Speaker 1 (00:01):
Listen Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
What's up, Everybody, Happy Sunday, Thanks for tuning in to
hang out with Carrie Rhodes and I. Scottie Scheffler wins
the open VJ. Vernon Husky learns about the Savannah Bananas
just twenty minutes ago. And you like my WNBA. Yeah,
I'm filling it all Star Jam shirt.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
I'll fill in the WNBA JAM sure to take me
back to it takes me back to my childhood.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
It's really cool. Get to see both of them on
the same shirt in harmony. It's beautiful.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
It is.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
This is from the last year when they were on
the All Star team together, because it's the only time.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
That Caitlin Clark and Angel reesed.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
That is what is on my shirt WNBA JAM, both
of the ladies.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
And you know, just like the video game.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
The fact the fact that they got the three point
of solo fans of Reese is so funny, so funny, exact.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
It it's accurate.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
But this is from last year, Carrie, since they were
actually teammates on the All Star Game last year, not
this year. And we'll talk a little bit about the
w NBA later on the show. We've got a full
show for you today, as we always do, trying to
figure out how we're gonna talk about it all. But
I promise you we will make it work, even if
it means we have to rush through easy as one, two, three, four, which.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
We try to not do and we'll try to not
do that again. But thanks for tuning in, everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
You can follow Carrie on ex Twitter at Carrie twenty
five Roads. You can follow him on Instagram though at
Carrie Rhoads. I'm across social media. I'm Monty Belanos and
let's have some fun. I mean, Scotty Scheffler wins the
Open today, Carrie, Ye, good for him, his first Open ever.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Did you see this number?

Speaker 2 (01:34):
Numbers creep me out sometimes, like things that happen and
you're just like, this isn't.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Just a coincidence.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
This is the I don't know golf, called's golf God's
coming in. So days between Tiger Wood's first and fourth
major win, we're one and ninety seven, okay, days between
Scotty Scheffler's first and fourth major win, which was today,
one and ninety seven.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
Tell me that is not the creepiest thing I've told
you so far.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
For today, I mean so far today, yes we got
we got time, we got time.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
But yes, a lot of times you there's reincarnates right
in sports world, like lore right. I mean, I think
it happens more frequently than we think. But now we're
in the era of actual statistics and numbers really being
on the forefront of what sports is. I'm not surprised,
but it is creepy to start.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
It's creepy, right because you can't force that. You can
make that up and hope that he does it on
his fourth champion fourth major championship, being the Open, just
so many things have to align themselves. It's just like creepy.
But congratulations to Scotti Scheffler winning the Open today. Seventeen
under par overall really took over after what the second day.
He kind of just got in cruise control and you

(02:48):
didn't expect anyone else to win it going into the
final round.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
To date, Scotti Scheffler world number one.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
It seems like it's a perfect life, right, you're world
number one, you're a dad, you've got a family. You win,
But it's not about winning all the time, Carrie. Earlier
this week, Scottie Scheffler had some things to say as

(03:15):
he prepared for the Open Championship, and let's hear what
you had to say.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
It feels like you work your whole life to celebrate
winning a tournament for like a few minutes and only
lasts a few minutes. That kind of euphoric feeling like
to win the Byern Nelson Championship at home, I literally
worked my entire life to become good at golf to
have an opportunity to win that tournament. And you win it,
you celebrate, get to hug my family, my sister's there.
It's such an amazing moment, and then it's like, Okay,

(03:42):
now what are we gonna eat for dinner? You know,
life goes on. This is it great to be able
to win tournaments and to accomplish the things I have
in the game of golf. Yet I mean it brings
tears to my eyes to think about because it's literally
worked my entire life to become good at the sport
and to have that kind of sense of accomplishment, I
think is a pretty cool feeling. You know, to get
to live out your dreams, it's very special. But at
the end of the day, it's like, I'm not out

(04:04):
here to inspire the next generation of golfers.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
I don't.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
I'm not here to inspire somebody else to be the
best player in the world, because what's the point. You know,
this is not a fulfilling life. It's it's fulfilling from
the sense of accomplishment, but it's not fulfilling from a
sense of like the deepest places of your heart.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
So much is said by world number one golfer Scottie Scheffler,
and I want to get your perspective, obviously, because you
have played at the highest of the high when it
comes to being an athlete. And I think what he
said was incredibly brave because for him to say that,
most people are going to be, like, what are you
talking about. You have a wonderful life, you have money,

(04:42):
you are this, you are that. But I don't understand
what it's like to be number one in anything like that.
But I will tell you I sit here and I
sometimes think about, like I love my job, and I
love hanging out with you and getting to talk sports,
like I mean, you guys we have great jobs, like
I'm not to not, but I do think about, like

(05:02):
what I want to do, Carrie is win the lotteries
so I can quit and open an animal shelter and
take care of dogs and cats or fear it, whatever
you want to bring me like that is what I think.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Would fulfill my life. But I can't do that because
I don't have that money.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
And in order to do anything like that, you got
to have money, right, So I keep working and hopefully
one day I'll have the Monsiblano's animal shelter, you know,
hopefully that's the goal.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
But I really understand what he is saying.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
I just think it's.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Brave for him to say it out loud right now.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
I think it's the best thing that we've heard in
a long time. I do struggling with enjoined winning. I
understand completely. We live. We live in a world and
in the sports world where it's solely based off what
have you done for me lately? M hm, And so
the instant gratification that comes, he said it when you win,
there is a high, of course, but society says, and

(05:59):
your teammates saying, organization says, we're on to week, to
the next week, and the next week is preparing for
the next tournament, the next game, the next whatever it is.
So I can understand where he's coming from with that
being cut short. And I think as athletes, we have
that sense of we have to win at all costs
in that tournament, in that game, and I think that's ingrained.

(06:21):
I think that's ingrained in him. Obviously he's the best
in the world. So in that tournament, we're doing everything
we can to win, and then you have to rinse
and repeat and do that again, and so it becomes tiresome.
It becomes to the point where it becomes heavy. And
not to say that that shouldn't come with the person
that's played sports. It should, that's what you're signed up for.

(06:42):
But the fact that somebody is able to speak about
that and articulated in the way that you know, he
didn't rush through it. He said all the things he
wanted to say. So you can't take it for you
can't take anything he said out of context. So I
appreciated that part of it as well, and also the
media as well for allowing him that space to fully
flush out that answer. It was a great it was
a great SoundBite. The atmosphere, the atmosphere around sports is

(07:03):
all about winning at all costs, which I said, but
when you make individual decisions based off solely winning in
sports and in life, the two aren't the same. It's
not a concurrent like, it's not concurrent events that happens
that kind of You can live solely based off this
if you're in life trying to win at all costs.
I don't want to be around that person. That person

(07:25):
would do anything it takes to get ahead, whatever it
takes to be the guy, the guy or the woman
that's leading the charge, which I don't agree with, and
I'm sure he doesn't as well. He has a family,
has a life, he has other things outside of sports
that you can be fulfilled that outside of it. And
so as far as that quote goes, I love it.
I think it's a great example. And you don't have

(07:46):
to lead by saying things mm hmm. You can lead
by the way you live your life and lead your
life and the way you set the example, not even
trying to them. And that's and that's the beautiful thing.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
I like that you said it's the best SoundBite we've
heard in a while, right because it was real, it
was honest, and it came from a person who you
probably would say even though you feel like that you
shouldn't be saying that, you know he was criticized for
that by a lot of people, right scoffing you you're
not fulfilled, like, but in reality, he's being so honest

(08:19):
because it is lonely at the top, Shay, would you
like to jump in?

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Do you feel lonely at the top?

Speaker 6 (08:25):
I wasn't necessarily gonna say that, but I wanted to
more ask from like your perspective, like, because obviously you
didn't always think about that, right, Like you didn't always
think like, hey, like I'm not always I'm not gonna
feel fulfilled from this, or like this is gonna be
something that will make me feel happy in the end,
or like this isn't something that oh, hey, like this
is it? Because obviously as a high school you're like, oh,
the minute I get into the NFL and I get

(08:45):
that bag, I get.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
The Hawk girls or whatever, like whatever you wanted, you'll
feel fulfilled.

Speaker 6 (08:49):
So it's like, when did that moment hit you, like
as an athlete at least to where like because I
always wondered with Scotty, like when did this happen? Like
was it his first major where he was like I
don't like I don't even care about this, you know,
I mean because it almost sounds like you're saying that,
and I want to see if there's a moment as
an athlete where you're like.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
What can I follow up with that to join with
the house? Do you think it's different for him?

Speaker 3 (09:09):
We're all like Carrie tell us, do you it's.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Different for him because he's playing a solo sport exactly?
Do you know? It is a great point, right, because
it's like, you can you can have those moments with
your team. Remember when we did that game? And so
he's like, you, guys, remember when I did this when
I won?

Speaker 3 (09:28):
It comes off a little can come off a little bit.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
You know, you guys are right, I mean, Monsay's a
great point, great question, Shade, there is a moment, right,
But so hard in team sports to have that individual idea,
ideology right because if you do, then you're not moving
the same way as a team a group, which is
hard to do. As a golfer being a solo sport,

(09:52):
it is I you have people you work with, obviously,
you have coaches, you have teammates sometimes, but it's doing
that deal right, So it's lonely, But there is there
is a time even when I was playing, I could Yes,
you've achieved things. I've achieved things I've had status, I've
had money, all those things that our goals as a kid, right,

(10:13):
Like you want to do those things, but when you
realize that that stuff isn't it's not feeding your soul.
Like whatever feeds your soul, you lean into that. And
I think Scotty's doing a good job of that, like
actually saying like I got other things that feed me
mm hmm.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
And I understand what she is saying too, is it's
like when did he realize this or is he realizing
this right now in real time?

Speaker 7 (10:37):
Chris, Yeah, it's funny because we were talking about this
before because it reminded me immediately, and I know he
hasn't said it quite like this, but of Nikola Jokic
kind of the same thing where he's like, I just
want to go, you know, hang out with my horses.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
I think you're onto something.

Speaker 7 (10:51):
Mansion that there is now in this generation more than ever,
like a dividing line between like what you know you
are good at and makes you money ver versus what
you really feel like is driving you day to day.
Because there's a lot of people where that's just not
the case anymore. Like you have a goal, you have
a dream or something, or maybe you don't. Maybe it's
just like the whole rat race just isn't for you.

(11:13):
But I know he's going to get slaughtered for this
quote because in specifically, specifically, in our business in sports media,
there is only one archetype, and that is the Michael
Jordan archetype. You have to be the alpha compiller, the
guy who wants to win it all costs, and Scotty's
out here doing the exact opposite.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
And guys, wait a minute, so listen to this though.
So we've seen individuals make decisions based off of you know,
I want to win, and you end up being Kevin Durant, right,
you end up being somebody that they talk about chasing
these things that we're talking about winning and championships, and
that defines your legacy. But now you're allowing people to

(11:53):
write that for you. When you say stuff like this
and you're in the forefront and have this opinion or
this not even opinion, having this fact or thought that
comes from you the source, then people going around with
it anyway. But at least you're able to live with
yourself and know that the decisions you make abeyed solely
of how you feel and no one else. And I
just think his.

Speaker 7 (12:10):
Quote resonates with more people than I think people in
the media will give him credit for.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Yes, I agree.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
I think he opened a door for people who are
successful to feel free to say that, to actually not
be afraid he's going to He's probably being dragged as
we speak, by people, especially after winning the Open Championship today,
where it's like, what are you talking about? And maybe
this is something he's realizing in lifetime right now where
it's like, this is not as fulfilling as I thought

(12:38):
as it would be as a child. And I really
I just give him credit for saying it out loud.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
I agree.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Nakola Yokich a very similar type of response when he
tells you he just wants to go be with his horses.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
But he didn't straight up say this is not fulfilling me.
He didn't say that.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
They say it like that that way, but you could
feel it, Yeah, you.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Could feel it.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
And like, I was just surprised to hear somebody of
his level just stay it.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Out loud like that, And he's going to allow for
other people to speak that because other people feel that
way exactly and so the fact that the guy that's
number one in the world can say that and still
go out and win, that's that's a big deal.

Speaker 6 (13:17):
I wanted to go back to because individual sports and
the team sports. Obviously, individual sports you'll feel a little
bit more fulfilled than team sports because I don't know,
like last night, were you guys UFC fans, So last
night Dusin Poyer he's been in the UFC since two
thousand and nine. Yeah, he retired last night. And you
can see basically the highlight video everything they're doing, the
whole thing for him, the goodbyes, the cries. He fought

(13:38):
in everything, and it's an individual sport. All you got
is your coach and your your the ice sky and
that's it.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yeah, you know what I mean. It's really lonely.

Speaker 6 (13:46):
Yeah, and I could see that he seemed fulfilled, like
he had the smile on his face, like he was like,
oh my god, Like this is so when it seems
like like when that compared to ufceen golf, like obviously
they're completely different ones you're fighting someone another one you're
hitting a little ball with a stick, but like in
terms of the individuality, it's just you. The fulfillment of
I beat that guy, I won that whole I won

(14:07):
that masters. It was me and my coaches like I
did that. Yeah, that's what makes me a little weird
because I understand when you say I don't feel it's
fulfilled because it's a team effort. There's a lot more
things like obviously there's not many individual awards or anything,
but when you have this individuality, I feel like you
should be able to say I did this, but it's not.
But it's more of like a I don't feel filter

(14:30):
from it. But that doesn't make sense climb on.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
The mountain alone and suddenly realizing you're at the vista.
But it just didn't matter.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
It's interest did not feel the way maybe he thought
it was gonna.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
Feel, and I think I think it's going I think
it's a little bit I think a little bit out
of context too. He is fulfilled.

Speaker 3 (14:46):
By it's fulfilled, correct.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
It doesn't linger or go on past.

Speaker 7 (14:52):
That moment he said God to prepare dinner. It's it's Yeah.
There was a story I kind of like this where
it's just like you know, you you go through all
these tragic things in your day. Kind of in the
opposite way, it's like you've got all these things that
happen to you in a tragic day, but it's the
same it it's like, yeah, you got to keep it's
the same thing from the other your head. It's not
even keeping your head up. It's like I still got
to go make dinner. It's that line. It's that line.

(15:14):
You just it's it doesn't matter what you've accomplished, you
still have all these normal things that are right in
front of you.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
Instead, it's just crazy.

Speaker 6 (15:22):
I always wanted to be an athlete, So it's like, yeah,
and also if you are.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
An athlete out there and you are fulfilled, there's nothing
wrong with that.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Be as fulfilled as you can't I think Scott Scheffler
is just like, it's not what I thought it would be,
and I just I a breath of fresh air.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
Like you said really quickly.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
Before before we get out of here, say, if you
were to fulfill what you wanted to fulfill right now,
whatever that thing gets, do you think you're going to
like linger on that forever and that that one achievement
or it is there's something else you want to achieve?
My No, okay, yeah, so obviously there's there.

Speaker 6 (15:59):
You're not gonna want to do the same thing over
and over again, and once you're in it, you're like, oh,
I have more goals in life and there's more things
because like obviously.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
We're all doubt as you think it's to ba. Yeah,
we're all workers.

Speaker 6 (16:08):
We all want more in life, and like we're not
content in anything we do, like we want a weekday show,
like we want to do all this stuff.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
So it's like obviously yeah, but.

Speaker 6 (16:16):
It seems like like when you're when you're that young
kid and you're like, oh, this is like all I
can think about and you finally get it.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
I feel like that should fulfill you.

Speaker 6 (16:22):
And in terms of like I did this in my life,
and like when you're eighty years old and I'm talking
to my grandkids, I'd be.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
Like, oh, like, oh, I just think this is more
than sports.

Speaker 7 (16:30):
Like I know some guys who are extremely successful in
their business in like you know, I've got friends in
Texas who sell golf clubs or have great landscaping businesses
or whatever. But like at the end of the day,
you're like, I just want to go crack open a
beer and watch the sunset or like hang out with
the boys or something. This isn't This isn't doing anything
for me, And I think Scheffler's kind of speaking to

(16:51):
something now. It's it's galling because it is sports at
its highest level, but it's still the same vein there.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Last thoughts carry before we wrap this up.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
I think the last thought is be whoever you want
to be. Yeah, like, if you feel fulfilled and that's
your peak and you want to linger on that peak,
do it. But also don't be don't chest tie somebody
that feels differently, And I think that would be my
number one thing.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Just go be fulfilled whatever, whatever fulfills you, and it
just might not be what you thought.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
I wonder if.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
Marcus Smart feels fulfilled, I don't know, to the Lakers,
why don't we ask our NBA insider Mark Stein On
the other side of this, don't go anywhere he's carry
I'm Moncey and this is Fox Sports Radio.

Radio with all pro safety, Carry Rhoads and myself Monty
Bilanos hanging out with you.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
Scotti Scheffler wins the open, the.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Yankees win their game.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Ow.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
I remember last week we talked about I brought up
how Anthony Volpi.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
Maybe his leash needed.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
To be tightened. You you did not necessarily agree, and
then he hit two homers, like you know, so I
literally thought of you. I was like, we talked about this. Anyway,
we have our NBA insider Mark Stein here with us. Mark,
how are you? How is your Sunday going, guys?

Speaker 9 (18:52):
I'm good? How are you guys?

Speaker 1 (18:54):
I hope you guys are good doing well? Mark?

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Just chilling on this Sunday where Scotti chef wins the open.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
But we'll dive into the NBA with you.

Speaker 10 (19:03):
Mark.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
I'm sure you've answered this question all week with every
single person that you've spoken to. But I gotta ask you,
as a Clippers fan, what do you make of this
Bradley Beal joining the Clippers. I did not think the
Clippers needed.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
To make this move.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
I understand the price tag was very friendly, and I
understand that it's to replenish the scoring that maybe we
lost with Norman Powell. But we're acting like John Collins
can't score and he can't score. So I just have
mixed feelings, as I told Carrie when he asked me

(19:42):
earlier in the week, and I sent a gift back
of like, eh, I don't know if we needed this.
What do you make of the move for the Clippers?

Speaker 9 (19:50):
But what's the downside? I don't I mean, I don't
see a downside here to.

Speaker 11 (19:54):
Be able to get Bradley Beal, a highly motivated Bradley
Bealt fi million, and you still have leftover roster space
and were leftover financial flexibility to sign Chris Paul if
you want to do that. I think the Clippers are
still weighing it, but obviously Lawrence Frank just came out
and said they are strongly, strongly interested. There's no downside.

(20:16):
I mean, John Collins is a I agree with you.

Speaker 9 (20:19):
To get John Collins on the last year of his deal.

Speaker 11 (20:21):
They made the decision that they weren't going to give
Norman Powell a contract extension. So to bring in John
Collins on an expiring deal and you don't lose Norman
Powell for nothing. You get a very good player in
that trade. But to me to bring in Bradley deal
at this price point when he has.

Speaker 9 (20:38):
A lot to prove. As a Clippers fan, I don't
know why you wouldn't like it.

Speaker 3 (20:44):
You know, it's not that I it's not that I
don't like it.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
I just witnessed a Clippers team that seemed to not
figure out once Kawhi Leonard and everybody was fully healthy,
who was the number one, number two, number three, at
number four and they struggled with that. I'm wondering what
Bradley Beal is going to come into. He does have
a lot to prove, but we I also don't know
what he's capable of since we haven't seen him in
action as much in Phoenix because.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Of his situation.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
So it's like, are you coming in with the expectation
that you're going to be the number two score for us?
Because I don't even I don't think he should be.
For a second, I was like, is he coming off
the bench? I'd love that, but I don't think he
is coming off the bench. I just it's like sometimes
you put too much together and it doesn't necessarily mean
it's gonna work.

Speaker 9 (21:26):
Yeah, I'm not gonna be able to even though we're
even though you went to my school, which I love.
I love that, even though we're.

Speaker 11 (21:33):
Fellow Titans, you're not going to get a You're not
getting a co sign for me on it. Because I
gotta say the Clippers. A year ago, the Clippers let
Paul George go, and everybody thought they were crazy because
they got no they got nothing back for him and
they were not CRCT. And I have to say and
a year ago also at this time, all of us
know it all we're saying the Sixers won in the

(21:55):
summer they signed Paul George, the only All Star to
switch teams. You have to say that these Lap two
summers and the Clippers are just they're trying to stay
competitive while maintaining their flexibility for the summer of twenty seven.
But they might actually have it in the summer of
twenty six. So I mean they're really, I think the

(22:17):
way they've managed the cap and their roster these lap
two summers has won a lot of admirers around the
league because they're keeping their team competitive and they've been
able to bring in a slew of good contributors. And
I think we just saw with Indiana. In today's NBA,

(22:40):
you really can only afford two max guys. Now, there
are some teams out there that are like Orlando, which
has always been very conservative. Now Orlando's going to have
three players in the forty millions plus Jalen Suggs in
the thirty millions, and you know, we'll have to see
if that works for them. But more often than not,
you're seeing team say we're gonna we're gonna spend big

(23:02):
on two players and we're just gonna go for depths
around them. And that's what the Clippers are doing here.
And so you know, they've brought in so many good
role players over the last two off seasons that you
know they're gonna be a very They will still be
a very good team in the West this coming season.
And really their big moves are down the road. It's

(23:24):
how they're gonna when they finally get all this cap
space what are they going to do with it? So
I would say, as a Clippers fan, you should be
feeling pretty good about your July.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
Well, Mark, I didn't go to you alma mater, so
bear with me here. Let's stay out west though. I mean,
the Lakers obviously made a big move by bringing in
Marcus Smart. I think there's been some mixed mixed reviews
on what the importance of that deal will be. Me personally,
I think it's a great upgrade for them. They needed
a defensive guy, and it also kind of signals that

(23:55):
the Lakers are moving with the Luka Doncics era of
you know that he wants to play with and be around.
There were reports that Luca reached out to Marcus Smart
personally and invited him to come out and be a
part of the team. So let's speak about the twenty
twenty two Depensive Player of the Year and Marcus Smart
and what he can add to the Lakers.

Speaker 11 (24:15):
Well, first, I got to ask because I'm ashamed I
don't know this, So please don't hold this agect, but
remind me of your college years, Carrie.

Speaker 9 (24:22):
What were your college years?

Speaker 1 (24:23):
My college years was two thousand to two thousand and four.
And you know, the fighting Cardinals. I don't know if
that's a real thing.

Speaker 11 (24:29):
So from two thousand to two thousand and four, I
can't hold that against you because we would not have
been able to help you get to the NFL, so we.

Speaker 9 (24:38):
Didn't have a team, so we don't have to worry
about that.

Speaker 11 (24:40):
Look, the Lakers, I would say the same thing, and
with a lot less flexibility than the Clippers had. I mean,
the Lakers have made it clear they only want to
do short term deals.

Speaker 9 (24:52):
You know. I think if we would have.

Speaker 11 (24:53):
Been having this conversation on June twenty ninth and could
tell Laker fans you're going to get beyond Jake Laavia
and Marcus Smart to fill your needs for a center,
a shooter, and an on ball defender, I would think
Laker fans would have been pretty happy to know that
it took until, you know, July nineteenth, but again to

(25:15):
get all of these guys on two year deals. Not
mess with your flexibility, and yeah, I mean maybe the
most encouraging part is just how involved Luka Doncic has
been in all this. I mean, Luka Doncic has been
operating this summer as a recruiter.

Speaker 9 (25:32):
And you know, he you know, this is what he's
going into his man is this year eight, this year eight.

Speaker 12 (25:39):
For him, Mark, I think it is year eight somehow,
and so like again, it just shows he's you know,
this is his team and he's taking a very significant
role in trying you know, again the Lakers.

Speaker 11 (25:58):
The Lakers came to meet their off season objectives.

Speaker 9 (26:03):
They didn't have money to spend.

Speaker 11 (26:04):
They had they had, you know, very defined windows of
what they could offer free agents, and you know, I
think they pretty much nailed their their top.

Speaker 9 (26:14):
Choice in every category. So I mean, I you know,
I think they have to be feeling I think.

Speaker 11 (26:19):
Both LA teams have to be feeling really good about
how their summers went.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
One more from us Mark. We are listening to Uh,
you're listening to Fox Sports Radio. We're talking to our
NBA insider Mark Stein. With the story that came out
of Joel and bed that long story on ESPN. Is
there a toxic relationship where maybe Joel Ebid does get
traded this off season following that story.

Speaker 11 (26:47):
No, there's no way, there's no way he's getting traded because,
you know, given the kind of health, you know, all
the injury issues he had last season.

Speaker 9 (26:57):
I mean it would you know, he's got a massive.

Speaker 11 (26:58):
Contract, and you know there there would there would be
no trade market. But to make it clear, the Sixers
aren't looking for one. I mean, the Sixers basically made
the decision that Joel Embiid, Paul George, Tyrese Maxey, they
played in fifteen games together last season.

Speaker 13 (27:16):
You know that's not.

Speaker 11 (27:17):
Nearly enough to you know, that was not a real
crack at trying to win a championship together as a trio.

Speaker 9 (27:25):
So the Sixers made the decision that.

Speaker 11 (27:27):
They wanted to give these guys another shot at it.
And look, it does all depend on how much you
have em.

Speaker 9 (27:34):
Beid on the floor.

Speaker 11 (27:35):
And nobody can tell you today as we you know,
dribbled toward.

Speaker 9 (27:38):
The end of July, like nobody can tell you is in.

Speaker 11 (27:41):
Being going to be able to play fifty games, sixty games,
like no one can.

Speaker 9 (27:44):
Tell you right now.

Speaker 11 (27:46):
And Paul George just had another knee procedure. So I mean,
I'm not saying it looks great. But the Sixers went
into the draft saying, okay, we got the third pick.
You know, they had great lottery luck. So on one hand,
they are giving their trio their veteran trio another chance.

Speaker 9 (28:04):
But they've also now got VJ. Edgecomb and they're getting McCain.

Speaker 11 (28:08):
Back from injury after he lost so much of his
time as a rookie, and those guys are more on
the Maxie timeline. So I mean they have to try
to you know, they have to try to get em
beat and Paul George on the floor. I mean, that
is priority number one, and that's not going to be
easy given the injuries that these guys have dealt with.

Speaker 9 (28:28):
But I mean it was a tremendous story, a must
read story. I mean there's tons in there, and there
was a lot.

Speaker 11 (28:36):
Yeah, I mean, you know, the Sixers obviously last season
was a very, very very rocky season.

Speaker 9 (28:43):
I mean, there's no way around it. But you know,
training camp starts at the end of September.

Speaker 11 (28:48):
We're still two months away from these guys getting back together,
and you know, let's see what they can do with
another shot at it, especially with.

Speaker 14 (28:57):
The open East right and open it could be good.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Yes, Mark, thank you so much for joining us on
this Sunday. Enjoy the rest of your day. We appreciate you,
and we'll talk to you soon.

Speaker 9 (29:08):
All right, Mark, that's good. Guys, take care auction.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
Thanks Mark. You can vollow Mark Stein on ex Twitter
at the Stein line.

Speaker 3 (29:17):
Am I crazy for my thoughts on Bradley Beal? He
made me feel crazy?

Speaker 2 (29:21):
I mean, do you get what I'm saying of like,
sometimes having too much is not going to be necessarily good.
I get it's good if injuries arise, right, and then
we have all these players that can step in.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
But yeah, I mean, yes, we've seen it. But I
think at this stage in his career, I don't think
Bradley Bill is delusional in what and what he can do.
So I would think that for him, he would want
to come out and do all the things that he
needs to do to help that team win. So I
think it's I think Mark's right with that. That's why
I was surprised by your your your your reply. But yeah,

(29:54):
I mean I'm not expecting him to be a twenty
point score, so it's not so it's and that's what
the wholy like.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
Everyone was like, oh, it's to make up for the
points you're losing from Norman Poun And I was like,
but Collins, can you're all acting like he's gonna give
you six points.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
This is a different it is a different team, you know,
and so I don't know.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
And again, not that I'm mad, not that I'm just like,
you know, I don't know. Well, let's check in with
our anchor, Slash technical producer.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Slash Slash awesome.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
Guy, Slplash Awesome guys. Slash has a cat named Ruby.
That's not a girl.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
Slash he got that name when I thought it was
still a girl.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
Listen, I'm just telling the listeners.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
I'm just yourt I love I love that. I love
that sack.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
Chris, what's going on?

Speaker 3 (30:38):
I think somebody hit a home run for the Dodgers.

Speaker 15 (30:40):
Am I right?

Speaker 1 (30:40):
I must have just missed it.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
I think it was.

Speaker 7 (30:44):
I looked it up real quick. But we do have
to start in the NFL. We got two pieces of
news from the NFL, and that's always great. First off,
let's get the easy one out of the way. Defensive
lineman George Carloftis has agreed to a three year, ninety
three million dollar extension with the Kansas City Chiefs. Gives
us some more time there with the reigning AFC champion.
The other bit of news is a resignation from the

(31:06):
as fallout continues from the NFLPA j C Tretder is resigning.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
He has stepped down.

Speaker 7 (31:12):
He earlier stepped down from the Players Association president role
last year, but remained with the PA as a chief
strategy officer. But and he's been a candidate to be
the executive director to replace Lloyd Howell Junior. And what
happened with Lloyd Howell Junior, Well, we had that whole
thing with a confidentiality agreement over collusion that Lloyd Howell
was at the center of. And then to make matters worse,

(31:33):
it was came out that Lloyd Howell Junior was billing
hours at a strip club to the PA. J C.
Tretder has now fallen in his steps and fallout continues there.
I'm not sure if that's the last domino to fall.
And yes, we do have a baseball scoreboard here. First off,
Aaron Judge has tied Alex Rodriguez on the Yankees all

(31:53):
time home run list with his three hundred and fifty. First, wow,
do I have that right already? You got it right away, already,
already all already came in just his first one.

Speaker 1 (32:07):
Justice A. Wader was retiring.

Speaker 7 (32:08):
So yeah, anyway, Dodgers are leading the Brewers four to three.
Right now Dodger's still looking is this? They're still looking
for their first win over the Brewers.

Speaker 2 (32:18):
Thank you pass on correct?

Speaker 13 (32:20):
Yes?

Speaker 7 (32:21):
Uh huh. Angels defeat the Phillies eight to two. White
Sox top the Pirates seven to two. Mentioned the Yankees
earlier four too over the Braves and earlier Scotti. Scheffler
wins the Open Championship for the Royal Port. Rush didn't
hit above par on round three, kept the lead through
all the final round. This is his first win at
the Open, his fourth major win, and now all that

(32:42):
remains on his leg to a Grand Slam is the
United States Open. Monsey and Kerry back to you guys.

Speaker 2 (32:49):

Speaker 3 (33:41):
I am Monty Bilanos. He is all pro safety.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
Carrie Rose hanging out with you watching the Savannah bananas.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
You are not me. I'm turned the other way.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
Yeah you are, well, you're not even looking, but uh yes,
the Savanna bananas are on. I'm gonna go see the
Savannah bananas. I got in September in San Diego.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
It just happened.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
I got lucky and one of my coworkers from the
Dodgers put her name in a raffle to be selected
to be able to buy tickets. They're very big. My
understanding is on not reselling and not reselling for more money, Like,
if you have the tickets, it's hard for my understanding
for you to resell them. But she went into this
raffle and she I just happened to be, you know,

(34:22):
right place at the right time where she was like,
if I could get tickets, do you want some? And
I said, does a bear you know what in the woods? Yes?
I do, and so you like that?

Speaker 3 (34:31):
Okay, and then she was.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
Like okay, let you know and she got four.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
She gave me two forty bucks face value.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Like I was like, of course, And I don't think
this is the thing where it's like I'm gonna go
do it again. It's kind of like a check it
off the bucket list. I never saw the Harlem Globetrotters.
I never saw them aside from videos but in person.
So I just want to go see and then check
it off the list.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
You know, I don't need to always go see them,
but I'm excited. I'm excited.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Well, you have an extra ticket. I don't want to go.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Thank you for that.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
I want you to like take.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
It, don't ask you. You're we're going to be fourth
on my list?

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Sure, no, I'm sure. I'm sure. I was down a
little bit.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
Yeah, is three?

Speaker 1 (35:09):
Skip me? Skip you go to five. I just got
down at three.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Sean. Of course, Grace, you you're.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
Rare that number. Of course, Grace is number two.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
I just want to be there, apparently.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
After Carrie now coming in coming in all right, Well, Carrie,
I don't know if you heard the Summer League Fellas
NBA Summer League Fellas this past week. It's just they
have spoken.

Speaker 10 (35:40):
What year do you have to be born in to
be considered an unk?

Speaker 1 (35:43):
Andything? Below two thousand six? You off your people are
sure nineteen ninety five? Yeah, yeah, for sure if he
was born in the nineties.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
Now, I was born to three.

Speaker 1 (35:53):
They calling me these youngs, they don't got no manners man.

Speaker 6 (35:56):
You better be at least like forty nineteen eighty five
something like that.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
That's crazy. Caorie's uncle, Drew. That's what I will say. Oh, okay.
The lowest when I heard was nineteen eighty five, so
I am a grandpa.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
But most of them were like nineties.

Speaker 7 (36:12):
No old I made when I first heard this.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
Shay, shut up, I'm the only safe one.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
Go away, go take a lap and think about what
you're saying right now.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
Goodness, I thought an unk was Okay, Lebron, fine, Lebron
is your unk?

Speaker 1 (36:30):
Yeah right not Devin Booker. Oh and I gave you
just a piece of.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Their clip and these are this is Cooper Flag, This
is Ace Bailey.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
This is all of the guys that just got drafted.
By the way. You can see this full video.

Speaker 2 (36:44):
It's on bleacher Report and it came out earlier this week.
Asking about unk, what is the definition of unk? Right,
it's how would you say it?

Speaker 1 (36:54):
I mean, I don't know, No, I'm confused.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Right, But it's like it's an older male figures your uncle.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
Obviously that's where it comes from us.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
Yes, yes, But when I think, yeah, an uncle, I'm
not thinking of Devin Booker being an uncle.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
I know it's crazy because again they're eighteen nineteen, So
I do understand the ideology behind it. Right, It's like, yeah,
when I was younger, that was my uncle's age around
around forty. I just I think it's changed because when
in my era they actually look like unks, like they
look older.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
They that's a good point.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
Now you look at myself where you look at Lebron, like,
we don't look old. So it's like the equation of
the uncle thing. Is this weird?

Speaker 3 (37:39):
To Okay, Lebron's older.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
Old, Lebron looks older than you carry Carrie, you look good.

Speaker 3 (37:43):
I agree, Not that Lebron looks bad. He looks older
than you.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
He like he's the one that it's like, yeah, an
unk him, Chris Paul. Sure, we could say he's an
unk in the NBA, right, yeah, But like others, you're
like what and one of them saying like, I'm twenty
three and people are calling me unk. I'm sorry? What
are we what?

Speaker 3 (38:01):
You guys have to change that.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
We have to change that whole perception that if you
are born.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
I mean, she's just excited.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
Because you're healthy. You guys are looking at senior living.
It's all right, you're you're you're fine until Mary comes
in here. Exactly.

Speaker 2 (38:18):
Mary comes in here, and she's really gonna call you, Shay.
You are one month away from being a nunk.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
I'm good though. Okay, you're right, she's good.

Speaker 13 (38:25):
Though.

Speaker 7 (38:26):
You have woken up more times talking about how much
you feel sore in the morning than I probably have, so.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
You might be right about that. That is it. It's
a real thing.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
After thirty What was the last time I woke up
and something didn't hurt?

Speaker 3 (38:39):
I don't remember.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
I mean, we're talking about injuries and pain. I'm definitely
an unk, so so hold on, you've got the extrage.
I know, I would think so. But now if they're
calling Kyrie, I know it's because of the Uncle Drew movie,
and that.

Speaker 3 (38:53):
Makes that one makes sense.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
That's the only one, you.

Speaker 4 (38:55):
Know what I mean, I get it, But come on, man,
and again, the video is much longer.

Speaker 3 (38:58):
You should go listen to it.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
You're gonna fell maybe you'll feel young because you were
born in two thousand and five, or shut up show
you're gonna feel old, like maybe Carrie and I feel
right now, and Christophervett because I couldn't believe my ears.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
I could not believe my ears.

Speaker 1 (39:18):
Yeah, no, I'm in pain over here now and I'm
just like, I'm really I'm really upset with our youth
and what they're referring to us right now. I mean,
think about this. You're coming stiff your elders right that part.
But you come into the NBA no matter if you're eighteen,
nineteens whatever like back in the day. None of those
guys are calling those guys, oh.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
Absolutely not, because they're gonna get punched. Yeah, you could
get punched the face.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
The disrespect is just out the roof right now.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
I'm telling you, you know, it's what it's like to them.
They're not being disrespectible. It's like an endearing thing. No,
So that's what makes it even funnier because we're offended
and they're like, what are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (39:53):
This is a good thing. We look up to you.
You're like a mentor.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
That's what we call you.

Speaker 3 (39:56):
Unk.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
No, Mary's in here, She's gonna under stay exactly what
we're talking about. Don't go anywhere, because Carrie and I,
this is just our one of three hours. And even
though we feel old about unk status over here Mary
looking at us like we're crazy.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
We've still got a lot more to discuss. On the
other side of this. Another player gets paid again.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
In the NFL. What does that do for his team?
For maybe other teams as we get closer to the
start of the NFL season.

Speaker 3 (40:27):
Don't go anywhere. He's Carrie Almansi. It's Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
What's up, everybody, Happy Sunday? Thanks for tuning in and
hanging now with Carrie Rhodes and I on this Sunday
here at Fox Sports Radio. Scotti Scheffler wins the open.
Aaron Judge. It is thirty sixth homer of the season,
three hundred and fifty first homer right for the Yankees.
They win. Lawyer's out there, you know, Clayton Kershaw was

(40:51):
on the mound and.

Speaker 3 (40:53):
He got pulled early. It's okay, it's all right. Listen,
it's okay, it's okay.

Speaker 2 (40:58):
Just because we can't beat the Brewers, all of us
sudden doesn't mean I'm worried. Carrie.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
You better be worried, don't.

Speaker 3 (41:03):
You don't mean that.

Speaker 1 (41:04):
And here comes Judge, I said earlier in the week. Here, Judge,
he's going to catch cal Rawley for the home run
lead in the AL And I put it on the record.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
You did, you did, you did, and he I think
tied it with him. Right now, cal Rawly has not
hit a home run in the second half just yet.

Speaker 4 (41:20):
I think I think Cayl still still is he still
on top?

Speaker 1 (41:23):
I think he's still I think he had thirty eight right.

Speaker 2 (41:24):
Oh, okay, Cayl, Well, listen, he's getting there. He's getting there.
But we'll move on here to NFL Talk Harry. This week, TJ.
Watt becomes again for the second time in his career,
an extension that makes him the highest paid non quarterback

(41:44):
by average annual value. I mean a lot of money
for TJ. Watt coming at him an extension. I believe
there was one twenty three million extension average of forty
one million per year, surpassing players not Michael Parsons, which
you know, on what is this going to do for
Michael Parsons? But TJ.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Watt where I was surprised a couple of things.

Speaker 2 (42:05):
Not surprised about the signing, because I feel like when
the Steelers signed ianon Rodgers, they also extended TJ.

Speaker 3 (42:13):
Watt right like or even you can say when they extended.

Speaker 2 (42:16):
DK Metcalf in that trade. It was like, no, no, no, TJ.
You're gonna get it done, like it's just a matter
of one. So that's not what I'm surprised about. But
I felt like I saw some Steeler fans commenting. You know,
I like to read comments. It's my favorite pastime, especially
on fans of that team, because that's not my team.

Speaker 3 (42:35):
How do you feel?

Speaker 2 (42:35):
I can tell you about I feel about the Clippers
and Bradley Beal, but how do you feel about this move?

Speaker 1 (42:39):
Right?

Speaker 2 (42:40):
And there was mixed reviews on it soon to be
thirty one years old. Okay, all right, but like he
has delivered for your team, yes, consistently, just because your
team hasn't won a playoff game and I don't know
how long, but TJ. Watt has done his job. I
was just surprised at the mixed reviews from Steeler fans themselves.

(43:00):
Maybe you can enlighten me because in his first eight seasons,
Carrie Watt ranks third with one hundred and eight sacks,
behind only two people.

Speaker 3 (43:08):
Do you know those two? If you take a guess, I.

Speaker 1 (43:10):
Would say Von Miller. No, wait, you said.

Speaker 3 (43:14):
First eight seasons?

Speaker 2 (43:15):
First eight he's third with one hundred and eight sacks,
and there's two above him through through eight seasons.

Speaker 1 (43:22):
Reggie White.

Speaker 2 (43:22):
Yes, that's one of them, and that's great.

Speaker 1 (43:28):
No, No, I would get Reggie White and Lawrence Taylor.

Speaker 3 (43:32):
No, but that is a good guess.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
What's the other one?

Speaker 3 (43:34):
So Marcus Ware's there you go, there you go.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
But yes, those two are the only ones through eight
seasons that are higher than him and what he has
recorded sackwise, So it's like.

Speaker 3 (43:43):
The numbers are there. Is it just the age you think?

Speaker 2 (43:46):
Which is what the Steeler fans are maybe not happy
about the extension. I'm just confused.

Speaker 3 (43:52):
I'm like, this was gonna be done.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
I don't know what they're arguing about it's only a
three year deal too. I mean, so you're getting paid
the market for one of the best play at that position.
Just sit back and enjoy the ride. I mean, everybody
wants to play Monday morning quarterback anyway, and so you
know that's part of, I guess, the excitement and also
part of being a part of the NFL, right, I mean,

(44:14):
people have their opinions, and that's fine, but when you're
paying your best player on your team his market value,
you can't be mad about that.

Speaker 4 (44:21):
You cannot be mad about it.

Speaker 3 (44:22):
And I just like I was expecting this from the beginning.

Speaker 2 (44:26):
I didn't think they would let him go, even if
they didn't get any of the other players. I just
didn't expect the Steelers to let him go. And because
I was expecting this, to me, this doesn't necessarily do
anything for the Steelers in general. Right, Like, we're still
feeling the same way to where you're probably you might
sneak into the playoffs. You're probably gonna stay above five hundred.

(44:46):
Can you win a playoff game? I think is the
ultimate first goal right now? This for the Steelers team, we'll.

Speaker 3 (44:52):
See what happened.

Speaker 2 (44:53):
Yeah, but the real question here is how dumb are
the Cowboys for not extending Michael Parsons.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
Yeah, well, I don't. You know, it's crazy that I
don't think they're dumb, But I know what you mean
from from the dollar standpoint, Yes, they're gonna I know
you're taling about that's they're gonna have to pay him, right.
But the crazy part about it is, I've been on
record saying this, I don't I don't know how good
Michael Parsons is. I think he talks a bigger game

(45:22):
and he's more prominent in that way as far as
being in the in the ether of everybody's like in
the forefront of their mind because of there are glimpses
of him being outstanding, but there are a lot of
moments of him being so quiet as well for that team.
So I don't know if it's I'm sure they're having
discussions and I'm sure that's part of this whole stand

(45:44):
off for what's going on why it's taking so long.
But for me personally, I want to see Michael Parsons
do more. Those other guys that we've seen get paid
they deserved it, and I'm saying this very clearly, So
I mean if anybody listening and cowboy fan like whatever,
I really don't care. I want to see more of
Michael Parsons than what he can do. And so if
I was the one that was supposed to pay him,

(46:05):
I would not be paying for different reasons than just
trying to figure out the dollar amount. So let me
let me move on from that, because I'll go deep
on that. And that's that's the one I'm I'm not
so clear about.

Speaker 3 (46:16):
I have so many questions to this. So it's interesting
what you said.

Speaker 2 (46:21):
You think he he.

Speaker 14 (46:23):
He does a lot of talk, right, he said, Yeah,
he's so much, so vocal. He has the podcast podcast,
and he has done well. But you're saying he actually
has not done as much as you think others.

Speaker 2 (46:37):
Have, including TJ.

Speaker 1 (46:39):
Watt.

Speaker 3 (46:41):
So is he just being hyped up by himself?

Speaker 1 (46:44):
I think that's part of it being a cowboy, Yes,
that's part of it.

Speaker 2 (46:47):
That market, yes, and then all of all of it,
all of that is part of it.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
Yes. And he's also you're not going to find a
pass rusher that's on this level, like even if he's
a tear below those guys.

Speaker 4 (46:59):
That's not knock no no, no, no. And so like I say.

Speaker 1 (47:03):
That, so people, you know, people may like no, no, no,
there's there's levels to this. It doesn't matter how good
you are. You can be paid at the market that
you're supposed to get, pay that and not be as
dominant as the guy that's right there with you, right.

Speaker 3 (47:18):
Because you're you're not.

Speaker 2 (47:19):
Yeah, anyone listening, don't twist the words. You're not knocking
him that. The question is that everyone is expecting Michael
Parsons to surpass this contract. That is what the conversation is.
And we're wondering as we've seen Jerry what's.

Speaker 4 (47:33):
His name, Jary Jones, Jerry Jones.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
I'm gonna say Jerry West. And I knew that wasn't right,
so I talked to myself all day. Jerry Jerry Jones
does this. He waits until the last minute. It's on
his terms.

Speaker 2 (47:45):
It's when he wants it. He'll break the news when
you least expect it. We've seen that. But the expectation
is that he is going to surpass this average annual
value of forty one million. And should he is?

Speaker 3 (47:57):
Now that's the question where I'm here talking to carry us.

Speaker 1 (48:00):
Yeah, and I would say he should not. He should not,
but you know, we'll see. I'm sure he's going to
be right there. If he ties it, I could see
him time. I mean, it's such a dangerous game when
you wait like Jerry Jones does, because yes, the market
goes up and you have to do it, just like
they overpay for Dak Prescott.

Speaker 2 (48:15):
Right, That's that's another conversation there. Huh. So if you're
if you're the Cowboys and he like if you were
the Cowboys carry He's just based on what you're telling
me right now. And if he wanted to break that
record and he wants more than the forty one million, ye,
would you let him walk? Would you let him seek
a trade? Would you be like, Nah, this ain't this

(48:37):
isn't working. He's twenty six years old. Yes, so he's
still young. He's still young, He's got a lot left. Yes,
So is it you pay for potential, you pay for
what it could still be Because you're right, the Cowboys
have been disappointing, underwhelming, Yes, just as a whole.

Speaker 3 (48:50):
So it's like, what have I seen from this guy?

Speaker 2 (48:52):
If you as a team are underwhelming, what really have
you done for this team?

Speaker 1 (48:57):
Yeah? And then you're paying somebody that that dollar amount
and you can't improve other in other areas, So like
what are you doing? Like if this team was in
the playoffs and this team was right in the mix
and had a chance to compete and win, I could
see them paying top dollar for him, because you know,
the premium on the on the on the pass rusher
in the NFL is obviously high and it's something that

(49:17):
you have to have on your team. But if you're
not winning, then you just got an expensive pass rusher
that's you know, going to make some plays, but he
doesn't have somebody on the other end. So when you
gain plan that guy specifically in the season, they're gonna
double team. They're going to make sure he doesn't have
that impact. And so you're really just paying money for that.

Speaker 2 (49:35):
Yeah, like you're you're doing this but losing over here,
and it's just like is this the right is this
the right decision?

Speaker 1 (49:40):
Right?

Speaker 2 (49:40):
But because Jerry Jones has waited so long, it's like,
I don't know what. I don't see them not figuring it.

Speaker 1 (49:47):
Out, and they should. I mean, I'm sure they will
find some solution, but it may it may last all
the way up into training camp.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
So wow, Yeah, I just wasn't expecting you. I just
wasn't expecting you to take in that direction, you know
what I'm saying. But now that I'm thinking about it,
you're not wrong. Like when I think about maybe even
the last couple of years with Michael Parsons, it's like, no, no,
I know you're.

Speaker 3 (50:09):
Great, But is it the marketing that is making you greater?

Speaker 1 (50:12):
Just watch him play?

Speaker 2 (50:13):
Just what? Yeah? Is it just the marketing though, of
the Cowboys marketing, of you having a podcast and you
being outspoken that's making you greater in the last let's
say two years where the Cowboys have been underwhelming.

Speaker 1 (50:26):
Yes, and his because this rookie year was excellent, right,
and it also caught us all, you know, called us
by surprise. I mean, we knew he was gonna be good,
but he came out and like set the league on fire. Right.
But what has he done in these last couple of
years though, He's just been he's been. He's been good.

Speaker 2 (50:40):
He's been good. And the conversation is, do you deserve
to be the highest paid non quarterback? And that is
a conversation that I guess Jerry Jones is maybe contemplating himself.

Speaker 3 (50:51):
Yes, and maybe that's why this is taking a little longer. Interesting.

Speaker 2 (50:54):
Interesting carry Uh, maybe we can ask our NFL insider.

Speaker 1 (50:58):
At a Plato.

Speaker 3 (51:00):
Already worked today.

Speaker 2 (51:01):
By the way, do you know what he worked with?

Speaker 3 (51:03):
You want to feel cheated on?

Speaker 1 (51:05):
Who did he work with?

Speaker 2 (51:06):
Dan Bayer? It doesn't feel like we've been cheating on.

Speaker 1 (51:12):
We've been bamboozo We've.

Speaker 16 (51:14):
Been bambooz He was in this morning with Dan Bayer here,
but we're gonna have him on the other side and
we're gonna dive into this and I want to see
what he thinks about your assessment of Michael Parsons in
the future.

Speaker 2 (51:26):
Don't go anywhere.

Speaker 3 (51:27):
This is Fox Sports Radio. He's carry on, Monty. I'm
like confused on my emotions.

Speaker 2 (51:32):
Right now, Carrie, as I'm telling you off air, my
best friend leaving to New York and I want to cry.
And now this is a great song by Mary Mack,
who's back on the ones and twos.

Speaker 3 (51:40):
So it's like, do I cry, do I dance? Do
I do both?

Speaker 2 (51:43):
I don't know, do both?

Speaker 3 (51:45):
That's not exactly what I'm gonna do. It's not bad tears.

Speaker 2 (51:48):
This is my best friend moved to New York and whatever,
whatever Natalie, you're listening to Box Sports Radio. I am
Moncey Belanios. He is the all pro safety Carry Roads
hanging out with you, and we have our NFL insider
Adam Kaplan doing double duty today.

Speaker 3 (52:05):
Adam, how are you guys?

Speaker 11 (52:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (52:08):
It was fun.

Speaker 10 (52:09):
Dan Barr and I hosted earlier on FSR for two hours.

Speaker 1 (52:12):
Yeah, we don't like that. You know, we feel cheated on.

Speaker 3 (52:17):
Both of you cheated on us, and so that's what
I told Carry. I was like, Carry, he cheated on us.

Speaker 10 (52:24):
So well, you know, I had I had to get
it done. But but we did get to and we
talked a lot of golf, which is interesting, and of
course the the right open got settled, of course, and
uh Scotti Scheffer got it done.

Speaker 1 (52:38):
I know.

Speaker 2 (52:38):
Good, good for him, Good for him. Uh, but thank
you for double dipping today since we know you hosted
earlier today and joining us to talk a little bit
about what's going on in the NFL specifically. I'm gonna
just tell him Carry what you said in case you
missed it.

Speaker 1 (52:52):
Adam.

Speaker 3 (52:52):
We were talking about the extension for t J.

Speaker 2 (52:54):
Watt Okay and what it leads for Michael Parsons, because
that's the discussion, what's gonna happen? Why is Jerry Jones
taking forever? But Carrie Actually, he thinks the discussion should
be that that Michael Parsons should not get this contract
that breaks TJ. Watts contract because he has not necessarily
delivered the way he thinks the last couple of years

(53:16):
for the Cowboys.

Speaker 10 (53:18):
Well, Parsons numbers are fantastic. Now you could argue that
this is his first extension, should he really be breaking
the bank comparatively to what TJ. Watt did. TJ. Watt
got the highest edge rusher contract in September twenty one.
If you remember with TJ. Watts, he actually had a
hold in did not get his deal until September tenth

(53:40):
of that right hugging up to the start of the
season where the Cowboys and Parsons and the Cowboys and Parsons' agent,
Parsons actually talked to Jerry Jones alone, and his agent
David Mulligata also talk to them and so forth, and
they may progress, but it's just because he's I mean,
he's four and a half years younger. M I mean,

(54:00):
he's been a fantastic cowboy. He's been everything they would
hope he would be. I mean, I just don't see
how he could possibly take less than forty one million.
It just I wouldn't do it if I represent it,
because the Moneys you're out there, the money's out there. Yes,
And by the way, Wat got a better structure. You'd
have to really look at both. But I've looked at

(54:21):
both deals and he, to me, he got a little
better deal than Miles Garretts. Miles Garrett is great now.
Trey Hendrickson, now that see this, we didn't mention Trey
Hendrickson that whatever happens with Parsons, if Parsons gets his
deal first, in particular, which should happen, I'm fascinated to
see what the Bengals do because they've also waited. He

(54:42):
is vastly underpaid, severely underpaid, and should never play another
down until he gets high thirties per season.

Speaker 1 (54:49):
Well, Adam, this is the thing. So a lot of
times you look at the stats and you look at
the numbers and they can add up and it looks
like it's it looks like it makes sense. The thing
would Mike go with me? And the reason that I'm
a little bit on the fence with his deal Obviously
he's gonna get paid, and he should get paid. It's
not what I said. I'm saying it in a way
that he doesn't have to top that number. But I

(55:11):
get the game. I understand what that means. I've done
it right. But a lot of his stats they seem
empty to me. And so obviously, with that team not winning,
in that team not being good on defense, your best
player being paid that much, is it? It's just hard
for me as somebody who if I was looking at
being a general manager and running the team like they
have so many other things they need to feel. So

(55:32):
that's that's all. That's that's where I come from with
that deal.

Speaker 10 (55:35):
Adam, Well, think with this way though, light so we
could argue that Dak Prescott did not deserve to be
the highest pace for second NFL history lest year. Yeah,
sixty million dollars a season, four sixty million dollars. Exactly
Why did it happen? Because Jerry waited, yep, every opportunity
previous years to extend the deal. They waited, they waited,

(55:56):
they waited, and Jerry backed in, and he's paying them
sixty million a year with a great structure. They're locked
in for a least two mirors by structure, there's nothing
to do to get out of it. And this is
what happens when you wait. I mean, look, the rule
is you have to wait three years for every drafted player.
So they could have really gotten in early and said,

(56:17):
you know what, we're going to pay over market. It's
twenty we're going to go to the twenty four season
after the twenty three season, and we're going to pay
over market. Well they didn't do that. They waited two
more seasons. Parsons is on its fifth year option, making
about twenty four million, but they've waited now and they're
going to have to pay. I there's just Look, he's
obviously not going to play this season until he gets

(56:38):
his deal. And boy, these the longer you wait in
this business, almost always you pay more. That's just the
way it is.

Speaker 2 (56:46):
Yeah. Well, speaking of contracts and disputes, what is the
latest with wide receiver Terry McLaurin and the Commanders. Apparently
he's frustrated, disappointed by the lack of progress.

Speaker 10 (56:56):
Yeah, he said it last week. Yeah, I expect this
to get done. I'm not so going who puts timelines
on anything, But because he's a vested veteran and he
stands to lose money in training camp. Now I know
that this ownership group and this front office did not
drant McLaurin. It doesn't really matter. I know some people
pointed that out, but there's no bearing on it. They

(57:19):
have nowhere to go with McLaurin.

Speaker 2 (57:21):
For let's.

Speaker 10 (57:23):
It's not gonna happen. But just to explore this, let's
say the bottom fell out and McLaurin said, you know what,
I'm gonna miss the I'm gonna hold out. I'm gonna
get fine, like crazy, lose a lot of money, and
he holds out into the season. Well, this would force
him to trade for a receiver because Deebo Samuel is
a certain type of receiver. He's not really a downfield
guy like McLaurin. They don't really have anyone else. This

(57:45):
would severely impact their offense. And by the way their offense,
I could tell you that a big part of their
off season was dedicated to helping Jade and Daniels and
what's around him? How do they do it? We just
mentioned Deebo Samuel. The trade for Laramie Tunsel. They gave
up a lot for him. Josh Cornelly, the first round
pick out of Oregon, who was a left tackle on college,

(58:08):
is going to move to right tackle. They feel they
got the athleticism and the talent now on their offensive line.
They drafted a tight end last year, Ben Sinon from
Kansas State, who I really liked it. He wasn't quite ready,
I'm told, but he should be ready more to to
contribute him. And they brought zach Ertz back. So they
feel that they could take this thing to the next level.
But they have to deal with their best receiver, McLure,

(58:28):
and they know that there's not much they can do
without them.

Speaker 1 (58:30):
Well, let's stay with Let's stay with that Commander's team.
There's an off beat story going on right now that
there's some rumbling about changing the name back to the
back to the red Skins. What do you think about that, Adam,
Is that going to happen?

Speaker 10 (58:41):
Well, I saw what the president said, so that's gonna
be that's your look. I know there's a willingness to
eventually change it. Yeah, not back to the Redskins, but
to Commander's name. Really never quite worked right, and that
was obviously not with this ownership group. We have to
remember Daniel Schneiders forced to change it. So that's something

(59:02):
to watch. I mean, for those of us are over forty,
kind of grew up with this. This MC with watched
the Commanders. He's seeing the redskins of the Cowboys, Giants,
and Eagles. So yeah, and look Josh Harris's ownership group.
They own the Commanders, right, they own the Philadelphia seventy
six ers, they own the New Jersey Devils of Hockey.

(59:23):
He's a really good owner. Talking to people of work
for him in the past, he's demanding, but he kind
of stays out of the way. He wants to know things,
he wants to get involved to a certain degree. He
never tells anyone to do when it comes to foot operations.
He lets people do what they're going to do. But
when it comes to the name and if they ever exploded,
because remember they're eventually going to get a new stadium

(59:44):
that's going to happen, that's when I think that we
can have the name change to what we'll see. That's
the issue.

Speaker 2 (59:51):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio where we're talking to
our NFL insider, Adam Kaplan Adam Tyler.

Speaker 3 (59:57):
Shuck shut shuck, shut shuck, shuck, I knew I was.

Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
I know, it's not the way I would spelled like
shall that's what I say.

Speaker 10 (01:00:04):
I was like six months to get it right out.
Every person who has that spelling that I know is shell.

Speaker 3 (01:00:09):
So shuck shuck shuck.

Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
Tyler shook. Yes, second round pick with the fully guaranteed deal.
Now with the Saints, are you shocked about this? Is
this going to be the beginning of other second rounders?

Speaker 10 (01:00:21):
Well, we've seen it a lot of them, folks. What
happened was so Jane Higgins the second round for the Texans,
he got his. He was the first one to get it,
the fully guaranteed second round pick. A majority of them
are getting almost all of it in the Remember they
signed four year deals, almost all of it guaranteed. So
this is good, like good for the agents to do that.

(01:00:43):
This is something we've never seen before. So this is well,
not having negotiating new CBA, which won't be up till
March of twenty twenty thirty one, at least we're getting
now something that the NFLPA should have argued for harder.
They've brought it up before, they never really pushed it
hard enough. And hopefully whenever we get this nonsense with
the nfl PA, which seemed to lead is never ending.

(01:01:04):
They're gonna have an interim director, then they're gonna have
to get a permanent guy over the next couple of years.
But there's so much that they have to do carry
you know, as a former player, there's just there's just
something going on here which I scratched my head with.

Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
Yeah, I'm lobbying for all the all of them at
least to the fourth round, you know, fourth round, to
get those those garrets fourth round.

Speaker 17 (01:01:23):
No, No, But honestly, it's called the way that the
league looks at it is Okay, third day pick is
the fourth rone pick, so there's no way you're guaranteeing
four years.

Speaker 10 (01:01:33):
How about two years something? Yeah, how about the second year?
Third round picks? How about getting into the third year?
So that No, that that's a good discussion. That's something
that that's something that that the PA should be arguing
for down the road.

Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
All right, let's move on to the Bengals here, Adam.
Before we let you go, Shamar Stewart still not reporting
every apparently all the rookies reported. Even there was another
issue with another like second round pick. But that's already
been resolved with the Bengals. It's literally just Schamar Stewart.

Speaker 3 (01:02:07):
Is he obviously not going to go back to Texas
A and M.

Speaker 10 (01:02:11):
That's not, by the way. That was all wrong, all
that that stuff by these aggregators, they were all wrong.
They didn't understand he's not going back there.

Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
Yeah, it seemed very messy to even try to do that.

Speaker 10 (01:02:20):
No, he's working out what you could work out there,
but you can't practice with.

Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
Them because he would have to what sue the NCAA
maybe in order to get his final year of eligibility.

Speaker 10 (01:02:28):
Yeah, there's a lot, by the way, and we're gonna
we're we're gonna talk about this more going forward because
if this thing goes, folks to late August in early September. Yeah,
then new goership point where I can't play this season
okay by bye rule. Well again, we'll get to that
if this happens. But this is the problem. You can't
change the rules like last year. Okay, Mary Smims. He

(01:02:52):
didn't have the language in his contract that the Bungles
would to stick a turner's contract. It's the default language,
which all the veterans get. Carrie knows this. You can't
jump out of a plane. And also if you if
you get suspended for any reason, we can avoid your
guarantees in your contract, all the fully guaranteed money. We

(01:03:14):
could so mix it, just base salary, no guarantees. Smartly,
his Asia is not going for that. Like, what are
you trying to do to us? So you can't do this?
You do do it to Mary Smims. See, this is
what I mean. You can't change the rules. It's not
that it's a rule, So you can't change the way
you do business with your players. That's just not right.
And no other team's done it and he's not. He's
just not going to do it.

Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
Man, it seems like it can get messy.

Speaker 10 (01:03:38):
Not a good way to do business.

Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
Not a good way to do business, not a good
thing for the Bengals and anybody that would go to
the Bengals exactly right, Like it's just yeah that part. Adam,
thank you so much for joining us. We appreciate you.

Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
Knowing that you had a three hour show, a two hour.

Speaker 2 (01:03:54):
Two hour show.

Speaker 10 (01:03:55):
It's podcasts. See you could listen to us.

Speaker 4 (01:03:57):
Yes, I'm going to.

Speaker 10 (01:03:58):
List I'm going to what and that that was interesting?

Speaker 1 (01:04:01):
I'm going to listen and I'm going to hate Adam.
I'm going to just hate.

Speaker 10 (01:04:04):
I'm wett did a little Draymond Green Shoffler, we did
a lot of still. Yeah, we covered Dan and I
covered a lot of ground today.

Speaker 2 (01:04:12):
Well there you go. Adam Kaplan our NFL insider. You
can follow him on ex Twitter at Kaplan NFL. Thanks Adam,

Speaker 1 (01:04:21):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:04:23):
As you heard it, you can stream the podcast that
he had with tan Byer.

Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
Carry is not happy about it.

Speaker 7 (01:04:30):
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
We feel cheated on by both of them individuals, both
of them, not just Adam, not just Dan.

Speaker 3 (01:04:36):
I'll both of them exactly. But let's check in with
our news desk.

Speaker 2 (01:04:43):
Chris Burfette has officially moved to that side of the studio. Chris,
what's going on?

Speaker 7 (01:04:46):
I was gonna say that in Kaplin's cheating with you guys,
what does that make like me and me and Shay
who have to work like three different shows around here?

Speaker 1 (01:04:56):
Relationship? Is this a polychoole? This is like an open relationship.

Speaker 7 (01:05:02):
With benefits, enough to desk with benefits exactly. All right,
let's catch you up on what's been going around in
the world of sport. Let's start with the baseball scoreboard.
Here a couple pass games. Blue Jays pick up their
tenth straight wins. Is The beat the Giants eight to six.
Xander Bogart gets a Boguards gets a grand slam in
the Padres crush the Nationals eight to one. Aaron Judge

(01:05:24):
ties Alex Rodriguez on the Yankees all time home run
list with a three hundred and fifty first home run.
Yankees dismissed the Braves four to two. Live games right now,
the Dodgers and Brewers still going at it. Brewers with
a six to four lead bottom of the eighth inning.
The Dodger's still looking to get their first win over

(01:05:44):
Milwaukee this season. Astros four to three, top of the
six over the Mariners. NFL News defensive end George Carl
Loftis agrees to a three year, eighty eight million dollar
extension with the Kansas City Chiefs, as more defensive ends
keep getting paid out there and more fallout from the
NFLPA scandals, as chief strategy officer and former NFLPA president
JC Tretder is resigning, following former executive director Lloyd Howell

(01:06:08):
Junior out the door amid take your pick of how
many scandals have been going on with the Players Association
right now. Just need a full clean house. Scotti Scheffler
earlier wins the Open Championship. He didn't hit above par
on round three, kept the lead for the entire final round.
This is his fourth major win, first at the Open,

(01:06:29):
and now all that remains between him and a Grand
Slam is the US Open. Carrie and Monsey back.

Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
To be Thank you, Chris. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Game happened last night? Did you watch any of it?

Speaker 1 (01:07:05):
I did.

Speaker 4 (01:07:05):
It's all right, No of this is fine and.

Speaker 2 (01:07:07):
Most people didn't. Actually I tuned in for a little
bit of it, maybe like the first half. And I
watched the intros and you know, give it up for
Kaitlin Clark, who was not in street clothes like Lebron
James that he missed the All Star Game because he
was injured. She was in her uniform. The picture she
doesn't stand out. She's actually dressed even though she's injured.
And so for this game, everyone's talking about their shirts

(01:07:27):
of people are like, why are they asking for money?
This is a company that doesn't make money. Okay, we
got that, I get it.

Speaker 1 (01:07:34):
We don't care.

Speaker 3 (01:07:34):
I don't care about that.

Speaker 2 (01:07:35):
What I will tell you watching the game, they had
like two logos for deep threes and if you made
these deep threes, you.

Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
Got four points in the All Star Game.

Speaker 11 (01:07:45):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:07:45):
I was like, okay, And it got me thinking. Got
me thinking, what if in the NBA All Star Game,
which we all have criticized critiques for years now because
it sucks because the thing we want is defense. We
just want to see defensive plays. Yeah, what if we
reward defensive plays in the All Star Game? In the NBA,

(01:08:08):
for example, a block, you get a block, you take
five points off of the opposing team's score. You get
a steal, you get three points taken off.

Speaker 1 (01:08:19):
I'm gonna look at you and say, absolutely not, Monty.

Speaker 2 (01:08:21):
Why not. Don't you want to see some defensive play.

Speaker 3 (01:08:25):
Don't you want to see Kevin Durant run down and
block Palo Bank?

Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
Carol?

Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
Sure, but why do we have to make a point
system for them to come out and compete?

Speaker 2 (01:08:33):
Because apparently they nothing else worse, nothing else has worked.
I think this can be the start of an idea,
you know what I'm saying. Like, imagine if the final score.
Nobody watches the NBL Star Game, but at the end
you tune in and you're like, seventy.

Speaker 3 (01:08:46):
Nine to twenty three. How did that happen?

Speaker 1 (01:08:48):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
Because they had fifteen blocks and that took away X
amount of points.

Speaker 15 (01:08:52):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (01:08:53):
I see what you're saying. I see what you're getting that.
I think. Yes, I mean the insensive, insensive part of
the game and making it interesting would be probably for
the first time, something cool. But I'm telling you now,
the purists are going to come knocking at your door
and they are going to put you in restraints, tie
you down and shake you and be like Manty, the

(01:09:14):
idea is great, but we don't want any of that.
I'm telling you it will be it'll be pretty radical
to see.

Speaker 3 (01:09:20):
Well, it already is a hot mess. It's already y'all.
You're not playing purists, you're not playing.

Speaker 2 (01:09:27):
That is what we're arguing that we want to see
pure basketball. We want to actually see some competition, some defense,
and this I feel like would allow moments of defense.
Not the entire time, but those times where like they're
just standing there and they're letting a guy drive by.
Oh maybe maybe a player will be like, you know what,
I feel like getting a block here.

Speaker 3 (01:09:47):
I feel like taking five points off of their score.

Speaker 1 (01:09:50):
I mean, listen, I like you. I like you for
being innovative and trying to spark interest back in the
All Stars to do it. I know, but I'm telling
you that will I won't fly. I don't. I don't.
I don't feel that will fly.

Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
I'm gonna change your mind.

Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
I don't know how. This is just the beginning of
my idea. Okay, it's going it's it's gonna get better
as I developed. But this came from watching a piece
of the w n BO Star Game. So I'm gonna,
I'm gonna, I'm gonna change your mind. That's gonna be
my goal in the next couple of weeks to change
your mind for this idea that I have. On the
other side of this, It's time for a little easy
as one two three four, Little MLB, little NB, a little.

Speaker 3 (01:10:28):
Britney Spears, don't go anywhere. It's Fox Sports Radio again.

Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
It is Fox Sports Sunday, young music.

Speaker 4 (01:10:38):
I don't know nothing about that.

Speaker 2 (01:10:40):
What did she just say?

Speaker 1 (01:10:41):
This is that young music? We don't know anything about.

Speaker 2 (01:10:44):
We don't know anything about this. Carrie looks like he
knows this.

Speaker 4 (01:10:48):
Jamin over there, I'm doing the dance only hands moving.

Speaker 3 (01:10:54):
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:10:56):
He's Carrie all pro Safety.

Speaker 18 (01:10:58):
I'm Monty Belanyos, and I just want everyone to know
that Will agrees with me on the idea of getting
points for defensive plays in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (01:11:09):
All Star Game.

Speaker 3 (01:11:10):
Will Sarah, thanks for tweeting at me. I agree. It
is a good idea.

Speaker 2 (01:11:14):
Carrie.

Speaker 1 (01:11:16):
Well, you and Will agree, yes, uh huh, yeah, that's
all I know.

Speaker 2 (01:11:21):
Nobody's tweeted and said I agree with Carrie, So I
think I'm winning.

Speaker 1 (01:11:27):
Writtney.

Speaker 3 (01:11:28):
Thank you, Will Sarah.

Speaker 2 (01:11:30):
Let's get into it. Let's have some fun.

Speaker 3 (01:11:32):
Easy as one two three four if you've never heard
this segment. I basically test the.

Speaker 2 (01:11:38):
Crew's knowledge all of these unks, all of them, they're
all unks here. They have each other.

Speaker 3 (01:11:46):
I mean, Carrie has the lifelines in case he needs help.

Speaker 1 (01:11:49):
Uncle Kerry, Uncle carry. Oh, you guys are we all
have a common enemy.

Speaker 14 (01:11:54):
And okay, I love how you.

Speaker 1 (01:12:03):
I got time today, I.

Speaker 2 (01:12:04):
Got you know day she is talking smacks.

Speaker 1 (01:12:13):
I told you it was gonna happen. I told you.

Speaker 2 (01:12:15):
All right, let's see, I'm gonna again. How hard did
I make this?

Speaker 11 (01:12:18):
Right?

Speaker 3 (01:12:19):
I think I made this smidgey hard. I say you
get that one.

Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
One, two, three, four, five, you should get out of six?
All right, let's do it seven and a half. I'm
gonna believe in you guys. Maybe I read this hard.

Speaker 3 (01:12:35):
It's a total of ten points for easy as one, two, three, four.

Speaker 2 (01:12:37):
Again, Carrie's got lifelines, Mary, Shay, Chris, they are all
here to help him get to the final answer.

Speaker 3 (01:12:44):
And he doesn't have to give me the whole answer,
just a piece of the answer.

Speaker 2 (01:12:46):
And we're gonna start with music here, according to Billboard. Okay,
remember Billboard does their own calculations based.

Speaker 1 (01:12:56):
On based on bots.

Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
Let's okay, so and.

Speaker 1 (01:13:00):
Figure it out by the box.

Speaker 2 (01:13:02):
According to Billboard, name one of two top songs for
Britney Spears.

Speaker 3 (01:13:06):
What are whatever two top songs?

Speaker 1 (01:13:08):
I mean you would think like, oops, I did it again,
and like slave for you? And what are the other ones?
I think those are two options. Hit Me Baby one
more Time? That's what that's one of them. I would
think as well, it's probably hit Me Baby. That was
pretty big and it's still big. You think so that?
And oops are like your.

Speaker 7 (01:13:31):
Look at you, Chris, gonna go back to the nineties here.

Speaker 1 (01:13:39):
No, we have to. I'm gonna take those two.

Speaker 4 (01:13:41):
From Chris one. Just give me one of the one.

Speaker 1 (01:13:43):
So what's one of them? You agree? Oh, we can
only do one? Yeah, all right, let's go hit Me
Baby one more time?

Speaker 3 (01:13:53):
Show me.

Speaker 2 (01:13:55):
That's one, Chris, that's right, well done?

Speaker 1 (01:13:59):
Wis two?

Speaker 3 (01:14:00):
Womanizer? Oh that is a good song. That is a
good song?

Speaker 1 (01:14:06):
Is work beyond that?

Speaker 3 (01:14:08):
I don't know where work? No, I don't.

Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
The next one was was a collaboration. Remember how for
the Justin Bieber one they had some collaborations. The other
one that I wrote down on my notes was that
Circus came in at number six. That's like what I
what I found interesting from the list, But hit me
baby one more time? No, who knows? All right?

Speaker 3 (01:14:24):
Moving on here, you're on the board, guys, good job,
all right.

Speaker 2 (01:14:27):
Ken Griffy Junior holds the record for the most home
run Derby wins. He's won three times. Name two of
the three players that I've won it twice?

Speaker 1 (01:14:37):
Two of them? Has Judge won it twice? Shay, you're
you're my baseball guy. Gonna, I would, I mean, all
Star Games is a different thing.

Speaker 6 (01:14:49):
I know he said won it twice. I don't think
Judge has done too. I don't think you know, I
don't think he's done too. Has he done too?

Speaker 1 (01:14:56):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:14:57):
He's not the type of person I would think that
would do too, is he. I don't look at he's not.

Speaker 1 (01:15:03):
He's not that.

Speaker 6 (01:15:03):
I don't even think he's done one yet.

Speaker 1 (01:15:09):
It's gotta be like it's gonna be someone they want
it twice? Yes, one, you gotta go back, you gotta
go back, yes, like like McGuire, like very so.

Speaker 6 (01:15:22):
Sorry is a good one. So this is actually a
really good one, I think, Sosa, how long did you
play for? Play for a while? I played for a
long time, so I like Sosa or McGuire. Honestly, I
like both of them, but we need we need to,
we need to let's do both, Let's do both of them.

Speaker 1 (01:15:37):
I don't know MASSI. This is like I think she's
doing this now.

Speaker 7 (01:15:42):
When Sosa and McGuire went head to head in a
few of those yea, so like one of them has
to have been there.

Speaker 1 (01:15:49):
To be one of them. No, I know one of
them for I would think I'm.

Speaker 7 (01:15:52):
Saying one of them the other one though, isn't winning
multiple right right?

Speaker 1 (01:15:55):
Look at her, looking at her?

Speaker 6 (01:15:56):
Even McGuire, that's got McGuire.

Speaker 1 (01:15:59):
You want to go?

Speaker 6 (01:16:00):
We did one more though, wire and uh, oh.

Speaker 1 (01:16:05):
Don't ask me. I'll say, babe, babe was bonds and two?
Did Bonds do more than one? I don't think so,
I don't think so it's going to be one. We
don't think about the answer. Here, go ahead, you got
a name?

Speaker 2 (01:16:22):
No, okay, so are we just going Sosa and McGuire,
Then let's just go all right? Is it Mark McGuire,
Is it Sammy Sosa?

Speaker 15 (01:16:34):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:16:34):
Pen Alonso just did this?

Speaker 1 (01:16:36):
Oh, I wouldn't have thought of the bear at all.

Speaker 2 (01:16:38):
Peter Alonzo won it last year won it back to back,
went back to back.

Speaker 3 (01:16:41):
Peter Lonzo was the most recent the.

Speaker 1 (01:16:43):
Home run derby, Yes, Oscar Hernandez.

Speaker 3 (01:16:46):
Oh then two years ago. Sorry, but he wanted he
did win it back to back.

Speaker 1 (01:16:49):
Absolutely, I see, okay, okay, alright, all right, actually.

Speaker 3 (01:16:54):
Right, and those guys took it from him exactly. Yeah,
you're right, Prince Fielder.

Speaker 1 (01:16:59):
Yeah, I would, I would thoughts at all.

Speaker 2 (01:17:01):
And then the one assess for this you probably, but
Peter Alonzo. I thought you would get to pee Alonzo,
so that on sh.

Speaker 1 (01:17:09):
Okay one, but I forgot, how did it active?

Speaker 3 (01:17:12):
It's all good, It's all good, all right, right into one.

Speaker 2 (01:17:14):
You can you can still do this here, guys, all right,
name three of the four teams with the most MLB
All Star appearances all time?

Speaker 3 (01:17:22):
Like, if we just tell you up what teams have
the most all Stars?

Speaker 1 (01:17:26):
The team? Yes, team most all stars.

Speaker 3 (01:17:28):
Over all time, all three of the four teams.

Speaker 1 (01:17:32):
I mean you think you think Dodgers, Yankees, you would think, right, like,
Dodgers have always been good, so we can put them
up there.

Speaker 7 (01:17:39):
Rads, maybe Cardinals, it's got to be Cardinals the other one.

Speaker 1 (01:17:43):
Yeah, you think Cardinals and Cardinals.

Speaker 7 (01:17:45):
If you want to talk about teams have been good
for an extremely long time. Gas and Cardinals.

Speaker 6 (01:17:49):
I like Cardinals. I'll just say Rads, but Cardinals that
I like Cardinals more. Honestly, what about Ashtos as well?

Speaker 7 (01:17:55):
You're you should look at the history books of the
Cardinals sometimes league.

Speaker 1 (01:18:01):
Oh I'm not contesting that at all. Oh wait, they
more than two. I'm sorry you had three or the
forty three?

Speaker 6 (01:18:07):
Yeah, so Dodgers, Cardinal, Cardinals, Dodgers, and should we just
say Giants or Giants?

Speaker 1 (01:18:14):
Maybe an American League team here Boston. Well, we got
to think about older teams too. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:18:19):
No, Like, it's not going to be like diamond Back.
It's not going to be. I don't think it's gonna
I like the Red Sox actually too, I like the
Red Sox too. Red Sox are Yankees? I mean the
Yankee I'm you choose Red Sox and Yankees right now?
I'm gonna go Yankees.

Speaker 3 (01:18:35):
All right? Great, so there we go.

Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
Three.

Speaker 3 (01:18:38):
All right, show me the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (01:18:40):
Yes, on this list, they come in at number three,
actually three hundred and twenty seven. Show me the Cardinals.
They come in at number two. Good job, Chris, three
and thirty show me the Yankees, I mean, and at
number one.

Speaker 3 (01:18:53):
Four hundred and forty eight, Red Sox was also corrised.

Speaker 1 (01:18:56):
There we go.

Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
They were also correct three hundred and eighteen and I
mean in braves coming into round eighty three.

Speaker 3 (01:19:04):
So good job, you guys got all those there. We've
got one minute.

Speaker 2 (01:19:07):
So be quick. Here name four of the five NBA
players who have locked the most minutes during this past
regular season. Who locked the most minutes in eighty two
games of the regular season no postseason at all. Four
of the five NBA players.

Speaker 1 (01:19:20):
Four of the five I know one of them. That's
Michael Bridges the most minutes. That's so hard Michel Bridges
that I would say, like, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:19:39):
Think about it, we've got thirty, but we can finish this.
On the other side, you guys don't have any suggestions
for him.

Speaker 1 (01:19:44):
I know it's Michael Bridges, but I don't know who else. Guys.
You guys are going to help. They have to help
me with that one. M Tomorrow. I think tomorrow he
could be the most Like two years ago. I know
that we're going to have to go O.

Speaker 2 (01:20:00):
On the other side, don't go anywhere he's carry I'm Manzi.
It's easy As one, two, three four, Fox Sports Radio.
What's up? Everybody Happy Sunday? Thanks for tuning in to
Fox Sports Radio. He's carry all pro safety. I'm Manzi
diving into the final hour here and the crew and Carrie.

Speaker 3 (01:20:22):
We're in the middle of easy.

Speaker 2 (01:20:23):
As one, two, three four, and we have to now
finish it with this final question. No pressure on you, guys,
because you have to get all four of these in
order to win today's game. I made it hard for
you and the final question here and easy as one, two,
three four. If you're just tuning in, it's basically a
trivia game here with the crew. They don't have to
give me the whole answer, just a piece of it.
Four questions total of ten points. I gave them a

(01:20:45):
seven and a half over under, so I had to
get eight in order to win today's game. They can't
still do it with this final question, which is name
four of the five NBA players who have logged the
most minutes during this past regular season, so the eighty
two games, no post season, just regular season. Four of
the five NBA players who do We got guys and ladies.

Speaker 1 (01:21:06):
All right, so I I know mkill Bridges for sure.
I'm gonna throw out SGA. I'm gonna throw out Jason Tatum.

Speaker 6 (01:21:20):
No, SGA said a lot of games. I don't think
he started blowing out people and they would sit at
the end of the Oh you mean time time wise,
I just wouldn't. I would do people like Jalen Brunson.

Speaker 1 (01:21:30):
We mentioned Donovan Mitchell, I got, I got Yokis on
my list. He said, I have him on my list.
I haven't said him yet. But but Michel Bridges, Jason
Tatum in my mind, Nikola Jokics, And you don't think
s c A.

Speaker 6 (01:21:46):
I don't think SGA just because there were a lot
of games, and that part makes a lot of I
think he rested a lot more than most. He would
be bench like their bench would come in, or like
he just wouldn't play.

Speaker 1 (01:21:56):
I'm just thinking because he wasn't injured. So he played
a lot of games. Was that much injured?

Speaker 6 (01:22:02):
Yes, like like for a while R yes, yeah, so
not him? No, what do we damar?

Speaker 1 (01:22:08):
You keep going to DeMar DeRozan?

Speaker 6 (01:22:10):
He plays the most like out of anyone, Like he
averages like the like it's a thing like like it's
like like two years ago he had the he was
mckail Bridges two years ago basically, and then like he
always plays a lot of we.

Speaker 1 (01:22:21):
Need all four, say, I think Michael Bridges, Jayson Tatum
and Yo Kicch. I think okay, I think for sure,
but we need one more though, So I like who
Devin Booker? Oh baby, I don't think. So why are
you looking on run out?

Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
Because you guys tell me that I give you answers.

Speaker 4 (01:22:39):
So I'm like, not like, I'm just gonna take up
the rest of the show.

Speaker 1 (01:22:44):
No, no, no, no, it isn't. I'm going with s g A.

Speaker 3 (01:22:49):
All right, So what are your four?

Speaker 2 (01:22:50):
I wrote down atkel Bridges is only one because I
wasn't sure where you else you were gonna pay them?

Speaker 1 (01:22:54):
Kich and s g A. And I'm just saying it
because they played most of the games and they play
heavy minutes usually, So I'll go with him, sure, all right,
it's not right because she's.

Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
It's not right, She's sure, Okay, show me Michael Bridges. Yes,
coming in at number one, three thousand and thirty six
minutes minutes. That is a lot of minutes, is it,
Jason Tatum? Is it? Shake Gill just Alexander is it?
Nicola Yokich.

Speaker 1 (01:23:25):
Man, let's all right.

Speaker 2 (01:23:29):
So you guys should have stuck with the Knicks, you
know that, Tom Tobudeau time. Josh comes in at number
two two thousand, eight hundred and ninety seven. Yeah, it's
a lot. Coming in at number three, Anthony Edwards two thousand,
eight hundred.

Speaker 3 (01:23:46):
And seventy one.

Speaker 1 (01:23:48):
That's a good one.

Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
Coming in at number four, Devin Booker two thousand, seven.

Speaker 3 (01:23:56):
Hundred and ninety five.

Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
Coming in at number five, James Harden, Wow, two thousand,
seven hundred and eighty nine. I was telling carry that
the reason I came up with this question. I was
reading an article it's Harden, and they showed me his
minutes and I was like, that seems like a lot,
and I don't.

Speaker 1 (01:24:12):
Actually couldn't work years, but not in.

Speaker 2 (01:24:14):
The not in the postseason.

Speaker 3 (01:24:15):
It was just right. And coming in at number six, Demark,
it was close. Yeah, you would have gotten you a
point two thousand would I would have given you the point,
but it wouldn't have been because he's a six.

Speaker 2 (01:24:30):
But that was that was on my list. Two thousand,
seven hundred and sixty eight for.

Speaker 4 (01:24:34):
Demart Josh Okay, he always plays.

Speaker 1 (01:24:36):
He plays like crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:24:37):
He does.

Speaker 1 (01:24:37):
It's insane he does. Yeah, he's a baller.

Speaker 3 (01:24:39):
But you guys should have the nick one. You guys
should have stuck on the when you went to J
and Brunts and I was like, oh, maybe they'll get there,
Maybe they'll realize, like the.

Speaker 2 (01:24:46):
Whole storyline that happened in the postseason and them running
the same six players all day.

Speaker 1 (01:24:49):
That's so hard that it was the minute part of
it because he of course you don't watch.

Speaker 6 (01:24:55):
I love that in fact that we think Anthony Edwards
is pissing me.

Speaker 14 (01:24:58):
Me too, And yeah, but that was good job, guys,
that was fun.

Speaker 2 (01:25:01):
You did it.

Speaker 3 (01:25:01):
You didn't win today. You always tend to win.

Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
But this is a good discussion to dive into it.
And we're gonna keep talking right now. NBA off season
moves are happening. Yeah, we could talk about Bradley Beal
and the Clippers, but why already said how I felt
you should listen to the podcast Marcus Smart and the Lakers.

Speaker 3 (01:25:16):
Great move, who's gonna play defense? Marcus Smart?

Speaker 2 (01:25:19):
The big thing right now that I am just all
about Carrie. I am so happy that Damian Lillard is
going back to the Portland, trailblazer for so many reasons.

Speaker 3 (01:25:34):
The grass is not always greener.

Speaker 2 (01:25:36):
And he tried, and it wasn't just him, you know, trailblazer,
the fans that Portland, they loved him, and nobody was
holding it against him that he wanted to try, because
it just wasn't working in Portland, you know, LaMarcus Aldridge,
like they tried.

Speaker 3 (01:25:52):
They tried to CJ. McCollum, they tried, Portland tried.

Speaker 2 (01:25:55):
It just didn't work. It's been a tough West for
many years. So he tries, and everybody's for it. Seems like, yeah,
Damien Dame, time in Milwaukee, you go win a championship,
does not work out, gets injured, and here's Portland saying,
even though you are older, you are injured, you're not

(01:26:16):
playing until another year. Come back home. We're gonna pay
you out and you're gonna go out the way you should.

Speaker 1 (01:26:24):
Mister Cotter, Welcome back, Welcome back.

Speaker 3 (01:26:28):
I love this.

Speaker 2 (01:26:29):
I feel like it's a great example for the younger
NBA generation coming into this because now it's like, I
wonder how Damian Lillard feels. I wonder if he thought
it was worth it. Was it worth it? Because you
went to try, You tried, you did what you were
you know, what you thought was right, and it didn't
work out. Grass is not always greener. And now you're

(01:26:49):
back and you're just gonna end your career where I
think it should have always been. I as much as
I didn't blame him for leaving to go to Milwaukee, yeah,
I was like, man, you should have stayed in Portland.

Speaker 1 (01:27:00):
The grass isn't always greener for both sides in the exactuation, right,
you lose a player that's taking you to the playoffs,
that you've been a perennial playoff team, you've been on
the cusp of, you know, breaking through and possibly making
to the finals one year, and you know you've had success.
I mean, the tenure under Damian Lillard has been nothing
but a success. It means been a model citizen for

(01:27:23):
that organization, for that city, for that for the state.
And so to be able to bring a player like
that back into the fold and actually treat them and
take them back with the same care that they've shown
you and throughout their tenure and throughout their tenure in
this league, it's a beautiful thing to see. And I
think that's the only story that really feels like heart

(01:27:46):
like good, like good like heartwarming, and like ah, like
that feels really good to anything, to everything about me
as as a human being too. So it's really cool
to say I agree with you, right.

Speaker 3 (01:27:58):
I feel like most people are like, yeah, go back
to Portland.

Speaker 1 (01:28:01):
Yeah, Dame Lebron take take notes like that.

Speaker 2 (01:28:06):
Right exactly, Yeah, I especially because he's injured.

Speaker 3 (01:28:09):
To right, You're just like like what they're what they're.

Speaker 2 (01:28:12):
Showing is like You've always been our dude, and we
appreciate what you did. We understood that you had to
leave to try. We get that. But welcome back, Welcome back.
And I think I agree, such a good feel story from.

Speaker 3 (01:28:25):
Beginning to end.

Speaker 2 (01:28:26):
And now we get to, you know, see him one
last time or maybe whatever whenever it is as a
Portland Trailblazer because it was a two year deal, I believe.
But he's not going to really play for most of
this upcoming season. But we can dive into a little
bit of the Lakers and what they're doing here with
Marcus Smart. I I a smart move, no no question
about it. In a in a buyout situation, being able

(01:28:47):
to get Marcus Smart is Marcus Smart from going from
the Grizzlies, was with the Wizards right now going to
the Lakers. I feel like for him, he's like, oh, yes,
please pair me with sobody like Luka Doncic that can
just do heavy lifting offensively and I'll do some of
the heavy lifting defensively.

Speaker 1 (01:29:07):
Yeah. No, I think it's a perfect fit for them.
You got to have somebody on the perimeter when you
pair to pair with Luca, right, Luca, we know his
defense is not a strong suit. Now he will.

Speaker 4 (01:29:22):
He's lost to weight though, and when it.

Speaker 1 (01:29:25):
Counts he does put effort on it. Oh yeah, yeah,
so I want to say that, But yeah, Marcus smart
with the Lakers is a smart move. Like you eloquently said,
He's somebody that you always want in the foxhole with you.
Every team that he's on that has a chance to
win is going to be better because of him. And
he's going to be a guy that leads by example.
He's going to hold guys accountable on the defensive side

(01:29:45):
of the ball, and I think for the Lakers it's
a great move. He's going to be a guy that's
going to play hard day in and day out. The
only question, which is always the question with anybody in
any team. Is is he going to be healthy? He
hasn't been healthy the last couple of years, and that's
part of the attrition that it takes to be consistent
and be a playmaker on that side of the ball,
on the defensive side of the ball. So I want

(01:30:07):
to see how it plays out. But on paper, right now,
it's the next on the move.

Speaker 2 (01:30:11):
On paper, it was like a no brainer, ye for
the Lakers to make this decision. And Luka doncis reaching
out as the story goes, and he's the one who
kind of reached out and recruited him and told him
to come. It does seem like a good fit. You're right,
is he gonna stay healthy enough when it matters? Because
you know, regular season, as we've noticed, it matters, but

(01:30:31):
not as much. Seating does matter a little bit, but
again not as much. It goes down to the wire.

Speaker 1 (01:30:36):
U plusture for you guys real quick.

Speaker 3 (01:30:38):
Yeah, what's up, sha Is?

Speaker 6 (01:30:39):
You're talking like he's gonna be on the starting lineup?
So do you think he's gonna be on the starting lineup?

Speaker 1 (01:30:42):
I think he should be. Okay, Oh so then over
r reeves that's that's a good question.

Speaker 2 (01:30:48):
That is a good question because as Laker fan, Yeah, yeah,
I feel like Ruey when when he's good, it's really
fun and great to watch, and then when he's ineffective,
you're like.

Speaker 3 (01:30:59):
What do you what are you doing out there? You're
so tall, I feel like you should.

Speaker 1 (01:31:02):
Be He conflicts too much with Lebron.

Speaker 3 (01:31:03):
Is that what you think about?

Speaker 6 (01:31:04):
I think I think there's too many overlapping issues between
them two that I think it's going to be end
up being Rui. I would rather have Reeves come in
with the second team, honestly, because then the second team
would be a lot better. Yep, and have Marcus have
him be the third option. But I honestly think he's
gonna he's gonna play it next just because Luca went
out and got him. I think he's going to be
in the starting.

Speaker 1 (01:31:23):
Well, I'm going to tell you somebody to look out
for a Nestar on lineup as well. I think l
Rabia has a chance. Don't forget about him. I think
if they go Luca and Marcus mart because I think
that makes sense defensively, Austin, Reeves and Rui could come
off to Ben.

Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
Think about here, Wow, And if you're onto something of
this Lebron and Ruey kind of not working well on
the court together.

Speaker 6 (01:31:46):
It's it's not that it's just their skills overlap so
much that it's almost like it's like you don't need
both of them on the floor.

Speaker 1 (01:31:53):
Well, the thing about Rui is he's a scorer. He
doesn't do anything else well exactly, that's the part about
his in that.

Speaker 2 (01:32:00):
Seriously, and because you I see him and I want
you to be better defensively, that's not who he is,
and like, all are you, bro? Like I need you
to play defense?

Speaker 1 (01:32:10):
He's like six eight, Yeah he's he could be very good.

Speaker 2 (01:32:15):
I he is.

Speaker 3 (01:32:18):
I'm looking up. He's six eight, Yeah, same size as Lebron.

Speaker 2 (01:32:22):
You should be a more presence when it comes to
the defensive end of the ball, and you're not. And
that's what I mean where it's like I see you, Yeah,
you hit a couple of threes and it's exciting, But then.

Speaker 3 (01:32:31):
Where's the effort on the other end?

Speaker 2 (01:32:33):
When you are a six eight I can only what's
your wingspan?

Speaker 3 (01:32:37):
Probably seven ft at that pro more than that. So
it feels like on defense, it feels like he's six
to one.

Speaker 1 (01:32:45):
Yeah, No he's not. He doesn't do anything on that side. Well,
he doesn't really doesn't rebound. No, he's a scorer.

Speaker 3 (01:32:51):
He is a scorer. And you're right, I mean, when
you have all these scorers.

Speaker 6 (01:32:54):
It's not gonna yeah great pickup.

Speaker 2 (01:32:58):
Absolutely, Also Ruy comes off the bench. Then that's if
we're if we're setting this up, like if I'm in charge,
you're coming.

Speaker 1 (01:33:07):
Off, And I really think it's between Reeves and Larrabia who's.

Speaker 6 (01:33:10):
Yeah, but at that point, if you have the better
defense with Marcus, don't you want Marcus with Ruey, So
then Reeves is with the bench.

Speaker 1 (01:33:17):
So then the bench isn't that bad.

Speaker 2 (01:33:18):
But I think Reeves also would benefit coming off the
bench because he can.

Speaker 1 (01:33:23):
Just really would be a starter. No, I think we're
gonna put Luca Smart. We're putting Smart, Larrabia Lebron And
I like that too, honestly, I like that. We'll see
what happens. I'm excited to.

Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
This, you guys for a hot second, for like, I
forgot a lot and yeah, completely forgot.

Speaker 4 (01:33:47):
About You're bye, good bye you got Now you're getting.

Speaker 3 (01:33:54):
Completely forgot about DeAndre Ayton.

Speaker 2 (01:33:56):
Well wait, because there's gonna be a whole toxic environment
with that guy comes six months.

Speaker 1 (01:34:02):
You guys, that's what I want to say. Okay, I
don't want to hear this anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:34:06):
All right? For the Lakers, picking up Marcus Smart, apparently
Bradley Beal is a no brainer. Also for the Clippers,
Mark Stein told me why am I tripping? As a
Clippers fan? Listen to the podcast in case you missed it,
But the big right now, best overall story of the
NBA off season Damian Lillard returning to his home of
the Portland Trailblazers. On the other side of this, Carrie,

(01:34:30):
I want you to tell me, and I want you
to be straight up with me and tell me if
I'm being hypocritical, straight up I know. So that's straight up.
Am I being hypocritical? We'll find out. Don't go anywhere.
It's Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:34:43):
Love this song.

Speaker 2 (01:34:44):
Mary.

Speaker 3 (01:34:46):
What's up? Everybody?

Speaker 2 (01:34:47):
Happy Sunday?

Speaker 3 (01:34:48):
Thanks for tuning in.

Speaker 2 (01:34:49):
Congratulations Scottie Scheffler winning the Open. Congratulations to the Milwaukee Brewers. Chris,
why am I thanking the Milwaukee Brewers? Let's go to
our update desk. Chris Perfat, who was on the ones
and twos, give us an update. What's going on.

Speaker 1 (01:35:05):
The Brewers swept the Dodgers six to five.

Speaker 2 (01:35:07):
That's why I said, congrat the update.

Speaker 1 (01:35:10):
No, I'm kidding.

Speaker 7 (01:35:11):
It's the only important one to really get to MONSI.
It's the only one Nancy really cares about right now.
Everything else I'm about to say is just going to
be static noise to everyone. This one won't be to Carrie.
Aaron Judge tied Alex Rodriguez on the Yankees all time
home run list with his three hundred and fifty first
home run. Yankees dismissed the Braves four to two. Jay's
get their tenth straight win beating the Giants eight to six,

(01:35:32):
and XANDERD. Bogarts, I need to keep saying that name.
Xander Bogart's plural plural Bogarts, multiple Bogarts gets a Grand Slam.
Padres defeat the Nationals eight to one. And now to
the rest of the story. Defensive end George Karlofts can
enjoy himself a new payday in three seasons, twenty four
and a half sacks for the Kansas City Chiefs, and

(01:35:54):
he's being rewarded with a three year, eighty eight million
dollar extension to keep playing for Kansas City. More fallout
from the NFLPA scandals of collusion and apparently billing strip
hour strip club hours to the company Dime. As JC
Tretder announced on Sunday, he is resigning chief strategy officer

(01:36:14):
and former president. Was a candidate to succeed former executive
director Lloyd Howell Junior. Instead, he is being taken down
in this scandal as well. And yes, Scottie Schanfler wins.
Scottie Wow, Scotty Scheffler wins. You can tell how many
hours I've been working here? When's the Open Championship? He
didn't hit above par on round three, kept the lead

(01:36:35):
throughout the entire final round. It's his first win at
the Open, his fourth major win. And now all that
remains between that him and a Grand Slam is the
US Open Live going on right now. One more baseball game,
and tell you scoreless between the Rangers and the Tigers.

Speaker 1 (01:36:52):
I'm gonna go home and watch this.

Speaker 7 (01:36:53):
One and probably, like Monse, live and die with this
dumb baseball team. And I'm calling them with bow the
July Suckies. Both the Dodgers and the Tigers' best records
in their respective leagues.

Speaker 1 (01:37:07):
And they are on massive slumps.

Speaker 3 (01:37:09):
How have you not won? Are you really?

Speaker 15 (01:37:12):
Like?

Speaker 2 (01:37:12):
Are you on a losing streak?

Speaker 7 (01:37:13):
The Tigers, I think it's something like eight of their
I don't remember. I think it's it's not as bad
as the Dodgers one, but I think it's like six
of the uh six of the last whatever.

Speaker 1 (01:37:24):
Cool.

Speaker 2 (01:37:25):
Yeah, well, let's have a drink for our misery, Chris.

Speaker 7 (01:37:29):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, we can always drown it there exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:37:34):
Not together but separate. Oh you never know.

Speaker 2 (01:37:37):
Thanks Chris, We appreciate you. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Oh, Carrie,
Lawyers suck.

Speaker 1 (01:37:43):
What's going on?

Speaker 3 (01:37:44):
Oyer's they suck?

Speaker 1 (01:37:44):
Yeah? The Yankees want today guys.

Speaker 2 (01:37:46):
Yeah, thank you for that. And Anthony Wilby is like
picking it up. Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, it's like you
heard me last week.

Speaker 3 (01:37:51):
Yeah, okay, Carrie.

Speaker 2 (01:37:53):
So I have came.

Speaker 3 (01:37:54):
I think I'm coming to this realization that.

Speaker 2 (01:37:56):
I am a hypocrite. Hurt realization, I know, no, and
even realizing it, I think I'm just gonna stay at hypocrit.

Speaker 3 (01:38:07):
I can't help my feelings.

Speaker 2 (01:38:09):
But let me tell you why why I think I
realized that I'm a hypocrite. All right, you know, probably
when you saw the quarterback rankings and in the quarterback
rankings the top ten, but we didn't even talk about that.
I know you dove into it earlier in the week,
and so did I. But Baker Mayfield coming in right
at number ten. Baker Mayfield a controversial college player, right, A.

Speaker 3 (01:38:30):
Lot of people didn't like him.

Speaker 2 (01:38:32):
I didn't know about his controversy when it came to
his college play and him what he did putting exactly
the flag. You know, learned about that after the fact. Obviously,
he goes to the Browns in Cleveland and does not
have a great reputation.

Speaker 3 (01:38:47):
Some people really don't like him.

Speaker 2 (01:38:49):
He gets dragged through the mud a lot in those years,
then gets.

Speaker 3 (01:38:53):
Traded, moves around a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:38:55):
But now the sentiment right with Baker Mayfield, at least
for me and I feel like a lot of people,
it's like, man, he's growing up, growing up right before
our eyes, giving Tampa a.

Speaker 3 (01:39:05):
Legitimate chance after Tom Brady. Like I'm rooting for Baker Mayfield.

Speaker 2 (01:39:10):
I am all for it. Go Baker. A lot of
people are right, But like that whole that whole story
of like it didn't start like this.

Speaker 3 (01:39:19):
People weren't rooting for you.

Speaker 2 (01:39:21):
You were controversial a little bit at the beginning. And
now here you are growing up and everybody's.

Speaker 3 (01:39:25):
Like, oh, Baker Mayfield, yes, all right.

Speaker 2 (01:39:28):
And then there's this guy by the name of Manny Machado.
Manny Machado played for a hot second for the Dodgers.
He didn't want to be there, guys, but he did
played a hot second, decides to leave the Dodgers and
sign with the Padres. And at the time the Padres
were not our rivals the way they are now. I

(01:39:50):
would say the Padres are one hundred percent one of
our rivals right now that we do not like. Right,
they beat us like two three years ago in the postseason.
We beat them last year, right, that stuff. When Machado
was a Dodger, I just couldn't stand his attitude. He
was there for half a season, but I will never
forget when he hit a ground ball into the infield

(01:40:11):
and did not run out to first base, and then
they asked him about it after and he was like.

Speaker 3 (01:40:17):
I don't hustle, I don't do that.

Speaker 1 (01:40:18):
And I was like, I hate this guy.

Speaker 3 (01:40:22):
I hate this guy. This guy's also really good, right,
man of Machado is really good, And.

Speaker 2 (01:40:28):
I think he's growing up, Carrie, because of what he
recently said this past All Star Break, All Star Break,
he had some things to say about Kershaw.

Speaker 15 (01:40:38):
He was the best man. It was an honor to
play behind him, watch him grow. This first time I was,
you know, I was in Baltimore, so I really didn't
see many you know, National League games, so went over
there so I finally got to see him in person. Man,
what a competitor, what a you know. I mean, he's
a Hall of Fame for sure. So I was an
honor to play behind him. Great to see us three

(01:40:59):
dollar the k the other day on his cutter, not
her way, but man, he just due at his age,
but he's still doing I mean, it's it's it's impressive.

Speaker 2 (01:41:10):
Yeah, yeah, Mansy growing up, a great guy.

Speaker 3 (01:41:17):
In the clubhouse apparently now in San Diego.

Speaker 1 (01:41:20):
Leader, leader, all of that, all of the things. You
know what that means.

Speaker 2 (01:41:23):
And I can't a good stand you still can't stand him.
A hypocrite, yes, rooting for Baker Mayfield.

Speaker 3 (01:41:33):
He's grown up.

Speaker 1 (01:41:34):
Yes, you are a hypocrite right now, even growing up.
And I'm like, yeah, you're a hypocrite.

Speaker 3 (01:41:39):
Take Clayton kershaway, But.

Speaker 1 (01:41:41):
What if what if she just seize through it? Like
what if?

Speaker 10 (01:41:44):
What is this?

Speaker 1 (01:41:44):
MANSI just you feel like you can't because you just
you don't.

Speaker 3 (01:41:47):
It hasn't convinced you yet.

Speaker 2 (01:41:49):
No, I don't care.

Speaker 1 (01:41:50):
He doesn't care.

Speaker 3 (01:41:51):
Okay, I don't care.

Speaker 2 (01:41:54):
I just like hearing all of those beautiful words that
he said about Clayton Kershaw, which four years ago, five
years ago, I would have been like, Manny will never
see something nice about Clinkers are the Dodgers?

Speaker 3 (01:42:05):
Yeah, and now here he.

Speaker 1 (01:42:07):
Is, So you know what happens here, Monsey? Tell me
even yes you are a hypocrite, yes, But what I'm
gonna say is, and this is for everybody who's maybe
listening or you know, everybody on social media and all
these things. Right, people stop jumping the gun on people
and making these proclamations about people. When they're kids, kids

(01:42:28):
like you're going through this. They're going through adulthood in
the public eye. They're gonna make mistakes. They're not gonna
do everything the way that you may want them to
or other people may want them to do. It's it's
about growing up, and it's about having compassion and empathy. Moncey,
Like you just said, with Baker. With Baker, he was
a kid and he was doing kid things, planting the flag,

(01:42:49):
seeming a little cocky or whatever the case may be.
And now he's matured, he's got a family, he's got kids.
These people go through these things in real time with you,
and it's hard and it's hard going to make mistakes.
So I give them the benefit of the doubt. Stop
being so angry towards people and their mistakes. And that's
what I would say. And you're still a hypocrite, by
the way, spoken, you know what I mean status Thank

(01:43:14):
you Mary, Yes.

Speaker 3 (01:43:16):
But I know I hear myself.

Speaker 2 (01:43:18):
And I came to this revelation of how much of
a hypocrite I am during the All Star Game when
I was with my friend Grace and Manny Machado came
up and I was like, girl, he just said the
nicest thing about Clay Kershaw.

Speaker 3 (01:43:29):
I'm so mad And she's like why, and I was like,
I don't know, I am.

Speaker 2 (01:43:34):
And then I got Baker Mayfield and I went through
this whole thought process of that, because again, Manny Machatda
was cocky too.

Speaker 3 (01:43:41):
That guy will throw you out while blowing a bubble of.

Speaker 2 (01:43:44):
Gum he's gonna throw you out, yes, super cocky, and
I just couldn't.

Speaker 3 (01:43:48):
But he's done all the right things since you're writing.

Speaker 2 (01:43:52):
In San Diego and he's still doing them, yes, and
I'm over here annoyed, and see and I'm over here annoyed.

Speaker 1 (01:43:59):
And the thing about it is you probably you had
the right to be annoyed at that time. But again,
like making proclamations about them, or making that be the
entire story about someone's just not It's just not the
way to go.

Speaker 2 (01:44:11):
And obviously, like Baker, again, I had no reason to
dislike the kid because I had no ties to any
of that. But I do feel like if I were
to present these facts without the name of the player
to each person, you'd be like, why do you not
like one or the other? Like it's the same style
of trajectory, and it's like, I don't have a reason
aside from the fact that he was a Dodger and
they upset me for a hot second, and now here

(01:44:33):
he is being a better person, and I just can't.

Speaker 3 (01:44:35):
I can't, but maybe maybe I will mature.

Speaker 1 (01:44:38):
So you're gonna try to convince me about the artistle game.
I'm going to convince you about men.

Speaker 2 (01:44:42):
About God and get you on board.

Speaker 3 (01:44:44):
So annoying. It's so annoying.

Speaker 2 (01:44:48):
Carry this past week there was another story. We're gonna
shift gears here from baseball and football. Now, let's let's
go back to the NBA because there was a pretty big,
detailed story on Joel Embiid.

Speaker 4 (01:45:02):
Did you read it all?

Speaker 3 (01:45:04):
It was so long.

Speaker 2 (01:45:05):
It was so long, and I read it over the
course of four days. It was like watching Wolf of
Wall Street. It took me three days to watch that.
It took me four days to read this entire article
on Joel Embiid. But a couple of things that were
quite interesting from this article. He doesn't talk to James
Harden anymore because he thinks that he thinks that James
Harden thinks Joel Embiid had something to do with him

(01:45:28):
and the fallout that he had with the seventy six
ers and being traded. And in this Joel Embiid is
like he doesn't talk to me. He also makes it
seem like he really He's like, I didn't want to.
I hate being in this position because you think it's
me because of the player. I am here for the Sixers.
But he says that that doesn't talk to Harden anymore,
which I was like, Oh wow, his issues with the organization,

(01:45:51):
with the trust and the leaked meeting that they had
where Tyresse Maxi called him out for being late and
in this story by ESPN if you decide to go
read it, it's very long. They ask him, it's like,
is this player still on the team, and he's like, yes,
the player who leaked this story of a closed door
meeting where I was called out by tyres Maxy, the

(01:46:14):
guy I know who it is. That's messy.

Speaker 1 (01:46:18):
Yes it is. And the thing is with this team,
you know how like when you don't know the full
story and you start making guesses, takes, proclamations, all these
things based off of just what you feel when you
watched the Philadelphia seventy six ers throughout these pasts five

(01:46:39):
years whatever, having all the talent they've had and having
all the chances they've had right to break through. When
you hear stories like this, it makes you feel like, see,
that's why they couldn't get it done. It was nothing
about the play, it was nothing about the execution. It's
about chemistry and being held accountable when you're one player

(01:47:00):
isn't being held accountable. It's gonna be a problem. If
you can't coach that guy like other guys, it's gonna
be a problem. And I think that's the problem with
the Philadelphia seventy six ers. Embiid has to grow up
even saying he knows who this guy is and you know,
not saying he's not gonna talk to the organization or
trust him anything like that, like putting that out into

(01:47:21):
the ether. Is it's just the wrong precedent for your team,
like own own your have some accountability. You got called
out in the meeting for not being the meetings on
time and all the things. Like if you do that,
it shows the other guys that you're accountable and you
can be the leader that they want you to be.
They want you to be. If somebody's coming to you
and saying, especially Tyrese Maxley who has some cachet, saying look,

(01:47:43):
you got to be here on time, like own that,
and like say you're gonna do that, and you're gonna
be on time and you're gonna lead differently. Like those
things make me upset because that's it shows why they
aren't winning.

Speaker 2 (01:47:58):
So you hit on things like and then other parts,
I don't yea. So I agree with you. You're the
leader and you should lead by example and all of that.

Speaker 3 (01:48:07):
I totally agree.

Speaker 2 (01:48:08):
But I will say I have sympathy for Embiid that
I didn't have prior to reading this. It seems like
the organization, which I feel like this is not this
maybe happens more often than not, but they didn't seem
to take his injuries seriously when I feel like, if
you are if you think I'm your star, you gotta

(01:48:29):
believe me. And in the story, one of the things
that was mentioned that people really dove into was that
when he first landed there, the person overseeing his injury
was an intern. I feel like that happens more often
than not, right like interns are the first ones to see.
So people are like from the beginning, he wasn't being
cared for properly.

Speaker 3 (01:48:45):
I don't agree necessarily with that.

Speaker 2 (01:48:48):
But last year, there was a moment during a game
I was anchoring where I heard Lisa Salters interviewing Joelle Embiid,
and then he revealed that he needed another procedure in
his knee. Apparently the organize was surprised about that, but
Joela beats like, I've been telling you that my knee.

Speaker 3 (01:49:05):
Is not good.

Speaker 2 (01:49:06):
Part of the story Nicholas Patum Nicol Batum, who plays
for the for the Clippers now but was on the team.
There's a in the story that Batoom told the media
after one of the games that there he literally said,
I don't know how he's walking. Oh yeah, I see
his knee every day. I don't know how he's walking.
All of that gave me a little bit of sympathy

(01:49:29):
for embiiding his injuries that I didn't have before.

Speaker 1 (01:49:32):
No, I have sympathy for the injuries as well, So
I agree with that.

Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
Yes, I was. It just was split. It was like, yes,
you are the leader, Yeah, you should act like the leader.
And this whole I agree about the leaked thing. It's
like I know who it is that, Okay, you're that
was a little bit petty on your end, totally. But
I do now feel for Embiid and his time as

(01:49:55):
trust the process in Philly with how they may have
handled his injuries. If like, you're that surprised and he's
saying I've been telling you that Mimi is not good.

Speaker 1 (01:50:05):
Yeah, yeah, it's definitely negligence on their part. That's a
good word.

Speaker 3 (01:50:09):
That's a good word, that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:50:10):
I mean, we know that. And I think I'm not
even basing their failures or success off of injuries because
that's part of the game. You're right, I'm just talking
about him as an individual. I want him to be
able to be accountable with all of this. Like you're
talking about the injuries and you're setting to record straight
with that. That's fine, perfect, I love it. That's stuff
that we aren't pritty to. So I like it. The

(01:50:34):
pettiness about knowing the guy and not trusting the organization. Again, like,
that's kind of hard to set that president as the
leader of a team because if you're saying that publicly,
then you're just laying out the yellow brick roller for
the other guys to come on board and say the
same thing and follow that because it doesn't work for anybody.
And so I'm just saying that from a team perspective totally.

(01:50:56):
It's just it's a messy situation.

Speaker 3 (01:50:58):
It does seem it sucks right all around. MESSI not one,
not two. And this again very long article.

Speaker 2 (01:51:05):
If you want to dive into it, you can dive
into the details, but those are kind of what stood
out to me, and I did. I do have a
little bit of sympathy now after reading that, even though
you hit it all all, you're right, you are the star,
you are the leader, and like this kind of comes
with it. But I feel maybe the sympathy comes just
because I have sometimes been like Joel Embiid is always

(01:51:26):
heard or Joel Embiid is. I feel like lazy was
a term to describe him also, right like when in
reality it's like I wonder if like it has just
been negligence over the years and we are finding out
about this right now in real time.

Speaker 1 (01:51:38):
Yea.

Speaker 2 (01:51:39):
And that's the fact that somebody said, how I don't
know how he's walking. I'm sorry, he just played a
game and you're wondering, how is he walking? How bad
was that?

Speaker 7 (01:51:47):
Me?

Speaker 1 (01:51:47):
It was bad, you can tell was bad, But we
didn't know the specifics.

Speaker 2 (01:51:52):
But we didn't know the specifics, and all we do
is jump to conclusions, as we from Manny Machada to
a baker to Joel Embiid, jumping to conclusion, making proclamations,
making proclamations that we should not be doing.

Speaker 6 (01:52:09):
Uh uh.

Speaker 2 (01:52:10):
And I know I asked Mark Stein this, but He's like,
there's no way that the Sixers trade Embiid.

Speaker 1 (01:52:15):
There's no way though, And he's right.

Speaker 3 (01:52:17):
You think so, I just this seems messy.

Speaker 1 (01:52:19):
I agree, and I said the same thing. I feel
what you're saying, but you can't. His contract is too
expensive with his injury history. So what team is going
to make a come out and make a bitch for that?
That's what he I think, that's what he's saying more
than anything, like, what what team is going to come
out and offer what mbo?

Speaker 6 (01:52:38):
If he's worth way too much, He's just worth way
too much for his downside. He has a lot of upside,
but the only team that could get that upside is
the Sixers.

Speaker 1 (01:52:46):
That's it, and that's it. There's no one else. It's over.

Speaker 3 (01:52:49):
This just seems poor guy.

Speaker 1 (01:52:51):
Adam was literally saying in the when he cheated on
you guys.

Speaker 3 (01:52:55):
Us damp fire and damn cheat us without aim.

Speaker 6 (01:52:58):
He was saying that he's considered one of the best
play he could be the best player in the league
when he's healthy. And it's sad because it's like you've
got to wait for this guy, and it's like there's
no one else. I can't wait for him, and at
this point it's just the sixers and there's nothing else
you could do about it.

Speaker 1 (01:53:10):
He won the MVP exactly three years ago, two years ago, whatever, Yes, no.

Speaker 3 (01:53:14):
He just won it, like yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 2 (01:53:16):
It just seems so messy, and I just ended up
feeling a little bit bad for him reading all of that.

Speaker 1 (01:53:22):
I'm glad you felt bad for him, because now you
can feel bad for I never.

Speaker 2 (01:53:26):
Want to feel bad for Manny, but shadow never do
you hear that? Never?

Speaker 3 (01:53:31):
All right, I guess we're almost wrapping up here.

Speaker 2 (01:53:34):
On the other side, we finished things off with a
little Carrie on or off. Don't go anywhere. He's Gary,
I'm Monzi. It's Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:53:43):
A little dream.

Speaker 2 (01:53:44):
Huh Hey, what's up?

Speaker 3 (01:53:46):
Everybody?

Speaker 2 (01:53:47):
Happy Sunday? Fox Sports Radio coming to you live. He's
Carrie all Pro Safety.

Speaker 3 (01:53:54):
I'm Moncey hanging out with you.

Speaker 2 (01:53:55):
If you've been here all three hours, we appreciate you
so much. Thank you to Chris per Fat who was
on the Ones in twos and moved over to the
anchor desk. Thank you to Mary mac currently on the
Ones in twos giving us these sweet tunes. And thank
you to our awesome producer Shay, I'm gonna let you
say your last name.

Speaker 1 (01:54:14):
Mogan Guard. Gu's the best. That's what happens when you
give him the mic.

Speaker 2 (01:54:23):
The mic, say your last name again, Marian Gad.

Speaker 6 (01:54:27):
If you want to be like that person, or if
you want to be like all my teachers, moving Guard.

Speaker 3 (01:54:33):
Say how the teachers Mogan Guard, Mogan Guard.

Speaker 1 (01:54:35):
Well I can do that, that's easy.

Speaker 3 (01:54:36):
Ye, yeah, I couldn't do that.

Speaker 2 (01:54:37):
If you want to be right, Yeah, no I can't.

Speaker 3 (01:54:41):
I can't. It's such a good one.

Speaker 1 (01:54:43):
Maybe we should make me a business last name.

Speaker 3 (01:54:45):
Huh.

Speaker 1 (01:54:47):
Yes, my ancestors are screaming.

Speaker 2 (01:54:53):
We do have a segment, a fun segment, Yes, Carrie,
that's right.

Speaker 1 (01:55:05):
I was hoping you're gonna talk it like in front
of it. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:55:08):
We almost sinked it.

Speaker 3 (01:55:09):
Well, it really almost did. We'll get it it almost SYNCD. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:55:13):
So we wrap up today's show with a little carry
on or off where I ask the all pro safety
if he's on board with certain things. All right, Carrie, Carrie,
I mean this, Yeah, let's carry on or off. The
NFL PA has definitely been involved in some collusion.

Speaker 1 (01:55:37):
On carry carry on. I'm on, I'm on board the
NFL PA has always been in collusion. They talk about
everything right, like they talk about every contract, they talk
about plans moving forward, and it seems like they're on
board with a lot more things as well that they
do together in behind closed doors. So it's not a
surprise to us players. We it's hard to find you

(01:56:00):
find some real people that are for the players because
when it's associated to the NFL, let's be frank, it's
about the NFL. So that's what it kind of boils
down to.

Speaker 2 (01:56:10):
Quick follow up, Is there anything the players can do
right now?

Speaker 1 (01:56:13):
No, just strap in and hold on and make as money.
It makes as much money as you can.

Speaker 3 (01:56:17):
Wow, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:56:19):
It's crazy, especially how you just said it that you've
kind of always known, but now it's.

Speaker 1 (01:56:23):
Just out there. The cat's out the back, the cat
is out the bag.

Speaker 3 (01:56:26):
All right, let's move on here, Carrie on or off the.

Speaker 2 (01:56:30):
Idea that hitting a baseball is the hardest thing in sports.

Speaker 1 (01:56:35):
Whoo, I'm gonna be on board with that, Okay. I
am the hand eye coordination the I think that's the
biggest thing, like throwing somebody throwing the ball at you
one hundred miles power and then throwing a sick change up.
That's eighty nine miles power. But it looks the same

(01:56:59):
and the same delivery.

Speaker 10 (01:57:00):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:57:01):
It just seems like it's the hard one of the
hardest things to do, and it may be the hardest
thing to do.

Speaker 2 (01:57:06):
And this has always been a topic of conversation, right
it comes up with Mookie Bets again on the All
Smoke podcast, was on that and they were talking about that,
and he's like, yeah, he does think it's the hardest thing,
and coming from a baseball player, like, oh, but I
do think it is the hardest thing to do in sports,
is hit a baseball. It's it's ridiculous, Yeah, like a

(01:57:26):
Major League baseball, not like I'm throwing to you, Carrie,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (01:57:30):
And just think about it, like you make the Hall
of Fame for being three out of ten right of
hitting the baseball. That's that's excellent.

Speaker 4 (01:57:39):
We hope you think about how hard that it must be.

Speaker 3 (01:57:43):
Right that it's like if you're two out of ten,
you're still kind of like.

Speaker 2 (01:57:46):
All right, we'll take you.

Speaker 1 (01:57:48):
That's crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:57:49):
It is crazy. Z. I'm glad you said that.

Speaker 2 (01:57:52):
I just you know, you are an athlete basketball and
football and so for you to say that it goes
and just showing to perspective how difficult.

Speaker 3 (01:58:00):
Really, it's hard, It's it's crazy. Okay, Carrie, are you
on or off?

Speaker 2 (01:58:04):
Justin Herbert wearing UV protection contact lenses.

Speaker 1 (01:58:11):
I really don't know what that means I do, but
I would say I'm on board for that.

Speaker 2 (01:58:18):
Joe Sport.

Speaker 1 (01:58:19):
Yeah, And I'm just gonna say because of if he
hasn't been wearing him for these first couple of years,
only whearing the contact can only help his game, right,
And so if it's gonna help his game and he's
going to see better during the day and be able
to make more completions, I'm all for that instead of
wearing the shield which probably gets in the way.

Speaker 3 (01:58:36):
Correct. So yeah, yeah, So he's gonna check with the league.

Speaker 2 (01:58:40):
This is a brand new story, thanks to our producer
Shave for finding it. But he's gonna ask the league
if it's okay. But that's what he said that the
tint advisory, he constantly had to wipe it, and with this, he.

Speaker 3 (01:58:51):
Said he didn't have to squint nearly as much.

Speaker 1 (01:58:55):
I figured that's what it was. That's where it was going.

Speaker 2 (01:58:57):
Amazing, amazing, Okay, quickly or carry? Are you on or off?

Speaker 3 (01:59:01):
The more fries, the more French fries, the better.

Speaker 1 (01:59:03):
Oh, I'm definitely on that.

Speaker 2 (01:59:05):
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 1 (01:59:06):
The more fr it's the better. I need my bag
over flowing, you know. So that's part of the deal.

Speaker 2 (01:59:12):
McDonald's has launched a double X shareable version of their
fries called fans Fries. In Malaysia.

Speaker 3 (01:59:18):
It's like this big. It's like two largest together for
you to be able to share. I wouldn't share.

Speaker 1 (01:59:23):
I would get my it's in Malaysia. It's in the US.

Speaker 3 (01:59:26):
It's not in the US.

Speaker 6 (01:59:27):
It's funny everyone else makes fun of us for having
the big size. And now come on, let's go one
for America.

Speaker 2 (01:59:34):
One for America.

Speaker 3 (01:59:35):
You know it's gonna come good.

Speaker 4 (01:59:36):
Point way, we.

Speaker 1 (01:59:37):
Don't get those.

Speaker 3 (01:59:39):
To bring the basket fries, not anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:59:42):
I have McDonald's Doug anyway. It's Fox Sports Sunday
