We will help you get there.
Speaker 5 (01:25):
Unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free row has a protection
over ten thousand recommended installers tire reck dot com. The
way tied buying should be flex man free agency. Kyrie
Irving resigned, Draymond resigned, hard Hop opted in he wants
to be traded. But more importantly, we just got news
(01:47):
Damian Lillard has finally requested a trade out of Portland.
People been saying he will go to Miami. He's gonna
go to the New Jersey Nets. Where do you see
Damian Lillard playing basketball at next season?
Speaker 4 (02:05):
I mean, man, to be honest with you, I really
don't know. I mean, you look at the possibility of
him joining the Miami Heat. But from what I understand
is that the Portland Trailblazers they want Bam out to
buy you Tyler Hero and pat Riley has already come
out of those games. Those guys are not expendable, So
(02:29):
we are not trading Tyler Helo or Bam. And if
you look at the Miami Heat roster, Gabe Vincent just
joined the Los Angeles Lakers yesterday and free agency. So
I thought that if Dame had the possibility of getting
to Miami, maybe the Miami Heat would have traded Max Struce,
(02:53):
Gabe Vincent, Caleb Martin. But now Max Struce has signed
the what a four year deal with the Cleveland Cavalier,
so he's no longer on the roster either. And I
just don't think Miami has the pieces to acquire Damian
Lillo because.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Let me cut you off, Plex.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
Yeah, if you're the Miami Heat and pat Riley, are
you really gonna hang on the Tyler Hero because you
don't want to give him up for Damian Lellard.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
Like really, I mean, Tyler Hero gotta go. He gotta go,
like yesterday, No, hey, I believe what pat Riley said
the other day. He said, listen, Tyler, he was twenty
twenty four, twenty three, twenty four years old, and he
just keeps progressing. He keeps getting better in moments during
the season, in crunch time situation, he just continues to
(03:44):
keep getting Where.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Is that getting them in the playoffs? He he wasn't
available already. He broke his He broke his hand.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
It wasn't like he was unavailable.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
He broke his hand.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
It's not like he wasn't unavailable. I mean, those things happen.
I mean, look what happened to Jannis in the first
game versus the Miami He uh, he went out with
an injury. Also, so you gotta understand, dude, the Miami
He just went to the Eastern Conference finals. They just
went to these conference finals. It wasn't like they had
(04:17):
a down year. Obviously. They they got into the playoffs.
In the playing game, they lost the first game versus Atlanta,
and then they went the second game and they and
they enter the playoffs as as an eight seed, which nobody, everybody,
myself included thought the Miami he was going to be
oust And the first was against the Milwaukee Bucks. Then
(04:38):
they beat the Bucks. They said, all right, man, enough
is enough. Janni's wasn't healthy, Chris Middleton wasn't playing up
to his all star caliber level. And then they go
and beat the Boston Celtics in Boston and a game seven.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Are you kidding me?
Speaker 6 (05:00):
Nobody without Hero, the Miami Heat all without Tyler Hero,
and with him in the in the lineup, they're even
a better basketball team.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
So you can't just say get rid of Tyler Hero.
They are looking at the potential of the Miami Heat
going back to the NBA Finals with a healthy Tyler
Hero and if they can't quite find a way wi
Damian Lillo, which I don't think is gonna happen, because
now Max Shrewson gave Vincent already gone, and Miami doesn't
(05:32):
have the pieces or the salary.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
I don't want.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
I don't want them.
Speaker 5 (05:35):
Max Strews gave Vincent, Caleb Martin. I don't want those guys.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
Hey, how can you not want I'm glad, how can
you not want gave Vincent and Lakers.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
Listen, listen your team. I want kidding me, I want
them on. I want them on a team. I just
didn't want them for Damian Lillard. If I'm the Portland
trub Lazers, the Lakers are winning free agency if you
ask me, ain't nobody doing free agency like we are
winning free agency? And we gonna get to that later.
But Damian Lillard is a better player than Tyler Hero.
(06:17):
He's another player. And so if you're if you're the
Miami Heat and it's about winning, and it's Tyler Hero
and some picks, Tyler Hero gotta go. He needs to
be included if you're worried about the future, and oh
he's twenty.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
Four, I'm worried about right now. I'm worried about right
now because in Miami he you know what they shown.
They've shown that they can get undrafted guys and bring
them along and develop them.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
And it's very yet. Just look at the roster.
Speaker 5 (06:49):
Max Strews just timber sixty million, gave Vincent just sign
for thirty three million. Caleb Martin is gonna get paid
when he's like the Miami Heat.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
They developed guys.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
So the fact I mean Ducki Robinson was undrafted, he
signed for eighty million, Like that's what they do.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
And so you have a chance to get one of
the best.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Players in NBA and Damian Lillard, you gotta do it
if Tyler hero is a part of that package.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
Tyler hero Man, it was nice knowing you. You got
to go to the Pacific Northwest.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
But listen, obviously there's something there that we do not
know or don't understand, because pat Riley has come out
publicly in a press conference a week ago and said
Tyler hero is not going anywhere. So we get to
(07:40):
talk about everything and all of that and Damien joined
the Miami Heat, but it prings. It seems to me
that pat Riley is pretty adamant about keeping Tyler Hero
on this team.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Yeah that is, I mean, and that's a good thing
if you're a Tyler Hero.
Speaker 5 (07:57):
But if that's the case, you don't have the ass
that So let's take the Miami Heat out of the equation.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Let's take them out of the equation. Where is it?
Where can where can you see him fitting? If it's
not the man you know.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
I really love. I was looking at this yesterday and
for some strange reason that the Philadelphia seventy six ers
are not ready to pursue and sign Terrence Maxi. And
I'm saying to myself, if you're the Philadelphia Eagles, I
(08:33):
mean the Philadelphia seventy six ers, Terrence Maxi, maybe a
Tobias Harris and maybe some draft picks could the possibility
could get Damian Little up to Philadelphia.
Speaker 5 (08:47):
And now if I play, it's kind of crazy now
because you're saying Tyrese Maxi, Tobias Harris and whomever else. Now,
this is when you look at Tyrese Maxi, Right, he's young,
right he And I don't know if the salaries would
have to match with Tobias Harris going over and whomever else.
But when James Harden plays, I just was looking this
(09:11):
up as worse as you were saying that Tyrese Maxey,
I believe, scores nineteen points a game when James Harden
doesn't play, he's twenty five a game.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Twenty five a game.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
Yeah, because obviously getting left shots, because you know Jame
is going to be jacking them up on least one
step one step step back from a three point line.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
But but my point is Tyrese Maxy. Listen, let's just
take the pat Riley theory. He's young, he's not, he's
not he's cheap unlike Tyler Hero. So are you willing
to include a young Tyreek's Maxy that has shown without Harden.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
I can give you twenty five, So I would. I
would say next year, Tyrese Maxie's gonna average twenty seven
points a game. No, I would seven points. I just
remember I said that Dame Dame Lily will be a
better basketball player than Tyrese Maxie for the next five years.
Let's just say that, Okay, he's going he averages nineteen
(10:16):
when James Harden is playing, he averages twenty five when
James Harden is not in the lineup. So now you're
saying that James Harden is no longer part of these
seventy sixes. He's gonna he's going to average twenty seven. Hey,
one more bucket the game, one more bucket the game.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
He can do that.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Dame Lillard is average thirty and not the fact that
you put him on that basketball team with Jolan b
who is the MVP of the last season. I think
that Damian Lilo going to Philadelphia is an option. I
really do with the trays that I just know, MAXI,
(10:55):
Tobias Harris, you got scooped over there. Now you have
you scoot Henderson down. Now you have a formalal backcourt.
You have a starting wing, small forward, and Tobias Harris.
I believe Nurkis is still a part of this basketball
team out of Portland. So now you're putting together a
product on the basketball court that can go out there
(11:17):
compete and win games when they win the Western Conference.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Absolutely not, but they we we know these players.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
When when you're a superstar, you pretty much dictate where
you want to go. Does he want to go to
Philadelphia because it was reported it was Miami number one,
the Nets Boston. I didn't hear Philadelphia in that equation.
I know that you know the Brooklyn Nets have Cam
(11:46):
Cam Johns, and I've been saying New Jersey Nets, I'm
tripping Cam Johnson and macal Bridges. They desperately need a
point guard. And maybe Dame wants to come to New
York to play with the Brooklyn Nets, but that's not
getting him closer to winning a championship playing with the
(12:08):
Brooklyn Nets. Dame is what in his eleventh year. He's
one of the best players in the.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
World, and I believe Dams thirty three correct.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
Now he needs to be putting himself in a situation
to be able to contend to win the World Championship.
Is he gonna win the World Championship in Portland? No,
that's the reason why he wants out. If he joins
the Brooklyn Nets, is he any closer to winning the
World Championship? No, he's not, because the Brooklyn Nets aren't
(12:38):
even on the list. Probably won't even make the playoffs
next year in the Eastern Conference because the Eastern Conference
is really is getting better. And I put the Atlanta
Hawks in front of the Brooklyn Nets right now, even
with the trader Jason Collins, I believe the Atlanta Hawks
a better basketball team than Nets, so they need to
(13:02):
be looking at the possibility of joining the team to
where he can go and win the world championship.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Yeah, it's gonna be interesting this next week.
Speaker 5 (13:15):
Uh, where Damian Lillard ends up because everybody, Oh, he's
not gonna request the trade.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
He finally requested the trade.
Speaker 5 (13:23):
He probably didn't want to be the bad guy Portland
trail blaze in the Pacific Northwest fan base. Hopefully they
they understand where he's coming from. But we got a
lot to get into. I want to talk a little
Kyrie Irvin.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
We'll talk about the team that I believe has improved
the most, Lakers, Draymonrie signing, James Harden opting in to
be traded.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Man. We'll be right back up on Game.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Say, what would you call that late morning for you
plaques on the East coast?
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Yeah, a little late morning for me may yes, a
little lately. Yeah, we had some hazy skies due to
this these forces out.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Not a cloud in scot not a cloud and sky
We clear skies out here, so we good to go.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
Good to go.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
Yeah, Hey, Kyrie Irving, you watch all the free agency
during the week, or just all the free agency experts
so to speak, and they're all saying the same thing. Man,
I'm not giving Kyrie more than two years. I'm not
giving Kyrie. He's not dependable, he's not reliable, great player,
(16:21):
but is he available?
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Is he going to play?
Speaker 5 (16:26):
What's next? Because they don't like his maturity? Are you
okay with the Dallas Mavericks giving him three years, one
hundred and twenty six million.
Speaker 4 (16:35):
I'm absolutely fine with it. I don't have any problem
with it at all. And everybody keeps talking about Kyrie
Irving and his availability and you know, all the things
that he had to say. But if you look at
his availability, he made a personal decision to not get tested,
(16:59):
and everybody, you know, kind of threw him under the
bus for that. He didn't want to get vaccinated, he
didn't want it to get Oh yeah, he didn't want
to get vaccinated for COVID and he was unavailable and
that was his own personal right or personal decision. Then
you know, everything happens with the whole you know, anti
Semitic comments that he had, and he was suspended, and
(17:22):
you know, people say, oh, the guys are unavailable. But
if you look at his history, he's played a lot
of basketball games because he has been durable for the
most part of his career. I believe he missed, you know,
a few games in the playoffs back in you know,
oh what Levet when the Capitalists won the World Championship.
(17:46):
But to me, he's been available other than those two
instances that I just mentioned. So we talked about this
last week. I just don't understand why a place like
Dallas would be his destination with the fact that Luka
(18:07):
Doncic is basically a ball dominant player. We know that.
And when Kyrie Irvin is taking bringing the ball at
the court, what is Luca doing. It's not like he's,
you know, running off of screens and trying to get
himself open. He's standing basically behind the free point line.
Because without the ball in his hands, offensively, he really
(18:30):
doesn't have an impact on the basketball game. And I've
said I've stated this and said this every time. He's
one of the worst defenders I've ever seen in my life.
He's one of the worst transition defenders in basketball. But
when he has the basketball in his hands, he can
give you forty and fifty points a game. But he's
not playing any defense. But if you look at both
(18:54):
of these guys style of play, the both ball dominant players.
They need the ball in their hands to have an
impact on the basketball game. And I just don't see
these two guys coachesting together and bringing the best out
of each other just based off of that. They're just
ball dominant guys. I mean and again, I like Kyrie
(19:17):
Irving as a player. I wanted him on the Lakers,
and I'm agreeing with you.
Speaker 5 (19:22):
I'm giving him three years, one hundred and twenty six
million because he is one of the best players in
the NBA. The problem the Dallas Mavericks are gonna have
is what you spoke of earlier. Luca plays no defense.
Kyrie plays no defense. They are going to struggle to
stop teams. They will get buckets. Luca's ball dominant, He's
(19:46):
gonna get buckets. Kyrie's ball dominant. He's gonna get buckets.
Are they going to be able to get enough stops
to win the game. That's going to be the question.
But I'm with you. I like the signing. Kyrie is
by far and away one of the best players scores
in the NBA. So for me, yeah, I agree with
you on that one. Let's look into your boy, James Harden,
(20:10):
that that is his career.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
Man.
Speaker 5 (20:13):
At one point he was, by far and at least
for me, not even close, one of the best scores
in the NBA.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
And then his role kind of changes.
Speaker 5 (20:22):
He's in Philadelphia, he becomes more of a facilitator led
the NBA and assists I'm sending to his contract, and I'm.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
Like, why would he do that when he could get
more guaranteed money?
Speaker 5 (20:35):
And I'll go first on this if I'm a team
the way James Harden looked, I'm not giving James Harden
a MAX contract.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
I'm not doing it.
Speaker 4 (20:46):
I mean, listen, I'm looking at James Harden. I'm saying
to myself is that the Philadelphia seventy six has took
all the guests work out of it because they offered James.
They chose to pick up his option, which is thirty
five million. So it seems being James Harden is in
Philadelphia there to stay and he's not going anywhere. But
(21:11):
what does that mean for Tyree's MAXI that's one of
the reasons why the Philadelphia SAIF seventy and sixes came
out and said that they weren't ready to really jump
put themselves in a situation to sign him. So that
tells me that seventy and six ers need him on
this basketball team and they want to continue to compete
(21:32):
to win in the Eastern Conference. But I really just
don't see him being there a long long term. So
seventy six is are going to continue to get better.
But you know, I wouldn't say that James Harden doesn't
(21:54):
deserve the money. He doesn't deserve the money. It's just
father You can just see that father time is just
keeping up on him faster than we have seen any
other athletes you know, in the past.
Speaker 5 (22:09):
I'm which is it father time or do you believe
it's a lack of commitment in the offseason and just
you know how.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
You know how it is.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
It's a little bit both. You really got to put
you Yeah, it's for me. If you're eighteen, what what
is the.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
Max years and money per year you offering you you
be willing to give James Harden.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
I will say two or three of the most. I
think he has about two quality years of basketball still
left to play, just based off of the fact of
you know, it doesn't seem to me that he's really
you know, working himself into basketball shape and the off season,
(23:01):
and he's getting older obviously, and I just think that
in three years James Harden will probably be you know,
walking away from basketball just due to the fact that
of those two things that are that are going against him,
and that's not really committing yourself to getting in better
(23:24):
shape and what he's in. He's thirteen or fourteenth for
you already, so that'll be seventeen eighteen years of basketball
and you just call it a career.
Speaker 5 (23:35):
So so, and you know it's been reported he wants
to go to the Clippers. If you're the Clippers and
they're saying, oh, Paul George for James Harden. I'm the Clippers.
There's no way I do that now. The only way
is James Hallden is available. James Harden is available. Paul
George at injury history, he misses a ton of games.
(23:55):
But if you are the Clippers, are you willing to
trade Paul George for James Harden?
Speaker 4 (24:01):
He Oh no, that don't even make sense. If you
are the Clippers, why would you trade PG for James Harden.
That's just flat out foolish. Anybody can see that.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
But PG.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
PG a lot of times is m I A well,
he's been in because he's been injured. I get it.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
I under yeah, and.
Speaker 5 (24:28):
Hard Harden's available. Harden, Donna give you listen. I've seen
my game's ear, Paul. I have seen James.
Speaker 4 (24:37):
Harden play basketball games in the playoff series, in the
game on the court and he's still unavailable, so I'm
going to keep my guy Paul Geordans on this team.
James Harden pops up every once in a while, you know,
thirty forty points maybe you know, once a month, but
(25:00):
other than that, he's really not the guy that he
was five or six years ago, where he was a
walking thirty point machine. He you know, he's right around
at fifteen to twenty range. He's in there when he
wants to play. He doesn't always want to play basketball
every single night. He doesn't give that effort every single
(25:23):
night that you see that at Allen Iverson was given.
He doesn't play with that energy of you know, he
just has this this motor that he wants to play basketball.
So he doesn't play like that. Since he has been
with the six Ers, his game has changed. I mean
(25:44):
someone started to change when he was playing with the
Brooklyn Nets. James harn just got to get in better shape.
Can he do it playing this many years in the NBA?
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Who knows? But I know one thing.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
We got to go to our guy alo Isaac Loing
Crime on the updates.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
I loo what you got for us?
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Oh indeed, fellas huge NBA news multiple outlets reporting a
short time ago that Portland trail Blazer superstar Damian Lillard
has requested to be traded. The Athletic has just added
that Lillard has informed the Blazers that he specifically wants
to be traded to the Miami Heat. Lillard had played
(26:23):
the first eleven seasons of his career with Portland, making
him the third longest tenured player with their current team
in the league. The only two players who have been
with their current team longer Steph Curry and Clay Thompson.
This morning, in free agency, ESPN reported that Max strus
is headed from Miami to the Cleveland Cavaliers on a
four years, sixty three million dollars side and trade deal,
(26:46):
while the Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to a two
year deal with free agent center Jackson Hayes. On Friday night,
Memphis Grizzlies guard Desmond Baine agreed to a five year,
two hundred and seven million dollar max extension. Indiana Pacers
guard Tyrese Haliburton agreed to a five year MAX extension
that could be worth up to two hundred and sixty
(27:06):
million dollars. Kyrie Irving re signing with Dallas three years
one hundred and twenty six million guard Fred Van Vliet
heading from the Toronto Raptors to the Houston Rockets on
a three year, one hundred and thirty million dollars deal.
In Draymond Green stays with Golden State for four years
and one hundred million. That's a lot of money back
to you, guys.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
Hey, Now, TJ based off Johilo just said, it's Baines
a max basketball player.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
No, Desmond bain is not a max player. No, not
at least not for me.
Speaker 5 (27:36):
To me, That's what it is, is that right now,
that's what he plex for me. For me, when I
hear max player, you gotta be one of the best
players in the NBA. You gotta be Jokic Yan Yannis
lebron K.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
D Uh.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
Look, but you do know that there is a difference
between the being a max player and a super max player.
Speaker 5 (28:00):
Man, Listen, you like and I get it. He's the
second best player on that team, so they they max
him out. But it's what you said. This is where
the NBA is hold up though, Like, think about this,
he got two hundred and some million.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
I'm gonna just say this.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
I'm happy for this dude because he got it out
the Mutton. We're not talking desmon Ban desnebt Bang was
the first round pick. I believe it's a thirtieth pick. Listen,
Fred van Fleet, Man, he should walk from Toronto to Houston.
That's how happy he should be. Listen who his agent
I believe is Rich paulin Clutch. They are the agents
(28:40):
of the year. You got Fred Van Fleet fifty million
a year? You got listen, man, Listen was it three
years one thirty or three years one fifty?
Speaker 6 (28:54):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (28:55):
Man, I believe it was one fifty.
Speaker 5 (28:57):
Listen, you just got Red Van Fleet fifty million a
year agent of the year of the drafted player.
Speaker 4 (29:11):
And he's a really good player. But I guarantee nobody
thought he would get fifty a year. Why would you
nobody thought that?
Speaker 5 (29:19):
So I just hey, Rich Paul, if I'm a player,
I'm trying to get with Rich Paul and Clutch. Could
they getting dudes paid in a major way? That that's unbelievable.
But Desmond Bine really good player, max contract not in
my eyes. He's a he can shoot the ball, he
(29:40):
plays good defense. But again, I think of the Jamarants,
the Damian Lillard's, the Giljes Alexander's so those type.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
Of I don't He's not even your top ten of
shooting guards in the NBA top ten.
Speaker 5 (29:57):
Let's see, we got Devin Booker. Well, we know that's
a that's Jamal Murray is a combo guard. He not
better than Jamal Murray. He's probably top ten. Plex he's
a top ten shooting guard. When when you kind of
just go through it, I would give him that he's
right there top ten. Would you say, yeah, you know,
(30:17):
you go through the list. You know Klay Thompson to
have Klay Thompson, so yeah, he may be there. I
would say Devin Booker is probably the best shooting guard
in the in the game right now.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
Yeah, I totally agree with that.
Speaker 5 (30:33):
But hey, but a max con, I mean, it's good
for these guys, man make this money, take care of
your family. But it's what this is, what the NBA
has come to, is where guys can get I mean,
no disrespect, but when you say that, it always like
the fact that Tobias Harris can get what he gets
and he ain't.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
He wasn't even a third option on his team.
Speaker 5 (30:55):
Yeah, that he has a contract that he has and
everybody that dang you're throwing shots at the I just
it just came. It was Joel and be James Harden
and Tyrese Maxi, then Tobias Harris and maybe Tobias Harris
is looking at it like I'm just doing what is
asking me. I can really go get you twenty every game,
if that is what is what has asked to me.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
But it isn't.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
But that's where twenty points in the NBA currently gets you.
Speaker 5 (31:21):
That is I mean I beat van Fleet average what nineteen? Yeah,
average nineteen, and it gets you fifty a year. Ye
get you get you get you fifty a year.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
It almost three to one points to millions almost so.
Speaker 5 (31:41):
But when you come up the way Fred van Fleet
has come up, everything that is handed his way has
been earned. That's one thing. Because when you're when you're
a free agent, you gotta earn it. It's never going
to be given to you.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
And so for God's like him, I'm happy for it
because I know how it is to be in the
basement and you got to work your way up to
the penthouse or just to the top floor.
Speaker 5 (32:06):
You gotta earn it. They they not gonna give it
to you. So congrats to him. This NBA free agency,
everybody's talking and they're all saying the same thing when
you when you click, man, the Lakers are winning free agency.
The Lakers are winning free agency. We've signed Toornian Prince
from Minnesota. Re re signed Hachimurra. We signed Jackson Hayes,
(32:29):
who I actually like a ton Man from the pelicanshit.
His athleticism, his size. But that's for me, man, Listen,
I'm like, and I have a back. I have history
somewhat gave Vincent. We signed defensive shooting. So Jackson Hayes,
(32:50):
his dad was a coach with the Bengals when I
was playing, So I've been around Jackson Hayes since he
was about six years old.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
His dad was our tight end coach. He'd always be
around training camp and he just kept growing and growing
and growing.
Speaker 5 (33:04):
So I'm really looking forward to watching him play with
the Lakers, watching him continue to develop.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
And that's just a piece we need man that that size,
that athleticism.
Speaker 4 (33:14):
Listen, I get it, Yeah, I get it. I understand.
The Los Angeles Lakers are having the best free agency
that they've had in a decade or you know. Now
they're putting together a real Ohl basketball team. I know
on the Western sign I know that. I know Austin
Reeves better resigned, I know that much. Hey, man, are
(33:37):
fifteen man, you know you never know. He's probably over
here with me and New Jersey playing some golf. I
saw him with the golfer.
Speaker 1 (33:44):
He so.
Speaker 4 (33:50):
Is getting better. They're getting better, but they are still
they are not the best team in the Western Conference.
We know that moving forward.
Speaker 1 (34:00):
When we gotta we gotta take a break.
Speaker 5 (34:01):
When we come back, I want to talk to you
about Austin Reeves and is he actually worth the money
that he's reportedly going to get. Well, we're talking that.
We'll talk about that when we get back. We'll talk
about dramond Re signing with the Warriors as well.
Speaker 4 (34:17):
Up on game, TJ was out of Plexico Burrs Fox
Sports Radio, LeVar Happy Birthday. My brother will be right back.
I heard you, Ray, Hey, We're gonna let that ride.
Let that ride for my goodness. Wow, d piece of
my brother. X man. Yo. This was This was the
(34:41):
last song I used to listen to before the game started.
My name every Sunday.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
Hey, that song gets you hyped, make you want to
run through a Wall.
Speaker 4 (34:53):
Welcome back, end up on game We Live from the
tire Reck dot Com studio.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
I'm t J.
Speaker 4 (34:59):
Who's is that?
Speaker 5 (35:00):
I'm alongside Plexico Burris. Y'all listening live.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
That's that Dmax go so hard made rest in peace man,
rest is so yes.
Speaker 5 (35:11):
Before we went to break plex we said, Austin Reeds,
it's been the Lakers have offering four years fifty two
I believe that's the most they can offer him. But
he can sign and offer shit with another team upwards
of eighty million.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
You the Lakers? Do you match?
Speaker 6 (35:27):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (35:28):
No, I do not. What's your seat four?
Speaker 4 (35:32):
Listen? I love ayall fifteen. I think what he has
been able to do with this Lakers lineup and on
his roster has been nothing less than spectacular because nobody
actually expected him to do anything. Let's just say that.
So the fact that the Lakers has basically taken a
stance and has said, listen, fifty two million is all
(35:54):
we got. We can't give you no more than that.
Now we know, because we just was talking about it
in the previous segment, that Austin Reeves can get way
more money than this. But does he want to remain
with the Los Angeles Lakers is the question, because somebody
is going to offer him more than what is it
(36:17):
ten eleven million or ten million dollars. I believe it's
like fourteen. I think it's fourteen thirteen thirteen, fourteen a year.
I believe that based on where these NBA contracts are headed,
in what these players are getting for averaging fifteen sixteen
points a game, he can opt out of this deal
or not even sign it, and you know, get out
(36:38):
on the market and see if he can get more,
which I believe that he can, because I don't see
I don't foresee him being that piece that the Lakers
need to really get over the hump in the Eastern Conference.
He doesn't have that big of an impact on his
team for them to, you know, to continue to get better.
Speaker 5 (37:01):
Now, I will say this, I want Austin Reeves bad.
I'm willing to go a little bit past the four
years fifty two. He does impact the game. He at
least towards the end of the season he was averaging
I believe nineteen.
Speaker 4 (37:14):
He played very well in the playoffs. But there's a
point where you have to say, wins enough enough. Hopefully
we can reach that happy medium and he can come
back because he showed in the playoffs and late when
Lebron was hurt.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
I can give you nineteen twenty.
Speaker 5 (37:32):
And if these guys that are putting up nineteen twenty
are getting one hundred plus million, maybe, just maybe Austin
Reeves can be worth the eighty million he may it in.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
I want to correct myself.
Speaker 4 (37:44):
Van Fleet was three years one hundred and thirty million,
not three years one hundred and fifty.
Speaker 5 (37:49):
But I was doing some research. You know what today
is correct, way off subject. But today is July first.
But in the baseball world, is that be Bobby Bonia Day?
Speaker 4 (38:03):
In the world of contract a five point nine million
dollars five point nine million dollars is gonna turn into
twenty eight and a half million dollars in deferred payments
for Bobby Boonia from the New York Mets. Happy Bobby
(38:24):
Bodey man, you talk about money, gain an interest Plexico.
Every July first until twenty thirty five, he gets one
point one nine million dollars, basically one.
Speaker 5 (38:37):
Point two million from the Mets started in twenty eleven.
So Bobby Bonilla, toast up, toast up, toast up. I
know they be looking at that like five point nine
is turned into twenty day deal. So if you recall
back in the day when Birdie Mattoff was doing what
he was doing, the Mets had a lot of money
tied up into that, and so when that happened, they
(38:59):
wanted to de Bononia's five point nine million. He negotiated, Okay,
we can defer it at eight percent interest, hence one
point one to nine million a year for twenty four years.
Speaker 4 (39:10):
That is absolutely beautiful. And if I'm not enough, I'm
not incorrect. I believe that Ken Griffith Jr. Is still
receiving money from the Cincinnati Reds.
Speaker 5 (39:22):
Also, yeah, I mean in baseball, that's the thing I
would have deferred some of my And you know what's also,
it's not just the mental Bobby Bonilla.
Speaker 1 (39:32):
It's not just the Mets, the Baltimore Orioles.
Speaker 5 (39:35):
Give him half a meal for twenty five years, half
a meal for twenty five years. Bobby Bonia is living
very well on the fruits of his labors from many,
many years ago. I said we would get into Draymond
signing with the words, and we will the next hour.
Speaker 4 (39:53):
But we also we football players, so we got to
talk a little football when we come back Fox Sports Radio.
I'm tj Oshmazada. That's Plexico Birds up on game once again.
My brother LeVar, Happy birthday. We'll be back for the
second hour. Y'all stay locked in with us.
