Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Here we go.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
Here we go on a Friday night into a Saturday morning,
our a Saturday morning, into a little bit of a
later Saturday morning wherever or whatever you're listening, of course,
available on podcast as well to when we're done. Welcome
in to the Plank Show right here on Fox Sports Radio.

(00:25):
The crew is here. Breeze back, Marks back. What do
you say, bree We got help with us tonight. Brandon's
training this evening.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
Yes, Roy, We're excited. Brandon Deutsch in the house.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
All right, Brandon's here and Steve de Sager will have
our updates. How about to Sager on Second Mike during
the Jason and Mike Show. Is awesome. Have you ever
been a part of a game that has been delayed
for any reason other than like rain or whitening? Because
the story about the Canadian Football League game tonight that

(00:58):
was delayed and eventually postponed because of smoke. Now, we've
had some issues with wildfires in the past, but I
was new to me at least delaying it. So you'll
hear Steve on update to the top of every hour tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Oh what a show I think we have tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
I'm just gonna say the keyword to hear is think,
because I have the kind of pull back the curtain
here a little bit break down the fourth wall, I
think is the same. We plan a show, you know,
we sit down and we'll plan a show, and we'll
have topics that we want to get into. I do
a show daily during the week.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Granted that show daily during the week has been living, eating,
and breathing college football and the Score Act, the retirement
of Joke casigly on things of that nature that maybe
sometimes on a national scale.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Don't hit as hard as they do locally.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
But even in that, we have different topics and different
angles we want to tackle, and I have this whole
show planned for it tonight. Talk a little bit about
the Bears with the extension that took place with Ryan
pull I find that to be a very similar conversation
tonight to the one that we had last week with
the Steelers and Omar Khan. Last week omore Khan signed
his extension. We spent is it fair to say, Bree

(02:12):
the better part of I don't know, maybe close to
two hours of our three hours show last week, debating
and discussing and taking your calls in the future of
the Steelers right now tonight? Can we shift that to
the Bears. I think it's only fitting that we do,
with the extension for Ryan Poles and now one of
the more fascinating teams in this offseason with Ben Johnson
coming in the Chicago Bears.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
I think it's a big topic.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
I agree with what Jason just said and I had
down here tonight talk about the Cowboys. Everyone's been very
chatty about the Cowboys. Dak Prescott especially, feel like he's healthy,
has got a couple of new toys on offense. Could
Dallas be quote unquote back to where they need to be?
I think that's a worthy topic to tackle tonight. The Dodgers.

(02:56):
The Doyers have now lost seven straight games seven, Brie,
Are you pushing the panic button yet for the Dodgers? No, No, okay,
that's seven. Their lead in the West, though, is still
four games, which is pretty fascinating, right. You lose seventh
straight and you still have a four game lead. So
I want to talk Breeze not pushing the panic button.

(03:16):
I mean, I am I pushed the panic button now?
Well after a four game losing streak, I'm ready to
freak out. And I think there's different levels of the
panic button. Right there is the oh my gosh, what's
going on here, which is kind of my level of panic.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
By no means is it fire? Everybody not quite that yet.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Now, if we get to nine, let's have that conversation,
especially since it's the Giants. I'm kidding, but we'll talk
some Dodgers baseball later in the Red Sox on the
flip side of that.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
And now, what eight in a row?

Speaker 3 (03:44):
You got a new star in Major League Baseball and
cal Raley who had two more home runs tonight.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
You've got a.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Dude that's pitched in like five games that's going to
the All Star Game. And you know we're reaching that.
We're reaching that period of the sports calendar where we
fix baseball. I always refer to the All Star breaks.
NBA does this in season. Baseball does it in season.
If there was maybe an elevated care about hockey, we'd

(04:11):
probably do it. Though this year, hockey had the brilliant
idea to do the tournament that took place and was outstanding.
We all loved it. But it's officially fixed Baseball week
that's coming up with the All Star game right where
you have that what used to be just a three
day break, and what does everybody do? They fixed the game? Oh,
here's what here's what I think needs to happen. Here's

(04:33):
what needs to fix baseball when surprisingly and we'll get
to it later on the program. The numbers and the
trends for baseball are actually on a pretty incredible upward
tick right now. So all these topics, I just laid
them all out, and then I sat down and I
read the Lebron James story that Brian win Horse wrote
with Ramona Shelburne, and I found it to be and

(04:57):
I think, do you know Breed when this dropped? Because
I don't remember seeing it earlier today, and if if
it had been out there, I just completely missed it.
It's on ESPN dot com. Has this been out for
a bit and I just missed it? Or did it
just drop today?

Speaker 4 (05:09):
I think it was like around noon. Oh okay, okay,
one is.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
So we're not talking about something that's been out for
like day.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
No, no, no, today was the day.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
So I sit down, I'm listening to Jason like I
always do, and listening to the Segar and I just
become infatuated with this story and I can't, And I
guess maybe I'm kind of apologizing because I feel like
we all fall into the trap where dude, more Lebron.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Yeah, yeah, I'm just telling you, more Lebron.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
What's the last thing I want to see whenever I
turn on any of the debate shows in the middle
of July.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Are we Lebron out yet?

Speaker 3 (05:52):
But then I see a story like this, and it's
like the line and dumb and dumber, you going.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Poor right back in? It just sucks me right back in.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
So let me let me cliff note this for you,
and then I want to take your calls on it,
as well as any of the bevy of topics that
we've laid out at eight seven, seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six six three sixty nine.
This is a fascinating piece on the Lakers transition from
one star to another.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
But in that same vein what.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Appears to be a more delicate, tenuous situation.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Then maybe we could even realize.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
And there's just this part of me that as soon
as I saw the story and the headline says Lebron
James to Luka Dancic inside the most delicate superstar transition
in NBA history.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
There's there's a part.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Of me that whenever I see that, I think to myself,
why why does it have to be so delicate? Because
Lebron is forty. You just don't play past forty very
often in this league. It's retirement time, it's time to
move on now. In fairness, Lebron is still playing at

(07:10):
a very elite level. He is still a rock star,
and it doesn't seem as if it's diminishing too terribly much.
But also, again, let me go back to the things
that are undefeated in life, and father time is one
of those. He is forty, so I don't understand why
it needs to be so delicate. But then again, you

(07:31):
also have to pause and realize who we're dealing with
in Lebron James, And you know, I found two things
that really jumped out. Two things that really jumped out.
One of those is how everyone viewed the Rich Paul
statement that was sent out after he opted in quote.

(07:53):
We understand the difficulty in winning now while preparing for
the future. We do want to have evaluate what's best
for Lebron at this stage in his life. He wants
to make every season he has left count and the
Lakers understand that, are supportive and want what's best for him.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
So that that was.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
What last week two weeks ago, Now that was June thirtieth,
whenever he picked up the option. Heck's July eleventh. What
I'm gonna talking. We're going to roll into the twelfth
on the West coast here tonight, so you know what
you're looking at. A story that set the sports world
on its ear whenever that took place just a couple
weeks ago, and it was one that set all kinds

(08:38):
of debates. What was interesting in Brian Windhorse and Remo
Shelburne's reporting is the way that the league looked at it.
In the eyes of one Eastern Conference official executive, whatever
term you want to use, it was an elaborate pout
because Lebron didn't get a new deal off for two

(09:00):
from the Lakers. In others, it set off a warning
that Lebron wanted out and had the Golden State Warrior
scurring to see if there was a deal potentially to
be made. And then there were others who just viewed
it as simply pressure on the Lakers' front office to
truly go all in and abandon their long term building plan.

(09:23):
Now that was the thing that kind of jumped out
to me real quick, what is the long term Lakers
building plan? I have not seen it. You went and
you got Luca, and now you just continue to put
pieces around and while swinging and missing on Brook Lopez, whom,
according to this the unknown around Lebron is why he

(09:46):
chose the Clippers. Now, I kind of think that's BS,
to be honest with you. I mean, if you look
at how Sinners have performed, let's just to say hypothetically
that Lebron isn't in the plans and it's.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Luca, Brooke or whoever it is that.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Floated this buddy, You're gonna get yours with Luca as
your point guard. It's just it's the reality of a
big man playing with this dude. He's gonna feed you
and you're gonna score. Now, the idea in this article
that Brooke Lopez chose the Clippers because he was tired
of waiting around on what James future looks like at
that seemed.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
To me to be a little bit bs in, a
little bit shady.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
But I also kind of pulled back from it and
realize he's not like the Lakers, outside of the Luka
Danchetz trade, have really been home run hitters when it
comes to some of these moves. Dockett, the Luca trade
was amazing, but they've they've dropped the ball on Finny,
who they did not re sign. They've been unable to

(10:47):
for some reason, and I still don't know why they
were unable to finalize the Mark Williams trade.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
So it's it's it's.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Curious to me to kind of see whether or not
you could truly a Brook Lopez. I didn't see Lebron
there and the future was worried about the way this
was dragging out, so he decided to sign the Clippers.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
But here here is what really to me.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Here's what was really to me, the kind of highlights
of this article, the reasons that stand out why this
is now Luca's team and not Lebron's, which I truly
think pulling back.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
There's kind of some Captain Avis things here. Right.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
Dude's forty, Dude, it's gonna be forty one when the
season tips off.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
It's it. He's old for basketball, young in life, old
in basketball. Number one. They didn't sign him to an
extension right captain.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Obvious right number two, they didn't give him significant notice
that they were trading Anthony Davis for Dancic, which James
allegedly and reportedly forgave because of his respect for Luca
and understanding the franchise is reasoning for making the trade
and keeping it under wraps Three, rapa Linka tried to

(12:07):
get a big man and Mark Williams an athletic young
sinner when both Anthony Davis and Lebron James for years
have been asking the franchise to acquire a true sinner. Okay,
just jump in there. I can understand that. Right.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
You're sitting around.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
And you've been saying, we need a big We need
a big if this offense is gonna work, we need
a big. If we're gonna be able to do what
we're able to do, we need a big. And they
don't do it, or they can't do it. Are the
guys they bring in? It doesn't work, And then all
of a sudden you get Luca and you go out
and you make a move for one. It's like WHOA, well, good,
but what took you so long? I can understand that
frustration I had went Number designed four and four. When

(12:46):
the Bus family agree to sell the majority stake in
the franchise, Doncic was given heads up and posted a
congratulatory message on social media. Lebron James was not given
the same notice and did not publicly acknowledge it afterwards.
So there's there were four things right there that obviously

(13:10):
were signals to Lebron James that he's not the dude anymore.
Lebron responded with being a little petty when asked whether
having to play against more physical players affected him after
the Luca trade quote, no comment. Remember, he said, I

(13:31):
never say that because my guy eighty said what he
needed and he was gone the following week after picking
up his player option and issuing the statement that was
sent all around the league. James then fanned the flames
by going to Cleveland right series of social media posts
that referenced his time with his hometown Calves, and of

(13:55):
course he had the hat that said welcome home. Said
oh no, I'm supporting my guy Paul Rivera. But then
you kind of step back and you're like, really, nothing,
nothing that Lebron does is by chance. It's all nothing
is coincidence. It's all calculated and you know, it's just

(14:17):
it's almost as if it was a little bit of Okay,
you guys aren't gonna extend me, You're gonna look at
me as an expiring contract. Is my home add into it, right,
James has been building is what ESPN here referred to
as his forever home over the last five years, which
apparently took him three years just to get all the permits.

(14:39):
Then came the trade for Doncics, the sale to Walter,
and the serious events that clearly indicated the Lakers we're
prioritizing someone else's future. I'll just say, I understand Lebron's
never been in a situation like that and this, and
I get it that he is always been in control

(15:01):
of his own destiny.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
He has used his power wisely, I guess you can.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Say, but I would think it's just me when you
look at the future and realize, oh, probably not going
to be part of this future. As much as I
would like to be, given heads up, you got paid
a lot of money to be a Laker, and you've
had pretty good success, and by god, they have tried
to put pieces around you.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Tried.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
The move for Luca is one of the more brilliant
moves I think for the future of the Lakers that
we've seen now. Obviously, the first act, which was very
much partial, was them getting knocked out in the first
out of the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves. But I
guess I don't understand why you would need to feel
this kind of frustration to disappointment when you can see

(15:53):
the end. Do you just is it a matter of
the Lakers just letting him know are at the very
least offering him an extension. I mean, he's making fifty
two million dollars this year, for goodness sakes, And I
know money is in everything, and Lebron's already made generational
wealth times too. But this story and there, and there's
all the cliff notes. You don't have to read it,

(16:13):
you know everything that's in and out. Sorry Brian Wenthorz,
Sorry Ramona Shelburne. But I'm just saying that's that's the
guts of it, and I think you could probably I
probably could have saved ourselves maybe what eight minutes in
that first segment by simply saying this sounds to me
a lot like a guy who got his feelings hurt
and he's gonna show you by some of the passive

(16:34):
aggressive things that he does. Has Lebron earned that opportunity
absolutely right when he came to Lakers, LA was a disaster.
They weren't going to playoffs. They were disappointment, and two
years after he gets here, they won a title. Regardless
of how much you guys want to make fun of it,
because it's in the bubble that that banner ain't coming down.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
So where do we stand on this?

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine ninety six six three six. There's a couple lines
open if you want to jump in. Yes, it's a
little bit of Lebron talk, a lot a bit of
Lebron talk off the top hat and't planned it. But
when I saw this story, I thought, okay, a public
acknowledgment of hurt feelings, and from a Laker's perspective, I

(17:16):
think you have to do this. Los Angeles learned a lesson.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
May you rest in peace. A great Kobe Bryant.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
They kept his career going right, They kept extending him
and probably long beyond, they were able to put competitive
pieces around him. And when Kobe wasn't the guy, they've
learned from that, and now you've got an opportunity with
Luca to build around him, and maybe.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
It is going to be a hindrance.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
I felt like after reading this, I felt like it
was either Okay, this is the moment where two sides
come together and they hash it out, or this is
that moment where La sees all of this, Lebron sees
all of this, and they're like, let's just go our
separate ways. It's easier to break up. It's like whatever
they say, Hey, can I go through your phone and

(18:00):
go through your phone? And you see something like what's
what's this? And then you sit around and you find
about it forever. You don't ever hatch it out. You
just go your separate ways, not free, like that's ever
happened to me. But at eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven seven nine ninety six six three
sixty nine, is this the evidence that the Lakers sea
on Lebron's phone where they're like, all right, man, we
gotta go.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Our separate ways.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Enough so Blank show, We're rolling through a Friday night
into a Saturday morning, get your calls coming up.

Speaker 2 (18:26):

It's me three time pro bowler Levarrington and I couldn't
be more excited to announce a podcast called Up on Game?

Speaker 2 (18:53):
What is Up on Game?

Speaker 6 (18:54):
You add along with my fellow pro bowler TJ. Huschman
Zada and Super Bowl champion Yep, that's right, Plexico Birds.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
You can only name a show with that type of
talent on it. Up on Game.

Speaker 6 (19:07):

Lebar Arrington, TJ. Houschman Zada, and Plexico Birds on the

Speaker 3 (19:26):
So, you know, Bri, I do have to ask out
of curiosity with Brandon sitting in, is this you trying
to get out of doing the overnight show?

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Is that?

Speaker 3 (19:35):
Are you training so you don't have to be up
at this ungodly hour of night?

Speaker 7 (19:39):
You know, it's super funny. It's kind of funny. I'm
actually trying to kind of switch my schedule around just
to kind of let loose of my Saturday slack due
to Sunday commitments that are coming up, like football.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Like football, Yeah, like the National Football.

Speaker 4 (19:58):
The National Football League.

Speaker 7 (20:00):
I love to edit in the mornings. That's like my
favorite shift ever to do. If I just did that
for the rest of my life, I'd be happy.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
So yeah, do you mean the morning games and then go.

Speaker 4 (20:09):
Home or yeah, it's like nine to four.

Speaker 7 (20:12):
So like last football season, I did this shift eleven
to six, and then I did my Sunday morning and
that was like my favorite.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
It was the best weekend ever.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Wow, Well, do you have a good week?

Speaker 4 (20:24):
I did? Yes, how about you?

Speaker 3 (20:27):
It was okay, I'm getting I'm getting used to this.
I started working out this week.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Whoa yes?

Speaker 4 (20:32):
Did you start that? Think image of guy I started stuck.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
It's it's I don't know if it's a known thing,
but it's like a company here, yes, all right in Oklahoma.
Excuse me, I'm in Norman and it's uh. I mean
it's a great there's great people. They're all in great shape.
It sucks it's just the hardest thing ever. It's so
hard and Brandon my laugh this marked my laugh this.
I've never worked out with weights in my life. I

(20:55):
was a baseball guy in high school and they did
a funny thing is you go back to the late nineties,
they didn't want you working out with waits. It was
like no, no, no, you can't mess up your swing.
And I got into golf, It's like, no, I don't
work out with waits. So I just never did. And
my it was stretching and running. It's all I ever did.
And so when you haven't ever done it before and

(21:15):
then you decide to jump into it, the keyword here,
the keyword for the show tonight, Bree is pain.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Pain.

Speaker 8 (21:23):
Pain.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
You're sore, store, Yeah, But you know what's funny.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
What I've learned is as much as that soreness sucks,
if you get mobile and you can move those legs
a little bit, it feels better.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
You got to you gotta keep moving.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
So if you notice tonight, I'll probably be like, hey,
I'll be right back, because all I'm doing is walking
around the studio. Like if I coulda have a speaker,
i'd be able to talk to you because literally during
the breaks, I'm just all I'm.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
Gonna get up and walk around because it hurts so bad. Yeah,
it's funny.

Speaker 4 (21:52):
Were like kettlebells? Were you doing something?

Speaker 2 (21:54):
Everything? Everything? And then it's cool because, like I said,
it's a lot of things you do.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
The bench you need, the squad, the deadlift, you need
vertical bread not vertical What am I trying to say?
Oh the bitchah vertical bench press? I mean, all these
things we did. It was I'm learning and it was fun.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
Mark. How was your week? By the way, did you
start working out this week too?

Speaker 9 (22:18):
I swing a kettlebell? Oh sometime anyway, So it's something
to do. Like you said, you got to move around
because got to keep moving because the muscles are you know,
working and they're screaming after you're done, and they're you know,
hanging there.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
So here's the question that I had.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
They always when we get done with our workout, he'll say,
eat protein and carbs. Technically, isn't beer carbs? So can
I drink beer after my workout without work or no?

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Does that?

Speaker 7 (22:44):
I think light beer would be fine. It had something
hydration and a little bit of carbs. Okay, sure, I'm
always I'm always looking for loopholes like that, and it's
a you know, vegetable too, right.

Speaker 10 (22:54):
That's right, that's exactly loopholes.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Well, it's a little thing. It's only like two all right.
I'm not sitting here like pounding a six pack or anything. So, Brie,
I have a question for you on this story with
Lebron before we get to the phones and see you
guys lined up at eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
Did you take as much from it as I did?
And I guess everyone is really I don't want to
say triggered, but pointing out they're shocked that the Lakers

(23:21):
didn't give Lebron a heads up on the sale of
the team. That's that's the thing that a lot of
people are jumping on. It's like, whoa, they didn't even
give him a heads up on that? In fairness, I don't,
I mean, did he deal with the owner a lot?
I have no clue. And usually in these instances, Lebron
historically is like, I don't I don't need to know
about that. I don't want to know anything about that.

(23:41):
That's the GM. I don't want to And now all
of a sudden they don't tell him, and it's like,
how dare you? Was this story that big of a
deal to you?

Speaker 7 (23:47):
I just felt like it just shows like how much
his ego was totally bruised about through everything and not
being in communication and just not being acknowledged in that sense.
But like, I'm glad. I'm like, I'm actually like, I'm
going to kind of pro lakers right now. I'm like, oh,
you guys are actually separated, You're not falling for the
spell and being like they're kind of getting over it.
They're like, Okay, y'all, need you need to realize you're

(24:10):
not bigger than the brand, which I appreciate.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
And I keep going to that back to this.

Speaker 3 (24:16):
As great as he's been, dude's forty, dude's forty, you
just don't have that kind of success that he's having.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
This is the unicorn, this is the this is unique.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
So I didn't mean to set the whole show on
its ear, and second time we've used that analogy today,
but it just it really shocked me with kind of
the way that this thing played out.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Okay, let's go to the funds.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
I see our leadoff hitter is back this week is
Stephen Casey. Ready to jump into a spot back at
the top of the lineup.

Speaker 11 (24:50):
Oh you know, you know I'm here man with any
time that the breaking Lebron Tom Brady or the thunderpaining
like a billion dollar.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
How about that settle.

Speaker 11 (25:02):
Down there, the light up. I'm good.

Speaker 12 (25:04):
Listen.

Speaker 11 (25:05):
This is just classic Lebron undercover malcontent soap opera again.
He's he feels underappreciated. He's gonna he's gonna play the victim.
He wants to set the stage for him getting out
of there next year. They don't think they can get
rid of him. I don't think they can get rid
of this year. He'll he'll try. And the theme of
this week, the overarching theme was kind of like photohim

(25:29):
midlife crisis, dueling midlife crises with Tom Brady and Lebron James.
That uh that Lebron is trying to set the table.
He's working out in the Calves facility. I guess he's
going to engineer his way back to Cleeve went to
cast himself as the hero. You know, he's Lebron is

(25:52):
like Kevin Durant, except he doesn't have the good, the
courage to admit that he looks at all that online stuff,
you know, with burner account, you know. I mean it's
just sort of like Lebron and Tom Brady destroying their
legacies because of their their pseudo midlife.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
CRISI, well, you feel like you feel like this is
bad for Tom Brady to be linked with I always
say her last name, right, Sophia Vighera.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
You think this is bad?

Speaker 11 (26:18):
Well, no, no, I here, no one he he's trying
to rip off the Wrexham concept, I guess, and no
one knew who he was in Birmingham. I mean, it's
just been a hell week for him. I don't think
I don't think it's that bad that he was that
him he was with Sophia Bergara. But the problem is
is that she looks great, she's a little bit old,

(26:41):
and you're kind of well, I know, I'm just no
home with me here.

Speaker 13 (26:48):
I don't think that.

Speaker 11 (26:50):
I think that someone more appropriate for him and his
legacy is a little too crazy. She's a little too
crazy for him.

Speaker 12 (26:59):
This is a question.

Speaker 14 (27:00):
I guess I'll just you.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (27:04):
I can't even let you finish.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
Thanks. Oh did we just cut off Steve? I did?

Speaker 9 (27:11):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (27:13):
Now, I see I can't say that Sophia Regard is
crazy because I don't know. The characters that she plays
are hilarious. She's gorgeous, she's stunning. I was like this
and she's yeah, she's hilarious. Now everyone's denying it though,
aren't they?

Speaker 7 (27:28):
Yeah they are, But I mean I'm all for it.
I think it's a it's a power couple. I think
it'd be great.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
She's fifty three. Listen, Tom Brady's no spring chicken. He's
forty seven. That's six years better.

Speaker 4 (27:40):
For his legacy. I'm sorry, Like.

Speaker 7 (27:43):
So is he supposed to just like go still Livvy
Dunn from Paul Skeins, Like, because it's better for his
legacy because it's a hot young girl.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
What are we doing?

Speaker 4 (27:51):
Agism? Agism?

Speaker 3 (27:54):
And by the way, I guess when the rumors started
making the rounds, somebody said, maybe this is what I'm defending.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
Steve here just a bit, Steve my leadoff hitter.

Speaker 13 (28:06):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
Apparently there was a report that's that Brady had said
that Sophia Vigar is too old to date, and his
representatives reached out and said Tom never said that, nor
would he ever say anything like that.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
It is pure fiction.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
What you mean things can be fake in this world today,
no way shocked Shockghar in the NFL Legend were reportedly
spotted on a start listen. I saw the list of
people that were on that yacht. You can quit calling
it a star studded luxury yacht. There were no stars
on that yacht besides Brady and Zephia vigar as it

(28:48):
those those were the stars on that on that yacht.
Everyone else they listened on that lot. I never heard
it before in my life, Like who but what? I
will say this much though Brady over the last three
years now becomes a very small partial owner of the
Raiders and has been involved there. He has been linked

(29:09):
to a Kardashian Right, wasn't that? I think we're a
year removed from the Kardashian rumors.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Right?

Speaker 3 (29:17):
He had been linked to Oh gosh, who's them? Who's
the Sophia Well regard now? But Cidney Sweeney. He'd been
linked to Sydney Sweeney. I mean, dude, he's swinging for
the fences. I'll tell you that much, Steve. I think
we stand as a show, right, Brie officially in support
of this and see no problems.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
Right, absolutely not, no problems power couple, Power couple. I'm
all for it.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
Eric is in New York. Good morning, Eric, Welcome to
Fox Sports Radio. What's going on, Hey.

Speaker 12 (29:49):
Guys, how you've done tonight. It's a pleasure to speak.

Speaker 15 (29:51):
To you, guys, and I mean it.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Thanks Bud.

Speaker 12 (29:54):
Okay to shut off the conversation. I just want to
ask you guys a question. Okay, what type of gum
do I chew?

Speaker 2 (30:04):
What type of gum does Eric from New York chew?
Double man?

Speaker 8 (30:12):
No?

Speaker 2 (30:13):
What is it?

Speaker 14 (30:16):
You don't want to guess?

Speaker 2 (30:17):
There's my guess. I mean, what what is this? Are
you interviewing me? Or are you? Are you calling the
show to talk? I went with double.

Speaker 12 (30:25):
Yes, Okay, it's carefree, care free.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
I think I see where you're going on this, Eric,
carefree go.

Speaker 12 (30:33):
Also, I dated to Go in the past and she
loved rut Beard.

Speaker 3 (30:37):
She didn't take your guess why because it didn't have
alcohol in it? Because it tastes good, because it's awesome.

Speaker 13 (30:44):
No, because Nicholls A and w H.

Speaker 10 (30:50):
And we'll call your people.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Open Mike Night with Eric from New York. He's on
fire so far this evening.

Speaker 12 (30:58):
Okay, No, I say one last it before I hang up. Okay, okay,
what kind of jersey Padres jersey do I have in
my closet?

Speaker 3 (31:08):
What the type of Padres jersey do you have in
your closet?

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Right now?

Speaker 3 (31:12):
I can't think of anything funny, so I'll just go
within that. Is it a Kurt Bavakua jersey?

Speaker 12 (31:18):
No?

Speaker 2 (31:19):
What is.

Speaker 12 (31:21):
Fernando Tatista?

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Okay? Thanks?

Speaker 13 (31:25):
Eric?

Speaker 2 (31:26):
Was was? Was I supposed to do something with the
Fernando Batista line there? Or what I mean?

Speaker 3 (31:30):
Is there more to it? But we are off to
a roaring start on the phone. Yeah, I mean Eric
and his Now the second one line is pretty good.
NW wasn't too bad?

Speaker 2 (31:42):
All right?

Speaker 3 (31:43):
Colin and Alberta, Canada? Save me off the top here, Colin,
what's going on?

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Buddy?

Speaker 16 (31:46):
How are you hey? Chris? Thanks for having me on Tonate.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Thanks for checking in. Man.

Speaker 16 (31:52):
I'm kind of feeling like I'm on the spot because
I'm listening to you here and you're talking CFL and
I'm from Canada, and like, I got nothing for you
about the CFL.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
I was shocked by the the Saga report. Tonight I
get out to the studio. I've got Fox Sports Radio
bumping and the Sagas telling me about a smoke delay
in a game.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
Colin, I don't think i've ever heard of that before.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
I've heard of games getting canceled because of air quality,
but I've never heard of waiting it out until the
air quality might get better.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Y'all safe up there?

Speaker 16 (32:21):
Well, I'm up in northern Alberta, so I haven't had
smoke from probably about a month. But yeah, I launched
a little bit of it there. I don't watch CFL
at all. That's Bush League, don't. I don't care for
it at all. But yeah, that's kind of bizarre that
the air quality was so bad. It's been bad before.
I've seen where Yeah, outdoor events has been canceled, but yeah,
it's just kind of wild.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
That is insane, man, that is insane.

Speaker 3 (32:43):
Hey, I want to pose a question to you, Colin,
because we're going to get into the Bears later on
this evening.

Speaker 16 (32:50):
See, you know, I want to get into the Pittsburgh Steelers.
I'm a week behind, so if give me enough time, please, Yeah,
let's go.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Okay, do you feel okay?

Speaker 3 (32:58):
And I guess these both could fit in with each
other two teams obviously, the Bears history hasn't been quite
what the Steelers has been over the last decade. But
are those two franchises that you feel like are going
in the right direction? In other words, you see them
as teams that needed to extend their general manager.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
I think both fit together here.

Speaker 16 (33:16):
Yeah, I mean once the owner and you know, the
front officer. They're comfortable with those guys. They seem to be,
you know, going moving things are moving in direction that
they want. I see. The Bears is kind of at
the bottom. They're working the way up. They've got a
quarterback that they're comfortable with and they want to invest
in then figure out if he's going to make it
or not. And the Steelers it's just I don't know,

(33:39):
they're treading water. And that's why I wanted to ask you.
So you last week were talking about the Steelers, and
then I was listening to Jonas Knox and LeVar Arrington
because they were something on the Herd this week, and
LeVar Rington had some really interesting points. So it's what
I'm kind of want to ask and make some reference to.

(34:03):
Is like if Mike tom was starting to become like
amongst this generation's coaches, is one of the more overrated coaches.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
That's a great question, Colin. I appreciate the phone call.
I have a good one man most overrated coaches. Let's
pot of that for just a moment, because he does
have a super Bowl champion, all right, he does have
a super Bowl rings. He's been a super Bowl champion,
and it's it's hard to say that anyone that's won
a ring is overrated. That's a big deal to me.
Whenever you're talking about your resume that you're handing me,

(34:34):
it's all right, is this guy worthy of being either
a rock star or overrated? Or a yuts that those
are if you got a ring, it's kind of tough,
but overrated. Oh that's a tough one. Let's talk about
it next with Brie and Mark on Plank. It's a
Plank Show right here on Fox Sports Radio. All right,
welcome back into the program. It's the Plank Show here

(34:54):
on Fox Sports Radio eight seven, seven ninety nine. On
Fox eight seven seven nine nine six three sixty nine.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Jason B.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
Diamond checked in on the question that Colin had proposed.
Is Mike Tomlin overrated? Jason writes, he's never finished under
five hundred. I would say Mike Tomlin is close to underrated,
but it is a fun topic. All right, Where do
you stand Mike Tomlin, Brie. Do you hold Mike Tomlin, Brie.

(35:27):
Do you see him as overrated? Make sure you get
that correct grammar.

Speaker 7 (35:33):
I do not think Mike Tomlin is overrated. That is
my personal opinion, absolutely not. He has occolades his experience.
I think he is slightly on a warm seat, like
not a hot seat, but I.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
Think he's slightly on a warm seat. But I don't
think he's overrated.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
The lack of playoff success is what I think is
the most polarizing thing with Mike Tomlin. There's been some
in game decisions. I don't know, we're really to point
the finger on the quarterback decisions that Pittsburgh has made.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
That's, you know, is that.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
Tomlin being bullish and like a new guard in the
front office, which is why we talked so much about
Omar Khan last week and his extension. But I think
the quarterback decisions have been pretty interesting though.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
You know, it's fascinating. Can he Pickett?

Speaker 3 (36:23):
You draft in the first round and it just it
doesn't work in Pittsburgh for some reason, and then you realize, oh,
maybe Kenny Pickett's going to be a lifelong backup, which
you know, further magnifies why they might have decided to
pass on a Shadoor Sanders in the first.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
Round or the second round, or the third round, on
the fourth round.

Speaker 3 (36:40):
When everyone had earmarked Sanders to somehow end up in
Pittsburgh if he fell, which he did and that never materialized.
But last year you had both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
You shift to Wilson, who played really well, and then
you decide you don't want either one of them back
and completely reset the deck with Aaron Rodgers, which is

(37:00):
a move that everyone is jaw dropped and applauding.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
If it's three years ago, three.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
You know, two seasons with the Jets removed and now
into you know, his forties.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
He kind of questioned it a bit.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
I have a hard time calling any coach who has
had consistent success, like Mike Tomlin overrated, But if you're
if you're basing it on playoffs and the Super Bowl
been fair, you can call him that. He's the only
coach in NFL history to avoid a losing season in

(37:33):
his first fifteen years. The culture of success has continued.
I think it's a very subjective conversation, and it really
kind of means, like, for instance, if I'm trying to
make Steelers, I will pull the Arnie Spaniard love Arnie
if he's trying to make you mad. If he's trying
to make the Steeler fans mad, he'd sit here and

(37:53):
yell and scream that Tomlin is overrated. One of my
best friends is a Steeler fan, and I know she
very much bristles at any conversations about Mike Tomlin being overrated,
but also will point out they want to see some
playoff success and when you are not winning in the

(38:15):
playoffs because very problematic just getting there. And I'm a
thirsty football fan right now, right, I'm a thirsty NFL
fan my team and.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Brie, I think you're probably in this category. Two night.

Speaker 3 (38:26):
The Saints have had success a lot more recently than
the Raiders have. But I look at Mike Tomlin like,
damn man, I wish my team was going in the
playoffs every single year. So it's hard for me and
my true fandom to look at it and say overrated
because they're going to the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (38:42):
But I understand it.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
I get it, all right, let's see how many we
can fit in before the top of the hour. Andrew, Oh,
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Andrew hanging there. Andre, first up
in Massachusetts. He's been incredibly patient. Andre, what's going on?
Welcome to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 13 (38:56):
How you doing on?

Speaker 17 (38:57):
Thanks for taking the call. Listen, we got a developing
shit situation here in Los Angeles in terms of them
moving forward to the future as they well should be
with Luka Doncic, But now Lebron James he's been always batman.
Now he has to be Robin in early days. He's
not accepting that role well in my opinion, So we

(39:17):
see all the subliminals, you know, talking about going back
to Cleveland, all these things in social media. Know that
he keeps the thing spinning. Here's my view, Listen, Lebron.
Number one, LA is good for your business interest. You
want to be a media mogul. You're gonna do that
in LA. You're not doing that in Cleveland. Secondly, family's
there established, they like it there, okay. Third, are you

(39:39):
going to have a better chance to win a championship
with a young Luka Doncics twenty six, DeAndre eight and
twenty six in the place where you're familiar, or going
to these other teams, I e.

Speaker 11 (39:49):
Cleveland.

Speaker 17 (39:50):
They already got it going on with Kenny Atkinson my
New York Knicks before they did the craziness with Tibbs.
They already have a championship team established. The idea that
these teams are going to you aim when they already
have a good thing going that doesn't make sense. Never
mind the weather and location doesn't work its way out.
Here's the bottom line for me, Lebron, you are now, Robin,
and I know nobody wants to give up being a

(40:12):
power broker, especially when you've been all time great like Lebron.
But at some point in time you have to move.

Speaker 2 (40:20):
Oh no, oh no.

Speaker 3 (40:23):
The cell phone crapped out right near the and Andre
Grete at some point right near the edge, just right
under the wire. I think you made your point. Well,
there's a time in all of our lives in bench sports, right.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
I mean talking. I think you can talk for the
rest of.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
Your lives, but there's a time in sports where you
just aren't going to be that guy, and franchises have
to plan for you. They got to move forward. It
happens everywhere. Hell, the Niners moved on from Joe Montana.
The Packers moved on from Aaron Rodgers. It happens Lakers
have to plan because even with Lebron, it didn't seem
like they had a plan for the future.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
Listenin No Fox Sports Radio, Do.

Speaker 2 (41:00):
That a lot? Do that a lot.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
Welcome into hour two through the Night, all night here
on Fox Sports Radio. It's The Plank Show. Brianna Mero
taking your calls at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
Mark Ramsey running the program, and of course you can
always find us on Twitter at Fox Sports Radio. All right,
we'll reset the deck with your calls. In a second,

(41:23):
reminder to check out our YouTube channel. Tons of great
videos from many of our Fox Sports Radio shows. Just
search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube and you'll see a
whole bunch of video highlights from our program. And be
sure to subscribe so you always have instant access to
all of our Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube, and

(41:43):
real quick before we get to the phones. Big stories
we're talking about tonight, or at least carried most of
our Number one the.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
Sports elizab What am I saying?

Speaker 3 (41:52):
The ESPN article that came out tonight about Lebron James
and the Lakers and the transition from the Lebron era.

Speaker 2 (42:01):
To the Luca era.

Speaker 3 (42:02):
Now the Lakers, they've got to make sure they do
this right because Luca they don't have to sign long
term here. Can you imagine the free agent frenzy? If
that dude is a free agent next year, it'd be wild.
But I do think the Lakers are doing everything they
can to make sure that he knows, hey, you're a guy.

(42:23):
And it appears as if he and Lebron have an
okay relationship. Doesn't seem like there's like say, Kevin Durant
Russell Westbrook beef there when Tony Braxton broke up the
Mavericks back in the day. No, it seems like they
like each other, seems like they like to play together.
But it also it's a lot of words that basically
lay out to me, and I think I think Andre

(42:46):
hid it on the head to put a wrap an
hour one. It's Lebron's gotta Fielder's hurt a bit, and
it's fine. It's every right to have that, and just
not many of us have it play out in public
like this. I think all of us have a job
and it's hard to put real life things into the
sports world. But I try every now and then. But
all of us have a job where something happens in

(43:07):
our job and you get a little bit pod because
you didn't know. So how can I not know about
Johnny getting fired or Susie getting promoted or a company
being sold? And it's very it's very frustrating when you're
not on the end. Lebron James fair enough right has
earned that right to be in the know with the Lakers,

(43:27):
but the Lakers off that also have to start planning
for the future. It's still wild to me, and I
know that this is maybe the This is a fuel
in Breeze day whenever you see Lakers fans freaking out
about everything or oh my gosh, how about your how

(43:47):
about your boy on the herd laying out the DeAndre
Ayton is like this the next coming of Kream.

Speaker 2 (43:52):
Abdul Jabbar.

Speaker 4 (43:53):
I thought that was a joke. I thought it was
a no no, it was real.

Speaker 7 (43:57):
It was real real, no, no no, But I thought it
was NBA Sentil and like that was like hijacked by
like AI and like they made like a new account.

Speaker 4 (44:06):
There was no way I thought that was real and
it was real.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
Side note, the best running gag right now on NBA
sindal is the thirty dollars fine in the WNBA, please
don't stop that, and everyone get what it's only thirty bucks?

Speaker 2 (44:17):
Yeah, can you believe that they only find their players
thirty dollars? But back to the point the Lakers, they're
not a team that stinks.

Speaker 3 (44:25):
I mean, they finished third in the West last year,
and I get it that third to eighth was what
a half game, a game within each other. But I'm
gonna use my most proper English here. Ain't nobody catching
the thunder in that group right now? I mean, they
just locked up their three bigs, and barring injury, they're
gonna be a problem for a long time now. The

(44:47):
Nuggets made some nice moves this offseason. I like what
the Rockets have done. But he still got Luken lebron.
So this whole idea that suddenly the Lakers are gonna
fall off the map, don't. I don't get that. I
don't get it, But here we are. It's been a
big topic here tonight. Good call by Andre to wrap
up hour number one. The Bears extended their general manager

(45:11):
Ryan Poles today that rather lengthy extension and similar to
last week with Omar Khan, my question to kick off
hour or two and throughout the night tonight is this,
are the Bears on the right track? I mean, think
about the offseason moves they go and they get Ben Johnson,
and that's heck of a higher when you talk about

(45:33):
the coaches that everybody seem to want this offseason, and
you talk about the guys who were perceived to be
next Ben Johnson? Was that dude apparently too the apple
of one Tom Brady's eye whenever he was in Vegas,
some thought that that was the first choice. There hasn't
been a ton of massive personnel upgrades, but I mean,

(45:57):
what more do they.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
Need to do?

Speaker 3 (46:00):
They drafted Luther Burden, which I think is a hell
of a pick in the second round.

Speaker 2 (46:03):
This year.

Speaker 3 (46:04):
They used their first round pick on Colston Loveland, whom, Okay,
I maybe didn't have him as high as the Bears did,
but it seems as if they're working to continue to
put pieces around Kayleb Williams. And doesn't this all come
down to one thing, and one thing only the development
of Kayleb Williams. You get that, right boom, You've earned

(46:26):
your extension. It doesn't work. Ryan Poles will be out
looking for a job in a year or two. And also,
I guess appears that there's a good working relationship between
Poles and Ben Johnson. I mean, hell should be he
hired him. So Bears fans NFL gurus, do we consider
the Bears on the right track eight seven seven ninety

(46:49):
nine on Fox? It's a tough division, right, but you
do get a little secret sauce. Dan Campbell's right hand
man is your head coach. Dan Campbell's left hand man
is now the head coach of the Jets. I think
sometimes the hardest, you know, I do a show every
Sunday night with Arnie Spanier. He couldn't care less about

(47:09):
who your coach or coordinator is. It just somehow it's
irrelevant to him. I guess he missed that day of class.
But more teams, in colleges especially, but more NFL teams.
You've seen them dip when they're not able to replace
good coordinators. It happens a coordinator goes off take another job.
He never gets your next offensive a defensive coordinator higher

(47:31):
right boom, the bottom falls out, and especially especially so
true in the in the college as I saw it
happen last year here in Norman and Oklahoma, it happens
look at the look at the Florida State and run,
Bobby Bown run.

Speaker 2 (47:43):
What hurt them more.

Speaker 3 (47:44):
Than anything else, they were unable whenever they started losing
coaches like Mark Rickt and others to head coaching jobs,
they were unable to replace them with quality assistance. And
I just I'll be real curious to see if that
opens a door for a team like Chicago, because the
Lions aren't able to do what they've done in replacing
assistance in the past.

Speaker 2 (48:05):
So maybe you get a chance.

Speaker 3 (48:08):
To move up just by what subtraction addition by subtraction.
For the Bears, the lines might not be as good.
Maybe the Vikings aren't as good this year because JJ
McCarthy something else right, at least we think he is.
But he's also a rookie quarterback's coming off a major injury.
I've seen more highlights of one quarter against the Raiders' backups,

(48:30):
and everyone thought he was amazing. But they got a
chance to be better just because the division might not
be as good around them. And we'll still see with
the Packers, right kind of feel like the note for
the Jordan Love era has been amazing flashes, but lack
of consistency. So that's a lot on the NFC North.
But I do think it's kind of fascinating.

Speaker 2 (48:49):
Bree.

Speaker 3 (48:50):
Where do you see the Chicago Bears right now as
sending team.

Speaker 2 (48:55):
To watch out for?

Speaker 3 (48:56):
Or maybe kind of still stuck in that rut competitive division.
I'll just go with stuck in the rut in a
competitive decision division, because the bottom line, more than anything else,
all right, is they've They've got to win. They gotta win.
You gotta prove it worthy for Caleb Williams. You gotta

(49:18):
prove it worthy for this contract you just gave Ryan Poles.
You got to make sure that a new coach's ability
to lead is magnified. I just I don't know if
I'm buying into it right now, but I like I
like Caleb Williams.

Speaker 4 (49:30):
So what you're not buying into it?

Speaker 2 (49:31):
I'm not really Yeah, I'm not buying the Bears.

Speaker 4 (49:34):
Right at all.

Speaker 13 (49:36):
No.

Speaker 3 (49:36):
No, I've given all these reasons and all these examples
as to why they could be better, but I just
I don't I don't know if they got the right pieces.
Does that make sense? I love the draft pick of
Luther Burden love He's my top wide receiver. But I
just I don't know it. Just something seems off right
now in Chicago. Maybe it is Caleb Williams. Maybe it's

(49:58):
that vibe that he didn't want to be there. Maybe
it gets re engineered, maybe gets rekindled with Ben Johnson there,
or in it sparks it. I don't know if I'm
giving Ryan Poles that extension, just based on what's happened
over the last few years should be my point there
more than anything else. Not that I don't think they
can win some games. I don't know if i'd put
them as a playoff team right now, I'm probably what's
there over under at eight and a half right now,

(50:20):
I'd have a conversation about the over. But I don't
know if I'm ready to commit a five year deal
to Ryan Poles just based on what I've seen so far.

Speaker 2 (50:28):
That's kind of my point more than anything else.

Speaker 7 (50:30):
I mean, getting Ben Jonson there, I think has been huge.
That is huge in itself. I think just Caleb now
just kind of turning in the corner and.

Speaker 4 (50:39):
A little bit more, I'm like, yeah, well, I want
to be here.

Speaker 2 (50:42):
Sure, never know.

Speaker 3 (50:44):
Maybe you want to talk about some minds that can
change the Williams family. Those minds can change in a heartbeat.

Speaker 2 (50:51):
All right? Anyway, add the Bears.

Speaker 3 (50:54):
Add the extension for Ryan Poles into our conversation tonight
at eight seven seven ninety nine on FI. Okay, Andrew
is in Bakersfield. Let's kick it off on the phones
in an hour or two with Andrew.

Speaker 2 (51:06):
What's going on? Andrew? How are you?

Speaker 8 (51:08):
What's up? Chris?

Speaker 15 (51:08):
S'mor right? I have a comment on the Lakers. I
think that everyone needs to like wake up, kind of
wake up to the fact that Lebron is still the
man for the Lakers. And the reason why is because
he's still playing at a high level.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
Yeah, don't get me wrong, Okay, Can I just real quick, Andrew?

Speaker 2 (51:30):
I want you to finish your point.

Speaker 3 (51:31):
I don't disagree, but I think part of this is
because the bottom they didn't offer him anything more. They
kind of said, hey, this is gonna be the last year,
fifty two million dollars, thank you. I think that's why
there's all of this, not that they don't think he's good,
not that they don't think they can win with him.
It's just they have to move on as a franchise

(51:53):
because he's forty years old. And I think that's why
you see all of this right now, you know, what's
the end date, what's the expiration date on him? When
do you start seeing those skills eroad?

Speaker 2 (52:01):
Right?

Speaker 14 (52:02):
Right?

Speaker 15 (52:04):
And then secondly, I think, you know, the point of
playing the game is to win, and so I don't
really understand you know, I understand it, but I don't
really agree with it that you know, you put it
off till next it's for the future. All this stuff
or tanking or anything like that. You know, if you win,

(52:25):
you will attract players to your team. And that's all
I got.

Speaker 2 (52:29):
All right, mate, thanks for the phone call.

Speaker 3 (52:30):
And here here's the other thing that's so confuses me
with any Laker conversation. LA does not have a treasure
trove of draft picks. So whenever you hear something that
is along the lines of what Rich Paul said, which was, aw,

(52:51):
you know, you got to start, you got to start
planning for the future and balance that with being competitive. Now,
the Lakers own their first round pick in twenty six,
but that's it. They don't own their first their second
round pick, they don't own their first round or second
round pick in twenty seven. They've got their first round

(53:14):
pick in twenty eight, but they don't have their second
round pick. The Lakers don't have a second round pick
on the books until twenty thirty two. Not that that's
a big deal with the second round pick, but over
the next seven years, the Lakers only have their first
round pick let's see here in twenty six, in twenty eight,
in thirty and thirty one and thirty two, Like they

(53:35):
don't have their first round pick in twenty seven and
twenty nine, thirty three.

Speaker 2 (53:39):
I mean, it's just it's it's weird.

Speaker 3 (53:41):
So and by the way, there's no protections on those
first round picks, especially the twenty nine first round pick.

Speaker 2 (53:51):
That's going to Dallas.

Speaker 3 (53:53):
So I don't know how you could say, oh, you've
got a balanced building for the future, and it's like
you don't have a treasure drove of draft. You know,
it's it's gonna be okay if you go ahead and say, hey,
we've got to be in on winning now, You're not
gonna be able to listen.

Speaker 2 (54:08):
You're not gonna be able to pull off what the
thunder did.

Speaker 3 (54:11):
You're not gonna suddenly be able to look up and like, oh,
we got twenty picks over the next five years. It's
just not gonna happen. And I, like I've said many times,
it's not like every single draft pick the Thunder made
have been home runs. You know, we'll see pretty hot
streak recently, but you know there's been a lot of misses.
There's Polkashevski in there, right, There's there's some am I,
there's a Josh Giddy, who by the way, they did

(54:32):
turn into Alex Caruso. But I guess my point, more
than anything else, is if you're sitting here saying the
Lakers they gotta start thinking about building for the future
and building around Lebron. Don't building around Luke instead of Lebron.
Don't disagree, but what does that building process look like?
Lakers have never been patient with draft picks, never been

(54:52):
patient with draft picks. In fact, most of the time
the draft capitol is used for what to go on
and get a bigger star? All right, Jerome is Charleston.
He's always got a hot take for us. He's always
on fire. Despite it being three point fifteen in the morning,
and Charleston, what's going on Drum.

Speaker 2 (55:07):
How are you hello.

Speaker 13 (55:09):
My name is Drum. I live in Charleston. I don't
know anything because I live in Charlston, but I'll tell
you that the Lincoln, the La La Landers will never
tolerate a tank job like like Oklahoma City put up
with to get where they are right now. It'll never happen.

Speaker 2 (55:28):
Huh, Nor would Luca.

Speaker 13 (55:30):
No No, noting that. I mean what they're paying for
all seats, those front row streets and that place and that,
plus they're talking about they want a new building maybe
possibly dominant lions. Who know who knows where that's going
to go. You got the spector, Magic Johnson and all
these ex liquors are still around, you know, giving advice
and everything. They're never going to tolerate that. Man, ain't

(55:53):
no way.

Speaker 14 (55:54):
But by the way, I want.

Speaker 13 (55:55):
To talk about your Oklahoma tuners because I was doing
some homebark here over the last looking at some old
Billy TEMs video and reminded myself about Bud Wilkinson and
the fact that Oklahoma still holds the records but most
consecutive college football wins in the row, but your forty seven.
They all was looking at your schedule. You know you're

(56:17):
gonna have a saying sow about this National Championship thing
before doll said and done, because you got the fourth
top of schedule in the country and guess what you play.
You know who had got a little dance they call
the Red River Shootout, And plus I had some whispers

(56:38):
of it.

Speaker 14 (56:38):
Your coach.

Speaker 13 (56:39):
He's on the hot teams. You know better most you know,
because I hope his wife's doing a lot of better
because I heard the shoe was very sick and she
was valuing a major illness last year. I just hope
she chie's doing a lot better. But I'm gonna tell
you something about that Venable guy because he was here
in South Carolina pumpsling a lot when he was coaching him.
I looked at that guy's eyes a couple of times,

(56:59):
and I'm saying, because I'm walking down at Dark Alley
and I see him coming my way, I'm going back
to the week. If you've got some of the scariest
eyes I have ever seen it on the guy that
I would never mess with that guy. But hey, you're
going to have a say so about this whole Naster
Championship gip because your second game of the season.

Speaker 2 (57:18):
Is guess who Michigan.

Speaker 13 (57:21):
Oh that's gonna be beautiful. So I can't wait for
the season to start, but I'll be You're going to
have a ray so about who was this Mastional championship? Dechief.
I'm promising that.

Speaker 2 (57:32):
I like that. Thanks, Joe, appreciate it. It's good phone call.

Speaker 3 (57:35):
I'm actually during the breaks when I'm not walking around
getting the pain out, I'm working on my OEU preview
and it's kind of wild.

Speaker 2 (57:46):
You bring in Ben R. Buckle. Oh, we're going sooners here, Bro.
You didn't have this on the Bingo car tonight? Did you?
Thank you?

Speaker 3 (57:51):
Jerome and Charlton. You're breaking Ben R. Buckle is like
twenty nine years old to be your offensive coordinator. You
bring in John Mattier from Washington State, who learned the
offense that Ben R. Buckle was implementing here in Oklahoma.
And you bring an offense from Washington State that was
seventeenth in total yards per game four hundred and forty

(58:13):
two point eight yards per game, seventeenth in the country.
Oklahoma ranked two hundred and third nationally in total yards
per game. I didn't know there were two hundred and
twenty three potential our two hundred and three potential teams
that could have been even ranked on that statistic. So
you're gonna go up. You're gonna get better offensively because

(58:35):
it can't possibly get any worse. And get to know
this name. I got a name for you, guys from Oklahoma.
Get to know this name. R Mason Thomas. You know
why his first name is R. Because his mom wanted
him to have a first name that started with R.
So they just decided to go with R. And he
is something else off the edge. I think he's gonna
be an NFL guy, probably on the fringe of the

(58:56):
first round. But R Mason Thomas, SEC and oh, we
had big twelve media Days this past week. Now we
get the tease of SEC media Days this week. So
a lot of college football on the horizon. But we'll
get back to the Bears and we'llcome back to Lebron
with your calls next eight, seven, seven ninety nine. On
Fox We're in socow, We're into Olympia, We're in a
no cow all coming up right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (59:31):
You know, last week we made a joke about, hey,
everybody be safe out there, fourth of July.

Speaker 2 (59:37):
Don't lose any digits.

Speaker 3 (59:40):
I'm playing with fireworks, And then we had a story
involving najiiis, who's never missed a game in his career,
having a firework emergency in one that.

Speaker 2 (59:54):
Superficial eye injury.

Speaker 3 (59:57):
Now, I don't know about you, but you ever have
you guys ever have an eye injury before?

Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
Jabbed in the eye on anything?

Speaker 14 (01:00:04):
You know?

Speaker 7 (01:00:04):
I was gonna say, the only thing is I wear
contacts because I'm behind I had a contact break in
my eye like like so all the little so there
were shreds of contact that had gone behind my eye
on the side of my worst.

Speaker 4 (01:00:20):
Oh that was that was the extent.

Speaker 3 (01:00:22):
Yeah, I I did the same thing. Similar I had
the contact where I was lazy, didn't take him out,
stuck in my eye and it's the worst feeling in
the world. So a superficial eye injury, dude, that's sounds pain.
Is this gonna be one of those that whenever we
see nausey, you realize that he's having to wear an

(01:00:45):
eyepatch or something of that nature.

Speaker 4 (01:00:46):
Now, so I hope not. Wait who Najoku? Remember when
he got he had like a burn right right?

Speaker 2 (01:00:54):
Was that fireworks?

Speaker 7 (01:00:55):
I don't think so, but I thought about it for
a hot seck I thought it was, But I don't
think so now.

Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
No, But you know, we we have the history got
Jason Pierre Paul and his explosion.

Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
But I just I like fireworks. I think I think
I've done one eighty on him.

Speaker 3 (01:01:10):
But man, when it comes to messing around with him
and going over the top, listen, there's roman candles, there's
bottle rockets, there's smoke bombs.

Speaker 10 (01:01:22):
What'd you say?

Speaker 2 (01:01:24):
That's where I don't mess around that.

Speaker 3 (01:01:27):
When you're getting into that world mark, that's where it's like,
oh what are we doing here?

Speaker 2 (01:01:31):
M eighties?

Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
And that's that's that's where you're not only backing it
up Terry, that's where you're like, Terry, get to another
continent right now, because that those things are dangerous. But
one week later, here we stand terrible injury for Naje.
Here is hope things will work out okay for him.
The meantime, let's get us some calls here. Where do
you want to start. Who's next?

Speaker 2 (01:01:53):
Up? Is it Tony and socow? Let's do Tony? What's
going on? Man? Welcome to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 13 (01:02:00):
How are you hey?

Speaker 18 (01:02:01):
Caleb Williams and Lincoln Riley got Jackson Dart fired at USC,
and now Jackson Dart is going to be a starter,
and Caleb Williams is getting up as a backup. And
I hope he doesn't want to come to the Rams.
He should go to Baltimore. And because and the last
year of USC he was being heckled by the students
on campus, you know, on campus, and then they were

(01:02:24):
heckling him at the game. And if he had wanted
to come back for another year, no one wanted him.
Like at USC, he's like good riddance. We wish we
never seen him. We wish we had kept Jackson Dart
all the way. And and also Sophia Vergara is several
years older than Tom Brady. He's lying about her age.

Speaker 2 (01:02:44):
Oh you think it's more.

Speaker 18 (01:02:47):
She must be like fifty five at least because I
knew her in the eighties and nineties.

Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
So you're claiming age lying here?

Speaker 18 (01:02:57):
How does how does he shay she is?

Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
What do we say? Fifty three? Is what it is.

Speaker 18 (01:03:02):
Yeah, maybe that's maybe she's like fifty five or six.

Speaker 3 (01:03:05):
Maybe you're look on me, look here right, fifty to
fifty three? Yeah, what she goes nineteen seventy two.

Speaker 18 (01:03:10):
Yeah, that's maybe a little older.

Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
Okay, all right, thanks for the call. I appreciate it. Hey,
I'll just say hand up.

Speaker 3 (01:03:17):
If you guys didn't want Caleb Williams, see he could have,
sayd Oklahoma, who would have taken him? That's fine, Dyl
Gabriel worked out, okay, But I would have loved to
see I would have loved to see Caleb williamstick her ound. No, no,
end have sore butts about it, Tony. You can say, audios,
we can't stand you. But I would have loved to
see him stay. Isn't that while to think that Jackson
Dart started his career at USC, and in fact he

(01:03:42):
was that quarterback room in twenty twenty one was pretty wild.
But because you had both Jackson Dart and I want
to say, Keton Slovis was there and it just never
really materialized. They brought in Caleb Billy Dart entered the portal.
There was a rumor there for a while that Dart

(01:04:03):
was going to becoming Oklahoma, and he ended up at
Old Miss and obviously turned into the first round picking
the New York Giants this year, what twenty fifth overall?
I would have taken him in Oklahoma, you guys, ind one,
we could have stayed here.

Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
All right? What's going on? It is up in Olympia.
How are you, man, Chris Plank?

Speaker 19 (01:04:21):
I got a question for you guys before I get
into my sports take here, because you were talking about
the eye injury that a Nagy Hair has suffered, and
I wonder is there any like type of injury besides
like a private part injury that makes you actually cringe
more than the eye injury, because when Bree was telling
her story about the contact, I was sitting here cringing.

Speaker 16 (01:04:37):
It was horrible.

Speaker 19 (01:04:38):
I'm glad I'm so blind that I could never even use
a contact.

Speaker 2 (01:04:44):
Okay, that's a good one.

Speaker 3 (01:04:46):
I heard someone talk about their a groin injury where
the groin muscle was like ripped off the bone or
something like that, and that sounded incredibly painful, but brief
horrible from the eye injuries, you know, it's just when
you get something. I feel terrible having this conversation with
someone who's blind. But when you have something caught in
your eyes, just the worst.

Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
You can't get that.

Speaker 19 (01:05:08):
But not a contact, Yeah, I know the pain. That's terrible.

Speaker 2 (01:05:12):
All right, go ahead with your sports, ta gammit.

Speaker 19 (01:05:14):
So do you want me to talk about Lebron or
the Bears?

Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
You take doing both? Do them both?

Speaker 20 (01:05:18):
All right?

Speaker 19 (01:05:19):
So with the Bears, I think that giving him the extension.
I hear what you're saying, but I can understand what
the Bears are doing because you got to look at it,
like how he's changed this franchise. I mean, Matt Eberflus
was probably the worst head coach we've seen in a
very long time, maybe besides that Urban Meyer. And especially
with how that Lion's game went on Thanksgiving. I don't
really hold that rookie season too too much on Caleb Williams.

(01:05:40):
I mean, you got sacked like sixty five times. It
was just a horrible disaster. He goes out, he gets
Ben Johnson, which is a great, a great take up
for the coaching position. Not only that he comes in
and he fixes the number one issue with that Bears offense.
And I know Marks liking what I'm saying right now,
because they went out and they got that whole offensive line.

Speaker 14 (01:05:59):
I believe it was Jonah Jack.

Speaker 19 (01:06:00):
And they trade for they trade for some other talents.
So what they're doing, they're on the right track and
the division that's where it's gonna get hard. But on
the Lebron James, man, it sucked for him that like
it has to come to an end badly with the Lakers.
But it's getting really bad. I mean, I do think
that he is partial to blame for this because he
was coming out here a couple of weeks ago calling
out the Lakers for, oh, you know, I don't really

(01:06:21):
believe in this roster. You know, he had rich false
that for him. And the thing is, and I told
Ben Allerd that he didn't really like the argument I
had is fifty two million dollars. I get you guy
to get your money. But Lebron, if you truly want
to win something with the Lakers, you should have told
the Lakers, hey, man, can we restructure this like oh
the quietness option, but I'll sign like a one year,
like thirty million dollar contract. Because the Lakers, you said

(01:06:42):
it perfectly, they're in a situation where they don't have much,
they don't have much salary, they don't have much draft picks.
So if you want your team to win, you can
blame Lebron for a lot of the reason why the
Lakers don't have these draft picks, because they had to
go out and they had to get these guys. They
traded their whole, like the whole city of LA for
Anthony Davis. It felt like which he has, you can
argue it worked. I mean it was a COVID ring.
That's a whole another debate for a whole nother show.

(01:07:04):
I don't think you want to get into that tonight,
But I just think that if you're the Lakers, you
got to think about your future and Lebron, I mean,
it just seems like you'd go back to Cleveland, try
and win a ring with them and retire. It makes
the most sense possible. And you know, Bron, he's going
with them too well.

Speaker 3 (01:07:18):
And I pitched the phone call. I mean, you know
on both topics eloquently there. Let me from everything that
all the smart people tell me. It just doesn't work
financially or where Cleveland would want to give up what
I guess it would take to get Lebron, or at
least what the Lakers would want to get Lebron.

Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:07:40):
It seems like every single time that happens, the trade
ends up taking place. There's no way that financially, James
Harden could end up here, And the next thing you know,
it's like, oh, yeah, James Harden just got traded.

Speaker 2 (01:07:50):
Yeah he got traded to where do you want to, Brooklyn?
There's no way it would work. Oh yeah, you got traded.

Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
It's just all these times whenever people tell you trade
won't work, it ends up happening. And I think it's
become my favorite thing, especially in the NBA, because every
single time they tell you something's not gonna work and.

Speaker 2 (01:08:06):
Ends up working.

Speaker 3 (01:08:07):
So I'm not I'm not saying not to anything. We
or a week you go tonight, we you know we
had this topic. We know we didn't have some of
the details that both Brian Windhorse and Ramona Shelburne and
in the ESPN article that dropped tonight where Lebron didn't
get the heads up about the team being sold, YadA
YadA YadA things and now you get the head up
on the Luca trade. All these things that you might

(01:08:29):
want to imagine would be frustrating to a team leader.
But I don't think the Lakers are terrible. I still
think they're a pretty good basketball team. I think they
can win some games. And this whole idea that suddenly
they're just gonna stop trying to win games and build
for the future is one of those things that is
just it threw me off from Rich Paul's statement. I mean,

(01:08:53):
we're We're two weeks removed from it, and I'm still
sitting here scratching my Head's like, what do you mean?

Speaker 16 (01:08:58):
That?

Speaker 3 (01:08:58):
To me sounded like someone who he just needed a
little bit of an attention grab or be was truly
wanting out to go somewhere else, because I mean, the
Lakers went through a little mini tank there for a while,
and they ended up getting what Brandon Ingram and Lonzo
Ball out of it, d' Angelo Russell too, and what
did all those guys become. They became bait for big trades. So,

(01:09:24):
I mean, it's just it's funny whenever you start getting
into the building for the future. Hey, it's the Lakers, man.
They can't you can't afford to You gotta win now,
all right? Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Where
do you want to go now?

Speaker 2 (01:09:37):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:09:38):
Poppy time? For some Poppies picks. What's going on, Poppy?
How are you?

Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
Man?

Speaker 14 (01:09:42):
Hey, how's it going good? Thanks?

Speaker 2 (01:09:45):
Outstanding?

Speaker 14 (01:09:46):
Yeah, I'm glad that you're doing outstanding a great show.
Before I go to my pick, I just want to
talk a little bit about Lebron and Papa Lebron and Lebron,
you know, like nobody cares. I'm tired of bliw Lebron.
Nobody cares. And I'm glad you any Bus actually sold
the Lakers so he can get like traded, you know,
And I'm glad he didn't get like the warning and

(01:10:06):
they told Luca because he's the bright star the future,
like Chris, out with the old, in with the new
with Luca magic, and you know, talking about that with
Lebron James, you know, I was actually I might here
watching him joined the Summer League right here in Vegas,
and actually was watching the game Cooper Flag with Bronni
James when he won the game thing and I was

(01:10:28):
looking all over the dance, where's upon James James? Like
he was nowhere to be found, and Lebron James wasn't there.
And Bronnie James against Cooper Black, he airballed it ohble.

Speaker 3 (01:10:40):
I that I think that Dallas defender got a piece
of it though, but I might be a homer.

Speaker 14 (01:10:45):
No, no, no, those are good rests. Those are the
best rest they did did They did a good call,
And no, Lebron James, I think it's just a horrible
dad not sup boarding. It's done, Bonnie James. But onto
the pigs.

Speaker 13 (01:10:58):
Now, you guys are gonna.

Speaker 14 (01:11:00):
Of the picks. You know, we did good last week,
and the game that I'm eyeing on, I'm going to
give you three picks for straight picks and on your picks,
Chris Flank the parlay. The game that I'm looking at,
the first one is the O Tawani versus the Giants.
You know, Dodgers on the slump. They're doing horrible whole
wolves against them, But hey, Dodgers got to wake up
sooner or later, and I believe tomorrow is going to

(01:11:21):
be the time with Otani. And in the lineup right
now that I'm looking at is minus one forty and
we're gonna go with Otani. And then the second one
I'm liking is the Baltimore Orioles against Miami Martins. Baltimore
Oriols are really good home team when they play at home,
they're going to be cooking some teams. So I really
like the picture. Rogers, I believe Rogers and uh and

(01:11:41):
the line is minus one sixty, right, Chris Night, and
save the save the best for last basketball the Summer League.
Right here, we're going to give you guys some picks.
Out of the three games that I saw, actually four games,
Chris three underdog straight one it was yeah and above
two forty. The Sun's one, the Portland twelve Blazers are

(01:12:04):
Charlotte Hornet's one, and the only one that lost was
the Chicago Bulls plus two twenty. So whatever you guys
see tomorrow bonus pick. Look at those plus one fifty
plus two twenty plus two forty.

Speaker 12 (01:12:17):
Whatever you guys see.

Speaker 14 (01:12:18):
The lines are gonna come out later on tonight or
in the morning. You want to take the big underdog
because the favorite here Vegas has it wrong and they
don't even know who.

Speaker 13 (01:12:27):
The favorites are.

Speaker 14 (01:12:28):
These kids are playing for the first time together. They
don't have a team commiacy, So go with the big underdogs.
What do you think, Chris?

Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
I like it. I like it, though, I got the man.

Speaker 3 (01:12:37):
I watch the Summer League I'm not as invested in
as it seems you are, Bobby, Like, I can't sit
here and tell you if unders have been hit or
overs have been hit. But every year I feel like
there's fun storylines. I feel like every single year. I
think for the call buddy, appreciate it every year. And

(01:12:57):
I go back and watching the stupid whenever DN Wrestle
and Brandon Ingram played together, and the Angelo Russell. I
think the Lakers won the Summer League in Vegas that year,
and that was kind of where the uh he was
tapping the arm, the ice in my veins kind of started.

Speaker 2 (01:13:13):
Yeah, Summer League, right, But.

Speaker 3 (01:13:17):
I came to it. I came to a hot take
this week. I'm kind of been work shopping in a
little bit. And and again, I know I work with
the King of knee jerks every Sunday night, So maybe
maybe this is a little bit more. Maybe it's a
little bit more like like my opinion and not one
hundred percent, but I feel like it's close to one

(01:13:38):
hundred percent. I think the sport we need jerk on
the most is the NBA. I'm I'm convinced of it.
People will see one quarter, one shot and decide that
guy sucks or that guy's amazing. Like if you watched
if you watched the whole Lakers Mavericks Summer League, which.

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
By the way, it is just it's terrible basketball.

Speaker 3 (01:14:04):
It does magnify how good the NBA truly is because
it's awful basketball turnovers, and it's understandable because they haven't
played together very long, they don't have a lot of
time to practice. I'm sure there's a lot of pressure
because you gotta be great in order to catch someone's eye.
But it's hard to watch. But then again, that doesn't
stop anyone on social media or with a microphone in

(01:14:27):
front of him from making bombastic statements based on a
quarter or a half of an NBA Summer League game.
I mean again, going back to my man Arnie Spaniard
after his first Summer League game, Arnie's take was that
Victor Winbin Yama is just not gonna be that good.
And you know, obviously the verdicts still lot, but I

(01:14:48):
think what you've seen from win bin Yama when he
was healthy, he got he got a chance to be
pretty special, right, But it's just we've got a Cooper flag.
I saw it all, right, Cooper Flag, look at that,
he don' he's going to be a rock star. And
then five minutes later Coop of Flag's terrible. I don't
even understand how I'd be the first big Overall, there's
no it's okay to have like a gray area and

(01:15:09):
it's okay to live in it at times in sports.
But I truly believe that we need jerk on basketball,
specifically the NBA, more than any other sport. And it
makes it awful to try to be on social media
during a game, Just awful. All right, quick break, more
of your calls coming up at eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox.

Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
I've got a story.

Speaker 3 (01:15:29):
Involving a water buffalo, a water buffalo that's coming up
next right here on Fox Sports Radio. I we got
Breeze three right around the corner. Lines are jammed up.
At eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Get in here.
I have a story out of Jones, Oklahoma involving a

(01:15:52):
water buffalo. First of all, I want to remind you
when you want real sports talk, the best pregame show
every weekend is right here on Fox Sports Radio. Tune
into Fox Sports Radios. Countdown presented by bet MGM. Every
Saturday and Sunday morning from nine to noon Eastern sixty
to nine a Pacific, We'll count it down to the
biggest games. Tune into Countdown presented by bet MGM every

(01:16:13):
Saturday and Sunday morning right here on Fox Sports Radio
and the iHeart Radio app Brie Mark. If I were
to ask both of you what is the deadliest animal
worldwide by annual numbers of human deaths? Who would you guess?
Deadliest animal? Ausonymous, Hipponymous Okay?

Speaker 4 (01:16:36):
I would have said bison or an elephant.

Speaker 2 (01:16:38):
Bisoner very good guesses.

Speaker 21 (01:16:40):
Mosquitoes, Oh, are you serious?

Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
Yes? Followed by snakes. It's pretty amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:16:46):
It's over a million people die every year from mosquitoes,
one hundred thousand from snakes, thirty thousand from dogs. See
my dog kind of looking at me? Now I can
started at that, twenty thousand from fresh water snails. There's
things like assassin bugs on here out there's elephants, lions,

(01:17:08):
and at number two on the list is water buffaloes. Now,
I'm sorry. Low on the list at two hundred, excuse me,
is water buffaloes. I'm not gonna lie to you. Not
familiar with, nor have I heard much about water buffaloes
except that they're very dangerous. Two hundred they killed two

(01:17:30):
hundred people per year, and somehow they killed a man
tonight in Oklahoma. What so according to reports Jones, Oklahoma,
which is a very small town Class two A, they're
called themselves. I think they're the Longhorns. So you know,

(01:17:51):
that's O for two for my people in Jones, but
great people in Jones. But the Jones Police Department confirmed
tonight that a man was attacked by two water buffaloes.
And while there's limited details, please say they confirmed they
received a call.

Speaker 2 (01:18:10):
The fire department was at the scene.

Speaker 3 (01:18:12):
The man died after being attacked by two of them
on Friday night. They euthanized the animals and the man
had just purchased the livestock today before. The investigation is
taking place on private property. I've done question, why the
hell would you want to bring a killer and put
it on here. It's like, hey, man, you know what
we need here? We need cup of water buffaloes. Bro,

(01:18:34):
that's dangerous. Man, they're killers.

Speaker 2 (01:18:36):
I don't care.

Speaker 3 (01:18:37):
They're considered to be one of the most deadliest. Wait,
hold on, I'm not JD Harmier. They're considered to be
one of the deadliest animals in Africa. Brie Mark, why
would they be bringing them to the States? What is
is it meat? Is it food?

Speaker 2 (01:18:54):
I mean he's dead now, so I mean that's terrible story.

Speaker 10 (01:18:57):
But he had the money because he just wanted to
see them in his back.

Speaker 3 (01:19:00):
Maybe, Okay, maybe there's few money involved in this, Bree,
You got a guess on this.

Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
It makes no sense.

Speaker 4 (01:19:05):
I don't even know.

Speaker 2 (01:19:07):
What they do.

Speaker 4 (01:19:08):
I don't either, Okay, cool, Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 7 (01:19:11):
So, I mean I feel like they just kind of
like roam around, and I feel like they would kind
of like kill your grass, right, I feel like they
would kind of kill your farm.

Speaker 3 (01:19:19):
I wonder if it's just a flex I wonder if
Mark's right, because I can't there's usually I mean, listen,
it is we're approaching for in the morning on the
East coast. There's definitely some farmers that are getting up
this morning. Why in the world would anyone want to
bring a killer and put it on your properties? Like, hey, man,
you see that thing out there, it's water buffalo. You

(01:19:41):
walk out there and think gonna kill you, but it didn't.
Best around man, you.

Speaker 10 (01:19:45):
Can come and rescue.

Speaker 4 (01:19:47):
Okay, I'm gonna read something about the auctions.

Speaker 7 (01:19:50):
Good water buffaloes are invaluable for their ability to work
in wet marshy lands, where other machinery and animals might
fail beyond their work abilities. They are also prized for
their milk, which is richer in fatin protein.

Speaker 3 (01:20:05):
Why the hell would you risk milking one of those things.
It's if it's killing two hundred people a year. I
don't want to get close to it. And it's funny
because I always thought it like a water buffalos. Oh buffalos. Look,
it's like a cute little thing. No the killer.

Speaker 2 (01:20:21):
Some dude's dead.

Speaker 3 (01:20:24):
Rip my man, Rip. Thanks for the information I got
learned up tonight. Who knew that we had a water
buffalo on the Bingo car tonight here on Fox Sports Radio. Okay,
when we come back, I see Mike the Leprechaun as
on hole. It's been a rough week for Mike the Leprecaun.
We'll check in with him. I breeze, not pushing the

(01:20:46):
panic button. My hands hovering Dodgers have lost seven in
a row now, and on the flip side of it,
Red Sox fans love baseball again.

Speaker 2 (01:20:53):
They won eight straight.

Speaker 3 (01:20:55):
We'll talk a little Major League baseball, and I want
a little bit more on the Bears. You know, I
I feel like I flip flopped all over the place
with him tonight. But are you in or are you out?
Ryan Pols gets the big extension. Are the Bears on
the right path? We'll talk it up coming up in
our final hour next.

Speaker 1 (01:21:14):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:21:18):
Oh the final hour. We're rolling coming to you live
for the Fox Sports Radio studios with Brie with Mark.
I'm blank, lean right up to the Fellaws and I
see right. Kay Fig is in on the Fellas today.
Kevin Figures coming up.

Speaker 4 (01:21:31):
Let's go host it today?

Speaker 2 (01:21:33):
Oh Diddy? All right?

Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
So k Fig will be in the house, coming up
here as soon as we're done in this final hour
Fox Sports Radio. Things we've been talking about tonight, obvious
reaction to the Lebron James story. The Lakers are ready
to usher in the Luke era, and the debate about
how they've handled it. Probably one of the least shocking
stories ever, because nothing is ever easy with Lebron, and

(01:22:00):
trying to tell him that you're heading in another direction
probably isn't that easy either.

Speaker 2 (01:22:05):
But I still think the thing.

Speaker 3 (01:22:07):
That stood out to me the most was the frustration
over not knowing that the Lakers were going to be
sold like that, you know, for a guy, for guy
Lebron James that has spent so much of his career
telling us that, oh, the GM's got a job to
do and they I'm not gonna be a part of that.

Speaker 2 (01:22:30):
I just want to play basketball.

Speaker 3 (01:22:32):
It becomes pretty glaringly obvious that you do want to
be talked to and you do want to know about
these things, because this whole article is basically you complaining
or at least laying out the concerns that you had
because you weren't talk to or talked with or advised

(01:22:53):
of the Cell the Luca trade. I mean, it's just
it's a different era for the Laker. They got to
move I'm not saying they got to move on from
Lebron right now. I don't agree with that paying them
a lot of money. From everything that you've heard, there
probably won't be a ton in return if you trade him.
And I don't really care about restocking all your second

(01:23:16):
round picks, right unless it's going to be a straight
up for a Karl Anthony Towns or a Kawhi, and
I don't know if the Knicks or the Clippers would
want to do that, And I think those are just
what Bill Simmons created deals. I don't know that there's
a trade out there that would make sense for the
Lakers to not say, hey, man, let's just all be pros.
Let's go have a fun year and Lebron, you're gonna

(01:23:36):
make fifty two million dollars. Sit there and play Batman
a right play Robin to Lucas Batman. I think you
can handle that, But I will say I don't know
if DeAndre Ayton is as great of an addition as
our man Jason McIntyre. Try to lay it out good
on him, though. Someone definitely was drinking the the Laker

(01:23:56):
and Ate and kool aid after the signing this last week,
So we'll talk a little bit more about that.

Speaker 2 (01:24:02):
It's the show rolls on.

Speaker 3 (01:24:03):
The Bears extended their general manager Ryan Poles, So you
know what that means. We need to have a show
conversation about the direction of the Bears. I'm all over
the place on it. Brie can't make up my mind
if I'm in or out. I don't think I'm in
on polls. But I think I'm in on the direction
of the Bears. I believe in Caleb Williams. I think
he's gonna be a hell of an NFL quarterback. But
I don't know if Chicago's the right place. Maybe maybe

(01:24:27):
it's the right place now because he's got what he's
got a coach, the knows offense and Ben Johnson. So
we're talking some Bears tonight, and you're telling me no
reason to panic with this seven game losing streak for
the Dodgers, Right, It's all gonna be okay, I.

Speaker 4 (01:24:42):
Truly feel that way. I think Mookie's gonna wake up.

Speaker 7 (01:24:45):
I'm hoping praying sho Hey is just kind of transitioning
from pitching being back into that world again. Okay, Right,
and offensively, I think they're gonna I feel like Michael
CONFORDO needs to wake up.

Speaker 4 (01:24:58):
I don't really know what's happening there. Not gonna lie key.

Speaker 7 (01:25:01):
Kuh or no keyk Maximnzy's hurt so obviously out that's bad.
But taoscar Hernandez is coming back soon, So I mean, yeah,
there's just like some little thing as little bumps in
the road. But one hundred and sixty two games. What
are we doing?

Speaker 4 (01:25:17):
We can't be.

Speaker 7 (01:25:17):
Upset at all seven games if they were on a
twenty game losing streak. Or let's say the MLB season
was like, I don't know, forty games long and there
were seven games.

Speaker 1 (01:25:26):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:25:26):
I think that'd be more worrisome.

Speaker 3 (01:25:29):
A couple of quick tweets here, then we'll get to
the phones. I like this for my man mustang mania.
He says, how come no one in Lakerland acknowledges the
worst case scenario?

Speaker 2 (01:25:38):
Labronsky leaves, Luca.

Speaker 3 (01:25:40):
Plays this year and then opts out at the end
of the season after Nico gets fired, goes back to
Dallas and the MAVs get the Lakers pick. Boy, buddy,
you are talking about a disaster scenario. I mean one
that I think every single Laker fan would rather not
even try to think about. Nature Boy, my man Addie
Lebron is now the shimp and Luca is the curly

(01:26:04):
and he can't handle it.

Speaker 2 (01:26:06):
Do you guys get that? Reference, you guys get that?

Speaker 20 (01:26:08):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (01:26:09):
Yes, okay, yes, curly and very good, very good. The
three Stooges's right. I'm so sorry, there you go.

Speaker 7 (01:26:17):
I watched it I swear it started out mow Larry Curly.

Speaker 3 (01:26:21):
Then it was mow Larry Shimp. Then it was mow
Larry and Joe. Then there was Mowlarry and Curly Joe.
I might have had some issues with what do you
mean he was younger? There were several different there were
several different iterations of the three stooges.

Speaker 2 (01:26:33):
Yoo, well, I mean Curly died at like thirty eight
years old.

Speaker 10 (01:26:37):
She's only seeing a certain.

Speaker 7 (01:26:39):
Different Yeah, I was gonna say Curly and Larry.

Speaker 9 (01:26:42):
She might not have seen the other rerun. She's slightly
on the loop on Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:26:47):
All right, fair enough for enough Craig rites. Lebron's done
in LA. Whether he's traded before training camp, at mid
season or plays the whole season, he will not be
on the Lakers next year. I think we all agree
with that. Greg, I think you're right. And then he
adds to double up on the Tomlin conversation. He says,
Mike Tomlin's made too many bad calls over the years,

(01:27:07):
especially in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (01:27:09):
He's had an answer for him.

Speaker 3 (01:27:11):
Overrated is a stretch, especially with all the other coaches
in the league who have been called geniuses but are anything,
but yeah, how are we gonna call how are we
gonna call Mike Tomlin overrated?

Speaker 2 (01:27:24):
And then sit there in that same kind of vein.

Speaker 3 (01:27:29):
And praise a Matt Lafleur who hasn't done a damn
thing yet with the Green Bay Packers. I mean, at
least you know mcveigh's got a title. We can celebrate
Sean McVay. And it looks like the Rams are on
the right path now. But I mean, always find an
interesting That's a great point.

Speaker 2 (01:27:46):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:27:46):
When you look around the league and everyone's like, oh,
he's so overrated, You're like, well, I mean, based on
what expectations in Pittsburgh, I don't know if anyone can
meet those expectations. That's because they're a great franchise. All right,
there's there's some tweets. There's our story. So let's get
to the phones. Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
Here he is in all his glory, Mike, the leprechaunt

(01:28:08):
is in the house.

Speaker 2 (01:28:09):
What a week? What's going on? Mike? How are you?

Speaker 20 (01:28:12):
What a fuk knight?

Speaker 2 (01:28:14):
What?

Speaker 20 (01:28:15):
What a fork knight? That's two weeks by the way.

Speaker 2 (01:28:18):
Oh Fortnight. Scared For a minute there, I thought you
said something else.

Speaker 3 (01:28:23):
Yeah, it has been it has been a while. Yeah, yeah,
it's been a rough, been a rough interesting couple of
weeks for Mike.

Speaker 20 (01:28:28):
No, not rough at all. It was Okay, Lebron, Lebron
should come to box for one year, even though they
hain't in here. He should come belone year. Boston needs
a star for one year. As Ary is talking and regarding,
I always have hot take Feld. Anyways, the bear, the
bear who cares about the bears.

Speaker 14 (01:28:51):
I have loos.

Speaker 2 (01:28:53):
Okay, Bree is brilliant. Bree is brilliant.

Speaker 14 (01:28:57):
I agree, and Mark is good too.

Speaker 2 (01:29:02):
I agree.

Speaker 10 (01:29:03):
I'm glad you Let me tell you let me.

Speaker 20 (01:29:05):
Quick, let me tell you about Bree is brilliant.

Speaker 13 (01:29:08):
Okay, you know I got in trouble.

Speaker 20 (01:29:09):
I got in trouble with Ben Malad last week for
saying Bree is the best.

Speaker 13 (01:29:13):
Right and because she can juggle you.

Speaker 14 (01:29:16):
She can juggle Ben Mallard and she can juggle Bernie Fred.
Oh my god, yeah, I.

Speaker 13 (01:29:23):
Mean so she and she knows the sports.

Speaker 3 (01:29:28):
Yeah, I agree, you have to deal with several different.

Speaker 4 (01:29:36):
Okay, thank you.

Speaker 13 (01:29:39):
And got mad at you okay.

Speaker 20 (01:29:41):
And so I grew up on a I grew up
on a farm and the most dangerous animal decided a
bull when the house.

Speaker 11 (01:29:48):
Where in he uh, a pig?

Speaker 20 (01:29:51):
A pig? A hog? Pig would be very dangerous. Just
you know, regard regarding injuries and lease tendon, it's the
most painful.

Speaker 9 (01:30:02):
Have you had it?

Speaker 20 (01:30:04):
No?

Speaker 14 (01:30:04):
I haven't.

Speaker 20 (01:30:05):
My brother Dave and so the Jake and Chatum and
a whole bunch of them. But anyway, can we.

Speaker 14 (01:30:12):
Talk about Los Angeles?

Speaker 2 (01:30:14):
Yeah? Go ahead.

Speaker 20 (01:30:16):
No, the Dodgers are on a sick Parice globe, but
they have a good No, like Brice said, it's one
hundred and sixty two games, so they'll.

Speaker 12 (01:30:24):
Be there at the end.

Speaker 14 (01:30:25):
The Red Sox are actually all of a sudden on fire.

Speaker 2 (01:30:27):
Yeah, your boys are looking good.

Speaker 15 (01:30:30):
Yeah, thank god?

Speaker 14 (01:30:32):
Is that bombs away?

Speaker 20 (01:30:33):
Bombs away? But are you going to watch the Wimbledon
final today with the lady what's her name?

Speaker 2 (01:30:39):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (01:30:39):
I might watch it because I really don't feel like
I have any option because it's the only thing that's
on TV and the ESPN listen. I'm not here to
just bash ESPN, but holy smokes, every channel is a
Wimbledon channel.

Speaker 2 (01:30:53):
So yeah, I'll watch it. Come in.

Speaker 20 (01:30:56):
No, that's it better.

Speaker 17 (01:30:57):
There's something better on.

Speaker 20 (01:30:58):
There's the European Women's Championship.

Speaker 2 (01:31:02):
Okay, what that is good?

Speaker 14 (01:31:05):
That is absolutely level.

Speaker 20 (01:31:07):
And Tom Brady, yes, Tom Brady. And what's that's his girlfriend?

Speaker 3 (01:31:13):
Well they're saying they're not boyfriend girlfriend, but Sophia.

Speaker 20 (01:31:18):
I'm going to get through a new nickname viagra.

Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
Very good.

Speaker 3 (01:31:22):
All right, well done, Michael Leprechaun, well done. All right,
I'll talk to you soon. Oh my gosh, blessed. Sorry,
Now why did he get how did he get in trouble?

Speaker 2 (01:31:31):
Brie? What happened?

Speaker 12 (01:31:32):
He said?

Speaker 7 (01:31:33):
Well, he said, I said he got in trouble because
I said, Brie is brilliant.

Speaker 4 (01:31:38):
So I hope it doesn't get mad at me. He's
my buddy.

Speaker 2 (01:31:42):
That's that's what you don't want. You don't want to
get on Ben Malla.

Speaker 4 (01:31:45):
Not that is the last person.

Speaker 3 (01:31:47):
I mean, that's just that. That's a lesson that I've learned.
He kind of runs this show around here, especially for
US late night cruise.

Speaker 7 (01:31:55):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:31:57):
I don't know what what European Championship was he talking about?

Speaker 3 (01:32:00):
Idea I will say I I'm gonna spend this Saturday
immersing myself in college football. I'm gonna be nerding out
on all my college football PREVIEUM magazines, making notes that
I'll forget about in a couple of weeks, and getting
ready for the twenty twenty five college football season.

Speaker 2 (01:32:19):
That's my goal for today.

Speaker 3 (01:32:21):
So maybe I am not going to be all in
on Wimbledon, but I say it every single cent. Eddie
kind of talked me into it. Nature Boy tried to
talk me into it. I watched a bit, but I
wish I was into tennis. I wish I was into
Wimbledon because holy smokes, there's a lot of it and
it's like, oh, I'm watching the singles. Well, there's a
doubles match going on. There's a mixed doubles match going on,

(01:32:43):
and there's eight different angles of it. You can watch.
It's crazy. Is Holler and James still in there in Minnesota?
What's going on? Holler and James?

Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
How are you? I know him as James.

Speaker 4 (01:32:56):
I never said he was awake, but I know he
was on the James.

Speaker 3 (01:33:00):
Way to fight for us. James, Hey, did I tell you?
I fell asleep on the phone talking to my wife
the other night. I got a big trouble for that.
Sean and Illinois. Then we'll get the last word. What's
going on, Sean?

Speaker 1 (01:33:16):
You're on the air, Sean, Hey, can you hear me?

Speaker 8 (01:33:21):
Well, I just wanted it's so funny talking about the
magazines and the college football and that. Yeah, that's how
we used to do fantasy way back in the day.
It was like you get all these different magazines and
try to compare everything and then you still win with luck.
But you know what I mean. But but regarding the Bears,

(01:33:45):
I've been a bearrass fan for years and years. I
grew up with Walter Payton. My dad grew up with
Scale Stairs and Budkis and actually Mike Ditka, And all
I can say is inept. That's what the Bears are,
just the way they I've never seen an organization. They're

(01:34:05):
probably the worst professional, professionally run organization in sports. But
unlike other things where you have a bottom line, the
Bears bottom line is fine. But the people that their
customers are all just forlorn every year they and I

(01:34:27):
say they because I quit the Bears.

Speaker 13 (01:34:30):
I did.

Speaker 8 (01:34:31):
I quit two years ago. I couldn't take it anymore
and I just said I'm not doing it. And I
still play fantasy. So I got to be involved with
what they're doing. But last year it was just well,
according to friends and men others, it was depending on
which side you were on it, it was either a
clown show or it was just frustration at every point.

(01:34:55):
Of course, they had the Hail Mary debacle and what
have you. But given Ryan Polls, this extensions, it's what
I heard Ben Mallin. I think mal seasons. It's mouth seasons.
It really is. It's absolute, Athonine. It doesn't make any sense.

(01:35:17):
I mean the guy shouldn't really, I mean, he should
have to go through interviews to get a general manager
job at Walmart and they're given him five more years
to what he could have got Jalen Carter, but he
but he passed that up and gave him to the
Eagles and they went to the super Bowl. He could
have well, and then he got Playpool and they and

(01:35:40):
that turned out to be Joey Porter Junior. And now
I'm telling you, I mean, I wish I could say different.
I think Kayleb Williams is a bust. I've never seen
a guy so take that much time in the pocket.
It's like a what was that car? Not Derek Carr
the other.

Speaker 3 (01:36:01):
Hey Sean, I appreciate the phone call. Man, I know
you're fired up. I'm gonna jump in here just because
I'm up against it. I don't know how you can
quit your team though, right I think that's a hard
thing to do if you're that passionate, Like as soon
as they start winning, are you back in? I mean,
you still live in Illinois, so you're still around them.
But I feel like these last two weeks, we've had

(01:36:25):
two general manager extensions for two teams that don't.

Speaker 2 (01:36:31):
Necessarily appear to be on the right track.

Speaker 3 (01:36:37):
The Bears might appear to be on the right track
more than the Steelers because you have the new, bright, young,
upcoming coach. You've got the number one pick in the
draft that you acquired through a very unique trade where
we felt like you would fleece the Panthers, and now
after Bryce Young got the right coach last, are you
pretty damn good? So? I I feel like we sometimes

(01:37:04):
give GMS too much credit. Sometimes we don't give him enough.
I feel like sometimes they get too much of the blame.
Sometimes I feel like they don't get enough of the blame.
But it's wild to me that two guys that probably
were in a position that their jobs would be in
question with another bad year. Both got extensions if the
Bears are bad this year, just like Sean said, an

(01:37:27):
act unacceptable, right, but yet heading into this year he
gets a big five year extension. Omar Khan same way,
But Omar is just now getting to put his stamp
on the franchise, right, He's finally been the guy now.
But if they're bad with Aaron Rodgers this year and
they can't figure out the TJ. Watt situation, I mean,

(01:37:49):
he's a guy that would find himself on the hot
seat at least around the league. So in a roundabout way,
I feel like that we've been able to preview the
NFL a bit with these conversations atlast few weeks. But
it's also kind of wild, right, It's a beauty in
the eye of the beholder. Like I look from Afar
and I say, my gosh, why in the world would

(01:38:10):
you give Omar Khan an extension now when there's so
many questions on this team and we still don't know
what's going on with TJ.

Speaker 2 (01:38:17):
Watt?

Speaker 3 (01:38:18):
And then I turn to the other side, I'm like,
why would you go ahead and give Ryan Polls an
extension now? Whenever This is kind of that make or
Break year. Just interesting from Afar. I look at it
and say, guys, yeah, you don't have to wretch this.
But the reality is they felt like they needed to
do something to keep both of them around and both
of them happy. All right, thanks Rod the calls and

(01:38:40):
I great stuff for the phone lines. When we come back,
Breeze three to take us home right here on.

Speaker 2 (01:39:08):
Bree Before we get into.

Speaker 3 (01:39:10):
Breeze three, I just heard the Ben Mallor promo and
it got me thinking about it. We haven't talked about
the extension for Devin Booker. How are you feeling about it?

Speaker 13 (01:39:19):
You know?

Speaker 2 (01:39:19):
I I oh, oh, can I hear Is she there? Brie? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:39:25):
Can you hear me now?

Speaker 2 (01:39:26):
Kind of what happened? Did you break something?

Speaker 4 (01:39:30):
Oh my, I'm in the anchor studio.

Speaker 2 (01:39:32):
Oh there you are?

Speaker 4 (01:39:32):
Okay, okay, good, okay.

Speaker 2 (01:39:34):
Coming in a little bit more clear. What happened? Why
does it sound like that?

Speaker 18 (01:39:37):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:39:40):
Anyway, it's better the Devin Booker extension. Good, Blaine, Oh
you happy?

Speaker 7 (01:39:44):
I am happy about it. I do feel okay, there
we go. I do feel I'm excited.

Speaker 4 (01:39:49):
Actually okay.

Speaker 7 (01:39:50):
Well, we were talking about Summer League earlier and not
trying to put too much stock into it, but like
now I'm putting stock into it because my team looks good.
They have like a lot of energy. I love Ryan done, Devin.
I don't know, like I think the there's like a
personal side of me that's like, Devin book or why
are you staying in Phoenix when it feels like there's
not going to be a future in the next like

(01:40:11):
five to six years, And the selfish side of me
is like, oh, at least I have something something that
like there's a possibility.

Speaker 22 (01:40:20):
Can maybe maybe I don't know, if you get something
from any of the acquisitions from the from the Rockets,
and you never know, maybe.

Speaker 4 (01:40:35):
Maybe Jalen Green a lot right too too? You really do?

Speaker 2 (01:40:39):
Oh no, I keep wanting to call him Jabari Smith.

Speaker 7 (01:40:42):
Yes, I love I loved Dylan Brooks. I think he's
a dog like, I think he's great.

Speaker 3 (01:40:48):
Are they going to keep him because there's all these
rumors about what maybe him ending up somewhere else or No.

Speaker 7 (01:40:55):
I think Jalen Green was like an option that they
were going to flip and like maybe get like pieces back.

Speaker 4 (01:41:01):
But I don't Dylan Brooks, No, I think it was
Jalen Green. They were looking to possibly a flip.

Speaker 2 (01:41:07):
There you go. So a little bit of hope for one.

Speaker 4 (01:41:09):
Any bit bit of a hope. But also I think
reality is it is what it is.

Speaker 3 (01:41:15):
I think reality is it's gonna be hard to stop
the thunder for a long time based on that big if.
As long as they stay healthy, they're gonna be hard
to stop. And staying healthy is a hard thing in
the NBA. All right, Time for Breeze threes. Let's get it,
not one but three.

Speaker 2 (01:41:32):
It's entertainment.

Speaker 1 (01:41:33):
It's breeze three.

Speaker 2 (01:41:39):
Bray, where are we going?

Speaker 7 (01:41:41):
Alrighty, So I'm we obviously opened the show talking about
the Lebron and Lakers drama. That was the first thing,
that's right, Okay, So we talked about Sante Samuel threw
some shade at the Dolphins earlier this week saw that's
talking about Mike McDaniel. Nobody respects him that organization, La
la la. So just some shade throwing that way. Terry

(01:42:03):
Bradshaw threw some shade at Tom Brady like over his contract.
I think that was this week or late.

Speaker 2 (01:42:09):
That was weird.

Speaker 7 (01:42:10):
Yeah, so just like a lot of drama. There's a
lot of drama happening right now.

Speaker 2 (01:42:15):
Agreed.

Speaker 7 (01:42:15):
Okay, So I was thinking kind of like a soap
opera theme of like different storylines and sports that were
very like soap opera e that we were kind of
just like all like paying attention to, like a little
timeline of like.

Speaker 4 (01:42:28):
A soap opera.

Speaker 7 (01:42:29):
Okay, okay, So in the world of sports, So my
first one, I'm gonna go the Donald Sterling controversy in
twenty fourteen.

Speaker 4 (01:42:37):
That was huge.

Speaker 7 (01:42:39):
I feel like that rock sports. I mean, I will
always remember that playoff game the Clippers and Warriors where
they all took off their warm up shirts.

Speaker 4 (01:42:48):
Yes, okay, so those like memories.

Speaker 7 (01:42:51):
And then like I would listen to ESPN LA because
they would just constantly just be talking about it and
there was you know, v Staviano and this and blah
blah and all this this back and forth and the
listening to the TMZ recordings. So that was like a
big soap opera that I remember completely like it.

Speaker 4 (01:43:10):
Okay, so that was the big I.

Speaker 2 (01:43:12):
Mean podcast TV shows.

Speaker 4 (01:43:14):
Yeah, that was a bad show. Did you see that
Blake Griffin guy in that Hulu show?

Speaker 2 (01:43:20):
It was it Hulu. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:43:22):
People, the people that they get to play sports pro
athletes in these docu dramas and movies are just terrible.

Speaker 7 (01:43:32):
Wait, but do you have high hopes for that Madden movie?

Speaker 13 (01:43:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:43:36):
Absolutely do.

Speaker 7 (01:43:37):
I do too, So I'm hoping that'll be like a good,
good one for one beautiful.

Speaker 4 (01:43:41):
So it was my first one.

Speaker 7 (01:43:43):
My second one was the twenty ten obviously Lebron the
decision that I had, Okay, yeah, so I felt like
that was like a whole thing. I remember where I
was watching that and when he was at the Boys
and Girls Club and I've decided to take my talents
to South Beach. Yeah yeah, oh my god, that was wild.
That was a big deal at that time. I'm pretty
sure it was huge.

Speaker 2 (01:44:04):
It was all we talked.

Speaker 4 (01:44:07):
And then so I was between two.

Speaker 7 (01:44:09):
For this last one, I I'm just gonna go yeah,
ray Rice, I think beating up his wife. I think
in the elevator that was like a little bit of
drama that was a little ongoing a little.

Speaker 3 (01:44:20):
Bit they screwed up. Whenever they're like, yeah, we're not
going to suspend him, then the video came.

Speaker 4 (01:44:25):
Out, we're gonna say we have to suspend him.

Speaker 7 (01:44:27):
Yeah, And I think I even think there was like
a number of games controversy of like it was going
to be like not that much and then they extended it.
I can't remember, but that was something I thought that
was like huge. And actually I have like a slight
story that year or the next year in my fantasy
football draft, for whatever reason, we were all all me

(01:44:48):
and like six other or seven other guys were all
at a friend's house. We're all drafting, and I guess
I got distracted and auto draft drafted ray Rice. Oh
my god, and like the one girl in our league
drafted ray Rice, and so it was everybody called me
like missus Rice for like the rest of the season.

(01:45:11):
They're like you should you should name your fantasy football
team like you know, Rai's babes or something.

Speaker 4 (01:45:17):
Yeah, it was bad.

Speaker 7 (01:45:18):
So those those yeah, those are my three. So Mark,
you're auto drafted. I was like, this is not good,
like against my own you know, suck my own gender.

Speaker 4 (01:45:29):
It's not good.

Speaker 9 (01:45:31):
Right, Well, I was thinking, so we talked about so
it's about drama. So I guess a current thing that
I thought about was football team names because nobody really
likes the Washington Commanders or the Cleveland whatever they're called Guardians.
So just that whole thing about that thing to change

(01:45:53):
the name because yes, outside influences and with the Washington team,
some of the people that in the community wanted a
certain name, and then they changed it for various reasons because,
just like I said, outside pressure making them try to
change the name, and they also tried to go off
after other teams. I was so glad that the Blackhawks

(01:46:17):
didn't change and get rid of the black Hawks, because
that would have been horrible. The fighting a Lion night.
They got rid of the Indian Heads, they got rid
of that, so they came for the pressure. But that
whole thing about naming teams. My second drama thing was
just the drama over Bill Belichick and whether he could

(01:46:39):
still coach with the so called distractions because he has
a new girlfriend. A lot of people have been going
crazy as if they think he's going to forget how
to coach and coach teams up and get people ready
to play football. His girlfriend is doing one thing, hanging
out thinking about him, but everybody seemed to focus on

(01:47:01):
his ability to know how to work with a team
and coach them up.

Speaker 10 (01:47:06):
Meanwhile, he hasn't played a game.

Speaker 9 (01:47:08):
Nothing is happening yet, so there's all speculation on everybody's
part that Bill doesn't know.

Speaker 10 (01:47:14):
How to do it.

Speaker 9 (01:47:15):
And then if he loses, you know, this season, he
will run right back to the NFL.

Speaker 10 (01:47:20):
So everybody's still going crazy about that. It's just a
lot of drama.

Speaker 9 (01:47:25):
And my third thing was just the basic, in my view,
the drama around the decline of basketball, between the ratings
and people don't like how the current players are playing,
and then they have to be compared to the teams
of the nineties or or teams of the eighties, and
just the whole it's the exact word. The drama around

(01:47:48):
effort and you know, taking time off and now injury.
So just those things about the decline of basketball and
can they hold themselves together and just keep it go.

Speaker 10 (01:48:00):
So that's my three.

Speaker 3 (01:48:01):
I love it, I love it all right, We're we're
gonna give Brandon next up ry Bray Yeah.

Speaker 23 (01:48:07):
Yeah, we ready, all right, So I have a few
different ones. I'm gonna start with something that maybe I
know you guys will remember it, but Matt Kemp Rihanna.
It's just something at the top of my head, Like
Matt Kemp was supposed to win that MVP. They gave
it to Ryan Braun, Granada Hills legend, who ended up
taking steroids whatever. Like I still think Matt camp should

(01:48:28):
won that MVP. But Dayton Rihanna career goes downhill after that.
Just interesting, I mean it was. It was like one
of those big drama things of the early twenty tens
when I was.

Speaker 2 (01:48:38):
Boy Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Speaker 23 (01:48:40):
Matt Kemp, Yeah, he's a great guy. I met him
once too, very nice, really liked him a lot. Second one,
I wanted to go Mark brought up a lot of
the football names, but I wanted to go into like
the contract hold out, specifically Leveon Bell, which I think
ruined his career when he sat out all those games,
and then obviously his career deterior after that. You know,

(01:49:01):
this is back when he was becoming he was like
a first second round fantasy pick back at that time too,
So I mean that's always and we see with James
Cook now, I mean that he was a pivotal part
of the Bills and he's still holding out for a
new contract and that happens all the time. Brandon Ayu
class year. So that's that's a big thing. Last thing
I wanted to bring up was the Houston Astros trash can.

Speaker 2 (01:49:21):
Yeah. I feel like that's the most obvious one.

Speaker 23 (01:49:24):
But I mean to this day as a big baseball guy,
but when it played the game, and obviously watch it
and love it, why was aj Hinch only given like
a slap on the wrist and Alex Korra and stuff
like that, and they keep the trophy and aj Hinches
is managing the Detroit Tigers right now. Yeah, I mean,
what what do we do with Alex Korra, who is

(01:49:46):
arguably some people would say the mastermind of that is
still managing the Red Sox. Won the World Series, by
the way, with the Red Sox after that, and then
they got investigated while he was with the Red Sox
and still nothing happened.

Speaker 2 (01:50:00):
I've got three that I haven't mentioned yet.

Speaker 3 (01:50:03):
I like all those two. That's really good number. One
OJ the OJA.

Speaker 10 (01:50:09):
I used it.

Speaker 4 (01:50:10):
I didn't live it.

Speaker 3 (01:50:11):
Oh yeah, Oh I lived it. I lived it, of
course I was. I was young, but I lived it.
So I would say OJ number one. Number two is
near and dear to my heart. And maybe not so
much on a national scale, but if you lived in
a college town during conference realignment, it was day to day,
minute by minute shifts. Now I was pretty lucky because

(01:50:35):
once Oklahoma and Texas went to the SEC kind of settled,
things simmered down, like simmered down to it, so you
don't have to worry about it.

Speaker 2 (01:50:43):
But then it's like, oh it, yes, SEC.

Speaker 3 (01:50:44):
Gonna add more, It's gonna happen in the Big twelve.
It's back twelve, still going to exist. I mean, we
are on probably about year five, year four of constant
conference realignment in college sports, and that drama never and
there's always. Look at SMU. SMU bought their way into
the SEC. They're not taking a share from the ACC

(01:51:07):
for years. They're just like, no, man, we just want
to hang and they're winning. And then third and this
is one that I can't believe nobody brought up yet.
Come on the kneeling on the anthem.

Speaker 21 (01:51:20):
Controversy, Colin Kaepernick, Colin Kaepernick, and then the Jerry Jones
showmanship whenever he did his thing and apparently whatever happened
in the locker room at halftime.

Speaker 2 (01:51:30):
The Lakers are Lakers. Excuse me.

Speaker 3 (01:51:32):
The Raiders game against the when they were the Redskins
on what was that Sunday Night football?

Speaker 2 (01:51:37):
I mean, yeah, something that was something.

Speaker 3 (01:51:41):
The funniest thing that I do remember saying during that
and you can feel all you want about Jason Whitlock,
but when he said that, when he made the joke
about a red zone for the anthem to go to
different stadiums to see who was kneeling and who wasn't,
It's like, all right, welcome to kneeling red zone. But yeah,
that was crazy. Oh there were battle lines that were drawn,

(01:52:02):
holy smokes man. But yeah, those were three for me.
And I did have the Pete Rose mentioned here like
as an honorable mention, but I don't, you know, I
was really young then. I don't remember the ins and
outs of it. Brandon you might better, but I don't
remember I commediately after they suspended him or anything of

(01:52:22):
that nature. I just remember he got caught and that
was it. But those were my three for Breeze. Three
on this Friday Night, anything else and nearly made the
cut for you, bree anything else, Brandon or Mark that
nearly made the cut for you tonight.

Speaker 7 (01:52:39):
I like the Aaron Rodgers saga my dad. My dad
reminded me of that, like that was obviously ongoing forever.

Speaker 3 (01:52:46):
And it's funny because I think we're going back if
you want to. We got to go back to his
final year in green Bay because that off season before
he got traded. Hold on man, he goes straight from
green Bay to the Jets. Before he got traded to
the Jets, Remember they had he was at the golf
tournament and he was miked up, and he's playing that

(01:53:08):
golf tournament and he kept asking about everyone's trying to
read in everything that he was saying, and it's like, wait,
is he even gonna play?

Speaker 2 (01:53:16):
Is he going to retire?

Speaker 3 (01:53:18):
And I guess in that too, bree The Aaron Rodgers
you could rewind a while. The Brett Farv offseason drama
was something else. Every single year near the end of
his career, he was either retiring or coming back, and
then he want it out. Then he was retired and
then he magically came back as a Viking. I mean,
it was crazy to try to figure that out.

Speaker 4 (01:53:38):
The Packers quarterbacks in general, soap opera.

Speaker 2 (01:53:41):
How about it?

Speaker 9 (01:53:42):
Oh, go ahead, Mark, I'm sorry, I guess more drama
about baseball, whether you're going to put a man on
second base, whether the base yeah, and just having the
picture clock right, and just the whole conversation around baseball
fans don't love the same way, which is yeah, something
I talk about a lot that no one, all the

(01:54:05):
various hosts don't really talk about baseball. I understand why,
but it's like they just completely erase baseball and no
one talks about it until something happens.

Speaker 3 (01:54:16):
By the way, he brought up the Astros, Eddie tweets
out his Dodger fans just need to move on from
the Astros. You're just needlessly reopening wounds. Oh it's so true.
It's so true. I would say, there's a lot of
Mike Tyson drama. And and again I know we're up
against it, but there's a lot of Mike Tyson drama.

(01:54:39):
I feel like, I feel like from his rape allegations
whenever he was at the top of his game to
the whole marriage Robin Gibbons.

Speaker 2 (01:54:53):
Were they ever married? I think they were.

Speaker 3 (01:54:55):
My point is there was always some sort of drama
away from the ring with him, from the moment that
he became an omnipresent rock star.

Speaker 10 (01:55:02):
I thought you're gonna say, Jake, Paul and Tyson, Now, well.

Speaker 3 (01:55:05):
There was that too. There was that too. You could
just add that to the mix. All right, we'll get
a break, we'll come back. Get a couple of your
tweets on this. I got some final thoughts and a
mini plank parlay coming up right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:55:18):
All right, fun show tonight. The Fellows are coming up next.

Speaker 3 (01:55:22):
K fig is back, baby, so be listening to Kevin
Figures and Aunt coming up next to Anthony's in right. Yes,
I usually try to do a good job of looking
at the schedule. I failed miserably this week, but I
did see k Fig, so that's coming up next. Also,
I do want to remind you of a couple of things. First,
you can always find us, Always find us the brand

(01:55:43):
new iHeartRadio app and I say brand new, but it's
it's a new look for it. So you can find
the pre set right there on the top. Except Fox
Sports Radio, and that's a new feature you can preset select.
Fox Sports Radio is one of your presets, just like
on your radio dials, a pre set Fox Sports. It's
radio on the iHeart Radio app and it will always
pop up at the top.

Speaker 2 (01:56:03):
Of your screen.

Speaker 3 (01:56:03):
And don't forget about Brian Knowen Is I say Evolving
Crew because different different fam on Sat, different fam on Sunday.
But it's the best pregame show on the dial. It's
Fox Sports Radio's Countdown. It's presented by bet MGM every
Saturday and Sunday morning from nine a to in eastern
sixty to nine A Pacific time, and of course we'll
counting down to all the biggest games. That's Countdown presented

(01:56:24):
by bet MGM every Saturday and Sunday morning, or right
here on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeart Radio app.

Speaker 2 (01:56:29):
Okay, before I get.

Speaker 3 (01:56:30):
To my parlay, a couple of other submissions for Breeze three,
which were drama, slash soap opera tite moments off the field,
Brandon brought up a good one, the steroid era, and
maybe when I say the steroid era, that is a
little too all encompassing. But when guys started to get busted,

(01:56:51):
and then you could carry it over to the debate
about if they belonged in the Hall of Fame or not.
That was and still is a fascina any conversation.

Speaker 13 (01:57:00):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:57:00):
Mike the Leprechaun jumped in on Twitter and said, no
one mentioned the Michael Jordan drama. He played minor league
baseball for a few years after he was suspended for gambling,
and I thought this was pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:57:16):
He and.

Speaker 3 (01:57:19):
Maybe we need to do a breech three on favorite conspiracies.
Have we already done that?

Speaker 4 (01:57:23):
No, we haven't.

Speaker 2 (01:57:24):
We haven't.

Speaker 3 (01:57:25):
That's one of those conspiracies that I'm I'm still work
shopping on. How I feel like the idea that David
Stern told Michael Jordan that he's got to suspend him
and he's got to get away from the game.

Speaker 2 (01:57:37):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:57:38):
I don't know if I buy that or not, especially
with where the NBA was at that time, right because
it was kind of cooking. And then Nature Boy with
maybe my favorite miss by us tonight because it was
a fascinating story. He's got two of them, he says,
current day Caitlin Clark versus Angel Reaes, Please make it stop,

(01:57:59):
but honorable minch Manti Tale, The Catfish, the fake Girlfriend.

Speaker 2 (01:58:05):
Yeah exactly. I still haven't watched that in Netflix, Sundy
to Go.

Speaker 12 (01:58:10):
I'm good.

Speaker 4 (01:58:10):
It's so good.

Speaker 7 (01:58:11):
I was like, so didn't want to watch it, and
I think my dad convinced me to watch.

Speaker 10 (01:58:15):
It was so good.

Speaker 2 (01:58:16):
I hate to.

Speaker 3 (01:58:17):
Admit this now, but I feel like I feel like
I can't be judged too much. The story about the
dying and sick girlfriend was really kind of something that
pushed me over the edge and voting for him for
the Heisman. Matt and I saw him in person and
he absolutely dominated the two times I saw him in

(01:58:38):
person that year, and I thought, you know what, notre
names gonna go play for national championship. Stude's dealing with
his girlfriend that's dying and sick throughout the entire season
and he's doing this. Ah, it's got to be the
Heisman Trophy winner. And then you found out that she
didn't even exist, but he was still dealing with it,

(01:58:58):
right right, He didn't oh that she wasn't real, No, buddy,
it was a factor in my voting.

Speaker 2 (01:59:05):
Okay, he still had naughty.

Speaker 4 (01:59:07):
It was it was something that was happening.

Speaker 3 (01:59:09):
It was real. Oh and then right under the wire,
Right under the wire, Craig gets in before the plank parlay.
My three or these from the seventies, the NFL criminal
Element trial because receivers were getting knocked out. Number two,
the OJ trial. The glove doesn't fit, you must have
quit a. Number three, the nineteen seventies NBA drug scandal.

(01:59:33):
Oh it's your sons, it's your Phoenix Suns that was
out for my time allegedly. That's good, correct, that's good.
All right, Hey, let's let's get a mini plank parlay
in here. Speaking of the NBA, I'm all about the
summer league.

Speaker 2 (01:59:48):
Here we go.

Speaker 3 (01:59:50):
A lot of people look at parlay's as what profitability.
I like the amount of money I could win, probability.
Based on what it shows me, I can possibly want
the plane.

Speaker 2 (01:59:59):
You decide if you want to b It's the plank parlay.

Speaker 3 (02:00:02):
We whipped last week. I feel like results matter. Dodgers
did not bounce back in the way that they should.
So I've decided to give the old birdie to the
Dodgers in a Major League baseball and I'm shifting all
my funds too.

Speaker 2 (02:00:15):
This summer league. Poppy sold me on it.

Speaker 3 (02:00:19):
Here we go give me the Spurs minus one over
the Mavericks today. I'll take OKC minus three and a
half in the much anticipated NBA Finals rematch. Nobody's saying that,
and uh, I'll take the Lakers plus the one it
started minus one. Now it's plus one against New Orleans Pelicans.
Lebron James looking pretty good, Bronnie James, I guess I

(02:00:39):
should say. I know he missed the potential game winning
three and it was an airball. I think it was tipped.
But to me, I think he's look pretty good. I
think he's looked pretty awesome. So there's your plank parlay. Obviously,
these will go a little bit more in depth as
we get closer to a football season and into the
NFL exhibition season. But give me the Spur minus one

(02:01:00):
in the summer league, give me the Thunder minus three
and a half, and I'll take the Lakers, which right
now is at plus one. Pre great job tonight, as always,
mark your rock star, Brandon, thanks for sitting in. We'll
be back next Friday night. Don't forget. I'll be back
next next Sunday night. On Sunday night, I guess now,
as far as the time zones are concerned Tomorrow night
from ten p to one a Central Time with Arnie

(02:01:22):
Spaniard The Stinking Genius stick Around.

Speaker 2 (02:01:25):
The Fellas are next on Fox Sports Radio
