Speaker 1 (00:01):
You don't listening to Fox Sports Radio radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Well, good morning, good morning, good morning.

Speaker 3 (00:06):
Welcome Fox Football Saturday.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
As uh we.

Speaker 4 (00:13):
We let's go go, let's go, let's go.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Are you ready?

Speaker 4 (00:17):
Let's go? I watched the game last time. I'm tired.
I was watching Arizona my Wildcats pat Kansas State last night.
So we got I love when we went on a
Friday night and make Saturday more enjoyable.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
You know, Yes, it's like Thursday night football like today. Yeah,
you know, going in tomorrow, Packer fans are gonna love
it because they'll sit back watch all the games on
Sunday without any angst, sitting on a nice fat wanted
a nice fat victory.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
They're the best team in the NFL right now, Arnies,
not existing power rankings. They're number one. They got to
be right. They they look fair.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Six week two. Today, you're very good.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
I love Today shows today, Anthony, and as of today,
they're not.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
You gotta go out, overboard, overboard, Arnie.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Yeah, Action Saturday. There you go.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Yeah, the uh listen, they're very good and we'll get
to it. But we have a habit of crowning teams
in September and then we crown them again in October
in November, and it just asked the Lions how we
crowned them last year? And you know, it's the shame
of what happened to the Lions. They were such a

(01:33):
great That team was terrific.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
It was so good.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
You know, you think about back in the last October
and they're burying teams.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
But you know, I told they got hit by injuries
and they were bad.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
You're speaking about injuries. I'm sorry, you're speaking about injuries.
I fight with Chris Plank about this all the time.
I think, and whoever I fill in with, I think
the days of having one quarterback, and when they go
to a teen games of the days of one quarterback
starting all eighteen games will be out the window. You're
starting quarterback, there'll be a little load. Management will probably
go about what fifteen games, and then when you play

(02:11):
that Thursday after a Sunday, maybe you're not playing a
very good team. Maybe he's got a slight nagging injury.
You're gonna need a backup quarterback to start two or
three games a year just to keep the starter fresh.
There's no way your quarterback's gonna exist and start all
eighteen games anymore.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Yeah, well, I agree with you, and I'll tell you
what else agrees with you. Howie Roseman agrees with you.
Hali Roseman's the GM of the Eagles, right right, and
here they have a backup who they love. Tanner McKee
came out of Stanford, right and they love him all right.

(02:47):
In fact, there were offers for him and the Eagles
will and Eagles shot him all down, some pretty good offers,
and they shout him down because they know that God
forbid something happened.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
It doesn't need to be catastrophic.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
No, But like you look at look at Rock Purty
this week, Rocks and Matt Jones is going in.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Now, Matt Jones isn't any good, right.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
He's okay, He's okay, He's serviceable for two to five weeks.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Though I don't know that he's I don't know that
he's serviceable. I mean, I don't think he's any good.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
And I think there's a huge drop ball from mac
Jones course to Purty. So you know, and how we
will say, this is why I'm not dealing Tanner McKee
because I know he can play in my offense.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
I know he can win games.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
He won last year and having a guy like that
in case Jalen hurts something happens to him is a
big deal.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
So of course I agree with you.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
You got you gotta have a good backup, you know, Miami,
how Zach Wilson now and he's actually looked pretty good
in the preseason. I'm wondering, you know, when you get
to a better team, even though they're not better, the
Dolphins look horrible. I'm just one thing, when you get
to a different team, how much better you get? Like
Mac Jones now that he's in San Francisco, is he
gonna look any better because he didn't have a great

(04:07):
New England team. I'm just wondering how these guys trends,
you know, take the next level when they get to
a better team.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
There Anthony Well, Daniel Jones. I think Jones, like Daniel Jones,
is that now in a good system with a good
coach and stich in, He's got good weapons around him and.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
You know, look, you know week one he played well.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
He played fas Hall of Famer. After Week one, my goodness, man,
he was fantastic. He did stuff that wasn't done in
like a century. He let him on scores in all
seven series, even when they went to punt, the Dolphins
ran into them and they got the ball back and
they scored. He looked fantastic. And I told Chris Plank
this on Sunday night. I always liked him. I always

(04:53):
thought he could play, but he was just playing on
a not very good Giants team, so all he had
to do was get around a better team. And and
he really looks very good. I mean, he looks fantastic.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Yeah, I mean I still think he's here just a
cap to what he is. But of course, you know again,
you know you're in a good spot, right. You have
a good line, you have a good system. I mean,
so much of that stuff is imperative for a quarterback
to have.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
To succeed, like you just you just need it.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Now, let's get back to the Packers, because I know
people already going, oh, I'm already sick of the Packers.
We're so We're so funny as football fans, right, we
hate when one team dominates.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
The headlines hate.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
It, like people automatically start to get tired of it already.
And already we got a tweet already saying, oh no, already,
you guys are gonna crown the media is crowning the Packers. Now,
we do have a habit of doing that. But Green
Bay is very good. Obviously, you get Michael Parsons to

(05:57):
add him to a group that was top five in
sacks last year.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
That defense is legit. But your run defense is very good.
You know what.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
I'm sorry jumping, but you know what you're proving, Anthony.
The days of saying you need a quarterback, like the
best top three quarterback to take it to the super Bowl,
those days might be over. I mean, Jordan loves a
good quarterback, but but no means is even a top
five or top seven quarterback in the NFL. He's a
serviceable good quarterback. You just don't need a Josh Allen

(06:27):
or Jalen Hurtz or you know, Lamar Jackson every time.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Yeah, I like Love now I do.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
He's okay, He's okay.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Yeah, I think he's better than Okay. You like Matt Jones,
but you don't like well, Mack Jones.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
The backup is a backup.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Are you're giving me Matt Jones love and I can't
get Jordan Love love?

Speaker 4 (06:47):
Uh well, we'll see, we'll see up. Hey, Look, he's
a good I give him like a B. I wouldn't
even give him a B plus, I give him about
a B. We'll see what he does this year, but
as of now, they don't you like him?

Speaker 2 (06:59):
That him.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
I don't know if he's gonna put up the big numbers.
But then again, he doesn't have to put up the
big numbers, Anthony. But he has such a great team,
and now his defense looks fantastic. You know, they say
defense wins Super Bowls. They've got the defense, so maybe
the doesn't never have to put up those big numbers.
The days of any way of the quarterbacks like Dan
Marino putting up three hundred and fifty yards passing, those
days are gone anyway, really, to be honest.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Well, I don't know about that, but I mean every
team like Jalen Hurts doesn't put up big numbers, right,
but he's he's a winner as a quarterback, right, So
you know, I do think at some point Matthew Golden
will help them in a big way.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
He's legitimate.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Just having him on the field, you see a difference, right,
just him on the field. The fact that you got
to account for a kid that can stretch the field
like gold Again, he had two targets, dit catch a
pass last week, but he did have an impact because
defense is have to pay attention to him. So that's
going to create space on the field. So Dobbs can work, right,

(08:07):
Reid can work.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Hurt he Craft, did you see Reid didn't He break
his collar bone? So he's gonna be out.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
For a while.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
Man, that's gonna hurt.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Well, he's gonna get surgey on the collar bone.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
You could be back and he'll be back in six
to eight weeks, but not hurtuch, which yeah, yeah, I know,
and and uh but again you know they got wis right,
you got players and Tucker Craft is a hell of
a tight end.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Oh he looked good. He had some big catches. Some
blond ones do.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Yeah, yeah, they're they're I'm a big lat Floor fan too.
I think he's a terrific coach. Like when you see
guys wide open like that, they're schemed wide open. That
that's the coaches, that's the brilliance of a of a
head coach, that when they're wide open the way Tucker
Craft was at times.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
By the way, since we're on that game, and look,
I know it's only week two, but is Jane Daniels
having a little bit of a sophomore slump out there
hasn't looked all that great.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
And by the way, I heard the reports that he
was limping real bad. You gotta watch out for his
knee and see what the latest report on that is.
I haven't seen the injury report, but is he having
a little bit of a sophomore stuff like CJ. Stroud
did when he had that great joy?

Speaker 2 (09:26):
No, no, Jane, that wasn't real. Jade Daniels that game.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
Well, he only had two hudred yards passing though. It's
not like he's putting up the big numbers there, Antony
the last two Yeah, look stats, I watched the game.
I watched the first game too, But.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
How could you put it on? How could you put
it on him?

Speaker 4 (09:44):
I'm not putting on him. I'm just wondering if he's
gonna put up the like last year he was fantastic.
I mean, the numbers just rolled in and I know
we're only two weeks in, but is he gonna have
those type of numbers again? I was wondering the thing
I hate.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
I hate this, I hate this conversation. I argue you
with people all the time. Like when we talk about quarterbacks.
First of all, he's not CJ. Stroud He's he's a
much better quarterback than c J.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Stroud is. And I like CJ.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
But move is can move He's there's no there's no
sophomore slump with him.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Now. They may not be what they were last year.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
There's a there's a degree of regression that you would
have to take that you have to you're gonna undertake
of your Washington because they won a lot of games,
a lot of close games.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Right.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
The same thing with the Chiefs when it came to
regression when you look at all the all the all
the wins that they when you win all those close
games like that, there's going to be some sort of
the following year regression because you just can't win like
that all the time.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
The odds, the odds catch up to you.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
If we had Jayde Daniels on the phone right now
and I said, Jayden, give me your grade for this
year so far. You're two hundred and thirty three yards
against the Giants and you're two hundred yards against the
Packers in the lost.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
I don't care about numbers. I'm out looking for numbers. Yeah, yeah,
and by the way, you know pays defense. You watch
the game, you saw them on their concert.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
Duress who Jayden Daniels, Yes, of course he was. Yeah, absolutely,
and that's that's why I'm worried about his knee. But
if you asked him, what does he what does his
play so far, he'll say he's probably playing like a
C C minus and he's got to get better and
the team's got to get better. They have to win
against the Giants, but they weren't very impressive in that.
I'm gonna keep my own Washington. I thought this was

(11:42):
gonna be a phenomenal year for them. I'm pumping the
brakes on them right now.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
Yeah, I I listen. I going into it. I thought
they'd have a regression. I think they're good. I think
they're the They're the second best team in the NFC East. Yes, yes,
But you know, as far as anything, I don't. I
don't think that there there's sophomore slumps or you know,
Jaye Daniels is not a top six seven quarterback in

(12:11):
the league. I think that's pretty obvious. I mean, just
watch the way the kids throw the football. Watch a
kid away moves around the pocket, were out of the pocket.
He's just a tremendous player.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
Maybe I'm just mad because he's not putting up enough
fantasy points for me. Answer.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
You know what, dude, I'm listening to you talk numbers
and it goes right up my gigee.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
I got it, die, I freaking I love fantasy fantasy football.
I love it. But you can't judge players that way.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
No, I know that, I know that. I just you know,
they played the Giants. I knew Green Bay was going
to be tough. They they were okay against the Giants.
We'll see how they turn out this year. That division
is not very tough. They're looking that they got the
Cowboys and the Giants in that division. It's just going
to be them in Philadelphia. So it's the two top
and the two bottoms, so they'll be okay there. There
won't be any problem, was there.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
I feel like I gotta go it. I feel like
I got to put you on the couch.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
We always argue we're fifteen minutes in.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
You've driven me nuts for fifteen minutes.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Last time I was on, I drove you nutscause I
said we're tired of Monday night football, remember, And you
were like I remember, I.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
Remember, I love you. You're you are a treasure, right,
You're a treasure. But when you hit me with you
want to get rid of Monday Night Football, I didn't
know what to do, dude.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
I mean, honestly, I.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Don't know how like I think, sometimes you need to
be medicated.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
I've heard that before.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
I got you.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
My wife, Yeah, yes, that's my wife.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Yes, I'm sure she might be like, dude, you just
got to go go to the other room and told
to yourself.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
You know what's so funny is I was looking up
the ratings after we got off the air, and I
couldn't find the ones I was looking for. I wanted
to prove to you how Monday Night Football went down
in ratings and how people to stop watching it and
all that don't want to stop.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
Watch Monday light football, freaking nut. Who's who's stopping wasn't
especially now that they moved it to ABC for most
of the year.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
It's so late, though, Anthony, man, I mean you, if
you got to get.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
Up early, it's it's in eight twenty o'clock. It's in
eight twenty.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
Yeah. Now it gets done like what eleven forty five midnight?

Speaker 3 (14:26):
You know, yo, it doesn't Resatgerate. It starts at eight
twenty and it's over by eleven thirty.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
It's a little late here on the East coast, but
you're on the East coast too, yesh, Philly, what do
you mean it's late?

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Sunday night football is late?

Speaker 4 (14:42):
Yes, it is, well not stop.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Actually, it shouldn't even say it's late. It's it's the
same thing.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
It's eight twenty, and I'll give you one either Monay,
get rid of Sunday night football or get rid of
Monday night football. You could get rid of one, all right,
how about that.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
I'm not getting rid of alty of them.

Speaker 4 (14:56):
Why do I want to go for Thursday or Thursday?

Speaker 3 (15:00):
I know people who hate Thursday night football exactly, No,
exactly exactly, but just because I know a couple of
goofballs like you hate Thursday night football?

Speaker 2 (15:14):
What the first thing?

Speaker 5 (15:16):
You know?

Speaker 3 (15:17):
It was great. I was talking to my cousin, uh
Thursday night. It was probably about seven o'clock, and he's like,
what are you doing?

Speaker 2 (15:25):
I was, I was just.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
Getting done practic football practice. I said, it's great. I'm
gonna go home and watch. I said, go on home.
We got He's like, any great that we got football
all the night. Good game, and I'm like, dude, yes,
it's so great to have it back. Sunday Night and
Monday Night were epic. I mean, Bears and and and Vikings.

(15:49):
Monday Night from Chicago was fantastic and Bill's Ravens was historic.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
That was that was incredible. I was on the air,
we were the Eric Plank and I when that game
was going on and to comeback, and you know, it's
funny because you're trying to do the show. You're trying
to watch the game and you're looking up and you're like,
wait a minute, because you maybe miss a play or two,
and you're like, are they going to come back and
win this? Did I miss something here? You know, as

(16:16):
you're trying to do the show. But that was that
was a great comeback. That was fantastic.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
Yeah, man, are you kidding me? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (16:23):
Leads right into my show too.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
I'm believable. But what with finter and you want to
get rid of that?

Speaker 4 (16:30):
I just think, you know, as Mark Cuban once said, oversaturation,
but the ratings don't suffer on the Sunday Night or
anything like that, though, I dude, we're looking We're not
in the same studio. I have to worry about you.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
Yeah, you I just don't. I don't, I don't, I
don't whatever.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
I don't you Well, what what the fact that you
would say to get rid of.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
One of those I love all sports. You know, I'm
a college foot ball guy. I do love the NFL,
but I like watching the NBA also. You know, it's funny, Auntie,
because you you had the show on an hour beforehand
and you were talking about your your blessed was your
kids loved sports. I was thinking to myself because when
my kid was growing up, he didn't really get in

(17:16):
the football or basketball. He just did nothing but hockey hockey.
Right my My TV was constantly on the NHL channel.
I mean, my goodness, man, I couldn't.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
That's awesome. He loved sports.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
So he just loves hockey, not sports, just.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
Hockey hockey at least he want he loves a sport.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
Yes, yes, I couldn't care about the football really the basketball,
he knows everything about it, but yeah, he just got
into hockey. But I did enjoy your your show beforehand.
I'm just like, hey, let's take it another further further.
What happens when your kids done with college. If he
doesn't make the NFL, what about other options and stuff
like that. And I was, I was digging it though.

(17:54):
It was a good shot.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Oh, we have so much to unpack with that.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Yes, because aren't it's you You were hockey dad, so yes,
you know how crazy each each sport has its own world.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Oh and it's so different. I held your son.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
My son now is twenty seven. He's engaged, he's gonna
get married in the year and thank you. And we
have to tell him, hey, look, here's your choices. You
can continue to play in work Sweden or the Middle East,
or he played a little bit in the US in
these lower leagues. And if you want to make five
hundred dollars a week, you know, I'll help you out.
But sooner or later you're gonna have to decide, you know,

(18:32):
are you going to continue doing this or do you
want to get into something else. And now we coaches,
like several of the universities like Middlebury and stuff like
that hired him to be the goalie coach. And I
know some NHL teams are looking at him. So that's
the next step up.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
That's fantastic, Like, that's great, that he's going to make
a career out of it.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
Is awesome, I think.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
But you know what's funny is I heard you talking
about coaches. He also does goalie coaching on the side too,
and he has a business. So I'm like, yeah, but
you know, my kid became cum lade in college because
he got good in hockey. That was his caveat if
we if he got good in hockey and he studied
and studied hard, we would continue helping him and and

(19:17):
you know, through all the phases and that's that's where
it led him. He had a great college career, good
grades and now just continue to work in it.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
So it was fun.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
That's beautiful and look, you know he's finding a career path.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
And you're right.

Speaker 3 (19:31):
These coaches, you know, especialty coaches are huge. Goalie coaches
are huge, like you know you need it, you know,
pitching coaches and quarterback coaches. I mean you see the
specialization linebacker, defensive end coaches. Oh yes, you know, offensive
line coaches right through all there. But it's it's great

(19:52):
because it's uh, kids are better now than they ever
have been. I mean I see it. It's on it's wild,
It really is all right, We're gonna come back and
we're gonna go over. We'll start to go over some
of what we saw early in week or week one.

(20:13):
We'll theike a look at week two, and then of
course a big college how we're coming up next. Arnie

Speaker 2 (21:38):

Speaker 4 (21:41):
Already getting Northwestern? Is that where you went to?

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Yes? I think so. I think you're right. I think
that's what it is.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
By the way, I I hate to hijack the show,
but are we.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Go right ahead? Are we going to it's normal for you?

Speaker 4 (21:54):
I know that. Are we going to bring up the
AP voters that screw that is?

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Yeah? We will.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
That is disgusting, seriously that, I mean, that's like, so.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
If you want to go there said the NFL, we
could do that.

Speaker 4 (22:07):
So but I'm just I'm just can you imagine if
we're breaking down the end or breaking down anything and
I'm giving you the wrong games or something of like, hey,
let's talk about USC and not true?

Speaker 2 (22:17):
Yeah, well, why do you explain it to the audience
case people didn't hear it?

Speaker 4 (22:20):
The AP voters there was well, first of all, there
was a young voter by the name of Haley Sawyer,
who had mistakes all over her ballot. I don't have
it in front of you, but I think she still
had like Florida ahead of South Florida even though South
Florida had pulled off the upset. It was obvious she
didn't watch the game or anything like that, and she

(22:41):
made several mistakes in her ballot. Matter of fact, Anthony,
nine voters had SMU in the top twenty five and
I had a Baylor and they had lost to Baylor.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:51):
One one voter had Alabama two spots ahead of Florida
State and he had five Florida five spots ahead of
US f h. It's there's at least ten and I'm
not just picking on the Hailey Sawyer girl, but there
was like ten or eleven voters that had this thing
botched up. And I know there's a lot of voters
out there, so overall it will fix it. Stuff. But

(23:12):
that's just atrocious. That's that's just egregious error. You you
can't do that. I mean, your vote does well.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
It's lazy because you're you're not you're not paying attention
to your craft, right if you're if you're a college
football writer, How in the world could you vote like that,
like you're gonna pay attention.

Speaker 2 (23:33):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
I voted for a lot of a lot of awards
during my time as a journalist in Chicago, New York
and Philly, and I used to, I used to, you know.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
Really deliberate over it. Of course, you take it seriously.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
You should, yeah, you know, you should.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
I voted for the Heisman, you know, when you put
that ballot out for the Heisman. I waited to that
last Saturday and and went through every game and would
look at tape, and you have to do that stuff,
you know. I don't know if you're going to do it,
do it right exactly.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
Why isn't there a big backlash though? Why isn't because
is it because she's a girl or because there was
several I could take them all the tasks. There's there
was eleven or twelve voters that did that. I know
they have a lot of voters. I don't even know
how many, what a couple of hundred or something, But
that's just ridiculous. That's that's just that's like you said,
that's being lazy. You can't even look up Why don't

(24:31):
you look up the final score at least before you
turn your ballot in. You know, how about if you.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
Didn't, well, you know you should watch you should watch
every game.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Yeah, like if you're if you're a college football top
twenty five and you're and you're a voter, well you
got to see who these teams are, right, you have
to see who their injuries, you know what their injuries
are like, you have to look at obviously, watch them play,
who they've beaten.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
Analyze it. I don't get it. I you gotta love it.
It goes it always goes back to you gotta love it,
like Pete, because you know, I got news for you
fans out there. Go that stuff that I would.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Do for free, right right, exact stuff that you know
is the people's vocation and you would do it for
nothing because you love.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
It, and they just go ahead and take it for granted.
How they do it, it's you know, they really should
lose their vote over something like that.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
You know I would do that. I would agree, you
have to.

Speaker 4 (25:30):
You're you've been so egregious with your voting that we're like,
you know what if you're not going to take it seriously?
And her excuse was well, over all the course of time,
it will even out because there'll be other people that
will make up for my errors to the something to
that effect. And I'm like, that's a poor excuse. She
wouldn't even say that's not.

Speaker 3 (25:50):
That's not a huge excuse. That's terrible. I mean, that's
an awful answer.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
It is.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
And to think that we're actually putting people teams into
a playoff based on the strength of schedule and stuff
like that is just is absolutely crazy. I can't there
wasn't funny Blas.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Yeah, you know it's funny.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
But one of our great listeners, Nick just hit me
up and said, at this point, just get Ai involved
and let Ai do.

Speaker 4 (26:18):
The ranking exactly. I agree with that.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
I mean, at some point Ai'll be looking at the
at the all twenty two and will be able to
spit out the perfect game plan for you.

Speaker 4 (26:31):
Ai is going to be head coach someday. I believe that.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
No, No, it's scary, you know it is. It is frightening.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
Uh, but yeah, it's that whole thing is is just
that's a travesty, it really is.

Speaker 4 (26:47):
And they get exposed every week every time you know,
I read Twitter, and all these people are getting exposed
and it was like, no big deal. She she wasn't
even embarrassed. She was laughing about it, and I'm just like, no, no,
you you can't continue this. We're gonna have to take
away your vote and go in a different direction.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
I mean, I don't know whoever is in charge of that,
but do you get what's that?

Speaker 4 (27:09):
Do you get paid for doing your ap vote? No?

Speaker 3 (27:13):
No, it's part of your job. Though I assume that
she is a what's her title? I don't know what
she does, to be honest, because it's media. It all
depends on what you know. She's she's getting paid from somebody. So,
but I would take away or vote if your media,
it's part of your.

Speaker 4 (27:30):
Job, exactly exactly.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Caylen de boor Alabama. Did you see the woman there
was an older woman. They were talking about the power
ball and if she would and they asked her, if
she won the.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Power ball, what would you do?

Speaker 4 (27:51):
Fire that?

Speaker 3 (27:52):
And she would pay out Kaylin de Bar's salary and
get rid of that bum What.

Speaker 4 (27:59):
Is it sick? Is it really sixty million dollars or
is that just a bogus number out there? Anthony or
seventy million? They say, that's what it is to buy
him out. It's like sixty million.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
Yeah, I don't know, I heard the same number, but.

Speaker 4 (28:13):
Yeah, if that's true, it's got to be true because
if this continues, I've already said this, I could see
Nick Saban coming back to Alabama and doing like a
two year gap until they get themselves another coach. The
losses to teams that are unranked not acceptable. And if
they lose to Wisconsin, who by the way, everybody's like,
this should be a good game, It's gonna be a

(28:34):
good game. But Wisconsin's not been a very good team
the last couple of years. They're not the Wisconsin of old,
you know what I mean. They're you know, they're not
the top twenty five Wisconsin that we used to see.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Now they should not. It shouldn't be close.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
Ron Dane ain't coming out of that locker room. I
promise you that I'll see what But I think I
think it'd be a good game. Though I think it
could be a very close game.

Speaker 2 (28:57):
It shouldn't be. It better not be if you're Alabama.
Better not.

Speaker 4 (29:03):
What's gonna happen now that they're gonna get They're not
gonna get rid of their coach. In the middle of
the year.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
No, I mean they're not going to He's not going anywhere,
but he's going to take a lot of heat.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
You know. That's it.

Speaker 4 (29:14):
Who has more heat on him? On the coach of Alabama?
The bores or arch Manning? You tell me who has
more heat right now on them?

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Yeah? Well arch Arch's arch is gonna be fine. Arch
is good. Oh he is.

Speaker 4 (29:29):
I'm glad, Thank you for telling me that, because I
wasn't so sure about that. To be honest with you,
you must not have seen the first game of the year.
That's okay, you missed it. I'll tell you about it
later on. Oh did you miss that?

Speaker 2 (29:45):
What time is it? Brie?

Speaker 4 (29:50):
You must have missed that.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
Please please come, Brianna, I need you. It's great glass
right for emergency?

Speaker 2 (30:01):
What time is it? Bree? All right? How old do
I got to have to deal with?

Speaker 4 (30:07):
Two more hours? Two hours and twenty two minutes? Did
you not see that first game? Anthony?

Speaker 2 (30:14):
Why you? Why in the.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
World would you be so idiotic to put a one
game against a great defense in an NFL defensive coordinator
on a kid like arch Manning.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
Am I judge about the Jota game? Well? Because the
shows today. The show is today, so forget about the
shows today.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
But saying that he's not any good, I did say
not any good.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
I I you know what you said. No, no, But
this is what I thoughtous, he's ridiculous. Well, this is
what I thought.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
I said.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
Look, I'm a Miami Dolphins fan. I go, if there's
a little silver lining about the Dolphins being the worst team,
I go, maybe they can get somebody like an arch Manning.
And then I'm like, I.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Don't even to come out this year.

Speaker 4 (30:56):
Now, you know what, I'm not so sure about that.
Don't listen to the uncles and all that up out there.
Don't be so sure that he's not going to come out.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Listen to his family, who knows exactly what he's want.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
Everything he debunked at He just said, I'm not so sure.
We'll see what happens at the end.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
He said that because you're never gonna you don't. There's
no need to make a statement now about it.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
Well Peyton did Peyton I think said it was the
one that said it. But look he's got Archie who
said it. Archie Okay, so he's got some Look he's
got some easy games. Do you tap the Sam Houston,
even Florida is not going.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
To be that batter. But gid a minute, would you
it was his first game?

Speaker 3 (31:38):
You're going up against Ohio State a stud defense today, Patricia,
who is an NFL defensive coordinator.

Speaker 4 (31:46):
Yes, yes, I didn't. So the games last year didn't
count for either of the couple starts, a couple of
games that he had that doesn't get so.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
So I'm just that that he didn't start the entire season,
but with a handful of games that that's suffices.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
No, I'm just wondering why you're wondering what you look at?

Speaker 2 (32:06):
Judge quarterback?

Speaker 4 (32:07):
You know what I want to know and things I
will tell you.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
How about football? Then I just go, what do you do?
You watch football?

Speaker 4 (32:14):
How long? About a week?

Speaker 5 (32:17):
Now?

Speaker 4 (32:17):
I think it's the first.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Seriously, you're how old?

Speaker 4 (32:20):
I'm sixty two, you're sixty two years old?

Speaker 2 (32:23):
You watched football your whole life?

Speaker 4 (32:24):
Yes, Hey, this is what you come out is your takes,
because you know what everybody said that Archman is the
number one pick, the number one pick, arch manning the
next break.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
Fellas on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (32:50):
A lot of people liking me on Twitter. I want
you to know that.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
I know. I I appreciate that. My boy Trod want
to say, I want to thank you staking genius for
making today's episode quite entertaining.

Speaker 4 (33:10):
Yeah you should, you should, Yeah, you should thank me.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
Now my blood pressure doesn't put Yeah. I have to
figure out a way to work with you. Yes, like
my own way, because you go into seventeen different directions.

Speaker 4 (33:28):
Yes, yeah, yeah you do.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
You are you on meds?

Speaker 4 (33:33):
No? No, no, I just.

Speaker 2 (33:35):
You need to go on mets. Just keeping up is hard.

Speaker 4 (33:41):
I do that the plying too. He's like, yeah, I'll
just go wherever you want.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
To go, right, Like you can have a certain direction,
like we'll have a direction and then you veer off
of the twenty different places.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
Yeah, yeah, you have to keep up.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Man, Yeah, no, I hear you.

Speaker 3 (34:01):
You know wegain It's like driving blind right, like driving
with a blindfold. For the first listen for the best

Speaker 3 (34:25):
Tune in the Countdown to Kickoff, presented by bed MGM
every morning.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
The quick left turn here, blah blah. Yeah, did you guys,
Finish to read first? Okay, finish to read first, Go ahead, finish.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
It's already done.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
I already got there. You go. You know what's so funny.
I had a listener said that he hit a nineteen
team money line parlay in college football, right yeah, And
he sent me the slip and I started looking at it.
I go, this isn't very tough. You just took all
the favorites on the money line. So Plague's like, let's
see you do it. So I just picked fifteen of

(34:58):
the top favorites that were like thirty and forty point favorites,
and they all won. That's how easy it is. But
you don't get paid it. It's like three to one
odds on something like that, four to one odds and
you're fifteen teams. But they're all such big favorites they
don't pay off.

Speaker 3 (35:15):
Yeah, well, you know, I mean, sorry, not gonna have
an upset with that kind of with those kinds of matchups,
just one with the well, I mean, I don't know,
you just told me nineteen teams. So I'm thinking it's.

Speaker 4 (35:27):
All the favorites, all the big favorites, you know, like
when Texas plays Santos, well the.

Speaker 3 (35:31):
Braskets, I mean, Oklahoma's playing Texas, I mean this morning.

Speaker 4 (35:35):
Yeah, you take Oklahoma.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
That's what you do, you know, right, Like Oklahoma is
playing Temple today, so like you know you're gonna have
that sort of thing. So here, here you go, here's
your you want your schedule today, your top twenty five schedule.

Speaker 4 (35:50):
Absolutely all right?

Speaker 3 (35:52):
So Oregon Northwestern gets us started at noon, it's big
noon kickoff.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
What do you think Oregon?

Speaker 4 (36:02):
I well, their offense obviously is fantastic. You know what's
interesting about this game? Though they're a big favorite, they're
like twenty seven and a half point favorites over Northwestern,
but yet the over under is only forty eight and
a half. How could you lay twenty seven points and
have an over under forty eight. You certainly can't take
the under and lay the points there. If they're saying
that it's gonna be a little scoring game, I love Northwestern.

(36:24):
Plus the points, I'm thinking maybe they could keep it close.
But like I said, that Oregon offense, it is just
I mean, it just it's so tough.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Here's the problem.

Speaker 3 (36:33):
What you're thinking, right, is that Northwestern scored three against Tulane. Right,
so if they scored three against Tulane, what do you
think they're gonna how much you think they're gonna score
against Oregon?

Speaker 4 (36:47):
Yeah, no, I understand that. But yeah, they picked it
up against Western Illinois. But against Oregon, you know, even
if they score ten points, you got to take the over. Defensively,
they're okay, are there? Good? So we'll see if they
can maybe sold on an Oregon But that, like I said,
not Oregon offense. They just click on all cylinders.

Speaker 2 (37:06):
Man.

Speaker 4 (37:06):
They're fun to watch, They're they're just really good.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
Yeah, now they're Oregon's legit. I'm looking forward to Oregon
Penn State.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
That's gonna be. That's gonna be a good one. Uh.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
Clemson and Georgia Tech. A dude, Clemson, Georgia Tech's live
in this game.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
As you know it.

Speaker 3 (37:24):
Clet'son is only the two and a half point favorite
against Tech. And you know we well everybody was in
love with Clemson.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
I felt the same thing you bringing back everybody. This
was a whole fight against the portal for Dabbo.

Speaker 3 (37:43):
And here we are and they're only a two and
a half point favorite against Tech.

Speaker 4 (37:47):
Things are gonna get hot under the collar for Dabbo,
not that he's not used to it. First of all,
they lose telusue. I don't know if you saw that
Troy game. That was when I told you, you know you
take the big favorites, right, that was the one game
that could have been a posible upset. Matter of fact,
I think Troy actually led that game sixteen to three
at halftime before Clemson came back and won twenty seven

(38:08):
to sixteen.

Speaker 2 (38:08):
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
It was a lot closer than that score will even indicate. Though,
you know, they could very well lose to Georgia Tech.
They used the Syracuse they'll probably be North Carolina. But
you know, going one to two in the next three
that's not going to cut it. They're in bad shape.
I think this Georgia Tech team is a good team.

(38:29):
I think they actually beat Clemson. When you said Clemson
only a two and that point favorite, I thought it'd
be more like pick them, So we'll see what happens.
But I do like Georgia Tech. I'm gonna take the
points in this one.

Speaker 2 (38:41):
I know, brother, you know what it shocked me was
club Nick. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (38:47):
I thought their offense would look so much better, and
it's it's not it's it's it's not good. I mean,
you struggle like that against Troy, you want to ru
twenty twenty seven up? You know you scored seventeen in
the third quarter. I mean, I'm stunned by Clemson.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
I am. I'm stunned that they're not This is not good. Man.

Speaker 4 (39:08):
Know that their defense actually had to pick them up.
They got a two turnovers, one on an interception that
set them up for a short field for a touchdown.
Otherwise I don't even know if they scored twenty seven
against Troy. I look, let's give Troy credit. They played
a phenomenal game, but a sixteen to three they were leading.
It happened. Saying myself, are they going to win this game?
It was Clemson's got some serious problems, like you mentioned.

(39:32):
We'll see what happens. But this Georgia Tech team, that's
that's gonna be a good game. Though they haven't. They
didn't look good in their first game, I believe Georgia Tech.
But they won their second game.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
Well they played they beat Colorado.

Speaker 4 (39:43):
Yeah, Colorado in their first game. Yeah, no big deal.

Speaker 3 (39:46):
Yeah, I mean listen, it was it was a good game.
I remember watching it. Oklahoma Temple early. That's a noon start,
and you must.

Speaker 4 (39:55):
Be scared about that one after what Oklahoma did the Michigan.

Speaker 3 (39:58):
Huh yeah, they'll uhigure that's a name your score piece.
Did you see they got caught on a hot mic
saying that Temple is a high school team.

Speaker 4 (40:09):
Oh no, I didn't. I didn't hear that.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
I didn't.

Speaker 4 (40:12):
Yeah, I didn't catch that.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
Wow. Yeah, it was a.

Speaker 3 (40:16):
It was like there there there people, they're media people whatever,
and it got caught on a hot mic and it
sounded terrible.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
You know, it's funny. Uh oh.

Speaker 3 (40:26):
And then you got Wisconsin Alabama, and again Alabama is
a twenty and a half point favorite.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
They they better have some the style points.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
To Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
Good morning, good morning, good morning, happy happy Fox Sports Saturday.
That's right, we are the Fellas.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
Arnie Spaniel Anthony gar got up from the tyraq dot
Com studios.

Speaker 2 (40:55):
All right on lots to do?

Speaker 3 (40:58):
Yes, Uh, let me just dress one thing because we
had a fun hour last you know, it's all in
good love all right, I love Arnie is a legend
and uh a great just a great man. So I
like we tease each other and yes, go back and forth.
I just do want people to know that I'm just
you know, it's.

Speaker 4 (41:17):
All just like no, I felt it. Look, I filled
it with Anthony. I filled it with everybody to I
don't know if there's anybody I haven't filled in, so
each persons different, but when I filled it with Anthony,
I was because you know, he's an East Coast guy
like myself, and we have a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (41:33):
And I'm a third like I take it way too serious.

Speaker 3 (41:37):
Oh yeah, like I take sports way too so like
you're right, like like I know my own idio secrecies
and you know, I'm a frustrated coach, right, I'm a
frustrated general manager, you know, in my warped, you.

Speaker 2 (41:55):
Know, misguided mind.

Speaker 3 (41:58):
I think I could actually be a GM in three
different sports, right.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
Like or coach it right?

Speaker 4 (42:04):
Right? No, you probably could too. I mean there's people
that have made it in sports in GM or colleges
like that that really didn't have a background for that.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
Anthony, you can do that.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
Yeah, well thank you, buddy. But I know, I take
it way too serious.

Speaker 4 (42:19):
So I like, when you're kids too, what's gonna happen
when they play in college? Man, are you going to
be that parent that's like bring over them?

Speaker 2 (42:26):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (42:27):
Yeah, it's terrible. I try, I really honestly, you know,
for their own good. But I coach. I coach the
little one. I coach every sport, football, basketball, and baseball.
I mean it dug out with them my mother's sidelines.

Speaker 2 (42:45):
But I love it. I love coaching kids. I love
and I love being next to.

Speaker 3 (42:50):
Him like we he's you know, he's sick of me,
and when he goes to high school, I'll leave him be.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
But I love it. I love every second.

Speaker 4 (43:00):
Have a good rapport with the coaches, because that was
my mistake, Anthony, really serious. Oh yeah, I had it
out with one of the coaches when my son was
in college and I justalie he was he was a
good goalie. And I I had a friend of mine

(43:21):
who was going to be a GM or s I
D at Division III college UH in Boston, and I
was speaking to him about maybe Shade transferring and one
of the other coaches there heard it and called the
coach up and say why is your goalie looking to transfer?
And started, Oh yeah, I was livid. I was absolutely

(43:44):
livid that you break trust like that, You know what
I mean? It was it was I mean, I had
to shut up. I had to shut up because it's
not my world, Anthony. And you'll learn that it's you'll
want to speak out, even if you're right, You're gonna
want to speak out. And if you're not an advocate
for your kid, who's going to be an advocate for
your kid? But I with you, but you have to

(44:04):
shut up, you man, you got to keep your mouth shut.
And I didn't learn that. And maybe I hurt my
son sometimes, but you know it was done with the
best intentions. I wish I could do it all over again.
I guess I really do. I wish I could have
done the whole thing all over again. In hockey, it's
very difficult to maneuver through the waters. But we are
where we are now.

Speaker 2 (44:25):
Did he not? Did he play juniors? Did he live?

Speaker 4 (44:29):
Yes? Yeah? Two three years before you go to college
after high school, you got to spend two three years
away living in people's basements. And you're up in Canada
and you're trying out for a hundred different teams and
you're making this team and you're getting cut by this team,
and it's it's a grind. Ant, it is a grind.

Speaker 3 (44:50):
My friend, so I wish his son is is a
really good defenseman.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
And you know he's been living in North Dakota. Yes, yes,
Tri Cities.

Speaker 4 (45:02):
And you know every years the life, right, some of
these kids go off at like ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen
years old. It's insane.

Speaker 3 (45:09):
And be a hockey dad. Man, you dude, you went,
You're driving all over the place. You're going everywhere, football
and baseball, like we do a lot of travel stuff,
but nothing close to hockey.

Speaker 4 (45:23):
No, It's it's crazy. I mean, you're you're getting on planes,
You're you're playing in you know, all these different tournaments.
It's it's insane. The parents are the worst. I'm sorry
to say that. Really, Oh the apps. I've seen some fights.
I've seen a guy pick up a pen and stab
the coach in the neck. I've just seen some crazy,

(45:48):
crazy stuff. Man, it is it's insane. So that's why
I wish are the best. Luck. But you know what,
I wouldn't have missed it for the world. It's it's
a very enjoyable time. I know it doesn't sound like it,
but Joe, you'll have a blast, Joe, Yeah, I just
really enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (46:01):
Yeah, I love it.

Speaker 4 (46:02):
Now.

Speaker 2 (46:02):
I get sad when I think about.

Speaker 3 (46:06):
When they were I loved it when they were little,
right right, Yeah, you know it was T ball and
pee wee football playing on eight foot rims, you know.

Speaker 2 (46:15):
Yeah, it's adorable.

Speaker 3 (46:17):
Get back to the college slate and then we'll go
to the NFL. And I do want to talk some
baseball because baseball has been awesome, Like it's a incredible pennant.

Speaker 2 (46:27):
Races are happening.

Speaker 4 (46:28):
I'm a Mets fan. That has not been awesome.

Speaker 2 (46:30):
Okay, oh geez, okay, yeah.

Speaker 4 (46:33):
It's not been awesome. That the Mets figure they lose
on days they don't even play, they're going to choke away.
They're going to choke away the wild Card. Now, I
think they have like a half game lead on Yo.

Speaker 2 (46:44):
Reds are like on their tail right right.

Speaker 4 (46:47):
It's embarrassing. And Phillies have run away with that division.
It's crazy.

Speaker 3 (46:51):
Yeah, and it was it was wild because the Mets
swept the Phillies in New York.

Speaker 4 (46:56):
I remember that right exactly.

Speaker 3 (46:57):
And this is a couple of weeks ago, and there
was some you were pack make any streets in my
streets the Wheeler because because Zach Wheelers o year and
it was like, oh my god.

Speaker 2 (47:09):
And then they can't beat the Mets.

Speaker 3 (47:11):
And then it was bizarre because the Mets swept the
Phillies and then went into the tank.

Speaker 4 (47:17):
I haven't won since.

Speaker 8 (47:18):
I think it's the Phillies me while went on a
hot streak and then they had to rematch this past
week in Philadelphia and the Phillies swept four game series.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
Have to men, I enjoyed it immensely.

Speaker 4 (47:35):
Yeah, but now with football, we have to put baseball
on the back burner though. That is the way it
works or what.

Speaker 3 (47:40):
Yes, yeah, yes, we do till the playoffs exactly.

Speaker 4 (47:44):
Then then that's what it gets really good.

Speaker 3 (47:47):
I have one question and we'll get to the top
twenty five. You're a Mets fan, not a Yankee fan?

Speaker 2 (47:53):
How coy? Right?

Speaker 4 (47:53):
Right? You know, I used to live in the Bronx,
so everybody's a Yankee fan out there because you know,
I'm just off. So I was never a Jet fan.
I was a Dolphin fan.

Speaker 2 (48:04):
I was.

Speaker 4 (48:04):
I was never a Yankee fan. I was a Met fan.
I was always different from everybody in my family, So
maybe that's something to do with from.

Speaker 2 (48:12):
The Bronx and you're you're a Met fan.

Speaker 3 (48:14):
I covered I covered sports in New York for a
long time, and it was always, you know, the division
was pretty simple. Yankees were Bronx, Connecticut, North Jersey. The
Mets had Long Island in Queens.

Speaker 2 (48:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (48:33):
Yeah, no, And that's pretty much the way, matter of
fact in Since you're on baseball, I'm just gonna ask
you real quick now. You saw that story that came
out was like a month or two ago about possible realignment.
I'm all for. Look, if you could have put the Mets,
the Yankees, the Phillies, Pittsburgh, and like the Red Sox

(48:54):
in one division, you may not have to get on
a plane for like a month or two. You could
except for maybe Pittsburgh. If you're in New York, you
could travel by each by car or by bus to
each of those places out there. I'm all for putting
the Mets and the Yankees in the same division. The Cubs,
the White Sox, right, I'm all for I don't know

(49:14):
where you stand on that, but Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, I'm all
for that, you gotta have major realignment change in baseball.

Speaker 2 (49:20):
Yeah. No, I think it would be fun. I think
it would be Uh, it would be a blast, actually,
you know, to be the same division. Yeah, it would
be awesome.

Speaker 4 (49:28):
Well, baseball's regional, and you're gonna have to You're gonna
have to really realize it's not national. We don't care
about the Minnesota Twins or the Baltimore Orioles or you know,
the Texas Rangers. You care about the teams in your
neck of the woods. So you're gonna have to like
the Miami Marlins being in the NT least, that doesn't
do anything. You gotta get them out, you know what

(49:49):
I mean. You gotta make it more regional, like I said,
and put the Yankees and the Mets. I'm just wondering
how it will change things now that you'll have the
Mets and Yankees in the same division. Maybe Dodgers, Angels, Cubs,
White Socks. How that changes things.

Speaker 2 (50:02):
No, I think it would be a lot. I do.
I agree with you. I think it would be a
lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (50:05):
I think there would be a lot of interests and
I think it just adds to it. But the playoffs
have I mean the just September, it's been wild man, Yeah,
really has been.

Speaker 2 (50:17):
What's going on with the Dodgers, Dude, I don't understand
what's wrong with them, and they can't.

Speaker 4 (50:24):
Hit every Mookie Betts has had a horrible year, even
though he started to picking up a little bit. I
thought the Dodgers at the beginning of the year. I
was one of those knuckles and said they could maybe
they'll only lose like forty games this year. They'll be
the best team in the history of baseball, anthony, and
that never works out. You know, they have so much
injury to their pitching. They need like fifty pitchers to

(50:47):
go through a course of a year. Remember, like I
was saying, you need two quarterbacks, they need like fifty
starting pitchers to get to a course of the year.
It's embarrassing. It's horrible. What's going on with them now?

Speaker 3 (50:58):
I know the Dodgers put up nine the other day
and seven, but it was against the Rockies last night
they put They lose.

Speaker 4 (51:06):
Five to one to the Giants.

Speaker 3 (51:07):
Know, yeah, before that, they only put up three against
the Rockies. They put up five against Baltimore three against Baltimore.
They lost two to one. To Baltimore. They lost five
three to Pittsburgh. They got shut out three nothing to Pittsburgh. They,
I mean, other than Otani David just struggle on big time.

Speaker 2 (51:27):
It's it's it's it's gonna be an interesting.

Speaker 4 (51:30):
Padres right on their heels. Two and a half out.
There's only what fifteen games, yeah, less than fifteen right now,
like fourteen thirteen games left.

Speaker 2 (51:38):
Yeah, it's gonna be uh, it's gonna be a ton
of fun.

Speaker 3 (51:40):
I'll tell you what. Let's let's take a break. We'll
come right back, and I want to get it too.
We'll finish the top twenty five. Yeah, and then we'll
dive into NFL uh in a big way because we
got a huge there's a bunch of huge games tomorrow.
The double Yeah, I gotta get your opinion on the
Monday night doubleheader. You want to get rid of Monday

(52:03):
night football, but there's a double header on Monday night,
which I love, So I'm sure we'll fight about that.

Here's one old bitch Bailey, Giants on deep black Field.

Speaker 4 (53:07):
Patrick Bailey, another work.

Speaker 1 (53:13):
Off for him, and this.

Speaker 6 (53:15):
Time it's a grand slam.

Speaker 2 (53:20):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (53:21):
Courtesy Giants Radio. The tire rack play of the Day,
Patrick Bailey slams the Dodgers.

Speaker 4 (53:29):
What Giants half game back? Now behind my New York
Mets for that final playoff spot. That's not looking good
for my Mets.

Speaker 2 (53:39):
No not.

Speaker 3 (53:40):
I don't know what they got all those relievers and
they've You thought their bullpen was going to be great
in Hellsley turned out to be a disaster.

Speaker 4 (53:49):
You know, since the Mets had the best record in
baseball right before the halfway point, I would say, about
sixty seventy games in they had actually had the best
record for a cup of coffee in all of baseball.
Since then, they've been like the fourth worst team in baseball,
like only the worst teams are like the Rockies and

(54:11):
stuff like that. It's been They've lost seven in a row.
Now they're just a complete spiral.

Speaker 2 (54:16):
It's horrible. Yeah, yeah, no, I feel you, buddy.

Speaker 3 (54:20):
All right, let's get back to college football and go
through the top twenty five. Some of the games you
get you ready the big one today at three thirty eastern,
twelve thirty Pacific, Georgia, Tennessee. This is a fascinating game
on man, I know a lot of sharps. We're gonna
talk to the brain who's a sharp handicapper. Every week

(54:42):
he calls in and he told me that all the
sharps are on Tennessee and see a Tennessee win.

Speaker 4 (54:50):
Outright, Yeah, I'm on Tennessee. Also, this is you're right,
this is the game of the I believe of Saturday.
I can't wait to see this one. I'm curious to
see because we don't have a good sense of what
George is doing. They haven't really played much of a
schedule either as Tennessee. But you know, I wasn't really
impressed with their win over Syracuse. But Syracuse is actually
a decent team. Both of them have not, you know,

(55:12):
faced any quality opponents. But Tennessee's got a great offense.
You saw a little bit of that in the game
last weekend. They played some cupcake East Tennessee State or
something like that, where they just scored it will I'm
wondering if if that Tennessee offense is going to go
ahead and be able to move the ball just half
as good as they did on East Tennessee as they

(55:32):
are gonna do on Georgia, this is gonna I think
it's gonna be a little bit more of a high
scoring game and then people expect I'd probably take the
over in this. But I do like Tennessee plus the
points in this one.

Speaker 2 (55:41):
Anthony, Well, all the sharps are great.

Speaker 3 (55:44):
Now here's the thing is it is stocked Gunner Stockton
playing like the the idea that everybody loves Tennessee tells
me that they're not buying Gunner Stockton.

Speaker 4 (55:56):
Well, overall, I mean, do you like him, do you
think he's the one that's gonna go and take him.
Do you think he's the.

Speaker 3 (56:01):
The I mean, I need to see more. I mean
obviously I had my reservations, but I don't know. I mean,
he didn't play anybody, so I need to see him.
I need to see him against a legitimate defense.

Speaker 4 (56:13):
And what do you make at Tennessee's quarterback with argu.

Speaker 2 (56:16):
I like, I ag Ar could throw it, he could
really slick it.

Speaker 3 (56:21):
I thought Stockton looked a little shaky, you know, like
he can move a little bit. I thought he'd be
a little bit better. But no, ag Ark can throw
the football. He's guys got a good arm.

Speaker 4 (56:36):
It was a good trade for UH uh Tennessee with
them transferring the two kids from UH to UCLA. Ucla.
By the way, they lost to New Mexico. Was it
New Mexico last night? They're off to a miserable start.
But yeah, it worked out Fragular, no doubt about that.
That was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Speaker 3 (56:55):
And then UH a little bit later on at four
point thirty, Miami and South Florida number five versus number eighteen, Man.

Speaker 2 (57:06):
Miami's defense is the truth.

Speaker 3 (57:08):
You know what they did in that notber name game, Man,
They they floated a football, so well all that underneath stuff.
I mean, Miami's couldn't. Miami's cornerbacks were just locked. They
were locked to the Irish receivers. They're good, and they're
good up front.

Speaker 4 (57:27):
Well so so South Florida. Did you see their gamer
or did you just kind of take them as like, well,
that was a one game wonder and you know, maybe
they just played a really good game there.

Speaker 2 (57:36):
I was still good.

Speaker 3 (57:37):
Yeah, I mean I think you know, they played a
great game and you can get the big upset. But
I think this Miami team's a different at animal. Like
I would lay the points in this game.

Speaker 4 (57:48):
Seventeen and a half.

Speaker 2 (57:49):
That's a lot of points, you know, I would lay it.

Speaker 4 (57:51):
You're that's a lot, especially for a South Florida team
that's that's still not getting any credit for being better
than they are. I think I'm gonna take the points
in this one. But you're right Miami offensively, I mean, look,
they beat Notre Dame. They didn't play anybody last week.
It was it like Bethune Cookman or something like that,
so that you could just throw that game out. They

(58:12):
really didn't show what they have. We'll see what they
put up against South Florida. It was a very good defense.
I'm all over Southworia. That's just too many points, Anthony.
Seventeen and a half and they're coming off a good win.
I'll take South Florida.

Speaker 3 (58:23):
Listen, they beat Boysey right, trouts Boys, which is a
good wins a dog in the in the opener, right,
and then you come back and then you beat Florida,
which the trout Boys. Yeah right, Yeah, So that line's
seventeen and a half for a reason though, because everybody's
having the same thought. Wild geez, your trouts boys, but

(58:47):
boy he's not any good. And then you beat Florida
and Florida's self destructed. Hey well, I don't want to
take anyway from South Florida because that was a great win,
right right. But I do think Miami is the truth,
and I'm not a Miami. I bought Miami's the truth.
I love it.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
Their defensive line is really good.

Speaker 4 (59:08):
We'll see if South and you're right about that, We'll
see if they could move the ball because South Florida
actually put up a lot of yardage on Ford. I
think they had close to the four hundred yards in
that game. They got to cut out on the penalties,
so that's that's going to be a big thing also.
And by the way, Florida dominated the time and possession
and still lost that game. So it shows you that

(59:28):
South Florida can still go ahead and strike. I again,
good game. I think it's like a four hour chatnel
like the c W, so you have to go looking
for it. But this is one that's coming in under
the radar, well you know. And by the way, it's
going up to eighteen and a half on this one now.

Speaker 2 (59:46):
I tell you, Yeah, everybody's.

Speaker 4 (59:48):
Coming in on Yeah, how about Flora?

Speaker 2 (59:50):
How about Florida? Right?

Speaker 3 (59:53):
So Florida, dam man, they got LSU right today, you
gotta go to you gotta go to Baton Rouge.

Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
You got LSU.

Speaker 3 (01:00:03):
Tonight, then you got Miami, then you got Texas, then
you got a and m are you kidding me?

Speaker 4 (01:00:14):
No, they won't win more than two more games the
rest of the year. Seriously, look at their schedule, Like
you said, maybe Mississippi State, but I doubt that one.
You got Georgia, right, and then they're on the road
to Kentucky and Mississippi. They won't beat Tennessee and they
probably won't be Florida State either. They'll be looking to
win two more games the rest of the year. That
schedule is about as brutal as they call.

Speaker 3 (01:00:36):
Oh my god, it is horrible. Yeah, Like once, here's
the rest of the schedule.

Speaker 4 (01:00:41):
If they didn't play Long Island. I don't know how
many wins, right.

Speaker 2 (01:00:46):
They beat your Long Island squad.

Speaker 4 (01:00:49):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
You got Florida, so you got LSU tonight. Then you're
at Miami.

Speaker 4 (01:00:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
Then you're.

Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
Home Texas at A and m home Missippi State, home Georgia,
at Kentucky at Old miss Home Tennessee, and then home
Florida State.

Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
Oh my god.

Speaker 4 (01:01:16):
They might not be a favorite in any of those games.

Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
Maybe.

Speaker 4 (01:01:19):
Man, I hope it's renting so I can say, yeah,
you better be renting, yeah instead of buying.

Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
That is brutal. There is six and a half point
dog tonight at LSU.

Speaker 4 (01:01:32):
People are saying they like they like Ford in that game.
I don't understand why I can't take that. If if anything,
I'd stay away from it if I if I'm.

Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
Not on the LSU side, Yeah, I think LSU is legit.

Speaker 4 (01:01:43):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:01:44):
I mean, first of all, I love the Smyer, but
their defense is back to being LSU defense.

Speaker 4 (01:01:50):
I do love Nesmyer. Also, I think he's kind of,
you know, coming in under the radar, if that's possible.
I don't think people expected him to be this good,
So I'm I'm curious to see what he does the
rest of the year.

Speaker 3 (01:02:03):
Yeah, I love he could spind it. I mean, his
only issue is he's so good, Like he's one of
those kids that could put it through a mousehole.

Speaker 2 (01:02:12):
But he you know, you can fall over you're on
that way.

Speaker 3 (01:02:14):
Sometimes you see windows that aren't there, and that's when
you get the big turnover. So I thought he played
really well in their opener and and you know, everybody
thought they would lose that he was sound, he didn't
turn the ball over. I thought he took care of
it nicely. I'm a big fan. But really stood out.

Speaker 2 (01:02:36):
To me was their defense.

Speaker 4 (01:02:37):
Yeah, yeah, defensively other good. Also, I can't even believe
why this is other seven. I must be missing something
in this game and why everybody's jumping on Forard, I
just don't see it. I think LSU could win this
game by like two or three touchdowns. I think they
could run away with it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
Yeah, and we'll hit up the brain about it?

Speaker 4 (01:02:57):
They ever been great? I got it? Tell they ever
been that great? I mean they did barely beat Clemson,
and we started to figure out that Clemson is not
all that great. To be honest with.

Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
You, you're right right, all right? And then this is
a good one. A and M against the Irish.

Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
You loving that one?

Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
How big boy?

Speaker 4 (01:03:19):
By the way, have you ever been to a game?
Have you ever been to a game out in South
Bend or no?

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:03:24):
I covered when I covered college football when I was
in New York, So I did it all the I
did everything.

Speaker 2 (01:03:32):
It's awesome place.

Speaker 4 (01:03:33):
Quick story. I went to a game in South Bend
with another host of mine. We went to the They
were playing Air Force and they lost to Air Force
in overtime, and we were just being obnoxious, I mean
absolutely obnoxious. First of all, imagine all the Notre Dame
fans that were in attendance in the game losing to

(01:03:54):
Air Force in overtime. Okay, they're in a bad mood
to begin with. But listen to this part. Anthony, the
guy that gave us the tickets, we worked for him.
He was actually a star for Notre Dame football back
in like the nineteen thirties and after his playing career,
he became their head coach. Right, his name was Terry Brennan.

(01:04:15):
And because yeah, and because the other I'm going to
say the other guy's fault was so drunk and obnoxious
that they didn't know whose tickets we had that they
pulled the tickets and said you're not allowed to use
the tickets anymore. And we had to explain to the
former star and coach of Notre Dame how his tickets
got yanked from Notre Dame because we were being drunk

(01:04:36):
and obnoxious. I wanted to cry. I seriously, I was
so afraid to go back. It was crazy. But wow,
it's a great place to see.

Speaker 2 (01:04:48):
You gave it.

Speaker 4 (01:04:48):
So you're young, you're a young host. Yeah, yeah, I'm
a young host that we're just being obnoxious, cheering.

Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
Where were you? Where were you? Where were you working? At?

Speaker 4 (01:04:57):
Of in Chicago? In Chicago, working for a network, and
I went with another host. I don't want to.

Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
Get you guys. Were you guys were rooting for air Force?

Speaker 4 (01:05:07):
Yeah, we were rooting for Air Force and that she
won in overtime, and the people around us, we were
sitting with the you know, the high end.

Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
Money guys tickets.

Speaker 4 (01:05:18):
Yeah, you kid up. He was a big time I've
heard of them. Yeah, and it was just they were
just so mad at.

Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
You guys.

Speaker 4 (01:05:31):
It was so uncomfortable that meeting afterwards was so I
blamed it on the other kid, to be honest with him,
like it was really all him. He was he was drunk.
I I didn't have anything to drink.

Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
I don't remember.

Speaker 4 (01:05:46):
Yeah, but no, that's going back to the game.

Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
It is.

Speaker 4 (01:05:51):
Yeah, the former star and head coached. Yeah, well he
was the boss and the son really ran everything. But yeah,
those were the days back in Chicago. That's that's the
game of the day. I'm looking forward to that one.
I'm looking forward to see if A and M is
going to be able to go ahead and keep up
with Notre Damon Nore. Dad can't afford to lose this one.

(01:06:12):
They don't want to start off what are they own
one now? So you really don't want to go ahead
and start off oh and two. Uh, and you know
it's not that easy of a schedule. They'll still have
a few tough games. Some of them are going to
be Patsy's for them. So they got to go ahead
and get this win here.

Speaker 3 (01:06:26):
Yeah, you got you gotten today? Right, Purdue at Arkansas
home Boise home and C States.

Speaker 4 (01:06:36):
The State's a good team, so they have to be
worried about that, hope.

Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
Yeah, it's at home at home USC, right at BC,
home Navy, at Pitt home Syracuse at Stanford.

Speaker 4 (01:06:47):
They play every game at home. My goodness, man, geez.

Speaker 2 (01:06:50):
Yeah, I got did see many schedules really nothing. You
can lose this game, and.

Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
You can you can start off oh in two and
still make the playoffs easy.

Speaker 4 (01:06:59):
Yeah, I think you could have three losses. I think
if you're tra Dame you could have maybe.

Speaker 2 (01:07:04):
But you can't.

Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
You can't lose to anybody. Like you look at the
rest of the schedule. This schedule is so easy. Home Purdue,
you're a big favorite. At Arkansas, You're a favorite, right
home boys, you are a big favorite home NC State,
You're a favorite home USC.

Speaker 2 (01:07:19):
You're a favorite at BC.

Speaker 3 (01:07:21):
You're a favorite home Navy, are a huge favorite at
pit your favorite home Syracuse.

Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
You're a big favorite. At Stanford.

Speaker 4 (01:07:28):
You're bigy would do you still get all goose bumpy
when you hear like Notre Dame USC and all that
or that that's you know, already past its prime.

Speaker 2 (01:07:37):
I love all these rothalries, though, I have to be
honest with you, I do.

Speaker 4 (01:07:40):
I love all the rothalerries like Michigan, Ohio State and
stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
But yeah, I mean that's still that's still epic. Yes,
that's c He's not there yet. Now they got a
good recruiting class, so we'll see. But you know, I
mean I still love pet State USC. I mean that
Notre Dame in USC that you know, Godfather one, that
that's the game on him and Ross TV?

Speaker 4 (01:08:04):
Oh is it?

Speaker 2 (01:08:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:08:05):
When he walks in right and he goes to Hyman
Ross's house in Florida, Michael Corleoni, and he walks into
the living room and he's watching Notre Dame SC and
he says, though, Michael, do you watch the football? And
he's now, I don't. I don't, and he goes, I

(01:08:28):
love the football. I love baseball ever since Arnold Rothstein
fixed the nineteen nineteen World Series.

Speaker 4 (01:08:37):
By the way, have your hand on the dumb button.
In case I'm not allowed to say this, I'm probably
gonna have send Anthony into a tangent. I've never seen
the whole movie of the Godfather so I mean, is
that okay? Or am I spoed Topek fired for that?

Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
I mean it's kind of part of the course, right,
I mean, whatever, how could you be sixty two years old?

Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
My god? Then you're from New York. I understand it.

Speaker 4 (01:09:05):
The I can't figure it out if you're if you
like listen, did I get the dumb button on the young?

Speaker 3 (01:09:12):
There's somebody that's young and you know what average home it's.
It's it's just classic film, like if you like you
just don't.

Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
You don't like movies I do.

Speaker 4 (01:09:20):
I like the other ones they've had, you know what
I mean, all the other gangster movies they've had.

Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
Can't watch other gangster movies and not watch.

Speaker 4 (01:09:27):
The g I do, But I like the other gangster movies.

Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
I never Yeah, well why wouldn't you watch the God?

Speaker 4 (01:09:32):
I don't know. It just never really appealed to me.

Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
I guess appeal? Why could you like other? That makes
no sense? Dude? This is what you don't. You make
no sense?

Speaker 3 (01:09:44):
Like I get it, Like you might like the genre
and the genre is not for me. All right, well
you don't like the genre. But if you't like gangster
movies and not like the god you get impossible to
watch Goodfellas and not watch The Godfather.

Speaker 4 (01:09:58):
I'm gonna say, if ray Leota is not into it
and forget about it, then I'm I'm just not gonna watch.

Speaker 3 (01:10:05):
Dude, you aren't insane, You're absolutely you're insane.

Speaker 4 (01:10:10):
Yeah, I'm a Good Fellas type guy. I like that
one much better.

Speaker 2 (01:10:16):
I don't even know where to go.

Speaker 4 (01:10:18):
I stumped you for the first time.

Speaker 2 (01:10:20):
You're speechless.

Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
I'm like, yeah, I mean crazy nuts. All right, let's uh,
we got a lot to get to. Let's go over
the NFL card and so.

Speaker 2 (01:10:31):
We'll do that coming up next. Uh so we'll spend
a lot of time going through the man.

Speaker 3 (01:10:39):
I know everybody's already tired of the packer love, but
they're kid, they really are. We gotta we'll talk about
it and the Super Bowl rematches coming up Chiefs and Eagles.

Speaker 2 (01:10:51):
What's changed? Has anything changed from February? We'll discuss it.

Speaker 3 (01:10:57):

it will be like a five minute story. You'll love it.

Speaker 2 (01:11:10):
I'm sure i will.

Speaker 4 (01:11:11):
Oh, it's a pretty funny story. You'll love it.

Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
Uh. That sounds good. I'm looking forward to that story.
What's it about it?

Speaker 4 (01:11:45):
It's a sports story, but it's no, no, no, it's
a sports story that involves me any famous athlete.

Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
Oh real, that's a good tease.

Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
You'll love it. You'll love it, man.

Speaker 2 (01:11:56):
I'm down yeah. Yeah, sounds good. I'm in for that.
I like it. I like it.

Speaker 3 (01:12:01):
All right, let's go through tomorrow's card and well, it's
a good choose to talk about all the teams and
then we'll culminate next out the top of the next
hour with the Super Bowl rematch, because that's the biggest one. Well,
let's start early, Rams and Titans, cam Ward just at first. Plus,

(01:12:24):
I love cam Ward. I love what the kid stands for.
I love what he's about. I root for him. I
love how he talks about his parents. He's a hard worker,
everything about him, and I think he's going to be good.
I also think the Rams defense is legitimate.

Speaker 4 (01:12:40):
We're on the same well, okay, we're on the same
page on cam Ward. I didn't know how good he
was going to be, and of course you can't tell
by one game, but the show is today. If I
was betting on it, I'm gonna bet on him to
be a pretty good quarterback. Look, he didn't put up
big numbers. You're playing the Broncos with a pretty good defense.
Did you see his father in the state and every
time a player dropped the pass, he was going berserkus

(01:13:04):
at the end of the game when it when it
cost him the game. It was a good way to
break himself into the NFL. Obviously, we're gonna want to
see a lot more.

Speaker 5 (01:13:11):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:13:12):
He didn't put up a lot of passing yards, but
I think he's got the tools. I think he's gonna
be a pretty good quarterback. I think the Titans got
it right this time. And I really want to see
what he's going to put together for the next couple
of games. I'm looking forward to see how he's gonna play.

Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
Yeah, I like to I think the kids legit. I
think the kids gonna be a player. I do. I agree.
I'm with you.

Speaker 4 (01:13:32):
Uh Rams, Look, you know what's gonna happen here. They'll
go as far as Matthew Stafford is going to be healthy, right,
you can't guarantee that. I can't guarantee that. I don't
know what's going on. He is not. You know, they
always say he's one good hit away. He's not even
one good hit away. He's one soft hit away maybe

(01:13:53):
of of going down. I just don't know how long
he's gonna last. This goes back to our number one
when I told you you can't have a quarterback start
eighteen games anymore. Well, that should be like the Matthew
Stafford rule. Because he's not gonna make it eighteen games.
He's he's a fourteen to fifteen games starter. Then you're
gonna need a good backup. I like the Rams, I

(01:14:13):
just don't know if they have the you know, the strength,
if they're gonna be able to stay healthy, and if
you know if Williams is gonna have another good year
at running back. Uh, we'll see what happens. I'm starting
to go south on San Francisco, so that will help
the Rams a little bit. So uh look, I think
there'll be.

Speaker 2 (01:14:31):
All no party now with the toe.

Speaker 4 (01:14:35):
Now they got all kinds of injuries then.

Speaker 2 (01:14:36):
Yeah, yeah, I mean kittle, right, you just gotten smashed
by injuries.

Speaker 3 (01:14:42):
Yeah, they have an easy schedule, but it doesn't do
you any good if you're if you know, half your
team's out.

Speaker 4 (01:14:47):
Yeah, no, they're San Francisco's in batch such bad shape.
I think we should fire Mark Willard, who's a forty
nine er fan. That's that's how bad. I have a
new thing. If your team stinks, you should be fired.
That's but I'm a Dolphins fan.

Speaker 2 (01:15:01):
I'm a fan, so I go all right, you would have.

Speaker 4 (01:15:03):
Fired a long time ago, though, Anthony, that's for sure.
You would have been fired.

Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
Last twenty five years, I would have had a job, right.

Speaker 4 (01:15:11):
You're right about that?

Speaker 2 (01:15:12):
Right? Oh god, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:15:14):
No, you're right about that. But you're right. San Francisco
so much injuries, how's that gonna play out? I want
to see how they do with Mac Jones taken over.
So it's gonna be interesting to see what happens.

Speaker 2 (01:15:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:15:26):
I don't like Mac Jones a little bit, so.

Speaker 4 (01:15:28):
Yeah, someone's got to take the someone's got to take
the snabs. Someone's got to be quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:15:34):
Yeah, Jaguars and Bengels Man Cincinnati.

Speaker 2 (01:15:41):
I talk about Phil Sorry for Joe Barrow?

Speaker 4 (01:15:43):
My god, what are you feeling sorry for him for?
At least they didn't lose, you know, one of their
first two games like they do every year? And why
are we feeling sorry for him? He got a hindred
and singing back. At least for a year. They signed
all their wide receivers. This is the year they're gonna
go ahead and make a run. This They're all in
this year right there. I wouldn't be surprised if they
end up making the trade halfway through. But this is

(01:16:04):
supposed to be their year. Let's see if they're good
enough to take on the other.

Speaker 3 (01:16:07):
I still won't. I don't say it. They're just a babe.
I think they're just a poorly run franchise.

Speaker 4 (01:16:14):
So we're talking about Cleveland or Cincinnati.

Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
Cincinnati, Yeah, I know, I didn't one of the cheapest franchise.

Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
In the League.

Speaker 4 (01:16:21):
I would think to me, it was coming into the
year it was a Baltimore Cincinnati. I didn't think Pittsburgh
was going to go ahead and able to compete against
those two teams. I'm starting to go back on Daddy.
In the division, yea, yeah, in the division and yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:16:37):
I think it's clearly a Raven's division even after losing
the opener.

Speaker 4 (01:16:42):
You're probably right on that. But that one stung big
time too though. I mean, you can't have that happen.
You're up forty to twenty five. You have a win
percentage of ninety nine point one percent. I don't care
if you're on the road or whatever. You have to football.

Speaker 3 (01:16:56):
I mean, I mean Derek Henry, who's had an incredible
not he laid on the carpet and then the next thing,
you know, boom.

Speaker 4 (01:17:05):
He never lays. Yeah, he never lays it never.

Speaker 2 (01:17:08):
Never.

Speaker 3 (01:17:09):
That was just that was an awesome that that game
was incredible.

Speaker 4 (01:17:14):
It was it was fantastic.

Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
Someone throws Josh Allen makes My.

Speaker 3 (01:17:19):
God, he's just ridiculous about put on the money, like
throwing ropes.

Speaker 2 (01:17:28):
My god, his arm is ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (01:17:30):
You know what's so funny if somebody actually sent us
a tweet getting on Josh Allen. I can't find it now.
I'll have to go ahead and go through because we're
getting a lot of tweets this morning. But I'm like,
out of all the quarterbacks out there, that's the one
you want to pick on. That's that's the guy you're
gonna tell me he's not really all about good. I'm
not going yeah, oh god, I'll have to find I

(01:17:50):
have to go back.

Speaker 2 (01:17:51):
I mean watching there's nothing better.

Speaker 3 (01:17:54):
You know what's funny, Like, you look at the quarterback
matchups and obviously we're gonna be talking a lot about
hurts and homes because you know you're going back at it.
They played twice in the Super Bowl and now you
get the rematched regular season.

Speaker 2 (01:18:12):
It's a lot of fun. But there's nothing better than
Lamar and Josh going at it. Look, watching those two
is awesome.

Speaker 4 (01:18:20):
Yeah, no, you're right about that. Look Lamar sometimes he'll
get a knock for not putting up big numbers out there,
but no, there's no doubt about that. I wanted to
ask you something real cool.

Speaker 2 (01:18:30):
I love Lamar.

Speaker 3 (01:18:31):
Yeah, I think as a thrower, I love Lamar. My
God about making every throw.

Speaker 4 (01:18:36):
I'm not so sure. I love him as a thrower.

Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
Everything I do. I love him as a thrower.

Speaker 4 (01:18:41):
I do love him as a quarterback. Remember when I
asked you about quarterbacks who are not in the best
situation on the best teams, but they moved to another
team and maybe they've become good. Like you brought up
Daniel Jones, isn't that Trevor Lawrence. I mean, if Trevor
Lawrence played for like what, I don't know, the Eagles
or something like that, how much better he would be.

(01:19:01):
I really think he's a good quarterback, but he just
has not lived up the expectations when he came into
the league.

Speaker 3 (01:19:07):
Dude, I'd like to believe that I would. I'd like
to believe that. I want to see it. I still
want to see it.

Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
I had to.

Speaker 3 (01:19:16):
You know, it's funny you bring this up because I
struggle with it, and I go, there's.

Speaker 2 (01:19:20):
No way I could have been that wrong in that kid, like.

Speaker 3 (01:19:24):
Thought, right, yeah, he wants You're like, there's no way
in the world that this kid's not a player.

Speaker 4 (01:19:32):
And we give him all. It's Jacksonville, so we give
him a little bit of a break there, but he's
not even close. This is how many years in the
league now and he's still not putting up any numbers.

Speaker 2 (01:19:43):
We were not winning games.

Speaker 4 (01:19:45):
Well they're won and all we'll see what happens.

Speaker 3 (01:19:47):
I'm just talking about coming in here, right, yeah, right,
true about now. Part of it is you know who's
around you and you're coaching right like you know, I
don't think he said the best coaching.

Speaker 4 (01:19:59):
That's one hundred.

Speaker 2 (01:20:00):
I agree with you there. But you know, I can't
think he's I can't believe he's a failure.

Speaker 3 (01:20:05):
I'm with you, man, Yeah, I don't know about a failure.

Speaker 4 (01:20:10):
But yeah, I'm with you.

Speaker 2 (01:20:11):
No, I can't.

Speaker 3 (01:20:12):
But when I say failure, I mean the expectations, right.
All right, Well come back, big hour next Fellas on Fox.

Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
Ry Eagles in Chiefs. You had a story.

Speaker 4 (01:21:18):
Yeah, You're like, I'm down here about your story. You're like,
I look, I'm not good on dates. But I think
it was around nineteen ninety four, so we have to
go back a little bit here. I was just telling
the story to somebody and I'm like, you know, I've
never told this on the air, and he thought it
was fantastic, So we go back. I think it was
around nineteen ninety four, was the late summer, and I
was doing sports radio in Phoenix, Arizona, and we were

(01:21:42):
doing a three on three basketball contest. You know with
the media, you know, other radio stations, newspapers and stuff
like that, Anthony, if you know, if anybody knows anything
about the media, it was like it was like the
NBA Championship, you know, what I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:21:56):
Yeah, yeah, I know we've done the same things.

Speaker 4 (01:21:58):
Yeah, when you're playing the crosstown rivals anything like that,
it is huge. Well, here we are, and one of
the guys brings a ringer, right, he brings a professional
player to play in the three on three media contest. Right,
But he's not a basketball player. He's a baseball player

(01:22:20):
who happens to be very good at basketball.

Speaker 2 (01:22:23):
All right.

Speaker 4 (01:22:24):
I could probably have you try to guess. He was
probably one of the more famous players back in nineteen
ninety four. Remember now, this is when the baseball had
a strike, right, the players go on strike. That's why
he was eligible to play. You want to take one.
Guess who, I'll give it to you.

Speaker 2 (01:22:43):
Well, what town was this?

Speaker 4 (01:22:46):
This was in Phoenix, Arizona. But it has nothing to
do with Phoenix. He just one of the guys knew
him personally. He was famous. He was probably the most
funs close Cal Ripken, Right, and this is before Cal
has the record. This is Cal breaks the record one
year later.

Speaker 2 (01:23:09):
Here.

Speaker 4 (01:23:10):
I I didn't know that. I have no I just
figured he was a good baseball player. Right as soon
as he shows up. I turned to my teammates and
I say, I got Cal. I got Cal. Okay, nobody
else is gonna guard him. I'm gonna guard him. And
I started thinking if I and look, I don't want
to hurt anybody on purpose, but I'm a young talk

(01:23:31):
show host. I go, can you imagine if I heard him,
he gets hurt, can't play baseball, and the streak could
stop because of me. It's crossing my mind then, right, Yeah,
I mean I did not have any weapons or anything,
but I'm like, first of all, I'm taller than Cal.

(01:23:52):
I think, all right, and I weighed more and I
told my guys, I go, uh, as soon as we
checked in the ball, I said to him, you know,
because I'm cocky. I'm thirty years old at the time,
and I say to him, I go, you're ready to
play a man sport now, because uh, you know, there
is a little contact.

Speaker 5 (01:24:08):
Cal.

Speaker 4 (01:24:09):
This ain't baseball, you know, I am. I am just talking.
I'm just talking so much smack to him. It's not
even funny. I can only imagine what is going through
his mind at this point, you.

Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
Know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, I can relate.

Speaker 4 (01:24:25):
He's like, who is this guy? And he's not giving
me any respect? So Cal gets the ball first. We're
playing three on three, and I'm like, okay, we'll see
how tough this guy is. Okay, by the way, he's
actually stronger than he looks. I have to start by
saying that. So he comes in, he's right handed, I'm

(01:24:46):
playing him to the left. I'm like, as soon as
he puts the ball up, I am smacking him so hard, okay,
that he's not gonna know what hit him. I'm the drive.
I took my elbow and hit him in the temple
right when he went up with the shot. I smacked
him nothing but arm, nothing but forearm. Okay, forget the ball,

(01:25:08):
you mean you. It was like a smack in a movie,
Like a girl smack and a guy you're nothing but smack.
He shrugged me off like I was a third grade girl,
Like I didn't do it, Like he's wiped, smugged off
that slap made the layup, looked at me and goes,
is that all you really got, buddy? I'm like, I

(01:25:30):
just hit you about as hard as I can. His
forearms are like Popeye.

Speaker 2 (01:25:35):
Do you understand that, don't you?

Speaker 4 (01:25:37):
And for the rest of the game he just abused
me down in the hall I mean, he hurt me.
I'm telling you, Anthony, he hurt me. He's a pretty
good pay basketball player. Don't know if you know, I
had no idea. I'm just like, come on, this ain't baseball.
What are you gonna throw a baseball at me?

Speaker 5 (01:25:54):
Cow?

Speaker 4 (01:25:54):
I mean, I am just talking so much smack. I'm
surprised he didn't punch me in the face, to be
honest with you, eye, yeah, I'm sure he was laughing
at the end of the thing. But who brings a
ringer like cal Ripken Junior to your three on three
basketball contest?

Speaker 5 (01:26:09):
Now?

Speaker 4 (01:26:09):
Who does something like that to begin with?

Speaker 2 (01:26:10):
You know?

Speaker 4 (01:26:12):
But I's story, man, that was a lot of fun, man,
I mean he was. He was actually a good guy
about it. But Anthony, he is strong man. I was
not ready for that. I mean his I mean I
should have realized that. But his his arms. I don't
know what he could bench or anything like that, but
he he was strong man. It'll messing with this guy.

Speaker 2 (01:26:33):
Wouldn't look at for arms man in baseball.

Speaker 4 (01:26:36):
Yeah, you know, no contact sport. Let's not get too crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:26:40):
Now, come on, all right, let's get into us tomorrow
because we've got a lot of great games tomorrow. I mean,
the Bears and Lions are really it's a really interesting game.
You're gonna you're gonna look at Pittsburgh and Seattle. But

(01:27:00):
to my game is going to be a great one
in Lanta and Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (01:27:05):
But the jewel is Eagles and Chiefs, the rematch of
Super Bowl fifty nine. And my question is what's changed
since February.

Speaker 4 (01:27:21):
Well, first of all, Travis Kelsey is aging like in
dog years, right, I mean it's like one year is
taking seven years off his NFL career. Matter of fact,
the first game, if he didn't have that touchdown, I
wouldn't even sure the guy was playing out there. To
be honest with you, I am like everybody else, Anthony,
and maybe this is maybe I've just jumped down the bandwagon.

(01:27:41):
I'm listening to everybody else too much. I also believe
the Kansas City Chiefs are nearing the end. They don't
scare me offensively, they don't scare me. Mahomes doesn't scare
me like he used to. He's still a pretty good quarterback.
But I'm not afraid that he's going to wow.

Speaker 3 (01:27:56):
I mean about weapons, right, Your quarterback only as good
as the weapons.

Speaker 4 (01:28:01):
You have, and now they lost their wide receiver.

Speaker 3 (01:28:04):
He's gonna be Worthy likely after after the friendly fire,
you know, bagging in the Kelsey. It looks like he's
he's listed his questionable. I don't think he's gonna play.
You're already down, Racy Rice. So you're already down, Racy Rice.

Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:28:21):
You know it's gonna be a lot of You're gonna
they're gonna need Thornton to really play a role down
the field because he needed down the field threat. You're
gonna have Hollywood Brown, but Thornton's a guy that they like,
I think, to kind of stretch the field. Mahomes had
him open last week. He really had separation three different times.

Speaker 4 (01:28:43):
Right Worthy? Is that the one Worthy dropped? Is that?

Speaker 2 (01:28:45):
Yeah? Yeah, Thornton.

Speaker 4 (01:28:47):
Do you think Mahomes is losing it a little bit
or is that just because of the lack of weapons
around him?

Speaker 2 (01:28:51):
The lack of weapons?

Speaker 4 (01:28:52):
Yeah, yeah, well, I mean he's certainly not the Patrick
Mahomes of of the last couple of years, that's for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:28:59):
Yeah, But it's that it's protection. I mean, in the
Super Bowl it wasn't Mahomes's fault, no, but I mean
it it was a fact they couldn't block Jalen Carter right,
It was a jail break situation.

Speaker 4 (01:29:12):
You could actually say that this began last year because
they were a little lucky winning all those one score games.
That's not sustainable. You can't expect to pull that. You
can't even expect to be five hundred in one score
games if you're lucky. That wasn't going to happen again.
And they were very lucky last year with those one
score games.

Speaker 3 (01:29:30):
Anthony, Yeah, I think their issues come from a lack
of protection and a lack of weapons. Listen when when
Tyreek Hill is running free and they look great and
Kelsey's young, much younger and much more dynamic a player.

Speaker 2 (01:29:51):
It's all about what you got as weapons.

Speaker 3 (01:29:53):
And you know how dynamic you are as an offense,
and you look at where they are now, and your
Pinchecko is a decent running back, but he's not gonna
They don't have a lot of fear in that running game,
defending that run game, and down the field you're being
down those two guys to really hurt your offense.

Speaker 4 (01:30:15):
I don't you know, I don't know if this is possible.
You know how they say if you start off the
year zero to two in the NFL, you have like
what a eight percent chance of making the playoffs or.

Speaker 2 (01:30:24):
Something out seventeen games.

Speaker 4 (01:30:26):
But yeah, yeah, it's something disgustingly low. Did the Kansas
City Chiefs already have a must win game in game
two already? Or is it that still too early for
must win games?

Speaker 3 (01:30:37):
Too early for must win because you can go back
and you look at their schedule, there's plenty of opportunities
to get right.

Speaker 4 (01:30:44):
Right, right.

Speaker 3 (01:30:45):
But look, if you're first of all, I know Ay
Reid very well and Steve Spagnolo, and.

Speaker 2 (01:30:53):
They're very close to the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (01:30:55):
They don't want to lose the Eagles, no, no, and
they got embarrassed in the Super Bowl by the Eagle.

Speaker 4 (01:31:00):
But also you'll be oh and two, you're already glassed
in the division. Everybody in that division is already one game.
So for you to win that division you have to
crawl ahead of three different teams. Already you're starting at
the bottom and you're starting oh and two. I know
mathematically it is still possible, but you know, you got
to think that maybe already it's a must win situation
for Kansas City in this but you can't start oh

(01:31:20):
and too and still expect to win the division.

Speaker 3 (01:31:22):
Well, here's the chief schedule. You're at the Giants. After that,
you're fine, But then your home against Baltimore tough, tough games.

Speaker 4 (01:31:30):
That's a loss. Forget about that.

Speaker 2 (01:31:31):
At Jacksonville okay, and.

Speaker 3 (01:31:34):
Then your home Lions, which will be in that's a
Sunday night game. That'll be interesting. Now it's all about
the lie. Everything's about your offensive line. Sounds so cliche,
but it's so true.

Speaker 2 (01:31:50):
It just is like if you.

Speaker 3 (01:31:52):
Got look at late last week, the Lions couldn't run
the football.

Speaker 4 (01:31:56):
Yeah, everything If if everything's all about the offensive line,
how come they're not the like the number one overall pick. Ever,
you're never like climbing the.

Speaker 9 (01:32:03):
Ladder because because they're so hard, because offensive linemen are
so hard to project, they're hard to project it at
stars and putting together an O line is tough.

Speaker 3 (01:32:20):
So much of it is developments. I mean, I come
from the land of Staltlan University. So Jeff Staltlin is
the Eagles offensive line coach. He's the best offensive line
coach in the league. And all you got to do
is look at where look at how that line is
year after year. That's why they won, That's why they

(01:32:42):
won in seventeen, and it's why their offense is as
good as it is.

Speaker 4 (01:32:47):
I mean, you can't put any big fat dude there.
You can't just take it.

Speaker 3 (01:32:52):
Seriously, but all kidding decided like you look at you
watched last week and Gibbs.

Speaker 2 (01:32:59):
It couldn't run the all.

Speaker 4 (01:33:03):
That's a big part of their.

Speaker 2 (01:33:04):
It's a huge part. Everything comes off the run game
right right, right, Although.

Speaker 3 (01:33:08):
Like Saint Brown and Jamison Williams, right, you know Laporta,
all that stems from the run game, and they couldn't
get the run game going.

Speaker 4 (01:33:18):
Right, Nope, one hundred percent. That's why I was gonna say,
I'm still a little bit out about the Lions. I'm
not so sure they're gonna have as good of a
year the last couple of years like they did this year,
like they did the last couple of years.

Speaker 3 (01:33:29):
Well, losing Frank Ragnow was that like you lose your center.
They also lost their right guard, Like you lose Frank Ragnow,
that's a big deal, Like he's when he retired, that
was a huge hole in that middle, that.

Speaker 4 (01:33:42):
Line and like you said, line play is important. There
we just asked, is there a must win situation? Are
the Bears Lions and must win situation already even though
both teams owen one and you can't start owing. Maybe
for the Lions it might be a must win situation.
I'm thinking for maybe them bisore at home, but that's
an important game, no doubt about that.

Speaker 3 (01:34:04):
Yeah, I mean yeah, I mean if you're the lines,
I mean there's more desperation, you know, game.

Speaker 4 (01:34:10):
Yeah, you can't lose that too.

Speaker 2 (01:34:13):
Yeah. But back to Eagles chiefs, Yeah, I don't know.
I look at it, and the Eagles won't have Dallas Goddard.
He's going to be out, so that's a big loss
for him. They he's really good.

Speaker 3 (01:34:27):
At sealing off the edge of the run game, and
he's when they go twelve personnel. He's a really good blocker,
so they can max protect and got It will block
for you. He's also their hot read and Spags loves
to bring pressure, so that's the other issue. So he's

(01:34:49):
a big loss for the Eagles offense. That said, I
just don't know how kids see he's going to score
And well I would.

Speaker 4 (01:34:55):
Ask you, what did you think about Philadelphia's win over
the Cowboys? It wasn't impressive. I guess the bottom line
is all you have to do is get the win.
Jalen Hurts threw the ball well, but he didn't put
up big numbers out there.

Speaker 2 (01:35:07):
I'm not a big something.

Speaker 3 (01:35:08):
He's not gonna put up big knumbers like yeah, yeah,
he never puts up He's not throwing for three He's
not throwing for three hundred and three touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (01:35:17):
That's not he does. No. But I positioned like a
point card.

Speaker 4 (01:35:20):
I thought they were going to man handle Dallas. To
be honest with you, I thought Dallas was done and
that they're just gonna not roll over. But I said, oh,
this is not going to be a good year for them.
I thought Philadelphia was going to crush him in that game.

Speaker 2 (01:35:33):
Dallas is sneaky Dallas.

Speaker 3 (01:35:35):
You know Dallas's defense is it's still even without Micah.
I mean, look, they were able to hold they were
able to hold Saquon really in check. Other than a
couple of runs. I thought they did a great job
and everything cast the game over played really well.

Speaker 2 (01:35:54):
Stuff and stuff in the middle of that line right.

Speaker 4 (01:35:57):
Quon was so pedestrian in that one, I think six yards.
But they did a good job bottling them up. Each
time they did. They had one long run like fifteen
sixteen yards. Other than that, he didn't do squat that game.

Speaker 3 (01:36:08):
No, and so, and then it was a weird night
too because you had the weather delay, right, which also
hurt things. And then you know, in fairness to the Cowboys,
you add those two drops. I'm not going to call
the third one to dropt, but you add the two
really bad drops by.

Speaker 4 (01:36:28):
CD at the end of the game, the one that
was at the end of.

Speaker 2 (01:36:30):
The game and the fumble.

Speaker 3 (01:36:33):
Remember they're going in and then they fumble at the
eight yard line.

Speaker 4 (01:36:38):
They could have won that game. They could have pulled
that out. Can you imagine if Philadelphia who lost to
the Cowboys, what your eagle fans would have been saying? Then,
Oh my goodness, man, come on, now, here's the thing.
I'm sure they acted like they lost anyway, So.

Speaker 3 (01:36:51):
Nah, no, no, but you're you're right now. Would have
been ugly had they lost, it would have been ugly.

Speaker 4 (01:36:59):
Heads after roll. Well, they gotta go. I can't believe this.
We don't lose to the Cowboys. How did that happen?

Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
I know, I know, good goots, my dog is trying
to get me trash.

Speaker 3 (01:37:13):
Oh my goodness, man, bad boy, you don't do that.

Speaker 4 (01:37:21):
Put your dog's name good goots, Good Goots. What kind
of name is that?

Speaker 2 (01:37:27):
It's Italian for squash.

Speaker 4 (01:37:30):
Okay, I got see. I name all my dogs after the.

Speaker 2 (01:37:32):
Team, so right right now. But we call him Gutsie.
He's a big sheep dog.

Speaker 4 (01:37:38):
We have Stanley named after the Stanley Cup.

Speaker 3 (01:37:40):
So Lord Stanley, Lord Stanley is name there love Lord Stanley.

Speaker 2 (01:37:46):
That's pretty good man, That's that's very good.

Speaker 3 (01:37:50):
Ultimately in the rematch, who you got in the rematch?

Speaker 4 (01:37:56):
Look, I'm anti Kansas City, so I'm gonna be on
Philadelphia the whole way. Kansas City's got to prove to
me that they're gonna be like a little bit of
the Kansas City of old. I don't think they can.
Like you said, they've got many injuries. Pacheco certainly doesn't
scare me at the running back position. No, I gotta
go with Philadelphia. They're the much better team. And you
could tell that's why Philadelphia is not only a point

(01:38:16):
and a half favorite. The Chiefs get like four points
for home field, so they're really saying Philadelphia is like
a five and a half or a six point favorite
or better team on a neutral site. And I believe that.
I like Philadelphia in the game.

Speaker 2 (01:38:29):
Yeah, you know again, Jalen Carter is going.

Speaker 4 (01:38:32):
To be back, and we hope, right, we're not if
he doesn't do anything stupid.

Speaker 3 (01:38:37):
Right well, I mean he when he's listen, he's a beast,
that kid.

Speaker 2 (01:38:45):
Yes, he's scary.

Speaker 3 (01:38:47):
Now he's unpredictable, but he's scary anybody he disrupts.

Speaker 2 (01:38:52):
I mean, he didn't make a tackle.

Speaker 3 (01:38:55):
He wasn't even a statue in the Super Bowl last year,
and he was the best player in the field.

Speaker 2 (01:39:03):
Because you have the double triple.

Speaker 4 (01:39:05):
No you do, and there's not no Dobty is a
great player, very emotional. That was crazy though, getting thrown
out of the game like that, that was insane.

Speaker 2 (01:39:13):
I know, I know, I know. Crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:39:16):
All right, we're gonna take a quick to we'll come
right back. And we got the brain, so we got
it sharp, so you're gonna face the brain. Nice, nice,
and we'll go through all the games and you guys
will pick all the games against the spread.

Speaker 4 (01:39:30):
All right, nice, I'm ready to roll.

Speaker 2 (01:39:32):
All right.

Speaker 3 (01:39:33):
There he is Arnie Spaniel and Anthony Gargana together with

Speaker 3 (01:39:50):
A welcome back, Fellas, Arnie Spaniard. I'm Anthony Gargana from
the Fox Sports Radio studios.

Speaker 2 (01:40:02):
All right, it's a Fox Football Saturday. We love it.

Speaker 3 (01:40:04):
Got a big college slate ahead of us today. We
have a full NFL slate tomorrow, a double header on
Monday night. But you don't you can't want to abolish
Monday night football, especially on a weekend where we're gonna
have a double header Monday night.

Speaker 4 (01:40:24):
Well, don't ask me about the Chargers Raiders, but there's
gonna be one o'clock in the morning when the game
ends out here. That's that's a little late. You know
that you're not staying up till one o'clock in the morning.
Who you you got me wrong, dude.

Speaker 3 (01:40:37):
I'm a West Coast I love watching West Coast accent.

Speaker 4 (01:40:40):
That's that's the late one. Look, I'm mug at night.

Speaker 3 (01:40:43):
Al So, I love I love West Coast games, hockey, basketball, baseball.

Speaker 2 (01:40:49):
I watch it. I love it.

Speaker 4 (01:40:50):
They used to do a Monday night where they kind
of overlapped it a little bit, so they would start
the second game.

Speaker 2 (01:40:56):
Only they won't do that later in the season.

Speaker 4 (01:40:58):
Yeah, so I'm okay with that, but that's a late weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:41:02):
I want it staggered. Like I love the seven in
the ten. I don't want seven, fifteen, eight fifteen, they're
all at the same time. I don't want to say
what I want. What I want is give me seven
and ten. Like I watch two games.

Speaker 4 (01:41:16):
How will give me seven and like eight thirty or
something like that. Why do you not really like the
way college doesn't? I mean there's games kicking off every hour.
It seems like I.

Speaker 3 (01:41:25):
Know it's differ because schools, So you're gonna have that, right,
But I prefer, like a NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:41:33):
I prefer to watch one game and then watch the
next fol game, right right.

Speaker 4 (01:41:37):
Well, there's so.

Speaker 2 (01:41:38):
I've never been a red zone I'm I'm a weirdo.
I'm not a red zone guy.

Speaker 4 (01:41:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:41:44):
No, Yeah, I just like.

Speaker 4 (01:41:46):
Watching get fired for that. Stop it. What's wrong with you?

Speaker 2 (01:41:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:41:49):
What do you mean you're not a red zone I
can't watch football without.

Speaker 2 (01:41:52):
The red zone. Yeah, I'm not. I'm not a red
zone guy. I'm not.

Speaker 4 (01:41:56):
What do you do? Just watch one game and that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:41:59):
Yeah, I I might watch.

Speaker 3 (01:42:02):
Like I have the package, right, So what I'll do
is I'll watch, you know, I'll.

Speaker 2 (01:42:08):
Watch a game.

Speaker 3 (01:42:09):
If it's an Eagles game, I'm watching a whole Leagals game, right,
But I might switch off here and there, like halftime
or whatever. But normally, if it's just an NFL Sunday
I watch, I'll pick the best game, I'll watch it,
and then I'll meander, right, So like I might meander
at halftime and stoppages just to say commercial breaks, I'll meander,

(01:42:34):
but I'm always going. I'll always go back to the game.
I love nettling in and watching a full game, like
Sunday night football, mothera night football. I like to watch
a full game.

Speaker 4 (01:42:43):
Can't do a full I'll do the red zone on
one TV. The other TV has the local games on, uh,
you know, and up here we get like Patriots or
Jets or the Giants or Bills, and then I'll have
that on the other TV kind of watching that. Or
I'll shift around. If there's a close game I really
want to watch, but I gotta have.

Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
The main team. I like to watch it on fold.

Speaker 4 (01:43:04):
Oh you can't have everything, man, you gotta you gotta
see the scores. You gotta you gotta have that quick
run around.

Speaker 2 (01:43:09):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:43:09):
I have my phone, you know, Mike, So I'm keeping
an eye on what's going on right right on my phone.

Speaker 2 (01:43:16):
But I like to watch the games, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:43:18):
I know a guy who likes to watch the games too,
and he's always on his phone and every other contraption.
He's our man. The brain are betting insideer, Good morning, brain.

Speaker 5 (01:43:30):
Hey, how are you guys? Good to hear your voice?

Speaker 3 (01:43:32):
Are you a Are you a full game or a
red zone mame?

Speaker 5 (01:43:37):
Well, you know it's interesting for it's I do both,
but usually I a same thing. I don't hurt your feelings,
but because if I have so many, so much action
in these games, I actually kind of prefer the red zone. Look,
I know you're a huge, like obviously huge Eagles fan,
So in that case, I understand it. You know you

(01:43:58):
want to watch just the Eagles or what or whatnot.
But obviously, if it's a standalone game, like you know,
Sunday Night Football, Money Night Football, Thurst and Nay football,
I mean I'm watching every second, every play, but on
the Sunday usually Rid Zone.

Speaker 2 (01:44:11):
Yeah you're a red Zone guy. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:44:13):
Can I jump in here?

Speaker 5 (01:44:14):
Can I?

Speaker 4 (01:44:14):
I want to ask you, Brad a question. I hate
to take over Antony, but you know, Brad, I'm just
curious about your betting scheme. Do you try to like
middle all the games, you know, being a professional gambler
out there? And are you a live better Like do
you say there goes down that quarterback? So I'm gonna
go and bet a million dollars on the other side
live bet?

Speaker 5 (01:44:34):
Well only I don't my minimum that's two million, Arnie. Ye,
a million.

Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
Dollars I wish.

Speaker 5 (01:44:42):
Here's the thing. Yeah, great question. Yeah, I love live betting, Arnie.
I always say it, you know, I'll say it again.
Best way, in my opinion to bet all this stuff
is live betting. It gives you look you can see.
And Anthony is a big thing of matchups, right, you
always talk matching. Like my probably my two favorite live
betting stories involved the same team is like, can I
feel like if if anyone was just watching the game,

(01:45:04):
you just I don't care if you're what fan of
what team you were, unless she was Stevie wonder you
do legally blind, you would not known to that. The
Tampa Bay Kansas City super Bowl and the Padelka Kansasy
is Well where you could just tell Kansidy could not
protect Patrick Mahomes had nothing to do with Mahomes not
being great. It had not doing anything other than the
fact that God himself couldn't have won that game for

(01:45:26):
Kansas City because they could not protect the quarterback. And
when you see something like that happening where a team
just especially the offensive line, just cannot protect, like here
another one last week Joe Burrow could not get protected
at all against the Browns, and there was a way
to take Cleveland live because they had seven totally yards

(01:45:49):
in the second half. So yeah, I love live betting.
To me, anything I do live wins a higher ratio
of anything I do I call pre flop because you
get a chance to see how the game's going. I
know Anthony always talks about that matchup wise, so uh,
in terms of middling, sometimes I do. It depends what
it is. Not all the time, They'll.

Speaker 4 (01:46:09):
Know I love it. I love live betting. That's that's
the best way to get a perspective. It I do
like that and a good.

Speaker 2 (01:46:14):
Wile you're gonna watch the game, not just red zone.

Speaker 4 (01:46:17):
Well it's there's a major injury at that point.

Speaker 3 (01:46:20):
Well, but you got to actually watch the game to
learn and see the matchup anyway. Yeah, but I'm just joking.
I get everybody why everybody loves It's a great thing.
So it is what it is. Uh, let's go college first,
all right, brain, and now just full disclosure. The brain
is betting this stuff on Monday and Tuesday, so it
gets different lines.

Speaker 2 (01:46:41):
But are there any lines right now? What do you like?

Speaker 5 (01:46:45):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:46:46):
In the early card?

Speaker 5 (01:46:48):
Okay, it's if you can still get and a funny
I'm right now. I can't bring up my my computer. Guys,
come Almo, my phone. I mucchi at the hotel, so
I can't struggle to bring it's you. That's not working great.
But the Georgia Tech against Clemson game, if it's still
three and a half again, it opens freaking like seven.

Speaker 4 (01:47:10):
But as I have Clemson Clemson minus two and a
half right now.

Speaker 5 (01:47:14):
Oh it's down at two and ah, I cannot read that. Wow,
that has really gone down. Ox I did have a
plus seven ticket on on on Georgia Tech.

Speaker 3 (01:47:22):
I think, yeah, Brain's got George Braid's got Georgia Tech
plus seven.

Speaker 2 (01:47:26):
It is now down to two and a half.

Speaker 5 (01:47:28):
Wow, well that's yeah, that's that's too. I'm gonna give
you a game. I think it's a much higher scoring
than maybe people think. I have not been impressed with
Texas A and M's defense at all watching them in
the first two weeks, and notre game I thought defensively
was gonna be really really good. They didn't look that
great to me, at least against Miami. I think that's
total sitting around fifty. I think that game is me

(01:47:51):
much higher scoring that I made. That total more like
mid fifties.

Speaker 2 (01:47:55):
I think that's why I love that play. That's a
great play over.

Speaker 5 (01:47:59):
In the notre name Texas A and M game, that
would be one of the games is right there. Plays.
I'll give you an underdog that I actually think it's gonna win. Also,
South Carolina I think is an overrated team.

Speaker 2 (01:48:10):
I really do.

Speaker 5 (01:48:12):
To me, they should have lost to Virginia Tech in
an opening game, and they both played interest and they
both played Virginia Tech. Vanderbilt out game Virginia Tech by
two hundred and sixty yards. And beat them like twenty
four points. I think Banter's gonna win. I'm not saying
because my gooes are either. I think bander Bilt's gonna win.

(01:48:32):
I think that's an outright upset where you can, you know,
take around. I think it's around three and a half
four points, and I'd like them to when that came
out right, give you what else? Try to think what.

Speaker 4 (01:48:43):
Others rad What about Wisconsin? Alabama? I mean that's the
big one, and we know that Alabama. I mean it's
gonna get a little tight under the collar for the
boors if he doesn't start getting some wins over these
unraked opponents. Wisconsin comes in two and oh, but that's
a big line. It's twenty and a half right now.

Speaker 5 (01:49:00):
Really is a big line. I mean it really really
is a big line. You know, it's say, Wisconsin's only
allowed I think like seven points this year, something that
they've really even allowed anything. Here's the thing. I think
it's very very very difficult, Arnie, for Wisconsin to score here.
I think Wisconsin, I would look, Wisconsin's team total under

(01:49:20):
would probably be my favorite that here. I think Wisconsin's
really going to struggle against Alabama. I think the line's
more or less right. I thought it should have been
right in that twenty one area. Lean here Alabama, but
I'm passing, but I actually like I don't think Wisconsin's
going to score any points, so like their team total.

Speaker 3 (01:49:40):
Under Yeah, I like that. I like alab I do
like al Man in that game. All right, anything in
Georgia Tennessee.

Speaker 5 (01:49:48):
You know, yeah, that's another game. It's it's interesting. I
think Tennessee is very very live here, and George is
another team that just is not impressing me. I think
this is actually probably the best game on the card.
I think, but this line has drastically come down now.
Georgia they played two you know teams in Austin p
and Marshall. They didn't look good in either one. You know, listen,

(01:50:12):
here's the thing. The line gone down so freaking much.
So it's it's hard for me to recommend a team
getting Yeah, I for me at that number, an think
it again. I just I can't. I can't be disingenuous
as to pass. I liked it the opening when it
was seven, but at three and a half, I think
it's the right number, I really do. I will tell

(01:50:33):
you another.

Speaker 1 (01:50:33):
Team the problem.

Speaker 2 (01:50:36):
I don't know what to think of Gunner Stocked.

Speaker 5 (01:50:39):
You know, it's funny, Yeah, it's funny. He last year
he came in and he looked like the part so
to speak, where he looked like kind of like feisty,
and he played pretty well. Again, it says you said,
not enough data really to know how good you think
he is or is not. I'll give you one other
game more than scary game in the line seven and
a half right now, but I think it merts it.

(01:51:00):
Coastal Carolina is a team that's traditionally been like pretty good.
They got they've been awful this year. They lost to
Virginia I think like by like thirty or so in
their first game, or maybe there's even more than that.
And then last week playing an FCS team they were
a massive favorite and barely won. East Carolina me is

(01:51:23):
a solid team. They actually you know, played m C State,
may actually play MCA State.

Speaker 2 (01:51:29):
Well.

Speaker 5 (01:51:30):
I think East Carolina and I think that line should
be double digits. Wow, think they blow out Coastal Carolina,
even though Coastal Carolina's obviously been a pretty good team
in the past. But we're not talking past. We're talking
twenty twenty five.

Speaker 4 (01:51:41):
You know, I cut out, so I don't know if
you covered the South Florida Miami seventeen and a half
in South Florida looks good at too, and all Miami. Look,
they're looking really good. But can they cover that big
of a spread.

Speaker 5 (01:51:52):
It's kind of Arnie. It reminds me exactly we just
talk about the George Tafigi. I did bet Miami lang
fourteen in the open man. Seventeen and a half is
just a different number. Nine. I trust Miami a lot more,
and I trust Florida. It's seventeen and a half. I
just I can't to me. It's just it's a pass.

Speaker 2 (01:52:13):
Yeah, it's too many points.

Speaker 3 (01:52:15):
All right, sit tight, brain, We'll come back and we'll
go through rapid fire NFL. We'll get your picks on
the NFL and any props you like that's coming up next.

Speaker 2 (01:52:26):
Don't go anywhere.

Speaker 3 (01:52:27):

(01:53:10):
tune into Countdown the Kickoff, presented by bet MGM, every
Saturday and Sunday morning right here on Fox Sports Radio
and the iHeartRadio app. The Brain joins us back and
we go over Sunday's card. Let's look at the one
o'clock games. What stands out Brain?

Speaker 5 (01:53:27):
You know anything? My favorite play and I got at
a really good Sunday last Sunday, But my biggest bet
by a wide margin, was on the Giants. They obviously
didn't come close to getting there. The US were awful.
Russell Wilson, I should say, specifically was awful against Washington.

(01:53:48):
But here's the I look at this handicap and that
you have the teams right now, they're basically in the
same amount of points. Are grinning last week against Washington,
who to me, is clearly better than Dallas. The line
sitting you can it's five and a half and I
just again, I see this game as much more of
a I think Dallas. I don't think Dallas is as
talented as the Giants. I think Giants have more good

(01:54:09):
players than Dallas does. Not a wide receiver, quarterback, but
I think more or less most other spots, especially defensively.
I think to be a close game. I thanks to
me close game. I think the Giants can keep this
one within five and a half points. Stable coaching for
his job. Russe Wilson coaching for his job.

Speaker 3 (01:54:27):
I mean, I love you, and you're always right. I
hate to go against you. I just don't like Russell Wilson.
You about this all the time. I think he's cooked.
I wouldn't go anywhere near him. I'm not saying they
can't cover, but I especially the way the Cowboys took
away Barkley in the Eagles run game, I wouldn't go

(01:54:51):
near Russell Wilson.

Speaker 2 (01:54:54):
I think he's horrible.

Speaker 5 (01:54:55):
Yeah, listen, I'm not fighting you in that. I'm really not.
I just think think this game will be close. I
think it'll be, you know, one score game, and if
it lands on.

Speaker 2 (01:55:05):
You know, the little bit.

Speaker 5 (01:55:09):
This line, this line, the look ahead line was three
and I don't think it's mereadly going up that many
points space off what we saw on week won. But
we'll see how it plays out.

Speaker 4 (01:55:18):
Hey, Brad, you know, we were talking about some of
the games earlier and I I forget which one and
Anthony's like, pump the breaks. It's only been one week,
but the show is today. So with that being said,
even though it's one week going in the NFL, is
there any team that you want to take a mulligan
on that you said, you know what, they're better than
I thought, or they're worse than I thought, or I'm
jumping on them next game, or I'm going against them

(01:55:39):
next name anybody from week one kind of catch your
eye that you want to jump on that badwagon or
against them?

Speaker 5 (01:55:45):
Well, and it's a good question, like, well, it's interesting.
I try. It's a fine line, right, I don't want
to overreact, right, So like when you don't want to underreact,
kind of like what you're saying. Because you underreact, you
also can be like just as much missing it if
you're like, oh, you know, but here teams to me.
Of the teams that looked the worst week, well, I
thought the Bengals probably arguably looked the worst than any team,

(01:56:05):
Yet they somehow want a miracle of all miracle games.
But I'm going to give them a little bit of
grace and that their office has been good for so
many years in a row, and Joe Burr has been
good for so many years in a row. I'm just
going to treat that more as a one off personally.
But now teams like Carolina, who I'll be honest, I
think Carolina before the year under seven and a half wins,

(01:56:26):
and I didn't understand, Like, why is this team getting
so much respect? I'm like, yeah, he wasn't the worst
player in the league the last four weeks. Now he's good.
I'm like, I, where's the team to be good? That's
the team that I thought looked scary bad. Also, I
think they have a chance to potentially be the worst
team in the league potentially, and that's the team.

Speaker 4 (01:56:46):
Well, don't forget Miami. Miami could be the worst team too.

Speaker 5 (01:56:49):
Yeah, well Miami, but Miami. I again, Miami was a
team that, again the team I didn't think was going
to be good, and they obviously didn't look good. I mean,
you know, it's funny for me actually after Week one
and I bet them in week two green Bay one
had a chance to be the best team in the
you know, the NFC, and watching how they absolutely destroyed Detroit,

(01:57:13):
I'm like, you know what, I really liked them against
Washington and they got there. And that's a team that
I really upgraded just based off their Week one performance.

Speaker 2 (01:57:20):
I like, you know, I love that division. Division is awesome.

Speaker 5 (01:57:24):
Vision. If I bet this is that, I love it's
gonna cast. But I got eight to one odds. I
bet Minnesota before the year, Minnesota, Green Bay and Detroit
to make the playoffs. It was like plus eight fifty
or something like that. There was a small bet, But
I like that.

Speaker 3 (01:57:39):
I like that because listen, I like Minnesota. I think
Minnesota is a good team. You know, jj JJ reminds
me like he's going to be again. It's one game,
so you know, I don't want to go all Onnie
on you, but I think I think he's got that
kind of ball, their mentality, like he saw it at Michigan.

(01:58:03):
He wins a tight sixty three and three, I think
was his record since high school.

Speaker 2 (01:58:07):
It was crazy. So yeah, and I love their defense
and they got weapons.

Speaker 5 (01:58:13):
Yeah, they do again. And here's my take on Minnesota
what I think is going to be with them personally,
I think you're going to see a team that weeks
nine through seventeen is especially on the offense side of
the ball, is going to be a different version of
what we see weeks one through eight. We saw before
with O'Connell when guys like Nick Mullins were thrown for

(01:58:36):
five hundred yards and they was just like, you know,
the wild, wild West. I don't think we're going to
see that at all. Starting with JAJ. I think they're
going to play it kind of safe to the rest,
too close to the best. Let's try to win games
with their defense, but their offensive line with our skill players,
and I think eventually as he gets his deep wet,
so to speak, a little bit more, we'll see him

(01:58:58):
open up more in the second half. I think we're
going to more conservative Minnesota the first half, but I
think hold in the last second half of the year,
it's gonna be a dangerous team because I do think
JJ is going to be good, and I think this
team actually has talent and depth, so I'm definitely bullshrom
Minnesota for the year.

Speaker 2 (01:59:17):
Would like to rebatch.

Speaker 4 (01:59:18):
Yeah, I wasna ask you that.

Speaker 5 (01:59:20):
You know, It's an interesting, tough, tough game for me. Again,
the lines basically switched from Eagles one and a half
point dog because of how bad Kansas City looked to
Eagles are now slight favorite one one and a half
passing on the on the side. To me, if it's
one and a half, my favorite way to bet the
game would be the Chiefs and Teasers lean under as well.

(01:59:42):
I think we you know, we saw that Kanp City's
offense again, it really may be especially if there's nose,
if you're worthy, it really could be very thin. I
mean very thin.

Speaker 3 (01:59:54):
And I know and Eagles we got like fifteen seconds
you want to throw like a couple like plays you love?

Speaker 5 (02:00:01):
Yeah, okay, I apologize guys real quick. I like Indianapolis
under forty three forty three and a half. That's one
of my favorite gests of the week. I think that's
gonna be very that's going to do it.

Speaker 2 (02:00:12):
Guys. Thank you? What by too fast? We love you guys.
