If you don't like any of Lvar's picks, tweeted him
right now at LeVar Arrington. Before I get into the
show and we start discussing these topics, I want to
(01:39):
talk about something really quick close to myself and Plexico.
This week lost a teammate, Rudy Johnson. Unfortunate we got
drafted together, Plexico grew up with him in the Virginia area.
Really really really unfortunate, man route when it happened, I
(02:00):
was shocked. Rudy was always laughing, always smiling. I don't
think I've ever seen Rudy get mad one time. Always
cracking jokes. We're in a group text plex Every message
Rudy sends a joke. He just wanted to crack jokes.
And so to see what happened to him, to know
(02:21):
what he was going through, Prayers to his family, his children.
It just sucks. And I want to say this, anybody
that's listening to this that's a current player, former player,
if you're going through anything and you know me, text me,
call me, dm me. Please please do not do this
(02:45):
by yourself. Please text call me. And if you don't
know me, you get to give me. When it's something
like this, I'm willing to reach out and help anybody
that I can. And so I just want to send
my condolencens to his families, my prayers to his families
and his family, his mother, his children, Rudy Johnson. Man,
we leve you. Boy. Uh, this type of these type
(03:07):
of situations, it sucks, man. But please please reach out
to somebody. Please.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Yeah, man, I'm home in Virginia right now. So man,
it's like you said, Man, knowing Rudy and the kind
of person that he was, he just never had a
bad day and always had a smile on his faces.
Like you're saying, Man, he used to pull up at
my house. Man, we were just sitting in the backyard
and barbecue and jumping the pool man and just just
(03:37):
living life. Man. You just have no idea you know
what somebody may be going through in their current state. So,
I mean it's hurtful. It hurts me. Everybody you know
that know him, And prayers and condolences to us, his
kids and his family and just a really you know, sad, unfortunate,
(03:59):
you know, or whatever he was going through.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
Man.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
That's why I say, Man, don't don't let your pride
get in the way of you know, being a man.
You know, if you need help, man, just reach out.
We may not be able to you know, solve or
help help you, you know, immediately or whatever whatever you're
going through, but we can put a team around whatever
(04:24):
you're going through as a person.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Man.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
And you know it was it's really unfortunate. Man, It's
been a sad week for me and everybody know him.
But man, prayers to my brother. Man. I love him
to death, and you know, just you know, for his family, Man,
stay strong and you know we'll we'll try to get
through the best of that we can.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Yeah. Man, it just really it blew my mind, Pleaux,
it really did. I could not believe it. I woke up,
I had all these text messages and it's obviously school days,
so I'm getting up at seven am, and I'm like,
what's going on? And I couldn't believe it. But I'm
gonna tell a quick story of Rudy. Man. I'm not
(05:06):
gonna say the name of the guy. So Rudy comes
in in the facility. It's a Tuesday, you know, that's
our day off, and he has Louis Vaton luggage. So
the Bengals were working out a player that day. Rudy
come out his luggage gone. And Rudy thinks somebody playing
(05:27):
the game on you. Man. He like, hey, dog, tell
my luggage. Put my luggage back. They look on like
nobody is probably like fifteen of us in there, and uh,
we like, Rudy, I don't know where your luggage. A
long story short. They look on the camera. The god
that they worked out, and if I said his name,
everybody would know him. The god that they worked out
(05:51):
took his luggage. They got it on camera for the
NFL locker room. From our locker room. The Bengals were
working him out, yes, and he was a running back
with his clothes everything still in it. I'm assuming. And
so when Rudy saw it, Rudy got his number. He
(06:13):
was like, hey dog, I ain't gonna fight you. I
ain't gonna do nothing. Just bring my damn luggage back, boy,
bring I ain't gonna I ain't got no problem with you.
And Buddy was at the hotel. They went and got
the luggage and brought it back to Rudy. Rudy just laughing.
You know how many guys would have been mad about that?
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Oh what?
Speaker 3 (06:34):
You know how many guys would have been ready to
go over there and forcefully take their luggage. Rudy just
laughed it off. That's my god, man, that's who he was.
Just always laughing, always joking, never a bad thing to
say about anybody ever. I just never seen any act
like that. He was just always a positive dude. So Rudy, Man,
(06:57):
we love you. Rest in peace. Man. Now we're gonna
get to the show. Now, we'll get to the show.
A lot of college football big game today. We got
a Penn State Oregon, you got lsu O Miss, you
got Alabama Georgia. But it was a game last night
to Florida State. Florida State had a terrible season last
(07:20):
year and then they bounced back opening weekend. It was
like whoa Florida State back? They look good and they
go down fourteen zero to Virginia. They rally back and
they lose in double overtime. But I'm gonna say this now,
my trip in Plexer was did you watch did you
(07:41):
see the catch that they called a catch, but then
not a catch. Yeah, at the end, I thought that
was a deuce trip position number one should have called
it clean. He had a great game, But me personally,
I thought that was a catch for a touchdown. I
thought he gained control. Yeah, you and everybody else. So
they lose a game obviously, double overtime to Virginia. Bro,
(08:07):
I've never never seen fans storm the field that fast,
that crazy.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
See, this is where I got to take you back.
You probably you probably don't remember this or it's almost
like thirty years to the day. Back in nineteen ninety five,
when Florida State came to Virginia, they came to Charlottesville.
(08:34):
They were number one in the country. Walk down, Bobby
b Anthony Point Dexter, Yeah, James Ferrier, Tiki and Rondez
Ball playing on the same team, and they upset Florida
State on I believe it was like Thursday night. Everybody
(08:55):
in the state of Virginia was glued to this television
and Florida and Virginia was able to pull out that victory.
With Warwick done diving to the one yard line, it
was like his helmet crossed the goal line, but the
ball did not and it was a goal line stance
and it was nineteen ninety five minutes, like thirty years
(09:18):
almost to the day. So, man, whenever the Virginia or
Virginia Tech or whatever can beat a top tier you
know program, we have some great athletes in Virginia, tide
water the whole state of Virginia. But for them to
be able to pull out that victory last night against
(09:41):
Florida State, it takes me back to that when I
was sixteen or seventeen years old.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
Man.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
So it was a great f about them, a great
football game being able to pull that game out. But yeah,
you know, listen, two years to go full to State
was twelve and zero. They won two games last year,
so they've already won more games than they did the
previous season. And it's just a great win for the
(10:10):
whole state. Good, good for recruiters. But man, shout out
to the Wahoo's man, the Cavaliers up there in Charlottesville
being able to go out there and get it done
against a very good Florida State football team.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Yeah, it was a well played for I mean, Virginia
ran the ball almost fifty times. They were trying to
keep Florida State's offense off the field. But to me,
Florida State, the way that they rebounded from last season
to this season is a shock and a complete turnaround.
(10:48):
So that kudos to their coaches, the players, that coaching
staff in that locker room to play as bad as
they played last year and come out this year. But
that's a victory that to me slipped away. And I'm
gonna say that that was a catch. But now you
still got to convert a two point conversion and send
(11:09):
it to a third overtime. No saying they would have
been able to do that. I don't know how you
call that incomplete. But when you're ranked in the top
five and you're playing a team that's unranked, honestly, should
the game be that close. So the coaching staff or
the Virginia Cavaliers did a hell of a job. Chandler
(11:30):
Morris that the quarterback made enough plays that pick just
before to send it in overtime when they were driving
getting someone on the fringe field goal range. I thought
the Florida State player made a great play. But I
thought yesterday and last night it was just a great
way to lead into this weekend because I forgot another
(11:52):
game USC is playing Illinois, and Illinois is coming off
of getting smoked by Indiana last week. And see who
many thought would have a bad season is undefeated. So
it's a lot of great football games on this afternoon,
this morning, and this evening, and so I look forward
(12:13):
to that. But again, we got a great show plan
for y'all. Don't know what's going on with Jerry Jones.
He like somebody that I'm broke up with his girlfriend,
and you break up with the girlfriend and you mad
at her like he keep taking shots and I feel
like he's throwing shade at Michael Parsons. Well we'll get
into that. Xavier' worthy. Hopefully he can bring some playmaking
(12:36):
back to the Chiefs. He's back in action now. So
we got a great show plan for y'all. We got

(16:19):
Just search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube and subscribe. Let's
get into this NFL man, Jerry Jones, Big big game.
I say, Jerry Jones like keep playing, but he is
the hundred of Dallas Cowboys, and the Dallas Cowboys will
be welcoming the Green Bay Packers in the Dallas tomorrow.
And for some reason, Jerry Jones, he keeps throwing. Do
(16:42):
we have sound on that. Maybe not. I don't think
it's hell like. He just keep they they play tomorrow night,
Sunday night football. He just all they better off without
Mike good. They had to stop the run, you do,
I just stop to run, but they can't seem to
(17:03):
get to the quarterback to stop the pass. I think
that's a little more important, But I digress. We do
have the sound, So let's listen to what Jerry had
to say, or what he keeps saying about mister Michael Parsons.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
Michael is special, and we all know he is, and
he can be disruptive, but we have huge amounts of
experience with the anecdotes that we've seen used on us
for the last four years. While he does make great plays,
(17:40):
there is also a way to approach playing against Michael,
as we know because exactly when the Super Bowl dre
in those years. The bottom line is, when I look
at playing him, I think of trying to have him
as an advantage when we were playing other team over
the last four years, and some plays it looks beautiful,
(18:04):
but then other plays, especially running plays, you can wish
you would have had a different formation.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Well what hey, well check this out, Jerry. So what
you're getting at is y'all can run the ball at Michael.
So that should be your game plan tomorrow. So let's
see if it's Michael a little he's a Levy, that's
the r game. So so yeah, if y'all gonna run
the ball that man? What what what do you think
(18:36):
about this man? An adotes?
Speaker 2 (18:39):
What is he referring to? Is he talking about Michael
on his team and getting doubled in triple team. That's
the only anecdote that I can think of that can
slow the market. Parsons don All I got to say
is this, don't poke.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
The bear man.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
That boy coming into Dallas some night and he going
to have a big ass chip on his shoulder when
that went when this football game start. So Jerry Jones.
If I was you, I would just be quiet and
let this football go football game going as it is,
(19:20):
because I know one thing that the Harrisburg bully that
I know Michael Parsons. When this game start on Sunday night,
you better have multiple personnel on him if you want
to try to slow him down. But I don't think
nothing's gonna slow him down in this game.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
And for Jerry Jones to.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Make these comments and these statements acting like Michael Parsons
is not one of the best football.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Players in the world, That's one of the things that
bothers me.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
You wanted them on your football team, Your drafted them,
and you want players to, uh, you know, help build
your organization, be a cornerstone of the organization, be a
franchise player. And Michael Parsons did that when while he
was in Dallas. And then when it comes times to
(20:13):
pay him, you don't you don't want to conversate the
young man.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
But now.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
He is not considered to be one of the best
players in the NFL through your eyes all of a sudden,
But now that he's on the other side, I just think, man, listen,
I'm not a Cowboys fan. I think everybody knows that.
(20:40):
But I think Michael Parsons is gonna take the field
on Sunday and he is going to absolutely destroy whoever
was in front of him one on one. If you
want to run the football at him, good luck. But
when you drop him back in that pocket and Dak
Prescott is back there and you and you single blocking him,
(21:02):
I think he's gonna have one of these three four
five sack evenings. And man, I'm gonna just enjoy this
game and eat my popcorn and I'm gonna laugh because
I think he's gonna have one of these historic performances
Sunday night.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
I really feel like Jerry and the Cowboys they want
to make sure Michael Parsons doesn't have an impact on
this game, and it may be to the detriment of
winning the game. I believe the Cowboy is gonna lose
by double digits, I really do, but they may want to.
(21:41):
They gonna try to limit Michael Parsons impact and double
team even slide tween Chicken. Yeah that's fine, but I
don't know if that's the best. If you block Michael
Parsons want on want on pass plays, it's gonna be
a problem that their old line is pretty good. City
Lamb's out, So now George Pickens isn't. That's it's gonna
(22:01):
be their number one. We know he can play, he
can get it done. But I just don't I don't understand.
You don't have to throw shade and throw dirt on
Michael Parson's name. Literally, Michael Parson is a great player.
I wish we could have kept em what he wanted.
We weren't willing to go that high. So it didn't work. Boom,
that's all you gotta say. That's what he should have said.
(22:23):
But Jones, that's all you gotta say. But it's worked
for him in years past. Did it with Zach Martin, Ope,
they came to a deal. Did it with CD Lamp
they came to a deal. Did it with Dak Prescott
they had a deal also two times. And he thought
it was gonna work with Micah. And I think after
(22:44):
Micah got hurt last year, had that high ankle spring,
it was like, nah, I can't take that chance. I
get no, I can't take that chance, take what's of
getting hurt again? And I want to do contract. And
so I just think with Jerry's to me there's no
reason to put Micah down. Micah is, at worse, the
(23:09):
third best pass rusher in the National Football League, and
many will say he's one or two. I think everybody
has Mile Garrett one and then you can go two
or three is either Parsons or TJ. Watt. And so
they are game wreckers. You got a game plan form.
You gotta double them, you gotta chip them, you gotta
know where they at every single pass play, and that
(23:30):
puts stress on your offensive line, like your line calls
and the things that you've game plan this week are
different than what you game plan last week. That's what
when you play these type of defensive players, these type
of pass rushers, your protection schemes change from last week
to this week. That's what people don't talk about, right, Okay, yeah, yeah,
(23:53):
when we call this now, this is what we're doing. Now.
You didn't do that last week, but you're doing that
this week. And so that's where football it's complicated because
certain guys can handle it and plex we know this,
and it's very rare on the offensive line, but it's
some dummies out there. Very rare on offense line. These
offensive line and these dudes is big but they smart.
(24:13):
But when you get that one dummy, he can't understand
the subtle changes to the game plan he done comprehend it.
Everybody else get it. So he may be the liability.
I'm not saying that the Cowboys had that, but there's
certain cases with that. But for the most part, offensive lineman.
Those dudes are smart players, and so when you play
a Michael Parsons, your whole protection scheme changes. He's a
(24:37):
great player. I believe he gonna he gonna have a
couple of sacks. All see. He gonna play with so
much energy and controlled violence that it's gonna be a
it's gonna be a game to watch. He gonna they
all saying the right things. Oh you know, we just
want to come in and get it. Went man, listen,
you're doing all this talking. I'm about to try to
(24:58):
embarrass them boys. And that's what Michael Parson wants to do,
absolutely no doubt about it. And if the Cowboys go
out of their way to slow him down, then Rashi,
Gary gonna get off, Lucas's gonna get off, everybody else
is gonna have a hell of a game. And so
to me, it's a win win, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
Man, listen, there's gonna be certain situations in this football
game where the Dallas Cowboys are gonna have to single
block him, and I believe those other opportunities for him
where he's gonna shine. And listen, he's been playing and
practicing against these guys for the last four seasons, so
he knows the tendencies up these officer line officer lineman,
(25:36):
whether whether you're the right tackle or the left to him,
he knows what beats you. But and on the flip
side of that, you can never simulate game speed. So
I'm pretty sure that he has been dominating these guys
in practice, but they've never had to play against a
(25:57):
game day Michael Parsons, especially in one of these situations.
And I can guarantee you tonight these guys are sitting
in this sitting in this meeting room saying, man, listen,
we cannot let Michael Parsons dominate this football game when
he is being single blocked. And if you the left
(26:17):
tackle or the right tackle, like you know, you got
your hands full because you know that you couldn't block
him when he was a teenager of yours.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
You couldn't block him in practice.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah, you couldn't block him in practice, and now it's
Sunday night football. Just like you said, he's going out
there with control violence.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Man.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
Good luck to the left tackle and the right tackle,
because I'm telling you tomorrow night, when they put him
in these situations, he is going to make play after
play and he's gonna find a way in single block
situations to dominate this football game.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
Yeah, it's gonna be I can't wait to watch this game.
I'm tuning in just a little subtleties. Uh, but we
gonna see. We're gonna see if Jerry can back up
or if his players can back up the words that Jerry.
We gonna see. But we gotta go see our man.
I got illo some updates? What you got for us,
Hi fellas.
Speaker 7 (27:12):
Let's get right to the college football scoreboard. Number sixteen
Georgia tech out to a three to nothing lead at
Wake Forest midway through the first quarter on a field
goal by Aiden Burr of the Yellow Jackets. Number twenty
three Illinois has just taken a seven to nothing lead
over number twenty one USC with five forty nine left
to play in the first quarter on a fifteen yard
(27:32):
touchdown run by Luke Altmeyer and number twenty two Notre
Dame has just gone ahead of Arkansas seven to three
with eight sixteen left in the first quarter on a
one yard touchdown run by Jeremiah Love Golf of the
Ryder Cup. Don't ask Europe man. They lead Team USA
eight and a half to three and a half and
(27:53):
Europe has won three of today's four matches thus far.
And in the NFL, New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields
has cleared concussion protocol and will start on Monday Night
football against the Miami Dolphins. Meanwhile, tomorrow it'll be the
Steelers against the Vikings at Dublin, Ireland, and today there
ATFL commissioner Roger Goodell told reporters that his goal is
(28:15):
for there to be sixteen international games per season, with
each team playing one. Now that potential sites for future
international games are Australia and Asia. And guys, let me
tell you something. If the NFL could make money playing
an international game on a glacier in Antarctica, they'd probably
(28:36):
do that too.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Back to you, guys, yeah, we'll see flex Xavier, you're worthy,
he's back, yep. Can he make a different? The Chiefs
offense man you got Andy Reed, you got Pat Mahomes,
you got Travis Kelce. They've been just the last three seasons,
they've just been getting worse, worse and worse. Exec' Worthy
(29:02):
has a good Super Bowl. Can he be the catalyst
that gets that offense and gets him back on track.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
I believe so. I mean, especially if you're looking at
the Baltimore defense. They are ranked currently ranked thirty first
in defense in points allowed, so I expect it's everywherever
to come back and make some plays. They're gonna have
a total package for him, just like they had open
(29:32):
the night and he had an unfortunate running with Travis
Kelsey with the whole shoulder thing. But if you're the
Baltimore Ravens and you're looking at this Kansas City offense,
they they've been kind of stagnant over the first month,
but I expect the Exavier Worthy to really just come
in there, take the top off of the defense, you
(29:53):
know how it go. I don't think he's one hundred
percent healthy, but I believe he's about, you know, eighty
five nine percent. But when you're uh defensively, you have
to respect to speed getting down the football off and
I think Kansas City is going to put him in
some situations to where you know, you know, some levels,
(30:14):
some drags, different different situations where they can open up
the coverage underneath, you know, letting him take the top
off defense. But I believe believe that he's also going
to make some big plays. So it couldn't come in
a better time for the Kansas City Chiefs because they
haven't looked, uh, you know that good offensively over the
(30:34):
past you know, three weeks. So you know, it's a
perfect time for him to come back. And I really
believe that he's going to add a spark, you know,
to the offense, even if he's not catching the football.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
Now, you know, they played the Baltimore Ravens. Who needs
this game? More like one of these team's gonna be
one in three after tomorrow, one of these teams will
be one in three after tour.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
And the fact that you say that one of these
teams going to be on three and yeah, one in
three after tomorrow, and these are two teams in the
AFC that we are already talking about going into the
going into the season, that these two teams are potential
(31:19):
contenders to win the Super Bowl. And you go down
one three in the first month of the season, and
I would say if anybody needs this game, I think
it's the Baltimore Ravens. I really do, because they need
to gain some confidence going forward. I think Lamar has
(31:40):
been good defensively. They They're given him a lot of points,
and you know, uncharacteristic things are happening with Derek Henby
fumbling the football with which we haven't really seen him
do over with his career. So I think for Baltimore,
(32:02):
they need this win more than Kansas City because Kansas
City has a championship pedigree, so they know that they
can win football games and they are going to get better.
Just they got Xavier Worthy back. Patrick Mahomes is going
to get better. And if I can't have a choice
(32:25):
going into the second part of the season and I
know I need a quarterback to win me football games,
I'm gonna take Patrick Mahomes. I don't Lamar's great, but
he's proven and he's already done it three times. So
I think later on down the stretch, if Kansas City
(32:46):
happens to lose this football game tomorrow, I don't really
think that they are going to panic because they know
that they can win football games simply because of the
fact that they have Patrick Mahomes at the quarterback.
Speaker 3 (33:01):
This's why I must I m slightly disagree with you.
The AFC North is not right now a great division
record wise. Why because Joe Burrow got hurt. That's part
of it. But the Bengals are toying one. Joe Burrow
(33:21):
isn't playing. The Steelers are tooing one. They have five
tone overs last week, or they forced five turnovers and
one by seven. The Steelers aren't very good. The Bengals
don't look to be very good without Joe Burrow. So
if the Ravens were to lose this game, I feel
like they could still win this division because the division
(33:43):
isn't as tough as we expected to be. Whereas you
look at the AFC West Chargers, they undefeated, the Broncos
have one loss, and so I don't know if the
Chiefs can afford to lose this game. They lose this game,
the Chargers win this game, they three games behind already
(34:03):
in their own division. And so for me, the Kansas
City Chiefs won. They need Xavier Worthy back because it's
that big threat down the field, but they need to
win this game. Just so they can stay in contention
for the division. We haven't seen the Chiefs not win
this division in nine years. When's the last time we
(34:24):
seen the Chiefs not have a first round by with
Pat Mahomes? And so last year they did not right,
and look what happened. They play, they played that extra
game and they got smoked. No, I don't believe that
they played the extra game.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
And they got smoked in the I'm still taking the
Kansas City Chiefs and win the FC West, No believe
it or not.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
I Chargers before the Chargers before the season started. I
picked up See that's what I'm saying. I love when
we can do this and we on the radio and stuff,
because I picked the Chargers to win the division before
the season started. Nobody talking about who you picked. What
I'm saying, taking the Chiefs to win the division? Come on, bro,
(35:10):
you don't believe that? Yes, I do? You really think
they can win this division?
Speaker 2 (35:13):
I'm going with Andy Reid and Steve Spacknolan in this defense.
When it comes crutching the trust time and they need
to win a football game, I'm going with the Kansas
City when the division.
Speaker 3 (35:26):
The Chiefs lose tomorrow they might not make the playoffs.
Bro man, come on, man, the Chiefs lose tomorrow, they
might not make the playoffs because that basket one with
the Broncos.
Speaker 2 (35:36):
I know that you hound justin Herbert and Harball being
the quarterback Whishborough. But when it comes down to the
meeting potatoes, I'm taking the Kansas City Chiefs to win
the AFC West. All right, all right, we get back

(38:10):
Oklahoma quarterback. Oklahoma's rolling, coming off of a huge victory,
and now he has a fractured hand. He's gonna miss
about a month. More than likely he gonna miss the
Red River. It's they call that the Red River Shootout.
Huh right with Oklahoma, Texas, I'm gonna call it the
Red River Shootout there at River Rivalry. I think it
(38:32):
is Red River rivalry. That game doesn't matter what the
records are. Always a great game, but both of them.
Probably we'll be undefeated. Now. We don't know how Oklahoma's
gonna fare without John Matier, but defensively, the way they've
been playing, that's gonna be a hell of a game.
(38:53):
Do you believe them losing Matier hurts their college football chances,
college football playoff chances?
Speaker 2 (39:01):
Yeah, I don't think it hurts the college football chances
because obviously during the division or conference that they can win.
But listen, uh, the way that John Matter has been
playing this season. Man, he's a Heisman Trophy candidate, and
you know we see key injuries you know, uh, not
to this level, but you know in all the sports
(39:23):
that that's going to hurt the team and he's going
to have to have surgery. I believe it's on his
throwing hand. So even if he comes back, he don't
do't think. I don't think he's going to be one
hundred percent healthy throughout the rest of the year. But uh,
they got theref to a four and oh start, but
(39:43):
they do have a bye week, uh next week, so
that may be you know, helpful for them moving forward.
But I just think that you know, anytime you lose
a quarterback, with a starting quarterback and he's playing as
well as he is, they're there, there is going to
be some drop off offensively as far as the consistency.
(40:04):
But I think even if they do get him back
in a month month and a half, we're already talking
about Thanksgiving and you know, going into December, but it
is going to hurt Oklahoma moving forward. But I do
believe he will be back. It's going to come down
to the back of quarterback play and if they can
(40:26):
go out and steal you know, two or three games
and the next month and a half and inserting him
back into the offense. But it is going to hurt
Oklahoma moving forward to get into the college football playoff.
Speaker 3 (40:39):
Yeah, I believe it's gonna hurt him. He was in
contention for the Heisman, starting to really get noticed and
maybe he could be a first round pick as a quarterback.
Anytime you lose your quarterback undefeated, he was playing the
way that he's playing, it's obviously going to be a
big blow. But when adversity hits, somebody gets an opportunity.
(41:04):
And so to me, the backup quarterback can now go
show the coaching staff, his teammates. I can do this.
I don't worry about I got y'all. And so that's
the beautiful thing about sports. Now, whether he does it
or he doesn't, he has an opportunity. But it's gonna
be a huge blow in my opinion, to the Oklahoma
(41:26):
Sooner's not to have their starting quarterback. And if he's
out the full month like they believe, and he misses
the Red River shootout, red River rivalry versus Texas and
arch Mannon isn't playing the best football. But the more experienced,
the more snaps, Arch is gonna get better and better
and better. I think people expect that Arch to come
(41:48):
out and just be a great player instantly. It takes time,
and in that time it will happen. They're losing that
game in Oklahoma of John MATERII isn't playing, They're gonna
lose that game. I don't feel like any team that's
a really strong team, and the Big Twelve is not
the strongest conference, right, But when you playing the Texas
(42:09):
and all them dudes, they out on defense, you don't
have your starting quarterback. You losing that game. It sucks
for Oklahoma. Now, if the backup, the coaching staff can
keep them and let's say he misses four games and
they go three and one. To me, that's a win.
That's a win. That's a win. You go three and
(42:30):
one with a backup quarterback in the game in college football,
that's a win. Now you're still alive for the college
football playoff. Now you can steal all the goals that
you set at the outset of the season. They're still there.
They're still right in front of you. Now you go
two and two, it gets you go one and three,
(42:50):
It's over.
Speaker 2 (42:51):
Hey, everybody wants to play. Listen, Michael Hawkins Junior. We
have no idea who you are as a quarterback, but
go out there and try to find a way to
manage the football game and go out and make some
plays and win some games. While my tears out, we
had to say when I was in the New York Giants,
(43:13):
you know everybody's a starter because you're one play away
from being a starter.
Speaker 3 (43:19):
Well, yeah, we gonna see what happened. We're gonna get
into the NFL. We come back. That's plexical, Baras, I'm
teacher Asenzada. Stay tuned in for the second hour up
on game Fox Sports Radio
