Speaker 1 (00:00):
Please don't listening. No Fox Sports Radio Radio. There you go,
there we go. Welcome in. It's the Blank Show on
Fox Sports Radio. This is a really awesome time of
the I guess you could say calendar because usually and typically,
oh my Coastal Carolina might have just taken the lead.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
They did. We got a live sporting of it on
during the program tonight. Let's go. Usually after the show,
there's something that I have to do, right Uh, there's
a softball game, there's baseball game. There might be I
mean there's always honey dues. I live out in the country,
so I'm always having to do something. But there's nothing tomorrow.
It's like I don't know what to do with myself.

(00:43):
There's diamond sports that are going on, like for instance,
as I just mentioned, as we hit the air tonight,
and I know Jason and Mike we're talking about this NonStop,
so I apologize. But we have super regional college baseball
going on, and there are several games in action, including
one that is live right now in Auburn, Alabama, which

(01:06):
if I'm not mistaken, it's still in the Central time zone,
so it is I mean, if it's an Eastern times
let's eve crazier because we're looking at what two am?
There's still and sometimes I can get fooled, right, Brie.
Sometimes we might be watching a replay of a game.
I'm like, look this, this is live. Though this is live.

(01:26):
H it is seven to six in the top of
the tenth inning between National Championship contender Coastal Carolina and Auburn. Huh,
who's not in on a little super regional baseball in
live games? Sona, Nuh. I don't have anything to do tomorrow.
I mean we could do an extra three hours if

(01:47):
we want. I'm down. Good, good evening, good morning, good afternoon,
good night, wherever you may be in the vast Fox
Sports Radio listening audience. Yes, we're fired up, We're wired up,
and I'm just I'm sorry, man. We got a live Brie,
we got a live game during the show. This doesn't
happen very often, does it, Stoar?

Speaker 3 (02:10):
What channel is that on?

Speaker 4 (02:11):
By chance?

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Uh? ESPN two?

Speaker 4 (02:14):
You got it?

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Okay, I believe go check it out. Yes, by the way,
same a month. I had a double check just to
make sure it was live, because, like I said, you
never know, there could be a replay. That's going on,
But I did just whenever I whenever I tweeted up
all I guess xed up now Auburn baseball. I saw
I saw this from an hour ago from someone named Tom,

(02:38):
Auburn baseball fan that says seventeen beers in. I'm not
f and leaving, so I'm I'm gonna assume that they've been.
They've been battling as far as the weather is concerned
this evening. Can this turn you into a you know
who hates college sports more than anything? And anyone is

(02:58):
the number once porter of the program, Shady seawan Ford twenty,
who I can only assume is birthday is April twentieth.
If I start talking college baseball, college sports are women's sports,
he's pretty much out. So I'm probably in big trouble
right now. But come on, man, we got a live
game during the show tonight. This doesn't happen. Steve de
Sager and I many many moons ago, Breebe. I don't

(03:21):
know if you know this or we've talked about this.
And I think Jetfield George actually called a few weeks ago,
right if I remember correctly?

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Think so, yeah he did.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
And I did this show when I never remember years,
but like when Tim Tebow is at Florida, So what
are we talking about there? Like oh seven, but the
Sager and I think it was Mike Dunsmore and Julio
was with us, and we literally had a college baseball

(03:50):
game that was on during the whole show. No, it
was Burgie. It was Greg Bergman when he did the
overnight program. We were here until like four in the morning,
laughing about the inn two a central to our Pacific time,
laughing about the fact that we had a college baseball
game that was on. I think it's the longest college
baseball game ever. I were just sitting there watch college
baseball throughout the night. Welcome, Welcome to the New Age.

(04:12):
We got a game. Oh my gosh. All right, anyway,
excitement aside. I know you all are on the edge
of your seat. Will keep you up to date on
this this evening. How is your week? Bre Everything good?

Speaker 3 (04:21):
All dandy over here?

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Mark, All good with you.

Speaker 5 (04:25):
This week was a thunderstorm in my neighborhood, so it
was just great in Midwest.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
You know, it's you know what's going on right now?
Bring you know what's going on right now? Mark? Currently
I'm in a tornado.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Watch Are you serious?

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Yeah, I'm fine. It's not near me. It's one of
those weird things near me. Isn't that crazy? I sit here,
I'm in the Bible Belt, I'm in God's country and
it's June and all it's done for the last three
days is rain. I'm not even kidding. It's June and seventh.
Usually it's five hundred degrees outside and literally just rain

(05:00):
like crazy.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
Somehow you're in part Bermuda Triangle. Yeah, Oklahoma, I don't
know what's going on.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Man. In fact, right before I came on the air
was the moment where the met weather men and women
on our local stations signed off and said, Okay, we're good,
but we'll be back in a couple of hours because
there's another wave that's rolling through. So for all the
truckers out there, if you're rolling through Oklahoma, I guess
that would be western Arkansas, be safe, be smart. You

(05:30):
got some storms coming up, but thankfully nothing has been
torn atic, at least in what's rolled through here. Ladies
and gentlemen, we have the sad end, do we not?
To One of the great stories that has permeated throughout
the very short history of this radio program, and unfortunately
kind of it kind of landed with the dud. According

(05:53):
to Sean, this is the sixteenth episode of The Plank
Show Overnight on Fox Sports Radio and Brie, is it
fair to say through fifteen of those sixteen episodes, including
tonight now, sixteen and sixteen, there's been a lot of conversation,
Thank you, thank you. It's quite a run. Radio you
times out by seven, right, so if you think about radio,

(06:17):
you take sixteen like dog years, and we're like on show,
what like eighty yeah, something like that. So with that
in mind, the Aaron Rodgers saga has been the biggest,
I think, talking point of this program. And what's frustrating,
I think for me, more than anything else, is just

(06:38):
how underwhelming the announcement was. And I don't know what
I was expecting. I don't know if I was expecting
fireworks or something more than like an ESPN report. I
don't know. That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
I'm very breaking news, like we all knew it now,
this is true.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
This knew it.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
So I'm not sure what you were imagining.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Let me try to explain. Okay, and this is not
going to make any sense at all, but I'm gonna
do my very best. I'm very much in on the
NBA right now because the thunder are trying to do
everything they can to blow this finals. But this story
broke like an hour before Game one of the Finals,

(07:30):
and for me, it being dare I say the lifeblood
of this program from day what's gonna happen with Aaron Rodgers?
Is he going to play? Why is he going on
programs and talking anything but where he's gonna play? This
is a major deal. Then we have the Saints that
kind of popped up for a while. Then there was
the thought that maybe he's waiting out to buy games.

(07:51):
All these what I felt were very cool storylines, and
then the way that it breaks Brey is ESPN has
learned that Aaron Rodgers is going to sign with the Steelers.
You're like, huh, that's it And we still don't even
know what he's gonna make do we? Have you seen
a number out there at all?

Speaker 4 (08:10):
No? Did you expect like Pat McAfee to be like
the Kool Aid Man and jump through the screen and
be like, oh my gosh, thank you're onto something. Let's
go live to Malibu where Aaron Rodgers is standing on
a beach holding the Steelers like.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
With his with his corded air AirPods, right.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
And then some kind of Steelers blanky with like this
jersey hanging up in the air, being like I picked
the team, Like oh, instead of like college where they
picked the hats, he's just holding a jersey being like
I finally made a decision.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Yeah, I don't know, I don't know what I wanted,
but I was just it was it was a mixture
of disappointment and being sowhat underwhelmed. I have no I
have no defense for this. I'm just telling you, guys,
I'm coming to you to say I don't know why.
I was just so so underwhelmed with the moment. And
then it was even when he decided to push for

(09:06):
the trade right the right on the cusp of the draft.
What was that three years ago? Like that was dramatic.
It's like Adam Schefter comes on TV like literally an
hour before the draft, Espon has learned that Aaron Rodgers
is unhappy in Green Bay and he's asking for a trade, Like,
oh my gosh, Aaron Rodgers, what's out of Green Bay?

(09:29):
I guess maybe in this instance, though, bree people smarter
than me and that have been through this, maybe they
look at it and say, wow, I mean, it's it's
it's Aaron Rodgers. We've done this for like four years
in a row in the off season. Why would you
expect anything to surprise you or to kind of get
you fired up. It's just it seemed for all the
time that we invested in it, maybe it just seemed

(09:52):
very underwhelming and how it came out. That's it. That's all.
For the for this program and the amount of time
we've spent on it, it was very well. That's it.
That's that's how this thing is going to end, all right.
I mean, does he show up to OTA's tomorrow? Is
he going to be a part of the mandatory mini
camp that starts next week? I would assume he is.

(10:13):
I would expect him to be.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
Well, why else do they make the announcement like yesterday
if he's not going to be there next week?

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Yeah, because he's going to be there.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
If you are. If you're someone like me who over
analyzes everything, not just in sports people, you got to
see me in my personal life who over analyzes everything,
then you realize that Aaron Rodgers did everything he could
to avoid OTA off season workouts, which, by the way,

(10:45):
this was announced what was that yesterday? Right? Uh? Yeah,
Thursday night, Thursday. It's now Saturday in essentral time zone.
So this was announced on Thursday night and that was
the official last day of the OTA off season workouts
for the Steelers. He's like, OTA's are over. Hey, guys,

(11:06):
good news. I'm a Pittsburgh Steeler, glad to be part
of the family. The mandatory mini camp for Pittsburgh is
coming up on June tenth, so maybe that's gonna be
the moment where we see Aaron Rodgers in a Steelers
jersey for the first time. And by the way, listen,
New York Post, I thought I thought the sports cover

(11:27):
was hilarious, but can can we get like good graphic
design people to photoshop these things? Did you see the picture?

Speaker 6 (11:35):
No?

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Okay? Oh no, yeah, that's real. That was the back
page of the New York Post today. It's like, I
understand where in this world where everyone's got a photoshop
a jersey on a player as soon as they get
traded and and listen, I don't know how to put this,
but you all are pretty awful at I mean it's
it's really really bad. That might take the cake for
the absolute worst, the worst. That's as Tigus newspaper. And

(12:01):
that's what we have with Aaron Rodgers and a Steelers
jersey and a bunch of has around it. I mean,
come on, anyway, New York no longer a problem, all right?
I guess you would say Aaron Rodgers no longer the
Jets problem. Now he's a Steeler. So now that it
is officialized here on a Saturday morning, Friday night and

(12:22):
to is Saturday morning on the West Coast, I'm curious
Steeler fans, what's what's the vibe, what's the buzz? How
we feel? And this is a this is an open
form for your reaction. I know we've speculated now for
what do we say, sixteen shows here on Fox Sports Radio.
I know we've talked about it a lot. You might
even say, if you're a non Aaron Rodgers guy's like plank,
we get it. No one really has a feel right now.

(12:43):
I mean, I a here Jason projecting the doom of
Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. I don't know if I
feel that way. I actually think the Steelers have some weapons.
I mean you don't. You don't go out and get
one of the top receivers in the NFL and then say, oh,
they've got no weapons. I think he's got some dudes.
And I think I think Pittsburgh is now one of

(13:06):
those teams that you look at and you say, they
might have two of the best defensive players in the league,
and you add to a pretty good young core around them.
They're the Steelers. They're always in a win now mode.
It's a tough division, but I'm just I'm very much
intrigued to see how this is going to play out.

(13:26):
And I think more than anything else, it puts them
in a position to where, all right, I'm gonna cringe
when I say this, but I think they're in a
better quarterback position in twenty five than they were in
twenty four. And now all of a sudden, every Jets
fan is drunk on Justin Fields. I mean, did you

(13:46):
were you paying attention with Justin Fields got beat up
by Russell Wilson last year? Did you watch Justin Field
with the Bears? I mean, I understand everyone says Aaron
Rodgers has washed, but it wasn't really too terribly bad
down the stretch. Times last year. So again, I'm a
believer that this helps the Steelers and I'm a believer
that it makes him better. But I'm also I don't, Brie.

(14:10):
I'm not ready to die on that hill right now.
I mean, I'm not ready to sit here and plant
my flag and say this this is not going to work.
It will I don't know. I want to see how
it plays out. I want to see how it works out.
Where are you on on this right now?

Speaker 4 (14:25):
Do you think they're in a better position quarterback wise
than like the Browns, I mean instead of as Okay, Okay,
so that's a good sign.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're you're ahead of the Browns. You're
behind the other two teams in the division. But you
put most teams outside of Buffalo and Kansas City, they
would be behind Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow in that division.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
Okay, So if he stays healthy, right, but you have
Mason Rudolph behind you.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
So he starts off the season.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
Let's say the Steelers go come out swinging and they're
in they're four and oh or whatever, and then something happens,
he pulls something or whatever, and then they lose the
next six games. It's kind of like, oh, okay, now
all the airs out of the balloon. It's like, sure,
this is what you know.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
This was all the hoopla it was about.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
So in other words, the theory being posed by Bree
Denise is was it all worth it? If you get
off to your hot start, you beat the Jets in
New York, you knock off the Seahawks. Let's say you
take out this suddenly resurgent Patriots team and the Vikings,
but coming out of the by in week six, you

(15:30):
get hurt against the Browns.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
Yes, and then you're out maybe on to tell maybe
he's out like two three weeks. Then he comes back
and plays the Packers, right I think that's week eight, right, yes,
and then it's like okay, then he wins that game
and then he's out the next two games because god
knows why. I don't know. I think this It was great.
This was good talking points. Now I see this now
being in this industry. This was great content. This is

(15:53):
caught for now. But I think when the season starts,
I don't I don't think it's going to measure up
to what everything all this hoopla and what we've been
talking about and waiting for it's not gonna you know,
it's not going to outweigh all the you know what
I'm trying to say.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
No, I get what you're saying.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
Yeah, my dad.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Oh, by the way, our baseball game is now over.
Stupid baseballs Carolina? What up?

Speaker 7 (16:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:17):
Twenty one combined hits three airs Coastal Carolina takes game
one of the best of three, beating Auburn seven to
six in an eleven inning game. And this game was
supposed this game was supposed to start at seven A
at seven am, seven pm. Whoa, So what are we
looking at? Like six hours of baseball tonight?

Speaker 3 (16:37):
Was therein the lakes?

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Oh yeah, yeah? Two? Well six hours that people have
been at the park seventeen beers seven seventeen beers. I
ain't e f and going anywhere. That's my guy. So
basically what you're saying, my dad used to have a saying,
don't let your mickey mouse backside right, don't let your
alligator mouth overload your mickey mouse ass that that was

(17:00):
my dad's big saying all the time. In this instance,
the amount of talk around it, that alligate, all all
of the Aaron Rodgers content that we've had, not just
on this show, but across Fox Sports Radio, across every
medium that there is. Is it going to look back
like Wow, I just kind of like you're one with
the Jets right all this talk and that's what happened

(17:21):
on like the third play of the game.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Maybe, so literally, that's what I think. I don't think
it's going to be as drastic as that, but who knows.
I mean it could be like he could be just
walking out to the field and then just hurt something.
Who knows.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
I don't think it affected the win lost total at all.
And in fact, we talked to Todd Furman every single
Sunday night you're on Fox Sports Radio, and when we
talked to Todd, you know, that's always one of my questions, Hey,
this move just happened. Did it affect win, lost totals?
Or did it affect anything? In your mind? And nine
out of ten times, I'm kind of shocked. Whenever it's

(17:53):
like now, I didn't, And I guess they had already
kind of factored in that they felt like Aaron Rodgers
was going to be a Steeler, so that was already
that was already kind of in play when it came
to over under numbers in early season spreads.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
I think the schedule was announced with him just in Oh.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Absolutely, absolutely, Okay, that's twenty minutes on Aaron Rodgers. That's
probably enough. We got NBA Finals, we had an awesome
Stanley Cup Finals game today. We had weirdness in Major
League Baseball. And honestly, I don't believe that news dumps
still exist because of where we are with technology and
social media. But holy smokes, the college sports world really

(18:30):
tried to drop one doozy of a news dump on us.
We'll dive into it all with your calls at eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety

Plank eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine ninety six six three six night Again the
Golden Goose for the program. The Aaron Rodgers deal a
one year, one year deal with the Steelers. Now we'll

(19:40):
wait and see what the money looks like. Just a
couple of like bullet points on this eighty days since
the start a free agency and seventy days after Aaron
Rodgers actually visited the Steelers, Adam Schefter reported that Rogers
plans to fly to Pittsburgh on Friday, and we'll join
them ahead of this week's Next week's I guess I

(20:03):
should say pending mandator are pending upcoming mandatory mini camp,
And I guess the Steelers never ever wavered in their
idea that Aaron Rodgers would eventually sign with them, And
here you go, they didn't draft the guy. They stayed with.
Mason Rudolph maybe had the worst quarterback room in the league.
Even after drafting from what is a National champion quarterback

(20:28):
and Will Howard? But I don't I don't know if
he's an NFL guy. I mean, Will Howard was a
guy that after twenty twenty we were saying, maybe the
dude should move positions. Go look at his numbers pre
the National Championship run. It wasn't all that spicy. But again,
he's in Pittsburgh right now and he might end up
being the number two guy by the end of the season.

(20:48):
And I don't know if that's a product of how
good he is or how pathetic that room might be
around Aaron Rodgers. But here we go. Meanwhile, let's go
ahead and let's just address it here right now. I
know you like to use like choke, implosion, things of
that nature to describe certain performances and sports. It's kind
of where I've had a tough time over the last

(21:10):
twenty four hours.

Speaker 8 (21:12):
Was that?

Speaker 2 (21:13):
I mean, was that a choke by the thunder or
did Indiana go and take it from them? So so
many things, so many things happened for Indiana that should
have led to them not being in the game. I mean,
all I've heard about the Pacers heading into this series
is how Oklahoma City is not going to be able

(21:33):
to turn them over. The Pacers take good care of
the basketball, YadA, YadA, YadA. And Oklahoma City for its
twenty four turnovers last night, two nights ago now Thursday
night twenty four, they are those twenty four turnovers, fourteen steals,
and they weren't able to turn them into points. I
think everybody knows from kind of just following the Pacers,

(21:57):
you can't really knock them out. I mean, Oklahoma City
had what appeared to be a pretty substantial lead a
majority of the game, and then all of a sudden
in the fourth quarter, they started making shots. The moment
for me where I thought it was over for the
Indiana Pacers was with nine to go in the game. Now,

(22:20):
I know that's that's an eternity when you think about
who the Pacers are, what they've been through, and what
and what they've done in these playoffs to go in
the game. Brie TJ McConnell, whom I like, but looks
like someone's kid was given a uniform and is going
out and playing for the Pacers. It's like, Hey, whose
kid is on the court right now? And I love them,

(22:42):
but McConnell throws a terrible inbounds pass. Jalen Williams picks
it off and takes it a link to the court
for a dunk. And at that point, I'm thinking to myself,
this thing is over. And the next thing I know,
I blink and it's a four point game. Like I don't,

(23:05):
I don't know how you go from having all the
energy in the arena like that, And even I mean
Rick carl who Rick Carlile talking about talking about that
arena was pretty awesome. Hey, listen to this from last
Thursday night, Rick Carlile talking about the arena and the
Jews and the energy in it. Because I kind of, honestly,

(23:28):
I kind of thought that there was no way and
I mean, oh sorry, and I mean no way that
Oklahoma City would blow that lead. Wait for it, I
promise here it is.

Speaker 9 (23:38):
Hey, look, this this arena is is madness. I mean,
this is you know, this is I don't know, from
a road perspective, I this was. The decibels were insane,
and so you know, it's there's a lot going on,
you know, grateful to have the chance to hang in

(23:58):
and give ourselves a chance at the end. But now
we've got to, you know, keep our eye on the ball.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Yeah. So my question to you, Brie, and my question
to my not Aaron Rodgers talking peeps at eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. Did the thunder? I don't
think you give up a series in Game one? I don't.
And Indiana has shown a propensity to maybe get a
little bit lax whenever they're at home versus when they're

(24:26):
on the road. You know, they tend to let teams
back in a bit like they did in New York
Number one? Was that a case of the thunder choking?
Are the Pacers taking it? At number two? Should that
panic meter be a little bit higher for OKC than
some fans might have it right now?

Speaker 4 (24:43):
I think the Pacers took it.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
I do too, for sure.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
I don't think the thunder choked. I think they took
their foot off the gas just a little bit, like
you know, like all all season long, it's like they
were choking. Everybody had their foot over their throat, right
and just like just choked. And I bet I like
we're choking other teams. Obviously they just killing them all
season long. But I think in this instance they kind

(25:07):
of just like, hey, we got this like, Okay, what
good And then they just took their foot off the
pedal and the pacers saw the opportunity and they just
went for it. And we were just talking about Miles
Turner off the air. They don't have an answer for him,
and I'm looking at the fourth quarter and like right
before the Haliburton show, it was like Miles Turner, it
was nemhard, it was obi Toppin' and they were just

(25:27):
going on all over over Aaron E. Smith. I mean,
like they're just so deep. The pacers are so deep too,
that they just come up and they could just take
advantage of whatever the thunder are, uh, you know, just
kind of sick their foot off the gas. I think
is the best way I could say it is.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
It isn't a case. Here's what I've been kind of
going back and forth with and listen, like I brought
this up to start the show last week. I can't
fight with you over TV numbers. I know I'm not
gonna win, Okay, I can't fight with you over ratings.
I don't think TV ratings are indicative of how much
of a I don't want to say passion or a
following that there is for the finals. I think I

(26:08):
don't suddenly see people tweeting about something other than the
NBA Finals. During the NBA Finals, they're still talking about
Indiana and Okac and I say, xing whatever, still tweeting
in my mind, But I don't. And we'll talk with
the TV numbers that came out, which again it was
still the most watched thing on TV, but it was

(26:28):
one of the lower rated NBA Finals in quite a while,
including significantly lower from last year. But I guess more
than anything else, Okase has had things pretty easy this year,
and in fairness, pretty easy through the playoffs. Now, they
got pushed to seven by the Denver Nuggets, But I

(26:49):
mean the Nuggets, in all fairness were a beat and
banged up crew and breed. That's one that you have
over me, because remember I was like, man, I don't
want anything to do with the Clippers. He hat Denver
in there, you're gonna beat him in four. You got
the mess with their coach, and sure enough they ended
up pushing them to seven and took care of business
in a couple of those games. Right. But Aaron Gordon

(27:09):
was hurt. He was playing on a gympie leg a
couple other guys were deemed up. Joe Gis, you had
to play every single second. I mean, what was it?
There was the fourth quarter where they never substituted anyone out,
you know, and Alfred de Newman, their head coach, was
trying to explain it and made no sense. So I
you know that the Nuggets pushed him the tea will
speed him once and wanted to throw a damn victory parade,

(27:32):
right and that was it And okay, so he kind
of owned that series. So maybe there was that moment
where hey, you got to remember teams can come in
here and get you, and Indiana, you start thinking about
those serfs like teams of destiny and things that nature.
You don't have things happened like that and not end
it without something special. I mean, go back to the

(27:54):
finish in Game one against the Knicks. Go back to
the way that they continue to come back. He's what
like one in one Like the three times teams have
come back from being down fifteen late have all been
the Pacers in this postseason. They set a record. And
I guess maybe to answer my question that I threw
out there, the reason I'm not panicking too terribly much

(28:17):
is because it was the worst turnover differential in a
playoff victory since the Grizzlies in twenty twelve were minus
fifteen in a first round game against the Clippers. Their
turnover differential of minus nineteen is the worst for a

(28:41):
team in an NBA Finals victory, and it clears the
second worst team, the nineteen seventy four Bucks in the Finals,
by seven turnovers seven and they still won the game. Unbelievable.
Oh and here's whatn Ever, when the Pacers have faced

(29:01):
deficits of at least fifteen points this off of this postseason,
their record is five and three. It's unbelievable. And again,
this was fifteen with nine minutes to go, so it's
not like fifteen points with a minute thirty to go
like it was against the Knicks. They had some time,
but Uncle Moe was sitting on the bench for the
thunder and Jalen Williams just had that big dunk. I

(29:24):
I'm not paying. My panic level is low because I think, Okay,
see learns lessons from this, and I think you'll see adjustments.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
So went through ten, Are you at like a five?

Speaker 2 (29:33):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, that's a good way to put I
bet a five. You don't have home court advantage anymore.
You don't have I mean, honestly, you start worrying what
if the I mean, there's this part of me that
that five can ratchet up to a six if the
thunder don't get an early lead on Sunday. I think
you got to knock this Pacers team out early. That's

(29:56):
the only way you're gonna beat them.

Speaker 4 (29:57):
How do you knock them out when they when they
seem to succeed late.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
You've gotta go find yourself a Tanya Harding. You gotta
get Halliburton.

Speaker 8 (30:11):
No.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
I you know, here's the thing I've pushed back so
much against the people that are like you gotta have depth.
You gotta have a depth is depth at damn man?
Pacers have depth and then how to use it. It's
it's wild to see and it's fun. I hated that
it's happened in to Okay, see right in front of
my fat face. But here we are a couple of
other notes here real quick, we'll grab a break and

(30:34):
we'll get your calls the rest of the way. I
see there, Poppy, I see you. They're hanging there. Gotta
line upen for you. At eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six six three
sixty nine. Tyrese Haliburton is now tied for second with
Reggie Miller with five field goals to tie or take
the lead inside the final five seconds of a playoff game. Now,

(30:57):
I don't know who keeps that stat, but that's pretty
freaking on believable. During the regular season. In the playoffs,
Haliburton is thirteen of fifteen on shots inside the final
two minutes to tire tanking the lead, and that gives
him a shooting percentage of eighty seven percent on such tries.
By the way, these numbers courtesy of USA Today. And

(31:18):
let's see who am I going to make sure I
give credit to here, Lorenzo Reyes really solid research on this,
because I sure as all I'm gonna sit down and
try to look this all up. Since nineteen seventy one,
teams that trailed by at least nine points inside the
final three minutes of NBA Finals games had been oh
for one eighty two Brie oh for one eighty two.

(31:41):
After Game one, that number is now one and one
eighty two. Wow, I know right, Oh my god, I
mean Tyre's Halliburton now unbelievable. He's hid a game winning
or game tying shot in the final segments seconds of
each of Indiana's four post season series this year. That's unreal.

(32:05):
And the turnover margin is just jaw dropping. The fifteen
point fourth quarter comeback is tied for the fourth largest
in an NBA finals since nineteen seventy one. The last
two fourth quarter comebacks of at least fifteen points in
NBA Final games have been by teams that were coached
by Rick Carlile Thursday Night's Pacers win and Thursday June second,

(32:28):
twenty eleven, when Rick Carlyle's Mavericks toppled the heat baller.
Someone fine, chat Holmgren. He went missing on Thursday Night.
See if Isaiah Heardnstein can do anything for him, because
I get Haliburton's amazing the ability to hit threes in
the fourth quarter, But for OKC Miles Turner is a problem.
All Right, your calls coming up next. We've got all

(32:50):
the topics laid out there. It's plank shot with Brion Mark.
We're rolling through the night all night right here on
Fox Sports Radio. All Right, it is the plank share.
What the Plank Show with the Brianna Mureau and Mark Ramsey.
I'm Chris Plank. We are comping to you live from
the Fox Sports Radio studios. We've laid out all the topics.
Aaron Rodgers is a member of the Steelers Oklahoma City

(33:11):
shocked in Game one. If you're looking at it as
an NBA fan, did you see it more as a
choke from the thunder or you give the Pacers the
credit here? Hey, that wasn't about Okay see choking it?
That was boy, that's a terrible lot of context. That's
about the Pacers going and taking it. And then with
the Aaron Rodgers saga, is it now something where you

(33:32):
view the Steelers as a little bit more of a problem.
It's the least shocking story, right, that Aaron Rodgers is
a stealer. Well, let's get your takes on it throughout
the night eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. We'll
start in Olympia, Washington, War Washington. Emmett is first up.
What's going on? Emmitt? How are you?

Speaker 10 (33:49):
I'm doing good?

Speaker 11 (33:50):
Chris Flank, how are you doing? My guy?

Speaker 2 (33:51):
I've I don't know if I've ever been more arrested
before this program. So it's it's a really good night, man,
It's a really good night.

Speaker 10 (33:59):
You know.

Speaker 11 (33:59):
It's an energy during type of night, not a beer night.
So I mean, hey, you said that you have nothing
to do after the show. That's when you catch up
on the sleep even more. And then you come in
and school Arnie on Sunday. So it's a win win.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Well, here's the problem I and you know this, Emmett.
I am not going to win any fight with Arnie
because the TV ratings kind of stink for the finals
and there's a really good chance at okay se could
be down two games to none come Sunday night. So
I uh, I'll have to wait to see how the
thunder play before I can claim any victories over him.

Speaker 11 (34:28):
Who knows what he's gonna have to say about Aaron
Rodgers too, He's going to spin that some sort of way.
But you know, I could talk about either or Aaron
Rodgers or the NBA Finals and what would you rather
me talk about?

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Chris, Let's talk about Aaron Rodgers here since we started there,
I'd love to get your take on.

Speaker 11 (34:41):
It, all right, So I think that this is just
one of those things. And I literally said this on
Monday Night on my own show, it's like, oh, if
the Steelers, like you need to make a deadline because
it's getting ridiculous, like if you don't hear anything about
July first or moving on, because you're just costing a
time at this point two days. That's why I say
that he signed with the Steelers. I think that, you know,
it's not hard to upgrade over what you had now,

(35:02):
and you kind of said that, you know, Mason Rudolph
kind of terrible. I think I do a better job
at quarterback than Mason Rudolph and Will Howard's very unproven.
I mean a lot of people don't really buy them
because of that playoff run, like you were saying. So
I think that this is an upgrade, and I think
the Steelers being the Steelers, Yes they have holes on
their O line, Yes, who's their second receivers, Robert Wood's
going to be able to do it like at a

(35:22):
high level. Who knows, like they have their issues. But
the thing with the Steelers that's going to make them
a ten and seven team and get bounced in the
first round like we always see is Aaron Rodgers. I mean,
if the hell of an upgrade over Mason Rudolph. I
am a little bit scared to see how he kind
of plays with that offensive line, because Russell Wilson, who
I'd say is a little bit more mobile at this
point in time than Aaron Rodgers, had a hell of

(35:44):
a time with it. So I think if you're the
Pittsburgh Steelers, they were talking about that they want to
add another offensive weapon. I think at this point in time,
I'm looking at it for how can we get dek
involved or how can we get Pat fire Moose involved.
More time for Aaron Rodgers, I'm going to try and
sneak in a trade here for like an offensive lineman.
You know, beat that up a little bit. And you
know there's still Amari Cooper who's a free agent, so

(36:05):
he could sign him up and not have to give
up any assets and save that for the line. I
think that would be the smartest move for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
But at this point, Chris, they're just the same old Steelers.
They're gonna do what they always do, you know, win
nine or ten games and then get bounced in the playoffs,
first round of the Raisins or something stupid.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Yeah, where are you on the finals? Pacers went and
took it or Thunder choked it away.

Speaker 11 (36:27):
I think Bree said it one hundred percent perfectly because
I was thinking about the same thing earlier and she
was saying that, you know, the Thunder just kind of
took a step down in their play in the last
like five minutes especially. I really noticed it because it
looked like a completely different team. The Thunder seemed like
they had this in the bag, and I think they
kind of overestimated too soon. They pulled an rny by,
you know, ov Er, and I think, like it's a

(36:48):
whole bit like that. Forty three minutes before they started
to get that run in the Pacers like made it
a four point game. It was a completely different game.
I remember second quarter there was like two minutes of
lou Dort just getting steal after Steel's career. So I
think the Thunder they just they choked a little bit
the off. The guy gave a lot of credit to
the Pacers because they've done this multiple times in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
I agreed, buddy, all right, thanks man, appreciate it.

Speaker 12 (37:10):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
I don't know if I've ever seen a game. Well,
let me step back before I say this. The Nuggets
did this to the Thunder in Game one of that
series when Aaron Gordon hit the game winner. The Pacers
did this to the Knicks in Game one of the
Eastern Conference Finals. Right. The Pacers did this to the

(37:35):
Bucks a couple times. It's just they've they've done this
to teams in the playoffs. With all that said, I
don't know if I've felt a momentum shift quite like
I felt going from where Jalen Williams dunk had that
arena right, and finally they say, oh my gosh, finally

(37:55):
you cashed in on one of these mistakes. There's still
nine minutes to go and it's a fifteen point lead.
Feel good man, arena's rocking, Alex Caruso's ding up. They
don't have any answers. And then the Pacers started hitting shots.
So I don't I don't think I can look at

(38:16):
it and say, Oklahoma City choked. I mean, some of
the shots that the Pacers made were amazing, So tip
of a cap. Do do we really have an issue
with fatigue? I mean, it is the world so jaded
towards big markets, free are towards small markets, that everyone's

(38:36):
really looking down their nose at the fact that the
Pacers and the thunder are playing. Is this really a
thing that's happening in sports right now? It is, isn't it?

Speaker 4 (38:43):
Which is so dumb you can't watch these I just
think they're also just using it as a talking point,
like see see they just like, look at the ratings,
this is why the small markets are ah.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
By the way, the ratings were pretty bad. We'll get
into that. I mean, I'll just be honest. I feel like,
if I'm gonna sit there and tell you guys you
need to watch, I've got aware of the fact that
not a lot of you are. Though. The NBA has
a pretty wild way of skewing this thing. I gotta
give them credit. They're they're good at making it seem

(39:14):
like it's a lot better than it actually is. By
the way, nature BOYE, I appreciate the shot of a
cow flying through the air as the current view outside
my window. Good news is we're not necessarily in a
tornado watch now, but we uh, we definitely are on
the cusp of it. So fingers crossed, fingers crossed. I

(39:36):
see Poppy has promoted his appearance on X We'll get
the official pick with Poppy coming up next. Plus what
is this settlement with college sports mean? Tonight we'll talk
about a.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
Next You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
Do you ever think that we'd be going through storm
precautionsbury whenever you signed up for this overnight show.

Speaker 4 (39:58):
I did not expect that. But it's super exciting because
I feel like it's like the weather channel at work.
I get to hear about all the different weather happening
in you know, middle of America.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
I am. I broadcast live now throughout the summer every
Friday night in Oklahoma. I live in a small town
just south of Norman. I my neighbor always tells me,
as the crow flies, we're five minutes away from the
football stadium. So I live in a town called Goldsby
or Washington, Oklahoma, and it's technically just outside of Norman.

(40:33):
So last night, as i'm kind of you know, I'm
starting to do a morning show on my local station.
So I'm working on my schedule and my sleep patterns
and trying to make sure I maximize my rest because
I'm also getting old. So last night, yeah, I get
by four thirty in the morning, Bree, I get this
alert on my phone and usually it's the Amber alert.

(40:53):
Sound right, you guys get those in California where they
hit your ding your iPhone? Yes, okay, this was that
there is a tornado warning. Now, the difference between a
watch and a warning, for those that are uneducated on
such things. A watch is that conditions are conducive to
a potential twister. A warning, get to your Heidi hole

(41:15):
because you're on the ground and it's coming for you.
And so it's a tornado warning. And I turn on
the TV immediately, and I noticed that the storm chaser,
because on our local channels you'll have the people that
are out chasing the storms and they're communicating with the
weather guys, is right down the street from my house.

(41:35):
So it's four point thirty in the morning. Kids are asleep,
stunnering like crazy, and the storm chaser is right down
from my house. And I'm thinking to myself, is this
a moment where I need to get everyone up and
say let's go to our spot or do I do
what most Oklahomas do and go walk outside and look

(41:56):
around a little bit and say we're good. I did
the latter in a worked out Okay, now we're preparing tonight.
If something happens because it's see what time is it locally?
Two oh three am Central Time? And the weather guys
and gals are live on TV because there's issues all

(42:16):
across where I live, all around where I live, So
fingers crossed. Listen. If you're a trucker, I brought this
up an hour one. But if you're traveling through Oklahoma
throughout the night into Western and so I guess that
would be what north western Arkansas. A lot of storms,
a lot of rain, a lot of flooding. So just
please be safe and we'll do our best to keep

(42:37):
you entertained as we roll through a Saturday morning here
on Fox Sports. Ready, what do you say? We just
rolled through some calls here, Brie, You good with that?
Let's go Poppy eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven seven nine ninety six six three sixt' nine.
Got a couple open lines, Poppy, what's going on? Buddy?

Speaker 8 (42:54):
Hey, what's going on?

Speaker 6 (42:56):
What the helly helly?

Speaker 8 (42:59):
What the helly helly?

Speaker 12 (43:00):
Bertrand what the hell?

Speaker 8 (43:01):
League? Lebron James, Wow, you know that was a great game.
You know the first game of the NBA Finals against SGA.
You know, the MVP he's still a great, you know, athlete,
and he deserves to be the NBC. I think the people,
the whole world right now. Also, you guys, the inside scoop,
everyone is going, yeah, face is that.

Speaker 12 (43:22):
I got some good news for you.

Speaker 10 (43:23):
Chris, You're gonna love this.

Speaker 8 (43:26):
Oklahoma fans, you guys better be happy because this's gonna
happen on Sunday. You're gonna have Scott Foster, the best
NBA rest gonna be there and he's gonna help you
guys win Oklahoma Sun. So minus eleven is a spread
that's no problems even Yeah, it's he's currently's eleven and

(43:46):
I'm loving that, like you know how, Yeah, that's a
lot of pointing. You might think wow, like a lot
of people are might think it, But it's great news
for for us. Scott Foster is gonna be be there.
I'm predicting he's gonna be there. And now there's no
way that Adam Silver is gonna let this happen. Where
the thunder going to be down to, Oh, that's not

(44:07):
gonna happen.

Speaker 10 (44:07):
That's not good basketball.

Speaker 8 (44:08):
And Adam Silver, which I'm quoting it says the best
basketball is in the NBA finals. So you know what
that means, we're gonna have the best rat and that's
wha The scoff batchet is going to be there. You
guys a little bit worried, and they're like, hey, minus
eleven is a lot.

Speaker 12 (44:24):
Of points for you cut that in half, right, and.

Speaker 8 (44:27):
You could do the the spread and do five and
a half. They should win by six points.

Speaker 10 (44:33):
You know, the Thunder covered.

Speaker 8 (44:35):
Easily in the first half and right, and I just
feel it was just part of the script what happened.
They went down, So I know what you could do, Chris,
tell her what your over there to help Oklahoma. I
need to see more energy the whole game, you know,
the whole game, because I feel the fans I watched
the game, they kind of lost it a little bit,
you know, like you know, as they say, it's not

(44:56):
over till the Fat Lady sing, you know, so they
kind of lost that energy. Gee, So hopefully all your
Oklahoma fans and are listening, please bring that energy. I
would love to attend that game, So.

Speaker 6 (45:06):
Bring that energy and show the thunder sg ain't all
that energy.

Speaker 8 (45:11):
So minus at the place we're gonna take eleven with
Scott Bosser. It's gonna be the revenge game, the revenge game.

Speaker 10 (45:18):
And I'm loving this revenge game.

Speaker 12 (45:20):
And another revenge pick for you.

Speaker 6 (45:22):
Real quick, Chris.

Speaker 8 (45:23):
There's a UFC fight tomorrow's big pay per view fight. Yeah,
and we've got Shine o'miley who lost against Mabra Davacheks
and he's a champion and right now, currently depends where
you see the line, it might be at two sixty.

Speaker 6 (45:36):
Right now, I'm seeing.

Speaker 8 (45:37):
Plus two seventy for Shane o'manley. I think he's gonna
come back.

Speaker 10 (45:40):
He's great.

Speaker 8 (45:41):
He's gonna have to do a different game plan. He's
a revenge He's gonna come aggressive how he normally does.
He's gonna come out singing and he has to knock
him out. So he did that way, he's gonna have
to knock him out. And the good thing about it,
I've been seeing on the Shining Tap and everything. He
sober like, meaning he's not cooking that sticky ychy or
that whatever you know, that ud stuff. So I'm really

(46:01):
loving Shin o Miley The Revenge plus two seven And
for Sunday, guys, take Foklahoma Thunder minus.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
Eleven guard Hi Buddy, Thanks Poppy, appreciate it. So Poppy
is on Sean O'Malley and he is also on the Thunder.
I'm down with that too. So when did Sean O'Malley
get sober? And I always have a hard time. This
is something that's a little bit hard for me. Is

(46:30):
I kind of view the Mary Jane a little bit
differently than most and like that he's finally off the weed.
I mean, how much weed are you smoking? I mean, goodness, sakes, man,
It's it's a great in some people's eyes, recovery tool.
But are you smoking so much where it's how could
you smoke that much? Is still train? It makes no
sense to me, dude, But I like, I'm a big fan.

(46:54):
I'm trying, Brie, are you a UFC person or no?

Speaker 4 (46:58):
I was just thinking, I think the last time I
watched UFC, like Anderson Silva broke his leg.

Speaker 2 (47:03):
Oh wow, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (47:05):
Yeah, anders and the Spider I remember that, and then
Chris Waldman like I liked him, and then I was
Ronda Rousey.

Speaker 3 (47:12):
I thought I was just talk.

Speaker 2 (47:14):
We're going back away.

Speaker 4 (47:15):
It's been a while.

Speaker 2 (47:16):
I'm this, but I'm saying this as somebody who is
very similar on that front. You know, we boy, I'm
really getting nostalgic here. But I remember when when I
was doing the show in like six o seven, one
of our producers was a big UFC guy, and I
was just this was the Rampage Jackson era. Chuck Ladell

(47:37):
was just kind of it was when Rampage Jackson knocked
out Chuck Ladell, and I was like, who is this guy?
And then it just kind of it was on the
cover of Sports Illustrated and everyone started talking about it.
So I fell in love. And my best friend at
the time, Jeremy Poplin, we did a local show together
and we would talk UFC and then he got big locally,
and I think this is the story for you know,

(47:58):
a lot of places around the country to wear okay,
UFC gets big and now all of a sudden, in
your city there's a promotion. Like for instance, in touls
we had Deal Cook Yellow polla cook, and he'd put
on fights once twice a month and they were awesome
for local fighters. Somewhere like in the last couple of years,
it's like that interest has waned. But I'm trying to
I'm trying to get back in, you know, I'm trying

(48:19):
to jump back in. I think, well, knowing that Poppy's
got to pick here, I think this might be a
I think this might be an opportunity to jump back in.
I'll go, I'll wash the night.

Speaker 4 (48:31):
Are you going to add it to your plane parlay?

Speaker 2 (48:34):
I don't know if I feel that confident. I don't
think the Plank parlay has kind of been a fly
by the seat of my pants kind of a thing
over the last few weeks. Just TBH with you. But
we'll see when we get there. I maybe maybe in July.
Maybe I think we should do that.

Speaker 4 (48:54):
In July, I think I should get back into it.
I kind of want to.

Speaker 2 (48:57):
So do you want to start with just pay somewhat
attention tonight to UFC three sixteen. Yes, we've got a
bunch of interesting events. You've got UFC on ABC which
is coming up on June twenty first, and then UFC
three seventeen. Uh T, Poorio versus Alvera will be pretty big.

(49:19):
So maybe maybe that can be our next big deal
here on the Plank Show. Plus, know how these Friday
night shows work, you know, you never know. It might
get a lot of reaction to it might be a
lot of fight. Fans are like, all right, get into it,
let's go, let's talk about it. Everything is fair game
here on Fox Sports Radio, as we come to you
live for the Fox Sports Radio Studios. Okay, good, solid

(49:41):
contributor to the program. Jerome is next up in Charleston.
What's going on, Drome? You're on Fox Sports Radio?

Speaker 12 (49:47):
Is this the plankster from Oklahoma?

Speaker 2 (49:50):
What up? Jerome from Charleston? Yes, sir, I just wanted
to say it.

Speaker 6 (49:55):
You three thanks, but no thanks. Human cooking body not
on my to doings. Okay, no interest in it, especially
when women fighting each other, because I was always told
every time I watched I see that, I said, I
was talking, you never hit a woman. Never, And I
don't get any of my jolly. I've seen women beating

(50:16):
up on each other. Okay, I just don't. I don't
know what it is. But I used to love botching
when I was growing up, you know, with haggaway and
hands and sugary limb and mohammed. You know that's what
boxing was about.

Speaker 12 (50:30):
But just stuff now, I got.

Speaker 6 (50:32):
No, I just don't don't.

Speaker 10 (50:34):
Don't like it at all.

Speaker 6 (50:35):
It's just when it's women turns me off to you
wouldn't not believe how much it turns me off.

Speaker 12 (50:42):
You you just never hit a woman and beating on
each other.

Speaker 6 (50:46):
Don't like it at all. I wouldn't walk across the
street to watch that. Okay, just don't like it, and
but I just wanted to. I had probably probably talking
about it. Hot Damn Steel might try. How dare you
let him steal my fader? Because I was just about
to ask how much is the Great Adams Silvera gonna
let the Oklahoma City bad Boys get away with tomorrow night?

Speaker 12 (51:11):
How much?

Speaker 6 (51:11):
I mean jogs Alxedda always pushes off and he almost
got into it with Nimoh domn Knight, So I look
for that to happen again a few more times. I
really enjoy that he and the other guy number twenty three,
the kid from Charleston, they don't back down.

Speaker 12 (51:31):
Okay, then you've got Caruso. He liked to he's a
hack to man, thwarts.

Speaker 6 (51:37):
A hat to man. So I'm just wondering how much
are they going to be able to get away with
chause we're gonna have another dust ump tomorrow night.

Speaker 2 (51:44):
I'm almoye Jrue. I have a question for you. Are
you theorizing here on this program that Adam Silver wants
the Thunder to win this thing.

Speaker 6 (51:53):
Chris, how damn you insinuate something right there about me.
I'm for fairness, okay, but hey, but I watched the
game sometimes and I'm thinking this has got to be
rigged there, because there was a couple of times down
the stretching game one it was especially when dort See
I think it was Niche Smith he went up against

(52:14):
and he knocked him to the floor.

Speaker 12 (52:16):
I said, that's a foul, and Darth.

Speaker 6 (52:18):
You know I love Doris by the way, said, oh,
that's the rule of Blerda County. Now I've watched a
lot of basketball. I said, that's the rule of crop polo,
all right. And then Shiakim got bush whack while he
was chasing a loose ball and he's like screaming out
a foul and they didn't call anything. But they overcame

(52:38):
all of that. Sorry, they took Oklahoma, said he's best shot,
and they stood up to him. So we don't see,
it's gonna be like that old Tom Petty song.

Speaker 12 (52:48):
I won't back down. You just standing me up to
the gates of hell, and I won't back down.

Speaker 6 (52:54):
So I can't wait to do I can't watch, I
can't wait to see Gamp.

Speaker 12 (52:58):
I don't know what I'm gonna do with myself.

Speaker 6 (53:00):
Put in twenty four.

Speaker 2 (53:01):
Hey can I come over and have a Come on, man,
I got you. Thanks, Joe, appreciate the phone call. Come
on over, get on here to Oklahoma. Let's see. It
looks like the storm is gonna be hitting our area.
What do they have here on the storm tracker right
now about four oh three am, So just make sure
you get here before then. Jerome, we got a spot

(53:22):
right here. You can at the pool or the pond.
Pond might be better for you. Got a couch out here. Yeah,
let's have dinner. I love the passion. Now question throw
it out to the to the family. Bree, Mark, sorry
with you, Abree, if you put truth? Seramon Adam Silver
does he even really care who wins this thing? Like

(53:44):
with OKC, let me lay out the reasons why okay
se could be somewhat dynastic. You think about guys like
Shay Gil, Jos Alexander who won the MVP going away
this year. Jalen Williams doesn't look like he's gonna go anywhere.
Jada even though he disappears in some big moments unfortunately,
feel like chet Holmgren's going to be a part of this.
They've got, you know, okay See. Actually, for all of

(54:05):
the greatness, they've kind of swung and missed on their
foreign overseas stashed players, if you will. So they claim
that they've got a guy stash that's gonna make that's
gonna make a big difference for him. They have assets galore,
so they might be able to make a big move.
So there is there's a chance that this could be
something special in okay See. Meanwhile, on the Indiana side

(54:27):
of things, you know, I mean, come on, that's pretty
amazing what Tyrese Haliburton has been able to do, especially
in a year whenever he was what was the phrase,
the most overrated player in the league is cert Yeah,
what what he was voted on in a super secret
pull on the Athletic like if you put truth Seramon
Adam Silverdy think he has a true rooting interest in

(54:48):
seeing okay See or Indiana win this for the quote
unquote good of the league.

Speaker 4 (54:53):
I mean, I feel like if he if there was
any part of him that was thinking that thunder that
he would want the Thunder only because they had such
a historic see and then just to be like, oh, see,
the season does matter, because the regular season does matter
because look at this team dominated during the regular season
and actually finished off and won the championship.

Speaker 3 (55:12):
I think that would be the only thing.

Speaker 4 (55:14):
But other than that, now, what do you.

Speaker 2 (55:16):
Think Mark, You think he's got a true rooting interest
one way or the other. And what would be for
the good of the league, But.

Speaker 5 (55:22):
The good of the league just hoping that these two
teams would attract an audience.

Speaker 2 (55:30):
Maybe get a little bigger audience out there. Hey, you
guys recognized.

Speaker 5 (55:35):
We've been talking about, you know, small market teams and
that these two small markets have the ability to put
together a team and make it worthwhile, that they've done
the work, that they didn't have giant pockets of money
to build a team. That these smaller markets can actually

(55:56):
do it. So why fix it? Because they act they
got there by having good teams and good strategies and
good players.

Speaker 2 (56:05):
I will add one thing that is very interesting is
the Thunder. The Thunder went through a true tank. I
mean they really did. And it took a while, right
because the year that they wanted to start the tank
was the year that Chris Paul ended up having his
return from I guess the abyss. They made the move

(56:28):
where they traded away Russell Westbrook and they moved on
from Paul George, and then, all of a sudden, in
what was supposed to be like a tank year, they
made the playoffs in twenty nineteen twenty twenty, and then
they went into an abyss, a three year, two and
a half year abyss of just a true tank. And
the reason why they were able to get out of

(56:50):
it so quickly is because shake Gilgess Alexander ended up
being an absolute rock star. Right, That's how they were
able to get out of this so quickly, Because I mean,
did they draft fairly well, oh absolutely, But there's some
big misses in there too, you know Pokashevsky. I don't

(57:11):
even know if that dude still plays basketball. But the
bottom line, more than anything else is they were able
to get out of it when so many teams couldn't. Why. Well,
because they decided to punt on their two big assets
and Paul George and Russell Westbrook at a time whenever
they were still very valuable. And then I guess by
you can say lucked out if you want. I think

(57:32):
they identified a guy and said, Shay Gilgess, Alexander is
a dude that we want and we can get all
this draft capital and all the pig swaps, and that's great,
but this is who we want to try to build
around because of what we see in him, and it's
ended up working out. I think it's I think it's
a cool story of team building. Now, it doesn't always work.
I feel like the Trailblazers have been in a tank

(57:52):
for about five years now. The Rockets were able to
get out of it. They had a good bounce back
this year after a couple of year ten seventy six ers.
Never I mean the process. Remember the process was the
first time. We're like the Lakers tanked for a couple
of years. But this is a pretty incredible story, especially
for a market like Oklahoma City. All right, quick break,

(58:14):
there's a major story that developed in the NBA this week.
Can't believe we haven't talked about it, but I guess
the biggest show in town has a vacancy and the
names that are being banded about for the Knicks fascinating.
We'll dive into it next, right, here with your calls
on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (58:30):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 2 (58:43):
All right, welcome into the Plank Show right here on
Fox Sports Radio. You know, one thing we haven't talked
about quite yet, but we definitely need to is the
way things ended in the Stanley Cup Final tonight. And
now again, I know there's a lot of people out here,
and I guess it's kind of impoor taste to actually

(59:03):
acknowledge that I don't watch a sport as much as
I should and I'm just supposed to sit here and
talk like an expert. But you have enough people that
do that in the sports world. I'll just tell you
I don't know much about the Oilers and I don't
know much about the Florida Panthers, but I'm loving every
second of this Stanley Cup Final. Watched every minute of it,

(59:24):
including the wild comeback from Edmonton to force overtime. You know,
thirst can't clear woman shot Shade, but Ronskeith and.

Speaker 4 (59:33):
Great, that's time Cory Perry, this time to day exteen.

Speaker 11 (59:39):
Seconds, the.

Speaker 2 (59:43):
Awesome, awesome call and then over time times too. Wait
you're born out warm as hard as long shad pants.

Speaker 12 (59:51):
He don stay here.

Speaker 2 (59:53):
To marshak any time the series any shout good shed and.

Speaker 13 (59:58):
Overtime and the Panthers w in game two by four.

Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
The series, it's tied. Hit a game a piece, that's awesome,
that's awesome, love it the series, even at a game
of piece. Florida looking to go back to back. I've
been a three straight Stanley Cup Finals, lost a couple
of years ago with the Vegas, came back one last
year and I beat Vegas last year. They're they're they're
fun team, and I am a fan. I'm a fan

(01:00:26):
of just the hockey to me is one of those
that you can kind of jump in at any point
and still love it. It's it's still a beautiful game. It's
like it's like a soap opera. You don't watch a
soap opera for a while. You jump in on Days
of our Lives, You're like, oh, there's bo, there's so
and so. Yeah, I remember those hockey's like that. You know,
the faces might change and the teams might change a bit,

(01:00:48):
but the action is still NonStop. So thumbs up the
kudos at a boy. You go, girl, I'm in on
the hockey right now. But if you're gonna come on
here and you're gonna try to talk, hey, what do
you think about the shift and doing this with their line?
I got no clue. I just don't. I feel like
I'm having to defend myself here and get something that
no one's really calling me out on. Hey, don't try

(01:01:09):
to get too in the weeds with me, because I'm
gonna disappoint you. Just know that I'm enjoying what I'm
watching right now.

Speaker 4 (01:01:15):
I think that's the good thing about hockey fans is
they understand that the NHL postseason at people actually really
really get into because that's why I start watching hockey.

Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
You know what I hate, though, and listen, I'm gonna
get right to you. Anthony at eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox. I gotta line open if you guys
want to jump in eight seven seven nine ninety six
six three sixty nine. I think what I hate and
what I'm really despising is when people jump on a
bandwagon for a sport or I think the term would
be the casuals and they act like, you know, it all.

(01:01:48):
That's what pisses me off, right, And I saw it
a lot with you know, softball, and I see it
a lot with college football, see it a lot like
even the settlement here, it's like, you don't know what
you're talking about. You sound dumb, but you're just going
to continue to fire away on hot takes on social
media or Facebook or wherever. And it's just it sounds

(01:02:10):
clueless that. I just think that's part of the problem
with like X and Facebook and Instagram is everyone's opinion
can be heard, and somehow all of your terrible opinions
funneled to my for you page. I don't know why,
or as my daughter calls it, my fy what's on
your fy page? Dad? I don't know what that means?
Is it too hard to say? For you? But I

(01:02:34):
just it's okay to just be a fan and enjoy something.
It's okay to say, man, that was awesome, and not
saying I don't understand why they were doing this. It's like,
who cares, it's fun. It's a great moment. Hate it
for oiler fans because when you talk about environments that
you see I remember being a kid and when the
Timberwolves first started up and then they got good. I

(01:02:55):
remember the KG era Stefan Marberry. I remember being a
kid and saying, man, I want to go see a
Timberwolves game in the person because that environment looks awesome.
And it was the first time because I was kind
of spoiled, right I was. I lived in Saint Louis.
The Blues were pretty good, the Cardinals were pretty good.
I'd go to all their games and it was great.
I mean, the Cardinals football team was, but you know,

(01:03:18):
we had good baseball and I always have good crowds,
but we never had the NBA, and we never had
college football, and I would always and the hockey was
what it was, but I always would love these NBA
in these environments like what you saw whenever I was
a kid in Minnesota, and I think for this generation
what you're seeing now in Oklahoma City, that's a great environment.

(01:03:39):
That environment in Edmonton, even though they lost. I mean
you could actually hear the call for the Panthers radio
network because it was so rock and it was so
rockous and it was so jamming that when the Oilers ted,
it literally probably broke sound berries. I mean, the roof
came off and the parties in the streets. It's great.

(01:04:01):
That's a that's an environment I want to be a
part of. That's the series. And I'm behind the Blank
Show on a Friday night into a Saturday morning, fully
behind the Stanley Cup Finals and the fun that it's
brought us so far. All Right to the phones we
go eighty seven to seven ninety nine on Fox. Anthony
in Louisiana. What's going on? Bud? Welcome to the show. Hey, Chris,
how you doing outstanding? How are you?

Speaker 8 (01:04:23):
You know Indiania one? You find it?

Speaker 11 (01:04:25):
Yes?

Speaker 10 (01:04:25):
Yes, you know in the Anna one that'd be Oklahoma
about one coin?

Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
I know it. Hurt my soul, Anthony, hurt my soul?

Speaker 4 (01:04:33):
Yes?

Speaker 12 (01:04:33):
Hey Brice, Hey, how are you How you doing great? Yeah,
it's good to hear from you.

Speaker 3 (01:04:40):
By Yeah, thank you. Are you a scenes fan by
any chance?

Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (01:04:44):
I'm a Cowboys fank.

Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
Oh what Louisiana is right there next to the Texas border.
What part of Louisiana are you in? Aunt?

Speaker 12 (01:04:53):
I'm in Greenbooe, Louisiana.

Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
Okay, so you're not too far away.

Speaker 12 (01:04:57):
How I playing Dubo Jum? I heard him on the radio.

Speaker 2 (01:05:00):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 7 (01:05:03):
You talk to will do all right, Yeah, I take you.

Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
Did you know that breeze that Indiana beat Oklahoma City
by one point the other night?

Speaker 4 (01:05:13):
I think I heard that, But I'm glad I cause
I kind of did forget, So I'm coining they were.

Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
Here was the final call? You tell me which network
is which? Okay? This was uh, this was one of
the radio networks on the on the call.

Speaker 13 (01:05:27):
Thunder down one. Three tests left first, I'll give them
the ball. Here we go looking holding loves deflected by Turner.
It's over the Indiana Pacers steel game one of the
NBA Finals, leading for.

Speaker 2 (01:05:39):
Only the final pretense of the.

Speaker 13 (01:05:40):
Second and winning one eleven one ten on the Halliburton
mid range jumper.

Speaker 2 (01:05:45):
And there's one network. Now hold back your your pick.
Which one you think is okay? See and which one
you think is Indian? I know this is gonna be
pretty hard. Whoever gets it's gonna have to shoot it immediately.

Speaker 14 (01:05:55):
Carusso from the near side, Hash flips it toward the
call and Turner. The game ends with Indiana winning one
hundred and eleven to one hundred ten on the one
to one hundred scale of improbability.

Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
This was what one hundred and seventeen. I was going
to go with one thousand. What sockey. Now, here's the thing.
The Indiana guys are kind of low key, right have
you noticed that?

Speaker 4 (01:06:25):
Oh my gosh, I can I can go on like
a ten minute Patty sweeka rant about the Indiana Pacers
radio guys.

Speaker 2 (01:06:33):
They're very upset think about that.

Speaker 4 (01:06:36):
Oh thank gosh that for the haliburt I covered both
of those games. The hallibur called the Knicks game and
this game, and I'm so thankful that he woke up
and was like, wow.

Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
Well let me give you that. That's what I wanted
to play originally, but I went the final. Okay, so
this in case you couldn't tell, because it is a
little bit hard to tell. The first one was the Thunder,
the second one was the Pacers. Here this shot by
Tyrese Haliburton, courtesy of the Pacers Radio Network.

Speaker 14 (01:07:04):
Rebound, Indiana. Eight seconds to go. The Pacers are not
going to call a time out. Paddleburton has it with
three driving, with two pulling up and heading.

Speaker 2 (01:07:14):
With three tenths of a second to go.

Speaker 14 (01:07:18):
How many more times can this.

Speaker 12 (01:07:21):
Team do that?

Speaker 2 (01:07:24):
So wheets baby, that's a good see. There you go
Mark Boyle, that's the energy I need. Mark Boyle, by
the way, over two thousand games in his NBA career.

Speaker 3 (01:07:38):
Are you friends with him?

Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
Miyami share, I don't know. I don't know. I know
that I would like to, you know, get him a
cup of coffee?

Speaker 4 (01:07:45):
Should I feel like it's a poss Hey, he's nearby, right,
that's right.

Speaker 3 (01:07:50):
Yeah, he's here.

Speaker 2 (01:07:52):
He's here in Oklahoma City. Yes, I'll bring you a coffee.
Courts Now, we we did this, uh the other night
on the Sunday Night Show kind of how it seems
like he no sells things and people pointed out that
he's he's done this for so long. It's kind of
his thing. It's like everything's very professional and everything is
very buttoned up. So I need you to lose your

(01:08:15):
mind on a moment like that, And I felt like
he did here. By the way, was the fun of
the Oklahoma City Call of the Tyres. Haliburton jumps Paceless,
have it seven sections, Haliburton across the time on.

Speaker 13 (01:08:27):
A five down one, Haliburton dancing on Wallace, pulls up
light playing harkst and sticks it with three touts on
a second to play Pacess lead one eleven one ten
with three tests of a second to play time.

Speaker 2 (01:08:38):
Out Thunder Matt Pinto. By the way, sorry pop my
p there. Matt Pinto is the voice of the Thunder.
I think he's fantastic.

Speaker 4 (01:08:44):
I love him chi chinga thunder moneyball is my favorite
thing that I have to defend myself and say that
he's like my favorite guy.

Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
We all have our favorites.

Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
He has his uh, his soliloquy like he the way
that he is able to we words together. It's pretty awesome. Man.
I'm a big fan. All right, let's hit some tweets?
Shall we at Breed Denise twenty six at Mark mar
C Ramsey sixty four nine fifty and I am at

(01:09:13):
Plank Show. At Plank Show, everybody go follow us on
exit Fox Sports Radio. Nature Boy does ask did young
Plank have the privilege of seeing a Neil Lomax game
in person? I did whenever I was whenever I was
a little kid. My grandpa had season tickets to the
Saint Louis Football Cardinals and he would split it with

(01:09:35):
uh with mister Crockett, who was my grandpa was an educator,
so all of his friends were mister Right. There was
my grandpa Papau, and then there was mister Malone and
mister Podezva and mister Crockett and all these people were
And he took me to a Vikings Cardinals game and
I saw the great Neil Lomax play. I think the

(01:09:57):
Cardinals actually won that game. I think the opposing teams
quarterback was Tommy Kramer, if you want to look that up.
How long ago? It was many many moons ago. Craig
as a myriad of things here. I want to start
with Craig's take on the Steelers. Okay, as a Steelers fan,

(01:10:17):
I didn't want Rogers, but we got them, especially considering,
especially since Minnesota ditting off from a deal on the
Brett Favre track, considering the noise on the sports wires
about them not being enamored with JJ, I'm all in, now,
let's go Steelers. See that's the thing. It's one of
the great kind of sports things that happened. I'll give

(01:10:40):
you a good example of this, Craig. We'll give you
a good example of this. Arnie Spanier last Sunday Night
my partner on Sunday Night, so I get to do
my solo act here with Brion Mark on Friday nights
and then on Sunday nights, I hang out with the
stinking genius Arnie Spanier. From ten p to one a
Central Time, we recapped the week preview of the weekend
and Arnie last week said he didn't I don't want Yannis.

(01:11:01):
I don't care about Yannis in New York. He's a
big Knicks fan allegedly and just Manaverarika, he doesn't want Yanis. No,
don't care. We don't needy, honest. I don't want to
get rid of Josh Hard. I don't want to get
rid of these guys. Today there is a story not again,
I don't know what's real and what isn't real in
the world of the introwebs anymore, but there was a
story that made the rounds that the Knicks are preparing

(01:11:24):
to make. And I don't know where these definitions come from,
but this is from at Legiant Hoops. The Knicks are
prepared to make a tsunami type offer to acquire Yannis
from the Bucks. And he credited Gary Wolfel, who writes
for I don't Know. He's got a lot of things

(01:11:46):
in his bio, and none of them have an actual
entity that he writes for no no offense. I mean
to each their own get a Twitter account and get
about a thousand followers and can do whatever you want.
But so I sent that to Arnie. I'm like, hey, Arnie,
there's your guy. The Arnie one eighty is coming on
Sunday night. What do you think his response was to

(01:12:07):
that tweet? I love that guy, so kind of to
Craig's point, you can say I don't want him. I
don't want that guy on my team. Then all of
a sudden, when you find out that your team is
actually in the mix to get said player. And this
gonna be any sport. I'm very guilty of this in football, right,

(01:12:27):
I'll become anti a certain quarterback because I want to
what I saw on college For instance, I know, Will
Howard just won a national championship. I don't think he's
an NFL quarterback, right, So I didn't want the Raiders
to go draft him, But if they would have, I
would have sat here and been like, you know that
Will Howard. He found a way to win a championship.
I mean, the great example of Bill Simmons always used
was Tim Tebow. You're like Tim Tebow, sucks. I can't

(01:12:50):
stand him, and then all of the sudden he signs
with your team. You're like, well, you know, the arm
angle's not too bad, and you're talking about a leader here.
It's kind of got got on your side too with Tebow.
Kind of feel like that's the case. Now what Craig
is talking about to what Arnie's talking about. You might say,
I do not want to be near Aaron Rodgers. But
as soon as you sign it and be like, oh,
you know, you look pretty good down the stretch with
the Jets, just had all kinds of dysfunction around him.

(01:13:11):
And you know, it's not like he was terrible both years.
He got hurt the first year. Suddenly you start seeing
all the positives. And I'm not saying that it's going
to be a home run, but I gotta be honest
with you, I'm very intrigued to see how this thing
plays out, because I think he's going to be pretty good.
Harry James Taylor. I've always felt if Adam Silver could,

(01:13:34):
he would want a bigger market to win a title,
but tough to make a call with Indian OKC as
small market teams. That's the question we asked earlier in
the program when I said, put truth Serum and Adam
Silver right now, does you want Okay see or does
he want Indiana to win this series? And I think, Brie,
when did we come to the decision? Right? It's not

(01:13:55):
maybe not really a feel for either one of them.
There might be something for while with OKC and a
championship can help spur that. But I don't think just
from the makeup of a team or a market or
a following, I don't think really he would have a
true rooting interest for the quote unquote good of the league.

Speaker 4 (01:14:12):
Right, No, I'm not really in the long run.

Speaker 2 (01:14:16):
In the short term, he probably didn't want the Knicks
and the Lakers. I think that's the obvious. But you
got what you got and we'll see. You know. It's
it's amazing how many people jump on board when something
gets interesting. So you might see the numbers that were
released today and say, oh my gosh, how is this
gonna How is this gonna impact anything positively for the

(01:14:39):
NBA because the numbers suck. But get a good series going,
have good Game two, another exciting Game three or four.
Suddenly you start getting more people on board that might
be of the Ilk that I don't know much about
the thunder, so I'm gonna watch it, or I don't
care about the Pacers. Now all of a sudden, you
start dragging people in. I mean, the game peaked at
eleven million when Tyree sall Burt hit the game winning shot,

(01:15:01):
and that was the same number for the Mavericks game
last year in the finals against the Celtics. All right,
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine ninety six six three sixty nine. We had big
breaking news in the college football world, and we still
owe some talk about the vacancy in New York with
the Knicks. We're diving to it all next right here
on Fox Sports Radio. You know, every so often, bree

(01:15:24):
I do want to cheat a little bit and know
what Debreeze three topic is. But I'm I'm not gonna
do it, not gonna do it? Really, Yeah, no, I
I every so often I think about asking Durry the break.
He's like, what's Breeze three tonight?

Speaker 4 (01:15:40):
While so you have time to prepare. But that's good's
that's a good idea.

Speaker 3 (01:15:43):
You come up with it on the fly.

Speaker 4 (01:15:45):
Compared to Mark and I, I.

Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
Just I like to make it like a spur of
the moment thing for me. Challenge myself if you will,
because I just if I think about it, I'll overthink
it and then it will take over the show.

Speaker 4 (01:16:00):
Like I'm talking of overthinking. So I understand.

Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
Quick tweet before we get to the phones, I see
Mike the leprechaun as making his triumphant return to the program.
But Craig writes, the Knicks shouldn't have fired Tom Thibodeaux, which,
by the way, are we in a fight about the
pronunciation of his name? Didn't didn't he say that it's
Phibodeaux and we just all kind of ignored it or
like nuts, it's Thibodeaux. It's like when Jason Travis Kelsey

(01:16:26):
came out and he's like, hey, my name is actually
Travis Kelce. Who are all like, yeah, that's great, you're
Travis Kelsey. That's really cool, but you're Kelsey. I felt
like I remember that somewhere with the Tom Thibodeau see,
and I'm even back to it. But anyway, the Nick
shouldn't have fired Tom Thibodeau, writes Craig Keller. They needed
a bench, and that fact plus a few players probably

(01:16:48):
turned him out, cost him tuned him out. Sorry, tuned
him out. I turned him out, tuned him out. He
wins plus wins twenty four playoff games in five years,
and the twelve previous Nick coaches combined had seven. Wow.
Someone with the way that like Knicks fans, I can't

(01:17:11):
decide if I'm with you or if I can't stand Joe.
I love Let is Go. I tell you, guys, my
favorite show that I listened to the most outside of
ours is probably Jason and Mike because it's always on.
And after the Knicks advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals, right,
let's be clear here advanced de bree to the Eastern

(01:17:35):
Conference Finals, not the NBA Finals, not a championship, the
Eastern Conference Finals. Climbing on light poles. They were climbing billboards.
I was listening to fo Hi Gary Delbate talk about
trying to fight through people to just walk to Grand
Central Station. I mean, it was crazy. And then I

(01:17:56):
hear Jason tell me that Jalen Brunson is the great
Nick of all time. And it's one of those moments
where you're like, a guy's made the Eastern Conference Finals
and it's the first time you've done it in twenty
years now to each of their own on the celebration.
But I think we went from Jalen Brunson being the

(01:18:17):
greatest Nick of all time to is he even a
number one by the time that they were knocked out
of the playoffs. So I think Tibbs is who he is, right, Bree.
He's gonna be a guy that will win you games.
He'll take you far in the playoffs, but he hasn't
been able to get over that proverbial hump yet. And
I just I kind of felt like, for the first

(01:18:37):
time in a while, everything seemed to be in lockstep
with the Knicks. Hey, you know, they got a pretty
good plan for the future. Let's see if they go
and get Kadie this offseason, or you know, if they
do swing for the fences to get you. Honest, I
just I was really shocked by this. So, you know,
Rick Carlisle made the joke that he thought it was
something AI that had come across whenever he was fired,

(01:18:57):
but the reputation followed him of where Aaron on dudes
and wearing them out? You know, the Knicks will The
Knicks have asked for permission to hire Jason Kidd, all right,
at least talk to Jason Kidd. And if I'm the Mavericks,
I'm not gonna give it to him. And if I'm
Jason Kidd, I don't know that that's necessarily a better job,
which sounds crazy when they just traded Luca. But you
got Cooper Flagg coming in, you got Anthony Davis and

(01:19:19):
Kyrie Irvin coming back. It's not a bad roster for
the Mavericks. So in the end, I think it's a mistake.
I do. I just and I don't care. Doggie and
Mike Frances can fight about who it was, Leon Russ,
Leon Russell, listen to me, Leon Rose, or if it
was the Dolans. I don't care. It's a bad move.

(01:19:42):
You're cooking. Do you know what implodes a good run
more than anything else, a bad decision on a coach.
I really assumed the case of the Mavericks, Tony Braxton,
why would you make a move like this? It makes
no sense. But again it's the Knicks.

Speaker 1 (01:19:57):
Don't listening. No Fox Sports for you.

Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
I'll roll into the final hour. I see you, Mike
the Leprekhan, it's been a minute. We'll get your ride
in here. Shouts out to my man, Nick, who's keeping
me on on point at Florio Photo. Yes, I'm aware
of Gary Delabte. I just full disclosure. I probably listened
to way too much Howard Stern. I'm just being I

(01:20:21):
love it. I listened to all the old shows. I
listened to Eric the actor and Ronnie Mund probably daily.
So Nick, I'm sorry if I sometimes go at the
delebate fa fa fo Hi Tatatoothi. But when he was
telling the story about trying to get out of Madison
Square Garden after they eliminated Boston, You're just like everybody,

(01:20:43):
calmed down, settle down. You just made it to the
Eastern Conference finals. But yeah, I've been there in twenty years,
so I get it. If you want to be crazy,
that's fine. But then to turn around and the topic
djore to fire your coach didn't really didn't really settle
with me too well. But Brie, I was surprised to

(01:21:04):
see that. What you were cool. You're like, hey, move on,
let's go. And you think Jason Kidd should listen, right,
I do?

Speaker 3 (01:21:11):
I do.

Speaker 4 (01:21:12):
I think like his time, He's done really great in Dallas,
and I think this is a good opportunity.

Speaker 3 (01:21:17):
And it's so funny we talk about like small markets
and big markets.

Speaker 4 (01:21:20):
I'm like, see Leo leave the smaller ish market go
to the bigger ish market.

Speaker 3 (01:21:25):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:21:26):
I just feel like he's established himself as a really
good head coach. So why not come to New York
and you have a roster that's like I would say,
like eighty percent ready to go. Sure, maybe you're just
missing one or two pieces. And let's just I don't
know that there's something good.

Speaker 3 (01:21:41):
It feels good.

Speaker 4 (01:21:41):
It feels like a good match to me.

Speaker 2 (01:21:43):
And who knows if there is truly a belief that
you have a GM Aniko Harrison that's gonna be able
to get things right for you. I don't know. I
just am I am I off base. If I don't
look at Jason Kidd and see him as some incredible coach,

(01:22:04):
I like.

Speaker 4 (01:22:06):
What what what counts as an incredible coach?

Speaker 3 (01:22:09):
To you?

Speaker 2 (01:22:09):
You've won a title? Okay, well, let me let me
ask you a trivia question. You ready?

Speaker 8 (01:22:15):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
Do you know who the top three longest tenured coaches
are in.

Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
The NBA right now?

Speaker 2 (01:22:22):
Right now?

Speaker 3 (01:22:23):
Okay, I'm gonna go number one.

Speaker 2 (01:22:24):
Eric Spolstra very good, seventeen years.

Speaker 4 (01:22:27):
Okay, that's a good start.

Speaker 2 (01:22:32):
I knocked.

Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
And then that's it.

Speaker 4 (01:22:36):
That's all I got.

Speaker 9 (01:22:36):
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:22:37):
I'm well. Number two is pretty easy, really yeah, Okay,
kick yourself when I tell.

Speaker 4 (01:22:42):
You, Oh, give me a tiny hint.

Speaker 2 (01:22:46):
Okay, they've won a title.

Speaker 4 (01:22:49):
They've won a title. Z not not the Night, not
Mike Malone. He's gone, right, I'm not Doc.

Speaker 2 (01:22:57):
Rivers, right he gone?

Speaker 4 (01:22:58):
He Well, yeah, he's.

Speaker 2 (01:23:00):
You're gonna take yourself so bad, am I? Yeah it's
Steve Kerr.

Speaker 4 (01:23:07):
That's pretty bad.

Speaker 2 (01:23:08):
So Eric Spolstra number one, seventeen years, Steve Kerr number two,
eleven years. Do you know who's number three on the list.

Speaker 4 (01:23:17):
I'm gonna go now because it's.

Speaker 2 (01:23:19):
A three way tie between Tyron Lou, Billy Donovant, and
Mark Dagnall with the.

Speaker 3 (01:23:26):
Thunder Billy with the Bulls.

Speaker 2 (01:23:29):
Yes, five years, five years, five seasons. That's it. So
I guess my point is maybe I shouldn't be surprised
by this movement because five years is the third longest
tenured coach in the NBA. Now that that TIBs got
fired by the New York Knicks, so some might say
they gave him plenty of time. I just I don't know, man,

(01:23:49):
I feel like and maybe I'm holding the Bucks against
him too much. I feel like Jason Kid's one of
those guys and maybe wears out as welcome a little bit.
But with that said, in the short term it usually
runs pretty well, right. Can't hold the Nets against him
in the one season because he did win and took
the Bucks job. Never really got over the hump with

(01:24:13):
the Milwaukee Bucks, but as soon as he took the
as soon as he took the Mavericks job, Conference Finals
in twenty two, NBA Finals in twenty four, the trade
of Luca, who now apparently is in the best shape
of his life. Stop me if you seen those videos yet.
Maybe this isn't me problem, but maybe I'm holding too

(01:24:35):
much of his past against him, because I mean, it
seems to be the first call the Knicks made. Now,
Danny Hurley let everyone know he wasn't interested. But I
don't know if the Nicks were ever interested in Danny
Hurley eler either. Do we No?

Speaker 4 (01:24:51):
Okay, I think so, but I also think, like what
do we? I just think also how we see NBA
coaches now and what they do now what we expect
out of them and in such a player's league, and
it's like, it's just hard to be like he's like
a great coach versus like he's like a mediocre coach.
It's like, I don't think if we were talking about

(01:25:12):
Rick Carlile last year that we would ever look at
him and be like, Wow, he's gonna he's going to
really make an impact with the Pacers and take him
to the finals, and that he's done. So it's like, Okay,
now you know, hypothetically the Pacers win the finals, where
are we going to look at Rick Carlisle and see
what he's done in his coaching tenure and be like,
should we start talking about him two titles? Two titles, yes.

Speaker 2 (01:25:37):
Two different places, two different places that have never won
a title.

Speaker 4 (01:25:41):
Exactly, But imagine would we have ever brought him up? No?

Speaker 2 (01:25:46):
Okay, no, I'm agreeing with you. So back to the
original point before Michael Leprekahn gets in here, before Breeze three,
you think Jason Kidd should listen to the Knicks. You
think you should consider it right now because I think
you've sold me on this. I think you've won aided
me on Yeah, I think you won aided me on it.
I like, I'm one of the few people that when

(01:26:08):
the Luca trade was made, and I know it's funny
how played out because he got hurt, but I was like, oh, man,
Anthony Davis is playing well, you know this sucks. I
don't know if the Laker is going to be able
to advance this year, not long term. They're in a
good place with Luca, but I kind of thought, boy,
then Mavericks might be a problem if they can get
in the playoffs. And I was thinking of it mostly

(01:26:30):
from a thunder perspective. Right, you got Size and Rico Gafford,
and you got you got Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving
both and now you had Cooper Flagg to the mix.
That looks very inviting to me. But you shift over
to the East. I think it's fair to say the
East might be a little bit more winnable for a
while because you start looking at the West. Okay, se

(01:26:52):
he's not even if even if the Pacers like sweep okay, see,
which I don't think is gonna happen, but they're not
going anywhere. Okay, so he's not going anywhere. They're gonna
be there. Number two. I think the Lakers are gonna
be better. Houston is a team that all of a
sudden is kind of knocking on the door right where
they've got a pretty good core. I mean, Golden State

(01:27:15):
might be in it for one final run with a
full season of Jimmy Butler and Steph Curry. Who am
I leaving out?

Speaker 4 (01:27:21):
I mean, right, Spurs.

Speaker 2 (01:27:25):
At some point, this whole Victor Winbin Yama thing's got
to start paying off a bit, right, and you had
Stephen Castle, You've got Dearn Fox. I mean you start
looking at the Clippers. I mean Kawhi. We saw what
happens whenever he plays. So I mean I just mentioned
six teams now do the same thing. In the East. No,

(01:27:46):
you really can't. I mean, what's going on with what's
going on in the Bucks. We don't know the future
is of Giannis Boston. I mean, Jason Tatum's got a
rupture Achilles. He's out for a while. And I'm reading stories,
or at least Arnie Spaniard keeps telling me story worries
about how with new ownership they're going to try to
avoid luxury tax or at least minimize it, which I
don't think you could avoid it with that roster. I mean,

(01:28:07):
Indiana's good, but I would be willing about that. Jason
Kidd would take his chance at New York and knocking
out Indiana, then he would having to go through the
gatlint that is the West right now. So I think
when I pull back, I think you've sold me on this.
I think you have.

Speaker 4 (01:28:23):
Yeah, there's just something about it that I could see it.
I could just it kind of makes sense to me.

Speaker 3 (01:28:28):
And I don't even know.

Speaker 4 (01:28:29):
Maybe that's with that former player aspect too. And the
Knicks that roster, the guy they went to college together.
They just like to hoop. There's just something very personable
and like kind of fraternity like I feel it. I'm
not sure.

Speaker 2 (01:28:43):
Uh. Truck or Joe brings up a good point though.
If the Knicks get Jason Kidd, you can probably kiss
the Greek freak goodbye. He won't come there because of him. Now.
I understand they had their differences in Milwaukee, but as
I like to say, first of all, money cure is everything,
and number two, there's no such thing as a completely

(01:29:05):
burned bridge. It just doesn't exist in life. Uh, even
with an X, I think bridges can be rebuilt. Now,
some of you might be yelling at the radio, but
all it takes is one text or one call and
someone admitting they're wrong. I mean, Tito Ortiz wanted to
kill Dana White and they ended up fighting. He fought

(01:29:25):
for him again, and it's I mean, it's just that's
my example. I always use bridges can always be rebuilt.
So I hear what you're saying, Trucker John. I don't
think you're wrong, but I do think all it would
take is they sit down of here's what I felt.
What'd you feel? All right? Can we get through this now?
And you come play for the Knicks. And also, I'm
still one of those dorks that thinks Giannis could end

(01:29:48):
up staying in Milwaukee.

Speaker 4 (01:29:50):
No one, Oh no, I'm I don't think he's leaving
at all. Oh no, not at all.

Speaker 2 (01:29:57):
All right, Mike the Leprechaun to get him in here.
It's been a couple of weeks, he moved, he's he's
good to go. So Mike, you get the final word
this segment. What's going on? Buddy? How are you?

Speaker 10 (01:30:09):
It's a very fuzzy line. Can you hear me?

Speaker 4 (01:30:11):
There?

Speaker 2 (01:30:11):
I hear you you sound great.

Speaker 10 (01:30:14):
Okay, it's fuggy from my end. Anyway, Bridges can be built,
I agree, except Lorena and Blank Scott and Marcel. No
bridges were built there.

Speaker 2 (01:30:21):
Absolutely they can. All it takes is a conversation, man,
every bit. Every bridge can be rebuilt.

Speaker 10 (01:30:28):
When I go there in early July and I do
my monologue and bring them the gifts and anyway. So yeah,
hopefully she's she's got one out of three. On the coaches,
No Madula if he is Joe Madula a great coach.

Speaker 2 (01:30:43):
Well, he won a title, but he's only been there
for a year. There are two years now, right, so
two and a half, two and a half. So do
we consider that a bit of a work in progress?

Speaker 10 (01:30:53):
I would take this is his third year. The first
year he filled there. In the second year he won
a title, even though and the first year he did timeouts,
and then and anyway, and last year the Celthic's imploded anyways,
and that was possibly due to injuries and the little complacency.
And by the way, you were wrong about the fact
it was twenty five years since the New York Next.

Speaker 2 (01:31:14):
Word, Oh, sorry, my bad, twenty five years. I apologize.

Speaker 10 (01:31:17):
I used to love house. I used to love howse
turn Oh my god, he used to be so long
she back in the nineties.

Speaker 2 (01:31:24):
It's a little different world now, But I get I
hear what you're saying.

Speaker 10 (01:31:28):
He told the way down. I mean, let me give
you other comedy, a comedian Billy Connolly. Have you ever
heard of Billy Connolly from Scotland?

Speaker 6 (01:31:35):
Yes, yes, same thing.

Speaker 10 (01:31:38):
He does Disney movies and you should see his Oh
my god, talk about it. I had a new parakeets.
I new parakeets. I have parakeets. The reason I didn't
call I just moved house.

Speaker 2 (01:31:51):
I told you I understood that. But the way did
you say you have a parakeet?

Speaker 6 (01:31:55):
Now?

Speaker 10 (01:31:56):
I have three parkeys?

Speaker 2 (01:31:57):
Why would you want to burn? Okay, I'd never understood
bird ownership? All right, I just canna be clear. If
you have a dog, I have two dogs, any cat,
but like a bird, I mean you, I.

Speaker 8 (01:32:07):
Don't get it.

Speaker 10 (01:32:08):
And two hedgehogs two headhogs are they're gonna talk?

Speaker 2 (01:32:16):
So you just want to? I mean, I got a
wife that has a high pitched voice and yells at
me all the time. Why would you want a bird?

Speaker 12 (01:32:22):
There?

Speaker 10 (01:32:24):
Good morning? Good morning?

Speaker 7 (01:32:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:32:29):
But what do they do other than like squeak or.

Speaker 2 (01:32:32):
Good question break good questions.

Speaker 12 (01:32:35):
No, my two.

Speaker 10 (01:32:35):
Kids have two kids.

Speaker 8 (01:32:38):
They they hang out in your head, all right, they.

Speaker 4 (01:32:42):
Just sit They just stand there and look at you
with their eyes on the other side of their head.

Speaker 12 (01:32:46):
They are beautiful.

Speaker 2 (01:32:48):
I'm not doubting their looks. I'm just doubting what they
do for you.

Speaker 10 (01:32:54):
Guaranteed to win tonight, I.

Speaker 2 (01:32:55):
Would say, guaranteed. Well, they're not playing tonight.

Speaker 10 (01:33:01):
Well Sunday, okay, so whenever Sunday, I guess. And that
was one fantastic game one.

Speaker 13 (01:33:06):
Wasn't it.

Speaker 2 (01:33:07):
Oh? I mean yeah, if you're a Pacers fan, it
was amazing, and for about all but point three of it.
For the thunder fans, it was pretty amazing too.

Speaker 8 (01:33:16):
As a neutral fan.

Speaker 10 (01:33:17):
It was one of the best last treatment as I've
ever seen in a game. So there, And by the way,
your friend, what's your name, Aaron Rodgers he goes to
in Dublin in September.

Speaker 2 (01:33:30):
Why is he in Dublin in September?

Speaker 7 (01:33:32):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:33:32):
Oh, because they're they're going they're playing an overseas game, right, Yes, it's.

Speaker 10 (01:33:36):
Called look up quote c r ok Park in Dublin.
The Finger Vikings. I used to play there back in
the nineties, so it's a beautiful stadium. Eighty five thousands.

Speaker 2 (01:33:49):
Can I can? I? What would you play soccer?

Speaker 10 (01:33:53):
I played professional Galelic football, Irish football, Okay, Irish Scalic.
Don't Gaelic the A E L. I see some people
think that's the wrong word, but Gaelic is the correct word,
Gaelic football. I just tow my house, like I said.

Speaker 2 (01:34:10):
Okay, listen, I'm not doubting your I'm not doubting your resume, Mike.
I'm just saying I was not aware of this. This
is new to me.

Speaker 10 (01:34:18):
But I'm telling you I have a few more things
to say, and I have a suggestion for Breeze three
at the end. But anyway, I'm retiring in two weeks.
I'm going to l A. I'm going to Last Day
to the Far and I'm going to visit my my
my daughter who lives in Reno. He was doing. My
first grandchild was due yesterday, so I'm going to swing

(01:34:39):
by there as well. And last, but not least, Breeze three.
Here's a subjection.

Speaker 12 (01:34:46):
Okay, what what would be on.

Speaker 10 (01:34:49):
Your bucket list of places to visit for the rest
all right? Thanks you can? Are you all gone talking
to me?

Speaker 2 (01:34:58):
I think so? Are you feeling good about this conversation?
I am.

Speaker 10 (01:35:02):
Did I make a triumphant.

Speaker 2 (01:35:04):
Oh beyond triumphant? Thanks Mike. I appreciate it. We appointed.
We literally between when was that bree? About an hour ago?
I was joking, like, dude, it's been two weeks as
we've heard from Micheleprechaun. Is he okay? Stephen Case, it
has been a week since we've heard from him. We're like,

(01:35:26):
these are our peeps. We worry about him. We got
to check in on him and legit. The moment after
I said that he was old the play show, we
were thinking about you, Mike. We were thinking about you.
I'm not familiar with Gaelic games or Irish football. I
thought it was I thought I thought they called football

(01:35:47):
soccer over there, didn't they?

Speaker 4 (01:35:49):
That's what I thought.

Speaker 2 (01:35:51):
Who knows, he could be making this all up and
I could be falling for it all, but I'm here
for it. Birds. Have you ever had a pet bird?

Speaker 4 (01:35:59):
I have to be honest, I do not like birds.

Speaker 2 (01:36:02):
I'm not a bird person. Mark.

Speaker 5 (01:36:04):
We had Pete the parakeet, and they would be in
the cage. We would open the door and they would
come out, fly around the house and land on us
and walk on us, and it was great.

Speaker 2 (01:36:17):
Interesting. I was never a big bird guy. It's like
the people that had birds were always the outcast. It's like,
oh look there's I'm just gonna make them a family.
There's the stories they got a bird. You know, it's
weird people over there. So Mark never lived near me,
so I can't claim that. But yeah, never really been
my thing.

Speaker 4 (01:36:37):
Me neither.

Speaker 2 (01:36:38):
And a parakeet, I mean, what's yours? I talked to you.
It just repeats what you say, right.

Speaker 5 (01:36:43):
No, No, those those are miner birds that actually back
because we we went to the pet store and I
was amazed with the minor bird. I was talking to people,
talking to strangers, saying, hey, the bird back here talking
co look at this.

Speaker 2 (01:36:58):
And I was amazed. So basically, what you're telling me
is I got up my bird game, because it's more
than just what Mike was trying to make it out
to be.

Speaker 5 (01:37:10):
Right, that's what Well, I'm all in favor of having
a pair of keet okay, because you can have the
door open, they'll fly out, fly around, land on you.
Then go back in their cage.

Speaker 2 (01:37:19):
Interesting well, the triumphant return of Mike the Leprechaun after
a two week coatus from the program comes flying in.
Let's go all right shows heading down the home stretch
and two hours and twenty minutes and I have spared
you the boredom of the house settlement. I can spare
no more because at the bottom of the hour, I've

(01:37:41):
got to give the details of it. It's just we
got to get a little bit of a facts out there.
And I don't know if this is going to work
or not, but it's an attempt. But y'all know it's
next Breeze three right here on Fox Sports Radio.

(01:38:27):
right here on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
I owe you, guys. I got like two pages that
I wrote, I mean literally wrote for the show about
the nil slash house settlement. And I'm just gonna warn
you right now. We're gonna bring the noise. We're gonna
break some entertainment. But after Breeze three, this is really

(01:38:52):
nerd talk, Like we need to have an alarm mark
for whenever we're going really in the weeds on stuff.
And this happens a lot with me because I love
I love this stuff. I love TV ratings talk, I
love TV right talk. I love college football and college
sports future talk. But it's it's mundane and you don't
really you don't really get an answer. It's kind of

(01:39:15):
like yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll get there. It's like, well,
when where are we going? And finally college football, college
sports after six months of waiting, finish the house settlement.
But we'll we'll talk about it coming up out to
the bottom of the hour, because we got to bring
the noise first. We got to keep you up because
I might put you to sleep with the house settlement talk.

(01:39:36):
So it's time for Breeze three, not one, not two,
but three. It's entertainment. It's good. It's breeze three. This
is always the sign that the show is over to me,
by the way. Yeah, no, it's a good thing. It's
a good thing. It's like we're here, we made it,

(01:39:56):
We've made it. Tonight show flew by too.

Speaker 10 (01:40:01):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:40:02):
So earlier this week, the Orlando Magic, who we always
always talk about, totally very very well known team, they
unveiled a new logo and also some new uniforms. Okay,
so then I just decided, like, what are like three
uniforms in sports that really just like stick with you

(01:40:23):
and that you just like love.

Speaker 2 (01:40:24):
Okay, okay, okay, I need clarification. Okay, are we just
talking bass uniforms or any uniform at all? Why?

Speaker 4 (01:40:32):
Any uniform?

Speaker 2 (01:40:33):
Oh? Okay, any? All right?

Speaker 4 (01:40:36):
Any uniforms, So in all sports obviously all across. So
since Stanley Cup Final, we're talking about hockey, and like,
you know, I'm total fair weather just postseason hockey fan,
and that's totally fine and we admit it, and I
mean totally that's whatever. But I actually did see them
when they play the Kings, Okay, the Seattle Kraken. I

(01:40:57):
love their uniforms. Just their they're they're actual just home,
you're they're away. I don't know what it is, honestly actually,
but they're that sea foam kind of color.

Speaker 2 (01:41:07):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:41:08):
I love that color, like when when it's just purely
that blue and black. That's like my number one. And
they're new and it's exciting and just it's like very
fresh to me. So that's my number one. Number two
I went with like the nineteen eighties Dodgers, like every
time I watched like the old footage, just that like white,

(01:41:30):
that clean white jersey, but like the the font of.

Speaker 3 (01:41:34):
The Dodgers across.

Speaker 4 (01:41:36):
Just like seeing like like Fernando Velinezuela and just like,
I don't know, there's just something really maybe nostalgic, I guess,
even though I wasn't alive, but just watching those old footage, right, Okay,
so very classic to me. And then obviously I'm a Homer,

(01:41:56):
so I'm gonna go Saints, and I'm gonna go the
Saints black top up with the gold pants.

Speaker 2 (01:42:02):
Saints black top with the gold.

Speaker 4 (01:42:05):
Pants yes, the black jersey because I have as Drew
Brees black jersey, and then the gold pants. So that's
Homer for me.

Speaker 2 (01:42:14):
No, no, no, My list here is somewhat Homer took.
All right, Mark, what you got so I know it's
supposed to be breeze. Three okay, but how many you got?
I have a bunch? Okay.

Speaker 5 (01:42:27):
The first one is the White Sox Sunday red pin stripe.

Speaker 2 (01:42:32):
Those are real pretty.

Speaker 5 (01:42:34):
And then I'm thinking about the Houston oiler powder blue
with the oil rig on the helmet.

Speaker 4 (01:42:41):
Oh, I love that.

Speaker 2 (01:42:43):
And then the oh my gosh, that was on my list.

Speaker 5 (01:42:45):
Cincinnati Bengals when they had the tiger helmet. I like
the tiger stripes on the helmet. I like when they
did that. And then if they get way back Montreal
expos their uniforms, they're just so good. And then and
I really really like the La Kings hockey when they
put when they hit the black ones, when.

Speaker 2 (01:43:06):
They shifted from the purple and gold and they went
to the silver and black. Right, yeah, just got great.
I love those. So those are my my three with
extra okay. I my number one, number one, and I
don't know any other way to put it. But the

(01:43:27):
Raiders AFL throwback jerseys. They're they're they're white and they've
got silver numbers with black outline, and the helmet is
a little different looking. It's the typical Raiders shield, only
it has like Raiders in white and a little different
kind of color scheme on the Pirate er. Now they

(01:43:50):
don't wear these very much. Kind of pisses me off.
Not gonna lie to you, because there are now. I
think they always lose in it, so maybe that's one
of the reason why. But I love and I think
the last time they wore it was two thousand and nine.
But I am a I'm a fan. I'm a fan
of them. You guys know. I don't know if we've

(01:44:12):
talked about this on the show or not, but I
play Madden a lot, but not the most recent Madden
because I'm a poor so I play like Madden twenty.
I play Madden twenty and it's funny because there's no
longer access to the servers, so it's like, yeah, it's
just it's Xbox one. I mean, listen, there's a reason

(01:44:35):
why I'm working overnights on the weekend, all right, And
I always use those jerseys they're the best. They're the
best because I'm still playing Madden twenty with Patrick Mahomes
on the cover, and they just shut down my franchise,
which had won forty two straight titles. I don't know
what happened, but here we are, so give me the
give me the Raiders AFL throwback jerseys. Now this one's

(01:44:59):
a little bit out of left field when I was
in college. Now we're going back with years that started
with the one and a nine before them, my truck
got broken into. Now, it's not the hardest thing to
break into a truck where everything was hit under a
tunnel cover, but tis is what it is. And in
the back of said truck was my favorite jersey I

(01:45:21):
ever owned. Breed you know what. That jersey was not
even a team I'm a fan of, but I just
love the jersey. It was the nineteen ninety three Anaheim
Mighty Ducks jersey. WHOA have you seen these things before?

Speaker 3 (01:45:35):
Are they orange?

Speaker 2 (01:45:37):
They are purple ish purple. It's the very first jerseys
the Ducks ever had. Now again, I can't sit here
and tell you that I am an Anaheim Mighty Ducks fan,
nor did I ever really pay too much attention to them.
But it's got the duck they called the Mighty Ducks

(01:45:58):
pro player jersey. It's got the duck with the like
the Mike Myers the goalie mask, the mask, and it.

Speaker 4 (01:46:04):
Has these at the bottom of the strike exactly. Okay,
I'm looking at it.

Speaker 2 (01:46:07):
Love it, love it, great, great color. Yep. Yeah. And
then I had a tie for number three. All right.
One of them is an ode to my childhood and
the other is kind of a tip of the cap
to my now, to my childhood. I loved whenever the
Cardinals would wear and they don't do it as much now,

(01:46:31):
but when they would wear the baby blue uniforms, it's like,
I just I see Keith Hernandez at first, Tommy Hurt second,
Ozzie Smith at short, Ken Obrick Fell at third, Bruce
Souter coming in to close the game down with Darryl
Porter behind the plate, maybe David Green and left, Willie
McGee and center, and Lonnie Smith and right. You know,
I just I remember, like nineteen eighty two like it

(01:46:54):
was yesterday when they put those baby blues on. It's awesome.
And I'm not even as big of a Cardinals fan
today as I was I'm more of a Dodgers fan,
now right, that's my team, but that's right up there.
But I am as big of a fan as you
could ever have. Of the Oklahoma Sooner road white football uniforms.

(01:47:16):
Oh my gosh, as the kids would say, they're icy.
So give me. I think I gave four there on breeze.
Three give me the Raiders throwback afl Unis, the Anaheim
Mighty Ducks original jerseys. They call them sweaters in hockey, right,

(01:47:36):
the Oklahoma Sooner rode football all whites, and the old
school Saint Louis Cardinal baby blues.

Speaker 4 (01:47:43):
I never knew the Cardinals had baby blue jerseys ever,
google it up. I'm looking at it, and it like
shocks me. I had no idea.

Speaker 5 (01:47:51):
Yeah, those Cup games with those when they play the Cardinals.

Speaker 2 (01:47:56):
They used to wear. By the way, I said, Bruce Sooner,
you could also go with Walking and Dow Harr. And
if you would rather have Vince Coleman and center as
opposed to Willie McGee, I'll allow it. I think McGee
was more of a left fielder anyway. Yeahdie, that's my
childhood right there. And you know what, the moment you
realize you're old. Is whenever a team breaks out a

(01:48:20):
throwback uniform from whenever you watched them as a kid, It's.

Speaker 12 (01:48:24):
Like, and the.

Speaker 2 (01:48:26):
The Cardinals will be breaking out their throwback blue jerseys.
You're like, throwback? How can that be possible? I'm too
go so I out of curiosity? What did you make
of the magic uniforms?

Speaker 10 (01:48:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:48:42):
I thought they were fine.

Speaker 2 (01:48:43):
Oh that's not a big self.

Speaker 3 (01:48:45):
Yeah, I mean I don't know. I thought they were
good the way they were, Like, I didn't really I didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:48:50):
Really see the need for the change. To me, I
thought they were, but there was actually something I did Like,
I guess they're doing something with their warm ups, right,
kind of throwing it back to like the Penny and shack.

Speaker 2 (01:49:04):
Yes, yeah, so that was cool.

Speaker 6 (01:49:06):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (01:49:07):
Those are pretty fire. I gotta admit, was there anything
that came close to making your list that just missed out?

Speaker 4 (01:49:13):
So the forty nine ers, the just the red jersey,
I love gold pants. I guess that's what I'm thinking.
I just like the forty nine ers, Yeah, the red
top with the gold pants. And then I just like
like the Cubs jerseys. I just like just those those base.

Speaker 2 (01:49:31):
You know what I feel like has been a big
miss is some of the super throwbacks that the NFL
has tried. Where they put the Steelers that had the
striped jerseys. I didn't like those. I like them like
they had the horizontal stripes on them. I don't think
they've worn him in quite a while. I mean, they
might have only worn him once.

Speaker 4 (01:49:50):
What about the creamsicles with the bucks? Okay, I'm down, Okay,
I'm gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:49:56):
Say I like that too.

Speaker 4 (01:49:57):
I think that's kind of the only throwback I can
think of where I was like, hey, that's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (01:50:01):
Crazy put my guy Baker Mayfield and those what's that? Mark,
I'm sorry?

Speaker 5 (01:50:04):
Creamsickle was great?

Speaker 2 (01:50:05):
Yeah, I was great. Now listen. It was a bad
era of football. See that's the thing. And I'm I
was so mad at you in a loving way, Mark,
that you picked the Oilers because those oiler uniforms love
You Blue were amazing. Well, I see Earl Campbell running.

Speaker 5 (01:50:24):
They couldn't grab his gigantic thighs or they used to
rip off his jersey because they couldn't bring him down
because he was a truck.

Speaker 2 (01:50:31):
Yeah, I used to. I mean I'm a Raiders fan
through and through, but I used to always love the
Houston Oilers whenever I was a kid, And for some reason,
I always thought I would get these football cards whenever
I was a little I used to collect cards kids.
It's this crazy thing we used to do. And I
thought it was gonna be my retirement fund, but it
is not. And I always had this football card of

(01:50:54):
Bucky Richardson and Cody Carlson, and for some reason, I
was convinced that they were the next great quarterback in
the NFL. Don't know why, don't know why. And they
both played for the Oilers. Was like, let's go love
your blue. I loved. I loved the Oilers uniforms. Man,
they were awesome. Bum Phillips, Jack Party's party time you

(01:51:16):
had what Warren Moon, Ernest Gibbons. They were a freak
in a good way of course. Boy. And then college football,
you know, you started getting into some of the like
the Penn State uniforms are simple but amazing, right, I mean, yeah,
Alabama's the same. There's nothing wild about it. You know.

(01:51:39):
There was a year Matt Stafford's i want to say,
final year at Georgia that they did a blackout at
in in Athens and they had the black Georgia uniforms.
Those were pretty awesome. Now they lost, they got beat
by Julio Jones in Alabama, but those were sick. You

(01:52:01):
could probably do this again all in North Carolina Basketballah
like him, Sam.

Speaker 5 (01:52:09):
That the Houston Rockets pinstripes when they went back to back.

Speaker 2 (01:52:13):
Those so good. Nice so U c l A the
UCLA basketball uniforms. I love all things whenever I was
a kid. Everything's going back to my childhood today. Whenever
I was a kid, I loved the UCLA basketball right.
I love Don McClain, Tracy Murray, Jerald Madkins, Tys Edney,
I mean that whole era. Toby Bailey came on a
little bit later. Love that team, and the UCLA unis

(01:52:36):
were sharp in my world.

Speaker 5 (01:52:37):
Mark the Blackhawks red home jerseys are really great.

Speaker 2 (01:52:41):
Well see, I can't go there as a Blues guy,
all right. I mean you're gonna have we can have
all the fun we want. But once you start talking
about the greatness of the black Hawk jerseys, that's right blowing.
WHOA hold on here just a bit, I understand h
Clemente era Pirates uniform that's from Eddie on Twitter. Oh yeah,
good yeah, good Mike the Leprechaun. Uh the Boston Bruins. Okay,

(01:53:05):
that's good. That's good, by the way, Michael Leprecaun getting
in on the phones and on Twitter tonight. What a time?
What a time? All right, we got a break when
we come back. I got the plank parlay, I got
what I hope is a simple explanation of the settlement
that took place and finally passed tonight. And we'll get
you ready for the fellows right here on Fox Sports Radio.

(01:53:26):
You know what we swung and missed on tonight, Brie
is all of the great overheight from OTAs from nerds
looking at completion percentage from the Browns camp, which is
dumb to uh. I guess Sam Darnold had a bad practice.

(01:53:47):
And one of the Seattle guys asked Mike McDonald if
there was a quarterback battle. He answered him like Jalen
Brunson did, like, wait, what are you talking about? Wait?
Quit abusing the privilege of os Cleveland media. What are
we doing right here? Are you giving completion percentages on
swing passes?

Speaker 10 (01:54:06):
Like?

Speaker 2 (01:54:06):
What are we doing? Stop? Craig rights my list for tonight.
Number one Jerseys, Michigan Wolverine's number two Pittsburgh Steelers in
the seventies or eighties, number three Detroit Lions in the
Honolulu blue and silver silver numbers, white trim honorable mention
the Houston Oilers. Not a battle list. I feel like

(01:54:29):
any of the traditional college football jerseys briefit here right, Oh, Michigan,
Ohio State, even though I'm not usc usc fits Notre Dame,
Notre Dame. I'll tell you what, I love the Notre
Dame green uniforms. When they warm, I thought those were awesome.
I'm a sucker for a team that doesn't wear a

(01:54:50):
lot of alternate jerseys. When they wear one and it pops,
and I thought that really really did with with Notre name. Yeah,
thank you, old man.

Speaker 4 (01:55:01):
I look at that and I think of I just
think of Oregon, like I feel like I'm straight in
organ like that. I will just looking at it automatically.

Speaker 2 (01:55:09):
I say this very quietly, but Oklahoma State had some
helmets one year that were orange and had pistol peed
on him. I'm like, it was pretty cool. Yeah, I know,
I gotta be careful speaking of college sports here real quick.
Before we get to the plank parlay, and before the
Fellas takeover tonight was a signature night in the history
of college sports. The NCAA as we know it has

(01:55:32):
changed forever now. This process has been one that has
been ongoing for a while, but now we have the
College Sports Commission and we even have a director slash
president of it, and the House Settlement has finally passed,
which means we now have a salary cap in sports.

(01:55:52):
Each school can choose the percentage of this money and
what percentage of that money goes to each sport. It's
about twenty point five million dollars now. As time progresses,
that number will increase with TV deals and wright steals
and things of that nature. Could be up to thirty
million by the year twenty thirty. But as it is

(01:56:13):
right now, it's twenty point five million. And the battle
is what percentage are you going to give to what sports?
Some are saying right now like eighty percent to football,
ten percent to men's hoops, and then maybe like five
percent to women's basketball, and then everything else is spread out.
Other places will be different. You might have a place
like Yukon that's gonna give a much higher percentage to

(01:56:36):
women's basketball than most other places will Oklahoma, you'll have
a higher percentage to softball than anywhere else. Well, just
everywhere is going to be a little bit different. But
here's the thing, the biggest, most challenging and interesting part
of all of this is that it's an attempt to
stop the just straight up pay for play. But that

(01:56:57):
we mean, you know, tradition nil and what it was
supposed to be immediately became all right, what do you need?
You need two million to come here? All right? You
got two million. Look at the Bryce Underwood deal, twelve
million dollars. This is supposed to curb that. And before
you say it can't work, it's never gonna happen. I

(01:57:18):
tell you you know. It's hard to compare things with
college to the NFL. But the NFL was out of
control with its rookie contracts, and what do they do.
They put in a wage scale and it worked. It worked.
Now you can have guys like Rob Bark and others
who fight about if it's unfair and if people want
to fight it, but they don't because you get that

(01:57:38):
money on the back end, you prove that you can
play in the NFL, you're gonna get paid. You just
don't get thirty million dollars because you got drafted number
one overall. And college football, specifically in college basketball, is
trying to get away from that too, because now it's
in a world where you're getting paid just to come
to campus, and guys are even getting paid for official visits.

(01:57:59):
Now it's crazy. So if you have an NIL deal
of six hundred dollars or more, it has to go
through what's called the NIL clearinghouse, NIL GO ANDIL and
the people that are involved in this said that seventy

(01:58:20):
percent of the past deals would be denied that it
came through the Nile partners. Now, if you were through
a public company, like let's say, hypothetically Breeze a standout
college basketball player and she's got a deal with Chevy
Well Boom, that's going to get approved. Right, But the

(01:58:43):
pay for play is over, we think, and welcome to
the rev share era, where basically, after being told for
one hundred years that you can't pay student athletes, now
schools can directly pay student athletes. And the whole problem is, all, right,

(01:59:03):
will we get away from this world of Hey, Nijah Kennedy,
you just signed a million dollar deal through the matat
Or Club, not now, but in the future. Oh, hey,
they just paid I'm gonna use Bryce Underwood again. They
just paid him twenty million dollars to come to school here,
twelve million. Whatever it is, that's the goal. You're supposed
to be able to get away from it. They'll be lawsuits,
they'll be trials, they'll be fights, but in the end,

(01:59:25):
I'm intrigued. It's a step and the whole goal is
you want to stay out of court. Now, we don't
have time to play the whole intro, but Plank's parlay
tonight is a very simple one. I'm taking the Pacers
plus nine and a half on Sunday night. I'm gonna
take the thunder money line with that and give me
Miles Turner over thirteen and a half, very simple, Miles

(01:59:49):
Turner over thirteen and a half points thunder money line
and then the Pacers plus nine and a half. I
think we're on the verge of a fun NBA Finals,
And if you allow yourself to not be a condescending
a whole whatever comes in the market, I think you're
gonna have a blast with it. I'm looking at you,
Arnie Spanier, I'm looking at you. Fellas are coming up
next for Bree and Mark, I'm Chris Blank. You' all

(02:00:11):
have a great weekend. I'm back Sunday night at ten
with Arnie on Fox Sports Radio.
