Round Ball is back in play. The NBA is underway.
We're going to talk talk NBA news and things going on.
But you know, when you're watching those NBA games, make
sure you check it out with some original Louisiana hot
sauce on your food. It's got the perfect balance of
peppery peppers, vinegar and salt. You throw it on your wings,

(01:28):
your nachos, your burgers, whatever it is you're eating while
you're watching the game. And you can hit any tailgate too.
It's a football Saturday, football weekend. You get that bold,
handcrafted flavor of the original Louisiana Hot sauce.

Speaker 4 (01:40):

Now here's cuff to legend.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
It's go time, leg.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
All right, Well that's how you know it's basketball season.
It's time to bring in the best, added the best
in the business. We got Cuffs the legend with us
from some dude show. What's happening, bro? Like, how you
how you're feeling, man? What's the good word with you?

Speaker 6 (02:33):
My up on Game Brothers my up on game Brothers
in Christ. I miss y'all. Guys.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Man, I've been a.

Speaker 6 (02:40):
Nice off season. You know, I've been in the weight
room probably be like Labar Harington. Man, I'm working on
my go to workout. You know how it is? Flag like,
you know, we're in the gail. We spend a time
with our families. You know, the NBA season is bag.
We have NFL college football starting to heat up. We
have the World Series going on with the Dodgers in

(03:01):
the Blue Jays. We got NHL, we got UFC fights.
We have NBA coaches running illegal poker games. Yeah, what
a time to be alive.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Guy, what a time to be alive.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Where do you want to start? Do you want to
start with the opening opening games?

Speaker 6 (03:17):
Do you?

Speaker 3 (03:18):
I mean, do you want to start start with the
Gamble League? I mean, was it was it Gilbert Arenas?
Did he snatch?

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Like?

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Where you want to start? We can start with the
games and that we could come back to the to
the you know other stuff. What are you thinking?

Speaker 6 (03:30):
I mean, this is the sports equalox. Like I was saying,
I need to be in the studio with with Levarn Plats.
We got to set this up, man, we need to
be in the studio because it's so many things. I
want to start with a little I want to call
it like some dude. We can call it some dudes
like facts like something. Okay, we're one week into the

(03:51):
NBA season and there's fourteen players that are averaging at
least thirty points a game. Back.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Now, that's a lot.

Speaker 6 (04:00):
Like Aaron Gordon at fifty points in the season opener
against Golden State. Aaron Gordon is leading the NBA in
scoring right now.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
He talked about more like he's always talked about as
like a role player. Is it because he's not consistent
enough as a dominant player?

Speaker 4 (04:15):
Why is he not? Is it his injuries?

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Like why is he not talked about more as like
a megastar player.

Speaker 6 (04:21):
That's a great question. Uh. Coming out of Arizona, you know,
Aaron Gordon was the athletic, freaking nature kind of reminded
us of Blake Griffin. He was that type of program, versatile,
you know, always been a solid rebounder, always being like
a blue guy. I mean, his second jump is amazing
offensive rebounding. Ali Yut he saw him in the dunk
contests on the show. He became like a household name

(04:44):
as far as the duncan, and I think he got
labeled as a dunker. And I would also say, as
you saw in game one, he was keen out of
eleven from three point land, I think he made three.
He has really been in the lab and he's developed
that three points. And now Aaron Gordon is looking like
he's looking like Seattle supersonic, Sean Kemp, like athletically and

(05:07):
just he's an athletic guy. Like I've seen Aaron Gordon
a couple of summers ago when Lebron and older guys
did the Seattle program out there with Jamal Closter and
them shut out to them, Like that was my first
time seeing Aaron Gordon in person. And it's like, bro,
he's a big guy, right, we're talking about.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Like he's not just slam and tall. He's like he's thick.
It's like strong Paus but he's strong.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 6 (05:28):
He's so it kind of reminds me of a Blake Griffin.
But he has immensely improved at three point shot as
you saw the other night. Yes, I had a fifty ball.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
I mean, okay, you gave me one name, but I
mean talk to me about you know you've you've clearly
started with the thirty point plus club. So is that
did you want did you want to round it out
with with with somebody else? Did you want to switch
lanes and go in a different direction thirty thirty thirty
plus club?

Speaker 4 (05:58):
Where we're at now?

Speaker 6 (05:58):
Like I want to TJ is not here today. Shout
out to TJ.

Speaker 7 (06:03):
Man.

Speaker 6 (06:05):
I want to present this to Practico birds because we
know you know, I want to present this to my
guy Plaque Man. It's been a minute, my East Coast brother.
Like we can about low Car. We gotta talk about
low Car of Luca donnas Man. What Luca? It's last night,
as we saw, he broke the he broke the Lakers

(06:27):
franchise record for points in the first two games. That's
ninety two points in the first two games. And we
see Lebron James on the bench with his Sun jersey
on with the night. You know, Bron kicking it, Bron Braun.
You good, just stay over there, get this Getatica, get
the Skuyatica under control. Let's let's guyata Plaxico Plactico. I'm

(06:55):
yelling you right down there, you move. There might be
a moving play that. I want to see low Car
Luca Donach, Lebron, James. We talk about magic Johnson. Lebron
is in that Magic Johnson mode now where he can
play the point guard at sixty nine, at forty eight
years old, it's still averaged twenty two, seven and seven.

(07:17):
But what if they add what if they add a
guy that guy in Milwaukee plaque.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Oh Joannie, that guy Johnie.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Wait wait a minute, Wait a minute, you're so you're
saying that the Los Angeles Lakers are in play allegedly,
allegedly Johannis Nente the COMBA from the Milwaukee Bucks to
the Los Angeles? Is that what you're telling me?

Speaker 6 (07:51):
I said, never say never.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Where does that happen? I don't know how does that happen?
Where do you find that the capital to be able
to do that? If you're the Lakers?

Speaker 6 (08:00):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (08:01):
You do?

Speaker 6 (08:01):
Wait?

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Did that?

Speaker 6 (08:01):
The way to answer your question, The way that that
happens is Mark Walter, the new ownership group with the
LA Lakers. And I know the salary cap situation is
different in baseball than in basketball, but you have people
that are willing to really go all in, like doctor
Jerry Buss used to do. Put all your tips to
the table. You're the Lakers, right, You got all the banners.

(08:22):
You know what I'm saying. You got on the banners.
And I'm gonna tell you why. I'm gonna tease you
out with this. I'm gonna tell you why you got
to go all in. If you're the Lakers and try
to make a play for Giannest, you gotta Trey Austin Reeves.
You're probably have to trade Hotcha Mora and some brad picks.
Even you could throw DeAndre Ayton in the midst. But
it's if you gotta do this because Victor win bin
Yambu coming.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Bro.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Hey, let me have pause, Let me ask you, let
me ask you all about Victor winbin Yama. The most
impressive unimpressive dude ever I've ever seen play and listen.
I only say that to say it's like dude is
playing on a nerve, a nerve oop like what it
like he barely jumps bruh, Like the dude barely leaves

(09:06):
the ground. He looks like a wind puppet out there,
like he like he's like mister stretched, like like we
got stretched Armstrong on the show. But this dude really
is a stretched out dude, Like it doesn't. It looks
like a taller, A taller I don't know, a taller
Tim Duncan with with more with with with maybe a

(09:30):
tad bit more outside skills, or at least perceived to
be allowed to play more outside and handle the rock
more than Tim Duncan did. But I mean, everybody's gassening.
But it don't really like, I know, it's impressive what
he's doing, but it don't really look impressive.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
What don't don't really look it? Don't?

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Hey, bro, look at that bad vertical man. His feet
are like one inch off the ground when he does
whatever it is.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
He's doing bad.

Speaker 6 (09:58):
Like I got, I got a twushed back. I gotta
push back because I do agree with you because I
said the same thing on social media on Twitter on
X it looks like he's playing on that nerve food.
You remember that nerve food that used to be on
our door, Like it looks like he's playing on that
in real life on an NBA ten foot rim. So
it's actually funny watching some of the stuff, Like you
saw the reverse dunk he got done. I won't I

(10:23):
would say this, I would say this, watch it just
watching Victor Women and Y'ama play basketball. It had to
feel like like when our parents or grandparents was watching
Will Chamberlain and Kareem or Lou aut Fender in high
school and in college, and when they first saw Kareem
come through with that sky hook and they saw Chamberlin

(10:44):
get one hundred points allegedly, like when they saw this happening,
it was like, this is probably what these kids that's
twelve years old, he's nine year old kids watching TV.
They're looking at the women yam are like this is
like a unicorn. I called him like a he like
he's growing. I think he's like seven thirteen.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
Yeah, he's grown since he's been in there. Yeah, yeah,
that's crazy.

Speaker 6 (11:07):
I feel like I feel like I'm watching Kevin Durant.
He has a Kevin because that's the player. You can
see he does have.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
A Kevin Durant type.

Speaker 6 (11:14):
That's a good it's a good com Yeah, he has
a Kevin Durant type of game. He got the fade
away man, he shot.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
He's not as shifted as KD. Though, let's not get
carried away. He is not as like like said, shifty
as KD.

Speaker 6 (11:27):
Come on, go back and watch the take and watch
to take.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
You think he's as like twitchy as twitchy quick.

Speaker 6 (11:34):
He's twitching he is.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Man, did you see him come.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Up to court?

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Man, hit him with the crossover and then step back
behind a three point line, And everybody said at the
same time, man, he's like a seven foot nineteen Kevin Durant.
Kevin Durant was something that we thought we would never
see again. And here he is right before our eyes.
And we were texting doing the game. I said our eyes,
I said, dog, this man is look like the best

(12:01):
basketball player in the world because when he gets around
the rim, it's a basket. You can't front him, you
can't play behind him. Then he takes you all to
the perimeters. He can handle the rock, he's shooting the
three ball.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
What are you gonna do with.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
What are you gonna do with him? You can't even
front him in the post?

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Like, what are you gonna do?

Speaker 2 (12:25):
He's an automatic double team when he steps on the
basketball court. I don't see why this man can't average
thirty five to forty points a game every single like
if he just goes down in the post, because he
can dominate basketball games in the paint like I have
never seen before. I never got the chance to see
will a wall or he dunked and pulled his legs up,

(12:47):
you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (12:48):
When he dunked and pulled his legs up, I was like, bruh,
you do realize you pulled your your legs up. Your
feet was on the ground when you dunked it.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
Then you pulled your knees up to.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
The rim like that took a whole lot that could
have been considered hanging on the rim for as long
as it took for him to pull his these from
the ground.

Speaker 6 (13:07):
Man, there was a play. There was a place the
other night. I don't know, I remember I remember this play,
but you can go back and watch it. There was
a play where he was one foot from the three
point line and he picked his dribble up and done.
He did a step George gern Iceman pringer roll.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
Yes he did. I missed it, didn't he didn't? He
miss it? Okay, there was one time he did it
and he missed. Still, anything like that, I never see that.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
Call it the praying mans or something like that. Bad
because he's dude, is just like he's not a big dude,
he's just super long.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
I mean, I it ain't the praying man.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
The praying man is bro like. He don't look like
it will hurt you. Guess what he looked like on
the court. He looked like on the court.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
All, here's what we're gonna do because I don't know,
I don't know where you want to go with this.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
Uh, because this is your hour. We're gonna give you
the hour.

Speaker 6 (14:09):
Yet, I got I got a lot to talk about. Man,
we gotta talk about the Farncastle, Dylan Harper, Devin Buttil
Spurs are coming to them, Lakers gotta make the move.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
I feel like, all right, man, we gotta let that be.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
Let that be the teaser.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
No, No, let's let's let that be the teaser, because
we're gonna keep it going. Because we still have not
gotten to the bench of the San Antonio Spurs.

Speaker 6 (14:36):
Uh we we have.

Speaker 4 (14:38):
We have not touched on that part of the leg yet.
Of the San Antonios. We're gonna touch on them a
little bit more.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
And Victor Women, Yama and the rest of the NBA
because there's some things going on in legal front two
as well.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
Uh, we get we're gonna touch on all of those.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Those things and more. You're listening to up on Game.
That's cuffs the legend. We got my mad Plexico Burds here.
I'm LeVar Arrington. We're gonna take a quick break and
on the other side, we'll be right back. This is
Fox Sports Radio speaking of NBA. All the players are back.
We were just talking about Victor Winbin Yama. We were
talking about some other guys, the Skinny Luca. Yeah, we

Wow, Yeah, I'll hit you.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
You can still go? Which you want to get out?
You know that's the question.

Speaker 10 (18:39):
Yeah, I'll buy a one way ticket to Portland. Guys,
We've got some NFL news on this Saturday. The Baltimore
Ravens today officially ruling out Lamar Jackson for tomorrow's game
against the Chicago Bears, so he'll miss his third consecutive
game due to a hamstring injury. Tyler Huntley going to
get the start at quarterback. The New York Post reported
that the New York Jets are ruling out to Rod
Taylor for their game on Sunday at Cincinnati due to

(19:02):
a knee injury. Justin Fields, we'll get the start in
at quarterback tomorrow for the Jets. Let's say if we
can get a preview year the.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
Jets have won the toss that are elected not.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
To play anyway.

Speaker 10 (19:13):
In college football, Number two Number two Indiana has now
widened it to a twenty eight to nothing lead over UCLA.
Six thirty five left to play in the second quarter.
We've got seventh ranked Georgia Tech up ten to three
over Syracuse with four h nine left to play in
the second quarter. Eighth ranked Ole Miss a fifteen to

(19:34):
ten lead at number thirteen Oklahoma, three point fifty seven
left to play in the first half, and North Carolina
and sixteenth ranc Virginia tied at ten forty six seconds
left play in the second quarter. Number eighteen South Florida
a twenty one to seven lead at Memphis. They've got
four to twenty one left in the second quarter. There tonight,

(19:55):
of course, at eight pm Eastern, Game two of the
World Series from Toronto with the Blue Jay is up
one nothing over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Guys, back to you.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
Appreciated all love All right, fellas, have at it. I mean,
where y'all want to start do? Y'all want to start
with the Spurs and continuation from what the last segment was.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Y'all want to transition where y'all want to go? Like
this is your you know, this is some dude session.
This is where I want to start. I want to
start with the my Eastern Conference sleepers, and it's the
Philadelphia seventy six. Oh gosh, they are. They're a sleeper
right now because nobody's talking about them. Everybody's so concerned

(20:36):
about the New York Knicks and obviously the Tyree'se Halliburn
injury and the Jason Tatum injury. I think it's a
three horse race in the Eastern Conference this year. I
think it's going to be the Cleveland Cavaliers, the New
York Knicks, and the Philadelphia seventy six. Barring we gotta
get They gotta find a way to keep Joel and

(20:58):
be healthy. And what I've seen and what everybody's talking about,
is this young rookie visa edge. Everybody knows that Paul
George has been having some injury issues over the last
couple of years. But if he can go out and
be that guy, you know, he's not starting. He didn't,
he didn't start. But I do think that the longer
that Paul George is out, he's gonna work his way

(21:21):
into the starting lineup. I don't know if they was
gonna sit the Anthony Milton or Jaden Spring on one
of those two guys, but if he can go out
on those in those games, when Paul George is not
available and he can give you a twenty or twenty
five point night. I think that that's a great substitute
for the Celtics, but without having Paul George and if

(21:43):
we can, if they can find a way to keep
him be healthy. Everybody knows what Tyrrook maxy. He's one
of the under not talked about enough superstars in the game.
At forty points the other night against the Celtics. My
Philadelphia seventy six is are the.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
Sleeper Philadelphia because your your six years Why how do
you how you with the six Ers player?

Speaker 6 (22:08):
Is that what it is?

Speaker 2 (22:09):
I'm just saying that I'm an East Coast guy.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
I'm a coach guy. Man plex you from v A
Dog you Bob Hey, that's my god.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Man, listen the Hornets Like I'm just saying, Man, if
when Joel Imbi is healthy, man, he's one of the
best players in the world. He just hasn't been able
to stay healthy. And Paul just hasn't either. It's time
for the Philadelphia six Is to get back to being
one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. And

(22:40):
I just mentioned what needs to happen. And this young
kid VJ Edge come in. I believe that he's going
to be a special young player back black.

Speaker 6 (22:50):
I see the vision plat. Can we put our GM
head on flax, want to put our GM hats on?
Can we do that? Yes, sir, DJ Edgecomb. We saw
him at Baylor. We've seen him at high school in
the high school grass roofs rings I see. I've seen
him play when he was like an aau kid in
middle schooler. I saw it at that age. I saw

(23:12):
like a Victor Oladipot athleticism like prime Ola Depot. People
forget how Victor used to jump out of the gym
and give you twenty five that I see the I
see the Jimmy Butler hunger. This is a kid that
him and his mom lived off a generator in the

(23:32):
Bamas where he's from. He is from the real trenches.
So what's your theme? Is the athleticism and the and
the and just the gifts, because no I have I
haven't seen a kid six four jump like that since
probably d Wade and d Wade's like sixty three in
real life. So it's like Edgecombe and Tyres Maxie. I

(23:56):
agree with you. Mb is an MVP top two in
the world. Embiid is better than Jokics when they're both
one hundred percent. Like he you know, he's never been
held wearing he's wearing the sketchers. It might I don't
know the sketchers he's wearing. But like what ice happening?
Is ic Philly trading Embiid maybe to the West Coast? Wow?

(24:21):
And you can still get twenty five minutes a game.
If you can still get twenty five to twenty eight minutes,
if you get thirty minutes from Embiids because right now
he's on a minute restriction. They played the Charlotte Hornet
to night. I would take the sixth money line as
as you because I think you know you can. You're
not going to be able to stop Tyrey's Maxie. He's
gonna give you a thirty ball. Now he's looking like

(24:42):
a young Alan Iverson. So I feel like you got
the most athletic young backcourt probably in the East and
in the league. Right now. It's promising. So I do agree, pleue.
We got to take podcast. P Paul George, you know,
do your pod man. We love your podcast, you know,
go ahead and launch because you've been still in CHECKSPJ.
You've been stealing checks. You got nice shoes, but you've

(25:02):
been stealing check for a lot of years. I think
it's time for Philly to build around four eas Maxi
and VJ ed Comb. Even Tobien Harris is still reliable.
Harris has went to Philly and he's a fan favorite now.
So I like the direction that Sixers are going. The
energy is there. But I will say you left one
team off flash. You didn't mention the Orlando Magic. My

(25:24):
brother Desmond Bain in Orlando. That's the biggest acquisition.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
I feel like I get it, but I just can't
put the Orlando Magic in front of the Philly itself.
Philad up in six Sixes right now?

Speaker 6 (25:40):
Whoa going on? I think they'll beat the Sixers in
a series in like six games games with the Calves
fast year in the playoff I thing or six Maybe No,
they weren't saving. They've been sitting there with the Calves.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
And you're saying that because your guy from Duke is
excelling down in ORLANDI thank you, slick. Yeah yeah me
by yeah you think you slick. Your man is down
there in Orlando putting up good numbers. Just got a
new contract. He's just so congress to him, all right.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
Let's do it. Let's let's do it. It's time, It's time.
All right, here we go.

Speaker 6 (26:23):
So uh.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
Chouncy Billups, Damon Jones, Terry Rosier all arrested in gambling sting. Uh.
Gilbert Arena, it's not too long ago, was in an
arrest due to the same exact thing with cards, a
legal card dealing and connected to the mob. The what
was it, the Turkish mob. I don't know what, but
but this one is connected to the mob as well,

(26:46):
reports say.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (26:48):
Also the idea that that maybe Gilbert Arena sang sang
a sing sing a song.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
You know, he came into his podcast the other day dancing.

Speaker 6 (26:57):
With a with a.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
With a with a with a breakfast a paper bag
that had what have on it had something about yeah, formnut, lunch. God,
we we got sound we got we got what we
got sound on talk to me? No, no, no, no, lunch.

Speaker 6 (27:21):
Just got back. I got a big record.

Speaker 7 (27:24):
I'm I'm a sixth man. It man, my lunch man.
I ain't get to eat it over there. Man, I
was talking too much.

Speaker 4 (27:39):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
He I mean he is a jokester of mass proportion.
I mean, but there could be some truth to this.
I mean, I mean almost in some instances, it may
have to be some truth in this. Dude came home
just way too quickly, way too early.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
With with a smile on his face. I don't know,
but yeah, what you're thinking, cuffs.

Speaker 6 (27:58):
I'm thinking. I'm thinking like this might be a Sammy
de Bull Gravano type situation with Gilbert Arena is like
like bull because yip, but Arenas does have you know?
He he's laughing, but it's a lot of pain behind
them smiles gil It's some hot water. Because the thing
with Chauncey Billups that I can't understand. I can't see

(28:20):
the fathom in process. I just can't believe a guy
with a good reputation like Chauncey billups like I don't
understand why he would risk his NBA coaching career. Like
you see the upstart Blazers right now. I love the Blazers.
By the way, you've seen Denny Evada. I think I
pronounce his name right. He got a crazy name to
young kids. You got Shaden Sharp, you got Drew Holliday,
you know Dame on the bench. He's stilling street clothes.

(28:42):
But you got Donovan Cleanland. I love the Blazers, Like,
why would you risk your coaching career behind some illegal
poker games? Like it's absolutely mind bothering to me that
they would risk it all just to get that dopamine hit.
And that's what I feel like it is. I feel
like a lot of these retired players, like they're rich
and board like a lot of them, and they're you know, gambling.

(29:04):
It is like a vice because it just gives you
that adrenaline rush, I feel like, and that hit that
you used to get from like playing competitive sports all
those years and now you're sitting around with this money
and or can you be like I said, you're just bored?
And these guys getting that in that circle man, and
it becomes competitive. But from what I'm hearing, it's even
more people implicated. Like I know some of these guys

(29:25):
in real life. So it's like I just was talking
to Damon Jones, like the day before this happened on Twitter.
So it's like we were talking about the Lakers on
Twitter and the next day I seed his headlines and
it's like, Yo, this is serious business because they're mentioning
the maffigat names, the Genovesi families and the Coaster and
Nosters and it's like, no, this is a serious business.

(29:46):
And I know we all love sports betting, but like
I feel like with this, I just don't see why
these guys was risk their their reputations, their NBA coaching.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Do you think he knew that that it was illegal
puff games going on? You think that really knew that?

Speaker 6 (30:01):
And yet from what you could see, the documents are
out there, like these guys they caught. The case is
called like Operation Fish or something, so that like they
were seeking out people and they were cheating their friends
out of thousands and thousands of dollars, like giving their
their betting friends. Like inside it's like inside of trading. Basically,

(30:25):
they was inside of training. Like me, I have people
who pay me for my picks. In the sports betting industry,
it's a whole industry out here. So it's like people
want that intel and a lot of guys are around
these players, and it's like sometimes some nights you might
know that God might be injured, or he might be
dealing with a hamstring, or he might be dealing with whatever,

(30:46):
or he might not be playing that night. We saw
what Terry Roseier did, like Terry rose Here was committing
turnovers on purpose, just like the movie Blue Chips. They're
blue Chips, say it ain't. So it's like this is
a real wins in a real life like a movie

(31:08):
in real life.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
I just don't know how I would feel as a
player having known that you was out there like really
like busting your ass competing and trying to win games
in any sport, and you found out that one of
your teammates was just purposely not trying to win. I

(31:31):
don't know how we feel about that person moving forward.
I really don't. Because you play together and you trust
each other enough, that's the model, and competing is you
go out and you give everything that you have and
you and to find out that you have one guy

(31:54):
that was out there purposely not trying to try in
his best and trying to win games, that's that's just
a little too much for me based off of, you know,
my love for competing and going out and giving my
guys everything that I have every single day.

Speaker 6 (32:14):
It makes you feel like it makes you feel like
we're watching wrestling right like it's somewhat scripted, it's somewhat
stage like the jig is really hovering, are they really playing?
Are they really just sold out intelligence some night? And
Terry Rojire I hate to keep bringing his name up,
but he's the most recent guy that's implicated. And it's
like if you go back and watch those highlights that

(32:35):
they pointed out, like Michael Porter, Junior's brother that he
was like the first big names. I think it was
John Say Porter, like his brother. He was the first name,
but he wasn't really a big name. So the story
didn't really blow up. As imagine it's certain names right
now because from what I'm hearing, it's gonna be a
ground swell of names that coming from this. So we
saw Kevin Garnett, it was like the uncut Gems movie

(32:58):
in real life.

Speaker 4 (33:00):
Let me ask you that.

Speaker 6 (33:02):
Taylor movie with KG. It's like in real life, we
got we got.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
One, we got time for one more question and and
kind of a brief, you know, answer to it.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
But what does the NBA.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
The NBA has been fighting a declining amount of popularity,
not not my words, just kind of what the numbers
say and in all of the categories of like you know,
TV ratings and stuff like that. Just the relevance is
it's been a struggle since the nineties.

Speaker 4 (33:35):
Uh for the n b A. What do they do
when something like this is a direct hit to the
image of the league?

Speaker 3 (33:46):
How how do they you know, you're already fighting trying
to be relevant, you're trying to build stars.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
How do how do they move forward from this? Fellas?

Speaker 6 (33:59):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (34:00):
I don't know, man, I really don't. And we had
this conversation last year about the salaries of what what
some of these guys are making forty and fifty million
dollars a year and now now based off of what
just happened this week, you know, I think you're going
to have less viewers, You're going to have less fans attending. Uh,

(34:22):
you know these basketball games? So what did that? What
does that do? What ramifications are going up? Pop up?
If you're not putting people in the seats and people
are not attending games.

Speaker 6 (34:34):
Then did you see did you did you see Jalen
Brown's comments that shoot around before the next game? They
do not bet on me, man. The funny side, the
flip side fact is a lot of my guys that
I know and that I'm friends with the real life,
they're play in the league. You know, currently in former, like,
these guys deal with a lot of like verbal harassment

(34:56):
people DM and them guys gotta like, uh, you know,
they got to shut their the grams down because they
get bombarded by real sports better than people, I mean
just fans that bet on sports. And so that's another
angle of it where these guys are like, man, like
you said, the integrity is gone. So like you said,
you on the court, you're trying to go hard in
the regular season falls, but you're trying to go hard
and win games, and your teammate is taking the under

(35:19):
your teammate is out here turn the ball over on purpose.
I don't know the real the real hooper in me.
I couldn't respect that one of my teammates was like
really doing this, like the Terry Rozier thing. It's like, man,
like you said, players, I can't look at you the
same man because I feel like Tom Brady would never
do this. Michael Jordan would never. I don't flay Jordan
was matter of fact.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
The more I think about it, about to say, hold
on now, don't get carried of what hey, don't get
caared away.

Speaker 4 (35:47):
I play baseball for a little bit off of that.

Speaker 6 (35:51):
It's like breaking news. I LeVar, you see you see
what I'm saying. I think that might be. That might
be why Mike went to the Burmah one hundred.

Speaker 4 (36:01):
Bro has gotta be.

Speaker 6 (36:06):
Take some time off, Mike, take go to Birmingham, you know,
gives give the people that little story about you always
wanted to play baseball. Because I'm I'm gonna tell y'all
this like this. If Lebron James would have took a
two year hiatus a couple of years ago, what would
people have said about Lebron James. The speculation would have.

Speaker 4 (36:25):
Been crazy right now, it would have been crazy.

Speaker 6 (36:27):
Yeah, So Michael Jordan did that and the.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
Coverage wasn't even nowhere near as crazy as it is now.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
Keep that on.

Speaker 6 (36:34):
We don't have social we didn't have social media back.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
Here we go with this.

Speaker 6 (39:57):
Note for some guts.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
Are you up on game? Let's crank this out, let's
crank it up down on game?

Speaker 6 (40:05):
All right?

Speaker 4 (40:06):
Well, yeah, what was what was the results last week?

Speaker 5 (40:08):
Honestly, one of my prouder weeks for you guys. You
went three and three, TJ went three and three, Plaques
went four and two. So that's all that's right, Yeah, No,
that's that's all good.

Speaker 3 (40:19):
Right.

Speaker 5 (40:21):
This week with Cuffs back with the NBA back, We're
gonna start in the Association. The Chicago Bulls head to
Orlando to take on the Magic. The Magic a five
and a half point favorite at home, and the total
is currently set at two hundred and thirty two and
a half, which is gonna take them getting used to
when we do this segment, So LaVar will start.

Speaker 4 (40:38):
With you tell me it again, hit me with it again.

Speaker 5 (40:41):
The Magic are favored by five and a half. The
total is two thirty two and a half.

Speaker 4 (40:45):
Right, who are they planned? The Bulls? The Bulls.

Speaker 3 (40:51):
I'm gonna take the under on the points, but I'd
definitely like the way to Magic our planned.

Speaker 4 (40:56):
So I'm gonna take them to cover.

Speaker 2 (40:59):
I'm taking it to win, and I'm taking over on
the points. What you got, Cuff, come on, Cuffs, don't
be scared.

Speaker 6 (41:08):
Bounce back.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
I'm taking the Magic money line.

Speaker 4 (41:12):
Okay, all right, money line.

Speaker 6 (41:14):
They aren't they the favorites in the favorite They're gonna
get it's gonna take it over as well. They're gonna
put up and down up.

Speaker 4 (41:20):
And timbo game, all right.

Speaker 5 (41:23):
Next up, we have these Charlotte Hornets in Philadelphia to
take on these Sixers. The Sixers a four and a
half point favorite, the total two thirty seven and a half,
and Cuffs will start with you, dude, I'm.

Speaker 6 (41:34):
Taking Tyree Mac and VJ EDG. Calm's gonna I'm gonna
take the Underdough. I think the Hornets probably have a
bad jew Knight on the road, Cat Tom the Keys
take picked them picked up, Pick of the wind that one.

Speaker 4 (41:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (41:45):
I'm definitely taking the Sixers to win against the Charlote Hornets,
and they're gonna cover and on cover the sport the
spread at minus four.

Speaker 3 (41:53):
Yeah, I think I think the Sixers are cover the
spread as well. But I'm gonna take the under.

Speaker 1 (41:57):
On the points, all right.

Speaker 5 (41:59):
Finally, Aaron Right takes on the Green Bay Packers, the
Packers on the road in Pittsburgh. The Packers a three
point favorite here. The total is forty.

Speaker 4 (42:07):
Five and a half. The Packers are favorite, yes, three
point rows.

Speaker 2 (42:12):
Oh no, I'm going with still a nation one. I
like to Willia that Ann Rodgers commanded his offense. Uh so,
so I'm taking the Pittsburgh Steelers in. I'm taking the
over on the points.

Speaker 4 (42:26):
Go ahead, Cauch.

Speaker 6 (42:27):
I'm taking the Packers because the Stiller cannot run the
football Dayla Warren, he's good game, weell cooler, too small,
And I'll take the under on the point.

Speaker 3 (42:37):
I'm gonna take that three. I'm gonna fade that three,
so I don't think they'll cover cover that point spread.
So I guess I'm gonna take the the Steelers on
that one, and I'll take the what is over under?
I mean a half total of forty five? Yeah, I'll
take the under on that as well. I'm not gonna
go with that anyways. Hope you guys enjoyed the show.

(42:59):
