This is the best of the Ben Mahler Show on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
So let's get after it.

Speaker 4 (00:33):
Let's start off with some bad news. So Anthony Richardson,
Colts quarterback, he dislocated his right pinky finger in preseason
action against the Ravens on Thursday night. So this is
the Colts second possession. Richardson drops back, he gets sacked
and he gets driven into the ground unblocked linebacker David Ojabo.

(00:56):
He got to him and this is how it sounded
on the Colts radio No network.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Here you go.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Anthony Richardson goes out of the gunballman here Hash backs
to throw and he is deck from the left and
he has sacked and buried.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
He took a big time hit, but more importantly hangs.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
On to the football and the Ravens with a sack
off the left edge and.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
He's going off the field, Matt he got hit unobated.

Speaker 6 (01:19):
There was no one blocking the The protection was totally
not there.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Uh, the protection was not there. He's right about that.

Speaker 4 (01:27):
But what also wasn't there was the awareness, zero awareness
from Anthony Richardson. Didn't feel the heat, didn't even know
there was heat. You got to do a better job
recognizing the pressure. That's not just on your protection, that's
also on the quarterback. And it's the same old song
and dance with Anthony Richardson. He was the fourth overall

(01:49):
pick just two years ago and it's been a disaster.
And this is the thing. If we zoom out for
a second, you ever have a friend who's just in
a bad relationship. We've all had that right where it's
just your buddy is just arguing with his girl constantly,
and you either think or say, like, man, they're just

(02:12):
not good together, like they need to be away from
each other. That's how I feel about Anthony Richardson and
the Colts. Not that they're arguing all the time, but
they're just bad for each other. If you look at
the Colts, how are the Colts bad for Anthony Richardson. Well,
they rushed him on the field as a Week one
starter his rookie season. He was nowhere near ready to

(02:34):
start in the NFL. This guy had fewer than four
hundred passing attempts in college at Florida. Under four hundred attempts.
That's a guy who needs seasoning. That's a guy who
needs to be brought along slowly, Get a ton of reps,
digest the playbook folly. He needs the red shirt his

(02:56):
first year in the NFL. His rookie year should have
been a red shirt year. He would have been way
better off not seeing the field. But the Colts not
only got him on the field, they rushed him out
there in Week one. What blows my mind is if
you compare Anthony Richardson to a couple of quarterbacks. One,
let's start with who I think is the best quarterback

(03:16):
in the game right now, it's still Patrick Mahomes. If
you look at Mahomes in college, Mahomes through thirteen hundred
and forty nine passes in college, Anthony Richardson through three
ninety three. Mahomes attempted almost a thousand more passes in
college than Anthony Richardson does it's a lot of reps,

(03:40):
that's a lot of learning on the job, that's a
lot of seasoning. You just didn't have that with Anthony Richardson.
And then if you take the comparison further, what happened
with both of those quarterbacks their rookie year.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Mahomes sat almost the entire year.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
He had one start at the very end of the
regular season against Coops Bronca. That was it one start.
So Mahomes started one game as a rookie. Anthony Richardson
started week one as a rookie with a portion of
the experience that Mahomes had in college made no sense.

(04:15):
The Colts had no patience whatsoever. Put them in a
terrible spot. The colts that you ever have, like you
ever have a dog and you put a treat like
at the end of his nose, and the dogs sitting
there for a few seconds just kind of like looking
at it, crosssied like, oh man, I can only do
this for a few seconds. You realize that, right, And
those evil owners are like wait, wait, wait, fight, oh

(04:37):
not yet, not wait, and the dog's.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Like, oh man, I can't take it anywhere. That's the Colts.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
The Colts are the dog with a treat at the
end of its nose and they're like, hey.

Speaker 7 (04:47):
I get that.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
We just got to start Anthony Richardson that and they
threw him out there and it was a disaster. Now,
where Anthony Richardson is bad for the Colts, you can't
put this just on the Colts. Anthony Richrichardson has been
freaking brutal and even though he got thrown out there
before I think he was ready and the Colts did
a disservice to him, He's done a disservice to the

(05:09):
Colts as well. He's been atrocious. And not only are
his numbers, I mean like a carbon copy of Tim
Tebow's quarterback numbers in the NFL. By the way, that
is someone you do not want to have carbon copy
numbers with. That would be Tim Tebow. You want numbers
that are way better than that.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
I'm telling you.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
It's the Spider Man meme where the two guys are
pointing at each other.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
That's the stat.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
Lines in the NFL of Anthony Richardson and Tim Tebow.
They are so similar it's staggering, and so like, Anthony
Richardson has been that bad as a quarterback and not
only has it been unproductive, he's been banged up all
the time. He's bess seventeen games in his first two seasons.

(05:56):
Think about that, they play seventeen games a season. That's
thirty four games in two years. He's missed seventeen of them.
He's missed half the games due to injury. So he's
banged up, he's unproductive, and he tapped out. He tapped
out last season because he was tired. What have you
heard that in the NFL A quarterback was tired and

(06:19):
was like, yeah, I need out of the game. Everyone's like,
what what do you mean you?

Speaker 3 (06:26):
Uh? Okay? He tapped out of the game because he
was tired.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
So he's done a disservice to the Colts as well.
He's been bad, he's been banged up, he's tapped out,
and the Colts threw him out there way before he
was ready. They are just horrible for each other, and
unfortunately he got banged up, dislocated right pinky finger. Obviously
he is throwing hand and he's gonna be out for
a little bit of time. He wanted to get back

(06:52):
out there. He tried to regrip the football on the sidelines,
wasn't working. They showed it on the on the replay,
it's like, you know, his hand is facing north and
his pinky is going a sharp east.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
You know that's never a good sign, not good at all.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
But it's another, you know, huge speed bump, another huge
hurdle in the on the path of Anthony Richardson being
a serviceable NFL quarterback. Like even before what happened on
Thursday with the injury, he there were reports out of
Colts camp. You know, James Boyd covers the Colts for
the Athletic and he's like, hey, this guy, Daniel Jones,

(07:29):
he's got a good shot to start Week one. He's
been the more consistent quarterback thus far. Again, you don't
want to be neck and neck with Daniel Jones, who's
been a complete disappointment in his NFL career, who has
much more experience than Anthony Richardson. But you want to
be further along than that guy. You want to flash
more in training camp. The Colts put it this way,

(07:52):
they want their number four overall pick to flash more
than Daniel Jones, who's been a total disappointment and who
they signed on the cheap in.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
A one year deal.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
They want Anthony Richardson to be the guy. They've done
everything they can for him to be the guy, and
it's it's just not working out. Man, it's not happening.
The stats I mentioned between Anthony Richardson and Tebow, I'm
not going to bombard you with stats galore, but it's crazy.
So Anthony Richardson his record eight and seven in the NFL.

(08:24):
Tebow was eight and six in the NFL. Anthony Richardson,
Anthony Richardson has completed three more passes. Tibo had thirteen
more attempts. That's about as close as you can get
completion percentage very similar. Tebow threw for thirty one more yards.
Think about over the course of like fifteen versus fourteen

(08:48):
starts plus thirty one for Tebou. Tibou had six more
touchdown passes four fewer interceptions. So advantage Tebou there, Tim Tebow.
Remember Teba as a quarterback? Yeah, that guy plus seven
point five in passer rating. Teebo's passer rating career wise
in the NFL seven point five points better than Richardson,

(09:09):
and Tebow ran the ball more. He rushed for over
three hundred and fifty more yards than Anthony Richardson and
about the same number of starts. So it's like Tim
Tebow has outplayed Anthony Richardson in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
That's astoundingly bad.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
I wish I had better news for you Colts fans,
but that's where you are. Man, Like, one preseason game
in and this is the reality is Richardson is hurt
again and now we're looking at Danny Dimes as the
more probable Week one starter. How are you supposed to
be fired up for that? Now, one other thing I
will mention here, and this doesn't just apply to the Colts,

(09:49):
but this applies to a lot of NFL teams in
the preseason. Something else that the Colts did. They were
playing with fire in this game. So they put Anthony
Richardson out there, they gave him the start. They didn't
start the offensive line Anthony Richardson before this injury.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
He at least had a shot to be the Week
one starter.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
And the Colts are like, yeah, let's rest the veteran
offensive lineman. You didn't have the left tackle in there,
Bernard Ryman. You didn't have the right tackle in there,
Braden Smith, you didn't have the left guarden there.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Quintin Nelson. You're playing with fire.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
If you're gonna put a quarterback behind center who might
be your Week one starter and you don't have starting
offensive linemen out there, that is absolutely playing with fire.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
And hey man, it cost the Colts.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
And I wouldn't just say the injury occurred because you
had the backup right tackle in there.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
If anything, the running back was supposed to pick the
guy up.

Speaker 4 (10:53):
You like, the tight end just ran a pattern, and
you had the Ravens linebacker just scraped on that side
of the ball and no one blocked him at all.
So it is a complete mix up by the protection.
But also Anthony Richardson, you gotta be more aware. You've
got to recognize what's going on. I understand there are

(11:13):
gonna be some breakdowns and protection and those sorts of
things will happen, But Anthony Richardson hasn't earned the benefit
of the doubt. You know, if Mahomes just doesn't see
a blitz coming, it's like, okay, that doesn't happen all
the time. But when you've seen a steady diet of
Anthony Richardson holding onto the ball too long, you know,

(11:33):
miscues galore, not recognizing the pressure or the blitz. He
hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt. Got to be
way more aware than he is. But it's just a
matter of time. The Colts are going to move on
from him. It's a complete waste. They spent a top
ten pick, top five pick on Richardson and they were morons. Yeah.

(11:54):
I can't put this only on Anthony Richardson. To trot
him out there in week one is just like you
guys got to have a better long term approach than that.
I just think they set them up for failure. Now,
there are some quarterbacks that honestly are set up for failure.
They're thrown out there before they're ready. And some quarterbacks

(12:16):
are good enough to overcome that, and Anthony Richardson just isn't.
He hasn't had enough experience, didn't get enough reps in college,
so he couldn't be thrown out there before he was ready.
The Colts did it, and now they're in this spot. Man,
they don't have a quarterback for the now or the future.
That's where they're at.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
We got another sex toy on the court of a
WNBA game. Now, this is the fourth sex toy that
has reached the court of a WNBA game. Now, there
are a couple of layers here. I didn't realize what
was going on. I'm like, wait a minute. So over
the last week and a half, there have been four

(13:37):
sex toys that have been thrown onto a WNBA court
during the game. Okay, what I didn't realize was all
of the sex toys that were thrown at WNBA games
that didn't reach the court.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Because I'm looking at this.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
And I'm like, okay, I'm looking at all this information,
it's just all kinds of stuff. I'm not going to
bombard you with all of these things, but a couple
of them are kind of interesting, as best I can tell.
And I tried to research this as best I can.
It's it's tough. It's like you ever see a beautiful
mind where Russell Crow is kind of losing his mind
and he's like.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
Oh, this connects to that and this means this, and.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
That's how I was trying to figure out the timeline
of the sex.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Toys being thrown on WNBA courts.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
This is the best I can tell, So I believe
this started back on July twenty ninth, so a little
more than a week ago. It was Tuesday to twenty ninth.
It was the Valkyries and the Dream. There was a
man that was arrested, Delbert Carver, twenty three years old,

(14:44):
threw a sex toy on the court. Now he was
arrested and charged with get this listen, all these charges
disorderly conduct, public indecency, slash, indecent exposure, and criminal trespass.
Sounds like a lot of stuff, Like I'm no lawyer,
I don't know if you know. He's found guilty all

(15:05):
across the board what that means. But that's a lot
of stuff to be charged with.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
I know that much. And so I'm piecing this together. Okay.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
It happened a couple of nights later, Friday, August first,
Valkyri's Chicago Sky Game.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
All right.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
Then I'm like, wait a minute, something's weird with August fifth.
So this is Tuesday, August fifth, one week after the
first sex toy was thrown on the court.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Okay, and so I'm.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
Reading this story about an eighteen year old who was arrested.
He tried to throw a dildo on the court. Didn't
make it, you know, it didn't reach the court. It
hit like an uncle and the niece, like a nine
year old niece or something like it. These two people,
it didn't make it onto the court. This guy was tackled,
you know, he was arrested, the whole thing. And he

(15:56):
said the eighteen year old, this guy named Cadenpez, he
told officers. He was like, it's just a stupid prank
that I was that was trending on social media. He
apologized that I'm sorry, I was just following this stupid prank.
That's what it is, Like, go back to when you
were eighteen. Now, I wasn't like, dildo thrown on the

(16:18):
court stupid during a game when I was eighteen, that's
pretty freaking stupid.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
And if there was something.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
That, oh, it's just the new thing to do, I
probably would have been like, oh, cool, Yeah, it's There's
plenty of things I've done at eighteen years old that
were completely.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
Dumb, and looking back, like, what the hell was I thinking?
That's what's happening here?

Speaker 4 (16:39):
But that happened at a Connecticut Son Phoenix Mercury game,
all right, And I'm like, wait a minute, didn't that
same night there was a sex toy that hit Sophie
Cunningham of the Indiana Fever, And I'm like, wait a minute.
On that same night, August fifth, there was another sex

(17:02):
toy thrown at the Wings Liberty game, and that sex
toy didn't reach the court. So on the same night
there were three different games. I didn't realize any of this.
I'm piecing it together, like, wait, okay, we got the
section of this is the fourth sex toy that has
reached the court, But there's another like sub section of

(17:25):
sex toys that are thrown at games that haven't reached
the court, but they were thrown nevertheless, Like I'm like,
oh my gosh, I didn't realize all all this stuff
is happening. But that's where we are. I don't know
what the official count is. There are at least four
sex toys that have made it onto the court, which

(17:47):
is stupid and dangerous. It hit Sophie Cunningham. It could
have been way worse that the trend like the fun
is over. At least that's how I see it. Maybe
you look at the first one like oh wow that
or it hits Sophie Cunningham and you're like, wow, that's
kind of a coincidence. She put it out there on
X like stop doing this, and then she's the one
who gets hit by it. And to me, the fun

(18:10):
is over, if there ever was any fun, The fun
is officially over.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
This is dumb. It's played out.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
It's not even like oh wow, Like the whole shock
value of it is worn off, like the betting aspect
of you could bet.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
On the color of the next one to reach the court.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (18:28):
To me, the whole thing is just like what are
we doing at this point? Like this thing is done?
Like this is the equivalent of well, I didn't even know.
I don't want to make it the exact same thing.
But you know when something gets played out where it
was cool for a month for someone to say, oh,
he's all that and a bag of chips, and then

(18:49):
someone said it like months later that it was completely outdated.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
No, we're not doing that anymore.

Speaker 8 (18:54):
Man.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
That's it's like someone shows up to the party now
and dabs and you're like, wow, dude, that's that way,
or no, man, that's not the thing.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
That's where I'm at with this whole thing.

Speaker 4 (19:06):
It's wow, it's time to turn the page on this one.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
But does that not blow your mind? I didn't know that.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
I didn't know on Tuesday, just a couple of nights ago,
three different games sex toys are just being thrown around
from the crowd trying to make it.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
Onto the court. They might just hit someone upside the
head and not make it to the court.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Meller
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
Well, I gotta bet that Coop should be making, but
he will not be making.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
And I understand why.

Speaker 4 (19:40):
So I told Coop off the air I'm like, bro,
we were talking Super Bowl odds. I'm not going to
talk about that right here. That was a conversation we
had off the air, but it leads into the same
team I was telling him about if you look at
the divisional odds in the NFL, it actually the money

(20:01):
dropped a little bit. So it was the Chiefs that
minus won twenty to win the AFC West, and it
didn't drop a lot, but it dropped to minus one
eighteen on BETMGM. So if you're betting the Chiefs, if
you risk one hundred and eighteen dollars, you would win
one hundred dollars. This is a Chiefs team that's won
the division nine years in a row. They won it

(20:24):
the first two years without Mahomes, with just Andy Reid
there right, they were winning it with Alex Smith, and
then Mahomes takes over and he's won at seven straight years.
They're going for a decade straight winning the AFC West.
And there was listen some bad news on on Thursday.
So the Chargers left tackle Rashaan Slater. He was carted

(20:48):
off the practice field. Turns out he had season ending surgery.
He had a ruptured PTEL. Attendant done for the year.
He's gonna undergo surgery. He's placed on ir sit. The
dream is over at least for twenty twenty five. And
it's such a bummer for the Chargers for numerous reasons.
So he just signed a huge contract extension a week

(21:12):
and a half ago. So he signed a four year,
one hundred and thirteen million dollar extension, ninety two million
dollars guaranteed. That deal made him the highest paid offensive
lineman in terms of money per year in NFL history,
highest paid guy. And then a week and a half later,
boom knee injury, gone, done, done for the season. Just

(21:35):
practice was blocking a teammate and apparently is his leg
buckled a little bit before he made impact. It's just
one of those, you know, non impact injuries and he's gone.
So what they're gonna have to do. They're probably gonna
have to shift Joe Alt from the right side to
the left side. He did play left tackle the whole
time at Notre Dame. At least he has experience. They're

(21:56):
probably gonna have to shift around. They probably have to
move Trey Pipkins, who was a guard the last couple
of years ago, got to move him back out to
right tackles, shift things around. Losing Rashaun Slater is a big,
big loss for the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
Again.

Speaker 4 (22:10):
They want to pound the rock. We're talking you know
Jim Harbaugh over here. He loves to run the ball.
And when you have you know, Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman,
they're like, oh, you know what game plan, Let's run it.
Let's run it. Let's run it some more. All right,
we gotta pass it, all right, we get to run

(22:31):
it some more. Like that. They love running the football.
I love this quote. This is when they drafted Joe Alt.
This is what the twenty four draft, so just last year,
and instead of drafting Malik Neighbors, who was fantastic for
the Giants last season, they didn't draft a wide receiver
in the first round. They went for Joe Alt, the

(22:55):
tackle out of Notre Dame. And this is what Jim
Harbaugh said at the time.

Speaker 5 (22:58):
I know the question's gonna come up and you're to say, like,
you know, what about what about a weapon? What about
a uh offensive lineman? We look at his weapons. That
group when we talk about attacking, and we talk about
attacking on offense, offensive line is the tip of the spear.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
What a quote right there. Huh.

Speaker 5 (23:16):
At the end, offensive line is the tip of the spear.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
Offensive line is the tip of the spear.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
I want to just throw on some shoulder pads right now.
I might get knocked around.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
I don't care. I'm fired up. Jim Harbaugh, I love
that quote right there.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
So yeah, they look at offensive offensive lineman and as weapons,
one of their best their best offensive weapon. If that's
the way they view it is down right like they
look at that and it begins with the offensive line.
Herbert does this thing. Lad McConkey is really good. They
have big hopes for Amar and Hampton, really good running

(23:53):
back out of North Carolina. But with Rashaun Slater going down,
that's a big, big deal. So let's go back to
the division odds.

Speaker 7 (24:02):
You've got.

Speaker 4 (24:03):
The Chargers are at plus three ten, the Broncos are
at plus three ten. The Raiders are seventeen to one
to win the division.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
Look, they've made some upgrades.

Speaker 4 (24:15):
They might be feisty enough to win a couple of
division games, they're they're not gonna really challenge to win
the division. So it's really like the Broncos and the Chargers,
they're both basically at three to one. Whatever you bet
times that by three, that's your payout.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
The Chiefs are close to even money.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
The Kansas City Chiefs are at minus one eighteen.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
That just seems too good to be true.

Speaker 4 (24:42):
How do you not bet the Chiefs to win the
AFC West for a tenth year in a row. How
have they fallen off? You've got ver Mahomes to throw to.
You got Rashi Rice, He's gonna be suspended a few games.
You got him, Hollywood Brown, Xavier Worthy, Travis Kelce, top
five scoring defense from last season.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
They're not winning the division?

Speaker 4 (25:05):
What would it take for that to be the case?
I think it would take significant injury woes for the
Chiefs not to win the division. And I don't want
to make it sound like, you know, all these other
teams have no chance.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
It's the NFL.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
I don't want to make it sound like that, but man,
the Broncos taking that big of a step forward to
win the division. I know that, we like have PTSD
from the Chiefs getting blown out by the Eagles in
the Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
And there are a lot of people are like, yeah, no,
no about the Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (25:38):
They were a fifteen and two team last season, and
you can talk about, Hey, a favorable bounce here, a
lucky win there. Okay, you take away a couple of
wins like they're thirteen and four, there's still a thirteen
win team. If you take away a couple of favorable wins,

(25:59):
there's still a edibly good at what they do. I
love the Chiefs to win their division again. Have I
convinced you to put some money on the Chiefs in
the AFC West coop?

Speaker 3 (26:09):
I'm guessing I probably haven't. Hell No, is that more
based on principle or logic?

Speaker 7 (26:18):
Both both?

Speaker 3 (26:21):
I think it's more based on principle. I get it.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
You're Broncos guy. You want to run to the betting
window and bet the Chiefs. No problem with that, But
that's based on principle. That's not based on logic. What
logical What logical argument do you have to back someone
other than the Chiefs.

Speaker 7 (26:38):
Broncos should have beat them twice last year and.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
How many times did they beat them?

Speaker 7 (26:42):
Once?

Speaker 3 (26:44):
Did get him at the end?

Speaker 2 (26:45):
When?

Speaker 3 (26:45):
Who was it?

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Like Jake Locker's brother was playing quarterback at the end
of the year. That was the the game they didn't
play anybody? Right?

Speaker 7 (26:54):
Yeah, but the game, the first game that was hideous.

Speaker 4 (26:59):
I mean, you're on the road, gotta make a I
think they're at home. The close field goal was that
at home? That was on the road, right, that was
in Arrowhead. That was in Arrowhead.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
You got a makeable field goal blocked, right, they blocked it. Yep, yep,
it happens. It happens. Hey.

Speaker 4 (27:18):
Well, while we're talking about betting, let's get Poppy on
here right from San Diego.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Poppy's got some bets for us. What's going on, Poppy?

Speaker 8 (27:26):
Hey, you know, welcome to the family. Yeah, I just
I heard you talking about bets, and I have bets
for tomorrow. And look, get the vision. Let me go
before I get the picked out. AFC West is a
tough division, but look you're saying the Chiefs are gonna
win it ten times in a row. Like sooner or later,
someone's got a betle Man. The odds with the Chargers

(27:48):
and the Broncles is looking pretty good. You know, John
Harveall saying the ship under load, Hey, next man off
for the offensive line. So you got justin Herbert and
they looked pretty good. And the Broncles, they looked amazing,
Like three of the AFC West made the playoffs and
coops teams the Broncos at Boecks, he looked amazing. But

(28:08):
this rookie year good Kennedy top five quarterback in my
opinion on the rookies, that he should be able to
strive and do good. So, like someone's telling me money,
what am I gonna bet? Look, I think Sean Payne
is a great coach with the Broncos, So I think
the Broncos are really going to give trouble for the Chiefs.
And I would have been surprised if the Broncos coops

(28:29):
team actually wins that division.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
I'd be freaking Yeah, I'd be shocked.

Speaker 7 (28:33):
As your all time best call, Poppy.

Speaker 4 (28:35):
It's a word good job, terrible argument from you, Poppy,
like you you're giving me, Hey, it could happen.

Speaker 3 (28:40):
I wouldn't be shocked. That's not good enough.

Speaker 8 (28:44):
Well it is good enough. Uh you know, Brian know
because like everyone the whole world, when the whole world
tell me that, or the casinos just on the numbers,
when he talks the analytics and the numbers, that's kind
of like a red flag. We're like, oh, it sounds
too good to be true. Well, guess what it's gonna
be too good to be true, and the Chiefs are
not going to I went ten years in the row.
You don't make the playoffs, but they're not gonna win
the division AFC WES so red flag for everyone. Do

(29:07):
not bet on the Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (29:08):
Okay, So I got I got a proposal. I got
a proposal for you, mister, bet on the Broncos. All right, here,
here's what we do. We'll just use these odds. How
about this. We'll make a bet together.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
Now.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
Typically I don't do this because I don't think any
listener on the face of the earth has ever paid
a bet. Sir, scratch off. You're on my list. The
list is very extensive. Every listener has weaseled out of
every payment.

Speaker 7 (29:34):
Always with me.

Speaker 4 (29:35):
But the proposal would be, I got the Chiefs. Whatever
dollar amount we bet. Let's say we bet fifty bucks.
If I'm right, Chiefs win, you owe me fifty bucks, Poppy.
If your Broncos win, or any of the other three
teams win, I'll give you three times that amount.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
That's basically what it would be. Yeah, what do you.

Speaker 8 (29:53):
Think any of those three teams? I really like those
of form, even as those three teams. That's been amazing.
I'm taking that anytime, because you know, Andy Reid is
getting really targeting closer retirement, Travis Kelsey having problems with,
you know, relationship, Katy Perry.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
Like this season a lot of trouble, So I really
like he's having problems with relationships, Poppy.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
That's what's going on there. What's going on with him?
I thought they were looking for a house.

Speaker 8 (30:20):
Him and Katy Perry. Yeah, well yeah, Katy Perry or whatever.
You know, he's going whatever his whatever's throwing whatever. But yeah,
I'm liking that bet though.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
Man, you're crazy, Poppy. So what are we doing?

Speaker 4 (30:35):
We're we doing fifty bucks? Were doing fifteen hundred bucks?
What are we throwing on this here? Because I'm good
for whatever. I'm ready for to back the chiefs here.

Speaker 8 (30:43):
That wasn't well, whatever you want, it's all good. Whatever
you want. You know, by no, I'll hate to take
your money, but hey, it's going to come out in
my favorite for a reason, and whatever you want to bet,
it's all good with me.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
Okay, we won't go crazy. Let's just put one hundred
dollars on it. That was the bet I had with
Koop and he won because his Broncos weaseled their way
into the top five scoring defense. I don't know how
they did it, but they had a great year, and
I paid up. So what do you think even hundred?
You owe me one hundred If the Chiefs win, I
owe you three hundred if anybody else wins.

Speaker 8 (31:15):
Oh wow, I like that, you know with remember, I
like that. I'll take it.

Speaker 4 (31:20):
We're shaking, we're shaking. We're shaking on this poppy. I'm
shaking my hand. We're figured figuratively shaking. It's the best
we can do right here, all right, yep, Yeah, your
word is your bond, right you You should say I
will pay up. Unlike sir scratch Off. You know you
don't have to say that. It's implied.

Speaker 8 (31:39):
Okay, Okay, I'm like Jerry Jones. I'm looking in your
eyes and I'm a man of my word.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
That's right, Well done by you. I love it.
