Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio, living the.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Dream once again here on the bed one NFL Sunday
of this twenty twenty five season.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
This is end Zone Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
We are live from the Fox Sports Radio studios and
we're about to kick off six games around the NFL.
Raiders at the Colts, Giants at the Saints, Cowboys at
the Jets, Broncos at the Eagles, Dolphins at the Panthers,
and Texans at the Ravens. Yes, folks, we don't have
as many games because we have teams on a by
this week Falcons, Bears, Packers and Steelers taking the week off,
(00:36):
and of course already one final score in the books
as the Vikings come back to defeat the Browns twenty
one to seventeen. Big win for the Vikings. They didn't
play well. Browns ushered in and new Era, at least
for a week of Dylan Gabriel who didn't do a
lot of great things out there, but he didn't do
bad things, didn't throw any picks, but not enough for
the Browns. They still have no offense and the Vikings
(00:58):
get the win. VJ. How are here Week five of
the NFL season. We're already into buys.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
I know we're already into buys only six games. And
I walked in and the first question was, I asked
my Hall of Famer to my left, what did the
Vikings do? What secrets do they know that they don't
want out? And who did they take off? They have
to play over seas back to back weeks, but gets
a huge win today. And you know what I love
about week five? And I said this last week. When
(01:24):
we do our preview, I always add in the first
four in the last four, but my first four is
plus one because by week five, you can either save
your season. You can either keep the season going or
your season's already over. And today we are going to
find out. There's gonna be some teams. Somebody's got to
get the Dolphins and Panthers. Somebody's gotta get the two
and three. Someone will get to two and three. Today
(01:46):
you look at the Ravens sitting at one, and hey,
they gotta get this one. No, Lamar, they got a linebacker.
Rocann Smith is out. I know I think Hamilton is questionable.
Like the defensive tackle hurt his neck, He's done for
the year. There's some teams today, there's season hinges on
wins and losing to day is Texans and Ravens both
one in three, one in four, you are pretty much
(02:09):
yeah done, especially in the AFC. Especially in the AFC,
well right now.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
You know, it's interesting about this a Ravens team that
comes in absolutely beat up. No Lamar Jackson. They're underdogs
today to the Texans who've had no offense. Interesting, a
lot of teams have had no offense and then filed
the offensive solution against that Ravens defense, which through the
first four weeks of the seasons the absolute worst in
(02:35):
the NFL. So I don't know if the Ravens can survive.
I mean, this is a team that was on the
very short list of teams to watch to get to
the Super Bowl and maybe be a Super Bowl champion.
But again, if the Texans can exploit that Ravens bad
defense the way other teams did, all of a sudden,
people were like, wow, look at the Chiefs their offenses back.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
I go, does that really count when you're going.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Against the Ravens. We'll see down the road. But this
is a must game for two teams. Yes that most
people definitely had slated for the postseason, because you go
to one and four, that is a big uphill climb.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
Well, here's the thing, if you're the Texans and you
go to one to four, I might I might close
the door. Because the Colts got a big one at
home today against the Raiders. Okay, and we'll see how
that turns out for them. But if they win today,
they've put themselves four games in front of the Texas.
And this isn't baseball. Okay, We've seen in baseball teams
were in the first place in June and July and August,
(03:30):
and next thing, you know, go five and twenty five
in August and September and missed the play. Like, this
isn't baseball. You don't make up four and five games
in the National Football League after week five. So just
today is uber important for both of these teams. I
think the Ravens will be able to get a little bit. Well,
(03:51):
Lamar didn't play, doesn't matter, You're still one in fourst
Bill Parcels used to say, you are what your record
says you are.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Well, the Saints and the Jets are both in four teams.
They're both at home today and they're going up against
NFC East opponents, the Giants, are underdog coming off the
win against the Chargers. They're underdogs against the Saints. Think
about that. I mean, how are the Saints favored over anybody?
(04:18):
That's what they are today, slight favorites over the Giants
and the Jets. Cowboys. So the Cowboys get that forty
all tie. So they're sitting at one two and one.
They're oning two on the road this year, and they're
at the Jets. And yes, the Jets are on four,
but they've been competitive in most of these games. Cowboys
(04:39):
lose today on the road to the Jets, lights out. Yeah,
And so like you say, we have games where you
got some you know, these aren't great matchups your record
wise early in the year, But what we already have
in week five are elimination.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Games, right. Substance, Yeah, there's plenty of substance today.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Herself out of the postseason run by Week five if
you lose today.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
So that's what's on the line.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
Obviously, VJ very focused on his Dolphins right now. What
did you make of the Tyreek Hill sort of return,
you know, addressing the team and all that.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
I looked at that injury as maybe a blessing in
disguise for all parties involved, and Cam Newton is my guy. Damn,
that's my guy. I love his podcast. I loved him
as a player. I loved him at Auburn. I was
excited when he was at Florida. I thought he when
Tebo left, he was going to be the guy. But
you know, you know, but I love Cam Newton. He
said it this week. I think what this does is
it resets Tyreek a little bit. He might have needed,
(05:36):
not needed to get injured. Guys, I'm not saying that,
but we know the off the field stuff he's got
going on. We know the comments he made about too
at the end of last season, then had to do
the apology and Super Bowl weekend, and then had to
do more apologies through Mini camp, and then more apologies
and training camp and now Tua. I honestly believe now
can actually throw to where the ball needs to go, because,
(05:58):
as Cam Newton an MVPN is league that when fifteen
and one wins to Super Bowl out of his own
mouth set. People will never admit this, but when you
have a Diva style number one, there are times you
feel forced to try to get them the ball to
keep them happen. What are we seeing in Philly going
on right now with their quarterback every sing. Okay, and
this has been two or three years now. This ain't
(06:19):
nothing new. No, Jalen Hurts says, hey, I'm throwing to
who I'm supposed to throw. We're seeing it in Arizona,
all wanting to get in the ball more Toamasaradi Mark
Kyle Mario said, listen, I'm gonna throw to where the
ball is supposed to go into wines open.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
You mentioned in the whole AJ Brown situation. Here here's
the interesting We talk about targets and catches. Yes, right,
so he has been targeted twenty eight times and caught
fourteen passes. Devonte Smith has only been targeted twenty times
and he has seventeen catches seventeen for twenty fourteen for
(06:54):
twenty eight hours. So there is a misconnect right now
going on, yes, between jayal and her and AJ Brown.
All right, we're watching that game right now. Okay, bo,
is this the longest we've gone to open the show
without a score? I mean certainly this year by this
time a week ago, I know we had a few
more games, but man, we already had multiple scores on
(07:14):
the board right now. The one team that is driving
predictably are the Texans. They have a third and three
right now and they're opening drive down to the Ravens
fifteen yard line. I got to say something about the
Ravens right now, and I've observed this for many years.
This coach may, indeed someday have a spot in the
(07:35):
Hall of Fame, but I'm sorry, I think John.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Harbaugh is a vastly overrated coach.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Oh wow, really, I just I look at I look
at some of the things. I know he won a
Super Bowl, but that was a long time ago, and
ten and five in postseason games when he had Joe
Flacco three and five with Lamar Jackson, a two time MVP,
and the way they butchered that AFC Championship game with
a game plan. I'm sorry I think that John. I mean,
(08:03):
Jim Harbaugh absolutely maxes out everything berger. But Sean Harbaugh,
I think he's an overrated coach. Really, I do not,
because you look at his contemporaries, like the Mike McCarthy's,
who's not a great coach. I don't think either, But
you know, I think Mike Tomlin overachieves. I think Sean
Payton is certainly in that class. I don't put John
(08:25):
Harbaugh on the same level as those guys, even though
the records look very similar.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Do you think he will have a go jacket though
at some point, And he might because it's going to
be one of those comparison things.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
But remember, as far as coaches are concerned, they've been tough.
Mike Holmgren is still not in the Hall of Fame.
He got bypassed a year ago. Mike Shanahan's not in
the Hall of Fame. Tom Kaplan won two Super Bowls,
He's not in the Hall of Fame. They got They
got guys with multiple Super Bowl wins not in the
Hall of Fame. So just winning a Super Bowl and
coach in a long time is not enough. And we
(08:56):
have a touchdown look at that for the Texans.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Damn they hit it. Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
I would do that if I scored Steve I just
are you saying that Sean Payton is better than John Harbaugh.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
I think that they're very similar, to be honestly, And
by the way, Pete Carroll's sort of in there. There's
you got all these guys that have You can look
at the all time win list, they're all sort of
bunch together. I separate Tomlin from the rest of them.
I think Tomlin is a Hall of Fame.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
But when you.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Look at Sean Payton and Pete Carroll and John Harbaugh
and Mike McCarthy, those four guys, they're like literally identical.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
Yeah, I think nobody's done less with more in the
NFL than Sean Payton did well.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
I mean really with a Hall of Fame, with a
shore ballot first or second ballot Hall of Fame quarterback,
and then won Super Bowl one Super Bowl for okay,
one super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Short more often than not, and has has a has
a a scandal attached to his name.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Who do you think? True? True? There's a lot of stuff.
Who do you think is better? You bring up Harball?
Are you taking Harball? Are you taking Peyton?
Speaker 3 (10:00):
John Harbor?
Speaker 4 (10:00):
Peyton?
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Probably John Harbaugh. Okay, I'm with you because I think
personality is better than Sean Payton's.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Okay, I'm not whoa whoa wa Yeah, whoa whoa whoa whoa.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Well, Joe Flack was a Hall of Famer on this show, Okay, John.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Harb, Guys, you forgot he's had a two time m
v P quarterback. His name is Lamar Jackson and could
have easily won a third m v P last year
and he hasn't even gotten.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
To They they need to win more for sure.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
But so I mean, I think I think when you
talk about personalities, that's not what I'm judging on. Yeah,
John Harbo is a better guy than Sean Payton. Although
my one really interaction with Sean Payton, he was very
he was good. It was actually the year you suspended.
I was covering the.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
Came and hung around. It was very nice.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
Bo and I were talking about this before the show too.
But like you, you look at a lot of those
teams in the two thousands that had one Super Bowl
win with great Hall of Fame quarterbacks between like uh.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Drew Brees and Aaron rod Jie Rodgers.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
But the difference is that I think this is to
point to to John Harbaugh's credit, at least you at
least have the like this. You could say, okay, but
there were always something blocking your way in the AFC
where you were at least getting farther with them, just
because you know you were dealing with the Payton You
had two of.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
The most dominant defensive players.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
In the history. But the Packers and the Saints only
have ever been to one set, right, and not just Peyton,
I mean not just not just Brady Belichick, Hayton, Manny
Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers. Okay, let's let's that's why.
That's why I'm taking horrible and I'll be honest with you.
I don't think it's close. Sean Payton's a great coach,
(11:40):
but if you're asking me to put both their careers
together with the teams they've had to deal with, let's
not act like Sean Payton didn't have Jonathan Wilma and
have some defensive dogs on that side of the football
also too, and he probably should have got to another
Super Bowl for a flag that didn't come out on
a passing affairs called that the entire world saw that
got the Rams to a Super Bowl. So I mean,
I don't like to do if windows, but in my
(12:02):
fit for this situation.
Speaker 2 (12:03):
Right while you are going on and on about the
greatness of John Harbaugh, hay the Dolphins got a field goal,
so the Dolphins take the only three to nothing lead
against the Panthers. So Texans get the score and the
extra point.
Speaker 6 (12:15):
C J.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Stroudland opening drive against the John Harbaugh led Ravens four
or five forty six yards and that touchdown pass. All right,

First and Gold Giants with the ball on the one,
Dart over center, strong formation to the right, scottaboo the tailbox,
play fake back rows to the.
Speaker 9 (14:01):
End zone, wide open Ceo Johnson Giant touchdown.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
That's the Giants radio network. So on their opening drive
against the favored Saints, Saints really favored Giants go right
down the field, Jackson Dart a perfect five for five
forty four yards and that touchdown pass on the opening drive,
Giants leave the Saints seven and nothing. This is End

Speaker 1 (14:48):
Steve, I got a crazy staff for you, guys. You're
gonna love man when you talk about this Giants in
Saints game, and it's confusing how they come off of
winning their underdogs. Of course, they're at the Saints one
and a half points, two and a half more and
a half yesterday. But do you know in the last
sixteen games straight up, the Giants are two and fourteen.
In the last nineteen games straight up, the Saints are
(15:09):
three and sixteen. That is a combined five and thirty
three in the last thirty eight games these two teams
have played. Something's gotta give it this game.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Today, Well, I take what it has to give, is
we at least we saw in that opening drive with
Jackson Dart. Now remember he had a good start against
the Chargers and then he just sort of faded away.
The Giants did hang on to win that game, but
he just sort of faded away. So you know, look
at every team opens up and they've got a game
plan for that opening drive. Right, excude, you practiced it
(15:43):
in practice.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
You're ready to go.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Then the game takes his course and that's where you
have to have your quarterback step up.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
All right.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Couple other scores for your Raiders get on the board. First,
three nothing over the Colts. The Cowboys have just gotten
a field goals, so that game is tied three to
three with the Jets. Broncos get the first score against
the Eagles. Three nothing, Dolphins, three nothing over the Panthers.
And we have the Texans and the Ravens. Ravens right
now have a fourth down and they're going to go
for a field goal, which is missed. Oh it got in?
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Did he shake or ms?
Speaker 4 (16:17):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (16:18):
That was wow by from eight yards? That was close
but apparently snuck in. Texans lead seven to three. I
want to get bow in here with these Eagles. The
Eagles are four and oh, but they could easily be
going four. I mean they've had four close games, all
one score games, and their offense is struggling, at least
(16:40):
from the passing standpoint. And by the way, Saquon Barkley
has the lowest yards per carry of any running back
with a certain number of carries in the entire NFL.
He's averaging only three point one yards per carry. For
the guy that was such a dominant force a year ago,
I'll turn to bow first year two yards a game.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
Let's talk.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Yeah, I mean, Barkley bears no resemblance to the dominant
running back we saw a year ago.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Know, well, the entire offensive line is hurt and the
entire offensive scheme is bad. So no, the scheme is bad.
It's bad. It's sup predictable. It's too obvious what they're
doing pre snap. There's no motion involved. I think through
four weeks. Uh, my hot take for the end of
the season. I was talking to Chris yesterday, I think
we should do a mid season refresh of our predictions. Okay,
(17:30):
I think Nick Sirianni is very likely to get fired
at the end of the season.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Wow, Now you've been saying this every year, and I
know you how many right Look at Montsi jumping up
when he says this.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Every what happened.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Damn what happened after they lost the Super Bowl? All
the time, what happened after they lost the Super Bowl
of the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
They had down year.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
They lost their offensive coordinator and their defensive corporator.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
The Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
Last year they did hold on, let me finish? Can
I finish?
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Let him have a guys, I want to hear it.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
So they lost Super Bowl the Chiefs. They lost both
their offensive cordnaria and their defensive coordinator, and they let
Nick Sirianni hire from within. He hired Brad john I
think it's Brian Johnson as the offensive coordinator and it
was really Matt Patricia's the defensive coordinator. It was a disaster.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
Now that's a fireable offense.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
But that team, that team was awful. They were ten
and one, but everybody with eyes knew that they actually
sucked because they looked a lot like this team does
this year. They were winning games, but they were not
winning them in anything.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
Don't you recognize as bad as the Eagles were, and
by the end, they were awful. Like you said, they
got blown out of their playoff game. To rebound from that,
and when the Super Bowl go went, they.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
When they rebounded. What did they What did they do?
They told Nick Sirianni, Hey, you're gonna have Kellen Moore
as your offensive coordinator and you're going to have Vic
Fangio as your DEFENSI cordator. They did not let Nick
Sirianni hire his coordinators.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Are you worried?
Speaker 3 (18:51):
Oh yeah, the offense looks awful. Okay, as worried as
I can be, Like, I'm not. I'm not stressed because
they just won the Super Bowl. It's not a huge
deal what happens this year. But I think it's it's
insane that they let Nixeranni higher his coordinators again for.
Speaker 5 (19:04):
As much flag as AJ Brown has been getting for
how vocal he is, I am pretty sure from everything
I've heard, like DeVonta Smith is of the same mind.
He's just kind of letting AJ Brown take a lot
of the flak. But there was definitely a quote, I
think from DeVonta Smith that like he was basically saying, yeah,
AJ's telling no lies.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Well you're also paying both these guys.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
Yeah, no big money.
Speaker 10 (19:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
The round tree is is a slant, a curl or
a go Like there's no there's no creativity and part
of that honestly is because of the limitations they have
at quarterback.
Speaker 5 (19:35):
They are I still believe the last, the dead last,
as far as like the amount of time it takes
before they snap the ball, like they wait until the
last second to snap the ball.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
Because I'm gonna reserve panic button all the way around.
Because I I've just always been on even the year
you're talking about, I've always just been on this team.
And I've said this a thousand times. I get why
certain people don't like Nick Sirianni. I just don't dislike
him as much as those people do. To me, He's quirky,
(20:06):
little weird, but I think everybody in life can be
and is. And when it comes down to it, sae
Quon put a lot out last year, and we're in
week five, and if I'm week five four O, we
could do should be And if but I'm four to oh,
and I think what'll happen is we can revert back
to two years ago and go, yeah, but remember they
went to ten to one. Okay, cool. Then we're gonna
(20:27):
have to just wait and see how it plays out.
But long as they keep winning. Just by side the
sidepoint I picked the Broncos to cover today after Broncos
cover last night. Draft Kings had this at four and
a half. I like that number because the Eagles have
been winning these close games, so I said, Okay, Broncos
will hang in. But I do believe at home today,
two defenses going out, it's gonna be a defensive game today.
(20:47):
I believe. I do think that they can pull this
out if they decide to throw the number eleven and
it hurts him make up enough play well to pull
this one out. I know it's my prediction.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Quick note here two completions so far for Hurts to
aj Brown, So I mean, right now he is the
target of this offense passing. But again two catches for
eleven yards. These are all really short passes that we're
seeing from this Eagles offense. I just you know, I
picked the Broncos on my to win last night, just
because I felt like the Eagles are due for a loss,
(21:19):
and I'm watching the start of this game and the
reality you have to just take a step back. You
can make predictions, you can say this is going to happen,
and then you have to go with what actually is happening.
Bow Knicks is not progressing as a quarterback. He the
confidence that was building through the course of last season.
It's almost like it's a startover for bow Nicks right
(21:42):
now three of seven, only fifteen yards. They can't get
their passing attack going. The Eels right now on the
move as we got five minutes to go in the
first quarter and they were able to finally get Barkley
some open space and get it down the field.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
But it's a good point.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
You know, the talk about coordinators, you talk about obviously
the offensive line has been a total rebuild for the Eagles,
But guys, this is this is this is a bottom
line league. Either you're winning or not, I think, and
if you're overcoming a lot of these things and still
finding a way to get w's, you got to get
the coach some credit for that.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
It built a character over time.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
But I think just like Jalen Hurts has obvious shortcomings,
Like there's obvious shortcomings with Tianni, but he still like
rises to the occasion in the postseason. Like that's fine.
But I just I'm surprised they let him hire his
coordinators instead of really opening the market it really quickly remember.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
Two years ago, because you know me, I'm a context guy.
I'm a complete context guy. They were banged up. By
the time they got the week twelve, Week thirteen, they
were almost and Jalen Hurts we found out was playing
hurt like he wasn't the same guy last year. Yeah,
they had Sakwan, but also I'm a guy to listen.
We can't blame a quarterback for having a good running back.
(22:55):
If that's the case, then let's talk about Joe Montana
that had Roger Craig the first thousand thousand back in
the NFL. Like it's a team effort and I'm just
gonna reserve on the panic bay because i still love
this team. And also what Aj Brown? You guys notice
the squeaky will gets the oil. Sometimes you gotta make
a little noise and you gotta say like, hey, I'm
not mad at Aj Brown at all. And Casey said
(23:17):
he'd take a flat, bro I'm not giving him no
flat because if I'm the number one, throw me. Keyshawn
Johnson wrote a book Thrown Read the Ball's side. That's
been the thing every week too. Is it a different
player on the offense? Is like in their postgame scrum
been like, yeah, the offense isn't really doing what we
think it needs to be doing. And last year they
didn't take off until they all went to Siriani and said, hey,
(23:39):
give Saquon the ball. Okay.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Bottom line on all this is the idea of trading
AJ Brown is ridiculous because at this point you're not
going to get value for value. You're not gonna get
value for value offense for a guy that obviously is
someone that you would not want in your locker room.
You want him on the field, you don't want him
on a locker room. He's a MEMI me guy. Uh,
It's he's not exclusive company.
Speaker 5 (24:01):
By the way, I just want to say one last
thing on this, and this is you know, me and
bow keep putting together like tier lists of who's the
tier one right now in this football season. The Eagles
have been not present in our tier one for a
few weeks now, but I will say this, they're still
scary because any given week, like I think, you know,
there's there's the Lions are clearly the best team in
(24:21):
the NFC right now, but I think there are still
weeks where like the Eagles will turn it on and
show you just how damn scary they are when they
just really want to just crush you on defense.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
All right, right now again, the Eagles are on the move,
trailing the Broncos early three.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
Nothing.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
Let's find out what is trending right now as we
welcome in Monts decked out in her Chargers gear. I'm nervous,
nervous for the Chargers too. I mean when you when
you have three offensive linemen out essentially no, thank you.
Speaker 11 (24:50):
Yes, tell me all the things that are going wrong
with the Chargers.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
You guys are nervous about that game at home with
gets the Commanders this nothing?
Speaker 2 (24:56):
Oh yeah, of course Aid and Daniels is bad, worse
and their offensive Did.
Speaker 11 (25:00):
You see the Chargers last week?
Speaker 5 (25:01):
Did you?
Speaker 11 (25:01):
Did you see the Chargers?
Speaker 1 (25:03):
That's that right here with you guys.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
You you have no tackles just and Herbert has been
sacked the fifth most times in the NFL, and I
don't want to even count how many charge he's been hit.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
Charges covered, today's two and a half charges covered.
Speaker 12 (25:17):
I'd be very waiters charges win today. They're better, they better,
They're back home, home home, nothing, you know that for
the charges home cooking here at.
Speaker 11 (25:29):
Home for LA teams doesn't mean at home like it
does for.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
Other no, it has.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
There will be plenty of Commander fans out as.
Speaker 10 (25:37):
If anything, We've seen how important an O line is,
and I just don't know exactly what's gonna happen, so
I'm a little nervous.
Speaker 11 (25:43):
So we'll see, we'll see. We've got six games going
on to continue this week.
Speaker 10 (25:48):
Five the Giants on the scoreboard, Jackson Dart connecting with
THEO Johnson for his first touchdown the day. Giants up
on the Saints, who just scored a field goal seven
to three late in the first quarter.
Speaker 11 (25:59):
Cowboys and that's tied at three.
Speaker 10 (26:01):
Broncos over the Eagles three zero, but the Eagles are
in the red zone. They are knocking on the door
to score all of these games right now, late in
the first quarter. Early in the second, it's the Texans
who have seventy three lead over the Ravens as CJ.
Stroud connected with Xavier Hutchinson. They just got going to
the second quarter, just like the Dolphins and the Panthers
with Miami up three zero, but they're also in the
(26:22):
red zone approaching to score, knocking down the door. Raiders
over the Colts three zero. Also early in the second
with the Colts in the red zone. But football started
in London this morning. The Vikings defeated the Browns twenty
one to seventeen, scoring the go ahead touchdown with twenty
five seconds lev Carson Wentz connected with Jordan Addison, who
(26:43):
was benched in the first quarter, and it came out
Viking said coach Kevin O'Connell told the media. He was
benched because he missed a walkthrough earlier this week, so
that's why he was benched in the first quarter, but
then scores the game really winning touchdown.
Speaker 11 (26:56):
Dylan Gabriel in.
Speaker 10 (26:57):
His debut nineteen to thirty three four one hundred and
ninety yards and two touchdowns.
Speaker 11 (27:02):
Back to you guys, Hi Monsie, thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
We get up dates from Moonsi throughout the show today
as we got six games around the NFL right now,
but we got a game coming up later as the
Detroit Lions, who according to our own Chris Perfett, is
by far the best.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
Team in the NFC right now.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
That's interesting on the road against the Bengals team that's
all banged up. Joining us right now. She will be
on the sidelines for that game for Fox. Alison Williams
is joining us Alison. We appreciate the time and it
is not often that we see a home team as
a whopping nine and a half point underdog, but that's
what the Bengals are today against the Lions. I know
(27:43):
you've been looking at both of these teams heading into
this game. Do the Bengals have a chance here? Is
there a way the Bengals can figure out a way
to get past the Lions in this home game today?
Speaker 13 (27:53):
Hey, guys, thanks so much for having me on. Yeah,
it doesn't look good when you look at the big
picture numbers for the Bengals. Right We've got the top
scoring offense in the league coming in, the Detroit Lions,
putting up thirty four points a game, and the Cincinnati
offense has really struggled honestly all year. I mean, we
had them Week one against Cleveland and it wasn't even
pretty then with Joe Burrow in there, and it's just
(28:14):
gotten worse since he left Week two with that turf
toe injury. So it's been a struggle for Cincinnati on
both sides of the ball, honestly, and it's going to
be difficult to put up points against his Detroit defense.
But I think if you zero win in like a
couple of key areas, there are some places where Cincinnati
could gain an edge. You look on the outside with
(28:34):
Trey Hendrickson, one of the top pass rushers in the NFL,
he could potentially be going up against a guy making
his first start at left tackle. So we don't know
for sure yet, but Taylor Decker, he's been dealing with
that shoulder injury all season long. He's questionable today, So
if Giovanni Manu has to start, it'll be his first start,
(28:55):
so maybe, you know, maybe they can generate some pressure there,
which they've struggled to do this year. And then also
the Lions have some injuries in this secondary, so guys
are going to be rotated, playing out of position a
little bit. We know the Bengals are built to push
the ball down the field, and we'll see if maybe
Jamar Chase and t Higgins can get going against them.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
Alison Willias, b. J. Verner Husky, your first time to
speaking with you. Love your work so great, Thanks for
coming on and looking forward to throwing these questions at you.
And I'm gonna segue to who you just brought up
in Chase and Higgins, because that's my question. This is
a ten and a half point spread last night. We're
always weared about these double points spreads in the NFL,
espacally four team that's coming on the road that's favored
like that. Do the Bengals have the opportunity to though,
(29:35):
to push the ball down the floy is this is
a game where you just kind of go to Jamar
Chase and say, hey, hey, big guy, Hey, hey wr one,
go get this one for us today. We're just throwing you.
You're getting fifteen targets. Go make this thing happen for
us today. Our Is this just going to be a
lines wash in your opinion?
Speaker 2 (29:51):
No?
Speaker 13 (29:51):
I think you're onto something there. Jamar Chase was very
animated Monday night in Denver.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
We saw it.
Speaker 13 (29:56):
We saw the conversation, if you will, with head coach
Zach Taylor when he was very emotional.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
He was fired up.
Speaker 13 (30:02):
After the game, he addressed the entire team himself, which
is kind of out of character for him, a first
year captain trying to find his boys more without Joe Burrow.
This is what the team is built to do. The
question is can they do it without Burrow? And with
Browning in there and guys, I gotta tell you, talking
to Jake Browning this week, it was really interesting. He
had an edge, he was angry, he was candid. He
(30:24):
took a really strong look in the mirror and said, Okay,
what am I doing wrong? And where do I need
to be better? Because obviously the interceptions that first game
against Minnesota he cannot have. But he also can't be
so conservative like we saw last week against Envers. So
he's trying to find that balance of pushing the ball downfield,
stretching defenses vertically finding his playmakers on the outside. He
knows those guys can win one on one when they
(30:45):
get the opportunity. He has to find a way to
find them. But he's got to find them quick, right
because that pass rush is going to come against the Lions,
and the offensive line has struggled for Cincinnati. So the
key is ken they gives him the time for those
guys to get open, and then he is got to
find them downfield. And I just get this sense in
talking to him, he's going to be aggressive. I think
last week he was mad at himself he was too
(31:06):
conservative and that came off the picks he threw against Jacksonville.
He's like I'm not going to have a career if
I keep throwing the ball like that. So I think
it was a bit of an overreaction in the Denver game,
and today they'll try and find that balance. The other
thing is, guys, you mentioned it, they're at home, and
that matters. You have more cadence you can use, you
can communicate more, you can check in and out of
(31:27):
plays easier. So I think there is an advantage, especially
for this offense being at home for this game with
Jake Browning who's trying to get something going with his
playmakers on the outside.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Does Jared Goff get his just due?
Speaker 4 (31:41):
Is no?
Speaker 2 (31:42):
I mean, obviously the numbers seventy four percent complete rate,
nine touchdowns, two picks, second only the Lamar Jackson and
passer rating. I felt this way when he was with
the Rams, that he never go out is just due.
Remember he was supposedly a throwaway right. It was a
first und pick and GoF right for them to get
(32:03):
Matthew Stafford, and here he is putting up these huge numbers.
When you're with Jared GoF does he is he frustrated
at all that he hasn't really gotten the kind of
recognition he deserves based on the wins that he has
helped produce and the numbers that he has produced.
Speaker 13 (32:22):
No, I would agree with you that he has not
got the recognition he deserves for as top tier of
a quarterback as he is.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
In the league.
Speaker 13 (32:28):
But I don't think it bothers him one but because
inside that building, they freaking love that guy and they
know he is what makes us offense going. What's crazy?
Speaker 2 (32:36):
Guys?
Speaker 13 (32:36):
You mentioned his numbers last year, but he's doing this
after leading the league and scoring last year. New offensive
coordinator Johnny Morton comes in and Jared Goff has more
ownership of this offense than he ever has. He's in
constant communication with Morton and Liz Dan Campbell throughout the
week during the game, what he likes, what he sees.
He has full control and input and autonomy in this offense,
(32:58):
and they have been prolific and back to back years,
which is so impressive. I mean, we haven't seen this,
you know, since the Saints in the early two thousand,
So what he's doing is really really remarkable, and they
are they're clicking on on all levels. And he may
not get the national attention and accolades on like some
of the other quarterbacks that we see across the league.
But honestly, I don't think he cares one bit. He
(33:18):
just wants to go out and win football games and
he's got the right perspective on all of it.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
Allison, Before we brought you in, we had a very
deep conversation about best team, you know in the NFC,
and Eagles are four and no, but people don't feel
like they're the best team. Our own Chris purfet Our
engineering the Building o here on anzeol show thinks as
the Detroit Lions, where would you stack them just on
the eyeball test and on tape and film? Are they
better than the Eagles? Or are the Eagles still the
(33:44):
top team because they're four and o in the Definish
football champions are Do the Lions have some stake to
that claim of being the best team in the NFC?
Speaker 13 (33:51):
On October fifth, Yeah, I think you can argue either
team honestly, and it's hard to thrown the champion, right.
I mean, the Eagles are wearing this crown and until
somebody takes it away. To me, they're the best team
in the National Football League and in the NFC for sure.
But the Lions are right there and they're nipping at
their heels. And everybody wanted to write off the Lions
after Week one, and that performance agrants Green Bay right,
(34:12):
and they've come out since then and shown that they
are still a very good football team. I think the
key to the Lions down the stretch is, like, can
they stay healthy? Last year obviously decimated by injuries on
the defense, so they got to stay healthy. But if
they continue to play at this level, they're just there's
not a lot of weaknesses right when you look at
their game like today. The only area maybe on the
left side of the offensive line, in the back end
(34:33):
of the secondary. They could maybe see some improvement there
down the stretch, But gosh, they're so good up front
on defense and in the middle defensively to their backers.
Jack Campbell's just a beast. So neither team has a
lot of flaws. And that's what I always look to
like if you're trying to just you know, separate two
of the top teams, like where could you maybe find
(34:53):
a weakness? There aren't a lot with either one of
these teams.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
Allison Williams, we appreciate the time. Hopefully the Bengals can
make it a game. Let's hope that the Bengals can
make this a game to watch. We appreciated Allison. We'll
talk to you down the road.
Speaker 13 (35:06):
Thanks so much, guys.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
Thanksress, I have a great call.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
That's Allison Williams. All right, coming up on the other side,
we'll get you updated on the six games going on
around the National Football League.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
This is end Zone Radio.
Speaker 14 (35:16):
Back to throw, looking right, plenty of time for the
end zone to beginner's foot down is eight chance touchdown?
Speaker 1 (35:24):
Wow, what a catch? What a catch in the corner.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
That's Fox Hoarst nine forty Dolphins Radio Network, and the
Dolphins are putting an early beatdown on the Panthers on
the road, seventeen to nothing, Dolphins to sixteen of twenty
one hundred and forty seven yards and two touchdowns. So
for the first time this year, the Dolphins look good. Grant,
it's on the road against the Panthers, but at least
(35:50):
they're off to a good lead. All right, Just a
quick rundown right now, as once again we're here in
the Fox Sports Radio studios for End Zone Radio. Bolts
lead the Raiders thirteen to three. Tough days for Pete
Carrolyn Company Giants have jumped all over the Saints fourteen
to three. Again, these are all second quarter scores. Cowboys
(36:11):
lead the Jets ten to three, Eagles Broncos three all
we mentioned, Dolphins up seventeen to nothing, and the Texans
still have a ten to three lead on the road
against the Lamar Jackson lists of Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Bo we talk about being worried about the Eagles? Did
we did we over judge the Raiders with Pete?
Speaker 3 (36:36):
We were just But I also I want to express something.
It seems like you guys were talking crap about arch
Manning in the break and you did not invite me.
Speaker 2 (36:46):
I have a lot of thoughts of Okay, here's one
thing we do know. Arch Manning is not coming out
in the draft. But here's the whole thing. Here, we
turn for another year in Texas. He's no guaranteed to
actually beat the Texas quarterback nat.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
I wouldn't sa he's going to return for another year,
but he might be going to two lane or something.
Wells his skill set because man Texas has five star
recruits all over the place where Steve Montana played. Who
is the quarterback that came in for one play he
had a better, better looking past.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Close is is it the pressure of the name?
Speaker 3 (37:22):
What it is is that he played in a lower
level in Louisiana, but his name is Arch Manning. So
everybody's great.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
Just everything. Watching that game he was He's undecisive. He
holds on good.
Speaker 5 (37:36):
But like Texas, you know you're going to screw around
and help Billy Napier keep his He's he's.
Speaker 3 (37:42):
One of those kids that grew up watching Pat Mahomes
and things. He can do everything Mahomes does, but no.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
He could one. He actually is a decent athlete. He
can run, he's certainly. But the problem again is to
be an effective quarterback, you have to have confidence. He
doesn't seem to have any self confid evidence in his
ability to make big throws.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
What's the word you and I love to use this comfortable. Comfortable.
Quarterbacks have to be comfortable to you could tell he's not.
You have to have a swagger, you have to. I
mean he've had some juice.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
Absolutely, you know, I think a guy, you know, gun
slingers like a Brett Fahr. Back in the day, he
wasn't afraid to throw. Yeah, he'd throw intercept. Do you
think that bothered.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Hitting care No, it's like it's like a great hitter
that strikes out. Barry Bonds doesn't care about a strikeout.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
When they when they went back to that first game
against Ohio State and broke down the film and you
saw that were open receivers, that's just what he just
wouldn't let it go, and he would check down, check down, checkdown.
Speaker 1 (38:43):
He just won't let it go. So no, that he is.
He's not.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
He's definitely not going to go in the NFL Draft,
and he's not even guaranteed to be at the Texas
starting quarterback next year.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
That's a big take right there. That's a big take
that he Yeah. But also VJ, you're right, the Raiders
are awful. Can we never talk about them again? Well,
I don't. I don't ever. I don't want to spend
another offseason where I have to listen to people talk
about the Raiders being a sneaky good team and then
they come out we assume.
Speaker 2 (39:07):
Look, I assumed that again you've got an upgraded quarterback
from whatever you happen, which was nothing with Geno. Well
you obviously don't. I mean, Geno Smith has been awful
this year. I feel bad for Ash and Gent. You
had a nice game last week, but you know than
handing it to one, well, I can't you want to
get by the way, in this game, he has twenty
(39:27):
five yards rush, he has thirty seven yards receiving. He
is the sole offense. But again to allow him to
really get some holes and you know, break out that
running game once you got to have a thread of
a passing game. And right now with Gino Smith Thursday,
and that was.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
Always what was gonna happen though with you have when
you have the Eagles and the Raiders or the Ravens
having these receive resurgence seasons from running backs, teams are
gonna be like, oh, well then you just need to
get a good running back. But like, no, you need
an offensive line, and the Raiders don't have one. Like
Gent was a bad pick for the Raiders because they
don't have an offensive line. There's a badly run organization.
That's always been a badly run organation.
Speaker 5 (40:00):
I think on the quarterback, we've now gotten two cases
of someone leaving the Seahawks and being very bad somewhere else.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
Like I'm not saying it's there. On the Seahawks.
Speaker 5 (40:09):
But like we we kind of have to admit that
there are expiration dates on quarterbacks and Gino Gino might
have hit his Like again, I've talked about this before,
but like Tom Brady, playing until forty plus has really
screwed up our brains of when the fall off for
these guys right right, not.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
Just him, Drew Brees, all those guys that Aaron Rodgers,
like all these guys playing past thirty eight, thirty nine,
we think, oh guys can can do right right.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
A little update here on this Ravens Texans game. Texans
are now in position in the red zone again to
extend their ten to three lead. Derrick Hennery six carries
eight yards. You guys, what was this over underday was
eighty four and a half yards. You figure without Lamar
Jackson they're gonna run the ball? Didn't they cake into
mind that if you don't have Lamar Jackson and you're
(40:55):
the Houston Texans, what are you gonna do? You're gonna
stack up against Derreck Gannery six? Care He's eight yards
so far for Derek Henon, all I heard last.
Speaker 1 (41:02):
Year was Lamar was only good because he had Derek Henri.
So here we are.
Speaker 2 (41:06):
Yeah, well, right now, the Ravens are in serious trouble
without their all pro quarterback. We got a lot more
coming up with six game preview of the afternoon. This
is end Zone Radio, all right, rolling along here, fifth
NFL Sunday of the twenty twenty five season. End Zone Radio.
We're in the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Speaker 1 (41:26):
And yes we have byes.
Speaker 2 (41:29):
Yeah, the first four teams they got a week off.
Where the Falcons, the Bears, the Packers, and the Steelers.
Speaker 1 (41:37):
I want to mention the Steelers for a moment. Here
are we missing any of them teams today?
Speaker 2 (41:41):
Well, here's the thing about the Steelers. The Ravens right
now are in trouble. They are in a seventeen to
three hole at home against the Texans. So when you
look at the Ravens, you look at the Browns and
the Bengals, guess.
Speaker 1 (42:02):
Who is who's sitting pretty right now? I mean, I
mean right now.
Speaker 2 (42:07):
If you are the Steelers, you have a healthy Aaron Rodgers,
you're nothing. You don't have to do anything spectacular. But
when Lamar Jackson out, with Joe Burrow out and the
Browns being the Browns, the Steelers have an opportunity to
put some distance between themselves and the rest of that
NFC nor AFC North This.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
Year is quickly going to become just the battle of attrition.
It's think about the names that are down. Molik Neighbors
done for the year, the best defensive lineman for the
Raided Ravens done for the year, Lamar Jackson out, Burrow out,
Tyreek Hill out like they both nick bow out. They're
named party again out like they are big, huge names
(42:49):
that are out this year. It really feels like whoever
can just stay off the ir at major key pers it.
The Ravens have like five defensive starters out today, got
that matters, and then your two Tome IVB quarterback who
should have won a third last year is out. I
just think that if the Steelers stay healthy, my prediction
(43:11):
of Mike Tomlin's first under five hundred season is gonna
look really dumb. Well, by the time we get the Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
Things work out for you. I mean, the way that
you maintain this perfect record of never having a losing
season is hey, he got to be obviously a pretty
good coach, but you need a little luck, and the
Steelers seem to be one of those fortunate franchises when
there might be some questions about their team. Other teams
fall by the wayside. So the Steelers get the week off,
(43:40):
but but they come back. I mean, the Ravens are
down seventeen to three. They were dogs at home to
the Texans and they are living down to expectations right now.
The Bengals are getting most likely going to get blown
out at home today by the Lions. The Browns have
already lost. We could have been a win, but another
loss of the brown So yeah, the Steelers with Aaron Rodgers,
(44:03):
he could be smiling ear to year by the time
they get back on the field next week.
Speaker 1 (44:07):
And check this out. Here's their next few games. Cleveland
at home, YEP at Cincinnati. They do have Indianapolis and
the Chargers with the game before that will be against
the Packers, so they get they get two easy ones.
I think they probably win those those next two games
and they get the five and one, but then Packers, Chargers,
they get the Bengals again, they get Chicago. I think
(44:30):
that might be a good weekend, and then they get
the Colts and see with the Colts end up being
at that point, they're three and one today, two, so
they could be six and one by the time they
gets to that game the Colts, we could be watching
two six and one teams that no one thought Nephramonci,
that no one thought was gonna be well this year.
And uh, you know it's like you said, Steve, every
time we think we know it all.
Speaker 2 (44:49):
How about this, the Saints have come back eighty seven
yard touchdown pass Rattler to Shaheed eighty seven yards. He's
their speister. Like this about the Saints. They did not
go for the two point conversion, thank you, five minutes
to go, so they trail the Giants fourteen thirteen. You
don't go for two, not in the first half when
(45:11):
every time.
Speaker 1 (45:11):
I see it first I'm doing, I don't go for two.
Speaker 2 (45:17):
Exactly. If you have to have it late in the game,
then you go for two. Panthers did get on the board,
as your guy Bryce Young b Waw did get a
touchdown pass Right now, I'm watching this Broncos team. Uh.
The Eagles lead the Broncos by the score of ten
to three. Spent an efficient day for Jalen Hurts. Saquan
(45:37):
is actually running the ball well, but not often. He's
only had four carries but twenty eight yards on the ground.
But when you get back to bo Nix and the
whole dynamic with Sean Payton, So look, I'm all knee
deep into the Broncos. I'm sure they're cursing me for
jumping on their bandwagon, because every time I do, a
team goes south. But I really expected, you know, and
(45:59):
I go back when Payton was with Drew Brees, and
now again at Drew Brees was not a rookie. He'd
already actually been a Pro Bowl quarterback with the Chargers
before he landed in New Orleans. But it just seemed
like that first year they got to the NFC Championship
game and they were often running and they never took
a step backwards.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
You know, they were able to you know, as Drew.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
Brees's arm strength evaporated, they created a new offense, and
then he was setting all these records for completion percentage.
Speaker 1 (46:26):
I really believe that we would see.
Speaker 2 (46:29):
A step up, maybe not a leap, but a step
up for bow Knicks here in twenty twenty five, and
it just hasn't happened. Bow Knicks is struggling. I was
watching some of the film of the last game he
was missing guys, I mean bad throws, missing open receivers.
Speaker 1 (46:48):
Down the field that he was not missing a year ago.
Speaker 2 (46:51):
So there's it's got to be concerns right now if
you're a Broncos fan that we're not seeing and it's
not happening today either.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
More out of Bonnick without sounding like I'm repeating myself
for just sounding redundant over and over again. We've talked
about tape, right We've talked about film. It's something that
I'm I'm big on. I'm big on film and tape.
You can give me the numbers and you can try
to mathematician me all you want, but the film does
not lie. And when these defensive coordinators finally get film
(47:20):
on you off of your rookie year, we've had discussions
about who's gonna have the sophomore slump, it's gonna be somebody. Well,
Jayden Daniels has already been knocked out of games, he
hasn't even played. Both Nicks is playing. But guys got
they got film on you, man, they got film on you.
And there's a reason why Sean Payton can lie all
he wants and says that's the guy we want to
know the stories and the reports, especially even in NFL.
(47:43):
People I talked to they wanted JJ McCarthy. That's why
Minnesota moved up and traded with the Jets to go
get them, because they knew they were coming for them.
They took what was left over, and nine times out
of ten in life, when you take what's left, when
you go to the buffet and you take the chicken
that's been at the bottom of the pan and you
can see the sauces congealed and stuck to the pan,
but you still ask for that orange chicken, and you
(48:05):
sit down and when you take the first bite, you're
like ill, but you still eat it because it's orange chicken,
and we all like orange chicken. You'd still take them
because we're all and maammered. We're getting a quarterback in
the first round when you don't have one, and there's
always gonna be a team. Now, I'm not saying the
Broncos made a mistake Steve. What I'm saying is a
lot of the praise that he was getting. I warned people, hey, guys,
(48:26):
let's you know, Jim harballs defense twice a year. There
spags defense twice a year in that division. Like you
got some defenses to go against, buddy.
Speaker 2 (48:36):
Can I back up a second here the orange chicken
analogy that I mean, did this recently happen to you?
Speaker 1 (48:41):
Apparently?
Speaker 4 (48:42):
No?
Speaker 2 (48:42):
No, no, no, no, no no no. We're describing it
so graphically that it seems like that's a personal experience.
Speaker 1 (48:51):
No, I don't go through that, because I'm smart enough
to stand back and let people go in front of
me until they put out the news big silver bucket
of the new orange chicken, and don't let them take
the old and put it on top of the new
and stir it up and try to give it. He said, no, no, no, no, no.
Can you just take my order from that silver bone
that just sat behind you? Just take my double with
(49:12):
orange chicken order from that right there, please, that's where
that comes from. I got it down, man, if I'm
gonna go eat it. You know what I got the
other day?
Speaker 2 (49:20):
I went to a place where I got a health
fit burrito, you know, chicken, all good stuff, right, and
they have the chips. They sort of throw the chips in,
so I see the guy behind the county sort of
scooping the chips, putting him in the bag. And then
I opened the bag and it's literally the crumbs of crumb.
I mean, I mean it was like hastack of crumbs,
(49:41):
a mag of crumb, and then a few. Actually, why
would you serve that? Well, exactly, why would you serve that?
Speaker 1 (49:46):
I like, what is going on here?
Speaker 2 (49:48):
I eat here often, and this is when you're gonna
give it. I haven't been back since, but they will
get an earfull. On the other side, they don't treat
Hall of famers like that.
Speaker 1 (49:56):
They need to know better. I'll call them for you.
Speaker 2 (49:58):
By the way, have you seen that red ostriche logo
on professional baseball postseason helmets? That's Strauss family owned since
nineteen forty eight and trusted by pros worldwide. Pants built
like tools, durable, comfortable, and engineered to perform from grit
to glory. Gear up now at Strauss dot com. That's
(50:21):
st ra Uss dot com. Speaking of the baseball playoffs,
the American League playoffs are today, So we get the
Yankees trying to rebound after game blown out by the
Blue Jays yesterday, and while bad news for the Mariners
they got to go Agains Schoble after losing at home yesterday.
But I want to ask you about the Dodgers, because
here's the bottom line. The defending World Series champions, trying
(50:44):
to become the first team in twenty five years to
defend their World Series championship. If you go back to
the end of the regular season, are currently on an
eight game winning streak.
Speaker 1 (50:57):
Yes, sir, and you know I got it. You know me,
I got a very lap. We've been sitting here all
off season football, all seamon baseball season, kept telling people, guys,
don't worry about anybody else in the National League. The
Dodgers are still gonna be the best team. I stuck
my head in the office when I got here and
told Monts. I said, yeah, how about those Prodres? How
about those Padres? Everybody was so afraid, Like bro, they
(51:19):
have a great bullpen, which was to it, but darbage
got bombed. And then how about this.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
The Brewers scored more runs in the first inning against
the Cubs than the Padres did in three games against
the Cubs.
Speaker 1 (51:34):
So, speaking of the Brewers, did you guys see the
stat that was their largest open and serious victory margin
in the history of their friends? Did I read that
car see?
Speaker 3 (51:43):
That was my fun fact for you guys. Later in
the show. Really take.
Speaker 2 (51:48):
Actually in one.
Speaker 3 (51:51):
Games, any chance to uh dump on the Padres, I'll
take it. At this point.
Speaker 1 (51:55):
I've been on them all season. They're the Buffalo Bills
of Major League Baseball every year.
Speaker 3 (51:59):
What does having a great bullpen matter if you can't
score runs?
Speaker 1 (52:02):
Thank you? Here, here's what I do have to say, though.
Speaker 2 (52:04):
The Brewers, by the way, beat the Dodgers all six
times they face head to head this year. And I said,
all season long, why are everyone dismissing the Blue Jays
and the Brewers For the most part, these had These
two teams had the best record, and look what they
did in their first playoff games yesterday, Absolute blowout victories.
All right, six games going on around the NFL. We're
closing in on halftimes. We'll break it all down for you.
(52:27):
This is end Zone Radio. The ball at the two
yard line hurts Park, Cliff Thanks fires.
Speaker 1 (52:33):
Touchdown, touchdown.
Speaker 14 (52:36):
Dallas gutted off to Barkley, took it back, he hit,
Dallas guttered inside the white pylon.
Speaker 2 (52:44):
That's ninety four WIP Eagles Radio Network. Eagles with a
ten to three lead against the Broncos. However, they just
had a punt back to the Broncos, and it was
a bad punt, could have pinned them deep and it
went into the end zone. So Broncos will take over
right now, little over two minutes to go in the
first half, trailing the Eagles by a score of ten
(53:05):
to three. All right, quick rundown of the scores. Right now,
Colets lead the Raiders. He's are all late in the
second quarter, thirty four seconds left. Colts lead the Raiders
fourteen to three. They also have the ball at the
Raiders fifteen yard line. Giants Saints, a battle of bad teams,
fourteen thirteen right now, Giants leading there at the two
minute warning. Cowboys trying to extend their lead against the Jets,
(53:28):
up ten three. They got a first down at the
Jets sixteen yard line. Minute to go in the half.
There Dolphins and the Panthers, and all of a sudden,
the Panthers trying to get back in this game. Trailing
the Dolphins seventeen to seven. They have a second down
at the Miami nineteen yard line, twenty eight seconds to
go in the half. And one game that looks like
it's over, like over right now. Texans blowing out the
(53:51):
Ravens twenty four to three.
Speaker 8 (53:54):
C J.
Speaker 2 (53:54):
Stroud fourteen to seventeen, one hundred and thirty seven yards,
three touchdown passes, Derek Henry six carries for eight yards.
And the Ravens are every bit as bad as a
lot of people feared they would be. And as he
said about a Texans team that hasn't shown any offense
all season long, that won't quickly change when you take
on the Ravens, and that's been the case today. So
(54:17):
the Ravens are on the verge of essentially elimination is
what we're looking at right now. We don't know the
Lamar Jackson situation. Again, when you're talking hamstring, you better
be ready. You better be one hundred percent with that
hamstring before you get back out on the field or
it could be a season ender. But the Ravens, the
way they look right now, you have to ban in
(54:37):
the running game. You're down twenty four to three, so
you're gonna have to throw the ball with Cooper. I
don't know, it's really looking bad for Baltimore.
Speaker 1 (54:45):
I have a real hard core opinion about Derrick Henry. Steve.
You and I are not too close in age, but
we watched enough sports. You remember a gentleman by the
name of Nick Anderson. Oh yeah, Orlando Magic, Yes, who
was a lights out, kickout three point shooter until he
got to the nineteen ninety four finals, ninety five, ninety five.
Excuse me, thank you, sir, Any Brick those free throw
(55:07):
those free throws at the end of game one, which
led to Shack and Penny getting swept. He was never
the same player again, No, he wasn't Derrick Henry. If
you guys remember the last fumble he had, just how
he almost broke down on the sideline. And I'm watching
this grown man having listen a tantrum, I said, right then,
(55:28):
you guys know, I'm a philosophy, psychology guy. I'm a
mental guy. When I go cover NFL games, I asked
questions about people's mentality. What was the mentality with this?
Could you explain this? What's the mentality with this? I
want to get in a player's brain. I saw the game.
Everyone else is gonna ask questions about the third and
five and the funk. I don't want to ask those questions.
(55:48):
I want to know what you're thinking. What's in the brain.
This guy looks like he might be on that Nick
Anderson where he just might not be the same ever again,
because he is literally cost him games earlier this year,
he's cost them every game. And that's hair trm. My
(56:09):
watching he had a breakdown, It's like being at my
daughter's ballet class yesterday and watching a five year old girl,
little girl that didn't want a team up another have
a breakdown. And I'm telling you, guys, this stuff matters.
And he doesn't look like Steve. They're not even giving
him the ball.
Speaker 2 (56:24):
I know you've been making this argument that you know
a lot of people who did not vote Lamar Jackson
MVP despite his ridiculous passing numbers had the argument, well,
of course he has those great numbers because then now
they had Derrick Henry, right. But if you really look
at it and you look at the struggle of Derrick
Henry today without Lamar Jackson, right, and no balance in
(56:47):
that offense, really thread of a passing game, teams stack
up their defense, and he is going nowhere, absolutely nowhere,
so absolutely said his disasters first half at home or
the Ravens getting blown out by the Texans twenty four
to three. By the way, the Cowboys just scored again.
They're up seventeen to three a minute to go in
(57:09):
the first half. There, Remember the promise of Justin Fields
in that shootout first game against Aaron Rodgers, and like, hey, hey, hey,
maybe we.
Speaker 1 (57:17):
Got we won the World two X quarterbacks going against
teams that just told them less than twelve months ago
you're not good enough to be here anymore. People show
up for that stuff. Guys. It's like running into your
ex with your new girlfriend or boyfriend. That's the best
date you're ever gonna have with that new person. It's
(57:38):
because you ran into your ex at Ruth Chris Steak counsel. Okay,
trust me, the rest of the dates aren't gonna be
that great. And that's how I looked at that game.
And even though this still was a three to one,
it's not really because Aaron Rodgers. It feels like their
opponents a little bit, and just some other things that
you already mentioned that's happened in AFC.
Speaker 3 (57:56):
All right.
Speaker 2 (57:56):
Meanwhile, the Colts all over the Raiders right now, leading
by a score of twenty to three. They actually did
go for a two point conversion. I don't know why.
They were up fourteen to three. You score again, and
then he went for a two pointer. But Daniel Jones
continues to perform sixteen to twenty four, one hundred and
(58:18):
forty two yards, two touchdowns, no picks for the Raiders.
We're getting a pattern here. Genty is the real deal.
Let me make it clear about Ashton gent height carries
forty two yards. He's averaging over five yards a clip,
and already he has forty two receiving yards, so eighty
four total yards for him. But Gino Smith, I mean,
(58:40):
you remember thinking about Geno was he was accurate and
he took care of the foot. He's been throwing interceptions
all over the place. I mean, it's just and he
is absolutely the bottom of the list ratings wise right
now amongst quarterbacks. So it's all Colts, and week after
week people are finally realizing we got to take the
Colt seriously. As long as Daniel Jones can perform at
(59:02):
the level that he's just maintaining right now. With Jonathan
Taylor in their running game, with that offensive line, that
Colts team could run away in that division.
Speaker 1 (59:11):
They're gonna end up twelve and five. Yeah, seriously, like
they're gonna sweep through their division.
Speaker 2 (59:17):
It really looks like, well, maybe the Texans bounce back.
Speaker 1 (59:21):
Yeah no, no, no, no, we can't do that because
we already know why they look good today. We already
know why they're bouncing back today, so we can't. It's
not gonna be sustainable because it hasn't been. You don't
get well off of one week. In my opinion, I
just thought that you get well off of one week
against a defense that has a lot of guys out.
But if you if you look at what the cults
are doing and what they're doing with Danny Dimes, this
(59:42):
is another example of a guy having one last shot
to show the league and show the football world. I
can do this now. Will they translate it to twenty
twenty six, twenty seven, twenty twenty eight. I don't know.
I don't have a crystal ball, but for right now,
we've seen it with Baker Mayfield. We see I mean, listen,
I don't think mac Jones is that good, but I
(01:00:04):
watched listen Thursday night. I felt like the game was
in Santa Clair. They didn't feel like it was in
so fight away. I had a friend Niner fans man
took that place over.
Speaker 2 (01:00:14):
I had a friend that was actually at the game.
Seventy well, I mean seventy five. I went on a
podcast this week, guy based out of Texas, and he
was asking about the NFL in LA. I go, nothing
has changed. This is the Rams tenth year back in LA.
This is the Chargers ninth year in LA. And yes
they do have their hardcore fan base. But have they
(01:00:37):
expanded on that.
Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
No, not at all.
Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
We walked the streets of Los Angeles. Are people buzzing
about the Rams and the Chargers. No, they're talking about
the Dodgers. They're getting ready for the Lakers. That's what
LA talks about. They don't talk about this. And so yeah,
I mean, you have a home game, huge matchup against
the forty nine Ers on a Thursday night game. It
was seventy five percent forty nine Er fans at Sofi
(01:01:04):
Stadium seventy five percent.
Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
And speaking of that game, because we haven't had a
chance to touch on that, man, listen it. And this
is why I had hesitation about the Rams, because that's
a game you can't let the backup quarterback. I don't care.
Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
Do you realize they were the biggest points spread underdog
to win a game straight up this year in the NFL?
Absolutely or eight and a half point dogs absolutely without
third quarterback, top three wide receivers, kittles out, everybody's out
for the year. No, and they and then then the
Rams are sleepwalking. They were down fourteen to nothing. I mean,
I don't know that it was a hangover after that
brutal loss of the Eagles. Whatever it might be, coach,
(01:01:41):
but they were not ready to go. And that fourth
down call mckvey got out, coach, What was that fourth
down call?
Speaker 1 (01:01:47):
Got out? Coached? See that's see pressure? Bus pipe?
Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
Was that?
Speaker 1 (01:01:51):
Or makes diamonds? Pressure does one or two things eight
either bus pipes or makes diamonds. And it and the
pressure of trying to make a ridiculous call like he did.
We saw this in college football year said, these coaches
are veteran coaches. These aren't rookies, These aren't young guys.
These are guys that have been in the fire, been
coaching for years, decades making these type of calls. And
(01:02:14):
it felt like he looked across the field.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
Like when it was unbelievable, I'm thinking to myself, I'm sorry,
is Puka de Kuistill in the game bank You just
had a touchdown where he did a one yard basically
look in fall into the end zone. It's fourth and one.
You had a time out, ye to get ready for this,
and you do one of those you know those arm
extended handoffs that you do to open up a game
where you're basically telegraphing to the entire defense stadium straight
(01:02:41):
extend the arm, full extension handoff that gets absolutely stuffed
at the line of scrimmage. And then afterwards Sean McVay was, yeah,
you know, that was really a bad call. I know
that he beat Kyle Shanahan in the biggest matchup they
ever had in the NFC Championship game a few years back.
But regular season Kyle Shanahan.
Speaker 1 (01:03:01):
Who's Who's Who's daddy? I love he owns Sean McVay.
I love coach McVeigh. He gives a great poster. Yeah,
and he's very He's very whenever I'm walking through the
locker room, he's very cordial. He speaks, says hello, he'll
stop and give you a little bit right there. But
the whole coolness, I'll blame myself only carries you so far.
Like because we want accountability, and that's fine. I'm a
(01:03:21):
big accountability guy, but I think we still get to
rip you if you even are being Hey, yup, that's
on me. That was a bad call. Why are you
making that call? Though, sir? You know better. You have
a Super Bowl ring, you've played, You've coached in two
of them. You come from one of the greatest coaching
trees in the history of the National Football League. You
(01:03:42):
can sit here and say that's on me, and it
sounds cool and it sounds like it's okay, But you
can't make that call. I have that from a rookie.
Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
Back that is having a career day. They hadn't stopped
Stafford the entire game.
Speaker 1 (01:03:56):
He's been on fire. He was absolutely been on fire.
Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
And that was your call on fourth and one. I
don't mind going for you should go for it. You
go for a tie there with the last and four
minutes to go in overtime, they go down again. He
made the right call to goal for it, but not
with that call.
Speaker 1 (01:04:12):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (01:04:13):
All right, let's find out what is twenty right now?
Once again, we're here in the Fox Sports Radio studios. Mantya,
how do you feel out against the right call? Chargers.
We're gonna start previewing some of these afternoon games, including
the Chargers hosting the Commanders.
Speaker 1 (01:04:29):
Don't do that. I'm just saying, don't do that. So
what are you feeling good about the Chargers?
Speaker 11 (01:04:35):
No, we who talked about I'm nervous. I mean, I'm nervous.
Speaker 1 (01:04:38):
I didn't like.
Speaker 11 (01:04:39):
I didn't like what I would.
Speaker 10 (01:04:41):
I understand that when you lose a player, you know
it's tough, but I didn't like the attitude I saw
from the Chargers once Joe Alt went down last week.
So hopefully they shake it off and they put up
a fight against Juden Daniels and the Commanders.
Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
Well, I mean, justin Herbert put it on himself. He goes,
I gotta play better.
Speaker 11 (01:04:56):
Yeah, and he does.
Speaker 1 (01:04:57):
Remember West Coast teams, maybe that we've talked about that
ten am start. You could see they woke up a
little late, but once they got it going once again,
alts out, there's no rhythm there, and now we're trying
to be Superman and go win it by himself, which we've.
Speaker 11 (01:05:14):
Seen in the past. Yeah, and it hasn't worked out.
Speaker 10 (01:05:16):
So it's just like, I don't know, I don't know.
I'm just I didn't like what I saw. They left
a bad taste in my mouth last week.
Speaker 1 (01:05:22):
So it's hard to feel, you know, but they got
they got you.
Speaker 10 (01:05:26):
Back to that, I put on my jersey and I
you know what I'm saying. So all good six games
going on. Most of them are at halftime, if not
headed into halftime. The Giants were on the drive, maybe
trying to get a field goal, and Jackson Dart threw
a pass to Darius Slayton who fumbled lost the ball.
Saints got control, ran it down a little bit, so
now Saints have the chance to put some points up
(01:05:49):
before the half. There's about ten seconds to go and
they're at the Giants ten yard line, so we'll see
what the Saints ends up doing here. The Cowboys just
court again. They are just crushing the Jets. E three
to three is the score. There also about fifteen seconds
to go. Eagles over the Broncos ten to three. A
lot of defense in this game, for sure, but Jalen
hurds thirteen of nineteen one hundred and thirty eight yards
(01:06:11):
and one touchdown to Dallas Goddter. Saquon Barkley five carries
for thirty yards at the half. Two of Togo Iloa
has thorn for one hundred and fifty one yards and
two touchdowns. But Bryce Young did connect with Xavier Leaguetz.
So the Dolphins are up on the Panthers seventeen to ten.
All Texans against the Ravens twenty four to three at
the half.
Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
C J.
Speaker 10 (01:06:29):
Stroud has thrown for one hundred and thirty seven yards
and three touchdowns. Two of them have gone to Xavier
Hutchinson and the Colts and the Raiders, well, it's all
Indian this one, twenty to three is the score at
the half. Earlier today in London, the Vikings defeated the
Browns twenty one to seventeen.
Speaker 11 (01:06:45):
Minnesota improves to three and two. Dylan Gabriel in his debut.
Speaker 10 (01:06:49):
For Cleveland as a starter, nineteen of thirty three, one
hundred and ninety yards and two touchdowns. And when it
comes to the APE College Football Poll, you cla number one. No,
I'm sorry they did not get into the top twenty
five of Penn State and Texas fell out of the
top twenty five I should have for the first time
since twenty twenty two after both of them lost to
(01:07:10):
unranked teams. Iowa State took the biggest fall out of
any team that remained in the top twenty five. They
fell eight spots to number twenty two after losing to Cincinnati.
Speaker 11 (01:07:19):
Number nine is Texas Tech. They just beat Houston.
Speaker 10 (01:07:22):
They cracked the top ten for the first time since
twenty since two thousand and eight, and the top five
are Ohio State, Miami, Oregon, Mississippi, Texas, A and S.
Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
Where are Okay? Where are my Wolverines? How far did
we move up? Because a lot of ranked teams lost yesterday?
Speaker 11 (01:07:36):
Michigan isn't at fifteen?
Speaker 1 (01:07:37):
Okay? Love it, so love it.
Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
Here's the thing about Texas and Penn State pre season
one two. Yes, I guarantee you this.
Speaker 1 (01:07:44):
They started the.
Speaker 2 (01:07:45):
Preseason poll AP in nineteen fifty I would guarantee you
without looking it up, that there has never been a
situation where the top two teams rank in the preseason
poll both dropped out of the polls.
Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
This quek. It's early.
Speaker 11 (01:07:58):
I know it's crazy. There's no way it's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:08:01):
So both Texas was number one, Penn State number two
in the AP preseason pol and they're both out of
the top twenty five really quick.
Speaker 1 (01:08:09):
You know why this is happening. The nil people have
been knocking in the transfer portal a lot of people
have been knocking. But I think what this is given
is a chance for seasons like this to happen because
you get some of these quarterbacks or some of these
players that are three and four stars in schools because
they may not have played for a great high school
and they play with other two and three and four stars.
(01:08:30):
But if they get a chance to transfer and go
play with other four and five star kids, then you
can start to see, Okay, this kid can play with
other if he's good, if he's got other people around him.
It's hard. You look at the Florida State quarterback who
just got mott last night by Miami's defense. But he
comes out of a Boston college where he's not playing
(01:08:51):
with a bunch of great players. First player there had
ever run for two thousand yards, I passed for two
thousand and run for a two thousand season, comes down
to Florida State and has this resurgence, but he's playing
with other five star kids and Carson Beck your guy. Hey,
I think people forgot this guy's won a national championship
and went three and one with Georgia. It was just
(01:09:11):
Jets was just sent away like he was garbage. By
the way, having had a Heisman vote. Did you know
I have a Heisman vote? And yeah, talking about it.
Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
So but since I've had a Highsmomen vote since twenty ten,
I cannot recall a season where we're this deep in
the season where there is no oh no, there's nothing.
I mean you now, look at Alabama Simpson, he's in play.
Obviously you mentioned Carson Beck for touchdowns on the road
against Florida State. I mean to put you in the well,
(01:09:41):
we haven't had a Heisman moment. We really have nothing
like that. I would almost say, uh, you know, if you.
Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
Had a vote, you have a vote. But if you
had to put it down right now October fifth, which
you don't, but if you had to, I.
Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
Would say, right now, it would be between since Mendoza.
But I no, I mean again, for Beck to have
four touchdown passes on the road against Florida State, that's impressing.
Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
I think it's Beck man. Did you see those throws
last night? I mean this guy.
Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
And by the way, now remember this. Five of the
last six quarterbacks, the exception being Bryce Young, but five
of the last six quarterbacks to win the Heisman were transfers.
Speaker 1 (01:10:22):
Five of the last six.
Speaker 2 (01:10:23):
Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, Joe Burrow, Caleb Williams, and Jayden
Daniels were all transfer quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (01:10:30):
Man, you know what's funny, you guys didn't mention the
guy that's the current favorite who is a transfer quarterback.
Who's that Dante Moore.
Speaker 2 (01:10:37):
Well here's the thing about Dante Moore. So I watched
the game against obviously against Penn State, and he is
a transfer quarterback.
Speaker 1 (01:10:43):
Obviously he started UCLA. No, he's in the mix.
Speaker 2 (01:10:47):
But that's the point I'm you were just throwing out.
This is going to get down to absolutely the conference
championship games that last weekend before the vote, it's go
in whoever stands out.
Speaker 5 (01:11:02):
I still think like, look, South Carolina is about to
play a stretch of l s U, Oklahoma, Alabama, Old Miss.
Like sure, but there's many chances for sellers to ball
out the wait.
Speaker 2 (01:11:13):
By the way, Matier, even though he's out right now,
when you look at the back end the schedule, well
he's still odds. Wide's like the number two guy in
the list.
Speaker 3 (01:11:23):
If I had to vote personally, I would vote for
Jeremiah Love. Notre Dame is not going to have the
the wins. To do that, but I think he's been
the best player in football through six weeks.
Speaker 1 (01:11:33):
Well, look out, I would like to throw in one
of the US.
Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
I mean, Nico, I'm telling you right now, if this kid,
if you sell it, gets on a roll right now,
starts winning games, you said it's gonna win there many times.
Speaker 1 (01:11:45):
Covering the game Saturday night, Michigan is about to come
out here. Put all it at you stuff you're talking.
Speaker 3 (01:11:50):
To what it's going to be, mikay lemon or.
Speaker 1 (01:11:55):
I like I like Beck because his defense will allow
him to continue to have a lot of offensive possessions.
And listen, man, I'm watching. I picked Florida State, so
I missed that last night. But when you see these
weapons that he has to throw the ball to, true
freshman sophomore, this team is not as oh, Marty, I listen,
(01:12:15):
Crystal ball could dare I say a national championship game
Miami versus Oregon.
Speaker 2 (01:12:21):
Could be wooh, could be absolutely anything. It's wide open,
I mean, and a lot of it has to do
what we've been talking about with the nil money and
bringing all these transfers. You know you love it, the
idea of bringing in twenty twenty five fresh faces from
twenty five different programs, college kids and getting him all
on the same page at the same time.
Speaker 1 (01:12:41):
By the way, how about Bill Belichick?
Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
I know, hey, how about that that Leo? Listen, How's
life been for Bill Belichick? Ever since Tom Brady walked? Listen,
can we talk about that for a moment? Here, the
great Bill Belichick? After Tom Brady walked, How's.
Speaker 1 (01:12:56):
That been for him? On stadium? There was nobody after.
Speaker 2 (01:12:59):
The first Well, when you talk about the cover was
Bear who was the general manager of the team. Lot's
Bill Belichick? Yeah, same thing here. He literally talked about
after North Carolina got blown out by Clemson down twenty
three in the first quarter, he was talking about, we
just don't have the talent. Well, the saying that about
(01:13:22):
his own football team and his quarterback says, we have
the talent, Well, we just need to start winning games.
Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
Well, I'll tell you this, I'm gonna defend Bill Belichick
this year because sixty something new players. Okay, guys, we've
seen this happen in college football. It is a turnover.
They do got to get more talent. And what quarterback
should do? Stand your plays, young man, like, honestly, stand
your place and follow your coach, because that man has
forgotten more football than you will ever know.
Speaker 2 (01:13:49):
He's forgotten football apparently. And listen because that is embarrassing.
It is embarrassing. Three games that they've had against quality opponents,
they have gotten.
Speaker 1 (01:13:58):
Blown and needed. Right, they're one in three going Intend
North Carolina and need it.
Speaker 2 (01:14:04):
No, really, they can go to Intend this year and
they're good. Not to inten they're gonna go. They're not
gonna have a winning season.
Speaker 1 (01:14:11):
No they're not. They're not at five and seven. But
at five and seven is what? Okay, So let me
ask that they could easily splash Caroline. What do we
expect Carolina to be? Did you expect them to be
eight and four? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:14:22):
You basically forced Mac Brown out the door to replay
some of Bill Belichick. Did you think things were gonna
get worse? Because they have gotten considerably worse.
Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
You're over there, pass over this way. Your face is
no way worse. All right.
Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
We're gonna get to break down some of the games,
including this matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the
Seattle Seahawks. We got some interesting numbers about Baker Mayfield
to share. This is end Zone Radio first.
Speaker 14 (01:14:52):
Intent ustad at the Ravens twenty six Nick Chubb in
the backfield with C. J.
Speaker 1 (01:14:56):
Stroud, who stands with the gun. Let's pressure coming, give
us a chub up the middle, big hole.
Speaker 14 (01:15:00):
He'st of the twenty fifteen ten five touchdown, a twenty
six yard touchdown run for Nick Chubb, and the day
went from bad to worse. On the Ravens first offensive possession.
I'm not sure what's worse on the spectrum then worse,
but we're getting there in a hurry.
Speaker 4 (01:15:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:15:20):
That's ninety eight Rock Ravens Radio Network describing yet another
touchdown for the Texans thirty one to three in Baltimore.
Can you imagine being a Ravens fan that paid to
see this debacle for the Ravens.
Speaker 3 (01:15:40):
And yes, my.
Speaker 2 (01:15:42):
Talking about John Harbaugh being overrated in full force today
as he obviously did not have his team ready at
all forfeited the game essentially without his star quarterback and
injuries and everything else.
Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
What happened to next?
Speaker 2 (01:15:58):
Man up, man up, sholot pride, evens are absolutely folding
up and embarrassing themselves by the way, They're gonna have
to punt again as they get nothing going offensively and
Derek Henry stuck six carries eight yards.
Speaker 1 (01:16:12):
This is as much a coach situation as it is
anything else.
Speaker 3 (01:16:15):
I think this might be the earliest time we've ever
seen a team game get preempted because they're not that
we have Colts Raiders on in your now, that was
Ravens Texans. So I changed that.
Speaker 1 (01:16:25):
We had to get that game out. Thirty one get off.
It's Here's here's the thing. I'm one and four. I
just when you when you don't have your MVP caliber
guy on the field and you're missing they're missing key guys,
not just key guys every week. I don't want to
hear excuses.
Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
It's not an excuse the teams that overcome injuries after
Oh but.
Speaker 1 (01:16:51):
We just thought this would be trying to playoffs last year,
and everybody knows we've.
Speaker 2 (01:16:54):
Seen teams win Super Bowls with backup quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (01:16:57):
That's a backup quarterback. But your star left tackle, your
running back, your d tackle, your star safety, your your
star middle lineback. Where you guys are now, You're paying
guys to play right, but do your backup for a reason.
That's John harbough By the way.
Speaker 14 (01:17:10):
I'm not.
Speaker 1 (01:17:11):
I'm not selling on them just yet. Go yeah, I'm
just yet. Not for me, not yet. By the way,
we we do uh. We had a lot of.
Speaker 2 (01:17:19):
Over under picks on wins before the season began. Here
we have a series of these we'll have over the
course of the year.
Speaker 1 (01:17:25):
VJ and I.
Speaker 2 (01:17:26):
That's one that I can almost chalk up. My under
prediction for the Ravens.
Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
Eleven and a half. Right, it was eleven and a half.
Speaker 2 (01:17:32):
I said, under they get to six losses, the under
is secure and today will be.
Speaker 1 (01:17:37):
That fourth loss. So they're getting close. Eagles, let's go,
say Kwan with a touch on a big run right here,
This Denver offense guys three points awful Bonnicks though bick
b nex no nos Bonicks is uh the past the
saikwam my apologies, you guys are out on.
Speaker 3 (01:17:55):
Sean Payton's secret formula that said that the guy he
drafted was actually the best quarterback in the draft lat.
Speaker 2 (01:18:02):
He was the second best quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:18:04):
Sean Payton is a liar.
Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
You hate Sean Payton. You just hate him. There's so
much so I'm not trying to be I said this
back and I sat next to this gentleman back in
April and this scene. I said this, I said, I
am not buying that. He That's not who he wanted.
They tried to trade up, they tried, so don't tell
me that you want it, Bodi. But you had to
(01:18:27):
say it, right you, and you had to say it.
If you don't get the first option of the girl
at the bar, you don't go well, I wanted the
red hit. No you you say no, no. This is
the one that I really come on and I get it.
I would be in the car my homie. Hey, bro,
that's not who you want it. But I get why
you had to say that at the at the bar.
Just now, I get it. Dog. That's where I am
(01:18:48):
with it, and that's where I've always been with it. Listen,
I I watched him in college bow and you know me,
I'm a tape guy. When you put them on tape
against certain teams. Even though Oregon had a good year
and had a nice little run, there were times you
would seeing go, man, he's got some really loaded guys
that throw the ball to But is bow Nick's gonna
go in the league and carry your team there?
Speaker 2 (01:19:11):
Look at that picture me and Sean, Hey, look it
that the two of us hanging out. He was a
great guy down in Norton. Look, I'm the first to
say I was all in on the Broncos this year.
Look at that and they are down seventeen to three,
and you're already in the second half of that game,
and it is not looking good for the Broncos right now.
By the way, Jalen hurts putting him numbers sixteen of
(01:19:31):
twenty three, two hundred twelve yards and two touchdowns. But
the big question is how about AJ Brown? Four catches
thirty five yards. Meanwhile, Davonte Smith five catches ninety six yards.
So AJ Brown is sitting there not putting up numbers
(01:19:52):
at all, and yet Davonte Smith is is finding a
way to get down the field and putting up some
pretty nice numbers.
Speaker 1 (01:20:01):
Nothing to me, it's a lot of white noise. You're
winning now. If winning's not enough, that's what That's where
I'm going now. If winning and I like AJ and
I've defended AJ the book everything, I've defended AJ. But
if you don't like, if winning is not enough for you, buddy,
let us know where you want to go. I'm I'm serious,
(01:20:21):
and I made the joke about the Dolphins. I'm sre
tell us where you want to go. If winning not
enough for you, then okay, they just tell us where
you want to go, because the last time I checked,
all we do here is win double digits. We've been
to two. Okay, I know we got a super Bowl win.
You want to win or not?
Speaker 2 (01:20:41):
Okay, you want him with the Dolphins?
Speaker 1 (01:20:42):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:20:43):
So okay, give me, give me a package. I'm the
egos right now. I mean, I'm gonna hand you a J.
Speaker 1 (01:20:49):
Brown.
Speaker 2 (01:20:50):
Give me a package. What are you giving up?
Speaker 1 (01:20:51):
You're gonna have a third round. You can have whatever
defend third or fourth round and take your defender. Chuck
Robinson's like, god, two number one? What you're not getting
two number ones for AJ Brown when he's actively I
certainly won eight.
Speaker 2 (01:21:05):
Number one for AJ Brown rocks and you're stuck with nothing?
Speaker 1 (01:21:10):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:21:10):
Much Mark? Coming up is Enzo Radio, all right, trying
to make some sense of what we're already seeing on
this third fifth Sunday of this twenty twenty five NFL season.
This is end Zone Radio on the Fox Sports Radio studios.
I would love to say we got a lot of
nail biers going on right now. We really only have
a couple of games that in the moment look competitive.
(01:21:34):
The Saints leading the Giants by a score of sixteen
to fourteen, and the Dolphins trying to hang on after
an early seventeen nothing lead, now lead the Panthers seventeen
to thirteen. However, I'm looking up at the Broncos right now,
who've done nothing offensively in this game. Down seventeen to
three to the Eagles. But at least on this drive,
and again we're in the middle of the third quarter
(01:21:56):
right now, the Broncos are on the move. They gotten
the ball down to the thirty five yard line of
the Eagles. The problem today for the Broncos is simple.
Bo Nicks eleven of twenty two just ninety yards and
they can't get anything going with that offensive game. JK
Dobbins running the ball pretty well, just had a seventeen
yard run. But the Bronco is trying to get back
(01:22:18):
in this game against the Eagles. But I think this
is something we talked about at the very top of
the show here VJ. Is we're gonna get into Week
five now a little separation. We're gonna get a little
separation of the haves and the have nots, and I
think that's been on full display so far today.
Speaker 1 (01:22:37):
I have a take about these quarterbacks. If you have
a bad quarterback this year, oh look at Geno Smith.
But guess what, no helps on the way we've talked
about these college kids that we're supposed to be, you know,
first round picks, right, you got Penn State's quarterback, you
got LSU's quarterback. We've already we've already dogged arch manny
(01:22:58):
as we're watching.
Speaker 2 (01:22:58):
I think a pick six here, I think they called
him out at the six yard and they called him out.
Speaker 1 (01:23:03):
He does step out, though, but another intercepts, Oh god,
he steps off twice. Yeah, and you don't trying to
go over to Bylong. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:23:14):
Like he scored like literally running out of bounds the
entire way down. But twenty six to three Colts right now,
they'm about to score more.
Speaker 1 (01:23:21):
But if you have a bad quarterback, there's there's nothing
coming to help you, unless you're just that good in
finding a diamond in the rough that we just don't
know about, or somebody that's just not getting talked about.
I think Carson beck is, I mean, he's gonna be
a pro next year. But that's one guy. If you're
in his team struggling with your young quarterback, you're gonna
have to hunker down and don't push the panic button
(01:23:43):
so fast and try to replace them so quickly because
there's not a lot of help coming from the next level,
i e. Be in college. This bo next thing is
just really it's not just him. This offense just isn't clicking.
But when you look at their weapons, who who was
the top guy? I know Sutton's had some moments, but
would you look at how Sutton and put him as
(01:24:04):
a top ten or even a top twelve receiver in
the league? I exactly. So you don't even have a
top twelve to fifteen guy to throw to. Your running
back has been kind of a young journey man. Where
are you turn it to for offense? Go ahead and
talk it. I know you want to say. By the way,
you're gonna love this.
Speaker 5 (01:24:21):
I know you.
Speaker 2 (01:24:22):
Anytime something really one of my bad predictions, I own
up to it. So yesterday I sat in for Martin
on the show with Monci Fox Sports Saturday, so we
had to pick an upset special and my upset special, Wow,
was to pick the Raiders straight up against the coach,
(01:24:46):
can we get I just want to verify this one,
she said, because it really I only had to pick
against the spread, but I'm going none and I'm going
all in on this show.
Speaker 1 (01:24:55):
Raiders straight up win.
Speaker 2 (01:24:59):
I guess the right now only down.
Speaker 1 (01:25:01):
Thirty two, that's three.
Speaker 11 (01:25:03):
Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 1 (01:25:03):
There got him where they won him.
Speaker 2 (01:25:06):
But even you scoffed. And you've heard a lot about.
Speaker 11 (01:25:10):
I think is what I said.
Speaker 1 (01:25:11):
I said, bird, Wow, tell us, because I know you
heard me ask the way.
Speaker 2 (01:25:19):
I'm just curious. Does Martin get credit for my picks?
Speaker 1 (01:25:21):
I hope?
Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
So, okay, you someone as producer, But I just tell
tell Martin when he gets back that Ian decided whatever
Hartman picks will go on your ledger. Yes, and he
picked the Raiders straight off the set.
Speaker 1 (01:25:36):
What was your upset? From?
Speaker 10 (01:25:37):
My upset was Giants beating the Saints because the Saints
were favored to win, and.
Speaker 11 (01:25:42):
I was like, I do not understand this at all.
Obviously it's a close game. I thought the Giants would win.
Speaker 2 (01:25:46):
The Jackson by the way, Saints have a second goal
at the Giants ten yard line, and the Saints are
leading that game after a hot star Remember that first
series from Jackson dark yeah.
Speaker 10 (01:25:58):
No, and even his well he fumbled in I don't
know if he fumbled you would say, or just like
drop the ball.
Speaker 11 (01:26:03):
I'm not it doesn't look like anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:26:06):
The bad weeks he starts out high and comes back
down to earth. That's guys.
Speaker 10 (01:26:11):
And we also last week at the end he got
them another touchdown to like you know what I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:26:15):
Saying, so drive at the end, but exactly yea, we
saw Tim Tebow make last minute drives too, and we
all blew that up and thought that was going to
win anything. Oh no, well it could still come to
his fourteen. It listens sixteen fourteen. The Giants are a
better football team, better, they better win this. They should
and that shit listen, they're gonna ruin my oh and
seventeen prediction. Okay, don't forget. I think the Saints to
(01:26:39):
go oh and seventeen.
Speaker 2 (01:26:40):
We got a fourth down right now because the Saints
they're not good, so they're gonna end up suddenly for
a field goal here to try to increase it lead
to nineteen fourteen if the field goal is good. Meanwhile,
we've got the Ravens down thirty four to three. Now scoring.
Look at that they have scored. Field goal is good
(01:27:01):
in nineteen forty right now, so yeah, right right, And
Derrick Henry is in the end zone. He now has
twelve carries for twenty one yards. That's a one point
eight yards per carry, and he did score a touchdown.
So the Ravens on the comeback trail down thirty four
to ten with two minutes to go in the third
(01:27:22):
quarter to the houton he.
Speaker 1 (01:27:23):
Could mentally be done. I'm going to stand on at
the rest of this year until I see different. I
only go on with my eyes. Tell me, man, and
they're not giving him the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:27:33):
Steve, Okay, I want to give the ball to a
guy by the name of Baker Mayfield.
Speaker 1 (01:27:38):
I got some interesting numbers.
Speaker 2 (01:27:39):
This is going to matchup coming up here between the
buck Eardeers and in the Seahawks. Both these team's coming
with a three to one record. We have to admit
Sam Darnold has played fine. He's played okay, so there's
not a huge drop off from what we saw. He
doesn't have the same offensive talent around him that he
had in Minnesota, but he has been playing fine. But
when you look it's some of these numbers for Baker Mayfield.
(01:28:03):
Do you know that he has more touchdown passes than
any quarterback since twenty twenty three in the entire NFL?
Do do you know that he has a passer rating
of one hundred and two in the final two minutes
of a game since twenty twenty three, That, by the way,
is the fourth highest in the league. This guy has
one great stat after another. And by the way I
(01:28:24):
did this was in the Super Bowl era, so we're
going back sixty years. The Buccaneers were the first team
in the Super Bowl era to have a game winning
score in the final minute of the first three games,
and they had a chance against the Eagles and came
up short. Here's another thing about the Buccaneers road game
against the Seahawks. We both agree the Seahawks got a
(01:28:45):
pretty good running game.
Speaker 1 (01:28:46):
You know right now won two punch man man Zach Zach.
Speaker 2 (01:28:50):
Buccaneers have held their opponents to under one hundred yards
rushing for twelve straight games, and they have not allowed
a running back to rush for even fifty yards in
their last twelve games.
Speaker 1 (01:29:06):
You know why, Vita Veda man? Oh yeah, that guy,
big man, that big man, that big man up front.
Remember the grave digger for the for the Packers. Was
it Gilbert?
Speaker 10 (01:29:18):
Was his name?
Speaker 1 (01:29:19):
Was it Guilt? That guy? And he had guys like
Naga right for Holy Naga for the Ravens. Like there's
these teams that if you just get you a big
anchor on the defensive line, think about no one uses
a nose tackle anymore. Is that even a position in
football anyway? It's like fullback, right, is that even a
position anymore? But that nose tackle. You get one of
(01:29:40):
those bad boys up front that can just hold the
fort down, which allows your linebackers, which they have great linebackers,
and they got good safeties there and Tampa to just
roam and run free and make plays. That's what Tampa
has I told you doing a commercial break, this could
be one of the most interesting games to day. In
the last twenty two games, Seattle seventeen and five as
(01:30:01):
the favorites, but in the last five games against the
spread as dogs, the Bucks are four and one. So
the Bucks today are a dog on the road. But
also Seattle is playing at home as the faith three
and a half point favorite when I grabbed it last night,
So I think the Buccaneers if Mike Evans. I don't know,
(01:30:21):
boy found out for me yet. Mike Evans suits up today,
he is not He's not gonna play to Zil today.
Speaker 2 (01:30:28):
To put it this way, he's not.
Speaker 1 (01:30:29):
Expected to play today. So then it must be game
time decision there, which is about I would say within
the next fifteen to twenty minutes, because this is very
Donalds twelve out here on the West coast. If they
if they've already gone him through his pregame at this point,
they've already gone through the pre game, they already know.
But I just think this could be an interesting game.
I think both these teams are gonna be really interesting
(01:30:50):
coming down the stretch because of what their divisions looked like.
We thought we expected a little more from Atlanta, and
then they go get blown out thirty one to nothing
to the Panthers, who only mustered up thirteen points against
my Dolphins defense. So just week the week, man, you
just never know. Any chance to tightens. Anybody can upset
the cards today seven and a half point Favorite Cards
at home. Any anybody, anybody, No.
Speaker 2 (01:31:11):
Can Ward, no well, no war magic this afternoon. I'm
curious because now VJ has been making a lot of
on the show. No no, no, no, no, what happened there?
Speaker 1 (01:31:22):
It's just a sound bite. Okay, I know, uh.
Speaker 2 (01:31:26):
V Day makes a lot of pics on the show,
which I love because you know, I know people wish
I'd made more picks so that they can go against him.
Speaker 1 (01:31:33):
I just won't do that. I'm not going to hand
you money. You don't have to do your own homework.
Speaker 2 (01:31:38):
But the prime example of this and VJ really digs in. Okay,
he digs in. He see trends. You know, you got
stuff to back up your picks. You're not just blindly
making picks like I do so many times. And a
couple of weeks ago, I think he had really lights
out week and then last week it came back to her.
And so when you have that happen where you say
(01:31:59):
you start feeling a little confidence right like I'm seeing
certain trends right now, and now I feel like, Okay,
I got a little bit of a handle on this season.
And then just when you think you got it, you don't.
And that's the National Football League. This is the insanity.
I get it, I really do get it. Why people
are so intrigued placing their money harder money on these
(01:32:21):
games because you really don't know and you know, I mean, like,
look at this Dolphins Panthers game. Right it was seventeen
nothing Dolphins and a blink of an eye, and they're
like cashing in seventeen thirteen right now, Panthers aren't doing much.
In fact, they're punting right now with thirteen seconds to
(01:32:41):
on the third quarter. But the fact is what looked
like a blowout is a game as we head into
the fourth quarter.
Speaker 1 (01:32:48):
And not only that, just my attention to just two
later games we haven't talked about today and tomorrow Patriots
and Bill's eight and a half favorite Bills at home.
But we saw this last week with the Saints did
not cover, did not cover, And then the Chiefs look
like they should walk into Jacksonville little money and they
pull right okay, but only three and a half point
favors over a round the forty five and a half.
But does Trevor Lawrence get it finally going or did
(01:33:10):
the Chiefs just look good against some bad defenses when
you talk about the Giants who they had to score
late to win, and then they walk through the Ravens.
But we see the Ravens getting walked through today. So
how good are these sees? Once again?
Speaker 2 (01:33:22):
You think you have the bill to cover as the Patriots.
Guys at home, you better cover this. But the Patriots.
You have to admit the Patriots because it plays tough well.
And we're seeing a little more confidence out of Drake
may we are. You know it's slow, but you can
see he's building confidence right now, making more plays than
(01:33:42):
we've seen recently. Look, if the Saints can cover against
the Bills, the Patriots are better than the Saints are better.
Speaker 1 (01:33:52):
I'm not sure. I'm not sure they are because I'm
watching this Saints team now. And just to throw it
back to Jackson Dartis, we love to jump around from
game to game here on in Zono Fox Sports Radio. Listen,
you and I both we we I don't. I don't
know if I like him as much as you do.
I know you you have a thing with with Jackson dark.
I don't want to see him fail. I'm not that guy.
I'm just the jury to me is just still out.
(01:34:13):
Is he gonna be the guy? Or would the Giants
be looking for a new quarterback because when Dable gets fired,
because he will if the new coach or new jail
whatldever come in If Jackson Dart's not there, Guy, guys,
they're gonna draft or try to get another quarterback.
Speaker 2 (01:34:27):
No, they're not the That's not the way that organization
is run. I mean, the only reason that Brian Abeles
still there is they got tired of firing coaches every
two years. But they're committed in firing. They're committed to
Jackson dark you think, absolutely, and whoever they're gonna they're
going to interview coaches about to action based on what are.
Speaker 1 (01:34:48):
You gonna do with Jackson Dart? Okay, like the Dolphins
did with McDaniel. Absolutely they did. They They say, we're
not get rid of Toua, So you got to sell
us that you can work with Tua you because he's
not going anywhere.
Speaker 2 (01:34:58):
Guy could not do we wanted to do with Jackson Dart.
He certainly didn't do it with Daniel Jones, who now
has proven that at the very least, by the way
Daniel Jones today twenty a twenty nine, two hundred twelve yards,
two touchdowns. Man, at the very least, Daniel Jones is
a passable quarterback.
Speaker 1 (01:35:15):
Is this real? What we're seeing it? Come on, give
it to me is this real what we're seeing it
from Daniel Jones until I see no.
Speaker 2 (01:35:22):
I think he has a running game first of all right,
he did when he had Saquon Barkley and then game
when the.
Speaker 1 (01:35:29):
Playoffs I have.
Speaker 3 (01:35:30):
He lives out there too, better than me.
Speaker 2 (01:35:34):
Like I just I just think Brian Dable as celebrated
as he was as the quarterback, Guru made Josh Allen
into the quarterback he is. He's not a head coach.
Everybody's a head coach. They're gonna put fifty points up today, guys.
They just scored again.
Speaker 5 (01:35:49):
I know we're out of games to switch this one
off for him, like running out of games that are not.
Speaker 2 (01:35:53):
We are just we have blowout city, a very cold
scorer on a Jonathan Taylor touch thirty eight to three.
Speaker 1 (01:35:59):
Right now?
Speaker 2 (01:36:00):
Wow, is Pete Carroll going to get fired this week?
Speaker 1 (01:36:03):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:36:04):
I mean Gino Smith has been an absolutely come braving
to Hey. By the way, during the baseball postseason, Strauss
made history as the first brand ever on helmets family
owns since nineteen forty eight. Strauss makes work where built
to perform smart pocket design, real comfort and durability you
can trust. From grit to glory gear up today at
(01:36:26):
strauss dot com. That's str auss dot com. Speaking of
the baseball playoffs, We've got the American League Playoffs today,
Blue Jays, Yankees, and the Tigers going up against the Mariners.
Let's talk about schoobl for a second here. Terrek Scooballo
(01:36:46):
is going to win his second straight Young were fourteen
strikeouts in his last postseason start for the Mariners. They
needed to win that first game at home and they lost.
Now they get Derek Scuball. But when you talk out
the postseason, that's really what it comes down to. If
you have one dominant pitcher, or like the Nationals did
(01:37:07):
in twenty nineteen, they had Sureser and they had Straws
and they just went right through everybody to win a
World Shit, that's all you need.
Speaker 1 (01:37:14):
We've seen it with the Red Sox, We've seen it
with the Yankees, eighty eight.
Speaker 2 (01:37:18):
With the Dodgers Oral Herscheizer one picture.
Speaker 1 (01:37:21):
We can go back to the Braves. But I mean
you want to Glad mad Yeah, but that's how good
this guy is. No, he he might be one of
the best pictures I've ever seen in my life. Like
he just the stuff he throws, and he likes to
work fast. He's not a guy up there playing around.
He's not up there be he's hey, get your get
your butt back in the box, let's go.
Speaker 2 (01:37:42):
You know why I love him. He goes high in
the zone. He throws those high fastballs that you they
were eye level and there's no way you're going to
catch a hundred miles.
Speaker 1 (01:37:51):
And why do guys swing at that? It's because but
it's eye level, that's out of the Are you swinging
at that at one eight or nine?
Speaker 2 (01:38:00):
I all understand pictures. They always try to go low, low, low,
low low. You know you pitch low, you pitch low.
School's like, no, no, no, we're going high. I just
don't man high and you're not going to hit that.
Speaker 1 (01:38:13):
Detroit Dodgers World Series guys, Well believe.
Speaker 2 (01:38:18):
Before we go anywhere where the Dodgers, remember they were
owing six against the Brewers had to head this year.
Speaker 1 (01:38:23):
Listen, oh season, postseason and regular season does not mean anything.
I'm putting. Listen, I'm inking give me a pin. I'm
right a Dodger in the World Series, guys. I just
don't think nobody out there this time of year, this
is when it matters. The regular season don't matter. It
matters right now they've done it, they're coming off of it,
like Mookie knows his role now that everybody fits it.
Show Hey struck out four times yesterday, but he had nine,
(01:38:43):
but he had nine strikeouts himself.
Speaker 2 (01:38:44):
Like I mean, by the way, uh, this is adding
insult to injury. The Colts won up thirty eight to three.
Speaker 1 (01:38:51):
Did they go for two? And they went for two?
I've been going for too old and they and they, uh,
they had a two day kicker.
Speaker 11 (01:38:56):
Is there kicker hurt?
Speaker 1 (01:38:57):
Yeah, they have.
Speaker 2 (01:38:57):
They've been going to all day today. Where's their kicker?
Speaker 1 (01:39:00):
I think he actually got hurt.
Speaker 2 (01:39:01):
So straighter is their kicker, and he had a couple
extra points when you're right, their last four uh touchdowns,
they've gone for two.
Speaker 3 (01:39:09):
He got hurt by one of the Raiders players trying
to block a field goal.
Speaker 2 (01:39:12):
Okay, so they have no kicker right now, so they
have to go for two. But anyway, forty to three,
forty to three, I want to hear the postgame comments
from Pete Carroll and this one.
Speaker 1 (01:39:22):
Last drive six touchdowns on. I know Steve's about to
go into break, but aren't you forgetting something. Yes, this
is do you know what time it is? No huddle hour.
Speaker 2 (01:39:33):
I almost forgot because again, we haven't had a lot
to talk about as far as any good matchups today.
Speaker 1 (01:39:38):
Let's be on good games right now.
Speaker 2 (01:39:42):
No huddle hour, no excitement, huddle all right, We'll try
to get them up some excitement in these games.
Speaker 1 (01:39:48):
Hopefully we'll do so. By the way, I see wowick
a bone Nix's numbers.
Speaker 2 (01:39:53):
Is pick A coming in at quarterback?
Speaker 1 (01:39:56):
Oh my, oh wow? Okay, wait why not though? Why not?
Forty to three? Have a seat, gino, have a seat?
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:40:05):
This is Enzo Radio. How do the gun goes?
Speaker 1 (01:40:09):
Jones sweeping left, Taylor cuts back at the fire into.
Speaker 11 (01:40:11):
The end zone.
Speaker 1 (01:40:12):
He dances in again.
Speaker 9 (01:40:14):
Three of them today, Three touchdowns for Jonathan Taylor, for
Kimfetty flies. The horn sounds, and Lucas Loyle Stadium is
full of jubilation.
Speaker 15 (01:40:27):
The Colts now lead thirty eight to three. Three touchdowns
today for Jonathan Taylor. That's the Colts Radio network. It
has been blowout city in Indianapolis today. Colts lead the
Raiders forty to three. We are just at the start
of the fourth quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:40:44):
By the way, They just did a shot of Chip Kelly,
the beleaguered Raiders offensive coordinator, in the press box, and
he was hiding his face. No, not making it up.
He was hiding his face as well he should, as
the Raiders are quickly becoming an embarrassment right now. And uh,
where's Tom Brady when you need him? Tom Brady's got
(01:41:06):
to suit up, folks, He's got to suit up.
Speaker 1 (01:41:09):
Hey boy, I want to throw this because you and
I have come in some of these really interesting conversations
about guys like that. I've always thought Chip Kelly was
an overrated coach back to Philly, back to Oregon, Like,
I hate him. I always thought he was an overrated coach.
Speaker 13 (01:41:23):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:41:24):
Well, don't get me started about his UCLA because that
was an embarrassment.
Speaker 3 (01:41:28):
I don't care about the xs and the o's from him.
I just hate him as a person he is.
Speaker 1 (01:41:34):
I feel that way about certain coaches. Yeah, I just
think they're bad people. Yeah, I'm with the Eagles.
Speaker 3 (01:41:40):
Was so bad? Started HoTT you want to You said
the Raiders are becoming an embarrassment. I think they've been
there for a while.
Speaker 2 (01:41:47):
Well they have been there for a while, but uh,
you know when they attached it like this is very
hard for me obviously with my connection with the Raider organization.
Speaker 1 (01:41:57):
And Mark Davis.
Speaker 2 (01:41:59):
Uh. Again, I'm one of the few people that you know,
I can actually like, I actually have his phone numbers.
Should we call Mark right now?
Speaker 1 (01:42:06):
Get him up, see what I want to see.
Speaker 5 (01:42:09):
By the way, I just from a walk before he
moved along from Ship Kelly. But even at Oregon, I
thought he was getting by with with Mike Bolotti's guys.
Speaker 2 (01:42:18):
Well, but he put in that high speed offense that
he also, by the way, had great success with Philadelphia
about a year and a half and then the wheels
fell off, and then of course he went to the
forty nine ers for that two and fourteen season, and
then he tricked UCLA into hiring him and literally just
mailed it in for six years.
Speaker 1 (01:42:37):
He traded mailed it in.
Speaker 3 (01:42:39):
He traded the best running back in franchise history for
a linebacker I know, for no reason.
Speaker 2 (01:42:44):
So I mean, yeah, Tip Kelly's to fraud. And so
I don't know what Pete Carroll's answer is going to be.
But this straight for a guy like that, for a
guy like Pete Carroll. Again, when you're when you were
one of those marginal Hall of Fame candidates as a coach,
marginal like a Pete Carroll and then you tag your
run in Seattle with this, Oh yeah, I mean if
(01:43:06):
they go four and thirteen this year my ex bo
doing the commercial and have to start all over at quarterback?
Speaker 1 (01:43:14):
Could you see them when the studio? Could you if
Monty was kid, here's jumping? Could you four and thirteen,
two and fifteen? Seriously? Yeah? Do you think and have
a conversation about firing Pete Carroll getting a younger coaching
because my question you're doing a commercial break was how
much power? Because I don't know. I want to know
if somebody else how much power does Tom break? Because
(01:43:36):
we keep putting Tom Brady's name in it is does
he have that kind of power or is it? Is
it gonna be Davis.
Speaker 3 (01:43:41):
I don't think he does, simply because there was such
a big deal in the offseason when they were trying
to hire Ben Johnson as their head coach, and you
kept hearing about Tom Brady's influence and all that stuff,
and Ben Johnson took the Bears job almost as soon
as he possibly could. I don't think Brady had any sway,
and I don't think the NFL wants Brady to have
that much sway because it'll it's a whole quagmire for him.
Speaker 2 (01:44:01):
They just showed Chip Kelly again. He's still hiding his face.
And by the way, guys, we shouldn't really be surprised
at what we're seeing here.
Speaker 1 (01:44:09):
So we had six.
Speaker 2 (01:44:10):
Games, twelve teams. Nine of the twelve teams that kicked
off and by the way, huge sack right there by
the Colts. Nine of the twelve teams playing in these
morning morning games had a losing record. We've only had
four weeks, so I mean the fact that we have
nine of the teams with losing records, and that doesn't
(01:44:32):
include a two and two.
Speaker 1 (01:44:33):
Bronco teat sou In.
Speaker 2 (01:44:36):
These games are living down to expectations in every way imaginable.
And we're only hoping the Giants trying to get back
into this game against the Saints right now in Carolina.
It's hard to come back if you're the Panthers against
the Dolphins when you have almost no offense, not at all.
Speaker 1 (01:44:54):
No offense either. But I'm not even gonna sit here
like pomp pomp for my Dolphins and I'm pretty heated
watching seventeen to nothing, spreading the ball around, opening up
the offense, and it's almost like McDaniel said, Okay, I
can get out of this week without the firing talk.
Let me call off the dogs, which I hate a change.
Should be getting twenty carries, as I know Monzi would
(01:45:15):
love to see him getting twenty carries a Sunday, But
I mean, Dolphin fans me give the kids. I don't.
I'm trying to figure out why we're not just force
feeding young running backs. They're on rookie young contracts.
Speaker 2 (01:45:27):
They remember that dynamic Dolphins offense we saw when the
year seventy years, seventy points, two.
Speaker 1 (01:45:33):
Years in a row, they led the NFL offense.
Speaker 2 (01:45:35):
And basically they're trying to sit on this lead and
have been since they got off to the seventeen.
Speaker 1 (01:45:40):
I don't like that, man. I would rather be forty
to three. Keep listen, in football, kick them while they're down.
I don't believe that in any other form of life,
but in football.
Speaker 2 (01:45:49):
If you can't stop me, guess what I'm gonna keep
trying to do. Stief We I'll tell you is doing that.
Texans forty four to ten.
Speaker 1 (01:45:55):
There you go, right, Why would you call the dogs
off forty four to ten? Why I'm going to beat you?
Take your head? All right?
Speaker 2 (01:46:03):
You want to give out everything. I don't want to
give her everything. We're in the Fox Sports radio studios.
Let's find out what is trending right now. I haven't
even asked Wance with your five fantasies there. I don't
know if I said forty four to ten and she
was just whipping.
Speaker 1 (01:46:18):
Her head, that's not what it was.
Speaker 11 (01:46:20):
You guys and Jackson Dart just through the dumbest intersex.
Speaker 2 (01:46:23):
Yeah, oh no, no, no, you don't believe what just happened.
Speaker 1 (01:46:28):
Down forty to three.
Speaker 2 (01:46:30):
The Raiders just kicked a field goal to make it
forty to six.
Speaker 11 (01:46:33):
Well that's good, so you're upset. Pick, they're making a comeback.
Speaker 2 (01:46:37):
They just kicked a four field goal. Four boys and
they and they went to peek here on the sideline.
He gave it the fists more touchdowns, alright, forty to
six instead of forty peek?
Speaker 5 (01:46:48):
Care?
Speaker 1 (01:46:49):
Really are you joking? Did he really did?
Speaker 4 (01:46:51):
Pink?
Speaker 1 (01:46:51):
Care really did like a fist like a yeah, tiger
would like a tiger would a bit like that. Nineteen
nineteen foot on seventeen to take a one.
Speaker 2 (01:47:00):
Not quite that exaggerated, but definitely he was happy to
see another three points on the board.
Speaker 10 (01:47:05):
So I'm down to four fantasy leagues because Bo beat
me last week in guillotine.
Speaker 1 (01:47:10):
So I was chopped.
Speaker 11 (01:47:11):
No, it's fine. Let's things to worry about.
Speaker 2 (01:47:13):
I don't worry about I feel bad about that Bo
at all.
Speaker 1 (01:47:16):
No, I didn't think so, No, I.
Speaker 3 (01:47:18):
Haven't checked my guteine roster. One time.
Speaker 11 (01:47:20):
He didn't even look and he won by like two points.
It's very mud But how do I feel right now? Conflicted?
Speaker 10 (01:47:25):
Because I have Jonathan Taylor in one league and he
has three touchdowns on the ground. I'm also playing against
Jonathan Taylor. Shay has him and he keeps yelling and
it is happy.
Speaker 1 (01:47:36):
I can hear him down on the ball.
Speaker 11 (01:47:37):
Yeah, because he's undefeated. He wants to be undefeated and
beat me.
Speaker 1 (01:47:41):
Oh yeah, so he's sic sports.
Speaker 10 (01:47:47):
I'm conflicted, very competitive, yes, but the Colts are crushing
the Raiders forty to six.
Speaker 11 (01:47:52):
As you just mentioned, is the score plenty of time.
Speaker 10 (01:47:55):
Early in the fourth quarter, Jackson Dark and the Giants
their last couple of plays fumble fumble, fumble returned for
a touchdown and now an interception. So yeah, the Saints
are on top of the Giants twenty six to fourteen.
Early in the fourth quarter. Cowboys all over the Jets
all over, thirty to six is a score. Dak Prescott
(01:48:16):
hasn for two hundred and seven yards and three touchdowns
the Broncos in the end zone.
Speaker 11 (01:48:21):
Did I see that?
Speaker 1 (01:48:22):
Yes?
Speaker 11 (01:48:22):
JK.
Speaker 2 (01:48:23):
Dobbins just score. We've got a game.
Speaker 10 (01:48:25):
We have a game Broncos in the end zone right
now pending the extra point nine to seventeen against the
Eagles with Philadelphia up plenty of game as you just mentioned,
they just got going in the fourth quarter. Dolphins over
the Panthers seventeen thirteen Early in the fourth Panthers currently
have the ball on their side of the field and
the Texans just all over the Ravens.
Speaker 11 (01:48:44):
Forty four to ten. C. J.
Speaker 10 (01:48:46):
Stroud has wow twenty three of twenty seven, two hundred
and forty four yards and four touchdowns. Forty four to
ten is a score early in the fourth quarter today
in the NFL, when it came to the London game,
the Vikings defeated the Browns twenty one's seventeen Vikings improved
to three and two. Also, Game two of the WNBA
Finals is going on right now. Vegas leads the series
(01:49:09):
one zero, but right now the Aces are losing to
the Mercury thirty one to twenty four.
Speaker 11 (01:49:14):
Still early in the second quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
Back to you guys, all right, mindsia, I'm keeping my
eye right now in the Carolina Panthers, a big run.
This guy has how many yards does this guy have rushing?
Speaker 11 (01:49:28):
He's going to one hundred and thirty three yards thirty.
Speaker 1 (01:49:31):
Three at least. I mean, well that was before that one.
Speaker 11 (01:49:34):
What's seventy six?
Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
One hundred and seventy six yards rushing against the Dolphins.
And so the Panthers down seventeen thirteen, eight and a
half Venueley go on the fourth quarter down to the
Miami thirty two yard line. Once again, This is End
Zone Radio Steve Hartman VJ. Husky with you and the Fox.
Speaker 1 (01:49:54):
Yes.

Thief. Yes, I'm all for swag and style.
Speaker 2 (01:50:19):
You know that.
Speaker 1 (01:50:20):
I'm all for swag, Yes, but I think Jackson Dart
before you can wear a chain like that. Bruh, Go, yeah,
you know what I mean. You ain't justin Jefferson yet, homie, Like,
I get it, I do, I get it, But bruh,
you ain't done that yet to be able to this.
And the chain is fresh, and you guys know I
love a good chain. But you're talking about Jackson Dart. Yeah,
(01:50:42):
this his record is a starting quarterback. Oh, here you go.
Speaker 2 (01:50:45):
That's a one thousand winning percent here one and oh
one and oh it looks like it could be one
and one coming up here right now.
Speaker 1 (01:50:54):
He's lucky to leave. He's lucky to leaves though not
playing off so much. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:50:58):
What's worse for the Raiders beating down thirty four points
or Anthony Richardson getting into the game, which, wowbody.
Speaker 1 (01:51:06):
Richardson in the game. They did well.
Speaker 2 (01:51:07):
They want to say, Daniel J.
Speaker 1 (01:51:09):
Kenny before picket Yeah, oh wow, wow? Is he in
is he in? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:51:16):
Wow, okay, all right, it is Gino Smith today. Nineteen
to thirty, one hundred and seventy two yards, no touchdowns,
two picks. Another atrocious day. By the way, Ashton genty
average almost five yards at carry, sixty seven yards on
the ground, forty two yards receptions over one hundred yards
line yards from scrimmage.
Speaker 1 (01:51:35):
So there you go. Enough of that.
Speaker 2 (01:51:37):
We have three games that are absolute blowouts. Colts over
the Raiders, Cowboys over the Jets, and Texans over the Ravens.
We got three games that are competitive, and right now
the Panthers have a first and ten at the Miami
thirteen yard line.
Speaker 1 (01:51:53):
Should be offensive passing affairs right here, they're going to
call defensive holder. But that's a bad call on Jack
Jones because the the quarter the receiver is openly pushing
him away and pushing them off. Jack's grabbing him to
get his arm off.
Speaker 2 (01:52:07):
Pushing the receivers always have the advantage, Well.
Speaker 1 (01:52:10):
Not when you create it almost like that.
Speaker 2 (01:52:12):
It's like you're baiting them by it's pushing them and
then he guy grabs and they're going to call.
Speaker 1 (01:52:16):
It so too. Defensive holding should not be an automatic
first down if you want to give it the five yards, fine,
but to say five yards automatic first down, the competition
committee has to really look at that.
Speaker 2 (01:52:27):
That's just okay. See, I agree with you on this one.
For first of all, again, the fifty yard pass interference
penalty is outrageous, always has been. It's fifteen yards in
the college game. It should be the same in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (01:52:39):
And I agree with you.
Speaker 2 (01:52:40):
Why is a five yard penalty right an automatic first stop?
Speaker 1 (01:52:44):
Especially when you get on third and thirteen, second and
fourteen five? Okay, five yards fine, but automatic first down?
Speaker 2 (01:52:52):
What is this?
Speaker 1 (01:52:52):
But he's so lopside?
Speaker 2 (01:52:54):
Well, why not eliminate what's the difference defense of holding
his pass interference?
Speaker 1 (01:53:00):
Actually it is lemonade.
Speaker 2 (01:53:01):
Just create eight a penalty, one penalty fifteen yard, forget
a legal contact done, don't forget that hands to the
face and all this kind. You got way too many penalties.
Bryce Elly is now going into the end zone. He's
coming up about a half a yard short. So it's
going to be a third and goal for the Panthers
at the half yard line, trailing the Dolphins. They were
(01:53:24):
down seventeen to nothing in this game, and they are
trying to come back and take the lead here. Meanwhile,
the Eagles in the Broncos. So the Broncos trying to
get something going and they've been doing it with a
running game. They've been putting a lot of pressure on
Jalen Hurts. He has been how many times has he been.
Speaker 1 (01:53:41):
Sacked in this game? Well, defense is strong, think about it.
Speaker 2 (01:53:44):
He has been sacked four times. He just got sacked again.
So the Eagles are punting back to the Broncos twelve
minutes to go in the fourth quarter, and the Broncos
are about to get the ball back down a touchdown
in this game, and they had a terrific punt return
for negative yards. Good coverage there by the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (01:54:04):
So there we go.
Speaker 2 (01:54:05):
Eagles up seventeen to ten, but the Broncos trying to
come back, and the touchdown for the Panthers and a
seventeen nothing lead for the Dolphins has completely evaporated. We'll
have much more on that and everything else as we
get ready for this stretch run in this no huddle hour.
And oh that's right, an update on our perfect picks.
Speaker 1 (01:54:29):
This is end Zone Radio snapped the dark inside hand off,
the scatterboo.
Speaker 2 (01:54:33):
Balls loose says, chick it up, store down thirty forty,
big field forty thirty.
Speaker 1 (01:54:41):
They're not gonna catch him, say you lay it up
five Jordan having touchdown. Saints Woo.
Speaker 2 (01:54:51):
That's WWL Saints Radio Network. That's the difference in that
game so far. Saints with the lead twenty six to
fourteen and the ball five minut is to go in
the fourth quarter.
Speaker 1 (01:55:01):
Meanwhile, during that break, we had VJ.
Speaker 2 (01:55:05):
Husky jump out of his seat as the Dolphins have
regained the lead twenty four to twenty. What was that
a big bomb play by.
Speaker 1 (01:55:13):
Two Jaalen Waddle? Where's this been?
Speaker 8 (01:55:15):
Man like that?
Speaker 1 (01:55:16):
And the money was right away?
Speaker 2 (01:55:18):
No money right there while it's behind the Panthers d
and the Dolphins retake the lead by a score of
twenty four to twenty. All right, in the midst of
all this, it is that time profitable picks over under
a half a flea grant, gentlemen, are your perfect picks.
Speaker 5 (01:55:38):
Hello guys, and welcome back to the perfect Picks. As
you could caught up, it was a split once again
last week. That's what we get when we only have
two picks a week. But yes, yes, so the Dolphin,
the Jets. The Jets had the more, had more.
Speaker 2 (01:55:52):
Let me let me make sure I do this office
had more takeaway that the ideas the Dolphins won the takeaway.
Speaker 5 (01:55:57):
He won the turnover differentially. Yes, that's what thinking of.
It's a point of VJ. Point to Steve on Travis
Hunter who had three receptions.
Speaker 2 (01:56:06):
It was three and a half, right, and you scoffed
at that one, BJ, like that's been insult It wasn't it?
Speaker 4 (01:56:12):
So all man like.
Speaker 1 (01:56:14):
The ball, it's not agree with VJ. Agree with you
and like what are you doing it? Three guys?
Speaker 2 (01:56:21):
Right now, the Broncos are going for two, and the
Broncos have just taken the lead eighteen to seventeen over
the Eagles. So seven and a half minutes ago. By
the way, this was one of my upset specials.
Speaker 1 (01:56:33):
This is what happens.
Speaker 2 (01:56:34):
The Broncos have taken the lead eighteen seventeen over the Eagles.
All right, continue on for it anyway.
Speaker 5 (01:56:39):
So we've got a few picks tonight, and I'm going
to start with the Detroit theme tonight because we got
the Lions in action in the late slate. And I'm
also going to give you a baseball pick. I know
we don't usually do a ton of baseball on the
perfect picks, but it seems like it's going on right now.
So let's start on the football side. Jared Goss having
himself a season so far. As always, I'm going to
set this line and maybe it's a little bit low.
(01:57:01):
So if you agree, I've got to back up over
under on Jied Golf touchdowns two and a half?
Speaker 1 (01:57:07):
Do you want to go first or second? Jared Golf
touchdowns to that two and a half? Two and a half?
You go, I'll go second, you go.
Speaker 2 (01:57:17):
All right, I know you're gonna take the opposite.
Speaker 1 (01:57:20):
I'm gonna go.
Speaker 2 (01:57:22):
Against that Bengals defense man.
Speaker 1 (01:57:24):
That should be a field day, right should.
Speaker 2 (01:57:26):
But somehow, I somehow I think the Lions are gonna
run the ball down the Bengals throat. I'm gonna go under. Wow,
under two and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:57:36):
Yeah, you're gonna have to. You're gonna have to give
us a third or two because I'm just not gonna
go old as he went under, because I would say,
I would say under all song.
Speaker 5 (01:57:44):
Okay, okay, right now one, So let's hear the here's
the backup Romandra Stevenson for we're going to Patriots bills. Okay, Ramanda,
Stevenson's not exactly been the player you would hope for.
It's been low on the rushing yard. So I'm going
to set this line a little low here too, as
a bit of a gimmey. But he might not even
be the top back now Fromandra Stevenson for the Patriots.
Thirty five and a half rushing yards over under. Wow,
(01:58:13):
he is only kid over thirty five I think in one.
Speaker 1 (01:58:15):
Game, in one game exactly, you know what. But Buffalo
they seem to do this. Man, they seem to just
play down to the competition. And they still have some
guys out when the d line in and the linebacker core.
All right, fine, I'll you know, let's have so fun.
I'll go over.
Speaker 2 (01:58:33):
Well, the over is easy played. The hard plays to
go under. And I am so confident right now because
I'm on such a role. I will bite, yes, and
I'll go under. All right, give us that base, the
baseball one. So Tarik's scoopl's on the bump for the
Detroit Tigers. My Detroit Tigers, the sport that kills me
every time. After you to Tarik instead of Trek, I
(01:58:56):
don't care. He just it's a scoopl It just he wins.
So we're gonna do our favorite bet here in the
control booth. We love earned runs runs first inning bets.
So first inning runs for the Mariners over under a half.
So I'm saying, in the first inning, will the Mariners
score a run off to Rick scoobl.
Speaker 1 (01:59:13):
No, No, that's not no. Why would anybody go?
Speaker 2 (01:59:17):
Oh, why who's picking that Schooble? All right, they're not
going to score and I may not score at all. Okay,
well I try another one, try another one. Okay, let
me just scramble around here for a second. The Jackgars
have been on a fire with some takeaways here. So
(01:59:39):
tonight against the Kansas City Chiefs, Yes or no, will
they have a Will they have a interception or a
fumble recovery?
Speaker 1 (01:59:46):
On the Chiefs because Pat Mahomes takes care of the ball.
He's never been a careless guy with the ball. They're
a home Okay, fine, I'll have some fun with it again.
What's the what's the They just have a takeaway tonight?
Speaker 3 (02:00:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:00:01):
I think we'll just set that up. Takeaways Jaguars half, Yes,
Jaguars have a takeaway tonight. Yes, how is that.
Speaker 2 (02:00:08):
I mean, she's gonna play clean? Well me, you said
it one and a half, I'll set it. I mean, yeah, no, yeah,
you don't get a half. It's gotta be.
Speaker 1 (02:00:17):
One and a half. I'm taking under it.
Speaker 2 (02:00:19):
But if you're gonna take under, then i'll take over.
Speaker 1 (02:00:21):
There we are, right, Okay, okay, So one and a half.
Speaker 4 (02:00:25):
Under.
Speaker 2 (02:00:26):
She shall have at least two turnovers in this game
on the road against the Jaguars. All right, right, So
we now have three games that are in play. Although
the Saints are about to put away the Giants with
the ball twenty six fourteen lead over the Giants four
h six to go, thele Broncos have come all the
way back to take an eighteen seventeen lead, and the
(02:00:49):
Panthers right now after the Dolphins scored, are trying to
get it back as it is twenty four to twenty
Dolphins over the Panthers four and a half minutes to
go in that game. But how about these Broncos coming
back in this game? They were down seventeen to three,
could get no offense going, and all of a sudden
they got their running game on track. We got six
(02:01:10):
minutes ago the Eagles have the ball, the exciting finishes,
and we'll have every moment for you here on end
Zone Radio down the stretch week, Come on these morning
games end Zone Radio here in the Fox Sports Radio studios.
All right, the Colts beat the Raiders forty to six,
Texans blow out the Ravens forty four to ten. Those
(02:01:31):
games are in the books, and of course we're about
to get the Cowboys up thirty seven to fourteen against
the Jets. Other games, we got a couple of games
in particular that are very much in doubt. Right now,
the Denver Broncos are leading the Eagles eighteen to seventeen.
The Eagles blew a seventeen to three lead in this game.
There's two thirty nine to go, and the Broncos have
(02:01:54):
the ball. In fact, they have the ball right now
at the forty two yard line of the Eagles. They
got hall for a intentional grounding. Bow Knicks went brain dead.
Instead of just taking the sack, he was double pumping
and then threw the ball to no One and rightfully
got called for intentional grounding. So now the Broncos are
(02:02:16):
running the ball leading eighteen to seventeen. Panthers and Dolphins
we got to the two minute warning. So now to
a trailing in this game. And this running back that
was with the Cowboys, why do I have no recall
this thousand yard runs? Yet a thousand yards for the Cowboys.
(02:02:39):
Last year they released him. He signed a one year
deal with the Panthers. He has two hundred and one
yards rushing in this game against the Dolphins. There seems
to be a split here, and I think I can
explain it very easily. Myself, Bow and Monsey all play
fantasy football, right, and I think we know Rico Daudle
from fantasy.
Speaker 1 (02:02:57):
Yeah, well apparently so because fantasy too, But I've ever
seen nobody drafting you. I am in a deep league
where people had to dig deep, all right.
Speaker 2 (02:03:05):
The Panthers right now, defense coming up with a knockdown there,
all right, So we keep our eye on that game.
And as far as the Giants and the Saints. The
Giants now still alive. There's a minute to go and
they're down twelve, but they have a second and ten
at the New Orleans eighteen yard line.
Speaker 1 (02:03:23):
Looking at some of the numbers in that game, by
the way.
Speaker 2 (02:03:26):
Jackson Dart twenty five of thirty seven two hundred two yards,
not many yards, and just two touchdowns for two interceptions.
Speaker 1 (02:03:35):
I actually have thirty seven pass attempts.
Speaker 2 (02:03:37):
Yeah, well, because their running game, scatterbooy is not doing enough.
Jackson Dart also has fifty five yards rushing, by the way,
in this game, and two had just missed a wide
open wattle.
Speaker 1 (02:03:49):
Just a night on a skinny pole, a short medium
skinny poles. And why because look he's on an off
his back foot. See his feet, I'm a when it
comes to quarterback, that's all you got to do. Watch
their feet. Their Feet's how everything quarterback is from the
ground up. And he is wide open if he catches,
that's he's splitting those safeties with his speed.
Speaker 2 (02:04:09):
He's got room to run. There's no he's splitting those
safeties with his speed.
Speaker 1 (02:04:12):
Yeah, he has room to run.
Speaker 2 (02:04:14):
Okay, So, by the way, you've done a one eighty
on the fate of your coach with the Dolphins right now,
you're you're conceding the fact that if they actually end
up losing this game. And right there, big sack for
the Panthers. So we got a fourth down coming up
for the Dolphins right now, with a minute thirty.
Speaker 1 (02:04:34):
Four to go, you punk because you've got three timeouts.
Speaker 2 (02:04:37):
Yeah, so they're gonna punt. The Dolphins had three timeouts.
The clock is running though, so apparently they're not gonna
use one of their timeouts.
Speaker 1 (02:04:44):
Now you can't. You need all three of them to
get that. You know, you can't run it down.
Speaker 2 (02:04:48):
So minute twenty nineteen, the clock is running down, and
so are the Dolphins. Hopes here by the way, wow,
I mean this would be a disastrous loss. But you
would say if the Dolphins said enough's enough time to
make it change, you're okay.
Speaker 1 (02:05:01):
With that because I am a person who I'm okay
to change my mind when I receive new information. Okay, okay,
So as time goes on, new information is gonna be released.
If you go into this game up seventeen to nothing
and then you call the dogs off and start running
this mediocre middle school offense and then when you need
(02:05:21):
a drive, bam bam bam down in field. This ain't
on Tools got three touchdown passes a day, almost three
hundred yards. He's twenty something of thirty six like this
ain't on him. Tools played one bad game this year, guy,
the Coals game. The Eagles just called for a late hit. Wow,
I was waiting for this call.
Speaker 2 (02:05:38):
So on a short pass play that came up short
of a first down for the Broncos, Eagles came in
with a late hit that was completely unnecessary. Are they
gonna pick up the flag? No personal foul against the Eagles,
unnecessary roughness. This was just completely brain dead and unnecessary
(02:06:05):
by the egos. Look at the late hit on this
So he is short of the first down.
Speaker 1 (02:06:09):
He's down on the ground. Boom, oh no, no, no,
that's ticky tack. He's trying to lean.
Speaker 2 (02:06:15):
That guy's already committed, and he comes in with the
to the head. They're gonna call it every time, but
that those are the new rules now.
Speaker 1 (02:06:23):
But even if those are the new rules, not even
on that play, that play right there, that's ticky tacking.
You're down already committed. He's already committed though, and this
guy is trying to pull away as like his leg
is not in the ground.
Speaker 2 (02:06:35):
He came to the play arm to the helmet.
Speaker 1 (02:06:39):
It was soft. That wasn't a hard like vicious forum
when I knew.
Speaker 2 (02:06:42):
They were gonna call it because insistently, I understand, I
understand the but he comes in with the forearm to
the helmet of a ground runner on the ground. They're
gonna call that one hundred percent of the time. So
that gives the Broncos the first down, and they are
now all the way down to the eagle fourteen yard
(02:07:03):
line with two twenty one to go in the fourth
quarter leading eighteen to two.
Speaker 1 (02:07:07):
Seven. Back to McDaniel, if it's my thing is, if
they were to fire him at this point, then I
would say okay, because up seventeen to nothing, and then
when you needed a drive to score take the lead back,
you were able to call the right like your play
calling change. And we watched two teams today kick the
crap out of two teams that were injured and lesser
(02:07:30):
than them. You don't let teams hang around when you
need to put teams away. It's like in boxing, right
once you get to the eighth round, when you're ready
to knock that guy out, knock his ass out. Stop
playing around you. You don't need to. The score cards
are in your favor. You've won seven of the eight rounds.
He's wobbling. Put him out of his misery and knock
him out immediately so we can all go to the
(02:07:51):
after party. At the club. That's how I view football.
When it's time to put teams away, you put teams away.
Now who I would fire? Definitely and Weaver. They have
the worst scoring defense in football. And this is the
defense that finished seventh in the league. What's the what happened?
What's the difference? What you lost? Jalen Ram that's one guy,
one guy who you didn't even have it till Thanksgiving
(02:08:12):
last year because he got hurt in trading kit with
a meniscus injury. So yes, I have done a one eighty.
If they fire either one of those guys tonight or
tomorrow morning, I would just say, okay, well we just
need to reset things on the defensive side of the ball.
Are we resetting these? Somebody called John Gruden and see
if he gets a second chance, you know, second chance
of life.
Speaker 2 (02:08:29):
All right, you're Saints Owen seventeen ended. The Saints have
beaten the Giants twenty six to fourteen. We're saying, how
can the Saints be favored over anyone? They not only won,
they covered easily twenty six to fourteen. So Jackson Dart
now is a five hundred quarterback. But the Saints run
of Owen seventeen has ended. The Saints have won their
first game of the year.
Speaker 1 (02:08:50):
Is the season for the Dolphins? How about this?
Speaker 2 (02:08:52):
The Broncos right now, second and nine at the Eagles
thirteen yard line, and the Bronco they just posted a
stat all time the Broncos trailing by fourteen or more
points on the road in the fourth quarter are one
and one hundred and twelve.
Speaker 1 (02:09:11):
Guys.
Speaker 2 (02:09:12):
They were losing by fourteen going to the fourth quarter,
and theyre have a chance to win this game in Philly, Carolina.
I think just won this game on defensive passinger fear.
Speaker 1 (02:09:20):
I no, I'm not watching it right now. Jack Jones,
Andy Grasam. And it is. And this is why I said,
and I said this two weeks ago, I'd fire Anthony Weaver.
Someone's gotta go. One in four you have a seven
percent chance. I just looked up the stat. One in
four you have a seven percent chance since nineteen ninety
to make it to the playoffs. Something's gotta change. There's
no more Tyreek noise. Tyreek showed up and would join
(02:09:43):
everybody in film study. It was a feel good thing.
You jump up seventeen to nothing. I'm hot right now.
You jump up seventeen to nothing, and you call off
the dogs, and this is what happens now. Shout out
to my man b Y. Shout out to b Y
for sticking in there with this squad and make us
some throws. But some by heads have got a roll.
(02:10:03):
Steven Ross can't just keep treating his team as his
shiny little toy of his billionaire to show off to
his friends when they fly in the town from other countries.
This is serious business. This is men's livelihood. This is
how they feed their family and their children. Somebody's gotta
go in Miami tonight, by tomorrow morning.
Speaker 2 (02:10:23):
Rushing yards in this game, Carolina two hundred and forty
two Miami nineteen.
Speaker 1 (02:10:28):
And who's that the defensive court to the defense right.
Speaker 2 (02:10:30):
Two hundred and forty two yards rushing for Carolina ninety
back eaves everybody, Miami.
Speaker 1 (02:10:36):
Back off of Tula, please all right.
Speaker 2 (02:10:38):
So the Panthers with the ball and the lead twenty
seven to twenty four, and that is the game is
officially over. So the Panthers have defeated the Dolphins, who
fall to one and four on the season. By the way,
how's that AFC East Look Jets are zero to five,
Dolphins are one and four. You got the Patriots. And
that's why I picked Buffalo to be the one seed
(02:10:59):
in the A see because they play and by far.
Speaker 1 (02:11:02):
The worst division right now.
Speaker 2 (02:11:04):
All right, so the Broncos have a third and eight
at the Philadelphia twelve yard line. We just hit the
two minute warning. Obviously a touchdown. Well, if they go
for the kick, it would still be an eight point game,
still a one score game. Well, if the Broncos were
to score a touchdown here and again third and eight,
(02:11:25):
that they may have to settle for a field goal,
which at least give them a four point lead over
the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (02:11:31):
Would you go for two?
Speaker 4 (02:11:32):
No?
Speaker 1 (02:11:33):
Because what is it?
Speaker 2 (02:11:33):
Because if if you get to two, okay, so you have.
If you have, if you score the touchdown, you're up seven.
If you go for two, you go up nine. Now
the game's over because it's a two score game. If
you go for the one, it's an eight point game,
and it's a one score game. If you miss, it's
still a seven point game. What if the Eagles shown
(02:11:53):
you that they can move the ball and score.
Speaker 1 (02:11:56):
That's why I just take that. I take. If I'm
the Broncos, I take the field goal. Well, the big
big a touchdown, take the field goal. What have the
Eagles shown you?
Speaker 2 (02:12:03):
Well, nothing, because the Eagles offensive line, sa kuon Barkley.
Today's six scarries thirty yards and listen, I get and
Bo makes great points. But my thing is okay, forty
five yards rushing, thank you.
Speaker 1 (02:12:15):
The offensive line is hurt. Fine, but that doesn't mean
if that's the case, don't play and five times you
still have to give him the ball. You still have
to give the horse the ball. I'm that guy. Yes,
offensive line banged up? Does that mean because can make
a play, can break up play. He's that type of player.
(02:12:37):
He's got to he's got he's got to touch that
reception off. But to not give him the football, it's
as nine football strategy to me. You know, maybe it's
just my wild's crazy.
Speaker 2 (02:12:49):
I mean, if you're not arguing with Bo, he's already
said it's time to make a change at coach. He's
not a big Siriani fan, never has been. All right,
bow next scrambler right now he's gonna go down. So
it looks like the Bronco we'll have to settle for
the field goal. However, it's a big kick. Because it
would give them a four point lead and forced the
Eagles to have to get a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (02:13:09):
The Eagles have zero timeouts. Eagle's going to block it
returning for a touchdown. Where we've seen that before.
Speaker 2 (02:13:14):
We have the Rams are really having a hard time
with block kicks this year. There's been humble, liable talk
about break finishing games and just having a hard time finishing.
So the clock is ticking. We're going to be down
to about one fourteen here when the Broncos will line
up for a field goal. Again, it's one eighteen four second,
(02:13:37):
three seconds and there's the timeout. So the Broncos lose,
use their final timeout one fourteen to go and they
will line up for a field goal to extend their lead,
which is currently eighteen seventeen. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers and Seahawks
are underway and Tampa is going to get a field
goal to start the game. So eight minutes to go
(02:13:57):
in the first quarter and Tampa takes an early three
I think lead on the road against the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (02:14:02):
See really quick, can I be out on McDaniel, would
still be in on Toua. Of course, you can do
whatever you want today. Does that make sense to you.
Speaker 2 (02:14:10):
Well, of course it makes sense, right, yeah. I mean
you can't blame this You can't blame this stuff on
the court. I just explained the same thing with Jackson
Dart and the Giants. You could be out on Dable,
but in on Dart. I agree with you there.
Speaker 1 (02:14:23):
I just think that if the new coach comes in
and Dart's not his kind of guy, but then your
rebuttal is well. During the interview process, you said, hey,
Dart's staying even before.
Speaker 2 (02:14:33):
Even before the injury to Tyreek Hill. What happened the
last year and a half with their offense, what happened
you had it's predictableable, Well apparently so, because all right, well,
there's a flag on the call of the field goal
false and it was a false start against the Broncos.
(02:14:54):
They're going to have to attempt this field goal again.
Eighteen seventeen is the score Denver with the uh yeah,
we won fourteen to go again. The Eagles after this
will get the ball back and they will have no
time outs. What's the distance then, I put it up
on a this is short.
Speaker 1 (02:15:13):
It's a short. Give me thirty six It was thirty
six yards. He misses it. It's again. Put it right
through to me.
Speaker 2 (02:15:18):
You think he's gonna miss this. You're only saying that
because you're hoping he's going to miss it.
Speaker 1 (02:15:22):
I am, because I'll write down the middle to win
this game, I picked them to win. I don't actually
I had the Broncos to cover. I'm sorry they picked
the Broncos.
Speaker 2 (02:15:29):
I caught the Broncos to win like that, you dad
straight up, because I said the Eagles were due for
a loss. All right, the field goal is good twenty
one seventeen Broncos. Eagles will get the ball back, no timeouts,
a minute to go.
Speaker 1 (02:15:42):
This is end zone Radio.
Speaker 4 (02:15:44):
It is over.
Speaker 2 (02:15:46):
It is over for the Philadelphia Eagles run on an
undefeated season. They have been defeated by the Denver Broncos
twenty one to seventeen and had the most unbelievable stat
the Broncos in their history, by trailing by at least
fourteen points going into the fourth quarter in a road game,
were one and one hundred and twelve. They're now two
(02:16:10):
and one hundred and twelve. Huge fourth quarter comeback for
the Broncos. They beat the Eagles eighteen to seventeen, and
in the end it was the Eagles getting down to
the field, they had a couple of shots. Last play
was up for grabs in the back of the end zone,
knocked down by the Broncos. So the Broncos come away
(02:16:32):
with a huge twenty one to seventeen win against the Eagles.
And by the way, this makes things very interesting VJ
in the AFC West because you have the Chargers today hosting.
I say hosting because you know that every game they
have at home is usually a home game for the
(02:16:52):
other team. But they're gonna get a kicking off on
that game against the Commanders coming up, Jayden and Daniels
back after a couple games out within you have the
Chiefs suddenly getting back into things, and of course the
Raiders are already out of it. Their season is over
effectively after getting humiliated today on the road by Indianapolis Colts.
(02:17:14):
But this was a must win for the Broncos today
on the road against the world champion Eagles. Down fourteen
going into the final quarter.
Speaker 1 (02:17:24):
I'm not sure if it was a must win because
I got a feeling some of this AFC is going
to start to kind of fall back to the pack.
That's why I don't think the Ravens are out of it.
They are a lot of guys back. They'll get guys listen.
We've seen so many times where we think we know
what's up in week four and week five. Now week five,
as I said at the top of the show, it
is a tailing. It is a very telling week. But
(02:17:47):
there's still a lot more to play for. There's still
a lot more weeks to go. It's thirteen more weeks.
I'm not out on some teams. Some teams I'm out on.
I think, you know, you could just put the tape
on and see their bad But when other teams have
all their guns, have all have you know, all the
all their big boys, and then we can see what's
what's what's up, and what's real about them. But I
look at I look at some of these these teams,
(02:18:08):
like the Broncos. I don't know if today was a
must win for them, great win for them today. But
I'm kind of listening to the boat a little more
here as far as play calling, line is beat up.
But Sa Kwan needs more than six carries. I'm just
I'm I'm just gonna hang on that. I just you
can't tell me a guy that just ran for two
G's last year, and by week five you're giving him
(02:18:32):
six carries in a home game against a team right
that we were leading the whole game, and the Broncos
did nothing for three quarters. They outscored them fifteen and
nothing in the fourth. They did nothing for three quarters.
Why not run the football, keep the clock moving. But
you're throwing the ball in on incomplete passes and something
(02:18:54):
this passing game. Even on that last drive, he's forcing
it to Goddard. Why are you have Smith? You have age?
Speaker 2 (02:19:01):
On a second here, I'm looking at bo I mean, like,
if he's not an Eagles guy, he's a Rams guy.
Speaker 1 (02:19:07):
So this this is two bad losses.
Speaker 3 (02:19:10):
I had a conversation with our dear friend Iowa Sam.
That is the encapsulation of what's wrong with some football fans.
It did not matter that the Eagles were undefeated going
to this game, when there were glaring warts. They go
throwing out more than anybody in the league. They're only
saving graces their red zone efficiency. But that's going to
fall eventually, and then you're gonna get games like today
(02:19:31):
where you score seventeen points and it's I would hope
that maybe there will be some kind of change. But
they have a short week in New York against the
team that just got embarrassed by the Saints. So I
don't think that's gonna be an easy game. It's not
all it's not all rosy because on Thursday night, So
short week going into Thursday.
Speaker 2 (02:19:53):
Yeah, it's in New York, all right, So updating on
games going on. By the way, that means the Bills
are the last undefeated team, so Bill, I mean that's it.
We're at week five and we only have one undefeated team.
Speaker 1 (02:20:06):
Wow, Okay, and that's because they've been the healthiest.
Speaker 2 (02:20:09):
Yeah, So the Bills right now are the last undefeated
team in the National Football League games that are underway.
Cardinals are leading the Titans seven to nothing. How many
wins are the Titans gonna have this year?
Speaker 1 (02:20:23):
Two or three? Two or three? Man, they listen, they're
not a good football team. They're zering four. They're gonna
lose this game on the road today. They just made
a field goal. But this is what happens when you
have the number one overall. Listen, when you have the
number one overall pick in the NFL, it means you're
not very good and you have a lot of holes
to plug, not unless you trade up to get that
(02:20:46):
pick because you want to go get you think you're
a quarterback away or you think you're that star player
away from you know, being a contender. When you get
the number one overall pick, it normally means you're not
a good football squad. Know what I means? Fifty three
is not as good as everybody else is fifty three.
But that's not so like trying to tear him down.
(02:21:07):
It is what it is. We see this every year.
They got a build, they think they have their quarterback right,
they they got a few little pieces here and there,
but a new coach it takes a minute, all right.
Speaker 2 (02:21:17):
During the baseball postseason. Strauss Made History is the first
brand ever on the Helmets family owns since nineteen forty eight.
Strauss Makes Work. We're built to perform, smart pocket design,
real comfort and durability. You can trust from grit to glory.
Gear up today at Strauss dot Com. That's s t
R a Uss dot Com and we will have the
(02:21:40):
two American League playoff games today. We have the Blue
Jays and the Yankees, and we have the Tigers and
the Mariners. The Yankees Aaron Judge you know, Aaron Judge
postseason wise, it's a little Clayton Kershaw like, like, his
postseason numbers are not the same vicinity of what we've
(02:22:02):
seen in the regular season, and especially if you are
a Yankee, where it's all about the postseason. We know
that Derek Jeter, you know, he was a big postseason guy,
the great Yankees. Seemingly we're all great postseason guys. Does
he have to step it up and really have something?
(02:22:23):
I mean, my, I mean his number one postseason moment
was that drop ball against the Dodgers in the last
game of last year's World Series.
Speaker 1 (02:22:30):
I've clashed with Rob Parker on this conversation. MONSI and
I have had some conversations about this. I do not
hold air and Judge where everybody else does. I don't number.
I don't care. I don't care.
Speaker 2 (02:22:46):
Look at all the World Series that he's with, I.
Speaker 1 (02:22:48):
Don't I don't care because at the end of the day,
I Am not gonna turn into a guy that forgets
why we do all of this. Yes, you can do
regular season numbers in hockey, in Major League Baseball, in
the NBA. Why do we love Jordan? Why do we
love Tiger? Why do we love Serena? Why do we
(02:23:10):
love MESSI? Why do we love Brady? Come on, less,
We can't do this people, I'm not I'll just say this.
Everybody else can do what they want to do. VJ.
Vernon Husky's not gonna do that. And I get the
regular season numbers, But like you just said, when you
put them pint, where did the term mister October come from? Yes? Okay,
so thank you, so stop playing with me.
Speaker 11 (02:23:32):
People.
Speaker 2 (02:23:32):
You remember mister May Dave Winfield, mister.
Speaker 1 (02:23:35):
May, what did that matter? What is what you did
in May June July August says.
Speaker 2 (02:23:41):
That Tempera Winfield, mister May.
Speaker 1 (02:23:46):
In the Major League, the term mister October comes from
the Bronx. Okay, So when you put that pinstripe on,
just like when you put a star on your helmet,
or if you're in college and you put a golden
dough one mean when you when you play college basketball
and you wear Carolina blue, you gotta do certain things.
Speaker 2 (02:24:07):
Yeah, I'm with you on this one, but we'll see
if Aaron Judges and the Yankees gonna wait that happen.
After getting blown out by the Blue Jays ten to
win yesterday, find out what is trending. Right now, Monsey
is looking up as are you reading for the Lions
who just got into the.
Speaker 11 (02:24:23):
End z on lod because I have I have Saan Laforida.
Speaker 2 (02:24:26):
Yeah, the Lions are gonna score plenty today against this
really bad Bengals team.
Speaker 11 (02:24:32):
Listen, and where do things have happened? Not that they're
not gonna win, but maybe they don't score as much.
I'm just saying, where do things have happened?
Speaker 10 (02:24:38):
They're gonna win of course, of course six zero right now,
bending the extra point because the Bengals are looking rough.
Speaker 1 (02:24:45):
Really Wick, my, my, judge, You and I we talked
about this last year.
Speaker 11 (02:24:48):
You know I can't see you, I know.
Speaker 1 (02:24:50):
So we're still yeah cool. Look Rob told me I
actually never talked bank baseball game.
Speaker 10 (02:24:54):
I mean, what you're saying is not that it's not
true that he doesn't deliver like you know in the
in the post or he hasn't that's not true. But
to like say that you're not impressed is like I
can't I can't argue with the wall because I can't
help you. He is one of only a hands to
have four fift especially because in baseball, you know, like
(02:25:14):
the best team doesn't necessarily win. Barry Bonds never won
a World Series. There's a lot of like individual performances
that have to come together. You just saw the Rangers
play in the World Series and then not make the
postseason the next year.
Speaker 2 (02:25:26):
Roley Mays, Willie May's played in four World Series. He
never hit a World Series home run? Does anyone ever
talk about that?
Speaker 1 (02:25:32):
But you know zero?
Speaker 11 (02:25:34):
But and you know what another, feelings get in the way.
Speaker 1 (02:25:38):
You listen, I give you another play. The same way
about Mike Trout. Yeah, well, Mike, same thing. Stop telling
me about this god. Ted Williams is.
Speaker 2 (02:25:50):
The greatest hitter in the history of baseball, hit two
hundred in his one World Series five singles.
Speaker 10 (02:25:55):
Mike, Mike Trout is one of how many players have
three or more MVPs ten maybe not, and he's one
of them.
Speaker 11 (02:26:01):
It's just less than that one.
Speaker 1 (02:26:02):
And in ten years he'll be a forgotten god.
Speaker 10 (02:26:05):
He will he'll be in the Hall fan but he
will be a foot Nope, but not because of what
he did, but because of what the organization did.
Speaker 1 (02:26:12):
Exactly.
Speaker 11 (02:26:13):
He's never left. You could hate on him, he could
have left, He could have and he's still there. He's
still there.
Speaker 1 (02:26:17):
I just I need I need postseason success, man, I
just but it's so it's so hard in baseball.
Speaker 2 (02:26:24):
So you hate Hernie Banks what they want because he
played for the Cubs and never had a post.
Speaker 1 (02:26:28):
So then why do we love? You know, we love Jeter.
Didn't have awesome regular season numbers, but you know what
Jeter did when October came on both sides, whether he
was at the plate or if he or I guess
the history of as it gets jumped gen be out
at the plate. That saves that game, like the dude
(02:26:52):
don't for a buy and busted his eye.
Speaker 2 (02:26:54):
Come on me, come on, man, late a second. I'm
looking up numbers on Jeter. Here for a second career
batting average in the regular season three ten postseason threeh
eight more is consistent.
Speaker 1 (02:27:05):
Consistency moments though, any moments that you'll remember.
Speaker 11 (02:27:10):
I you know, like I hear you, but I do
think feelings getting your way of your hatred for.
Speaker 3 (02:27:14):
Aaron Judge, A quick up date for you. Aaron Judge
just misplayed a ball and turned a single into a triple?
Speaker 1 (02:27:21):
Did he really?
Speaker 3 (02:27:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:27:22):
Wow? Okay, thank you? Yeah.
Speaker 11 (02:27:27):
Guys, go on lunch and talk about Judge.
Speaker 3 (02:27:30):
When Judge comes up with the bases loaded in the
bottom of the fifth, I'm sure he'll hit the ball.
Speaker 1 (02:27:34):
Yes, sure that.
Speaker 10 (02:27:34):
You guys could have lunch, enjoy each other's company, and
hate Aaron Judge together.
Speaker 11 (02:27:38):
What a romantic night. What a romantic night.
Speaker 10 (02:27:41):
Uh they're scoreless though, blue Jays and Yeah's are scoreless.
Speaker 11 (02:27:45):
But bo is right that they the blue Jays have
Oh no, they just scored great to zero.
Speaker 1 (02:27:50):
No they're not.
Speaker 11 (02:27:50):
It's to zero. They just scored.
Speaker 2 (02:27:51):
I see that.
Speaker 1 (02:27:52):
No, No, no, I have Judge in October.
Speaker 10 (02:27:54):
To zero is the score. Blue Jay's up, and they
do leave the series one zero. Also, I just thought
there was no baseball today because the National League took
the day off. So I was like, why would the
American League play? Would why would you play? Why did
you play one game and then take.
Speaker 11 (02:28:09):
The next day off?
Speaker 2 (02:28:10):
Staggering game. That's the worst of the division series.
Speaker 11 (02:28:14):
If I'm a player, I would hate you. You don't
have me play one game and then just take a
day off the next day. Stagger it in a different way.
That doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 1 (02:28:22):
Look at you, you're hysterical about this.
Speaker 11 (02:28:28):
Feelings I am in my field. I taly Am.
Speaker 5 (02:28:31):
In my feelings, I would be hysterical if the Tigers
were playing at the same time as Alliance, right, Like,
I just hates It's very good?
Speaker 1 (02:28:37):
All right?
Speaker 11 (02:28:38):
Should I do an update? I don't even know what's
happening to you, guys, Okay football? Back to football. Cardinals
up on a Titan seven three late in the first quarter.
Speaker 10 (02:28:46):
Early in the second, where the Buccaneers are up on
the Seahawks and Seattle three zero lines in the end zone.
Sam Laporta seven zero over the Bengals early in the
first Commanders and Chargers just got going scoreless so far
in that one. The Colts are four and one after
crushing the Raiders forty to six. Jonathan Taylor seventeen carry
sixty six yards, three touchdowns. The Broncos scored eighteen points
(02:29:06):
in the fourth quarter to hand the Eagles their first loss,
coming down on top twenty one to seventeen. The twelve
game home win streak that Philly had has snapped now
thanks to Denver and bo Nicks twenty four thirty nine,
two hundred and forty two yards, one touchdown.
Speaker 11 (02:29:20):
Texans rolled past the Ravens forty four to ten. CJ.
Speaker 10 (02:29:23):
Stroud twenty three of twenty seven two hundred and forty
four yards, four touchdowns. The Panthers came back to defeat
the Dolphins twenty seven to twenty four. Bryce Young nineteen
of thirty one hundred and ninety eight yards, two touchdowns, one.
Speaker 11 (02:29:34):
Inter one interception.
Speaker 10 (02:29:36):
The Rico Dowdle twenty three carries, two hundred and six
yards and a touchdown. The Saints got their first win
of the day. They shout out the Giants in the
second half and beat them twenty four to fourteen. New
York had three fumbles lost, all of them one of
them was returned for a touchdown. The Cowboys outscored the
Jets thirty seven to twenty two. Dak Prescott eighteen of
twenty nine two hundred and thirty seven yards and four
(02:29:57):
touchdowns in that one, while the Vikings beat the Rounds
in London twenty one to seventeen. When it comes to
the w NBA Finals Game two, the Aces are up
on the Mercury seventy six to sixty one after three quarters.
Speaker 11 (02:30:11):
Back to you guys, finals right now.
Speaker 2 (02:30:13):
Yeah, w NBA Finals. Yeah, that's a league imploding right now.
I mean, when you have when you have players ripping
the commissioner and the leadership of a league.
Speaker 1 (02:30:24):
I mean that who's the minnis lady who just went
off on? Now who just went the player league? I'm
telling it.
Speaker 2 (02:30:33):
And they're going to have a whole and they're going
to try to do a lockout. I mean, I mean,
we could literally see a shutdown of the WNBA that
at the rate they were going, right, that will be hysterical.
Speaker 1 (02:30:44):
It is unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (02:30:45):
All right, we'd the Fox Sports Radio studios. Hey, don't
forget after the show, the podcast is going up. If
you miss any of today's show, be sure to check
out the podcast. Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you
get your podcasts, then follow and review the podcast rated
five stars. Again, just search Fox Sports Radio whatever it
gets podcasting to see today's show posted right after we
(02:31:06):
get off the air. Uh yeah, that is a league
in deep, deep trouble. And if they try to, you know,
walk out and hold out.
Speaker 14 (02:31:15):
For more.
Speaker 1 (02:31:18):
Down, could you see them shutting it down?
Speaker 2 (02:31:20):
Well, I mean if they're if their demands are too great, yeah,
you're you're still losing money, hand.
Speaker 1 (02:31:26):
Over fist, all right.
Speaker 2 (02:31:27):
The Chargers taking care of business on that opening drive
Justin Herbert with a forty one yard run. Forty one
yard run, ends up throwing a touchdown pass to Lad
McConkie to finish it up. So the Chargers off to
the seven to nothing lead. By the way, Chargers again
after obviously a very tough loss last week against the
(02:31:48):
windless Giants.
Speaker 1 (02:31:51):
That's a really bad loss. I mean, especially the way
the Giants look today.
Speaker 2 (02:31:54):
Oh it's not no actually, but anyway, but think about
this for the Chargers. So they are three and one,
obviously they get to if they get to four and one,
they still maintain their lead over the Broncos that are
now three and two after their upset win over the Eagles,
and regardless of it, the Chiefs too.
Speaker 1 (02:32:14):
So there you go, And I tell you this man
about about this this Chargers team, what like everybody else,
they they're dinged up. But guys do come back. Now
we know Slater's done, okay, but all will get back
to have some other guys back the running back room.
Naje Harris was a big loss. That was a big
loss with him blowing out the leg and him being
(02:32:36):
remember they also have Beton out. Yeah, Becton is also out.
So but there yeah, McCree goes down. They're down three guys.
But like I said, it's a long season, and the
backups get more reps. They can't just come in and
perform right off the break. It's not gonna be that
way because if that was the case, they'd be somewhere
else as a starter. Because you can't tell me all
(02:32:58):
five started offensive life time in on all thirty two
teams are perennial all pro players. No, there's some guys
that just can't get it, but they're surrounded by better
guys than good guys or sometimes that's just the best
that that franchise has to play and has to use
at that point. But if you get more first team
reps in practice, you get more attention in film study,
and you get more reps on the field. As weeks
(02:33:20):
go on, some guys do improve and get better until
the Cavalry arrives with the starters returning from injury.
Speaker 2 (02:33:27):
NFC West crazy, It is crazy, razy so that Cardinals
have taken a fourteen to three lead over the winless Titans.
A couple of things about this game. First of all,
Kyler Murray six to seven hundred and two yards. He's
also run for a touchdown, and he's getting Marvin Harrison
Junior into the offense. Three targets, three catches, seventy nine yards.
(02:33:49):
So you look at the Cardinals, let's figure they win
it home today against the windless Titans.
Speaker 1 (02:33:54):
They're three and two.
Speaker 2 (02:33:56):
We got the Seahawks in their game going against the Bucks.
Even if they lose, they're still three and two.
Speaker 1 (02:34:02):
Right.
Speaker 2 (02:34:03):
The Rams are three and two, right, and there you
got the forty nine ers at four and one. But
that would be a division if the Arizona Cardinals win today.
Regardless of what the Seahawks do. Everyone above five hundred,
all four teams.
Speaker 1 (02:34:17):
And a Niners team that no one here could figure out.
When we did our preview, we were all over the matter.
Everybody here.
Speaker 2 (02:34:24):
We just did and I said, was they have to
have a healthy McCaffrey. Mile McCaffrey's out there, but he
has them in the kind of difference maker that he
normally is not even close.
Speaker 1 (02:34:35):
And I question whether Brock Perdy and get I get
him getting paidy. I'm not the guy that gets mad
when guys get paid. That's stupid, in my opinion. I
just think that's silly. It is what it is. And
it's next man up. I've always said that about the NFL.
I don't want to hear what someone didn't win. If
that's the case, then change the structure. It's next man up.
And I need my agent to make sure I get
(02:34:55):
paid next because I'm the next guy up coming to
my contract. But I did question if Brock Purdy to
me the jury was still out on him. And when
you could plug in a mac Jones and mac Gett
spread the ball around, no Kiddle, no Jennings, no IYU right,
and go on a road and win a game like
(02:35:18):
they did, Mac mac Jones was like a Pro Bowl quarterback.
Speaker 2 (02:35:21):
Again, let me remind you this, Jimmy Garoppolo's record as
the forty nine ers starting quarterback with Kyle Shanahan was
thirty eight and seventeen. Preach thirty eight and seventeen. Jimmy Garoppolo, right,
who can't get on the film? I mean you got
to give Kyle Shanahan. I mean everyone's like, wow, Mac
Jones look good. Well, most of the quarterbacks on that
(02:35:42):
team and that offense.
Speaker 1 (02:35:43):
Have looked good. Can you just plug a quarterback in there?
Speaker 2 (02:35:46):
So Jimmy Garoppolo thirty eight and seventeen as a starting
quarterback for Kyle Shanahan.
Speaker 1 (02:35:53):
Brock Purty's actually worse. When our good friend here, who's
over FS we used to be here Fox Will Radio,
Chris Broussard. I remember what he had to take that
Brock party had arrived and him and I bumped crazy
heads about it, and I said, arrived what because he
because he's starting off hot. And you plug anybody in
with this even this is one everybody was healthy. This
(02:36:13):
is when you had who wont some a debo. This
is when you had McCaffrey proven proven that you know
he he Carolina, Their their their training staff messed him
up there. He was really healthier, healthier than they were
leading on to and he This is when you had
everything moving, and it's like, dude, you can kind of
plug people in. But it's kind of showing Steve he
(02:36:33):
kind of plug a quarterback into the system.
Speaker 2 (02:36:35):
Man seventeen and four, his first two years of the Niners.
Since then seven and ten. All right, coming up on
the other side, we'll get just set for tonight this afternoon.
Everything you need to know about the NFL.
Speaker 14 (02:36:45):
This is end Zone Radio, Purport under center, Strength of
the Line, is right throwing to is right throwing to
the end zone.
Speaker 6 (02:36:53):
Cod Land mcaukee first touchdown.
Speaker 1 (02:36:56):
Of the season for number fifteen.
Speaker 2 (02:36:59):
That's the Chargers Radio Network. Chargers quick seven nothing lead
and looks like they're going for more right now as
the Chargers off to a great start rolling here down
to the Commander's twenty seven yard line. So the lack
of any offensive tackles at least early on has had
(02:37:20):
zero effect on the Chargers and they look in good
shape right now.
Speaker 1 (02:37:25):
Again.
Speaker 2 (02:37:25):
At victory today, they will maintain a one game lead
over the rest of the AFC West. By the way,
I want to thank our crew today once again. As
we are here in the Fox Sports Radio studios. Montsey
brilliant as always. She wears multiple hats on this show
because she's obviously updating us on scores. Of course she
(02:37:46):
updates on fantasy. She also is an emotional wrack at times,
as we all are.
Speaker 1 (02:37:53):
She's a fashion consultant, fair competitive.
Speaker 2 (02:37:58):
Competitive about this show is we have five competitors here, Yes,
yeah we do.
Speaker 1 (02:38:03):
There is nobody here.
Speaker 2 (02:38:05):
That nobody's to lose, no wants to make anything, each other.
Speaker 11 (02:38:14):
Each other.
Speaker 2 (02:38:15):
It's a lot of love, but it's hard loss at
Chris Burfett as usual, brilliant on the board. Chris, Uh,
give us an over. I'm giving you an over.
Speaker 1 (02:38:25):
Under.
Speaker 2 (02:38:25):
Given me over under thirty five and a half.
Speaker 1 (02:38:29):
For the Lions today thirty five and a half points. Yeah,
over over, thirty five and a half over.
Speaker 2 (02:38:34):
I know they just fumbled the ball here, but by
the way, goff is seventy seven for ninety two yards
in the score to start this.
Speaker 5 (02:38:40):
I'm actually shocked that became a fumble and non forward pass.
His arm was going forward and all time.
Speaker 2 (02:38:45):
We obviously with the Rams losing, Eagles losing, it's all
Dodgers for you right now, right, I mean, what how
long will this winning streak for the Dodgers extend? The Actually,
if you count the end of the regular season, they've
won eight straight games.
Speaker 3 (02:38:59):
Sweet yeah, I mean hopefully sweet two. So are they
gonna sweep hopefully ten more in a row, so.
Speaker 2 (02:39:05):
They sweep the Pills?
Speaker 1 (02:39:06):
Is that what you're predicting?
Speaker 3 (02:39:07):
Oh no, I'm not predicting that. It is really critical
that they won that game last night.
Speaker 1 (02:39:11):
It was a huge win.
Speaker 2 (02:39:12):
I mean, you're down three nothing on the road and
come back to win that game.
Speaker 1 (02:39:17):
What a bum?
Speaker 5 (02:39:18):
Rap again that the American League has to play tonight.
Like I'm as someone who dies with the Tigers every
time they play.
Speaker 2 (02:39:23):
This is well, I understand, But if you are a
baseball fan, sure you're gonna watch playoff baseball.
Speaker 1 (02:39:29):
Oh I'm a football fan.
Speaker 5 (02:39:31):
But also tonight is like the Bills are playing. Let
me just look at oh the Patriots. Okay, yeah, I'm
doing depends If.
Speaker 2 (02:39:37):
You're watching the Bills Patriots over baseball and you claim
to be a baseball fan, you're not a.
Speaker 1 (02:39:42):
Baseball Not only that, guys, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls.
The average family home has three tablets, thank you. You
can watch if you can win multi absolutely and you
two and now you could create your own multiview channel
and pick exactly what you want your two, three or
four boxes to be.
Speaker 5 (02:39:59):
So I just wish I'd get a smaller picture in
picture because I'd love to relegate the Sunday night football
to the smaller picture.
Speaker 1 (02:40:05):
Put Sunday football on your tablet, all right, put the
baseball game on TV VJ. I need a pick tonight.
What do you say?
Speaker 2 (02:40:10):
We've got the Bill's seven and a half point favorites
at home against the Pats to go with my hate
by the way, under forty nine and a half.
Speaker 1 (02:40:21):
Also, uh, give me the under under, give me the
under in the forty nine and a half. But the
go of my my hate juice that Monty said, I'm
drinking today because they sh'll add Josh Allen to Aaron
Judge and to Mike Trout. Give me, give me the
Patriots to cover.
Speaker 2 (02:40:37):
By the way, Tomorrow night, Jags are a home dog.
If you don't follow Monday night football, home dogs not
only cover, they win straight up. Yeap with a lot
of frequency can take Jaguars continue. I got the jack
straight up.
Speaker 3 (02:40:51):
I'm with you.
Speaker 2 (02:40:51):
I think the Jacks could absolutely win that game.
Speaker 1 (02:40:54):
First Tom Travis Hunter National TV watch Out, first time
Travis Hunter National Television watch Out. I hope that they
get him the ball. They just show Magic Johnson that
the magic is everywhere. Man, he's just at the Dodger game.
Speaker 2 (02:41:07):
Well he's I know, manag, I mean you know he's there.
By the way, we're getting ready because Dan Byer and
Carrie Rose are ready to take over for all your
NFL coverage, for everything you need in the world of sports.
Speaker 1 (02:41:19):
This is the place to be. This bless everybody,
