The nighttime music? Yeah, baby, I'm I'm doing five Lava
were getting on the mic all amped up, and then
TV want to come in with a very white voice. No, no, no,

(02:44):
I just need a little bit of red wine so
that you you don't chill with LaVar amped up. At
nine o'clock, Lavarre gonna take a nap. At twelve, We're
gonna take a nap. Wake up it too, take another
nap before o'clock. I'm like, what is this dude doing?
Taken all these laps and anybody that you know what
I'm talking about is true. The dude take fault five

(03:06):
naps today. I'm up. I saw t J working out
with even to the vacas in the house. I walked over.
I saw TJ working out with the young bucks. I
took a nap watching them work out. It wore me
out watching them workout, just watching man. All right, guys,

(03:29):
last night. Unfortunate happening. Um and and and during preseason
Zack Wilson, Uh seems to have you know, maybe had
I don't know, I don't I don't want to speculate
on it, but you know, it seemed like a pretty
bad deal, bad injury that took place. Um maybe they

(03:51):
said he may have avoided a serious injury. I don't know.
The M I R I are are just supposed to come.
Um but what what? What's your guys? Is takeaway? When
you you're in a situation, You're in a market, a
great market. You're possibly in a situation where you can
you know, make good on being a top draft pick

(04:12):
as the quarterback of the New York Jets and heading
into a very pivotal year. You're in a very pivotal moment.
You you get an injury that's probably gonna keep you
out of the entire preseason, possibly could go into the
regular season. A lot of people don't play there there
there regular guys in preseason anymore? Does this go down

(04:36):
the lane of further having conversations about why is there
a preseason? What does that look like? What what's your
guys take on this, and and and what's your prognosis
diagnosis for um, what what happens next with Zach Wilson.
So it said, I just was looking at it, said, uh,
he has a bomb bruise and a slight tear in

(04:57):
his meniscus miss about a month max. Two to four weeks.
When I when I saw it, I said, oh, this
don't look good. When you go down like that non contact,
A lot of times it's a lot more severe. Yeah,
and so he escaped. You need preseason games, you you

(05:17):
I believe you need them. You can't just not play
football for nine months and then September rows around and
we're gonna start playing. The question is how many games
do you need? Zach Wilson is a young quarterback. He
needs he needs these reps. But when when you got
I liked what Sean McVeigh and these younger coaches are doing.

(05:39):
My starters ain't playing in the preseason. I know what
they can do when when it's time to roll, they're
gonna be ready to roll. And so, but that's because
he has a veteran group. You can't do that with
when you're a young guy. If that happens, it just happens.
I mean, you gotta be out there playing for him.

(06:01):
He's lucky that he escaped a severe injury. But now
how is it going to affect him because he's probably
gonna miss at the first two games of the season,
probably gonna miss he who was the next guy, Michael
Mike White, Joe Flaccos in the house too? But who

(06:23):
you guys thinking that would would be? They did, didn't
They just come out and say Joe Flacco was to
be a starter. Somebody said they did say that Mike
White last year. Yeah, it was last year. He hit
the Bengals up a four hundred yards. He threw for
four hundred yards against the Bengals last year, And so
he had They got a quarterback who's one of Super

(06:46):
Bowl Joe Flacco. They got another quarterback that looks capable.
But Zack Wilson needs these rep It sucks for him.
He needs these reps. Yeah. Also, when I saw so,
I go then I thought it was a a c
O also, But when when you continue to see these
guys getting in the preseason, it just continues to remind
us that why the players hate the preseason. But when

(07:08):
you're young, you have to be able to go out
and get the repstion. He won't be able to do that,
you know, going into the season. That's why you know.
Ever since the Aaron Rodgers injury, the backup quarterback position
has been probably the most coveted position in all the
sports because when you have an Aaron Rodger to go
down or Patrick Mahomes, you have to be able to

(07:29):
go out and sustain to be able to win some
football games if you want to get into the playoffs,
and a guy like Joe Flacco. These backup quarterbacks are
basically just insurance policies if Zach Wilson or or the
starter does go down in the preseason or the regular season.
So I mean looking forward for him, uh No, he

(07:53):
wasn't playing well to to start. He threw up pick six.
I believe earlier the quarterback you've been how Zack Wilson,
I've been saying that to you have I have, but
out of the group, the back group. I think Desmond
Ridder has been looking the best so far based offer

(08:16):
that's been Ridder as a rookie. He worked with us too,
so I'm high on him as well. Right, But but yeah,
I hope he gets back in. I don't see how
you get a bone bruise when you got a non
contact injury. That doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe
they're giving an inaccurate report about what his injury is,
because you don't get a bone bruise with no content.

(08:37):
My thing is, how did you figure out it's a
bone bruise that quick? Like, don't you gotta have it?
Is no accurate. It's not the it's not the meniscus.
It's probably the PCL Hey it is you know what
I mean. It is twelve o'clock. You know he was
up bright and early eight am getting that m R

(08:57):
had some time. I can understand, like you're seeing a
hematoma or something like some blood build up or something.
How do you go bone bruise so quickly? New York.
They got the m R machine in the locker room
that can see the bone, but they're saying they need
to do another m R. I man, listen, I don't
believe it's a bone bruise. There's nothing about that injury

(09:18):
that tells me is a bone. So so the injury
could change. I believe it's going to trajectory changed through
this injury. Does it change his trajectory because today a
month I don't, That's what I'm saying. I do they
do they go with the quarterback that they put in there?
If it's Flacco, If it's do they go in there
and they go to and oh, they're coming right on

(09:39):
out when he's ready to go. Believe that, Yeah, if
they go, you gotta see what's money that the dignosis
for his injury is going to change. Is he compromised
if he has to miss a month's time if he
doesn't miss if he misses the rest of the precas,
nobody gonna trip out on that. But but the whole,

(10:00):
the whole deal to miss regular season games if they
get in there, if they get in there, and he's
such a good athlete that this will affect him because
of his athleticism, Like he's a really good athlete, man,
Like I don't think people realize that. But if he

(10:20):
can't no longer get out of the pocket, it makes
him pretty much one to mention. But let's let's talk
to me. We were acting like just got his leg
cut off or something. He young, he's gonna come back
from Yeah, no, no, I'm not. But I'm I'm talking
more so because he wasn't that good as a rookie.
I mean, I'm not talking jury is the time. I'm

(10:41):
not talking about. If he comes back and he's healthy,
I'm god bless. I hope he does come back healthy
and and he is young. I'm not I'm not focusing
in on the injury itself. I'm focusing in on the
collateral damage of it. If he is out for the
first couple of games of the season, and the New
York Jets not a team not always wins, but a

(11:02):
team that has struggled gets out to a fast start
in the season, that whoever the quarterback is, they're coming out.
I don't believe guarantee the guarantee the injury report garam Now,
I will say this, if he's not a dred percent,
they would probably keep the quarter But that at that point,

(11:23):
what is it. That would be about four and a
half weeks out if he missed the first two games.
They're saying it's two to four weeks. They don't. He's
a young quarterback. You need to see you and so
flac oh, Mike White, whoever it is, you go twin oh.
But if I'm if I'm coach Soli, I'm sitting there
and I'm like, if this veteran quarterback has led us

(11:43):
to a two and he going to he going to
the bench, He going to the bench. Zack Wilson is
your future would not if you're to find out. But
if you're a team that hasn't been successful and you're
having you don't mean you're gonna be successful, you just
want to. But you've started out with more two wins
than you probably generally started off with. I don't even

(12:03):
know who they play. They're not starting to win oh
point this year? And see like ya have been And
you guys said this a second ago, Well he didn't
play well last year. He didn't who was his starting receivers?
Can you don't go to the receiver next day, everything

(12:29):
will know it's every quarterback who didn't even name him,
though you couldn't matter. I can name Zack Wilson crash season,
an any ricky trash season. Wilson. How many ricky quarterbacks
outside of Burrow, Herbert played well in the last five

(12:50):
years that you can remember as a rookie. Lamar Jackson,
Lamar Jackson late later in the year. You can't. You
can't give me a second to think you can't Calamury
play well as a rook You can't. Yeah, all right,
and we just gave you on t J. Go look
at those teams and say, who are the white outs? Okay, hey, look,

(13:12):
look well up on the break. But wait, wait, wait, wait,
but who was the white outs for the Chargers? Oh?
He had Keenan Okay, who was the white up for Dropper?
Okay he had he had who's the white up for Calamari?
Oh yeah, they had Hopkins. Okay, now it's starting to
make sense. Huh. Yeah. They start the season off with
the Ravens el, the Browns hel, the Bengals el, the

(13:34):
Steelers possible hel they foreshow in three and then the Packers.
He said, I might be five. If I'm Zach Wilson,
I might not want to come back until they get
done with wait till they get done with green Baby
before they maybe Cleveland. They may, they may, it's possible,

(13:54):
but for show Owen one. Yeah, I do, man, I
don't know. Hey, listen, you're listening to the up again.
That's just move thounds of t JS on of Plexico, Berth,
j Crazy on the other side of the break, James Jackson.
He gonna get on somebody's head or something's head, gonna
get on the head. Pause anyway, I'm on your head break.

till yeah, yeah, he come on usually my jail right now.

(15:25):
That's how you know, that's how you know. We get
known nothing about this, hey, but we're gonna put you
up on some game, you know what I mean, Lavary Birds,
I see my man, the legendary Isaac Lowan Crown walking
and we'll get to him in moments. But right now, guys,

(15:46):
it's that time of the day when we bring in
the young schmoke, you know what I mean, bring that
smoke to you. It's I'm on your head with James Jackson.
Let's go. It's like I'm on your head with James
jack Dead. Come on, I like that. I like that.

(16:07):
Bring that smoke. That's what I gotta do. Man. We
all know what the name of the game at the
end of the day is to get paid, right, But
it's a harsh reality for some players when a team
tells you that you're just not worth that bang and
Kareem Hunter found out out the hard way this past week.
I'm on your head man. That's kind of bunny, because
Kareem did really do anything wrong. He just wasn't that

(16:30):
great for the brown His best season for him came
two years ago away rush for eight hundred forty one
yards and six TVs. But it's really just past here
that don't look good. Although we mixed some time from injury.
I'll give him that. He only turned in three under
eight six yards and five touchdown make him third on
the team and rushing behind Nick Chub and Darns Josh,

(16:51):
but still third on the team for a dude who
want the contract extension? Plus what's that man? Shake keep baby?
And kind to think of it. This the second time
this all season the Browns has turned down an initial
trade re question or player they don't even want anymore.
I mean, they got more rejections than the Kemp in
the post right now. And it's funny because Kareem not

(17:14):
supposed to get denied. But even still this Kareem looks
like he's gonna be on the hunt for a new
team after this season, and I wish the best for him.
But still I'm on your head. Uh you know what, James,
I gotta say, I kind of agree, Yeah, I kind
of agree. Like if I'm Kareem Hunt, I'm gonna play

(17:38):
like I'm gonna keep I'm gonna keep it cool. I'm
gonna ask for more reps, not for more money. Give
me some more reps, give me some more carries because
I need to get my weight up. We know you're
a dope football player, but we also know why you
weren't in Kansas City anymore. Right, so you get an
opportunity to come back after some some some egregious uh

(18:01):
stuff happened with you. I'm I'm gonna play myself back
into a contract. I'm not gonna I'm not going to
demand a contract. It almost came across to me fellas
as if he saw the handwriting on the wall with
the earnest. You ain't unseating. You're not Unseaten Shubb. He's
your workhorse, So are you? Are you asking for more

(18:22):
money because you're trying to force your way out of
of Cleveland. To me, that's what I think it was.
It's a play to try to force yourself out of
Cleveland because there may be another team out there that
could use your services more than the team that you're
currently on. Man, listen, he behind Nick Shubb. You think
that Cleveland Browns giving it? Like what kind of advice.

(18:44):
Do these dudes be getting bro You playing behind Nick Shubb,
You're not getting the new deal. Shaky baby in Cleveland
has actually been good for him because it's gonna get
of him longevity on his career. Like these these running
backs that are quote unquote bail count, they get the

(19:06):
majority of the carries. Man, you six seven years, you
out Kareem Hunt can be somewhat like a Mark Ingham.
You play twelve fourteen years early on your career, you
split time. But this is the problem. He had a
really good rookie season, really good. I don't believe he's
topped his rookie season and all the years since. And

(19:30):
so that's why when you have that type of success
out the gate, how do you take a backseat year two, three,
and four? You want that success now. So he wants
to go to a team where he The Cleveland Browns
in that sense, gave him a lifeline when what happened
in Kansas City. Play this year out like you said,
and move on, but you not. He ain't even gonna

(19:53):
get more carries with Nick Chup. It's a rat. Just
move on next year is a baller. I don't know
if y'all seen him play. He's a baller. He ain't
getting carries either unless Nick Chub come out. He was
getting carries when Nick Chubb went out, Yeah, and he
was My god. I think I think the Browns can

(20:13):
can see what Garren Johnson does and see what he
did last year, And you're right, Lavari's a baller. I
see if the Browns aren't committing to Kareem Hunt. I
see those carries, right, could be honest Johnson. And I'm
not missing a beat? Am I wrong? No, You're not wrong.
It just might be the first time I think that
we all three agree on something the first time. Let

(20:35):
me change my man. I would say that man Hunt
knows it's worth I mean, you can't. You can't fault
the man for acting for more money. But from a
you know, running back standpoint, it's like you said, he's
playing behind Nick Chubb. But also, if you're running back,
I don't think you're gonna go anywhere else and play

(20:57):
behind a better offensive line as a running back. And
I do believe that he is a starting running back,
but he just happens to be in Cleveland and he's
playing behind Nick Chubb. I think there a lot of
a lot of teams. Are few teams that he can
be the start and running back on and for him
to come up to come up the gate and ask
for a new contract as his exit strategy. I don't

(21:19):
believe that was the correct way to go about it,
but it could be who had I hate forces his
way outright, it could be. I mean, I think that
if that's what he's doing, that makes sense. Like if
I'm looking around the league like you said, I mean,
I'm looking out Carolina like, okay, they just got Baker.
I'm I'm, I'm, I'm you know, I'm obviously aware of
who he is. He is injury prone, and that could

(21:42):
be a possible scenario that plays out. There's other teams
where you sit there and you'd be like, you know,
the same thing in New York, same thing and there.
I mean, there are opportunities around the league where you'd say,
you know what, maybe Kareem Hunt doesn't come in as
the first option. I'll be good. God darn. You just
talked about in the first segment where the premium is

(22:04):
placed on starting backup quarterbacks. Well, I'll tell you what,
running backs. There's a premium on running backs that can
do it as well, if I can get you on
the list, if I can get you, if I get
a reasonable price, if I could get you out of reading.
But I say that reasonable, but that reasonable, the reasonable,

(22:29):
the reasonable price maybe more than the reasonable contract that
he's on right now because they got him out of
discount because of the situation he was coming. I'm just
I believe he's a thought also, So I mean he
could be a starter. I think he's that good. And
if you don't feel as though they're gonna just trade
you or let you get away, then why not put

(22:52):
the pressure on it by saying I need a new deal.
I mean, listen, in the day's game you need it's
a two back system. It's not like it was fifteen
twenty years ago, where you know, Jerome Bettis and and
Corey Dillon they were all three down backs. Nowadays, you
bring it back on third down and you know, uh,

(23:13):
put them into flats and and put put them in
one on one on one situation so they can make plays.
So the game has definitely changed, So you definitely need
to running backs. They can contribute to your offense. All right, well, James,
we appreciate you coming on. You can catch James j J.
Jackson on Straight Facts podcasts up on Game Presents Network,

(23:33):
the Feed. Make sure you check them out there on
Instagram as well. He's an up and coming talent. As
you can see he he does his thing, and I
gotta admit I do disagree with agreeing with y'all, but
for the first time, I guess this would be okay.
I appreciate you. J J. Will check out. Let's get
to my man. I lo for the trending What's happening legend,

(23:55):
Good morning, fellow legends. Great to talk about the NFL
being ac in preseason news and preseason games coming up
to in fact at the top of the hour. The
New York Post reported today the Jets quarterback Zach Wilson
gonna miss two to four weeks with a bone bruise
and meniscus tear. Wilson's gonna need to have a procedure
done on his meniscus, but it will need a trim

(24:16):
and not a full repair again, according to The New
York Post. He suffered the injury and last night's preseason
victory at Philadelphia. The Carolina Panthers announced that Baker Mayfield
will get the started quarterback in today's preseason opener at
Washington kick off at the top of the hour. The
Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Bears will kick off at
the top of the hour as well, from Soldier Field.
In college football, Notre Dame has just named sophomore at

(24:39):
Tyler Buckner as its starting quarterback. On Friday, Major League
Baseball suspended San Diego Padre star Fernando Tatis Jr. For
the rest of the season after he tested positive for
a band performance enhancing substance. Tatis Jr. Said he inadvertently
took a medication to treat ring worm that contained the

(25:01):
band substance, and on that uncomfortable note, let's go back
to you legends. Yeah, I mean you gotta get rid
of the ring worm, man, I mean at all costs,
like at all, I mean at all. How how many
millions are they casing? That's like the rest of the

(25:24):
season health as well, that's the rest of the season.
And in the next year, that's unfortunate, man, in the
next year. I mean, so the p D thing, right,
like DeAndre said it was in his in his shampoo.
This dude said it was in what he was taking
to get rid of the ring worm. Said it was

(25:46):
the Mexican cows. Yeah, they said they was making them strong. Um,
they was giving them them cows. Uh performance just excuse,
just say I made a mistake, and I just a mistake,
you know, make a mistake because they got caught, So
they look at this as a mistakes they got caught.
I'm just trying to understand, fellas, at what point in

(26:07):
time do it, like literally I can think of maybe
one or two dudes to build Romanowski that was able
to like just really really like beat the system. At
what point do you just say, look, man, I just
my talent has got to be my talent and I
just got to see what happens. I've always been this guy,

(26:28):
and I've always felt very strongly about athletes that used
the p d s too for better performance. It's always
struck me the wrong way. But being a guy that
you know, played on a natural just just vitamins and water.

(26:50):
I never put anything in my body two make you better,
form better illegally, and and it takes away from the game.
For for the guys that wake up four or five
o'clock in the morning, you know, and bust their ass
to to work and they're cheating and there's a lot

(27:13):
of dudes. There's a lot of dude. I'm like, plex,
I ain't even take vitamins, ain't I ain't take vitamins.
I feel sometimes did you walk by when you was
playing I was eating fast food? How many not only
was I not using I was eating I was eating
fish for late sandwiches. Hey, we uhould work out in

(27:37):
Florida with uh Me, Chad fred T, Frank Gore and
and and and Chad would show up eating a cheeseburger
for McDonald's and a large fry and just jump on
the track and just start running a hunt of yard dashes.
I'm like, how do you do that? They the clock
in the morning with a cheeseburger, a large fry and

(28:00):
walk on the field and start working out and running
and ripped up right. I just don't know how many
guys locker they would have bottles. You'd be like, bro,
how many peoples be cats that come in with with
briefcases like what what you got wrong? Packages? The pails
that gotta take three a day. You oh, you need

(28:20):
you need a little bit more, You need a little
bit more. When capacity here, take this here, you need
this one here and take this one right here. Oh
you need this. Here's a little bit of powder. Take
this before you go to bed. I'm sitting there looking
at that dudes, like, man, this is too complicated for me.
It's like trying to cook something like you're you're basically
trying to figure out for your body. Man, you're trying
to I'm just gonna still here and try to play.

(28:41):
I can still be a fan of you, but listen,
you're cheating the game, and you're cheating the players who
do it the right way, man. And it's always been
something that I've been against. I don't care who you are, man.
If that list ever became a real thing, Like if
you were to uncome know who you are, man, I'll

(29:06):
tell you what I've seen you do, it would be
some disappointments that there'd be some true disappointments on some
of these guys that I'm just saying. I'm just saying, hey,
I know this. I won't say any names, but I remember,
in particular, one time I adapt a dude up that
was like known for for it, you know what I mean,

(29:27):
in our in our circles, And when I adapted him up,
he didn't feel like he was uh uh person on
the inside his hand. He didn't feel like he just
didn't you know how you dap a dude up and
you hit his arm and you grabbed his hand and
his hand his hand strength, and I'm I got strong hands,
like my, my, my, my, I was known for his

(29:50):
having strong hands, because I shook this dude's hand. Man,
he gave you that gorilla grip. And then I touched
his arm like I took the hand, touched the arm,
and I was like, you're not You're not uh from here,
You're not from this earth. You're not from And I
ain't said to him. I tried to like, I tried
to get up into it back with him, you know
what I mean. I'm a little tighter, so he could

(30:11):
feel the same. But it wasn't the same. It wasn't
the same. Hey, yeah, it wasn't the same. I did.
We got. I didn't feel the same way he felt.
This guy, Mama, No, his hardness was way more than mine.

(30:32):
I mean, I don't know this dude here. Man. Oh, hey, man,
we're supposed to be talking about John Hardball Man White, Like,
what is so much? Man? Yes, this is a hard turn.
We're gonna hard We're gonna hard you turn. We're gonna

(30:53):
turn off this street. We're gonna turn off the road.
We all right now? You know what don't about this?
Uh Baltimore Ray is And why do they win so
much in the pre You've been there, You've experienced it.
I don't even look at it is they try so
hard in the preseason. They just have great depth. They
do a good job of drafting and getting guys better.

(31:15):
That's all it is. Their secondary players. When I say secondary,
they're non starters, are better than everybody else's That's what
it is. They try so hard in the preseason. No
Ozzy Knews, Eric Decas and those guys in the front
office has done a hell of a job and putting
together a roster. That's why when they started running back,

(31:37):
they back up running back, their third string running back,
they were still able to be competitive. They lost Lamar Jackson,
they were still able to be competitive. They were competitive.
They called him to broke down. He was drafted and
undrafted quarterback. They were still competitive. That they win got
value in the market now because they were competitive, and

(31:59):
so to me, I look at it as a tribute
to that organization and the way they developed guys. That's
that's fair what you think. Um, I wish we had
the stats on how many teams in the preseason went
go forign no and make the playoffs because we went
with Steve lost the preseason game, I believe since so

(32:22):
that's one team right now. Yeah, that's that's pretty good.
I didn't know that statistic. But I don't think I've
been on any teams that. I think in two thousand
and three, we went four oh in the in the
preseason and we end up going six and ten. Um
don't doing the regular season, and that's uncharacteristic for any

(32:45):
Pittsburgh team. But I think when you go you know,
four no in the preseason, you kind of get re
laxed going into the regular season because you're thinking that,
you know what, we got a pretty good team, but
the regular season is totally different from the preseason. I
would rather just lose a few games in the preseason
and really just be locked in, you know, uh, you
know a week one. But uh, I didn't know that.

(33:08):
The Baltimore Raven two thousand and sixteen in the in
the in the preseason, all they do is winning the preseason.
That's what they do. They win in the preseason, they win.
You know t J was a part of that, You
know what I mean, winning the preseason, right, Na, I wasn't.
You wasn't part of the preseason. Now I was in
Seattle still I got I got to Baltimore after preseason,

(33:31):
but it was literally like three days three or four
days before the first game, Monday night football against the Jets.
And every again, is that the game where where Ray
clapped his hands and then ran through through the line
of scrimmage and hit who was that Sprowls? Who was
that in the back? It was? It was a little
running back. Who was running back? I can't remember. All
I remember was Baltimore has this system with Cam Cameron

(33:55):
was there. They would say Raven one, and it would
go from Raven one all the way to twelve. It's
just one, Raven one, two, three, four all the way
to twelve. It's a play. Oh nobody package. Nobody had
never told me about that. So I'm on the field
flak like Raven seven. I look at that. You're supposed

(34:18):
to remember all the twelve plays? Oh no, hey, I
look at cute, like what is ravens? I had no
idea already built in formation built in play everything, bro,
It's kind of tough. I literally was like, what is this?

(34:39):
Did I tell you? Yeah? They told me, But did
you get the ball? Because I was a rund play.
There was a rund play. So half of them are runs,
half of them are passes. But that when I was like, Oh,
I don't I gotta really get in this playbook then crazy.
Let's take a quick break after let's let's Raven two.
Raven two. We're going to take a couple of minutes

(35:00):
and uh, we're gonna we're gonna audible right here, and
we're gonna switch gears and we're gonna talk about another
play caller. Uh, Tom Brady. He left camp for personal reasons.
It had already been discussed. Do you guys see this
as problematic? Is this much to do if nothing? Or
is you ain't got to get ready? Well we'll talk
about that on the other side of this break. You're
listening to up on Game Now as t J. Hushman's

(35:22):
out of Plexico burts on LaVar Arianton, take a quick
red spit, get a simple water or something like that.
I mean that is Saturday, Get a Mitch a lotta
or something. Man treat yourself. All right, we'll take will
be right back or just have some water. We'll be
right back. Welcome back into the show. This is up
on Game. If you missed anything, make sure you go
check out. The podcast is up on Game. We also

(35:44):
have up on Game Presents. It's an extended UH feed
and channel. We've got some an array of talent on there,
some great shows. In fact, we're gonna get to one
of those shows as well. On the next side of
this UH this hour legendary moment. We we had Steve
xing on and if y'all don't know who Stephen Jackson is,
man do your homework. One of the big backs, one
of the original tattooed up dread Lock rosta you know

(36:09):
Buffalo Soldier running backs. Then that was before it got popular.
Uh guys. Tom Brady he left, Um left the team.
Coach Bowl said that he this This was a conversation
that they had prior to the season starting, that he
would take this time off. I have no idea what

(36:29):
it's for. Could be due to you know, somebody's medical
sid scenario playing out. Hopefully it's nothing where you know
what you're saying your last goodbyes or anything like that. Uh,
I can't can't really fit. Would not speculate or try
to figure out, uh too much about it because I
just feel like he's the goat. And if somebody at

(36:51):
the same age as us that's still playing the game
and playing at the level that he's playing at said
that he needed a little bit of time for personal matters, um,
and that was part of him coming back. I don't
see how anyone would have any type of issue or
problem with Tom Brady taking that time as opposed to
being with the team, going going to a preseason game.

(37:14):
But with that being said, I'm one person. As one
person's opinion, Well, you guys think when you have the
equity of Tom Brady, it's a coach, Um, August so
and so, I need to do this and you ain't
even asking you, basically just letting me love and so
I got you. You trust him. He's a professional, and

(37:38):
so if you want to win, which that is your
best option as the head coach, you say, all right,
he's gonna have Alex Guerrel. Would he He's still gonna
be thrown, he's still gonna be working. Um, whatever his
situation is, I hope it's not uh, something that's damaging
to anybody in his family. But it could be like

(38:00):
a wedding. Professional man like Tom Brady. Con Like, when
you think of Tom Brady, you look at Tom Brady.
Tom Brady is self made, bro. He got it out
the mund He wasn't the first. He had the grind
for everything that he has right now, and so he's

(38:21):
gonna be a professional. You don't play as long as
he played without it. And so you the head coach,
he tell you that, you'd be like, all right, bet
see you when you get back. Man, it's a non
factor for him not being in camp. I don't know
what the reason the personal reasons are for him not
being in training camp. But are you really worried about
Tom Brady and and the way that he's going to
perform when he comes back to the team. Absolutely not.

(38:42):
The man is within the league twenty years, twenty one seasons.
There's nothing that he has not seen. Defensively, you can't
fool him with coverages. So with going forward for Todd Bowls,
his backup quarterback of whoever those guys are, they need
those reps, get you because it is probably gonna be
his last season. But we don't know that either, because

(39:03):
he can retire, don't retire and come back just like
you did this year. But those guys think you're not
worried about Tom Brady as far as him being being
prepared and coming back ready to work. Man, he's in
my in my eyes, he's the greatest quarterback of all time.
So with that being said, it's a non factor for
him to be missing training camp. He happened to be

(39:23):
one of our litter mates as well. You know, I
let's talk about it. I mean, he wasn't our draft,
and it was our draft back then. Now it's his
draft today. I mean, hey, when Brady got drafted, y'all
was partying. You're like, you ain't worried about that, But
he got he got drafted. I had already flown on
a private jet, jumped into a helicopter, flew over d C,

(39:46):
went to a tailgate party, met the city, was hanging out.
He still hadn't been taken. You was already already at
Republic Garden, already at Republic Art. It was still d
C Live when I got there. That out, Yeah, Jasper
shouts out to the d m v LA. Y'all man,
uh okay, we got our two on the way, guys,

(40:08):
and it's gonna be pretty interesting. Uh, topic of conversations.
We'll we'll touch on that and then something. But as
it applies to Brady, I think the final word on
it is, it's much to do about nothing. And well,
you know, good luck to Tom Brady. And and if
it was something personal of some sort of serious issue
of nature, we wish you well, my brother, and we

(40:29):
hope that everything works out. Um, if it's just something,
you know, maintenance wise or whatever, that's your business. We're
gonna stay out of it. How about that. Uh, I
know you're gonna hate this. I know you're gonna hate this,
But just a little teaser for the next hour we
get we do have to we do have to touch

(40:50):
on Deshaun. We do got to touch on the Deshaun
Watson topic. Plex. I'm sorry, no pun intended. You're listening
up on game man, We're gonna take a quick break.
On the other side of the break, we'll give you

(41:10):
some for radio. It's Fox Sports Radio.
