casino hot. I'm Brad Bullhandon and I'm here for
(01:49:44):
Draft Kings. You know now I can legally do it, right.
I like the way that you're thinking. James was Jameson
Williams another guy that.
Speaker 1 (01:49:52):
Got in trouble.
Speaker 3 (01:49:53):
Yes he did.
Speaker 1 (01:49:55):
Yeah, dropped him from my fantasy team. I'm like, well
he's gone. He literally set out one game.
Speaker 7 (01:50:00):
He's like, what what a time? We'll imagine that would
have happened.
Speaker 1 (01:50:05):
Dumped somebody and he's only gone for one game? What
am I doing right now?
Speaker 6 (01:50:09):
Yep?
Speaker 3 (01:50:09):
So those are all Breeze three.
Speaker 1 (01:50:11):
There you go, Breeze three. You got it. I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:50:16):
I got some good text I want to get to
before we get out of here. When I say text
tweets to the show. The best way to stay in
touch with the.
Speaker 1 (01:50:22):
Program is as always on Twitter on X I'm at
Plank show.
Speaker 2 (01:50:28):
You can always follow bree Now. I always try to
screw up her Twitter feed handle, but I promised myself
that I will never do it again. It's Bree Denise
twenty six. We'll get Mark on Twitter at some point,
and uh, I will want to I do have to
say I made a horrific error earlier in the show.
An egregious error, the kids might say, because whenever was
(01:50:50):
it Mike de Leprechaun who tried to bring up Festivus,
I said, Jerry's dad, I'm at Georgia's dad. I'm sorry.
It was just a slip of the tongue gun. He's
been all over before.
Speaker 11 (01:51:01):
Well it was Jerry's show, that's right, And what's their
phase is dad?
Speaker 1 (01:51:05):
So that's right. I think you're pretty closeddes I was there.
Speaker 2 (01:51:09):
I mean it was closed, right, You're a if thing
went off, I hit my target. But it was an
egregious era, So I I humbly apologize here on Fox
Sports Radio. Hey, before we grab a break, Uh, don't forget.

including the latest on Shador Sanders at three or even
me going back over the a arn.
Speaker 1 (01:51:39):
Appearance, the Aaron Rodgers appearance.
Speaker 2 (01:51:41):

first round of the Draft. Jay Glazer is gonna be there.
LeVar Arrington from two pros and a cup of Joe.
Jenny Taft is running the program and Joe Douglas all
thirty two picks with live predictions and react. I guess,
live reaction and predictions. That's Thursday, eight o'clock Eastern through
(01:52:56):
the first round of the Draft right here on Fox
Sports Radio and the video simulcast on the Fox Sports
Radio YouTube page, brought to you by ship Station. Let
me go ahead and do my parlay. Let's let's get
planks park. A lot of people look at parlay's as
what profitability.
Speaker 20 (01:53:11):
I like the amount of money I could win, probability based.
Speaker 2 (01:53:15):
On what it shows me, I could possibly want you
decide if you want to buy yourself.
Speaker 1 (01:53:20):
It's the plank parlay.
Speaker 2 (01:53:23):
I want to say that we actually hit last week's,
but we didn't do it last week because Kevin Figures
came in, So counting up is a win because kfig
was on.
Speaker 1 (01:53:31):
Let's go uh.
Speaker 2 (01:53:33):
I went with three NBA games today. Let's see what
was poppies poppies picks earlier he went with the Knicks,
the Lakers, and the Thunder. I'm going with three certain
day games. So you got three Saturday, you got three
games today. Here's what I would play, And you're fine
with the money line on these two, I think, but
(01:53:54):
give me.
Speaker 1 (01:53:54):
The Clippers plus two and a half. Burrie, what's your
hot take this week?
Speaker 3 (01:53:58):
The Clippers are gonna win thisason five.
Speaker 2 (01:54:00):
Clips in five, clips in five, So give me the
Clippers plus two and a half. Today, I think to
playing really well. I'll take the Pistons plus seven and
a half. I don't feel great about it. Don't feel
great about it, but I feel like the Knicks have
kind of been leaking oil down the stretch. These are
the kind of games that the Knicks have won this year. Right,
(01:54:21):
It's not an elite team, so the Knicks have beaten
non elite teams all season long. But I think it's
gonna be tight. So if you don't trust the money line,
I take the points. That's what I would do here
plus seven and a half. And I just have a
really good feeling about the Lakers starting off the playoffs
in the right way. And Luca just seemed to have
the Minnesota Timberwolve's number. So I'll take the Lakers minus four.
(01:54:46):
So the Plank parlay on this Friday night into a
Saturday morning Clips plus two and a half, Pistons plus
seven and a half and the Lakers minus four. And
I don't know know what kind of odds are out there.
You know, most of the most of the bets that
you can make about hey how many games in a
(01:55:06):
series or more exotic, more offshore stuff. But I do
like the idea of clips in five. I like the idea,
like if you were to set an over under in
the in the series between the Calves and the Heat,
I might take like an over five. I think that
could end up being a six game series. I could
see Tyler Hero going off a couple times in Cleveland
(01:55:28):
not having an answer, But I really I like it.
Breeze sold me on it. Clips in five, Let's go,
Let's go there. You uh, that's the plank par like Okay.
With that in mind, here are the best tweets of
the program. Tonight, Charles hit us up and said stop
putting poppy on. In all caps, Charles, stop putting Poppy on.
(01:55:51):
He ruins all your show's momentum and is literally painful
to listen to. He's never on topic, only cares about hisself,
and his picks are trash. See here's the problem I
have And I'll be honest with you. I keep I
write everything down. I'm old school, right. I have this
notepad and I usually try to keep all of our
(01:56:12):
notes from the show. But I'll get mad during the
week because i have too many lingering sheets of paper,
and I'll rip them out and I'll throw them away,
so I'm never able to truly keep track of who's
where and who's what. I write it down, I promise you,
but then I get mad and I throw it away.
So Charles, we will take it under consideration. We'll take
(01:56:33):
it under consideration. Steve, with a throwback to hour one,
I'm betting the house that the transgender gal wins the
main beauty pageant over Bill Belichick's girl. The main governor
is being sued right now for still allowing men to
participate in women's sports. He's being sued by Trump. Oh,
I see what Steve is saying. So in other words,
(01:56:53):
and by the way, I mean, can we not as
this program comes to a conclusion, briand can we not
give a little hat tip to Stephen k C who
brought a topic from out of nowhere today.
Speaker 3 (01:57:06):
He's a pro at that he's a pro.
Speaker 2 (01:57:08):
With thrown It's at curveball. But I like the way
you're thinking. But apparently Bill Belichick's girlfriend, in addition to
being c seed on emails for the North Carolina football team,
is also participating in Miss Maine today. My man Chief
seventy two is the former five star transferred portal entry
(01:57:30):
and now today is this a Nico situation?
Speaker 1 (01:57:33):
For me?
Speaker 2 (01:57:34):
This just feels weird. If the NCA had a committee
to deal with transferred portal NIL and setting regulations and protocols,
it would be incredible. What if it was a three
team committee with Connollezer Eyes, Nick Saban, and Bob Stoops.
Lots of unpack there. First of all, David Stone, fensive
tackle for the Sooners, entered the portal surprisingly last night,
(01:57:59):
and Nico still does not have his deal done with UCLA.
Speaker 1 (01:58:03):
Yeah, I think. I think there's still.
Speaker 2 (01:58:06):
A lot of people that look at the amount of
money that's out there and realize they can make in
some instances more in the portal than where they are
in other instances.
Speaker 6 (01:58:15):
I e.
Speaker 2 (01:58:15):
Nko iam Aliava, that's not the case. But all wait,
hold on, he's doing it for the offense. He's doing
it for the offense. And then Craig. Craig hits it
on the head. Okay, look, it's lying season. Speculations are
running rampant with draft insanity. All these last minute trips
mean nothing until the draft happens Thursday, Tennessee. You're on
(01:58:36):
the clock and Aaron Rodgers can go pound sand Please,
Coach Tomlin, don't bring that ish in the building. I
can say ish on the air, right, That's okay, It's
not a bad word anyway, Thanks Craig, Thanks for all
the text tweets. Tonight at Plank Show. That's at Plank Show,
and we'll be ready to roll next weekend. Hey, one reminder,
