I know you guys are thinking, as a Bandwagon thunder fan,
like Plank's gonna come in here and freak out about

Positive, very confident for Oklahoma City heading into Game seven.
But I don't know if we've seen anything that's had
quite two different momentum swings in a series like this,
I vehemently push back on notes. You're like, man, it's
just like the Nugget series.

There is never game the Nuggets series where the thunderstarters
were sitting out the entire fourth quarter and Oklahoma City
deep and beat Indiana like they did Denver in Game
two and then eventually in Game seven. But we'll talk
about that later. I think I'm becoming old man, Get

Now. Fifty is kind of that time where it shifts.

I've noticed I'm into a little bit more on what
did Shane Gillis always say, you start watching Fox News
and you're into like World War two history. Find myself
being guilty of that. Can't do the news shows, but
maybe a little bit more digging into like the history
of wars and things of that nature.

But I got very triggered by two stories.

One I haven't heard anyone talk about, and that's the
fact that the Rams took a mini camp to Hawaii,
which you would think you would celebrate, but here I
am like, well you tried to accomplish here, Sean McVay.

And I'm kind of old man, but not really on
the Schador Sanders story. I know Colin Coward today was like,
I'm out. I can't have my guys getting speeding tickets.
But there is this other part of me that there
is this whole generation of athletes that we compare this
new era too, that we have no idea what they

were like away from the field. We have no idea
what they were like twenty four to seven in their
personal lives. I mean, even Brady falls into that mix.
The guy need my quarterbacks to be more like Tom Brady. Wow, bro,
you didn't know anything Tom Brady, not you personally, Colin.
I'm just saying the royal you. No one knew what
Tom Brady was doing during his first year. We just assume,

you know, nobody knows what Joe Montana was doing. You'll
hear a few stories, Troy Aikman, You'll hear a few stories.
But we didn't have twenty four to seven, three sixty
five access. If these dudes got pulled over nine out
of ten times, it was like, hey, man, get home.
You know, it doesn't suddenly become where an officer has
the video and you're seeing everything in real time. I mean,
it's just we whacked so nostalgically about the good old days.

It's like, I need my quarterback to be more like this,
this and this. Well, hell, we didn't have access to
what those men were like in those moments. And that's
not really me coming to the defense of Shador Sanders
except to say I've got a little bit more maybe
grace in this instance. But I also know that every

single time someone gets caught speeding in any form, right, oh,
it's just a speeding ticket. At least he wasn't drunk, right,
we always go to the worst possible thing. He was
speeding but didn't kill anyone, right what? So you basically
need a death or drunk in order to truly gage

how bad something was. Okay, I don't have a big
problem with it, but I do want to talk about it.
And I guess it just shows you that I don't
think there's another quarterback that got drafted on the third
day that we are going to talk about at all,
Like we're going to talk about Shador Sanders, And it's understandable.

Aaron Rodgers' stories that are kind of trickling out. I
thought what Stink said earlier this week, I think that's

but four titles, and you've done it with three different franchises.
I guess it's a little bit easier to say that,
and the infatuation with the ring culture when you have four.
But I also, I don't know that I agree with it,
And then it got me thinking, you know, what exactly

does matter? In the NBA anymore because we have a
whale of a series going on and nobody wants to
talk about it. I sat here last week. Last week
we were getting ready to catch them. NBA stretched this
thing out so far. What we're getting ready for Game
four by that point was a two to one three anyway,
and I couldn't buy anyone wanted to call in and

talk about the series. I could have said, I'm going
to pay you to call this program to talk about
the thunder Yes or series at eight seven seventy eight
seven seven ninety nine one Fox eight seven seven nine
nine six sixty three sixty nine. And I still couldn't
do it. It still didn't happen. I mean, y'all have your

own agendas, and that's fine. I can accept that.

take he had on the ring culture, and then everyone
wants to get into what their team's going to do

which I do every single night pretty much, and earlier
tonight Jason Smith.

There is this faction of NBA fans, faction and maybe
even you say pull back and say sports fans that
are ready to talk about their team. So like, can
I can you stop forcing me to feign interest in
this finals?

It's the Pacers and the and the Thunder, It's Indiana
and Oklahoma City, my gosh, get this thing over so
we can truly get into where Durant's gonna go and
if the Knicks are gonna be aggressive, and what's gonna
happen with Lebron James and what's ah And it's like,
I don't know, I don't know what NBA fans truly
want or need. I mean, you look at you look

at some of the things that's set off the baits
in the NBA world, and you're like, well, why.

Why is that happening right now?

So I'll do my best, and Mark's making me feel
a little bit better about that. I'll do my best
to keep it focused on the game itself. But I
don't know if that's what you want. I don't know
if that's what fans are truly into right now. The
TV ratings say no. Now, I've learned not to live
my life by TV ratings for a very long time,

especially without few of you actually watch anything on TV
outside of sports. I mean, I can't wait for the
NFL season. Whenever I'm watching CBS and there is a
commercial break and the one time I'm maybe not watching
the red Zone and CBS comes on and says the
new breakout hit of the season, and I'm like, I've

never heard of this show in my life. I have
no idea what this TV show is that they're telling
me is the new breakout show of the year or
America's number one TV show that I've never heard of
before in my life. But so to me, I don't
get too caught up in TV ratings. I know a
lot of people will use it to fit an argument
because it's easy to do that, and they say, well,

what show do you watch on TV? And nine out
of ten times like, well, I watch sports. I mean,
I don't know anyone that as a regular TV show
outside of like American Idol or America's Got Talent or
do they still do Survivor or Big Brother? I mean
these no one has a TV show that they watch
that they're into. Nobody, it just doesn't exist. So that's

why I don't try to live my life too terribly
much on TV ratings.

But to take a full circle back to the series.

In the NBA, I just I kind of feel like
the games have been worth a conversation we're talking about.
We do have some NBA Draft stuff that is very
fascinating leading up to the end of the season, which
will be on Sunday night, and then the Draft, which
is like next week So if you'd like to dive

kind of.

We've got ring culture debates, We've got oh I failed
to mention college football has another signature moment that's taking

place this weekend. But then, of course baseball's aggressiveness and
I'm here for it. Whenever I started in radio, way
back in the nineteen hundreds, I I was I was
maybe the original hot take warrior. You know, I'm glad
those tapes don't exist. I think there might have been
a few. Is the NBA two foreign Let's take your

phone calls next topics. I'll just say, hey, listen, feel
like if I'm on it's that's the key. But I'll
never forget way back in those nineteen hundreds, I came
out and there was a couple brawls. I think like
ninety seven ninety six, and I point out, like, man,
I love fights in baseball. Give me more fights in baseball.
I'm all about it. You come up and in, you

go punch that guy right, hot takey stuff. Flame throwing
before flame throwing was a thing. And someone wrote me
a letter. Yeah, I got a letter that was into
the office. My dad was very upset because his son
was sitting with him while he was listening to this

radio show and he heard me talking about how baseball
should have more fights, and how his son was very.

Amused by this. Now to me, I thought, hey, I
just gained another listener for life.

But our son was amused by this because his son
had just had an issue with getting a little aggressive,
and his dad's point was, son, you don't fight in baseball.

And it always made me feel kind of bad. I
was always a little bit now reticent, maybe a little
bit hesitant to go two all in on my take
that I love fights in baseball because I'm like, oh, man,
there's the emerging ears of the next generation of baseball
players that are listening, and I can't have them out
there just throwing hands I was very taken back by this.

I was very affected by this for a long time.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Then I reached about my early thirties, and I got
in my forties, and I'm in my fifties, and I think,
I think this is kind of what baseball needs right now.

I mean, what do we think about the big stories?

We've spent countless hours not on a game NBA Finals series,
we won't quite a Game seven yet, but we've spent
more probably radio time topic hours debating the shoving and
the physical play of Caitlin Clark. Then we have on
NBA Game seven on Fox Sports Radio.

I mean, we really have.

And now you think about it in baseball, you know,
I just just this week, you had Dennis Santana swing
on a fan in the dugout, in the bullpen. You
had Dave Roberts versus the Padres, the Padres versus the Dodgers,
the Dodgers versus Fernando Tatis, Junior Anaheim and Houston. Tonight
there was a little shout feest. You had Boston and
San Francisco with Eraaldus Chapman kind of going at it

So I'm here for it.

I have moved the past my day of being affected
by that letter that was sent to me way back
in the day about affecting some young boy's mindset who
was sitting next to his father in the car. Because
I think this is what baseball needs. It gets it
in the headlines. I don't want it to get carried away.
We don't need dudes going Jose Offerman and swinging bats
at pitchers or kicking catchers to get him out of

the way while they charged them. But I I like
seeing tensions this high. It shows me that you care.
Now the bullpen swing on a fan is a different world.
And I'm a little bit pissed to Major League Baseball
for just the immediate four game suspension.

didn't get volunteer. I got VOLUNTEERLD that I have to

take next week off. So this is I'm I don't
know if you're still allowed to say emptying the Chamber
of Takes, but I'm throwing it all out there tonight.
So if the Thunder loose on Sunday, I'm still gonna
be in on Sunday nights. You can't tell me that
I'm taking off because the Thunder lost. And I'm a
bandwagon fan anyway, which means I'll celebrate like crazy if
they win and I'll just move on to the NBA

how many times have we heard about a team planning

right off chance is a respectful way to say that.

prepared for a celebration and just being ready having all
