overall and that nine and plaques man, you are a
seven five seven product. Ain't everybody who flat was growing
up around her?
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Many agree of the best to ever do it on
and off the field. Live from the tire rack dot
Com studio, So Fox Sports Radio, here's pro bowlers LaVar
Airy Tet, TJ, Hushman, Zanna and Silver Bowl champion Plaxico Burrets.
Speaker 3 (00:46):

tire buying should be. We got a lot to get
to this hour. Cuffs the legend from some dude show
from up on Game Network, up on Game Presents will
be coming on shortly. But before we go to round ball,
(01:30):
let's keep it football for a minute, and let's let's
try to tackle a couple of topics before we get
into to basketball. All right, so we got TJ with us.
Plexico's out right now, but let's let's let's talk about
this whole. I got a couple of things I want
to talk about. One, let's talk about Aaron Rodgers Man.
(01:54):
He returns to practice TJ, and his return has generated
and sparked tremendous conversation surrounding his possible return to play. Now,
for me, I think that that is the most ridiculous
(02:16):
thing to think that he's going to come back to
play for a couple different reasons. My first reason being
I just don't think that that's an injury that you
should rush. In fact, any major surgery that you get,
I just don't think that you rush your recovery to
the point of where it's something that you come back
(02:39):
too soon. I just don't. I don't think that that's
wise to do, even if you feel confident about it.
Even if you think, you know whatever, your medicine, your treatment,
all that stuff has been top notch and is the
best of the best. I just don't think that's something
that you do. And then secondly, what for, Like, what
(03:00):
exactly are you rushing back for? I just don't see
the point of it. But what's your take on the
Aaron Rodgers situation?
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Football players want to play football, and Aaron Rodgers is
a football player that wants to play football.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
Now what he is trying to do?
Speaker 4 (03:24):
Obviously, no has any nobody has ever seen somebody just
under those words, I tore my achilles and I'm coming
back to play the same season. That has never happened,
And so everybody's up in arms about it because something
(03:45):
that has never been done is possibly going to be done.
The thing that I the thing that I don't understand
is the Jets are a long shot to make the playoffs.
Now are you coming back just to play? You're coming
(04:05):
back to help your team get in the playoffs, or
you're coming back to show I'm doing something that nobody's
ever done.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
I told you I would do it, and so which
one is it?
Speaker 6 (04:15):
Now?
Speaker 4 (04:15):
The thing you got to be careful because this isn't
the best offensive line. You are doing something from a
medicine standpoint, the rehab standpoint that is unknown. Could you
be possibly risking yourself for further injury and now next
(04:36):
season could be.
Speaker 5 (04:40):
A problem. So you you when I.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Say you, the Jets, Aaron Rodgers, the doctors, they got
to be careful with this. I know each and every
year medicine advances. These doctors are smarter, They're trying things,
and obviously Aaron Rodgers was a guinea pig in this experiment.
But do you want to risk it with somebody that
just turned forty behind a bad offensive line for a
(05:06):
team that isn't going to the playoffs. That's a risky
proposition if you ask me.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Yeah, I tend to agree with that. But let's see
what happens. I mean, it is interesting conversation to see
if it happens, and if it were to happen, what
does that look like? And you gotta believe he's it's
a foregone conclusion, he's comeback player of the year if
that happens. Another quarterback that I would like to discuss
(05:38):
and get your opinion on is Dak Prescott. You know,
I've always been a tough critic, even going back to
our days at FS one, when we were doing a
really really good show called Speak for Yourself with one
Jason Whitlock, we used to discuss Dak quite a bit
(05:58):
on the show. We discussed that is quite a bit.
I've always been a harsh critic of Dak Prescott. I
gotta say today, the way I'm feeling about Dak is
it's evolving. I guess it's changing. He's he's making me
feel differently about him. I feel like he's playing at
(06:20):
a very very high level. Uh. He seems to be
finding a rhythm that makes him a pretty dangerous quarterback.
Do you see him as as league MVP right now?
What's your what's your opinions on him right now? And
the way he's playing well League MVP, he's one of
(06:41):
the guys that should be a finalist if he continues
to play this well. I don't know if I see
him as a leading candidate for the MVP at the
National Football League. Dak Prescott is playing okay, really good
football right now, the best football I believe he's played
in his career.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
But but we got to put this in perspective. The
Dallas Cowboys win over the Seahawks. That's the first win
that they have over a team with a winning record
this season. Everybody else that they've beaten that team has
a losing record. And Dak is playing the best football
(07:21):
that we've seen him play. Him and Mike McCarthy now
have a rhythm. They have an understanding of what Dak
likes to do and what McCarthy wants to do, and
that chemistry that they have.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
It's starting to show.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Ceedee Lamb is playing football now, really good football. Yes,
they've gotten Brandon Cooks involved in the offense after he
wasn't involved at all really early in the season. It
was like, why they signed Brandon Cooks? This is why
they signed Brandon Cooks and so balling the Cowboys. This
is probably the best Dallas Cowboys team in recent memory,
(08:00):
you know, top to bottom. And the crazy thing is
Trayvon Daggs is not even playing and they still this
is still the best team that they have. And for
the Cowboys, it's gonna be can they win a playoff game?
Can they win a playoff game? The MVP vote will
be decided by then, but it's it's for Dak and
(08:25):
the Cowboys. Let's go win a playoff game first. I
don't believe the Cowboys are on the level of the
San Francisco forty nine ers. They play the Eagles again,
so we'll see how that goes. But the Eagles, they
may have homeful advantage locked in in so they may
(08:47):
not play they guys. But Dak Prescott is playing good football.
He no no denying that the best football he's played.
Like I said, can he continue to do this? And
can he do it against teams that are playing for something,
against teams that have winning records, against teams that are
(09:09):
fighting to get into the playoffs, and then when you
get into the playoffs, let's beat these playoff caliber teams.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Yeah, we talked about the Bills heading into hour two,
coming out of hour one, and you know Josh Allen
how he's playing. But in terms of what they could
possibly do as a team at him as a quarterback,
(09:37):
They're one of those teams I look at and I say,
I wonder how far they can go. I'm looking at
Dallas the same exact way at the quarterbacks position, and
as a team, how far can this team go? The
defense plays very well, I mean outside of outside of
Miles Garrett in Cleveland. I think Michael Parsons has to
(10:01):
be looked at as the defense of the MVP of
the league. I think he's arguably the most dominant football
player in the game right now, and his impact on games.
Their defense is pretty good. Now, they did go after
your boy on the outside this this, this week, this
past week, and Seattle did.
Speaker 5 (10:23):
Yeah, that's fine, go after him, that's fine, Lamart.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
He did have some some real success on him too.
Speaker 5 (10:28):
That's fine.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Wonder what that looks like moving forward? God, what do
you think.
Speaker 5 (10:32):
He got beat? This National Football League? Baby a lot?
Speaker 3 (10:35):
This a lot?
Speaker 5 (10:36):
Yeah, that's okay, this this NFL.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Like.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
You don't think DK work at his craft. You don't
think Tyler Lockett working at his craft. You don't think
Jackson Smith and Jick but was working at his You're
gonna get beat. But he also made his plays. And
so when this is the best of the best, man,
welcome to the NFL. Uh, both sides of the ball.
(11:00):
Every team got players on it that want it the
same way that you want it, some more than other,
Some may't work harder another, but you're gonna get beat.
Can you make your share of plays and he did that.
But go back to that game. You just spoke of
Michael Parson as being a defensive player of the Year.
Can you explain to me what type of offensive play do.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
You have where we ain't blocking as you would say, sticks.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
Sticks city number eleven, fourth down and you leave him
on you leave him Are you kidding me?
Speaker 5 (11:41):
That was the That was the play design.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
Like it really just makes me go hmmm with some
of these coaches and their play design, are you kidding me?
But if you go back to that final drive, to me,
a big play was the second down play and it
gets glossed over. No offense was open in the flat.
Gino Smith skipped the ball to him, and I was
(12:04):
watching the game, I'm like.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
Kind of throw was that?
Speaker 4 (12:08):
Yeah, he had a little pressure on him, but he
could have completed that ball. It was a short throw,
easy throw. He skipped it to him. They didn't get
They didn't get a yard on third down. Obviously they
didn't get a yard on fourth. Now that second down
play was critical, but the fourth down play boggles my
mind that you don't block Micah Parsons, who was the
(12:30):
best defensive player on that field. I don't care what
play week. Once I see he's lined up there, and
I'm like, oh no, this the play? Time out timeout? Yeah,
de layed games something something something. You can't just run that.
I can't run that play as a quarterback. When you
(12:51):
see that.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
That's a great point. I didn't even think of it
that way. That's a great point, dude.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
Micah Parsons is checked us out as big as he is.
Microh Parsons might be the fastest defensive player on the
Cowboys team, and you're gonna leave him unblocked, that big
joker as fast as he is, Like time out delay
(13:15):
a gang. We can't run this play. He gonna be
in the backfield before I get the ball. Like, what
are we doing designing plays that way? When you know
that place shouldn't even been in a game plan because
of the fact that the Dallas Cowboys defensive line they
really get up the field and penetrate. They get up
(13:38):
the field. They're not that let's see what they're doing
defensive front. They are applying pressure as soon as the
center snaps the ball. That place shouldn't even been in
the game plan because you know, Dallas is an attacking
style defense. That type of protection doesn't work against that
type of defense. But again, I'm just a guy that
watches the game man and just you know, see what's
(13:59):
going on.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
And that guy that just told you that that's seeing
what's going on, that's t J. Hutchman saida. I'm LeVar
Ington on the other side of the break. Yep, we're
gonna bring him in cups, the legend NBA analysts. Some
dude show on up on Game Network. We're gonna talk

Always, I would never turn down airtime, okay, especially on
such a big day.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Let's get let's do it.
Speaker 8 (16:14):
Conference Championship Saturday. In college football, starting with the Big
Twelve Conference championship game at AT and T Stadium in Arlington.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Defense defense.
Speaker 8 (16:29):
Anybody won play defense, because with five minutes and fifty
seconds left to play in the second quarter, Texas has
a twenty eight to fourteen lead over Oklahoma State. The
star of the show individually has been Texas quarterback Quinn
Ewers sixteen out of eighteen for two hundred and sixty
(16:51):
five yards, three touchdown passes, and again we're just over
halfway through the second quarter. But the Longhorns also getting
it done on the ground. That's how they scored their
fourth touchdown of the first half.
Speaker 3 (17:04):
Baxter off set for the luck side of viewers.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
On second down, my hand off to the right side,
Baxter inside.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
The five to the three, the goal run touchdown. Texas
C J.
Speaker 8 (17:14):
Baxter just kept shedding tacklers and ran hard, ran tough
into the end zone and the long wards strike again
glad he said, shedding there. That was Craig Way with
the call on k v Et. It could have gone
either way.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
You're absolutely right.
Speaker 8 (17:31):
Five point fifty left to play, second quarter Big Twelve
Title game. It's seventh ranked Texas leading number eighteen Oklahoma
State twenty eight to fourteen. We've also got considerable NFL
news on this Saturday morning, starting with the Cleveland Browns
officially elevating Joe Flacco from their practice squad to their
active roster for tomorrow's road game against the Rams, so
(17:53):
he would be in line to get the start if
Dorian Thompson Robinson, who's in concussion protocol, is unable to play.
NFL media reports that the New York Jets and veteran
safety Adrian Amos have mutually agreed to part ways. The
Detroit Lyons a short time ago ruled out a linebacker
alex Anzeloni from tomorrow's game at New Orleans because of
(18:15):
a hand injury. Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Peterson said
today that he expects running back Travis Eatien to be
able to play on Monday Night football against the Cincinnati
Bengals despite a rib Andrey LeVar back to you, thanks.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Allo, enjoy your day, my guy, Hope, have a good
day to day. All right, thank you there, You're welcome.
Without further ado, let's get the cuffs. Let's go.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Now, it's time to check in with cuffs. The legend
from some Dude Show podcast on Up on Game Presents,
Cuffs is giving you his spicy takes on what's going down?
Speaker 3 (18:53):
You can pick the.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Heat like Lebron and now here's Cuffs the Legend.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
It's gown Cuffs the Legend his hair with us. Let's
talk some roundball. Good brother, how you feeling? First and
foremost house your Saturday going man?
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Glorious Saturday Man, LeVar TJ Man. The theme music is dope.
Speaker 6 (19:21):
Man.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
I feel like y'all remember the movie I'm Going to
Get You Sucker.
Speaker 6 (19:26):
Remember that movie?
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Of course, I feel like I feel like Jack Spade
right now when he said every people he wrote need
some theme music.
Speaker 6 (19:34):
I'm see you right now.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
That's why we had to go ahead and do bring
you in the right way man, like you've been crushing
it so much. We just had to go ahead and
make sure it was official. My guy, you know what
I mean?
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Yes, sir, I feel it.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
I appreciate it, brother, indeed, so so talk to us.
What's what's your what's your hot takes this week on
what's going on in the NBA?
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Well, I'm getting geared up. I'm getting geared up for
Las Vegas Man the n season tournament. Uh, he's coming
this Monday and Tuesday. The quarterfinals, we got the Lakers
and the Suns. You know, lebron kd. We're not going
to get too many more of these legendary matchups. So
quarterfinals we got the Suns and Lakers. The Lakers kind
of reeling right now. They're missing Vanderbilt. He's coming back,
(20:19):
Cha Morris coming back.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
You know.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
D'Angelo Russell is playing well right now. I can't lie.
He's playing well.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
He cooking right now.
Speaker 2 (20:29):
He won't fool me.
Speaker 6 (20:30):
TJ, he won't fool me.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
D Loo is playing great, he cooking, playing some of
the best backtball of his life.
Speaker 6 (20:36):
But I'm still not sold.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
On d Lo. But we gonna see Man. We're gonna
see Las Vegas. Hopefully the Lakers can make it to
that final four. The Kings are surgeon right now, you know,
d Aaron Fox looking like a top three MVP candidate.
Zion is playing well, So that matchup gonna be good.
But I just hope the basketball guds give us what
we all want. Lakers and Celtics in Vegas for the
(20:58):
n season championship. That's what I hope we get as
a basketball fan, man, I hope we get to see
the Lakers and Celtic. So the Celtics are the hardest
team in the league right now outside of the Magic.
Remember last episode I told Joe about those Orlando Magic
they won nine games in a row. They've won nine
games in a row. Man, shout out the coach Moseley
down there, hollow Ben Caro. He making that second year lead.
(21:21):
Franz Wagner. Nobody's talking about Franz Wagner, but he's hooping
down in Orlando. Coch Anthony's looking like a six man candidate.
I'm loving what I'm seeing from the Magic too.
Speaker 5 (21:31):
Hey, Couch, let me ask you this.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
So Lebron comes out and says, you know, now that
Bronnie has been cleared, if his first game falls on
the Laker game, he going to watch Bronnie play?
Speaker 6 (21:44):
Yes, sir, Hey, what if.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
It falls on the man season tournament game? But what
happens then, Oh.
Speaker 6 (21:52):
That's a good question.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
If it's Encon tournament, I think he I think bron
might have to make a tough call there, because I
don't think it's about the money with broun For It's
kind of different with him. But you know, being to
his son, you know, experienced a very traumatic heart condition
where he had a tough situation where he could have
lost his life that day. And to be real, so
I think he's looking at the big picture. And a
lot of guys was laughing and joking when he said
(22:14):
that to this team, but it's like, look, man, I'm
in your twenty one family over everything. Like, I think
he really had a scary, scary moment for their family
seeing that happened to Brownie. So I wouldn't fault Braun
for just saying, you know what, man, even though he
in the n Season Tournament, whenever that is, when Brownie
makes his debut, I'm gonna be Coursey because life is precious.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
Bro.
Speaker 6 (22:37):
Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
Disagree with that at all. Talk to me about Boston though,
How are you feeling about them and where they at this?
Does this lineup hit you strike you the right way?
Is it panning out the way that they anticipated? And
to that point, let's throw Milwaukee in there as well.
(22:58):
How are they to you in your estimation? Does this
team look better post Drew Holliday or is it you know,
obviously you'd assume that they'd be better, but you know,
the Bucks and the Celtics. Those are the two teams
that everybody really is looking at in the East. What's
(23:18):
your take on them so far?
Speaker 2 (23:21):
The Celtics. Men, the Celtics are doing what everybody expected
them to do. They sit on top of the East
right now, fifteen or four. They won three in a row.
But I even said this yesterday on Twitter watching the Celtics.
They are very top heavy, like their top six to
seven guys in the rotation.
Speaker 6 (23:36):
Man can play with anybody, holiday JB JT.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
Porzingi's Derrick White, ball headed, Dereck White. They hooping right now.
I mean even Peyton Fridget is coping. But I just
don't trust Boston because we've seen them fow the last
couple times in the big moments, even in the finals
a couple of years ago. But I think Boston needs
to go out and get one more piece. They can
be like a three and D guy, somebody on the wing,
(24:00):
just to take the pressure off. They they need some
extra scoring punches, what I'm saying. So I'm loving what
I'm seeing from Boston. They're gonna be there at the end.
Milwaukee's starting to play a little better. Damon Damian Lillard
and Joanna's is starting to figure it out. The first
couple of games, you could see it was kind of
like they was playing my turnball your turn. You know,
they was going back and forth. But I think now
Jannis is realizing and Dame they both realizing that it's
(24:22):
all about the hot hand each night. You know, it's
all about who's really have that hot handed the end.
And also Chris Middleton. The Bucks gotta make a decision
about Chris Milton. His contract is kind of crazy, so
it's gonna be hard to move Middleton. But anytime you
have a guy like Middleton as your third score, because
he made some big shots the other night in Miami
(24:43):
when they got that game, he made some big shots
down the stretch. But I think at the end of
the day, man, even in the n season tournament, I
think we're going to see the Bucks and the Selsea.
We're gonna get a preview of the Eastern Conference finals
in Vegas.
Speaker 4 (24:55):
I think, hmm, interesting, what do you make of the
game last night Sixers and Celtics, And man, it seems
like it doesn't matter the league. Everybody is upset with her.
Jason Tatum, is he seems like just real mild matter, dude,
just real chill. But he was set off and was
(25:17):
ejected in the third quarter. What is going on the passion?
We know it was a big game, but it's early
in the season. Rarely do you see these type of
things happen, especially from a player like Jason Tatum, to
where this early in the season a game means that much.
Speaker 5 (25:34):
Traun whethy emotions get the most of them.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Yeah, can we talk about it, TJ. Because a lot
of people are saying the same thing. A lot of
people I talked to, they are frustrated with the NBA officiating.
The NBA officiating right now.
Speaker 6 (25:48):
I gotta keep it.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
It's trash.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
I've been in a lot of AU tournaments the last
fifteen years. When I went to these AU tournaments all
these years coaching training, just being in the gym. Reps
right now, they look like AU reps right now.
Speaker 6 (26:04):
Like the calls.
Speaker 2 (26:05):
You've seen Nikolai, You've seen Nakola Yokis get ejected a
few games ago, and yeah, yeah, you've seen Tatum, Like
you said, a mild manor guy you got the pretty hair.
He ain't bothering us. So they see the most low
key superstar and you see he getting ejected. They're getting
into it with everybody.
Speaker 6 (26:21):
It's real chippy.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
So I think sometimes with these reps man, I would
love to see their backgrounds because I think a lot
of these reps, man, they didn't make it in high
school in basketball, they didn't make it on any basketball level,
and they have they never probably admit it on camera
or publicly, but I think a lot of these NBA
reps are low key jealous that these guys are making
all this money playing basketball and they're living their dream
(26:43):
and they wish they could be out there. Sometimes I
think it's personal, is what I'm staying.
Speaker 6 (26:47):
With these refs, with these players like Foster and Chris
Paul situation, it is on.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
The res Goot, Foster should not he should not ref
any Chris Paul games because it's clear he's biased.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
One.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
He can't. He can't let that go. That's clear.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
The fact that the NBA continues to do that is
mind boggling. Like it's clear he's biased, he's biased, and
he oh, he can be a professional.
Speaker 5 (27:14):
No, he can't.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
He's biased, and it's shown time after time after time.
Just don't let him ref any of his games. What's
so hard about that?
Speaker 2 (27:25):
But I will say, man, Foster, he shouldn't be in
the same parking lot. He shouldn't be in the same
county lines with Chris Paul at this point, Bro, Like
he's on record saying stuff about it straining order. Yeah,
he should not be near that man. So to put him,
You've seen the playoff match the playoff match up the
last couple of years. He's reffing major games with major
money on the line, and you know it's a guy
(27:47):
with an agenda out there against a superstar. We shouldn't
see it. Well, I'm gonna say this though, going to
the n Cson Tournament, don't sleep on the Innyan of
paces because Tyre Tyree's Halliburton right now, ya, I'm telling you,
tyree'se Halliburton. I think in my seion, Tyree's Halliburton is
the best point guard in the whole NBA now that
(28:07):
the Eastern Conference. Look at his numbers right now, Look
at Tyree's numbers the last five games, thirty four points
of game, twelve assayst fifty three percent from the field,
forty six from three. These are crazy numbers. Like this season,
He's averaging twenty seven eleven. He's shooting fifty two, forty
five and eighty eight percent splits right now, point guard,
It's like a six five Jason.
Speaker 5 (28:28):
Kids that can shoot, that can shoot the rock.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
He got a little Reggie Miller in his game. I'm saying, like,
if I'm an Indiana Paysons fan right now, I'm a static.
I'm getting season tickets because.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
Of Halliburton, Halla Burton. All right, it's crazy. It's crazy.
It's crazy that Halliburton has that shot, and you know,
coming up, you know it ugly everybody hey, you know,
you know, going through the rakes, everybody wants to change
his shot.
Speaker 5 (28:58):
And now you're making a show. We just gonna leave it.
You know, they wanted to change that shot and they
didn't do it.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Got to leave him alone, man, because some guys got
weird for him. If you look at Reggie Miller shooting mechanics,
he had this guy hand wrong as he was thumbing
the ball. But it's all about feeling touch. And some
of the ugliest jumpers, like a Sean Marion shot to
Sean Marrion, to Matus, he had one of the ugliest
like a hot potato like he was shooting a hot potato.
Speaker 6 (29:23):
But it worked.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
So Tyree's Hemingberry man. That's my that's my pick right
now for MVP.
Speaker 6 (29:27):
Of the league. Right now. I'm going with Aliburton right now.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
A cups. I was asking you you have any more
hot takes that you got going on? But talk to
me about Russell Westbrook. I mean quietly, he's kind of,
you know, finding his way and finding stable ground with
his role with the Clips.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
Got keep it real with Got, keep it real on
the rough standpoint, the Ross front. Russell Westbrook, my brother.
Speaker 6 (29:56):
I want Russ.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
I want Russ to get out of LA. It didn't
work it with the Lakers. It's not working with the
Cliffs because here's what's really happened.
Speaker 6 (30:07):
From what I've heard on the inside.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
They brought in hardened, but the intension of eventually of
eventually moving on from Russ, as you've seen his minutes
decline a lot the last couple of games since Harden's
been in the mix. Russ west Brook, please, my brother,
go either back to Okay.
Speaker 6 (30:24):
See with those young boys, those young bloods.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Out there, okay see or Russ Popovich, Gregg Popovich, Wim
ben Yon. But those young boys, and with the Spurs
go to San Antonio Russ because Russ is always going
to be made to scapegoape man in these In these situations,
I don't like them. I like to fit before Harden came,
is what I'm saying. Bar Like, before Harden came in time,
(30:46):
I thought he was.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
I thought he was. I thought it was work like,
it was kind of like being talked about positively, like
it was, you know, getting getting stabilized. So that's that's
the But then how why get rid of them?
Speaker 4 (30:59):
Then?
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Does he need to leave.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
Because he's being demoted on the load. Look at the
minute decreased he's for his minutes are going down substantially
since Harden has arrived.
Speaker 6 (31:10):
Russ is not having Is that?
Speaker 3 (31:11):
Is that horrible? But is that a horrible thing.
Speaker 5 (31:16):
For Rosy?
Speaker 6 (31:16):
Thanks?
Speaker 2 (31:18):
I think Russ they were playing better with Russ as
their point guard than they were.
Speaker 6 (31:22):
We're harder than as their point guard.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
So now they're in the mix where it's egos the stars,
those guys egos man Russ the top seventy five player.
Now he's playing thirteen minutes, fourteen.
Speaker 6 (31:32):
Or fifteen minutes.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
He's not gonna be happy with that. It's going to
reach a bullet point, I think, so before it reaches
a bullying point like it did in LA, I say,
at the deadline, just find up for a happy forever
home for Russ.
Speaker 6 (31:45):
That's what I want to see.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
Okay, Well, listen up. That's that's Cuffs the Legend, y'all.
So make sure y'all check him out, NBA Analyst Expert,
super dope dude man. So yeah, yeah, you know he
got his theme music because well he's super you know
what I mean, from some dude show on up on
(32:10):
Game Network. Make sure you check him out. Dude is
an up and coming star, a beast. Make sure y'all
check out Cups of Legend, y'all. This is up on
game that's t J. Huschman's Ada. I'm LeVar Arrington. We're
gonna take a break, and on the other side of
this break, we're gonna we're gonna wrap up this show. Man.
We're gonna wrap it up, and we're gonna put a
(32:31):
bow on it and we're gonna pass it off over
to my man Jonas Knox. See what he does with it,
all right, So take a quick rest, real quick. Get
a simple water. You know what I mean, get your
little snack, whatever it may be. And on the other
side of this this break, yeah, yeah, the other side
of this break, we're gonna we're gonna wrap things up,
all right. So it's Fox Sports Radio Up on Game.
(32:54):
All right, everybody, welcome back into Up on Game. That's right,
We're live from tyraq dot com studio. It's TJ. Hushman's
out on LeVar Arrington. I hope you guys enjoyed the
show man. But before we get up out of here,
I gotta tell you, man, we had we had an
interesting thing take place on the football field and it
(33:18):
was kind of funny. And you know, things are said
when games are are concluded, and you know some of
it just shouldn't be shared or aired out, but you
know what, every once in a while gets caught and
in some way, somehow it goes viral. And they just
listened to and well, TJ your boy, your Brial Peppers
(33:39):
who plays for the New England Patriots. He had some
interesting comments for for Sa Kwon Barkley as they greeted
greeted each other at the conclusion of the game. Here's
what he had to say.
Speaker 8 (33:55):
The Giants defeat the Patriots ten to seven.
Speaker 5 (34:10):
Yeah, yeah, me personally. What lot did he tell the Patriots?
Speaker 4 (34:18):
Are asked? And he he said it exactly what they are.
The Patriots are not a good football team?
Speaker 6 (34:27):
Did it?
Speaker 4 (34:28):
Did it take him saying that for them to realize it,
for everybody else to realize it?
Speaker 7 (34:34):
Is that?
Speaker 3 (34:35):
But isn't that a tad bit like shocking? Doesn't that
like shock the system a little bit when you hear
a player like basically referenced their team like like you know,
I mean, yeah, you know it, But to hear one
of the players say it, and it's got a hit different.
Speaker 5 (34:54):
This is the thing.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
Though he didn't say they asked, he said we, So
he included himself in that as well. So like he
didn't absolve himself, he didn't exclude himself from that. He
put himself right in there. So I don't have a
problem with that.
Speaker 5 (35:10):
Man. It's like, listen, man, Bill.
Speaker 4 (35:13):
Belichick got these quarterbacks over there scared to throw the ball.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
Man.
Speaker 4 (35:18):
Them dudes are so scared and so nervous because they
don't know what's going to happen, and they wonder why
they're not playing.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
Well, is this it for Bill Belichick? I've been saying
for the last year or two that Bill Belichick his
seat has to be hot, like he's got to be
on the hot seat. That has to be what it is.
Nobody nobody would agree with me. Nobody would go down
(35:43):
that road with me. Everybody said, Bill Belichick is going
to leave on his own terms, and that's just how
it's going to work. His body of work is too
good and in New England for that to take place.
I would say, without a doubt that has all changed
at this point. Does he come back or is this it?
Speaker 4 (36:07):
Listen, If Bill Butlachick is is a very accomplished coach,
we're not gonna take away what he's done now. It
helps when you got twelve under center. That helps a
ton because since twelve hasn't been there, they've gone down
the tubes. That team just being competitive. And I'm torn
(36:31):
on this man because a coach and a man that
has accomplished so much personally for the New England Patriot franchise,
you would think he's earned the right to go out
on his own own terms. But listen, this is a
bottom line business and it's two things that matter, wins
(36:52):
and losses. And if you can't continue to win, and
these losses continue to add up.
Speaker 5 (37:00):
Something got to give.
Speaker 4 (37:02):
And everything that you've done in the past is much appreciated,
but we must move on. And so I don't know
if Robert Kraft would fire him, but I know that
Bill Belichick has to feel the heat. And maybe Bill
is like, you know it, I'll save you the embarrassment
(37:22):
because I know what you want to do. I'll just
step down, or I'll try to find another. I don't know,
but I believe this relationships run its course. These guys
ain't responding to him, man. They don't want to play
for him the way that he seems because I don't
know him the way that he seems to treat these dudes. Man,
that ain't working at this day and age with these
(37:42):
players with Nil the way these dudes come up and
then they get to the league and it's completely different.
Just that style doesn't work anymore. It really don't work
when you don't have Brady in there to keep everything
in order and you're losing. Nah, not gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
I just I think it's I think there's been some
questionable things that he's done decision making wise, like with
the whole offensive coordinator deal and you know now with
the quarterback situation, how that's being handled? I mean, TJ,
how does someone who has arguably been the best coach
(38:22):
in all of sports get to a place of where
the decision making just it is what it appears to be.
It's just super poor and it just calls in the
How does someone make those decisions when they've had so
much success and have won so much? I mean, that
(38:45):
is that huborous?
Speaker 4 (38:46):
Is that?
Speaker 3 (38:47):
Is that like arrogance? Like?
Speaker 4 (38:49):
What?
Speaker 3 (38:49):
Like? Is that just being disconnected? Has has it finally
gotten the game gotten away from Bill Belichick?
Speaker 1 (38:56):
Like?
Speaker 4 (38:57):
How does how does this happen? He's doing things that
he's always done. He's doing things that he's always done.
Just don't have twelve under center? Like he was such
a major factor in his dynasty talking Tom Brady that
he would cover up and he would mass things that
(39:18):
Bill didn't do that weren't that wasn't right, that wasn't
conducive to the team winning, like guys would take less
to come with the come play with the Patriots was
because Bill Belichick. It was because of Tom Brady. It
was because of Brady. And so that is no longer
the case Brady covered up a lot. And again I
(39:38):
believe Bill's mentorship and teaching Brady the complexities and an
understanding of defensive football helped shape him become, helped him become.
Speaker 5 (39:50):
The player that he was.
Speaker 4 (39:53):
But he's tried to do that with other players also,
and it didn't happen. And so Brady covered up a lot.
A lot guys taken less the way you would treat people,
just certain things. And now that Brady isn't there, that
band aid isn't there to cover up the womb, and
(40:13):
now we see the wound.
Speaker 3 (40:19):
Man, Well he's a he's a hell of a band aid.
I'll tell you that T. J. Huschman's out of Yeah,
heavy duty, heavy duty, heavy heavy duty band aid. Shouts
off to Tom Brady for being a heavy duty band
aid to the to the effect of where this man
is considered to be one of the greatest of all time. Anyway,
(40:40):
I digress. This has been up on Game Hope. You
